Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Radio Living Dray once again here on a fully loaded
Sports Saturday.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
This is Fox Sports Saturday.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
We're broadcasting live from the ti rag dot com studios
tyrad dot com. We're gonna have get you there and
I'm Matt selection fast Reshipping free road as a protection
over ten thousand recommending installers ti rag dot com the
way tire buying should be.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
I was really nervous here, Manci that we were.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Going to be talking about the obituary of the twenty
twenty four NBA Finals. But your Mavericks are alive, are alive.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
You know.

Speaker 5 (00:39):
There's so many, so many things that I feel when it.

Speaker 6 (00:43):
Comes to this series, Steve, so many and this is
you know, they're not my Clippers, right, so I I
have no I'm not.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
Angry because it's not really my team.

Speaker 6 (00:53):
But man, what really just like so many layers to
what has happened the first four games to me, Luka
Doncic took the bait in the first half of the
first game, took the bait that the Celtics were doing,
which was we're gonna let you do whatever you want,
but we're gonna stop everyone else. And what have we
been talking about throughout the series or throughout the playoffs

(01:15):
with the maps that everybody was stepping up to their role.
Everybody was delivering, not just Kyrie, even though Kyrie was
amazing and Luca. After the first half of the first game,
Luca took the bait and thought.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
Okay, I guess I have to do it all by myself.
And it did not work. It did not work.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
So I had become less of a Luca fan as
the series has gone on. I mean, seriously, I look
at it. I don't watch Mavericks religiously. I know what
the numbers say, first team All NBA five consecutive years,
and he's had a great run to get his team
to the NBA Finals. But his antics during these finals,

(01:54):
what he did at the end of Game three, where
those back to back fouls a foul out of the
game and he's crying, complaining, dude, those were blocks. When
you extend your leg, you are gonna be called for
a block.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
No, So the bottom line is you gotta play smart.
Those are dumb fouls. Great players don't make dumb fouls.
When your team has miraculously overcome a twenty one point deficit,
to cut it to three with still four and a
half minutes remaining in the game. I mean, it's anybody's

(02:28):
game at that point, and you get two stupid, bonehead
fouls called against you, complaining that somehow you deserve different treatment.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Sorry.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
I love when they were reviewing the last fowl, which
obviously foiled him out of the game, and they're trying
to say, well, maybe I'm like, no, there's no maybe
he extended his leg.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
That is a block.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
And so when the officials said, yeah, that's that's a block,
you are dequed from the I'm like, good, good for you,
because that was the right call. But this is something
that if you are a great player, you need to
be there at the end of the Game four. Your team,
he threw his own stupidity abandon his team in the

(03:17):
pivotal game of this series. Game three, your team has
made this miraculous fourth quarter comeback to put themselves in
a position to make it a two to one series.
Right now, we could be talking about two to two
going back to Boston. But no, no, you played stupid basketball.
You get fouled out of the game, your team loses

(03:39):
your down three to zero. No team's ever overcome a
three to zero deficit in any round of the playoffs
and NBA history, they lose this series. This is squarely
on the shoulders of Luca Dantic.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
And you're not wrong.

Speaker 6 (03:52):
And I think he knows that too, which is why
he took the bait so early on in the series.
And I agree with you. And it wasn't even just
that play the entire game. He was playing frustrated. He
was playing like he needed to catch up. And yeah,
you were down two zero, but you were still in it.
You had an opportunity, like you just said, to make

(04:12):
it a two to two series at this point, but
you let your emotions get the best of you. You
became frustrated, and the entire game you complained several moments
where you complained the Celtics got an easy bucket, several
not one, not two.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Where's my not one, not two, not three? I need
that right now.

Speaker 6 (04:30):
But legit, why why did you handle this entire game
like that?

Speaker 5 (04:35):
The entire game, not just at the end.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
You played frustrated after the first half of the first
quarter of the first game, all the way through Game four,
well all the way through game three. Game four you
came out and I don't know if they gave him
happy pills.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
I don't know if they injected him with happy sauce.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
But he came out there just like smiling and like
having a good time, and it's like, where was this?

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Honestly, did they give him the bills? What happened there?
A completely different person.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
By the way, if you're wondering about when game five is,
when is it Monday?

Speaker 5 (05:08):
Of course it is.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
So it's not tomorrow, it's Monday. And then if there's
a game six, it's Thursday. And if there's a Game seven,
it's Sunday. So they're really dragging this thing out right now. Look,
when you have a blowout of that magnitude in the postseason,
much less the NBA Finals, it happens for two reasons.

(05:35):
Reason one is you have a desperate team needing to
win to stay alive, which Dallas was in that position.
But to have that kind of a loss, you also
have a team that really mails it in. Yeah, and
that was the Boston itself. Like it was the lowest
scoring half in the entire season. In that first half.
You just you watch this Boston team stadium themselves. All right,

(05:55):
come on, we got the one game we wanted. We
want to wrap this up. Game five can win. Any
game we won. Game five, we'll win at home. And
I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa Boston, whoa whoa whoa.
Last year Eastern Conference Finals, you're playing the eight seed Miami.
You get and you were down three to zero in
that series. You come back, You win three in a row,

(06:16):
including two on the road, to set up Game seven home.

Speaker 7 (06:20):
Done.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
You're gonna be the first team ever to overcome a
three to zero definicit to win a series. And then
Tatum gets banged up, hurt, and they play like dogs
and they get blown out on their home court any
Game seven. So they better be careful in this Game five.
If they play with anywhere near the lack of intensity
we saw in Game four, this thing could be heading

(06:42):
back to Dallas.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
You know, psychologically, in their head they're thinking nobody's ever
come back from being down three. But the thing is,
the way basketball is now, with the high level scoring
in the threes.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
Nothing is guaranteed. You can't be comfortable.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
And they gave up so fast last night that I
was like, man, if I was at this game, I
would be such an upset fan because in the fourth quarter,
who am I watching?

Speaker 5 (07:03):
None of the stars?

Speaker 6 (07:05):
And it's like, I understand, you're getting blown out, and
you're just like, whatever, let's pack it up.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
You should have been playing.

Speaker 6 (07:10):
You should have been playing in the fourth quarter, like
you should have at least pretended for a hot second
that you were still trying.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
But you threw in the towel so early. I really
was a man.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
I would be so annoyed if I was a fan
watching this game in person, paying how much money probably
for this game, and then all of you are sitting
in the fourth the entire fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Well, keep in mind the Celtics had won ten straight
playoff games. Yeah, that was the first time in their history,
the history of the Celtics seventeen championships, that they had
won ten consecutive playoff games.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
They had not lost a playoff game on the road.
And then you lose by.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
What thirty eight, I mean, was just stimulus, absolutely absurd
by the way I was thinking about Celtic's legacy, right. Yes,
and this is coming from a Celtic hater, Okay, I'm
not going to sugar coat this. Just I've been a
lifelong Celtics hater. And by the way, just the quick
note of the passing of Jerry West, who was my

(08:03):
greatest sports hero as a kid. I know I'm aging myself,
but the fact is, when I was a kid and
basketball was my favorite sport to play, It's the only
one I was good. I was too skinny for football
and I couldn't hit a lick, but I could play basketball,
and I when I had a chance to wear a
jersey number, I always wore forty four because of Jerry West.

(08:23):
And he was a wonderful man, just absolutely wonderful man.
He had a long life, and you know, no one
lives forever, but he was the MVP of the nineteen
sixty nine NBA Finals, the first one I remember watching.
I was in fifth grade at the time, and it
was a heartbreak. The home team won all six games.
Game seven was at the Forum. This is it. The

(08:44):
Lakers are going to fight, and they lose to Bill
Russell what turned out to be his last game. But keep
in mind about the Celtics seventeen championships in their first
thirty years in the NBA. Forty years excuse me, first
forty years of the NBA. They won sixteen championships. In fact,

(09:10):
if you go the first ten years, they won none.
So in a thirty years spanned from Bill Russell's rookie
year until the last championship they won with Larry Bird.
Bill Walton was on that team in eighty six. In
a thirty year span, they've won sixteen, more than half
the championships. Now in the thirty six years since, they've

(09:31):
won one. Yeah, one, So sixteen championships in thirty years.
One in the last thirty six years. So I can
understand if you're a Celtic fan, man, you're you're.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
You feel like Clipper fans, Yeah, pretty much Clipper fans.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Seriously, they've won one championship since nineteen eighty six, so
it's gonna be a big deal for them. But they're
gonna be feeling the pressure. I'm telling you, yes, they're
gonna come home. There would have been less pressure in
a Game four on the then there is when you
come home, as their fans expected last year in that
Game seven of the Eastern Conference Finals, Wow, we're gonna

(10:07):
make history tonight. And they laid an egg.

Speaker 6 (10:10):
And we've seen the Celtics not just do that once
or twice, but several times, losing to teams, losing in
games when.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
You should not have lost.

Speaker 6 (10:19):
And if that happens on Monday and they go back
to Dallas, you're telling me Dallas is not going to
win that game. All of a sudden, we have a
Game seven, like there's a real possibility.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Yeah. And then, as the Celtics found out last year,
all the pressure beyond.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
All the pressure would be on you.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
So you can say they mailed it in. But you
gave Dallas confidence. You gave them too much.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Jason Kidd.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
They showed him pregame talking about I hope you guys
are packed for Boston because we're going back to Boston.
We're not going to lose its game and it was
a mailing job. By the way, good news for the NBA.
Ratings were up significantly in Game two after bad ratings
in Game one. Game two. I haven't seen the Game
three ratings, so a little more fanfare in terms of

(11:02):
the NBA Finals. By the way, Mark Medeen, our NBA insider,
is going to join us later in the next hour,
but coming up. We haven't talked to him a couple
of weeks. It's time to check in once again with

Steve Harvey, Monzie Belangios. Here a Fox Sports Saturday. We
are live from the tire rack dot Com studios keeping
her eye on the third round of the US Open.
Right now, Bryson De'shambo has taken a one shot, laid
over Rory McElroy and then two guys who names We
have been trying to figure out one of them is
one is the French guy? Know, Matthew pav that's a

(13:10):
French Because I took French, and then luvig Oldberg it's
Oberg Oberg. So it'd be like, because something I know that,
can I turn on Nick Mike for just a second
because you said it was Obert, And I'm like, well,
wait of say it. If there's a G at the
end of his first name and a G at the
end of his last name, why would one be silent
one be pronounced.

Speaker 9 (13:31):
It's a great mystery. And then I've been potting up.
I've been potting up the TV. Turrico is just saying Oberg,
not berg Berg, and I'm like, all right, if it's
good enough for Mike Turrico, then it's probably good enough.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
For for all of us.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
I said, be louv Obert, Okay, I mean, I'm gonna
say Ludvigue Obert Oberg. It's gonna be.

Speaker 9 (13:50):
I think he's gonna I think he wants to anglicize
his name a little bit because I think he expects
to be a guy.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Here on tour for a little while.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
So g me, he's again feat Actually is I heard
he's telling people just say Aberg.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
He is just looking at Aberg.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
I mean, if you see an aau say a, I
get it. You know instead of the up, all right, Nick,
very much, he continued to work on that. He's a perfectionist.
I understand that, all right, speaking of a perfectionist. Every
opportunity we get to talk to this man is truly
a treat. He is our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider
Adam Kaplan is back with us once again.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Adam is great to talk to you.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
I want to get right to this Trevor Lawrence contract.
One hundred and forty two million guaranteed for a guy
whose career record is twenty one and thirty one including
the playoffs, and who finished last season on a one
in five run. Used to be that you were penalized
when he had a bad season, but in his case,

(14:50):
he gets rewarded richly.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
So where does this lead us next?

Speaker 2 (14:55):
And when exactly are the Chiefs going to correct the
fact that Patrick Mahomes now is nowhere to be seen
in terms of his average salary amongst the highest paid
quarterbacks in the NFL.

Speaker 7 (15:09):
Yeah, so let's start with the latter.

Speaker 10 (15:11):
So the Chiefs to begin last season made adjustment to
his contract. They gave him a little bit more money.
But yeah, Mahomes is lagging. There's no question about it.
His average was bumped up to forty six just over
forty six million, but it's not quite good enough. But
the next deals and Matthew stafford that he won't get
that much. But once we get some of the younger

(15:33):
quarterbacks deals and Brock Perdy and others, next year, you're
looking at fifty seven to sixty million a year. The
Cowboys still want to get Dak Prescott done, but Ceedee
Lamb is up first that they've been trying to get
that done, and they've been kind of stalling a little
bit because they want to see what the Justin Jefferson
deal looks like. And we keep saying this about the Cowboys,

(15:53):
the longer they wait on these contracts and more.

Speaker 7 (15:55):
That they pay.

Speaker 10 (15:56):
Jefferson making just under thirty seven million, thirty six point
nine three eight million, it's just to be thirty five million,
thirty five mini Hey signing Buns was thirty seven, but
thirty five million for receiver folks is crazy. But the
Cowboys have waited, and if you look at the ceed
Lamb numbers, what potentially could be and you just look
at what Justin Jefferson got.

Speaker 7 (16:18):
Lamb's got a good argument.

Speaker 10 (16:19):
Because his statistics, average receptions per season, targets, touchdowns, yard edge,
very similar to Justin Jefferson.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
Hi, Adam, welcome back. We missed you last week.

Speaker 7 (16:31):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
So this Trevor Lawrence contract, not just Dak Prescott's contract
is going to be affected by it.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
But what about Tuwatogo bay Lawa, who we also heard
lost weight. I don't know if he needed to. I
didn't even know he could lose twenty five pounds. He
didn't look it to me. How does it affect him?

Speaker 10 (16:46):
Well, see, let me get just and I'll finish off
the Lawrence talk. So my understanding what the Jaguars was
that they knew if they got this done now, because
when the next deals get done, fifty seven to sixty.

Speaker 7 (16:56):
Million, and if they waited.

Speaker 10 (16:58):
You know, Lawrence two years ago look like he was
on his way, very inconsistent season.

Speaker 7 (17:03):
Had lower and body lower body and upper body injury.

Speaker 10 (17:06):
He was kind of beat up. He just didn't have
a good year. And his best receiver last year got hurt.
It was Christian Kirk. He had groin surgery and just
it was Steve talked about their season went off the
rails late.

Speaker 7 (17:17):
They choked that division. They should have won it.

Speaker 10 (17:19):
They got off to that great start, then they choked
and you know they were reeling. They found they fired
Doug Peterson, their head cut, fired most of their defensive staff.
And they don't think it was really Lawrence. They just
think they had they have to. They also, by the way,
one thing I would talk about, you know, they have
Press Taylor.

Speaker 7 (17:36):
He's their offense coordinator.

Speaker 10 (17:37):
Who Doug Peterson in season hand off the play calling
two that didn't go over very well. That's something to
watch next year. But the the the Jaguars think that
Lawrence is their guy, like they they felt that day one.
We've seen some good things from him. Look Steven Steve's point. Look,
if they waited, sure, let him put together a really

(17:57):
good season, then go for it. But the problem is
the longer you wait, the more costs you Now getting
back to tua I just my sense is they just
don't see it the way that his new representation in
the last couple of years. They don't see it the
same way. They don't see the money the same way.
He's their guy, by the way. They feel that way.
And you know this is why you have the franchise tag.

(18:19):
You just you tag the guy a couple of years
and then you make a decision and we know about
to his injury history.

Speaker 7 (18:24):
It's it's not an easy call.

Speaker 10 (18:26):
Remember they passed up on Justin Herbert and to who's,
by the way, has done a good job. You know,
we've he's kind of lost weight put on way, you know.
But the thing is, did a good job last season.
They have a new defense coordinator, they've kind of changed
up things there. But you know, overall, it's another one
the longer you wait. But I don't get the sense
that they're worried about that. Whereas the Jaguars were worried

(18:49):
about waiting.

Speaker 7 (18:49):
They didn't want to use a tag and that's where
they went.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
I have a theory about quarterbacks postseason success, and this
is based on historical data that I have accumulated over
these thousand years of my existence. So when people talk
about a Dak Prescott and say, well, I know he
hasn't played well in the postseason, but man, there's a
lot of teams out there that still believe they could

(19:13):
win a Super Bowl with him. I go back again
to my Raider days. People get annoyed when I do
that because it was so long ago, but there was
there was a situation where I would talk to players
about we had Jim Plunkett, who had won two Super Bowls,
and we had Mark Wilson, who had a great career
BYU he could probably throw the ball better than Jim,

(19:37):
And I said, what's the difference in the huddle? And
all the players will say the same thing to me.
One guy's done it. And so when you have a
guy in the huddle that's actually done it as opposed
to a guy in the huddle that hasn't done it,
it's a big difference for the players in that huddle.
And you know, you could make arguments about, well, if

(20:00):
it's a team sport, this that and everything else. No, no, no,
no no. When you have a quarterback in that huddle
that has won it all, he raises the level of
play of everyone when it matters most, which is in
the postseason, because obviously it's a completely different beast when
you get into the postseason. And so if you have
a quarterback that has come up short time, and again,

(20:22):
as Dak Prescott has the idea that all of a
sudden he's going to flip the switch. Adam, you know
the history game, like I do, there aren't a lot
of guys that have had a lot of failure, failure, failure,
and then all of a sudden it clicks.

Speaker 7 (20:35):
It doesn't work that way.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Usually, guys from the get go that do well in
the postseason play pretty well. Maybe they make the gradual climb,
but they're showing promise in the postseason. Guys that you
are bad in the postseason. This Lamar Jackson may be
another example of this. Yep, the idea that they're just
going to flip the switch and suddenly be really good
in the postseason doesn't happen.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Well.

Speaker 10 (20:57):
You usually get over it at some point. Prescott's two
and five in the playoffs. He usually, you know, maybe
you struggle, you have to get to a certain point,
like the first couple of games, you know, it doesn't
go well. Then you learn what it's like. You handle
the pressure better. Now here's the problem though, with that game.
It's not as though the it was just that Prescott

(21:18):
did not play well against the Packers.

Speaker 7 (21:21):
He padded some stats.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
He threw for over four.

Speaker 10 (21:25):
Hundred yards in that game, but he played poorly. Their
defense is terrible, terrible in that game, Dak you know,
and let's not forget Dak would have phenomenal, phenomenal regular season.
After a tough in twenty twenty two, he became an
interception guys, forcing too many passes. They went to a
new offense coordinator, or actually they went to Mike McCarthy's

(21:46):
calling the plays. They changed the offense a little bit
that raindo Man. He did better with the timing based offense,
but had a bad playoff game. He's still only Look,
he's only thirty years old. This position you could play
into your late thirty early forties, but on Steve on
your point, at some point it's got to click. You
got to get the job done. And by the way,

(22:06):
he is on the final vers deal now, they still
want to extend it. They believe it internally he's not
gonna be playing anywhere else in the future after the season.
But you don't want to get to a point where
you feel like you're forced to do anything. And by
the way, it's Ceedee Lamb and they also Michael Parsons.
They don't feel the pressure to get his deal done.
They know what that's going to look like whenever it

(22:28):
gets done. And that's got to be Nick Bosa's deal,
which is over thirty four million a season. That's a
monster deal and it'll have to eclipse that. And don't forget,
you've got the ceede Lamb deal. So they've got a
lot of work to do, and once again Dallas waits
forever to get deals done.

Speaker 6 (22:44):
Adam sticking here with the Cowboys Trey Lance. Are we
going to see that guy at all this season? Do
you think the Cowboys may trade Trey Lance? I feel
like we just kind of forgot about him.

Speaker 10 (22:56):
They want to see Their goal was to always develop
him as they back up to Deck Prescott and Cooper.
Rush is technically the number two quarterback, but they feel
like Lance could overtake it. But Trey Lance is a project.
He was seen as that coming out of North Dakota State.
Remember when they made the trade, it was kind of like, Okay,
he came off a bad injury, let's get his head

(23:19):
right and he's got a very low end deal that
there was no fifthyar There's no they're not picking up
you know, they declined the fifth year option. He's only
going to make just over one million this season in cash.
He's got a training camp roster bonus which they'll pay,
but they just they like to develop. In fact that
as I understand, they like to bring him back next
year when his contract's up, and bring him back is

(23:40):
the backup to Prescott and and obviously if for some
reason they can't get a bridge deal with down with
Prescott and it shocks the world. And look if if
Trey Lance could just really show something in training camp
and when when when they and take over the number
two job? They love They as I understand, they like

(24:02):
to keep this relationship going. They see a lot of
promise in him, but he's also a major project.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Matta Riza is going to be the punter for the Chiefs.

Speaker 7 (24:09):
M h.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
I'm happy about this. I got to know Matt obviously
when he was in San Diego State. He shattered all
the records. You know, the charges against him.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
They are what they were.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
The girl dropped the charges and everything else. But it
does make for an interesting pair, doesn't it for kickers
for that team between.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Bucker and Raiza.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
I don't know any team that's gets notoriety either of
their two kickers. Then Chiefs are going to have this season.

Speaker 10 (24:34):
Well remember he was going to counter sue and look,
it's it. There's a lot more of that story. We
don't have enough time. But yeah, the there was no
I mean, if the authorities didn't arge him, they wound
up not charging them.

Speaker 7 (24:47):
So he's ready to roll.

Speaker 10 (24:49):
He signed a one year deal with the Chiefs and
Matta Rise is going to get a second chance to
good for him and then Bucker with his situation. It
is kind of you know, by the way the Chiefs
have had We'll keep the rise of stuff to the side.
Just the guys that they were holdovers. They've had a
bunch of legal issues to deal with this offseason. It's
been sort of tumultuous with them, and they, by the way,

(25:11):
everyone was just getting there. They met with the President
this past week.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Well they got three rings in their pockets. So right now,
so no pressure on the cheese. It's see everyone else
that's got to catch up. Adam great stuff. I mean,
it's you know, we're getting close. What exactly I'm looking
at our calendar because you know, I know we're in
mid June right now, what exactly will NFL training camps open?

Speaker 10 (25:33):
All right, so the teams are in the Hall of
Fame game, they get to report a week early, so
we will see the first teams in about four and
a half weeks report and then all the teams that
the new staffs also get to report early. Then the
rest of them report around the twenty fourth to twenty
fifth of July. So we're about a month or so
away from in. And by the way, we got all

(25:56):
the OTAs were done this past Thursday, the week before.
Ten teams are done. The other twenty two were just
done this Thursday, this past Thursday. So yeah, that's it.
I mean, it's pretty much. We'll get some contract extensions done.
That's pretty much yet. I mean, nothing these are you know,
it's kind of what we expected. A bunch of deals
got done, and it's kind of where we're at.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Great stuff, all right, Adam, we'll talk to you again
next week, Thanks so much, Thank you, Adam Kaplan or
Fox Sports right NFL. And so I had to get
that in because I know people are like, what exactly
does the football season began? There? You go a little
over a month away until those training camps open.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Let's find out what is trending right now.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
He's been a master at manipulating every name that's been
thrown at him from the leaderboard of this year's US Open.

Speaker 9 (26:37):
What's sure you're going with that, I'm like manipulator, okay.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Manipulator, yes, I mean the fact the matter is, you
have to decide how you want to pronounce the name.

Speaker 9 (26:47):
Yes, right, and I tend to just go the path
of least resistance. I think if it's just you know,
we were talking pre show when you have to do
things with your let me think about how to say this,
but you know, pronouncing thing. If he would say dialect
like you know, Matthew, I never took French right home.

(27:11):
I don't know how the Swedes, you know, inflect certain
words and so like that's just so far out of
my lexica.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
I think you know the name of the guy leading
right now.

Speaker 9 (27:21):
Yeah, bryceon to Shambo and I don't know if you
guys caught this, but he's been dealing with a bad
right hip today. He had the physio come out on
the course and before he hit his t shot I
think it was on eleven or ten, he actually ducked
into the trees a little bit so he could lie
down and get attention on his right hip, and he
apparently asked the NBC cameras on the ground, like can

(27:45):
I get a little privacy here? So does NBC do Okay, yeah,
we'll back off. Drone shot right overhead to Shambo lying
on his side getting some treatment. But yes, it hasn't
hurt him. He now has the lead. He's two shots
clear the field now minus seven. Bryson Deshambeau, Roy McRoy
is two shots back and minus five, along with Matthew Povol,

(28:10):
nice friend, and then the guy who apparently doesn't even
care how his name's pronounced, so Ludwig Oberg. He is
also a part of that group that has tied for
second at five under Hedeki Matsuyama. He's had three under
in the mix as well. We started the day with
nineteen golfers under par. Classic US Open. We're down to
nine golfers under par. As we're getting late here in

(28:33):
this third round. We did have some NFL news today.
Bengals receiver T Higgins signed his franchise tag. He has
expected report to training camp next month, but those reports
also say that a long term deal for Higgins is
a long shot. We got Game four of the Stanley
Cup Final tonight at eight Eastern, the Panthers trying to
become the first team to sweep the finals since the

(28:53):
Red Wings in nineteen ninety eight College World Series going on,
and listen to this your numbers, guys. Steve another walkoff
win moments ago, Kentucky a walkoff homer over NC State
five to four and ten innings. All three games so
far in Omaha have been decided in walk off fashion.
First time in the seventy seven year history of the

(29:13):
College World Series that there have been three straight walkoff wins.
That's amazing stats. It's been very dramatic. I know college
baseball is niche, but if you're into it and you've
been watching it, it's been great. Kentucky at a home
run in the ninth to tie, walk it off in
the ten. So tons of drama, a lot of good
baseball there. Big leagues, he had a bunch of finals.

(29:35):
Cubs handled the Cardinals five to one. The Brewers beat
the Reds three to one. And I'd love to play
little sound for you guys because Snoop Dogg is playing
a show tonight in Milwaukee. Throughout the first pitch and
he joined the broadcast booth for the Brewers, and here's
a groundball to short with the Reds playing defense. I'll

(29:56):
just it's a TV. But just to set it up
for you a little bit. And now listen into Snoop.

Speaker 10 (30:01):
I came in with a player is gonna be in
it because I'm gonna play it.

Speaker 7 (30:04):
You been here he's said, if you can't throw that,
he got all like tech know he does know. We
don't Ellie de la Cruz with a howitzer.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
He got a rocket in his pocket.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
There you go, doesn't know who Dela Cruz is, no snoop.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
But but he's got a rocket in his pocket.

Speaker 7 (30:29):
You can't.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
You can go on like there's a lot more stuff,
but that was that was one of the best moments. Yeah,
he he was gold. He was going more Snoop on baseball. Beautiful.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Back to you guys, all right, Nick, thank you very much.
Once again, Steve Hartman and Monci Bolanos. Here Fox Sports Saturday.
We are live from the tire rack dot Com studios.
Tomorrow is Father's Day. It is I mentioned to uh
Rich last Sunday. The Father's Day is like the middle
child of holidays. It's uh it is.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
It doesn't get a lot of respect, very forgotten.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
Yeah, and what do you get socks?

Speaker 2 (31:05):
You know, like, actually I'm getting a I believe I'm
going to get a filtered water thing for you know,
because of my new place I have in the trying
of Phoenix. It's uh, it's hot.

Speaker 5 (31:18):
Yeah. I feel bad because you're right, the fathers are
just like, oh, it is dad, it's Father's Day. What
do we get Dad? And you're figuring it out the
day before Mother's Day is not like that at all
at all.

Speaker 8 (31:28):
You know.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
So yeah, I I don't even know if we're doing
my family is doing anything.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
Actually for Father's Day, because I would imagine your dad
doesn't care. Well, most dads always say we don't care,
but you know, yeah, a card, something, something for.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
The effort something.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
I'll definitely take him out for a cocktail. He's definitely
gonna want a cocktail, so I could do that.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
All right. So I wanted to get to a story. Uh,
and we're gonna have Who's Your Daddy? Coming up on
the other side, and I've sort of switched my mind
on the story. In fact, I really switched my mind.
I was listening to Jonas Okay earlier today and anytime
there's a gambling story and we've seen you know, suspensions

(32:10):
and everything else for people that have just engage in
some level of gambling, and arguably the best umpire in baseball.
This is a guy who actually got a perfect score
in terms of balls and strikes at a World Series game,
did not miss a single pitch. This is the antithesis
of Angel Hernandez. All Right, this guy, and he hasn't

(32:32):
been an umpire this year because of an investigation that
he was evolved in some level of gambling. And I
heard Jonas talk about the fact that, you know, get
over it. People can gamble, it's no big deal. But
I have this little voice in my head from my
late great partner Chet forty. It was a compulsive gambler.
And when Michael Jordan abruptly retired right in the middle

(32:53):
of his career in nineteen ninety three, played minor league
baseball before he returned. He's a compulsive gambler. That's what
Michael Jordan is. He gets an adrenaline Russian gambling and
tend always told me this, and he goes, here's the
reason why you have to be tough on gambling. Because
you know the rules, you break the rules anyway, So

(33:15):
that means you are compulsive. In other words, it's something.

Speaker 7 (33:18):
You need to do.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
You need to do it, you need to gamble, and
a gambler is always going to go where he gets
himself the best odds. So when we talk about, well,
what's the harm in an umpire for Major League Baseball
game betting on NBA games, Well, he knows he can't.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
But if he's willing to break the rules.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
For that, why wouldn't he have control where he could
actually control Like Tim donaghe did obviously the NBA official,
they got caught and you know, in the end of
his career. So I'm turned on this one. Maybe he
was listening to Jonas. I've turned on this one because
I'm like, no, you do have to lay the law

(34:05):
down on gambling. I'm really switched my gears on this
one because I know that if you know the rules
and you break them anyway just because you want to gamble,
you got a problem.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
Yeah. Yeah, it's a slippery slope.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
And I think that's what's hard about it, that if
you give them an inch, they're not just gonna take
the inch. But right now we are in a time
where gambling is everywhere, it is at your fingertips.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
So before I.

Speaker 6 (34:35):
Think I would have been more like, who cares if
they gamble? Now I'm like, no, you can't, and you
do have to be it has to be black and white. No,
you can't do it because it is such a slippery slope.
And like the NFL, the NFL is like, Okay, you
can't gamble here, but if you cross the street you
can gamble. Like we come on like it's too great
for me, and I think it does need to stay.
You can not do it even though everyone does it

(34:59):
if you work in that field.

Speaker 5 (35:01):
If you work, you can't do it. It's a slippery slope,
like you just said, and most gamble. It's an addictive person.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
But if you are making a really good living, yes,
doing what it is you want to do. Yes, and
you're told you can do this as long as you want.
If you do a good job. You just can't gamble.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
Yeah, the overwhelming.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Majority of people who know the problem. Fine, I won't gamble.
There's other ways for me to entertain myself. But if
you can't do that, you've got a gambling problem. Yes,
and you're going to get in a situation where you
need the advantage and your sport is the one place
where you could gain the advantage. Yes, that's the concern,

(35:46):
and it's.

Speaker 6 (35:46):
A genuine concern because again, typically it's an addictive personality
when people like to gamble and they go down that
rabbit hole, right, Like, I actually don't really do gambling
unless I'm in Vegas because I think I would like
it too much.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
The parlays and stuff. I go, I have it, Counts
Steve and I go and I start it, and I'm like, no,
don't do it.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
Don't do it because I think I'm going to enjoy
it too much, and if I start winning, I don't.
That's why I'm not even opening the door. But it's
so accessible and so easy.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
It's on your phone.

Speaker 6 (36:15):
It's on your phone, and it's fun, and everybody talks
about it now, Like we go to the bar and
it's literally like the bartenders like, yeah, I had a
parlay today, Look I almost hit it and everybody everyone
is doing it.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Think about how things can inspiral oute. Look at Otani's interpreter.
I know, how could that even happened? Fifteen million dollars
what I mean? So, yeah, I can understand their concerns,
and I think they are right in laying down the
hard law. You have to you have to laying down. Yeah,

(36:48):
you know the rules you broke the rules, you pay
the price, all right? Coming up on the other side.
It has now become a new tradition on the show.
I'm not exactly sure why, but everyone seems to like,
who's your daddy?

Speaker 3 (37:01):
This is Fox Sports Saturday.

Speaker 6 (37:18):
I am Monty Wilanos here with Steve Hartman, and we
are coming to you live from the Tyrek dot com
studios and it's time.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
For our new favorite segment. It's so good.

Speaker 6 (37:30):
Okay, let's kick things off with a little basketball question here, Steve,
when was the first ever slam dunk contest?

Speaker 2 (37:38):
The first ever slam dunk contest was in the ABA
in nineteen seventy six.

Speaker 5 (37:46):
Ah, that is correct. Do you know who won it?

Speaker 2 (37:49):
That would be doctor j David Thompson or one or
the other. It's one of the other dates.

Speaker 5 (37:53):
Julia serving one Jay. Now do you know when the
first NBA when the merger happened.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
The merger happened the next year.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
Okay, so when was the first NBA Slam dunk contest?

Speaker 2 (38:05):
That one I don't seem to know. Let's see, I
would say the next year.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
No, it took a break.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
It was in nineteen eighty four, and wow, yeah it
took a break when they merged.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
Was that Dominique Wilkins.

Speaker 5 (38:18):
No, Larry nance d answered that.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
That's one of those where I answered way too yes,
because I know Dominique won it, but I knew the
Larry nance Yes, the original Larry that was still pretty
Rada Clemson.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
Yes, all right, we're gonna move on to baseball here.
Who gave up two Grand Slams in the same inning?

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Okay, so Channel Park gave up two Grand slams in
the same inning to Fernando Tatis Senior.

Speaker 5 (38:44):
That is correct, not Fernando Tattoos Junior.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
You're just still do when you think about a record
that will never be broken. Yeah, yeah, No one's ever
going to give up three Grand slams in an inning,
So we couldn't guarantee that one.

Speaker 6 (38:55):
From a listener, Please ask Steve this, who was the
only person to win the Heisman Trophy and play in
the Final.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
Four and play on the Final four. That would be
Terry Baker of Oregon State nineteen sixty.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
Reaction. So he led Oregon State, along with Mel Counts
to the final four nineteen sixty three.

Speaker 5 (39:16):
Listener tail Scar Newman at Newman forty four. Thank you
for that.

Speaker 6 (39:20):
He knew the answer, So he is your daddy, all right, Patrick,
all right, I got one.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
And it is not a five part process here, it's one.
It's just one.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Steve what Hall of fame legendary NBA coach was also
drafted in the NFL as well? Okay, an NBA Hall
of Fame coach, Yes, was drafted in the NFL. Yes, man,
I'll even give you the position too. Was drafted as
a wide receiver in your receiver. So he said he

(39:52):
was a he was a Hall of fame NBA coach. Oh, legendary, Yes,
I will pat Riley, Yes, God's no way.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
The wide receiver helped him. I think, yeah, yeah, a
little bit.

Speaker 11 (40:10):
I had.

Speaker 7 (40:10):
I just had.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
I had to step through the brain there for again.

Speaker 5 (40:14):
So annoying mister, and Nick Koppe has one.

Speaker 9 (40:17):
All right, we're gonna do some tennis here. Between twenty
six and twenty thirteen, Roger Fetter, Rofen Nadal Novak Djokovic
and Andy Murray accounted for thirty one of the thirty
two Grand Slam titles the height of the Big Four era.
Who's the only other player to win a Slam during
that time.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Between six and thirteen?

Speaker 3 (40:38):
Yes, the Big.

Speaker 9 (40:39):
Four accounted for thirty one of thirty.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Two between six and thirteen. Yep, so I'm I'm Varenka's out,
So the only other person would be.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
Oh God, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 9 (40:56):
Well Arenka was in the mid later, yes, and Roddick
was before that, so it's like who would have been
old on?

Speaker 7 (41:05):
Hold on.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Ten seconds?

Speaker 7 (41:07):
I have to don't I can't.

Speaker 6 (41:09):
I just talk, God, have.

Speaker 7 (41:11):
It, give me out.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
Joe Hanson, Hanson dope, rolling along here on this beautiful Saturday,
Fox Sports Saturday broadcasting live from the ti rat dot
com studios.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
Tyrack dot com.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
We're gonna help get you there, and I'm matched selection,
fast free shipping, free road ads for protection, over ten
thousand recommended installers, tire rack dot com, the way tire
buying should be.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
So we are right up against the clock. After Nick
gave it his question.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
And right before we went to break, I answered incorrectly,
and then Nick said that he'd actually said the answer,
which I didn't hear, and you came into studio and
I was frantically going through the rolodex in my head.
I did come up with the answer, del Potrow. You did, yes, ten,
So I mean I heard it because we got the

(42:02):
delay in the hallway here, So I did. I did
say it over the air, and you can hear it,
But so I don't. Monsie might have to make.

Speaker 7 (42:10):
A ruling on this one.

Speaker 5 (42:11):
I don't think we heard you because I don't.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
I don't take credit because I got the wrong.

Speaker 12 (42:16):
You can hear him through the delay and through the
like we are Fox Sports, you can hear it. But
you guys kind of talked at the same time. So
but and you know, I don't hear what any this one.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
Yeah. See, this is the thing people know that I'm
not listening to them.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
I'm so notorious, so true.

Speaker 6 (42:34):
And you could have said it because I didn't know
what you were saying. That didn't sound like a name
to me because I never heard that name in my life.

Speaker 5 (42:40):
Yes, so I didn't hear it either.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
But I'm not taking any credit for that. Not so again,
that means that technically Nick or my daddy.

Speaker 5 (42:48):
Yes, technically Nick gets.

Speaker 2 (42:50):
It, which I owe him a Father's day yet, but
then you owe me anchors man. They're always daddy, And
by the way, they're not hard super hard questions. It
was just that specific timeline is where I had to
sort of go through my head.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
No poetry probably.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
Would have won more, but he got hurt and he
exactly injured ever since. Big server, Big Serve, a big guy.
So all right, good stuff, guys, excellent stuff. I'm rolling
along there, by the way, Speaking of golf, right now,
Bryson Shambo has a two shot lead over Rory McElroy.
But what's happening here, oberg just I believe got a

(43:28):
triple bogee? Now this is not necessarily the worst thing here,
no knock yet. He just had a triple bogee on
number thirteen to fall all the way back to two
under par. Matthew Pavon the Frenchman is that foreigner. But
think about this, guys. If we have a Bryson de
Shambo Rory McElroy final pairing tomorrow, that'd be exciting. Two

(43:53):
former US Open champions. Of course, Rory has not won
any majors in ten years.

Speaker 5 (43:58):
That's ridiculous really.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Considering how many times he's in contention, so should be
a pretty good day.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
That's a tradition. Of course.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
US Open always wraps up on Father's Day. And there
was the most famous you know, we're talking about Father's
Day and at Pinehurst, and of course it was in
nineteen ninety nine. Think about what almost happened. We now
know the pain Stewart of course won and then tragically
was killed just months later in that plane situation. But

(44:29):
Phil Mickelson and his wife were expecting their first child,
and literally he had said that if she went into labor,
he would walk out on the US Open.

Speaker 3 (44:41):
At that point, Phil had never won a major. He
was one shot.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Behind Payne Stewart coming to the final hole and if
they tie, those were the days when they had an
eighteen hole playoff the next day. So when Payne Stewart
hit the putt that won it, he grabbed Phil and
told him that being a dad's going to be the
greatest thing that's ever happened to you. His wife gave

(45:06):
birth the next day. Now would he have walked out?
Isn't that unbelievable? Would he have walked out of a
playoff because the next day would have been an eighteen
hole playoff for the US Open Championship. By the way,
Phil Mickelson won all the majors except the US Open.
He ended up runner up six times. I'm telling you

(45:30):
right now what could have been, what would have been,
especially if he had decided, you know what, I'm not
going to do. I'm not going to go against my word.
I'm going to be with my wife for the birth
of my first child, and I'm going to forfeit a playoff.
And then of course he's never actually won the US Open.

Speaker 12 (45:48):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
Yeah, well at.

Speaker 6 (45:50):
Least, I mean, it's still a I feel like a
positive thing why he didn't win it, right Like, it
still is a good ending to the store in a
sense because you became a father. But that's weird, that's creepy.
And yeah, you wouldn't. He would have had to walk
away from another playoffs to an eighteen hole playoff that takes.

Speaker 2 (46:12):
Out lot it's a full day, whole day.

Speaker 5 (46:14):
No, you would have had to. So it's a good
thing he didn't. He didn't have Sophie's choice in that moment.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
But in the end, he never won the US Open,
run und six times and never won the US Open.
All right, So we got some exciting stuff going on there.
I feel we're always remiss if we don't mention somehow
Caitlin Clark, I mean, if we don't do it.

Speaker 6 (46:34):
Then we're not doing our job because everyone else is
talking about Oh well that's.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
That's That's exactly my point. Now she continues to struggle. Yeah,
and you know, we're talking about the controversy about her
not being in the Olympics and the idea because I've
been talking.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
To a couple of people about this.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
And they say, when it comes to the Olympic Games,
you can't think in terms of marketability. You have to
earn your way onto the team. And the question is
is she one of the twelve best US women's players
right now And the answer is no, she's not. She's

(47:18):
the most famous by leap years. And they said it's
one thing to market the WNBA. I get that, you know,
you need to have exposure and you know the idea
that players are playing rough. But when it comes to
making the Olympic team, because you know, I'm very adamant,

(47:38):
like this is a blown opportunity to showcase her on
the biggest stage at the Olympics. And I say, the
biggest stage By the way, I saw that they were
making the point. And I did not know this because
I asked this question last time. How many people can
remember ever watching a single women's basketball game at the Olympics.

Speaker 5 (47:58):
Yeah, no, not one.

Speaker 3 (48:00):
And yet they're saying that they have unbelievable numbers, like
ten million people were watching four years ago, and I'm thinking,
who were these ten million people that were watching?

Speaker 7 (48:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (48:10):
And by the way, how does that work? Because usually
in the summer, it's all on tape, you know, because
we're talking about act like three in the morning four
actually three years ago. It was three years because of
the you know, it was in Tokyo. It wasn't live.
You're watching taped highlights and maybe it was included in
the package where you bought it and you get credit
for it. But what do you say about the argument

(48:31):
that when it comes to the Olympics you have to
throw away marketability and simply reward those that are most deserving.

Speaker 6 (48:40):
I mean, I don't agree, especially in today's day and age.
I understand that some people may feel that way. But
we have had rookies beyond Olympic teams. How did they
earn it because of what they did in college, And
if you're telling me that her breaking records and what
she did in college wasn't enough that she didn't earn
it versus other rookies that have not done what she did,

(49:02):
which was break records and they made it. That's that's
what I don't understand. And the best twelve women I
don't know if the best twelve women are on the roster.
Like we talked about Diana Tarassi and her numbers, and
it's like, is she there out of respect? Probably because
she has been on the team for so many years,
But the argument that we're sending the best twelve, I

(49:23):
don't know if that's true. And maybe it's because we
know that they're gonna win the goal because they are
so dominant where it's I do not agree, And I
think she should have been on the roster, and I
think it would have helped just not even just the WNBA,
but it just would have helped women's sports in general.

Speaker 5 (49:42):
Because everybody is talking about Caitlin Clark. She is all
over the place. Why not put her on the team.
I don't agree that.

Speaker 6 (49:49):
I yeah, you want to tell me that it's not
your responsibility to market, but then it was also the story.

Speaker 5 (49:54):
When it initially came out, Remember.

Speaker 6 (49:56):
It was like they said, well, they're worried about the
fan base because she's not gonna play much. That is
such a this is such bs that that was the reason.
The first reason that came out was like, we were
worried about.

Speaker 5 (50:07):
Her fan base.

Speaker 6 (50:08):
That is such BS. Since when do you care about
the fan base. You're telling me you can't worry about marketing,
but you're worried about the fan base.

Speaker 8 (50:15):
No.

Speaker 6 (50:15):
No, there's a disconnect here, And it's just hard to
imagine that somebody on that team wasn't specifically saying Caitlin's
on the team.

Speaker 5 (50:24):
I'm not on the team.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
The cell on Kaitlyn Clark was her Steph Curry like
ability to throw up threes. Right, Yeah, there are thirty
four players in the WNBA that have enough three point
attempts to qualify for three point Percentagekay, thirty four players
have enough attempts in terms of her three point shooting percentage.

(50:49):
Of those thirty four, she's thirtieth.

Speaker 5 (50:53):
That's not good.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
I mean, that's that's your cell, right. I Mean, when
Steph Curry was shooting threes, he was always among the
very top in terms of his percentage made. She's near
the bottom in percentage. She's attempted the third most, and
she's thirtieth in percentage, which worries me long term for her.

(51:14):
In other words, there's only so long that you can
hang on to interest. You've got to deliver something. In
college on the biggest stage, she just came up with
huge games, and we'd be watching these games and it
would be unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (51:31):
We have not seen that at allmb is of it.
There's been glimpses of it.

Speaker 6 (51:39):
I understand what you're saying, that this can't go on
for so long, because look at despite the bad numbers,
people are still watching her and the Indiana fever, which
is really impressive. But you make a point that it's
like this isn't gonna last that long if she continues
to have these below average the below expectation of what
we thought she was gonna do everything we saw in college.

(52:02):
But like Diana Trossi said, there was gonna be an
adjustment period, and I just watching the fever, I don't
know if they're playing to her strengths.

Speaker 7 (52:11):
Well.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
This last game that they won against Atlanta, her teammates
Boston scored twenty seven points. Mitchell scored twenty four. She
had seven points. Yeah, yeah, seven points. She was one
for six from three point land. Yeah, And I'm like
and after no, I mean, she looks beyond ordinary.

Speaker 6 (52:33):
And after they had like a couple of days off,
she had that big game and I really thought it
was gonna be the beginning.

Speaker 3 (52:38):
Of a Yeah, but that was against the windless mystics.

Speaker 5 (52:40):
Okay, the mystics just one another one.

Speaker 2 (52:45):
But I mean, she's she's not that good.

Speaker 7 (52:48):
She's she is.

Speaker 5 (52:49):
I think she's just sudjusting and there's so much going
on around her.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
But she's not getting better.

Speaker 5 (52:54):
She's not. But is it her?

Speaker 2 (52:55):
Is it that they're I'm saying, maybe she's fatigued. She
might be fitting right from a we'll college season all
the way to the championship game, not a long layoff,
and then boom you're double into the w n B. A.
But game is getting course, it's not getting bad.

Speaker 5 (53:09):
For it's getting worse by a life's James bad.

Speaker 3 (53:13):
This was in a win.

Speaker 5 (53:14):
Yeah, and so they want but yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:17):
All right, so you're still convinced she's all that.

Speaker 5 (53:20):
I am just not turned away yet from him.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
I'm off, all right, Your least favorite team, my favorite
team in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (53:29):
They got a they got a big pr problem.

Speaker 2 (53:31):
In fact, let's put it this way, We're gonna expose
what was obvious in what was a very erroneous major
sports story. This is Fox Sports Saturday, Steve Hartman and
Manzi Bolanos Here Fox Sports Saturday. We're live from the
tire rack dot Com studios. Don't forget after the short

(53:52):
podcast is going up. If you missed any of today's show,
be sure to check out the podcast. Just search Fox
Sports Radio wherever you gets podcast. Asking sure to also follow,
rate and review the podcast. Again, just search Fox Sports
Radio wherever you get your podcast. You'll see the show posted.
Right after we get off the air. Mark Medina, our
NBA insider, is going to be joining us coming up
here at the bottom of the hour. And before we

(54:14):
get to the Lakers situation, I do want to get
your thought on this big, big story. Seventy two year
old Bill Belichick has a twenty four year old girlfriend. Yeah, okay,
so apparently and he first what's even more alarming is
that he actually met her three years ago when she
was still in college. All right, so the idea, do

(54:35):
you get nauseous. I mean, I'm trying to figure this out.
So yeah, from her stamp from the twenty four year
old stampo former cheerleader, they met, I guess we're on
a cruise. I don't know where they met somewhere three
years ago, but now apparently they're an item. Seventy two
and twenty four Belichick? Does he seem like the kind

(54:55):
of guy think back when you were twenty four years
like a fun guy?

Speaker 5 (55:03):
Yeah, you know. I Hey, if if she can do it,
more power to her.

Speaker 6 (55:09):
She obviously knows what comes with dating Bill Belichick. If
she can get past the age, why not?

Speaker 5 (55:18):
Age is nothing but a number.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
Really, So another ways, let's let's go back to when
you were twenty four last year.

Speaker 5 (55:24):
Absolutely yes, exactly.

Speaker 2 (55:26):
And could you imagine dating a seventy two.

Speaker 5 (55:29):
Years Absolutely not?

Speaker 3 (55:30):
How would your how would your father feel about that?

Speaker 5 (55:33):
Absolutely not? Absolutely? I could not do it. I could not.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
So as a twenty four year old, if you were
to bring Bill Belichick in as your new boyfriend, your
dad would have said.

Speaker 5 (55:43):
Dad would he would have said, can what he would
have told me?

Speaker 11 (55:48):
He was?

Speaker 5 (55:49):
Who's his grandpa? That's what he would have said. Why
did you bring grandpa. Who is Grandpa's is No, I
couldn't do it now, and I'm not twenty four. I
I could not do it if you can get past
asked it obviously, it's hard for me to sit here
and tell.

Speaker 3 (56:02):
Me think they were like, what do they have in common?

Speaker 7 (56:05):
What do you think?

Speaker 5 (56:06):
I think they have money. I think she likes money
and he has it.

Speaker 2 (56:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (56:10):
I think she maybe likes presents and he probably has that.
And that's what they haven't called it for them, And
if it works for them, it works for them.

Speaker 5 (56:18):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
We wish them all the best.

Speaker 5 (56:20):
Yes, I hope you get like a boat out of it.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
I don't know, I just I mean well, I mean
thing of Bob Kraft right after his wife died, he
had that young girlfriend.

Speaker 5 (56:32):
For a long time.

Speaker 6 (56:33):
Listen, and he's not married, so it's not like he's
busting to Donald Sterling and having a mistress on the side.

Speaker 5 (56:39):
Whatever makes If it works for you, it works for you.

Speaker 7 (56:43):
All right.

Speaker 3 (56:43):
So this was a big story brewing last Saturday.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
When we were here. We were sort of waiting on
the decision to be made by Dan Hurley, the Yukon coach,
whether or not he was going to accept the offer
to become the coach of the Lakers, and I said,
from the very get go with this story. Look, Adrian
Warsonowski has been recognized as the ultimate NBA insider for
a long long time, and I certainly have a lot

(57:07):
of respect for the work he's done over the years.
But I also know this, when you work for that
Four Letter Operation, and I've known a lot of people
have worked for them that are deemed insiders, you need
to deliver and deliver. I mean you need to deliver
stories that no one else has and Wold have been

(57:28):
beaten by a few outlets on some big NBA stories.
So not only did he break this story, but he
broke it in a manner where it seemed like it
was a done deal. Yes, Like the Lakers are about
to make him one hundred million dollar plus deal and
he's going to be in the next coach of the Lakers.
The Four Letter Operation continue to talk about all their shows,

(57:50):
like how's this going to work? How's Dan gonna be
with Lebron? You know, is he gonna help develop Bronni
James as a player when they draft him?

Speaker 3 (57:57):
They like it was a done deal.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
And then you find out that Herley hadn't even met
with the Lakers yet. So he meets with him and
then there's like this delay, and as soon as there
was the delay, you're like, Okay, he's not taking this job,
and then when it broke Monday that he's like no.
And then to double down on it was is that
it was not only a report that he was gonna

(58:21):
be in a prime position to take the Laker job,
but he's.

Speaker 3 (58:24):
Been there number one guy all along.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
It's been him number and you're like, well, if he's
the number one guy all all along the Yukon season
ended months ago, you could have hired him the day
after you fired Darvin Ham if he was your guy
all along. This story was a joke from the beginning,
and the Lakers look awful.

Speaker 5 (58:47):
Yes, as for this story, Clipper Fan, the dumpster.

Speaker 6 (58:50):
Fire that was this situation for the Lakers was hilarious,
especially because JJ Reddick. Remember they asked him and he
made it seem before this story he said, I'm not
going to talk about this until after the finals, like
made it seem like he was really going to take
We all thought Mark Medinas told us, no, it looks
like everyone legitimately thought JJ Reddick was going to be

(59:12):
the next Lakers coach, and then when this story broke,
I literally was like, is this ESPN trying to fight
the athletic Like is this more of what it's about?
And it seems that way, but it doesn't make the
Lakers look good in any way, shape or form.

Speaker 5 (59:25):
Who's running your who's running your organization?

Speaker 3 (59:28):
Well, it's obvious his name is Lebron James.

Speaker 2 (59:31):
Anyone that anyone that doesn't buy into the fact that
Lebron James is calling every single shot for the Lakers
is delusional.

Speaker 5 (59:44):
I look at.

Speaker 3 (59:46):
Bronni James is going to be drafted by the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
Despite the fact that he shot thirty five percent from
the field, twenty five percent from the three point line,
sixty five percent from the free throw line, averaged less
than five points a game, playing less than twenty minutes
a game. He going to be drafted by the Lakers. Yeah,
And when he is drafted, Lebron is going to announce
that he's going to extend his contract with the Lakers,
of course, and then they're going to announce that his

(01:00:10):
podcast partner JJ Reddick will be the coach of the team,
everything will be checked off the list for Lebron James
the Puppetmaster.

Speaker 5 (01:00:20):
Yes is getting everything into place. Yes, getting everything into place.

Speaker 6 (01:00:25):
But it does really just bring a lot of questions
if you're a Laker fan as to why you are
letting Lebron run your organization like this, because people are
laughing at you.

Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
Right now because they're making money.

Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
The fact of the matter is, as miserable as the
Lakers have been since the passing of doctor Buss, they
are worth a lot more money now than they were
when he passed away.

Speaker 5 (01:00:49):
I'm glad you said that.

Speaker 6 (01:00:50):
It does seem like they're not worried or they're not
thinking about a championship, but they're just thinking about money
still coming in.

Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
That's really what it seems like.

Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Right, which is how most organizations are operated.

Speaker 6 (01:01:03):
Which is sad because as a Laker fan, you that's
not the expectation I think that Laker fans have based
on their history.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
Now this is not to say that maybe you know,
JJ Reddick is another pat Riley. He might be the
right guy, right place, right time, right message, whatever it
might be, but I ALWASO have said, Well, they apparently
Reddick understands that he was in their first chock. This
is what made this so bad was the fact that
the Dan Hurley story was he was their guy from

(01:01:33):
day one, right, like, this is the guy even though
nobody had the story. Now nobody had this except for
WOJ who threw it out there. And I mean, it's
just beyond embarrassing.

Speaker 6 (01:01:47):
So is there a chance that JJ Reddick is like,
you know what, screw you guys, you're making me look extraining.

Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
No.

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
No, the reason he's holding off he's working right now.

Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
But right they're not gonna the league is not going
to let them pull him off the bra Cats during
the middle of the NBA Finals. As soon as the
NBA Finals are over, you can bet the bank but
that JJ Reddick will be named the new head coach
of the Lakers.

Speaker 5 (01:02:08):
If I'm JJ, I would be like, you know what,
I now have to think about things.

Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
You're still gone.

Speaker 5 (01:02:15):
If your number one choice was dinner early, I gotta
think about things. What does he get?

Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
Why would JJ Reddick be on anyone's list to be
a head coach. He's never been a coach of anything.

Speaker 5 (01:02:24):
You're right, you are one hundred percent right. But I
think now it's like because the conversation already happened. Like
we are already talking about JJ Reddick being a head coach.

Speaker 6 (01:02:33):
It's like other teams are now willing to maybe consider
it because they're like, well, it wasn't our idea with
somebody else's idea.

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
But now all right, well, I'm glad we're talking about
this because on the other side, Mark Mendin is going
to be joining us and we'll we'll get his thoughts
on this. Plus this NBA Finals that is still breathing
right now. But first let's find out what is trending.
Nick Cope is back with us right now.

Speaker 9 (01:02:54):
Nick Bryson Deshamba is the best goal for this weekend
at Pinehurst, number two, that's what's going on. He has
grabbed firm command of this tournament. He has had eight under.
He who had one of the best performances all day
on the course. He's at four under for his round,
eight under for the tournament, four shots clear of the
field behind him. Matthew Pavaughn and Roy McRoy tied for

(01:03:18):
second at four under. As they're getting late there, McElroy's
on eighteen. Pavon is in the clubhouse. Deshambo just started
sixteen so we could get that Deshambo McElroy final pairing,
but it might be a tough hell for McElroy to
climb with the lead that Deshambo has built. In the NFL,
reports a Bengals receiver T Higgins has signed his franchise

(01:03:41):
tag and he is expected to report to training camp
next month. Reports say a long term deal for Higgins, though,
is a long shot. Game four, the Stanley Cup Final
coming up at about thirty minutes or so, the Florida
Panthers trying to sweep the Oilers. If they do so,
Florida would become the first team to sweep the finals
since the Red Wings did it to the Capitol in
nineteen ninety eight. In baseball, some finals of note, the

(01:04:03):
Brewers beat the Reds three to one, Braves were ninety
two winners over the Rays, Blue Jays shut out the
Guardians five nothing, and the Orioles beat the Phillies six
to two plus.

Speaker 7 (01:04:13):
Two Oh Clapbard right field, This one's not coming back.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
Hits on the Utah Street.

Speaker 5 (01:04:20):
Holy cow, what a hummer.

Speaker 7 (01:04:23):
Anthony Suntander sit that.

Speaker 5 (01:04:26):
One nearly to Philly.

Speaker 9 (01:04:28):
Eric signed on WBAL Orioles Radio network again six to
two the final. Do have a couple games going on
regional action on Fox. Yankees and Red Sox at Fenway,
and the Rangers and the Mariners in Seattle. College World
Series Kentucky over NC State five to four and ten innings,
third straight walkoff in Omaha, first time in seventy seven

(01:04:49):
years that that has happened at the College World Series.
Steve Monci back to you.

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
All right, Nick, thank you very much. Once again. We're
live from the Tairak dot com studios. All right, let's
check in with our Fox Sports Radio MBA insider. You
can hear him at least ten times a day right
here on Fox Sports Radio, which is a good thing
because we certainly have plenty to talk about. Our dear friend,
Mark Medina is join us once again, Mark. Before we
get to the NBA Finals. Moncei and I were just

(01:05:16):
talking about the aftermath of this disastrous, laughable Dan Hurley
a rejection to the Lakers organization. And I've known woj
a long time. You've known Woges a long time. Sometimes
you're under a lot of pressure, there's a lot of
competition to break stories, and he got egg all over
his face on this one.

Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
Did you ever believe for a second.

Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
That Dan Hurley because it was reported that not only
was he interested in the job, but he was the
lakers number one choice from the get go.

Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
Did you buy into this story, Mark.

Speaker 12 (01:05:51):
Steve?

Speaker 11 (01:05:51):
What's fascinating about this story is that there were so
many gray areas that led me to believe certain parts,
and that led me to be skeptical. I'll tell you
what I was optimistic about. It was real that the
Lakers had interest in him. It was real that, yeah,
they're going to have conversations, they're going to make an offer.
There was actual internal optimism within the Lakers organization. But

(01:06:16):
what I didn't understand is why not have this full
court press from the very beginning? If that's the case.
What really happened was, you know, we didn't see this
emerge until weeks into the process. Now, the Lakers will
tell you, well, there were informal discussions at the beginning,
but and you know, there was kind of back and forth,

(01:06:36):
and it wasn't until the news got out where it
was actually a breakthrough that Okay, now they're actually going
to have a final pitch meeting and this is something
seriously he's considering. But it was just weird all across
the board, because if I had to rank the Lakers
like misgivings or errors and misses, I wouldn't ranked that

(01:06:59):
Dan Hurley rejection that high only because you know, he
had a good thing going at Yukon. He's already handsomely paid.
There's a lot of other more egregious errors, like how
they mishandled tight lose potential hiring, the Russell Westbrook trade,
allowing Alex Carus to go. But I think with that

(01:07:20):
being said, there's still a lot of question marks of
what they're actually going to find in a head coach,
What are the qualities, how do they address the final
years of Lebron James, how they address the final years
of the roster. So, yeah, there's just so much unpacking here, Steve.
Is another thing unpacked is you would think that it's

(01:07:40):
ideal that they get a head coach before the NBA Draft.
That's not a foregone conclusion. It might not happen until
after the draft, and that could create other challenges with.

Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
Just not having the.

Speaker 11 (01:07:55):
Coaching that both head coach and candidate as far as
assystem go before actually happy to make roster decisions. For
taying to the draft.

Speaker 5 (01:08:05):
Hi, Mark, thanks for joining us, Thanks for having me
all the time, anytime you want.

Speaker 8 (01:08:11):
So.

Speaker 6 (01:08:11):
Obviously this seems messy. Just the order of events seems messy.
Now does this make it messy with JJ Reddick?

Speaker 11 (01:08:21):
That remains to be seen because I think on one hand, uh,
JJ Reddick or frankly any other coaching candidate shouldn't be
taken up then if excuse me over the idea that
they aren't the favored candidate. But I think what they
should have concern about is just the process that this

(01:08:42):
organization and as well as what they do with addressing
all the roster problems themselves. You know, there's a lot
of holes in this roster. You have Lebron James to
find father time, but at some point it seems a
never that Father Time's gonna knock down a few punches.

(01:09:04):
That's more severe. Anthony Davis. He's had surprisingly a mostly
durable season this past year, but you can't think that
that's sustainable. And then the rest of the supporting cast.
While the roster depth and continuity played a part in
them gaining into the Western Conference Finals the previous seasons

(01:09:24):
against the Nuggets, their lack of depth led to their
first round playoff exit, and so I don't know what
the direct solutions are because they might have three first
round picks to trade on Draft night, but I don't
know how much that's actually going to yield in a trade.
And so when you account for that, they have a

(01:09:46):
lot of holes to fill and not enough moves to
address those holes.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
All right, let's talk about what's going on in the
NBA Finals, I mean Game four. When you have a
thirty eight point blow out on an NBA Finals game,
two things have to happen. One, you have to have
a team to win, which Dallas was, and then you
have to have the other team mail it in, which
is exactly what the Celtics did apparently. I mean, you know,
I mean you look at these numbers for Jayalen Brown.
I mean it was a mailing job. Like, you know,

(01:10:11):
we want to win it on our home court. Remember,
the Celtics have only won one championship since nineteen eighty six,
so I mean, this is a big deal. If the
Celtics are going to win this championship, they want to
do it on their home court. But boy, if any
team should be aware of that, it should be the Celtics.
On what happened a year ago in that Eastern Conference
Finals where they were down three to zero, came back,

(01:10:33):
won three in a row, forced the Game seven at home,
and laid an egg and lost that game. They better
be careful here because if they lose Game five at home,
look out, yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:10:44):
And look, I don't think that the Mavericks are going
to make NBA history. I think while I do give
them credit for their bounce back play with Luca actually
playing defense, not complaining to the officials, him having additional
help on top of Luca's offensive usual real usual offensive brilliance,
it also required Boston not to play its best. Now,

(01:11:05):
this is the script we've seen all season with the Celtics,
that when they don't feel challenged, they don't play hard.
When they do feel challenged, they do. And so I
suspect that we're going to see the better version of
the Boston Celtics in Game five. But I don't think
that guarantees anything, because there's question marks in regards to
whether Chriss Porzingis is going to play, and I think

(01:11:27):
that Dallas will play a lot more similar to the
way they played in Game four than in Game three.
But when you weigh all those things. I think that's
only good enough to extend the series the six games.
I don't think it's going to go anything beyond that,
And I certainly don't think that the Celtics are going
to make history for the wrong reasons. I think, you know,

(01:11:48):
with apologies, the Laker fans are going to make history
for the right reasons of now, you know, being in
the leader for most NBA titles in league history once
they get number eighteen.

Speaker 6 (01:11:57):
All right, let's hypothetically say the Celtics wrap things up
on Monday, they win it.

Speaker 5 (01:12:02):
Who's the finals MVP?

Speaker 11 (01:12:04):
Mark Oh, That is a good question. I think it's
actually going to go to Drew Holliday, really, because he
has been that ultimate two way player that's dependable, and
when you look at Jason Tatum, his numbers weren't always efficient.
I do give him credit that he's embraced being a playmaker,
but I think if you're going to look at him objectively,
Drew Holliday has been the most consistent player from both

(01:12:27):
an offensive end defensive standpoint. Now, that doesn't mean that
every voter is going to think that way, but I
think that there are enough voters that will and I
would certainly make the argument that he would be most deservant.

Speaker 6 (01:12:39):
Follow up on that, Jason Tatum doesn't win the Finals MVP,
does it affect his legacy?

Speaker 5 (01:12:45):
His name, what he You know, everybody has been waiting
for him to come up and be the man.

Speaker 11 (01:12:52):
Well, I don't think Finals MVP will affect his legacy.
What I think would affect his legacy is the number
of champions and ships he wins or loses. And so
if the Celtics lose against Dallas, on one hand, you think, okay,
now they're going to have to make all these changes
because how could you become the first team ever to

(01:13:13):
squander a three to zero series lead. But even though
they've been together for a while, Jason Tatum and JOm
Brown still are in their prime. But I would go
back to if you're the first team that ever squanders
that kind of lead, there's a lot of problems, and
that part of it would be your star talent, and
I think that that would be a huge thing to

(01:13:33):
his legacy. That want to be the final verdict on
his legacy, because I think there are still opportunities for
him to win championships, but you can't squander this opportunity now,
because the expectation is it's not about just him winning
one title, it's about winning multiple titles.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
I used to say the thing about Steph Curry. I mean,
Nigodolla won the first one, and of course Durant won
the next two. But then finally Steph had that Finals
MVP to add his resume and his legacy legacy. Smart
Mendina would never do what Wach did, ever, blindly throw
out his story hoping that it's going to be the

(01:14:09):
breaking story of the year that just didn't work out
well for him, just didn't work out well.

Speaker 11 (01:14:15):
David Monsa, all I'm going to try to do is
just give you the honest opinions on I think the
best Saturday show with you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
Well, that's very nice of you, Mark, and you do
the great job. We appreciate We'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 11 (01:14:25):
Thanks, Mike, I appreciate you.

Speaker 7 (01:14:27):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
That's up, Mark Medina.

Speaker 2 (01:14:29):
There by the way, an update on the US soap
and Bryson Deshamba had a four shot lead.

Speaker 3 (01:14:34):
He just double Bogiat sixteen.

Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Now he has a two shot lead, which is good
news for Rory McElroy, Patrick Cantley and the Frenchmen were
all two shots back.

Speaker 3 (01:14:46):
All right, coming there.

Speaker 5 (01:14:47):
But on the other day, why is French the French
French language so.

Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
Harsh, Matthew Polon, It's like it's like German. I learned
that because I don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:14:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
That's what I do. I I always love all the
especially in the NHL. A lot of French names, you know,
all Jean Beval used to have some of the great
names of the past. And then now we have Pavon, who,
by the way, will be in the final pairing with
Deshamba unless Dishambo double Bogie is the next couple of holes.

(01:15:20):
All right, we'll continue on. How much longer will these
NBA finals last? We'll have the answer. This is Fox
Sports Saturday.

Speaker 6 (01:15:30):
Oh, this is a Jem Steve Baby Bash, Frankie Jo.

Speaker 5 (01:15:40):
This is an oldie but a goodie.

Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
This is an oldie yeah like oh, I think, yeah,
but a goodie but a goodie. Steve Harvin and Montsi
Belana is here Fox Sports Saturday to thank our crew today.

Speaker 3 (01:15:56):
Nick Cope, he's stump daddy today.

Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
You got me.

Speaker 3 (01:16:01):
I came up with the answer. I ran out of
time to really think about it.

Speaker 5 (01:16:04):
You would have gotten it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
Yeah, your role a little more time was close.

Speaker 5 (01:16:07):
Yes, but that's how we have to stump you.

Speaker 6 (01:16:10):
We can't give you all the time, because then you'll
get it all Mary mac Yes, with the jams.

Speaker 12 (01:16:16):
I found out it's actually two thousand and three. The
song came out when I was born.

Speaker 7 (01:16:19):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
Thank you for I'm sorry. I started a kid. My
sons they were born in ninety six and ninety eight.
My daughter was born in one. Wow, So you were
born in three? Yeah oh three? Yeah oh three. So
you didn't get to experience the twentieth century.

Speaker 8 (01:16:37):
I did it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
I just missed it.

Speaker 5 (01:16:40):
You missed on what was that the world was going
to end?

Speaker 7 (01:16:42):
Two k?

Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
Yeah, that night, the December thirty first, nineteen ninety nine.

Speaker 12 (01:16:45):
It's crazy we had twenty twelve. I grew up thinking
the world was going to end in twenty twelve. That's
when the movie came out.

Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
That's true.

Speaker 5 (01:16:52):
Yeah, yeah, yes, I forgot about that movie.

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
I think we're safe for a while. What do you think,
Patrick uh who? Thank you so much for giving me
a question that was not five right.

Speaker 3 (01:17:05):
I think I'm gonna stick with that going forward a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
I think it might.

Speaker 5 (01:17:07):
It was a great question.

Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Thank you to not know.

Speaker 5 (01:17:10):
I would never also have guests, pat Riley. That such
a good question.

Speaker 7 (01:17:14):
Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
Yeah, that was excellent. Okay, once again, we're live from
the tire rack dot Com Studios. Bryceon de Shambo got
a birdie on seventeen, but he just hit a shot
on eighteen that went into Jurassic Park. I don't even
know this. This thing is way out there. Yeah, so
I'm not sure where he's going to go from there,

(01:17:36):
but it looks like Bryce into Shambo again will be
the leader, uh going into the final round of the
US Open.

Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
All right, so again.

Speaker 5 (01:17:43):
Monday Moncey, Monday Lunis.

Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
Look, every time I.

Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
Make a prediction, it's wrong. I mean just I mean
my but I mean, let's let's let's let's think about
this again. I mean, Dallas has got to come away.
I mean, when you're down three games to nothing, you
have nothing to love, nothing, no one's expecting, they all expected.
And then you go out there and again when you
look at the Celtics numbers from a game four, I
mean they were just ridiculous. I mean everybody played bad.

Speaker 5 (01:18:12):
Everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
I mean Jason Tatum, Jayleen Brown, everybody, and you have
Dallas with that care free attitude. I mean, Jason Kidd.
When you have a coach that was a Hall of
Fame player, been there, done that, played as long as
he did in the NBA, there's nothing that Jason Kidd

(01:18:33):
has not seen except for, of course, the team coming
back from a three zero deficit. But he's got to
convey to his team, Look, we're going to go up
against it. TD Garden is going to be rocking. They're
looking for their you know, first championship since two thousand
and eight. They're expecting that they're going to have a
coronation come Monday night.

Speaker 5 (01:18:55):
Right right to stop streamers. We got to stop them.

Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
We got to stop them, pressures on them totally to
deliver for their fans.

Speaker 3 (01:19:04):
Yeah, so what do you think are we going to
see at least a game six?

Speaker 5 (01:19:08):
I do the Celtics are the better team. I think
that we can agree to that.

Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
They have more quality, they.

Speaker 6 (01:19:14):
Have more quality players, and they're the better team. Not
that the MAVs can't pull this off, but they're just
gonna go in without any pressure, any expectation, And I
think Jason Kidd needs to tell them, guys, if Christopsporzingis
is not playing, we need to go through the middle.
Go through our big guys in the middle and let
them dish the ball out. But go through the middle,

(01:19:35):
which I don't think Dallas did in game one, two three,
you know what I mean. And it's like, take advantage
of that, make move the ball. I sow, ball is
not the way to go. They were doing that game
two and three. We cannot do that if you want
to win the game. I think the MAVs win it.
I don't think the MAVs win the NBA title.

Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
Well, I mentioned earlier that I've been down on Luca
in this series. That being said, we've seen what he's
done earlier in the playoffs. Well, all of a sudden
he got on a roll of triple doubles and just
took over games. And when you're in a must win situation,
you're Star or stars Kyrie, they've got to become a

(01:20:19):
big So I would think you want to get Luca
fully engaged early on the get go, but get him.

Speaker 6 (01:20:28):
Well no, but but that's sort of his game, right,
But don't start that. Maybe end the game that way,
But you can't start with Iso ball. You've got to
make the Celtics move.

Speaker 1 (01:20:39):
You have to.

Speaker 5 (01:20:42):
You don't like it, No I, no I do.

Speaker 3 (01:20:45):
I look at whatever gets.

Speaker 5 (01:20:47):
Whatever gets the job.

Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
Done as a Celtics, as a lifelong Celtic hater. Can
you imagine if the MAVs were the first team, If
we're sitting here next Saturday talking about a game seven ridiculous?

Speaker 11 (01:20:58):
No, I would love that.

Speaker 5 (01:20:59):
I would love that. It would be so it would
be so good.

Speaker 6 (01:21:02):
And I think there's a chance, I think there's a
legit chance that the maps push things.

Speaker 2 (01:21:07):
You just think one game at a time, one game
at a time, and you take it right there. All right,
much more coming up. Don't go anywhere, keep it here.
