a way where the precipitation slides to the sides. That's
why you don't see big puddles on the fifty yard line. Instead,
they're generally behind the bench when you're seeing one of
those big rainy games, right. Training systems they have draining systems, right,
you know, and there's never there's very rarely ever snow

on the yard lines on the Ted Jonhne twenty. Maybe
there's something in between, but every five yard just cleared out.
So I thought that there was just some level of
science that they had gotten too, that they were just
melting the snow underneath the concrete, like concrete was snow repelling.

twelve when my cousin's and my older brother.

We used to make money.

That game is over now because now here's that's this
is what it is now. Is now everybody if you
live in the right neighborhood, everybody's got their lawn service.
And if you live in a state like Michigan not
only have lawn service, but at lawn service flips over

Everybody to know it was not simply a leverage play. Guys,
that wasn't what it was, all right, you know, you know,
if you believe that I got.

Hurley had accepted six or seventy million, you'd still be

Like, how do you do it three times in a row?

I don't buy it. It's just ridiculous to me. There
was no leverage. Plus, I don't think that because he
took twenty million less. All right, So let's not act
like million dollars don't mean nothing. I don't give a
damn who you are. Twenty million dollars mean two billionaires.
Two dollars means something. Okay, so he left twenty million,
it's the same. I'm looking at a report right now

from the Register Citizen dot com and some of the
other papers up there in the Yukon and Connecticut area.
The heart for paper up there to finalizing a six
year deal for fifty million. The deal was here for
six for seventy. Leverage is such an easy to be
honest with you, Martin, It's hard to believe any of
these stories. I think this is the perfect story for
people to be able to express their opinion of why

they didn't he didn't take the job, and why the
lakers kind of his name came out of nowhere, and
what's all the reason is? Because, yeah, you could say,
is leverage that's an easy cop out. Now you got
Shams and Wojo kind of going back and forth.

This was never a deal, this was never gonna happen.

And he's connected to the early family that I want
to stay away from all of that because I don't
know what to believe. I can only just look at
the facts. The facts are, you would be coming to
a franchise. Number one, I think you should have took
the job. Let's start there. You don't tell the Yankees.

You don't tell the Lakers.

When they come and offer you the job, you take
the job. That's number one. Number two. In the sports business,
we always want to get to the highest level. All
of us here is all started, some of us at
the lowest levels you possibly could in this business, right
or wrong. Right, At some point, you want to be
able to produce the big show. You want to engineer
the biggest shows. You want to host the biggest shows.

You want to sit next to the bigger names. You
want to fill in on those days that you want
to keep going up.

If you have that type of competitive spirit, there is
no oh no, I'm cool on Saturdays.

The suits know where Vj's goals are. Where I'm trying
to go because I'm in this business for reasons. So
that's why Number one, I understand there could be a
list of guys that I got a list of guys
that did pretty okay that came from college to the pro.
So it's not everyone fails, but you take the job. Now,
what's the reason why he did it? Is where I
went with? Okay, why are you telling the Lakers?

I want to hear Jeanie and Linka and all can
he coach?

We know this man is a pure basketball coach.

Now, I've been very harsh on him. I think challenging
fans as a college coach looks.

Very frat boyish and it feels like you missed your
frat boy Tom and you're trying to relive it now
as a grown ass man coaching a two time national
championship te a coach should not be special. When you
got state troopers around you and you're telling waven fans
to come on, Come on, my man, that's too immature
for you. Your last name is Hurley. Couldn't stand your brother,
but he was a baller. Your dad's a coach. Okay,

it's in your blood. Act like it, be a professional.
So why didn't you take this job he wants to coach?
Can you, guys honestly look me in the face and
everybody in the face and say, as this team and
the energy in the vibe is curly constructed, could Dan
Hurley truly come in here and coach this Laker team.
That means holding everybody accountable. That means being having everybody's attention,

not having people roll their eyes, not having people stare off,
not having people standing near the huddle. You saw the
clip that came out right when he was a tight
mind huddle, you know, and.

Somebody of course people put out there.

Wow, can't wait to see what this looks like with
ad or Lebron or d Loo when they're not having
a good game. When he acts this way.

That stuff's all valid because we know this is a
player league now one hundred percent incompletely. The owners still own,
but players can get gms fired, players get marked.

Can you remember a time where so many coaches are
really player fired within the last fifteen to any fifteen
year stretch of your life of watching the NBA.

It's crazy nowadays.

If a player has to say one thing, Frank Vogel,
one year in Phoenix, one year in Phoenix gone to
me is very much like where the NFL is, where
you have a handful of guys who have established themselves
into a place, and there was more of them in
years past than the NFL. They've established themselves where their
track record states, we will listen to you you over

anybody else, right, Like I think that steph uh uh,
Steve Kerr in Golden State, for example, that's just gonna
be his job for a long time now. Like Greg Popovitch,
that's gonna be his job until he doesn't want it
exactly right, But there's only he can't get Papo fired.
But there's only a handful of guys that that's true
for in both sports. Everybody else is getting hired and fired, right,

and then you have you end up with your guy
who's like in the beginning of that cycle, right with
like the Frank Vogels who end up not making it
another year in Phoenix or you're a guy like uh,
Tom Thibodeau, who he's he's in the cycle. He's not
so far along to where he can just he's gonna
be the coach of the Knicks, right, But you have
to establish because here's the thing. I think the coach

I think he could, he could. I say this, I'm
not I'm not reporting. It would take job.

It would take Brunton to be to complaint. But that's
what I'm saying. The only player, none of them other
dudes can get him down.

Like I think that, Uh, I don't think he's that

Right when we look at the coaches in the NBA now,

coaches in the NFL, now, you gotta have a level
of partnership and buy in from your star players, or
it's a rap. It's a riggedy, riggedy rap for your
whole coaching situation there, and especially for the super powerful guys,
super powerful players, if you're one of those Mount Rushmore
type guys of this era, if you're if you're a

top ten guy, like I don't think that Kawhi Leonard
and Paul George could get Tyler Lufi.

is does Paul George get a MAX somewhere else?

And then that will determine how close he is.

That is the question that will but that will determine
how close he is with the Clippers deal, because if
he can't, I imagine I got he will move a
lot closer to that Clipper day they have their line

player that has an established tenure like he wouldn't have
worked in Cleveland. Why because if you're hiring your next

got to be in the interviews. But you gotta know
he's signing off on this decision. They're like, yeah, you're
gonna be a disaster. You're gonna be disastered because thirty
five games into the into the season, they're gonna do
