Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Let's go stinking,
Let's go, big boy, let's go. This is supposed to
be a massive news night in the NBA. We're off
to a bit of a slow start, but it's still
compelling as we come to you live from the tire
rack dot Com studios. Tire rack dot Com will help
(00:23):
you get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free
road hazard protection, and over ten thousand or recommended installers.
Tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be. Okay,
do you want to get with the news that has
already happened or do you want to go with the
numeral one?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
A't your Just just one quick note on what's going
on with all the free agents in the slow start.
It just feels like the same guys are free agents
every year. It's the same ones opting out and hey,
look up a free agent.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Give me money, give me money.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Let me see how much more money I can get money, money, money, money.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Doing to be literal Chris here, I don't remember Paul
George being a free agent last year.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, but it just seems like he's always opting in
or opting out or something. It's like every year that
he's doing something like that.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
I do remember Klay Thompson being a free agent last year. Okay,
I don't remember DeAndre may No, but I get I listen,
I'm joking. I get your point because it's and if
it's not that they're a free agent, Arnie, it's that
question surrounding their future always seemed to dominate, right. It
takes away a lot of the joy of what they
(01:31):
do on the court because there's constantly some sort of
drama about what's going on off of it or their
future home. I mean, we still don't know if Kevin
Durant's going to be a son next year, right, right?
And that would be almost Chris Paul Why at least
a third different team in three years, Paul George, whom
By the way, the Clippers still aren't finished completing the
(01:54):
trade to the Thunder. They still owe I was looking
at this right before we started. They still Oklahoma City
two more picks. I think one's actually a true pick
and one's a pick swap. So I mean, and that's
already over. I mean, do can we get some patience
here a little bit and have teams stick together a
little bit longer? Before either A we blow it all
(02:15):
up or B someone's got to go somewhere else to
try to be successful. Can we have a little patience.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Chris, that they're getting They get so much money that
a team literally has to make the decision right now
that we go another two or three more years at
fifty sixty million a year, enough is enough. And that's
why these guys overtire. I mean, my goodness, they get
a little boatload of money. You never had this type
of money. It's it's absolutely insane. Matter of fact, you know, Chris,
(02:43):
we pick on the WNBA saying, you know, the girls
like what are we gonna get our money and all that.
We're like, well, when you make money and all that,
maybe these guys are getting overpaid. Compared to the television
ratings that we have that we see for the NBA playoffs.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Well, the guys are getting the NBA players are getting
overpaid because the ratings aren't high enough, right right, I mean,
every single sports athlete is overpaid. If you want to
really get into the nuts and bolts of it, I mean,
come on, but I mean the NBA continues to make
bookoo bucks regardless of this narrative that their ratings are dying,
(03:21):
so it's not like they're because if they were losing money,
this isn't a charity. The WNBA was a charity for
the longest time. I don't think it's still making money.
It's just starting. It's got a star player that people watch.
I hate to be that guy. But this sudden idea
that we all love the NBA. No, we love Caitlin Clark.
So let's see if this continues. In the meantime, Arnie,
(03:42):
you act like the NBA isn't making any money just
because they've had a few bad playoff ratings. TV wise,
they just got a massive TV deal that involves what
is it? Is it? It's not Netflix? Is it Prime Video?
It involves Prime that's giving them a bunch of money, man,
and they're still getting paid. What do you think?
Speaker 2 (03:58):
A lot of it has to go back to what
we have the cod and the ratings were. You know,
it's like the last three four years have not been
the greatest for the NBA, whether the matchups or the
COVID years or if you go like that. But you're
one hundred percent right. I can't argue they continue to
get the big money for the television rights, which is
absolutely incredible. I don't know how they continue to get
money like that hand over fizz, but they get it.
(04:20):
The players continue to enjoy the benefits of that, so
so be it.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
I constantly see these stories about, oh, the NBA is dying, boh,
and nobody's watching the NBA, nobody cares about the NBA,
And then all of a sudden you see a TV
contract where you're like, what I mean, I know that
it's not really done yet, right, It isn't always kind
of fighting about if it's done or not in the
future of Inside the NBA or the Post Game Show
(04:47):
with Charles Barkley. But they're still going to make more
money than their two point six billion dollar TV deal
they had last time around, Arnie, and it's still the
second richest deal for the overall domestic rights behind the NFL.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
You know.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
It's also when you see the articles like the fever
or Outdroy the Pacers, you know, and you see all
that stuff, you see the narratives on that stuff that
make you go, Wow, they get more people for the
WNBA game than they do the NBA game. Is It's crazy?
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Well, I will say this much. We've got stories going
on with NBA player movement that really are not going
to be what was an example of anything that's going
south numbers wise, It's not gonna be an example of
anyone getting less money. Interesting Mark and Aaron Torres right before,
(05:36):
I spent a lot of time on the Klay Thompson situation,
right because Mark's there, and he's in San Francisco, He's
in the Bay Areas, so obviously it's near and dear
and close to his heart. But I almost feel like
this is one of those stories on he where we've
known mom and dad are getting a divorce for a
long time now. The Golden State Warriors gave Draymond Green
(05:57):
significantly more money than they offered Klay Thompson. It was
over then, it was it was all, well, you know,
Golden State's gonna offer him more money than what he's
gonna make. I don't care they gave Draymond Green more
money than they're gonna give him. I'd be pissed too
if I was him. And the funny thing about this
breakup he might not end up making more money, but
I get to sense Klay Thompson's gonna go somewhere a
(06:17):
week and win. And I don't know if Golden State's
in a position where they can win, but I know
the Warriors fans have got to feel some kind of
way because it's just gonna seem odd with that big three,
if you will, of Draymond, Steph and Klay Thompson. And
the first one that moves on is Klay Thompson. Come on, man,
I had Draymond Green for the win on that one
years ago, with the problems that he caused, but they
(06:40):
committed to him, they gave him the money. And now
Klay Thompson's a guy that's gonna be out looking for
a new team, and I think he's gonna have a
lot of suitors.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Well, you're well, first of all, you're right about that.
I'm a little surprised that they would give Drebid Green
after all he's done, you know, with you know, problems
off the court, problems off the court and getting suspended.
I thought he would have been the first one out, though.
I got to be honest, I don't think I would
have given Klay Thompson all that money either.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Well he's not he's not got paid yet. But I
hear what you're saying, right.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I mean he wants the full money in the full
years in the contract that if he gets the max,
I just don't see it. I mean, he's been through
some horrible injuries, has been paid while he's rehabbing. I
just I just don't think I can give him that
type of money. I have to really think twice. Now,
if you get him on a discout of deal, you know,
that's a whole nother story, and you know it depends
(07:27):
on what he wants to podion up. But it's not
like the money's coming out of our pocket. But I
don't think i'd give him a MAX deal when it's
all said and done.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Corrist No, no, no, no, he's not going to get
a max deal. He's not going to get anywhere close
to it. But it's just it's odd, right because he
had been such a part of so many championship runs.
Game six, Clay is something that's going to be a
heartache and a heartbreak for thunder fans and a lot
of Spurs fans and fans out. But when it comes
to Golden State, it was the difference and it was
(07:55):
the reason why they were able to have so much
success in combin age with the greatness of staff and
the coaching of Steve Kerr. But there's a part of
me that kind of feels some sort of way today
that it's officially over. It's like you knew they were
gonna break up for a while. I'm not even a
Golden State fan, aren't he? But it's just gonna be
odd to see Stephen Draymond out there without Klay Thompson,
and even more so to see Clay in another uniform.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Chris, when a dragged done this song, and I think
we said this on Friday when we filled on in,
I said, when the drags on this long, you know
that Golden State really has no interest on bringing him
on back.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Otherwise they would have got it done.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Now, if Clay ends up with the Lakers, and I
don't care so much whatever he gets paid, how many years,
whatever it is, let's forget about that for a second.
If he ends up with the Lakers, that's a whole
nother story. I may run out and bet Lakers versus
Nicks in the NBA Championship. Now that that has a
good belt to it, that has a good ring to it.
Now I know it's gonna be tough for the Lakers
(08:47):
side of it. But that would really help the Lakers
out when you're talking about hitting three point shots and
giving him the outside shooting. It's just as long as
he stays healthy, he's that'd be a big part.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
For Isn't it the weirdest thing to say? In an
NBA team struggled shooting the basketball, that's the Lakers. They
struggled shooting the basketball. We'll see if Klay Thompson ends
up there. Here is the moves as we come to
you live from the tyrack dot Com studios on a
Sunday night into a Monday morning. I got a bone
to pick with you on your Roman numer rundown as well.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
I don't know why I got did a pretty good
job today.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
You missed the biggest story in sports.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
But I did add Roman numeral thirteen, and I don't
know if you got that, so.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
I no, I didn't get it. So obviously Patrick and
Mary well, Mary couldn't care less. She doesn't even know
the NBA is having a free agent POLLUSA tonight.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
First off, that's wrong, I think right now.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Alight Patrick is keeping tabs on it, and obviously the
saga is all over with the breaking news. But here
is what we know as of this minute, Naji Marshall
has just signed a deal with the Dallas Mavericks three year,
twenty seven million, the former Pelican. Apparently his addition won't
keep the Mavericks out of the Klay Thompson sweep steak,
but it means that they'll be moving on from Derek Jones.
(10:03):
Junior Mason Plumbley assigned with the Suns tonight, Chris Paul
is on his way to the Spurs. Contavious Caldwell Pope
has ink to deal with the Magic. James harden Is
announced he's going to stay in Los Angeles. Yonas Valentunas
is a three year, thirty million to the Wizards. Somehow,
some way that is going to work into the Jonte
Murray trade. I don't know how, but it's the NBA
(10:25):
and it's free agency, and I think along the way
they just make stuff up. But of course, the two
biggest stories Paul George, the Clippers released the statement they're
moving on. We talked a lot about Klay Thompson. Looks
like he's not coming back. Now we just wait, Arnie
and see if the Paul George seventy six ers move
gets it announced. Tonight or if it's tomorrow, and if
(10:45):
we get a little bit more action over the next
few hours, because in all fairness, that's it. I mean,
I just that's it. That's all that's happened so far.
No tomorrow Rosan news, no DeAndre eight news. You know,
Kate Cunningham is going to get a MAX extension from
the Detroit Pistons off his rookie deal. But little bit
of a slow start, Arnie. But let's start with the
big news of today, and that is Paul George. Despite
(11:07):
all those picks, despite losing Shay Gilgess Alexander, the Clippers
aren't fighting to try to keep Paul George around. They
didn't off from his fourth year and it looks like
he's gonna be available in free agency.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Why do you think that they were okay letting him go?
What do you think about it was like, you know,
it can take a hike, because you know, behind closed doors,
they're like, we're not giving him the money, We're tired
of this. And he played a lot of games too.
They all three played a lot of games. So I'm wondering,
you know, what was the reason behind that too? Going
to Philadelphia obviously great move for Philadelphia. But I think
(11:37):
we were really missing the point here. It's Joelle Embiid
that misses a bunch of games. I think about the
last seven or eight years, he's missed a boatload his
own career, He's missed a boatload of games. So I mean,
if this guy last year he played about in thirty
nine games he had the two years before that, he
was in the sixties, but he had a couple of
fifty one game seasons. He he just can't stay healthy.
(11:59):
And he ever gonna play seventy plus of the season,
You'll be lucky to get sixty out of him, you know.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
So, according to Woes Tonight, Paul George is planning to
take a free agent visit with the with the Philadelphia
seventy six ers and the Orlando Magic.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah, there's a way to I have like all the
money in the world, and I haven't figured that out yet.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
I guess it's that's what happens when you tank for
a while. But this doesn't put a cap because, like
I said, the Thunders still have a twenty twenty eight. Yeah,
they have like a twenty twenty eight and a twenty
twenty five pick. Swap to go in this deal, which
is wild involving Paul Jordan's George and is straight. So
(12:41):
as we sit here right now, the Thunder in exchange
for Paul George got Shay Gilgess, Alexander who was in
the MVP race, Danilo Gallinari, who had a pretty good
run with a Thunder. The Clipper is twenty twenty two
first round pick which turned into jadab who's I mean,
he's a potential All pro the Thunder. I don't know
(13:01):
what's up with to do. They took twelfth in the
draft this year, but they've got a first round pick
in twenty twenty. Oh it's twenty twenty six. Excuse me.
They picked Trey Mann in twenty twenty one, who's had
a good run in the league. They've had a pick swap.
I mean, Arnie, we're looking total at seven picks involved
in this, Shay Gilgess, Alexander, an MVP candidate, Gallinari who
(13:22):
gave the Thunder a good year. I mean, this has
got to be the worst trade of all time based
on just how little Paul George provided for the Clippers.
And I'm sorry, I don't want to hear David Aldridge's
take tonight you see this. Let me say this about
the Clippers. They didn't get a championship out of their
pairing of Kawhi and Paul George, but they shouldn't be
clowned for the pursuit. They went after two of the
(13:44):
top ten players in the NBA and got them. Baller move.
It just didn't work out. No, it's not a baller move.
It was the worst trade ever made, Arnie. Did they
even win a playoff series?
Speaker 2 (13:57):
And you know what, you could even take it a
step further as they cleared up so much money for
you guys that you may steal Hartenstein from us whatever
right in Oklahoma City, like the number one team that's
going after him.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
I mean the only reason.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
You have all that money was because of that, So
I mean you can even add that or if you
don't get him, it's the next guy you're going to get.
So it maybe like eight and one when it's all said, Une,
but you're right it was. It was absolutely horrible. It
didn't work out. Philadelphia is gonna go ahead and get
the benefit of it, but they're gonna have to pay
him a boatload of money. And as for a baller
move for the Clippers. I have to give them a
(14:32):
little bit of credit. I'm not gonna say, hey, they're
you know, they're not trying to win. Obviously, Bomber is like, hey,
I want to do whatever I can. And he thought
that was the best move out there. So he was
willing to give up and do whatever he was, you know,
give up to just win. But right it didn't work out.
And now he looks now he's got egg on his face.
He's got to clean it all up right now.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
I mean, I don't understand that take. How could anyone
sit there today? He's like, hey, man, a good try. No,
it was a terrible try. You traded an MVP candidate.
That was the throwing in this draft. And you don't
what was my number that I had from our show
on Friday night. I don't even know when the Clippers
control their next first round pick. Twenty thirty, Arnie, Wow,
(15:16):
twenty thirty is when the Clippers have control of their
next first round pick. And you're gonna tell me that
this was some sort of ball or move. Get out
of here with that garbage. Getting Kawhi was the good
part of this. And then, to be fair, I mean
Kawhi hasn't even been a tenth of the player that
he was in Los Angeles, No, with the Toronto Raptors.
(15:36):
So I mean, I don't know, is this some sort
of attempt by David Aldridge to kiss up to the Clippers,
because I mean, there's an elite button on that tweet
that you could get it out of there right away
if you give up a bunch of really good talented
pieces and what you get in return doesn't mean I mean,
(15:56):
Paul George was never even a candidate in the MVP
ballanting was he? I mean, was he ever? Even did
they even get out of the second round of the
playoffs if they played in like a Western Conference finals
or got to an NBA finals and came up short.
That's where you're like, oh, dude, they swung for the fences.
I think. If I'm I'm a Clippers fan tonight, I'm
sure Ben Mallard's working on his spin right now. I'm bent, man,
(16:18):
I think. And to give up on it like this,
everyon was like, well, it's okay to cut your losses
and just move on. What the hell are we talking about.
You're moving into a new building next year. You gotta
sell tickets. In a very completely The Clippers have got
some names out there. I mean, they have to pay hard.
What are they giving him seventy million for the two years?
Is that what he's getting. Yeah, it's gotta put some
butts in seats. Watch James Harden go out there and
(16:42):
not be able to get up and down the court.
Let me buy my tickets. What else you got for
the clips? You played a lot of games this year?
He wasn't a lot probably realized. Is that a must
buy ticket for you to go watch James Harden play
right now?
Speaker 2 (16:53):
No, but hit me kawhi. They're they're not good enough.
They're banking on them when play. He played a lot
of games last year.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Diddy, Yeah he did actually, So yeah, you're just gonna
go spin off. Tell me more about the greatness of
the Clippers, Arnie. I'd love to hear it right now.
What's all the great things that they have done.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
That great history, the fact that you know, the years
of you know, Danny Manny being the coach and stuff
like that, all that great stuff.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Manny actually coached the Clippers. Thought here right away, right away, Arnie,
Mister nobody writes until last year, Paul George couldn't be
depended on to be healthy. Of course, given how he
only missed eight games last year, he'd be an upgrade
over Joelle Embiid. But can you blame George for no
playoff success for the Clippers? They've been a clown show before, Bomber.
(17:39):
I agree. Maybe you even look at this and say, hey,
if you're Paul George, there's a certain sense of man.
They gave up a lot to come get me, so
I should go ahead and take this player option. No,
they've been a clown show every since Kawhi You want
to say he's playing more so you're good with the
amount of ball that Kawhi Leonard's playing. Are you throwing
up during this segment again? Are you engaged in? Yes,
(18:00):
I'm throwing up.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Okay, I'm getting sick over again just what I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
When we come back to the Tirack dot Com studios,
let's dive into a couple of the other potential moves
right now. Nothing new on Paul George, accept that he's
not coming back to the Clippers. Nothing new on Klay
Thompson except that he's not coming back to Golden State.
I would say the biggest story of the night is
that Chris Paul is on his way to Spurs so far,
and James Harden will stay in La with the Clippers.
(18:27):
We're all over tonight here on Fox Sports Radio. Fox

wherever you get your podcast from.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
All Right, it's aarny in playing on a Fox Sports
Sunday Big night to the National Basketball Association. I don't
even now we've got aprons and tears, And I feel
like every so often we change these terms whenever it
comes to NBA financials, and it's just to confuse me, Arnie.
(19:45):
I feel like every single time I get some sort
of understanding of what the salary cap looks like, and
then they just changed the whole thing on me. Are
you following this at all? You can know?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Because it's just way over my head. I mean, you
have to be like a financial genius to go ahead
and figure out how much money you got under the cap.
But you can give everybody how you could move money around.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
You need like plenty.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Of financial guys to do Funny.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
I mean, people say it with such confidence. I'm like,
has this been around for a long time? Oh yeah,
you know the aprons? We've been talking about it for years.
I'm like, I'm good for you, good for talking about it,
My goodness, because I'm all about facts. Let me point
out the Clippers did get out of the second round
once with Paul George once. That was in the twenty
(20:33):
twenty twenty one season. They went to the conference finals
got beat by the Suns in six, which which is
wild to think about. Do you know what the number
one seed in the West was in the twenty twenty
twenty twenty one season. It was the Utah Jazz.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Oh jeez, that was three years ago. I guess that
that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
You never would have guessed that.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
No.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
But again, so with that cleared up for everything they
gave up to go get Paul George on he after
five years, you get three playoff series wins and you're
gonna have the media what's the term carrying the water
whatever it is for the Steve Balmer on this disaster
(21:13):
of a deal.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
But at least he went and made a move to
go ahead and get a high tier player, Chris. That's
what the I think the and usually I don't agree
with a lot of the media out there. But at
least he made the move to go ahead, and you
thought that that would be a good move, just like
Philadelphia's taking on Paul George and his salary right now,
if is it done, well, you know pretty much?
Speaker 1 (21:34):
I thought so. Well. I'm just saying we're in that
time where it's breaking new. Are you dropping a wojebomb
on everyone?
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Right?
Speaker 2 (21:40):
No ARNI bomb yet not yet? Oh okay, I would
love it if I could do an laraty bomb. Well,
you know, I did an arty bomb once.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
I broke.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
I broke a major trade with the Clippers and the Cavaliers.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Andre, Are you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Right? You gotta get Andre Miller? Is that who the
guard was?
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Remember him? You've got to work on. What's it called
for people that have bad memories? There's a pill they
take now they're supposed to keep them more alert. A joke.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
There's a joke there, but I'm gonna I'm just gonna
let that go. Yeah, So I broke that when I
was doing local in Los Angeles and it was a Friday,
and the station in Cleveland wanted me on, and that
why I was on hold. They had on the coach
of the Cavaliers.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
You probably don't even remember who Lucas.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Was it Luke?
Speaker 1 (22:38):
I thinks yet.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Yeah, I think that's what it was. And John's like,
I don't know where these Bologney reports come from, these
fake reports. He's not getting traded, and that's that. And
they finish up the interview and they put me on
and they go, what do you got to say to that?
I go, he really doesn't know that his guy got traded.
I go, that's amazing.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
I got it.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
From somebody from the Clipper front office that that gave
me the inside scoop, and I just went with it.
I didn't I didn't double check my sources or anything
I did.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Back then.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
You didn't have to do that, Chris, you don't have
to double.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I think you always had to do it.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
I trusted the guy that told me, you know, I
usually didn't tell me stuff like that, and sure enough
it turned out to be true.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
So I I broke that story that you broke the
story of a guy who you can't remember his name
getting traded to Cleveland and you can't remember anyone that
he was traded for from Cleveland to the Clippers exactly.
Wasn't that big of a deal.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Wasn't that major of a trade though, Andre Miller used
to be a big.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Name, I know, right, you do you remember who he
got traded for. You don't even remember who it was.
It was Darius Miles and Harold Jamison. Okay, when you
talk about your breaking news, there you go there a
long time ago.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Please, it got me some black area.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
But I mean, if you're claiming that you broke a
story in that you had a woe Partey Bob was
any already at least no the guy's name that you
broke the story on.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
You think he bog knows every story he broke. He
memorizes it well.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
I think if it's just claiming one that he would
at least remember the one that he had a woes.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
By the next one I break, I'll remember, I prompt,
good good luck. I do kind of break other stuff
with me, you know, I'm mister football all right.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
When we come back to the Tiraq dot com studios.
As we've mentioned, it's been a bit of a slow
night tonight in the start of NBA free agency, but
that hasn't stopped the speculation. What's next for Klay Thompson
and Paul George. We'll dive into it coming up in minutes,
but first, the man who actually remembers the facts and
the stats, Steve de Sager, joins just to get us
caught up on a busy night, not just in the NBA,
(24:39):
but in Major League Baseball too. What's up?
Speaker 6 (24:41):
Steve Arney breaks a lot of things. It's just usually
the glasses in the kitchen.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
I think the Sager was there with me that night
I broke, and who knows.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
By the way, I'm glad you talked about Clipper's history.
This is a franchise that started before they moved west
back in nineteen seventy. They had never won a so
and round series until three years.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Ago, fifty plus year history of the program.
Speaker 6 (25:06):
So that's the only time before or since in the
Clippers long history they've even won a second round series. Meanwhile,
the Clippers of World Soccer Mexico out at Copa America.
They needed a win to advance in Arizona. Tonight, Mexico
ties Ecuador zero zero in front of sixty two thousand fans.
So it'll be Ecuador against Argentina July fourth in a
(25:28):
Thursday quarterfinal. Friday, Venezuela three and zero against Canada. Venezuela
beat last place Jamaica three nothing tonight. The US could
be out tomorrow. The Americans play Monday night on FS one.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
Sure they will, all guaranteed they do. That's we've heard
the show, Hardy.
Speaker 7 (25:47):
We never do.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
See they're sitting a lot of players, don't you.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
Know that that's just like one of those Barkley guarantees.
Gero t A tie does not do the US any good.
Likely because they're going to need to beat in all reality,
need to beat first place Uruguay to advance. The reason
is the US and Panama are tied for second place
in this group, each with one win and one loss
so far, but Panama gets to play last place Bolivia
(26:12):
on Monday in Orlando. Bolivia has lost fourteen straight Copa
America matches dating back to twenty fifteen. James Harden will
re sign with the Clippers two years, seventy million dollars,
including a player option. Paul George opted out of his contract.
George was due to talk to Philadelphia tonight. Philly is
signing Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon. Golden State waived Chris
(26:34):
Paul and he intends to sign with the Spurs. The
Wizards get center Jonas Fallen Schunis, and Orlando agreed to
a deal with Contavious Caldwell Pope. The NBA free agency
negotiating windows started today. Detroit plans to give Cad Cunningham
a five year max rookie extension, and the Pistons new
head coach will be JB. Bickerstaff, who has just been
(26:55):
let go by Cleveland. NASCAR win in overtime tonight at
Nashville for Joey Legato. Sidney McLoughlin.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
Laveron broke the world.
Speaker 6 (27:03):
Record again in the four hundred meter hurdles to end
the US Olympic Track Trials. So Mowne Biles won the
gymnastics all around at the US Trials. Sonny Lee was second,
Jordan Chiles third. Also on the team for this summer,
Jade Carey and Hesley Rivera was selected. Cam Davis won
the PGA event in Detroit. Baseball tonight, it was Texas
ending a six game losing streak with an eleven to
(27:25):
two victory at Baltimore. Wyatt Langford hit for the Cycleie
at four hits four RBIs Houston in eleven innings beat
the Mets in New York ten to five. The Houston
Astros are over the five hundred mark for the first
time this year forty two and forty one. Here we
are at just about exactly the halfway point for most teams.
Colorado in fourteen innings beat the White Sox in Chicago,
(27:46):
five to four. The Rockies had lost five straight on
the road. They were eleven and thirty one. The loss
to Michael Soroka, oh to eight for the White Sox
in Chicago's offense with runners in scoring position went one
for eighteen. Philadelphia came back to beat Miami seven six.
Yankees won eight one at Toronto. Another homer for Aaron Judge,
(28:07):
two run shot in the first We finished June. And
the man has thirty one home runs.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
The most in Spade Ruth is a Yankee. How about that.
I don't know why you're not making a big enough
deal about this.
Speaker 6 (28:17):
It is a big deal. Is a big deal, and
he's over eighty RB eyes already back to.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
You and well, so that what ninety one?
Speaker 7 (28:24):
I don't think that's going to be touched.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Okay, well thanks on that, mister statistician.
Speaker 7 (28:28):
Well, I don't think that's going to be touched.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
God. What, maybe we're waiting until it gets a little
bit later in the season to make a bigger deal
about it, because I kind of felt the same way.
I wasn't aware of it until I started to get
into the numbers for the show on Friday night and
I was like, WHOA, that's a lot of home runs.
So maybe maybe as a season progresses, maybe thirty one? Wow,
(28:51):
pretty impressive. Impressive? Do you realize that we are going
back now five years for one of the greatest woes
bombs of all time that happened in the middle of
the night. That was when Paul George got traded to
the Los Angeles Clippers. Now h five years later, Arnie,
we were watching Paul George try to decide who his
(29:13):
next team is going to be. It's just it's it's
it's wild. Is there a scenario in your mind where,
based on everything that the Clippers gave up to go
get Paul George, is there a scenario where he kind
of owed it to them to opt in and give
it another try and give it another run. Or is
(29:34):
this just hey, not personal, it's business. Don't care what
you gave up to go get me. I want to
go try to win a title.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
No, you can't do that. It's never personal. It's business.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
And who knows if.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
They really wanted them back, if they really wanted them back.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Sure doesn't seem like they're acting like you do. That's
a good point.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Did That's why I'm saying, you know, I get when
we're folded Friday, I said, all these deals that have
not gotten done, and mostly were talking about Clay, but
even some of the other deals too, if they wanted
to get done, if the team wanted to keep these
guys who had the option, these team options, they would say, Hey,
as soon as we can get it done, we're gonna
(30:11):
take care of you. We're getting it done. This is
the year's this is the money. They're not doing that.
You could tell that Quay wasn't coming back, and you
could tell. And I don't think that the Clippers really
want him back, to be honest with you, I think
they want to go in a different directions. I don't
ask me which direction that is, but I think they
wanted to go in a different direction.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Is there a right hook coming from somewhere that we
don't see right now, Like if you're just in surveying
the landscape with how slow they start to free agency
is in the NBA, And I don't know if these
this new apron is the reason why or exactly what
might Maybe it's just there's not a lot I really
get free agents out there right now. There's just not
(30:50):
a lot of guys that you look at and say,
I want to pay him a lot of money. But
is there a potential move that we're not thinking about
right now? I know that This is speculation at its best,
but you do have some teams that look like they're
swinging for the fences right now. Right Orlando's been very busy.
The thunder have been apparently very busy behind the scenes,
(31:13):
and they kind of act and then they work in
the shadows. There's not a lot of information that leaks
out of there. Are we missing something that's right under
our nose that's gonna end up coming in here and
kind of set in the NBA free agent to start
a free agency on fire? Or is this just gonna
be a slow year?
Speaker 2 (31:30):
I think this is gonna be a slow year now.
I was looking to see what Maxi was gonna do,
but it looked like he's going to get a deal
or he's gonna stay with Philadelphia. I don't know if
that's official official, but somewhat official. I'm all confused about
that anyway, but it looks like he's going to stay it.
I really like him. I wouldn't a hundred percent sure
that it was going to work out with him and
(31:50):
him staying in Philadelphia, so I wanted to see what
he was going to do with Obviously, I wanted to
see what Hartenstein's gonna do it. You know, obviously I
hear Oklahoma City, and we'll see if he ends up
staying with the Knicks. I think that's a pretty big
free agent out there. And I did question whether Harden
was gonna opt it on the two year seventy million.
I thought maybe you would opt out and go to
another team. But that's a lot of dough so I
(32:12):
should have realized he was gonna end up state anyway.
And I believe Clay's gould end up with the Lakers.
I don't know how much it's gonna be or you know,
you know how many years it's gonna be. No shock there.
I just think he's gonna end up with the Lakers
when it's all said done. Chris, you know, are any
when we come back.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
I've got a couple of NFL notes I want to hit,
and we're off and rolling with the exes and the
tweets on the show tonight that we'll get to. But
typically you and I wouldn't have had a show on Friday.
This would be our first chance to talk about the draft,
and then of course the Michael Bridges trade. But I mean,
even I felt like the resonation from that kind of
the the shock waves are still being felt. I mean,
(32:50):
that's a lot to give up for a guy that
fits right in with what the Knicks need and what
they want to do. And in a week where, let's
face it, the biggest story in the NBA it has
been about Lebron James Son getting taken fifty fifth overall
and then Kyle Philpowski's girlfriend. I mean, it's been a week, boys,
but Arnie, it's still right now. Gosh, what are we
(33:13):
close to midnight on the East Coast and start NBA
free agencies off and rolling. But your Nicks so far
are still the team that have won free agency, have
won the offseason with the movie to Go Get Bridges.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
I think, yeah, I feel good. I've been feeling extremely
confident going into the next year. I think we're the
team to beat out of the East.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
It should be defending champs.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
No, no, stop it, please, I mean, we're we're better
because one, you know, they it's so hard to repeat, Okay,
that's the first thing. Two, you know, I don't know
if Brown and Tatum are gonna have that drive like
they put into this year. They wanted that so bad,
you know what I mean, Like the Knicks will have
next year because they'll want that first championship so bad.
(33:55):
So I don't think they're gonna have that drive. And
the Knicks are a better team now because of the editions. Well,
that's that's why I'm the NBA expert.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
That's right. You are just the Knicks fan, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
No, no, no, no, this is really Look with them
getting bridges, let's be honest, that's why they were the
second favorite to go ahead and win the NBA Championship,
tied with Denver.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
I believe so well, I mean that's incorrect.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Is that correct?
Speaker 1 (34:23):
The Celtics are plus three hundred, the Nuggets are plus
seven to fifty, and the Knicks were plus seven fifty. Oh,
the Knicks are up to seven fifty. Then are they
were tied with Denver? You're telling me that the trade
for bridges moved the Knicks from plus fifteen hundred to
plus seven to fifty.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Is the one you're looking at right now? Don't have
the Knicks and plus seven fifty.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
It's got him at plus fifteen hundred.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
No, there was one that was plus seven fifteen, and
I actually had them tied with Denver. We could ask
Todd on that. I'm pretty sure though, that's what I saw.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Well, go take that big if you're so confident right now,
go take that big number. Let's go. If they want
to give me.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Fifteen the one, I'll take their money. Bug, I'll go
to the back tomorrow, let's go nine to fifties. So, wow,
they didn't move it pretty much. I thought it was
seven to fifty. I did see one seven fifty. But
I'm moving to bet not only the Knicks. I'd love
to bet the Knicks and the Lakers if they got
Klay Thompson to go to the NBA Championship.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Well, this is the championship winner. This isn't just to
get to the this is to win the crown, right,
and your your Knicks are plus nine fifty. Celtics are
still the favorite, followed by the Nuggets and then the
seventy six Ers and the Thunder at plus nine hundred.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Goes show you how tough can it be? When the
Sixers are still up there and Joe em Beid was
limping to the I.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Mean, it's not like he's playing the twenty four to
twenty five season tomorrow. He's gonna have a whole off season.
Get healthy. Come on, man, all right, when we come
back to the Dirack dot com studios, your tweets, your
reaction right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Alrighty, It's Arnie and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
I got a problem, Chris, got a little bit of
a problem.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
What's wrong? Every week?
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Every week Mary asks us for a song request, and
it's like every song I give her, it's like.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Give you a real song, give you a real song.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
I'm like, you know, last week, I said, let's play,
let's play a song for Willie Mays who passed away. Right,
So we played that song Willie Mickey and the Duke.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
You know what, they're playing bassball.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
Like.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
So I said, I said, let's play that. She goes,
pick another song. I said, play we are the New
York Knicks. She goes, can't you pick a real song?
Can't you pick a real song? I go, what's wrong
with that? I go, so, what what what song?
Speaker 1 (36:59):
Do you want? Sports theme songs out there? What what song? Dude?
What about put me in gold. I'm ready to play. Hey,
what song do you want me to song? Do you
want me to beg there? Blake? Do I gotta take
song requests from our listeners?
Speaker 3 (37:14):
Or what?
Speaker 1 (37:15):
No? Please? God no, I'm gonna quit listen, Scott, if
we're talking about music rejoins on the night at the
start of NBA Free Agency, maybe it's time to move
me to another show. Can't handle you can't handle? Whenever
Mary asked me every single snay that what song? I'm like,
I don't know, man, million Dollar Baby something by Taylor Swift?
You you take this Swift? Sure? Why not?
Speaker 2 (37:35):
She's got I try to do sports theme songs. I
put a little thought into this.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
There's not a lot of really no song.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
What do you mean?
Speaker 1 (37:44):
I put a lot of thought into it.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
Why are you lying on air right now?
Speaker 1 (37:47):
The lie? Why have you not listened to the show
since you've joined us? I mean, come on? And by
the way, that's not even the right New York Nick song?
What's the one that you would always play the clip
whenever you would cram this down people's throat about the
greatness to the Knicks when you were at one on
one sports. Where's that song at what happened to it?
That's what I'm talking. We are the New York Dicks
and from the song. See, here's the problem, Arnie and
(38:09):
I don't know how to put I mean, you're you're
my bud. We've done this together for over a decade.
You trying to describe what you want or what you need,
You're just not good at it. I don't know what
I mean. You're right communicating a found I found the
right song. So the funny part. The funny part is
you couldn't even remember your Arnie bomb. I mean, you
(38:29):
couldn't even tell the story until last weak so long ago,
and you're like that Miller guy. It was twenty one
years ago, in two thousand and three. So I can't
understand where there might be some confusions on it. Confucius.
A couple of quick tweets access to the show so far,
mister Nobody does point out that the Knicks have gone
up to a plus eight to fifty, So there you go.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Plus seven fifty. They were tied with Denver. Being honest
on that tige.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
I'm not not saying make it up, it's just I
don't I don't really get too into the future market.
I don't know about you, but I do have numbers
for tonight, for Todd on the next landing Spot, for
Paul George, Clay Thompson, DeMar Deroz and and Andre Ayton,
because well, Vegas doesn't necessarily put up these numbers. They
are those offshore exotics, so you can find Vegas a
(39:15):
little bit of fun with I'm always curious about that.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
I'm wondering when Vegas will change her mind and go
with that, because if the offshore is gonna do it,
you would think it Vegas would take it. Just put
a limit on it, you know, just say you can't
put more than five hundred or maybe one thousand dollars
or something like that.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Well what's the benefit then to the books? Like how
the books end up making a lot of extra money
on it, because that's what Todd always tells us. There's
just not a big market there. If people start gambling
on it like crazy, then yeah, I think you'll see
him in Vegas. There was a lot of people are
betting on it.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I thought a lot of people bet on where Tom
Brady was gonna end up in that one guy's you know,
hit it big when he bet Tampas. I mean, maybe
I'm wrong on that, but there's a reason why the
Vegas doesn't want to take bets on that.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
It's well, you know what, There you go, we're adding
up the list of questions we need to ask Todd.
What are the real Nick's future and why don't you
guys do player trade props or anything like that? There
you go, that's coming up next hour. The meantime, George
hits us up on X and rights in the Clippers,
not even the Buffalo Braves history, they've only drafted two
(40:19):
Hall of famers. Who even are they? That's pretty wild
to just draft two in that entire with as many
top five picks that that program slash team has had
on Wow. Yeah, by the way, thanks Oscar for the
heads up, because I was all of fire and Brimstone.
I'm like, dad even get out of the second round. Yeah,
they actually made the finals in their second year together,
(40:40):
but that's it. I mean, they didn't make the playoffs
next year. Nature boy rights? Can we all just agree
what really matters in the NBA is if you own
the twenty twenty Disney season and twenty twenty four in
season championships. Stop, there's still banners that hang. Nature boy,
there's no banners that hang and late night drug tester.
(41:01):
NBA free agent speculation isn't as exciting as predicting which
NFL player will get in trouble during the fourth of July.
When we come back, we'll get you caught up on
all the latest news and see if Paul George moving
on is imminent on Fox Sports Radio. We roll in an
hour two. It's already in Plank on a Fox Sports
(41:22):
Sunday live from the ti rack dot com studios. Tire
rack dot com will help you get there an unmatched
a selection, fast, free shipping, free road ass to protection,
and over ten thousand are recommended installers tire rack dot
com the way tirebink should be. You heard the saga
with the official name of it right the it was
legal tampering in the NFL. Is that what we call
(41:43):
the legal tampering period? The NBA has the start of
its free agent period.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
The sager's got to start giving the scores of my
games too.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
He didn't do that.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
People want to know if my team wins or loses.
I get very upset.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
What I nobody wants one out about?
Speaker 2 (41:57):
Wow, you know my pickup my league games.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
So you think hold on, just for clarification, you think,
on a national sports network with hundreds of affiliates and
millions and millions of listeners across the globe, we should
not give like an NBA free agent update, a Major
League Baseball update soccer. We should be giving Arnie's stat
(42:22):
line and scores from his rec league adult league game
in Vermont.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
Yes, and the guy said he was gonna take me
out too, So that's part of the storyline.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
I don't know what would possibly come out of your
mouth that would make someone want to three.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
He said, I said the legal screen. He goes, Okay,
next time, I'm just taking you out, said, do what you.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Gotta do, what you gotta do. I bet you didn't
set an illegal screen the next time. I bet I did.
Like that, You're so full of crap right now, Yes, sir, Yes, sir,
I will not set an illegal screen the next time.
You didn't get another trip down? What you got to do?
Speaker 4 (43:01):
That's a lie?
Speaker 1 (43:02):
Wait scaring me? Man?
Speaker 4 (43:04):
He probably brugked off at a crying Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
May I believe that? Yeah, I'll take the ladder. Well.
NBA free agency is off to a less than roaring start.
And I kind of found this funny because on Twitter,
mister Yah Rights, NBA free agency is dead, So let's
talk about how we're gonna lose on American soil to France.
Who the hell are we gonna have on our squad?
(43:27):
Gonna be so weak after Anthony Edwards? What do you
what do you mean that we're gonna lose us back?
Come on, man, this is when we'll never lose internationally
in foot oway football. We lost like Team Japan with
a bunch of our under twenty one teams. Are we
just doomed? Is our NBA squad? Is our all star
NBA Squad's gonna stink in all the Olympic qualifiers? I
(43:49):
hope not.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
I hate when we was internationally. That bothers me more
than anything out there. And he's right, you know, free agency.
NBA free agency used to be kind of big. I mean,
we've been doing this show a long time and we
would get all into it and exciding and there'd be
some big moves and people would be going crazy over
some of the stuff and it just didn't work out
like this so far this way though, this week, obviously
(44:13):
we'll get a lot of the moves, and I'm still
pretty sure that Klay Thompson is though gona end up
with the Lakers. That's gonna be a done deal.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Yeah, And I would say that just because we haven't
had the massive amount of big time moves, I don't
think that. I think we're waiting for a few dominoes
to fall, right, Because if Paul George doesn't end up
in Philadelphia, let's say, I don't know, Orlando makes him
an offer he can't refuse. Let's say something happens, I
(44:40):
don't know how big of a get Demarto rose And
is considered, or if Klay Thompson ends up with the
Lakers instead of the Maps, I mean, there's gonna be
a counter move somewhere, Arnie. So I just every single
time people complain about being too slow when it comes
to free agency or a draft or any of these
offseason events that we kind of highlight, I don't something
usually ends up happening to spice it up. And it's
(45:03):
kind of wild because one of the stars of one
of the biggest trades in NBA history has said he's
not coming back for another year, He's not opting in
with his player option and people are like, yeah, okay, great,
what else? I mean to me? The Paul George story
is a pretty massive story here tonight. You're big on that.
Speaker 2 (45:20):
I'm like everybody yelse, I'm like, Okay, where is he
just going to go and promise to bring a championship
and fall short of that?
Speaker 1 (45:27):
All?
Speaker 2 (45:27):
So what's the next team that's gonna be doom with
him and not win it? And doesn't want to be
the number one guy though? He doesn't have to be
the number one guy in Philadelphia, that's for.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
Sure now, doesn't even have to be the number two
guy in Philadelphia right now. I don't even know what
kind of a fit he is in Philadelphia right now.
But you know me, I'm just about getting all the
best assets you can get on one team and finding
a way to make it work. Oh why would you
want him? You've already got X, Y and Z player.
I'm like, I don't care. He's good. I get him
out there and let's see if they can get it done.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
You'll only go as far as Joe Embiid stays. Hella
sure s the healthia. I mean, that's just you know, natural.
He was even when they played the Knicks. You could
tell he would even close to what seventy five percent.
Had he been one hundred percent, that would have been
a whole different series to be as Chris, who knows
if the Nigs get by of Philadelphia if this guy's
one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Okay, a couple of notes here, because we do have
a little bit of breaking news. It's not a massive player,
but the MAVs are still very much in pursuit of
Klay Thompson. They're trying to work out a sign and trade.
The Lakers are in this mix to Dallas. Earlier, Tonight
signed Naji Marshall a three year, twenty seven million dollar
deal whenever they realized they couldn't keep Derek Jones junior.
(46:40):
Derek Jones Junior, Tonight plans to sign eight three year,
thirty million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. So
I'm a little bit confused here. Three years, twenty seven
million dollars for Naji Marshall because they couldn't afford to
keep Derek Jones Junior. But then he signs with the
Clippers for a three whole million more dollars from twenty
seven mil to.
Speaker 2 (47:00):
And after taxes, how much is that?
Speaker 1 (47:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (47:02):
After taxes. How much is that going to work out?
By the way, God, No, just on the Klay Thompson situation.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
And we haven't even brought this up yet because I've
made it Roman number of number one. But with Lebron
taking a big pay cut, then how can they not
sign somebody like Klay Thompson?
Speaker 1 (47:20):
Right?
Speaker 2 (47:20):
I mean here, Lebron is giving you card Bloch, He's like, here, here,
here's my American Express black card or gold card, which
is more the black one or the gold one. I
don't even on the black one here it is go
spend the way. He's giving them money back. So they
have to get Klay Thompson, don't they They they're giving
the money back. He's given it to them to get
Kway Thompson.
Speaker 1 (47:41):
Well, if Clay's his desired target, right, I mean.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
Well he said they said Harden, but that's too late.
They said Paul George, but that's not going to happen.
And I think Clay was on the list. Also, those
were the three names I saw it there. Two of
them are not possible. So I got to figure Klay
is the next person up.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
What if it's a pay cut to the point where
they could afford Paul George. I mean, I don't know
if I think it's too late. That wasn't why I
had all George signed anywhere else. No, it just seems
like it's in right. None of this is too late
right now. I mean, James Harden hasn't even signed anywhere yet.
None of this is official right now, but I wouldn't
say anything is too far down the road. In fact,
(48:23):
speaking of numbers, Speaking of numbers, aren't he As we
come to you live from the Tirack dot com studios,
here's a look at the top four for Paul George's
next team according to Sports Betting dot Ag. Sixers are
two to one right now, of course, followed by the
Magic at four to one. The Spurs are at eight
to one, with the Chicago Bulls there at ten to one.
(48:45):
Golden State's at fifteen to one. Though, it seems as
if all of that talk about Golden States pursued of
Paul George, it seemed like that just disappeared. Let's go
get We're gonna go get Paul George, and then all
of a sudden it just fizzled out.
Speaker 2 (48:56):
Not a bad room or out there with somebody being
with somebody being used and dropped the bomb and so
being used on that one.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
The other teams, the Lakers at twenty five to one
have the same odds as just about every other team
in the NBA, with the longest shots right now being
the Portland Trailblazers at seventy five to one. Your Knicks
coming in as a fifty to one choice. For Paul George, Oh,
thank good.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
I don't want him on the next, man, I just please,
I don't need him on the next We're find the
way we are right.
Speaker 1 (49:26):
Now, Klay Thompson. Here's the top five according to Sports
Betting Dot AG. They've got the Mavericks. Oh, I mean
two to one, almost even money, four to one for
the Lakers, five to one odds for the Magic, six
to one odds for Klay Thompson, end up with the Clippers,
and then seven to one on the Nuggets. Now, the
Clippers would be interesting because and again I'm not gonna
(49:48):
sit here and understand or know what their numbers look like,
but you just think about a team that again, I'm
gonna keep bringing this up. New building, nice glitzy look,
it's gonna be fresh. You're gonna want to have are players.
Klay Thompson is a guy that people go see and
at uh six to one. So first time I kind
of looked at it and thought, Huh, what do these
(50:08):
guys know keeping that number so low, because you would
think a team like the Clippers are and he would
have significantly higher odds for Klay Thompson.
Speaker 2 (50:15):
Do you think he'll go This sounds like ridiculous question.
Will he go to the team that gives him the
most amount of money or will he give the Lakers
a little bit of a discount as he wants to
play there? And I think I'm thinking that he would
give the Lakers just a tiny bit of discount right now.
Speaker 1 (50:30):
Well, it's let's see Clay Thompson's last contract that he
had hold on. Let me let me do a little
bit of recent.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
Well, I know he was paying his boatload of money
while he was rehabbing that knee and that all the
injuries that he had. I mean, look at the look
through that two or three year period. The guy barely
played in any games at all. He was getting paid
a boatload of money.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
So five year, one hundred and eighty nine million dollar
deal with the Warriors, they just came to an end,
so he was. I mean last year he made forty
three mil. You know, that was the cap hit. So
he has in his two contracts made over you know,
almost two hundred and fifty million dollars, if not more
than that, Arnie, So I hear this, likey, he's made
(51:12):
his money. But in that same vein, one of the
reasons he's not with Golden State right now is because
he wasn't paid or at least offer the same kind
of deal that Draymond Green was offered so allegedly. Right,
these are all reports and there could be reportering. That's off.
I'm not living it and breathing it and eating it
every second of the day. I'm just kind of picking
up the cliff notes.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
What kind of money would take would it take to
get him? What a four year two hundred million or
something to that effect.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
Well, it depends on his motivation. You know what's his
motivation right now? Does he want to go somewhere where
he can he can stick it to the warriors? I
mean is that a motivation? Does he want to go
somewhere where his dad played, right? I mean is that
a motivation here? Or does he just want to go somewhere,
Arnie where he could make the most amount of money.
And when you talk about the most of my lot
(52:00):
of money, might be talking about a place like Orlando
or state taxes there.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Yeah, those state taxes in Orlando, so with Florida, So
I mean that would be the probably the biggest amount though.
I just have to think that the Lakers, and you
said they were the second favorite right now or what?
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Yes, the Lakers who are second right behind the hold
On I gotta scroll back up here, right behind the Mavericks.
Mavericks two to one, Lakers four to one, Magic five
to one.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
Wow, they must have a lot of money to give
up from the Mavericks to go ahead and be first
on that list.
Speaker 1 (52:30):
Well, they really don't, They really don't. They just they
have about his half of what he was making last year.
And some have talked about the mid level exemption right
where you could sign for twelve point nine million or
that'd be far short is what I thought he was
going to get. But he's got a lot of different
options out there right now. Here's here's a deeper question
(52:52):
on Klay Thompson, Paul George. We haven't even talked about
DeAndre Ayton or I've got numbers here on DeMar DeRozan.
Are any of these guys in any situation of these
teams that we're talking about right now, I would say Paul,
George and Philly might be one. But do you see
one of these guys being a piece where they go
and suddenly you see a big jump in the in
(53:13):
the championship box, right like you did with the Knicks.
Speaker 2 (53:16):
Quay with the Mavericks. No, I still don't think that's
gonna go ahead and put him over the top.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
I think there'll be a shift though. I think it'll
move in a positive direction.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
Maybe, but I think there.
Speaker 1 (53:27):
Goes to the Mavericks, their championship odds will will actually
it'll be better, they'll have better odds.
Speaker 2 (53:33):
Quay with Orlando, I don't think though. I think ahead
those getting better, but I don't think they put some
you know, up a couple of notches in the championship
only if he goes to the Lakers. Do I think
it makes much of a difference. Maybe not so much
new with with the numbers, but I just feel with
him being added and what's going on and them saving
(53:54):
money and with you know, I'll get another year with
Lebron and Anthony Davis. You know, it could work out
this time around for them. Maybe that was the missing
piece they needed. With somebody like Klay Thompson.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
Well, it would be interesting to see what the numbers
look like. But I was thinking clay to La or
Paul George to the Sixers were the two rumors where
we're like, okay, well in.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
Notres how Lebron said he would take a twenty million
dollar pay cut, And I said, you know what would
we give clay you know, twenty million a year for
what four years?
Speaker 1 (54:25):
Five years?
Speaker 2 (54:27):
You know, maybe twenty five million a year, so, you know,
be right around that area at least, I think that's
what somebody would be offering him.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
Projected to be just shy of thirteen million dollars is
what Summer saying the offers could be out there for Clayton.
Speaker 2 (54:41):
Wow, that's all Well did I boy? I'm glad I'm
not a gym. I over pay for Mike Crazy three.
Speaker 1 (54:48):
So this one note here from the Bleacher Report, and
this was during the office during the regular season. Seven
of eight NBA executives that Michael Scatto of hoops HiPE.
Oh of course it's not a Bleacher Report article. It's
something that they copy and pasted from somewhere else. Michael
Scatto of Hoops Hype predicted the Warriors would resign Clay
Thompson this offseason. Three of them thought the range would
(55:10):
be between eighteen to twenty million. If I've expected it
to be twenty to twenty five million, okay, so if
he was going to be a yeah, so in free agency,
it would be right around that same page.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
That's okay, number, I'm right there, I'm right. So that's
what I thought it was going to be. In if
the Lakers have that number, I would I would put
a little money on them on him going to the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (55:32):
Speaking of putting a little money on something, when we
come back to the ti iraq dot Com studios, our
buddy Todd Furhiman joins us to talk about what kind
of odds shifting move could be made in the next
few hours in the NBA. Right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
I started doing best start, Oh, come on, you going
to bath?
Speaker 1 (55:52):
I first question that after kind of song, Aren't I
pretend that you said, don't he'p me out a friend?
Come on or I'm going to see you had no
idea what the next guy need. But you say starting
play on a Fox Sports Saturday, is that Mark here?
(56:15):
Is that me? Both? But well then I love this.
I can't believe that you guys are waited this many
weeks to break it out. It's a classic. It's a classic.
The Great Todd Furman joins us right here on Fox
Sports Radio. Todd a couple of quick questions that we
were bringing up. Whenever you think about NBA, where a
(56:38):
player is going to get traded to, you know they
put numbers on it. You've talked, those are offshore. Those
aren't things Vegas delves into. Will it? Is it inevitable
or do you think that's just one of those props
where there's not enough interest or not enough money back.
Speaker 9 (56:51):
There's certain jurisdictions that do take wagers along those lines.
But it's not that there is an interest, it's that
there's perfect information. So if someone has an insight, it
doesn't benefit a sports book to take action on something
where there isn't an element of chance. Someone knows the
outcome of the event before it's going to take place.
So books put themselves in a position where there's no
real upside for them to try and book that kind
(57:13):
of action unless it was for small stakes or a novelty.
Even when we talk about the draft and people knowing
who these teams may take a little bit ahead of time,
all it takes is one domino for those things to
get sent into complete upheaval. Books typically don't like to
book that event, and they sure don't want any part
of free agency if they don't have to.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
That's why Vegas has banned me. I died bake a
gazillion dollars todd if I was able to bet where
free agents were going a gazillion dollars because obviously I
know what I'm talking about, what it talks about free
agent moves.
Speaker 9 (57:43):
They may have banned you for that karaoke rendition I
heard in segment before anything else, But you know, Arnie,
I think the biggest question I have for you with
your Nicks and acquiring McHale Bridges, is it just a
matter of time before Tom Thibodeau gets replaced by Jay
Wright and they put together a qualifying offer for Sadik
Bay as well to bring yet another Villanova Wildcat into
the fold of the Garden, hoping that they can recreate
(58:04):
some of that nova magic at the professional level.
Speaker 2 (58:07):
I thought it was going to be Danny Hurley. And
by the way, what was the lowest dodds you've seen
for the Knicks to win the championship. I thought it
was plus seven to fifty, tied with the Denver Nuggets.
Speaker 9 (58:17):
They are that short. I mean, they're one of the
favorites on the board right now.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
Now.
Speaker 9 (58:21):
I'm not quite sure he'd be running to the window
to try and bet them.
Speaker 1 (58:23):
Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes.
Speaker 9 (58:25):
But at the same time, the betting market does respect
what the team is and how they may have performed
a little bit better in the postseason should they have
their full complement of weapons and not dealt with the
rash of injuries. So there is optimism from odds makers
that your beloved Nicks and the team that I grew
up rooting for, may have a chance to get to
the NBA Finals. I'm not nearly as optimistic as the
(58:47):
betting markets, though, at least the way things stand right now,
with the next Knicks being lifted in the single digits
alongside teams like the Thunder, the Celtics, the Nuggets, and
in some spots even the seventy six ers, been a.
Speaker 1 (58:58):
Bit of a slow night NBA free agency Todd All,
I guess the big swing so far is that Klay
Thompson's not going to be back with Golden State and
Paul George isn't going to be back with the LA Clippers.
I mean, how much could Paul George for the seventy
six Ers change the dynamic in your opinion of the East?
Speaker 9 (59:16):
It depends what else the Sixers do. I mean, when
you look at the roster, a healthy Joel Mbi we
know goes along way. Tyrese Maxi one of the more
underappreciated players in the league. But I think the big
question that you always asked with Paul George how many
games is he going to give you during a regular season?
And can you count on him to help you get
over the hump in the Eastern Conference, something that the
seventy six Ers haven't been able to do.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
So.
Speaker 9 (59:37):
I know people like to make a big deal about
NBA free agency, but for me, a lot of the times,
it feels like rearranging deck chairs more so than anything else.
It's the teams that don't have to make those huge
sweeping moves, that already have their cores in place, that
understand the chemistry is trending in the right direction, and
teams like the Thunder and the Timberwolves that won't add
big name players should be a lot more optimistic than
(59:59):
some of these folks who want to go out there
and do it a little big game hunting. As we know,
the James Hardens of the world haven't exactly helped keep
people come become NBA finalists or NBA Championship contenders.
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Todd with Lebron taking a pay cut, That's why I
see Klay Thompson obviously ending up with the Lakers. I
think it's a fit. I think he wants to go there.
If they can puny up enough money, I think that's
we'll end up.
Speaker 9 (01:00:21):
I mean, it makes some sense, but I think, you know, Arnie,
people have to understand that Klay Thompson you're getting in
twenty twenty four to twenty twenty five. Isn't Klay Thompson
that could shoot the lights out at a moment's notice,
paired up at his healthiest with Steph Curry and so
people oftentimes treat NBA free agency, in my opinion, like
fantasy basketball, and they want to remember the golden ages
(01:00:43):
of what these players were there's a reason that the
Warriors are looking to try and send Klay Thompson somewhere
else if they thought he could be a productive scorer
and four and twenty twenty five a night with the
game that with the way the game is currently being played,
they wouldn't be trading him down the coast to the
Lakers or something along those lines. So it's always interesting,
and I know fans like to get excited when they
see some of these big names, but you do have
(01:01:04):
to temper some of those expectations. We've kind of seen
the era of that's so called Big Three go by
the waystside. There's a lot more parody right now. And
you have to give the Celtics a ton of credit.
They built a little bit of continuity around their two superstars,
and it wasn't like they tried to go out there
and add some high price free agents to get them
across the finish line before they won the title this
past year, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Just out of curiosity. Whenever you start thinking with the
NBA free agency and you think about the big moves,
the woes bomb moments, if you will, nothing was bigger
than five years ago when Paul George ended up as
a Clipper. Now five years later he's gone, they still
owe draft picks to the Thunder I saw. I guess
it's like, hey, at least you tried the Bart Simpson
(01:01:45):
cake where he throws it away. That's kind of I
feel right now? How can a Clipper fan are anyone
that covers this league not look at that and say,
for what you gave up, including a guy that's probably
gonna win an MVP in a few years in Shay
Gilges Alexander. This was a terrible move for the Clippers, right, you.
Speaker 9 (01:02:01):
Know, maybe getting out of the shadow of playing in
the same building as the Lakers is what the Clippers
need to forge their own identity. But when you look
at the dynamic of the league, I mean, so much
is made of chasing some of those big names, more
so than some of the encore pro activity. And with
the Clippers that you know, they thought that they had
the pieces in place to make a deep run. So
a guy like Shay Gildess Alexander became a little bit
(01:02:22):
more expendable and the Clippers lost, proving to be the
cornerstone of the Thunders franchise. So you get pressed a
ton of credit to patients, and I think when you
look at the fan bases and the cities that they
reside in, Oklahoma City fans were much more likely to
buy into a long term vision and be patient with
the rebuild, having lived through the James hard and Kevin
Durant Russell Westbrook era and knowing that wasn't enough to
get them where they wanted to go. And this is
(01:02:43):
a team, in my opinion, really set up for success.
And we saw who the thunder believe as their core,
making that deal, trading Josh Giddy to the Bulls and
getting someone in who's a little bit more of a
glue guy defensively, and Alex Caruso.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Todd, by the way, frist well, thanks a lot for
coming on today because I know tomorrow as a special
day out there in Vegas. It's pretty much free money
day today or tomorrow. Well, I mean, Todd, let's let's
be honest. If you and I were exactly even in basketball,
and then we were going to play one on one,
but you said, oh, I'm not going to try and
I'm not going to play defense, well everybody would bet
(01:03:18):
on me. Let me get this right. Usay and Uruguay
they're even and Erguay says, well, we're not going to
really try, We're not going to play our best players
and work. Plus what forty five, Let's get rich day tomorrow,
isn't it, Todd, Let's get rich.
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Let's get rich.
Speaker 9 (01:03:33):
We'll all believe that Uruguay decides they want to go
out there and lie down to allow Team USA to
have a better chance to get to the knockout phase
of Copa America when I actually see it, I mean,
some of the comments coming out of the Uruguay camp
don't suggest that we're going to get their full B teamers,
and sometimes Arnie, that can get you in in a
place of complacency. More so than anything else, I haven't
(01:03:54):
seen enough from Team USA, even in the build up
when they were blasted by Columbia and the friendly, they
would put together a much more complet effort against Brazil
and getting a result there, but a win over Bolivia
and a lost Panama even playing with ten men doesn't
have me extremely excited or optimistic. And I guess if
you want to latch onto the biggest storylines or around
the US men's national team, more than anything else, it
(01:04:16):
feels like this is a zero sum game, because on
one hand, if they win, they get a chance to
move on to the next phase of the tournament. If
they lose, the potential exists the team will go in
a different direction and hire a manager not named Greg
Boltberhalter to get this team ready for what should be
a deep, deep run in twenty twenty six World Cup
with the current generation.
Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
Todd, it's free money, Todd, it's free money, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
Just three to one USA.
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
That's gonna be my predicted three to one go with
the Americans. My friend trust me on this one, Tue.
Speaker 9 (01:04:45):
If that's the case, then I mean a two team
parlay for you, Arnie, A team USA on the three
way along with going over the total should be a
rocking chair winner. Then on the big stage tomorrow night
from ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
Piece of cake, post post a slip, Arnie, let them
all know you're playing. I want to know how Vegas
handled UFC one thirty last night. What was your takeaway
when Danye gets thrown in as a last minute in
a co main event showdown? What they say three hours notice?
How wild was that? You see?
Speaker 9 (01:05:15):
Odds makers they have power ratings on a lot of
these fighters. The challenge they run into is not being
able to keep tabs and the conditioning in some of
the build ups. So once we saw a change in
the co main event, you did see a numbers open
right around minus two ten. That number quickly moved, as
you could expect, towards the favorite out to three bucks.
And I can't imagine getting in the octagon, not going
(01:05:35):
through your pre fight routine for the day, weeks and
months leading up to it, and being thrust onto that stage.
But look, it's the UFC, and we've seen this before
from them in some capacity, and I know we don't
have a ton of hockey fans out there. It would
be the equivalent to some extent of me coming right
out of college getting called up to, you know, play
an NHL game on about four hours notice, hoping that
(01:05:55):
I could go out there and feel comfortable in that
particular environment.
Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
I would love to see that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
I'd think anybody betting on Aaron Judge props or anything
like that or no, not really because you don't get
good enough odds.
Speaker 9 (01:06:08):
I mean, Judges moved to a massive, massive favorite. When
you look at the odds to win the American League MVP,
I mean when you go through some of the other
markets that are out there. Of course, you can bet
him to lead the league in home runs in a
variety of different ways to kind of approach it. But
I think at this point, when we look at the
al MVP race, it was neck and neck some weeks
ago with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, but Judges kind
(01:06:29):
of moved to the forefront. Gunner Henderson appears to be
his next closest competition, especially as the Orioles move in
a first place in the American League East, and then
when you look in the National League, it apparently doesn't
matter to betters or odds makers alike that even if
shohe becomes a one dimensional player, and I use that
facetiously knowing how Diana Amicky is at the plate, he
is an overwhelming favorite in that market of about one
(01:06:50):
to two, with Freddie Freeman and Bryce Harper behind him.
The one award that has changed a little bit, though
we've seen odds shorten quite a bit on the American
League front runner coming into this, his price drifted out,
but after hitting for the cycle tonight, keep your eyes
on wy At Langford. I have a feeling by the
time we get to the All Star breaking about ten
days he will have jumped Louise Heel and be a
runaway freight train to take home that particular hardware in
(01:07:11):
the American League.
Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
Love it. There's a little prop that you might want
to listen to. Not arnies, just say wow, the man,
the mythree Monday tomorrow. Have a great week, Todd. We
appreciate your time, Bud.
Speaker 9 (01:07:22):
Always a pleasure, gentlemen. I have a happy and healthy fourth
of July.
Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
Thank God for us. Can always be found on Twitter
at Todd Furman and go check out his podcast, the
Best of bet the Board podcast. All Right, Steve Seger
comes rolling in. We got to get caught up. A
lot of news taking place right now in the NBA.
What's going on, Steve yep.
Speaker 6 (01:07:38):
NBA free agency negotiating windows started today. The new league
gear opens this Saturday. New salary camp, by the way,
is about one hundred and forty million dollars per team.
James Harden will re sign with the LA Clippers two years,
seventy million, including a player option. The Clippers tonight, according
to multiple reports, now plan to sign Derek Jones X
of Dallas three years, thirty million dollars. George opted out
(01:08:00):
of his contract, and George was due to talk to
Philadelphia tonight. He will not resign with the Clippers. Philadelphia
is signing Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon, Golden State wag
Chris Paul, and he intends to sign with the Spurs
one year for about eleven million dollars.
Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
Overtire ready, come on.
Speaker 6 (01:08:17):
Enough, I'd say yes to lobbing it into Victor Wemban Yama.
Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
Thank you, I can lob it into him.
Speaker 7 (01:08:23):
Exactly my point.
Speaker 6 (01:08:24):
The Wizards get center Jonas Valencunas three years thirty million dollars.
Orlando agreed to a deal with Contavia's Caldwell Pope three
years sixty six mil, including the player option. The Pacers
are resigning Obi Toppin four years sixty million dollars, and
Miami re signed Kevin Love. By the way, USA men's
basketball is due to be in Vegas the next week
(01:08:45):
and a half or so. They'll have a tune up
game before leaving for other exhibitions to get ready for
the Olympics. A tune up that's on FS one in
a week and a half, and then the Summer League
in Vegas starts July the twelfth. In the WNBA. We
had three games today. New York's Sabrina Yenescu was three
of seventeen shooting from the floor pretty good, and New
York still won against Atlanta eighty one seventy five. Near
(01:09:07):
triple double for Caitlin Clark is Indiana one at Phoenix
eighty eight eighty two. They said a rookie has still
not had a triple double in that league's history. She
had fifteen points, nine rebounds, twelve assists today and six turnovers.
Minnesota won at Chicago seventy to sixty two in the
Los angel Reefs with another sixteen rebounds. In Copa America,
(01:09:28):
Mexico is out. It needed a win to advance. Tonights
in Arizona. It tied Ecuador's zero zero in front of
sixty two thousand fans, and Mexico outshot him nineteen to nine.
So Mexico scored all of one goal total in its
three games in the tournament. It is eliminated due to
gold differential. It'll be Ecuador against Argentina on July fourth,
(01:09:49):
a Thursday quarterfinal. Venezuela plays Friday against Canada in the
next round. Venezuela three and oh, shockingly after beating last
place Jamaica three nothing. And yes, the US plays night
and will likely need to beat, not tie, first place
Uruguay to advance. That game will be on FS one
from Kansas City, where at last check it's due to
be warm and windy. As for the US lineup, keep
(01:10:13):
in mind the goalkeeper Matt Turner had to leave at
halftime last game with a bruise leg after an early collision.
No kar given on that play, so the loss went
to the goalie off the bench, Matt Horvaz will see
if the US has to start him in this game.
And as far as the lineup for Uruguay, you're right.
It is not unusual when you get three group games
that you don't play your starting lineup all three, especially
(01:10:36):
when Uruguay is a team that already knows it's going
to be advancing to the next round. One of the
guys they've had on the bench has been one of
their superstars for a decade, Luis Suarez. Perhaps he will
be starting.
Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
For Is that the guy that bitched somebody?
Speaker 7 (01:10:48):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (01:10:49):
Absolutely it is there you go, I told you of
the soccer expert's played two games so far and they've
outscored their opponents eight to one, and then in the
tune up game this month against mex Uruguay won that
one for nothing. And at the end of last year
in World Cup qualifiers in South America, Uruguay beat Argentina
to nothing and beat Brazil to nothing. Wow, back to back,
(01:11:13):
just saying this is not a pushover whatever, like.
Speaker 7 (01:11:18):
Over there tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
Get a second.
Speaker 6 (01:11:22):
NASCAR win for Joey Logano in overtime, a record five
overtime attempts at Nashville tonight. Zane Smith finished second, Tyler
Reddick was third. Logano gets his first win of the
year onto the playoffs. Simone Biles won the gymnastics all
around at the US Trials, Sonny Lee was second, Jordan
Chiles third. Also on the team for the Summer Games
(01:11:42):
Jade Carey and selected Hesley Rivera. Meanwhile, at the Track
Olympic Trials they ended in Oregon tonight. Sidney McLoughlin Leveron
broke the world record again in the four hundred medles meeters.
She won her final by two seconds, and the Sunday
night ballgame went to Texas eleven to over Baltimore. The
Rangers end a six game losing streak. The Giants ripped
(01:12:05):
the Dodgers ten to four. The losing pitcher, James Paxton,
had been seven and one this year, but in four
innings he allowed nine runs twelve hits. Shoheo Tani at
the play was zero for five with three strikeouts. Meanwhile,
the Giants had ten doubles in this game today a
Giants team has not had more doubles than that in
a game since nineteen twelve against the Brooklyn Dodgers. And
(01:12:29):
I did mention on last night's show a little comparison
of the TV ratings this week. Remember, the NBA had
its two round draft on two days now Wednesday and Thursday,
and the second round included the Browny James pick to
the Lakers. Second round of the NBA Draft on ESPN
drew under nine hundred thousand viewers. The euro Soccer's been
(01:12:51):
averaging over one million viewers on Fox and FS one,
and those are all day games, including a lot of
weekday games due to the time difference. Fox got two
and a half million viewers for the US loss on
Thursday to Panama, and the US opener got three point
two million viewers on Fox, and that was against lowly Bolivia.
Last Sunday back to you.
Speaker 1 (01:13:12):

Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
Des Moines, who just tweeted in that said, Chris, I'm
a huge fan of yours.
Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
I wish you.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Had another co host, any other co host that was
in capital letters.
Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
Great show.
Speaker 2 (01:14:06):
In spite of that at plank hashtag mallar militia.
Speaker 1 (01:14:12):
See that.
Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
That's why I don't fill in for Bed And you
understand that, right, Why is that now you understand that
me and the malle of Militia just don't get along.
And what did I say any other roast any other coasts?
Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
Please?
Speaker 2 (01:14:26):
Why?
Speaker 1 (01:14:26):
Why?
Speaker 2 (01:14:27):
What did I say that was so offensive that he
has to have that you have to have another callst
I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
I wasn't even going to read that. I just maybe
he just you were going to read it. Yes, you were,
I know you were. I was going to read this one. Guys,
Why does the stinking genius there you go, mister Plank?
Does the stinking genius know that every time he asks
a question he finishes with you know or or what
I've listened it to at least twenty shows in a
row and he does it at least ten times a show. Well,
(01:14:55):
make a bet with him. He can't stop it. I
don't see that where Well, it's not something you could see,
it's something you would hear. I think what Mustang mania
who may have turned a bit Mustang mania? I love
he didn't like my Dallas information, so I got smarter
on my Dallas information, Arnie. That's what you do. By
the way, Welcome to the acc SMU tonight. How exciting,
(01:15:16):
But you do drop you know a lot. You are
very much an or what kind of a prose? I
never say you, I never say that, So are you
calling Mustang Maynia? But I didn't want to get to
this one. I know we got a break. I know
we got a break. This was from mister Yeah, and
I thought this was really good. Think about Durant, he's
(01:15:38):
been tied to us lately. I think he's talking about
the rockets until you remember that since Golden State he's
been on loaded squads doing nothing as a team, So
why go get them? I think these younger gms are
starting to be smarter about hoarding picks and young talent.
You think that's what it is, that we're being less
(01:15:58):
star crazy and more foundation built.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
I agree with the one hundred on that. I don't
not so sure I'd be so quick to get a
Kevin Durant or Chris Paul or James Harden or Paul
George or any of those guys. No, I think I'd
rather go with the younger talent and go in a
different direction.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:16:18):
So, uh yeah, I'm a joke. That's a joke.
Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
But no, I agree with mister uh yeah, not what
I do.
Speaker 1 (01:16:24):
Yeah, I think he's right. All right. When we come
back to the tyrack dot Com studios, Steve Seger will
make sure we're caught up on everything in the world
of sports we need to know right here on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 10 (01:16:35):
There you go. Mary never fails you. Arnie, You're go
to New York. Go Go New York, Go, New York.
Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
Go.
Speaker 4 (01:16:50):
This might be worth it than Jason.
Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
I don't think I've ever heard this before. I don't
think I've ever heard this before.
Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
Think kind of about time.
Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
Yeah, yo, don't attitude of me?
Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
Wow? Right here. Yeah, she was the one standing up
for you. She was getting mad about people saying bad
things about you on Twitter. No you're not. The first
thing she does is stand up for you. In the
very scene, Mary, the very first thing he does is
take a shot and.
Speaker 7 (01:17:16):
The like what are you doing dude?
Speaker 1 (01:17:18):
Right exactly? Hey, Steve de Sager has got us an
update on everything going on in the world of sports.
Speaker 6 (01:17:23):
Good evening, Steve song that is not really that is
taking a shot. That's a reflex from many at this point.
Its really may not even be purposeful. The NBA news
that we've been over before also includes news from the Pistons.
It's not just the Clippers taking the news tonight. The
Pistons planned to give KEG. Cunningham a five year max
(01:17:45):
rookie extension where it's two hundred and twenty six million dollars.
It deserves it, and they have a new head coach coming.
The guy just let go by Cleveland, JB. Bickerstaff is
reportedly going to get a five year contract. Monty Williams,
with that huge deal, was let go after one season
because Detroit has new management now. The Pistons last season
had a record of fourteen and sixty eight. They haven't
(01:18:08):
won a playoff game since two thousand and eight, when
they appeared in the East Files for a six straight year.
It's quite different from twenty years ago and that era
of Pistons hoops to what we've gotten since two thousand
and eight. And then there's Clippers history, which we touched
on in the first hour tonight, as Paul George saying
he is not resigning with the Clippers. He was on
(01:18:30):
a Clippers team that's actually won a second round playoff
series with coach Tehronlu three years ago. But the Clippers franchise,
which has existed over fifty years except for that one time,
has never won a second round playoff series. I remember
when I brought that up first hour tonight and then said,
and the Clippers of world Soccer, Mexico are out at
(01:18:51):
Copa America. Because Mexico, you know, they've been the big
fish in a small pond for so many decades. They
can beat up El Salador from here to the moon,
but get them against real teams or in the World
Cup or something like that, they don't have a great history.
What's odd, and I mean this for my whole lifetime,
is to observe that Mexico fans, who, as we've documented
(01:19:12):
on this show, are the worst fans in all of
North America. And that was in an evidence again in
Arizona tonight. At least they weren't throwing things on the field.
But Mexico fans generally seem to think their team is
the Lakers, but they're actually the Clippers. In World Cup history,
and the World Cups existed for almost one hundred years now,
they've made seventeen different World Cups and only won seventeen
(01:19:35):
games total. In their World Cup history, They've never made
it past the round of sixteen, except when they were
the host twice, and then they made it one round
further into the quarterfinals and got dropped.
Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
Well.
Speaker 6 (01:19:48):
Simone Biles is leading an Olympic team to Paris for
women's gymnastics as the trials officially ended tonight. Keep in mind,
the Americans got the silver in tea competition at the
last Olympics behind Russia. The defending Olympic champs are unable
to compete this summer as part of the fallout from
(01:20:09):
the war in Ukraine, and the US has almost the
same team going back in women's gymnastics, a lot of experience,
and it's the first ever Olympic gymnastics team from any
country ever to have two all around champs on the
same roster. Kasuni Lee of the US won the women's
all around gold at the last Games in Tokyo, and
before that it was Simone Biles and they're both on
(01:20:32):
this team for this summer. And Cam Davis won the
PGA event in Detroit today by one stroke, how because
twenty two year old golfer akshay Batiya missed a short
putt on the final hole and finished one stroke back,
a guy who hadn't missed a putt inside six feet
all week. It was just his second bogie of the week. Now,
(01:20:53):
for Davis, that win was his first top ten finish
of the season. But for the guy who tied for second,
what's the difference between the first player check there and
a tie for second? The difference was over one million?
Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
Ouch ouch. Oh that hurts. That hurts a little bit.
All right, a little bit. Good stuff to Sega when
we come back. Good stuff on Twitter. We'll hit the
Roman Numeral rundown because Arnie missed the biggest story of
the week of the night, and he's got a top
five list that doesn't involve death, or at least I
hope it doesn't. It's all coming up in the final
(01:21:27):
hour of Arnie and Plank right here on Fox Sports
Radio as always, as always on a Sunday night into
a Monday morning, coming to you live from the tyrack
dot com studios. Tyrack dot com will help you get
there and unmatched a selection, fast, free shipping, free road
hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tyrack dot
(01:21:50):
com the way tire buying should be. So, I was
going through your Roman Numeral rundown. Yeah, show tonight, pretty
good one today. I thought it was terrible. Wow. Here
just see number one is lebron will take a twenty
million dollar pay cut.
Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
Well, now he got everybody's face who said, oh they
took Bronny.
Speaker 1 (01:22:08):
What a waste of a pick.
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
Now it turns out it's a great pick because now
Lebron took a twenty million dollar pay cut.
Speaker 1 (01:22:14):
And so Roman numeral two is Bronny. Roman numeral three
is free agent moves with for some reason numeral four
being around JJ Reddick.
Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
Because I was right about that too. You never give
me credit on stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
What were you right about with that.
Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
When I said that pretty much coaching doesn't make much
of a difference, and you always rip me for that.
Speaker 1 (01:22:32):
Yes, because that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of it.
Speaker 2 (01:22:34):
Meanwhile, the Wakers just hired a guy with what he
coached in the fourth grade, fourth grade t.
Speaker 1 (01:22:38):
Steve Kerr never had any coaching experience when he went
to the Warriors. How that works? Proved my point?
Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
Aren't they?
Speaker 1 (01:22:44):
Aaron rab But he had to become a good coach.
He had to become a good coach. Mark Jackson didn't.
He got fired. Steve Kerr did? He got better? Arnie,
you can't say coaching doesn't matter. It does matter, it
matters more. Number of five is Aaron Rodgers Roman numeral six.
What would you rather have Tour or Dak? What are
(01:23:05):
we an overnight show?
Speaker 8 (01:23:06):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (01:23:06):
You don't like that way? You didn't like that one?
Speaker 2 (01:23:08):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
What would you rather have Tuur or Dak? Why would
I argue that with you? It'd be the most pointless thing.
It'd be like arguing with Ben mallor who's better than
the Clippers or the Lakers. It's a pointless argument. You're
gonna take Tua Roman numeral seven.
Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
I think I think the listeners would pick two also, though.
Speaker 1 (01:23:27):
No they wouldn't Roman numeral a Usa versus Uruguay, which
you don't care about Roman numeral nine. Brandon I said.
Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
That, Okay, you know, I think you skipped that, But
go ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:23:40):
Mary, since he never listens to me on the show,
he was busy trying to flex his muscle, I said,
ayuk ei, there's for the Major League Baseball, there's something
about Clark and Tarasi, and then there is Panthers spray
dropping f bombs on TV. Yes, absolutely nothing on the
wh whole world changing tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:24:01):
Because that you're in the and I have my top
five overrated quarterback. Was you're talking about because Oklahoma went
to the SEC.
Speaker 1 (01:24:09):
Oklahoma and Texas are officially in the SEC, baby, so
we can stop talking about all these other conferences and
nobody cares about. This is an SEC show and SEC only.
Let's go, Baby. We're coming for you Bama, We're coming
for you, George, We've already taken out Texas. We're coming
for you. A and m SEC. Baby, they're partying right now.
(01:24:31):
There's fireworks going off. I can hear it from my house.
Speaker 2 (01:24:33):
I thought this was a bad day for you, and
that's why you're being quiet about it.
Speaker 1 (01:24:38):
I wasn't quiet about it. You're the dope that didn't
put in the rundown SCC, did ECC did go? Baby?
Speaker 2 (01:24:46):
Did we talk about this on Friday or No?
Speaker 1 (01:24:49):
No, you never want to talk about it because anytime
I bring up anything college, you're like Arizona going to
the Big twelve in AI conference and I don't. I
can't have a conversation with you. It's like the NFL.
I can't have a conversation with you because it's always well,
the Dolphins are gonna win at all and that's it.
It's just it's it's pointless to try to even bring them.
To be honest with.
Speaker 2 (01:25:08):
You, how come would I go, like to the websites
they still don't have Oklahoma and in Texas in the SEC yet.
Speaker 1 (01:25:15):
Who cares they are? Are you going to.
Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
I'm just ESPN.
Speaker 1 (01:25:21):
So you're on ESPN, right, yeah? What would you be
looking for them in the SEC? Like right now at
this moment? What would you be looking for them?
Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
What do you what would I be looking?
Speaker 1 (01:25:30):
Well, you just said the websites don't have them there yet.
Meanwhile I'm looking at SEC sports dot com and they're
all over it. But uh, where would you be looking? Where?
You where? You don't think Oklahoma is our Texas are list?
Speaker 2 (01:25:42):
I just listed teams and they put them up by
conference and as the SEC in alphabetical water and then
that Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
And what There's eight thousand different options whenever it comes
to the ESPN website.
Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
Well in the SEC and the football and college football
so in the college football standings right yeah, where it
says the SEC, I see Oklahoma and Texas there.
Speaker 1 (01:26:03):
Baby, it's over, We're here. There's nothing you can do
about it. Also, they still have last year's records up.
So twenty four twenty five, we're in. We're in, and
I'm ready. I think it's gonna be one of the
best years of college football. Not because I think oh
you or Texas are gonna win the SEC. But I
think a twelve team playoff, new teams and new places.
(01:26:25):
Big Tin's gonna Big Tin's out of four new teams tonight.
I think your Wildcats are officially in the Big twelve tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:26:32):
You have an easy schedule too, You know we don't.
Speaker 1 (01:26:34):
It's the hardest schedule in all of college football. No,
it is not stop it. Why is Main?
Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
Is the Main Black Bears all of a sudden a
real good team? Am I missing something?
Speaker 1 (01:26:44):
That's one game on the schedule.
Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
Un congratulations on getting them. That must have been hard
to pall.
Speaker 1 (01:26:50):
Will you look at the rest of the schedule. You
sound like an idiot right now?
Speaker 2 (01:26:54):
No, I sound like an idiot because I point out
you're playing the Main.
Speaker 1 (01:26:58):
Point out one game. They're playing at Auburn. They're playing
Tennessee at home. They're going to LSU. They're playing Alabama.
For goodness sake, you got that game at home? Right
which one? Bama?
Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
Yeah, the Bama game.
Speaker 1 (01:27:10):
The Bama game is at home, So don't come here talking, Oh,
you got my mate on your schedule. You probably got
like North Kakilaki State on your schedule. Doesn't mean you
got one game in twelve that looks like a layup
for him. Every other game outside of maybe Temple, it's
going to be a challenge and you're playing in the SEC.
Look at Florida's schedule. Oklahoma schedule and Florida's schedule are brutal.
(01:27:33):
In Florida, by the way, plays are non kind of
against Florida State, so that sucks too. So don't come
in here that track.
Speaker 2 (01:27:39):
It's like your first out of your first seven games,
six of them are at home. I'm like, my goodness,
do you have to go on the roads. There are
a special exemption for Oklahoma? Then they get all home games.
Am I missing something?
Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
Or what.
Speaker 1 (01:27:51):
Where is ou Texas played? It's not a home game.
Neutral site, I'll give you that. Okay, neutral site still
in Texas. Last I check, still in Texas. Yeah, Oklahoma's
playing three non conference games at home this year for total.
Then they get Tennessee at home, and then they go
to Auburn. Then they got to go to Dallas and
they gotta go to Ole Miss so and oh, by
the ways, all those home games. Yeah, three of their
(01:28:13):
final four on the road and it's at ol Miss,
Missouri and LSU.
Speaker 2 (01:28:16):
That kind of sucks? Does sound too tough to me?
You get so mad at me when I.
Speaker 1 (01:28:24):
Say that, because you just sound dumb.
Speaker 3 (01:28:26):
I want to support you're okay, okay, you're telling me
playing at Ole Miss a team who is a top
ten preseason team that spent over twelve million dollars on
their roster.
Speaker 1 (01:28:37):
Right now, Missouri, by the way, played in a BCS
Bowl and they playing everyone back but through starting quarterback
and Jaln Milroe, which by the way is the home
game in there is Alabama, and they go to LSU. No,
that's not that hard of a sketchy You got one.
What congratulations you do?
Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
Play in the SEC's right.
Speaker 1 (01:28:53):
Don't dump on it. Don't dump on It's good. If
you guys went to If you guys went to any
of those schools, you'd be a double digit underdog right now.
Speaker 2 (01:29:00):
Oh, I knew Arizona should have went to the SEC.
I remember, that's right. We need a lay up as
far as that's concerned. To the text, we go at
Stinking Genius one. I'm at Plank Show. Everybody should be
following us at Fox Sports Radio. Ahead News is ahead
of the game, he writes. The story of the week
has got to be the USA national Under twenty team
(01:29:23):
losing two flag football games in a big overseas tournament.
Time to unleash all of our NFL prospects from spring
ball on the world. It was funny how much out
fake outrage people had about that. Did you even know
one guy that played on that?
Speaker 1 (01:29:36):
So I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:29:37):
I don't know the guys that played. I mean, I
don't have the list in front of me. I did
hear them talking about it earlier today? Does sound a
little embarrassing, though, doesn't it, Chris. I don't know where
they got the players, but it sounds embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (01:29:47):
Well, I mean, sure, when you lose to Japan and
your team USA, But I don't know who's over there playing.
Did you hear of any college guys that are over
there playing at all? I haven't heard of any top
high school prospect recruits that are over there playing right now.
This might be the you of football. The Arnie what
Arnie Spanier is direct League Basketball. That could be the
people that are over there place went over there right now.
Speaker 2 (01:30:10):
That's who went over there and started the way right.
Speaker 1 (01:30:12):
Before I hit a couple of other texts. I do
feel like our tweets excuse me, do you feel like
it's necessary to make sure we're caught up on all
the news. There has not been a massive seismic shifting
signing tonight. The seventy six Ers are considered the front
runner to get Paul George. As it stands right now,
the Clippers have pinned like a goodbye letter to him
that's already out there, which seems so odd. Paul George
(01:30:34):
is out, it seems, but James Harden sticking around, and
Derek Jones Junior has just signed with the Clips. Klay
Thompson is not coming back to the Golden State Warriors,
nor is Chris Paul, who is on his way to
the Spurs. Jonis Valanciunas is on his way to the Wizards.
Kentavious called well, Pope signed a deal with the Magic
Najie Marshall signed a deal with the Mavericks. Makes him
(01:30:56):
plumb leave the Suns. But as you're kind of maybe
catching the flow here, Arnie, We're not having any of
these massive ground breaking moves that have happened in the.
Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
NBA any any market for Russell Westbrook. You still think
there's somebody or teams interested in him or what?
Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
Who is that again?
Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
Russell Westbrook?
Speaker 1 (01:31:15):
I mean, yeah, if you want someone that's just gonna
miss a bunch of shots and fight with fans and
not play very good defense, I'd pack him in a heartbeat.
Why is why where did he fall off so much?
Had he always been this bad? I mean I watched
him every single game in the MVP season and he
(01:31:37):
was unbelievable. He set the record for most triple doubles.
Now what is he ont to see? He went Wizards, Lakers, Clippers.
Now this is what third straight, second straight year with
the Clippers. But I mean, if I'm a team like gosh,
I don't even know where he would be a good fit.
Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
They used to be the New York Knicks where they
could use a little bit of an age some scoring,
but they I don't think you care of that now.
Speaker 1 (01:32:02):
Yeah, you know, actually he'd be a pretty good fit
in Oklahoma City to where he could be a guy
that you know, you might be able to come off
the bench and give you a little juice. They don't.
I don't like their second team very much, but I
don't I don't know if he's gonna do something like this.
I like that. In other words, I don't think he's
going to try to go somewhere he's where he's gonna
have to play a role like that.
Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
No, he wants to have a bigger role, and I
don't think he's that at that point in his career
anymore where he could be like that. He's he's more
of a bench guy, and you know, give me twenty
minutes off the bench and keep things close.
Speaker 1 (01:32:32):
Sharon rights Plank, You're wrong. I would certainly take two
over Dak. Dak has been in Dallas for years and
they really have nothing to show for it. Tua is
young and gets better every year. Well with you hundred
percent over Dak so far, I don't think it would
be one hundred percent in the end. I just can't
(01:32:53):
trust him. I can't trust Dak to it to stay healthy.
Rick writes, I can't. Arnie can't even go ten minutes
without trolling one way or the other each week. He
can't make up his mind as soon as Tua has
a bad week, he's gonna want him gone too. I mean,
it's not even like a season, it's a week. You
guys don't understand this. You don't get the text that
I get.
Speaker 8 (01:33:11):
My quarter is.
Speaker 1 (01:33:12):
Wrong one incompletion, one quarter of bad place. It's like,
we got to go in another direction. It's just not
working right now. The Kansas City game just killed me.
Last year, we all tried to warn you, but you
don't listen. Uh, Colin Wrights, Sports News is slowing this summer.
Could we use some Aaron Rodgers drama at this point?
Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:33:30):
You have Aaron Rodgers in there in the Roman numeral day.
Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
Aaron Rodgers getting back from me jypt. I thought he
was gone for something really important, so obviously it was,
I guess.
Speaker 1 (01:33:40):
So it's not okay to take a family vacation.
Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
No, it's fine. It's funny to take your family vacation
right in the middle of of you know, a camp,
go ahead taking that.
Speaker 1 (01:33:49):
It wasn't camp. It was voluntary, voluntary.
Speaker 2 (01:33:51):
It's always voluntary.
Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
It's it's voluntary. So that's what's Uh, he was not
told if you went to your bosses and it was
in the middle of the NFL Draft and you're like, hey,
I need that week off. Well, you're not going to
give good draft information anyway, You're just going to tell
everyone of whoever the Dolphins picks is amazing. Let's say
it's during the playoffs and your wife has an Alaskan
cruise or something planned and you miss it. I mean,
(01:34:17):
does that make you a bad teammate? Even though yeah,
absolutely would you miss it? Would I miss the playoffs?
Would you miss Say no, no, I'm talking about the show.
Would you miss doing the show during the playoffs? If
your wife had a cruise set or if you guys
were going on a family vacation. No, absolutely not, you
(01:34:37):
would stay and do the show. I would stay and
do the show. You're lying through you.
Speaker 2 (01:34:41):
No, I'm not, absolutely not. I would never miss the
show during during the NFL season.
Speaker 1 (01:34:46):
Your wife is taking you overseas and tells you you're going,
you would lose that fight every single Do it after February.
Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
Don't do it during the season.
Speaker 1 (01:34:54):
You're so full of crap.
Speaker 2 (01:34:56):
No, being honest, no way I would do that, Artie.
Speaker 1 (01:34:59):
If your wife told you you were going on the trip,
your ass would be going on the trip.
Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
I'd say take your boyfriend.
Speaker 1 (01:35:06):
I ain't going it's not happening. This is the same
man who talks about betting but doesn't do it. So
I mean, I don't even know what about it right now,
I'm telling you the truth.
Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
I would I would say, first of all, she wouldn't
pook it because she would ask me first, and I
would tell her, no, it's not happening. I've got to work.
Do you know who I am? I'm important?
Speaker 1 (01:35:24):
Come on now, LJ Rights, The Lakers are dysfunctional. Clay
is nothing more than an eighth or ninth man. Aul
George is a better choice. Thankfully CP three signed somewhere else.
The Lakers need to do something to get away from
the playing game. I actually agree with that last point,
But eighth or ninth man on Clay, No, it seems
pretty brutal.
Speaker 2 (01:35:44):
That is, but I do get his point about him
with all the injuries, he's certainly not going to be
worth the twenty five million a year.
Speaker 1 (01:35:51):
Though. How many of these players are.
Speaker 2 (01:35:52):
Really worth somebody they're getting anyway, that's a good question.
Speaker 1 (01:35:57):
What is the great value? Who are the great phrase
euro as valuable as someone else wants to pay Exactly right,
exactly that, and then one more here from Brandon, who writes,
to paraphrase Michael Jordan, I'll support the Lakers if Lebron
is not on the team. Wait did Michael Jordan say that?
Then again, I grew up watching this team every night
(01:36:18):
from middle school through Juco, so not following them for
me is impossible. I kind of feel the same way, Brendan.
I don't know how to feel, because I think I'm
becoming like the ultimate Laker fan Arnie, because I'm now
getting filled with false hope on every little move that happens.
I've justified JJ Reddick. I'm like this, dude's gonna be right.
(01:36:38):
I gonna say, did you all of a sudden felt better?
Did Hi Reddick? Greatest move I've ever seen in my life?
Number two? Drafting Brownie? Why not? Who else is the
star that was taking fifty fifth? What Isaiah Thomas from
back in the day says, run I.
Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
Saw somebody put a list together of the all the
number fifty five picks from the last I don't know
how many years do you not see on a whole
like of a lot, Chris, Let's.
Speaker 1 (01:37:02):
Just put it on that, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:37:04):
Yeah, I think I just said, you know, that's the
first time all like since that guy brought it up.
Speaker 1 (01:37:09):
I think you might be onto something there. I think
you might be onto something there. A couple more quick
ones and we'll get a break, because I do want
to make sure that we have plenty of time for
Arnie's picks tonight, because I'm sure there's gonna be some
doozies in there this evening. And it's always you're gonn
hit us. It's stinking genius one. I'm at Plank Show
and everyone should follow us. At Fox Sports Radio, Chris
wrightes tell us how great Arizona will be in the
(01:37:30):
new Big twelve. Arnie, tell us how Oklahoma will start
losing in the SEC starting tomorrow. Tell us why you
should care about the NFL's July starts, and tell us
how Roman numerals are so much better than Greek or
Egyptian numerals.
Speaker 2 (01:37:44):
Oh wow, that's a lot of questions.
Speaker 1 (01:37:46):
Let's start with Arizona. Off the top.
Speaker 2 (01:37:48):
Arizona, I expected I went through the schedule, maybe one loss.
I'm expected to be in the College playoffs. This is
our year. Chris, Let's go Oklahoma. I think you'll probbab
lose three games, So welcome to the SEC. I hope
you're gonna go ahead and enjoy that. That's that's gonna
be a tough go around.
Speaker 1 (01:38:06):
You're gonna start the year two and two. You're gonna
beat New Mexico in northern Arizona. You're gonna lose to
Kansas State, and you're gonna lose to Utah.
Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
We don't lose the schools like Kansas State and Utah.
Speaker 1 (01:38:16):
You absolutely do. No, you might lose to BYU Oh
stop it, Yu. Yeah, a big band quarterback. Huh with
who you know? I'm a little.
Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
Embarrassed, to be honest with you, because I feel like
we're going down to the Division III football by going
to the big twelve.
Speaker 1 (01:38:34):
Well, you better win then if you're that. Oh, I'm
pretty confident.
Speaker 2 (01:38:38):
I think we were picked second in the conference, which
is an embarrassment.
Speaker 1 (01:38:41):
There has not been a conference poll that's been thrown
out yet. You saw one guy that said this is
how I would fill out my ballot, and I think
it was an Arizona reporter, And now all of a sudden,
it's like, yeah, we've been picked second in the league. No,
some Arizona dude picked you guys to finish that. You
should have picked us first. Now, if you would have
your coach back, if you'd have your coach, don't want
him back. I don't want that guy back. He only
(01:39:06):
led you to one of the best seasons you've had
in the last.
Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
Twenty We won in spite of him, not because of him.
Speaker 1 (01:39:11):
I don't know about that. And then one, even though
it was the better quarterback between the two, the guy
won the job right out of the gate. And then
Joe Judge Wright's welcome to the se Joe Judges Berner,
excuse me, welcome to the SEC. Get used to a
four loss season? Oh yeah, there's gonna be welcome. There's
gonna be two to three loss teams make the playoffs.
(01:39:32):
Now I think I think there'll be three loss teams
in the twelve team playoff. I truly do, because you're
gonna go through a much tougher road in the Big
ten in the SEC than you ever would in the
ACC or the Big twelve or any of these mid
majors are I guess you could say non Power four
leagues now that you've been given a spot in the
playoffs too. I used to fight for those teams aren't
he now? After seeing them just lay an egg in
(01:39:54):
the playoffs, I don't want to see him there again.
Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
I know ratings are great anyway, but do you think
ratings will go up a bit because of the new
conference settings and the new rivalries that we're gonna have
or not?
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
Really? Yes, because you're getting bangers. What do the TV
networks want? They want bangers. They want the best teams
playing each other week in and week out. And I'll
tell you what those Oklahoma main games, what do you
have like Texas versus Corpus Christie games like that, They're
gonna go away when TV pays more, but not SCCD.
Speaker 2 (01:40:26):
But it's not like UCLA and USC are chuggingnuts right now.
But yet people are still gonna want to watch them
play when they play with the Michigan's in the Ohio States.
Speaker 1 (01:40:34):
Yeah, man, you kidding me, aren't you? I mean? I
sure as he would much rather watch USC Michigan than
USC Arizona. I sure would rather watch USC take on
Ohio State than to have them watch and play Oregon State.
To be honest with you, Sorry, your fans, It's just
you're getting bangers. You're getting great matchups. Week in and
(01:40:54):
week out. All right, when we come back to the
tyrack dot com studios, Arntie has a secret Roman numeral
that he did not include in the original rundown. We'll
get to it next on Fox Sports Radio. All right,
it's Arnie and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday. So
I wanted during the summer, as we get past what
(01:41:14):
I thought was going to be a crazy night with
NBA free agency that's been a bit of a bust,
if you will, I wanted to come up with a
weekly list. I know Ben Mallor revolts against a list,
right right, I love him, Arnie loves him. Week one,
we did a list of the top five sports TV shows.
We punted last week because Arnie wanted to do a
(01:41:35):
list of the top five ways to die worst ways
to die, right, and I didn't feel like getting the
show canceled. So this week you came a little more
sportsy theme. In fact, so sportsy that you didn't even
include it in the rundown that you said.
Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
I had a lad, I just didn't take the snapshot
and send it to you.
Speaker 1 (01:41:52):
Yeah, and just so you know, Arnie writes out everything
on a notepad, and screenshots it and sends it to
me instead of you know, typing it out and mailing it.
But it's fine, is what it is. So what's your
top five list this week? Arnie?
Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
My five most overrated quarterbacks? And I'm not just talking
about quarterbacks like you know, you go down to the
bottom and you know, you just pick out some ones
that are just not very good. I'm talking about ones
that people actually like and you know, and there's a
healthy debate on whether you think he's a great quarterback
(01:42:27):
or a good quarterback or something like that.
Speaker 1 (01:42:29):
Okay, all right, So why don't you start with number
five this time? The beginning number one? Number five?
Speaker 2 (01:42:34):
And it doesn't go strictly by status because all these
quarterbacks have have pretty good statistic.
Speaker 1 (01:42:38):
This is Arnie's opinion.
Speaker 2 (01:42:40):
It's just my opinion, and this is more like the
sniff test. Number five is justin Herbert, I mean, slowed
down on the way to the Hall of Fame for
this guy, you know what I mean? All your was
especially after the second season when he put over five
dollars in yards pass league. Just the matter in time
now before the Chargers go ahead and win the Super Bowl,
just a matter of time they're just a piece or
(01:43:02):
two away. Maybe it's unfair because they had such a
bad year last year, but I feel he gets just
so much hype for really, what have you accomplished in
what the five years? Thank goodness I didn't end up
with him over to ucause I'd be crying like you
wouldn't believe. But I got him in number five. Chris,
you like that would or No?
Speaker 1 (01:43:21):
Not really? I like Justin Herbert. I think he's a
good quarterback. He got hurt last year, and he has
just as many playoff wins as Tua does. So anyway,
go ahead, number five, Justin Herbert. Number four.
Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
I think you're gonna guess who I'm gonna pick at
number four?
Speaker 1 (01:43:36):
Are these all current guys? Yeah? Okay, probably dak Well.
Speaker 2 (01:43:41):
I have him on the list, but he's not at
number four. Another quarterback that I've always been critical of,
and I'm like, gee, how many interceptions and fubbles is
he gonna have this year? Trevor Lawrence, No, Lamar Jackson. Okay,
I mean, look at the numbers he's up, and then
look at the wins that this guy gets in the playoffs.
(01:44:04):
And there's a lot of times where they've been like
one of the favorites to go to the super Bowl
and they've come up short. They've lost in the playoffs
in the first round. I just feel that he's just
overrated for the way everybody's talking about him and the
big contract he got. So I have him at number four.
I know you love him. Number three I think you
already guessed him was Trevor Lawrence. I when he was
(01:44:27):
coming into the league, I thought this guy was going
to be the next superstar. The way people were talking
about Caleb Williams was the way I was talking about
Trevor Lawrence. I thought this guy, we might as well
just put him in the Hall of Fame right there,
and then he was going to be everything and a
bag of chips. Far from it. Yes, he's helped turn
around the team and they did make the playoffs. Yeah,
(01:44:50):
so you know, I give him credit for that, but
really far less than all the credit that everybody's talking
about him and the big fan fear that he came
into the end.
Speaker 1 (01:45:01):
He did get hurt last year. I mean he was
hurt last season, but again, injuries only matter to Arnie.
If your last name is are your first two too? Yeah, exactly.
Number two.
Speaker 2 (01:45:11):
I put Josh Allen. I think you're gonna be a
little surprised about that, though it seems like half the
Buffalo Bills fans are kind of getting taken Josh Allen
out there, and I think, you know, the last couple
of years, the late run in the second half of
the season has actually saved them. Plus, the AFC's has
not been a very good division, considering the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (01:45:33):
Are without Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (01:45:34):
You didn't get the Dolphins with two years ago, and
they tanked down the stretch last year because of the injuries,
and the Jets are a complete mess.
Speaker 1 (01:45:43):
The injuries are an excuse for the Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
Yes, exactly, So I put Josh Allen a number two,
though I expect him, out of all the quarterbacks on
this league, to be the first quarterback to probably get
a Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (01:45:56):
And number one.
Speaker 2 (01:45:56):
I had Dak Prescott on the list as the most
over right a quarterback, and maybe again it's unfair in
this situation, but all we hear about it seems like
for the last gazillion years is the contract that Dak Prescott,
whether he just he can sign it ten minutes later,
we're gonna go what happens when it's gonna be up.
Though it seems like for years we've been talking about
(01:46:19):
how much he's been making, and you know, is there
gonna be enough money for everybody else and they have
to make cuts and obviously you look and to see
the playoff record. I just put Dak in number one
of my top five most overrated.
Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
So again number five of most overrated, which, by the way,
I don't see anyone ranking Dak Prescott high. I hear
everyone fighting about his contract and that's it.
Speaker 2 (01:46:42):
Oh constantly with the contract.
Speaker 1 (01:46:44):
Justin Herbert five, Lamar Jackson four, Trevor Lawrence three, Josh
Allen two, and Dak one. Yes, all of these but
like one have more playoff wins than Tuoa more.
Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
Two is not highly yeah, two is not you know,
highly built up like these guys are, though.
Speaker 1 (01:47:07):
He is on this damn show everything all right, when
we come back to the Ti rock dot Com studios,
we'll get your reaction to Arnie's most Overrated Quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (01:47:17):
But we can put Joe Burrows on that list if
you want to.
Speaker 1 (01:47:20):
Joe Burrows, Yeah, I think you should too. Steve Sager
comes rolling in. What you got, Steve, that's Burrows.
Speaker 6 (01:47:26):
Plural NBA free agency negotiating windows started today. By the way,
the new salary cap is about one hundred and forty
million dollars per team. James Harden will sign with the
LA Clippers two years seventy million dollars, including a player option.
The Clippers plan to sign Derek Jones X of Dallas
three years thirty million dollars, and the Athletics says his
(01:47:48):
deal with the Clips is fully guaranteed, no options, and
quote he's a candidate to be starting forward next season
next to Kawhi Leonard in place of the departed Paul George,
who opted out. It was tracked as a free agent
now and was due to talk to Philadelphia tonight. George
will not resign with the Clippers. Philadelphia is signing Andre
Drummond and Eric Gordon. Golden State waved Chris Paul. He
(01:48:09):
intends to sign with the Spurs. The Wizards get center
Jonas Valenschunas, and Orlando agreed to a deal with Contavious
Caldwell Pope. Detroit plans to give Cad Cunningham a five
year max rookie extension. The Pistons new head coach will
be JB. Bickerstaff in the WNBA three games wins for
New York, Minnesota, and Indiana, which won at Phoenix eighty
(01:48:30):
eight eighty two a near triple double for Caitlin Clark
fifteen points, nine rebounds, twelve assists. She had six turnovers
as well. US men's soccer plays Monday night and might
be exiting Copa America. Then it will likely need to
beat first place Uruguay to advance. A tie likely will
not be good enough. The game will be from Kansas City,
where it's due to be warm and windy. Still FS
(01:48:51):
one will have it. The US and Panama are tied
for second in this group, each with one win and
one loss so far, but Panama gets to play last
play Bolivia on Monday in Orlando. Those games will start
at the same time, and even if the Americans advance,
its quarterfinals will likely be against Brazil or Columbia next
Saturday in Arizona, and the US already played Columbia in
(01:49:13):
a tuna match this month and lost five to one.
In fact, for coach Greg Berhalter, the record for the
US men since October is five to five and one,
so as Jason Smith said, weeknights there might be US
men's soccer fans that are hate watching this game tomorrow night,
kind of for the long play. Can you just crash
out of the tournament already here if it means they
(01:49:35):
change the coach and we actually get something going as approach.
Speaker 2 (01:49:39):
You're not going to change him even if he does lose.
Someone said so. One of the experts said that.
Speaker 6 (01:49:44):
It's not a guarantee. We do have two years to
go until the US is co host of the World Cup.
We will be hosting, in fact, most of the games
of that tournament in our NFL stadiums in a couple
of years. Mexico is really at the what is it,
the nadier the bottom. I don't know if they bottomed out,
but they are out of this tournament, losing in Arizona
(01:50:05):
in front of sixty two thousand fans tonight in a
zero zero tie against Ecuador, and Mexico needed a win
to advance Venezuela as a shocking three to zero after
beating last place Jamaica three to nothing, and Brazil's group
finale is Tuesday against Colombia. By the way, the US
will be without Tim Way, whose suspension was extended to
(01:50:27):
two games today for his punch to the back of
the head of an opponent when they played Panama and
lost to him this past week. And we don't know
about the availability of US goalkeeper Matt Turner. He heard
a leg in a collision first half of last game,
made it till halftime and then was replaced. Coach says
Turner did limited training yesterday and again today, but would
(01:50:47):
not say whether expects him to be in goal or
not at the Euros in the round of sixteen. An
incredible comeback for England today, Oh that was great. Defeated
Slovakia in overtime two to one with a goal in
the final minute of regulation and then a goal in
the opening minute up.
Speaker 2 (01:51:02):
It was that the first shot on goal for them
when they scored yes late in regulation, the first one.
Speaker 6 (01:51:08):
All other shots flew past the frame of the goal.
Unbelievable and somehow they were losing. In fact, the announcer,
who's very good Ian Dark, who Fox is using for
this tournament, who's from Britain, said at one point with
a minute to go, it looks like you can put
this game on the list of most embarrassing defeats in
(01:51:29):
England's history, and then they score late regulation and score
early in overtime to win.
Speaker 7 (01:51:35):
Amazing.
Speaker 6 (01:51:36):
England will face Switzerland in the quarterfinals. The Swiss eliminated
Italy yesterday to nothing. Yeah, we talked about no history
for Mexico, and I mean no history on the world stage.
England since they won the World Cup when they hosted
it in nineteen sixty six, has not won a single
major tournament in almost sixty years. And yet, as you
(01:51:58):
hear from Alexei Lawless the Fox coverage, sometime he is
just so sick of their fans thinking that they are something.
I mean, even when at the last years England was
hosting the tournament and they had this song that was
playing over and over. It's coming home, like the trophy's
coming home. It's never been there in the first place. Okay,
Spain's been very good in the tourney. It beat Georgia
(01:52:19):
four to one. In fact, outshot him thirty five to
four today. Georgia, this is not the SEC Georgia, this
is the Republic of Georgia. Their only score today came
on an own goal for a one nothing lead. But
they're out. Spain plays against host Germany next and the
Eurofinal is going to be in Berlin in a couple weeks.
That same day it would be uh Wimbledon Men's Final,
(01:52:40):
Eurofinal on Fox, COPA America Final on Fox and the
end of the first half of the baseball season when
the All Star Break gets to us and officially, Gunner
Henderson of the Orioles said, tonight he will be in
the Home Run Derby, And did you see MLB change
the rules for this month's home Run Derby? Now just
forty pitches within each player's three minute round. Batters had
(01:53:01):
averaged forty three swings per round last year. Hurrying up
and they said, you know, I don't want to risk
injury and this is not at all like batting practice.
Can we just slow it down somehow? So there will
be a pitch limit in the round. And also there's
not a head to head bracket like a little March
Madness in the first round anymore. They just have the
eight hitters in the first round in the top four.
Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
Will you know what the singer about? Buddy Bernie said,
there was a talk about getting the old timers to
go be in the home run Contest and have the
old Timers Homewrun Contest to cut with a short fence. Yeah,
Griffy and some of those guys. But it kind of
you know, petered out.
Speaker 7 (01:53:35):
You know, I would like that, But I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:53:37):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (01:53:38):
I love that.
Speaker 6 (01:53:38):
It's got to be some short of short fence. I mean,
these guys are long retired.
Speaker 1 (01:53:43):
Not that short right easy. When you said my buddy, Bernie,
are you talking about Bernie Fratto, Yeah, you could say
Bernie Pratto from here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:53:51):
I thought I thought everybody knew my bad he's not
our buddy.
Speaker 1 (01:53:55):
Apparently, I guess they're cool enough to be friends with.
Speaker 6 (01:53:59):
Yes, Arnie's Simone Biles won the gymnastics all around at
the US Trials. Tonight, NASCAR win for Joey Logano in overtime.
The Sunday night baseball game went to Texas eleven to
two at Baltimore. Wyatt Langford hit for the cycle at
four hits four RBIs. Houston won in eleven innings over
the Mets. Colorado won in fourteen innings at the White Sox.
Philly came back to beat Miami seven to six, and
(01:54:21):
the Yankees won eight to one. At Toronto. Aaron Judge
with a two run homer in the first he has
thirty one homers this year. Aaron Judge, by the time
he hits a thousand games played, is going to have
three hundred home runs already in his career, which would
be the record. By the end of this regular season,
it'll be almost exactly a thousand games played. He's up
to two hundred and eighty eight homers. Let's compare Willie
(01:54:44):
Mays had a long career. He played three thousand games
for his six hundred and sixty home runs. It'll be
three hundred homers already for Judge in his first one
thousand games's his career.
Speaker 1 (01:54:56):
Back to you, thanks, Steve, have a great week, man
than joing Seger. When we come back to the Tirack
dot Com studios, Arnie's picks, and a few updates on
NBA free agency and what we're hearing right here on
Fox Sports Radio. SEC. Baby, let's go for coming for you. Yeah,
(01:55:20):
it's same for you, same for you, and I'm fine
with it. Hey, if we lose a few more games,
that's great. But as much as we got to be
aware of the SEC, SEC's got to be aware of Oklahoma.
I'll throw Texas in there. They've been rolling. Let's go baby.
This is what every sports fan would want, their team
competing at the highest level, their their team competing against
(01:55:41):
the best. It's a great feeling, man, it's a great feeling.
Speaker 2 (01:55:45):
I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (01:55:46):
I would ask you how it feels, but you would
have that. Hey, coming up, Ben Mallor will be next.
Great job by Patrick and Mary tonight, back keeping things
on the tracks, they found the Arnie karaoke video, which
is fantastic. Steve de Seger crushed it on Updates tonight,
and the millions and millions of editors behind the scenes
(01:56:06):
chopping up all the great audio that in the midst
of waiting for something huge to happen in NBA Free agency.
I don't think I played any of it. I mean,
NBA Free agency is so boring that ESPN Sports Center
has now re aired its featured piece on this female referee,
Like I saw that. Well, we've been on the air tonight.
I don't know the story. I don't know what's going on.
(01:56:27):
I've got to watch it now, but I've seen this
thing like eight times during our show tonight and they're
sitting back. Will someone please sign Paul George, please, somebody
do something? All right, already take it away. Where are
your picks taking us tonight?
Speaker 2 (01:56:39):
All right, there's not a lot to pick on. I
had the research far and wide to come up with
a couple of picks here, but you know I found
the few.
Speaker 1 (01:56:48):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:56:49):
First of all, let's just wrap up free agency. Klay
Thompson is going to be a member of the LA Lakers.
That's I'll be shocked when it's all said and done.
Unsigned with the Lakers. And I'm hoping this is more
of a hope fingers crossed that Hartenstein stays with the
New York Knicks. If not, he's gonna go to your
(01:57:09):
Olkloma City. You have Thunder Chris, and that's gonna be
a good pickup by you, guys.
Speaker 1 (01:57:13):
Huge.
Speaker 2 (01:57:14):
That's that's gonna be a great one. United States, Go USA,
Go usay go. They will beat Uruguay two to one
and keep their hopes alive in the COPA Championship. I
know a lot of people have given up on Team USA.
I just can't. So I think they get the two
to one victory, and Chris we got the Nathan's Hot
(01:57:37):
Dog eating contest. I wonder how many people are not
gonna watch him as Joey Chesnutt is not gonna.
Speaker 7 (01:57:43):
Be in it.
Speaker 1 (01:57:44):
I wonder how many people won't even know that he's
not in it until they turn it on. That's a
good possibility.
Speaker 2 (01:57:49):
Also, the over under, I think it's seventy three dogs
with him not in it. I'm gonna take the under
unless somebody really steps up out on sea.
Speaker 1 (01:58:00):
I'm gonna go with you on this. So there you
have my picks.
Speaker 2 (01:58:02):
Do with the midge of please no longer strictly for
entertainment purposes only there.
Speaker 1 (01:58:06):
Chris, boy, we really are in tough times right now.
You're not even picking baseball games. Oh forget the baby.
I made the hot dog pick. Though, you make one
baseball or one soccer prediction, and then you kind of
dive into well, free agency, hot dog? Did you did
you give a free agency prediction in there?
Speaker 2 (01:58:26):
I said Hartenstein to the Knicks and uh and Klay
tops into the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (01:58:31):
Okay, well, but you've been saying that all night long.
Speaker 2 (01:58:34):
I know, but I'm gonna stick with that though.
Speaker 1 (01:58:36):
Wait, this is uhly becoming a terrible segment. Wow, well,
I can't help it.
Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
There's no games going on. Well, I mean, you've you've
given the All Star Games not going on.
Speaker 1 (01:58:46):
You've got all these brilliant parlays that you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:58:50):
Wait, did you like that idea of the senior home
run contest some of the old guys. That'd be fantastic.
Speaker 1 (01:58:56):
I would like that, actually, I would like But I
don't want it to be saw. I don't want it
to be like slow pitch softball. I want him to
I want it to be heaters. I want him to
get like gas. I want to have a machine. I
think it might be a machine. So where where did
this come from? Is this you guys made this up?
Or is it PERTY actually heard it?
Speaker 2 (01:59:15):
It was it was gaining uh steam, matter of fact,
I heard it Like Ken Griffy Junior was the one
that really really wanted to do it. I don't know
who backed out and who they were going to get,
but I know he was one of the names.
Speaker 1 (01:59:27):
All Right, well do you want to wrap up some tweets?
Are you good with that? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:59:31):
Sure that we got so many we have any taken
hardly enough.
Speaker 1 (01:59:34):
Chris writes, how dare you say Bills fans are getting
sick of Josh Allen? You can't find a single actual
Bills fan who was sick of him. I promised that,
mister Dolphin fan, that's not true. That's not true at all. Well,
I mean you could find a fan somewhere. There's like, dude,
I'm tired of Patrick Mahomes as a chief school back.
I just that's how dumb fans are. Jonathan writes, how
dare you speak ill of my beeves? Put some respect
(01:59:57):
on it. Listen. I was just pointing out not a
lot of people watch Oregon State football games. Just moving on.
If they did, they'd be in a bigger, more sensitive tonight.
Dak Prescott was given a contract of forty million dollars
over two or three seasons, I can't remember which, and
he has barely taken the Dallas Cowboys into the playoffs.
(02:00:17):
You talk about overrated, Oh my gosh, well he was
number one on Arnie's most overrated list of course.
Speaker 2 (02:00:22):
Yeah, Darryl Darrell agrees with me one on one.
Speaker 1 (02:00:24):
Also wait, wait, Daryl, just sitting one in. I didn't
see it.
Speaker 2 (02:00:27):
Go ahead, it says here stick of genius are and
you misspoke the playoff win that Lamar has no s
He has two MVP's one playoff win. Pathetic. He's not
very good, great athlete, overrated quarterback.
Speaker 1 (02:00:44):
I kind of feel like he's making the point that
he is a good quarterback when he says he has
two MVP awards. But then again, I guess team's success
would overcome all of it, right, right, Yeah, exactly. It's
just I don't really know who's a better option. When
you sit there and you're like, oh, I think that
guy's overrated. I mean, he's predamn good in my book.
(02:01:07):
And then, of course, the most important thing that happened tonight,
the Oklahoma Sooners are now in the SEC. Let's go
Okay graduations, big boy, that's what you wanted. Let's go
all right, I already have a great week. Enjoy everyone,
have a great fourth Thursday, fourth of July, Arnie said
on the fourth of July with Bernie for Jason and
Mike for Mary, for Patrick for de Segur for Arnie
(02:01:28):
on plank stick around Big Ben Malaris next to the
sports radio
