Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio rad Let's go.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Stinking, let's go, big boy, let's go, let's go. Whoa
you saw a little horse there? You're okay or what?

Speaker 3 (00:12):
No?

Speaker 4 (00:12):
No, No, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I sound a horse
off the top. I apologize.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I just figured you were partying like a rock star.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
No, I have a show with you to do. Are
you kidding me?

Speaker 4 (00:21):
I've got to I've got to sort through the eighty
six different rundowns you send in for the show throughout
the day.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
He keep me busy, he keep me.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
I watched it. Could I just start off with this
real quick.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
I know we do have a lot.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I know, I know. I'm I am a little nervous today.
I'm I'm on edge. So I just want you to
know that if I if I seem a little jumpy today,
because I did get an email from my neighbors. Okay,
maybe well they said, and this went out to the
whole neighborhood that there was I guess a black bear

(00:54):
in the neighborhood running around. So I locked my doors
and stuff. But I figured they could bust through doors
pretty easily, can't they? There it was a pretty big one.
I did arm myself with three different things, and I'm thinking,
what would mcguiver do?

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Uh would you decide to arm yourself with? Well?

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Mcgiver's not really the guy to think. Who would I?
You know, look at I mean, who would be my
mentor on this? Who would help? But you're kind of
an outdoorsman. I have a bat, but I think a
big black bear would would be like hitting him with
a toothpick. Wouldn't you think?

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Sure? You don't want you don't want to go them?
Don't don't go to the bat, now, don't go with
the base.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I have one of the I have a knife, but
it's more like a butter knife that I had to
get from the kitchen drawer, so I I don't know
if I could hurt it with that. And then of
course I got the you know what, you kill spiders
with a lighter and like a light saw spray, So
you use that? Is that? Is that the best way
to go? So if it comes charging at me, I

(01:53):
just break out like a big lighter and the light
saw and see if I could scare it a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Well, one of two things will happen.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Number one, you'll you'll truly scare it and you'll get
rid of it, or our number two, you'll burn your
house down. So I mean it's kind of your choice where.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
It could eat me. I don't want to eat me.
I don't know why this happens around here. I don't understand.
There's there's homes here, people live kind of close. I
are you leaving your garbage out on the out of
the patio, you know, thrown away like begs so the
bears can go ahead and eat it. And I supposedly
a pretty big bear. I'm like, we'll get the And

(02:30):
there's somebody game and fishing warden that makes rounds here,
that that that drives around that captures the black bear.
I don't understand why I can't even go outside now,
and it's driving away crazy.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I'm gonna go out on a limb here.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
I'm gonna assume that Patrick and Kyrius don't have bear
problems out in Los Angeles right now.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
I'm gonna California is our national animal is the bear.
So I mean there I did see some bears at
like on TV, like are on the greens on golf.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
Actually, Steve actually wants a chime in on this one.

Speaker 7 (03:04):
Gus albums actually just east of Pasadena. All those cities
are at the foothills, and the bears can come down
from the hills and literally on the news this past
week in Los Angeles, a bear was swimming in a
family's pool in that.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
I saw that. I thought you were going to say
that the outdoorsmen, and.

Speaker 7 (03:25):
No, this is not a first. What you see on
the news over here with the bears in Los angelesciny
once every other week, pretty.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Much Argientina with the gold Baby's. Oh they're going to
call him off side, never mind, nil nil nil nil,
and the Copa America.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Fine.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
I thought I was able to beat you, and I
thought I was able to beat you and breaking news
on you.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yeah, I'm sorry they called them off sides. Okay, So
I have an update for you, Arnie.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Yes, yes, go ahead.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
According to the.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Vermont Department a Fish and Wildlife, they're urging Vermonters to
take down bird feeders, cure their garbage, and put up
electric fences, and be more bear aware because apparently this
This headline says the Fish and Wildlife Department expects this
year will be a hard year in the world of

(04:14):
bare human coexistence.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
I can't do that. I don't have. I barely have
human to human coexistence. I can't have bear to human.
It's gonna attack me. I can be walking to my
jeep from the market and it comes to bear and
charge it at me or something that I don't need.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
That that's not a very bare aware attitude.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Easy, easy, yogi, back down. Come on now.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
I mean you're the one that has the picnic baskets
all the time, the desserts.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Yeah, I mean you've got food that you're laying around
in You're still I don't have them.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
You know.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
You know what's funny is my wife has like a
garden in the back that can feed like it feed countries.
I'm like, what are you doing? What do you What
are you doing? What are you growing back there? So
I'm sure the it just comes to our house to
feast and then it will be running into me when
I'm sitting in the backyard.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
I think it's going for you right now.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
I don't look.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
I don't know how to defend myself against it too,
do I. It's not like a shark where you punch
it in the nose, do you? Nothing like that?

Speaker 7 (05:18):
Arnie Spaniard is bear down, you get them, By the way,
they tell the LA residents, make sure to collect any
fruit that falls from your trees. Don't have a lyon around,
don't put out your trash cans the night before. Maybe
spray ammonia on it so they don't get the scent.
But this is a problem.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
I live around a bunch of old people. They put
their trash out three days ahead of time. It's discussed.

Speaker 7 (05:43):
Coyotes are also a problem here too.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah, yeah, all right, well I'll just get by. What
can I do? I'll figure it out there.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Fine, Can I give you the three other things here?

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Sure, one of these you're really good at. Okay, So
they say the best way to a plot bears.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Talk dolphins to it? What what's the best way? Go ahead?

Speaker 3 (06:03):
If you encounter a bear?

Speaker 4 (06:05):
The AI overview on Google says, number one, make noise.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
You're good at that.

Speaker 7 (06:11):
I am good at that, Chris, I'm not kidding. I
know people who when they go for a walk, they
carry an empty soda can with rocks in it to
ward off coyotes. And this is in the suburbs, not
in the hills.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
The other thing is that you could appear large, Arnie.
It says, spread your arms.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
There is no problem.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Wow, geez, I'm already scared.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Bear spray? Do you have bear spray? I mean, what
is what is bear spray?

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Like?

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Is it something you can go buy at Walmart in Vermont?
Or I mean, I don't know if I'm familiar this,
yere use bear spray. If the bear gets close to you,
you can spray it with bear spray.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I don't know if that were today people use bear
spray's but knock out here? Come on, man, I don't
know if that really works.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Wait a minute, did you just say they used bear
spray like banaka?

Speaker 8 (07:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Like that? You know, like that, Oh my gosh, you
wouldn't throwback for many years.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
Wouldn't be able to catch your breath. Use it that way?

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Be a drop? Knock a drop in fifteen minutes. That's good?

Speaker 2 (07:24):
That on your cards? Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
I hope we helped. Do you feel better? You feel
like you're accomplishing a way to be safe here?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
And I think I'm gonna grab the butter knife and
just go for you know, I went for the best
that I would.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
So it's just one other note. So were you on
the back door app? I mean, how did everyone is it?
Do you guys? You're with older people in your neighborhood.
So when they put letters in your mailbox, how were
you aware of this?

Speaker 2 (07:49):
It's a well, they send everybody an email in my
immediate neighborhood and then there's a an app where they
you know, for like the whole neighborhood where everybody gossips
against each other and said there was a big black
bear in their neighborhood.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
So gotcha.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
By the way, little known fact about Arnie Spanier still
has an AOL email account. Well, as we come to
you live tonight from the tire rack dot com studios
tire rack dot com, We'll help you get there and
unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection and
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirack dot com the way
tire buying should be. Are you into this? Are you
watching the America?

Speaker 2 (08:26):
I was in tune to when they were sneaking in
like the Shawshank Redemption, when they were going through the pipes,
I'm like, let's go, let's go, let's get in there.

Speaker 7 (08:34):
I believe they were sneaking out.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
I think we're going backwards here.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
But it was it was great. They were just I mean,
it was they were trying to get in that so
that one guy they had a picture of him on Twitter.
He paid two thousand dollars at ticket. They wouldn't let
him in, and it just seemed absolutely crazy. But I
love the atmosphere. I love watching that. I love people
that are getting totally into it.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Zero zero.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
So we'll see what happens.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
As a Dolphins fan, he's never seen this many people
wanting to go out into this stadium.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Number one and number two.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
It's so funny.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited. I'm with you.
It's look at the passion of these fans trying. It's
a problem, Arnie. That's that's a problem. I mean, I
how are they gonna what if these guys decide to
storm the field? What if they decide what if something happens?
And because I'm gonna go on a limb, Steve, what
is it looks like it's a majority of Columbia fans, right, Yeah?

(09:31):
What if something happens and they get host and they're like, well,
we just got in here, We're gonna take this place over.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
How in the world are you gonna stop them?

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (09:39):
I mean, this is a disaster. This is a disaster waiting.
I can't believe they still played this game.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Also on that same thing, one of the people like,
we have tickets, but people won't move out of our seats,
and they're saying there's nothing they can do. They're just underprepared,
they're understaffed for this type of crowd. So I mean, yeah,
that is a problem, there's no doubt about that.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
By the way, can you imagine that if you and
I and again I don't know what the going rate
for the tickets were for this event.

Speaker 7 (10:05):
Army that was massive on the resale market.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Oh was it really? Okay? Okay, yeah, because.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
That guy has already talked about said the two thousand
dollars tickets. But I want you to imagine you're going
to an event and you go to your seat and
you've paid a grand for those seats, and there's two
I don't know, uh, I would say sooners, right, because
then we go in and steal all the land, but
there's two squatters that are there in your seat, and

(10:32):
you go to security like, hey, they're in my seat,
and security goes, sorry, I can't do anything about it.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Oh that's happened to me before, where when I went
to yik, he stated, Me and my buddies got tickets. Now,
we had to pay a thousand dollars a seat, but
we got seats to the right field pavilion. He told
me story once.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yeah, yeah, we sho.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Showed up like that in the second or third inning
and it was just packed. It was just jam packed.
And I said to the guy, Hey, those guys are
in our seat. And he looked at me. He goes,
are you serious You show up here the third inning
and you think of kick about it? He goes, He goes,
get the blank out of here and go to the
other side before I throw you outa here.

Speaker 6 (11:10):
The guy was.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Actually mad at me for suggesting that you take people
out of my seat. They're playing.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Now.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Can I just pause because I understand that everything does
come back.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
To you and it's all about you, of course.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
But can you at least accept this is an infinitely
different situation than what you dealt with that one time
when you showed up to a game in the third inning.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I mean, we're talking about.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
We're talking about a mass of humanity that I don't
know if this thing starts going south, arn he if
there is anything that they could do to make sure
that everybody's safe. I mean, this is I mean, if
this happened in an NFL game, if something like this
had taken place, I mean, I don't even people would

(11:53):
be clowning to NonStop. I don't know if they would
play the game.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Now. Again, maybe there's a little bit of over dramatics
to it.

Speaker 7 (12:00):
No, you were right on this, and I don't think
it would happen NFL to this degree because the game
would be organized by the NFL. In this case, it's
South American Soccer Federation, which is this is hardly the
first problem in this Copa America tournament. Getting that. We've
talked about this before in this show. Getting a grass
field on top of artificial turf NFL stadiums at other

(12:22):
places has been a big complaint, including the very first
game with Argentina. This place in Miami with the Dolphins play.
It used to like when they had BCS national titles there.
It used to hold eighty thousand. Then they redid it,
and you know, there's actual shade spots now and sixty
five thousand is the capacity way more than sixty five
thousand there. As the game was going on in the

(12:44):
first half to night security was actively going through the crowd,
trying to check the tickets and removing the fans.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
I said, no, what would they do? Would people stop?

Speaker 2 (12:57):
It is packed?

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Worried though about this, Arnie, You're you're you're confident they
got this under control.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
This is funny, all right, now, that'd be one. I mean,
God forbid something happens. Hopefully, you know there's more police
buy But I mean right now things are going well,
and it's a close game. I mean, obviously it's going
to come down the some extra time or penalty kick,
so it's going to be very dramatic.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
I was very happy as we welcome you into the
tyrack dot com studios on a Sunday night into a
Monday morning here with Arnie and Plank. I was very
happy to see that you had my trip here to
SEC media days as big story number one.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
But I also still about that.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Nothing has happened yet. I don't know how many times
I have to tell you this. It doesn't start until
Monday we get down. I mean I've told you like
twelve times. It's like, hey, how to go today? Everything
go good? Yeah, I drove here. That's what we did, Arnie.

Speaker 7 (13:46):
That was it he's used to do everything else.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
I know, right, I mean the Big twelve was last week.
It was in Las Vegas, right, I mean that was
that was cool. They did their thing on I think
Tuesday and Wednesday, maybe Wednesday or Thursday. But we're getting
things underway. Manyana, and I don't know about you. On
my college football timeline right now is flooded with people
talking about the damn video game. I don't really know
how many x's and knows there are to be talked about,

(14:11):
but you can read out.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I mean yesterday I was shocked about that. What's that
the college football twenty twenty five that's coming out?

Speaker 4 (14:19):
Well, because you got listen. Man, I'm forty nine years old.
I can't go to my wife and say, hey, are
kids that don't play video games?

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Can we get a new PlayStation?

Speaker 4 (14:29):
I mean I'd be getting it for me just to
be able to play the new college football game. And
I'm already tired of everyone tweeting about what they're going
to do in the college football game. It's like, just
play the game. I don't need a live record of it.
But is there anything about talking season? Is there anything
from the SEC week that will be You're gonna get
a lot of college football crammed down your throat this week.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Is there anything you're intrigued by? Is there anything that Arnie.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Spanier is excited about about, hearing about, or even diving
into this week?

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Well? Again, you know, I love the media predictions. I
want to see how that goes out. I also want
to see what all the other teams have to say
about Oklahoma and Texas coming on. And I'm curious to
see if they show you guys a lot of respect,
which I'm sure they will, or if anybody takes a
shot at you guys or dig at you guys and
they're going on to ah you think so? Really I didn't.

(15:17):
I didn't think they'd have the guts to do it
right off the bat.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
If you haven't been around the SEC, you know how
you feel about Arizona, Arnie, take that those times in no, no, no,
how you feel about Arizona, how you feel about your Wildcats,
how you feel about your team? All right, take that
time's infinity, and that's how these people feel about their teams.
So whenever I'm walking into that situation, it is who
do you think you are trying to come in here?

Speaker 3 (15:43):
And do anything in this league.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Right, That's that's what we're dealing with come tomorrow, Tuesday, Wednesday,
and Thursday. So that's that's my world that I live
in right now. So yeah, yeah, there's gonna be Arnie.
It's the best conference in all of college football. I know,
it's got the best tradition, It's got now all the
best rivalries. I mean outside of Michigan, Ohio State, oh
and Arizona Arizona State. Sorry, but I'm just I mean,

(16:08):
it's it's gonna be. It's gonna be probably a little caddy.
And let's face it, Texas A and m and Texas
people co existing. You know, these are two media groups
that have n't been around and two teams that haven't
been amongst each other for a while. And I don't
get me wrong, I don't. No one's gonna have any issues.
They're not gonna be hands thrown member.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
It is not like Anchorman, where there's gonna be you know,
a square off and having weapons and bats and stuff
like that.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
You know.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
No, Oh, I hope not. I mean, because if not,
I am definitely not armed. I'd be like you going
after a bear with a butter knife. But you've got
your Arnie's got a couple more lists for us tonight.
He's got his top five wide receivers after his very
controversial top five quarterback lists last night, and the.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
People were doing their top five quarterback lists, and a
lot of people were close to what I had, at
least three, maybe four of the same quarterbacks in a
top five. So I demanded an apology from the people
out there.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
For what for your crappy list? Why?

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Because a couple of people media guys have the same
dumb list that you do. Anyway, We're moving on to
wide receivers tonight. But I have for you, stink ingenius,
I have something for you. I have my top five
storylines to keep an eye on leading in to SEC
media Day.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
So got that for you coming up in a bit.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
But when we come back, let's do let's do dive
into a little bit more of college football this week.
Let's do dive into Major League Baseball held its draft
tonight and everybody suddenly became country because it was in
Fort Worth and they wore cowboy hats and they held it.
They had it in a rodeo arena.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
ARENI.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
These guys are getting drafted and they're walking through pictures
of Jim Steers and all the great rodeo guys in
the history of mankind. But there was some interesting angles
that played out and we put a rap on I
guess the quote unquote first half of the MLB season
in as dissipation of the All Star Games. So it's
a busy college football and baseball night with Arnie and

(18:05):
playing on a Fox Sports Sunday.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live. Pally Foods Go. Heare with Tony Foods Go.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (18:22):
As everybody knows, we're the hosts of the award winning
Polly and.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Toni foodsc show. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (18:26):
But instead of us telling you how great we are,
here's how Dan Fatrick described us when he came on
our show.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
You doing interrupting our promo? Yeah, you wasn't talking about you.
You took those clips totally of context.

Speaker 9 (18:42):
Oh yeah, well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Let me put this into context.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Shut up.

Speaker 9 (18:49):
Yeah, anyway, just listening to the Paully and Tony Fosco
Show on iHeartRadio.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
Apple podcasts oherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Yee, it's Arnian playing Comity live from the tyrac Dot studios.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Do you remember when the All Star break used to
be three days? Aren't he?

Speaker 4 (19:05):
It was Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and you get back to baseball.
I'm getting I'm such an old man. Everything makes me
mad now, the stretched out NBA All Star Break which
is like a month, major League Baseball All Star Break
which was like four days now, I mean, I mean
we don't get baseball. We get the All Star Game Tuesday, weet,

(19:25):
the home run derby tomorrow, but we don't get baseball
back till next Friday.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
I just want to ask you, what you know, we
complain about the All Star Game for Major League Baseball,
we complain about the home run contest, and not just
jew I'm just saying we collectively the royal Yeah, the right.
The we complain about the NBA All Star Game. We
complained about the Thursday night game in the NFL, and
then they got the Sunday night the Monday night is

(19:49):
sports actually worse now? With all the complaining we do
it seems like sports is Yes, it is worse. It's
worse now than it was twenty years ago.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
Well, no, no, no, no, I just think there's if if you
would go back twenty years ago, I can remember driving
around listening to Arnie Spaniel and one on one sport.
It's complained about everything too, So it's not like sports
are any worse now. I just I feel like, well, okay,
let me make it. I don't know if this comparison
will work or not, but you tell me. Everyone has

(20:21):
an instant way to let you know how they feel
about things, right. I mean, look look at how many
people are going to go into work tomorrow and not
have a job because of the way they acted after
that tragedy near tragedy, well tragedy, excuse me, yesterday. I
mean two people lost their lives, one person was shot
protecting his family, right, and there's going to be hundreds
of people that are going to go into work and

(20:42):
lose their jobs because they just couldn't help but have
a comment about something, right. I feel like now, Arnie,
I don't know if it's I see what you're asking, right?
Are we in a worse place? Are they less exciting.
Is it less entertaining? I just think that we get
more opportunities for reaction, right. I mean, back in the day,
I had to call one eight hundred seven seven seven two,

(21:03):
I know, seven and wait on hold for forty five
minutes before you finally got to me to cut.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Maybe forty five minutes, maybe a couple of hours.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Maybe a couple of hours if I was a good caller,
but or maybe forty five if I was a good caller.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
A couple of hours if I wasn't.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
But my point is now you can go to your
Twitter feed and Facebook, on Instagram, you can go wherever
you want. You can text and right away everyone know
this sucks. This is terrible, This is awful. So I
don't know if it's any worse. I don't know if
we're getting a worse product. I just feel like everyone
has an opportunity to let you know how they feel
about everything, and usually in this modern era of embraced debate,

(21:40):
the negativity is the thing that I think is magnified
more than any other. I'm not trying to be all
like preachy or trying to make some salient point. I
just I just I don't know that it's any worse.
I just think that everyone has outlets to grinch.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
It's like the news. If you're not talking about the
bad news, the bad news always leads in the story
out there, and that's what people love to complain about.
They never complained about the good stuff that goes on
the less of the fan of that certain team, but
they want to go ahead and talk about the bad stuff,
the complaining out there, even when the teams lose. What
did they complain about in the soccer It was about

(22:13):
the referees. They wouldn't shake hands with the players after
the game. So it's always about the referees and the
complaining before it is about the good stuff.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
So I want to I want to do something we
don't do very often in this show. I want to
look back. Can we go back?

Speaker 4 (22:28):
Because Josh asks a very good question on the Arnie
and I have had a chance to do shows together
now back to back nights. Arnie's back Tomorrow Night are
you with the Martin or Tomorrow Night vbj mej Husky,
So you get a lot of Arnie here. I do
want to revisit real quick your top five quarterback list
because Josh hit us up on Twitter, and he wants

(22:50):
to he's is it all tim or is it current?

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Now? It's just current.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
I don't have it with me.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
I told you I keep every single list, are every
single notes that you for the program.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
It's what I do, Horney, I have to be ready
to go.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
Your top five list of quarterbacks was let's see here
at number five, all right. Number one was Patrick Mahomes,
Number two was Josh Allen, number three was c J. Stroud,
number four was Joe Burrow and number five was two up. Now,
I don't think anyone would have a problem with Patrick
Mahomes number one.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
My issue is.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
You have two guys in your top five that I
don't even think would be in a conversation for the top.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Five, and everybody out in two up, everybody had Mahomes, Allen,
and Burrow in their top five.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
C J.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Stroud member. Based on this upcoming year, and especially after
what he did in last year, I love upside of
c J. Stroud. I mean, I think a lot of
people would say, yeah, sure, I think I'll have a
top five year. And Tua, I mean he just led
the league in passing last year, wed Yard, and so
I mean that's really not going on in love as
far as I'm concerned.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Well, but why is passing the yard it's such a
big deal to you?

Speaker 2 (23:55):
It's not a big deal.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
That's though, I'm asking why such a big deal to you?

Speaker 2 (24:02):
That? And touchdowns compared to interceptions that ratio. I think
that's why.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
I think that's what you should be looking at more
than yards. I mean, anymore, you can pass for five
hundred yards and lose a game by three touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
You just don't like two. And there's always just a
negative connotation. Whenever I bring up to him, people are
just anti two. I'm not sure what it is. They
guy's done everything he found After he out of concussion,
He's like, you know what, I'm gonna find a different
way to fall down so I don't get concussions anymore.
People say, hey, you know you put on a little
way you're not looking at it comes back now. We's
skinny to a doesn't make a difference. We're like, all right,

(24:36):
we're not gonna give you a contract extension until you
can prove what you do. So what does he do?
Last year? Has a phenomenal year, a top three in
just about ever offensive passing rating, But.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
What do you do.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Oh, no, we gotta go. We have so many injuries,
and now we gotta go play in like Antarctica where
it's like freezing, like beyond belief, like you'd never heard
before in your life, and we have to play that.
Of course we're gonna lose. And now we're like, oh,
maybe he's not the quarterback in my gosh, right, you.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Were the person that of course we're gonna lose to Sagar.
You even during that whole it doesn't matter. If it's cold,
it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
There were codes not on the sidelight in the game,
like numbers that I don't know the guys were code.
I can't see his number.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
You're resetting your take and you're not. You told us
that whole week it didn't matter, It didn't matter, didn't
matter at all, Arnie, didn't matter. If it was cold,
didn't matter. You can go in there and play. So
you can't go there and now start making risks.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
I did. I didn't know it was going to be
colder than like the Most Told. The most Told mode
plays endlessly, I told you, but not even not even cold,
like like some plays in freezing antarctica where nothing lives,
even the ice doesn't live and it is just like
so cold and that. Then now you want to play
football in this thing? Yeah, yeah, let's go ahead, we

(25:55):
kick it off. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
We told you that and it didn't matter to you.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
So that's matter too now.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Yes, I think part of it is you change your
mind on him every single week. And that's where it's
not that people don't like Tua. It's people that have
been to a defenders. It's he's the greatest one week,
he's the worst the next. And I think that's part
of it, and that's part of his problem, because I only.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
We did that last year. I think we're pretty happy
with him last year. But then going, ho, di, did
you beat that? We're over five hundred.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
If I got to hear this hams to be rather significant, I'm.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Going to elbow somebody in the throat. If I gotta
hear that this year.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
Why well, then you better beat some teams with winning
records and then you want up to hear it.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
I'm sure I won't.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
Don't lose every game you play against a team that's
over five hundred. All right, When we come back to
the Tirack dot Com Studios, we'll get into list number
two for the night, the top five wide receivers in
the NFL, but first for the first time tonight. In
the body of the program, Steve Seger is in the house.
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (26:51):
Steve?

Speaker 3 (26:51):
Hello, gentlemen.

Speaker 7 (26:52):
It's the Miami Dolphin Stadium that's hosting the Copa America Final.
And when they finally kicked off close to nine to
thirty pm Eastern time, still about eighty five degrees ninety
five on the heat index. The start tonight was delayed
after thousands of fans without tickets had rushed the gates.
They are in overtime now and it continues scoreless as
Columbia's goalie has just made a great say diving to

(27:15):
his right at the goal line. Lionel Messi of number
one ranked Argentina is out. He suffered an injury in
the first half, kept playing, finally had to leave in
the sixty fifth minute. It's an ankle injury after he
took off the ice pack on the bench, a very
swollen ankle. As he sits on the bench and watches
his team try to win this without.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Him, I just want to say this to second you
know we Actui gets no big deal at least, Iaki,
it's no big deal. Okay. So uh they started the
game an hour and a half played, and they were
jamming there, you know, breaking into the field. Could you
imagine if that happened in the NFL. We're like cowboy
fans stormed the stadium and then wanted to get in
it didn't have tickets and overtook the stadium and they

(27:55):
had to start the game an hour off later. What
we would be talking about the next day on sports radio?

Speaker 7 (27:59):
Oh my right, as a playoffs.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (28:02):
When I first heard this was happening tonight, the first
thing I thought of was the stories that I was
told by people we knew that lived in Brazil when
Pele played his last game in Brazil, and they were
doing the same thing because so many thousands more wanted
to be in the stadium than had tickets. And what
turned out to be the case here in Miami tonight
is a lot of people were showing up to the

(28:24):
parking lot and to the stadium many of our circles
without tickets. One parking lot attendant was saying he got
called to work early because fans were starting to arrive
as early as the six am hour. In Miami and
kickoff was eight pm. Finally, the videos that you've seen
probably is fans put that in quotes breaking through the

(28:46):
Southwest gate at hard Rock Stadium, some being tackled, some
being detained by authorities, but they finally said let's just
lock down all the gates, and then there were of
course more incidents with people rushing the gates when they
finally did open them after eight pm Eastern scoreless in
overtime right now on Fox TV, needless to say, a

(29:09):
much anticipated matchup. Argentina was the last team to beat Columbia.
That was two and a half years ago. By the way,
Columbia has outshot Argentina fourteen to eight so far in
this game. Spain won the Eurofinal to one over England
on a goal in the eighty six minute. Earlier in England,
Carlos Alcarez from Spain swept Novak Djokovic to take the

(29:30):
Wimbledon title, his second in a row. Of course, the
British Open is this week. In Scotland, the Scottish Open
ended today and a golfer from Scotland won it, Robert
McIntyre by one strokeover Adam Scott and Spain Sergio Garcia
took the live golf event in Spain in a playoff
NASCAR win at Pokono for Ryan Blaney, his second victory
this season. Major League Baseball is now on All Star Break.

(29:53):
The All Star Game is Tuesday night on Fox TV
from Texas. Rangers star Corey Seeger was added to this
years All Star roster for the AL because of an
injury to Carlos Korea. Texas won at Houston four to
two today. Pitcher Max Scherzer of the Rangers started this
game four innings, six strikeouts, no decision. Eventually Kirby Yates

(30:14):
the save, his sixteenth. His ERA is one point oh
five so far. Another tragedy for the Dodgers, lates Detroit
four to three, the final a thrilling win with two
in the bottom of the ninth. Oakland hit eight home
runs and one at Philadelphia eighteen to three, and the
Orioles are alone in first at the break in the
AL East, a game ahead of the Yankees after beating

(30:34):
New York six ' five. Each team scored three runs
in the ninth.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Back to you, well, thanks Steve.

Speaker 4 (30:41):
We got some really good u X submissions, we got
some good posts.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
We have a lot to start this.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Yeah, I have a lot today.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
And let's hit some of them here real quick. I apologize.
I didn't realize realize you Yeah, I didn't realize how
hot you guys were off the top.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
I saw one.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
I was like, listen that that's a good one from
Josh Okay at Stinking Genius one. I'm at playing show.
Everybody should go follow us at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
You got a lot of bear suggestions.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, yeah, well we're going way back now. You're going
way back to the to the beginning of the show. Now, yeah,
why not.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
You don't want now all of a sudden, you want
to worry about the structure of the show. Now all
this sudden you're gonna come be like, well you know
that's going back too far?

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Okay, all right, no, no, I was go ahead, go ahead,
that's fine.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
There's a lot moneyline bet rights Roman Numeral four.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
How Arnie would have played better than Novak Djokovic tonight?
Would you have been better than he was? Just like
you were going to be better than Joel Embiid was
whenever Team USA played Canada.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Ronnie James in the Summer League.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game. You know it's it's
noon eastern tomorrow. I'm looking forward to see what what
kind of effort USA is going to put into it,
especially because nothing really gets stake. It's just a friendly
so I wonder if it's going to be closer, it's
going to be a ball And I have not seen
a line on that game. Have you happen to see
a line on that one? Chris? I'm gonna have to
try to find.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
That looking for Patrick would have a line for you
know who?

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Too lazy by now, but I want to see if
we can find out what the line is, so I'll
figure it out.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
The man that you need to rely on to make
sure we get guests and we stay on the air
is the person you want to call lazy. Great job
to your point about you know, it seems like people
complain all the time NonStop. Right, everything is a problem,
Everything sucks. I mean, they're mirroring you. Here's Bake. Bake writes,
there's too many sports and games available. Too many choices

(32:32):
breeds contentious opinions. Fewer choices breeds solidarity. So start cutting sports.
Let's start getting read of sports. Well, no more Tennis channel.
I guess it's already gone, right, let's just start getting
no more of this soccer bs. Let's just get rid
of sports. And then I really like this from UCLA
Dodger Frank. He writes, analytics have taken a level of

(32:54):
excitement out of sports for me, at least, because it
takes away from spontaneity, which is essential to the human
element that we watch sports for in the first place.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Do we have to blame math for this?

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Well, you know, coaches are managers no longer make the
starting lineup in baseball, which I find hysterical. It's like
all done by computer and analytics and numbers, and they say, okay,
this is what the computer says is who you should
start based on the numbers. And they say, okay, go ahead,
give it to me. And it does take away from
the human element. I really don't like that to begin with.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
Yeah, I'm not a I'm not a big fan.

Speaker 4 (33:33):
I'm not a big fan of it, especially like I'm
listening to the Major League Baseball Draft tonight. Yeah, like
all the stats they're given, I was like, what what
was his batting average? What was his era? It's all
these numbers and stats. I'm like, I don't whip what
his his spin rate. I mean, I get it, I
understand it. It's it's it's the way you get better.
But it's like, are we too analytical?

Speaker 3 (33:56):
I guess are we too into the numbers? I wasn't
their question.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
You know, it's interesting to say that. I wonder if
you do better now drafting in baseball because you have
all those numbers then you did drafting back thirty years
ago when you didn't have those type of numbers. If
you know, players held on more and they made it
to the big leagues or it was harder to do it.
I wonder if that, if there's any stats like that.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
Yeah, I don't know. It's a good question.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
And then on the Bear conversation, Scottie writes, are we
really going to have to suffer through? Aren't he getting unlived?
On the National radio show tonight? Just start telling that
bear your bets and it will feel sorry for you
and leave politely.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
You to got avoid the only thing I'm avoided about
it because I've seen bear strong enough to break through doors.
So you know, I figure, well I got a lock on,
but I don't have like one of those super duper
locked you know, where you put the you close it
and slides a big steal barrier across the door. You know,
I don't have anything like that usually I don't. Usually
people aren't stealing anything from from my house. At least

(34:56):
all my neighbors are like one hundred and ten years old,
so they didn't.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
Even if they don't tell me you're going to throw
them in front of you, let me get this elder.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
I mean, they've lived longer than I have.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
And I don't have to run fast. I just have
to run faster than them.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
That's true at tennis data, Weren't you just bad mouthing
New Bears quarterback Caleb Williams Arnie it's Bear karma.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
No, it wasn't bad mouthing him. I just don't think
like Plank. Does you already have him.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
In the Hall of Fame?

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (35:26):
He's really good. All right?

Speaker 4 (35:27):
When we got more of your texts coming up, more
of your exes here on a Sunday night, it's Arnie
and Plank.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
When we come back, let's start. I actually have a
Major League Baseball draft take for you. You didn't even
have it on the Roman numeral run. No, I didn't.
What are you doing? We'll get to it next on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
Right, it's already in Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday.

Speaker 4 (35:58):
We're going to uh the second half of extra time, Arnie,
still time to change your pick?

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Scoreless between Argentina and Columbia.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
You know, I've been read hot on my picks about
you have not given me any credit about that.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
You don't pick anything. I do.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
I pick everything, and I've been read hot. And now
you're like, oh, name one, point out? What do you
mean name one? What does what does that mean?

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Name the win?

Speaker 2 (36:20):
I had Spain today.

Speaker 4 (36:22):
I think Spain to you don't need to pick baseball games,
which would be like right up your wheelhouse.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
I mean, tonight, I'm going to be picking the All
Star Game and I'm gonna be doing the home run contest.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
So whoa okay home run? Where are the odds for
degenerates like yourself on the home run contest?

Speaker 2 (36:42):
What do you mean we're the odds? Like? Where did you?

Speaker 3 (36:44):
I don't know?

Speaker 4 (36:45):
Does there need to be more explanation? Like where you
are you going draft kings? Are you going fan duel?

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Where'd you get?

Speaker 2 (36:50):
I think I got these off draft kings.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
That's okay, okay, sorry, we'll get to that a little
bit later on in the program. So you mentioned baseball.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Do you like the new timing of the Major League
Baseball draft or do you just is it such an
irrelevant draft in your mind? Because you know, outside of
Paul Skeens last year, usually these guys are going to
be the minors for a while before they.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Hit the pros.

Speaker 4 (37:10):
But are we reaching a new era in Major League
Baseball where these guys are getting drafted and maybe getting
the league quicker?

Speaker 3 (37:15):
And is it any chance it's gonna move up your
depth chart at all?

Speaker 2 (37:19):
It may they may get to the league quicker. I
don't think it's going to move up on my depth chart, though.
I do like college baseball a little bit more, actually
a lot more, and we do end up watching more
of the college World Series and the regionals, and I,
you know, I watch my Arizona baseball and I get
into that, but I still don't get myself into the
baseball draft, just like I'm kind of losing interest in

(37:41):
the NBA draft. And I watch a lot of college basketball,
so maybe it's not what we watch in college. I
just feel like some of these drafts, it takes a
while to get these kids developed and they go straight
to the NBA. Some of these kids, sure, but they
sit on the bench. We really don't get to see
them play unless they're Wemba Yamas or something to that efect.
Very rarely did you get to see the guys player

(38:03):
or at least make a difference. And Gappins in baseball also.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna do something crazy on the
show right now.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
What's that?

Speaker 3 (38:11):
I agree with you? I agree with you one hundred percent.

Speaker 6 (38:14):
Sound the alarm.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
I'm a little bit concerned right now. Is this water?

Speaker 4 (38:18):
And yeah, that's water in my bottle right now. Okay,
here's what's interesting, I think. And we're one year, right,
Paul Skeens is one year. It's it's a rare, rarefied air.
And he was the number one pick in the draft,
but it was somebody that was just playing in the
World Series and playing college baseball last year and now

(38:40):
he's starting the All Star Game. They've moved the draft
from being in Super Regionals, which was the dumbest thing ever.
So now it's after the season, it's after the World Series,
so you get a little bit more of a chance
to see what these guys are like. I think the
Major League Baseball Draft and they it seems like they've
committed resources to it. It's like they're trying to make

(39:01):
it a bigger deal. I mean, it used to be
like a conference call in the middle of the afternoon
and that was Major League Baseball's first round. Now they've
got the shows on the MLB network, ESPN's doing things.
We're talking about it here on Fox Sports Radio, and
I think part of it is because we know these guys.
We've watched these guys in maybe college. There were only
two high school players taken in the top fifteen picks,

(39:22):
aren't he. I mean that's crazy because usually you'll have
those high school guys that go one, three, six time,
but it was all college guys. So there's a part
of me that wonders if maybe this could be a
turning point for Major League Baseball's draft and maybe even
college baseball. And that because at the very least, the
college guys that are getting drafted, aren't it They've been

(39:43):
in school for three years. I mean, the rule is
still in effect, and there's birthday now dates and when
you were born and things of that nature. But I
mean we're talking about I think a really good opportunity
for Major League Baseball to gain some headway and using
college baseball to help them. Ot how of that front
could be wrong, could be wrong, But that's my overall thought.

(40:06):
I think baseball's got a chance. Baseball's got a chance
to close the draft gap.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
Now.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
I was a little bit surprised to see Jack Kagleon
fall a little bit. You don't even do you know
who that is? You know, Jack Kagleon is uh No.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
The Florida slugger dropped to sixth overall where he went
to the Royals, and Patrick and I were choking about it.
But the Dodgers end up taking another high school infielder.
You're like, wait, where did this guy come from? So
there was a couple of surprises in the MLB Draft.
But kudos to Major League Baseball. They've tried to make
the draft a bigger deal. They took it on the road,
they put it in Fort Worth. It was a cool

(40:42):
scene to watch, and college baseball is reaping the benefits
of that. I think both college and pro baseball reaping
the benefits of these guys, especially like skiings jumping in
the league quickly. All right, when we come back to
the tirack dot com studios, we'll talk to our buddy
Mark Medina about US Olympic Basketball and the Summer League
next on Fox Sports. You ah, yes, we are company

(41:02):
alive from the ti rack dot Com studios. Tyrack dot
com will help you get there an unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection in over ten thousand
recommended installers. Ti rack dot com theway tire buying should be.
Did you yell goal whenever he hit the back of
the net or not?

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (41:18):
Of course I did. Of course I did.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
I knew.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
I mean, I'm like, let's go Argentina.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
Let's go picked him, right, you picked?

Speaker 2 (41:24):
Of course? If I picked Argentina, and I'm very proud
of myself. Knowing that the game was not over at
that point, a lot of people are thought, wait, the
game is still going to continue. Yeah, it's still get chews.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Look at you well in the mid in the midst
of the countdown to Argentina, when I.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
Don't know how much time is left, by the way,
so I don't love much time is left, but.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
I think they got like two minutes left. So my math,
that's not true.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
That's not true at all.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
Yeah, no, I think there's like two minutes left. I
think it goes to one twenty. Right.

Speaker 4 (41:50):
Well, Disaga will do the math while we talk to
our buddy Mark Medina. Always got to get caught up
on what's going on in the Association, especially with the
summer league as hot as it is and the up
I mean Olympics. Now, Mark, we had a chance to
break this down a little bit last night. I went
dig in as well, you think we're going to see
any more roster changes to Team USA? I mean, what

(42:12):
have they said or have they set like a drop
dead date for when they went this roster officialized. What's
your sense on if this is what we're going to
see in the Olympics or if we might see a
few more roster changes.

Speaker 8 (42:26):
I think there's no going to be There's not gonna
be any roster changes. But if there is, I guess
there's always the possibility that Kevin Durant's injury persists. But
for what it's worth, Steve Curis said from the very
beginning it's considered a mild injury, and I have, I
think a little less skepticism when it comes to Durant's
Health's not that he's been iron Man to the Achilles,

(42:47):
but it's been a lot better than it has been
with Kawhi Leonard. So I don't foresee any roster changes,
but that would be the a holy scenario.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
What do you expect to out of the game tomorrow?
I know it's just a tune up, it's a friendly
whatever you want to call it. What do you expect
in that one tomorrow?

Speaker 8 (43:05):
Well, I'm curious what the starting lineup is going to
be because Steve curse for warned that, like especially for
the exhibition games, every game is going to feature a
different lineup. So maybe they don't start Joel Embiid he
had them bout trouble. They put Anthony Davis or By
Montebio at center spot. You know, what do they do
with Anthony Edwards? I think really the only thing definitive

(43:27):
is that Lebron James and Steph Curry starts, and then
when whenever Kevin Durant comes back, I suspect that they're
going to be a lot better offensively because you know,
they they're moving the ball, they're they're figuring out the
size of the ball, all that. But I think that
this team's identity is really going to be on the
defensive end because of the rim protection that they have

(43:48):
with all those three bigs, with EMBIID and out of
Bio and AD and so I'm looking I'm curious to
see if they can continue to build that moving forward,
because if they're going to win Gold, that's gonna be
their calling card.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Is it going to be a close game though? Do
you expect or is it going to be a blowout?

Speaker 8 (44:07):
Yeah, I think it's gonna be in between. I think
because it's an exhibition game, I don't think they're going
to go full throttle. But I don't think that there's
gonna be any concern about US winning. And I think
even Frankly and group play and elimination play, I think,
you know, France and maybe Grief can challenge them a
little bit. I don't think it's going to be blowouts,

(44:28):
but I don't think there's gonna be a feeling that,
you know, barring an injury to Lebron that Van or
kd that the US is going to be vulnerable at all.

Speaker 4 (44:38):
Hey, Mark, maybe you can take us through a little bit.
We understand some of the real differences, but why do
you get this into wait? Arnie has proclaimed Joel Embiid finished,
he's no longer going to be good at basketball apparently,
And why do you guys, specifically Joel Embid why do
they struggle so much with the with the international game.

Speaker 8 (44:58):
Well, for him it's his first Olympic, so that's always
a learning curve. I think what happens is the way
fouls are called, you know, are different, and there you
only get five of them. You know, in the NBA
can get six, and so there's there's always that gray
area when you get three or four. Sometimes you can

(45:18):
still play a little bit aggressively, but you know, with
having one less spout, that really changes the rhythm. I
think the other thing is that you know, when you
look at the length of quarters, it's twelve to ten,
and so they paced themselves a little bit differently. But
I think in Joel A. Bead's case, I think the
foulings out of a system, and I suspect that moving

(45:40):
forward he's going to be good.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
Now.

Speaker 8 (45:42):
I think that he'll play out of the gates, but
he'll probably have limited minutes because they'll want to use
kind of those small ball lineups. But I don't think
that his his bad play in the first exhibition in
Canada is like this moment a bad thing to come.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
No, but you have to admit, I mean, the bad
play in that game. Last year, with the injuries, he
did fight back to play well okay in the Knixt series,
but he's just not the same guy anymore. And you
know he has been some games. You gotta wonder if
this is the starting to be the down point. He
has the top the MVP all that is it starting
the downslope now?

Speaker 3 (46:20):
You know? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (46:22):
And I mean, look, he's coming off a lot of
different injuries. He wasn't He wasn't the same player in
the playoffs. Even though he did statistically play well, he
wasn't the same dominant force. It looked like he was
on one leg. For what it's worth, he says he's
fully healthy now. But I think that you're onto something
here that I thought I was telling that. Even in
a tam Usa skirmage that I saw he was hunting

(46:45):
for fouls. It's like, what are you doing? Yeah, just
play basketball here? But I think that given the Olympics.
It's not like, you know, there's a whole conversation for
the Sixers on whether he and or Paul Dwarts can
stay healthy because they haven't. Shouldn't They ended that? But
I think in Team USA is context. I think he's
going to be fine, and I think he'll be a

(47:06):
focal point. There's a reason why they recruit him because
they knew that size matters in the Olympics. But I
think again, because of how sacked the team is, it's
predominantly going to be about how well lebron Duran and
Steph play.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
You know, Mark Medina is our guest.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
It's it's interesting because Summer League is taking place as
we speak. Now, we're watching soccer and we've got the
NBA up on one screen. But it's funny just how
much Bronni drives that narrative and how much people want
to talk about it. You and I talked last night
about Stephan Castle and what we've seen from him and
how impressive he has been. Mark, is there anyone else
that's really kind of jumped out and really caught your

(47:44):
eye and you think, Okay, this might be somebody that
could end up being a difference maker, or this could
be somebody taken in the first round that could be
I liked how do Silva look for? The Orlando Magic
had twenty three points and there went over the Pelkins today.

Speaker 3 (47:57):
But who else out there has really caught your eye
in the summer? Ya?

Speaker 8 (48:01):
Yeah, so far, it's been Alex Starr with the Wizards.
He's a really good rim protector, a really good passer.
He needs to finish better at the rim, but when
you're looking at what he brings as a mobile big man,
he's gonna do a lot of wonders with at least
playing a key hard and Washington turning things around. They
need all the help they can get. The other guy

(48:21):
that's really caught my eye is Ron Hollin with the Pistons.
Like he's a really good wing player, he plays really hard,
he's a defensive stopper, and he seems to have that
kind of old school mentality of you know, I'm a
young guy, but I don't think I know all the answers,
so I'm gonna lean on the bets and I'm just gonna,
you know, be a gym rat. And look, the Pistons

(48:43):
had a lot of bad things happened last season with
you know a lot of young players not playing the
right way and Bonnie William's not being able to reach them.
You know, it might be bold for him to think,
because he said it out loud of he and I
talked to him today that he thinks that they could
be a playing team season. But at least he's bringing
the right ingredients about. You know, hey, let's watch film,

(49:07):
let's work out, let's get reps to improve my shot.
I think that look for him to make an instant impact.
I don't know if they're going to make the playoffs.
I think that he's going to be one of the
top rookies in the years class.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
By the way, Mark, I've already turned in my Rookie
of the Year vote and he's not even in the
NBA yet. I voted for Cooper Flag, So.

Speaker 8 (49:29):
Hold that vote for next year. I mean, I don't
think you can go wrong.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
I mean, I just saw the video of him playing,
you know, a couple of weeks ago. I saw the
video of him playing against the USA team, and I'm
just like, man, this kid is just already I'm just
so impressed. I mean I saw high school highlights, but
It's one thing when you're played against the high school
or you're saying you like, you're McDonald's all American to
play it against other high school stars. And that's another

(49:55):
thing when you're playing against NBA all of famers and
he's hitting shots, going to those w hoop, he's dunking.
I mean, I just love this guy. I assume he's
one and done when it's all said.

Speaker 8 (50:05):
And done, right, Oh yeah, And that's scrimmage. I mean,
that was the buzz during that specific practice and it's
the real deal. Now some context on the Olympic and
Select team scrimmage. The Select team they're asked to challenge
the Olympic team because they want to get ready for
these exhibitions. There is kind of a song and dance

(50:26):
where the Select team wants to play intense, but they
don't want, you know, to play so aggressive that they're
hurting the guys. But it is competitive. And so what
we saw in those highways with Cooper Flag showed it's
the real deal. The Olympic team wasn't just going through
the motion. They were trying to get ready for these
exhibition games. And it's telling that you know, he was

(50:47):
able to score on Drew Holliday, get a put back,
get another three, and he would have won the game
if not for Anthony Davis walking his shot at the
end of the game. And I think the fact that
Anthony Davis blocked the shot showed up prides on the line.
We don't want to let this player who's not even
in college yet show us up and win the game.
So yeah, he is going to be a special player

(51:08):
next year, and therefore Rookie of the Year thanks to
your vote.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
You got it. Arnie's already ahead of it. A Rookie
of the Year for me already this year.

Speaker 4 (51:17):
I'm sorry, I might be thinking the guy that looked
like he was getting ready to go to a business
meeting on draft night, and that's reed Shepherd. You know,
it's funny. His last impression in college was just terrible.
He had a horrible first round game and that loss
to Oakland for Kentucky. But man, an about you, Mark,
he looks like a dude that's got a chance to
be something.

Speaker 8 (51:38):
Yeah, I mean I talked to different people around the league,
you know that evaluate the draft in front offices, and
one one executive told me that he's the best cheer
shooter in this year's forrat class. I mean, his release
is great, he's aggressive, he knows when to pull up,
when to playmake, and so, you know, I think that
you know, obviously there's always a one under on how

(52:00):
much that will translate into the next level because of
double teams and you know, more physicality in the NBA,
But you know, you don't have to really change the
wheel when you have the right shooting mentality insects. And yeah,
I thought it was just fitting that, you know, all
these Laker fans are here to see Bronny and he
was struggling, couldn't hit a shut on the other side

(52:22):
of the court, was you know, Ried Shepard just racking
up as if he's in a three point shootout.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
By the way, Mark, and I hate to ask you
on the air, but we did have a gofund me
page up for Jalen Brunson, So if you want to
go ahead and you want to donate, but he can
take one hundred and thirteen million less. I mean, that
is a lot of money we have to do help
him out, you understand.

Speaker 8 (52:43):
That, Mark, Yeah, I mean every penny counts, I guess.
So yeah, we'll, we'll, we'll fund the cause. I mean,
I suspect that he'll get that money and in a
few years anyway, but yeah, well whatever we can to
help them get even richer.

Speaker 3 (53:00):
Mark, you're the man.

Speaker 4 (53:01):
Appreciate all your insight throughout the day and throughout the weekend,
Forest here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
Have a great week, and we'll talk to you again soon, Bud.

Speaker 8 (53:08):
Right back at you, guys. Appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (53:11):
Mark G underscore Medina, Mark G underscore Medina Arnie. I
did have to laugh as it is a final. RGGJ
has beaten Stop Argent has beaten Columbia in extra time
one nil.

Speaker 3 (53:24):
Looks like looks like everything staying calm right now.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Yeah, like you were predicting like doom and gloom and
that people were going to storm the field and there
was going to be mass I say, on, how would
you stop him? Geez?

Speaker 3 (53:37):
You couldn't stop them from coming in.

Speaker 4 (53:39):
I mean, I can't bring a bottle of water into
a game, but you got people climbing through security stands.
So I don't understand why you'd feel confident that anyone
could do their job in Miami right now. But I
did have to laugh about this story that Fred who
wrote this for the athletic Fred Katz had he said
the he said Brunson.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
Friday before signing his contract.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
Oh yeah, did you see this?

Speaker 3 (54:07):
Chilling with friends? And that's what he wanted to do
instead of signing his contract.

Speaker 2 (54:10):
He said he got to it later in the day
because he was right, who's he hanging out with?

Speaker 3 (54:15):
Josh Hart?

Speaker 2 (54:16):
Josh Hart, that's right? Yea, yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:17):
He was so eager to.

Speaker 4 (54:18):
Keep hanging out with his team, and his teammates said
he put off resigning because he was too busy hanging
out with his team. Now I understand that he's taking
a bargain bargain deal here, Arnie. I love hanging out
with you, just saka. I love hanging out with you, bro.
I ain't waiting to go sign one hundred and twenty
hundred and fifty six million dollar contract.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
Okay, we can hang as soon as I put pin
to paper, right.

Speaker 4 (54:42):
I'm sorry, But your guy, he just keeps growing, going
up the old popularity ladder here. That's something a lot
of people can relate to. He's like, you know what,
I I'll wait to stand on business. I gotta hang
out with my guys, right.

Speaker 2 (54:54):
I'm busy. Now what do you want for me? I
gotta do everything. I'll I'll get around the signing and
when I get aroun I'm playing video games right now
with Josh. Can you leave me alone?

Speaker 3 (55:03):
Was it video games?

Speaker 2 (55:04):
I don't know. I would bet you was video games.
I bet it was probably college football twenty twenty five.
Why do I see some people in the media got
it ahead of time. I don't know why we didn't
get ours ahead of time. I'm a little jealous.

Speaker 4 (55:17):
Well, because you don't really cover college football. You just
yell about Arizona all the time. I mean that's all
you do, I know, But that.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
Doesn't mean I can't get a free game out of
this ahead of everybody.

Speaker 3 (55:27):
Do you have a gaming console?

Speaker 2 (55:29):
I think I have two of them. I don't know
what they are because my son has them, but I
got two of them.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
Well, there you go.

Speaker 4 (55:35):
You should be getting one right now. By the way,
let's get to Roman Numeral seven when we come back. Plus,
Arnie has a list that I think I pretty much
agree with.

Speaker 2 (55:45):
Oh look at that. I'm shocked because I thought you
would get on my number five pick there.

Speaker 4 (55:50):
Uh oh, I mean it's you can't hit home run
every single time? No, I tried one through four is
pretty good in his best receivers in the NFL, which
will dive into next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, it's already in Playing Committee live from the
ti raq dot Com studios to Fox Sports Sunday. Two
quick tweets here before we get to your list. This

(56:11):
one from Eric, who writes, Wow, funky cold Medina. With
what he said, it just makes me think that pro
athletes are even dumber than I'd imagined. Only getting five
fouls instead of six makes it hard to play. The
games are eight minutes shorter. Hoops is not rocket science. Well,
I understand what you're saying, but when you're used to

(56:32):
having that extra foul, maybe you play a little bit
more aggressive than you would. But it it's a fair point.
It's a little bit of a different feel for the ball.
It's called different. So I was not ready to say
they're all dumb.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
When you said it was called different. Is it I
take it that the revs called a little bit tighter
than they call it in the NBA or is it
about equal when they do?

Speaker 4 (56:53):
Yeah, you know, I'll plead a little ignorance because I
mean I had one of these moments listening to VJ
and Martin on what was that last night? And they
were talking about Lebron and how he's been at too
many Olympics, and I'm like, he didn't play in the
Olympics the last time around. Like I barely remember who
was on the Olympic team four years Kevin Love was

(57:15):
on the Olympic team four years ago, Arnie, think about
that for a moment. So it's just it's one of
those things where my Olympic memories like our Carmelo Anthony
going crazy, a Charles Barkley nearly killing a dude from Angola,
and the Dream Team. So that's like the extent of
my memories of the of the Olympic spot. I think

(57:36):
historically it's the feeling is that it's called tighter than
it is in the NBA, and.

Speaker 2 (57:41):
In college we always seem to have problems with a
kid getting two fouls in the first half and you
have to put him on the bench, which will probably
happen in these games if an athlete or one of
the players picks up two early foles.

Speaker 4 (57:54):
Well, here's the problem in college. The official suck. That's
part of the problem in college right now. We think
about it. I mean, it's got to be about them.
They got to put on a show. They got a
bustle and bounce around and point whenever they're far away
from the play that's actually even happening. So that's the
problem in college right now. And then Jason B. Diamond rights, Arnie,
are we counting tight ends in this top five? If so,

(58:17):
let's go, are you counting to tight ends?

Speaker 2 (58:20):
There wasn't counting tight ends in this list here. I
was counting wide receivers. So yeah, I mean, so you're
saying Travis Kelcey or something like that, but I didn't
put tight ends in no, So I didn't have that
in that.

Speaker 4 (58:33):
Would you, Okay, how about this for next Sunday night?
Would you potentially think of the top five tight ends
maybe in the NFL?

Speaker 2 (58:41):
Yeah? Do we still have tight ends in football? I
guess we do so? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (58:45):
Oh yeah, I mean Travis Kelcey, George Kittle, Rock Bauers.
I just gave you the three best tight ends in
the league, right there. So tonight, Arnie Spanier, as we
roll through list season here on Fox Sports Radio, put
together a list of the top five wide receivers in
the National Football League. For those keeping track at home,
this was a late ad. This is Roman numeral fourteen,

(59:07):
which actually went on a four second separate page.

Speaker 3 (59:11):
So here we go. Span your by the.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
Way, I'm running out of illegal pads. I have to
go to Staples tomorrow and get more legal pads.

Speaker 3 (59:18):
Beware of the bear. That's all I'm gonna say. Beware
of the bear. All right.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
Do you want me to go with number five first?
Do you want me to start at the top at
number one?

Speaker 3 (59:27):
I think you.

Speaker 4 (59:28):
Should go with number five first, because I'm just gonna
tell you right now, your number five is my number one.

Speaker 2 (59:33):
Okay, well that's ridiculous, but you know what, I'll start
at the top. Let me start with number one first.
Then my top five wide receivers. Number one obviously is
Tyreek Hill. Oh there's no way fans are much about it.
The guy would have easily put up one hundred and
twenty plus receiving are catches. He was hurt a little bit.
His yardage is more than anybody else in the NFL.

(59:56):
The guy's got speed. He has touched at I don't
think he did. He have the most in the NFL
out of receivers. I believe he was one of the most,
if not the most. He's just impossible to stop. Great
ads Tyreek Hill is. He's got to be number one.
There's no arguing, right, you're not gonna argue with me
on that one. Are you playing?

Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
There's Justin Jefferson is the best receiver in the nf
Thank you all right?

Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
I think I have problems with my hearing. I think
there's something wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
Justin Jefferson is the best receiver in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
Yeah, now, I know I have problems with my headphones.

Speaker 6 (01:00:30):
It keeps saying Viking receiver.

Speaker 3 (01:00:32):
Yes, yeah, he plays for the Minnesota I'm gonna have.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
To get new headphones. My headphones keep saying that. You
guys are saying Justin Jefferson is the best receiver in folks.

Speaker 4 (01:00:40):
Yes, And I'm telling you right now, if Tyreek Hill
didn't play for the Dolphins as great as he is,
you wouldn't have him on this list because you didn't stop.

Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
But did you?

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
That's ridiculous? You don't think you don't think Tyreek Hill
deserves to be on this list? That would you just do?

Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
I don't think you would have him in your top
five if he wasn't an.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
I expense new headphones. Can I go and do that?

Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Your hearing's not wrong. Justin Jefferson is the best receiver
in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
Yes, I'm on ros Saint Brown for Detroit. Love him,
runs Gate raps, he has all the numbers out there.
He's one of the reasons why Detroit's gone to the
next level. I just love everything about him. He's just
a key receiver. I have him in number two. I
think he's very underrated. I know you guys are like,

(01:01:25):
what are you?

Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
He is?

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
This guy?

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Now? He's great. I love him. I think he's outstanding.

Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
And uh, it's kind of funny because I think he's
also one of those dudes that really flew onto the
radar in the entire draft process.

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
I mean, you go back.

Speaker 4 (01:01:40):
I don't remember talking about him a lot coming into
the NFL a couple of years.

Speaker 3 (01:01:43):
Ago, do you. Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
Yeah, absolutely, you remember talking about just where do you
go to college? You get so bad when I bring
it up. I don't know where.

Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
But we talked about him. He was a fourth round that's.

Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
Right, that's right, that's right, that's right. We we did
talk about that. How much I remember on that right?
Number three and I didn't really even want to put
him in my top five, but I said to myself,
this guy has a lot. He has all the numbers
out there, Plus he has a quarterback who I don't
think is all that great like some of the other
guys here. So I put Cedee Lamb at number three

(01:02:17):
for Dallas. I have to give him a little bit
more respect. He seems to be not getting as much
respect as the other receivers I have on this list.
But I had to put Cee Lamb I at number three.
Where'd you think of that one?

Speaker 4 (01:02:30):
Well, I mean I'm a homer, so I think that's uh.
I think he's very good. Now, I don't know if
he's a top five receiver in the league. I think
he's about to get paid like one. In my mind
he is. So I had no problem with ceedeelamb being
on this list number four. I think is criminal that
you have number four on your list over names like
Brandon au Jamar, Chase AJ Brown, among others. But why

(01:02:53):
don't you give everyone you number? I think what you did.
I think you looked at the yardage leaders in the
NFL last year and just picked the top four and
then through Uh, Justin Jefferson in here because you knew
he was hurt last year.

Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
No, not exactly what you did think four touchdown leaders.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
No, these are actually the five best receivers. I think
people are actually like, I like this list. I like
this list. Number four. I put Pokkua and I'll tell
you what. Everybody loves this guy. Matter of fact, I
would have maybe moved them ahead of the CD lamb.
I you think it's criminal, then I have this guy
in my top five. You're he's not a Pooka fan.
I don't know you can be doing for you last year.

Speaker 4 (01:03:34):
Or what he has too many drops. I'm a Pooka fan.
I can love him and still not think he's a
top five receiver in the league. Are and he top
five is elite? You know you have thirty two NFL
teams that have how many receivers on the roster? You know,
maybe six?

Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
I will tell you this, if we took a vote,
I bet you more people would vote for Pooka to
be in the top five than anybody I have on
this list.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
Why anyone you have on this list?

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
Yeah, the people love Pooka Nakula. I don't think you
quite understand that he's very popular.

Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
Number five, number five, I would even put that out there.

Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
Let me give you a number five. I put justin Jefferson,
who I still think. I mean, look, be at number
five is still a good thing. You act like it's
a slap in the face. He's still a very good receiver,
and he probably should be a lot better because of
the lack of quarterbacks that he had at least I think. So. Yeah,
he did get heard, So that's why I had him
down there at number five. You love him, and I

(01:04:30):
can see why you'd have him up a little bit.
But I'm not if I had to pick a wide
receiver right now and you said, look, you gotta get
to a wide receiver, I'm gonna give you two wide
receivers of your choice. Anybody you want, anybody you want
you tell me. I'm like, all right, I'm gonna take Tyreek. Tyreek,
come on over, come on, come on over. You're you're

(01:04:51):
my first pick, and I think my second pick is
probably gonna be uh it's between say Brown and Puka.

Speaker 6 (01:05:01):
So that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
Yeah, I'm glad you're not running my NFL team. So no,
let's just go through the list of people that didn't
make it. Uh No, Jamar Chase, No, I like kidding.

Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
Nothing wrong with that. Funny thing is when you do
your top five, you can only have five people in
your top five.

Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
I know that's crazy. No Davante Adams.

Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
You know he's getting up there there and he's always complaining.

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
You know you don't be the bus never receiver is
always complaining.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
One thing wrong with Devote Adams. I probably have at
number seven.

Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
AJ Brown, Brandon, Aiyuk, Mike Evans, DK, Metcalf, Stefon Diggs.

Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
No, no, those now you're just giving. Now, you're just
naming names to name names out there. No there, Look,
I can't put everybody in my top five, Griz. They
can't go ahead to have everybody in your top five.

Speaker 4 (01:05:48):
Mike Evans was the league leader in touchdown receptions last year.
And you love your stats.

Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
So I mean I told you it wasn't all stats.
You didn't believe me. There's a you know what you
look at the top four. You want to know what.

Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
You want to know what my number one thing was, intangibles.
Always love the intangibles.

Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
Gris, tell me the intangibles of Pokinakua.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Well, look what he's done. In such a short time.
What is what is wrong with you?

Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Guys?

Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
You know what I can't believe I do you have
to defend Pookin?

Speaker 3 (01:06:25):
You act top five receiver.

Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
You act, you act like this guy is some bum
out there. I really wish the Wizards would stick stick
up for me on Pookin. To Coula everybody, He's probably
be more popular than anybody else on.

Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
That what this isn't a popularity contest.

Speaker 2 (01:06:39):
I'm just saying he probably is, that's all. And I
also think he's a top five receiver. Look at the
numbers he put up. What's wrong with you? You guys
watch football football?

Speaker 4 (01:06:51):
I just went to NFL dot com and looked at
the yardage leaders and said, those are my top five receivers.

Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
That's what I did. That's so good.

Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
We beat the two receivers you would want for your quarterback, Chris,
I'm just giving you too.

Speaker 4 (01:07:02):
Who would they be, Davante Adams and Puka Nakua. That's
exactly how I would go.

Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:07:08):
See when we come back to the tireback dot Com studios,
we'll get to your tweets. Arnie's top five wide receivers
in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
Somebody are already getting on you about the tight ends.
Did you see that?

Speaker 3 (01:07:23):
Well?

Speaker 4 (01:07:23):
Yeah, because no one can accept that brock Bowers is
about to take over the league. Baby, speaking of taking
over the league, Steve to Segars and here to take
over this here radio show.

Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Steve Hey, By the way, I did tomorrow my list,
I probably shouldn't tease this my top five update people
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (01:07:43):
Shame I won't be here.

Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
Wow, too bad, you're missing that, Steve.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
How many update people do we have, Steve?

Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
What do you think?

Speaker 7 (01:07:50):
Roughly fifty two?

Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
Okay, you'd be in my top fifty two.

Speaker 7 (01:07:56):
Thank you very much. I'm quite honored you'd be in
our top fifty two of hosts.

Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
Wow, there you go.

Speaker 7 (01:08:05):
He's catching on. We had the Cope America Final on
Fox TV tonight and the world's number one ranked team
one again and the clock.

Speaker 10 (01:08:12):
Strikes midnight of Columbia's Unbean run. Messi has done it again.
Argentina has done it again. They have gone back to
back has Cope America champions.

Speaker 7 (01:08:24):
They've now won this tournaments more than any other country.

Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
And soide I wouldn't say Messi's done it again. He
was out at the end of the game.

Speaker 7 (01:08:31):
Yes he was, but remember he had a John Elway
like career going for quite some time. That is absolute
greatness and not a single title in anything to show
for it for the national team. And now they've won
everything the last three four years. It's really stunning.

Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
I stand correct.

Speaker 7 (01:08:47):
He suffered an injury in the first tife tonight, Lionel
Messi had to leave in the sixty fifth minute with
an ankle. Injury was quite swollen. You could see it
after he took the iceback off it. He stayed there,
of course, on the bench to watch his team win. Yeah,
late night in Miami, with the game ending after midnight
because the start was delayed by almost an hour and

(01:09:08):
a half after thousands of fans without tickets rushed the gates.
Colombia loses. They were unbeaten in their last twenty eight
games over the last two and a half years since
a loss to Argentina, and Columbia outshot him Tonight's nineteen
to eleven, but rank number one, Argentina wins again. Argentina
with three losses in its last sixty four games played,

(01:09:31):
including tonight. This Columbia team so impressive and yet could
not score in this game against Argentina tonight. Colombia had
beaten Brazil in a World Cup qualifier at the end
of last year. Colombia beat Spain in an exhibition in March.
Columbia month ago played the US in a tune up
for this tournament and beat up the US five to one.

(01:09:53):
And when the Americans didn't advance out of the group
and Panama did, Columbia then beat Panama five nothing weekend.
And yet with this year's tournament in the US, by
the way, not in South America. The South America champs
are again Argentina. The Americans were in this tourney because
they were one of six guest teams in this South

(01:10:13):
American Confederation Championship. Again, the US was eliminated at group stage.
Might not be the last time you hear about the
South American Confederation known as Conbobol, because let's just say
they did not bathe themselves in glory in how they
administered this tournament, good between the fields and the stadium
and tonight's problem, etc. Spain won the Eurofinal to one

(01:10:36):
over England on a goal in the eighty six minute.
WNBA had four games, including an Indiana win at Minnesota
eighty one seventy four. Minnesota was sixteen and seven. Caitlin
Clark seventeen points in the win, six assists, six turnovers
from three point range. She was two for eleven today.
WNBA off tomorrow. Carlos Alcarez swept Novak Djokovic to take

(01:11:00):
the Wimbledon title. Ryan Blaney won the NASCAR Race at Pocono,
his second victory this season. Denny Hamlin finished second. Major
League Baseball is now on All Star break. The All
Star Game is Tuesday night on Fox TV from Texas, Atlanta.
Was a six to three winner at San Diego today,
the win to All Star Chris Saale. He's thirteen and three,
went five innings, just one run allowed. But by pitching today,

(01:11:23):
he's not pitching on Tuesday. Travis Darnaulah the Braves hit
two homers, save number twenty two to closer Rice all Iglesias.
Toronto's Vlag Guerrero Junior hit a solo homer in the
seventh for the lead and an eight to seven win
at Arizona, San Francisco with a run bottom of the
ninth feat Minnesota three to two. That's the Twins team
that is second in the AL Central, but still four
and a half games behind Cleveland. The hero for the Giants,

(01:11:46):
Mike Yastremsky, tripled and scored on an air Blake Snell
no decision. He had a perfect game through six at
San Francisco today who went seven innings one hit, allowed
eight strikeouts. And the other late afternoon game was at
Anaheim Angels be Seattle again three to two, this time
on a three run homer bottom of the eighth by
Joe Adell. Forever a prospect with the batting average of

(01:12:08):
one ninety. He comes through. Seattle has lost three in
a row. Mariners are first in the AOST, though still
one game over Houston, which loss.

Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
Back to you, thanks Steve, as we come to you
live for the tire rack dot com studios. A reminder

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
And just did, Chris. I got to read it right away.
This was actually sent a private message to me. Probably
didn't want you to see it, because you know, you
try to erase them when they disagree with me or
disagree with you. I agree with about pooka top five
wide receiver, extremely physicality, looks to lay the wood on opponents,

(01:13:15):
which fires his team up in big spots, and on
value for money ratio, he's number one. He's making next
to nothing compared to the other wide receivers. Excellent point.
I didn't even bring that ax of that excellent point
about the money. I didn't all that making peanuts compared
to the other guys value wise, he's got to be

(01:13:36):
number one. And you're laughing at me why I want
him on my team? Shame on you.

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
No no, no, no, no, no no no.

Speaker 4 (01:13:42):
I'm not laughing at you that you would want him
on your team. Someone just obviously that follows the Rams
or knows. The NFL looked at it and said, here's
how you can actually make your point that you're not making.

Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
Puka Nakua is not a top five.

Speaker 4 (01:13:55):
Receiver in the league. He's a very good wide receiver.
He's not better than Vante Adams. He's not better than
Justin Jefferson. Now he's got potential and he's on a
rookie contract. That's great, But how many exemple you got
better kill?

Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
What do you have ten? Ten guys in your top five?

Speaker 3 (01:14:10):
Is that what it is? I just mentioned him.

Speaker 4 (01:14:13):
I would have Justin Jefferson, I would have Davonte Adams,
I would have a mon Ross Saint Brown, I would
debate on CD Lambs, I have Mike Evans, I'd have
Jamar Chase.

Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
So you wouldn't have the best receiver a Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
Yes, I have Justin Jefferson in my top five.

Speaker 2 (01:14:30):
Okay, you see, you know take that out of the
podcast so Plank doesn't get fired.

Speaker 3 (01:14:34):
Well, no, here's what you should be concerned about.

Speaker 4 (01:14:37):
Jason Wright's insulting the Vikings when your boss is a
Viking fan looks like playing maybe getting the call for
the bullpen to work with Big Vanilla Funny.

Speaker 3 (01:14:46):
That's his Twitter handle.

Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
Yeah, that's that's vj's Twitter. I did, but justin Jefferson
number five, I could. I just can't suck up to
all the Minnesota teams like Blake and everybody else. I
just can't do. That's why Pike puts him at number one.
Excellent point though, by the Twitter person, the.

Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
Best receiver changes almost every year, writes Daryl, and that's
due to who is throwing that particular receiver the ball.
Let's see how awesome JJ is with that. Sorry, Sam
Darnold thrown throwing in the ball and rookie JJ McCarthy
stay tuned. Well, he was a thousand yard receiver when
he got hurt and had Nick Mullins, Joshua Dobbs, who else, Yeah,

(01:15:29):
Sharon a Hall throw.

Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
Be okay.

Speaker 4 (01:15:33):
I don't think Tommy Kramer or Eric Kramer was in
there either. So anyway, you can have fun with it.
Check out the podcast. We can find about it all
night long at Stinkingenius one at Playing Show to Sager's
Next on Fox Sports Radio. All right, let's go final
segment of hour two. It's Onny and Plank on a
Fox Sports Sunday. What's going on, Steve Disager? What are
we missing out on here tonight?

Speaker 7 (01:15:53):
We've got NFL to get to. But just as a note,
Fox TV has just signed off its coverage from Miami
here at what twelve fifty pm? They finally have lifted
the trophy and given out the medals about fifteen twenty
minutes ago. Yeah, it was a late start to stay
the least because of the fans rushing the gates for

(01:16:13):
this Copa America final.

Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
Then there was a.

Speaker 7 (01:16:15):
Longer halftime with the Shakira performance and the tournament's over.
And I must mention that this is not the first
time this has happened, but it happened this morning. As
they were singing the national anthems right before the Eurofinal
Spain versus England. Some TV host I guess he is
Ian Dale tweets this out. What a contrast just now

(01:16:38):
between the two teams. Every England player belted out the
national anthem with gusto. Not a single Spanish player opened
his mouth. Oh geez, memo to Ian the Spanish national
anthem has no lyrics. Twitter is making everybody o what

(01:16:59):
come on?

Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
So what?

Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:17:01):
Yeah, just make up their own bitch ahme along that
NFL rookies reported to training camp for Baltimore yesterday. Report
dates for some other teams or this week, including some
reporting on Tuesday. Houston reports Wednesday Hall of Fame Exhibition
will have the Texans against the Bears August first. Every
other NFL team starts the preseason games at least a

(01:17:23):
week later than that. NFL Network said tonight Bengals wide
receiver t Higgins will not have a long term deal
by tomorrow's deadline. So Higgins is going to play under
the franchise tag this season and then become a free
agent next year. He'll make over twenty one million dollars
this week.

Speaker 2 (01:17:37):
Guy, that's not even the top ten receiver. How about that?

Speaker 7 (01:17:39):
And who's to say they're gonna they have someone else
at receiver to resign after this year too. Higgins would
be the only player who will play out this season
on a franchise tag. Former Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones died.
He just turned forty this week. His family said Jones
died peacefully in his hometown of New Orleans. He won
a sea fully at forty his sleep, apparently dying overnight

(01:18:02):
at his home. No immediate cause of death announce, but
I bring up New Orleans because he won a Super
Bowl in New Orleans with Baltimore in that what turned
into crazy games, scoring touchdowns on a fifty six yard
reception and a one hundred eight yard kickoff return. And
then the story about Vikings receiver Jordan Addison from USC
arrested near the LA Airport after eleven PM Friday night

(01:18:25):
for suspicion of driving under the influence. There was a
disabled vehicle blocking lanes on the one ZH five Freeway
that goes by the LA Airport, and when the California
Highway Patrol arrived on the scene, there's a white rolls
Royce spotted with Jordan Addison asleep behind the wheel.

Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
Unbelievable, unbelievable.

Speaker 7 (01:18:47):
He was arrested then released from custody a couple hours later.
Vikings say we're aware of the arrest. It was one
year ago that the Minnesota State Patrol cited Jordan Addison
for speeding reckless driving, going in a fifty five mile
an hour zone one hundred and forty miles an hour.
Vikings veterans set to report for training camp in less

(01:19:09):
than ten days. Holy that's just terrible.

Speaker 4 (01:19:13):
And wasn't he wasn't he buddies too with the draft
pick that that just lost his life in a drinking
and driving wreck too.

Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
Didn't I see that throughout the evening.

Speaker 7 (01:19:24):
I know that was a car accident. So yeah, it's
that that alone it's worth bringing up.

Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
Golf.

Speaker 7 (01:19:30):
British Open is this week in Scotland at Royal Troon,
so they had kind of the tune up event the
Scottish Open and today on the PGA Tour, and a
golfer from Scotland won it, Robert McIntyre by one stroke
over Adam Scott thanks to a birdie on the final
hole he made a twenty two foot putt. And Sergio
Garcia from Spain won the live golf event in Spain

(01:19:50):
in a playoff. Every live golf winner gets four million dollars.
The Scottish Open, the winner got about one point six
million just for the record. But Garcia didn't just win
four mil. His team had the best scores for the
weekend too, and he gets another seven hundred and fifty
thousand dollars bonus on top of that.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
Should have been a golfer.

Speaker 7 (01:20:11):
Cliff Golf returns from from England. They'll have an event
late July. X Tennis player Marty Fish won the celebrity
tournament at Lake Tahoe on a casaurum Stam women's golf
legend moved up to third place in the end. John
Smoltz finished fourth. Wide receiver Adam Thielen fell to seventh
place today, just missing the top ten. Derek Carr and

(01:20:31):
Aaron Rodgers. Charles Barkley finished fifty eighth out of ninety golfers.
Jason Kelsey was eighty seventh. Alex Rodriguez was next to last,
not last, next to last. Yeah, somebody in TV that
was carrying the thing she finished last.

Speaker 3 (01:20:49):
All right.

Speaker 4 (01:20:49):
When we come back to the tyrack dot Com studios,
the Power Hour and my top five story lines for
SEC Media Day coming up. Final Hour, Power Our Baby,
Power Hour Company live from the tirack dot Com Studios.
Tire rack dot Com will help you get there an
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection, and

(01:21:11):
over ten thousand recommended installers. Ti rack dot com the
way tire buying should be Now. I want to make
sure I give you your flowers here, Arnie, because I.

Speaker 3 (01:21:18):
Want to hit.

Speaker 4 (01:21:19):
I want to hit a bunch of the Roman numerals
here in this first segment, and then I'll get to
my list of the top five storylines for media day.
I'm at Sea, I'm a Dallas. I'm at SEC media Days.
We're getting set for Oklahoma's on Tuesday. Texas is on Wednesday.
I'll run through the list of the team.

Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
You get free food there.

Speaker 3 (01:21:38):
I'm sure they have food. I did. I'm not gonna
lie to you. I haven't really done a lot of
research on what's going on around.

Speaker 4 (01:21:46):
I've been really researching the teams and the storylines and
the coaches and trying to find good questions for the
players that are going to be here.

Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
Yeah, look at you doing that. I'd be looking into
the food. That's my number one priority. You're right, she
dodn't work still for you.

Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
There was step number one. I had to make sure
that I got the trip paid for. And I still
don't know. I don't know. I kind of I might
have fived in my wife a little bit, like, don't worry,
Babey'll cover everything. I don't know that they're going to Arnie,
but let me hit a couple of these Roman numerals
before the show gets away from us. Okay, the All
Star Game is on Tuesday. It was Roman numeral number two,

(01:22:20):
and I thought your sub point number one was a
great one. There's just not a lot of musty stars
right now in Major League Baseball. Show he's not pitching, right,
he's hitting, and he's incredible. I think we're all following
Aaron Judge. The Reds all of a sudden are just
absolute beasts. And I mean, but I don't know if

(01:22:41):
there are a laundry list of Oh man, I can't
wait to see X player. And let's face it, since
interleague play is going on what like ten years, there
is a certain bit of the sizzle in seeing some
of these players match up that is lost because we
see it during the year.

Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
About the first of all, Bookie Betts is hurt, so
he's out. He's out of there. So you really only
have three names that you would really want to go
ahead and see where you're like, Okay, don't bother me.
I want to see this guy bath and that one
would be Aaron Judge. The other woman's going to be
Bryce harper So and the other one show Hey O Todi.
Other than that, those are the only three, and this
is an All Star game. Think about that, this is

(01:23:22):
an All Star game. I remember when Fernando was pitching
and striking at like five of the first sixth and
like each one was like a Hall of Famer and
you're like, oh my goodness, look look who he's facing,
and he's striking these guys out, and you wanted to
see these guys. And now I'm just no offense to
the guys that are starting or that are on the

(01:23:42):
teams now, they're just not intriguing. They're not must see.
Some of them have really good stats, they look great
because there's so many two ten hitters in baseball nowadays.
But it's just it just not intriguing. It's just not like,
oh my goodness, this guy really makes the knee, don't move.
It's it just seems I mean, my goodness, put a

(01:24:03):
uniform on him. You think it was just a regular team,
a good team out there, Chris, to be honest.

Speaker 4 (01:24:09):
Yeah, it's I get it. It's an exhibition. I understand
it's not for anything anymore. Remember when we went with
the this time it counts in Fox in the big
promotion and whoever want to got home field advantage. But
I guess I just have to accept that it's an
exhibition and I'm probably gonna stop watching it at about
the fifth inning, so I go to bet, I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:24:30):
Why you even that much? Yeah, I mean why why again?
Like there's nobody like I have to see this guy
bad or I have to see this guy pitcher than
just the guy from the Pirates, but other than.

Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
That ball schemes.

Speaker 2 (01:24:41):
Yeah, it's it's just that must see TV like it
used to be.

Speaker 4 (01:24:45):
It's just not like that anymore, okay, And to try
to keep with the cohesion of the show, to keep
with the flow. Roman numer number six. Do you want
baseball is a topic here tonight? Or you is there
a storyline that's intriguing you in the second half the season?

Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
If I was just running out of Roman numerals and
I wanted to throw some more out there, and I said, well,
because I didn't think I had enough, Like well that
we had baseball it is the halfway point. It's past
the halfway point. I mean, there are some intriguing stuff.
And what's going on in the wild card race in
the National League. I think there's what four teams five

(01:25:21):
teams separated by a game or a game and a
half excited to see that. What does bumm me out?
It seems like a lot of divisional races out there.
Summer's starting to pull away a little bit. I mean,
Yankees Baltimore is a good one, and so Seattle and
Houston used to got back of it. But Philly's Atlanta.
I don't think Atlanta's going to be able to catch them.

(01:25:41):
I wonder if Milwaukee's gonna pull away, and the Dodgers
will certainly pull away from Arizona. So I think those
three divisions won't have any intrigue whatsoever.

Speaker 4 (01:25:50):
So whenever I saw this, I was, you know, I
like baseball, right, I try to watch at least like baseball.

Speaker 3 (01:25:56):
If not a night, every every other night.

Speaker 4 (01:25:59):
And so I to MLB dot com and they had
a list of the top storylines for the second half
of the season, and I want to post three of
them here in front of you, all Right.

Speaker 3 (01:26:09):
Who will give up? They wrote, who will give up?
The ghost the trade deadline?

Speaker 4 (01:26:12):
In other words, who's going to give up the idea
that they're still in this chase or that anything is involved?

Speaker 3 (01:26:17):
Right? The Rockies, the White Sox, the.

Speaker 4 (01:26:19):
Marlins, the A's, the Angels, They're out they're done. But
you have all these teams that are right kind of
in the middle of the wild card chase, right your
Mets are right in the middle of the wild about to.

Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
Say, there's a lot of talk even though the Mets
are in the playoffs right now, they're in the wildcard
as this moment, there's a lot of talk about them
still dealing Pete Alonzo. I don't know how much truth
there is to that. You can get a king's ransom
or for that guy right now, especially for a team
that feels like they're one person away from going through
the World Series. He would bring in a whole heck

(01:26:53):
of a lot and reduce a lot of salary, that's
for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:26:56):
So I don't think they can trade them though, can
they Listen, you can trade anybody, but it's kind of
heart and soul of that team, right.

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
I don't think they will and I couldn't do that either.
That's that's not something guy I would do. But there's
always I mean, there's a buzz about this that's been
going on for like two years now that the Metsican
trade sub med fans out. You want to remember there
are only three games about five hundred, so they're world beaters.
They just happened then NATURALI just happens to be garbage
this year.

Speaker 4 (01:27:25):
So the other the other two bullet points they had
who will emerge from the wild card scrums? And I
think you just hit it pretty pretty well. What do
you have like twelve teams between the al and the
NL that are right now battling for a wild card spot?

Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:27:40):
And the Cardinals are playing well, the Giants are right
in this mix. I think we could have a pretty
wild second half of the season, aren't he based on
the wild card chase?

Speaker 3 (01:27:50):
Isn't based on how many teams are still alive?

Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
Yeah, if Atlanta doesn't come back to if Atlanta continues
to win, they'll get one of them. If they don't
catch the Phillies. Say that, that means you have two
spots open for the Cardinals, Meds, as you mentioned, the Diamondbacks,
the Padres, the Pirates, the Giants, even the Reds and
the Cubs. Other than that, I don't think you can
get the bottom three. So I means every team's in

(01:28:13):
it other than the Nationals, Rockies, and Marlins.

Speaker 4 (01:28:16):
Now, I'm not a big award guy, especially in the season.
I don't care about the Cy Young Award or the MVP.
So it's who's going to emerge in the MVP race.
I don't care, but I am intrigued in Paul s
Kenes with another one of these bullet points?

Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
How much more do they let him throw? They're in
the wild card chase?

Speaker 4 (01:28:33):
You know, it's I think you would agree it's a
surprise that he's already pitching in the BIGS. I don't
think anyone could have hoped that he would be in
the show this quickly and then being this effective. Now,
he was pulled from the game whenever he had the
no no, not because of a pitchcot, aren't he but
because he was tired. So is there a chance that

(01:28:54):
the pirates might shut him down and not completely shut
him down, but maybe start limiting his start and try
to be smarter to make sure that he's ready for
the future as opposed to trying to force something.

Speaker 2 (01:29:04):
Now, I'm not sure. I mean, you're not gonna push
it if that's what you're saying. Yeah, you're gonna see
the air on the side of caution, and you know,
give him the extra day here, give him the extra
day there. I'm not gonna shut him down. I'm not
gonna start playing that game and handling him with kid
gloves and that baloney. That's not the way to do it.

(01:29:25):
You know, Let him continue as long as he feels fine.
Maybe take a start away from him, you know, or
push back and start here or there. Otherwise, though, you
continue and see what happens, and.

Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
Then look at that. Is that the most baseball we've
done on this show in a.

Speaker 2 (01:29:41):
Long time, A long time? Wow, I try to get
it out of you. You never liked talking about it.

Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
Well, and Jason points out Interleague baseball starting in ninety seven.
I said, ten years ago. The inter League's been going
on for twenty three years. Ten years ago, yeah, I said,
he Hey, everything is like ten years ago to me.
If you tell me something happened in the nineties, I'll
be like, a couple of years ago. Wasn't that long ago?

(01:30:08):
So didn't put a rap on making sure I hit
this because Arnie Roman numeral number five, I feel like
has been in every rundown for every show that we've
done the last few weeks, and I'm fascinated with it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:20):
I want to talk about it.

Speaker 4 (01:30:22):
This show kind of gets away from us, but I
wanted to make sure we carved out some time to
ask a very important question. Do we care about the Olympics?
Is the interest level going to be high? Is it
going to be something that captures America in the next
couple of weeks. Are we going to be talking about
a non stop here on Fox Sports Radio from sun
up to sundown and beyond. Is it going to be

(01:30:42):
a big deal.

Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
I think it's going to be a big deal. I
don't know if we're going to be talking about it NonStop.
I am worried about, like any political protest or anything
like that that may happen. And jeez, with the climate
of what's happening nowadays, I'm sure that that's on you know,
a lot of people's minds out there. But I think
there's a lot of good stories and you know, a
lot of good sports to watch. It's not like the

(01:31:05):
NFL is going to be taking up you know, a
lot of your timeline. Sure they're getting going, but you know,
we're talking about preseason games and really they don't get
going until August. So I think we'll be fine. Well,
we'll enjoyed, we'll be able to concentrate on it. And
I always like the Olympics. I don't know why people
are sour on them.

Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Well, it's it's interesting because you have your own personal tie. Right.

Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
You were talking about the distance runner from Yeah, no,
from here, from Vermont. Oh she's from Vermont.

Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
I'm sorry, Yeah, she's from Vermont.

Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
We actually have a.

Speaker 4 (01:31:38):
Girl in my hometown of Wood River, Illinois that's going
to the Olympics too. So maybe for you and I
we might be into it for the hometown. And you
know what, let's be honest, I think that's a draw
for a lot of people, right, whenever you have small
town the big stage, small state on the big stage,
I mean, and you're playing for your country, performing for

(01:31:59):
your country, peating for your country. I mean, those are
some of the coolest stories this time of year. This
I say, this time of year, when the Olympics roll around,
it's the.

Speaker 2 (01:32:08):
Best, you know, And I'm not trying to humble Bragg.
I think I go jogging at four in the morning.
I see her jogging as I'm running by her, as
I'm passing her.

Speaker 3 (01:32:18):
You don't jog you four in the morning, And as I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:32:20):
Running by her, I think I see her.

Speaker 6 (01:32:22):
But maybe it's running away from the bear that's getting
you both?

Speaker 3 (01:32:26):
Are you both running from a bear?

Speaker 4 (01:32:30):
If you were really up and running at four am,
that would bring me so much joy, Arenie.

Speaker 3 (01:32:35):
That would bring me so much joy.

Speaker 4 (01:32:37):
And then just because I miss this, I need you
to talk me through it. And it was very convoluted
and I couldn't figure out what you were saying. What
exactly is Roman numeral number eight?

Speaker 2 (01:32:48):
The Fox Sports NFL predictions.

Speaker 4 (01:32:51):
Okay, then hold on, I'm not looking at it right
Roman numeral eight, says Myron Metcalf, asking something about Caitlin Clark.

Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
Thirteen. Sorry, sorry, man, So you don't know Ryan?

Speaker 2 (01:33:03):
Excuse me? You don't know Roman numerals, do you not?

Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
Or what?

Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
No?

Speaker 4 (01:33:07):
No, no, I just looked at it wrong. And the
only in my life ever sends me anything in Roman numerals,
I I is the Roman.

Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
You knew ten is zach, So you just counted three
down and you knew it was thirteen. So I mean,
come on, now, it's not that hard to figure out.

Speaker 3 (01:33:27):
So what is thirteen?

Speaker 2 (01:33:29):
Oh h The reporter asked Sheryl Reeve, the UH coach
for the international team, about Caitland Clark playing for future
national teams, and she just went off. She goes, why
would you ask me that? You know, I'm warning this
WNBA shut right now. And besides, I'm not on the

(01:33:49):
panel that picks the players. Why And she just like
got disturbed and bothered that she would have to answer
a Caitlin Clark question. And I'm like, what, you know, what,
what is this hatred?

Speaker 3 (01:34:02):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:34:02):
What's with the attitude just because somebody's asking you a
Caitlyn Clark question? Why don't you just say, Hey, she's
a great player. I'm sure she's gonna be on tons
of national teams in the future. You know, I don't
have a selection or a vote in the selection, but
I'm I'm sure she's gonna be on just about every team.
But instead, you gotta be negative, you gotta go ahead

(01:34:24):
and attack the reporter. I thought she was out of line.
I don't understand what happened there.

Speaker 4 (01:34:30):
I don't know if I've ever seen anyone handle a
superstar worse than the WNBA players and coaches seem to
handle Caitlyn Clark.

Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
You're one hundred percent right on that. I totally agree.
I don't know why that was. I always put it
out there because I'm like, what is her problem. Okay,
you know in answering the quick just saying yeah, she's
gonna be great on the future national teams, which she
could play. Now, I wish I had a vote in
this cant so we move on. But she gives such

(01:34:59):
an attitude, dude, And I'm a WNBA you know I
have a team shirt on. Why are you asking me that?
Just like you know what, what's wrong with you? How
dare you even though I'm the coach of the team,
why would you ask me something like that?

Speaker 4 (01:35:12):
Well, I gotta I got to back you up on
that too, because it's just it's a fair question. It's
the biggest story right now on the WNBA. People are
learning about other stars. It's the biggest story in women's basketball.
We got to start embracing it. In some of these instances,
it's just unbelievable. So she snapped on the guy.

Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
She snapped on the guy. You'll have to go ahead
and look it up. Maybe there's I don't think we
have the audio, but there might be some audio on it.
But it was was interesting that, I mean, it was
just a legitimate question, kind of like the Jerry Rice question.
I thought that was weird. What was that all about
that kind of I mean, people getting all, you know,
all snippety and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
I don't know if Jerry Rice drinks or not.

Speaker 4 (01:35:54):
I don't know, right And again, just that to me
is how I act when I get a up pops
in me where I'm like, what's your problem?

Speaker 3 (01:36:02):
What did you say? What'd you say? So?

Speaker 2 (01:36:06):
I just said hello, Chris, I just said hello.

Speaker 3 (01:36:08):
What do you mean Hello? What do you mean hello?
What do you mean? All right?

Speaker 4 (01:36:11):
So is there anything else in the obviously I can't
read Roman rundown that you want to hit?

Speaker 3 (01:36:17):
Yes, when we get to a football NonStop?

Speaker 2 (01:36:20):
Well, two things. One, first of all, rested pe Shedd
and Doherty. I was a big fan of her. I
liked the show Beverly Hills Now on two one to zero.
I know they were all close, all the actors and
actresses on that TV show. That was very sad to see.
And in the last couple of years she had a
really tough Chris. We all knew about what was she
was going through. There was an article about it, I

(01:36:41):
believe in People magazine. She wanted to have a kid,
Unfortunately she couldn't before she passed away. And this has
been going on a couple of years, so she knew
that it was close to the end and that must
be just terrible to live through something like that. So
I felt real bad, and when I wanted to ask you,
I was curious to get your answer. Is why am
I hearing all these rumors? It not rumors like Twitter

(01:37:04):
people could keep saying that Lincoln Riley could be on
the hot seat at USC and he better have a
good year this year. Is he Is he close to
being fired? Or would they possibly move on to remember?
Is that a bunch of boloney?

Speaker 3 (01:37:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:37:18):
I was listening to Colin Coward and apparently this is
all part of the plan. This is like the brilliance
that now that you don't have Caleb Williams, now that
you don't have the number one pick in the draft,
and now that you don't have you know, Jordan Addison,
that you're going to get the real Lincoln Riley office.

Speaker 2 (01:37:33):
So I get it now.

Speaker 3 (01:37:34):
Okay, No, you don't get it because it's Colin. What
are we doing? Buddy? I love you to death, You're
my guy. I love you.

Speaker 4 (01:37:40):
But that's just not a very good take because they're doomed.
They're absolutely doomed at USC. This is going to be
a three to four loss team this year.

Speaker 2 (01:37:49):
Does I mean he loses his job or no, he
doesn't know, but it is aren't.

Speaker 4 (01:37:53):
It's a new athletic director, it's a different person who
hired you.

Speaker 11 (01:37:59):
It's an arrow where you know we are. You're in
the big ten now, So I don't think so. But
it's it's not looking good, man, It's not. They haven't
necessarily recruited well, they haven't got better now. They did
not have good players.

Speaker 4 (01:38:16):
I mean if I talked to a couple of guys
that were on that staff and they were blown away
with how bad the talent was when they got there.
Blown away, Arnie. But you still have the number one
pick in the draftic quarterback in Heesman Trophy winner.

Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
You do job pretty quick though. Doubt about that.

Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
Paul.

Speaker 4 (01:38:30):
Yeah, I don't think he's going to get fired, but
but I do think I do think we're launching into
a very incredible week to figure out what the expectations,
what the mindset, what the push is going to be
from the place where he used to coach. Let's get
into that next right here on Fox Sports Radio. Tweets

(01:38:51):
have been good tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:38:52):
Don't you think, oh, well, lot, we're getting I know
I say that a lot, but I think this broke
a record or something.

Speaker 3 (01:38:58):
Darryl Wrights Plank.

Speaker 4 (01:38:59):
With all new respect, I'm not sure I've seen the
national media and fans whine their asses off the way
they are about a player in a long time. Stop
telling people what to say about Caitlin Clark. It's absurd
and really whiny. Not even Caitlin wines.

Speaker 2 (01:39:13):
I don't even understand that.

Speaker 3 (01:39:14):
True. No, here's the thing. Here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (01:39:16):
Now, if you say anything to like defend Caitlin Clark,
then you've you're you're whining for her or you're making
excuses right and people can feel the way they can't.
I agree, Listen, I'm not whining for I just if
I got a golden goose like for I'm not saying
I don't I know where my wagon is hitched too.

Speaker 3 (01:39:35):
I never say anything bad about Arnie. I got to
make sure I keep this relationship good.

Speaker 2 (01:39:39):
Hey, remember my prediction a long time ago. Remember that, well,
not that I was the only one, but I said
she's gonna find her way on the Olympic team. You
watch and see that was my my predictions getting close.

Speaker 4 (01:39:51):
I just I don't think I've ever seen anyone have
a golden goose that they've grinched and moaned more about.
And then you got people like yourself, Daryl, and there's
other people on Fox Sports Radio that then won a
grand stand and be like, oh.

Speaker 3 (01:40:02):
She's a She's just a whiner. It's like, no, she's
not a whiner. She just wants to play basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:40:08):
Yes, she plays wire and I love the way she
shoots the ball. I love the way she shoots the three.
I like, I like watch. I was watching her game today.
They won by three. I want to see if they
were gonna win and get the five hundred. Usually I
would even care about anybody in the w NBA yellowoaded
team that was sub five hundred. So, I mean, it

(01:40:29):
was ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (01:40:30):
Nature Boy asks a very good question. Do we need
to let the stinking genius have some time off tonight?
Might need to limit the number of hot takes he's
had to make this week while everyone else took time off.

Speaker 3 (01:40:40):
It's a fair question. You have been on a lot, right.

Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
You can work at tomorrow too with VJ. Husky ten
pm to two am Eastern for Jason Smith and Mike.

Speaker 3 (01:40:49):
Harmon shilling you guys. Four hours tomorrow night.

Speaker 2 (01:40:52):
Big four hours, lots to get to and you know,
I want to see what happens in that basketball game
with the with the USA and all.

Speaker 4 (01:40:58):
So you guys, basically, he's just gonna sit there and
tell each other how great Tua is and how great
the Dolphins are.

Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
You're gonna be okay.

Speaker 2 (01:41:05):
For only three and a half hours.

Speaker 3 (01:41:08):
So I like listening to VJ. He's good, this is good.

Speaker 4 (01:41:12):
Julian wrightes uh Pukakua came on strong the last eight games.
But I will say this, he is not a top
five wide receiver for me, but this year he may
certainly be.

Speaker 3 (01:41:23):
I agree with that.

Speaker 4 (01:41:24):
I basically, you eliminated everyone that's older. You eliminated Mike Evins,
you eliminated Davante Adams. I mean, Jamar Chase isn't old,
but I seems like he kind of eliminated him. Yes,
and then he went and looked at NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:41:38):
Thinks a lot to do with Joe Burrow too. What
do you mean just with the injuries and stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:41:45):
Oh yeah, yeah, no, no, no, I agree, But really,
what I think he did, Julian I think Arnie went
to NFL dot com and decided Toua was number one
and then took the next three receiving yard leaders. That's
what I think you did. And then you felt obligated
to throw Justin Jefferson in there. That's that's just my take.

Speaker 2 (01:42:00):
That's my feel obligated to throw Justin Jefferson in.

Speaker 3 (01:42:03):
There because losses and vikings.

Speaker 6 (01:42:05):
I'm all that surprise didn't put in Jaylen Waddle in
the top five to two.

Speaker 2 (01:42:09):
I wanted to believe me. I wanted to.

Speaker 4 (01:42:12):
See I didn't when he sent it to me. I
was driving to get to Dallas, so I didn't see
the list. But I jokingly with the person I was
riding with, said, I bet he's got two Miami Dolphins
on that list.

Speaker 7 (01:42:26):
I believe it too.

Speaker 3 (01:42:28):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:42:28):
And then one more quick one before we get to
saga in here for one final time, and I give
you my college football stuff, mister nobody. Analytics made the
NBA into a three point and donk contest. Analytics made
pictures burn themselves out by throwing as hard as they
can as long as they can, and destroyed the value
of batting averages. Now everything is about exit, about spin
rate and exit be low. Yeah, I was joking about

(01:42:51):
listening to the MLB Draft on MLB like I guess
it was on MLB Radio, And I don't think I
ever heard anyone's batting it. I don't think I ever
heard anyone's e er. It's all these advanced numbers, and
I'm like, I just how many art runs about at
end today?

Speaker 5 (01:43:06):
I have?

Speaker 1 (01:43:06):
They?

Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
Do you think one day will go one way or
the other, meaning that college will go to wooden bats,
or or the pros will go to aluminum bats or
that's not gonna happen either way.

Speaker 3 (01:43:20):
I don't think pros can ever go to aluminum bats.

Speaker 2 (01:43:22):
Yeah, I didn't think so either. That'd be too dangerous.

Speaker 4 (01:43:24):
But I'd like to see colleges go it said it's expensive, dude,
it's expensive, exactly, you got buy so many.

Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
Oh, I can't believe I missed this. I can't believe
I missed this from.

Speaker 4 (01:43:34):
Earlier from sooner Lisa how dare I who writes COPA
America Final at hard Rock Stadium, So there will finally
be a champion played there?

Speaker 3 (01:43:43):
Wow? Ouch, Alnie, it's it's it's.

Speaker 4 (01:43:50):
Just being a champion there. This year there was Argentina.
Argentina just just once and they had a champion play there.
All right, keep them coming. We got some time to
a few more of your tweets. Ee can find us.
I don't even know if I've given our Twitter handle
all that much toight. You guys have been on fire
at stink a genius one. I'm at playing show. Everybody
should be following us at Fox Sports Radio. And here

(01:44:12):
one final time tonight, the twitterless Steve de Seger with
what's trending, What's going on?

Speaker 7 (01:44:16):
Steve and a programming note. The next US Men's Olympic
basketball tune up games are Monday and Wednesday for Abu
Dhabi on FS one. It'll be US against Australia and
then against Serbia with the time difference noon Eastern time.
After that, the US has a couple exhibitions in London.
The Olympic tournament starts for him against Serbia July the
twenty eighth. There were four WNBA games today. That league

(01:44:39):
is off Tomorrow Saturday, the US Olympic women's basketball team
has its sendoff game against a team of WNBA stars,
and then that league will be off for about a month. Today,
Indiana eleven and fourteen one. It's game at Minnesota eighty
one seventy four. Caitlin Clark seventeen points. She had six
assists six turnovers. Clark from three point range was two

(01:44:59):
for a lo eleven. Seattle defeated Atlanta. Las Vegas won
again at Washington, Asia Wilson twenty eight points, seventeen rebounds.
Connecticut beat Phoenix Britney grinder and the loss did play
sixteen points, nine rebounds. The sendoff match for US women's
soccer is Tuesday in DC against Costa Rica before they
leave for the Olympics in Paris. The Copa America final

(01:45:20):
was a late night affair in Miami. Argentina in overtime
defeated Columbia won nothing. The start was delayed by almost
an hour and a half after thousands of fans without
tickets had rushed the gates. They had an extended halftime
for the Shakira concert, and then finally the game itself
ended after midnight Eastern time. Lionel Messi had to leave
in the sixty fifth minute with an ankle injury.

Speaker 3 (01:45:42):
It was swollen.

Speaker 7 (01:45:43):
Columbia outshot Argentina nineteen eleven, but did not win the
game and its unbeaten streak if twenty eight games has ended.
Spain won the Eurofinal to one over England ont a
goal in the eighty sixth minute. Spain had the possession
advantage sixty five percent to thirty five percent. Today Inlin,
mostly England fans on hand. England had tied it up
in the seventy third minute, but it was Spain that

(01:46:05):
went seven to zero in this tournament, winning a record
fourth Euro. England still has not won a major tournament
since nineteen sixty six, and they hosted the last Euro
tournament and made the final and lost on penalty kicks
to Italy in the final. Three years ago, Carlos Alcarez
swept Novak Djokovic to take the Wimblind title, his second

(01:46:26):
in a row. Alcarez is twenty one years old. He's
been in four major finals already and won all four,
including the French Open.

Speaker 3 (01:46:33):
This year.

Speaker 7 (01:46:34):
Roger Federer won his first seven Grand Slam finals of
his career. The British Open is this week in Scotland.
Scottish Open went to a Scott Robert McIntyre and Spain.
Sergio Garcia took the live golf event in Spain in
a playoff, his first pro victory in four years. The
golfer who could have won it, Andhrban Lahiri, failed to

(01:46:55):
secure the win when he missed an eighteen inch pott
on the eighteenth hole. So the runner up gets four
million dollars, as the runner up gets two and a
quarter million, and Garcia gets four mil so it's a
mere difference of one point seven to five million dollars
for missing an eighteen inch pot. Ryan Blaney won the

(01:47:15):
NASCAR race at Pocono's second victory this season. Denny Hamlin
finished second. Baseball is now on All Star Break in
the MLB. Today, Chris Sale thirteen and three got the
win for the Braves six to three at San Diego
by pitching today. He's not pitching in the All Star
Game Tuesday night on Fox TV from Texas Toronto. Eight
seven winners at Arizona, Vladimir Guerrero Junior or a solo

(01:47:37):
homer in the seventh for the lead. San Francisco with
a run bottom of the ninth beat Minnesota three to two,
and the Angels hit a three run home er bottom
of the eighth in a three to two win over Seattle,
which is lost three in a row, but the Mariners
are still first in the Als by one game over
Houston because Houston lost at home four to two to Texas.
The Rangers starting pitcher today was Max Scherzer. In four innings,

(01:47:57):
he had six strikeouts, no decision. Corey Seeger was added
to the AL All Stars for the injured Carlos Correa.
Baltimore beat the Yankees six ' five. Each team scored
three runs in the ninth. The Orioles take the break
alone in first in the AL East, one game over
the Yankees. The Oakland A's hit eight home runs today
at Philadelphia win. They did beat the Phills eighteen to three.

(01:48:23):
In fact, the Phillies only had four hits four for
thirty as a team. Philadelphia, by the way, as eight
All Stars this week, including five pitchers. That's a record.
Detroit against the Dodgers more excitement. Two runs bottom of
the ninth beat LA four to three. Dodgers had led
three nothing top of the first yesterday. The Dodgers lost

(01:48:43):
after giving up five in the bottom of the ninth
and a home run in the tenth, and the guy
who allowed the game winning homer yesterday, reliever Johann Ramirez,
takes the loss. Today he is zero to five. It's
not just the starting rotation that's having a front pretty good. Yeah,
the Dodgers record since May twenty first is now twenty
three and twenty four. Colorado hit six home runs and

(01:49:04):
they were not playing in Colorado. They beat the Mets
in New York eight to five, and it comes hit
six home runs and one at Saint Louis eight to three.
And then you've got the White Sox Pittsburgh beat him
nine to four. Pirates have won four straight. White Sox
have lost four in a row, and at the break
a record of twenty seven and seventy one for the

(01:49:24):
Chicago White Sox.

Speaker 3 (01:49:26):
Wow, that's terrible. Thanks Steve, have a great night, have
a great week.

Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
Have tomorrow off the sega. You could have tomorrow off.

Speaker 7 (01:49:33):
Might already have taken care of that, But thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
I got you cover. Don't worry about it.

Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
I still love the idea that you think that you
could control that for Steve.

Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
We'll see if he comes in or somebody else.

Speaker 7 (01:49:44):
He doesn't have much in his life, Chris, we got
to let it.

Speaker 2 (01:49:48):
Where's our producer Patrick Patrick here? Get Monzi on the phone,
see if she could work tomorrow night.

Speaker 3 (01:49:54):
I wonder, No, is it Monsi that's doing the update
for you tomorrow night? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:49:58):
Askar. I'll give her a call see if she could
work tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:50:01):
So then why did you make my man Curas have
to work tonight, Arnie?

Speaker 7 (01:50:04):
Yeah, you had so much power.

Speaker 2 (01:50:05):
Yeah, well you can't. You know, you can't do everything
or anything anything.

Speaker 4 (01:50:13):
So today starts SEC media Days, and I'm willing to
bet the over under on the number of times that
I call it big twelve. Media Days will be quite
a bit because that's where I've lived for the last
ever in my professional care.

Speaker 2 (01:50:28):
You're dating a new girl, don't call her by the
old name Chris. That's not polite. Don't do that.

Speaker 4 (01:50:32):
Yeah, you know, they tend to remember that too. I'm
just gonna say they tend to remember that.

Speaker 3 (01:50:41):
So just real quick.

Speaker 4 (01:50:42):
And for those that aren't familiar with media days, it's
a chance for a hotel to overcharge you for three
nights day and for a conference to charge you way
too much money to use.

Speaker 3 (01:50:52):
Their internet line. Were good? Yeah, and then you get
to hear from all the coaches.

Speaker 4 (01:50:56):
So tomorrow lsu Ole, Miss South Carolina and Vanderbilt on Tuesday, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee.
On Wednesday, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State and Texas. And then
on Thursday Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky and Texas A and M.
So here's my five story lines just quickly as it rude.

Speaker 2 (01:51:12):
By the way, if you say to Vanderbilt, can you
get out of the SEC and go to the like
Big East or something, You're not good enough or is
that rude?

Speaker 3 (01:51:20):
That is rude? But okay, I do have a wild
stat for you on Vanderbilt. Do you want it real quick? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:51:28):
Sure, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:51:29):
They have not had a winning season in the last
ten years. They've only had three since nineteen eighty two.

Speaker 2 (01:51:35):
Jake Cutler maybe.

Speaker 4 (01:51:36):
And in the not eighty two and in the history,
in the history they have nine Bowl appearances with no
ten win seasons.

Speaker 3 (01:51:47):
None but time to go.

Speaker 4 (01:51:51):
But they claim six national championships from nineteen oh six
to nineteen twenty two.

Speaker 2 (01:51:57):
I was like, when did the dead or something? I
didn't remember that.

Speaker 4 (01:52:01):
They have a one of Bowl games this twenty thirteen.
But they don't make my top five list. We kind
of but here number five. Do just go five on
number five?

Speaker 3 (01:52:08):
Oh? You in Texas.

Speaker 4 (01:52:08):
Oklahom is coming in on Tuesday, Texas on Wednesday, as
they heard Arnie, I'm curious to see how the coaches
handle like the what's going to be their bravado, what's
going to be their opinions or answers to the questions?

Speaker 3 (01:52:23):
All right here?

Speaker 4 (01:52:23):
You think you win a title, you think you win
a championship game, you know we're going to ask those questions.
I'm curious to see how Oklahoma in Texas handles and
how to sork, how does Brent Vinables, Quinn Ewers is
going to be here, Jackson Arnold is going to be here, Arnie,
I'm curious to see how they handle it, because you
know everyone's going to be trying to get a SoundBite
out of him to say, oh, we're here to win
the conference or we're here to take over the SEC
or something, which again is probably not going to happen.

(01:52:46):
But I'm curious to see how they handle those questions.

Speaker 2 (01:52:49):
Number four, Oh, I would come up with a little bravado.
I'd say, look, now that we're playing in a conference
more suited for our style, I feel better at winning
a conference more than ever. I'd be thrown out that
I'd be slinging mud all over the place. Chris.

Speaker 3 (01:53:03):
I like your bravado, thank you.

Speaker 4 (01:53:08):
But I don't necessarily know if that's going to be
the case. Number four Georgia, how dare they? They lost
one game last year and they didn't get to go
to the national championship or the four team playoff.

Speaker 3 (01:53:20):
But that's not the issue, ARENI.

Speaker 4 (01:53:22):
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, there have been twenty
four incidents in which an individual associated with Georgia football
has been apprehended by police for speeding, reckless driving, or
duy since the crash.

Speaker 3 (01:53:40):
That killed two people in January of twenty three.

Speaker 2 (01:53:43):
All three very serious, and people would say, well speeding,
just the infraction. All three are very serious. All three
costs lives. You think they would learn. Somebody's got to
go down and talk to him. The coach has got
to sit him down and talk to him as a
team and said this is not acceptable. You want to
start missing game time. Now we're gonna start missing game time.
And I think they'll go ahead and shape up real fast.

Speaker 4 (01:54:06):
Well, then why wouldn't they shape up real fast? After
a drag racing wreck that killed two members of the squad.

Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
I know, that's just horrible. It just makes it worse
that they do that too. It's it's just it's terrible situation.

Speaker 3 (01:54:18):
I can.

Speaker 2 (01:54:19):
By the way, do you know what else should do?

Speaker 3 (01:54:20):
Chris?

Speaker 2 (01:54:20):
To be honest, I.

Speaker 4 (01:54:21):
Don't either, but I think it's going to be interesting
to see how Kirby smart handles that when he's asked
about it this week.

Speaker 3 (01:54:26):
Number three.

Speaker 4 (01:54:27):
I think it's a league that's loaded with potentially future stars.
Now listen, I'm a homer. I could talk all night
about Jackson Arnold. But let me tell you about Nico
IAmA ley Ava. All Right, you ready for that one? Yeah,
Eama Layava. You want to try it? Nico IAmA Layava.

Speaker 2 (01:54:47):
Now I'm gonna take your word for that, Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
I think he's going to be a rock star. I
think that Texas A and m and Connor Wegman.

Speaker 4 (01:54:55):
I think he's gonna have He got hurt last year
and had a really good year, but could arch Man
he could this be a year where he ends up.
I think the SEC has a lot of potential at
the quarterback position in some of the young guys in
this league. Number two handling the hot seat, think he
had about four coaches in the hot seat now, Clark
Lee is one of them, but Arnie Florida's Florida's coaches

(01:55:16):
on the hot seat. Billy Napier is going into year
three and it's been the worst two year stretch that
Florida has had in like ever. He's eleven and fourteen
in his first two years. I think it's the worst
two year start in the history of Florida football for
a first year head coach. How do you handle the
hot seat? My man, Shane Biemer on the hot seat
in South Carolina? These might be some interesting jobs. And

(01:55:39):
number one, and I think it's the biggest question over
these four days. Does Alabama backslide a bit? You know
what was the Saban effect? Ken calein de Boor You know,
he's done everything right. He's one talking season, He's opened
up that program a little bit. But Nick Saban's Nick
Saban man, He's the goat. He's one of the greatest
coaches of all time. Will we see Alabama a little less?

Speaker 2 (01:56:01):
Bravado will see seems like they've still got the recruits.
But based on what I've been reading, they've been doing
finding that in that part.

Speaker 4 (01:56:09):
They're doing good. They're doing good and they still got
a top five recruiting class. They lost a lot of guys,
but that to me is one of the biggest storylines
I think in the sec not just in media days,
but going forward into the season. Can't wait to talk
about it next Sunday night here on Fox Sports Radio,
and can't wait to dive into it this week. But
when we come back, you know what the final segment
is for Oh, he's got his home run Derby pick

(01:56:31):
and his All Star Game pick. You're on the edge
of your seats and we'll bring it to you next
on Fox Sports Radio. All right, final segment for us tonight.
Call in on Monday Night with Arnie and at Big
Vanilla Funny is his Twitter hand J Husky VJ Husky
Tomorrow night and no toe Seger, but Disager. Great job tonight,

(01:56:55):
Patrick Austin producing the show. Really cool to have Kiras
in so that way, I didn't nerd out tonight. I
Kirius on production or connection talks. You should be proud
of me, probably if the boss Man was in here tonight. Also,
with time permitting, we're gonna do a few final tweets.
But Arnie Spaniard that's what everyone came for tonight is
what we've been counting down.

Speaker 3 (01:57:14):
To the stage.

Speaker 4 (01:57:16):
Is your yours taken away, stinking genius, what you got
for your part?

Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
Actually, I've got five predictions for you.

Speaker 7 (01:57:22):
Five them.

Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
Peter Alonzo is gonna go ahead and win the home
run contest. He actually cares about it, something he puts
a lot of thought into. He's one of the favorites,
if not the favorite. So I know I'm not going
on a heck of ale. Give me Pete Alonzo to
win the home run contest. And after the Nation League
won last year, after the American League dominated nine years
in a row, I'm gonna go back to the American

(01:57:45):
League to win the game and probably go with the
over they wouldn't liked ten to four or subding to
that effect. I think there's gonna be a lot of runs. Now,
let's get over to USA and Australia. That it's going
to be tomorrow on Fox Sports one at noon eastern
nine o'clock am on on the West Coast. I'm gonna

(01:58:07):
take Australia plus the twenty one and a half, so
a lot of lumber there, Chris twenty one and a
half I'm gonna take the over one eighty six and
that because I don't think the United State's gonna play
munch defense. And you're ready for this, Chris, I do
have some bad news for you, my friend.

Speaker 3 (01:58:26):
Okay, is it breaking news.

Speaker 2 (01:58:30):
If we report it even though it hasn't happened yet,
and we're the way when reporting it. Sure Canada is
gonna win tomorrow, I mean it should be Australia is
gonna win tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
You're picking Australia to beat Team USA and basketball?

Speaker 2 (01:58:45):
Yes, I am yes, I am Kay. You know they
have a lot of NBA players on that scene.

Speaker 3 (01:58:51):
Guess who else does what? Guess who else does the
United States? That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:58:58):
I tried to warn you. Don't blame the messenger. Chris.

Speaker 3 (01:59:01):
You're gonna be on the air during this tomorrow night.

Speaker 2 (01:59:04):
Well, the game's tomorrow afternoon, Oh, I said, okay, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:59:08):
So I want you to start your show with an
apology whenever USA whips Australia by thirty Well.

Speaker 2 (01:59:15):
If they lose, do you not think I'm not going
to play this back.

Speaker 3 (01:59:19):
I don't think you would know how to get it.

Speaker 4 (01:59:21):
And you tell every producer that they don't do anything
so I don't think they're going to do anything for you.

Speaker 3 (01:59:26):
It would be on you to find it.

Speaker 2 (01:59:27):
Yeah, I would do it myself if I had there.
You have my picks, do with it you please, No
longer strictly for entertainment purposes only, my friend.

Speaker 3 (01:59:35):
Sometimes I think you say things just to see if
anyone's paying attention.

Speaker 2 (01:59:38):
No, like I've been right out on my picks.

Speaker 3 (01:59:41):
I don't know. You haven't been able to tell us
one pick you got right.

Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
That's not true and not true at all.

Speaker 3 (01:59:47):
Well, name one.

Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
I told you I got the soccer right, You didn't
know I did. I got the Wimbledon r all that
I do?

Speaker 3 (01:59:57):
You do?

Speaker 2 (01:59:57):
You bother looking these things.

Speaker 3 (01:59:59):
Up him down? And you didn't get you actually had?
You had Team USA winning.

Speaker 2 (02:00:07):
Enjoy when you remember, that's funny.

Speaker 4 (02:00:08):
Joy when you remember you were talking about the Team
Australia and all the NBA players that they have, Dante Exhem,
Josh Giddy, Joe Ingles, yeah, uh, Patty.

Speaker 3 (02:00:23):
Mills good play among those that are on there. So
there you have it.

Speaker 4 (02:00:28):
Team USA going down tomorrow according to Arnie Span have
a blast tomorrow, all right. You enjoyed the show thanks
to Kiras, Thanks to Patrick, thanks to Steve, thanks to
all the editors beyond the scenes, but most importantly, thanks
to you guys for tuning in. We'll be back next
Sunday night stick around. We got what biggest Bertie Fratto
