Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
That's right, Martin.
Speaker 3 (00:04):
Why is Jay Husky coming to you live from the
ti raq dot com studios? Before we dive all the
way in here, we have got to adjudicate what just happened?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Can we get Can we talk to Manzi Bilanyos real quick?
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
I know you're in the middle of it doing the
reverse Martin where you go to hosteahow and then you
have to anchor the updates, so you're trying to figure.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Out way what the hell just happened?
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Legit.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
I know you're busy, so I don't want to bother
you too chilling, but what side of the argument did
you come down?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Uh? Oprah Taylor Swift.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Well, please explain to me what was happening last three
minutes of your show?
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Why this even went down?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Because it's flowed an entire debate.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
This debate has been going on for the entire week,
and it started with Aaron Judge versus Kitlyn Clark, and
we for three days, especially after Aaron Judge had three
hundred homers.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
I think it was Wednesday night, the fastest to ever
do it.
Speaker 5 (00:53):
So for three days this was a topic of conversation
and Caitlyn Clark is famous, Like I don't. It's not
about like that she's the greatest. It's not about being
the greatest athlete.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
It's like fame.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
Sure, right now is the most famous I think female athlete.
In five years, this could be a different conversation, but
right now, you know, that's how it all started.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
I said this to Steve and he couldn't get past it.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
But he quickly got past the judge and Kaitlyn Clark comparison,
and then he started throwing at us other women in
the competition here, and so Simone Biles came up, Taylor Swift,
Beyonce Oprah. I think that it depends. See Steve started
kind of changing the question for me to us. It's
(01:33):
like who is more famous?
Speaker 4 (01:35):
Now? If you put pictures? I think that's different.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
Like I think people know the name Kaitlyn Clark and
maybe don't know what she looks like. I asked a
couple of friends who are not sports fans at all,
and I was like, do you know Aaron Judges? No,
do you know Kaitlyn Clark is?
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Oh yeah, that.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Girl right from basketball?
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Like it's a name that you know, even if you're
trying to not know you can't get away from Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
But are we we're in agreements here though, that for
the Martin and VJ show. Sure, just just for a
to eleven, you know, we're an agreeance here that Beyonce.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
And he said showing pictures. Then he put Beyonce and
Taylor Swift showing pictures who people are going to recognize?
So I think that's different. I think showing pictures is
a different question.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
And I think if you.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Put Taylor Swift and Beyonce together's picture, I think pretty close.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
But maybe right now Taylor Swift just because of her
eras tour, I mean maybe it's.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Six and one half a half dozen in the other Yeah,
I think exactly clear. Beyonce, Taylor Swift, some own, Biles
and Oprah all more famous than Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Right, thank you? No, I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yes, I don't think so lot. Yeah, it's not close.
Speaker 6 (02:46):
Can I time in yeah, you opinion on Caitlyn Clarks. No, no, no,
we are in the sports world. You have to remember
that we are in the sports world. So of course
to us we hear and see Caitlyn Clark's name in
her face way more than the average American or world
walker does. But they all know who Beyonce, who Oprah,
(03:11):
and who Taylor Swift are before they would even think
to know who Caitlyn Clark is. Because of the industry
we are in, we are getting it from that side.
But I guarantee you if I called my mother right now,
who's in her mid to late sixties, and I asked
her if she knew who Caitlyn Clark was, she.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Would go who.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
So we did this, and that was my point.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
Ask people who aren't into sports, and I literally asked people,
ask random people.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Kaitlyn Clark was the name, like we did. It's people.
You can't ask sports people. You can't. I'm going beyond that.
So I disagree with you.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
No, my mom is not a sports person.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
No, I know, I'm disagreeing with you that Kaitlyn is
the most famous. I literally tested this. I said, you
have to ask non sports fans, and we went and
started texting people who are not sports fans and literally everybody's.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Like, I don know who Kalyn Clark is because of
the new Yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
But you see what I'm saying because of the news.
But they didn't need the news to know who Taylor
Swift was. They didn't need the news to know who
Oprah was. They didn't need the news to know who Beyonce.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Is for thirty fifty years.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
But that doesn't matter. That's part of it, that's part
of the of course.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
But right now, and I'm not I actually think Taylor
Swift is the most famous out of everybody here, out
of all of them.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
I just Kaitlyn Clark.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Can't got Beyonce. Y'all are bugging man, No, Taylor Swift is.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Taylor Swift is as much as much as it causes
me chagrin to say, because I think Beyonce is one
of the you know, top five Americans living.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
I don't know at the top of my head, I'm
asking a real question who who out sells who as
far as tours and.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Its honestly, it's not close. I got embarrassed on this one.
Is I don't know?
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yeah, I figured it was Taylor's.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
A long shot.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
Okay, yeah, that's because she's on tour. I know Beyonce
is not on tour, but Taylor is.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
She just did a tour, actually Beyonce did. They were
doing a tour overlapping each other.
Speaker 6 (04:56):
Overlapping is also doing the world. Okay, but Kaitlyn Clark, no, stop.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Because this is because really what it evolved into was
me and VJ going back and forth saying, all right,
who's more popular.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Taylor Swift or Oprah? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (05:09):
Exactly, that's the name I throw in there because you're
talking about a woman who is an icon, a business,
a brand, I mean, everything that you can possibly be
as a human being, woman walking the earth the last
forty years, and it's not twenty teens and twenties. I
give you a Taylor Taylor Swift teens and twenties and
(05:30):
then maybe into the thirties, but forty, the forties, fifties, sixties, seventies,
and eighty year old people will know Oprah before they
know Taylor Swift.
Speaker 7 (05:41):
Yeah, you're wrong because you got you got parents, sixty opinion.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I'm not wrong.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
About you're giving me ages.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
So I'm telling you why you're wrong about the ages,
because there's moms who are fifty and sixty and have
teen daughters early twenties daughters.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Were you thinking names they know Taylors?
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Who do you think they know first though?
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Of course, But if you know both of them then
you you kind of don't qualify.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
But we were talking about this because you know, I know.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Oprah because when I was a kid, my grandmother will
watch Oprah. I don't know, I used to record her
on VHS.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
She has her own network own.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
So that's like, you know, that's how that works.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
But then now all the parents of kids who are
anywhere from twenty five and younger, they all know Taylor
Swift because they spent thousands of dollars going to the
errors tour and so on and so forth.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Anyway, I just want to get that out of that.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Good going on for days. It's been going on for days.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
I was just trying to adjudicate that one because Steve
was just.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Steve was just taking it all over the place. But
this has been going on for days.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
He was he could see the stress in his eyes
and all that as he ran out of here to
go do TV.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Right.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
All right, So yeah, now that we got that done,
the new hotness not Taylor Swift.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Caleb Williams has played.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Exceptional so far in his preseason, going out today getting
a lot of reps, playing basically the whole first half VJ.
Your initial thought says, we've actually matter of fact, sorry
about that. We were broadcasting live from the tireck dot
com studio. Will help you get there with an unmaxed election.
Fast free shipping freuid has a protection over ten thousand
recommended in the Stallars tirerack dot com. The way that
(07:12):
tire buying should be now bj the new hotness. Caleb
Williams first overall pick Chicago Bears got a lot of
got a lot of run today, A little bit of
running game, won a lot of run today.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
What did you see out of the Savior in Chicago?
According to some people.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
I saw what I thought I would see out of
Kayla Williams today. He didn't throw the ball well, he
was under fifty percent. Guys, he's six or thirteen, Okay.
The run in the red zone where he's moving around
doing his Caleb Williams magic thing and waltzes into the
end zone. I don't know what Bengal players were out there,
but I would have I would be hard pressed to
(07:49):
think it was like all starters are mostly starters. Listen,
the guy is gonna be decent. I don't know how
great he's gonna be his rookie year. I think the
ceiling is a lot lower than most people are predicting.
And I know they've added a lot of pieces in
skilled positions, but you still are a rookie quarter back
and we don't get a CJ. Stroud every year. Peyton
(08:12):
Manning threw almost thirty interceptions his rookie year and turned
out to be a first ballot Hall of Famer, one
of the greatest to ever do it.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
We know that.
Speaker 6 (08:19):
But from what I see right now is a guy
who is gonna be able to move. He's gonna be
able to prolong plays, extend plays, and make some throws.
But there are still things that I saw today, a
lot of the incompletions his footwork.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
His footwork still needs to improve.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
It looks like the same footwork that I picked apart
when he was at SC. When he was at Oklahoma,
he was able to really kind of escape a lot
of those footwork issues because of the way he was.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Able to move around.
Speaker 6 (08:48):
And Oklahoma's in that type of offense with Lincoln Riley
as the head coach, and you can kind of gloss
over some of the quarterback mistakes because they put up
forty eight points forty six to forty five points a Saturday.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
But I saw today was decent work.
Speaker 6 (09:01):
I'm not gonna bang on the kid, but I'm definitely
not about to put a crownd on him or him
put a crown on himself like Lebron loves to do,
and look at the numbers and still look.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
At the tape and say, okay, buddy six or thirteen.
You know, you still have.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
A lot of work to do, and it starts with
his fullwork. But I'm okay with, you know, the performance
today because he's a rookie and this is his first
prolonged action and you know, we'll see when the season
starts and when you're out there every down, every play,
and it's live ball and all the starters are out there.
But I thought, okay, today wasn't nothing for me to
(09:35):
send a Christmas card home to about.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Yeah. No, I thought he was an exceptional today. I
thought he was really good.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
The thing that did concern me is, actually, ironically enough,
some of the highlights. I feel like he bailed from
the pocket a little sooner than he needed to on
a couple of his plays.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
But I was encouraged by the.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Way that I mean he is when he's on the move,
he is looking to make plays downfield, even on that
rushing touchdown that he had, he's you know, he wants
to throw the ball, and I feel like we haven't
seen that really out of a quarterback besides maybe I
mean Patrick Mahomes is obviously the number one corollary of
(10:14):
guys who are moving around too fine extra time to
throw the ball, but moving in that way like Kyler
Murray is another one kind of like that who doesn't
like got all the speed in the world, would rather
not run, you know, would rather not run, will run
if necessary, and it's very effective when he does so.
And that's not a knock on any of them, right
like that, that's the furthest thing from an insult, So
(10:35):
please don't confuse it as such. But what I saw
out of Kayleb Williams today, as you know, I wish
that he would kind of hang in the pocket a
little while longer he bailed out, maybe a step before
he needed to bail out. But this is almost like
watching to me, it's like watching a great musician learn
how to play sheet music, right Like, there's all types
(10:56):
of guys who learned how to you know, musicians like
I think freaking Beethoven was.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
He had listen, learned how to play the.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Piano by putting his ear to the ground yep, right
as they were playing the field, so he can feel
the vibrations of the sound. Right, So like is that exactly?
That's not reading the difference between A minor and C sharp? Right,
That's what Kayleb Williams is doing at this moment, trying
to find the differentiate what's a minor, what's B flat?
Speaker 2 (11:18):
What's C sharp?
Speaker 3 (11:19):
As he learns how to play fundamentally the position of
quarterback hanging in the pocket, how's my footwork supposed to be?
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Sawing?
Speaker 3 (11:26):
And over what we saw on that that pass that
he threw to Adunze where he's rolling out wrongs his
left hand, his left side is to the sideline, ends
up squaring his shoulders flicking that ball down the field
was some forty yards.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
That doesn't surprise me. It's more what are we.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Gonna because I'll just say this, it doesn't not It
doesn't surprise me because.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
We've seen that out of Kayleb Williams. Now. Is it
jaw dropping? Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (11:50):
But it's not surprising now seeing him go in the pocket,
go from read one, read two, read three, reset his
feet be able to turn and rip it. He had
a couple of those in Game one, had a couple
of those in Game two. To me, that is going
to be the backbone of his success, and then everything
else that he does are gonna be. That's the whip
(12:11):
cream on top of it. Do you see what I'm saying?
That's her, That's the banana in the split. Is him
getting his footwork together and getting everything right, and then
everything else the Oh I'm gonna I'm gonna dip around
out the back of the pocket, the back way, turn
around and throw the ball forty yards downfield. That is
the cherry on top. That's the whip cream. That's what
everybody saw. It said, you know what, we gotta really
(12:33):
see if there's a banana and two scoops of vanilla
in here before we can go ahead and move on.
Speaker 6 (12:37):
Yeah, also too, before we go any further. You're not
getting away with this. Ay, Sam, give me some birthday music, Guys,
everybody out there in radio land today is my co
host to my rights birthday. I'll let him tell you
his age, cause I don't know if he wants it
out there. I know his age, but today, not yesterday,
not tomorrow, not.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
This past week, not coming this week. Today is martin
Licensed birthday. Happy birthday. Can we got Stevie Wonder Happy
birthday music and song man for my guy right here?
Speaker 6 (13:07):
Going on three years this there we go play that.
Here we go three years man in October, Martin and
I've had this show Man, and uh it's been a pleasure.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Man.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
I know some days we go at each other. Some
shows we are you Mark. There's times Martin and I
haven't talked doing commercial break. We go to commercial break
and don't say anything. Twitch it gets like that, but
I've enjoyed it. Man, in real talk. Birthday is a
really special good Lord has brought you around the sun
one more time, my brother. So happy birthday, real tall man,
Happy birthday to you man, Thank you?
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Are you gonna tell herbut I hold you first.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
I'm gonna say.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
I remember in one of those times that we were
arguing and he wouldn't respond to being commercial break, and
I told him I'm thinking of becoming a woman. Y'all
should have seen his face because he took his headphones
out and looked at me. I was like, oh, so
you can't hear it, So you can't hear me. Okay,
got it. I'm a woman, so you can't hear me.
(13:59):
I was just to make sure your ears only didn't
work period, so you can't hear me, all right, jerk,
But it's a it's a it's the part of growth, man.
I think that's why our show is so dope.
Speaker 6 (14:11):
That's why I pump our show the way I do,
and I talk positively. I've said I've text Martin at
one and two in the morning. Man, Look, we're up next.
We're gonna have I not We're up next next time.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Here's a weekday spot were getting that.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
I've text this man at one and two in the
morning because I'm passionate about what I do. I'm a
believer in what I do, and I'm a believer of
the guy that sits to my right. And like I
tell you, I joke around. We're the new odd coupled,
you know, you know, tongue in cheek, but we are
total opposites. But we both love this business and we
love this show. We love sports, we love talking, we
love everything that has to do with this. So I
(14:48):
just want to make sure you get proper props. Man
to my partner, Happy birthday, y'all tweet everybody listening, and
y'all tweet happy birthday at Martin White's at Big Vanillafuni
at Fox Sports rad Now.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I appreciate that. I will say this.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
I am thirty five years old today, which is not
too old for a radio host, but probably too old
for a quarterback.
Speaker 6 (15:06):
You're not gonna walk on in Michigan. We talked about
that yesterday. You're not gonna go back and walk on
in Michigan. You've got eligibility. But I do want to
say he's older than me. Yeah, as a mark of mark,
as a mark of wine. Some guys shouldn't be pursued
after in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Is older than you.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
STEP's older than you. There's guys, all of them, James
Harden and James Harden I believe at the same birthday. Oh,
happy birthday to James. Okay, yeah, I also think that's true,
one of one of the four from the Clippers. Uh,
we have the same birthday because I remember being like, golly,
you guys are old.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Maybe it's maybe it's rouss birthday.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
It's not James Harden, he's the twenty sixth.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
It's well, do you know what that's what it is.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
He's a week after, he's a week at okay, So
happy birthday at the early birthday to James Harden.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Thank you very much for wish. Happy birthday to me.
Eat the pizza in the living, in the whatever, the
common area, so I don't just burn that money common area.
I can't the kitchen. Whenever it's called the cat, I
call it the cafe.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Speaking of the kitchen, it may just be time for
one guy to get up out of it. We'll get
to that coming up next. Martin Wise's Vija Husky on

Speaker 2 (17:23):
I was joking. It was a joke. Baby was in
poor taste, but it was a joking. On the left.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
DJ Barnerca says, happy birthday to the half of the
greatest show on radio.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Who's the other hat? And I'm just kidding? Hold on
who said that? Uh? The villain you need? He only
tagged me in it? Oh okay, okay, yeah, yeah, you
know what? What's his name?
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Actually he did tag you and then and then follow
up tweet thing villain to havel to go. Okay, brother,
let's see hammering. Hank says, happy birthday my new favorite
weekend radio show.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Thanks Rashan Mitchell. Same story. Mark bergan O, our heroes
wear capes. Happy birthday, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
Somebody named Monsie Bilanos responded to the tweet. She followed
directions yea, VJ said, hey, tweety, and she sure did.
Let's see here preseason acts all over the place. MANSI
will update you on it in just a moment here,
But VJ, I want to update you on how Russell
Wilson has looked so far.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Help me. He looked like he's.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Older than me trying to play quarterback in the NFL,
which is exactly what he is.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
And it looks bad so far. It looks bad.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Pittsburgh just put their first three points of the day
on the first half on the board right now, as
Justin Fields let them down to a field goal drive.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
But here's the thing, VJ.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
I don't know if Russell Wilson will be able to
stay upright behind the Steelers offensive line.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Yeah, this line is terrible. This line's bad.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
And it is just one more data point onto why
Justin Field should be the starter in pittsbur yep, because
he has the ability to get away. Russell Wilson's got
the escapability of like red and saut Shank redemption he's
staying in jail till he gets out right. He's not
breaking out, He's staying in there. He's got the escapability
(19:14):
of the car at four forty five on the four
h five. You're gonna be stuck here for a minute.
They're gonna be stuck here for a minute. Yeah, you're
not going anywhere. No, if those tackles and guards just
send it, a'll hold up. Guess what it's over. Yep,
second and fourteen, third, seventeen. That's the way it's gonna
be going for the Pittsburgh Steelers if they decide that
(19:35):
they want to start Russell Wilson at quarterback.
Speaker 6 (19:37):
It feels like they're trying to give Justin Phils every
opportunity to win this job. But being a field supporter,
I man, I tell you, I just don't think he's
done enough to solidify taking the job from Russell Wilson.
They are trying to give him every opportunity to take
(19:58):
this job. He has got play better himself. Now they've
had quarterback issues here. I'm starting to feel like this franchise,
ohs big Ben Roethlisberger. Maybe he should get a statue.
I think coming out, you feel what I'm saying right
because it feels like that that guy drafting him when
(20:20):
they did. Now, remember, guys, Maddox was the starter. He
got hurt big Ben legend. Yes, big Ben took over
and then just never gave the position back. And I
believe when his first twelve starts or eleven start something
like that, you know, checking for me. But it just
really starting to feel like, man, Mike Tomlin and Pittsburgh,
you guys got lucky, right, you guys got blessed that
(20:44):
you were able to have him cover so many deficiencies
that this team probably had that we never saw. And
now that you don't have him, what does their quarterback
room look like? Six been big Ben retired? It's atrocious.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
I can tell you got Kenny Pickett, Mitchell Trubisky, U
two first two top ten picks. Who's a hard boy
from Oklahoma State who got hit Mason Mason, Rudolph Mason,
I went the grad school of Males, Rudolf Mason, Rudine.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Mason, Rudolph Mason, Rudolf. Yeah. It's and then and now
look what you look what they're working with. They're working
with Justin Fields, a top pick.
Speaker 6 (21:22):
Russell Wilson a Super Bowl former Super Bowl champion, Like
it's it's been a revolving door here and now all
your glaring needs, all your deficiencies are right there for
the world to see when you don't have a quarterback.
When you have a quarterback, they can cover so much
and it makes the head coach even look good. And
(21:43):
I'm not saying Mike Thomas not a good coach, because
I think he's a great coach, but I think he
probably would have been out of there a little while
ago if not.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
For Big Ben.
Speaker 6 (21:51):
I just hope, I hope Phil's really just takes the
reins on this and wins this job because Russell Wilson
I said two years ago on Fox Sports Radio when
Denver traded.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
For He's done.
Speaker 6 (22:02):
Guys, He's done's done.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
He'll never be that quarterback again. But he won't even
be a good quarterback anymore.
Speaker 6 (22:11):
The name is bigger than the attribute and the talent
that you're going to get from it. And remember, Martin,
I told you when we first started talking football, Ian
checked this out this year.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
I will not let names cloud my judgment.
Speaker 6 (22:25):
I'm going to just look at the tape and look
at you know what it is like the Dolphins sound
O'Dell Beckham, people like, hey, if you y'all got Odell Beckham,
I'm like, okay, bro put the tape on the last
three years last year, not to put it over the
last three years. And he's three years older now, and
he was hurt last year in Baltimore. I just think
Justin Fields needs to take the reins on this, or
my Marvin Martin. They can be in a lot of trouble. Man,
(22:46):
if they can't get this quarterback thing.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Together, well, they hit are trying, and they might. I
mean still, let's be honest. Picking between Russell Wilson and
Justin Fields is like picking between broccoli and asparagus.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Your kid's not gonna like either one, right, Like you.
Speaker 6 (23:02):
Got and you gotta put cheese on one and you
gotta wrap the other one in bacon.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Yeah, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta figure which one
out it's It is definitely the lesser of two evils, right,
None of this is what we're actually trying to do.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
You no, Right, It's like between a bike and a scapeboard.
You gotta go fifteen miles. Who is the job? I
think it should be Justin Fields? But who do you
think wins the job. I think they'll end up doing
I think starting Russell wall it's hard to say Pittsburgh,
but they have.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
They do not owe him anything, both monetarily and like,
which is almost been.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Your point is what they're paying him is what you
like him being there? Yeah, that's it, that's it. It's
a great backup salary.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Yeah, I know this though, I know Sean Payton smiling
in Denver as you watched Russell Wilson get sacked three
times and like two possessions. Let's go over here and
kick it to Monceys for what's trending.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Moncey, welcome back. What's with cheese or without?
Speaker 4 (23:57):
Without?
Speaker 9 (23:58):
It?
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Weird? I like, I do, I look right?
Speaker 2 (24:02):
But at what age did you like?
Speaker 4 (24:03):
You're right?
Speaker 5 (24:04):
Maybe when I was little little I didn't like it,
But I feel like as in a majority since maybe
I was a teen.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
I like broccoli.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Actually, ironically enough like bothroc What do you favor though, broccoli?
Sparagus or broccoli? What do you favored? Think asparagus went
done right is better than brack?
Speaker 3 (24:19):
I agree, it's just randomly, it's very I feel it
very rarely you've done right?
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Lightly, lightly salta with a little sea salt for asparagus,
and way still gets a little crunch to it out.
Yeah all day.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
But yeah, aren't you like a chef part time at all?
Speaker 11 (24:35):
Right?
Speaker 5 (24:35):
I see it like a chef, So I'm sure you
know because I don't do any of them.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
I don't know how to cook anything. Are you serious anything?
Speaker 2 (24:44):
So you're like Dina, You don't.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
I'm not Latina.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
If we put you, if we put you in a
house right and you're by yourself, there's a parantry full
of food.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Crap, you're gonna start.
Speaker 6 (24:56):
Today, no process, no process where everything is wrong, everything
is Oh yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Would start to death. I would eat it wrong. I
would eat it. I can make you eggs.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
I've never seen chicken cold and sorry, yeah she didn't
know his chicken.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Okay, Yeah, no, I can make you eggs. I'm really
good at following instructions. So like, if you were to.
Speaker 5 (25:16):
Leave me with things and you got to do this,
I think figure it out.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
Okay, But no, I don't.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
I do not perceive myself to be a great cook. Yes,
but can you put me in Whole Foods next door?
Speaker 3 (25:29):
I can buy enough stuff and know what to do
to where I could eat dinner for at least four days.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
In a row.
Speaker 5 (25:34):
I could not tell you what to do like right
now where he was like a little saw, a little
of this, a picture of this.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
What No, I would just eat it wrong.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
I'm giving you a broccoli to me is like the
last ten years. Up until then, I couldn't stand it
until someone says, hey, toast it in the oven, a
little balsam bits over and eat it that.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
And once I was like, wow, Brustsel sprout, same thing.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
Brussels sprout also really good.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Really, they might smell a little bit as broccoli, but
they're both good.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
I'm with you, I'm with you.
Speaker 5 (26:03):

Speaker 4 (28:01):
They beat the Aces earlier today. Back to you, guys.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
Thanks Monsie, appreciate you. Also.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Congratulations Kevin AM from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (28:13):

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Yes, Kevin M number two of three to win four

fifteen one hundred dollars graduations with Kevin EM another one.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Uh boy, I love that contest, man, I love those rees. Baby.
Congratulations with Kevin M. Baby new tires. Man.
Speaker 6 (29:08):
Listen tires in California. You guys don't change your tires
out here back East where I'm from. You're forced to
cause you have four real seasons. You have snow, you
have rain, you have sleet, you have all ice. They
put salt, they put on the ground, sand they put
on the ground. Out here in LA you could tell
who don't change their tires until it rains. That's what
you can tell who doesn't change their tires in Los
Angeles because you got never rains. There's never any war
weather out here.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
It very much reminds me of one day about eight
months after living here, I drove was dry. I'll never
get those driving through, and I said, you know, when
is earthquake season used to hurricane seasons or tornado seeing.
Oh wait, there is no such thing as earthquake season.
They just pop out.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
They just I better get right. It could be earthquake
right now.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
There's fire season out here, though. You know those fires
are coming, and you know that's coming at which is
in about a month, just when it starts. Speaking of fire,
there's been one rookie on fire. That's Moliaque neighbors. Yeah,
he looks great. He has looked great. So he just
looked great so far with you, sorry tweet, I think
from vacation.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Yeah, is he on vacation? At least he was Okay,
well he's responding.
Speaker 6 (30:11):
There's some other people that have jumped in on it too,
and this is my guy, Aeron Torres, who follows us
here on Saturday on Fox Sports Radio and does a
lot of feeling work. Was one of the first guys
I filled in with when I first got a chance
to get on air here. Not just sitting in on
Mike kill Show with Kurt Morrison back in the day
and sitting on the YadA Couple. They put me with
Air Torres. So we've done a ton of shows together.
We've done a ton of football, baseball, basketball tal together.
(30:32):
But I saw tweet that he put out today about
Malik Neighbors, and what was inaccurate about the tweet is
that he said that he was better than Maserati Marv
Harrison junior last year in college football.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
One moment. I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Shout out to Gus Johnson. Keep doing it. You need
more nickname. Yes, Mazarati, Marv Fantas, Oh my god, that
Hollywood Brown fantastic, Absolutely, all the other play by play guys.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Out there, Look at Noah Eagle the rest day, I'll
put you all on watch. We need more nickname.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
Yeah, continue now, if if you really want to look
at last season and you really think that he was
better than Masarati MARVH. Let's understand something here, Mazarati Marvin,
I've said this before, and I just watching him. He
looked on cruise control last year because remember there was
a balance in the decision for him to make whether
(31:23):
he was going to sit out last year and not
play and just get prepared for the draft. And then
the closer we got to the college football season, they said, okay,
he's gonna go ahead and play. They lose a couple
of receivers in the NFL and Gary Wilson and h
and Jigba Smith, you know the Smith and Jaga Jaga Smith.
And I said, which way is always Jackson's Smith and
(31:44):
Jacoba Smith and Jigma thank you?
Speaker 2 (31:47):
So he lose, Yes, you lose those two guys. So
he comes back in play.
Speaker 6 (31:52):
Malik Neighbors two years ago had just barely got over
one thousand yards at one thy seventeen and then went
for fifteen hundred. Malik Neighbors needed to play last year
to even consider to be a first round draft pick.
Masarati Marv was touted to be a top five pick.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Two years ago.
Speaker 6 (32:12):
We have to stop this idea that someone has a
great year and now we want to start to say, oh, well,
he was better than that guy. He's Maserati Marv. Let
me tell you, guys. So it is in his blood,
it is in his DNA when you watch him one routes,
when you watch him catch the ball, when you watch
him dominate corners. And he did it against everybody. He
(32:34):
didn't do it against guys that won't be playing on Sundays.
He did it against guys that was playing on Sundays.
There's a reason why he could go the entire process
to the draft and not do any work. Guys, there's
a reason for that. It's still be taken number four.
Speaker 9 (32:47):
Overall.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
The thing was, as you remember in the Giants Hard Knocks,
he was working, but he's like, I ain't gonna do
all this shuttle drill forty yards to him, just like
that look pairing to be an NFL wide receiver, Y'A
don't know, y'all, are you know?
Speaker 2 (33:04):
It's like studying for the test.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
You know what I'm saying exactly, I'm gonna go ahead
and go do it in the real world. Also to you,
you can't which you cannot discount in my opinion, the
last year for both of these guys in college, Jane
Daniels won a Heisman. Thank you, that's the award given
to the most outstanding best football player in college football
(33:25):
that year. Throwing to Brian Thomas and also elite neighbors.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
Not a knock on neighbors, but when.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
You got all due respect, Kyle McCord, thank you, throwing
you the ball you There's maybe there's a reason why
Marvin Harrison had three games this year where had under
seventy receiving exactly.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Because just look at the rest of Ohio. Ohio State
has more.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Receivers than the last I mean from Smith and Jig,
but to Chris Oliva, to Garrett Wilson.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
To we can go back to Michael Thomas.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
That's what That's the other one, Abuka right now, like
these guys are first round talents, like they know what
they're doing over there. It was the quarterback that was
holding Marvin Harrison junior back in college and he didn't
need he didn't need to play last year.
Speaker 6 (34:10):
We're all in agreement. If if Mazarati Marv doesn't play
last year, guys, is he's still a.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Top five pick, he's at least a top fifteen. Okay,
that's to you understand why he's not playing Neighbor.
Speaker 6 (34:19):
If Neighbors doesn't play last year, where's he drafted third
or fourth round? A third or fourth round because two
years ago, like I said, one thousy seventeen yards, you
were not taking him in the first round if he
doesn't play last year, and you look at the take
from two years ago and it's one thousand and seventeen yards. Sorry, guys,
let's let we have to just stop doing this where
we see a catch like the catch he had today. Listen,
(34:42):
that's a basic receiver catch. Okay, he went up over
his head backwards. I've seen high school kids make this catch.
Let's stop looking at highlight plays and then try to quantify.
That was saying they're better than somebody that really didn't
even have to play. And I thought all year long,
and I said it Saturday after Saturday or Martin VJ
after Ohio State games. He looked on cruise control as look,
(35:05):
let me just get through this year. I'm not trying
to get hurt. I don't have a great quarterback. And
when they came to the bowl game, who didn't play.
Marvin Harrison Junior was like, nah, I'm just I'm good.
I don't need to do anything at the combin. I
don't need to do that. Yes, he was working. I
just when I saw that comparison, it's like, okay, here
we go. Now now all of a sudden, we're gonna
look at a highlight catch and quantify that with this
(35:25):
guy being better than a guy who's two years ago.
Do you guys not remember the bowl games and then
the big games Marvin Harrison Junior has had. I just
that's something that I'm gonna I'm gonna bash that and
fight back and bang at all year long if we're
gonna try to do these comparisons. I think Malite Labors
has had a very good preseason in camp.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
We'll see what's up. Guess what.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
His quarterback threw two picks today and he's coming off
of an ACL so let's make sure we keep that
in the process of judging. And one guy's got Kylin
Murray as his quarterback. Gimme maserati, Marv, he's not at
a high no more. So I'm good man, I can now,
I can roof for the guy. He's my guy coming
up next.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
This type of play generally reserved for basketball saw on
a football field today.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
What does it mean? And more?
Speaker 3 (36:11):
Martin Wise's BJ Husky Fox Sports Saturday.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Martin Wis v J Husky coming to your life from
the tire rack dot Com Studios.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
VJ.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
You most of the time, when you see a behind
the back pass, it's generally like Lebron cutting down the
middle of the lane dumping it off to the big man. Yeah, right,
didn't he throw behind the back in the Olympics of
Kevin Durannam I'm missing that. Somebody drove the lane and
he dropped it off. It was really the passes of
the tournament.
Speaker 11 (36:47):
Alright.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
Well, now Patrick Mahomes is doing it, and apparently he
did it, you know.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Now it wasn't like called out.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Apparently Travis Kelcey messed up the play and Patrick mahone
said as a result, he was forced to throw it
behind his back. But I'll just say this, man, we've
seen Patrick Mahomes. Now du no looks underhands. If he
starts to throw the ball behind his back, I think
that that place Sha'll automatically come for a first down.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
The field.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
I told Martin Durham, break, I'm Pat Mahomes is just so.
He's just so damn good he is. Man, I'm becoming
a fan very fast. It started with Quarterback. It started
with the show Quarterback and uh, just watching his work ethic,
watching how he trains. And it's not luck. It's not magic.
He really trains to contort his body. He really stretches
(37:41):
and trains to do the things that he does out
on the field.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Because you hear people go, oh, it's luck or.
Speaker 6 (37:46):
There was an anonymous weren't are anonymous offensive coordinator a
GM or somebody that says after his first read it's
street ball. Wasn't that said at some point last year? No,
it's not, guys, he's really just that damn good. And
I've listen, I've picked them apart. I've banged on them before.
I've said things about Pat Mahomes, but I've also said
that when you show me different information, I'm allowed to
(38:09):
change my mind. I'm not going to double down and
stick with an opinion that is just completely Often the
world can see that is off. If you're not a
fan of Pat Mahomes and you don't like the Chiefs
that's fine.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
You're allowed to have that.
Speaker 6 (38:22):
But just as a football guy, as a football person
man and a football fan an enthusiasts, I watched him
today and I know it's preseason.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
But you can tell he's locked in, he's ready. They're
going for Ring three. They know what's on the table,
they know what's on the menu. And I said weeks ago,
they're the Patriots to me. Now, until someone can consistently
keep them.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
Out of the super Bowl, I'm not picking against them.
And that's I don't care if my Dolphins start off
twelve and one and you guys could come in and go, okay, VJ,
come on, they're twelve and one. Man, you gotta call
him a contender. Now, No, they're not until someone beats
them in January he keeps them from the super Bowl
on a consistent basis, I will not go against them.
(39:07):
I'm am a one fan of Pat Mahomes. That that guy,
he's the man. And it's not even close to second.
It's him, and then it's just everybody else and I
don't think it's close. And that pass today and it
wasn't a great pass mark, it was low, like Kelsey
had to kind of reason out for.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
But the fact that it's the odd honestly, it's the
add Dad's r try it just like the balls to
do it. It's it's amazing. I'm a fan. I'm sold.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
It's It's kind of like when we're talking about Caleb
in the first segment of the show, where it's like,
it's not the backbone of his what he does well, right,
it's not the backbone, but if for damn, sure's the
whipped cream and the cherry on the top. When you
look around at that, it's like that. I mean, watching
that today was just a moment of you've got to.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
Be kidding me. Is this what we have to look
forward to?
Speaker 3 (39:57):
Like as as guys who just watched the Chiefs and
do not actively root for the Chiefs, is this is
what we have to look forward to.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
This is what it is.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
And there's not even like Olympic football where we all
have a moment like you know, we've rooted against Steph
Curry for years, all of a sudden, now he's hitting
shots for my team. He'll never be throwing these behind
the back passes for my team ever, So I just
have to deal with this.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Ever, it's like Brady, right, Brady was never gonna play
for your team. So it's either you just just put
your hands up man and just go hey man, that's
that's the guy right there. I just hope my team
could beat them once, Like, what's next? What's that? What
they do next? Throwing with his foot? They call that kid?
Might he might try it?
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Coming up next, will VJ change one of his bold proclamations.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
We'll see Martin VJ.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (40:47):

Speaker 3 (41:01):
Martin wise VJ husky in here on a Fox Sports Saturday.
You know, honestly, I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna
go ahead and call it. It's a Fox Sports Football Saturday. Yes,
it's a Fox Sports Football Yeah, all this preseason. Actually,
I know you hurt mantsa Belanyo says a minute ago,
running down every single relevance stat as we proceed here
(41:23):
but VJ, now is your opportunity because you got a
little bit of a free role as actually, thank you,
and I do I'm going to draw the curtain back
on the way that this show works. Every so often,
VJ will send a text on a Saturday morning as
we're preparing for the show and say, I have.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
A very opinion that requires my own segment.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Believe, do not interrupt, which is what he did, which
is what happened.
Speaker 2 (41:54):
And the big vanilla segment most recently was that he.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
Had to stop the tracks, to stop the press, to
alert the world that JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
Would be the rookie of the Year.
Speaker 3 (42:05):
Yep, Unfortunately, like we did just yesterday, as we're filling
in for my Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon,
pour one out for JJ because he is done for
the season, torn meniscus.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
So, VJ, with all that you've seen so far in.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
The preseason, I give you an opportunity to hop on
the right track for offensive rookie of the Year. I
have been steadfast, really since the middle of last college
football season that the rookie of the Year would be
Kayleb Williams. He would be the number one overall pick
and so on and so forth. Kayleb Williams right now
to me, the leader in the clubhouse by a country mile, to.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Be the rookie of the year. What does VJ say,
I'm going with a different position. Who would have thought
I'm going with a different position.
Speaker 6 (42:54):
I wanted to lean more towards Jayden Daniels because I
like what Jaden dany it was just doing. And I
will be the first to admit I didn't really know
what we were gonna get out of this kid, seriously,
because we've seen this in college where these college quarterbacks
get into these astronomical number offenses, right, and they put
up these stupid, ridiculous, crazy numbers that yeah, it looks
(43:18):
good in college, but when you get to the pro level,
you have to have a little bit.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
Of everything that you had in college.
Speaker 6 (43:24):
In order to do that, you gotta have a guy
out to the left of the right RW one right,
excise me, WR one.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
You need a receiver one. Gotta have a running game, right, gotta.
Speaker 6 (43:33):
Gotta have an offensive line, got to be able to
keep your quarterback up right. He needs three seconds to
be able to go through check one, check two release,
check one, check two, check three release.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
He's got to be able to do all of those things.
Speaker 6 (43:44):
But this year, coming off of a conversation that we
just had, I'm telling you guys right now, Maserati Marvin Harrison,
with Kyler Murray as his quarterback, he is going to
have every opportunity, every opportunity to make plays time and
time again, because he's got a quarterback who can extend plays,
(44:07):
who can make things happen. And he's not a lazy receiver.
He's not a one trick pony. He can run the
route tree. He's bigger than everybody, he's stronger than everybody.
He's got speed, he's got great hands. Once again, it's
just in the kids. Damn d n A.
Speaker 3 (44:25):
And now that we have this conversation going on, I'm
gonna lean there.
Speaker 6 (44:29):
I just something with Caleb is just still stopping me.
Last year you put on the game, there's four bad
tapes of last year that see, guys, even though he
puts up thirty five points or something, there's still bad
tape of Caleb. There's four games you could put on it.
You can go, yeah, this, this, this, this, this and
this he needs to work on and fixed. There's just
no bad tape on Maserati Mark there just isn't okay,
(44:51):
and he had to play with Kyle McCord. You're giving
Himkyler Murray. Kyler Murray is now fully healthy. We all know,
off of an ACL or offensive achilles, you may back
in a year, but you're not your same player, especially
at the quarterback position.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
Remember running back.
Speaker 6 (45:05):
He did play seven or eight games last year. Yeah, exactly,
but that's what I'm saying. No, No, he's back. But last
year when he got back, remember it had been a year.
You have to kind of go through another half season
to be yourself again. That's why I said maybe a
few weeks ago, watch Cooper Cup this year, ladies and gentlemen.
He is now fully fully back from the ACL, and
(45:25):
you're adding pookin the coup on the other side of him.
Now you can't double him. Now you got another stud
six two fifteen, two twenties style receiver that just broke
a record as far as yards opposite of Cooper Cup
and he's now back healthy. Watch how he comes back
and play. I honestly feel strongly about Maserati Marvin Harrison Junior.
(45:45):
I like anywhere between eighty five to one hundred catches.
I like anywhere from about twelve fifty to fifteen hundred
yards and give me ten touchdowns. That is damn sure
enough to be offensive Rookie of the Year. So JJ
is out, that's fine, he's injured. I understand the lore
of Caleb. I like what I'm seeing out of Jayden Dale's.
(46:06):
And let me tell you something else about the Commanders.
Dan Quin's their head coach correct, which means their defense
is going to be probably pretty good. So Jaden Daiels
is gonna have opportunities to stay in games and go
win games because his defense will keep him in games.
Marvin Harrison Junior Masarati, marv will have so many opportunities
to make plays on extended type plays because he has
Klin Murray's quarterback. So I am switching to Masarati Marvin
(46:29):
Harrison Junior as my Offensive Rookie of the Year for.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
The twenty twenty four NFL season.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
But what numbers? I know you just ran through it,
but drill it down. What numbers do you think that
Marvin Harrison Junior has to have? Just Okay, do we
agree that Caleb Williams is a favorite.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (46:45):
Absolutely, absolutely, He's the favorite. I was just absolutely trying
to establish the foundation. Yes, absolutely, develop into the conversation.
We agree he's the favorite. So he's got a lead
right now. So if everybody plays the same year, essentially
all the quarterbacks, and I don't think Drake May might
not get too much playing time Michael Pennick.
Speaker 2 (47:04):
So let's just say that. Let's just say Drake May
does get a ton of playing time, just for the
second conversation.
Speaker 3 (47:08):
If they all throw for the same amount of yards, touchdowns, interceptions,
and everybody has six rushing touchdowns or something like that,
Williams come about the quarterbacks, the three quarterbacks, right, Kayleb
Williams will win the award in part because he started
in front, right, Yep. So what numbers do you think
that Marvin Harrison Jr. Has to put up? Not infers
(47:31):
of rookie wide receivers, because I think the best rookie
wide receiver as we saw last year was Pookin Nakula
was a dift and second to c J. Stroud and
Rookie of the Year voting right this inspite CJ missing
a few games due to concussion. What numbers do you
expect because out of Marvin Harrison junior to the plant
Caleb Williams, because remember pookin the cou Is at the
(47:54):
single season rookie.
Speaker 2 (47:55):
Receiving yard record.
Speaker 6 (47:56):
Yep, okay, So my back drop to that would be this,
who won Offensive Rookie of the Year last year?
Speaker 2 (48:02):
C J strouts right? All right?
Speaker 5 (48:04):
C J.
Speaker 6 (48:05):
Shroud threw for forty one oh eight twenty three touchdowns,
but only the five interceptions at sixty four percent completion percentage.
The five interceptions, to me, is what beat out Pokin
Nakup is he did not turn the ball over.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
That was the thing.
Speaker 6 (48:20):
Caleb is going to throw double digit interceptions this year.
That's gonna be the difference. So for Marv, I'll give
I think he needs eighty eight catches thirteen hundred and
I would say nine touchdowns would out do Caleb. Who
(48:41):
if he doesn't crack four thousand yards, he's not winning
the award. So let's first start dating. He not cracked
four thousand yards, He's not. Do you expect him not
to crack four thousand yards?
Speaker 2 (48:49):
I don'ink that would be I don't. I don't. I
just I don't.
Speaker 6 (48:52):
That's just what I'm going with, brother, I don't all right,
but once again the turnovers. CJ Stroud only threw five
of them last year. Caleb was gonna throw double digit
interceptions this season.
Speaker 3 (49:02):
So you're expecting Caleb Williams to throw for less than
four thousand yards and hit double digit.
Speaker 6 (49:07):
Yes, absolutely, absolutely, absolutely, And Marv give me eighty eight
ninety catches, thirteen hundred yards, nine or ten touchdowns. That
should win the award for him, not unless now one
of the other quarterbacks. Because I think we agree Drake
May's out of this, right, we agree with that he's
not gonna I mean, both Knicks's out of this right. Well, no,
I wouldn't put bone necks out of it. I think
bo next starts week one.
Speaker 2 (49:26):
No, no, I'm sorry. If you start.
Speaker 3 (49:27):
If you start week one, to me, as a quarterback,
you're in the mix, like you have an opportunity. By
week eight it may be, of course, you may not
be in the mix anymore. Yeah, but week one you're
starting as a rookie. You're in the mix for so
you know that the MVP conversation, you're in the.
Speaker 6 (49:43):
Offensive rookies year argument sake, Let's just say by week eight,
week nine, Drake May's out and bow Knicks' is out,
so we're down to Jaden, We're down to Caleb, and
then for me would be Maserati Marv not less what
another rookie just explodes out of out of nowhere. That
was because we didn't see poop coming. I didn't, You
didn't know. Nobody did. And like you said, he finished
(50:03):
second a distant second. But that's because CJ team won
a division. CJ threw twenty three touchdown passes and only
five interceptions. He took care of the ball sixty five
sixty four percent completion percentage. Would love to see that
about sixty six sixty seven.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
That's fine.
Speaker 6 (50:18):
He's a rookie, he'll learn. I think he'll be much
better this year in that department. That's the only thing
in my opinion that beat out pookin the coop is
the fact that I believe the voters looking, go dude,
he only turned. He takes care of the football, and
he was missing Tank Dell at a point, and he
was missing Nico Collins at a point, So he was
missed with some of his bigger weapons and still continue
to produce. I just see Caleb Williams. I don't think
(50:42):
the ceiling is as high as a lot of other
people do. There are a lot of flaws in his
mechanics and his footwork that I can see. And I
understand the magic, and I understand the running around. I
get all of that, but you cannot sustain that through
an entire season as a rookie quarterback.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
You mus be able to read and throw from the pocket.
It is what CJ.
Speaker 6 (51:04):
Stroud was so great at last year. That's why I
give somebody else a chance to supplant him. The lore
in the name and the the the highlights is what's
got him in the clubhouse right now.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
Is the leader.
Speaker 6 (51:15):
But I just think by week eight, week nine, we're
gonna start to have a different conversation.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
I'll go with Masamati mark.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
I just dont I think it's fat. I think Kayla
Williams sols for four thousand yards. I mean, barring injury. Obviously,
as we talked about the idea, I think we're looking
at least four thousand yards, thirty touchdowns.
Speaker 6 (51:33):
Thirty touchdowns, I think, so wow, Okay, Okay, I don't
think that's I don't think he's the thirty. I mean
got thirty last year to two or three quarterbacks through thirty.
Speaker 3 (51:43):
Last year, I think Kayleb Williams has the opportunity to
go forty four thousand yards at like at least twenty
seven thirty touchdowns and at most thirteen interceptions.
Speaker 6 (51:55):
Now he's doing double digit interceptions. Trust me, he's throwing.
He's turning the ball over double dig Not only that,
Caleb's gonna fumble. I'll give Caleb. I'll give him three
or four lost fumbles this year. He's gonna fumble the football.
He's gonna turn the football over. If he has fifteen
sixteen turnovers. Guys, you can't give him Offensive Rookie of
the Year if you're turning the ball over fifteen sixteen times.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
CJ. Stroud did not do that last year. He took
care of the football.
Speaker 6 (52:20):
That is the reason, in my own personal opinion, why
he beat out Pokin Nakup for the Offensive Rookie of
the Years Because as quarterbacks are gonna get I'm gonna
get the you know, quarterbacks are gonna get the glory, right,
But at the same time, when you look at turning
over the football, that's quarterbacks. Stat man, you gotta take
care of the football. He took care of the football
last year. I just think I think Caleb's gonna turn
(52:41):
the football over what you expect rookies to do. And
it's four quarterbacks that threw over thirty last year. Jared
Golf at thirty, brought Purty at thirty one, Jordan Love
at thirty two, that Pross Gott at thirty six. So
you're telling me that Caleb's coming in and he's gonna
automatically jump in the top five as far as touchdown
passes concerned.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
I don't see that. Yeah, I think so, Okay, I
got you.
Speaker 6 (53:00):
Twenty seven that goes all the way down to Baker
Manfield and Patrick Mahones.
Speaker 3 (53:02):
Yeah, I see him throwing more than two of Baker,
Russell Wilson obviously, Derek Carr obviously.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Yeah, I think those are too.
Speaker 6 (53:09):
Is throwing thirty plus this year, I mean through twenty
season twenty what is that?
Speaker 2 (53:13):
Twenty six, twenty, I'm.
Speaker 6 (53:15):
Sorry, I can't see the number on my glass. Twenty nine,
twenty nine, he's throwing thirty. He's throwing thirty touchdown too.
Is throwing thirty touchdown passes through twenty nine last year.
I just don't think the thirty's happening with Caleb but listen,
I get the lore. I get why people have him
in the clubhouse. I'm not gonna disagree with any of that.
That's fine because this is now but week eight, halfway
through the season. You know how we do on our
(53:35):
show football season, we always go back and revisit things.
We always go back, and I keep a book Martin
Martin writes my picks down. They burned up in his
car last year, so he didn't get a chance to
throw it in my face what I got wrong?
Speaker 3 (53:47):
Quite literally burned up in my yah quite well. Literally
his car exploded on the one on one and he
told me, I grab my backpack, but my picks I
wrote down that you had was left in the car,
and that told him.
Speaker 6 (53:58):
I said, see, that's what you get for Hayton. Sports
guys right here, that just give Hayton. So he's like, no, no, no, no,
no no.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
As Beyonce, what accountability is love? Okay, accountability is love.
You're gonna come with one hundred and twenty different predictions.
I gotta write something down and be like, let's just
see how these land burned up.
Speaker 2 (54:18):
In your car? Huh did that really happen? Yeah? What happened?
I didn't hear about this.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
I was I'll never forget it was Ohio State was
playing Penn State.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
I was on the way in to do updates. I
had a full day.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
I was doing updates in the morning and then uh
uh my show from what a twelven Eastern after that,
and it was first down. Ohio State had the ball.
Speaker 2 (54:38):
It's driving down the one on one, what about your car?
Speaker 3 (54:41):
Finding my own business. I'm getting there. All of a sudden,
I hear clunk. Look back. Car starts shaking, like violently shaking,
and I'm like, oh, maybe this is the death rattle
that or death wobble. They talk about what the jeeps anyway,
but the car turns off. I'm going like sixty five
miles and I was sitting by the one A one
on one car just turns off, So like I'm already
(55:01):
like all right, this isn't great. So I coached over
to the side of the road and people are like
seeing that there's smoke billowing out of the front of
my car. So everybody's like, oh, let's get out of
this jerk, you know, before I get stuck in eight
hours of traffic because of I get over to the
shot of the road. I called Dan Bayer, Dan, I'm
having a little bit of car trouble. I'm not sure
if I'm gonna be able to make it for eleven
(55:21):
o'clock when I'm supposed to.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
Stop in and do these updates. As I'm on the
phone with.
Speaker 3 (55:25):
Him, unbelievable Ohio State starts to punt, and the front
of my car just catches like starts. I see flames
in the engine. I say, Dan, I gotta call you back.
My car's on fire so hot. And he's like, he's like,
oh yeah, you go go like im Like Dad, I'm
pretty sure.
Speaker 2 (55:43):
I got to call nine one one right now.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
I'm everyone's picks were in there and just turned to ash,
Well mine, Oh man, it's mine. I got pictures of it.
I I just saw the picture of it most recently. No,
his car literally was on fire. If I had been
in the front seat, it was on If I had
been locked in for real, for real, it'd have been.
Speaker 2 (56:05):
We don't have been singing that it burned up. Car
got didn't make it out alive. Y'all have seen me
on the front of a T shirt. How coming up next?
Remember I remember how I was talking about.
Speaker 3 (56:18):
However, so often VJ will have a very big opinion.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
Well, we got one of those coming up next.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
He knows how to fix what I call the dress
rehearsal for the NFL season. We'll get to that coming
up next. Martin White's VJ Husky Fox Sports Saturday. VJ
is sick of watching these dress rehearsals. Get to that
coming up just a minute hour and thanks to Rapid Radios,

Speaker 2 (57:18):

ti iraq dot com studios. You can get us on
Twitter thank you so much everybody wishing me a happy birthday.
Speaker 5 (57:30):
You know.
Speaker 3 (57:31):
And somebody called somebody text me today said they tried
to call in and you weren't answering the phone, so
good job by you.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
Way to go. They wanted to sing me happy birthday.
I didn't know.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
I didn't know that we had this this level of beef.
I didn't know that's what it was, y'all.
Speaker 12 (57:43):
See the love I started an I knew that that's
what they were trying to call in for. So I
didn't want to pick up.
Speaker 3 (57:48):
And I figured, so you guys would answer the phone
for every jackal who calls up.
Speaker 2 (57:51):
Here to be like, oh Domino's peach not wrong number.
Speaker 12 (57:53):
I will accept one call to wish to sing you
happy birthday. So if a call comes in within the
next few minutes, I'll see who it is and see
if they want to please.
Speaker 6 (58:02):
Do it, because I would love to hear somebody seeing
him happy birthday on live national radio. I would love
that it's your birthday, buddy, it is my BIRTHDAYA man
in the meanwhile.
Speaker 2 (58:12):
Sir man, hey, hey, watch your mouth.
Speaker 3 (58:17):
What's your grand fix? For the dress rehearsal that we
call preseason football.
Speaker 6 (58:23):
Now, I've always been a guy who prided like watching
a lot of preseason football because you might see a
guy in the third or fourth quarter that makes the
team right in, that pops up in week nine, Week ten,
week eleven because you have these injuries and you, hey, no,
I hate I remember that guy, right, I remember this.
But the Sega started this for me and I May
We talked by the refrigerator yesterday. I said, I want
(58:45):
to thank you for something, Steve, so you really opened
my eyes to preseason football. But he didn't bash it right.
What did he tell us? He was like, it's just
this is preseason football.
Speaker 2 (58:54):
Guys. Remember the back to back weeks. He's doing the updates.
Speaker 6 (58:56):
He's like, but this is just preseason football. It's like, honestly,
it's not great football.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
And it's not.
Speaker 6 (59:01):
But you have to sometimes mature and get rid of
the Hey, I'm a I'm a I'm all in and
what I do for a living, and I want to
watch as much as more than anybody. Sometimes as you
get older, you realize, VJ. You don't have to do that.
You know your stuff, You're good at what you do.
Great partner, great staff, great everybody here. You don't have
to do that. And I thank them for that, and
he was like, no, right, that's that's great.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
VJ.
Speaker 6 (59:23):
So I am really on the side of here's my
here's my proclamation, get rid of preseason. Get rid of preseason,
because this is what's starting to happen with preseason, these
joint practices that they're having. And I said this to
Martin when we were feeling in last night. A lot
of times these coaches they see what they need to
see in a lot of these joint practices. But what
(59:45):
they should start doing with the joint practices is have
them in the stadiums.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
Get television.
Speaker 13 (59:51):
Now.
Speaker 6 (59:51):
I know the television part won't happen, guys, because their
networks and owners aren't just they're not going to give
up the money. But I just think that if you
could get rid of preseason, we don't need it. There
are two games in front of us right now. They're
both six to nine. They're both six to nine in
the fourth quarter. All these guys on the field, some
of them are gonna be working for La Fitness in
(01:00:11):
two weeks. Okay, They're gonna be selling cars, are selling insures,
are back in their hometown, coaching high school football. That's
not the knock you. That's the fact of professional football. Okay,
you could get rid of preseason. Have the joint practices,
have them at stadiums Martin, and make it just free
to the fans, and you can run your joy practices
that way. Fans get to see how practice goes, and
(01:00:32):
they can go to trading campus see that type of
stuff too.
Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
But the preseason it's a waste.
Speaker 6 (01:00:38):
It's a total waste, and we're you're getting guys that
are getting lost for weeks at a time in the
preseason in a game that doesn't that matter.
Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
Look at the stands. The fans don't care about this stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Guys.
Speaker 6 (01:00:49):
It's time for the NFL. They already took one preseason
game away. They've already taken away OTA's as far as
certain hitting, and they want to take more. Otawa ot
eight days away in May and g just get rid
of preseason. Amp up the joint practices, Marvin. Have them
in the evening hours when it's cooler, so fans aren't
sitting in the heat. You can still out your training
(01:01:09):
camp days. But we have the joint practice. Have it
in the stadium, make it free, make it kind of
game situation, but the coaches can still kind of be
on the back of the side of the field and
thieves of that nature and get prepared for the NFL
season that way. There is no there's no reason why
you could play these games and you need them. These
joint practices are showing coaches what they need to say.
(01:01:30):
People may say, oh, well, what about the guy you're
talking about, VJ. You can play him in a joint
practice and still get the same thing out of him
that you're gonna get in the preseason game. I know
it's not gonna happen, guys, because the money is just
too astronomical, but that would be my fix.
Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
Get rid of it. Joint practices.
Speaker 6 (01:01:46):
Have them at night when it's cooler, give it and
let the fans come in for free.
Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
I'll respond to what VJ said in just the moments
spoiler alert, I do not agree. But first, let's go
to Joe in Baltimore real quick. Joe, are you the
one guy that wanted to call in and tell me
happy birthday?
Speaker 9 (01:02:03):
I am the one guy.
Speaker 13 (01:02:04):
That wanted to call in and wish you a happy
birthday nationally, because I don't think anybody else is going
to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
Well, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
Apparently the phone I won't allow it to happen. You
just sitting there watching the phone ring was his phones whatever.
Speaker 13 (01:02:17):
It seems like they didn't work hard enough then because
I had to pull every connection I had, I IU.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
To make sure this phone call came through.
Speaker 13 (01:02:25):
But I wanted the world to know that it is
your thirty fifth birthday and happy birthday. And I've known
you for god twenty five years, since you were significantly
smaller than you are now.
Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
Heyho shots, fun joke.
Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Come on, no, I'll just play.
Speaker 13 (01:02:43):
We can talk, we can talk height and width, but
we won't do that right now.
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
I appreciate it, buddy, Thanks for calling up, Thanks for listening, and.
Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
Appreciate you saying my Caleb Williams take was.
Speaker 13 (01:02:54):
Fire, emoji, absolutely fired, merchant and DJ is absolutely wrong,
and I hope you school them right now.
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
I will school VJ in just the moment.
Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
But first, let's check it over to Manzi Blanios for
what's trending in all these preseason games that VJA wants
to cancel?
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
You want to cancel?
Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
I know he sounds like Steve Hartman. Steve Hartman, and
I have had this discussion. He thinks, get rid of them.
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
So it's not just me, it's not just you.
Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
But I don't agree. Yeah no, but he feels the
same way. He feels the exact same way.
Speaker 6 (01:03:25):
The game is over. Let me let me just twice
before you why keep them one just as fast as
you can.
Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
What I just said. I think there's stuff you can't
get from scrimmages.
Speaker 5 (01:03:33):
I mean, like actually dressing up, going through a proper game,
even if it doesn't count with referees.
Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
Doing this, you can't replicate in a scrimmage they.
Speaker 2 (01:03:42):
Have, they have referees at these joint practices.
Speaker 5 (01:03:44):
They they run them like a game, don't right, But
if there's a play and you're a coach and you
want to stop it, you're gonna stop it, You're gonna
talk about it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:50):
You have to go through the actual motions of it.
Speaker 5 (01:03:53):
I think that's necessary and it's not replicated unless you
actually go through like a game like that.
Speaker 6 (01:03:57):
Not a disagreement, I say, okay, then add that part
to the joint practices, like, hey can't stop a play,
it's got it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
We're gonna do games, yde things.
Speaker 5 (01:04:04):
But I mean putting on your uniform like all I think,
especially for the new guys, like you want to get
in in like a football rhythm, and I just don't
think you can replicate that without preseason.
Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
That's all okay, you know, but.
Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
What about the big guys that don't play though, And
you're right.
Speaker 4 (01:04:19):
Yeah, and and then none of this matters and nobody
here is gonna get a spot like all of that.
Speaker 5 (01:04:22):
I get it, I get it, there's injuries. I just
still think that there are advantages. That's all I know.
Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
I know you. Steve Harvin feels the same way.
Speaker 5 (01:04:30):
I'm glad a veteran agrees with with him.
Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
Feel much better.
Speaker 4 (01:04:35):
Yeah, I know if.
Speaker 2 (01:04:36):
He was, he would be the rest of y'all. Yeah,
I got a forty year old do forty year career
gause that agrees with A. Yeah. Think I'm worried about
Martin's friends telling him online ready to school me.
Speaker 6 (01:04:48):
I mean that, Brian, his name is Joe, Joe, Yeah, Joe,
oh Joe Yeah, buddy, Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
I love it. You're agreeing with god named Steve que Hey.
I'll take Steve over Joe.
Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
Steve isy on TV.
Speaker 5 (01:05:03):
But see if we can see it on TV right now,
on TV right now I am watching the Steelers and
the Bills. Buffalo is on top nine to three, less
than six minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Justin
Fields for Pittsburgh ten of thirteen eighty eight yards. He
also has thirty five rushing yards. Russell Wilson, he is
eight of ten for forty seven yards.
Speaker 4 (01:05:25):
Right now Fields is in the game.
Speaker 5 (01:05:26):
Steelers have the ball again less than six minutes to go,
so we'll see how this one ends. The Titans have
taken the lead over the Seahawks thirteen to twelve halfway
through the fourth quarter. Colts are beating the Cardinals twenty
one to thirteen, eight minutes to go in that one.
The Dolphins are beating the Commanders thirteen to six early
in the fourth. The Jets have extended their lead over
the Panthers twelve six halfway through the fourth quarter. The
(01:05:49):
Rams are now back on top of the Chargers. This
is in LA thirteen to nine, very early in the
fourth quarter. Stepson Bennett, remember that name, he's a quarterback
for the Rams.
Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
One hundred and sixty six yards in the air. Why
your sestion? Yeah. The Jags are beating the Buccaneers thirteen
to seven. Three minutes to go in the third quarter.
Speaker 5 (01:06:07):
Moving on to Major League Baseball, the Dodgers are still
losing to the Cardinals. Shoho Tony did his thirtieth homer
of the season, but Saint Louis is on top five
to two. Bottom of the eighth inning. The Padres have
extended their leader for the Rockies for zero. Bottom of
the fourth William Contreras gave the Brews the lead with
the solo shot.
Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
They're holding on to it. They're beating the Guardians two
to one.
Speaker 5 (01:06:26):
Top of the ninth inning in Milwaukee, Astros have extended
their lead of the White Sox six one a's with
the two zero lead or the Giants as they start
the ninth inning. In Oakland, the Twins of taking the
lead over the Rangers five to two. Bottom of the
ninth inning, Red Sox and Orioles still scoreless in Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
They're about to start the sixth inning.
Speaker 5 (01:06:45):
Orioles half a game behind the Yankees, who got shut
out today by the Tigers four zero for the top
spot in the Al East, so the Oils probably trying
to get this one. And the Phillies defeated the Nationals
five to one back to you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
Thanks Mon Smart, j Martin Wiss and Vigos He coming
to your life from the Tiraq dot com studios.
Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
The reason why you have to have.
Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
Preseason games is because I get joint practices. That's all
well and cute, but until you are out there and
like we said yesterday, chu be's live, it's time to hit.
And you got guys out there really rolling out there
and getting hit. It's not happening like you got like
the You do not want week one to be the
(01:07:30):
first time that your starters are not being like you know,
over like watched over by the head coach and so on.
Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Like yesterday, I watched a.
Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
Clip from Packers Broncos joint practice where Broncos edge Nick
Benito beat whoever was whatever tackle was on the side
and Jordan Love on the arm.
Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
Right. Coaches are furious, They're like, oh my god, what
you doing? How can you do that? What are you doing?
What you're talking about?
Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
No, what he's doing is playing football, right, like you
need him to get ready as well. He's just not
gonna be running past quarterbacks as the season progresses, right,
He's gonna be hitting them trying to force fumbles. Us
on and so forth. You can't do that to drump
practice dude in the game. So the other thing is
you're only getting starters' actions most of the time in
(01:08:17):
those joint practices, like you need to have obviously your
backups and then those guys backups. Who's gonna be your
swing tackle, who's gonna be the second quarterback, who's gonna
be the third quarterback. Chargers are figuring that out right
now between Max Duggan and Easton Stick. You need to
know who's gonna be the backup. You'd like to see
those guys get live game reps. Right now we're seeing
(01:08:38):
Stetson Bennet get live game reps, and unfortunately for Stetson,
it looks like it may be the last we see
if Stetson Bennic getting live game reps. But you don't
see that in practice. You need to see it in
an actual game. And not only vij I don't mean
to hijack the higher thing, but you know, only happens
if we cancel preseason. We don't get to see what
Brian Dayball had to say about Daniel Jones. We don't
(01:09:02):
get to hear this after watching Daniel Jones' performance we.
Speaker 2 (01:09:06):
Had to play action pass call a little bit of time.
You moved to the left, made a poor decision, backed up.
What should he have done? There?
Speaker 9 (01:09:13):
Is that get the rid of the ball, quicker.
Speaker 8 (01:09:16):
I go back and I'll go back and look at it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
We'll evaluate it. That's what these games are for.
Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
You know what, that's the voice of That's the voice
of a guy who wishes they had taken a quarterback
they tried. That will evaluate. This is what these games
are for. So now, I mean not that trying to day.
Both needed this moment to know that Daniel.
Speaker 2 (01:09:36):
Jones I was gonna go thank you. But just in
case you.
Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
Were curious after the offseason, he's still as bad.
Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
As he was prior.
Speaker 6 (01:09:45):
All Right, a few things this whole, like quick QB's.
QB's aren't allowed to get hit guys, they're not QB.
Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
The league has made it this way. Jones got hit
a few times.
Speaker 6 (01:09:54):
I get you can't touch a QB. But here's also
my thing too with the QB thing. Who do you
who do we want on the field when it comes
to the NFL. We want the stars on the field.
I want the stars against the stars on the field.
If you took out touching a QB through preseason or
through a joint practices or whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
Guys, it's not going to hurt the game. It's just
not okay.
Speaker 6 (01:10:18):
You can't hit him in the joint practice anyway. Oh yeah, yeah,
I really want to put my starter out there and
get mauled by a guy who's undrafted and trying and
trying to make the team. And he's not gonna lay,
he's not gonna you know, lighten up. But which is fine.
It's football, I get it. But it's also fraternity, guys.
(01:10:38):
The NFL is a fraternity, and the last thing you
want to see is anybody get really creamed, especially a
quarterback and knocked out for the season in a game
or situation that does not matter.
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
That's number one. Number two.
Speaker 6 (01:10:51):
A lot of the people on your roster, you know
what they can do. Yes, you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
You gotta get a look at Manti said, you gotta
get a look at the third and the four string guys.
Speaker 6 (01:11:00):
Guys, you can do that in a joint practice type setting.
You can sub guys in and out. You can mix up.
Speaker 14 (01:11:06):
When you're in that joint practice, your starters of the
ones getting the red, no your starters can't get the reps,
and then once you think you've seen enough, you get
them out and you get your other guys, and it's
the same as a preseason game.
Speaker 6 (01:11:18):
But the preseason games they're just they're almost worthless, especially
when you're coming off of especially when you're coming off
of a joint practice, because the same team for the
previous three days.
Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
So you think that Russell Wilson would he probably took
fifteen snaps today total what Manchester was four for five.
I know we got sacked three times, so let's just
say he took seven eight more snaps, so as the
Russell Wilson took fifteen times, So you think that's all he's.
Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
Taking the practice? No, but also too you know what
Russell Wilson is and you didn't need all right, No
one needed to see Russell Wilson on the field today
to know what he is.
Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
Righting to see the Pittsburgh Steelers do because they're trying
to figure out who to start a quarterback. They got
a problem of evaluating. Do you think Patrick Mahomes did?
I mean us like, guys, I'm sorry, silly me. I
think it's football. You should do your job. You should
play in the preseason. Maybe don't play guys all the
time in the preseason. Oh what if this undrafted rookie
defensive lineman.
Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
How about this block him? Like like, there's a very
simple I get, there's a very simple way to do
all that. Block them, block them. And if you lose
a guy.
Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
To a ACL after a cut or something like that,
guess what, whether you lose him in preseason week one
two or three or week one two or three, if
it's that big of an important player, you are going
to be screwed regards. Yeah, I'm good on preseason and
we can agree to disagree.
Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
It's cool.
Speaker 6 (01:12:34):
I'm not gonna argue with you too much. It's your
birthday'mna let you had us one to day. But I
can I can do, I can do without preseason. There's
already think about it. The league is thinking about trust me,
they've taken a week away, they've taken a week off
of preseason, and they're gonna take another week.
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
And took a week off of preseason. It's not add
out a week less.
Speaker 6 (01:12:51):
It's now just an extra and another game is coming
off the minute they start adding on. If you think
we're just sitting at seventeen games in the NFL. You
guys are sally mistaken. They want to go to eighteen.
The bargain's gonna be okay, go to eighteen, take off
another preseason game. They're gonna take off another preseason game.
And it's only gonna be two. It used to be four.
(01:13:11):
It's going in that direction, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
And the joint practices are starting to expand, be more days.
Speaker 6 (01:13:17):
I remember joint predjudce used to be a day. Now
these teams are playing against each other for two and
three straight days. That's just you know, I could do
without it. That would be my fixed four. I know
it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (01:13:26):
Listeners out there in the world and my guys said, right,
this is not gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
I know it. Guys.
Speaker 6 (01:13:31):
The money they still sell tickets, they still sell concessions.
The money's too big for them to just let The
owners aren't gonna ever agree to that. I just think
it would probably be better for the product of the game.
Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
What it literally was my opinion.
Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
This literally would not be better for the product of the game,
because then Week one would look like the preseason.
Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
All these teams that don't take the preseason. Seriously, Like,
look the.
Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
Rams right now, start the steats at better for the
second game in a row. Head coaches and coaching the team,
I bet they start the year have a slow starts.
Look at the teams that you look at the teams
that take off at the start of the year, like
Kansas City last year, even though they lost to the
Lions on the last second play. Our hell the Lions
last year. Like when you play your starters in preseason,
you start off at a hot eighty of the league,
(01:14:16):
eighty percent of the league takes four weeks.
Speaker 6 (01:14:18):
Always say the way I love to judge the NFL
season in quarters, the first four weeks, the next four weeks,
the next four weeks, the next four weeks, in the
next four weeks, with the extra game to make seventeen
the first four weeks. I'm not judging anybody because everybody.
Eighty percent of the league takes off slow. Yeah, eighty
percent of the league takes off.
Speaker 3 (01:14:34):
But I'll tell you this, how about that if the
Indianapolis Colts had won one of their first four games
instead of lost it, then they would have been in
the postseason.
Speaker 6 (01:14:40):
And we had years are teams are going undefeated in
the preseason and start off like one in eight in
the regular season.
Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
Sure, wait, so you win four oh sixteen, But they
were a bad team. I'm talking about kings of the preseason.
What did Kansas City do last year? Patrick Mahomes started
every preseason game. Patrick Jefson, I don't remember because it's meaningless. Well, no,
they won the Super Bowl. They won the Super Bowl.
Well I know, but that doesn't matter. Okay, but you
(01:15:07):
just you know that the preseason results don't matter.
Speaker 3 (01:15:10):
But it absolutely I'm not saying the preseason results. The
games themselves, the final score does not matter. But I
think the idea don't remember their record that getting out
there in the preseason for your starters is nothing but
a good thing, is nothing but preparing for Week one win.
The games actually matter because you have teams that just
trick off week one. In fact, the Rams and the
(01:15:30):
Bills played Week one a couple of years ago, and
I believe the Rams lost and it ended up being
what kept them in the wildcard. Ended up being what
kept them in the wild card because Week one losses
count just as much as Week seventeen losses.
Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
But coming up next, Ian Roddy, are you prepared for this.
Speaker 8 (01:15:46):
I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
Are you ready for are you doing? I didn't see
Are you doing?
Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
Who you got?
Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
I'm telling who you got. We're keeping it going. Are
you sure? Okay? You sure?
Speaker 9 (01:15:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:15:55):
Yeah? Kicking pat right. We had to bring it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
We will see what you got who you got with
our new producer, Ian Roddy.
Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
That'll be up next. Martin wis Vida Husky Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
Martin Vja comes to you live from the Tirereck dot
Com studios on a Fox Sports Football Saturday. Let's go
ahead and get it fired up in your first time,
your your virgin voyage. You better damn it, bring it.
Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
Let's go.
Speaker 9 (01:16:20):
It's not rocket side. We just want to know.
Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
Just ask the questions. Who you got? All right?
Speaker 8 (01:16:29):
My maiden voyage on who you got?
Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
All right? So I actually came with two guys today.
Speaker 8 (01:16:35):
I really I don't know.
Speaker 12 (01:16:37):
I have no point of reference here, so I don't
know how quickly you guys are going to get these,
but I'm hoping I came with some good ones.
Speaker 8 (01:16:45):
We got two guys here.
Speaker 12 (01:16:46):
We'll start with the first one, nice obscure fact will
start with he has five sisters and one brother, and the.
Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
Yeah, shut up.
Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
So normally Batt would do like three and then we'd
guess and then go.
Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
Yeah, so three three clues to start?
Speaker 8 (01:17:05):
Okay, Well, this first guy, I have four total clues
for him.
Speaker 12 (01:17:09):
Give it ard, So number two we'll go uh. He
played for the Louisiana Bootleggers fifteen and under seven on
seventeen growing up.
Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
What the okay? Five sisters, one brother? They played for
the Lakers? Okay, okay. Next.
Speaker 12 (01:17:29):
He was committed to Mississippi State for his entire recruiting
process out of high school, but flipped on signing day
to the school he would ultimately attend.
Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
Got it, Bija, is it cam Newton?
Speaker 8 (01:17:43):
It is not? Ah, I could guess that, Martin.
Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
You have a guess one brother. My first guess is
old up Beckford Junior. But I don't think he had
them any civilis No.
Speaker 8 (01:17:54):
That wasn't even better guess though.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
Because he's actually from New Orleans.
Speaker 8 (01:17:59):
I have one more, one more hint for you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
Here.
Speaker 12 (01:18:02):
He was only the second player in his college's history
with back to back one thousand yard seasons.
Speaker 15 (01:18:09):
Russia to receiving receiving good question, oh, receiving receiving Yes,
back to back, only the second player in this school's
history with back to back thousand yard receiving. Yeah, I
got nothing, Jarvis Landry, No, but another good guess you're
with the l s U.
Speaker 8 (01:18:26):
You're red hot.
Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
Yeah, Justin Jefferson, he's gonna he's just gonna name L
s U players from this point.
Speaker 8 (01:18:34):
It would it would work.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
Back to back thousand yard seasons. Flipped on Marshall the
l s U.
Speaker 3 (01:18:44):
No, now, back to back thousand yard seasons from L
s U.
Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
That's not Justin Jefferson, Jarvis said Jarvis.
Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
So it's got to be before then, ye, before them.
It's whoever that held Jordan Jefferson was on the ball to.
Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
I can't think of the dang. Is it the guy
that caught that? Hell? Mary gets Kentucky? And was it
Debri Interessing?
Speaker 8 (01:19:08):
No, Michael Clayton, No, Josh Free Come on, guys, what
do you mean?
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Come on, we're just named We've gained ten, We've named
ten L s U received.
Speaker 5 (01:19:18):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
No, not give up, man, give up back to back
thousand yards seasons.
Speaker 6 (01:19:25):
He's clues don't work. So I'm not worried about the clues.
I'm just trying to think about LSU receivers. Now give
us a year or something. Give us a time. Can
you give us an NFL team or a year he
was drafted it or rown he was drafted in or something.
Speaker 8 (01:19:38):
It's gonna give it away.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
If we give you the NFL team, it'll give it away.
Don't you guys want to get to more than one? Here?
Maybe we should just revealed did you did you hear
these clues?
Speaker 16 (01:19:47):
I've been I have no idea. I'm tascrooving at this time.
I'm sorry, Molik neighbors. I couldn't give you the draft
here or the TV.
Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
You know what's really bad? As I have a.
Speaker 3 (01:20:02):
Yeah, yeah, giants, I still wouldn't have got it.
Speaker 12 (01:20:05):
All right, we can squeeze in the last one here.
We'll see, all right, six straight one thousand yard receiving seasons,
he's been elected to six Pro Bowls, and he's played
for six NFL teams.
Speaker 8 (01:20:15):
So six is a key number for this guy.
Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
Got it? Brandon Marshall?
Speaker 8 (01:20:19):
That is correct. I was an impressive one.
Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
Just off the let's go six flo There you go.
That's College DJ. The winner of this.
Speaker 3 (01:20:31):
Coming up next, who will be the winners of the
NFL End season Awards. We'll tell you you're.
Speaker 1 (01:20:40):

Speaker 3 (01:20:43):

Listen, A, I'll be pulling on me. I point to
the glass man play that every time. Bro, I have
to get Ms Mary Mack and Ricky who put it together. Okay,
that's hard right there. I feel I almost feel like spitting.
Speaker 2 (01:21:18):
Balls right now, but I can't. I can't rack.
Speaker 6 (01:21:20):
I love pressure, but yeah, I know, I know exactly
what it is. No, no, this is this is you
see my face.
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
So when the first time I ever heard this song,
I was I was still working in a different radio life,
and I said, but if I ever get a show,
that's gonna be the intro.
Speaker 6 (01:21:36):
Really yeah, Okay, so that was where it all kind
of starts. Mine would be the instrumental for what we do.
Freeway Beans jay Z, Well, we have a I have
a that would be mine.
Speaker 3 (01:21:47):
What's the word I'm looking for a surprise? I suppose
for you on my birthday? Us for me. Yeah, because
all the other shows they do like an end ending song,
like like on the Eye Cup when you hear the
end of the Eye Couple, they play the jay Z
song and the winter is whole speech burst off like,
thank my connect that song.
Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
I can't think of the rock boys. So we have
one as well. But yeah, exactly, that's how they end
the Cup every So you had a little rhythm, right
You had a little rhythm right there. Brother, you had
a little rhythm right there. We have one.
Speaker 3 (01:22:22):
We have one as well. It is I picked it specifically,
I said, VJ. Will Liker, you're not gonna tell me
what it. Don't tell me. I'm gonna be surprised at
the end of the show.
Speaker 2 (01:22:30):
Okay, cool. Oh got him excited.
Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
Now. I was like, if we're gonna do this the beginning,
we gotta do VJ something on the back end. Let's
make sure we get that. But now we've already had
the discussion of Rookie of the Year. Okay, I am
camp Caleb. VJ says, uh is it Jade and Daniels.
Speaker 2 (01:22:47):
Or Maserati MA. But I'm going with Maserati MA. That's
what I'm going with. So let's go ahead and uh,
you know, let's get it out there.
Speaker 3 (01:22:56):
Vj A right, put it out there on Wax as
the Rappers say, the rest of your preseason predictions and MVP.
Let's let's start off with the NFC and AFC winners
and then your MVP.
Speaker 6 (01:23:09):
I don't have my oh, the AFC winners, the chiefs,
the chiefs of my AFC winners. I believe we could
see a repeat in the Super Bowl. Hard to find
a lot of people arguing with you. I can see
a repeat in the Super Bowl. The Niners are just
so loaded guys, and they're good. The liners are good.
They didn't lose anybody, right, they don't lose anybody. They
have the best left tackle in football. Check a top
top a top three tight end, check the top running
(01:23:32):
back in football. Check the top utility. I would say utility.
I think Tyreek is the most dangerous weapon as a receiver,
but the top utility receiver in the NFL is who
wants something d ball because of everything he does, Shannon Hand,
you know that taste is in his mouth two times
now going to in the Super Bowl. His dad's got
two rings, he's got two Super Bowl losses. I think
(01:23:52):
the defense, the defense is stacked. I think this division
is tougher than people want to give it credit for.
Not sure what Seattle is, but I think I like
the Rams. I like the Rams at ten to eleven
wins this year. And I'm just fifty to fifty on
what the Cardinals can be. But if Kyler has taken
that step that we expect quarterbacks to take in year three,
year four, with Maserati, Marvin, the other weapons they have
(01:24:14):
on a team, I love what they're doing there. But
I could see I already have the Chiefs coming out
of the AFC, and I'll go ahead and I'll throw
the Niners. I would love to throw Philly in there,
but something just tells me, and I defended them last year.
I defend him, sure, and I defended him last year.
But I think you guys might be right on Sirianni.
(01:24:34):
I defended him last year, and I think he can
get himself together. But maybe he's just maybe he's just
not the adult in the room. Like Martin says, you
gotta be an adult in the room. So give me
the chief somebody's gotta do it. Yeah, give me the
Chiefs and the Niners in a Super Bowl rematch until
somebody shows me, until somebody shows me different. Coach of
the Year this year, it's gonna be one, mister Dan Campbell.
(01:24:56):
I think the Lions are on track to have a
rem with the Niners in the NFC Championship Game. Love
their weapons. Jamier Gibbs is gonna be better this year.
Golf Martin loves him as an MVP outside shot. I'll
let him describe the whole betting type thing to your reason,
(01:25:16):
which made a lot of sense, but also too many.
Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
They got, They got Williams, that.
Speaker 6 (01:25:20):
Receiver, that's that's at full go now, the Spieza from Alabama,
Saint Brown one of the top five receivers in the NFL.
That defense, Hutchison coming off the end Branch, the the
defensive kid, the kid out of Brian Branch, the hard
hit and do everything safety from Alabama. I just think
that this team is really on the cusp of twelve
(01:25:40):
to thirteen wins this year. And you would have to
give Dan Campbell the award this year. Shanahan you expect
him to win, right, you expect Andy Reid to do something.
Whatether the coach you can really look at that can
jump up there even la floor with the with the
with the with the Packers. If they go twelve, if
they get twelve, one was what he wants eleven last year.
I don't think one win makes you coach of the Year.
(01:26:02):
I like Dan Campbell as my coach of the year.
Comeback Player of the Year is one. Jalen Phillips, defensive
end rushing from the Miami Dolphins, blown his achilles black
Friday last year, was bawling out of control and by
all accounts by all his coaches, even guys that coached
them at the U and coached them at Westwood for
UCLA said that guy right there at that point was
(01:26:24):
at the best peak of his football life.
Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
And the blow is achilles.
Speaker 6 (01:26:28):
And he's already at full speed, cut down the body fat,
put on more muscle, and already full go at practices
from his achilles tear just in November. I like him
at about twelve and a half to thirteen sacks this
year and he will just be a stud for the
Dolphins coming off the end. My MVP It's a coin
flip for me because I think Mahomes had a good year,
(01:26:52):
not super great year last year that chiefs defense and SPACs.
What he does with them and Chris Jones in the
middle really did help win a lot. Again, is that
they probably would have lost a few years ago in
their defense. Wasn't that good? But once again, seeing what
Patrick Mahomes has done, seeing what Patrick Mahomes has on
the table in front of him to be the first
NFL franchise ever in the Super Bowl era to win
(01:27:13):
three straight Super Bowls. This is a guy that knows
what's on the table and he's ready to He sees
the food, he likes what's being served, and he's ready
to eat.
Speaker 2 (01:27:23):
A close second, though, would be my man. Ooh, so,
y'all could call me a homer all you want to,
But he's only gonna get better, continue to get better
in this system.
Speaker 6 (01:27:36):
We know what he has with Jalen, We know what
he has with Wade, We knows what he has.
Speaker 3 (01:27:40):
With Tyree a chain missed six games last year. He's
back in the phone.
Speaker 6 (01:27:44):
This kid Smith, this kid that they got out of Tennessee,
the running back to Spech there out of Tennessee. You
just add another speed guy to this offense, the tight
end that they brought in John neu Smith. This is
gonna be a big interestral part to what they want
to do. They didn't have a tight end to really
run more scene routes and keep doubles off of their
speechter receivers out there. I think he can finish second
(01:28:07):
defensive Player of the Year. Honestly think Michael Parsons, with
the contracting stuff that's up in the air for him
right now, I think this is the year he goes
ballistic for the Dallas Cowboys. I think Miles Garrett can
be a close second. I wanted to give it to TJ.
Watt again, but that injury last year I think is
(01:28:28):
gonna slow him and gonna keep him from kind of
being full go this year as he was last year.
I like Michael Parsons though, to cash in as defensive
player of the Year, as to tell Jerry A, now
pay me before you pay this damn receiver. I just
won Defensive Player of the year. Offensive Rookie of the
Year I've already said would be Maserati Marv Defensive.
Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
Rookie of the Year.
Speaker 6 (01:28:52):
I think could be Dallas Turner from the Minnesota Vikings.
This is another guy from the Nick Saban defensive tree
of players that come in the league and just shop
up and down the field and do whatever they want
to do, and dare you to damn do something about it.
And he is going to be playing for Flores who
has the number one blitz rate success rate in the
(01:29:13):
NFL over the last twenty four months, the last two years.
Speaker 2 (01:29:16):
It's the Minnesota Vigas.
Speaker 6 (01:29:18):
He wasn't a great head coach, but that man could
coordinate a defense and you're giving him just more weapons
like that to turn lose.
Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
I like him to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Do yeah, you have the list right there?
Speaker 3 (01:29:29):
Oh no, this is just no, no, no, I didn't
write this down. This is I wrote it down in
another notebook. Was trying to make sure I had a
list of all of them in order. I think your
your NFC representatives will be.
Speaker 2 (01:29:42):
The Detroit lie. They get to the Super Bowl, they
get to the Super go for it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:46):
Unfortunately, they lose the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
Chiefs get three in a row to you, yes, okay,
to three in a row.
Speaker 3 (01:29:53):
Three Pete Taylor Swift, Travis Kelsey, all hugs about in
Kansas City. Oh God, don't worry, it's coming right back,
all right, coming all right back, Oh God. The MVP
of this year's NFL season will be Lions quarterback Jared Golf.
As you said a minute ago, to outline the story,
you have to finish. Basically, if you look at the
(01:30:14):
last ten MVP winners, all of them finished first or
second in their conference, all of them won their division,
all of them had home playoff games, all of them
won at least twelve games. The Lions are on track
to do all of that in my opinion when you
look at the NFC, which is why I will give
Jared Goff the MVP. Patrick Mahomes I think, will come
in second again as he has many times throughout his career.
(01:30:37):
Those AFC quarterbacks will eat up one another comeback Player
of the Year Joseph Lee Burrow Cincinnati Bengalsh. He will
come back because the Bengals will make the playoffs this
year and they will compete. He will throw for more
than four thy three hundred yards and be in that
thirty touchdown club.
Speaker 2 (01:30:55):
Yeah, I don't mind that offensive rookie of the year
will be Caleb Williams.
Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
He will be bawling and by the end of this
it's going to be scary, but he's going to be
deemed the best quarterback in the NFC North.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
Mind you, that's a division in.
Speaker 3 (01:31:09):
Which you have two guys who have an average annual value
salary of over fifty five million or over fifty three
million dollars.
Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
Defensive Rookie of the Year, I'll go with I'll go
with Jared Verse. I'll go with Jared Bad. I like him,
I like Ben A. The pass rusher comes right in
and is active.
Speaker 3 (01:31:27):
I think you're looking at if you're looking at cornerbacks
for this, our linebackers for this, our defensive backs in general,
they're gonna have to put up such crazy numbers. When
if Jared Verse or Dallas turning for that number they
get ten sacks, lock it up?
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
What am I missing? Coach of the Year will be
say it. You want to go there, go there? I
went there, and nowhere, come on, man to go to
the lines, baby Campbell.
Speaker 3 (01:31:50):
See the thing about in a Super Bowl, But the
thing about the coach of the year, though, the coach
of the year is almost always a guy who overachieved
for what expectations were.
Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
So, like the Lions were in the NFC Championship Game
last year, it's not a long stretch to say they'll
be in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
My coach of the Year is coming from the NFC, though.
Speaker 3 (01:32:10):
Jonathan Gannon of the Arizona Cardinals an, they will. I
think they will vastly overperform with their expectations.
Speaker 2 (01:32:18):
On Arizona. You have been for about a month now.
Your wildcard team. Wildcard team for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:32:22):
And if they make the wildcard, Johnathangannon will be market down.
If they have the season, I think he will be
in the top two for odds for Coach of the year.
How about this bonus? First coach fired, Dennis Allen, New
Orleans Saints. What else am I missing here? I want
to go there.
Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
First coach, first coach fired, FoST coach.
Speaker 3 (01:32:42):
Oh nah, Matt Eber, He's the first coach that's gonna
get fired.
Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
They will not fire what's your name's head coach in
the middle of the year.
Speaker 6 (01:32:53):
Yeah, they will, Williams, they will. They're going to listen.
They don't if they don't win eight games, guys, he's fired.
If they don't have to the Bears don't win eight games,
Matt is fired.
Speaker 3 (01:33:02):
I don't know the Bears will win more than they
They won seven games with Tyson Bagent and Justin Fields
as the start game and.
Speaker 6 (01:33:11):
Then they go seven to ten. Is Matt Ebrafluce their
head coach in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 12 (01:33:15):
No, because of the fact that you're so invested in
Caleb Williams. You can't just treat him as a sunk costs.
You need to cut the babs.
Speaker 6 (01:33:21):
What do they have to go for him to save
his job this year? What does Matt Eberflus have to
win for him to be the coach in twenty twenty five?
Speaker 2 (01:33:31):
Nine games not getting it done? Guys, I think.
Speaker 8 (01:33:34):
Nine games might get it done. I think ten because
Caleb is a rookie. Win nine games with a rookie.
Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
They're nine and seven in a lot for the wild
card in Week seventeen. Everybody's safe, Okay, everybody?
Speaker 2 (01:33:44):
I think ten, and I think even nine and then
the running and.
Speaker 6 (01:33:48):
Say they lose in Week eighteen, right and don't make
the playoffs, they will just be the chatter that starts.
Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Okay, Yeah, they.
Speaker 6 (01:33:56):
Got nine wins, but that was only two more than
what they got two years ago, and you got this
generational guy.
Speaker 2 (01:34:03):
Hey, Kayla, would they will.
Speaker 6 (01:34:04):
Start to be a way they were fixed with the
front office, will fix their brain to say, yeah, you
know what, let's get Caleb. But guy, now we saw
what we got nine wins, Matt, you know, let's get.
Speaker 2 (01:34:17):
Him on offensive line they got. Let's get him a
young wonder kid. Let's get it. You know what I mean, I.
Speaker 6 (01:34:21):
Get I just think this is his last year coaching.
I'll put it on him to be the first one fire.
Also Vjays Just for fun, all right. Who's the worst
team in the NFL this year? Tennessee Titans, Tennessean. They
don't have a quarterback. Hard to argue they don't have
a quarterback. Derek Henry Guard, new head coach, no quarterback.
I'm out of Elak, the freak. I pumped form when
(01:34:42):
he came out of Liberty. I want him to be good.
I've watched the tape. The guy just doesn't have it.
Will Levis, the guy just doesn't have it. DeAndre Hopkins
is their old guy receiving. They know this team is
gonna be terrible. It's either in them, but the.
Speaker 3 (01:34:54):
Patriots that you're looking either some combination of the Patriots,
the Titans, the Panthers.
Speaker 2 (01:35:01):
Yeah, come to Panthers. They need another year to get
some people in. The Giants.
Speaker 6 (01:35:04):
Really I like their defense though, that's the thing. Their
defense will keep them in games.
Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
If Danny dine counterpoint is Danny dimes to two pick
six is today I saw.
Speaker 6 (01:35:12):
But if he's the Heathens can like make tackles on
a pick six. If he's healthy, seven eight wins for
the Giants. If he can play, they'll win seven eight games.
So that won't make them worse. I think the Titans
can be two and fifteen. They're they're in the quarterback
market next year. The Titans drafted the top five. Next year, guys,
they're taking a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:35:32):
I'll tell you this too. I'm looking at the odds,
the odds to be the worst see in the NFL. Panthers, Broncos, Patriots, Giants,
Titans Commanders. I don't think there's any chance that Denver
Broncos won.
Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
I was about to say I saw that the other day.
I was shocked.
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
I was They're they're like number two right the second
the second Yeah, I saw.
Speaker 6 (01:35:48):
That the other day. What does Vegas know that. I
don't because I think they're eight win seven. I like
bo Knicks and I think he matches with Sean Payton,
so I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:35:59):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
What do the Vegas know that we don't. Well, apparently
in Atlanta they know something we don't.
Speaker 2 (01:36:07):
We'll get into that.
Speaker 3 (01:36:08):

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
Let you figure out who's who. Can I read one
real fast? Please? Because this whole brother your name on
the show too. You can do whatever the hell.
Speaker 6 (01:37:19):
Is this because this Molik neighbors thing and this really
drew some attention. So Villain two suite at Villain too
sweet listener to the show listens all the time. Man,
we love you, we appreciate you, brother. So it's not
beef for nothing. But Marv is a fraud. I'm just
gonna stop reading right there, and then the rest as
neighbors was is and will be the better receiver. Guys,
(01:37:39):
let me tell you something. Let me explain how a
football goes.
Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Okay, I'm gonna learn me something real quick.
Speaker 6 (01:37:48):
There's not a GM, a coach, an owner, a scout,
a position guy on the college level or the NFL
level who does this stuff, Like literally for a living.
They don't have a part time job. They don't sell
cars on the weekend. They don't work at T Mobile
(01:38:10):
on Wednesday afternoons to cover for somebody.
Speaker 2 (01:38:12):
They don't work at the local gym. They do football.
It's their life. It's right.
Speaker 6 (01:38:17):
They don't see their kids. It's why they don't see
their wives and girlfriends. That would disagree with that more
then Marv is a fraud that if you don't like
the guy, or you're not Ohio State, dude, I'm Michigan
all day long, and this is a buck guy. I'm
saying this about because I put that aside and I
put the football tape on. There's a reason why, guys,
(01:38:40):
he could have sat out last year and still been
a top ten pick.
Speaker 2 (01:38:43):
There's a reason for that. People. He is far from
a fraud. I feel you, bro. If you want to
like Neighbors, okay, fine, But there was.
Speaker 6 (01:38:52):
Nobody that was drafting last year that thought maybe we
should take Malik Neighbors before we take Marvin Harrison Junior.
Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
So we can stop this people. It's it's okay. We
can stop though. All right.
Speaker 3 (01:39:07):
You know what the Atlanta Falcons said, Michael Pennix, You
can stop too. Yeah, you can stop too. We've seen
it up. Go ahead, you've played enough in the preseason
and Raheem Morris and on, the Falcons have decided to
shut down. The eighth overall pick in the NFL draft
obviously will not be starting because Kirk Cousins is getting
(01:39:28):
the nod as the starter.
Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
Who I'll remind you, Oh, it's Kirk going to start
the third game.
Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
Well, I don't know if he's gonna start the third
game is and be starting the first game of week one?
Speaker 2 (01:39:36):
Oh oh so oh yeah, Okay, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
Yeah, but we both think we both need that older
than me with one less achilles tendon. Kirk Cousins also
one hundred million, one hundred million dollars guaranteed more.
Speaker 2 (01:39:48):
Than That's why he's starting.
Speaker 3 (01:39:50):
But I do not understand and do not like, why
is Michael Pennix's just done for the preseason. I don't
get it. I don't get um. Shine some light on
this for me, DJ, because you're the one. You actually
liked the pick initially.
Speaker 6 (01:40:07):
And I still do because I understand the thought process
behind it. I think what happened was and just to
go as fast as I can. The Atlanta Falcons, I
think jumped a gun on Unkirk Cousins and then they
realized they might have made a mistake. So instead of
doubling down on a mistake, you try to correct it
as fast as you can, which would have been the draft. Yeah,
you could have took a bunch of other players.
Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
Man, I get it.
Speaker 6 (01:40:29):
But if you think you made a mistake on this quarterback,
then if you like somebody that's in.
Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
This draft, you have to go get him.
Speaker 6 (01:40:35):
I said yesterday, and we filled in last night on
Jason Smith and Mike Harmy showed that this happens in
the NFL all the time.
Speaker 2 (01:40:41):
Guys.
Speaker 6 (01:40:41):
I think teams get forced and get pushed into taking
a quarterback early because we've been told and brainwashed it.
This is what you gotta do. If no one waits
till the next year, Guys, we do this. That's how
Mitchell Trubisky gets drafted high. That's how Daniel jones To
gets drafted high. That's how Zach Wilson gets drafted high.
That's how these guys get drafted high. Guys, because every
year there's not a GM that goes well. We don't
(01:41:03):
have a quarterback, and we're a terrible deposition.
Speaker 2 (01:41:05):
But that sophomore at Penn State that's coming out there, Yeah,
well wait for no.
Speaker 6 (01:41:10):
You gotta evaluate what's in front of you right now
and take what's right now. That's why they did that,
shutting him down. I normally have an answer for most things.
I have no answer for that. I have no idea
if you're going to name Kurt the starter for the
regular season. Cool Martin and I both thought that was
what was gonna happen. But why are you shutting down Pinis?
If anything, get Pinnis, it's many as many reps here
(01:41:33):
as possible if he's not gonna be the starter. So
I would like to hear what the reason behind this is.
Unless there's someone of power there that put the cell
phones and put the cameras away and kind of whisper
to each other, I don't know if Kurt's gonna be
able to really last this year.
Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
Guys, we gotta start.
Speaker 6 (01:41:51):
Them because we're paying them one hundred million dollars guarantee.
This isn't Russell Wilson and Matt Flynn. If you guys
remember how that story went right, Matt Flinne is the
big contract from Green Bay to Seattle. Russell wasn't get
drafted in the third or fourth round, but beats him
out in the preseason and we never even see the
Matt Flinn from Green Bay we thought we were going
to see. I'm really intrigued that why he's being shelved Martin,
But I don't have an answer, man, what do you think?
(01:42:15):
Why do you think he's being.
Speaker 3 (01:42:16):
Shelled Because I think the Atlanta Falcons have absolutely no
idea what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (01:42:21):
That is why I think he's sitting in the bench.
Speaker 3 (01:42:23):
I think that the brand trust of the Lanta Falcons
is wandering and lost. Tell them how no idea, no
hydro feelings what they are doing when it comes to
building a quarterback room and developing talent.
Speaker 2 (01:42:35):
That's what I think is happening.
Speaker 3 (01:42:36):
Just grossness management by the same organization that said last year,
you know what, we're fine on Lamar Jackson, We'll go
ahead and start Desmond Ridder who at that point, this
is what they had to each other's names. Lamar Jackson
was an MVP in the league before last season, was
an MVP in the league. Now it's two time MVP.
Desmond Ritter was MVP of the Bahamas ball. I rest
my case. Wow, themar J Morris coming up next. MLB
(01:42:59):
broke contentert. We'll go around the horn with them.
Speaker 7 (01:43:01):
But first, man, Yeah, how is the Cowboys Raiders game
blacked out in LA?
Speaker 4 (01:43:16):
We can't watch it. I just spoke to the guys
over here. I was like, do you guys, do you
have the channel for the Cowboys? It's on the NFL
network is.
Speaker 6 (01:43:22):
Blacked out in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, and neither team plays.
Speaker 2 (01:43:26):
You know what it is?
Speaker 4 (01:43:27):
One night game blacked out in Los Angeles.
Speaker 3 (01:43:28):
It's because they figure, Okay, there's no real Rams fans here.
Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
Okay, So like if you've lived in.
Speaker 3 (01:43:35):
LA for a long time and you're a Raiders fan, right,
and then if you transplanted into LA, you're probably like
half of America a Cowboys fan.
Speaker 4 (01:43:45):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
So they said this is basically a double home game, right,
that's all. I got the train thirty minutes.
Speaker 6 (01:43:53):
They do train thirty five minutes up to one on
one write An Oxnard too, So maybe I'm just I'm
just trying to help the situ.
Speaker 2 (01:44:00):
What do we talk?
Speaker 4 (01:44:01):
What are you talking about? This is a night game
and it's blocked out in La.
Speaker 8 (01:44:05):
I can't why.
Speaker 9 (01:44:06):
Is that discretion?
Speaker 4 (01:44:07):
It is a disgrace. They're tied at three apiece right now,
halfway through the first quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
I don't think fighting.
Speaker 5 (01:44:14):
Jaguars are reading the Buccaneers twenty to seven, one minute
to go and now one Mac Jones for Jacksonville two
hundred and ten yards and two touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (01:44:21):
Yes, it is just the preseason. But Titans edged the
Seahawks sixteen to fifteen.
Speaker 5 (01:44:25):
Titans rookie kicker Brayden narvis Sen, let's say narvis Sen,
he walked it off with the field goals, so that's
exciting for him. Colts beat the Cardinals twenty who went
to thirteen. The Dolphins outscore the Commanders thirteen to six.
The Jets, they didn't play any of their starters. They
beat the Panthers fifteen to twelve.
Speaker 4 (01:44:39):
Rams beat the Chargers in La.
Speaker 5 (01:44:41):
Stetson Bennett, a name that may sound familiar to you,
quarterback for the Rams. Two hundred and thirteen yards, one touchdown,
one interception. Earlier today, the Ravens edge the Falcons thirteen
to twelve. The Bills with the ninety to three win
over the Steelers, Russell Wilson eight of ten for forty
seven yards. He didn't play in the second half, justin
fields eleven of seventeen ninety two yards forty two rush yards.
The Bears with the twenty seven to three win over
(01:45:02):
the Bengals, Kate lob Williams seventy five yards in the
air in a rushing touchdown in the win. The Texans
beat the Giants twenty eight to ten. Daniel Jones did
to look that hot one hundred and thirty eight yards
in the air, two interceptions, and the Lines beat the
Chiefs twenty four to twenty three. But Patrick Mahomes did
have a nice backpass there to Travis Kelce, which you
guys talked about earlier in the show, so you should
listen to the podcast. The Vikings outscored the Browns twenty
(01:45:24):
seven to twelve. Then let's move on to baseball. The
Orioles are now losing to the Red Sox at home
three to one, top of the eighth inning. The Rockies
on the scoreboard, but the Padres are still on top
seven to three top of the seventh. The Dodgers did
lose to the Cardinals earlier today. Final score was five
to two, so the Padres right now are two and
a half games back with the Dodgers for the top
spot in the NL West. Shoho Tani did hit his
(01:45:45):
thirtieth homer of the season, and to add more insult
to injury, Freddie Freeman came out of the game for
the Dodgers with a finger injury. X rays came back negative,
but he is day to day, so another injury for
the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
There.
Speaker 5 (01:45:57):
The Braves are beating the Angels four zero, thereby to
start the fourth inning. The Tigers blank the Yankees earlier
today for zero. The Twins ended up beating the Rangers
five to two, and the Astros beat the White Sox
six one. Chicago, not that we didn't know this, but
mathematically Chicago is officially.
Speaker 4 (01:46:13):
Eliminated from playoff contention.
Speaker 5 (01:46:16):
I think we knew this for months, but now it
is official, based on math, based on numbers.
Speaker 3 (01:46:23):
It's pretty amazing that they could have gone on an
incredible win streak and somehow still qualified.
Speaker 6 (01:46:29):
And it's the Socks, the shy oh Wow, with ninety
plus losses on August the seventeenth, they got eliminated.
Speaker 2 (01:46:38):
Damn I know, damn Gina.
Speaker 4 (01:46:42):
I'm just saying today made it official. There was still
hope up until today.
Speaker 5 (01:46:47):
You should have brus meat the Guardians to one guys,
it's been fun.
Speaker 2 (01:46:51):
Back to you well, thanks mom.
Speaker 3 (01:46:53):
Yes, coming to you live from the Tireck dot Com studios.
Martin Weiss VJ Husky. Let's get our guy in here,
Damar J Morris. He's an MLB bro content reporter. You
can find all of his stuff on mlbbro dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:47:07):
DeMar, how are you am, my friend?
Speaker 11 (01:47:10):
I'm good, I'm good. Happy birthday, man.
Speaker 2 (01:47:12):
I appreciate it my friends.
Speaker 3 (01:47:13):
And uh, you know what you were telling me, I
got good news coming to my way from the Tigers.
How big back back in the lineup? Did uh did
Hobby Bias fall down a trip? And remember how the head?
Speaker 11 (01:47:25):
Oh no, no, you know, excuse me. I mean, you
know Hobby, but no, I'm not talking about Hobby. You know,
I'm talking about Turtle Sin. He came back, showed out.
Uh this Tigers team, man, I just want to see
you guys finished strong. I was going to see you
guys finished strong. He's a down year record wise. To
try to get as close to the last year's record
as possible, carry that momentum in the next season and
you know, I keep saying that you guys got you know,
(01:47:46):
some pieces, keep adding and maybe you guys could do
something next year, but definitely not to have Turko skin back.
Speaker 13 (01:47:52):
You know.
Speaker 11 (01:47:52):
Obviously, if you could have got him back sooner than
maybe you guys probably could have made a push in
a run. But just having him back is huge. So
excited see what you guys do next year and from
here on up?
Speaker 3 (01:48:02):
You me both, my friend, because last couple of years
that has been a does that start tomorrow?
Speaker 2 (01:48:07):
Jay VJ?
Speaker 13 (01:48:07):
Here?
Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
What's going on? Brother? How's the family? How my little
man doing? Oh?
Speaker 11 (01:48:11):
Everybody's good, man, We're good, blessed.
Speaker 2 (01:48:13):
That's what's up? God, bless man. Listen. I'm a frugal guy,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (01:48:16):
I know I kind of can get flashy sometimes, but
I love a good sale.
Speaker 2 (01:48:20):
I do, man, I love a good bargain. Baby.
Speaker 3 (01:48:22):
But you want to talk about mister Chris sale man educators?
Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
Brother? What you got on this? Man? I'm interested?
Speaker 11 (01:48:28):
No, I just want to from some love. It's just
not to see him regain the you know cy young
form MVP type form. Uh. Me and my dad were
talking about this earlier because he's a Braveles team. We're
so quick to want to count guys out, you know,
when we see them tend to struggle, and a lot
of times we when they come back from injury, we
just expect them to be one hundred percent healthy, and
it's very rare these guys are one hundred percent healthy
(01:48:49):
when they're coming back from injury. So always excuse me.
I always had a feeling that he, you know, was
dealing with some things that we probably didn't know about,
lingering issues, you know, setbacks, And it's obviously he's the
healthiest he's been in years, because he's looking how he
was about eight years ago. So it's obviously he was
dealing with some things, and you know he's feeling good now.
So I just wanted to give him his flowers. And
it's just nice to see him pitching and dominating the
(01:49:10):
game because you know, he was one of the best
in the league a couple of years ago and he's
looking like it again this year.
Speaker 3 (01:49:14):
So shout out to say, all right, but how many
starts would Chris Sale have officially if this new rule
was in place?
Speaker 2 (01:49:21):
Six anding minimum for starting pictures?
Speaker 3 (01:49:25):
Tell me like it, love it, hate it, and tell
me why I'm.
Speaker 11 (01:49:30):
On the fence. I'm on the fence. From a pictures perspective,
I like it. You know, it allows them to be
more strategic, you know, utilize more pitches and you know,
I feel like that benefits the pictures more. But then
from a manager standpoint, I don't like it because you
almost handicapped the manager any decisions where you're preventing the
manager from making a decision when he wants to. I'm
(01:49:51):
not a fan of that. Yeah, there's certain stipulations they
have in place that would allow him to make that change.
But excuse me again, sorry, but the picture would have
to so at least one hundred pitches or you know,
he would have to four earn runs or more. And
I'm not a fan of that. He should be able
to make a change when he wants to, you know,
how he feels, he knows his guys, He may feel
his guys doesn't have it going, may see some early
(01:50:11):
not ledge shut it down. Let's get him out now,
and with that rule in place, that might prevent that.
So not a fan of that aspect. But obviously this
probably won't happen for a couple more seasons though, you know,
make some changes, make some tweaks, and so yeah, overall
I'm on the fence with two.
Speaker 2 (01:50:26):
Hey Demarch, and three of us are all out here
and beautiful li Lai lamb man.
Speaker 6 (01:50:29):
All this good weather, all this good sports out here.
But I tell you, I told you about two months ago.
The Dodgers payroll is too high to have the record
that they have, and I never would have thought that
the Padres could catch them two and a half out
right now, eight and two in their last ten with
a ninety four point one percentage of making a playoffs.
So they're going into the postseason.
Speaker 2 (01:50:50):
We know that.
Speaker 6 (01:50:52):
But do they have a legit shot? I think they do. Man,
do they have a legit shot to catch the Dodgers?
Second part of the quest. If they catch the Dodgers
and passed them and the Dodgers do not win this
division and get ousted early in the playoffs, is it
really time to hit the reset button on a few
pieces there.
Speaker 11 (01:51:10):
No, As far as resetting, though, I think that's an
easy answer.
Speaker 9 (01:51:14):
No, you got too much, too much.
Speaker 11 (01:51:16):
They're two talented, they'll be all right. Injuries did hit
him hard this season. But as far as the Padres,
I do think they have a shot as well, and
to make a run after World Series. I really do
you got Musgrove back. The offense is nights, and like
I said, they were balling when they when they were
missing some pieces, you know, when Bogarx was out a
couple of games, Musgrove was out you know for a
little bit. Tatis had missed for a while, so you
(01:51:36):
know they're balling then. So they do got a shot.
Good defense, they got bats and Jackson Merrill give that
kids some props. Man, he's balling going crazy right now.
So I love watching him play. And yeah, they they're
definitely going to be a problem and for the Phillies
as well. You know, it ain't gonna be an easy
role for the Phillies either, so as good as they've looked,
but yeah, the Padres definitely got a shot.
Speaker 6 (01:51:55):
Hey, all right, so let's go there with the Phillies
because I dude, I love this team.
Speaker 2 (01:51:58):
I do.
Speaker 6 (01:51:59):
I I right now, if I had to pick a
twenty twenty four World Yiars champion, it would be the
Philadelphia Phillies. They've been the most consistent team all year long.
I believe they still have the best record.
Speaker 2 (01:52:09):
If I'm not mistaken. In the majors.
Speaker 6 (01:52:11):
Yet they have the most wins in the majors right now,
one game above the Yankees. And we see what's going
on with them in the Orioles. But I look at
this team and if they've been on the door step
recently in the last few years, right got to a
World Series and they've been there, got to an n
L nlcus that this could be their year. Man, I
think they're the team that's gonna end up coming out
(01:52:31):
of the NL and the team that could be holding
the trophy at the end.
Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
Changed my mind.
Speaker 11 (01:52:36):
No, I'm with you. I mean, I've been on them
for a little bit. It's hard not to be. They
got everything. Defense, they got bad, they got pitching, they
got a bullpen, and you look at the trio that
they have, Wheeler Nola, Ranger. I know Ranger. You know,
he kind of shoveled a little bit over the last
month and the half two months, so we already know
what he's capable of. And you got guys like a
Mundo Sosa, you know, just underrated guys who don't get
(01:52:57):
talked about, who deserve a little more love. It's hard
not to be on the cillies, man. I like this
team too, the tous and like you said, they've been
on the dark step, you know, so it's only a
matter of time before they get over the hunt. And
they got to they got too soon, because that might
be a team where you might want to make some changes.
You know, Shorebert, you know, is a little up there,
and you know those guys have been together for a
little bit now, So that might be a team who
(01:53:18):
might make some changes if they can't get it done
this year, just because they've been so close.
Speaker 2 (01:53:22):
Only only team in the Majors too, by the way,
just last one.
Speaker 6 (01:53:24):
Only team in the Majors with forty or more home wins,
only team No.
Speaker 3 (01:53:29):
I was just about to say, I know one team
that's not making a change anytime soon. That's Martin and VJ.
We're not changing the March a Morris one bit. You
can catch a mirror every Saturday ten thirty Eastern, seven
thirty Pacific.
Speaker 2 (01:53:41):
Going around the Horn.
Speaker 3 (01:53:42):
We'll have him on from now until Game seven, or
I guess, if necessary, all of the World Series.
Speaker 2 (01:53:48):
The March.
Speaker 3 (01:53:49):
Thanks for coming on, my friend, appreciate yes, thank you
though I blessed brother, no doubt, no doubt, all right, VJ,
like you just struck out to lose World Series Game seven. Ready,
shortly after the show hour, poders will be going up.
You missed any of today's show, be sure to check

Also be sure to follow, rate and review the NAH podcasts.
Speaker 3 (01:54:12):
Again, just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your guys,
and you'll see this show posted right after we get

to do a little birthday trivia.
Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
So we'll see what that what that has in store
for everybody. Martin Wise VJ Husky, Fox Sports Radio. He's
a birthday.
Speaker 3 (01:54:31):
Guy, Martin Wisse VJA Husky coming to your line from
the tyreck dot Com studios. Keeping the seat warm for
Aaron Torres and Jason Martin as they'll be coming up
in just a minute. VJ make a good point as
the song playing right now is in the Club by
fifty cent. It's gotta be top fives. Most songs that
(01:54:53):
win it was out got over over overplayed real fast.
Speaker 2 (01:54:59):
I think the number one for me is Happy by Pharrell.
Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
I don't think I've ever heard a song that made
me do like the exact opposite of what the title was.
Speaker 2 (01:55:07):
I just got angry every time I heard it.
Speaker 6 (01:55:09):
Yeah a long shot, Yeah, that one got worn out.
But New York state of mind. Yeah, with Alicia Keys
and Uh and jay Z, that thing got played.
Speaker 2 (01:55:24):
And this is the thing. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 6 (01:55:26):
Because Alicia Keys when she hits her notes on the
on the course, that's what you're hearing. And it's just like,
oh my god, this song again and again and again
and Rihanna and Rihanna Umbrella. If I don't ever have
to hear Umbrella again. It made me go stand in
(01:55:46):
the rain like, damn it, unbrother, I don't want one.
I'll just get wet.
Speaker 2 (01:55:50):
I don't care. That thing was that those songs right there.
Speaker 3 (01:55:54):
But especially because with Uh, the Rihanna song, she consistently
says under my m burrella.
Speaker 2 (01:56:04):
Yeah, yeah, oh god. Yeah. There are some artists man,
these songs there, and they're popular songs, but they just
we're out from my childhood.
Speaker 6 (01:56:14):
Ice ice baby, ice baby. That thing just got and
you know what saved it is the living color skit.
Speaker 2 (01:56:22):
Jim.
Speaker 6 (01:56:23):
Can you guys remember that if you'm well you guys
are young or butack you actually I don't remember that.
If you go YouTube, Oh, you go YouTube Jim Carrey,
Vanilla Ice. They did it because you know, they would
do spoofs of artists. It is one of the greatest
comedy sketches ever done. And Living Colors signed there Live
Mad TV. Any of these shows is when that because
(01:56:44):
when the camera pans in, you think it's Vanilla Ice, like, oh,
they got Vanilla Ice on today because they used to
have music artists in the show it and he turns
around and it's Jim Carrey, and I still remember my
dad and my mom on the couch almost falling on
the floor laughing. Yo, vip let's kick.
Speaker 2 (01:57:02):
It in his shoe. I'm not gonna run it. Go
watch it, Go watch it, Go watch it, Go watch
it when you get a chance. I love that. I'm
not gonna ruin it, he says. I know, I'm not
gonna ruin it. Sorry. It's like it's gotta be what
over thirty five years old? Yeah, that's nineteen ninety one.
Speaker 3 (01:57:15):
Two thirty over thirty years or thirty years old. I
feel like the stature's limitations is up. If something's been
out for thirty years, I don't think you could ruin
Rocky for example.
Speaker 6 (01:57:24):
No, you can ruin movies. You can ruin old movies.
I had a friend of mine just tell me he'd
never seen The Godfathers, and I said, if you don't
go watch all three of them in the next two weeks,
we're no longer friends anymore.
Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
Well tell me, I said, I'm not gonna tell you nothing.
But he called me back.
Speaker 6 (01:57:37):
He goes, and all the sayings that come from these
movies if you never saw them, Like I didn't know
what the Death Star was until I watched Star Wars,
like a year ago.
Speaker 12 (01:57:46):
A year ago, you watched Star Wars. Yep, he made
me do it, and you didn't know what the death
Star was before that.
Speaker 6 (01:57:52):
I've heard people reference it, but I never knew that's
what they were taught. First of all, Darth Vader was
a bad mother.
Speaker 12 (01:58:00):
Yeah, dude, do you know the big big Star Wars
plot twist going in?
Speaker 6 (01:58:06):
Or did you I didn't know nothing, Martin, Martin, Chris,
how do you just go through? Martin Perfet had to
say to me, Star Wars is space balls. Okay, I'm
Lord Helmet, I'm Lord Helmett. Rick moranis all day long.
Speaker 2 (01:58:19):
Okay, there the President from Independence Day, Bill Pillam or Polling,
whatever the guy's name is. Yeah, the President, the guy
that played the President and Independence Day is in space Balls.
I'm a comedian, bro, So that's that's mel Brooks.
Speaker 12 (01:58:33):
I'm just I'm jealous of you that you got to
experience one of the greatest all time plot twists, just
completely blind.
Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
I don't know how I didn't know. I wonder though,
is that something to be all right?
Speaker 3 (01:58:48):
So to your point, did your job get it because
he was able to experience it for the first time.
But on the other end, you experienced this, I imagine
as a child. Yeah, but I don't even remember. I
feel like I knew the you know, I am your
all their line like so it's just so ingrained pop.
Speaker 6 (01:59:03):
Culture, Like I knew that line, but I didn't know
how it would come about how it would and I
was waiting for that and when it happened, I was like, oh, okay, Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:59:12):
That's the same thing with Lion King.
Speaker 6 (01:59:14):
I didn't see Lion King for the first time until
maybe like seven or eight years ago. And when Mufasa
gets killed dude by scar, I start cutting up. I
start cussing up a storm in my house because I'm like,
they did this to children? Because I started to get
teary eyed. I'm like, you know what, this is wrong?
Speaker 8 (01:59:34):
You know I only just started Lion King with Fossa dies.
Speaker 17 (01:59:38):
I can't feet now. I'll never watch it. Awen away away,
I do.
Speaker 6 (01:59:50):
Yes, yes, I've never seen it because by the time
when that movie came out, guys, I was older, so
it wasn't my thing to go watch.
Speaker 2 (01:59:59):
To me, I'm an Aladdin guy.
Speaker 6 (02:00:00):
I think Aladdin's one of the greatest animated movies of
all time. And I hear all the lines that people use,
all with references to Lion King. But I had never
sat down and watched it full all the way through.
Speaker 2 (02:00:12):
And I was like, you know what.
Speaker 6 (02:00:13):
When Disney Plus First got came out, I watched The
Lion King one night's two in the morning. I'm doing
notes for TV show I was on at the time,
and I'm watching it. But when Mufasa gets killed, bro,
I literally out loud start cussing. I'm like, they did
this to children.
Speaker 2 (02:00:28):
That's wrong, Scarret, that's wrong. Out your day, scar Erritoriy
jesse bardem come
