Football is back. It is so back, Alex, so back baby.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
I mean, it's already been such an epic week and
it's been two days. We got a rare Friday football
treat in Brazil. Tough start for the Eagles, then Holy
Saquon Barkley. Giants fans definitely cried themselves asleep last night.
Absolutely incredible treats. And you know what the best part
about this time of year right now is we don't

(00:42):
know what teams are good, so every game is a
good game. It was a little bit sloppy, but it
was a beautiful display of what the promise of this
season can bring.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
True chaos.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Nikki in Brazil, it sounds sound like I'm watching let
me tell you the prophet, I've got to go down.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
I've got a crush. You gotta crush on football.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Well, there was also heartbreak at the end of the
game for Packers fans. Tough one, Jordan Love, but there
was like a sliver, a sliver of hope because the
MRI came back it said it was a sprained MCL
should not be season ending. We don't have the timetable yet,
but we'll dive into that a little later. Thursday night,
Dude Chiefs Ravens delivered up until the final play, proving

(01:25):
once again Mahomes and the Chiefs live rent free in
Lamar Jackson's head and all of our heads, really everyone's head,
I mean, dude, defending champs just got beat down from

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Game day.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
All better start acting like yes today, you guys, because
we have a great show for you.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Carmen Vitally it's headed to Chicago for the Bear's home
opener shows. She's going to be joining us in about
fifteen minutes to break down at the NFC North that
we have the smartest mind in sports. NFL Network. Cynthia
Freeland joins that literally she is the computer. She codes,
She creates all of like all of the odds, all
of the stat lines, everything you see for NFL Network.

(02:48):
That is Cynthia Freeland like coding. It's insane. It's she
tells me things and I'm like, uh, draw picture, no
brain for that. Airplanes over my head. We've got producer
Patrick with us today, technical us Chris Perfet, we got.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Brian Finley at the news desk, which we love.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
We'll keep you updated on all the college football action
as it goes down today. But let's get started with
that rare treat of a Friday night game.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Eagles Brazil Packer in Brazil.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah, dude, I don't know if you heard, but the
Eagles got some loud booze as they.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Entered the stadium last night.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
No, I got a question here before we go in,
and like everyone, Brian nit Patrick, everybody, are the Packers
the most loved franchise outside of America? Because I feel
like every country I've been to they love the Packers
and there's always like a Packers bar everywhere I'm traveling.
And then you kind of saw that again last night
when the Eagles came in and got booed in Brazil? Like,

(03:44):
are the Packers the most cheese the internationally like loved
football team?

Speaker 5 (03:50):
You're you're asking the exactly wrong person.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I wish.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
To stop all over Europe, Like I will say there's
always there's a lot of Lions fans in England.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
No, there is, there is no Those are called.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Colored lenses are not?

Speaker 5 (04:11):
That is Like I have proof enough talking with people
in there, having enough people who I know who run
like from people.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
This might not be an educated or you could argue
this is an uneducated take. But Green Bay is the
smallest market television wise to have an NFL team. YEA
and I think there's a level of pity for those
outside the United States destroyed. Yeah, and people it's such
a they think it's such a small fan base, but

(04:41):
they want to be able to put their arms around
the team.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
I need a nice one here, you know what.

Speaker 6 (04:47):
Like, well, I'm not a Cowboys outside of the US.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
Actually, while I'm not a Packer fan, I'm actually gonna
side with Nikki. I think it's the cheese. Think the
cheese heads. Everybody loves cheese.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
It's like an easy thing to kind of jump on
board four and you're like and.

Speaker 7 (05:01):
Green and yellow. It's just there's something about those colors
in a fun of America for the cheese.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I grew up in a non football market and as
a young child, I distinctly remember the cheeseheads. Yet how
could you not fall in love with the cheeseheads? Also
a universally loved food group. So that's the answer.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Okay, fine, I'm just gonna say I've traveled all over
the world and majority of like, if there's an NFL bar,
it's going to be a Packers bar somewhere, like all
over Europe, South America. So okay, I'll move on. Thank you, everybody,
for chiming into that one but healthy debate. Hell yeah,
the game had it all. Like, it was a really

(05:38):
tough start for the Eagles and Jalen Hurts Hurts through
an interception on the eagles first drive. Packers got a
field goal off of that second Eagles drive, miscommunication on
the snap that led to a fumble and some words
exchanged between Herts and his new center. Then the Packers
recovered and scored another field goal. But but after that
tough start, Holy, Saquon Barkley made every Giants fan cry

(06:02):
themselves to sleep last night. Three touchdowns, two rushing, one receiving,
one hundred and nine rushing yards, twenty three receiving yards.
It feels like he was just meant to be here
and meant to be playing with the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Just so thrilling to see him have this moment and
to have a new home right And it's also probably
the best it's the best O line he's ever played
in front of.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Like this is the best team all together that he's
been around. And you can see how much it elevates
a good player when you're around other great players.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Absolutely, and Alex I do have to give you one
correction here you said this game had everything, it did
not have a successful tush push. Oh my god, can
we have a moment of silence.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
For the brother Lesha Jason Kelsey, you are so missing you.
That was embarrassing. That was like the fact that they tried,
and like.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
I think you retire it with him. You have to.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
In years past, toush push was like automatic, This is
going to be a point right right, no, wrong, wrong,
Not anymore, not without Jason Kelsey, the last Jason. We
miss you, we miss you. I did love seeing him
though in the hype video.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Yo and no, And I do think you're right. Philadelphia's
defense carried them early on. Jalen found some momentum. Obviously
he was mistake prone to but I think if you're
a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you went to bed happy thinking
enough just about Saquon Barkley, but about what Kellen Moore

(07:34):
can do with that offense and the way that team
ended the season last year after starting ten and one.
Oh my gosh, you know, to be frank, the Eagles
and Hurts were two kind of my candidates on my
radar of like they need to prove themselves so that
losing streak to end the season last year to come

(07:57):
out at least with a w. I mean it was close.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Jordan Love like he was about to go on a
possible game winning drive then got hurt taken out of
the game with five seconds left. Like Eagles fans, you
are lucky because there was momentum there and it felt
like they were going to be able to somehow get
this done to win the game.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Jordan needed this one.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Yeah, Jordan Love and the Packers had an answer to
everything the Eagles did. It was like they scored, they
came right back, they fumbled, they scored a field goal,
like it was just it was such a good back
and forth battle. So I just I'm excited because these
first two games were insane. But now we're gonna do
a fun little segment that we're gonna do at the
top of each hour called if you Ain't First Last,

(08:42):
And this one's NFC edition. We're gonna go through each
of the divisions in the NFC and share who we
think is going to finish first in the division, starting
in the NFC East. And you know what, I full
transparency here. I oh man, I changed a chan a
little bit of my mind after watching last Night's game.

(09:04):
So after saying how big of an impact Saquon Barkley
is going to have on this Eagles team, I now
have them.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I had them at two.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
I now have them at like a one with a
very someone who I don't think you think I'm going
to have it too. But hold on Eagles. I bet
on them two years in a row. Last year they
broke my heart. But I really think Saquon Barkley is
going to be the difference maker here. This is the
best O line he's ever had. He's a better version
of himself on this team, and he showed how much

(09:35):
this Eagles team can lean on him as a running
back and even as a receiver. He'd a receiving touchdown
like this is this is great. I'm going to take
the Eagles butt. Here's another hot take. I think Washington
is going to be battling for that top spot. And
hear me out, there's a lot of exciting new a

(09:58):
lot of hope and if Jaiden Daniels hits kind of
like how CJ. Stroud hit last year, who was again
the second overall pick. This team is young, they're fresh.
They have Cliff Kingsbury as their offensive coordinator who's a
former head coach who worked with Caleb Williams at USC
last year.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
I feel like that's gonna be a great relationship.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
So I feel like this is going to be a
battle for the top between the Eagles and Washington.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
I love that jump that you're predicting for the Commanders. Honestly,
I know Cowboy fans are gonna come at me honestly
as your pay. I don't have the Cowboys the top.
I have the Eagles as well, because I needed to
see some grit in terms of being able to overcome
adversity in that big losing skid we saw them close
out the season with last year. It was like every

(10:43):
time something went wrong in a game, the leadership was
not there. Well, no, they broke down.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Have you heard, like Hertz and Sirianni like, we're also
like not in a great space exactly.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
So last night it wasn't pretty, no, but they pulled
it out. And I think the addition of Saquon, the
addition of Kellen is what this team needs. I think
what we saw last night was a floor for what
this Eagles offense can be, and the defense set the tone.
I'm not a firm believer in the Cowboys. DAC has
yet to prove me. H, Robbie. I mean, he is

(11:14):
coming off his best season of his career. Last he was, Yeah,
he was the runner up to the MVP.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
But he's also he doesn't like he's playing on the
last year of his contract. He's playing for his contract,
but he doesn't have like, what are his weapons besides
ceede lamb, Like that's that's all you got.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Like there's not a lot of options exactly exactly. And
I too, am a firm believer in the potential and
excitement around Jayden Daniels. And I also want to see
Washington have some success because they have been mired in
misery for so long, so long. But I don't think
that rookie learning curve is going to be as smooth

(11:50):
for him as it was for CJ. Stroud. I think
that franchise has some work to do as a whole
to get you, yeah, to get used to winning right right.
I love Cliff Kingsbury's offense. I covered him when he
was in the Big twelve. You know, I've seen what
he's been able to accomplish at every stop along the way.
But I don't think Washington will be number two. And

(12:12):
that's why I've got the New York Giants sitting at
the bottom. You are sitting at the bottom. Okay, yeah, yea, yeah,
So I took Eagles. Okay, okay, okay, let's move to
the NFC West. Now.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
My pick is the forty nine Ers because I have
them going to the super Bowl. However, I think it's
going to be a closer battle than most things, with
the Rams at a close second. Keep your just keep
your eye on the Rams. Cooper Compass is back in healthy.
Pooka stepped up last season like when they needed him to.
My only big question is how they're going to fill
that Aaron Donald huge hole, the massive chan Ly Lloyd.

(12:52):
But let's talk about this forty nine Ers team because
their favorite in every game this season. They're a top
two super Bowl favorite, just behind the Chiefs. They still
have all of their talent and all of their weapons.
They locked everyone in for another two years, so this
feels like it has to be their super Bowl year.
But again, like the number one and number two favorite
are the Chiefs and the forty nine Ers. And the

(13:14):
last time there was a Super Bowl rematch in back
to back seasons was in the nineties, ninety two and
ninety three season with the Cowboys and Bills. So it's
been over thirty years, meaning highly unlikely that we're gonna
get both Chiefs and forty nine ers back to the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
But I don't know. This is the best roster in
the league and it's led by the second best coach
in the league. So are you taking forty nine or two?
I had them? I had them one. Sorry to go
chalk with you there, But do you think though, Alex
at the fatigue of three straight NFC championship games could
have a little wear and tear? I know true. I

(13:51):
think it's like added motivation.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
However, I will say I have talked to a few
like people that are with the team every single right
there around it's little. It's they said, it's a little
different this year than it was last year. There's a
little more fire. Last year, I think we love fire. Yeah,
this year it's or edgy. They haven't seen that as much,
And maybe because of the Auk situation and the Trent

(14:14):
Williams like lasting up until like a couple of weeks
before the season.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
But I mean they have a big test right out
of the Gates tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
So this is going to be a good Okay, So
you took you took the Okay, So let's move to
the NFC North. My pick is a Lions. The Lions
have some serious unfinished business. They also locked in a
lot of their guys this offseason. They believe so strongly
in Jared Goff. This team has so much chemistry. They

(14:45):
fight for each other. They have that grit attitude led
by Dan Campbell, which, by the way, if you saw
his Applebee's commercial was absolutely incredible.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Way to go that more, Dan Campbell. Please.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
It feels like this team would run through a brick
wall for you each other. But that's a thing, you know,
there's a the little The scary part here I think
for the Lions is they've never had a postseason winning culture,
so can they actually finished the job. Remember last season
was their first playoff winning thirty two years, their first
home playoff game in thirty years. So they have all

(15:19):
the pieces, they have the leadership, and it feels like
they have everything to make it happen.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
But we still need to see the results, right And
in a lot of these divisions, I'm looking at who
can finish first via who wouldn't you know, what's the
competition looking like process of elimination? Right exactly. And I
honestly went into last night's game thinking Green Bay with

(15:44):
the way they finished the season last year, the contract
Jordan Love signed, they could be nipping at the Lions heels.
But last night, I don't know if he's ready for
the moment and the leadership that Jared Goff has shown.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
If he's going to be back right and he's going
to be healthy, like that's a game changer. If you
don't have Jordan Love, Packers like this is a this
is a completely different team. That's your franchise quarterback. You
just made the highest paid quarterback in the league.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
And you look at the offense the Lions lead. It's
established the talent of a Aman Ross Saint Brown, Sam Laporta,
obviously led by Jared Goff, and then you know the
grit of Dan Campbell. It's undeniable. So they were my
sweetheart pick. Also, I'm really excited to see Caleb Williams
on display in Chicago right as we all are. But

(16:33):
I don't think that rookie learning curve, No, no, no.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
There's a lot of pressure and expectations for Caleb Williams.
Is it going to come out in year one? I
don't know if it does. Heck yeah, okay, real quick
before we go NFC South.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Oh okay, I think this is where we might have
yet ones.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Okay, good, well, I'm going with the Bucks, Baker and
the Bucks.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
On it and they.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
I think people are a little too high on the
Falcons who have Cousins coming off a major injury in
a new city with a new team, and his replacement
is training with him. Like that's a lot of mental
puzzle pieces to add to a completely new situation. Baker
finally has his home and he has ownership of a team.
There's such a different level of play when you feel

(17:18):
wanted and you feel respected. Baker's been wanting that his
whole career. They still have good weapons with Mike Evans,
Chris Godwin, Baker and the Bucks.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Baby. I am seeing things through a very different lens.
Sign me up for the Raheem Morris Kirk Cousins, cool end.
I am taking the Atlanta Falcons to finish one in
the number one in the NFC South because you know what,
here's what I see. I see a newly unleashed offense
of weapons like Kyle Pitts, Drake London who haven't yet

(17:49):
seen their full potential. And now you got an established
QB and Kirk Cousins who's going to be motivated because
his potential replacement was just his actual his actual place mentioned.
Can we talk about Bijon Robinson maybe rounding out following
up on that spectacular year he gave us last year?
So sign me up, Falcons. That's ride.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Okay, now we'll see, we'll see. All right, we're gonna
take it. We're gonna take a quick break here, but
when we come back, we're gonna have Carmen Vitally joining
us to break down the NFC.

Welcome back to Fox Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry alongside
Nikki k We are broadcasting live from the tyreck dot
Com studios in Los Angeles. Thank you for spending your
Saturday afternoon with little Nick and me. And it is
time for our first guest. We had to have her
be a part of Week one NFL Fox Sports NFC
North reporter my co host Carmen Vitali, who's on our
way to Chicago for the Bears home opener.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
CARMEI, thanks for hopping on.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
At the airport fight.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Oh I love that for you. Also, Jealous, please tell
me you have a drink in hand?

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Absolutely, I mean.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Can we all just like acknowledge the fact that it
doesn't matter what time you're at the airport. It could
be like six am eleven pm.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
It's always drink o'clock. Yeah, yeah, it doesn't. There are
no rules, no rules in the airport. Airport Champagne Airport
Prosecco is a top five prosecco in my book. So
Cheers today, hands down.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Okay, carm we got to start with last night Packers
loss even more heartbreaking with the Jordan Love as we're
hearing sprained MCL.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
What does this mean for Green Bay and Jordan this season?

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Honestly, I think the first reaction is a huge side
of relief because looking at that injury last night, and
everyone was assuming the worst and that's not the case.
You're looking at weeks at this point with the grade
one or grade two MCL is what is being reported.
That's a timetable of three to six weeks. That's so
much better. I think the most fans where like, we're done.

(20:33):
We're thinking, I mean, I had a pit in my
stomachgl last night because the league is just better with
jord and Love in it. You want to see him
ball out after getting that huge contract. But now the
Packers had Malik Willis as their backup quarterback. He's the
only other quarterback on the fifty three. They have Sean
Clifford on the practice squad. I don't think this recruits
them though, from bringing in somebody. I mean, they're really
about Ryan Hannahill. He's available, you're trying to go out

(20:56):
and get a veteran to just kind of here the
Ship'll be very interesting though, because Jordan Love has a
very unique fond and a very unique before with his
very young receivers, and so someone else coming in that
doesn't know these guys, that's going to be really interesting.
But the good news is that the defense last night
falled out in a lot of ways. They got here,

(21:16):
they created turnovers, especially in that first half, they were aggressive.
It looks like Jeff Hopley's system is already taking old
and Green Bay and they're going to need him.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Carmen, I'm curious you mentioned the contract that Jordan Love signed,
and obviously the way he closed out last season made
him such a rising star in this league. But prior
to the last final six seconds of the game last night,
what did you see from him in terms of leading
Green Bay's offense and what did you think of the
tone they set in terms of starting this season.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Yeah, I mean, it's clear that they're picking up right
where they left office failing of last season when he
took the youngest team in the league to the divisional rounds.
The only thing that kind of concerned me was you
see Jordan love th office back and it's really fun
And who am I to really question any sort of mechanics,
but you want to make sure that he can also
do kind of all of the straightforward things about being
at quarterback. However, I'm not gleaning much off of that game.

(22:11):
That field with absolutely atrocious. I think that he just
saw that the fact that there was an he had
an easier time throwing the football on and move rather
than having to set his seat in the really slippery draft.
So on both sides, I'm not really gleaning too much
off of last night's games, just given the fact that
the game plans changed once you realize how slippery that

(22:33):
surface was.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
All right, let's switch gears to Chicago, where you are
en route to. Right now, all eyes are going to
be on the Bears as they get ready to start
the Caleb Williams era.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Do you think he's going to rise the occasion here?
In game one?

Speaker 4 (22:47):
We've seen time and again that Caleb Williams can rise
to the occasion. He's no stranger to the spotlight. Obviously,
playing football at usc in the second largest media market
in the country. This guy has been a professional athlete
for years at this point with the nil coon trecks
that he's had, you know, the reported ten million dollars
he made in those just think collage alone, and he
has risen like nothing has ever looked too big for him.

(23:09):
So you're hoping that Zak kentinues and he's got a
call of the supporting to ask around him, and it
seems like he's having fun in Shane Waldron's offense. I'm
hoping that, you know, just everybody's kind of on the
same page. I'm not going to be surprised if there
are a few bumps in the road early, given the
facts that there's so much new on this offense.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Okay, what what are bumps in the road for you?
What about Keenan Allen? I need to hear a little.
I was just gonna ask about Keenan Allen.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
Yeah, I mean, Keenan Allen is a veteran, but he's
new to Caleb Williams and Taylor Williams is new to
this league. So we want to go have a quarterbacks
sugarting the ball. That's that's new that it's going to
see some looks and some things from this honest defense,
I think a lot of people are overlooking it's gonna
be I think there's going to he's gonna hold the
ball a little bit longer, like we've seen him do
that in pre season, where the line is kind of

(23:59):
had to hold up a litt too long, And I
think that's just him me getting through the progressions, trying
to process this offense because he's not a thousand cup
uncomfortable with against Okay, So if I see him take
some sacks, if he's seeing some furn overs from incompletions,
I'm not going to be surprised. I don't think that
anybody should lose by that, you know, any means, even
if you look at sort of love last season, he

(24:20):
had been in his offense for three years on the bench,
and he still took a little while to kind of
get his groove with his guys and if guys are
learning him at the same time. It's just it's a
reality in the NFL when you have so much, so
many new pieces, especially at the quarterback position. So don't
don't panic if this doesn't go like amazingly well right
off of that. But I do think that this is

(24:41):
going to end up being a full fantastic thing for Chicago.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Correct, and Carmen, I do have a question in terms
of rookie quarterbacks. I mean, we saw CJ. Stroud take off,
and then you're seeing what's happening in New England with
Drake May, you know, being sat behind Jacoby Brissette. And
then obviously there's stories throughout the league of young quarterbacks
who get that time to absorb. Like you just mentioned,

(25:05):
Jordan Love, do you anticipate Caleb kind of veering more CJ.
Stroud or are those bumps gonna be bigger than anticipated.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
It's so funny when we look back at CJ. Shrouds
season last year. The culmination of it was incredibly untrusted
ined was I can't say enough about how well he did.
But it's not as though ces Shroud didn't make mistakes.
He didn't look like a rookie at times. There were
games where he didn't throw for a touchdown, and I
think that that's completely realistic to think about Caleb Williams

(25:35):
when you think about again those ups and downs. I
do think when the season is all said and done
and the Bears kind of hit their stride, Caleb, well,
you're gonna look back at the season and it's going
to be more ces Shroud than not.

Speaker 10 (25:46):
I've just been very.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
Cautious about comparing him to CJ. Shroud because I just
don't want that to be the expectation. As a Bailey.
Caleb is his own dude, and if he goes out
and vollved out like that, I'm not going to be surprised.
But I also don't think that we should glean anything
if he doesn't go out and do that, and if
there are some more bumps in the road and he
is trying to get acclimated to this offense. He does

(26:07):
have so many guys around him though, that he's not
going to need to go be the hero this season's
pretty much at all. As long as he's out of
the game manager and takes care of the football, they're
going to see some success with the Chicago Bears between
all the offensive buttons they have and the defense that
should be a top five units this year.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Okay, I know we've talked a lot about maintaining expectations
for Caleb Williams. You've we've every week thing up to tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
It doesn't matter, though, Okay, so break it down.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
What would be considered a successful rookie season in your
opinion for Caleb.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
I want him to take this step by step. So
the Bears rookie quarterback records are just on the floor.
They are just so abysmal, and he should blow through
those by Halloween. If he does that, if the Bears
get to a winning season, beyond that, I don't care.
I'm really really happy with that. If you kind of
see the intangible things of this system taking old and
Caleb kind of grasping it and looking like a pro

(27:04):
throughout this mistakes or not, I think that's great. I'm
not trying to assign a winner Tunnal to the Chicago
Bear at this point because this is a school of sport.
Even if Caleb goes the ball out, that doesn't mean
that the team is going to fall out. For as
much challenge that's on it, this is still football. It's
still there's tons of parody in this league. And I
just want to make sure that we're not assigning, you know,

(27:24):
team success to one person, okay, because that's not how
the same works.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
If they don't know the postseason, is it a failure?
Is it just that you just want to have a
winning season, That's what I just.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Want them to have a winning I want them to
be maybe in the winning seasons. Don't forget like this
is still going to be especially Jordan Love now not
missing it time and time. Yeah, this is this is
a division with two Super Bowl contenders in a legitimate
super Bowl contenders in it, and it's going to be
hard to win this division. It's going to be hard
to make the playoffs out of this division. But we

(27:55):
could absolutely see a three foods from the NFC and
North in the playoffs this year. But I don't just
don't think that it's a failure by the stander Bears
that they don't reach the post season. I mean they've
only had one winning season in the last I believe
eight or nine years. So just getting into a winning
season at this point is a step up and an
improvement from last year in particular from here before that.

(28:17):
If they're on the right track, that's all I care about.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Okay, Well, before we let you go, we got to
talk about the team that is a top the NFC North.
I think for most people, the Lions, the expectations are
high this year, even higher than they were last year.
After narrowly missing the super Bowl last season. Do you
think a super Bowl is the realistic expectation for Detroit.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
My prediction this year is Lions Verus sheet Super Bowl,
and I stand behind that untoes down. At this point,
I am so high on the Lions. Still. They have
They have their returning basically all of their team from
last year. They also retained Ben Johnson as their offensive coordinator.
They became Aaron delenn as their defensive cornator, both of
which shook head coaching interviews. On top of that, the

(29:03):
one blemish they had last year was their secondary because
they couldn't keep guys healthy. At this point, now they
went out and they traded for Carlton Davis in the
off season. They took two quarterbacks with their first two
picks in the draft.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
They now I think.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Very deep secondary because Brad Holmes, their general lander, was
like I'm power high water, I'm fielding a full secondary
this year. I do not care. And on top of that,
I just think that the defense is for their long.
They have a new defensive line coach to Ade Hutchinson
talks about this week, how good of a relationship they have.
They've gone out to dinner and he really feels like
he can thrive within his coaching points and all of

(29:37):
that kind of stuff up front. So if you have
a pots up front and on top of those detafles too,
and you have the back end and you talked some
good linebackers there, I mean, the defense is going to
be great. And then you already know the offensive firepower
that they have and the versatility they have on offense
with a very creative offensive line, Pops and most creative
offensive line with Ben Johnson, on top of the motivating

(29:59):
factor of Dan Cambell and your head coach who was
going to be the best and reminding you every single
second this season that arly within one half of the
Super Bowl last year. That is on the expectation that.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Some fire Carmen cheers to that. Carmen, take a sip
of proseccoy. You earn that next class. Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Have a great time with the Bears home opener, and
we'll see you back next week.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Thank you guys, so much fun, Oh we will.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
We love you all.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
Right.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Now, let's check in with Brian Fenley and see what's trending.

Speaker 6 (30:29):
Yes, yes, Nikki and Alex, what we got right now
is college football galore. But there's some news regarding Packers
quarterback Jordan Love. This is This is encouraging, right, this
is It looked pretty severe last night when some thought
that maybe it was an ACL. There was a lot
of keyboard warriors on social media that don't have PhDs
or mds trying to diagnose him. But what we are

(30:50):
hearing is that it is an MCL spring for Jordan
Love from last night and he's probably only going to
miss three to six weeks.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
That's not bad.

Speaker 6 (30:58):
That's not bad at all. Best case for what happened,
absolutely no question about it. The Commander's placing their quarterback
Marcus Mariota on injured reserve, and they have signed QB
Sam Hartman from their practice squad. So the legend of
Sam Hartman continues.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Okay, yes, he love Sam's hair.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Yes, Oh, I was like, what's happening? Nikki's doing this?
Like I Handjess like what did I miss?

Speaker 2 (31:21):
What do I not know? That's friending on Sam Brand's hair?
Took college football worm got it last year. So the
more the more Sam Hartman flow in our lives, the better.
Love that.

Speaker 6 (31:32):
Yeah, And I think the Bengals are hoping the more
Jamar Chase the better because they have ruled him as
a game time decision for Sunday's game. They've also on
the injury report put an illness next to his name,
So that's a little bit interesting as far as what
could be going on there.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
But we saw him talk, was it yesterday or the
day before, saying that he's gonna he's gonna play this season.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
So and he didn't seem sick.

Speaker 6 (31:55):
Yeah, it seems curious, but he is listed as a
game time asson as you said, Alex, when he was talking,
he mentioned himself as a game time decision. In college football,
we've got several top twenty five teams playing right now,
this one on Fox Television. Number eleven Utah has a
seventeen and nothing leading against Baylor. That is early stages
of the second quarter. Number five, Notre Dame, speaking of

(32:17):
Sam Hartman, they are trailing Northern Illinois. We've got the
upset watch here at thirteen to seven. Albeit it's still
six minutes in the second quarter.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Yet it's early. It's a little I love it when
they wear their gold helmets though. These are my favorite helmets.

Speaker 6 (32:31):
Yes, oh yeah, yeah, iconic. Yeah, you can't beat that.
Number one Georgia forty five to nothing against Tennessee Tech.
They made that part of the schedule that there's also
seven twenty nine left in the fourth quarter. There Number
twenty one Iowa has a ten to nothing leading against
Iowa State early a lead for number six Ole Miss
ten and nothing against Middle Tennessee eight minutes to go

(32:52):
in the first quarter. Second quarter. Number twenty two Louisville
twenty one to seven in front of Jacksonville State. I
want to mention this this one needed overtime and not
just one overtime session to sort out a victor. It
was Oklahoma State, the number sixteen ranked team in the country,
taking on Arkansas.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Grain takes the ball, hands it off hill, hit the
back build, hey stop, hey stop.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
The Cowboys win.

Speaker 6 (33:15):
The Cowboys win, The Cowboys win another big court down
stop Oklahoma State Radio Network. They won thirty nine to
thirty one in a second overtime against Arkansas. And that
was the final play of that second ot where Oklahoma
State coming back from twenty one to seven deficit in
the first half.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
You know they called them the cardiac Cowboys. Do they
I do. I've spent a lot of time.

Speaker 6 (33:40):
You spent a lot of time in Oklahoma.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Yoh, Mike Gandy, Mike Gandhy is the gift that keeps
on giving in so are the cardiac cowboys. I swear
that fan base knows how to keep you humble but
also give you a heart attack and maybe give you
some reason to celebrate that you didn't know you needed.

Speaker 6 (33:58):
Well, Nikki, what about the q OUR codes that he
was trying to put on his player's helmets, Like did
you hear about that?

Speaker 4 (34:04):
No?

Speaker 2 (34:04):
No, enlighten me on all.

Speaker 6 (34:06):
So I'm curious what you both think about this. So
he was trying to get this thing across where the
players had QR codes on their helmets so the people
watching could take their phone and then donate to an
nil fund. The NCAA came down and said, look, we
cannot have this happen.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
We can't do walking advertisement.

Speaker 6 (34:24):
Yeah, walking funny.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
His time looking out for his players, looking for him
to get paid. It was like a go fundme exactly
on their helmet. Like, I say, you want to pay us,
you like watching us.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Let's go. I think I got that idea from I've
seen bachelorette parties out with my venmo is really or
you know here the QR code is is the next
level they scare me. How how fast would you be
able to zoom in and scan it? I mean that's just.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
On TV, right, If you're watching on TV and it's
like like there, I think that's how you could do it.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
Yeah, I would assume have to get tight shot with
a camera. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
That's also Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater is very very
intimate and very very loud. So maybe some of those
they have the paddle people and they stand and they
whack their paddles against the foam matts and it's a
drumming noise louder that you know ever that can just
startle you at any moment.

Speaker 6 (35:20):
Yeah, Alex Nicky as they get it back to you
also number three Texas one, AGA's number ten Michigan thirty
one to twelve, back to both of you.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Yeah, woo, all right, thank you, Brian. We gotta go
right to break here.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
But when we come back, it is the dues and
the don'ts and sports you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

with Nicky k. We are broadcasting live from the Tyro
dot Com studios in Los Angeles. Thank you for spending
your Saturday afternoon with little Nick and me. It is
time right now for the dues and the don'ts in sports.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Highlighting the dues. Wh I love that putting a spotlight
on the don'ts.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
The subject brings me no joy.

Speaker 6 (36:12):
That's insane.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Next time for the dues and the don'ts in sports.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
All right, I'm gonna start with a D, and mine
is do honor Legends. Alex Morgan announced her retirement from
soccer this week, while also announcing that she's pregnant with
their second baby, and she will play her final game
in San Diego tomorrow. Now, the San Diego Waves sold

(36:37):
over eleven thousand tickets in one day to see her
last match.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
And this is what I love.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
In like a very unprecedented moment, multiple media partners will
simulcast Alex Morgan's final game. You have CBS, Paramount plus, ESPN,
two Prime, NWSL plus like everybody coming in showing out
for Alex Moore.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
That name has been such a staple in our discourse
of women's sports in the fight for equity and what
the US women's national team has accomplished as well.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Dude, I remember after they won because I was a
US embedded reporter in France when they won their World
Cup in twenty nineteen, and the chant in the stadium
in Leon was equal pay, equal pay, Like she give
not a woman herd? Yeah, not only like made women's
soccer what it is, but like really was such a

(37:32):
force in bringing women's sports to where it is right now.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
And if you ask any casuals, she's one of the
first names mentioned.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
In the like women's athlete, Like she's going to be
up there. How about Yeah, all right, Kate La Clark. Now,
let's okay, do wear white after Labor Day? And I'm
talking about you, Isaiah Likely. I don't have the white cleet, sir.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Oh my god, Like you got it? What if you
had white cleats on? That's what Patrick Mahomes said. Everybody, Yeah,
letn know.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
We don't know.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
And maybe the discourse after that game, Raven's finally getting
the edge over the Chiefs. Yeah, so wears some white?

Speaker 3 (38:13):
Yeah, no, okay, I have a don't here okay, don't
challenge the champ. Joey Chestnut crushed his competition. Is made
ate a world record eighty three hot dogs in ten
minutes in his Netflix.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Special, his competition only ate sixty seven.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
That's sixteen more hot dogs Kobiyashi.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
It was like a head to head. It was a
huge rivalry. But for But the thing is Joey is
a staple that that competition didn't have the lore of
the fourth of July. Different, right, Yeah, but he is
the goat. The goat. I can't even amountin say, han't
even I love it? Okay, I'm gonna go with a
don't here, don't This is a little cliche. Don't ever

(38:59):
give up. I'm gonna give some love to the Paralympics,
which are ending tomorrow. And we have seen stories and
unfold of athletes who have overcome such adversity and triumph,
and specifically how about the Woodhalls hunters. I haven't done Okay,
So don't ever give up? Do you believe in true love?

(39:19):
Winning a gold medal in the four hundred meters sprint.
He's a double amputee. He has been one since he
was eleven months old, and this was just a month
after he was championing his wife, Tara Davis Woodhall, who
won a gold at the Paris Olympics as well. So
we love that. Yeah, give it up. I love it.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
You said never, don't give up. I said, do keep
it in the family. Hey dude, I love it, love
it so much. Okay, do give us a good throwback?
Is my next one. Ludacris throughout the footitch out of
Braves game with his big.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Arms and his big shoes, throwing it back to his
get Back music.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Video from two thousand and four, and it didn't click
at first.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
I was just like, what's happening here?

Speaker 3 (40:05):
It took me like thirty seconds to be like, oh no, okay,
this is what he used to do.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Like he had a kind of like belt brow to
his hand and threw it out connic beautiful. Okay, one
one real quick here. Yeah, don't miss out on your
chance to buy your fifty to fifty Raffle tickets. What
show Hayes the money SHOWO TONI had a solo homer
last night, and he is now just five homers away
from fifty home runs. He's got forty six stolen bases,
so we're on fifty to fifty watch a historic. I

(40:29):
was like, where are we going with this? Listen?

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Did someone like win a ton of money from the
fifty to fifty raffle?

Speaker 2 (40:35):
You know, get a little creative with.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
It, dude, Yes, do show players and coaches, personalities and commercials.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
I talked about this earlier.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
Dan Campbell's Appleby's commercial was Chef's Kiss all right when
we come back, The King of the ASC lives rent free,
and Lamar's Had. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Welcome
to hour two of Fox Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry
here with my special guest Nikki in for Carmen today.
Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. We
have had so much go down already this week in football.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
NFL is back, baby.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
We had the two games already this week, a rare
Friday night treat that ended with a little bit of heartbreak.
But then today, you guys, we're Packers fans. Take a
deep breath. Jordan Love is most likely only going to
miss three to six weeks from what we heard. We
also had, like Thursday night, probably the best like opening

(41:31):
matchup that we could ask for in the AFC. We're
gonna get to that in just a bit. We also
had a legend announce her retirement this week. We kind
of talked about that a little last segment, you guys.
Alex Morgan will play her last soccer game.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
Hats off time tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
She helped make women's sports, in women's soccer what it
is today. I am so happy the entire sports community
are giving her her flowers. The game's already sold out.
It's gonna be simulcas on multiple network, CBS, Paramount, ESPN Prime,
like basically anywhere. A little tough on an NFL Sunday,

(42:07):
but just like, ugh, we need.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
To celebrate these women for what they did. I mean,
especially with all the hype we've seen around the WNBA
this summer, we must not forget that it was the
US women's national team. Oh yeah, that really led the way, right.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
Got the conversation started for women's sports and equal pay
and just like kind of bringing it to the forefront
of everyone's attention. So I just she's as cool as
they come. I really got to know her when I
was the US embded reporter for the World Cup in France.
This woman, she walks a walk, She talks to talk
leads by example, so kind to everybody. I'm so excited
for her and like whatever comes next, baby.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
Number two on the way. Yeah, just incredible.

Speaker 3 (42:48):
Powerhouse, someone who can do it all. All right, guys,

Speaker 3 (43:38):
We have Cynthia Frielan from NFL Network joining us in
about thirty minutes to break down.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Basically human computer.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Everything going down in the NFL also give you a
little little help with your fantasy. But let's dive back
in to football, because we had an incredible first game
on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
This game delivered.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
Both teams marched down the field to score touchdown on
each of their first possessions, with two new guys scoring
the touchdowns. Ravens, he had King Henry Chief's first round
draft pick, Xavier Worthy, like a gazelle, like a straight
gazelle running in that touchdown. His first NFL possession was
a touchdown. I also love the fact, I don't know
if you guys saw this. Patrick Mahomes went out of

(44:20):
his way to make sure he grabbed that first football
for Worthy from one of the officials so he could
get his first touchdown ball. He also obviously had two touchdowns,
so he got two touchdown balls and got the game ball.
Three framers from his first NFL game. Welcome to the
big leagues, Alex.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
Did you play SIMS growing up? The computer game?

Speaker 9 (44:42):
No?

Speaker 2 (44:43):
Okay, okay, So here's a funny story go on. I
didn't play a lot of video games, but I played Sims. Okay,
A lot of people. You build homes you know whatever.
But here's the thing. There was a cheat code to SIMS.
Normally you had to earn the money and watch it
build up, but if you had the cheat code, Rosebud,
you could have millions of dollars and build whatever you wanted. Okay,
Xavier Worthy is Rosebud. He is a cheat code. He

(45:06):
is so unfair to add to this Chief's offense. And
then I mean those numbers like you mentioned, three touches,
sixty eight yards, two touchdowns. This man. I think the
rest of the league is upset with Buffalo for making
the trade that enabled Xavier Worthy to be a Chief.
We'll see, well, Hollywood Brown not even playing in that game.
And I mean, you know, watching that game, I had

(45:29):
two takeaways. One is that the Chiefs are going to
repeat and you know, put it down right now. And
number two is that this watching them is fun again
because last season they won in an ugly in ugly fashion,
but saying you know, hey, come at us, we'll do
something different than what our identity has been in they're back.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
Oh yeah, So okay, my couple takeaways from this basically
AFC Championship rematch. On that same note, Patrick Mahomes and
the Chiefs got better, and it really showed you that
last year that was the season and the window for
teams to really take advantage of this Chiefs team because
they got better. They got better. And my second is

(46:12):
Lamar Jackson. I know you said they're not, but Mahomes
and the Chiefs are your kryptonite. Ren for even though
like he cannot find a way to finish these games
against the Chiefs, he had three opportunities in the red zone,
in the end zone with thirty seconds left and lost
by inches a toe. But again it can't come down

(46:33):
to that because he had two other prime opportunities. But again,
I love this rivalry. I love how close these games are.
The Ravens are right there. But the difference between a
super Bowl winning team and not the winners know how
to finish, and Lamar is one to five against Mahomes
and whatever it is, whether it's like a mental block

(46:56):
or it's just something, it's like, you know, when you
play your okay, So I had a very competitive father,
and when you play them, like in a sport, the
first you were you were never gonna beat him. The
first time you do, it's almost like, well should I do?

Speaker 7 (47:11):
This?

Speaker 3 (47:11):
Is it going to take him down. Like and I
remember the first time I beat my dad in something.
It was like I like I literally jumped that mental
hurdle and was like, no, it's done.

Speaker 2 (47:20):
I'm just as good. I'm just as good if the
playing field is equal. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
So it's like I'm just waiting for that moment with
Lamar Jackson because he has all of the talent and
all of the ability, he just has not been able
to get over that mental hurdle with whatever it is
with the Chiefs in Mahome like Mahomes like it was there,
we were, we watched it the last thirty seconds. It
was like you had you.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
Had a couple of misthrows on that final drive too.
It wasn't just the likely like it was a little
far Flowers. I think he missed a wide open Zay
Flowers on one of the fun He.

Speaker 3 (47:52):
Was like trying for someone else. It was like Flowers
wasn't but exactly that the target. It was just That's
why I'm cracking under pressure.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
It looked wide open. He saw every everything but him.

Speaker 3 (48:03):
I just we saw it like we saw it right there,
like that, you gotta be able to finish, right, like
Super Bowl winning teams know how to close out the
biggest moments and right there unfortunately not quite there yet.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
But again, if they both get to the postseason, he'll get.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
Another opportunity because that's where that's where it's gonna go
down if it happens again. But now let's continue on
our new game that we started in the first hour
called if You're not first.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
You're last. First you last.

Speaker 3 (48:32):
Now we're an AFC edition, so we're gonna go through
each of the divisions in the AFC and share who
we think is going to finish first. And we're gonna
start in the AFC East. And I am going with
now if we if we're looking here, I'm just gonna
give you what the odds are, Okay, cause DraftKings has
Jets at plus one sixty five, Bills at plus ninety

(48:54):
five nine five, Dolphins at plus two oh five, Patriots
at plus twenty five hundred.

Speaker 2 (49:00):
A build mode over there in New England.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
And I am taking the Dolphins to win the AFC East. Now,
there is so much hype, I think, too much hype
around the Jets, who haven't proven anything yet. Aaron Rodgers
hasn't proven anything with the Jets, yet he had four
snaps last season before snapping his achilles. Plus there's trouble

(49:23):
in Paradise with Aaron Rodgers and Robert Sala, and we've
we've seen kind of the callouts in the media that
we've heard former teammates kind of share, you know, not
necessarily on the same page. So I'm not as high
on the Jets as everyone else is.

Speaker 2 (49:42):
Now.

Speaker 3 (49:42):
The Bills and Josh Allen, they lost a lot of
weapons and they're going to have to put that whole
Bills team on his back.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
Can he do it?

Speaker 3 (49:50):
He probably has the second best odds I think to
win the AFC East.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
But Miami has everything they need right now.

Speaker 3 (49:56):
They just paid all of their guys, so you know,
they feel appreciated, will take ownership in wanting to win
and play for each other, because that's a big deal.
Like Tua has not only gotten better each year, but
now he's confident and has a coach that believes in
him and tells him how great he is. And that
is huge not only for a player's confidence, but that

(50:16):
is then going to bleed onto how they play on
the field and are with their teammates. They also have
two top tier weapons and Tyreek Hill last season led
the league in receiving yards, tied for the lead in
receiving touchdowns, and Jayden and Jalen wattle Head over one
thousand receiving yards. I think this Miami team can be
very dangerous and I think they're going to take the
AFC East.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
Have you seen those videos of Mike McDaniel's transformation since
he's been he's been, I am obsessed. I love that.
I am obsessed with Mike. The way he showed up
in South Florida to the metis swag yes now as
absolutely I I do. I do.

Speaker 3 (51:01):
Let your freak flag fly like weird as rad sign
me up. He like just everything. I'm like his comments,
the way he talks about his players, everything else. Like
I am obsessed with that man. I want them to
win because of him.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
I and I love Dolphins. I mean I've always I've
always just loved Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (51:20):
You know how you said, like you didn't grow up
with like a football team. We didn't really hear when
I was growing up, and we didn't have like a
solid NFL team.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
I loved the Dolphins because.

Speaker 3 (51:30):
Of because of the colors, because of the Dolphin, and
because of acevan Terra.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
So I was just like Miami. Oh my wish, oh
my gosh, oh Snowflake and Ray Minkley defined my existence.
Thank you. We still open and close the sliding glass
door in our house back iconic love free Snowflake. I listen, Okay,
I have a soft spot for Miami. However, I think

(51:56):
their playoff exit last year in that frigid, cold Kansas
City arrowhead stating, Oh, I think I think it broke them.
I think I'm you know what, you know what they say,
what when you're a Jet, You're a Jet all the way. No,
I think this is one of the most talented rosters
on paper in the league. I think whatever Rogers is doing,

(52:16):
you know, I think I think it's thrown us all
for a loop. And this was a team that won
seven games without him last season. He's got to be
good for at least four or five more this year.
I am I'm joining the I'm joining the I'm joining
the Jets gang. I'm I'm saying they are gonna win
the AFC East. This is the year that the Buffalo
Bills rain ends. Sign me up for the heartbreak, but

(52:39):
I'm with it.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
Okay, agree to disagree, Let's move to the AFC West.
This is a no brainer for me. Chiefs are going
to run away with with the AFC West. Mahomes is
that guy. We just talked about it at the top
of the hour. They got better this offseason. The receiver
room got better, Worthy Rice. They don't have to solely
rely on try is Kelsey. Now, they have options, they
have depth, they have weapons to take advantage of, and

(53:04):
it feels like they haven't really had this since Tyreek
Hill left and they're able now.

Speaker 2 (53:10):
To spread out the field.

Speaker 3 (53:12):
The Chiefs are a dynasty, and after watching Game one
and what should have been kind of the top competition,
possibly the toughest competition for them, they won Game one
right out of the gates.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
Listen, Alex, I have to applaud us. We've gone over
an hour into this show and we have not once
said the name Taylor Swift.

Speaker 3 (53:31):
So first of all, I just had to I just
I for sure thought you were going to do it
in the dude, Okay, he was waiting for you.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
Well, I know, I know, but there were other ones
that I wanted to get to. But listen, everything you
just said about Kansas City, I believe the Chiefs are inevitable, yeh,
and I really would love to see them make history
this year. Like the man on your shirt, like the
man on my shirt? What wants the best one? The
next one?

Speaker 1 (53:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (53:56):
No, a little Nick's wearing Tom Brady after he won
Super Bowl in Tampa Bay and was drunk on avocado
tequila and is getting carried out.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
This is the feeling you live for and you throw.
I work for the Euphouria. Yeah, a super Bowl. This
is a man unhinged, unbothered and well deserved. I love
so listen. I I like and love what Kansas City
has established. I also loved seeing Taylor Swift strut and
look fully confident in her moment.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
I'm did you hear Patrick Mahomes talk about her in
his pregame interview? There was like a pre tape pregame
interview and he was like, yeah, she's like really football savvy.
She was like, ask a lot of great questions. I
think we're gonna have to run a Taylor's Swift play
this year.

Speaker 2 (54:40):
I'm intrigued to see how this continues to unfold. And Yep,
Kansas City until they're dethroned, I will not doubt them.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
Yeah, the back to back champs looking for a three
p CHEVP the chief p ooh like that.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
Okay, let's move to the AFC North, where.

Speaker 3 (55:01):
Odds right now have Bengals and Ravens tied at plus
one forty five to win it.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
My pick is going to be the Ravens.

Speaker 3 (55:11):
I'm hoping Thursday Night's game lit a fire in their
bellies because they had.

Speaker 2 (55:15):
Every opportunity to win that game.

Speaker 3 (55:18):
But again, I'm say it again, the Chiefs and Mahomes
right now live rent free in Lamar Jackson's head. Whatever
the mental block is, he just cannot seem to get
over that hump.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
Now he has the talent, he has.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
The ability to go head to head, but those last
thirty seconds where you can make it or break it,
we saw what happens and he did not make it
like it did not happen. I still have faith that
this team can make a deep playoff runt, and if
they do, they will meet the Chiefs again in the postseason, because,
as you said, the Chiefs are inevitable and they were
built for the postseason and they are going to go deep.

Speaker 2 (55:54):
Listen, because you took Baltimore, I'm going to take the Bengals. Fine,
watch out, Fine, Joe Burrow is bad baby, and I
think we're gonna watch him put on a MASSI class.
I mean everything about this man and the way he
has carried himself as a competitor. Yes, yes, I think
that he's going to be on a mission to re
establish himself. Hey, do not forget about me. I wouldn't

(56:16):
be surprised if we saw an MVP campaign from him
this season.

Speaker 3 (56:20):
I'll take let's go, I'll take all right, let's move
to the ACEC selp you guys.

Speaker 2 (56:28):
I am so high on CJ. Stroud.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
I am picking Texas. There will be no the Texans.
There will be no sophomore slump for the offensive rookie
of the year. I'm calling back to back AFC South
titles for CJ. And the Texans also like they got better.
They added Stefon Diggs, Joe Mixon. They are young, they
are exciting. This is a team that is trending up
in someone I would put my money on.

Speaker 2 (56:51):
I want to repeat everything you just said. I yeah,
retweet Rex rex I and I also love what they
did with their passing defense. They bolstered at that The
Texans were ranked twenty third in the league in their
passing defense. So they added a Kuda and Brian at cornerback.
And I do think this is a franchise that is
doing things the right way. Oh yeah, And I believe CJ.

(57:14):
Stroud is the truth. And I think I've seen some
predictions with the Texans and the Super Bowl, a lot
of things will have to break, right not I mean
just just with how stacked this conference is in terms
of yeah, quarterbacks, well, say you're going to have to
defy the throne.

Speaker 3 (57:29):
Like there's like Mahomie again, Burrow Lamar if we're looking
at this.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
And we haven't even talked about yeah, Buffalo Worth thinking
Buffalo is going to take a step back. So it's
just but it's been Rogers. Yeah, there's a lot.

Speaker 3 (57:46):
This is like ifc like has some Mighty Titan quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
But it's gonna be fun. It's like I'm excited. I'm
so excited. It's like Christmas Eve. It is one more sleep.

Speaker 6 (58:00):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (58:00):
We're going to take a quick break here, but when
we come back, who's the w Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
I think it's a no brainer. You're listening to Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (58:08):

Speaker 2 (58:43):
Nicki k sn one for Spectrum News one.

Speaker 3 (58:46):
Coming to you live yea from Fox Sports Radio. All right,
let's talk a little bit about the WNBA because there
has been a lot of debate between Caitlin Clark, Angel
Reese and who should be Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
Now.

Speaker 3 (59:03):
Some have said give it to them both, let them
be co rookies of the Year. My response, get off
your high hating horse and open your eyes to how
great Caitlin Clark is. There is no debate she is
the rookie of the year now, not hating on Angel Reese,

(59:24):
she is an incredible player.

Speaker 2 (59:27):
But it is not the same level as Kitlyn Clark.

Speaker 3 (59:30):
So far, Caitlyn Clark has already broken these records rookie
record for three pointers, rookie record for assists, WNBA single
game assists record with nineteen, and first rookie in league
history to have a triple double and she's had two now.
Angel Reese has also broken some records. She set the

(59:51):
league record for consecutive double doubles and single season rebounds.
But Caitlyn Clark is also carrying her team to the playoffs.
The Fever have clinched a playoff spot in that sixth
seed for the first time since twenty sixteen. She is
the reason they are there, and after that Olympic break

(01:00:15):
month off, she came back even better than she was
in college and that first half in the WNBA.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
She deserves all of the flowers that she is about
to get. Kaitlyn Clark used that Olympic break as the
de facto off season. Oh yeah to her second year.
She improved significantly, sane, the tear she went on leaps
and bounds, gave her, the distance and the separation from

(01:00:46):
Angel Reese and Alex. You mentioned the numbers. I want
to talk about what she has carried as a woman
and an athlete. Oh, it's insane, on and off the court,
It's insane. I last I spoke with Caitlyn was after
their first win with the Indiana Fever, and there was
a lot made. It was about five games into the season,
the Fever were scoreless, A lot made about Fevers, Caitlin's leadership,

(01:01:11):
and yeah, but they were playing like the hardest teams
of the league, back to backs exactly exactly. And the
demeanor she carried then is the demeanor she carries now
as a young woman who just wants to win and
who is obsessed with the game of basketball. Not to
mention the media obligations she had as a rookie coming

(01:01:33):
in and learning a new sport, which, mind you, don't
exist for men's professional counterparts. She was doing at least
three interviews and availability sessions a day, it fielding the
same questions and as it gone on, and as it
went on, just seeing the composure she had and the
grace she had, and now that translating into wins on

(01:01:56):
the court and a team culture in Indiana which is
really setting the league on fire. Watch out. You don't
want to play the fever in the postseason. Uh, this team.
And she's not doing it all on her own. Kelsey
Mitchell's having a great season on Leah Boston as well.
You know, I just have been so impressed. She is,
without a doubt, the definition of a rookie of the Year.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Oh yeah, no, there is no debate, end of question.
If you're against that, Like, so, look in the mirror.
Something else is going on, all right, now, let's check
in with Brian Fenlan and see what's trending.

Speaker 6 (01:02:28):
Yes, Alex and Nikki, we've got a ton going on
here and I want to start in the NFL. And
we were talking about this last hour. But Packers quarterback
Jordan Love there was some fear that he might have
had an ACL situation in the injury that he had
last night in the loss to the Eagles in Brazil.
It ends up being a lot less severe in the

(01:02:49):
form of an MCL spring according to multiple outlets, and
his return is in that three to six week window,
so a good sign for him. Also, the Angles are
trying to figure out what's up with wide receiver Jamar Chase.
He's considered a game time decision for tomorrow's game, and
in the injury report there's also the designation of illness

(01:03:11):
next to his name, So there's that added piece to
the puzzle. In regards to college football, let's go there
as well. Northern Illinois as a thirteen is seven lead
against number five Notre Dame, and this is into the
third quarter, so an upset alert potentially brewing there. Number
eleven Utah at the half a game that could be
seen on Fox Television as a twenty three to three

(01:03:31):
lead against Baylor, cam Rising the utes quarterback ninety two
yards passing and two touchdowns. Number twenty one Iowa thirteen
to nothing against Iowa State in that rivalry game, it's
at the half their early third quarter. Number twenty two
Louisville twenty eight to fourteen in their favor against Jacksonville State.
Also number six Old Miss is taking it to Middle

(01:03:53):
Tennessee twenty four to nothing with about five minutes to
play in the first half. To some of the completed games.
Number three Texas wins convincingly over number ten Michigan thirty
one to twelve. Quinnewer's three touchdown tosses. Number one Georgia
having no issue showing no mercy against Texas Tech forty
eight to three. Carson Back the Bulldogs quarterback five touchdowns

(01:04:15):
through the air for him. Number eight Pence State had
to come back from an early deficit and won a
tight one against Bowling Green thirty four to twenty seven,
while it was two overtimes needed for number sixteen Oklahoma
State in the Mike Gundy led Cowboys thirty nine to
thirty one in their favorite against Arkansas. After the Hogs

(01:04:36):
the WU Big Sue had a twenty one to seven
lead at the half. Seventeenth rank Kansas State over to
Lane thirty four to twenty seven, and Sarahcuse pulls off
the upset of a number twenty three Georgia Tech thirty
one to twenty eight. Is former Buckeye quarterback Ohio State
star in Kyle McCord the Orange QB three hundred and
eighty one yards passing in four touchdowns. And lastly, some

(01:05:02):
news in the NBA. You all see this with no
tell us. Jamal Murray is now in a contract with
the Denver Nuggets. So twenty twenty nine, his new contract
extension Alex and Nikki four years and two hundred and
eight million dollars. They must not have seen what he
did in the Olympics this summer, honestly.

Speaker 10 (01:05:24):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
And the way I'm I am not quite sure about
the Denver Nuggets runt office moves. And they're lucky that
they've gotten Nicola Yokich. Yes, yeah, as a foundational cornerstone.
But yeah, I mean, whoa hitchin Jamal get your bag? Yeah, right, always, right, always,

(01:05:48):
But I'm I'm Brian, Wow, let me pick my job.

Speaker 6 (01:05:53):
Yeah, Like, let that think it for a moment, Especially
with how he played in the Olympics, it didn't seem
like he was doing all too well out there.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
He was a little streaky during the postseason as well,
and that's kind of been the nature of his career.

Speaker 10 (01:06:04):
He had.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Yeah. Yeah, yep, we'll dive into that a little later.
That's cool, said it?

Speaker 6 (01:06:12):
That is it all that to you? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:06:15):
You're listening to Fox Football Saturday and Alex Curry here
with Nikki k We are broadcasting live from the twer
dot com studios in Los Angeles, and it is time
for our next guest. She is the smartest human in sports.
NFL Networks analytics expert, my best friend Gordian Clyde's mom,
Cynthia Freelist.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Cynthia's green right now?

Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
Yeah, Synthy, I love that you start laughing every time
I do one of your intros.

Speaker 4 (01:06:46):
It's great.

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
You're like, can you follow me everywhere and just introduce
everywhere I go.

Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
Okay, let's start with your Lions and the expectations because
they are even higher this year after just narrowly missing
the super Bowl last season. Do you think Detroit is
getting back to the super Bowl this year? Getting to
the super Bowl this year?

Speaker 10 (01:07:09):
How about just win the division? Let's start with winning
the division.

Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
Okay, I'm going to.

Speaker 10 (01:07:12):
Go with I feel pretty strong about winning the division.
I think it's well within reach. I think there's been
a lot of increases in the NFC North in general,
but I still think that the Lions have done enough,
and they did their own homework this past off season
improving their secondary. We'll get a chance to see that
secondary on display this weekend against the Rams, but you
know it'll be that's to me, that was the biggest

(01:07:34):
question mark last year, and they really they spent a
lot of resources against it this off season, so you know,
I wouldn't be surprissed win the division. It's hard for
me to say that. I feel like I'm jinxing it,
but I'm not.

Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
I mean, you did cry when they got what it
was like the first place years when we play out
thirty years like it was insane, no, like she cried
on air, and I loved it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
I loved every minute of it.

Speaker 10 (01:07:58):
Cyndia Hegan, I'm not a Patriots fan. I mean, I'm
a fan of all those, but you know, I grew
up a Lions fan. We did not grow up with
good years. We grew up with lean years. So it was,
you know, very very very emotional moment. Just go along
and finally see them work out.

Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
Cool, and as fans of the game, it's hard not
to love the Detroit Lions. So Cynthia, we all love
your love. Now here's a question for you. Over the
past twenty four hours, I've found myself drinking the Jets
kool aid. I didn't think I didn't think I would,
but when I started just really digging into how talented
that roster is, what they were able to accomplish without

(01:08:37):
their QB one last year seven wins is Aaron Rodgers
in his return at forty years old turning forty one
by the end of the year, is he enough to
get this franchise out of the misery they've been mired
in for years now.

Speaker 10 (01:08:53):
I mean it certainly if Look, all teams need help.

Speaker 4 (01:08:56):
We thought last night with Jordan Love.

Speaker 10 (01:08:58):
Things look different when you don't have your starf no
matter what. But I will say if this this is
a stacked team, and especially once Hassan Reddick figures out
his situation and they are fully intact along that defensive front,
which is what their coach specializes in, they'll be even better.
I love what they did along the old line this
off season because that's a huge deal down a big

(01:09:19):
problem last year. And if Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy,
I think they're a ton of upside and this they
really have the opportunity. You know that the East is
an interesting division. The Dolphins have a few injuries that
they're contending with on the defense, you know, namely Jalen
Phillips and Christian Wilkins is now a Raider and Jalen
Ramsey just signed, but he wasn't there before, so you know,

(01:09:40):
that's an interesting moment to how they'll start will be interesting.
And then the Bills, I don't know what's the new
two new safeties. Matt Mulano's now out there linebacker that
has called the place for years. Like there's just an
opportunity in this division this year to really, you know,
someone to take the leap and go ahead. And Aaron
Rodgers proves this all wrong a million times. And I

(01:10:00):
feel like anyone who wants to say anyone who's a
denier is going.

Speaker 4 (01:10:03):
To be proven wrong.

Speaker 10 (01:10:04):
Because that's just what he loves to do. Penny, Aaron
Rodgers is my.

Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
Favorite, like Queen King Petty, like gimme, gimme more. Okay,
So who do you have winning the AFC East? Then
do you have the Jets?

Speaker 10 (01:10:16):
You know? Right now? I do have the Jets as
close as I've ever seen it. We I have three
teams making the playoffs from that division though, so everyone
but the Patriots, And to me, it comes down to
health because if we can see you, I also need
to see too. His O line prove it a little bit.
I'm not worrying about Mike McDaniel figuring out how to

(01:10:36):
make everything work, but like the guard situation, losing Robert
Hunt through the Panthers. That's a big loss, youth loss.
And you know, Christian Wilkins, he's made the Raiders significantly better,
but it's not very helpful for the Dolphins. So you know,
I just need to see a little bit more. But
it's it's to me, it's it's pretty wide open and
right now the Jets just have a little bit of
the edge. And I actually think they get the win

(01:10:57):
in the upset in Santa Clara.

Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
It's on Monday redemption. Honestly, they need it for the
narrative of what happened last year to now.

Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
Okay, no, you guys know I'm not jumping on this
Jets bandwagon with you guys. I mean, Cynthia is like,
but I do the numbers, Sympia, you better listen to me.

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
Yeah, the numbers really comes on our private jet, Cynthia. Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
The Bills also look a lot different this year, and
Josh Allen will be carrying a lot more of the
weight on his shoulder. Is Buffalo putting too much pressure
on Josh Allen to keep this team, Like in that
championship conversation, I mean.

Speaker 10 (01:11:35):
Josh Allen, I think it is approved. It's hard to
argue that it's not a prove it year for him
in so many ways. To me, not a prove it
and like very good. We already know he's up there
in the very good category, But does he belong in
the conversation for elite? To me, I reserve that for
a very very very small few. I mean, Patrick Mahomes
is elite, Tom Brady is elite. Is Josh Allen? I

(01:11:55):
don't know. I think the here we will figure it out.
To me, the whole Buffalo, the whole all Buffalo season
rests on their defense. Can they withstand losing those safeties?
You know, they were the first team to play, you know,
to not play one snap of single high safety, so
play two safety shells against Patrick Mahomes. That was a
Leslie Frasier construct, but that was what they were best at.

(01:12:15):
That exemplifies who they are. I don't know if I
trust their corners completely. I like Taran Johnson, but if
he's your number one corner in a division like they're
in and in a conference like they're in, that can
be dicey, very dicey, but it's it's it is a
proven hear for Josh Allen, but the defense will dictate
their outcome.

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Cynthia, you are a computer. I am a vibes master,
your self proclaimed. And I've been out at Chargers camp
a couple of times so far, and I love the
vibes out there, especially with it beginning at the top
Jim Harbough. And I love watching him work with the quarterbacks.
He told me, you know, he's feeling like passionate, like

(01:12:55):
unknown to mankind. You know that whatever he says, you'd
want to run through a wall for him. What is
this offense going to look like for the Bolts under
Jim Harbough, Well.

Speaker 10 (01:13:06):
We know they want to run the football, and we
know that they're going to see some running place heavy sets.
This is going to be old school pounding ground like
you know, a gap which is like you know, the
middle of the line, like are you going to run? Like?
That's what they're going to want to do on many
downs to put Justin Herbert in a strategic situation to
figure out how to leverage his big arm best. And

(01:13:26):
the problem that is going to be the difficulty that
they'll have at some point is I don't know if
they did enough on their defense for that strategy to win,
right if I'm if I'm the Chargers and I'm running
the football, that takes more time off the clock. But
if my secondary is suspect, then a team can pass
on me, which is a faster way to score.

Speaker 4 (01:13:46):
So that's my year with them.

Speaker 10 (01:13:48):
I think it's going to look significantly different this year.
I do think they end up probably second in the
AFC West. I don't think anyone matches the chief and
it's going to look a lot better. But until they
kind of, until they show me the their secondary is
a little better. Any team in the AfD, your secondary
better be good because you just can't get out of
like seven of the eight best quarterbacks in the entire league,
like all are right like and I don't I don't

(01:14:12):
even think that there are ten like there are there are.
Let's let's say there's ten really good quarterbacks, seven or
eight of them are in the a FC.

Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
So same yeah, yeah, okay, Cynthia, before we let you
go tell us about your new YouTube show. Oh thank you.

Speaker 6 (01:14:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:14:26):
So it's going to be fun. You know, every week
on Wednesday is going to go through and preview some
of the numbers for every single game, at least the
number two. So if you're like going to plan on
watching games at the bar with your friends. You can
watch a YouTube show and then you can go tell
your friends you can steal my stats and be like,
did you know that does? And who doesn't want to
do that?

Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
Right? You could be the smartest person, like Cynthia's the
smartest person on TV.

Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
You can be the smartest person with all of your friends.
What's the channel so I can subscribe right now?

Speaker 10 (01:14:54):
Yes, it's called Numbers Numbers Game Show. It's this YouTube
at Numbers Game Show.

Speaker 4 (01:14:59):
Yep, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (01:15:00):
Game show.

Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
Yeah, Cynthia, and we love you so much. Thank you
for all of it, just dropping knowledge.

Speaker 10 (01:15:08):
Have fun watching real football tomorrow again.

Speaker 6 (01:15:10):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
I can't wait.

Speaker 10 (01:15:11):
We've had the appetizer, we had the mose boost. It's
now time for the main court.

Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
Let's who, let's go. I can't wait to watch you
tomorrow on NFL Network, Bright and early.

Speaker 10 (01:15:22):
All right, love, bye, bye bye, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
All right, we're gonna take one more break here, but
when we come back, we're making our week one NFL picks.
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Welcome back to Fox
Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here with Nikki k we
are broadcasting live from the tire dot Com Studios in
Los Angeles.

Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. Have
you had fun? Football is back? This has been the
best way to kick off a new season. I mean,
the scent of new beginnings is in the air. Well,
it's like Christmas Eve. Oh my football fans, let's go.

Speaker 5 (01:15:54):
So you know what.

Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
We're gonna end the show with some NFL game picks
and producer Patrick, you're gonna lead us through.

Speaker 7 (01:16:00):
Oh yes, and let's say, well, let's tell you, well, Alex,
we left off with the Cowboys and Browns, and both
you and Carmen picked well, actually you picked Brown's carbon
Cowboys and the Lions were both. We're gonna go with
the Jets at the forty niners, and boy do we

(01:16:20):
got a good one on that Monday night if we
can see it with ESPN.

Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
About that? About that except direct TV and it's been
out the same here. I know, Okay, I'm gonna s somewhere.

Speaker 7 (01:16:33):
We're going to struggle together. It's okay with Carmen's not
struggling on her pick. She picked the Jets. Okay, Alex,
who are you picking?

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
Okay, So.

Speaker 3 (01:16:42):
I think odd Makers and Cynthia are way too high
on the Jets. I am taking the forty nine ers.
It's like they got the deals done. Trent Williams, like
he was a deal breaker. He's gonna be back. Ayuka
is there. I think they start their journey.

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
I mean, this is it.

Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
This is Super Bowler Bus year for the forty nine ers.
So I'm taking them, Nikki, who are you taking?

Speaker 2 (01:17:08):
Listen? I know the Jets ended up getting the edge
in last year's meeting, although it was tragic because of
Aaron Rodgers and the way he exited the game. I
do believe this will be some sort of poetic justice
for the New York fan base. The Jets with Aaron
Rodgers are going to beat the forty nine ers this year.

(01:17:28):
You guys are way too high on this.

Speaker 6 (01:17:32):
Well, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 7 (01:17:33):
Since we're starting off on the high road right here,
We're gonna keep going on that high road with more picks.

Speaker 6 (01:17:37):
We got the Steelers.

Speaker 7 (01:17:39):
At the atl Atlanta Falcons, we got Kirk Cousins, we
got the Falcons, and you know what, I'm gonna go reverse,
NICKI Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:17:49):
Who are we feeling?

Speaker 2 (01:17:50):
I am all aboard Atlanta and what Kirk Cousins is
out to accomplish in this newly revamped Falcons offense, especially
knowing everything that happened during the off season for him
as he signed a big, mega deal and they brought
in his replacement. I think he's going to be on
a mission to prove just what he is capable of.

(01:18:12):
I'm going atl Yeah, Okay, so.

Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
I might not have them winning the division, but I
have them winning Game one against the Steelers, especially with
the quarterback Russell Wilson news that like he wasn't in practice,
probably not starting tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:18:30):
We're probably getting Justin Fields quick turnound who like.

Speaker 3 (01:18:33):
Obviously wasn't taking QB one reps this week because Russ
was named QB one.

Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
So I'll go with you.

Speaker 3 (01:18:40):
Kirk Criusin has a lot to prove in this first
home game, new team, new system training with his replacement,
Michael Penni's junior right behind him.

Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
Yeah, I'm taking Falcons, all right.

Speaker 7 (01:18:50):
Well, I'll give you some teams that are not in
a new system. We're gonna We're gonna go to Florida
on this one.

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:18:56):
We have the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Miami Dolphins and
Alex how we filling in.

Speaker 3 (01:19:04):
Miami, Miammimy, I love Miammy, and I have taken the
Dolphins here. They locked up all of their guys this season.
Tua just keeps getting better and more confident each season.
We heard him this offseason share how much it meant
to have Mike McDaniel's like, just tell him how great
he was, that he believed in him, and now he

(01:19:24):
like feels wanted and feels at home.

Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
I think they're going to go off in game one.
I do too, especially considering the way they exited the postseason.
I think we're going to see a high powered, high
flying offense. Expect some trickery. And I'm part of two
and on I believe is that a thing? Oh yeah,
two and all. That's what the TUA believers call call them,
So you might want to you might want to look

(01:19:48):
on getting initiated. Alex, all right, whether you know what?
I love? Two?

Speaker 7 (01:19:54):
Okay, going on the roll here we got Okay, the
Houston Texans at the Indian app the list, Colts, Nikki,
how we feeling.

Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
Oh, I'm Texans all the way on this one. I
think CJ. Stroud hasn't skipped a beat, and I'm so
excited to see what that offense does featuring Stefan Diggs
and Joe Mixon, and I know it's it's gonna be
a good contest with the Colts. But I think Houston's
a team, a team on a mission this season. Yeah,
I'm also taking Texans.

Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
C J.

Speaker 3 (01:20:21):
Stroud is only going to be better in year two.
They're gonna come out with a bang. Let's get to
the last.

Speaker 6 (01:20:26):
One, our last one.

Speaker 7 (01:20:27):
We got the Titans at Chicago.

Speaker 6 (01:20:29):
Bears.

Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
How we feeling, Alex.

Speaker 3 (01:20:30):
I'm taking the bag anti bated debut in a long time.
Caleb Williams will rise to the occasion.

Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
You take it. I'm I'm with them after getting to
know and see what Caleb's so we go. Both got
the Bears.

Speaker 3 (01:20:43):
Thank you so much for spending your Saturday afternoon with us.
We'll see you next week, same time, same place. Happy
NFL Sunday tomorrow, baby,
