Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
They recommend this to dollars.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Tire iraq dot com the way that tire buying should
be VJ. They say, you know, don't overreact, don't overreact.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
It's only week three at college football season, week two
of the NFL as we're quickly approaching. But you know what, VJ.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I was making jokes after week after week one, Well
how long did it take?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
I would have scored forty points answer one game? Because
they're thirty eight today, right Colorado stayed with a three
to nothing lead over Colorado. Right now, the two teams
that have been blowing everybody out in college football so
far this season doing the same.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Texas right now with twenty one to seven lead in
the first half.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
All miss thinks. Steve said, what is that? A half
one hundred? I mean what fifty? Arch manning in the game,
Quinn you Weers is holding his head there. I saw.
I did see him get hurt right before we started.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
We'll see keep you updated on yours' health and everything
going forward. But I said, VJA, the more things change
in college football, the more they stay the same. Three
weeks in a row, the same story for Florida State.
This is how the postgame press conference ended for Mike
Norvel today.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Listen to this.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
But you know, as we can continue to work and
continue to pour into each other and the opportunity we have, thank.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Should a fire alarm went off midway through VJ that said,
as he's wrapping.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Up, you have to leave the boulding. You have to
leave the boulding. That's Florida State first captain program to
start out zero and three in college football history of VJ.
How are you? I know it's a lot better than
Mike Norvell. Yeah, I'm doing great.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Man, as always, Welcome man to football Saturday, Martin VJ.
All the Fox Sports radio listeners are fans out there,
are always great to be with you, guys, man, But
I'm great. I'm feeling good. But you're right, I'm not
feeling good. Not just Nordell. It's gonna be anybody that's
you know, associated with the Florida State seminole program. I
was watching Florida in Texas, A and M at Texas
and m pretty much hand Florida asked before I was
(02:11):
coming in today. And you can hear Jesse Palmer and
those you guys that don't know who Jesse Palmer is,
He's more than just.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
A Food Network cooking show.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Hos Okay, this is really absolutely, He's on like three
shows there.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Man, he's paid.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Bro, Jesse Palmer is getting the bag right now television wise.
Blonder Hear's hair is always always great, always grey, pristine,
white teeth. Also too very jealous. But also he is
not only the guy that was on The Bachelor. He
was not a guy that was just kind of a
backup at a journeyman in NFL.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
He was a Florida Gator quarterback.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Like he's been in the swamp, he's played there, he's
practiced there, he's run out of that tunnel. And now
he's the color commentary for some of their games. And
you can even hear it in his voice. So it's
not even just like the Florida players.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Just like it's not just the.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Florida State players or the Florida State coaching staff, for
the trainers and all that, and it's everybody that's associated
with that program with the way they're all probably feeling
right now, and it's just it's not good. And this
is the importance of NIL. This is the importance of
the transfer portal. This is importance of having always your
backup plan at quarterback.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Now with the portal.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Now, with NIL, when guys are gonna leave, when you
may be able to lose a kid because he wants
to go somewhere else because he's not playing, these are
the days that we're in in college football. You either
get on board or get out of the way. At
Ax Dabbo, either get on board or get out of
the way. So you say, the more things change, the
(03:34):
more they stay the same. I'll go a step further.
I think I might see the National championship game. I
think I might be able to predict that right now
out of week three because you're seeing the same thing
with the teams that you think things are gonna change with.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Norton dam had a big blowout win. They get a
bounce back today. Good for them.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
It's purdueing the road fine, but Alabama Jalen Milroe, go
up to Wisconsin in a hostile environment and put and
put it on.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
He had a show.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
One through three, four five total touchdowns. Like, no, bro,
we got a new coach. Yeah, we had some people
leave like Caleb Downs. Yeah, but we're still Bama. We
still have a star seventeen year old receiver that's built
like freshman Julio Jones. If you remember what that young
man will now grown ass man looked like when he
showed up in Tuscaloosa, you're starting to see like the
(04:20):
power of Texas right Like last week, we took a
lot of flag being music, Evans Martin and I stuff,
But at the end of the day, they're a better
football team, like this could be their year. They're stacked
on both sides of the line. They have a veteran quarterback.
They got to see what you just gotta knocked out
of the game. See what happened Arch. But Arch, I mean,
from what we know and from what we've been told,
and from the clips and the stuff that we read
and see, Arch is supposed to be the next man
(04:42):
up in all of college football.
Speaker 6 (04:44):
Just had a sixty yard touchdown I saw.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
Okay, So so that answered that question. You know, it's
those are the better power programs right now, and the
programs that are struggling. As we're watching Colorado and Colorado
State and everybody knows how I feel about Coach prom
and Cotton to colorad Rotto program there. But now we're
in a what second quarter here, and it's seven first quarter.
It's given me first quarter seven minute. Markets have changed.
(05:08):
But when you just put the tape on, I'm a
tape guy. Don't let the film fool you. Guys, believe
what your I s. They still can't block, which means
they still can't run. They still can't stop the running
shaders running for his life. That's the story right now.
So we thought it was going to be different this year.
We thought other teams would take a leap up this year.
We thought teams would bounce back this year. And that's
(05:28):
not what happened. Georgia, Bama, Texas. Easily mark two of
those teams in the National Championship Game right now on September,
what are we at the fourteenth? September fourteenth, give me
those three teams guaranteed. Two of those teams are the
National Championship Game.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
All right, let's go ahead and transition now to the
National Football League, because there was a little skullduggery a foot.
Depending on who you ask, last night's Month the Night
football game or last week's Month of Night football game,
I should say between the Jets and the forty nine
ers DJ, I don't know. I'm old enough to remember
training camp just a few short weeks he said. Christian
McCaffrey was not playing in training camp because he had,
(06:04):
you know, calf tightness and achille soreness. So then when
he missed week one with calf tightness and achille soreness, I.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Was not shocked. This set a tidal wave across the
Unite people everywhere furious. How couldn't even Dan Bias in
an email saying that somebody in our guarantee league was
screwed by CMC. He's been hurt this whole time. Yep.
Now he's on injured reserve. Were you surprised to see
Christian McCaffrey not playing Monday night, No, not at all, because,
like you said, the storyline was he hadn't practiced.
Speaker 5 (06:32):
Like when you don't practice, guys, you can't possibly play.
If you can't practice, you can't possibly play at full
stream And We're not talking about two or three practice
within a Weekndess, that's exactly what I was. We're talking
about an entire preseason and entire training camp.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
It's like it's been it's been ongoing.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
So you already knew that this is a problem now
gamesmanship being in the coaching business now, myself, I get it.
You don't want to put out too much information. You
don't even want to let people know when someone's performing
well and practicing looking good. You want to keep as
much as close to the vest as possible. So I
understand what Sam Fran was doing. But they knew that
this could happen because following Tuesday morning, the reports started
(07:15):
to come out where they were denying that we're putting
them on a R. Then it went to they may
be considering putting them on IR. But you got you know,
I'm a big PTI round the Horn fan, and every
panel listen that they were like, yeah, they need to
just put.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Them on IR. Now, just do it now.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
That way, if it's if it's bad enough that he
couldn't play Opening night, then you might as well just
put them on IR. Four six games down the road,
they put you know, put the young buck In more
carries the most carries he's had in the football game
since he was in high school, so not even a
Tennessee did he have like twenty eight twenty eight carries.
You know what was the kid's name against Jordan Mason?
(07:51):
I was about to call him Jordan Morgan. I know
that's Jordan Mason. Excuse me, young man. Don't mean to
mess up your name. But guess what fantasy owners know
exactly who you are right now in the fantasy world.
Is scramble it today to try to find that guy
because it's a Mike Shanahan office. But no, I'm not
surprised he's on IR. I'll be honest with you, Martin.
I think it's the right thing to do. And the
reason why they didn't say anything it really is, Martin,
(08:11):
it's coaching gamesmanship. You cannot let the world know that
the league's best all around running back could possibly miss
the first four to six weeks in the season.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
But I mean we are, so I'm out on the
idea that that's gamesmanship. Like, I understand your premise. I'm
not saying that you're wrong.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
I just disagree with the idea that that's something that
people should do right, especially when you consider the history
of the injury report. I'll take gambling one on one
for y' all the uninitiated.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
The only reason, literally.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
The only reason it's out the injury report exists is
to make the quote unquote sides.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Fair for gamblers. Look it up.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
I did my thesis on this from University of Southern California.
The only reason it exists is to discourage inside information
for better So should Christian McCaffrey have been questionable on
the injury report?
Speaker 3 (09:01):
No, probably should have been doubtful. I would have had
major issue had McCaffrey not been on the injury report
at all, right, of which he wasn't earlier in the week.
If he wouldn't have been on the report at all,
then I am up in arms. Let's burn it all down.
But this this what are we doing? He was questionable,
(09:24):
he didn't play. That happens all the time. He was
never gonna play. But you know it happens all the time.
And so shout out to the Packers for downgrading Jordan Love,
who we all saw on national TV hurt his knee.
To downgrading him to doubt, I got news for you.
He's he won't be playing. News for you. He's not
playing next week either, maybe week four. No, Okay, I
(09:48):
don't you know how I know that because I saw
it on TV. That's it. Same way I read Christop
mccafrey was hurt Achilles. That's how I knew he wasn't
gonna play week one. That's how.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Not because I read the injury report, not because nothing else.
Have to call Mike Selvery, Mike, what's the deal with Seemen?
Say no, no, no, I just I just I just
read the story, read the news. Not only that he didn't.
When you give it a go, that's a different story.
Like Jamar Chase right last Sunday, he was out there early,
he was giving it a go like and then it
ended up playing. But he wanted to get out there,
he wanted to play. They knew the Christian mccavreys off.
(10:18):
But I want to circle back around to the gamesmanship
part of it. The reason why this does happen is
because you want your opponent to have to prepare for
everything possible, even though you may have plans of running
half of what they're prepared for. So you gotta make
it look like that your starting quarterback running back can
go because guess what, I guarantee you they weren't.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
They weren't.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
They weren't trained preparing for this young man. I'm probably
I guarantee you they weren't prepared for him. And that's
why he were Mason page and the ag.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Not at all, not at all.
Speaker 7 (10:50):
Not.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
His name might have been in the playbook somewhere, but
if it's fifty pages, he's on like page forty eight,
forty nine. Oh, by the way, they gotta guy out
of Tennessee. Didn't get a lot of carries in school.
A big guy, fast guy.
Speaker 8 (11:04):
You know.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Yeah, well we'll get to it if that guy gets in.
But these are the guys. This is the guy, this guy,
this guy, this guy. You have so many guys before
you get to him. And honestly, did it not show
on film? You're bum ass Jets fan. You know how
it goes down. Man, You watch the game. It didn't
look like that they were prepared for. Honestly, how strong
this kid was gonna run some of the tackles he
(11:24):
was breaking. It just when you add another guy in
that you did not mainly prepare for, it affects football.
And I thought it worked mastervely and the stats and
the numbers don't lie. But with CMC four to six,
go ahead and get this thing taken care of. Now
with this calf. The only thing about klv Mar's calves
are very tricky.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Ain't going nowhere. They exactly they always have been.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
And one of my little vjaisms of preseason football or
for the football season, I am a firm believer growing
quad hamstring calf. If it starts the year that way,
that's you're gonna deal with fit all season long. Yes,
it'll feel good some days, it won't bother.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
You some days.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
But the more you run, the more you get hit,
the more you get tackled, the more your lays get squeezed.
Just just the more football you play, it wears in
tears and wears in tears. And we saw it last
year with Justin but Jalen Hurt. Jalen Hurd, it got
a little dinged up and it kind of went to
the season. They started ten to one, so no one
said anything about it. But once he started taking more hits,
were twelve, we're thirteen, we're fourteen, we're fifteen, we six,
(12:28):
It's like, yo, he's not the same player. So that's
why You definitely want to get him on iron, get
him out now. But he's not gonna heal. He'll just
be able to play with it. And that's gonna be
interesting to see how much he could play with it
because he does so much.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
For that offense.
Speaker 9 (12:45):
Martin.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Yeah, it's gonna be It's gonna be something to see.
But you know you always like to say. VJ the
bum ass Jets. Yeah them dem d em you got
saying them? Mary loves Mary loves this. We had a
Twitter moment this week about it. There, we had it.
We had a Twitter moment.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
It's so funny for no reason, the fact that fans
were chiming in on it. Lets me know, lets me know.
Whenever you hear them bum ass Jets, Hey, ain't that that?
Ain't that that light skinned? Do it for Fox Sports Red?
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Don't that?
Speaker 5 (13:15):
Do VJ be the big the big vanilla scoop something
whatever he calls themselves.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Yeah, see, I created something.
Speaker 6 (13:21):
When you say something absurd people, I love you.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Too, I love you too here And that's part of
the thing.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Because while J has coined them pardon me them bum
ass Jets, it seems as if a prominent NFL player.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Is almost copycatting VJ. We'll get to that coming up next.
Speaker 10 (13:43):

rack dot com studios. Do you want to join the conversation?
It is up on Twitter. I'm at Martin Wise, VJ
at Big Vanilla Funny. We'll get to your tweets throughout
the show. Uh VJ, I think you said, we already
had people sending us tweets.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
We sure did.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Man Hammer and Hank jumps in here real quick.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Man.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
I love this guy. He tunes right, he must tune
in at like four point fifty nine to make sure
he gets everything. And we say at big Big Vanilla
funny and Mark, Oh, did you change her?
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Did you change? I think he just had a type
of oh.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
Care was about to say, who is Gallegos? Who's Martin Gallegos?
Speaker 3 (15:07):
That's not you.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
But I think Christian mccrafy should be called the injury
hotline after he got hurt in the preseason. This could
be bad news for Niner fans.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
How how bad is this?
Speaker 5 (15:16):
I don't want to jump the h I don't want
to jump the rundown.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
But is this is this bad for them? They had
a lot of weapons? Uh, I think we uh. Overall,
obviously you'd rather have your all pro running back leadst
best run.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Right, Yeah, so you was rather but in the grand scheme, no,
I'm not concerned. Okay, after because there's the thing. You
got a lot of stuff going on.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
There's a lot of stuff on the floor for the
forty nine ers, right, you got we know that the team's.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Gonna look different after this. So you get an opportunity
to see Brock party without one of.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
His stars, see what that looks like.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
You get an opportunity to see if you have another
running back in the fold that you could potentially, you know,
maybe make a trade trade Christian McCaffrey, save a lot
of that money on the cap and then be able
to pay Brock Brady the sixty some million dollars is
gonna cost him.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
But bj I'd be a shrewd business deal. But I
would understand it. I would understand it. That'd be a
shrewd NFL business move. As they say, I would understand.
The game is the game, Yeah, and the game's go on.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
So VD Nick Bosa this week was asked about one
of his teammates, right, and he started the question out
and he started the response saying, yeah, he played well,
but oh, so he goes, yeah he played well.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
But this is what Nick Boas had to say after that.
Speaker 11 (16:33):
This week, I think we're playing a better honestly, a
better team.
Speaker 10 (16:38):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (16:39):
They're playing better football, it looks like, and they run
run the ball well, and we're gonna have to be
better and our techniques we kind of got away with
some things last week. So so yeah, we have to
hone in and not not pat ourselves.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
On the back. You know what that sounded?
Speaker 12 (16:58):
Me?
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Me me, shots fire, shots fired. We're playing a much
better team.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
This week, meaning the Jets stink accord to Nick Bosa,
We'll get to the Jets in just a moment. I
thought that was hilarious, the idea that he was just
you know, taking shots at the Jets. And then on
the other side, Justin Jefferson had a moment where he
kind of took a shot at let me get this right,
den bum ass Jets.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
There you go, mail did there you go? But quickly,
let's before we kick the Steve for the update. We'll
talk about the Jets at the bottom of the hour.
I want to ask you this game coming up, do
you think that's true? Is it true that the forty
nine ers are playing a much better team this weekend?
And do you think that the forty nine what do
you think will be the outcome of the game.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
I think what he said was great when he said
they look it, we don't know it's weak. Yeah, so
they're playing better football. It looks it looks like so
I like that part of it. I didn't have a
problem with him calling this team out. That's called this
is called leadership. It's called because the end of the
quote of you know, not pat ourselves on the it's
code word for like telling a guy on your team, hey,
(18:03):
let's you know, we got a lot of football to play.
Let's not let's not get it, let's not get in
our head, let's not read our clippers. That's what I'm old.
So I know, kids today there's no newspapers for you
guys to read. You don't go to the front door
and grab the sports page to see if you made
the paper last night.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Locally, I get the world has changed.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
But my high school coach used to tell us stop
reading your newspaper clippings. You're reading too much of the paper.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Could read the tweets, yep, quick read it. Well, yeah,
reading the tweets. There we go.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
But they put out their own tweets now, so it's
different paper. It's a sports column is just writing what
he saw on a Friday night. This is leadership, though,
This is this is leadership. I dont problem with it.
I'm not even a big Bosa guy, but just hearing
it now. Thanks for the sound they are in. If
we're hearing it now, I can hear the way he's
saying it. It came off to me as he, hey, buddy,
you know you playing somebody. It looks like they're playing better.
(18:46):
But let's not put ourselves on the back of a little
too much. Gotta think about this guy has lost two
Super Bowls now, so he's like, listen, we got a
long season to go to even try to get back.
So as far as this game goes, man, give me
the I just I think the Niners have a better
football team. I just think the Niners can get back
to the Super Bowl this year. I definitely think they
can get back to the conference championship game. And like
you said, we're gonna see now who brock Purty is
(19:10):
without the league's best running back. But once again, you
still got those guys to throw to. You still got
kiddled from the tight end and this, and and you
still got to run it back to turn the hands to.
It may not be Christian McCaffrey, but you still have
a lot of those other weapons. Defense is still vicious
and the vikings I saw Jordan Addison is out, so
that's a factor in this game too, so not to
give any spoils away on picks. I think the Niners
(19:30):
can go in and get this and go to two
and O. I like them to put about I would
say maybe twenty four to twenty seven points on the
board because the Vikings do field a really good defense
with Brian Floorest of their defensive coordinator. And as I
mentioned on the show plenty of times before that the
best win rate as far as blitzing its concern the
last year's the nfls that are gonna come after.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Party rush win rate.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Yeah, three times fast, because I can't say it one time,
slast hold, I'll say what again? That too, because you
said they're the great win rate with the blitz. The
act thame with the stat is past rush.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
Yeah no, no, actually gives me a verbal ass kicking
every time. Yeah no, I'm not even gonna try that,
But no, there is there is. I'm not gonna try it,
but there is. There's a category key for that's past rush.
But when you blitz, he's a blit. He's he's a
blitzing defensive quarter. He sends guys after you remember the
Titans yea, yeah, also real too, man sidebar shout out
Van Ginkel leaves the Dolphins for the money, goes there,
(20:23):
scores a touchdown last like he fits right back kid
and Flores was the guy that had him when he
came into the League of Miami, so shout out to him.
But I think the defense shows up. Going on the
road is gonna be tough. But I told you I'm
off the brock pretty like hate train I am. I'm
starting to kind of like the kid a little bit,
so I would like to see him go on the
road without his star running back, use his other weapons,
play a tough contested game. Give me like twenty six
(20:46):
to twenty three. This could be the game of the
day tomorrow. There's a short list of a lot of
games that are the games of the day.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
But you know the question. Here's the thing, though, this
is one of them. I think we'll get Vjay's take
on this after the day. I think that we're in
the world now, all right. If you're if you're driving,
you should have re sheep out buckled, but double check
it before it right now, make sure everything is safe.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
I think we're in a world right now where Sam
Darnald is going to outplay Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
You guys are trying to miss me up and get
me going. I think that where Sam Donald, former forty
nine ers backup quarterback of last year, familiar with that defense,
was running scout team the whole time. He knows everybody
over there knows, knows the whole situation, the whole plan.
You combine that with Minnesota playing a beating San Francisco
(21:46):
last year without Justin Jefferson. Yep, they did.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
No Christian McCaffrey, no CMC. Stranger things have happened. All right,
we'll give you days on that in just a moment. First,
we'll kick it over to Steve the Sega.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Steve, what's going on? My friend? What's up? Steve?
Speaker 7 (22:05):
Good evening to you both, said arch manning off the
bench for Texas through a touchdown on his first play
of the game. It is now the number two ranked
Longhorns at home, leading late first half twenty eight to
seven over Utsa. The injury to the starting quarterback, Quinn
Yours called an unidentified injury but awkward at the moment.
He was running down the field not well after completing
(22:26):
a long pass and then went down on the turf
after a handoff. So when the starter came out of
the injury tent, yours then just walked to the locker
room towel overhead. Texas is leading at home, Oh thirty ten.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
I got a question about the owner operations there.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
So he went down early, stayed up, played an another
play and andoff and then fell non contact.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Yeah okay, And.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
Then it comes out of the tent with the towel
over his head because I saw the fault.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I didn't realize you played another play. That's tough. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (22:58):
So we've got number one in action tonight as well,
and George is getting shut out three nothing at Kentucky
at the end of the first quarter. Carson Beck has
fourteen yards passing in the first quarter. Trevor etn five
carries eleven yards rushing for the Bulldogs so far. Number
seven Tennessee is a huge favorite at home tonight. They're
already leading late first quarter twenty three nothing against kent State.
(23:21):
Number five Ole Miss with a halftime lead at wake
Forest twenty three to six. Tenth rank Miami's had a
long day with the weather there. Just starting the fourth quarter,
Hurricanes forty one to nothing over ball State and number
twenty three Nebraska leads fourteen to three against Northern Iowa
early in the second quarter. Memphis is three and oho.
It won at oh to three Florida State twenty to twelve.
(23:43):
Seth Henigan is thrown a touchdown pass in forty straight
games for the Tigers. This is a sign of the
times type stat on that broadcast today that the Memphis
quarterback is the only guy in all of FBS who's
been four years at the same school. Texas A and
M won at Florida thirty five, three to twenty, and
Washington State won beating Washington. Yes, they're still playing this
(24:04):
Apple Cup twenty four to nineteen Huskies with sixteen penalties
and the loss on Fox TV. Number four Alabama a
forty two to ten winner at Wisconsin. Six rank Missouri
over Boston College twenty seven to twenty one. Ninth ranked
Oregon won at Oregon State forty nine fourteen victories for
Utah and Oklahoma State victories for Oklahoma, Michigan and Notre Dame,
(24:26):
which won sixty six to seven at Purdue. Sixteenth ranked
LSU a thirty six thirty three winner at South Carolina.
You talked NFL and forty nine ers running back Christian
McCaffrey was placed on injury reserve with a sore calf
and achilles tendonitis, so he'll miss at least the next
four games. Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison is out against
San Francisco with an ankle injury. Packers quarterback Jordan Love
(24:49):
was downgraded to doubtful with the spring to mcl Chiefs
wide receiver Marquise Brown will have shoulder surgery on Monday.
He could miss the regular season. Kansas City host Cincinnati
on Sunday. BEng wide receiver t Higgins was doubtful for
tomorrow with his bad hamstring. In baseball today, Boston beat
the Yankees and Garrett Coles seven to one, so the
Yanks are first in the AL East, but just two
(25:10):
and a half games out of the Baltimore Orioles, who
lead right now in the bottom of the ninth for
nothing at Detroit. It's the Reds up nine to one
at Minnesota at the end of four and the first
place team in the AL Central. The Cleveland Guardians are
in action as well. In fact, the three teams vying
for the lead there Kansas City, Cleveland, Minnesota Kansas City one.
(25:32):
It's game five to one at Pittsburgh. Cleveland has won
six to one over the Rays, and Philadelphia beat the
Mets six to four. Mets short stuff Francisco Lindor did
not play after coming out of last night's game with
sore back.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
Back to you, thanks Steve, and I want everybody here
to hold me to this because I'm not doing it
again this football season. I am not passing up the
opportunity to bet against Georgia in the first quarter, in first.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
Half, don't do it. I don't know why you you're betting.
Betting guy, I don't know why you're late to the
train on that one man.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
They have started slow. That's money for you every single
damn game of the last two twenty four months.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
Yea, I was about to say, don't just say this year.
We watched games last year here in studio on Saturday
night doing our radio show, and we're watching Georgia like
what's going on?
Speaker 3 (26:20):
But and then second half.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
Y'all, God, they'll they'll throw forty points on you. They
have that type of talent. But you know what's alarming
about that is real champion, championship type teams. They don't
they they start from the jump. They don't warm up
once again. Put the Bama Wisconsin game on today. I
thought Wisconsin had a shot. I didn't think they'd beat Bama,
but I thought they had a shot. But it was
(26:42):
very clear after about the first two possessions they had
no shot. And it was just only a matter of
how bad was it gonna be? How bad was this?
Was this gonna get the fifty something ten, fifty something thirteen?
You know what's going over forty When you see Jalen
Milro's body language is just the way he's out there
handling his business. Georgia, Georgia doesn't have a man. Also
to look out New York, lookout New York.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
He's got like you's got like thirteen touchdowns for two weeks. Yeah. No,
he which leads all of F five today, all of FBS.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Is this a year early? Yeah, it's different. It's different
than leading in the NFL when you leave, when you
leave college football in a category you're pretty damn good.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
There's a lot of good players in college football.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
I was gonna say, especially when you consider that, you
know you got games like Texas first UTSA. Yeah, somebody's
gonna last year Oregon be Portland stake by eighty points.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
You think somebody spent multiple touchdowns in that game. Absolutely, yeah,
absolutely so. Yeah, Well, Georgia is just I don't I
don't worry about this game. It's on the road.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
Plus, Kentucky's played tough.
Speaker 5 (27:43):
Kentucky hasn't been the doormat they were in like the nineties,
in the early two thousands. They've gotten their program upright
a little bit and had an eight win season, nine
win season. They've been there within the last five or
six years. So they're not gonna roll over. They're not
afraid to play them. It's at home, it's a night game,
it's national TV. Let's go out and give him and
that's and this is what you and this with you know,
againt The're up three to nothing in the second quarter,
(28:03):
just under thirteen minutes ago.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Not to mention Brock vander Griff, which is you know,
I don't have the running list, but one of the
best names in.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Sports, Brock vander Griff.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Yeah back, former backup quarterback for Georgia, now starting for Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Yeah, he can't.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
He can't suck with a name like that, With a
name like that, you better be able to.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Do something on the football field. I agree, Uh, let's
go to the Let's go back to the Jets. Though,
because I do think that.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
You ask the Sam Darnald question, I want to make
sure you don't forget to bring back up.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
Go for it, I said, I said, justification myft. We're
in the world right now, NFL Week two. It's weird now, guys,
it's weird. This is gonna be hard to hear, but
I think that it's true. Sam Darnald is going to
outplay Aaron Rodgers against the San Francisco forty nine ers
on Sunday, our producer and Jets fan with a rye
(28:52):
smile like he's like, oh f this guy, who is
this thing? Not talking about VJA your thoughts.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
I'm gonna surprise a lot of people here right now
because I'm gonna actually take up a disc on Double
Check Monday night. He didn't look terrible. He looked rusty,
which is expected. But I was watching a part of
the Manning cast, and I love did you see the
part where he was talked about Brandon Nayuk diving for
the ball at the corner end zone and dropping the
ball right and he talked you could see his old
football fire came back up. This is why you get
(29:18):
those contract, get him done early so we can get
in the camps.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
So we did. No da da da da.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
That's what's up with Aaron Rodgers. That's what I kind
of saw from him in the in the San Francisco
game was you missed a lot of all season, so
there were times that he was a little off. And
Garrett Wilson runs hot man. I thought that David Boston
had an attitude problem.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
This y'all better watch out for this kid. It's those
Ohio State guys.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
For some reason, they get to the league and lose
their mind at the receiver position. But it wasn't Aaron
Rodgers's fault. Now, as the game goes on and it
starts to get out of hand, now, I think everybody's
playing bad or playing below their play level. So I'm
not gonna blame him now. As far as Aaron Sam
Darnell out playing him, yeah, I guess you could say
(30:03):
that if you're at home, you're a week into the season,
you got you got weapons around, you have the leagust
best receiver. Aaron Rodgers gonna have the leagu's best receiver.
He's got the leagust best receiver. You gotta run a game,
and you're coming off of a game where you just
put up some points on the road against the Giants
team that I gave a shot at my I think
it was my underdog last week, one of my underdogs.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Man.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
But as far as our plane goes out, man, that's
so that's so hard to judge. And I'll give it
a yes for right now because I think they're better
suited for him to outplay what Aaron Rodgers did against
the Niners last Monday for his game tomorrow. Also, we're
a week into the system and he's at home. That
was opening week, Jets were across the country on the road.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
But I'll give it. I'll give it.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Here's the next logical question to what you just said
that tennesse c may have the worst offense in the country.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Yeah, Tennessee. Yeah, I know what you're talking about.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
Said country when it last Sunday was crazy.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
The Tennessee Titans offense maybe do one of the you know,
I mean, one of the worst we've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Right, So you imagine the New York Jets will have
plenty of opportunity to have the ball and score points here.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
How what wire your level of concern.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
Be on Aaron Rodgers if we see another output like
we saw Monday night, because I'll tell you this.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Mine is nine to one one sirens. The house was
on fire, like Mike Norvill's press conference, Like get out
of the building. They got to go, get out of
the building. It's collapsing.
Speaker 5 (31:30):
I told Ian what I mean in about a month ago,
and we bumped into each other and we knew you're
gonna be the producer coming on the show. I said,
you guys could either be really good this year or
it's gonna just burn to the ground. I didn't really
see a middle ground for the for the Jets this year.
It's gonna be either twelve eleven wins. Are they're gonna
be in like five or six wins. This thing is
gonna fall apart.
Speaker 6 (31:51):
I think we were kind of in agreement there that
it's not really like a spectrum for the Jets this year.
It's either like they're great or they're not, and it's
all hinging on Aaron Rodgers. There you go, and to
that point, I did think he looked good in week
one two. You know it good is you know, a
relative term, But he like he didn't look like he
could move a lot, but his arm looked live.
Speaker 5 (32:10):
His arms live, his arms live. But to see that's
the problem. You have to move. Quarterback in starts at
the feet.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
It's true.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
It starts at the feet, it's true.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
But I think there's I think that's a little overblown
in today's good Like you do need to be able
to move, but you're still able to have field general
quarterbacks like Party is a field general. He can move
more than Aaron Rodgers was moving Monday night. But I
feel like in theory Rodgers can get there with a
what you know, once he starts to trust his achilles more,
he can become rock Party level mobile.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Yeah, I see. I don't see that from him.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
When I say feed, I'm talking feet form, foot point
in the right directions, mechanics they start.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
Quarterbacks starts at the feet.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
And when you're kind of still trying to get back
from this achilles, I always say you could play a
year later after an achilles are in a cl because
medicine is great, right, but you're not back to yourself
until the second year that you're back.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
You can get on the field, that's finny.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
You could play it's fine, but the body has to
get used to because you've been you've been circumventing for
the injury by leaning too much to the left. And
now we saw that with Klay Thompson. Right blows, blows
the a cl and then when he's training coming back,
blows the achilles on the other leg because your body
is trying to compensate. I just I just don't think
that this this defense is gonna come after Ann Rodgers.
(33:23):
They're gonna come after and Rodgers. The answer Martin's question
if it's a performance, even with what I saw Monday night,
are below. I think you sound the alarm on the
Jets period. Oh this just doesn't feel like a year
oh and two or oher and three you got a shot.
It doesn't feel like that type of season.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Hassan Reddick said, I'll be watching off TV right, de man,
what's up with that?
Speaker 6 (33:45):
Like you even know what's gonna happen there? Like you
saw that quote last week. Yeah, some a GM said
they might have no choice but to trade him.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
I know, but that's gms that do this for a
living though, That's why he said it, right, It's just like,
I mean, at this point, you should trade him to
whoever he is going to pay him.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
If you're not going to Davante Adams trade piece or something.
Speaker 5 (34:05):
Just oh look, the Jets want people want Davante Adams
mark back where Aaron Rocht is so bad.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
That's not like a people just want that so bad.
Like that's something that could feasibly happen. If he's on
any team other than the Raiders this year, who would
it be?
Speaker 3 (34:19):
I would think that it might would probably be the
New York Jets.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
Ultimately, I do still think that that is a pie
in the sky.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
He doesn't buy it.
Speaker 5 (34:27):
I think he's traded by the deadline because I think
the Raiders are going to be bad.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
The Raiders are gonna be Yeah, he.
Speaker 5 (34:31):
Didn't buy the I think by the deadline he's not
gonna play nice. He's gonna he's gonna force the get.
He's gonna force this.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
Up out of there. Speaking coming up next. Normally, I
would never, ever.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
In a million years, try to pitch you, you as
a listener, why you should care about the state the
stadium naming rights. This is the one time, the first
time in professional sports history, where we have to talk
about it. We have to talk about it, and I'm
not talking about Staples.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
I never heard I talk about it before. I'm excited
we have.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Not got to discuss the stadium naming rights for one
NFL team. Get to that coming up next, Martin and
BJ Fox Sports Football Saturday.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
They called it what Martin's j Husky coming to.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
You live from the tire iraq dot com studios, getting.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
Up at arms of all wile stuff, go ahead, go ahead,
go ahead, go ahead.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
First, I saw one thing I thought was hilarious.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
I'm not going to out the Twitter user who is
a prominent NFL writer who wrote this, but somebody said,
I can't believe they're talking about shud Door.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
Sanders as a first round quarterback. And I would just
like to remind the war.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
The twelfth pick in the draft this last draft, of
the most recent draft we had, the twelfth pick was
the sixth quarterback taken.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
All right, of the first twelve picks, six of them
were quarterback Dorf Sanders. It's going in the first round,
all right, anyways, picking of quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the Jacksonville
Jaggars play host of the Cleveland Browns, Trevor Lawrence, one
of the highest paid quarterbacks in football. Well, VJ, he
has a partnership with EverBank, who I suppose it's just
(36:14):
ever Bank, right, right? I should said that like it
was the word coming after EverBank, who is the owner
of the naming rights of EverBank Stadium, which is where
Jacksonville plays. So for one game and one game only,
they are renaming ever Bank Stadium to wait for it,
wait for it, people, Trevor Bank Stadium after the number
(36:37):
one overall pick, Trevor Lawrence, who also has an endorsement
deal with ever Bank Stadium. So they will be going
into the trev I guess you know they have these
like the link for in Philly, Right, Yeah, they're going in.
They're going to trev to play this game against Cleveland Brown.
Is my question to you, VJ. First of all, I
think we can both agree this is ridiculous on his face. Wrong,
(37:00):
you love it, I'm sure? And then I am crazy
about this? Are you kidding? What happens? When? What happens
when Cleveland goes into Jacksonville and Trevor Lawrence throws three
interceptions from two pick sixes and they lose by thirty
Oh that's not gonna happen. Dog, I'm with this.
Speaker 5 (37:14):
I'm kind of pissed just to know now that it's
only for one game. If I'm Trevor Lawrence, damn it,
name it this. I'm the man here, I'm the guy here.
This is my franchise, this is my team. Listen, man,
I tell you guys all the time, I don't I'm
not mad at players for power. I'm not mad at
Lebronford that uses his power. I'm not mad about that.
(37:34):
And if I had that power when I retrieved that
type of power, I'm gonna use it too.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
You only get one damn life.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
You don't want to be laying on your death bed
and going, man, I wish i'd used all that power
I have accumulated, do all my hard working popularity in
my life. Oh, because you can't pass it on to
your son or your daughter anybody else.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
It's your power.
Speaker 5 (37:51):
If I'm Trevor Lawrence, but one game, if I throw
for fifteen yards, you gotta name it this the whole
time I'm here. It is the Trevor Bank Stadium. And yes,
those people down there in Florida'll be like, hey, man,
we were tail gaged last week we're down at the Trip.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
You're at the trav Where at the trap a parking lot? Ce, Oh,
we're over and half we're over there to come over
there and see us.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
Man, we're going down to the trap. Look crypto dot com.
You know what you hear people in LA saying? Now
that really sounds stupid. Crypt Yeah, going down at the Crypt.
I'm going to the crypt for the record boo. Yeah,
but I do you know, come on, man, this is
right up my alley. Bro, you know what I'm saying.
You let you have Fox Sports Radio. Tell me they're
not naming his studio then you know the husk for
(38:33):
one show stop.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
Yeah, they said by the time the game case off
one pm Eastern Sunday, work Cruise will have added the
temporary signs.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
Throughout the stadium and outside with the new name. Okay,
So I only looked at this as a bad way, right.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
I only looked like Trevor Lords could go and completely
blow it and then everybody's walking out and you'll see
all these pictures on Instagram, but people doing the middle
finger salute to Trevor Bank Stadium. Right, but the Trive
what if he balls? I want it up. I wonder
if he has the game that Baker Mayfield had last week.
I wanted the yards four touchdowns. Now you can't change
it back, right, I want it. I want it permanently
(39:09):
named Trevor Banks. I'm going to the.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
Owner like, hey, look right, Jaguars fans, right, Trevor.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Banks, yeah, TV. Yeah, I love this. I love this.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
Everyone wants something named after them. Let's not act like
we don't. All right, what do you want named after you?
I already have my answer. I already know a currency.
I want a currency that costs that costs thirty seven huskies.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
You want to come out, you want us to go
on none of these government get the VJ coin. Yeah, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (39:44):
No, the Husky coin, Husky anything. That's my last name, man, Dave,
Dad said, have you hustled for your first name?
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Your selfish? Mine would all about your last name. Mine
would be thirteen to fifty East Hall. That means nothing
to a.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Lot of people, but to if you went to the
University of Michigan, it is the exam room on the
first floor East Hall, right there on Church and South University.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
I failed more tests in that thing then I failed building.
Speaker 5 (40:06):
Call it now though you got. You gotta tell me
what the comment the Weis's room, the room, the West room,
and that sounds good. The Weis worlds.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
You know you can still be successful.
Speaker 2 (40:15):
Who needs call invest in your hust coin. Coming up next,
we'll talk about the elephant in the room. Uh in
the NFL, Martin and J Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
That's right, and we're broadcasting live from the tire rack
dot Com studios.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Tire rack dot com. Well up, you get there with
an unmaxed election, fast, free shipping, freeeridig protection at over
ten thousand recommending this dollars tire rack dot com. It's
why the tire buying should be VJ.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
We all saw it Thursday night, a game that we
were all obviously excited to watch. But Tua tongue of
by Lowe on a rush, would you get a first down?
Lower man ran into Tomorrow Hamley and went down. We've
seen them four with the fence. There's a lot of
layers there, man.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Yeah, but we saw we saw the move we've seen
before with the fingers and the arms and the fencing position.
This being to his first real hit this season.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Uh, you know, we saw, we saw him go down,
we saw him leave the game due to a concussion,
was walking around, walked off the walked off of the field.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
Into the locker room under his own power. But at
the end of the day, we do know that was
a concussion, and after what happened just two years ago,
that's a very very big deal.
Speaker 5 (41:28):
Yeah it is. Man, My heart sank, it really did.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (41:33):
I don't get too emotional about sports. I'm not a
I'm not like an upset guy, like my team loses
and stuff has a bad ye.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
I don't. I don't go into dumps. I don't.
Speaker 5 (41:41):
I'm not gonna start a bar fight over my team. Man,
that's not me at all. Not throwing a shoo in
the team. No, not throwing am not not punching my
punching my flat screen and breaking it over money I
lost on a game or something stupid like that. Learn
how to control your emotions, grown man. That's not good stuff.
But this this made my heart sing. And all I
can do is sit there and I started praying, and
(42:03):
I start praying for the guy, because you guys know
how I feel about my dolphins. But you know, you
guys know how I feel about Oos. Oos is my guy,
Like I haven't had a guy at the quarterback position
in the NFL since Mike Vick. Mike Vick was my
last guy. I liked Cam, but I didn't love him
like I loved Mike. And before Mike was Dan Marino.
Those have like been my two quarterbacks that I fight
to the death, argue to the death, love to the death.
I hope to meet both of them and get a
(42:24):
picture one day to say that the two best quarterbacks
in my life that I love the most were Mike
Vicken and Dan Marino. But this hurt, man, and now
I will step on it because everybody else has steped
on I've listened to a lot of clips and stuff.
The word retirement now does start to come into my mind.
It really does, because at the end of the day,
I much rather see him healthy, and I much rather
(42:46):
see him alive. And being a father myself, having two young,
beautiful children, older daughters, you know they're grown and you know,
doing their thing.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
But I have two babies.
Speaker 5 (42:55):
Man, even at my age of my life, I got
Journey at too and Cameron at four. And when I
walk in the door, Martin's real talk and they see me,
it changes my day, Like my day changed. If you
guys saw my Instagram mayor I know you looked at it.
You see my kids will with me at football practice
like they like they're they're part of me, you know
what I'm saying, like and not everything I do I
want to do for them. I don't do anything for
me anymore. I'm at the point where I want to
(43:16):
set their life up. And he got paid, he can
he set there. They're set financially. But when Mike McDaniel said,
he said to him, when he put his arm around him,
Mike McDaniel knew by simply saying, you're you're now the
quarterback of your family.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
Go be the quarterback of your family.
Speaker 5 (43:32):
That to me was very symbolic of Mike McDaniel's seeing
that and saying, Okay, this this might be if this
guy I'm praying for.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
Man, this is what Mike McDaniel had to take you
after the after the game, during the postgame prescott thank you.
Speaker 13 (43:43):
I totally understand it, and it's not misplaced. I totally
get how that's where people want to go to. I
just wish that people would for seconds hear what I'm
saying that bringing up his future is not the best
interested him.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (44:03):
I totally agree, man, I totally agree, because this needs
to be he needs to take his time. Let me
just say this also to a real quid about the
Dolphin season. If we don't have tour, we don't have
a shot. So I'll mail it in early. Fans can
come in me talk trash whatever. But I just you know,
you gotta think about the man's You gotta think about
the man personally, the person before the football player and
(44:24):
before me.
Speaker 3 (44:24):
Being a Dolphin fan.
Speaker 5 (44:26):
And I just think some serious questions need to be had,
so serious conversations need to be had with him and himself.
I love what Richard Sherman said. If you guys didn't
catch that where he said, you ain't talk to your boys.
You can talk to the owner, you can talk to
the coach, and you can talk to doctors, and you
talk to everybody. When you're a married man with the
family and children, the person you need to talk to
the most and the one that needs to have the
most influence and have the biggest percentage of the choice
is his wife, because that is going to be his
(44:48):
caretaker as his life goes on and as he gets older,
if this persists to turn into a problem. So I
think the R word is out there mark for the
first time for me. I wasn't saying it last year.
I was actually balking at people say it. But I
do think now it probably might need to be a
discussion because I think about Troy Aikman. I don't know
if you remember how his career ended, and once he
(45:08):
got to like his third or fourth Troy was like, okay,
and of course you got three super Bowls.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
It's easier.
Speaker 5 (45:14):
I don't think it's easier to walk away, but you've
accomplished a lot in the league for it to have
it to a guy that you know, twenty six, twenty
seven years old, that's the heartbreaking part of it.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
So in terms of retirement, I do not begrudge any
player in the NFL for retiring at any point in time.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
Nope, I do not hold that against them. I don't
think they're quitters. I don't think that. I think that
it takes a person that has a certain self awareness.
I don't even say that a certain oh words of
friends hit me vernacular. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
The word I want to use is not the one
that's supost appropriate a certain leash on life, like a
certain mindset to go even play football in general at
a high level, you gotta be wired a certain one.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
So if you feel like, for whatever reason that you
can't go out there, do it anymore. Hand up, Thanks
for the memories. I'm good. I'm good if you're good.
The thing with Tua, I think that if it's left
to him, he will play a cord.
Speaker 5 (46:15):
The player is always gonna play, I think overwhelmingly so.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
But we do see Vonte Davis retiring at a halftime,
you know, so various different things well you know what
I'm saying, but rarely right immediately following something.
Speaker 5 (46:26):
There were things leading up to Vante though that. Yeah,
there were things leading up to that.
Speaker 3 (46:29):
But this is what's tough for me. We look, we're
talking about this as if it's a like, as if
it's Tua.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
Either like a binary play and our don't play, whereas
it's not just playing.
Speaker 3 (46:44):
It's also the contract. Yeah, we only really like, we
have to look at this from both sides of them.
To us, i'd a big deal.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
Just a few weeks ago, right shortly before the start
of the season. That deal had one hundred and sixty
seven millillion dollars guaranteed for injury, guaranteed for skilling injury. Right,
that means if you suck, your money's coming your way.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
If you get hurt, the money's coming your way. But
if in fact he is cleared by a doctor and
decides to retire, he will forego one hundred and twenty
four million dollars. Because of that one hundred and sixty
seven million guaranteed for injury, forty three of it's been paid,
(47:30):
forty three of it's paid out this year. Okay, the remainder,
the one hundred and twenty four million, You have to
then play to get that money.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
Otherwise you will be found in breach of contract. If
a doctor clears you, if the doctor says you are
too messed up to continue to play ball, then he
has a right to collect the one hundred and twenty
four million remaining some Now, a lot of times you
see injury settlements things of that nature. Right, he But
(48:00):
long and short of it is he will probably be
be getting about one hundred million dollars.
Speaker 5 (48:04):
Is it Welker going through something like that? Was it
Welker or Eedam and Odaman? It was one of one
of the page Welker.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
But speaking coach for the Dolphins.
Speaker 5 (48:12):
But absolutely, Here's the thing, man, I look at this
not necessarily like do I have concern for Tua.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
I don't want to make it seem like I'm just
whatever f Tua.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
I'm not there. I have concern for to it. I
hope he's okay. I would prefer personally if he would
not play football anymore. But that to me think because
when I watched him lower his head into DeMar Hamlin,
I was just like basic.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
I saw it in the moment, I'm like, oh my god,
what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (48:38):
Three plays before that when he got when he got sacked,
I thought his head hit the turf. Then I thought
the back of his head hit the turf in but
he tucked his chin like he's been taking judo to
do it.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
Very well. May have because we generally we hear that
that that fencing response to a concussion is after it's
on like the second.
Speaker 2 (48:56):
Or third, So maybe it would. Maybe he did sustains
on the earth you're in the game. Regardless, it seems
to me to be evident that Tula Tongue Bailoa is
more prone to the knockout violent Oh my god, is
this guy gonna be able to get up and walk
type of consion concussion? He seems to be more that
(49:20):
that happens to him more than other players that.
Speaker 3 (49:22):
We see, especially in this era. If the NFL just
settled a massive lawsuit overhead trauma, brain trauma, so on
and so forth, this is one in which I think
the NFL, the NFL itself, needs to look at this
circumstance and say, all right, look we because right now
(49:44):
Tula is like the the NFL should step in. The
NFL should step in and say, look, if you in
fact receive what we deem to be a career ending injury,
then that if that's the case, the money that's geting
in your contract will be paid out and it won't
cought against the other team building things that you have
(50:05):
to do. If you use a franchise tag for example,
or like let's say the dolphinsive franchise too, instead of
gave him the long term deal, right, you get the
opportunity to your franchise.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
Tat you get it back. Okay, like you get it back.
It's like it never happened. But Toua gets paid out
that money, he gets paid out that guaranteed, because then
the incentive for TWOA to go out there and play, well,
there's one hundred and twenty four million reasons why you
want to go back out there outside of just the
love of the game.
Speaker 3 (50:35):
He just earned this contract.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
It's very hard to get a second big time contract
in the NFL if he was able to do that.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
Because here's the thing. I don't know if you know this, VJ,
but all the money when you guarantee a contract, all
of that guaranteed money has to go into escrow. So
it's there. There, it's there. So the one hundred and
sixty one hundred and sixty seven million guaranteed, the two
add minus the forty three which is been paid, that's
we're in the bank.
Speaker 5 (51:01):
So wait, wait, it's just wait. It's just waiting for
the time for it to be released and paid out. Exactly,
money's there. Exactly, money's there. Because here's the thing.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
Tua eventually will stop showing the symptoms of a concussion.
He will eventually be clear to return, and will eventually
have to make this decision if the NFL is interested
in having a league going forward, ten years, fifteen years,
twenty years, thirty years from now, you have got to
take some of this power out of team's hands, got
(51:30):
to take some of this power out of player's hands.
It's not like we're saying this guy. I'll put it
like this.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
I used to work with Shannon Shrups, call him all
the time. He would walk around and he would like
pop his hip hop his head every morning. Why because
he needed a hip or place because he had hurt
his hip so many times playing football that he eventually
forced him to retire. Tua is in that same spot
with his brain. We cannot allow that to be the.
Speaker 3 (51:59):
Deciding factor or there will not be football in the
way that we know and love it going forward. And
sometime down the line, football as we know and love
it will cease to exist if we Because this is
the last thing I'll say on this right now. Football,
the NFL, you can see it happen. But there's sometimes
like on Monday Morning, you know, ESPNFS ONE, CBS, Sports Networks,
(52:21):
so they're all gonna be talking about the NFL. But
is good Morning America gonna be talking about the NFL?
Is the view gonna be talking about the NFL?
Speaker 5 (52:30):
They were two years ago he had when he had
to conduction that was world new, that was national.
Speaker 2 (52:35):
And I'm saying that what happens when you see these
moments in these primetime games, the more you have will
be Goldberg and Sunny Holsting debating if the NFL should
exist or not. The more trouble we're in as fans
take this decision out of his hands, out of the
Dolphins hands, and say, you're not gonna be clear to
come back.
Speaker 3 (52:55):
You're gonna go ahead, get your money.
Speaker 5 (52:56):
The only problem with that is, Okay, if that happens,
if the NFL steps in and make sure he's still
paid the one sixty total, fine, But if the NFL
steps in and says you're done, and then it goes
to okay, well you didn't play to get the rest
of that one twenty four, but you've already made your
forty three, that's when players are going to say, okay,
that's when you're gonna have lawsuits. But the only thing
(53:17):
I'm saying is with the cave, I th that guaranteed
money guarant Okay, yah, yeah, if it's guaranteed money paid out,
all right, fine, save the guy. But I still don't
think I still think that you would have someone break
precedent at some point and bring up out a lawsuit
basically saying, Okay, you're stopping me from working. Now I
still want to work. This is my job, this is
(53:38):
what I want to do. You're gonna have it. We
saw with Maurice Claret that wanted to come to the NFL.
We saw with Colin Kaepernick, even though he was paid
to pretty much go away sixty plus million dollars, still
wanted to file some type of luck.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
Well, as long as there's lawyers. But check this in
the judicial cyst. You go work at a warehouse, if
you can't lift fifty to seventy pounds without support, you
can't work there. Like there are stipulations to be able
to work everywhere.
Speaker 5 (54:07):
If you want to drive NASCAR, you can't be blind
hold on, but we don't. We won't hire you if
you can't lift the fifty pounds. But if something happens
to where you can't lift the fifty pounds, but there's
still other things you can do in the warehouse, and
you tell that person they have to go, then there's
gonna be a lawsuit from the union.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
If tool wants.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
To hold a clipboard and talk into the microphone, for
the rest of his Miami Dolphins career and more.
Speaker 5 (54:29):
Power, that's not gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
I'm saying, everybody on the field's got to be able
to lift the fifty to seventy pounds, like everybody out
there has got to be able to bring.
Speaker 3 (54:35):
I feel I do not think.
Speaker 5 (54:38):
I do not think though, that we've seen the last
of two of tager ball Law as an NFL quarterback.
I just if you put it like like you said,
if he gets cleared, he's gonna come back and play.
Speaker 3 (54:48):
Guys. This is just what real football players do. I
pray that we have seen the last of them. If
we don't, we are treading close.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
It is a slippery slope to the end of football,
as we know, so I'd rather to his career than
the game end in general. But it was the first
day of school for some of these NFL players. How
did they do or how will they do in their
next We'll get to that coming up next Martin and Vja,
Fox Sports Football Saturday. Which freshman improves in their second game?
Speaker 3 (55:18):
We'll get to that in just the minute.
Speaker 2 (55:20):

Speaker 3 (55:49):
I don't call it acts.
Speaker 2 (55:50):
I don't care what anybody says. I'm at Martin Wise
VJ at Big Vanilla Funny. Speaking of BVF, do we
have any tweets?
Speaker 3 (55:59):
Tweets? Nothing new was coming through a minute ago.
Speaker 5 (56:01):
Let me go back and look, because I did refresh
it to see if Hammer and Hanks said, here comes Georgia.
I'm talking about the first quarter, first half, that's where
the money is made exactly. Oh no, we got a
bunch of them that did just jump in here. So
let's see what this. I don't even know what it is,
but Harry James Taylor at the hype Man Harry, so far,
this so far looks like Mark Stoops, Bob Stoop's brother
(56:23):
is good enough to help out his brother and keep
the regular season winning streak at Oklahoma favor over youga,
it is not over with yet. They played seven minutes
and nine seconds in the second quarter. Basically, I think
he's telling us to calm down. He's a big Oklahoma guy,
you know, Stoops, the brother that's there from Bob that
won the national championship for the Sooners over Florida State
(56:46):
and Mark Outson. If you guys remember Chris Winky had
that freak neck injury and was ruled out like right
before kickoff, and Mark Alson had to play quarterback and
they just couldn't get the ball to Peter work and
do their thing. But yeah, that's he thinks that this
game's playing.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
It is.
Speaker 5 (57:01):
It's three to three right now, nine seconds going into
the half. Here's Georgia on the road, the one team
in the nation A falls start by Kentucky seven exactly.
You know the snap count fall starts killing offensive line
because you just heard the snap count like you just
heard it. But they're in field goal range. They're trying
to punch it in there inside the twenty. Kentucky that
is has the ball right now, so we'll see what
(57:22):
this game ends up.
Speaker 3 (57:22):
But what if Georgia falls the night Man?
Speaker 5 (57:24):
What if Kentucky pulls this off? It doesn't matter with
a twelve team playoff. I don't think early season upsets
matter as much anymore.
Speaker 3 (57:32):
Nah, but Georgia does have an Alabama coming down the
pike that is the next game up. I think two
in a row would be a tough spin man. Let's talk.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
Speaking of tough spins, it was rough for Kayleb Williams
in Week one. As you saw hivy drop back was
chased relentlessly, but defensive tackles everywhere. Speaking of spinning, he
tried to spin out spin the other way and ends
up taking a nineteen yard sack on first down.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
Not gonna be able to do that and be successful.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
Which VJA Which rookie quarterback from Jadon Daniels, bow Knicks
and Caleb Williams who somehow some way ended.
Speaker 3 (58:06):
With a win. Thank you, will Levis will bounce back.
Speaker 5 (58:10):
Yeah, Well there's they scored on defensive scored on special teams, right,
It's how it is how Chicago one they scored two
touchdowns just quick out the offense.
Speaker 3 (58:17):
Brian Callahan earlier this week saying if we punted on
first to ten, we would have won. You had a
for a touchdown, Bile Hutsman did it so we all
know about So maybe he probably still would have lost anyway,
which one of these three rookie quarterbacks bounce back, because
even though Caleb got a win, I'm gonna go ahead
and say he could bounce back after throwing for a
total of ninety three yards, not in the first half,
(58:38):
that's for the whole game.
Speaker 5 (58:39):
Ah man, I think I'm gonna I'm gonna go with
you know what, I'm gonna go with Jayden Daniels. I'm
gonna go with jayd Now they got the giants coming in.
The Giants surprisingly let Sam Darneld, sorry ass, start ten
for ten or eleven for eleven or whatever it was.
And he was just cooking them, and I gave them
a shot. But I did tell you, guys, and I
want you to make sure your team on this too.
(59:00):
I did say that if Danny, if Danny, if Danny Jones,
if he throws the game away, they're gonna get killed.
Speaker 3 (59:06):
And what did this man go out and do last week?
Speaker 5 (59:09):
He goes out and throws the game away like you
talk about a team that has quarterback, it's you. But
I think that's the reason why I expect Jayden Daniels.
I like the Skins at excuse me, the Commanders. I
just talked to one of my DVV friends the other day.
I like the Commanders at home. With this game, man,
give me to come out and give me Jayden to
have a big bounce back. Washington is favored by point
(59:31):
and a half, so I just don't think the Giants
defense is gonna be able to hold up as much
as I thought they would this year. And Daniel Jones
is just not the guys quarterback position. So I think
their home is their home.
Speaker 3 (59:42):
Opener.
Speaker 5 (59:43):
I like the weapons they have. I like Jayden Daniels
as a quarterback. What was it the first quarterback last week?
The was it eighty yards or one hundred and fifty
yards and a Russian touchdown and a passing touchdown or
some type of weird combination to ever do it in
his career?
Speaker 3 (59:56):
Opener? So me too, I dude, trust me, We've talked
about it basketball. You know. Jayde Daniels is the first
player to ever have one hundred and forty five yards
passing eighty yard Dressing had a touchdown on a Tuesday
in September.
Speaker 5 (01:00:08):
Yeah, while the temperature is seventy two are below?
Speaker 3 (01:00:12):
No, they do it in basketball too. What's clutch?
Speaker 5 (01:00:14):
Oh but in the last fourteen seconds? Okay, well, what
happened in the last sixteen seconds? What's the category for
the last twelve seconds?
Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
Like?
Speaker 5 (01:00:22):
Stop it, but get me Jaden daniels Man to have
a bounce back performance as a rookie this week.
Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
That's a real indictment on the Giants, right, because I
was sitting here and looking at this, and I was like, okay, well,
let's see.
Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
Let's see, all right, what Martin which frecky quarterbacks gonna bunce?
Speaker 6 (01:00:36):
Right?
Speaker 12 (01:00:36):
Yeh?
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
Bo Nick's first Bonnix and the Broncos well, you know
he's got Sean Payton got a good off it got
some weapons around their courtland someton said he's figuring out.
Oh well, hold on a minute.
Speaker 5 (01:00:44):
They play played okay last week they could have won, No,
but yeah, but it's like whoa they played the Steelers.
Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
TJ. Watt.
Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
You saw him climbing up Kirk cousins back several times
a week one. That's just that Mikan Fitzpatrick concerning all right,
then you got the Bears in.
Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
The text about that game too.
Speaker 5 (01:01:00):
You me and Ian before we came on air, we
talked about the Falcons and what they would need to do,
and then you get the Bears and the Texans.
Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
And the Texans Derek Stingley did not have a great
week one. You expect him to bounce back. Reigning defensive
Rookie of the Year to mekran CJ Stroud, I think
will play better, but a blow of Bears out them on.
Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
But I think I think J Stroud, I mean I
think I think Kayler Bills will play better. Now that's
like saying North Dakota's winter is warmer than Antarcticle exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
I do think he'll play back. I think bow Knicks
will play better as well.
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
But if I had to pick one with a dot
to get a win, it would be the Washington Commanders.
Jaydon Daniels, because if nothing else, you got bow Nicks
playing better against that Stiller defense. I think he plays
better than he did we one, but I'm not saying
he's gonna light everything up. I think Jaydon Daniels has
potential to run for like one hundred and sixty five yards. Yes, absolutely,
(01:01:56):
especially once he gets outside is dealing with those linebackers.
Speaker 3 (01:01:59):
Good New York, Good luck New York. He's his favorite.
Bob abomost to touchdown to mart Beers don't have a shot.
I'll say the thing about Jaydon Daniels. If he could
stay healthy all year, Yeah, I thought I was clamoring
for kallables with Rookie of the Year that rushing total.
If he if he runs like this, well runs a
little left in this, and stays healthy all year, it's
(01:02:19):
gonna be his in a lance where you think he
got right, I got it. If he like you said,
if this.
Speaker 5 (01:02:24):
Is just a glimpse of him moving, he's gonna run
for about seven hundred yards bro like six because it's
not gonna he's never gonna turn it off.
Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
But this is who he is.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
We had and again obviously just won four quarters pro
action so far, and it was against Todd Bowles, who's
been calling the defenses in this league for quite some time.
But uh, he's gonna have to win from the pocket more.
But if he runs like this, Cancels, He'll keep him
in every game. He'll keep him in the game. If
he runs like this, they'll keep him in. I mean
they just ran into a bus saw No who knew Baker?
(01:02:52):
Who knew who kicked a Bengo car? With Baker going
for four hundred plus and four tuddies, somebody pulled that
card for me, No, nobody did. Speaking of Baker, we
will talk about the Baker Mayfield and Ten Bay Buccaneers
coming up next.
Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
But first, Steve de Seger arch Manny will he got Steve?
Speaker 7 (01:03:10):
Yeah, we had the injury for the starting quarterback of
Texas Number two long Horns are hosting Utsa. At late
third quarter, it's the home team of forty two to seven.
In this game, the starting QB quinn Ewers exited because
of a strained abdomen. And yeah, our spanning is doing okay,
thank you. Off the bench seven of ten passing one
(01:03:31):
hundred and seventy five yards three touchdowns through the air.
He also has a sixty seven yard touchdown run, longest
TD run by a quarterback at Texas since Vince Young
almost twenty years ago. It is halftime and Kentucky at
home Leeds number one Georgia six to three the Georgia Bulldogs.
Carson Beck just thirty two yards passing in the first
(01:03:52):
half five of eleven. Trevor ETN nine carries twenty six
yards in the first half for Georgia. Tennessee rank seventh
is a huge favorite at home tonight, not quite to halftime.
The Valls League Kent State fifty eight to nothing. Nebraska
over Northern Iowa late third quarter twenty one to three,
and early fourth quarter it is Number five Old miss
(01:04:14):
Head thirty to six at wake Forest. Also in progress.
Georgia State leads Vanderbilt late third quarter twenty two to ten,
and it's now Sam Houston over Hawaii twenty four to
thirteen late in the third Earlier today, Number sixteen LSU
Gota win at South Carolina thirty six thirty three. Memphis
won at Florida State, Texas A and M one at Florida,
(01:04:36):
Washington State one at Washington, Oregon one at Oregon State

Wisconsin forty two to ten. Packers quarterback Jordan Love was
downgraded to doubtful with the spring to MCL forty nine.
Ers running back Christian McCaffrey was placed on injured reserve.
Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown will have shoulder surgery on Monday.
He could miss the regular season Philadelphia White Out. AJ
(01:04:59):
Brown missed practice and is questionable for Monday with a
bad hamstring. About two weeks left in the regular season.
The Dodgers starting pitching staff is a genuine concern at
this point. They are down ten to one to the
Atlanta Braves in the bottom of the seventh and shortstop
Miguel Rojas is on in relief, his first pitch of
the night at forty one miles per hour. The Dodgers
(01:05:21):
currently have seven starting pitchers on the injured list. They
would not have enough starters for just a best of
five division series at this point. And the way the
Brewers keep winning, who's to say the Dodgers will be
avoiding the wildcard?
Speaker 3 (01:05:35):
Red exactly? Exactly? Who say that they're not going to
play in the wildcard?
Speaker 7 (01:05:42):
The Dodgers have eighty seven wins, Brewers are about to
get win eighty six. They're up twelve nothing at the
Diamondbacks and it's only top of the fifth. Cubs lead
to nothing at Colorado bottom of the sixth. Wow, the
Twins are down big all night. It's Red's eleven to
one over Minnesota bottom of the eighth red scored nine
times in the fourth inning. The Chicago White Sox have
(01:06:03):
a record of thirty three and one fifteen and they're
winning tonight in the eighth inning, five to three over
the Oakland Athletics. Padres lead bottom of the second one nothing.
At San Francisco, Phillies beat the Mets six ' four Today.
Bryce Harper with two home runs victories for Kansas City
and Cleveland Baltimore. One Yankees lost, So the Yankees lead
in the al least two games over the Orioles.
Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin and BJ, coming to
you live from the tire IRAQ dot Com Studios.
Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
VJ. You just talked about this. Who had it? Before
we go there? Can I start something real quick? Do
whatever you like?
Speaker 5 (01:06:37):
I want to start something, man, all right, so we
see what arch is doing right now?
Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
Oh boy? Man? Yeah?
Speaker 11 (01:06:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Why not? Why not? Because you know why?
Speaker 5 (01:06:45):
I hear the injury, an oblique injury that.
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
That's gonna take him in.
Speaker 5 (01:06:49):
That's gonna take it because every time you move, every
time you've been, every time you bring like how bad
is it? We'll wait for to get a longer diagnosis.
Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
Of it is an abdomen injury.
Speaker 6 (01:06:59):
But to clarify, yeah, who did I say, I say
somebody else? Guy didn't say anyone?
Speaker 5 (01:07:06):
Oh no, no, yeah, yeah it's Quinn. So he was
fourteen or sixteen, won seventy five two tighties in a pick.
Today Arch comes in seven for ten one seventy five
three touchdowns and the touchdown run.
Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
He looked like a receiver, like the kids got feats.
He's got some scoots like he was moving.
Speaker 5 (01:07:24):
Let's say Quinn's out three games and arches in Texas's road.
Georgia loses the night, Texas becomes number one, and Arch
is like, yeah, this manning thing, it's not just the name, baby,
this is what we do when Quinn comes back. Do
you make the move back to Quinn or do you
(01:07:44):
just go and say, look, this is football, man, we're going.
We're going with the flow right now and there's no
reason to pull him off the field just because you're back.
What do you do three day, let's just say three
I probably would. It depends on how well he plays.
Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
If they just win, I don't think that's he's balling
well there, like Archiball, Arch is balling. You can lose
your job due to injury. Yeah, okay, yeah, arch is bad.
Speaker 5 (01:08:09):
Let's just say at three games, eight eight touchdowns, two
picks in a total of about five hundred and fifty
six hundred yards, and those three games that that Quinn's
been out, I think it's I think it's a conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
I think it because that's what you're That's why you got.
Speaker 5 (01:08:27):
Him there, right, he's making over a million dollars in
io This is why you recruiting him and overpaid an
io wise, so he didn't go into This is why
you got him in there.
Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
And you know, Quinn, you've been a few places though,
like any Hell, it is what it is.
Speaker 5 (01:08:40):
It's it's business. Even in college, it's still a business.
I just I'm watching this kid playing. I'm like, hey man,
this he's the goods. I don't care if it's against
what University of Texas San Antonio.
Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
You put football on it, you can, you can. You
can watch the screen and just tell who could play
and who can Speaking of putting football on, like you
said earlier, who.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Had the Tampa Bay Buccaneers being as successful as they
were in Week one? Yeah, as hand up, not me.
I didn't have I didn't have Baker doing that. I
don't think anybody had that.
Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Well, I think Baker may have had Baker doing that.
Speaker 2 (01:09:11):
And he also had this to say in advance of
the game against the Lions, who you'll remember beat the
Buccaneers in the playoffs last year on their way to
losing in the NFC Championship game.
Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Are there measuring stick games in this league? Are there games?
Speaker 6 (01:09:25):
And they don't count more necessarily the one is there?
Speaker 3 (01:09:29):
You know, PLT, you know where you're ATK.
Speaker 14 (01:09:31):
Yeah, this is definitely one of those. I mean, every
week you got to bring your best stuff at this level.
If you don't show up, you can get beat any
any given week. But this is one of those on
the road with a team that was in the NFC Championship,
where we aspire to be. So it's one of those. Yeah,
you said it, measuring stick to a great competition. See
our guys handle it early on and you know it's
(01:09:52):
a long season, but you know this is we can
learn a lot from this one.
Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
The Lions beat the Buccaneers twice last year, once in
the playoffs, once in the regular seat. In the regular season,
score was twenty to six. I believe playoff game was
much closer.
Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
But VJ the question.
Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
San Francisco definite contender, Detroit definite contender. Yeah, how many
teams do you get to in the NFC before Tampa
right now?
Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
And how does that change?
Speaker 5 (01:10:20):
If Tampa plays well one morning, that would be Philly
for me, and then Tampa's right there. N Tampa's right there,
and then Tampa's right there. Yeah, yeah, I think that's
h never min. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Dallas,
Dallas gets before Tampa, Dallas gets before Tampa. Tampa's fifth
right now. If I'm looking at now, they go into
Detroit and win tomorrow. I don't care if it's closed,
(01:10:41):
I don't care if it's a blow. If they just
go get a dub on the road tomorrow, I leap
them to number three. They would still be behind Philly
for me. I would think, Yeah, San Francisco, I would
think the Lions would take a fall back losing a
home game. The Lions, in my opinion, they're lucky this
game's in Detroit, cause if it's in Tampa, I think Tampa.
I'm picking Tampa. I would like to see tam to
go win. Vegas think something is seriously up here. It's
(01:11:02):
over a touchdown edge right now, as DraftKings has it
seven and a half. That's that's a that's ay. So
they don't think this is close, right seven and a half.
They don't think this game is closed. They think they
think Detroit wins this game. Hen took money on Detroit
throughout the week because the line was seven. Yeah, and
now they ticked up a half a point, so they
have to beat them by more than a touchdown. And
(01:11:23):
if you go back to the last week's Sunday night game,
the Rams are the Rams. Probably in my opinion, the
Rams gave the game away. I thought the Rams beat them.
I thought the Rams would a better team on the field.
I thought they played back and that was with pookin
the coop getting knocked out of the game.
Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
But but you gotta finish games. That's the thing about football.
Speaker 5 (01:11:40):
You gotta play until it's the last last zero zero
zero zero on the on the on the clock, because
if a zero zo zero on the clock, like it
was Sunday night, you go to overtime if the game
is tied, so it's you gotta played all the way out.
And I thought they fell short of that, but this
is one of those games. Does this qualified, assuming it
does qualifies as one of your games tomorrow, you definitely
have on one of your three or four TVs making
(01:12:02):
sure you get this.
Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
Whole game in. Uh yeah, this one.
Speaker 5 (01:12:06):
The Niners and Vikings, so those two, those two are
locked in games. But I think they got a chance
to go in here and win this game.
Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
Baker.
Speaker 5 (01:12:12):
How about a guy man who people really did right off?
And it seemed like Cleveland does this to quarterbacks honestly, right, Cleveland,
if you can get out of there, you might be
all right. If you can get if they draft you,
if you can get out of Cleveland in the next
three to four years your career, you might be a
You might get saved. But I also think I like
the way Baker. I like his moxy and his leadership.
Speaker 14 (01:12:32):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (01:12:33):
He wasn't bragging there, he said he was real. That's
the This is a This is a measuring stick game.
It's not oh no, it's just another game, bull bs. No,
we got to beat this team. They were in the
NFC Championship game last year. Why when we want to
measure ourselves against them. This is a measure stick game.
Speaker 3 (01:12:48):
People give like Cleveland a rough time. How could you
possibly move on from Baker Mayfield? Don't you see it?
Through four touchdowns last week?
Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Well, okay, it's not as simple plithtick as you Twitter
users would like to think. All right, I think what
you ended up happening was both. Baker Mayfield got a
level of humility which occurred after having some struggles in
the NFL, and then reached another level of success the
starting well did the playoffs with Cleveland. But I'm saying
(01:13:19):
I think he had, like, in the words of Gucci man,
had a little bit too much dip on his chip.
Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
Right had a little too much dip on his hip.
Gucci Right as a rookie had a little bit too
much going on a little bit. Remember when Baker tried
to run all the time. It's like, yo, you just
stand in the pocket. You only run to the right.
You can't do it. It's not what you do. Great commercials, commercial,
all the commercials, all of that. Right has his struggles.
(01:13:44):
I mean, gotta think about this. This guy, now, God,
don't get me wrong, got on a hundred million dollars
contract guaranteed from the Tampa Buccaneers. Hats off more Prower
to you. Glad you bounced back up to the top.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
But there was a point in time where Baker Mayfield
was playing Scout team defensive end. Yeah, okay, So like
I think he has taken his lumps and bruises and
now has a new appreciation of where he is in
with the Bay.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
It's called growth. But I don't know if that happens
in Cleveland. That's not Cleveland's fault, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:14:09):
But Tim, but you can name them all, Tim Couch,
like you could just go through the times where we thought, okay,
they got a guy with the shan like, it's really
just what is up with this franchise in the city.
When it comes to quarterbacks, you gotta go back, and
I know Steve knows it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
You gotta go back to Bernie Coolezar you know, for it.
Speaker 5 (01:14:28):
Guy now had them in the AFC Championship games until
there was a guy from Stanford by the name of
John Elway that just said, hell, here hold ninety eight yards, here,
hold my beer.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
I'll be right back.
Speaker 10 (01:14:38):
Let me go.
Speaker 3 (01:14:39):
Mark's down the field.
Speaker 5 (01:14:40):
It just feels like, if you can get out of there,
if you can get out of Cleveland, you'll be all right.
You'd be all right, man, Miles Garrett. I gavehim another
year or two for he's like I want out. We
got a tweet her from a g O one C
or a G A one C. Davis Warren looked like
Tom Brady today.
Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
Og A one C. I'm here to tell you shut
to tell you this.
Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
Tom Brady in a wheelchair with with sunglasses on wouldn't
look better than Davis Warren at his best.
Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
But coming up next, we have at Rams Versus Cardinals edition.
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
Martin and BEJ coming to your life on the Tireck

such a warm welcome. I know what your weird ass hants.
Speaker 3 (01:15:34):

Speaker 6 (01:15:36):
So last week it was Javon Kinlaw with a special
Jets Versus Niners edition of Who You Got. This week,
we're sticking with the same theme of it being one game,
so we're sticking to Rams Cardinals. Okay, that's the Fox
Game of the Week. This, you know, sticking to our
our guys at Fox, Rams Cardinals edition?
Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
Who you Got?
Speaker 6 (01:15:56):
So this player played college football at the u University
of Georgia is the only hint so far anyone off
that soul hint.
Speaker 5 (01:16:06):
Man, I could just start naming guys. I think I'm
gonna I think I'm gonna get this because George is
one of my crush teams.
Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
Man, So I think I'm gonna get this. Rams Cardinals?
Who you Got?
Speaker 6 (01:16:14):
Or you can wait for another clue. I'm waiting for
another clue.
Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
I'm not it's are you serious? It's Todd Curly. You
saw it, you saw damn it? All right, Well don't.
Speaker 15 (01:16:26):
Dude, I just put the music up to like I
je posted out Mary Matt taking shot.
Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
That's so disappointing. Man, don't do that. Don't do that.
Don't try to challenge. Okay, Mary, you coming, No, this
is your due, this is your man, this is what
you're supposed to do. Smooth in five seconds? Go ahead,
(01:16:54):
all right?
Speaker 6 (01:16:55):
Do you do you want to hear what the other
pints were for Todd Gurley or should we just jump
right in?
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
I got it, all right.
Speaker 6 (01:17:01):
This guy attended Bellevue High school in Washington, Bellevue High School.
Speaker 5 (01:17:06):
In Washington, Rams Cardinals, Cooper Cup. No, damn it, that
was a good one because he went the Eastern. He
went to Eastern. I called one of his games too
ones for Big Sky.
Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
Bellevue, Washington.
Speaker 6 (01:17:29):
No. See now I'm sitting here looking at the todgirl.
He clues, I should have started with you as a
former top ten overall pick.
Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
That a great first question.
Speaker 8 (01:17:37):
A right, anyway, your son, Oh my goodness, horrible, You're horrible.
Speaker 6 (01:17:53):
I'm signing off. I'm signing off, guys, I'm signing off.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
See you next week. We'll see.
Speaker 15 (01:17:59):
I know it was all upset that he even acting
clipped out two minutes. You guys, what did this yell?
You say, no minute man.
Speaker 6 (01:18:14):
That was the point of it being Rams Cardinal's edition
to segue you guys into a conversation about the game.
Let's move on.
Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
This is all right. So that's the worst whatever it is,
one of the worst. It is, you, guys.
Speaker 6 (01:18:28):
I don't think you guys would have got Booda Baker
had I not just let it slip.
Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
That's the crazy part of the thing is though I
would have, guys, he was gonna be my next guest
was my first one, and that I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:18:39):
He went, He went, yeah, we never guess what. We
never would know. So we're just gonna live with our
story and the listener. The listeners know that you gave
really bad.
Speaker 6 (01:18:46):
Should This was probably like a minute of who you got?
The amount of blows I'm taking right now. I beat
you guys every show I've been on so far. So
that's like double you can that's two, okay, two to one.
I'm winning, But you also have this all you can't.
But all right, but you also own goal like you
I kind of like, I kind of like pissed off.
Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
Go with this, go with this, go with this. Yeah.
But yeah, but he's man because he dropped back and
throw the ball backwards. Said, yeah, that was that was.
Speaker 6 (01:19:15):
But I'm taking all these blows right now, like it
wasn't me who shot myself in the fun You guys
didn't do anything.
Speaker 5 (01:19:19):
We welcome to Martin and VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:19:22):
Baby, we are ruthless.
Speaker 5 (01:19:23):
We may be nice looking and all of that, easy
on the eyes. Some dog do you gotta take them?
Some dogs give take I mean I don't have any
problem with it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
Yeah, with some dogs. Husky that's a that's a dog.
Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
You know, honestly, honestly, you're kind of you're kind of
lucky because if if in fact Buddha Baker had been
guessed in this on the second guess you know how
v J would have gotten up and walked in there
and told you how bad.
Speaker 6 (01:19:49):
But you wouldn't have That's the crazy part we were.
We were that was gonna be.
Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
That was gonna be both our guess because he went
to you do from the area, that's what we're gonna guess.
Speaker 3 (01:19:59):
Coming up to Can I do it next week? Sure? Hey,
you know what, find it out back there. Maybe got
our picks and the dogs coming up next?
Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
Don't listen to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
That's right, and we're broadcasting live from the tire rack
dot Com studios. Tire rack dot Com will help you
get there with an unmatched election, fast tree shipping, free
road as a protection, and over ten thousand recommends that
the dollars tire rack dot Com the way that tire
buying should be a quick aside, VJ, I'm really shick
of Matthew McConaughey.
Speaker 3 (01:20:27):
Does he have nothing better to do to stand on
the sideline? What does he coach, the lineman. He's always there.
I just want to know why he always looks so
damn sweaty. Imean, he's in Texas.
Speaker 5 (01:20:37):
They look the other dude right there, not sweaty holdie
right there with the white hat on, that sweat.
Speaker 3 (01:20:41):
He looks sweaty all the time.
Speaker 5 (01:20:43):
And I know this product I noticed is Hollywood looking
all because he's still he's Hollywood, but he still wants
to kind of look like he's just one of the guys.
I'm just one of the boys run here watching little football. No,
you're Matthew McConaughey. Bro, you're like a big time, like
world actor. Get a towel guy or a guy somebody
follow you around and a fan. It looks hot all
the damn time. Tell you what, I'm just, I'm just
(01:21:04):
they had them up at halftime. That's on the Big
newon Kickoff last week. Love all those guys. But hell yeah,
but kind of heey, you can go to hell all right,
he's not even that. But wait, no, no, you gotta
watch what we're talking about before you try to jump
in a comment with no Matthew, but serious, yes, I
hear you.
Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
I'm sick. I'm sick of us. I'm sick of it.
I'm wrong with you, I'm sick of it. You know what,
It's time for a topic. Dogs. Let's go, all right,
how we do last week? Forget us the bad news?
Speaker 6 (01:21:29):
Yeah, all right, so we can review Martin. You were
O for three Commander's over Bucks. You took Panthers over
Saints and Cardinals over Buffalo. None of those were well
if the Cardinals did cover call a great call on
your part. You were one of the few people I've
heard who was really on Arizona that game, and they
came up just short. This wait till this week, Yeah,
VJA A little a little more positive for you. You
(01:21:49):
you were correct and taking the Cowboys over the Browns.
That was your w for the week. The others Panthers
over Saints, Giants over Vikings were both incorrect.
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
Yeah that Panthers, that Panthers pig.
Speaker 10 (01:21:59):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (01:22:00):
Yeah. They have a lot of work to do on
that team. They have a lot of work to do
on that team.
Speaker 6 (01:22:05):
But all right, week two, you guys have been looking
at the lines. Martin, Let's hear your bronze.
Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
I got you my bronze. Upsettler pick right now, Atomic Dog, the.
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Dog Pound, Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns going to
Trevor Bank and make it a loss for the Jacksonville
Jaguars in the stadium names if only for a day
after their quarterback vj euroupe Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
For my long shot, I'm gonna take the Titans going in.
Speaker 5 (01:22:36):
I'm sorry playing at home having them bum ass Jets
come in there.
Speaker 3 (01:22:40):
The Jets are favored by three and a half, but
I think the Titans.
Speaker 5 (01:22:43):
Titans are still a tough team, a tough franchise, and
sometimes earlier hear when everybody's picking you to be so bad,
you kind of overplay yourself, overplay your your your abilities
and get a dub. So I'm gonna go with the
Titans there to get their first up. Give me them
over to just for my first dog.
Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
Room my second in my silver place. All right, listen,
it can't get any worse than it did Week one.
It can't be Chicago fans, that's right. Sunday Night Football,
the number one overall pick somehow starts his career two
and zero. Somehow. After that win in Tennessee, goes in
to Houston, goeshead and beats the Texans, six and a
(01:23:20):
half point underdogs winning outright there you go my second one.
Give me the Patriots.
Speaker 5 (01:23:29):
I love Look gainst the Seattle Seahawks who had the
Patriots winning last week. The one thing that franchise and
I guess jamar Meo did bring is still his toughness
in defensive mind. That defense was shut down and relentless
all last week. You get the Seahawks flying across the country.
(01:23:49):
That's a one at pm kickoff, but there's ten to
eight in for them. Go back and look at the
record of West Coast teams that fly back east and
have to play the one pm kickoff.
Speaker 3 (01:23:59):
It does not bowl well.
Speaker 5 (01:24:01):
Give me the Pats to upset and put you up
set over Seattle Seahawks tomorrow. That's my second dollar. That
should have been my bronze dog.
Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
Right there. That's a good one. That is a good one.
It's gonna happen. You had everything east to west. I
love it. Rookie head, I mean coaching, rookiead coaching. I
love it. Anyway. This is this is nasty. This is
just cuffing. Everybody. Close your eyes. The Bengals, right, I
know it, I know it, I know it, I know it.
Speaker 16 (01:24:25):
I know it the Bangles, I know when there hell
God and beat the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (01:24:32):
Either on the money line, take it right there plus
two ten at wherever you shot. Bro Burrow, Owlns, Patrick
Mahomes three and one against the spread, three and one
straight up, you like the little poodle park right there?
And you know what it wasn't as ugly as it
looked against the Patriots, was to drop the touchdown former
Dolphins side end uh sick.
Speaker 2 (01:24:52):
He dropped the touchdowns. There was a fumble right there
in the red zone for the Bengals.
Speaker 3 (01:24:57):
I know it looked bad. Joe Burrow can he pick
up a water? I don't know, but he's going to
the boroughhead and he's painting the Chiefs. All right, this
one is my last one. This one's tough, man, But
I am going to actually.
Speaker 5 (01:25:09):
Take Sam Donald, oh and the Minnesota Vikings at home
to borrow. No Jordan Addison. So you know what you do,
Sam Donald, You're sorry ass. Throw it to Justin Jefferson
as much as you possibly can, and turn and hand
the ball to Aaron Jones as much you possibly can,
(01:25:30):
and hit TJ. Hockinson and depend on your two top
twelve rated offensive tackles, don't throw the game away, which
I know you're gonna do, and you're gonna make me
look bad.
Speaker 3 (01:25:42):
But I'm having a.
Speaker 5 (01:25:43):
Little faith in you because I got a little side
crushed by my Vikings growing up being a random Cunningham
guy and a raindy Moss fan. And I do think
Christian McCaffrey being out matters, not like a huge Macon.
Speaker 3 (01:25:54):
I got so many other weapons, but I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:25:57):
Know if the Running Game can duplicate itself on a
road of space against the Brian Flores Blitz.
Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
I've got the Vikings starting.
Speaker 5 (01:26:03):
Off two and oer and kind of shaking up this
NFC North that we thought was just gonna be handed
by Detroit if the Bucks go pull off and upset
tomorrow as they play in the Motor City. So I
take me the Yeah, I love the Patriots and the Vikings.
Those were the two that just missed my cut. All right,
let's get into the picks.
Speaker 6 (01:26:23):
There we go, there's the music, all right, Picks in review.
We're looking at your guys' picks last week. So Martin,
you went three and two, Okay, you went four and one?
Speaker 3 (01:26:33):
Yeah for one?
Speaker 5 (01:26:36):
Okay, that's how we start. That's how we started out.
And Martin, wait, you said three and two? Oh just
a game there?
Speaker 6 (01:26:42):
All right, let's go yep, just one game difference.
Speaker 3 (01:26:44):
It's gotta be tight. It's type of most of the year.
Speaker 5 (01:26:46):
There's always a week where things kind of spread out,
but for the most share with our pics, we're only
pretty close.
Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
Let's talk.
Speaker 6 (01:26:51):
Okay, Well, we're gonna start with the Cowboys versus the Saints.
So the Saints are visiting Arlington, and uh, Cowboys are
favored by six points. Martin, what do you think this is?
Speaker 10 (01:27:01):
Who?
Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
The Cowboys pound bad teams going into their bad teams
on the road.
Speaker 2 (01:27:07):
Cowboys pound bad teams on the road. The Saints will
get pounded, just like they pounded the Carolina Panthers last
week of Look, this is gonna be a six point margin,
this is gonna be a ten point margin.
Speaker 5 (01:27:18):
I was about to say, Mayans are very easy Cowboys
about ten plus. That's at home is at home, dak CD.
That defense, that defense look monstrous last week. Man, they
totally shut down anything Cleveland thought they were gonna do.
And once they kind of got the Browns, which is
a top five rated defense, once they kind of got
their defense in check. The Cowboys are moving the ball
(01:27:40):
up and down the I told you, guys, don't sell
your stock on Dallas this year.
Speaker 3 (01:27:44):
I'm telling you scored forty. Derek Carr had twenty doors passing.
I rest my case.
Speaker 6 (01:27:47):
Next up, Next up the Indianapolis Colts Anthony Richardson. They
are visiting the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau. The Colts
are actually favored by three points when Jordan Love out
because Malik Willis is under center. Remember that, So, Martin,
what do you think?
Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
I think this is disgusting. And I think whenever anything
is like truly disgusting, I'll talking about like mayonnaise, ketchup
and mustard all mixed up into one, and you see
a kid dipping his prize. That level of disgusting. That's
what this game looked like.
Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
With Malik Willis at quarterback, Secret sauce and I found
one thing. I found out one thing. When you see
something that disgusting, lean in and taking I'm taking the
Packers into three points. Yeah, oh why, I can't tell
you why.
Speaker 3 (01:28:27):
Malik Willis is not an NFL quarterback. But Anthony Richardson
was nine for nineteen last jiy Alexander gonna catch something
in pick six it or something. Packer's gonna cover this
game in a very ugly, disgusting game.
Speaker 5 (01:28:37):
Nah Man, Malik the Freak is my guy at a
Livery University in Virginia through the southeast d C type area,
also through Georgia. But give me the Coats right here, man.
I love the defense. I love the running game. Malik
was I mean not Malik, but Richardson was not in
nineteen last week. But I think he will have a
bounce back game. They just know the Packers don't have
a quarterback, and that's important in the NFL. Malik Willis
(01:28:59):
is not an NFL quarterback. They're not gonna be able
to just line up and run I formation, dive left,
dive right, pitch left, pitch right, sweet left, sweep right
against this coach defense.
Speaker 3 (01:29:09):
I like low scoring.
Speaker 5 (01:29:10):
I like nineteen seventeen, twenty one, eighteen, something like in
that neighborhood.
Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
But give me the coach to go in here and
get this dumb absolutely all right.
Speaker 6 (01:29:19):
How about Gardner Minshew and the Raiders going to Baltimore
to face Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. What do you guys,
think is the spread. It's over, it's Baltimore, right, what nine?
It's like eight and nine almost pre nine. So what
do you think, Martin I College?
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
This is easy. Ravens off of loss go ahead first.
Then the Ravens off of loss l jacks home. This
is this is a blowout. This is blowout city.
Speaker 5 (01:29:48):
This is thirty five to forty points on the board
for the Ravens tomorrow against the Raiders. Aren't good, guys,
I'm sorry the Raiders aren't good. They better be lucky
that Jimmy Burgers is really trying to just repair the
Chargers and kind of put them back together, because when
they play them later this year, they'll beat them by
twenty points. They don't have a quarterback, they don't run
the ball, well, they don't. Davonte's gonna want out by
(01:30:08):
the trading deadline. The Ravens explode tomorrow. Give me thirty
eight to ten. Yeah, I'm there, I'm there. I wasn't
there before he started talking, but I'm here now. Oh yeah,
the Raven's gonna roll there. I'll say this, Derek Henry,
huge game. Also, remember Tennessee. Ten days since they played,
they're rested a good point too.
Speaker 6 (01:30:30):
All right, So next up, kind of a yucky game here,
the Steelers versus the Broncos.
Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
There's nothing more discussing than Colts Packers this week. Just
so you know, this is also pretty This is gonna
be a very physical game. All right.
Speaker 6 (01:30:43):
Well, Pittsburgh's favored by two and a half. So what
do you guys think.
Speaker 5 (01:30:48):
Give me the Steelers, man, I'm telling give me the
Steelers when they there. The schedule makers really did help them.
They got they listen, they got their quarterback issues and
things like that going on.
Speaker 3 (01:30:56):
We all know about. But when you really do.
Speaker 5 (01:30:58):
Look at this team, it's still might Tomlin is still
the Stealers, It's still TJ.
Speaker 3 (01:31:02):
It's still hey.
Speaker 5 (01:31:03):
They have players, guys, They have guys that can go
out and get it done. This defense will show up
every single Sunday. They're not gonna get blown out of
any game this year. Their biggest march is gonna be
about eight or nine points they lose by. They should
not less the quarterbacks just throw the game away a
couple of picks and things like that. Justin Phields, just
stay within yourself, don't lose the game for us. Let
(01:31:25):
the defense take over and Hey, it's bo Nicks. You
think he's ready to face a veteran still a defense
like this?
Speaker 3 (01:31:31):
No, not at all. Give me the Steelers on this one, baby,
Mike Tomlin is twenty four and six against rookie quarterbacks.
It is, but I'm taking the Broncos to cover. Now,
if you were telling me this, Steelers pluff to an
app all over it. But Mike Tomlin has a short
favorite on the road to I can't find the exact number,
but that's like the one spot where he seems to
(01:31:53):
struggle against you.
Speaker 5 (01:31:53):
You know why you're gonna you hate this. They win
by three, nig gonna listen to twenty seventeen.
Speaker 3 (01:31:59):
This is two and a half point. I know that's
what I'm saying. But you got the Broncos.
Speaker 5 (01:32:02):
You got the Broncos covered, so the Broncos have to
lose by for you to You're taking to Broncos to
cover the Broncos.
Speaker 3 (01:32:07):
No, there still is gonna cover. This is this is
how it ends.
Speaker 5 (01:32:09):
This still is gonna cover twenty seventeen three points. It's
gonna mess up Mark, It'll be nine to seven three
field goal for Chris Baust. Those are the old Chicago
Bears days in the early two thousands, they'd win it
thirteen to nine, twelve to seven. Yeah, because they have
they have such a great deal. No Stellers are Steelers
(01:32:31):
are covering this two and a half easy tomorrow?
Speaker 6 (01:32:33):
Man, Okay, well, the last game we have is a
Chargers Panthers LA is favored by five points.
Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
Don't you do it? Don't you do it? Don't lips
to do it? Don't you dare?
Speaker 5 (01:32:48):
All right, So I'm gonna say this. I love Jimmy
Berger's that's my guy. Everybody, that's my guy. This is
this is honestly, it's a tough one.
Speaker 3 (01:32:55):
This is two my guys. This is like when you
have one angel and which one's talking to you louder.
Speaker 5 (01:33:01):
And I don't have to defend Jimmy Burgers no more,
especially since I watched the Connor Stallions documentary. I never
have to defend Jimmy Burgers again. But I still gotta
defend a man b why Jimmy b Why and the Panthers.
The somehow defense shows up even though I don't know
what happened last week. Give it up forty seven to
the Saints. Man, But I'll go out on the limb here,
(01:33:22):
Eric record scratch, No, I want to be.
Speaker 3 (01:33:24):
Martine's fixed this year. I'm not stupid. I love you,
b Why but Jimmy.
Speaker 5 (01:33:28):
Burgers is riding hot man with the Chargers. Herbert's the
better quarterback. They have the better football team. Caroline has
got a lot of stuff to fix. Think they'll be competitive,
But I can see the Charges winning this game by
seven or more points.
Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
See gonna Charge tomorrow. You're gonna hate this.
Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
Owen won underdogs against the favorite that was also a
week one underdog sixty six percent against the spread. Underdogs
in teams that both teams are winless sixty seven percent
against the spread three to six point underdogs off of
failed cover since two I was at fourteen ten years
seventy three percent against the spread.
Speaker 3 (01:34:04):
All right, wait a second.
Speaker 2 (01:34:05):
Teams off a double digit one week loss against an
opponent who didn't lose like that since twenty twelve, sixty
four percent against the spread. Literally every single gambling number says,
take the Panthers plus.
Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
What is it six and a half?
Speaker 9 (01:34:19):
Not five?
Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
Right now? I got five up Right now, you say
it's I had five, No rams five right now? It
came down. I came down bro Chargers cover. I told
you that we need to Charges cover. Chargers covered them all.
What they're doing many really they two six points. I'm
telling you it's gonna be a close game. They'll fight.
Speaker 5 (01:34:38):
Remember also a West Coast team going back east for
the ten o'clock for the ten for us, right, but
the one pm kickoff. But I think once the Juices
get gone, once you kind of get gone, the Jimmy's
and Joe's take over.
Speaker 3 (01:34:49):
The Chargers just have more of them right now, they do.
Speaker 2 (01:34:51):
I'm putting this pick out there, and I am making
a promise to myself, America and my wallet. I will
never ever again pick Bryce s Young in the Carolina
Panthers to cover the spread. If they don't cover this weekend,
I'm going with the Panthers. Oh, I'm like, oh, you
are over the currenty nine and a half.
Speaker 5 (01:35:08):
They don't think it's gonna be Yeah, So who's gonna score.
It's gonna be the Charges that score. They got the
better quarterback. This is literally I'm making my stomacher. I'm
breaking out in hives taking the Carolina Panthers. But I'm
doing it anyway.
Speaker 3 (01:35:20):
Coming up next, this was the most talked about program
in college football over the last two years. We haven't
seen it on the field yet. What does this mean,
this game today mean for that program. We'll get to that.
Coming up next to Martin Weiss's J Husky Fox Sports
foot by Saturday, the biggest story in the sport finally
(01:35:41):
playing it off on the field. How about that?
Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
Martin Weiss and Vja Husky coming to you live from
the Tirack dot com studios. You can follow us on
Twitter and tweet the show. I'm at Martin Weiss, j
at Big Vanilla Funny.
Speaker 5 (01:35:53):
We'll be answering your tweets shortly, real quick, because the
direct forteenth and d are great. Ohio State fan here says,
Zach Taylor is one of the worst coaches.
Speaker 3 (01:36:03):
In the NFL.
Speaker 5 (01:36:04):
He is on the hot seat here in Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (01:36:07):
So he's there.
Speaker 5 (01:36:08):
He's in Cincinnati, he said here. So he's in Cincinnati.
You're picking him. They go do something big tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
Here's the thing. He's been the coach the whole time.
And I think to og a one seeds point. I
think that's been true.
Speaker 5 (01:36:21):
The wholes tn he's been in hot seat the whole time.
Speaker 3 (01:36:23):
No, that he's been one of the I say this,
Zach Taylor has been a question mark for this team
since he got the job. Okay, do you.
Speaker 5 (01:36:30):
Think that's part of the narrative though, to big up
Joe Burrow? Okay, oh he look, look what jose Bro's
done in spite of that guy being his coach type.
Speaker 3 (01:36:42):
Okay, but here's the thing. So, like, I hear what
you're saying, and I can see where you arrive there.
Speaker 2 (01:36:48):
But when you watch guys who are really dialing this
stuff up Shanahan, O'Connell, Slowick in Houston, Ben Johnson in Detroit,
it don't look like that.
Speaker 3 (01:37:02):
It don't look like that. That's what I'm saying. It
looks it's a lot of Hey, give Joe Burrow the ball.
Speaker 5 (01:37:06):
What's Bill Doug Collins famous quote when Jordan hit the
shotover Elo and he asked, what was the play? He goes,
give Michael the ball. Everybody get the bleep out of
the way. So like, give Joe Burrow the ball, like
I e Jimmy Johnson when he took over the Dolphins. Yeah,
give Marino stop trying to run the ball. Career do
Jabbar was the running back that we drafted from UCLA.
Give the ball to Dann Marino and everybody get out
(01:37:27):
of the way. But Brandon Brody here here's a good
one too, man, He goes, I have the Raiders plus a.
They're better than what they showed up against the La Chargers. Yes,
here's the funny part. Yes, they gave up one hundred
and sixty yards on the ground, but one hundred and
ten of those came on two plays. That's pretty bad, buddy. Also,
they were midway through the third fourth quarter. No way
(01:37:48):
ap makes that mistake again. I agree with you and portion, Yeah,
don't get out those two runs. No, I do think
that they're better than this showed last Sunday. I also
think the Ravens are better than they well, the Ravens
they gave Kansas City the game, well because they handed
that game to Kansas City.
Speaker 2 (01:38:05):
And this is one thing and it's another thing I'm
not going to do this year. As we see Georgia's
score touchdown, right, yeah, finally right. But like I said,
I'm better against Georgia first quarter, the first half. I'm
not letting the Ravens fool me.
Speaker 3 (01:38:15):
No more. Think about no team, Yeah, break that down.
Speaker 2 (01:38:19):
No team in the regular season last year put consistent
whoopings on teams in the regular season than the Baltimore ripe.
Speaker 3 (01:38:27):
They did.
Speaker 5 (01:38:28):
They they beat the head now they beat yeah, yeah, no, no, no,
they whooped they remember Chris was the Christmas Night in
San Francis.
Speaker 3 (01:38:34):
That was a big game. Twenty million people watching. Put
the hurd on San Francisco. Party had what three in
the first half of interceptions? I think seven put fifty
berg on the Dolphins. And while we're on the topic
of the NFC Championship game last year, remember when Detroit
went to Baltimore last year. Beat them off the.
Speaker 5 (01:38:52):
Frame, beat them like they and in the cold and rain,
beat them like they stole something, like they drunk the
last it's been a cool aid and make a fresh
pitcher like So when.
Speaker 3 (01:39:02):
I see Baltimore, I think the same way that we
talk about the Cowboys. When the Cowboys have a sort
of inferior opponent that comes into Dallas, they pretty much
pound them right over the last two or three years
of the regular season. I'm there with the Ravens too.
Speaker 5 (01:39:19):
No, I think the Ravens are they have a shot
to really go win it this year. It wentn't surprising, right,
I know, September fourteen.
Speaker 3 (01:39:26):
I know what they were on.
Speaker 5 (01:39:27):
It wasn't surprised me the Super Bowl was the Eagles
in the Ravens. It just really wasn't. Two teams that
have a real reason to really, you know, fight their
ass off this year and get back on track. Both
made some big liq what they both did. They both
went and improved the running back. One went and got
Saquon the other one went and got Derek Garry to
help out their mobile, you know style running quarterback. And
then they got some receiptions. I think Hurts has got
(01:39:48):
better receivers. But I you know, I I these two teams, man,
are gonna be really good football teams that they don't
have any major life changing injuries. What did you think
of the way If you to give the Eagles a
letter grade for their win in Brazil, Yeah, I mean
I loved it. Bro defense looks like it's back now.
(01:40:09):
It was funny they tried the touch push twice. The
first time they didn't get it, but they just lined
right back up and then just did it again.
Speaker 3 (01:40:14):
I will say this. I wanted to say this last week,
but I didn't get a chance to.
Speaker 5 (01:40:17):
I've never heard a former player's name mentioned who just
retired that is not a quarterback more than they said
Jason Kelcey and that tele ofcast over and oh Joe,
j Jason Kelsey because the offensive line at Jason Kelsey
and the first time this just push whoever be used,
you know, since Jason Kelsey and Jason Kelsey and Jason
(01:40:38):
It's like.
Speaker 3 (01:40:38):
Wow, that guy really was pretty damn good. That dude
really was.
Speaker 5 (01:40:41):
Pretty good for the commentators to continue to harp and
and say his name time and time again because of
what he meant to the offensive line fourteen years there.
I believe it was as the center. But I was
thoroughly impressed, even with some of the early mistakes. Every
quarterback through interceptions last week, nobody was Nobody was a
mistake except for Baker Mayfield. Everybody threw picks, but Sam Darnold,
I just love see now I hope he throws one tomorrow.
(01:41:06):
And I picked the Vikers, but now I know now
I hope he throws one tomorrow, so I don't have
to hear that crap again. But I was impressed with
Philly man. But I really do like Philly and and
what Baltimore are bringing to the table based off the
years they had.
Speaker 3 (01:41:20):
One team was ten to one. They fell apart.
Speaker 5 (01:41:22):
The other team went thirteen and four and lost their
home in the AMC Championship game.
Speaker 3 (01:41:26):
Both teams that know what it tasts to get back. Well,
things looking nice right now for the Colorado Buffaloes. You
remember that story. VJ. J.
Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
Norvel, the head coach of Colorado State, said somebody was
trying to pluck Fouler Nkosey. Forget his first name, the
quarterback from Colorado State, Braiden. I believe Braiden Fowler Nkosi.
Speaker 3 (01:41:49):
What a name.
Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
I was about to say, God bless you. The story
was that Jan Norvel said somebody tried to poach him
for six hundred thousand dollars in a portal in He stayed.
I love this man, I loved these type of stories.
Somebody come poach me. I mean, well it didn't work,
and I just wonder how true it is as we
watch it is true. Game here, Let's kick it over
to Steve the Sega. Steve knows it's true. Ain to true, Steve,
(01:42:12):
they trying to pluck these.
Speaker 3 (01:42:13):
Kids for money? Man, Yes, that has occurred. Yeah, I
think if they had tried to pluck bowler of Fowler
to Coastie, they would have asked for a reform.
Speaker 7 (01:42:21):
You might recall the Miami Ohio kicker is not at
Miami Ohio, right right.
Speaker 3 (01:42:26):
Right, heya, we need a kicker. What's in the budget?
The coaches said, you lost him. No, no, no, we
know where he is. He's at University of Alabama.
Speaker 7 (01:42:35):
Georgia has won forty one straight games in the regular season.
They've just scored to take the lead at Kentucky number
one Bulldogs up thirteen to nine, but still almost twelve
and a half minutes to go in this one. Carson
Beck with only one hundred and nineteen yards passing in
this game. Georgia has beaten Kentucky fourteen straight seasons.
Speaker 3 (01:42:53):
By the way.
Speaker 7 (01:42:54):
Number seven Tennessee led at the half against kent State
sixty five nothing. It's now sixty eight nothing with the
balls driving again early fourth quarter, about ten minutes to go.
At Number twenty three Nebraska Huskers twenty seven to three
over Northern Iowa. Number two Texas was a winner against
UC San Antonio fifty six to seven. Quarterback Quinn Ewers
(01:43:14):
left with a strained abdomen arch Manning off the bench
with five total touchdowns. Number four Alabama a winner at
Wisconsin on Fox TV today forty two to ten quarterback
Jalen Milroe five total touchdowns. Fifth ranked Old Miss has
won at Wake Forest forty to six.
Speaker 3 (01:43:30):
Today.
Speaker 7 (01:43:30):
At sixth rank Missouri Miszoo twenty seven to twenty one
over Boston College, coming from behind. They were down first
half fourteen to three. Number nine Oregon led at halftime
at Oregon State twenty two to fourteen. Final forty nine
fourteen for the Ducks and tenth rank Miami got five
touchdown passes from cam Ward in two and a half quarters.
Hurricanes beat Ball State sixty two to nothing. Victories for
(01:43:53):
Utah and Oklahoma State wins for Oklahoma, Michigan and Notre Dame,
which won sixty six to seven at Purdue sixteen it's ranked.
LSU won thirty six thirty three at South Carolina, and
among the games in progress, Georgia State has just scored
in the final seconds to retake the lead on Vanderbilt
thirty six to thirty two. Toledo is still leading at
(01:44:13):
Mississippi State. It's now thirty eight seventeen with about six
minutes to go to Major League Baseball. Bottom of the night.
The Cubs are winning at Colorado five to three, Brewers
lead in the eighth inning thirteen to four at Arizona,
and the Padres are shutting out the Giants in San
Francisco two to ninzheing in the top of the six.
Houston is tied one to one at the Angels. Earlier
(01:44:35):
it was Atlanta pounding the Dodgers ten to one, Philadelphia
six to four over the Mets. This means the Braves
and Mets are tied again for the final NL Wildcard.
Cleveland and Kansas City with wins, but Minnesota lost at
home eleven to one to Cincinnati. Yankees lost Baltimore one,
so the Orioles just two games back in the first
place Yanks in the Al East. And we mentioned last
(01:44:57):
hour that the Chicago White Sox were oh so so
close to victory. They gave up three runs in the
top of the ninth to the Oakland A's, who tied
at six to six. White Sox have homewred bottom of
the ninth to win seven to six the final, so
we can update that White Sox record for the season.
It's now thirty four and one fifteen.
Speaker 3 (01:45:16):
Five, more, five more, let's get it.
Speaker 7 (01:45:19):
They still trail in the division standings by fifty one
games behind Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
You think they're out, Stave, Yeah, I don't think they're
coming back.
Speaker 7 (01:45:27):
As we pointed out, they could literally play from now
to Thanksgiving and win every game from now to Thanksgiving
and still wouldn't even finish five hundred.
Speaker 5 (01:45:40):
I want to see them lose like one hundred and
twenty six, or like, I want to see them obliterate
this record, so.
Speaker 7 (01:45:45):
That record is one twenty Yeah, so bad.
Speaker 2 (01:45:48):
Vanderbilt right now with the ball down four against Georgia State, uh,
trying to punch it into the end zone it Steve
just alluded to their next couple games.
Speaker 3 (01:45:58):
Number six Missouri, number four out Obama, number.
Speaker 2 (01:46:00):
Two Texas and sixteen LSU seven vander seventh Tennessee rounds
it out. Don't think they'll struggle, not a quite white
Sox level, but it'll be ugly. But without further a dude,
let's go ahead, get him in there.
Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
Too much time wasted without talking to THEMARSJ Morris, MLB
bro content reporter to Mars, How the hell are you?
My friend?
Speaker 6 (01:46:19):
Good?
Speaker 12 (01:46:19):
I'm good?
Speaker 6 (01:46:19):
How you guys?
Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
Doing to that I'm doing well.
Speaker 2 (01:46:21):
I'm not doing I'm not doing I'm sorry, I'm doing well,
doing much better, i should say, than the Dodgers. They
don't have a starting pitcher anywhere from here to the Mississippi,
Rightdre you available to Mars to go pitch for the Dodgers, right?
Speaker 3 (01:46:33):
Because Tyler Glass now is not What do you make
about this?
Speaker 12 (01:46:36):
The LA team, I mean, obviously is a big loss
for the Dodgers, especially with that picture rotation already being
beat up. They have been getting healthier, but you know,
some guys still trying to find their groups. Y I'm
a moto you biller, he's been struggling since he's been back.
Hopefully he could find it. But yeah, just a big
loss for the Dodgers. I know they said a tiny
you know, might see the mound at some point, so
(01:46:57):
I think at this point this shouldn't even be a question.
At this point, he's definitely gonna have to pitch at
some point in the postseason and maybe even throw him
out there for a start, so if you can get
an early run or early lead and you know, maybe
pull him up to four or five something like that.
But he's definitely gonna have to see him out at
some point because this is a big loss.
Speaker 3 (01:47:15):
For the Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (01:47:16):
Heyo, demarga, let's stick with that man, because that's super
and interesting to me, because you don't think that would
be rushing this back. Remember he wasn't supposed to pitch
until next year. And if they throw him out on
the mound in the postseason this season, that I'm sorry,
I'll stand on my soapbox. If that's a rush job,
that's a panic job. That means Roberts's job is in trouble.
(01:47:39):
That that tells me a lot if they were to
do that, Do you do you agree with that? You
think that's what they should do?
Speaker 12 (01:47:46):
Me personally, no, because I do feel like they're set
up to maybe you know, a couple of runs the
next couple of years. So I wouldn't necessarily rush it
right away because like you said, that is a big gamble,
you know, and if that doesn't play out, he gets
hurt again and you know, he misses out the next
year something like that, then you know, they could just
mess up everything. So but I can't see how you
would say, you know, panic job and all of that.
(01:48:06):
So me personally, though, no, I wouldn't Mark, Okay, all.
Speaker 2 (01:48:15):
Right, yeah, seven hundred million dollar con while he think
for the next ten years, I think we'll figure out.
Speaker 3 (01:48:22):
We'll have to live to fight. Yeah, speaking of laying down,
Garrett Cole walked Raphael Devers with one out and the
fourth inning with the bases loaded. It backfired tremendously. I've
been anti intentional walk ever since. A picture can just
throw up four fingers as I want to walk this guy.
(01:48:43):
I think you should have to throw the pitches themselves
and then come back because things changed throughout the things
changed about that bat. But what what what did you
think of Garrett Cole? I mean to me, that's that's
that's scary hours man.
Speaker 12 (01:48:56):
Yeah, it was just a bizarre situation. See, I unders
fan Davis has had success against Garrett call I get that,
but come on, you know, get the ring and saw
Young and it was just yeah, it was it was
just a bizarre situation. You have Austin Wells coming out
saying he wasn't involved in pregame discussions and in game
discussions about walking Devers. You know, maybe he could have
thrown out a suggestion and maybe they could have win
(01:49:18):
a different route. Had he you know, talked to Cole
about it. I don't know, but yeah, I just thought
that was weird, and especially because it's cool, you know,
he doesn't walk anybody in. It was the first time
since twenty seventeen something like that. So yeah, this is
just weird to see.
Speaker 5 (01:49:32):
Hey, I'm looking at the Wildcard. I love what's going
on out here. I want to stay out here in
the LA area. Man with the NL West Uh Dodgers
four games over the Pods and then just a half
a game behind them, the representative of the LLL of
the World Series last year, the d Backs. But you're
looking at the Mets and you're looking at the Braids.
Everybody's kind of hanging around that wildcard position. I think
(01:49:55):
the Cubbies are out at five and a half. I'm
not sure they have enough time to run in there.
But out of those four teams, anybody strike you. You
talked about the Braves last week, Man, revisit that and
what's going on with these match the Diamondbacks, the Pods.
Out of these teams, who can really make some noise,
especially now that we're hearing about all the Dodgers pitching troubles.
Speaker 12 (01:50:15):
You can't count up the Diamondbacks, especially because of the
run they made last year the experience they gained from that,
so you can definitely can't count them out. Pitching talthy Mail,
Kelly's been back for some time now. Gallon's a monster
at home. So and then with that lineup at what Rodriguez,
you know, he's looking good. You're getting better and better
he starts doing, so you can never count them out.
(01:50:35):
The Mets. I like how they've been playing the last
two months now. They've been balling so and then they
brought up with Cuna's brother, so I like that. I
think he's going to be a big piece for them
at some point in the playoffs. So you know, played
a big brow, especially with I believe it was a
Nemo who went down. So uh yeah, I'm excited to
see him play though. I think he's going to be
a very exciting player, good player in this league. He's
(01:50:56):
worked on some things, you know, he's proved on some
preat discipline and some other things. But it's a monster
on the bags, just like his brother. So he's definitely
at that. Just still basis, he's going to be a
very good, consistent hitter. What to seventy type career hitter.
Speaker 3 (01:51:08):
So about to ask you to bar what do you
think is this floor? Two seventy career hitter?
Speaker 12 (01:51:14):
He had two seventy type career here to somewhere around there.
Obviously you know, probably a little higher, but you know,
at minimum, you know, around two seventies and not a
home run hitter, you know, by any means. But like
I said, just a monster on the bags like his brother.
And yeah, he's just going to be a very consistent,
solid player in this league. No, we're going to be
big for them mine post season.
Speaker 14 (01:51:33):
Though.
Speaker 2 (01:51:34):
At some point I believe when you're talking about consistent
study players, I think the number one list on Martin
and VJ comes up to demarj A.
Speaker 3 (01:51:40):
Morris, MLB, Brolanch.
Speaker 12 (01:51:45):
Have to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
Thanks for coming on, bro, thank you, thank you. All right,
here we go, h VJ.
Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
Why don't you try this one? Call back to the
bottom of the second hour when Ian was all, I.
Speaker 3 (01:51:57):

dare they these shots?
Speaker 11 (01:52:00):

Speaker 2 (01:52:44):
Coming up next, did the most popular kids in college
football finally turn a cord?
Speaker 3 (01:52:49):
And we'll get to that. It custimated all Fox Sports
football stattern dot Com Studios DJ the Colorado Buffalo. How
about this? When's the last time the Colorado had a
twenty one point lead on something? I don't care. I
(01:53:11):
know what's happening right now, like.
Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
Not even trying to be funny, not even trying to
talk met This might be the first time in the
coach primariy that if at a twenty one point lead.
Speaker 3 (01:53:18):
I think you're right.
Speaker 5 (01:53:19):
They won their games they won last year were close games.
The TCU game, I forget who else they beat last year.
I only beat four teams.
Speaker 3 (01:53:27):
But the TCC Colorado State in double overtime.
Speaker 10 (01:53:30):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (01:53:31):
And this is an in state, right, This is why
this win's so good tonight. It's a listen, it's a
robbery game. It's an n state robbery game. They played
this game early every year. It's not like most of
the robbery games in college football now. The Apple Cup
has played early. I was played a lot of these games.
We had the backyard brawl. Put yeah exactly. But like
I said, if we if this is what's gotta happen
to keep the robbery, then why not It's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:53:52):
I agree. If this is what's gotta happen, you.
Speaker 5 (01:53:54):
Could plain, people could plain, oh, they're gonna get rid
of robberies and now when we keep them?
Speaker 3 (01:53:58):
But okay, no problem.
Speaker 5 (01:53:59):
But look because in the conference ran liignement, we gotta
move it to some tobrah.
Speaker 3 (01:54:02):
God, you gotta move to Yes, do you want the
game or not? You know what I'm saying. It's like,
it is what it is. Do you want the fried
chicken or not?
Speaker 5 (01:54:09):
No, I don't have hot sauce, But you don't want
the chicken because I don't have hot sauce. Or do
you still want me to fry this chicken? Okay, well
this is what we're doing. We're doing fried chicken. So
just you just gotta follow the Beyonce strategy there.
Speaker 3 (01:54:19):
Oh yeah, keeping it in the bad.
Speaker 5 (01:54:20):
Yeah, keep it with the Tabasco and her person. Yeah,
Tabasco's discussing it. He said, you had hot sauce in
her bag. Yeah, swag. But but this is a it's
a good one for them, Man, Colorado State's another one
on one team in state robbery. You get the dub.
Get that losing taste out of your mouth. Losing sucks
in football. It lasts until you get back out on
the field. Football's only played once a week. Baseball, if
(01:54:42):
you go zero for three tonight, you can go three
for four tomorrow with a home run for RBIs in
a stolen base and no one cares about that previous night. Golf,
you can have up round and shoot seventy six today,
but if you go shoot sixty eight tomorrow, you're right
in the US Open. You're right in You're right in
the you know what I'm saying, Like, you're right in
striking distance and you're definitely.
Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
On on you're gonna make the cut.
Speaker 5 (01:55:04):
But football, it stays with you when you lose, Man,
cause you can't get back out there. Think about it,
your next opponent is your teammate. Because you will put
pads on your hitting practice that week. That's when you
start to hit again, it's another guy on your team,
it's not another guy from an opponent. So this is
get the losing out from last week. Go ahead and
get this dub. It'll shut people off for the week.
(01:55:25):
But then you'll have people that, oh, it's only cotter
All State. But if they have lost this game Arizon
the state last year to.
Speaker 2 (01:55:30):
No, I'm about to say that they know only ain't no,
it was only Colorado State.
Speaker 3 (01:55:36):
When you have a team that won what four games
last year, that'll be the narrative.
Speaker 5 (01:55:40):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:55:40):
That's the way people are gonna do it.
Speaker 5 (01:55:42):
So but like I said, you got a good job, wins,
good job, get the dub, get it, get on the
bus because it's on the road. Get on the bus,
get to the airport, get on the plane, and just
get ready for next week, man, and move on.
Speaker 2 (01:55:52):
We had an interesting occurrence happened in the NFL a
couple of weeks ago, and now we will see the
ramifications of that on Sunday, because I found it fascinating
when I saw that Matt Lafleur in the Green Bay
Packers decided to trade a third round pick to get
Malik Willis out of Tennessee. Now you remember just when
Trey Lance was traded out of San Francisco to go
(01:56:14):
to Dallas.
Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
Right, it was a fifth round pick, but at that
point you had not only a starting quarterback locked in,
but also Dallas was very happy with Cooper Rush, the
backup quarterback.
Speaker 11 (01:56:24):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:56:24):
The idea what Trey Lance was we're gonna practice squad him,
see if we can find a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:56:30):
That was not the plan in Green Bay when they
traded from Elik Willis. He was QB two as soon
as he got there, moving on and having Sean Clifford
go to the practice squad. So it's interesting to me
because you drafted I mean, you trade a third round
pick for a guy and immediately put him on your
fifty three man roster. You're telling me you think he
(01:56:51):
can play. You like him. You're telling me you like him, Yeah,
you like him?
Speaker 5 (01:56:54):
Why not get a said, why do I get another opportunity? Okay,
it didn't work out in Tennessee, that doesn't mean it
can't work out somewhere else. If Sam Dark can be
on this fourth team, if Baker Mayfield can go to
what four teams? The Bucks are his fourth team, and
Baker Mayfield's doing fine. But if other people keep getting
these opportunities. That's one thing about the NFL. There's always
a coach or GM or a player personnel. There's always
(01:57:16):
somebody that thinks I can get out of that guy.
What nobody else has been able to get out of
that guy. It's like dating, right, Everybody thinks they can
save somebody, male or female. Everybody thinks there's a girlfriend
they can save. Everybody every woman think there's a boyfriend
in their past they can save. And then you ten
years later you're like, yeah, I thought I could save
that guy, or I thought I could his potential or
her potential hurt. We all do that in some sense
(01:57:38):
in life. There's I got players I think I can save,
and other coaches on my roster are like, okay, coach Osky,
you can have them here there you go, yeah you can.
You can have them in your in your position group.
If you think you can work this kid, I think
I can work through certain kids. But sooner or later, Martin,
with football tape, don't lie. It doesn't man, game tape film,
(01:58:00):
don't lie, and you realize, Okay, this guy I just
like Trey Lance. Some somebody in Dallas, whether it was
Jerry or whatever. But somebody thought, hey, get this guy here. Hell,
we got Mike McCarthy. Aren't you a aren't you a
quarterback whisper? Fix this kid because he could run and
do all these things. And and maybe McCarthy's like, I
think the way that.
Speaker 3 (01:58:18):
It happens is you. Because everybody does all their pre
draft evaluation on all the prospects.
Speaker 2 (01:58:24):
Right, you don't know who you're gonna draft. I mean,
you may have an idea, but you know you don't
know if that person's gonna be there. So you have
to do your resource and everybody. So I think what
ends up happening is you'll have guys who have bad
are saying bad experience.
Speaker 3 (01:58:37):
Like Zach Wilson, for example. Teams probably had high grades
on him. A few some teams are dead out on him,
but some teams had high grades on him. So you
see what happens After New York he said, you know what,
he just wasn't coached right, I could I could take him.
I can do something about it. I can do I
can do something about it. But when you see Malik Willis,
I mean, I'm sorry will Levis throw those interceptions like
(01:58:59):
he did yep, you have to wonder what the hell
was going on in practice. They had that game. They
had that game.
Speaker 5 (01:59:04):
One man, he gave the game away. You throwing the
ball away, falling down, It doesn't even make it out
of bounds and it lands right in the Bear's hands
and he runs it in.
Speaker 6 (01:59:13):
Like Bro, You're bad. You're one job was to get
the throw off.
Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
I was about to ask you, what's the Where does
backup quarterback come in importance? Because it's got to be
high anyway, territory has gotten up.
Speaker 3 (01:59:24):
Next, we out
