Speaker 5 (01:14):
I'm dan byer Arch Manning gets his first career starts.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Tonight to Texas.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
Still difficult for me to say Big ten matchup between
USC and Michigan, but we've got it, just as it's
difficult to say Big twelve matchup with Utah now being
of that conference. Is they face Oklahoma State a bit
later on today. But a lot to get to here
on Fox Sports Radio. I do want to continue some
NFL conversations though, because there was news this week, Plexico.

(01:42):
Not it's not breaking news, it's more of like the
formality of it. But the nominees for the Pro Football
Hall of Fame one hundred and sixty seven modern era
nominees now up, including your former quarterback with the Giants,
Eli Manning, up for the first time. So you know,
this conversation came up at the end of last year

(02:04):
when the class was announced and you knew Eli was
going to be a member of this class. It came
up a couple of months ago during the Hall of
Fame ceremonies in late July early August around that time,
and now it comes up again because he's on the ballot.
Where do you stand on your former teammates Hall of
Fame candidacy, What do you mean? What do I stay

(02:27):
fast past fast?

Speaker 4 (02:29):
He's a first battle Hall of Fame and no doubt,
there's no question about it. I mean, I had the
opportunity and the privilege to play with this man, and
he was he was brilliant, intelligent quarterback. Fifty seven thousand
yards passing, two World Championships, three hundred and sixty six touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
I mean, there are quarterbacks and there were Lessen Troy.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
We won three Super Bowls with thirty two thousand yards passing,
and he play with a lot of Hall of famers on.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
That on that offense, in that team.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
So when people ask me, is Eli man in a
first ballot Hall of Famer? Absolutely, because that's why he's
on the ballot. There's no question.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
I I I understand, and and I understand that you're
gonna know Eli Manning more than I am. But I
do think it opens this Pandora's box of what first
timers if he's the if, I think he will be
in the Hall of Fame someday, I just don't know
if he should be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

(03:37):
Like Dion Dion talks Deon Sanders talks about you know,
there's there's the Hall of Fame. There should be like
a hall of great and a hall of good, and
he feels that he should be in the upper one.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Like what is the upper one? There's only one hall
of fame.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
That's the Hall of fame. If you can have the
career that this young man had. Knowing now, oh man,
I call him Grandpa fifty seven thousand yards passing for
his the longevity of his career and what only missing
I believe one start and you're talking about is he

(04:14):
a first ballot Hall of Famer? I mean, I mean,
what are we comparing them to? Who are we comparing
them to? From a quarterback comparison? That the quarterbacks are
all in the Hall of Fame. Now, who are we
comparing them to?

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Yeah, the career numbers are there, they are they are.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Who are we comparing him to to being a first
to not being a first ballot Hall of Famer with
the career that he had.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Name it, give me a quarterback, Okay, name one, Matt Okay.

Speaker 5 (04:47):
That is well, he's not eligible for the Hall of Fame,
but Matt Ryan would be in this conversation. Matt Ryan
doesn't have the Super Bowls. He does that an MVP
something ELI doesn't have. But Matt ryan'stistically would match up
with what ELI has done.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Okay, and they ask you a question, do you believe
that Philip Rivers is the Hall of Famer quarterback?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Okay, yes, I get yeah, with two World championships, Philly
doesn't have one.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
No, he does not. Okay, they were the playoffs, the
playoff for the playoff.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
They weren't the playoffs seemingly a little bit more than
what the what the giants were?

Speaker 3 (05:35):
I mean, you got you gotoffs.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
That's fine, and bandy, I've been to the playoffs what
ten times.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Out of a twelve year career.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Jeff Fiegels played twenty years in the NFL, went to
the playoffs one time, and the one time that he
went to the playoffs, he won a World championship with US.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
So don't talk to me about playoffs.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Get any comparison of a quarterback recently that has won
into the Hall of Fame with two World championship and
fifty seven dollars fifty seven thousand narths past.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Yeah, I can't, I can't, can't know. There's Johnny first
ballot Hall of Fame. There's no question about it.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
What the quarterback is playing right now other than Anne Rogers,
Patrick Mahomes and probably Joe Burrow. That you will say
our first ballot Hall of Fame was that you can
compare Eli Man's career too.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Well again, the super Bowls. You know, it's funny, these
are like four.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Or five quarterbacks with actually is now now people are
what about making their heads at super Bowls.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
They're not easy to win. I know, I know, it's
the super Bowls. It's the super Bowls. Well, don't want
you want if it's so easy.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Here's here's the problem though, with the with with what
is against Eli Okay, because there is an anti New
York fashion of all we love everything with the Giants.
Everything is blown out of proportion when you're not in
New York. There's also the interceptions to it. There is
an exception for your buck. Your defensive lines in New
York were amazing in those super Bowl runs.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Well receive it, he did, Yes, yeah, we were there.
Yeah man, let me tell you this team next.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Sure, if the Super Bowls was so easy to win,
then Jim Kelly would have won one. Then Philip Rivers
would have won won, then Dann Marito would have won one.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
But you know what, they're not easy to win.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
And now people are saying, oh, he's going to the
Hall of Fame because he won two Super Bowls.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Come on, man, you know it's what are we doing here?

Speaker 5 (07:43):
It's funny because if you would have just beaten just say, well,
use Philip Rivers for an example, like if you would
have beaten the Chargers team in Super Bowl forty two
instead of the unbeaten Patriots.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
So now it matters who you beaten. I knew you
were going to call there juice. It does. It gives
them more. I listen. I think he's a Hall of Famer.
I truly do.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
But I am with Dion in the Hall of Halls
of Halls, and I feel that we always favor the quarterbacks.
Like Philip Rivers is not a first ballot Hall of Famer.
Maybe he will be, but it's not of the the
Hall of Halls when you're when you're balancing all of this,
and so I think.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Eli's probably going to get in on the first ballot.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
I think the name obviously helps, and there's a lot
I like about Eli. In fact, I've defended Eli when
they talk about his interceptions, plaques and and and I
actually defend the I'll tell you a weird way I
defend him. I say that Eli made Odell Beckham Junior
who he is because there are quarterbacks in the NFL
that wouldn't throw the passes where Eli would throw them

(08:51):
to allow Odell Beckham Junior to make the plays that
he made at times with the highlight real plays. There
are quarterbacks that would not make that throw, they would
not have come evidence in themselves or but but Eli
makes those throws. So I actually don't even care about
the interceptions as much as other people. But I just
go with the dion in the hall of the halls
of the halls, and the only way that we have that.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Is first ballot versus not get I understand what Prime
is saying.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Trust me, I understand it.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
But there are a lot of players on this on
this list and including my list, who should have been
first ballot Hall of Famers, no doubt. And these guys
are still still outside the gate looking in, trying to
get into Canton when they should be first ballot Hall
of Famers.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
And Eli is going to be one of them.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
I mean, you look at Antonio Gates Man, Reggie Wayne,
and Tory Holt Willie.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
I mean, come on, man, yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
These guys should have been in And now who's sitting
there talking about Eli Man had been a first ballot
Hall of Fame?

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Come on, man, you.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
Want to I'm laughing because I'm sitting in for TJ.
And TJ and I did a show probably two years ago,
maybe it was three years ago, I can't remember exactly.
TJ spent like eight minutes talking about Willie Anderson and
I always should be in the Hall of Fame, so
like to your point, like of what he is, you know,
and obviously TJ's close to him because they're former teammates,
but you weren't teammates with Willy Anderson.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
That's why I laughed with it.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Your position, by the way you're in TJ's position, does
get royally screwed.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Man. It's not even about being in a position.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
When you have played the game at this level, you
know who they are because you have the ultimate respect
for how they played the game and how and how
they performed each and every Sunday. And those guys that
I name should have already been in the Hall of Fame.
It's a respect. It's a respect factor of going to

(10:57):
get another grown man and knowing that you're playing against greatness.
And it doesn't happen every week every Sunday, but we
know who the guys are that should be and are
considered to be the best guys to ever play at
their position because it's not easy to do and just

(11:19):
to sustain greatness to and longevity, you need to be rewarded.
Those guys should be the first ballot Hall of Famous
and Eli Manning for what he has done in his career,
and now people are saying, oh, it's only because of
the Super Bowls.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
When does super Bowls come be easy to win? I
mean it's crazy. Look what we're talking about, only two
super Bowls.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
How many quarterbacks moving forward have won multiple Super Bowls?

Speaker 3 (11:53):
And Rodders hasn't won the multiple Super Bowls? He only
has one.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
He's a four time MVP and he's gonna walk into
the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
He already had the Red corp of laid out for him.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Well, Patrick Mahomes also and now we're talking about Eli Manning.
Interceptions is the reason why he won't get in the
Hall of Fame for a first ballot right, I just.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
I get it. I get it.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
I'm curious actually in terms of in the locker room
stuff like what made him because that's actually gonna be
when these when these writers and these people from the
you know, the Writers' Association, make their their case to
the to the Hall of Fame board amongst their peers,
they're gonna say all the stuff that that we say,

(12:45):
and someone's gonna say what I'm saying to what you're
saying about the back and forth. What would change their mind?
Like with him as a teammate, what would change someone's
mind aside from just the numbers that we would need
to know on why.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
He's the first ballot. Let me be honest with you.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
He was my locker He was right beside me for
you know, the four years that I was there. Nothing
in the locker room made him a Hall of Famer.
Because the guy was a prankster. He was a jokester, sure,
but you know, you know, inside of the locker room.
But when he stepped on the field, of course he
had games that were bad, all quarterbacks soo. But when

(13:24):
it came down to winning football games, he won.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
And that's what needs to be considered. We're not talking
about the.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Toyota Eli Manning and the dunkin Donuts and all of
those things the teammate that he was inside of the
locker room. We're talking about performing on Sunday and Mondays
and Thursday, whenever you play, and when the man went
out on football field, he wasn't great at every single Sunday,

(13:53):
but when he was, he won football games, and he
bought two World championships to this town, to this city,
and now winning Super Bowls aren't good enough. I mean,
I just don't know who you compare them to from
a quarterback standpoint, with multiple championships, with the numbers that

(14:14):
he has, and he's not a first ballt and Hall
of Famer. I mean, it's crazy that we're having this conversation.
Who can we compare him to? With two World championships?

Speaker 5 (14:25):
There are very few quarterbacks I want to that are are.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
At least you agree with me on that point. Yeah,
I do. I do. I think that he should be
a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Fifty seven thousand yards in your career, which is top
ten now in the National Football League, and I won't
always be, but still like those are worthy Hall of
Fame numbers. I just the first ballot is the part
that just I get hung up on when he only
made the playoffs in what five.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Times in his career.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
You guys had the two runs, but the you know,
the six eight and twenty sixteen bowed out early. Those
those sort of those things when you have someone like
Jim Kelly, even though not getting to the Super Bowl
year after year, they were in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
They were in the thick of it.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
Boom boom boom, boom boom, all right, you know, like
those those sort of things. John Elway, you know, not
getting there at first and then being able to cap
it off at the end with his two in the
back to back like those are. That's a first ballot
Hall of Famer in my eyes, Dan Marino, you know,
first ballot Hall of Famer. Mahomes will be a first
ballot Hall of Famer Brady obviously, But you know, I

(15:42):
would say it's funny because Peyton and Eli's career is
a little bit more closer than we thought with the
Super bowls that you talk about, but Peyton still threw
it for over seventy thousand yards, you know, and so
like I would put Peyton in as a first ballot
Hall of Famer before I would put Eli.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
I don't think they're the same. Okay, let me ask
you this question. So, out of the top ten, you
had Tom Brady, Breeze, Peyton, Yeah, and fall Ben Phillip,
Matt Ryan, Dan Marino, Annon Rodgers, and Ali mannon. All
of those quarterbacks were first balllet of Hall of Famers.
And how many quarterbacks under does have multiple Super Bowls?

(16:20):
Do you believe that Ben Roethlisberger is the first batlet
of Hall of Famer? Yes, okay, we can compare him
to Ben.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
What Ben? Yeah, he's gonna be the first battle of
Hall of Famer. Yeah he will.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
He will be been you know, been through for more
yards than he did sixty four thousand.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
They had more playoff success, They had opportunities, more opportunities.
So I think that I think Roethlisberger's career is better
than Eli's.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Do you think Matt Ryan had a better career than
Eli Man? No?

Speaker 4 (16:56):
No, okay, then, and you consider Matt Ryan to be
a Hall of quarterback.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
I think you'll probably get in someday. I just don't
think it's going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
That's what I ball Hall of Famer.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
But you know, if you want to compare guys, Eli
man and I mean, I mean the proof is in
the pudding.

Speaker 6 (17:15):
Sure, sure, I love I I I What I love
best is I even was wondering if there was some
leadership quality or someone You're like, nah, here's a prankster.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
But the numbers and everything and the rings absolutely show it.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
Half of the tyreeplay is Eli, Oh you know God, No, No,
I'm on your side, on your side. What I'm saying
is the Tyree catch. We focus on the catch, but
the Eli escape is part of that play.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Down his Hall of Fame ballot to play, I've given him.
I'm giving him credit on the play because you go
down to dual plays. Now why he's a hall he
made a Hall of Fame play.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
People will say, David Tyree save the day, David Tyree
save the day. If he doesn't do that about it,
you don't catch the touchdown pass. What I'm saying, and
I am giving Eli this credit, is that he was
able to elude the pressure to be able to make
the throw, to scramble away and break from that sack
and then again make the throw, which I did give

(18:23):
him credit for for all the throws that he made
to allow Odell Beckham Junior to reach one arm outside
of the you know, the sideline making it back in.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
I'm giving him credit for that.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
I'm not Ario man and Ham played Eli Eli to
obj and Eli to David ty Ree. He saved the day,
he saved the Super Bowl. I don't make the game
winning touch down if David Tyree doesn't catch the ball,
and we're breaking his Hall of Fame ballot.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Down to why he should be in the Super Bowl.
That's what we're doing. Am I Am I wrong? Though?

Speaker 5 (19:04):
People will bring that up. They will, you know they will.
You may not agree with it, but it is part
of the conversation. And I'm getting Eli crazy. It's not
it is crazy.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
I'm gonna believe I'm a quarterback, you know, comparison to
receiving a Hall of Fame ballot. I don't believe that
we've had more discussion about a quarterback going into the
Hall of Fame than Eli Manning Well Buckal haven't.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
I know.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
But it's gonna be here for the next year and
if he gets it, you know, picked in February, now,
we're gonna get it.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
You will be. I know you will be. I know
you will be, and you probably will be.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
So you should probably ask off for up on game
right now for early August of two thousand and five.
Just saying that first week in August, you could probably
already let the bosses know I'm not gonna be here.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
I'm gonna be in Canton. You're probably right with all
of this. Absolutely. He is Plexico Borough, I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
It is up on Game as we are live from
the tirerac dot com studios. Coming up next, we talk

is the day.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
Wherever you get your podcast, and you'll see today's show
posted after we get off the air. So all the
Eli Manning truthers will want to hear Plaques's passionate case
for Eli to get into the Pro Football Hall of
Fame as a first ballot Hall of Famer from one
Manning to another. Arch Manning, Eli's nephew getting his first

(21:17):
start at Texas. So let's say arch lights it up
today against Louisiana Monroe, just like he did last week
in place of the injured Quinn. Viewers, do we see
a quarterback controversy happening in Austin with the top rank Longhorns?

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Hey, man, like I've always said, you know what, You're
not supposed to lose your job to injury. But this
guy at arch Man he's going to light it up today.
And I saw Kazan He's going to have to make
a decision after the day if if Arch goes out
and plays the way that I know he can, and

(21:56):
he will against.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Louisiana Monroe.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
I mean, I know that Quinn came back for a
senior year, and you know he wanted to make the
cave for Heisman push and you know, and uh, you know,
win Winter National Championship, because I do think that Texas
has the best team in college football right now. The uh,
the way that they went up and manhandled Michigan, it

(22:24):
was one of the most lovely Saturdays that I've ever
had in my life. I watched every single play. I
mean I was hooking horns in here and everything like
you wouldn't believe. I started to put on a pair
of cowboy boots and a tail of the jacket like
Matthew McConaughey, and a hat and started lining dancing. And

(22:44):
that's how happy I was. I was gonna sell you you.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Watch six hours of McConaughey movies afterwards, continue the vibe.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Yeah, I get it. I'm telling you I did not
miss a play.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
It was one of the most beautiful things that I've
ever seen in my life. I texted Money Tuma and
Larry Footing all my guys, you got stink.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
But I gotta say, man, I believe that, you know,
Archman and moving forward, he's going to be probably one
of the best quarterbacks in college football. And you know,
he just made a couple of plays last week that
just kind of jumped off the page. So you know,
throwing the ball on the first play for a touchdown
and then then tucking in the running I didn't even
know the guy. I didn't even know he could move

(23:26):
that fast. Sure, that was a surprise to man everybody else.
But I think that you know, obviously the last name
and in the quarterback pedigree or what she comes from
from his family, you know he's going to be prepared.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
You know, I think he's a tremendous talent. And if
he goes out there and puts up one of these
three seventy five four hundred yard passing days, four or
five touchdown, you know, what do you do if you're
Steve Starkeysing. I mean, I know that Quinn is a
is a senior and he wants to go out as
a starting quarterback for his team. But if they get
in a group with him and and yous is down

(24:01):
for a week or two and and and Art and
Arch goes out there and sets records in his on
on his on his team. I just think that he's
going to have a tremendous issue on his hands moving forward,
because Quinnyus is a senior. And yeah, he got injured,
but if they started rolling and he's not healthy for

(24:22):
two or three weeks and he rolls off two or
three magnificent games, I think you have to leave man
in as a starter.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Just I just thinking you do. I'll tell you it's
it's such a unique situation.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
And with having the caliber of quarterbacks that they have
plus ers could have gone to the National Football League,
uh if he if he wanted to, But I ends
up staying. And so that's where I think Sarkisian does
owe him his job back when he's back.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
And I think that he will.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
And I think that with the comments that Sarkisian is
made of Arch being one of the guys I mean
our he's just got to return next year.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
He can't go pro after this year, so it's going to.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Be his job next year, and I wouldn't put it
past just like Peyton stayed for his senior year to
follow in his uncle's footsteps and say, all right, you
know what, I'm gonna stick around Austin.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Just like Quen Youwers also did, maybe a year longer.

Speaker 5 (25:16):
So I don't think they're in a rush for arch
Manning good problem to have the bigger problem, just maybe
because of the last name and the hype that is
around arch. But to your point of what Texas did
to Michigan, and there are throws that Quinn Ewers can make,
and we'll find out if arch Manning can make.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Them, I don't know if you can. You he probably can't.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
You're probably right, but I think that they owe it
to Quinn Yours to give him his job back because
he's done nothing to lose it. And honestly, I think yours,
even as a pro prospect, if you're Sarkisian, yours needs
to show NFL teams that, look, I could stay healthy
the rest of the season, like I'm not just I
missed it, you know time with this oblique injury. But

(25:57):
maybe we're not playing the toughest of competition, but I
can navigate an SEC schedule and be healthy. Because heck,
we were talking about the Carolina Panthers off the top
of the show. There are very few quarterbacks that could
throw the football like quin Yours does. So when draft
time comes around and you're trying to poke holes and
find why this guy may or may not be worthy
of a pick, the injury history of Quinn Yours is

(26:18):
going to be brought out. But I think he needs
that to kind of silence everyone. So it's even more
of a big picture.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
It's an oblique injury, and you just don't have a
gauge of how it's going to heal. You know, it
could be a hernie or anything that they're not telling us,
but an oblique injury for a quarterback, especially throwing a football,
you know it's going to be some pull and some

(26:43):
tortue on that oblique, probably for the rest of the season. Sure,
So just just like you said, you know, he's had
some injury issues in the past.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
And you know, I kind of agree with you on
that point.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
He came back to Texas to win a world champion
that's a championship, being a Heisman race, and you know,
obviously finished college and they're not in a rush to
get Arch out there because he's going to be the
quarterback of the future.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
No doubt, but.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
It's tough to just break up a cohesive unit when
they're playing well. And you know, we get a chance
to see arch man for the first time as a starter,
and I just think that he's just going to go
out there. He's going to make some throws, he's going
to make some runs. And people are going to say
but the alumni included, the fan base and everybody else included.

(27:37):
I think playing quarterback back Texas, like my good buddy
Vince Young told told me, is the biggest position in
college football, being a quarterback at Texas, because every young
man that plays quarterback in Texas, that plays you football,
wants to be the quarterback at Texas and it's the

(27:58):
most coveted position in college football. That that that gets,
you know, uh, the spotlight on them as being a
quarterback in Texas. Shortstop of the New York Yankees, right,
similar thing like, yeah, that's the position, Yeah, that's the position,
so so so so crazy. Moving forward, we don't know
how long Quinn is going to be out, but I

(28:19):
just think arch is just going to go out man,
and he's going to light it up and you know,
all the words, uh, you know, moving forward for the
next few games, it's going to circularly, Yeah, when are
we going to see Manning?

Speaker 3 (28:33):
And I'll tell you what.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
There may have been a situation where Texas may want
have started Arch Manning even if Quinn Yours was healthy,
because you had this game last week against UTSA, and
you've got Louisiana in the road today. Next week you
have Mississippi State, which is an SEC game that you
should win in your opener, especially being at home.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
Then you have a week off, and then you're in the.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
Cotton Bowl in the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma, and
I and I think that they want yours for that game.
And then the following week you got to you know,
you're home to Georgia, you know, in a possible one
to two matchup in all likelihood, if they stay unbeaten,
that's what we're gonna get. So I wouldn't doubt if
we see Arch this week, and I wouldn't doubt if
we saw him.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Next week against Mississippi State.

Speaker 5 (29:16):
Just so yours is fully healthy for that game against
Texas or excuse me, against Oklahoma coming up in a
couple of weeks. So maybe not the worst timing of
the injury at least for Texas.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
I know it's hard to believe that this Texas football
team would be better with Arch Manning starting. It's hard
to believe that based off of how good they are now.
And you know, I believe that saar Keusan was put
in a position when yous came back to be the

(29:48):
starting quarterback, even if Arch is better than him now,
that he basically gave him this stought and position based
off of him coming back be the quarterback for Texas
his singing year.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
It's I'll tell you what yours doesn't run. You mentioned
that Arch run last week. I think that's the other
dynamic where you make you scratch. Everybody didn't it?

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Yeah, he did. He can run.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
I don't think he's gonna carry the vault ten times
a game. I don't think that's gonna happen. But if
he needed it, you know, I guess now apparently it's
in the arsenal. Who would have thought with Peyton and Eli,
those those.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
You got that right, You got that right because my
Eli couldn't run a lit.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Tell him to his face.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
He knows, Hey, man, we gotta protect this guy because
he's not you know, he's like a seal lot of
water when he gets out of the pocket.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
When Peyton ran, it looked like he was carrying a
refrigerator on his back uphill.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Like that's what it looked like. Archetsug wheels though he
was going all right.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
While Plax gets his USC gear on for two day's
game against Michigan, We're going to go over to the
news desk. Brian Fellley's going to give us the latest
of what's happening on this Saturday and week four and
then tonight Michigan State's taking on Boston College. So are
the own baby, Yeah, yeah, Brian Felly.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
What's happening?

Speaker 8 (31:15):
Yeah, let's not forget about UCLA guys against LSU.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Let's go so alphabet bull as I'm going to call it.
There's the CLA LSU there is.

Speaker 8 (31:23):
Yeah, there you go. Well, we'll see what happens there.
In the meantime, you're talking about wheels, Dan, how about
the wheels from Quinn Shawn Jenkins, the Ohio State quarterback
who has turned things around back to the status quo
for number three Ohio State. After Marshall scored first.

Speaker 7 (31:38):
Jess McLaughlin snaps with the Will Howard a hands quinchy
on Juckkins runninglet's side it it's.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
What twenty hits his own thirty on his horse.

Speaker 7 (31:44):
He goes to the fifty Quincheon Judkins to the Marshall
thirty yard line. Judkins to the twenty of the thundering
hurt to the tan and he is tackled but falls
in the hand z one for a touchdown. Quinn sewn
Judkins on first down he takes that baby eighty.

Speaker 8 (31:57):
Six yard Ohio State Radio Network twenty eight to seven
Marshall under a minute ago in the first quarter, or
make that the second quarter, and you can watch this
game on Fox Television NC State. What is going on
with them? They are getting obliterated by number twenty one
to Clemson forty two to seven late stages of the
second quarter. There we have reached half time between Mississippi

(32:19):
State and Florida and the Gators scoring twenty one second
quarter points. They are owning a twenty eight to fourteen
advantage against the Bulldogs. Indiana opens up a thirty one
to fourteen lead over Charlotte at the half James Madison
forty six points. They have put on North Carolina. What
is going on? Plax and Dan, and it's still in

(32:39):
the second quarter.

Speaker 5 (32:41):
Flag Brown, come on, let's get.

Speaker 8 (32:45):
It's the seconds Madison, Yes, forty six to twenty one
is where they are now. James Madison has the football
with four to twenty nine to go in the second
And some quick news revolving around the status and health
of one Utah quarterback Cam Rising, who is a game
time decision today against Oklahoma State Utes and Cowboys. They

(33:06):
will battle it out and in a skirmish between two
teams inside the top twenty in the country. He's dealing
with an injury to his throwing hand. And lastly, according
to reports, Jaguars tied Evan Ingram not on track to
play Monday against the Bills with a hamstring issue, and
Steelers lineman Troy fought to not whoh won't go?

Speaker 3 (33:26):
Fought to not? Oh? Jeez, I had it written that
is phonetically written down.

Speaker 8 (33:33):
Here we go. He will not be going to, say
the least against the Chargers this weekend with any injury
and plaques and Dan, who would have thought as they
get it back to you, the Chargers and Steelers both
to and zero right now?

Speaker 5 (33:43):
I know three and oh on the line of the
steel City yeah, I would have to say this.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Man, I love Mac Brown. He recruited me when I
was in college. That's how long he's been coaching. But
if you get fifty points put on you before halftime,
you know what, Yeah, you gotta look at the options.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Yeah, I mean fifty points a half down.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
The James Madison he was gonna say in that home,
no disrespect to the Dukes. But it's not like, you know,
Trevor Lawrence and the Clemson Tigers have come.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
To the town. You know that is that is not
the case.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
Our teammate Bucky Brooks at Fox Sports Radio is gonna
have to take all of his North Carolina stuff from
his playing days down on all of his camera shots
that you see on the NFL network after this one,
because you do not want to be associated with this
sort of whooping. All right, it is up on Game

(34:38):
plax should be fun.

Speaker 3 (34:40):

Speaker 5 (35:08):
All right, it's my debut of up on game down
on game plaques. Are gonna follow your lead. Take it away, guys.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
You've taken you down.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
For some pick.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
Are you up on gamey?

Speaker 3 (35:21):
Let's crack this out. Let's crack it up.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
Down on game, get down.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
That is right up on game, down on game. A
little refresher here for people maybe participating in the first time.
I'm gonna give you three games. Are gonna pick against
the spread and the over under on the total. Here
all of these lines, of course, courtesy of our friends
over at DraftKings. Dan and I are going to sit
in for Lavarr and TJ so they will not be
completely out in the cold here.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Okay, okay, there's a little theme.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
There's a little theme here though for these picks. So
we're going to start here with the New York Giants
heading to Cleveland to take on the Browns. The Browns
a six and a half point home favorite, the total
currently set at thirty eight, So plax, what do you
got here, Cleveland?

Speaker 4 (36:03):
Unfortunately, I have to go with the Cleveland Browns on
this when I think they cover the spread. They win
by ten, but it will be under thirty eight points.
I don't see the Giants really going on a stung
a lot of points and Leaveland also, So I'm going
with the Cleveland Browns with the spread and under on

(36:26):
the points.

Speaker 5 (36:27):
I'll tell you, I think everybody's down on the game
of the New York Giants, but not me.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
They cover.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
I'm gonna take the under a thirty eight and a half,
but I'm gonna say their defense rises up. They kept
Washington out of the end zone last week. I don't
expect DeShawn Watson and the Brons to do much better.
I'll take the Giants to cover with the under.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Okay, yes, and I will also take the Giants to cover,
and I will also take the under. The next game here,
the Philadelphia Eagles head down to New Orleans take on
the Saints. The Saints a three point home favorite, with
the total currently set at forty nine and a half.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
Wow, this is a tough one. You know what, I
don't think that.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
I don't think last week that offensive performance by the
New Orleans Saints was a flute. So I'm going with
the Saints to cover the spread and I'm going over
on the point.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
I believe it's going to be a hot scoring game. Wow.

Speaker 5 (37:22):
Just kind of like our Eli Manning discussion. I'm taking
the Eagles plus three. I think it goes under. Some
of these defenses got to show off.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Yeah, hopefully this is the game to get Nick Sirionni
fired the Saints here, and I am going to go
over on the points because Philly can't stop anybody. Last
one here. The Miami Dolphins head up to Seattle to
take on the Seahawks. Seahawks a four and a half
point home favorite, the point total currently said at forty two.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Man.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
You know what, I'm going off of personal experience.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
I've been to Seattle five times in my career and
I am on five.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
It is the toughest place to win and professional football.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
So I'm taking the Seattle Seahawks with the over on
the point, and they're gonna also.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Cover the spread. I like that Seahawks portion of the deal.

Speaker 5 (38:14):
I'm saying the Seahawks cover, not only because of Skyler Thompson.
It's the longest road trip in the NFL for the Dolphins.
But I'll take the under on it.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
Seas cover, but the under.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Yeah, I'm gonna take Seattle and the over on this
one myself.

Speaker 5 (38:27):
Both Benson bringing the heat today, up on game, down
on game and next week if my pigs stink, just
blame it all on bow that's all.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
Oh, oh well, definitely let you know. Definitely let you know.
I'll get it.

Speaker 5 (38:39):
I'll get a special call from you guys and bringing
me in and tell you how down on game I am. Hey,
if you want to take our picks, go to DraftKings
and yeah, you can make a parlay. Take Flaxus, bakes
mine or bows. Be a great way to enjoy some
NFL Sunday. Just head over the DraftKings and yeah, take
our over unders, take our spreads, come by an together

(39:00):
and have some parlay fun on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
It's been a fun Saturday, plex.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
I appreciate it, and uh, you enjoy the rest of
the game's good luck to your spartans. Tonight for Plexico Burrows.
I'm Dan Bayer. This has been up on Game on
