Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
All right. We got a handful of games in this
late window, five of them all with intriguing storylines earlier today,
no different in week three. But I think the quote
of the day is a quote that's been around for decades.
It was from one Bill Parcells, who says you are
who your record says you are. And I think that's

(00:24):
important to note when we talk about these teams in
the National Football League. Welcome in. It is Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. He is the allpro carry road z.
I'm Dan Byers. We are broadcasting live from the Tirec
dot Com studios. Tirec dot Com. We'll help you get there.
An unmet selection, fast free shipping, free road has a
protection and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirec dot com
the way tire buying should be. So we've got the Cowboys.

(00:46):
You heard Monty say down eleven, but they are in
Raven's territory trying to pull a bit closer. Seahawk's getting
another big play from dk Metcalf to extend their lead
against the Dolphins. The Andy Dalton led Carolina Panthers up
on the Raiders, Lions and Cardinals playing a fist fight
right now in the desert. And then you have the
Niners who are short handed against the Rams who are

(01:08):
short handed in San Francisco right now playing they're basically
a home game in southern California, up by two scores. Again,
as Monzi told you, those five games are where we're
at right now. What sticks out to you the most
of these five?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Out of these five right now, it would be it
would be the Carolina Panthers and you know that gully,
Yeah yeah, and that offense.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
I mean I didn't expect him. Even with Sam Darnold.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
I knew he would bring some obviously, some veteran leadership,
some stability. They probably could expand the playbook a little bit.
But I mean that team has been lowly these first
two games, and for them to come out right now
and rally behind Donald and have a lead early against
the Raiders is a big deal. The other stuff I've
pretty against with Dalton, right, yes, yes, yes, the other

(01:51):
stuff I've pretty much you know, it's kind of fallen
in line of what I thought would happen so far.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
But that game is a surprise, you shed Donald, and
I know that's where your mind is my mind as well.
And we'll get to how things put out with the
Vikings today and their huge win even got dinged up
a little in that huge win, but a lot to
get to. But I do think the Carolina Panthers are
a story because they've been the story of the entire week.

(02:16):
And I am not surprised that Carolina has come out
and scored because Andy Dalton is a professional quarterback. We've
seen him do it with the Saints a few years
ago and coming in and doing what he's done now,
he's that backup to kind of save the day, which,
by the way, maybe the Russell Wilson role if he

(02:38):
chooses to have that role, because it sure looks like
Justin Fields is keeping that job. Something Carrie said that
should happen two weeks ago. But when you look at
Carolina and you look at Bryce Young. We even had
stories within in the last twenty four hours that said
several teams called Carolina about acquiring Bryce Young and that
the Panthers rebuffed those talk because there is a plan

(03:01):
for Bryce Young to play later on in the season.
None of those surprising. You don't trade Bryce Young right
now for this reason. His stock is at it's absolute lowest.
There is nothing. There is nothing there. You need something
more to make. The only thing that the Panthers would
have on their side is maybe it would be a
bidding war, But I don't know who wants a bidding

(03:22):
war in the Bryce Young sweepstakes right now, after seeing
what we saw in the first two weeks, teams are
calling because they were thinking, maybe we can get him
on the cheap and that's it. That's gonna need to change.
He's gonna need to show something on game films, so
the Panthers are gonna have to play him at some point. Lions,
by the way, in the end zone, I'm on Saint
Brown touchdown pass from Jared Goff, so they are up
thirteen to seven with the extra point coming up. But

(03:44):
it just didn't It didn't surprise me that the Panthers
extra point missed by Jake Bates, fittingly because I picked
him up this week in fantasy football. That doesn't matter.
But the Bryce Young situation is out a bunch of
different layers to it. On top of the fact carry
that we are one season and two games into the

(04:05):
guy's career as a first overall pick. Yeah, and some
are already already willing to punt on that career. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
I think people are going to start to learn here,
especially with the resurgence of a couple of guys this year,
that you don't just abandon these guys. They were first round,
you know, top you know, top picks in the draft
for a reason. They have skill sets, they have talent.
We've seen them do it as well at a level
that's a little inferior obviously to the NFL, but the

(04:34):
capabilities of them being good players in this league is
still there. And I think we also are starting to
realize how big coaching is in this league. You can't
be a one dimensional head coach and be successful in
the NFL.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
You have to have your foundation.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
You got to have what you like to do, but
you also have to you know, gain plan and put
your players in the best position to be successful. And
if you can't do that, you can't. There's only a
few quarterbacks in this league that can overcome that. He's
not one of those guys yet, but that's not to
say he can't be.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
What does it say though, that Andy Dalton can come
in and in a quarter and a half throw for
one hundred and twenty four yards and two touchdowns and
have your team have a seven point lead when they
haven't been in any of these games. That, I mean,
what does that say about? I mean the offense. Dave
can Alis is like, see it works, yes, Andy, but

(05:28):
we've got something here. It's not just me. It's not
my system. But what does that say when you've had
all off season and then you build up to these
two games and you have the failures that you have.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
You just said something that really just just spucked. It
sparked something in my head.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
It was like a thing. It's like, well, that's what
it is. He's a new coach.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
You know, a lot of people are saying, even myself included,
like you definitely pulled Bryce Young way too early. But
he's a young he's a rookie coach. He wants to
show exactly what you just said. No, my system works.
If you put somebody in there that that's actually seen
NFL defense is enough to know what they're doing in
their disguises and stuff that they're given to Bryce Song

(06:07):
that he doesn't recognize yet, we can move the ball
down the field. That was a great point because I
think that's that's a big factor and probably why he
made the decision.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I think that there are a couple of things. We
thought that because from the comments that Dave Canallis made
last week on Sunday were different than the ones when
he made Monday, when they benched Bryce Young. By the
way the Cowboys were driving, Dak Prescott hit Ceedee Lamb
to get inside the ten yard line, lamp fumbled recovered
by the Ravens. So Baltimore is gonna take over first
and ten from their own nine yard line, already up

(06:37):
fourteen to three early in the second quarter. But so
Bryce Young gets benched twenty four hours after Dave Canalis
said that they were going to stick with Bryce Young.
I thought many others thought that the message came from
above and Dave Tepper, the owner, was part of it.
I thought Dan morgan Is, the general manager, had a

(06:58):
role in it because he's a guy who played in
the NFL. He knows what an zero and two start
could mean. When the rest of the team doesn't have
faith in your quarterback, like things could really go down
and spiral fast. You've got to do something to at least,
you know, stop the bleeding, or you know, put a
plug into the to the boat that's leaking water. You
have to figure out something. And so Andy Dalton right

(07:21):
now before the thing really got out of control and
you're oh to four to ozho to five and no
one's interested in football anymore in Charlotte, you had to
make that move. But to the point of maybe of Canalis,
maybe just wanting that ego or to say my stuff
does work. Maybe that was a point of it and
saying like, guys, this is where we are right now.
We cannot turn this around in a week. We need

(07:44):
some good things to happen. You've got veteran wide receivers. Yeah,
I know you took the Xaviel get from Florida State.
I believe in the early second round South Carolina, excuse me.
And but you have Deantay Johnson and add how yep.
Those guys have been around. You're gonna have to feed them.

(08:05):
It just just it was a bad situation. They just
needed something good. And it's just funny that it happens
with Bryce Young not surprising, but on the bench and
Andy Dalton coming in in this short turnaround. Yeah, the
Red Rocket can win some games.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Obviously, we've seen that he's not gonna he's not gonna
lead your team to the promise land. And so yeah,
you say, like steadying the ship, giving us hope and
showing us that again, our system can work if we
do it the correct way. I understand it from if
it happened, you know, from the top tepper to you know,
Canalis or whatever the fact, whatever that ultimate fact was.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
But we're talking about.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
A young man in Bryce Young who won it at
an all time level, and he knows how to win,
and he's proven that he was the best player coming
out of coming out of that draft at that time
before we saw them on this level. But you know,
for him, I hope that he's able to regroup from
this learn and again at this point he has to
really put into work to understand what it's what it

(09:03):
takes to be a successful quarterback. You think Bryce Young
was the best quarterback so he was coming into the draft.
I mean, obviously wej stroud, I know, hindsight twenty twenty,
we can say that. But coming into the draft, he
was the proven commodity, the best one out of the bunch.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
So that's just what it is. Here's where we stand
in this late window. Seahawks again up seventeen to three
on the Dolphins. Ravens, we told you up fourteen to
three on the Cowboys. Panthers continue to have that fourteen
to seven lead on on the Raiders right now about
three minutes to go until halftime. There the Niners up
fourteen to nothing on the Rams and the Lions of

(09:39):
that thirteen to seven edge on the Cardinals. You think
c J.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Stroud would have been good in Carolina, not as good
as That's my point. So it's just like it's easy
to say, now, oh, c J. Stild's the best because
he is at this moment, but coming into the draft
that wouldn't have been the case.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
But Bryce Young's heights played a role in some of
this stuff for sure. Right Like there's something with that
I always point to. I feel like anytime I'm having
this debate, I'll go back to the Ohio State quarterbacks
are thought of. This is not as good and for
some reason Alabama Nick Saban got a free pass because

(10:14):
because if you do look at the Alabama quarterbacks even
prior to the to the Tua to the mac Jones,
I mean, Jalen Hurt said to leave, you know, Alabama
and become that good quarterback. So it wasn't necessarily a
you know, a murderer's row of success stories coming out
of Tuscaloosa under Center for sure. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
I mean a lot of those programs, man, And you
said it, you said two of them, right, Ohio State, Alabama.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
They are.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
They're organizations, right, They're gonna restock, they have the most
talent in the country. They're gonna have the guys that
are they're gonna beat most guys, and so you can
throw certain plays and certain offenses out there that you
couldn't do at other places. And so I think that
kind of lends a hand in the NFL because obviously
everybody's that talented, but when you have the most talent

(11:01):
in college, it's probably better for the quarterback in that situation.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
He is Carrier Roads. Hit him up at Carrie twenty
five Roads. You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox.

to follow, plus a ton of action from the early games.
How did Minnesota tear up part those Houston Texans? We'll
talk about a next He's Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Got a quarterback, draw and run for the end zone, Bro,
it is caught for a touchdown. Got you want Jennings again? Touchdown?

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Sam praying sits gown.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
No, they're not at home. They are not at home.
It is a road game for them. Trust us. They
are wearing They're wearing their red uniforms, so it may
sound like they're at home and look like they're at home,
and the redness stands may make it seem like they
are at home, but they are not. They are on
the road facing the Rams. Fourteen to niners up on

(12:33):
La midway through the second quarter, Rams do have the
football trying to get closer to midfield. Highlight their courtesy
of canb are the forty nine Ers radio network? Yes
he is Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Beyer. It is Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. We got a Niners discussion coming
up in about forty minutes or so, probably around the
time the Niners will be at halftime, So it will

(12:53):
work out perfectly. Former forty nine Ers quarterback Sam Darnold,
who lost last week to the Minnesota Viking, who lost
to the Minnesota Kings last week and completely today destroyed
the narrative that when you play the forty nine Ers
the next week, you are feeling that that your outcome
is not going to be in your favor because of
the beatdown that the forty nine Ers put down on you. Well,

(13:15):
the Vikings did what they did to brock Purty. Brian
Flores had him confused and CJ. Stroud confused as well.
Today sacked four times, picked off twice, just twenty of
thirty one in a game Minnesota dominated on the scoreboard
thirty four to seven. Vikings are now three to zero
in that battle of two and oho teams entering the week.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Man, I want to know who had the Vikings three
and zero at this point in the season right now?

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Nobody, right, Okay? In fact, in fact, I have picked
against the Vikings last week against the forty nine ers.
They played three games, Dan, you voughted against them four times.
I liked what the Giants had up front in Week one. Okay,
it didn't play out to how I thought. But the
Minnesota Vikings are absolutely proving me wrong. And they're not

(14:01):
doing with smoking mirrors. They're not doing it by playing
easy opponents. And I say that as someone who's been
a fan of the Seahawks for forty years and they're
two and er right now, but they're leading these Skyler
Thompson led Miami Dolphins. The Minnesota Vikings went to the
metal Lands, beat the Giants, knocked off the forty nine ers,
as they said, with Brock Purty, and now today took

(14:23):
care of the Houston Texans with CJ. Stroud.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
They got to be the most surprising team and the
best team right now. And I would say, I know,
we like to make predictions and all that stuff, but
you got to at this moment, you know, Sam Donold
is probably leading the MVP, Like it's a crazy arc
and a.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Crazy, crazy story.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
But I want a lot of people to understand that
none of this happens without Kevin O'Connell and the job
that he's done there. I mean, I mean, he's just
he's had those guys flying around on offense, on defense,
but also just the stability there at that head coaching position,
a guy that is obviously not a one trick pony,

(14:58):
not one minded. He's been the to give sam Donold
the answers to the test, and he's played like the guy.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
That we thought he would have coming out of college.
But isn't I mean, isn't it Brian Flores In the defense,
he's doing amazing things as well. I do. I know,
Manci's at the news squeze. I know you have a
lot going on, but I also know that you talked
to Steve Hartman about this yesterday. You guys are talking
about it today, so I'm just hoping that it's top
of mind. Do you have the Vikings defensive stats during

(15:25):
Week three?

Speaker 5 (15:26):
Yeah? So what I told him?

Speaker 6 (15:28):
Yeah, what I told him because I was gonna forget
that they were leading the NFL in sacks.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Quarterback hits.

Speaker 6 (15:34):
They were the co leader in quarterback pressures this season,
so it was just kind of like they lost Daniel Hunter,
but they still added all of these other weapons, even
drafting the guy from Alabama, Dallas Turner.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
So I just I had to it was a bad move,
by the way, right, I had.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
Them winning today, and you know, your boy Steve Hartman
thought I was crazy.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
He thought I was crazy.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
You take the victory lab because they they were victorious,
Vas for Vikings Vas for victory. By the way, there
may be a safety in the Cowboys game. Dallas has
the football, they were backed up and there's laundry on
the field. Dak was pressured and it looks like, well
he threw it to alignment and it ended up I

(16:18):
don't know if it hit Tyler Geyton, that's who ended
up catching the football. But there is going to be
something going down in Dallas as the Cowboys are down
eleven and backed up and now they're may be more
at hand. But this Viking team, like the Sam Darnold
MVP conversation, he threw four touchdowns today, did it with
a one hundred and eighty one yards. It's nice to
have Justin Jefferson there with you who gets in the

(16:41):
end zone. And I just think though it's defense driven,
it's not that they're winning shootouts. I don't think it's
an indictment on Kirk Cousins. I think that Kirk Cousins
salary may have been an indictment on what the Vikings
could do and which is why they really once he
tours Achilles last year, showed no real interest in him

(17:05):
coming back next season. Like you could see the moves
that they made, how they handled the quarterbacking situation, and
that's why he basically signed with the Falcons before free
agency even began. But to me, it's all about It's
about that defense. Because we know Aaron Jones was cast
off from Green Bay, Donald's a cast off from San Francisco,
and those stories look good. Yeah, But defensively, when you

(17:27):
hold the Houston Texans team the seven points or keep
the forty nine ers in check like you did, forcing
them to turn the football over, that's where it all
starts for me.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
With Minnesota, Yeah, I think it. I think it can
go both ways. I think it is. I think you
can be right about what you're saying with it being
the defensive leyden effort and surprise right now. But I
just think it's a total team effort. I think the
way the defense is playing and the way the offense
is playing together in sync in harmony is the reason
they're winning. I mean, they scored twenty eight points against

(17:56):
the Giants, they scored twenty three against the forty nine ers,
which is a big deal. Come back and score thirty four.
I think it's pretty balance. I think it's a pretty
balance approach going on.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Six, seventeen and seven. Not your locker combination in high school.
Those are the points given up by the Viking sign
those three games. So that's what we have here. There
was no safety in the Cowboys game. It's still fourteen
to three Ravens, but Dallas did end up punting it
back to Baltimore, as the Ravens will now take over
near midfield up eleven in that contest. Elsewhere look around

(18:28):
the league, the Lions continued to lead the Cardinals thirteen
to seven, five minutes to go until halftime. Mentioned the
Seahawks are that seventeen to three edge on the Dolphins.
The Dolphins right now facing a fourth and thirty nine,
that is not good. They will be punting it back
to Seattle, so Gino, Smith and company will have about
two minutes to do some work before the end of
the half. We mentioned the Panthers and Raiders kind of

(18:50):
off the top. Carolina continues to leave that game fourteen
to seven as they near halftime in Las Vegas, and
the Rams continue to have the football. They are up
on the forty nine ers, or excuse me, the forty
nine ers are up on the Rams fourteen to nothing,
but the Rams trying to get on the scoreboard in
San Francisco Territory. The Vikings win today was my number
one story from the early games. Do you want to

(19:11):
know what my number two story was? What you got?
The Snorre Fest? That was the Eagle Saints game today?
And I know the Eagles inconsistencies. They are two and
one man, but they could be any You could tell me, Carrie,
you could tell me a record for the Eagles through
three games that they should be and I would believe it.
You could be they should be oh and three and

(19:33):
I'd be like, yeah, that's probably right. They probably should
have tied all of their games. Like, you can make
an argument they should be three and oh. You can
make an argument they should be one and two, oh
and three, But here they are two and one with
a big win in New Orleans today.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Yeah, they're the luckiest team in the league at this point.
I mean, like you just said, it could easily be
three and oh, it could easily be oh and three.
They you know, you know, Sirianni is becoming right now,
he's becoming the Brandon Staley of the NFL. Like Staley's gone.
He's the little guy, analytic guy. And then you bring
in Sirianni. I don't even know if it's analytics. I

(20:05):
just think I think it's a different word that starts
with A. So I know, I agree with that one too.
I agree with that one too. But he's just I
get it, you want to be aggressive, but he's he's
just he's doing stuff that I've never seen a head
coach do, and it's just it's bad for me.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
I don't I don't like it at all. This this
relationship with Jalen Hurts. It was put in the spotlight
with a with a piece. I can't remember if it
was in the offseason or in the preseason, but the
disconnect that there was, I think it was in the preseason.
The disconnect that Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni had, especially
with Brian Johnson as the offensive coordinator last year. I
would love to say that things are better this year

(20:44):
with Kellen Moore, I am not sure that they are.
Jalen Hurts continues to turn the football over. No, when
you don't have a j Brown, I can understand how
you can press. They lost DeVante Smith today. He was
knocked out of the game, So Dallas Goddard's the one
who ends up you'll take a lot of the load.
I think he had ten catches for one hundred and
seventy yards in the win today. Saquon Barkley ends up

(21:07):
being the difference because of his big playability and what
he's done. But the egos are not out of the
woods yet. A big win for them today to go
on the road and to get to two and one
and beat a previously unbeaten Saints team who was the,
you know, the story of the week in a good way,
where the Panthers were the story of the week in
a bad way. But still I think it could be
oh one and two and you can make an argument
for the egos, but at some point I think this

(21:29):
Jalen hurts Nick Sirianni relationship is just going to rear
its ugly head in a bad way for Philadelphia. Whether
it happened on Monday night on the third you know
down call, if that's if Sirianni was treated unfairly for that,
the point is he never should have thrown the ball anyway.
I don't care if Saquon Barkley or whoever you wanted
to hand the ball off to, if you wanted to
do brotherly shove. Should have never have thrown the ball

(21:50):
in the first place. But those things add up. And
then when your quarterback is turning the ball over in
you're Nick Sirianni and you're getting criticized because he threw
the ball on third down and Saquon Barkley couldn't catch it.
Now there's like, well, when are my guys gonna start
making place? None of that is good for Philadelphia. So
even though they're two and one, I still feel that
this thing is brewing and at some point we'll get
to the top and maybe bubble over.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Yes, I agree with you. I'm just the thing about Siriani.
When do points become bad in a low scoring game?
In the game that we saw today with the Saints,
and and you know with the Saints and.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Eagles, kick the points.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
Stop putting yourself in positions to have to rally or
have a big drive at the end. Take the points.
Points matter. Fourth and one, fourth and two, fourth and one.
I get it, the tust puss works, fourth and two.
Take the points. It's just like it's you're trying to
be smarter than everybody else or show that you have
bigger you know, than everybody else.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
And so let's kick. Take the points. Last week's decision.
We've moved on from that, but you still can't make
a case why it made sense they got the the
winning track today. Saints, Hey, you took out the Cowboys
last week. It would have been something for you to
come in this week and get that victory. And they
had an opportunity to get that victory, scoring late and

(23:13):
taking a lead in the fourth quarter. But a two
and one start is not bad. I know you want
to win this one, but in the long run, I
don't think it's going to be as detrimental. All Right,
Monty Blanos may be mad at me because of a
fantasy question that she asked me prior to the game.
She'll explain why as there's a score in Las Vegas, mansy,

(23:33):
what is the latest?

Speaker 5 (23:37):
Hello? Hello there, I am hello.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
I just thought you were giving me the silent tree.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
Well, I do want to.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
I do want to.

Speaker 6 (23:42):
That's not a lie, Carrie, right, I mean, granted, it
was like four minutes before ten am.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
I poke my head out and I say, hello, Dan, Hi, Dan.

Speaker 6 (23:51):
Should I bench George Pickens and put in Adam Feelin
cause I want to do that.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
He's like, but he did say do what you want
it is, you.

Speaker 6 (24:00):
Know, And I was like, yeah, I just I hate
that I'm doing this three minutes before.

Speaker 5 (24:03):
Ten am, you know.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Yeah, And I didn't do it.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
It's the rule of this is the rule of this
is the rule of fantasy that I tell as someone
who co hosts a fantasy podcast with Mike Harmon called
I Want Your Flex that you can get three episodes weekly.
But I tell I tell our listeners, I say, when
you are making a fantasy decision, do what you want

(24:26):
to do? Yeah, don't go because some guy had a
guy two spots higher in a ranking of course. Yeah no, yeah, yes,
what I was I want to do?

Speaker 6 (24:34):
I just I really it was Andy Dalton right, like
that is what made me want to do it. And
so I was like, you know, I should go with
what lineup I set up first?

Speaker 5 (24:44):
Right, Like I decided to do that.

Speaker 6 (24:45):
But it was literally like Andy Dalton, Andy Dalton, will
he have a good game? Well, he has thrown three
touchdown passes, so I'm gonna say he's having a good game.
Fifteen of twenty two two hundred and twelve yards and
he has spread the ball Chuba Hubbard, Deontay Johnson, now
Adam Thielen. Panthers beating the Raiders twenty one to seven,
thirty seconds to go in the first half.

Speaker 5 (25:07):
So yes, you Onmi Starbucks.

Speaker 6 (25:08):
Stan Seahawks are beating the Dolphins seventeen to three with
one minute to go in this one. Gino Smith fourteen
of eighteen two hundred yards, one touchdown, the Ravens two
rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
It started with Lamar Jackson, then Derreck Henry.

Speaker 6 (25:21):
They're beating the Cowboys fourteen to three about six minutes
to go.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
In the first half.

Speaker 6 (25:25):
Brock Perty has connected with Juwan Jennings twice and the
forty nine ers are beating the Rams fourteen to zero.

Speaker 5 (25:30):
Two minutes to go. In the first half.

Speaker 6 (25:32):
The Lions missed an extra kick after a touchdown, but
they are still beating the Cardinals in Arizona thirteen to seven,
two minutes to go in that one the games that
wrapped up earlier today, while the Vikings stayed undefeated, you
guys were talking about it. They crushed the Texans thirty
four to seven behind four touchdown passes from Sam Darnold.
The Steelers remain undefeated. Boo, they beat my Chargers twenty

(25:53):
to ten. The Broncos with a twenty six to seven
win over the Buccaneers. Bo Nicks Rickey quarterback twenty five
of thirty six two hundred and sixteen yards, one rushing touchdown,
and he started things off with a perfect opening drive
and really never looked back.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
Baker Mayfield of Sex seven times out.

Speaker 6 (26:09):
The Packers defeated the Titans thirty to fourteen.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
Tennessee is now zero and three.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
The Eagles hold on to beat the Saints fifteen to twelve. Well,
the Giants didn't score.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
At all in the second half, and they.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
Still beat the Browns twenty one to fifteen. Daniel Jones
twenty four of thirty four two hundred and sixty two
Yards is.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
His and.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
I have just proclaimed Daniel Jones send that out. We
don't shoot five thirty four Eastern Time. Dan Byer says,
Daniel Jones's him.

Speaker 6 (26:39):
We looked at how many fantasy rosters had Daniel Jones
on and it was like two percent.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
Like nobody has Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
On their Rostey. That was family.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
That was family.

Speaker 6 (26:50):
We don't even know who started them, Like it's family.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
And maybe he's still in the bench, you know what
I'm saying. The Colts they.

Speaker 6 (26:55):
Outscored the Bears twenty one to sixteen. Now, let me
give you a little baseball stuff, Like everybody, all rise,
Aaron Judge has hit home run fifty five on the season.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Stop it him ahead of the WNBA stuff.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
I mean, alright, all rise.

Speaker 6 (27:10):
Five two Yankees are up in the bottom of the
fifth inning against the A's. Now the wildcard stuff is
obviously gonna keep moving.

Speaker 5 (27:17):
But let me tell you what's going on in the
American League. The Twins and the Royals lost.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
The Tigers won, so Detroit and Kansas City are tied
for the second and third Walldcart spot in the American League.
Minnesota is half a game out. Seattle lost. They are
now two games out. That's where that's going on in
the American League, in the National League.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
Once the game finished, I can tell you more.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
But in the WNBA, the first round of the playoffs
have started its best of three series. The Sun defeated
the Fever ninety three to sixty nine.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Caitlin Clark struggled shooting.

Speaker 6 (27:47):
She was four of seventeen from the field, two of
thirteen from the three point line.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
She ended with eleven points and eight assists.

Speaker 6 (27:53):
This was her first playoff game and she was the
unanimous Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Cheryl swoops to be coming up in like five minutes. No,
I'm kidding, I really call up. We didn't even call it.
He just is like, I want to talk about kayleb play.

Speaker 7 (28:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
Can we just keep her on hold for like two hours? Okay.

Speaker 6 (28:06):
The Liberty also did beat the Dream eighty three to
sixty nine. Right now, the links are up on the
Mercury fifty to twenty nine.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
Later today, the Aces.

Speaker 6 (28:14):
Will be hosting the Storm and Asia Wilson was the
unanimous MVP of the WNBA.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Back to you, guys, yeah, yeah, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
MANSI. Your Starbucks will be something with like redheaded foam
for Andy Dalton. Yes, could it be like a pumpkin
or cinnamon theme as they are up twenty one to seven. Yes,
as you were giving the information, the Rams did get
into the end zone, Kien Williams doing it with a
forward sumrsault, basically flipped into the end zone, scoring for

(28:44):
the Rams. Oh Man didn't get any extra points for it,
but the extra point is good. So the Rams are
within seven in that contest.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
But he'll fill that when he's forty nice.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Did you do backflip or anything? Could you?

Speaker 3 (28:58):
I could not do a baccus club now, so I
did not partake in that, but there were some things
when I would try to. I would dive an end
zone and score. And you feel that when you're forty two,
you know.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
What was your go to celebration on breaking up a pass?
Did you have one?

Speaker 7 (29:13):
I did?

Speaker 1 (29:14):
I was.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
My nickname was spider Man, so I always do like
the way up slunder, the web slinging deale.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
So yeah, I was.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
I'm a nerd, but I was able to have some
cool and this cool fun stuff happened with that.

Speaker 8 (29:27):
There you go, sp spider name a Spider game, just
like guys lout.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Well, do you have to credit that from nineteen fifty
eight or are we good? Are we? Uh? I was
like the old Ones.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
Classic.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
That's good though. We actually need a Spider Man the
core for you. Yes, for those that don't know, we
decorate our studio now during game weeks, Carrie as his
carry Roads jersey up and I know you can't see
this on the radio, but he's got his bobblehead. Now
we need to put some Spider Man gear in. Maybe
we need to put some Jamiir Gibbs gear in because
you just scored against your former team, one of your
former teams, the Arizona Cardinals. Jared Goff with the pass

(30:13):
to Jamiir Gibbs, it's gonna be nineteen to seven Detroit.
Here's the other thing that stinks with having Jake Bates
as your kicker. Now they're like, well, we got to
go for two to make this a fourteen point game,
so not when your guy misses an extra point, then
you're like, great, now he's not even gonna get an
opportunity to kick again. We'll see if you will. Where
the point after attempt is coming up for the Detroit Lions.

(30:38):
Maybe they are gonna kick it. It is still the first half.
You don't want to chase points. Maybe in this scenario you're.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Gonna kick it. But Dan, that was a hooking ladder. Oh,
that's what it was. That was the play. I haven't
seen that in such a long time. That's the whole
school right there.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
There was always the is it a hooking ladder or
hooking ladder?

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Roll?

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Like people were like, which one is it? Both are
fine with me, but hooking ladder works different? Is that
different from a statue of liberty? I can now figure
that out. The statue of liberty is where you stand
h the statue and then the player runs around, like
if you're the quarterback or tend to throw it and
then you have it in your left hand. If you're
a righty and vice versa correct or, you could throw it,

(31:16):
pump it, and then hand it around with the same
arm as well. We weren't any good in football, but
I do know a little bit about it. He is
carry outs. I'm Dan byer. The extra point was good,
so they did good job. By the way, for the
Lions to not chase points way too early. You're up.
No reason to give Arizona any sort of momentum or
reason to feel good about themselves. Yes, twenty to seven,

(31:37):
Lions lead in the Desert. Carolina's up twenty one to
seven going to halftime over the Raiders in Las Vegas.
As for the Seahawks and Dolphins, one untimed down coming
up for the Dolphins seventeen to three. The Seahawks had
too many men I believe on the field. There was
some penalty, So the Dolphins will be able to have

(31:58):
one untimed down here at the end of the half.
Maybe throw one up into the end zone. Told you
about the Kien Williams touchdown fourteen to seven Niners over
the Rams. The scary news is Trent Williams is right
now being attended to buy forty nine ers trainers. So
we'll give you an update on Trent Williams when we
know in the Ravens and what I think is our
game of the day that you could see on Fox.
Up on the Cowboys fourteen to three as they are

(32:20):
at the two minute warning in Dallas. He is carry Roads.
You come up by Erry twenty five Roads. You can
find me at dan Byer on Fox. Your fantasy numbers
and so much more next year on Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
Jarret working out of the gun, takes the Snappies back,
four man rush, Goff sets gros.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
Got onm thevaugh flicks it on the hooking ladder. Coming
inside the Fox to the end.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
Jone again fouch down Detroit Lions. Oh baby, how beautiful is.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
That he's carry rhads? I am Dan Byer and that
was a Lions touchdown on ninety seven point one the
Ticket and the Lions Radio network. Jared Goff has not
thrown an incomplete pass in the first half, and there
came against the Cardinals. They are of twenty to ten
in that matchup. Two touchdowns for golf, including the one
that you heard right there. The Ravens have just gotten

(33:12):
into the end zone again, Lamar Jackson. A touchdown passed
over Shot Bateman. Extra point is pending. It's all Ravens
today over the Cowboys twenty to three with twenty five
seconds left to go in the first half. You were
about to say something, character says the extra play is good.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
No, I was telling you when I came in earlier
to work, when we were sitting outside getting ready to
prepare for the show, I said the Ravens were gonna
put a whooping on Dallas, and right now it's holding
two to form.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
You are absolutely correct on that. The Rams and Niners,
the only game that has not gone to half that
we haven't mentioned, just went to half fourteen to seven.
Rams ended up running out the clock. Matthew Stafford missed
a big play downfield overshot. I believe it was DeMarcus Robinson,
and they just chose to end up running out the
final seconds. Seahawks up at the half on the Dolphins

(34:02):
seventeen to three in Carolina, with Andy Dalton at quarterback
leading the Raiders twenty one to seven. Is it's a
topic of conversation that we had in talking about the
Panthers and the Raiders. When you talk specifically about this game,
there's two things that pop up. Raiders home opener after
an emotional comeback win last week against the Ravens. Yeah,

(34:26):
tough to bounce back from the other thing, how do
you prepare for Andy Dalton? Meaning like your two games
of tape that you had, Yeah, were Bryce Young not
doing anything? Do you end up just watching Dave Canalis
tape from when he was with Tampa Is that what
would you do or even in Seattle and seeing some
of the stuff that to try to guess what Andy

(34:48):
Dalton is gonna do. How in the world if you're
the Raiders do you prepare for that? Considering you're bringing
in a brand new veteran quarterback and the guy that
played the first two games is now on the bench.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
Great question, Dan, Yes, you look at the you look
at the coordinator or the head coach, whoever's going to
be calling those plays. You look at their history, you
look at their tendencies with other teams and situations.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
There's a lot of work.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
And then you also have to look at Andy Dalton
as well, So the same thing like what does he
like to do in certain situations? If we run cover four?
What does he like to throw the ball? If we blitz?
Where does he like to go throw with the ball?
And do that type of stuff as well. So it's
hard to prepare for. It's one of those things you
have to do some real homework on and you get
to see which coaches really do the homework.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
I'm going to ask you an honest question, who would
you rather have as your quarterback? Andy Dalton or Gardner
Minshew that's a great question.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
I would take Gardner Minshew I and only because of
Minshew mania. Yes, he has a flair in a lot
of big situations, he does perform and do well. He
actually outperforms what you think he does. And Andy Dalton
is one that usually shrinks in those situations. All Right,
I would say Gardner. All right, Ryan Berschinger is here

(35:57):
with some fantasy numbers. I'll ask Hishood as well. First,
what do you got going on?

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Go go go fantasy heads, Sam and missing cast your votes?

Speaker 2 (36:07):
Minshew or Dalton? Would you rather have?

Speaker 9 (36:11):
Probably Minshew, But I'm about to tell you why it
could end up being Andy Dalton. All Right, I'm going
to start this off with a very fun sentence to say,
in the year twenty twenty four, Sam Darnold is currently
your QB one on the week, Malik Willis is QB two,
but by the end of the day Andy Dalton could
in fact be QB one. Sam Darnald today seventeen of

(36:34):
twenty eight for one hundred and eighty one yards and
four touchdowns. Malik Willis went thirteen of nineteen two hundred
two yards and a touchdown through the air six rushes
for seventy three yards and a touchdown on the ground.
A great day for both of those guys. Saquon Barkley
your top scoring running back on the day, seventeen rushes
one hundred and forty seven yards and two touchdowns on
the ground, four catches on four targets for nine yards

(36:55):
through the air. Malik Neighbors and Amari Cooper were pretty close,
so we'll call them both wide receive one eight catches
seventy eight yards and two touchdowns for Milik Neighbors also
had two rushes for four yards on the ground, Amari
Cooper seven catches eighty six yards and two touchdowns, and
Dallas Goddard your top scoring tight end on the week
now ten catches for a career high one hundred and
seventy yards. Looking at missus here, Anthony Richardson continues to

(37:18):
struggle with turning the ball over ten of twenty for
one hundred and sixty seven yards, two interceptions, eight rushes
for twenty four yards. The Colts still won that game,
getting all their scores on the ground, with Jonathan Taylor
and even Trey Sermon getting involved with rushing touchdowns. Rashad White,
there were a handful of misses at running back today.
But Rashad White, I'm going to focus in on because
this is a few weeks now where it's been rough

(37:40):
going for him. Six rushes for seventeen yards on the ground.
He has yet to have a game where he's averaged
three yards per carry. He's also had five catches on
six targets for eighteen yards through the air. So in
full PPR he helped you a little bit. But it
is interesting to note that, yeah, as I said, his
rushing numbers have been slow to get off this year.
Bucky Irving nine rushes for seventy yards in this one,

(38:02):
Calvin Ridley one catch on three targets for nine yards,
as DeAndre Hopkins took over the receiving numbers in that game.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
And Rashid Shahed.

Speaker 9 (38:10):
This is the story of Rashid Shahed, Right, you, I
either will get three catches for eighty yards in a
touchdown or you'll get today zero catches on five targets
for a big zero points. And those are your fantasy
hits and misses from the early games.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
All right, so you guys cast your vote for Gardner Minshew,
would you guys like to know where Gardner Minshew was
ranked in my Fantasy football preseason magazine between one and
forty one. This publication ranked forty one quarterbacks. Would you
like to know where Gardner Minshew was rated? He's thirty nine? Okay,

(38:46):
you say thirty nine, Ryan Berschinger, I'll go a little
higher at twenty eight. Okay, forty one. That's cold, per
fat Manzi's eating a burrito, so she passes. Yeah, I'll
tell you somebody hit it on the head. Twenty eight
was where Gardner Minschell? Wow? Okay? Do you like to
guess where Sam Donald was on a scale of one
to forty one? Forty one? Correct? Yeah, don't even yeah, Yes,

(39:12):
he was forty one. The likes of Bonickx, Taysom Hill,
Sam Howell, Jacoby Brissett, Drew Locke, Joe Flacco, Aidan O'Connell,
Michael Pennix all ahead of Sam Donald in this.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Did you say tied in the same hand of Donald?

Speaker 7 (39:30):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Wow? Absolutely? And would you like to know where Andy
Dalton was ranked? And our trick question he got it right?
He got it right, was not ranked at all on
this fantasy publication. Good job, guys, All right, the Cowboys
are set up. It's six seconds left. They are set

(39:52):
up for a field goal, about a fifty one yarder
for Brandon Aubrey, but it's been all Ravens twenty one
to three, lead the Dolphins seventeen to three coming out
of halftime. Panthers up on the Raiders early in the
second half twenty one to seven. As we mentioned, Niners
lead the Rams by a score of fourteen to seven
that game in La, but if you see the stands,

(40:14):
it's anything but Rams fans. We'll talk about the Niners,
how shorthanded they are and what today means for brock
Perty He's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. That's next on
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
The Lions are out of the halftime locker room, as
are the Cardinals. Just getting underway in the second half.
Detroit is a ten point lead, but they've actually got
some good news. Sam Laport of their top tight end
star tight end, was carded off in the first half,
but he has returned to action and we'll be playing

(40:50):
in the second half. Cardinals, though, do have the ball
to start this second half again down ten, as they
have the football near midfield. One of five games we
are watching in this late win as we are broadcasting
live from the tierraq dot com studios. Tierraq dot com
will help you get there an onn mech selection fast
free shipping, free road as a protection. You know over
ten thousand recommended installers. Tirec dot com the way tire

(41:12):
buying should be. It was pointed out by our teammate
here at Fox, Chris Purfett, that there seems to be
about a fifty to fifty split in Arizona when it
comes to Lions fans and Cardinals fans. It is not
fifty to fifty in Los Angeles with the forty nine
ers fans compared to the Rams fans with a sea
of red taking over Sofi Stadium. Not out of the

(41:35):
ordinary when the forty nine ers come to town, especially
when the forty nine ers are this good. That's where
I want to start this conversation. You played in Arizona.
I know it was a little while ago. What was
it like to be the home team in Arizona as
you're the Cardinals. You're coming off of that Super Bowl year.
I know you weren't on that team, but was there

(41:57):
still like a home field disadvantage because of the way
that maybe road teams would bring fans in only in
certain situations. I mean, the Carlo faith Faithful was was
pretty pretty good. But you knew that when certain teams
came in it was going to be like it was
going to be a neutral signer. That would be the Cowboys, Steelers,

(42:19):
the Raiders. Actually that makes sense, the Raiders as well,
and like Green Bay as well. Obviously they travel really well.
But those four teams, you knew it was going to
be a neutral site.

Speaker 7 (42:30):
And that is.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
That's not strange throughout the National Football League. The thing
that the point that I want to bring up, at
least with what we've seen and what we will see
on social media is this sea of red that the
forty nine ers have in LA. And it's it's not
me taking up for LA fans, although I will in
this case. I think that this is the nature of

(42:55):
the National Football League. And sure, maybe there are things
that could be done better for the Rams on a
fan base thing, and the Chargers get the same sort
of treatment. But now, if you watch a game, you
watch the Dallas Cowboys, it is not unheard of to
hear twenty to twenty five thousand at at and t Stadium.

(43:16):
I guarantee if we have the sound on in our studio,
there would be after the Ravens scored, there would be
noise being made because of the amount of Ravens fans.
They are Ravens fans, by the way, really sneaky good
fan base. Like it's not like on the level because
of the tradition, but they absolutely love the Ravens and
they'll do whatever they you know they can for the Ravens.

(43:39):
Kyler Murray tried to throw one up in the end zone,
Marvin Harrison Junior was double covered through an interception, So
the lines will take over first and ten of the
twenty up ten. But I don't think it's just as
much of an indictment as maybe social media wants it
to be, because this is the NFL. If you're a
forty nine Ers fan and you grew up in southern
California or grew up in Northern California, and you're in

(44:00):
southern California, this is the time your team comes to town.
So you're gonna buy that one ticket or buy it
on the secondary market. And that's maybe where people would
push back and say, well, these fans shouldn't sell their tickets.
It's very easy to say when you're not in the
situation and people are willing to pay five times the
amount you know, or pay for the rest of your
season ticket package. This is just the way that it

(44:22):
is with the NFL. It's the way it is with
its popularity. It's also different if you have season tickets
and you can go and watch your team any of
the other seven times, and you know this big name
team like the Steelers or the Niners come comes to town.
I just think it's more of the NFL than we realize.
Lambeau Field, you'd be surprised at actually how many opposing

(44:43):
fans there are. It's not an advantage like it is
for the forty nine Ers today. But I think that
sometimes we overreact to this. Now, if you're a Rams fan,
you hate to see a sea of red, but there
are a lot of factors that play into it. But
if we have a lot of Lions fans in Arizona, like, hey,
it's because the Lions are good now, they probably weren't
showing up for the last twenty years when the Lions

(45:05):
weren't anything. I don't think it's as big of a
deal as we want to make it and want to
sit there and criticize, you know, specifically in La or
Arizona fan base.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
Yeah, I think that's more. I think the criticizing would
definitely come more from the outside looking in the pundits,
other fans that may not be there to see their
team playing, seeing the other team color in the stadium.
But I'll tell you, I'll tell you the one person
or the one group of people that aren't worried about
how many people are there in theory or for the

(45:34):
opposite team, that would be the owners. As long as
the stadiums feel and I think they're doing okay.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
Sure, as long as the tickets are being sold and
concessions are being bought, they are good with it. Yes,
it is a game today between the Rams and forty
nine Ers where there are significant losses on both sides.
Phuguan Nakua, Cooper Cup not playing for the Rams today.
We know that forty nine Ers playing without George Kittle.
You know, Christian McCaffrey is out, deeb O Samuel not playing,

(46:02):
Nick Bosa playing today but comes in dinged up, Brandon
Aiyuk and Juwan Jennings kind of the ones handling the
receiving duties for the team today with Jordan Mason toading
the Rock that puts a lot of pressure on Brock
Party's shoulders. Rock Purty so far living up to the
I guess pressure if you will, twelve to sixteen one
and thirty three yards and two touchdowns. This right here

(46:25):
is the type of game that the narrative of Brock
Party can change. Because of the lack of weapons. And
I know that the Rams don't have the two top
wide receivers. They are dinged up on the offensive line.
They also are hurting the secondary. But still if Brock
Party can come through play well without all of the

(46:45):
weapons that we mentioned, this is how it changes. And
those who don't like Brock Party or consider themselves maybe
haters of Brock Party, that narrative will change.

Speaker 3 (46:55):
Well, this will be a start, It would be a
good start. But what you just said there is a
caveat to her, right, So the people that don't like him,
or the people that say he can't win without all
the weapons will still probably say the same thing because
of the Rams missing their key players, right, So it's
not like if the Rams would have.

Speaker 2 (47:12):
Full speed or full health.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
I think that narrative would be a little bit more
easy to change. But right now, people detractive to the
heart's like to bring back around.

Speaker 2 (47:23):
There's no doubt though that he's gonna have to do more.
His stat line may be the same, but it's it's
worth more. It's almost like the value of the dollars
that going up going down. When everybody's there, it seems
like the value of him isn't, you know, as important.
And now when everybody is gone, maybe his numbers, if
they are the same, stand out a little bit more.

(47:43):
And I'm not a Brock Party hater. I just do
think that there are better quarterbacks around the National Football
League than Brock Purty. Is he fits great in the
forty nine or system. This would go a long way,
and maybe changing my thoughts or changing my narrative around
Brock Party. And I think it does happen in situations
like this, maybe not all the time, because you know,

(48:05):
looking at a Miami Dolphins team right now that's playing
without a tongue of Iloa. They've only got three points
with Skyler Thompson as their quarterback. But if you look
at what the Dolphins have done over the last couple
of years, you're kind of pointing to, and this is
before Tua was even knocked out in that game against Buffalo.
You're saying, when is this team going to win a
big game? When are they going to win a contest

(48:26):
that they shouldn't or go to a place that maybe hostile.
They had one in Baltimore a couple of years ago,
that was earlier on in the season, but last year
they laid an egg in their Baltimore game, didn't farewell
in the cold weather game against the Chiefs. I would
say two years ago when Skyler Thompson ended up playing
a playoff game, they racked up wins against teams that

(48:47):
you should beat, and then they lost games the Christmas
Day game to the Packers in a game where Green
Bay was better than them. The point being is Tua's
reputation will change if he plays again this season or
at some point when they win a big game. Yes,
we've seen the forty nine ers win big games, but
we say, look at all the weapons around you. A

(49:09):
win today for brock Party and the forty nine Ers
I think could go just as far as any of
those playoff games and winning those games with all the
stars around him. When you have all those people missing,
and he's still abled against your rival to go into
their place and get a win. I think he can
go really far for brock Purty, I hear.

Speaker 3 (49:25):
You, yeah, yeah, No, the internal I think the internal
chatter around that organization. Obviously, there are a lot of
ancillary pieces around him that are greater than his som
right now, winning the game like this goes a long
way for them in that locker room. And I think,
you know again, as far as detractors go, the tractors
are always looking for the thing that they can hang

(49:48):
their hat on. So in this story, right here, in
this game, in particular, with the Rams, like I said,
it's just, oh oh, they weren't fool, they weren't full speed,
they weren't healthy either, So I'm not going to give
him any credit. So it's just it's that it's a
I think it matters more internally than the next tonally.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
You know what's crazy is if the forty nine ers
end up winning this game, which by the way, not
even close to being it's a seven point game. But
just if you wanted to fast forward and if it
trended like it was continuing, the Rams are zero to
three and and if Carolina now holds on to their
twenty four to seven lead over the Raiders in Las Vegas,

(50:30):
there would be one winless team left in the NFC,
and that would be the Los Angeles Rams. And if
the Seahawks continue to hold on to their lead against
the Dolphins seventeen to three right now with nine thirty
five to go, there is an injured dolphin. I'm not
laughing about the injured dolphin. I'm laughing at the response

(50:52):
of one Mike m McDaniel and Mike McDaniel, head coach
of the Dolphins. It's McDonald against McDaniel to but it
looked like Skyler Thompson got hit and is down on
the turf, And so now Tim Boyle may come in
and the Dolphins are down to the third quarterback. The
point I was making was the Seahawks would be three

(51:13):
and oh the Rams would be oh to three. Three
weeks in, the Rams would always be already be three
games out of first place. Yeah, that one I did
not see coming.

Speaker 3 (51:21):
I thought the Rams would be really uh, a Pasky
team and a team that could sneak into the playoffs. Actually,
so on three doesn't bowl well for making the playoffs.
So it's not a good star for the Rams. So
the Carolina Panthers are up twenty four to seven. Now
have the football in the red zone against the Raiders
with about seven minutes to go in the third quarter,

(51:43):
just under the seven minute mark, but it's twenty four
to seven.

Speaker 2 (51:45):
Carolina. Niners continue to lead the Rams fourteen to seven,
and the Seahawks we told you up seventeen to three
on the Dolphins, with the Lions holding on to that
twenty to ten edge against the Cardinals. The one game
we haven't talked about in the late window in those scores.
Raven it's just coming out of halftime, Dereck Henry a
big run. They're already up twenty one to six on
the Cowboys and now they're going to be in Dallas territory.

(52:08):
This is a game you from the get go today.
You like the Ravens in this one.

Speaker 3 (52:12):
Yeah, No, I mean everybody was talking about the ohe
and two start. Obviously a lot of pressure on them
to figure it out quickly, and we talked about it
last week. I said they were gonna have to find
their identity. Dereck Henry eighty four rushn yards Lamar Jackson
has only throwing the ball twelve times.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
He's eleven for twelve.

Speaker 3 (52:29):
That recipe looks like it's going to be the recipe
moving forward. Defense is playing well and this is what
I expected from Baltimore. I mean for the season, but
especially today.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
It's a get right game and to avoid zero to three,
a game the Ravens needed to have and right now
they have it again with the football in Cowboys territory
of twenty one to six. In that contest, he is
Carrier Rhoads. I'm Dan Byer, Fox Sports Radio. NFL in
sider Adam Kaplan will join us next we'll talk more

(53:01):
about what's happening in the National Football League. The Bryce
Young benching looks like to be a genius one for
Dave Canalis. Should there be a benching in another NFL town,
And I'll give you a hint, it could be the
music city. He's carry Roads on, Dan Byer. That's next
here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (53:17):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to

Speaker 2 (53:29):
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's Kerry Rhodes. I am
Dan Bayer, and this is a show put on by
the Baltimore Ravens. Twenty eight to six. Derrick Henry and
the Baltimore Ravens taking it to the Cowboys ten forty
four left and the third Henry getting into the end
zone again. He's got one hundred and ten yards on

(53:49):
fifteen carries and two scores. It's one of five games
in the late window that we're looking at. Another one
is in Arizona the Cardinals arn Lyons territory. This after
Jared Goff was picked off. Cardinal's facing a third and
two from the Lions twenty five yard line, and I
think they are just short, so they're gonna have a
fourth down decision to make down ten. I'm betting they

(54:10):
go for it. Carrie Rhoads, we'll find out what Jonathan Gannon,
your former teammate in college, will do. We'll tell you
what else is happening in the other games quickly, and
then we'll bring in our NFL inside our Adam kaplan.
Seahawks lead the Dolphins seventeen to three midway through the
third quarter. The Panthers continue to have a lead on
the Raiders they added a field goal. It's now twenty
seven to seven, and now the Raiders are gonna have

(54:32):
to punt it back to Carolina while the forty nine
Ers rock perty still a touchdown pass to Juwan Jennings. Again,
it's twenty one to seven. Niners. On top of the Rams.
We bring in Adam Kaplan as we watch Kyler Murray
try to run for a first down, and I don't
think he got it. He can his knee may have

(54:53):
been down. Adam, I don't know if you're watching the
player or not, doesn't matter. You're our NFL, inside our
Pro Football Network, inside the Birds, Kaplin, NFL. I'm trying
to introduce you and trying to decide if Kyler Murray
got the first down. I didn't think he got it.
I actually I thought that his knee went down first,
especially too, because it looked like it was a sliding motion.

Speaker 7 (55:12):
Aaron Glenn thought so too that as knee went down, Yes,
and he.

Speaker 3 (55:15):
Had a wide open receiver, you should have threw the
ball to in the first place. So we shouldn't have
had that discussion. Okay, so here's a discussion. I put
it up to a vote, and Carrie sided with one side,
and our executive producer Ryan Berschinger sided with this side.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
Who would you rather have his quarterback? Andy Dalton or
Gardner Minshew? And they both sided with Gardner Minshew. Who
would you rather have as your quarterback?

Speaker 7 (55:38):
It's close, It's it's really close.

Speaker 10 (55:40):
They're both gamers. Dalton's got a better arm. It's I
liked the Mincher's moxie.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
They're better where they're the underdogs. I mean, when they're
the favorite. The Minshew mania doesn't fit.

Speaker 10 (55:54):
Yeah, I like Mincha a little better, you know. And
Dalton has the awful primetime record, really bad in all
history as the quarter I just happened to know that
to write about it one time.

Speaker 7 (56:04):
But look in it. But look, Andy had a very
good chance.

Speaker 10 (56:07):
If he didn't, I think he broke his hand many
years ago with the Bengal two, was in the running
for MVP.

Speaker 7 (56:11):
But Mitch's a gamer.

Speaker 10 (56:13):
Look he helped pull it out that win earlier in
the season. But they're struggling badly, you know, they're struggling today.
And the boy the quarterback position was upside down today.
There's no question about yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
And the reason I bring it up, And then we'll
get into the discussion here is the point of this
is it was so bad with Bryce Young? Yeah, you
know that it was that, But that makes it, I
think even that much more magnified that you have someone
like Andy Dalton that can come in and shred another
team for almost three hundred yards and three touchdowns not

(56:47):
even three quarters into a game, and you were putting
Bryce Young out on the field, Like is it. I
know the Panthers are saying that they want him to
play at the end of the year. I think it's
to increase his trade value, so because he can't get
any worse than it is. But what do you think
will be the ultimate plan with Bryce Young after the season?

Speaker 7 (57:03):
Oh, he's definitely.

Speaker 10 (57:04):
Well the first of all, he is going to play
because he's just there's no reason not the plane at
some point. Yeah, talking to coaches over the years, let
the guy take a step back at that overview, see
what it's like from the sidelines, learn from Manny Dalton,
See how he commands the huddle and everything. I remember
talking the Jets about Zach Wilson when they benched him.
I wasn't the first time, but over the benchings they

(57:25):
thought it would benefit him and it did briefly, but
then he became who he was and guy was overdrafted
with Bryce Young guys. He had to be benched because
and Krrie knows this as a player. Players know when
a guy doesn't have it and they have no confidence
that he's going to get it, you got to bench
the quarterback. I know Dave Canals after the last game

(57:47):
said he's our quarterback. But that was before they graded
the tape. The next morning they got the owner involved,
the general managers, Dan Morgan involved. You could not put
him out in the field. He's I cannot believe how
bad Bryce Young has been. I'm surprised. I did not
expect this.

Speaker 2 (58:01):
Yeah, that's what we were talking about earlier.

Speaker 3 (58:02):
I was, you know, obviously all the the chatter of
you know, bry Seaunge and CD Stroud and that quarterback
class coming in last year. I mean, he was the
number one guy for most mostly every team at that position.
So to go into a situation in Carolina where obviously
there's no stability, there's a new concept that's brought in.
For him to be thrown in that fire was a

(58:23):
disservice for him and for me. I hope that he's
able to bounce back and get some sort of resemblance
of himself back. Do you think there's a possibility that
he can regain that and moving forward.

Speaker 7 (58:35):
It's a great question.

Speaker 10 (58:36):
I would say that the people I spoke to before
the draft, to talk to the Panthers before after the draft,
they thought he processed pretty well.

Speaker 7 (58:45):
They were aware of the body.

Speaker 10 (58:47):
Frame that was a concern, but that's not really what
was been the issue. He has had trouble processing, staring
out pass targets, not throwing the football, not aggressive his thing.

Speaker 7 (58:57):
And what's interesting about Straudus strouds make.

Speaker 10 (59:00):
The quick decisions now what I'm told when Stroud was
and again you could take it for what it's worth,
but it's true.

Speaker 7 (59:06):
He didn't interview well with them.

Speaker 10 (59:08):
The two tests they gave him, he didn't do well
with They didn't feel comfortable with him.

Speaker 7 (59:12):
You know, it's a tough deal. Look, obviously they've gotten wrong.

Speaker 10 (59:14):
Okay with Stroud, looks like he's a chance to be
all famous some day, that he's off to that kind
of start. Let's forget about today's game. But you look,
you go with the information you have and you live
with it. And they got it wrong. I mean, it's
just they they've got it wrong to this point. Now
carry as a question Kenny turning around.

Speaker 7 (59:33):
He's so bad.

Speaker 10 (59:34):
I'm just hoping this time off guys could could get
his mind right. I'm stunned because there are a lot
of people that I trust to evaluate quarterbacks. They're all wrong.
We're all at everyone. Obviously the Panthers were wrong to
this point. I'm I'm just stunne. He's I'm trying to
think of the quarterbacks that I've I've watched and looked
at before the drafts, and I'd have to go back
and make a list of the worst quarterbacks I've seen.

(59:56):
He looks just afraid to throw them. And it's just
it's it's really disappointing.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Adam Kaplan joining us here on Fox Sports Radio or
NFL Insider. He's Carrie Rhodes. I'm Dan Byer. It's Week
three in the National Football League. I wonder about the
quarterbacking situation in Tennessee. It is Will Levis not good
again today they're zero to three. Brian Callahan didn't draft

(01:00:21):
Will Levis. Brian Callahan loves to yell at Will Levis.
As we've seen in the first couple of weeks, you know,
but this is also no and today what a reflection
that Malik willis the guy that they traded, you know,
just a month or so ago to the Green Bay
Packers ends up being the starting quarterback and leading them
to a victory. Can you talk about both of those

(01:00:42):
situations and is there an opportunity where maybe the Titans
do make a change to Mason Rudolph.

Speaker 10 (01:00:47):
All right, so Callahan set after the game that Levis's
quarterback now. But the general manager, okay, the general manager,
Ran Carthun.

Speaker 7 (01:00:55):
Did draft this kid, so you can't.

Speaker 10 (01:00:59):
It's hard to walk away when the general manager drafts
Will Levis.

Speaker 7 (01:01:03):
I get it.

Speaker 10 (01:01:04):
Brian Callahan just got here this year, so he's not
responsible for him. But Ran Carthon will have to make
the final call. That'll be his call in the end,
like he could say, hey, because what will happen is
if Callahan says I want to bench him, he is
to go to Ran, and RAN's got to say, okay,
go for it or not.

Speaker 7 (01:01:18):
He could block it. That's the way it works.

Speaker 10 (01:01:21):
But it's look, I was with them two days in
training camp. What I was told was too many highs,
too many lows. He's not consistent. He's got the athleticism,
arm strength, he looks the part.

Speaker 7 (01:01:35):
Folks.

Speaker 10 (01:01:35):
I've seen this guy up close. He was practicing two
days with the Seahawks in Nashville. But the word I
got was way too high, way too low. Just you
just want to siste football. By the way, Mason Rudolph
beat out Willis like it wasn't even close Milake Willis was.
It was like Wrayson Rudolph was so far ahead of
Milik Willison. It's a good hey, mow leak. Willis did

(01:01:55):
a better job today. They got ahead of the sticks.
Their defense did it. Excellent job. I give will it's credit.
I love what Matt Laford's doing with them. Look at
work they're not. I mean feel about nineteen times s week.
They run the ball for over thirty times last week
in the first half. It works and they're getting the
job done.

Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
I think the shock of the day and not because
this team won, but the fashion that they wanted in
would be the Vikings versus the Texans today. What a
great game by the Vikings. I want you to stunt
for everybody listening at him to break down why the
Vikings are three and zero at this moment.

Speaker 7 (01:02:32):
Great coaching.

Speaker 10 (01:02:33):
Sam Darnold is he's had real problems processing over his career,
Like he'll stare down pass targets, then shuffle his feet
not what, doesn't know what to do? Fumble it will
turn it over. He's playing really efficient football. And by
Aaron Jones could still play at running back. And then
Brian Flores is now the NFL's best defensive coordinator. It's

(01:02:54):
amazing what he's doing. So you're asking me, how do
they do it? Both phases offensive defense, Flora says, Look,
he didn't do a great job. He had his issues
with two that's been well documented. Flora's to handle himself
better professionally. But his defensive coordinator so unorthodox, does stuff
like no one else does. He's unbelievable. You know, one
week he can uplets it all. The next week he

(01:03:14):
brings the kitchen sink. You don't know what he's gonna
do post snap. He's phenomenal as a defensive coordinator. And
you got to give Kevin O'Connell credit. He is a
quarterback risk for what he's doing with Sam Donald. Nobody
wanted Sam Donald. Bum folks, Yeah, he's in a West
Coast offense where he played it last year with the Niners.

Speaker 7 (01:03:31):
It's doing a great job.

Speaker 10 (01:03:32):
Yeah, carry, you're right, No one anyone who saw them
three to Oh, you're lying.

Speaker 2 (01:03:36):
There's no way, Adam Kaplan Jennings here on Fox Sports Radio.
Karen Williams into the end zone on a three yard
touchdown run for the Rams. So they're within seven of
the forty nine ers. And the Cardinals just stopped the
Lions on a fourth and one in Arizona's territory. David
Montgomery actually lost yard to John the Kerry. So the
Cardinals will take the football over, but down ten in
that game, also in the third quarter. Had to be

(01:03:58):
quite a week in Philly considering what happened on Monday,
and then now you get this game today. Sa kwon
Barkley to the rescue. But I still have concerns. I
think that any right, you know, Eagles fan in the
right mind would have concerns, what does this win? I
guess quiet down if you're a Philadelphia fan for what

(01:04:19):
we had to endure over the last week.

Speaker 10 (01:04:21):
Yeah, so what happened was Herts had an awful game
last week against Atlanta.

Speaker 7 (01:04:25):
Yesday.

Speaker 10 (01:04:25):
Barkley should have caught the ball, no question about it.
That would aviced the game, but he didn't. But Hurts
this has this real bad habit. Didn't have it today.

Speaker 7 (01:04:32):
Played very well except for the two turnovers.

Speaker 10 (01:04:34):
But he has this bad habit of rolling to the
right without pressure. And it started last year. Didn't hapen
two years ago when he was great, and last week
was really bad. And you know, I'm not going to
bench him. He's their quarterback. But he needed to get
himself together. He had a very courageous game. And remember
now both starting receivers were hurt. Aj Brown out with

(01:04:55):
a hamstring and DeVante Smith with a concussion that dots
and their third receiver There's got him right before the
season started, so he's just learning the offense.

Speaker 7 (01:05:04):
The end of the game, with three.

Speaker 10 (01:05:05):
Receivers, they're down two starting offensive linemen. There their veteran
corner Darus Lag gets hurt. He can't finish the game.

Speaker 7 (01:05:13):
And then Nick Sirianna had a did he do a
bad job that? I don't know how close you saw
that game.

Speaker 10 (01:05:17):
One of the worst jobs I've ever seen, situationally calling,
just handling situations about when to go, when to go
for fiel goal and not how do you how do
you pass up a fifty four yarder earlier in the
game and then you're up, by the way you're up,
and you go for sixty yarder which wasn't even close.
But I couldn't believe it. That wasn't the only thing

(01:05:37):
he did. He's he's what we call CEO ed coach,
which he's been really since he gave up play call
in the first year. But it's not a scheme anymore.
He gave it up and he's just doing some stupid stuff, folks.
And why the way Jwan Jennings is unbelievable that.

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
Yeah, he's playing really well. I just saw that catch.

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
It's kind of sticking with the Eagles are there's something
that seems really off to me about them from the
outside looking in.

Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
I don't know if that's the case.

Speaker 7 (01:06:01):
How so how do you see that?

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
Yeah, just like the body language of players and interactions
with the coach, I mean, Nick Sirianni's like he's very
expressive and you see a lot of those guys kind
of avoiding him a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Is that Is that? Is that accurate? Or no?

Speaker 10 (01:06:15):
No, they like him, But I know nationally around the league,
people don't like the way he handles himself. Yeah, I
would tell you we didn't talk about the defense very
quickly here. They were terrible against the run the first
two weeks. Their edge rushers did not have a sack
heading into the game. I don't even know if they
had one today. But Jalen Carter number ninety eight the
first round of last year, was incredible today. He took

(01:06:36):
the game over. Yeah, Derek Carr did not play well.
I'm not absolving him. He had his happy feet again
when he starts checking the ball down thrown of the dirt.
This has been his entire career. But Eagle's defense took over.
I'm stun I picked the Saints. I didn't think that.
I'm like, there's no way they're gonna win after that
awful performance, Kurry, I'd ask you this question as a
next player, when your team had a bad loss, did

(01:06:56):
you want it to be on it?

Speaker 7 (01:06:57):
Did you look forward to a short week or did
it matter?

Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
Yeah? So what week mattered?

Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
I mean, if you had a bad week, you want
to get back out there and and turn that around
as soon as possible.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
So definitely, for sure, you.

Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
Don't want that that bad feelings of linger in the
locker room.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
You want to get back out there and get you know,
get to it right away.

Speaker 10 (01:07:13):
Yeah, because it probably helped them, because man, that was
a really bad loss and they were getting killed here
by the media and the fans, and they come up
with an incredible win. And now we'll see they play
at Tampa, who got absolutely spanked at home and embarrassed
last Today there are Tampa. Then the Eagles have a
week five by I'm interested to see who's going to

(01:07:33):
be available, because right now, folks, I have three healthy receivers.

Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
How do you explain the Cleveland Browns right now? Man,
the Giants go to Cleveland. The Browns, I think there
are two scoring drives. The one was set up on
the fumble of the opening kickoff. They had a shorter
field than they had to go about fifty yards for
the for the second one. But the Giants seem to
be playing hard the league. The neighbors seems to be
the you know, the terrific yeah, the guy, but I

(01:07:59):
mean the brown It just seemed like an absolute mess.

Speaker 7 (01:08:01):
Yeah, And give Daniel Jones credit.

Speaker 10 (01:08:03):
Play with great poise today, under control. He didn't turn
it over, did it really did an excellent job, made
some really good throws. It's good to see him healthy.
But look Deshaun Watson. He's a little better last week,
but very up and down. And then this game to
the fumbles just not acceptable. They don't run the ball

(01:08:24):
particularly well, and I was surprised. Jim Schwartz's defense, which
is generally very good, it didn't have a great day today.

Speaker 7 (01:08:29):
And they have a quarterback problem.

Speaker 10 (01:08:31):
They're stuck with a contract they got two more years
after this season of fully guaranteed money about ninety million.
They should have brought back to a Flacco, but that
was not going to happen. That's another story for another time.
They should have, but they actually told Flackley they bring
him back, and then they changed their minds.

Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
That's the real cheeze.

Speaker 10 (01:08:47):
You should know that they actually were going to bring
him back. The agent was at the combine, the belief
was there. They were under the pressure and he was
coming back and I don't know why. Well, there's some
theories why bring back Flacco, but that was a mistake
and they looked it's a shane. The Browns fans deserve
better with all the money they've spent, the GM and
the head coach, got their contract extended, and they're dealing

(01:09:10):
with a really bad quarterback situation.

Speaker 7 (01:09:12):
It's not going to get better.

Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
He's Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider. Hear
him on the Inside the Birds podcast, read them at
Pro Football Network, and you can hear them right here
on Fox Sports Radio and hit them up on Exit
Kapelin NFL. Thanks Adam, talked to you in week four.

Speaker 7 (01:09:25):
That's good guys, Thanks Adam.

Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
Manci Belanios is here with the latest five games going on.
Things a little bit closer in LA, but the Niners
doing some damage and so much more. What's going on, Manzi.

Speaker 6 (01:09:35):
I'm just happy I'm not playing against Jawan Jennings, but
I am playing against Kyron Williams.

Speaker 5 (01:09:40):
So one of the many reasons I hate fantasy football.
Why do I do it?

Speaker 6 (01:09:44):
I don't know. If forty nine ers are upon the
Rams twenty one to fourteen, they're about to start the
fourth quarter, the Rams are knocking on the door to score.
There the forty nine ers are knocking on the door
to score. They're at the Rams eighteen yard line, and
that's how they're going to start.

Speaker 5 (01:09:56):
The fourth quarter.

Speaker 6 (01:09:57):
The Lions deep they have the ball back, but they
made an interesting decision. They went for it on fourth
and one at Arizona thirty five yard line and they
didn't get it, and so the Cardinals got the ball back, and.

Speaker 5 (01:10:08):
Then they didn't do anything. So the Lions now have
the ball again.

Speaker 6 (01:10:10):
It's twenty to ten, ninety seconds to go in the
third quarter. The Ravens Derek Henry with another rushing touchdown.
They extend their lead over the Cowboys and it's all
Baltimore this entire game.

Speaker 5 (01:10:19):
Twenty eight to six is a score.

Speaker 6 (01:10:21):
Two and a half minutes to go in the third
quarter for the Dolphins, Skyler Thompson will not return.

Speaker 5 (01:10:26):
He has a chest injury.

Speaker 6 (01:10:28):
Tim Boyle is in at quarterback for Miami, but the
Seahawks are on top seventeen to three. They're about to
start the fourth quarter and the Panthers are at Las
Vegas is one yard line. It's second in goal. Will
Andy Dalton throw a fourth touchdown pass or are.

Speaker 5 (01:10:41):
They going to rush it in? It looks like they're
may be rushing it in as we speak.

Speaker 6 (01:10:44):
But right now the Panthers are beating the Raiders twenty
seven to seven. Early in the fourth quarter, earlier today
in the NFL, two teams are still undefeated. The Vikings
they crushed the Texans thirty four to seven, and the
Steelers they took down the Chargers twenty ten. Justin Herbert
did leave the game in the second half for LA
because of that ankle injury. It was reaggravated. He never

(01:11:05):
came back in and the Steelers were able to stay
undefeated with that one. A little baseball because Joheo Tani
has stolen two bases, so bringing his total to fifty
five on the season.

Speaker 5 (01:11:16):
But the Dodgers are losing to the Rockies five to four.
They're about to start the bottom of the eighth inning.
Aaron Judge did hit his fifty fifth homer of the season.

Speaker 6 (01:11:23):
New York is up on the A's right now, six '
four bottom of the eighth inning.

Speaker 5 (01:11:28):
One game of the WNBA happening right now.

Speaker 6 (01:11:30):
As the playoffs started today a best of a best
of three series in the first round, the Mercury were down.

Speaker 5 (01:11:35):
They still are, but now just by one.

Speaker 6 (01:11:37):
The Links are on top eighty two to eighty one,
six minutes left in the game.

Speaker 5 (01:11:42):
Nafisa Collier for Minnesota.

Speaker 6 (01:11:43):
She's leading the game with thirty three points, while the
Fever lost already to the Sun ninety three to sixty nine.

Speaker 5 (01:11:49):
Caitlin Clark eleven points, eight assist. She was voted as
the Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 6 (01:11:54):
The Liberty took down the Dream eighty three to sixty nine,
and still to come. In the WNBA, the Aces will
be hosting the Storm at ten Eastern, where Asia Wilson
was voted the unanimous.

Speaker 5 (01:12:04):
MVP of the league, her third MVP. Back to you, guys, I.

Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
Feel like it's the sixteenth time the Fever have played
the Sun this season. I don't know why, but.

Speaker 6 (01:12:12):
Well, because they're seventeen, so it's just all fla the
same way. It really feels that way.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
Yes, Miles Sanders was the one that got into the
end zone for Carolina, so they then decided they decided
to go for two, because why not when you're up
twenty six the Raiders, who have seven points all game,
and there's twelve minutes to go, why not make sure
it's a twenty eight point lead, just in case they
would score four unanswered touchdowns. I don't know if Dave

(01:12:38):
Canalis is feeling himself, but seemed like a little much
as there's only thirteen minutes it I thought there was twelve,
but thirteen minutes left in the game. Carolina's up thirty
three to seven.

Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
Poured on Canal. Let's pull it on, baby, this is it,
get this win and pull it on.

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
Oh man, I thought like they scored the touchdown and
Monty was doing the report and I'm I'm like, well, wait,
why are they going for two? Like I understand like
to make it a twenty eight point game, but there's
also the weight of all right, what are we doing here?
It's thirty four to seven. The Raiders at some point
are gonna quit.

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Well, it looks like it's a five touchdown game now there. Hey,
he's scoring a whole bunch of points tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
I think that they were all right, and I think
they could have just kicked the extra point and be
good with it. He is carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer.
Monzi talked about the day for Juwan Jennings. There were
some other big play performances and some not so much.
He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer, Live from the tirerech
dot Com studios. Your fantasy numbers next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:13:39):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio Chocolate Kohler, the
tight end to the right, Isaiah likely the tight end
to the left.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
It gives it.

Speaker 4 (01:13:47):
Derek Henry running right at the middle, he's got a
hole past in a fifteen hand me to the ten.

Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
The five touch down right ends. The train is rolling
and the King scores again, rolling over the Cowboys twenty
eight to six. Ravens lead at the end of three
in Dallas ninety eight. Rock the Ravens Radio Network with
that highlight. Yeah, it's been all Baltimore today wearing their

(01:14:14):
spiffy purple uniforms. They'll have a purple alternate helmet coming
out later this year. It's already been released. They just
haven't worn it yet, but they look very sharp. Dory,
I have the purple one. I'm laughing at your Cowboys
upside down hillmet there. That's pretty neat. We bring in
some decorations in this year's edition of Red Zone Radio.
I'll take some of my mini helmet collections and pair

(01:14:35):
them up with the matchups that we have in this
late window. So today I brought Seahawks Dolphins, and I
brought Ravens Cowboys, and I just felt it was fitting
to turn the Cowboys one upside down. We were joking
about Dave Canalis going for two. Well, maybe there was
reason to do so. The Raiders just scored Jacobe Meyer's
touchdown reception from Gardner Minshew and then Myers caught the

(01:14:59):
two point conversion. So what's an eighteen point game? Carolina
right now leading the Raiders thirty three to fifteen, ten
fifty six left to go, still joking that they should
have just kicked the extra point. There was no need
to do so. Seahawks on top of the Dolphins seventeen
to three. Dolphins unable to cash in. They were deep

(01:15:20):
in Seattle territory. Skyler Thompson's out of the game for Miami.
Tim Boyle is now at quarterback, but the Seahawks up
with ten minutes to go in that contest, and the
Lions continue to have that twenty to ten lead on
the Cardinals early in the fourth, the Niners kicked a
field goal. They're up ten on the Rams twenty four
to fourteen. Early in the fourth, Let's take a look
at some fantasy numbers with Ryan Berschinger. All right, bursch Yeah,

(01:15:42):
what do we got.

Speaker 9 (01:15:42):
Let's take a look at the hits and misses from
the five games in action right now, Andy Dalton still
has not yet eclipsed Sam Darnold for QB one on
the week, but he is close. Twenty two of thirty
one for two hundred and eighty six yards and three touchdowns.
Well done, Andy. Also Lamar Jackson for good measure ten
for eleven for one hundred and sixty one yards and
a touchdown, passing eight rushes for sixty one yards and

(01:16:04):
a touchdown on the ground. Your top scoring running back
from these games is Dereck Henry seventeen rushes for one
hundred and twenty two yards and two touchdowns on the ground,
also had a twenty three yard catch. So the Ravens
running all over the Cowboys right now. As we've talked about,
Juwan Jennings is your new wide receiver one on the week.
Six catches on seven targets for one hundred and two
yards and three touchdowns, so taking advantage of no Debo

(01:16:28):
and no George Kittle there for the Niners. And your
top scoring tight end from these games it's Brock right
who is on the Lions, by the way, four catches
on five targets for thirty four yards. Yes, Sam Laporta
has been banged up in this game, but yet Jared
Goff decides this is the week to throw to the
tight end position. A lot of hits, a lot of

(01:16:49):
misses going in these games. Right now, Let's see Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys are charging right now. But at the moment,
Dak Prescott is fifteen of twenty eight for one hundred
and ninety two passing yards, no touchdowns whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
There.

Speaker 9 (01:17:04):
We do have to mention, yes, Davonte Adams two catches
on four targets for twenty one yards, Jackson Smith and
Jig But despite the Seahawks winning this one one catch
on one target for fifteen yards. Isaiah likely has not
been terribly involved for the Ravens today. One catch on
one target for four yards. And we do have to
mention what the Dolphins are doing on the losing side

(01:17:25):
of the Seahawks Dolphins game. Of course, with no Tua,
you have Skyler Thompson and now Tim Boyle, so devon
a Chan eleven carries for thirty yards on the ground,
three catches for twenty eight yards on five targets through
the air. Tyreek Hill three catches on forty on five
targets for forty yards. Jalen Waddle four catches on five
targets for twenty six yards. So it's gonna be rough

(01:17:47):
going for your Dolphins fantasy pieces in Tua's absence.

Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
I did not understand the Green Bay acquiring Malik Willis
in the trade prior to the start of the season
to back up Jordan love Boy. Was I wrong, But
I will say I didn't understand them going with Skuyler
Thompson as the backup to Tua. I just I know,
like you get a guy in your system. You know,

(01:18:11):
Mike White spent a little time at the Dolphins as well.
We saw him a couple of years ago be able
to throw the football around, and I think that, you know,
that's kind of what you need. And Skylar Thompson unfortunately
got hurt in this game, but even when he was
in the game, the Dolphins weren't doing anything in a
weird way. It's it's quite the tip of the cap
to what two actually does.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
Yeah, anybody in the sneaky pickup, I think that could
help them with Tyler Huntley and so he just he
just got there all. I mean, obviously he wouldn't play today,
but I think, look, look for him next week to
get some playing time.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
Don't you have to have a better plan. Again, I
don't love like backup quarterbacks like I don't think that
it's you know, the the end all be all, But
if your team is going to fall off the cliff
like this, then there's we're like like the Chiefs, if
Patrick Mahomes would be injured, it doesn't matter really who's playing.

(01:19:04):
I mean, there's no one like Patrick Mahomes. But look
to see what Andy Dalton's doing today. I mean, why
couldn't the Dolphins have done something like that. You know,
they'd write Fitzpatrick a couple of years ago. Yes, you know, so,
I know it's a different coaching regime at that time
for what it is now, but to me, it just
seems like they're very ill prepared.

Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
Yeah, I think a lot of times you have to
have a veteran quarterback like Andy Dalton want to be
a part of that system, to be a part of
the backup situation where I mean, you would think in theory,
it would be great for him to be in Miami,
right like with my with with Tua's injury history, to
have somebody like that who could steady the ship would

(01:19:44):
be a smart decision, but also that person, the player,
Andy Dalton, would have to believe that's a good situation
for him as well. Going to Carolina, I don't know
if he has history with Canalist or not, but the
way Bryce Lunn played that first year, I could see
him wanting to go there.

Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
He is carry row. I'm Dan Byer. Just to let
you know, the Raiders forced a are forcing a Carolina
Panther's punt to come back underway. It's thirty three to fifteen,
nine to twenty two to go. This thing is not over.
Remember the Panthers defense gave up forty seven in week one,
so who knows this one's not over just yet. Line's

(01:20:22):
up ten nine ers up, ten c X up fourteen,
Ravens up twenty two. We'll have the conclusions of those
games next on Fox.

Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
Okay, now we know why it was silly of Dave
Canalis to go for two when they were up thirty
three to seven. It's probably not gonna matter, but I'll
be able to at least explain it just a little bit.
His carrier roads, I'm Dan Bayer. As we are broadcasting
live from the tierrach dot com studios tyerraq dot com.
We'll be get there at unmatched selection, fast free shipping,

(01:20:54):
Free road has a protection and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tirec dot com the way tire buying should be. We
aren't going to focus on what's happening in Las Vegas
right now. We're going to fact focus on what is
happening in Los Angeles. As the Rams have a third
and goal from the fifteen yard line, and they're gonna
probably settle for a field goal as Matthew Stafford unable

(01:21:16):
to complete a pass to believe us to DeMarcus Robinson
and it's incomplete out of bounds. So it's a ten
point game, twenty four to fourteen under seven minutes to go.
The Rams kept their drive alive by going forward on
fourth and one, getting it with Kyraen Williams penalty backed
them up. They had a you know, a goal to

(01:21:37):
go situation from the fifteen, weren't able to do anything.
Now gonna have to settle for three.

Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
Yeah, No, it's the Rams are plan tough. I mean
this game, I mean, obviously everybody shorthanded, but you know,
they're sticking around, They're giving themselves a.

Speaker 2 (01:21:49):
Chance to win this game.

Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
And you know it's it's gonna come down to what
you talked about earlier, brock Perdy, get getting them a
big time win here, getting a couple of first downs
to on this clock out and try to end with
the victory for the forty nine ers.

Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
For all intentsive purposes, things are over in Seattle, Hawks
up twenty four to three on the Dolphins with four
and a half minutes to go, but still some football
to play. In Arizona twenty to ten. As you heard
Manci say midway through the fourth quarters, the Lions have
that ten point edge. Arizona's had their opportunities, They've gotten stops,
they just haven't been able to get past this. This

(01:22:24):
Lion's defense, who really had something to prove after last
week and they're lost at home to the Buccaneers. But
the Lion's now going to try to work the clock
and rub things down. With that double digit lead with eight.

Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Minutes to go, Yeah, the Lions are trying to close out,
you know, a win, a big win for them. Actually
at this point of time in the season, they're coming
off a thorough beat down in Tampa Bay, and then
you know the head coach came out and was very
emotional about the way he handled that situation in that game.
So big bounce back for the Lions so far.

Speaker 2 (01:22:55):
And Dave Canal should have kicked the extra point because
Gardner Minshew threw an interception, the Panthers got a deep
en Raiders territory, work the clock, they had to settle
for a field goal. It's thirty six to fifteen. If
you would have kicked the extra point, would have made
it a twenty two point game. So there's the reason
on why Dave Canalis should have gone for the extra
point instead of going for two in that scenario. Cowboys

(01:23:17):
aren't quite done yet. Cavante Turpins caught a pass from
Dak Prescott down to about the one yard line and
the Cowboys though down twenty two in this contest, so
that's where the late games end up sitting up. Rams
did make their field goals, so it's twenty four to
seventeen forty nine Ers taking it over first and ten
from the thirty yard line, again playing severely short handed

(01:23:41):
on offense. To Carrie's point, we'll see what brock Purty
can do because it's been a lot of Juwan Jennings
today in place of the injured Deebo Samuel and George Kittle.
I want to bring up two things. Then we're gonna
have carry break down in his great segment Fast Times
with Carrie Rhoads breaking down one of the big plays
of the day. We haven't talked a lot about the
Chargers and Steelers. You have said a couple of weeks

(01:24:04):
ago on the show, you think that Justin Field should
continue to have the job. They're now three and oh.
I'm not saying I'm coming over to your side, come
on over, Dan, because information has changed. I do think
they're gonna need Russell Wilson at some point, but now
we're at the point where Pittsburgh really can't make a change.
Three and oh. Defense is playing well. The running game,

(01:24:27):
Najie Harris, Cordero Patterson. You know where Arthur Smith goes,
Cordero Patterson goes. Yes, he was a factor today. Pittsburgh
picks up a solid win against the Chargers, and now
they're three and oh, and it looks like it's going
to be Justin Fields gig the rest of the way.
Very solid game.

Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
I mean, this is the first game where you know
they allow Justin Fields to open it up a little
bit more. He was twenty five or thirty two, two
hundred and forty five yards a touchdown. He did have
an interception, but play really well. And again he's not
doing things to cause his team games right now. Obviously
he's been very smart about delegating the ball, getting it

(01:25:04):
out quick, making the right decisions. You got to stick
with the guy moving forward.

Speaker 2 (01:25:08):
I'll tell you what decision I didn't like today because
I know Hindsight's twenty twenty. But still there's information that
you get, just like the play with the Eagles and
Falcons Hindsight's twenty twenty. But the fact is is if
you don't pass the ball and you run the ball
on third down, you at least take another forty seconds
off the clock in Philadelphia Hindsight's twenty twenty. But that

(01:25:30):
is true Hindsight's twenty twenty with the charges and Justin
Herbert that Justin Herbert has an ankle injury. And yeah
he got dinged up and had to leave today, but hey,
you were two, and oh, go play the game.

Speaker 4 (01:25:42):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
Next week, the Kansas City Chiefs come to town you're
two and zero, and if you were to say carry
start of the season, you have the Raiders at home,
on the road at Carolina, on the road at Pittsburgh.
So you stay out on the East coast, you get
through those three games and you go two to one.
I think you would take that. You wouldn't take it

(01:26:05):
in a way to jeopardize your quarterback. And that's what
I think the Chargers did. Justin Herbert went through his
workout today, full workout on the field, doing the whole deal,
ended up starting for the Chargers despite that high ankle sprain,
but then had to leave in the game because of
the ankle injury. Was seen in a walking boot afterwards. Yeah,
now he's playing in a game, and you have the

(01:26:26):
Kansas City Chiefs coming to town a week from today
in what could be a huge game. Considering how well
your season started out. I don't think this was the
game to play Justin Herbert today, if you're the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (01:26:37):
Yeah, I understand that point of view. I think as
a player and their head coach as a former player,
if you can play, you're going to play. You can't
start trying to just the importance of a game of
that being the reason why the player players or not plays.
That's just how it happens internally with especially a team

(01:26:59):
that has a former player as a coach, right, he
wants to be out there and play all the plays.
I'm sure you know, hardball's bringing that tough mentality, that
tough workmanlike mentality to that team and it's been successful
to this point, and I think it's probably carried over
to Justin Herbert. So you can't really play the games
that you know, like you said Hindsight twenty twenty, this
game is one that we could possibly let go. The

(01:27:21):
chiefs of the Vision opponents coming in next week, let's
have them ready for that one. If he can play,
he's going to play. And probably that's probably where we
stood with this decision.

Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
I just think that he could have really have used
another Sure, just a week of rest and you take
take whatever this week is going to be. Yep, Listen,
you're actually playing a Steelers team where the over under
in that game was about someone on the mid to
high thirties thirty five. So you know, look at that
that was quick, way too quick. But you know what

(01:27:52):
type of game are gonna play? Yeah, you know what
we know what everybody knows it. So if you take
care of the football and play smart football, there's no
reason to put a quarterback at risk. Maybe you could
have had Taylor Heineke do what he needed to do
and you steal a win, and if you don't, you don't,
so be it. I just thought that it was risky,
knowing what we know. Justin Herbert leaving today's game against

(01:28:14):
the Steelers left in a walking boot. Harboss said the
first sign of a limp, he was gonna pull Herbert
out of there, and and he did, and he didn't
play the rest of the game. But I also think
that he's covering up for possibly an aggravation to that
ankle injury for Justin Herbert. And at what cost, I'm
not so sure. We'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 3 (01:28:34):
The Cowboys has got onside kick here, so they got
the ball back after a score down sixteen, So things
may be getting a little interesting in Dallas as well.

Speaker 2 (01:28:42):
It is twenty eight to twelve in favor of the
Ravens with eight to fifty one to go, the Cowboys
getting into the end zone Dak Prescott a one yard
was it a one yard touchdown run from Dak and
then they failed to get the two point conversion that
is the scenario to twelve again, eight twenty left to

(01:29:03):
go in that contest. And in Arizona, scary situation here
where Trey McBride was just helped off the field after
catching about a nine yard pass from Kyler Murray. A
Lion's defender was both were very slow to get up.
I don't know if they hit helmets or what the
deal was, but Trey McBride is being helped off by

(01:29:26):
trainers for Arizona in a game that they are down ten.
Detroit leads that contest, but I hope I didn't see
who the player was that was injured for Detroit. But
if we have an update, we'll get it to you.
A six twenty nine left to go, Lions up ten
in that contest, Seahawks putting the finishing touches on their
win against the Dolphins. A huge win today for the
Philadelphia Eagles and a huge play by one of their playmakers.

(01:29:49):
Let's break it down with the former All Pro all right, Kerry.
Here's the situation. Three nothing, Saints on top of the
Eagles early in the fourth quarter, facing a second down
and five from their own thirty five yard line. Here's
how it sounded.

Speaker 7 (01:30:05):
It is second down of five. Did they keep it
on the ground with Saikwon Barkley? They do.

Speaker 3 (01:30:10):
He breaks three, He's at the tofte the party.

Speaker 1 (01:30:14):
He's going to go touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:30:18):
Barkley ninety four WYP and the Eagles Radio Network. How
did the Tide turn on Saquon Barkley's big run.

Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
Well, on that play, you want to look at three things,
and I want to identify three things for you down
in distance number one, number two responsibilities. Number three bad angles,
which equals bad football, and so on this play, Philadelphia
they like, they like to go four on fourth down right,
So on second down for them, it's pretty much the
first down play second and five. They run the ball

(01:30:52):
obviously because they know they're going to run into the game.
The next play, nice little you know, hand off to
the left, Saquon Barkley beats it and goes over right,
and so on the defensive side of the ball, and
the reason why it was a big play is the
Saints were in man and man coverage. The linebacker had
sa Kuon Barkley, and so with the read the RPO
play that you know, the Eagles like to run. He

(01:31:13):
has to slow down for a second because he doesn't
know if the quarterback is going to keep it, so
that one false step gives Sakauon Barkley the angle. He
comes over late, the middle linebacker misses, and the other
bad person on that play. The bad person on that
play was the free safety. He came up, took a
bad angle, and once Sakauon Barkley got through that first
line of defense, he's fast enough to take it to

(01:31:36):
the house. And that's the difference right there with Saquon
and the other running backs in this league.

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
If he gets to that second level, he can take
it the distance. You mentioned it was an RPO situation.
I would think that your first worry would be Sakwon Barkley,
is it in that situation?

Speaker 3 (01:31:50):
Well, yes, that would be your first worry, But you
also have a guy that's man to man, so you
can't really get caught up in that or have any
fault steps. He had a false step, he was behind
on the play. Say Kwan got a crease, takes it
the distance, a big touchdown for the Eagles and the
game change and play in that game to turn the
tide there.

Speaker 2 (01:32:11):
It is fast times with carry Roads breaking down the teen. Yeah,
there it is.

Speaker 4 (01:32:18):
Let me hear it again, fast times win Carrie Rose,
I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
I love it. We've got a developing situation here in
Los Angeles. The Cowboys have gotten into the end zone.
Jalen Tolbert with a touchdown for Dallas, so it's twenty
eight eighteen. Jake Moody missed a fifty five yard field
goal for San Francisco, so the Rams took over with
about two forty left to go, and Matthew Stafford has

(01:32:45):
just hit two two at well for a big play
that will take them inside the forty nine ers five
yard line. They are at the two minute warning in
La Niners twenty four Rams seventeen. By the way, can
considering how short handed the Rams are as the Cowboys
go for two after their touchdown, still not over, dak

(01:33:06):
Is running around, throws it into the end zone and
missus Rico Dowdell, so it will remain a ten point
game in favor of the Ravens. Seven h seven left
to go. Cowboys have all the timeouts, so do the Ravens.
But in this Rams situation, it's obviously four down territory.
But it's also if you score. I think it's two
point conversion territory. If you're the Rams, go for the win. Huh,

(01:33:28):
why not? Considering how shorthanded you are? Forty nine ers
have moved the ball. Juwan Jennings is at a career game.
Why not try to take the lead at that point.
It's essentially a road game even though you're at home,
So why not go by the road rules? Go for
two if you're on the road in that scenario, and
try to take the lead. We've got some other happenings

(01:33:48):
going on. The Cardinals are a bit closer to the
Detroit Lions. Matt Prater has just kicked a field goal
for Arizona forty five yard or twenty to thirty. Detroit's
up on the Cardinals three forty eight left to go
in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals have just one time
out in the game. The Raiders and Panthers Aidan O'Connell's

(01:34:11):
into the game four Las Vegas. They have just scored
a touchdown, pulling them closer with about a minute to go.
The touchdown is being reviewed. I think that they are
calling it good so the Raiders will get Yes, they are,
because they're on to kick the extra point. So the
Raiders getting a bit closer, but time maybe running out.

(01:34:34):
Fifty six seconds left, it's a thirty six to twenty
two Panthers lead over the Raiders. Trey Tucker a seventh
catch of the game, getting into the end zone for
ninety six yards. So that's where we stand in these
late games. The Cowboys you mentioned kicked an onside earlier,
got it for some reason. They just did it again

(01:34:55):
for no reason. You've just gotten within ten with ten
minutes to go, and you have all three of your timeouts,
so you just gave the Ravens short field. That doesn't
make any sense whatsoever. We'll try to make sense of it.
He's Carry Roads. I'm dan Byer, Seahawks going on their

(01:35:15):
way to that victory over the Dolphins. The rest of
these games still yet to be determined. In Week three

gonna stay. We're not gonna take a time out because
the Rams are knocking out the door here. They're back
from the two minute warning. They were unable to cash in.

(01:35:58):
It's second and goal. The forty nine have actually used
the time out for the scenario that we brought up
Rams score. Maybe they go for two and get to
the forty nine ers are gonna want some time on
the clock for them to pull even. But so the
Rams are sitting here now in a second in goal situation,
Carrie wanting to use as much time on the clock.

(01:36:18):
Will they stick on the ground or do you put
it in the hands of Matthew Stafford who shot a
couple of weapons you.

Speaker 3 (01:36:23):
Got to, you gotta I'll probably put it in Matthew
Stafford's hands. I don't think they're going to be able
to run this ball into the end zone. I think
they're gonna have to make a pass to get it in.
Just be smart with it, get it out. Obviously it's
got to be quick. But yeah, I think it's gonna
put it in Matthew Stafford's hands. He trusts him.

Speaker 2 (01:36:40):
I would throw it as well, for the simple reason
is I don't think that clock's the clock's going to
be an issue. Well we're wrong, and they got it
into the end zone Kyron Williams a touchdown run. I
know Ryan Burschinger as Kyen Williams in fantasy football because
he's walked up to the screen every time the rams
have been closed, and he just gave a windmill of fistbumps.

(01:37:04):
So the rams are in. But now you gotta go
for two. I think you think so. Yeah, it's twenty
four to twenty three. If you kick the extra point,
you're tied. The forty nine ers are still gonna try
to attempt the field goal to try to win the game.
It's not like they have to go down and score,
so you might as well try to get the edge
here and wrong again. This is why Dan is not
a head coach. Don't listen to me, Sean McVay is

(01:37:27):
my wife. Just don't listen to Dan whatsoever I get,
I take me through. Let's this is what we'll do.
Since the Rams have scored, they're gonna take a time out.
We're gonna take our timeout. Then we can hopefully match
up to see what the forty nine ers do with
a football. He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. Will break
down that late game situation as the Niners and Rams
are tied late here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:38:02):
Drama in Los Angeles. He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer.
It's Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Let's get you to it.
When we left you, the Rams had just scored and
kicked an extra point to pull even with the forty
nine ers on the other side of the two minute warning.
The forty nine Ers got the ball tied up at
twenty four, but the Rams got a stop. Forty nine

(01:38:23):
Ers punted away. Rams get a decent return and now
we could have a pass interference call. A flag is
on the field that could set the Rams up in
field goal territory with thirty seven seconds left, they'd be
in Niners territory. The official spot of the foul. There
are two penalties on San Francisco. Actually I think back three,

(01:38:47):
there are three penalties on San Francisco. That's what took
so long. Cleate Blakeman is giving the explanation. So the
forty nine ers were unable to do anything after the
Rams pulled even at twenty four, and now the Rams
have an opportunity to go for the field goal. I
thought the Rams should have gone for two at that point, right,

(01:39:08):
They did not. They kicked the extra point. You said,
this is the reason why. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:39:12):
The reason why I thought they were going to kick
the extra point and that particular situation is just the time.
So it was it was a lot of time left
it it was over a minute. It was like a
minute and a half left in the game, and so
it didn't really matter if you went for it early.
San Francisco is still going to have time to go
down and kick a field goal. So they kicked the

(01:39:32):
extra point, trusted their defense got to stop, and now
they got a chance to win this game, which seemed
improbable a little while ago.

Speaker 2 (01:39:39):
So it's twenty four. All the forty nine ers have
one timeout and they're just letting the clock run. So
what Stafford's going to do on second and four, He'll
snap it and spike it and attempt a field goal
from about thirty seven yards. What's going on in Dallas
is this Dak Prescott is just throwing a touchdown pass
to Cavante Terpin. It is now twenty eight to twenty

(01:40:01):
five Dallas. This is the game was twenty eight to six, Yes,
not too long ago, and Dallas has come back to
pull within three and it's far from over. Two point
fifty three to go. Ravens have all their timeouts, Cowboys
have all their timeouts. A now a three point game

(01:40:22):
in Dallas. In what was a one sided affair in Arizona,
it's over. The Lions meet the Cardinals twenty to thirteen.
Seahawks took down the Dolphins twenty four to three. Seattle's
three and zero, and Carolina got their first win of
the season, upsetting the Raiders today thirty six to twenty two.
I don't know if it's an upset now with Andy
Dalton as their quarterback, but that's where we stand. Yeah,

(01:40:44):
in this late window, so the Rams are coming on
to attempt a game winning field goal that again is
from about thirty seven yards or so. Joshua Cardy on
the field to kick the thirty seven yard attempt. The Cowboys,
by the way, they onside kick earlier. They got one,

(01:41:05):
then they tried it again and didn't get one. They're
kicking away to the Ravens, so Lamar Jackson will likely
get the ball in their territory, just trying to get
some first downs to run out the clock. Carti's field
goal is good. Wow Cardi b I say, Cardy eighth
plus there it was the Rams.

Speaker 3 (01:41:26):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:41:27):
That joke was an f The Ms have taken a
twenty seven twenty four lead with two seconds left in
the game in San Francisco, and they're showing Brock Party
on the sidelines. Listen, I've been critical of brock Purty before.
I probably don't give them the flowers that he deserves.

(01:41:47):
Not his fault. No, they had an opportunity on the
previous drive and we didn't get a chance to tell
you about it because of all the stuff that was happening.
But he had Ronnie Bell wide open down the field.
Party was able to elude pressure unloaded. Bell completely dropped.
It would have been set up. You could have you've

(01:42:07):
been in field goal range. Jake Moody would have had
an opportunity to kick their own field goal. You could
have worked the clock down. Ronnie Bell just completely dropped
the football. Not on brock Party, Rock Purty Stellar today.
Twenty one of twenty nine two hundred and fifty eight
yards three touchdowns probably has over three hundred yards if
you make that catch, oh easily.

Speaker 3 (01:42:26):
No, brock Party played a really good game today, was
in control of the offense, was making plays as well,
making you know, scrambling, keeping the keeping the ball alive
and making plays down the field. And so it wasn't
on him. But again it shows the other part of
this thing. It's it's a team game. And so the
defense for the forty nine ers, I'm sure would not

(01:42:47):
be happy about this effort that they put out here
in the second half. The Rams have resilience, a lot
of gumption, Matthew Stafford, you know, doing Matthew Stafford things
in the second half and keeping a minute, and obviously
Kyra and Williams had a big second half is all.
So yeah, man, this is a this is a crazy
term of events in its game, you could easily be
on and three if they finished out here, they're one
and two in the forty nine Ers are.

Speaker 2 (01:43:07):
One in two. Do you think when the NFL strives
for parody that their parody is everybody's just one and two,
because that's what it feels like. It doesn't feel even
the teams that are three at all, we don't think
are that good. You know how good the Seahawks are.
I think the Vikings are pretty good. The Steelers, their
defense is pretty good, but I'm still wondering about the offense.

(01:43:28):
But it's working right now with justin fields. But this,
this is what we've got. So two seconds left, forty
nine Ers will have one last play. The Ravens. They
have a stat that just popped up ten plus losses,
yes when leading in the fourth quarter, most of any
team in the National Football League over I'm not sure
what length of time it was, but so the forty

(01:43:52):
nine Ers have one last play. When that's over, we'll
get you to Manci Bolanos for all of the information.
It is going to be a lateral party and the
forty nine Ers aren't necessarily down just yet, but they
are trying to move and on TV's there we go, Yes, no,

(01:44:14):
there we go, There could be there No, now it's over.
We aren't obblieve. We aren't allowed to give a play
by play call on what is happening. So there's just
a lot of emotions on what we are watching. Now
we can focus on what's happening in Dallas as it's

(01:44:35):
a final with the Rams over the forty nine Ers
two thirty five left to go. The Ravens are facing
a crucial third down twenty eight to twenty five. Let's
get you to, Mancy Belaniosys Derek Henry lost his footing
on that second down carry. Cowboys have one time out left,
Ravens have all three of theirs. It's the Ravens with
that three point lead, Moncy, it's all yours.

Speaker 1 (01:44:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:44:55):
I can't with this Rams team. You just you think
they're out and they're not.

Speaker 6 (01:45:00):
Like I really, I don't know how they pulled this
one off, but they did. I mean Kyron Williams a
big part of how they pulled this off. But the
Rams come back to beat the forty nine Ers twenty
seven to twenty four.

Speaker 5 (01:45:12):
Joshua, what is it? Cardi? Joshua Carty with the thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:45:16):
Seven Carty eight plus right.

Speaker 6 (01:45:18):
Right, Cardy, when I heard you sounds like CARDI B yeah, yea,
so I knew what you were doing.

Speaker 5 (01:45:23):
I liked it. I liked it.

Speaker 6 (01:45:23):
With the thirty seven yard field goal to win it
for LA. Yeah, what what a what a final to
that game. I was not expecting it.

Speaker 5 (01:45:31):
The Lions and the.

Speaker 6 (01:45:32):
Cardinals was kind of a snooze fest in the second half.
Literally just a field goal was scored, but the Lions
hold on. They come out on top twenty to thirteen.
David Montgomery twenty three carries one hundred and six yards
and one touchdown in the win. All Seahawks against the Dolphins,
Seattle comes out on top twenty four to three. I'm
sorry about your son though, because I know he's a
Dolphins fan. So are you gonna go home and be like, see,

(01:45:54):
this is why you should be a Seahawks fan.

Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
I told her this morning. I got him it was
yesterday because I was here this morning yesterday. I'm like,
we're gonna chre for the Seahawks, right, and then he's like, yeah,
the white team, and like, no, the Dolphins gonna be
wearing white. I don't even know why he would know that. Ravens.
By the way, I did order him a Dolphin sweacher though,
just for the record, Yeah, there is one coming in
the mail. The Ravens did convert on their third and

(01:46:18):
six a past the Zay Flowers, picking on Trayvon Diggs.
So the Cowboys have used their last time out to
seventeen left to go. Ravens are gonna have a fresh
set of downs. Go ahead, Monzi.

Speaker 6 (01:46:26):
Oh yeah, yeah, And I'm glad you caught that because
I was looking at my scores. Panthers beat the Raiders
thirty six to twenty two. Andy Dalton threw for three
hundred and nineteen yards and three touchdowns. The Colts they
outscored the Bears earlier today twenty one to sixteen. The Giants,
they didn't score in the second the second half at all,
and they still beat the Browns twenty one to fifteen.
Daniel Jones through for two hundred and thirty six yards

(01:46:47):
and two touchdowns, both of them went to Malik Neighbors.
The Eagles held on to beat the Saints fifteen to twelve.
The Packers defeated the Titans thirty to fourteen. Tennessee is
now zero and three to start the season. The Broncos
had a twenty six to seven win over the Buccaneers.
Bo Nicks his best start yet two hundred and sixteen
yards and one rushing touchdown. The Steelers remain undefeated as
they beat the Chargers twenty to ten. Justin Herbert did

(01:47:10):
reaggravate his ankle injury and exited in the second half,
and the Vikings stand defeated after crushing the Texans thirty
four to seven. In baseball, the White Sox have tied
the modern day record for losses in a single season
with one hundred and twenty as they fall to the
Padres four to two. I'm just gonna give credit to
the Chicago White Sox twitter x page. I don't know

(01:47:30):
who's in charge of this page. They deserve a raise.
They have handled the losing hilariously like their tweets are
so funny.

Speaker 5 (01:47:39):
Because what are you gonna do?

Speaker 7 (01:47:40):
Right?

Speaker 6 (01:47:41):
Like I mean one of them on September eighteen final
the other team scored more run than more runs best
another one was again every time they lose, they just
write something final. The number of runs we scored was
not greater than the number of runs they scored today.
The gif the meme that they posted was on the
freeway post final score. Literally anything else and admin is

(01:48:03):
like crushing into anything else.

Speaker 5 (01:48:04):
Like whoever is in charge of this, you deserve arrays.
It's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
They don't play their pay their players. Do you think
they're gonna pay their Twitter guys? Yeah? No, yeah, yeah, yes,
there's a reason why they have one hundred and twenty losses.

Speaker 3 (01:48:17):
Do we celebrate the loss thing today? If it's a
it's a it's a mouse stone.

Speaker 5 (01:48:21):
It is, but they're gonna break it.

Speaker 6 (01:48:22):
So right now they're tied I think with the most Yes,
they's tied.

Speaker 5 (01:48:26):
So when they get to one twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:48:27):
One, So.

Speaker 2 (01:48:29):
I'm sorry, did you say or do do we know?

Speaker 7 (01:48:31):
It was?

Speaker 2 (01:48:32):
Because they should show up to the game. Who was
it's your family members? If it was like nineteen twelve,
it would be like an anti anti legend day. Yes, yeah,
that's actually.

Speaker 5 (01:48:42):
Yes, it's not about It's not a bad idea. The Dodgers.

Speaker 6 (01:48:45):
They walked it off against the Diamondbacks with back to
back homers from Mookie Bets and Shoho Tawny. He also
stole two bases, so he now has fifty three homers
and fifty five stolen bases, and Aaron Judge does have
fifty five home runs. New York did beat the A's
seven to four.

Speaker 2 (01:48:59):
Back to you, guys, anti legends. They didn't register at first,
and now good, No, I I got it.

Speaker 7 (01:49:06):
I got it.

Speaker 2 (01:49:08):
Took me a second. Hey, I gotta come up with
jokes like hardy a pluss. Okay, it's a lot of
heavy work over here.

Speaker 9 (01:49:14):
By the way, guys, it is the the nineteen sixty
two New York Mets.

Speaker 5 (01:49:19):
I thought it was the Mets, and I thought I
was just being mean.

Speaker 2 (01:49:21):
Sure, yes, definitely sure that was the case. By the way,
since I turned this Cowboys helmet upside down, I'm telling you,
like the game completely turned over. I did it for
a rally cap. Yes, it ended up being being that case.
Oh man, So the Ravens are going to try to
work out the clock. Scary, not scary injury wise. But

(01:49:44):
Derrick Henry carried the ball on the other side of
the two minute warning, tried to dodge a tackler and
then kind of like jumped in the air easily. A
defender poked the ball from around and caused it to
go loose. Yeah, I said that. I said the same
thing when it was happening too. No timeouts left for
the Cowboys, It'll be a second and nine, And they're

(01:50:05):
actually just showing the replay right there of what possibly
could have happened with Derrick Henry maybe losing the football.
He held on to it. Carry and I can agree
on one thing. We may not agree necessarily on the
Steveis quarterback scenario and other things. We both feel that
Derrick Henry has made a seamless transition into a Raven's uniform. Yes,

(01:50:26):
it looks like he's worn it for twelve years. They
like it look like. Not that I've forgotten what he
looks like in a Titans uniform, because I remember and
I remember the long you know, the ponytail whatever that
he would have, and him stiff arming Josh Norman in
the next week. But he looks just like he's been
a Raven the whole time.

Speaker 3 (01:50:44):
Yeah, I mean, it's talk about a seamless fit, and
it looks like a natural fit. They came out today
and established themselves wanting to get back to the run.
I mean, Lamar Jackson's only throw throwing the ball fifteen times,
so I mean we just had a big run here
for the first down that probably would clinch the game.
Lamar did, but no, Derek looks like he was a

(01:51:05):
natural bowing raven Somebody got pushed out the club on
that play too.

Speaker 2 (01:51:09):
So Lamar Jackson takes the balls, you heard Carrie say,
gets the first down and so now the clock will
just tick down. Ravens are going to get a twenty
eight to twenty five win for their first win of
the season. Yep, Cowboys fall to one and two. Is
there something for the Cowboys to carry over? They have
a short week, they go to New York and face
the Giants. Do you take anything from this comeback and

(01:51:32):
carry it over because it hasn't been a good two
weekends at home for Dallas.

Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
Yeah, I mean they will. Internally, I mean they had
some fight. They showed fight. They were down the whole
game pretty much this game right out from the out
of the gate. So for them, they can always talk
about not quitting and having that fight. But I mean,
this team has a lot of work to do on
the defensive side of the ball, and you know, for
them to lose Dan Quinn and to be you know,
a factor defensive lead the last couple of years to

(01:51:57):
go into an established guy and Mike Zimmer and he's
not being able to get the results here. It's gonna
be a long, short week for Dallas, but there they
get a chance to play Thursday and get right back
after it.

Speaker 2 (01:52:08):
Ceedee Lamb did appear a little off his game. Maybe
the physicality of the Ravens receivers got to him, but
there were a couple of opportunities. He looked visibly frustrated
on multiple occasions. I don't know if it's the losing.
I don't know if it's not getting the football or
just the way the Ravens played. But we'll see if
that is reck to fight on a short week, and
now it will be over Ravens and Cowboys taking the field.

(01:52:30):
John Harbaugh shaking the hand of Mike McCarthy. Ravens get
that twenty eight to twenty five win. He is carry Rhoads.

It's Chiefs Falcons tonight and there was one game Carrie
and I kind of avoided today, but we're gonna give
someone their flowers. We'll deliver them plus our MVPs next
on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:53:08):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:53:13):
It's Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's carry Rhodes, the
All Pro and Starter since day one. I'm Dan Beyer.
Week three has been another dandy. We have Chiefs Falcons
tonight from Atlanta and then tomorrow night Monday night stagger doubleheader.
Jacksonville is in Buffalo to face the Bills and then
the Bengals are home to the Washington Commanders. Same thing.

(01:53:34):
Next week there is a staggered Monday night doubleheader. The
nightcap is Seattle at Detroit, which should be good. Seahawks
are three and zero, Detroit's now two and one on
the season. They always play entertaining games at Ford Field.
Hopefully next week it's the same thing, but the early
game of that doubleheader is Tennessee at Miami can we

(01:53:54):
get the volunteers to play the Hurricanes instead of the
Titans and Dolphins, because I have no interest in watching that.
Thank goodness, there's another game later. I was kind of
critical of the stagger doubleheader. Now when you're delivering US
Titans Dolphins in what looks like to be Will Levis
against I'm not sure who's since Skyler Thompson got knocked
out of today's game, it's not gonna be two. We

(01:54:15):
know that, but yeah, rough go of it for the
schedule a week four on Monday Night football.

Speaker 3 (01:54:21):
Yeah, that can be a game of backup quarterbacks or
new quarterback situations Tennessee. Obviously, Levis hasn't been well, hasn't
done good at all this season. In his first three starts,
he's been you know, he has some flashes of being
able to make throws obviously because he's talented, you know,
but he hasn't performed well and so you don't know

(01:54:41):
if they're going to make a switch there, And yeah, Miami,
they're gonna have to. Skylar Thompson got hurt today, so
they're gonna have to make a decision on that.

Speaker 2 (01:54:49):
We'll see.

Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
That's that's one that I'll tune in and see Kaitlyn
Clark playing that first one. If that's happening, Kaitlyn Clark
choking out today.

Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
Carrie a couple of weeks ago, said he would watch
the fever game in over six of the seven early
window games. I think the only one that you would
have watched when we did it three weeks ago was
Eagle Saints. It was the early game. It was Baltimore,
but we did the Lake games one of the early
windows because we didn't know the time. Then that kind
of it ended up being an exciting game at the end,

(01:55:17):
but it was three nothing earlier in the fourth quarter.
Who would have thought that?

Speaker 6 (01:55:20):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:55:20):
The funny part about that conversation, which is crazy, is
I watched all the football games, no matter how bad
they were.

Speaker 2 (01:55:26):
To know absolutely we didn't have we didn't have one

He is carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. I am delivering
flowers to Bonnicks and the Denver Broncos. Bonnicks career win
number one. Not a lot of people thought they would
go to Tampa and top the Buccaneers today. They did,
But kudos to the Broncos defense. Yes, sacking Baker Mayfield
seven times. Buccaneers never gotten rhythm. Ryan Berschinger talked about

(01:59:13):
the stats of Rashad White, who was very ineffective today.
Denver dominated this game from start to finish. We didn't
talk about it. That's why we're talking about it now. Yeah,
great win for Denver.

Speaker 3 (01:59:23):
I mean, I don't think anybody saw that coming as
far as them going in and dominating the way they dominated.
Bo Nicks didn't turn the ball over played, you know,
played a ball control type of offense today, had a touchdown,
run played.

Speaker 2 (01:59:37):
Well, there were a few times where I thought, Okay,
this is going to be picked off, this is going
to be picked off. But he was a half second
early on those throws and they were completed, so they
were close. I think Tampa was trying to get a jump.
But kudos to Bo Nicks for leading that offense and
a couple of great plays by the Broncos. Jalil McLoughlin's

(01:59:59):
touchdown run. If you have a seen it, you gotta
go see it all right, thirty seconds left tonight Chiefs Falcons,
Chiefs to and oh. After that big win against Cincinnati

the Eagles on Monday Night. Who wins Tonight's in Atlanta?
Think it's a big upset tonight. I'm gonna take the
Falcons to win this game. The dirty Birds, Yes, I am.

(02:00:20):
I think it's gonna be the Kansas City Chiefs. Big no,
because I'm not sure how great the Chiefs are. I
just know they know how to win close games, and
when it gets close, they can run out the clock
or they can go down and score. But I still
think that they're a great franchise. I don't know how
good this team is yet and without Isaiba check O,
we'll find out close game. I like the Chiefs, he

(02:00:42):
likes the Falcons. We like you. Next week here on
