Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
It's not just four games we're focused on. It's seven
and a President's Cup. Just kidding, just kidding. Don't worry
about that. I'll tell you what happens to the President's
Cup when the time is right. It is week four
of the National Football League season. It is also the
last day of Major League Baseball's regular season. You heard
Manzi in the update. We've got Manzi at the news desk.
(00:25):
Our executive producer is Ryan Berschinger. He's gonna have fantasy numbers.
Manzi's gonna give you everything you need to know of
what's happening with the NFL games and the Major League
Baseball games, and Carrie and I. You and I could
just chop it up for what was an interesting early
slate in Week four. Eight games in that window. I
think there is one story that rises above all in
(00:48):
those contests. But we have four games going on right now.
I don't think people are surprised that the forty nine
ers are up thirteen to zhering on the Patriots, as
Manzi said, But we've got the Browns leading by ten
against the Raiders. The Commander's short week on the road again,
but they're carrying that momentum from Monday leading the Cardinals
right now and in the game of the day, it
(01:08):
is the Chiefs in Chargers in Los Angeles, in a
completely different Chargers team than maybe the ones that we've
seen in previous years, and right now they're up ten
to nothing on Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City, who have
lost for Shi Rice to a knee injury.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Yeah, the Chiefs are coming out slow, had a couple
of ton nervos early to start this game, a little sloppy.
They've been, you know, a team that's found a way
to win early this year.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
But right now the Chargers are putting it to them.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
So we're gonna have fantasy numbers as we always do,
at fifty past the hour. But when you hear this
sound effect, that's when we're gonna go to Manzi for
the latest on what is happening in Major League Baseball.
So we've got you covered. So when you hear this
sound effect, Mancy Belanios will tell you what's happening in
(01:55):
the three games that matter so much in the National
League Wildcard race in your brains right now.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Not my braves, I'm the Yankees, but I've started the
Braves to win. That's right.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
That's right when I stuck up for Aeron Judge, you're
on Caitlyn Clark's side.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I totally remember that. I forgot that from the from
the Yankees fan himself. Let's dive right into it. Huge
game started today in the early window, Vikings improved a
four and zho topping Green Bay Jordan Love returns. Still
(02:32):
not enough for the Packers, as the Vikings remain unbeaten
in the National Football League. That to me story numero
uno from week four right now, Oh for sure. I
mean this team is playing really well. I know we
had to discussion last week about whether it was their
defense or their offense, and I'd said it was both.
Today the offense really showed up. I mean a defense
(02:52):
played well in the beginning. Jordan Love found some rhythm
as the game went on and played well, brought them back.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Had a couple of turnovers.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Early, but man, really good game and this division's gonna
be interesting down the stretch. When we I think a
lot of people didn't have I don't think anybody had
the Vikings that four.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Oh well, I will say this, I definitely did not
In fact, I had the Vikings as the team that
I just was paying no mind to in the NFC North.
I like the Bears in the playoffs. I like the
Lions to win the division. Heck guy of the Lions
winning the Super Bowl, and I thought Green Bay would
do well. I did not give Minnesota a chance at all.
I didn't love the JJ McCarthy pick. They also ended
(03:31):
up making a deal and traded up to get Dallas.
Turner thought there were a lot of other holes in
that team, and right now there aren't. You mentioned Aaron Jones.
His pickup magnificent. Yes, Justin Jefferson has been great. Sam
Dartold has been really really good. I will say, though,
I think that it is their defense that gets everything started.
(03:51):
I know there's gonna be a lot of discussion now
over the next couple of weeks as we start to
have MVP conversations carry. I get that Sam Darnold is
having a good year, yes, and Justin Jefferson is back
off of his injury riddled season last year where he's
still has had one thousand yards and half a season.
But I just think this team goes as their defense goes,
(04:13):
and it shows they turned green Bay over three times.
They got after Jordan Love, who never looked comfortable. They
held Green Bay to seven points in the first half,
had that twenty one point lead, and when you have
that lead, Jordan Love's going to throw the ball fifty
four times. Maybe are on the field a little bit
more trying to play defense, but I don't think they're
up twenty eight to seven without their defensive effort. And
that's what I think separates them from maybe even the
(04:35):
other unbeaten teams in the National Football League.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Well, I think it separates them right now because the
defense is playing really well. But again, I'm not taking
anything away from the resurgence of that offense. And then
you get to add a Jordan Addison back into that line.
It's going to open things up for them going going
down to stretch with the season, which can be really special.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Jalen Naylor was a guy who kind of filled in
when Addison was out, and he's still a weapon there.
But Addison today a couple of big plays got into
the end zone and Minnesota is four and oh that
cannot be said for other teams today, like the Pittsburgh
Steelers who ended up going to Indianapolis and falling to
the Colts. The Kansas City Chiefs right now are three
(05:15):
and oh, but find themselves down to the Chargers by
a score of ten to nothing. The second biggest story
of the day is Pittsburgh losing, but it's also in
the realm of that entire game for me is Anthony
Richardson gets hurt for the Colts and then Joe Flacco
comes in and it's the Joe Flacco story once again.
(05:36):
I wouldn't say that they completely led them to victory, but
he had a hand in their win. They are much
more potent through the air than they were with Anthony
Richardson in the game. And it's the same old story.
And if you're the Cleveland Browns and you've been frustrated
through these three weeks and wanted Joe Flacco back, today
would be a reason why you would understand why you
have been so angry these first three weeks because Flacco
(05:58):
was fine and now the Steelers are no longer un beat.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Yeah. No, you got to have a backup.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
You got to have a guy think that can come
in and relieve and save your team and steady the
ship when things get rocky, or there's the injury that occurs,
and so Flacco has done that for the past two
years and has been really reliable in that position. You know,
the Steelers, do you give up twenty seven points to
the Colts, You're not gonna win. And so you know,
justin Field's had, you know, a pretty okay game. I
(06:22):
think we had twenty two to thirty four, three hundred yards.
So he played well, just not enough to get over
the Colts hump.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Today.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
There's something with the Steelers. And by the way, the
Raiders are driving as we speak. They are third and goal.
They're down ten to the Browns, but they've got it
down to about the three yard line. Za Mere White
had to carry here that got him down to the three.
But third and goal for the Raiders again, who spotted
the Browns a ten to nothing lead at home. And
it looks like the Raiders are into the end zone.
(06:51):
I think it's Tucker again with the score. Yes, it
is on an end a round, so the Raiders do
get into the end zone extra point pending a little
bit closer in that game in Las Vegas, as Trey
Tucker scores from three yards out for the Silver and Black.
Back to the Black and goal of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This is the you and I have this conversation about
(07:14):
Justin Fields and Russell Wilson all the time. Justin Field's
stats today will look really good. A couple of rushing touchdowns.
I didn't think that he was awful throwing the ball either,
But it's in this situation where I do think that
Russell Wilson is valuable to the team in a game
like this where you have to come from behind. Justin
(07:34):
Fields didn't do anything in this game to be like,
oh man, you got to get him out of the game.
It's just not his forte. So if you're Pittsburgh and
you're okay with that saying, guess what. Our defense is
going to dominate the game three out of every four
games we play, and we just need to take care
of things, then so be it. Today was a day
(07:55):
where their defense didn't dominate and they needed a little
bit more from the offense.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Didn't get it.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
No, I mean the way they defense played today, I
don't think they win this game with Russell Wilson. I
know we have this conversation back and forth, but I mean,
if Pittsburgh puts up twenty four points, they think they're
going to win the game every game, So I think
he played well enough to win. That doesn't warrant a
change obviously. I mean he played well. He had two
Russian touchdowns and a passing touchdown. I mean, what more
(08:21):
could you ask of him? And I don't think Russell
Wilson does any better than that. So it's about their
defense and their special teams. That's the type of style
that they have, and that's the way they're going to
win all year.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I don't rank the early games for how exciting they were,
because if I did, the game we're about to talk
about was probably Numero Uno.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Let's focus on that.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
In Atlanta, it's time for the NFL on Fox Focus.
You heard his voice throughout the broadcast, saw him as well.
He is a great friend of one Carrie Rhodes in
the NFL. On Fox's Jonathan Villmo, who saw the Falcon
(09:00):
escaped with a twenty six twenty four win over the
New Orleans Saints earlier today, Jonathan, Happy football season. First
time we've had you on so far, and Carrie and
I obviously you and Carrie talk off the air. I
haven't talked to you since last season, but welcome in.
Great to have you again.
Speaker 6 (09:17):
Oh thanks man. I'm pretty disappointed Carrie. Carrie, because this
is the first time in four weeks. I don't really
know what's up with that.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
So Carrie really, Oh my did he go there to
start this conversation?
Speaker 4 (09:31):
Jonathan? Do you know the story, Jonathan?
Speaker 2 (09:36):
The story about a month ago we were doing a
football preview show and I had to go on vacation
the week prior, so I said to Carrie as a
left I'm like, hey, I'm gone next week, reach out
to Vilma Labor Day weekend. He can be on our
football preview show. The day before our show, I said,
is Vilma good? He goes, I don't know what you're
talking about. I have no idea what you're talking about.
(09:58):
So he may be ignore bring you, but he doesn't
listen to me. So you know, I guess we're we're
kind of in that in that boat.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
I'm gonna have a heart to Harbor.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
Carry after Yah, we'll talk. We'll talk after this, yeah
for sure.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
All right, let's get to a great bounce back win,
by the way for the Falcons today after losing that
heartbreaker on on Sunday, edge against the Kansas City Chiefs.
What impressed you most about Atlanta in getting that two
point win today?
Speaker 6 (10:25):
I was very impressed with the overall team performance. It's
not always going to be offense scores, points, defense outs,
from et cetera. You just find ways to win. And
the biggest thing they didn't do was point the finger play,
the blame game. They created the takeaway, got the needed touchdowns,
and then they found a way to hang on at
(10:46):
the end and win. So, you know, really excited for
the way that they are responding. That speaks to the culture,
that speaks to Raheem Moores and uh, that's it's gonna
gonna bode well for them during the season.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
JV.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
I mean sticking with the Falcons, there's a receiving tight
end there that I really like. And Kyle Pitts and
he doesn't get involved enough for my liking. I don't
know what's happened in internality with them and what their
role with him is, but can you speak about him
and the chemistry that he has with Kirk Cousins or
lack thereof.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
Yeah, So it looks like Kirk Cousins not just pitch,
but it looks like Kirk Cousins is still trying to
find his rhythm with all of his players or all
of his skill guys. Yeah, and I think that takes
time because Kirk Cousins, they didn't play in the preseason, right,
he was still limited with the Achilles, and then now
he's finally starting to get into his rhythm. Well, another
(11:44):
thing about Kirk, outside of Justin Jefferson, he was never
known for forcing the ball to any one players. So
for Pitts, you know, he has to find that find
and build that relationship with Cousins, whether and it has
to be outside of practice, right, whether they watch film together,
(12:04):
they spend time outside of the facilities, just to get
an understanding for each other. How he's going to run
his routes, what he wants to do, because he's too
good of a player. To your point, Carry did not
get in the ball. And I'm not saying force the
ball to him, but you got to give him opportunity,
make him the number one option on certain plays. And
(12:25):
if you do that, you know he's going to really
have some success.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Jonathan Wilma joining us here on Fox Sports Radio on
the call for the NFL on Foxes, The Falcons top
the Saints in Atlanta twenty six to twenty four. So
what is it with the Saints now in close games?
Lost a closer one last week to the Eagles, lose
this one today. We saw him blow out the Cowboys
and blow out the Panthers in the first two weeks.
Is this a concern that maybe we start to have
with this team and maybe not being able to close
(12:52):
out these two games, or do we just look at
it and say, hey, tough place to play in Atlanta
last week? You know it was Philadelphi coming to town
with something to prove. What do we make of your
former team in the Saints now at two and two?
Speaker 6 (13:06):
If I'm the Saints, I take the positive approach. You
look at both games as games you could have easily won.
You look at this game in particular, there were no
offensive touchdowns. Defense, they did what they need to do
in the red zone. Defense held on when they when
they had to offense, score three times in the red zone.
(13:29):
So there are positives to take right and Kerry knows this.
The first thing that we're taught on the road protect
the football. So if you're on the road and you
turn the football over, especially for two touchdowns. Yeah, you're
more than likely going to lose that game, and so
I don't if I'm them, I don't make it a
(13:49):
big issue about closing out games finishing. I focus on
the good things that are being done, that are being executed,
and then remind everyone that this is very simp You
turn the ball over on the road, you were going
to lose until now you unfortunately experienced it this seasons.
Take care of the football and then find a way
(14:10):
to win next time.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Javi.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
When Derek Carr comes out the first two games and
tears it up the way that he did, I know
they're trying to be a balance football team. Do they
want to allow him to be that guy to throw
the ball thirty forty times? Or like I said, do
they want to be balanced and attack it that way
and have some faith in their defense as well.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
No, they need to stay balanced. Derek Carr, and it's
no knock on him. He's at his best when he
had the run game. It's not to say he's not
a fishing quarterbacks. He does a really good job. But
the play action is what was separating this Derek Carr
the first two weeks first and Derek Carr the last
two weeks and right now they is in the offense
(14:56):
have to force these defenses to go back to single hide.
So this offense, they were getting a ton of yards,
big plays, big play touchdowns, whatever they wanted versus cover three,
whether it was single high, man free or just zone
cover three, and then all of a sudden, the Eagles
basically dedicated or intentionally stayed in to safety to high
(15:20):
safety defense. Rahie Morris he's known for doing that as well,
so he committed to that. When you have teams committing
to it, and that means you, frankly, should run the
ball even more and force them into a three deep
situation bringing safety down in the box. Once you do that,
then you can go back over the top with your
fast guys. And I think that's the I don't want
(15:44):
to say the issue, but that is the point of
emphasis or the offense. The point of emphasis should be
run the ball until they finally get to single high
safety and then get him over the top. Derek Carr with.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
The Lobby, Why and just on that point, why haven't
we seen as much of Jamal Williams that that maybe
we thought his role would be in New Orleans? I
know Kendrick Miller was dinged up at the start of
the year. I think that hopes for him as well.
But why haven't we found anybody to take on that
complimentary roll next to Alvin Kamara.
Speaker 6 (16:18):
You know, Walton Kamara is such a great talent, so
you know, we don't want to take anything away from him.
You have to have the two headed monster. Going back
to the mark Ingram Alvin Kamara day, you have to
have someone that is equally explosive in their own right.
So Kamara is very explosive off tackle, very explosive in
(16:42):
the packing game. Mark Ingram was equally explosive between the tackles.
You ran the zone, the INTI zones with him, the
powers with him, and then he could pop it at
times too. Jamal Williams doesn't have that. Jamal Williams is
great between the tackles, great vision, but the explosive factor.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
Right.
Speaker 6 (17:01):
The thing that scares the defense is when a running
back or any player, but at the running back position,
when they can take it the difference, right, you misfit
a run and all of a sudden he's gone for
six yards Tae Kwon Barkie, Right, that's what scares you.
Or at least the ability to do it. And right now,
you know, Jamal Williams doesn't have that breakaway speed, and
(17:22):
so he's a good compliment for when Kamara is tired,
but not a compliment in the sense that you're going
to be equally afraid or you know, want to adjust
your defense when he's in the game.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
The Saints jav the Saints right now is pretty much,
you know, I guess an ideal example of what the
NFL is. Right, So, you come out the gates, you're
flying high, putting up points. You're two and zero, right,
You're feeling good about yourself. You come back and lose
a tough one to the Saints, I mean, to the
Eagles by three. You come back the next week, you
(17:54):
try to get back and get to it and you know,
get the get right game, and you lose again by two.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
Now you're two and two.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
When you're the trajectory of your season or the hopes
of your season feels a little stagnant or down, how
do you bounce back after two tough losses, after two
big wins?
Speaker 6 (18:11):
Well, you know care we always talked about ever riding
the waves of the season, and it was always about
being consistent the process and then seeing where it ends
up Week thirteen, fourteen, fifteen sixteen, right, And I think
there's never been a time where there was more parody
(18:33):
in the NFL than now. And you look at a
lot of teams. Take the Buccaneers last year, nine to eight,
win the division and they actually win a playoff game.
You know, there's just so much parody that whoever gets
hot is the one that's going to, you know, find
themselves making a run late. And the only way you
(18:55):
get hot is to focus on execution. And so if
you don't, if you have a veteran team and you
don't allow for the media all the outside noise to
creep in, you focus on the process. And I think
that's what they'll do and not really get down, too
down or too excited about winning and losing.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
He's Jonathan Wilma, good friend of my teammate here, Carrie Rhodes,
former NFL linebacker, and you heard him today as the
Falcons top the Saints twenty six, twenty four in a
game on Fox. Jonathan, I can't help you with Carrie.
You guys are got to show that.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Yeah, that's that's up for debate.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
The good friend thing that's up for debate right now. Jonathan,
thanks so much. Man.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
We'll talk to you so you man to you later,
all right. He is Carrie Rhods. I'm Dan Beyer. Here's
what is happening. We're gonna have a crack of the
back in about sixty seconds, but I want to tell
you what's happening on the gridiron right now. Raiders to
get into the end zone and they got the football back.
Now down ten to seven to the Cleveland Browns, nearing halftime,
George Kittle's got a touchdown path from rock Perty twelve
(20:02):
yards out, nine Ers twenty Patriots nothing. At the two
minute warning. The Chiefs are in Chargers territory, but again
playing without Rachie Rice, who hurt his knee earlier in
this game when he was actually hit by his quarterback
Patrick Mahomes on a fumble. Ten nothing, Chargers over the Chiefs,
six forty seven left to go until halftime, and the
Commanders are about to attempt a forty five yard field
(20:24):
goal with Austin Seibert up fourteen to seven on the
Cardinals three seconds left to go in the first half.
That's what's happening on the Gridiron Manzie Belanios, what is
happening on this final day of baseball's regular season.
Speaker 7 (20:38):
Yes, so we're keeping an eye on the Mets, the Diamondbacks,
and the Braves. We're fighting for the last two wild
card spots in the National League. The Mets are shutting
out the Brewers five zero. It's the bottom of the
eighth inning. The Diamondbacks winning at home against the Padres
nine to two. They're about to start the eighth inning,
and the Braves are losing at home to the Royals
four to two. They're about to start the eighth I mean,
(21:00):
there's a lot of different scenarios if the Braves were
to pull this win off. Even though they're losing, they're
basically in. They kind of have the easiest route to
go into the playoffs, and just something to keep an
eye on. Bob Nightingale tweeted something and I was like, Okay,
keep an eye on. He said, the Padres are losing,
but they're actually winning. Because if the Padres lose today,
it forces Atlanta and the Mets to play at least
(21:22):
one game on Monday in Atlanta, and it could also
force Atlanta to use their Cy Young favorite favorite Chris
Sale so that he can't face the Padres in.
Speaker 8 (21:32):
A wild card situation. So somebody just to keep.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
An eye on. You know, So Braves are losing Mets
and Diamondbacks are winning.
Speaker 8 (21:38):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
If these results hold, that means both games will be
played tomorrow. Yes, and the winner of whoever wins the
first game would get in. If the loser of game
one wins game two, they're in. But if a team
gets swept tomorrow, that team is out and the Diamondbacks
would be in. That's the scenario that is playing out.
If these results hold as you just said they are.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
Is smoke coming out of my ears because it is
just so confident.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Pass and had all these scenarios laid out. Yeah, so
I'm almost reading it.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Verbatim and the recall Dan just had it right there
is pretty good.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
That was really good.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
That's how it would play out if the results stay
as they are.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
We'll keep you updated.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Shee is Manzy Belanio should be with us in just
a little bit as well, as we'll have an update
of all the scores that happened earlier today and so
much more. He is carry rhoads. I'm Dan Bayer. I
didn't even see if that field goal was good with Washington,
it is good. So it is seventeen to seven. Austin
Seibert giving the Commanders a ten point lead in Arizona.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
He's Carry Roads. I'm Dan Bayer.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Joe Flacco now the quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, and
what was wrong with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. We'll
talk about it next here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 9 (22:48):

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Rock Back going to throw for the end zone for
kidda block ball. Charge went out and caught the ball.
Speaker 10 (23:06):
Touchdown sand Bread Cisco Kittle in the corner.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Baby once again, here's Dan Byer and Carry Rhoades.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio and that highlight
courtesy of canbr on the forty nine Ers Radio network.
One of four games that we are watching here in
this late window. The Kansas City Chiefs have just gotten
into the end zone, but there is a flag on
the play. We'll see if the laundry will take points
off the board or if it will stand. But as
(23:41):
it stands right now. It's a ten to nothing Chargers
lead four h six to go as Patrick Mahomes has
hit Xavier Worthy for a touchdown pass of about fifty
yards or so. So the Chiefs trying to remain unbeaten
like the Minnesota Vikings did earlier today, some of them
the Pittsburgh Steelers couldn't do now on the scoreboard in
(24:01):
Los Angeles. And Worthy is going to have to be
a worthy target now without Rashid Rice. He's officially been
ruled out the rest of this game because of a
knee injury.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Yeah, this is why it's so hard to repeat. I
know they repeat it already, but now they going for
the three repeat, and it's you know, you need, you
need luck, you need some favor you need and you
need to be healthy and stay away from the injury bug.
And you know it starts to bite them here, but
big play by Zabi are Worthy here for the big
touchdown to get them back within four possibly three. And
(24:31):
you know, the Chiefs this year have really been playing
with their food a little bit, and so you know
for them to be in these type of situations, they
got to try to avoid this.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
That's the season progresses you know the people, but it
that way. We're definitely gonna talk about food.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
We're gonna do it after Monte gives us the latest
of what is happening in Week four in the National
Football League, not only in Los Angeles, say is that
extra point was good? But in Las Vegas and Santa
Clara in parts unknown.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
Monte Blagos here with the latest. What's going on? Manzi?
Speaker 7 (25:01):
That flag that was thrown that you just mentioned in
the Chiefs Chargers game, it was a defensive interference, so
it was declined.
Speaker 8 (25:07):
All good.
Speaker 7 (25:08):
Chiefs get the touchdown, but the Chargers are still on top,
ten to seven, four minutes to go in the first half.
Speaker 8 (25:14):
The Raiders are now tied.
Speaker 7 (25:15):
With the Browns at home ten ten two minutes to
go in the first half. The Browns do half the
ball at Las Vegas' forty one yard line.
Speaker 8 (25:23):
It's all forty nine Ers so far.
Speaker 7 (25:25):
Fred Warner with a pick six, then Brock Birdy connecting
with George Kittle and they're beating the Patriots twenty zero thirty.
Speaker 8 (25:31):
Seconds to go in the first half.
Speaker 7 (25:33):
The Commanders and the Cardinals came off hop but then
they've kind of cooled down.
Speaker 8 (25:37):
Washington is on top seventeen to seven.
Speaker 7 (25:39):
Jayden Daniels eleven of thirteen ninety six yards, one interception.
But they are on top right now. The games that
wrapped up earlier today, the Viking State undefeated. They topped
the Packers thirty one to twenty nine. I mean, Minnesota
made it interesting. They only scored three points in the
second half, so it did get a little nerve wrecking.
Speaker 8 (25:57):
I'm sure they're at the end.
Speaker 7 (25:59):
Sam Darnold through two hundred and seventy five yards, three touchdowns,
one interception. Then Packers Xavier McKinney gonna mention his fourth
interception of the season in this one.
Speaker 8 (26:08):
He leads the nfil that.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
One of the better freezing pickups that we've had so
far up from this past offseason.
Speaker 8 (26:14):
The Falcons, they walk it off with the fifty eight
yard field goal.
Speaker 7 (26:16):
They defeat the Saints twenty six to twenty four.
Speaker 8 (26:19):
But it all started bad for the Saints.
Speaker 7 (26:21):
They literally muffed their first punt and it became a touchdown.
So it's just started bad for the Saints from the beginning.
The Bears defeated the Rams twenty four to eighteen. The
Colts held on to beat the Steelers twenty four to
twenty four, twenty seven to twenty four, so the Steelers
are now three and one for the season. The Colts
did lose Anthony Richardson to a rib injury. Joe Flacco
(26:41):
came in to save the day or tried to save
the day.
Speaker 8 (26:44):
But positive news out of the NFL network.
Speaker 7 (26:46):
They think that Anthony Richardson is not going to miss
any any games. They think it's going to be little
or no miss games at all with that hip injury
that he suffered. Today, the Broncos edged the Jets ten
to nine. New York had a chance to win it
with the field goal, but Denver defense didn't let Aaron
Rodgers throw a single touchdown. He was twenty four to
forty two for two hundred and twenty five yards and
was sacked five times.
Speaker 8 (27:07):
Bo Nicks didn't have to do much.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
To win, twelve of twenty five for sixty yards on
one touchdown to Cortland Sutton.
Speaker 8 (27:13):
The Buccaneers came out hot. They beat I wrote Phillies.
They beat the Eagles thirty three to sixty. You know,
you just start writing things.
Speaker 7 (27:20):
They beat the Eagles thirty three to sixteen.
Speaker 8 (27:23):
I still wrote Phillies I'm an idiot.
Speaker 7 (27:24):
Baker Mayfield three hundred and forty seven yards and two touchdowns,
one rushing touchdown.
Speaker 8 (27:29):
He was on my bench.
Speaker 7 (27:30):
Bengals, they finally get a win outscored the Panthers thirty
four to twenty four. Texans with the twenty four to
twenty win over the Jaguars who are now zero and
four to start the season.
Speaker 8 (27:40):
And that's it for the day. Let's check in on baseball.
Let's check in on how that's going on. Mett's still
shutting out the Brewers five zero. It's the top of
the ninth inning in Milwaukee.
Speaker 7 (27:49):
The Diamondback's still beating the Padres at home at nine
to two, bottom of the eighth inning, and the Royals
are still beating the Braves.
Speaker 8 (27:56):
Yes they are four to bottom of the eighth Okay,
all right, that's where we are.
Speaker 7 (28:01):
And Louisa Rise is probably going to win the batting
title third time in a row with a third different team.
Speaker 8 (28:07):
Wow, that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
Is Twins, Marlins and nel Padres. Yes, all right, thank
you very.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Much, Montsie a lot on our play President's Cup. Us clinched.
They were able to win that today over the international squad.
I know listen. I know people, golf is not on
the forefront of your minds, but it has been interesting
to us golf fans over the last couple of days,
but maybe just not rising to the level of notoriety
as well.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Let's just say the National Football League in the final
day of Major League Baseball's regular season, that's going to
set up a playoff run that we will be engulfed
in over the next month or so. Let's talk about
these Kansas City Chiefs as they are now within three.
This isn't just I mean, this is a team that,
as you said, is played with their food a little bit.
Hasn't been easy in these first three weeks. They escape
(28:55):
on the Thursday end opener against the Ravens. They needed
that late penalty and then Harrison Butker made the field
goal to beat the Bengals. The Falcons, in my mind,
really mismanaged the clock on Sunday night a week ago.
As Carry is shaking his head, I picked the Falcons. Yeah,
And there's a theme that goes along with it, because
(29:15):
the Saints did something the Falcons did last week and
then in the end it didn't it the Saints loss,
but it didn't ultimately hurt them. But teams are bypassing
field goals to go for touchdowns in these scenarios when
I don't think that they need to, and the Falcons
did it last week. Point is, Chiefs did a great
plan for down, got the stop when they needed to,
and they improved to three and zero. But now you've
got Isaiah Pacheco hurt. You now have her, see Rice hurt,
(29:39):
You've had Hollywood Brown hasn't even been available to you
the first part of the season because he was injured
in the preseason. So this is a Chiefs team that
now is severely depleted in a lot of these key
weapon positions. They're kind of going to become a defensive
football team kind of like they were last year. We
thought that, but this was going to be the new
(30:00):
little Chiefs that everything was going to change, but injuries
haven't allowed that so far.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
Yeah, I mean, this team, I guess the good thing
that they do have on their side right now is
they've won in the multitude of ways. They've won being
the high flying offense that scores forty points and the
big plays they did that they won last year with
the defense and ball control and Patrick Mahomes throwing the
dump off passes to Kelsey in that whole game. So
they can win any style, it seems. But right now,
(30:27):
I mean, it doesn't seem like they have this aura
of ambits ability around them, which they've had in previous years.
So it's going to be interesting to see what happens
down the stretcher.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
There's a bit of an aura around Jayden Daniels, who
just scampered into the end zone for the Commanders opening
of the second half, and it's a nine yard touchdown
run for Daniels. It's twenty three seven Commanders over the Cardinals,
extra point pending. The Chiefs would be in serious trouble
without Chris Jones and Nick Bolton. Last year, Lugerius Snead was,
(31:00):
you know, such a big, big part of that squad.
He's moved on to the Titans, but still carried in essence,
Carrie by their defense. I mean, they made the fourth
down play last week against Atlanta. They've kept some of
these offenses in check, and they don't the Chiefs don't
have the firepower to compete. We're focusing on what's wrong
(31:22):
with Travis Kelcey. I think that's actually the least of
their worries. I feel that Travis kelce is actually the
given that when you need Travis kelce Travis Kelcey will
be there. And just like he was in the playoffs
last year, it's getting everybody else acquainted. But if everybody
else isn't around, I don't know how the Kansas City
Chiefs can continue to do this except they just know
(31:42):
these late game situations and they play them seemingly better
than anybody else does.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
Yeah, I mean, you made a good point. I mean
a lot of people were talking about the Kelsey lack
of production, and you know, you could start to see
some frustration with him not getting some touches. But at
the end of the day, you know, he's not going
to be somebody right now, at this stage of his
career who's going to be able to accept the workload
that people are accustomed to him having. It's just not
(32:07):
going to happen. And what you said was a great thing.
It's they are trying to establish their other guys as
well along, you know, along with Travis Kelsey, because if
they do that, then it will be easier for him
to maneuver in the middle there. But you know, at
this point right now, if they hang around, I guess
we're accustomed to them finding a way to win. And
that's kind of where we are right now.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
And I'll say this, speaking of establishing, if the Chargers
continue to play like this and get this win today, Listen,
they've they've beaten the Chiefs before in the Justin Herbert era.
We've seen that before, but it's been a while. It's
been a little while since they went to Kansas City
and got a big win of leaving on a Thursday
night a few years back. This in the Harbaugh era,
(32:52):
I think this would be worth more. You go and
knock off this team today in a game where you
don't have your two left tackles Den Rashaan Slater and
Joe Alt. You don't have Joey Bosa, even though our
Chargers helmet today is representing Joey Bosa's number ninety seven. Yep,
it's just we don't have him on the field. If
you're a Chargers fan, so you end up navigating this
(33:14):
without those pieces typ of the cap to the Chargers
and the imprint of Harball, the one knock that people
I think I think a lot of people expected the
Chargers to be a good team. But I don't think
that they expected them to be this good of a
team this early on. And if you win this game today,
that fast tracks a lot of stuff.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Yeah, it's crazy. I didn't expect them to be good
at all. I thought they would be competitive, which is
a different word, right, like competitive have a chance to
win in a lot of games because of their style
of play, yes, but for them to be two on
one right now and to be leading this game, you know,
almost at the half right now, it's a surprise to
me because they don't have a lot of weapons on
the outside. So the way that they're standing the game,
(33:57):
defense being tough, The identity Harba, the hardball identity has
been has been a.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Pleasant surprise for me. Brons and Raiders will go to
halftime tied up at ten. The Commanders, who at twenty
four to seven, lead early in the third over Arizona,
and the Chargers continue to lead the Chiefs ten to
seven in the second quarter. Niners up twenty to three
on the Patriots as they are at the half in
Santa Clara.

In motion to sky more moving short to the right
as mahomes gone get long, coming down the near side,
the passes card Tuxtown, d City along bomb and the
Chiefs finally get there up fifty four.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
Yard bomb back to Dan Byer and Carry Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
On Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. A highlight there courtesy
of ninety six point five the Fan Chiefs Radio Network.
Kansas City right now down three to the Chargers with
twenty five seconds to go until halftime, facing a third
and twenty and they just cross midfield and I wonder
if we're going to see a long Harrison Butker field
goal attempt, as Patrick Mahomes has them at four and ten.
(35:41):
We'll see what the Chiefs try to do in the situation.
But the Chargers are up three. As for the other games,
the Commanders in command against the Cardinals twenty four to seven,
and they have forced an Arizona punt, so Washington's got
the football back at around their own forty yard line.
At the half, it is the Niners twenty, Patriots three
and the Raiders and right now at the half a
(36:01):
tied up at ten apiece, they are going to bring
Harrison Butcker up for a long kick. In the meantime,
we'll go to our fantasy expert, Ryan Berschinger or some fantasy.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Numbers, Fantasy hits and missing or.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Were there some missus today? Bursch I know that's always
a theme, but who did hit actually in fantasy footb.
Speaker 12 (36:23):
Yeah, let's let's start with the hits. By the way,
thank you for calling me an expert. That's a very
kind adjective for me, especially given the way things have
gone for me today.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
So let's look at the hits. Though it happens, it's yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
Sorry, I don't have a guillotine sound effect here.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
Yeah, chopping of the head.
Speaker 12 (36:40):
Yeah that we'll get to that in a second. Jordan
Love had a great game in his return. Unfortunately, the
Packers did come up short, but three hundred and eighty
nine yards, four touchdowns through the air, did have three
interceptions also at a six yard run there. Justin Field's
for good measure also had a very strong game Fantasy wise,
three three hundred and twelve yards and a touchdown pass,
ten rushes for fifty five yards and two touchdowns on
(37:03):
the ground. DeAndre Swift a guy that a lot of
fantasy owners gave up on ahead of this week because
he's had a really rough go of it for the
first couple of weeks. Guess what, He's your top scoring
running back on the day. Sixteen rushes for ninety three
yards and a touchdown on the ground, seven catches for
seventy two yards through the air. Nico Collins a huge day,
twelve catches on fifteen targets for one hundred and fifty
(37:25):
one yards and a touchdown, and Tucker Kraft your top
scoring tight end on the day thus far. Six catches
on nine targets for fifty three yards and a touchdown
in your missus. Yes, Matt Stafford did have a rough
one twenty of twenty nine for two hundred and twenty
four yards and an interception. Today's missus is dedicated to BRICEE.
Speaker 5 (37:45):
Hall.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
Breece.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
That wasn't a good day for any jet No, no, no,
it wasn't.
Speaker 12 (37:54):
But as someone who relied on you and as someone
who needed you to to carry my team through guillotine. Yeah,
Breesehall had ten rushes for four yards, two catches on
five targets.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
Not good, Ryan, and a bunch of miss blocks and
past protection to that to the mix.
Speaker 12 (38:15):
You know what, let's keep why not you should start.
We can absolutely pile on Breze Hall today. Let's be
like the Broncos and just pile on Breeze Hall right now.
Because Roma Dunes had one catch, three targets for ten yards.
None of the Bears receivers really had a good I mean,
DJ Moore did catch a touchdown, but DeAndre Swift was
their leading receiver by a lot and for good measure. Hey,
(38:38):
Kyle Pitts, thank you. You guys were talking to Jonathan
Vilma about what's the deal with Kyle pits here? Zero
catches on three targets. That's the deal with Kyle Pitts
right now in the Falcons offense. I guess it doesn't
matter because the Falcons win without him.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Anyway, Whenever you say what's the day, you gotta do
it in Jerry Seinfeld the fits because he's got zero
catches and those are your fantasy hits and missus for today.
I feel like I'm Jerry where I'm even Stephen.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
You know I'm not.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
You know, you're not like George losing everything, and you know,
like Jerry is even Steven. I hit him up at
Ryan Berschinger. Chris Proffett is our technical producer, rocking the
Tommy DeVito Jersey today, looking sharp as always. Monty Bilanos
is at the news desk. Do we have any finals
from baseball? Moncey started to pull you, but I thought
(39:33):
I saw the Mets Brewers go final.
Speaker 7 (39:35):
Yes, So it seems as though the only, the only
game is still going on, which is it's going to
be over probably soon. At the top of the ninth inning,
Royals are still on top of the Braves for to two,
so I guess anything can happen. But yeah, basically, the
Mets and the Diamondbacks have one all right.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
There it is so doubleheader will mean something tomorrow and
they will have to play the doubleheader tomorrow between the
Braves and Mets in Atlanta. He is carry roads. I'm
Dan Byer.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Commanders facing a third and five, and what do you know,
Jaden Daniels has completed another pass, but just shy of
the sticks. I think they go for it up twenty
four to seven, and they kicked by Harrison Bucker sixty
five yard field goal just short. So they go to
halftime in La Chargers on top of the Chiefs ten
to seven. What is wrong with Caleb Williams and what's
(40:23):
right with Jayden Daniels. We'll discuss. He's carry roads. I'm
Dan Byer. That's next on Fox.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
The Raiders driving right now, but facing a crucial third dollars.
Speaker 4 (40:37):
They're tied with the Browns of the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
Yes, Patriots getting into the end zone, making it a
game in Santa Clara.
Speaker 4 (40:45):
And from the.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
Words of Andy Reid on Rashi Rice's knee injury, quote
yeah it's not good end quote, as he told Tracy
Wolfson as they went to halftime in Los Angeles. We
are broadcasting live from the tirereck dot Com studio. Tirec
dot Com will help you get there at unmetch selection,
fast free shipping, free road as a protection. You know,
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirec dot com the way
(41:09):
tire buying should be. And it's what we kind of
touched off earlier in the show is this Chiefs team
has had to deal with injuries throughout which every NFL
team has to deal with injuries. These are just coming
coming at key position players, skill position players. And now
the Rashi Rice news does not sound good according to
Andy Reid.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
Yeah, no, it sucks when injuries happened where you know
the guy can't come back, and so you know, we
get in these situations. Man, that's why these games matter
so much. We talked about earlier. Plan with your food.
You lose a couple of games that you're supposed to win,
then the injury bug comes into play, then it's trouble
for your team.
Speaker 4 (41:49):
So hopefully, Rashi.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
Rice, the injury isn't as bad as you know Andy
just said, but it doesn't look good right now.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
So Jaden Daniels looks good again for the Washington Commanders
touchdown run. You heard Moncy talk about it. Twenty point
lead for the Commanders as they are playing in Arizona
with about four minutes to go in the third quarter.
James Conner's just taking a run across the fifty in
to Washington territory. But again, these birds are down twenty points,
(42:17):
your former team. I don't know if it's the jersey
for those that if you check out our videos online,
Carrie brings in his jersey. I bring in my punt
passing kick trophy from when I was nine, and then
we set up with my mini helmets. And today Carrie
were brought in his black Cardinals jersey that he wore
as a member of the Cardinals. And well, right now
(42:39):
it's black because it's a funeral. That's why they're down twenty.
But Jayden Daniels wearing the white jersey today and looking
pretty clean for the second straight week. Heck even less
than a week, considering what he did on Monday night
when the Commanders didn't have to punt. Tresway has punted
just one time in this game. They didn't have to
(42:59):
punt the week before because they scored on all of
their possessions with field goals against the New York Giants.
I mean, this thing is rolling and then what gets
rolling carry is the conversation of did the Chicago Bears
make the wrong decision at number one overall? With considering
how good things are going with Jaden Daniels at quarterback
for Washington. Caleb Williams today the first overall pick for
(43:21):
the Chicago Bears in that twenty four to eighteen win,
did throw about throw for one hundred and fifty seven
yards and a touchdown seventeen of twenty three. Also added
twelve yards on the ground, had a run inside the
ten yard line, then made the smart business decision to slide.
Josh Allen would have dove head first for the goal
(43:43):
line with Kaeleb Williams to do that.
Speaker 4 (43:45):
But Bears are two and two.
Speaker 2 (43:46):
But it hasn't really been because of the play of
the quarterback where it feels like it's the complete opposite
with the Washington Commanders, who could be three to one,
completely on the shoulders of their quarterback.
Speaker 3 (43:56):
Yeah, the conversation's going to follow them for the rest
of their careers. You know, who should have been one
or two or whatever the case may be. Obviously right now,
it looks better for Jayden Daniels. He's played in a
situation where I think he has the better the better
support staff coaching staff around him at the moment. Cliff
has been a Cliff Kingsbury has been a head coach also,
(44:16):
so he's able to actually invest in and give him
some of the knowledge of the game from a different perspective.
And he also he had experience with the type of
guy like Jaden Daniels and Kyler Murray in Arizona, so
you know, the game plan around those two and the
things that he can devise will probably be probably be similar.
So we're seeing more success with him right now. But
(44:39):
let's not count out Caleb Williams yet.
Speaker 4 (44:41):
I'm not counting out Caleb Williams at all.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
The things that I have seen so far, unfortunately is
he does look like the same player that played in college.
And honestly, I don't blame Caleb Williams for that. I
blame Shane Waldron and the Bears coaching staff for his development. Also,
the offensive line has been a key point that has
been talked about over the last couple of weeks. Bill
(45:05):
Belichick's comments in Week one or leading into the season
about Caleb Williams, I think magnified things. But also when
Belichick a couple of weeks later said, why are you
drafting a wide receiver at number nine when you need
help on the offensive line? Like wouldn't you do that?
I think that also makes a lot of sense. And
I think that's where people have there that are scratching
(45:27):
their heads. I don't care if Jaden Daniels carry goes
on and has an Hall of Fame career as a
quarterback in the National Football League. The Chicago Bears made
the right decision. They made the right decision for this draft.
I have felt that the Bears in terms of how
you look at their quarterback position, and if you want
(45:47):
to say did they make the right or wrong decision,
you have to look at it from the point of
view of last year as well, when they had the
number one overall pick and chose to trade it away
to the Carolina Panthers solely because of the success of CJ.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
Stroud.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
I've said it before time and time again. When we
analyze on if the Bears made the right pick at quarterback,
I think you have to take last year into account.
I think the Carolina Panthers would like a redo on
their picking of Bryce Young. Yeah, but when you look
at this specific draft, I just think it was a
no brainer that it was Caleb Williams, just like I
(46:25):
think it was the no brainer that Greg Odin was
the first overall pick of the Portland Trailblazers and Kevin
Durant was the second overall pick. I understand that greg
Odin's career down hindsight in twenty twenty ended because of injuries,
but you take Greg Oden with that pick, you don't
be cute with it. You don't try to outsmart yourself.
(46:47):
And the Bears could have had opportunities Carrie to even
trade this pick, and they weren't cute with it. They said,
we're just gonna make the pick, and we're gonna take
Kayleb Williams, and he's gonna be our guy. They absolutely
made the correct pick. I don't know if they made
the correct offensive court pick, and in fact, I would
say that they didn't. And I don't think that they
have the great head coach pick. Right now. There's a
team that won seven games last year and doesn't look
(47:08):
much different from the team that won last year with
all of these added new pieces this year, so I
think something has to change, But I do not have
hindsight twenty twenty when we're coming to this decision on
who is the right quarterback and should Jaden Daniels have
gone to Chicago, It was Caleb Williams every single day
of the week for me.
Speaker 3 (47:27):
Yeah, it was Caleb Williams for everybody pretty much going
into the draft. And then you get Jade and Daniels
playing out of his mind his last year in LSU
and you know, being int Heisman went into Heisman and
having that whole situation happened where now you start to
pick up steam and I think that conversation is a
real conversation. But like I said, right now, you know,
I think Jayden Daniels has the better coaching staff, the
(47:50):
better support system around him, and that shows and I
think you get to see that as early on in
their careers. Jayden Daniels, the stuff that he's doing, the
stuff that he been asked to do, isn't a lot
of guys can do it now the way that Jayden
has done it.
Speaker 4 (48:06):
It looks it looks.
Speaker 3 (48:07):
Really good though, Like he's really athletic, he can make plays,
with his feet. He's very accurate, but he's not been
asked to throw the ball down the field a lot.
This last game he did. He made some key throws
in that second half, obviously to win the game. But
I mean, it's been safe stuff and he's played really well.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
I also think that we become a prisoner of what
we see in those standalone games, those exclusive windows. And honestly,
this Jade and Daniels conversation that we're having, we weren't
talking about him after Week one they were blown up
by the Buccaneers. He had a good statistical fantasy game
that of course, you know, I do the Fantasy podcast
(48:46):
with Mike Carmen and I Want Your Flex and we
talk about Jaden Daniels and his fantasy value. But when
you get blown up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in
Week one, doesn't matter on the grand scale of things
on if you had a great game or not. Your
team was completely out of it. The next week then,
as we said, carry yeah, they kept on scoring and
scoring and scoring with their only scoring field goals. Yes,
(49:07):
So this this Jade and Daniels conversation really has been
this week, and it really wasn't even Monday, because I hadn't
even played the game against the Bengals that we all saw.
So it's been less than a week and we're ready
to make the ultimate you know, swipe, and I'm seeing
clips on TikTok of what analyst really like Jayden Daniels
at that point, and I just I don't think it's
(49:28):
fair to Caleb Williams at this point. Caleb Williams does
have to play better. He's gonna have to be better,
But to your point, there's got to be a better
system around him.
Speaker 4 (49:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
No, I mean, yes, we are prisoners of the moment
obviously in this in our life right now. That's just
what it is. I was saying the same thing. I
knew after that game, people are going to start anointing
him the next big thing. And obviously, you know, when
you play in a game primetime like that and you
show up the way that he did and have a
game that he did, it's it. I guess it's a
natural progression of that now. But yeah, you gotta pump
(49:59):
the brakes man. Four games, four weeks into the season,
and you're starting to, you know, say that he's the
better prospect of the better player, and it's take it
takes more than that.
Speaker 2 (50:09):
Cameron Dicker is on for a fifty five yard field
goal attempt for the Chargers, up ten to seven in
their game against the Chiefs, well just early in the
third quarter, and it looks like Dicker is gonna miss
this one wide to the right, so it's gonna stay
ten to seven. Butcker misses the sixty five yard or
at the end of the half, and now Dicker misses
from fifty five. At the beginning of the second half,
(50:30):
the Niners are in the end zone after the Patriots
got within ten, Jordan Mason scored from four yards out.
Extra point was good. San Francisco's back up twenty seven
to ten in that contest. Midway through the third quarter
in Las Vegas, the Raiders have just picked off to
Shan Watson a ricochet.
Speaker 4 (50:49):
Up thirteen to ten. The Raiders.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
Now we'll get the football back near midfield, and as
we mentioned, the Commanders with a lead on Arizona. Arizona
though pulling a bit closer, James Conner getting into the
end zone on a touchdown run for Arizona. It's twenty
seven to fourteen Commanders over the Cardinals at the end
of the third quarter in Glendale, hit carry up at
(51:10):
carry twenty five roads. You could find me at dan
Byer on Fox. What did you think of Aaron Rodgers
day today for the New York Jets in that loss
to the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 4 (51:22):
It was not good he played. They had no rhythm.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
It was a wet, rainy day, so to push the
ball downfield, neither team could do that. Denver play really
close to the line of strit and line of scrimmage,
stopped to run. Put a lot of pressure on Aaron.
I think he was sacked five times a day, so
he never really got a rhythm. They were around around
his legs a lot today and he got I think
he got his ankle rolled up on a little bit,
(51:47):
and so he was a little hobbled. It was a
bad day. They didn't look good. They only scored nine
points pretty much. I saw a tweet which is pretty funny,
but somebody said that I guess since Zach Wilson was
in the building, they were reverted it.
Speaker 4 (52:00):
Back to that. It was pretty hard, so that's where
we were.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Bo Nick said a Zach Wilson sort of lying twelve
of twenty five sixty yards did have the touchdown pass,
but twelve of twenty five for sixty yards. For sixty yards,
Rogers went twenty four of forty two two hundred and
twenty five yards. He looked like he was more mobile.
He didn't look great running, but he did run and
(52:24):
was mobile. But you know what it reminded me of.
It actually reminded me a little of the Aaron Rodgers
that we saw in the last year in Green Bay.
Speaker 4 (52:33):
And I think that we we felt that Aaron Rodgers
was just going to turn it on as this MVP candidate,
and no disrespect to the Titans and Patriots, but he
played a good half against the of the Titans, and
then you dominate an overmatched Patriots team on a short week.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Denver came in. Denver had been on the road, they
won in Tampa last week. They had every reason not
to care about this game because now you're back on
on the East coast again, you've started three or four
on the road, you've been across the entire country, and
you found a way to win. Don't throw at Patrick's
or Tan That's not a good thing to do. I
just think what we saw from Rodgers is we thought, oh,
(53:13):
when Aaron Rodgers has ticked. He just turns it on
and is in the MVP caliber quarterback And I don't
think that's the case anymore. And that's what you get
when you have a foty year old quarterback. I think
that he could have done more today to help the
Jets win a game like this that you absolutely cannot
lose if you're the New York Jets.
Speaker 4 (53:30):
Yeah, you bring Aaron Rodgers in to win these games. Obviously.
Speaker 3 (53:33):
You if he has the ball last, you expect him
to get them in position to win the game.
Speaker 4 (53:38):
They had a long field goal attempt, but fifty eight
yard it was it fifty eight, Yeah it was fifty.
It was fifty. But so he got him in, he
got him in position.
Speaker 3 (53:46):
But yeah, if you watch the game, there was no
point in that game where you thought Aaron Rodgers was
going to take over that game.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
He had a fumble that should have been called the fumble,
but the Broncos were out of challenges so they couldn't
challenge the call. Denver would have gotten good field position.
Denver also completely botched the late minute situation. They tried
to get the Jets to use their timeouts, and they did,
but they had a third and three call that they
didn't even try to get the first down. They just
had Bo Nicks run a quarterback keeper basically said just
get down, don't fumble the ball, and we'll try a
(54:13):
long field goal. Will Lutz came out, missed the field goal,
and now all of a sudden, there's ninety seconds on
the clock and Aaron Rodgers is starting for Basically he's
on forty yard line and you have the zeroline who's
got the long leg, so you know you only need
to get fifteen or twenty yards, and they do that,
but they couldn't get any more than that. The Packers
his final year, remember they lost to the Lions on
the final night on that Sunday night game, but they
(54:35):
also had to play really good football down the stretch
to even get into the playoff race at that point.
And that was before Aaron Rodgers came off of an Achilles' injury.
I'm not saying we're always going to see this sort
of Aaron Rodgers. I just think that today was more
of a reflection of, all right, maybe this isn't the
Aaron Rodgers MVP version from three years ago that we
(54:55):
are now getting with the new York Jets.
Speaker 4 (54:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:57):
I mean it's easy to say that today because I
agree with you. Today it didn't look good. There were
moments when he did scumble around and look, you know,
ag agile enough to you know, kind of steal make
plays and extend plays and make some plays down the field.
But there was also moments in this game where he
looked old.
Speaker 4 (55:15):
Yes, when your defense holds him to ten points, you
expect to win that game, if you're for sure.
Speaker 5 (55:21):
And sure they did not.
Speaker 2 (55:23):
All right, So here's where we stand in these four
late games. Commander's up thirteen on the Cardinals early in
the fourth, Washington driving again. Chargers up three on the Chiefs,
ten to seven, nine thirty to go on the third quarter.
The Raiders are in Cleveland Territory with a three point lead,
six forty eight left to go in the third quarter,
and it's the San Francisco forty nine Ers leading the
Patriots twenty seven to ten as they play in Santa Clara.
(55:46):
Midway through the third quarter. He is Carrie Roads. I'm
Dan Byer, our NFL insider Adam Kaplan next year on

Speaker 1 (56:05):
Big five eleven two hundred pounder. They switch him out,
they keep him in the backfield. They run a jet
sweep to DJ Turner through the left.
Speaker 11 (56:13):
Side, right to ten to fifteen.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
Turner sho me the tenth, the.
Speaker 13 (56:16):
Five the DoD TOUCHDOWNE.
Speaker 10 (56:20):
DJ Turner with his first career touchdown and it's on
an eighteen yard wide receiver run.
Speaker 1 (56:30):
Once again, here's Dan Byer and Carry Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
Ah, that's my bad. It's a good guys, bad guys game.
White uniforms against the black uniforms, and it's the silver.
I'm blacketting the best of the brons. Right now, twenty
to ten, four minutes to go in the third quarter,
Raider Nation Radio nine twenty am on the call. It
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He is the all
pro and starter from day one. Carry Rhodes, I am
(56:55):
Dan Byer. Hit him up at Carrie twenty five Roads.
You can find me at dan byeron Fox. Coming up
in about forty minutes or so, we will have Carrie's
Breakdown Fast Times with Carrie Rhoades where we take a
play from week four, Carrie breaks it down and tells
you how to happen. This week's game was a play
that decided the outcome in Houston between the Texans and Jaguars.
(57:17):
But again that comes up in about forty minutes. We'll
bring in Adam Kaplan as we do that. The Niners
are up on the Patriots twenty seven to ten. Commanders
into the end zone. Arry mclaurins kind of touchdown pass
from Jaden Daniels and then a two point conversion passed
zach Ertz was good. Thirty five to fourteen. Commanders continue
to roll over Arizona eight minutes to go in that contest,
(57:38):
while the Chargers continue to hold that ten to three
lead over the Chiefs in the third quarter in La
Quite a week for Jadan Daniels. Adam Kaplan, who writes
for the Pro Football Network and of course the Inside
the Birds podcast in our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider,
I was just telling Caerry earlier. I'm not sure if
you heard it or not, but I still think you
take Caleb Williams number one. If you're the Chicago I
(58:00):
know that conversation is probably gonna heat up a lot more,
even after what happened on Monday night and what's happening today,
was it ever any discussion that Jayden Daniels could maybe
go number one to Chicago.
Speaker 5 (58:10):
No.
Speaker 13 (58:11):
No, I've been backed my first mock draft dan back
in January, I think summer January for Pro Football Network.
I put Williams in there because it's you have to
look down the line, right, Yeah, sure Daniels. And I'm
not surprised that Daniels was doing well. I was very
high on him coming the draft. I had some pretty
good information on him. But and I know kay Williams
(58:32):
is not played particularly well. They've had some moments. He's
got a great arm that there's He's got a lot
of ability. What people have to understand is he's not
It's the first time in his career's played in a
timing based offense. He's playing in a West Coast offense.
It takes time. You're not gonna You're not going to
master that scheme in one season. It's going to take time.
You got to be patient. They've you know, they've done
(58:52):
a good job of building some pass targets around them.
They've got a really good group offensive line could use
him upgrading, but I'm not surprised it's calling like it hasn't. Daniels.
He's kind of up there with Stroud as a processor.
He just sees it. He carry noses as a former player.
When a quarterback could see it, it all slows down
for him. And then the other part about Daniels is man,
(59:13):
he could run. And I know for a fact talking
to people of work with Cliff Kingsbury, he wants his
quarterbacks to be able to run inside the red zone
and man, does he run well inside that area.
Speaker 4 (59:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (59:22):
I know.
Speaker 3 (59:23):
We live in a society now, Adam, where we need
to anoint somebody the next thing, right. I mean, we're
four weeks in and people call him Jayon Daniels the
best player in the league.
Speaker 13 (59:34):
So when people fired, you know, it's just it's the sport.
Everybody needs to be fired after week four if your
team's not doing well and people need to be betch
you know exactly.
Speaker 3 (59:41):
So that's pumped the brakes a little bit. But I
want to talk about that Saints Falcons.
Speaker 4 (59:44):
Game a little bit.
Speaker 3 (59:45):
Yeah, good game, great game, and obviously the Saints come
up short today but didn't give up any defensive touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (59:52):
How did they end up losing that game?
Speaker 13 (59:55):
Yeah, And look a couple of things. Taysom Hill was
phenomenal before he got hurt. He In fact, I would
argue they might have beaten the Eagles two weeks ago.
Yet Hill scores on six of his touches. He scores twice.
And then Derek Carr does what he does, He just something.
And then Chris o'love got hurt by the way late
(01:00:16):
in the game that I think that actually figured into it.
It really did look like the Saints were going to
pull this off after Kamara scored. But look, young Wayko
had to hit a fifty eight yard Let's not forget
that wasn't like real easy.
Speaker 6 (01:00:32):
You know.
Speaker 13 (01:00:32):
The other thing is Kirk Cousins has not really looked
that good. Let let's that's another thing. I know, it's
four weeks he he made like each game seems to
make a couple of throws. You go, okay, I mean
that that's what we expect out of Kirk Cousins. But
Rusty whatever you get timing, he doesn't look all that good.
They've they're down a couple inside backers. Trey Anderson, who
(01:00:53):
started today sufter knee injury, he's already starting for somebody
else that that that does concern me, you know, I
get Look, I I give the Falcons credit. They're okay,
They're not nearly as good as the hype.
Speaker 5 (01:01:04):
You know.
Speaker 13 (01:01:04):
They were a big hype team for the betters before
the season. They were the heavy favorite to win the
NFC South and the team and I picked the Bucks
had a pretty convincing win to get to beat a
Beagles team today.
Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
Yeah, Adam Gavin joining us here on Fox Sports Radio,
Chiefs Harrison Bucker kicks a thirty seven yard field goal,
So that game is now tied up at ten with
the Chargers. Chargers have the football, they are in Kansas
City Territory, five minutes to go in the third quarter.
I think the Vikings are the story right now in
the league. And I'll say this Adam, because they started
(01:01:35):
the show talking with carry about this. I think Donald's
doing great. I think that justin Jefferson is You've been
spectacular so far. But I can't give them the MVP
because they just feel it's so fueled by their defense.
Where are you and what's really made the difference for
Minnesota to be four?
Speaker 4 (01:01:52):
Now?
Speaker 13 (01:01:52):
Yeah, let's start with Brian Flores, for my money, the
best defensive mind in the national football Like, this is
not a criticism of any other defense coordinator.
Speaker 5 (01:02:00):
Were he mars So. I think it's.
Speaker 13 (01:02:01):
Phenomenal, uh in terms of scheming and all these great
defense coordinators. But it's what you do with the talent
you're given. If you went through there starting eleven guys,
you go, okay, I I really don't see a pro
bowler here. Jonathan Grenard came over from Houston a very
underrated pass rusher, but Daniel Hunter is better than him,
and he's now with Houston. Kind of changed teams there.
(01:02:25):
They don't really have what you call an A level player.
They just the scheme is phenomenal and Flora seems to
change it up every week. It's it's it's amazing, And
I give Jordan Love credit play coming back from the
ncl S brain.
Speaker 5 (01:02:37):
He battled through.
Speaker 13 (01:02:38):
It some ill evised passes. I couldnt imagine trying to
prepare for Brian Flores because he I don't know, Carrie
or Dan if you've seen this, but I don't know.
If a coordinator seems to change his scheme every other week,
it's really remarkable.
Speaker 5 (01:02:52):
He's able to do.
Speaker 3 (01:02:52):
Yeah, Adam, he's he's from the Belichick tree. Yeah, that thing,
it's you would, you would. Yeah, you get different looks
every game and it's very game plan specific. So yeah,
Brian falls into that category as well. But I think
he's doing a great job.
Speaker 4 (01:03:07):
Also.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
I also just I mean, Dan keep going back and
forth on is. I want to give Sam Donald with
his flowers though, because I mean, the guy's playing out
of his mind.
Speaker 5 (01:03:14):
He's not.
Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
He seems to make one bad play every game here
and there, even though he'll have three four toes, he'll
have a pick. So I'm worried about that down the stretch.
But let's talk about the addition of Jordan Addison to
that group as well.
Speaker 13 (01:03:28):
Yeah, coming back from his Zacho interry, I think there's
no question that adds something to a Jalen Naylor who
was backing him up. He had scored in the first
three games, so I think the pass protection is another
thing which had been bad for years.
Speaker 5 (01:03:38):
Is held up.
Speaker 13 (01:03:40):
But let's give Let's give Kevin O'Connell, the head coach
who also calls the place he's a quarterback whisper.
Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
J J.
Speaker 13 (01:03:46):
McCarthy played great in the game. That they got hurt
against the Raiders in the preseason game one. I know
it's usually I don't talk about that stuff, but McCarthy
was really coming along and unfortunately he's suffort of devastating.
Speaker 5 (01:03:56):
An the injury when we back to the spring.
Speaker 13 (01:03:58):
But yeah, see, Darnald's problem would be right, the longer
he would hold on it, the more mistakes he'd make.
He he overthinks he doesn't process all that well. I
don't get rid of the football. He's playing faster, making
quicker decisions. And again, this is a West Coast offense, which,
by the way, he played in last year with the
Niners that I was told would help him. It absolutely
(01:04:20):
has helped him. But I went expecting this. This is
just Dan brought up the defense. Yes, that's the number
one reason. But Donald is one A. He's never really
played well in his career. Folks. By the way, he's
never played well like you'd have to go through, never
play four games in a row like this is a
lot for him.
Speaker 5 (01:04:36):
It's pretty amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:04:37):
Adam Kaplan joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. He's
Carrie Rhodes. I'm Dan Beyer to let you know the
Chargers facing a third and six. It appears they got it,
but there's some laundry on the field. They are in
Kansas City territory. It's going to be an offsides penalty
on the Chief, so the Chargers will have a first
fresh set of downs inside the Kansas City thirty yard line.
(01:05:00):
They are again tied up at ten apiece with about
two minutes to go in the third quarter of that contest.
All right, what is I understand? Is it just because
it's no Lane Johnson, no DeVante Smith, no aj Brown.
Buccaneers seemed dominant from the beginning. I'm not trying to
give the Eagles excuses, but it's a team that you're
(01:05:21):
close to. Can we put it solely on the injuries
today and why they were just outmatched by Tampa Bay?
Speaker 13 (01:05:27):
Well, look, that's two weeks they've scored a total thirty
one points, so yeah, that's definitely a big part of it.
But their tackling was atrocious. I mean, the Bucks really
are not very good at running back. Rashid Rashad White
doesn't run all that well. He's got kind of userved
by Bucky Irving a fourth round out of Oregon. They
don't really run it that well. But the protection was great.
Here's the real story, folks. The Eagles had their first
(01:05:49):
sacks from our edge rusher today too, but they're inconsequential.
Their past rush has been atrocious. And Bryce Hoff, the
seventeen million a year ed rusher they signed from the Jets,
he's never played in a scheme where he stands up,
and he stands up as a pass rusher. He's not
getting it. He's dropping in coverage. He's He's basically been
replaced by thirty six year old edge rusher Brandon Graham,
(01:06:11):
who says he's retiring after the season.
Speaker 5 (01:06:12):
That's not what Eagles wanted. Not good.
Speaker 4 (01:06:15):
So he's having a swan song.
Speaker 5 (01:06:17):
That's y awesome. Listen, listen.
Speaker 13 (01:06:20):
He'll go in the Eagles Hall of Fame. Yeah, had
the strip sack of the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (01:06:23):
Great guy.
Speaker 13 (01:06:24):
His future in the media if he wants it, but
this is not. They don't want him playing sixty seventy
percent of the stamps of thirty six. They got problems now.
They there buys coming up. You know that the BI
will certainly help him. I don't think they probably wanted
it the fifth week up to start the season, but
they've got all these injuries Dan talked about and yeah,
they don't look good, but they'll be Offensively. I'm not
(01:06:44):
really worried about them. Defensively is where I would have
real concerns.
Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
I want to talk about the a team that was
potentially going to be one to four today, but they
got to win in Carolina today, the Cincinnati Bengals. Big
win today obviously to get to get off the snow,
so to speak, Budge, right, what do we speak?
Speaker 4 (01:07:02):
What are we looking at with this team?
Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
Are they going to be able to rally again and
so I get in some momentimumre or are they going
to be a bad team.
Speaker 5 (01:07:09):
Yeah, they're not gonna make the playoffs.
Speaker 13 (01:07:10):
But the good thing is t Higgins is back from
the hamsterring entry now two weeks. Chase had a long
touchdown catch.
Speaker 5 (01:07:16):
That was good to see.
Speaker 13 (01:07:18):
Their offensive line, which is not great, gave burw some protection.
They were able to run the ball. Boy, Chase Brown
was a major factor. Really wasn't running back. This is
what they're expecting. They actually ran the ball well. They're
not a good running team, but they ran the ball well.
I mean that was good that they got that. Andy
Dalton kind of came down to earth in the yet
another anti Dalton revenge balls. Look the Bengals, I think
(01:07:39):
what happened with them is the turmoil of the Chase situation,
completely cloud of them week one against a bad Patriots team.
Speaker 5 (01:07:45):
They weren't ready to play that game.
Speaker 13 (01:07:47):
Burrow had not looked really comfortable and don't forget Higgins
miss time with a hamstring problem. Their defense is another
story that their defense has just not been They're not
getting pressure on the quarterback. It's a it's been a disappointment. Yeah,
if folks man, maybe we'll talk more about it next
week as we had in a week or we talked
about week five, because we'll be talking about a lot
of it by the time we speak. But we could
(01:08:08):
probably give our list of the most disappointing teams. Bengs
will certainly have to be in our top four.
Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, Cleveland Browns would be there as well.
They've just put some points on the board recovering as
a mere White fumble and RODNYE. McCleod picked it up
and took it to the house. But to keep with
the theme of disappointments, they missed the extra point. So
it's twenty to sixteen Raiders on top of the Browns.
Dustin Hopkins no good on the pat early in the
(01:08:34):
fourth quarter. All right, I think this is the perfect
time for it. You said that be for another time.
Joe Flacco comes in for Anthony Richardson today, and he's
not in Cleveland, where Deshaun Watson has had struggles this year.
They don't think they're Richardson injury is serious. So I
don't know you want it? Yeah, how long Flacco will
(01:08:54):
be in? But Flacco's performance today and how did he
end up in India not Cleveland?
Speaker 13 (01:09:00):
All right, So here's just tell you. I'm just gonna
tell you what happened. I thought, all right, sure, if
we talked about this last week.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
You what you said was that'll be for another time,
and I thought that this.
Speaker 13 (01:09:08):
Well, I gave you some Here's what happened.
Speaker 5 (01:09:10):
Okay.
Speaker 13 (01:09:11):
So I was going to report it that he was
going back to Cleveland. I got a tip that said, no,
the Browns changed for their mind. He was told that
they were going to bring him back, and then when
they got back from the combine, they had a change
of heart.
Speaker 4 (01:09:25):
This is just me.
Speaker 13 (01:09:26):
I'm not saying this is what the Browns wanted to do,
but I think it had something to do with having
to do with Flacco over Watsons shoulder. That's just my
opinions speaking in multiple sources on this situation. They obviously
made a terrible mistake. I mean, it was just dumb,
but I just know the way it is when a
guy and although I don't know why Watson would Cary,
(01:09:47):
He's got ninety million coming after the season to him,
but I believe that had something to do with it.
Speaker 5 (01:09:51):
It's just my opinion based on people I spoke with.
Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
Adam.
Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
There was also a leak about that same kind of
concern with the sign of James Winston.
Speaker 4 (01:09:59):
Right, is that correct?
Speaker 13 (01:10:01):
What no James Jamis is? Uh, Jamis is actually know
James a little bit. We were actually represented by the
same agency many years ago. He's not like that. Uh,
he's in fact the same. Even when Jamis was not
playing well, Saints wanted them back. He's actually a really
good teammate. And by the way, Flaka is a fine teammate.
That the problem is. I think what with DeShawn This
(01:10:23):
is just again base on people I spoke with that
Joe Flacco took that city of Cleveland. He just they
the way he came to the whole story, coming off
the couchs throwing the ball with his kids.
Speaker 5 (01:10:35):
It's just it.
Speaker 13 (01:10:36):
Became such a story. And I think what happened is
I think this is just me. This is just my
opinion based on people I spoke with. I think Deshaun
took it personally because I'm just telling you, they were
they were going to bring Flacco back, then they changed
their mind. They did it one ad and no one.
No one knows exactly. People close to Joe don't know
exactly why. But talking to people behind the scenes and
(01:10:58):
some coaches around the league of ties to the Browns,
it seems like the brown just decided that because of
the Sean contract, they can't have any issues Sir Sean.
Speaker 5 (01:11:09):
And again that's just my opinion. We'll see what happened.
Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
I'll also just say this because when JJ McCarthy went
down with his injury, and I'm not saying Sam Donald
as the same sort of mental state as Deshaun Watson does,
but I felt that it would do Donald good to
not have the first round pick looking over his shoulder
at some point. If you're a Vikings fan, and I'm
not saying that's played a role in the start, just
to bring it full circle here. But I think it
(01:11:33):
helps for Donald to be like, all right, the job
is mine. I've got one year to do it. Sure,
let's see what I can do. So I can actually
understand Cleveland a little bit in that thinking of being like,
all right, if we've got the money invested, let's try
to make it the best possible scenario for him.
Speaker 13 (01:11:48):
So yes, yes, But but Donald also knew he was
not going to keep the job a very long McCarthy had.
He not going to hurt what's going to play, and
it was just a matter of which week it would be.
Speaker 4 (01:11:56):
Sure, But it's.
Speaker 13 (01:11:57):
Praying, I hear you. And by the way, he's a
free agent after the season, darnold.
Speaker 4 (01:12:01):
He's about to get paid and a league.
Speaker 13 (01:12:03):
Listen, and a league where a quarterback plays atrocious. One
of these days, guys, maybe we'll do it late in
the year. I love to rank the quarterbacks with you, guys.
I'm very curious where you would have certain quarterbacks. But again,
we don't have like all day, so we'll do it
another time.
Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
Yeah, we'll do it when there's like six teams on
buy Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
Right, exactly right, and yeah, I can't even focus right now.
Speaker 13 (01:12:23):
Exactly how much going on?
Speaker 5 (01:12:24):
IY? Buddy?
Speaker 4 (01:12:24):
All right, Adam, Thanks, we'll talk to you next week.
Speaker 5 (01:12:26):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
At Kaplin our NFL insider. Commanders are in the end zone.
Chargers are going to try to put some points on
the board. We go to the news desk. Kamansi, Blagos
has the latest.
Speaker 7 (01:12:36):
That's right, Commanders just getting in the end zone. They
have really just dominated this game against the Cardinals. Thirty
five to fourteen is a score with less than five
minutes to go in the game. Get in Daniel's twenty
six of thirty two hundred and thirty three yards one touchdown.
He also has a rushing touchdown. Another team is trying
to get in the end zone, and that is the Chargers.
They are at Kansas City's third yard line. I believe
(01:12:58):
it's fourth and one. They are tied right now with
the Chiefs that ten apiece. It is early, still in
the fourth quarter, so plenty of a game left, but
Chargers definitely trying to get in the end zone right now.
The Raiders still on top of the Browns twenty to sixteen.
They also just got going in the fourth quarter. And
the forty nine ers holding on to their lead over
the Patriots twenty seven to ten. Also early in the
(01:13:18):
fourth Rock Party twelve of twenty two for two hundred
and twenty five yards and one touchdown. Earlier today, the
Vikings they stay undefeated, beating the Packers thirty.
Speaker 8 (01:13:27):
One to twenty nine, even though they only scored three
points in the second half.
Speaker 7 (01:13:30):
But Vikings are four and oh baseball guys, we know
what's happening. So Braves loss, Mets and Diamondbacks won. Both
games will be played tomorrow between the Mets and the Braves.
If they split the doubleheader, they're both in. The Diamondbacks
only get in if a team sweeps. So I don't
understand why both of these teams are like, you forfeit
one game, you forfeit the other game.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
We're both well, I think you know you joke, but
if you win the first game, why would you put
any effort?
Speaker 4 (01:13:58):
I'm saying, yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:13:59):
Or why would did you play it?
Speaker 7 (01:14:00):
Like both of these teams you four her won for
with the other one we're both in. Yeah, I just
this is one of those situations where it's like, why
why risk injury? But yeah, the Diamondbacks can only get
in if a tweet if a team sweeps, and it's
official that Luisa is the first player in history to
win three consecutive batting titles with three different teams. But
apparently the Padres already said that's not gonna that's he's
(01:14:23):
not gonna make history next year because he's gonna stay
with the Padres.
Speaker 8 (01:14:26):
So that's it.
Speaker 4 (01:14:29):
Why are the Braves starting matt Olsen on the Mounded Games? Yes?
Speaker 7 (01:14:33):
Yeah, I don't understand how this is actually gonna happen,
how this bullheader can actually goes down.
Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
It would be It will be interesting because it is
in Atlanta as well, So the Braves win game one
if you're the fans there, Yeah, well we'll see.
Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
Well maybe relationship bas do they hate each other? Do
the head coaches like each other.
Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
Back?
Speaker 13 (01:14:53):
Right?
Speaker 9 (01:14:54):
Like?
Speaker 7 (01:14:54):
All of that could be Yes. I would love to
see matt Olsen pitch though. Oh that would be hilarious.
Speaker 8 (01:15:00):
That'd be good.
Speaker 4 (01:15:01):
She's Moncey Milanios.
Speaker 2 (01:15:02):
That's where you can find her on X and other
social media platforms.
Speaker 4 (01:15:06):
Find Carrie Rhodes at Carrie twenty five Roads.
Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox Live
from thee Tireraq dot Com Studios. I'll look at your
fantasy numbers and more. As the Raiders got the football
back up for as Moncey told you, Washington now extending
their lead forty two to fourteen on that late touchdown,
and the Chargers failed to get that fourth and one,
so the Chief would take over, but backed up in
their own territory. He's carry I'm Dan, that's next On

With Tucker in Motion, Minshewt gives the White running right,
hit in the backfield.
Speaker 14 (01:15:47):
Falls out, picked up by the brown picked up and
run it down the sideline Runney McCloud touchdown.
Speaker 13 (01:15:58):
Nobody wants to be contemplating live.
Speaker 14 (01:16:00):
If on that plane ride home you needed a huge turnover,
you got it. It started with obo O Coronco hit
them in the backfield. The Browns had it, then it
bounced out again and Rodney McCleod picking it up and
running it into the end zone.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
Back to Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
Brown's Radio network on the call as Cleveland and Las
Vegas are playing an interesting affair, to say the least.
Right now in Las Vegas, it appeared that Amari Cooper
got into the end zone, but now it appears you
may not have gotten into the end zone. So the
Raiders holding on to a four point lead as we
(01:16:41):
speak right now, playing again in Las Vegas. The other scores.
The Niners continue to lead the Patriots. It's twenty seven
to thirteen as they play in the fourth quarter two
minute warning. In Arizona, all Commanders up forty two to
fourteen on the Cardinals, and the Chiefs and Chargers still
tied up at ten a piece. Nine minutes to go
(01:17:02):
in the game. The Chargers were stopped on a fourth
and one inside the five yard line. The Chargers chose
not to take the points. Obviously, they went foward on
fourth down and did not get the conversion. But the
Chargers were able to hold Kansas City and now the
Chiefs have punted it away. So now the Chargers offense
(01:17:22):
will head back out of the field with the football
deep in their own territory but tied with Kansas City.
He's carried road, Tom Dan byer Loffroth tirech dot Com Studios.
Let's get a look at some fantasy numbers.
Speaker 1 (01:17:34):
For fantasy hits and the missus.
Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
All right, Ryan Berschinger, we've got some hits, We've got
some misses.
Speaker 2 (01:17:42):
Amari Cooper thought to be a hit. This touchdown off
the board is the Browns trail by four.
Speaker 12 (01:17:47):
Nope, and that keeps Amari Cooper in the miss category.
But we'll get there momentarily. Let's focus in on these
four late late window games. Here the Commanders are closing
out this forty two to fourteen victory over the Cardinals,
and you really have a lot of hits on the
Washington side of the ball. Jaden Daniels twenty six of
thirty for two hundred and thirty three yards and a
touchdown through the air, did have an interception, but on
(01:18:09):
the ground eight rushes for forty seven yards and a
touchdown for good measure, Brian Robinson jun your twenty one
carries one hundred and one yards and a touchdown on
the ground. He also he had three catches on five
or on three targets for twelve yards through the air.
If you've played Jeremy McNichols today, you were rewarded so
congratulations to the McNichols family. Eight carries on sixty for
(01:18:31):
sixty eight yards and two touchdowns on the ground, So
incredible numbers for Washington all round and receiving. Terry McLaurin
seven catches on ten targets for fifty two yards and
a touchdown. We applaud that et for Terry, Thank you
very much.
Speaker 4 (01:18:44):
I appreciate I got him for a mcnichkel with my
fab this week.
Speaker 12 (01:18:52):
Not a ton of hits around these other games here.
George Kittle is now your top scoring tight end on
the day. Kittle is at four catches on four targets
for forty five yards in a touchdown. Travis Kelce coming
back to life today six catches on seven targets for
seventy eight yards, and those numbers can still be growing.
But let's look at the misses here. Patrick Mahomes has
(01:19:13):
not done a ton for the Chiefs so far. Only
ten points on offense for the Chiefs so fifteen of
twenty three for one hundred and eighty one yards and
a touchdown and an interception. Rimandre Stevenson struggling to get
it going against the Niners. Eleven rushes for thirty four yards,
three catches on four targets for eleven yards. Brandon Ayuk
had a big thirty eight yard catch early on in
(01:19:33):
the game and since then has really not done much
at all, so it's still the slow start to the
season continues for a Uke. Right now, he's had two
catches on three targets for forty eight yards. As we mentioned,
Amari Cooper had a gigantic touchdown called back on a hold.
So right now and Mari's at three catches on six
targets for twenty two yards and a tight end Brock
Bowers in that game two catches on three targets for
(01:19:54):
nineteen yards thus far.
Speaker 4 (01:19:56):
And also carry Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
Ryan Berschinger needs six point one points six point two
points in our Guillotine League to survive until next week.
Speaker 12 (01:20:09):
Yes, so, uh, Patrick Molmes, let's get a game winning drive.
Speaker 4 (01:20:14):
Let's get back to Patrick Lee. Thank you, oh man.
Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
Good job by Monzi Milanos, who is in our Fox
Sports Radio Guillotine League right now projected to have one
of the highest points of the week.
Speaker 4 (01:20:26):
Good job Manzi, Yes, good job the high points.
Speaker 7 (01:20:29):
Give a shout out to Chase Brown, Thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (01:20:31):
Good job Chase Brown.
Speaker 8 (01:20:32):
Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
Yeah for everybody that cares the about the Fox Sports
Radio Guillotine League, which.
Speaker 4 (01:20:39):
Is none of you. I've got high points right now
this week.
Speaker 8 (01:20:42):
That's why you're doing this.
Speaker 7 (01:20:46):
Yes, I'm going to give credit over here just to
real about myself.
Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
More of me.
Speaker 2 (01:20:54):

But I'm just gonna kind of say what she just
told you. Chargers and Chiefs going down to the wire,
tied up at ten apiece. The Chiefs are knocking on
the door. There's five minutes left in the game in
Las Vegas, five and a half minutes. Raiders up four
on the Browns. It's twenty to sixteen. Cleveland, though, has
(01:21:37):
the football a crucial third and four right now on
their own sixteen yard line. As for the Niners at Patriots,
Niners yep to kick the field goal. They're up seventeen,
about five minutes left. The only question is are we
going to see Drake May in these final five minutes
or not. That's where we stand in these late games.
Browns unable to convert a pass to Jerry Judy was incomplete.
(01:22:00):
Cleveland will now punt it back to Las Vegas. The
Browns do have all three of their timeouts and Drake
May is not in the game. Jacoby Brissett remains in
for the Patriots. Because of these tight games going down
to the wire, where the Chargers and Chiefs have seven
minutes left and the Raiders and Browns have five minutes left,
We're going to take the time right now to do
what we do every week, and that allows our all
(01:22:20):
pro Carry Rhodes to break down a huge play that
happened in week four and tell you why it happened
and how it happened.
Speaker 4 (01:22:27):
We like to call it road.
Speaker 9 (01:22:30):
Huge hit by Carry Road last times with Carrie Roads.
Speaker 2 (01:22:34):
And this is the scenario. In Houston, Texans pick up
a big twenty four to twenty win over the Jacksonville Jaguars,
but it was in twenty four to twenty for very long.
Speaker 4 (01:22:44):
That's because the Texans were actually down twenty to seventeen
with twenty two seconds left, carry basing a second in
goal from their own one yard line, no timeouts for Houston.
How did they get it into the end zone. We're
going to hear it right now.
Speaker 13 (01:23:00):
Offset I CJ.
Speaker 4 (01:23:01):
Wolves after the right first to the en zone.
Speaker 1 (01:23:03):
Hits Storry have the Texan score.
Speaker 9 (01:23:06):
They lead.
Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
CJ. Straut TATORI, who's.
Speaker 6 (01:23:11):
Had a huge game.
Speaker 1 (01:23:13):
What's the Texans top?
Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
Top Texans Radio network, Kerry take it away.
Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
Yeah, So I want you to look at three things
on this play. Number one, it's second down in goals,
so in theory you have a couple a couple of
shots at the end zone.
Speaker 4 (01:23:26):
Here.
Speaker 3 (01:23:27):
Number two, twenty two seconds left with no timeouts, which
you stayed a dad. And number three, the personnel was
very very much the reason why this play works.
Speaker 4 (01:23:37):
So when you break it down, they took it down.
Speaker 3 (01:23:39):
They were in twenty one personnel, which leaves the base
defense in the game on this play, which is key
because the play they ran was a speed play to
get outside. They faked the handoff and the running back
goes straight to the end zone in the corner. There
they catch it for a touchdown. But I want you
to watch on this play the linebackers with the playfake.
(01:24:01):
He got held up for just one millisecond and that's
all it takes for the running back to get out
to the flat catch it for a touchdown. Big play
for the Texans to come back and win this game
down the stretch with eighteen seconds left.
Speaker 4 (01:24:13):
Come back.
Speaker 3 (01:24:13):
They win this game against Jacksonville because of the personnel
that can split beating them out with speed to the corner.
Easy touchdown, easy toss for Cjstrialt Texans with a huge
win over their division opponent, Jacksonville twenty four to twenty Houston.
Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
And the twenty one personal You mentioned two running backs,
one tight end. Correct, But with no timeouts, why would
Jacksonville have their base defense in at that time?
Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
Well, the only reason they would stay based on this play.
For me, that is a good question. I would probably
have substituted one of the linebackers for a speed guy,
a dime dying package safety that can come in and
make a play there. But yeah, it's all about personnel
with that twenty one personnel keeping in that base defense
for Jacksonville, they were able to beat the middle linebacker
or that safety if they had a combo coverage on
(01:25:03):
this play being man and man, but they didn't switch
to that personnel. They stayed in base, and I'm sure
Houston did their research on that and knowing that they
would stay in base in that formation.
Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
When you end up watching the highlight, and I understand,
if you're cruising around or you're breaking leaves or doing
whatever you're doing right now, you're you're not seeing this play.
But when you see it, Daria Gumbalwala, who scored it
for the Texans, was wide open. Yes, no one was
near him. And that's just because the linebacker didn't get.
Speaker 3 (01:25:30):
To a spot and because and then because of that
tight split. We've talked about that a lot sure, and
all the touchdowns that we talked about in this segment
so far, it's been what.
Speaker 4 (01:25:40):
You know, my type, condensed split.
Speaker 3 (01:25:42):
It's been condensed splits, and so it's almost like a
natural pick there. So the receiver also with his route,
he's taking the time to get into that route.
Speaker 4 (01:25:51):
It's a natural pick.
Speaker 3 (01:25:53):
It didn't even have to happen in this situation because
the linebacker was so slow to get out. But that's
what that formation helps.
Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
Wow. Great stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
Carry Roads, breaking it down fast times with carry Roads
happens each week here on Fox Sports Radio. What has
also happened in Los Angeles is the Chiefs are in
the end zone. Somaj p Ryan has scored a touchdown
run and the Chiefs have come back from a ten
to nothing deficit to now lead the Chargers seventeen to ten,
doing so without Rashi Rice in this game for a
(01:26:25):
majority of the game because on the Chief's second possession,
their second straight turnover, Rice ended up being injured when
he was hit by Patrick Mahomes. I know it sounds weird,
but what happened was Mahomes was picked off and then
as the Chargers were running the interception back, a fumble occurred,
so everyone was going after the ball, Rice trailing from
(01:26:47):
behind Mahomes coming from the other direction because he obviously
threw the pass, and Mahomes kind of collided with Rashie
Rice's knee, knocking Rice out of the game. Andy Reid
said at halftime talking to CBS that they didn't think
it was good. They didn't think that the status of
Rice was good. He's obviously been ruled out. But right
now the Chiefs come back with out Raschi Rice and
(01:27:09):
have seventeen unanswered points, and now Justin Herbert's going to
have to spin his magic with six or four left
to go down seven as they start to drive from
their own thirty yard line. As for what's happening in
Las Vegas, the Raiders are up on the Browns twenty
to sixteen. Raiders punted it back to Cleveland. So now
Cleveland as the football deep in their own territory as
(01:27:31):
they have now actually completed a pass and have gotten
around the forty forty five yard line. Jerry Judy with
the reception. He's got seventy two yards on six catches today.
So now Deshaun Watson carry has an opportunity to maybe
change the narrative of his that has been going on
over the last couple of weeks to the start of
the season.
Speaker 4 (01:27:51):
Yeah, this is a big drive for Watson and the Browns.
Speaker 3 (01:27:54):
You know, they've kind of floundered here to start with
their offense and being able to make big plays. I mean,
they got guys on the outside that shou'd be able
to make plays. I know they had the offensive line
issues to start early in this season as well, but
in a position now down four, two minutes and thirty
seconds left, you know this, if you can pull this
game out, this will go a long way for him
(01:28:15):
and his confidence in its team's confidence in him.
Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
I'm not trying to guess in any scenario of your
playing career, but I know that there were some great
seasons and then sometimes teams didn't have not so good seasons.
Your cardinal season, he started out four and oh we
touched on a couple of weeks ago, you finished five
and eleven. Yes, it was just downhill, but when you
have two one and two teams like this that really
(01:28:38):
have left a lot to be desired over these you know,
first couple of weeks, I mean the Raiders were had
the great comeback win against the Ravens, but part of
that is you don't play well for two quarters and
they were kind of beaten down by the Chargers in
Week one and then last week embarrassed by the Carolina
Panthers who were looking for their first win of the season. Yeah,
(01:29:00):
what what is the Is there a make or break
point at any point with with this game? Like does
it is it a bigger win if a team wins,
that it would be for the team that loses. But
when you have two one to two teams who are
searching for something, Yeah, where's the biggest movement coming from
a game like this?
Speaker 3 (01:29:16):
Yeah, I think for I'll just break it down for
each team because because of the Raiders and how they
played last week, I'm sure they were challenged all week
about you know, finishing, competing, doing the whole thing right.
I mean, their head coach Pierce talked about he saw
a lot of guys making business decisions. Yes, so that
chatter came out, so you knew they were going to
come out and play hard. That's part of the process.
(01:29:37):
And for Cleveland, they've just underperformed. I mean, they've got
a quarterback who they they paid a lot of money
and invested a lot of resources into and so for him,
you know, even earlier in this game they had they
were arguing on the sideline him and offensive linemens and
all these certain things. So all that gets e raised
if they can somehow get this last drive and go
down and win the game. So, yes, you want to
(01:29:59):
be too inten over one in three and obviously we
talked about it, right. You can't let games like this
slip away, games that you need to win.
Speaker 2 (01:30:06):
The Chargers aren't gonna end up having a punt it
back to Kansas City, as justin Herbert was just sacked
on third and eleven. The only reason I said that
they're probably gonna have to punt it is because it's
fourth and fifteen.
Speaker 5 (01:30:18):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:30:19):
The problem is they only.
Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
Have one time out left in this game, So if
you punt it back, you've got to stop Kansas City
on the ensuing possession, otherwise.
Speaker 4 (01:30:27):
You are done.
Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
You Actually, there could be an argument made that you
could maybe go for it in this situation because of
just how good Kansas City is in these situations. Again,
when they need ten yards, they're gonna get eleven, and
they're gonna take off every second that they can. They're
gonna be pinned deep. But I don't think that's necessarily
(01:30:49):
that much of a difference. There's three fifteen left, so
you'll have the two minute warning, you'll have the timeout.
Kansas City will need to get a couple of first
downs to run out the clock here, but again, even
if they don't, the Chargers will need a touchdown after
Kansas City now has that seven point lead.
Speaker 3 (01:31:05):
Yeah, it's just knowing hardball and knowing the old school
persona that he kind of carries around with them. He
was gonna punt that ball. I mean, if it was
fourth and five, it'll be a different story. Fourth and
fourth and fifteen. It's just you're probably not gonna make that.
So I mean, we'll see. You gotta trust the defense
in this situation.
Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
You'll probably not. And I agree it's a it's a
long shot to make it. Yeah, but when you think
of the alternatives of how it's gonna play out, sure
you punt it back again. I don't think it matters.
If Kansas City is starting on their four or fourteen
yard line, it they're gonna do what they're gonna do,
and it's just can they get eleven yards in these
three plays?
Speaker 4 (01:31:40):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
And right now the Chiefs ran for four yards with
Kareem Hunt on the carry, So it's gonna be second
and six and the Chargers just use their final timeout.
So there's three or five left, so the Chargers will
be out of timeout, so Kansas City will have this
play and then they'll have to run a third down play.
The key to that is if this play takes a
(01:32:03):
certain amount of time. You maybe could run a pass
play where it would expire at the two minute warning.
They just put three seconds on the clock. That's a
bigger deal than you would expect. Yes, threeh eight. Now
you expect a running play to maybe take eight seconds
to ten seconds. Now you're not going to be able
(01:32:23):
to run the entire clock down. But I still wouldn't
put it out of the realm of possibility that Kansas
City throws the ball on third down.
Speaker 3 (01:32:30):
Oh yeah, Kansas City will do anything to win this game.
And you know a lot of a lot of coaches,
you know, the rule of thumb here is you don't
want to put the ball on the ground and stop
the clock. But you know, Andy Reid trusts Mahomes to
make the right play more time to not So, yeah,
they will definitely pass the ball in the situation if
they have to.
Speaker 2 (01:32:46):
And now Kareem Hunt has stopped for a yard loss.
So it's going to be third and seven from their
seven yard line for the Chiefs, and it's gonna be
there's two fifty recounting thirty seconds on the play clock,
so they'll have to snap it by two twenty two
Browns and Raiders. The Browns have gotten down to the
(01:33:06):
ten yard line, but they're gonna face a fourth and
about four with a minute seven in counting. Cleveland's got
all three of their timeouts, the Raiders have just one,
which is the Raiders up four, fourth and three. Here,
you have to have a play because you can't call
a time out because if you don't get it. This
is gonna be all on Deshaun Watson, who talked this week,
(01:33:27):
by the way, about him not being a running a
running back that he could make plays with his feet,
but he's not a running back. This would be a
scenario where I think you would want to have a
guy make a play with his feet like Deshaun Watson.
Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
You gotta be ironic. If he runs a bootleg here
and scores a touchdown, that'd be amazing.
Speaker 4 (01:33:42):
So but no, right now, like we talked about.
Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
This is a big, big, big, big fourth and three
for both teams here, both at one and two, both
really needing to win to boost the morale for their teams,
and so big play coming up here.
Speaker 2 (01:33:56):
And a big play in Los Angeles is Patrick Mahone.
Homes has hit Xavier Worthy for a first down on
the third and seven and Worthy takes the ball up.
I didn't even know how long the any pass play
was at this point. Is it's still loading on the computer,
but actually it's about sixteen yard gains, so up to
the twenty three yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:34:16):
Again, none of that matters. What matters now is they
have a fresh set of downs and the Chargers can't
stop the clock.
Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
Yep, So there that game is pretty much a rap
in Los Angeles as the Chiefs are going to beat
the Chargers. Thought maybe it was a different story when
it was ten points, yes, and the Chargers had that lead.
The Browns did use a timeout, So now it's it's
gopher broke here on fourth down because if they don't
get it, the Raiders would be able to run out
(01:34:43):
the clock and Deshaun Watson is unable to escape pressure
and he is sacked and the Raiders are going to
go to two and two.
Speaker 4 (01:34:51):
The Browns will fall.
Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
The one in three even with the two timeouts, doesn't
matter that there's only thirty four seconds left to go.
Browns don't even get a pass off in that situation.
Speaker 3 (01:35:00):
That's terrible and are we going to start having the
discussion about that. That AFC, that AFC North and not
being as good as we thought it was going to
be coming to the season.
Speaker 2 (01:35:13):
I think that is fair. I think that is a
fair conversation. To have the Steelers worth three and zero
up until today, the Bengals have not proved their worth.
The Ravens have been all over the map, almost winning
Kansas City, then lose to the Raiders, and then then
finally get a win against the Cowboys last week, and
(01:35:33):
they'll have an opportunity to continue to change that narrative
tonight against the Buffalo Bills. What is intriguing here, though,
in this Brown situation is because you had the three
timeouts carry. I don't blame Kevin Stefanski for using the
time out. It's just the fact that you're now putting
all of your eggs on the fourth and three play.
(01:35:56):
In likelihood, in that scenario, if you have all three
of your timeouts because you're down by four, I'm not
saying kick the field. Well, it's not what I'm saying
at all. Yeah, but if you don't get it there
as the clock is running on your previous play that
got you to fourth and three, that's why you have
a veteran quarterback.
Speaker 4 (01:36:14):
That's for the quarterback to go and make that play.
Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
Maybe nine times out of ten you call the time
out to try to get the right play to set
it up.
Speaker 4 (01:36:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:36:22):
Yeah, but there's also the point of if your veteran
quarterbacks out there and the defense is running around and scrambling,
sometimes that's a better opportunity. And if you don't get
the fourth and three, at least you have the three
timeouts to get a stop and then you get the
football back. I know it's a quick turnaround, but there
were fifty seconds left on the clock at that point.
You still would need a touchdown to win. Once they
use the timeout on the fourth down play, you just
(01:36:44):
put everything on that fourth down play where you have
to get it at that point because if you don't,
now the Raiders run on the clock, which is exactly
what they did.
Speaker 3 (01:36:52):
Yeah, a lot of times in those situations when you
stated it correctly, if you have a veteran quarterback, you
will go to the line of scrimmage with a couple
of plays, and so you're you're in a two minute drive,
so you're going to have two plays called. If you
had success on the play before, which they did, you
probably want to stand that personnel so you can attack
them in that same personnel group. When you call a
(01:37:12):
time out to call the right play, you also give
the Raiders a chance to getting the right person ail
and the right formason to stop that. So, yeah, it's
up for debate. If it works one way, it works
one way, and we're not having the conversation. But definitely
it didn't work that play. So there's some mirror to
what you said.
Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
The Browns offensive line without their tackles Jederick Wills and
Jack Conklin, hasn't played at all this season. It's difficult
we say that they're without their starting two tackles, which
they are, but we just haven't seen a lot of them.
Will's made a season debut last week, and then this
week is out against the Raiders, and as I mentioned, Conklin'
spent out here. You have the Chargers in a scenario
(01:37:48):
where they had a third down. They're playing without Joe
Alt at right tackle, They're playing without Rashaun Slater at
left tackle, and Justin Herbert couldn't get a pass off
on third and eleven, just like Deshaun Watson was unable
to get a pass off on fourth and three. There
the offensive lines. They you bring the you bring the
heat like the defense does, and you get the sacks
and it's game over and Chiefs and Raiders reaping the
(01:38:10):
benefits of that. Yeah, no, you got to You gotta protect.
I mean as much as you know. Obviously, this league's
about putting up points. It starts up front.
Speaker 3 (01:38:19):
If you can't protect those guys, it doesn't matter how
many weapons you have. I think we're seeing that with Chicago,
which we talked about earlier. You want to get all
the things that look good surrounding your top draft pick,
but you gotta protect them first.
Speaker 2 (01:38:32):

Riders given chase ball out ball sad.
Speaker 11 (01:39:27):
It's Charles Snowden with the sack and the.
Speaker 10 (01:39:32):
Biggest player of the day, Charles Snowden off the edge.
Back to back plays and the Raiders defense with thirty
four seconds left, might have just won this game again Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (01:39:47):
Once again, here's Dan Byer and Carrie Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
I get it, hindsight is twenty twenty. But that's part
of this gig here, Carry Rhodes. The fact that the
Browns use their final time out to come up with
the perfect play call at fourth and three, and that
perfect play call couldn't even get a pass off. Your
quarterback couldn't throw the ball to actually try to see
if you could gain yards. In that scenario, tough one
(01:40:12):
to take for the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 4 (01:40:13):
Yeah, tough pill to swallow, for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
You call the time out to get to the play
that you've worked on numerous times, and I gotta have
it situation you work on those, it's situational football, and
that's the play you draw up.
Speaker 4 (01:40:25):
It's it's tough.
Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
Raider Nation Radio nine to twenty am with that highlight
hit carry up at Carrie twenty five Roads. You can
find me at Dan Byer on Fox. I don't mean
to harp on this point, but I just I think
that it's important when you have three timeouts left, like
the Cleveland Browns had. That also means carry in the
(01:40:49):
plays leading up to that point, you could have saved
yourself more time if you use those timeouts. So now
what happens is is Kevin Stefansk he didn't use a
timeout because he wanted to use a timeout, or used
the timeouts if they needed to stop the Raiders if
they got the ball. The problem is by using the
(01:41:11):
timeout on fourth and three, you've now negated the use
of those two other timeouts if you don't get the
first down. Yeah, sure, and so those that's the sort
of thing that you look at it's kind of committing
to the plan if you've decided, hey, there's a reason
we're keeping all three of our timeouts, because honestly, at
that point, when you're inside the twenty yard line and
(01:41:33):
you're at the ten yard line, time shouldn't be an
issue to you anyway unless there's ten seconds left on
the clock. So that's the part of the Brown situation
that just kind of drives me crazy, is you were committed,
you were committed, You were committed, you were committed. Now
let's change and then that's the play that comes out.
And now the work that you did in saving those
(01:41:53):
two timeouts and having the clock run on previous plays
doesn't even matter anymore because you couldn't call the right
play and block it up on fourth and three. That's
the stuff that drives me nuts.
Speaker 3 (01:42:05):
Yeah, you can actually tell by watching the operation of
that play that he was going to call a timeout.
Speaker 4 (01:42:10):
I could see it just.
Speaker 3 (01:42:11):
How the play didn't get relayed to Deshaun Watson in time,
and so he's processing it in his mind Stefanski as
this play is going on, and you can see by
you know, the time dwindling down there, that he wasn't
sure of what he wanted to do, and so you know.
Therefore the time out happens. And then, like you said,
I mean once, once you call the time out, you
(01:42:33):
have to score in that position.
Speaker 2 (01:42:34):
And I get it. It was third and sixteen prior
to the thirteen yard completion that you had to I
believe it was Amari Cooper in that scenario to get
you down closer. But yeat the reason you keep those timeouts,
Like I always look at timeouts like this. In the
first half, you could be pretty lenient with them because
it doesn't necessarily matter as much scoring at the end
(01:42:57):
of the half. It's a nice bonus, but you don't
want to put yourself in a bad play. You could
use the time out in that situation in the second half.
If you don't have to use them for the first
twenty eight minutes of that half, more power to you,
because then you're in the cap bird seat, which the
Browns were.
Speaker 4 (01:43:14):
But then it was just.
Speaker 2 (01:43:15):
Negated by the inability to be lined up on the
fourth downplay and then not converting on fourth and three. No,
I was just gonna say, I don't need to bore
you with more Browns Raiders talk, because the forty nine
ers got to win today against the Patriots. But I'm
more concerned not what happened this week on the field.
(01:43:36):
It's what happened earlier this week on the practice field
when Brandon Ayuk came out in practice shorts that weren't
the same color of his teammates, and Kyle Shanahan had
a conversation with him and ended up making Ayuk change
his practice shorts. This after we Ayuk the hold in
throughout training camp and finally got the contract that he
(01:43:59):
wanted this much. Ado about nothing now that you've got
to win, or is there something more here in San
Francisco with short skate earlier this week?
Speaker 3 (01:44:07):
Oh yeah, it's definitely some some stuff going on in
San fran I don't know if the relationships have been healed,
so to speak. Here We talked about it. I told
you coming into the season, I thought that the forty
nine ers would start slow. They're not slow, they're two
and two, but I knew it did take some time
(01:44:29):
for them to get into a rhythm and do what's
you know, what many of us think they will do
is you know, be the super Bowl you know, super
Bowl team coming from the NFC, but right now there's
a lot of answers and a lot of a lot
of answers that need to be answered on that side,
a lot of questions that need to be answered on
that side. And this doesn't help. When you have rumblings
(01:44:50):
and you have things that are kind of boiling up
to the top of the surface, it doesn't it doesn't
look good. Then you have the Christian McCaffrey thing that's
linger as well. We don't know what's going on with
that situation with the injury, and so this team is
far from, you know, being the team that we thought
they would be at the end of the end of
this season so far.
Speaker 2 (01:45:10):
Do you have more a problem with Ayuk trying to
be different or that Kyle Shanahan wanted to make a
point out of it.
Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
I think it's more about Auk being different. Your head
coach needs to to to make points of certain things
in certain situations, especially for a team that has high hopes.
Speaker 4 (01:45:29):
Sure, you want to make sure that everybody's on the
same page.
Speaker 3 (01:45:31):
And if you have somebody that's wearing different shorts and
you know nobody else is doing it, that's a problem.
Speaker 2 (01:45:37):
It is a problem, you know, Bill Belichick could probably
say the same thing if Lawrence Taylor came out with,
you know, pink shorts and everybody was in their giant
blue Guess what Lawrence Taylor gets to wear pink shorts.
Speaker 3 (01:45:49):
I was about to say, yeah, like that's a different story.
Speaker 2 (01:45:51):
Brandon Ayuk is not to that level. And that's you know,
that's the other point of it. And and it makes
you wonder too, because you wanted Ayuk. The Niners are
all in for this season. Ye so now you've I
don't want to say caved in, but you've because they
didn't cave in, but you've given him the deal that
he wanted, that you felt was good enough for you.
(01:46:13):
And now he's still not happy or it's still not
about the team, it's more about him. I would rub
that would rub me the wrong way.
Speaker 4 (01:46:20):
I agree.
Speaker 3 (01:46:21):
I mean again, yeah, I was about to say, when
you when you start talking about Lawrence Taylor, I was like,
that's a different story. Yeah right, yes, but uh yeah
with Ayuk, I mean he's not even performing well. So like,
you know, get on the bus and let's go. We
got a team that can win the championship. You know
that you've been a part of this program for multiple
years now. It's like, okay, when you see people doing
(01:46:42):
that and wearing different shorts, it's all about them, and
that's just that's that's not good A good recipe.
Speaker 2 (01:46:46):
Bill Parcells would have called up a clothing company to
order fifty two pairs of pink shorts for the other
players to wear, if that's what Lawrence Taylor wanted to
do his carry roads. I'm Dan Byer Monte Belanos. I
don't know if you own a pair of pink shorts
on a pink shirt. Manzi liked it, and I said,
what about an orange? She goes, no, don't get an orange.
(01:47:07):
I had already purchased it, so it was already in.
Speaker 4 (01:47:12):
And I was.
Speaker 8 (01:47:14):
Orange is hard?
Speaker 4 (01:47:16):
Orange is hard?
Speaker 8 (01:47:17):
Are you in a jumpsuit?
Speaker 7 (01:47:18):
And then the worst part is that we jumps it's orange, so.
Speaker 8 (01:47:22):
You know, like but the worst part is that.
Speaker 7 (01:47:24):
Then I worked with Dan not long after that that conversation,
and we both wore orange shirts. Yes, after I told them,
don't do it.
Speaker 4 (01:47:35):
It was like mercury in the sun that day.
Speaker 8 (01:47:37):
Oh my god, it was so good, so good. You know,
it's not good. My chargers, man, they're so annoying. They
charged they charged. They had a chance. Guys, the Chiefs
are not good. They had a chance.
Speaker 4 (01:47:50):
Manzi, you can't say they're not good. The Chiefs are good, great,
but they are good.
Speaker 8 (01:47:55):
They're they're beatable. I lever change that. They are beatable
for sure. And why can't any team do it? That's
so frustrating. It's so frustrating, I know.
Speaker 7 (01:48:07):
So they stay undefeated with a seventeen to ten win
over the Chargers. Chiefs did lose their wide receiver Rashi Rice,
who was carded to the locker room.
Speaker 8 (01:48:15):
He has a knee injury and it doesn't look good,
is the latest that we have heard.
Speaker 7 (01:48:19):
The Raiders held on to defeat the Browns twenty to sixteen.
Positive news for Cleveland because their start running back Nick
Chubb is expected to return to practice this coming week.
So we'll see if we see Nick Chubb sooner rather
than later. Forty nine Ers beat the Patriots thirty to thirteen.
Fred Warner had to pick six in the win. The
Commanders crushed the Cardinals forty two to fourteen. Jayden Daniels
(01:48:41):
twenty six of thirty two hundred and thirty three yards,
one touchdown, one interception in a rushing touchdown. He has
completed at least eighty five percent of his passes in
two consecutive games, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history
to do so. Wo rookie quarterback Jaden Daniels Texans with
a twenty four to twenty win over the Jaguars. The
Jags have yet to.
Speaker 8 (01:49:00):
Win a game this season. They are zero to four.
Speaker 7 (01:49:02):
The Bengals won their first game today, beating the Panthers
thirty four to twenty four. The Buccaneers came out hot
and beat the Eagles thirty three to sixteen. Baker Mayfield
three hundred and forty seven yards in the air, two
touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. The Broncos edged the Jets
ten to nine. In case you missed it, there is
a great picture of Aaron Rodgers sitting on the bench
with a towel over his head as the game inspired.
Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
It should be atrocious loss. Tros's gotta bear some of
the responsibility.
Speaker 4 (01:49:30):
I don't know if that's a great picture, Monty.
Speaker 8 (01:49:32):
No, for not for you, not for you Jets fan,
not for Ian here, but for most other football fans
it might be a fun one.
Speaker 4 (01:49:39):
And also the other side of it honestly, the Broncos
just they've played four games this year. They were in Seattle, Tampa,
in New York. You're all over the map, all over.
You're two and two. Yeah, you know they managed for
sixty yards today. Yes, one touch with the Broncos.
Speaker 8 (01:49:55):
Seriously, they've managed to win somehow.
Speaker 7 (01:49:57):
The Colts they held on to beat the Steelers twenty
to twenty four, handing Pittsburgh their first loss of the season,
while Bears defeated the Rams twenty four to eighteen. The
Falcons they walked it off with a fifty eight yard
field goal and defeat the Saints twenty four twenty six
to twenty four. Excuse me, and the Vikings state undefeated
after topping the Packers thirty one to twenty nine. Minnesota
(01:50:17):
only scored three points in the second half, but it
did not matter. Packer's safety Xavier McKinney with this fourth
interception of the season, which leads the league in baseball.
The Braves they lost, the Mets and Diamondbacks won, So
that doubleheader between the Mets and the Braves is gonna
happen tomorrow. If they split the doubleheader, they both clinch
a playoff spot. If either team is swept. The Diamondbacks
clincher playoff spot. The AL wild card matchups are as follows.
(01:50:41):
The Tigers are the sixth seed. They will be taking
on the Astros. The Royals they get the fifth seed.
They're going to be taking on the Orioles. Detroit's Tariq
Scoble has won the AL Pitching Triple Crown. He won
eighteen games, had an ERA of two point three nine
and two hundred and twenty eight strikeouts. The Braves could
have Chris Saale win it in the National League, but
(01:51:01):
we don't know if he's gonna pitch tomorrow, so that's
why it's up in the air.
Speaker 8 (01:51:04):
His era can go, you know, up or down however
we want to look at it. But right now, Chris
Sale could win it in the National League like John.
Speaker 2 (01:51:10):
Morossi a Trek Scuba winning the al Cy Young Award preseason.
Speaker 7 (01:51:14):
Yeah, yeah, I think he did, yes, and he's probably
gonna win it. Padres first baseman said it as the
first player in history to win three consecutive batting titles
with three different teams. And last thing here, I'll tell
you the WNBA semi finals are going on the Las
Vegas Aces lost to the New York Liberty. This is
like a rematch of the championship last year. So the
New York Liberty take game one and there's a video
(01:51:35):
of Spike Lee join with Kelsey Plum.
Speaker 8 (01:51:38):
It's so good. She's like talking smacked him.
Speaker 7 (01:51:41):
He gets up out of his seat and it was like,
Spike Lee, why are you arguing with Kelsey Plum?
Speaker 1 (01:51:45):
Stop it?
Speaker 4 (01:51:45):
What was the final score?
Speaker 5 (01:51:46):
Do you have?
Speaker 8 (01:51:47):
By ten?
Speaker 1 (01:51:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:51:48):
They won by ten, eighty seven to seventy seven. Brianna
Stewart thirty four points.
Speaker 2 (01:51:52):
So this Liberty top the Aces eighty seven to seventy seven.
Kitlyn Clark had zero points. Yeah, right right, Sam, That's
how that is it?
Speaker 8 (01:52:02):
Thatllas, that's all I got.
Speaker 4 (01:52:04):
That's all you got. Thank you very much, Mossi said
a lot.
Speaker 8 (01:52:07):
Of stuff, really did.
Speaker 3 (01:52:09):
No, no, no, not even But I'm looking at right
now the Jackabille Jaguars are zero to four.
Speaker 4 (01:52:15):
I looked at their schedule. They're gonna be They're gonna
be two and fifteen this season.
Speaker 3 (01:52:20):
And with that being said, do they go after the
number one quarterback coming out of the draft.
Speaker 4 (01:52:25):
I'm gonna start that discussion right now.
Speaker 2 (01:52:28):
After you just paid Trevor Lawrence this offseason. I don't
know all you can.
Speaker 9 (01:52:31):
I know.
Speaker 4 (01:52:33):
There's no way. I don't think he can. I think
they gotta. They're gonna have to find someone else.
Speaker 2 (01:52:40):
By the way, we don't know who's gonna be the
number one quarterback right now all over the map. Yeah,
because Carson Beck didn't necessarily look at the first half
last night, should or Sanders could be a possibility when
yours is thought. And I know I'm leaving other guys out,
but yeah, who knows if there's a consensus number one guy. Quickly.
(01:53:01):
I got some numbers for you. You know how many
teams are two and two right now in the NFL.
Out of the thirty two teams two and two, I
would say fourteen, Okay. I was hoping you would say
like six, and I'd be like, no, carry, there are twelve.
There are twelve two and two teams in the National
(01:53:21):
Football League right now. If the Ravens win tonight, they
become number thirteen. If the Titans fall tomorrow to the Dolphins,
the Dolphins would improve to two and two. That would
be fourteen. Almost half the league would be two and two,
and for the league that strives on parody. My goodness,
(01:53:45):
you've got the Chiefs at four and oh, you've got
the Steelers.
Speaker 4 (01:53:49):
Excuse me, the Vikings.
Speaker 2 (01:53:51):
At four and oh. Steelers lost today, so they're no
longer a part of it. Bills are three and oh
try to go four and oh tonight against the Ravens,
and the Seahawks are three and they try to go
four and oh tomorrow night against the Lions. It's gonna
be very tough. They're missing a lot of pieces on defense.
But that's where we stand. So now only four unbeatens
left in the NFL, and by the end of the
(01:54:11):
week it could maybe be down to two.
Speaker 4 (01:54:13):
Yeah, I think it will be here.
Speaker 2 (01:54:16):
He's already given us picks, yes, so there's no reason

It is a Fox Sports Red Zone Sunday. Three games
left to go in Week four, Rain and Baltimore. You
were checking out, Yes, could be soggy tonight, especially as
the game goes on between the Bills and Ravens. Tomorrow
night at the doubleheader Titans and Dolphins in game one
and then Seahawks and Lions in the second game. Forty
(01:55:25):
five minutes afterwards, there is an update on Rashid Rice's status.
Andy Reid told reporters that Rice is going to have
an MRI tomorrow and that he feels terrible for Rashi,
They'll hope for the best, but.
Speaker 4 (01:55:38):
He's not expecting the news that they would like. So.
Speaker 2 (01:55:43):
Yeah, Now the Chiefs may be in the market like
we've felt like they were in the past couple of years.
Who are they going to bring in as a weapon
for Patrick Mahomes. The good thing is is you do
have Hollywood Brown at at some point that may be
able to come back, so you could add him to
(01:56:03):
the fold. But he's not what Rashie Rice is at
this point in his career. Hollywood Brons decent, but he's
not what Rachie Rice and Patrick Mahomes had. Now you
wonder as well, will they look around the league to
add someone and maybe do it at a discount rate?
Speaker 5 (01:56:17):
You know?
Speaker 3 (01:56:17):
Yeah, maybe, uh, maybe we can talk about DeAndre Hopkins
in the situations. I know DeVante Adams is the one
that everybody has their eye on, but yeah, he may
have a little left as well.
Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
The Raiders would ask for nineteen first round picks to
send him to the Chiefs, and how they say he
has carry roads. I'm Dan Bier. Let's take a listen

that defense getting after it. A huge win for the
Chiefs to go four to zero, and the Chargers tell
you what, the two and two record is not as
