Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let me the dream once again here on a fabulous
NFL Sunday. This is Red Zone Radio and we are
broadcasting live from the ti iraq dot com studios.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Tier rack dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
We're gonna help get you there and on match selection,
fast red shipping, free road ASID protection, over ten thousand
recommended installers ti i rack dot com the way tire
buying should be. We have six games about to kick
off right now. Panthers at the Bears, Ravens at the Bengals,
Dolphins at the Patriots, Browns at the Commander's Colt said
the Jaguars, and Bill's at the Texans, and Richie. We

(00:38):
have one game in the books already today in London,
the Minnesota Vikings remain undefeated. They beat the Jets twenty
three to seventeen. It was a rough day for both
quarterbacks today. Aaron Rodgers twenty nine to fifty four, two
hundred and forty four yards, two touchdowns, three interceptions.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
He was sacked three times. Sam Darnold actually had a worse.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Day in terms of passer rating fourteen to thirty one,
one hundred and seventy nine yards, no touchdowns, one pick,
he was sacked four times, and we saw an opportunity
at the end of that game for Aaron Rodgers. This
is what you want, right he's your Hall of Fame quarterback.
He give him an opportunity drive down the field, he
got the timeouts, he got time to win this game,

(01:22):
and in the end he throws an interception. Game over,
Vikings are still undefeated.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
They just find a way, whether it's defense or special
teams or offensively. What Kevin o'c has done now with
the quarterbacks that he's had since taking over as head
coach of the Minnesota Vikings, both with Kirk Cousins and
Sam Darnold now as the starting quarterbacks, he's worked with koc.
He knows how to coach, there's no question about that.

(01:49):
Moving on from Mike Zimmer was a big risk for Minnesota,
who never really plummeted during his tenure, but they always
sort of were an afterthought in the NFC North. It
was the Green Bay Packers, and so think about how
important that is to Minnesota fans. Think about how important
that is to the Vikings themselves as an organization.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
That's Aaron. That's Aaron Rodgers over there.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
That's the guy who literally haunted you in this division
for years and years and years. And I know he's
playing for a different team in Green, but it's important
to get that win wherever you are, in London or otherwise.
So that's an enormous win for the Minnesota Vikings and
they keep their record clean at five and zero and the.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Jets fall to two and three.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yesterday, Adam Kaplan, our NFL insider, who before the season
had the Jets as the number two team in the AFC,
behind the Chiefs. I asked him yesterday, you still think
the Jets are the second best team in the AFC.
He did not flinch. He said they will win this
AFC East. Well, it's going to be a tough, tall order.
As Aaron Rodgers does not show any resemblance to Aaron

(02:54):
Rodgers in his prime. He's not an MVP candidate anymore.
He missed a couple throws at the end on himitch
and go that was wide open. That ball was not
only overthrown, it was thrown out of bounds.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
And then in the end.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
He throws the interception. So look, you're getting Aaron Rodgers
obviously at age forty one, not near at the top
of his game. Their defense is outstanding. Sam Darnold had
been red hot. Got shut down today. The Minnesota offense
pretty much got shut down today.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
But it wasn't enough.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Because Aaron Rodgers in the end couldn't make the plays
that he was able to make in the past.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah, look, you can't miss on that throw. I agree
with what you said. I don't think the jury is
out on Aaron Rodgers in twenty twenty four. You got
to remember he missed off last year. There's a lot
of cohesiveness that needs to be developed here. It's still early.
I understand it's five weeks in. They've only won two games,

(03:46):
but you got to remember last year what it was missing,
what it felt like was missing with the New York Jets,
and it was very obvious was the quarterback. Everything else
felt okay, But this team could look different by the
end of the season. I mean, shoot, DeVante Adams, there
could be other trade candidates available at this some point
this season. We could see where he ends up landing.

(04:09):
Obviously familiar face to Aaron Rodgers, so that could be
something that helps things out. There's a lot that could
happen between now and the end of the season. I
don't say the jury's out on Aaron Rodgers. I don't
say the jury's out on the New York Jets.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Not yet.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
No jury out on Jayden Daniels, the Commander's rookie quarterback
is completing eighty two percent of his passes in the
first four games. I heard Brian not through out an
amazing stat Not only is that insane that a guy
in his first four NFL games would complete eighty two
percent of his passes, how about this. No quarterback in

(04:43):
the history of the NFL and four consecutive games at
any point of their careers has ever completed eighty two
percent over four consecutive games. This guy has done it
in his first four NFL games.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
See if I said it on this show many times
we have worked a long time together. Quarterback they're very
difficult to judge out of college, and so I cautioned
everybody this is in one hundred percent. But I said,
amongst the drafted first round quarterbacks, the six that were
taking in the first round ahead of the twenty twenty
four season, Jaden Daniels look the most NFL ready to me,

(05:17):
and it's because of how he operated under pressure during
his time at ALSU his final season there, and also
his deep ball accuracy. It's so so detrimental when you
have a quarterback that cannot stretch the field, even if
he is a dual threat guy like Jayden Daniels and
an excellent athlete, a Heisman winning athlete at the collegiate level,
if you cannot connect downfield, it makes you two one

(05:39):
dimensional to win at the next level. Well, I saw
that on film. I watched every single highlight of his
I watched many of his games at LSU. He seemed
ready to make this jump and it's paying off for
the Washington commanders. In Cliff Kingsbury, Let's give credit where
credits due. He comes over as the offensive coordinator and
he's pressed all the right buttons with Daniels.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
But Jeff Schwartz also santed a warning on the show
this morning by saying, look at Cliff Kingsbury. His quarterbacks
tend to excel early in the season and then start
fading as the season goes. So look right now, Jayden
Daniels has been outstanding and again eighty two percent over
four consecutive games, not just unprecedent for a rookie quarterback,

(06:20):
unprecedented for any quarterback in the history of the NFL.
But we'll see, with Cliff Kingsbury as his mentor offensive coordinator,
if he can sustain anywhere near that level for the
course of an entire season.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Also, interestingly, they're playing against the Browns and Deshaun Watson
obviously the starting quarterback with the Cleveland Browns. There's a
lot of similarities to the way these two quarterbacks started
their career. Deshaun Watson bursts onto the scene as a
Houston Texan quarterback and it was very clear he could
play at this level out of Clemson. There was a

(06:52):
lot of excitement and you knew it was gonna work.
And it really did work for the Houston Texans. He
took a franchise to the next level, he made him
a perennial playoff contender, and then obviously all hell broke
loose with his personal life and then the trade to Cleveland,
and he hasn't resembled the same player since. Jaden Daniels,
at least at first, is looking like a younger, faster,

(07:15):
maybe better passer than Deshaun Watson was, at least to
start his career with the Washington Commanders.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
All right, we have a second and goal at the
Jacksonville one yard line for the Indianapolis Colts. Anthony Richardson out,
Joe Flacco in. That's good news for the Colts. Opening
drive five for five sixty five yards. Joe Flacco going
right down the field against a desperate Jaguars team in Jacksonville,
looking for the first win of the season.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
But when you talk about a veteran quarterback.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Who has to be really at ease, he doesn't have
the same pressure he had back in his Ravens days
when ultimately he lost his John to Lamar Jackson. We
saw what he did in Cleveland a year ago. He
gets picked up by the Colts. Great acquisition by the
Colts to try to salvage their season. But this opening drive,
when you have a pro when you have a guy
that understands how to run an offense, when you have
a guy that understands how to get the ball down

(08:06):
the field, what a difference. It's similar to the Andy
Dalton situation in Carolina. Veteran quarterback knows how to run
an offense, knows how to read defenses. In the NFL,
we're seeing it right now. With Joe Flackle third and
goal for the Colts at the Jacksonville one yard line
on their opening drive.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Jacksonville are in danger of having a lot of players
making business decisions here pretty soon. An zero and four
start pretty hopeless, especially if you lose a divisional game here.
Another divisional game here against the Colts. But what a
disaster for the Jacksonville Jaguars that loss last week to
the Texans. This will cement it. You're going to start

(08:42):
seeing almost like a mutiny and abandoning of the ship.
Doug Peterson will probably lose his job some point this season.
I think that's almost a FATA complete at this point.
That's unfortunate because I know it's not for lack of trying.
I know Doug Peterson's a smart coach. He just hasn't
pressed the right buttons Trevor Lawrence or this offense particularly,

(09:02):
But overall, this team has not been competitive this season,
and really weren't all that competitive since two years ago
when they had that playoff berth. So a disappointment in Jacksonville,
no doubt about it. And you're gonna start seeing it.
It will start happening. You'll see names on the injury report.
Guys who are going to want to sustain themselves and
not get injured for a hopeless, hapless season in the

(09:27):
AFC South.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
All right, first score of the day of field goal
by the Dolphins on their opening drive on the road
against the Patriots. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens. This is a
huge division game between the Ravens and the Bengals. Ravens
come in at two and two, probably the best two
and two team in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
The Bengals are one in three, They've lost both home games.
This is an absolute must game for the Bengals and
the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Lamark Jackson stretching out to the goal line, and the
question was did he get the ball to the line
before the knee he went down from that angle?

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Yeah, that angle to angle, that angle is not gonna
tell us, but what an effort by Jackson. However, I
will say this, you're in the danger zone man, when
you're stretching the ball out, especially with your non dominant
hand reaching for the end zone, because we know if
you fumble that it's gonna be on the twenty yard line.
Going the other way, it'll be a touchback. For the defense.

(10:23):
So it looks like they're gonna mark him a half
yard short. Baltimore Ravens facing a third and goal from
the Cincinnati Bengals half yard line. All right, so keeping
an eye on that one. But a huge game in
division for both of these teams. And the Ravens hand
the ball to the big guy you know who, and
it looks like Derrick Henry is in. Yeah, Derrick Henry

(10:43):
powers his way forward on just what looked like they
were trying to set up some sort of toss sweep,
but he got tripped up in the backfield and had
to turn it up early.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
No matter.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
He faced about five Cincinnati Bengals at the goal line
and was still able just slipped to power his way
into the ends of Look at this, it was a
team meeting at the goal line.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
There were that's close soup. Was he over the goal line?

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Maybe seven orange helmets on Dereck Henry.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
They're going to take another Looking at by the way,
I wasn't so sure. The question is where is the ball?
I think you got?

Speaker 2 (11:19):
But I mean he's unreal pushing five guys back, by
the way. Our thanks to Rappid Radios, the official communication

Lamar stands up under center, shouts out instructions, takes the snap,
quick toss Henry right side. Listen to his foot, He
bounts his back up, turns his way forward and heat
in for the touchdown.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
That's ninety eight Rock Ravens Radio Network. Ravens take the
only seven to nothing first quarter lead against the Bengals.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Once again, this is Red Zone Radio Steve.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Harvin and Rich Ornberger with you were live from the
TAIRAQ dot com studios. Also, the Carolina Panthers, remember the
whole situation with Bryce Young, and it's an unfortunate situation
because they just don't have any players they need players. Well,
Andy Dalton has become the quarterback and he seems to
be having no problem with the supporting cast. Panthers take

(12:57):
the early seven to nothing lead, Chuba Hubbard a touchdown run,
but seven to nothing Panthers early on the road against
the Bears.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
I blame nobody for making excuses for quarterbacks because it's
easy to there's so much pressure that is placed on quarterbacks.
But also there are so many excuses made for quarterbacks
because so much is riding on that position. For a
general manager or president of football operations, you have to
get it right when you're drafting a first round quarterback,

(13:25):
and if you don't, your job's on the line. Same
with a head coach. Your wagon is hitched to the
quarterback that your team drafts, whether or not you've had
a lot to do with it or not, it's your
responsibility now to make it go Frank Reich. Couldn't the interim,
couldn't they bring in Dave Kanalis. And we have a
huge play in this Washington command Jayden Dan Brown's game.

(13:48):
We've got an enormous pass play all the way down
to the Browns goal line.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
I'm watching this play.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
First of all, Jayden Daniels escapes will look like a
sack situation. And then this throws up an absolute perfect
on the dime pass down the field.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
So Cleveland's bringing a six man blitz. The Washington commander
look at this, not have enough for the blitz pickup,
so the running back was overwhelmed in the backfield. Jaden Daniels,
he reels out to his right, he keeps his eyes downfield,
he targets McLaurin, and he throws an absolute dot down
to the four yard line, the three yard line of

(14:28):
the Cleveland Browns. And I believe the Browns just called
the timeout or was that The commander is going to
take a closer look at this one.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
That is unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
So first in goal, Washington burns that time out to
get the correct play call in.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
But look at this again.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
McLaurin working by the way from the left side of
the offense formation number seventeen, and he slows down, he
throttles down because he's running a skinny post. And then
he saw Jayden Daniels in trouble, so he flattens out
towards the right sideline, watching in sideline, and then he
course corrects and starts going upfield because Daniels said, Hey,

(15:05):
I'm just gonna throw it behind the defense with enough loft,
you go and get it, and McLaurin does.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Meanwhile, while that happened, Kayleb Williams just threw a thirty
four yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore. Great pass, great catch,
and the Bears have even up this game against the
Carolina Panthers. So your top two picks in the draft,
Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels looking good on those drives.
But again, Jade and Daniel's ability to hit the mark

(15:30):
on his passes is remarkable if you're just tuning in
eighty two percent completion percentage in his first four NFL games.
No quarterback ever in any four consecutive games has ever
completed eighty two percent of his passes.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
No one, And he just continues to make good decisions
like Okay. So they just run a planned QB run. Okay,
it's set up to look like an inside give and
then he pulls the ball to naked boot right, and
so he's running out towards the sideline. He doesn't do
something silly like he doesn't spin back inside and run
into the teeth of the defense. Yeah, he lost two
yards on the play, but it's first in goal and

(16:06):
so he just leisurely casually runs it out of bounds
and he knows he's like, I got three more shots
potentially at the end zone. Look, he doesn't freak out.
He plays with such poise as a rookie. They've scored
the Commanders have on all seventeen of their trips into
the red zone. And that's because this rookie quarterback can play.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
By the way, Bills have taken early three to nothing
laid on the road against the Texans. Very interesting matchup here.
Both teams come in at three and one. What's interesting though,
is for both these teams their one loss was a
blowout loss. Yeah yeah, so you know, the question is
how good are the Bills? How good are the Texans.
They've been eking out some wins, beating lesser opponents, but

(16:46):
when they lose, they lose big. Interesting so far, Josh
Allen one for five, it was a twenty four yard completion.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
CJ. Stroud one for one for negative two yards.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
So right now, if you were to pick eight quarterback
between these two to lead to right now, week five
in the NFL, who would you choose between Josh Allen
and c J.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Stroud.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Oh, Josh Allen And it's not even close. Josh Allen
because he has the experience. We've seen him do it
in the postseason. Now it's been a tricky out for
the Bills over the years against the Chiefs in the postseason,
so they've got to find a way to beat the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
But it's so early with CJ.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Stroud and we're already seeing I mean, I'm not saying
it's bad. It hasn't been bad, but it looks different
this year than it did last year.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
So time will tell if CJ.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Stroud ends up being a decent player over the course
of his career, like we know Josh Allen is. So yeah,
if I were forced right now, whatever it is, week five,
week five to the NFL season, pick one of these
quarterbacks to leave me the rest away. I know Josh
Allen's capable, and I know he's durable enough to make
it through a season and win you games in the postseason.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
All Right.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
The New England Patriots have taken a seventh three lead
over the Dolphins on a Stevenson run. For Miami right now,
rich without to Tyler Huntley is just not getting it done.
I mean, their offense has completely slowed to a crawl
right now. Both these teams come in at one and three.
The question is can Miami get their offense back on

(18:16):
track without Tua?

Speaker 3 (18:18):
You have to do what the Colts did if you're
going to have a quarterback like Tua Tongue Vailois. So
the Colts they said to themselves, look, we have a
bright young quarterback in Anthony Richardson who we believe in. However,
we know what happened last year. He got hurt and
if it weren't for the capabilities of Gardner Minshew, our
season would have been a disaster. So we got to

(18:39):
make sure his backup is talented.

Speaker 6 (18:40):
Hey guys, so yeah, what do you got You remember
how Jade Daniels had that big pass down to the
four yard lines. Jayde Daniels through an interception.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Wow, I told you he is overrated. I mean, I
mean again, as soon as I start singing the praise
as something, you see how I can do this.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
I can undo anyone or I can flip it.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Yesterday we had another situation just like this.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Oh I know. Well, here's what happened.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
We're watching the Alabama Vanderbilt game, right yeah, and so
Alabama's down five and I said, this is where Jalen
Milroe excels.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
And literally as excels comes out in my mouth.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
He gets it, fumbles the ball, Vanderbilt takes over, ends
up scoring what turned out to be the winning touchdown. Unbelievable.
And at that point, Monty is begging me, please please
say that I will never ever ever win the lottery.
Just say I will never ever, ever ever ever win
the lottery because and then she says, Mike, well, Moncy.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
You better buy all the scratchers in the lotto you
possibly can, California Mega millions, all of it, because you're
about to be a big winner. Speaking of a big winner,
I was a big winner because Monty blanos again. She
comes in with those breakfast burritos.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Or what happened to him? They're gone already. I don't.
It is unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
I saw the two of them sitting there. I never
actually saw you eat one.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
How did you do that?

Speaker 3 (20:01):
I can unhinge my jaw like a ball python. I
took it down like it was a small rodent. And
that was it, and the rest is history. Now, but
I am fueled up. Let me tell you something. I'm
going to cruise through the next three and a half hours.
So thank you again, Monsey.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
All Right, well we're gonna get a little preview coming
up here. Laura Oakman's gonna be joining us talking about
that Raiders at the Broncos game. So let's let's find
out what is trending early right now with Moncey. A
little different this week with only six games going on
right now.

Speaker 7 (20:29):
Yeah, but I'm on edge. I am tense over here.
I'm on edge. A blame Rich for part of that.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Oh No, I did nothing wrong. I was just investigating.

Speaker 8 (20:38):
That's what we're gonna do. We're gonna we're gonna open
up the ceiling or I think there's a creepy crawler.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Well what happened? If if I could have caught it
for you, you get a problem. Solved.

Speaker 8 (20:48):
What if it was like a rat and it comes down?

Speaker 1 (20:50):
So wait a second, is it a rat or is
it at We don't know.

Speaker 8 (20:54):
It just sounds like something is crawling.

Speaker 7 (20:56):
But I will say the crawling seems to have moved
away from my area, so good luck to all of you.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
So we have drop ceilings here at the Fox Sports
Radio studios, and in Monty's booth, in her anchor booth,
there was something crawling around.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
You could hear.

Speaker 8 (21:11):
I don't think crawling's the right word. Scurrying, scurry. It
was good.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Are you sure it wasn't Isaac?

Speaker 3 (21:16):
And well, do you actually I put the log I'm
fairly so they really chance.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
They had to do this twice in this building.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
They actually had to knock Isaac out of vents and like, yeah,
he'll stay if you I mean, and then once he's in,
I mean, it's hard to get.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Rid of him.

Speaker 8 (21:33):
Yeah, well it might be him. Let's say it's a
one percent chance that it's him.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
You might have a loan cron.

Speaker 8 (21:39):
I might have a low and cron.

Speaker 7 (21:40):
But aside from that, yes, at least only six games
that I have to keep track of, the first one,
the first one of the day, did start in London
where the Vikings. It wasn't pretty. They defeated the Jets
twenty three to seventeen. They are still undefeated five and
no Minnesota. Aaron Rodgers three interceptions.

Speaker 8 (21:56):
Including a pick six.

Speaker 7 (21:57):
He did complete twenty nine to fifty four passes for
two hundred and eighteen yards and two touchdowns. Sam Darnold
fourteen of thirty one, one hundred and seventy seventy nine
yards and one interception. After the game, Robert Sala's message
to Jets fans was, it's early. We're five games in.
We'd like to be better. We have a long way
to go. Robert Sala, All right, now, what's.

Speaker 8 (22:16):
Going on right now? With the six games?

Speaker 7 (22:17):
It's a tie game in Chicago between the Panthers and
the Bears. Panthers scored first Chewba Hubbard with a thirty
eight yard rushing touchdown. Then Caleb Williams connected with DJ
Moore to tie the game for the Bears.

Speaker 8 (22:26):
So it's seven to seven.

Speaker 7 (22:27):
Late in the first quarter, the Ravens on the scoreboard first,
Dereck Henry of course, with a rushing touchdown. They are
up on the Bengals in Cincinnati seven to zero late
in the first the Patriots on the scoreboard with a
touch with a touchdown Romandre Stevenson a rushing touchdown. The
Dolphins do have a field goal, so Patriots up seven
to three late in the first while the Browns and
the Commanders are scoreless. Six minutes to go in the

(22:49):
first quarter, and it looks like a rushing touchdown right
now for the Texans extra point good. So now they're
on top of the bill seven to three, three minutes
to go in the first and the Colts Yah, Joe
Flack doesn't miss a beat, connecting with Michael Pittman Junior
for a touchdown. They're beating the Jags, who are zero
and four seven zero. They're about to start the second quarter.
And we do have baseball playoffs to start, but I

(23:10):
didn't start for like three hours, so we'll talk about
that then.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Yeah, there's some pretty big baseball games coming on yesterday.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
How about how about show hey yesterday. I'm belind.

Speaker 8 (23:18):
I mean, he loves it, he loves the moment, he loves.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Okay, so show Hey. I want and this is gonna
sound odd, but just bear with me. I want somebody
to open up his control panel. He's a robot. There's
no question. I mean, like he I've never actually seen
him sweat. Okay, so that's one thing we've met. Robots
don't sweat. To my knowledge, they don't perspire, So that's

(23:42):
one thing.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Also, the hair is always perfect, and it's weird, right,
it's robot hair. It flops around and then it goes
right back to soho Tani is a robot. You cannot
convince me otherwise. He's got robotic parts. Hi.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
There it is. Are we ready with our guest right now?

Speaker 5 (23:59):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
No, okay, it's Laura Oakman. Hopefully we'll join us a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Talking about that Raiders Broncos game coming up here shortly
in an afternoon's like, yeah, I mean I'm watching that.
I was thinking to myself, Dylan sees the pitcher for
the Padres, Why are you throwing this guy anything? I mean,
there were two runners on. You're up three to nothing
in this game. Even if you put him on, I'm
just not throwing him a pitch.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
At that point, Greatness wants to test themselves. I understand
Greatness outstanding, and he's looking at his look at his season.
He's an unbelievable pitcher. But it's it's like that, what
is it. It's the unstoppable force against the immovable object.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Sho Hee. Otani is phenomenal.

Speaker 6 (24:42):
I'm walking Otani for the rest of the series.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
I would too, be honest with you, I know what
this reminds me of back in the day when when
Barry Bonds was, you know, out of his mind.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
And you just you just didn't throw him a pitch.
You just didn't. They they would just intentionally walk him.
He had one hundred and twenty intentional walks one year.
You just don't. I'm not kidding.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
It was the record was like forty five and he
had one hundred and twenty intentional walks, and I'm like,
just don't throw him. They had the stat up with
his batting averages, oh tony twelve of his last fourteen
with an NOPs of twenty nine hundred men in scoring position.
I'm like, I'm looking at that stat saying, okay, bases

(25:22):
are not loaded.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
There's two on. I'm walking him. He's a rod live.
I'll take my chances with Mookie Betts.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
Exactly as crazy as it sounds, I think if you're
the Padres, you'd much rather give Mookie Bets or Freddie
Freeman a chance.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Yeah, because by the way they were cold heading in
through the post.

Speaker 6 (25:36):
Say yeah, I think Freddy got more hits yesterday than
he did all of last posts.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
So I was about to say that Freddy was smiling
for the first time in maybe a month because he
laced that line drive out to the outfield and got
a single. I was like, that's first time I've seen
him do that in a long time.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
All right. CJ.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Stroud opening drive for Houston, no problem. Four for four
on the drive, touchdown Texans on their opening I have
on a cam acres run. So the Texans now have
taken a seven to three lead over the Bills. He
apparently as he walked off the field, CJ. Stroud said, really,
you're gonna take Josh Allen over me? Is that what

(26:13):
they're gonna do? Rich Ornberger? Hang on four for four
for forty two yards. He's won for five to twenty
four yards. Cam Akers did all the leg work there.
You should have seen. It was a really nice play.
They were in a shotgun set. Cam Akers single back
in the backfield and they ran a little y wrap
where instead of pulling a guard you have the tight
end coming around, getting the key block up the middle
of the offensive formation, little jab step and then basically

(26:35):
Acres was untouched to the end zone. So Houston leading early,
hosting the Bills a seven to three ball game there
with two forty nine left in the first and the
Washing Commanders are on the board on a Brian Robinson
touchdown run.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
And this taken a couple of tackles. Beautiful run too.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Yeah, he had one of the Browns players wrapped up
around his running gear and he was able to yike
his like ones yike is like twice.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
He was able to pull away from.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
The tackler, the would be tackler, and he was able
to scamper in for the scores. So the Washington Commanders
lead seven nothing, shut out ballgame in Washington.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Hold on, now, are the Washington Commanders going to win
the NFC East this year?

Speaker 3 (27:17):
They're the best team in the NFC East right now,
they are the best team in the in the NFC East.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Yes, I mean, let's be very honest in the moment.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
In the moment, in the moment, I'm just saying, and
they may not have the strongest roster they okay, okay,
very good okay, I.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Oh, we have ed ingram on.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Oh great, Okay, after that, big wins for the Vikings
today to stay undefeated.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Okay, let's welcome in offensive lineman guard for the Minnesota
Vikings who remain perfect on the season five and oh
celebrating in London. Hey, Ed, what's it like in the
locker room right now?

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Buddy?

Speaker 9 (28:00):
Yo, man, it was definitely it was a show after
the game, just playing fifty mini man songs. It was unroomed.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
That's that's awesome to get the celebration. Is this your
first time in England?

Speaker 9 (28:12):
By the way, this is my second time. I actually
came down here in my rookie year.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
It was pretty cool, very good and so so.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Sam Darnold has been phenomenal so far this season in
terms of this game, obviously, there was some pressure. You're
going against an elite defense with New York.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
What were they doing?

Speaker 3 (28:31):
That got to to Sam today that in weeks past,
you guys have been able to.

Speaker 9 (28:35):
Prevent I'll just say, you know, like they have a
great defense, great difference coordinator. They was bringing like a
lot of pressure. They was also disguised on some of
their looks. I feel like we just went against a
great team. And every week we deal with great teams
in NFL.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
And you know when we talk about this Vikings team,
obviously before the season, uh, you know, Kirk Cousins obviously
decided to go to Atlanta. She's a first round pick
on JJ McCarthy out of Michigan.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
And then there's Sam Darnald.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Right, give us a little sense of how Sam Darnald
has been able to take control as the leader of
this Vikings offense.

Speaker 9 (29:15):
I mean he just kind of like whatever the coach
tells us, what tells him, he kind of just relates.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
It to us.

Speaker 9 (29:21):
I feel like he does a great job at communicating
to the offense. I feel like he's always on us
about like if we don't score one draft, He's always
tell him us like, hey, we need to do better
this next job. And he always takes responsibility for the
stuff that he does wrong. And I mean after like,
great quarterbacks do that.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Kevin O'Connell since taking over as head coach in Minnesota,
has pressed all the right buttons. Now with two starting
quarterbacks Kirk Cousins and Sam Donald both also the leadership,
We've seen the postgame talks from from from you know,
all that the shows that cover this team and the
success that you guys have had. Talk about Kevin O'Connell,
the head coach, how has he gentrified renovated the Minnesota

(30:02):
Vikings since taking over?

Speaker 9 (30:06):
Ko is a great coach. I feel like he's a
players coach. He listens to all our leaders every week,
depending on who we play or how we play, and
who's injured or who's not injured, he changes the practice
like according to that. So like some weeks practices are
a little bit lighter just to protect the guys and
like make sure our bodies are healthy going into the games.

(30:27):
And I feel like great coaches do stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Vikings meet the Jets today twenty three seventeen in London
at Ingram. The Vikings guard is joining us right now, So, Ed,
I wanted to ask you this.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
You said this was your second time in London.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
How would you feel about an NFL team overseas and
then being drafted by that team where you would have
to I don't know, live in London, live in Spain.
They're even talking about a game in France right now.
Is that even feasible? Can you actually see that oppening
down the road in the NFL.

Speaker 9 (31:00):
I mean, I could definitely see that happening. I feel
like the NFL is trying to like spread out and
like go to different countries and stuff like that, and
I feel like it's becoming more popular. So I can
definitely see Mike the NFL spreading out to different different
countries and having different teams like in Paris, Germany and
stuff like that in Brazil, even in England.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Hey, I understand he plays for the New York Jets now,
but how important do you think it is to Minnesota
fans that you guys got the win over Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 9 (31:28):
I mean is probably the biggest thing for our fans.
I mean we've been going out here and grinding every
week and just trying to put on a so far.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Fans well, Ed, congratulations to you and the Vikings first
team to five wins. I know that sounds great to you.
Good luck the rest of the way ahead, and thanks
so much. Have a great flight back from London.

Speaker 9 (31:48):
No problem, Thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
That's Ed Ingram, former LSU star now starting guard with
the Vikings a couple of years in the league, and yeah,
I mean they had it up against them today. The
Jets defensive front. Four sacks of Sam Darnold by far
his worst game of the year in terms of throwing
the football.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
But what are they care? Five and zero? That sounds good, yeah, buddy.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
I Look, when it comes to play an offensive line,
sometimes you just have to admit they're getting paid too, right,
you know, So occasionally you're doing everything that you can.
And guess what, they're edge rushers. They're hitting your quarterback
because they have talent. And that Jets defense look for
as disappointing as some of the early returns are on

(32:31):
the season, with all the excitement about Aaron Rodgers being
back healthy this year, for the New York Jets, that
defense is really what makes that whole team go.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Robert Sala was brought in for a reason.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
He was brought in to make sure that the run
game was gonna be strong and the defense was gonna
be strong. And then they were just looking for that
quarterback and they found it in Aaron Rodgers. He couldn't
play last year because of the Achilles' tear. But if
it's gonna work, it's gonna be because Rogers gets it
going offensively, and so they're they're way him.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
They're waiting on him. Patiently, all right, c J.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Strouds lighting it up another touchdown pass, this one to
Nico Collins, and just like that, the Texans have taken
a thirteen to three lead, penning the extra point against
the Bills. No defense just right down the field, no coverage,
walk in touchdown.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
It doesn't get any easier.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Deep coverage completely broke down for the Bills, and it
is fourteen to three Texans leading.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
That game.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
Also scored that we missed. The Cincinnai Bengals have even
up their game against the Ravens on a touchdown pass
from Joe Burrow to t Higgins, Joe Burrow often running
six and seven fifty seven yards and that score. Huge
game for both these teams. Ravens coming in at two
and two, Bengals at one in three.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
All right, where we are nearing.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
The end already a first quarters around the National Football League,
six games in progress right now. For all the latest scores,
the stats you need, keep it here. This is red
Zone radio.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
Five carries twenty five yards are swift. Here's a snap
of a playfait the swift for the pocket end up throwing.
Oh but DJ Moore HiT's out of fifteen to the
ten turns it up to the five walking into the
end zone.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Touchdown Bears Caleb Williams thirty four yards to DJ Moore
for the score. That is the Bears Radio Network and
the Bears, by the way, have just scored again to
take a fourteen to seven lead over the Carolina Panthers
on a Johnson rush of a yard. So fourteen seven

(34:26):
Bears right now, just the start of the second quarter. There.
Once again, this is Red Zone Radio, Steve Harpin and
Rich Ornberger with you. We are live from the tire
rack dot Com studios. All right, so let's do a
quick update on the six games going on right now.
As we mentioned, Bears lead the Panthers fourteen to seven.
These are all second quarter scores. Bengals and Ravens are

(34:47):
tied at seven. Dolphins and the Patriots. Patriots lead this
game seven to three. Commander's seven, Brown's nothing. Colts on
the road leading the winless Jaguars seven to three, and
the Houston Texans up fourteen to three on the Bills.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
Bill's trying to drive right now. CJ. Stroud five for five,
one hundred and.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Nine yards and a score early on in this game,
as the Texans looked to go to four and one
on the season. You know, a couple weeks ago we
were talking about the Bills rich As like, okay, right
now three weeks in, the Bills look like the best team.
Then they get blasted last week by the Ravens and
now down early against the Texans.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Yeah, it is not going smoothly for Josh Allen and
the Bills. Look, I would say up until this start today,
I wouldn't hit any panic buttons, but it is a
little bit of feast and famine with Josh Allen. He's
one for eight in this game. Yeah, he was very
steady for years when he had his offensive coordinator with

(35:47):
him that he started his career. And then as soon
as uh oh, I am I blanking on his name,
the New York Giants head coach Dabel, Dabel thank you.
As soon as Dabel moved on and took the head
coaching job. Now he's had two offensive coordinators since they've
moved on to Brady since then, but Dorsey before him.
It just it doesn't seem as cohesive as it did

(36:10):
when it was stable.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
One for nine, that's what he is right now right now. CJ.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Strott has a perfect passer ratio one fifty eight point three.
Josh Allen is one for nine passing in this game.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Again, like I said, certain games, it looks like he's unstoppable.
I've described him in the past, and it's my favorite
way to describe him as a moose in's shoulder pads
because he plays in cold weather. And I don't know
if anybody's ever encountered a moose. You don't ever want
to be in their path, Like, you know, how does
he get the helmet over the antlers? We don't know,
But he can do whatever he wants with the football

(36:45):
at times and then other times he shrinks.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
And right now, at least in the first quarter through
the progress of.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
This game, he's really struggled against this Houston Texans defense.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
All right, speaking of shrinking, Deshaun Watson, Brown's are losing
seven out down the road to the Commanders. He's four
to for eleven for thirty three yards. Yeah, yeah, four
for eleven for thirty three yards. At what point if
the Browns lose this game, they would be one in
four on the season.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
What do you do with Deshaun Watson?

Speaker 2 (37:15):
You pulled the plug on the guy that's got guaranteed money,
guaranteed money over two hundred million guaranteed money.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
How do you handle this if you're the Brows.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Some decisions are sports decisions and then certain decisions are
business decisions. And it depends on the type of owner
you have how many sports decisions get made. And so
if you have an owner like Jerry Jones who likes
to meddle, there's going to be an even mix because
obviously he's an expert marketer. Even though the Dallas Cowboys

(37:48):
have had varied levels of success, ultimately not getting to
championship games and winning Super Bowls in a very long
time since the nineties, they've still sustained this America's Team
vibe that continue news on. But he's an owner who
will make business decisions in sports decisions. When Robert Kraft
had Bill Belichick, it seemed like they only made sports

(38:09):
decisions in Cleveland. They have an owner who it feels
like right now they're only interested in making a business decision.
They've invested this much money into this quarterback, and so
they're going to see this through as soon as they
hand this over to Kevin Stefanski and they say, hey,
we want you to put the most competitive players on

(38:29):
the field. Trust me, Deshaun Watson will no longer be
the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Well, do you go to Jamis Winston? Absolutely?

Speaker 3 (38:37):
I trust Jamis Winston right now more than I trust
Justshaun Watson. Deshaun Watson is playing like one of the
worst quarterbacks in the NFL. He is not generating any offense.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
However, the Browns just got a field goal Hopkins from
fifty one yards out, cutting the Commander's league to seven
to three. We mentioned Jaden Daniels came into this game
with a record eighty two percent completion percent in the
first four games of the season today five of ten.
And this again is a really good Cleveland defense. They're

(39:07):
going to put pressure on him. He's been sacked already
one time in this game, so he's getting.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
A little more pressure.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
He voted one rush for a big passer to McLaurin
early in the game, sixty six yard pass play. But
outside of that, it's dink and dunk for this Commander's
offense early on. So seven to three Commanders have the
lead against the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
From a standpoint of quarterbacks. You know how you rank them,
how you rate them? What would you say is the
most important stat when it comes to quarterbacks?

Speaker 1 (39:37):
Well, I think completion percentage.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Right, completion percentage I mean and yards per attempt.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
I mean if you went into this week, you know
you would see Sam Darnold right there in all those
different categories.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
So yards per attempt and completion percentage.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
So right now, from a passer rating standpoint, Jayden Daniels
with the Washington Commanders is fourth overall in the league.
Twenty eighth is where Deshaun Watson sits is fourth to
last in the NFL amongst starting quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
I W we continue on as we are in just
second quarters around the NFL.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
This is Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Rolling along here on another busy NFL Sunday.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
This is Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
We're broadcasting live from the ti iraq dot com studios
ti rack dot comer and help get you there and
not match selection fasts, free shipping, free roadhazard protection, over
ten thousand recommended installers ti i rack dot com. The
way tire buying should be. It feels like a half
slate today. Sometimes we get as many as ten games

(40:33):
kicking up at once. Right now, we're at six we
are approaching halftime. In several of these games, A couple
updates the Colts right now two minute warning. In Jacksonville,
Colts scored first, but Jacksonville came back.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
By the way, in this.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Game, Trevor Lawrence is eleven for twelve, one hundred and
eighty nine yards in a score. So he has been
red hot in a must win for the Jaguars. Only
one team, if your curer is only one team has
ever started to see he's an zero to four and
made the playoffs. And I covered that team. That would
be the nineteen ninety two San Diego Chargers. They had
a new coach and Bobby Ross. They started zho to four,

(41:09):
won eleven of their last twelve games, won their division,
won a playoff game.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
But that is still.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
The only team to start oh to four and make
it into the postseason.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
That's why I always say, do not judge a team
or a player early, judge them late. Okay, So it's
very easy to write off a rookie quarterback his first
season because you look at him, he's, ah, you know what,
he just doesn't work at the NFL level. Okay, Yeah,
you could do that, or you could let it bake.
You could give it a couple of weeks, you could
give it a couple years, and you could see some

(41:40):
of the results start to reveal themselves. Look at Baker Mayfield,
first overall pick to the Browns. You know, got them
to a playoff game, got them a playoff win while
he was there, but it was.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
A disaster on that coaching staff.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
He made a stop in Carolina before going to the Rams,
before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him. Do you think
they're happy with the signing. He's in one of the
best quarterbacks through these last two seasons. Now, you know,
you look at a player like Sammy Darnold, you know
he gets taken in the first round to the Jets.
That organization has been a disaster basically my entire life. Okay,

(42:13):
I'm thirty eight. I don't think the Jets have figured
it out in my lifetime. So the Jets really ruined
his opportunities to get his career started. And he's bounced
around the league and he's finally MPEd up in a cohesive,
consistent culture with the Minnesota Vikings. He's off to a
five and zero start. So again, don't judge teams or
players early. You got to let things bake and set

(42:36):
in and congeal and form. And that's exactly what could
happen for Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Listen, the
light at the end of the tunnel can also be
a train coming. So I'm not saying it's all sunshine
and rainbows. It could go really badly for the Jacksonville Jaguars,
but it's still.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
Early, all right.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
The Colts right now with a third and ten at
the Jacksonville twelve yard line inside teammous ago Joe Flacco
and for the injured Anthony Richardson, and you know, this
is a huge game for both these teams. Obviously, the
Jags have to win for a game at some point
you would think this year. But the Colts in two
and two, you win today on the road, get to
three and two, you very much in the mix. And

(43:14):
Joe Flacco is outperforming Anthony Richardson when he's in there.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
I mean, Flacco today is fifteen to seventeen passing.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
Joe Flacco is outperforming a lot of starting quarterbacks in
the NFL right now. Joe Flacco is a talented passer.
He's a good decision maker. Now, he'll make some boneheaded
decisions in games. He'll try to douce too much sometimes
sometimes because look, he's always had a powerful arm. He
trusts his arm a little too much. This was a
problem with him in Baltimore. It has followed him as

(43:45):
he's making this second act to his career as a
reserve quarterback who's gotten starts in consecutive seasons now last
year with the Browns, this year with the Colts. But
outside of that, outside of those few plays where he
makes bad decisions over he's a consistent, really smart high
IQ football player.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
Wow, we just.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
Saw an enormous hit and we have a Carolina panther
who's out on his feet. They're gonna stop this game
for a little while. The Bears just knocked the football
loose and absolutely leveled whoever that was at a tight end.

Speaker 6 (44:20):
Who look at this hit? I think that's Tommy Trimble.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
Right, Yeah, that was a helmet to helmet.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
He actually lowered his helmet the receiver and looked like
he knocked himself out.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
Dude, he just went limb.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
Now hopefully he's okay, ragdall, but he put his helmet
down and it became helmet to helmet. He was knocked
out because the ball just came loose and he ended
up on his back on top of the Bears player
that he went helmet to helmet with. So we'll get
you an update on that. Meanwhile, the Bills and the Texans,
it has been all Texans fourteen to three. Tailor two

(44:54):
quarterbacks c J. Stroud ten for ten for one hundred
and seventy seven yards, Josh Allen two for ten for
thirty four yards. So it's been all Houston Texans in
this game, leading by a score of fourteen to three. However,
the Bills do have the ball inside six minutes to
go in the first half, and now.

Speaker 3 (45:12):
The Texans thirty yard line, and we have a run
away for the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen just completed a
pass inside the twenty yard line. No, no, no, to the
was in Texans fifteen. No, they just cost midfield.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Oh yeah, actually right, they're all I thought they were
the red zone.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
Yeah, yeah, you're getting ahead of here, are you?

Speaker 3 (45:34):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (45:35):
Oh my gosh. Score. Yeah, they just crossed midfield.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
So the Bills trying to get back in this game
inside five minutes to go in the first half with
Houston leading this score.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
By by the way, Holland, who does not wear shoes,
he so went so the receiver Holland's when he's out
of his cleats, he goes barefoot everywhere he he refuses
to wear shoes.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
I mean, I'm worried about hookworm. I'm worried about a
lot of things.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
I mean, would you be walking those fields barefoot?

Speaker 1 (46:07):
No?

Speaker 3 (46:08):
No, no, especially not the turf So I mean, like
if I okay, these turf the turf fields, especially the
indoor turf fields, they don't drain.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
No, there's no rain water.

Speaker 3 (46:17):
So I mean whatever gets you know, spit out or
up chucked on those fields, guess what, it just stays there.
I mean occasionally he may have a trainer walk by
and squirt water on something, but that's about it.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
I mean, this guy, look, I have serious concerns about
that's on aroma to those fields.

Speaker 2 (46:33):
You know what, because I mean, I mean, you know,
you know you when you're on a grass field, what
do you smell?

Speaker 1 (46:38):
You smell grass? Right, I'm glad that on these artificial turfs.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
So there was a corner of one of the fields
at Penn State where when you had to go. You
had to go, and it was a long run back
to the locker room, right, and so yeah, you know whatever, Well,
in the heat of the summer, let's just put it
this way. I mean, you know, it's so sticky the
way I'm just saying, the humidity. All of a sudden,

(47:04):
you know, there's something's wafting from that southwest corner.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
It's not good. It's not great.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
Colts get a field goal, so they tie the game
with the Jags ten to ten.

Speaker 1 (47:14):
Now again, one forty four to go.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
In the first half of that game, Panthers and the Bears.
Bears were down early, but since then, the Bears defense
we've talked about the turnover they just forced. Bears have
a fourteen to seven lead. They have a first down
at the Carolina forty three yard line, and Caleb Williams
is playing pretty well in this game. He's seven of
ten passing ninety eight yards. He hasn't scored, no interception,

(47:38):
So you can see some progress week to week with
Caleb Williams. Meanwhile, on the other side, Andy Dalton, it
looks great, right, seven of eight passing fifteen yards. Yeah,
wait a second, I'm like the seven completions for fifteen yards.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
That's hard to do.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
That's two yards again, shots like bone Nick's Aaron Rodgers,
do we have a safety in what game?

Speaker 1 (48:03):
Where did this just happen?

Speaker 2 (48:04):
That was in the Cincinnati Oh, they just wrapped up
Lamar Mark Jackson. No, Derek Cannery, he gets tackled in
the end was that Hubbard?

Speaker 3 (48:14):
He just got his pins knocked out in the end
zone and the Cincinnati Bengals score two points and they
get the ball back.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
So Derek Henry, that's not easy to bring down the
big guy in the end zone. But that's exactly what happened.
So the Bengals now fourteen to nine, They're down to
the Ravens inside six minutes ago, and of course the
Ravens now will have the free kick back to the Bengals.
Speaking of the Bengals, a team that you know I
picked two win the division, which was obviously kiss of
death for them, and I also thought Joe.

Speaker 1 (48:43):
Burrow was going to be MVP.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
Joe Burrow has not played bat I mean, his passer
rating is over one hundred this year.

Speaker 1 (48:49):
He's played fine. Their defense has been atrocious. Yeah, they
can't stop anybody.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
It's been a huge problem and they haven't really been
able to stop Baltimore so far today outside of that
amazing play that they just were able to wrap up
Derek Henry bring him to the turf in his own
end zone. So the field position game working out for
Cincinnati Bengals here, as Joe Burrow before the half is
going to be able to take over with half a

(49:15):
field to go after the ensuing safety punt.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
All right, Joe Burrow right now seven of ten sixty
five yards and a touchdown. Lamar Jackson eight to fourteen
hundred and nine yards and a score. He also has
three rushes for twelve yards. Derek Henry has a touchdown,
but just nine carries for twenty six yards. That's less
than three yards a carry, so so far, the Bengals
have done a good job. Meanwhile, as stretch of the
goal line touchdown Bears Bears DeAndre Swift gets into the

(49:41):
end zone as they increase their lead to twenty to seven,
penning the extra point and dad hold against the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (49:47):
He's off to a good start with the Bears. The
run game is really, I mean it circled around him.
They go as he goes, and when he has a
good game, and he's piling up yardage and he's getting
them scores on the ground. The Bears have had success
because look what helps the young a young quarterback out.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
It's a strong run game and also good.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
Passing targets out of the backfield and with your tight ends.
And DeAndre Swift can do a lot of that too.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
By the way, the Bears already in this game, first half,
two hundred and sixteen total yards. This is one of
the best Bears offenses we've seen all year. And DeAndre
Swift is having a half fourteen carries, sixty six yards
and that score. So the Bears are off and running,
and await a second.

Speaker 3 (50:31):
They took the touchdown off the board. It looks like
they're gonna say his knee was down somewhere round ahead
of myself yard line, and he stretched the ball out
just about to the one yard line. So it'll be
second and goal from the Carolina Panthers one yard line,
and I believe they handed it Swift again and he
plunges in for the score.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
As I said, DeAndre Swift scored. Nothing changes here, all right.

Speaker 2 (50:57):
Deondrey Swift scored and the Bears are up seven, waiting
for the extra point. All right, so we're heading to
halftime in six games around the NFL. We'll continue updates,
two score stats, everything you need. This is Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
Trevor grops Hey, looks fires, keep up, I've got a
man at by Thomas Junior.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
Fifty heniclet Territory thirty five thirty twenty.

Speaker 3 (51:18):
Five ten, five touts down Bryant Thomas Junior.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Just win eighty five yards. How good is that?

Speaker 2 (51:28):
That's the Jaguars Radio network and it's halftime at Jacksonville.
The Jaguars lead the Colts by a score of thirteen
to ten. Fifteen of eighteen passing two hundred twenty five
yards on the score for the suddenly hot Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
Once again, this is Red Zone Radio. Steve Harbin and
Rich Ornberger with you.

Speaker 2 (51:46):
We are live from the tire rack dot Com studios,
so Jacksonville looking for their first win of the season,
and Trevor Lawrence, as I mentioned, has been near flawless
in this game. Fifteen of eighteen twenty five yards and
a score. On the other side, Joe Flaccos seventeen or
twenty one only one hundred and thirty two yards a

(52:06):
score and no picks Jacksonville. One of the things for
Jacksonville that's been missing offensively is Etn Travis Etn today
four carries twelve yards. And it's tough in this league
if you can't run the football, and so Jacksonville's running
game is down. But let me ask you this, if
Jacksonville does not survive today, I mean, how sure is

(52:31):
the lease here on Doug Peterson in terms of being
the coach of the team. I mean, we go back
to his Philadelphia Eagle days, the guy who wins the
Super Bowl. He out coaches Bill Belichick in a Super
Bowl out coached him that day.

Speaker 1 (52:43):
A couple of years later, he's gone. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (52:45):
I mean, certain guys flame out, They rise quick, they
make things happen, and then whatever magic they had disappears.
You think Peterson is safe in Jacksonville regardless of how
the season goes, or could he be the first casualty
of the twenty twenty four season.

Speaker 3 (53:01):
Not only is he not not only is he not safe,
but he I mean he's most likely going to be
fired if this continues. I mean, look, this is a
results driven league. I don't love it. I don't love
the fact that anybody can lose their job. But at
the end of the day, Shot Khan has an organization
run and if he doesn't feel like he has the

(53:22):
right guy at the front of the class, then he's
got to make one of those hard decisions and Doug
Peterson could lose another job unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Coming up later on Fox, The Raiders on the Road
against the Broncos, Laura Ackman's going to be there, Laura,
Thanks for joining us once again. How are you today? Hello, Laura?
Do we have Laura? Is she there?

Speaker 1 (53:43):
She was there? All right, So there we go and
added a nice build up for her right there. Well, listen,
we will catch up with Laura in just a moment.

Speaker 3 (53:52):
But yeah, look, I mean, in terms of the Jacksonville Jaguars,
the big problem here is if they lose this game,
that means they've lost back to back in division games.
And that's that's going too smart, because this really paints
you into a corner. If you're the owner, you know,
all of a sudden, you're looking up at the scoreboard
and saying to yourself, you know, geez, you know, we

(54:14):
can't even be competitive in.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
Our own division. And so that's where it gets dicey.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
All right, let's try this once again. I believe we
do have Laura ready to go. Laura, how you doing today?

Speaker 10 (54:26):
Hello, Good morning, general, Good morning, good afternoon. I don't
know what time's on. I'm a mountain and I get
all mixed up. A good afternoon.

Speaker 1 (54:32):
Happy Sunday, Well, happy Sunday to you, Laura. Of course.

Speaker 2 (54:35):
So we're talking about this game coming up between the
Raiders and the Broncos. All right, we know that DeVante
Adams is not playing in this game today, Laura. What
are you hearing about his future with the Raiders? Is
he going to be reunited with Aaron Rodgers with the Jets?
What's going to go on as far as the future
of DeVante Adams?

Speaker 10 (54:51):
Well, I mean, I'm hoping Jay Glazer is after me
so he can tell you a little bit more. I
can just tell you from the Raiders side this week,
they love DeVante, and so I think this through everybody.
I think I think we've talked more about sometimes you'll
have a player who's just gruntled and guys are kind
of like, all right, like let's get this chapter done.
But he's loved in this building, and so I think

(55:13):
they were thrown by it. But what I've talked to
more guys about is there's been a lot of drama
period and talking about them trying to make sure that
doesn't still out into Sunday, which it didn't last week,
and they were really proud of that. You know, it's
a lot going on with Antonio Pears calling them out
and then you know, kind of walking that back and
with everything happening with Davante. I think right now they're

(55:33):
focused more as cliche as this is of how do
we get our ax together and you know, and how
how do we turn into ninth straight wins over this
division rival?

Speaker 3 (55:42):
So it didn't worked out a year ago with the
Denver Broncos and Russell Wilson, he spent two years with
the team, one year with Sean Payton. He moves on
in trade to the Steelers, and the Denver Broncos are
paying Russell Wilson not to play for him for them now.

Speaker 1 (55:58):
Yeah, Bo Nicks.

Speaker 3 (55:59):
He enters the the situation as a first round draft
choice by the Denver Broncos. It felt like Sean Payton
helped Hands select him as his quarterback. What's the feeling
around the building on Nicks? How is Sean Payton feeling
about his progression as their passor now you talked.

Speaker 10 (56:19):
To Sean about bow Nick and it's like it's an
hour and a half of him just going on and on.
And I wrote down because he said the first thing
he said to us when we were talking to him
our production team was I really really really and he
said five reallyes because I was like, all right, after three,
I'm counting how many realies are this? I really really
really really really like him.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
And so what we.

Speaker 10 (56:40):
Talked about was him trying what Sean's trying to do
is go, I'm not trying to give a progression. You
know a lot of times with the rookie quarterbacks that
we've seen so many this year already, the head coaches
are like, here's the progression that we want to see
out of them, and Sean's like, we have really organic benchmark,
and what we need to do is really make sure

(57:01):
that we're showing up around him. And he said everyone
keeps saying that we need a receiver, which you know
that was a lot of talk why not DeVante here?
But he's like our biggest weapon, you know. Every time
someone says we need a weapon for him is our defense.
And the defense is falling right now. But so what
Shawn is saying is no more drop passes. We got
to be better offensive linewise blocking. And also what he

(57:22):
said is he kind of has been holding him back.
He's like, he's a really smart kid, not five really,
but you know, really really smart kid. And said that
he loves some RPOs and he loves some things that
Sean hasn't been giving him. So this is the game
he said we're going. He didn't say, like, let's take
the training wheels off, but he said we're swimming in
waters and depths we haven't gone to yet, and that's

(57:43):
on Sean. So I say that to say Sean really
likes him, really sees a lot of him. The players
love him. They talk so much about his toys. And
the first time meeting him, I understood why he's got,
you know, just a really nice presence about him that
this moment isn't too big for him. He's gone through
a lot, you know, with the Housings went at Auburn.
He's a son of a coach's kid, so he kind

(58:05):
of beaks the lingo and the older players love him.
But you know, I just at the end of the day,
what are we going to see him progress? Even though
Sean won't say that, we just haven't seen that much out.

Speaker 4 (58:15):
Of him yet.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
Well, I want to ask you about Antonio Peers.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
I saw an interesting set since he took over last
year as the head coach of the Raiders, the Raiders
have been the least penalized team in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (58:28):
And that's not Raider football in my mind.

Speaker 2 (58:31):
You know, I worked for the Raider organization many many
years ago in the LA market, and you know, I'm
like thinking, all right, okay, so what impact we kept hearing,
you know, the players last year really trumpeting we want
to keep Antonio Peers as our coach.

Speaker 1 (58:48):
But is he too tight to the player.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
I'm just trying to still figure out this whole dynamic
between Antonio Piers and his team.

Speaker 1 (58:56):
What is that relationship? Like that?

Speaker 10 (59:00):
You asked that, and I love it, you know, obviously
you know the building. I talked a lot about that
with Antonio, with Marvin Lewis, who Marvin's on his staff,
and that was very intentional. Marvin was retired and Antonio
wanted him here, one of his mentors, to help him
in this transition. And so what happened was the players
loved that fire heself last year and they wrote that

(59:21):
like that. You know, we were here for his first
game and the building was on fire, the team was
on fire. They wanted that energy and that's great as
an interest, but now you're the head coach and Antonio
was kind of trying to figure that out. So when
he called out guys last two weeks ago and said
some guys made a business decision that that just kind
of got people a little bit, a little bit rattle.

(59:43):
Now Antonio walked that back, but every player I talked
it was cool with it that they were like it.
That's one of the things we do like about him.

Speaker 9 (59:51):
Now.

Speaker 10 (59:52):
Marvin just gave me the greatest conversation about Antonio and
he said he leads like he played. And I brought
that up to Antonio, who was like, huh, I mean,
Marvearet hasn't told me that before. Like, let me think
about that, and he said, it makes sense. He goes
all the things that made me a good player that
lasted long, the intensity, the way that he would call

(01:00:13):
the players out. He said, the media, New York media
was very demanding. It made me be very tough and
very vocal and he said, that's all the stuff that
made me successful. So I brought that all here, but
I've got to be careful as the head coach that
I can't take all of that now. So I think
you're not alone kind of going what's the dynamic with

(01:00:34):
him as the head coach, because I think Antonio's trying
to figure that out now. And what's it been like
thirteen fourteen games? Like it hasn't been that many, but
we see former players have when they make this transition.
Have to figure out what made me so successful as
a player. Jack want that, but also being careful some
of those things now doesn't work when you're the head chair.

Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
Well, he's pulled all the right levers for this locker room.
The players really have responded to him. He's pulled all
the right levers against Denver in his short time with
the Raiders. Because I wasn't aware of this prior to
this game, but Denver is.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
Now lost to the Raiders eight consulutive. Yeah, I mean
this is why? So is this? Is there a little
bit more.

Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
On this one for Sean Payton and the Broncos hosting
the Raiders today.

Speaker 10 (01:01:20):
I tried like I went there and how I praised.
It was Sean doesn't hide from that stuff. Like you
remember in New Orleans he did some burials, like to
ceremonial burials with like bringing some jazz musicians. So Sean
is like, you can talk to him about our certain
streaks or things getting into players head, and so he will,

(01:01:41):
he'll take that bite. But what he said was he
goes at the end of the day. What I would
tell you is, whenever you look at streaks and trends,
what it comes down to is the one football team
was good and one football team is bad. And he
said they had a bad football team, including last year
when Seawan was here and they lost flight. And he said,
So what I would tell you, what we'll even that

(01:02:01):
out is when we are playing good football. And so
that's as far as you would go into. But I
always wonder that too. I mean, when it's crazy streaks
like that, the players are all very aware of that.
So all of a sudden, you know, if they lose
a lead, if all of a sudden the field kind
of killed, you know the last couple of minutes, does
that stuff get in your head? But what I would
say is most of these Broncos haven't even been here,

(01:02:24):
you know, for that many games, so a lot for
last year. But so Sean is down playing it. And
again with this young young roster, I think it's the
third youngest in the NFL. I don't think that's anything
to do with anything except us talking about isn't that
a crazy streak that nobody expected to hear?

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Big battle, long time rivalry Raiders on the road against
the Broncos. Laura, we appreciate the time, enjoy the game today.

Speaker 10 (01:02:49):
I haven't talked to you guys all season.

Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
I'm happy to.

Speaker 10 (01:02:51):
Hear your voices. Have a great season and hope to
talk to you soon.

Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
Thanks so much.

Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Laura.

Speaker 3 (01:02:55):
By the way, right there, yeah you really really really
really really like her.

Speaker 1 (01:02:59):
Yes, yeah, we really really really like her. All right.

Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
We got a lot of things happening right now around
the National Football League, so let's find out what is trending.
And Moncey was excited to see Jamar Chase get in
the end zone.

Speaker 8 (01:03:13):
I mean, that was a beautiful play. That was a
beautiful design.

Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
He wouldn't be on any of your fantasy kings.

Speaker 7 (01:03:19):
He's not, And knowing me, I'm probably playing against him
and I'm gonna choke, right now hold on.

Speaker 8 (01:03:23):
It was fine.

Speaker 7 (01:03:23):
I'm fine, I'm just I got too much to say. Okay,
So the Bengals scored that touchdown, that beautiful pass to
Jamar Chase. They're going for two because the Bengals are
only up by one right now, about nine seconds to
go against the Bengals in the first half, they went
for two. Kyle Hamilton seemed to have intercepted the pass
from Joe Burrow.

Speaker 8 (01:03:41):
He ran it all the way.

Speaker 7 (01:03:43):
Down to, like, I don't know, the ten yard line
was finally pushed out of boundary.

Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
He literally ran out of gas.

Speaker 8 (01:03:48):
Literally ran out of gas.

Speaker 7 (01:03:50):
And then they called I think defensive interference on the
bank on the Ravens. So the Bengals got the ball
again to give it another go there they.

Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
Are still trying for this to try for the two.
They called it on him also.

Speaker 8 (01:04:02):
So he was so out of breath.

Speaker 7 (01:04:05):
He was even like, I'm not going back in, and
they're like, you have to go back in.

Speaker 8 (01:04:08):
What are you talking about.

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
By the way, he literally was tackling the receiver.

Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
I think it was up blaytant over the pass interference
on the two point conversion, But it was so funny
watching him go down the field because he got about
to the twenty five yard line and you could tell
like it was just like I can't read right now.

Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
I'm done, you know, not believe that was fun enough.

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
It was almost like the scene in Forrest Gump where
he's like, I'm gonna go home now.

Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
Yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
In the meantime, the Cincinnati Bengals have successfully converted their
two point conversion.

Speaker 7 (01:04:38):
Which has taken for I feel like it's been nine
seconds for the entire time you were talking to him.
It takes on it really, So we're headed to halftime
with the Bengals likely on top seventeen to fourteen against
the Ravens. Joe Burr thirteen of eighteen, one hundred and
fifty seven yards and two touchdowns, the latest to Jamar
Chase the Bears all over the Panthers in the first
half twenty seven to seven. Caleb Williams I do have

(01:05:00):
him on my fantasy eleven of fifteen, two hundred yards
and two touchdowns so far in the game. The Dolphins
and the Patriots a bit of a snooze fest, but
New England is on top seven to three against the Dolphins.
Jacoby Brissette seven of twelve forty four yards that touchdown
for the Patriots. Ramandre Stevenson, who has six carries forty
nine yards in a touchdown. Tyler Huntley, who is quarterback

(01:05:21):
for the Dolphins as they figured things out with Tuatogo
Bailoa twelve of twenty two, one hundred and twenty six
yards and one interception. The Commanders are all over the
Browns twenty four to three, still about thirty seconds to
go in the first half. Jade and Daniels eleven of
twenty one, not his greatest but one hundred and sixty
six yards and a touchdown in the air. At halftime,
it's the Jaguars on top of the Colts thirteen to ten.

(01:05:41):
Jags again zero to four. Trevor Lawrence fifteen of eighteen,
two hundred and twenty five yards in a touchdown, which
was an eighty five yard touchdown pass to Brian Thomas Junior.
The Texans also seem to get a little going a
little hot, but it kind of cooled down right before
the half. They're beating the Bills seventeen to three, so
it's been all Texans. CJ. Strald twelve teen one hundred
and eighty seven yards and one touchdown. Nico Collins two

(01:06:03):
catches seventy eight yards and that touchdown. He was questionable
to return with a hamstring injury and LDS and baseball
continues later today.

Speaker 8 (01:06:11):
Two games. The first one it's the Mets in the Phillies.

Speaker 11 (01:06:13):
Game two.

Speaker 7 (01:06:14):
The Phillies have benched All star third basement Alec Bohm
for this game. He went zero for for yesterday, kind
of in a little bit of a slump, so they've
benched him in this and all divisional series. And that
game starts at four to oh eight Eastern time. Then
it's Game two between the Padres and the Dodgers. First
pitch at eight oh three Eastern time.

Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
Yeah for the Dodgers yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Look, the Dodgers no going into this best of five
against a red hot Padres team.

Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
They need to win the first two games. Here's the
problem yesterday for the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:06:41):
So you know, Yamamoto obviously did not have a good game,
gets pulled after three innings, and so their bullpen throws
six shutout in heath, gave up just two hits seven strikeouts.

Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
Collectively, they threw one hundred and eight pitches.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Yes, they tried their bullpen yesterday, which means Flaherty will
be on the mound for the Dodgers today.

Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
He's going to have to go deep. Well, they got
to give their Ben a day off.

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
All you're asking Flaherty for is nine complete inns exactly.
You just want a complete game and if you need
him an extras maybe a ten.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
Yeah, that's all. That's all, and then everything's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
When you have trying to throw thirty nine pitches in
the game, you're like, okay, well, so we'll.

Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
See how that all plays out. But this I still
don't get it with.

Speaker 2 (01:07:24):
Baseball why they ask less of pitchers instead of more,
Because again, if you have to go five innings with
a starter, have a sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, what are
the chances that they all pitch?

Speaker 1 (01:07:35):
Well, it only takes one guy to have a bad
day to lose a game.

Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Look at the Phillies yesterday, Zach Wheeler, seven shutout innings,
dominating the Mets. He can't finish the game, You bring
in your bullpen and the Mets come back to win
the game.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
I get it, and you're right. Sometimes it doesn't work out,
but most of the time it does. In terms of
if you ask any hitter. How hard it is to
play the game now against fresh arms out of the
ball bullpen virtually every inning from the fifth inning on.
I mean, it's tough, man, you got flamethrowers every single inning.

Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
But the numbers don't lie.

Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
The fact is, back in the day when pitchers are
throwing complete games, the collective ninth inning era of those
pitchers that won a full nine was lower than it
is now with the specialist pitching the ninth inning, because
you would set hitters up over the course of a game,
you may see him four times.

Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
I know that's that. Yeah. So the actually, so the those.

Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
That actually finished nine full innings, collectively, their ninth inning
era was lower than what we have.

Speaker 1 (01:08:37):
From these so called closers.

Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
Change the rules so you could take a starting pitcher out,
but he could also come back in as your closer.

Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
Analytics don't work with me. They just don't work anyway.
Let's get back to little football right now. So we're
closing it.

Speaker 2 (01:08:50):
By the way, I didn't even get a chance to
talk to you about what happened on Thursday where the
Falcons amazing battle foot out with Kirk Cousins and and
Baker Mayfield Kirk Cousins ends up forty two to fifty eight,
five hundred and nine yards and four touchdowns in this game,
obviously a career high with over five hundred yards passing,
and all of a sudden, everyone's jumping on the Kirk

(01:09:11):
Cousins bandwagon. And I'm saying to myself, this always gets
back to regular season versus postseason.

Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Let me give you a regular season stat.

Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
In his last nine regular season games, Patrick Mahomes has
twelve touchdowns and ten picks. That is mediocrity personified. Last
nine regular season games. Twelve touchdowns, tens picks. I think
right now he's ranked eighteenth in the league in passing.

(01:09:43):
Does anyone look at that sat and say, well, he's
not the quarterback he.

Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
Used to be. Oh, by the way, in the middle
of that.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Three straight playoff wins to win another Super Bowl. So
when we talk about regular season versus the games that
really count.

Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
There is a difference.

Speaker 2 (01:10:01):
And so you know, I don't want to over amplify
a lot of times a game like Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
No knock on Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
I think Kirk Cousins is an above average quarterback, but
you know, wow, he was humbling. Remember how he could
never win a primetime game. Now he is winning a
prime time game. That's great, that's great for Kirk Cousins.
He has one playoff win in his career. Yeah one, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
One.

Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
Well, so I'm glad you bring this up because it
actually ties in well to what you were just talking about.
In baseball, analytics have taken over, yes, and so as
a result, you're seeing more and more pitchers being used,
starters going only two times through the order, and then
they're yanked even if they're having success, and then it's
mixed results with the relievers who enter the game. The

(01:10:46):
reason why that's happening is because people are trusting the stats,
and so if you trust the stats and you don't
watch the performances, you will be very confused about what's
actually happening. Patrick Mahomes is a close he's a finisher.
He's a guy who win the games on the line.
Would you prefer to have Mahomes or Kirk Cousins. I'm

(01:11:07):
taking Mahomes every time, and so is the majority of
the people who actually watch these football games because they've
seen Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
I think Kirk Cousins would take Patrick Mahomes over himself.

Speaker 3 (01:11:17):
I'm fairly certain that's an accurate statement, because when you
watch football, you see the special nature of Mahomes come
out in those clutch moments when you need it. Has
it been perfect No? Through the last nine regular season games,
has it been perfect No? You know, Statistically, I'm sure
he has a lot of plays that he wishes he
could have back, and he's leaving plays out there that

(01:11:40):
he wishes he could have performed better. But when the
season is on the line, when moments in games matter
the most, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs show
up every single time. That's the reason why they've won
three Super Bowls in the past five seasons, and they're
looking to win their third in a row, something that
has never happened in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
With a nearly perfect record so far this season. There
are teams that just know how to win. And you
were on one of them, the New England Patriots. It
wasn't like they would you know, there were certain seasons
like their undefeated season where they you know, had Randy
Moss and all of a sudden their lights out and
blowing people out. But for most of their run they
would just first of all, they would beat the teams

(01:12:22):
they were supposed to beat. They owned their division, so
they would win the games they needed to win. And
that's the fine line. When the games are on the line,
do you know how to actually win the game?

Speaker 10 (01:12:33):
Well?

Speaker 1 (01:12:34):
And that's the thing. So the Chiefs are four and
zho and you could go back to look good all season.

Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
A handful of plays where things have worked out either
for them or against their opponents. But isn't it odd
that they're always in it right at then? There are
never nobody's blowing out the Kansas City Chiefs. Nobody just
knocks the doors off the Chiefs and catches them sleeping.
We were just talking about the Buffalo Bills, how it's
kind of up and down with Josh Allen. It's up

(01:13:01):
and down with the Buffalo Bills. It seems like sometimes
they're really good and they look like world beaters, and
sometimes they just get smoked. Well, that doesn't happen with
the Kansas City Chiefs, and look. Huge amount of credit
to Andy Reid because he's a magician as a play caller.
Huge amount of credit to Steve Spagnulu who is calling
some of the best defense of his career since he

(01:13:21):
signed up with the Casey Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (01:13:23):
The deal is, you need all parts to really make
the perfect storm.

Speaker 9 (01:13:27):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
It's not just going to be the offense or the quarterback.
You need defense, special teams, you need ball security, you
need all those things. They have all those things. And oh,
by the way, they have a generational quarterback talent, and
that helps you out a lot in those moments that
matter the most.

Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
Halftime commanders dominating the Browns twenty four to three total
yards in this game, rich two hundred and eighty three
for Washington against that defense of Cleveland sixty eight total
yards for the Browns. It is all commanders as they
look to go to four and one and take command
the NFC East, who would have thought it all right?

(01:14:02):
Second halfs will be underway shortly. Keep it right here
for the latest. This is red zone radio.

Speaker 8 (01:14:08):
Second at seven at the forty one yard line.

Speaker 5 (01:14:11):
Two wide receivers are the right at three to the left,
Dicaffrey inerts next to each other.

Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
Inside the numbers.

Speaker 9 (01:14:15):
Dicaffrey chip clocks Jamee.

Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
Look it up towards them, running down up, tuckdown, tuckdown. Done.

Speaker 2 (01:14:27):
That's big one hundred Commanders Radio Network All Commanders at
halftime twenty four to three over the Browns. Jaydon Daniels
eleven and twenty one wow, ten incomplete passes. Who not that,
but he still has one hundred sixty six yards passing,
a touchdown, a pig and oh, by the way, he's
also run for forty eight yards on the ground and
the Commanders in full control of this one. So just

(01:14:49):
updating the six games right now around the National Football League.
The Bears blowing out the Panthers twenty seven to seven.
Second half underway there. The Bengals have a seventeen to
fourteen lead over the Ravens. Second half just beginning. Patriots
lead the Dolphins, the absolute zero offense Dolphins right now

(01:15:09):
without two. Seven to three is the score. Twelve minutes
to go in the third quarter. The Colts trailing the
Jaguars thirteen to ten. Jags leaguing for their first win
of the season, got nine minutes to go in the
third and it's been all Texans today.

Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
CJ.

Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
Stratton Company seventeen to three over the Buffalo Bills, who
look so good in the first three games, got dismantled
last week and their offense has completely been shut down
by the Texans today. Yeah, it's been a rough, by
the way field goal for the Texans now twenty to three.

Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
Yeah, it's been like I was about to say, it's
been a rough goal of it for the Bills this
season at times. Right, So, look, you look at them
against an Indivision rival in Miami, a thirty one to
ten victory there. You look at them in the opener
against the Cardinals, you say, hey, wow, Kyler Murray was absolute.
We're dealing against this Bills defense and they storm past them.

(01:16:04):
The Jaguars two weeks ago, that was an easy win. However,
when they're facing stiffer competition now, the Ravens a week ago,
the Texans today, it's not looking as consistent as it
was to start the season. Three and oh so one
of those last remaining undefeated teams. Remember there was like
five or six of them at three and L We're like, hey,

(01:16:25):
who's real, who's not?

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
Well?

Speaker 3 (01:16:27):
If the Bills was too straight, I mean, that's a
pretty emphatic answer, at least early in the season, to
what Buffalo's up to.

Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
All right, By the way, we're live from the ti
iraq dot Com Studios four teams have the week off
bye weeks or the Lions, Titans, Eagles, and Chargers bye
week and week five in an eighteen week season. That's
a little early for a bye, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (01:16:51):
I agree with you, But they could use it. Let's
face it, Well, you have no weeks off for the
next fourteen weeks.

Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
They could use it early though. I mean they're banged up. No,
both your offensive tackles out Herbert banged up. An early
buy may be the elixir that the Chargers are looking for.
So what normally I would agree with you, Steve is
an enormous red flag, like, wow, we have our bye
week week five.

Speaker 1 (01:17:15):
They need it. They need it worse than maybe any
team in football right now.

Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
Well, by the way, bo I said, so, so your
your team is off this week, and he goes, no,
the Rams are playing this week.

Speaker 6 (01:17:26):
What you're talking about, Steve?

Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
It's weird. The Rams are playing the Packers. They're right
down the stadia.

Speaker 6 (01:17:32):
I'll be down.

Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
So Executive producer bo Benson's as long as I've known him,
and it's been years in years years now, he's been
a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Yeah and uh, and he has
defended Nick family he has talked about Jellen Hurts as
if he was a cousin, you know. I mean he
was sending Christmas cards. None of them were requited, by

(01:17:56):
the way, and I still championed the effort. And now
here you are, you're turning your back on the family.

Speaker 6 (01:18:03):
No, like it's it's it's difficult. Can I can I
tell you guys a funny.

Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
Story real quick though, Absolutely so.

Speaker 6 (01:18:10):
I took the under on Nico Collins yard today it's
seventy eight and a half.

Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
I want to apologize to you on behalf of that
terrible selection made. Nico Collins has seventy eight yards receiving. Yeah,
and he has been downgraded to out for the rest
of the game. I will, I will hit the under
by half a yard on.

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
That, my goodness. So I didn't realize. So when he
walked off the field, he did not return.

Speaker 6 (01:18:34):
He did not return after oh my goodness.

Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
And and he he scored on I mean, if you
haven't been watching the Way to Sit Bills game, he
scored on like, I mean, he got all seven eight
yards one he.

Speaker 1 (01:18:44):
Might hold on. I'm smelling an investigation on that one
because he did.

Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
I mean, he the guy scores on a bomb, you know,
looking like he's gonna have like a career day, and
then he just seemed to walk off.

Speaker 6 (01:18:58):
Yeah, that's tough.

Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
I'm a little suspicious, you know, It's really it was
really weird how he said it's tough, and then Bo
just slipped brass knuckles off his fingers and stuffed them
into his pocket.

Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
You know what.

Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
It's also weird that we haven't seen Bo in like
an hour. Yeah. I have serious suspicions about what's been
going on. We have a field goal for the Patriots
ten to three.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
By the way, can you imagine that the Patriots beat
the Dolphins at home Miami, You'll be in dead last.

Speaker 1 (01:19:29):
Division, just like we drew it up. Gang.

Speaker 3 (01:19:32):
Remember in the preseason when we're saying the Dolphins will
be left for dead by week five.

Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
Well, I had the Patriots as the worst team in
the NFL this year, and they've been pretty bad, believe me,
after that opening game against the Bengals.

Speaker 1 (01:19:44):
But the Dolphins are worse.

Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
Well, I did have the Patriots winning eight games this year,
and guess what, there's still enough season to make that case.

Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
And there's still plenty of more action around the NFL.
Keep it right here. This is Red Zone Radio and
join every second of it. That would be the entire
NFL season. Once again, this is Red Zone Radio. We're
broadcasting live from the ti rack dot com studios. Tire
rack dot com. We're gonna help get you there, and
I'm Matt Selection fast free shipping, free road as a

(01:20:13):
protection over ten thousand recommended installers ti i rack dot
com the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 1 (01:20:21):
We have Lorena on the board today.

Speaker 3 (01:20:23):
Lorena doing an amazing job, and so are the Cincinnati Bengals,
who just took a twenty three to fourteen lead over
the Baltimore Ravens. Are about to tack on the extra
point here on a t Higgins touchdown reception, and guess
who's looking good receptions on the day. Fifty five yards
that's his second reception for a score. Who's looking good?

Speaker 2 (01:20:46):
That would be Joe Burrow, Who's eighteen to twenty five,
two hundred and twenty six yards, three touchdowns and no picks.
My pick this year to be the league's most valuable player. Now,
this is a huge game because you know, the Bengals
get to two and three if they win this.

Speaker 1 (01:21:00):
The Ravens would drop to two and three. Is it
time to question what's wrong with the Ravens?

Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
I mean the Ravens last week just annihilated Buffalo, looked
like they are back on track, got off to a
hot start today. This game's far from over. Obviously nine
minutes slept in the third quarter, but they lose.

Speaker 1 (01:21:18):
They two and three.

Speaker 3 (01:21:20):
Well, maybe Lamar Jackson's a little nervous because all of
a sudden he found out that a certain producer with
Fox Sports Radio is putting hits on starting quarterbacks around
the league.

Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
So we go back to bow Benson.

Speaker 3 (01:21:33):
Now, Lorena, are you uncomfortable sitting next to a known
hit man?

Speaker 9 (01:21:38):
Like?

Speaker 1 (01:21:38):
Is this to be fair?

Speaker 6 (01:21:40):
I do have the over on la Mar Jackson's passing
artist today, so he's safe.

Speaker 3 (01:21:44):
So Nico College, you've taken him out in Houston larea?
Are you worried about your safety? Blink twice if you're nervous, Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:21:52):
There is Jackson five times. That was a nervous blink.

Speaker 6 (01:21:56):
Gardner Minshew and Kyron Williams, they should be worried.

Speaker 1 (01:22:02):
I see this. You're not allowed to say that loud.
What happens if they go missing?

Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
If they turn a missing or somebody Jesus by the way, guys,
we're missing the comeback of the year. Commanders were up
twenty four to three at a half time against the Browns.

Speaker 1 (01:22:17):
Now it's twenty four to six. Yeah the Browns. Good
boy got a field goal. Okay, so a long way
to go.

Speaker 2 (01:22:25):
Speaking of a team that's limping along with field goals,
today the Dolphins got another field goal. They are trailing
the Patriots by a score of ten to six, and
the Bears are just annihilating the Panthers in position again
to score twenty seven to seven. The Bears lead this one.
This has been by far Caleb Williams' best game of

(01:22:47):
the year. He has looked dynamite twenty sixteen of twenty
one two and fifty seven yards, two touchdowns, no picks.
That's a one forty eight passer rating. So this is
the Caleb Williams that Bears fans were hoping to see.
That he's in full throttle today against the lowly Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 1 (01:23:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:23:06):
The Carolina Panthers have definitely settled back down into low
orbit since taking off after bringing in Andy Dalton and
benching Bryce Young. Andy Dalton having a very characteristic day
for Panthers quarterbacks recently thirteen of eighteen seventy five yards
and his only stat beyond that is a pick, and

(01:23:29):
again a quick reminder that the Bears are having all
this success, Caleb Williams specifically having all this success as
they face a third and goal from the Panthers sixteen
yard line. Just drew an incompletion there, So fourth and goal.
My guess is they're going to send the field goal
unit on the field and take a thirty to seven
lead over Carolina hosting them in Chicago. Is this is

(01:23:52):
the Panthers? I mean last year they were kind of
scrap heaped this year, not a lot of free agent additions,
not a lot of preseason buzz in terms of acquisitions,
So I don't know if there was a tremendous amount
of faith in this roster from ownership and also Dave Kanalis.
He was sort of handed Bryce Young and saying, hey,

(01:24:14):
we're not gonna make major investments here until you proved
to us you could fix him. And within the first
four games of the season, he sat him down on
the bench and they brought in Andy Dalton.

Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
The Bills trying to get back in this game against
the Texans, James Cook has scored the Bills still trailed
this game twenty to ten. Again, battle of quarterbacks has
been one sided in favor of C. J. Stroud seventeen
to twenty two, two forty yards, a touchdown, no picks.
Josh Allen just seven of twenty passing for just eighty

(01:24:44):
two yards, but seven minutes to go on the third quarter,
Bills have the ball trailing the Texans by a score
of twenty to ten. And that's that's really another measure
of quarterback play is it's sort of like a pitcher
when he says, I didn't have my best stuff right,
and I still got to figure this out. So I
don't have my fastball, my curve ball is not breaking.

(01:25:05):
I gotta still figure this out. And it can happen
for a quarterback where you know you're not having the
best day. How else can I beat you? And Josh
Allen certainly has the repertoire in his arsenal to figure
it out. So a long way to go there, Bears
end up with a field goal to up there, laid
to thirty to seven now over the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
Yeah, and look, going back to this Houston Texans defense. Obviously,
head coach Tamiko Rans was a defensive coordinator in San
Francisco before taking the head coaching job with Houston. He
brings with him a pressure package and a defense filled
with playmakers who can rush the passer. So Josh Allen
hit four times, hurried many others. They've kind of lived

(01:25:46):
in the offensive backfield of the Buffalo Bills. Six tackles
for loss so far in the day, including one sack
of Allen. This is a sweltering defense that the Buffalo
Bills are facing. The Bills up front on the offensive
line between them and their tight ends. They need to
do a better job protecting Josh Allen. They need to

(01:26:07):
do a better job creating some runlings for James Cook
and Ty Johnson out of the backfield or whoever is
going to be a ball carrier.

Speaker 1 (01:26:16):
They've struggled all game long so far.

Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
The Baltimore Ravens just had a fifty five yard pass
play from Lamar Jackson there Charlie Kohler, and that got
him in scoring position and they have just scored to
cut that Cincinnati lead to twenty four to twenty, penning
the extra point. By the way, in this game, the
Bengals have done a job on Derrick Henry. He came

(01:26:40):
into this game averaging one hundred and twenty yards a game,
leading the NFL and rushing eleven carries. Just thirty yards
on the day for Derek Henry. I will say this,
though they had Derrick Henry before this touchdown pass. Short
touchdown pass play here, you know, just take it into
the line coming up a little bit short of the score.
And every time I see this guy stand out, you're
reminded just how big this guy is.

Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
Oh yeah, like.

Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
Derrick Henry. And then there's everyone else at that running
back position.

Speaker 3 (01:27:08):
And how does Isaiah likely get open on that corner
route we just saw the Ravens convert for a score. Well,
Dereck Henry is the featured back. So you influence the
defense by sucking linebackers up close to the line of scrimmage.
With number twenty two in your backfield, you fake the handoff.
He dives in there, and number fifty five, who was

(01:27:28):
the cover backer on Isaiah, likely had no chance. He
had his back completely turned to Isaiah as he left
on his corner route, and so it was a pitching
catch that a high schooler could have made at the
NFL level. I mean he was wide open in the
corner of the end zone. So it gets very easy
when you can dominate upfront on the offensive line and

(01:27:48):
in the run game, when you have a competent passer
and Lamar Jackson at least when the game is within
their control, you know, if they're not trailing by too much,
he can make those passes close to the line scrimmage. Now,
if you have a score lead in the second half
or a two score lead in the first half, that's
where the Baltimore Ravens get into trouble when they have
to score fast and you have to rely on Lamar

(01:28:10):
Jackson's arm for an entire half of football. But in
games like this, they can keep things under control and
they can stick it in with the run and work
off of the play action game.

Speaker 2 (01:28:20):
Lamar Jackson's number is pretty good today twelve to twenty
one hundred and eighty four yards, two touchdowns, no picks,
just five carries for fifteen yards. So we're used to
Lamar Jackson getting a little more mileage on the ground,
but this Bengals defensive front really doing a number today
on that Ravens rushing attack Patriots and Dolphins ten to six.

(01:28:40):
Where are we right now as far as the Patriots
season is concerned, to Gobi Perseet today not doing much
of anything ten of eighteen sixty one yards, do you
feel compelled at any point here that you say, let's
see what Drake may has or just pulled up?

Speaker 3 (01:28:57):
So I was saying to you earlier this season, Steve
is a break in the season. So they started out
on the road in Cincinnati. They got that win, but
then at Seahawks, Jets, Niners, Dolphins, Texans. But after that
it loosens up a little bit. Then they host the Jaguars,
then they host the Jets, so you get the Jets
at home, Aaron Rodgers not looking quite right just yet,

(01:29:19):
even though that's a great defense. Then you go on
the road to the Titans, you go on the road
to Chicago, so you have this four game stretch where
you're going against lesser opponents. Maybe after that Houston Texans game,
heading into Jacksonville week, you could see you could see
a chance that Drake may may get his first start,
especially if they continue to lose with Jacobe.

Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
Burssett in at quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:29:43):
Because Patriots fans while we are miles away from the
Tom Brady days and we've already experienced Mac Jones era
and the firing of Bill Belichick, I'd imagine Drown Mayo,
a prideful coach, former player with the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (01:29:58):
Before the Commander's rich They continue to throttle the Cleveland
Browns thirty to six, waiting on that extra point. That
was McNichols their off tackle three yard touchdown run. So
Jayden Daniels and the Commanders well on their way to
a four and one start all alone atop the NFC East.

Speaker 3 (01:30:19):
Yeah, I mean just basically doing whatever they want to
the Cleveland Browns defense at this point. That's what you
call just a duo run where you have a bunch
of double teams up front. Basically you're forcing the safeties
to guess right on where to fill, and McNichols was
able to power forward and fall forward.

Speaker 1 (01:30:38):
For the score.

Speaker 3 (01:30:39):
Extra point is good. Washington leads at home over the
Cleveland Browns a thirty one to six ball game.

Speaker 2 (01:30:45):
There Jayden Daniels thirteen to twenty three, two four yards passing.
He also has seventy seven yards rushing in this game.

Speaker 6 (01:30:51):
Is a forty nine touch forty nine yard touchdown from
Josh Allen to Keon Coleman as well. So that game is.

Speaker 3 (01:30:56):
Awe borda state rookie all of a sudden making some
noise on this Bill's offense. We got a ballgame in Houston, Steve, Yes,
you do, just when I called him out, just like
you drew it up right.

Speaker 1 (01:31:11):
Just I can change any game.

Speaker 10 (01:31:13):
Just like that.

Speaker 3 (01:31:15):
I'm like that it's the Hartman curse or I don't know,
maybe maybe it's to the benefit of these teams. Maybe
start talking worse about the Carolina Panthers because they're telling
by twenty three right now in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
There have been many people over the years, and I've
been on for a long time, decades, and I guarantee
we don't hear a lot from them because they're sitting
right now on their own private island. The way they
have made all that money just betting against everything I've
ever said. I mean, it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:31:44):
We shake you second, Steve if Sterry, over the years.

Speaker 2 (01:31:48):
If you listen to all these years and just bet
against anything I've said, yeah, yeah, you would be sitting
on your own private island.

Speaker 3 (01:31:57):
I you know what this goes to show you how
unintelligent I am, because I've known this for years. I've
literally co hosted I want to send you money, thousands
of hours of radio with you, and I have yet
to bet against you once.

Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
What the hell is wrong with me?

Speaker 2 (01:32:11):
I have no idea, but I'm giving everybody that opportunity
every single week. Colts right now trailing the Jaguars twenty
to ten, Jacks trying to hang on. By the way,
Trevor Lawrence has had a day eighteen of twenty two
two and fifty.

Speaker 1 (01:32:25):
Four yards in a score.

Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
But the Colts right now have a second and ten
at the Jacksonville thirteen yard line. All right, we continue
on now, fourth quarters around the corner. Six games in
the NFL. We'll have all the scores and stats for
you right here. This is Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
As a playfit goes to him there, second gold touchdown,
likely got it and he beat the linebacker.

Speaker 1 (01:32:47):
Wilson and Jess like's that.

Speaker 9 (01:32:49):
Lamar Jackson has led up beautiful drive slicing.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Through the Cincinnati d That's ninety eight Rock Ravens Radio network,
and that is a game. Bengals lead the Ravens twenty
for twenty one, but the Bengals have answered back. They
have a first and goal at the Ravens five yard line.
Joe Burrow has been red hot today, twenty five to
thirty two, two hundred and seventy nine yards and three scores.
So the Bengals won in three at home. They hadn't

(01:33:14):
even won a game at home this year. We'll try
to do that. That game is now heading into the
fourth quarter once again, this is Red Zone Radio. Steve
Hartmin and Rich Ornberger with you. We are live from
the ti iraq dot com studios. The Dolphins have gotten
their third field goals.

Speaker 1 (01:33:30):
So it is ten to nine.

Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
Patriots lead the Dolphins as we head to the fourth
quarter in that game. So really, Rich, we have two blowouts.
The Bears are up thirty to ten over the Panthers
and the Commander's up thirty one to six over the Browns.
The other three games, we've got three three point games
and a one point game, so we're in pretty good shape.
I think to get a couple of exciting finishes in

(01:33:53):
this six game slate to start our Sunday.

Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (01:33:56):
The biggest storylines right now are Jacksonville heading toward potentially
getting their first win of the season and maybe saving
their season. We saw the Bengals lurch out to an
early poor start a season ago, and before the Joe
Burrow injury, it looked like they really were going to
save their season. And then obviously things went downhill after

(01:34:18):
his wrist was injured in a game that required offseason surgery.
And then you look at this other storyline that's emerging,
and it circles around the Cleveland Browns and their quarterback situation.
Losing thirty one to six to Washington. What to do
with Deshaun Watson?

Speaker 2 (01:34:36):
Yeah, what to do with Deshaun Watson because the way
it's going for the Browns right now, I was just
looking up Josh Allen.

Speaker 1 (01:34:42):
We talked about this.

Speaker 2 (01:34:43):
I mean, he's had a rough day throwing the football today,
just nine to twenty two passing, but he has different
ways to beat you, and he just ran off about
twenty yards right there. Bill's trailing the Texans twenty to seven.
This game was twenty to three, and the Bills have
had back to back touchdowns, so they are now.

Speaker 1 (01:35:02):
In Houston territory.

Speaker 2 (01:35:05):
James Cook has had a really good day on the
ground for Buffalo, sixteen carries, seventy five yards and a score,
and he also has a couple of receptions in this game.
But we get back to the idea of when you're
an elite quarterback and you're misfiring, like okay, the passing
gammate working, how else can I find a way to
get our team to a victory? And Josh Allen has

(01:35:28):
that ability with his legs. Just ran twenty yards to
get them into Houston territory.

Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
Yeah, And the offensive line, look, it's almost as if
they were hearing the criticism because over the past two
drives they've done a much better job or really three
drives including this one, done a much better job blocking
for the run, keeping Josh Allen Moore clean. So halftime
adjustments are super important in the NFL. You can get

(01:35:53):
snuck up on, especially with the game plan defensive coordinator
or defensive staff like Tamika rans has in huge hous
They're going to find the stress points. They're going to
make sure to lean on you in the first half
and it's up to you to adjust. And so huge
amount of credit to Joe Brady and his staff on
offense shoring up some of the things that we saw

(01:36:14):
Josh Allen and the Bill struggle with in the first
half because they're answering the call. Here in the second half,
end of the third in Houston, they're still leading. The
Texans are twenty to seventeen, but Buffalo Bill's ball and
they are driving.

Speaker 2 (01:36:29):
Chase Brown on the receiving end of Joe Burrow's fourth
touchdown pass of the day. Thirty one twenty one. Bengals
lead the Ravens just the start of the fourth quarter.
In that game, Joe Burrow is looking like the MVP
I predicted he would be this year. Twenty six to
thirty three, two hundred eighty three yards, four touchdowns and
no picks. Jamar Chase eight catches one hundred and four

(01:36:51):
yards in a score. T Higgins seven catches, sixty three
yards and a couple of scores. This is the Cincinnati
Bengals offense I've been waiting for all season long, and
they're doing it at the perfect time against the division
rival to Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 3 (01:37:06):
I mean, that's the good news. Here's the bad news,
So hold on to your hat. The Bengals they give
up a ton of points.

Speaker 1 (01:37:14):
Yes, their defense is awful.

Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
They are averaging giving up twenty six points per game
through the first four weeks. They're a little bit better
in yards per game, but obviously, this is a game
determined by points, and however many points you get scored
you score, or however many points get scored on you,
those are the outcomes that everybody's taking a look at.
They're in the bottom ten teams in the league in

(01:37:38):
terms of points scored against, and so that's a huge
problem for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ravens. At times
it's felt like they could do whatever they want with
the football. And so even though this is a ten
point game right now and it's since He's ball, trust
me when I tell you, or I should say it's
about to be the Baltimore Ravens ball.

Speaker 1 (01:37:57):
Trust me when I tell you this game is far
from over.

Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
The Jacksonville Jaguars trying to hang on for their first
win of the season, and they have just scored again,
Trevor Lawrence a touchdown pass to Brenton Strange and just
like that, Jacksonville winning on the extra point. Oh, actually,
extra point is good, and Jacksonville leads Indianapolis twenty seven

(01:38:22):
to seventeen. No doubt, Trevor Lawrence has been under fire,
but today he has been tremendous. Twenty three of twenty
seven three hundred thirty two yards, two touchdowns. He did
throw a pick, but you know we've been talking about
I mean, we keep looking back at that twenty twenty
one quarterback draft where you had five quarterbacks in the
first fifteen picks. Four of those five quarterbacks are no

(01:38:45):
longer with their current team. The one guy that is
Trevor Lawrence has been struggling, but today he's looking like
the quarterback that you would expect to.

Speaker 1 (01:38:54):
Be a number one overall pick.

Speaker 3 (01:38:56):
Well, and when you look at Trevor Lawrence and you
see what he's what he's done over the course of
his career, I mean, he's not the problem in Jacksonville.
I understand a season ago he threw a bunch of interceptions,
but again, if you're just looking at the stats, you're
missing the nuance when you look at the games and
the plays, especially a lot of those picks earlier in

(01:39:19):
the season for Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars, it was
in and out of the hands of a lot of
his receivers. I can't tell you how many tipball interceptions
were caused defensively against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But look, the
only person who gets credited with that stat is the quarterback,
and so it is a little bit of hey, you

(01:39:39):
are in some ways who you work with.

Speaker 4 (01:39:41):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:39:42):
Aaron Rodgers made the best or made the most out
of the situation in Green Bay, even though he never
had a first round talent at wide receiver during the
course of his career there, but he was able to
get the job done. So at some point the blame
will shift to Trevor Lawrence, especially after he got that
huge contract this offseason.

Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
The Commanders have scored again, this time on a field goal,
so they now lead Cleveland thirty four to six. And
obviously it's been a horrific day for the Browns offense.
They only have one hundred and twenty three total yards.
Deshaun Watson ten of twenty two for ninety four yards.

(01:40:20):
But a bigger question to me is this, what happened
to the Cleveland defense. We got two and a half
minutes to go in the third quarter and Washington has
over four hundred total yards of offense. They have one
hundred and eighty two on the ground and two hundred
and twenty one through the air.

Speaker 1 (01:40:36):
Hey, did the Colts just score?

Speaker 2 (01:40:38):
Was that?

Speaker 1 (01:40:39):
Was that a touchdown I just saw? Or did that
go income plee? We're going to take a quick look
at the play by all right, I do not see
the Jaguars that just know where to take the ten point? Yeah,
they were playing to replay there. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:40:51):
So Baltimore Ravens, by the way, got the football back
and it looked like Lamar Jackson just tore off an
enormous run again this game being played in Cincinnati, thirty
one twenty one.

Speaker 1 (01:41:03):
But I think they got a holding call against the run.

Speaker 3 (01:41:05):
But this is the play right after that. So Bengals
right now leading by ten, hosting the Baltimore Ravens. But
Lamar Jackson just tore off a huge run out pass
midfield into Cincinnati territory. But then the Baltimore Ravens on
the ensuing play passing play just got called for a hold.
So they're backed up first and twenty from about midfield.

Speaker 2 (01:41:28):
Did you have a holding call at all in your
senior year and your third team apl American senior at
Penn State.

Speaker 1 (01:41:34):
I don't doubt it. I would say I had a
holding call every single season.

Speaker 3 (01:41:41):
I played yes football at the high school level, the
collegiate level at Penn State, and the few teams I
played on.

Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
How many times would you like get called for a
holding call? And you would laugh saying, let me get
this straight. You're gonna call me for holding on that
play and he didn't on the previous play. Well now,
I mean, I mean, okay, yes, sort of hell there,
but you missed a doozy well.

Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
Yeah, on the last drive.

Speaker 3 (01:42:04):
There are times where you are so baffled that an official,
because there are times where you'll make direct eye contact
with an official and be like, I mean, not only
did I hold him, I tackled that guy to the ground.
And then you're like, you're not gonna throw the flag,
And I mean it's almost like a nonverbal agreement, like
not this time.

Speaker 2 (01:42:21):
Well see, I would look at him saying, all right,
so we have an understanding. In other word, it's okay,
I can get away with that. Then you try it again,
You're like, whoa, I thought we had a deal here.

Speaker 1 (01:42:31):
There's a little that we had a little thing going here.

Speaker 3 (01:42:33):
Right. Well, sometimes they'll come up to you and be like, look,
I had to call you for one of these you are,
you need to stop, Like you know, it's almost like
when you're a parent and your kids are going wild.
It's like you knew eventually I was gonna yell at you.
I mean, I mean, this is just absurd. And so
that's what the official jobs. They're playing parent and they
can't let you jump off the top bunk.

Speaker 2 (01:42:53):
All right, let's find out what is a trending right
now in these six games around the National Football League.

Speaker 1 (01:43:00):
How's your fantasy football doing?

Speaker 7 (01:43:02):
Well?

Speaker 1 (01:43:02):
You have Caleb Boyers.

Speaker 8 (01:43:03):
No, I am like the season up and down, up
and some are good, some are bad. It's been a
weird start to the season, you know, so for everybody,
for everybody.

Speaker 7 (01:43:12):
So it's like I'm good and I'm bad. Like I
did play Sam Darnold in the league. In another league,
I have Caleb Williams, and another league I have Josh Allen.

Speaker 8 (01:43:21):
So I have a lot of emotions going on right now.
Let's just say that.

Speaker 7 (01:43:25):
But we'll start with Caleb Williams because he's having a
pretty good game seventeen of twenty five, two hundred and
sixty eight yards, two touchdowns, the Bears having their way
with the Panthers.

Speaker 8 (01:43:34):
It's thirty to ten.

Speaker 7 (01:43:36):
Whole quarter is still left, but it's pretty much been
in Chicago this game. The Ravens and Bengals game has
been back and forth.

Speaker 8 (01:43:42):
The Ravens right.

Speaker 7 (01:43:43):
Now at Cincinnati's nineteen yard line, but the Bengals are
on top thirty one to twenty one early in the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 8 (01:43:48):
Joe Burrow twenty six of thirty three, two hundred and
eighty three.

Speaker 7 (01:43:51):
Yards, four touchdowns, four touchdowns, which is a career high
for him. But let's talk about Derek Henry. He started
things off for the Ravens with the rushing touchdown. That's
his one hundredth career touchdown, by the way, and he
has officially surpassed ten thousand rushing yards.

Speaker 2 (01:44:06):
Yes that ten thousand, one hundred, let's face it. That's
got yeh first ballot Hall.

Speaker 8 (01:44:11):
Yes, absolutely absolutely so.

Speaker 7 (01:44:14):
He still obviously has plenty of game left to get
some more rushing and he might be getting the ball
right now. Okay, moving on the Patriots and the Dolphins.
New England on top barely ten to nine early in
the fourth quarter. All of the Dolphins scores have been
field goals. The Commander is just crushing the Browns is Deshaun.

Speaker 1 (01:44:30):
Watson still in the game.

Speaker 8 (01:44:31):
I don't know why thirty four to six is a
score with one minute to go in the third quarter.

Speaker 7 (01:44:34):
Jayden Daniels fourteen of twenty five two hundred and thirty
eight yards and one touchdown. The Jags trying to get
their first win of the season with Trevor Lawrence doing
what he can twenty three of twenty seven three hundred
and thirty two yards, two touchdowns. The Jaguars are beating
the Colts twenty seven to seventeen halfway through the fourth
and the Bills for a second look like they weren't

(01:44:55):
ready to play. They've come alive in the second half.
The Texans are still on top twenty to seven early
in the fourth quarter. CJ. Stroud twenty one of twenty
seven two hundred and eighty two yards and one touchdown.

Speaker 8 (01:45:06):
For the games still to come, a couple of ins
and outs.

Speaker 7 (01:45:09):
Packers wide receiver Christian Watson and cornerback jay r Alexander
are inactive against the Rams. Rams Betteran cornerback tra Davis
White is a healthy scratch for this game. Forty nine
Ers tight end George Kittle and linebacker Fred Warner are active.
Against the forteen or against the Is it the I
put forty nine ers twice? It's the Cardinals against the Cardinals,
and Max Crosby is active for the Raiders as they

(01:45:31):
take on the Broncos. Last thing here the AP Associated
Press College poll that we talked about yesterday. When we
saw that Alabama lost to Vanderbilt, Well, Alabama dropped to
number seven. The top five all moved around except for
Georgia stayed at number five, Texas backing at number one,
Ohio State two, Oregon three, Penn State four, and Georgia

(01:45:56):
stayed at five.

Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
And Alabama drops drops to seven from one to seven. Correct, Wow, Yes,
that's what happens when you lose to Vanderbilt.

Speaker 1 (01:46:06):
Yeah, yeah, you know, Vanderbilt.

Speaker 8 (01:46:09):
Vanderbilt was all your fault. Remember a stick.

Speaker 1 (01:46:11):
Yeah, I did it. I can do that. You did it.
I can do it. I can do it to anybody.

Speaker 2 (01:46:15):
Touchdown pass Lamar Jackson to Charlie Collor two yards and
the Ravens right back in. This is quite a shootout
game right now. The over was an easy play here.
Apparently the extra point is good. Thirty one eight Bengals
lead nine minutes ago in the fourth.

Speaker 6 (01:46:31):
Quarter, important note from that drive there. Mark Andrews has
been found. He's turned up. He came home. Yes, he's
off the milk cart. And he had two big catches
on that drive there.

Speaker 1 (01:46:40):
He did, he did.

Speaker 6 (01:46:41):
They did not throw it to him in the end
zone though, No, but he he fell down at the
two yard line and tried to get up. I just
couldn't do it.

Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
Yeah, you saw, you saw Mark Jackson's frustration. There's slapping
his helmet, like, why why did you get in? You're
so dumb? Why'd you do that to me?

Speaker 2 (01:46:57):
May By the way, well, we are getting updated from Moncie.
Joe Flacco took off on a run. Yeah, and I'm
watching him and I'm thinking literally a year ago at
this time, he was sitting on the couch.

Speaker 1 (01:47:10):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:47:10):
He had not been signed by the Browns yet, he
was out of football. He was watching these games like
we are on his TV. And then all of a sudden,
he's an a game and he's got to scramble. And
by the way, he actually showed some pretty good speed.
But I gotta imagine when that run was over, you're
a little bit gassed, like you know, it's like because
it's one thing to run. It's another one you're running

(01:47:33):
away from people to want to kill you. Yeah, and
you know then I see him. He's lining up in
the shotgun from the next play, and I'm thinking of myself.
He's got to be saying, okay, breathe, yeah, I gotta
get this play off.

Speaker 1 (01:47:45):
Amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:47:46):
I don't know who had it on their Bingo card today,
but a twenty five yard rush from Joe Flakaw, I
promise you was not on mind. So if B thirty nine,
if that hits on your card, you are the lucky
winner there.

Speaker 1 (01:47:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:48:00):
Joe Flacco is turning in another pretty stellar performance for
the Indianapolis Colts, who absolutely needed a backup quarterback who
could fill in because Anthony Richardson injured again.

Speaker 1 (01:48:12):
He's thirty of forty.

Speaker 3 (01:48:14):
Passing two to twenty five through the air, two touchdowns,
no picks. He's also been sacked three times, so keeping
his composure even though the Jacksonville Jaguars are doing a
good job getting in his kitchen.

Speaker 1 (01:48:25):
He's been hit four times. He's been sacked three times.

Speaker 3 (01:48:28):
As I mentioned, the Jacksonville Jaguars defensively over the course
of a couple of seasons. Now have impressed against the run.
They're getting some tackles for loss. They've forced five negative
plays so far, or should say place for negative yards
for the Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 1 (01:48:45):
But still the culture in this football game. Only trailing
by seven.

Speaker 2 (01:48:49):
All right, the Panthers getting blown out today by the Bears,
as Caleb Williams has had by far the best game
of his rookie season. Bears leading this game thirty to ten.
They were showing David Tepper, the much maligned owner of
the Panthers. By the way, going into this game, thirty
one and sixty three is the Panthers record since Tepper

(01:49:11):
bought this franchise. So I'm watching this guy and he's
sitting by himself, you know, up in the owner's suite.
There's literally no one around him. He's just by himself.
And I'm thinking, all right, you are being panned as
the new worst owner in the NFL. You know, Daniel
Snyder's gone. David Tepper Carolina Panthers worst owner in the league.

Speaker 1 (01:49:32):
This guy's a billionaire. Would you really be bothered being.

Speaker 2 (01:49:36):
A billionaire knowing that no matter how bad your team is,
you're still going to make more money because it's the
safest investment in the world to buy into an NFL
team if you want to make money, you think David
Tepper has really bothered as a billionaire that his team sucks.

Speaker 3 (01:49:51):
If I had to guess, I would say yes, and
I'll answer that question in just a second. But as
Houston was starting to put together a pretty decent and
drive out to the Buffalo thirty three yard line, CJ.
Stroud just got intercept. Ye Bernard came down with it,
and so it's gonna be Bill's ball right there at
their own thirty three yard line, trailing by three, fourth quarter,

(01:50:14):
eight minutes left in this affair, Houston Texans leading twenty
to seventeen.

Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
We have another touchdown for the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Mark
Chase again. Five touchdown passes for Joe Burrow. Hello, MVP.

Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
Hellombra is having a day, and so are his favorite
pass catchers or I should say favorite targets Chase, excuse me, Jamar.

Speaker 1 (01:50:38):
Chase has already caught two touchdowns on the date. Nine catches,
one hundred and seventy four yards for Chase.

Speaker 3 (01:50:43):
Two touchdowns on the day, Chase Brown, He's thrown a
score to him as well. Yeah, three hundred and fifty
three yards five touchdowns for Joe Burrow.

Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
That's MVP Joe Burrow.

Speaker 3 (01:50:56):
I could be right on this, yet MVB most Valuable
Burrow there you can make that argument.

Speaker 1 (01:51:01):
Well it's only one. Well you made the point obviously.

Speaker 2 (01:51:04):
The Bengals better keep scoring because their defense can't stop anybody,
and the Ravens been answering back seemingly every time the
Bengals again. So again, getting back to David Tepper as
he watches his Panthers get embarrassed once again. And by
the way, Jacksonville has just broken up a touchdown run.

Speaker 1 (01:51:21):
Whoa, that is huge. Yeh Bigsby. I think it was
a run. We caught it late.

Speaker 3 (01:51:27):
Bigsby was off the right tackle and he takes it
all the way to the end zone. So we'll get
a replay on this. But Jacksonville right now leading thirty
three to twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:51:38):
Doug Peterson looks pretty happy there, so penning the extra point,
trying to take a fourteen point lead here and looking
for their first win of the season.

Speaker 3 (01:51:49):
How did he get the football? That's the question. We
need the instant replay. But yes, that was an impressive
run after.

Speaker 6 (01:51:56):
You guys know why the Jags are winning this game today, right, Okay,
tell me why those uniforms M stirbacks.

Speaker 1 (01:52:02):
Oh my gosh, Yeah, that's the old logo. Yeah, that's
a good point.

Speaker 6 (01:52:06):
You know what, You know what, you stay with those
debut theres later too, so they might win by fifty Yeah,
the ammer the Broncos, Now America, you know what?

Speaker 10 (01:52:16):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:52:16):
Actually, Steve, if you could say something negative about the Broncos,
so America will not.

Speaker 2 (01:52:21):
I won't because you know I picked up Broncos. I
already gave him the kiss of death by picking them
to be the wild card team or a wildcard team
with a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:52:30):
Yeah, and you've done.

Speaker 2 (01:52:32):
But then they won like well he was awful ast
so he had sixty yards passing, But they won again.

Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
Jets, I mean in two and two and they're very
much in it.

Speaker 3 (01:52:40):
Arguably the worst half of football we as a staff
here at Fox Sports Radio have ever had the displeasure
of not enjoying.

Speaker 1 (01:52:48):
That was as ugly of a game as we can.

Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
If I can recall, in the first half combined Jets
and the Broncos had like sixty total yards total.

Speaker 1 (01:52:58):
There was a combined.

Speaker 3 (01:52:59):
There was a point where I can't remember if it
was Nicks or Rogers, but one of the two starting
quarterbacks had fifteen No, it was Bonnicks. He had fifteen
or sixteen passes for negative seven yard. No.

Speaker 1 (01:53:11):
No, No, I wasn't quite that bad. No, but he
had no he had At one point he had six.

Speaker 2 (01:53:16):
Completion no, seven completions in the game, and nobody had
positive yards received.

Speaker 3 (01:53:22):
That's what I'm saying. They were the negative yards passing
he had. He was like four receivers sixteen and he
had no receiving yards.

Speaker 2 (01:53:28):
Yeah, four receivers had caught passes, three had negative yards,
and the other had zero.

Speaker 1 (01:53:34):
That's when you know you're humming with that Sean Payton offense.

Speaker 3 (01:53:37):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:53:37):
The Jaguars extra boy is good.

Speaker 2 (01:53:40):
Thirty four to twenty now, Jags in control, five minutes
to go in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:53:45):
Are you going to answer my David Tipper question? I
did well, so I did a very short answer.

Speaker 1 (01:53:50):
He's a billionaire who is the laughing stock of the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:53:53):
He does doesn't care, I promise he does care. Now,
don't get me wrong. He's still making plenty of money.
The the the value of his asset is still worth
as much as just about anything you could ask to
own in the world.

Speaker 2 (01:54:06):
Right now, I'm touched down. Dolphins have taken the lead
here Rich, finally in this game. They've been trailing the
entire game, but a short it.

Speaker 3 (01:54:14):
Let's see, who was that alec ingold get in for
the score? Fifteen to ten ballgame in New England. Patriots
succumbing to what felt inevitable even though look, I mean,
Tyler Huntley isn't the answer, and I was gonna say
this about the colt who very intelligently win after Joe

(01:54:35):
Flacco this offseason the Dolphins. Look, you pay to a
tongue of Ilo all that money, What does that just
cure the problem of him being often injured? The answer
is no, you need to have a good backup quarterback
if you're gonna have to a be your starter.

Speaker 2 (01:54:48):
Well, Tyler Huntley was a Pro Bowl I remember that
a couple of years ago when he had like two
touchdown passes fifth altered it to the Pro Bowl.

Speaker 1 (01:54:55):
And Tyler Hunley couldn't win when he was the back
up with Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (01:54:58):
Yeah, it happened constantly with you would get injured, Tyler
hunt we would go in the Baltimore Ravens would lose.
Same thing with Skyler Thompson and the Miami Dolphins. Every
time he's in the game, the Dolphins lose. I'm not
saying it's all his fault.

Speaker 1 (01:55:12):
I'm not saying.

Speaker 3 (01:55:12):
Football comes down to one player, but I'm saying you
do need to target if you have a fragile starting
quarterback a good backup.

Speaker 1 (01:55:21):
And guess what, the Dolphins have two bad ones. All right?

Speaker 2 (01:55:23):
The Dolphins went for two, did not get it, fifteen
to ten. Dolphins lead the Patriots four to twenty four
to go in the fourth quarter. We're coming down the
stretch on games around the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:55:33):
We'll have all the updates for you. This is Red
Zone Radio shows thrown four.

Speaker 2 (01:55:38):
Touchdown passes, the tiest career high throws, a short pass to.

Speaker 1 (01:55:41):
Chase nice blocking on the fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
That's a foot race Tamart to the thirty, the twenty
to ten, the five touch.

Speaker 1 (01:55:53):
Fa seventy yards.

Speaker 2 (01:55:54):
Fuck Bengels Radio Network, What a day for Shoe Burrow
three hundred and fifty three yards passing five touchdowns. Bengals
lean at thirty eight to twenty eight, but the Ravens
have gone right down the field again.

Speaker 3 (01:56:07):
I can't even describe to you what we just saw.
So Lamar Jackson in the shotgun gets the snap, drops
the snap, so he's fumbling around on the ground trying
to pick up the football.

Speaker 1 (01:56:19):
Finally does.

Speaker 3 (01:56:20):
One of the Cincinnati Bengals defensive linemen breaks through the
middle of the offensive formation and tries to tackle him.
He stiff arms his helmet. He loses about ten yards
beyond the behind the line of scrimmage. The same defensive
linemen regroups tries to tackle him again. He stiff arms
him again. He has now floated twenty yards behind the

(01:56:41):
line of scrimmage.

Speaker 1 (01:56:42):
So after the.

Speaker 11 (01:56:43):
Second stiff arm, Lamar Jackson sets his feet and then
starts waving his hand, motioning his hand to one of
his receivers downfield, and then right before he gets smoked
out of bounds, leaving his feet as he throws, he
finds Isaiah Likely for a leaping grab in the back

(01:57:04):
of the end zone between two Cincinnati Bengals defenders.

Speaker 1 (01:57:08):
I mean, this is video game stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:57:10):
Well, Lamar Jackson makes look easy, I promise you is
unfathomably difficult at this level.

Speaker 1 (01:57:18):
That was one of the most amazing plays we've seen.

Speaker 2 (01:57:20):
Game up for grabs, to say the least, thirty eight
thirty five. Now Bengals lead the Ravens. We still got
five plus minutes in this game. Mentioned Joe Burrow five
touchdown passes. Lamar Jackson has four touchdown passes and three
hundred and one yards passing. So, by the way, also
fifty yards in the ground. The MVP raigning MVP looking
every bit that. So a shootout going on in Cincinnati

(01:57:43):
right now between the Bengals and the Ravens. Meanwhile, the
Colts are back in this game against the Jaguars. Jaguars
trying to get their first win of the season. Thirty
four to twenty seven. Now Jaguars lead the Colts and
the Colts have the ball with three and a half
minutes to go. So let's see if Joe Flackham can

(01:58:04):
come up with some answers Flaco.

Speaker 1 (01:58:06):
In this game.

Speaker 2 (01:58:07):
Thirty two of forty two, two hundred and ninety four yards,
two touchdowns and no picks. We've seen some pretty impressive
quarterback play today. Subpar you know, overall, it hasn't been
a great year so far for quarterbacks, but today we
have seen some vintage quarterback play. So we're gonna keep
our eye obviously on that game. Speaking of vintage, Caleb

(01:58:27):
Williams three hundred and four yards passing two touchdowns. The
Bears are about to score again. They have a first
and goal at the Carolina one yard line. Bears lead
that game by a score of thirty to ten.

Speaker 6 (01:58:38):
Yeah, the Bears did score. Roshawn Johnson punched it in
and the Panthers were not happy about that because they
immediately started pushing and shoving their flags everywhere.

Speaker 1 (01:58:45):
Okay, man, that's that fighting spirit. Bills and Texans are
now tied.

Speaker 2 (01:58:50):
So the Bills have come all the way back to
tie this game on a field goal three eighteen to
go in the fourth quarter, and the Texans lead the Bills,
excuse me, tied at twenty. So the Bills and we
talked about it wasn't a great passing day for Josh Allen.
Find other ways to get it done, and the Bills
have come all the way back to tie this game
on the road.

Speaker 3 (01:59:11):
Yeah, it's been an impressive comeback for the Bills because
again in the first half, they were getting trounced by
the Texans. Everything was turning up Houston in the second half.
They've pressed all the right buttons and they found a
way to tie this ballgame with three eighteen remaining.

Speaker 2 (01:59:26):
I mean, if Josh Allen, who is nine of twenty
seven passing, I know, nine of twenty seven passing in
this game, and they're tied, so the again figure out
a way.

Speaker 1 (01:59:37):
That is a sign of a really good quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
All Right, we got some exciting finishes coming up around
the National Football League, which games will go down to
the final play of find out?

Speaker 1 (01:59:47):
By keeping it here, this is Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:59:50):
Joe Flacco in a shotgun formation, play action, good protection, He's.

Speaker 1 (01:59:55):
Got a kill for alf.

Speaker 3 (01:59:56):
Pants, got it thirty, He's in the twenty down the
far sideline, ten five touch down.

Speaker 1 (02:00:02):
Get why I like Pierce with fireworks to the fourth quarter.
He strikes again. HiT's thirty four to thirty three.

Speaker 11 (02:00:11):
And the Cults are one point away from tight the game.

Speaker 2 (02:00:14):
That's the Colts Radio network. They have tied up their
game against Jacksonville. Hang on, folks, we got exciting finishes
around the NFL.

Speaker 1 (02:00:23):
This is Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (02:00:24):
We're broadcasting live from the ti rack dot com studios.
Tyerrac dot Com will help get you there and I'm
Matt selection fast free shipping free road has a protection
over ten thousand recommended installers tirack dot com the way
tire bind should be.

Speaker 1 (02:00:36):
So we have four games right now that literally are
going to go down the wire.

Speaker 2 (02:00:40):
We just had an interception by the Ravens as the
Bengals are driving. Bengals leading the Ravens thirty eight thirty five,
two and a half minutes to go in the fourth
Joe Burrow had been perfect but not on that pass intercepted,
So the Ravens takeover down three to two and a
half minutes to go. Meanwhile, the Patriots are looking looking
at a fourth and ten at the Miami twelve yard line,

(02:01:03):
so they seemingly had a touchdown that was taken off
the board. So Miami's still leading the Patriots fifteen to ten.
There is one minute to go right now, so fourth
and ten for the Patriots at the Miami twelve yard
line to keep their.

Speaker 1 (02:01:19):
Hopes alive in this game.

Speaker 2 (02:01:21):
Colts Jags tied at thirty four bills in Texans tight
at twenty.

Speaker 3 (02:01:25):
Yeah, twenty yards in the Texans under two minutes. C J.
Stroud just threw it out to his running back who
scampered close to the yard they needed for the third
and ten conversion there. Also, they're getting within field goal
range here and there was a petition for a targeting caller,
all right, So this is.

Speaker 1 (02:01:44):
It for the Patriots right now. And there's a flag
and they got.

Speaker 3 (02:01:48):
By the way on the on the Patriots' touchdown reception
that was taken off the board.

Speaker 1 (02:01:54):
Was it Polk? I think it was.

Speaker 3 (02:01:56):
You caught the ball and he only got one foot
in he was ruled out of bounds. And it looks
like Jalen pen right there just got called for a
false start.

Speaker 1 (02:02:07):
Can you believe that?

Speaker 2 (02:02:07):
So a false start moves them back now fourth and
fifteen again, down fifteen to ten, and they can get
a first down. They're at the seventeen yard line without
getting the end zone. So right now, Jacoby Brissett trying
to come up with an answer here to keep the
Patriots hopes alive. Meanwhile, Jacksonville is trying to get into
field goal position to win their game. There's a throw

(02:02:29):
into the end zone. Bodies are falling all over the
place and there are no flags and that is going
to do it.

Speaker 1 (02:02:37):
The Dolphins, who were down early in this game.

Speaker 2 (02:02:39):
They are going to come back to win this game
by a score of fifteen to ten.

Speaker 1 (02:02:45):
All right, so we got two games that are tied.

Speaker 2 (02:02:47):
One of the Jaguars right now are at the Indianapolis
thirty one yard line and they are going to attempt
a field goal to take the lead. There are twenty
seconds left in this game. This is not a chip shot.
This is going to be at least forty eight yards.

Speaker 3 (02:03:05):
Yeah, So not to give me here. Game tied thirty
four all in Jacksonville. Colt's able to come back into
this game forty nine to tenth officially.

Speaker 2 (02:03:13):
And meanwhile, the Texans are also trying to get into
field goal position right now to win this game against
the Bills. Texans, let's rout this game. And now they
are at the Buffalo thirty nine yard line with a third.

Speaker 1 (02:03:26):
Down, So this is gonna be a key flag.

Speaker 6 (02:03:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:03:29):
So, well, we got intentional grounding against CJ. Stroud.

Speaker 3 (02:03:35):
Oh that's brutal, that's a loss of down and everything.
Oh my gosh, talk about the I mean they're within
field goal range. The field goal is good for the Jaguars.

Speaker 2 (02:03:45):
They have taken a thirty seven to thirty four leads
seventeen seconds remaining. So the Jags, who lets rout this game,
look like they're in danger of losing. Don't count on
Joe Flacco, though, the guy that's got magic, he's got
seventeen seconds.

Speaker 3 (02:03:58):
Blacko's elite, right, So now you know what you leave
Joe Flacco seventeen seconds. Okay, you left him too much time.

Speaker 2 (02:04:05):
So all of a sudden, the Texans got taken out
of field goal range with that intentional grounding. They're all
the way back to midfield fourth and fifteen, so they're
gonna have to punt the ball away. And oh, I
don't think Straut didn't get it out of bounce. The
ball bounced in the field he was in the pocket.
That is intentional grounding. I wonder if he understood that rule. No, no,

(02:04:25):
he certainly, Yeah, he certainly did. You have it as
soon as you have you have to get the ball
out of bounce, and it landed on the field while
he was in the pocket. So now the Texans are
going to punt the ball away in a tie game,
forty four seconds to go.

Speaker 1 (02:04:39):
So right now, this one smells like an overtime.

Speaker 3 (02:04:43):
Yeah, this looks like exactly what you're saying, and the
beautiful punt, Yeah, it's going to be down inside the
five yard.

Speaker 2 (02:04:50):
Line the fill right now, do you even take a
chance or you much pretty much run it out and
just say let's go over here.

Speaker 3 (02:04:57):
Here's the problem, the reason why that was such a
beautiful punt is have no choice but to start running
plays here because you can't take a knee when you're
at your own three yard line because you're in danger
of getting a safety. So you got to make rooms there.
So a wonderful job by Houston's punter making this hard
on the Bills because they're gonna have to operate some
form of offense here. Meanwhile, in Cincinnati, we have another

(02:05:20):
tie ball game. No no, Cincinnati's up by three. Oh sorry,
Lamar Jackson right now has got a second and ten.
They are in Cincinnati territory. The Bengals defense has offered
little resistance. What are they doing right, well, wrestling on
the side. So, by the way, so have the Baltimore Ravens,
who are touted as one of the best defenses in

(02:05:41):
the league coming into this into this season, and there
there have been a couple of real lapses by the
Ravens defense so far.

Speaker 1 (02:05:49):
This season. Oh, we got a face mass. Blatant face mass?
Did they call it? It was missed? Oh it was missed.
That is so blatant?

Speaker 2 (02:05:57):
Is a get so third and five right now for
the race evens they missed a face mass called that
would have given an automatic first down.

Speaker 1 (02:06:04):
He was signaling to the officials.

Speaker 3 (02:06:06):
The reason why I was continued wrestling matches because he
wouldn't go down signaling to the refs. Hey, he got
a handful of my face mask. But right now on
the Cincinnati Bengals thirty.

Speaker 2 (02:06:17):
Mark Jackson is angry because I think they just got
called for a delayed game.

Speaker 1 (02:06:23):
Yeah, no, no, they got a timeout in so I
bet that was hardbo there it is. So the Baltimore
Ravens called timeout one forty three left.

Speaker 2 (02:06:31):
Mark Jackson spiked the ball out of anger when they
couldn't get the playoff in time. But apparently they were
able to get the time out to avoid the penalty.
So again just to reset. The Bengals lead the Ravens
thirty eight to thirty five. There's a minute forty three
to go, and the Ravens have a third and six
at the Cincinnati thirty eight yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:06:52):
So Josh Allen and the Bills going for a deep
pass down the sideline and falls in complete. Looking for
Hollands down the sideline line, ball fell and complete at
the fifty yard line.

Speaker 1 (02:07:02):
Allen took a hit in the end zone. Okay, now
what do you do now it's third and ten? You
throw another pass? Yeah, you're punting out of the back
of your end zone with twenty seconds left. So it's
just like I said.

Speaker 3 (02:07:13):
The reason why that plus fifty punt was so great
by the Houston Texans is because you're forcing the Bills
offense to have to get some yard to year and
they haven't been able to.

Speaker 1 (02:07:23):
They haven't moved off the three yard line.

Speaker 2 (02:07:25):
Yet, and Houston has all three of their time outs.
All right, the Colts, right now, here we go. I
got this game on two different pictures.

Speaker 1 (02:07:33):
Right here we go. Okay, so we've got a fourth.

Speaker 3 (02:07:38):
And ten after an incomplete pass by Josh Allen, So
the Bills will be punting out of their own end
zone at.

Speaker 2 (02:07:46):
The back of their end So meanwhile, an incomplete pass
by Lamar Jackson sets up a fourth down right now,
So it's fourth and six. It would be a fifty
five yard field goal attempt to try to tie it.
Of course, you have the all time legend Justin Tucker, who,
by the way, has missed both field goal attempts this
season from fifty plus, the most accurate kicker in the

(02:08:09):
history of the NFL. The kick is up, and wow,
look at that slice jeep he was. It looked like
he had totally hooked it and it just sliced right
down the middle.

Speaker 1 (02:08:22):
He blasted that thing. I was in golf.

Speaker 3 (02:08:25):
He just drew that one back and thirty eight thirty eight.
We have a barn burner in Cincinnati, the Baltimore Ravens
able to tie it up off the foot.

Speaker 1 (02:08:36):
You don't see that Tucker, and.

Speaker 2 (02:08:38):
He came off his foot like he hooked it, and
it just suddenly changed course and ended up splitting the uprights.

Speaker 1 (02:08:45):
I mean, as he was.

Speaker 3 (02:08:47):
Viewing the goalposts, there was a fairly stiff breeze from
left to right because the flags were pinned to the right,
and so he aimed for that left upright and finally
the win hit the football and was able to push
it back in, and so that's good for three points
and good for the tie.

Speaker 1 (02:09:05):
Thirty five left in that game.

Speaker 2 (02:09:06):
By the way, Raiders are Broncos Cardinals at forty nine
ers underway. The Raiders have already scored on a minshoot
of Bronck Bowers. That kid's gonna be a perennial All
Pro Pro Bowl tight end touchdown. Raiders seven to nothing
early on against the Broncos, and Manzi Banos leaps to
her feet in excitement because I'm assuming her tight.

Speaker 1 (02:09:26):
End position or flex position is filled.

Speaker 3 (02:09:28):
By Bowers, and so we have an early score for
her fantasy football team. Meanwhile, this is what started off
as a slow first half across the NFL, only a
six team slate in the early window.

Speaker 1 (02:09:42):
On Sunday, we have what four close finishes?

Speaker 2 (02:09:45):
Five well right now, Well, we have one game that's over,
but we have three others that are very much alive.
We got Ravens Bengals tied at thirty eight. We got
the Bills and Texans tied at twenty, so it is
a final score. The Jaguars get their first winner of
the year. They survive against the Coles thirty seven to
thirty four, three hundred and seventy one yards, passing two

(02:10:06):
touchdowns for Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (02:10:08):
In that game, the Bears blast the Panthers thirty. I
have a fifty nine yard attempt in Houston.

Speaker 3 (02:10:14):
So after the punt with two seconds left on the clock,
a second and five, it doesn't matter. This will be
the last playing regulation and that is hooked. No, it's
coming back.

Speaker 1 (02:10:26):
Fifty nine yard to win it.

Speaker 2 (02:10:28):
The Texans way fifty nine yards. I'm telling you, the
Bills blew this. Why why were they run passing the ball?
They needed to run clock?

Speaker 1 (02:10:39):
Oh my goodness, Wow.

Speaker 2 (02:10:41):
They gained the Texans opportunity fifty nine yard field goal
to win it.

Speaker 3 (02:10:45):
I agree with you, Steve when I said that it
was a beautiful punt and it's going to force the
Bills to run plays. What I meant was, you're gonna
want to run that ball off your goal line right
like tip over time. You get your short yardageourations, your
jumbo sets out there. But fairbairn, pure Kaimi, you see Lee, everybody, kaimi,

(02:11:07):
fairbarn right there, fifty nine right down the middle boom. C. J.
Stroud points to the roof of the building, knowing that
there was a little divine intervention on that one.

Speaker 2 (02:11:17):
Nico Ryans was in a deep crouch watching that one.
Uh and again. For most of this game they were
in control. The Bills came back to tie it. But
in the end, Kaimi Fairburn, he's getting the ride off
on the shoulders of his teammates right now, all right,
So that game is now over. Now we're keeping our
eye on the Bengals and the Ravens. The Bengals takeover.

(02:11:39):
Were tied at thirty eight under a minute ago, fifty
three seconds and the Bengals actually running a play right
now instead of passing. They're trying to get out of
their own territory. So they need about about thirty yards
at least to get into any kind of legitimate territory.
But they are letting the clock run. The Bengals have
three timeouts and there letting the clock run. Rich They

(02:12:03):
got a fourth and eight right now, so they're gonna
let the clock run down to twenty seconds and then
they're gonna punt the ball away. So the Bengals could
not get anything going on that drive, and so they're
gonna punt the ball away with about eight seconds left.

Speaker 3 (02:12:18):
Don't get me wrong, Like I get it. Maybe you're
you're at home, maybe you're playing, you know, overtime is
coming I don't love that.

Speaker 1 (02:12:28):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:12:28):
I mean, you're finishing the game with two timeouts. I
mean you can't take them with you. Sound like you
bring them with you to overtime. They obviously stop the
clock here so they can punt it away and giving
the Ravens what I'm assuming enough time to take himnan
and that this game in overtime.

Speaker 1 (02:12:44):
Yeah, but Kyler Murray just ran fifty yards for a touchdown. Wow,
well there it is.

Speaker 2 (02:12:50):
Yeah, So fifty yard touchdown and the Cardinals taken early
six to nothing.

Speaker 1 (02:12:54):
Lead, winning on the extra point. The x poet is good.

Speaker 2 (02:12:56):
Seven nothing Cardinals on the road against the forty nine
ers runs for fifty Well.

Speaker 1 (02:13:01):
Murray's finally healthy.

Speaker 3 (02:13:02):
And so we've been waiting for Kyler Murray to have
a start of the season like this for years now,
and he's burst onto the sea. I mean we saw
him in that early Bills game. He looked great in
that game. And the Cardinals they look all of a
sudden very dangerous this season.

Speaker 2 (02:13:20):
All right, it officially has gone to overtime. Bengals and
Ravens tied at thirty eight for the latest on that
game and so much more.

Speaker 1 (02:13:28):
This is red zone Radio.

Speaker 6 (02:13:29):
He'll put it down, little kicks it up, and the field.

Speaker 1 (02:13:33):
Goal is gone. He drilled it.

Speaker 3 (02:13:37):
He drilled the forty nine yorder and the Jacks second
thirty seven thirty four lead with seventeen seconds to play
in the ball game.

Speaker 2 (02:13:47):
Jag Wars Radio Network, just one of the many exciting
finishes we've already had today in the NFL. Once again,
this is Red Zone Radio and we're live from the
Tyrack dot Com studios.

Speaker 1 (02:13:57):
All right, we're in overtime right now in Cincinnati. Oh
my gosh, Oh my gosh. Lamar Jackson just fumbled another snap.
And since he has the football and they're out to the.

Speaker 3 (02:14:06):
Baltimore forty three yard line, so Lamar in the fourth
quarter an unlikely connection with Isaiah Likely on a fumbled snap, which.

Speaker 1 (02:14:17):
By the way, was a good snap.

Speaker 3 (02:14:18):
He just dropped it in the fourth quarter, was able
to recover it, scramble the sideline and deliver a perfect
strike to Likely.

Speaker 1 (02:14:25):
This time it happens again and again he just flat
out dropped this.

Speaker 2 (02:14:30):
He got too casual with the ball and it just
went right to his hands. It was a direct snap.
It got away from him and the Bengals recover in
Raven's territory. So right now, the just unbelievable. So since
he was not available, that was a perfect snap since
he and the last one was. He's fumbled out two
snaps in this game. Look, center is a tough position

(02:14:53):
to play, right. I used to play center, Yes, okay,
and you get blamed for a lot as a center.
Anytime there's a fumble snap that they say would you
do yeah, and you have to go to the sum
and be like I did. I did the same thing
I do every single time he snapped the ball thousands
of times in my life. I did nothing differently.

Speaker 3 (02:15:08):
And then they talked to the quarterback and say, yeah,
you didn't get it, you didn't get into my hands.
And then you're like, what how did how did he say? Know,
you feel like you've just been stabbing in the back.
But you know what, that's the starting quarterback. He's always right.

Speaker 1 (02:15:21):
You deal with it.

Speaker 3 (02:15:22):
Twice now twice now Lamar Jackson has gotten hit and
I don't know what he just he just got a
lot casual, you know, with his hands a little bit.

Speaker 1 (02:15:31):
I mean, he just got a lot to think about.

Speaker 3 (02:15:33):
You know, remember two offseasons ago, selling that home gym
you know, and I mean you got, but sometimes you
just got to focus on the moment.

Speaker 1 (02:15:42):
That is unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (02:15:43):
So the second and ten right now for the Bengals,
they are at the thirty eight yard line. Obviously at
this point a field goal on either side ends this game.

Speaker 9 (02:15:53):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (02:15:54):
But Joe Burrow and the Bengals right now have a
time out, so they're taking a time out. Forty two
to go in the overtime. But the Bengals already another
ten yards. They're very much in field goal range to put.

Speaker 1 (02:16:07):
This game away.

Speaker 2 (02:16:08):
Meanwhile, in that Cardinal forty niner game, after Kyler Murray
ran fifty yards for a touchdown, the forty nine ers
answer back and they get a field goal. So seven
to three now Cardinals lead. And the Raiders lead the
Broncos by a score of seven to nothing. We have
a couple of other games they're going to be kicking
off any second.

Speaker 10 (02:16:27):
Now.

Speaker 1 (02:16:28):
We got the Giants on the road against the Seahawks.
It's funny.

Speaker 2 (02:16:31):
Last week the Seahawks in defeat, I think may have
impressed more people than they had in victory. A lot
of people thought the Seahawks were pretenders, but they were
very competitive last week, and then we have the Packers
at the Rams, and the Rams are really up against it.
When you have both Puka Nakua and Cooper Cup out,
when your two wide receivers are out, it makes it

(02:16:53):
very difficult. All right, second and ten for the Bengals
right now at the thirty eight yard line of the
Ravens trying to get into at least field goal position
to win this game, and they're just.

Speaker 1 (02:17:03):
Running the ball. They're not throwing the ball. Clock obviously
is not a factor right now.

Speaker 3 (02:17:07):
So he acted to the Ravens defense, who stuffed that
run after about a short two yard game. So facing
a third and seven Cincinnati Bengals, you're still fifty plus
yards out for a field goal.

Speaker 2 (02:17:19):
So yeah, I know it seems like you know, I
told you going into last week the NFL kickers were
at ninety percent plus from fifty yards.

Speaker 1 (02:17:28):
I know, at ninety percent from fifty yards.

Speaker 3 (02:17:31):
Tracking it this season as well, I'm astonished by how
accurate these kickers have been beyond fifty.

Speaker 1 (02:17:37):
But crazy, it's like fifty is the new thirty. It's well,
we just.

Speaker 2 (02:17:42):
Saw Fairburn just drill it from fifty nine to win
that game for the Texans.

Speaker 1 (02:17:46):
Wow, the Bengals ran it again. What is happening? What
are they doing? Are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (02:17:52):
So you now got fourth down, You're gonna line up
for a fifty two yard field goal?

Speaker 1 (02:17:57):
McPherson. I guess everyone just thinks this is automatic.

Speaker 3 (02:18:02):
I mean, he's got an incredible leg. Let's see fourteen
straight field goal Maine in the fourth quarter or over time.

Speaker 2 (02:18:09):
Not all of them are from fifty plus. This is
going to be a fifty three yard to ten fifty
three yards, but fourteen in a row is pretty good.
So well, yeah, but in the fourth quarter over I mean,
so he's got ice water in First of all, after
a turnover, you got all this momentum going right with you,
and it's like you got Joe Burrow's throwing five touchdown passes.

(02:18:32):
He's got almost four hundred yards passing, and you ran
three straight plays into the middle of the line for
three yards.

Speaker 1 (02:18:40):
Also, does that make any sense?

Speaker 2 (02:18:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:18:43):
Not much. I mean the clock's not a factor.

Speaker 2 (02:18:46):
I mean, it's like, what are we doing here? Why
would you not try to pick up another five yards?

Speaker 1 (02:18:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:18:52):
And also not for nothing, but Zach Taylor, head coach
of the Cincinnati Bengals just called the timeout.

Speaker 1 (02:18:57):
I'm assuming to ice his kicker, McPherson. What's the ice
him to get him as nervous as possible.

Speaker 3 (02:19:02):
Just want to give him a little bit more time
to think about this really really super duper important kick
that is going to vault them into a two and
three record and potentially saved their early season hopes, especially
against a divisional rival in the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 1 (02:19:18):
So let's all right, here we go, star kicker with
a time.

Speaker 2 (02:19:20):
Nothing they have done since recovering that fumble has made
sense unless McPherson makes his field goal and the kick
is up and he hooks it.

Speaker 1 (02:19:28):
Wow, he missed badly.

Speaker 4 (02:19:30):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (02:19:31):
So mcpheer, what did they just do?

Speaker 5 (02:19:33):
That was?

Speaker 1 (02:19:34):
What did I mean? That was so bizarre?

Speaker 2 (02:19:37):
The clock was not a factor. You have the ball
in the thirty eight yard line, first down. Steve Burrow
is like Steve passing it will I figured it out.
Zach Taylor works for the Baltimore raven.

Speaker 1 (02:19:48):
Must oh no, a bad hold?

Speaker 3 (02:19:51):
Yes, another good snap, by the way, the short snapper,
he put it right on the holder and hit him
in the chest and bringing it down it slips out
of his hands and so McPherson should not be blamed.

Speaker 1 (02:20:04):
For this, not at all, not at all. It's amazing
he actually got the kick off.

Speaker 3 (02:20:08):
Jeez, that was incredible that he did get that kickoff,
but the ball was floating in the air as the
holder was trying to readjust it.

Speaker 1 (02:20:16):
I am still baffled by those three plays. I agree
with that.

Speaker 2 (02:20:19):
I mean, three runs up the middle for three yards
and a fifty three yard field goal attempt.

Speaker 1 (02:20:23):
What are you doing?

Speaker 6 (02:20:24):
I thought Steve was gonna say he's baffled by Joe
Burrow's haircut.

Speaker 1 (02:20:27):
Well so, and.

Speaker 2 (02:20:28):
Derek Harry is after the races carry who's gonna run into?

Speaker 1 (02:20:33):
He's the five yard line.

Speaker 2 (02:20:35):
So Derreck Henry is running in and now the Ravens
are a chip shot field goal away of winning this game.

Speaker 1 (02:20:44):
Go home, Ravens game. You're drunk, you're what did the
off do?

Speaker 7 (02:20:49):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (02:20:49):
I did?

Speaker 1 (02:20:49):
Dude? Bengals?

Speaker 3 (02:20:51):
They lost the football game because Derrick Henry just put
the ball all the way at the Bengals five yard line.
Now again, after the first drive, field goal wins it
all right?

Speaker 1 (02:21:03):
Win? You got justin, Tucker. You don't run it. You
don't run another play point it's a twenty two yard
field kick. The football go home, go home.

Speaker 2 (02:21:11):
Yeah, you don't even consider another player, Dereck Henry, who's
struggled for much of the day, but this is how
he works. You give him enough carries and finally he's
going to break one. And that's exactly what he just did.
So Dereck Henry first and goal for the Ravens. Jib
Burrow's on the bench.

Speaker 1 (02:21:28):
Like, what what just happened here?

Speaker 3 (02:21:30):
I don't know, but he's got frosted tips, yeah, you know,
and he's thinking about life.

Speaker 1 (02:21:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:21:35):
Well, the Bengals are about to go oh to three
at home, one in four overall, as Justin Tucker, one
of the greatest kickers in the history of the NFL,
is quickly.

Speaker 1 (02:21:46):
Going to come on to kick a field goal to
end this one.

Speaker 3 (02:21:49):
I still can't believe it. So this is actually, I mean,
it's a good spot to talk about it. Lamar Jackson.
We were talking earlier about how the Chiefs who are
going to play later on are they the Sunday night
football game tonight?

Speaker 1 (02:22:03):
Is that where they are?

Speaker 3 (02:22:04):
The Sunday Night game is tomorrow Monday. So the Chiefs
there four and oh, and the Chiefs. Look, they're clutch, right,
they have a clutch quarterback. Patrick Mahomes has proven himself.
We've got the Just Tucker kick.

Speaker 1 (02:22:17):
Oh he is good, all right.

Speaker 2 (02:22:18):
So Baltimore wins this game forty one to thirty eight,
and there's gonna be some soul searching for the Bengals
after this one.

Speaker 3 (02:22:24):
But but Lamar Jackson they win this game. But he
does things like this in the postseason. How many times
have we watched Lamar have a moment where you're like, oh,
they need this drive and he throws a pick or oh, man,
like you know, the finally the seeds have changed and
the Ravens are it looks like they're gonna finish this

(02:22:47):
half with the lead, and then all of a sudden,
he fumbles, Like Lamar Jackson struggles in moments. I don't
know if it's what you said earlier, Steve to keep
his concentration for a full sixty minute football game plus
overtime this example, or what it is, but there's just
something missing from the makeup.

Speaker 1 (02:23:04):
He's an MVP, He's won it twice. He's an incredible talent.

Speaker 3 (02:23:09):
We saw him on one of those fumbled snaps pick
it up and do something that virtually nobody else on
the planet currently and what there's eight billion people living
on the planet can do. But he's just missing that
gene where he can put together a full game without
making a boneheaded mistake.

Speaker 1 (02:23:27):
All right, let's find out what is trending right now.
That was unbelievable.

Speaker 8 (02:23:34):
That was unbelievable, but it's un of events in a
short amount of time.

Speaker 1 (02:23:38):
Yeah, okay, against you know, I hear.

Speaker 2 (02:23:42):
I got to hear the post game explanation of why
the Bengals ran three balls in the middle of the
line after getting the fumble, right.

Speaker 8 (02:23:50):
You should have just kicked right away.

Speaker 3 (02:23:51):
It almost feels like like, okay, so what the Bills
did backed up against their own goal line is what
the Bengals did, and what the Bengals did or what
the Bills did the Bengals should have done.

Speaker 1 (02:24:02):
Throw the football. What is happening? It's like you have.

Speaker 2 (02:24:06):
Burrow red hot, five touchdowns, four hundred yards.

Speaker 1 (02:24:09):
Throw the football. Throw the football one one first first down.

Speaker 3 (02:24:14):
I mean I wouldn't hate it if they threw it
one time. I mean I would like it more if
they threw it twice.

Speaker 7 (02:24:19):
Raze not throw it at all things up the middle
three different times.

Speaker 8 (02:24:25):
No, yeah, but I give it up to the Ravens.

Speaker 7 (02:24:27):
They win it with that overtime walk off field goal
twenty four yard fielder.

Speaker 8 (02:24:32):
They edge the Bengals forty one to thirty eight.

Speaker 7 (02:24:34):
But football today started in London, fellas, and there is
still an undefeated team and that's the Minnesota Vikings, who
took down the Jets twenty three to seventeen again in London.
Aaron Aaron Rodgers after the game told reporters that he
has a low ankle spring.

Speaker 8 (02:24:48):
He did throw for.

Speaker 7 (02:24:49):
Two hundred and eighteen yards, two touchdowns, three interceptions, one
which was a pick six. Sam Darnold fourteen of thirty one,
one hundred and seventy nine yards and an interception. So
not the type of game you would expect, but again
the so what happens when you go across the pond.

Speaker 8 (02:25:01):
The Jaguars walked it off. They get their first win
of the.

Speaker 7 (02:25:04):
Season, a forty nine yard field goal from Cam Little
to beat the Colts thirty seven to thirty four.

Speaker 8 (02:25:09):
Joe Flacco though for the Colts thirty three to forty four.

Speaker 7 (02:25:11):
Three hundred and fifty nine yards, three touchdowns, Trevor Lawrence
twenty eight of thirty four, three hundred and seventy one
yards and two touchdowns. In this one, the Bears crushed
the Panthers thirty six to ten. Caleb Williams twenty of
twenty nine, three hundred and four yards and two touchdowns.
Bryce Young did come back to the field for the
Panthers late in the fourth quarter, so he made his

(02:25:33):
little return when it was obviously too late. The Texans
walked it off with the fifty nine yard field goal
to beat the Bills twenty three to twenty. And it's
actually Houston survived this one because they only scored six
points in the second half.

Speaker 8 (02:25:46):
You survived. You didn't win it, you survived.

Speaker 7 (02:25:48):
The Dolphins outscored the Patriots fifteen to ten, and the
Commanders they took down the Browns thirty four to thirteen.
Jayden Daniels through for two hundred and thirty eight yards,
one touchdown, one interception in that one. The game's going
on in the after noon. The Raiders Broncos Raiders on
top ten seven. Gardner Minshew connected with Brock Bauers early
in the game, so they're up ten zero late in
the first quarter and.

Speaker 8 (02:26:09):
Then Kyler Murray a fifty yard rushing touchdown for the quarterback.

Speaker 7 (02:26:12):
That's right, Arizona beating the forty nine ers seven to
three early in the first while the Packers in the Rams.
The Giants and the Seahawks officially underway in the first quarter,
but they are scoreless. And in baseball, it's the bottom
of the second inning in Philadelphia, the Phillies and the
Metso are scoreless in Game two of this NLDS.

Speaker 2 (02:26:31):
Back to you, guys, I feel like there have been
as many three hundred yard passing days.

Speaker 1 (02:26:35):
Yeah today, Yeah, then we've had all seasons.

Speaker 2 (02:26:37):
Well, yo, mean, it's one of those days where the
offenses really woke up in a big way.

Speaker 3 (02:26:41):
And it's what I was saying to you earlier in
the season is defenses always gel first. You gotta wait
a little bit for offenses to find their footing, to
find their stride, and we're seeing it across the league.
Speaking of which, Brandon Aiyuk getting some early looks from
Brock Purty in this game against the Cardinals San Francisco
right now, trailing seven to three, Cardinals took an early

(02:27:04):
lead on a fifty yard Kyler Murray scamper. It was
a planned QB run. The San Francisco forty nine ers
have a second and one they handed off to their
running back. Is that Jordan who got that? Well, they
got the first down, that's for sure. Now brock Purty
has thrown two balls on this drive to iuku's at

(02:27:26):
a slow start. He misses all of training camp with
the Holdout, starts off slow with the Niners. Rock Purdy
pretty good quarterback though, because yeah, he's been able to
handle some of their early struggles and he's not the problem.
Brock Purdy's been the answer to a lot of the
well their.

Speaker 2 (02:27:44):
Defense also, I mean the way they coughed up that
game to the Rams a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (02:27:48):
That should never have happened, even though they were without
some of their starts.

Speaker 2 (02:27:51):
By the way, don't forget after this Our podcast is
going up, So if you missed any of today's show,
check out the podcast. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcast, then follow rate and review the
podcast again, just search Fox Sports Radio wherever he gets podcasts.
You'll see the show posted right after we get off
the air. So Raiders leave the Broncos ten to nothing,
it's throwback to nineteen seventy seven. That's the whole thing.

(02:28:13):
So the Broncos first trip to the Super Bowl, which
was a big loss to the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (02:28:19):
By the way, in that game, the Broncos had eight turnovers. Wow, wow, geez.
Have you ever heard of a team didn't. I mean,
that is an all timer. They lost, but that was
the Orange Crush team.

Speaker 4 (02:28:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:28:32):
I like those jerseys, by the way, they're sharp. Yeah,
those were the party.

Speaker 3 (02:28:36):
Just got loose on a broken play against the Cardinals,
he was able to scramble for the first down. It
was Jordan Mason who got the first down on that
second one earlier. Jordan Mason. By the way, if you're
gonna have an injured Christian McCaffrey, yeah, and all of
a sudden, you're going geez uh oh, we lost arguably

(02:28:57):
the best player on our team, inarguably one of the
best offensive players in this league. He's got achilles ten
to nightis apparently in both of his ankles. And then Jordan,
he's just Jordan Mason is just on your sideline.

Speaker 2 (02:29:12):
Okay, yeah, go ahead, let me ask this, all right,
So Kyle's father, Mike, Sure, the Denver Broncos with Alex
Gibbs running that offensive line, one of the great offensive
line coaches of all time, they just kept plugging in
new running backs.

Speaker 1 (02:29:26):
Yeah, Terrell Davis, Hall of.

Speaker 2 (02:29:27):
Famer, gets hurt, his career is effectively over, and they
just kept replacing it with one. So I'm just wondering,
is it him or is it the design of the
running offense that is allowing whoever they stick in there
to become an immediately productive running back.

Speaker 1 (02:29:45):
It's a good question. I mean, that was that zone running.

Speaker 2 (02:29:49):
Yeah, used to basically they would just say one cut
and go as far as you can go.

Speaker 3 (02:29:54):
Well, yeah, it's an outside zone they called the they
call it the stretch or the outside zone, where you
I have every single blocker sprinting to an outside gap, right,
and so whatever appears in that gap, whether it's a
defensive lineman stunting into it, a linebacker over the top
of that gap, a safety, you gather up. You gather
up bodies on the run and you just put you

(02:30:17):
just put blockers on people and then you have your
running back make you look right, and so you're absolutely
right with Christian McCaffrey. Now again one of the most
talented and dynamic runners in the league. He's gonna find
a seam. But Jordan Mason, I mean what he's doing,
it's not just scheme based, because he has already forced
thirty eight missed tackles on the season. So even the

(02:30:39):
advanced analytics are suggesting that whoever is pulling the levers
in the front office. And I'll give John Lytch a
ton of credit for this as a general manager, he's
been incredible for the forty nine ers. They're finding diamonds
hidden in the rough. They're also obviously acquiring talent and
hanging onto that talent as they've been able to somehow

(02:31:01):
with the numbers, resign all of their talented players.

Speaker 2 (02:31:04):
All right, Packers at the Rams, no score, Packers have
the ball. Giants now have a first and ten at
the Seahawks eighteen yard line six minutes ago in the
first quarter.

Speaker 1 (02:31:14):
No score in that game. All right, we continue on
and by the way, we got a long way to going.
A very busy day around the NFL. This is red
Zone Radio.

Speaker 3 (02:31:24):
He motions to the right Mitche with play action to
Madison trying to settle on the pocket off his back
foot deep down the middle of the field, Powers jump
ball to thirty five and he takes off down the sideline.

Speaker 1 (02:31:34):
Fifteen ten touchdown. Raiders brought Powers first career.

Speaker 3 (02:31:40):
NFL touchdown is a fifty seven yard jump ball that
he caught, it took off first store.

Speaker 1 (02:31:48):
That's Raider Nation. Radio nine twenty a m.

Speaker 2 (02:31:51):
Raiders lead le Broncos ten to three, already into the
second quarter of that game.

Speaker 1 (02:31:56):
Once again, this is the Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (02:31:57):
Steve Harbin Rich Ornberger with you live the tire Rack
dot Com studios. Want to thank our amazing crew today.
Moncia Couruse just does everything. And by the way, I
think I'm two and zero against her this weekend picks.

Speaker 1 (02:32:10):
By the way, yeah, you guys, I think I'm catching
up on her. It all comes down to the Steelers.
Cal Ravens came through for me. Wow, that was unbelievable. Lorena,
who has been doing the overnights for but six months now,
Lorena do something like that, Vampire Steve, it just where
is the time guard?

Speaker 2 (02:32:29):
Remember when she got that opportunity and she'd been working
with Ben and with the guys.

Speaker 1 (02:32:33):
So Loreena, it's great to see you this weekend.

Speaker 6 (02:32:37):
Steve.

Speaker 1 (02:32:38):
We never see her. She never writes, never never, Well,
you guys had never met before. I never realized.

Speaker 3 (02:32:43):
Well, that's what I'm saying. I've heard her voice before,
I've heard about her, never once met, and she's never
even made that for it.

Speaker 8 (02:32:52):
I didn't know you existed.

Speaker 2 (02:32:54):
I gave her the whole background story that she didn't
share with you. So you know what I have to
say about you all.

Speaker 1 (02:32:59):
The time, Loraina is great to see you.

Speaker 2 (02:33:02):
And the cours bo who's the number one Rams fan
apparently looking for the Rams trying to tie up this
game right now.

Speaker 6 (02:33:09):
And you know what's crazy though, with all this football
going on, you guys, what's that the Mets have a
two oz elite on the Phillies right now?

Speaker 1 (02:33:16):
Wow, the Mets ready to sweep out the Phillies.

Speaker 2 (02:33:19):
You know, people forget last year the World Series was
between the five seed in the American League Texas and
the sixth seed in the National League Arizona.

Speaker 1 (02:33:29):
So those are both teams. All those teams started in
the wild Card with.

Speaker 3 (02:33:33):
No home no home field in the NLUB made it
to the World Series in the NLCS. This is this
is true because I went I searched it at one
point while they were playing it was the Phillies, right
was in the Championship Series against the Diamondbacks.

Speaker 12 (02:33:46):
I believe they were Okay, So I've searched up ticket prices,
you know, if you want to buy day of the
game tickets to go see the Diamondbacks hosting the Phillies
in the NLCS, they were twenty dollars.

Speaker 1 (02:34:00):
Yeah, I mean, like it was.

Speaker 3 (02:34:03):
It was such an unlikely situation that the Diamondbacks were
going to get that far in the season that they're fans.
I'm not even one hundred percent sure knew they were
in the Championship Series. So yeah, I don't know what
to expect this season. One thing that we've seen is
variety in the MLB postseason. You don't it's momentum. It's
been a momentum league for years and years and years,

(02:34:25):
and so whoever's got the hottest bats or the best
bullpen or the best rotation heading into a series. I mean,
oftentimes fortune favors the streak, the momentum. Well, three out
of five is not a lot, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:34:38):
The weird thing about the wild Card with the two
out of three is all three games potentially are on
the exact same spot, and the higher Seed gets to host,
you know, so they get all the games at home.
But by the way, we got coming up later on tonight,
Cowboys on the road against the Steelers. And it was
interesting last week. Steelers lose to the Colts on the road,

(02:35:00):
but it was Justin Field's best game. In other words,
you know, we you know, the Steelers are three and
zher almost one hundred percent with their defense, but they
were down on the road and he led them back
like this was the best we had seen Justin Field's
play all year.

Speaker 1 (02:35:18):
He's going up against the highest paid.

Speaker 2 (02:35:19):
Player in NFL history, yes, Dak Prescott, whose Cowboys are
winless at home, but two and zero on the road.

Speaker 1 (02:35:29):
How do you break down this matchup tonight?

Speaker 3 (02:35:32):
Last week Justin Fields was twenty two of thirty four
two eight excuse me, three inundred twelve through the air
with a touchdown, no picks. He was sacked four times,
and so like you said, he played his best game.
And he wasn't all that well protected either. And so
even in the loss, what you're hoping to see and
there's no moral victories in the NFL. You want to

(02:35:54):
win every game, but you also want to see your
team improve, which I think offensively, they took a forward. Now,
Dallas has a more talented roster overall than the Steelers. However,
if if Dallas does, or excuse me, the Steelers do
what I think they're going to do to Dallas, which
is force the game into Dak's hands. I think if

(02:36:15):
you shut down the run against the Dallas Cowboys and
you force it to be a Dak game a lot
oftentimes he's gonna make a mistake or two that's going
to lead to a ballhawking defense in the Steelers gaining
one or two extra possessions. And with the way Justin
Fields is playing right now, that'll be benefit Steelers. Now,

(02:36:37):
I forgot to look, is this in Dallas or is
this this is in Pittsburgh?

Speaker 1 (02:36:42):
That helps?

Speaker 2 (02:36:42):
But I told you again, Dallas is zero and two
at home, they're two and ohero on the road. Yeah,
Dallas has definitely played better on the road. But remember
the two road wins they have. Remember last week that
that Giants game was as ugly as it gets and
they had the opening win on the road against the Browns.

Speaker 6 (02:36:58):
Oh, it's gonna get called, but Gardner Minshew just threw
a ninety nine yard pick six no like it. It
might get pulled back by.

Speaker 1 (02:37:05):
The there's a flag on the play.

Speaker 3 (02:37:07):
By the way, Patrick's are ten is the is the
corner who picked off Gardner Minshew?

Speaker 1 (02:37:12):
It looks like it is going to be called Minshew
was high fiving people. But but here's the thing.

Speaker 6 (02:37:16):
Patrick's a ten.

Speaker 3 (02:37:18):
Have you guys been watching some of the numbers of
the receivers he's been covering throughout the course of the season.
He I mean, he should be in consideration for MVP
because the Broncos, I'm a huge part of their success
is how well the defense has played.

Speaker 9 (02:37:35):
And he is the.

Speaker 3 (02:37:38):
Touchdown always got a ninety nine yard pick six on
the season.

Speaker 1 (02:37:42):
Let me see this pass here, Minshew was rolling to
his left. That's just a bad pass.

Speaker 6 (02:37:48):
For any interested parties. That doesn't do anything to a
takeaway from Minshe's passing yardage?

Speaker 1 (02:37:52):
Does it?

Speaker 9 (02:37:53):
No?

Speaker 6 (02:37:53):
Ah, dang it?

Speaker 3 (02:37:55):
Why you need him to get negatives?

Speaker 6 (02:37:59):
Minshew could have negative yours. We should institute that rule.

Speaker 1 (02:38:02):
Would that be unbelievable if they take it?

Speaker 3 (02:38:04):
Oh, we should do that. Who do we talk to?
What a lot of people don't know about bo Is
He's actually a part time hit.

Speaker 6 (02:38:09):
Man and son even this is this is the effect
of working with Brian no for two years now is
you're a real sick puppy. Yeah, yeah, it's bad.

Speaker 1 (02:38:19):
You got some bad vices.

Speaker 3 (02:38:20):
Bad All of a sudden, you looked at your hometown
or I should say, your favorite your your Eagles, your
Philadelphia Eagles, and you said no, no, you're.

Speaker 1 (02:38:28):
Dead to me.

Speaker 3 (02:38:29):
And now you're a Rams fan. You've changed, I mean
you really have. It's uh and it's not in a
good way. It's been a metamorphosis that's led you to
evil and I don't like it.

Speaker 1 (02:38:40):
Steve.

Speaker 2 (02:38:41):
I'm looking up most picked six is in the season
and we were witnessed to the obvious.

Speaker 3 (02:38:46):
Jameis Winston. Oh my gosh, he had seven in one year. Yeah, okay,
so that that must have been the thirty interception year.
It was the twenty nineteen season.

Speaker 2 (02:38:57):
Jameis Winston set the NFL record that year where he
threw seven pick sixes in one season, the only guy
ever to do it in one year.

Speaker 1 (02:39:06):
And yes, that's the year.

Speaker 2 (02:39:07):
They had thirty interceptions, thirty three touchdowns, five thousand yards passing.

Speaker 3 (02:39:12):
But he had every game we were doing the show, Yeah,
there's the pick six yeah, when is it coming? Because
we knew it was coming. I mean, I just imagine.
I think he threw more than one in one of
the games as well, because we were talking about how
we got the bonus pick six.

Speaker 1 (02:39:26):
He was incredibly consistent.

Speaker 2 (02:39:28):
I was seven and one. Is the only quarterback in
the history of the NFL. By the way, Peyton Manning,
when you're at six, I.

Speaker 3 (02:39:35):
There's no other human being though that I enjoy hearing
more like when he's miked up than Jamis Winston though.
So anyways, enjoy the football, folks.

Speaker 1 (02:39:44):
Oh keep it here much more on Red Zone Radio.
