Speaker 1 (00:02):
From beginning.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Jonas Knocks, you thought you knew me. You didn't know
anything about me. He's crazier than else.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Wrapped that guy, Jonas Knocks, you heard me, Prat some
darkness is lighting up your speakers to establish an alibi
for the day. From the tirag dot Com Fox Sports
Radio Studios, here's Jonas Knocks.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
So okay, I'll.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Be well, you know, maybe, just maybe I had it
wrong this whole time. I thought, this whole week somebody
was gonna be really up against it in the world

(00:52):
of football, and apparently they are not. We will explain
who that is because it's going down right now here
on Fox Sports Radio. Jonahs not to here on FSR.

(01:36):
was under the impression that, you know, we all need
a wake up call from time to time. You know,
you need somebody to just kind of humble you bring
you back down so you can get back on track.
It's like waking up after going on a bender. You
wake up and you're like, you know what, something's got

(01:57):
to change here. I'm done drinking. I've done with this lifestyle.
I'm tired of waking up at eleven in the morning
on a weekday while everybody else is at work. I've
called in sick again. There's fast food wrappers in the bed.
I go to use the bathroom and it looks like

(02:20):
cleaning fluid coming out because I'm so dehydrated, Like I can't,
like I cannot live this life anymore. Something's got to change.
You need the wake up call. And so you know
what happens. You get on that diet. You start getting
hydrated every day, You're going to the gym, your at
work on time. You are successful and sustainable. Part of

(02:42):
society and something that people could be proud of, or
you could be Alabama, you know, like, just you choose.
Alabama went on a bender last week. That bender was
Vanderbilt and a historic loss, and they got shoot up
and spit out. They had meltdowns after the game, they

(03:03):
had meltdowns during the game. It was a historic loss
for Alabama. You've got everybody going, wait, what happened? This
team just beat Georgia the week before they Classic and
they go out there and they defecate all over themselves
and put that performance on. This is their wake up call.
They're going to change things and they're going to get
their life together. They're holding onto a fourteen to twelve

(03:28):
lead over South Carolina at home right now in South
Carolina is driving with the football coming up on halfway
through the third quarter. I'm not saying that they're going
to lose this game. I'm not saying that they couldn't
rattle off with Kitlin de Boor and this offense a
thirty point fourth quarter and just blow South Carolina out.

(03:49):
But as it stands right now, while we are on
the air, and South Carolina converts on another third down
and now has a first and goal set up there
in Tuscaloosa. Tell from the looks on the people in
attendance there, Yeah, this is not what we were expecting.
We thought for sure coming off last week, Alabama twenty

(04:11):
one and a half point favorites. For sure, they are
going to let everybody know that just because you think
you got us last week doesn't mean you got us
this week. And we are going to set the tone
and we are gonna come in here and we're gonna
go ahead and dismiss the SEC from one of these
also ran programs, because let's be honest here and I
covered South Carolina football, nobody really looks at South Carolina

(04:35):
in the SEC as one of those top notch programs,
great environment, great place to play, loyal fan base, they
are phenomenal. But it's kind of like Vanderbilt, like, eh there,
you know, maybe you know they could surprise you from
time time. For the most part, they don't consider them
one of the top tier elite teams in the conference.

(04:57):
And so you would assume based on what they look
like last week, did Alabama against one of these also
ran nowhere close to top tier programs in the conference.
I believe their former head coach Nick Saban said, easiest
place to play in the SEC. You would assume that
Alabama would respond to that and go, we gotta let

(05:18):
everybody know, man, we gotta let everybody know. We were
just in a college football playoff. We're the only team
that's been able to beat Georgia in three years, the
only one. And we got to let people know that
last week was an aberration and we are really back
and we are Alabama Football. And you know what they
said as they woke up with vomit next to the

(05:41):
bed with a gatorade they didn't even drink because they
forgot about it, and with Del Taco rappers and Wendy's
wrappers rappers and McDonald's rappers and Fuddruckers rappers scattered around
the bed because they forgot that they had ordered at
each place. When they went to go order at the

(06:02):
next one. They said, something's going to change. We are
over this and apparently based on what just happened in
that game in Tuscaloosa. Nope, they're back at the bar
for happy hour and it's not even three yet. As
Alabama is now trailing South Carolina. The game Cocks go
into the end zone. They have an eighteen to fourteen lead.
There was six minutes to go in the third quarter

(06:24):
and Bryan Tanny Stadium is distraught. So you're welcome. It
looks like not only were you hungover last week, that
hangover is going to last a little bit longer here
if this game keeps up. Jonas Knox here on Fox
Sports Radio at the Jonas Knocks on X That is
at the Jonas Knox on x as. We do it
all live from the Tairaq dot Com studios. There's just

(06:45):
some things that you can be entertained by and you
don't want to participate in, Like they just are all right.
So like if you'll go on like Instagram and you'll
like see these reels come up, I mean depending on
your algorithm like that, I'll tell you a lot about
a person. You know, trust me, I've been around people

(07:06):
to where you know they'll go in there the part
where they shows all the videos that will pop up
and they can choose to pick on one, and it's like, oh,
you're into that, okay, all right, I'm telling you were
looking at But like you go on there and it's
like you'll see somebody making a pizza or somebody making food,
and it's like, man, I want to try that. That
looks really like that, that looks great. I want to
try that. And then like you'll watch some things and

(07:29):
you go, yeah, I mean it's entertaining as hell, but
I don't want to try that. It's like bare knuckle fighting,
Like there's this bare knuckle fighting championship stuff that we're
like these guys wear like like tape on their hands
and they're just going out there and throwing smoke and
they're gashing each other up and they look and it's
entertaining as hell. Like I could watch it. I've watched it.

(07:51):
It's really fun and it's really entertaining because it really
separates who's all about it and who isn't. But I
don't want to be a part of that. I got
verniers for Christ's sake, like I've got toilet lids for teeth.
I want no part of bare knuckle fighting, but I'll
watch it. Major League Baseball's playoffs. I don't want my

(08:16):
team involved in it, like I don't want my team
anywhere near it, But damn is it entertaining and I
will watch the hell out of it. I would argue
the MLB playoffs are better than the NBA playoffs from
top to bottom, start to finish. And I don't think
it's close. Like you watched Dodgers Padres last night, You've

(08:37):
got a Game five, a winner take all between the Guardians.
I guess you know whatever, Listen, I mean, look, when
I watch Major League, it's not the Guardians. I'm sorry,
Like I think you know, I mean, you know, Pedro
Serrano and wild Thing. It's just like you know. But again,
we'll call them what they want to be called. That's fine,

(08:57):
but I want you know it's game five and it
is literally edge of your seat the entire time. That's
a miserable life, like I've talked about it.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Four.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
I guess as a fan, I've seen people age here.
There are Dodger fans all over the Fox Sports radio studios.
I've watched them age. I've told the story before. Ryan
Berschinger walked into this place as a bride eyed, wholesome, humble,

(09:28):
happy to be here. Oh no, jolly go lucky, twenty
something year old. The last time I saw him, I
thought he was homeless.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Kaby even Nurmagamedov, says Connor mcgre McGregor.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
That guy he enunciated perfectly. We're talking well educated, the
pride of the eight oh five Camillo, Like we're talking
a great human being to be around. And the last
time I saw him, he looked like Sam Elliott on
those Rob Gronkowski commercials. Like the guy looks like he's

(10:03):
aged two hundred years. Like he went from the next
big thing here at Fox Sports Radio, and he still
has had a marvelous career and he's fantastic, and I
love the guy, but he went from the next big
thing here at Fox Sports Radio, the bright shiny object
in the building, to where after a Dodger playoff game,

(10:24):
the guy looks like he babysat Abe Lincoln. I swear
to god, he is aged. And that's because of that team.
And it's because of all these teams. Like you're a
Tigers fan, a Guardians fan. It is miserable. It's a
miserable life. It's a miserable existence. And I don't want
any part of it. I don't want any part of it.

(10:48):
So I could sit here and enjoy it because it
is top notch. It is the best. Like there's like
you're watching all of a sudden, an O two count
turns to two and two, and it's like every buddy
on the edge of their seat, like you could feel
the nerves in the building. I've said it before, one
of the like the most entertaining places to be are

(11:08):
Wrigley Field and Dodger Stadium. When the Cubs are Dodgers
are trailing late in a playoff game, it's like walking
into a morgue. You're looking referend toe tags like what's
ty wait, got Colton here? All of a sudden, what's
going on?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Guys?

Speaker 2 (11:24):
That's what this system and this format does. So for
anybody out there that wants to see a sport ratcheted
up a notch from the regular season to the postseason,
I'm telling you it's the Major League Baseball Playoffs. We
had a Game five last night that was tremendous, and
we've got a Game five going on right now between
Detroit and Cleveland. And we've got people on this show

(11:47):
who are very interested in the outcome of this of
this game, and depending on how it goes, we may
or may not be on the air by the time
we go off schedule too. At four pm Eastern time,
Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox
at X. That is at the Jonas Knox at X
and you can hang out with us as always on
the iHeartRadio app. So we are going to have the
usuals coming up. Later on, we will have our TGFG

(12:10):
Game of the Week Volume two. We introduced it last week.
We've got it later on this hour. We've also got
another edition of Do You Care? Knox Locks is back
for another week after absolutely screwed, Absolutely screwed last week,
so we will explain why that was. Because I've got
a real gripe on something here, so we will get
into that for you throughout the course of the show.

(12:31):
It's all yours here from the ti Raq dot com studios.
But somebody in the NFL has said, you know what,
enough is enough. Tired of this crap. I don't want
to hear it anymore. I don't care how much I
love the guy, I'm fed up with it. And it's
coming from a surprising source, and that's yours here on
Fox Sports Radio. We don't need to bring Jonas in.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio coming up a little
over ten minutes from now from the Tireraq dot com studios.
It is the return of the TGFG Game of the Week.
We're handing out awards on this show. And then a
lot of you out there think, well, what is this?
Only like those Nickel and dime morning shows, like, you know,
two bros and a couple whatever, only they give out

(13:26):
awards and stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
No, no, no, no, never heard of them.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Stop. We're handing out awards on this show. We're going
to hand another one out here coming up a little
over ten minutes from now here on FSR. Monitoring the
game of note right now in college football, and it's
a game of note and it probably shouldn't be. Alabama
is trailing South Carolina in the third quarter, nineteen to
fourteen at home. This is noteworthy for a couple of reasons.

(13:51):
Number one, they're favored by three touchdowns. Number two, they're Alabama,
and number three, they just lost to Vanderbilt, so you
would assume that they would respond. They have not yet.
They are trailing South Carolina has just punted the ball away,
so maybe Alabama will get it back on track, but

(14:11):
we will keep you up to speed as to how
that goes throughout the course of the show here on
Fox Sports Radio. So Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys running back
who is back for another cup of coffee with Dallas.
He recently told Clarence Hill, who's covered the Cowboys for
a long time, that he's been quote unquote dumbfounded by

(14:32):
his role in the offense. Can't figure it out, not
sure why he's you know, there's the lack of touches
and the lack of it. It's like, just can't figure
it out. Jerry Jones was on one oh five to
three The Fan in Dallas on Friday, and he responded
to those comments from Zeke.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Dumbfounded is an exaggeration in mischaracter committed is It's a
bad description of how he feels about things. We're saving
him and we should be. Rico is an outstanding running back.
He's always had the challenge, mainly, I guess because of
the size of doing the blocking protecting the quarterback. But

(15:16):
his big problem has been one he's had troubles with
injury over his career, and so it'd be madness to
just rely on him for the duration of the season
and in the playoffs, we've got zequal is there. He
will be there because we want to protect him during
this particular time.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
You know what that is. That's Jerry Jones saying, hold
on a second, you didn't know what you were signing
up for. You're like, you don't, what do you mean?
There was clear communicator, clear discover. Listen, and I've said
this before. Don't date a stripper and then get pissed

(15:59):
when she comes home smell like somebody else's cologne. You
kind of knew what you were getting into when this
whole thing went down, Like, hey, just see, you know,
could be brute, could be cool water, could be uh,
you know, Johnny Depp's latest cologne. So we can try

(16:20):
and disguise the fact that you know, his teeth are yellow,
like whatever the point is, but whatever you want to
call it, you knew what the expectations were when you
got here. And so this idea that Zeke is dumbfounded
by it, Jerry Jones like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no no. And so the fact that he's actually calling
out a guy that he loves, saying, no mischaracterization, that's

(16:44):
not the right word. That here's why. And not only
is that a mischaracterization, but the guy struggled with injuries,
and that's why we're doing it this way. Like he's
telling you, no, no, I'm not signing up for this crap.
I'm not having this back and forth. This is the
reality of the situation, and it is a situation and
a reality that you knew when you sign back up here.

(17:06):
There are no surprises. This was fully explained in writing
in the details. We let it be known. We had
the conversation just so you know, this is what life
is going to be like if you choose to be
with me. And so when Ezekiel Elliott comes out and says, well,
I don't get it, I don't, Jerry's saying, no, no,
you do get it. You knew that, So let's stop

(17:27):
playing this game. What it also tells you is what's
been pretty obvious when it comes to the Cowboys all
year long. This team will go as far as Dak
Prescott takes it. Period. They don't run the ball, they
just don't. They're one of the worst rushing teams in

(17:47):
the league. Like that's just not who they are anymore.
This isn't twenty sixteen. This isn't any of these other years,
whether it was DeMarco Murray or any of these other
backs that have been here, and they're going to No,
it's not even last year. They don't run the ball
at all. And so Jerry Jones is basically saying, yeah, Zeke,

(18:10):
enough with that. This isn't how this conversation went when
we started it. This is what you knew what life
was going to be like. And life is like this
because we are operated and we are run through our
quarterback and our passing game. That's where this is going.
Like you just look at the numbers, like and this
isn't even a contract thing. This is just who they

(18:31):
are as an offense. This is all about whether or
not they can get to where they need to get to.
And if they do so, it's gonna be because of
Dak Prescott, not the running game. The running game is
almost nonexistent, and you'll rely on them in short yard
of situations you're rely But all of this is about
Dak Prescott and that receiving corps and that offense being

(18:54):
able to throw the ball. That's how they're gonna win games.
Like and if you're defense is not producing to the
level that they have been in the past. You're gonna
need to win shootouts and that's where the criticism and
conversation becomes of Dak Prescott. Can he bring you to
where you need to go? But we're gonna find out,

(19:15):
and they're telling you, and they're telling Zeke and they're
telling anybody else that will listen. Hey, just so you're aware,
don't worry so much about the run. We're relying on
Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb and the rest of that
offense to get us to where we need to go.
This is a throwing team. The days of them running
the football are long gone. Jonas Knox here on Fox
Sports Radio. By the way, football fans, be sure to

(19:38):
tune in to Fox Sports Radio every Sunday morning beginning
at ten am Eastern time seven am Pacific for Countdown
to Kickoff presented by Bett mgm, Brian No, Jeff Schwartz,
and professional better Bill Krackenberger. Will have you covered three
hours before kickoff. Every Sunday morning, listen to Countdown to

(19:58):
Kickoff presented by Bett mgm, or right here on Fox
Sports Radio and also on the iHeartRadio app. So coming up,
we are going to hand out an award here on
this show. It is our TGFG Game of the Week,
the second of the season. That'll be yours here on
Fox Sports Radio. But for all the latest from around
the world of sports. I mean there's no room left
for awards. There's no room left, is that right? I

(20:21):
mean not with all the awards that you have gathered
through your illustrious career in broadcasting. Can you name one
of them? Can you name one of them? Or five
of them? Because of us? Yeah, there's that one, the
ATP Daniel Island Reporter of the Week award.

Speaker 7 (20:45):
By the way, I wanted to ask you, how are
those classes? I know you're taking body art classes. How
are those going? By the way, what is body art?
Use your body to make art?

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Why don't you just use your hands? Well that's like
a drawing and painting, just use everything.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
But do you smells like someone.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Dan sure does? Well listen, I'll just I have no Uh. Look, man,
I'm not an artist. Although you know what I did
find out? Who did you find it? I'm out of
this section makes you feel good? I probably shouldn't say
this because it makes you feel like a bad dad.
But who cares? I mean it's lessen. No, nobody's listening anyways.

(21:30):
My son is a horrible artist, Like he literally can't
color inside the wye. He's three years old. Here We're like, oh,
he's only three years old. I's like, no, no, no, no.
I remember those days. I remember being in kindergarten trying
to draw and color and be like I ain't got it.
Like whatever you guys got you go ahead, not me,
Like that's just that's not my thing. I'm not good

(21:51):
at it. So I've identified early what he's not good at,
which is drawing and arting. Well, I think we're still
trying to figure out what are you good at? Jonas.
You know what I'm good at. I'm good at looking
the other way when I get sideswiped by you here
on the air. That's what I'm good at. I'm good
at being a professional. You had to try it sometime, Brian.

Speaker 8 (22:10):
I know it.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
I just you know. I know we're going to.

Speaker 7 (22:11):
Talk about college football, and I keep thinking about Brian
Denning Stadium and in Denning Stadium, and I know you've
been there, and you spend time in South Carolina and
spent time at their stadium, and I remember you said
you used to live in South Carolina.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
I did, and you lived.

Speaker 7 (22:23):
If I'm not mistaken, didn't you live in one of
the private boxes in the stadium.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
That is incorrect. I lived in that North Charleston, which
I couldn't figure out why nobody wanted to come over
until somebody told me a few months into being there
that it was like the eighth most dangerous city in
the US.

Speaker 6 (22:38):
No idea.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
You know what I did know? It was five hundred
and sixty five dollars for a one bedroom apartment there,
and that's all I could afford. So between that and
local radio and washing dishes at a restaurant in the mall,
like that's the old way to come up with. Did
it have running water? It did? Sanitation? Yeah, I got
didn't mind it. Like everyone was like, oh god, you
live over there, but who cares? Like there's worse places
to live. Look at that dumpster out back. Can I

(23:00):
tell you a fun story about South Carolina?

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:04):
So first of all, it does involve a dumpster. So
first of all, the the drivers out there are horrendous.
So South Carolina may be winning this game, although they
could be trailing here soon depending on how this drive
goes for Alabama, so they may be winning this game.
I can assure you Alabama drivers are better. You wonder
how I know that, because they can't get worse than
South Carolina drivers. They're terrible. Here's another thing that they did.

(23:27):
So where I did laundry at the community laundry place
by my apartment, you would it's like one of those
things you put in like seventy five cents to do
the wash, fifty cents to do the dry like whatever
the price was. And so you know people over there,
I mean you got there's cheap asses everywhere, and there
were cheap asses there. And I came out one time
and some dude had waited for me to start my

(23:51):
dryer and put his clothes in my clothes to dry
so that he didn't have to pay the seventy five
cents for the dryer. So I came down and happened
to check and there was like about ten minutes left,
and I notice those aren't my socks. That definitely am
my underwear. So you know what I did. Threw them
all in the dumpster, took all his clothes out here.

(24:13):
You yeah, guess what you want to save seventy five cents.
Get your ask to Kmart. Now you're paying five bucks
for new underwears and new new socks. You know what,
the thing was a game.

Speaker 7 (24:21):
It wasn't hard to differentiate what your clothes were compared
to his because you had all the gothic clothes. It
is easy to differentiate. There was no concern about it
getting anything mixed up.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
That is correct. Now that's my depeche Mode shirt. Can
I have that back? Please? Yes? Correct?

Speaker 7 (24:36):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. Sports Radio's version of the Cure.
Jonas Knox, I think you would definitely fit that category. Hey, yeah, here,
let's let's reboot del D here. I think we ran
out of a musical bed here.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
So anyway, thank you for listening to Open Mic Night
with Brian Finley here at the HA Hole.

Speaker 7 (24:53):
No, not at all, not at all. This is JKS.
This is JKS, the most listened to sports talk show
and in America. Right now it is no score Guardians
and Tigers and what's oh there is? Oh my goodness,
they just scored. You're absolutely right? Yeah, one nothing Detroit Tigers.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Let's go Guardians.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
Yeah, I will come in there, Jonas, Yeah, able to
stop me.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
So it's one nothing and the Guardians are trailing.

Speaker 7 (25:19):
This is a game five alds winner goes on to
take on the New York Yankees. And it is the
top of the fifth with the Detroit Tigers bat and
they've got one out and one runner on first. And
this was again was actually moved forward seven hours because
of inclement weather that is expected in Cleveland where they're
playing this game, so they moved it.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Up seven hours. Right now.

Speaker 7 (25:39):
In college football, this after South Carolina they got smashed
in against Ole Miss last week. They are up nineteen
to fourteen into the fourth quarter, second eleven, coming up
with a few minutes in, and there's an interception thrown.
As we're doing this update, Jalen Milroe throws his second
pick in the red zone. Bam gives the ball away

(26:02):
and a speechless look on all at Bryant Dennings Stadium
as the Crimson Tide have given up the football. Nineteen fourteen, twelve,
seventeen to go in South Carolina is leading this game.
Also want to mention here that number ten Clemson has
a forty two to fourteen lead against Taples wake Forest
seven minutes to go in the third quarter. In that one,

(26:23):
number twenty one Missouri thirty eight to three in front
of you, Mass I did not realize they had a
football team, four twenty nine to go in the third quarter.
And Jonas lastly coming up here in about an hour
or so, we've got some marquee matchups. One would involve
number one Texas against number eighteen Oklahoma that's at twelve
thirty Pacific, three thirty eastern ton, number four Penn State

(26:46):
against usc that's at three thirty eastern time, and Stanford
to take on number eleven Notre Dame at three third
Eastern time, And Jonas says, I work it back to you.
I can't remember the guy who works on the show
that you do in the mornings, but doesn't he didn't
he go to Notre Dame or something like that?

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Or oh god, I don't even know. Yeah, I'm not
even familar, Like it's Brody or something. I don't never hear, like,
uh yeah, Brinkley, Yeah, No, I'm not quite sure I'm
gonna go with I guess it's Brody Brandon, maybe Brandon Quinn.
I don't know, are you sure about that? I'll look
up here in the newsroom and I'll get back to you,
all right, You let me know so more from Brian Finley,

(27:20):
and by the way, a full hour of Brian Finley's
comedy coming up. An hour three of this two hour
program is here on fsr oh postgame Bruin Talk Baby,
that's right. By the way, do you want to point
this out? We're gonna have another edition of Do You
Care coming up in about twelve minutes from now. Speaking
of broadcast professionals and great broadcast professionals, the one and

(27:42):
only Petros Papadakus is listening to the show here no
doubt on the Blowtorch and five seventy LA Sports, Petros
will be on the call for Washington State Fresno Stage
coming up at four o'clock four o'clock Pacific, seven o'clock
Eastern time. I am sorry that was louder than I intended. Yeah,
on FS one. So if you want to hear Petros

(28:04):
call the game Washington State Fresno State, I recommend it.
He is tremendous, one of the better broadcasters you can
listen to, one of the better color analysts in any
sport covering college football specifically though Washington State Fresno State
coming up on FS one, and here's how I know
four o'clock seven Eastern time. Here's how I know Petros.

(28:25):
This how I know Petro's is listening because we're mentioning,
you know, like Ezekiel Elliott's talking about you know, like, oh,
I'm dumbfounded by my role with the Cowboys and Jerry
Jones like hold on, Like no, no, that's an exaggeration.
And my comp for that, because I'm a professional, is
that it's like, you know, a guy dating a stripper
and then getting pissed off she smells like somebody else's

(28:48):
cologne when she comes on from work. It's like, well,
you know, whether it's brute or cool water. And I
couldn't think of Johnny Depp's cologne. Petros sent it over
to me, Savage. I believe it's the name of the
alone is Depth, mind out of the Gutter, Sava. I
think it's Savage, might be Savage, but I'm gonna go
Savage is the Johnny Depp cologne. But as I pointed

(29:10):
out earlier, it's a little difficult for me to get past.
You know, the guy's teeth are rotting, okay, Like like
what do you want me?

Speaker 8 (29:20):
Like?

Speaker 2 (29:20):
What am I supposed to do? Like It's like somebody
put mustard in his scope bottle in the morning. It's like, like,
how what am I I'm supposed to get around with that?
Like I like, okay, like do you smell great? But
when you smile, like you know, I'm like trying to
catch a cab. So the point is Savage and Petros
is listening and you can hear Petro's coming up seven

(29:42):
Eastern time, four o'clock Pacific on FS one. All right,
so right now, though, it is time to do what
we do here on the show, and that's be upbeat
and positive and start handing out some awards. We did
it last week. We're about ready to do it this week,
ladies and gentlemen. It is the second installment for twenty
twenty four of our tg FG Game of the Week

(30:04):
and it goes too Falcons and Panthers. That's right, baby,
Falcons Panthers is your tg FG Game of the Week.
Congratulations to all involved. Now I know what you're thinking here,
Why are they catching strays? The Atlanta Falcons just put

(30:25):
on a clinic. Last week. They played they were on
Thursday Night Football. It went into overtime. You got Kirk
Cousins slanging it on Thursday night on Amazon Prime. Even
Al Michaels was entertained at Kirk Kirk Street's dog was
jumping for joy. Well, let's be honest, what's the likelihood
that that's gonna happen two weeks in a row. Probably slim? Okay,

(30:46):
like it's you know, it is what it is, like,
you know, you had a great game last week, but
you know, like maybe you can't expect that sort of
offensive explosion from the Atlanta Falcons yet again, or you
definitely can't expect that off and some explosion from the
Carolina Panthers. They are terrible and whatever anybody thought Andy
dald was gonna give him in his first week when

(31:09):
they went into Vegas and beat the Raiders, which by
the way, that's more of an indictment on the Raiders
than it is Carolina's success, whatever you thought you were
gonna get that was gonna be sustainable. It ain't garbage.
They're terrible. He's trash. They were awful last week against
Chicago and they're probably going to be awful this week
against the Falcons. I just don't anticipate there's going to
be this shootout. This NFC South battle that we're all

(31:31):
going to be talking about. So pretty good slate of games.
It was tough to choose, but congratulations to the Falcons
and the Panthers, the recipient of this week's TGFG Game
of the Week Award, which is thank God for gambling,
because of not for gambling. Nobody's probably watching this piece.

Live tense moments here man Patrick Sweek and I as
diehard Cleveland Guardians fans just really sweating this one out here.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
Jonas, can you remember what Rob g did to the station?
I swear to the maker. What are you saying?

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Patrick Sweek and a diehard Cleveland Guardian fans? I will
go pull that lever right now.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
This one's for you.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
Sweeker's got on a Trevor Bauer Jersey right now, what
do you.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
Mean, you know, as Bernie Fratto would know, you.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
Know, I look at that. I've found how to kill
his mic interesting?

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio by the way,
coming up top of next hour, we'll call it a
little over twelve minutes from now from the tire rack
dot Com studio. This might be the most hilarious part
about a major storyline in the NFL. Like it's like
it is, like you talk about unintentionally funny in the
world of football. We've got it for you here. So

(33:13):
we'll get into that a little over twelve minutes from
now here on FSR. So before we get to another
edition of Do You Care, we do want to let
everybody know the podcast will be going up. So have
you missed any of this show, be sure to check
out the podcast. It'll be posted shortly after we go
off the air. You can search Fox Sports Radio get
it wherever you find your podcast, search Fox Sports Radio.

(33:35):
I will also tweet out a link to it at
the Jonas Knox that is, at the Jonas Knox and
you can find out all of that and any of
the content you miss through out the course of this show.
In the pod right now. Though it is time for this.
I promise you it's time for this. I swart of
got it.

Speaker 6 (33:50):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
DMSR reports.

Speaker 6 (33:57):
Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big story he's
from the last week. But Jonas, the real question is
do you care?

Speaker 2 (34:05):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Patrick Sweet. Gotta find out what the hell people have
been talking about all week.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Pat Well, Jonas, I'm gonna go with this one and
start with this. This one's been pretty much talked about
all week. Do you care that Dodger fans we're seen
throwing items at Urickson Profar in the middle of the game,
and it actually almost incited a referee ruling forfeit for
going on a little too long in the game. Do
you care, Jonas?

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Well, Yeah, that was entertaining. I'm sorry. Like I know,
people are gonna be like court, you can't throw objects
onto the field. Guy's got a glove, can't make the catch,
like you know, I mean, stuff's gonna happen. You gotta
be prepared and ready to go. And I got news
for you. Whatever they did in game two, clearly it worked.
Clearly it worked because the Padres couldn't buy a hit.

(34:52):
Even though you Darvish was brilliant in that game last night,
Padres couldn't buy a hit. So yeah, that one of
the more entertaining series we've seen in a long time.
A lot of fun. And now we get to see
the Dodgers and the Mets in the next round. Jonas
Knox here on Fox Sports Radio, we're going to avoid
the fact that we just saw a huge play of
that baseball game. Chris Prefett, I'm sorry, Grand slam Guardian.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
Do you have any Do you want me to go next? Jonas?
Do you want to go next?

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Ah?

Speaker 4 (35:23):
Yes, do you want me to go next? Man, I'll
just go next. All right, let's talk about let's talk
about something actually like speaking of depressing, let's talk about
Sean Watson. Do you care that on a late fourth
and goal situation last week's game, he reportedly walked off

(35:43):
field and looks like he kind of gave up on
the team.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Yeah, I do care. Well, there was some kind of
misinterpretation as to what was actually happening. I will say
this for Chris prefet's sake, I know that Detroit just
gave up a grand trailing five to one in this game,
just like it was eleven years Okay, but at least
at least she could say this, Well, you don't have
Deshaun Watson, so there is that, all right? So at

(36:07):
least she could say this because while Detroit sitting there
riding high as a legitimate Super Bowl contender with a
guy that his former team didn't want in Jared Goff,
Deshaun Watson's getting two hundred and thirty million dollars guaranteed
for being a weirdo and a subpar quarterback. So there
is that next.

Speaker 4 (36:22):
All right? Well, speaking since we're on Ohio, Ohio State
freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith stated he and Alabama Ryan
Williams are the best wide receivers in college and they
are freshmen. Do you care, dude?

Speaker 2 (36:36):
These guys. Yes, these guys are like seventeen, eighteen years old.
Like at seven, I swear to and I'm not saying
this to be funny. At seventeen, I was working at
Chuck E Cheese. These guys are like some of the
best players in college football, and when they get drafted,
It just tremendous to watch, and it just goes to

(36:58):
show you all of these passing camps and academies that
these guys are going to They've produced star after star
after star. And it's why paying a wide receiver in
the NFL is a little bit dicey now because every
single draft, three or four studs come out seemingly every
year long.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
Next, All right, Jones, do you care that the Buffalo
Bills are reportedly and still at this point monitoring Davante
Adams and all his movements as we wait an inevitable
trade that happens with Adams.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
No, I don't care. Listen, gives it like at some point,
we just got to move on with our lives here. Like,
you know, Davante Adams, it's probably gonna be the Jets.
If it's not the Jets, it's you know, could be
the Saints. But I find it hard to believe he's
gonna go anywhere other than the Jets. They seem to
be the most desperate. You're not how desperate that team is.
They fired their coach after five games, that's how desperate
they are. They seem to be the team most desperate

(37:51):
to get something done. To try and turn around their season.
I think it's gonna be New York Buffalo can kind
of flirt all they want. I don't see it happening next.

Speaker 4 (37:59):
All right, I know you're a big movie buff but
do you care that the newly really released Joker?

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Oh boy?

Speaker 4 (38:07):
Do I hope I said that right has bombed on
reviews and has been a box office disaster? Do you care?
Jones knocks?

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Not really? I don't come. I will ask this question though.
Is this the one with what's his name walk Jomsdale
or whatever?

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (38:25):
What's his name? Like Flagstaff? Oh? Yeah, Joaqum Flagstaff, Albuquerque? Yeah,
Joaqum Tempe, uh whatever? Like whoever did? Guy's a weirdo? Okay,
like like whatever the last name is, Guy's a weirdo.
I've seen him enough at interviews, like he's one of
those method actors. And those guys really pissed me off.
They really really pissed me off because they just try

(38:46):
so hard. Well, I'm in character all the time. Really,
Like it's like Daniel day Lewis, Like Daniel day Lewis, like, well,
I mean, he couldn't stop being Abe Lincoln when he
was playing the role. So even when he was taking
a crap like guys sitting on the toilet and and
what's he doing like massaging his beard, going four score
and said like it's so dumb and they oversell it

(39:07):
and they overplay this crap. He's another one of these examples.
I didn't see the first joker. I don't plan on
seeing this one. And if we're gonna be honest here,
his best role was probably as Mel Gibson's brother in
Signs Okay, when they were chasing aliens around a farm
field and Iowa somewhere next all.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Right, Well, speaking of Signs, Jonas, do you care that
a woman had to call nine to one one because
she was sworn by over one hundred raccoons because she
was feeding some of them over the years at her home.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Jonas, Yeah, I care. First of all, I have to care.
Papa Sweekas sent this over and we appreciate your input
on the show because you make the show better, just
like your son makes the show better. But I'll say this,
raccoons aren't friendly, Okay. It's not like I don't know
what people want, like, oh god, they're so cuddly and

(39:55):
so friendly. Have you seen that show where people raise
like pet orangutans or apes or whatever it is. They've
got like these pet monkeys lying around the house, and like,
oh my god, we're gonna groom them, We're gonna raise them.
And all of a sudden, the monkey turns like five
or six and just takes your trache off. It just
pulls it out and says, all, you know, big fan
of that? You know your left hand there, do you

(40:17):
mind if i've remove that from your arm and let
me just go ahead and dismantle you like your mister
potato head. The whole thing is insane. If you can't
be satisfied, and if you can't be happy with a dog,
then you are a loser. Stop raising these animals, sinking
the ear of their friends. They're not they don't like you.

(40:39):
So it's probably the most entertaining and hilarious part of
this whole story that has played out in the NFL.
We will get into that coming up here in just
a couple of moments from now. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.
You can listen to us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across
the country, no matter where you are making us a

unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road as a protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rac dot com
the way tire buying should be. So I was making
the point earlier in the show that I'm a big

(41:26):
fan of bare knuckle fighting. It's fun to watch, but
like I don't ever want to participate in it ever
at all, for any amount of money, just not. I'm good,
thank you. But it's fun to watch. It's entertaining. You
can watch these bare knuckle fighting championships. I think there's
another event this weekend. Connor McGregor is involved. Like it's
doing well, Like they're putting together good shows. They're entertaining,

(41:49):
like legitimate fighters, whether it be boxers or MMA fighters
are partaking and it's like real, but it's it's brutal,
like it is like full on brutality. I can watch it.
I don't want to participate. Like I love watching the
Major League Baseball Playoffs, but I never want my team
to ever participate. That is a miserable existence as a fan.

(42:09):
Like as a fan, that's one of the worst existences
you could possibly have. And so Chris Prefet, who's a
diehard Detroit Tigers fan, he's got to watch as they
are in a Game five against the Cleveland Guardians. The
Cleveland Guardians have a five to one lead here in

(42:30):
the top of the sixth, but two runners on, two
runners on for Detroit as they are trying to close
the gap on this lead after giving up a Grand
Slam a short time ago. Prefet, at this point, don't
you just hope they get.

Speaker 5 (42:46):
Blown out just so you can get it over with Jonas.
All I'm thinking about right now is I have three
bottles of rum at home. Yeah, but like, no, I
don't want to even want the bit of hope. I
the Grand Slam feels part raw because the lasting memory
I have of a formative and I know that's going
to drop in.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
I know, yeah, a little base hit there go five two.

Speaker 5 (43:10):
My lasting memory of the twenty thirteen ALCS is that
big poppy Grand Slam that is PTSD in a level
I really cannot describe right now. Yeah, well, I think
I want them just blown out. Just lets it's gotta be.

Speaker 2 (43:22):
Tough, you know, sitting there in the studio with diehard
Cleveland fan Patrick Sweeka, who you know, Oh did he
pick up another team? Okay, you know, it just depends
on who it is.

Speaker 5 (43:32):
Like the lack of by the way, the lack of
sympathy for what I'm going through from the so called
Dodgers fans around here disgusting, absolutely dis o.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
They're nauseating, but they're everywhere.

Speaker 5 (43:42):
I mean, it's it's I know, but you would think
after what they went through last night, they'd be like, hey,
I know what you're going through.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
No, no zer a look of sympathy. Here's the problem
here at Fox Sports Radio, Like Dodger fans are also
Lakers fans, and so they've got to lay it on
real thick now because the Lakers are an embarrassment. So
like they have to, like they got to get their
licks and now because once the NBA season starts and
me and MLB's over with you, what are you talking about?

(44:10):
They have Bronnie James. I mean have Bronnie James gw
Okay have follow that, but we will keep you posted
as to what happens in this game here. This is
a big one. We're also monitoring the Alabama South Carolina
game that is in the early slate of games. That's
been the most interesting one just from the standpoint that

(44:30):
Alabama was a heavy favorite and they are struggling up
by just a point with about two minutes left in
that game. They're at Tuscaloosa. So we will again keep
you posting on that one as well too throughout the
course of the show. Now, that does bring up something
kind of and it all kind of intertwines together. We

(44:52):
mentioned that Petros Papadakas, the Great Petros Papadakas, who you
hear during the week on two Pros and a cuple
Jo Everyone Day Morning, also the host of the Petros
and Money Show, which you can hear on the Blowtorch
AM five to seventy LA Sports. Petros was listening earlier
because he's going to be on the call for Fresno
State and Washington State later on another Fox Sports Radio

(45:14):
family member, Eddie Garcia, Fresno State alum. He's actually at
the game and he's sent over a picture of a
tri tip sandwich that he got before the Fresno State game.
Every place is known for something in sports, they've got
some menu item, and apparently the tri tip sandwiches at
Fresno State are fantastic. Watching the South Carolina Alabama game,

(45:37):
it just brings me back to the time that while
I was covering South Carolina, we went to I believe
it's called Dreamland Barbecue in Tuscaloosa, or wasn't in Tuscalousa.
I think we might have been in Birmingham. And because
I'm from California, I just assumed that every barbecue is
the same. And so we get to Dreamland Barbecue in

(45:57):
Alabama as South Carolina is in state playing a bowl game,
and I remember asking the waitress if they had tr
tip literally looked at me like I had just walked
off the Space shuttle, like had no idea what I
was talking about, Literally zero idea what I was talking about, Like,
couldn't even And then you come to find out, Oh,
it's just different in different parts of the country, just
like football matters more and is different in the South

(46:21):
or in the Midwest than it is out West. It's
the same thing out there. So depending on how this
game goes between Alabama and South Carolina, that'll kind of
be depending on what the mood is like at whatever
barbecue plays or bar that you happen to venture into
across the state. Because last week was rough against Vanderbilt,
we're talking historically rough. I mean they basically melted down.

(46:44):
Emotions were shown. This coming off the fact that you
beat Georgia in an all time classic. Nick Saban calls
Vanderbilt like one of the easiest places to play or
the easiest place to play in the SEC. You lose
that game and then you come back the week later
your host South Carolina. Conventional wisdom would be last week
was the wake up call. Seasons not over. Now, you're

(47:08):
going to establish yourself and you're gonna do it at
home the following week against South Carolina. And instead they
find themselves at the two minute warning in the fourth
quarter needing a third down conversion, and they get it,
and they get it and they score. Jalen Milroy on
a third and ten at the two minute warning throws
a thirty four yard touchdown to Grimy Bernard of the

(47:32):
Alabama Crimson Tide. And they have now extended the lead.
It is twenty six nineteen pat attempt pending and we
will keep you posted on this one as well too.
So a lot of things happening, different sports, different leagues,
all of that winding down here as we get into
the final hour of the show here on FSR now,
Like us on Facebook at Facebook dot com. Slash podcast

(47:55):
make that ah boy? Wait he hearn that? Try tip
Sandwich Garcia? What Tony? All right, I don't care, I'm
leaving goodbye. So let's get into what has been the
story that is running up on not only the NFL

(48:16):
but everywhere else, and that is the diaper fire that
is the New York Jets big news earlier this week,
as Woody Johnson goes into Robert Sala's office and said, hey,
come down to my office when you get a set,
goes in there and fires him five games into the season,

(48:38):
and then has security escort him out of the building.

Speaker 6 (48:42):
No, I'm sick and tired, you're fired.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
Get out, and then decides, you know what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna hold a little bit of a media call
to announce the decision. Aaron Rodgers is distraught out about it.
Players on the team were shocked by it. You got
jeff Olbrick, by the way, Hawaii Rainbow Warrior, great jeff Olbrick,
who's now taken over as the head coach for the
New York Jets. You know, he strips Nathaniel Hackett a

(49:07):
play calling duties. Now it's todd that we're five games
into the season. They've got a division game coming up
on Monday Night Football. They're still in the division, like
in the race for the division, like almost dead even
to make the playoffs, and they fire their head coach.
But here's the most comedic part about this whole thing.
The balls on Woody Johnson, who in talking with the

(49:29):
media is asked, Hey, what's the latest with Hasan Reddick
and had this to say, the Sam.

Speaker 8 (49:36):
Get in your car, drive down ninety five and come
to the New York Jets and we can we can
meet you and give you an escort right into the
building and you'll fit right in and you're gonna love
it here, and you're going to feel welcome and you're
going to accomplish great things with us.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
Imagine that, like literally, how is burning to the ground
and somebody yells from inside Hey, come on in air,
check out this new TV we got Yes, sure thing. Uh,
I'll be right there. Dude, who wants to be a
part of that? Like even Hassan Reddick, who, by the way,

(50:18):
maybe his agency fired him, maybe they didn't. Maybe he's
being sued because he might have tried to intimidate a
business partner over a one point six million dollars whatever
that story like, maybe he did. I don't know. But
if I'm a Son Reddick, why the f would you
want to be a part of that. I'll pass. And

(50:39):
Woody Johnson's sitting there like, you know what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna beg and plead for his services. No, that's
not the point, dude. He wants to be paid. That's
why all of this happened. He wants to be paid.
He doesn't like the contract that he had remaining with Philly.
You acquired him. He walked in the building, he took

(51:02):
his physical everything was fine, and then he decided, hold
on a second. If I'm not going to get the contract,
I'm not showing up period. As now, the Jets are
looking around, going we've tried everything else. I know what
we'll do. Right after we fire our head coach, demote
our offensive coordinator, and let everybody assumed that Aaron Rodgers

(51:22):
is the guy to blame. We're gonna go ahead and
beg and plead for Hassan Reddick to come back and play. Yeah,
that's what it was. Yeah, that's what we just needed
Robert solid to be fired. We need a defensive coach
to be fired so that a defensive star could come
join us in our pursuit for playoffs. You know what?

(51:43):
Got it? Like that ought to tell you everything you
need to know about where the franchise is and when
people are talking about you've got these Jets fans that
are talking about, well, you know what you need to do.
You need to go out and get Bill Belichick. What
you think Belichick wants any part of that vomit bucket?

(52:07):
Like he even more so than his son Rettick. Bro
Belichick walked away from Woodie Johnson twenty five years ago
with no intel. What have they done in twenty five
years that would sell him on the job now? Like
like it takes a special kind of owner to run

(52:31):
off Bill Belichick and Bill Parcells. Woody Johnson did it
to both, and those are two of the greatest coaches
in the history of the sport. So this idea that like, well,
you know, who's going to be the one to get
the job? Who wants it? Seriously, it's like the Panthers job,

(52:56):
Like you sign up for that job. It's like, Okay,
I hope I make it through the season, Like I
don't know, like Frank Reich, Matt Ruhle, like okay, we're open,
Like Dave Canalis as upbeat and positive as possible, but
he's got to be like, all right, I don't know.
I don't know, man, Like I don't this guy he's impulsive,
like Woody Johnson's not impulsive, but they're a disaster. So

(53:20):
like this idea that we're talking about, all right, Robert
Salah is gone. Let's vote because because now we'll get
to see if they play well. Jeff Ulbrick's probably going
to get the gig. He is, like, you know, nobody
wants to make the mistake that the Raiders made a
couple of years ago when Rich Pasaccia took over, they
made a run, went to the playoffs. They decided to
move off of him. They bring in Josh McDaniels. They

(53:43):
turn everything over and they've been trying to recover since.
That's why they maintained Antonio Peers because they didn't want
to do that again. So Olbric. If he coaches well
and the Jets play well, he's going to get to
keep the gig. But if he doesn't, who wants it?
And like you got an owner in the midst of
the house burning down telling son Reddick, hey, come on inside. Seriously, no,

(54:09):
I'll leave your shoes on. Who cares about that? Come on, dude,
nobody wants it. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio at
the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on X monitoring
South Carolina Alabama. South Carolina a throw to the end zone.
They are trailing by eight twenty seven to nineteen. They
are in Alabama territory with forty three seconds left. There

(54:31):
is a second and ten throw to the end zone,
ball out of bounds. Even if Alabama wins this game,
a pretty underwhelming performance all things considered, especially coming off
of last week. So we will have the conclusion for
that game and let you know how that plays out
when we come back. Also coming up next here from
the TIRAQ dot Com Studios, I mean, the NFL is

(54:53):
trying to sell you on something. They're trying to make
you believe something. I don't buy it for a second.
It doesn't add it up. We'll explain here on FSR
Jeez Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. So we're going to

(55:13):
get to this story in the NFL that look, they're
going to try and sell you on this all they
want and trying to make you believe and give you
the work. So, oh, you know we care about this
and this isn't They don't. It's all a bunch of crap.
We've got the proof coming up here in just a
couple of moments from now. We do need to update
you on the game of the day thus far in

(55:34):
college football Alabama and South Carolina. Alabama had an eight
point lead. As we went to break, they review a
throat to the end zone. They review it and rule
that South Carolina and the receiver did get his foot inbound,
so they call it a touchdown. South Carolina goes for two,

(55:55):
trailing twenty seven five. They missed the two point conversion.
They then attempt an onside kick seemingly rolls off the
hands of three different Alabama special teams players. South Carolina
recovers the ball in Alabama territory. So South Carolina's got
the ball. Trailing twenty seven to twenty five at Tuscaloosa,

(56:19):
with forty seconds left in no timeouts. They attempt to pass,
gets deflected, picked up by an offensive lineman who runs
it about four yards. They then try another pass attempt,
and then on third and ten, when look, you probably
need or it was probably third and seven, you probably

(56:41):
need about ten yards to get within legitimate field goal range.
But if you get close to that, you know, or
you don't even pick up the first down. You got
an opportunity with thirteen seconds left and they throw deep
off his back foot, intercepted, and Alabama comes up with
the win, a much needed win. But there's gonna be

(57:02):
a lot of question marks. There's going to be a
lot of discussion about exactly what this Alabama team is
because to go from you talk about a roller coaster,
to go from game of the year against Georgia, winning
that game the way that you did. The next week
you go to Vanderbilt and you lay an egg like

(57:23):
they did, and then you come back home with the
assumption being you're going to take care of business. You're
the better team. Last week was an aberration. Don't worry
about it, you know, just a little bit of a
letdown performance. Everything is still there. They come back home
and it was a subpar performance and you can argue
probably should have lost the game and could have lost

(57:44):
the game depending on how South Carolina plays that final sequence.
So not a great look for Alabama. Definitely some work
to do. But and we were kind of throwing this around,
you know, before we were talking on up on game
I was filling in for the guys, talking to e
from Salam and Carrie Rhodes, and there was a lot
of speculation about, Okay, who's going to take over for

(58:06):
Nick Saban Because when you take over and you are
given that task, that's a daunting task, like you're taking
over for the goat, like he's the best ever to
do it. And so the guy afterwards like the expectations
are almost impossible. And so Kaylin de Boor now finds
himself in this situation where everybody was on the kailnd

(58:28):
Boor bandwagon and now they're looking at it going I
don't know, like if that's a Nick Saban led team,
they respond better than that, Like if that's a Nick
Saban led team. They don't lose to Vanderbilt the way
that they do because they didn't he took care of business,
not that he didn't have letdown performances, but they always responded.

(58:50):
I don't even know if you call this a response.
They seemed flat. They seem like South Carolina took the
first shot, fought back, We're leading at points in this game,
and Alabama was lucky to get out of there. And
you could tell by that fan base who look just
being around him, Knowing that fan base like they know
their football, They've got high expectations, as they should. That

(59:12):
was not anywhere close to what they thought. It would be.
So good to get the win. It's all about the W.
But you survived in this game against South Carolina and
not exactly a great performance by Jalen Milroe, who two
weeks ago was the Heisman Trophy front runner, like he
was being talked about, is the Heisman Trophy front runner,
and he did not play well in this game. Alabama survives,

(59:33):
but there's going to be a lot more questions and
we do have answers when it comes to Alabama moving forward.
Jonas Knox here on a Fox Sports radio all right,
So the NFL comes out and they wanted you to
know that they care, all right, like we're serious about
this stuff, all right, things are going to change. We
mean it, We are serious about this stuff concussions because

(59:59):
the NFL in the NFL PA released a joint statement
in regards to Josh Allen saying that proper concussion protocol
was followed in regard to this apparent head injury that
he suffered, and they went on to just list, look,
we reviewed it, we looked into it. Everything's fine. Everything
all on the up and up, good to go. It's like, okay,

(01:00:22):
all right, sure I know what I saw, like you can,
like you know, but I mean, at least he went
into the medical tent, and he went into that and
he went through the we got we got to see
him at least follow through with that. Let me tell
you about something that happened last week that's not getting
any run and any attention and probably should be buried

(01:00:46):
in the early slate of games, and it was a blowout.
Was the Bears Panthers game. In that game, Jakwan Brisker,
a safety for the Bears, put a monster hit on
Tommy Tremble of the Carolina Panthers Tremble was knocked out

(01:01:10):
of the game due to a concussion. I mean almost instantly.
He was knocked out. You can clearly see in watching
the play. This is in the second quarter. You can
clearly see in watching the play that Jakwan Brisker was
dinged so much so players are standing around him, concern

(01:01:31):
all of that. All right, fair comes up, off, goes,
walks off to the sideline. Reportedly no concussion test administered
on the sideline, but clear and obvious, like I could
see it, Like you can watch the game and see it,

(01:01:53):
and I know because I was watching live. I texted
lebar Arrington because it was a big hit and Jakwan
Brisker is a Penn State guy, and I texted him
to hit like, hey, look at this hit, but with
the understanding monster hit. But he's probably going to be
out because you know, he looks like he got a
concussion too. No concussion tests administered on the sideline, and

(01:02:15):
you're probably thinking to yourself, well, you know they've probably
identified him, there's no problem. Well sure, I mean he
went back in the game, played like eighty five percent
of the rest of the snaps on defense, was taken
out the final series, I believe against Carolina, but the
game was already over, so most of the starters came out. Anyways,
you're probably thinking yourself, big deal, who cares? Not a
big deal, except that the next morning he goes in

(01:02:38):
and self reports that he's got concussion symptoms, and wouldn't
you know it, didn't travel with the team to London
and will not be playing tomorrow morning against the Jacksonville
Jaguars because he's got a concussion and he's in protocol.
So why was he allowed to go back in the game?

(01:02:59):
And why was there no test administered on the sideline?
And why was there no weather reporting done on this?
And nobody like was there a test done at halftime?
Was there? Like you could see it in the moment,
Like watch the play over again. Tell me both guys
look great. Tremble was out, Brisker was dinged, clearly dinged.

(01:03:24):
Next day he reports, I've got concussion symptoms. So why
do you go back into the game. And I want
to be clear on some I don't care, Like if
this is the way we're going to do it, it's
all good, Like I'm okay with that, Like I don't
like to be on the outside and tell people how
they need to live their life, Like these are professionals.

(01:03:46):
If you know the risks and you are willing to
take those risks because you want to perform and do
your duty and play your job and play your role,
that's fine. Who am I. It's not my business, just
like it's not my business to ask who's vaccinated. It's
not my business. Like, dude, if people want to live
their life the way they want to live their life.

(01:04:07):
If you know something is risky but you still do it,
that's not my business, not my place to say. That's fine.
You got choices to make, Like I don't have time
to drive by a fast food place and say, hey,
fat ass, put down the waffle fries like I don't
have time. Like if you want to eat them, you

(01:04:28):
know they're not good for you. That's fine. Whatever, do
your thing. Not my business, not my place. They got
other things going on. But like the NFL tries to
tell you all, we care about this, we want this done.
You know, we're concerned about this is like Josh Allen's
getting all the coverage. Josh said, It's like, dude, you
literally had a guy who was obviously dinged on the

(01:04:50):
play in a play that involved a huge hit, huge collision.
The other guy had left the game and never returned
because of a concussion. This player the next morning reported
concussion symptoms, and we're like having this discussion about like, well,
you know, I guess he's just not got to travel

(01:05:11):
with the team to London. No, no, forget about London, Like,
forget about that. Like let's talk about the fact that
he was let back into the game and played majority
of the snaps the rest of the way and nobody
said anything, like nobody did anything. And it's like all right,
Like look, I'm okay. If everybody accepts what football is,

(01:05:34):
all right, it is a collision sport. It's like boxing.
It's like mma, we're talking sanctioned violence, is what it is.
It's like when people try and protect the kick, well,
we got to do something different with the kickoffs, like okay,
or you can just accept the fact that there are
realities to this and people are gonna get hurt. Sorry,
it just is what it is. It's why they can
do it and you and I can't. They're built for

(01:05:58):
it and we're not. No offense vents. But like, don't
pick and choose which player you want to care about
and which one you don't, and which one gets coverage
and which one doesn't. It's like the Tua tongue of
Ilois stuff. In the same season that Tuas suffered those
multiple concussions that everybody was talking about, and by the way,
Brisker for the Bears third concussion in his career, so

(01:06:21):
had three of these. So it's like this is the
first time and then whatever, we'll get him next time. No, no,
like these are three third concussion. It's concerning. But like
when everybody was talking about the first season Tuas suffered
all the concussions and all that stuff, what everyone forgot
to mention is Kenny Pickett also suffered multiple concussions. Nobody
talked about it. It's like, oh, so there's like this

(01:06:43):
pick and shoes what we want to be outraged over
when it comes to injuries and concussions and all this
other stuff. And it's like, all right, look, if we
want to play this game and we just want to
admit and acknowledge it's it's a dangerous game. Let's not
condemn everybody. Then that's fine, But don't tell me that
you're concerned about one when something else also happened and

(01:07:04):
nobody's talking about it. Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports
Radio at the Jonas Knocks on X, that is, at
the Jonas Knocks on X and he can hang out
with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. All right,
So we are going to have another edition of Knox
Locks coming up here shortly. And let me tell you something.
I got a bone to pick, all right, and I
got a bone to pick with somebody in Cincinnati, all right,

(01:07:25):
So we're going to have that discussion here coming up shortly.
But for all the latest from around the world of sports,
make some noise for a man totally outraged, totally outraged
by the Alabama South Carolina result because he had the
game Cocks on the money line, Brian Fedlick. Well, this
guy's always on top. That's what I heard.

Speaker 7 (01:07:41):
Andy, Thank you, And that might be the guy you're
talking about in Cincinnati if I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
We'll get to that. It's a human idiot. That's great,
you know. And by the way, how about the fact
that Andy Furman, who continues to send letters out Eddie
Garcia hates him so much that Andy sent one or
to the studio addressed to Eddie and got a return
to sender, I did you tomorrow. I talked to Furbag

(01:08:09):
last week. He was devastated by it, Like, what do
you expect, dude, guy doesn't want your mail anymore.

Speaker 7 (01:08:13):
Well, he sends everybody mail, and what he sends is
something that you could send through email. What he sends
it doesn't make any sense. It's as if he gets
some sort of satisfaction.

Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
It's newspapers clip.

Speaker 5 (01:08:25):
He sent me a newspaper about the World Cup because
I do the soccer segment with Bernie Fritz, like I
get the New York Times.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
I get the New York Times. Andy, Yes, that is correct.

Speaker 7 (01:08:38):
By the way, Jonas your Jonas your locks that you
talk about some of your picks, I mean they make
me lockjaw, so you know that's what they give me.

Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
You know. So, by the way, with this audience on
the weekends, i'd be careful with that line, or family,
be careful with that line. People will take that run
with it. I'm just letting you know. I mean, I
don't know the business to stay away from the mentions
after a comment like that, I don't know. I keep
it clean here. I am, I am, I know what
you're talking about.

Speaker 7 (01:09:04):
Joeys Hey, I'll tell you what it was clean, but
it was extremely crazy this finish here between number seven
Alabama and South Carolina, where it was twenty seven to
twenty five the final score. Alabama had given up a
touchdown late, then South Carolina misses the two point conversion,
then they get the ball back after the on side kick,

(01:09:24):
only to throw an interception in the end zone, and
it's twenty seven to twenty five. Number seven Alabama prevails.
Number ten Clemson forty nine to fourteen winners against wake Forest.
Kate klub Nick, the Tigers quarterback three hundred and nine
yards passing three touchdowns. Number twenty one Missouri forty five
to three. They just absolutely obliterate UMass one in six

(01:09:48):
on the season. They are one and two at home
coming up right now, we have a few games that
are in our second win to of college football. Number
four Penn State and USC just kicking off now. Scoreless
in the first could be set for number eleven Notre
Dame and Stanford, and that number one Texas versus number
eighteen Oklahoma. The Red River rivalry is second, so way

(01:10:10):
from getting underway. And how about this as we look
at another game that's on Fox Television right now and
actually just wrapped up. It was the usually offensively dormant
Iowa Hawk. Guys, did you see how many points they
put up in this game?

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
Another one? An, they're back forty points. That's usually what
they put up in a whole season.

Speaker 7 (01:10:30):
Yeah, I was back man, Yeah, forty to sixteen win
against Washington. And lastly, Jonas, I know that you're intently
watching this game five Alds, Tigers and Guardians. Well, the
Guardians just scored another run here at the bottom of
the seventh. There's one out runners on first and second,
six to three.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
Why are you doing this? Why am I doing this?

Speaker 7 (01:10:51):
The Tigers scored one run in the sixth and the seventh,
they got it to within two. But you know the Tigers,
like any one of your teams that you follow, the
always find a way to collapse and blow it at
the end.

Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
I mean you see that right across the glass there, Friendly,
that's hate all you want to deal with, nothing but hate.
You want to deal with Hurricane profet. You go right ahead,
that is coming down the lettering in the hurt of
the guy. That's a damn EF five right there. You
don't want to mess with that. They're right away from
the Storm family.

Speaker 7 (01:11:21):
There was nothing more punishing than being a San Diego
sport That's not nice, that's not There's nothing more punishing
than being a Sandygo sportsman where I'm front. The Clippers leave,
the Chargers leave. All you have is the padres And
last night what they did was an abomination. They couldn't
put the bat on the ball. Yeah, so what do

(01:11:42):
I got?

Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Hey? You darbish was great? Though he was, he was great.
Two mistakes, two mistakes and no run support for you, Darvish.
So anybody tries to make jokes about him in elimination games,
not anymore. Man, he was awesome. Derek Scuball's joining him
in about half a second now, Man, That hit by
pitch changed every thing? Bases loaded?

Speaker 1 (01:12:01):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Ramirez?

Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
He hit?

Speaker 2 (01:12:03):
And then so yeah, and then it was downhill from there.
But may whatever get the Lions. It's all right, You'll
be fine. Uh it is uh Jonas Knox here on
Fox Sports Radio, that is, at the Jonas Knocks on
X at the Jonas Knocks on X coming up next
here though, from the Tirerack Dot com Studios. I got
a bone to pick with somebody in the NFL and
unlikely somebody in the NFL. In another edition of Knox

(01:12:24):
Locks right here on FSR, Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Hey,
what happened to the Tigers game? I know what you're
talking about?

Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
So that Clemson Tigers the Missouri Tigers. Yeah, but you know,
at least it's over, man like, now you don't have
to go through the misery of wondering what's gonna happen
with your own different team in a post there's still
a few innings to go. I just don't want to
watch right now. I'm a little uh. I need to
lock in for Knox Locks. Yeah, end of the seventh
in a Game five, the Guardians have a six to

(01:12:56):
three lead over the Detroit Tigers. So that is your
your update on today's Game five in Major League Baseball.
By the way, coming up in a little over twelve
minutes from now, Alex Curry and Carmen Vitali will be
taken over the airwaves. Now here's a fun fact for
you and also a humbling moment here on Fox Sports Radio. So,
like Carmen and Alex, I've never met them before, so

(01:13:20):
this is the first time like I've seen them in studio,
like passing by, and so I thought to myself, like, man,
you know, I'd love to go out and introduce myself
and say hi to Carmen and Alex because you know,
I love the show and they have great energy and
it's a fun listen. I'm like, all right, So I
walk out it shake their hand, Hey, Jonas, nice to
meet you, this and that, and they look at me

(01:13:41):
and go, oh, you're the undercard. Oh yeah. So the
main event will be coming up at four Eastern time,
one o'clock Pacific, And I didn't really know what to
do with that, so I thought it was disrespectful, pretty
distraught over the whole thing. But again, Carmen and Alex
great listen, and they'll be coming up here in a
little over ten minutes from now here from the tirak

(01:14:03):
dot com studios. Just devastating to find out, you know,
you fanboy out for somebody and then they look at
you like a step aside. I'm kidding. They're great, all right.
So reminder, if you've missed any of this show, you
can check out the podcast. It'll be posted up shortly

(01:14:25):
after we go off the air. Search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcast. Be sure to also follow
rate and review it again. Search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcast. You'll see this show posted right
after we get off the air, and I'll tweet out
a link to that as well too at the Jonas Knox.
That is at the Jonas Knox right now, though it
is time for this lock it.

Speaker 6 (01:14:46):
Let's lock it and no Knox loocks Man.

Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
Last week pissed me off, I'll tell you right now.
Piss me off, and let me tell you why, because
I got to deal with those two juice heads during
the week, LaVar Arrington and Brady Quinn, and I got
to deal with them like ridiculing me over how bad
my picks have been all season long. And I'm not
going to accept responsibility for it, because, as I say,

(01:15:12):
and as the Great Pete Prisco says a friend of
Fox Sports Radio, if you're on the right side of it,
it's not your fault that these teams and these players
don't deliver on your behalf. So I felt pretty good
going into last week, had a three and oh week,
started to get everything back on track, and I'm looking
around the slate and I go, you know what, I

(01:15:34):
love the Cowboys plus three, Cowboys plus three against the
Steelers on the road, and yes, it went down to
the wire, and it went till about one in the
morning on the East Coast, but the Cowboys got it done. Look, okay,
feel good about that. You know, I'm not great that
the Jacksonville Jaguars defense decided to let Joe Flacco basically

(01:15:56):
light the place on fire for Indianapolis and nearly lost
that game. But that was a push, you know. I
had Jacksonville minus three. Nice little push there. Here's the
one that really really pissed me off. Ryan Rico. He's
the holder for the Bengals. I had Cincinnati plus two

(01:16:16):
and a half. They go to overtime. Evan McPherson is
lining up a game winning kick and Ryan Rico, the holder,
bobbles the snap and the hold and next thing you know,
he misses the kick. Baltimore gets it back justin Tucker
hits a field goal and they win the game. Not
only that I lose by half a point, I lose

(01:16:37):
by half a point when I should have won outright
because of a hold, which just goes to show you
this season is already not on our side. So a
one one and one week puts US at six eight
and one on the season. But unlike the rest of
these frauds out here that are scared to make picks
again when everything goes south, we're back for more.

Speaker 6 (01:16:58):
Jaguars versus Bes.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
I got the Bears on this one. I'll take the Bears,
and look, they're a point favorite. You just need them
to win. But quietly, in the midst of all the
hype that Jaden Daniels has gotten, Caleb Williams has started
to play better and better and better, and the Bears
have started to find a little bit of identity on offense.
I look at Jacksonville, there's way too many questions and

(01:17:23):
not enough answers. They flew over late because of the
hurricane and the delay there. The Bears have been there
all week. I know Jacksonville has got history on their
side when it comes to playing over in London, but
I look at this spot, I see the way these
two teams have shaped up. Jacksonville has been disappointing all
season long, and the Bears have quietly gotten better and
better and better. And also quietly, that Bears defense one

(01:17:46):
of the best in the NFL. I like Chicago in London,
Commanders and Ravens. This is going to tell you everything
you need to know about the Washington Commanders and Jadeen
Daniels because they are the talk of the NFL. J
Daniels has already got the Rookie of the Year award
wrapped up. They're already found their next great quarterback in
the NFC East. And the Washington Commanders have finally turned

(01:18:08):
the page on the Dan Snyder era and they are
ready to go. And then you got Baltimore, who just
does what Baltimore does. They're gonna run the football, They're
gonna look a little disappointing on offense. Occasionally Lamar Jackson's
gonna make a curious play and then an amazing play,
and somehow, some way they're gonna be in contention at
the end of this whole thing. Baltimore's a six and
a half point favorite. All take the Ravens at home again.

(01:18:32):
I'm willing to take the l here because I think
we're gonna find out a lot more about Washington and
Jayden Daniels in this spot. But I will take the
Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 6 (01:18:40):
Here Lions and Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
So let me get this straight. You think, for one second,
while the Detroit Tigers are losing in a pivotal winner
go home game and Chris purfets on the board, do
you actually think that I would pick against his Detroit
Lions in this spot on the road against the Cowboys.
You bet your ass I would. I'll take the Dallas

(01:19:05):
Cowboys plus three and a half. Now, look coming into
the see you right now. Now, let me tell you something,
all right. I don't like to pick, but for show
entertainment purposes, this pick has to happen, okay, And I
don't need Dallas to win this game, just keep it
within a field goal. Here's what I don't like about it.
I don't like the fact that Detroit's got a red

(01:19:27):
ass and Detroit remembers what happened in the regular season game.
They had the Cowboys pinned marked on the calendar. Is
the team they wanted revenge to get. They've got to
wait all this time to try and get it back.
I think we see a close game, but I like
the home team getting a field goal plus in this spot.
So I'll take the Cowboys plus three and a half.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
