Martin and Veejay open the show reacting to another wild College Football Saturday! The guys give their instant thoughts and analysis following USC once again blowing a 4th quarter lead — this time to Maryland. For the second-straight week, the guys wonder: is Lincoln Riley on the hot seat? Later, Martin and Veejay preview Week 6 of the NFL season, making their way through each of the best matchups of the weekend, and giving their picks and takes on each. Are the Lions still Super Bowl favorite without Hutchinson? Could the Browns be so stubborn about starting Watson because they want to tank for a better draft pick? Why weren't the Chiefs in on Amari Cooper trade talks? Plus, more fun with new editions of "Who Ya Got?" and "Atomic Dogs"!

Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Sometimes VJ, the grass is greener right where you were.
Jumping to the other side could caused you some trouble,
as we have found out today on this college football Saturday.
First of all, Martin Wise, VJ. Husky coming to you
live from the tire rack dot com svidio tire iraq
dot com. Well, if you get there with the unmaxed selection,
fast free shipping, freeroidized protection, and over ten thousand recommend

(00:25):
that this dollars tire iraq dot com. It's the way
the tire buying should be j In the last two weeks,
USC is ozing two. In the last two weeks, USC
has had a fourteen point lead in the second half
and blown both of them. And in the last two
well just this week in particular, that last five minutes

(00:46):
of that game, sitting there with our producer Ian usc
Alum on myself for usc Alum as well, but grad school,
who cares both y'all, both b o ff both y'all
watching his just convulsions and stomach pain as he's saying
out Miller Moss and screaming about the death of Lincoln Riley,
like somebody fired this guy. I tell you what, though,

(01:06):
you know it's a good thing because you actually you're
only four plays away from seven to zero. You're only
four plays away from seven. And I just don't know
what the one play from today will be. Will you
think it'll be the block field goal that was in
return twenty five yards after that? You think it'll be
the drop on fourth down by the running back of
Miller Mass tried to hit him over the middle. They're
trying to get into game winning field goal difftance. Which
play do you think it'll be that? Lincoln Riley says,

(01:28):
this is the one that cough is one in four
in the last five games, had a lead in all
four of them. Yeah. First of all, is always hello.
It up to everybody out there. Fox Sports Radio. Listen
to lamartin Ivisa a fox foot called Saturday Day. A
girl Mary Mack in the building and he and super
producer in the building, Mass with the old face on
two Max. I'll see you girl, listen, not just the

(01:49):
full face. Okay, the braids. Hello, how y'all say it?
Not period? Due to period Sam period the braids?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Okay, period?

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Okay, there we got there. Yeah, is that called beat,
like is it the girls? Yeah, you're like girl, you
are the beat, your beat down your face beat. Okay,
but usually ask for like hair hair' is like, oh
you gotta be down? Like is this like lucky? Like
a like a cool kind of beat. I feel we're
gonna talk doing commercial break.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
You ain't.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I don't think you're going No, damn where the night
going out and partying? No, none of that. You don't
know my life. Yeah, I'm twenty one now I know.
Still you're still like a niece. Anyway, man, you see
today what play marian?

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Who?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Man? I mean pick one? I mean you blow a
lead like this again on the road at Maryland. And
it's coaching, guys, it really is. They have players. They
got guys, They got Jimmy's, Joe's x's and those whatever
you called. They got dudes that dress up and in
the USC football uniform Saturday after Saturday after Saturday. When

(02:52):
you have big leads and you start to blow these leads,
it comes down to systematic decisions and play call. Are
you coaching to win and kick them off the field
and beat the you know what out of them? Are
you coaching not to lose the game? Because Lincoln Riley.
He has a history of coaching not to lose games

(03:12):
and nine times out of ten, and now it's Minnesota
and it's Maryland that's beating this man in college football,
which just should not be happening when you put these
two programs on a football field. It's mind boggling to me.
How I missed last week. Last week, I thought he'd
be fired by Sunday or Monday, because I would have

(03:33):
at this point. And we'll get into a little more
of that, but now I might have just been one
week off, like this guy might have to just really
go because I can't pick a play Martin. I'm watching
how the game's being coached. I'm watching the play calling.
I'm watching who you're putting in the game. When do
you put him in in a game? We were debating
watching the game. Do you take the field go or

(03:53):
do you go for? We all said no, this is
fourth and two, you go for. But it would have
been like a fifty five yard FU. But you don't
try the kicker. The kicker is not that great, he's
not terrible. But do you trust the guy? He's not
a veteran kicker, He's not he is it he doesn't
have a history of game winning and game changing. The
field goals just six minutes in the game prior you
had a field goal block block like it's that stuff

(04:14):
plays in a coach's mind. So I didn't mind them
going for it. But as you watch Maryland start to
mount their comeback, you can see the coaching started to
become tight, and when the coaching becomes tight, the players
become tight. As the captain goes, so does the ship.
As the general leads, so shall the troops followed. This
isn't just sports. This is real life stuff. This is

(04:37):
this is the way that it goes, especially in football,
because there's so many moving pieces Martin on a field
on any given play, it's twenty two guys on a field,
all trying to do one job for the goal of
their eleven. And when you are coaching to play scared.
You don't think those players know those play calls start
to get a little different. You don't think that quarterback
knows that those calls are getting little different than these

(04:58):
games that the defensive the captain on the field is
getting the signals from the defensive coordator. You don't realize
that he's like, okay, Wow, we haven't run this a lot,
but okay, we're not blitzing as much or we're not
doing this as much now, we're kind of playing more
read and react or keep everything in front of you.
To me, that's playing, that's coaching, scared not to lose.
That's what he did today. So to answer your question, Mark,
I can't pick out a play. I'm gonna zone in

(05:20):
on his coaching and how things tightened up and that
affected as players eleven and eleven in the last twenty
two for Lincoln Riley, one and four in Big Ten play.
Remember when us she was saying, look, we're at the
Pac twelve. We're too good for here. We're too good
for this, We're too good for this. You blew up
the five, you blew up the whole landscape of college football,

(05:42):
just to fly to Maryland and Minnesota and get your
ass can get yeah, embarrassed man on national television, Like
these games aren't not seen. There's too many outlets to
watch college football nowadays, and everybody is seeing on a
national scale. You know why this is really good? There's
this thing in our business that I don't believe in,
but it can be a real thing. I'm not sure.
I just don't believe in it. Where the East Coast bias.

(06:05):
It's not East Cote No that I don't believe it.
It's not an East Coast bias. It's just that a
lot of West Coast games for US are played at
ten and ten thirty at night, and if you're the watch,
if you're a nine to five, blue collar working American,
you don't get to see a lot of USC night games.
Are Laker basketball, are the Kings basketball? Or Portland Trail
Blazers basketball, or even Giants San Frazervio Giants baseball. You

(06:26):
don't get to see a lot of stuff. It's not
a bias, it's just we don't get to see you.
But the world, the nation has now seen these PAC
twelve teams that are now playing in the Big Ten
and now are flying across country or playing in the ACC.
They are now starting to see why this conference, in
my opinion, got this Bandit was always just like one
or two teams every year. It's not a conference that

(06:48):
you're afraid of Oregon State for eight straight years. That
what a year or two they'll scare you and then
they'll go right back to five and six or six
and five or seven and four and go to the
Mighty Key Bowl like that. That's just what college football
has been. We're starting to see what USC might really be. Hey,
how good was Caleb Williams because he might have hit
a lot of this over the last two years. Well too,

(07:09):
when you think about Lincoln Riley and his quarterbacks over
the over the span of time, right that, he's had
really really good quarterbacks, all of them now starting in
the NFL Trophy winners, all of them starting getting in
the right now. I know Spencer Rattlers are back up there.
He's to get injury, but he's he's out the burn
he's getting burned. Look, okay, look at you. You gotta

(07:31):
get raps. That's football. You gotta get burned. The Thursday
night was tough, but he didn't have to top two receivers. Yeah, down, shit,
he's down for the year. But and uneven. Yeah, it's
it's ugly and well. The good thing is, you know,
eighty eight million dollars cost to a Bias to buy
fire Lincoln Riley, so it only costs you about one

(07:51):
hundred million to get out. Good luck, they got it. Now,
they got it. Let's go ahead and and transition here
because we are in the first order of what is
one of those games of the century. Georgia and Texas,
two top five teams, two highly touted quarterbacks. Unless you
listen to this show, but two people that you know, goodie,

(08:15):
three of ours. But I get you. I think the
two in Texas is better than the one in Georgia. Yeah,
but you're right, Yeah, but I mean, so you got
that scenario sec Texas. As much as usc has came
into the big Tennis started getting pounded, Texas has came
into the sec hey trap and take over your trap,
I believe, is the phraser. They are putting their feet

(08:37):
up and chilling. Who who do you think ultimately wins
this one? Texas because they're at home. If Georgia was
at home and give them a better shot. Texas office
is just ridiculous win in every game by plus fifteen points,
but their average margin victory has been like thirty six
or thirty five points, like they're blowing teams off the field.
To me, I don't think it's close at this point

(08:57):
because of what I've seen this far up to college football,
Texas is the best team in the nation and I
don't think it's close. I think that some teams can
give them some run. But if you're telling me healthy
are all the main guys of what eight nine weeks
from now, twelve weeks from now when the playoffs start,
I don't who's beating Texas. They would have to lose
their quarterback. Oh yeah, we could just plug in arch Man.

(09:19):
He threw some picks, but he was also tossing three
and four touchdowns and scrambling for sixty yard plus touchdowns
as well. So you have that to deal with with Texas.
They have a top five lineman. They got three lineen
that are gonna go in the first or second round
in the NFL. They got a defensive back that's gonna
be in the top two rounds of drafting. Like they
got NFL guys. They got Sunday guys. And I said
going into this season they were kind of my enigma

(09:40):
team where they were either gonna be just dominant or
they were gonna fall off the map. And they have
been just dominant. I think they hold on to win
this game. Now, George's got a lot of pride, guys.
If you remember that Bama game, Bama is mopping them
up and down the field and they could have easily folded. No,
it's a twelve team playoff. One loss isn't so bad
in September. No, that's it's not what they did. They

(10:01):
hunkered down, buckled down, and they fall back and then
took the lead late in the game, ultimately losing the
game late in the game. But that showed me right,
there is still a Georgia team to be record with.
Now they have slow starts, they can't have that to
that mark. So we're already in the first quarter, seven
to fifty left on the clock, zero zero. They got
to start faster than they've been starting. You don't want
to get behind this long quarantine fifteen to twenty points,

(10:23):
two touchdowns, anything like that, especially when you're not even
moving the ball or dominating right now, then you can
be in trouble. But I would keep the ball on
the ground from Georgia, run the football, workoff, play action.
I'm trying to keep the ball away from Texas as
much as I can tonight. That's the only shot they have.
They're not gonna win a shootout. He talked about Alabama
and they made me think Loft today on the road

(10:45):
and Knocksville. Last three games for Alabama one in two
and beat South Carolina by two points. Yeah, it's South
Carolina team that's gotten dog walks several times so far
this season. And what went on the road and was
put in the whip and I din't see the final,
but on the row is putting whoop in Oklahoma. Oklahoma's
missing so many guys on the offensive side of the ball.
I'm not even sure it's even fair to judge Oklahoma.

(11:07):
But Alabama, if we've swing there for a quick second, Hey,
I think there's a discussion that needs to start to
be had about this team. They look good coming out
in the beginning of the year and Melroe's still gonna
make plays. But watching today, there's there hasn't been a
progression that I would hope I was gonna see from him.
There's been a small lead, but not as big in
these last three weeks. Earlier in the year, he looked phenomenal.

(11:29):
We were marking him down possibly as the Heisman winner.
That looked like it could be Cameron Ward. It looks
like it keeps changing every two to three weeks, which
is fine. I like that because it gets more guys
talked about this better for our business. But when I
look at Jalen Milroe in this offense, and Tennessee's does
have a great defense, but the last few weeks they
have struggled at times. If they don't hit the big play,
where's the long drives, Mark, where's the sustained drives to

(11:52):
wear you down? And those are the Alabama teams we
used to see where they would just beat you up
so much. By the fourth quarter, you wanted nothing to
do with Trent Richards said, you wanted nothing to do
with Derrick Henry. You wanted nothing to do with Mark Ingram.
They don't have that right now. It's their quarterback and
that's what shifted. I think that's been an offensive issue
for Bama. That I mean, man, they are Ryan Williams

(12:13):
dependent nineteen targets night throwing the one guy? Now? Is
that systematic? Or is that Jaylen Mirroe falling in love
with one guy? I think? I mean, it's hard not
to fall in love.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
It's hard not to. It's like, you know, just your
face right there. You want to agree, but he's like,
it's kind of hard not to fall in love with it. Yeah, yeah,
nineteen damn targets. You better find somebody else, man, I
get it, but way too many nineteen targets, That's what
I'm saying. So and I'm not I like milro so
I don't want to. I want to come off as
I'm banging on him. But is it just because you

(12:52):
love that guy? Or are you not using your eyes?
Are you not progressing? Are you not reading the defenses?
Because I don't. I don't believe any player should have
nineteen past targets in a game where at one point
he had seven points into the third quarter. Yeah, and
you're targeting one guy. That might be why you only
have seven points on the board in the third quarter.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
My thought with mil Rose, I think we, like I
said last year, he's just he's going to be a
good college quarterback. He's not like the idea that I
still think he could be a pro. He's but he's
gotta progress. But I don't see you. I don't think
that progression is coming. I don't think I think we
are seeing the maximum output. Like can he get better, sure,
but like not so markedly better that he Like when

(13:34):
I look at when you look at Shador compared to
to Jalen, to me. It's night like it's and that's
all due respect. My door still has progression to make
as a quarterback. I like, I like the kid, you
know what I'm saying. I just that's where he's at.
So how about this? Do this one as an upset
Alabama fan after you've now lost two games before Halloween?

(13:55):
Oh okay, couch Tom coming up next. Everybody said this

Martin b Day coming to you live from the tire
Rack dot com studios. Do you want to join the
conversation feel free. In fact, we encourage it. Uh, just
send us a tweet. I'm at Martin Wis. VJ is
at the Big Vanilla funny like hammering Hank Dave VJ.
He said, who do you guys think will be the
leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy this year? Well, Hank,

(14:58):
thanks for asking. We will get to that at ten
thirty Eastern. We will talk about when they do a
little bar of Steve Hartman do a little Heisman update.
Heisman update there, Hey, Hank, Way is it again? Do
you guys think that Alabama will make it to a
college football playoff game this year?

Speaker 3 (15:16):
No?

Speaker 2 (15:17):
No, no, I do not right now. I don't think so.
I don't think they're equipped to. I don't think they
can lose another game, and I do think that they
will when you look at the upcoming schedule, I mean,
they're in the SEC. They gotta they gotta. I mean
most of the time you think Alabama is the big
bad team in the SEC. But there's a lot of
good teams out there that are I mean, I mean
this LSU team, you know, five, and I can see

(15:38):
them beating Alabama, right Obama? Three losses? Yeah, three losses
don't get you in. Michigan got eliminated today. Oh yeah,
three losses don't get you in. You can't have a
three loss team in a twelve team playoff. Hanger Hank
that that's not gonna happen. So Obama loses again, they're out.
This is elimination time in college football. You got two losses,
you drop anything from here, you're out the playoff. Get

(15:58):
ready for the pinch stripe bawl up at Yankee Stadium.
The Georgia corner just ran a corner blitz and hit Quinn.
You were so hard that I, like my goodness from
fumbled the ball and everything. It was blind sick completely.
He just got knocked. As they would say, the f
out or anyway Packers, this defense is gonna keep him
in this game though, Oh yeah yeah the Packers in

(16:19):
the Texans says people, you know, all off to ease
the game. Oh way, you know, you know who could
be a sneaky Super Bowl? Youth did in Green Bay?
You know, two young quarterbacks, two young coaches. You know,
pay guys. It could happened. You know about all that,
but a common a common refrain. But as I sit
here today, I wonder first, would you rather have c. J.

(16:44):
Stroud or Jordan Love be your quarterback? Now, Jordan Love
got paid. Take that out do your best to take
that out right. What I'm saying just to look at
him straight up. You know me, I'm a tape guy.
My thing is guy. Well, so sometimes I take you know,
how much money coming in matter? But to me, I
take Stroud. I think CJ. To me is shown consistently

(17:05):
throughout the what the twenty some game or twenty four
some games he's played in the NFL thus far, that
he has a higher floor to me than Jordan loved us.
Jordan Love may have a higher ceiling. But it's something
about and you're gonna eat this up. It's something about
his footwork that just he's always thrown off his back foot.
He's always thrown it seems like his footwork, and it

(17:26):
just seems like it should catch up at some point.
It seems like it shouldn't. Maybe maybe can look away
it's supposed to, but it seems like it should catch
up at some Nobody gets away with it forever, nobody,
no great quarterback ever gets away with bad footwork forever.
That's just that that doesn't compute, So for me, it
would be right now. CJ. Stroud, I actually like him

(17:49):
as a better quarterback than I do Jonah Love. I
like Jordan Love, but I like CJ. Stroud better now.
He there's there's some things he needs to clean up,
but it's his second year of professional football, and the
game moves fast at this level. It's it's dangerous at
this level, Like you don't just walk in and just
take over the league just from day one. Even quarterbacks
that get late starts, like you know, Pat Mahomes sat first,

(18:11):
Mike Vick sat almost his entire rookie yar his whole
rooky are I believe like you know, some some guys,
some guys get I have to sit a little bit,
but nobody just ever comes right in and uh dominates.
But CJ is the better quarterback right now. I take
CJ right now. I like his throwing motion better than
I like Jordan loves throwing motion. His footwork is better,

(18:31):
and just his his his stance in the pocket. He
always stays tall in the pocket. Jordan Love seems to
kind of slouch a little for me, and to me,
that tells me a guy that's ready to take off.
Her run. CJ moves to avoid the pressure to make
the throw. Jordan Love moves to avoid the pressure to
then take the ball and run, and I would take CJ.

(18:52):
Shout over him first right now. The other thing, the
other thing about this matchup, Jeff Hafley, the Green Bay
Packers defensive corenator formerly the head coach at Boston College,
has been drawing it up this year. This Packers defense has,
I mean, Xavier McKinney himself has five interceptions, were in six.
We're in week six, so they lead the league in interceptions.
I believe it's a team. I'm not sure, but I'll

(19:12):
look it up. No, I mean this, This Texans, I
mean this, This Packers defense has been really, really, really
good and it's going to be interesting to see how
they're able to kind of dissect this with CJ and
the Texans without Nico Collins, who's obviously on what week
two of his four week ir snitt now you know,
and that guy was playing at all pro level before
before he got that Hampshire and Tank has stepped up,

(19:35):
but I don't know if Tank can do it for
four weeks. He did, He has recently stepped up a
lot more uh than some of the other guys there.
But the defense is always going to keep you in
the game if you're Green Bay. So they're definitely gonna
be in this game tomorrow. It's not going to be
a blowt wn't surprised me if they won the game.
But I still like the Texans. I like the offense.
I like their defense also. And if it comes down

(19:57):
to the two quarterbacks, give me Stroud to make late
better play over Jordan Love to make late better plays.
Who's got the coaching advantage? Oh the Packers, dude, by far,
It's not close, you think, so? Absolutely? Absolutely absolutely. I Like,
there's nothing I don't dislike about uh, Demigo Ryans, But
come on, man lafour Like, there's something about Lafleur and

(20:19):
his fil special teams to me that bothers me. Like
you find out a lot with great coach Andy Reid
used to have special teams issues, but that to me,
that never that's your special teams coach, it really is.
There's been good coaches that have had average special teams
and I don't I don't normally put that on the
head coach, but he's responsible for it. Seems like they

(20:40):
are always I mean what, they got three kickers on
the rafter right now, They're always just trotting out some
undrafted trying to make it happen kicker, and it never
seems to work. And now you're in week seven scrambling
for a plan after having Mason Crosby for so many years,
right after having just a great dominic kicker. That's why
I hate when people trash kickers. Bro said, you think

(21:00):
Patriot fans trash kickers?

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Dad, A guy named Adam Vinitary. He was great, like
he was, he was great. H Justin Tucker, Yeah, Justin Tucker,
come on, like you need you need good kickers, trust me.
Teams are struggling to find him. I thought you I
thought we had to hit the dumb button for a second.
I was like, whoah, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no no, tell me how you really feel about field

(21:23):
goal kickers. I love him, That's how I really feel
about him. Coming up next, we saw Devanta Adams on
the move. Also, the line in this game, the betting
line is moving in a way that we only see
for one reason, and it feels like America is just
ignoring it. I don't understand why. I'll explain coming up
in just a second. But first, but no, no, no,

(21:46):
Steve the Sager, you're up.

Speaker 5 (21:48):
Bobby Bowden with special teams problems for years.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Yeah right right, yeah, and and he never got blamed
for it, but it was just it was what it was.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
Eventually they found a kickers cost him a few Miami games.
Is that RecA you mentioned USC and Alabama sc giving
up fifteen points at Maryland in the last ten minutes.
Turps won the game twenty nine twenty eight, So SC's
three and four this year. EIGHTP points out that Lincoln Riley,
going back a year, has a record there with the
Trojans of five and nine, and that coach Clay Hilton

(22:18):
never had a fourteen game stretch that.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Bad at USC.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
Meanwhile, Alabama gives up ten points in the last six
minutes at Tennessee. The Balls win it over Obama twenty
four seventeen, So Alabama now has two losses before the
end of October for the first time since Nick Saban's
first season in two thousand and seven. Right now, at
his end of the first quarter at number one Texas
fifth rank, Georgia was handed a turnover gift and took

(22:42):
advantage seven nothing Bulldogs lead on the road Texas QB
Carson Beck had thrown two interceptions first period, but at
fumble from quinn Ewers really set up the Bulldogs inside
the fifteen just in the last couple of minutes. They
take advantage seven nothing Georgia end of one. Number twenty
one AS leads in the first quarter at Stanford seven

(23:02):
to nothing. Stanford's not only lost fifteen straight against ranked teams.
Even worse, the Stanford Cardinal have lost ten straight at
home just against FBS opponents ranked or not. On Fox TV.
Seventeenth rank Kansas State, it just scored on an interception
return extra point is good. Seventeen to three lead for
k State at West Virginia early second quarter, end of

(23:25):
one at number nine Iowa State fourteen to seven Cyclones
over UCF. By the way, it's the Iowa Hawkeyes getting
shut out at Michigan State nine to nothing Spartans mid
second quarter. Vanderbilt's only up on ball State fourteen to
seven at the half. Right now, in the final two
minutes of the first half. Number eight LSU leads at
Arkansas sixteen to seven. Sixth rank Miami got four touchdown

(23:48):
passes from cam Ward in a win at Louisville fifty
two to forty five. It was number ten Clemson pulling
away to beat Virginia forty eight thirty one. Twelfth ranked
Notre Dame one in Atlanta again vains Georgia Tech thirty
one to thirteen. Indiana ranked sixteenth this week blitz Nebraska
fifty six to seven. Nineteenth rank Missouri in a fourth

(24:09):
quarter comeback down to Auburn twenty one to seventeen. Wins
for Illinois Army and Navy. By the way, we did
have a later afternoon game that came to a conclusion.
Number fourteen Texas A and M did win at Mississippi
State thirty four to twenty four. Mississippi State one and six.
Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is out this weekend with

(24:30):
a sprain shoulder. Mason Rudolph start on Sunday. The Steelers
planned to start quarterback Russell Wilson's Sunday night. The Browns
activated running back Nick Chubb after last year's knee injuries.
Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker is questionable for tomorrow due
to illness and the an American League Championship Series game.
It is Cleveland hosting the Yankees. Scoreless in the top

(24:51):
of the second, Cleveland threw out a runner at the
plate from the outfield, great relay throw by him and
as middleandfielder. Game six of the series would be Monday
at Yankee Stone. For now, the Yankees lead the best
of seven three games to one. NLCS. Game six will
be Sunday night in l A. Dodgers up three games
to two, hosting the Mets on FS one again.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Back to you, Thanks Steve Martin Wise vja Husky, coming
to you live from the tire rack dot Com Studios.
Vj uh We saw a very odd honestly, Let's let's
be honest. It was weird watching Devanta Adams pop over
Aaron Rodgers' shoulder just six minutes prior to being traded
from the Raiders to the Jets. Weird to me. No,

(25:31):
I mean, I'm not know we did that. I'm saying
it was just odd. The visual of like, it's kind
of like I saw somebody tweet It's like this is
the way that couples announce that they're pregnant. He's like, cat,
guess what, guys, we gotta know it all the way,

(25:53):
I said, yes, right exactly, and Aaron Rodgers of Divina
Adams the same, Yes for sure, as the Jets move
further and further and further into Rogers Land where he
is the president, CEO, and dictator and they do everything
he wants by trading for Davonte Adams. But here's the thing, DJ, Now,

(26:15):
you know I spend way too much time and money
betting on these games. Yep, Like, well you know you
need therapy. No, you should just like this few such
as you say that money bro, say that money man.
I like, I like gambling. I know you do. I
do too, but I don't do it as nearly as
much as you do it. There are certain things that
happen throughout the week that can cause the betting line

(26:37):
to move. One of them is not trading for thirty
two year old Davonte Adams. All right, that's not what
it is. This this line. The Steelers were one and
a half point favorites in this game Sunday night. Like,
so you know when after everything was settled, you know
you got the injury report. Okay, everybody's gonna start. Okay, cool,

(26:59):
that's what Chaule's is has to move. Somebody got hurt,
somebody gets suspended. You know what I'm saying. That's generally
what causes lines to move. Well, you know, you pay
attention to the noise coming out of Pittsburgh. It's like,
wait a minute, Russell Wilson is taking first team reps. Right,
wait a minute, right, Justin Fields is doing melancholy press

(27:19):
conferences where he's like, man, I fight, you just played
better and we wouldn't be having this conversation, which is true,
and he's right, and that's very mature for him to say.
But you know what happened VJ. The line moved a
full three points. You know enough about betting to know this.
Why does a line move like that? And to bring
in more money on the other team. But generally, if

(27:41):
for the line to swing three points, either like a
coach is not gonna be there. Yeah, you know what's
taking out our player against our player gets out of it.
Either somebody's coming back or someone is out Las Vegas,
not the Raiders. But the general term that we use
for like the betting market is telling America that they

(28:01):
think that Russell Wilson is three points worse to Justin Field.
That's what it is. That's what it boils down to
and it seems to me that just about everybody in
the world is like, why would you enter Russell Wilson
into this scenario? Now we're not there, we're not at practice,
but I'm first guessing this right now. Tomlin is messing

(28:22):
this up unless it is so good. Unless Ross comes out. Now,
maybe he comes out and starts sicing and diceon. I
just think those days are over. Let Russ Cook huh, come,
I get the cook and I just think those days
are over. I don't see that happening. And while Justin
Field's has not been playing lights out, his athletic ability
gave them as I mean, they don't score thirty points

(28:43):
against the Raiders without Justin Fields running in to just
I'm done? What are we doing? What are we doing here?
What are we doing here? Russell Wilson in twenty twenty four?

Speaker 6 (28:52):
Yeap, But Martin, you don't think Devanta Adams had like
even one point to do with flick that swing.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
I mean, I would say maybe at the most one point,
at the at the most one point number one he
hasn't played. Okay, that's the number one he had. He
hadn't been playing, So I don't know how rusty he
will be if everybody thinks that he's just gonna show
up and them bum ass Jets is just gonna turn
around all of a sudden. No, this is gonna be hilarious.

(29:19):
This thing's gonna fall flat on its face. Now. I'll
get to that in the second. The Russell Wilson thing.
I don't even I don't know honestly what to say
right now because I don't want to like to have
to repeat myself. But I'll go more on Justin Fields.
They do have the twenty fifth rank offense in the league. Okay,
I get it, But you have the eight ranked league
defense in the league. Right, you have the eighth ranked

(29:39):
defense in the NFL. Sometimes this is how certain seasons
just go. Your quarterback just can't lose you games. Now,
I think Justin Fields might have lost them one game,
but the other games he's looked he didn't lose them.
The Cowboy game, you know what I'm saying, Like the
defense still can hold Dallas. You let Dallas drive down
the field to win that game. You like your quarterback.

(30:01):
You know what Justin Phils is. He's a guy that,
like I said, just don't lose us the game. He
didn't lose you the game, and you still lost the game.
I don't put that on Justin Fields. What's Russell Wilson
gonna do. Tell me who's he throwing to. Let's start there.
Let's just start there. Pittsburgh. The days of Antoine Randa
well and and and heinz War those days are gone.

(30:23):
You know you're not getting Pickens. He's not the guy
I thought he would be better this year. I thought
last year was just an anomaly. You know, young guy
in the league. He'll figure it out.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
He'll get it.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
No like Terris marshall Right, he'll get it, he'll figure
it out. No, it's just is what it is. But
I don't understand the quarterback move is the wrong thing
to do when it's not that you're one in four.
Are you're one and five and you're playing terrible. That's
not the case at all. You're basically saying this was
what we really wanted to do all along, and if

(30:53):
we didn't start out, what five and one or six,
and oh we're gonna make a quarterback change. I just
I don't stand why you're changing at this point. I
never believe the cav crap, we'll see, Like you said,
it better look really really really good, really good tomorrow. Yeah,
I mean, it better looked really good tomorrow. This is tough, man,
because I to be fair, it's not that Justin Fields

(31:15):
has played so well that we like you have to
you cannot bention by any sug. That's not that Sundy.
They Jets have a bomb defense you it better look
good tomorrow, But it is. It is a very very
puzzling decision, and one that, like, you know, I think
that a lot of the criticism of Tomlin is overblown
when you consider that, I don't know, the man's never

(31:35):
had a losing season ever ever ever ever ever like
ever ever never like that, and oh but never won
a playoff game. It's what you know, you know how
you win playoff games by making the playoffs. But you
can't win playoff games at six and ten, seven or
six and eleven. Yeah, you just you're not going to qualify.

Speaker 6 (31:55):
The Jets haven't made the playoffs in like fourteen years, right,
like you seem to have a coach that makes it
every single all the time. Given that is so invaluable,
words can't even describe it.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
And so like I understand saying, Okay, well, you gotta
at some point, you gotta elevate, at some point, you
gotta go out there and win some of these things.
But you he's invited to the party every single year,
every time, every single year. You can't you can't go
out and have a good time if you never got
the invite. And here's the thing. How many times in
the last three or four years in that we've sat
around and been like, ah, this is gonna be the
year that the Steelers fall flit, you know, flat off

(32:29):
the football earth. And there's years there, five and five
or five and four, and they start to put the
playoff rankings out, they put the seedings, and the Steelers
over here in the hunt, right, they're under in the
hunt and they're like the six team down. They're like,
oh yeah, this is the year. And then week twelve,
Week thirteen, Week fourteen, Week fifteen, it's like it starts
to get cold, right, everybody can't throw. But what does

(32:51):
Pittsburgh do. They run the ball and their defense travels.
They run the ball and their defense and they playing
a tough division. They're playing the Ravens late, you're playing
the Bengals late. I know the Browns are trash, but
it's still a division game. You guys almost got that
Philly pick last week. I was, I texted you, then
I text you guys. I said, there's no way this

(33:11):
game should not be ten to ten in the third quarter.
It just shouldn't be. But Cleveland and professionals too. They
get a paycheck, I believe every Tuesday and Thursday. I
think that's when the NFL is mad. But they get
paychecks too. Okay, he's just still professional football players and
a very good defense. Yeah, yeah, And so when you're
Pittsburgh and you're bad that every year. And look at

(33:32):
the he had to go through the Patriots. Well, he
had to go through the Broncos when they had when
it had Peyton, the Coats when they had Peyton, the
Chargers when they had Philip, like, he's had to really
go through he had Big Ben, but he still had
to go through some of the other greats to keep
getting to the playoffs. And he just kept doing the
time and time again. Hell, I might just go on
the limits and they're gonna go this year because I

(33:53):
don't want to look stupid. I mean, four and two,
that's a good way to start out, it's like five
to two. After tomorrow it's you know, you're pretty good.
So VJA. Tom Brady wrote a check and bought a
portion of the Vegas Raiders. And from the people that
I've heard covering the team that I know, so they

(34:13):
said that Tom Brady will have a major input in
the football decisions, including who plays quarterback. Well, I imagine
that will be a major football decision as well. But
also could he be bringing back that old thing? You
know that we want that old thing back. I want
that Tom Brady bring that old thing back on down
and lost Thomas. We'll get to that coming up next

(34:35):
to Martin Wis' VJ Husky Fox Sports Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Martin Wis VJ Husky coming to your life from the
tirerack dot Com Studios. So VJ Old Thomas Patrick, Edward
Brady Junior. I believe UH is now a part owner
of the Las Vegas Raiders. Uh. Unfortunately, it seems for
until peers that that that might not be his job
for much longer, you know, until Yeah, he's not going

(35:05):
to be long for that job unless they turn it around. Nope,
he's gone. The question you have to ask Bill Belichick
to Vegas. How do you feel about it? No, that's
not gonna happen. I don't think those two guys are
as close as we mean that some people wanted them
to be. And I get it. Just because you work
with someone doesn't mean and you're successful. Not just work

(35:26):
with them, you work as a team, where you work
at Tanham, where you work at a group or whatever.
You're successful, doesn't mean everybody's going to like each other.
Doesn't mean everybody's going to be friends. I think he
would want to kind of do his own thing and
set up more for the future. I mean, how long
would would Belichick coach?

Speaker 6 (35:41):
Right?

Speaker 2 (35:42):
He's in this mid to late seventies, isn't he almost eighty?
I know you'll look it up real fast for me,
but you know, I think Brady would want to seventy two.
Actually it's okay, so seventy two, all right, So I
mean you bring them. Man, he's seventy three. You know
he's gonna coach three or four years. You know, I
think he would want to start. I would I would
if I'm him, I'm starting with my own guy, starting

(36:02):
with a younger guy. A younger stafff bringing in some
veteran coaches to help those guys out and build that way.
If you bring Bill in, Bill's gonna want total control,
you know. And Tom Tom's a control freak too. So
I just don't think they've listen. They've had their run.
It was what it was, and it's over. I would
like to see Tom go in a different direction and

(36:24):
start this new story of his life, this new phase
for us to talk about on TV and radio about
Tom Brady with another guy other than Bill Belichick. Again.
So I think there's some some young, wonder kid, wonder
guy out there that has been deserving a spot. Your
offensive coordinator Ben Johnson up there in Detroit. I could
see a move like that, definitely. He was interviewed, He
was looked at a bunch of interviews last year exactly.

(36:46):
And I think Tom is a guy who can sit
a guy like that down in front of him and
put on that smile man, and and talk that talk,
and pull a guy like that and make him your
head coaches start from there. That would be a great
pick for me. Now you said that there are a
few teams that need to be making fire shield djes,
Tell me who they are number one of the Raiders,
and Tom's the Raiders. We're gonna be on them. Yep,

(37:08):
Tom's gonna do that. Raiders fire sell even even Max Crosby.
At this point, You're not gonna win with him, you know,
and the guy's giving you everything he can give you. Honestly,
you're not gonna win with him, and he's given you
everything he can give you. I would probably be making
calls and see what I can get for him. Stack
up some players, some young guys, some draft picks. The
other team would be the Browns. It's it's over. The

(37:28):
Deshaun Watson thing didn't work. Martin's right, it's the worst
contract in sports history. He's right, he hit on it.
He hit on that one. I start all over again.
You already started to set off with Cooper, how to
get Miles Garrett. Start calling around. See what you can
get from Miles Garrett. You're not gonna win with him.
He's given you everything that he can. He's led the
league in sacks for you. He's kept his mouth shut.

(37:49):
He hasn't gotten any trouble. He's a leader, you know.
He's passionate about the game of football, and he shows
up every Sat Sunday ready to play football. You know,
let that guy going somewhere else. The other team is
the Carolina Panthers. You need to reset what you're doing
right now. I understand you bench Bryce and then you
put in Andy and gotta win, But what have you
looked like since then? So it's your team, it's not

(38:09):
it's your legit conversation of should they be benching Andy Dalton? Yeah,
it's your team. Man, Your team is bad. You haven't
done anything to make your team better. Start resetting it now.
Start stop trying to maguy for this thing and putting
duct tape and chewing gum one and think it's gonna
hold together and rebuild from the structure again. My honorable
mentioned team is only because I thought they would be

(38:30):
better and it was a team you were high on
all year long. And I don't want them to waste
their quarterbacks prime years right now in a big deal.
And that's the Arizona Cardinals. But their honorable mention, I
would give it a minute. But listen to their next
six games. Okay, and they're two and four. They got
the Chargers tomorrow. They're gonna lose that game. So now
they're two and five. Then they're at the Dolphins. They

(38:52):
get Oos back that week. That's a toss game for me.
Bears at home. Bears got a great defense that Caleb
looks like he might be he might he might be
settling in right now. To me, that's an l. Then
they got the bum ass Jets. That's a toss game
for me. Seattle that's a loss. Vikings, that's a loss.
They could be sitting at four and eight. I would
start to really think I'm gonna wait a couple more weeks,

(39:14):
but I would start to really think of them. Arizona. Okay,
what we're doing is not working. I don't mean move, Kyler,
but don't waste what you have it, Kyler right now,
start to figure out what's going on. Because you shouldn't
be two and four right now. I think your team
is way better than that. They probably should be fourn too.
But if this is the direction you're going, and if
this is where the trend is going, if I'm the Cardinals,

(39:34):
I might start to just think about it. That's why
their honorable missing for me. Martin. A few more weeks,
let me see how the stretch goes, and then I
say they played the Bills to a touchdown, right, and
that was they had all at the end. They played
the Lions to a touchdown. You know, Cardinals the only
team in the NFL to both win a game by
twenty eight points and lose a game by twenty eight points. Yeah,
that's not a good bit. I'm just saying. Yeah, this
just shows you the roll after how it can go. Man,

(39:56):
it's up and down coming up next? Can Detroit they'll
win without eight and hunches? Yes they can't.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
That's right, and we're broadcasting live from the tire iraq
dot com studios. Tire iraq dot com. We'll up you
get there with an unmatched election, fast free shipping, fruid
at a protection and over ten thousand recommend the nest
dollars tire erect dot com the way tire buying should
be so v JA. We all saw it because, uh,
you know, when you watch the way the Lions beat

(40:29):
the Cowboys, it's really will be called B two A
belt to ask, yeah, is what Detroit? That's exactly how
Detroit went in and just dominated Dallas the last time
these two teams played. You saw any time in which
you have an offensive lineman split out wide at your

(40:50):
X receiver. Things are either going really really well or
really really really bad. Yeah that's only one to two options.
But we did also see Aiden Hutchinson break his leg
and one of the most gruesome injuries that we've seen
so far this season, one of the more grooesomes that
we'll see in a long time. And this kid was
on a tear, like you said a minute ago in

(41:11):
a commercial break. He was on track for it like
a twenty SAX season favorite for the Defensial Player of
the Year, like he and he was living up to
all of the building that you get from being a
top five pick in the NFL draft. He was really
showing it, and he was really entering into the conversation
like okay, because right now that conversation is kind of
like what Garrett W. Garrett W. Garrett Hutchinson was making

(41:33):
a name for himself prior to that injury. So DJA,
everybody was like, well, now the Lions are cooked. They
don't have Aden Hutchinson anymore, they don't have eight Hunchson.
They can't they win a super Bowl now they know
how much he was respected. Though I'm not saying here none,
I'm just saying so. Dan Campbell did his weekly radio
hit on ninety seven Win the Ticket in Detroit and

(41:55):
talking to Jim Costa, the dude to the morning show there.
This is what he had to say after Kafta asked
him essentially the same thing that had been all everywhere.
Can you still reach your goals without Aiden Hutchinson?

Speaker 5 (42:08):
What's your message to Lions fans who feel like the
Super Bowl dream is dead or dying after losing a
player as significant as Aidan is?

Speaker 3 (42:16):
Well, I mean we could stop playing. You want to
just end the season now, we can do that. Let's
just call it up. No, it's not over. This is
why you go through all the training you do, and
this is why we stress all the time here, and
the players know this.

Speaker 4 (42:28):
Man.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
We play with three phases here, and you play with
eleven on offense, eleven on defense, eleven on special teams,
and we can adjust and do whatever we need to do.
We can raise the levy, we can lower it, and
we will find a way to play any game in
every game and find a way to win.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
Like that is what it sounds like right there. We'll
see how it plays out. I personally think that the
Lions have a really, really, really good stick scout the department,
their front officers. I mean, just look at the drafts
Brad Holmes. It was up to this year, Bj that
Brad Holmes had to cut his first draft pick. I mean,
every every every other pick has made the team. You

(43:06):
know what I'm saying. Then that is not you know,
normal essentially across the NFL. I think while the Lions
will miss Hutchinson, there's no doubt about it. Of course,
of course they will be fine. Of course they're gonna
be fine. First of all, let me just give Dan
Campbell some love because I'm gonna tell you right now, Bro,
we're missing more coaches like that in the game of football.

(43:26):
That he may not be the best x's and o's guy.
He may not be the best uh you know, schematic
and in the best way. At the press conference because
he talked about bidy kneecaps, right, we made fun of
him for that, ha ha. But that's what it really
does come down to. You heard the essence of what
true in my mind and opinion that the philosophy in

(43:47):
the psychology of football is eleven on offense, eleven on defense,
eleven on special teams. We're still got to play the games.
We still got to suit the hell up. I love.
There was a response of, well, we could stop playing
if you guys think it's over. No, losing the defensive
end as dominant as he was. Does it take away
from Jared Goff? Does it take away from Saint Brown?

(44:08):
Does it take away from Jameis Al Jameis Williams. Doesn't
take away from Montgomery. Now, it doesn't take away from Laport,
It doesn't take away from Branch, It doesn't take away
from the jacket, doesn't take from all the other weapons
that they have on this damn football team. But they
sold a dominant offensive lineman. It doesn't take away from
that stuff. Guys. He will be missed because he was
balling and as mar just said, I felt he was

(44:28):
on his way to twenty sacks.

Speaker 3 (44:29):
Man.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
He was balling, and of course he's a Michigan man,
that's my guy. But they will be just fine. I
will tell you that probably impressed me more than anybody
else in the league this year to this point, because
I didn't know what Detroit Lion team I was gonna get.
I know they have talent, we know They were in
a conference championship game last year and they had a
lead in the second half, but they blew that lead, right,

(44:50):
they lost the game. It's so Detroit, right, But this
year they look like, hey, nah, man, we're getting back
to the conference championship game and then we'll figure out
what we're gonna do from there. Dan Campbell is exactly right.
We'll win any way we have to. We'll play any
kind of game, Martin. That's real football, not oh, this
is our system and we do it like, no, this

(45:10):
is what you do. This is what I do. But
if you want to try to be you know, you
want to try to be funky and try something different,
we could play that game. You want to try to
keep the ball from us, no problem. I gotta play
calls from that. You want to rush from the en
is no problem. I gotta play calls for that. You
want to play back and play in front of me,
No problem. I got play calls like I got what
you knew, I got anything to go against what you got.
I love that he said it, like that. We need

(45:31):
more of that, man, And I think he's right, Martin.
I think you're right too. They're gonna be just fine,
right now, I'm pinning them in at least to the
divisional round and they can get right back to the
conference championship game. I would, now, would I make a
move like Casan Reddick's just chilling? I got it. I
would do something? What what's up? Where? Okay? Do something?

(45:52):
Where not? Hassan rad the guy doesn't want to play, well,
he doesn't want to play for the Jets.

Speaker 6 (45:57):
I actually completely agree with what you guys are saying
about Dan Campbell and stuff.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
I guess I I no, no, not not even.

Speaker 6 (46:06):
But like if I were to play Devil's advocate, because
I do one hundred percent agree with this. But but
the people who are asking the questions, is the season cooked?
Hutchinson is their closer, you know, like this is by
far their best pass rusher. It's not like, oh, they
have other guys, right yeah, yeah, of course of course,
but outside of him, they have very little pass rush.

(46:27):
So it's like they might need to make a move
or something to trade in. But it's just on top
of that too, he's their closer, like this is the
guy who won the game. Is on the line, he's clutched,
like he comes he comes up with the sacks when
they really really matter, and that becomes extra important in
the playoffs. So I it makes it tougher for them
to win a Super Bowl, but I don't think anyone's
arguing it's not.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
I Uh, it makes it tougher because he's their best
defensive playing and if you want to replace him, you
want to play some fine, but I'm not doing it
with Hassan Reddick. If I'm the front office, I'm going
for a big dog, like I'm going for a home run.
I'm calling Cleveland or I'm calling the Raiders. I've mentioned
those two teams being fire cell. I'm calling both the season. Honestly,
I'll give what it costs. As far as draft picks

(47:05):
a concern, I'm not giving up none of my studs.
I'm not giving up none of my my little young
bucker rules, none of my young whipper snappers. That's bunk.
You can't have none of them. You want two first
so you want a first in a second for my air.
I have the first next year. Is not gonna help
Detroit in the in the sense of them winning the
Super Bowl. Right, They're gonna be picking late, so that
guy's not gonna come in and completely help you to

(47:27):
win the Super Bowl. But I'm calling those two teams.
If you want to replace Hutchison, I'm not replacing with
a guy that's been holding out. We're going in the
Halloween guy and play. And I'm not like picking off
what his name he's doing. But just any guy, any
medium of the middle of the road guy.

Speaker 3 (47:42):
No.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
If I'm Detroit and I'm gonna try to replace Hutchison
and make a move, I'm going for a home run.
I'm going for home I'm going for a big dog
to put there. Not a guy that's you know, was
on this team and all he look good and taping
this gaming in this game, and nah, man, listen, put
all your chips. If I'm Detroit, I pushed all my
chips to the middle. Jam. I do what the Rams

(48:04):
did three or four years ago. Remember the Rams pushed
all their chips to the table. Now if I had
to pay for it, but they got to two Super
Bowls in one one. That's why you do it. Right now,
If I'm the Detroit Lions, I push all my chips
in and I go get me a big doll. I go,
I go, I call Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (48:20):
I mean, I'm sure they're making that call. I'm just
what do you agree? Would you do? Would you go
all run? I would? I would try to get some
action in there, like whether it be Reddick, whether it
be Garrett, whether it be Crosby.

Speaker 6 (48:31):
They've been legitimate rumors about Crosby because even I think
there was in a media scrummer whatever he said like,
you know, whether I'm here or not, you know, I
want to win.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
That's the that's the guy that for them, that's the
guy that's topped on my life. I love Garrett. He's
I just team playing I exactly. I just think Crosby.
I think Crosby would fit in better that That just
is his personality right, the culture there, I think he would.
I think he'd slide right. And then next year, guess
what you're putting Hutch on one side and you're putting
Crosby on the other. God good luck, Oh god, good luck.

(49:01):
He's familiar with the area too, went to college at
Eastern Michigan. Sure, then Crosby field out there at ipsil Any.
Really are you a man? I mean, I get you problem.
You are full of information? You know me? You are
you full of How do you have all this sports information.
When you watch as much Netflix as you do, Look,
when are you doing? You must be the guy that
binge watches but then has his laptop on his lap

(49:24):
and you're you're watching, but you're like researching. When I research,
I have that football sports on and that's I can't
have like TV on. It has to be all sports
going on around me for me to lock in and
research and and look up stuff. You watch a lot
of TV, man, I don't know how to hell you know.

Speaker 6 (49:38):
So much Mark, you should start one of those like
toilet paper things that have like facts on them, you know, just.

Speaker 2 (49:44):
Making calendar a day calendar. Did you know the Arizona
Cardinals the only team in the NFL to lose and
win by over twenty Remember the old pack of instant
oatmeals with the information on you? Remember Snapple facts? Snapple
inside the cap?

Speaker 1 (50:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (50:01):
Yeah, it was inside the cap. Yeah, what happened to
Have you seen a Snapple and they're still there? I've
never seen it. I went to the liquor store like
a couple of minutes ago, or like a couple hours ago,
and you saw a Snapple? Yeah, they still have facts
on the inside of the I haven't grabbed a snapple
on a minute. Yeah, that I couldn't answer. I haven't
seen anybody drink a Snapple in like a decade. That's

(50:23):
like mystic. You guys remember that one. I do remember, Mystic?
Where did that go? I don't remember? Remember Sam Donald? Yeah, yeah,
he is like I remember those us he days. Thank
god they existed. But is this the week? Because we're
kind of all, let's be honest, We're being honest here.
We've all kind of been waiting to see if Sam

(50:45):
Donald was going to just go back to what he's
always been and he did it in London, Like we've
all kind of been waiting, like you know what I'm saying.
We've all kind of been like, Okay, when is this
is cool? But when is this car running out of gas?
Is this the week man without huts? See that's the thing. Say,
that's how good huts is without huts. Ian makes a
great point. They someone else has got to step up

(51:06):
in past rugs. I'll tell you this, This game could
decide when we see tomorrow and out of the pass Rush,
I could decide whether it's Martin said, you get some
action going, like not just phone calls. You get some
deals kind of tossed back and forth, and you know,
just hey, hey, what if we were to give you this,
so what do not? Just Hey? How you doing? How
you been?

Speaker 4 (51:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (51:23):
How's Mary? How's it?

Speaker 3 (51:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (51:24):
How the kids? Okay? Cool?

Speaker 4 (51:25):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (51:26):
You know, if you if you're thinking of doing anything
like they are on the Giant Yeah yeah, hey if hey,
if you're thinking of doing anything, you know, keep you know,
keep going. I think after this week and we look
at the pass rush, it starts to okay, look, you
know we got a third and a fourth and got
a little money here, or hey, you know, just this,
this is this pitch player that's been playing good that
you like. I think those conversations kind of so. I

(51:48):
would love to see Detroit make a home run. I
just would That's gonna be my new thing, man, I'm
gonna stick with all your loan. I want Detroit to
make a home run. Move into the trade deadlines. I
think that. Uh well, I would love to see the
in the super Bowl. It would just it'd be history.
We've never seen it. We've never seen the Lions in
the super Bowl. I would love to see that. I
wouldn't hate on it. I would love to see that
man Dan Campbell coaching in the Super Bowl. Come on,

(52:11):
so this AFC team tried to make a home run
move doctularly. You love it. It fell spectacular. You love
it to Mardin. But Chris Brussard, former voice on this network,
may a point on TV the other day about this situation.

(52:32):
I haven't heard anywhere else. It's kind of good. I
like it. I missed I'm excited to hear it. I
missed it. I didn't get a chance to see it,
so I'm will do it next. Aust Hart and Weis's
vitae Husky Fox Sports Football Saturday. Is he a madman
or a mad genius? Look at that coming up in
just a second. Martin White VideA Husky come to you
lif from the tirerack dot Com Studios. Football fans be

(52:54):
sure to tune in a Fox Sports Radio every Sunday
morning beginning at ten am Eastern seven am Pacific for
Countdown to Kickoff that's presented by bet MGM Brian you
know Jeff Schwartz and professional better Bill Krackenberger. Well have
you covered three hours before kickoff?

Speaker 3 (53:07):
Ever?

Speaker 2 (53:07):
Re Sunday morning listening to count down to the kickoff
about bet MGM right here on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app. We are on Twitter. Yeah, I still
call it Twitter, right because I don't X nothing. I
tweeted it. Og a one c says Dan Campbell costs
the lines the Super Bowl with his quirky personality on
those fourth down calls. It's feast or famine. And then

(53:28):
they were really hungry at the end. Is that fourth
is that fourteenth? And yeah? Oge, oh my god, you're
so Why are you so negative? Dude? You need a hug.
Illinois look good to you. You have saw it, jerky. Yeah,
Michigan is not relevant in the national conversation of football.
It's all good. The championship ring still shans. How about this.
You're a Buckeye fan, right, You guys spent twenty one

(53:49):
million dollars and you still can't go undefeated. Yeah, you
sit down, bro. You know we love you. You know
we love you. But you know I talk smack. If
you go get on Twitter and talk smacked the meat,
I'm talking smack back round. Well, don't run. That's right
exactly exactly. He knew what he was doing with the ball.
He cast him the game. That's why Steven X Smith

(54:10):
doesn't speaking of knowing what they're doing. Are we sure
that Steve Sarcasian knows what he's doing because there was
no quarterback controversy at Texas until now as he has
benched Quin. You weres to go ahead and out put
Arch Manning in like the But the problem was not
the quarterback and this it's their offensive line that's getting
pushed around like rag dolls Georgia. But listen, here's the thing,

(54:32):
and that said us about Georgia. They showed in Alabama
that they won't just roll over. They still got guys,
the guy guys in the trenches. They got a really
good offensive line because they can run the football. They
got a really good defensive line because they can rush
the passer. So Texas better figure this out now. As
far as quarterback controversy, I tried to start it a
few weeks ago. I did. I tried about what's that

(54:53):
about four or five weeks ago? I tried to start.
I tried to start Texas San Antonio, Yes exactly. Arch
came in because Quinn had got knocked out. It went ballistic,
threw two quick touchdowns, threw a pick, didn't bounce back
and had like a sixty yard sixty four yard scramble
and run where he just out ran and out sprinted
the defensive backs. And I asked the question, Okay, let's

(55:13):
say three four weeks go by and he's you know,
got ten touchdowns, ten eleven touchdowns and maybe three picks?
Do you wait? Do you do you somehow just stay
with the kid? No, you gotta put Queenn back. Game
gotta put Okay, I kind of felt it, but now
you've had the bench Quinn man Arch just turned it over.
And Arch just turned the ball over. So it's this
would be a game. You could go back to Quinn

(55:35):
or you could have started to quit it, saying for
the Georgia game, you didn't really need him for any
other games. Like you guys have been, you know, starting
off slow, but have been playing really well. As Arch
gets hits right here, I'm sorry, Yeah, it was just
pass for a second because Arch gets hit. Trying to
throw the ball is ongoing for me Ian and Mary.
Let's let's whenever they asked Sark about this, whether it's
going into halftime or coming out of halftime, let's get

(55:56):
his answer because they're gonna let's let's try to get
that in and hear it, uh in real time. So
turn over Georgia Bowl. All right, So let's go ahead
and move back to the NFL. Yes, the UH. I
don't think there's a more commonly held opinion right now
in the NFL than bench Deshaun Watson. Like across, I
think that if you pulled every single person who is

(56:21):
doing radio and podcasting, whatever you will be, you will
not find the soul that says keep the Shawn in
the games. Then I know, I don't know anybody who
thinks this is gonna work out. So there's one person
in America who had an opinion why, maybe this is

(56:43):
why that they said, will keep the Shawn in the game.
You have already or you give me one second? Okay? Cool?
Listen to Chris Brussard on I believe Thursdays. First things first,
one of our good friends here, friend of the show.
All of that, He puts out a theory I had
never heard heard about DeShawn Watson. Jimmy Haslin, the owner

(57:03):
of the Browns. Is he a madman or a mad
genius mad man?

Speaker 7 (57:10):
Look, he gave Deshaun Watson two hundred and thirty million dollars,
fully guaranteed, your biggest contract.

Speaker 2 (57:15):
Yeah, guarantee right, just shape shape. Well, here's the take.

Speaker 7 (57:19):
This is why he's a mad man, because you're insisting
on playing DeShawn Watson because you don't want to look
like you made a mistake, which everybody knows you did anyway,
so you're telling them to keep playing them. I would say,
play Jamis. But here's where is he a mad genius?
Because look, the more we played this, Seawan get the
better chances of losing. We're gonna get at least the

(57:40):
top five pick, maybe the number one pick you draft
your quarterback of the future. I like Schador, there's other
guys out there, obviously cam Ward.

Speaker 2 (57:49):
Now can I get some can it where wit?

Speaker 3 (57:53):
Wait?

Speaker 7 (57:53):
Wait Wing?

Speaker 2 (57:54):
Can we get that for that? Yeah? Mom bombs all
of that? Yeah, all of that.

Speaker 3 (57:59):
That was good.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
It's just gort you.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
That was good.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
Just tort your say good, Bud. It's like, hey, I never.

Speaker 1 (58:07):
Thought about Hey.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
See me, I see you be, I see you play.
Do you think you think that's legitimate?

Speaker 3 (58:14):
You know?

Speaker 2 (58:15):
Hell yeah yeah, how makes total sense to me? Why
wouldn't not play you? You're getting this guaranteed money? Joe
ass out here, man, let's go get That's why they
should be fire sellers. Everybody but Deshaun, everybody can go.
You gotta stay and play because we're giving you the
guaranteed when you're the only one getting fully guaranteed money.

(58:36):
Now about shut door, it'll never happen, you know, never.
His dad has already said, I don't want my sons
playing nowhere cold, and the damn sure ain't gonna let
his son play for the Cleveland Browns, much like Eli
Man his pots wouldn't let his son play for the

(58:56):
San Diego Chargers. At that point, it will never have
but the but the opinion, Man, I was thinking about this, like,
when's the last time we saw Jameis Winston be the
best option on the court for a team? Like, when
we think about it, when's the last time we saw
James be the best option? Tom Brady was still the Patriot,

(59:19):
he now owns the team. It was a very, very
long time, and you know, I've been clamoring to see
when he was the saint. I was clamoring to see
Jamis over Derek Carr for the longest. But the reality
the situation is, it may be it's very much potential

(59:41):
that Deshaun watching this better than Jameis Winson that football.
It might be true. Now here's the thing. Joe flatco
Right had a much better season than theyn than DeShawn
did last year at Cleveland. But that's why he's no
longer on the roster. You know what I'm say. They
went and found they moved on for Flack because they

(01:00:01):
know at one and what what are they one and
five right now? One in four? Oh my goodness, everybody
in America would be But we just made the playoffs
with Flak. Oh, you gotta put them back in the game.
Get this guy out of here right now. With James,
I don't think James has no boy, he definite. I
don't think that, Like it's been a long time since

(01:00:22):
Jameis Winston was the best option for a football team. Now,
that was a great opinion by our friend Chris Brussard.
But I wouldn't be vj verner Husky to big Vanilla
Funny if I didn't try to poke at least one
hole in my boy Chris Busard's opinion there. The only
thing I will say about it is this, They're gonna lose.
Whether they played Jameis Winston or whether they played the
Shawn Watson. So it's not gonna matter. They are heading

(01:00:43):
for a two and fifteen season. It looks like three
and fourteen at best. And that's why they need to
be fire sellers right now. That's why I say, get
a guy like Garrett out of there, Man, get a
guy like Denzel Ward out of there. You already got
rid of on Mardi Cooper. Get rid of some of
these other guys. But the only guy that can't go

(01:01:03):
is DeShawn because we paying you, nobody else, no one
else is gonna take you anyway. Who would take the
Shawn Watson right now? Nobody would, so he's gonna be there.
You're not getting him fire sellers. I like the opinion.
But on the backside, it don't matter who they play, man,
they're they're they're bad now they play good Sunday against
the Eagles. But that's another discussion, is gracious man? Super

(01:01:27):
Bowl hangover, Bro, It's it's a real thing, right Mark,
regardless of how good you are, what kind of good
players you got, right, it's a real thing.

Speaker 6 (01:01:33):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
We're going into your two of us now with them
this real quick. You gotta love Sirianni going yelling at
the fan. I know, I know, I know. My players
told me they wanted me to do it, and then
Tuesday saying actually, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do
it that way. It's like, oh god, yeah, see what
they tapping you guys if it's a lie.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
Fight on that line.

Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
On that minute. The minute he's started doing that real talk,
I thought about you. The many he started doing it,
I'm like, God, it's something, knows Martin just going bring
up about this guy. I can't even defend, like, what
are you doing? Why are you doing? What do you
what do you do? What I'm trying to put never
mind go to go what's next is honestly I can't.
I think honestly, no, no kidding. I think that they're

(01:02:18):
lucky that this next the game they played tomorrow, is
being played in New York. If they are lucky it's
not another home game, man, because because you know, fill
Itdelphia fans are so well mannered and well justine that
you know, I'm sure they were just gonna golf clap
if the Eagles, you know, don'tsco In the first quarter
of White Gloves, Baby and caviarles fans absolutely all right,

(01:02:44):
coming up next? This former uh guy was journey man
sent all over the place, but right now he's like
a top the MVP rank. Yeah, wait a minute, what Yeah,
we'll get to that in just a moment. But first,
Steve de Seger arch man in Quinn yours sarks looked

(01:03:04):
like he's losing control. Right, tell us, Steve, I know
you got it.

Speaker 5 (01:03:07):
You referenced it earlier. They could use a little protection
for whomever is that quarterback right. Unofficially, five sacks for
Georgia in the first half. Can I say out loud
that the number one ranked team in the country is
trailing at home twenty three nothing at a halftime to Georgia.
AP points out when the number one team plays at
home since the year two thousand, the number one ranked

(01:03:27):
team has a record of one fifty nine and four
and the most they've lost at home this century is
by seven points. Wow, it's twenty three nothing Georgia at
Texas right now, Texas being the first number one to
be down by twenty points or more in any regular
season game in almost the last decade since Alabama was

(01:03:50):
down to Old Miss and came back and won. This
is not looking like a win for the Longhorns. Yes,
we've got a second half to go. Quinn viewers with
an interception and a fumble was benched.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
Our Manning came on.

Speaker 5 (01:04:01):
You were seventeen yards passing. Manning with nineteen yards passing
so Carson Beck of Georgia had two early interceptions. Texas
couldn't score off that, and Georgia leads twenty three nothing
at the break. Late third quarter. Number eight LSU is
now up twenty four to ten at Arkansas halftime. UCF
a head at number nine Iowa State twenty one fourteen

(01:04:23):
about to start the third quarter on Fox TV. Number
seventeen Kansas State leading at West Virginia seventeen to ten,
and SMUs scored again. Twenty first ranked SMU with an
extra point will be up twenty eight to seven at
Stanford late in the second quarter. Number six Miami won
fifty two to forty five at Louisville cam Ward four
touchdown passes. Tennessee at home beat Alabama twenty four to

(01:04:46):
seventeen with ten points in the last six minutes. Still
in Sampson one hundred and thirty nine yards rushing. Tenth
rank Clemson pulled away to beat Virginia forty eight thirty
one wins for Notre Dame and Texas A and M
on the road. Wins at home for India, Dana, and Missouri,
which trailed Auburn but with a fourth quarter comeback, won
the game twenty one seventeen as Missoo's quarterback Bratdy Cook

(01:05:08):
was able to return to the contest in the second
half after an early ankle injury. He was in the
hospital during much of the game. Illinois beat Michigan twenty
one seven, Army and Navy each one again. Maryland scored
fifteen points in the last ten minutes to defeat USC
twenty nine twenty eight. Trojanser three to four. Colorado won
thirty four to seven at Arizona. Tennessee Titans quarterback Will

(01:05:30):
Levis is out with the sprain shoulder. Mason Rudolph will
start on Sunday. Titans wide receiver Trailon Burks is on
ir with the knee injury. The Steelers do plan to
start quarterback Russell Wilson's Sunday night. He took the first
team reps this week. The Browns activated running back Nick
Chubb after last year's knee injuries, the forty nine Ers
elevated kicker Andrews Carlson and activated first round wide receiver

(01:05:52):
Ricky Piersoll. That's the Big Game on Fox TV Sunday.
San Francisco hosts Kansas City and Seahawks. Running back Kenneth
Walker is question for tomorrow due to illness. And in
the American League Championship Series at Cleveland, where the Guardian
starter is mowing them down one nothing Cleveland over the
Yankees in the bottom of the fifth ten or byby
with not only five scoreless innings but five strikeouts and

(01:06:14):
no walks. Cleveland trying to keep it season alive because
they're trailing three games to one to the Yankees in
the ALCS. If there's a game six in the series,
it would be Monday at Yankee Stadium. As for the Dodgers,
they'll be hosting a Sunday night Game six in the NLCS,
up three games to two, going up against the Mets
on FS one again. That's Tomorrow night.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin Wisse's VJ Husky coming
to a lot from the ti rack dot Com Studios. VJ.
Youve got a strong argument, right now that Lamar Jackson
should be the MVP front runner when you consider his
statistical output that we have seen and also just the
way that the Ravens have been playing. Yeah, Derek Henry's

(01:06:56):
up there as well on pace to rush for over
two thousand yards. Right, So you you got those. But
as I was on EN before the show, it's gonna
be hard for the mar to win another MVP before
he wins in the playoffs. If he does not have
the playoff success, people are just going to not vote
for him, do you know what I'm saying after a while,
Because then, because you know what nobody wants is when
you're in the divisional rounds and everybody's like, how could

(01:07:18):
you have voted this guy MVP right after he's losing
and he's throwing two interceptions or something like that. It
had a tough game or whatever. But to what honestly
was a little bit more interesting about the conversation is
Baker Mayfield is top four and not fourth an MVP conversations.
He's second or third depending on how you slice it.

(01:07:39):
When you look at the Buccaneers, who to me, in
my opinion, beat the best team in the NFC. The Lions. Yeah, uh,
are you asking me who's the MVP front runner. I'm
just or just throwing out there about Baker. Fascinating to
think that Baker Mayfield it's true. Okay, so we're right
there with it. Yes, it is one to percent fascinating
that Baker Mayfields in his position always been to Baker

(01:07:59):
Mayfield guy. I never understand the hate that he got,
but this always This also shows how sometimes you have
to grow in the NFL. And you know, things didn't
work out in Cleveland, but here we are talking about
Cleveland once again and the quarterback position, just how bad
the team is, goes down to Carolina, then goes out
to comes out here to LA and gets under Sean McVay,

(01:08:20):
and I think that might have been the light for him.
I think when he got under Sean McVay, the light
got turned on. Sometimes it takes a different coach, a
different atmosphere or a different surroundings, a different culture for
the light to come on for certain players. I think
that's what it was. And then he was able to
move on have a great season, actually get that offensive
coordinator higher as the head coach at that Carolina right
now where he was probably to go into the Rams

(01:08:43):
got a hundred million dollar deal and it now is
playing lights out. They are blowing people off the field
like they are putting up serious amount of points on people.
This offense is just humming and he's the catalyst of it.
You also can see when you watch these games how
much he is the leader, like this is his team.
It's not in question. Baker's the guy. Everybody follows him,

(01:09:05):
and a lot of times his leadership was questioned. I
think he's answered all of that. To go against the
point of Lamar, he would have to have more playoff success.
I think he can win the MVP this year because
he didn't get to the conference championship game last year
and he loses to and he lost to the guy
that nobody can beat, like nobody could beat Pat Mahomes

(01:09:26):
and Andy Reid, so that's who he lost to. So
now if he would have win it this year and
then they were to lose, say in the division or
the wildcard round, then I could see over the next
few years him not having a shot at being the MVP,
because then you can point back to that. But I
think this year he's got a shot to get his
third because he was just in the conference championship game.
And if they go fourteen and three, fifteen and two,

(01:09:47):
and they're humting the way they're humting right now, like
they would basically go fifteen and to go fifteen and two,
they would have to win eleven straight, right, They'd have
to finish the season eleven game winn strade. So maybe
they lose another game or two or whatever and finish
with thirteen wins thirteen four, four teen and three. He
would definitely be in a conversation fra It is just
wild to see. I mean, the Buccaneers, the NFC. You know,
two weeks it looked a lot better than it is

(01:10:09):
now with the Saints have fallen off the face of
the earth. Panthers are entire fire, and something about the
Falcons just does not sit well on my stomach when
I watch them play. You're not buying the Falcons. You
won't buy them to me, I was. I wasn't high
on them, but I wasn't in the middle of the role.
I've come back more to the middle of the row

(01:10:30):
because it does look like some of their wins that
were smoking mirrors, right, it doesn't. It doesn't feel like
they're just going on the field and winning and win
and win. Like the Eagles game, right the Eagles. The
Eagles split up on themselves. They went their pants. That's
how the Eagles lose. That's how the Falcons winning that
football game, right, And I think I want to say
the Steelers was the Steelers game or the Raiders game
that the Falcons either won or lost the game. It's

(01:10:52):
just games like that, though, you know, it's kind of
smoking mirrors, ball kind of bounces their way. I haven't
seen the game where the Falcons have gone out and
just like dominated their pony and beat their opponent in
the game of football. So I'm at the middle of
the row with them. I justly had it next like
two or three weeks pan out. That'll tell us a
lot about the Falcons. But the Bucks are for real.
The Bucks are definitely for real. Bucks are for real.

(01:11:13):
I think that they will be hosting a home playoff
game when this thing is all said and done, because
our receiving season too. I'm pretty sure this team went
to South sark At halftime, we saw benching of Quinn
Viewers Arch Manning came in the game. Youwers had an
interception on a fumble. Manning did not look that much
better after the fact. This is what he had to
say Sark going into the halftime locker room about his decision. Coach,

(01:11:37):
what did you want to see the change in your
offense to bring arch Manning in when you did well,
I'm just trying to settle quid down a little bit,
try to give us a little bit of a start.
But we got to get out of a row when we're.

Speaker 6 (01:11:46):
Not playing very good as a unit right now, they
got our defenses putting out some fire sports.

Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
Regardless of who your quarterback is, what do you do
upfront to get some more protection in rhythm?

Speaker 5 (01:11:55):
Well, we got to win on first down and then
we got a capitalize on third and four.

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
We gotta find some much supposed to place as well.
Credit ESPN. That's Holly Row asking the questions. Uh, SARKI
got about ten minutes left to figure this out in
the halftime. What's the third quarter starts if they're not competitive?
That is the conversation on Monday. Yeah, my question, My
response to that was a hogwash. That's bs. I want

(01:12:21):
to you who settles their quarterback by pulling them out?
Who settles their quarterback by pulling them out, you set
your quarterback. Maybe by calling the time out and pulling
them to the side. You got that Georgia front coming
at you, you might need to just take take a second. Well,
but guess what. Guess what the Georgia Front's gonna do
the rest of the game. Ian They're gonna come after you.
So so pulling them out did what it did. That

(01:12:43):
doesn't do anything. Call the time out, walk away with them,
walk away with them to the side real quick. Hey, buddy,
I need you lock in. Breathe breathe need you to
lock in. Hey, some big boys up front, right, some
big boys up there, all right, some big hosses. They
coming for you. Relax, but you also put your offensive
line together and say, hey, take your head out of
your ass and protect your quarterback. You're getting him killed
right now. Guys, follow your keys, go to your coach.

(01:13:03):
And we've seen this on film all week long. They're
not doing nothing different. Stay low, engage, block drive. That's
they're getting beat like up front. That's where it's gonna start.
You don't pull your quarterback out and create a quarterback
controversy because you gotta. You got a prodigy. It's not
it's not a fifth year grad transfer, it's arch manning.
That's why you don't pull him out. I don't buy that, Yeah,

(01:13:25):
I don't. I think he's a it reeks of desperation.
So if you don't put him back in the game,
So does that mean Quinn never calmed down? You feel me?
You feel me right now? Right? See what you're creating?
He's not. He's not thinking a the Domino effect because
now I would ask him post game presser coach at
the halftime, he said, you pulled him out to calm
m down and let him relax for a second, but
you didn't put him back in. Did he never calm down?

(01:13:47):
Did he never relax? Coach? Of course, we'll probably get
pissed at that in some smart answer. Well, let's see
if I go back. Yeah, we'll see what all right,
we'll see if you updated on that and everything else
that's going around college football and Major League Baseball. Guardians
take a two to nothing lead over the Yankees. Coming
up next, though, we'll play a game of Who You
Got Chiefs and forty nine Ers Edition play along? Play

(01:14:09):
along with us on Twitter Martin Wis Video Husky Fox
Sports Football Saturday NFL picks coming up in about ten minutes.
We'll pick some games against the spread as well as
pick our atomic dogs. Which one of these underdogs is
gonna win? Out right? Rough week? For that last week,
I mean, Lord a mercy, I don't even remember no, no, no,

(01:14:30):
every single favorite one, every single favorite lake last week,
almost almost all of them. More so, it was a
tough sledding for us. But let's go ahead. Now play
a game of who you got Chiefs forty nine Ers Edition?
All right? Who you got? This week's edition?

Speaker 6 (01:14:44):
As Martin said, is Chiefs Versus forty nine Ers Edition?
Just a quick refresher on the rules here to the
listeners who might not know, is that I am thinking
of a player, a former player, an executive, just someone
who has something to do with either the Chiefs or
the forty nine Ers. I'm going to give you guys
clues one at a time, and hopefully with each clue
it makes it a little more clear who I have,
which never happens. But go ahead, all right, We're gonna

(01:15:07):
start off with clue number one. This guy was a
first team All American in college and was drafted in
the second round of the NFL Draft.

Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
To Merrik Vanover No, who the hell was that? I
don't know who that is either, but he was a
return guy for the Chiefs that went to Florida State. Okay,
uh first all second round pick? Did you feel smart
saying that, Aaron Barry?

Speaker 6 (01:15:30):
No, but I did consider it. You always your first
guess is always someone I'm considering. That's what that one
time you guess Todd Gurley first and it was right.
I'm always scared of your first guest, Martin next clue.
He was drafted by the Chargers. Remember he was the
second round pick, so he was drafted by the Chargers.
Also played for multiple other teams or has played for
multiple other.

Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
Teams Chargers have played for other teams. Oh, I know
it is God. His last name was either Neil or O'Neil.
Lorenzo O'Neil no O'Neil. He was a defensive tackle. He
was the first one of the guys to wear the
Chiefs band aid across his nose was his full name.

(01:16:09):
It's not Lorenzo O'Neill. It's it's Neil, Kevin Neil, Kevin O'Neill.

Speaker 6 (01:16:14):
He's played in the NFL for nine years and he
currently has two Super Bowl rings, two super Bowl rings.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
But Jason Varrett no drafted by the Chargers. Well, hold on,
because if we've got two super Bowl rings and he's
in the league, now, he's got to be a chief.
He's got to be a chief. Yep, he's got to
be a chief. McDuffie was a first round pick, second
round pick to the Charge. Murray's picked by the Chargers though,
Oh good point. He was drafted by the CHARGERSQUI got him.

(01:16:46):
Maria flipped is you can't see the home markin I
just knew that was mar flipped his pen and linked back.
Pushed away from this now, pushed away from the mic,
and every day right now.

Speaker 6 (01:16:56):
The last clue he played for nine years, two super
Bowl rings. Next, he has scored the most touchdowns in
Colorado school history. Eric Beemy, That was correct, Eric sleeping
with the enemy, former offensive coordinator chiefs Absolutely the.

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
Last few clues.

Speaker 6 (01:17:13):
Yeah, served as both running back coaches offensive coordinator of
the Colorado Buffalos. He has both played and coached in
the Super Bowl, and he's been the offensive chiefs commanders
and now UCLA Bruins back on the boards.

Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
Thank god, it's been like a month there's a lesson
to be learned, Eric enemy, and that lesson is we
are stay where you are, where we are, stay where
you're at. Cheapit of keeper. Oh my lord, that was
I mean, deciding to go to Washington. Top five worst
coaching moves that I can think of off the top

(01:17:51):
of my head right now, which is not an exhaustive list.

Speaker 6 (01:17:53):
But remember though he had Sam Howell leading the league
and passing yard for like a couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Of people were like, we was like week four or
five and won the first one. A couple we do
like the first five weeks in the NFL. Yeah, quick side,
quick sidebar back to the us USC thing. Lindell White
posted something on Twitter just now Lindall White won a
national championship. Said, it's been twenty years of straight bleep
and mediocracy and all you bleep bleeps mfs want to

(01:18:23):
just post some bleep on the internet. All that chasing
nil money ain't gonna get you drafted. How y'all saying
asking for money and not winning is crazy. That's from
a former Trojan National championship is not wrong, running back,
He is not wrong. Wow, wow, Quinn, you weers back

(01:18:47):
in the game for Texas. Oh there you go. Yeah, okay, okay,
this is gonna go so wrong, even though now they've
driven down, they're down to the seven yard line and
they're in the red zone looking to score touch down here.
So the game's not over. Okay, we made it. We
we sat here on air and watched bammin Georgia during
our show. So this, this game's not done. Texas got guys,

(01:19:09):
Texas has got a squad two, but they've got punched
in the mouth and they got to get up off
the mat right now and stay up. They can't get
punched again. Yeah, let's just see. This is this is Oh,
this is rough, this is this is hard to watch. Honestly.
He had three linemen just now pushed right back in
his lap. Not one not to he had three linemen.
Georgia took three offensive linemen and pushed him on the

(01:19:30):
on the right side. All three of them get pushed
right back into a yard and two from in front
of them. So Patrick Mahomes is an underdog for what
I believe is the fourteenth time in his NFL career.
I'll tell you what, I'm probably gonna bet on him. Well,
half the rest of our picks coming up in just

(01:19:51):
a minute.

Speaker 1 (01:19:53):
Sports radio.

Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
That's right, it 'brodcaft In live from the tire iraq
dot com studios, tire iraq dot com. Well up, you
get there with an unmached selection, fast, free shipping, free
realms of protection, and over ten thousand recommending the dollars
tirereck dot com. This is the way that tire buying
should be.

Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
What in the world.

Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
Watermelon juice? Well, let's see Martin real quick. You haven't
said anything, you guys. My feelings are kind of hurt
in you too, you too, marry you too? Now, I
was gonna let you cook. You guys have not said
anything about my football cup I saw, but I wasn't
gonna question it. Why would you? This is this is

(01:20:33):
this is dope, no it is. I was like, you know,
I'm gonna let him do him. Okay. I wanted attention
for it. I thought, look, ego, yeah, okay, Well I
got a little one all right, one of his kids
right there. I was, where if that football cup this
is mine the whole time? His kid right, this is mine? Man?
All right, anyway, let's speak. Let's see if his football

(01:20:55):
picks have as much Juice as his football cup though
it's time were the time mcdogs all right VJ. This
is how we normally do. We try to spot out
three teams that have a great shot at upsetting their opponent.
Last week didn't go so well. Fourteen I think I
like some like twelve favorites, one like that that that
doesn't work for this. But we have done well on

(01:21:16):
this this year, especially weeks two and three. VJ. Your
first atomic dog, my first one man. That's just cash.
And then tomorrow is my Dolphins man. We go to
Indianapolis to play Uncle Flacco, not unless Riches is gonna
be ready. He was games on. This is just still
held out last week, but they are three point underdog
on the road. I don't love the offense, but the

(01:21:37):
defense is still top five in the league. We can
stop people they're not by blowing past a lot of people,
scoring a lot of points. I think this could be
a fard fault game. We've coming up with a bye week,
got some health back, got time to kind of get
our backup, corner back, our guys huntling them there, just
a little more acclimated to just go get one more
because we get ooh so back next week. So I'll

(01:21:59):
take the Dolphins man on a road and pull off
a dog win tomorrow in And that was for my
first guaranteed dog. My first dog is if this game
is a little bit earlier than I'd like it to be,
I knew you were going here. I need the New
England Patriots are gonna go into Jacksonville, I'm sorry, go
into London, which is Jacksonville like the second home, right,

(01:22:19):
they try to make it the Jacksonville Ta. You know
what they're gonna do. They're gonna get pounded tomorrow by
the New England Patriots and Drake May who's gonna have
three touchdowns, no one pick he throws, one pick, he
throws one pick. I'll give you three touchdowns, one turnover
over two hundred and fifty yards passing for Drake Man

(01:22:40):
and for Doug Peterson's post game press conference is going
to be the saddest thing you hear tomorrow. This one
might shock a lot of you guys, but they should
have lost last week, and I didn't think they were
going to and they almost did. Give me. The New
York Giants at home tomorrow. Three Philadelphia. There's not a
guy outside of Philadelphia that's been defending you as much

(01:23:04):
as the big Vanilla fuddy since your Super Bowl appears
where you should have beat the Kansas City Chiefs. But
I'm kind of getting pulled to the other side now
because you're making everybody else look right against me right now,
and I don't like that. My mom's a New York
Giants fan. My grandfather RP Is a New York Giants
was a New York Giants fan. So I'm going with
family tomorrow. Plus it's in New York. They are going
to be waiting on mister sain Kwan Barkley in life tomorrow.

(01:23:28):
Give me that as my middle of the road fifty
to fifty dog tomorrow. Give me the Giants at home
plus three to upset the Philadelphia Eagles on It starts
through real conversations in the City of brother Love. We
normally don't do this, We normally pick different games. But
you know what, damn it, I don't care. I'm taking
the Giants too, for all the reasons that he just said. Also,
the Giants abjectly not terrible. They're not not terrible. They're

(01:23:52):
they're not quite good yet, but they're not terrible. The
Eagles and the whole story of this is, Oh, say
call Bark, He's gonna go crazy on the Giants. I
don't know, VJ. I've watched Philadelphia's offense the first six weeks.
Saquan has been great, but that team can't who they
dialing it up to go crazy on anybody now. They're
the only team in the NFL to not have scored

(01:24:13):
a first quarter touchdown. Give me the New York Giants
my third and final dog. There are like four games
I could have chosen, but I'm gonna go for one.
That thing is the most obvious. Give me the Chiefs
on the road at San Francisco tomorrow plus two, two
point underdog. What the hell is Vegas doing here? San
Francisco hasn't looked great. They're three and three, they're five

(01:24:35):
hundred football team. Things are a lot different for mister
Party when you don't have all your big dogs. And
that's just the way it goes to the quarterback position.
They're not gonna have Christian McCaffrey tomorrow, so that's still
gonna be an issue to run it back. I think
the running game has been really lagging here. They've had
some explosive type kind of every now and then it
hit runs, but it hasn't been consistently, and you have
the Chiefs. I've told you guys in the summer, i

(01:24:56):
will not do this this year. I will not start
just charg to pick against the Chiefs just to be different.
They're the Patricks to me. Now it's sah see, somebody
really beat them all the time more consistently, then I
might think about picking against them. I don't know how
Vegas has this tomorrow, but that's an easy pick for me.
Give me the Chiefs on the road two point underd
dollars at Samssco to get the dub and move to
seeks and O. You know, Patrick Mahomes is eleven to

(01:25:19):
one and one against the spread when he's an underdog,
eleven one and one. I'll take that. What I'll take that.
I also agree with that. That would have been my
number one, but since you did it, I'll go with
another one. Give me the Lions that go into that
one too. Said the Vikings. I mean, right now, the
Vikings are favorites in this game because they're of the record, right,

(01:25:39):
that's what That's what it boil exactly. Yes, they're thinking
the Lions are gonna have a major loss with Hutchinson,
and don't get me wrong, he is a major loss.
But that team is gonna be so motivated to go
out there and like win one for the Gipper quote unquote,
I think Minnesota is seeing this Lions team at the
wrong time. First place tomorrow. Let's go ahead, get to
the picks, all.

Speaker 6 (01:25:59):
Right, just waiting for the music. There we go, all right,
NFL Picks Week six, Just updating the score here. Overall,
you guys are actually tied now sixteen and twelve for
both of you on the season.

Speaker 2 (01:26:12):
Last week you did Yes, I did have a good week. Yes,
I did. I cashed there last week.

Speaker 6 (01:26:17):
Yeah yeah, VJ you actually went four and oh Martin
you were three and one. So it was good, good
week for both of you, but a little bit better
better for v.

Speaker 2 (01:26:25):
I love it. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:26:25):
All right, let's move into week seven, so we will
start with the Cincinnati Bengals versus the Cleveland Browns. The Bengals,
as you guys might expect, are favored, and it's by
five and a half points.

Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
Martin, will start with you. Five and a half is
a weird place, man, It's a weird place. I don't
love these lines, but you know what I'm gonna do.
I'm just take the better team. I know that there's
not much difference in record here, but when you look
at the offenses between Cincinnati and Cleveland, there are not
two things further apart, right, I mean that thing. It
is a wide gap between the way they able to score.

(01:26:57):
Cincinnati just outscores them twenty four to thirteen. Bengals. Division
games normally really tough, even when one team's bad. Bengals
good offense to great offense, Browns great defense at home.
This was this one is not as easy for me
as as it is for Mario. Give me the Browns

(01:27:20):
decover here. I think the Browns do cover. It is
five and a half. It's a division game. We're in October, guys,
Deans get really weird this time of year in these
type of games. Hey, I think the Bengals win, but
give me, give me the Browns the cover here. I'll
take the Browns in that five and a half. All right.

Speaker 6 (01:27:32):
Next up, Packers versus Texans. Pretty good game, as you
guys talked about earlier. Packers are favored by two and
a half points. Though, what do we think Martin will
start with you?

Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
I'll take Texas to cover. I'll take the Texas to cover.
Matt Lafloor is a really good coach. I have to
like actually give him credit now. He's a really good coach.
He knows what he's doing. Special teams he opts out
of that for whatever reason. That they're three points, Matt,
they still count. You can have a kicker that's really good.
I promise you. They're out there. But I'm gonna take
the Texans. They've been up and down to me all year.

(01:28:02):
But something about this Tuccion Texans defense I think is
gonna have a little bit of trouble for Jordan Love.
This is a really tight game for me, man. It
really just because I can see the Texans going in
there and get in the dub. But the Packers do
play tough at home. This defense is really really good. No,
Nico Collins Tankdale can't do it by himself. If you're Jordan,

(01:28:23):
if you're CJ. Strott, I will take them over, Love.
But you're looking at a different secondary tomorrow, young man.
It's gonna be tough, especially on the road. Give me
the Packers here to cover this two and a half.
I'll take the pack on this to cover this game
on the two and a half man and get the dove.
All right, you guys are you know you're you're going
opposite ways on both of them, trying to create a
little space here. It's either gonna be him in the
lead next week or I'm gonna create some space.

Speaker 6 (01:28:43):
Yep, yeah, all right. Next up we have the Jets
versus the Steelers. Jets are favored by two. As you
guys said, there's a lot the starting quarterback could be
swaying that line a little. All we know is the
Steelers were favored a few days ago. Now it's the
Jets by two whole points. What do you guys think normally?

Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
I this is a spot just set in a forget it?
Do you see Mike Tomlin as a short underdog that's
time to bet now? Was a short favorite state of
hell away. But this I can't in good conscience. I
cannot justify this move. I cannot put my money on
the Pittsburgh Steelers knowing that they are starting the worst
option at quarterback. Like neither one of them are great,

(01:29:18):
but it's like the difference between Antarctica and Alaska. At
least one of them has the summer. You know what
I'm saying, one of them has a time where you can,
you know, maybe go swimming out. Give me the New
York Jets. Yuck. Yeah, I'm saying too. I'm saying two
points right now to just being favored by to in

(01:29:39):
this game. I'm with Martin. The Jets have a really
good defense, and I don't think Russell Wilson is gonna
move to bal tomorrow. He's gonna have They're gonna have
proms trying to score. I think they Jets have enough
offense though, to get two touchdown passes at a discount
double check. And if you run the ball with Breize
Hall enough efficiently that the still believe you're gonna run

(01:30:02):
the football, they you should be able to work out
for play action and hit some of your receivers downfield.
So I'm with you on this one, Martin. I'll take
the Jets to cover this. Maybe a three point one.
This looks like seventeen twenty twenty one, eighteen, something like that.
The over unders thirty nine to thirty nine and a half,
So no one's exploding in this game. Both teams are
gonna be under twenty four points.

Speaker 6 (01:30:20):
Give me a just to cover all right next up,
the Baltimore Ravens are going to Tampa Bay and they're
favored by three and a half points.

Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
What do we think? This is a statement game? But
for more most people, it's a statement game for the Bucks.
I think this is a statement game for the Ravens
because this is the kind of game the Ravens can
go into and win this game and then kind of
put away some of the noise we're hearing about the Ravens,
even though they've been playing really really good. Right But
you lose to the Raiders and then you're a toll

(01:30:48):
away from beating the Chiefs, so you still got two
losses on your record right now. But this is a game.
You go on the road, you flex your muscle, you
punch them in the mouth, you run Derick Henry. The
Bucks got a good defense, too, but we got a
good offense over here. The Ravens are concerned. Throw the
ball around to say, Lamar, do your thing. I think
they want the close game here, Give me the Ravens
here to cover. What's the spread on this? I'm sorry
three and a half? Oh yeah, give me a ray

(01:31:09):
oh three and a half?

Speaker 3 (01:31:12):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
I hate that, maryad Why why is it not two
or two and a half? Three and a half. I
think it's supposed to be hard. That's the point. I
see the stress in your eyes. Oh my god, three
and a half for the oh man, because I see
its tight gain. It's gonna be close. I see it
tight gain. So and three is not gonna get it done.
Oh man, it sucks. All right, I'm gonna stick with

(01:31:35):
my guns. Give me the Ravens the cover, all right,
all right, sticking with your guns. I like it last.
I got to pick it too. I'll go with the
Buccaneers here. I know you are. We'll hear your pick.
I mean, just in case people are curious, you know,
I don't know. Maybe I'm taking the Buccaneers. This is
gonna be a two score game until the very last second.
When it's not. You're gonna be sitting back here with

(01:31:55):
that three and a half ticket being like why did
I buy the hook?

Speaker 6 (01:32:00):
All right, now we can move on last, last, but
not least. And this is the other Monday night of
It's a doubleheader. Yeah, Monday night football at Copts. Yeahupid,
the Chargers versus the Cardinals. Chargers Jim Harbaugh, they are
favored by just a point and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:32:13):
What do we think gotta take the Cardinals here? It's
now at this point last VJ outlined earlier in the show,
put up or shut up? Time for Arizona. If they're
gonna do anything I thought they had the opportunity to
do it, they need to go out here and win
this game. There's no doubt about it. They have to
win this game to be able to do the things
that I thought they had a chance of doing. When

(01:32:35):
this team is on, they're on, they're one of the
best in football. When they're off, they're one of the worst.
It drives me nuts. But really quick about the Cardinals,
this is how they've always been, even when they had
Kurt Warner. Remember they were either just really really on
or we'd see them lose games thirty eight to forty one. Right,
you put up almost forty points, but you give up
forty one. That's this team right here. And I think
the Chargers go in, they control the line of screamage,

(01:32:56):
They beat them up. They keeps Kyler Kanna in a box.
This is me Burger's man. This is what he does
last week going into Denver, pounding them the way they did.
We're starting to see the type of team he's put together.
Oh yeah, we see all this before, Sandy Universe of
San Diego, Michigan. Uh, the Samas for forty nine ers,
like we've seen him do to Stanford. So I think
he does it tomorrow. They take him in there, they're
going there. They beat him up, they pound them, they win,

(01:33:18):
and they cover this game. This is a easy spread
for me that Oh my goodness, I just had to no,
I already picked it, already picked it up. Cardinals my
fault and that will do it for our picks today.
Hopefully we make some money. Week seven, Week seven, it's
flying by, guys. Yeah, it's flying by and bye. I'll
cover my first game tomorrow, so I'll be in so
far for the Raiders and the Rams raidersp I'll be

(01:33:41):
there covering the game tomorrow. That injury list is strong.
Both teams sneaky. I like Vegas. I like Vegas. There
I can I can see Rams are sitting at one
and four. That's another team that, hey man, you gotta make.
You gotta win this game tomorrow. You need to start
to maybe maybe peel back on this season. And the
injuries have a lot to do with it. But it
is what it is. Coming up next. Patrick mahomes the

(01:34:03):
best quarterback in the game, but are the Chiefs doing
him a disservice? Get to that in just a moment.
Martin White's bj Husky Fox Sports Football Saturday. Hey, it's
getting a little spicy out here. Man, You got sir,
you got it. It's un Austin. Man, it's getting hype

(01:34:23):
in the Bronxy. You know, tie game two two one
off for the year, trying to end this series, but
to just hit her home running tide that game. And
now we have students at the University of Texas voicing
their displeasure. Uh, I say, voising their pleasure. They're throwing
They're just pleasure on the field, throwing beer and and

(01:34:47):
different assorted drinks onto the field after Carson beck through
an interception and then if the play was reversed on
a questionable call. I say, it's questionable because apparently VJ
and I disagree on He thinks it was clearly a penalty.
I thought it was a horrible call. But uh, Texas
fans agree with me. But sad to see Steve's occasion

(01:35:08):
walk out into the field basically to the student section
to say, guys, please diagonal lodro both hands up saying stop, stop, stop,
the cheerleaders, the band, all that as a probably that
they get the big security they're trying to get. You
try to get them to stop throwing, to get the
stuff off the field too. Now on the call. This
is why, this is why they make the call in
college football, especially when you talking about dvs and receivers.

(01:35:29):
When you're pushing down field. Once you get pass guys
at least eight nine yards, you just it is the rule.
You just can't grab it. You can't touch the guy.
You can't. I don't like it. But when he does
put his hand on his shoulder and kind of pull
the jersey just slightly, that's what the ref saw. That's
what he's gonna throw the flag on. It's if it's
incomplete pass, we're not having this discussion. But the fact

(01:35:49):
that it's a pick and it wasn't a bad throw.
I think the receiver runs way. I think the receiver
runs the reps. They changed the call back then, so
it is an interception. So it is an interception. Wow. Wow,
And now Kirby is going off right now to the reps. Wow.
Everybody's losing. Yeah, well, first of all, let's stick to that, Steve.

(01:36:09):
Is that can they do that?

Speaker 3 (01:36:11):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:36:13):
Say hold up, they can't. They can't pick up a
flag after that and say it wasn't defensive. It wasn't
defensive holding like you do the flag, you marked it
off and and mind you there.

Speaker 5 (01:36:25):
It's gonna be first in gold Texas it has.

Speaker 2 (01:36:27):
There hasn't been a play made, an actual snap in
this game for like ten actual minutes. Yeah. I was saying,
like ten minutes in real time because they have to
clear everything up. This is bad. Look at look at
look at Kirby, right, this is bad. Y oh god,
he is hot. I'd be furious. That's real, son, Yeah
he is hot right now? My whoa? Yeah, his handler
has to come grab him by the belt and say

(01:36:48):
all right, hey buddy, yeah, relips, we can we can relips.

Speaker 3 (01:36:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
They can't do that though, right, Steve, like they you can't. Wow,
oh wow. You've seen flags get picked up before, but
I think this one that you might have just wanted
to let it let's sleep here.

Speaker 5 (01:37:08):
There was nothing unusual that pass wasn't tipped or somebody
ran out of bounds or I saw nothing like that.
So I would like an explanation. Texas has first and goal,
they have the ball, as it turns out, late third
corner this game.

Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
It's just so people always have this conversation, which one's
better college football in the NFL. There're two different things,
very much because like this type of stuff only happens
in college fool absolutely type of this, the way that
this game is just off the rails right now. Yeah,
well now now throwing stuff on the field as far
as that goes. Steve will remember this, Steve, I know

(01:37:41):
you remember Sam Whitch getting on the mic and the
famous You're not in Cleveland when he was coaching here
at Cincinnati because they were throwing stuff onto the field.
And then also, Steve, I know you remember this one,
the ice throwing incident between the Chargers and the New
York Giants. To this, they hit a coach and knocked

(01:38:02):
the coach out. Junior say, out lord, rest his soul
is going ballistic at a fan in the stands. Those
are two crowd. I've seen crowd throwing stuff. So somebody
was throwing batteries at John Rocker when he was a
closer for the Braves at one point. I've seen stuff
but those those kind of things stick out in my mind.

Speaker 5 (01:38:19):
And Texas Texas quickly responds with a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:38:23):
Yeah, and see, that's what makes this reversal game.

Speaker 5 (01:38:27):
On the game you referenced, the Chargers were playing in
the snow. There was so much snow with it they
didn't clear out of the stands at Giant Stadium, and
so it was one projectile after another anytime the visitors
came close to the stands, close to the end zone.

Speaker 2 (01:38:42):
If you remember, at one point they had all the
players kind of standing as close to the sideline as
they could. They didn't want him sitting in the b
on the bid. They didn't want them back there because
the New York Giant fans because at that point, if
I remember correctly, the Giants were really bad.

Speaker 5 (01:38:55):
And I think that was the Charger team that started
h and four and still made it.

Speaker 2 (01:38:59):
Absolutely and went to the Super Bowl. That you're correct,
Stan Huphries's quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:39:02):
It was just before that, just before the year they
got blown out by the night was Sid Brooks, the
longtime equipment manager who I mean like went down on
the field.

Speaker 2 (01:39:11):
He knocked them out on impact.

Speaker 5 (01:39:13):
Yeah, it wasn't just a snowball, like playing around the kids.
It was like big hunk of ice thrown from this time.

Speaker 2 (01:39:19):
You're from code areas, you know how in Michigan. You
know how like two or three days after it snows,
the snow then turns the ice yep, but you can
still kind of like pick chunks of it up. So
it's not a snowball. You're throwing a chunk of ice
at someone. And a fan from maybe about thirty rows
up and it hit equipment and it hit him, flushed
and the guy he went down immediately knocked out. So

(01:39:41):
though incidents like that they needed control. But uh, back
to this game twenty three fifteen, two twelve left in
the third quarter, game on here we go. I hate,
I hate to use the C word, but that that
change of the call, I mean that the ball was
returned all the way down inside the five. You know
you don't want to take that away, right, So fifteen
hundreds of points. We'll see what this game goes. See

(01:40:02):
if Georgia can rebound here, if Sark somehow pulls this out, God,
that post that press conference would be electric. Oh he'll
look like a genie, will look like a because he
calmed down Quinn by pulling him out. He calmed him down.
He saw how much calmer he was, and it said,
I'm not gonna lie. If I'm sarking, I win this game.
I'm coming out arrogant at the press conference too, talking

(01:40:25):
smack too. I tell you this, right here, right now.
I do not want to hear a single person ever.
Y'all all hear my voice. Do not come on this
radio or anywhere else they tell me that Carson Beck
is a top ten pick. Do not do it. I'm
check of it. I'm not I will not stand for it.
I will have your jobs like Jerry Jones tried to
fire Thos Holson Dallas. I'll tell you this, it does.

(01:40:49):
It is gonna happen. Though it's gonna happen, gonna it's
gonna happen. People are gonna think he's gonna be a
first round draft pick. You're gonna hear it. Top ten,
top twelve, top fifteen, somewhere there. But it's gonna happen.
All the ten is a pro day for him to
have a few more good games the rest of the year.
And you know you remember, you remember Will Levish? How
will remember Will Levis the calls traded up to Florida.

(01:41:09):
Get well, no they didn't. That was a piece of paper.
Will Van drafted Will Levis in the top five picks.
I was gonna eat a piece of paper, Mitchell Trubisky.
There's another one for you right here in those bets,
Zach Wilson. There's another one every year, Mari And so
you know it's going to be somebody. He's probably gonna
be the guy from people who did not make it.

(01:41:29):
Basically the names of vjas listening off. We'll go ahead,
kick it off to the true professional here, Steve de Sager.
He always makes it.

Speaker 5 (01:41:35):
I'm saying, so we have a talking point win or
lose for Texas tonight. If you're no kidding what just
happened here late third quarter? And it does seem apparent that,
you know, we've seen officials huddle together and figure out
a call and sometimes pick up a flag. The thing
is that seemed to happen while there was a long
delay in the game because the Texas students, upset with

(01:41:57):
your original call, had thrown so many bots on the
field and delayed the game. So what are you saying?
You're rewarding the home student section for delaying the game
because it gave the refs more time to think about
it and pick up the flag. Because shortly after that,
Texas throws a touchdown pass and the Longhorns team rank
number one, that was down to Georgia twenty three to

(01:42:19):
nothing at the half is now down twenty three fifteen
with about a minute left in the third quarter. Georgia's
quarterback Carson Beck had two early interceptions. Texas did not capitalize.
Beck is eighteen of thirty three passing for only ninety
nine yards in this game. In thirty three attempts, he
only has ninety nine yards passing quinn Ewers. By the

(01:42:40):
way second half is back in the game, he has
a fumble, he has an interception, but he has two
touchdown passes now as well. Wow victories for Clemson and
notre to am wins for Texas, A and M and Indiana.
That was a big noon game today, ripping Nebraska fifty
six to seven. Eighth ranked LSU has won at Arkansas
thirty four to ten. Tennessee beat Alabama twenty four seventeen

(01:43:04):
with ten points in the last six minutes. Six thran
Miami won fifty two forty five at Louisville cam Ward
four touchdown passes nearly one thousand total yards in that
game combined on Fox TV mid fourth quarter, Number seventeen
Kansas State leads thirty eight sixteen at West Virginia twelve
minutes to go. UCF still ahead at number nine Iowa

(01:43:26):
State twenty eight to twenty seven, and number twenty one
SMU leads at Stanford thirty one ten in the third quarter,
also in progress at Michigan State about two minutes to go.
It's a touchdown for the Spartans. They're up thirty one
twenty over Iowa. At Florida Gators over Kentucky late in
the third thirty four to twenty, and there's a battle

(01:43:48):
of five and one teams, with Memphis ahead of North
Texas starting the fourth quarter thirty five thirty one, Army
and Navy each one. Illinois beat Michigan twenty one seven,
and nineteenth rank Misso came from behind to beat Auburn
on a touchdown in the final minute twenty one seventeen.
More excitement for Yankee fans watching another playoff homer from

(01:44:10):
Gencarlos Stanton. The Yanks with a chance to clinch the
Pennant Tonight are tied to two at Cleveland in the
bottom of the seventh inning. This ALCS tied at three
games at three games to one. Excuse me, Tonight's game
is tied, so we don't know yet if there's a
game six coming on Monday. If so, it'll be at
Yankee Stadium. NLCS Game six will be Sunday night in LA.

(01:44:31):
Dodgers up three games to two, hosts the Mets on
FS one again. Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is out
with a sprained shoulder, and in Major League Soccer final
night of the regular season, Leo Messi with three late
goals Miami one six to two against New England.

Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin and BJA coming to
you a lot from a tire rack dot Com Studios.
You can get us on Twitter if you'd like to.
You can tweak the show. I'm at Martin Weiss, BJA
is at the Big Vanilla funny like Brendan b eighty one. Yeah,
please read that one yay or nay? He asks. The
Raiders will lose every single game the rest of twenty

(01:45:07):
vj HNY. They'll get they'll get another dub man, let's
see you. They have upcoming in order, the Rams, the Chiefs,
the Bengals, the Dolphins, the Broncos, the Chiefs, the Buccaneers,
the Falcons. They'll get one, and I think the one
they're not going to lose out. They'll get one. No
one's going one in sixteen. I think the one will

(01:45:28):
be tomorrow. Okay, you did it, Gains. Then after that
it's tough. You're looking Chiefs L. Bengals L. Dolphins a
toss up, right, Broncos, toss up Chiefs again another L.
So you're looking at best two and three in the
next five. Yeah, that'll be tough to man. I want
to get one in from fourteenth and any cause I

(01:45:49):
love this dude. Man, he'd be talking so much smacks.
And we talked about last week or last season, talking
about Michigan. Yeah, y'all, boys, stay on topic. We talking
about today's gay versus Illinois because at Martin Wise, I'm
happy as hell. I'm smoking Gash Chilling, always gonna speak
my mind. Y'all better be lucky. I listen loyally and
then bleeve, Hey, look man, we love you. You know

(01:46:11):
that we appreciate you. Listen loyally man, But we could
talk about last year. So we won a championship. Where's
Ohio States Championship? As I said, you spent twenty one
million dollars and you're not going undefeated for twenty one
million dollars. You need to be fifteen and no all
not losing an Oregon and possibly gonna cost up another
game this year, Bro, So stop it. Your Ohio State

(01:46:32):
fans killed me. Ain't won nothing in so long, but
y'all matter our championship that we still get to walk around. Hey,
guess what until this season's over. Guess who is still
the reigning, defending, undisputed National College football champions The Michigan
freaking Wolf Range. I almost just had to hit the
dump button on myself again. So stop it. Go win

(01:46:53):
something first, bro, with your twenty one million dollar roster.
And you can't go beat Oregon. Get out, I mean,
tell your secondary s stop getting burnt like that on
national TV up at Oregon. Tell your quarterback they know
to throw the ball away and not wait six seconds
and slide it cost in the game up at Oregon.
Don't get me going, dog, I love you, but don't

(01:47:13):
don't get me going we're champions. You're not the hell period.
If Michigan beats Ohio State this year, he won't be
nowhere found where if he last week, I mean nothing,
it'll be him. He tweets us every week. But if
Michigan beats Ohio State this week this year, do you
know and understand the calamity that will occur in Columbus

(01:47:36):
everybody gone the scot like you're talking about the sky
fall and the thing that's crazy about it. It will
not be an eliminating loss if they do, like you
know what I'm saying, they'll still be probably make the playoffs.
You know what I'm saying, the two losses, but it
will be it'll be more our season. One of the
Ryan Day is going to have to move. Yeah, he's

(01:47:56):
gonna have to move. He can never go back to
the state. He can never go back to You will
have a chopper in to practice because it'll be too dangerous.
Like Jerry said the other it's a tough time. He
might not make the bowl game if he loses the
Michigan he might not coach them in the college playoffs.
Are you would you would you still keep them? I
think they would, but it would be dumb as hell,

(01:48:16):
be a lot. It would be. He'd be lame duck
and he'd know it. He'd know it. He'd be lame
duck and he'd know it. Y'all just thinking about this.
When I was in college, we didn't have beer at
the stadium at college. I think they've now since changed
the rule. There was no beer at the Big House.
There wasn't I think there is now, but there was, wow,

(01:48:36):
and I think that probably a beer at How much
do you think a beer costs at Georgia, Texas? Like
fifteen bucks this game tonight? No, no, no, no, twelve
ten bucks, twelve, ten, ten to twelve. How much is
a beer Dodger game? Like twelve? Right, the much of
it that does the Big joint, it's at least fifteen.

Speaker 6 (01:48:58):
But I don't know about Dodger games, but I know
it at at the Coliseum at USC games and they
get up there, that's like somewhere between fifteen and eighteen.

Speaker 2 (01:49:04):
Okay, beer absurd. Let's just say it's fifteen dollars. Hundreds
of dollars beer got thrown down on the field because
that's how much beer. I was wondering where he was
going with this. But these are college kids. He could
like sneak a beer in No, no, no, no, not not.

(01:49:25):
These are arena again, these are now you can't sneak.
You might, you might be able to sneak at something
you know, like a like a nip, like a nip,
or something you want like a buzz ball. But either way,
either way, at least five hundred dollars worth of liquor
got wasted off of that garden. I mean, it's worth it.
They got the flag overturned, You're worth it. Well, you

(01:49:46):
heard Steve say. They rewarded the student section. They rewarded
them for protesting like that and throwing bottles onto the
field and uh and protests of that call. So the
Texas are I don't drink it pro sporting events. So
I don't know. I haven't had an alcoholic drink at
a pro sporting event in a decade because I just

(01:50:08):
you know, I don't want to people act stupid, people
are crazy. I'm the designated driver. I'm the designated sober guy.
You know what I'm saying, Just in case anything pop
off with who I'm with. One of us, one of
us can't be drunk like Martin. I go like one
of us can't Like if a fight break out, one
of us got to be sober to either try to
stop the fight or at least try to land good punches.
Like drunk people don't throw a good punches. You see

(01:50:30):
drunk people fight in the stadiums to fight suck. They're
not fighting. And it's uneven one guy standing above one
because you're on the stairs, you're in the stadium. That's
an that's an unfair fight. Sober guys, they not guys
clean out pro sporting events. I'll be honest, so much
tried to fight me at a game. I'm running, running
where I'm where, to the concourse. I'm done, I'm out.

(01:50:50):
I'm running. Imagine you slip like trying to go down
the stairs. But I'm on the move. Y'all will not
see a viral video of me getting beat up. Now
you would may see me he running turning tail. You
know what I say? That's absolutely right. Lived to fight
another day or live to run another day. How about
that Raynell a Laker game once and these two guys
behind us get into it. Two guys come in late.

(01:51:11):
They come in like the third quarter, and you can smell,
you can smell the alcohol and the two guys that
come in late. The guy sitting next to them is
a middle aged at middle aged guy, and he's got
his son. Son's probably about eight or nine. But these
two guys are cussing up a storm, talking up a storm.
Da da da da da. He just looks at them.
At one point he goes, guys, look, I got my
son right here. If you don't like what's going on
with the Lakers or or whatever, you know, just kind

(01:51:32):
of keep it to yourself. Got my son, you could
tell everybody around us. It's getting kind of irritated by
these two guys. One guy leans over and looks at him.
He goes, you know, iwt's how people end up like unconscious,
laden parking lots and stuff like that. Right He says
it to the guy. He then tells his friend, hey,
you know what we leave when they leave, basically like
threatening the guy right now. I was like, come on this.
I said, no, no, no, no, no no no no no,

(01:51:52):
do not move, do not make a move. I wish
one of these dudes would touch you, or would touch me.
I'm about the move. You better keep whatever beef y'all
going back there more than the story. The guy that
they're talking to pulls his badge out is the LPD
officer calls the other LPD guys down, Hey, won't you
guys come with us? You're threatening the cop. He's like

(01:52:13):
what It was the funniest thing that these guys start
trying to scare and punk this guy, not knowing that
they're talking to an off dude police officer, and he
just kind of calls his boys. They walk down the steps,
get him, put him in cuffs, take them out. That's
why you just go to games and chill, man. But
you can smell the alcohol off those guys, all right, VJ,
do this like an angry textas fan after that pass

(01:52:35):
in deference call? That would be more like too much
like the Alabama thing I did earlier though fair enough. Yeah,
it would be here. Let me do a record. We
haven't done it regular in a while. Go ahead, go
for it. Shortly after the show, our podcast will be
going up. If you're missing it today's show, be sure
to check out that podcast. Just search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get you or is it but guess and

(01:52:57):
you're listening to it. Be sure to follow, rate and
review the podcast Mike again. Just search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcast. We'll see this show posted
right after making we get off the air. Terrible. Coming
up next, we saw a I guess legend in the game.
Hang them up. This is why this is not a
bad thing. I'll explain. Coming up next, Martin wisse vja Husky,

(01:53:19):
Fox Sports Football Saturday. You Can't Coach Forever VJ. Martin
wisse Vja Husky coming to you live from the tire
rack dot Com Studios. Next, coming up next, keeping the
seat warm right now for Aaron Torres and Jason Martin.
That's you know what for my dollar, the best college
football recap show that's out there. Aaron Martin, I mean,
Aaron Torres and Jason Martin can't go wrong and one

(01:53:41):
of them is always a good listen on my way
home or wherever I'm heading out there and leave here
elite last name for Jason there too, elite. Hard to
get better. So Tony Bennett retires yesterday and you know,
oh my gosh, j can you believe it? The ANI
it's throwing it far. Tony Bennett retired, Guys, just chill.

(01:54:07):
Nil is not ruining college sports. It's just not. It's
just not your transfer portal is way worse than any
nil deal. Yeah, absolutely, it's way worse, all right. And
the idea that Tony Bennett retired, I'm sorry, Like if
the only issue I really have about it is the
timing because you start like next week, but they've already started,

(01:54:31):
you know what I'm saying. The real I feel you,
but the real programs they're virus. I'm trying to figure
out the nicest way to phrase this. But who cares? Like,
why is this such a big off? This is college
basketball losing all our legends. There will be new ones made.
It's how it works, guys, It's how it happens. Tom

(01:54:52):
Brady and Bill Belichick. Neither one of them are on
NFL sidelines. You know what I'm gonna do all day tomorrow?
Watch football?

Speaker 3 (01:55:00):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:55:00):
Yeah? When Michael Jordan retired, you know what happened. People
still watch the NBA. Sure, when Lebron James eventually retires,
you know what's gonna happen. I don't know, VJ. I
think they're gonna have a season. Yeah, they might. They might.
They might have a season. I'm not sure if they
will because he's like so important. Maybe they just canceled
basketball forever, like no more basketball. This is canceled it

(01:55:24):
thing just canceled the season. Oh gos Tony Bennett retired.
Is the a SEC even the ACC. No, These things
going waves. Guys, they going waves. They're going Syracuse had
a time. It was really good. Now they're figuring out
without Beehuont. Michigan basketball the twenty tens was one of
the best programs in the nation. Now they're figuring out
again after Juwan Howard. Right, this is how it goes. Also,

(01:55:46):
let me mention too, when Bill Guthriz took over Carolina
for Dean Smith, got to a national championship game and
the final four. But then they gave the the the
program to Dartery, who had played there before. They went
eight and twenty in his second year. He was out
of the door within three years. And then you get
Roy Williams to come in and clean it back up.
And Roy goes the four, four more final fours and

(01:56:07):
wins two more national championships for our three nationalships excuse
me for University of North Carolina. So Martin's right, these
things go on a ways. Dukes, they've been able to
survive without coach k but give Shire two or three
more years. It's not gonna be the same guys. Tony
Benness not even a guy did it shocked me, like
Martin said, because of the timing. But I'm getting tired

(01:56:28):
of people blaming Nil. It's not nil. That's just the
code word of we don't like the kids having power.
We're used to being able to be the big boss,
the masters, the masses, the bullies, whatever term you on you,
we're you. We're too used to that. We don't like
that these kids actually have say in their life, actually

(01:56:48):
have say in their collegiate career. Lord forbid that we
give kids all the power in the world to be
in a damn influencer. Hawktua can get fifty thousand per
appearance and now got a podcast. But no, a kid
that's going to class educating himself at a higher level,
what is it a higher learning of academia? Oh no,

(01:57:10):
we don't. We want to be able to control him.
He's not allowed to do any damn thing. I'm tired
of it. It's not nil. Mark just said it. It's
your transfer portal and Ben it's been a good coach
for thirty three one oh nine seventy one percentage as
far as his winning goes one national championship went to
a final four. Oh by the way, let's not forget

(01:57:31):
he is the one in sixteen guy. Like you know,
he is the one verse sixteen guy. He's the answer
in one in sixteen. He's the one answer It's his team. So,
I mean, you know, kudos to you, brother, congrats, you know,
shout out. He's been in Virginia for our long time.
Before that, he was I mean, he was at Washington
State before that. So you know, it is what it is.

(01:57:54):
But my thing is just stop trying to stop blaming
the kids getting money as college for all worse in
Has it looked bad to you this year? Is it
