Bo right there, all right, Bo, and happy birthday.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
And by the way, he's got his Eagles cap on.
Remember he had disowned his team. He's getting ready. It's
gonna be a little tough for us. Rich Well, he's
back after.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
The huge win over the Cleveland Browns, who have just
been storming course over the a f See.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Surely his Philadelphia.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Pride has returned in magnificent fashion.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Am I right bow and happy birthday too.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
Shout out to Nick Sirianni for yelling at the fans,
which is what we've always wanted to do.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
We needed it. Nobody was shouting to the fans.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
I just I found this out, so they had like
the behind the game, the sounds behind the game things on.
Syrianni was miked up and he was going, everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
It's Bob Benson's birthday next Sunday.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Everybody listen to me Bob Benson, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Tune in to Renzo. He was shouting at at the
top of his lug.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
What was impressed about that Eagles win, of course, was
they found a way to neutralize to Sean yeah yeah uh.
Now also today we have we're up against it because Chris,
as you know, is someone that follows the Lions.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
He admitted to me yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
I was talking to him about have you ever enjoyed
a game more than that Lion's blowout win against the
Cowboys last week?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Chris, he said, it's not not in recent memory.

Speaker 6 (02:01):
Like so maybe if you go back six years to
like eight years to a Saints game or something.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yes, the nature of that victory was.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
So we have two guys with a vested interest in
games going on right now, yep, with Bose Eagles on
the road against the Giants under yours. Huge matchup today
between the Lions and the Vikings certainly one.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Of the biggest matchups this week in the NFL. All right.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Already today the Jaguars took care of business against the Patriots,
who are who they thought I thought they were. They're
the worst team in the NFL. But I will say this,
Drake May shows promise. Does he still made a few throws?
I'm sure he'd like to have back, but at least
there's some promise in the future of the Patriots based

(02:49):
on what I've seen early on with Drake May. The
Bengals right off the bat, is that a touch that
is I think they're reviewing it right now. Ceevie stepped out,
but this looks like a touchdown right now.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Look at that return to start the day. That is unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
There was a tight rope for about fifteen yards because
one of the coverage players's this at the end he.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Got a hand. Yeah, look at this.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
The Browns coverage player got a hand on his angle's.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Oh he's in.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
That's a touch absolutely in, absolutely touchdown Bengals on the
opening kickoff of the game on the road against the
hapless Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
You imagine you're hosting a divisional rival.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
You're thinking to yourself, all right, you know what, this
is the game where we get back on track, especially
since since he is a two win team. This is
going to help us get off the snide. And on
the opening kickoff they take one to the house.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
An way, there is no Bengals without the Browns.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I remember Paul Brown, who the Browns were actually named
after their original coach, then was fired by Art Modell
and then started a new franchise in the American Football League,
the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
You know what's so crazy is the Browns are to
blame for the as well.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
So they've done it to themselves because the Browns relocated
to Baltimore in order to create the Ravens. So they're
the ones to blame for being last place in their
own division because they created two of the other teams.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
By the way of our preseason predictions, I have a
couple that are looking okay right now. One is that
the Broncos will make the playoffs as a wild card.
If the playoffs were today, believe it or not, the
Broncos are in at four and three. I had the
Patriots as the worst team in the league. And here's
one quick note. I picked Joe Burrow to be the
NFL's most valuable player. Right now today, Joe Burrow is

(04:34):
leading the entire NFL impasser rating.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
He's been phenomenal. You know what's interesting is Joe Burrow
has been phenomenal. He hasn't got enough publicity for obvious reasons.
It's because the Cincinnati Bengals record. Another guy who's been
playing phenomenal football who hasn't gotten enough attention for their
four and one record. Playing right now against division rival
the Minnesota Vikings is Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions.

(04:59):
He's had a phenomenal see as well. Now a little
bit of a slow start and he's heated up lately.
But every time I'm watching him, Mike, Jared Goff is
kind of the perfect quarterback in today's game. He's not
gonna be upset if you hand off the ball ton
He's gonna listen to his offensive coordinator. He's not gonna
force you to make personnel decisions. Like some of these quarterbacks.

(05:19):
They get older in the game, they grow an ego.
They say I want this guy, this guy, this guy,
this guy, and this guy, and you better get them
on this roster otherwise I'm gonna throw a fit. He
does none of those things. He just goes out there
and plays football. And I'll tell you what another guy
who's starting to appear to be that type of player,
he's playing against him today with Sam Darnold in the

(05:40):
Minnesota Vikings. Does what he's told by Kevin O'Connell, and
it's working for him with the Vikings.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
All right, interesting opening drive for the Lions is they're
going to be on a three and out. They had
the same offensive lineman called for holding on consecutive play.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Oh and they just ran a punt fake from fourth
and seven and it gets sniffed out by the Vikings
turnover on downs from Minnesota early in this game.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
Position, let's let's go back to those Kotio Wuxica, who's
like in for Zeitler.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
So they're already down alignment here, so.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Back to back holding calls on the same player and
now they dont and it gets snuffed out and now,
the Vikings obviously taken over in Detroit territory, trying to
get the early jump on the Lions. I'm not sure
why the Lions are doing this so early in the game.
Not I guess the idea is, if you're going to

(06:34):
do it, do it early right. Well, yes, for the
surprise factor, but if you know Minnesota can take this in.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Here's what I said about the Vikings yesterday.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Rich You know, when you look at the Vikings, their
defense is outstanding, no question about that.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
The real question about.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
The validity of the Vikings is Sam Darnold can he
maintain because last week was an off week, it was
his worst game of the year.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
They still hung on because of their defense.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
But do you believe that Sam Donald could play at
an elite level all season long?

Speaker 3 (07:06):
You know, yes, And I'll tell you why.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Because we had the carbon copy in Minnesota for a
long time and it worked out with Kevin O'Connell's system.
We had Kirk Cousins there. Kirk Cousins played the best
best seasons of his life in Minnesota with this Kevin
O'Connell offense. Sam Donald reminds me a lot of Kirk Cousins,
Like kind of just an okay guy, Wow, huge play.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Ay walking into the end zone untouched?

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Is that vik Yeah? Aaron Jones, he gets in on.
I mean he was untouched. Everybody was blocked. So I
don't know what's happening with Detroit right now, but they
have not gotten off the bus. Two straight holds, a
sack giving up and then a failed fourth down conversion
on a fake punt leads to a quick throwout to

(07:55):
the sideline by Donald and then this run play that
goes straight to the house. Aaron Jones completely untouched. You
see the safety or the force player might be a corner.
What about committed? How do you not protect the edge?
And he was yeah, that's why.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
Not only was it Hutchinson, but now down Eric Barnes
and I think we were talking about this yesterday. Seven
d linemen on IR for the Detroit Lions. It's getting thin, okay,
so seven nothing vikings there. Meanwhile, the Texans at the Packers.
This is sort of a test for the Texans today.
How good are the Texans?

Speaker 2 (08:30):
They have the second best record in the AFC right now,
five to one.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
They're on the road against the Packers.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Jordan Love is getting his game going right now, and
the Texans are driving. On their opening drive. They have
a third and four? Was that the third down play?
That was the second round place they tried third and
four at the five yard line. They actually can get
a first down here.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
CJ.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Stroud was looking for the back of the end zone
and threw it a little too high, little too deep,
and it was out of bounds. They are running out
of play clock here too, so seconds one second.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
He got it off.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
It's a third down play, scrambling, he's looking, he's looking.
He's not going to get it incomplete, fourth down, the
most likely go for the field.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Goal some year. Some people wants to go in the
first quarter.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Something to watch in this game too. Stefan Diggs was
getting into a pregame with the Packers and Jaire Alexander's
last two plays here has been getting chippy with the
Texans receivers in the end zone. So yeah, this might
be a fun one to watch it.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Yeah, go through the through today. I like Jayra Alexander.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
I like his competitiveness, but he's good for a couple
of fifteen yarders a season because he just can't help himself.
And so yeah, look I'll tell you probably you know
on paper, coming into this game, the way the Packers
are playing, you can make the argument that this is
their game to lose. But that's a five to one
record they're looking at with Houston walking in the house,

(09:50):
and I'm sure, I'm sure all of these defenders have heard.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
All week long about how good CJ.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Stroud is and how good Stefan Diggs is, and they
want to prove a lot of people here that the
Packers they're not the team that showed up in Brazil.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
They're a team that can play. By the way, if
you did not know this.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
As of this morning, the Atlanta Falcons are the two
seed in the NFC, sitting atop the NFC South with
a FOURIG and two record. They're home against the Seahawks.
Seahawks have gotten the ball down to the Atlanta twenty
yard line fourth down now, so they're gonna come on
with a field goal attempt. Yeah, Atlanta right now, two
seed in the NFC.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Well, it's pretty wild to imagine it, but Kirk Cousins
is a top ten quarterback and sheer absolutely and he's
played like a top ten quarterback for a couple of
for most of the last handful of years since he's
moved on from Washington to Minnesota. He is a very
talented quarterback, and guess what, he's surrounded by tons of

(10:51):
talent in Atlanta. So look out, the dirty birds are
real again.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Charlie Jones catches right at the goal line and runs
it out farside.

Speaker 7 (11:47):
Neumos twenty twenty five Tony only the kicker can tack on.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
He failed to do it. Charlie Jones down the.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
Sideline twenty ten, come time from the path on touchdown.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
That's seven hundred WLW Bengals Radio Network. And the Bengals
on that opening kickoff for a touchdown lead the Browns
fighting score of seven or nothing. This is Red Zone Radio.
Steve Harbin, rich Ornberger with you. We are live from
the tai iraq dot com studios. While we were gone
for a few minutes, the Texans did get a field

(12:21):
goal on that opening drive.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Three nothing on the road against.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
The Packers, and the Seahawks got a field goal as well,
three nothing lead on the road against the Falcons. Games
with no score right now, Titans and the Bills, Eagles
at the Giants, and the Dolphins at the Colts. And
you know, you get to this point of the season,
Rich and now you're started trying to evaluate whether or

(12:46):
not certain teams can he keep their hopes alive. We
talked about the Cincinnati Bengals city at two and four.
You know, that opening loss at home to the Patriots
looks worse with each passing week, and you're just one,
is there enough time for them to get back to
where they are. But then I look at the current
AFC standings right now, two of the wildcard teams are

(13:10):
the Chargers at three and two and the Broncos at
four and three. So there's plenty of time for some
of the I would even dare say there's time for
Jacksonville with their win today to get back on the mix.
They got a rat off some wins, but that team
should be playing better than their record indicates.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
So the NFL is still the most brilliant sports league
in terms of the way they set up their regular season.
The urgency is still at a fever pitch. All these
games still matter. However, when you have situations like you
just described where they're now fourteen teams eligible to make
the playoffs every year, you have your number one seed

(13:52):
who gets to buy, then six teams are going to
make it in he's either have divisional winners or wildcards.
You've got a lot more parody in this league than
ever before, and it's showcasing itself here in the early
portion of this season. You have teams who are fighting
for their lives. Right now it's Week seven. It's I mean,
it's fantastic. They're also still alive exactly. And that's my point.

(14:16):
Nobody's out of the mix none. So you're going to
see certain teams who have one win or two wins
right now be very much in the playoff picture come
January when we're discussing this all over again or throughout
the NFL season, because nobody's out of it yet except
for maybe the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
How about this, and the Browns might be there as well.
Brown think about this. The Browns had a third and
five at the Cincinnati thirty two yard line go ahead,
and they ran Nick Chubb off guard for a one
yard loss. They are, I mean fire, no trust in

(14:55):
your quarterback to make a place.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
There's a video going around on Twitter right now of
Deshaun It's introduction in Cleveland, and it is just a
rain of booze, just a booze?

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Is he coming out? Did Hopkins just miss the fields?
Just miss the field goal?

Speaker 4 (15:07):
It's a calamity of errors in in this game is
being played in Cleveland right Yeah, because Deshaun was booed
by the home crowd. Wow, so it's a seven to
nothing ballgame. They just missed the Hopkins field goal, and yeah,
they are pointing the guns in the air and firing
all their bullets and waving the white flag. They I mean, there,
you cannot early in a game on a third and

(15:29):
five just say, you know what, we better do what's
safe and kick a fifty plus yard field goal just
in case Deshaun Watson throws a pick.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
The Dolphins another team trying to stay alive. Two and
three on the season. Obviously, it has been a challenge
without two at quarterback. They have a third and goal
right now on the Indianapolis ten yard line. Colts, welcome
back or do they their quarterback this week?

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Back Anthony Richardson, And here's how he's done so far
for four passing.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
To start the game. All right, well, so little for
four passing.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I mean, Joe Flacco is one of the top ten
passer rating leaders in the NFL. You went back to
Anthony Richardson and he starts.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
The game zero for four.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Yeah, listen, he's got one of the most elite quarterbacks
in the league just standing there on the sideline overlooking
every pass he throws. So you would be nervous too. Now, look,
here's the truth. Anthony Richardson's a talented guy. They wouldn't
have drafted him if he wasn't. But here's the problem.
He hasn't been durable enough to get much experience. So

(16:36):
when he hits the field, of course he's gonna look rusty.
He's basically a rookie. He's barely played football at this
league level. You think about his trajectory as it stands
second year versus CJ. Stroud, for example, CJ. Stroud, He's
already been through an entire season. He's played with injured
skill position players, in injured offensive lineman, he's played in

(16:57):
the postseason. Like he's got this wealth of knowledge of
experiences that he has underwent through. Now a season plus
of football at the NFL level, Anthony Richardson still is
trying to figure out where the bathrooms are in the
facility because this guy has barely been around. Well.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
The knock on him coming out was can he throw
the ball accurately enough to become a full fledged NFL quarterback.
If you can't throw the ball straight, if you can't
hit or mark, you cannot be effective quarterback in this league.
By the way, Miami did score Tyler Huntley touchdown pass
to Jonah Smith, so seven to nothing, Dolphins early lead

(17:33):
in the first quarter on the road against the Indianapolis Colts.
By the way, road teams have been having a pretty
good success this year. Have you noticed this, mister Gambler,
mister bet on every NFL game, if you notice a trend,
especially with road favorites this year.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
So, I don't know the reason why, and it's very
difficult to quantify, especially early in the season this is happening.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
But what I will.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Say is teams who are favored coming into somebody else's
house on the road, especially during prime time, and those
are specifically the spots where you're seeing it. It seems
like the teams who they're facing, Like a good example
is the Cowboys recently getting thrashed by the Detroit Lions.
It feels like, just per the luck of the schedule,

(18:24):
we've had a lot of teams where they're in complete
disarray having to face really good teams coming into their house. Oh,
we have another big play in this Cincinnati Bengals Cleveland
Brown's game, and it looks like since he just got
a huge game, but a flag on the play.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Yeah, the Bengals are eating almost looks like a very
dispirited Cleveland Brown's team. So that was Jase Brown who
had a big run, but it was called back for
a hold as Cleveland's trying to hold this thing together.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
But it has been a trend.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Usually when you see a home doll in the NFL,
it's a pretty good play, you know, home dog. I
know that it's been traditional, Like on primetime games, especially
Monday Night Football. You want money in the bank, bet
on home dogs on Monday Night Football. They seem to
not only cover, they seem to win outright. But right now,

(19:18):
oh by the way, Vikings just added a field goal,
so they are off and running with a ten nothing
lead over the Detroit Lions. Sam Darnold a perfect for
four to twenty one yards. But this really the story here,
Aaron Jones with that thirty four yard touchdown run earlier
in the game and the Lions, you know, you coming

(19:38):
off that huge win against Dallas. Yeah, and you can
make the argument, even with the injury to Aiden Hutchinson
and all the you know problems they're having with keeping
guys healthy on that defensive front, that top to bottom,
this is as good a roster as there is in
the NFL. You've got this great win. Now, you've got
the big showdown in your own division on the road

(19:59):
against the Viking, and now you find yourself in an
early ten nothing hole.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Well, so again, this is going back to what you
were asking about earlier.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Some things are lucky.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
Right, You know, I really do blame a lot of
the home favorites winning on the or so excuse me,
a lot of the home dogs losing, especially in primetime,
on just the circumstance of the home teams that are hosting.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
For perfect example, the Saints.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
You know, Denver Broncos almost has no reason to be
favored against anybody on the road on Thursday night football,
But Sean Payton coming back bo Nicks did just enough.
That defense was sweltering against the New Orleans Saints all
night long on Thursday night football. That was barely a
football game. And I just think it's a luck of
the draw sometimes. Now, what you just pointed out, when

(20:44):
you have an emotional win, I'm telling you, if you
are a sports better pay attention to the ethos of
these teams, not just the rosters, not just how the
quarterback's playing, not just how the defense look.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Pay attention to the emotional ROLA coaster of the season.
So if you have a team like the Detroit Lions,
who you know, they wanted that win bad and they
paid for it because Aiden Hutchinson goes down with the
season ending injury, and that's an emotional loss too. Watch
the next week what happens, because there's always a cliff
that you fall off of. It's really hard to get

(21:18):
yourself up and going for the next game after you
slay a dragon like the Lions did on the road
in Dallas. And right now they trail ten nothing to
Minnesota in Minnesota with five thirty four left in the
first quarter.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Pressure on the Eagles to deliver on Bow's birthday today,
it looks like a pitcher's duel.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Defense is a dominating no score between the Eagles and
the Giants. All right, let's find out what is trending
right now. And here she is the immensely.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
Popular and hiszzle, she's hiszle and she's got the sizzle.
And I have a full belly once again, and it's
all thanks to Manci below.

Speaker 8 (21:56):
My pleasure unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
By the way, by bus Burrito, I have I have
you don't miss I have had many a meal with
rich over the years, so we're doing the opening segment
right because he's already started on the first burrito and
I'm talking that's what I'm about to toss him. He's like,
oh man, man, I gotta put down the burrito. He
was looking to be like, no, keep talking.

Speaker 8 (22:18):
Didn't you see what's happening?

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Literally, I know the vibe right, No, no, no, no, no,
I'm not ready to talk right now.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
Literally like this, I'm.

Speaker 9 (22:24):
Like, it's like, what do you think about this?

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (22:29):
I know?

Speaker 4 (22:30):
As soon as he said my name, I'm like, I
know that means I have to talk. I almost pointed
to about to do a Rich impression like.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
What He's like?

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Why? He goes, He looks at me.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
You know me, I'm I'm eating right here, you guys,
plenty of time to talk.

Speaker 8 (22:45):
I'm definitely on Rich's side here.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
What are we going to do in a couple of
weeks when Taco Bell eliminates breakfast?

Speaker 8 (22:51):
Are they really doing that?

Speaker 5 (22:52):
They starting, Yeah, Chris can't get breakfast at Taco Bell anymore?

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Why then then then we have to be it riot.
We take our displeasure to the streets.

Speaker 9 (23:03):
We do we do are are There's just certain locations.

Speaker 6 (23:10):
I mean franchises be franchises, but I've seen plenty of
reports that a lot of them are just continuing breakfast here.
Here's Here's kind of the problem is Taco Bell has
a lot of hours where they're closed in breakfast hour,
more in breakfast morning hours.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
For those of you who.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
Don't know where we are geographically, the corner of Ventura
and so Pulvida, it is a hotspot for picketing and
petitioning things. I mean, world conflicts can go over Galleria
and set this up.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
You get enough people, you hand out signs, they won't
even know what they're picketing for, and then soon they'll
turn them around and be like, are you serious? This
is for a Taco Bell's breakfast We're look yes. Is
the cause we can all get behind.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
It is also a perpetual construction site.

Speaker 9 (23:51):
To where we are is there's a lot going The
point is there's a lot going on here all the time.
There's not a lot going on with the Titans and
the Bills, though they're still scoreless with five minutes left
in the first quarter. If you're wondering how Josh Allen
is doing for the sake of my fantasy.

Speaker 8 (24:07):
One of four for five yards.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Okay, well that's better than Andy Richardson zero. Yeah, I
don't know. I don't know if it is. I know
it is, but it's not, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 9 (24:16):
Seahawks are up on the Falcons three zero late in
the first quarter. The Bengals really started things off, wasting
no time.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
They had an immediate one.

Speaker 9 (24:24):
Hundred yard kick return for a touchdown, and so they
are beating the brown seven zero late in the first
Texans are up on the Packers by a field goal
three zero late in the first as well, Tyler Huntley
with a touchdown pass to John hus Smith, and the
Dolphins are beating the Colt seven zero three minutes.

Speaker 8 (24:39):
To go in the first quarter.

Speaker 9 (24:40):
The Vikings are the ones on the scoreboard against the
Lions here ten zero, five minutes to go in the
first the Eagles and the Giants, they are still scoreless
with about five minutes to go. Apparently a lot of
booze here. Also for Saquon Barkley returning to you know,
New York.

Speaker 8 (24:58):
There's a story are miriov Is I don't know if
I'm saying his year and mirov yes, he's.

Speaker 9 (25:04):
He has a tweet that says that Barkley told Fox
that he saw his jersey being burned on his way
into the stadium this morning. So that's not going to
make this a revenge game.

Speaker 8 (25:17):
Then, I don't know what does.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
He's running angry every time he gets the football. He's
trying to make some blue jerseys pay.

Speaker 8 (25:23):
He really is.

Speaker 9 (25:24):
And last year, guys, it's actually the WNBA finals game.

Speaker 8 (25:27):
This is it between the Links and the Liberty.

Speaker 9 (25:29):
Eight eastern, but also at eight eastern game six of
the NLCS between the Dodgers and the Mets.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Let's go. Yeah, that's another big game.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
By the way, the burning of the Saquon Barkley jersey,
would that be the equivalent of a let's say, someone
that's not a rich Armburger fan burning his empty taco bell? Rappers? Yeah, well,
you know, burning the rappers outside of the streets.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
Right now, I will set a blaze a couple of
breakfast Britle rappers if they don't get this sorted out quick.
And we stand on business. Yes, we're up on game
at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
The Titans have made a field goal to take the
early three to nothing lead on the road against the
Buffalo Bills. This is Red Zone Radio Steve Harbin and
Rich Ornberger with you another loaded NFL Sunday. By the way,
the other day we had the Broncos on the road
against the Saints, the Broncos, who are not great. Look,
I made a bold prediction about the Broncos before the season.

(26:25):
I'm smiling out because it's looking good in the moment.
I'm not confident it's going to stay that way. But
how about the New Orleans Saints. Two weeks in, they
literally are the talk.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Of the NFL.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
They are putting up points like we never seen before,
and everyone was just going nuts. Five straight losses. How
long does Dennis Allen last.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
I'm pretty shocked that we got to Sunday with him
still in charge. It was not only was it an
embarrassing loss, and I understand the Saints basically were starting
their second stringers because they had everybody hurt. Derek Carr,
namely Spencer Rattler starting for him, but there were many
others And look, sometimes this season shifts into an unforeseen direction.

(27:11):
You lose a couple of close games, then you experience
a couple of injuries, but you gotta find a way.
And when Sean Payton returns back to New Orleans and
he gets that obscenely lopside of victory on primetime, and
you call that bizarre time out. You remember Thursday Night Football,
right before the half, he calls the time out, looks confused,

(27:32):
Spencer Rattler look confused, and then the ensuing play is
just a kneel down. It's just a bad look. It
looks like things are spiraling for the New Orleans Saints.
So I am a little shocked. Now again, it doesn't
give me any happiness. It's unfortunately part of the game
to see coaches get fired, but it is shocking when
a coach hangs in there longer than you expect. And

(27:54):
I'm curious why, because maybe it's because because of the start,
Maybe those two games that they won in such heroic
matter is still fueling the interest in keeping him around.
Maybe they think at some point they can get back
to that offensive explosion and that's what's keeping him afloat
right now.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Dennis Allen is a defensive coach. He gave up thirty
three points at home to Denver. Three points they get him,
and that's a struggling Denver Broncos. That is not any
juggernaut offense by any stretch of the imagination. All right,
we're going to turn to Chris, our resident Lions expert.
Fourth and inches right now? What are the Lions going
to do here?

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Well, we're first going to figure out if David Montgomery
is hurt. Oh boy, that is not. That is currently
what's going on right now.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
All right, So right now, the Lions have a fourth
and inches from their own thirty nine yard line, and Montgomery,
who carried on that last play, they're checking him out
right now. So Vikings in control, leading this game by
a score of ten to nothing. Meanwhile, the Colts they
have a second a goal on the Miami eight yard line,

(29:00):
trailing the Dolphins seven to nothing. So right now, as
far as Anthony Richardson is concern, he's one for seven passing,
but he's got thirty yards rushing, Yeah, no question about it.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
So he's doing it with his legs right now.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
He had a twenty one yard run on this drive,
so one for seven passing, but he has thirty yards
on the ground.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Back to Detroit for just a second here, you mentioned
David Montgomery, Chris and his injury will see what we
can find out and update everybody here.

Speaker 6 (29:28):
Shortly seeing it a little bit on social media from
some of my Lions beat writer friends. He can barely walk,
barely putting any weight on the left leg as he's
being helped.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Out a knee. Is it an ankle? What do we
look at?

Speaker 4 (29:40):
That's all I've got lower bodies so far is all
we have. But here's the deal with David Montgomery. I
know they drafted Jamior Gibbs and there's excitement for him,
but there may be no other player who's been added
to a roster in recent memory, outside of maybe the
Derek Henry signing to the Baltimore Ravens that has made
more sense. David Montgomery matches the vibe in Detroit and

(30:03):
the Dan Campbell's system and that hard nose. We're gonna
grind you down, We're gonna bully you, We're gonna try
to dominate on the ground, and then we'll sprinkle in
the passing game. More than more than a David Montgomery,
he's really been special and so that would be an
enormous blow if you lose him for a portion of
this season with an injury. And we'll see if Gibbs

(30:24):
is ready to be the bell cow back out of
that backfield because it is a little bit of a
split shift right now, the average about the same amount
of rushing yards per game. It's gonna be a load
though for Jamiir Gibbs to handle on his own.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
All right, Packers trailing the Texans three to nothing at
home start of the second quarter. Right now, the Packers
have a second to nine on the Texans nineteen yard line.
Jordan Love did throw an interception early in this game,
but he's right now eight to ten for seventy three yards.
And you know, a big acquisition obviously for Green Bay
has been Jacobs. You know, you know, you got a

(30:57):
new life for him. Remember he led the NFL rushing
just a couple of years ago with the Raiders, and
he's been a big addition. Again for any quarterback, I
don't care who the quarterback is. When you have an
effective running game, it just makes a world of difference.
Is you just have more options with your offense, play action.
I mean, there's just so many different things you can
do when you do have a running game. And Jacobs

(31:20):
has been a huge addition for Green Bay.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Yeah, Josh Jacobs said, there's no question who's the bell
coal in green Bay. Nobody's even close to getting the
amount of carriers or the amount of yards on the
ground as Josh Jacob's in that Green Bay offense.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
And how about Matt Lafleur.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
Now I understand running backs they're a little bit more
plug and play, but quarterbacks aren't. And the green Bay
Packers have made a great leap going from Aaron Rodgers
to love and having it look really consistent. And then
you think about Aaron Jones. He had been around for
a long time in Green Bay and all of a
sudden he moves along. You bring in Josh Jacobs, workreckers.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
Who got that one? Is it?

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Did they throw it to the tight end? We'll see
in a second, And I'm not sure if who's holding
the football.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
That is there is a great great pass again, play
action yep, sets it up, yep, yep.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
And that's the Josh Jacobs effect, that's the David Montgomery effect,
that's the Derek Henry effect. When you have a back
in the backfield who has everybody nervous, you can make
throws over the middle of the field, especially in the
low red zone.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
And that was a beautiful catch. Yeah for a touchdown
on the year for Craft.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
So the Packers now with the extra point, are taking
a seven to three lead against the Texans. You know
we've been talking about this NFC North Wow, Bears obviously
have a week off this week. There are one of
the two teams to have a bye Can you imagine
the Cowboys by a week? Can we get a little
detour what we got to talk about this right now? Well,

(32:50):
you have a few minutes here. What do you think
is going on during this bye week? You know, Jerry
Jones not only right after the game, made it Adam
and he's not going to fire Mike McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
Then he goes on his.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Own radio show and threatens the host of the show
that they can be replaced when they are only doing
their job, obviously asking the questions that need to be
asked with a Cowboys team that remember, going into last
year's playoff game hosting the Packers, they'd won sixteen straight
home games, including that Packers game. Now they've lost four
straight home games and Jerry Jones seems to be unraveling

(33:25):
quickly right now.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
But what do you think the conversation is going on
right now?

Speaker 4 (33:30):
During this bye week in Dallas. Well, I think Jerry
Jones was projecting. I think the reason why he publicly
threatened a couple of radio hosts with their jobs is
because behind the scenes he's doing the same thing to
Mike McCarthy. I think that's the truth. I don't think
anything is happy in Big d right now. And I
think he's letting McCarthy know about it, and he's saying, now,

(33:51):
listen publicly, I'm gonna defend you, but you better make
me right. You better make me right, Mike, because I
brought you in here and you tell me he watched
all the film on the Dallas Cowboys, and then it
comes out later you didn't watch a stitch of our games,
and you lied to me. And then you come in
here and you win all these games in the regular season,
and that's great, Mike, but guess what we can't win

(34:12):
for squad in the postseason. I just paid your top receiver.
You're an offensive play caller. I just paid your quarterback.
You're an offensive play caller. You better get this right.
And so I bet he was furious after speaking to him,
and then we had to answer a couple of questions
later on in the week he took it out on
those radio show hosts. I promise you, Jerry Jones always
tries to play it cool under the collar. He always

(34:34):
tries to look like, you know, the affable kind of
goofy grandpa, you know, the oil taccoon who struck it
rich and bought that.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
No, no, no, no. He is a ruthless business man.
He wants to win.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
He wants to see a Super Bowl before they put
him in the ground. And right now he's panicking, I
promise you, and he needs Mike McCarthy to pull this through.
Now he's not helping him at all because he's a
lame duck. All of those players in the locker know
that the guy they're listening to at the head of
the class has an expiring contract.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
So if your owner.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
Doesn't have faith in your head coach, what are the
players supposed to feel about him?

Speaker 3 (35:12):
There are thirty two teams in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Dak Prescott, the highest paid quarterback in the history of
the game, twenty fifth in the league in passer rating,
right behind Gardner Minshew. Okay, okay, by the way, he's
one step ahead of Aaron Rodgers, who's twenty.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Sixth im passer ratings.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
All right, We're going to continue on as we cover
all these games seven games around the NFL for the
latest score, stats.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
And everything you need to keep it here. This is
Red Zone Radio. Plenty of time of the play clock.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
They did not huddle three receivers white and one in
the last snip to Jordan Love rush On.

Speaker 10 (35:45):
He fires zone touch down traiser from short and Love.

Speaker 11 (35:53):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
That's ninety seven to three of the game. WR and
W Packers Radio Network And just like that, the Green
Bay Packers have a seven to three lead at home
against the Houston Texas. Steve Hartman and Rich Ornberger here
Red Zone Radio. We're live from the tiraq dot com studios.
Update on the other six games going on right now.
Seahawks early ten nothing lead on the road against the Falcons.

(36:20):
Kenneth Walker with a touchdown run in that game. Titans
have a field goal on the board, leading the Bills
three to nothing, and they have a first and goal
on the Buffalo ten yard line. How about that for
an upset hot times on the road against the Bills.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Browns have the ball right now trailing the Bengals seven nothing.
These are all second quarter scores by the way. Dolphins
lead the Colt seven to nothing on the road, Vikings
over the Lions ten to nothing, and no score still
between the Eagles and Giant. But Sakwon Barkley just got
it in the end zone and the Eagles I've taken
a six nothing lead against the g Men.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Yeah, just as you were speaking, Saquon bar Arkley from
a shotgun pistol formation where he was right behind Hurts.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
I mean, he did a lot of this work himself.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
Leg drive, ran it right into the back of his center,
and he just kept the feet chugging until he broke
the plane.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Is the best in the league.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
There's no doubt, even without Jason Kelsey. Did we get
an update Chris on the David Montgomery situation.

Speaker 6 (37:24):
Questionable with the knee to return. I think I've seen
someone say he's on a bike right now working it out.
But he did go into the medical tent.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
Every once in a while you could get like a
pretty significant ballou speaking of significant.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Here, Oh wow, did Sammy Darnold just throw a pick?

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Oh no, that's the ball there it is. Jamir Gibbs
gets in the end zone. So with Montgomery out, Gibbs
is in touchdown. Lions as they get on the board
now trailing the Vikings way down the extra point ten
to six. Meanwhile, the Texans have retaken the lead on
a Joe Mixon run and the extra point is good.

(38:01):
So the Texans now have a ten to seven lead
on the road against Green Bay and Jamia Gibbs looking
good on that run.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
Yeah, no kidding.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
The reason why I thought it was a defensive touchdown
is because nobody was near him.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
That was so well blocked by the Detroit Lions, the
back half of the Vikings defense.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
I mean, so kind of with the line, yeah, kind
of similar with what we saw on the Aaron Jones
rushing touchdown earlier in this same game. They just didn't
contain Gibbs and so once he got to the alley
between the numbers and the sideline, he had to make
one man miss and it was a walk into the
end zone. That was a beautiful job, especially with Montgomery

(38:40):
on the sideline, to really tell the Vikings like, hey, listen,
we're not going to abandon the run game, and you
better be ready for a physical football game because that's
the way Detroit plays. And they can still play that
way with Gibbs.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
The Bills are down ten to nothing to the Titans
at home.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Mason Rudolph is at quarterback for Tennessee in this game.
Uh huh fifteen for one hundred yards and a touchdown
pass to Nick Westbrook.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
A Keeny, do you know how to? I kind?

Speaker 4 (39:09):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Nick Westbrook?

Speaker 9 (39:11):
K h I n e.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Keennye? Anyway? I just I don't know, but you know what, honestly,
it's adorable. What do you say, Kenny?

Speaker 5 (39:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Meanwhile, Josh Allen steadied with his one for five five yards.
Remember two weeks ago, Josh Allen was nine for thirty passing.
Does that even seem possible in the NFL? I'm in
this day and age for a premier quarterback to go
nine for thirty.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
The Titans passing game has gotten off to such a
terrible start this season. Last week was a ninety five
yard passing performance by Will Levis.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
Well, get him out him, but Rudolph in and look
at the difference total yards in this game. Tennessee has
one hundred and forty nine, Buffalo is eighteen.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
Tennessee's offense is averaging one thirty five passing, so they're
off to a really really good start against the Watch
last week.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Saw Mason Rudolph on the sideline, like, what are you
waiting for? Put him in there?

Speaker 2 (40:05):
All right, We're approaching halftime around the NFL. Keep it
right here for the latest. This is Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Hurtz gives it to Barkley. He pushes, he shoves, he
is into the end zone. Touchdown. It's fifth rushing touchdown
of the season.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
That's ninety four WIP Eagles Radio Network and the Eagles
with the early seven to ahing lead.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
M I say early.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
We're halfway through the second quarter on the road against
the g Men. By the way, this is Red Zone
Radio and we are broadcasting live from the tire rack
dot Com studios.

Speaker 3 (40:40):
Tire rack dot Com.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
We're gonna get you there, and I'm Matt's selection fast
reshipping free road as a protection over ten thousand recommended installers,
tire rack dot Com the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
We got a lot of scoring going on right now.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
We have a touchdown pass for the Green Bay Packers,
Jordan Love's second TD the game, this one to Wix
to retake the lead against the Texans fourteen to ten. Also,
the Falcons Rich, get on the board. B Jeon Robinson
with a touchdown run for Atlanta. By the way, he's
got ten carries for seventy three yards already in this game.

(41:17):
Falcons still a trail in the Seahawks by a score
of ten to seven. Chris, you got an update.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
Yeah, David Montgomery is back in the game for the
Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Well after that Jamier Gibbs run, I mean he probably said, yeah,
I'm not I'm feeling good.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Put me back in. But get me looked awfully good
on that one.

Speaker 5 (41:34):
Before we get crazy here again, I have something I
wanted to throw at you guys, pretending to Rich's protest
of taco bell. Yes, okay, Iberg Rich, would you be
interested in moving to Las Vegas?

Speaker 3 (41:45):
Okay? So as I think I understand the correlation, there
may be.

Speaker 5 (41:49):
A house available in the Las Vegas market that has
a Taco Bell installed. Would they still be able to
stock breckt and you could just force them to make
you breakfast?

Speaker 7 (41:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (41:57):
I mean, if they're in my own dumb missile DeVante
Adams just recently accepted a job in New York por
trade with the Vegas Raiders and the New York jets.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
So if I do move to Vegas, I'm gonna be
doing this.

Speaker 4 (42:09):
Show remote and eating Taco Bell breakfast whenever I want,
because under protests, those those kitchen staff in the Taco
Bell house, they will make my breakfast interesting.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
Now, if you did have to, if you did have
the Taco Bell in your house, as DeVante Adams hid
in Vegas, Yeah, what would be the most frequent item.

Speaker 3 (42:30):
That you would order?

Speaker 4 (42:31):
Okay, So I'm a big fan of the cheesy gordita crunch.
Not sure if you guys are aware of it, but
it is the perfect sandwich. If we want to call
a taco or a mixture of a taco and a
soft taco a sandwich, we can, I guess if if you're.

Speaker 3 (42:48):
I mean.

Speaker 4 (42:50):
The cheese, Yeah, you're talking about the double layered, cheesy,
crunched taco.

Speaker 6 (42:54):
I was gonna say it is two tacos smushed together. So, yeah,
you do have a sandwich going there.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
Yeah, it does feel like a sandwich.

Speaker 4 (42:59):
At sandwich, it's like a grilled cheese Mexican style, stuffed
with all the things that you hope a grilled cheese
sandwich would be stuffed.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Let me ask you, this is a hot dog a sandwich.
Why are you doing this? We did this like ten
years ago.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
I'm just asking. I just thought about it again. It's
meat in a bun, right, meat and bread.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
That is I mean it kind of. It feels more
like a taco than a sandwich to an open sandwich,
is what it is. Very good, all right.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
We've actually had a little bit of scoring today, which
is pretty entertaining. Now, one game that slowed down tremendously
is this Bengals Browns game. We had the opening kickoff
for a touchdown for the Bengals and that has been
the only score of the game. Deshaun Watson's numbers are good,
twelve or fourteen for eighty six yards, no touchdowns and
no picks.

Speaker 3 (43:45):
Meanwhile, Joe Burrow not as good.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
He is six of eleven for sixty two yards. Again
no touchdown, nose picks. And for both of these teams
right now, they are struggling with their ground game.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
The Browns have ten.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
Yards rushing and if you just go with the running
backs for the Bengals, they have nine yards rushing.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
Well.

Speaker 4 (44:07):
So here's the problem with the Cleveland Browns, and this
is this is destined to happen at different points this season.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day. So
Deshaun Watson will look like Deshaun Watson of old, or
will look like a competent quarterback a couple of times
this season. Maybe maybe it'll get closer to a handful

(44:28):
at the end of seventeen games. But I think it
would be a mistake to put any faith that this
Browns team is going to be better served having him
a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Jalen Hurst a J Brown forty one yard touchdown bow
the birthday boy.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
Your Eagles are looking good today.

Speaker 5 (44:47):
Yeah. I just got a twelve pack of mountain dew
from Ryan Berschinger, so I missed that entirely.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
But it's okay, going to fatten bow ups. Yeah, everybody
give me sweets today.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
There's a closed box of bake goods.

Speaker 4 (44:59):
I take donuts, okay, very good. Yeah, you don't have
to share those again. It's it's it's a cake box
with donuts, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
It's it's a full blown.

Speaker 4 (45:09):
Cake box, a cube of donuts donuts, which is I mean,
all donut boxes should be cubes, if you ask me,
because it looks like the perfect containment device.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Look the point is, like I said, he doesn't have
to share those. It's his birthday. He could do what
he wants to. There are other donuts in there by
the way, Oh, Mike, did you see them? I did not.
Oh yeah, there's a maple one for you. Looks like
I have a field trip at the next show. Break.

Speaker 4 (45:32):
Look, the point is, guys, the Cleveland Browns. As Manzie
shoves the last of a brito, I'll tell you right
now this show if it doesn't make you hungry with
the amount of food talk by the end of the game.

Speaker 3 (45:45):
But yeah, I haven't even mentioned the poke I made
when I came in here. Really unbelievable. You brought in
raw fish to a radio studio, are you? I mean,
he is a psychopath. We know that, right. We're working
with an actual seal. It was sealed. It's not like
you're gonna I'm not putting it in the microwave. Jeez.
I mean, it's just you know what, next thing, you know,
he's going to bring mister Mintons his cat to work.
I have never shared more.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
I have never shared more refrigerator stories with any human
than Chris.

Speaker 3 (46:11):
We've had many, many conversations, by.

Speaker 6 (46:13):
The way, speaking of that, the FSR fridge now has
a mandated Friday cleanout in shallah.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
Incredible because the smells were getting really bad. H credible.
The Colts are challenged right now.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
Anthony Richardson back in at quarterback this week, three of
ten for twenty eight yards. They have no points against
this Miami Dolphins team, who obviously has also been offensively
challenged ever since two left. I mean, think about this.
We've got five minutes to go in the first half.
Miami is thirty seven net yards passing thirty This is

(46:49):
this last couple of years been one of the most
high powered passing attacks in the NFL, and that's what
they've got. Thirty seven net yards passing touchdown.

Speaker 4 (46:59):
The Lions Aman Ross Saint Brown scampers in for a score.
So all of a sudden, it is thirteen to ten
in Minnesota Detroit over the Vikings. Yes, so we have
a fly sweep motion cross formation and it looks like
they were playing a zone against it and got all confused.

(47:20):
The safeties allowed Saint Brown to just get to avoid
on a seam route.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
Hey, how does this happen?

Speaker 2 (47:26):
I mean, we're talking about a Pro Bowl wide receiver
and you lose sight of them and brought everyone on
that play too.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
They were trying to press up the middle very hard. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
Well, just like that, that early ten to nothing lead
has completely evaporated. Lions now lead the Vikings in Minnesota
fourteen to ten. What your gut feeling here, Rich, By
week's end, well, the two undefeated teams survive, that would
be the Vikings at home against the Lions, and of
course later on this afternoon Chiefs on the road against

(47:58):
the forty nine ers.

Speaker 4 (47:59):
It feels like if there was gonna be a team
that would get there first out, it would be the
Minnesota Vikings. And I'm not saying that because Detroit just scored.
I would have said that even if the score was
still ten to nothing. And the reason why is because
when you look at the matchup, it feels like Detroit
is the harder matchup for the Vikings versus the Kansas
City chief San Francisco forty nine ers. I mean we've

(48:21):
seen this multiple times. The Chiefs, They've got the Niners number.
I don't know what it is, but Spagnulo, that defensive coordinator,
he knows how to rattle brock Perty. He does not
look good when he faces the Kansas City Chiefs. That's
a big reason why they lost that last Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
Did I read about tirack dot com at the top
of the hour here I lose sight of the fact
I'm gonna give him an extra Yeah, you get so
caught up in the game, you know, when you're talking
about the scores and everything else. Red Zone Radio broadcasting
live from the tier rack dot com studios.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
Tire rack dot Com.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
We're gonna have get to there and on Matt' selection
fast ree Shipping Frey Road has a protection over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com the way tire
by and should be tyrereck dot Com earned an extra
mention there, that's all.

Speaker 3 (49:04):
I love that, love that a lot. Yeah, I've been
doing that a lot over the years. All Right.

Speaker 2 (49:09):
So Titans now have the ball back, trailing the Bills
by a score of ten to seven. And it has
been a completely different Tennessee offense today with Mason Rudolph.
I mean, he has been efficient, he's been productive, and
Tony Pollard has forty nine yards in the ground in
the first half. They completely outplayed Buffalo. You will look

(49:29):
at this Jets team and we're going to get into
that game a little bit later on. But the Bills
are sitting at four and two and they don't look
quite right. Oh, I don't trust him. I was talking
about this this week. I don't trust the Bills. I
realize there's a couple of teams that have big time
records that they make it hard to trust them. Like

(49:51):
you look at the Chiefs, the way the Chiefs have
gone undefeated, there are some real blemishes on the Chiefs
and it feels like those chickens will come home to roost.
But the Buffalo Bills, in similar fashion, they've kind of
survived their schedule instead of really prospered this season. And
it's a little bit of a head scratcher.

Speaker 4 (50:11):
Josh Allen had such an upward trajectory while Brian Dable
was his offensive coordinator, and then he moves on to
take the coaching job in New York, and it's Ken Dorsey,
and then it's Joe Brady after that, and neither of
the two of them have really been able to get
Alan playing as consistent football as he was with Dable.
The Bill storyline to watch today is to see how

(50:34):
they incorporate Amari Cooper after trade and maybe a little
too much time was paid attention to trying to get
this new toy in the toy chest to activate it
and get him some touches and get him caught up
to speed. And so maybe that'll slow down the offense
a little bit to make sure that Amari could have
an impact. And when you do things like that, it

(50:54):
can really slow down the rest of the class. And
maybe that's exactly what happened.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
I just get this sense if you take it look
at the playoffs standings going into week seven, and you
look at the standings going into week fourteen, there's.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
Gonna be a lot of teams that are different.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
Yeah, yeah, I just get a sense there have been
a few teams that you know, stumbled out of the gate,
maybe won a few games that they were gifted early
on in the season.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
And it's all gonna even out.

Speaker 2 (51:20):
Can't imagine a season where everybody goes either eight and
nine or nine and eight the whole and everything's a tiebreaker.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
I mean, we could legitimately.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
See you know, it's an extreme, but is it that
far away?

Speaker 3 (51:31):
Again, We're seeing a lot of parody in the NFL
this season.

Speaker 4 (51:34):
I'll give you an example of a team that's the opposite,
a team that's been sluggish out the gates and starting
to come on. You see a fourteen to nothing lead
right now in New York Philadelphia over the Giants. That's
a team that has enough to win.

Speaker 3 (51:45):
We know it.

Speaker 4 (51:45):
Look at their rosters, soup to nuts. They have talent
everywhere you look, defensively and offensively.

Speaker 3 (51:51):
They know how to win.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
We saw this team two years ago in the Super Bowl.
So Philadelphia is the type of team who right now
you look at their record and you say three and
two playing bad football and the majority of the time,
who knows. I mean, that could be one of the
best teams in the NFC before the end of the season.
And that's what makes the NFL so fun these days,
because you really don't know what you have until we
get closer and closer to the December month.

Speaker 2 (52:14):
Well, with the birthday boy Bo Benson back in their side,
all of a sudden, the Eagles are looking good. I
win today on the road against the Giants gets them
to four and two. With the Cowboys suffering right now,
how real are the Commanders?

Speaker 7 (52:27):
G men?

Speaker 3 (52:28):
See you later? All of a sudden, the Eagles are
looking good, all right?

Speaker 2 (52:32):
We continue on here as we roll to first halves
ending in seven games around the NFL.

Speaker 3 (52:39):
This is Red Zone Radio. Goff takes back looking Stephany's right.

Speaker 7 (52:43):
Those wide open downfield by God and so touch.

Speaker 3 (52:47):
Down Detroit Lions. That is terrific protection up front. That
gave Goff time. He found on the ross streaking up
the field.

Speaker 7 (52:55):
He dropped it in the basket, fourteen to the house
and the Lions have got.

Speaker 2 (52:59):
The that's ninety seven won the ticket Lions Radio network.
So after trailing ten nothing early on the road against
the Vikings, Lions with a fourteen to ten lead and
now the Lions threatening again, they have a first and
ten at the Minnesota eleven yard line. This is Red
Zone Radio. Steve Hartman Rich Ornberger with you. We are
live from the tai iraq dot com studios. We have

(53:22):
news out of Cleveland as the Browns right now have
a first and goal at the Bengals one yard line.
Dorian Thompson Robinson dtr out of UCLA in a quarterback guys,
Deshaun Watson went down with an injury.

Speaker 3 (53:39):
What do we know?

Speaker 9 (53:40):
Okay, So it was a non contact injury and it
looked bad. He was carted off very it seemed like
he was in very bad pain. But a non contact injury.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
Are they saying possible? Please? Is what they think possible ities.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
So a non contact injury, which is usually what happened
with an achilles injury where it just snaps, we don't
know that for sure, but obviously he was parted off
the field, so that is not a good sign.

Speaker 3 (54:10):
If I don't know, well, I don't want to say.

Speaker 2 (54:13):
Like I said, By the way, his numbers with the
injury fifteen of seventeen, one hundred and twenty eight yards.
Remember last year he had his best half of the
season in a game that ended his season. But today
he was throwing the ball effectively fifteen to seventeen hundred
and twenty eight yards. But indeed he has been card
off the field.

Speaker 4 (54:32):
I don't think anybody's going to cheer lead for an injury.
But ever, I will say this, Deshaun Watson, it's additioned
by subtraction. He's a terrible quarterback. And I don't feel
bad saying that. It's it's man, it's a doggy dog
world out there on the football field, and he has
been playing awful and I'm sure Browns fans and the
Browns organization, with the amount of money that they have

(54:54):
given to Deshaun Watson, have been insanely disappointed with the
way he played. So I get, I mean, you don't
want nobody was cheerleading for this being the way that
he lost the starting job in Cleveland. But if he
leaves the game, whether he's benched or whether he's injured,
and the backup quarterback is in, it resolves the clamoring

(55:18):
from the fan base that we need a change at quarterback,
and it kind of feels like it it I guess
relieves Kevin Stefanski from pretending that the best thing for
the organization is starting Deshaun Watson. So Dorin Thompson Robinson
goes in his first pass from scrimmage is a pass
interference in the end zone that gets the Browns down

(55:40):
to the goal line. Now they face a second and
goal and I think they got bounced out after an
legal procedure penalty.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
So it's second and goal from where we at now
the two yard line, right, And if you want to
where's Jamis Winston. He got demoted behind DTR. So DTR
is the backup quarterback. Incomplete pass there halftime score. Seattle
on a three game losing streak. Remember Seahawks started at
three to zero. How real are they? They lose three
in a row. But they're on the road against the Falcons,

(56:12):
who came into this game as the number two seed
in the NFC. Seventeen to seven Seahawks Gino Smith fifteen
of nineteen, one hundred and eighty one yards passing already
and a touchdown. So a very good first half for
the Seahawks. There Titans almost at halftimes, still leading the
Bills by a score of ten to seven. We're waiting

(56:32):
on this Browns game against seven nothing Bengals. The only
score of that game the opening kickoff return for a
touchdown by the Bengals. The Texans trailing the Packers fourteen
to thirteen, but they have a first and goal at
the Green Bay four yard line right now and looking
to take the lead a minute sixteen to go in
the first half. They're going to run the ball and

(56:53):
that is a touchdown Texans.

Speaker 1 (56:55):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
The Texans retake the lead right there on that touchdown
run by Joe Mixon, his second touchdown of the game. Wait,
he's got eighty yards rushing already in the first half.
Joe Mixon having a heck of a season for the Texas.

Speaker 4 (57:09):
It's talented running back, there's no question about it, and
there was There was a really good job performed by
the Texans offensive line getting some air in the run game.
And what I mean by that is Joe Mixon had
a full head of steam. As he was passing the
five yard line. He was untouched in the backfield and
near the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 3 (57:28):
Touchdown for the to Lions.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
Excuse me, Rich Jamier Gibbs's in the end zone again.
Jamiir Gibbs. Okay, now knock, but Jamiir Gibbs has been
on fire.

Speaker 6 (57:40):
Just think about how this game started with the Lions,
you know, getting almost pushed off the field, screwing up
a fake punt, and then you know Aaron Jones immediately
off the edge and now it's an eleven point lead.

Speaker 3 (57:53):
Let me give you the numbers here.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
Jamiir Gibbs eight carries, eighty four yards touchdown.

Speaker 4 (57:59):
Cleveland Brown's Nick Chubb spins his way into the end zone.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
So after Deshaun Watson.

Speaker 4 (58:05):
Leaves the field with an apparent lower leg injury, could
be a season ender and Dorian Thompson Robinson comes into
the game. He marches the field with the Browns to
the Cincinnati goal line, and Nick Chubb gets in on
a goal line run off left tackle. So right now
it's seven to six in Cleveland, Browns over, or I
should say Brown's still trailing by one with the ensuing

(58:27):
extra point coming.

Speaker 3 (58:28):
All right, So again the Lions.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
After a ten to nothing lead for the Vikings twenty
one unanswered points. They lead this game by a score
of twenty one to ten. Meanwhile, the Texan's going for
a two point conversion leading the Packers nineteen fourteen, and
there is a pass interference call against the Packers on
that two point conversion. Eagles and Giants, who got thirteen

(58:53):
seconds to go on the half. Eagles lead this one
fourteen to nothing. However, the Giants we have some chance
to score here. They have a third and fourteen right
now at the Eagles twenty yard line. So if they
don't get the first down here, you can count on
the Giants at least getting on the board with a
field goal.

Speaker 3 (59:13):
Oh boy, we've got a lot of action here in
the first half so far, No kidding, no kidding.

Speaker 4 (59:18):
So Nick Chubb after the long wait for Cleveland fans
he had that horrific leg injury last year. He makes
his way back and he gets the first points on
the board for the Cleveland Browns. That was a twelve play,
seventy eight yard drive by the Cleveland Browns to get
in the end zone on the one yard run.

Speaker 2 (59:35):
All right, second attempt on the two point conversion that
gets snuffed out by the Packers. So that means the
Texans lead nineteen to fourteen. We got a little over
a minute ago in the first half there. That game
is in Green Bay halftime. Now Dolphins lead the Colts
ten to three. This figure to be a challenge offensively

(59:55):
for both teams. Tyler Huntley seven eleven eighty seven yards
in a score. Anthony ri Richardson in his return for
a thirteen passing sixty one yards.

Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
Yeah, let's stop off there to talk about this Miami
offense who just announced to a tongue of Iiloa not
only interested in continue his NFL career, he's interested in
continuing this season. He'll be the presumed starter week eight,
he says, that's when he wants to make his comeback,
and don't really call it a comeback, because frankly, we
knew this the whole time. I mean, that was not

(01:00:27):
going to be the Swan song. In my opinion, there
were a lot of people saying, oh, to a shit retire,
Oh you know, he's he's really got to contemplate this.
The fact of the matter is, I know how bad
those concussions look, but to a tongue of Iloa is
a competitor. This guy wants to play football. I didn't
think for a second that it was going to be

(01:00:48):
the last time we saw him. Even though it's pretty graphic.
When this guy's lights goes out and his body locks
up the way it has now three times in short
order in the NFL, it scares the fans, but it
doesn't scare of the player. I've been there myself and
many of the guys I went to war with. When
you get banged up, when you get a head injury

(01:01:09):
or a lower body injury somewhere else, or an upper
body I mean, the first thought is how soon can
I get back out there with my guys. And so Tua,
who's the leader of this team, who just got paid
an awful lot of money by this organization, and you
know is interested in winning a Super Bowl with this organization,
and the window is open if he wants to do it,
because they're pretty spoiled with options offensively. He's got to

(01:01:32):
get back on the field if he wants to make
good on that promise, and so I knew he would.
I hope nobody else is shocked by this and dismayed
by this, because that's what football players do.

Speaker 3 (01:01:42):
They want to play football, and that's what Tua is
gonna do.

Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
Hopefully they protect him better.

Speaker 4 (01:01:46):
Hopefully Tua protects himself better out there on the football
field and doesn't take too many unnecessary risks. But he'll
be back because I'll tell you right now, it is
not working with whatever backs up to it every time
he gets injured.

Speaker 3 (01:01:59):
The backup quarter in Miami have disappointed.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
By the way it seems that half the kickers in
the NFL are former Charger kickers. One of them, Dustin Hopkins,
after missing a field goal earlier, just missed the extra point.

Speaker 11 (01:02:11):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
So Cincinnati leads seven to six in Cleveland, may be
looking for a new kicker, as hopkins two misses is
the reason that Cincinnati is still leading.

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
This game by a score of seven to six.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
All right, let's find out what is trending right now
as Monsi's looking on how are your fantasy teams doing
so far today?

Speaker 8 (01:02:32):
You know, up and down, up and down, which has
been the season. But it's all right.

Speaker 9 (01:02:35):
Earlier today I heard Jeff Schwartz say that he's zero
and six in his fantasy league.

Speaker 8 (01:02:40):
So it made me feel better, you know, because I'm
one and six and.

Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
Most of them that's actually hard to do what you
two are doing. Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 8 (01:02:49):
It's just like it's like the way I lose, and
it's just I can't. I can't, but you know, it's
still fun. It's still fun.

Speaker 9 (01:02:56):
I haven't looked too much at it because I don't
want to know what I'm doing. But welcome back Nick Chubb,
his first game back since you know, that bad knee
injury last year, already with a rushing touchdown for the Browns,
who are losing right now to the Bengals seven to six,
less than a minute to go in this one. Most
of them are at halftime most of these games. There's

(01:03:16):
no further details on Deshaun Watson's.

Speaker 8 (01:03:19):
Injury that we know of, but if you saw the video, yeah,
he was just starting.

Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
To run and his leg did not look good. Yeah,
just one of those.

Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
Unfortunately, I've seen unfortunately enough achilles injuries to know one when.

Speaker 9 (01:03:32):
We see what exactly exactly at halftime it is the
Seahawks on top of the Falcons seventeen to seven. Gino
Smith fifteen of nineteen for one hundred and one hundred
and eighty one yards and one touchdown. It's not just
Bow's birthday, apparently, it's Kenneth Walker's birthday as well.

Speaker 8 (01:03:47):
His thirty twenty fourth birthday. Probably can't be there every birthday.

Speaker 3 (01:03:50):
Happy Birthday.

Speaker 8 (01:03:51):
He had a twenty yard rushing touchdown for Seattle.

Speaker 9 (01:03:54):
At halftime, the Titans are beating the Bills ten to seven.
Mason Rudolph seventeen of twenty two, one hundred thirty yards
and a touchdown. Josh Allen four of eleven for sixty
five yards. That's why I don't want to check my
fantasy right there. The Texans are beating the Packers nineteen fourteen.
They're headed to halftime seven seconds to go on this one.
Jordan Love twelve of seventeen, one hundred and thirty one yards,

(01:04:15):
two touchdowns.

Speaker 8 (01:04:16):
He did have a pick early in the game.

Speaker 9 (01:04:18):
But it has not done too much damage. The Dolphins
up on the Colts at halftime ten to three.

Speaker 8 (01:04:23):
The Lions yes, on top of the Vikings at halftime,
twenty one to ten.

Speaker 9 (01:04:27):
Jared Goff twelve of twelve one hundred and fifty six
yards in a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Wow again again another perfect day. Unbelievable real, it's really unreal.

Speaker 9 (01:04:40):
Sam Darnold nine of twelve, seventy five yards and an
interception on that one, and the Eagles are beating the
Giants in New York at halftime as well, fourteen to three.
Jalen Hurtz eate of ten ninety eight yards in a touchdown.
But Saquon Barkley nine carries seventy five yards and one touchdown.
And in case you didn't here fellas the weirdest holdout
that we have maybe witnessed in the NFL is coming

(01:05:01):
to an end. Jets and Hassan Reddick have agreed to
an adjusted contract.

Speaker 8 (01:05:05):
He is going to report tomorrow.

Speaker 9 (01:05:07):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
See, he will obviously not be ready for the game tonight.

Speaker 9 (01:05:10):
And pitchage, yes, he won't be playing tonight, but he
is reporting tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:05:13):
All right, very very good.

Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
The Jets are a very interesting team, and again we
talked about the Bills. You look at the Dolphins and
then you look obviously at the Patriots at the bottom
of the heap. Can the Jets, even where they're two
and four records, still come away and win the AFC East.
I mean, there's plenty of time left. But here's the
whole point on the Jets. You still got to get

(01:05:36):
protection for your quarterback. You still got to get that
offensive line to open up some running name lanes for
Bresee Hall. Your defense has to play better. Now with
all the hype about the Jets defense, they've been inconsistent
this year. So there's still a lot of things that
have to go right for the Jets. But there's still
plenty of time for them to get it right.

Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
I have a question.

Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
I was watching you watching all the games that we
have here. Yeah, it's been ten years, and I remember this.
It was a stunning day when Rich Ornberger shocked the
world announcing his abrupt retirement.

Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
From the national Football He's been ten years. That's oh no.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
We shut everything down that day at our station.

Speaker 5 (01:06:16):
Yeah, it was so weird.

Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
That so weird. I told you guys not to do that.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
It came away when you watch NFL football, Yeah, ten
years after you played the game, do you feel detached
from the action on the field or do you still
get that sense that I'm sure you have for a
year or two after you're retired, like you're still feeling

(01:06:39):
the game watching the game.

Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Yeah, that never leaves.

Speaker 4 (01:06:44):
You always have a part of you that when you're
watching moments happen, especially when you're cluing in on the
position you play, like the offensive line, you can remember
you can remember what you would do.

Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
In those similar situations.

Speaker 4 (01:06:59):
So it's an inside zone run play, or it's a
stretch play to the outside, or it's a drop back pass,
or it's a short throw, you know, whatever the style
of block you're seeing, like, you know, a guard get
out there on a screen, or a center, you know,
trying to pull around a pile of humanity to lead
a running back in the short alley, whatever it may be.
You'll have these moments where you're just like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah,

(01:07:21):
I you know there's a way to do that that
that guy doesn't hasn't learned yet because he's young, or
you watch a veteran dude, you'd be like, man, nobody
can move that way.

Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
That's incredible or you know so the yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
So to answer your question, yes, there's absolutely moments where
you still get lost in a game the same way
you would get lost in game film, and it's almost
like your brain starts taking a mental rep.

Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
Like how would I do that? And that'll never leave.

Speaker 4 (01:07:47):
However, I do enjoy the longer I get away from
my playing career and the more I get into being
a fan of the game. I do enjoy watching the
game through that lens because it's fun. This was my job,
This was work.

Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
This hurt.

Speaker 4 (01:08:04):
This took a lot of sacrifice in order to have success.
There was a lot of heartache. There was a lot
of family time that had a skip in order to
commit myself one hundred percent to the sport.

Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
And I love the sport.

Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
I would never complain about it, and I was compensated
greatly for my time doing it.

Speaker 3 (01:08:20):
But that there. But it is a job, it is work.
It is something that.

Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
If you don't prepare yourself perfectly for you will get exposed,
especially in a performance based industry like the NFL. So
there was a tremendous amount of stress that I am
very happy to leave behind as I move on to
becoming more of a fan of the game and have
that appreciation of it.

Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
I think the big guys, you've been lined up side
by side all those years and now you're sitting next
to me. All right, So let's talk about this game
tonight between the Jets and Steelers and blink for a second.
Aaron Rodgers versus Russell Wilson. Yeah, Packers, Seahawks playoff games, right.

Speaker 3 (01:09:01):
Two guys in their private at the time.

Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
You could make an argument there was a time when
these were the two most effective quarterbacks in the NFC
because obviously had Brady over in the AFC along with
Peyton Manny back of the day. Where are we right
now with this Aaron Rodgers Russell Wilson showdown in tonight's
game between the Jets and the Steelers.

Speaker 4 (01:09:22):
Well, we're kind of it feels like in a lot
of ways back to the starting line with both of them.
Like when you think about it, Oh, I just saw
the Deshaun Watson into injury.

Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
He's not coming back this season. There's no chance. Oh
and he's crying too.

Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
So is crying when an achilles goes And I don't
want to you know, So trigger warning if you've got
a queasy stomach. Turned down the volume for a second
because I'll describe it. When an achilles goes, what you
see is basically that tendon is under tension always always.
I mean, it's just yanking on your calf. It's yanking

(01:09:59):
on all of the other tenons and bones underneath your heel.
When that, when that tenon goes, you can tell because
it almost looks like a lampshade goes up, or like
a leg. See it in the calf, in the calf,
like you can see the calf jostle violently. When it blows,
it's like blowing out at tires. So Deshaun Watson's season's over.

Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
This is I mean, I mean it's it's a devastating injury.
We've seen it in a lot of sports, obviously NBA.
I was there the night that Kobe snapped his achilles,
which was horrific, and then he went to the free
throw line and made two free throws. Yeah, with a
blown achilles. Yeah, he was did different, different type of guy.
But I mean we had Aaron Rodgers last year, we

(01:10:41):
had Kirk Cousins last year.

Speaker 3 (01:10:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
The good news I guess for Deshaun Watson is those
guys are playing.

Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
Those guys are playing. Now, Look, is his career over?

Speaker 4 (01:10:50):
No, But I can't imagine him being a starting quarterback
when he comes back from this injury because of how
poorly he played prior to the injury.

Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
And I mean, you know, you could blame a lot
of different things.

Speaker 4 (01:11:00):
There was a lot of distractions off the field that
led to a very complicated holdout with the Houston Texans,
which led to a record breaking trade and signing by
the Cleveland Browns, which led to one of the most
bizarre legacies of any starting quarterback in a short time
with the Cleveland Browns because so much expectation, so much hype,

(01:11:22):
and so little output from Deshaun Watson and often injured
and now in this case, it looks like a season's
over for him. But yeah, we'll see. We'll see what
happens in Cleveland next because Dorian Thompson Robinson quality backup
not great, But with some of the tools they have
around this Brown's offense, I'm very curious to see what

(01:11:43):
they look like with a fresh face at that quarterback position.

Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
The Lions leaning at halftime twenty one to ten after
spotting the Vikings ten to start the game, and again
the Vikings score. First score came after a failed fake
punt in their own territory by the Lions, and since
then it has been all Lions. Jared Goff perfect half again,
twelve of twelve hundred and fifty six yards in a score,

(01:12:07):
and Jamiir Gibbs got an opportunity when David Montgomery went
down early with an injury. Montgomery will return hoping he
hasn't lost his job. Jamiir Gibbs eight carries for eighty
four yards.

Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
And two share the touchdowns.

Speaker 6 (01:12:21):
Good relation. They share that backfield. I think thereby coach
called them sonic and knuckles this past week.

Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
With all due respect to David Montgomery, you's had a
really good year. I mean you got to stay with
a hot hand, right If you got Jamiir Gibbs running
wild and averaging ten and a half yards of carry,
why would he not stay in the game.

Speaker 6 (01:12:38):
They alternate between the two no matter what, like it
like whoever they think is gonna give him the best
chance in a good spot. Right now, I go, jam
Gibbs is shifty and Monty will just murder you if
you try to touch him.

Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
Like it's it's two different flavors, but both have worked
for right.

Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
So Rich, I know you lose a lot obviously with
Aiden Hutchinson going out, and they've had a lot of
injuries on that defensive side of the foot.

Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
But the way this offense is humming right now.

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
You mentioned at the very top of the show, where's
the MVP love for Jery Goff?

Speaker 3 (01:13:07):
I mean if he continues on like this.

Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
But if the Lions do prevail on the road against
the Vikings, you know the Ravens are red hot right now.
I mean, right now, I would say, am my power rankings,
forget the records. I would have the Lions as the
one seed in the NFC, and I'd have the Ravens
as the one seed and the AFC.

Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
I completely agree with that assessment.

Speaker 4 (01:13:30):
I don't think there's any teams that give more teams
problems and fits than the Ravens in Detroit in their
own respectives.

Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
I think they're the most complete teams right now.

Speaker 4 (01:13:43):
Well, and also think about what a war you're in
for when you're facing Detroit, even without Aden Hutchinson, you
are going to walk away brus and batters and remembering
that game for weeks to come because of It's just
such a physically violent style of play. And John Harbaugh
has done this for years in Baltimore, and he's added

(01:14:04):
a bruiser and Derrick Henry, who looks like he's found
the fountain of youth. He looks better in a Baltimore
uniform than he has the last few years hobbling around
in a Tennessee uniform. So I'm really excited for both
of those teams. And I love the style of play
because it really does feel like football in a time
where the passing games are going nuts. And don't get

(01:14:24):
me wrong, like we just said, Detroit probably has my
favorite to win the MVP right now. They are playing
a physical style football that is going to be really
good in cold weather months ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
The last time the NFL champion was the Detroit Lions
nineteen fifty seven.

Speaker 3 (01:14:39):
They beat the Cleveland Browns in the championship game.

Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
That Cleveland Browns team became the Baltimore Raven correct correct
see the cemetery there.

Speaker 4 (01:14:50):
That coach, that Cleveland Brown's coach went off to lead
the best franchise in recent history, which was Bill Balchick
lost his job in Cleveland, went to the Patriots, arrests.

Speaker 2 (01:15:02):
He was the last coach of the Cleveland Browns before
they became the Baltimore Ravens. All right, this time, just
throwing it out there, all right. On the other side,
we'll get these second half's underway. Seven games around the NFL.
This is Red Zone Radio Steve Harbin and Rich Rmberger
Red Zone Radio. And the Lions are on fire. Yeah,
We're live from the tire rack dot Com studios. The

(01:15:25):
Lions just got in the end zone again. Brian Branch
on the receiving Now are they reviewing this play?

Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
I think they're reviewing it.

Speaker 6 (01:15:32):
Their questioning whether or not the nailor stepped out before
this pick six.

Speaker 3 (01:15:39):
I believe. I'm not quite sure what's going on here yet.

Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
All Right, So they are reviewing a score that would
put the Lions up twenty seven to ten, and they
have been absolutely on fire after spotting the Vikings in
early ten to nothing lead.

Speaker 3 (01:15:57):
So we'll wait on the ruling there.

Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
Meanwhile, the Falcons have getting gotten back in this game
against the Seahawks. They were down seventeen to seven at
the half. However, they just got a touchdown pass from
Kirk Cousins to Drake London. So now seventeen fourteen, Seattle
leading Atlanta, and what did they ruled there?

Speaker 6 (01:16:18):
They ruled an incomplete Naylor got his foot out of
the sideline before the ball came out, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
So take that score and the Allions still lead by
a score of a twenty one to ten. We talked
about the Texans and the Packers really a test for
the Texans, and the first half was not good for CJ.

Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
Stroud five of eleven for forty four yards.

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
That's the second fewest yards he's had in any half
in his career. He was also sacked three times for
twenty two yards of losses. So in the first half
the Texans only had twenty two net yards passing. The
only thing saving them Joe Mixon eighty six yards rushing
in two scores, and that's why they lead at the half.

Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
But c J.

Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
Stroud struggling in this game on the road against the Packers.

Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
Look, I think that this is the best quarterback that
the Houston Texans has faced so far this season. As
a matter of fact, A Miko Ryan said as much
this week leading up to this game. And there's a
lot of conversation about the return of Romeo Dubbs from
his one game suspension. He's been the most consistent receiver,

(01:17:28):
but Jaden Reid has emerged, Wicks has emerged. Like the
Packers may be the deepest squad in terms of receiver
helping Jordan Love has emerged as one of the best
passers in this league over the course of now parts
of two seasons. So the Packers they feel like a
team that stumbled out the gates you had the Love injury.
They're getting right, and they're getting right at just the

(01:17:50):
right time, because this is gonna be one of the
teams to take a very close look at in the NFC.
If Detroit is the top and Atlanta is an emerging favorite. Also,
I would put Green Bay in the top five as well,
and they can overtake some of the teams I just mentioned.

Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
I would agree with that.

Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
By the way, the Bills take the lead against the
Titans on an Amari Cooper touchdown reception from Josh Allen
twelve yards score his first catch as a Bill, first
touchdown as a Bill. Who's going to have a bigger
impact Amari Cooper with the Bills or Devonte Adams with
the Jets.

Speaker 4 (01:18:24):
I think it's going to be Devanta Adams because I
think the DeVante Adams trade is a conference shifting trade.
I think that there's potential. I'm not going to guarantee anything,
but there's potential that DeVante Adams and his relationship standing
relationship with the starting quarterback in New York, Aaron Rodgers,
is what's going to save the Jets season.

Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
Look, they have enough.

Speaker 4 (01:18:46):
Talent around them, but Aaron Rodgers, you can tell he's
frustrated with the mistakes of a lot of guys who
haven't played a long time with him. So he's leaning
on guys like Alan Lazard, right, you know, he that's
his go to. He publicly told the media the reason
he threw a pick was Mike Williams at running the
wrong route. I mean, think about how far you got

(01:19:07):
to get in your frustration to out one of your
teammates publicly for running the wrong route. Now he's bold,
Aaron Rodgers speaks his mind, and this isn't the first
time he's gone, you know, pretty far down the way.

Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
To prove his point.

Speaker 4 (01:19:23):
But the reality of the situation is he doesn't trust
his receivers and DeVante Adams is a trusted target for
Aaron Rodgers. I think it could shift the entire AFC
if it goes well.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Well, it'll go better for the Jets if they get
more consistent play out of their offensive line.

Speaker 3 (01:19:39):
They need so much I so much more out of
that run game. I agree with them. Everyone's like, where
is Bryce Hall?

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
I mean, he showed so much promise and that running
game has been non existing. All right, second half is underway.
Seven games in the NFL. We got it all covered
for you. This is Red Zone Radio. We're rolling along
here on a fully loaded NFL Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
This this is Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
We are broadcasting live from the ti rack dot com studios.

Speaker 3 (01:20:04):

Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
We're gonna help get you there. No nonmatched selection, fast
read shipping free road has a protection over ten thousand
recommended installers ti i rack dot com the way tire
buying should be.

Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
All right. We've had a lot of.

Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
Fireworks today, a lot of things going on. The Seahawks
adding a touchdown. They're back to a ten point lead
on the road against the Falcons. As Geno Smith, it's
had a great day seventeen of twenty three, one hundred
and ninety nine yards and two touchdowns. With no picks
one touchdown, the latest Kenneth Walker, who scored his second
touchdown any rushing touchdown, earlier in the game. Meanwhile, we

(01:20:40):
are watching the Philadelphia Eagles on Bo Benson's birthday, trying
to get the ball in the end zone. They lead
this game by a score of fourteen to three. Jalen
Hurts had to scramble and throw the ball away. So
fourth down play here, You're going to go for a
field goal?

Speaker 3 (01:20:59):
Here? Are you getting greedy? What do you say, Paul?
What are you doing here on your egles? What do
you do here? Come on now?

Speaker 5 (01:21:06):
I would actually go for it. Honestly. They have sacked
Daniel Jones like five times you already in the first
half at least. I don't know if they've added to
that since then. But yeah, I would just go for it.
Whatever I think, I agree with you.

Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
You got a fourth and two, You could get a
fresh set of downs near the goal line, and it
looks like they are inside the ten yard line. The
Philadelphia Eagles offense is staying on the field. Fourth and
two from the Giants. What six yard line?

Speaker 3 (01:21:31):
Here's what I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Why would you throw on third down when you've got
Saquon Barkley in your back. I mean, if you're gonna
go four downs here, right, a couple of handoffs to
Barkley would seem to do the job all day for Hurts,
What is going on here?

Speaker 3 (01:21:44):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
And he scrambles and he gets just short of the
end zone. But it's a first down. See what was
so crazy about that run is Jalen Hurts. He got
the first down, and it seemed like he was satisfied.
Why not slide, just slide, get down because what he
did was so weird. It looked like he could have
had the touchdown if you wanted, all you had to
do was spin off the defender.

Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
Was that the perfect pocket in the history of the NFL?

Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
He had five seconds?

Speaker 2 (01:22:09):
So he's bouncing on his day long and we again,
you're inside the two guard line. He stops his hoom
and it was his right shoulder too that he lowered.
Your night like, no, no, no, don't do that. All right,
the Eagles are trying to push in. Meanwhile, touchdown pass
Joe Burrow to Jamar Chase yep. So the Bengals increased
their leading out to fourteen to six over the Browns.

Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
If you missed it.

Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
Deshaun Watson was carted off the field what looked like
a serious lower leg injury, and speculation abounds that it
was indeed an achilles, but we don't have official.

Speaker 3 (01:22:43):
Word yet on that.

Speaker 2 (01:22:45):
Packers have a lead now over the Texans twenty one
to nineteen. Jordan Love's third touchdown pass of the game.
He's also thrown a couple of interceptions in this game.
The big story here on Houston side is that they're
still in this game despite the fact that CJ. Straut
is five of twelve for forty four yards. I mean,
they've had a zero passing offense in this game, but

(01:23:08):
are still in the game.

Speaker 4 (01:23:09):
I think one of the most underrated storylines of the
Houston Texans success that nobody really talks about nobody is
the fact that Will Anderson Junior has been a force
off the edge for the Houston Texans. Now. He was
the other first round draft pick the Houston Texans took
in the draft last year that has worked out gangbusters

(01:23:31):
for Houston.

Speaker 3 (01:23:32):
But because of the success of CJ.

Speaker 4 (01:23:34):
Stroud, everybody forgets about the Alabama pass rusher who was
one of the best defenders in the NFL. Last year
and has already piled up five and a half sex
sacks heading into this week, which is the most by
Houston player in six games since he excuse me, JJ
Watt in twenty eighteen with seven.

Speaker 3 (01:23:53):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:23:53):
So he is on pace to do jj Watt numbers
sacks wise, and that's the reason why Jordan up what
we got.

Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
That's Jared Goff's first incomplete pass of the game.

Speaker 3 (01:24:06):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
He was fifteen to fifteen until a tipball at the
line of scrimmage. Lions lead this game twenty one to seventeen,
but he was fifteen to fifteen and this ball was
tim at the line of scrimmage, and that is the
first incomplete pass gate of the game for Jered Goff.

Speaker 4 (01:24:26):
Yea, it looks like he was looking for Laporta and
one of the pass rushers from Minnesota got two hands
on that football falls helplessly to the ground. And so
the perfect day for Jared Goff is ruined as the
Detroit Lions lead the Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota twenty one seventeen,
facing now a second and ten and the playclock just
ran out. So I'm assuming the Lions called the time

(01:24:48):
out there looking at a second and ten from midfield.

Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
Meanwhile, Philadelphia, the Eagles, they.

Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
Just went for a tush push and the Giants got
called for an offside, so they moved the all up
half the distance. They got that one was in and
so they do the tush push again and Jalen hurts.
He makes good. He gets in the end zone, and
so the Philadelphia Eagles on Bo Benson, our executive producer's birthday,
lead twenty to three, and he's all the way back

(01:25:18):
as a Philadelphia fan after a brief respite becoming a
Los Angeles Rams fan. He has literally made the cross
country allegiance change.

Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
The Rams are one and four right now.

Speaker 5 (01:25:29):
Okay, so the Rams are one and four, and I
believe they're favored by more than a touchdown today against
the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (01:25:34):
Yeah, have the mighty have fallen?

Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
When is the last time you were here in studio
with your Eagles cap.

Speaker 4 (01:25:43):
It's been weeks, No, like two days ago, okay, never
find never mind, I meant forty.

Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
I mean I mean on this show. Oh, on this show. Yeah,
two weeks, maybe two weeks.

Speaker 5 (01:25:52):
I think it's a nice little sabbatical, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:25:55):
It rotates through a lot of teams. Caps too.

Speaker 4 (01:25:57):
Sometimes distance makes the heart grow fund you know, Yeah,
I tell you if that's accurate, Nor do I know
if I'm saying that correct.

Speaker 3 (01:26:05):
I don't know if we could be a fan of
this Miami Indianapolis game. It is ten ten.

Speaker 2 (01:26:11):
Tyler Goodson did get a rushing touchdown for the Colts
in this game. Anthony Richardson in his return, is five
of fifteen passing, so he is struggling to get the
ball in his receiver's hands. With your quarterback is not
a good place to be. But I get a sense
here rich that we are going to Last week it
was a rare week for us where we got to

(01:26:32):
the end of the morning games. We only had six
games last week and none of them went down the wires. Yeah,
nothing was even close. Yeah, we got close games this week.
There's no question.

Speaker 4 (01:26:42):
Jared Goff unloads from midfield and it's a strikedown to
the twenty five yard line of the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
He finds his man over the middle.

Speaker 4 (01:26:52):
Tim Patrick, who this offseason was kind of scrap heaped
the Detroit Lion said yeah, we'll take him, and he's
finding a home with this Lion's offense. Golf is now
sixteen of seventeen for two hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:27:05):
And ten yards.

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
He actually got his right arm ripped, but he held
onto the ball and completed the pass through a dime
right there. So golf is on fire, Chris. You know
it comes in, he goes. I just don't think he'll
get any MVP votes. He'll get MVP votes.

Speaker 3 (01:27:21):
If he keeps the Lion.

Speaker 2 (01:27:23):
If the Lions go you know, fourteen and three this year, yeah,
he'll get MVP.

Speaker 6 (01:27:28):
I just I think I'm working on last year's thing
where every time Goff did something very well, it was
always the credit Wentz offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
So we'll see. But if he keeps having these streaky games.

Speaker 5 (01:27:38):
Especially this year when there's no one that's really standing
out standing out, you can't you can't give it to
Patrick Mahomes this year.

Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
Now when you're in nineteenth ranked passer in the league.
He doesn't care about that anyway. He just wants to
win another Super Bowl. Bills now leading the Titans fourteen
to ten. They were actually down ten to nothing in
this game, but have regained the leads. They have a
second and seven now at the Tennessee ten yard line.
So the Bills again looking to, you know, keep their

(01:28:06):
distance from the rest of the AFC East. And that's
why if the Bills do win this game, well, you
talk about pressure on the Jets.

Speaker 3 (01:28:14):
You know you don't want to go three games down
to the Bills.

Speaker 11 (01:28:17):
No, you don't.

Speaker 3 (01:28:18):
And also, let's be honest.

Speaker 4 (01:28:20):
I for all of the issues the Titans have, and
there's plenty, they have a really good defense. They actually
lead the NFL in total defense, holding teams under two
hundred and fifty yards per game, which is the third
fewest elabber game in the last five games since nineteen
seventy six.

Speaker 3 (01:28:39):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:28:39):
Yeah, so I mean a very very good Tennessee Titans defense.
In the Detroit Lions get into the end zone on
a quick pass out to the sideline Khalif Raymond on
the catch and run, and that puts the Lions on
the board again, leading by ten, now twenty seven to
seventeen over the Vikings in Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (01:28:58):
Okay, so I need the over in this game because
I took the Vikings, but I need the over.

Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
Yeah, they jumped all over the over here. I'm looking
good on the open. Well, this game's not over. You
just saw justin Jefferson answer in a big way.

Speaker 2 (01:29:10):
Well I'm not I'm counting out, but it would offset
if the if the Vikings lose the game, because I
would get that offset if I go over. So I
need that absolutely, Amazi laughing. She knows we're in a
battle in our picks. On her Saturday show, she had
I had a two point league going into last week
and everything fell apart.

Speaker 4 (01:29:27):
I mean now I'm trailing by it. So what's so
funny is when we started the show, He's like, rich,
now you bet all over the NFL every single weekend.
And I'm like, well, no, Steve, you do.

Speaker 2 (01:29:39):
By the way, I will say this, one thing we
missed yesterday was that USC collapse against Maryland. Yeah, and
you know I've been hammering Lincoln Riley all year long
saying this guy is the biggest fraud around.

Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
He's not a head coach. He's not.

Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
I mean I would hire him as a quarterback coach.
Yeah yeah, maybe maybe as a coordinator. He has actually
had get this. He's had the work he has. He's
had a worst fourteen game run than Clay Helton ever.

Speaker 3 (01:30:07):
Had at USC. He's had a word his last.

Speaker 2 (01:30:11):
Fourteen games to the last fourteen games is worse than
any fourteen game run that Clay Helton had.

Speaker 4 (01:30:18):
Well, you pay this guy ten times the sal and
that's exactly what I was about to say. Clay Helton
felt like a placeholder the whole time he was the
US head coach.

Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
Lincoln Riley.

Speaker 4 (01:30:30):
Lee, Riley's not going anywhere these boosters, He's alumni unless
they want to pony up another enormous amount where people
will get Will.

Speaker 3 (01:30:38):
Ferrell to make Anchorman three and three hundred million.

Speaker 5 (01:30:41):
That's the plan. We're going to force Will Ferrell to
make Anchorman Three'll sell it to Netflix for four hundred film.

Speaker 2 (01:30:46):
Basically you realize the basically Lincoln Riley a fifteen million dollars.

Speaker 5 (01:30:51):
Well, if you're about this life, will you will make
Ankerman this spring.

Speaker 4 (01:30:55):
Will Ferrell is starring in Anchorman three and kicking its
screaming too, only on Netflix. All right, we continue on
here as we're heading to the end of third quarters
of seven games around the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:31:09):
This is red Zone Radio.

Speaker 10 (01:31:11):
Gino steps off the boys, one man lands it over
the top, Walker touchdown, Sayhawks. Ken Walker the third reaching
up making a diving reception in the front corner of
the end zone from seventeen out.

Speaker 2 (01:31:26):
That's the Seahawks Radio network and Seattle twenty four to fourteen.
Now as ahead of the fourth quarter in Atlanta, Seahawks
trying to snap a three game losing streak.

Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
This is Red Zone Radio Steve Harbin and Rich Arnberger
with you.

Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
We are live from the tai iraq dot Com studios.
We have been celebrating bo Benson's birthday today.

Speaker 3 (01:31:49):
Did you have any of the ad birthdays? Yeah? Are
you saving those for later? What happened?

Speaker 5 (01:31:54):
I had one one, I'll take them home.

Speaker 3 (01:31:57):
Well, how many are there? Are they super specialized? I'm
gonna come into that studio. H We're gonna We're gonna
take it.

Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
There's six donuts, I believe there's there was a glazed twitter.
There's a couple of bits, some glazed ones. Yeah, Rich
is coming in to inspect the donuts.

Speaker 3 (01:32:12):
Well, first of all, rich walked by an open box
of donuts.

Speaker 5 (01:32:14):
Was rare.

Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
Heut reaching reaching. Yeah, those are for the plubs. Yeah,
so they I've rarely seen him walk by an open
box adonus without grabbing one.

Speaker 5 (01:32:24):
They're nice.

Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
Okay there that Oh those are nice. Those are good
looking donuts.

Speaker 2 (01:32:29):
I agree, But Richie can't grab a donut on your
way back from the other open box. Those came in
today and those are open to you, so rich can
grab one of those donuts. Need putting the pink box back,
all right, So we are getting to some fourth quarter
action around the NFL. Lions lead the Vikings by a
score of twenty eight to seventeen. Jared Goff eighteen of

(01:32:51):
nineteen passing and two touchdowns in this game, two hundred
and twenty seven yards through the year. Aaron Donna, by
the way, is nineteen of twenty three, one hundred ninety
four yards a touchdown. He does have the one interception,
So the numbers in this game it's like almost identical.

Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
I miss what he said. Did you say Aaron Donald
is the Sam Donald? Sam Donald? I was gonna say
Aaron Donald tackle. It came back as the Vikings quarterback.
I told you there was a maple one for you.

Speaker 4 (01:33:21):
When you said that, I didn't believe you because I
didn't see the box from where I was sitting.

Speaker 11 (01:33:24):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (01:33:25):
Really nice, very nice by Brie.

Speaker 4 (01:33:27):
That is a gorgeous box of Dunkin donut or I
don't know if they're Dunkin. I think they're some sort
of pink box over there. Very good, very good selection.
I did not eat any of Bo's birthday donuts.

Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
You were tempted. I was this close to eating one
of his birthday donuts.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
I didn't gonna do it behind his back. You know,
you were standing behind him. I thought for she like
take a big chomp.

Speaker 3 (01:33:47):
Well, yeah, he wasn't looking looking. I don't think Bo
would have minded, but Brie absolutely what.

Speaker 5 (01:33:53):
I am surprised between Rich Hornberger and Ryan Berschinger that
there's not been a theft of the special birthday donuts.

Speaker 8 (01:34:00):
Yeah, I mean we're speaking too soon.

Speaker 4 (01:34:02):
Ye day, it is midday. Yeah, I got all day
to plot against you. Boh okay, I looked over you.
I thought you had inhaled that thing. At least you
put it down for no second.

Speaker 3 (01:34:14):
I realized.

Speaker 4 (01:34:15):
So I ate a third of the maple bar, and
I realized, I really want a cup of coffee with it.
So I'm going to try to delay gratification. Maybe when
Mazi does her updating a little bit here, I'm going
to quickly run and get a couple.

Speaker 2 (01:34:26):
Rich never needs an excuse to get another cup of coffee.
It is insanity. How you do that Eagles already leading
the Giants by a score of twenty one to three.
We just ended the third quarter there and the Giant
Eagles are in position to score again. By the way,
if you got Saquon Barkley on your team this week,
oh you're smiling big. Seventeen carries one hundred and seventy

(01:34:48):
six yards rushing in this game for Saquon Barkley. He
has a touchdown as well. By the way, aj Brown
five catches, eighty nine yards and a score. So yeah,
say Kwan Barkley, would you like an against his former
team on the field that he used to play on?

Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
And we're not.

Speaker 5 (01:35:09):
Going to talk positively about the Eagles on host birthday.
Barring unforeseen disaster, this will be the Eagles first win
by two touchdowns in a calendar year.

Speaker 9 (01:35:21):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:35:21):
The last time they won a game by double digits
was October twenty second against the Miami Dolphins last year.

Speaker 3 (01:35:27):
How about that?

Speaker 4 (01:35:28):
How about that, Philadelphia fans, stand up, Your Eagles are
getting it done. On America's executive Producer's birthday, Bo Benson's
I mean, I really honestly, today you celebrate your birthday
and America celebrates along with you. And you know, we
just were talking about Will Anderson Junior and how he's
been such an underrated part of the Houston Texans formula

(01:35:50):
for success over more than a season. Now Green Bay
was facing a third down. Now they have to punt
because Will Anderson just got his six and a half
sack this season. He leads the team obviously, and he's
been doing yeoman's work for this this Demico Ryans defense
that's been stout at times this season and last season.

(01:36:11):
Jordan Love, big guy, hard to bring down. He got
to his blind side and he dragged them to the
turf offully quick. So now it's gonna be Houston's ball
with a fresh set of downs after the punt return,
and they're going to try to look to grab the
lead again as they trail twenty one to nineteen in
Green Bay with thirteen to fifty nine left in the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
I got news for you.

Speaker 2 (01:36:30):
The Eagles push is not working as well without Jason Kelsey,
no question about that.

Speaker 3 (01:36:35):
Oh there's no question.

Speaker 2 (01:36:36):
Te Higgins on the receiving hand of a Joe Purrow
touchdown pass. Now twenty one six, Bengals in control on
the road against the Browns and Derek Hall a sixty
four yard fumble return for the Seahawks as they're beginning
to pull away. Now lead the Falcons thirty one to fourteen.

(01:36:56):
This was a really big game for the Seahawks. Remember
they started three and zero. They lose three in a row.
You're on the road against a Falcons team that came
in this week, believe it or not, is the number
two seed in the NFC, and the Seahawks have been
really impressive today.

Speaker 4 (01:37:10):
Also another scoring update, a forty seven yard field goal
off the foot of Reichard is pure.

Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
So the Vikings now trail the Detroit Lions. Is it
twenty eight to twenty?

Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
It is a one score game? Twenty eight twenty Here
it is.

Speaker 4 (01:37:24):
Okay, so twenty eight twenty Lions still have the lead,
but Vikings finding a way to answer scores here, justin
Jefferson on the last drive, that field goal on this
drive this if you were wondering if the over is
going to hit, it does in fact feel like.

Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
The its fields. I need one more field goal for
the over. By the way, Bill's trailed the early.

Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Against the Titans ten nothing, but it's been all Bills
since and they're knocking on the door again, leading the
Titans seventeen to ten. They have a first and goal
at the Tennessee two yard line. So we were talking
earlier about games coming down to a finish. I don't
think the Eagles Giants is going to Bengals Browns doesn't
look good. Seahawks Falcons, But the other four games builds

(01:38:08):
up by seven that could get ugly in a second.
But I think this Packers Titans game at Texans game's
going the wire. Dolphins Colts is just an aptitude on
both offenses. Ten to ten at the end of three
quarters there and again this Lions Vikings game, you get
a sense that the Vikings, you know, they could make
it a game. Jalen Hurts, by the way, just got

(01:38:29):
in the end zone on another push play. So this
is just getting to be a blowout right now. As
the Eagles have taken a twenty seven to three lead,
penning the extra point on the road against the g Men.
By the way, quarterback comparisons in that game, Jalen Hurts
quiet day ten to fourteen and fourteen yards, a touchdown,

(01:38:51):
no interceptions. He only has twenty one yards rushing, did
have a touchdown on the ground Daniel Jones just doing
his thing fourteen to twenty one ninety nine yards. But
get this, sacked seven.

Speaker 3 (01:39:03):
Times, goodness gracious, fifty six yards and losses.

Speaker 2 (01:39:07):
So that means the Giants only have forty three net
yards passing. In fact, with eleven minutes to go in
the game, they only have one hundred and four total yards.

Speaker 3 (01:39:18):
I mean in this game.

Speaker 4 (01:39:19):
It gets worse from there when you open up the
team stats. So far through the action, they've only a
massed less than ten first downs total.

Speaker 3 (01:39:29):
They're three of eleven on third down.

Speaker 4 (01:39:31):
Actually, they're more efficient percentage wise than the Eagles are
on third down. The Eagles are one for nine, but
they're making it work on other drives, other plays. And
Daniel Jones, as you mentioned, is having one of the
worst days he's had in his career.

Speaker 3 (01:39:47):
And that is saying a.

Speaker 2 (01:39:49):
Lot seven sacks, right, I mean, I'm sure that you
were on a few offensive lines that had a tough
day at the office. How do you review the film
when you get back and it's sacks sacked, sack.

Speaker 4 (01:40:00):
Well, here's the problem, sack. So we do study our mistakes.
There's no question about it. When you get into a
film room, you sit down and you're always hyper critical
of yourself and your position group. First, however, we're not dummies.
You watch a lot of football. You see how other
quarterbacks get the ball out of their hand, and you
start looking at the available and open options on the

(01:40:22):
field that for whatever reason, your quarterback isn't seeing. So
all of a sudden, you see a receiver wide open
in the flat, and you got a quarterback patting the
ball back there for four seconds and taking a sack.
You're like, dude, throw the football, throw it, like, we
can only keep these highly paid finally two athletes off
your back for so long. You need to help us

(01:40:43):
out here too. And Daniel Jones this has been a
problem with him his entire career. He spends too long
in the backfield, massaging the football and talking nice to
it before throwing it, and it gets them and himself
into a ton of trouble over the.

Speaker 3 (01:40:56):
Course of a season.

Speaker 2 (01:40:57):
It's not just seven sacks. They're averaging eight yards per sack. Oh,
it's brutal. Those are big sets. And by the way,
he's also a pretty mobile guy. And that's a frustration
too when you're an offensive lineman because you're like hey, buddy,
also maybe help us out escape the pocket, get on
the edge and try to make something happen downfield, so

(01:41:17):
at least you slow down the rush. Look, Daniel Jones,
it's a failed experiment.

Speaker 3 (01:41:23):
In New York.

Speaker 4 (01:41:24):
It hasn't worked. Now with a couple of coaching staffs.
I think he's probably going to be relegated to the
realm of one of those veterans star or backup quarterbacks
that serves as a bridge quarterback, or you know, somebody
who can help a young guy get his feet wet
at the NFL level. But I mean, this is this,
This just has not worked consistently in New York since

(01:41:48):
he's been drafted.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
By the way, the Vikings defense has been highly touted
this year, the Lions have scored touchdowns on their last
four offensive possessions. Four straight possessions have ended with Lion touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (01:42:02):
And another deep strike over the middle. This one, I
believe to Khalif Raymond again a.

Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
Beautiful harving them up in breaking route, fourth straight third
down converted after they started zero for three in the spit.
What happened to this dominant Viking defense they've been exposed
by I guess right now, the hottest offense in the NFL,
or what they're doing in Detroit Lions.

Speaker 4 (01:42:22):
I mean, okay, so what I've watched, especially on the
third downs, as Chris is pointed out there, getting the
ball out of Jared Goff's hands, They're not, you know,
setting up these long developing route concepts. They're they're running
their receivers at ten and fifteen yards downfield. They're getting
the ball out over the middle of the offensive formation.
Jared Goff. He's either putting it right on his receivers

(01:42:44):
or his receivers are making great catches. And that's what
you have to do against a fierce pressure package. As
we take a look at this Seattle Seahawks game.

Speaker 2 (01:42:52):
That has blasted Kirk Cousins, Oh my goodness, that was
the touchdown I talked about a little bit earlier. All right,
let's find out what's trending right now. Mounsey stands by
gotta go get that coffee, go go. Yeah, he's gonna
go get that coffee for that bar.

Speaker 9 (01:43:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:43:10):
I'll stretch out this this update for him as best
I can.

Speaker 9 (01:43:14):
The Bills second in goal there at the Titans four
yard line to start the fourth quarter, but the Bills
in the first.

Speaker 8 (01:43:20):
Half went punt, punt, punt, touchdown, punt, punt. That was
the Bill's first half.

Speaker 3 (01:43:26):
Yeah, not good.

Speaker 9 (01:43:27):
No one on the second half, touchdown field goal. And
now they're knocking on the door to score again. So
they are beating the Titans seventeen to ten. They just
got going in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 8 (01:43:37):
Seahawks.

Speaker 9 (01:43:37):
Yeah, they're up on the Falcons in Atlanta, thirty one
to fourteen early in the fourth. You know, Smith has
thrown for one hundred and ninety nine yards and two
touchdowns so.

Speaker 3 (01:43:45):
Far in the game.

Speaker 9 (01:43:46):
The Bengals also came to life in the third quarter.
Joe Burrow, Joe Burrow throwing two touchdown passes. They are
beating the Browns twenty one to six. They're about to
start the fourth quarter. The Packers with the ball are
on top of the Texans at home, twenty one to nineteen.
Ten minute and it's left in that one. Jordan Love
has known for one hundred and sixty nine yards and
three touchdowns. Joe Mixon seventeen carries eighty seven yards two

(01:44:07):
touchdowns for the Texans. Dolphins and Colts tied at ten
apiece early in the fourth.

Speaker 8 (01:44:13):
Tyler Huntley has a shoulder injury, so he's actually.

Speaker 3 (01:44:17):
Out of the game for Miami.

Speaker 8 (01:44:20):
Tim Boyle is in at quarterback for the Dolphins right now.

Speaker 3 (01:44:23):
That would be the immortal Yes, yes, of course that one.

Speaker 9 (01:44:28):
That one. And if you're wondering how Tyreek Kill is
doing without mister Tuwatogovailoa. Zero catches, zero yards, only one target,
Tyreek Kill.

Speaker 3 (01:44:39):
Only one target?

Speaker 2 (01:44:41):
Can you imagine? I mean, we're talking a Hall of
Fame wide receiver.

Speaker 9 (01:44:45):
And since to a leftma m Ia, I'm also blaming
Jalen Watt And I was like, is he injured?

Speaker 8 (01:44:52):
Oh no, he's in the same boat as Tyreek Kill.
Just like nothing, nothing, nothing and nothing. Eagles all over
the Giants, That's true.

Speaker 9 (01:44:59):
Twenty eight to three is the score early in the
fourth quarter for the games to come. Rams wide receiver
Cooper Cup officially inactive today for their matchup against the Raiders.
Forty nine Ers wide receiver Ricky Pearson active for his.

Speaker 8 (01:45:14):
First NFL game. If you don't remember, he was shot
in the chest not long ago.

Speaker 9 (01:45:18):
Crazy, He's crazy active for his first NFL game. Also,
ap Top twenty five College football poll fell as Oregon
comes in at number one after Texas lost to Argel.

Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
If you want to be number one, remember we had
Georgia was number one, then it was Alabama was number one,
and then it was Texas number one, and now it's Oregon.

Speaker 8 (01:45:39):
Now it's Oregon. Georgia moves into number two.

Speaker 9 (01:45:42):
Then it's Penn State, Ohio State, and Texas to up
to round out the top five. Vanderbilt making its first
appearance since twenty thirteen, coming in at number twenty four.

Speaker 2 (01:45:53):
Army and Navy right now, twenty three and twenty four.

Speaker 3 (01:45:55):
That is unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (01:45:56):
It's been nineteen sixty was the last time that both
Army and Navy were ranked in the same pole nineteen sixty, Yes,
when Eisenhower was still president.

Speaker 3 (01:46:05):
And think about this, you're ready for crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:46:08):
Yeah, they could be matched up in the AA SED
championship game the week.

Speaker 3 (01:46:13):
Before the Army Navy game. That's incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:46:15):
So the Army Navy game is the last game of
the year after the conference championship game, So it is
conceivable that an undefeated Army undefeated Navy would play in
the AA Seed championship game and then play each other
the very next week.

Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
I love the actual Army.

Speaker 4 (01:46:31):
Navy it's just still as ridiculous as it's been recently.
It's still quirky, fun and different. It's like minor league baseball,
you know.

Speaker 3 (01:46:39):
Absolutely.

Speaker 5 (01:46:40):
While we have a little break in the NFL action here,
can we talk about Texas's fans embarrassing themselves on the
national stage.

Speaker 3 (01:46:46):
So they were throwing water bottles on the field at
the end.

Speaker 5 (01:46:49):
And setting maybe the worst president you could possibly imagine
in college football.

Speaker 2 (01:46:52):
Yeah, did they spook the officials to go back and
overturn that call? I have never seen. First of all,
it's not a reviewable call. So there was a passerer
Arran's call. There was a questionable call. Let's admit it
was questionable. And the guy returned it down inside the
ten yard line. And then the officials are conferring on
the field and they reversed a call.

Speaker 3 (01:47:10):
And I'm like, how do you reverse a call? You've
already had the official.

Speaker 2 (01:47:13):
Announce it pass interference defense, so he's already made the call.

Speaker 3 (01:47:19):
It was, it's not reviewable, and then they reversed the call.

Speaker 1 (01:47:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:47:24):
There, to answer your question, I put that coffee down. Yeah,
well I had to turn the volume down on that
maple bar. I heard literally nothing of what Monzy said.

Speaker 2 (01:47:34):
For about there was a maple bar that was pretty
good size and completely disappeared.

Speaker 3 (01:47:40):
Get he dunked right into.

Speaker 4 (01:47:41):
The cop apologize normally, I'm really paying attention to every
word that Manzy is saying.

Speaker 2 (01:47:46):
That combination of maple bar in coffee.

Speaker 3 (01:47:49):
Where is that ring? I mean, what do we move?
I mean, I can't even that is top five easy.

Speaker 4 (01:47:59):
I guess the smell movie theater popcorn is going to
come somewhere in the top five. I would put maple
barn number three, like a solid number three. I can
smell it here. It smells so good, that's not bad,
and it's already been eating all right.

Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
We have the Colts right now ten ten tie with
the Dolphins, fourth and goal at Miami's four yard line.
I'm gonna guess eight and a half minutes to go
in the fourth quarter, the Colts will go for the
field goal to at least.

Speaker 3 (01:48:25):
Take the lead in that game.

Speaker 2 (01:48:27):
Meanwhile, the Lions got stopped, So after four consecutive drives
of scoring, they got stopped, and the Vikings have the
ball and they are in Detroit territory.

Speaker 3 (01:48:38):
The Big playoffs to Addison. Yeah, yeah, the.

Speaker 2 (01:48:41):
Big play for Minnesota's defense was a sack of golf.
He actually fumbled the ball but fell on his own fumble,
and then they were not able to get the first down.
So the Vikings trail. It's a one score game. Lions
lead at twenty eight to twenty. Still nine minutes to
go here, but the Vikings have the ball in Detroit Territory,
Texas and Packers still tight. Packers lead this game twenty

(01:49:03):
one to nineteen, despite the fact that it's been a
rough day at the office for CJ. Stroud, just seven
of seventeen for seventy three yards. It's been sacked four
times in this game. And yet here's Houston only down two,
and they have the ball right now, and they are
taken over so eight minutes ago. Packers lead it by

(01:49:25):
a score of twenty one to nineteen.

Speaker 4 (01:49:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:49:28):
I like this Packers offense a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:49:30):
I mean, I mean, defensively, they're playing over their heads,
probably at a higher level than I suspected them to
be able to against Houston. But I like the multiple
options that Jordan Love are all all of a sudden
has to exploit with Dubbs and Watson and Wix. We
were talking about earlier and Reid they've got a deep

(01:49:50):
receiving core.

Speaker 3 (01:49:51):
Matt Lafleur.

Speaker 4 (01:49:53):
I don't think he gets enough flowers for how much
he was able to do with Aaron Rodgers during the
end of his time in Green Bay. And even though
it was always going to be a tumultuous transition from
Rogers to Jordan Love, he somehow navigated that. And Jordan
Loves looks like he looks like the real deal to me.
I really like the way he plays, I like the
way he competes. And this has been an absolute war

(01:50:16):
in Green Bay today between these two teams, both prideful bunches,
both obviously understand the importance of this game in terms
of tiebreakers in their own conference later on in the season,
so both of them want this.

Speaker 2 (01:50:30):
W All right, did we ever get official? We're guys
on the Deshaun Watson injury. Has it been official yet?
I mean it looked like an achilles so yeah, I don't.

Speaker 5 (01:50:39):
Think it's official official, but everybody's reporting achilles injury. If
you watch the video, it's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (01:50:43):
Oh we got a fancy play by the Vikings right now,
and JJ has got the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:50:49):
They did like a double reverse and it ended up
a two yard run.

Speaker 1 (01:50:53):
So well.

Speaker 4 (01:50:53):
So it was supposed to be a double pass, well
defended by Detroit. You'll see this here. So Justin Jefferson
comes in motion. It's an orbit motion, looking like he's
running the reverse. So Sam Donald fakes the handoff, toss
it to Justin Jefferson. He's looking for Donald on the outside.
He's under pressure, can't get it to Donald because he's
well covered, and he just tries to take it up

(01:51:14):
the middle of the offensive formation while keeping his eyes
down field. Yeah, like a quarterback would. Finally covers up
and takes the minimal two yard gain.

Speaker 3 (01:51:24):
On the play.

Speaker 2 (01:51:24):
Yeah, that's a lot of work for a couple of yards,
that's for sure, all right. So again the Vikings, though,
are inside the thirty yard line of Detroit. Arnold is
trying to pass, so Scramble again cannot get away, so
he gets the ball to the twenty eight yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:51:38):
It'll be third and about six from there.

Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
Meanwhile, Cleveland without Deshaun Watson, Dorian Thompson Robinson who leapfrogged
over Jameis Winston to get the opportunity, just six of
fifteen passing forty one yards and a pick. He does
have forty four yards rushing. He was the UCLA quarterback
I think for ten years. I believing I've never seen

(01:52:01):
a guy.

Speaker 4 (01:52:01):
That dtr started his college tenure when Obama was in office,
and he's only in his second year in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:52:08):
I think he started in Troy Aikman's backup and he
was still there just a couple of years ago. All right,
big third down play for the Vikings, down by eight
and again under siege. I thought these Lions defensive line
had no players left, and he's been under fire.

Speaker 3 (01:52:24):
What happened here?

Speaker 6 (01:52:25):
Of course, these guys, it looks like they're they're bringing
I'd have to watch this again. I don't know if
they brought a blitz on this, which is last year.
That was what Aaron Glenn, their defense coordinar, was very
good at dialing up. But yeah, just trying to swarm him.
Still a lot of time. But doesn't look like Aaron
Donald's getting anything downfield, and he's.

Speaker 2 (01:52:43):
Just the Spans for life. So on fourth and eight,
right now, the Vikings looking at a long field goal.

Speaker 5 (01:52:51):
They're gonna have to check the table.

Speaker 3 (01:52:52):
He field goal is.

Speaker 2 (01:52:53):
Good, guys, So the lead is now twenty eight to
twenty three. I believe it's over.

Speaker 3 (01:52:58):
Now it's over fifty one points.

Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
Listen to the two of you. Okay, So Steve, you
did it once already and Chris, now you've done it.
Aaron Donald is Aaron Donald.

Speaker 3 (01:53:07):
Chris Oh.

Speaker 4 (01:53:11):
Sam Donald is the starting quarterback for the Minnesota back.

Speaker 3 (01:53:15):
You know what my nickname is on the Pride Detroit podcast,
whether the adequate host? That right there is what we
call adequate.

Speaker 2 (01:53:21):
Okay, So I talk at Aaron Donald instead of Sam Donald,
and then I feed Chris to say the same thing.
Sam Donald and the Viking mind virus in here. They
walk away with a field goal. So it's now twenty
eight to twenty three. Lions lead the Viking six minutes
to go in the fourth quarter of the Colts did
get the field goal to take a thirteen to ten

(01:53:41):
lead over the Dolphins. All right, this insanity continues. Take
away what you will from it. We'll bring you all
the latest in terms of scores, stats and mispronunciation of names.

Speaker 3 (01:53:53):
This is red Zone Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:53:55):
He takes his usual position there behind him, he takes
the They push him and he is in for the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:54:04):
He is in for another touchdown his second of the game.

Speaker 2 (01:54:09):
Ninety four WIP Eagles Radio Network. Today, it's all been
about win one for Bo on his birthday, and the
Eagles have done that, blowing out the Giants twenty eight
to three. We are inside four minutes to go in
that game. Once again, this is Red Zone Radio. Steve
Hartman and Rich Ornberger with you. We are live from
the ti iraq dot com studios and look what has happened.

(01:54:33):
The Minnesota Vikings have taken the lead over the Lions
twenty nine to twenty eight. Chris, give us an update.

Speaker 3 (01:54:41):
What happened to here?

Speaker 6 (01:54:42):
David Montgomery fumbled the ball. I didn't I did not
see what the flag was going to be. You didn't
stop it, So either way, fumble recovery picked up by
the Vikings taken back.

Speaker 3 (01:54:52):
Yeah, the full way.

Speaker 4 (01:54:53):
It must have been against the Detroit Lions, because it
was a great job by the Vikings defense punching out
the football while Montgomery was looking to lay the wood
on one of their defenders. A linebacker was able to
knock it out and then a scoop and score for six.
They tack on the extra points, so.

Speaker 3 (01:55:09):
They did not get the extra point. They went for two.

Speaker 4 (01:55:12):
They went for two and did not get it. Oh
that's why it's twenty nine to twenty eight. I was
confused on the score. Okay, so twenty nine to twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (01:55:18):
Remember the.

Speaker 4 (01:55:21):
Twenty eight I forgot about the field goal. Okay, So
twenty nine twenty eight, Minnesota leading at home over the
Detroit lines. Like you said, Steve, we were really kind
of missing any close action a week ago in the
early slate.

Speaker 3 (01:55:34):
We're gonna have some close finishes here.

Speaker 2 (01:55:36):
Well, here's another one we were inside two minutes ago.
The Texans trailing the Packers twenty one to nineteen. They
have a third and fifteen at the Green Bay seventeen
yard line, so let's see what they do on third
down right now, It's been a tough day for CJ.
Strauti completes the pass, but well short of the first town.
They're gonna call it incomplete, so field goal team will

(01:55:58):
come on for the Texans, looking to take a one
point lead, but still plenty of time for the Packers.
Has been an interesting game for Jordan Love twenty at
twenty six hundred and eighty one yards three scores, but he's.

Speaker 3 (01:56:11):
Also thrown a couple interceptions in this game.

Speaker 4 (01:56:14):
Yeah, he's been under duress a lot in this game.
He's done some good things, he's done some bad things.
But that's what pressure does. It forces a quarterback into
making quicker decisions than he wants to, or he's hit
as he's thrown and you throw the ball up to
the defense, or it's a tip drill. So it's so, so,
so unbelievably important to make sure you have a pressure

(01:56:36):
package that works against a talented and strong and big
and mobile quarterback like a Jordan Love. That's exactly what
Houston has done on the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
And Jared Goff just got hit. I believe that was
a funble but recovered by the Lions. The thirty five
yard field goal for fair Bairn is good. So Houston
takes a twenty two to twenty one point lead in
this game against green Bay at Lambeau Field. Right now,
green Bay with one forty four left on the clock

(01:57:05):
inside the two minute warning here only has one time
out to.

Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
Try to drive the field and get the score all right.

Speaker 2 (01:57:11):
Four games that are not going to go down to
the wires. Seahawks lead the Falcons thirty four to fourteen,
big winning on the road for the Seahawks, Bill's blowing
away the Titans now twenty seven to ten, Bengals in
control up twenty one to six on the road against
the Browns, and of course we mentioned the Eagles blowing
out the Eagles by the Giants by a scorer twenty
eight to three. At least three games and right now

(01:57:32):
combined there is a five point difference in these games.
That includes the Colts leading the Dolphins thirteen to ten.
We're inside the three minute mark there, and the Colts
have the ball and they're trying to get themselves into
scoring territory. There are in Miami territory right now. Obviously

(01:57:53):
a touchdown would pretty much put it away. A field
goal would open the door for the Dolphins, but with
their offense right now, don't count on it all right,
So Texans lead the Packers twenty two to twenty one
inside two minutes to.

Speaker 3 (01:58:05):
Go there and the Vikings and the Lions.

Speaker 2 (01:58:08):
This has really been crazy because after the opening ten
points for the Vikings, the Lions seemed totally in control
of this game, and now a couple of big plays
for the Vikings have put them on top. Sam Darnald, Yeah,
not Aaron Donalds Sam Darnald is twenty one and twenty five,
two hundred and thirty nine yards started.

Speaker 3 (01:58:31):
She'll come back down to earth. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:58:32):
Aaron Jones has had a really good rushing day for
the Vikings eighty seven yards in the ground and one touchdown.
Jamiir Gibbs has been better for the Lions ninety eight
yards and two scores. And Jared Goff after a well
a perfect start. He was fifteen to fifteen at one
point twenty at twenty three, two hundred and fifty yards,
two touchdowns and a score, and right now he is
trying to at the very least get the Lions into

(01:58:54):
field goal position to retake the lead.

Speaker 4 (01:58:56):
And Vikings playing keep away here second and five after
a successful Aaron Jones five yard rush on first and
ten inside of their own thirty yard line, the Vikings
are going to try to milk this clock down. They
took the play clock all the way down to two seconds,
but the Detroit Lions defense that's gotten tighter in the
second half. They get Jones down inbounds near the sideline,

(01:59:19):
and so the clock is winding. And yeah, the Vikings
are doing exactly what they want to do. They're trying
to shorten this game, so Detroit has to hustle up
in their final drive.

Speaker 2 (01:59:29):
All right, So third and four for the Vikings at
their own twenty eight yard line. Obviously, if they can
get a first down here, we'll give them a chance
to run more of the clock. How will these three
games on the line turn out? Fight out by stay
with us all the latest on Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:59:47):
Off play action again, No, in fact, they're gon han
this one off.

Speaker 1 (01:59:51):
Hit, pissed off bye, I didn't past Junior inside the
ten down.

Speaker 2 (02:00:00):
That's k Fan one hundred point three FN Vikings Radio Network.
And the Vikings come back to take the lead twenty
nine to twenty eight over the Lions.

Speaker 3 (02:00:09):
We got a minute to go in the fourth quarter
and that game.

Speaker 2 (02:00:12):
Once again, this is Red Zone Radio and we are
broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios.

Speaker 3 (02:00:18):
Tire rack dot com.

Speaker 2 (02:00:18):
We're gonna get you there and our matt selection fast
reshipping free road as a protection over ten thousand recommended installers,
tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
So the Lions have the ball right now at the
Minnesota twenty two yard line and obviously there are going
to try to run clock. They're very much in field
goal position to retake the lead in this game. Meanwhile,

(02:00:42):
the Colts ended up with a field goal, so the
Dolphins are not dead on the how it's over, Colts
are going to beat the Dolphins sixteen to ten.

Speaker 4 (02:00:49):
There and then the Green Bay Packers find a way
to get the football all the way down to the
Houston twenty five yard line before their kicker kicks a
winning field goal forty five yard game winning field goal,
twenty four to twenty two victory for the Green Bay Packers.
That was an absolute war. That was an absolute war.

(02:01:10):
That was a fun watch. You have two five and
two football teams now, Texans dropped to five and two,
Packers improved to five and two. That's one of those
games where you look at and say, man, it felt
like it was more important than just a game for
both those squads. Both of them starting to put it
together now, both of them with a little bit of
a sluggish start to their season, and both of them

(02:01:33):
will be in the playoffs in their respective conferences if
they continue to play that way. That was an awesome watch,
all right.

Speaker 3 (02:01:40):
It is final. Colts beat the Dolphins sixteen to ten.
So the Colts get to four and three on the season.

Speaker 2 (02:01:46):
Even though Anthony Richardson was just ten to twenty four
passing this game, it was still good enough to keep
the Colts very much alive in the playoff picture.

Speaker 3 (02:01:54):
All right.

Speaker 2 (02:01:54):
So right now again the Lions are going to try
to run clock as they are very much in field
goal position right now to take the lead. A couple
of games still going on. Bill's blowing out the Titans
twenty seven to ten. Bengals, no problem with the Browns
still leading that game by a score of twenty one
to six. Now we do have some games they're going

(02:02:16):
to be kicking off here very shortly. Raiders at the Rams, woof,
that's a yeah, that's a tough watch right there. Panthers
on the road against the Commanders, you know, the Commanders
obviously with the Eagles winning today, and the Eagles did
win that game by a score of twenty eight to three.
So the Eagles got to four and two. Commanders come

(02:02:37):
in at four and two, try to get to five
and two and STI maintain their first place standing in
the NFC East.

Speaker 4 (02:02:44):
Yeah, yeah, you know, and look years of losing for
the Washington Commanders have brought forth this new era of
potentially winning for the Commanders of four and two football team.
You have this exciting young quarterback who's mobile and dynamic.
There hasn't been this much interest in that position since
RG three was playing for the Redskins back in the day.

(02:03:06):
But now with these Commanders, it's Jaden Daniels and he's
been living completely up to the billing of being a
top first round quarterback selection after winning the Heisman. He's
the goods, he's the real deal. And Cliff Kingsbury, his
offensive coordinator, is pulling all the right levers. And dan Quinn,

(02:03:26):
who had sort of felt like was almost like a
one B higher for the.

Speaker 3 (02:03:32):
Commission weird because we all thought he was going to Seattle. Yeah,
we thought he was going to Seattle. They hire Mike McDonald.

Speaker 4 (02:03:37):
We thought that the Commanders were actually more interested in
Ben Johnson, and he actually snubs Washington.

Speaker 3 (02:03:44):
He was like, you know what, Nah, I'm good with
the Lions.

Speaker 4 (02:03:48):
And so it ends up being dan Quinn, who had
a great tenure as a defensive coordinator with the Dallas Cowboys, so.

Speaker 2 (02:03:53):
Led Atlanta to a Super Bowl collapse.

Speaker 4 (02:03:56):
Led Atlanta to one of the most brutal Super Bowl
losses in the world in the history of the NFL,
but still got a team to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (02:04:05):
He did, and he did all right.

Speaker 2 (02:04:07):
So the Lions now are going to have a forty
four yard field goal attempt to win this game. Nineteen
seconds to go. The Lions, like I said, most of
this game, seem to be in control. The late fumble
return for a touchdown giving the Vikings the lead. The
kick is up and the kick is good. The Lions
take the lead thirty one to twenty nine, fifteen seconds remaining. Chris,

(02:04:31):
how do you feel about your Lions today?

Speaker 6 (02:04:34):
I am I'm not drinking caffeine again on a Sunday, Okay, yeah,
all right, Yeah, he's been walking cats is real with
a can, a large can, a sixteen ouncer ghost energy drink.
Because I've been in here since three am, yep, and
he has been vibrating throughout the hallways as he's made
his way around.

Speaker 3 (02:04:52):
I know, ibratings seem to be levitating, and so baits
is pure. The Lions get the win.

Speaker 4 (02:04:58):
The Minnesota Vikings are dealt their first loss of the season,
and now, really, hey, hold.

Speaker 2 (02:05:04):
Up, there's thirty seconds to go this fifteen seconds, fifty
seconds still do not ten no timeouts?

Speaker 6 (02:05:10):
You know, I know how much weirdness I've seen in
Lions games. I will jump through that plate glass window.
I mean, honestly, it's spoken bout.

Speaker 2 (02:05:15):
By the way, if you look at some of the
individual performances for the Lions today, all good goff twenty
to twenty five, two hundred and eighty yards, two touchdowns,
no picks. Jamir Gibbs, who had an opportunity when David
Montgomery got injured early in this game. Gibbs fifteen carries,
one hundred and sixteen yards and two scores, and Amal
Ross Saint Brown eight catches one hundred and twelve yards

(02:05:39):
and a score. By the way, Gibbs also had forty
four yards receiving. So a huge game for Jamiir Gibbs.
Does he take over? Is your number one guy? I mean,
Montgomery goes out briefly with an injury and Gibbs just
lights it up.

Speaker 3 (02:05:52):
I think they'll still split shifts.

Speaker 4 (02:05:54):
As you know, running backs, they really they averaged almost
the identical number of yards per game running the football.
Gibbs obviously more of a passing option than Montgomery.

Speaker 3 (02:06:07):
However, I will say this about Montgomery.

Speaker 4 (02:06:09):
He had a couple of really nice grabs in this
game in the passing game for Jared goff and and
both of them can serve that role.

Speaker 3 (02:06:15):
So yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:06:16):
As as Chris mentioned, Will Reikert, who has a career
long of fifty eight yards, is warming up.

Speaker 2 (02:06:24):
The leg on the sideline right now. You're looking at
a ninety six yard field goal. So he's got a
ways to go on the question time out by the way.

Speaker 6 (02:06:31):
To to to Rich's point, that's just to the Lions
have in all years, Like they don't believe in an
RB one. They have an RB one and A one
A yeah, and they are very happy with it. They've
got a hammer and an And now I'm going to ask.

Speaker 3 (02:06:42):
You a question. I mean a second.

Speaker 2 (02:06:46):
I want to say Sam Donald, Sam Darnold all day
right now, the first pass and.

Speaker 3 (02:06:53):
Downs three to one, game over? Did he get the spike?
Did he get the spike? No way?

Speaker 6 (02:07:00):
Okay, So what's happening here because one of the TVs
is ahead, that game is over.

Speaker 3 (02:07:05):
The Lion's TV in here, No, hang on, there's a
flag of the play. No way, there's a flag. Okay,
I'm watching in real time.

Speaker 2 (02:07:13):
They completed to pass over the middle to midfield right
at the fifty yard line. Yes, and he tried to
spike the ball. They had no timeouts, and to me,
my eyeball said, the clocketted. But here's what's crazy. If
there's a flag on the play, it can't be on
like an illegal procedure where you.

Speaker 3 (02:07:29):
Know, game over, game over, they're celebrating on the sideline.
It is a final it's illegal formation. Yeah, but how
could you call that?

Speaker 4 (02:07:37):
If time expires, you can't throw a flag for illegal formation.

Speaker 3 (02:07:41):
That's so dumb. I don't know it was. It had
as a late flag of form. I've seen weirder in
the line. Okay, what are they saying here?

Speaker 2 (02:07:48):
Illegal against Wait a second, then don't they get to
replay the play?

Speaker 1 (02:07:55):
Oh my.

Speaker 5 (02:07:57):
First down?

Speaker 3 (02:07:58):
My god, I hate this.

Speaker 2 (02:07:59):
Okay, so no, this game is still on, but there's
no time on the clock. Wait a second, they're putting
one second on the clock, but they got to go
all the way back to the thirty yard line. Oh man, man,
i've heard penalty. Dan Campbell's like, what is going on here?
You do not understand how high so they're saying it's

(02:08:23):
illegal on the on the vikings on the viking. But yeah,
but they're give them the ball a field.

Speaker 4 (02:08:29):
Right, But but it's a five hang on, listen, it's
a five yard penalty from the spot of the foul.

Speaker 3 (02:08:33):
So they get it on the forty five yards.

Speaker 2 (02:08:35):
But my point is they're saying that he there was
spiked the ball before the clock.

Speaker 3 (02:08:39):
Okay, so I didn't see that.

Speaker 4 (02:08:41):
I think that was So they're saying on the game
clock there was one second remaining.

Speaker 3 (02:08:48):
Everybody wind up time. Yeah, but still that that works out.

Speaker 2 (02:08:52):
Wait a second, if you don't everybody lined up, I'm
trying to get ten second run off.

Speaker 3 (02:08:56):
I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (02:08:58):
Here we go one Hail Mayor, he gets sacked, sacked,
Wait a second, who needs Aiden Hutchinson?

Speaker 3 (02:09:04):
What happened there? Will gets sacked and the score goes final.

Speaker 4 (02:09:08):
Detroit Lions win thirty one twenty nine in a bizarre finish.

Speaker 3 (02:09:13):
Dan Campbell honestly.

Speaker 4 (02:09:15):
Taking some umbrage with the lead official making his way
off the field.

Speaker 3 (02:09:18):
I'm telling you right now, they're gonna the league is
gonna look at this. This was not the right col
I agree. If they don't care if the If the.

Speaker 2 (02:09:26):
Vikings run up to midfield and try to spike the ball,
and you say they weren't lined upright, then you can't
spike the ball until everyone's on the line of scrimmage.
There should have been a ten second runoff on the
clock in the game.

Speaker 3 (02:09:39):
Should have been usually on a hail Mary, everyone's falling back.
The Lions didn't follow that script.

Speaker 6 (02:09:43):
Trevor Nawawski, who is deep, deep down the depth chart,
getting the sack all they immediately.

Speaker 2 (02:09:49):
You know why, because they watched Sean McDermott with Buffalo's
you know, screw up that play with Aaron Rodgers and
giving him what they rush two guys to give Aaron.

Speaker 5 (02:10:01):
Rogers.

Speaker 4 (02:10:02):
In the NFL, there is a ten second runoff on
illegal procedure penalties when they occur in the final minute
of the half for overtime, meaning the clock will continue
to run for ten seconds after the penalty is called,
effectively taking away valuable time from off the offending team.
This is considered a fair way to penalize offenses that
intentionally delay the game with illegal formations or in this case,

(02:10:25):
try to get a ball snap take a five yard penalty.

Speaker 3 (02:10:28):
This way, you can continue the game. You are one hundred, correct,
I tell you right now.

Speaker 2 (02:10:34):
The official walked up to Dan Campbell twelfth million stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:10:38):
I am telling you.

Speaker 2 (02:10:38):
I watched the official talk to Dan Campbell right at
the end when they finally and I think he told
him we blew that.

Speaker 3 (02:10:46):
Yeah. I think he did too. I think we blew
that they should have been a to off, second runoff.
But it didn't matter. The Lions get the win thirty
one to twenty nine. Alright, wow, all right, and.

Speaker 2 (02:10:55):
Shaddie finishes, and we got new games that are all
kicking off right now.

Speaker 3 (02:11:00):
Much more coming up here on Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 7 (02:11:03):
So here we go, Hatt into snap, Fox to hold
Jake Bates with.

Speaker 3 (02:11:08):
A forty four yard attemp Tash Mark Reich side.

Speaker 7 (02:11:11):
To give the Lions the lead. He's ready, there's the snap,
there's the spot, kick away, it is up and it
is good. Jake Bight sends it through. With fifteen seconds
to go, the Lions have taken the lead. It is
Detroit thirty one and the fightings twenty nine.

Speaker 3 (02:11:29):
Jake Bates comes up. Shoot, that's ninety seven one.

Speaker 2 (02:11:33):
The tickets the Lions radio network, and we are down
to one unbeaten team.

Speaker 3 (02:11:38):
Left.

Speaker 2 (02:11:39):
That would be the raigning champion Kansas City Chiefs. They're
getting ready for the start of their game here a
few minutes away, as the Chiefs will be on the
road against the forty nine Ers in a rematch of
last year's Super Bowl. Once again, Red Zone Radio Steve
Hartman and Rich Ornberger with you. We are alive from
the tire rack dot Com studios. Yeah, the craziness of

(02:11:59):
the end of that Lions Vikings game. And I know
the league's gonna say a mistake was made.

Speaker 4 (02:12:06):
Yeah, it's almost like cost in the game, but it
was made, posting a retraction after the damage is done.
Nobody was seriously harmed in the making of the ending
of that Detroit Lions game. I was my goodness, if
that would have been some sort of, you know, alterior
outcome where Sam Donald heaves a football close to the

(02:12:27):
goal line, they kick a walk off field goal. Who
knows what the NFL would have to do, They'd have
to step in and avoid a game. He knows what
the show would have to do. I would have just
walked out of You would have.

Speaker 2 (02:12:39):
The Carolina Panthers rivaling the Patriots is the worst team
in the league. Good start for them. Andy Donkon just
got picked off for a pick six. Dante Fowler sixty
seven yard interception return for a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (02:12:52):
The Commanders take the early seven nothing lead. It just
keeps getting worse for Dave Canalas and the Carolina.

Speaker 2 (02:13:00):
By the way, before the interception though they were actually
moving the ball. Carolina was going down the field and
then pick six and.

Speaker 4 (02:13:09):
Then by the way, on the opening play from scrimmage,
Jaden Daniels takes the football sixty yards down the field
on a split inside zone. You had a lot of
the Carolina defense going front side with the running back.
He sneaks out the back door and I mean he
racks off a fifty plus yard rush to start the
game for the Washington Commanders.

Speaker 2 (02:13:31):
All right, the Browns actually made this a one score game.
We weren't even paying attention. But the game is now over.
Cincinnati defeats Cleveland twenty one to fourteen, so the Bengals
now get to three and four. The big story this
game Deshaun Watson going down with an injury. It appeared
to be an achilles still not official word, but the Browns.

Speaker 3 (02:13:51):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (02:13:51):
Now on, you gotta start thinking about like does Miles
Garrett want to be with the Browns for a rebuild,
Like you gotta start thinking the trade deadlines coming up
at some point later in the season.

Speaker 2 (02:14:02):
Well, hold on a second, because we were talking about
the Lions losing Aiden Hutchinson. Max Crosby is he on
the trading block and with the Raiders? And you mentioned
Miles Garrett, the reigning defensive player of the year. I
don't know the way the Lions defensive front looked today.
They were look pretty.

Speaker 3 (02:14:17):
Good, I get it, but can you imagine how much
better they'd be with the addition?

Speaker 2 (02:14:22):
Would you have to give off for one of those guys?
Those are first round picks? I get it, but hey,
look the Rams.

Speaker 4 (02:14:28):
The Rams were able to trade away first round picks
and win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (02:14:32):
Yeah, and now they have a one in four record.
I've got a lot of injuries. I look at it.

Speaker 2 (02:14:37):
I want Well, let's ask Chris, Chris, would you trade
a first round pick if you're the Lions to get
a Miles Garrett or Max Crosby?

Speaker 4 (02:14:45):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (02:14:47):
I mean a single first round pick? Yeah, a single
one then yes, but it's not going to call it.
It's going to cost a lot more than a single
first round. I look at it this wheen you look
at two guys still in the prime.

Speaker 4 (02:14:58):
Yeah, career, But I treated you trade a first round
pick for either of those guys or even more value
than that.

Speaker 6 (02:15:03):
But it's not just that, it's the salary cap implications
of it. They still have to pay Aiden Hutchinson a
lot of other guys, and I the salary CAP's real.
You can't just wave it off. This Lions team has
built very well through the draft and continues to want to.
I just don't see them spending that kind of capital.
I could see them going after a Zadarius Smith if
the Bengals want to sell it, But like, I just
don't it Just I don't see the window Blockbuster trade

(02:15:26):
the windows open though, right, the Lions have this window,
and it's like it's one to keep the window open
as long as po Yeah, but the window.

Speaker 3 (02:15:32):
We know the NFL, nobody's the Patriots.

Speaker 4 (02:15:35):
Nobody can do what the Chief's doing. You have to
have a Brady, you have to have Mahomes. No offense
to Jared Goff, but he's neither. He's not that guy.
He's not him. He's a very talented quarterback who's having
MVP type numbers this season and has done that in
the past. But he isn't Brady, he isn't Peyton Is
he is in Mahomes. So what you gotta do is
exploit this window that's open right now. You have Gibbs

(02:15:58):
and you have Montgomery, and you have this defense, and
you have a'm Unross Saint Brown and Tim Patrick and Williamson,
and I mean.

Speaker 3 (02:16:06):
This offense is loaded, this defense is loaded. You add
one more piece.

Speaker 4 (02:16:10):
It could be the piece that takes you over the
top and maybe only win one Super Bowl while the
windows open.

Speaker 3 (02:16:15):
Or you just flare out in the playoffs. I think
here's the problem. It is like we're equating it.

Speaker 6 (02:16:19):
There's a second level that the Lions want to aim for,
and that's Packers Steelers territory, where you're making sure you're
in it every year.

Speaker 3 (02:16:26):
Okay, I don't think you want to more.

Speaker 4 (02:16:28):
Tell me if you tell me how many Steelers fans
are legitimately excited when their team is over five hundred,
They limp into the postseason, they get knocked out in
the divisional round, or.

Speaker 3 (02:16:39):
You just punch a ticket to the playoffs. Now you're
you're looking at this like by the way.

Speaker 2 (02:16:44):
The the bottom line on any team, as we found
out with the Chiefs, is Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (02:16:53):
Now it's still your quarterback play.

Speaker 4 (02:16:54):
Look out of there's no question you need a quarterback,
and it seems like the green Bay Packers found theirs
with Jordan Love. It was a tough day for green
Bay at home, but they get the victory twenty four
to twenty two. They improved to five and two on
the season, and one of Jordan Love's favorite targets, Romeo Dubbs,
join us on the phone.

Speaker 3 (02:17:15):
Line right now. It's Fox Sports Radio, Red Zone Radio. Romeo,
how you doing. I imagine pretty good after that win.

Speaker 11 (02:17:23):
Uh yeah, you know, in the moment, it feels very dye.
The game is over now, so I'm just looking forward to,
you know, moving on to the next week so that
we can continue there bee doing what we're doing at
the team.

Speaker 3 (02:17:43):
Yeah, Romeo, a big day for you today.

Speaker 2 (02:17:45):
Eight catches ninety four yards, so super production for you
and this passing attack. It looked like when Jordan Love
came back from injury, a little rust, but he seems
to be humming right now. Give us a little sense
of his paga this season. Do you feel like he's
back to the level that we saw at the end
of last season.

Speaker 11 (02:18:07):
He is definitely at that level. He puts in the
work every single day, you know, and I am very
fortunate enough to witness his work essyear because that's not
what people see obviously throughout the course of the week.

(02:18:27):
They only see his play on Sundays Mondays for Thursday.
So yeah, man, Jordan knows Bevan I do that. We
are moving on forward and we just go keep final
ways to get better because that is what this league
it's all about.

Speaker 3 (02:18:48):
No question about it.

Speaker 4 (02:18:49):
Romeo Dubbs joining us on Fox Sports Radio here Red
Zone Radio. Last one from US, Romeo, I covered a
bunch of your games as a color analyst around the
Mountain West. When you're at Nevada, you make the jump
and you're paired with another Mountain West player quarterback. How
quickly were you able to I don't know, I get
I guess get some chemistry together with love after transitioning

(02:19:12):
from Aaron Rodgers. What was that like?

Speaker 11 (02:19:17):
I mean, I've set this in interviews before when I
first got drafted here. Throughout my course, associates myself and
Christian the quarterback that we were working with for those
for those six to eight weeks was Jordan's and I

(02:19:39):
mean obviously we found a way to keep building a card.
You know, we had APA together, yeah camp, yeah, pre season.
So those collectively Bill suck throughout the course of the
years since I've been around as a green Bay Packer,
and you know, I'm glad and I'm blessed I'm able

(02:20:02):
to be around somewhere Miking. So, like I said before,
on witnesses work ethics throughout the entire week when it
comes out on Sundays, and he shows up every single time.

Speaker 2 (02:20:14):
The Green Bay Packers coming out on top twenty four
to twenty two over the Texans today, improving to five
and two on the season.

Speaker 3 (02:20:21):
Romeo Dubbs, thanks so much for joining its. Congrats on
the win.

Speaker 11 (02:20:25):
Yes, sir, thanks, you have a blessed sake.

Speaker 2 (02:20:27):
That's Romeo Adubtz there wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers.
So now the Packers are five and two. Look at
that division right now, So you have the Lions at
five and one, six and one? Are they six and one?

Speaker 3 (02:20:40):
Five and one?

Speaker 4 (02:20:40):
No?

Speaker 3 (02:20:41):
No, no, the Lion Oh yeah, they already have.

Speaker 2 (02:20:44):
Their bye week, so they're five and one They're five
and one, The Vikings are five and one, the Packers
are five and two, and the Bears are four and two.
They have a bye week this week. Their last place
at four and two. It's crazy. The NFC North is
the best division. And by the way, Jordan love the
green everywhere you look in that division. So the Green

(02:21:04):
Bay Packers, you look at the man we just talked
to who's dynamic on the football field, Romeo Dubbs. They
are littered with talent around that offense, and Tucker Craft
is a really capable pass catching tight end. You look
at the Detroit Lions, who were just discussing this with
Chris Ham and Ross Saint Brown, Williamson, Gibbs Montgomery, Jared
Goff playing lights out Sam Laporta. That offense is stacked up.

Speaker 4 (02:21:26):
We haven't even talked about the defenses, which have both
appeared to be elite at times, Detroit and Green Bay respectively.
And then you look at the Bears, it really felt
like they were just waiting for a quarterback to complete
the situation. They found a really good one who's getting
better every week in Caleb Williams. And then I mean
the Vikings with Sam Darnold. It's like whoever you put

(02:21:50):
in at quarterback, Kevin O'Connell's gonna make you right. And
Sam Darnold has been one of the best quarterbacks this season.
Albeit he's coming off of two kind of clunky weeks
one last week. They still were able to win this
week in the loss.

Speaker 2 (02:22:05):
By the way, with the Falcons losing today, that means
at least in the moment, all three wildcards are coming
out of the NFC North. Yeah, all three of the wildcards.
All right, let's find out what is trending right now.
We got seven games in the books, three games underway
right now. Another busy Sunday, Moncie, very.

Speaker 8 (02:22:25):
Busy, very busy. On top of Tho's birthday.

Speaker 3 (02:22:27):
Oh, I know it was very emotional.

Speaker 8 (02:22:29):
Yes, yeah, it's a bunch of food today.

Speaker 3 (02:22:33):
It's been a good day.

Speaker 8 (02:22:33):
It's been a good day.

Speaker 3 (02:22:34):
A lot of baked goods.

Speaker 8 (02:22:36):
Well, that's the way you know, it should be on
someone's birthday.

Speaker 11 (02:22:39):
I like it.

Speaker 9 (02:22:40):
Speaking of birthdays, it was also Kenneth Walker's twenty fourth birthday,
and he had a good game for the Seahawks fourteen carries,
sixty nine yards, one touchdown. He also had two catches
for twenty four yards and a touchdown.

Speaker 8 (02:22:51):
So he did a little bit of everything.

Speaker 9 (02:22:53):
Seahawks defeated the Falcons thirty four to fourteen.

Speaker 8 (02:22:56):
The Packers walked it off with a forty five yard
field goal to beat the Texans to twenty four to
twenty two.

Speaker 9 (02:23:01):
Jordan Love twenty four to thirty three, two hundred and
twenty yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Also, Josh Jacobs
caught his first career touchdown pass.

Speaker 3 (02:23:11):
Oh wow, yeah, interesting stats.

Speaker 8 (02:23:13):
It is an interesting stat.

Speaker 3 (02:23:15):
He's been playing for a while. That was his first
ever touchdown reception.

Speaker 2 (02:23:19):
I mean he carries a heavy low but fank he
doesn't catch a lot of passes, the least.

Speaker 3 (02:23:23):
He did with the Raiders.

Speaker 8 (02:23:24):
He had a couple though. Finally got one that was
a doption.

Speaker 3 (02:23:27):
Now was it a real one or was it like
a shovel pass?

Speaker 8 (02:23:31):
I would yes, it was like down the field. It
was kind of like a little and then he ran
and got in, but he got it.

Speaker 3 (02:23:37):
He's a big days. This on Bow's birthday, This on
Bo's birthday.

Speaker 9 (02:23:42):
The Colts beat the Dolphins sixteen to ten. That's all
I have to say about that one. The Eagles crushed
the Giants twenty eight to three. Saquon Barkley seventeen carries,
one hundred and seventy six yards and one touchdown.

Speaker 8 (02:23:53):
The Lions and the Vikings, this was intense.

Speaker 9 (02:23:55):
My sister in law got mad at me yesterday when
Steve and I were doing the show and I picked
the line she's a Vikings fan.

Speaker 8 (02:24:01):
She texted me right away.

Speaker 9 (02:24:02):
She got mad hearing the show yesterday and she texted
me right now blaming me.

Speaker 8 (02:24:07):
Told her it was an intense game, but the Lions
hold on.

Speaker 9 (02:24:09):
They didn't win it thirty one to twenty nine. I
didn't know it was gonna be a coin flip. I
just went with the Lions, and I got it right
this time.

Speaker 1 (02:24:16):
He did not.

Speaker 9 (02:24:18):
Jared Goff twenty two of twenty five or two hundred
and eighty yards and two touchdowns in that one. The
Bills came alive in the second half and defeated the
Titans thirty four to ten. Josh Allen three hundred and
twenty three yards, two touchdowns, one of them went to
Amari Cooper, his first touchdown as a Bill, and the
Bengals with a twenty one to fourteen win over the
Browns now Deshaun Watson left the game with a achilles injury.

Speaker 3 (02:24:39):
That's all we know.

Speaker 8 (02:24:40):
Even the Browns' Twitter account said that. Then we had
what's his name, Dorian Thompson Junior?

Speaker 4 (02:24:47):
What's his name?

Speaker 3 (02:24:48):
Dorian Robinson?

Speaker 8 (02:24:51):
Dtr think he went into play and then he had
a finger injury.

Speaker 9 (02:24:56):
So Jamis Winston, who was the emergency third quarterback went
into the game.

Speaker 8 (02:25:00):
We must have missed it.

Speaker 3 (02:25:01):
We did well.

Speaker 2 (02:25:02):
We are the Browns a mess right now.

Speaker 4 (02:25:04):
One gotta left that game for dead as soon as
the Bengals took a two score lead late.

Speaker 8 (02:25:09):
Yes, but Jamis Winston ended up going into the game.

Speaker 9 (02:25:12):
Twenty one to fourteen was the final score over the
Browns and that one and everything started in London with
the Jaguars beating the Patriots thirty six to thirty two
to sixteen.

Speaker 8 (02:25:20):
Excuse me, tanked bigsby twenty six carries, one hundred and
eighteen yards and two touchdowns.

Speaker 9 (02:25:24):
Right now, Raiders Rams scoreless late in the first, Chiefs
forty nine ers scoreless early in the first and the
Commanders with the pick six are beating the Panthers.

Speaker 8 (02:25:32):
Already ten zero three minutes to go in the first quarter.
And don't forget Game five, Game six.

Speaker 9 (02:25:39):
Of the NLCS between the Dodgers and the Mets at
eight eastern and Game five of the WNBA Finals between
the Links and the Liberty, also eight eastern.

Speaker 2 (02:25:46):
Oh, just those games, just those, just game, just deciding
game for the WNBA champion day.

Speaker 8 (02:25:51):
Yes, it's the best, Pat, Hal's.

Speaker 3 (02:25:52):
A deciding game to set up a match against the Yankees.

Speaker 2 (02:25:55):
Dodgers Yankees, by the way of not played against each
other in a World series in forty three years.

Speaker 1 (02:26:00):
That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:26:01):
Nineteen eighty one, last time we had a Dodgers Yankees
World series.

Speaker 3 (02:26:06):
All right, thank you very much, Montsie, tremendous job. As always, Hey,
don't forget.

Speaker 2 (02:26:10):
Right after the show, podcast is going up, So if
you miss any of today's show, check out the podcast.
Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts.
Then follow rate and review the podcast.

Speaker 3 (02:26:19):
Again.

Speaker 2 (02:26:20):
Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts.
You'll see the show posted right after we get off
the air. This has been a rough start for the
Carolina Panthers. Andy Dalton, I believe just got picked off again,
Andy Dalton, he did, he's been Did they take the

(02:26:40):
interception off I don't know what there was a there
were flags all over the field. It was a weird
play where he threw the ball and immediately reacted like
where's my receiver. He threw it right at one of
the Commanders, and it does go down as an interception.
So the Commanders, already up ten to nothing, have the
ball once again after two picks by Andy Dalt.

Speaker 4 (02:27:00):
Yeah, it looks like he was looking for Deontay Johnson
deep down the middle of the field, four steps in
front of it. So it's Commanders football with a ten
tozering lead in Washington, only two minutes twenty seven left
on the clock in the first quarter. Panthers with a
one in five record, with a disastrous start to the
season with Young move on to Dalton, and after the

(02:27:22):
first game that Dalton was in there at quarterback, it's
really been all downhill since then. Yeah, it's just it
hasn't really reinvigorated this roster the way that it seemed
like in concept or theory it could have.

Speaker 3 (02:27:34):
All right, I want to ask, is the forty nine
or Chiefs game is underway? No score early in this one.

Speaker 2 (02:27:39):
Tom Brady on the call, he just officially got sanctioned
as the new owner of the Raiders, and so all
the restrictions on him. Do you realize that he could
potentially be fined for being critical of officiating during a
game on a broadcast.

Speaker 3 (02:27:58):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (02:27:58):
If he actually said, well, that was a bad call,
he could be fined, and as an owner of a team,
it could go beyond fines if he.

Speaker 3 (02:28:07):
Steps out of line.

Speaker 2 (02:28:08):
Conceivably, the league could step in take draft picks away
from the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (02:28:12):
I mean, there's a lot.

Speaker 5 (02:28:13):
Online here real quick, here, guys, Jayden Daniels is headed
back to the locker room for the Commanders. Marcus Farriota
is in there at quarterback and.

Speaker 4 (02:28:20):
They're trying to run the same playbook because actually the
same split zone we saw Jaden Daniels rack off a
sixty yard run with earlier and the game Mariota.

Speaker 3 (02:28:28):
Just ran it on a first down try. Did he
get hurt on that run? Who? Mariota?

Speaker 4 (02:28:33):
No?

Speaker 3 (02:28:33):
I talk about Daniels. Why is he out?

Speaker 5 (02:28:35):
No, he did go into the injury tens. He came
out and then he tried to warm up on the
sideline through his helmet and he went back to the
locker room.

Speaker 2 (02:28:41):
So Okay, that got hurt somewhere. Yes, all right, I'm
asking about Tom Brady right now. Okay, Yeah, So the
restrictions go as followed. Not permitted to being another team's facility.

Speaker 4 (02:28:51):
Not permitted to witness practices, not permitted to ten broadcast
production meetings, either in person or virtually prohibited to publicly
criticize game official or other clubs. Subjected to the NFL's
gambling policy, as well as NFL's anti tampering policy.

Speaker 2 (02:29:07):
So with those European analysts thirty seven million dollars a
year and he can't do any of that.

Speaker 4 (02:29:12):
With those rules, it's going to make doing his current
job really hard. Now, the assumption is, oh, my goodness,
Rock Party just threw a pick. The Kansas City Chiefs
have the football on their side of the field out
to the forty two yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:29:28):
It'll be Casey ball.

Speaker 4 (02:29:29):
And I said this as we were kind of ramping
up for this afternoon slate to kick off here on
the West Coast. I said, Steve, for whatever reason, Brock
Party struggles against Steve Spagnolo's Chiefs defense. We saw it
in the Super Bowl last year, We've seen it in
the past, and he throws a lazy floater. He was
looking for Kittle on a crossing route and it lands
directly into the arms of awaiting defensive back for the

(02:29:53):
Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (02:29:54):
There are a lot of Chiefs jerseys there. Multiple players
could come away with the interception. All right, Do you
think the league is going to be lax in any
way with Tom Brady and No understanding the situation because
they do have a huge contract with Fox, which enabled Fox,
by the way, to pay.

Speaker 3 (02:30:11):
Him that kind of money.

Speaker 2 (02:30:13):
Or are they going to say, hey, we warned you,
that just cost your team a draft pick.

Speaker 4 (02:30:19):
No, I don't think that they're going to be lenient,
but I don't think it's gonna go quite as far
as what you're talking about. I think that Fox or
Tom Brady will suffer fines. I think if there's repeat offenses,
what you just mentioned could be eventually brought into the
realm of discussion, because the NFL could do whatever they want.
This is a league ran by owners. If you get

(02:30:44):
enough owners on the same page where they say, hey,
this Brady guy keeps breaking these restrictions he agreed to,
we need to start hitting them where it hurts in
the pocketbook. And take away some draft picks from the
Vegas Raiders. Well then yeah, then it becomes a problem.

Speaker 2 (02:30:58):
But well, they're not going to hurt him in the pocket.
But when you're paying just thirty seven million just on
his salary, I think he's going the only way to
really level him would be to actually take things away
from his team.

Speaker 3 (02:31:10):
I think he's going to stay away.

Speaker 4 (02:31:12):
He's going to do this by the letter of the law,
and it's either going to work and he's going to
be a great broadcaster, like I think he's going to
develop into, or it's not, and he'll fade somewhere into
the background and he'll continue his little, you know or
very large social media empire that he's created on the
back half of his NFL playing career, and he'll continue

(02:31:32):
being gainfully endorsed in all those things while he's an
owner in the NFL. I don't really see there being
a lot of complicated endings to this story. Tom Brady's
gonna win like he always does.

Speaker 2 (02:31:44):
Well, he'll win in the public opinion polls because ultimately
no one is going to be critical of his NFL career,
where he is universally recognized as the goat.

Speaker 3 (02:31:57):
But this is a different venture.

Speaker 4 (02:31:58):
It is.

Speaker 2 (02:31:59):
And when you're used to success, when you're used to
the adulation, which by the way, he earned right and
he wants to earn this. But does he have the goods? Obviously,
he's a rookie. He's a rookie in his job, and
you know, like every rookie, he'll struggle. We wheel this
so when you watched, But when you have both hands
tied behind your back, when you're trying to do the
job as best you can, and you've been a longtime analyst,

(02:32:22):
imagine all those things eliminated from your arsenal as a commentator, it.

Speaker 3 (02:32:27):
Would be very difficult to do the job.

Speaker 4 (02:32:28):
However, like you said, Fox has made an incredible, incredible
commitment to Tom Brady in terms of the amount of
money they're paying him over this season and the next
nine that follow Tom Brady is going to be given
every resource to have the most success he possibly can
have because of the potential having the greatest quarterback of

(02:32:49):
all time, the greatest football player of all time lead
to your broadcast team on your number one booth call
for the next ten years or nine years after. This
is in a credible opportunity as a network has ever
had in the history of this league. So I don't
think they're going to squander it by making this any
more difficult on him than it's already become, since he's

(02:33:10):
become a minority owner of the Raiders. The San Francisco
defense trying to get tough Patrick Mahomes on a second
down run gets the Chiefs a first down well inside
San Francisco territory. Then he gets sacked for a five
yard loss. So the Chiefs at the San Francisco twenty
four yard line have a second and fifteen opportunity.

Speaker 3 (02:33:30):
The ball, it's intercepted.

Speaker 2 (02:33:31):
It's intercepted by the forty nine ers, all right, so
totally smoke. That is the seventh interception thrown by Mahomes
this year that ties for the league lead.

Speaker 4 (02:33:41):
Okay, well check it out. This has been what it's
looked like for Patrick Mahomes the entire season. He has
looked uncomfortable in the pocket. Teams have been playing much
more coverage against him. His creativity is stifled when you're
not pressuring him, and that's both with a front four
when they get to him and he has to evade
the rush and get out outside the.

Speaker 3 (02:34:00):
Pots A heck of a play, but a big question.

Speaker 4 (02:34:03):
And also it's stifled when when when you box him
in and you force him to throw in the well
of the pocket, he doesn't like doing it and so
as a result he gets bored. He gets sometimes it
seems a little lazy with his arm angle on some
of those throws you need to throw over the rush there.
He didn't, and the San Francisco forty nine ers just
saved themselves from at very least three points, if not seven.

Speaker 3 (02:34:25):
Three games underway right now, stay here, this is Red
Zone Radio.

Speaker 7 (02:34:29):
Let his rout here in Northwest Stadium, third and nine
at the twenty.

Speaker 3 (02:34:32):
Five yard line. Sanders could let the fault free rush
are coming off the edge to put it to me.
Piy guys streaking down the side, hide thirty.

Speaker 5 (02:34:43):
Twenty ten five cuck down, touchdown, walking gone.

Speaker 2 (02:34:50):
That's big, one hundred Commanders Radio network Commanders with the
early ten nothing lead against the Carolina Panthers. Once again,
this is Red Zone Radio. Steve Artman and Rich Armberger
with you. We are alive from the Tirak dot Com studios.
Want to thank the crew today. Mancy Belano says, usual
doing a you know, ridiculously great job always and of

(02:35:12):
course Feeni Rich and all of us is always a
big part of that.

Speaker 4 (02:35:16):
The burritos are the way I like to even when
she's not currently in studio, this is always right there.

Speaker 2 (02:35:22):
Yeah, yeah, Chris, who survived a tough morning today but
came out on top of the lions, escaping with that
win against the Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (02:35:32):
Belo morning too. I've been here since like three in
the morning.

Speaker 2 (02:35:35):
Yes, you were talking about heart palpitations, but you're okay now.

Speaker 3 (02:35:38):
Right, Yeah, I'm done with caffeine for a while. And
then the birthday boy bo Bins, feels so special. Yes,
bo Bo.

Speaker 2 (02:35:48):
First of all, you deserve it and all the accolades
and all the well wishes. You are universally loved in
this building.

Speaker 7 (02:35:56):
You know that.

Speaker 5 (02:35:56):
Can we get sixty two rushing yards from Jordan Mason today?

Speaker 3 (02:35:59):
That's that make it a perfect day for you? That question?

Speaker 5 (02:36:02):
That would make me about one hundred and thirty dollars richer.
So you can that.

Speaker 2 (02:36:06):
So we had Moncey and we had brie. They brought
the cake in and see that's that I was looking
and getting a little Missy.

Speaker 4 (02:36:15):
If it was left up to us, we wouldn't know
it was Bo's birthday until his next birthday. Guys, we're like, oh,
we don't we missed. We missed two of those idea
that we don't do that. But but Monxy and Bri
has this cover. That was that that was that was
very touching and I was an hundred to be a
part of it. I was like, my goodness, I did

(02:36:36):
have a feeling of like I was like, I haven't
I haven't seen cake in ten years. Yeah, I've forgotten
what it feels like. So you had the maple it
oh yeah, yeah, and you had the cake. Oh it
was I mean, I don't mean I haven't had cake.

Speaker 2 (02:36:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (02:36:50):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (02:36:50):
I think he's saying we need the insulin ready. Here
there's been a lot of sugar. Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:36:55):
What I'm saying is I may go into shock at
some point because I've eaten most of all of the
bake goods that have been served around the studio.

Speaker 6 (02:37:02):
There's also there's also a twelve pack of Mountain Do
Baja Blast back here for Bo.

Speaker 3 (02:37:07):
For some reason.

Speaker 2 (02:37:09):
All that well, anyway, Bo, enjoy the rest of your
birthday today and hopefully you'll get the fantasy points you
need to make it a perfect day. Don't forget Dan
Bayer carry Rhoads. Yes, continue on with Red Zone Radio.
We're just the opening act.

Speaker 3 (02:37:23):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (02:37:23):
This is a long way to go on this day.
The Commanders just scored again.

Speaker 4 (02:37:28):
Yeah, Brian Robinson pounds it in after they drove the field.

Speaker 3 (02:37:34):
It's not it's not gonna be a good day for
the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 4 (02:37:38):
No, nobody's bringing cake and singing candles to the Carolina paths.

Speaker 3 (02:37:43):
It's gonna be a rough one out.

Speaker 2 (02:37:44):
Well, you got an owner now that has done everything wrong.

Speaker 3 (02:37:48):
Yeah, yeah, it does seem that way.

Speaker 2 (02:37:50):
I mean, it has been one catastrophe after another.

Speaker 4 (02:37:53):
Okay, so I don't again, you know me. My normal
theory is like, hey, we gotta let it bake. You
gotta give things time, especially in the NFL. There's so many,
so many variables.

Speaker 3 (02:38:04):
So far, when does baking become a three alarm fire? Okay?
So far?

Speaker 4 (02:38:09):
I mean you may have to throw away the oven
in Carolina. I mean, is that the cakes going so badly?
It's not like, hey, whoops, we put too much salt
in the cake. It's like we now are unsure we
can open the oven. So let's just throw it away.
Do you remember this?

Speaker 2 (02:38:26):
In nineteen ninety six, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Carolina
Panthers were each in their second year of existence, and
they both were in the conference championship games.

Speaker 3 (02:38:36):
In their second year of existence.

Speaker 2 (02:38:39):
They both lost, but the Panthers and the Jaguars in
their second year of existence, made it all the way
to the conference championship game.

Speaker 4 (02:38:47):
But like you know, expansion drafts and things like that,
I mean a draft, Well, the Vegas Golden Knights, they
were able to pull that off in the NHL. I mean,
there are teams that have had had success when they've
entered leagues, as is expansion.

Speaker 2 (02:39:00):
My point is the Panthers have had success over the years.
They've been in a couple of Super Bowls, They've they've
had this success, and then you get new ownership and
it just I look, we know the disaster.

Speaker 4 (02:39:12):
You know this league, you could have a situation. I
mean in three years, just fast forward. Can you see
the Carolina Panthers in the Super Bowl? Okay, no, no, no,
I don't see that. I mean Andy Dalton, did you
see the Commander? I mean, at the end of last season,
the Commanders being one of the best teams in the
NFC this year.

Speaker 3 (02:39:33):
No I did not.

Speaker 2 (02:39:35):
Okay, so you could get lucky in the draft, is
what you're saying. Go Cats, go all right.

Speaker 3 (02:39:40):
Keep it here. More Red Zone Radio coming up.
