Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
A Super Bowl rematch plus the Battle of New La
in Old La against Old La, but still kind of
New La.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
We'll explain the whole deal.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
And you got a Carolina Commander's game that's already getting
out of hand. That's what we face in this late
window of week seven as we are broadcasting live from
the Tireck dot com studios. Tyreq dot com will help
you get there at unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free
road as a protection. You know over ten thousand recommended
installers tirec dot com the way tire buying should be.
We have a three to nothing game in this Super
Bowl rematch. Maybe we shouldn't be surprised considering what we

(00:37):
saw in Super Bowl fifty eight with these teams playing
good defensive football, tight game throughout, but a three to
nothing game in a week carry where we had big
game after big game after big game. Right now, though,
Niners out to a three nothing lead on the Kansas
City Chiefs, who look to get on look to remain unbeaten,

(00:58):
while the forty nine ers look to continue the turn
of their season so far.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Yeah, this is a big game for the forty nine
Ers right now, they're three and three. They're not playing
up to their potential or expectations from the offset, and
so you got a Chiefs team right now that isn't
that dynamic with their skill set and their skill weapons
on the outside. So this is the game that the
forty nine ers need to take advantage of it and
get a win.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
The games that happened earlier today were great. Yeah, the
matchups that we had magnificent in my rankings of week seven.
And this is the full schedule, starting with Bronco Saints
on Thursday night and then knowing who's going to play
in that game, it was probably the worst game that
I could pick on an NFL schedule considering who was

(01:44):
playing and who wasn't playing. But we had Broncos Saints
on Thursday, and it will end tomorrow night with the
late game in the doubleheader Chargers against the Cardinals. I
have Chiefs forty nine ers right now, second most important
game of week seven. This was before the outcomes of
the earlier games where they were in my rankings. But

(02:05):
this is an AFC versus NFC matchup that really doesn't
have an effect on the standings except win loss. There's
no tie breaker. It's not a conference win, it's not
a division win. You've got two teams coming off of
significant layoffs. The Chiefs were on a bye, forty nine
Ers ended up playing on Thursday of the week before,
so they had a good ten days or so to rest.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Up for this game.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
But to me, it is so important, specifically for San Francisco.
I don't think it would be the worst thing in
the world for the Chiefs to lose a game at
this point.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
It's not going to continue.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
That could just be unwanted pressure or added pressure that
doesn't need to be there if it does. But I
am right there with you with San Francisco because this
is carrying over from what they did in Seattle, where
they actually looked like the forty nine ers, And I
don't know if they've looked like the forty nine ers
throughout this season. Maybe Week one against the Jets you
could say so, sorry, Kerry, But other than that, they

(03:01):
haven't been the forty nine er team that we thought of.
And I thought that game against Seattle in Week six
was a real turnaround. To keep that momentum and to
win this game here would be a huge, huge boost
for San Francisco, who is still trying to get Christian
McCaffrey back, trying to get their wide receivers healthy, trying
to turn that corner to turn the switch on for
the season, which I just don't think they have done

(03:22):
so far.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yeah, it's crazy. You mentioned the Jet game. I was
going to mention that forty nineer game against the Seahawks,
but I was gonna.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Let it right.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Thanks, Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, we're now, we're even.
Now we're even. But is it worse? Just serve, serve,
you know, search a hand.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
So I've been a Seahawks fan for about forty years
of my life, forty plus years. Forty He played four
years with the Jets. How many years would I have
to be a fan of a team to even to
even come close to one year of service with an
NFL squad? Because he's got me trumped no matter what. Heck,
he brought his Jets jersey today, Like are we saved?

(03:58):
Like a here it is maybe.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
One hundred years.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Those numbers, those are rookie numbers.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Those are rookie numbers.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I would be so annoyed if I was a player
and like you and put on a Jets Jersey, and
I'm like, well, I've been a fan of this team forever,
and you're like, yeah, I broke my arm for that team.
I tore a ligament in my elbow for that team,
and you sat on the couch and cheered for forty
years eating chips.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Usually I would agree with that take, But now that
I'm on the other side of it with you, Dan,
now I'm a fan, I'm an observer. I know how
intense and how and how cool it is to root
four team for forty years. So I'll say it's every
ten years. So we're probably pretty equal right now. I'll
give you, I'll give you a little quest. That's that's very,
very very kind. Chris Purfets, a technical producer hanging out.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
I would say probably the zen moment is probably when
you are a fan. You can say you're a fan
like almost as long as that while also being a player.
Because I know Lomas Brown from the Detroit Lions, who's
their color guy, and he is a fan through and through,
and that man's life is all joy.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yeah, Lumas is a great guy. Lumas is a great guy.
But but back, I love it when old players wear it.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
I like it like when you actually, I do like
it when you wear it with the Jets, Yeah, I do.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Michael Irvan on the sidelines, Oh my god, he's insane. Yeah,
the whole deal.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Like, I'm sorry, Like it's it's fun, pro or college
however it is. It's it's good. Everything you're bringing up
is against me. Though right now, that was it.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
They were playing my Louisville Cardinals last night and he's
all over the place.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
What are you doing? Oh my god?

Speaker 4 (05:36):
But uh, but back to back to the forty nine
ers though, I think, but this this game is like
for the forty nine ers, you talk about get back,
get back right games. This is one of those games
where this isn't that in particular, but in a situation
where Kansas City, I think is a little undermanned on
the outside with the skilled players, this is a chance
for them to get back right, get a confidence win,

(05:57):
and bounce back and also like start to pick up
some momentum for the rest of the season.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
You heard Martin talk about the injuries that we've got
to the quarterbacks in the other game with Marcus Mariota
in for Jayden Daniels and Gardner Minshew gonna finish the
rest of the game for Aid and o'conne, who suffered
an apparent thumb injury. In those two games, we're kind
of paling in comparison to what we have in this
forty nine Ers Chiefs game. We'll try to keep you
up to date as much as we can of these

(06:23):
three games, as we always do here. But the Commanders
have extended their lead to twenty to nothing against Carolina,
so that game already maybe over. We maybe in a
two and a half game window very very soon here
carry Rhodes, considering what Washington is doing to Carolina.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
But the forty nine.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Ers in Chiefs game is also unique in the sense
of over the last couple of years, with the addition
of the seventeenth game, I feel it has added I
feel it's added twenty five percent more to the season,
even though you've added just one game. I feel that
the season is now infinitely longer than what it was before.

(06:58):
And now the you're never going to have a seventeen
n OL team. It's never gonna happen. So the seventy
two Dolphins can rest assured that things are going to
be fine with the way that the NFL is set
up with the schedule now, and I don't think that
teams necessarily want to come out firing on all cylinders.
I'm not saying that they're not trying to, but you've
got time to correct. So my question now is, as

(07:22):
we saw with the Buccaneers four years ago with Tom Brady,
they go on that run and they win the Super
Bowl and topping the Kansas City Chiefs. They play good
football the latter part of the year. Yes, last year
we waited for the Philadelphia Eagles for things to click
and it just never did. If you're the San Francisco
forty nine ers, where's your baseline? Is it like week ten?

(07:43):
Is it after the bye? Is it when CMC comes back,
which could be around that same time. Is it week
thirteen when if you're Kyle Shanahan, do you just kind
of say, oh, I'm kind of worried or we've got
to turn this on. At what point in this now
longer eighteen week regular season do we need to see
the forty nine ers of old if we believe they're
going to be able to make it back to the

(08:04):
Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
It's all about building, building from your baseline, and building
chemistry and building motion from who you are as a team.
They haven't played complimentary football well in the past couple
of years. When they've been obviously in the Super Bowl
a couple of years and been really really good, they've
had complimentary football. So even doesn't matter how many big
plays they make and the plays that wow us as

(08:28):
fans watching on Sundays or Mondays or whatever, whenever they play,
they've been good on all phases. Right now, they haven't
been good on all phases. So they got to get
back to playing complimentary football well, not trying to showcase
how good Rock Purty is, not trying to showcase how
good Christian McCaffrey is when he's there. Like it's about
when everything's clicking for them, everybody touches the ball, everybody

(08:51):
gets their amount of, you know, big plays. The touches
are evenly distributed outside of McCaffrey, who's running the ball
more than more than most. But that's what they're lacking
right now, and I think once they get everybody back
in all their pieces, they can start to do that.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Chiefs are knocking on the door second and goal at
the one yard line again, down three to nothing to
San Francisco, and now there's a whistle on the first
and goal from the four yard line. The Kansas City
Chiefs brought in Carson Wentz to share the backfield with
Patrick Mahomes. Both I believe we're in a three point stance.
And then Wentz got the snap and handed it off
to Kareem Hunt. So now we know what Andy Reid's

(09:27):
been doing in this bye week, and that is it.
That is part of it. Right there, we know the
razzle dazzle, as my mom loves to say, of what
we see in the NFL. There's Andy Reid providing his
razzle dazzle. And this is another test for the forty
nine ers. And it's a theme that I've talked about
throughout the week here on the network, on the podcast
to Do with Mike Harmon talking Fantasy football. This is

(09:49):
Andy Reid off of a bye yeah, and Andy Reid
off of a bye eight and three with the Chiefs
had just one lost during his tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles.
So if you can do this with san and get
this win, as it looks like the Chiefs have gotten
into the end zone, Kareem Hunt a one yard touchdown run.
So now Kansas City takes the lead, but it's another
just another reason on why if you're San Francisco you

(10:11):
could really start to believe in yourself.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
And yes, and another reason for Senahan in particular, he's
never beaten Andy Reid, So even that other caveat right,
I have been some type of motivation within for him,
for himself not just to win this game, but to
finally get over the over the hurdle of beaten Andy Reid.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
It would be a big deal as well.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
There's a possibility that could meet again in a Super Bowl,
could be a Super Bowl fifty nine, and that would
be a question that Kyle Shanahan wouldn't have to answer
fifteen times during that week if they end up making it.
We have a turnover in the Rams Raiders game. Gardner
Minshew was picked off r on midfield, so the Rams
now have the football inner Raiders territory three nothing that game.
Four minutes to go until halftime, three nothing in favor

(10:54):
of the Raiders. Washington continues to lead Carolina twenty to
nothing in that contest, and the extra point is good
for Kansas City seven three chiefs on top of Washington
eleven twenty four left to go until halftime find them
on X at Carrie twenty five Roads. It was a
huge week for Carry Rhoads. We'll get to that in

(11:14):
just a little bit. It was also a huge, huge
Sunday for one NFL team and why that game was
the most important of all this weekend.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
We'll dive into it next. He's Carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer.
This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

listen live. Once again, here's Dan Byer and Carrie Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
This is not me telling Carry Rhoads to wake up
for the show. This is not me saying that. This
is Carrie Rhodes.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Folks. This is the single that dropped to this week.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
By the way, I tried to keep it a secret
and then lie in thirty seconds. We're not gonna player.
We're gonna play that song that you wanted to come back.
It's okay, verset, just busting job.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah, it could it could have been any good point,
good point, good look at you guys. Yeah, how does
that feel listening to it?

Speaker 7 (12:17):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Over NFL Highlights, It's probably not the song for NFL Highlights,
but I will say, look you look at the drop
by brandan Iyuk. How does that work? Is that the
remix the Brandon I will we'll try to work that in.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
We'll try to work that in really really low, really low,
really low ONNATH but will make it work.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Thank you. I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yes, so you could get Spotify, Apple Music, the whole shebang,
get Carrie's new single that was released earlier this week
called Look Music video as well. Yeah, here's my question,
how did you get power out to that TV by
the ocean.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
You'll have to check it out to know what I'm
talking about.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
Yes, Martin wondered that to everybody wondered that, Hey, it's
called magic.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Yeah, called magic.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
I can't give my secrets away, but I'll tell you
some things that you do, Like there's certain ways to
when you like the scene like the TV, you can
add things after.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
But it's it's it's a magic trick. It's a magic
It's not one hundred yards of extension, no no, no,
plugged in one after the other, melting that rhymes hoto hop.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
The Kansas City Chiefs are driving again. They forced the
forty nine ers to punt on a Brandon Aiyuk drop
and then Nicole Hardman took the punt back to about
the thirty yard line of San Francisco, and so now
Kansas City up seven to three, with seven fifty five
and counting in the first half, facing a third and

(13:42):
three forty nine ers ten yard line. There was a
big play in LA. We'll get to as well between
the Raiders and the Rams, but we want to let
you know what's happening on this third down call. And
there's something also crazy happening with the Commanders and Panthers.
But Chiefs facing a third and three now, and Patrick
Mahomes is going to call a time out. We have
got a Gardner Minshew sack and fumble and I think

(14:04):
Cam Crop picked it up ran it back for a touchdown,
this on the heels of a Kiren Williams touchdown run
for LA. So the Rams have extended their lead now
to thirteen to three, extra point pending against the Raiders. Yeah,
it was just a little bit ago that the Raiders
were holding on to that three to nothing lead, and
the extra point is good. So it's fourteen to three
Rams over the Raiders. And the Raiders going to be

(14:28):
playing the rest of the ways. You heard Martin say
with Gardner Minshew, but again expecting a lot of Raider
fans in Sofix Stadium. One of the popular lines is
the Raiders are still the most popular team in LA
with the Rams and Chargers here, so you've got that.
But that's what we have with the Rams and Raiders
right now. It's a Rams eleven point lead. As for
the Commanders and Panthers, I can tell you this. Marcus

(14:52):
Mariota is in for Jaden Daniels and for a while
didn't have any passing yards. So there was a stat
that popped up there was the fewest passing yards by
a team winning by twenty or more since nineteen seventy,
whatever the case is. But Mark Smarriota has completed a
couple of passes and the Commanders are in control. The
Chiefs on that third and three have run a screen
to Kareem Hunt, who wanted a face mask. I don't

(15:13):
think he got it, but he got the first down
and so now it'll be first and goal inside the
five yard lines.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
He got down to about the four yard line.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Yeah, that third and three was big, I mean if they,
you know, with the big punt return to get down
there in such great field position. If San franc could
have got to stop Dre and held them to three,
that would have been a win for the defense. But
right now, first and goal for the Chiefs, and it
looks like they're going to try to tackle on six more.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Here and Xavier Worthy is being looked at on the
sidelines for Kansas City. So another weapon gone and this
isn't In addition to Rashid Rice, Juju Smith Schuster was
dinged up, tried to go out and play, he had
to leave this game. And now you're likely going to
see a lot of Kareem Hunt and you're going to
see Kareem Hunt getting to the end zone for Kansas City.
Touchdown run is second of the day. So the Chiefs

(15:58):
now extending their lead third team to three. This is
why this game was my second most important game of
the week. Has nothing to do with avenging a Super
Bowl loss. You're not gonna be able to do that.
That Super Bowl loss is just there forever. You're gonna
have to deal with it. Even if the Niners will
come back and win it over the Chiefs, it doesn't
make up for the one that you've lost the year prior.
But it's just the point of how much does this

(16:20):
get into your head? How much does this become a factor?
Hunt may have lost control at the goal line. I
think they've called it a good score, but again, how
much does this get in your head? If you're San
Francisco who seems to have issues this season, Brandon au
Kevin issues as well.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Yeah, I mean it's like we said in the open,
it's you have the tank for them to get back
right and to get some confidence and start to build
from that. If you can't be the Chiefs team right now,
that's like I said, minus a lot of their key
players on the outside at the skill position position, and
you can't get a win in this situation, it definitely
sets you back. I mean, you're you would lose this

(16:56):
game and go to three and four in a division
that I think they they feel like they should have
under wraps. I mean Seattle won today, so I think
they're four and three. But this you don't want. You
don't want to lose these games, the games that you
need to win and you should win.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
He is carry Roads. I'm dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
We're gonna get an update from Martin Wis in about
sixty seconds here, and then on the other side of that,
I'll tell you the most important game that I think
that we had in Week seven of the National Football
League season. But the Commanders do get into the end
zone Marcus Mariota throwing a touchdown pass to Zach Ertz.
So that is a twenty six nothing game. Believe the
extra point was good. Now it's twenty seven nothing. When

(17:33):
you're up twenty seven to nothing and halftime, what is
a second half? Like winning side? I was about to
say on the losing side, I didn't want to drive
you better come out and fight. If I see anybody quitting,
you're done. Like it's that title speeds. But when you're
on the winning.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Side of it, it's all right, let's not let's not
get ahead of ourselves. You know, this team's gonna come
out and fight. They're gonna give everything they have, and
it's like, can have, Let's stick to our execution, let's
stick to what God is here. All that being said,
it's hard to do because you're up big and the natural,
the natural inclination is to to exhale a little bit.

(18:10):
And so that will be the speech just don't exhale.
Keep you put on the gas.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
All right, Since you kind of brought it up, what
is what is the opposite side of it? When you're
down twenty seven to nothing, like the Panthers are gonna
be at halftime.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
We're gonna take it possession by possession. If we get
the ball first, We're gonna get the ball first. On offense,
we're gonna go down to score. Defense, we're gonna get
a stop, we're gonna get another score, and we're right
back in the game.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
That's all. That's what every head coach would say. In
the NFL.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
It rarely happens, but when it does, it looks it
makes that coach look really smart.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
I will thank you very much, thank you, thank you
for a coach.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
I mean, the singing career is going well, and the
talk radio and the whole deal is fine. But maybe
coaching is in your blood.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Dan.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
I would never coach, and I'll tell you why. It's
just the hours are insane. I could motivate. I do
have that ability. I do love football, don't love it
that much though, to be there all day and not
live my life as well.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
It's a good question. Did you love football? When you
were younger.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
When I was younger, my first sport was basketball, so
I was a basketball player. I could have played in
college all that stuff. But I got introduced to the
game by just the neighbor of my grandmother's one time,
and he saw me throwing the football.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
It was around like nine, sure, and he was like,
you should play quarterback me.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
I was like, you gotta ask my mom, and my
mom was like nope, and then my dad was like,
go ahead, carry you can do it. He kind of,
you know, yeah, smoothed it over and at nine went
out and play. But it wasn't my first love. No,
I hated football. I loved football when I was young,
and you watch it. You play flag football when you're

(19:44):
in like fourth fifth grade, it's awesome. We didn't have
tackle until we were a little bit older. And then
your first practice and you put the helmet on and back.
Then shoulder pads were enormous. So you're lugging this.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Yeah, yes, you're a big cable suit. K. Yes, that's
exactly what it is, perfect description. Your forehead is just
hurting because the padding. Yes, And I'm like, wait, why
do I want to do this?

Speaker 2 (20:09):
In ninety eight percent humanity in August and then when
it's forty degrees in the afternoon in October. Why am
I doing this? Yes, I've always said you have to
love football. It's why I give so much credit to
guys who play D three, because it's not like you're
getting paid to play football at school. You're doing it
because you love it. And I just wonder how many

(20:31):
people actually really really love football. It is when you
play baseball and you play in a baseball game. You know,
baseball practice is, it's batting practice, it's fielding practice, all
the stuff that you do in a game. Basketball a
little more defense, all that stuff, but still you're playing
with the basketball. There are times at football practice where

(20:54):
we don't even need to touch the football. You know,
you're just working on stuff, working on it. Just it was, oh,
running conditioning the whole Oklahoma drill days, which I frowned upon.
Don't do that flashbacks trauma. All right, let's get an update.
We'll get out of this, we'll get out of this
twilight zone. Over to Martin Whites, who's giving us the
latest of what's happening in week seven?

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Did you love football, Martin? When you were younger?

Speaker 8 (21:17):
I always did, but I never played. I never got
my mom never let me play. You never played ever good.
I had two practices that got a B minus on
an eighth grade geography.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Test, and she said, that was it.

Speaker 9 (21:28):
That was it.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
That was it. We got three games going on right now,
one going into the half.

Speaker 8 (21:32):
Other at the half six seventeen left between the Kansasity
Chiefs and the San Francisco forty nine Ers. Both quarterbacks
through a first quarter interception in this matchup forty nine
Ers moving the ball right now, they have the ball
out their own thirty eight yard line, but again the
Chiefs with a fourteen to three lead.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Here Kareem Hunt with both touchdowns, both of them on
the ground. The Raiders and the Rams.

Speaker 8 (21:54):
Antonio Pierce, head coach of the Raiders, said that Gardner,
i'm and O'Connell would not likely be back in the
rest of this games. So Gardner Minshew leading the way
for Vegas. They trail right now fourteen to nothing. They
added three to nothing lead. Hyron Williams for the Rams
scored a rushing touchdown and then Gardner Minshew was sacked
and fumbled. Defensive back Cam Curl then returned to that

(22:14):
for a defensive touchdown to again put the score at
fourteen to three, and the Panthers at the Commanders twenty
seven and nothing Washington going into the half. Jaden Daniels
had a fifty yard run on one of his forty
six yard run on his first carrier of the day,
ended up getting knocked out of the game with a
rib injuries, questionable to return. Did not look happy, threw
his helmet on the sidelines. It was furious. Marcus Marioda

(22:37):
back in the game. Now are in the game, I
should say, as they backup. Threw a touchdown pass to
Zach Ertz. Earlier today, the Bengals beat the Browns fourteen
I'm sorry, twenty one to fourteen to Sean Watson, feared
to have suffered a torn achilles tendon. Bills came back
alive in the second half defeated the Titans thirteen lee
thirty four to ten. There, I keep reading so many numbers,

(22:57):
so many numbers. Bill's in the first half, pint punt, punt, touchdown, punt, punt,
second half touchdown, field goal, field goal, touchdown.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
So they turned it on in the second half.

Speaker 8 (23:06):
There, Mason Rudolph getting the start in Tennessee Lions take
a Jake Bates forty four yard field goal to go
ahead and take the lead and eventually the win over
Minnesota thirty one to twenty nine. Sakwon Barkley at seventeen
carries for one hundred and seventy six yards and a
touchdown as the Eagles just annihilated the Giants twenty eight
to three, and it could have been a lot more. Dan,
we were sitting there watching that game, like Saekon could

(23:27):
have had four touchdowns. He felt like they should have
that he could have had. Colts beat the Dolphins sixteen
to ten. Anthony richardson a tough day ten for twenty
four fifty six yards rushing one hundred and twenty nine
yards passing. Packers signed was Brandon McManus this week. He
scored the game winning field goal for them forty five
yards out to beat the Texans twenty four to twenty

(23:49):
two in a game that came down to the last second.
Jordan Loved two under twenty yards passing three touchdowns or
two interceptions.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
CJ.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
Stroud only eighty six yards through the air. Seahawks defeat
the Falcons thirty four to fourteen. Gino Smith two on
seven yards passing two touchdowns, but the big guy today,
Kenneth Walker had two rushing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, roun
receiving touchdown on his twenty fourth birthday. We also saw
Michael Pennix and mop up duty in this game. Earlier
today in London, the Jaguars got their second win of

(24:17):
the year. They beat the Patriots thirty two to sixteen.
Tank Bigsby had one hundred and eighteen yards rushing and
two touchdowns. Game six of the NLCS between the Dodgers
and the Mets starts in about two and a half hours.
Same thing with Game five with the WNBA Finals between
the Links and the Liberty College Football ap Top twenty
five Oregon now the number one team after Texas lost

(24:38):
to Georgia. Georgia moves up to number two. Penn State,
Ohio State and Texas round doctry Top five. Vanderbilt making
its first appearance in over eleven years. They are the
number twenty fifth rank team in the nation, and Michigan
dropped out of the top twenty again.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
All right, good sright the second Finally music to my ears,
Dan byer with a smile not shared by the U here.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Here's the toughest part about being an Ohio State fan. Okay,
this is the toughest part.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
I meet a lot of Michigan fans who are just
good people like it it. You know, Martin's one of them,
the Gormans he you know, used to do a show
here on Fox Sports Radio, Steve and Jeffrey all you know,
diehard Michigan fans through and through it, and it's bothersome
to me. And I've also realized this with Oregon fans
as well, a lot of good people who are Oregon fans.

(25:30):
And then you have this rivalry of of of squads
and Oregon getting the best of the Buckeyes a little
over a week ago. It's the toughest part of it
because I really want to dislike you people, but you're
very very nice. You're very very kind and good hearted.
Although Jim Harbaugh is a cheat and then got out.
You know that's is that whole deal just you have
to throw that on top.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
Yeah, do you know that? Yeah, Michigan State fans agree.

Speaker 8 (25:54):
I'll be honest, this Michigan fan might agree with you.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
I have a lot of friends from mission State fans.
You say anything against Michigan and they will agree with you.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Yes, sir.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
He Martin mentioned the Eagles Giants game, and I do
want to touch on this because this is where this
is where I feel a coach misreads the room. Mike
ditka Was has been criticized his entire post coaching career
for not giving the football to Walter Payton in Super

(26:28):
Bowl twenty Yeah, not having the wherewithal of while Walter
Payton didn't score, we won forty six to ten in
that game.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
I understand.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Brotherly shove is this play that is basically unstoppable a
little more stoppable than it was last year when Jason
Kelsey was running it that was unstoppable, but still a
play where your success rate is really really high.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Yeah, when you go.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
To MetLife with Sakuon Barkley, there are there should be
no brotherly shoves. If you're at the one yard line,
you are giving it to Saquon Barkley. You need Saquon
Barkley to leave that stadium in one hundred and seventy
six yards on the ground today. You need him to
leave with three touchdowns. You don't have him leave with one.
That is the stuff that it's it's very very minor,

(27:15):
but it really checks the temperature that you have with
your team. And I think that Syrian in the Eagles.
If I want to nitpick a twenty eight to three
win over the Giants today, that's how I'm doing it.
Completely missed the boat on how you want to load
up Saquon against his former team.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
I agree with you on that.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Yeah, I mean, feed the beast's it's all It reminds
me of was it was that Varsity Blues. You had
the stillard running back would always get break the long
runs and get tackled right around the two yard line
and you give it to the other running back at
the end. Sure like no people are aware of that,
and it's a big deal. So yeah, I mean it's
like one back in back at midlife, back in New

(27:54):
York obviously had had something to prove to its old team.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Let them let him go out and get seven touch
down and you would know it.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
I would know it, They would know it, and if
you couldn't stop it. It has a ramification. It has
a trickle down effect. It makes Giants Eagles another like,
you know, rivalry for however long we saw it on
full display. How John marraw the Giants co owner felt
about Saquon leaving, the possibility of him leaving, especially if

(28:22):
it was to Philadelphia. We saw all of that. That
was a story. They missed their opportunity to heck with
the brotherly show for a week. You could do it
next week. This game was never in question. Daniel Jones
threw for ninety nine yards today, didn't even top one hundred. Yeah,
I don't care if you got stuffed four straight times.
You still do it and then you leave with your

(28:43):
head held. I in Saquon with the last word. Dan
is Nick Sirianni.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
He's out of touch with everything though, So that's it's.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Part of the course.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Like he's I think he's one of those guys that's
so like self consumed that what you're saying about filling
the temperature of the room, I don't think he does.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
I think he feels his temperature.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Yeah, and you're right about that, And maybe there is
a way of like escaping It's it means like there's
a good and the bad. The bad is when you're
feeling yourself. The good is when you're feeling your team
and you understand your team. And that wasn't the case
in those scenarios. Again, I don't care if he lost
two yards fourth and goal from the three. Give it
to him again, give it to him again. We're gonna score,

(29:23):
and he's gonna score, and you're gonna leave with a
win anyway. So it's not like the Giants are gonna
have a moral victory for stopping Saquan on a fourth
and short. But the insult and the punishment that you
could deliver. Talk about the temperature.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
Just in the game last year where the Saints were
already winning big time and I could have took a
knee at the goal line. What did Jameis Winston do
with the running back lash? Yeah, Jamal Williams that I
can't remember. But like he's been so great in practice,
he hasn't gotten any touches in the game. Like that's
understanding more than just the game. And it's a temperature

(29:56):
in the room, exactly what you're staying.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Very very good explanation. He is carry roads. I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
We are a lot from the Tiraq dot com studios
keeping an eye on these three late games Commanders and Panthers.
Has heard Martin say at the half twenty seven to nothing,
the Chiefs right now, have the football up fourteen to
three on San Francisco. Is there at the two minute
warning In Santa Clara Chiefs, facing a third and eight
on their own twenty seven yard line, Rams have taken

(30:22):
a fourteen to six lead to the locker room as
Daniel Carlson was able to kick a field goal for
the Raiders before halftime. Eight point lead for the Rams again,
Raiders playing without Aiden O'Connell who suffered a thumb injury,
Gardner Minshew in the game and Marcus Mariota in the game.
For Jayden Daniels, he is carry Roads. I'm dan Byer
Giants Egles on my list five. It was the fifth game,

(30:45):
fifth most important game of the week because of the
carryover that it was very Eagles based, but the carryover
from them turning around coming back after the win against
the Browns.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Everybody was healthy. Aj Brown, DeVante Smith. You had this
revenge game today, very Eagles biased and they ended up
pulling away with ease.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
So I've got the second most important game Chief Sniners,
fifth most important game Eagles Giants?

Speaker 3 (31:12):
What is one? What is three? And what is four?

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Will reveal some of those as the show goes on.
Plus a look at fantasy numbers. He's carry Roads. I'm
Dan Byer. That's next year on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
I'm gonna run a play. Mariota is in the gun,
acord to his.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Right, quick snap, looking to his right, now moving to his.

Speaker 8 (31:33):
Right, aly growth going the MS, tuck down, touchdown, walking down.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
It's Fox Sports Red Zone Radio, Big one hundred, Commanders
Radio Network on the highlights, He's carry Rhoades the NFL VET.
I'm Dan Byer and it's all Commanders. And you heard
Marcus Mariota in the highlight. Jane Daniel's not going to
return in street clothes on the sidelines after suffering an
oblique injury. Well know more about the severity of the injury.

(32:02):
But when you're up twenty seven to nothing against one
of the worst, if not the worst team in the
National Football League, no reason to put him at risk.
Commanders cruising. In fact, they're knocking on the door again
in the red zone against Carolina early in the third quarter,
twenty seven to nothing, now inside the twenty yard line,
as I mentioned, looking to add more, but no Jaden Daniels.

(32:24):
But they haven't needed him today against the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
No, they have not.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
The Panthers came out first possession the Red Rocket through
an interception and set the tone for the rest of
the game. It was said to nothing early and after that,
Washington's just, you know, put their foot on the gas
and hasn't looked back at all. They've looked really dominant,
and I think what's being lost. Also here a lot
of the times with the way that Jaden Daniels has
played so far this year, as the defense is getting

(32:49):
better under Dan Quinn as well and Joe Witt, who
was my former dB coach in college.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
So give Joe Witt a little love as well. Not
to change gears. But Brandon Ayuk is down slow to
get up after catching a third down pass from brock
Purty as the Niners are driving. They're inside the Kansas
City twenty yard line, down to the sixteen, but you
kind of got sandwiched on a hit. He's had a

(33:14):
tough time today, a couple of drops. Brock Purty's just
seven or fourteen for one hundred and two yards and
it looks like Ayuk's right knee was bent awkwardly. Don't
want to speculate, but that appears to be where a
possible injury occurred. So now you've got Deebo Samuel who's
been dinged up, Juan Jennings has been hurt, Christian McCaffrey,

(33:36):
we obviously know about. This is not excuses. You know,
the every team deals with injuries, but when you have
that many that the forty nine ers are trying to fill,
it can only go so much. And we even talked
about it during the break when we weren't even on
the air at the time, when au Can Purty just
seem to be off again and now you have a

(33:57):
big play and you're saying, okay, maybe that can get momentum,
and now IU ends up getting injured.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
Yeah, it just kind of lends to you know, I'm
old school, even though I mean obviously not that that old,
but I'm old school when it comes to my time
planning the league and the reps and the attrition and
the callous that you have to develop to be an
NFL player. When you don't get those preseason snaps and

(34:22):
you don't get that repetition during camp, a lot of
injuries happen. You got to learn how to protect yourself
all over again each year, and you see this a
lot now in today's NFL.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Your extra steps to not say you're old reminds me
of Mary Mack, who's going to take over for Chris
Purfett in a little bit. Mary's big flex when she
used when she started here at Fox was I'm young.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
I'm young.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
She would say that, and she, you know, she would
say that a lot. I'd be like, do you guys,
if you guys remember when you know this happened with Washington,
She'd be like, I'm young.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
I don't, I don't.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Just the ultimate flex for someone who is looking at
a fifty not too far off. The may be looking
at fifty today, fifty points because they're in the end
zone again. Marcus Mariota a touchdown to Ben sanats Am
I saying that correctly, Yeah, thirty three to nothing, extra
point coming up. It's gonna look at some fantasy numbers

(35:14):
from Ryan Berschinger, Go.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
Go, go Fantasy hits and the missis.

Speaker 10 (35:20):
All right, Bursch, what do you got starting off in
the hits? Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts are your top
quarterbacks for the day. Josh Allen twenty one of thirty
three for three hundred and twenty three yards and two
touchdowns through the air. Jalen Hurts ten to fourteen for
one hundred and fourteen yards and a touchdown through the air.
Also had seven rushes for twenty two yards and two
brotherly shoves in this one for two touchdowns. Jamiir Gibbs

(35:41):
your top scoring running back on the day. Fifteen rushes,
one hundred and sixteen yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Four catches on four targets for forty four yards through
the air, and I'm and Ross Saint Brown also your
top scoring receiver on the day. The Lion's doing really
well there, but there's one lion that's in the misses.
We'll get there eventually. Eight catches on eight targets for
one hundred and twelve yards and a touchdown for Amen

(36:03):
Raw and David and Joku your top scoring tight end
on the day, because now that Amari Cooper's gone, the
Brown's got to throw to somebody. So ten catches on
fourteen targets for seventy six yards and a touchdown. Now
going into your missus. The misses are pretty fun today.

Speaker 7 (36:17):
C J.

Speaker 10 (36:17):
Stroud had a rough one ten of twenty one for
eighty six yards, passing five rushes for nineteen yards Ramandre Stevenson.
The Patriots couldn't get anything going on the ground today.
Seven rushes for eighteen yards on the ground, two catches
on three targets for seven yards. Now the receivers is
where things get real fun. In the misses tyreek Kill.
We do have to mention there's a lot of misses today,
but we especially have to mention Tyreek Hill, who had

(36:39):
one catch on two targets for eight yards. Didn't have
that catch until the fourth quarter, but he had rushing
yards he did. He had one rush for five yards. Yes,
I thought he had like seventy or something. He got
five yards off. That was his line. He had half
a point for three quarters today. And every tyreek Kill
owner is going this is.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
That puts the Reek read because that stinks. That does.

Speaker 10 (37:02):
But speaking of stink, how about stank for Tank Dell?

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Yeah, Na Dell.

Speaker 10 (37:08):
Zero catches on four targets. But yet despite that, he
had more receiving yards than DeVante Smith and DeAndre Hopkins.
Both DeVante Smith and DeAndre Hopkins finished with one catch
for negative two yards.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (37:22):
However, despite that, they both had more receiving yards than
Jamison Williams. Jamison Williams had one catch on one target
for negative four yards. And there are there are real
teams out there. He probably started all of DeVante Smith,
Jamison Williams, DeAndre Hopkins or Tank Dell tire is some
combination of these guys and ending up with less than zero.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
And you are right about that.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Go ahead, Chris you I was just gonna say, like,
you're right about that, that you would have a lot
of because you would think, hey, maybe Packers Texans.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Could get the shoot out with the quarterbacks. No Nico
Collins anymore.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Yeah, absolutely, Dell, Yeah, Viking and Lions over under. I
think was around fifty one. Yep, So yeah, that is conceivable.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
Yep. So not one of those made up lineups.

Speaker 10 (38:08):
No, No, A lot of misses on the receiving end,
and those are your fantasy hits and misses from the
early games.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
That's why I always when people would be like, boy,
I hope you didn't start Alec Engold in your fantasy
lineup he fumbled today, Well no, I didn't.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
You know, like I wouldn't start a fullback, like there's
no reason.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
To This is Kyle, Kyle, you might get still Still,
I don't know how much use check is of use
in fantasy football. The forty nine ers add some points
near the end of halftime. They kick a field goal,
so they settle for three. It's fourteen to six. Anders
Carlson handling the kicking duties now for San Francisco is

(38:46):
Jake Moody was injured a couple of weeks back, and
they've had some injuries to deal with at the kicking
spot as well now dealing with it at the wide
receiver position with the Ayuk injury. Will wait to form
more word on that, but Sam San Francisco fourteen to six,
Kyle Shanahan visibly frustrated, completely overshadowing the debut of Ricky Pearsall,

(39:08):
the rookie wide receiver who was suffered a gunshot wound
in late August in an attempted robbery. Making his debut today,
Pearsal does have one catch for six yards, and honestly,
they're probably gonna have to them because of the injuries
that they are dealing with.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
Yes they are, I mean, I know, we let off
the show with me talking about the Chiefs being devout
of their talent on the outside.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
Forty Nineers the right there with them.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
So this is a game of It's gonna be a
game of will, a game of running the ball and
being able to play defense and special teams.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
I think that's going to decide this game.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
And you're not gonna see much of Deebo Samuel, who's ill.
So he woke up sick this morning and he's not
feeling well. So Deebo Samuel not registering right now for
the San Francisco forty nine Ers. He is Carrie Rhodes.
I'm Dan Byer. We had a barn burner in the
NFC North and another barn burner involving an NFC North team.

(40:07):
Why those two games were so important in week seven?

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Next, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Three games of this window, Chiefs Niners our marquee matchup.
As you heard martin SA Kansas City with the eight
point halftime lead. We assume things are kind of over
with in the Nation's Capital as the Commanders are taking
it to the Panthers, and we'll have our eye on
that showdown between the Rams and Raiders as we are
broadcasting live from the TIREC dot Com studios, Tirec dot

(40:36):
Com will help you get there, an unmatched selection, fast
free shipping, free road as a protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tirec dot Com the way tire buying
should be. The Detroit Lions, who I picked to win
the Super Bowl this year. We're winners today against the Vikings,
but I've got a message for them in a little bit.
But I do want to start off because today, aside
from the great matchups that we've had in the NFL,

(40:59):
we are noticing some significant injuries. Deshaun Watson suffering the
achilles injury in the game against the Bengals, so the
Browns quarterback done for the season, and now Brandon Aiyuk
has been carted off with a knee injury in the
game for the forty nine ers against the Kansas City Chiefs.
In Ayuk's case, specifically, this is why you want your contract.

(41:24):
This is the so for everything that Brandon Aiyuk had
done up to this point, Carrie and we had even
talked about how he and Brock Purty don't seem like
they're on the same page. And if I sound like
I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth, maybe
I am, But this is the reality of it is
Brandon Ayuk's season could be done, and as a wide receiver,

(41:48):
this is the reason why you want that money. This
is the reason why you want that contract, why you
want those guarantees, why you want that situation, and why
you don't want to play on a one year deal
prior to entering free agency. It's for this exact situation
that has possibly happened to Brandon Nayuk.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
We don't know the severity of it.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Yeah, but I don't say I feel bad, but we're
sitting there saying, like, oh gosh, there're you know, the
the rapport between him and perty just not there. This
is gonna hurt the forty nine ers super Bowl chances.
But this is why Brandon Nayuk did all of that,
and honestly, looking back on it, I'm glad that he did,
considering what may have transpired today against Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (42:30):
Yeah, no, of course.

Speaker 4 (42:32):
I mean as a former player and somebody that you
know knows that how how the negotiation process works, and
how you know, how dirty and how matter of fact
and like all the I guess superlatives that you can
add to that process. It's a hard process, and so

(42:52):
like you have people on the outside, you have have media,
you have fans saying get your butt the camp and
work with the team and be a any player and
get all this stuff done. And that's some of that's fair.
But at the end of the day, he's got to
take care of himself and look out for himself. And
you know, he's not going out here to try to
get hurt and be in this situation. It happens. It's
the NFL, and so the fact that he has some

(43:14):
security there, it does make you feel good for him
as an individual. But right now, I mean, like I said,
we talked about it earlier, the forty nine ers are
in a dire situation right now.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
I mean, they're losing.

Speaker 4 (43:25):
Key players here all over the place, and they're not
playing good football either.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
He is carry roads, Fina, make Carrie twenty five roads.
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox. If
we get word on the severity of the Auk injury
or anything regarding that, we will definitely pass it along.
But again, the Niners playing a bit shorthanded, not only
again without Christian McCaffrey hasn't played this year, but Deebo
Samuel was ill. He was also dinged up earlier in
the week, but ended up being taken off the injury report.

(43:52):
Juwan Jennings dinged up as well. So they are short,
the forty nine ers are and are going to have
to try to come back against the unbeaten Kansas City
Chiefs now the only unbeaten left in the National Football League.
By the way, the Raiders have just turned it over,
so the Rams have an eight point lead, and now
we'll have the football as it looks like Gardner Minshew

(44:12):
has just thrown an interception on third and six in
his own territory, so.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
The Minshew mania.

Speaker 2 (44:21):
Has gone out through it, behind the receiver and into
the defender's arms. So the Rams are going to be
set up up eight on the Raiders and in Las
Vegas field position. The Vikings lost their first loss of
the season in what I think was the game of
the week heading into Week seven. Before afterwards, Jake Bates

(44:42):
kicks a long field goal to allow the Lions to
grab the lead with about fifteen seconds remaining in the game.
So the Lions end up getting the victory. And here's
my opportunity to do this with the Lions because I
did pick them to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (44:56):
Carryep. This is me after a big win.

Speaker 2 (45:00):
And imagine me being Dan Campbell and I put my
arm around our entire team and I gotta smile on
my face because we've won. But you have to remember something.
And maybe this message is for Dan Campbell as well.
So that's not the greatest in their twenties when they're
grown men, when they are fully grown and they're acting

(45:21):
like they're in their twenties, and it's not about maturity.
My point is is there are things that you did
in your twenties that you would never do in your
forties because you look back and you say, well, that
was stupid. Why would I put that at risk? Why
would I do this? Now I'm in a much better
situation than I was when I'm in my twenties. Why
would I do that. I'm not going to risk any

(45:41):
of this. And I feel that this riverboat gambling style
that the Lions have find when you're one in fifteen,
find when you're eight to nine trying to break through,
find during all those times, but when you are possibly
the best team in the nine Football League. And I

(46:01):
believe that, and that's why I say pick them to
win the Super Bowl, because I think that the Lions
are that good. I don't think you can sit there
and say, all right, we're gonna we're we're going for
it all the time on this or we're running a
fake punt in the first quarter of a game against
the team that I feel that we are better than.
And I think those things that you do in those

(46:25):
games are things that other teams do when you're trying
to get a spark or when you're trying to make
the playoffs. And I think that the Lions, I think
they have to realize that it's not as much about
going forward on fourth in two, because the numbers tell you,
it's more about acting that role of being Look, they
came back, they were able to weather the storm. You

(46:47):
want to know why, because they're the better team. Even
without your star defensive end. They're the better team today.
And that's what I think that the Lions need to learn.
Running fake punts in the first quarter not worth it.
The Chiefs ran a fake punt today against the forty
nine ers hasn't cost them. I know there are different
things that go on, but it seems to me it's
more of a Lions thing. Than it is a Kansas

(47:07):
City sort of thing.

Speaker 4 (47:08):
I agree with you, and I know that that's a
hard sentiment to tell to uh, you know, the tail
to the Lions coach.

Speaker 3 (47:17):
I'm sorry, I'm blanking right now. Dan Campbell, thank you
because that's his that's his personality, and that's what's instilled
confidence in his team. Right.

Speaker 4 (47:26):
He believes in us. We know we're gonna go out
here and we're gonna give everything we got to win
this game. So if that's fourth and two inside of
our own twenty and I feel that it's right and
we need the momentum, we're gonna do it. I'm with you, though.
It's they're at a point now. They are one of
the best teams in the NFL. No no if ends
of butts about that. So act like that, Act like

(47:50):
you've been there before, and you know if you don't
get it on the fourth down and you have to
punt it, we're gonna get the ball back and we're
gonna score because we're that good. You have that confidence
about yourself where we don't have to lay it all
out there and give up ten points. You're down ten
oh early in that game. They're the better team and
came back in one. But it's not going to always

(48:10):
be the case.

Speaker 2 (48:11):
They spotted Minnesota ten points today, and some of those
points came off of the fake punt that ended up
not working out for Detroit, and it was a fourth
and seventh situation. I believe that they ended up running
the fake punt on their first possession. So when you're
sitting there allowing Minnesota to take advantage and score on

(48:32):
that opening possession, yeah, yeah, there were a lot of
plays in between, and you still ended up running and
winning the game. I'm not sure that's gonna work out
every week Foroh.

Speaker 4 (48:44):
No, No, you can't spot good teams in this league
ten points early. I mean, obviously they got away with
it with it today. I think they're the better team
out of those two anyway, in theory. Obviously Minnesota was undefeated,
but I think Detroit's a better team and so they
were able to pull it out today. But I mean,
as the season progresses, if you give these teams with

(49:05):
Super Bowl aspirations down the line tampoint leads, you're probably
probably not going to overcome them.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
The defensive back and carry Rhodes jumping up and down
as he sees an interception of Patrick Mahomes. So the
forty nine Ers are set up second and ten now
at the Kansas City twenty three yard line. But Chiefs
getting the ball coming out of halftime. Maybe this is
the break that the forty nine ers needed. I'll tell

(49:30):
you what. They much rather have a short field considering
Brandon Ayuk's injury. Adam Schefter tweeted that Ayuk was pointing
to his right knee as he was being carted off
the field. But Patrick Mahomes turnover giving the forty nine
ers some life. Yep, he is carry Rhoads. I'm Dan Beyer.
Commanders are leading Carolina thirty four to nothing. We told
you that the Chiefs are up in the Niners fourteen

(49:52):
to six. The score has changed in Los Angeles. That
turnover by Gardner Minshew on the interception has turned into
points for the Rams. Kyn Williams into the end zone
as he is seemingly every single week to your touchdown run.
Extra point missed. Joshua Carty off target on that extra point.
So it's a twenty to six Rams lead over the Raiders.

(50:13):
Seven thirty left to go in the third quarter. And
as for the forty nine, Ers Rock Purty with a scramble,
getting about a half yard short of the first down,
so it's going to be fourth and short.

Speaker 3 (50:24):
This is where I would like to use ust Check.

Speaker 2 (50:26):
I mean, not starting in my fantasy league, so we
talked about earlier, but this would be a scenario where
I think Kyle Ustcheck would be useful for your team.

Speaker 4 (50:34):
Yes, it'd be great for them to get this first
down for other reasons as well, but yes, Kyle utex here.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
It's actually a big play for them.

Speaker 4 (50:44):
They usually sneak him out in the sneak him out
in the flat here as a receiver. So oh they
did the Tucht Puss got the first down there.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
It looks like Rock Purdy did get the first down
on a shove with the assists from Kyle ust Check, Yes,
pushing Perty's cheeks past the the line to gain The
Niners will set up now first inten at about the
twelve yard line now of Kansas City in an eight
point game. How bad had things gotten for the forty

(51:11):
nine ers right now? Injury wise, in addition to the
Auk injury, we mentioned, Deebo Samuel injured. There's no Juwan Jennings.
There are uniform numbers that I don't know if I've
seen in a long time, in a very very long
time on the field for the forty nine ers, So
you're likely to see a lot of George Kittle. Something
that actually Bill Belichick pointed out inside the NFL that

(51:34):
if the forty nine ers are going to have any
sort of advantage, it likely would come at the tight
end position because of the problems that Kittle just provides
as a matchup.

Speaker 4 (51:42):
Yeah, he hasn't been involved as much recently as I
would like for him to be. I mean, he's a weapon, obviously.
He's one of those guys that's reckless. He's strong, he's physical,
he makes you know, he does all the dirty work.
So you know, give him some catches, man reward the
big guy.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
He's right now the apple probably of the eye of
one brock Purty. It was the Super Bowl where you
were when Kittle was not the factor that he thought
he could be, but he did come up with a
big fourth down catch in that in that Super Bowl.
Has been on a streak, has scored a touchdown in
the last four games. We'll see if he makes it
five in a row. But the Niners now knocking on

(52:18):
the door first in goal as Jordan Mason takes a carry.
They're now inside the five yard line San Francisco again,
down by eight. He is carry roads. I'm Dan Byer.
Do you think the Panthers will put Bryce Young in
what is now a thirty seven to nothing game in
favor of the Commanders? Is there any value in this?
I hope they don't not this game.

Speaker 4 (52:38):
I mean yeah, I mean obviously I would like for
him to get back in at some point, probably next week,
he would get in. I mean, Andy Dalton's not gonna
wasn't gonna fix this situation. This is a bad team,
and you know they had the one week where it
looked like, you know, you know Andy Dalton was going
to come back and make this team competitive. But they're
not a good team. And I wouldn't throw him in

(52:58):
the mix right now into the end zone. The brock
perty just call his oone number.

Speaker 3 (53:03):
I think he did.

Speaker 2 (53:04):
He did on the quarterbacks if that was the case,
unless it was brilliantly designed by the forty nine ers,
because you had guys going left and guys going right,
and Party just followed his center oh right into the
end zone and the forty nine ers, instead of chasing points,
kicked the extra point and it is now a fourteen

(53:26):
Excuse me, Uh, the extra.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
Point is no good? Did he miss again?

Speaker 2 (53:31):
It is fourteen to twelve, So now hindsight twenty twenty
should have gone for it. Kyle Shanahan's drinking something. I'm
not sure what it is, but it's a fourteen to
twelve game. The forty nine ers getting into the end
zone but not cashing in on the extra point.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
All right, he's carry Rhodes. I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
We'll keep you up to date of what's happening in
Santa Clara and what's happening in Los Angeles. And if
there is a Bryce Young signing in the Washington Carolina game,
we will let you know that as well as we
alive from.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
The tirerec dot com videos.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
Looks like Deshaun Watson has done for the year for
the Cleveland Browns. What's next for them? We'll ask our
NFL in's at our next year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
Live Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's carry Rhoads. I'm
Dan Byer. Week seven in the NFL. Three games going
on right now. Panthers are in the end zone, all right,
chew A Hubbard getting in hitting pay dirt extra point.
Good Commander's thirty seven Panthers seven. Yes, Raiders have added

(54:40):
a field goal. It's a twenty to nine Rams lead.
Playing in La late in the third quarter, and the
Chiefs and Niners in a good one. Not my game
of the week, that's Ryan's Vikings. My game of the
week even before it started. But still we got a
pretty good one between San Francisco and Kansas City. Even
if the forty nine ers are running out of guys
to throw too, they.

Speaker 4 (55:02):
Still got kittled. They still they got to use my man,
use tech man. I want to see him get some touches.

Speaker 3 (55:06):
We've seen.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
You've seen Jerry Rice in those commercials, were in the
old Niners uniform and put him out there. Probably use
him right now. No, right now, it's it's George Kittle,
Jacob Cowing, Ricky Piersall we mentioned making his debut, Jordan
Mason and.

Speaker 3 (55:22):
Ky yus Check the ones who have gotten targets today.

Speaker 4 (55:25):
I didn't even tell you because I wanted to keep
the surprise. They text me at halftime.

Speaker 3 (55:30):
You're like, I'll lever my jets Jersey. Can I bring out? Yeah?
You still got your cleats. I'm like, no, I do not. So, yeah,
they're in need Dan. They could use someone like carry Roads.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
We can always use someone like Adam Kaplan or Fox
Sports Radio, NFL Insider. You can hear him on the
Inside the Birds podcast, dread him on the Pro Football
Network Happy Week seven. Adam, Let's get right to it. Yep,
Deshaun Watson from torn Achilles. Where do the Brons go
from here?

Speaker 11 (55:54):
They're they're ready punt on the season when they traded uh,
when they made their trade of Cooper to Buffalo, that
or that that's a signal that's clubs because they know
this that they punt on the season. And the question
is because they had I don't know if you caught this.
So they had Jameis Winston as the inactive third quarterback,
which means he can only play if Dori and Thomson

(56:15):
Robinson got hurt. Well, they said he got hurt because
they went to Winston. So it has to be Winston
if they're trying to win games and not evaluate Thomson Robinson.

Speaker 9 (56:26):
If they just want to win, they'll go to Winston.

Speaker 3 (56:28):
That's it.

Speaker 11 (56:28):
There's no debate, there's no there's no discussion. It's either
or you don't. There's no middle.

Speaker 9 (56:32):
It's what do they want to do?

Speaker 11 (56:33):
They want to try to win or do they want
to completely punt act like they're not trying to win
and go to the young quarterback. So that's where they're at.
They're an absolute mess. It's definitely a torn achilles. I
happen to be watching the game when it when it happened, like,
oh man, is that the achilles?

Speaker 9 (56:48):
And it is so.

Speaker 11 (56:51):
Yeah, they look at It's just it's a sad state
of affair for the Browns. They're awful. They competed today,
they gave the Bengals a little bit of a run.
The Bengals one three out of four. They're not playing
great football, and then play the Eagles. The host the
Eagles next Sunday. But the Browns are what they are.
They're a disaster. And boy, I really thought the over
eight and a half wins with the right play.

Speaker 9 (57:10):
Of the season. If you like his future numbers. Oops,
that ain't gonna work.

Speaker 4 (57:14):
That was that was Adam, that was my team to uh.
I thought they went that division. I mean no, I
mean I picked the Ravens, but I thought they would
be right there and have a chance to win a
division with that defense.

Speaker 3 (57:26):
And you know, you know the way they played down
the Strets.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
Yes, god, yeah, just to let you know, Matthew Stafford
was just intercepted. So the Raiders now of the football
deep in Rams territory following the interception in an eleven
point game.

Speaker 3 (57:38):
Sorry, carry go.

Speaker 4 (57:39):
Yeah, So we talk about the Browns and I want
to pivot, but I want to ask you one more
thing about them before we pivot.

Speaker 3 (57:45):
Where do they go from here?

Speaker 4 (57:46):
Obviously we know, you know, they thought they had a
team that can, that can, that could compete and win
this year. That's completely off the table. Now where do
they go moving forward?

Speaker 9 (57:55):
Well, again, the quarterback was horendous before he got hurt.

Speaker 11 (57:58):
Watson's been awful, Yes, a little bit better against the Eagles.
He was more accurate, actually he was. He was more
decisive today before the injury. But this is right now
going down as the worst transaction in NFL history.

Speaker 9 (58:10):
Okay, let's call it like it is. Hey, you asked me.
I don't spare words.

Speaker 11 (58:15):
Dan knows me pretty well, so it's awful carry you
hit on it. You know, their defense was phenomenal last
season under Jim Schwartz and it's nowhere near what it
was last year.

Speaker 9 (58:26):
But it's certainly competitive.

Speaker 11 (58:28):
Yeah, but you know, getting the chubbed today he did
score That was kind of cool. It's a good feel
good story. But they just don't have it. You know,
Lojah Moore could be moved. I know some other teams
might have some interest in maybe calling the Browns and
Jerry Judy sign long term. You know, the offensive line
went healthy, is good. They've been banged up there. They
just don't do anything really well on offense. That's that's
been the problem. I just thought I knew Watson would

(58:52):
be not good and probably one of the top ten
worst quarterbacks the season, but I thought it'd be good enough.
They could be more competitive. So where they go from
here is it's real simple is Jimmy has them. The
owner will and eat the ninety two million that's fully
guaranteed after the season. If he is, he'll be going,
they'll cut him. Nobody's taken the contract. Nobody is. So
the question is is the owner we want to say,

(59:13):
you know what, it's not gonna work. We screwed up.
It is what it is. Let's go get a quarterback. Yeah,
because the fans deserve better. This is an absolute embarrassment
in Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
Adam Kaplan joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Find
him on ex at Kaplan NFL. All right, I want
to know if it's a glass half full or a
glass half empty. Deal with green Bay today because they
come away with a victory against the Texans, completely shutting
them down, but did turn the ball over three times.
This was my third best game of the week by
the way, the Texans and Packers. But green Bays win today.

(59:45):
What do you take away from that victory?

Speaker 9 (59:47):
Yeah, when you could.

Speaker 11 (59:48):
When you when you're a minus three and you win,
that's hard to do.

Speaker 9 (59:53):
Terren Love has had a share of turnovers this season.

Speaker 3 (59:55):
Yep.

Speaker 11 (59:56):
But the thing is the true test of a really
talent quarterback is fine way to win, to come back
in which he did won a great game for him.

Speaker 9 (01:00:03):
The second half was a little tough for him. Josh
Shacobs came.

Speaker 11 (01:00:06):
A lot when they need him to Romeo Dobbs after
the strange and stuff, not shown up to practice and
getting bench. You know, he was in active, suspended for
a game. He's come back with a vengeance. He's done
a great job. The final ways went by the way.
Their defense is much better. That's really the story of
this football team. Where they moved Matt Lafleur moved on
from Joe Barry's defense coordinator. They won with Jeff Haffley,

(01:00:27):
who changed their scheme. You know, they've been running a
thirty four for decades and no other running a forty three,
and it's working. They're doing a good job. That's the
story of that football team. They've turned their season around
after a slow start when they lost to Philly in Brazil,
and they're playing really good football. So they got to
feel pretty good about it. And look, look the Texans today.
Their passing game is non existing. Joe Mixon was great.
They had three pretty significant injuries in their secondary coming

(01:00:51):
into the game.

Speaker 9 (01:00:52):
They also two at linebackers.

Speaker 11 (01:00:53):
So the fact that they made the game as close
as as it was, this actually feel pretty good about that.

Speaker 4 (01:00:58):
Adam, I want to talk about We've been talking about
the top five games of the day. The top game
of the day, and Dan's book was the Lions and
the Vikings Today. Can you talk about that game and
what you felt leaving, you know, leaving that game after today?

Speaker 11 (01:01:14):
I know Sam Darno was sufficient, but man, the interception
was terrible. Yeah, I just he's always had these boneat picks.
Where you go, man, what were you doing that? That
one concerned me a little bit. It was good that
Aaron Jones was able to play through his hamstring injury.
I'm not going to say that Jared got figured out
the Brian Floores defense.

Speaker 9 (01:01:31):
But man, he's been unbelievable.

Speaker 11 (01:01:33):
That NFL is best quarterback by quarterback rating in the
last three weeks, it's been unbelievable. And I give I
give Montgomery. Actually, David Montgomery came back after thekne injury.
That was pretty significant when they need him to for
pass protection especially. They also found a pass rush today,
remember without without Hutchinson. I thought that was really good.
They found a way. But they're still trying to trade

(01:01:53):
for a pass rusher. They're still looking into it. I'd
be fairly surprised if they don't get one. Look, they
don't need to get like got super high on one.
But they need help and they know that and they've
acknowledged it and they're still looking for it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
We are, we just trying to connect the Michigan dots
with Max Crosby, you know, from where he played college
and going back.

Speaker 11 (01:02:13):
Yeah, the contract is going to be the issue, as
I understand, a trading for it.

Speaker 9 (01:02:17):
Uh, you know the Raiders, look.

Speaker 11 (01:02:19):
They I remember talking the Raiders in the off season
about DeVante Adams and said, look, let's get into the season,
Let's see how we are. This is not something we
want to do. We don't want to trade our best
players because then you're sending them the bad message. And
then you know, Adams didn't show up to their offseason
program and there were some missions internally, and they said,
you know, we're just gonna We're gonna do what we're

(01:02:39):
gonna have to do. Now when you look at when
you look at the Crosby contract, right, he signed for
two more seasons after this year. There's no guaranteed money
after the season. They're gonna if he gets traded. I'm
not saying they want to turn and they don't want
to trade him, as I understand it, and it will
have to be redone because you're not at his age.

Speaker 9 (01:02:57):
He's still very young.

Speaker 11 (01:02:59):
There's no way you're going to next year without guaranteed
money based on his production. Now he's had this eyge
ankle sprain. That's certainly concerning and you have to know
that if you're going to trade for him. But you're
not sending the right message.

Speaker 7 (01:03:09):
Now.

Speaker 11 (01:03:09):
Obviously they're not very competitive right now, so it's not
going to change anything. All you would be doing is
getting least a first round pick and used to get
it next year to get an edge rusher. Now, I'll
say this about the Raiders. They're super beat up on defense.
They're down several key players. Malcolm Koons, who's a lot
of people don't know about, is a really good edge
rusher who has a knee injury. He's been an I
art to start the season. They're down a bunch of linebackers,

(01:03:31):
a couple offensive linemen. They're not doing anything well and
that's why teams are going to call. They're calling, by
the way, about crossbad for a fact, But right now
the Raiders are telling people that they're he's not available.
Now we're just over two weeks away from the trade deadline.
I'll go back to twenty eighteen, when the Raiders swore
to me that they're not going to trade clil Mack,
he doesn't show up. Gruden gets upset about it. He

(01:03:52):
got bad information. Mack never told him he would show
up for the season. He was going to show up
by the way, I was told by someone close to him,
and he because he wound up being traded to the Bear.

Speaker 9 (01:04:02):
So it's a very strange situation.

Speaker 11 (01:04:04):
And then the other thing is with the Raiders, and
this is what happened in eighteen when they traded Mac
to the Bears. They did not think the Bears would
be a playoff team. That's why they traded him to
They were looking for a bad team so they can
get a high draft back who knew that that season
under Mitch Trubisky they would make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
In twenty eighteen, the forty nine ers were driving in
the Chief's territory. But then Rock Party and Ronnie Bell
were not on the same page and Party was just
picked off by the Chiefs. So Kansas City, with that
two point edge, will get the football back in the
third quarter and the Raiders facing a third and five
down eleven to the Rams, Gardner Minshew throws it out
of the back of the end zone, so they will

(01:04:41):
have to settle for three. Adam Kaplan joining us here
on Fox Sports Radio. Hear him on the Inside the
Birds podcast and read them on the Pro Football Network.
How did the DeVante Adams trade go down? And why
did he go down when it did? Because I felt
like having Devanta Adams on Monday End against the Buffalo
Buffalo Bills probably would have helped. What took so long

(01:05:03):
for it to finally happen.

Speaker 11 (01:05:04):
They actually loosely agreed to the deal of the week before,
as I understand it, and they just had to finish
off whatever they had to do with his contract, by
the way, because they had a sort of a mini restructure. Then,
assuming he's back with him he is, I mean, he's
under contract next year, they're gonna have to redo his contract.

Speaker 9 (01:05:22):
That's another thing.

Speaker 11 (01:05:23):
At thirty two years old, which he turns in December,
they're gonna have to take a look at that. But
they're all in. Look, by the way, they got a
Son Reddick done. Give jer Rosenhale's credit as new agent.
Give him credit for getting that done.

Speaker 9 (01:05:33):
Now.

Speaker 11 (01:05:33):
I have no idea Kerry might be able to speak
to this because I don't know as a player how
you could how you could be gone for essentially nine
months for being around a football team and somehow contribute
right away. I'm not talking about this coming week, but
whenever they think he's ready, I don't know what kind
of football shape is going to be in.

Speaker 4 (01:05:49):
I mean, well, we just got somebody that did that
last year really well, and mister Joe Flacco. But as
far as with an arm, yeah exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:05:59):
But having a guy come off.

Speaker 9 (01:06:00):
The well, I mean we also had Edge Rusher though.

Speaker 4 (01:06:02):
Yeah, Edge Russell Thember, we had Eric Waddo come off
the bench and play well, and.

Speaker 9 (01:06:06):
Any teaching or someone, yeah, he was doing something that
came out and yeah, that's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
The Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
But sure, Yeah, for past Russer to come out and
be explosive, it's gonna take some time obviously, but yeah,
I want to talk about this this She's forty nine
ers game. A little bit of Adam one before you
get before you get out here, because it seems like
both teams are really hurting on the uh at the
skill skill set position, and so what what do they
do that? Do they wait it out? Try to get
healthy or try to see if they can get some

(01:06:32):
somebody to bring in there.

Speaker 11 (01:06:33):
Yeah, so then the Chase are actively looking for receiver health.
They're looking for a veteran. Uh, they're more after a
veteran could come in and play right away. Where where
whereas if they traded for like a young player, that's
they got to learn the new system and it's West
Coast terminology and it's tough to do in the middle
of the season. So they'll be looking for someone who
can understand this terminology come in and play right away. Now,

(01:06:56):
the Niners Jack Jawan Jenksten played at number three. He's
got a rib injury, so Pierceall replaced him. Then you
got the Now, now understand with Deebo Simuel it's an illness,
which is kind of weird. They couldn't come back. It's
who knows what's wrong with them. He also had the
wrist injury for the previous week. And now, I you boy,
it looked it looked like the MCL region. We'll see

(01:07:16):
what what. Kyle Shannan's usually great with revealing injuries after
the game, so we'll see how it goes. Man, that
looked bad. Ye you heard I think was Brady. You
could hear him in his voice. I mean, it didn't
sound good. So they're in trouble, there's no doubt about it.
If they can't, if they come back to win, this
would be amazing considering what they're dealing with. But one

(01:07:37):
thing I do want to mention how great the defense
is for the Chiefs. Their offense is not the story.
It's Decepagnolo and their defense. It's just I don't know
what else see. Nobody talks about their defenses, which clearly
top three in the National Football League.

Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
Carrie pointed out Patrick mahomes two interceptions today twelve of
twenty two, barely over one hundred yards more I iNTS
than touchdowns so far?

Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
Is that right? Wow?

Speaker 9 (01:08:00):
I think it's six.

Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
Yeah, yeah, so it's it's been a rough go yet.
And during this week he was the odds he had
the shortest odds to win the MVY.

Speaker 11 (01:08:08):
Yeah, no way, I go up the two poulss zero chances.
Who have to turn it around now? Obviously second half
you could always do that. Yeah, that's another conversation. Guys
who have another time. I like that conversation. We could
all give her our picks.

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
But no way, he was thirteen to four. Lamar Jackson
was eleven to two. That's that's what I don't make
them made better exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
Yeah. How about how about that.

Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Our line at him the week. Yeah yeah, yeah, very
good candidate. All Right, Adam, will let you go enjoy
the rest of the game. All right, see you in
the game. I meant was Chiefs Niners, because I don't
think we care about commanders, Panthers.

Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
All the raiders rams do A little bit closer, he's
carried roads. I'm dan byer to give us an update
on that and what's happening. Let's go to the news desk.
Martin Weiss. So two out of three ain't bad, meet
Low said one. That's why I've gotten this late window.

Speaker 8 (01:08:52):
So you know, like sometimes you see like oh I
see a tour date for a completion attempts and percentages
like like right now, brock Prady's nine for twenty, Like
that could be September twentieth, like a concert date. Yes,
some of these passing yards, they're just about a hot
summer day in Arizona. All right now, Marcus Mariota leading
throwers in the late window.

Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
He's got two hundred and five yards passing.

Speaker 8 (01:09:16):
That's the most passing yards of anybody so far in
this four o'clock window right now is the Commanders are
just pounding the Panthers.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
By the way, just not starting to throw up because
Bryce Young is in the game. Bryce Young actually did
have a game where it was my birthday. Do you
know what my birthday was? January sixteenth? It wasn't he
was one for six. Was come on, man, that's a joke.
This is my birthday. But sorry, Bryce.

Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:09:44):
I was debating back here whether or not we'd see
Bryce Young out here. You ask why did they end
up benching him when the offense is this bad? I
just said, mercy, mercy for Bryce Young.

Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
Two bad. It's on a mercy rule here for the Panthers.

Speaker 8 (01:09:56):
Forty to seven, three minutes, thirty seconds left in the game.
Like you said, backup quarterback already in there, and backup
quarterback played basically the entire game for the Commanders. Jade
and Daniels got knocked out in the first quarter with
a rib injury. He was questionable to return. His mother
actually tweeted, Jaden is fine and then did the hashtag
h t tail to the Commanders, and I was retweeted

(01:10:17):
by some of the insiders. But when you're up, you know,
I think they're up twenty one by that point, and
then proceeded to now have a thirty three point lead,
so you know, rest the young kid and get his
ribs back together. Matthew Stafford in the Rams with a
twenty to twelve lead over the Raiders. Aight O'Connell started
this game, was knocked out with a thumb injury. Since then,
Gardner Minshew has thrown two interceptions, been sacked and fumbled once.

(01:10:38):
Pretty much every single Gardner Minshew turnover has led to
Los Angeles points. Camp Curl had a defensive touchdown in
this game. Kyrin Williams two rushing and the Chiefs in
the forty nine ers the game of the afternoon right now,
three zero seven left in the third quarter, Kansas City
with a fourteen to twelve lead. Patrick Mahomes has not
been looking great. Thirteen for thirteen for twenty three hundred

(01:10:58):
and sixteen yards, passing two interceptions. Kareem Hunt with two
touchdowns on the ground. Brock Pardy at matching Patrick Mahomes
nine for twenty one hundred and twenty two yards, passing
two interceptions himself and Brock Pardy, also adding a rushing touchdown.
They missed the extra point here Andrews Carlson, the kicker
for the forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (01:11:16):
You may remember Jake.

Speaker 8 (01:11:17):
Moody got hurt making a tackle just a few weeks ago,
which is why Andrews Carlson attempting that kick that was
no good.

Speaker 3 (01:11:24):
He is he has made two field goals though. But
Gerry Dan.

Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
Back to you guys, Thank you very much, Martin. It
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. A look at your
fantasy numbers, and the Chiefs are driving. I'll tell you
if they cash in. As they near the end of
the third quarter in Santa Clara Is they are in
forty nine Ers territory with under ninety seconds to go
in that quarter in the Rams knocking on the door.

(01:11:50):
A big play sets them up in Raiders territory with
a love of first and ten at the fourteen yard line,
trying to extend that eight point lead Fantasy numbers. Next,
he's carry I'm Dan, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:12:02):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
Chiefs are into the end zone. We'll tell you how
it happened. In a SECI's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer.
It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio Live, Forthetireq dot
com studios. Look at your fantasy numbers coming up in
a bit. But an extra point that is very important, Harrison,
butker on and the extra point is good, giving the

(01:12:25):
Chiefs a twenty one to twelve lead on the Niners.
Is Patrick Mahomes on a fourth and goal, was able
to take it into the end zone. Wasn't a sneak,
had everybody spread out, but he called his own number
and ended up getting in. And now the Chiefs have
a nine point lead on the forty nine Ers, who
again playing with out Deebo, Samuel Huzel, Juwan Jenningson available,

(01:12:46):
and Brandon Ayuk was injured in this game, suffering a
right knee injury. Twenty one to twelve. There, twenty to
twelve in Los Angeles, Rams on top of the Raiders,
and the Rams just missed a field goal Joshua Cardy
off of the upright no good, giving the Raiders life
nine thirty nine left to go. It's just an eight
point game in Los Angeles. And if you're just tuning in,

(01:13:08):
Aidan O'Connell out of the game for Vegas after he
suffered an apparent thumb injury in the first quarter. It's
been all Gardner Minshew since and it was all Commanders
today as they topped the Panthers. That's now final and
over Commander's forty Carolina seven.

Speaker 4 (01:13:23):
Yeah, the Commanders came out from the start and really
put their foot on the Panthers' neck. We got to
give a little credit here to Cliff Kingsbury as well.
You lose dating Daniels early in the game. Mariota comes in,
he starts off a little slow, it doesn't have a
lot of passing yards. By the end of his game
he was over two hundred and twenty yards pass and
looked really good. And give Cliff Kingsbury a little credit

(01:13:46):
here as well. I'm gonna give dan Quinn a lot
of credit. And Washington's roster I don't think people thought
was loaded with talent. You mentioned the job that Kingsbury's done,
which is, yeah, they've done a great job offensively. Remember
dan Quinn was the last head coach to get a
job in the previous coaching cycle. In fact, Washington wanted

(01:14:10):
to talk with Ben Johnson, and as the Washington contingent
was flying to Detroit to speak with Johnson and Aaron Glenn.
They were notified that Johnson was taking his name out
of the running it was the only vacancy that was
still there, and that he was going to return to Detroit.

(01:14:31):
So then the commanders had to say, all right, where
do we go? They end up going with dan Quinn.
The Seahawks were the other team that waited the longest
to make their higher. They got Mike McDonald coming over
from Baltimore's they were in the playoffs, but Seattle had
an interest in Ben Johnson and spoke with him just
prior to him pulling out.

Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
But even in Seattle when they were looking for a
replacement from Pete Carroll, there was a fair amount of
Seahawks fans that were like, we don't want dan Quinn.
We don't want Pete Carroll the second. We want something different,
we want something new. So dan Quinn couldn't even go
back to where he won a Super Bowl because the
fan base there almost felt like they wanted something different.

(01:15:12):
I think they're very happy with Mike McDonald. But the
point is is, here's dan Quinn defensive coordinator. Or the
Cowboys took the Falcons to a Super Bowl and he's
the last choice, and people are like, Okay, Washington settled
for dan Quinn. Now they're five and two in a
legit threat not only the NFC East in the NFC, for.

Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
Sure, dan Quinn is not only a really good coach.
I've known him since I was I think my second
year in the league. He was a defensive line coach
for me with the Jets. I've known him for a
long time. Really good dude, really connects with his players,
and so for a turnaround to happen that quickly, there
has to be rapport with the head coach and the players.

Speaker 3 (01:15:50):
He's a player coach.

Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
He does a really good job, a really good job
of delegating strengths as well and power as well. So
you know, like even with the commanders, right, I'm sure
Kingsbury has pretty much complete control of the offense. Dan's
going to oversee it. But sure he's a guy that
knows how to have the relationships. And I think that's
the big reason that success is happening so quickly.

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
In DC, Raiders facing a fourth and one at the
forty one yard line against the Rams, and they got
it with six twenty six left to go. It's an
eight point game, so the Raiders will move the chains
trying to pull even in LA. Let's get a look
at some fantasy numbers with Ryan Berschinger. Versus got his
Dodgers jersey ready for Game six to nine on Fox

(01:16:33):
Sports One. But in the meantime, focusing on football, what
do you got.

Speaker 10 (01:16:36):
Bursch Well, I'm going to focus in on these three
late window games here some interesting stuff coming out of
this fantasy wise. In these three games, only one quarterback
has passing touchdowns, and yes, the Commanders Panthers is now final.
That quarterback is Marcus Mariota's right right, the only quarterback
so Patrick Mahomes, Rock Purdy, Matt Stafford, whoever throwing the.

Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
Ball to the Raiders and the Fantos.

Speaker 10 (01:17:04):
No touchdowns between all of those guys, Marcus Mariota of course,
stepping in for the injury Jade and Daniels. I mean
twoh five and two touchdowns. We don't really care about
Mariota's stat line because there's just no way that anybody
played him this week. But of course the big thing
is I hate to put injuries in the miss section,
but of course a lot of guys I'm sure were

(01:17:24):
very excited about this matchup for Jade and Daniels, and
so it's really tough going for them. Two for two
with six yards before going down with an injury. He
did have three rushes for fifty yards on the ground,
so he didn't he didn't give you a zero in
your lineup, unlike Deebo Samuel, who apparently was sick today
had no injury designation, I believe going into the game.

Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
He was off the injury report on Friday, yes, correct.

Speaker 10 (01:17:47):
Yeah, and played three snaps and left with an illness,
So that is a zero in many lineups. Of course,
Brandon Ayuk also getting injured in that game. Again, hate
putting injuries and misses, but they do happen, and this
will be one to watch moving forward because that knee
injury did not look good. Ayuke finishes with two catches
on six targets for twenty three yards, So there was

(01:18:09):
an effort to try to get Auk going today and
unfortunately that resulted an injury. But let's look at some
hits because without with the with no passing touchdowns in
these games, we've had plenty of rushing touchdowns to go around.
Kareem Hunt eighteen carries sixty four yards and two touchdowns
on the ground. Also two catches on five are on
two targets for five yards through the air. Kyen Williams,

(01:18:32):
of course, I don't know. Are you allowed to still
bet Kyen Williams anytime touchdown because the man is a guarantee.
Eighteen carries fifty eight yards and two touchdowns on the
ground for Kyroen and Chuba Hubbard was able to get
into the end zone for the Panthers, seventeen carries fifty
two yards and a touchdown. Brian Robinson twelve carries seventy
one yards in a touchdown even without a receiving touchdown.

(01:18:54):
Terry McLaurin six catches for ninety eight yards through the air,
so he's really been the best receiver in these three
games thus far. And George Kittle, I believe four catches
for its eighty yards. Yeah, four catches for eighty yards
on five targets, so yeah. And in terms of misses
as well, Travis Kelce four catches for seventeen yards on

(01:19:15):
five targets. Noah Gray has more receiving yards, three catches
for fifty seven there, Xavier Worthy three catches for only
nineteen yards, So not a lot going in the passing
game in any of these games here. And those are
your fantasy hits and misses for the late window.

Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
All right, the Raiders, thanks Bursch. The Raiders are driving again,
first in goal now actually now second in goal after
Minshew was pressured at the three yard line ended up
having to throw it away. That's a twenty to twelve game.
And just you know, the Raiders right now have all
three of their timeouts. So if there is a scenario here,
we've got about four minutes left, three forty to go

(01:19:52):
in the game. If they don't cash in, they could
still kick a field goal. I don't think that they
would think you're going forward in the scenario, but that
is how it plays out. The second and goal for
the Raiders coming up at the Rams three yard line,
and the Chiefs continue to lead the Niners twenty one
to twelve. Forty nine ers have the ball near midfield.
The conclusions of these games plus the new look Jets,
we talk about it next year on Fox.

Speaker 1 (01:20:16):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
The question is are all interceptions the fault of the quarterback?
And the easy answer is no question. Today is how
many were actually brock Purty's fault. As you heard Martin
tell you that the forty nine ers were just picked
off in the end zone. George carloftis providing the pressure
on party all while being held still, was able to

(01:20:40):
alter Purty's throwing motion and a pass intended for Jacob
Cowing and the end zone ends up being picked off
by Kansas City. And so now the Chiefs stop at
forty nine ers drive. It's twenty one to twelve under
nine minutes to go, Chiefs holding that two score lead.
Welcome in. We are broadcasting live from the tirec dot

(01:21:00):
Com studios. Tirec dot com. We'll help you get there
an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
you know, over ten thousand recommended installers, tirec dot com,
the way tire buying should be, all right? How much
of that was on Purdy? He's got a guy on
his you know, tackling him from the right side. Pressure

(01:21:22):
ends up being picked off into the end zone. I
would say zero percent on brock Purty, say zero, I
say eight, okay, And I'll say eight in honor of
Steve Young.

Speaker 3 (01:21:32):
Test forty nine.

Speaker 9 (01:21:33):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (01:21:33):
My favorite quarterback, I'd say eight. In that situation, you
feel the pressure. He's a quarterback. He has to feel
the pressure, right. If the guy's close enough where you
don't feel like you're gonna get that off, he has
to take the sack there.

Speaker 3 (01:21:48):
They're down two scores. You gotta get points there.

Speaker 4 (01:21:50):
You can't throw that ball and hope that it gets
completed in that situation. So in that situation, I know
all tips and all intercepts are not the same for him.
The awareness in that spot is really bad.

Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
The Chiefs now have it up near the forty nine
or thirty seven thirty eight yard line, facing a second
down and three. We'll keep you up to date of
what's happening in Santa Clara, but we do want to
focus on what's happening in Los Angeles, where the Raiders
and Rams are in a tighter one that we expected.
Rams up by five with the football a minute fifty
six left. They have the ball right now, they're on

(01:22:24):
forty five yard line. The Raiders have two timeouts. Raiders
hadn't used any until the previous play, so another first
down by the Rams would likely salt it. But it's
going to be third and seven, and again this is
a Rams team who today playing without Cooper Cup again
and the reason why that is news is the Rams
chose to not put Cooper Cup on injured reserve in

(01:22:46):
hopes that he would be able to return from his
ankle injury shorter than the four game acts absence that's required. Well,
he practiced this week, Things were looking up for a
little while and then not so much later on week.
So Cupp ended up missing this game, and you're obviously
still playing without Puka Nakua. But the point is I
think the Rams were hoping to get Cooper Cup back

(01:23:08):
ended up not doing so. This would have been the
game he would have been back if things would have
worked out, But so the Rams receiving corps once again
short handed a lot of Kyra and Williams. It's a
third down and six now for the Rams and the
Raiders have one time out and so the Rams are
able to get the ball to two to two at
well and he gets about five yards. So now we've

(01:23:29):
got decision time. If you are Sean McVeigh in the
Rams fourth and one, it's a five point game. Raiders
are now out of timeouts. Do you have punted away,
knowing the Raiders need a touchdown. You go for it
on fourth and one carry where if you don't get it,
you're giving the ball to the Raiders basically at midfield.

Speaker 3 (01:23:48):
Oh, you're putting the ball here.

Speaker 4 (01:23:50):
I know, I know McVeigh is an offensive guy and
he wants to go get this first down to win
a game. I'm putting this here. I know it's enticon
fourth and one. You got to make him go to longfield.

Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
I think they're going to go for it. You think
so as the punter watch, No way. I'll tell you
I cheated it. God, I thought I saw McVeigh say
go for it. I thought that I said, And I
may have red lips. He said.

Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
He probably said go put the punt unit out. But
they are punting it away and I wanted to I
wanted to sound like I was a genius and knew
the inner workings of Sean McVay as a head coach.

Speaker 3 (01:24:35):
And I got burned.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
That's why on TikTok, those people who read lips are
the best that we figure out. Actually, what Ceedee Lamb
said to Dak Prescott, not all the speculation. The punt
is away and the Raiders will take over first and
ten from their own ten and a half yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:24:51):
He said spam was better than blooney? Is that what
he said? I forget, I forget all.

Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
They know what that means. People are I love the
drama of TikTok. The Chiefs on a third and eight,
able to converts, getting nine yards. Noah Gray a weapon
for Kansas City. We talked about the forty nine ers
missing weapons. Yes, you know, Xavier Worthy has not been
available the entire game for Kansas City. They lost Juju
Smith Schuster earlier. We obviously know they do not have

(01:25:21):
Rashid Rice any longer, so at least for the for
the time being, so after his knee injury that he
had earlier this year. But Kansas City's gonna have to
figure out a way. No Isaiah Pacheco on the backfield.
So we've seen Kareem hunting getting the end z on
a bunch today. Yes, Dan, they are four minutes ago

(01:25:42):
nine and now getting that first down and able to
work clock. San Francisco does have all three of their timeouts,
but boy, they missed an opportunity Bay getting that interception
and the pressure to party. So it's second down and
ten for the Raiders again eleven yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:25:57):
They're going to market.

Speaker 2 (01:25:59):
As boy, the Raiders could really use someone like Davante
Adams in this situation to help him get out of.

Speaker 3 (01:26:05):
The mess that they are currently in.

Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
I joke because obviously he was traded to the New
York Jets earlier this week. I mean, I don't joke
the fact that it would be nice to have DeVante
Adams here and have someone to throw to, but that
ship already sailed. How surprised are you that DeVante Adams
is a member of the New York Jets.

Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
Not surprised at all.

Speaker 4 (01:26:24):
I mean, come into the year, I may have said
I'd be surprised, But does here in the chatter the
build up to its becoming, you know, becoming into fruition
there with that situation with the Jets and the lobbying.
You know, Aaron's talked about him a lot, and Devonte
talked about Aaron, and so like the connection was there.

(01:26:45):
It seemed like it was going to happen, and he
wasn't happy with, you know, the quarterback situation in Vegas,
So I mean it was I think it was an inevitable.

Speaker 2 (01:26:55):
Gardner Minshew was pressured on third and ten, ended up
scrambling around, throwing off his back foot in his own
end zone pass ends up being picked off. It's the
fourth Raider turnover of the day, and that's going to
seal the deal. The Rams are going to leave with
a twenty to fifteen victory over Las Vegas. Raiders will
fall the two and five Rams will improve to two
and four, and then that leaves what is remaining in

(01:27:15):
the forty nine Ers Chiefs game for what we have
in this late window here in week seven. What surprised
me the most about DeVante Adams going to the Jets. Actually,
there are two things, and I mentioned one of them
to Adam Kaplan. When you make the decision to fire
Robert salaep, I don't agree with that decision. I mean,

(01:27:36):
I don't think that sala deserved to be fired considering
how the season went. They apparently felt different, decided to
pull the trigger. Chiefs, by the way, get it first
down on third and four, so will be able to
work more of the clock. As they're now deeper in
San Francisco territory. Andy Reid about to be nine to
three coming off of a bye with the Kansas City

(01:27:57):
Chiefs he's thirteen and one, I believe with this time
with the Eagles coming off of Rye.

Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
That's right. So you want to talk about.

Speaker 4 (01:28:04):
And Steel undefeated against his former as well against Shanahan
as well.

Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
Yes, yes, Shanahan just cannot get away from it. But
I did not think that Robert Sala should have been fired.
So they make the move. When they made the move,
I then was not surprised at all that they went
out and got DeVante Adams because that's the reason that
if you're going to go all in, go all in,
because obviously you're going all in by firing your head
coach at this point in the season. Yes, coming off

(01:28:31):
of a game again where you were in London and
you were, what an interception from Aaron Rodgers away from
maybe beating the then unbeaten Minnesota Vikings, and the Chiefs
have gotten into the end zone, Nicol Hardman. But there's
laundry on the field on a bit of a end
around if you will twenty seven to twelve, if the
play stands. So, Kansas City looking to add to their

(01:28:54):
total may not necessarily be the worst thing of the
world for the forty nine ers, because if you're gonna
need to score twice anyway, but still a difficult to
tall task. I'll get back to the DeVonta Adams point
once we get the idea of where this flag comes from.

Speaker 3 (01:29:11):
And some fights going on.

Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
Sky Moore Diamodor Lenor involved for the forty nine ers
personal foul, Kansas City personal foul on the forty nine ers.
Those offset after the play touchdown, Chiefs pretty much done
in Santa Clara. So there we go, Chiefs on their
way to a victory twenty seven to twelve with an
extra point coming up. But so I wasn't surprised that

(01:29:34):
the Jets ended up acquiring Devonte Adams after they fired
Robert Sala. It's just that why did they let last
week's game against the Buffalo Bills go past?

Speaker 3 (01:29:45):
Really carry?

Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
There isn't a more important game on your schedule than
a home game against the team that you are fighting
in your division for. And if the whole reason that
you're getting Devontae Adams is to appease Aaron Rodgers and
give him a target that he's familiar with, it's not
like Amari Cooper going to Buffalo. By the way, he
scored a touchdown today in his debut and it's not

(01:30:06):
like getting adjusted in that frame. It's let's get DeVonta Adams,
let's put him in let's roll.

Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
I just think the timing of it was bad. That
was a that was a must win.

Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
Game, and if you look at how the season could
play out, it's not going to be the end all
be all. But there isn't a more important game on
your schedule than the one that they played last Monday night.
And to not have Devanta Adams available for when you're
gonna do the deal anyway, just didn't make any sense
to me.

Speaker 3 (01:30:32):
Yeah, I know the Rand tape.

Speaker 9 (01:30:33):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (01:30:33):
When it comes to getting those deals done in the NFL, man,
it's not as simple as I want that guy let
me pull the trigger, especially with the contracts and compensation
all that stuff that takes place obviously. Like you said, though,
if there's a dire need and the importance of that
game being what it was, get the deal done. I mean,

(01:30:54):
if you're going to do it eventually, get it done.
So I actually, I mean I agree with you on
them what you're saying there.

Speaker 3 (01:30:58):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:30:59):
I'm asking you this because I don't like pop quizzes
pulled on me on radio shows. I like to play games,
but I don't like pop quizzes. But but here's here's
the fact of the matter. I'm not even gonna quizzy
on it. I'm just gonna tell you. If the Jets
win last week, they're three and three right at that point,
and Buffalo at that time would have been three losses

(01:31:22):
and then yeah, they would have been three and three
at that point. Today they got to win, So now
they're at five and two. You lose tonight the Pittsburgh
which is not out of the realm of possibility, even
though the Jets are favored Russell Wilson obviously making his debut,
so something you and I will talk about a little
bit later on. But you lose tonight, you are now
three games back of first place in your division, with

(01:31:45):
that team having a game over you that was in
your yard. So like, if you're gonna even out, you're
gonna have to go to Buffalo and win.

Speaker 3 (01:31:54):
That's why it meant so much. You could be three
games back with Devonte Adams and your team for one
game and well it's not season is not over with.
To make up three games in the NFL not easy
to do. Yeah, two and five will not be a
good situation. Put the debts at all and you talk
about must wins. This is a must win.

Speaker 4 (01:32:15):
If they go to two and five, it's I don't
care how hot they get. They won't win a division
number one, but they'll be in trouble of even making
the playoffs. If they've dropped two and five, they'll be
in trouble. Yeah, So what's the point of getting Devanta Adams?
Can you just give up a third round pick? You know,
at worst he's not gonna make first or second ll pro.

(01:32:36):
That's the other thing is the conditions that were put
on it.

Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
Yeah, all right, we got Trent Williams taking cheap shots
against people who are much smaller than he is. I
know he doesn't start it. This is true. I'm sorry.
I know Trent Williams is universally loved in the NFL
for how good of a tackle is. He only fights
people who are significantly smaller than he is. True, and
everybody thinks he's the bad boy, and don't mess with

(01:33:00):
Trent Williams. It's sucker punches and it's messing with people
who are smaller than he is. That is what you got.
I don't even know who he hit. All I know
is that Trent Williams is twice the size of that.

Speaker 4 (01:33:12):
Oh shit, No, he got hit though, Watch this dad,
he was this is actually I mean, he shouldn't hit him.

Speaker 3 (01:33:17):
But it was warrant and washing number.

Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
If they showed the play, I saw, I saw that
he retaliated.

Speaker 4 (01:33:22):
Yeah, he retaliated on that one. It wasn't him starting
it on that one. But he has done that in
the past. But this one looks like whoever the guy
was with themone, so.

Speaker 2 (01:33:31):
You think he should he should retaliate By Brian Cook,
I gotta do a quick I gotta do a quick bio.

Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
Yeah, no, okay, so there is he's a safety safety.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
Yes, no, you should not not the former Illinois basketball player.

Speaker 4 (01:33:48):
Yeah no, no, no, I'm not poor anybody hitting anybody and
being violent. I'm saying like there was. He didn't instigate
that that situation there, and he had.

Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
Brian with a why point is and even more so,
if the safety comes up and takes a cheap shot
on you, that does not say all right, green light
for me to sock him, for sure. And that's there
was a fight that the forty nine ers had with
the Browns a couple of years ago, and he was involved.
I think Deebo Samuel and on the sidelines. Who comes

(01:34:19):
rushing in but Trent Williams, And all the videos are like,
look at Trent Williams come in and take control and look,
nobody mess with Trent Williams. He pushed Elijah Moore, who's
a five to ten seventy five pound wide receiver who
wears number eight. That's that's what he pushed.

Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
Remember, Trent Williams wanted to fight Richard Sherman after an
NFC wildcard game in Washington. Richard Sherman, That's what Trent
Williams wanted to fight because he didn't like Richard Sherman
talking all of his trash Like this is I just
fight someone your own size, That's all I'm saying. I
got you, Yeah, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
Forty nine Ers have the football there across midfield, but
time is running out. Down sixteen to the Chiefs, two
thirty to go for d nine Ers have one time
out remaining, but Kansas City has that twenty eight to
twelve lead our thanks to rapid radios, the official communication
device of Fox Sports Radio. Rapid radios are instant push

Santa Clara Chiefs twenty eight nine Ers twelve. Coming up
next to Carrie Rhoads will break down one of the

(01:35:33):
biggest plays from the biggest game of week.

Speaker 3 (01:35:36):
Seven. Fast Times with Carry Roads is next on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (01:35:39):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (01:35:52):
There are rules and then there are unwritten rules. We'll
dive more into that on a Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
But we still have a minute eight left in the
Niners game, the Super Bowl fifty eight rematch. San Francisco
has just gotten into the end zone on a one
yard touchdown run for Brock Party, a quarterback sneak. They
are now going for two to make it an eight

(01:36:12):
point game, a one possession game, and they fail to
do so. Pass to Ricky Piersoll is incomplete, so the
Chiefs will hold on to a ten point lead with
a minute eight to go forty nine ers only have
one timeout, so you'll need an on side kick some
points and then another onside kick some more points. Basically,

(01:36:34):
they don't have a prayer before we get two fast
times with Carry Rhodes. He is the alpro. I'm Dan Beyer.
It is week seven in the NFL. I just want
to finish this Trent Williams discussion because I got feedback
from our hallways here at Fox Sports Radio as well,
and people are defending Trent Williams because someone else threw
the first punch. And this is my point in all

(01:36:59):
of this. Number one, Trent Williams is bigger than the
other person. It is not an open invitation. You have
to be the bigger man, not physically but in other
ways to let that sort of stuff go. I understand
you're frustrated you're losing to the Chiefs again, but it's
also a pattern. Trent Williams needs to know he can't

(01:37:21):
do that sort of stuff. You can also get into
more issues later on if you're putting your team out.
Trent Williams ended up getting ejected from this game. He
probably doesn't want to be around anyway. But there is
this point of I just don't think of a smaller
guy throws a punch. It gives you the right to
go in and then do what you do, especially when
you're Trent Williams. So he needs to have the wherewithal

(01:37:45):
to not respond to do stuff like that. So that's
the point that it may not have been his fault
and he may not be picking on the other guy,
but he's also just fighting smaller guys. Sees the guy
as smaller that did it, You're gonna get yours. That's
my issue with Trent Williams.

Speaker 4 (01:38:03):
Yeah, I mean, I'm guessing the other big guys up
front they're probably tired, so they're not trying to fight
them at that point. And again sure, sure so, but yes,
I actually when you say it that way, yes, he
doesn't have to show his dominance against the smaller guy.

Speaker 3 (01:38:21):
We assumed that he would probably be.

Speaker 4 (01:38:25):
Stronger and bigger in that situation, So I understand what
you just stand there.

Speaker 2 (01:38:29):
It's it's like when remember in Breakfast Club, This may
not be exact, but principal Vernon's got Bender and he's like,
come on, one shot right here, you know, yeah, and you
know Bender doesn't take it. And if Bender did take it,
you think Vernon would have thrown the punch, Like is
that the open invitation for it? Like, there's that's what

(01:38:50):
we're saying. You got to be the better man in
that scenario. Bender was the better man. He didn't punch,
is principal.

Speaker 4 (01:38:55):
Yeah, Vernon would have just called the police though, so
it wouldn't have been you know, that's all he was not.

Speaker 3 (01:39:00):
Yeah, yeah, he's just from Draymond Green of the NFL
Tred Williams exactly. Yeah, I like him. Mary Mary's young.
I don't know if you knew that Mary is young.
Mary Mary is young? Are you just do again?

Speaker 2 (01:39:14):
We were talking about how Mary earlier, earlier in her
tenure at Fox Sports Radio, because she is young, but
that was her flex.

Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
The youngest let's add that the young guest, the young guest.

Speaker 2 (01:39:24):
Yes, there's no one younger than Mary here at Fox
Sports Radio. But then she was saying, like what you
missed in the commercial break and this will make I
think this translates when you're working with younger people if
you're my age and mid to late forties, and Mary's like,
I'm not used to working with old people.

Speaker 3 (01:39:43):
Yeah, so it was new as well. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:39:46):
So she's like really confirming how old we are. And
that's kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
I was born in two thousand and three. Like I
put that into respect that you guys are probably like
graduating high school some start. Yeah, that's exactly what I
was doing. Yeah, you're right a little.

Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
Yeah, graduating high school, fast times and carry roads right now,
there it is, she said it, So there it is.
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna argue, all right. The
Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions were playing in my Game
of the Week and then the first half the Lions
were down ten to seven carry, but they had the

(01:40:24):
ball in Vikings territory at the Minnesota thirty five yard line,
facing a second down and eleven for Jared Goff and crew.

Speaker 12 (01:40:32):
Goth takes back looking stuff. It's like those mine up
and downfield. God, and so touch down Detroit Lions. That
is terrific protection up front that game golf time, he
found on the ross streaking up the field. He dropped
it in the basket fourteen to the house and the
Lions have.

Speaker 7 (01:40:50):
Got the lead.

Speaker 2 (01:40:51):
Yeah, it wasn't ten to seven for very long. On
ninety seven point won the ticket and the Lions radio network,
how did it happen?

Speaker 3 (01:40:57):
Carry man?

Speaker 4 (01:40:58):
The Lions have been really good against Blitz this year.
And so I want you to look at three things
on this play. The personnel. It is eleven personnel, so
they got the look and they got the look from
Minnesota that they were expecting. I also, once you look
on this number two, the game plan for pressure. When
you play the Vikings, you gotta have the answer for
pressure against them, and they did this game. And number three,
I want you to look at Jared Goff on this play.

(01:41:19):
I mean, all that goes together and the success of
this play, So we're gonna look at it. They bring
it in, they see the pressure, they get the pressure look,
they motion in, and they bring the receiver in to
help pick up pressure on that play. So it gives
the Lions a little more time to get this playoff.
Usually you got to throw a three step drop to
get a quick completion on this because of the pressure.

(01:41:41):
But with the wire receiver motion over to give the
chip and block as well, he gets a little bit
more time. The Vikings DB's are flat footed on this play.
They don't get any drop because they're expecting the ball
come out quick. Jarrett Goff hits them over the top
for a touchdown. Big play. The Lions come back and
take the lead there and take a fourteen to ten
lead in the second quarter to take control of this game.

Speaker 6 (01:42:03):
Fast times with Carrie Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
And just to break this play down a little bit more, Yeah,
Jered Golf looked left at first, but then immediately threw right.

Speaker 3 (01:42:12):
Is that a decoy? Is that?

Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
Is that him knowing his raid or did he see
something left and then show it and then knew he
had it on the right side.

Speaker 4 (01:42:19):
That's him knowing that he's got time to look that
way and come back because of the because of the
motion coming over to pick up that pressure and give
him time. He knew he would have to. He trusted
his guys to get the job done on their end,
and he did what he had to do. Look off,
come back to the right, hit a big touchdown play
for the Lions. Big win, and now I think they
are number one in that NFC North, which is pretty competitive.

Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
I think I think they're number one in the NFC.
I think, good job Mary, good job Mary.

Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
I think that they're number one in the NFC, and
I think they're number one in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:42:53):
You I know that, Yes, I do.

Speaker 7 (01:42:55):
I do.

Speaker 3 (01:42:57):
I do. Chiefs more defensive as.

Speaker 2 (01:42:59):
We saw today now in their win over the forty
nine ers, but the Lions at one defeat again, they
probably should have won against the Buccaneers. Yes, but a
big win today for them in Minnesota. This was one
of the many turning points in this game. But again
Detroit spotted Minnesota ten nothing lead, in part to the
fake punt that was unsuccess for them on fourth and seven.

(01:43:21):
But this was the touchdown that put them back and
put them in front for the first time.

Speaker 4 (01:43:25):
And one more thing I want to say about the
Lions and Jared Goff in this situation. Eighty percent versus
pressure this year. Number one in the NFL. Four quarterback,
so doing a really good job.

Speaker 2 (01:43:36):
And when you see this on Instagram or you see
it on x of the various places it's posted, I
think the Lions got lucky because the motion man that
came across Number one seemed to be surprised that the
ball was snapped when it was and then as he
was following through on his motion, ended up running into what.

Speaker 3 (01:43:56):
At that time appeared to possibly be a blitzer.

Speaker 2 (01:43:59):
David Montgomery was also going to that side, but then
they had two guys basically on a free man, and
it worked out for Jared Goff to make that throw.
He has carry roads. I'm Dan Beyer, all right, the
action is done. Now there's baseball and football tonight. Let's
go to the news desk. Martin Weiss joins us to
give us the latest of what's been in an entertaining
week seven in the NFL.

Speaker 8 (01:44:20):
YEP, we just had the last four o'clock start go final,
so I'll go ahead and start there, work backwards. The
Chiefs beat the forty nine Ers twenty eight to eighteen
in a game in which neither.

Speaker 3 (01:44:29):
One of these quarterbacks played particularly well.

Speaker 8 (01:44:31):
Two interceptions for Patrick Mahomes, Brock Party with three interceptions,
one in the red zone there, big day rushing for
Kareem Hunt with two touchdowns seventy eight yards there, Patrick
Mahomes adding a rushing touchdown as well. Nicole Hardman with
an end round that went for a touchdown. Rock Party
also had two rushing touchdowns, and that's kind of how
San Francisco was able to score.

Speaker 3 (01:44:50):
The Rams hang on and over the Raiders.

Speaker 8 (01:44:52):
Raiders had a chance to win this game with the
ball down in the late in the fourth quarter eight
and O'Connell got to start. He ends up missing with
the last three quarters with a thumb injury. Gardner Minshew
came in. He had three interceptions, He was sacked and
fumbled that fumbled and returned for a Camp Curl defensive
touchdown for the Rams. Essentially, the Raiders had four turnovers,

(01:45:12):
three of them led to Rams points. Jaydon Daniels was
knocked out of the game early with a rib injury.
His mother actually tweeted that he was okay upon initial
things and enough for me. I'm look if I saw
mom with the tweet, and then Ian Rappaport goes ahead
and gives it the thumbs up, I'm taking it.

Speaker 3 (01:45:29):
I'm taking it right there.

Speaker 8 (01:45:30):
Jaydon Daniels was on the sideline in street closed as
he watched his commander's squad just MERCIFU just unmercifully beat
the Panthers forty to seven in a game in which
Andy Dalton had ninety three yards passing.

Speaker 3 (01:45:42):
We also saw Bryce Young there.

Speaker 8 (01:45:43):
Chuba Hubbard the lone scorer for the Panthers if you
were that desperate in your fantasy lineup today, the Bengals
beat the Browns twenty one to fourteen. Deshaun Watson it's
been confirmed he suffered a torn achilles in the game.

Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
I don't know if you.

Speaker 8 (01:45:56):
Guys have seen any of the postgame comments from Miles
Garrett or Jamison Instant, but all of them very very
taking the Browns fans to task after you heard chance
of he deserves it while he was on the cart
getting carted off of the field there and it's it's
was apparently good news in Cleveland too.

Speaker 3 (01:46:16):
Nick Chubb back from a season long knee injury.

Speaker 8 (01:46:19):
Completely overshadowed by Deshaun Watson and his achilles.

Speaker 3 (01:46:22):
Drian Thompson Robinson.

Speaker 8 (01:46:23):
Robinson came in in relief of Watson, and then Jamis
Winston again in relief of him. The Bills came alive
in the second half, defeated the Titans thirty four to ten.
Couldn't really do much in the first half, but in
the second half and consecutive drives, had a touchdown, a
field goal, a touchdown, a field goal, then a touchdown.
That's how you get to thirty four, right there. Josh
Allen with two touchdowns. Amari Cooper with a touchdown catch

(01:46:44):
his first as a bill Lions hold on to beat
the Vikings thirty one to twenty nine. Jake Bates, former
UFL player for the Michigan Panthers. He had a forty
four yarder to give the lines the margin and victory.
Jared Goff had two touchdowns twenty two for twenty five.
This is his second third game in a row with
a passer rating over one forty. The other two three

(01:47:05):
guys that do it Aaron Rodgers in twenty eleven that
was an MVP season, Kurt Warner in nineteen ninety nine,
that was an MVP season, and Rogers Stalback in nineteen
seventy seven.

Speaker 3 (01:47:14):
So there you go.

Speaker 8 (01:47:15):
Jared Goff sneaky candidate right now. Oh yes he is
for sure. Vikings were formerly undefeated. Not just one undefeated
team that's Kansas City Eagles crushed the Giants twenty eight
to three. Saquon Barkley at seventeen carries one hundred and
seventy six yards and a touchdown could have had a
ton of more.

Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
Me and Dan were watching that game.

Speaker 8 (01:47:31):
And the Eagles really seem like they gave Saque less
carries than they could have. Colts beat the Dolphins sixteen
to ten, Anthony Richardson ten for twenty four one hundred
and twenty nine yards passing adds fifty six yards rushing,
the Packers walking off with a forty five yard field
goal after they signed Brandon mcmahonus earlier this week, they
beat the Texans twenty four to twenty two. Jordan Love
three touchdowns, two interceptions, c J. Stroud only eighty six

(01:47:55):
yards through the air. Joe Mixon back in the lineup.
He had twenty five carries, one hundred fifteen yards and
two touchs. Seahawks beat the Falcons thirty four to fourteen.
Gino Smith with two touchdowns of two hundred and seven
through the air. But Kenneth Walker, on his twenty fourth birthday,
really carried the Seahawks here fourteen carries ninety six yards.
I'm sixty nine yards rather one touchdown on the ground,

(01:48:15):
one through the air. Kirk Cousins ends up getting bench
at the end of this saw little Michael Pennix earlier
today in Jacksonville. I'm sorry in London, Jacksonville the winner.
They get their second win on the air. Patriots still
one in five here, thirty two to sixteen, the final
score tenk bigsby one hundred and eighteen yards and two touchdowns.
And baseball, Like I said that, like you said just

(01:48:35):
a second ago, we are anxiously awaiting the start of
Game six of the NLCS that'll start at the top
of the hour here.

Speaker 3 (01:48:41):
Same thing for the Links and the Liberty.

Speaker 8 (01:48:43):
Game five of THAT'SWNBA finals will start at the top
of the hour as well. And I look back at
the ap tops twenty five in college football after what
was a very busy day in college football, Oregon they moved.
They are number one after Texas lost to Georgia at home.
Georgia bounces up to the second spot. Penn State, Ohio State,
and Texas round about your top five. Vanderbilt makes its

(01:49:04):
first appearance in the top twenty five since the twenty
thirteen season, and the defending national champion Michigan Wolverine fell
out of the top twenty five seeing as they have
a lot of quarterbacks who have seven years of experience
and no talent whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (01:49:17):
Back to you, guys. That's why there's seven years now.
I'm saying, okay, all.

Speaker 2 (01:49:21):
Right, say it while you can, so the NCAA comes
in and takes it away like it rightfully should. To
follow up at the Jared Goff point of the MVP odds,
Bet MGM currently now has Golf plus nine hundred. Only
Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have shorter odds
for the MVP.

Speaker 3 (01:49:41):
This is right now, right now.

Speaker 2 (01:49:43):
Yes, earlier, I told you earlier in the week, Golf
was about seven or eight.

Speaker 12 (01:49:47):
C J.

Speaker 3 (01:49:47):
Stroud Rock Party, We're all ahead of him in terms
of their odds, and that has now changed with obviously
what happened today with Party, what happened today with c J.
Stroud and being kept in check for the Texans and
that lost to Green Bay. But and the play of
Jared Goff. Jared Goff is playing really good football. I
mean the accuracy of his game right now. And it's

(01:50:10):
not just check downs.

Speaker 4 (01:50:11):
He's doing intermediate chunks across the across the middle of
the field on the sidelines. I mean he's been I
think he sought it out today fifteen to fifteen. The
week before he was eighteen of eighteen. So like they're operating,
He's operating at a really good at a really good
clip right now.

Speaker 2 (01:50:26):
Martin did mention that the Browns players, some Browns players,
did not like the chants that were given by the
Cleveland fans towards Deshaun Watson as he ruptured his achilles
and was carted off the field. This is what Miles
Garrett had to say after the game. And then we'll
hear from Jameis Winston. Man does pretty much everything right.

(01:50:46):
He's been a model citizen through college and most of
the pros. He plays a game as hard as anyone
I've seen.

Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
Okay, I disagree, do we have Jameis Winston.

Speaker 7 (01:50:59):
I am very upset with the reaction to a man
that has had the world against him for the past
four years and he put his body and life on
the line for this city.

Speaker 2 (01:51:13):
Oh okay, that's better, That's that's true. Yes, But this
point of making Deshaun Watson the I don't. I don't
wish injury on anyone else, but I'm sorry, I just
I don't feel bad. I don't has nothing to do
with the contract. And maybe that's where some of the
brown stuff ended up coming out and comes from their fans,

(01:51:36):
and maybe they have different feelings. Ninety nine point nine
percent of the time I would feel awful. I do
not feel awful. I did not relish it. I'm not
saying that I was excited. I did not have any
emotion of remorse though when it happened, and it had
nothing to do with the guaranteed contract, which I do

(01:51:57):
think is a layer in it, because I think people
feel that there really wasn't any punishment or anything that
came with Deshaun Watson. But I do not feel bad
that Deshaun Watson's so for that injury today sor right,
Just don't.

Speaker 4 (01:52:09):
You don't I actually, of course I feel bad for
him and the injury, and I know why the other
players would stand up for him in that way in
that regard one hundred percent, because I would as well.
Now the other outside circumstances that we probably talked, I would.

Speaker 3 (01:52:23):
Say he's a model citizen.

Speaker 4 (01:52:24):
No, No, that part that he did not agree with that,
But as far as everything James Winston said, I'm one
hundred percent down with what he said.

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
The part of the Deshaun Watson thing that was also
was so striking aside from just all of the allegations
and everything that we had heard, was also was this
was a guy who was active in the community, and
as I think a fan and someone who follows football,
you almost feel betrayed because it feels like it's this
double life. I'm not saying that we need to know
every detail of what's going on in a person's life,

(01:52:53):
but boy, there was two different sides to the story
in terms of when you are looking at him, and
I just I don't feel bad.

Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
I don't I need to know more about the legal
part of it because I don't know all that story.
And I know that the allegations whatever, sure were they
proven true or like what, I don't know that to
be what.

Speaker 3 (01:53:13):
The yeah, variety of civil cases.

Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
He was never charged criminally, he was never face charges
in a court of law, but there were civil charges.
And I just feel the number of allegations and transpired, yes, absolutely,
And so I just I don't and I'm sorry. When
I saw him in tears on the cart, I just
thought of the tears that these victims shed themselves in
terms of what everything went. I know it's probably not

(01:53:36):
the right thing to say, Yea, I just those were
my emotions when I saw it. I don't wish injury
on anyone. I just didn't have any emotion. I sent
out a tweet saying how many people I think felt
bad for the Deshaun Watson injury. It was an empty
stadium and I stand by it. Sorry, I just do
He's carry roads. I'm dan Byer Jets, Steelers tonight ye,

(01:53:58):
the new look Jets, the new Luke Steelers plus our MVPs.
