Speaker 1 (00:03):
Jonas Knocks. You knew you didn't know anything about me.
He's crazier than else. Wrapped Jonas Knocks.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
You heard me. They'll pray to some darkness is lighting
up your speakers to establish an alibi for the day.
From the tirags dot Com Fox Sports Radio Studios, here's
Jonas Knocks.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Okay, you know there's a reason why you can't have
it more than you do.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
There's a reason why there's there's a reason behind that.
I'll explain what that regard. What's that in regards to
when it comes to the world of sports and something
that was presented to you over the last I don't know,
twelve hours, sixteen hours. It was magical. We'll discuss it
coming up here in just a couple of moments from now,

(01:07):

Tireract dot com The way tire buying should be. There
are these special moments. There are these moments in your
life that if you could bottle them and have them

(01:50):
whenever you want, you'd be a gazillionaire. Like if you
could just bottle channel that injury, that energy, corral all
the all those emotions, get everything together, put it in
a bottle and sell it, you would have money until
until for generations to come, until they die the people

(02:12):
below them, Like you can't. There's those moments in life
and the reason why you can't bottle those is because
they're not meant to be bottled. For example, last night
at the World Series, we got one of those moments,
Courtene's delivery. That's about my bad, said it ses Joe

(02:50):
Davis on the Call for Fox in one of the
moments that you're going to look back on and remember
where were you when it happened? Now, I would like
to also pat my self on the back here. Earlier
this week I happened to fill in on the blowtorch
Am five seven E LA Sports, where many people are
listening right now, which by the way, was stopped a

(03:12):
couple of different times from fans that listen to this
Saturday show. So I appreciate it. Charlie, you know who
you are. Thank you, sir, appreciate it, Appreciate the support.
He listens. So it's always nice to meet people in
person who take in the show and enjoy it. And
none of it is possible without everybody that's a part
of the show. Patrick Chris Nick today, none of it
is possible about those guys. So can't thank you guys enough.

(03:34):
But you know, I kind of threw it out there.
Freddie Freeman's been banged up, and I said, well, you know,
wouldn't it be appropriate if you know, he pulled to
Kirk Gibson and you know, hit a walk off in
that game. I did throw it out there. Unfortunately, I'm
not going to get any you credit for that because
of all the haters out there that just want to
bury me for a couple of subpar performances in Knox Locks,
which we'll get to at the end of the show.

(03:55):
Trust me, all right, I got some explaining to do
and it's going to make some sense. So I did
kind of throw it out there. But what's interesting about
baseball is that you look at moments like that and
you go, man, if you could just bottle it like
that moment is special. But every year in baseball, they
give you those moments, so they kind of do bottle it.

(04:20):
They do present it. It's called playoff baseball, and I've
said it before, it's some of the most exciting playoff
sports you will ever watch. I mean, we could throw
in the NHL if we want to. You could throw
in the nfls sometimes, but I don't think the NFL
is close. Major League Baseball in the postseason is on
another level. The NBA don't even get me started. It's like,

(04:44):
just stop. But Major League Baseball presents that to you
every year. The problem for Major League Baseball, dud, it's
just that damn regular season, you know.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
What I mean.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Like, it's just it's one hundred and sixty two games
and it's just at the end of it, you're exhausted. Okay, dude,
all right, we got it. We got it. Like, I mean,
why do you think every stadium has like a unique design.
Does it make any sense whatsoever that one stadium is
this distance to left field and the other stadium isn't.

(05:18):
One stadium is this distance to home to centerfield and
the other isn't. Like everything's got different dimensions. One place
has got like a bigger foul area than the other day.
It doesn't make sense, but baseball does that to present you, Hey,
it's a different look. Hey, we got some character here.
We're gonna throw it out there. And then the regular season,
come out, Bring the family, get a hot dog, get

(05:40):
like two hundred beers, you know, spend seven thousand dollars
on a nice little night out with the fam, and
you know, enjoy the game. But if they could just
bottle that in the postseason and present that in the
regular season, they'd be good. They would rival the NFL.

(06:01):
But they can't. And a moment like that last night,
that is a once in a lifetime moment for not
only Freddie Freeman, not only has Dad or we talked
about afterwards, but anybody that was there and anybody that
watched it. And you're going to be able to tell people, hey,
where were you when that happened? And look, I know

(06:23):
if you're a Yankees fan. Not thrilled, not ideal. I mean,
the ball was basically served up, you know, like it
was basically served up, and it was just way too
much of a Hollywood ending, no pun intended, and way
too appropriate for the moment, considering the history and Kirk
Gibson and all. It was way too appropriate. That you've

(06:44):
got conspiracy theories, is theorists out there wondering what the
hell happened. I'll tell you what happened. It was a
magical moment, a moment we're all going to remember, and
it's one of those things in your life and beyond
it where you go. Man, if you could just bottle
that and sell it, you'd be a gazillionaire. But what
we found out about last night is that there's some
things that you can't bottle. They're not meant to be bottled.

(07:06):
It's that moment and you either were there and were
present or you weren't. I got to see it. I
feel fortunate and I got to see it. And if
you did, two congratulations, that's going to live with you forever.
Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox
on X at the Jonas Knox on X. All right,
so here we go, all right, here we go. Get

(07:31):
ready because we have got ourselves a return to the NFL.
All right, So just want to list off everything, okay,
because sometimes I'm just telling you right now, you got
to check off some boxes and then it's out of
your hands. A right to a tugobay looa. The pride

(07:56):
of the Hawaiian Islands. We're speaking of affiliates are listening
right now on Fox Sports nine to ninety in the
Hawaiian Islands, the island of Oahu to a tongue of Iloa.
The pride of Saint Louis High School in Honolulu, which

(08:17):
is also the alma mater of some other legends of Hawaii.
The Great Oland Cruits, Dominic Rayola, the dad of Dylan Ryola,
the quarterback for Nebraska. Like you know you've had. I mean,
that's like a hotbed. Two of those. He's back cleared,
concussion protocol, practiced all week, ready to go against the

(08:43):
Arizona Cardinals. So now here is what you do in
this situation. Because there's a lot of storyline, there's a
lot of hot takes out there, there's a lot of lists.
I got it. A lot of concern, all right, but
here's what you need to know, because there's some important
things when it comes to all this. Right, So he

(09:04):
cleared concussion protocol. That's number one. Number two, he is
using the safest helmet possible available to quarterbacks, as tested
and designed as such. He is using that helmet. Yes

(09:26):
it's not a guardian cat, but he's using that helmet.
And three, he wants to play. Okay, so we're all
on the same page here, cleared protocol, is wearing the
most protective helmet you could possibly wear, and he wants
to play. All right, So guess what we all do now?

(09:50):
All right, you sit back, and you turn it over
to the gods, and whatever the hell happens happens. I
don't want to hear any criticism afterwards. I don't want
to hear any judgment afterwards. We have done everything the
proper way, cleared safe, wants to play at this point,

(10:17):
you just turn it over to the gods, and what
will happen will happen. You can be weird about it,
you can be over and look not listen. I'm not
trying to be critical of you.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Like.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
You can take whatever approach you want. To have with this.
But I'm telling you everybody involved has done what they
possibly could do to try and make this as safe
as possible. They've done everything they could. It is out
of your hands.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Now.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Either it's gonna go well or we're going to see
something like we saw before. And I am okay with
i result because the most important things and the most
important boxes have been checked off. Guy wants to play.
They're taking the safest approach possible from an equipment standpoint,

(11:16):
and on top of that, he cleared all the protocols.
We're good here. You turn it over to the football gods.
You let them determine the fate after this, and you
sit back and you just watch. It is what it is.
You can be weird about it or uncomfortable, whatever it is,
but there's nothing further you can do. Now. We just

(11:37):
sit back and see how it plays out. Jonas Knox
here Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox at the
Jonas Knox on X. Then he can hang out with
us as always on the iHeartRadio app. All right, So,
as I mentioned, we're gonna get to Knox Locks, all right.
That'll close up shop at the end of the show,
all right, we're going to you know, listen, I got
a reason to be upset, all right, I'll just put
it that way, So we'll get to that at the
end of the show. We're also going to hand out

(12:00):
an award here on this show, our TGFG Game of
the Week. We're gonna hand out an award like close
Call this week, like three different games got votes but
ultimately only one was the winner. So we'll do that
coming up later on this hour. And we've got another
edition of Do You Care? It's all yours here again
on this two hour extravagans as we take you all
the way up until four pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific.

(12:22):
But did somebody involved in the NFL get catfished? Find
out the answer to that next Jonas is Counted. Today
you're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio Jonas Knox, Fox
Sports Radio, coming to you live from the tiraq dot

(12:47):
Com studios. We will get into this story in the NFL.
I believe somebody in the NFL might have gotten catfished.
I'll be honest with you, not maybe not intentionally, but
ay man is what it is a little quick update
on college football. You'll get a more in depth version
of this and a more professional update as well too

(13:07):
from Nick Cope coming up here bottom of the hour.
But Ohio State at the Horseshoe in Columbus does have
a fourteen to nine lead over Nebraska, Nebraska with three
field goals staying in the game. But that is the
storyline there in Columbus, Navy was undefeated. Let's underline the
word was Notre Dame's up thirty one to fourteen in

(13:28):
the second half of that game in Indiana with a
twenty four to fourteen lead over Washington right now, and
Ole Miss how about Oklahoma, Oklahoma fresh off getting blow
torchs last week, playing them tough at the sip down
sixteen to fourteen, nine and a half to go on

(13:51):
the third quarter. So we will have all of the
more updated versions of those with Nick Cope coming up
here in about ten minutes from now here on FSR.
So I do want to just kind of point this
out that there is the waiting game that is currently
taking place when it comes to Jade and Daniels. Jaden
Daniels was limited in practice on Friday. He's going to

(14:16):
go through some testing and some walkthroughs on Saturday, and
his status for Sunday's matchup with the Bears for twenty
five Eastern time, a CBS call is questionable. So that
is the current situation with Jade and Daniels. Now, Jaden
Daniels did talk yesterday after practice about how he feels.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
I said, I mean I felt good, been treatment all that,
trying to get back right and give myself a chance
to go out there and be confident to play. And
you know, ultimately the trainers and Adam and d k
to make the decision let me play and stuff like that.
You know they feel confident too. You know, from Sunday
to now it feels better, but you know I still
got some time, I still got some marks I need

(14:59):
to you know, they feel comfortable in putting me.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Out there now. Me personally, I think it would be
hilarious if Jaden Daniels doesn't play. And here's why CBS
thought they were a step ahead of everybody else. And
they said, you know what, we see what's coming up

(15:23):
around on the horizon. We see what's happening here. You've
got Bears commanders in week eight, so we've got Caleb
Williams versus Jaden Daniels. Pick number one versus pick number
two in the NFL draft. Jaden Daniels has been great

(15:44):
from the jump. Caleb Williams has recently started to figure
things out. They've thrown a lot at him. He's had
a lot on his plate, probably more so than Jayden
Daniels when it comes to the offense and his responsibilities there.
But he has slowly gotten better and better and better
every week. And so CBS decided, you know what, we're

(16:06):
making the call here. We're gonna have some foresight, We're
gonna look ahead, and we are going to make our
call here. We're gonna go Bears commanders, we're gonna flex
it into the four to twenty five Eastern time window.
And you're probably looking around going, okay, well, if they
flexed that one, which one did they flex out? I

(16:29):
mean probably, like, you know, just a bag of crap
in four to twenty five, Like there's probably there's probably
a subpar game they could swap out. So you're looking
down the schedule and you go, oh, it's got to
be Patriots Jets, Right, that's the one they flexed out. No, no, no,
not that one. Huh Oh, you mean there's a worse

(16:49):
game than that? Well, I don't know like Patty feel
about Colts Texans. They're both kind of decent. Like what
I mean, there's no like, no, no, they didn't. They
didn't flex that one out Ravens Browns. Would they really
flex out Lamar Jackson is in them? No? No, No,

(17:10):
try Eagles Bengals, you know, like one of the I
would say, top three or four most bet or predicted
Super Bowl matchups before the season. So CBS wanting to
outsmart everybody, thought, you know what, We're gonna go ahead,

(17:31):
We're gonna flex Bengals Eagles out of the four to
twenty five Eastern time window. We're gonna throw that at
one o'clock with the other games, and we're gonna put
Bears commanders there because we want to give everybody this
one versus two matchup. And as it stands right now,
it looks like Jade Daniels might not play. Now, I'm

(17:52):
not laughing at the injury. I'm just laughing at the
hilarity of CBS thinking they were out smart and everybody,
only to have the injury pop up and then realize,
oh god, it might be Marcus Mariota. And no offense
to Marcus Mariota, and they're both decent teams. But this
is not the reason that this game was moved into
this time slot at all. You don't walk away from

(18:14):
Bengals Eagles, especially with Cincinnati playing better and better and better,
and like, you don't walk away from that for Bears
commanders to get this matchup at quarterback. You just don't.
And it's almost like CBS got catfished, I swear to God.

(18:34):
Like when it's like when you find out that you
know the guy's married and he starts talking to somebody
or behaving in a way that he shouldn't and he goes,
oh my god, it listen. I know I'm married. I
got a family. I don't want to jeopardize that. But
get a load of her, get a load of her.
And it's just a full blown rocket ship. I mean,
like you could, like pick a magazine of your choice

(18:56):
that's the centerfold, Like pick a website of your choice,
an instagram of your choice, that's the one that is
pinned to the top of the page. And then he
shows up and it's some trash truck driver from Duluth.
You know, hey, you know got catfished. Sorry, buddy, you

(19:19):
ran the risk. All right, you decided you were gonna
get a little greedy. You walked away from a sure thing, okay,
a sure thing, decided to gamble a little bit, and
next thing you know, you're staring at a recycling truck
and some guys like, what are you here for? Like,
I'm not trying to pope, make fun of or you know,

(19:42):
make light of the fact that Jaden Daniels got injured.
I just can't imagine on any level why CBS thought
that would be a better matchup than Eagles Bengals. I'm sorry,
Like I'm sorry, Like you want to give me Jets
Patriots and swap like I would have totally understood, totally understood,

(20:03):
But they didn't. They went this direction, and it's a
little strange to me. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio

(20:50):
on this Saturday edition that we will present to you
an award. We like to hand out awards here. A
lot of people think we're too negative on the show.
Not true, not true whatsoever. We're going to hand that
an award in the NFL coming up next here. But
for all the latest from around the world of sports,
make some noise for Nicko. All right, thank you, Jonas.

Speaker 6 (21:07):
You know you say NFL and catfish, and I know
he's done well to move on and he's on NFL
network now, but I just can't help but think of
man Tito when you put those two words together in
a sense I know's I know by the way, I
thought I knew everything about that story because I was
fascinated by it.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
It's not even my favorite catfish story in the NFL. Well,
I'll probably share that one in a second, right, I
was gonna say man Tite, but then you watched the documentary.
I think it was NET Yes, did a documentary on it.
I feel so bad for that guy.

Speaker 6 (21:36):
I do, I do, I don't, I don't. I'm not
trying to give him a hard time. He's already been through.
But it's just you made the teas and that's exactly
where my mind goes.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
It's so infamous at this point because like I think
everybody at the time was like, oh, yeah, okay, Manti okay,
and then like you meet the person who did the catfish,
You're like, oh, they're just sick in the head. They've
got problems, and he got caught and.

Speaker 6 (21:59):
Someone who's supposed to wasn't it a cousin or it
was like a friend of his, right.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Yeah, it was something like that.

Speaker 6 (22:05):
There was like a there's an established relationship already, so
I feel bad.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Yeah, there was definitely a tie in to all that.
And then you just like all the jokes, all this stuff,
and look, I made him as well too, And then
you watch that and you go, oh, this was presented
in a completely different way than than what the reality was,
which this guy got screwed over. But listen, he's he's
on NFL network now. He does the morning show there.
He's doing a great job. So yeah, I'll tell after

(22:34):
the update, I'll tell my favorite catfish story in the NFL.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
All right, sounds good. Looking forward to that couple of
NFL notes. But before we get your college football updates,
reports say the Cowboys playing to activate running back Dalvin
Cook for their game tomorrow night against the forty nine Ers,
and ESPN says the Rams are open to trading former
All Pro corner Tredavius White. He's been inactive the last
couple of games for Los Angeles. All right, now, let's

(22:58):
go to college football. Number four, Ohio State still leading
Nebraska fourteen to nine inside four minutes to play in
the third quarter. This was interesting moments ago. Will Howard
started nine for his first nine. Then he gets picked
off deep in his own territory. Nebraska's got a goal
to go and they get stuffed at the one yard
line by the buck guys. Ohio State unable to do

(23:18):
anything with the football, so they're about to kick it
back to Nebraska. But just a five point game there
at the Horseshoe. Number twelve, Notre Dame just got a
stripsack and recovered the ball in the end zone to
add to their lead against number twenty four Navy at
the Meadowlands. It's forty four to fourteen in favor of
the Fighting Irish inside five minutes to play in the
third quarter. In Bloomington, Number thirteen Indiana trying to get

(23:42):
to eight and zero on the season and match the
longest winning streak in program history. Washington had made it
a three point game, but then Indiana had an answer.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Here's the stat back Justice gets the call, takes it
up inside again and he punts his way to the
end zone.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
Does he get it in for a touchdown? And the
air just to sell us in with a terrific second
effort Blood that time and he's the guy that got
him in the end zone, got it the first down
and then gets the.

Speaker 6 (24:08):
Touchdown John Fisher courtesy of lear Field on the call,
Indiana has punted it back to Washington leading twenty four
to fourteen. Now early stages of the fourth quarter and
an update in Oxford. It was a halftime lead for
Oklahoma fourteen to ten, but the Rebels get back in front.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Four receivers to the right, pass over the middle, pre
Scords got it.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
He's in the end zone.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
Touchdown. Interesting formation had a sick guy right with two
more receivers or relief pre scoring over the middle. Cayton
hauls it in for his second touchdown of the season.

Speaker 6 (24:41):
That's David Kellen courtesy of lear Field. Paight, no good.
So it's just sixteen to fourteen Ole miss on top
of Oklahoma midway through the third quarter. Jonas a lot
of good college football going up back to you.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Yeah, so why don't we follow it up with a
Cafish story that makes all the sense in the world.
All right, So here's this know why this makes me
laugh every time? It just does. So do you remember
a guy by the name of I Can and Polly.
He played in the NFL for a couple of years,
but like I guess he's most known for back in

(25:13):
I think twenty fourteen. I believe this happened. He was
on the Jets, and he was teammates with Geno Smith,
who was with the Jets. I don't know if Gino
Smith was a rookie, but he was young in his career,
was with the Jets, and so apparently I Can and
Paully broke Geno Smith's jaw because they got into an
argument because he thought Geno Smith owed him some money.

(25:36):
There was like a like he paid for his flight
and didn't think Geno Smith paid him back. So there
was a fight in the locker room and this guy
broke Geno Smith's jaw. Well, like, I don't know if
this had anything to do with, you know, the catfishing
stuff with Mantiteo, but apparently I can. And PAULI was
talking to some woman online and they had had this

(25:59):
plan to meet up and they were gonna like get together,
and hey, you do whatever they're gonna do, you know,
not our business. But uh, you know, finally he shows
up and for whatever reason, like the woman wouldn't turn
the lights on in the place, and he couldn't figure

(26:19):
it out. So like he had his phone up and
he was like a little concerned, like what the hell's
going on here? And so like he had his phone
up and he just saw like the woman approaching him,
but she had like a sheet, like a full bed
sheet over her head in her body, and he's like, what,
I don't understand what's happening. So he's like he does,
what's going on? What's going on? She's very resistant, very resistant,

(26:40):
and then all of a sudden, like the woman's phone
lights up under the sheet and I can't and Paulie
notices that she has a beard.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
So he basically beat the hell out of this dude,
and the cops got called, and I get him.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
Paulie had to explain to the cops.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
I thought it was a woman and he showed up
to the house and to turn out it was a guy.
And the only reason he knew it was a guy
is because the phone lit up under the bed sheet
and she had a five o'clock shadow.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I'm sorry. Like, listen, man, tight teo, all that you
can now step aside. That is the greatest catfish story
in the history of the NFL. Like that is by
far and away. Nothing will ever touch it, nothing will
ever come close. So if you're looking for a just
a separate section in the Pro Football Hall of Fame
in cant Ohio, that's the one, right, That is the one.

(27:38):
Patrick Sweeka, tell Papa Sweek, Big Papa Sweet, to look
that story up. You got it. If he wants to
be entertained, tell him to look that story up of
an NFL player thinking he was meeting up with some woman,
only to find out because her phone lit up underneath
a bed sheet that she was walking around in that
she had a beard. Oh, man, too good.

Speaker 7 (28:00):
I'm gonna tell him, Hey, pops, do you Jonas has
a do You Care?

Speaker 1 (28:04):
For you?

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (28:05):
It's so good. It's just it's a it's a glorious story,
all right. So coming a little in about twelve minutes
from now, we are going to have another edition of
do You Care? That'll be yours here on FSR. Because
we've been way too upbeaten positive on this show, so
we want to have like, you know, like we want
to be able to even things out. So that's going
to be another edition for you coming up here in
about twelve minutes from now. You know, there were a

(28:28):
lot of options this week, a lot of options for
our TGFG Game of the Week. All right, there were
three different options, all right, Three different games received votes,
but ultimately only one gets the honor. So without further ado,
it is time to present to you our t g
f G Game of the Week. And the Game of

(28:50):
the Week goes too Saint said Chargers. Oh listen, while
people in la are folks on World Series Classics and
focused on whether or not the Dodgers can finally bring
it home and whether this town can have a parade
for the first time in a long time. We present

(29:13):
to you Saints Chargers at the world's largest gazebo known
as Sofi Stadium. And you're looking at this going, well,
wait a second. I mean, it's not like the Chargers
are out of it. Oh look, I know, I know,
and listen, I picked the Chargers to do big things.
I still think the Chargers are going to be a

(29:34):
playoff team. But let's be honest here. They've got the
most exciting coach in town, most entertaining coach in town
when it comes to Jim Harbaugh, yet they are the
most boring thing going. Did you see that Monday night
game against the Cardinals? Woof? That was brutal And so look,

(29:56):
I get it, injuries that play the factor, but this
is Jim harr Ba ball and they're going to get
not Derek Carr, but most likely Spencer Rattler will be
the starting quarterback, maybe Jay Cayner, who the hell knows.
But it is not anywhere close to the matchup anybody
thought that they scheduled when they were putting this whole
thing together before the year. So our TGFG game of

(30:20):
the Week goes to the New Orleans Saints and the
LA Chargers at the gazebo known as SOFI Stadium, Little
four h five Easter Time kick as well too, by
the way, others receiving votes, because I mean this was
a really really close vote this week. You also had,

(30:40):
as we mentioned, the Jets and the Patriots, they were
going to get some votes, but Aaron Rodgers there's always
seemingly a storyline there, and then also Panthers Broncos. But again,
you know, Bryce Young's getting the start again, so I
felt like that kind of tilted the odds and you know,
in the favor of Saints. Either way. Congratulations New Orleans,
LA Saints Chargers your TGFG Game of the Week, because

(31:03):
thank God for gambling. If not for gambling, nobody's watching
that one. Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio at
the Jonas Knox on x At the Jonas Knox on

Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming up top of next hour,
about fifteen minutes from now here from the tire Rack
dot com studios. Somebody in the world of sports is
really bad at hide and go seek. I mean really
bad at it. Like it is I blatantly obvious what

(32:00):
is happening here, and it is happeningly curring. It's currently
happening all around you. If you just look a little
bit closer, we'll get into that for you here again,
a little over fifteen minutes from now on Fox Sports Radio.
By the way, quick update from the Horseshoe in Columbus,
where right now Nebraska is driving with the football. They

(32:24):
are deep inside Ohio State territory. As Nick mentioned a
short time ago, Nebraska did get stopped on the one
yard line, a fourth and goal from the one they
got stopped by Ohio State, but they are driving with
the football again. Twelve minutes left to go in the game.
Nebraska's got a first and ten at the Ohio State
eleven yard line, so Ohio State is holding on to

(32:46):
a fourteen to nine lead over the corn Huskers. As
Nebraska is trying to take the lead, Dylan Royola with
a pass towards the end zone, but it is out
of the end zone, and so it'll be a second
and ten from the Ohio State eleven there. And we
will have more on that game throughout the course of
the show because it looks like it is coming down
to the wire there at the Horseshoe. Also a reminder

Speaker 2 (33:23):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time
DMZ reports.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Let's get kinky.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?

Speaker 1 (33:39):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Patrick Sweek and to find out what the hell
people who've been talking about all week?

Speaker 7 (33:44):
Pat all right, well, Jonas, I'll tell you what everybody's
been talking about all week. Do you care that the
refs on Thursday Night Football, who are right in front
of Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold, claimed that they missed the
face mask call.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Yeah, but it's gree I love it here. Look, it
was blatantly obvious to everybody. It looked like an official
the back judge was staring right at the plane didn't
make the call. I mean it looked like that. They
say they didn't see it. They say they didn't have
a good view. It appeared that they did. But that's
the story that they're going with. Okay, like whatever, Like
we'll take your word for it. But this has been

(34:19):
my argument for the entire time, Like everything should be reviewable.
If you want to make everything reviewable in the final
two minutes, that's fine. If you want to have somebody
up in the booth and they've got a signal down
to the officials, Hey that was a close play. Let's
review it. Like, let's just get the call right. Like, no,
it's gonna it's gonna the game's gonna drag on too much. Okay,

(34:41):
Like what do you got to do? Like I would
rather get these calls right so that we know that
the outcome is the right outcome as opposed to well, listen,
it might add. No, no, just get the call right.
They butchered the call. It was awful. I don't think
that really would have made much of a difference on
the game, if we're being on honest, Like, the Vikings

(35:01):
offense did not look the same after the first couple
of possessions, so I don't know that they would have
gone down the entire length of the field, but it
would have kept the It would have kept the game going.
It would have given him an opportunity. And it was
a terrible miscall next.

Speaker 7 (35:13):
All right, well, do you care that the into It
Dome has made a Clipper fan area called the Wall,
which is essentially a student section and only Clipper fans
are allowed in it.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
No, I don't care, don't Well yeah, look, I mean
I'm happy for the Clippers. Like it looks like a
great place. I was outside of it. I didn't have
a chance to go inside. So I was outside of
it earlier in the week doing a show from Hollywood
Park Casino with the great Fred Rogan, but I did
not have a chance to go check it out. Everyone
that's been there has said the place is wonderful, but

(35:46):
you know, you could put whatever you want behind the backboard.
I mean, is Kawhi playing, That's really the most important part.

Speaker 7 (35:53):
Next, all right, well Baker Mayfield was caught using nicotine
during the game, but was not fine, we're disciplined by
the league.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Do you care no, how about you know what I
care about it?

Speaker 5 (36:04):
About?

Speaker 1 (36:04):
How about the guy the owner of Zin. Now, keep
in mind, I've never like done dip or nicotine of
any kind whatsoever, and never smoked a cigarette like, no
long darts in my life, no horseshoes of Copenhagen like,
nothing like that. Never done any of that crap.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
And if if you do it, that's fine, listen, not judging,
It's just not my thing. But like, how about the
owner of Zin coming out saying, well, we were not
happy with that because we don't want our product, you know,
to be seen or to be publicized in front of,
you know, people under the age of eighteen. It's like, okay,
sure thing, buddy. Why don't you just take the free
publicity and run with it instead of being critical and

(36:43):
making yourself look like a horse's ass.

Speaker 7 (36:45):
Next, all right, Jonas, do you care that Dave Roberts
said there's no chance show hao tany pitches in the
World Series.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
No, Like, why did anybody think he was gonna catch?

Speaker 7 (36:55):
Like?

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Where did this come from? Like, hey, bottom of the
ninth Dodge have a one run lead Game seven of
the World Series. What are you guys thinking? Let's put
in Otani hasn't pitched all year coming off what a
second Tommy John surgery. But let's go ahead throw him
in there with the World Series on the line. The
whole idea of it was dumb, didn't make any sense.

Speaker 7 (37:15):
Next, all right, Jonas, I know you're a big movie guy.
Well it's opening weekend for Sony's Venom three, The Last Dance.
Do you care about dancing on over to go see
that final Venom movie?

Speaker 1 (37:28):
You already know that. I don't like. It's just because
here's the thing. I do not understand why anybody puts
a legitimate movie out, like a legit that they think, like, hey,
we expect big things of this movie. We want box office.
I don't know why anybody would put it out during
football season. I swear to God, like, get a clue,

(37:52):
counter program, throw it out at you know, after the
Super Bowl's over. Start running trailers during you know, the playoffs,
in the NFL and then release it the weekend after
the Super Bowl, like get people like looking for something
to do? Ay, what do you want to do? Oh,
let's go see that movie. I do not understand why
they put movies like this out to begin with, first

(38:14):
of all, and then do it during football season. Makes
no sense.

Speaker 7 (38:17):
Next, all right, Jonas, do you care that a funeral
home in Poland had to apologize after a corpse fell
out of ahearse in traffic?

Speaker 1 (38:30):
Yeah? Yeah, I care about that. I love it all right,
Like who didn't lock the door? Like, and I'm trying
to come up with like honest explanations as to why
you're driving ahearse on the highway and a corpse falls out?

(38:50):
Like and I don't know, Like listen, I've never been
to Poland, Like you know, I'm not. You know, It's
not like I've walked around the streets of Warsaw and
been like, oh, you know, I think you guys could
use bigger you know, her seers or you don't like,
why don't you guys shrink your caskets a little bit?
But I look at it and I go, unless this
is Andre the Giant, I don't get it, Like I really, honestly,

(39:13):
I don't understand how this happened, Like the there is
no explanation, like did you just not lock the back door?
Like did you not think like okay, let's close it,
lock it and make sure nothing like what was the
guy playing bumper cars? Like somebody's driving around a dead
body and they're like, all right, let's go ahead, and
like weave in and out of traffic to get to
someplace faster, Like where do you have to go? He's dead? Like,

(39:38):
I like, none of this makes sense. Well, it was
a high rate of speed for what, Like he's dead?
You could like there's nothing more like no, it's over.
Like he's not late for work, he's not late for
a doctor's appointment, he's not late for the dentist. He's
not late for a birthday party. He's not late for

(40:00):
a dinner reservation. He's dead. That's it. There's no reason
to speed, and there's no reason for a dead body
to be lying on the road somewhere in Poland. I mean,
we do know who's bad at Hide and Seek. I
know that we'll explain coming up here in just a
couple of moments from now. Jonas Knox Fox sports radio.

So a quick look at the game of the day
in college football. Right now Ohio State does have the lead.
They have taken the lead back from Nebraska. Will Howard

(41:07):
a touchdown pass to Quinn Shawn Jukins for nine yards
and the TD there to go ahead at the Horseshoe.
And so it is right now twenty to seventeen Ohio
State with the lead over Nebraska with six minutes left
to go in the game. Now it has been a

(41:27):
back and forth affair. Nebraska could have taken the lead
on a fourth and goal from the one they were stopped,
and so they ended up getting the ball back, driving
down the field and scoring on the next possession to
take the lead. Extra point is up and good for
Ohio State, by the way, So it is now twenty
one to seventeen, buck Eyes over the Huskers with six

(41:48):
minutes left to go at the Horseshoe. What's interesting about
this though, and I talked about this to start. I
think it was one of the first weeks of the
season and it was just about and growing up, Nebraska
was like one of the powerhouses of college football. And
so to even see Matt Ruhle have this team kind

(42:09):
of in a position to bring the program back to
have you know, this stud quarterback, this young freshman in
Reyola and everything there, like, it's good if you are
a longtime fan of college football, as i am, because
there was a time where Nebraska was it like they
would go head to head with the top teams in
college football. They'd win national titles. It was a powerhouse

(42:33):
in college football. And so they've just come on bad times.
Bo Polini was there, he was run out of town.
And then you go back and you look at bo
Polini's record and you go, oh, it's kind of pretty good.
That's pretty good. But you know they wanted to you know,
there was the Scott Frost era and all that stuff,
and so Matt Ruhle comes in established success in college football.

(42:57):
As we've seen, it wasn't his fault. What happened in Caroline.
Out of the Panthers are just a bag of vomit.
I mean, let's just call it what it is. And
so you see him get to Nebraska and they're they're
trying to figure this thing out. But there's been this
issue that they've had, and it's beating ranked opponents like
they just can't do it, and they blow a ton
of games like there's like they're one position, one possession

(43:19):
loss record win loss record over the past couple of
years is like astonishing, it's terrible. So there was a
graphic that was just put up a short time ago
when Nebraska took the lead that it was Nebraska's first
fourth quarter lead over a top five team since two

(43:41):
thousand and nine. Wait what, Like you like, there's stuff
that's thrown at you and then you realize, wait what,
And that is where the Nebraska program has been for
a decade. Plus and so to see what they're doing
at the Horseshoe, and again Ohio State credit to them,

(44:03):
come down, Will Howard throws a touchdown pass Ohio State
bounces back. But like this is what Nebraska's trying to accomplish,
Like this is a big deal for Matt Rule and
that program. So the final six minutes of this game,
they're trying to right a lot of wrongs that have
taken place there in Omaha or in Lincoln rather for
years and years and years, and they're trying to get

(44:25):
it done on the road at Ohio State. So we
will keep you posting on that game and how that
finishes up here throughout the course of the show. Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio. But again, Ohio State twenty one, Nebraska seventeen.
Nebraska's getting the football six minutes left to go in
the game there in Columbus. All right, So I know
who's really really bad at hide and seek. I know

(44:49):
who's bad. Either they're really bad at it, or I'm
just really good at seeking them out, Like they're bad
at the hiding or I'm just good at the seeking out.
Whatever it is. I'll say this in this town in
Los Angeles, man, people in the media, they definitely don't

(45:12):
hide that they're Dodger fans. I'll tell you whoof it is.
Oh boy, like there is like there is like forget professionalism,
forget like all of that that that does not exist
when it comes to the Dodgers. I'll just say that
like it is, you know, I mean, and it does
appear that, you know, maybe Joe Davis gets a little

(45:32):
more excited for those calls and than he does you know,
some other calls for other teams. But I'm just saying
I didn't even hide it. Like it's not even a like, hey,
you know, let's try and you know, let's calm down here,
let's you know, act like we've been here before. No no, no,
no no no no no no no no no no
no no. That does not apply it. They lay it

(45:54):
on thick. It is like and and I don't know
if it's because you know, a lot of those same
Dodger fans that cover sports in this town like a
or it's like even nashally, like some people that covered
nationally like like, I don't know if it's that they
like look at what the Lakers have become and realize,
oh god, and you're just so thankful to have something

(46:18):
that's actually a success, as opposed to the clown show
that performs forty one games a year's at formerly Staples
Center now Crypto dot Net or whatever it's called. Like
maybe it's that like I don't know, or maybe like
they're looking around and there's like, you know, some usc
alums and like, hey, we beat Rutgers and there was

(46:38):
like eleven people there, or like maybe it's like, hey,
but you know what about UCLA they won last week?
It's like all right, but the Rose Bowl looks like,
you know, one hundred thousand empty seats every time they play,
Like I don't know what it is, but man, did
they lay it on? And they don't. They do not care.
Like it's like oh yeah, yuh yeah, okay, I mean,
you know, at least at least pen then to have

(47:01):
to call it down the middle, like at least like
at least like let's like, you know, fake it for
a little while. They do not so either. Again, either
Dodger fans that cover sports in this town are either
really bad at hiding or I'm just really good at
the seeking part, because it is painfully obvious to me
and not even this like just nationally, like you could

(47:22):
see it, you could hear it, like like that's that's
how it goes, all right. So I didn't want to
mention this though, because there is going to be a
very uncomfortable situation that will play out. I mean, it
won't be comfortable for me. I kind of accept the
reality that is sports and the reality that is football.

(47:43):
But there is an uncomfortable situation that is going to
play out in the NFL. And and there is a
solution for this, right Like there are solutions, and that's
what we're about on this show. We are all about solutions.
Like most people will come out and they'll just complain
and they'll have no solutions, like well, this is wrong
and that's wrong and that's not right, and I'm like

(48:05):
this and I'm not a fan of that, and it's
like all right, but what are you gonna do about it?
I don't know, just just bitch and moan some more,
not us, not us coming up with solutions to major
issues in sports. That's what we're doing every single Saturday.
So one of the issues, and what is going to
be uncomfortable is tu a tongue of I low of

(48:28):
making his return to the Miami Dolphins starting lineup taking
on the Arizona Cardinals tomorrow. Now, as I mentioned, I
think we've checked off all the boxes here. I think
Tua's passed all the concussion protocols. I think Tua has
also decided to use the safest helmet possible. All right, So,
Guardian Cap you know fanboys out there, like listen, you

(48:51):
can go away. He's using the safest helmet possible and
he wants to play. So if we've checked off all
those boxes, as I said earlier, now you just leave
it in the hands of the gods. You turn it
over to the gods and say, hey, you take it
from here. What's gonna happen is gonna happen. None you
can do about it. That's it. But it's going to

(49:12):
be uncomfortable for a lot of people out there. And
there are people that do not like the fact that
Tua Tagabailoa is returning to play. They look at the
optics of it. They look at the number of concussions,
They look at him being brought out the last time around,
and then he only missed four games this time, and

(49:34):
this is all about money, Like they just they're not
happy about this, and that is totally okay. That is
their right. And as Tua said when it came to
the Guardian cap discussion earlier this week, I appreciate the concern,
but this is a personal choice. So let me take
it from there. I appreciate your concern for being uncomfortable

(49:57):
with Tua coming back to play. So the solution for
you is, don't watch. Just don't watch, Like, if you
don't like it, don't watch, Like if they need to
put a rating up there, like you know, uh like
I don't know what the rating. Uh if you want

(50:19):
like rating you, is there a you rating? Like, uh
you know out there is there, like, are you rating
for uncomfortable? Like we're here's the uh, here's the rating.
We're giving it all right. It's not PG. It's not
PG thirteen, not R, not NC seventeen. No, we're gonna
put it you. It's for uncomfortable. And if like you
are uncomfortable with this, don't watch. You got a bunch

(50:40):
of other games to watch, go pay attention to those,
Like listen, he could get another concussion that could happen.
He could like, uh, you know, freeze up again, like
all that stuff could happen. But you know what, that
could also happen to every single player in the NFL
on every single place, like Aiden Hutchinson's injury. No, that's

(51:06):
pretty much as gruesome as it possibly could get. Chris Godwin, Like,
that's gruesome. Guess what that can happen on every single play.
Darisaw for the Vikings toward two knee ligaments on Thursday night,
out for the year gone, Deebo Samuel two ligaments out
for the year gone, Like DK Metcalf hurt his knee

(51:32):
landing on his back. I don't know what else you
need to see before you start to come to terms
with the fact that, oh, yeah, this is like just violent,
that's what it is. And so to what could get
hurt again? He could suffer another concussion. All of that

(51:54):
could happen. It definitely could. And if you are uncomfortable
with him coming back out to play, don't watch. You
have options. There are other options out there and they
are readily available for you. And if this is something
that you don't feel right about, then do what you
need to do and don't watch. Me Personally, I'm watching

(52:14):
because I accept the reality that is football. Jonas Knox
here Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox at the
Jonas Knox on X and you can hang out with
us as always on the iHeartRadio app art. It's coming
up next year from the tiraq dot com studios. We
are going to tell you how two organizations, two franchises

(52:36):
are in a race to see who can be the
biggest circus this year. Find out who it involves right
here on FSR. We don't need to bring Jonas in
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. We got a good one
bruin at Ohio State Nebraska, a good finish I would say,

(52:58):
I should say between the Huskers and the Buckeyes. So
Ohio State took the lead twenty one to seventeen. They
stopped Nebraska, got a three and out on the next possession,
then had to punt it away themselves. Nebraska got the
ball back, looked like a long completion on first down,
it turned out to be offensive pass interference. And then

(53:21):
the very next play there was a throw and catch
that momentarily looked like a fumble by a Nebraska receiver,
but there was a flag thrown on that play and
apparently they have been called for targeting. Is Ohio State
so it looks like we could get an automatic first
down for Nebraska, who's got the football down twenty one

(53:44):
seventeen with three minutes in change. They are left to
go at the Horseshoe in Columbus, so they are reviewing
to see whether or not this is a targeting call,
but it does look like a Nebraska's going to pick
up fifteen in an automatic first down. Here, Nick Kope
will have all the latest on that for you coming
up at the bottom of the hour in about ten

(54:05):
minutes from now. Also, a little over ten minutes from now,
after we hear from Nick, I'm going to tell you
about something that, look, I understand there being some concern
but I think we're going a little bit too far
with sort of the rules and restrictions of something in
the world of football. So we will get into that
for you again coming up here a little over ten

(54:27):
minutes from now. So there seems to be a race
between who wants to be the biggest circus in the NFL.
And I know that there's like a rivalry between these two.
But they always say that sometimes the people you dislike,

(54:49):
or the people you don't get along with, or the
people that most remind you of yourself. And there's always
been this story that Jerry Jones and Robbercraft don't like
each other, that it bothers Robert Kraft, that Jerry Jones
got into the Hall of Fame before him, that Robert
Kraft looks at the fact that he's got double the
Super Bowls as Jerry Jones and his are more recent.

(55:10):
Yet Jerry Jones still got in before he did. Apparently
during an owner's meeting years ago, Jerry Jones cursed out
Robert Kraft and kind of clowned him in front of everybody.
And so they're like, apparently there's like some rivalry, like
some some issue that they've got with each other. But
I wonder if it's because they're more alike than they realize,

(55:34):
in the sense that they've got football teams right now
that have turned into complete circuses. Like it is hilarious
what is happening in Dallas and New England? All right,
So now we know that the Cowboys this hole whatever
the hell like, the Cowboys went into the bye week

(55:57):
after getting mutilated by the Lions. They go into the
bye week and Jerry Jones threatened the jobs of some
sports talk radio guys Sean and RJ that he does
weekly hits with. There was also the discussion about whether
or not there wide receivers are lazy, as according to

(56:19):
Troy Aikman says that they're lazy, that they run their
run lazy routes. Then Jerry Jones criticized the play calling
and said there was some bad plays and Mike McCarthy
had to kind of laugh it off and respond to
it like the whole thing. And then, you know, apparently
fan tours are an issue. Apparently, like you know, ESPN

(56:43):
came out with this report about fan tours. Kayln Kaylor
of ESPN said that some Cowboys players have cited, you know,
the stadium fan tours there in Dallas is like one
of the biggest issues. Working for Jerry Jones and Dak
Prescott had to comment on that, like it is just
like all of that has happened since they last played
a game, Like it's a circus the entire like Jerry

(57:07):
Jones saying, well, you know, Derrick Henry, you know, it
just wouldn't work in our offense and we didn't have money.
It's like, dude, it's not like Derrick Henry's getting four
hundred million dollars a year, Like he didn't just sign
some super Max contract that the Celtics gave Jaylen Brown
and Jason Tatum, Like it's two years, sixteen million. It's
not like it could have happened like it like one

(57:29):
could have happened. It didn't, like, but it's like all
of that has happened since they last played a game.
And then you've got the Patriots who are like, I mean,
here's the latest. Let you know, let me do that.
Let me go ahead and run down everything that has

(57:51):
happened when it comes to the Patriots. All right, go ahead,
all right, because now there's the latest issue. All right. So,
like you remember before the season, you remember when Girod
Mayo said that Jacoby Brissett was still the starting quarterback
even though he had been out played by Drake may
in the preseason. Remember that that happened, Like that happened,

(58:17):
he said that. So I just think about that, Jacoby
Brissett is still the starting quarterback even though he's getting outplayed. Okay,
maybe don't say that out loud, maybe don't say that publicly,
but okay, kind of weird. Then you had like the
Matthew Judon fiasco. Whatever the hell that was. You know,

(58:38):
they finally decided they had to move on. You remember
that Patriots reporter. We talked about this a couple of
weeks ago. I'd have been like three four weeks ago
something like that. There was a Patriots reporter who was
reporting that, you know, in the locker room, there's like
real frustration, like they're looking around and kind of disbelief,
like how like why are we not playing Drake may

(58:58):
Like you've got this Ferrari sitting in the garage, but
we're driving around on this other car like it just
and like then all of a sudden, like that disappeared,
Like the Patriots reached out and made sure that he disappeared,
and then the guy had to come on like a
show afterwards and say, oh no, no, no, like you know,
I misspoke, I misrepresented. It's like, no, you didn't, you

(59:19):
were telling the truth. Like there's issues there, and now
we know there's issues because Drawd Mayo called the team soft.
Bill Belichick multiple times defended the guys, saying they're not
soft and also made sure to point out the fact
that you know, last year, basically the same players, we

(59:39):
were one of the best defenses against the run. So
it's definitely not the players basically saying no, no. Like last
year when I was here coaching the team, it was different.
Grod Mayo had to respond all that. Rod Mayo also
had to respond to the most recent sideshow act at
the Patriots circus, which is Kendrick Bourne, who said that,

(01:00:02):
you know, maybe a part of the issue in London
when they went over there last week and got pistol
whipped by the Jaguars, and maybe part of the issue
was guys were going out and staying out too late.
Girodmeo had to respond to that, so all go, I
think it was taken out of content. It's like and
you couldn't wait to get rid of Bill Belichick. I

(01:00:22):
couldn't wait to get rid of him, like and it
was like setting stone and girod Mao's the heir apparent
and he's the next guy, and he's gonna take this over.
We're gonna get this, you know, Yeah, we're gonna rebuild.
But like it is a disaster, like leaks stuff going public,
report like it is a disaster. Like the only thing

(01:00:48):
and the only saving grace for the Patriots is that
the Cowboys are also a circus. So you got Robert
Kraft and Jerry Jones who don't like each other but
are both at the helm of the two biggest circuses
in the NFL. And it's just that old adage that
sometimes the people you don't get along with most are

(01:01:09):
the people that you see yourself in most. And I
wonder if those two guys are looking at each other going,
hey man, ah, maybe this explains it, because nothing's going
right for either organization. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio,
at the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on X
and you can hang out with us as always on
the iHeartRadio app. By the way, football fans, be sure

(01:01:31):

Kickoff presented by BETMGM, right here on Fox Sports Radio

(01:01:52):
and on the iHeartRadio app. All right, so somebody is
a little concerned about something that is very prevalent in
the world to sports. Now, I think it's a little
bit too concern. We'll get into that here and get
into the details for you right here on FSR. But
for all the latest from around the world of sports,
including what is happened and got the horseshoe in Columbus
it is nico.

Speaker 6 (01:02:13):
I still have no idea what targeting is, Jonas. It's
just it's just unbelievable. You know, normally you feel like
the big teams get the calls go their way, but
you feel like Ohio State got hosed on that sequence, right,
I mean, so like, what was their explanation for it?
I mean they helmet to helmet, There was no helmet

(01:02:33):
to helmet. It was guy made the catch and they
ruled it a catch. They initially called it incomplete. It
looked like it was a catch fumble. Ohio State recovery
deep in Nebraska territory. They go to review, they say
it's a catch. But then targeting. So a guy has
made a couple steps completing the pass, and then an

(01:02:53):
Ohio State guy, I mean it's his shoulder. It was
a violent hit. But everybody looking at that is just like,
what is the defenders supposed to do on that play.
He lowered the shoulder, there's no crown of the helmet.
He didn't hit the other guy in the helmet. It
was a violent play. So they say it's a catch
and targeting the yards to Nebraska. They got the ball

(01:03:15):
near midfield, they're at the two minute timeout. It's twenty
one seventeen Ohio State second and long for the Huskers
when they come back from break. But just an unbelievable
sequence there moments ago.

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
So here's what I don't understand. So it was ruled
on the field as an incompletion, yes, so then they
reofficiated it, called it a catch on top of it
being targeted. Yes. Yeah, they threw the targeting flag at
the time as well. They kind of let the play go.
So you saw the you saw the.

Speaker 6 (01:03:44):
Catch fumble, and then Ohio State was right there to recover.
But then the officials came together. They ruled it incomplete.
Shouldn't it have been called a catch?

Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
It looked close to me, But I have to watch
it again because we were Obviously.

Speaker 6 (01:03:56):
I was fine with it being called a catch. Honestly, Look,
a couple of steps had firm control.

Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
There was no bobble. I think, look the whole targeting thing.
It's like Derwin James. Derwin James, you know, got suspended
a couple of games back because you know he's a
multiple time offender of you know, leading with this helmet
or whatever it is. And and my and Jim Harbor definitive.
And I thought Jim Harbo was right. And the part
that with targeting and with some of these calls that

(01:04:22):
are made in football now, like imagine in baseball if
you were expected to throw strikes, but the strike zone
was moving around and you were trying to find where
you were supposed to sack, like like you're in real time.
Players are moving, they're dipping their head, they're lowering their
body level, they're lowering their shoulder pad level, and you're
coming in and you're supposed to in real time adjust

(01:04:46):
to a moving target and make a play to not
get penalized. I don't get it. Like it's possible.

Speaker 6 (01:04:53):
Yeah, it's It's the one thing that unites college football
fans is how bad this rule is. But for some reason,
I don't know, it feels like it's been a decade
it's been around, and it just continually is terrible. So
and the tough part is that defender he's got to
miss the first half next week as well. So it's
late in this game, but Ohio State won't have him

(01:05:13):
next week.

Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
May not matter here.

Speaker 6 (01:05:14):
It's third and long for Nebraska's they just keep trying
to throw screenplays and are getting nowhere, and there's an interception.
So there's your ballgame, Ohio State intercepts in midfield. Nebraska
was up seventeen to fourteen. Buck guys immediately scored to
go ahead, and now after all that, it ain't gonna
matter as number four Ohio.

Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
State is going to get the win here. You know
what's to your point, It's like people have been complaining
about the targeting call for years. It's like in the
NFL where people have been complaining, like, hey, why when
a guy fumbles the ball out of the end zone
it goes to the other team and they get twenty
yards even though they didn't recover the fumble. Like everybody's
in Unison on this, like for the most part, everybody

(01:05:53):
agrees like yeah, that's kind of ridiculous. They know it
and never change it, Like you have an opportunity every
offseason review this stuff and make changes and they just don't.
It's strange, honestly, that one.

Speaker 6 (01:06:05):
I'm kind of okay with, maybe not the twenty, but
I'm kind of okay with you got to take care
of the football here near the goal and.

Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
Then look, I agree with that. My problem with that
rule is that it is so punitive that, like, okay,
so the other team didn't recover it and they get
it at the twenty, Like if they wanted to say, hey,
touch back. Now the ball goes back to the twenty,
but you maintain possession, that's totally fine. But the other
team getting the ball and then getting twenty yards on
top of it, I just think give them the five

(01:06:34):
and make them, make them get out or something, find
some way to fix that. But they have options, just
like targeting, and they never do. Yes.

Speaker 6 (01:06:43):
Very weird, all right, So, Ohio State they are gonna
survive here against Nebraska and we'll be a twenty one
seventeen final buck guys in victory formation.

Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
They'll get to six and one.

Speaker 6 (01:06:53):
The party though, Jonas is just getting started in Bloomington.

Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
Here is Rogers throws a little smoke passicked.

Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
He's gonna go for.

Speaker 6 (01:07:05):
St That's Don Fisher from lear Field Number thirteen Indiana
and first year coach Kurt Signetti. They're now eight to oh,
matching the best start to a season in program history,
also matching the most wins in a season in program histories.
They beat Washington thirty one seventeen.

Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
I'm sorry, no go ahead, sorry no, I was just
gonna say those Signetti Marlboro teachers so good wheat, so
good wheat.

Speaker 6 (01:07:31):
You didn't have their story at starting quarterback, but did
not matter. And how about this stat Indiana has not
trailed at any point this season.

Speaker 1 (01:07:39):
Wow to get to eight and o.

Speaker 6 (01:07:41):
He also had number twelve Notre Dame throttling number twenty
four and previously unbeaten Navy fifty one to fourteen the
final from the Meadowlands, largest ranked win for the Irish
since nineteen ninety two. And it looks like number eighteen
Old miss is going to take care of business against Oklahoma.
It was a fourteen to ten Sooner lead at half time,
but it is sixteen zip in the second half of

(01:08:02):
the Rebels.

Speaker 1 (01:08:03):
They lead twenty six to fourteen. Just a couple minutes
to play.

Speaker 6 (01:08:06):
There you got UCF hosting number eleven BYU that is
just about to kick off. Also games we're gonna keep
an eye on here number twenty, Illinois at number one,
Oregon number twenty one, Missoo at number fifteen, Alabama number five,
Texas at number twenty five, Vanderbilt, all those games kicking
off in the next thirty minutes. Jonas back to you.

Speaker 1 (01:08:25):
Thanks Nick, Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. Hey,
by the way, I did want to give some love
here on the show because people are pretty thrilled with
what we've done so far here today, and normally we
mentioned this earlier in the hour, but I did want
to kind of give a little shout out here to
David who writes in this SOCl bleep Jonas is bleep

(01:08:46):
washing and a bitch boy fangirl mode with your boy
toy Broni making history and your favorite bleep bleep boy
getting all the national press as the first dog of sports.
Like the dealerst bleep you are, Paul writes in Boardop

(01:09:06):

your Freddie Freeman gear, bleeping it out to him, go

(01:09:29):
work yourself bleep even more, bleeping your man bleep while
screaming Freddy, envisioning him with his bleep bleep manhandling you
like the bleep.

Speaker 4 (01:09:40):
You are.

Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
At the Jonas Knocks on X, That is, at the
Jonas Knocks on X where you can find all the
unedited versions, well most of those. That last one. I'm
not going to retweet. I'm not gonna retweet. Although I
did find a kind that Paul did right go f
yourself on their hand and put a picture of it.
Maybe that's not Paul, but if somebody did that. So

(01:10:07):
all right, we are going to have Knox locks coming
up here and we'll call it about I don't know,
ten minutes from now from the ti raq dot com studios.
I did want to mention this because I feel like
this we're going a little bit too far here. So Illinois,
the state of Illinois, they have a gambling band now,
all right, So they're banning certain types of betting on

(01:10:29):
NFL games. This is per the league's request, because there
are some concerns that some of the bets would be
easy for one person to manipulate. All right, So among
the bets that have been banned are first play bets,
replay results, whether a kicker will miss a field goal
or an extra point, and whether a quarterback's first pass
of a game will be incomplete. Right, So they say

(01:10:53):
basically that bets have also been banned on anything that
would fall under the umbrella of fans safety, play misconduct, penalties,
officiating assignments, roster or personnel decisions. All right, So what
their idea is, you know, if somebody can have a
direct impact on this play on the outside, we want
to take it off completely. I got an idea for you.

(01:11:14):
Why don't you just limit the number of the amount
of money you can bet on this stuff? Like I
know that we want to like, you know, safety proof everything.
But if anybody's ever had a kid, you could put
up as many rubber protective corner on the top of
all your furniture that you want so your kid doesn't
bang his head on it or whatnot. Like you could

(01:11:35):
do what like put up anything you want. You could
safety proof the doors. They're gonna fall off stuff, They're
gonna make mistakes, Things are gonna happen. Like I know
that we're like really concerned, you know, the integrity of
the game. We got to make sure there's no cheating. Dude.
Just limit the amount of money you can bet on
this stuff. It's not that hard. Well, I mean, listen,

(01:12:00):
uh you know there's a there's a bet out there
on some guy missing a kick. Okay, what do you want?
I mean, there's somebody there that could be in his pocket. Well,
probably not. And I got news for you. If you
want to weed out the scumbags and sports, find the
guys who are willing to risk a multi million dollar

(01:12:24):
career for a five hundred dollars parlay bet on missing
a kick. Like just let's just simplify this whole thing.
But now we gotta have regulations here. Want you to
know that this is all on the up and up. Dude,
we got it. And if some guy is going to
throw away his entire career because he's got a bet

(01:12:47):
on the first play of the game being a rushing attempt,
then guess what. The guy's a loser and he's got
to go. Like, I don't like this whole No, we've
got to protect everybody. Stop. Like, I understand safety. You
want to make sure that the game is on the up,
and I get all that, but It's gonna be okay, everybody.
It's gonna be okay. Gambling is here, just except that

(01:13:11):
there may be some scumbags that are exposed and brought
to light during this whole process as well too. Jonas
Knox here, Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox at
the Jonas Knox on Ax. Speaking of gambling, it is

shortly after the show the podcast will be going up.

corpse that fell out onto the road on a highway

it again. Search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast,
and you'll see this show posted right after we get
off the air. I will also tweet out a link
to that at the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox

(01:14:41):
And in that review, why don't you say some nice things?
All right? Just say some nice stuff, all right, you know,
let it be known, say some nice stuff, share it
with people, be a kind person for once in your life,
or don't. But you can do all that when you
check out the link that I will tweet out at
the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on X. But
right now it is time for this.

Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
Lock it. Let's lock it and no knocks.

Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
Loucks, all right, So let's talk about it. Look, man,
I've kind of pride myself on accepting responsibility for my actions.
I kind of own up to my mistakes. Like if
I suck, I'll say I suck, Like it just it
is what it is. But dude, how am I supposed
to know that the Atlanta Falcons were going to be

(01:15:29):
a bag of crap last week? I mean, Kirk Cousins
got Maybe maybe if Kirk Cousins did he would have
played better. Last week, he got his ass whooped. I mean,
Seattle went into Atlanta and I just thought, man, Seattle
on a three game losing streak, they're getting exposed. And

(01:15:49):
like that game really wasn't all that close, Like like
Atlanta took a beating last week, and so you know,
I had Falcons minus three. That wasn't great. Lions at Vikings.
I had Minnesota off a bye Linus one and a half.
I thought Detroit coming off that big win against Dallas,

(01:16:09):
the aid and Hutchinson injury, maybe there'd be a little
bit of a letdown. Nope, they figured it out at
the end. They got it done. And what really pissed
me off about that game is the fact that there
wasn't even an opportunity for overtime because Sam Darnold couldn't
find his receiver on a two point conversion when Minnesota
took the lead late and the second that happened, I
knew I was screwed. Oh there we go and id

(01:16:32):
oh and two start sweet oh and two start. So
the only saving grace from last week was the fact
that I did what everybody should do, which is when
the Chiefs and Andy Reid are coming off a bye,
you should probably think about betting the Chiefs, and also
when Patrick Mahomes is an underdog, you should probably think
about betting the Chiefs. They both happened last week. They

(01:16:56):
were two point underdogs at the Niners. It wasn't pretty,
but I'll take it. One and two last week, which
puts our season record at nine eleven and one on
the year. We are trying to get this thing back
on track. We're trying to get back to five hundred.
So let's start this week Ravens at Browns. I'm gonna

(01:17:16):
take Cleveland here. I know what you're thinking. Backup quarterback
and Baltimore looked dominant last week on Monday Night against
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The problem is Lamar Jackson always
looks dominant against the NFC. He's like twenty three and
one in his career against the NFC. But I look

(01:17:36):
at this and I go, yeah, I know Jameis Winston
is a backup quarterback. But let's be honest, it can't
be much worse than what it's been like with Deshaun
Watson and Cleveland getting a little bit of momentum, getting
a little bit of something different there. You know, there
was a play caller switch. Plus eight and a half.
They're getting eight and a half points at home in

(01:17:57):
a division game against the Ravens. I think there's a
little bit of a letdown on a short week for Baltimore,
and I think Cleveland comes out and plays a little
bit inspired. I'm gonna take the Brownies at home.

Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
Eagles at Bengals.

Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
I'm taking Cincinnati. I think Cincinnati is starting to figure
things out, folks. They are starting to figure things out.
And if we know anything about the Philadelphia Eagles, we
know that there's always a letdown. It's just who they are.
It's who they've been for a year plus. So yeah, listen,
they got it done last week. They look great. Everybody's
feeling great about the Philadelphia Eagles and what they did
to the awful Giants. But I think they go on

(01:18:32):
the road again and I'm taking Cincinnati minus two and
a half.

Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
Cowboys at forty nine ers.

Speaker 5 (01:18:38):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
I'm an addict. What do you want me to do?
I'll take Dallas plus five. I think this is the game.
Dallas finally rights the wrongs and you don't even have
to win the game. Just keep it within five. Do
me a solid since I picked you to go to
the super Bowl before the year. Dallas. I'll take the
Cowboys plus five. And that is your Week eight edition
of Knoxwacks Knocks. Thanks to Patrick, thanks to Chris, thanks

(01:19:05):
to Dick, Thanks to everybody who took part in the show.
It's been a fun one. Alex and Carmen are next
here on FSR shonas Son of a Bitch.
