I was waiting for Fox, waiting radio.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
It's a you know what, VJ.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I got a feeling.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (00:30):
I got a feeling that we are in for a
banger of a night. Slayton College Football, because this afternoon
was a big dose of Nike will not a whole
lot of drama around the collegiate gridiron in the early games.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
But that just means that this Texas A and M game,
this Florida.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
State Miami game, lookout as Florida State is knocking on
the door of the goal line. Could could that be
the major upset today? We'll see also too not to
mention Game two of the World Series, and that's what
we'll start today out here in beautiful sunny Los Angeles
on this Saturday afternoon.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
I tell you the town. I thought it was an earthquake.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
No, it was just literally everybody in La standing up
and jumping up and down at the same time as
Freddie Freeman took that ball and bo laughed at it
and extra innings to go ahead and give the Dodgers
the game one. When VJ we were on the air
to start Game one, didn't finish it. So what were
the end of Game one? What were your thoughts, because
(01:28):
I have many and they are plentiful.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Yeah, first of all, was going on everybody out there
as always welcome to Marty VJ, Fox Sports Saturday and
Fox Sports Radio Listening Land. We appreciate you guys, very
blessed to be here. So last night you did that here,
you retired, You got out of here faster you normally did.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
I stuck around with squeaks, and we.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Were one of the editing rooms watching the game and
the minute that they pulled Garrett Cole and we're watching
the game live. We're watching it while we're in the air,
and we were talking during the commercial break, and we
just keep talking about like he is in a groove like.
He may not be mowing him down as far as
strikeout let go, but Garrett Colton only give it up
four hits, one urn run and the four case, but
has really settled down after giving up two warning track
(02:08):
shots in the first. Is that what you said, Hey,
maybe he can settle down. We'll say, okay, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
And he did.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
He settled into what we know Garrett colder being that
is a dominant number one starting pitcher in Major League Baseball,
especially when you talk about the playoffs. He's already got
a World Series, he's won it, he's done it, and
now he's trying to do it again for a story
franchise like the Bronx New York Yankees. But the minute
they pulled him, Derek Jeters said it perfectly on the
post game last night. It's a domino effect. It's not
(02:37):
just the pitching that you affect. You now affect the hitting,
You now affect the fielding, You now affect everything by
making a move.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Only eighty eight pitches, ladies and gentlemen, I don't care.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
I will stand on my soapbox with this with baseball,
so I die am. I don't have to move into
this era that people love, where something nice. They're using
seven and eight pitchers and guys are getting pulled in
the fourth and fifth inning. I don't care about pitch
like pitch count. I don't care about that when you
especially when the money is on the table. This is
the World Series. This isn't July, this isn't August. This
(03:08):
is October. We're going into Halloween. This is for the trophy,
this is for the chip. I need my horses to
run as many laps as they possibly can. I'm not
pulling you off if you don't need a drink of water,
if you're not tired, you're not coming out. And last
night I thought Boom pulling him was an astronomical mistake.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
You know what the reserves did. They used five people
out of the bullpen.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
They pitched four innings, forty eight pitches, thirty strikes, zero
strike coffs.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Three hits, four earned runs. They gave up the game.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
But that man they're showing on TV right now, the
manager major mistake for the New York Yankees last night,
Aaron Boone, you pulled out your horse, You pulled them
off the track, and then you let all the other
horses catch up and eventually beat you. When you try
to sub your second and third and fourth ranked horses
out of the stables onto the track. You don't do
that in this sport. And we've seen it. Remember the
(03:57):
last time Dodgers in the World Series. Sure it was
the COVID year. Remember I forget who was it great?
Was it Grinky that was rolling, that was mowing him down?
And he got pulled. But the Dodger players were even
saying in the post game. Mookie Betts was saying in
the post game, hey man, when he pulled him, we
all looked around like okay, and the hits started coming.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
You start getting a rally.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Momentum is one of the most dangerous and one of
the most beautiful things in all of sports. And when
you have it on your side, you have a chance
to win the game. And then of course the walk off,
Like are you kidding? We were talking about his first
hit was a triple right, we were talking about how.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
That was an error committed by Verdugo.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Hey this, I will say this though, for Dogo stepped
up in for the rest of that game. Yes, going
over the wall, bro I just I just literally the
owl that really felt you.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
You know how many players wouldn't even have sacrificed themselves
like that, Like that is a sacrifice that you make
for your team, for your city, for your franchise, for
the purpose of what you're.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Playing that moment for.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
You don't think.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
You just go and do and that's what good sports
athletes do. But Freddy Freeman, he is laboring on his
double scored and air triple advanced the third base early
in the game. We're all sitting around here talking like, man,
he's gutting it out. Here's no way he can finish tonight. Right,
he is basically out.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
There running on one leg.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Hey, he pulls a Kurt Gibson, Are you kidding me,
holds the bat up high, looks to the dugout, flips
it in the air. In this city, not just that stadium,
This city went ballist. Have you seen all the videos online,
like all the different sports bars around. Hell, oh my god,
this city got lit last night. And it might have
ignited the Lakers because they were getting there. It's kicked
by twenty points, they go on the run and come
(05:39):
back again.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
They did play it. They played it in the arena.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
They were playing the game because Bradley Beial is on
the bitch that he might be paying attention, should be
paying attention to the game, but he's on the bitch
watching the last you Know at bat talking about what
Freddy Freeman did. But great game last night sets up
for a great game tonight, cold Man.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
And I told you.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
I don't think he gets both his first starts, and
he did know he should, even though.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
He should about the same. He should have gotten last
night his fault.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
But but I just knew he wasn't getting both his
first starts.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
It's just not It's.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Something in the air, and this time of year with
the like it's the same thing with the Super Bowl,
in the finals, in the Stanley Cup, in the finals
that wimbled in and the last day of the Masters
the World Series. If you don't love baseball, you gotta
at least love this because last night was a perfect example.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Mark Well, to me, last night was a perfect example
a complete and total mismanagement. Like I I feel you
on the cold thing, I do it.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
You got a ride, bro, I'm sorry, I feel you.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
I'm sorry. I don't necessarily have the biggest issue with
pulling them. That's not one of them because we expect.
It's like I feel you because you just expect that
Garrett Cole would just keep on rolling. But like the
Dodgers didn't pull Flaarty at the first sign of danger
and all of a sudden, you know what I'm saying,
then boom, he gets up two runs. I'm just saying,
we look at these decisions, Eric Cole, We look at
these decisions like the other one always would have worked.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Okay, yeah, But.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
The one that I will say is if you don't
have a better option out of your bullpen in the
highest leverage moment of the season up to this point
than a guy who has not seen live action in
a month? Yeh yeah, a month? Yeah yeah, a month?
Whose call is that? It's Aaron Boone's calling?
Speaker 3 (07:23):
He blow, It's not the pitching coaches. Is Aaron Boone is?
Let's him.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Let's say, hypothetically speaking, you were going in for surgery.
Would you want your surgeon to be fresh off the
plane coming from his Hawaiian vacation he took off the
last twenty seven days. Can you get a warm up first? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Probably not.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
How about you practice a little bit of stitching up,
you know, just warm up a little bit, and I
understand you want to get nextra Cortes into the pitching rotation.
You put him on the roster. He's got to get
out there. Maybe the fifth inning, though maybe the sixth.
Maybe you put him in for Garrett Cole. You know
what I'm saying. Maybe you start them game two. He's
a starter. You put him in in the biggest moment
(08:06):
maybe of his career to that point, but definitely of
the season of the season. Right there, you just saw
you know what, thirty days off go ahead, that's to
go get them pal and and then and then Mookie
Vets versus nest to court that you know, the numbers
are eight career and you walk in and you walk.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
You off, who's and you know who are you met?
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Missan earlier Freddy Freeman already almost hit a damn home
run in the first inning. Here here's the thing about
but Mike, it's just to me the that is the
type of move. And I'm not trying to be hyperbolic.
I'm being sincere. That can cost you a whole series.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Oh it might have.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
That might cost in my entire series because even look,
Garrett Cole, you could argue about when you should have
pulled him when you shouldn't have. I tend to agree.
I just don't think it's the biggest deal in the world.
But like he gave you enough to win. Yeah, you're
bullpen honestly up until the night that then regulation gave
you enough to win.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
How many times just Stanton gonna hit that, Like, it's just.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
You blew it? He blew it in is such a
big way, and it's I just can't believe that that
was the move that was deemed to be the best
option out of the bullpen, and it.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Was only it'd be one thing if it was a
fifteenth inning.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
You know what I'm saying, where you like you legitimately
thrown everybody else there were still Yankee pitchershitting there, and
that had pitched in the playoffs, And I was sorry,
go ahead, the mookie thing. I just drive.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
You don't have such a hyperbolic reaction to Cole I do.
I don't have the hyperbolic reaction to walk and move.
It's stupid to do, but you almost had to do.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I get it.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
At this point, it is strategic. He could be all
of eight, but he's still mookie bets. He is still
a former MVP. He is still a former multiple time
World Series champion. Like you, I get why they did it.
And you're going to Freddy who you're going. You're you're
walking Mookie to get the f and he's limping. He's
on one lege. I get all that. That's why I
rewind it. Just back to Garrett Cole at six innings.
(10:07):
You gotta let your guy, he's your number one. You
paid all that money, you chased them down. You rested
him when he's starting on the IR and he started hurt.
You brought him back slowly. You did it right, and
you get him in gay one. You get to the
world serious. You got your horse. You got one of
the top five starting pitchers in Major League Baseball. He
is cruising. He may not be mowing death, but he
(10:29):
is cruising. He is on cruise control.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
And five time champion Derek Jeter could say, then I'm
allowed to say it. If David Ortiz, a Hall of Favorite,
can say then I'm allowed to say it too, that
means I'm writing about it too, because I'll take those
two guys words too. Everyone a right.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Also, everyone was so baffled by that. That's why I'm
gonna really hang my hat. If you don't do that,
you see, if he can at least get out of that.
And if you can't find you got the bats, Like
you said, they scored again.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
So he wasn't exactly you scored again.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
The lost Yeah, scored again. But you know, revision is history. Fine,
but this is what we have to talk about, because
this is what happened. It's as simple as that. Just
like what's happening right now. Ice Cube is doing pre
game for the Dodgers World Series rapping. He entered from
the center field wall. He walked all the way to
home plate rapping, Like I thought he was just gonna
come out on the warning track. He said, Nah, I'm milk,
(11:20):
I'm milking this right here. But game two set up tonight, man,
what do you what do you see tonight? Well, these
two guys, you think the Dodgers could get more hits today?
Last night, man, they were silent for a while.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
I mean, this game is gonna come down to Yama Moto.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Yeah, that's what it. Boiler, turn the game into Yama Moto.
How many innings does he give? The Dodgers got a
chance to win that game yesterday? In my opinion, because
Jack Flaherty pitched longer than I thought he would have.
I mean, for him to even get to that fifth ending,
to me, was impressive. How many the Union from Mama
Moto tonight? At least five? At least five?
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Okay, I think six.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Well, I'm saying that's the minimum is five. Okay, you
get six, that's on top of the sun. All right?
Speaker 4 (11:58):
No, well, no, to me, six is the bottom. Five
is not gonna get it done. The Yankees are just
gonna They're gonna hit late in this game. They did
it last night, and they did it early. They got
quiet at one point and then you know, Juan Soto
touches one, goes deep. They had a few Warner tracks
who I'm sorry I missed too. The guy was last
night that hit the ball where the fan reached out
and grabbed it. I mean that that could have easily
(12:19):
been another home run there. They were touching the ball
as that game went on. Man, But I mean tonight
the pitching, I think Yama Modo he's got it. I
need six solid out of him, and the Dodgers' bats
have got to wake up show. He had a good
hit last night and ended up turning. That was an
air too, right, his double that was turned.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Into a triple? No, that was that was actually a triple.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Now how see now I'm confused, all right, yeah, confused man?
Speaker 2 (12:46):
You know why too. It's a it's a battle going
down here in South Florida. Okay, this this is oh
that is concerning. It is a battle going on in
South Florida. We got l s U Texas A and
m Yama Moto just took the mound to start down
out here we go bag Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
We are all over the place.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Coming up next though, this top five contender in college
football escapes again. Lucky Son's a gun. Thanks to wrapping radios,

Speaker 2 (13:48):
On second, Juan Soden moves him over to first base.
Aaron Judge now up in the top of the first
inning for the New York Yankees. Judge not been impressio
so far this postseason. Are at least yeah, in my opinion,
what I just saw home run? I'm Martin, go ahead, No.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
I'm sorry, Yeah, it's just not on the Yekes pitching
tonight like the bats like he's last night yesterday. You
and I filled in on that a couple. What was
one of our topics? Who's this bigger for Aaron Judge
or show? Hey, Aaron Judge, he does got to show
even though I think it is bigger for show. Hey,
but Aaron Judge does have to show up. You can't
just lean on everybody else. You're the big dog, you
make the most money.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
You're the big hitter. What fifty eight home runs this year,
one hundred and forty four RBI something like that. I
don't know if I had the number down to that.
I'm only off one or two on both of those.
But you know, you are an adult you're probably gonna
win al MVP. You gotta show up in the damn
World series.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
So we are Martin Wise and that is Big Vanilla
Funny imploring Aaron Judge to please will you show up
for tall, light skinned folks? Yeah, real tall represent for
the Vanilla Brothers out here. Man, that's putting it in
work and not just getting paid a bunch of money
and not showing up. We're coming to you a lot
at the tiraq dot com studios. If you want to
join the conversation, please please do so. We are on Twitter.
(15:00):
I'm at Martin Wise, VJ at Big Vanilla Funny. We'll
get to your tweets throughout the show. Hammer and Hank
I was gonna.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Say, is Hammer and Hank already blowing us up? Go
for it if you have it up. Yeah, I got
a bunch of them up right now.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
But I'll read this right here at Big Vanilla Funny
Martin Whites, Fox Sports Radio. I know that the Warriors
humiliated both Jackson and Blazers in their first two recuing
with these games, do you think they could keep their
momentum going? That's actually a good question because this is
probably gonna be my last year Hammer Hank could probably
holding up some type of hope that Steph can get,
ringing them a five if it doesn't happen this year, Steph.
Like I said last year, Steph lebron kd that era
(15:34):
of guys, I think they're done winning championships unless they
go stack another team next year or something like that.
But currently constructed where they all are, I think those
teams are done winning championships. So yeah, I think they
got a shot this year man, but we'll see.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Well.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Also, so I think the Warriors. I think the Warriors
got better. It was just noisy moving on from Clay
playing Draymond a little less.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Those they see him the other night, see Clay the
other night.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
But I do think that if nothing sometimes the impact
and imprint that a man has on a space, you
remove him from that space, everybody else is able to
kind of like readjust and get back into the flow
of things. I think that's what we'll play. It's no
hard feelings, I don't think, well, maybe on the play
side of things, but I don't think it's any hard
films with he and Steph. But I think that marriage
(16:22):
needed to go ahead and break up. YEP.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
It did, but it feels like, you know, like we
talked about with quarterbacks, right, and even in life, I
use a life analogy. Sometimes in relationships, the breakup is fine, Yeah,
it hurts yet sucks. Yeah, you got memories. You gotta
remember all the good times. But once you both break up,
once you move it to your new place. So you
guys go your own separate ways. You give it some time,
you'll realize it was the right thing for everybody. You
(16:44):
don't have to be mad, you don't have to be angry.
You can still be cordial, it can still be cool.
But it needed to happen, and the Warriors and Klay
Thompson needed to happen. I was leaning more towards martins
Way last year that I thought it should have been
maybe Draymond, you take out of there that boat pad. Yeah,
at the end of the day, he is He is
(17:06):
a facilitator and a really good defender, guys, for all
the other crap he does.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
And Klay's a shooter.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
He can't defend at the high level he used to
because of a two lower extremity career altering injuries that
he had, and then he I mean, he couldn't hit
the boat. I mean, he couldn't hit the water if
he fell out of a boat, like, he couldn't shoot it.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Just it wasn't going in In the name of the
game is defense and scoring points, and he really couldn't
do either one.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
So that's why they had to have the breakup. But
I'm hoping it works out for both of them. Interesting
to see how things fit for him with Dallas. But
he was he was lights out the other night. Yeah,
I expect him to fit in lovely. I really do
you want to take a ride around some of this
college football? Yeah, the three team in the nation. I
think we are ripe for some upsets. Yes, this evening
(17:48):
Penn State Wisconsin a four point game. Now Penn State
only scored a touchdown. They've had some noise around their program.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
James Franklin doing a like a whole three sixty to
avoid answer in questions.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
I don't know if you saw that. That was a
terrible way to avoid a terrible way.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
I see that. Yeah, I know I did see that,
so but no, you see that type of situation. You
got Miami Florida playing the Florida State, Florida State, and
that you obviously know the you know, one of the
big college football rivalries historically. You know what they say
about those rivalries. Throw the records out, the.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
Records you kind of want to if you're Florida State, Florida,
but you throw it out.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
But here's the thing though, if you are Florida State,
this is one thing in a lost season that you're like,
you're in the locker room right now, Microll is the
locker room. Now, look, I.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Know where we are. We can go out and ruin them.
And if we go ruin them, it will throw them
into a tailspin. Right That's where you are. If you're
a team like Florida State, if you're a team like Michigan.
Some of these teams that were atop the college football
landscape just last year and now our middling teams Florida
State and objectly bad team right now, right, they go
(19:00):
out there and beat Miami Florida.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Guess what Drake's flowing.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
To tall last.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
And not only that, when you sent recruits living rooms
who are deciding between you and Miami, or Miami and.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Florida State, you could say, hey, we beat them.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
It's the same growing up Martin and I grew up
in the game, like we grew up in the era
of the game. If you guys don't know what it is,
google it, look it up. That's used in so many
terms as far as recruiting some of my biggest and
favorite Michigan wins. Our years where Michigan already had two
or three losses and Ohio State was undefeated or had
one loss. One year, I could think about as when
they went up to the Horseshoe and Tye Streets, Brian
(19:33):
Greasy finds ty Streets on a slant on a chili
blistering cold day, ended up being the game's only touchdown.
Michigan wins thirteen to nine and beats number one Ohio State.
I think Michigan might have been ringing twenty two or
twenty third that year, but it's set up for Michigan
to come back the following year and go undefeated and
win the national championship.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
So this could be this for Florida State.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
It's only fourteen seven right now, second quarter, almost headed
into the half, and Miami trying to flean this thing around,
trying to get tied the red zone and put some
points on the board before they get out of.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
For the half.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
But like you said, robbery games man, I mean we're
looking at LSU Texas A and m down to college
station another tite one ten to seven.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
It started a second quarter.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
So VJ. If you look called the Twitter timeline, you'll
see several different places that are posed Cam Moore number
one quarterback.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
When you watch the games, do you see the same thing.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Number one quarterback as far as getting drafted or no,
I'll talk about one dot one first overall pick no
going to ball.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Okay, now now the second ones? Oh no, no, no, no, first
quarterback off the board.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
No that Shadeer Sanders, I don't see it easy. Yeah,
Shadeer centers is better. Shadeer centers is better.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
Guys like it's it is what it is as watching
camp Wore get sacked right now and pushing them possibly
out of field goal range before the half brings up
third down, thirty two seconds left. Shadure Sanders just had
to do one thing I've been saying all last year
and this year.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
He's got much better at it.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
When you were in trouble, our freshman quarterback at Birmingham
High School, DK does the exact same thing. When you
were in trouble. The last thing you can do is retreat.
Don't retreat. When you retreat, you were giving up yards
right there.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
If anything, if.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
You don't think you're gonna scape, throw the ball away
or just go down, don't retreat, and should do. He
has done a magnificent job at that. When I watch
cam ward And it's not this is not a knock,
it's just a comparison. And if you just use your
open mind in football, you'll see what I'm saying. He's
a bigger Kyler Murray, a bigger slower Kyler Murray to me,
and that means that number one, he's not as fast
(21:25):
as Kyler Murray. So boat Commerce got him there. And
I don't think he has his arm strength, but he
just kind of reminds me of him with the way
he plays, the way he sees defense, in the way
he throws the football. That that'll get you paid, you
know in the NFL, that'll get you drafted high. That
don't get you paid, But how much success will you
truly have with that as your career goes on. That's
what I think about when I see cam Warden And
(21:46):
also said kid has been in college for a while
and had to transfer a few years, is he like
is he Jayden Daniels? Does he show up and start
five and two next year? Jayden can look like he
can go six and two tomorrow. I don't think he's
that guy. I can see him falling out of the
top ten.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Martin.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
I don't think there depends on what on with team
they quarterbacks, but everybody's almost got their guys, especially after
last year's draft, right.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
I easily see him falling out of the top ten
without a doubt. And honestly, if Miami losed this game
because he the team fall out of the top ten.
But for the score on this game and everything else
going on, including the World Series, Steve, I just got
a text for my buddy in New York, he says,
shaking my head. He just struck out again, Steve the Seger,
everything going on, Steve, he struck out again.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
Talking about Aaron Judge. I know they got a lead
off walk, the Yankees did in the top of the first,
and then the next three batters were retired. They stranded
the runner at second place. There was a second base,
there was a fielders choice in there at scoreless Yankees
at Dodgers, bottom of the first, one out, single for
LA's mookie bets against Carlos Rodan sixteen to nine regular
season the LA starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto seven and two in
(22:49):
the regular season. But keep in mind Yamamoto missed almost
three months this summer due to his shoulder injury. He
didn't return until about a month and a half ago,
and in all the games he's pitched since he returned,
he has not gone more than five innings. He has
not thrown eighty pitches in a start. He was throwing
about one hundred pitches regularly until the injury scoreless bottom
of the first Game two of the World Series on
(23:10):
Fox TV. Dodger lefty reliever Alex Vesia has returned this
series from injury, as did right handed pitcher Bruce dork
Graderol who had another shoulder injury before but got into
last night's game. Right handed pitcher Evan Phillips, former Dodger closer,
is out this series with an arm injury. He in
the playoffs had six and two third scoreless innings. Pitch
(23:31):
Dodger shortstop Miguel Rojas's back from injury did not play
Game one, is starting tonight. He's going to needgroin surgery
after the offseason. Pitcher Nester Cortes, of course, just back
from the injuryless for the Yankees. You mentioned this as
a reliever only in this series, but they activated and
they used him in the tenth inning after he'd been
out five weeks with a strained elbow. He took the
(23:51):
loss in Game one. Game three is Monday Nights at
Yankee Stadium. LA's Walker Bueller will starts against New York
pitcher Clark Schmid for LA, likely an all bullpen Game four.
In fact, the Yankees will be hosting Monday, Tuesday, NF
necessary Wednesday nights, all at eight pm Eastern time on
Fox TV. Sad note from the NFL is longtime Browns
announcer Jim Donovan died at the age of sixty eight.
(24:14):
Cleveland playing this weekend, hosting Baltimore Tomorrow. Quarterback Dorian Thompson
Robinson will be the backup Sunday after a finger injury,
Jamis Winston will start. Giants Punter Jamie Gillen out again
with a hamstring injury. That's Monday Night Giants at Pittsburgh.
The Jets activated formerly linebacker Hassan Reddick, who had held
out Dolphins quarterback to A Tongua Bai Loa was activated.
(24:34):
He had cleared concussion protocol. Running Back for the Panthers,
Jonathan Brooks is still out this weekend with his knee injury.
The Cowboys elevated running back Dalvin Cook from their practice
squad at the World Series. Scoreless through one going to
the second inning at Dodger Stadium and three seconds to
go in the first half. At sixth rank Miami, it's
the Hurricanes fourteen to seven over a Florida State team
(24:55):
that has one and six this year. Cam Ward one
hundred and thirty one yards passing right now for the Canes.
Third rank Penn State leads in the second quarter seven
to three at Wisconsin. LSU had had ten to seven
at Texas A and m early second quarter, Kansas late
first quarter leads at number sixteen Kansas State seven nothing,
and it's Duke over number twenty two SMU seven nothing
(25:17):
late in the first quarter. Among the other games on
FS one, late first half, it's West Virginia leading at
Arizona seventeen to seven halftime. Utah tied at Houston seven
to seven. Among the many earlier games victories for Oregon,
Ohio State and number five Texas which won at number
twenty five Vanderbilt twenty seven, twenty four.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Back to you, thanks Steve, Martin and VJ coming to
you live at the Tireck dot Com studios, Martin wife's
VJA husky watching Miami attempt a twenty our field goal
at a weird angle. Those type of field goals scare me.
Like when it's twenty yard field goal, fifteen yard field goal,
it's like, man, you gotta really hit that thing to
the side.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
I think it's time actually for the hash marks to
be You moved back in quick, soobar Steve, you hear
me right. I wanted to tell you, man, give you props.
I listened to you yesterday. It's my first time ever
listening to hearing you do radio instead of just the updates.
You were great yesterday. Man, it was a real It
was a real good listen. But it's like all the
information you have now to hear it over a three
hour span, four hour span, not real talk. I was like, Oh,
(26:17):
the saying is doing radio tonight. Let me turn this
on now. You did a great job. I wanted to
give you your props, man.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
Just for the record. The updates are on the radio. Yeah,
we've done radio before, all three of us here, but yeah,
it was a blast. Somebody the guy effected was Kevin Figures,
who who came into anchor right after me. He said,
of all nights to be co host, I said.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yeah, right, I know right.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
It was just yes, especially last night. But not a
great job last night. It was a really good listen.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
Thank you. The night flew by.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
It was sure, I'm sure it did, especially have to
watch it. Freddie Freeman man that that World Series game,
I'm instant classic. I'll go ahead and sing.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Last night was list sports wise, last night was list
It was a.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
Great game, even before the final swing. I mean just
the second half of that game, all the stuff that
was taking place, and for the Yankees to have both
their starting second basement miss one and their backup second
baseman who was the quote defensive replacement miss one late.
Just the little things how the Yankees haven't been sharp
on defense really cost him an otherwise winnable game last night.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Which what did you think of Nesta Quartez coming out
of the bullpen.
Speaker 5 (27:14):
I was a little astounded, actually, I was shot. There
are no minor league games, right, now, well, he hasn't
had a week at Triple A to try and hone
the craft, and the Dodgers had been hitting from the
very beginning, it was noted on the telecast, had been
hitting first pitches a lot. He tries to sneak a
fast ball by Freeman first pitch, and I guess the
ankle's good enough because he can actually plant his feet
(27:34):
in the box and hit it. He'd had no extra
base hits the whole postseason this month until last night.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Until last night, well, yeah, that was the problem.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
See, he ran so fast on the first double that
turned into it turned into that when he got back
up there, he's like, look, I can't run at a job.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Go ahead, just put this one in the stands. Yeah,
also real fast too. Something else out on airlight last night.
Number one in the nation Modern Day against number two
in the nation, Bosco forty Who.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
To the half Modern Day? Hello, I've been telenaddose Bosco
Cos all year long.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
You're not close to modern data, Hue, You're still right high.
You're not close to modern data.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
There was that high school game. There was the East
LA High School game, which I think it was at
the Rams Stadium. Concerts obviously La last night Lakers home
game Downtown Dodgers were home to USC right after on
Fox the local Landel. By the way, did you notice
the guy who started last night's game for the Yankees,
Garrett Cole from Orange County and the guy who finished
(28:34):
last night's game, Freddie Freeman from Orange County. They're both
from the city of Orange, right across the freeway from
the Angel Stadium at Anaheim, three miles apart. Their high schools.
One went to the public school, one went to the
private school. And we had the Dodger starter, Jack Flaherty
last night giving up a home run to Jincarlo Stanton.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
From right out here.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
Sherman fl little league won a mile away at high
school at Notre Dame.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
I didn't know that he's Sherman Oaks literally, and they.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
Went to Harvard Westlake High School.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Harvard Westlakes had a lot of pros and a munch
of different sports. That's a good place.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
They had three pictures at the same time that made
the major leagues, Gilito and Ulsa, Max Freed and Flaherty.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
Yeah, so I tell you you know what the other
thing to you about yesterday?
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Did you all saw the massive reports of oh my gosh,
it's traffic with armageddon, like you'll never y Yeah, yeah,
I got home yesterday faster than any other day of
the week.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
I told you yesterday, bro, I was I was full
loading down the one on one and I thought about it,
and I'm like, why is this so like I didn't
touch the brakes.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
I thought about it. Everybody's at the game. Everybody's at
the games. No one was getting scared.
Speaker 7 (29:41):
Everyone off the roads, so they didn't end up actually seeing.
Speaker 5 (29:43):
What actually happened during the nineteen eighty four Olympics is
they said two weeks you won't be able to go anywhere.
It was some of the best driving those adults had
ever had.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
And also too, it's funny that all the local newsplays
well like usc is playing.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
I saw the pictures from the coliseum.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
My first thought was I should try to get a
nosebleed seat because I could sit right at.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
The fifty yards move last night.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
By the time you left at Her, by the time
we left at Her, everyone was stationary. We're never going
to be sports bars like there was no traffic nowhere
last night.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
So that's the trick to la everybody's like, how do
you know, how do you deal with the traffic?
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Well, I just don't go anywhere from seven to nine
and then from four to six every time.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Else I just get in the car and ride works
most of the time. Great night out here in La
last night. Are the Eagles uh playhosts?
Speaker 2 (30:29):
I mean the Cincinni Bengals play host the game to
the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
These are two teams.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
The Eagles have a very unique strata, a very unique
way about them to have a winning record but still
feel like the sky is falling to think about it,
like think about question ways typed out with that year
the Eagles eight and one, nine and one, and I'm
sitting I was telling you, I'm saying on the way
to getting to the tendant, Marn, I'm saying, look, the
sky is falling. This is not sustainable. Like it's felt
(30:58):
that way that whole time, and now even now with
their success. Is the conversations that's surround Philadelphia feel like
they should be similar to the conversations that currently surround Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
What are our issues? How do we get better?
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Even though Philadelphia on the paper, on paper has a
much better record, Which one of these teams do you
think has the better chance of achieving the goals that
they set out to at the beginning of the season,
because this ain't turning around. The Eagles already have a
winning record. Cincinnati has to turn around. Yeah, Philly, Philly
has a better chance. I just think Philly has a
better team right now. There's only two teams right now
(31:33):
guys ranked in the top ten in the offense and defense.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
Anybody want to take a guess, I know, Philadelphia Eagles.
Philadelphia is one of them. The other one Kansas City Chiefs. Surprise, surprise,
two time reigning Super Bowl champions, surprise. Right, they're good
on both sides.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Of the ball.
Speaker 7 (31:47):
If you're paying coordinators like that, you'd better be good
at both.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
Absolutely do not much.
Speaker 7 (31:52):
To do with it, does he?
Speaker 4 (31:53):
I mean he listened. The head guy's gonna get the blame,
so we gotta give him some of the cheer too.
But I think the Eagles are set more. I just
Dallas looks like they're.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Falling apart in the Giants stink okay, and Jayden Daniels's
rib now is a major rib. That's the most important
rib in the NFL in my opinion. As we currently
stand right now, am my lion.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
It's the most important rib and the National Football League
is the one that's on the left side.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
I believe it is of Jade and Daniels.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
So it's really prime for Philly to kind of take
this thing back. Washington loses tomorrow, they win, they're back
in first place, and it just seems like all is
right right, all is correct in the NFC. Cincinnati they
just have too many defensive issues, twenty second rate defense.
I know they've had guys out. Everybody's had guys out,
so I don't want to hear that. I understand it.
But at the end of the day, it just is
(32:39):
what it is in that division. No one saw Pittsburgh
coming like this this year. Guys, they're sitting at five
and two. And then you have the Baltimore Ravens that
look like world beaters right now. They'll be anybody right now.
So you have the bottom dollers in the Browns, and
the Browns are one to six and they're gonna be
sellers anyway. So who are you fighting through of your
Cincinnati And then if you look at just the AFC,
I think it's harder for them to try to just
(32:59):
get to the playoffs to the a f C, then
it would be for the Eagles to do it in
the NFC.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
The NFC East is uh, there's no fun.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
Washington's gonna come back. So it's a little funny at
Washington's gonna come back. You know, Dallas has got their drama.
I get it. The rookie quarterback. How long is he
gonna be out? I honestly watching that game yesterday. I'm sorry,
last Sunday, I thought that game which Washington. I thought
that Jayden Daniels probably could have played Sunday if it
was a game in which I mean, let's be honest,
(33:30):
if they were playing a worthy opponent. Yeah, they were
playing the Carolina Pans, which I've never really held the
belief that the NFL team could beat.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
I mean, a college team could be the NFL team.
Never never stop style. We're not doing that.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
I'll just say this, Carolina is testing my theory. Who
could beat Carolina? I don't have all time team, none
of these teams currently. Okay, if you told me that
Carolina was playing like the that LSU team that went undefeated,
do you know what I'm saying? I don't know. I
say this I would set the odds undefeated LSU team
(34:08):
plus three and a half and I would be on them.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
I'm just always give it to the grown men. He
is a grown man going against not kids, but young men.
Nineteen eighteen nineteen.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
I get it. Then the question is how many players
on the LSU team turn pro? How many players in
the Carolina Panthers are pro? But I just say, like
the operation is a lot to be desired, all right,
NFL Sunday quickly approaching every game. Every team would like
to win every game. But this is a must win
(34:38):
game for this team. If they don't, season over, Fanito finish,
throw it in the trash.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Martin VJ, Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Come to you a lot from the Tireck dot Com studios.
Martin White's VJ Husky Dodgers leading the Yankees one to nothing,
bottom of the second inning. Steve sec will be all
over that at the top of the hour, stay tuned
to get all the information going on in the world
of sports. Frum Steve including, he'll be all over He'll
be all over the World Series. But VJ, you say, look,
(35:12):
every team wants to win. Yeah, everybody wants to win. Yep,
all right, everybody. You know what I'm saying. No, they
go into the game and think, man, I really gotta
get this one, but not every team has to win.
If they don't win, it's over with Fano finished through
it in the trash. DJ.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
You say, these few teams have are at that status. Yes, sir,
So let's start real quick. Man. Let me give you
some NFL Musiclet'll get some good NFL music.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
There we go.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
All right, these are three games, these are three teams,
actually four, These are must win games for these teams
tomorrow are great super producer mister Ian Rowdy, who's in here.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
We were talking in earlier.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
He's a big fan of them bum ass jetson we
talked about this game the wrong. This game is big
for them bum ass Jets. They're on the road at
one in six New England. If they lose this game and.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
Go to two and six, this thing is over. Because
after this game they have the Texans.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
They're at the Cards home against the Coach, home against Seattle,
and then at my Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
This thing could be looking at two and eight, two
and nine. This thing could be getting ugly real fast.
You don't made all the moves for Aaron Rodgers. You
then brought in all his friends that he wanted to
bring in. Daniel Hackett was there and calling offensive blazer
or assist the offensive players, a quarterback or whatever damn
title they gave him. It's not working there. This is huge.
They cannot go to New England and lose to the
(36:27):
second worst team in football. Tomorrow. They are a seven
point favorite to get this dub They gotta get this
game or they're done.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Tomorrow another game both these teams.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
This is a must win for both for separate reasons,
the Niners and Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
Tomorrow is a must win game for both of these teams.
Martin and I were just talking about the Philadelphia Eagles
last segment. I think that they're gonna catch up and
get to first place. I don't think Washington falls off.
I just think that they just come a little back
to the pack. The most important rib in the NFL
belongs to Jayden there. That's gonna be very important for
them moving forward. The Cowboys are sitting in three and three,
(37:05):
but after this they have at Atlanta Philly, the Texans,
at Washington, the GM Man and they finished at Philly
and home against Washington. They've got to get this game
tomorrow and not fall below five hundred and go to
four losses. They will be in trouble of missing the
playoffs moving forward. And on the Niner side, they're sitting
at three and four right now, and then it's starting
(37:26):
to show that the Super Bowl hangover for the loser.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
It's a real thing.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Guys.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Only two teams that have lost the Super Bowl in
the last thirty plus years have gotten back to the
Super Bowl, as the New England Patriots and.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Those old Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
That kept doing the year after year after year after year.
Four times they lost to the Super Bowl. Three times
they got back. The fourth time they never got back
again since then. This is a huge win game for
the Niners because after this they have the Bucks Seattle
to pack at Buffalo and the Bear surprisingly big game
for them tomorrow against Set Commanders and where they would
be tough in that division also and then might be
(37:58):
love it Miami offense. This is a must win for
the Dolphins tomorrow. Oosa is back, the offense should come alive.
They have the number four rate defense in the NFL,
but guess how many rushes touchdowns they have to share three.
Guess how many passing touchdouts they have to share three?
That is horrific to what I'm not calling him the savior,
but this is why.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
They do pay you the money. Oo's yeat.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
This is why they give you the money. This is
why they give you to see on your jersey.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yeat. You gotta go get this one.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
This is huge cause if Buffalo goes to see I
don't get to win. That creates a three and a
half game lead, and they're gonna win the division. You're
not catching them. They lose and then we win.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Guess what.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
Guess who the Dolphins play the following week at the
Buffalo Bills, then at the Rams, the Pats, at the Packers,
and then of course them bum ass Jets. They've got
to get four out of those next five. They can
get out of this that gets them the six and five.
They'll be fine. Honorable mentioned game. Surprisingly, also, Marian, the
Bears in Washington tomorrow to me could be a must
win game. More for the Bears. That division is a
(38:57):
lot tougher than we thought it was gonna be. Minnesota
five two, Packers five and two, Detroit five and one.
You don't want to fall to four losses already. You
don't want to get the three losses. And they also
have Tennessee to Texas coach Rams Carolina and the Jazz
coming up. Then schedule gets a little easier form, but
you definitely do not want to fall off.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Something else.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
I point out about the Bears for people that a
love in them, their win totals this year against the
teams they beat the opposite win tolls of oo the team.
Those teams are eleven and twenty four. They haven't beaten nobody.
Tomorrow they get a chance to do so. If they don't,
I think they can risk even with a five hundred
record or better, being fourth in that conference and not
making the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
They gotta get this one tomorrow against Washington.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Yeah, I mean I think well, I think Minnesota is
a team that will likely fall down the rankings in
the NFC North. But I mean both the Lions and
the Packers seem to be well. The Lions for sure
large tank. The Packers will see how they are able
to continue their stretch. Jordan Lovely throwing a lot of interceptions,
figure of a lot of interceptions had three against the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Is that a sign of things to come. Martin and VJ.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
I'm not saying that it's automatically going to be an upset,
but we just saw the type of play that begins
splints the seeds for an upset. Martin Wiss VJ Husky
on Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Football Saturday broadcasting live
from the tire iraq dot com studios. Tire rack dot
com will help you to get there with an automax election,
fast free shipping freewood as a protection, and over ten
(40:28):
thousand recommending this dollars tire iraq dot com. It's the
way tire buying should be. All Penn State and Wisconsin.
Wisconsin had a fourth in goal, does not complete an
incomplete pass. Penn State, twelve players on the field, very
next play one yard rush for the Wisconsin Badgers, now
kick them. Now have a nine to seven league with
(40:51):
the extra point pending with a minute and twenty three
seconds left going into the half. That's the type of play.
I'm not saying that it makes an upset automatic, but
when they look back at how did this ranked team
lose this game? That's the moment details. That's the type
of moment you look back at.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
Details.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
Man, details are so big in the sport of football,
and they're the difference in winning and losing. And at
this point you just can't make silly small mistakes like
Michigan missing an extra point they scored.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
They mixed the extra.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
Point the ten.
Speaker 4 (41:19):
They're nine to seven going into the half against Little Brother,
but it should be ten seven like that. If you
lose by one point there it is, or if it's
tied going into late in the fourth quarter, you end
up going in the overtime and losing. Well, you would
have been up a point if you'd have made the
extra point. You know, just little small details in the
game of football, but just great stuff around the horn.
To night, the Dodgers and Yankees, bottom of the Third
World Series, Game two. They're tied at one one. Salt
(41:42):
goes deep again. We can see some fireworks tonight. I
don't know how many runs. I wasn't a far off
last night too, Remember I called six, five, six to three.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
I went too far off last night. I think we
probably could get the.
Speaker 4 (41:52):
Like six or seven tonight two if these bats warm
up and get hot. But twelve men on the field markin.
That's one of those things that's just inexcusable because at
this level you have code names for like what group
is supposed to be out there, like Cheetah or panther
our mo. Like when we yell mamba on the sideline,
there's certain guys.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
There's eleven guys that know.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
They gotta go on the field because we just yelled mamba.
Like we've practiced this.
Speaker 3 (42:14):
So when there's a twelfth guy out there, what the
hell are you doing? What are you doing out there?
I thought, I guarantee you said, I thought they called.
Speaker 4 (42:21):
Yeah, you thought. We don't coach you to fake. We
coach you to do it we actually to do, and
you do what we actually to do, man, and everything
is gonna be just Finn. Stop thinking so much that
you know more than the coaches. And that's the situation.
So Wisconsin, once twenty three left in the second quarter
up at home against undefeated Penn State.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
Is this the game?
Speaker 5 (42:38):
Man?
Speaker 4 (42:38):
That is this the game that that Franklin comes back,
Eddy comes back to Earth.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
It's about that time of the year.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Pumpskins spice lattes arout Penn State lose the game that
they need to win. It's about that time of the
year for James Franklin right now. Wisconsin is not normally
the caliber team to losers to. But Luke Fickles a
hell of a head coach. Yes, they got up there
at Camp Randall.
Speaker 4 (43:01):
Yes he is. He is definitely a hell of a
football coach. But we talked to Sean King yesterday, former
all over quarterback. He was all over this former NFL quarterback.
He was filling in on the couple yesterday he was
all over this one too? Did this BYU? Did he
have b YU also too? Did he have them covering
over Central Florida? I thought about him other way around.
They got smashed Central Florida did yeah, BYU put it
(43:23):
on him?
Speaker 2 (43:23):
You know, unfortunate by you put it on him BYU
versus UCF didn't. It wasn't It wasn't my top page
I signed on this morning. I know I had it.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
I had the four block on both my TVs today
because the game, like you said, the early I don't
call him snooze fans because it's football. I still love
football's college football, still love contact, the whole ordeal of
the support of football.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
So I'm still gonna watch it, but there wasn't any
Old Wilse I thought Missouri might have had a shot
today until they hit the field.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
Until they hit the field, well until until about the
end of the first quarter. Going into the second quarter.
Speaker 4 (43:56):
You can see Bama just said, okay, how about we
just get it to the players that are just better
than their players and let's see what happens.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
And that's what they started to do. Also too, I.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
Thought Navy might have had a shot today too, but
Notre Dame showed up and put it into that really fast.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
So normally this game is a marquee match, a big
time matchup, you know, huge implications when we see these
two teams play. Not so much this year. Like I
said yesterday, two to fifteen dollars bags a mid between
the Cowboys and you need to wear down on a
T shirt. That's a little wordy for a shirt, but
I feel I understand the general and tend to agree.
(44:31):
But the Cowboys in the forty nine ers this game.
It could end up having playoff implications down the line,
but right now, I think the most important playoff implication
that will have the loser of this is essentially eliminated
from like or not It's gonna be must win for
me for both these teams. Really yeah, it will be
a pretipitous climb for the team that loses this game
(44:53):
to try to either get the division or make the wildcard.
Quite honestly, this in this NFC, which is a little
bit better than people expected. With VJ, you had an
opinion on this game that necessarily is not necessarily tied
to the wins and the losses.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
No, it's not.
Speaker 4 (45:06):
It's about Brock Party. And this isn't just banging on
Brock Prairie. This is just kind of looking over history
and seeing once again super Bowl hangover. Guys, right, We've
seen it with the Bengals, also with Joe Burrow. They
got back to a conference championship game and lost. But
it's it's just been backwards since then, whether all be
it by injury or the Ravens getting really good at
Pittsburgh being consistent, and then the Browns coming out of
(45:26):
nowhere last year.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
They're just stepping back.
Speaker 4 (45:28):
I looked at something, and I had a little help
with this one, but I kind of put my own
little sauce on it. The first twenty seven games, I
went back and I looked at for Colin Kaepernick, for
Jimmy Garoppolo, and for Brock Purty, the last three main
big starting quarterbacks for the San Francisco forty nine ers.
This is just really ironic. Colin Kaepernick's first twenty seven games,
he was twenty six and one all right, forty five
(45:52):
touchdowns thirty three to air, but forty five total, fourteen interceptions,
sixty two percent completion percentage, and averaged two to seventy
six per game. In the Super Bowl when he finally
got there, a late fourth quarter Super Bowl throw that
he's laid on it's the last play of the game
to Crap Tree, but he's late on that throw.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
Crap Tree's open, he's late on it. They never get back.
It's not the same Again. He finishes at thirty seven
and thirty one and one as their starter, so things
start to go a little backwards. Same twenty seven games
for Jimmy Garoppolo. You know what his record was.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
He was twenty one and six, thirty eight and seventeen
as far as I'm sorry, excuse me, forty and twenty
four as far as touchdown, the interceptions, two forty six
per sixty seven percent completion percentage. Since then after that
he went seventeen and eleven, and then he was injured
a bunch of times. He also, if you remember it
against the Rams, what do you do, guys, he missed
a late super ball throw to an open receiver that
(46:44):
probably would have won that football game. They go backwards
from them. He's no longer there. Brock Perty's first twenty
seven games. You know where his record is. He's twenty
one and six, ironic right, two forty eight per sixty
seven percent completion percentage, forty five and fifteen touchdowns to interception.
He missed two fourth quarter Super Bowl throws, once on
(47:04):
open Deebo Samuel for touchdown.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
You go, look at this year. I understand Christian McCaffrey
is out, but it's it is starting to go backwards
for the San Francisco forty nine ers at brock Perty,
and you're going forward right now for the Los Angeles
Taioscar Hernandez just hit a two run home run, third
home run of the postseason off of Carlos Frondon, which
is tough because he had just gotten ol Tani out, yes, yes,
(47:30):
like he had gotten Otani out and won a betch
at Freeman out like.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
You don't oncekar Hernanda is out of the lineup.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
There's not a lot of power, you know what I'm saying,
not really expecting the Gavin Luxe's and Tommy Edmonds and
so on and so over to go ahead and beat
you in this right line up Taoskcar Hernanda did a
little thing called the home run derby this year. He's
got power.
Speaker 4 (47:47):
Yeah, not only that, this is opposite field power right here,
This is opposite feel out to our right center field,
and this is a moonshot. This thing clears the bleachers.
It's deep into the bleachers. And now three to one.
I told you we can see some fireworks tonight. I
just kind of feel that these bats are these lineups
are too good Martin for us to see a one
to one game late into.
Speaker 3 (48:07):
The games like that happened last night.
Speaker 4 (48:09):
Fine, I think the bats are gonna warm up all
the All the jitters are gone, the butterflies are gone.
If you're not locked in and relaxing, ready to play now,
then you should just go sit and get your ticket.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
Get you a couple of Dodger dolls. Could you want them?
Speaker 4 (48:20):
Big ass beers with the spicy powder around the rim.
I don't know if those are watch a lot of
these are whatever they call it. Get you one of
those to go sit in the stands. You're not ready
to play here. So I think a lot of firepower
coming in the series. But back to the Niners in
Brock party, it's.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
Not his fault. They're they're this bad.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
It's just kind of how this goes for say the game, Freddy's.
Speaker 4 (48:42):
Yeah, now, Freddy ah wow? Well, I mean why not, right,
why not put them in a clean up spot after
last night? But what's happening with them is not solely
on Brock just ironic. You know, the first twenty seven
games goes pretty well for San Francisco Quarterbacks. They get
to the super Bowl, they don't finish these games and
things start to go the opposite way. Any any thought,
(49:02):
Martin to you that this Christian McCaffrey injury is a
lot deeper and worse than they're telling us.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
I don't well, I mean they don't have to tell us.
Is that I mean Achilles ten to night is he's
been gone. He's that's that's bad enough. Ian.
Speaker 4 (49:15):
You said something a few weeks ago where you you
think you think this could be like long lingering the season,
if not for the year.
Speaker 7 (49:23):
Yeah, I mean I don't I don't know if it'll
if it'll keep him out the year just because they
meet him so bad.
Speaker 4 (49:27):
If they lose the next two games, but they go
to three and they go to three and six.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
Oh okay, smacks a home run? Yeah, back to back, Yeah,
all right, we're gonna to talk about baseball. Back to back. Yes,
this conversations over Freddie Freeman. Thank you, Freddie Freeman. The
second home run of the postseason. Second obviously in two days.
Three I'm sorry, three run lead for the Dodgers. Now
on the bottom of the third inning. I was just
about to say that Limb's gone well. I mean, like
(49:54):
I told Steve in the first hour of the show,
and Steve to bad, Limbs gone too bad.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
He said, I'm not running these bases.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
I'm walking these bases, said, I'm walking these base But
this is what this goes back to show you why
you had to win Game one, New York. That's right
here is why. Because he's got the top of the
Dodger lineup, has mad power, and they have great players
one through four. Hard to find a better in Major
(50:24):
League Baseball now Obviously, Yankees one through four ain't none
to shake a stick at.
Speaker 6 (50:28):
No.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
But this right here is different.
Speaker 3 (50:29):
This is different.
Speaker 4 (50:30):
This is because they have they The Yankees one through
four is nothing to shak a stick out. But the
Dodgers they're they're they're guys, these are these are legendary
type guys. These are guys that have you know, they
won They wonder Freeman has a World Series with the
with the Braves. Mook's got a couple already, like they
got guys that have won championships. The only guy that's
got them for the Yankees is won Soda with the Nats.
(50:51):
That's the only guy. And it's for Garrett Coley. He's
a picture. But as far as the lineup goes. But
this is what I said about pulling, I'm gonna, I'm gonna.
I'm sorry, I'm gonna beat the dead horse with the
same sticks right on. Pull Cole last night.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
You leave him, man, pull Cole, Leave col In. What
you don't do is get a guy who's had a
month month from which you put him back there in
live action and the biggest leverage moment of the year.
Now would have been a great time to pitch Nestra
quartet down three, now's the time to do it. Now's
the time to do it.
Speaker 3 (51:17):
But no, you know, how about the bottom of the tent?
Speaker 2 (51:19):
Theny? Why? Now? Who cares? Who cares?
Speaker 3 (51:21):
Just the World Series? Thanks a lot, Aaron Boone. Second,
back to back home runs in Dodger's world.
Speaker 4 (51:25):
Serious history. Look at the history that's being made by
this team. This just kind of feels like destiny. I
text that to you guys earlier. I hate playing around
with that word, but it just feels like it.
Speaker 7 (51:35):
Right.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
Well, if his destiny it has to do with Hey,
Aaron Boone, you want to talk about leaving the guy
in all right, don't ro hey, have fun, just get
knocked around as we see a double double out of time. Yeah,
but now that's the third hard hit ball to row.
Maybe go to the mound talk to somebody. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (51:49):
Now this is a blowout tonight. I'm saying it right now.
Speaker 4 (51:52):
Is the bottom of the third because if you go
to the bullpen, what the bullpen is gonna come in
and all of a sudden, cool them, coolest lineup down. No,
this is now the i'm gonn no effect that is
now transferred over from Game one. Here we are in
the third in the bats and the and the Dodger Bats.
They're warming up now, they're starting to warm up, man.
And once that happens with this team, good luck.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
We're all over everything. In the Game two of the
World Series, we will dive in. Coming up next, Chicago
and Washington. Two star rookie quarterbacks of art to say,
at least one star rookie quarterback thus far and Jadon
Daniels Caleb Williams tracking in the right direction. But who
would you rather build around that? Plus Game two coming
up next, Martin Wis VJA Husky Fox Sports Radio. These
(52:35):
two teams didn't have high expectations record wise, but look
at them now. Martin White's VJ Husky coming to you
a lot from the tire rack dot Com studios. Hit
us up on Twitter. I'm at Martin Wis VJs at
Big Vanilla Funny. Shit. I got a couple of mentions here.
Oh you got og a one c win vj Ouiji
boards against Cincinnati. We win, Big Vanilla Funny keep picking
(52:58):
against us, you're winning him.
Speaker 4 (52:59):
Cat dde, stop lying, man, I picked the Ravens against
you all, and y'all loss what are you talking.
Speaker 3 (53:04):
About I've been talking against the spread.
Speaker 7 (53:06):
Na.
Speaker 3 (53:06):
Nah.
Speaker 4 (53:07):
I don't know if they covered. I just know they
lost the game. I don't know about that, man. I'll
read another one from our guy fourteenth A ending said,
we don't want big Vanilla Funny picking Cincinnati. We don't
want your support pick against us. I will pick against you,
and you're gonna lose tomorrow. Okay, I am picking against you.
Philadelphia's gonna beat you, guys tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
You're gonna lose.
Speaker 3 (53:27):
And then you'll tweet me about all the injuries and
all the other excuses that you have for your squad.
I get it.
Speaker 4 (53:32):
I know how you operate now, man, It's all love though,
big Doll. We appreciate we appreciate you, man, But your
Bengals they ain't going nowhere, just like your twenty one
million dollar Ohio State team struggled to beat Nebraska today,
come on, dog and struggled in.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
A way that if Dylan Royola was maybe had a
little bit more experience.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
Oh yeah, and did a loss cancel Christmas hammering, Hank.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
I think Freddie Freeman's walk off Grand Slam home run
will Golf as one of the best finishes in recent
World series history. Henk, I think you're right there. Here's
twenty twenty four roll series prediction. He says the Dodgers
will win it in six.
Speaker 4 (54:06):
Hmm, well, I don't know if I can say is that,
Harry Hank? Still, I don't know if I could take that.
Speaker 1 (54:11):
Hang.
Speaker 3 (54:11):
We're already one game in, man, we did this already yesterday.
We already put our picks.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
Hacksid a professional, he's a fan. He can do anymore.
Speaker 3 (54:17):
You can switch you can switch it up, Hank. We
appreciate you too, brother.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
You know, Hank would pro or something other than talking
on the radio like a blowhard.
Speaker 4 (54:24):
Yeah, Chewy, we always got to talk about my man,
Chewy gon So hold up its Saturday Night LSU face
it off against Texas A and M the Homies at
Martin White's at being a big vanilla funny on the air.
Houston aka screws Thin has showed its support by the way,
I look hell a sleepy right now. And of course
he's posting up a picture with himself and of course
(54:46):
another one of these bottle service. Actually, she looks like
she's in it. Looks like a Halloween part. Looks like
that could be a lowers a lower croft costume tomb Raiders. Right,
it looks like a tomb raider costume. Okay, because it
is Halloween this week.
Speaker 2 (54:59):
So to a Halloween party to night.
Speaker 4 (55:01):
I was at a gas station last night and this
guy walked in with like a bullet hole in his
throat with blood leaking down.
Speaker 2 (55:07):
And I had to do a double take because I thought.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Oh my good, it's crazy.
Speaker 4 (55:10):
I know I didn't get caught in the gas station
and something crazy about to happen.
Speaker 3 (55:13):
And then it had to dawn on me.
Speaker 7 (55:15):
Oh okay, but it's not even Halloween yet. That's just
a super out of pocket thing to be wearing around.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
Oh dude, he had a blood He had like a
bullet and a bloodly going down his chest with his
dress shirt open, and I had to do a double take.
And he had like a little fake gun on him.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
I was like, whoa man, Please don't let me get
caught up in one of these freaky Jason public moments. Man,
I'm just trying to go home, get some chips, and
go home. See for me, I am a big Halloween enthusiast.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
Loved it as a kid.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
Then I got the colleges and I was like, wait
a minute, you can make this more fun. And then
still to this day, this is a tough part. Halloween
Day falls on a Thursday. So now it's how do
you balance which weekend to have the party? Is really
the answer where we're at right now as adults. I
think that if you have the opportunity to do too,
(56:02):
might as well you could do two.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
I would have it. Possibly. I think most parties will
be tonight because you don't want to dress after Halloween.
Speaker 4 (56:09):
It's all if you do it, If you do it
next Saturday, that's actually November, then you just dress it up. Yeah,
these aren't Christmas lights, Okay, we don't leave Christmas lights
up until like March or April, like like VJ does. Okay,
like Halloween ends that day like fourth of July, like
you can't.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
Fourth of July is kind of different.
Speaker 4 (56:26):
Good if it falls in like a Thursday, you still
have all weekends to party and barbecue. You can still
let off fireworks and stuff. But yeah, Halloween is the
one holidays like that day. Even Christmas is extended, right,
you can still take your gift cards and go Christmas shop,
go buy stuff that HANSI gave you. A gift card
with so you're still Christmas shopping. Same thing with things giving,
you're eating things giving food for the next three days
and leftovers. But Halloween is one of those things that, yeah,
(56:50):
you put a costume on November.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
Second, brother, I got a question for you. Nobody celebrates
the fifth of July kind of the same. There you go.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
That's a good one. No one, No one does settle
celebrate the fifth of July. That is true, Caleb Williams
of Jayden Daniels. I think Jayden plays tomorrow, so we're
gonna have this conversation assuming that he does play, but
it's still relevant. Who would you rather build around after
watching the first seven or eight games of their career.
Speaker 4 (57:16):
M that's a good one. I think I would say Jaden.
I think Jayden throws a better deep ball. I think
it's a better peer passer. And then he does give
you that running ability, Caleb, he has escaped ability, but
not he doesn't give you that downfill running ability. Kind
(57:37):
of taller, kind of more of a pocket passer, kind
of a guy. I would probably go at this point
with Jayden Daniels that I would build around.
Speaker 2 (57:44):
I still go with Caleb Honestly, I that Caleb is
my quarterback for number one coming out of the draft.
That's not necessarily a unique opinion. But I think Caleb
is figuring it out. Not that I say that Jayden doesn't.
But like you said, Jayden's elite ability to run, I
think buys him a little bit of a learning curve,
like his learning curves a little accelerated because he's already
(58:04):
elite at one thing in the NFL, and that's being fast, right,
He's got elite speed. Caleb didn't have that. But Caleb
is figuring it out. To me, game by game, I
see him getting better and better and better. And I
would still go with Caleb in THEO thought that Jayden's
injury concerns scare me. He is a very tit He's
a slight man, right, He's like I'm not. You'd love
(58:24):
to see him pick up a little bit of weight.
Like we talked about Lamar Jackson losing weight Lamar Jalen Dan.
Jayden Daniels makes Lamar Jackson look like he plays linebacker.
Speaker 3 (58:34):
Absolutely, you know what I mean. Jackson's a big guy,
He's not a little framed guy.
Speaker 2 (58:39):
Jayden is a very thin framed guy like, he's kind
of built like you know what he's built like, honestly,
is the kid from Alabama, the wide received from Alabama Williams, Right,
that's what Jay Daniels kind of got a similar build
to that. You wouldn't expect that, Like you, we sit
here project Ryan Williams to put on weight over the
next two or three years.
Speaker 3 (59:00):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
That's kind of what we think about when you're projecting
him to the NFL. How it will likely be, you know,
if a first round pick when it's all said and done,
It partly is if he's the same size, he's not
gonna be the prospect that people view him to be.
I'm concerned legitimately about Jayden Daniels' size and that he's
so thin and skinny.
Speaker 4 (59:20):
This game is vicious, man, It's vicious on the body.
I haven't done this yet, but I'm gonna do it now.
And I try, yes, and I tried to stay away
from this. I guarantee you, I bet I bet a
two liter soda right now. You and Ian both agree
with me when I say this. I don't want to
compare him to this guy, but when I watch Jayden Daniels.
He reminds me one hundred percent of Robert Griffin the
(59:42):
third and Robert Griffin the third exploded out of the
box with the Washington at that time. The Redskins correct,
Now the Commanders right, they go ten and six. Remember
the breakaway run. He has to seal the Vikings game, right,
He's bet breakaway up the sideline run seals the Viking game,
gets them a home playoff against Seattle. They don't take
care of the term because I think they have an
(01:00:03):
MLS gamer. They have something going on in the field
leading up to that game. He slips, tears his knee.
He is never the same player again. And now he's
calling games. He's calling well, not anymore, but was just
recently calling college football games for ESPN. You make a
great point about the injury concern because he is slighter built.
That was my one knock of my draft process going
in is I loved everything else about him, but he
(01:00:25):
had already been hurt.
Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
Guys, he got hurt at Arizona State.
Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
He had already been hurt before. This was nothing new.
Speaker 4 (01:00:30):
So the fact that he's now banged up already, it's like, huh.
It's like Richardson Anthony Richardson from the Coats. I love
a lot about you, kid, but the best ability in
sports is what availability?
Speaker 3 (01:00:42):
Are you available to play?
Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
Simple as that I had the same concerns. I'm gonna
throw it out there now. He reminds me of Robert
Griffin a third. I just hope their careers don't.
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Match all three. College football insider j D. Pakel will
join us next. But first, Steve to saying you're trending
on everything in the world to sports, Steve, you're up.
Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
My friend.
Speaker 5 (01:01:00):
Rodan is out of the game. The Yankee starter allowed
three homers to the Dodgers in three and a third innings.
He only got one swing and miss on his fastball. Tonight,
Dodgers are batting, leading four to one over New York.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Juan Soto with
a solo shot for the New York scoring that came
off Dodger starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who has sixty two
(01:01:20):
pitches thrown in his four innings of work, so maybe
one more. As mentioned Since the shoulder injury which cost
him a lot of time this summer, he's not thrown
over five innings since as for the Dodger long balls,
Tommy Edmund the NLCS MVP with a solo homer and
in the third inning this qualified as a rally. Two outs,
nobody on Mookie bats singles and then back to back homers.
(01:01:42):
Then the Dodgers took it from one to one to
four to one pretty quickly the two long balls in
the third from Taoscar Hernandez and Freddie Freeman. Last Night's Hero.
Game three of the series is Monday nights at Yankee Stadium.
LA's Walker Buehler will starts against New York pitcher Clerk Schmidt.
We assume in LA all the open game in Game
four on Tuesday in New York. If there's a Game five,
(01:02:04):
it's Wednesday night in New York. All the games start
at eight pm Eastern Time on Fox TV. To the NFL, Bengals,
wide receiver t Higgins is a game time decision for
tomorrow with a quad injury. The Cowboys elevated running back
Dalvin Cook from their practice squad. Longtime Browns announcer Jim
Donovan passed away at the age of sixty eight to
college football tonight end of three quarters at six rank
(01:02:27):
Miami Hurricanes now lead Florida State twenty three to seven,
just starting the third quarter at Wisconsin Badgers over third
rank Penn State ten to seven halftime. LSU leads at
Texas A and M seventeen to seven, late first half
at Kansas State k State sixteen to fourteen now over
Kansas and late first half. Number twenty two SMU leads
(01:02:47):
at Duke fourteen to seven. Among the other games in
progress on FS one late third quarter, West Virginia's lead
now twenty four to seven at Arizona and just starting
the fourth quarter. Utah leads at Houston fourteen to seven. Earlier,
Number one Oregon looked like Number one beat up Number
twenty Illinois thirty eight to nine. Ducks led at halftime
thirty five to three. Number four Ohio State got three
(01:03:09):
touchdown passes from Will Howard in a narrow home victory
against Nebraska twenty one. Seventeen. Fifth ranked Texas won at
number twenty five Vanderbilt twenty seven to twenty four. Quinn
Ewers three touchdown passes in the first half. Number eleven
BYU now eight and OH five and oh and the
Big Twelve Conference after winning at UCF thirty seven twenty
four in New Jersey. It was Notre Dame against Navy.
(01:03:32):
The Irish led him at halftime thirty one seven fifty
one fourteen the final as Navy had five fumbles and
an interception. Indiana and Alabama with wins Old miss as well.
Among the ten NBA games, the Clippers won at Denver
today one oh nine, one oh four despite forty one
points from Nikola Jokic right now late in the game,
Cleveland leads big. At Washington won thirty to one oh eight.
(01:03:55):
Donovan Mitchell with thirty points and as far as the
TV ratings in sports this week, the end opening night
doubleheader on TNT on Tuesday averaged about three million viewers.
They were not up against baseball this year. Thursday Night
NFL Rams vikings twelve and a half million on Amazon.
Last night's Game one of the World Series fifteen point
(01:04:16):
two million for Yankees Dodgers last night, which is the
best rated opener of a World Series since twenty seventeen
when at Dodger Stadium, LA's Clayton Kershaw destroyed Houston.
Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin, Wise bj Hussey comes
to you a lot from the TI IRAQ dot Com
Studios at a game of Who You Got with the
producer Ian coming up at about ten minutes, but right now,
let's go ahead and get him in here. JD. Pakel
on three, College Football Insider, host of The Hard Count
on on three.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
You could check that out wherever you get, all the
other shows you get.
Speaker 8 (01:04:48):
J D.
Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Pakelw are you my friend on this fine Saturday evening?
Speaker 8 (01:04:52):
Brother? I'm better now, man, I appreciate having me on.
It's uh, it's kind of sad man week out of
the college football season. It kind of feels like we're
already round in down the home stretch the greatest regular
season in all sports.
Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
And look, you say it's the greatest regular season of
all sports.
Speaker 3 (01:05:06):
And a lot of that in the past was true because.
Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
You know, one game and you're out.
Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
You you lose to this team and it's over with.
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
Now with this, honestly, the conversation and a lot of
college football has been who's going to make the floor
team playoff? Making it, I mean, tripling it in size
has now made the intrigue. You're not necessarily eliminated after
game first lost, second loss, but you have a little
bit more wiggle room. How do you feel about that
concept in general? First, before we dive into some of
the games.
Speaker 8 (01:05:33):
This week, you know, I was a guy that was
always saying, like, hey, four teams, four teams, four teams,
like every single year, is there really more than sixteens
that even have a chance to compete for a national championship.
But what I think that Transfer Portal has done, and
what NIL has done, is that it has sort of
shuffled the deck a little bit across the sport to
where Hack Vanderbelt they got twenty new transfers, Davia, Alabama,
(01:05:55):
Arkansas they go get themselves forty new transfers. They beat
Tennessee and so all that's to say, I think for
this year, twelve teams is probably the right number to
have for a playoff field. I mean I was always
on board with you, like I said, the four team
and the regular season and all that, but obviously was
outvoted by the powers that be. So if this is
(01:06:16):
the new college football, I'm okay with it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
JD. Pickle, VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
Vernon Husky. Great to have you back, brother.
Speaker 4 (01:06:21):
I remember you from last season when we had you
on Man, So I'm excited to get a young, vibrant
voice like you want here for college football, Buddy.
Speaker 8 (01:06:29):
I appreciate it. Man. It's a blast to deal with y'all. Man,
I'm enjoying what we got going on here in this
late stay little LSUA and M going on here. It's
gonna tell us a lot about the SEC and how
that I think's gonna shape up.
Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
Well, let's talk about some of the other teams. Man,
you talked about teams that are doing well in transfer.
I mean, look at Indiana.
Speaker 4 (01:06:44):
Look at all the guys they brought from jen that
their college bought from James Madison University. My nehad was
back in Virginia. But today nor to Dame look good,
b Yu, look good. Alabama pitches shut out, no one
in Oregon looks good. Texas a little bit of a
scared era but gets the win. What'd you see today
talking about the twelve team playoff? Where As Mark just said,
there's not the knee jerk reaction early right when the
(01:07:05):
team loses. But we are in a portion of the
season where you probably don't want to give up.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
No l's right now. All those teams getting doves today,
what's standing out? Who's standing out? What team are you
looking at And also you got you can give us
who you think it's the best team in the nation
right now.
Speaker 8 (01:07:20):
You know, I'll start with that last question you threw
my way, I think right now with the way that
George's playing and what they did on the road against Texas,
Like I get they're not giving the number one team
in America when the Bulls come out on Sunday afternoon,
Like I totally get that, But I don't think anybody
wants to see a Kirby Smart coach team with that
roster off two weeks of rest if they don't make
the SEC title game. Like I've been saying it for
(01:07:42):
a while, I think that team in a tournament setting
is absolutely terrifying. But in terms of what we're seeing
right now, you know, at this point in the season,
Notre Dame I think is like the case study for
the twelve team playoff because they lose to NIU. And
I mean when the four team playoff, like that's it,
like forget about it, pack it in. You know, everybody
start thinking about the NFL Draft and all that. Like,
right for them to lose to NIU and it sounds
(01:08:04):
crazy to stay out loud, but the sense of urgency
that I think that provided for that team from that
game going forward, Like what when do we all bring
our best to the table when the stake's the highest, right
like the final league dam the playoff game, the big
pitch in the meeting like that has been Notre Dame
now every single week with zero margin for error since
the NIU game. And I think we're seeing their best
(01:08:24):
football because of that. I mean, maybe it's not you know,
necessarily the months star if you will of college football,
but still like if Notre Dame kind of fellasy, put
the wheel and sort of you know, just walk out
their game and lack of days like that, they would
have lost that game.
Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
Ye ja d Let me ask you now because we're
sitting here watching this Penn State was cons of game
Penn State's number three team in the nation, undefeated thus far.
Wisconsin with two losses, but a hell of a head
coach in my estimation, with Luke Fickle right now Wisconsin
with the lead, do you, I mean ask you, is
this Penn State team one that you feel like can
get upset? I know obviously they're trailing right now on
(01:08:58):
the second half, and do you, like, do you where
do you kind of view this Penn State team in
general and going forward and in this game up particular
matchup particularly.
Speaker 8 (01:09:07):
I think I think the thing with newest Penn State
is I think they're better than last year because of
what they did on the offensive side of the football
and went and got a new OC. However, this spot
for them I always thought was just absolutely terrifying. I mean,
you're on the road at n after a bye week
after you you know, went to overtime with US see
in the next weekend is the game you've had circled
(01:09:29):
since media days with Ohio State coming to town. So
I mean you said it perfectly, Luke Fickle, scrappy outfits.
They're on a backup quarterback because of their guy going
down Tyler Van Dyke against the Bama So terrifying spot.
Even if Penn State makes the College Football Playoff as
improved as they are, I think it will one thousand
percent depend on who they draw when it comes to
(01:09:51):
that twelve team team field. I think they'll still make
the playoff, but I don't know if they're a team
that you're talking about making a running win of the
whole darn thing.
Speaker 3 (01:09:57):
I agree with you, on that too. Man, let's go
to another big time team.
Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
Allegedly, Ohio State spent twenty one million dollars on nil
and to bring guys back and kind of build this team.
You bring over Chip Kelly, and then today they escape at.
Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
Home again to Nebraska team.
Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
Martin and I were talking if Nebraska's if the Nebraska's
a quarterback has got.
Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
More experience, they win that game today.
Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
They have a lot of talent, we know that, but
they're still and this isn't a Michigan Haiti team.
Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
This is really just looking at their team, I just
feel like there's still something missing.
Speaker 4 (01:10:25):
They couldn't run the ball today, and their head coach
they said it, like repeatedly in the halftime interview in
the post game, we've got to figure that out running
the football and figure out this offensive line.
Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
They were supposed to be world beaters this year.
Speaker 4 (01:10:38):
They already have an l What is going to happen
with this Ohio State team this year?
Speaker 3 (01:10:42):
They're getting into the playoffs, but what happens when they
get there?
Speaker 8 (01:10:46):
I think the concerning thing for me is this what
you mentioned, like, we cannot be playing shuffle the cards
on the offensive line. In October like that's not a
reality we can I guess you have injuries. I totally
understand that, but like, that's that's why you brought Chip
Kelly in, right, I mean, because he's running over dudes
with three star offensive linemen during his days at Oregon
Like that was kind of his bread and butter. So
a little bit disappointed that you look the way that
(01:11:07):
you look against Nebraska. The thing that I'm curious about
with Ryan Day is you look at his previous teams
that have had success in Ohio State, but all of
their big time moments come in, you know, late October
and early November. Like these teams historically under him have
not peaked at the right time or played their best
football in the biggest moments. And so my question isn't
(01:11:28):
so much like you just mentioned Martin, like are they
going to make the playoffs? I'd be shocked if they
did it. I think you would have to have the
basement fall off from underneath them.
Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
For that to happen.
Speaker 8 (01:11:37):
However, I don't have a ton of trust now that
if they get to that second round and they end
up drawing a spunky I don't know, call to Tennessee
or LSU exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 8 (01:11:49):
I don't like that for them. I don't see them
consistently playing their best football. And today was a great
example of that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
All right, Jad thirty, give me thirty seconds on Indiana football.
Tell me what do they do?
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
Way?
Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
What what is this turnaround about?
Speaker 8 (01:12:03):
To me? I mean you mentioned the transfer port of
that's huge, bringing the thirty guys. I mean, to put
it simply, like they just I think, view themselves differently,
like Curt Signetti is borderline arrogance, I mean overwhelmingly confident
and to be honest, like I love it, like you
need that when you when you want to. I mean
the Avenue head coach for a reason, and it wasn't
because they're all head coach with the NFL. Like that
(01:12:24):
was not a winning operation. And so to have a
dude who's like, listen, google me, I win and for
the team to buy into that and to have that
team personify that, like it doesn't matter what anybody else
thinks about Indiana, it matters what Indiana thinks about Indiana.
And they are balling right now, and I think in
large part it's because of obviously the flip of the roster,
but just the overall belief is is massive and I
(01:12:45):
think we're seeing dif.
Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
It on the bro right. And if you have any
questions about just google Kurt Signette you'll find you'll find
it all you need to know.
Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
He's a winner. We got a winner. We got a
winner right here with Ja D Pakel.
Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
You can catch him alive eleven am Eastern Standard Time Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday, or on three Sports with the Hard
Count JD. We're gonna have you pick your own theme
music out since you'll be coming on with us for
the rest of the college football season, so marinate on
that and we'll have it ready for you next week.
Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
Thanks for coming on the show, JD.
Speaker 6 (01:13:13):
Stick with this.
Speaker 3 (01:13:14):
You're college football, pippery baby.
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Stick with this. Don't change it, Yes, sir, so, if
you're a college football fan, that's where to go. If
you're an NFL football fan, be sure to tune into

what he had to say. That date is coming up

Wise Video us can come to you live at a
(01:13:57):
tire rack dot Com Studios, cana hit us up on
twe give me your two cents on Matt Martin Wise
VJ at Big Vanilla Funny, and of course you can
always tweet us at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:14:10):
Right now fortunate and you say anything back, because normally
he responds.
Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
No, I'm sure that's no saying. Just a moment after
we do our picks, but first that'll be at the
top of the hour. Coming up, we'll dive into some
NFL picks for week eight. But first let's play a
game of who you got? Chief Raiders Edition?
Speaker 7 (01:14:25):
All right, who you got Everyone's favorite time of week,
of course, so this week's the chiefs Raiders Edition. So
just a refresher to the listeners the rules of the game,
or that I am thinking of a former player or
executive or coach to someone who has something to do
with either the Chiefs or the Raiders. Could be a
current or former player, just something to do with either team.
(01:14:45):
And the idea is that each clue I give you
guys gradually is going to make it a little bit
easier to try and guess who it is. So let's
jump into it. First clue, this guy grew up in Dallas,
Texas and attended Carter High School, which was the school
the Friday Night Lights.
Speaker 3 (01:15:02):
Yeah, Dallas Carter. Absolutely. They also had a thirty for thirty. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:15:05):
Not, it's not the Dylan Panthers from the Friday Night
Lights Show. It's the movie High School.
Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
Oh okay, I mean god with that clue, we're just
we're just or a Raider Dallas Carter High School from Texas.
Patrick Mahomes No, uh, Tim Brown, No, all right? Next clue.
He was a top ten draft pick by the forty
(01:15:33):
nine ers, by forty.
Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
Neil Smith incorrect. The top ten pick from the forty
nine ers who was born in Texas.
Speaker 2 (01:15:46):
There's got to be a million. Uh uh, who's it?
Speaker 7 (01:15:52):
I came now, Tarvaris Ward incorrect? Next clue, So we
said he was a top ten draft pick by the Niners.
I will now give you the year. It was two
thousand and nine.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
He was drafted.
Speaker 3 (01:16:04):
Two thousand and nine. So the chances that this guy
is still in the league is slim. A fifteen year
career if they was still playing, and by the Niners.
Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
But he's attached to the Chiefs or director Eric Berry,
who seems to always be my chief, one of my chiefs.
Go to get correct, but I do, like you guess
the University of Tennessee. He won a top ten pick
and he was drafted oh Man, but taken by San
(01:16:39):
Francisco Chiefs rated.
Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
No and correct.
Speaker 7 (01:16:45):
Another good guess though, all right, this one could help
narrow it down. He's one of just two players in
college football history ever to win the bullet Nikoff Award
Best Receiver in the Nation twice.
Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
Michael Crabtree correct.
Speaker 5 (01:16:58):
It's Michael kra So in the row.
Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
Nice to in the row.
Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
The remaining Dallas Carter.
Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
He did, he did. Absolutely.
Speaker 7 (01:17:08):
The remaining hints were going to be that he played
college football at Texas Tech, where he set the record
for most touchdown catches by a true freshman in college
football history.
Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
Yep, sure did.
Speaker 7 (01:17:18):
He played for the Raiders for three seasons. Twenty fifteen
to twenty seventeen. So there's the connection for you. And
the final clue that was meant to totally give it
away was he was famously the subject of a postgame
Richard Sherman rant, who don't test me with sorry receivers
like Crowdtree. Don't you ever talk about me? Famous line
Michael Crowtree, good job, guys.
Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
Also part of one of the greatest on film fights
ever him It's a lead god ripped chasing.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
The fight went for forty yards. It's the greatest NFL
fight ever. Think about that. How sick is that one
of two college football players ever to win the beliticalf twice.
Speaker 7 (01:17:54):
The other one was black Man, Justin Justin Blackman.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Justin Blackman.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Absolutely, he just had trouble with the trouble with the
social life, but he was He was a hell of
a He was a tornado on the football.
Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
Yeah. But think about that.
Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
You won the two players.
Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
So when it's Letnokov twice and you played with Michael Krabt,
you probably had a top hat a eleven year NFL career,
and the two memories that people have of you is
Richard Sherman dunking on you to Aaron Andrews after that
game or key to leave stealing your multi million dollars.
Speaker 7 (01:18:23):
Which is tough because he was a great player, clearly,
I mean he was a great play. He had success
with the Niners and the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:18:30):
They played in the Super Bowl. Do you remember that
one year?
Speaker 7 (01:18:31):
It was like twenty twenty fifteen or sixteen were him
and Amari Cooper like they had Derek Carr and the
MVP commerce sation.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
They sure did. It just goes You are always remembered
by your worst moments, so just try to make your
worst moments not that bad.
Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
Speaking of being the worst.
Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
Moments, I think this is how I think Kansas City
is going to pound Vegas tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:18:52):
I don't I think they win. I don't think they
pound him. This is the divisional game. We know these
divisional games go. They they beat them recently twice. They
beat them twice recently. Okay, the Raiders have both times.
I believe in Arrowhead if I'm not mistaken over the
last two or three years. But I don't think they
pound them tomorrow. The Raiders they should be sellers too,
(01:19:14):
But you don't have a quarterback, guys. It's the old
additive in football, if you don't have a quarterback, you
don't have a shot. And they just don't have one
Minshew and O'Connell and they don't.
Speaker 2 (01:19:24):
Have a shot. They can't move to football.
Speaker 7 (01:19:25):
And do you guys remember before the season there was
the stuff of the Raiders had the Mahomes Kermit puppet.
Whatever Mahomes is gonna be personal.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
I'm worried about NFL. I'm not worried about it now.
Ian touched on it. Ian touched on it, and you're
exactly right.
Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
And I'm going to expound on that coming up next,
plus our NFL picks and the Atomic Dog.
Speaker 3 (01:19:47):
Look at to that come up top of the hour.
Martin White VJA Husky.
Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
Don't listen sports radio. That's right the.
Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
Verbroadcasting live from the tirack dot com studios ti iraq
dot com. We'll help you get there with an un
max selection, fast free shipping fruid as your protection and
over ten thousand recommended that its dollars tirerack dot com.
It's the way that tire buying should be. Week eight,
quickly approaching one game in the book. So far as
the Rams beat the Vikings, VJ was there it's there
(01:20:19):
and Parson in public, I was talking to Blake Krum
and all the other former Michigan Wolverines now in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:20:26):
But you know, Tomhew, I got my eyes on Mattellus. Oh,
I'm sure I will find his locker.
Speaker 7 (01:20:30):
See.
Speaker 4 (01:20:31):
My goal is to talk to all the Michigan guys
that I get to cover in the NFL this year.
Finally Roster finally went to Michigan. Find her locker, go
wait for him.
Speaker 9 (01:20:40):
So there there you go with that coming up. Now,
let's go ahead and get into the Atomic Dogs. Oh yes, okay,
Atomic Dogs. Just want to update the score really quick
for you guys. Last week Martin, you went one and
two VJ you also went one and two, so a
tie for both of you. The score remains tied overall
six to six. You each hit on six under this season.
Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
You gotta cont a one and two day depending on
which one of those dogs hicks.
Speaker 7 (01:21:05):
Yeah, that's funny considering you're winning. You're you're picking who
wins outright, It's not like you're picking them against. It's
impressive getting any Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:21:12):
Yeah, thank you, Abja with that much, try to make
people some money. Yes, I will make some money. All right,
So my first one, we've already talked about this game. Uh,
give me the Philadelphia Eagles at plus two that are
on the road at Cincinnati, and their last twelve they're
eleven and one straight up in October games against AFC teams.
Speaker 3 (01:21:31):
In their last fourteen, they're twelve and two.
Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
The one knock is there are three and seven against
the spread over the last ten games. But I'm taking
them tomorrow. I think they're in a flow. There's some
injury concerns in US. That defense is still concerns me.
With the Cincinnati Bengals, I like to fight the Philadelphia
ninth ring offense, ninth ras defense, defense travels, Sae Kwon
Barkley running game travels, jalaler Hurst makes enough plays. Oh yeah,
(01:21:57):
by the way, Brown's back they showed last week. Give
me the Philadelphia Eagles to go on the road as
the Underdultaw is my.
Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
First dog in the week. For the first dog of
the week here, absolutely, I'm going same way underdog four
o'clock standard long game too a tukoo looa back in
the lineup. I think it goes poorly for the Miami Dolphins.
Give me the Arizona Cardinals go ahead and get the win.
Here they're three and a half point underdogs. When it open,
it keeps moving the wrong way. I know, Kyler, Look
(01:22:27):
the numbers don't go in my favor, all right, But
here's the thing. Since Tua got hurt, they have since
started multiple backup quarterbacks, not due to play through to injury.
Tua is going to get hit in this game. I
hope he finishes it. I hope he finishes the rest
of his career never gets hurt again. I'm going with
the Arizona Cardinals. Circus football is a big boy game.
You're losing that one. Who's gonna be just find tomorrow
(01:22:47):
another one. I'll take for tomorrow for my second underdog.
Is a little cheapy, but hey, Vegas makes the lines.
Speaker 4 (01:22:52):
I don't give me. The Atlanta Falcon is a plus
one on the road against Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay's offense
has been outstanding fifth in the league, but they have
the second to last thirty first ranked defense in the league.
You can move the ball on Tampa Bay, you can score,
and the Falcons have the seventh ranked offense. I'll take
the seventh think offense going against the thirty first ranked
(01:23:14):
defense all day long. They are three and eleven in
the last fourteen against the spread. But you know what,
I'll take them anyway. On the road against Tampa Bay.
I think this is a close game, and I think
they pull this bad boy off league. Give me the
Falcons that go on a row in a division game
to get a good underdog win on the road tamp
(01:23:35):
But give me the Falcons tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:23:37):
That's my second. If you're a team that.
Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
Has any level of redeeming qualities, it's real hard to
lose three games in a row, even harder to lose four,
harder even still to lose five. If the New England
Patriers lose six games in a row, I'm gonna lose
my mind. Give me the New England Patris right here,
Drake mean getting the start again. In my bad I
am fading every opportunity I have to the Jet. The
Jets seven point favorites, really believe that. You don't believe
(01:24:01):
that that's funny acting right until they start winning.
Speaker 3 (01:24:04):
I don't believe in Yeah, So I'll go ahead. I'm
taking the Patriots on the money line. They're definitely covering
at seven, though, and I'm gonna actually piggyback here with
an honorable mintion.
Speaker 2 (01:24:12):
Just so I could just pile on to them bum
ass Jets. Give me the Patriots to brow on the road.
There as two in their last ten against the Jets.
They are six and two in their last eight against
the spread against them, bum ass Jets.
Speaker 4 (01:24:24):
Listen to total under the total's going under thirteen of
the last seventeen times d two teams have matched up
the over the total lamorro is forty and a half Vegas.
Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Don't think nobody has scored no points in this game.
Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
Two good defenses you put on the field. I think
Drake May makes enough plays, and I think missed the
discount double check double checks's asset to the turnover situation,
as he's been doing recently. And then just a quick,
honorable Mitch, give me Seattle home at a plus two
and a half against Buffalo. That'll be my honorable Mitch.
Speaker 4 (01:24:51):
But definitely my third doll is them Patriots taking out
them bumb ass Jets and put in their season too
slight at two and six after tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:25:01):
For my last dog, I am going with I just
had it right here, up scrolling, scrolling, Oh here you go,
mind it nobody will ever, ever ever accuse me of
being a homer.
Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
But I'm taking the New World Saints to win against
the car CHRISA.
Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
Lave's back, Taysom Hills back, Stresser RL's been out there
with no weapons. The kids been out there with no weapons,
just in the wild with a stick and a little pocket,
not trying to survive. Well, guess what he's getting a
huntred rifle, had a tank back on that offensive side
of the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:25:30):
And I just look the charges to this card corep points.
I don't believe it.
Speaker 2 (01:25:34):
I don't believe I know that Jim Harby was supposed
to be the offensive mattermond Jim. It was the name
Herbert supposed to be this incredible quarterback. I think both
of them are true, but until I see it manifest
on the field, I can't get behind it.
Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
All right, right now, let's get into the NFL picks.
That Chargers defense is montroscrous.
Speaker 7 (01:25:51):
All right, the picks, So VJ. You already sort of
hinted at at what you were thinking on this one,
but we are going to start with the Buffalo Bills
facing off against the Seattle Seahawks. Seahawks are the home team,
but the Bills are favored by three points. That's a
afternoon game on Fox. What do you guys think?
Speaker 8 (01:26:07):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
Very quick? For me, man, I think Seattle gets this game.
It's a tough place to play, that's a good defense.
And also we talked about this yesterday, filling in on
odd couple. Mister Josh Apple turnover. Allen hasn't done that yet.
You know it's coming. It's like Christmas. If you wait
long enough, December twenty fifth will get here. You'll get presidents, cookies, milk, movies,
Santa Claus, christa Tree, all that good stuff. Give me
(01:26:27):
Seattle as the underdog here plus two and a half
to take this victory tomorro against the Bills.
Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
I'll take the Seahawks plus two and a half as well.
You got an East host team going West Coast. Those
are supposed to be a tough body clock game. Really,
it's a fan of Josh Allen because he's been an
interception prone forever. Either he has just gotten completely out
of his system or some of these turnovers are starting
to come sooner than later.
Speaker 3 (01:26:48):
I'll take the Seahawks to cover this. I don't know
who wins, though, Honestly, I think it'll be a tight game,
all right. Before we get to the next game.
Speaker 7 (01:26:54):
I actually do need to update the scores from last week.
Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
Martin.
Speaker 7 (01:26:56):
This was actually a dominant week for you. You went
three and two and VJ you unfortunately went one and four.
So the overall score it's still close. Martin nineteen and
fourteen VJ seventeen and sixteen.
Speaker 3 (01:27:07):
Three and two is not dominant. Three and two is
just above ass.
Speaker 7 (01:27:10):
He was dominant over relative to VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
I understand that, but I hold myself to the standard
of the sports book.
Speaker 4 (01:27:15):
Fair All right, let's go. It wasn't dominate over me.
I don't like how you added that in it won't
dominate over me. I don't like the way you had
that in. Going to the next game for you get
yourself in trouble.
Speaker 7 (01:27:24):
Ian Bears minus two and a half versus the Commanders.
Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
What do we think.
Speaker 4 (01:27:30):
It's a tough one for me, man, because this is
the defensive game tomorrow. This is nineteen seventeen, nineteen sixteen,
something like that. Both these defenses are top ten in
the league. Both these defenses will show up.
Speaker 3 (01:27:40):
Whoever does it turn the ball over will win this
game tomorrow. I tend to go with the home.
Speaker 4 (01:27:46):
Team in these situations, because the home team with the
defensive crowd, with the crowd behind, and with a defensive
type of team.
Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
Give me the Commanders to pull this one off tomorrow
and get to six and two. Checking the Bears off
a bye. I liked you know, that's a good time
to reset, get everything back. And already got a rookie quarterback.
That's the time to all right, Caleb, take a deep breath,
figure it out. What went well? What went wrong?
Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
How do we improve?
Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
I like the Bears. Plus they're getting some secondary guys
back after this by give me the Chicago also.
Speaker 4 (01:28:12):
Really quick on this game too. Bears have only beaten
one team would have win a record. They haven't beaten
anybody good, so did tomorrow This This is a big
game for them tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:28:18):
It'll be two by theay. It'll be two by the
time we do the show again. All right.
Speaker 7 (01:28:21):
Next up, Dallas Cowboys. This is the Sunday night game.
They're traveling to San Francisco to face the forty nine Ers.
The forty nine Ers, they've got a lot of bad
luck recently with the injuries. Still, though they're favored by
five points over Dallas.
Speaker 2 (01:28:33):
What do we think.
Speaker 4 (01:28:34):
I'm gonna go San Francisco on this one. If it
was in Dallas, it might sway me. But I think
San Francisco thumps them. I don't think this game's closed.
I gotta pick a thumper every week.
Speaker 2 (01:28:43):
This is my thump game. I think they beat them
by ten plus.
Speaker 4 (01:28:45):
Dallas has a lot of issues, and it shows how
their running game has been working. They've activated Dalvin Cook.
He's gonna see the field tomorrow. That tells you all
you need to know about Dallas's offensive walls of running
the football. You talked about the Niners having some issues,
they still got a bunch of those guys own a
defensive side of the ball, and they're at home on
national TV. Give me the Niners will win ten. I
think they covered this tomorrow and they win by timponds.
Speaker 2 (01:29:06):
I am lockstep here. I think the fort they're not
just gonna run right, run left, and run right down
the middle of the throw to the Dallas Cowboys to
a double digit win. All right.
Speaker 7 (01:29:16):
Next up, Chiefs versus Raiders. This one is interesting because,
as we know, there's a lot of drama between these
two teams. The division rivals, the Chiefs are favored by
nine and a half points, though, and as we know
the Raiders, they come to play when they play the Chiefs,
so could be a little much.
Speaker 3 (01:29:31):
I don't know, what do we think?
Speaker 4 (01:29:32):
I got the Chiefs covering you pissed off Mahomie in
the offseason. He made it known the Chiefs have a
top ten offense and a top ten defense. And guess
what the Raiders still don't have in offense. That defense
is going to be cut loose by spags tomorrow. Look
for Chris Jones to make all types of play they might.
They might play two quarterbacks tomorrow. Seriously, the Raiders might
(01:29:52):
play two quarterbacks in the row because one guy might
get knocked out. The way this defense has been playing,
even if they did have a quarterback, the chief secondary
has been locking things down. They're not gonna have any
shot at this game tomorrow. Give me, give me the
Chiefs to embarrass the Raiders in the depth start tomorrow
on Vegas.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
I agree. I see at least one special team so
our defensive touchdown in this matchup. I expect everybody to
be up for this. When you're trying to have a
three peat or even go back to back. Now, I've
never won a championship, but I've talked to people who have.
They say the biggest thing that holds them up is boredom. Right,
you gotta be Being excellent is hard to do it
(01:30:28):
day in day out. It's hard to do that. Now,
what gets you motivation?
Speaker 8 (01:30:32):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:30:33):
The Chiefs saw this? Remember this, You think Patrick Mahomes
does it keep? If you keep back Mahomes as a
hold grudges, go watch that Netflix show and it'll get
all back in order. I guarantee you. They got pictures
of what is Troy Taylor? I believe his name was
Air Force wide receiver maybe safety? Who is holding that
Kermit the frog? That right now is everybody's lock screen
on the Kansas City iPad with the read their plays.
Speaker 4 (01:30:54):
Kansas City is going to stomp this team. And remember
he's got a thing with Max Crosby. Mahomes and Max Crosby,
they got a thing to man.
Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
So this is a big game. But Mahomeie's just gonna
blow them away tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:31:03):
All right.
Speaker 7 (01:31:04):
We will finish off with the Monday night game. The
Pittsburgh Steelers are home again against their second straight New
York team. They took care of the Jets. Can they
do it against the Giants? They're favored by six points.
Speaker 4 (01:31:15):
What do you guys think the NFL needs to input
a move where it can flex out Monday night games
and has to be done by Wednesday morning.
Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
In mind, this is horrible. This is horrible.
Speaker 4 (01:31:23):
Pittsburgh is going to blow them off the field. They're
going to run it up on them. This is thirty
to six, thirty to ten, twenty eight to six, you know,
somewhere in that range.
Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
This game isn't even close.
Speaker 4 (01:31:34):
Why was this even scheduled as a Monday night game
with these two teams even coming into this season when
the schedule was made, I have no idea. Give me
Pittsburgh though, to take care of this pretty easily Tomorrow,
Monday Night.
Speaker 2 (01:31:44):
I'm taking the Giants here. Wow, But I think it's
going to be an ugly game, like we're talking about.
I'm talking about what is it, six and a half
of fourteen to seventeen with more interceptions and touchdowns thrown.
Speaker 3 (01:31:55):
Oh, that's a type of game.
Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
I'm looking at a lot of victory laps after Russell
willin first start. I understand it was a very contentious
topic all summer. But the only thing I took out
of Pittsburgh's offense last week was throw the ball to
George Pickens. He's really good. That was about its Giants.
Here's a fun fact lead the NFL in sacks the Giants.
Dexter Lawrence is gonna be sitting on Russell Wilson at
(01:32:17):
least three separate times. And then on the other side
of things, t J wat versus Daniel Jones. If you're
the only Daniel Jones's mother, look away. This is gonna
get ugly. This is gonna be an ugly defensive game.
But I'll take the Giants in the six and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:32:30):
Honorable mentioned if I could throw it out there, Packers Jags,
dem Jags have any shot at home?
Speaker 3 (01:32:35):
Oh, I think to pull this off and.
Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
Upset the Packers and kind of maybe save this portion
of the season and then maybe give some questions to
people like us about the Packers. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:32:48):
I think the Jaguars actually have a really good shot
in this game.
Speaker 2 (01:32:51):
But that is the Week eight.
Speaker 3 (01:32:53):
Picks coming up next.
Speaker 2 (01:32:54):
This was a blockbuster summer move, a blockbuster summer move,
and now we are getting the initial returns to tell
you that Martin Weiss was exactly right. This was the
dumbest thing you could have done. We'll get to that
coming up next in just a second. Martin wisz VJ Husky,
Fox Sports Radio on a Fox Sports Football Saturday. This
summer move turned into a disaster before it even got started.
(01:33:17):
Martin and Vjay Martin wis VJ. Hussey coming to your
life at the tire rack dot Com Studios. You can
follow us on Twitter like several of our listeners do,
and interact with us because I promise you if you
do it enough, we'll read it on her. Yeah, like
you can get your message out, You could definitely get
your message out. In fourteenth in Indy, speaking of Ohio States,
quarterback transferred from Kansas State.
Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
The lofty preseason expectations were overinflated.
Speaker 2 (01:33:41):
For Ohio State and this leading from medium members with
an agenda big vanilla funny. No way you could expect
a transfer for Kansas State to be Charlie Ward, be real.
Speaker 3 (01:33:52):
Stop it, man, Now you making excuses.
Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Bruh.
Speaker 3 (01:33:54):
Now, ain't what you've been saying. You've been running your mouth.
Well here you've been running your mouth. They wont speaking
of Charlie Ward to exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
Not only that they try to go after Dylan Gabriel
also like, stop it, Bro, that ain't what you said
one one.
Speaker 3 (01:34:09):
I want to hear that now. I want to hear
that today. That's not what you've been talking.
Speaker 1 (01:34:13):
Twenty one million.
Speaker 4 (01:34:14):
Dollars allegedly, allegedly on your nil roster, and you're not
going undefeated. Ohio State was supposed to go undefeated this year,
not lose a game already.
Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
It might lose another game.
Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
That wasn't the plan.
Speaker 7 (01:34:26):
This guy's a full villain in the Martin and VJ
lower By now at this.
Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
Point because he likes to poke at VJA and but
you know, Ian, I love it it. Don't bother me.
Speaker 5 (01:34:36):
I love this the best way possible.
Speaker 2 (01:34:37):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:34:39):
He listens to us. This guy's a faithful list. He
listened every Saturday. This is my guy.
Speaker 4 (01:34:43):
But stop fronting, Bro, you've been running your mouth. Don't
be making no excuses. Now you're telling Martin this isn't
last year. And you guys always talking about the past.
You talk about Kansas State. Now, where does well Howard play?
Where do you play?
Speaker 2 (01:34:55):
Mary? Where do you played last year? Kansas?
Speaker 3 (01:34:58):
All right, so don't tweet us about last I share,
no damn more how about that?
Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
But I just also think the the biggest thing of
it all is like, would a would Will Howard be
starting at Kansas State right now behind Avery Johnson?
Speaker 3 (01:35:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:35:11):
I don't know, man, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
I watched that one a little bit earlier. I watched
them last week, not today.
Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
Today was I'm sorry with Texas and Texas Tech and
TCU that game I actually had on my TV.
Speaker 2 (01:35:22):
But yeah, man, flight out was just just just full disclosure.
We got a million TV's in here. We don't have
that game on. I know it's like an eight point
lead against Kansas right now. In fact, I think maybe
we could lose cam Ward down here and get that
over there, but we get brought Glenn off the TV
down here. Hey college football player? What was he was
trying to win that bowl game? Remember that ACC championship?
(01:35:43):
Yeh three eleven for twenty two yards? Get this guy
off the field. H Speaking of get off the field,
that's what the New York Knicks fans will be saying
to Karl anthlety Towns and a Ball thirty five more games.
Speaker 1 (01:35:57):
You don't like?
Speaker 3 (01:35:57):
Yeah, go ahead, I'm gonna let you go with this.
This is just second you're really on this. Well, here's
the thing.
Speaker 2 (01:36:04):
Here's the thing. So the Minnesota Timberwolves traded not one,
not two, not three, but four first round picks to
get Rudy Gobert BJ What was.
Speaker 3 (01:36:13):
The primary reason why they traded four first round picks.
Speaker 2 (01:36:16):
To get Rudy Gobert?
Speaker 4 (01:36:17):
Well, it was defense and just to put them, they
were trying to build a championship team. You nailed it,
you nailed and trying to get the championship.
Speaker 3 (01:36:24):
Team along with kat why was the defense?
Speaker 2 (01:36:27):
Especially in the interior sport, Carlandon Towns shows he either
is unable or unwilling to play center at a high
defensive level. Absolutely well until Mitchell Robinson or Jericho Simms
or somebody comes back for this next team. If you
told me that they had traded for Carlin the Towns
that kept Hartenstein, Okay, hey got you.
Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
All bets are off.
Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
No, David Carlandon Towns be your primary big man is
a recipe for disappointment.
Speaker 3 (01:36:55):
This is a recipe for expectations to not get mad right,
And we.
Speaker 2 (01:36:59):
Saw it in the postseason last year. And you know
what that was the first day that he everards was
the first guy I had seen almost across the board,
not just people who felt Carnly tewn. People felt sorry
for him because he had lost a lot during COVID
and so on. And I'm not saying that's put that
in a death separate bucket. There's not a player more
of a line for his play who's an also caliber
player than Carl Malone. I mean, Carl Corlely Town. That's
(01:37:24):
what ends up happening here. And now he's in New
York under the biggest spotlight possible. Those Tims Carlinton Towns
teams in Minnesota had bad defenses right that TIBs carl
the Town's combination was the same one that Jimmy Butler
walked up and down the court in that practice session
to get traded out of there.
Speaker 3 (01:37:40):
And now with all the backups and G League guys.
So to me, I thought the Knicks got better when
they traded for Michel Bridges just on the ros tas.
Speaker 2 (01:37:49):
I think they got worse when they moved Devincenzo and Randall,
and I think it was gonna show for Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (01:37:53):
The Devincenzo when we talked about this when we heard
about the trade here on the show on Martin VJ.
The Devincenzo move is the one that baffles me. I
love that guy. I don't know why you give that
guy up. Now you need that guy, and now you've
given that up for Karl Anthony Towns. You're bringing Karnthony Towns.
And if you couldn't handle you know, the market of Minnesota,
New York will eat you alive. That's Randy Johnson, you guys,
(01:38:14):
I know, I know the Sega remembers this. You guys
remember Randy Johnson signed with the Yankees and was coming
from the Mariners and coming from the d Backs, and
he was gonna do all these great things, didn't he
push a reporter Like the first day on the sidewalk
walking down the street, It's like, okay, buddy, yeah, you're
not gonna be able to handle this New York media.
If you can't just walk to get you a slice,
(01:38:35):
a slice our whole pie and a soda for two
fifty and you're being bothered by the media and that's
kind of making you unravel. You could see the same
thing with Karl Anthony Towns. I think also too, we
have to Remember we all got personal things. We all
have personal stuff that happens. But at the end of
the day, Number one is none of my business. Number two,
hey bro, it's time to play Like.
Speaker 2 (01:38:55):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
You've had some hearts, you've had some some hardships, you
have some things that have happened.
Speaker 2 (01:38:58):
Okay, cool, bye. You know, at the end of the day,
this is what you do, well what you do just
as an adult. You know this is not Seriously some
people may think, oh, that's insensitive. As an adult, you
owe it to the people around you to to process
and deal with some of the stuff you're going through.
If you need help, go get help, if you know
what I'm saying. If that's the type of situation, but
(01:39:19):
you owe it to your people. That are the people
that are around you depending on you. Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (01:39:23):
So, that's your team, that's your your market, your franchise,
your coaches, your players, or just everything.
Speaker 2 (01:39:29):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:39:29):
Now, as far as the impact it has, I expect
Brunton to take an I think he's got another level
he can go to with his game. Not sure what
it is, but I just feel like there's something else
there I haven't seen from It's like I don't look
at Brunton and think of what I thought of Paul
George at a certain point when he's back in Indiana, like, Okay,
this is the best Paul George we're gonna get.
Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
He won't ever be any better than this. He had
a good year and a half run with Oklahoma City
and that was it. And it hasn't worked at the
with the didn't work with the Clippers.
Speaker 4 (01:39:59):
He's already out seven ten days to start the season
with the seventy six ers now after signing possibly his
last big major deal. So we've seen things like this
transpire before, but I'm not I'm gonna I'm gonna watch this.
I'm just not on it as hardcore as you are,
but I'm gonna keep eye on it.
Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
That's the other move that I was like everybody, every people,
we do this all the time in the meeting. Is
something that we gotta stop.
Speaker 3 (01:40:18):
But as soon as a move gets made, it's who championshiploading?
Speaker 2 (01:40:23):
What about? What about Paul George getting traded to the
Philadelphia seventy six Ers makes them a championship contender? When
you just take one moment and watch the Boston Celtics, right,
I'm here for the Knicks. I don't think the Knicks
comp I think the Knicks got worse. I think they're
still top East, Tam, you know what I'm saying. Paul
George and Joelnbi May I played thirty five games together
(01:40:44):
and Boston put up one twenty four and beat my
beloved pissess tonight by the way, so you know they're
on a roll. Only one twenty four for Boss today
Detroit's defense, how about that? Looking pretty good for that
and everything else?
Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
Trying to get a world to sports Steve the Seger
has got it.
Speaker 5 (01:41:01):
Man Jitlin Brown in that game six of twenty four
and they still win again and six twenty four, three
and zero for the Celtics.
Speaker 3 (01:41:08):
Yes, so wait six to.
Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
Twe they're right all track, They're right on their championship track.
Then right is shooting terrible numbers and winning by a million.
Speaker 5 (01:41:15):
Well, they still have Jason Tatum on the team.
Speaker 2 (01:41:17):
True, he's been going nuts, sarsty.
Speaker 5 (01:41:19):
Thirty seven points in this game.
Speaker 1 (01:41:21):
Thank you?
Speaker 3 (01:41:22):
Still see you think he's still pissed about the Olympics.
Speaker 5 (01:41:25):
You know he shouldn't be. But the whole Jordan thing,
if I took that personally, he shouldn't be either so
whatever worked right, Okay. Clippers won at Denver today by
the way, one O nine, one O four, despite forty
one points from the Kola Jokic. Now to the World
Series Game number two in LA on Fox TV. Right now,
it's still Dodgers for to one over the Yankees bottom
of the seventh inning. Quite a debut in the World
(01:41:46):
Series for Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Six and a third innings, just
one hit allowed, a solo home run by Juan Soto,
eighty six pitches thrown, his most since June before the
shoulder injury. In this game tonight, there were four home
runs hit in the first three innings that it only
happened in two other World Series in history. Tommy Edmonds
had a long bawl in the second inning for the Dodgers,
(01:42:08):
and then the Dodgers after giving up the Soto home
run top of the third, it's a one to one
game and they come back with three in the bottom
of the third, three runs scored. In fact, since the
start of last season twenty twenty three, the Dodgers have
scored at least three runs in an inning over two
hundred times, the most in Major League Baseball. And this rally,
(01:42:28):
if you want to call it that two out's nobody
on in the bottom of the third, single by Betts,
home run, ta Oscar Hernandez, home run Freddie Freeman, and
quickly a one to one game went to four to one,
and that's where it stands. Bottom of the seventh Dodgers
trying to take a two games to none lead in
the World Series. Game three is Monday nights at Yankee
Stadium and they're all on Fox TV and all starting
(01:42:50):
at eight pm Eastern to the NFL, Bengals wide receiver
t Higgins is a game time decision with a quad injury.
The Cowboys elevated running back Dalvin Cook from their practice squad.
Panther's running back Jonathan Brooks is still out with his
knee injury. To college football, final seconds number six, Miami
now leads thirty six fourteen over Florida State, which is
going to fold a one and seven this season. Final
(01:43:13):
minutes number three Penn State has scored again. It's twenty
eight thirteen at Wisconsin. Just starting the fourth quarter at Texas,
A and m Aggie's now lead LSU in their top
twenty match up. Twenty one seventeen. Kansas State is hosting Kansas,
and the case a lead is now twenty three twenty
over Kansas, which has just scored mid third quarter, and
(01:43:34):
number twenty two SMU has just scored late third quarter,
now leading for the moment twenty to seven at Duke.
Among the other games in progress, we're talking about it Michigan.
It's Wolverinees twenty four seventeen against Michigan State with two
minutes left. Auburn leads early fourth quarter at Kentucky twenty
four to ten. Kentucky could fold a one and five
(01:43:55):
in conference. Earlier it was number one Oregon over Illinois
thirty eight to nine. Fourth ranked Ohio State survived at
home against Nebraska twenty one seventeen. Texas won at Vanderbilt
twenty seven to twenty four victories for BYU and Notre
Dame for Indiana and Alabama. Old Miss got a win
as well. Looks like Shoe Otani's being attended to at
(01:44:17):
second base by a trainer. The game has been stopped
here as the seventh inning has ended at Dodger Stadium,
LA up for to one over the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (01:44:24):
Back to you, Yeah, Steve Otani got thrown out for
the last out of the inning. Here he was trying
to steal second base, slides in, and now he is
holding his left arm bent very gingerly and like almost
like they're holding it like he's got a sling on.
It looks like, oh, it looks like he got his
elbow planting to go down to try to slide in
the second base. But it was instant and immediate. He
(01:44:45):
put his hand up. As soon as the play was over.
Dave Roberts came out of the dugout. Everybody at Chavez
Ravine under mass concerning now because Shoe Ootani looked hurt,
felt hurt, and as soon as he the play was over,
he was like, I am hurt.
Speaker 5 (01:44:58):
Yeah, don't get reason. You don't put your hand down
on the dirt when you are slide sliding. If you down,
your body keeps going forward.
Speaker 4 (01:45:05):
Absolutely, that could either be elbow's shoulder. You put your
hand down like that jams the shoulder.
Speaker 2 (01:45:11):
It gives me an elbow.
Speaker 4 (01:45:12):
But either or you don't want to see your seven
hundred and fifty million dollar guy laying on the field,
you know, and gain to it.
Speaker 5 (01:45:18):
So it is end of seven innings. He is a
d H. He's not going back into the field anyway.
There is a day a day off tomorrow for travel
h standing by for Monday night.
Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
Yeah, depending on the severity of this issue, he may
not come out of the game. But you know, he
may he may be perfectly fine. But in this moment,
in this instance, right here, as we are waiting for
the Fox to come back for commercial break, I'm sure
that every single Dodger fan in that stadium and watching
across America has a deep breath of and just they
will not exhale until they come back for commercial break.
Speaker 5 (01:45:48):
It doesn't seem likely his spot and in the order
would come back up again because they're still.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
Just about to ask you where they were, Because if
he's got a bat again, as to show.
Speaker 5 (01:45:55):
You something, he's the leadoff guy and they're at the
number three spot in the order. He was at bat
with the cat stealing, so he would return to the
bat at the bottom of the eighth.
Speaker 4 (01:46:04):
I'd probably, you know, of course we don't know what's
going on, but maybe you know, maybe you just set them,
you know it's for to one late in the game,
you know you don't want to I'd be surprised if
he comes back in the way he was walking holding
his arm like that, Well he can only hit anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:46:18):
Yeah, I may not probably become it may not be
an issue we see resolved today as Steve just kind
of he's immediately gone to the clubhouse. Yeah, okay, yeah,
so he's Yeah, a scary moment indeed, because he I
was watching it that Steve was doing his update and
almost turned. I wanted to turn the microphone on to
be like Steve, nobody cares about Texas A and M
and L shoe right now. Just might his elbow.
Speaker 4 (01:46:41):
Maris speaking of some of these games man that people
may care about, may not care about. We didn't get
the NY upsets we want. It looks like Penn State's
gonna hold on up twenty eight to thirteen.
Speaker 3 (01:46:50):
They've done very.
Speaker 4 (01:46:51):
Well and uh LSU though at College Station through it
the interception late in the third quarter actually set up
this score right now we're looking at right now twenty
one have a team with fourteen fifty six. They just
started the fourth quarter there in College Station, Texas here.
But uh so does this kind of you know, is
kind of change anything for Franklin or is like, hey,
(01:47:11):
it's five or two Wisconsin on the road.
Speaker 2 (01:47:13):
They're not even ranked.
Speaker 4 (01:47:14):
You know, you're undefeated, you're you know, team's picking you
to do good, big things this year.
Speaker 2 (01:47:18):
Or is it okay, okay, you know, okay, Frank, we
get you a little, we get a little a little,
a little nod for today. I mean, sure you get
credit for winning, but I mean, of course I still
expect them to blow winning.
Speaker 3 (01:47:29):
Okay, sooner or later down, Well, next week is the
big one.
Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
There you go?
Speaker 3 (01:47:33):
Yeah, next week?
Speaker 4 (01:47:34):
Is it man them in Ohio State. It's gonna it's
gonna be. It's gonna really set up where seting goes.
Of course, I think both these teams could end up
in the playoffs. But Penn State beats Ohio State next week.
Ohio State is on alert of not even making the
playoffs because, as we've already stated, two wins might, two
losses might get you in the college football playoff. Three
(01:47:54):
losses you are officially eliminated. You are not getting to
the college playoff with three losses, not unless you know
what three or four top fifteen teams they would have
three loss if the only way that a three loss
team gets in is if every team has at least
one man exactly. But we might get that because there
is only what uh K Penn State's undefeated BYU was undefeated,
(01:48:15):
and uh for Indiana Oregon in Indiana Indiana, they got
some tough ones coming up too.
Speaker 2 (01:48:21):
But like if Oregon runs the table, I have no
time for your three losses. Yeah, I fomed it, absolutely. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:48:27):
I just don't think it's a good look. I actually
have a to have a three U.
Speaker 2 (01:48:31):
You went to a twelve team playoff and you have
three and you have three loss teams coming into the uh,
you have three loss teams you know, getting into the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:48:38):
I just don't think it's a good look.
Speaker 2 (01:48:40):
James frank went only way to moving Oh, never against
top ten opponents. I'm sorry, I was about to say,
I thought he was gonna move three and nineteen ranked
in the Times.
Speaker 3 (01:48:48):
That can't be right.
Speaker 2 (01:48:48):
No, no record against top ten opponents, which is frightening.
Speaker 8 (01:48:52):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:48:53):
I'll say that to say at least uh. Michael Kopek
and for the Dodgers right now top of the eighth
to two count for well as we anxiously await any
type of update over show hal Tani and what happened
with his elbow was his left elbow, so it should
not impact.
Speaker 3 (01:49:09):
You know, going forward his reconstructed arm.
Speaker 8 (01:49:12):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
You know he had the Tommy John Surdery obviously last
year was it that he thought he's right handed, So
he should be fine in regards to that. But still
there's the little matter of the World Series at hand here.
And if you take Otani out the top of the lineup,
you still have Betts Freeman and the Oscar Hernandez. But
let's be honest, the engine that makes the car go,
(01:49:34):
you know, the straw that stirs the drink, whatever else
you'd like to say, it's a show hal Tani. It's
just like last week we talked about Aiden Hutchinson being
injured for the Detroit Lions and oh is the sky falling? No,
you still have weapons, but you also probably have their
most dynamic player, I would think, and you know, by
(01:49:56):
by all accounts from players and coaches, the leader of
that football team. Now, like a leader in the locker room,
you're still losing that. You lose Showy A Tani for
any amount of time, Guys like, it's still show hey Tani,
even with all the bats that you still have, He's
still the guy you know he's still a big time guy.
Steve is telling me through sign language that it is
a left shoulder injury for Otani. There, you and I
(01:50:18):
imagine we don't they don't. It's not football, so don't
have to designate him questionable to return or doubtful or whatever.
We'll see if the Dodgers give us enough drama, and actually,
you know, would the Yankees would have to come back
and tie this game for us to see Otani hit
again more than likely, So we'll see what ends up
happening there as Texas and m punches in a touchdown
to take a ten point lead. I just saw a
(01:50:39):
tweet from an LSU fan, go figure LSU beating LSU
once again, like we're talking about Garrettsmyer getting the Ian
Roddy kiss of death, saying I like this kid as
a prospect and he immediately throws an interception. Quick quitted
to the Twitter.
Speaker 4 (01:50:51):
Brandon Brody a good another big fan of the show.
We love you, brother, He's always listening.
Speaker 2 (01:50:55):
Greaters.
Speaker 4 (01:50:56):
What is it with you and your Raiders? You gotta
be realistic. At a certain point, he tweets that big
of another funny if the Raider.
Speaker 2 (01:51:01):
If I'm sorry. Just the first four wards is funny.
If the Raiders went to sorry, I did it again
and just reading that Liss funny, hell would have frozen
over twice since last Christmas. But I think the Raiders
defense is better than what I've been seeing in here.
The offense doesn't belong any on an NFL phil Can
we call the stadium security on the Raiders offense? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:51:24):
Man, you guys aren't scoring anything tomorrow. That Chiefs defense
is good, their top ten and they have one of
the best cover corners in the LEADU. You have one
of the best young pass rushers in the league. And
then you have one of them, and you have probably
the premier defensive enter and tiror lineman in the league.
And add all three levels. They have all pro guys.
They have pro ball type guys. They have superior guys.
Speaker 3 (01:51:43):
You don't have a quarterback, sorry, man, you don't have
a quarterback, so you can't run.
Speaker 2 (01:51:46):
The ball, you can't throw the ball. I talk to
somebody in the know, and Carter Bradley is like an
option for the Raiders going forward this season. If that's
an option, you don't even know who that is. You
don't even know who Carter Bradley.
Speaker 3 (01:51:58):
I have no idea who. I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (01:52:01):
I do not know South Alabama baby Carter Bradley. Okay,
Senior Bowl?
Speaker 3 (01:52:05):
Wow, how do we miss that ian?
Speaker 2 (01:52:08):
How do we miss on him?
Speaker 7 (01:52:10):
You forget the South Florida legend, Carter brad.
Speaker 4 (01:52:13):
South Alabama, Alabama, not not even South Florida, South Alabama
legend a height.
Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
Look, man, if he's got a statue. Who look if
y'all weren't down there in mobile.
Speaker 7 (01:52:24):
He's catching so many strings. He did nothing to us
and never heard, never heard him.
Speaker 3 (01:52:28):
The mistake that he made was was being at the
Senior ball.
Speaker 1 (01:52:34):
Him.
Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
Michael Pratt, oh man, pfencer Rattler. I like Michael Pratt
though they're all throwing together. Where is Michael Pratt these days?
Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
He don't know, We don't know, nobody knows exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:52:47):
Crickets bringing a spencer though. I'm excited to watch him.
Speaker 3 (01:52:50):
Love tomorrow, man, I'll be there Pratts on the packers.
Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
There you go, okay, practice squad.
Speaker 3 (01:52:55):
I was about to say the sounds right, yeah, there
you go.
Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
Michael Pratt to another two lane legend. Go ahead with
what you were saying.
Speaker 3 (01:53:01):
I'm just excited.
Speaker 4 (01:53:02):
I'm just excited to see Spencer Ratler live tomorrow with
some weapons back. I am excited to see that game.
If you did a cover that game. I just think
that the Chargers defense man is just it's what Harbo does.
He's gonna play defense. They're gonna be physical at the
point of attack and the trenches, and that's what they've been.
I know bost is going tomorrow, but you know, Derwin
James and all these other guys they got man.
Speaker 2 (01:53:19):
So also a quick score update. Michigan up twenty four
seventeen over Little Brother as alex Orgy's in for a
gimmick play on third to keep the drive going to
run the clock down, scrambles for first down slots, gets
down Little Brothers at a timeouts one to four left
on the clock, first to ten. Me again, so Little Brother,
take your glass back to East Lanton.
Speaker 3 (01:53:41):
Leave the Paul Buying trophy in and r Bart We'll
see you next year.
Speaker 2 (01:53:47):
Bye bye, game over.
Speaker 4 (01:53:48):
Run the clock out, a couple of kneel downs, and
me Chigan gets the five and three. Coming up next,
we'll wrap the show.
Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
Aaron Torres Jason Martin will be on at the top
of the hour and you know what, honest I say
this without jokes, without provocation, like legitimately, those two are
the best two people in the nation recapping college football
and a day like today where everything kind of states
like where there's no major upset, didn't you know what
I'm saying, there's no like this is the story Capital,
you know, t s the story. Those guys will have
(01:54:19):
everything you need to know about college football and all
these little intricacies on the playoff and everything. They can't
beat it. They'll be at the top of the hour.
We'll be right back. Coming up next Martin VJA, Fox
Sports Radio, Martin VJ comeing to you live at the
tire rack dot Com studios, Fox Sports Radio airon tours
and Jason Martin coming up next. But if you missed
(01:54:39):
any of today's show, be sure to check it out
because shortly after the show hour podcast we'll be going up.
If you missed any of today's show, what I want
to hear that before to be sure to check out
though by the guys, just search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcasts.
Speaker 3 (01:54:52):
Might also be sure to follow, rate and review the podcasts.
Speaker 2 (01:54:56):
Again, just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your
out of the guys, and you'll see this show posted
right after we get off of the air. VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
You said you had a you gotta wanted to take
a view towards the future here.
Speaker 2 (01:55:07):
Yeah, you think they might see something.
Speaker 3 (01:55:09):
Go ahead, predict what will be going on.
Speaker 4 (01:55:11):
I think by the time we get back to these
seats next week there will be some NFL teams who
seasons will be over. I am predicting as I did
earlier in the show. The buffalos came, I'm sorry them,
bum ash Jets. I think you're gonna go down at
New England tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:55:28):
And fall the two and six.
Speaker 4 (01:55:30):
And then it starts to talk to the conversation of
what are we gonna do with Aaron Rodgers, Like do
we move on to next year with this guy, dude,
or do.
Speaker 2 (01:55:38):
We blow this thing completely up? Is Garrett Wilson now
on the table? List Sauce Garder, mister grabby Grabs? Is
he on the table like it's Breese Hall on the table.
Speaker 4 (01:55:50):
I think by this time next week we are trying
to figure out what them bum ash Jets are.
Speaker 3 (01:55:56):
Doing this week NFL wise.
Speaker 4 (01:55:57):
I think that's a storyline we'll look at because he's
an attention guy.
Speaker 1 (01:56:00):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:56:01):
Well, he's out of excuses at this point, Rogers, Right.
The head coach is no good, he's gone right. The
offensive coordinators, well he's been replaced. The wide receivers aren't
good enough. Well, Devonte Adams is not on the team.
There's only one answer left. It's the quarterback. It's got
to be the quarterback. At that point. It's a quarterback.
So I think, I think what we'll see this time
(01:56:21):
next week is Aaron Rodgers use over one and a
half words that have more than four syllables. Have you
seen some guys moleplulous like I have a master's degree
in journalist San Guen and it was a dy new ma,
San that's.
Speaker 3 (01:56:41):
Delicious with salmon, you know, you know?
Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
But no, no, he said, we have not reached the
deu mat of the season. You know what du mom means.
I didn't know before this end. That's what it means
because your context clues. End is what it means.
Speaker 3 (01:56:54):
Okay, I was gonna, I was gonna ask you guys,
what is that? I did look it up, but the
context said end.
Speaker 2 (01:56:59):
I got a master's agreed, I right for a living
and danew Ma ha hah, God like you know right,
that's stark.
Speaker 4 (01:57:08):
Yeah, that's another thing I look forward to next week, guys,
littlet NBA. Denver Nuggets have started owing too now have Utah, Minnesota,
Toronto and Brooklyn over the next week. I think when
we get back to the seats on Saturday, if we
do an NBA topic, I think one of them will be.
I know it's eighty two games in this early but
(01:57:30):
if there any panic in the minute in the Denver
Nuggets are and are they going backwards? You saw an
anonymous GM had his comments about Jamal Murray. There's an
anonymous NBA player that said, boom, dude, he's easy to
guard now. He hasn't added nothing to his game. Are
they going? They lost tonight right to the Clippers. The
Clippers don't have anybody. They lost it home to the
Clippers to night and Yo Kic put up forty one.
(01:57:52):
All right, this time next week, are we asking ourselves
is there any cause of concern for the Denver Nuggets.
Speaker 3 (01:57:59):
At this time next week?
Speaker 2 (01:58:02):
Wellster say, like Bronnie James has played three NBA minutes
so far this year. By this time next week, Briannie
James will have played three NBA minutes, and now we're
not gonna get This is the circus everybody wanted to
We're just not gonna do it. They got it, they
got the first two minutes out of the way, and
(01:58:22):
right now they are just turning pages on the calendar
until we get to the start of the G League.
That'll be the next time you see Brinnie James playing
any type of me. That'll be the next time you
see Brinnie James playing more than three minutes of basketball
at a time.
Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
By the time we get to this spot, also next week,
next Saturday will be November the second, and it will
be Game seven, possibly of the World Series.
Speaker 3 (01:58:49):
When we get to this point next.
Speaker 2 (01:58:50):
Week, I think we will have a Major League Baseball
twenty twenty four champion already crown. There will be no
game next Saturday, as a Game seven, the series would
be over. I know my buddy in New York is
sick because Aaron Judge truck out again right now, top
of the ninth and again a J. S.
Speaker 3 (01:59:08):
Martin narrator has got it all come up next
