Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, so.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
It's gonna be one of those days.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Carry as the Seahawks are fourth and goal from the
one and a half yard line and Geno Smith trips
going back from center as Connor Williams the center stepped
on Geno's foot, so the Seahawks unable to take a
turnover and cash in on points. Bill Slow lead that game.
As you heard Monty say, seven to three. We are

(00:26):
broadcasting live with the Tirec dot Com studios. Tyrec dot
com will help you get there at unmatch selection fast
free shipping, free road has a protection in over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tirec dot com The Way tire Buying
should be one of five games going on right now,
and no game has more than seven points. In fact,
we've in addition to the seven to three game that

(00:46):
we've got, we actually have a three to two ball game.
As Moncy told you about this on the heels of
what was a wacky early window in Week eight, a
week where every single team in the NFL is playing
in the middle of the season. It's the NFL. We
say it every single week, just when you think things
are kind of starting to settle In. You have the
Browns upsetting the Ravens, your Jets. You're one of your

(01:10):
former teams losing on the road to the Patriots, while
the other former team of yours, Arizona Cardinals, came back rallied,
got a big win against the Dolphins today. Crazy crazy
day in the National Football League. Yeah, I got to
pump my fifth for my Cardinals. You call them early
before the season started to be a really competitive team,
a team that fights.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
They fought, won a game down in the wire and
the Kluts pulled it out by one and big win
for them. And yeah, it's a great window for the
second window here these games that are going on. The Saints,
Alvin Kamara has taken the ball into Chargers territory. Again.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
That is a three to two ball game. But I
still just can't get passed from what happened earlier in
these games of what Cleveland did today to the Baltimore Ravens.
I thought that they would be spirited. I thought that
there would be some energy and it was an emotional
week for the entire city of Cleveland as they lost

(02:05):
their play by play voice Jim Donovan, who had not
been doing games this year, because of his cancer diagnosis
and has been dealing with it the last couple of years.
He unfortunately passed away this week. So it's an emotional time.
It's also off of a week where DeShawn Watson ruptures
is achilles tended. So now you have Jamis Winston starting
in the game, and here this Ravens team comes in

(02:26):
and you know, the Cleveland fans dislike the Ravens, so
many emotions. Amazing for Cleveland to channel all of those
things and put them into a victory today.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Great win by Cleveland. This is the team that I
thought would show up this year, spirited on defense, flying around,
making plays, a competent quarterback in there that's moving, giving
the offensive life and moving the ball down the field.
And we talked about it. I knew once James got
the call. I said, he's a he's a leader of men.
He's a guy that can have those guys rally. He's

(02:55):
not afraid of the moment. He's going to make some
bad plays, which he usually does in the game, but
he's gonna make a lot of good plays and a
lot of winning plays as well. And so for them
to come out and with all the stuff that they
had going on. To come back and beat a team
that you know, people were just calling last week the
best team in football on their home field was a
big win for those guys.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Jamis Winston twenty seven or forty one, three hundred and
thirty four yards and three touchdowns in that victory. Yes,
but you were calling for this last week. I did
not have confidence in Jameis Winston. I felt that maybe
not the game had passed him by. But the jamis
that we knew in Tampa, even the one that threw
thirty interceptions one season, I didn't think that was him anymore.
The knee injury when he played in New Orleans, bouncing

(03:38):
around a couple of different places, I didn't think that
that Jameis Winston was going to return. And he was
the main reason why they won today. Oh man.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
He was the driving force. Again. If you have competent
quarterback playing, you have a defense that we saw last
year that was one of the best, you give them
some energy to give them a chance to take a break,
can take a seat and actually watch the game a
little bit and get some rhythm. Then you know you
have a chance to play at your level. And I
think that's when we talk about complimentary football. It isn't

(04:09):
about three yards in the cloud or dust and you know,
being able to you know, always just kind of take
time away from the game, but it's giving your team
some energy. And I think what Jamison did today, what
Jamis did today was was just that gave his team's
energy some life, and we saw the performance today.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
We may have a turnover in Los Angeles is the
Saints were near midfield and the pairs. Appears that Spencer
Rattler is thrown an interception on a pass that was
intended for Taysom Hill, but it went off of Taysom
Hill's fingertips and it appears that it's going to be
an interception. This is what I'll say. The Chargers are

(04:47):
challenging the interception. They may have ruled it incomplete on
the field, so we will get a look at that.
They're actually going to take a time out and review things.
But the Chargers may have gotten the football back after
that big play by Alvin Kamara. The Browns thing is
just there's so many different layers to it. Miles Garrett
shows up with a terminator mask today, but just the

(05:08):
simple fact of it surely feels like ownership wanted Deshaun
Watson to be the quarterback as long as possible, and
and that has now got an interesting twist of it
as well, just to see how the Jamis energy trickles
down to everyone else. I underestimated that that was a
big thing that I that I maybe I overest underestimated.

(05:33):
Maybe the Ravens underestimated the Browns today coming in from
from how well that they've been playing. But yeah, just
I don't want to say it was out of nowhere,
but there were just a lot of forces on Cleveland's
side that allow them to get their second win of
the season today against a darn goood Baltimore Ravens team.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yeah, I'm not going to give the Baltimore give Baltimore
a pass here and say they didn't play well. I
think that's I think that's where I think somebody was
not watching the game or not paying intensta to get
all the way throughout. That would be the easy pass
to say. I just think it was Cleveland. I think
they came and they played better, and we talked about
it earlier. The NFL is a game of any given Sunday,

(06:10):
A team can win if they come with their a game,
and this is a pretty much an a game for Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Josh Allen on a third and five just fumbled the
ball deep in his own territory. However, it was recovered
by Tyd Johnson of Buffalo, and in fact, when Alan
fumbled it, he actually kicked it forward about ten yards
and ended up getting a first down on the third
and five call, so really could have been disastrous for
the Bills there, who already had one turnover that set

(06:37):
Seattle up in good field position they were able to
dodge just the Seahawks were stopped to inside the two
yard lines. We told you a bit earlier, but it's
a wet, soggy day in Seattle and Josh Allen having
some difficult times holding onto the football. Just one of
the five games that we are watching today. I do
want to touch on your New York Jets as well
as they fall to the New England Patriots. As we

(06:58):
talked about the early reasons alts of this matchup in
these matchups in week eight twenty five to twenty two.
The New York Jets are now are They are now
two and six on the season. I laughed because I
thought the Jets were a sure thing. I had a
survivor pool picked the Jets. You're not gonna lose to
New England, right this is as must must win game.

(07:21):
Yet they find a way to lose. You've now got
his son Reddick in the fold, so that's no longer
an excuse. They basically have run out of excuses with
the Jets. And now you wonder how how does this
thing even stay afloat when you lose on the road
to New England today? Who lost Drake May in the
first half. It's dysfunction at its highest. It really is,

(07:41):
from top to bottom, from owner to quarterback to defense.
I mean you can point blame everywhere. Not to say
Aaron Rodgers didn't he didn't stink up the joint today,
but this team is bad right now, and there's no
more excuses. The defense is in.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
That's such way, s an Aaron Rodgers take the team
down and they score the go ahead touchdown. You want
your top one of your your top rated defense from
last year to come out and get a stop against
the Patriots. Get a stop, yes, and they can't do
it with all the talk they've done all season about oh,
we got ten all proles on this team, where are they.
Nobody's showing up to play. And I talked about it

(08:20):
even yesterday. I was on with Steve yesterday in the
place of Monzi yesterday talking a little bit about the
Jets and all the talk about all these great players
that they have, and they just aren't getting the job done.
And those guys are the leaders of that team aren't
getting it done. As you can tell, I'm a little
animated today be I talk about it that way, but
it's it's tough to see.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
It's there's a botched extra point, bad snap, well, weird
kick by Greg Zerlin doesn't go through zerline, misses another
field goal in the game. When they actually the Jets
actually do go ahead and score to take a lead
late twenty two to seventeen, they get a delay of
game call on the two point conversion, which then they

(09:02):
have to run their conversion from the seven yard line,
because what good is it going up six in that scenario.
Also could have been good to have a take a
time out in that scenario, as it was, but they didn't,
so then they have to run their conversion from the seven.
Rogers doesn't throw it into the end zone and they
get stopped a couple of yards short, and then the Patriots,

(09:23):
with that five point deficit, go down and score. They
go for two, by the way, and then easily get it,
which makes it the twenty five to twenty two game.
So you could say that the other two point conversion
didn't matter. No, it mattered because the Patriots wouldn't have
gone for two in that scenario to go up by three.
They likely would have just kicked the extra point. Maybe
they would have gone for two for the win. Maybe
that Maybe that's the case as well. But then the Jets,

(09:45):
just the way that they even defended the two point
conversion just complete lackluster and couldn't get in a position
for a game winning try that was not going to
be automatic the way that Greg zerline was kicking today.
Two and six and six, you're two and six when
you fired your head coach, made a change for the
offensive coordinator, acquired Devontae Adams, and finally got his son

(10:09):
Reddick in the camp. There is nothing else that they
can do. You have a trade deadline coming up in
about a week and a half now. It's actually on
election Day for those that don't know, so you've got
that span of time as well. To I don't know,
You're not gonna do anything. The only thing that you
maybe do if you're in the New York Jets is
sell because right now you have the same record as
those New England Patriots.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
And that's exactly where I was going with it. It
could be sale time, but I don't think. I just
don't see it be in sale time. With the way
that Woody has went all land with everything here, he's
he's it's almost planning, it's almost playing a bad game
of poker. He sewed his hand from the beginning. Yeah,
and we kind of saw that. We note that he
was all lab. We signed an older quarterback in Aaron Rodgers,

(10:50):
a legend obviously, but not playing that way right now.
But then you go out and get Davante Adams, you
finally bring Hassan Reddick in, You have all these other
names and people that talk a lot. That's you expect
to step up and play that way, and you know,
and you fire your head coach, which during the season,
which we talked about before, which doesn't sound like the
good move during the season, sounds like panic. And now

(11:10):
we're here, I think it is extreme panic. And again
I think we are seeing this trickle down effect. You
talked about the Jets and their defense and their all
world defense and the all pros that we think that
they have all across the field, but defensively as well.
So now you're on a five game losing streak and
you gave up thirty seven points to Russell Wilson last week.
You gave up twenty five points to two different quarterbacks

(11:32):
for the New England Patriots today, And to me, that's
the trickle down effect. That don't mean to keep on
belaboring this point, but when you fire your head coach
and then you anoint the defensive coordinators the interim head coach,
your defense is now taking a hit because you do
not have your defensive coordinator fully invested with your defense.

(11:53):
And the offense may be fine, whether it's Todd Downing
or Nathaniel Hackett making play calls, the defense is not
stafe to your point, And I think it's the shared
responsibilities that are now going on with the New York Jets,
which then again makes the Robert Solid firing even more crazy. Dan,
nothing about it is solid, So even just having solid

(12:15):
competency from top to bottom, they don't have that. Everything
about the game isn't smooth. I mean, they're wasting timeouts
when they shouldn't be wasting timeouts. They're getting delay of
games when they shouldn't be getting delay of games. Just
the flow of the game is so disjointed with them.
It's like it's really bad to watch.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
These carry roads. I'm Dan Bayer, Fine met carry twenty
five roads. You can find me at Dan Byer on
Fox five games of the Slate Window. Chiefs right now
facing a second down and nine with six thirty five
to go in the first half, down ten to seven
to the Raiders kick the field goal a little bit earlier,
but the Chiefs do have the football. In Las Vegas Territory,
Chargers do have the football against the Saints and that

(12:55):
three to two battle middle of the second quarter three
to two Charger in favor of that one. The Commanders
have a six tonthing lead on the Bears, where Jane
Daniels is starting today for Washington. In the showdown of
one versus two with the top two picks of the draft,
the Carolina Panthers with Bryce Young starting, are even with
the Broncos at seven apiece that game in the middle

(13:17):
of the second quarter, while the Bills and Seahawks are
in that seven to three barn Burner in a soggy
day in Seattle, Buffalo does have the ball in Seattle
Territory with about a minute to go. Uh Buffalo up
four in that contest. He's carry Roads. I'm dan Byer
coming up next. It was the return of Tua, but
not the results they wanted. We'll talk about it next

(13:37):
year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's the al Pro Carry Roads.
I'm dan Byer. Five games of this late window, Denver's
in the end zone bo Nix touchdown as to Adam Trautman,
fourteen to seven Broncos. Under six minutes to go until halftime.
The Chiefs are driving third and goal down three to
the Raiders ten to seven, so they approached the two
minute warning. In Las Vegas, Chargers still with that three

(14:13):
to two edge on the Saints. Well, the Commanders have
a six to nothing lead against the Bears, and the
Commanders are knocking on the door in that one versus
two battle. That's the one versus two of the draft picks.
As we talked about Kayleb Williams against Jayden Daniels, and
in Seattle, Josh Allen is just throwing a touchdown pass
to Dalton Kincaid. Extra point is good fourteen to three.

(14:34):
In maybe a play that shouldn't have happened. Seattle had
Buffalo in a third and six and Buffalo had an
illegal motion. They had two guys moving at the same time.
Josh Allen kind of gave up on the play, but
Derek Call the Seahawks edge rusher came in hit Alan Late,
hit him in the chin with his helmet, was flagged
fifteen yards. It actually gave the Bills a first down.
It wasn't an offsetting penalty. Gave the Bills a fresh

(14:56):
set of downs even though there was the illegal motion penalty.
Bill scored. But maybe the bigger story, Carrie was Derek Colin.
Then Jared read the veteran gon in the Hall's face
and the two start fighting on the sideline, on the
field and then on the sidelines again.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Yes, bad, bad football play. You cannot give Josh Allen
another chance there thirty six. He's throwing the ball away.
He's giving up. It would have been thirty eleven in
that situation. You force them to then possibly get a
stop on third down and eleven, make them kick a
long field goal in that windy, rainy Dan Seattle, and
it's a different outcome. But now fourteen to three. But

(15:31):
the biggest story of which you said, the fight, the
scuffle on the sideline, for that to continue all the
way to the sideline and really get into real fifthicuff situation,
just can't allow that to happen. Tempers flare no times
because it's such a pivotal game and such a tightly
contested game, so it's tough, but hopefully it doesn't permeate
into the locker room because that can be ugly.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
He's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. Let's focus on the
game from earlier today in Florida where the Packers got
to win against the Jaguars thirty to twenty seven. Sh
It on Fox.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Let me now.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
It's time for the NFL on Fox Focus.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
Jonathan Vilma was the analyst for that game. As Green
Bay improves to six and two while the Jaguars are
two and six. Jonathan Vilma, welcome back to Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
How you guys doing.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
We are doing better than the Seahawks. Sideline is right
now and maybe Jared Read and Derek Hall are working
it out. How often do you remember fights on the
sidelines between players back in your playing days?

Speaker 4 (16:36):
Oh, not very often. Arguments, yeah, a little pushing, shoving, yeah,
but yeah, never word really gets to blow.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
So that's that's rare, minus that one time. Man, you
got into it. We're going to keep it low though,
right JV. We'll keep it low.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
Well, I didn't want to tell you about it, let's
hear it.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Yeah, no, that's all.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Oh, you guys were always on the same page, so
we were always good. My god, Packers were good today,
just barely over the Jaguars, doing it without an injured
Jordan Love. Malik Willis kind of comes in, not necessarily
saves the day, but the ship doesn't go awry and
Green Bay goes to six and two. What was most
impressive to you, Jonathan about watching this Packers team today?

Speaker 4 (17:22):
The different ways that they either kept the lead, bought
back defensively when they needed to play, and then of
course with Milik Willis stepping in no flinch from the team.
I think that was very impressive to see a team,
frankly have to figure out what facet or which way
they were going to win the game and get it

(17:43):
done because at first it seemed like they wanted to
rely on Jordan Law's arms. They couldn't do that. Then
defense steps up and the defense hits a little snag
at Jaguars get their rhythm and then incomes Milik Willis
and they decided they're just going to run the ball right.
So it was very interesting, very impressive to see the

(18:04):
Packers just find that old cliche find a way to win.
They literally did that today.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
J V. You're a student of the game and the
intricacies of the game, I know really gets to you
and you really adore that part of it. With Jordan
Love obviously super talented, I think a quarterback that can
get them to where they want to go, but he
has a turnover issue. Can you tell me what from
what you've seen in film that's allowing him to throw
so many interceptions.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Yeah, so today it was we got to get credit
to Jari and Jones. He just made a great play
on the ball.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Under cut Romeo.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Dodds for that one in film I've seen a combination
of a quarterback that trusts his arm. Yeah, he is
very confident his arm. I've also seen where he can
at times get fooled by you know, one of these
two catch deepex stereo, you know what I'm talking about.
So I've seen that happen where it's just a really

(19:04):
good defensive scheme or play and then he gets beat.
Which every quarterback you know, gets beat by one of
those schemes every now and then, right, So that doesn't
really concern me. I would say the plays where he
trussed his arm too much, and I'm talking about there's
pressure coming, he's falling back, tried to throw a twenty

(19:25):
yards instead of just throwing a check down or taking
a sack like that's when it becomes an issue. And
I saw that early in the season. Then he got hurt.
I saw it once or twice. But I also see
so much good. I see a guy that knows exactly
where he wants to go with the football, has tremendous

(19:45):
trust in his receivers, knows the system, great command of
the offense. So it just reminds me of a if
you're winning, it's all good, right, And if you're losing.
Now people are going to point to that and say
that the issue no different than that far right, when
very farr things were going well, no one said anything

(20:06):
about it turnovers. And then when he decided to or
if they decided to go on a three game leasing streak,
then everyone started talking about a turnover.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Jonathan Wilmot joining us here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio,
saw the Packers top the Jaguars thirty to twenty seven.
What's the vibe around the Jags? They just spent to
play two games in London, come back here back in
the States. We're wondering about Doug Peterson's job security. They
seem to at least answer the bell today, even in
a loss against Green Bay. But what's the vibe around

(20:37):
the Jaguars right now at two and six?

Speaker 4 (20:40):
I would say very positive. When we spoke with the
Jaguars during the week, it was very upbeat, very positive.
They had a very strong win against the Patriots when
they were down ten to nothing, and they feel like
they're a player two away, which today you can are
you and say they're one hundred percent correct. The problem

(21:03):
is that the NFL is not up for you know,
consolation prizes and any excuses. Right, it's a win now business.
So Doug recognizes that. They all recognize that, and I
think that they are a solutions oriented team right now,
starting with the head, coach, quarterback, et cetera. And that's

(21:27):
the way they've been approaching it. You could see it
in the way they play today. Play it's hard. It's
really hard executed, look really good at times, and at
times they struggle. And that's been, frankly, the way they've
been off.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Several jav I want to know about Green Bay. We
talk about a lot Jordan love right now, and obviously
so in that offense and what they can do. But
I think their defense is going to be the X
factor for them, and I know they got a lot
of players over that I can make plays, starting with
my Louisville boy at corner Jaya Alexander. Talk about that
defense and what they need to do to get to
the next level and possibly propel them over let's say

(22:00):
a Detroit in that same division.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Consistency, you see a lot of good The takeaways are
the biggest thing, you know, that's the ultimate equalizer in
any game. You get two takeaways, three takeaways, more than
likely you're going to win the game consistency in the
sense that you have a ten point lead and you're

(22:23):
giving up plays up from your basic defense. Right if
you're in cover two, cover four, there are certain plays
that you just shouldn't give up, which it looks like
they did today. The run defense did get better, and
I think that they need to sure up the basics
of their defense so when they get a lead, they

(22:44):
can hold the league. And if they do that, then
they can frankly score with anyone outscore anyone, and the
defense would then step up make the plays they need
to in those, as I call like basic situations.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
I love them.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
I really think that Green Bay's you know, in for
the long haul this year. I don't know how long
that haul is. I may reveal it later on in
this show, but but yeah, they even see, as Jonathan said,
how well they played without Jordan Love just to be
able to run the ball, and Josh Jacobs has been,
you know, such a great addition to them this offseason. Jonathan,

(23:22):
we appreciate the time you and Carrie can talk any
other day of the week, but I will talk to
you the next time you come on the show.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
How about that av it's good.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Appreciate it, Carrie.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
I love your brother, Love you too. Man.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Now we'll go with Man.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
We'll spend more time on his Hurricanes the next time
he comes out.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Well, no way, no way.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
You're not down with that, Nope, none at all. All right,
how are you down with a Chiefs touchdown? I don't
like that either. Well, it happened. Moncey Belanos is here
with the latest is we're live for the tyrech dot
Com studios to give us up to date of what's
happening in all of these late games and so much more. Monsey,
what's going on?

Speaker 5 (23:54):
But it's National tight End Day, Carrie, and at least
a touchdown for the Chiefs went to a tight end.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
I think that's on the day probably.

Speaker 6 (24:02):
Yes, Yes, Kyle Pitts had a couple earlier today, but
we'll get into way.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
Yes, the Chiefs have taken the lead with that touchdown
pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelcey. They're up on
the Raiders fourteen to ten with a little over a
minute to go in.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
The first half.

Speaker 5 (24:17):
The Raiders, I think, just have punted the ball back,
yes to the Chiefs. So the Raiders have the ball
the Chiefs have the ball again with one minute to go.
The Commanders hit their third field goal. They're beating the
Bears nine zero with about five minutes to go in
the first half. Bo Nicks with his second touchdown pass
of the day. Denver is up on the Panthers fourteen
to seven with about three minutes to go in the
first half. The Chargers also just scored eight touchdown JK.

(24:40):
Dobbins with a rushing one, but the extra point was missed,
So the Chargers are beating the Saints ninety two. I know,
Cameron Dicker, come on an extra It didn't dooint get
into anything.

Speaker 6 (24:49):
It just went hard.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
Left ninety seconds to go in the first half again,
LA of nine to two against the Saints, and at
halftime it's the Bills who are beating the Seahawks fourteen
to three. Josh Allen has thrown for one hundred and
fifty two yards and two touchdowns of the late This
one was to Dalton kin.

Speaker 6 (25:01):
Kaid, another tight end. There we go.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
The games that wrapped up earlier today the Eagles. They
defeated the Bengals thirty seven to seventeen. The Bengals have
not won at home the Eagles have not scored at all.

Speaker 6 (25:13):
This season in the first quarter. She has a one.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
Still tho still have not scored in the first quarter
this season, but they won today. Saquon Barkley, though twenty
two carries one hundred and eight yards, no touchdowns because
Jalen Hurts had three rushing touchdowns, so those fat years.
Of course, I know those fantasy managers are probably.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
Not happy about that.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
The Browns defeated the Ravens twenty nine to twenty four.
This is the first time that Cleveland has scored.

Speaker 6 (25:34):
Twenty points this season.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
Jamis Winston twenty seven to forty one, three hundred and
thirty four yards and three touchdowns in the win. Derreck
Henry just eleven carries, seventy three yards and one touchdown.
The Lions crushed the Titans fifty two to fourteen. Jared
Goff simple twelve to fifteen, eighty.

Speaker 6 (25:51):
Five yards and three touchdowns.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
This is it he saw, and David Montgomery wanted to
get in on the fund, so he had a rushing
touchdown and then had a touchdown pass to Alman Ross.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
Same so he wanted to do a little bit of everything.

Speaker 5 (26:01):
The Cardinals walked it off with a thirty four yard
field goal by Chad Ryland to beat the Dolphins twenty
eight to twenty seven in his return to.

Speaker 6 (26:09):
A Togo I low on two hundred and thirty four
yards on a touchdown.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
Patriots came back to beat the Jets twenty five to
twenty two.

Speaker 6 (26:15):
New York started with Drake may And at quarterback.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
He even had a seventeen yard rushing touchdown, but they
lost him to a concussion, so Jacoby Brissett had to.

Speaker 6 (26:22):
Come in and save the day. He did.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Ramandre Stevenson had two rushing touchdowns in the victory. The
Falcons held on to defeat the Buccaneers thirty one to
twenty six. Kyle Pitts four catches, ninety one yards and
two touchdowns. There we go another tight end. The Packers survived.
They beat the Jaguars thirty to twenty seven. Jordan Love
did exit the game with the groin injury. There's no
further details on it. Josh Jacobs had twenty five carries
one hundred and twenty twenty seven yards and two touchdowns

(26:45):
in the win, and the Texans survived twenty three to
twenty against the Colts. Joe Mixon twenty five carries, one
hundred and two yards and one touchdown. Sefon Diggs did
exit the game. I haven't seen an update yet. It
seemed like he suffered a non contact leg injury, but
he did.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
Walk away way. Yeah, so it was kind of it
was kind of funky. But no further details on that yet.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
And in the w n b A, the Fever parted
ways with head coach Christy Sides today and then she tweeted, quote,
leave it better than you found it, peace sign. You
can't respond to her. She left us, so you can't
respond on the comments. But that's so, she tweeted, and
show he Tani should play in game three tomorrow, World
Series Yankees Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
He'll be back.

Speaker 6 (27:26):
That's there. Everything is saying he's gonna play. I thought
he's in a great spot. He'll be playing.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Did you enjoy game two last night?

Speaker 6 (27:32):
I did too much? Too much? I you know too much?

Speaker 2 (27:37):
You want too No.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
I made it here, I was I brought the breakfast
breed and nothing.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
No.

Speaker 6 (27:42):
I just I was struggling.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
That's all.

Speaker 6 (27:44):
Let's just say that. But too much.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
There are some Dodger fans out in the UH bleachers
that were also just going crazy.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
They had fun.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
Yeah, I was not in the creatures.

Speaker 6 (27:57):
I was not one of those.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Fans they're on it's not over.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
But it just have been fun and exciting games, you know,
And at the end it got.

Speaker 6 (28:06):
Very My mom text missions had a heart attack.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
At the end there, man, I thought I thought we
had it. You know, you know that you know, yes,
I know, I know, yeah, I know.

Speaker 6 (28:14):
I thought I thought they had it too. And then
I was like, Aaron Judge is going to finally hit
the ball.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Nope, nope, no, no, he has not.

Speaker 6 (28:20):
He has not hit the ball. You feel so bad
for him.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
It's it's tough.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
It is all right, enough baseball talk. Let's get back
to the football.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
It's week. We ate in the NFL five games about
the Eagles, and then you guys are you know like it.
We're like talking about game two and.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
Games what technically you opened the door to the car.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
I just didn't think that there were twenty other people
coming into the door. I just thought there was one
person at the door and saying hell, it's like.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
That mean where you open the door and the Simpsons
and the guy walks in. He keeps going back in. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Yeah, there was a point in that Eagles Bengals game
today where I thought the Eagles, if they could, we're
going to do the brotherly shove from the three yard
in and just getting just getting a yard and getting
a yard and a half or getting two yards at
a at a clip, to the point that Monty said
to sa Quon Barkley's great day. But it's also then
Jalen hurts at the goal line. Yeah, it's proved it's

(29:15):
not indefensible anymore. Teams have stopped it. But to the
Eagles point of all, right, now you've got to stop
it two or three times in a row. They ended
up it was very close on whether Jalen hurts gun
into the end zone the second time, but I guarantee
they were going to run the same exact plane. It
basically started from the from the three yard line. Maybe
it was somewhat representative of how the Eagles took control

(29:40):
of the game against the Bengals today, but it is
a very very difficult play to stop, and one that
the Eagles may just end up running from the three
yard line on in from now on.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
I hate that play so much, but it's so effective.
I do want to give the Eagles some credit, though
it's I've been very I've been very down on them
and their culture. For them to come back and play
the way they did in this game against the Bengals,
I thought the Bengals would win this game, but the
Eagles dominated. I know Massi said they didn't score in
the first quarter, but the other three quarters they did very,

(30:10):
very well. So they look good today.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
There's an issue with Cincinnati as well, and they were
without T Higgins today, but that doesn't necessarily tell the
whole story of the It wasn't a secret. But one
of the reasons why they also played well in their
Super Bowl year three years ago and two years ago
when they made it to the AFC Championship Game was
they were actually they had a good defense, yep. And
now you've got a defense that's giving up thirty seven

(30:34):
points to the Eagles that gave up just as many
to the Commanders. Both good teams. But those are games
that Cincinnati would usually win, and if they're dealing with injuries,
maybe they can't get into the shootouts that you would
have hoped. It's a different Bengals team. They've kind of
looked like they've taken a little bit of a step
back in offense when you don't have t Higgins or
you don't have Joe Mixon there anymore. But then defensively,

(30:57):
there's nothing there to be able to pick you up
on that side of things.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
But you just stayed at something in your last the
last part of that statement, they cannot run the ball.
I think coming into this game they were the twenty
eighth ranked running offense in the league. And so when
you can't run the ball and you're solely dependent on
Joe Burrows making plays, there's gonna be some there's gonna
be some turnovers there, and there's gonna be some situations
where you're giving the other offense the ball back and

(31:22):
not consuming any of the time. And so the balance
of that team is definitely all for sure.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
It's in.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah, they were.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
You got to work in concert with each other, yes,
and if one isn't, then the other one is ending
up taking it. So I get it. But their their
defense also seemed to to make plays at big times,
and right now it's just not happening in Cincinnati. All right,
He's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. We are live from
the Tireraq Dot com Studios, and I agree with you
on the Eagles thing. I think that they've turned a corner.

(31:51):
I think this is a different Eagles team than the
one that we saw in maybe the first five weeks
of the season. Again, how far they'll go in the NFC,
I'll tell you about them in the past, coming up
at the top of the hour, but coming up next
Fantasy numbers. It's been a crazy day. Monty told you
the crazy stat line of Jared Goff. That's just where
it starts, because there's a lot of other hits and
misses that Ryan Berschinger will get to the Chiefs of

(32:13):
that four point lead, Denver's knocking on the door again.
It appears that bon Nicks has gotten down to about
the half yard line in their game against Carolina, already
with a fourteen to seven lead, Saints kicked a field goal,
it's nine to five as they near halftime in Los Angeles.
Commanders with that nine to nothing lead, by the way,
gives me a perfect opportunity to say, awful uniforms by

(32:37):
the Commanders. Those alternate black uniforms are worthless. Tip of
the cap to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are we
are honoring in studio with our bucko. Bruce Mini helmet
has made an appearance today even in their loss to
the Atlanta Falcons, so commanders a thumbs down Buccaneers thumbs
up when it comes to fashion and the Bills and
Seahawks just underway in the second half as Buffalo leads

(32:59):
that contest by a score of fourteen to three. Actually,
let's just keep it here just for a second, so
we can tell you is the Chiefs were about to
kick a field goal and bow Nicks was stopped at
the one inch line. We'll tell you. As the Broncos
face a second in goal against Carolina, you'd almost think
with Bryce Young in the game that a two touchdown
lead would be very difficult to overcome, especially with Denver's

(33:21):
defense being as good as it is in this scenario.
And the second down run stopped just short, so Carolina's
defense at least holding for the time being. Harrison Butker
is on for a forty two yard field goal attempt
for Kansas City nearing the end of the first half,
and it is good. So the Chiefs are up seventeen
to ten in that game. In Las Vegas. A lot

(33:43):
of red in the crowd. A third down for the
Broncos and bow Knicks tried to do the old Drew
Brees and he did get in touchdown Denver extra point.
Coming up twenty to seven. Broncos lead the Panthers. He's
carry Roads on Dan Beyer Fantasy numbers. Next tire on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Dore listening no Fox Radio.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Trailing ten to seven. Mahomes races the right leg.

Speaker 7 (34:04):
Cons past Cottnescent tuxdown Towns on City. On a quick slant,
Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelsey for the fifty second time.
That is third in National Football League.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
History ninety six point five. The fan the chiefs of
radio network with that highlight. He's Carrie Rhodes, I'm Dan Beyer.
This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Bills are knocking
on the door facing a third in goal, up eleven
on the Seahawks, one of five games going on right now.
You heard the highlight from the Chiefs. They're up seven
at the half on the Raiders, seventeen to ten. It's

(34:41):
the Commanders leading the Bears by account of nine to
nothing late in the first half, while at the half
the Chargers a nine to five. I feel there should
be some Dolly Pardon music going on with the lead
on the Saints and the Broncos. Are that twenty one
to seven lead on the Panthers who are being led
by young today? Is Andy Dalton is not going to

(35:02):
play Hey, you have carte blanche to play this as
long as the Saints and Chargers remain nine to five. Ah,
I don't know. Maybe you'd rather be handcuffed in your
office than watch Charger Saints. Isn't that a scene in
the movie then they have Dadney Coleman. Yeah, because he
was such a such an awful boss and just a
perv and the whole deal. It was, Yeah, one of

(35:24):
the few movies that I've seen and remember the plot.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
You remember too?

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Yes, absolutely, thank you very much, Jane Fondo Lei, Tomlin right,
I love them all. It is just a classic yep,
all right, third and goal from the Bills from the
Seattle Seahawks eight and a half yard line. They're already
up eleven. They tried to Josh Allen quarterback drawing second down,
didn't get him anywhere. But instead it's Josh Allen throwing

(35:49):
into the end zone and intended for Dalton Kinkaid. But
it is knocked away. There is a flag on the play.
We will have to see on what the scenario is,
but looks like it could be against Buffalo, and it
is so, Seattle will decline that and the bills we'll
have to settle for a field goal attempt. He is
Carrie Rhoades, the All Pearl Finnament Carrie twenty five Roads.

(36:10):
You can find me at dan Byer on Fox. Let's
go over to Ryan Berschinger for the latest of what's
happening in the world of fantasy Fantasy heads and the
missis all right, bursch what do you got for week eight?

Speaker 8 (36:24):
Well, let's take a look at our early slate of
action here. Jalen Hurts is your top scoring quarterback on
the day sixteen of twenty for two thirty six in
a touchdown through the air, but ten rushes thirty seven
yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Devon A Chan
welcome back to the entire offense. Was able to get
it going with Tua back. Unfortunately that it lose but
Devon h Chan ten rushes for ninety seven yards on

(36:46):
the ground, six catches on eight targets for fifty yards
in a touchdown through the air, Cedric Tillman. If you
didn't pick him up this week, check your waivers and
see if he's there for next week. Seven catches on
nine targets for ninety nine yards and two touchdowns appears
to be the favorite target of Jamis Winston in an
offense that can now get it going. Kate Aughten is
your top scoring tight end on the day, and quite frankly,

(37:08):
this is a wonderful day for tight ends. Twelve tight
ends with double digits in full PPR formats, and Travis
Kelcey might might have been the thirteenth now. Kate Aughten
had nine catches on ten targets for eighty one yards
and two touchdowns. Some misses here Jordan Love. Yes, he
did leave the game with an injury halfway through, but
prior to that fourteen of twenty two for one hundred

(37:29):
and ninety six yards in an interception. This was a
matchup that a lot of people were targeting Jordan Love
against the Jaguars. Unfortunately did not go well for him.
But you can't spell Malik Willis without that w so ah,
very good for the Packers. Not many misses for starting
running backs today. Nick Chubb sixteen rushes, for fifty two yards.
Not much going on the ground there. Drake London, who's

(37:52):
had a wonderful season thus far, in a great matchup
with the Buccaneers. Unfortunately four catches on six targets for
only thirty four yards, and Michael Pittman Junior did have
six targets but only one catch for sixteen yards. And
those are some fantasy hits and misses from the early window.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
It's funny because when Malik Willis was in Tennessee, they
said that you can't spell them without three l's. Oh
go a little harsh.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Yeah, that's harsh, and he's bounced back.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
I thought it was thought it was pretty good playing well,
he yes, he is a w It was different with
the Titans.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
I got a question dog because I played right and
I never knew it was National tight End Day. I
wanted to do the teams know now that it's National
tight End Day and you're trying to get these guys involved.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
Maybe you know what I attributed it to National Sun's Day.
That's a Facebook holiday. In fact, there's two of them,
Like you don't even know that there's there's like a
fall one in a spring one never ever, growing up,
never it was there a National Sun's Day, Moncie. Was
there a National Daughter's Day that you remembered being honored
by your parents?

Speaker 6 (38:57):
No?

Speaker 5 (38:57):
But in Costa Rica there is a National kid Day, Okay,
and that I knew since I was little.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
So you would you get a gift?

Speaker 6 (39:04):
Yes? And so I would.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
And so now my nephew's guy gits from my grandparents.
It's like a coastro good thing. But you're right, there's
a national holiday for everything.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
That's how I feel about National tight Ends Day. It's
just completely made up fake parties, Dan Oh, I mean,
what are we doing, Like all of a sudden there's
a there's a tight End you special that was on
TV yesterday. We're just we're going overboard. I think we've
talked about the values of tight ends and teams that
win Super Bowls and how you need a good tight end,

(39:35):
but man to have their own day. By the way,
is it October twenty seventh or is it just week
eight in the NFL? Because if tight End Day was
on a Tuesday, it would kind of defeat the purpose, right.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
And what about leap on the Leap year?

Speaker 3 (39:47):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (39:48):
Is it still?

Speaker 3 (39:48):
To great point? By Carrie Rhodes Bill settled for a
field goal. They're up seventeen to three. Chargers with that
nine to five lead on the Saints. Commanders take a
nine to nothing lead against the Bay at halftime. Denver's
up twenty one to seven against Carolina and the Chiefs
that seven point edge on the Raiders. All right, who
is the king of the NFC right now? And who's

(40:09):
a threat to the throne. We'll talk about it next
on Fox.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
Another turnover in Seattle and tough times for the first
overall pick. It's all part of our late window going
on right now with five games as we are broadcasting
live from the tirec dot Com studios. Tirec dot com
will help you get there at unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road has a protection and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tirec dot Com the way tire buying should be. Ginosmith

(40:39):
picked off at midfield on a screen. I don't know
what was worse that it was deflected on a screen
and then picked off, or that the play would have
gone for negative five yards even if it was completed.
But Gino Smith is not a happy man. It almost
looks like he's crying on the sidelines for how bad
it's been for Seattle, who's been out gained basically three

(41:02):
to one today by the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
Yeah, I have to ugly turnover ugly play as well.
I mean, I know, second down you want to get
some positive yards, but Buffalo has hasn't really blitzed that
much this game. So to call a screen and that
and and that position on the field was an odd call.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
So would you rather have your quarterback be three of
eight for thirty three yards? Or would you rather have
your team have zero points? What would what would be?
What would you rather have? Oh? What's what's the better
of the two evils? Oh?

Speaker 2 (41:34):
Definitely quarterback three for eight? Okay? Yeah, yeah, because you
know we had a golf siding early he was twelve fifteen.
They won a game, right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:41):
Well the Bears have both of them, because you pointed
out just a tough first half for Caleb Williams against
this Commander's team that all of a sudden suddenly has
a defense.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Yes, they're looking good. I mean, obviously, Dan Quinn is
a defensive coordinator. Defensive coordinator in his past and his
history defensive minded coach, so I'm sure he's been pouring
all resources and to getting that up to speed with
the with the way the offense has been planned, so
the Bills to have the football near midfield. The Chargers
and Saints still nine to five, so we are still

(42:10):
good in playing Dolly parton whenever you want. Chiefs again
up seven on the Raiders, and then at the half
it's Steve Broncos and Panthers. We'll get to Broncos and
Panthers later on in the show because I know that's
the game everybody wants us to talk about. We will
hold off on talking Broncos Panthers at this point. Although
I'm mocking this may be a last chance for Bryce

(42:32):
Young tough circumstances this week. We figured that he would
see some game action because Carolina is going to have
to make a decision at one point or another. But
not surprising that Denver is taking control of this game
with their defense being one of the surprises of the
NFL this season and being one of the top defenses
out there. Yeah no, they're they're playing well. They're starting
to get some momentum here. Defense has been playing well,

(42:54):
but now the offense is starting to pick up a
little bit. Bo Nix is looking really good. We said
we'll talk about it, but they're starting to get some
things clicking.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
And that's all we need to talk about it, I think.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Is that it.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
We'll tell you when the Broncos score again, and then
when the Broncos win, that's what we will do. Sorry, Carolina,
That's just the way it is. I think, like Tennessee,
like to this point right now, Titans straighted away DeAndre
Hopkins earlier this week, they get crushed by Detroit today,
Tennessee's going to be in the market for a quarterback
in the draft. Yeah, it's okay to punt on the season.

(43:29):
I mean, if there's not much that as good as going.
There was some talk that Jeffrey Simmons could be on
the trade block that apparently was shot down according to
the NFL Network, you might as well, if you're Tennessee,
you might as well try to reboot this whole thing,
because I don't think Will Levis is your answer at quarterback,
and I'm not sure how many answers you have on
that team right now, and a quarterback you're likely going

(43:51):
to be taking one. So I just don't see a
lot to play for for the Tennessee Titans for the
rest of the year. Carolina Panthers maybe in the same boat.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Yeah, they're both in the same boat. You know, Bryce
Young hasn't and they both came in the same year,
both of those guys. And so I mean will Levis.
They gave him a chanz over Malik Willis when I
thought that they should have given Milik Willis more of
a chance. There they get rid of him, and you know,
Levis is the guy they chose to go with, and
he's been not good, That's all I'll say.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
It is an interesting point when you are to that
point of draft Willis in the third round, then are
you really solving the problem by taking Levis in the
second round? I don't necessarily think that you are Raiders
force a punt on the Chiefs. So Las Vegas will
take over down seven early in the second quarter, and
they're going to take over. It looks like in Kansas

(44:39):
City territory. Well, the Bills are facing a third and
five from the Seahawks thirty six yard line, up fourteen
in that game, seventeen to three with three minutes left
to go in the third quarter, and now the Bills
actually have gotten down in the red zone, Keon Coleman
with a twenty one yard catch, so it'll be first
and ten at that point, Alan and Keon Coleman starting
to make a connection. We had Jonathan vilma on who

(44:59):
watched the PAS today, mark this down. I don't know
if this is a Charles Barkley post it note thing, Ryan,
that's six or six Eastern time on October twenty, seventh,
week into the NFL season. Green Bay will play in
the NFC Championship Game and let me.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
Get let me get the post it note. Where's it at?
Dan says, green Bay is.

Speaker 3 (45:22):
In Yeah, and they'll they'll play in the NFC Championship Game.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
NFC Championship Game again too. Then they'll play against the Lions.
That's my Super Bowl pick. That's right.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
I know Philadelphia has turned things around and things are
starting to move in the right direction for them, but
you know the way that the I know it's Jacksonville,
and I know it was likely a green Bay partisan
crowd in Jacksonville. Again, it was one of the reasons.
I can't remember if we talked about it on this
show or if it was a different show. Green Bay

(45:55):
was one of the last teams to ever play in London,
and they were the last team play in London. And
the reason is nobody wanted to have their road game
be in London against the Packers because of the Packers
fans traveling so well, so you know they would play
the Jaguars and you would think, oh, green Bay didn't travel.
Green Bay hasn't been to London yet. They're gonna play

(46:18):
the Jaguars this season in Jacksonville. Why not play them
in London. Well, that's a pretty good gate for Jacksonville
when you're trying to get fans. Bill's are in the
end zone, James Cook a touchdown run. So now it's
all Buffalo twenty three to three with the extra point
coming up. Green Bay just is They're not perfect, but
if Jordan Love stays healthy, which is a question mark
after leaving today's game with that groin injury. But their

(46:43):
defense is different. Their defense is turning it around. You
were breaking about Jai r Alexander Josh Jacobs. As crazy
as it was, I don't think people thought that there
would be an upgrade over what they had last year
with Aaron Jones. But Aaron Jones missed a lot of
last year, came on at the end of the year,
has been good for Minnesota when he's played. But Josh
Jacobs has given them just this physical nature of a

(47:05):
running back. Ye and Tucker Craft has been a great
tight end for them in addition to all of the
wide receivers. Yeah, I just think that they're the real
deal and that they are a unit that will continue
to get better throughout the season. So I think green
Bay is going to the NFC Championship.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
G Yeah, the Josh Jacobs pickup is huge and Henna,
he's gonna pay more dividends in the second half of
the season when it starts to be bad weather football
in green Bay and it gets cold and you got
to be able to run the ball to secure wins.
He's gonna be a big pickup for him.

Speaker 3 (47:38):
I'm curious to see what would happen if green Bay
and Philadelphia were to play again in the United States
and not on a Friday night on.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
A solid field as well. Yeah, yeah, the field wasn't
it was terrible.

Speaker 3 (47:48):
We may get that opportunity to do so, But here
are two teams, and I don't think green Bay didn't
turn a corner. Today they actually held on and won
a game that they should have won. Credit to Jacksonville
for being competitive, but Philadelphia sure seemed to turn it on.
And now as I look at the NFC and I
talk about the Lions, it's not that the Lion scored
fifty two points today against the Titans, because again they're

(48:09):
playing the Titans. For what we've said, I just believe
that Detroit brings a physical nature to the game, and
you have to be physical at some point to have
any success, and San Francisco would always be physical. I
don't know how physical San Francisco is this year. Right now,
I don't think you can seriously say anybody in the

(48:29):
NFC West is a threat to taking home the NFC crown.
I know Christian McCaffrey's coming back, but even when he
comes back, I want to see what the forty nine
ers do in that scenario. I think right now it's
the Packers. I think right now it's the Lions. I'd
give the Vikings credit. They've had a tough week in
losing the games that they have lost, but Philadelphia is

(48:51):
right there. But otherwise, throughout the NFC and the Commander's
trying to prove a point against the Bears team. Right now,
those teams to me solidified their self as we reach
the midway point of the season of being all right,
we're gonna be there at the end, you're gonna have
to deal with us and the rest of the NFC.
The other thirteen teams in my mind, outside of Green

(49:13):
Bay and Detroit and Philadelphia are kind of still sorting
things out, trying to figure out if they are legit
or if they're not legit.

Speaker 2 (49:21):
That's a good point now when you the way you
just laid it out there. But I'm gonna say right now,
I would have to agree with you where we are
right now. But I'm I'm really excited to see where
the Commanders go from here. Right if they can win
this game and they go to six and two, obviously
a complete surprise, and where they are right now and
they who they become so far in this season. But

(49:43):
I'm starting to see a team that's very confident. I'm
starting to believe in their defense as well, with Joe
Witt Junior at the helm, and so it's gonna be
exciting to see. But yeah, I can see why you
would say green Bay right now just when you again,
we're only at we gate. We are at the midway
point of the season. We're not even halfway through there.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
But for how things have turned around, I think that
when you look at the Brazil game with Philadelphia and
Green Bay in what a game that was. Those two
teams may be different but than they were in Week one.
But now if you were to play each other, say
at Week nine, I think we'd get just as good
of a game that that was, but maybe playing that
game at a bit of a higher level. So yeah, Yeah,

(50:22):
the Bills are up on the Seahawks twenty four to
three late in the third quarter on that James Cook
touchdown run, Settle almost turned it over at that point,
still a nine to five game. With the Chargers and Saints.
We're talking about the Commanders. They're facing a fourth and
sixteen from the bears forty yard line. They're just gonna
punt it away when the Bears haven't done anything offensively.

(50:43):
We mentioned Kayleb Williams numbers earlier. Why give him any
field position? And the Commanders have now pinned them inside
the five yard line, going to be down at about
the three yard line. So the Bears down nine, just
five minutes gone by in the third quarter, Commander's up
nine to nothing, will take over deep in their own territory,
Denver's up twenty one to seven, and then the Chiefs

(51:04):
and Raiders. You like the Raiders in the way that
they will at least be able to play today against
the Kansas City team that remains the NFL's lone unbeaten.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
Yeah, and you know, like the Raiders, you know, had
a lot of offseason talk about Patrick Mahomes and all that,
so like the rivalry there, even though it's not a
rivalry the Chiefs when the Raiders always played them pretty tough.
And so this is one of those games where you know,
the Chiefs have been kind of just meandering around and
they're six and zero seven whatever their number is right now,
and you know, this is one of those games where

(51:34):
I don't want to say trap game. It's because because
Kansas City's is coming to this game with a little
motivation with I say, at the Patrick Mahomes talk and
them talking about them being Kermit and all that stuff.
So it's it's that's a fun game and they're competing.

Speaker 3 (51:46):
And they are now inside the five yard line as
Jacobe Myers has caught a pass on third and nine
to get down to about the four yard line. So Myers,
who's back from injury, has six catches, fifty two yards
and a score. Today is the Raiders again are knocking
on the door. DeAndre Hopkins and making his Chiefs debut.
Two receptions so far for twenty nine yards. I guaranteed

(52:10):
on the I Want Your Flex podcast that I do
with Mike Carmen that DeAndre Hopkins would get a touchdown today.
You did, I guaranteed it. I still think that there's
time to do. So it's a very very chief thing
to do. And I'll tell you what they may need him.
Considering that the Raiders are knocking on the door here,
Alexander Madison loses about five yards on a first and

(52:31):
goal carry. So we will wait to see on what
the Raiders end up doing, and then we're going to
take our time out. Gino Smith was running for his
life and then a late flag has come on the play.
Chargers are into the end zone. Lad McConkey with the
touchdown and so the Chargers we can no longer play
nine to five because there's no laundry on the field.

(52:54):
The Chargers have gotten into the end zone and have
extended their lead sixty yard touchdown for lad mccaukie on
the pass from Justin Herbert. The Raiders, facing that second
down and goal, are now going to face a third
in goal. Mccackie did a great job in terms of
grabbing the ball away from a defender about twenty five

(53:16):
yards downfield and then he just took it the rest
of the way. So the Chargers are in the end
zone and extending their lead against the New Orleans Saints.
So it's third down for the Raiders again. Seven point
game against Kansas City. You said letdown game. Last week
they had the win against San Francisco. Did Kansas City
next week? They've got Monday night against the Buccaneers. Considering

(53:38):
the problems the Raiders have gone through, but it still
is a Kansas City Raiders game. There's no excuse considering
Kansas City lost to the Raiders for them to be
playing down to the competition. So it's a divisional game.
It happens flag on the play as Gardner Minshew ends
up being sacked by George carlofis curious to see them
where the penalty is. Both teams staying out on the

(53:58):
field at this point, it's going to be against the Raiders,
so the Raiders will end up having to settle for
a field goal a legal motion call, it'll be declined
by Kansas City, so the Raiders will have to settle
for that field goal attempt. Six point fifty two left
in the third quarter. It's Kansas City seventeen and the
Raiders ten. He's carry roads. I'm Dan Beyer. What do

(54:20):
the Jets do next? And with the trade deadline a
little over a week away, could we see even more
movement than we've seen already? Rnfl incenter Adam Kaplan joins
us to talk about that here on Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio.

Speaker 3 (54:44):
We got to turnover in Las Vegas. Patrick Mahomes throwing
out of the shadow of his own goalposts, had his
pass deflected and it was picked off by the Raiders
who are down four and now Las Vegas has a
first in goal inside the Cakansas City five yard line.
In a seventeen thirteen game, five point thirty nine left

(55:04):
to go in the third quarter. It's one of five
games going on right now. Buffalo is just taken it
to Seattle twenty four to three, all Bills today, and
Buffalo's driving in Seattle territory again. First and ten at
the Seahawks twenty four yard line. Commanders thought they got
into the end zone. It was called back on a penalty,
but they're still up on the Bears nine to nothing.
Midway through the third quarter. The Chargers on that led

(55:27):
mcconcke sixty yard touchdown reception. Extra point was good, so
it's sixteen to five over the Saints, and Denver continues
to hold that twenty one to seven edge on Bryce
Young and the Carolina Panthers. He is Carrie Rhodes. I'm
Dan Byer. It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. We
welcome in our NFL insider, Adam Kaplan, who you can
read on the Pro Football Network and also hear them

(55:48):
on the Inside the Birds podcast. And let's just start
off with this game that we started off with Adam
Carey and I on the show today, in the Cleveland
victory against the Ravens today. Is it spirited victory by
Cleveland or is it Baltimore on a short week with
a letdown. How does that sort of outcome play out today?

Speaker 9 (56:07):
Look, they look they with James Winston will start with
the Browns. They had a pass the game today. For
the first time all season, they had the ability to
throw the ball down field. Jamis was spreading the ball around.
I mean really it was Cedric Tillman, you might remember
his dad. For those I us are old enough for
Broncos receiver. Cedric did a great job today. He's now
a starting receiver. And Joku, Jerry Judy, everybody came alive.

(56:32):
You see it out. They have a pass the game.
Nick Chubb was able to grind out some carries. Their
defense got the job done. I thought they hung in there,
made the mar move a little bit. I know, Mars
a little bit frustrated. It's a really good win. You know,
it's a really good win for a team that's really
struggled and now they have the same record that Cleveland
Browns as the New York Jets.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
O boy, yeah, Adam, sorry, I had to do it. Hey,
I just want to let people know the Raiders have
been unsuccessful on three Alexander Madison runs up the middle
from the three yard line. So it's a fourth and
goal right now for the Raiders, down four, and you
kind of have to go for it now considering your
great field positions. Just got James Cook just got into

(57:11):
the end zone his second touchdown of the day for Buffalo.
So they're destroying Seattle. So the Raiders end up on
fourth and down. Gardner Minshew is pressured and doesn't even
get a pass off.

Speaker 9 (57:21):
Oh by the way, Alexander Madison fourteen carries for fifteen yards.

Speaker 2 (57:27):
Not good.

Speaker 3 (57:28):
We not take you back to your regular scheduled program
of Dan and Carry. Talking with Adam Kaplan.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
So, Adam, you're the uh that Raven Brown's game, so
and all the stuff that's going on, all the distractions,
the injury with Watson, you know, we talked about it.
James comes in and I talked to Dan about this before.
About James. You know, obviously he's a gunslinger. He's gonna
make mistakes, but he's not going to be afraid of
that moment and he will be somebody that can rally

(57:56):
those guys. Did you see did you sense any of
that with him today?

Speaker 9 (58:00):
I did, because I just like the energy that he
comes with. He's he's a very positive guy. I got
to know Jamis. We were represented by the same agency
or very early in his course.

Speaker 10 (58:08):
I got to know.

Speaker 9 (58:08):
Him, and he's a pretty sharp guy. He's I know
with the Saints, loved him behind the scenes. He always
had a great attitude and you know, he brings an
infectious attitude. You know, to be a backup, you got
to handle that. And he's he's done a good job
of that. And he had a really good game today.
This is a This is a very interesting game. It
was knocked down, drag out fight. It could bet anyone's game.

(58:30):
And I give the Browns credit. Look they look, they're
two and six. We know they're not going to the playoffs,
but it's something to build on, and Jamis could at
least look with Watson's future cloud at best, who knows,
Look who knows, because let's let's assume for arguments, say
that they want up moving. They eight did ninety two million,
which is crazy. But let's just say he's that Wats

(58:52):
is not with him next season. The Browns don't know
what the quarterback is going to be. You just talking
about it. Craig wins he wants to throw the football
he's a he doesn't care, just you nailed it. He's
absolutely gunslinger. And by the way, the guy that had
the backup job before him, Joe Flacco.

Speaker 2 (59:08):
The same way. Yep.

Speaker 3 (59:08):
Adam Gaplin joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Commander
settled for a field goal. So their lead against the
Bears is now twelve nothing in the third quarter. A
team that you follow just because they're in your backyard
very closely. Inside the Birds Podcast, Philadelphia Eagles go to Cincinnati,
just take care of the Bengals, seemingly with the ease.
It felt like today, have they turned a corner Philadelphia

(59:30):
from the early season woes that we've seen.

Speaker 9 (59:33):
I would say, Dan, when you look at this team,
they had a terrible choke on that Monday night game
against the Falcons where they seemingly had them and they
wound up losing by a point at home. Now they've
won four out of five. Their schedules kind of set
up pretty well for them. You know, they got blown out,
they were without a lot of players in Tampa, and
now they've won their last three games. But this is

(59:54):
a really good win because they got off to really beats.
I don't know how much of you saw the game.
Their defense really not do well at all the first quarter.
In fact, again they're the only team in the NFL
not to score point in the first quarter. But the
key to this game happened to be on really two series,
the second series, where the Bengals drove down the field,

(01:00:15):
they held them to a field goal and then another
drive in the half, they decide to not go for
or punt.

Speaker 10 (01:00:22):
They decide to kick.

Speaker 9 (01:00:23):
A fifty four yard field goal and the kicker missed it,
and that gave the Eagles a new life. And then
they'd never looked back. They just they dominated, and they
finally got some turnovers. You know, they're one of the
lowest turnover teams in the NFL. The pressure they got
to Joe Burrow, Burrow got Burrow is killing him the
first half.

Speaker 10 (01:00:41):
They kind of shut him down. It's a pretty good
win for them.

Speaker 9 (01:00:43):
They host the lowly Jaguars the next week, and then
they go to the Cowboys, where the Cowboys have not
won a home game, and gosh, I'm gonna say like
eight or nine months, So yeah, I mean, things are
set up pretty well for the Eagles right.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
Now, all right, So Adam, I'm gonna give you pleasure
of talking about this team and what was represented on
the field today the Jets, right and so obviously come
into this season, I've seen so much talk about how
many all pros they have, and you know, all the
playmakers that they have, and so and so and so
and so. Right, but when are we going to start

(01:01:19):
talking about how bad the defense has been down in
these last up agains so lack of pressure.

Speaker 9 (01:01:23):
I know Quinn Williams had a sacond and a half,
but man, I just you could speak better to this
because you played. Might have been in the locker room
to talk to coaches in the front offs, but you
actually played. There's got to be something wrong that we're
not seeing. Okay, you're right. The defense has been extremely disappointing.
There's no cuidit. It's not even close to last year's dominance.

(01:01:44):
There's something missing with his football team. I cannot put
my finger on.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
I'll give you.

Speaker 9 (01:01:48):
I'll bring you inside a conversation that I had was
so and high up with the Jets before the scenes
started because this guy knew I was at their training
camp and sew them dominate the Giants. I know, it's
only one game of practice, one day of practice. But
they look pretty good anyway, because what do you think.
I go, look, you guys look good. I mean, we'll
see you. You can't really tell from training camp, because
well I could tell you I've been in every practice.

Speaker 10 (01:02:07):
We look like we're going to be pretty good. But
the thing you.

Speaker 9 (01:02:12):
Can't replicate is chemistry or timing and togetherness. There's just
something all with his football team, like I haven't seen, guys,
it's really really odd. I don't know what, Like Rogers
have clearly not himself. Okay, he turns forty one in December.
He's clearly not the same quarterback. I think we kind
of know that, though. You talk to the Jets and
they'll tell you, oh, look good in training cabs all

(01:02:33):
the way back. Well, his best game of the season
was earlier against the first game against the Patriots. He
certainly looked very good. Other than that, it's been rather pedestrian.
They're not quite getting the explosive play from the run
game that they were hoping for. And DeVante Adams, I know,
he just got here. This is only a second game
and he has not provided the spark that they won,
and they're not getting the pressure. So if you really

(01:02:55):
look at it, guys, It's really not just one side
of the football, it's both. And now could they just
play or respectable football the rest of I forget about
being a wildcard team, forgetting that at this point, could
they be just respectable?

Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
I told Carry that in his wife. I'm still harping
on the solid firing. It doesn't make any sense to
fire Robert Sala because now you've put the guy in
charge that's supposed to be running your defense and he's
got to be the head coach. Yeah, so you've lost
Sala where you're a defensive team, and you've promoted the
defensive coordinator to be the head coach. So now he
really fully can't have full control of the defense. So

(01:03:28):
you've just completely watered down anything you've done on that
defensive side. And on the offensive side of the ball,
you've already changed coordinators and play callers excuse me, for
the season so far, So there's nowhere to go there.
It just it all to me like that domino of
firing Salad just did not make sense. And I think
that they've dealt with that ever since.

Speaker 9 (01:03:48):
Yeah, and now Dott and looka for Jeff Olbrick. But
I know internally they really like him, pretty good leader.
But see it's funny and I felt kind of pray
to this. Usually when there's this kind of change, you
see a spar from the they rally around. They knew
the interim head coach, but that has not happened here. Yeah, offensively,
I thought they'd be a little bit better. So to
the move the forty. There's clearly something missing was football team.

(01:04:12):
I wonder if the Beat reporters could because you know,
I read what's out there. No one seems to be
able to figure this out. It's really Carrie, what could
you put your finger on it? But you, I mean
you played for.

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
Them, Yeah, yeah, No, I mean you didn't get any
inside information from Rich, from Rich Somini, Sorr.

Speaker 10 (01:04:27):
But I know Rich, I know Rich very well.

Speaker 9 (01:04:29):
None of those writers they're not There's got to be
something that we're not we haven't seen or we don't know.
Obviously they're not playing well, we get that, but there's
a chemistry problem. And again Carrie could speak this because
he played.

Speaker 10 (01:04:42):
Sometimes there's something missing.

Speaker 9 (01:04:44):
Is it a locker room that could you tell when
you're on your teammates that sometimes they're not having the
right attitude.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
Or anything like that, for sure. I mean I said
it the other day. They're number one before even this week.
They're not having fun, right, They're in a position where
obviously all eyes on them. They have to turn it
around quickly. You got a new coach, all these all
these uh, these these factors that are kind of, you know,
pulling them away from actually going out there and performing.

Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
That's that's number one.

Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
But also, if you don't really care or really love
or like the people that are around you, you're not
gonna do that extra thing. Right. It seems like they're
not doing the extra thing to help each other be better.
They're all trying individually to do their job, but they're not.
They're not at the point where they can do their
job and actually do the things that matter for the team.

(01:05:34):
And that's what I see. I don't see any joy
around the organization right now.

Speaker 9 (01:05:38):
Well, you know what, carry that speaks to leadership. There's
something wrong with the leadership of that football team. I'm
just basic on what you just said. That tells me
there's a leadership problem.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
Yeah, makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
Adam Kaplan joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Trade
deadline now about a week and a half away a
week from Tuesday. We've already seen a lot of action.
Are there other names that we could see on the
move prior to the Allige?

Speaker 10 (01:05:57):
Yeah, it's going to be receiver wise.

Speaker 9 (01:05:58):
I've said this in every interview I've done on FSR
for the last three weeks.

Speaker 10 (01:06:02):
It's good.

Speaker 9 (01:06:02):
I'm four is a little strong. I would say minimum
of two receivers traded. Deontay Johnson's by far the number
one guy of the Panthers.

Speaker 10 (01:06:10):
He's this mysterious rib injury. I thought it.

Speaker 9 (01:06:14):
They're their head coach would not even address the fact
that because they said, you know what, what, what's the story?
Is it related to the ribbage or Whise not playing?
And then uh, the head coach that you got to
talk to the general manager. I'm like, that's not a
it's not a really good sign that. Yeah, there's gonna
be more movement.

Speaker 10 (01:06:31):
Receiver.

Speaker 9 (01:06:32):
Washington needs to do something. The Steelers are all over
the receiver position. They're like they don't want to like
they're not looking to spend a lot of money, But
what the clubs you're looking for? Guys, I'm told as veterans,
they're not looking to They're not looking to develop a
young receiver right now. These these teams they want a
veteran could step in right away, like DeAndre Hopkins has
done here playing a lot today by the way, for
the Chiefs, and we'll we'll see how much of an

(01:06:53):
impact d Hopkin have. But yeah, it's usually not like
this receiver. I can't remember the last time that that
teams are talking about acquiring receivers like this. But there's
been a lot of talk around the league about receivers
and I expect I love that to happen. We'll talk
more about this next Sunday, but yeah, I'm expecting two
to four receivers to be traded, probably closer to two.

Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
Adam Dan. Adam Dan said something that was interesting actually
about the Jets, and he said, right now they're two
and six, is there any would there be any room
for them to sail at this moment?

Speaker 10 (01:07:23):
Oh, yeah, I know that. That's kind of been on
my mind.

Speaker 9 (01:07:28):
Well, Mike Williams, by the way, that I could tell
you this for a fact, I was told earlier this
week these Steelers are actually gonna Before he signed with
the Jets, he was he canceled a trip to visit
the Steelers I've heard they still have interested in I mean,
by the way they just played the Steelers. Yeah, so
that's a team that's got to do something. I know
they've been a great story, been better than we thought. Uh,

(01:07:49):
but yeah, that's a team you got to look at.

Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:07:52):
So if you want to look at Steelers or look
at selling one hundred percent, that that's I mean, they
got to do something and they chats trading Mike Williams.

Speaker 10 (01:08:01):
Of and that would make the most sense.

Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
He's Adam Kapl and our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider.
We appreciate it. Adam talked in next week.

Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
Thanks Adam.

Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
He's Carrie roseil Pro. I'm Dan Byer. Monci Blanios is
at the news desk giving us the latest of what's
happening in these five games, none of which are a
lot of electricity, except maybe in Las Vegas right about maybe.

Speaker 6 (01:08:20):
In Las Vegas.

Speaker 5 (01:08:21):
Yeah, things are getting maybe chippy there between the Chiefs
and the Raiders. Kansas City is still up though it's
seventeen thirteen, early in the fourth quarter in Las Vegas
the Chargers.

Speaker 6 (01:08:30):
There's a video going around on social media right now.

Speaker 5 (01:08:33):
One of the linemen for the Saints grabbing Justin Herbert's
like leg Like the guy is on the ground and
Justin Herbert is standing and he's like pulling his leg
down like it's bad.

Speaker 6 (01:08:42):
It looks like he's trying to hurt him.

Speaker 5 (01:08:44):
And the Bradley Boseman, who plays for the Chargers, tackles
him down because he's like, bro, like what are you doing.
Everyone's talking about it because it looks really dirty, like
you're trying to hurt Justin Herbert and that's not cool. Sure,
but the Chargers right now are beating the Saints sixteen
to eight.

Speaker 6 (01:09:00):
They just got going in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:09:02):
It's been all Bills against the Seahawks thirty one to ten,
eight minutes left in the game. Josh Allen has thrown
two touchdowns. James Cook has rushed for two touchdowns. It's
been all Broncos against the Panthers twenty eight to seven,
less than four minutes to go in the third quarter.

Speaker 6 (01:09:14):
Bonnicks has thrown three touchdown passes.

Speaker 5 (01:09:16):
He's rushed for a touchdown, so he's basically responsible for
all the scoring right now.

Speaker 6 (01:09:20):
Boone Nicks for the Broncos.

Speaker 5 (01:09:22):
And the Commander has hit another field goal, so they
are shutting out the Bears, not something I was expecting.
Twelve zero is the score with about three minutes to
go in the third quarter, still to come Cowboys and
forty nine Ers running back Rico D'Auto apparently arrived to
the stadium feeling ill. So now he's out. He is
out for tonight's game against the forty nine Ers and

(01:09:43):
last Zek Cook, Yes, that's twenty eighteen, exactly exactly. And
I tweeted this, Dan, you gotta go look at what
I tweeted, because the Miami he unbuilt a statue of
Dwayn Wade.

Speaker 6 (01:09:57):
Let me tell you who. It's not Dwayn Wade.

Speaker 3 (01:10:01):
Is this like that?

Speaker 1 (01:10:02):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Ronaldo?

Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
Wasn't there, Ronaldo?

Speaker 6 (01:10:06):
This is one of those. This is one of those.
And actually Mary hit it on the head.

Speaker 5 (01:10:10):
There is the meme of the like older white guy
that's like smiling.

Speaker 6 (01:10:14):
That's exactly what it looks like. That's so it is.
That's what it looks like. Mary pulled up the picture
and I was.

Speaker 1 (01:10:18):
Like, that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
I'll show you because I was like, why is.

Speaker 5 (01:10:21):
That face look familiar? It's not Dwayne Wade, but why
does that face look familiar? So that happened and I
can't believe it's real.

Speaker 6 (01:10:28):
Back to you guys, thank you very.

Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
Much, Manzi Kiss Patrick Mahomes just scrambled for a first
down on third and twelve. So the Chiefs, with that
four point lead against the Raiders, continue their drive alive.
And it was Nathan Sheppard, the Saints defensive lineman who
was grabbing Justin Herbert on that play. The crazy thing
about it because he wouldn't let go, and it was

(01:10:50):
trying to get him to go down where it looked
like it almost looked at he was trying to rip
Herbert's leg off, as Monzi said, at the knee. That's
a penalty when you go low on the courquarterback anyway,
you know. So why you would then continue to follow
through on it, I'm not quite sure, but that's what
ended up happening. And then Bradley Boseman, as you said,
delivering the the justice, sticking up for his teammate.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
Yeah, no, you got to do that. I mean, that's
a franchise quarterback. Take care of him, and for him
to be pulling out his leg, he just doesn't even
doesn't even make any sense. So just just just bad.

Speaker 3 (01:11:24):
Yeah, especially when you're when you're going low in that
scenario too. It's honestly like I get the whole heat
of the moment thing. Yeah, but you know in that scenario,
you know exactly what you're doing, and so that stuff
cannot happen. Luckily for Herbert and the Chargers that no
injury was sustained on that play. All right, Monty gave
you the what's happening in these five games? The Colts

(01:11:47):
today fell to the Texans. Houston gets a win. Wasn't easy,
but there was something from that game that just has
me scratching my head. And it involves the Colts young
quarterback Anthony Richardson, plus some fantasy numbers. We'll talk about
all of it next year on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's carry Roads. I'm
Dan Byer. We Gate the NFL. Still feeling the vibes
from yesterday with ice Cube doing the intro coming out
of centerfield? Monci was it as good on at Dodger
Stadium as it was on TV?

Speaker 6 (01:12:26):
It was better because I wasn't expecting it.

Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
Actually, the only way the Yankees on top it is
we bring out Fat Joe and do a little lane
back on Monday.

Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
Then we consider copycats. That's the tough part about it
with your own thing. The walk was so long from
center field to home plate that he had to do
two songs. Yeah, I need I need another one here,
but no, that was That was neat Game three toronw Night.
You'll see it on Fox. Dodgers up too. Oh, but

(01:12:58):
the scene shifts to the Bronx. We have a scene
shifter in d seed DeAndre Swift a fifty six yard
touchdown run extra point is good for the Bears. It's
not a twelve to seven ball game between the Commanders
and Chicago. They're at the end of the third quarter,
the Bills putting the finishing touches on a win against
the Seahawks thirty one to ten. Buffalo leads in that contest,

(01:13:21):
about seven minutes to go in that game. Early in
the fourth quarter, it's the Chargers nineteen Saints eight, and
the Chiefs have a twenty to thirteen lead on the Raiders. Well,
the Broncos are up twenty eight to seven at the
end of three against the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 2 (01:13:35):
Imagine being down only five going into the fourth quarter
with the quarterback being four to thirteen with thirty six yards.

Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
It's pretty crazy advantage. Bears. Everything has gone wrong for
them for three quarters and now all of a sudden
they find themselves down five in a game. And if
you're the Commanders, you've kind of been not playing with
your food, but you haven't been able to capitalize. But
you haven't gotten your own rhythm going. Jayden Daniels in
playing today despite that rib injury, fifteen to twenty seven,
two hundred and sixteen yards, does have forty three yards

(01:14:05):
on six carries. Brian Robinson sixty yards on the ground.
But it's not like the Commanders have been dominating that
it have a score that was brought back by a penalty.
But now it's tough for Washington to turn it on again.
And we'll see how good of a team Washington is
if they can finish this game off against the Bears.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
Yeah, oh man, I'm just sorry.

Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
I start to see if Gardner Minshew, thank you, who
just humbled down seven in that game against the Kansas
City Chiefs. So the Raiders have turned it over in
their own territory. The Chiefs have recovered. Now with eight
minutes to go, it is clearly a fumble, so Kansas
City up seven an opportunity. To add more to that game,

(01:14:48):
The Raiders have had their opportunities, and I don't know
what it is with Kansas City in playing to the
level of their opponents, but when they go to San Francisco,
they end up taking care of the Niners. We saw
him in Week one escape against the Ravens, but still
a win is a win. Now you go to Las Vegas,
who's obviously doesn't have DeVante Adams anymore. They got Jacobe

(01:15:09):
Meyers back, but they made a change at quarterback with
Aidan O'Connell. He gets hurt, so Gardner Minshew's back in
and you'd think, okay, Chiefs more than a think they
were almost a double digit favorite coming into today, still
getting all they can handle in the AFC West matchup.
We even referenced earlier the game last year where the
Raiders won in Kansas City late in the year. But

(01:15:29):
the Raiders had their opportunities settled for three one time
inside the five, another time they ended up not getting
any points. And now you turn it over in Kansas
City just ends up trucking along six and zero and
trying to go up two scores.

Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
Yeah, the cheats have become the annoying really really really
really really good team. We had that with the Patriots,
right where they always kind of found a way to win.
Cheats are doing the same thing.

Speaker 3 (01:15:52):
Now, let's get a look at some fantasy numbers for
a week eight with Ryan Berschinger. All right, bursch what
do you got in your pocket? Well, let's take a
look at these five Like, no, what is in your pocket?
Right house?

Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
Actually nothing?

Speaker 8 (01:16:04):
When I when I get here to work, I take
my wallet and keys out and put it on the
desk because I like to not feel anything in my pocket.

Speaker 1 (01:16:10):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
It's also true trying to identify with empty pockets.

Speaker 8 (01:16:14):
Ott, And my wallet's only been taken once by Brian Finley.

Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
But it's okay, I got it back. I thought it
was his. We're exactly on the desk is right now.

Speaker 8 (01:16:24):
It's back behind me here next to my gigantic. Thank you,
you're welcome. All right, let's say look at these ninety
six ounces of water right behind Ryan Bergin.

Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
Yeah, I gotta say I read it.

Speaker 8 (01:16:37):
Bow Nicks is actually your top scoring quarterback from these
games right now? Twenty two of thirty passing for two
hundred and twenty eight yards and two touchdowns through the air.
Four rushes five yards and a touchdown on the ground
for bow Nicks James Cook sixteen rushes one hundred and
four yards and a touchdown on the ground, three catches
on three targets for twenty two yards through the air.
Lad McConkie had that gigantic touchdown. He's five catches on

(01:17:00):
five targets for one hundred and two yards and a
touchdown so far today and Travis Kelcey. It is National
tight end Game a day, so Travis has to set
up eight catches on ten targets for seventy seven yards
and a touchdown. Your miss is here. Gino Smith was
the lowest scoring quarterback from these games. He might have
just passed up Caleb Williams after getting that ten yard run,

(01:17:21):
but thirteen of eighteen for one hundred and twenty three
yards in an interception through the air thus far for Gino.
Javonte Williams not getting too much going ten rushes on
thirty two yards on the ground, three catches on three
targets for five yards through the air, had a shot
at getting in the end zone from the half yard
line didn't get in and then bo Nicks got it instead.
Amari Cooper. Despite the Bills putting up thirty one points

(01:17:42):
so far, Amari Cooper only one catch on two targets
for three yards, which is really interesting. Dalton Kinkaid having
a great game, Khalil Shakir having a great game, Amari
Cooper is just kind of running around, and Brock Bauers
three catches on three targets for thirty nine yards, so
the only tight end to not celebrate tight End Day
thus far. And those are your fantasy it's and misses
from these late games.

Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
It's also a national Seahawks don't do anything day, so
that is appropriate. And the Bears have just blocked an
Austin Cybert field goal attempt, so the Bears stay within five.
It's twelve seven commanders on top of Chicago hanging around,
Bears doing what they need to do.

Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
They are no These are one of those dangerous games too,
when the Commanders should have put this game away early.
They let them hang around and now let's see if
we can get some Caleb Williams magic down the stretch.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
Chief's facing a big third and two, and of course
they put the ball in the hands of Kareem Hunt,
who gets the two and a half yards needed for
the first down. Just when you think it's going to
be Patrick Mahomes doing his thing, they handed off the
Hunt and he gets a first down to keep the
clock moving. Raiders have all three other timeouts, but now
we're in a point six twenty five to go and

(01:18:54):
Kansas City is up seven. When you're the Raiders, you
likely are going to have to now score in this
scenario because you don't think Kansas City's gonna put the
ball in Harm's way. Good day, Crazier things have happened,
but that's where we are right now in Las Vegas
is the Chiefs now are getting a first down play
and it's down to about the Raider inside at least

(01:19:17):
the twenty yard line, justin Watson gets down to about
the nineteen yard line, So we'll keep you up to
date on that. It looks like the Bills are gonna win.
Denver's on their way, but the Commander's Bears in a
tight When we were just talking about the Chiefs and
Raiders and the Chargers with that nineteen to eight lead
on the Saints, do you think that's Scoregami? If it
were to end nineteen to eight. Do you think that

(01:19:39):
we have had a nineteen to eight game before? I
don't think so.

Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
That sounds like a Friday night, Friday Night Lights game,
Friday Night Lights school.

Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
We actually had one last season. Really beat the Broncos
nineteen to eight. Yes, the first time it happened. The
Yankees beat the Bisons nineteen to eight. In nineteen twenty seven,
the Buffalo Bisons. That was the first time it happened.
He's carry I'm Dan Beyer. Will bring you the late
game madness, plus Carrie breaks the down the play of
Week eight. It's all next year on Fox Sports Red

(01:20:08):
Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:20:13):
We are winding down our late window in Week eight
and we have the Kansas City Chiefs in the end
zone again. We'll get you caught up to date of
what's happening in these five games of this late window.
Of course, tonight Cowboys and Niners. Tomorrow night it's the
Giants and Steelers. Everybody plays in Week eight in the NFL,
So we are broadcasting live from the Tirec dot Com

and I hope Ryan did not put away the post
it notes on my prediction that the NFC Championship game
will be Green Bay against Detroit because Carrie Rhoades has

(01:20:58):
got something to say in just a matter of minutes.
But I do want to point out the Chiefs are
in the end zone. Patrick Mahomes too, Xavier Worthy nine
yards and this is what the Chiefs do. They're up
twenty six to thirteen, extra point coming up extra point
ends up being making it a fourteen point game. The

(01:21:20):
Raiders were off sides on the extra point attempt. But
there's six minutes left in the game or so, and
the Chiefs have the football in Raiders territory. And I
actually give Antonio Pierce in the Raiders credit. They started
using their timeouts theneah and so the Raiders were out
of timeouts with five minutes to go in the game.
There's four fifty nine left, they have no more timeouts.

(01:21:41):
Because this is what Kansas City does. They will work
the clock. When they need ten yards, they get eleven,
and they just bleed and bleed and bleed, and pretty
soon you're out of time and it's a two score game.
Kudos to the Raiders who now have down two scores.
It's a tough spot to be and you don't want
to give up touchdown. They were hoping to just give

(01:22:01):
up the field goal, but they are onto Kansas City
and what you have to do and how you need
to use their timeouts, h they don't have a timeout
and the rest of the game, you know, with five
minutes left, but now it's a two score game of
the Chiefs up twenty seven to thirteen.

Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Yeah, well it's over now anyway. So yeah, I mean,
try to use your timeouts to conserve some time, give
yourself at least a shot. But right now, I mean,
the Seats are just operating at a level that's a
little bit better than everybody else they play. So that's
kind of where we stand right now.

Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
So the Bills are running down the clock in Seattle,
there's a scenario where there may be just about maybe
they're going to take one more snap and then they
should be able to run out the clock. It's third
and twelve. They'll be able to get it under the
it's borderline of whether they need another stat but it's
going to be a thirty one to ten final. Chargers
have the football in Saints territory in an eleven point game,

(01:22:54):
and they are now inside the red zone. So the
Chargers look to continue their great play. It hasn't been
great of late, losing last week to the Cardinals. They
were on a three game slide, but trying to get
back on track, and they do so against the Satan's
team that's shorthanded at quarterback and on a slide of
their own.

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
Yeah, that Cardinals game, that loss last week for them,
you know, it seems bad, but it's not that bad.
I mean, the Cardinals obviously isn't as talented as them,
probably close to talent, because I don't think the Rams,
I mean, the Chargers have that much of a talent
advantage in any game they go in. But I don't
think that's as bad as loss as people think it
thought it was at the time.

Speaker 3 (01:23:32):
So the Commanders, up five, will punt on fourth and
three with ten to thirty three to go at around
their own forty five yard line. Bears end up signaling
for a fair catch. So Caleb Williams and the Bears
take over first and ten ten twenty eight to go
down five from their own fifteen yard line. And what
has been a very very tough day for Kleb Williams.
Something that you've been on track with. What is Kayleb

(01:23:54):
Williams numbers now through three plus quarters of action in
this one versus two matchup against Jayden dani Yeah, he had.

Speaker 2 (01:24:01):
Thirty three yards at the half and he's picked up
three in the second half so far, so he is
four for sixteen. That's not a not a good showing
at all.

Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
Passer rating right now of thirty nine point six and
that's the ESPN rating, I believe, the one where it
only goes to one hundred. It's not the one forty
one or the one fifty eight point three one that
that we get a lot. You wanted to get the
post it note ready?

Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
Yeah? Are you ready? Are you ready?

Speaker 3 (01:24:25):
Ryan Bursching here for the Ryan are you awake?

Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
I'm ready? I'm okay okay. Athers.

Speaker 3 (01:24:29):
By the way, in Denver territory, it's third and nine,
seven thirty to go at the Broncos eighteen yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
Grabbed this posted note Ryan, I'm going to call it
now since you know, Dan stepped down on the limb
and was like, oh, Green Bay is going to be
in the NFC Championship game. I was like, oh, that's
pretty cool. I could see that. But I'm gonna I'm
gonna try to one up Dan here. And I really
believe this though. All right, wait a second, I believe
mine wasn't. I wasn't doing you said I really believe

(01:24:57):
this though, Yeah, No, I believe Green Bay gonna be there.
I didn't say it for for fun.

Speaker 3 (01:25:02):
I didn't say it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
That's your that's your that's gonna be your pick.

Speaker 3 (01:25:05):
I have the Lions winning the Super Bowl and said
Green Bay is gonna face the Lions in the NFC Championship.

Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
Got it, all right? So I'm gonna say this. We
talked about it earlier. We talked about the NFC being
you know, it's in your opinion right now, like I mean,
it's a two man race at this moment. I'm gonna
say that's not the case. And I'm also going to
say this team is gonna win the NFC West and
it's gonna be your three and four Los Angeles Rams.

(01:25:31):
Oh really, they're gonna win the NFC West. I appreciate that.
That's it right there. Good drop, good drop Mary three
and four Rams. With the health of Cooper Cup being
back and Pooka Nikoua being back, that offense is very dangerous.
Matthew Stafford is gonna come back and play really well
down the stretch here. They're gonna win the NFC West

(01:25:53):
and they're gonna be a really tough out. They're gonna
challenge Green Bay for that NFC West, uh, for that
FC Championship spot. I think they're gonna be that goal.

Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
Okay, So just to get this straight, and again mine
apparently wasn't taken seriously, but we're gonna take this one seriously,
like this is the one that this is the real deal.
This is the real deal. Not only do the Rams
win the NFC West, but they also then make it
to the NFC Championship game.

Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
Yes, because they beat the Vikings on a Thursday, or no, no,
because of the health and not just basically they beat
the Vikings on a Thursday.

Speaker 3 (01:26:30):
Yeah, that's the reason why.

Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
No, no, no, I picked them, and I told you an
off season, I said they had a chance to win
that division. Before the season started they got injured. I said,
San Francisco is going to start out slow because they
do that all the time, which I said as well.
Now the Rams are going to have a chance to
win a division for sure. Right now, if you're really
confident about what I felt before, with the health that
they have right now, they're gonna win NFC West and

(01:26:54):
they will be an NFC Championship game.

Speaker 3 (01:26:56):
Listen, they were dealt a tough hand with Pookin Nakua
being injured, who's injured in the preseason and then obviously
was hurt in the week one game against Detroit. Cooper
Cup goes down a couple of weeks later and lost
to Arizona. And when you have your top two targets,
I can understand it. By the way the Chargers led
McConkie another touchdown touchdown pass from Justin Herbert, so the

(01:27:20):
Chargers are up twenty six to eight in that game
against the Saints, I understand where you can get where
you look at the Rams and you say this is
a different team from the beginning of the year. My
question is with the Rams is defensively, are you going
to be able to play at the level that you
used to play. Obviously, not to bring up Aaron Donald

(01:27:44):
as an excuse, but Aaron Donald was the eraser of
many woes, and when you had injuries or you had
things that you were dealing with offensively with the Rams,
maybe you could rely on some of the defense, and
they don't have that right now. That's my question about
the Rams. I don't think they're the worst team in
the NFC West. I'm not sure who is the worst

(01:28:06):
team in the NFC West. It may be Seattle right now,
considering how up and down they are, But at least
to your point of the Rams, if we're comparing them
to a Seattle team, or if we want to compare
them to an Arizona team, who's comparable. I'm leaving the
forty nine ers out of it just because I think
we I feel there's bigger fish to fry for San Francisco.
But of those other three teams in the NFC West

(01:28:29):
right now, Seattle's just a complete roller coaster. At least
the Rams would have the Cooper Cup pukin Nakua thing
to hang their hat on, and.

Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
They have championship pedigree as well. Let's not forget about that.
As well, like they understand how to win in big games,
they'd won them before. San Francisco is a sale of
themselves and I I mean, like I said, I figured
they would thought out slow, but I don't know if
they're going to be able to pick it up here.
I mean, you lose Brendan and Iyuk as well. Christian's
been out de bows in and out with this. You know.

(01:28:59):
I know he'll be back to now with his uh
he had the flu. But that team moning pneumonia. Yeah,
that team has been in disarray, and I don't know
if I think that window may be closing sooner than
people thought.

Speaker 3 (01:29:11):
All right, I think his pick is a lot more
crazier than mine. I think it's it's out there, but
you can wear your Rams horns and for the rest
of the sea here goes all right, all right, Hey,
I'll happily sit back and watch this and see if
it comes to fruition.

Speaker 2 (01:29:29):
Yeah, because the Green Bay one, You're right, they're playing great,
and I think that would be a lot of people's
pick right now. But the Ram one would be I
don't think too many people would make that one.

Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
Well sure, but again, I wasn't doing it for you
know for highlights like I felt Green Bay is that
I believe.

Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
No, no, for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:29:48):
The Bears are driving seven to fifty three to go.
DJ Moores caught a pass that's going to set them
up inside the red zone. More is slow to get
up seven fifty three to go. It's Commander's twelve Bear seven.
As for the Chiefs and Raiders, that's a twenty seven
to thirteen game right now. The Chiefs are that fourteen
point lead. Raiders just converted a fourth and one and

(01:30:08):
a Mir Abdullah is taking it down a first down
inside the red zone. Nick Bolton of the Chiefs a
little slow to get up on the play, so he
comes out of the game. It's actually they did not
give him the first down, so it's going to be
third and one for the Raiders again. Down two scores.
In that contest Bill Seahawks, that's final thirty one to ten.
It's over with. Buffalo gets the win today over Seattle.

(01:30:29):
Bills are six and two. They right now with the
Dolphins sitting there at two and five in the division,
I think Brush, if you can check this, Bills can
clinch the division next week, right Is it that I'm
kidding I'm completely kidding, but when you have a two
win Dolphins team, a two win Patriots team, and a
two win Jets team, I think the AFC East is

(01:30:51):
going to be Buffalo's. My goodness, it's bad. Raiders get
a first down. So with two fourteen to go, it's
a twenty seven to thirteen game and they don't have
any timeouts. They need to score twice. As for the Bears,
DJ Moore did get both feed in on this hit
that he took at about the looks like about the
thirteen yard line. Now they're a little bit closer. It's

(01:31:13):
first in goal for the Bears against the Commanders seven
to fifty three to go, So the numbers on Kilee
Williams picked up a little bit now eighty five yards
passing in this contest. This is also an interesting game
for the Bears and Commanders because he had the Montes
Sweat deal last year when the Commanders were trying to

(01:31:33):
let go of a lot of their pieces on the
defensive line, so they traded sweat. Chase Young didn't come
back this year, but they did make a decision on
who to keep and who not to keep in the
Sweats acquisition by the Bears really was a turning point
in their season defensively, so the Bears defense stepping up here,
holding Washington to just four field goals. We've seen Washington

(01:31:55):
win a game where they've only kicked field goals earlier
this year Austin Cyberg kicked seven of them win against
the Giants. The problem with today, Cybert actually had an
opportunity to go up eight or put the Commanders up eight.
We thought that the kick was blocked after a slow
Moll replay. Cybert actually hit the ground about an inch
or two behind the ball and just basically flubbed them

(01:32:18):
like you went on a golf course. And the extra
point was no good, so or the field goal was
no good, so it kept it a five point game.
Raiders are in the end zone. Gardner minshe just threw
a touchdown pass to DJ Turner, so it's twenty seven
to nineteen two, well three left to go. That could
be of interest to some people as well. I think

(01:32:39):
about a nine and a half point spread was what
Kansas at a favorite Kansas city coming into this game. Again,
the Raiders are without any timeouts, so they will have
to recover the on side kick if they want to
have any chance at getting a victory in this game.
All right, let's second in goal now for the Bears.

(01:33:00):
Twelve seven Commanders on top of Chicago seven to twenty
two left to go. It's going to be a second
in goal from the eight yard line. You love Dan
Quinn's defense, You've talked about it for the last couple
of weeks, and what Joe Junior has been able to
do as well. This is a key spot. Bears, by
the way, have all three other timeouts to seven minutes left.
You can settle for three in the scenario, in considering

(01:33:22):
you've held Washington four field goals today, it may not
be a bad option if you can't cash in.

Speaker 2 (01:33:26):
One hundred percent. Yeah, I mean well, I was about
to say, I'm thinking the Commanders. Oh oh, he's down
to the one third and goal at the one. Yes, Now,
I think that changes. I think with them being so
close and making that completion and getting down to the one,
they'll probably try to go for the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
Here Caleb Williams ending up hitting DeAndre Carter for about
a seven yard gain and he is short. It's not
I don't think it's at the one.

Speaker 10 (01:33:51):
One.

Speaker 3 (01:33:51):
I think we're about at the one in the one
quarter yard line. Yeah, but curious to see hear on
what the Bears do DeAndre Swift big touchdown run earlier
he's done in the game where Sean Johnson is in
the game, and in fact they give it to the
full back the refrigerator parry. Yeah, that's what it appeared.

(01:34:11):
And the commanders are saying they have the football. So
there may have been a fumble on this play. Is
this is what you get if you are handing the
ball to three hundred pound lineman. The security of the
football is at risk. I understand the the the history
behind it. Yeah, I understand the flavor of it. But

(01:34:35):
this is a it's not a must win game, but boy,
it's sure's heck a game that you would like to win.
And oh my, and in fact, the handoff never even occurred,
as the ball just ended up jumping into the pile.
It was recovered by the commanders at about the three
yard line. So that's going to be Washington football. Gosh,

(01:34:57):
you're right about the fridge thing. It's really tough for
to hate that. I understand that I'm supposed to be
here and saying how incompetent the Bears are and why
Shane Walder in the offensive coordinator would run a play
with an offensive lineman. But I you're one hundred percent correct.
I can't hate it. I know it didn't work, but

(01:35:18):
I like the I like the nod to the history.
I don't think it's a great play. If you're at
the half inch line, that's one thing. But if you
have a yard and a half to go, different story.
That's what happens when you try to.

Speaker 2 (01:35:29):
Be too cute right here, Dan, I mean, obviously, yes,
the history plays a part. I'm guessing in this situation,
but you can't give it to him like three yards out,
two yards out to go score a touchdown there? Man,
You just you got You pay players for their positions
to do certain things, and that's not one of them.

Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
Right there. Here's the other scenario. The Bears would do
it when they're up by like thirty points. Yes, they
weren't doing it when they're down five in a game
against a team that you may have a wild card
tiebreaker to go against. Who knows it could be a
tiebreaker in terms of division lead if you end up
winning the division. The Bears are still in the think

(01:36:07):
of it and obviously we know the Commanders and Eagles
right now, the class of the NFC East. But to
run a play like that, that's the only thing I
would hate about it is you're down by five. I
love the nod to history, I just don't think you
do it in that situation.

Speaker 2 (01:36:22):
Yeah, man, that's that's a tough one. You get all
the way down, you get your best, one of your
best drives all day quarterback actually making some throws and
making some plays, and you try to hand it off
to an offensive lineman at the two five yards and
the normal running back position, and he doesn't score.

Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
It's it's it's bad. The botched handoff is a reason.
It would have been one thing, Carrie. If he's in
the middle as well, maybe not so much of a difference.
But if he is hit and then is fumbled, then
you're all right, man, maybe that's not the greatest decision.
But if you can't even if you can't even correctly
do step one of the three step process, and that's

(01:37:01):
hand the ball off in a way, then you probably
shouldn't be running the play.

Speaker 2 (01:37:05):
How many times you think they practiced that this week?
A bunch you think is the buns? Yes, I would
think so, but I just don't know how many times
he would have practiced that handoff right there. I mean,
obviously they practice it, but in that situation, you gotta
get points.

Speaker 3 (01:37:20):
You don't run that play. No, absolutely, absolutely not. When
the Fridge would do it again, it'd be up by
like twenty one points and then be to rub it in.
That would be the reason why you're not doing it
necessarily in a close game. He is Carrier Roads. I'm

now the Commanders are facing a third and five after
getting that turnover, so the Bears defense at least has
an opportunity to pick up their offense maybe get the
football back. Will Jaden Daniels end up being in control
of the play. We'll tell you how it all shakes

Dan Byer. We got some business to tend to here
at Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Live from the Tyrerek
dot com studios. Commanders and Bears. At the two minute warning,
twelve seven, Washington up on Chicago, but the Bears are
down to the Washington seventeen yard line again, two minute warning.

(01:38:54):
We'll tell you how that goes as things play out.
Right now at the two minute timeout, Panthers in the
end zone, but just eighteen seconds left, Denver's up on
Carolina at twenty eight to fourteen. It's time for us
to break down what we thought was one of the
key plays in Week eight and maybe the biggest play
off All the plays we saw on this Sunday happen
today in Cleveland. It's a segment we like to call carry.

(01:39:17):
The Browns were trailing the Ravens twenty four to twenty
three with a minute four left in the game. They
had the bought the Ravens thirty eight yard line, perfect
field goal range. Right facing a second and fifteen, Jameis
Winston had other ideas.

Speaker 11 (01:39:30):
One oh four to go, second and fifteen, Chum stays
in the backfield, Champis to throw Chamus's sign, damis going
t best Tilman.

Speaker 10 (01:39:37):
Henzil touchdown Crown.

Speaker 3 (01:39:46):
Andrews Ciciliano on the Browns Radio Network with the highlight,
how does Cedric Tillman get open and how does Jameis
Winston save the day for the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
Well, this play is crazy. I mean, like you said,
you stated it. They're in Frings field goal range. So
number one thing on this play for Cleveland is they
cannot take a sack, they can't get knocked back. So
for them, the awareness around that was number one, so
they protected it up. Baltimore came out and a blitz
pressure look to try to knock them back to get
them out of field goal range. Cleveland had other things

(01:40:18):
that they wanted to get achieved here. They max protected,
James Winston had time, the safety played them shallow and
let them get over the top. James Winston went over
the top. Four touchdown. Big play for Cleveland, Big big play,
big win for those guys, James Winston with a deep
pass over the top for the touchdown. That's what happened
on that play. It wasn't a special play. They didn't

(01:40:39):
run anything tricky. They max protected, got enough time, safety
shallow didn't take a step back over the top for Cleveland. Touchdown.
Big win for the Browns here on this play.

Speaker 3 (01:40:51):
And they did have to get a stop at the
end to secure victory, Yes, but they aren't able to
secure victory without that touchdown pass there. It is another
great episode.

Speaker 1 (01:41:01):
Of Fast Times with Carry Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (01:41:04):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
Times ticking in the Nation's capital. Fourth and three for
the Bears. We told you they were at the two
minute warning. Right now. Chicago on a third and five
got about two yards on a Caleb Williams scramble. So
now it's fourth and three. The Bears have all three
of their timeouts and are not using them, and this
is this is a situation we can get into in

(01:41:26):
a little bit. Caleb Williams looks in the end zone
for Keenan Allen and there is a flag on the flag,
So this is a similar scenario. It's funny, we just
did the Browns highlights in fast Times with Carry Rhoads.
But this happened with the Browns and Raiders a few
weeks back, where the Browns ended up using a timeout

(01:41:48):
late and because they used the timeout meant that the
Raiders then could just kneel out if they did not convert.
But the Bears did leave a lot of time on
the clock. They still needed a touchdown on the score.
What was interesting is with the three timeouts that they had,
there's only forty seconds left in the game. So if
you were to get the football back, you maybe if

(01:42:09):
this didn't work out, you maybe would have gotten it
with around fifteen to twenty seconds maximum in that scenario. Yeah,
so the Bears really rolling the dice and getting I
don't want to say bailed out, but they call the
pass interference down to the two yard line and with
all three timeouts, the Bears now have a full playbook

(01:42:29):
to their liking, and they throw a fade to DJ
Moore in the back corner of the end zone. You
cringed as soon as the ball went up. You had
no shot.

Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
You gotta get the receiver a chance to make a
play on the ball if you're gonna throw the fade
and that ball had no shot.

Speaker 3 (01:42:44):
This is a scenario too where I just I don't
like it. People hate fades. I'm not a fan of
fades in the scenario. In this scenario, you have three
time out of timeouts. You can run the ball here.
You can run it. There's twenty seven seconds left. Maybe
you don't want to give Jayden Daniels any time to
get a go ahead score if you wanted to Shawn

(01:43:04):
Johnson on the ground into the end zone. Eric Cary
say it. The Bears end up scoring now twenty three
seconds left, so it's a thirteen to twelve Chicago lead,
likely to go for two.

Speaker 2 (01:43:15):
In the scenario, Dan, they said a double down and
gave it to the lineman again to see if it worked.

Speaker 3 (01:43:19):
The only play they were not going to run fade
again was the second to least likely play, handing it
off to an offensive lineman is the least likely they
would play for the second straight time they By the
way Ryan Berschinger pointed this out, they didn't give the
fumble to the lineman. They gave the fumble to Caleb
Williams on that previous play, So that could have some

(01:43:41):
fantasy implications because the running back or in this case,
the fullback who was the defensive lineman, never got the football.
So the Bears are going for two in this thirteen
to twelve game. Washington does have one time out twenty
three seconds left to go, and it's a little shovel
pass to Cole kmet the raw. Yes, it is good.

(01:44:02):
So they did call Cole commit into the end zone
on the conversion. So it does a fifteen to twelve
Chicago lead on Washington. What a ton of events, I mean,
such a one of those gangs. We talked about it earlier.

Speaker 2 (01:44:12):
Washington allowed them to hang around, miss some opportunities, missed
a field goal, and now it's a field goal different
in the game right.

Speaker 3 (01:44:20):
Now, And that was about where the line was for
a fair amount of this week. So Washington's going to
get the football back again. One time out twenty five
seconds left is the official time see if the Bears
kick it out of the end zone, or if they
end up just putting it into the landing zone. If

(01:44:42):
you bring it out to the thirty yard line, it's
still a lot of yardage. I would rather kick it
and then make them run it back and take some
more time off that clock. For sure, I would not
kick it out of the back of the end zone.
If I was Chicago, I'm with you on that one.
Time is precious.

Speaker 2 (01:44:58):
You got to make sure you preserved as much time
as you can if you're the Commanders.

Speaker 3 (01:45:02):
So Caleb Williams goes. Caleb Williams goes ten or twenty four,
one hundred and thirty one yards, no touchdowns, zero interceptions.
It's not a true showdown of the two quarterbacks going
head to head. But no, you are able to get
the penalty that sets you up at the goal line,
and the Commanders are gonna end up running it out

(01:45:23):
of the end zone, taking up more clocks. So now
they lost six seconds and the Commanders will take over
first and ten at their own twenty three yard line.
Austin Eckler returning that kick, it was right on the borderline.
I thought that maybe he could have taken a knee
in that scenario in the end zone if you would
have caught it in that case, it was very very close.

(01:45:46):
I think if you were Washington, maybe you wanted to
let that ball go.

Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
Yeah, Now you gotta preserve as much time as you can.
That was I think that was a mistake by Eckler
for sure. So you have one time out left nineteen seconds.
You're gonna Cybert again chunked one on an earlier long
field goal attempt, So you can't just expect to get
to the forty five or forty three yard line on grass.
You're gonna have to get much more than that in

(01:46:13):
their first play incomplete. So eighteen seconds left to go,
you may want to try, you know, a hook and
ladder sort of play or something if you're Washington at
this point, to at least even try to get somebody
out of bounds and get some yardage in this scenario.

Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
But it's the only game going on. Denver's taking care
of the Panthers. That game is now final, but the
Bears looking to go to five and two. Washington entered
this game five and two, trying to keep pace with
the Philadelphia Eagles, who are five and two after their
win earlier today against the Cincinnati Bengals, and now a
bit of a delay. We're just going to keep you
here and let you know what happens in this matchup.

(01:46:51):
By the way, again, would have looked much better if
Washington would have just woron their regular maroon uniforms. That's
why you can't see it on radio. But the black
uniforms that they are wearing today just lit up to
it for me.

Speaker 2 (01:47:04):
Sorry, Dan hates them, but no, it's one of the
And talk about Daniels this game today, I mean, he
hasn't been his usual accurateself, and I wonder if the
injury has a little bit to do with it. I'm
not playing that game, but he hasn't looked himself.

Speaker 3 (01:47:19):
As far as his accuracy today, throwing a past to
zach Ertz for twelve yards. The problem is it took
ten seconds off the clock, so now it's five seconds.
You've used your final timeout. I think we're safe to
go over to Moncy. Milanios give us the latest, and
if the Commanders somehow pull this game out they've added
a second six minutes left to go, then then so

(01:47:40):
be it.

Speaker 5 (01:47:41):
But Mancy, he means six seconds, everybody, nine minutes no, six.

Speaker 3 (01:47:45):
Seconds yeah, sorry, six seconds left on the clock.

Speaker 6 (01:47:48):
Yes, but knowing mean something crazy will happen. And then
right in the middle of my update and I.

Speaker 2 (01:47:53):
Will will let you know.

Speaker 6 (01:47:54):
Yeah, yeah, you tell me, You tell me as I
tell you.

Speaker 5 (01:47:57):
The scores on all the other games, we had six
seconds to go Bears of fifteen to twelve against the
Commanders in the late window. All the other games have
wrapped up. Like the Chiefs, they are still undefeated. They
topped the Raiders twenty seven to twenty. Travis Kelcey in
this one ten catches ninety yards in a touchdown the Panthers.
They are still one in six, but they lost to
Theron to the Broncos twenty eight to fourteen. Bo Nicks

(01:48:19):
two hundred and eighty four yards and three touchdowns in
the air and a rushing touchdown in the win. The
Bills are now six and two. They outscored the Seahawks
thirty one to ten. James Cook seventeen carries, one hundred
and eleven yards and two touchdowns the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (01:48:31):
Yeah, just hold on, just say Jade and Daniels threw
an outpass that got him up to about the forty
eight yard line. So there's two seconds left. So we're
gonna get a Hail Mary here if Jade and Daniels
ends up ever throwing the ball, and then we'll then
get the resolution of the Washington Chicago game. Daniels is
just scrambling everywhere. I don't know if he's got enough

(01:48:52):
to get it.

Speaker 2 (01:48:52):
Into what.

Speaker 1 (01:49:00):
God, wow, it down? Oh my goodness, wow?

Speaker 3 (01:49:10):
Oh oh, are you kidding? A massive humanity went up
for the ball and it was tipped back and Noah
Brown was just standing here.

Speaker 6 (01:49:20):
It's just there. I'm not going to jump in this
crowd of people.

Speaker 2 (01:49:23):
That's how they teach you. They have one guy that's
the shortstop and he catches it and that's what happens. Wow,
execute it perfectly.

Speaker 3 (01:49:32):
Jade Daniels ran around for I think four minutes, six minutes,
and in trying to throw one up in the air
and oh, let.

Speaker 6 (01:49:43):
Me pick up my jaw off the floor.

Speaker 2 (01:49:47):
What we just witnessed that live right now? Beautiful.

Speaker 3 (01:49:51):
I think it was Freddy Freeman who caught it. Actually
it wasn't. No, No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 2 (01:49:56):
Look at that it was.

Speaker 3 (01:49:58):
Was it tipped back by a I saw a hand,
but I can't tell Bears player trying to bat it down, but.

Speaker 8 (01:50:05):
We have Wow, Stevenson on the Bears tipped it.

Speaker 3 (01:50:11):
That's that's who it was. Man.

Speaker 2 (01:50:14):
I didn't think it was going to reach the end zone.

Speaker 6 (01:50:16):
I didn't think so there.

Speaker 3 (01:50:17):
Yeah, Wow, Hail to the Commanders. There you go, Hail
to the Mary right there there it is. Wow, all right,
Commanders win?

Speaker 6 (01:50:29):
Who cares about anything else?

Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
That was crazy, That's crazy.

Speaker 6 (01:50:32):
That was crazy. The Chargers won. But seriously, I just
I can't. I can't.

Speaker 5 (01:50:37):
Chargers had a twenty six to eight victory over the Saints.
Justin Herbert connected with Lad McConkey twice in this one.
He McConkie also had one hundred and eleven.

Speaker 6 (01:50:45):
Yards in the game. New Orleans did bench Spencer Rattler.

Speaker 5 (01:50:48):
I know if you guys noticed that in the second
half and played Jay Hayner, is that round correct? Yeah?
So he went nine for seventeen, four hundred and twenty
two yards. Earlier today, the Texans, they survived. They came
out on top twenty three to twenty against the I
don't know if you guys saw that. There was a
play with Anthony Richardson. He kind of took himself out
of the game in the third quarter. I don't know
if you guys saw that. Here is what he had
to say about that tired all.

Speaker 3 (01:51:10):
That was a lot of runner right there, what.

Speaker 2 (01:51:12):
I did, And I don't think I was gonna be
able to go that next place, So I just you know,
I just told was saying, how you needed a brick
right there.

Speaker 3 (01:51:20):
Have you ever heard a quarterback take himself off because
he's tired?

Speaker 2 (01:51:24):
No, I have not. No, that's not a good look.

Speaker 6 (01:51:29):
No, not all, not at all. But he didn't mind
saying it. He needed a moment. He was tired. Okay.
I wonder if Jayden Daniels was tired with that last film.
Mary No, okay.

Speaker 5 (01:51:41):
Hacker survived and beat the Jags thirty to twenty seven.
There's still no further update on Jordan Love's groin injury
that took him out of the game.

Speaker 6 (01:51:47):
They said that of course they're worried, but they're going
to do more tests.

Speaker 5 (01:51:50):
They took him out more as a precautionary thing, but
they said it was bothering him. Falcons held on to
defeat the Buccaneers thirty one to twenty six. The Patriots
came back to beat the Jets twenty five to twenty two.
YESPN tweeted the Jets had zero turnovers, held the Patriots
to two hundred and forty seven yards, and lost. They're
the first team to lose a game in which they
did not turn the ball over and held the opponent

(01:52:11):
under two hundred and fifty yards since Week three of
twenty twelve. Twenty twelve, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers lost
fourteen to twelve to the Seahawks in.

Speaker 6 (01:52:20):
That fail memory very since that game.

Speaker 5 (01:52:23):
Teams to do this had been twenty two hundred and
twenty and zho until today.

Speaker 2 (01:52:28):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (01:52:29):
Another wow, another wow, and not a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:52:32):
Not a good one.

Speaker 5 (01:52:33):
The Cardinals walked it off with a thirty forty yard
field goal by Chad Ryland to beat the Dolphins. The
Lions crushed the Titans fifty two to fourteen, so Detroit
improves to six and one. The Browns defeat the Ravens
at home twenty nine to twenty four, and the Eagles
took down the Bengals thirty seven to seventeen. Still to come,
it's gonna be the forty nine Ers and the Cowboys.
The Cowboys have rolled out running back Rico Daudo. Apparently

(01:52:54):
he's sick, so he is out and real quick. Here
for you guys, the AP Football poll for this week. Oregon, Georgia,
Penn State, Ohio. Those are your four, Miami, Ohio state.
Excuse me sorry, Penn State, Ohio state apology.

Speaker 6 (01:53:08):
Apologies.

Speaker 5 (01:53:09):
Miami is in at number five, its highest ranking since
twenty seventeen.

Speaker 6 (01:53:13):
Then Notre Dame BYU in Texas, A and m run
out the round out the top ten. They all moved up,
and then Colorado came in at twenty three.

Speaker 3 (01:53:21):
All right, yeah, Colorado should They got a big win
against Cincinnati last night, all eligible with Dean saying that
they are they are going for more. They want a
bigger Bowl. Who knows, right, I don't know if the
playoff is in store, but it could be. The Big
twelve is still still up for grabs, so we appreciate it.
Monzi one intending, Oh they are up at Manci Belagia. Yeah, Commanders,
get that eighteen to fifteen win. We're going to get

(01:53:42):
our week eight MVPs and we're gonna hear that final
call of how it went down for the Commanders and
that Hill Mary victory over the Bears. He's carry Roads.
I'm Dan Bayer. That's next here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:54:35):
It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio, Big one hundred

the Commanders with the improbable victory over the Bears on
the Hail Mary, no doubt the most valuable play of

Carrie breaks a playdown every week on our show called
Fast Times The Carrier Roads, and we just did it
about thirty minutes ago with the Jamison Winston Jamis Winston
excuse me? Touchdown pass that helped the Brons get the
win over the Ravens. How do you explain how this
hell mary works for the Washington Commanders And what did
the Bears do wrong and the Commanders do right to
make this play work?

Speaker 1 (01:58:52):
Well?

Speaker 2 (01:58:52):
What the what the commanders did well? Here is it
starts with Jayden Daniels, Right, he gets a snap, He's
able to buy time right, So the buying time part
is huge here in his play because he's got to
give his receivers a chance to get downfield. So by
him running around and getting himself in the position to
get the ball down there. That's number one, that's the
big thing. Number two, there's gonna be a big pile

(01:59:12):
because everybody's going to go for the ball. The number
The biggest thing they did on the back end of
that is get the receiver in the shortstop in the
backstop position, because with all the freight that's going on,
that's going to be an opportunity for if it's a tip,
for them to be able to catch it. This is
a text book hel Mary for the Commanders and for

(01:59:33):
the Bears what they did wrong here. You've got to
knock the ball down. He did not knock it down.
He tipped it up and the backstop catches it for
a clean play and that was it.

Speaker 3 (01:59:43):
I think the Bears made two mistakes, and I don't
blame them because I thought the game was over as
well when they threw the zach Ertz the Commanders did
with six seconds left, Commanders use their last time out. Yes,
the Bears let them get near midfield, up to the
forty eight yard line where you can throw the fifty
two yard pas. There was no defending and allowed the
Commanders to at least throw up a Hail Mary because

(02:00:04):
they couldn't throw the hill Mary from about their own
thirty five. Yes, Bears should have defended that. And in
this scenario, Daniels had all day to run and there
were four guys pressuring, but there was one that was
almost a safety valve. He was pointless in the play
because who cares if Jayden Daniels runs. Yeah, you hit
it right there, I mean the play before. Obviously we
don't have no time talking about it, but next time
we'll talk about it all wee. He's carry roads. I'm

(02:00:26):
Dan Byer. Tucked in Week nine Fast

Speaker 1 (02:00:28):
