should be. We are having a terrific college football Saturday.
We had a couple of blowouts early on. Now that
the official rankings are out for the upcoming twelve school playoff,
which is going to be absolutely crazy. But we've had
some upsets. Monsey undefeated, Miami no more. They go down
(00:45):
to Georgia Tech, and right now Georgia came in number
three in the rankings. They're in trouble on the road
against Old Miss Not gonna lie.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
You almost were gonna do the show by yourself because
I could not leave my couch to get ready to
come join you and do this show because of the.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Games that were happening today.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
I'm telling you, I wasn't watching Miami at first, and
then I got a notification they were down I was like, well,
I guess I'm sitting on the couch to watch this one.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
And the way it ended was just, ugh, what an upset?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
What an upset Ohio State crushing Purdue. I mean, I
did not want to leave my couch. Steve, You're lucky.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Him here, I know you now. Normally Moncey, oh, look
at no one gets here earlier than me, rightbody, Like
I was here yesterday, yes, and then I sit around
and wait all day and past her people and everything else.
Monzi is usually about a half hour before game time.
She's got a million things on her plate, so I
understand that. But yeah, I was sitting here in the
studio still waiting for her to show up, so I
(01:40):
knew that she had to be captivated by something that
was on the tube. Oh sudo game.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
I couldn't leave the couch.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
I was like, oh, you know, so we are down
now to four undefeated teams. You got number one Oregon,
you have BYU. You have Indiana, which is taking care
of business right now, leading me Michigan seventeen to six,
seven minutes to go in the third quarter there, and
then you have Army, and Army is leading on the
(02:08):
road against North Texas right now they have started the
fourth quarter. Army leads that game by a score of
fourteen to three. In fact, Daily just got in the
end zone for a second touchdown of the day. So
Army still undefeated, still undefeated, and this is really going
to be crazy. And I was just sort of thinking
about this. I mean, we've been talking about all your
(02:28):
long hou is this going to work with the twelve
school playoff? And you know who's going to get those
at large bids and all the potential matchups. Right now,
you look at the Big Ten. You have number one Oregon.
I mean again, that's still hard for me to say
Oregon number one in the Big Ten. And then you
have Ohio State rank number two in the country, but
(02:51):
they have a loss to Oregon. And then you have Indiana,
who is not only undefeated but pretty much has blown
out out everybody on their schedule and they checked in
at number eight.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
I think people thought with this twelve team playoff format
that maybe there wasn't gonna be these tough decisions, but.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
It's not that that's not the case.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
And with undefeated teams losing, it does I think complicate
more things because if you're.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Unefeated, that's easy. But when you start losing, the records
starts to look a little closer.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
It's gonna be it's there's there's gonna be some tough decisions,
even with a top twelve team playoff format.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
All right, So already today Oregon plays a little bit
later on Ohio State with a blowout win. Number three
Georgia and deep trouble right now, Number four Miami's gone
down Number five Texas. Obviously we move up after a
big win today against Florida, and then you just have
a bunch of these teams. But I'll be interested to see.
Now Indiana coming up is on the road against Ohio State. Okay,
(03:54):
so they're gonna get there. They're gonna get their opportunity
if they can go into Columbus and figure out how
way of beating the buckett. I wouldn't bet against Indiana
right now.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
I wouldn't either.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
They seem comfy, they seem very comfortable. I know Michigan's
way down this year, but they haven't been in this game.
This game actually is closer on the scoreboard than in reality.
Indiana's pretty much dominated this game, leading by a score
of seventeen to six, you know, and then what do
you do with the BYU? Remember BYU's in the Big twelve,
(04:25):
you know, you think by aren't they in the Whack
Mountain Westcott? No, no they're not. They're in the Big twelve.
So how they're going to be seeded? How this is
all going to shake out is going to be I think,
great drama for college football over the next several.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Weeks, absolutely, which you know is exciting for those of
us who don't have, you know, any steak here. I
don't care which team makes it, so it's exciting for me.
But I really did think it was going to be
a little bit easier of a playoff situation because last
year again broken hearts all over right, and so I
thought with twelve teams it was going to be a
little bit easier.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
But does seem that there will be heartbreak?
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Well, and here's the crazy thing about Miami losing today.
Suddenly when you look at the ACC SMU, SMU and
the ACC wit a second, I'm losing it here. I'm
a little partial because my dear friend Eric Dickerson obviously
went to SMU. They had the death penalty, they had
a lot of problems over the years, but eventually they
(05:23):
migrated into the ACC and with Miami losing all of
a sudden, now SMU has an opportunity to get that
bid and get themselves into the playoffs. So it's gonna
be crazy. Oregan's gonna play a little bit later on.
As we mentioned, Boise State very much in the mix
right now, Ash and gent obviously in the play and
(05:46):
the Heisman conversation. They will also play a little bit
later on. So this is going to really be great
as far as this college football is concerned. I'm excited
about this. By the way, I had a minor procedure
done on my lower left eyelids.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
You know, I can't even imagine, yeah, because what you
describe sounds a little bit terrifying, right.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
I don't want to blabor this. So I had I
cannot remember the last time I had a sty but
it was literally like on the edge on the outside
right of my eyelid and it was growing and you
know and everything. So on Thursday, two days ago, I
had to have this thing removed. Now, I don't know
about you out there, but needles, I lose it like
I I can't Like I can watch a movie and
(06:27):
there could be decapitations and all gore and everything else,
not a prop. But they pull out a needle. I'm
literally closing my eyes.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
No, and can you close your eye or did you
have to have it open?
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Oh no, no, that was the thing. So I'm sitting
in this chair. They put some drops into sort of
numb it up, but they got to do like a
needle to numb it right before sort of you know,
cleaning it out. Yeah, and I got to keep my
eye and the guy's coming in with the needle right there.
He's like, you'll feel a little prick, and I'm like okay,
and he starts depressing. It's like there's like nothing there,
(07:00):
like there's just you know, skin, I mean, it's like
your eyelid and it's like and.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Then also I'm sure don't move. They're like, don't move.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yeah, yeah, I don't want to pierce your eyeballs.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
So no, no, I think it's because I'm okay with needles,
but what.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
You have to go through things of nightmares people.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
I know, seriously, I have no problem with a needle.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
I'm literally watching if this thing is coming toward my
left eye, like I would be.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Like, can I be asleep?
Speaker 1 (07:25):
For this to completely knock me out. Yeah, it was.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Absolutely I don't know how you did that.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
I'm a whimp, I am, I admit it, I'm will you, but.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Clearly not you did it.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I had to hard pass.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I said, you know, I do a little TV work.
I can't have like this giant thing on my eyeball
and you can't put makeup on it, so I need
it removed immediately. Another game we're keeping an eye on
right now is Colorado and Texas Tech. This one was
all Texas Tech early on, but now Colorado has taking
the lead seventeen to thirteen, as they have knew now
(08:02):
in the third quarter. And I can't say enough about
the job that Dion Sanders is done with this team.
I mean, it's interesting because you you know, obviously we
talk a lot about Shudor Sanders, Travis Hunter and the
offense of these Colora Buffalo but do you remember how
bad this defense was?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Yeah, just not that long ago like last year.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
When they you know, lost their you know what, eight
out of nine games in the PAC twelve as it
was back in the day. They have completely flipped it
this year and you got it. I mean, I thought, wow,
this is gonna be tough. Colorado's moving into the Big twelve.
How's this going to work for them after being bottom
feeders in the Pac twelve a year ago? And the
answer is yeah, he's a heck of a coach.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
I think that's what's impressive about it because a lot
of people thought that the last that last season, those
wins that they got was a fluke.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
They're like, they're not going to turn around the program
so quickly. It's going to take some time.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
And he really did do it from last year to now,
from the end of the season, because they didn't look
that great at the end of the season, terrible, terrible.
Here they are looking pretty like a pretty complete deam
And I think that's what's most impressive because a lot
of people they were in our face for how many
weeks last year when the season started.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
I mean remember they started three and zero and they
were the talk of the town, and then they ended
up losing eight of the last nine games, and.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
So there was so much talk about them, and I
felt like it was very split. It was like you
were either for them or you wanted them to fail
because they were shoved in our face, which I didn't mind.
I thought they were fun to watch, but it ended
on such a low note to how the season started.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
The people just were like, that's how it's going to continue.
They were fake the whole time. It wasn't a real
dem here they are proving that well.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
I mean, he's done an unbelievable job, So any legitimacy questions,
I'm I will say I was one of them. Let's
wait and see. Yeah he did it Jackson State. Can
he do it at Colorado? But moving into the new
conference the way they have and performing the way they
are so far this year, absolutely give credit. And they've
come down. They were down Texas Tech had a thirteen
outing lead. It's now seventeen thirteen Colorado in the third quarter.
(10:03):

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Steve Harvin, Montciblanos Here Fox Football Saturday, and we are
live from the tire Rack dot Com studios, and we
are watching Texas Tech get in the end zone, so
they have taken back the lead from Colorado penning the
extra point nineteen seventeen Texas Tech. All right, let's turn
(11:28):
to the National Football League. Can you believe it? Week ten,
the official start of the second half of the NFL
regular season. Joining us right now, as he so graciously
does week after week after week, our NFL insider Adam
Kaplan will join us, and Adam, let's start with the Cowboys.
Dak plenty on season ending surgery, and we seem to
(11:51):
have a difference of opinion on where they're going with
the quarterback job because Mike McCarthy is talking about Rush
and everything else. And then all of a sudden, you
got Jerry Jones saying, you know, Trey Lance is an
intriguing guy. We can make some plays for him. So
with a lame duck coach, who is calling the shots?
Is this one hundred percent the rest of the year,
(12:12):
And now that the Cowboys without Dak obviously are no
threat to make the postseason, who's going to call the shots?
And how is this going to play out the rest
of the way for the Cowboys in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 6 (12:22):
No, it's Cooper Rush this week. Then they'll see what
happens depends how he plays. Now, he did not play
well of his five starts. The only really bad game
he had was two years ago at Philly where he
threw three picks, just didn't play why he wasn't comfortable,
So I talked to a coach whose defense went up
against Russian. He said, he's a pure pocket passer. Nice
arm doesn't move very well. If he's not protected, it's
(12:46):
going to be a long night. And Philly's defense, which
got off to a very bad start the season, is
playing much better lately. So you figured tomorrow late afternoon,
he's probably in for a struggle. Now let's get to
Trey Lance. Do not be surprised if they have a
pack to play for Trey Lance in this game. There's
just a thought around the league that this is probably
gonna happen. If it's not this game, the next game,
(13:06):
because he's more athletic, there's more he can do, and
my sense is at some point Lance is going to
get some starts. You got to take a look. They
traded for this guy, as you said, Steve, and you're right.
If they lose to Marlab three and six, they have
to be realistic here. They're not going anywhere. They're not
going to say that, and technically they'd certainly be alive
(13:26):
for a wildcard spot in the NFC. But the fact
of the matter is they like to take a look
at Trey Lance. I fully expect them to get some
starts before the end of the season.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Adam, out of my micro's done.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Let's move on here to the Texans because I just
am a little bit disappointed as what I've seen this year.
I know they've had a lot of injuries, but several
teams have. They're going to take on the Lions this week.
Any chance that the Texans don't win the AFC South, Oh.
Speaker 6 (13:53):
Yeah, I mean, if you look at it right now, though,
I do want to say that they got great news.
This is a surprising Nico Collins is going to play.
He only had one practice in today's walkthrough. That's not
typically what happened. It's extremely rare. But he had a
great practice. As I understand it, he look fine and
he'll play. And Tank Tail, their other starting receiver, is
a game day decision. They'll work them out for the
(14:14):
game to see how he's looking with his injury. But
when you really look at it, with that division, yeah,
are they are they the clear favorite?
Speaker 7 (14:22):
Yes, no question about it.
Speaker 6 (14:24):
But let's say the Colts with Joe Flacco upset tomorrow
the Bills and the Texans locid the Lions.
Speaker 7 (14:31):
Then now you're down tightened up.
Speaker 6 (14:33):
So yeah, look They're still the clear favorite, there's no
question about it. But there's been something missing from this offense.
Obviously not having Nico Collins their number one receiver, not
having Stefan Diggs Unfortunately the rest of the season, that's
completely curtailed everything. And you know, their defense has not
been great. They're not going to their star pass rusher
(14:53):
Will Anderson tomorrow. That's disappointing and it's gonna be hard.
Look that Lions are. It's funny for the for thirty
years a line the worst road team in then after
the FOOTBA League by far, now they're one of the best.
Speaker 7 (15:03):
It's they're a great team.
Speaker 6 (15:04):
And I expect the Lions to win this game to
bounce with you, but boy, if they lost in the
Colts win, it would be kind of interesting.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Well, based on records. The matchup of the week is
Steelers at the Commanders. You had Steelers at six and two,
Commanders at seven and two. Are either one of these
teams or both of these teams serious postseason contenders? Are
they just going to collapse in the second half or
sneak in the playoffs and have a quick exit? Which
(15:33):
one of these two teams? Do you have a stronger
sense in the validity of their record.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
It's a good question because it's funny. Both have had
a very easy schedule so far. Now the Steelers turns
really hard. They have one of the most difficult ones
for the second half of the season. Now, if they
win tomorrow at Washington, which I expect them to do,
they're looking really good. And look right now, they're technically
in first place in the AFC North. That division probably
(16:02):
go down the last couple of weeks. But Washington's kind
of overachieved. Not a great roster, the quarterback Jane Daniels
has been phenomenal.
Speaker 7 (16:10):
He would certainly lead my voting for Rookie of the Year.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
I'd voted in two polls and he certainly would be
that for offensive rookie of the year. But when you
look at this situation, Washington's done a good job. Not
very talented on the offensive line, not great pass rushers.
But talking to Washington last week, it's really the chemistry
and what dan Quinn's brought in there, the culture of positivity,
(16:33):
pulling for each other, and also one other thing, and
I know it's hard to estimate this, but not having
a head coach who was personnel control, not having to
deal with the owner, Daniel Snyder anymore, because that was
the problem with Ron Rivera. He had personnel control which
he really shouldn't have been given, and he had to
deal with all the issues with Daniel Snyder when he
was the head coach there and it's just overwhelmed him.
(16:56):
And dan Quinn doesn't have to worry about that. He
does not have personal control. Adam Peters does. Just has
to coach the football team. And so far, so good.
But to answer your question, Steve, they're going to get
the playoffs, that their their schedules too good, and they
are their number two seed right now, but it's really
going to come down to those two games against the Eagles.
They play the Eagles this coming Thursday in Philly Thursday night.
(17:16):
Both both teams obviously will be in a short week,
and then you know Washington. The rest of the way
is can they not lose to bad teams that are
clearly inferior.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Adam, Let's let's talk about the Jets.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Because the boyfriend of mine thinks they're about to get
hot and thinks.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
They're about to sneak into the postseason. I was like, well,
I'm going to bring this up to Adam. He thinks
that it has to do more with.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Aaron Rodgers having a bit of a Michael Jordan esque
mentality where it's like he only cares about winning and
if it's starting to maybe come together, and that he
thinks they're about to get hot.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
Well, I'll say this, he made some incredible throws against
the Texans, but you know, in that game it was
still very difficult for they only score twenty one points.
The touchdown pass to Wilson was just incredible. I mean it,
I'm not sure, to be honest with you, I'm not sure.
We've talked about this their culture and what's going on
with this football team. And you know, look this game
(18:14):
tomorrow at the Cardinals. The Cardinals are one of those
teams no one saw coming.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Three wins in a row.
Speaker 6 (18:20):
It's just crazy. Yeah, they're another team like I can't
I who saw this? This is crazy. The quarterback doesn't
have to throw the football, James Connor. This is another
thing about James Connor. It's rare in the national football
get running back. You get better as you get older.
He has proven that he's been special. And they're they're
very efficient, they're doing a great job. This is a
huge game for both football teams. And now with Christian
(18:43):
McCaffrey coming back for the Niners tomorrow, the Cardinals got
some one tugging on their heels here with the Niners
here because you get McCaffrey back. Obviously they're not gonna
have eye you for the rest of the season, but
they're getting healthier.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Let's go back to Thursday night. Phenomenal game, absolutely phenomenal,
two great quarterbacks back and forth. You know, Joe Burrow
is as good as advertised, and then you watch Lamar
Jackson and every time you think you've seen the best
of Lamar Jackson, he takes it to another level. But
what did you make of the non calls, the controversial
non calls at the end of the game on that
(19:17):
potential game winning two point conversion for the Bengals.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
Here's the thing that's clearly a penalty. It has to
be called. The problem is you can challenge penalties. And
this is what Bill Belichick had been talking about. He
wanted the ability for you to be able to challenge
any penalty. Now I know, and the argument that the
league said when I asked him, and why they don't
think it passed through the competition committee is you don't.
(19:42):
Of course, obviously you have to limit how many times
you could you could challenge, but they don't want to
lengthen games. And my response to this, don't you want
everything to be on the up and.
Speaker 7 (19:50):
Up and have better football games? And didn't get it.
Speaker 6 (19:54):
Didn't get really an answer on that when I was
at the owner's meetings over the years.
Speaker 7 (19:57):
So that to me, that was such an od hold.
Speaker 6 (20:02):
On Tanner Hudson the tight end, like clearly, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
And it's play where they dropped the flag immediately. Yes,
under normal circumstances, they dropped that defensive holding penalty probably
as much as any penalty around.
Speaker 7 (20:18):
That was Steve. It's funny.
Speaker 6 (20:19):
That was one of the most obvious holes I've seen
before the ball got there, Like, it's got to be
you got to call that.
Speaker 7 (20:26):
That's a shame.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
And then there's a face mask. I'm sorry, you grab
the face mask of a quarterback even when he's released
the ball. That's a face mask.
Speaker 6 (20:35):
Yeah, yeah, no doubt yeah, And by all over social media,
by the way we all saw it, it's bad.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Man.
Speaker 6 (20:43):
It just disappoints me that you can't challenge your stuff,
no team, and look I've seen it when it let's
say it's game seventeen and staff's on its way to
being either staying or going based on what happens is
last game. Then you see what happens when there's a miscall.
Remember remember this with Seattle and the viny Testa already
play when he was a Jets quarterback and they got
away with something and that staff got fired for Seattle,
(21:05):
Dennis Erickson staff. So look, it should never come down
to that, Steve, I'm glad you brought that up, because
that was egregious and embarrassing.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Last one from me. Broncos and Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Chiefs seemed to be picking up picking it up right now?
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Offensively?
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Are they?
Speaker 2 (21:21):
It seems that way with DeAndre Hopkins, it just seems
like good things are starting to kind of come together
and they're already eight and zero.
Speaker 7 (21:30):
Like it is.
Speaker 6 (21:31):
They're not a clean team that when you watch it,
you go, okay, what's the problem. Fact I thought Tampa
Bay through three quarters quite frankly kicked their butt and
then they kind of lost it. Mahomes found his magic,
he got Kelsey and you mentioned de hop the ball
they were incredible together. They're still looking for Xavier Worthy
to be a factor. He's unfortunately non factor. They're looking
(21:52):
for that third passing option, which they don't have. But
karam Han found that fountain of you. Boy, he looked
really good. Their offense did raw. Boy, it did not
look in the first half, but I was very impressed
with what they're able to do. It's too bad that
the Bucks had to have that game. And that's a
shame because you know, without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin,
it's just not the same football team.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
Well, to quote my late great ex boss, just win baby,
And that's what the Chiefs are doing. Just I mean,
it's not pretty. I mean, if you if, if you
if you're using the eyeball test. I don't even know
if they're in the top four teams in the league
right now.
Speaker 7 (22:29):
Troy is number one for me.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Detroit is a runaway number. By the way, our Chris
Burfet is a diehard Lions guy. He's not here, so
I can actually say that he denies. You know, I
covered the team. I asked him, I said, how nervous
are you that? Right now? In the moment, it's universal.
Everyone is saying that's the best team in the league,
that Detroit lines. He goes, it's getting me a little
(22:51):
bit nervous right now, just a little bit nervous. But
the reality is they are great. Stuff is always Adam
looking forward to it Week ten in FL. The great
Adam Kaplan. Thank you Adam, Thanks guys, that's Adam Kaplan
our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider. All right, let's find
out what is a trending right now? Allen, Well Martin,
(23:12):
what's going on out there on this crazy college football Saturday.
Speaker 8 (23:16):
Well, it's looking even crazier down south right now because
the Georgia Bulldogs don't turn it around. It's looking ugly.
It's a twenty two to ten leader right now for
the whole miss Rebels. But again one of these this
is a theme for today games. The score closer than
it seems.
Speaker 7 (23:32):
Right.
Speaker 8 (23:32):
So the twelve point lead for Georgia right now, fourth
and ten for the Georgia Bulldogs. They are gonna go
forward deep in their own on Mississippi's twenty seven yard line.
We'll see how that play ends up. Jack Carson Beck
not having his best day. Nine thirty five left in
the fourth quarter for Michigan and Indiana. Michigan that just
scored a touchdown win for two got that to cut
the lead for Indiana to to the undefeated Hoosiers now
(23:55):
leading seventeen to fifteen, nine thirty five left in the
fourth quarter. Looks like an interception on fourth down for
Carson beck Ole, miss will take the ball back again
at twenty two to ten, seven twenty two left in
a fourth quarter there. Now back to games that are
going on. Other games here FS one Kansas and Hiowa State.
Kansas had a thirty one to thirteen lead at one
(24:16):
point in this game, now thirty eight to twenty eight,
six forty six left in the fourth quarter for the
one loss cyclone, seventeen thirty team in the nation. Kansas
only has two wins on the year. Catching that won
on FS one, Armies extended its lead on North Texas
fourteen to three, two fifteen left in the fourth quarter. There,
Clemson extending its lead on Virginia Tech twenty one to seven,
(24:37):
eight fourteen left in the fourth quarter there, and Colorado
has taken the lead for the first time today.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Over Texas Tech.
Speaker 8 (24:43):
Texas Tech had jumped out to a thirteen nothing lead
in the first quarter, Colorado now outscoring the Red Raiders
twenty four to seven. Since then twenty four to twenty
the score shdor Sanders twenty one for thirty to twenty
six through the air two touchdowns. Earlier today, we saw
Ohio State pound Perdue forty five to nothing, Florida lost
(25:04):
to Texas forty nine to seventeen, and Georgia Tech upset
Miami twenty eight to twenty three. And the NFL Chris
Alave has been on injury reserve. He suffered another concussion
last week. It's the second one of the year. He's
on injured reserve. For the New Orleans Saints, Tyreek Hill
has a risk injury. He's questionable for Monday's game. Head
(25:25):
coach Miami Daniel says he's neither optimistic nor pessimistic that
he'll play.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
On the other side of that.
Speaker 8 (25:30):
Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson, two guards for the Rams,
they'll be up and active for Monday's game. For Los Angeles,
Adam Chefter's reporting that Cowboys quarterback Dack Prescott will likely
undergo season ending hamstring surgery, and also in the NFC East,
the Commanders have ruled out kicker Austron Cyber for Sunday's
matchup against Pittsburgh in the NBA. Pelicans forward Zion Williamson
(25:51):
out indefinitely due to a left hamstring injury.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Monty and Steve back to the yall.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
That was so annoying to see that this morning, not
you Martin news about Zion Williamson.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, was so annoying.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
I mean, and it's like, what the best shape of
his life?
Speaker 2 (26:08):
I read that like out of four hundred games, he's
played maybe half of them.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
All. Right, here, here's the thing, and Lee Martin on
here Martin, when you were nineteen years old, yes, nineteen
years old? Just a few wait, what year was that?
Nineteen years old? What would you say? Physically you were
like at nineteen, I could dunk still, you could dunk still.
(26:33):
You were lean and mean, I would say at nineteen, right,
meaner than leaner, but I can still get Okay. Well,
my point is this is that for most men. I'm
not going to include ladies because I don't know about
the ladies, but I mean physically, for men, I've gone
through this process. I've seen it with my sons. You're
one way at nineteen and then you sort of mature physically,
(26:56):
because I remember when I was nineteen in college, I
wasn't eating a lot, and yet you start filling out.
The body just naturally fills out. When Zion was nineteen,
he was a natural two seventy and he's what, how
tall do you think he really is? Six ' five?
Six five is okay? I've seen him in person before.
(27:17):
He's not that much taller than me, right, so he's
like six ' five. But as a nineteen year old,
that's like your natural weight. And so the idea that
you know he wasn't going to have challenges weight wise
was unreasonable. And when you're playing the game of basketball,
and everyone will talk about this, the late great Bill Walton,
(27:41):
really his NBA career ended because of foot problems and
it caused all the physical problems on top of that.
And so when you're carrying that kind of weight and
the pounding, constant pounding on those hard floors. It just
as insanely talented as Zion Williamson is. You knew this
(28:03):
guy was going to be in for trouble trying to
maintain that body over an eighty two game schedule.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
That's kind of what I wonder, did they know this,
and they just ignored it, hoped for the best that
he was gonna be.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Guy played the game. How get his numbers? Yeah, these
guys put up huge numbers when he's on the course
on the court.
Speaker 8 (28:22):
I made a bet with a buddy and mine at
work that the day that the day after the draft lottery,
when you saw the entire Pelican organizations standing on top
of the table like.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Hell yeah, we get the number one overall pick.
Speaker 8 (28:34):
I said, they're gonna take is going to be a
huge miss if they draft Zion and not take John Moran.
So if they don't take John Moran, they're going to
rue the day that they made this. And he's like,
what do you mean John this? And I said, I
bet your job plays more games in the NBA than
Zion does.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Just because of his size already that.
Speaker 8 (28:50):
Jos had two sixty five I on one ninety And
he remember, uh, I.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Think you said that background No.
Speaker 8 (28:56):
I said that right, John Moran has two sixty five
games played in the game.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
You're talking about weight. I was like, what two.
Speaker 8 (29:02):
Hundred sixty five NBA games played for John Moran, one
ninety for Zion? In said, mind you and that vincident
in Denver. Well also knocked out half of Josh Rants.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Season well exactly, I mean he was suspended, so that's
why he missed most of those games. I mean, he's
brought his own set of troubles obviously to the NBA,
but as far as Zion, when he busted out of
that shoe a duke where the shoe just exploded on him,
like I've never seen that before. There were signs team
they were signed, there were signs like you were playing
your foot and you literally bust out of a shoe.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
But I don't know how you didn't take him first overall,
because what if, what if? What if he wasn't injury
prone and he was just a big dude who would
be able to hang, Then you'd be like, man, we
missed out because he was the next big thing after long.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Oh, absolutely, like the next big thing.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
You can't deny his talent, No, no, no, not at all.
It's just but there's it's a long seasons, eighty two
games and then hopefully a long run in the playoffs.
Do the math. I mean, you put intentionally one hundred
games and that body simply was not going to hold up.
By the way, getting interesting now, in this Indiana Michigan game.
So we were talking about Indiana trying to maintain their
(30:12):
undefeated schedule, Michigan coming in at five and four. Well,
Michigan has the ball right now. They got the ball back.
They're now trailing Indiana seventeen to fifteen with seven minutes
to go in the fourth quarters, so they have an
opportunity here. It's been a challenge offensively for the Wolverines
all season long. Can they mount a drive? Meanwhile, Old
(30:34):
Miss after an interception is driving once again, and this
game is getting away from Georgia quickly. We're at the
five minute mark Old Miss in Georgia territory and already
leading this game by a score of twenty two to ten.
I will say this in defense of Carson Beck, who
obviously has underperformed what preseason projections were for him. The
(30:59):
interception he threw was tipped at the line of scrimmage,
so it was sort of an air and throw based
on a tip. That being said, if you're going to
be a true challenger for the national championship, most likely
you have to have an elite quarterback at the college level.
Carson Beck is not that. He's just not in fact,
the guy he's playing against, Jackson Dart, is a better
(31:22):
quarterback and that's why one of the and by the way,
Dart was out for much of this game. He had
a you gotta suffered an injury in the first half.
He's back in the field now. But Dart's a better
quarterback than Beck. And that's the main reason right now,
Ole miss uh with five minutes ago, very much in
control of this game to take down number three Georgia.
But this is the whole thing about the playoff Montsi,
(31:43):
is that we could see on Miami lose today. Even
if Georgia loses a second time, are they out? Can
they still rally? So much is going to be the
question of, all right, you got your conference champions get
the automatic right of the power conferences? Do you give
(32:05):
more weight to those that played in a conference championship
game and loss as opposed to a team that missed it.
I mentioned that in the Big Ten. I mean if
Indiana loses only one game. Let's say they lose to
Ohio State on the road next week and it's a
competitive game, and then they're locked out of the Big
(32:26):
Ten championship game because it comes down to Oregon and
Ohio State. Where does that put Indiana as an at
large team?
Speaker 3 (32:33):
See?
Speaker 2 (32:33):
I think you have to give positive credit if you
get to a championship game.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
You can't look at the loss if you get there.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
This especially because there's no longer divisions. It's the top
two teams.
Speaker 9 (32:43):
Right.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Didn't this just happen last year?
Speaker 1 (32:46):
But you have the divisions which was a little bit distorted.
They've done away with that. Ye Now it's like just
the top two teams in each conference.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
No, I think I'm so glad I don't have to
make these decisions because it's really not black and it's
very great. But I think that you cannot hold a
championship loss against the team.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
If you get to a championship.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Depends on how bad that loss was. I was sure,
sure you have a boat race.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Yeah, but I think if it's a close one and
you get I don't think that should be held against
you over somebody who didn't make the championship game.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
I'm excited about this. I'm excited to see how this
is gonna shake out. All right. Coming up on the
other side, there's something else has to be decided. Who
is going to win the Heisman Trophy and I've got
my Heisman update coming up. This is Fox Football Saturday.
Speaker 5 (33:32):

Speaker 1 (33:44):
Steve Harbin, Manzy Belanos. Here on Fox Football Saturday. I
must interject here, young MC, who did You're not gonna
believe this. I'm gonna give you a little street cred here.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Oo.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
So I was at a movie premiere for a movie
called Glory Rhoads. He was about Texas Western basketball team
in nineteen sixty six. And I don't remember what the
I might have been the Pantagious Theater in Hollywood, but
there was a big red carpet opening that I was
invited to because we had helped do promotion for the film.
So the only way for me to walk into the
(34:18):
theater was I had to walk down the red carpet.
Now I wasn't you know. I was dressed nice, you know,
but I was like, you know, so I'm literally walking
down the red carpet when somebody yells out my name,
Hey Hartman. So I turn all of a sudden, they
are flashing lights at me like they're taking my picture,
and I'm like, no, no, no, no, no no no, I'm
not like one of those people. So anyway, I walk
(34:40):
into the theater and I hear some guy yell out Hartman,
and I turned around. I recognize him immediately, young MC.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
And how did he know Hartman?
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Well, I guess he had seen me on TV doing
football whatever and super guy. I couldn't believe.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
It, Like, yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
You are, But how do you know who I am?
You are the guy with who you know? Heisman votes?
I guess so true. So anyway, I'm glad to say that. Yeah, great,
young yets. All right, Yes it is that time, and
once again to repeat, we are coming alive from the
tire rack dot Com studios. All right, let's get to
it right now. Each week I update you on where
(35:20):
I stand three, two, one in the heis and race.
I think there are four people in contention. I'm only
at three spots on my ballot. No tie this week,
tie this week, So let's get it started. Here is
my current number three. It takes the hand off set
the throw, throws to the end zone, catch it the
one end.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
Zound touchdown, touchdown, Colorado the best player in college football
once again, Travis Hunter finds the.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
End zone for the sixth time this season. That's Mark
Johnson from lear Field. And yes, Travis Hunter, who, by
the way, just scored to increase that Colorado lead on
the against Texas Tech.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Scored on second and nineteen.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Yeah, second and nineteen, and he put the gas on
and took off.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
He is up of this way. He is very very
much in the race right now. He is my current
number three. Here is my current number two. On third
goal from the three, Gabriel snap, let's throw it, Jilli
Spade run out to the left. Was it caught? It
(36:26):
was touchdown. Heaven Stewart got Cherry Allen from lear Field.
Dylan Gabriel in his ninth year of college. No, it's
actually his what is it five years? Six years? Oh god,
something like that. But when you're the quarterback and the
number one team in the country and have the kind
of numbers that Dylan Gabriel's put up this year, that's
how you come down to the final three on the
(36:48):
Heisman list. He's had a great season, but he's not
number one. This guy is.
Speaker 9 (36:55):
Coming in motion as Baits hand off genty to the
right side genty Shed's attack for thirty forty fifty forty
it's a foot race thirty twenty ten another one play
drive for Ashton genty seventy five yards on the score.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
That's bobbylar from lear Field Boys State running back Ashton genty.
Now a lot has been talked about the last couple
of games that he's not averaging twelve yards in carry
like it early in the year. Still for the season,
one hundred ninety carries, fifteen hundred and twenty five yards
and twenty touchdowns. They have a home game tonight against
a really bad Nevada Wolfpack team. Lookout. Yeah, he may
(37:35):
really roll it up this week. So just based on
the numbers alone. Now, I will say this. I know
they're cam Ward fans out there. They're saying, come on man.
He had what three hundred and forty nine yards passing,
three touchdowns, no picks. Unfortunately, he had a big fumble.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
At the worst time. It's the worst worst.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
Time possible time. Cam Ward is not out of the chase,
but the timing worked against him today and that's why
he just got eked out of my current top three.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
But he's there, he's hovering.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Oh he's hovering.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
Yeah, you know, I Quinn yours? How far away is
he from it?
Speaker 1 (38:10):
For you? Quin Ewers Jackson Dart in Mississippi, who had
that monster game last week. I mean, right now, looks
like they're going to be pulling out this win against Georgia.
They're up twenty five to ten with three minutes to
go and they have the ball, so you know, you
get a win against Georgia like this. He hasn't had
overwhelming numbers today, but you know, again beating Georgia. Yeah,
(38:31):
so I would say, yeah, yours Dart, they're on the peripheral,
They're there, And ultimately, as the season winds down, I
always say the same thing, what did you do in
that biggest game? And I really think it's going to
come down to those final conference championship games.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
Yeah, for sure, because yours today, I was like, I
wonder if he's going to pop up on your list
since he had five touchdown passes today.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
And it was such a blowout.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
It was such a sometimes like does that go against.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
Well, it's not a knock on him, Like the idea
is you want to put up numbers, right, but it's
against who you know. I mean, yeah, by the way,
we're watching this Indiana Michigan game. This thing is coming
down to the wire. Indiana got a field goal to
increase their lead to twenty to fifteen, and Michigan has
(39:17):
one last opportunity here with a little over two minutes
to go to eat out of victory. That they had
a long way to go. But this is huge because
again Indiana Army's in. They won today. Oregon still is
going to be playing today. Is BYU off this week?
Speaker 3 (39:34):
I believe? No, they're playing later today.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Okay, so they're playing later today. But yeah, we got
four undefeated teams left.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Yeah, they're not playing until ten fifteen Eastern, late.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
Late, late late. I don't mind that. I was watching
my UCLA Bruins lately.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
I don't mind it either. I'm a night owl. You
see me in the morning.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
I'm surprised I didn't hear from Iowa Sam.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
He was there.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
I know he was there. In fact, he's been to
two Iowa games this year, because I I know he
went to the Iowa state game and they've lost both
those games.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
Yeah, that's probably why you didn't hear from him.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
So I think that Iowa Sam has officially been barred
from ever going to another University of Iowa football game.
All right, we're gonna turn our attention to a busy
week ten in the NFL. This is Fox Football Saturday,
rolling along here on another huge sports Saturday, Fox Football Saturday,
and we're broadcasting live from the ty iraq dot com
studios tyrag dot com. We're gonna get you there and
(40:27):
unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road ads, a protection
over ten thousand recommended installers ti iraq dot com, the
way tire buying should be. So, the number three team
in the playoff rankings, Georgia is about to go down.
They're down big, barely a minute ago. Right now, and
Ole miss is taking care of business by a score
(40:48):
of twenty eight to ten. The number four team on
defeat of Miami. No more, they lose the Georgia Tech.
It's already got a few games that are gonna change
the landscape week to week. This is what that's going
to happen right now. But I'm looking at that SEC.
I don't know where you got. You got Tennessee, you
got Texas, A and m All of a sudden, you
have both Georgia and Alabama with two losses, Alabama getting
(41:10):
ready to take on LSU, but they have all these
other teams. Now, you got ole Miss sitting there with
just two losses and a big one over.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Georgia seriously holding them to just a field goal in
the second half.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
Yeah, like, what did y'all say at halftime? Georgia?
Speaker 2 (41:23):
How did you not figure they scored in the first
quarter and have only hit a field goal since then.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Yeah, it's not like Ole Miss is known as a
defensive juggernaut. Carson Beck is not having a good year.
I mean, that's just flat out what it is if
you're gonna wun. Meanwhile, we're watching Indiana right now as
they are running it out against Michigan. It looks like
this game is now going to be over. Indiana will
stay undefeated. They have a twenty to fifteen lead inside
(41:50):
a minute to go. So Indiana taking care of Michigan, who,
by the way, falls to five and five after a
fifteen and o season.
Speaker 2 (41:58):
Five and five, that's all right, they got a trophy,
they did, and we talked about it.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
I need to blame with our Michigan man here, Martin.
He said, yeah, he says, got the ring. I don't care.
That's true. I mean, I mean what they they only
lost a total what three games in the last three
years combined.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
And lost like sixteen players from last year.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
Yeah, and he does blame Jim Harbaugh. Yes, I coach
of you're below, who, by the way, is in the
running for NFL Coach of the Year for what he's
doing with the Chargers this year. I didn't think that
they had a ghost of a chance to be a
playoff contender. They are, by the way. I wanted to
bring up something because I know you're a dog person. Yeah,
(42:41):
and you know that I'm a dog person. And Kirk
kirk Street on College game Day today, I guess he
put it out on social media that his beloved Ben,
his retriever, had passed away, and so they were going
to do that. They wanted him to introduce a little
piece that he had done on it. And he's on
the set of game Day and the and the crowds
(43:03):
cheering for Ben and understandable for people like you and
me that understand this, his emotions got the best of them.
Like he he just stopped and he was crying, and
he just could not introduce the own piece that he
had did you know I I you know, it's it's it's.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
No, I'm good, I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm good. I'm good.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
I know, I know.
Speaker 9 (43:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:34):
No, seeing that kind of stuff though, I mean, it
just it reminds you. Again, I mean, not everybody is
a pet lover. No I get I get that, but
if you are, And that was very real of what
he was going through. And and again he had brought
up in the piece that at a time when you know,
(43:54):
there just seems to be so much turmoil, and you
know there seems to be anger, and there's this that
and everything else, when you have your best friend there,
you know that no matter what, everything is, okay, that's
just irreplaceable.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
It really is. It really is. And like I am,
I'm tearing up here just because.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
Many of us who do love dogs would would spend
every dollar we could to save the dog and sometimes
it's just doesn't matter. And his dog passed away because
of cancer, Dexter. You know, I put him down in August,
and he was a cancer survivor. I had to amputat
his leg three years ago. And he was a trooper
and he was a champion. And like I saying, goodbye.
(44:39):
It's like, I still I miss my dog every single day,
and I can't imagine when he's going through taking his dog.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
To work with him everywhere.
Speaker 2 (44:47):
Like, I haven't watched any of the videos with sound
because I don't I don't want to like break down,
So I've just watched them in silence because it's a
little bit easier, yeah, than hearing it.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
But I feel for him.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
But may Ben be with my dog Dexter in a
better place and uh, with the what was your lab's
name from Charlie, Charlie, may they all be running somewhere
much better than here.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
Yeah? Absolutely, So you know, it was very heartfelt and uh,
you know, just very humanizing. A lot of times we
sort of lose sight. But I didn't want to do
this to you. I really did. I really didn't want
to do this.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
Listen, It's fine, it happens. It happens in the drive
through at Starbucks.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Don't work, but it's all good. It's all. They're all
right here watching over us right now. Yeah, exactly, they
are exactly. So anyway, I thought it was it was
hard to watch, but it was also a thing of
beauty just to see that kind of bond between a
dog and a dog and his dad.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
And a famous dog. You know, like everyone knew who
that dog.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Everyone knew Ben. Everybody knew this.
Speaker 3 (45:59):
Ben been for sure, so like it just and he was.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
A very chill dog. I like chill tom wise he was.
Speaker 2 (46:06):
And you never you heard that he never went to
the rest room on the field, that he knew that
that grass was.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
Not for him.
Speaker 2 (46:13):
He would walk away like he what a what a
what a nice companion to have to be able to
just take with you wherever you go.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Well, I mean that was what you always blew me away.
I mean, you know, let's face it, Kirk Kurbstreet, he's
doing Sunday Thursday Night football. By the way, I was thinking, now,
when did he pass did he do that Thursday night game?
Speaker 4 (46:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (46:35):
After I think it was so passed because it was
an incredible game. Yeah, because and obviously it was one
of those games. I mean, it's the best Thursday night
game we've had, not just this year, it's been a
long time since we had that kind of Thursday night
football game. But I mean he must.
Speaker 3 (46:49):
Have been a wreck, had to have been.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
And you know, sometimes it's easier to keep going than
to sit at home. But because I think on.
Speaker 3 (46:55):
Tuesday he had posted that he.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
Was going through chemo and was like trying to figure
it out, and then all of a sudden it wasn't
He posted that it had spread to his organs and
they couldn't do anything about it. But I feel like
he was just fighting for it Monday Tuesday, and then
that happened.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Oh very yeah, but you know, good for him.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
I'm sorry I brought it up to everybody, but I
just I mean, it was it was beautiful. I mean,
it's sad. As painful as it is, it is still
beautiful for those that are animal lovers and pet lovers.
You know, it was a beautiful thing. Really. It just
pointed out again it's a final Mississippi has taken care
and wasn't even close.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
It was not close.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
Old miss Is obliterated Georgia twenty eight to ten. So
where does Georgia now go in the rankings? Where does
Miami now go in the rankings? After the loss? The
Oregon game, by the way, is just kicked off. Maryland
has the ball first. We got Tennessee. They're very much
in the mix. They got a seemingly easy game at
home today. Against Mississippi State. Notre Dame very much in
(47:56):
the mix. Can you believe they're playing Florida State? Florida
State could if they lose a Notre dB one and nine.
This team was thirteen and oh last year before. Of course,
none of the players showed up for the bowl game.
After the disappointment and not making the playoff from that
to one and eight soon to be, I'm sure one
in nine and then you got LSU in Alabama and
(48:21):
this is going to be a very interesting game. You
gotta believe three losses and you're out.
Speaker 3 (48:27):
You think so, you think three.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
I can't imagine a three loss team getting in that
large bid. And both Alabama and LSU come into this
game at six and two. I mean you say Alabama, Yeah, Alabama,
they lose a third game, and you know, obviously it's
a to me, it's a coin toss game. With this
game being in Bata Rouge, I have.
Speaker 2 (48:53):
A hard time believing that if Alabama has three losses
that they're not in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
I don't think they're just going to get there on
their name alone. I just don't.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
I mean, that's that's that's just how it should be.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
You're right, if you's correct, if you look at Alabama's schedule,
they beat Georgia, right, but since then Georgia, you know,
obviously now has lost this game to Ole Miss, You
lost to Vanderbilt, you lost to Tennessee. I mean Tennessee
has to be ahead of Alabama right now. Now, Alabama
had a great game. They blew out you know, Missouri
(49:28):
at home, who is ranked going into that game. You know,
then they have Mercer, They're at Oklahoma, the Auburn. They
have enough games left on their schedule, but none of
them are against ranked teams. This is the game they
have to win.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
And then speaking of like what do you hold more
weight to, do you hold that weight to Vanderbilt because
it's they should not have lost to Vanderbilt.
Speaker 1 (49:51):
Well you say that, but Vanderbilt is also in the
mix at that time.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
They shouldn't have lost to Vanderbilt right.
Speaker 1 (49:57):
In the SEC alone, here's a teams that have two
or less losses. Georgia has two now and MS two,
Texas has one, Tennessee has one, LSUS two, Ole misshas two,
Alabama has two. They're not gonna take all these teams.
It's not the only it's not the sel. It's not
the SEC tournament. It's a college football playoff at the most,
(50:21):
at the most two losses, they'll take four teams out
of the SEC, and I'm not sure they should. I've
watched SEC football. This conference is not at the same
level we've seen in recent years.
Speaker 7 (50:34):
They're just not so.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
By the way, Missouri has two losses, although they got
smoked last week by Alabama, So no, I don't think so.
I think whatever two teams are matched up in the
SEC championship game, obviously you will have the inside track
and maybe one more team out of the SEC. All Right,
we'll get off college football a little bit because we
(50:57):
got a lot of NFL news. When is it going
to get right for the Dallas Cowboys?
Speaker 9 (51:03):
Nah?
Speaker 3 (51:03):
Anytime everow Dak Prescott again.
Speaker 1 (51:07):
As soon as I picked him to win the Super Bowl.
It's right there on that. Yeah, I mean that was
the ultimate kiss of death. Hartman just absolutely put the
kebash on their season. With my preseason prediction that this
would be the year that Dallas had finally win another
Super Bowl. Now the DAC is out, Where are they
going to go from here? We'll break it down. This
is Fox Football Saturday, Steve Harvey, Montzi Blagos. Here Fox
(51:30):
Football Saturday. We're coming you alive from the tirerack dot
com studios. Hey, don't forget after the short podcast is
going up. So if you miss any of today's show,
check out the podcast. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcasts, then follow rate and review the podcast. Again,
just search Fox Sports radioever you get your podcasts, and
you'll see the show posted right after we get off
(51:52):
the air. So this was an election week and I've
been hearing this a lot all week that certain people
need to take a look in the mirror. That seems
to be an operative phrase, right, like you need to
look in the mirror, Like if things are not going
right or the way things need have been planned or
(52:15):
what you expect, then you need some reflection on what
what am I doing wrong? Okay, like where am I
going with this? Right? So we're hearing a lot of
you need to look in the mirror. The Dallas Cowboys
need to look in the mirror because apparently this hamstring
injury that Dak Prescott suffered against the Falcons, they are
(52:40):
the reports are he's going to have season any surgery right,
and any delusion that without Dak Prescott that this team
with Cooper Rush or Trey Lance is going to be
a playoff contender is just that delusional. But this is
this is where you have to you really have to
(53:01):
do some introspective. You have to think about it, like
why aren't we able to get where we think we
should be. The Dallas Cowboys are the most valued professional
franchise in the world, so as a businessman, Jerry Jones
has done everything right to build this empire with the
(53:23):
Dallas Cowboys, but again they have not been to even
a conference championship game in twenty nine years.
Speaker 2 (53:32):
I mean, that's impressive. That really is incredible if you
think about that. The Dallas Cowboys are an iconic logo. Yes,
you show that most.
Speaker 3 (53:42):
People know what it is.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
I can show that to my friends who are not
sports fans, they would know that that's a Cowboy logo.
So it's kind of impressive that he's managed to do
that and then at the same time not find success.
You're saying delusion. Has a delusion been here for a
couple of years now, because there seems to be like
(54:03):
I don't know if the disconnect is because of Dak,
because of Mike McCarthy because of Jerry Jones. But the
culture there just seems like it's disconnected. You know, they
complain about the tours that they say. As somebody who
works in tours, I think about that all the time
because when I'm at Dodger Stadium, Yeah, you you're gonna
run into players on a tour, very likely. In fact,
(54:24):
if you have the highest, most expensive tour, which is
a clubhouse tour, you might see them working out.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
And I don't.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
I've never heard the players feel like they're being looked
at or they're being you know, like and if the
players truly don't want something like, we'll go around them.
But honestly, I think about how much they complain about that.
I'm not saying that they shouldn't, but it seems like
there is a disconnect, like they're not on the same page.
I feel like they're not having fun, which is probably
(54:51):
the biggest thing to all of this.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
I don't think you're having fun. I don't think you're
having fun with your teammates.
Speaker 2 (54:56):
While other teams just keep getting a little bit better,
having a little bit of fun, and so you are
getting further and further away from actually having success. But
this doesn't have to do with this year. This is
several years in the making.
Speaker 1 (55:09):
Well, here was one of the problems going into this year.
You needed to address the running back situation.
Speaker 3 (55:17):
And so I think they did.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
They obviously did not, and they brought back Zeke Elliott.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
Who hasn't played, you know, I mean, it's in trouble.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
So they bring back Zeke who we knew was already done.
Anybody with two eyes could see that Zeke Elliott was
not the running back he was several years ago. They
brought him back. Anyway, this reminds me a lot of
my old boss, Al Davis. You know, for forty years,
from sixty three to two, the Raiders had the best
record in all of professional football, steered by Al Davis.
(55:48):
He was the general manager, who was the owner. Early
on he was the coach. I mean, the Raiders were
Al Davis. The last nine years of his life were
a disaster. They had nine straight losing sea and whatever
magic that he had had for all those years was gone.
Now I don't know if Jerry Jones ever had that
kind of magic. He had magic when he hired Jimmy
(56:10):
Johnson at the start of his ownership. That was a
great move, and then they had a falling out and
it's pretty much been downhill ever since. And you say, well,
wait a second. This team won, you know, all these
games the last three years, but it never translated into
postseason success. As the word Jerry Jones did to seriously
take a look in the mirror. Yeah, because it's hard
(56:32):
when you own a franchise and you're in charge of
a franchise. And by the way, I mentioned Jerry Jones
in the same breath as Al Davis because he was
an admirer of Al Davis. He liked the idea of
an owner also being the general manager, the guy calling
the shots, which mister Davis did. And what Jerry Jones
has done all these years, it's not working.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
No, it doesn't always work. You should be hiring professionals
to make these tough calls, or at least have advisors,
which I don't know. I think I've said to you
that I don't know if Jerry Jones really cares to win.
I think he's just real happy having the most valuable
franchise in the world.
Speaker 1 (57:08):
No, he wants to win, but on his terms that doesn't.
Speaker 3 (57:12):
Then that means he doesn't care to win.
Speaker 1 (57:13):
He wants to win where in the end he gets
the credit.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
Yes, then that means you don't really care to win.
I don't disagree with you, But in the grand pitture,
that means you don't really care if you want all
the credit when you're literally making the wrong you're not
making the right decisions year after year.
Speaker 1 (57:31):
Well, I know this, if this season goes the way
it probably will go with Dak Prescott out for the
rest of the year and they don't make the postseason
and Mike McCarthy is relieved of his job. Look, if
I'm if I'm a prime coaching candidate, I mean, this
is the Dallas Cowboys, right It's not like they're void
of talent. They don't have a lot of depth right now.
Then they're getting a little long of tooth at certain
(57:53):
positions and the injuries are piling up, but it's still
the Dallas Cowboys. Because if you take the job, the
spotlight is going to be very bright on you because
of the brand. Well, if I'm a you know, a
big time candidate for a job like this, you know
I can't just say all right, you know whatever you say,
(58:14):
mister Jones, I can't do that. So are you just
going to take a yes guy to take it, because
if you do that, then this team's not going anywhere.
They're just not going to get any better. They're going
to be in perpetual idle until Jerry breathes his last breath.
Speaker 2 (58:29):
I think if we do get a yes man, it
goes back to Jerry just wants things on his terms
and he doesn't care. Now, maybe in a year we're
talking about how Jerry Jones is no longer making the
decisions and that he's given the power to the coach.
Maybe we're talking about that in a year. But it is,
it starts with him. It starts with him, and I
just don't see it happening.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
Could you imagine Bill Belichick taking this job now? Belichick
obviously ran the entire show in New England, and after
Tom Brady left, he ran it right into oblivion. That's
what he did. And they're going to be suffering from
those last several years of Belichick for many years to
come as they try to piece this thing back together.
And again, he's in his seventies. I don't want to
(59:11):
put age on anything, but it just I mean, the
reality is, how long would he be in the job,
you know. So, I mean this is again Jerry Jones,
who is the Dallas Cowboys, needs to take a long
look in the mirror and try to do a little
self evaluation, like where am I? Where is this team?
What is going to be my legacy? Is my legacy
(59:33):
going to be those three Super Bowls who won thirty
years ago?
Speaker 3 (59:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (59:38):
Or is it going to be the last thirty years
where we never even made it to the conference championship
game legacy?
Speaker 3 (59:44):
Their legacy is?
Speaker 1 (59:48):
I think for most people, you're absolutely right. Look in
this day and age where I'm reminded all the time, right,
they're like, nobody cares about the past.
Speaker 3 (59:55):
They're trash right now.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
Nobody cares that, you think. And it's okay about Troy
Aikman and Michael Irvin and EMMITTT. Smith. No zero relevance zero,
that's what they tell me all the time. And they're right, Okay, Well,
this comes from a twenty one year old like Mary
Matt and I.
Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
Don't even know, and she doesn't like sports, and then
she knows and that's the whole point where it's like
she doesn't really care about sports, and she knows that
about the Cowboys So what I'm saying Jerry is like
I'm chill, like we're still You're still talking about me,
And I think he likes that you're talking about me.
Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
You want me on the radio, you want to I'm
breaking news.
Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
That's his own radio show.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
But when he's on the my fanily right, you know,
like he breaks.
Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
The news, it's all negative. Now, I mean, is very.
Speaker 3 (01:00:42):
That's what he is.
Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
And I don't know how you take that away.
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
You can't. You can't take that away. When you're in
that position. It is impossible to step away from that position.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Does he have kids? Do his kids?
Speaker 9 (01:00:56):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
His son Stephen has been, you know, like the de
facto general manager and has made some advice to his
father that actually had been sound advice. Maybe he should
just hand it over the Rooneys. Did this Art Rooney,
the original owner, handed to his sons Dan and then
our Junior, all these sons that he'd have, they're on
their third generation now of Rooney's running that organization. So well, wait,
(01:01:19):
how how old is Jerry Jones right now? He's pushing eighty?
Speaker 10 (01:01:23):
Yeah, okay, so I'll give it like ten more years
and more years.
Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
Oh great, hear that? Cowboys fans.
Speaker 10 (01:01:28):
Okay, I was being generous, but okay, like five.
Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
He's eighty.
Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
Jerry Jones is never gonna die.
Speaker 10 (01:01:34):
I feel like, you know what, I guess what you know, God,
God can't laugh too, but that dude is.
Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
Not going to Jerry's world. By the way, Jerry, I'm sorry,
Jerry is eighty two years. He's eighty two.
Speaker 10 (01:01:47):
Okay, so like five five, maybe a little bit less
than ten years. Then maybe maybe the cowboys, you know,
it goes on to his son. Maybe his son is
actually smart, and then you know, the cowboys can actually
look like something.
Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
Yeah. Well he's also worth thirteen billion dollars, so we
have that kind of money in the bank. Yes he's chilling,
he's chilling, and he's okay, but he has nothing else
and that may you know, so many of us always
talk about like, man, if I had that kind of money,
I would just go off to a deserted island and
just disappear.
Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
And you're like, he is on his on this island.
He doesn't want to disappear, but he is on his island.
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
If you had thirteen billion dollars in your bank account.
Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
I would still do the show with you.
Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
There you go you see that, Perrie. I know she's
making that up. I'll take it anyway. All right, let's
find out what is a trending right now and what
has been a day that had some blowouts early but
some upsets mixed in as well today Martin.
Speaker 8 (01:02:42):
Yeah, one of them not the University of Michigan, who seemingly,
you know, through eight games, still can't find a quarterback
and can throw the ball accurately over fifteen hours through
the year.
Speaker 1 (01:02:50):
All's good, all's going well.
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
I thought your team was going to get it. I
thought they were going to get the w Honestly.
Speaker 8 (01:02:55):
As soon as soon as like people are texting me like,
oh my god, how can you not call it time out?
With the minute in forty six seconds? Like our minute
fifteen seconds left. It's like, did you really think that
Michigan getting the ball back with twenty seconds was gonna win?
Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
Did you really? Why would you delay a funeral? All right?
Everyone's like, well, when's last time Michigan had a losing record?
I go, not that long ago. That was twenty twenty,
the COVID year. They were two and four.
Speaker 8 (01:03:16):
Yes, under Jim Harball, and then before that five and
seven under Rich Rodriguez in his first year twenty twelve.
Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Brady hook have a losing season.
Speaker 8 (01:03:25):
I think seven and five, seven and five, and then
the Sugar Bowl year may have been seven, maybe been
five and seven one of those years. Yeah, but before
that it had been a long time. Tell you this,
I just looked it up. Michigan hasn't lost to Indiana
saved Jim Harbaugh in twenty years. So that's great. Uh,
Indiana twenty they remained undefeated. Yes, Brady Hoaks.
Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
Last year at Michigan twenty fourteen, they were five and seven,
that's what it was.
Speaker 8 (01:03:47):
Yeah, So twenty to fifteen, Michigan now five and five,
the defending Big, defending national champions, three and four in
conference play. Indiana undefeated, the eighth oring team of the nation.
That'll be going up because we had the third ranked
team in the nation lose all miss beating Georgia twenty
eight to ten in a game that wasn't even close,
Georgia only kicking a field goal in the second half.
(01:04:09):
Ohio State beat Perdue forty five to nothing. That's the
two teams in the nation. The number four team also
lost today. Georgia Tech beat Miami twenty eight to twenty.
Here we go twenty three two hundred and seventy yards
rushing for Georgia Tech Texas pound to Florida forty nine
to nothing, and Iowa State loses to Kansas forty five
to thirty six. Iowa State was formerly seven and one.
(01:04:32):
Clemson wins fourteen to twenty. Colla lead twenty four to
fourteen over Virginia Tech Army fourteen to three over North Texas.
Games going on right now, Colorado trail thirteen to nothing
at the end of the first quarter. They now lead
thirty four to twenty at four minutes left in the
fourth quarter. There Maryland and Oregon just getting started, the
Terrapins with a three to nothing lead three three forty
(01:04:53):
left in.
Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
The first quarter.
Speaker 8 (01:04:54):
There Tennessee the seventh thring team in the nation. One
loss for them with a seven to nothing lead over
Mississippi State, who was winless in the SEC. And speaking
of winless and conference play, Notre Dame the tenth thirteen
in the nation taking.
Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
On Florida State.
Speaker 8 (01:05:06):
One and eight for the Seminoles after they just recently
barely missed a college football playoff last year in the NFL.
Tyreek Hill has a wrist injury. He's questionable for tomorrow, yes,
Monday's game. Actually, Jona and Jackson and Steve Velik are
going to be goes for the Rams. On that side
of that, Saint Swar receiver Chris lave is on injury
reserve after suffering another concussion. Adam Schefter reports Dak Prescott
(01:05:28):
will likely undergo season ending hamstring surgery. Austin Cyber Commander's
kicker ruled out for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh, and Zion
Williamson and definitely out due to a left hamstring.
Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
Injury, and Martin Wis's winning. At least that bet back
to you guys, Yeah, that was a sure bet. That
was a sure At some point Zion was going to
go down again unfortunately. All right, Mark, great stuff. Once again,
this is Fox Football Saturday. We're coming a live from
the tire rack dot Com studios. All right, once again,
it's that time time time looking for it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
Okay, well it is now time time.
Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
You know, I have a lot of stuff on this wall.
Speaker 5 (01:06:17):
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Well, first of all, the fact that we have even
these openings is sort of mind blowing to us. But yes, yes,
I know that Monty got back in the game. This Moncey,
you did get back in the.
Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
Game, right, she back, I don't even remember.
Speaker 4 (01:06:35):
Tell me, Moncey, you picked the Falcons. I did won
that one.
Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Steve you picked the Cowboys?
Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Well duh, yeah, but Steve.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
Did get the boat, did he did? No? I in
teas with that one that I got that.
Speaker 4 (01:06:51):
I'm actually surprised, like everybody else, like Kirk Cousins Dad,
no picks, no picks.
Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
I don't know why you have said it, but I
got it right to have mercy, I guess it happens.
Let's see.
Speaker 4 (01:07:02):
Also, Monsey, you did go three and oh so okay
straight up on.
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
That just we go.
Speaker 9 (01:07:08):
Two?
Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
But I got the bonus point. That did get that?
Speaker 4 (01:07:12):
You got the bills on the bills lost, but you
did or no bills once you got both of you there.
You did get the over on points, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
On fort nine and a half.
Speaker 7 (01:07:20):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
So where are we on total points now? All right?
Speaker 4 (01:07:23):
So total points? Monsey you're at eighteen. Steve you're at
twenty even though you won the week.
Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
Sure, sure, I got my two bonuses. Yeah wow, sorry,
that's still pretty good though.
Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
Bus Oh yeah, help, well I have now a fresh
slate for this week, everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
So we're gonna go with our first one, and I
love this one.
Speaker 4 (01:07:45):
It's the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the Washington Commanders. Commanders
are home and the over under is forty four and
a half. And uh, our fearless leader in the clubhouse,
mister Steve Hartman, We're gonna go with you for sir.
Speaker 1 (01:08:01):
Wow. You know earlier we talked to Adam Kaplan and
he just said, yeah, I expect the Steelers to win,
and I'm like you do on the road against the Commanders,
who have not lost a home game all season long.
I know the Commanders are a slight favorite in this game.
It smells of a lower scoring game totally to me.
(01:08:23):
Jayden Daniels has been phenomenal, but he hasn't played a
defense quite like the Steelers, so this is next level
of defense.
Speaker 3 (01:08:33):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
Thinking a winner in this game, it is hard until
I see this kid not get it done. I got
a roll with him. I'll take the Commanders at home,
all right.
Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
You know, so I have my notes for like every
matchup this week, and this one I actually didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
Have a winner in my notes. That's that I couldn't
it's a tough game.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Yeah, you know, you have like Pittsburgh, who has the
second rank scoring defense, but then you have Washington and
the third rank scoring offense going up against each other.
Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
I agree with what you said.
Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
I don't know if Jayden Daniels has seen this type
of pressure that's going to be coming at him from
the Steelers. Only two teams have scored on the Steelers
more than twenty points this season.
Speaker 3 (01:09:20):
They have really just done a good job.
Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
I think I'm not saying Russell Wilson is back, That's
what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:09:27):
But in the last two games, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
He's thrown for over two hundred and fifty yards in
both games, He's got three touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
Give me the Steelers on this run on the road
against the Commanders. I'll take the Steelers any.
Speaker 1 (01:09:44):
Over unders or any bobs.
Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
Never is already so low.
Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
Forty four and a half, right, Yeah, it is a
low number. See you think forty four and a half,
twenty four to twenty one, that's forty five. Yeah, but
twenty four to seventeen is forty one. It's right in
the middle. No, I can't touch it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
I don't I wish the number anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:10:06):
Then no, like like Canelo Alvare said, be Boulder, this
is just like, all right, I'm gonna I'm gonna have
a bold prediction.
Speaker 1 (01:10:18):
I will have a prediction that Justin Fields will attempt
at least one pass in this game. Russell Wilson's played
really well the last couple of weeks, but I think
Something's gonna happen where Wilson's got to come out and
Justin Fields will come in. But he's not just playing.
(01:10:38):
He will throw at least one pass in this game.
Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
You know what, I'll give it to you. I think
that's pretty bold because you would think Russell stays in
the whole game unless it's the disaster strikes which knock
on wood that doesn't happen.
Speaker 3 (01:10:52):
You know, fine, I'll give you a bold.
Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
Here, go for a Manzie.
Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
Jayden Daniels has actually only thrown two interceptions this season.
Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
Is I say he throws two against the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (01:11:03):
Wow, I'll take that. You know what, that's bold against
the good defense.
Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
I like that, I say he does that. Yeah, yeah,
I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
Steelers to win. That makes a lot of sense. Yeah,
let's sneak in another one here. Number two. We have
the new York Jets taking on.
Speaker 4 (01:11:20):
Arizona Cardinals, not too far off from where Steven in
Phoenix there. Yeah, forty three and a half points. Cardinals
are home, Monsey, take it away?
Speaker 1 (01:11:31):
What do we film?
Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
This is this other one where it's like, I'm not
the Cardinals. The Cardinals are doing so well the last
couple of games right now, they actually need to win
because now that the forty nine ers seem to be
gett Christian McCaffrey back, they definitely need this.
Speaker 3 (01:11:45):
They're at the top of the NFC West. I mean, I.
Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
Don't I don't like my answer, but I'm gonna take
the Jets.
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
Yo, don't like the answer.
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
I am uncomfortable, but I'm gonna take the Jets to
win this in Arizona.
Speaker 1 (01:12:11):
It's not a bad choice, believe me. I'm like you.
This is another fence.
Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
Game, rightence.
Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
Do I really think the Cardinals are a team ready
to rattle off a fourth straight win. I mean, they're
just they're They're a team. There's nothing overly special about
this Arizona Cardinals team. The question is can the Jets
follow up their Texans win and win two in a row. Yeah,
So what's a more likely scenario Cardinals four in a
row or Jets two in a row, and.
Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
It's like Jets defense, which was supposed to be the
bread and butter, has literally been so mid.
Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
But against the Texans, the Jets looked good.
Speaker 1 (01:12:55):
All right, Well, I'm gonna roll the dice on the Cardinals,
but I don't feel overly in this. I am like
literally rolling the dice on the Cardinals. I'm almost leaning Jets,
but because you took the Jets, I'm gonna roll with
the Cardinals and he over unders their balls.
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
No, I don't know what's gonna happen in this case.
Speaker 1 (01:13:18):
That is, you know what, You're picks enough on this one.
You're bold enough on either side to move on, and
we're doing on the other side. As we continue on
with one more game to pick for a big NFL Sunday,
This is Fox Football Saturday. Steve Harty, Montsi Blanos Here,
Fox Football Saturday. We're live from the tire rack dot
(01:13:39):
Com Studios. I want to thank our peerless supporting gas
martin jumping in as he does getting ready for his
own show, by the way, which is gonna go with
VJ coming up here shortly. Mary Mack, who she's very excited.
She's got a big trip going to the UK. You know,
(01:14:00):
it's so crazy. I just told Patrick I should have
never told Steve. He's gonna say it on the airs.
I'm gonna say it on the air.
Speaker 6 (01:14:06):
You are.
Speaker 1 (01:14:07):
I can't tell you anything. No, you should know that.
I don't know. I cannot keep a secret for the
life of me. I agree even saying it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
I wish I just about those I can't ask you
where you're going. You're not excited about it?
Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
I know I am.
Speaker 10 (01:14:20):
I'm going to the UK. Okay, so I'm leaving. I'm
going for New Year's Yeah, yeah, I'm really excited. I
wanna be there for like ten days. I'll be gone
for just one show, see, I said, And now she
is expanding on it.
Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
Absolutely, it's exciting, excited. Twenty years old and you get
to go there? You can't Why not?
Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
Can I go?
Speaker 1 (01:14:39):
Patrick? Are you going with her? I wish I never
been to Britain, but I'd love to. Yes, you guys
might come back engaged. I'm just.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
Ninety day fiance.
Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
Let's go, Well, we're like twelve day fiance.
Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
No, but they won't get you on the show where
you guys have the ninety days here to see if
you actually want to get engaged.
Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
Well, I've you know what, I won't even elaborate on air.
I'll tell you off air there.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
I have so many questions, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
So, by the way, when I was last in London,
put time perspective. Richard Nixon was president. That's the last
time you go. That's what that was the last time
I was in London, all right, So I just put
that in perspective. All right. So we have one more
game here, Patrick, Oh, we do have one more game.
Speaker 4 (01:15:31):
And well it's not in Great Britain, actually quite on
the contrary, it's it's back here.
Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
In fact, it's actually back in LA.
Speaker 4 (01:15:38):
It's the Dolphins taking on the Los Angeles Rams. Rams
are home, and it is forty eight and a half
point favorites. And between let's see Steve Ormonsey going first,
Aenie Meanie Miney Monsey, You're not going first. It's gonna
go Steve first. I want to throw you off, Steve Gofer.
Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
It it's your this interesting game because you know you
got a two and six Dolphin team, but they're obviously
different when two quarterback going against a Rams team that
has won three games in a row and very much
in the mix in the NFC West, And yet the
Rams are only two point favorites, which tells the odds
makers they're saying that on a neutral field, the Dolphins
would be favored in this game. M this is another team.
(01:16:22):
The Rams are very much like Arizona. In other words,
they've won three in a roll like Arizona. Are they
a team that's ready to win a fourth in a row?
Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
I believe in the Rams a little bit more just
because of maybe Sean McVay, and like, I know what
you're saying.
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
I okay, I am, I am. I'm gonna go against
my normal trend here because home teams on primetime games
are usually a good play. They went far more often
than they lose. But this Dolphins team, and Tyreek Hill
says he's gonna do everything to get on the field, right,
He's going out of his way. I know he's not
(01:17:00):
one hundred percent, but he only has one touchdown this year.
Does that seem impossible for a future Hall of Famer?
I think the Dolphins have a breakout game. I'm taking Miami.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Who So, if you told me Tyreek Hill is one
hundred percent playing, then I easy take the Dolphins. But
if he doesn't play, I actually wouldn't want to take
the Dolphins. I would want to take the Rams. But
if he plays, I think Miami has the offense to win.
Speaker 3 (01:17:26):
So I guess I'm assuming I mean not to be this.
Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
I want to Yeah, if Tyreek plays, it's the Dolphins,
and I guess that's what I'm going with.
Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
So I'm taking the Dolphins too, all right, take the Dolphins?
Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (01:17:37):
Why?
Speaker 1 (01:17:38):
Now here's the thing about the over under. If you
get it right, you get the extra point, but if
you get it wrong, you lose a point. That's true. Now,
you know, if you're making a bold prediction, it is
nothing to be lost, only to be gained. That's a
big number, forty eight and a half in this game. Wow, really,
(01:18:00):
I'm gonna say that, you know what, take a shot, Steve.
I'm gonna take a shot in this. I'm going under.
Oh he's going under, which is never a good play.
Every time I go under, I lose. But for some reason,
like twenty four to twenty one, that's an under, you.
Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
Know, I I hear you.
Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
I'm gonna roll the dice. I have a two point lead,
So I feel I got a little wiggle room here,
but I can come up big if it goes under.
So I'm going to take the under in this game.
Under what about any bold, Mancy? You got a bold one?
Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
I did not think you were going to give us
this game. So no, I don't have a I don't
have a bold for you.
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
I didn't think you were going to give us this game.
Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
And I just kind of was like, well if I
Tyrek plays, but I don't know if he's playing, so
I wasn't. No, I don't have a bold, and it's finny.
I was gonna say under as well. That's what I
was leaning so I hear why you picked that.
Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
I was with you. I'm with you on that one.
Speaker 1 (01:18:57):
So are you gonna pick that? No, it's a wash wash.
Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
No, no, no, you take that.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
I was just saying, like, in my that's that's where
I was leaning to as well.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
So I'm with you, I'm with you, but no, I
don't have it.
Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
I don't have a bowl for that, all right, So
there it is no bowl for this now, no bull.
Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
But we haven't walked in Monsei.
Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
Were you taking notes for like the vikings like Jaguars
expecting me to Can you want.
Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
Me to show you the notes?
Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
You'll get to that game and it'll say Tyreek question mark.
Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
That's all it says.
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
If you looked at my notes for the entire week,
that's all I put down for that game.
Speaker 1 (01:19:29):
It means I picked a great game because I keep
you on your toes.
Speaker 3 (01:19:33):
You do keep me on my toes.
Speaker 1 (01:19:36):
By the way, Colorado Guys has just defeated Texas Tech
forty one to twenty seven. They are now seven and
two on the season. Shooter Sanders two hundred and ninety
one yards passing three touchdowns. Travis Hunter absolutely in the
Heisman mix nine catches, ninety nine yards and a score
and also doing it on defense as well. So, oh,
(01:19:59):
very busy set Saturday. Get ready, I don't know, we
just got started here, all right, VJ and Martin are
getting ready to keep it right here. Much more coming up.
This is Fox Sports Radio
