Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to sports radio. All right, let's go, stinking genius.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Let's go, big boy, let's go, let's go.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
How are you. Let's dress week in with your dolphins
playing tomorrow at them.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Yeah, my knees a little swollen, so I'm playing hurt tonight.
My knees swollen, hurt my knee doing what you know? Yeah?
You ever see those gravity boots where you hang upside
down and do sit ups?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
I was doing. I was doing some sit ups.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I don't think I really hang upside down, do you?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Yeah, yeah, I'm hanging upside down and I do sit
ups and uh, you know, with the gravity boots, and
I tweaked my knee.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
A little bit, so it's swollen a little bit. I
don't believe you. I don't.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
I don't believe you either. So how did you hurt
your knee?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Maybe going to the kitchen to get something to eat?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
In fact, yeah, I say, I think the ladder might
be Why.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Do you lie?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
I didn't lie.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
It could have been gravity boots, right, that is a lie.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
You know?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Did that? I think Richard gear in American Jigglo did that.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
I think is Oh my gosh, we got to upgrade
and update these movie references.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Man, I've never.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Ever heard of that movie. That's so crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
Broadcast on live tonight from the tirack dot com studios.
Hierrack dot com will help you get there and unmatched
a selection, fast free shipping, free roadh hazard protection, and
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirack dot com the way
tire buying should be. Todd Furman will join us coming
up in how' two. We'll look at things from the
Vegas perspective. We've got boots on the ground in h

(01:32):
count Arnie, so we will speak to stars from the
winning team tonight and what has been a I don't know,
like less than stellar Monday night Sunday night football game.
It looks like it might be pretty good coming down
the stretch. Yes, de Fite throwing five interceptions. Jared Goff
has the Lions within three. I thought you would have

(01:54):
the record.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
What is the record for interceptions in a game in
the NFL, because lives gotta be close to it, if
not tied for that record. That's incredible that you could
throw five. And I'll tell you this, I don't think
that anybody's thrown five interceptions and won a game.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
So eight.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
There's interceptions by Jim Hardy in nineteen.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Fifty eight, that one. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
The most recent high number is Tie Detmer, who threw
seven in two thousand and one with the Lions.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Wow. Seven, Uh you put in the backup after that.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Well, See, as I was watching this tonight, I kept one.
It's twenty three to twenty. The Texans have the football
back with eleven thirty eight to go. They're on their
own thirty down up three twenty three twenty. I was
wondering that just in general. Listen, Jared Goff is the
starting quarterback for the Lions. We all get that, right,
of course, right, But I mean quarterbacks can be just

(02:55):
like a receiver to where if they keep dropping the
football right, you're gonna bring it a different receiver if
you're throwing five interceptions, And granted one of them was
a hail mary, so it's kind of BS. I don't know,
you think it ever crossed Dan Campbell's mind that, hey,
it might not just be his night. Let's see if
I think it's in a hooker. Let's see if hooker
can go. Let's see if a guy can go behind him. Yeah,

(03:16):
he was ever on the on the table.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
If you're JJ Reddick and Lebron's oh for nine and
there's five seconds left in the game and you're down too,
do you say to Lebron, it's just not your night.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
We're gonna keep you out the last five seconds.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
I don't think I compared Jared Goff to Lebron. James Arnie,
that's me.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Though, in a way, I think your equipment got mad
at you with that ridiculous comparison.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Is Jared go funny?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
It happened again.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
By the way it happens like at the same time
every night, It's just amazing. No, I don't think they
ever thought about taking out coffee. If it was a
marginal second string quarterback or something like that, perhaps, but
not not somebody like Jared Goff, and I would have
kept him in there.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Also, how long? I mean, what would be the number?

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Then?

Speaker 1 (03:59):
What if he threw two.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
More at which is right there on the cusp of
the record, be a number?

Speaker 3 (04:06):
No, if you threw two more, I would say, let's
just stop making eight. Let's get out there win this game.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Okay. I don't know what job they still have a
chance to win.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
It's wild that they still have a chance to win
with as bad as he's been here tonight. But yeah,
the NFL record for most in a game was Jim
Hardy with eight. Ty Detmer, Steve de Bergh, Kenny Stabler,
Tommy Wade, and Zeke brett Kowski each have seven in
a game. So he is, uh. I guess you could

(04:35):
say he is safe for now unless he is unless
this thing, like I don't know, goes to overtime or
something and the next thing, you know, he's got a
chance to throw a few more. You know, I gotta
be honest with you. You know you've been very critical
of one CJ.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Stroud.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Yeah, and he's been pretty good here tonight, but he
hasn't been able to take advantage of opportunities to really
make this game more seve p rated than it is.
You know, he threw two interceptions, including what one of
the end zone, And I don't know, I'm not in
many means trying to downgrade CJ.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Stroud, but I'm shocked that.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
This is a three point game right now, because as
poorly as the Lions have played and as many opportunities
as the Texans have had Onnie, this should be like
thirty to thirteen thirty seven right to ten or something.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Right now, the Texans haven't been able to take advantage
of it.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Well, it's not only this guy, but I think it's
the last three games for CJ.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Stroud.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
He's just not looked like the normal CJ. Stroud that
we've saw from last year. It's not even close. But
I got to give him a break. I mean, his
wide receivers have been injury. He didn't get Nico Collins back.
That makes all the difference in the world. I mean,
this guy is his number one receiver. He was the
number one perhaps the number one receiver or top three
receiver in the NFL. He's when it comes to the yardage,

(05:54):
I think I'm going strictly by stats here.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
I'm sorry, I'm laughing at the play that just took
place where CJ. Stroud ended up in the arms of
his own offensive linemen and then the ball came fun
going out some way the Texans land. The Lions are
gonna win the damp football game, aren't they. Oh my gosh,
that was a terrible a timpt at a block. That

(06:17):
left tackle should be banned from ever blocking anyone in
the history of the NFL again. Oh my gosh, did
he not have this snap count or something? Texas laying
on the football, they'll punt it away. Fourth sack tonight
for the Lions.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Yeah, so I even forgot I thought what I was
saying there, Chris. But it doesn't doesn't matter right now.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
We were talking about your your frustration with c J.
Stroud and someeah the inconsistent performances.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah he I mean, like I said, it was the
last three games. He's had a lot of injuries. So
I'm willing to cut him a little bit of a
break until everybody gets back, at least till he gets
Nico Collins back, who wasn't active for this game.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
And we'll see if he's able to get back next week. Well,
as we come to you tonight from the Tirack dot
com studios, we will have eyes on the finish of
this game.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
But Arnie, let's hit Roman numeral one. What do we
learned today?

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Man?

Speaker 4 (07:09):
It was it was a weird day, I think the
National Football League. It starts with, of course, the Early
Morning Special, and it ended up being a game winning
walk off field goal in an ugly game. Sorry Germany,
I'm sorry for those of you that are listening in Munich.
Not all our teams are like this. In the National
Football League, we have better product. I mean, yeah, we

(07:30):
have better games, but you have the walk off field
goal and then, I don't know, Arnie, just weird games.
How were the Saints suddenly beating the Falcons right?

Speaker 3 (07:39):
That was a little bit crazy. I didn't see that
happening like that, that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
How did the Patriots suddenly look more offensively capable than
the Bears? Who look at eppt right now? Yeah, I
got you think Caleb's a bust. But I think my
bigger question today falls on three teams. Let's start first,
What in the world what do you do if you're
Jerry right now? You're not gonna make him move? He
made it very clear. I think we learned that they're

(08:05):
not going to make a coaching change in season. But Arnie,
owen for at Home, now owen Ford home. This year
for the Cowboys, they got smoked in a game that
they were never in against the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I gets here.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
I see it in Jerry's face, I hear it in
his voice. For a guy, and I was one of
the originals down there at that station. I know what
he's got to be going through right now, and he's
beside himself. They'll wave the white flag for this year.
It's done. Dak's not going to come back. They'll go with.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Trey Lance, the quarterback whisper. They'll go with him. They'll
see he won't ingenius.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
What's your record in college games?

Speaker 3 (08:44):
He won't make a difference, Chris For the Cowboys, they'll
have to start over again with a healthy Dack next year.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
But and we'll probably get to this later.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
I've got a question how far Dak's really going to
take this team and the money that he's got committed
to Dak, Sir Lee Hamsterring some of the other positions.
But they're not in a good place right now.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
It's it's it's it is horrible for the Cowboy fans.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Yeah, I saw your Roman numeral number four. We'll get
to that coming up a little bit later on. Arnie's
got a list of ten players and our coaches and
projecting what could happen next year.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
I keep I keep waiting.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Remember how they with Derek Carr's contract and Russell Wilson's contract,
Right suddenly you found it. Well, if they don't get
hurt or if this doesn't happen, then they can avoid
the contract, right and like, oh well, they bitched Russell
Wilson in Denver. Josh McDaniels did the same thing with
Derek Carr in Vegas and they both ended up moving
on the following season. I keep waiting to find out

(09:42):
if there's some poisoned pill in that Dak Prescott deal.
Right well, you know, if he doesn't play an ex
percent of the games, A voids the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I know there's not no, there can't be, not with
a hitm holding out the way he did or no.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
No, But we'll get to all that coming up here
in just a bit. Here here's my second thing, and
free to take this what am I talking about? You'll
always take the show any direction you want. But here's
the second thing they kind of shot out to me
today speaking of individual teams, all you Aaron Rodgers haters,
Colin Coward, you guys can take your victory lap. I
guess this is O V ER with Jets. What a

(10:19):
failed experiment you you.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
I think you're just a dollar short there. Forget about
it's over career wise. It could be O V E R.
I would if I'm Aaron Rodgers, and I know you
don't want to go out like this. I may have
to look long and hard if I want to come
back to a situation. I mean, there's gonna be a
lot of people going with the Jets. They got a
lot of free agents, a lot of people that had
one year contracts. Maybe that's a good thing, it's a

(10:42):
bad thing. I don't know how they could rebuild it.
And it's such a short amount of time. It's not
like that division is a juggernaut, or at least it
won't be a juggernaut next year.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
But I have to look.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
You know, you got all that money. You know, he's
the kind of guy. To me, it feels like he
would quit.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
A year early than a year late.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
So I, especially coming back from that injury, I look
along and hard on what I want to.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Do next year.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
By the way, update from Sunday Night football. The Lions
are just pouring it on right now. They are running
the football right down the Texans throats. And with seven
straight up seven minutes to go in the game, what
are they in or knocking on the door of the Reds.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
I'll look at Piney sewel Oh my goodness.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Textbook, Can you give the ball to David Montgomery please.
I understand this is working with Jamir Gibbs, but some
of us have fantasy situations we're worried about. Gibbs takes
it down to the twenty five yard line, so they
are knocking right on the door of the red zone
Detroit Trails at twenty three to twenty. Jared Goff has
thrown five interceptions in this game, and they're still in

(11:47):
position to where they can win the football game, which
is just wiow.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
All right, you know, quick house. I want to say,
and one thing I.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Didn't put into the Roman numeral Roman numerals. Remember what
I said, I already can tell you about the division winners,
and like what six of the eight divisions. It kind
of looks like I was right, because we already have
uh six teams in the playoffs in the AFC, and
only room for one more team. I mean, already we

(12:14):
know that we got six teams. We know one through six.
My change though, order a little bit, and there's only
room for one more team and that's number seven and
it could be the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Maybe there's four divisions, right, you picked the Chiefs and that's.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Really the only one you had, right you sure about that?
You did not pick the Bills because you picked the Dolphins.
You did not well, I said, the Bills will win,
but the Dolphins would be a wild card, didn't I?

Speaker 3 (12:45):
No, you and I had the and I had the
Ravens winning. So the Ravens are probably gonna technically.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
The Steelers or leaders in that division right now, right.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
And I said, I said the Texans, and the Texans
are winning.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Congratulations, thank you.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
But the playoff race, My whole point about the whole
thing is it's not gonna be much of a playoff race.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
When there's only looking about for for like the wild card,
I guess is what I'm talking about. The Broncos have
the seventh seed at five and.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Five, only one spot. You know the Chargers will get in,
But are you.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Sure about that?

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I mean, we've seen the Chargers in this position before.
I know it's hardball, but they're sitting there six and three.
You're actually those things.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
O V E. R oh. Oh, Yeah, it pretty much is. Yeah,
it pretty much is.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
With a five and five football team in the seventh spot,
it's over.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
This is the no with the Chargers. With the Chargers
with the Chargers.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Okay, all right, six and three Chargers right now, have
you taken the time to look at their upcoming schedule?

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Uh? Sure, I'll pull it up right now. If you're off,
you go ahead, yeah, do it. I want you to
do this live on the air.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Okay, they got the Bengals coming up, so that's gonna
be a win.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
That's that's all the game, is it? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Yeah, of course, yeah, yeah, of course, okay, go on.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Then they got the Ravens at Atlanta at Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Could be a little tough two game stretch there, and.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Then hold On holds top milkon a little tough two
games stretch.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
All right, Yeah, a little tough two games stretch, the.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
Ravens at the Falcons, at the Chiefs, home for the Buccaneers,
and then home for the Broncos who just nearly beat
the Chiefs today, and.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Then they finished with two wins. Definitely. All right. So
at the Patriots and not the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Well, I don't know if they're gonna be the Raiders
because they can't sweep them in a season, so you're
you're crowning them whenever they're getting into a five game
stretch of their schedule that is going to.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Be a challenge.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
How many wins do they have this year over teams
with a winning record, Arnie, that's a good point, none,
not a one. They have a win over the Broncos,
who's a five hundred football team. But so it's guaranteed,
right it's over. They're going to the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
And that's why they pay me the big dollars, Chris,
because I know this stuff right.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
One other team that I wanted to keep a kind
of bring up here and what we learned today when
the Chiefs keep finding a way and they always play
I couldn't believe against the Broncos. Two games versus the
Broncos last year, they had one touchdown offensively and scored
twenty eight points. It's their fourth walk off win of
the year. And listen, I don't know if the inevitable

(15:24):
bottom is gonna fall out because they're just not good
offensively until they get more receivers healthy, or until DeAndre
Hopkins gets more matriculated in the offense, which you look
fine last week. I don't know, but by god, Arnie,
I don't. If I'm a Chiefs fan, I don't care
because they keep finding a way to win.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
They just they are the adage it better be lucky.
You're better off to be lucky than good. They're both.
They're lucky and they're good.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
I couldn't believe it if I said to myself.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Here it is. It's a chip shot. They're gonna win this, father,
We're gonna end this.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Kansas City bs out there if anything, that guy could miss.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
It, but it's not gonna get blocked. Nothing stupid like that.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
I mean, hu you, especially when it's like from thirty
five yards out. I mean, I can kick it, not
while it get blocked. Sure enough, it gets blocked, the game,
game over. I don't know how it's happening, especially because
they're not dominating the offense. Looks maybe pedestrian for at
least Kansas City value. I just don't know how they
keep pulling it out like that. No way they should

(16:25):
have allowed this to get blocked. That's embarrassing.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
When we come back to the tire rack dot Com Studios,
we'll hit some of Arnie's takeaways from week ten. We
got a lot to get to it from college football
over the weekend, plus keeping you up to date on
this wild Sunday night football game that is now tied
at twenty three with five oh one to go in
the game. It's Arnting Plank on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (16:49):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to

Speaker 4 (17:00):
All right, it's already in Plank on a Fox Sports Sundays.
This your request for music tonight.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Not my request.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
No, I was just feeling a song.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
I feel it, not complaining. Uh.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
You can find us on Twitter slash x. That's at
Stinking Genius one at Plank show. Everyone should follow us
at Fox Sports Radio. You want to hit a couple
of these tweets real quick?

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Or did you geah? We're getting a lot early, Yeah
for sure. Yes.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
Did you have anything you wanted to add that really
kind of caught your eye from week ten today? Because
all you put in the Roman numeral rundown was week
ten reactions, but you didn't really put any Well.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
I got to tell you, if I'm a Bears fan,
I'm frustrated as hell with your Hall of Famer quarterback
Caleb Williams and that offense out there. It's starting to
get embarrassing. There you see, they're the worst offense in
the end, their worst.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Didn't care how I watched the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
I said, just something that people already questioned, because this
guy to be a flop.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
I you know, I know he's like you started it
the moment he was drafted. So when you say, people, Arnie,
you're talking about yourself. And let's see here, who is this?
This is oh FanDuel? Who is engagement farming? Which is
all these sites do for the gambling pages, Go look

(18:22):
Action FanDuel, draft King whatever. It's always like, what do
you think is this guy gonna be a star or not?
It's literally the same thing. So I listen, I hear
I haven't played well, but I don't. Are the Bears
giving him the best shot right now? With what they're doing?

Speaker 3 (18:37):
We thought before the year they did and made some
positive moves.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
I asked situation for number one overall? Pick how many
times did we hear that?

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Rightly, there's no doubt I think he was in a
better situation. Obviously.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
I think he was in a better situation before what
you cut out.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Before the start of the year than Daniel's sketches. But
obviously I was wrong about that, or at least Daniels
ha just you know, was past expectations.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Yeah, I think Jane Daniels says exceeded expectations. I completely
understand frustration, but by no means am I ready to
tap out?

Speaker 2 (19:14):
No?

Speaker 3 (19:15):
No, am, I understand that, but yeah, the frustration they
it was like the last twenty two drives or something
they had not scored a touchdown. That like that, that
can't happen. You've got to do something. You got to
start doing trick plays. I don't care what you gotta do,
do something, but you can't have that.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
At Devil Will never hit us up on Twitter moments
ago and said, there you go. The kiss of death
has spoken. The Broncos and Chargers are now officially eliminated
from playoff contention. Why'd you do that, Arnie Bake writes,
Is this Sunday night football game super long?

Speaker 7 (19:49):
Or what?

Speaker 4 (19:51):
I guess if you give them enough plays, the Lions
can get back in at parody above all, Well, there's
a minute fifty six left in the game. The text
lining up a fifty eight yarder in a twenty three
twenty three tie to try to push ahead, and it
is wide left.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
No good.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Did that have a distance too?

Speaker 2 (20:12):
I think it did. It was just his way left,
didn't have a chance.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
So great field position for the Lions to potentially win
this game with a minute fifty one left, and somehow,
some way we're tied at twenty three.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
And Bake added to this, it feels like there's been
ten minutes left in the third quarter of Sunday Night
Football for like a day.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
I agree, I agree.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
Overnight, Joe writes, Hey, Arnie, hanging upside down?

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Is that truly how you hurt your knee?

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Just like that and start doing these sit ups like that?
That's almost impossible. I wouldn't be able to do a
sit up if if you guys were pushing.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Up my back and tried to help me up, I
wouldn't be able to do that.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
Okay, all right, Josh right, what's Jerry going to do?

Speaker 4 (21:00):
Nothing, continue with the stadium, tours, up his net worth
and party up with excuses saying he can't afford them,
same old, same old, thirty years in counting.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
I'm not so sure about that.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
I think he's so frustrated he may go back and
you could hear it in his answers, and obviously he's not.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Getting any younger. Chris.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Let's let's be honest. He may just say, you know what,
let's do it. Let's go all in one year. Let's
get ourselves a running back. Let's you know, shure up
the offensive line. Let's get himself, you know, a big
time running back that could do something. Maybe add something
at the wide receiver, give more weapons. But we got
to add something. We can't go like this for next

(21:46):
year too, and punt on this year.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
You can't. You can't have back to back years like this.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Not at all.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
And then Dante with the very easy conversation to Divons.
He writes, talk about the Jets, what a great question,
or at least a great statement, Arnie.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
You make a coaching move, doesn't work. Make a coordinator
move doesn't work. You go get Devontae Adams. Doesn't work.
The only thing that helped the Jets was the Texans
playing like crap.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Shape the Jets of the Cowboys?

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Can I can I say I want to look at
their salary cap situation before I get too in depth
in that, because naturally I want to say the Cowboys, right, But.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
No, it's the Jets. With an older quarterback. At least
you got Dak Prescott, who I assume is better.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Than Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Right, I mean that's your that's your You're saying no questions,
so then you obviously think Dak is better than Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Yes, I died think Aaron Rodgers' career is done. Nel
he'll go down and be he was like Tom Brady
after the last Super Bowl in Tampa.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
When we look at the updated Tankathon list, that is
really taking a lot of my time. Currently with the
number one picking the draft, Arnie would be the Jacksonville
Jaguars again.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Are they like the number one pick overall? Every single year?
Every year they get the number one pick.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
Followed by the Giants, the Titans, the Browns.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
And the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Now your your Dolphins are right there at two and
six as well, But like you said, you don't care
about quarterback conversations, so you'll probably fall to two and
seven and the like.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Take a lineman.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Number one overall when you get up there, or a
running back is that what you need?

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (23:29):
By a deep safe yeah, something like that. You know,
I like the meat and potato guys. What you already
have a losing tomorrow against the Rams. Are you already
have that pencil then?

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Of course? Right?

Speaker 4 (23:39):
Yeah, Rams though aren't necessarily all that great. They're only
five hundred football teams.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Yeah, but then again, that's because they've had injuries to
their wide receivers and uh and and Pooka still continues
to be hurt.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
So it's gonna have to be all Cooper Cup. Is
Tyreek Hill playing questionable? Last I heard?

Speaker 3 (23:55):
I don't even know if we had a hand injury,
and I don't know if he's going to be activated
for the game tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
I'm not good.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
All right, Well, when we come back to the tyrack
dot com studios, we'll start hitting some of the postgame audio.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Again, we're tied at why do you need me to
tell you? Steve?

Speaker 4 (24:09):
The seger is in to get you caught up on
Sunday night football. What's going on, Steve?

Speaker 8 (24:12):
But Pukainakua did at least come back from the knee
injury for the last game. It's just throwing a punch
meant that he was on the side. But the Monday
night game the Rams host Miami and Tyreek Hill is
essentially a game time decision. NFL Network said with the
wrist injury. Apparently it's been a pre existing injury and
he recently reaggravated it, but did not practice Friday, did

(24:34):
not practice Saturday. It's not like he didn't make the
flight or anything, so we'll just sell tomorrow night. Meanwhile,
we have this game. We're Detroit winners of six straight.
We're trailing at the half at Houston twenty three to seven.
It is now twenty three to twenty three with a
minute and a half to go. Houston just missed a
fifty eight yard field goal attempt wide left after a
high snap. Kayimi Fairbairn had been three for three on

(24:57):
field goals. The kicker for Detroit this year, a Baits
Spring League hero, had hit a fifty eight yarder to
tie this game with about five minutes to go. So
after the recent Texans missfield goal that means Detroit takes
over near midfield. They converted a third and six on
a pass to Amen Ross Saint Brown. Meanwhile, the Texans
have burned all their timeouts on defense. Detroit has a

(25:20):
chance to win it with a long field goal. At
the moment one minute to go, they are down at
the thirty five of Houston game tied and in another
down or two will get an answer. But Jared Goff
with two touchdown passes five interceptions in this game. AP says,
in Lions history, they did actually win a game while
throwing five interceptions, but that was back in nineteen fifty

(25:43):
three with two different quarterbacks. Ryan Fitzpatrick has tweeted out, no,
don't do it.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Don't do it.

Speaker 8 (25:50):
Apparently he's the last guy to throw six interceptions in ANFL.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Games Optember sixteen with the Jets.

Speaker 8 (25:58):
He threw, in fact, picks on five straight possessions that game.
When the Chargers first moved to LA, I watched the
Bills Nathan Peterman throw five interceptions in a first half
of that game.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
I saw it.

Speaker 8 (26:15):
I could actually testify in Chargers history they had a
Monday night game in the eighties when Dan Fouts was
unavailable and so Ed Luthor was the quarterback and threw
six interceptions and they lost a close game against Joe
Thaisman and Washington. When the John Riggins there. You mentioned
the Chargers of this year six and three after beating Tennessee. Today,

(26:36):
at the moment, the playoff bracket would have the Chargers
at Pittsburgh in the first round of the playoffs. Pittsburgh
is the only team to even score twenty points against
the Chargers so far this year. And we're at week ten.
It is such a night and day difference with Harbaugh
here and the culture change and Brandon Staley not running

(26:57):
the defense, and the Chargers game today at a three
game homestand first time in years they've had three straight
weekends with home games. And what did we talk about
last Sunday Night show, the ability to flex out a
Jets game. It's not gonna be the Jets Colts next
Sunday night, It's the Chargers. Chargers hosting Cincinnati is now
a Sunday night game next weekend, so one of us
may not be here. Oh, no, four seconds to go,

(27:20):
it is Detroit tied at Houston twenty three to twenty three.
A fifty two yard field goal to win for Detroit.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
No way, he makes this.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
It's good.

Speaker 8 (27:29):
Jake Paints does it again. He hits from fifty eight
with five minutes to go. He hits from fifty two
on the final play.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Of the night.

Speaker 8 (27:38):
What a comeback. And the Lions have won seven games
in a row, eight and one on the season, twenty
six twenty three the final at Houston on a night
where the Texans Joe Mixon had twenty five carries for
forty six yards rushing des Saga.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Did you see that thing? Hug the left upright and.

Speaker 8 (28:00):
The one of the fifty eight hug the right upright.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 8 (28:04):
Detroit wins twenty six twenty three on a night Jared
Goff throws five interceptions. My goodness. Philadelphia won its fifth
straight game thirty four to six at Dallas. Arizona won
its fourth straight game, thirty one six over the Jets.
The Charger win was twenty seven to seventeen against Tennessee,
Kansas City's nine to zero after edging Denver sixteen fourteen,

(28:27):
Chiefs blocked to thirty five yard field goal attempt on
the final play. Buffalo won its fifth straight game thirty
to twenty at Indianapolis. San Francisco won on a forty
four yard field goal on the final play at Tampa
Bay twenty three to twenty. Pittsburgh won its fourth straight
twenty eight to twenty seven at Washington X Charger and
Jet Mike Williams with the game winning touchdown reception with

(28:49):
about two and a half minutes left wins for Minnesota
and New England on the road. New Orleans won at
home and in Munich. Carolina in overtime beat the Giants
twenty to seventeen. Carolina playing its way out of the
number one pick you just talked about. That's two whole
wins in a row for the Panthers. They're up to
three and seven.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
In the late game.

Speaker 8 (29:07):
In the NBA, the Lakers are at home and leading
ninety three eighty five over Toronto. Early fourth quarter, Anthony
Davis has left with an eye injury. Sacramento won in overtime.
The Kings won at Phoenix, overtime win for Philly over Charlotte.
Golden State won at Oklahoma City chet Holmgren OKC left
with a hip injury after a fall, and at Denver
triple double for Nicola Jokich. They edged Dallas one twenty

(29:30):
two to one twenty the game tonight, the Lions win
again twenty six twenty three in a comeback at Houston victim.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
Yeah, it's unbelievable. I cannot I cannot believe this. Now,
you know we're going to play at the start of
next hour. Whose season ended today and who saved their season.
I don't think it.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Eight and one.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
We have to worry about the Lions saving their season
with a comeback win, aren't They're they're.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
In great shape.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
But do we say that all this talk about the
Texans being super Bowl contenders and hey, look at with
this young and up and coming defense and offense. I
get it, they're dinged up, they're beat up. But can
they start missing us with that? With the way these
last two weeks have gone, I'm not.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Ready to get off their bail wagon. Like I said,
too many injuries there, and I think their division makes
it a little bit easier for them than if they
were obviously a lot of harder division. You know, you
just said something that obviously it doesn't mean that Detroit,
you know, save their season.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
They're going to the far anyway.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
They may have saved their chance to go to the
super Bowl. Remember this was for they want to be
that number one seed. They want to get that buy.
You know, I think that's so unfair, but we played
by the rules here. They're fighting it out with Philadelphia for.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
That number one see soda.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Yeah, Ed Minnesota too, You're right about that. So this
was a big win to stay one game ahead of them.
They got to have that number one seed and play
home games. And I know it's a way to start
looking at that, but I mean that's you know, coming
down the road.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
When you when you win like this on the road,
that was a big win.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Sometimes you're reminded that it is a week two week league, right, Yeah, yeah,
you scores like Washington losing to Pittsburgh. Though Pittsburgh's a
really good football team.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
But yeah, I was thinking come back and bite you. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
Yeah, the Vikings being in a tight game today. Suddenly
the the NFC South, you know, the best team of
that division might be four and six right now. And
oh look you here, who's in first place in the
NFC West. It's the Arizona Cardinals. It just it makes
no sense based on everything we thought heading into the season.
I wanted to hit a couple of tweets here before
we grabbed a timeout, and then that caught up in

(31:43):
some of the postgame audio.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Uh, because of death is on fire tonight.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
The heel Aaron Rodgers Jets regime is a failure. It's
even more embarrassing than Brett Farv's Jets run.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Wow. And that was and that was pretty embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
Like I said there, I was reading online where they
have a lot of people leaving. They had one year contracts.
They're gonna have to make wholesale changes. They do have
a lot of dead weight. They have a quarterback who's aging.
I don't know how they repair something like this. Chris
mean neither great great point, great point because of death.
Scott writes, Jerry will go get a big time running back.

(32:19):
Derrick Henry was begging to come to Dallas, and Jerry said,
now we're bringing back Zeke. How that worked out for him?
And then caud He's right, they will bring in somebody.
They're not gonna stay pad this time.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Oh, they'll They'll bring in someone past their prime.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Absolutely, and then Colin writes, so the Bears say they're
going to consider changes after the offense, sputters, So does
this mean they're gonna go from a four to three
defense to a three to four defense?

Speaker 7 (32:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (32:48):
They You know, we're firing coordinators like crazy, not just
in the NFL, but in college football too. I mean,
it took getting to one and nine before Florida State
made changes yesterday. But obviously I've been in the middle
of one of them. Sooners and the Raiders made a change,
and the Jets have made a change. I mean, Saints
made a changed this last week. Where I get it right,
Jerry's not gonna make a change. But when you look around,

(33:11):
and the Bears probably aren't going to make a change,
right Colin.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
But when you look around.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
You know, it is kind of interesting to see that
the Saints get a little bit of a bump. I
know that the Jets had one good game. I don't
know if long term it's worth it, but I wonder
if Jerry and the Bears are going to consider maybe
repositioning some guys right.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
No, well that may but I'll tell you one thing.
I'll tell you if if I was Jerry Jones, I
know who I would get is my running back, and
we watched him play tonight.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
Chris and maybe Gibbs. He may be available if they
want to make Montcovery the starter. You certainly can't have
both of them. I would certainly not pick up the
telephone and say, hey, would you be interested moving him?
I didn't think Detroit would may make that move.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
To be honest, you think Detroit would trade the running
back that they drafted in the first round in twenty
twenty three to the Dallas Cowboys. After he's had a
near thousand yard season last year and is on the
cusp of another historic season.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
You think the Lions would trade him?

Speaker 3 (34:17):
You, well, first of all, he has to be frustrated
because the carries have gone to Montgomery. I don't know
if they're equal or Montgomery certainly.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Why wouldn't they say, you don't that the carries have
gone to Montgomery? It seems that way.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Well, it does seem that way, at least the games
I've watched. It seems like Montgomery's gotten more carries than him.
I don't have the yards.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Look that up.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Let me know if I'm wrong on that.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
But if he's the number one pick, he should get
the majorities of them, and right now it's split it worse.
I'd be frustrated to fob him. And if you're Detroit,
you love Montgomery so much, why would you keep both
when you go ahead and you know, get some different
parts because it's not nineteen eighty four because team has
two good running.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Backs, aren't he?

Speaker 4 (34:58):
I mean, just stop, Jamir Gibbs isn't getting traded to
the Cowboys?

Speaker 2 (35:02):
All right?

Speaker 4 (35:03):
When we come back to the tirack dot com studios.
Let's hit some of the postgame audio and we'll hear
hopefully from a member of the Detroit Lions after they
come from out of nowhere to beat the Houston Texans
tonight and Sunday night football.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
It's aren't even plank on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (35:19):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
What a thrilling come from behind win tonight for the Lions. Well,
hold on, let me rephrase that. There really wasn't anything
like thrilling about it. Yeah, they just basically decided we're
gonna stop letting jaredy Golf throw the football and ran
it right down the Texan's throat. I gotta look at
the play by play. Do you remember seeing him throw
many passes late in that game?

Speaker 2 (35:53):
I don't know. I wouldn't pay it.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
We were on the air, so once I would really
look at at that, I'll get killed on about my
running back take also.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
Well, I don't I don't know why if you would
have said, hey, maybe David Montgomery to the Cowboys that
would make sense to go get the guy they traded
up in the draft for just the.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
I never thought they would trade DeAndre Swift. I liked
him when he was with Detroit, but obviously it's not
the same thing.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
He didn't have quite the artist the other guy.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
He had a couple of issues too, whenever he was
with the with the Lions.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Okay, I didn't know that.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
We talked about them, so, I mean, but he'd been
deemed up. He had a couple of issues, and they
got David Montgomery. They they hadn't drafted Jamar Gibbs by
the time or before they traded him. But yeah, anyway,
I just it was a bad take.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
But again, I'm here to support you.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
So whatever you need from me, I'm here to help
you and protect you from things like Eric riding. What
is Arnie's bac Lions could trade Gibbs. They traded up
to draft gig Grit Gibbs. They will trade Gibbs the
day the Dolphins win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
It ain't happening.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Wow, stop drinking, Arnie. Well, just why is if Gibbs
is so great, why he has Montgomery have more carries
than Gibbs.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Do you know how many more carries he has seven? Right,
what are we even doing here? I mean, this is
that's all I got left on me. Grizz will try
and try.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
I don't know why you would ever think about going
down that road, But here we are now we before
the break brought up a couple of things from the
embarrassing Bears game. Now I'm just I'm gonna play these
two cuts and then I don't know if we'll talk
about the Bears again tonight. And I don't know, does
Jonas do that thing where he just talks about his
team on kew Bro's and a couple of jokes like

(37:45):
most of us do, like you do with the Dolphins,
and like Jason Smith does with the Jets. I mean,
is it a Bears fest every morning? But even if
it's not, here's what Matt Eberfleu said about if he's
going to change his play calling, look at everything.

Speaker 9 (37:59):
I think it's from everything from the from the top
to the bottom, and making sure that we're finding the
answers to move the ball on the field, you know,
play better as a football team on offense, defense, and
special teams.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
That's okay, Well, a lot of info on that didn't he.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
We're gonna start from the top down. Why haven't you
been doing that?

Speaker 2 (38:17):
So we're gonna try to get Pat or Chris. We're
gonna try to do that. Okay.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
There was an incident, now I know Mark Willard and
he from.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
Salompson a lot of time talking about this involving Deebo
Samuel afterwards, and he went after the kicker and then
Taber Pepper. The best long snapper was the one eight
long snapper in the NFL, James Winchester, number one, number.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
One, Arnie.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
But I Deebo went after the kicker, and when he did,
Taber came up as the long snapper and stood up
for his kicker. Here's what Kyle Shanahan had to say
about the incident.

Speaker 10 (38:51):
I don't have much of a take because I didn't
see any of it, so I just got told about it.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
But probably an obvious one.

Speaker 10 (38:56):
Guy's frustrated and something probably happened and the brothers scuffle
a little that I didn't see any of us. I
don't know how bad it was, but something I'm not
too worried about. We'll fix it. It hasn't been fixed already.
We'll fix on the plane and we'll go back to
loving each other tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
That's pretty good. Meanwhile, you never get the plane online.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Yeah he was on a line.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
Who was out of blind? You think, okay on a line. Yeah,
here's the Niners long snapper Tabor Pepper, here's telling.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Them to lock in. And we know what our job
is and we got us.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
You know, it's it's hard.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
To being a specialist and sometimes it's feature famine.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
And as a young developing specialist like Jake, is the
best like mental.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Exercise you can have.

Speaker 8 (39:34):
You know, I don't know how much better it gets
to missing three straight and kinding to step up and hit.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
An almost fifty yard game winner.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Super paja there you there you go. I didn't really
think we needed to go all that in depth on it.
But anytime you get a good sideline scrum on you, oh,
it's always good.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
At any time it involves the kicker, I think, uh,
I think we gotta go with it. Speaking of kickers,
it's the first road win after trailing by sixteen points
for the Lions since twenty sixteen.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Wow, I'm on Saint.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
Brown has this seventh straight game with a receiving touchdown
that breaks a tie with three other players for the
longest streak in Lions history, and Troy found a way
to get it done. Tonight, We'll head back to Houston
here from the Lions when we come back, plus Todd
Furman right around the corner on Fox Sports Radio. It's

(40:28):
our two come to you live from the tire rack
dot com studios.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Tire rack dot com.

Speaker 4 (40:33):

Do you want to do a little Twitter here? You
want to dive into your Roman numeral number four? You
want to dive into Roman numeral eleven?

Speaker 3 (40:55):
We could do all that. Just can I give you
one thing? Could I just give you one nonsports thing
real quick? But before we start, I'm just my wife's
a lunatic.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
I just want you to know that she's she's absolutely
she's lost her marbles. Okay, you know she she's the
one that doesn't like I don't want to eat this
because it's got disident in red dye number tick good
for you? And glass of fiend or whatever it's called
and they got this, and it's got dissident, it's got
Ali did a restaurant called Anything Fried. It doesn't bother me. Sure.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Today she was looking through some receipts with gloves on
because she said that the receipts had something on them
that's toxic to your to your skin, and she didn't
want to touch it.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Wow. Yeah, she's a lunatic. I've told you. I don't
know what happened to her.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
I mean, that's like a COVID thing, right.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
Oh no, she died, not a COVID. She just she goes.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
She thinks it's like part of this whole. This is
bad for you, and that's bad for you. I go,
what is wrong with you? Be the handling receipts for
sixty years now, all of a sudden, you don't want
to talk.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
It's too late now, geez. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:04):
Well, I I think she's just like looking out for
you more than anything else. Hey, do it at least
for herself so she can be in good shape, you know,
whenever she moves on from you.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
Oh yeah, she totally thinks she's gonna outlive me for
a long time. So she's already planning life when I'm.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
Not around you kidding me.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
My wife's doing that and we still have kids, so
I mean live in the house with us, so well,
I mean she's just looking out for you, Arnie. I mean,
does she listen to Alex Jones you have tinfoil hats
laying around or anything like that.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
I don't know what she listens to. A lot of podcasts. Probably, yeah,
that's the thing, the whole podcast and this is bad
for you, and don't eat this food and don't eat
that food, and uh well look look she could have
lost a few pounds anyway, So I'm not I'm not
gonna Oh.

Speaker 4 (42:46):
My gosh, all right, let's move on, get kicked out
of your house. Did I mention that we come to
you from the direct dot com studios? Uh, tomorrow night
we're gonna have quit college football. Note tomorrow night we're
gonna have a shakeup. I guess it's not quite tomorrow.
It is on the East Coast Tuesday night, we're gonna
have a shake up in the college football playoff rankings
because the number three team lost, so what are you gonna.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
Do with them?

Speaker 4 (43:10):
Meanwhile, a team that was outside the rankings in Old
Miss and a team that was probably a little lower
in Alabama one. And oh yeah, by the way, it
wasn't just Georgia that lost, it was also your number
four team. So, Arnie, tomorrow night, Tuesday night, you think
Georgia and Miami are both still in the top twelve.

Speaker 3 (43:36):
I think Georgia is. I'm not ready to think that
they're going to be eliminated. Shouldnt Miami still be in
there too, because remember, now, this is a big thing
for them there they're probably gonna run the table U
they don't have.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
I think a lot of tough games left.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
Well, I didn't think Georgia Tech was gonna be a
tough game left.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
No, you're I mean, you're you're right about that. I'm
not so sure Miami's gonna be in it, but I
think george is gonna be.

Speaker 4 (44:02):
I'm not talking about by the end of the season.
I just mean, I just mean Tuesday night, whenever the
rankings come.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
Out, I think Georgia will be and Miami's right there
on the cusp.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
You think I would be wrong on that?

Speaker 4 (44:14):
No, No, I think I think Miami is still going
to be in there. But I'll tell you what, I
think it'd be really cool because miamily has Wake Forest
and Syracuse left. Now, I don't know how the tie
breakers work because SMU is undefeated and they're probably gonna
finish ACC play undefeated. And then you have Miami and
Clemson who could both finish with one loss and they

(44:35):
didn't play.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Each other this year. Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
So I don't.

Speaker 4 (44:40):
I don't know that tie breaker will look like to
see who ends up getting in the ACC championship game.

Speaker 2 (44:47):
But yeah, I don't.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
I'm kind of with you.

Speaker 4 (44:49):
I'm real interested to see what they do with Miami
because I think SMU, now that they're just sitting there
undefeated in conference play, they're lost to b Why you
looks better and better every single week. I think b
YU is gonna move up a couple of spots. I
think Alabama should be a big riser tomorrow night, along.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
With ole Miss.

Speaker 4 (45:11):
But yeah, I think what do you do with Miami
and if Georgia is still a playoff team are the
two biggest questions I have tomorrow night.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
You know what's amazing for all the talk about how
great the SEC is, very possible out of the top
five teams for them are big ten teams with Oregon
Ohio State, Penn State, Indiana, Right.

Speaker 4 (45:32):
Absolutely, absolutely, I mean, as it stands right now, if
how I think it's gonna look tomorrow night, I think
there's a really good chance for the top six teams
are gonna be big ten teams. And I think all
four of them are getting in. Barring an upset, I
think all four are getting in. So it's gonna be.
It's gonna be tomorrow Tuesday night. Is gonna be fascinating

(45:55):
to see how a loss like George's in Miami is viewed,
and then to see if it's something that elevates an SMU.
I'll tell you what I think Boise might drop tomorrow night. Arnie,
I was not overly impressive against Nevada. Now they would
still be in the playoffs right as the highest ranked
group of five team. But dude, and you get Ohio
State at Indiana this week, and man we finally Indiana's

(46:18):
went over Michigan.

Speaker 1 (46:18):
I thought was a gutty win. They were good.

Speaker 4 (46:21):
Now you turn around and you play Ohio State, Let's
see what the Hoosiers are all about.

Speaker 3 (46:24):
It does make you question Indiana. They could have lost
that game very easily.

Speaker 2 (46:28):
Sure, absolutely, And.

Speaker 3 (46:30):
You're thinking well, you know, they were a fourteen and
a half point favorite, Chris, so you thought it was
going to be not an easy game for them, but
they were gonna finally flix their muscles from getting beaten
all these years, and it just didn't happen.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
They could have easily lost that game.

Speaker 8 (46:42):
I would add, guys. So for college football, Indiana at
ten and oh, for what it's worth, is up to
number five in the new AP College Football poll. But
it's the next playoff ranking Tuesday that matters for AP.
Georgia fell to number eleven and Miami's now right at
number twelve, and the legendary Jerry Palms as Miami would
win a tiebreaker against Clemson due to a better record

(47:04):
against common conference opponents, the difference being the Kynes have
beaten Louisville and Clemson did not. Oh okay, here's the tiebreaker.
There's your tie break, So Georgia.

Speaker 3 (47:15):
So I was right, Georgia's in and Miami was just
barely getting hanging on there.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
We'll see.

Speaker 8 (47:20):
But the committee, that's the AP voters. By the way,
Ole Miss up to number ten in today's pool.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
I gotta tell you something, they look good.

Speaker 4 (47:28):
I I was shocked how much the college football playoff rankings.

Speaker 2 (47:36):
Mirror the A people. I was shocked.

Speaker 8 (47:38):
It's as if the people at the committee maybe needed
a nudge or a help or a starter, you know,
like some people do in the kitchen. But the final
playoff bracket will be announced in less than a month,
December the eighth. For those who are why are we
talking about this, It's a twelve team playoff field now.
The five highest rank conference champions get the automatic bids

(47:59):
and the top four get the first round by so
there will be first round playoff games. You mentioned Boise
State maybe on the road for a playoff game at
a campus site. Those first round games are before Christmas.

Speaker 1 (48:11):
Twenty six, twenty three. Tonight, we'll get more college football.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
In a bit. The Lions rally to beat the Texans.
We're pumped to be joints. Speaking of the ACC The
Pride of North Carolina State A Lee McNeil joins us
after a big night for that Lion's defense, Alin, thanks
for taking time to join us.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
On Fox Sports Radio Chris Plank with Arnie.

Speaker 4 (48:27):
Spanier, Congrats with the win, never a doubt right, Take
me through the belief on the sideline and how you
guys never tapped out in this game tonight.

Speaker 7 (48:35):
Yeah, absolutely, from first and foremot that I appreciate you
having me on. I appreciate Yeah, man, well you know
it was.

Speaker 11 (48:42):
It was no magic formula two on the song line.
We knew that we touched out of the back. Get
back to the basically, make sure we're a detail football tea.
We're out there and playing for each other, hold each
other account of play. Nothing that.

Speaker 7 (48:53):
There was no special sauceer not.

Speaker 11 (48:55):
We just knew what type of a football game we
needed to play, what Brandon football we needed to play.

Speaker 7 (48:59):
That's just what we came up and ended up doing it.

Speaker 3 (49:01):
No yelling at halftime, no screaming, no figure pointing, none
of that good stuff.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
Nothing like that.

Speaker 7 (49:08):
I want time you're breaking out just a little.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
No screaming or yelling at halftime, no finger pointing or
anything like that.

Speaker 11 (49:15):
Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, none of that.

Speaker 7 (49:17):
We never really do that.

Speaker 11 (49:18):
Actually, no matter who we're down to, we always just
make sure that we know that we had there's always
a chance to get back in the game, because you know,
you kind of when you do stuff like that, kind
of almost demoralizing the team a little bit. Coach Campbell
came in here and he gave us some straightforward message.
We knew a time it was and we just got
to it. We went out there first album was got

(49:39):
immediately too it, so we just knew we had to
set a new tone for a game.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
Aleen, big night for you.

Speaker 4 (49:45):
You get the sack uh season high six tackles, five
of those solo. Did you feel like the interior would
have an opportunity to make this much of an impact
tonight whenever you guys were getting ready for the Texans.

Speaker 11 (49:58):
Yeah, we're always planning, prepare to make that impact every week.
But yeah, for sure, we definitely planned it, prepared to
do this and envisioned it and everything throughout the week.
You know everything you came to Ferrishard for us and
ultimately come out with the W. But yeah, we always plan,
prepared and envision this always.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
Do you feel like you're right now? You guys are
the best team in the NFL?

Speaker 7 (50:24):
You said, do I feel like it? Yeah? Maybe that's
what the people say, but we do I ever feel
like that. We'll talk about that.

Speaker 11 (50:32):
Yeah, that's a huge honor. You know it doesn't go unnoticed,
but you know, nothing's done until It's done a world
that halfway through this season. So I'd rather be the
number one team at the end of the year than halfway.

Speaker 4 (50:42):
This team just is so fun, it's so resilient. You
guys are a blast to watch. One final thought from me, though,
lean when you see your quarterback struggling, you've been a
leader everywhere you've been, do you say anything? Do you
just know he's gonna work it out? It kind of
take me through that process and what this team is like.
When you see a guy having moments like Aared Golf
had early in this.

Speaker 7 (51:01):
Game, yeah, I mean, I mean it happened sometimes.

Speaker 11 (51:04):
You know, that's just a game of football. They wouldn't
be that game. It wouldn't be that entertaining, it wouldn't
be this support as it is for something, you know,
So that's just part of the game.

Speaker 7 (51:14):
I'm not worried about that at all.

Speaker 11 (51:15):
Jared and Jared and he's an elite quarterback in the
elite mine on the field.

Speaker 7 (51:19):
I know he's gonna come back and do exactly what
he needs to do.

Speaker 11 (51:21):
So we played a good defense and now he played
a good team. And you know they watched film and
there in the NFL as well, so you know, things
like that happen. But yeah, I mean, you know, I'm
not worried about that. It's not even nothing you have
to say to Jared. You already know he's coming back
next week on fire. So yeah, yeah, you know, I'm
not even worried about that.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
That's great, man, Ian, great job.

Speaker 4 (51:40):
Congrats on the sack tonight, great performance and the comeback win.
It was a blast to watch. Appreciate your time. Hope
we get to talk again soon.

Speaker 7 (51:47):
Man, Yeah, absolutely, I appreciate you'all. I'm gonna start grace.

Speaker 4 (51:51):
North Carolina state product got a new contract extension this
offseason and made a huge impact tonight. Six tackles, five
of those solos had a sack. Alee McNeil, I was awesome.
Good get pilot SWEEKA and shout out to our stringer
who was on the grounds in Houston making that possible
for us tonight. And thank you to Detroit Lions and

(52:11):
their their crew over at the Sports Information Media Relations
to make that a reality for us.

Speaker 3 (52:17):
I was hoping he was gonna say, oh yeah, coach
was just grilling us at half time, man, oh man,
we were dropping the f bobs and oh it's ugly.

Speaker 2 (52:25):
Hoping he was gonna give us someuff like that.

Speaker 1 (52:27):
You know, yeah, you know that's the dream, right.

Speaker 4 (52:30):
Well, you know when we went into halftime, co trip
to shirt Off started talking about biting knee caps and
it was on I thought.

Speaker 2 (52:38):
Would I have to be obviously you're the best team
in the NFL. I was.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
I thought he was gonna see something like dog, what
do you think after what you saw tonight? But he
was very humble about it, you know what I mean.
He was very down to earth about the whole thing.

Speaker 4 (52:49):
I want in those moments. You want them to be
less humble. It's like, no, tell us you're the best.
Give us the give us the audio gram, baby, give us,
give us all the clicks. Thanks Thanks Patrick, good job.
Ally McNeil, defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions. Hey our

Speaker 1 (53:38):
All right, it's.

Speaker 4 (53:38):
Already in plank from the Tirack dot Com studios. We're
pumped to be joined by Todd Furman as he does
most Sunday nights with us here on Fox Sports Radio. Todd,
we just finished watching the Lions and the Texans lines
are eight and one for the first time since nineteen
fifty four, and that was about as improbable as it gets.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
What'd you make of that tonight?

Speaker 12 (53:57):
I think it's a bigger endictment of where the Houston
Texans are right now. Unfortunately, offensively, we all thought that
Nico Collins was going to be back in the lineup
for tonight. He gets activated from ir on Friday and
has made in active. And you saw Houston really struggle
to move the football in the second half once the
Lions clamped down. Not often in the NFL that you
can win a game when your quarterback throws five interceptions,

(54:18):
But kudos to Detroit for continuing to find ways. And
I think it's scary for the rest of the league.
If they're able to get to Darius Smith into the fold,
give them a pass rusher because that young secondary is
starting to mature before a very ice we.

Speaker 2 (54:32):
Oh overall, though, how tell me overall? How did the
books do?

Speaker 12 (54:37):
When you look at some of the results. A pretty
good day for the House, at least I'm led to
believe from speaking to them. They weren't thrilled with the
Philadelphia Eagles boat racing the Dallas Cowboys in that late
afternoon time slot, and of course the Chargers winning and covering.
But you look at some of the outright upsets that
you saw earlier in the day, New England upsetting the
Chicago Bears. You get Tampa home as a live underdog.

Speaker 7 (54:57):
They would have.

Speaker 12 (54:58):
Loved Denver to win outright against Kansas idiot they were
able to convert that thirty five yard field goal would
have blown up a lot of parlays and money line tickets.
But Atlanta one of the bigger public sides as well
as a road favorite. The only rough decision for the House,
at least early on in the day was Buffalo getting
outside the number as a four to four and a
half point favorite.

Speaker 7 (55:16):
Todd.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
I got ahead of myself.

Speaker 4 (55:17):
I want to jump to college real quick, which, by
the way, I got ahead of myself on Saturday night too.
Oh my gosh, we'll not talk about the misery and Missouri.

Speaker 12 (55:25):
Hey, Chris, Chris is someone who had Oklahoma plus two
before that number was minus oh I thought it was
a four to two at its bounced to be able
to get the defense's score. And if you told me
that Oklahoma's defense had to keep Drew Pine from driving
seventy plus yards to get that time score, I would
have signed, sealed and delivered it to you, and probably
wish I had four or five X on it.

Speaker 4 (55:45):
And they were I don't know what happened, but I
got ahead of myself. Last segment, I was talking about
Ohio State and Indiana. We're a couple weeks away from that.
Ohio State's got Northwestern. This weekend, you saw the first
playoff rankings. Indiana probably didn't get, in some people's eyes,
the respect they deserved.

Speaker 1 (56:01):
But what are we going to do this weekend?

Speaker 4 (56:03):
With Miami losing, with Georgia losing, oh miss is going
to be back in this, Alabama's going to be back
in this.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
What happens in the second playoff rankings.

Speaker 12 (56:12):
You know what I'm looking at some of the numbers here.
I think Indiana, if they finished this season eleven and one,
which is extremely probable if they were to lose in
Columbus and take care of Purdue in the Old Oak
and Bucket game, they've done enough resume wise to get
in the problem is, when you go through what Indiana
has done on the field, they've at least dominated inferior foes.
Penn State's going to be very similar. With a resume composite.

(56:33):
You can't find the marquee wins though for either of
these programs because the Big Ten is so top heavy
and neither one of them or I should say Indiana
will have played Ohio State and SOLI Penn State, but
they could both potentially have a loss there with neither
of them having played Oregon. I think the scenario we're
looking at right now is that the Big twelve is
more or less going to be a one big league,
although BYU going eleven and one or maybe even twelve

(56:55):
and one if they lost in the conference championship with
a win over SMU would put together a compelling red
the acc Now for me with Miami losing after they've
been flirting with disaster for weeks, trying to snatch victory
from the jaws of defeat as a one bid league,
and as far as the SEC credits Old miss two
very winnable games on the horizon for them against Florida
Mississippi State, I think ten and two with their resume

(57:16):
will be good enough to get them in. Georgia is
going to need to do a little bit of work,
including dispatching Tennessee this week, which I won't quite say
is elimination game but may feel very close to that.
And then when you begin to look at what Alabama's done,
the big win over LSU sent LSU packing going to
be fascinating to see how all of this plays out,
but I think it's starting to take shape. The bigger
scenario that I want to see is that if Boise

(57:37):
State were to go twelve and one and be a
Mountain West champion with their only loss coming by three
points on the road in Eugene against the Ducks, would
they have a legitimate case to be a team in
that by range as a four seed instead of a
Big twelve champion. If it were to BYU Somewhere along.

Speaker 3 (57:53):
Those lines, Todd, talk to me about some value out there.
If Indiana can go be in that top four, get
themselves a and you're gonna give me thirty to one
for them to win the championship.

Speaker 2 (58:03):
That seems like good value to me.

Speaker 12 (58:05):
Well, I think if you're talking about Indiana getting in
there at thirty to one on, you'll actually get a
better payday betting Indiana on the money line from here
on out through the remainder of the regular season. When
you look at what that number projects to be for
the trip to Columbus, there'll be more than a touchdown
underdog in that spot. And then if you figure that
they would play Oregon on a neutral field in the
conference championship game, you would see a big numbers there.

(58:25):
Although what's interesting and something that we've never had a
factor in there potentially be legitimate home field advantage for
Indiana playing in Indianapolis for an Indiana fan base that
is in star for a relevant football program. So some
interesting numbers that are there. I think a lot of
folks try to make the case for old Myths being
a little bit of a dark horse at thirty five
to one to win the National title before their game
against Georgia. That number now gets sliced down to ten

(58:49):
to one, but the Rebel is still plenty of work
in front of them. If you look at what a
money line parlay slash rollover would pay, there are a
number of unique ways to attack these playoff numbers if
you can try and properly forecast what the playoffs seating
will be and what some of the matchups will be
beginning with that five to twelve round, and of course
you know one through eight we gets the second round

(59:09):
as well.

Speaker 4 (59:09):
Tight As a Raiders fan, I'm spending a lot of
time on this website called Tankathon, and as it stands
right now, the Raiders are two and seven and would
have the fifth pick in the draft.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
Tennessee looks terrible. Giants look terrible.

Speaker 4 (59:23):
Are we going to see some teams try to, you know,
maybe actively tank over the next few weeks or do
you think in the NFL it's going to be too
hard to do that.

Speaker 12 (59:31):
I mean, look, if you're telling me these teams aren't
actively tanking already, I'm a little bit concerned about the
products that they're.

Speaker 2 (59:36):
Putting out on.

Speaker 12 (59:37):
When you go through some of these teams right now
that have two wins racing towards the bottom. I think
if you're the Jaguars, you're not rushing Trevor Lawrence back
at this point, and we'll see how many games they
could win with Mac Jones. Tennessee has shown some fight,
but they clearly don't, at least in my opinion, think
that Will Levis is going to be the face of
their franchise. The Raiders no doubt, would love to get
a quarterback that Giants. The list goes on and on

(59:58):
for what some of these teams are doing, and I
think it makes for a fascinating market. When you look
before the season, everybody had the Patriots and Panthers penciled
in as the teams that we're going to finish with
the worst record. Much of your sagarn Chris, I made
a case that the Raiders could be that team at
twenty two to one. Wouldn't mind if I was able
to get to the window there. But the good thing
for both of you, gentlemen, we're almost through all of

(01:00:19):
NFL Week ten, and neither of your favorite NFL franchises
have lost a game yet this weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:00:24):
That's for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
Todd, do you start betting against the Dolphins and the Cowboys,
like you said, those people that I'm pretty much giving
up on the year, or will the line be adjusted
for something like that.

Speaker 12 (01:00:35):
You're going to start to see these numbers get to
be a little bit price prohibited because it's going to
get so difficult to bet against the dregs of the
league now from a money line standpoint, I'm sure folks
are going to tie them into moneyline parlays and books
are going to find themselves needing one of these teams
to pull off an outright upset from here until the
close of the regular season. But unless you see some
of that quit in these bad teams, it's hard to

(01:00:57):
go blindly to the window. I'd honestly be more concerned
about the Chicago Bears and what I've seen from them
in the last two weeks then I would a team
like the Carolina Panthers that just doesn't have talent but
is still out there fighting. And the scene could be
said for the Giants. I was probably as discouraged by
what I saw from Chicago today as the Jets. That
Mic go down is the most disappointing effort of Sunday
given what was at stake for them and how they

(01:01:19):
seem to get their season back from the brink with
that win on Halloween against the Texans.

Speaker 4 (01:01:23):
Hey, Todd Furman, you find them Be's Board podcast on
Twitter at Todd Furman. A couple of quick ones here
before letting get out. Are you are you back on
the Niners bus?

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
Here?

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Are we believing in the Cardinals out west?

Speaker 7 (01:01:36):
You know what?

Speaker 12 (01:01:36):
I think the Niners still have a lot of questions
that they have to answer. When I go through what
I saw from them today, It's an offense that looks
out of sync, but they'll be able to rectify some
of those issues. I do have some concerns defensively, and
I think the Rams have a good test tomorrow against
the Dolphins if Miami has anything left in the tank.
The Cardinals deserve a world of credit for how they're playing,
beating up on teams and doing so indominant fashion. And

(01:01:58):
I wouldn't rule out the Seahawks US yet. I think
next Sunday's game between the forty nine Ers and Seahawks
are going to be extremely fascinating. If the Seahawks can
get some of their key cogs healthy along that offensive
line and hek Metcalf back in the fold.

Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
And Todd by the way, anybody coming in on the
Tyson Jake ballfight.

Speaker 12 (01:02:13):
You know what, most books out here, Arnie haven't hung
numbers on it, but I'm sure it will be a
big draw on Friday Night. It's just one of those
novelty things and they have to go through some of
the different channels as far as getting the commission to
be able to hang those prices.

Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
Is it going to be legit?

Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
You think? Is it going to be legit?

Speaker 12 (01:02:29):
I mean, it's a one hundred million dollar question that
I'm not sure I necessarily believe in being legit. But
we know Arnie will find a way to pony up
his fake million dollars yet.

Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
Yeah, well, I'll tell you you want to couple, I'll
give you a two winners coming up this week. Arizona
pounds Wisconsin on the road. Will beat them like a drum.
They have no business even playing us. And then we'll
go ahead do the same thing to the Duke when
we play them on the I think on Sundays. So
we should easily beat those two teams, that's for sure.

Speaker 12 (01:02:57):
You know, I like the bluster and bravado, but I
think Arnie, you haven't mentioned how your Wildcats will perform
on Friday night against the Houston Cougar, So I applaud
you for leaving that out. As Arizona racing towards the
bottom of the Big.

Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
Twelve ou ouch.

Speaker 4 (01:03:10):
Yeah that that that meaningless league Guardye that you're going.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
To dominatestball team will make up for that.

Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
Yeah, surely, well, have a great week, buddy. We always
appreciate your time and insight.

Speaker 12 (01:03:20):
They always a pleasure, gentlemen, enjoy the game this coming week.

Speaker 4 (01:03:22):
Thanks to the great Todd Furman. Every Sunday night here
on Fox Sports Radio, and we give the little given
go here and our buddy Steve de Sager to get
us caught up on everything which is now a final.

Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Right, everything, He's a final.

Speaker 8 (01:03:33):
Everything is a final. Lakers took the late game over Toronto.
Anthony Davis of LA left with an eye injury, and
we had a thriller of a comeback win for the
Detroit Lions at Houston twenty six twenty three. Might I say,
as a side note, with the new kickoff rules, yeah
it's true you're not getting the forty to fifty yard
sprints and blowing people up like before, which is what

(01:03:54):
the NFL wanted to kind of take that out of
the game. But an amazing amount of head coaches are saying,
we don't care if the other team starts to drive
at the thirty. We're just gonna boot it away and
not get a run back and not risk the runback tonight.
Eleven kickoffs, eleven touchbacks in this game, so it feels
like we've made no progress since the Super Bowl last year. Actually,

(01:04:16):
a team like Miami, who we're going to see tomorrow night,
they're in the middle of the pack in the league.
It's about two thirds wind up touchbacks. But their opponent
tomorrow night, they're playing at the Rams by far the
greatest percentage of touchbacks of any team this year. Ninety
five percent of their kickoffs wind up touch backs. So
something to look for tomorrow night. From La Detroit with

(01:04:37):
the comeback win, I said, they were down twenty three
to seven at the half at Houston and beat him
twenty six to twenty three on a fifty two yard
field goal on the final play. Houston had just missed
a fifty eight yard er with about two minutes to go.
Also key in this game, and of course completely forgotten
because it was in the first half, about five minutes
to go till halftime. Houston had a chance to extend

(01:04:58):
its lead. Had first down at the Detroit eleven yard
line and went nowhere. Joe Mixon on first down, who
did not have a great night, no gain, Then a
couple of incompletions, Houston settled for a short field goal. Yes,
they later got a touchdown before halftime. It was twenty
three to seven at the break. Could have been more.
Jared Goff in a game where he throws two touchdowns

(01:05:19):
and five interceptions, gets the w Fox Sports NFL Twitter
says since nineteen ninety one, only two other quarterbacks had
thrown five picks in a game and still won the game.
Matt Ryan in twenty twelve, Tony Romo in two thousand
and seven. So now these Lions, they've won seven in
a row, they're eight and one overall, they're undefeated on

(01:05:40):
the road, five and zero this year. By the way,
that when's the last time the Lions won eight straight
in the same season. It was nineteen thirty four, So
we are really getting in rare air between last year
and this year in Detroit's lines history, and we can
update the stat It seems like every Sunday night we
mentioned how many close games there are in the NFL,
on this one from Houston the Detroit comeback. That means

(01:06:03):
here in Week ten this weekend in the NFL, eight
games have been decided by six points or less, including
four they got the game winning points in the last
two minutes of regulation or overtime. And in fact, for
the season, it's now seventy three games decided by six
points or less, including tonight. That is a record through

(01:06:25):
Week ten in the history of the NFL. Philadelphia won
its fifth straight, winning at Dallas thirty four to six.
Arizona won its fourth straight thirty one six over the Jets.
Chargers beat Tennessee twenty seven to seventeen. Buffalo won its
fifth in a row Pittsburgh with a late TD one.
It's fourth straight. San Francisco won on a field goal
in the final play at Tampa Bay twenty three to twenty.

(01:06:46):
Kansas City sixteen to fourteen over Denver as the chief
block to thirty five yard field goal attempt on the
final play casey Is nine to oh wins for New England, Minnesota,
and New Orleans and Carolina beat the Giants in overtime
in twenty to seventeen. The Giants have lost five in
a row. They're two and eight. Panthers have won two
straights are up to three and seven Tyrone Tracy and

(01:07:08):
the loss eighteen carries hundred three yards, one touchdown, one fumble.
Friday Night on Fox TV College football UCLA at Washington
and on FS one Friday, Arizona host Houston Wildcaday Night
against the Counters. Saturday, Utah at number twenty Colorado. That's
the new Eastern time kickoff on Fox, and then after

(01:07:28):
that it's Nebraska USC And you mentioned the firings that
have been going on pro and college with coordinators. Florida
State fired both coordinators today and the wide receivers coach.
The Seminoles are one and nine. It wasn't that long
ago they were thirteen and zero in winning the ACC
Just for the record, but this year Florida State averaging
thirteen points a game, dead last in the nation while

(01:07:50):
allowing thirty points a game. NASCAR season titled to Joey
Logano back to you, thanks, Steve.

Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
Yeah, I don't even know what to say about NASCAR
today except that Joey Logano did it again? Were you
all tuned in today to Phoenix Arnie for today?

Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
That's my fault.

Speaker 4 (01:08:10):
I almost mishappy happy happy for Joey Logano fans.

Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
All right, you wanted a few tweets here, Yeah, we
got a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
Say one note, Jake Bates of the Lions is the
first kicker in NFL history to have a fifty five
or more yard game tying field goal. I think the
SEGA mentioned this earlier. And a fifty yard or more
game winning field goal in the fourth quarter of a
single game. Oh, history history tonight never would have guessed

(01:08:37):
they would have been in this position and we were
talking college football. I don't know if he's considered still
the Heisman favorite. I think he's going to New York.
But Ashton genty Boise stayed running back twenty three touchdowns
this season. Twenty three rushing touchdowns are the most by
any FBS player through nine games since Ricky Williams in

(01:09:00):
nineteen ninety eight twenty five Raky Williams won a Heisman
that year.

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
So did you like any of the values that we
were in college football?

Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
Did you like Indiana thirty to one? I thought that
was that was pretty good. If they're gonna be to.

Speaker 4 (01:09:12):
Four thirty to one to make the to win it all, right,
to win it all?

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
Yeah, to win it all?

Speaker 4 (01:09:17):
Yeah, Yeah, I think that'd be a heck of a value.
I think that'd be great value. Absolutely. Do I think
they're gonna win it all? No, But I mean maybe
they could end up getting to them. I think they
could easily get to the championship game. Artie, we're in
a situation where Indiana could be a top four seat.
We're in a position where Indiana could be the number

(01:09:39):
one ranked team going.

Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
Into the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Think about I don't think it's gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
But they've got uh, I say they've got I was
just on their schedule that the Ohio State game that's
looming in two weeks, right, So that's that's obviously the
most important game.

Speaker 1 (01:09:56):
If they win that, they're going to the Big Ten
championship game.

Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
So here's what they have.

Speaker 4 (01:10:01):
They have Ohio State in two weeks and then they
wrap up with Purdue, who stinks.

Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
If they win those two.

Speaker 4 (01:10:07):
Games and go beat Oregon in the Big Ten Championship game,
they're the number one overall seed in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
Yeah, Yeah, that's why I thought thirty and Penn State
at twenty to one. Eh, No, you don't like.

Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
Otherwise all the way the way might get a whole
playoff game though, the loud home playoff game.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
Maybe Alabama eight or nine to one, but that's about it.
I'm not too crazy about everybody else going to that Alabama.

Speaker 4 (01:10:29):
You know, Alabama's coming to Norman in two weeks. Not
looking forward to that. But that's that's That was one
heck of a win for them on Saturday night, wasn't it.
They smoke LSU absolutely smoked him. All right, Let's see
what you guys want to talk about at Stink and
Genius one at Plank Show, everybody on x go, follow
us at Fox Sports Radio, Eric Wright. See, guys, we
don't need the first few weeks of the college football

(01:10:52):
playoff rankings. Just wait until the week before Thanksgiving. Do
you do you think we try to push them out
too early? I think it's too late. I would like
to see it around week eight or nine. Maybe, yeah, seven,
I thought it was a little bit too late.

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
I could have done it about a week or two
earlier and get people pumped up about it more involved.
This is not a good week that the schedule is
not all that great. To be honest with you, but yeah,
I would have preferred it about a week or two earlier.

Speaker 4 (01:11:18):
Let me see here, let me see if I can
push back on you. You're saying the schedule is not
all that great in college football.

Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
No, it's not all that great. This weekend yous at Colorado?
That's fun.

Speaker 4 (01:11:29):
The l Shoes at Florida, you get the voted. Well see,
I like matchups like this. You need it to be
a ranked team and undefeated to be happy about it.
So never mind, moving on. This one is from Big
Greg and Iowa. He's worried about you, he writes, Plank,
you may have a new co host. If Arnie's wife
were to hear the beginning of hour two, he's the

(01:11:49):
beginning of this segment, beginning of hour two.

Speaker 1 (01:11:51):
Yeah, you make sure she doesn't hear these, right.

Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
She doesn't listen to the show. She doesn't even know
what I do for a living anymore earlier. To be honest,
that's good.

Speaker 4 (01:11:57):
Sounds like the voice papers need to be due to
print aphobia.

Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
But what is she worried about?

Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
Oh idea, we've been on a college football kick Cameron rights,
you think Indiana will wind up playing Oregon in the
Big Ten Championship game? I think Ohio State's gonna get Indiana.
So I think it's gonna be Ohio State and Oregon
in the Big Ten Championship a game game again.

Speaker 1 (01:12:19):
And I think Ohio State's gonna beat him.

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
Then what are you gonna do?

Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
Ohio State's gonna be one, Oregon's gonna be like a five.
I mean, it's just gonna be pure chaos whenever that happens.
But I do like this Indiana team, Arnie.

Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
I know the Big Tens.

Speaker 3 (01:12:32):
Yeah, the Big Ten's gonna you know, get some high
rankings out there.

Speaker 2 (01:12:35):
The SEC that's the one. How many teams are they
gonna get?

Speaker 3 (01:12:38):
It looks like they may take up what about four
of them, five of them?

Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
Four or five?

Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
I think I don't think anyone's a slammed dunck in.
I listen, I could really nerd out over this, but
I'm trying to keep Mike.

Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
What about not Dre Dama twenty to one? But they
you know, had a bad loss.

Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
Yeah, they lost in Northern Illinois, but right that's it
and they're not gonna lose again.

Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
So it's twenty to.

Speaker 4 (01:13:02):
And then there was this strategy talked before the break.
This is from our Buddy Ahead News. Justin Reid was
quoted in the postgame press conference saying the Chiefs were
discussing letting the Broncos score late to get the ball
back in the fourth quarter before the field goal attempt
which was blocked. What are your thoughts on this strategy

(01:13:22):
letting a team score because hey, we're out of timeouts,
we can't stop him. Let him score and then that
way we'll have a chance to tie it up. I
see it happen a lot in college, and I hate it, Arnie,
I absolutely hate letting a team purposefully score just to
get the football back.

Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
Well, they were up by two, right, so what would
they have let them do? Go ahead and let them
score a touchdown, gone down by five and gotten the
ball back and tried to score a touchdown them?

Speaker 1 (01:13:50):
Sure?

Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
Sure, No.

Speaker 4 (01:13:51):
I don't think I would have gone with that at all,
but just they obviously didn't. But the question is, what
do you think just overall of that strategy.

Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
I ate it. I don't like it also.

Speaker 3 (01:14:01):
I mean, sometimes you have to do it in extreme circumstances,
but I'm not for it, to be honest, I.

Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
Think my personal favorite whenever those things happen is when
a defender will grab the guy and drag him into
the end zone, like, oh no, I dragged you into
the end zone. Good question. More of your tweets coming
up plus after week ten. We know this, But first
Steve Seger with everything that's going on around the world.
Coming up next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:14:26):
All right, it's.

Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
Tarny and playing on the Fox Sports Sunday Week ten
of the NFL. In the books, ladies and gentlemen, Steve
de Seger's here with all the news notes and tidbits.

Speaker 1 (01:14:35):
We need to know what's going on.

Speaker 8 (01:14:37):
Steve, so much to talk about regarding tonight's game and
the comeback for Detroit, and we'll hear exactly how they won.
One quick note, there was a great NBA game at
Denver and another triple double for Nikola Jokic. It was
not a typical one. Denver edge Dallas one twenty two
to one twenty. Kyrie Irving had forty three points for
the MAVs, but he missed a late three point try.

(01:14:59):
The numbers for you victory thirty seven points, eighteen rebounds
and fifteen assists. Wow, this is a first in NBA
history for someone to have a triple double with those
high numbers in each of those categories. Well, the Houston
Texans were at home tonight leading at the half twenty
three to seven, but they lost on the final play

(01:15:20):
a long field goal by Detroit. So this is the
largest blown lead for the Texans since they gagged the
playoff game to the Chiefs five years ago. That was
a twenty four nothing lead. That was the appropriate, I
think comment because they were up twenty and gave up
fifty points. So enough said on that one. But Jake
Bates is the hero. First off, they lined them up
for a fifty eight yard attempt to tie the game

(01:15:42):
with about five minutes to go.

Speaker 4 (01:15:44):
Fifty eight to try to tie this game, pat in
the snap, there it is Fox the spot, kick away,
it is.

Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
Up and it is good. Got it from fifty eight.
Jakebase sends it.

Speaker 8 (01:15:59):
Through Lions Radio Network ninety seven point one the ticket,
and after Houston missed a fifty eight yarder after a
high snap with about two minutes left, they got the
ball near midfield, got just close enough to try this
field goal with Bates. Final play of regulation.

Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
Kickaway, it is up and it is good.

Speaker 11 (01:16:19):
Hey got it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
We're gonna right all of the wings of Jake Bates
O baby, good from fifty eight, good from fifty two.

Speaker 1 (01:16:28):
And that's for the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 8 (01:16:31):
And a pretty incredible backstory on all of this. Any
guess of where Jake Bates is from? Houston, Texas off
the gentleman, actually thirty miles north of Houston, but he
was at Texas State and he had transferred in as
a soccer player from elsewhere and was kickoffs only there
and then one year at Arkansas kickoffs only. Jake Bates

(01:16:51):
never attempted a field goal in his college football career.
And I can top this. Guess whose training camp he
was in one year ago. The Houston Texans undrafted and
they cut him after a couple of weeks, and he
made his name in the Spring League with Michigan, and
of course the Detroit Lions saw that when he won

(01:17:12):
a game with a sixty four yard field goal in
the UFL, longest field goal made in the history of
the Spring Leagues. And he got a two year deal
with the Lions. And this the incredible two long kicks
each just barely in to win the game in the
comeback at Houston, one of the long time NFL riders
at the La Times tweeted out, if there was just

(01:17:34):
a few more coats of paint on those uprights, maybe
maybe that wouldn't have gone through. Those were very very close.
Next Sunday night, it's going to be the Chargers again.
It was flexed out of Jets, Colts. Thank you, thank you, NFL.
Next Sunday night, it's going to be the Chargers hosting
the Bengals. The Chargers have won three in a row.
They're up to six and three. They beat Tennessee, which

(01:17:55):
we know is not a good team, but Tennessee does
have the league's top ranked defense, and the Chargers beat
him twenty seven seventeen. That was including a late touchdown.
But aside from that, the Chargers are allowing only about
thirteen fourteen points a game this year, and in fact,
only one team all year has even reached twenty points
against the Chargers. So when they go up against Jamar

(01:18:16):
Chase and Joe Burrow next Sunday night, really interested to
see that matchup. But in the last thirty years of
the NFL, only two other teams have allowed twenty points
or fewer in every game your first nine games to
start a season. That's the run the Chargers are on.
As admittedly, as we mentioned in the first hour of
the show, it's on a last play schedule offecially, especially

(01:18:38):
this first half of the season. But if you saw
the Chargers play last year, you know they earned this schedule.
Jalen Hurts was the hero in a Philadelphia win at
Dallas thirty four to six. The final two passing touchdowns,
two rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Horrible game.

Speaker 8 (01:18:52):
The guy, well, it was seven to six before halftime,
but thirty four to six is the final. Jalen Hurts
has ten rushing touchdowns because the brotherly shove. Of course,
those counters rushing touchdowns at the goal line. For a
quarterback to reach ten rushing touchdowns now four straight seasons
for him, nobody's done that, and in fact, nobody's done
that in four seasons of year career, consecutive or otherwise,

(01:19:15):
So congrats to him and Travis Kelcey, Kansas City tight
end is now up to ninety five career touchdown catches.
That passes Jimmy Graham for fourth most among NFL tight
ends in league history. Antonio Gates are the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
Now wait a bit, wait a minute, they back up
for you. Ten rushing touchdowns or just ten touchdowns.

Speaker 8 (01:19:33):
Ten rushing touchdowns for a quarterback. Okay, this is very
rare unless you're Lamar Jackson. This is very rare error
in NFL history. Kansas City is nine and oh they
beat Denver sixteen to fourteen. Chiefs blocked a thirty five
yard field goal attempt on the final play. Next Sunday,
Kansas City at Buffalo, Buffalo on it's fifth straight. Today

(01:19:54):
we had the Munich game today, Carolina in overtime beat
the Giants. This was the league's last Internet game this year.
Next year the NFL will play a game in Madrid,
maybe Germany, the commissioner says, maybe Ireland next season, certainly
the UK Mexico City looks probable, and maybe going back
to Brazil next year as well. Off this weekend, four

(01:20:16):
teams including the Raiders spectamu and it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
Was a very very glorious Sunday. All right, when we
come back after week ten, we know this. Ah, let's
go final hour. Let's tell you at tire rack dot
com studios, tire rack dot com, it is the way
tire buying should be an unmatched election, fast free shipping,

(01:20:40):
free road Hazzard protection over ten thousand recommended installers.

Speaker 1 (01:20:44):
All right, Arnie, can I be go ahead? Look?

Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
I want to bring something up that we probably won't
have time later on, and it's kind of bothering me.
Do you just I mean, I'm I'm fine if you
just want to drive.

Speaker 3 (01:20:57):
No, I don't want to added at Roman nural number nineteen.
But I think I always sent you over eighteen.

Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
Let me see.

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
I yeah, you only sent me eighteen because my last
one was Mike Kill vote seventeen with no context number
eighteen veterans salute on Fox with the context right.

Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
Number nineteen which I have a problem with. Is the
official of the game tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:21:23):
The official of the Texas one Lions game.

Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
No, excuse me of Kansas City's oh.

Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
Monday Night football four?

Speaker 7 (01:21:31):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
Okay, I I apologize, Go ahead?

Speaker 3 (01:21:33):
Why because Sarah Thomas, who's one of the officials before
the game, because.

Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
She's a woman. No, oh, I go ahead?

Speaker 3 (01:21:44):
No, before the game against we're going against the Broncos,
went over and made sure she I don't know if
it was up in the booth or wherever, to take
a picture with Taylor Swift.

Speaker 4 (01:21:58):
Okay, but she officiating the Broncos game. Yes, Oh, I
thought you said she was officiating the money that.

Speaker 3 (01:22:05):
Foot No, no, no, I'm sorry if I didn't explain that correctly.
She was officiating the Broncos Kansas City game and she
took a picture with Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (01:22:14):
So did she do it?

Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:22:17):
This is gonna sound really dumb because I saw this story.
But I saw it in a very arny way, and
by that I mean that it was someone that said, hey,
did you see the official that one took a picture
with Taylor Swift?

Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
And that was all I heard.

Speaker 4 (01:22:31):
So I don't know was she up there in her uniform?
Was this pre pre I mean, because Taylor Swift doesn't
get there that early to the.

Speaker 2 (01:22:38):
Game, right right.

Speaker 3 (01:22:40):
I don't think she was in her uniform. I've not
seen the picture.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Well, can we confirm that it happened?

Speaker 3 (01:22:47):
I think it has. I think it was reported. But
if it did, I got it's a conflict of interest,
if you ask.

Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
Me, you can't be doing something like that. So where
did you see this? Just to make sure you didn't
get a NBA sentel? No, I'm just kidding about that.
I don't I don't know where.

Speaker 3 (01:23:04):
Yeah here it is breaking news on m L football.
Is that a bad side?

Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
And said L football is pretty good?

Speaker 3 (01:23:11):
NBA ref Sarah Thomas met with Taylor Swift before game.
She's currently referring the Chiefs Broncos game where Travis Kelsey's playing,
and Thomas was on a FaceTime with her family with
Swift making sure they got pictures of them.

Speaker 1 (01:23:29):
So I guess they've they've met before. That that was
one part of.

Speaker 4 (01:23:38):
This landon, hold on and make sure this is a
legit thing. There's another Kansas City reporter that said Sarah
Sarah Thomas, no, he refers to as the down judge.

Speaker 1 (01:23:50):
I guess I haven't ever heard.

Speaker 4 (01:23:53):
Okay, I don't know that as as the definition of
one of the officials.

Speaker 2 (01:23:57):
But that's fine. Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:23:58):
Briefly met with Taylor Swift before the game. She was
on FaceTime with family and I heard her say, did
you get that screenshot?

Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
So in other words, that's a conflict of interest, Chris,
That's that's a big.

Speaker 4 (01:24:11):
Conflict, Okay, Like you think that she could be influenced
not to call a foul on the Chiefs not you
know what official doesn't.

Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
Well, that's what too. Maybe subconsciously she's not calling it
against the Chiefs just because she loves Taylor Swim so much.
You just don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:24:30):
You don't know what the subconscious could be like in
the spur of the moment when you're supposed to make
a call, especially one.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
You know, Chris, they always tell you in the media, Uh,
you know, when you're covering games or you're doing play
by play, you never take pictures with the athletes, do
you or ask him to sign autographs? Have you? Have
you ever gone into a locker room and said, oh, hey,
there's Tom Brady, Tom, do you mind if you just
signed this helmet for you would get fired?

Speaker 1 (01:24:54):
No?

Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
No, well I wouldn't ask for an autograph, but I
might say, hey, can you do an interview with me?

Speaker 2 (01:24:57):
Because that's my right exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:24:59):
But you would never say can I take a selfie
with you? Or would you mind signing a couple of
footballs of the helmet so I could take it out home.
You would be fired for that, Chris, And we all
know that something you cannot do. And here's an official
taking a picture with Taylor Swift.

Speaker 2 (01:25:17):
Now they're just dating.

Speaker 3 (01:25:20):
But you know this is a high profile couple, and
I just think it sends the wrong message kind of
what Dean Blandino went on the party bus with Jerry Jones.
Remember that we made such a big deal about that
when he was head of Officials.

Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
It just gives you it's the wrong optics there. I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
Maybe I'm making too much of that. Maybe everybody listens like,
come on, you're making too much of this.

Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
The Kansas City gets enough calls without me having to
see something like this.

Speaker 1 (01:25:45):
Chris, Okay, I don't know why you would.

Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
I guess if she wasn't dating Travis Kelcey, right, no
one would have a problem with right, exactly right. She's
in a relay ship. You would viewed in that. Maybe
subconsciously she might not call anything. Okay, I mean, I
guess I don't have that big of a problem with it,
but we because the chiefs.

Speaker 2 (01:26:11):
But I completely understand where you're coming from.

Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
I'm not trying to get right though, because we're taught
don't get an autograph. I would never, ever, and you
know I'm crazy. I would never go into a locker
room and have anybody sign anything. I even it was
for charity. I'd go through the proper channels and say, hey,
you know, we would love him the science.

Speaker 2 (01:26:29):
But I could never do something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
And I say, let me take a picture with you
when they came out of the locker room.

Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
No, that's the way to get fired.

Speaker 1 (01:26:38):
Let's see is there actual Do we actually see video
of this?

Speaker 7 (01:26:42):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:26:42):
I don't think I haven't. I don't haven't seen it,
but it's been reported.

Speaker 4 (01:26:46):
I'm gonna go, well, but here's the thing, right, it's
been reported by it looks like one person and everyone
is running. I'm not questioning land and Reinhardt, but land
and Reinhart reported this, and he seems to be the
only one, and everyone's piling on his report.

Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
Okay, Okay, so it could be maybe I'm wrong. We'll
see me again.

Speaker 4 (01:27:07):
I'm just I like to day's like, where did this
come from? Is Adam Schefter reporting this? Is Mitch Holt
is reporting this? No, it's Landon Reinhart from KSNT channel
twenty seven, And that's really it. And even the mL
Football it's crediting the it's crediting him right barely, So

(01:27:27):
I was there's been no further confirmation, so you can go.
I'm just trying to get to the bottom here. I'm
not questioning you, Arnie Spaniard. I don't think I have
a problem with it, But I also in the most
I guess you could say fence riding way possible completely understand.

Speaker 1 (01:27:43):
Where would piss you off?

Speaker 2 (01:27:44):
Well, it's not the battles, b or whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:27:48):
I mean, it is an alleged news outlet, but who knows.
You never know anymore. Next, I mean it was We've
had so many of those moments where guy's like, oh,
I just said that, and then we spent ten minutes
talking about it. But in general, I think in today's society, yeah,
with the influx of gambling, the way in which we
feel like anyone can be influenced, aren't you go to

(01:28:10):
be watching every little thing you do?

Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
Everything too? Didn't even think about that. Ask Matt you
say that.

Speaker 4 (01:28:15):
Taylor Swift would say, I've got fifty on the Chiefs today.
But just it's it's a general thought, right right, be
careful who you hang with?

Speaker 1 (01:28:24):
All right, Well, are you good on it?

Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
I'm good now. I feel better. I feel I will
see if anybody agrees with me on that, But I
feel good.

Speaker 4 (01:28:31):
At stinking genius one at playing show. Hit us up,
help us out, Arnie. After Week ten of the National
Football League, I know this where you want to start.

Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
Maybe just start with this.

Speaker 3 (01:28:42):
I've never, ever, ever, ever gonna get up early for
the nine thirty game. If you're gonna give me the
Giants and the Panthers or something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
I can't do it anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
I mean I could have slept in a little bit late, relax,
had breakfast, taking my time.

Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
Said I'm like, I gotta get up. I got I
got football to watch.

Speaker 3 (01:28:58):
And what a waste I mean real it just it
set me back for the day, got tired early in
the afternoon. I just don't make me get up. I
don't have to get up for those games anymore. I
know it's going to be a lousy game when you're
playing at nine thirty, even if it was closed and
it went in overtime.

Speaker 2 (01:29:14):
I just don't need to get up for something like that.
So funny story.

Speaker 4 (01:29:18):
We stayed last night in Columbia because it was a
late game and it's about a six and a half
hour drive, so we were like, you know, let's stay
tonight and we'll drive back today.

Speaker 1 (01:29:29):
We got to about four hours.

Speaker 4 (01:29:32):
Into the drive, whenever I look to the guy next
to me, I'm like, you know, there's an NFL game
on right now.

Speaker 1 (01:29:37):
Like literally, we had complete.

Speaker 4 (01:29:40):
We just caught up in listening to Gosh, we were
listening to Fox Sports Radio, and we were just it's
almost as if even with those updates, right you know,
we could be listening to this game right now, and we're.

Speaker 2 (01:29:51):
Kind of laugh. I was like, yeah, we don't know,
let's go listen.

Speaker 4 (01:29:53):
We heard the game winning field goal car and then
we were right back to listening to OU Center postgame
breakdowns and stuff like that. So it wasn't even resonating
with somebody who was on a long car ride this morning.
We're listening to a football game. Would have been perfect.
How bad it was?

Speaker 1 (01:30:08):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:30:09):
Here's my question.

Speaker 4 (01:30:11):
Does the NFL need to invest in better matchup in
these international games and the matchups take place?

Speaker 2 (01:30:17):
Yeah, it does. It does have to.

Speaker 3 (01:30:19):
You can't just keep sending the drek of the NFL
over there. Sooner or later you got to give him
some decent games, and not every.

Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
Game could be like this. So if you're okay, would
do it right, Chris?

Speaker 3 (01:30:30):
You know, don't say, oh, we want to go ahead
and be overseas, but we don't want to send anybody
good out there. The problem is it takes away somebody's
home game, and how do you justify something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:30:40):
So, based on the text that you sent me, you
gave Big Ben the night.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
Off, Big I gave Big Begging the night off, and
I made the Sega come in for three hours today.

Speaker 4 (01:30:50):
And Bernie's working, so that means I can say something
nice about Kyler Murray and not have it get destroyed
whenever we're done here. Okay, after week ten, I know this.
I think the Cardinals are good, and I think Kyler
Murray's on the verge of a really big time breakout season.

Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:31:08):
Cardinals are an incredible team when it comes to running
the football, and they did lose three of their last
four games, but since a very embarrassing forty two to
fourteen loss to the Commanders Arnie, they won five of
their last six, including a win over a team with
a winning record like the Chargers and the Niners. I
kind of think the Cardinals might be really good, and

(01:31:29):
I think to what Todd Furman said, I think that
game next week with the Seahawks, outside of the Chiefs
Bills game next week.

Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
It might be like the game of the week. I
think that's gonna be fun. I like the Cardinals, I
really do. I like the way Murray's playing. You talk
about a team that's underappreciated, it's the Arizona Cardinals. I
mean they're way under the Raider. I like them a lot.
I'll tell you this. What I learned after this week
is that the Minnesota Vikings are the worst seven and
two team I think I've ever seen in my life.

(01:31:58):
I can't believe they actually pulled that out today, kicking
like a million field goals, whether they kick like four
field goals or something like that. They're just not a
very good team. Chris Well, I shouldn't say they're not
a very good team. They're just not as good as
that seven and two record. And they struggled against the Jaguars,
but they were going to get a victory today.

Speaker 4 (01:32:20):
After Week ten, I know this, and we've spent some
time on it already on the show. The Bleakest Outlook
going forward for any team that you want to make
fun of, Browns Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars.

Speaker 1 (01:32:37):
No, no, no, no. The bleakest outlook going forward.

Speaker 4 (01:32:40):
Arnie is the New York Jets. Oh yeah, what do
they have to hang their hat on right now? I'm
waiting Jets fans.

Speaker 1 (01:32:48):
What do you say?

Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
Hey? Thank you?

Speaker 8 (01:32:50):
Mary?

Speaker 2 (01:32:51):
What do you say?

Speaker 3 (01:32:52):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
You know what, we feel pretty good about this going
forward and we get not this. I mean you got
your coach fired.

Speaker 5 (01:32:58):
They have nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:33:00):
They're like terrible.

Speaker 5 (01:33:02):
They might be like like hand in hand with the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
No, no, no, I think it's worse than the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (01:33:08):
Mary.

Speaker 4 (01:33:09):
And and by the way, Arnie sold me on that
because you told me you take Dak Prescott over Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
Yeah, that's that's true.

Speaker 3 (01:33:16):
That that's the only reason why the Cowboys are in
a little bit of a better shape. Jed are gonna
lose a lot of people, and they have an aging quarterback,
a quarterback that has shown no spark really in just
about all the games. Yeah, he's played well in what
like one of them saw the old Aaron Rodgers. But
other than that, this guy is pedestrian. There's no doubt

(01:33:37):
he'll never have that old form again.

Speaker 4 (01:33:40):
Now apparently though, according to overthecap dot com, yeah, they
will have forty nine million dollars in cap.

Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
Space this offseason.

Speaker 4 (01:33:50):
Okay, so maybe maybe there's a chance to do something
this offseason, make a move or two.

Speaker 1 (01:33:58):
But what would that be like? I know that we've
known this.

Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
What do you got to make Adams younger? Are you
going to make him any younger than he is now?
I don't know. Maybe you're able to deal him, gonna
get a couple of picks.

Speaker 1 (01:34:11):
Back or something.

Speaker 4 (01:34:12):
I don't know, but you're you're at least stuck with
him for another year, and you're stuck with Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
For another year. That's a waste.

Speaker 4 (01:34:19):
Even though Aaron Rodgers base salary next year is only
two point five million dollars, did you know that?

Speaker 7 (01:34:24):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:34:24):
I did not know that.

Speaker 4 (01:34:26):
Aaron Rodgers next year, according to overthecap dot com, with
his pro rated signing bonus, his base salary is only
two point five million dollars, but he counts twenty three
point five million dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
Against the cap in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (01:34:42):
The h he's your highest cap liability on the entire
roster outside of Davante Adams.

Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
Oh there you go, one, and who.

Speaker 4 (01:34:51):
Who will count thirty eight million dollars against the Jets cap.

Speaker 2 (01:34:56):
In twenty Wow? Wow?

Speaker 4 (01:34:58):
That's according to over the CAAP. I assume that I'm
reading this all right, You got anything else you want.

Speaker 2 (01:35:03):
To hit here? Well, after week ten, I know this.
It is o v er for the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (01:35:10):
If we didn't say it before, what a way to
go down in flames. I mean, you talk about such
a disappointment, and you could probably come up with a
great one through five for dissupporting teams in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:35:22):
But they may be leading the way. Just horrible how
they're gonna fit.

Speaker 3 (01:35:27):
They may not win five games this year, especially if
Dak Prescott doesn't look like he's coming back. It's gonna
be a horrible Jerry Jones may fire those radio hosts
out there. It's gonna be a horrible end of the
final season for him.

Speaker 4 (01:35:42):
Well, and I'll dovetail off that to say that after
week ten, I know this, the Cowboys are gonna let
it ride with Mike McCarthy. Now, I don't know how
much worse it can get than getting drummed by our
trival and having your star wide receiver whom you paid
and it isn't going anywhere, complain about the need for
what he say, drapes curtains at Cowboys Stadium, and then

(01:36:05):
Jerry's like, we know the sun is what are we knowing?
Why are we calling for the ball to go in
this direction? So I guess I finally have got to
let go of this Jerry Jones press conference where he
announces Mike McCarthy is being fired. It's like, ah, I
want to see this, Well, you want to see him
blame himself and make Mike McCarthy uncomfortably set up their

(01:36:26):
White fires him.

Speaker 2 (01:36:27):
Well, you know what the Dak Prescott injury does, don't.

Speaker 4 (01:36:30):
You allows him to tank, get Sanders. It allows you
to tank. Forget about the draft pick. Maybe they get Sanders,
maybe they don't.

Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
It allows you to tank, and it allows Mike McCarthy
to have an excuse so you don't have to fire
him and he comes back for another year. Unless you
do want to bring in Dion, then that is going
to be quite interesting. If you end up getting Don
and his son, that could be a possible. I was shying.
You just told me you don't care about the draft pick. Well,

(01:37:02):
I'm just saying if it wasn't like that.

Speaker 4 (01:37:03):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:37:04):
He wants to go to the Raiders or he wants
to go to Dallas. I don't know that that's going
to work out.

Speaker 4 (01:37:08):
I was trying to figure out if there was even
a guy on the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff that you
would look at and say, all right, there's a guy
you can make the head coach that could be an
up and comer, and you really don't really have one.

Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
I mean, Scott toolszen is.

Speaker 1 (01:37:19):
Their quarterbacks coach.

Speaker 4 (01:37:22):
I mean Mike McCarthy's are offensive coordinator, but Brian Schottenheimer
as a co oc I mean, there's really not anyone
here that you would be like, oh, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
That guy could run the team.

Speaker 4 (01:37:31):
So what I would do if I was a head coach, Arnie,
I'd turn out myself with a good offensive and defensive
coordinator and a bunch of crappy coaches so that way
they couldn't fire.

Speaker 2 (01:37:39):
Me and elevate one of them that would do a
better job with You don't like to dion if that's
a possibility or no.

Speaker 3 (01:37:44):
No.

Speaker 4 (01:37:45):
I like to be on idea. I absolutely do, But
I just he's kind of got to cook at in
Colorado right now.

Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
Oh that's gonna be temporary. He's going to move on
to the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:37:55):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:37:55):
Man, you're telling me about how easy that conference is, right,
I mean, why not?

Speaker 2 (01:38:01):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:38:02):
What do you guys want to throw in a dis
mix at Stinking Genius Swanham at Plank Show. Everyone follow
us at Fox Sports Radio after week ten. You know
this and when we come back Roman numeral number four.
Arnie is a fan of a team that sucks. I'm
a fan of a team that sucks. So we've already
started to look at the scenarios for next year, which
we'll dive into next on Fox Sports Radio. Hey Arnie, congratulations, Yes,

(01:38:30):
do you know what you know?

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
Why? No, but I'll take it.

Speaker 4 (01:38:35):
Congratulations to the University of Arizona triathlon team who won
the national championship.

Speaker 2 (01:38:42):
Oh did we there? You go? Don't mess with us.
Didn't know that was a thing, didn't know? But hey,
take Do you think you could have how do you
think you would have done? Oh? Piece of cake?

Speaker 1 (01:39:01):
I love your confidence.

Speaker 5 (01:39:03):
Do you even know what the triathlon is?

Speaker 2 (01:39:05):
Yeah? I do what the triathlon is? What is it?

Speaker 3 (01:39:08):
It's a combination of oh, I don't know, all the individuals.

Speaker 2 (01:39:12):
There's three of them, right, what the uh is it?
The the run.

Speaker 13 (01:39:19):
Bike and you swim so he doesn't know. Yeah, he
has no clue. Yeah, sorry, but you were thinking of
like the heptathlon. You were trying to come up with
ten different.

Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
Oh, the cathlon is what I was thinking about it. Oh, okay.

Speaker 4 (01:39:33):
And then breaking news. I don't know if the heptathlons thing.
Breaking news tonight from the NBA. What an awful weekend
for Oklahoma according to reports. Well, what am I talking about?
This pisses me off? Shams is like breaking news from
Shams Sharania.

Speaker 1 (01:39:48):
Yeah, the Thunder sent out a release.

Speaker 4 (01:39:50):
Bro. They literally sit out a release and then it's
it's in my inbox and thirty seconds later. Shams is
like breaking news from Shams. No breaking news from the
Oklahoma City Thunder. Okay, I'm mad. Chet Holmgren will be
out eight to ten weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:40:07):
Wow, that's a long time, geez.

Speaker 4 (01:40:10):
I've never heard of this injury in my life. Right
iliac wing fracture? Right, iliac wing fracture? Anyone, Bueller?

Speaker 3 (01:40:26):
I can explain it to you, but it and we
go over your head, Chris, give it a try.

Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
I don't want to pour everybody, Okay, well, don't want
to bore it.

Speaker 4 (01:40:33):
Good news return this year bad news though he is
going to be reevaluated in two months. Two months, I mean,
thunder fans are already losing their minds because Oklahoma City
had the audacity to lose a second game last night.

Speaker 2 (01:40:47):
So they're not doing well. I was gonna say they
got to be happy with the way they started. Huh.

Speaker 1 (01:40:51):
Well, yeah, but he's a major reason why he's been fantastic.

Speaker 4 (01:40:56):
But was it just a sidebar real quick in this
the knock and the concern about chet Holmgren. It's like,
will he be able to withstand the full NBA schedule?
And now this is the second time that he's had
a major injury that's going to affect a majority of.

Speaker 2 (01:41:14):
A season, and the time of three years.

Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
The Western Conference is loaded beast, I mean loaded, so
it could really affect them big time.

Speaker 4 (01:41:22):
Hey, you did have on the Roman numeral here the
update on your on your bets, your your big bet
that you made?

Speaker 1 (01:41:30):
Are thousands better about it? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:41:34):
Yeah, you're Yeah, that's pretty much.

Speaker 3 (01:41:36):
I feel like ninety two percent that my Arizona Wildcats
will win the NCAA Men's Championship. We're winning games by
like fifty and sixty points. We got a great backcourd,
great defense, the skilled offensive players. You'll see when we
crush Wisconsin and smack them around, you know, like like
you wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (01:41:57):
Believe it, will destroy them.

Speaker 3 (01:41:58):
And then Duke will come into town and we'll put
a beating on them, like they just say, so.

Speaker 4 (01:42:03):
This is this is also November and December, so it's
not until or.

Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
Once we get to the conference play.

Speaker 3 (01:42:08):
We probably won't lose, except maybe maybe Kansas will be
a close game. I don't see us even losing in
the in the Big twelve.

Speaker 2 (01:42:16):
And then and then.

Speaker 4 (01:42:18):
Hold on a second, is this like you didn't see
you losing in the Big twelve and.

Speaker 3 (01:42:22):
Football that's deff. We're basketball school. Come on now, stop it.

Speaker 4 (01:42:27):
You know, I do want to remind you if you
don't see yourself losing. Outside of maybe the Kansas, there
are four teams in this conference that are ranked ahead
of you.

Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
In the rankings right now.

Speaker 4 (01:42:40):
In basketball, Kansas is won, Houston is four, Iowa State
is five, Baylor is eight.

Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
In your ten, we'll smack around Baylor. They'll wish they'd
ever seen us. Okay and Iowa State the same thing.

Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
You're two and zero and wins over Canecious and Old Dominion. Right.
I saw both those games. So we're we're in the
New York Knicks.

Speaker 3 (01:43:03):
I'm a little bit concerned about off to a slow start,
but the Eastern Conference is so easy. It's only going
to be what Boston, Cleveland and the Knicks are the
top three.

Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
So that's what you got there.

Speaker 4 (01:43:14):
All right, Well, congrats on your tin green mit as.
We'll go ahead and start spending it with.

Speaker 3 (01:43:18):
I'm thinking about where I'm gonna go on vacation next summer.
We're gonna have a big vacation, maybe Hawaii or something there.

Speaker 6 (01:43:23):
You go.

Speaker 4 (01:43:23):
Well, for one final time tonight, everybody, Steve Sager is
in the house to get a squot up on everything
in the world of sports before we get to your
tweets and Arnie's picks.

Speaker 8 (01:43:30):
What's going on, Steve, And as you mentioned, Chad Holmgren
with the hip fracture after a fall tonight. Okay, see, so.

Speaker 4 (01:43:38):
Is that what you're saying hip? Yes, when it said Wing,
I thought that had something to do with an all
is he.

Speaker 2 (01:43:42):
My father's age or something? My goodness, Elvick Wing?

Speaker 1 (01:43:45):
Yes, ah, thank you, Steve.

Speaker 8 (01:43:46):
Golden State the winner at Oklahoma City tonight, so each
team is eight and two. Steph Curry with thirty six points.
Holmegren was hurt on a fall Denver edge Dallas Nicola
Jokich your triple double overtime wins for Philadelphia and Sacramento.
Austin won again their nine and two, and the Lakers
beat Toronto by twenty even though Anthony Davis of LA
left with an eye injury. Lebron James with a triple

(01:44:08):
double that included sixteen assists. Lakers five and oh at
home by the way, Number six gonzagabat Arizona State and
men's college hoops eighty eight to eighty women's basketball Number
one South Carolina beat number nine North Carolina State. Top
twenty matchup Maryland over Duke and I must mention number
twenty Old miss in women's hoops defeated Arkansas Pine Bluff

(01:44:28):
today eighty five to twenty four. Early in the fourth quarter,
the score was sixty seven to seventeen. Final stats. Pine
Bluff shot nine of sixty one from the floor with
twenty two turnovers, more than double the turnovers compared to
baskets in this game, but that still doesn't top the

(01:44:48):
best NFL stat I saw this weekend. AP points out
that the Cleveland Browns, who you may not have missed,
Let's just say that today, they like the Raiders, were
off today. The Cleveland Browns this have more yardage punting
than they do on offense.

Speaker 1 (01:45:03):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 8 (01:45:09):
When the Rams returned to Los Angeles and Jeff Fisher
was the coach that first year back in LA, the
Rams for a full season had more yardage punting than
they did on offense. Uh, you know, I can recall
Jared Goff being part of the team back then. It's
how things have changed. Jared Goff, isn't it is on
a Detroit team that's undefeated on the road and eight

(01:45:31):
and one overall. After winning in quite a comeback at
Houston tonight twenty six, twenty three. Even though Goff had
two touchdowns five interceptions, Houston was up at the half
twenty three to seven. The Texans on their last eleven
drives tonight only eleven first downs. Joe Mixon twenty five carries,
just forty six yards rushing one TD C J. Stroud
one touchdown, two interceptions, sacked four times. Texans wide receiver

(01:45:55):
Nico Collins still out after the hamstring injury, and of
course Stefan digs out for the year with the horn
acl the hero for the Lions who won these seven
straight games, the guy who kicked the fifty two yard
field goal on the final play, Jake Bates, who also
had a fifty eight yard with about five minutes to
go that tied the game. Philadelphia won its fifth game
in a row thirty four to six at Dallas. Cowboys

(01:46:16):
have lost four straight. Cooper Rush was the starting quarterback today.
He was thirteen of twenty three for forty five yards
passing twenty three attempts and only forty five yards passing
in an NFL game and two fumbles. Dak Prescott with
the hamstring injury. We'll see a specialist Monday. It seems
like he's out for the year. That's just not official.
Cowboys zero to four at home next weekend on Monday

(01:46:39):
Night Football, it'll be Houston at Dallas. By the way,
Dallas offense today thirteen drives, eleven first downs and five turnovers.
Arizona won its four straight game thirty one six over
the Jets. Jets are one and five on the road.
You mentioned Devonte Adams. He was targeted thirteen times in
this game, six catches thirty one yards. The car Wars

(01:47:00):
Cardinals are still half game up on San Francisco in
their division race. Kyler Murray one touchdown pass, two touchdown runs.
Chargers over Tennessee twenty seven to seventeen. Chargers have won
three straight. They sacked Will Levis seven times. Next Sunday night,
Chargers host the Bengals. By the way, running back Gus
Edwards was off ir for La today, the former Raven
with ten carries fifty five yards but Kansas City's nine

(01:47:22):
to oh After beating Denver sixteen to fourteen, the Chief
blocked a thirty five yard field goal attempt on the
final play. Next Sunday, Kansas City at Buffalo, which won
its fifth in a row. Pittsburgh won its fourth straight.
San Francisco sent Tampa Bay to a four straight loss
on a field goal final play. Minnesota won twelve seven
at Jacksonville, New England and New Orleans, with wins by

(01:47:43):
the way with New Orleans, the all time rushing leader
in Saint's history is now Alvin Kamara. He passed mark
ingram yea that is correct, over six five hundred yards
in a Saint's uniform and in Munich, Carolina in overtime
beat the Giants twenty to seventeen. Cuba Hubbard twenty eight
carries one hundred and fifty three yards. Florida State fired
both coordinators and the wide receivers coach. The Marlins are

(01:48:06):
reportedly hiring Dodgers first base coach Clayton McCullough as their
new manager. McCullough, years ago worked with current Marlins assistant
GM Gabe Kapler in the Dodgers organization. And I must
mention the end of the NASCAR season, the season title
goes to Joey Logano. He had stayed alive during these
playoffs after another driver was disqualified.

Speaker 2 (01:48:25):
Oh that's right.

Speaker 8 (01:48:26):
This is his third career Cup Series championship. Thank you.
He edged defending champ Ryan Blaney to win the race
at Phoenix. William Byron finished third. So team Penske and
Ford have won three straight Cup Series championships. The four
title contenders all finished in the top six in this finale.
Ligano finished first in four races this year. Beck to you,

(01:48:47):
by the way, I would have been way off.

Speaker 3 (01:48:48):
I was thinking about running backs, what about Chuck Bunsey,
But he was only there like five years.

Speaker 8 (01:48:52):
He was a charger with their greed.

Speaker 2 (01:48:53):
He was a charge right, but he was at He
was a saint too for about four or five years.

Speaker 8 (01:48:58):
Cal Golden Bears before that. Did you see hell? This weekend?
Wore the Chuck Munsey era helmets with this, oh as
Cal got their first ACC win this weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:49:08):
Should should should.

Speaker 8 (01:49:09):
Have been the team that had almost beaten Miami this year.
That was one of the close calls.

Speaker 2 (01:49:13):
Should have beaten Miami.

Speaker 4 (01:49:15):
That was a really bad targeting call that was overturned
or not called.

Speaker 1 (01:49:20):
I think it was. I think it was not called.

Speaker 8 (01:49:22):
What I remember about the game, aside from Cal blowing
a large lead, is that it ended, I believe at
two thirty in the morning Eastern. I'm not kidding.

Speaker 4 (01:49:30):
Yeah, I sat up for some dumb reason. I'm like, oh,
it's gonna be great, Like what am I doing to myself?

Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:49:35):
Thanks, Steve, have a great week. But and you're out
next week, so football flex, I gave.

Speaker 2 (01:49:41):
Him off next week, So haven't you not give him
off next week?

Speaker 1 (01:49:44):
Nice?

Speaker 4 (01:49:45):
Let me get some of these tweets in here before
we get out of here. It's been so good tonight
it's thinking genius one. I'm at playing show. Everybody should
be following us at Fox Sports Radio, Darryl, Right, how
do we know which referees have allegiance system to any
of these teams? How do we know how many reps
are wagering on these games? To think players are the

(01:50:05):
only ones with gambling addictions is naive. Yet we want
to make Taylor Swift a story clicks.

Speaker 3 (01:50:13):
Well, first of all, he could be right, but I
don't have any story there. I'm not just gonna go
ahead and say that's, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:50:18):
Just and we're counting on one reporter from a station
I've never heard of in Kansas City, right, But.

Speaker 2 (01:50:24):
That's the story that came out, And I'm like, you
know what, I think that's a conflict of interest.

Speaker 3 (01:50:28):
I don't think it's that big of a deal obviously
compared to like gambling or something, but it does. The
NFL is going to have to investigate it. I promise
that again, I have I don't know this guy that's
reporting it. I've never heard of him in my life,
but it is one dude's report, and I'm gonna be
honest with you. I feel like I covered the NFL

(01:50:49):
a lot. Sarah Thomas could walk in this room right
now and I'd have no idea who she was.

Speaker 2 (01:50:54):
No.

Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
No, And I'm the same way, Chris, I'm and you're right.
It is one guy's report. I mean, obviously I'm not
gonna go ahead and start searching around for more reports
on that, but I just wanted to see if that
was you know, people thought that maybe it was a
conflict of interest.

Speaker 4 (01:51:10):
Well, I like how your first inclination is not to
figure out if it's true or not. Your first inclination
is to just say, I think it's a conflict of interest.

Speaker 3 (01:51:19):
Well he's reporting it, you know. I can't say, well,
he's absolutely lying. It's not true. I can't say that
she was in Columbia, Missouri on Friday night.

Speaker 4 (01:51:28):
I know she was at a restaurant Sarah Thomas was
because a bunch of people in the Sooner beat metter.

Speaker 2 (01:51:34):
That's like I have.

Speaker 1 (01:51:36):
I would not know her if she walked in here tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (01:51:38):
And do you know who else kind of blew me
away that was on the sideline Saturday night for the
Oklahoma Missouri game.

Speaker 2 (01:51:45):
Tony Romo, You'll get out of here.

Speaker 5 (01:51:48):
Yeah, Like, hey, guys, can I like break the show
for like two seconds.

Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
Yeah. Sure.

Speaker 5 (01:51:51):
So we just got a call from a calling named
Angry Bill. He told me he would give me one
thousand dollars if I told Arnie to shut up.

Speaker 14 (01:51:59):
So one thousand dollars dollar money. So Angry Bill, if
you're listen, Yeah, that's a thousand dollars. That's a thousand dollars. Yeah,
jesus are you my? My Twitter is Marry the board hop.
I accept a thousand dollars?

Speaker 2 (01:52:12):
You me, you DM me.

Speaker 3 (01:52:14):
For my But did he say what he wanted me
to shut up about? What made him so unhinged?

Speaker 5 (01:52:18):
I feel like he doesn't really need a reason.

Speaker 2 (01:52:20):
I feel like you're a year and no.

Speaker 5 (01:52:21):
You're pretty upsurd. I think I think he speaks.

Speaker 1 (01:52:23):
For all of us.

Speaker 4 (01:52:24):
So must have been the Sarah Tavas on Mary's Cash
app is at Plank Show nineteen seventy five. It's accident,
Mary is cool, Michael writes, Arnie says some nutty things
that make Plank mad sometimes, but a plank at least
he's nowhere near Jerry's level. No, no, no number, Jerry

(01:52:45):
going all in only to have this happen.

Speaker 1 (01:52:48):
Alreny, you covered him. You were there.

Speaker 2 (01:52:50):
Yeah, I mean he's got to be dripping him crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:52:51):
You know what, thing I always liked about Jerry has
always felt that he was very realistic in his approach
and he knew what he was getting from year to year.
Maybe he's not gonna say, well, yeah, look, I know
we're not winning the super Bowl this year. He has
to be optimistic. So I don't think he's as dumb
as people are trying to make him out to be. Chris,
I don't think he's quite like that. No, I don't

(01:53:13):
think he's dumb, but or maybe like losing it or
gum snaw or anything like that. He is stubborn. He
doesn't come across very stubborn. I agree with you one
hundred percent. By the way, I don't think he's really
calling the shots on player personnel or anything like that.
Maybe even yeah, Steven's doing it. Maybe he had his
say on the Dak contract, but that's about it. He's

(01:53:36):
not in the office going, no, we can't pay that
second string offensive lineman that type of money. Let's move
him for a fifth round pick. The he's not in
on that stuff like that. He's not in on any
of that stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:53:48):
Mistere, Nobody with apologies Charman Rob Parker for gimmick infringement.

Speaker 1 (01:53:53):
The twenty twenty four Kansas.

Speaker 4 (01:53:54):
City Chiefs are the luckiest undefeated team in the NFL
since the twenty twenty Steelers.

Speaker 2 (01:54:01):
Dude, I forgot about the twenty twenty Steelers.

Speaker 4 (01:54:04):
They didn't play like a Wednesday night game, which was
I think they beat the Ravens. I completely forgot about
the twenty twenty Steelers. Right all right, anyway back to
the point, would you buy that the Chiefs are unlucky?
I'm sorry lucky right now?

Speaker 3 (01:54:18):
If I if you were gonna say, here's one thousand dollars,
put it on.

Speaker 4 (01:54:22):
One team, Mary's taking request one thousand dollars in tell
Arnie whatever you want.

Speaker 3 (01:54:26):
Yes, literally, if you were telling me to place it
on one team, I'm not gonna place it on Kansas City.
I do think that was eventually going to I put
it on Detroit one because I think they're a better team.
And two, I just think that sooner or later that
bubble is going to purst. Not that they're you know,
not going to continue to win, but they're gonna lose eventually.

(01:54:47):
These close games, you can only rely on a block kick,
so many times before it comes back and haunts you.

Speaker 4 (01:54:52):
You know, Okay, we got a break eleven and oh
the twenty twenty Pittsburgh Steelers, I forget, proceeded to lose
four of their next five games and lost out in
the first rout.

Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
Of the playoffs. Oh my gosh, completely forgot about it
all right.

Speaker 4 (01:55:09):
When we come back to the tyrack dot com studios,
it's Arnie's picks to take us home on Fox Sports Radio. Hey,
one thing we didn't get to tonight, Arnie, we didn't
get to your Roman numeral number nine.

Speaker 2 (01:55:21):
Number nine. Oh, the utah ad was mad? How about that?

Speaker 3 (01:55:26):
I thought you would want to talk about that because
you've you've always not liked the Big twelve reps.

Speaker 2 (01:55:31):
You laugh at them. They're terrible. They're absolutely horrendous.

Speaker 4 (01:55:34):
And then I started working in the SEC and I
realized their officials are even worse.

Speaker 3 (01:55:39):
Why do we have SEC revs Big twelve refs? Why
are they assigned to one conference?

Speaker 4 (01:55:44):
You know, I don't know, but I know this much.
I always try because I do the coin toss. So
it's the great voice of the Sooners. Toby Rowland say,
let's go down a Chris Plank. Who's at the coin toss.
So instead of just going the coins in the air
and its heads, it's like, I try to learn little
something about the officials, right, it's my thing. It's like, hey,
here's our referee today, Arnie Spanier. He thinks he's good

(01:56:05):
at basketball, and he's really terrible. Here's his voice.

Speaker 7 (01:56:07):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:56:09):
So I have come to find out that every single
officiating crew in the SEC, every single one, Arnie, there
is at least one to two to maybe three fan
bases that have started a petition to have them fired.

Speaker 2 (01:56:26):
Damn joking.

Speaker 4 (01:56:27):
I believe every single league thinks their officials suck. And
I don't know what we're gonna do about it, but
here we are. Yeah, Mark Carlan, awesome dude, Awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:56:39):
Love the death.

Speaker 4 (01:56:39):
Athletic director at Utah literally went up and apologized to
his fans for the officials. They've already fined him, they're
going to publicly reprimand him. But I could see that's you.
If you were an athletic director.

Speaker 3 (01:56:50):
I thought, you know, I would have done the same thing,
no doubt about that.

Speaker 1 (01:56:54):
All right, take it away, stinking genius, Time for your picks.

Speaker 2 (01:56:57):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:56:58):
We're gonna mix it up a little bit as a
hold you, Arizona is going to be playing Wisconsin on Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:57:04):
We'll be way is basketball. I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (01:57:07):
I don't want to mix my sports, but we'll beat
them like a drum. They're not in the same class
as us. They've played nobody and yeah, but they're not
in the same class as us, Chris, really not. They
have no business getting on the court with us. They're
not better offensively. We're much better defensively, also by double digits.

(01:57:33):
And then then we have founding that they deserve.

Speaker 4 (01:57:40):
Who's going to get the pounding that they deserve? You
cut out Duke? Okay, thank you?

Speaker 3 (01:57:45):
Yeah, I think they're a tad bit overrated. So I
can't wait till they come down the Arizona and get their.

Speaker 2 (01:57:53):
Butt kicked there. You should go to that game, what
Arizona Duke?

Speaker 4 (01:57:57):
Yeah, so once in a lifetime opportunity. How many times
have you guys played Duke?

Speaker 2 (01:58:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:58:04):
I might I should have done that. You know, that's
not a bad idea. I wonder how much a ticket
would cost.

Speaker 4 (01:58:09):
Do you know the last time that Arizona played Duke
in basketball?

Speaker 2 (01:58:14):
Yeah? I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:58:15):
We last year was there, but the time before that
was twenty fourteen. Arizona has won three straight games in
this year.

Speaker 2 (01:58:25):
Yeah, they're nobodies. They're nobody's.

Speaker 3 (01:58:27):
No, give me Tennessee plus not against Georgia in college football.
And I'm gonna take Arkansas plus the sixteen and a
half against Texas.

Speaker 4 (01:58:36):
Okay, Tyson, you're taking Arkansas plus sixteen and a half
against Texas.

Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
Yes, I am why. I like the points in that
one in Arkansas. Yeah you don't. You don't like that one.

Speaker 1 (01:58:50):
It's fine, Just you're terrible in college football this year.

Speaker 2 (01:58:53):
Mate.

Speaker 3 (01:58:53):
I'm taking my Miami Dolphins plus two and a half
with or without Tyreek Hill against the Rams, and Tyson
will knock out Jake Paul in like the second or
third round.

Speaker 1 (01:59:05):
So you think it's gonna be legit.

Speaker 2 (01:59:07):
Yeah, it's gonna be legit.

Speaker 3 (01:59:08):
Tyson's gonna even if it was a legit, I can
see Tyson losing his marbles and throwing punches like crazy.
I think Tyson's gonna lose his mind and beat the
crap out of him.

Speaker 2 (01:59:18):
So I like Tyson. So there you have my picks.
Do with him as you please. No longer strictly for
entertainment purposes only.

Speaker 5 (01:59:23):
I saw a meme on Twitter that was like, if
Tyson like feels like he's gonna lose, he might just
have to like do what he did back in the day,
like like like not like pull a Evander Holyfield.

Speaker 2 (01:59:35):
Was thirty years ago.

Speaker 4 (01:59:37):
I mean he might, you know, eighteen hours and six
minutes until Paul and Tyson square off, And I'm cracking
up because in every promotional announcement, I don't think it's
gonna happen on Friday. Because in every promotional announcement, what
do they say. They don't say coming Friday, they say

(01:59:57):
coming soon, coming.

Speaker 2 (01:59:59):
Oh, get on?

Speaker 5 (02:00:00):
Have you guys been seeing like the like what Jake
Paul's been saying to Tyson and stuff, like they're exchanging
words and stuff.

Speaker 4 (02:00:05):
Of course, it's part of the game, man, It's like
a WWE wrestling match is what this is more than
anything else. Just just embrace it. It's what it's all about.
Great job by Mary Mack, Great great job by Patrick Swake,
a great job by Steve to say your Varney Span.
You're on, Chris Plank, Big Bit is out. Bernie Fratto
is next on Fox.
