Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Welcome to Fox Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here with
Tracy Sandler, who's in for Carmen today. So thank you
for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. I just got
to take a moment right off the top here to say,
what a fight night we got in Dallas yest night.
I think I had every emotion throughout the entire evening.
The first two fights were incredible. The Ramos versus Barios

(00:28):
ended in the draw, and the respect they had for
each other was just so like Chef's kiss. And then
the Tailor Serrano fight was so impressive. These women like
that was history, that was legendary. We're going to dive
into the whole situation, the whole night a little later,
especially the main event Mike Tyson and Jake Paul and

(00:51):
you know, they got everyone to watch. They broke They
broke Netflix. Was it a good fight, absolutely not.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Was it hard to watch? Yep?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
It was like watching an out of shape dad fight
his son in his prime.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
But there was respect there between the two. And you
know what they did it? Hey did it.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
They knew what they were doing. They both walked away
with the bag and it is what it is.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
We all watched it was as a kid, say cinema.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah, no, it was like the perfect like social media. Yes,
memes were going off last night, which I uh, keep
them comming.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Man. That was the real fight was between Netflix and
their connection. That was everything. We're gonna get into that
a little later. Really excited for the.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Big college football matchup tonight. We got number six Tennessee
against number eleven Georgia later today.

All right, guys, we've got a great show for you today.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
We have a Bill's Team reporter Maddy Glab joining us
in about thirty minutes to break down that big matchup,
the one I think I'm most looking forward to this weekend.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Sorry, Tracy.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Tracy is the forty nine Ers beat reporter, so obviously
forty nine Ers football is a big one for you.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
It is, but that I wouldn't say it's the matchup.
I agree that the matter if you're looking forward to.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Here we go a matchup of the Bills and Chief.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Then we have NFL Networks Bridget Condon joining us an
hour two. We've got producer Patrick with us today, Technical
producer Chris Prefet. Martin Wise at the news desk rocking
my favorite shirt everybody watching women's sports, So hats off
to you today.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
And to Dodger Hat and Dodger Hat's actually yeah, Chef's kiss.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
You're doing great, Martin and will keep you updated. Martin's
going to keep you.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Updated on all the college football action as it goes
down today. But we're gonna start in the NFL with
a fun little segment called the Good, the Bad, the.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Weird, and the rad I love it.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
And we're gonna start in the NFC, and as always,
I like to start on a good note, so we're
gonna start with the good. And the good right now
are the forty nine ers. They are almost back to
full strength after getting Christian McCaffrey back last week.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
You look good they did. They eased him in for him.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I mean, yeah, thirteen carries for thirty nine yards, six
catches for sixty eight yards, but he had over one
hundred scrimmage yards in his first game back. And when
you think about it, he didn't have a preseason, No,
he did not. And he started practicing just a couple
of weeks ago, and before that he hadn't practiced for
all almost two months. And you know, heading into the season,
the forty nine ers were favored in every game.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Yes this year, yes they were.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
And obviously they were plagued by injuries and this year
has not gone as planned so far. That's but the
good news is the NFC West is so close and
all within a.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Couple games and everything's winnable.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
So take us into the in the locker room and
the day to day vibe around this.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Team, because it feels like Okay, we had.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
We made it through like the hardest part of losing
all of our main guys and now they're on the
up and up and it's starting to feel good.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
It definitely is, And having Christian McCaffrey back was definitely
a huge boose for the team. For the offense, all
of the things they're still missing, such a key piece
in Drake Greenlaw on defense, and it's affecting them for
tomorrow's game. George Kittle, Trent Williams, and Nick Bosa are
all questionable to play.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Ohs okay, so they're not.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Dealing with hurty close.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
They're not there yet.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
And this is the thing with the NFL, because it's
like as soon as you're like, oh, we're getting our
guys back, yeah, then you have other guys.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
So we'll see.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
I mean, I would imagine those three guys if they
can play, ye, they will absolutely play. They were just
so lucky last year with the injury bug. But it
is definitely a boost to have Christian back. There is
no doubt about it. You see the difference he makes
on the field. Just his presence makes a huge difference
on the field. But they're going into a tough stretch.
They have the Seatocks at home tomorrow, then at Green

(05:35):
Bay at Buffalo, and then at home against the Bears, So.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Which look right now, that's looking like it should be
an easy one. But who knows, Like maybe Caleb like
figures it out by then They're kind of a dumpster
fire over there.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
In Chicago right now. But anything can happen in a month.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Anything can.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
And then four days later Thursday Night Football against the Rams,
who they should have beaten and already had not been.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
So it's a tough stretch they have ahead of them.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
That being said Kyle Shanahan Tea, Yeah, they play very
well in November and December. As you said, this division
is very close. It's extremely winnable, like so.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
One to two games to like move up top to
bottom for everybody.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
But they can't lose any more division games.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Oh no, they can't. So they have to win against Seattle.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
They have to win against Seattle.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
They got to beat the Rims in like a month,
and then they have to beat the Cardinals to end
the season. I mean, that's what's crazy about that game
is it's the last their last game of the season
and it could be for the division. Yeah, which no
one thought that going to the season.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
No, absolutely not.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
So you think McCaffrey can save the Niner season solely
on kind of the vibe and the energy that he
brings to the team.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
I do not think he can save the season. I
think he can. He helps dramatically. I do think that
he helps dramatically, But I think that the issues they're
dealing with go beyond McCaffrey.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
So, I like, injury wise, or is there like vibe
is shy.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
I think injury wise and just playing wise, I mean
execution wise, they're having trouble finishing games.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
They play really.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Well for three quarters and fortunately it's a four quarter situation. Huh,
it was a three If this was hockey killing, it done,
going to the supermot, you're going to Stanley Cup winners.
But I think those are kind of issues, you know,
execution on offense, having trouble defending I'm sorry, execution on defense,
having trouble defending the run. Christian Well makes a huge
difference on offense, but there are just other issues. So

(07:24):
I don't think he can save it, but I think
he can do a heck of a lot to help it.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
That's fair.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
I mean, they got away with the win last week
against the Bucks. It was a little closer than everyone expected.
And this leads into my weird moment. Yes, and that
was Deebo's argument with his teammate after missing three field goals.
So take us like what happened, Like, what was the
conversation after the game? What Obviously there was frustration, cause

(07:50):
like that could have been the game mm hmm, and it.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
Was he ended up and he ended up Jake we'd
end up kicking the game winning field golf y.

Speaker 6 (07:58):
You know.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
The conversation after the game, per Debo at everyone was
that he was basically kind of firing Jake up lock
in and that Tabor Pepper didn't feel like that's what
he was saying, so he stepped in and then four
Deebo pushed him, which he definitely should not have done,
and then pushing him, he kind of hit Jake, which
was not intentional.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
The thing with it.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Is just dramatic.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
It was, it was very dramatic. And then Jake Mudy
goes out kicks the game winning field goal. Yeah, that
was very exciting for them and go blue, But it
just it is weird. Yeah, I think generally when players
start fighting on the sideline with themselves and each.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Other do that behind closed doors, like you's a bit
in the locker room.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
And it's a little different than Kyle Shanahan likened it too.
If he's going up to an offensive player being like, okay,
lock in, you got this whatever, it's a little different
with a kicker. And the other thing is you can't
like Jake didn't want to miss the field goals. It's
all like And the other thing is my saying it.
It is one hundred percent shake news responsibility to make

(09:02):
those field goals. There's no reason what you're getting paid for,
what is what he is age job, no reason you
should miss them. That being said this foran Air's team
has so much troubles in the red zone.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
The field goals were fifty yard field goals forty.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Nine and forty four. So it's not even like I'm
not saying he shouldn't make them. He absolutely should. But
that speaks to the red zone issues and the issues
they're still having on offense. Because if I were them
and I know they would have it this, it'd be like,
then score a touchdown, Yeah, I don't have to.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Get the field goal.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
I mean, Deebo's had one touchdown this season, so I'm
not taking anything away from his talent all of that.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
I'm just saying it's not it's not a good look.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
And I don't think Debo was coming over to be
like what is wrong with you?

Speaker 4 (09:45):
But kickers are different. It's just a different the energy.
You're in your own world.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
You're not like, it's not like a team.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I mean, obviously, if like the hole isn't right, in
the snap isn't right, then it's like not your fault.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
But everything else it's all on you. It is, it's
all you, all on you. An Jiguity was coming back
from an ankle injury. He had not played three games
four weeks.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Yeah he was, but it was a lot.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
All's well, that ends well.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
However, I don't think it's great for them to start
happening on the sideline.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
So it was weird.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
It was weird, and it also like it's been a
frustrating year, and when it's been a frustrating year, unfortunately
that kind of like spewze out into the game.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
It does, and that's what we saw.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Yes, they got away with the win, so let's move
on to the rad And if you're just tuning in
we're doing a segment called the Good, the Bad, the Weird,
and the rad and we are now on the rad
and I think the Eagles seguon Barkley is looking like
the best addition they could have made to their team.
And that's rad is. He is over a thousand rushing yards.

(10:49):
He's first in rushing yards.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Great, well, he hasn't even played yet. Weekly Oh yes
he did? You have it? A thousand rushing yards.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Oh my gosh, yeah, no, tied for third in rushing touchdown.
I have them as my MVP favorite right now. It's
kind of obviously not connecting him and Henry, but they've
played the same amount of games, so.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I don't think they've had their buy it. It's something.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
It's something like that, where like they have the same
amount of games. He is first in rushing yards. They
both have over a thousand rushing yards, I think. But
it's just after the win Thursday night, huge win over
the Commanders, it's looking like the Eagles are back after
that weird year.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
Last year they would have been in the weird.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
They would have been in the weird.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
They're currently on a six game win streak and they
can take the NFC East. I mean it's kind of
been between them and the Commanders. I had them before
the season started, winning the NFC East with the Commanders
as like kind of my keep an eye on.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
They're going to be really good and it could go
either way. But the the NFC in general right now,
between the Lions eight and one, Eagles eight and two,
Viking seven to two, Commanders seven and four, the fight
for the top is going to be a fun race.
It is.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
It is going to be a very fund race. And
you know, going back to the forty nine ers, they've
dug themselves and a hold there. He did that race
are there? And I don't think they picked.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Them at the Super Bowl, So jokes on me, I
think jokes on everybody.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
They were favored in every game.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
It's here and things and and things happened.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
But back to the Eagles, I don't know how the
Giants let this happen.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
How they let's take one go to the ORF.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
They wanted, he wanted to be in New York for life,
and they how do you not have enough money to
pay your best player?

Speaker 5 (12:27):
And then they let them back to their division rival,
which is It's just it's mind boggling le's kiss to me.
But the Eagles definitely look legit.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Yeah, they look like they're back.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
Whatever issues they had, and they had plenty of weird
last year.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Oh yeah eighteen and herts had like there was like
rumors they were having issues like communication getting along wise, But.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
They look good there.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Yeah, it looks like they're back. And that's rad.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
That's rad.

Speaker 5 (12:55):
And something tells me that one of the people sitting
here is going to have to go to Philadelphia in January.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
To cover a playoff game.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
And I love that. Now we're going to move to
the bad you guys, dub Bears.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
The bad News Bears, the bad News, Yes.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Even better. They fired their OC this week.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
And I think the hard part about this whole situation
is there was so much hype around Caleb Williams that
he was a generational talent, that he was going to
save the franchise. But he's looking like a rookie and
that's normal for young quarterbacks. Obviously, we've seen the outliers
the last few seasons with c J. Stroud and Jade
and Daniels this year, but Caleb doesn't have great protection

(13:37):
from his O line. He's taking an NFL wors thirty
eight sacks, so that means not protection. But he's also
holding onto the ball for too long, which was one
of his strengths in college. He could run around figure
out what play you wanted to make. However, that's not
translating the same to the NFL.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Guys are faster, guys are stronger, They're getting to you.
You gotta like, ah, you gotta let it go. Like
he is on pace to finish the season with seventy
two sacks, that would be the second most all time
for a rookie all time. Like, it's just it's just painful.

(14:15):
I feel sad for him.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
It is painful, and I think in fairness to him,
and maybe this is me being overlays. As you mentioned,
he has like no protection. I think we see Jaden
Daniels thriving, and that is very much Jaden Daniels. But
Jaden Daniels also has pieces around him to help him thrive.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
And this is what the Bears.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
They did this with Justin Fields and now they're doing
with Kayleb Williams.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
You get these.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
Quote unquote generational quarterbacks and then you throw them in
there like, well, we're not getting anything else though, so
good luck and I think that's kind of what we're seeing.
And he is a rookie, yeah, and rookies are good.
They call him rookie mistakes for a reason, and he
is gonna make mistakes. But I think, you know, it's
interesting because I remember being on the show with Carmen

(15:00):
the summer talking about it, and I was like, I
don't know about Jane Daniels.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
He seems like kind of small.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
I just I'm not I'm not sold, and I'm now
very sold on John Daniels.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
And I don't know with Kayleb Williams. But they need
to help him.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
I mean, he needs help.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
He needs help, honestly, though, I like it's he's gonna
have a completely different coaching staff next year. Yes, yeah,
so he's going to be starting from fresh He's just
got to make it through healthy, Yes, make it through healthy.
Through this season. It's gonna be brutal, and already has
been brutal. It's yeah. I mean, there were rumors that
they were discussing benching him after nine games. I guess
that was coming from the veterans requesting to kind of

(15:36):
give him a moment, But then Caleb said he feels
backed by his teammates. It just it's all weird vibes,
and honestly, I'm not sure what a mid season OC
change is going to do to help Caleb.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
It's not really going to do anything.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
And I don't think benching it is going to help
them unless you are fearful for his safety because he's
getting sack of many times. Benching him is just gonna
further mess with his confidence.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Who who's their backup quarterback?

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Dude?

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Who is their backup?

Speaker 4 (15:59):
I mean I think what I Tyson Invasion?

Speaker 3 (16:01):
I think Tyson Beasion.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Of course obviously that says it all.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
So if you bench him for mister Beajian, who I
have the utmost respect for, especially since I just learned
he existed. But I just I think if you bench
him for Tyson Beasion, like what is that going to
do for the team?

Speaker 3 (16:19):
But you don't know.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
I mean, I guess in fairness of Tyson since he
may come out and just be game guster, game busters.
But yeah, there are so many issues around there, and
you got it, just like we're talking about with kickers,
young quarterbacks, you gotta be careful with and the confidence.
So you bench him now that it becomes I don't know.
It's tough, it's a mess.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
I'm just gonna sprinkle one more bad on this because
you know we can't leave them out.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
The Cowboys, Oh God, so bad.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Dak is officially out for the season, having surgery on
his hamstring. It's a three month recovery, but he's choosing
the best long term option. Duh, because let's be honest, Cowboys,
your season is over. We even saw Dak on the
sideline saying to his teammates during the game against Falcons.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
We.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
And yeah, it's just a little bit of a dumpster
fire over there. So that was the good, the bad,
and weird and the rat for the NFC. We'll get
to the AFC next hour. We're gonna take a quick
break here, but when we come back, it was fight
night in Dallas, but Mike Tyson and Jake Paul were
not the highlights. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Welcome back to Fox Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here
with Tracy Sandler. We are broadcasting live from the tark
dot Com Studios in Los Angeles. Thank you for spending
your Saturday afternoon with us. You guys, what a fight
night we got in Dallas last night. Mike Tyson versus

(17:51):
Jake Paul was supposed to be the highlight. But I mean,
everything about that matchup was so unhinged, starting with the
way and slap to Mike Tyson's pre fight interview where
he thanked the reporter and then kissed the reporter and
then turned around and gave us like full.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Booty cheeks like it was.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
It was so unhinged. I mean to the thirty one
year age gap. Okay, that makes a lot more sense.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Oh it was it was his son.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Okay, that makes so much more sense. Thank you for that.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
That makes me feel better.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
That makes so much There was so many things about that. Okay,
let's let's roll it back here. The thirty one year
age difference. Yes, it was so hard to watch. It
felt like an out of shaped dad fighting a superfit son. Honestly,

(18:50):
I'm just happy we didn't see Mike Tyson get knocked
out like he's still and will always be a legend
yesh and like that that's the part that I'm just like,
I swear I was holding my breath the entire time,
just like, come on, no, don't what happened?

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Come on?

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Honestly, though, now that like I know that was his
son interviewing him, I think the highlight of the night
was that pre fight interview where he kissed his son
on the cheek and then turned around and gave us
full booty cheeks.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
It was completely unhinged. But like.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Broke the Internet, they broke Netflix last night. I literally
the biggest fight was between the connection between Netflix and
their connection. Yes, that was the hardest thing, but so
many other things happened, and the first two fights were incredible.
The Ramos first Barrios fight ending in a draw, the
respect that they had for each other, like they went
the distance and it was so cool. The Tailor Serrano

(19:47):
fight also went the distance. It was so impressive. Honestly,
I think Sarana got robbed. She landed more punches, fought
through her eyebrow, basically like falling off. Hard to watch.
The whole fight was legendary though for women's boxing, and
it delivered so like hand like just like Bravo and

(20:09):
applause for that. But back to the main event for
a moment with Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Oh, actually, may I say, yeah, I was gonna say
one thing about I think the main event was you know,
probably like you know, for entertainment and all of the things,
but it brought such attention to the first two fights
and for women's boxing, and so I see and that
becomes that really I'm gonna I'm gonna spin this and
say that's what.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
It was really about.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
It was, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
That's a positive.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
The two fights before were absolutely incredible.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
They delivered, They went the distance.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
These four fighters just gave everything that they had to
a sold out Jerry world.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
But he keeps coming back to Dallas.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Yeah, disasters in Dallas Stadium. Gosh, But you know what,
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul they got everyone to watch.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
They did and that was that's the whole point of this.
You know, they broke netflix. Wasn't a good fight, absolutely not.
It was a little hard to watch, but the respect
was there. Yes, Mike Tyson is a legend, and Jake
Paul had that respect for Mike Tyson. Even like after
the fight, he was asked did you take your foot
off the gas? And he said a little bit because
they didn't want to hurt someone that didn't need to be.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
Hurt, which appreciate that. That's fair.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Yeah, it was just tough.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
I I would say another win of the night were
all the memes. Those were so top notch, and both
Tyson and Jake Paul made comments gotta like hinting for
like maybe their next fights. Tyson tried to say he
wanted to fight his brother Logan Paul. That's not gonna happen.
It would be a mess. Tyson, Please don't do that. Yeah,

(21:49):
don't just don't do that because he would not have
the respect that that would be a full knockout. That
would just know. And then Jake Paul was asked about
Canelo and he's like, nope, he needs me if he
wants the payday.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
He knows where the money man is. This man is
so confident. But it's true. I mean they pulled in millions.
Do we know what the ratings.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Were for that fight, because I think it was I
heard people say up like in the thirty seven millions,
like maybe even more, like it was just absolutely insane.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
They it did what it was supposed to do.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
Yeah, they and kudos and hats off to everybody who
made that happen because everybody was watching it, everybody was
talking about it.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
Everybody's still talking about it.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Yeah, it was trending across all social media platforms.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
And Netflix got to practice doing a live sporting event
before the Christmas Day NFL game, and I think that
it's probably not a bad thing either.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
And we got lucky. Our our like feed only froze
once and it was like right before Tyson was walking out. Okay,
but yeah, there was some audio issues, some technical issues
where it looked like you were watching a nineties broadcast
opposed to an HD completely clear broadcast. So yeah, for

(23:02):
everyone's sake, I mean, but this is I don't think
there's going to be what is there gonna be more
than like thirty seven million?

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Maybe because it's Christmas Day.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
Like Christmas Day that those are big games, Yeah, but
this might it might be different because I think this
was international, international.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
It was the entertainment value.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
But I think the Christmas Day football games they did
really well last year, so it'll be interesting to see this.
But I do think it was a good test for them,
and it gives them some time to kind of figure
out if it is thirty seven million?

Speaker 4 (23:32):
Is everybody gonna be able to stud Oh.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
You're gonna figure it out, all right. Now, let's check
it out with Martin Wise and see what's trunning.

Speaker 7 (23:39):
It says last year here the average audience for the
chief Raiders matchup. Yeah, the last time the Chiefs loss.
Actually twenty nine point two million all Christmas Day lash.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Okay, so close. Still a lot that can crash a site.

Speaker 8 (23:53):
Apparently, Yeah, apparently insane.

Speaker 7 (23:56):
Right now, Alabama with a sensibly a bye, playing Mercer
all due respect thirty eight to seven, and starting the
fourth quarter there subs in for the Crimson tied tenth
for eight team in the nation per a tense state,
the fourth Raine team with a fourteen to nothing lead
over per Due. Perdue is driving the fourth and goal
on the Penn State five yard line. We'll see what
they do there. Nine minutes left in the second quarter.

(24:18):
Ten to fifteen left in the second quarter between Notre
Dame and Virginia, the eighth rate fighting Irish with a
seven and nothing lead over to the Cavaliers Number fourteenth
rainth SMU with a ten to nothing lead over Boston
College two twelve minutes left in the second quarter. Ten
minutes left in the second quarter between the Stanford Cardinal
and the Louisville Cardinals. Louisville with nineteenth ranked team in

(24:40):
the nation, trailing Stanford by three. Stanford with going two
wins on the year, love and thirty six left in
the second quarter for LSU and Florida. The Tigers Trailer
Indigators seven and nothing lsh to the twenty two rainth
team in the nation.

Speaker 9 (24:52):
Results from earlier.

Speaker 7 (24:53):
Today, Ohio State beat Northwestern thirty one to seven. Quin
John Judkins had two rushing touchdowns. Cardinal Tate two touchdown catches.
Texas beat Arkansas twenty to ten. Quinn Ewys had two
touchdown passes to Matthew Golden Jaquindon Jackson with the rushing
touchdown for the Razorbacks. Colorado beat Utah forty nine to
twenty four. Shador Sanders with a few touchdown passes there,

(25:14):
Colorado returned to pump for a touchdown. Travis Hunter had
a rushing touchdown and an interception and fifty five yards receiving,
so all over the place, per usual for the Heisman favorite.
Clemson hold on to beat Pittsburgh twenty four to twenty
and two lane beating Evy thirty five to nothing. Missouri
quarterback expected to be a game time decision. Let's see
out there right now, he was a game time decision.

(25:35):
He did start three for four so far. He was
a true game time decision. Philip felt good enough through
warm ups to go ahead and go out there.

Speaker 9 (25:42):
Missouri right now.

Speaker 7 (25:43):
Leading South Carolina three to nothing, eight minutes left in
the first quarter. Patriots are activating Christian Barmore, defensive lineman
from the non football illness list.

Speaker 9 (25:54):
He should play on Sunday.

Speaker 7 (25:55):
Taekwon Thornton Patriots receival were at least he was a
second second round pick. The Browns elevated Kadarius Tony from
the practice squad for tomorrow's game against the Saints, and
Michael Mayer activated from the reserve non football illness list
for I'm sorry non foot reserve list for the Raiders
prior to tomorrow's game as well. And Kurt Signetti, you
can't win today because i Indiana's wanna buy. But I'm

(26:18):
sure today he'll remember as he signs an eight year
contract extension only ten games in to his Indiana career
so far.

Speaker 9 (26:25):
But when you start out ten and zero, I guess
that can get.

Speaker 7 (26:27):
You an average eight million annually with an additional one
million dollar retention bonus each year. That contract runs through
twenty thirty two. Alex Tracy back to y'all today.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
You gotta feel good about that.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Also, like I love a little shout out in between
commercial breaks, Martin came in here. I feel like I'm surrounded.
My entire life is surrounded by Michigan House.

Speaker 9 (26:49):
Lucky, surrounded by good people, sir.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Every one of my agents has gone to Michigan, Michigan, Michigan.
I will say it was one of my favorite games
I ever went and covered. I went to the Big
House for Michigan Michigan State for Tailgate forty on Big
ten Network, and it was just like.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Insane. There's there's not much that compares to it.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
No, it's the best it is. If you're a college
football fan, you got to get to the Big House
at least once. It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Yeah, there so much. Are we doing okay this year though?

Speaker 4 (27:22):
Because we won the Natty? Yes? Okay, I think yes,
Winning the Natty helps.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Okay, All right, guys, you're listening to Fox Football Saturday.
I'm Alex Curry here with Tracy Sandler. We are broadcasting
live from the Tara dot Com studios in Los Angeles.
Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. It
is time for our first guest, Bill's Team reporter Maddy
glad Thanks for joining the show.

Speaker 6 (27:45):
Happy to be on, Yes, we love it.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Okay, we've got a huge matchup tomorrow for the Bills
and the Chiefs. Buffalo is three and one against the
Chiefs in the regular season during the Josh Allen era,
but obviously don't have that same success during the postseason.
So what's the mentality and the conversation in the locker room?
What's it been like this week?

Speaker 10 (28:08):
Yeah, the mentality has been interesting for this team because
for the Bills, this is a team that they have beaten,
like you said, in the last three years in a
row in the regular season. And while those wins are
great and you need them because you're fighting for a
home playoff spot, you're fighting to win your division, you're

(28:28):
fighting to be the number one seed. What matters most
when you get to the playoffs, and the Bills have
quite a bit in the Josh Allen era. Is winning games,
and they've struggled against the Kansas City Chiefs and the playoffs.
So for this team, it's a sense of this game
is really important if we want a chance at the
one seed. This is an opportunity to have a better

(28:52):
chance if we get out of this game with a win.
But when you talk to a quarterback like Josh Allender,
players on a roster who have been on this team
for a few years, it's like, great, we've beat them
in the regular season, but what really matters is the playoffs.
And you can't dismiss the regular season because that's how
you get to the playoff, but the playoffs just hold

(29:13):
such a higher regard and I think that's really what's
been in the way for this team is you've got
to get past the Chiefs in the playoffs, and they
just haven't done that in the Josh Allen era.

Speaker 5 (29:23):
So Maddie with that in mind, and I find this
when I'm covering the Niners and there's a big team
coming up, someone that they've they've had trouble with. Yes,
they do need to win in the playoffs, but does
it feel like it is a little bit more just
because inserting that dominance I mean, in fairness them, a
lot of teams have had trouble against the Chiefs in
the playoffs. But I wonder if it just means a

(29:44):
little bit more and you, like you said, the one
seed and.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
Give you the Chiefs their first loss.

Speaker 5 (29:48):
I mean that's I feel like that's a big thing
too for this team in this weekend.

Speaker 10 (29:52):
Yeah, one hundred percent. And for it to be in
Buffalo too, I mean, you get that home field advantage.
I think that's going to help this team as well.
The Bills have not played the Chiefs in the regular
season at homes in the John Allen era. They played
them at homes are in COVID, but there weren't fans
in the stands, so I feel like you can't really

(30:12):
count that. So everybody's been joking all week like, finally
we get the Chiefs in Orchard Park, like they've been
out at Arrowhead the last two years, playing against them
in the regular season at least, So I think that
helps this team out. But yeah, I mean, you look
at it from the standpoint of the Chiefs are undefeated,
They're nine to zero. They're in the driver's seat in
the AfD conversation. The Bills are first in the afdast

(30:36):
but they really want to be in first place in
the AFC, and how does that happen. You have to
beat the Chiefs. If you don't beat the Chiefs, it's
going to be really hard to be in the driver's seat.
So this is for Buffalo if they want to have
that number one seed. This is a must win game
for them.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
So what is going to be the key for the
Bills to hand the Chiefs their first loss of the season.

Speaker 10 (30:58):
It's this chief team. It's so interesting this season.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Right.

Speaker 10 (31:01):
It's been their defense again this season, and it's been
the way that defensive coordinator Steve.

Speaker 6 (31:07):
Spagnolo draws things up.

Speaker 10 (31:09):
He confuses the look of things, he muddies the coverage
for opposing offenses. It's the defensive front, it's Chris Jones,
it's their linebacking Cord even on the back end. They
have a lot of talent too, So beating them on
defense has to be strategic. You have to be really
careful with what you're calling. They blitz teams at the

(31:30):
third highest rate. Their run defense is top three, and
so I think offensively for Buffalo, this game is going
to be on Josh Allen. I think if they have
difficulty running the football. I think this is going to
be a game where you see Alan use his legs
a lot to get out of the blitz, to get
out of the pocket, and find answers down the field.

Speaker 6 (31:52):
So I think this is a game where.

Speaker 10 (31:54):
We're going to see Josh Allen put that Superman cap
on and go, because that's how you're going to beat
this team defensively. And then for Buffalo defensively, it's about
stopping Patrick Mahomes and Kareem Hunt, who's been a huge
part of the lineup In the last few weeks. He's
averaging like twenty three and a half touches per game,
which is a huge number. And then DeAndre Hopkins has

(32:17):
really helped Mahomes' efficiency since he's been a part of
the roster. The Tiefs are the best third down offense
in the NFL, and so I think that's really where
it starts for Buffalo's defense. You got to get this
team off the field on third down. The Chiefs offense
has been incredible about just having success on first and

(32:38):
second down and then getting to third down and it's
third and short and it's an easy run play, or
it's an easy jump off past, so it's been very
easy for them to convert on third downs. So I
think you have to be also defensively really efficient on
first and second down and get them into those third
and long scenarios so that you take away one part
of their offense and make them have to win in

(33:01):
only a few ways when it comes to third down scenarios.
So that's where I kind of look on both sides
of the ball.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
Well for the Buffalo's offense and Josh Allen putting on
that Superman cap, how hard is it going to be
without Dalton kid Cad.

Speaker 10 (33:17):
I think it's going to be harder for sure, because
the chief defense. One of the areas where they're allowing
things to happen for an offense is they rank middle
of the pack in terms of what they're allowing passing
yards per game. If you look at tight ends, it's
even worse. They allow a lot of yards to tight ends.
It's the second most in the NFL. So without Dalton

(33:38):
and Kaid who's out due to a knee injury, I
think that changes things a little bit. They do have
their tight end Dawson Knox, and he had a really
great game last week against the Colts. So I think
this is a nice second game to row for him
where he is going to be a big part of
the offense. But I wonder if it's going to factor
into their usage of twelve personnel, because I think you

(33:59):
can you can have more success against the Kansa City
Chiefs defense when you're in twelve personnel, just based on
how tough they are to beat up front. So I
look at you have to run a little bit heavier
on offense. So it'll be interesting to see if they
use twelve personnel like they were planning to with the
dol Kin k now that they don't have Kinkaid. I

(34:20):
wonder how that'll change things. But yes, I do think
it's going to make life harder for them on offense.
Wide receiver Amari Cooper, who is questionable for this game
with a risk injury, he should be good to go.
He spoke to reporters yesterday and said that he's planning
to play. He's missed the last two weeks, so I
think it's huge if Cooper is able to go for

(34:42):
this game. I think that's a big win for Buffalo
because they're out Kincaid and then you don't have the
rookie wide receiver in Keon Coleman either.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
All right, Maddie, thank you so much for joining us,
great information and insight.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Can't wait to watch that game tomorrow.

Speaker 10 (34:57):
Yes, it's going to be a great one. The whole
nation gets to see it.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah, have a great day and great game tomorrow, Maddie.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Thanks ladies ours All right, guys.

Speaker 2 (35:07):

is my pump up song. You're listening to Fox Football Saturday.
I'm Alex Curry here at Tracy Sandler. We are broadcasting
live from the Tark dot com studios in Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. It
is time, you, guys, for the dues and the donts
in sports.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Highlighting the dues. I love that putting a spotlight on
the don't.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
The subject brings me no joy. That's insane.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
It's time for the dues and the dots in sports.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Okay, I'm gonna start with the duke. Do give it
all for whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
The Pittsburgh Pirates are making a wild offer you guys,
for a one of a kind Paul Skeen's MLB debut card.
So there's only one, and it's going to be in
a random chops box, and whoever finds the car and
wants to give it to the Pirates, They're going to
give you two Pirates season tickets behind home plate for
the next thirty years.

Speaker 11 (36:21):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
A softball game for thirty of your friends at PNC Park,
plus coaching from the Pirates alumni, a spring training experience
like no Weather.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
You get a private tour.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Of facility, meet and greet with Paul Skeens, two Paul
Skins autograph jerseys, you could have batting practice and warm
up with the team, and a handful of other.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Like unique experiences.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
This sounds amazing.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Oh yeah, I mean if Paul Skian's like uh tands
out to how great of a player he's supposed to be,
the card could be worth mills as a one of
a kind MLB debut card.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
Or but again, if you are a Pirates fan and
you find that card, that's a pretty unbelievable whole experience,
like right behind home plate season tickets for thirty years.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
Yeah, what would you pick? Well, I don't live there,
so well no, okay, that's pretend you get. Yeah, I'm like, yeah,
you pick that over keeping it?

Speaker 5 (37:15):
I mean you never know, you never know, You're right,
I think, Yeah, that's a ugly, but wow, that's amazing.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Yeah, I don't know. We have like one signed card.
It's a Patrick.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Mahomes, Travis Kelsey and Tyree Hill and it's all three
of them and it's signed.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
So we don't know. I don't know. I haven't even
like explored the market yet, Like is it worth? I
don't know. We got to figure that out. I've been
talking about it for a long time.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
You should do figure that Outah, do figure that out.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
Yes, I will, all right, trace what you got.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
I gotta do.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
And it's kind of a silly one, but do have fun.
I think the the cambinaen celebration dances, yeah, have been
so much fun. The thought that's been put into them,
the practice, the execution. And he's still playing at a
high levels, not like they're just focusing on his dances.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Yeah, I just.

Speaker 5 (37:59):
Think, do you have fun? NFL careers are not long?
Y'all out there enjoy yourself. I think it gives cambaraderie
room among the team.

Speaker 4 (38:08):
I'm into it.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
I love it might watching them.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
Who does the headstand where he's literally just balancing on
his head.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
I think that's it. Is that one of the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
It's mind blowing. It's insane. Okay, I'm gonna do another
do do meme?

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Hard look.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
After the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight memes went off,
a couple of my favorite the real fight tonight was
against Netflix Connection and then there's another one of Mike
Tyson sleeping peacefully after securing the bag and making everybody
think it was going to be the craziest five of
the year. And it's the hangover scene where he's sleeping
and all the guys are behind him, and then Jake

(38:47):
Paul is not welcomed in and out.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
For elder abuse. And that's all I kind of guess saying.
Last night I was watching it like a feel this
feels like elder abuse. This is hard, this is hard
to watch. Okay, you got another one.

Speaker 4 (38:59):
I have a dome. Okay, I'm going to go back
to something we talked about earlier. Don't get in fights
with your teammates on the sideline.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Don't do it.

Speaker 5 (39:05):
Just don't do it. Doesn't matter what is going on,
because inevitably, even if it wasn't that big a deal,
it now becomes a big deal.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
It's a big deal.

Speaker 5 (39:13):
And because it happened on the sideline, and I think
I think those things can curreate throughout a season.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
Oh for sure.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
All right, do give credit where credit is due. The
Montclair State Women's basketball support Stuff website photos added Charlie
Cunningham Jones, a Golden Retriever as a director of Paw
Positivity And it's the cutest thing ever. I love that
all these therapy dogs are like now making their way

(39:43):
because the US women's gymnastics team also had one for
like happiness. And I'm gonna tell you, with two dogs,
I call them my therapy dog.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
I hold them and hug them and they work overtime
and it's like the amount of happiness and like it
just alleviates.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
All anxiety and stress.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
I love it, and I love that all these sports
are now leaning into it because it really does help.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
It helps so much. I love it.

Speaker 5 (40:11):
And if Pete herb Street was with Kirk curb Street,
Ben's brother was with Kirk Curve Street.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
Today and I know that was great.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
All right, guys when we come back the cool, the good,
the bad, the we'd the rad for the AFC. Welcome
to our two of Fox Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry
here with Tracy Sandler who's in for Carmen. Thank you

give a couple shout.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
Outs to start hour two.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Happy birthday to my dad, Papa Curry, who turns seventy today.
We just got back from celebrating in Kawhi all week,
so it was wild, all twelve Curry's sisters, partners, babies
like it was. It was wild. And Happy birthday to Peggy,
Colorado's number one fan, who turned one hundred today. They

(40:57):
just posted a video of the entire stadium singing Happy
birthday to her as she's standing with Coach Prime, tears
coming down her face, Like I just love how much
Coach Prime has made her a part of the team,
almost like a mascot for this Colorado team since he's
been a part of the program, and it's just you
can tell not only how much it means to her,

(41:20):
but the fans and the team because she really is
that number one fan.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
It's really really sweet.

Speaker 5 (41:27):
Coach Prime, He's done so many good things there, but
this is this is really special and really sweet and
it does it. It kind of brings everybody together in
a different way.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
Yeah, no, Coach Prime knows what he's doing.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
He is.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
I think they were calling him the first Family of
college football right now. He has his new show that's
gonna be airing on tub I think this Tuesday. We
heard this week that you know, Yeah, when his sons
enter the draft, he's gonna if they don't end up
with a good franchise. Behind the scenes, not publicly, he's

(41:57):
gonna make sure that they don't go to that team.
We've seen that in the past with a lot of
big name quarterbacks, so that's going to be very interesting.
But AnyWho, shout out to him for making just this
back half of Peggy's life incredible. Turning one hundred today
with the whole stadium saying your happy birthday, we are
broadcasting live from the Tire Dot com Studios tirerac dot com.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
She's going to be covering the Bengal Chargers game. It's
a big game.

Speaker 2 (43:02):
Tomorrow, another like fun one, so I'm excited to get
her take on all of that. But now we're gonna
do the second half of our the good, the Bad,
the weird, and the rad But now it's the AFC's turn,
and once again we're gonna start with the good.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
And the good are the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
They are officially first in the AFC North and I
love this because they were my team to watch, like
preseason team to watch because of the quarterback situation they
had going on, and no one really knew what to
expect from either of these guys. But Justin Fields got
this start. The first six games went four and two.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
He did enough to keep them really in the race
and to be able to be first in a division.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
Where I think most people thought it was gonna be
the Ravens of the Bengals. And then Russell Wilson having
a little comeback. He's won the three games he's played in.
People Rodolph Russ in Denver said he was washed full transparency.
I was one of those people that didn't fully believe
in him once he came to the Steelers. But I
love a comeback story, so prove me wrong, like, please,

(44:12):
please prove me wrong. But the other big stories are defense.
They have been top notch, second in points allowed per game,
eighth in yards allowed per.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
Game, and T J.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
Watt currently the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year.
So like, I had them as like a team to
keep an eye on, but trace did you expect them
to have this kind of a season.

Speaker 5 (44:32):
My only concern with them was the idea that if
you have two quarterbacks, you have neal quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (44:38):
You and Carmen say the same thing. I'm like, nah, man,
this is competition. It's gonna motivate you to be better
and want to take that spot.

Speaker 4 (44:47):
And I think it did.

Speaker 5 (44:48):
And I think that's and I think Russell Wilson, to
his credit, has found somewhat of a different way to
play quarterback. Yeah, he's not the Russell Wilson of ten
years ago, and he's fighting a different way. And I
think Mike Tomlin is a heck of a coach. So
did I think the Steelers would be good?

Speaker 3 (45:04):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (45:05):
Did I think it would be like this? I did,
not just because of quarterback, but good for them. They're
fun and to meet Steelers when you think of like
the NFL, I think of the Steelers.

Speaker 3 (45:15):
Oh yeah, no, no, no, They're.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
Like and that would be cool.

Speaker 5 (45:18):
And that AFC North is that's a tough division, no
matter how the Bengals are playing right now, it is
a tough division.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
So even the Browns were great at one point.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
I mean, I thought Steelers were going to be bottom
of Like I think a lot of people thought they
were gonna be bottom of the Division.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
It was going to be a tough.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
Battle to I didn't think they'd be able to make
make the postseason. I mean between Lamar and Burrow and
I mean, Brown's a whole other situation. But the Steelers,
like again, you can't count out Mike Tomlin. It never
came future Hall of Fame coach, an elite organization that

(45:53):
just knows how to play good football. And he doesn't
have losing seasons.

Speaker 4 (45:58):
No, he does not.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
He does not, So oh, I just that is the good.
But their matchup this weekend leads us to the weird,
and that's the ravens Lamar Jackson, who is one in
three against the Steelers, and that's kind of weird considering
Lamar is seventeen and five against the other AFC North teams.

Speaker 3 (46:17):
Very weird.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
Bengals, yeah, and Browns. Pittsburgh is the only team that
he's thrown more interceptions than touchdown passes. Who has seven
interceptions and four touchdown passes. It's I guess you got
to hand it to Mike Tomlin and his defense.

Speaker 3 (46:33):
He's a defensive coach.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
And Lamar even said he doesn't understand why he has
these numbers. Like last year they were supposed to beat them,
but things didn't work out the way. The football gods
weren't on their side. But it's a new year, a
new game. He's looking forward to it, and even coach
Jim Harbaugh said, we didn't.

Speaker 3 (46:51):
We don't live in the past. You're living in the past, man.
None of it matters. It's the next game. Yeah, it's
it's weird that Lamar cannot get over the Steelers. Humh.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
But the good news for the Ravens is after starting
zero to two, they've won seven of their last eight games.
Lamar's having another MVP caliber season. He's currently the MVP fave.
So it's funny, this one's a toss.

Speaker 3 (47:19):
Up for me.

Speaker 5 (47:20):
Well, in games like this, it becomes less about the
overall this team's better than that team or this quarterbacks,
but it's matchups. Yeah, certain coaches know how had a
scheme against a particular quarterback. Niners in the Vikings have
this like they can't. They have so much trouble with
the Vikings, and I think I think Lamar would like
to probably get over this hub. But sometimes certain teams

(47:43):
have your number, and not because of a mental thing,
but just they know how to play you. And they
know how to play you in a way that others don't.
They have the personnel that can play you in that way.
And so I don't know, this will be a fun one.
It's Lamar. You know, we could say Lamar's do I
kind of I don't know, I kind of I do.
I could be wrong. My kind of gut feeling is

(48:03):
the Ravens are gonna win it.

Speaker 2 (48:04):
So I reached out to Cynthia freelan our dear friend
who's the analytics expert and does like data science for
NFL Network, and I was like, so, tell me, like,
what what are the numbers telling you. She's like, it's
a fifty to fifty. It's a fifty to fifty toss up.
I'm like, great, Okay, that didn't help me at all,
but cool, cool, cool, cool.

Speaker 4 (48:23):
So it's I'm going Lamar.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
It's yeah, we're gonna have our full game picks at
the end of the show. But that that one was like, ah,
I could really go either way. All right, Let's move
to the rad and that's the Chiefs, you guys. Back
to back, the back to back Super Bowl champs are
currently undefeated nine wins in.

Speaker 4 (48:42):
It might finally.

Speaker 3 (48:44):
Yeah, they've won fifteen straight dating back to last season.
They haven't lost since Christmas Day. We were just talking
about that was that the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (48:51):
Yeah lost, So that was.

Speaker 3 (48:52):
Just such a weird loss.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
But it further proves that no matter what players they
have on their team, if Patrick Mahomes that Andy Reid
are paired up.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
The dynasty will continue. Like it is a full dynasty
right now.

Speaker 2 (49:07):
And Andy Reid compared what the Chiefs are doing to
a kid in school studying for a test. And if
you study as much as you can and then you
go and take the test and the mindset works, it's
all going to work out.

Speaker 3 (49:20):
I think we have some sound of Andy Reid talking
about this.

Speaker 11 (49:27):
You bust your butt and you maximize all you can
do with the time that you have to get better
and to know the information that's in front of you,
and so then you don't have to worry about all
that other stuff. You maximize it out and then you
go you get to a point where you go, all, right,
this as much as I can do, I'm going to
just go out and do it. And so it relieves
some of that oh we're nine and oh or you

(49:48):
know whatever I mean, you know it's just three super
all that crap. You got to do the work to
get the result and then sometimes that doesn't happen. But
you know, so why worry about all that. That's stuff
that you can't control. The control is what I'm talking
about here. It's kind of a neat thing to watch.
And that's what the guys have been doing. And we'll
see you We'll just see how it goes. I mean,

(50:09):
I don't have a crystal ball, and nobody does really,
and so you know, you just go, you go play.

Speaker 5 (50:15):
I mean, that's the leader you want to be behind,
one hundred percent. And he's lucky, no put intended. He's
got the chief maximizer playing quarterback for him. If there's
a heady's ever somebody who can maximize whatever as much
or as little as he has.

Speaker 4 (50:26):
It's Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 5 (50:27):
And so they are incredible and no matter how you
feel about them, they're doing something really special and you
kind of have to you have to respect it. You
have to respect Mahomes. I do not believe that the
refs are in on it.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (50:43):
Absolutely. They're just a.

Speaker 5 (50:45):
Very very good football team and he knows how to
get it done and what Andy Reid just said, is
just sums it all up. So they are rad and
so we'll see if they're going to go ten and
oh against the Bills.

Speaker 4 (50:58):
As we talked to Maddy earlier.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
Yeah, the game of the week Sunday against the Bills. Now,
Josh Allen knows how to beat the Chiefs, but for
some reason, Mahome lives free in his head during the
postseason because Alan is three and one against Mahomes in
the regular season, but oho and three against Mahomes in
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (51:17):
So and it's interesting.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
When we talked to Bills reporter Matdy Glab last hour,
we were asking her about this, and it's like, well,
you know it is this because we heard Josh Allen
say like, oh, it's just a week eleven game. It's like, no,
it's not, buddy like. It's also the first game like
home game where they get to play the Chiefs at home.
The other one was during COVID, so there were no
fans there. So it's the first time they really get
to experience that entire atmosphere, and there has to be

(51:41):
like they're missing their tight end. Amari Cooper is questionable.
She said he might be in so it's going to
have to be Josh Allen once again putting the team
on his back to try to take down the dynasty.

Speaker 5 (51:52):
And I think something that what doesn't get talked about
enough with the Chiefs is their defense because it's all
about it gets all about Mahomes. But they also have
an incredible defense. So it's not going to be easy
for Josh Allen to put him on his back, but
that is what he's gonna have to do. I have
a hot take about undefeated seasons.

Speaker 3 (52:10):
Okay, let's go.

Speaker 5 (52:11):
I do not think it is good for a team
to have an undefeated regular season.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
Oh no, I agree.

Speaker 4 (52:15):
I think they need to take Maybe it's Luke warn.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
No, no, no, no, I agree, because like you got to
have a little like you got to face a little
adversity something during the regular season to be like, Okay,
that wasn't that bad. Let's keep going. But if there
was ever a team where I don't think it would affect,
it's the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (52:31):
Probably the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (52:32):
I also think of just law of averages is that
eventually you're gonna have to lose, but but not if
with the Chiefs. You might be right. They're different as
they're built different.

Speaker 3 (52:44):
They are.

Speaker 4 (52:44):
They are literally and figuratively they are.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
Built Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid is like, it's it's
the new Tom Brady, Bill Belichick. If they are, they
are the dynasty of now and you can never count
them out. I mean last year was patrickmas worst statistical year.
That was a year for everybody, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson
to take him down and they couldn't. And he somehow

(53:08):
figured it out. And they're back to back super Bowl
champs and they're looking dead bit good. Uh yeah, a
three pete at the bombit. But let's finish with the bad.
If you're just tuning in, we're doing a segment called
the Good, the Bad, the Weird, the rat and the
Bad in the AFC or the Jets. You guys, I'm sorry,

(53:28):
but are we surprised? I've been saying this since the preseason.
I did not think it was going to work without
any proof of concept. Yes, a forty year old quarterback
coming off a major injury in a new organization, which
we know that organization's dysfunctional, and Rogers.

Speaker 3 (53:45):
Is a very picky guy. He has to have a
relationship and a deep trust with his receivers, if he's
even gonna throw to you. As we've seen, he's called out.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
So many coaches teammates if they made a wrong play,
like it is just.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
It's brutal.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
Good news for a Judds fan. That's being sarcastic. Rogers
still wants to play next season, so you're gonna have
to go through it all again next year because he
ain't getting any younger. And we heard Boomer, former Jets quarterback,
was talking about how he's not Rogers isn't the same player.

Speaker 3 (54:19):
Obviously we all have eyes, you can see it.

Speaker 2 (54:21):
And he said, I hate to say it, it's like
Aaron Rodgers has completely sucked the air.

Speaker 3 (54:25):
Out of the building.

Speaker 2 (54:26):
And I think so many guys are referring to who
he is in their minds, in their minds, and in
my mind, he's a first ballot Hall of Fame player,
one of the greatest quarterbacks, and when he was in
his prime, he was one of the best we had
ever seen. But the fact you've hear someone say he
just sucks the air out of the room, like if
that doesn't describe what it's probably like in New York
right now.

Speaker 5 (54:45):
I just.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
It's tough. It's not a good situation. I don't think
they should have fired his coach. I don't think it
was Sola's fault. He was their best situation. He was
their best like fit case situation, like scenario and everything
that was happening in that moment.

Speaker 4 (55:00):
They should not have fired him.

Speaker 5 (55:02):
And the other problem with Rogers is they've it's been
all about basically giving him whatever he wants. Oh, he
wants it, and so he's now kind of like the
GM and the coach and the quarterback and he's not
doing any of it well. And it is a hot mess.
And like you said, the organization is dysfunctional anyways. But

(55:23):
firing Robert sal I think was a very big mistake. Clearly, Yeah, reactional.

Speaker 4 (55:28):
And just it's a mess.

Speaker 5 (55:30):
And Rogers is the thing we didn't see I think
in the earlier parts of his career was how much
he's all about Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (55:40):
I think we always kind of knew that, but it's just.

Speaker 4 (55:42):
It's gone to it. It feels like it's gone to a
new level extreme.

Speaker 2 (55:45):
I mean he was on Pat McAfee and on his
like where your name plate is? It said like super
Bowl champ, MVP and Ayahuasca enthusiast. So he's just leaning
in so hard to that side of everything.

Speaker 3 (56:02):
And you know what, zero judgment there.

Speaker 2 (56:04):
If that's what gets you in the right mindset, you
feel good about yourself, like it is one of the
like ancient rituals like of the world. But I just, honestly,
it's just tough to see greats go out like this.
It's the beginning of the end obviously. But is it
even fun for him anymore because you're not winning games? Yeah,
you're not having him.

Speaker 5 (56:24):
It doesn't feel like how can you be having fun?
And there's dysfunction everywhere everywhere, So unless unless he's reveling
in that, which some people do, but I can't imagine
this is fun for him anymore. It's just and it
also it's kind of just sad to watch a little bit.

Speaker 3 (56:38):
So it's hard.

Speaker 2 (56:40):
All right, guys, We're going to take a quick break here,
but when we come back, is Brownie James set up
for a disaster.

Speaker 3 (56:46):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (56:49):
Welcome back to Fox Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here
with Tracy Sandler, coming to you live from the tire
dot Com Studios. Thank you for spending your Saturday Afternoon
with us. If you missed any of our show today,
you can listen to the podcast right after we're done.
Anywhere you get your podcast, just search Fox Sports Radio.
I'll also post it on my social page at Alex
Underscore Curry.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
We've had a lot of fun today.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
We have and you know what, now we're gonna talk
some basketball because there was a report this week that
Brownie James is set to only play in G League
home games, so he's basically going to be a part
time player for the club moving forward.

Speaker 3 (57:30):
And you guys, this special treatment is only going to
hurt him in the long run. I think mainly with
his teammates, because how do you earn respect, how do
you build.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
A connection with these people. He's just he's at a
disadvantage right out of the gates. As someone who's been
on the road with teams for a decade.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
I was on the road.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
That's where you become family with everybody. It's you were
all going through it together. I just there's already been
in the Nepo baby conversation. It's only gonna get worse.
Like you have a target on your back and like
the you're only here because of your dad is gonna
get worse.

Speaker 4 (58:13):
He's not set up for success.

Speaker 5 (58:15):
And you know, on the one hand, it's so cool
that we get to see them play together.

Speaker 3 (58:19):
Well we did. They got it out of the way,
they like super cool. But Lakers handled it perfectly.

Speaker 4 (58:26):
But this is not going to help him.

Speaker 5 (58:28):
And you're right with his teammates and you you want,
you need the respect of your teammates. So what I
didn't quite understand about this is has this ever been
done before?

Speaker 4 (58:38):
And so he just is it? Is there a reason?
Is is travel not good for his health? Or is
this just Brownie doesn't want to travel so we're not
gonna make it.

Speaker 2 (58:47):
I don't know if it's like maybe because G League games,
you're in smaller cities, you're in smaller airports, you have layovers.
I'm also curious, like what's Lebron's in fluence in this.

Speaker 3 (59:01):
Is it a safety reason, is it a security thing?

Speaker 2 (59:04):
Is it a brawny thing just not wanting to like
to do it? And to like he's never been in
that world before. He's grown up on a private jet,
so like might even be worse, but like take the
PJA to go to the games. At least like whatever
it is, so you're at least there and playing with
your teammates and earning a spot, Yeah, earning a spot

(59:27):
on the team, and earning a spot with the Lakers
once you come up. Because we've already heard he's gonna
go up and down between the Lakers and the G
League team. But the South Bay's longest streak of road
games is six, but that's stretched out over four.

Speaker 3 (59:41):
Weeks, so he's gonna miss a month a lot with
the team.

Speaker 4 (59:46):
It's also not good for his development as the basketball player. No,
none of it is good.

Speaker 5 (59:50):
And I also would be curious, like if he was
going to be on the Lakers full time, I assume
he would still do road games.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
Yeah, so it's just it's the private charter. Yeah, it's
that traveling situation.

Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
How that's but that's the optics. I don't know what else.

Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
You're right, it kind of has to be that.

Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
But that, but that, even if it is something else,
it's the optics of it. And so it's not good.
It's not good in any way, shape or form.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
No, it's it's a lose lose situation. You're already coming
in as the goat's son. You get more special treatment
than anybody else. I just we all know that this
is for Lebron James and he is the greatest score
of all time and he deserves to have this moment

(01:00:40):
with his son. I think it's the reason we're still
getting to watch Lebron play, because he made it very
clear a few years ago that he wanted to play
with his son. The Lakers were very clear, please don't
draft Bronnie. We are going to draft him in the
second round.

Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
And it's just I was so proud of how they
handle the situation.

Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
They let them check in together, they had the first
father son pass, they made history.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
It was a.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
Beautiful moment for the James family. Yes, and Lebron and Bronni.
But this, I just, you're going to be a part
time player and not travel with the G League team
is just nepotism at its finest.

Speaker 5 (01:01:24):
It is very odd unless there is a health thing,
because we know he's had Bronni has had health things.
But I don't know that that makes sense. So I
don't know. But optically it looks bad and it probably
is what you think it is, U huh and and
bad form and again brutal taking out even the teammate
part of it. It's not good for him as a
basketball player. He's not going to approve by missing a

(01:01:46):
month of basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
That's weird, all right now, Let's check in with Martin
Wise and see what's trending.

Speaker 9 (01:01:55):
Right now. Penn's staying with a twenty one to three
lead entering into the second half right over Purdue.

Speaker 7 (01:02:00):
It's been it's been tough for Purdue to with the
ball here as they're about to punt again. Halftime between
Virginia and Notre Dame. Notre Dame making it elafforts twenty
eight to nothing over the Cavaliers.

Speaker 9 (01:02:12):
Notre Dame a three team in the nation.

Speaker 7 (01:02:14):
Fourteenth threeth SMU has a twenty to fourteen lead over
Boston College at halftime. The Louisville Cardinals with a twenty
one to thirteen lead over the Stafford Cardinals. Just starting
the second half there, Louisville with the ball. Halftime between
LSU and Florida, the Tigers and the twenty second team
in the nation terms of ranking. Their tie ten apiece
late in the first half between Missouri and South Carolina

(01:02:36):
still seven to six game, Cocks in the lead, but
Missouri does have the ball first in goal in the
red zone. Earlier today, what we saw we saw Texas
number three team in the nation, beat Arkansas twenty to ten,
Ohio State b Northwestern thirty one to seven, Colorado forty nine.
You saw twenty four the Buffalo's seventeenth thirteen.

Speaker 9 (01:02:56):
In the nation.

Speaker 7 (01:02:57):
Clemson hanged hung on to beat Pittsburgh To's were a
chance win it in the very last play of the game,
but Clemson holds on twenty fourth to twenty.

Speaker 9 (01:03:04):
The Tigers moved to seven and one in acc play
two lane, the green way of the twenty fifth raine
team in the nation.

Speaker 7 (01:03:09):
Undefeated in American play. They stay that way after beating
Navy thirty five to nothing. In the NFL, Christian Barmore
is activated for the non football illness list.

Speaker 9 (01:03:20):
He should play on Sunday.

Speaker 7 (01:03:21):
The Patriots released wide receiver Tai Kwan Thornton after three seasons.
The Browns of elevated Cadarius Tony from the practice wild
for Tomorrow's game against the Saints. The Raiders activated Michael
Meyer from the reserve list prior to Sunday's game. He
had missed just about every game this week three with
a personal issue. I see and also in college football,
Kurt Signet, Indiana head coach. He agreed to an eight

(01:03:44):
year contract extension. He has ten games in so far
to his Indiana career. But when you start out ten
and oero, they sign you up for eight more years.
I guess eight million dollars annually. Who reported average value?
There at one million dollar retention bonus each year. That
contract will run through the end of the twenty.

Speaker 9 (01:04:02):
To thirty two season. Eight year, seventy two million dollars.

Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
Back to you guys, Thank you Martin.

Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
You're listening to Fox Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here
at Tracy Sandler. We are broadcasting live from the Tyro
dot Com studios in Los Angeles, and it is time
for our next guest host and NFL Network reporter Bridget Condon.

Speaker 3 (01:04:21):
Thank you for joining the show.

Speaker 6 (01:04:23):
Hi, Oh my god, I wish I was there in person.
What a fun lineup, Tracy, Alex my few favorite girl.

Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (01:04:29):
THANKSV.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
Let's start with the game you're going to be at tomorrow,
Bengals at Chargers Sunday Night Football. Jim Harbaugh already has
the Chargers with more wins through nine games this season.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
Than they had all of last season.

Speaker 4 (01:04:43):
He's a national treasure.

Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Yeah, says the mission girl over here. How impressive has
this turnaround been with Harbaugh as a head coach.

Speaker 6 (01:04:51):
There are so many ways that he has elevated this
Chargers program. I was at practice on Wednesday, and I
covered this team a lot, right, I was there last season,
the ups and downs. I've covered this team probably for
four seasons now. There is such a different vibe even
just hearing Justin Herbert speak on the podium, because Harva
is not only improving this team on the field, but

(01:05:11):
off the fields, and that is transformed this entire program.
I'm so excited for this game because Justin Herbert he
has not thrown an interception in seven straight games, the
longest action streak in the NFL. That He's also performing
at a high level since there bye week, averaging nearly
twice as many passing yards since that bye week. I
asked him about it this week, and remember he was

(01:05:34):
on that ankle injury the first couple of weeks. He
was playing through a high ankle's frame. Jim Harbaugh said,
who even plays with a happened ankle? The only guy
who does is Justin Herbert, like he loves this guy
so much. But now that he's fully healthy and had
more time in real games under new offensive coordinator Greg
Roman's system, they are playing charger football that fans have

(01:05:57):
been dreaming up. This is why they brought Jim Harbaugh here.
And here's the thing. They're in a wild card position
right now, but they need to play good football in
November and December, and it starts Sunday night in primetime,
a good test against the Bengals team that's much better
than their record.

Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
Can you talk a.

Speaker 5 (01:06:14):
Little bit about jesse Minter and what he's done for
the defense because so much, of course is made of
Justin Herbert, but jesse Minter has transformed them as well.

Speaker 6 (01:06:23):
Absolutely. I actually got to talk with Khalil Mack about
that this weekend in the locker room, and I was like,
what's different, Like, of course, Khalil has been on the
team the past couple of seasons and he's been, you know,
on some of those teams where the defense hasn't been strong,
and for them to now have the number one scoring defense,
He's like, yes, he just does it in a way
that is simple for us to understand. And he said

(01:06:45):
like he's one of those guys that you don't want
to mess up for, Like because of everything that he
puts into this team, it almost makes them play harder.
And I know that that's like sounds like, you know what,
an NFL player really actually play differently based on the
person they're playing for. But it's true, like when they have,
you know, somebody that believes in them and they connect

(01:07:08):
with you see it, and he's making it simple for them.
They've set a season high already in sacks in the
last three weeks. They have five sacks week six, or
five sacks week eight, six sacks week nine, seven sacks
week ten. I mean, they are playing at such an
incredibly high level. And this is you know, it's funny

(01:07:29):
because we've talked about Derwin James, Khalil Mack to Echu
Pullo to you know, Joey Bosa, and you're like, this
Chargers defense is supposed to be good. We've been saying
that for three seasons. Well it's finally clicking. And I
think that that in itself is just as exciting as
what Justin Herbert's doing on offense.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
Now, you mentioned that Jim Harbaugh has improved this team
not only on the field but off the field. Is
that the culture you're talking about? And just I know
you've spent four years with this team. Are people just
having fun? Is it a mentality?

Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Like what do you mean by that?

Speaker 6 (01:08:02):
Okay, So did you guys see the video of Justin
Herbert geting the postgame speech when they won Sunday against
the Titans. Yes, okay, So it's kind of funny because
I wouldn't really call it a speech. Jim Harbaugh was
like Justin talk and he was like, good job everyone,
or like he said, like four words, it's just kind
of fun. He joked about it this week and said,
like you know, in high school and college, that's not

(01:08:24):
something he was comfortable doing because he's just like, you know,
you're thinking about everyone looking at you, you feel awkward.
But Jim Harbor is putting him in those positions more
and more. He's like the more I do it, the
more normal I feel. He did kind of joke and
say I probably should come up with something in case
that happens again, that I have something top of mind.
But you know, like I mentioned even at the podium,

(01:08:44):
it's a different Justin Herbert, and that means so much
when you're you know, he's an incredible athlete and he's
a great guy, but he hasn't had I don't want
to like miss him in any way, but he just
hasn't expressed himself as a leader in some of the
ways we've seen these other you know, bigger than like quarterbacks,
and whether that matters or not, Jim Harbaugh's getting the

(01:09:06):
most out of him by like telling him this is
your team. Speak to the guys like it's your team.
Speak with confidence, get comfortable being uncomfortable. And you see
that with Herbert, but you see it with other players,
and you see it in the locker room. Of course,
the new facility wasn't just Jim Harbaugh's doing, but they
have the ping pong table, they have the lockers set
up numerically, so they're all meeting different kinds of people,

(01:09:29):
not just people in their position rooms. I think it's
just all of that together. Yeah, it's making it more
fun and guys are just it's like they have a
you know, take a deep breath this season.

Speaker 9 (01:09:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:09:40):
Well, when you talk about fun and the podium, would
you say that the Jim Harbaugh press conferences have added
a little Genessee claw to the Chargers because that was
something at Michigan. I mean, I wouldn't miss a Monday
press conference, and I think we've se we see that,
but that's part of it. Think what makes it fun
and he makes the players laugh, they talk about it,
and it feels like that contributes to the culture.

Speaker 6 (01:10:04):
Yeah, I think so. Podium Also him wearing cleats and gloves. Yeah,
that's the same matching passes with his quarterback. But no, Jersey,
I was thinking of you because I was in the
podium room on Wednesday and I thought he was done speaking,
so I like started asking a question and then he
like kept talking and I was like, oh my god.
I interrupted him. Like he is so hard to tell

(01:10:25):
when he's done talking, because he's just someone who like
goes on these tangents, pauses for a little bit, then
says something out of left field, and you're like, I
don't know when we can ask questions because you know,
you never know what's going to come next out of
his mouth.

Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
Now, let's talk about the other side, because the Bengals
haven't had the season they've wanted so far, but they
do get wide receiver Tie Higgins back tomorrow night.

Speaker 3 (01:10:48):
What kind of difference do you think he will make
for this offense?

Speaker 6 (01:10:52):
Huge difference when you look at this Bangles offense. It's
funny because Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow are leading the
NFL like top five in both of their numerical metrics,
and they don't have a record that shows it. The
way that Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase and this team
are going to get better and turn some of those

(01:11:12):
high numbers into wins is having T Higgins on the field.
When you're a defense and all you have to prepare
for is Jamar Chase, you can double team him, you
can you know, play him very tightly. It makes things
challenging for him. But when you have someone like T Higgins,
who is an incredible athlete himself, now you're trying to
figure out, okay, how do we guard both these guys.
Then you throw in Andre Josevash who's been playing great

(01:11:35):
for them too, just another weapon on the field allows
their offense to open the playbooks that much more and
make things more complicated for this Chargers defense.

Speaker 5 (01:11:45):
You talked about the Chargers having to play good football
in November in December, that feels the same, maybe times
two for the Sangals team that.

Speaker 4 (01:11:53):
Has just really underperformed.

Speaker 5 (01:11:56):
And have lost some tough games, and so when you
go into this game, it almost feels like almost a
must win for the Bengals. Not to get dramatic, but
it feels a little bit lighter. They're getting to that
point and it would be if they could win. It's
a statement on Sunday Night football.

Speaker 6 (01:12:10):
Yeah, exactly. The Bengals still have a chance. I mean
it's slim, especially you know the division.

Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
That they're in.

Speaker 6 (01:12:17):
But after this game, you have the Steelers again. You
have the Steelers twice actually, so like you know, looking
at their schedule, though it's doable. They have the Cowboys doable,
Tightens doable, Browns doable, Broncos doable. So if you win
for those four games, maybe split with the Steelers and
win this one of the Chargers, you can sneak in

(01:12:38):
with a wild card, but it starts Sunday night. You
have to get that win. And I think you've seen
the frustration from Joe Burrow talking about he needs to
play perfect football. I mean, the guy's playing out of
his mind. It's crazy to say that because the stats
don't align again with the record, but I think They're
so close, and when people want to count out the Bengals,

(01:12:58):
I'm not ready to do that yet. I think that
they still they always start slow, and it was a
little slower this year than in seasons past, but they're
right in there. And if you can knock off a
number one scoring defense in this Chargers team, I think
it's going to make things really interesting for the rest
of the season.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
So what are you expecting from this game tomorrow? Are
you able to give us like a game pick or
what you think how close it's going to be.

Speaker 6 (01:13:23):
I can't give you a game pick, but I can
say I think it's going to be high scoring. I
mean what I saw from Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase
against that Ravens game, I thought for sure they were
going to win it. I mean they were leading and
then the Ravens came back, and you know, then they
went for two at the end, didn't get it and
lost by one point. That is stuck in their mind

(01:13:43):
now for ten days, because remember that was a Thursday
night game. Joe at the podium just has something in
his eye like he's pissed off. So I don't I
think they're going to come out swinging stee Higgins's back.
That obviously is going to be huge. But then again
you look at this, yeah, and I know that's why
I'm like this again if this is the game of

(01:14:04):
the week, Like, honestly, I'm pumped to be there and
we're lucky to have it here in Soco.

Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
Bridget, thank you so much for joining us. That was
such good insight. I'm like, is it gonna and.

Speaker 6 (01:14:13):
Hopefully I'll see Manhattan Beach soon?

Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
Yeah, we love that. Have a fun game tomorrow, all right,
you guys later.

Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
All right, guys, we're gonna take one more break here,
but when we come back, we have our Week eleven
NFL Picks. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Welcome back
to Fox Football Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here with Tracy Sandler.
We are broadcasting live from the tire dot Com Studios
in Los Angeles. Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon
with us, Trace, thanks for filling in for KRMEI too.

(01:14:41):
It's been it's been fun. So we're gonna end the
show how we usually do. It is time for our
Week eleven NFL Picks.

Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
Producer Patrick Hell.

Speaker 8 (01:14:51):
How we looking well, I'll tell you what Okay, I'm
gonna you know what, even though Karmen's not here, but
she's met in her picks.

Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
Though right she did send I told her, I told
to send them to you. I do have them recorded
for this upcoming I did not do as great as
I normally do last week.

Speaker 8 (01:15:07):
Here's the good thing about that, though, Alex. Okay, both
you and Carmen have the same record at three and two.
We are breaking even as we say, wow, current record
right now thirty three and twenty one for you, Alex,
our fearless leader, and twenty eight and twenty six. Okay,
we maybe not tell Carmen when she comes back, but

(01:15:29):
you have a five point lead.

Speaker 3 (01:15:30):
On her right now, so heyo, okay, Okay.

Speaker 8 (01:15:34):
Well we're gonna start their first game of this coming
week minus Carman who has her picks.

Speaker 3 (01:15:39):
In, but Alex, who is our fearless leader.

Speaker 8 (01:15:42):
It is a Packers five and a half point favorites
on the road taking on the Chicago Bears and Alex
not Bears.

Speaker 9 (01:15:50):
What are we feeling?

Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
I mean, Packers all the way, babe. The Bears are
a hot mess right now.

Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
Kayleb Williams is having some rookie struggles he has an
NFL high thirty eight sacks. They just fired their offensive
coordinator this year. I don't know what they think a
mid season OC change is gonna do. And the Packers
are coming off of bye they're well rested. I just
I think this is gonna be a brutal a brutal
beat down.

Speaker 8 (01:16:14):
A brutal beatdown. Well, you know what Carmen would agree
with what she put the Packers on hers as well.

Speaker 4 (01:16:20):
Okay, Tracy, a brutal beat down by the Packers.

Speaker 8 (01:16:25):
We're going three for three on the Packers. Everybody, let's
go well number two this one. There could be a
little bit of back and forth. We have the Ravens
three and a half point favorites on the road taking
on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Alex, what are we feeling here?

Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
I mean, it's so tough because both of these teams
have been on a roll. The Steelers have Lamar's number.
We talked about this earlier in the show. Lamar is
one in three against the Steelers and he has more
interceptions than touchdowns against the Steelers. It's just one of
those teams that has them figured out. But I also

(01:17:05):
think that Lamar breaks breaks the curse this time around
and gets the win.

Speaker 1 (01:17:10):
So I'm going with.

Speaker 3 (01:17:11):
Lamar and the Ravens. Ravens.

Speaker 5 (01:17:14):
What about you, Tracy, I'm picking it, I said, I
did say it earlier. My guy tells me this is
the Ravens game and that Lamar will will finally Well,
I guess he's beaten them the one time, but they'll
get his second win against them. So I actually am
going for the Ravens on this one.

Speaker 4 (01:17:31):
Wow, that's tough one.

Speaker 3 (01:17:31):
Yeah, that is you know what again?

Speaker 8 (01:17:33):
Three for three? Carmen also nas snap, Okay, fine, let's
go a little harder show. We got the Chiefs buffalo
for the bills. Bills are two point favorites. Yeah, Alex,
take it away. Who are we going here?

Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
It's such a coin flip. And I even reached out.

Speaker 2 (01:17:50):
I don't know if I call it cheating, I'd say
doing my research, I reached out to Cynthia Freelan, the
data numbers analytics expert for NFL Network, and I asked her,
what do the numbers tell you? She said it's fifty
to fifty, So it really is a coin flip. Everything
in my body wants to pick the bills. Since Josh
Allen is three and one against Mahomes in the regular season,

(01:18:11):
but the Chiefs are undefeated and an underdog in this game,
which is always insane motivation for Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
And they're undefeated. I am not betting. I just I
can't do it.

Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
I can't get myself to bet against Patrick Mahomes yet,
so I'm taking the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (01:18:26):
That's the rule to live by. I used to say,
I know, never get bet bet against Tom Brady. I
don't like to bet against Patrick Mahomes either, and I'm sorry,
I'm gonna pick them two.

Speaker 4 (01:18:35):
I'm sorry, Josh Allen.

Speaker 8 (01:18:36):
Really, I am, well, we got two and a one
here because Carmen is going to bet against Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (01:18:43):
She's picking the Bills on this.

Speaker 8 (01:18:44):
One course, yes, guards indeed, Well let's going number four here.
We have my Seattle Seahawks HU taking on the San
Francisco forty nine Ers, who are six and a half
point favorite, and I already know we're gonna lose.

Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
Alex, what do you feel I mean, it's the forty
nine ers on the up and up.

Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
I feel like they're fighting for that top spot in
the NFC West and they need this big division win.

Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
If they're going to get there.

Speaker 5 (01:19:08):
I am picking the forty nine ers, but I have
a caveat. Okay, if Trent Williams doesn't play then and
he is questionable the Bankle injury.

Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
If he doesn't play, I think the Seahawks have a shot.

Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
Oh, I like the caveat. Yeah, for everybody, like anybody
not to play, but you're like, you know it.

Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
If he doesn't play, it's not that allay.

Speaker 8 (01:19:32):
And with that, Carmen also picked the Niners. We have
another three for here. The final one we got going on.
It's the Bengals taking on the Los Angeles Chargers in LA,
who are one and a half point favorites. Alex can
get the final call here. Where are we going?

Speaker 3 (01:19:49):
I mean, Bengals are getting t Higgins back. Chargers have
been on a roll, They're on a three game win streak.
They're at home. It's Sunday Night football.

Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
I haven't I haven't fully picked this one yet. I've
just this was I was supposed to.

Speaker 12 (01:20:05):
Ah, I'm going to burrow in the Bengals. Burrow in
the Bengals, burrown the Bengals. Carmen tack the Bengals too.

Speaker 4 (01:20:16):
I'm going Chargers because I'll never root against Jim Harva.

Speaker 3 (01:20:20):
Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. We'll
see you next week, same time, same place,
