(01:04):
a lot to get to, some interesting news, some big
things taking place. The forty nine ers seem to be
in a compromised position. The Bucks, well, they might be
getting one of their future Hall of Fame receivers back
in the mix. Can they make it a deal. We'll
get to those things this first hour. We do have
(01:27):
cuffs the Legend coming on to talk some roundball in
hour two, but let's start with some of the biggest
breaking news in sports. Maybe it is big, maybe it isn't.
I don't know, TJ. But before we talk about this
whole New York Giants Daniel Jones thing.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
How you doing, bro?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
How you feeling?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Man?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Man?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
I feel good. You know, it's been great waking up
to the same thing each and every day. It's why
we live in California. For a while, I was a
little disturbed, like man, overcasts every day, but back on
track with the clearestkys and palm trees. So, you know,
feeling good.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
It's been really good. It's been that the weather has
been pretty good. I'm liking it. And uh yeah, we're
about to downsize pretty soon here because the.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Twins all the kids go.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
The twins are going to be moving on to uh
state college pencils.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Y'all, y'all, y'all moving out that big ass house.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Huh yeah, we're going We're going downside run downsize it
a little bit so and you know, maybe your boy
doesn't have to just be paying all of his money
on what's going on with these kids, and then we
could actually start living for ourselves, you know, speaking of
living for yourselves TJ. Living for the city, New Jack
City was that song where they said live in living,
(02:45):
living just enough for the city. Well, Daniel Jones didn't
live enough for the city, my guy, and well it
looks as though the end is here. He had an
interview where he talked about his time there and he
didn't want to leave and things didn't work out. He
wished it could have worked out, but he's got a
(03:05):
lot of football left in him. The reports come out
that Daniel Jones requested to be released and requested to
have the opportunity to try to catch on with a
different team because he feels as though, you know, this
would be the right approach for him and moving forward.
And it looks as though the New York Giants agreed,
(03:27):
and with the hefty, super super large contract that was
just awarded to him, this this marriage has now ended.
He will, it's looking like from the reports clear waivers. Well,
he will go through waivers and clear them. We're assuming
(03:47):
no one's going to take the contract that that he has,
so he'll clear waivers on Monday and then the I guess,
let let the negotiations or let let the calls start,
let the games begin on where Daniel Jones goes from here?
What's your take on the Daniel Jones situation? Do you
(04:09):
think this ended the right way? Is this how it
was supposed to end?
Speaker 2 (04:15):
You know, when it's first off, people got to understand
when you look at your favorite national football team, we
look at it as entertainment, but ultimately it's a business.
It's a business, and so them benching Daniel, We're not
making the playoffs. If you get hurt. We have believe
it was a twenty three million dollar injury guarantee. They're
(04:38):
not taking that chance. And Daniel Jones was extremely classy
when he was released in a statement that he made.
But ultimately, it's what you do on the field. I
don't know Daniel Jones. I've never met him, but he
seems like a good dude, a good person. So we never,
(04:59):
at least I never talk about the person in a
personal way. It's always about what you showed me on
the football field. And at one point this year LeVar
I literally was watching games and I'm like, dude, Daniel Jones.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
He's not bad at all.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
He's not bad, like he's getting better. He was getting better,
and then.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
He just makes bad mistakes. His mistakes are so bad he.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Just kind of reverted back to like the Daniel Jones
of He's not a franchise quarterback. But at one point
he went on a two to three game stretch this season.
I was like, man, Daniel Jones was playing well. And
if you can't, because I believe Brian Dable is a
really he's not a good coach, he's a really good
(05:51):
coach because I, at least in my opinion, I believe
that's what he is. If you have a hard time
because I'm another player in the National Football League that
is a bonify starter under Dable as a quarterback, I
don't know if there is a spot for you in
this league as a starting quarterback because he puts you,
(06:14):
He's going to put you in advantageous situations. You have
a receiver and he's a rookie, but he's going to
try to feature that receiver. So he's trying to give
you a number one. He's trying to make you feel
comfortable with having a number one in elite neighbors and
so yes, Daniel Jones led him to the playoffs. Yes,
Daniel Jones won a playoff game, but many will say
(06:35):
that was because of dables coaching. I wish the best
for him because he does genuinely seem like a good dude.
It's not his fault that he was drafted sixth overall.
And when he was drafted, everybody was like, wait, wait, wait,
y'all undrafted to Eli Dupe resembles Eli. They hope he
(06:56):
could play like Eli, but he couldn't. And so it's
not his fault he was drafted six. We all aspire
to be drafted as high as possible, and him being
drafted six is not his fault. But the Giants obviously
they made a huge, colossal mistake by giving him that extension.
(07:17):
Did they not realize that when he had that Penn
State nitty line behind him in the backfield, that's what
made him play better.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
That's where I'm going with it.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
And so them choosing to give Daniel Jones a contract,
and I say, kwan, And it wasn't a oh, it
was either or it wasn't that because at that point
they weren't they weren't paying a receiver any money they
could have signed, Say Kwan, stopped letting these teams fool
you and say the salary cap, we can't afford it.
Look at the Philadelphia Eagles, look at their roster and
(07:47):
how many guys they're paying. Look at the Detroit Lions.
Look at the roster and how many guys they're playing.
Fans of these teams, stop letting these people tell you
it's the salary cap. It's not the salary cap. I
was told, and I said, I never knew this. I
was told I had dinner with somebody. That's very important.
When teams say the salary cap, they just don't want
to sign a guy. Everybody always has room to sign
(08:08):
the guys they want if they structure it the right way.
They just use the salary cap as an excuse. So
they could have signed the Barkley. They didn't value him
in that sense.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
And they thought they could do it without him. That's
the bottom line.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Sai Kwon Barkley is now playing on the best team
he's ever played on. He's an MVP candidate. But we're
not talking about sa Quon We're talking about Daniel Jones,
and so it's not his fault that the expectations that
were placed upon him because he was a six pick,
because he came after Eli, because he resembled Eli. He
had Eli's coach, but he wasn't Eli. He duped them
(08:45):
and they thought they were getting the Eli dupe.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
This is to me, right out the gate of the
race of discussion for this, this scenario is a front
office that doesn't know what the f they're doing one
And I think so many times people get they get
off the decision makers behind the scenes, they get off,
(09:10):
you know what I mean, Like they don't get held accountable.
They start attack, Like look at the way they attack
Saquon like he's one of their most popular players, one of.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
The most successful players.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Off of them they have to the fan base attacked
Sakuon Barkley like he stole something from the New York
Giants booting when he came back. It was just to me,
and it was inappropriate and and it just didn't add up.
It makes sense to me. You take a look at
when this New York Giants team did well. There was
(09:44):
a guy by the name of Ernie Corsey who was
in the front office, one of the most amazing minds
at the GM's position. Put together some amazing teams. You'll
notice a lot of the names that come under his
resume and his body of work during his time there.
And once once they moved on. Once he moved on
(10:04):
and Reese became the new GM. I thought it was
while I'm a fan of Reese, I thought it was
a slow decline after Ernie.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Of course, can I say Thistle, Yeah, God, God, yeah,
Erne couragey did a hell of a job when you
when you look at the D line, the receivers he
brought in, just the defense in general.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
The running backs back now he created a running backs
back committee.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Go Joe, Joe, Shoon or Sean however you pronounce his name,
I'm sorry. That's a GM of the of the Giants. Yep,
he did a terrible job by giving Daniel Jones an extension.
I don't believe anybody would have given him four years,
one hundred and sixty. He's made eighty million dollars guaranteed
set for life. Thank you, and he should tell the
Giants thank you for that because he robbed a bank
(10:51):
without a mask. But that that was a bad mistake.
Letting Sa Kwon Barkley go was a bad.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
I don't think you need to go any further than no.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
But no, he built a good defense, LeVar, he built
a great defensive front. That defensive line is on Dexter
Lawrence Brian Burns. Look at you, guys. I get in
the back end of the secondary drafting Elak Neighbors, so
that the offensive line. He's done a good job. I
(11:24):
just believe those two mistakes are so glaring and you
don't realize how good of a job he's done.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
But well, you can't say you've done a good job
if the glaring parts of what you've done in your
job have led to you being fourth in the NFC
East and a team that has no real direction and
where they're going. That to me, those two critical mistakes
that you've made have costed your team the ability to
have success. And while I'll say, okay again, I acknowledge
(11:56):
what you said, right, he did put he did make
some good moves. He did, but to make the decisions
that he did make that that corrupted and was corrosive
to this team. He has to be held accountable for that.
You either can say the GM should be held accountable,
which I ultimately say the reason why I hold him
in contempt is because of what I heard him say
(12:20):
on on Hard Knocks, and they got to take a
good hard look on how they're exposing themselves these franchises
and doing these reality shows. Because to me, what sticks
out to me is his smug way of sitting there saying,
we're not going to pay all this money to say
Kwon Barkley to get the ball handed off to him,
(12:40):
when we're paying all of this money to this quarterback
to throw the ball. Okay, you draft a very very
nice talent in Molik Neighbors, and it has led to
you losing. You're losing, and it doesn't look and his
mouth got him in trouble because he got him in trouble.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
There's no way you can watch Daniel Jones in practice
and in the games and say, man, this dude gonna
take us to the Promised Land. There's no way you
can watch it because what he's put on tape doesn't
show you that what he's put on tape doesn't give
you that belief. No, it doesn't, and so it makes
you and ye, you're still he.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Still made the decision, and the way he went about
going about it and his thought process behind it played
out on on on television TJ. And there's no way
of getting out of the way of that. He sounds like,
let's be clear, like one of the biggest morons in
the history of GMS talking about a player that you
(13:41):
could ever sound like. And there's no getting around that.
It's not so to me. While he has done a
lot of good and Dave Ball has done a lot
of good for this team, they did very well Dave
Ball's first year there, they have struggled since and you
made the situation worse at a getting closer to being better.
(14:01):
And that comes across to me as a direct decision
that was outside of the hands. If you asked Dave Ball,
did I want to get rid of Saquon Barkley or
keep Saquon Barkley on this team? I can guarantee you
Dave Ball would have been like, you got to be
out of your mind to think that we would get
rid of a player of the caliber that Saquon Barkley is.
(14:22):
So if it's not on him, you get rid of
the engine of your team. And it's on film that
you said what you said as a GM, he's got
to be held accountable.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
And playing so well so well.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Bad people saying he wouldn't have had that type of
season with the New York Giants. He probably wouldn't have
been Regardless of if he would have or not.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
We know he wouldn't have because the Giants don't have
the talent on offense, but the been better at receiver
with say would have been better. They wouldn't have been
a playoff team, but I believe they they would have
been better.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yeah, they would have been closer to being better, having
a happy Saquon that got compensated properly and in the fold.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Imagine this division, the Cowboys not playing well, you take
Saquan off, the Eagles putting back on the.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Jaw because the offense now goes through Saquon Barkley in Philadelphia,
so you take away that they lose Swift, so you
don't know who they're going to have at the running
backs position. He falls into their lap and they are
winning because Saquon Barkley is the catalyst of their offense.
So by default, you're sitting there and you're one hundred
(15:44):
percent correct. You have a mid level team that's trying
to find itself in the Washington Commanders that is is
challenging for the division. The Dallas Cowboys are are drowning.
They they might be dead on arrival. And you have
this giant team that can't seem to figure it out
and their seller dwelling at fourth, their last in the division.
(16:07):
With what's going on? So you mean to tell me
that this New York Giants team, with Saquon Barkley and
with that defense, the way they play with Malik Neighbors
and company, that they wouldn't be in a position if
the if the offense was going through Saquon Barkley to
contend for at least the NFC East. I don't know,
We'll never know, but I will tell you this. We
(16:29):
know that Daniel Jones, who was the reason used as
the reason why Sakwon Barkley would be gone and leaving
and going somewhere else, is now leaving and gone and
going somewhere else. So y'all work that out, y'all do
the math on that. And yeah, we'll let you sit
on that for a minute because we're going to take
a quick break. On the other side of it, another
(16:50):
team that has some struggles and can they get through it,
we'll talk about it. Yeah, the San Francisco forty nine
Ers did we think we'd be saying this about a
Kyle Shanahan lad team. Well we are and you'll hear
more about that. This is up on Game.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
That's t J.

All right, welcome back in, it's up on game. We're
live from the Tyraq dot Com Studios. It's TJ. Hushman's
ODIs me LeVar Arrington. Pletch is taking the day off.
That's all right, he's got some things he's got to handle.
We'll get to talking about speaking of plex uh Steelers receiver. Interesting,
(19:22):
he's an interesting fellow man. We're gonna touch on that
and maybe about a few minutes. But first before we
get an update with I Loo at the nine thirty
or twelve thirty mark four for you East Coasters, let's
talk about this forty nine Ers game coming up TJ.
There they will be without rock Party and they will
(19:45):
be without mister Bosa, and they're playing against a very
very good team in the Green Bay Packers. They're playing
them there by the way, and I just don't feel
like this is a recipe for success if you're looking
(20:07):
at this forty nine Ers team who has struggled this year,
being at five hundred at five and five, TJ. They
go into this game against a Packers team that is
at seven wins, their third in their division. And looking
at the forty nine Ers, which is very interesting, they're
(20:29):
ranked last in their division but have the same record
as the Seahawks. The Rams, who are ahead of them,
and the Cardinals, being a top are only one game
at six wins ahead of the rest of the packs.
So while this could be an advantageous position for the
(20:53):
forty nine ers, it doesn't seem like it's getting any
better for them moving into the future and playing against
teams like the Green Bay Packers. What's your take on
where this forty nine Ers team is? I know Purfet
had an interesting take on it during the during the break,
I'll ask him if we have enough time, But what's
(21:13):
your take on the trajectory of this Niners team today?
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Oh? Man, I believe it's a rap. I thought it
was a rap in the offseason when they didn't give
BA that contract, they didn't give Trent Williams that contract.
And you know you're gonna do it. You know you're
gonna do it. So what are you waiting for so long?
Like you want all this to be going on? Get
your players in camp and let's go. And once you
(21:43):
come from as much heartbreak as the forty nine Ers
have had the last handful of years, getting so close,
you're on a super Bowl. You don't win the NFC
Championship game, you don't win, you're in a Super Bowl,
you don't win it, and you don't get the ultimate prize.
Each year the team is getting older. You've always been
(22:04):
a team where your best players, particularly killed Oning Deebo,
would have little injuries and that they'd be forced to
miss a game here or there. And so I felt
like at the start of the season, I wasn't sure.
I didn't think the Cardinals would win the division. I
thought the Rams would win it. I didn't pick the
Niners and win the division. I did feel like they
(22:26):
could possibly get in as a wild card. But when
you look at if they don't win a division, they're
not getting in the San Francisco. They're not a good team.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
They're not a good team.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
They're not a good team, and.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Some serious injuries.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
You look at their roster and you say, man, the
same team that they've always had, but they are not
the same team. They're a year older, got hurt early on,
he's out.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
And now you see the importance of that because it
was dynamic.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Their excuse was, oh, we don't have Christian McCaffrey, so
we're not good in the red because see Mac isn't here,
Steve Max has been playing. You're still not get in
the red zone. So you know the excuses that were
being said, We're like, okay, yeah, Christian Mccaffreyah, he is
gonna make them better in the pass game. Yeah, they
will be better in the red zone when he comes back. No, no,
(23:16):
they're just not a good team. But to me, the
biggest reason is this, Steve Wilkes was really maligned last
year as a defensive coordinator. Steve Wilkes defense that he
coached last year for the Niners, they were the third
rate scoring defense the National Football League. Where do you
think they are now? They're not doing very well. They're
(23:38):
fifteenth now fifteenth. That's a huge drop off. And so
the drop of the forty nine ers is because of
their defense. I've just spoken on their offense. Off It's
because their defense isn't as fearful as it once was.
Their defense isn't as stout as it once was. That's
(23:58):
the biggest reason. And so my crystal ball will say
they obviously have big decisions to make, But my crystal
ball says Robert Salah will be back in the Bay
Area next year. They need him in the worst way
because the Jets can't win a game. The Jets aren't
(24:21):
nowhere near the same defense without them, So that shows
me that's Robert Salah is the definition of a coach
who knows what he's doing, a teacher that can teach
the game. Because look at the Jets since he's left.
Look at that defense they won in five They can't
stop anybody. They're one of the top defense in the
(24:41):
league every year he was there. And so if I'm
Kyle Shanahan, I'm saying Robert Salah, take it easy on me, man,
But how much you need, well, what you need? How
much money is it gonna take for you to be
the decoordinator? I got to get you up out of
Green Bay. Green Bay about to smack them tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Yeah, and it doesn't look like it's going to be
better for them moving forward. They'll get maybe an opportunity
against the Bears to possibly get a win. But perfet
you were saying it, and I'll let you you have
it because you said it. And I'm not sure that
this team wins more than one game moving forward. But
what was your take on it?
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Yeah, I think the big thing to look at is
at this point five and five in the season, it's
gonna come down to their schedule, let's and if they
don't win today, which is takes them out of the
wildcard picture.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
I mean that's sorry Sunday, Sunday, say tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
Ye, But like forty nine Ers have to play a
first place schedule, the Arizona Cardinals have to play a
fourth place So I maybe see two three winnable games
for the forty nine Ers like Bears, Rams, maybe Dolphins,
whereas like the Cardinals are like, yeah, they're gonna have
to play the Vikings and the Seahawks twice, but they're
gonna have easy Patriots and Panthers.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Like.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
I don't see the path forward for the forty nine
ers to over take the Cardinals unless somehow they're that
head to head game at the end of the year
is for the division. And I don't think we collectively
are ready for this idea that the forty nine ers,
who have been staple of the playoffs for almost half
a decade are just possibly not going to be there.
(26:17):
And I think I think there's a lot of people
who just haven't. I've seen a lot of people say,
oh yeah, they'll they'll backdoor into the playoffs, Like how
with wins over the Bills, the Lions. The Packers like
really good teams. I don't see it.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
I don't see them winning more than two games the
rest of the way. And that, you know, I see
them beating the Bears. I can't see them going into
Orchard Park and being able to beat the Bills. Just
don't see that. Don't see them going into Green Bay
beating the Packers. Just don't see that. Don't see them really.
I mean, maybe they can get the Rams because it's
(26:54):
a divisional opponent, and that could be that. But I
don't see the Rams are to me a better team
than the fourty nine ers right now. The Dolphins are
a better team than the forty nine ers, right yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
The Dolphins gonna beat them. The Dolphins, they clicking, they clicking.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Detroit, h Yeah, they're a better team than the forty
nine ers right now.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
And who season Super Bowl? Pick NFC your preseason out
the NFC. Who was it? Detroit Detroit? That was Mines,
I got proof of Mines, I got Detroit playing.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
I have Detroit playing Kansas City and Kansas City getting
the three peat.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Bo Bow just brought up a great point too that
the Niners, and again this hasn't sunk in They are
one and three in their division, which is absolutely going
to tear havoc if they, you know, have to tie
the Cardinals, who I believe that they've got a head
to head win over the Niners and they can.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Easily get they play again.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Yeah, they're about to.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
Play, and they're about to play Seahawks at two times
in three weeks. They split that or win both, and
the division might already be a rap.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
It might already be done. Yeah, yeah, I agree, I
agree anyway, Yeah, that's I think the conclusion is the
forty nine ers y'ah in trouble.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
They're gonna have to try to do it without Brock
Purdy and without Bosa y'ah in trouble. Uh. Let's get
an update from Isaac lowing Cross somebody else who could
be in a little bit of trouble receiver from Pittsburgh.
We'll get some words from him, but first let's hear
the legendary Isaac lowing Kros what you got start?
Speaker 5 (28:21):
You were hinting that I was in trouble online. Now,
I haven't done anything lately, I think, know what I mean, LeVar,
I could dig it, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (28:31):
I can dig it you know me off the air,
I could dig it.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
Let's get back to on the air business. Starting at
the Horseshoe in Columbus number two Ohio State hosting fifth
ranked Indiana, Ohio State went three and out on its
opening possession. Here's what happened on Indiana's opening possession, Tisong.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Lawton sprid egg touchdown, Hosiers.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
How about this on the road Indiana opening series.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Make it from their thirty yard.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
Line twelve plays and they'll punch it in on the ground.
Speaker 5 (29:05):
Gus Johnson the call on Fox. So Indiana has a
seven to nothing lead at Ohio State with five minutes
and sixteen seconds remaining in the first quarter. Now to
find out how Ohio State fans have reacted to this
early deficit, We've consulted the popular social media site message
(29:25):
board Geniuses, which curates social media posts and message board
posts across college football. Fritz commenting quote Ryan Day, ain't
it man? Embarrassing the OSU twelve posting quote bleeping joke
of a start. Glad this team treats this bleep like
(29:46):
a joke, and finally rep nice two commenting. None of
this surprises me, and it's sickening glad to know Ohio
State fans are keeping their perspective for a game that's
only ten and n a half minutes old. Anyway, Four
other ranked teams in action right now. Eighth rank Miami
just kicked a field goal to take a ten to
(30:07):
seven lead over Wake For US, they had two minutes
left to play in the first quarter. The Miami touchdown,
by the way, was the one hundred and fifty second
of Hurricane quarterback cam Ward's career. He's three away from
tying case Keenum's Division One record. Ninth ranks Ole Miss
scoreless at Florida with three minutes left to play in
the first quarter, and number thirteen SMU is seven to
(30:28):
nothing lead at Virginia with three minutes left to play
in the first quarter.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
Guys, back to.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
You appreciate it. Alo. Never thought I'd find myself charing
for a team out of Ohio, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes,
but I am cheering for them today to win this game.
So we'll see how that all works. But the reason
why I don't chair for Ohio is because I'm from Pam.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
From pay Why, well, you need Indiana to lose for
Penn State or something.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
I do need Indiana to lose so that there isn't
any discrepancy over what Penn State's bid should be. Should
we went out the rest of the way and.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Getting in the College Football Playoff. Anyway, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
If Indiana were to win today. It makes it a
complicated conversation.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
There's no way Penn State has one loss. They're in
Ohio State is in Indiana is in it?
Speaker 3 (31:18):
Yes, But I want a home game. I want a
home game, and that's what I'm hoping for in Ohio
State needs to win today for and us. Obviously, we
need to handle what we need to handle order for
that to happen.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
But well, yeah, Ohio State about to beat Indiana. I'm
watching the game. Indiana is really selling out on the run.
Will Howard that first U have to mel the running
back on a swing groute that would have been gone
and they stopped them. But I like Indiana's offense. I
do like Indiana's offense. I'm eager to see when Indiana
(31:51):
gets the ball back. If Ohio State can't stop them,
then it's gonna be a shootout. It's gonna be a
shootout because they're not going.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
To got a f right here listen. We could talk that,
but I got it, but we got to pay off
this tease man. And you know what, I am cheering
for Ohio State to win. Uh but Pittsburgh just lost
in Ohio and Pittsburgh Steelers are clearly that's that's my
childhood team. But there's the guy the wild card, and
(32:20):
I'm interested to get you. I know we don't we're
tight on time, but I'm interested to get your take
on George Pickens. He had this to say post game after,
by the way, getting into like a little fist the
cuffs at the end of the game against the Browns
in a surprising loss against the Browns. Here's what he
had to say.
Speaker 6 (32:41):
The snow was, you know the conditions were so bad,
don't it The think you know, the QB can see
sometimes speaking and you know you've got conditions like that,
The kind of at the punt his home field kind
of playing. Their conditions played a huge, huge partner today's game.
I don't really think the Cleveland Browns are a great,
good team at all. I think the conditions kind of
saved them today.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
Throwing shade at a team that just beat you after
you was throwing hands before you threw the shade in
an interview. It's not really a good look, I'll say
super quickly and I'll turn it over to you, TJ.
But to me, like I would say, have a little
bit more you know, professionalism about you. They beat you.
They had to play in the same weather conditions that
(33:21):
you played in and deal with the same things that
you had to deal with in the game. Uh, they
have not been a good team up to this point,
So why would you allow a team that hasn't shown
to be a good team, uh, be able to take
it to you and beat you in the elements the
way that they did. By the way in a divisional game,
(33:42):
I thought it was a bad look. What's your what's
your take? Pickens has been one that has come up
quite a bit in the media in terms of almost
like he's the new the new iteration of of Antonio
Brown and you know, the mister ct T or CTS representative, Like,
(34:02):
what's your take on them?
Speaker 2 (34:05):
I mean, he can feel they're not a bad team.
Their record says they or they aren't a good team.
Their record says that. Now you can't to me, you
can never talk about the conditions ever, because both teams
played in the same conditions, Like both teams played on
the same field at the same time, in the same conditions.
(34:28):
Y'all had the same amount of opportunities that they had.
They just took advantage of them. You guys didn't. And
so it's frustration, that's all that is. That that's frustrating.
The Browns record says they are a bad team, but
you lost to a team that you were expected to beat.
Many expected you to beat them, and people, oh, the
(34:51):
Pisboro Steelers may be the best team in the AFC.
They were getting that type of hype when they be
the last and then now you kind of get brought
back down to life. And so I don't mind it.
He's a young dude, but eventually he's gonna have to
mature because you're just gonna rub some people the wrong
way if you continue to act this way. But it's
(35:16):
to me, it's pure frustration. I don't I don't even
have any skin in the game, and I get frustrated
watching games. I can imagine playing it.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Mm hmm, well, I don't know. I thought that that
was a poor form moment for Pickings. I think he
should do a little bit better because he is Uh,
in a lot of ways, the you know, the guy
on the team, he is the go to guy, is
the amazing player for this team. But hey, everybody is
(35:45):
entitled to their opinions. I guess.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Yeah, Well, we'll take a quick break and we're going
to continue the football talk on the other side of it. Uh.
The Buccaneers, they're they're getting their guy back, mister Evans
will be returning. Can this help them moving forward? We'll
talk about that this Fox Sports Radio. This is up
on game. We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (36:09):

right after we get off of the air. Before we
wrap up this hour of football, we'll be talking Aaron Rodgers.
We'll be talking Woody Johnson and Jets at the top
of the next hour. But let's finish it off here
with the conversation about the Buccaneers just super quickly. TJ.
(38:23):
I'm looking at what the Buccaneers have left. They got
the Giants, the Panthers, the Raiders, then the Chargers, the Cowboys,
the Panthers and the Saints. And the Saints are ahead
of them right now in the standings. I feel like,
or excuse me, the Falcons are head right now by
two games. All right, it's they have a six and
(38:44):
five record. The Buccaneers have a four and six six record.
I think that the Falcons have a much harder go
of it. They now have to and they're trending in
the wrong direction. TJ. By the way, they'll have the
Chargers coming up. They will also have the Vikings, then
the Raiders, then the Giants, which those two are manageable.
(39:07):
Then they have the Commanders, and then they have the Panthers.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
Again.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
I can see the Falcons getting three games out of
their final games that are coming up. But I ultimately
feel as though this Tampa Bay team has a golden
opportunity to be able to make a run for the
division and the NFC South. What say you?
Speaker 2 (39:28):
They obviously gonna have to get guys back healthy, specifically
Mike Evans, but I don't know what's going on with
the Falcons man. If I would have to say who's
the pick? Preseason, I thought the Falcons had the better
the best team, the better team and anybody in the division,
and I'm gonna stay with that. I would say, if
the Falcons can play the brand of football they are
(39:51):
playing early on, where they were winning and losing their
competitive in every game, Kirk Cousins, stop with the turnovers
and try to play as clean as football as you play.
I think it's an uphill battle for the Tampa Bay Bucks,
even when Mike Evans comes back. Obviously Godwin is out
for he's lost for the season. Is soul. Yeah, it's
not gonna be easy when you look at player for player,
(40:14):
I feel like the Falcons have the best team, but
you can't be turning the ball over as much as
Kirk Cousins has turning it over if you want to
win that division. But I had the Falcons to win
the division in the preseason and I'm gonna stick with it.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
I think they can possibly pull it out.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
No Diddy.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Speaking of the Falcons, but they've just been playing so poorly.
I think they leave the door open for the Saints
and the Buccaneers and getting Mike Evans back. This this
Buccaneers team has been scrappy. They have they have shown
the ability to be in the games and potentially win
(40:57):
the games that they're in, And to me, I feel
like that that's something that maybe should be kind of
looked at. Like, listen, the forty nine ers, they eked
one out, they beat them by three points. You play
the Chiefs before. That was actually a competitive and a
close game if you ask me, TJ. And so to me,
(41:19):
maybe the biggest the biggest thing here that we're looking
at is that they've been on such a big losing streak.
Their last win came against the Saints, and that was
as many weeks, you know what, three four weeks. You know,
you lose to the Ravens. That's a tough game. You
lose to the Falcons. You needed that one because now
you don't have the tiebreakers, so you got to take
(41:41):
it to them. But they're going in the wrong direction.
And then you lose to the Chiefs and the Niners,
which this Niners team, if you're playing them this week
versus last week, they probably get that win. So I
don't know, TJ. I think that the schedule sets up
for them to be able to make a run. Like
I said, the Giants, the Panthers, the Raiders, you know,
I feel like the only real tough one they're going
(42:02):
to have is the Chargers really moving forward, and that
would be it. So they could do it. We'll see
if it happens. We're charging in the hour two. Just
make sure you stay locked in. It's TJ. Huitchman's out.
I'm LeVar Arrington. This is up on game and you're
listening to Fox Sports Radio, So make sure you say
dialed in because we will be talking Aaron, Rodgers and
(42:25):
Woody at the start, and well we'll have cuffs on.
It's Fox Sports Radio up on game. We'll be right
back
