Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
We'll living the dream once again here on a fabulous
sports Saturday. This is Fox Football Saturday and we're broadcasting
live from the ti iraq dot com studios. Ty iraq
dot com. We're gonna help get you there and I
match selection fast red shipping free road has a protection
over ten thousand recommended installers ti iraq dot com. The
way tire buying should be. Well, Moncey's doing everything today.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
I'm doing a little bit of a double deban.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yes, that's well, if anyone can do it all, how
is it to have that reputation that Moncey could do that,
She can do that, and she could do that, and
that and that and that.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
You know, it's one of those things where I'm a
jack of all trades, just not a master at none.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Maybe, but that's not a bad thing.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
How about master of all. We have a very interesting
day in college football going on right now, monsey Y, Yes,
we do. Coming up in our next hour, our buddy
Aaron Torres is going to be We're gonna start breaking
down this twelve school tournament that we're gonna see first time. Obviously,
to have this kind of expansion in determining a national champion,

(01:10):
a true national champion in Division one college football. But
right now we're keeping our eye on these scores around
the nation. Penn State has just taking the lead back
from Minnesota twenty three to twenty two inside four minutes
ago in the third quarter in that game, but Minnesota
smelling upset at home. Arizona State is leading BYU now

(01:31):
twenty eight to fifteen. BYU just scored a touchdown BYU
of course right now atop the Big twelve. But if
they losed Arizona State, guess what. Arizona State puts themselves
in a position to be in the playoff. And Colorado
is now trailing Kansas thirty to twenty one, and Colorado

(01:53):
very much in the same position as BYU. They both
came and tied at six to one and Big twelve
play and we've been talking about, you know, Deon Sanders
and the job he's done at Colorado, amazing turnaround. But
if BYU and Colorado both lose today, Arizona State obviously
would tie them and Iowa States also in the mix.

(02:14):
So one of these schools, and probably only one of
these schools, will come out of the Big twelve into
the tournament.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
The fact that you're able to keep everything in track
like that is amazing to me because I thought with
a twelve team playoff format it was going to be
less problems, but it's more money, more problems when it
comes to this, I I it's messy, but I like it,
maybe because.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I don't care. I like it, but I feel like
it's very messy.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Well, it is messy, and there's a lot of money
at stake, there's no question about that. And we you know,
we talked earlier about like a BYU getting some favorable
calls in that Utah game at the time keep them undefeated.
We look back at Miami. Obviously Miami Florida who won
today against wake Forest didn't looked great, but they got
the W and they got unfortunate calls earlier in the

(03:01):
year to keep them undefeated out of the ACC. So
the fear factor going into this first tournament is that
the SEC and the Big ten we're just going to
dominate in terms of teams they're going to make in
the tournament. Now, today we had Indiana. It's been a
great story. They were undefeated, they're ten, and now I'm
watching the beginning of that game. They scored first, and

(03:22):
they score easily. They scored easily, and then they stopped
Ohio State on a fourth down at the four yard line,
up seven to nothing. You're like, wow, yes, is Indiana's day.
It was not their day.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
It quickly changed.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
They got blown out of this game thirty eight to fifteen,
and without any real quality wins on their ledger, you
have to wonder are they still there?

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Well, you know, head coach Kurt Signetti, who just got
that extension and that nice chunk of change, was asked
about that right after the game, and he like scoffed
at the question. He was like, of course, I don't
even know how to answer that. He scoffed at the question.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Do they belong in the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Well, they'll get a big break at Penn State loses.
That's sort of the key right there. Penn State right
now again leading at Minnesota twenty three to twenty two,
three forty three to go in the third quarter. But
at this point, if you're Indiana, you need Penn State
to lose, yeah, because you want to be that number
three team. Looks like around a collision course to Oregon

(04:24):
and Ohio State. Playing the Big Ten championship game. You
know those schools will be in, But how many teams
out of the Big Ten are going to make it?

Speaker 3 (04:34):
That's the big question.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
And hey, look at the SEC right now Texas League
in Kentucky, they seem to be in good shape. At
how about Ole Miss today also losing? They came in
as the number nineteen on the road against Florida. Third loss.
Bye bye, They're done.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
They should be done.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Oh, they're done, They're done. You think, so three losses
is a lot to ask to get into this tournament.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
It's the SEC that it's even a question right now,
But it is the SEC all that?

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Well, that's that's the other question. You're asking all the
right questions that I don't know the answers to you.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I mean, I look at out I'll put it the
the eyeball test with Alabama and Georgia tells me they're
not at the level that we saw within the last
couple of years. M So that would be my gut
reaction is no, that the SEC is not all that.
So we're gonna have a lot of questions coming up
a little bit later on in the show. By the way,
Tennessee won big today, but against against UTIP some of

(05:28):
these late season games, these non conference games, or they
sneak in the blowout wins. Not doing these teams any favors.
I can promise you that, right.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
We're not impressed by this.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
No, we're not impressed.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
And then coming up here at four o'clock on the
west coast, seven o'clock on the East coast, we're gonna
have Army undefeated on the road against Notre Dame. Remember
this about Notre Dame. They come in ranked number six,
they have one loss to Northern Illinois at home. Watched that,
mind see, it was like, did they just lose at

(06:03):
home to Northern Illinois?

Speaker 4 (06:08):
It happened?

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Well, how does that sit with the committee?

Speaker 4 (06:11):
You know, and we've talked about this, how difficult it
is to really weigh the wins and the losses when again,
perfect example of Tennessee today, it's like, how much does this,
you know, up this huge fifty six to zero win
over Utah really matter when you have other closer matchups, Like,
I don't know how you weigh what, I truly don't.
I'm glad I'm not part of this committee because I

(06:31):
don't know what you weigh more. Is it your schedule
is at the conference? Is it how many teams you
blew out?

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I don't know how. I don't know how you weigh this.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Be careful what you wish for. That's what I'm gonna
say right now. Well, I'm saying this because again, and
I was talking a couple of people about this, and
again we'll have Aaron Torres talking about this in the
next hour. For the four schools that will get a bye,
because we see it in the NFL. Sometimes those buys
have been costly for teams. They get a little out

(07:03):
of rhythm, and then you're going up against the team
that's coming off a big win. And that's the professional level.
I can only imagine on the collegiate level that it
could be next step. We could have upsets galore in
this tournament and all of a sudden, you're like, wow,
are they really the best team? But hey, we've had
that in the NCAA basketball Tournament. I've pointed this out

(07:25):
many many times over the years since nineteen eighty two,
that's over forty years ago, only six times as the
team ranked number one in the country going in the
tournament actually won the national championship. We don't think about
that because we follow the tournament for three weeks and
then you just get to the end and you're like,
all right, so they're the national champions and you almost forget, like, well,

(07:47):
who was the favorite going in? This may be the
case here because again we're gonna have three weeks of games,
actually four weeks of games with the opening rounds, so
it's gonna be a long process. We'll see out plays out.
I don't think there's any favorites right now. I just
smell upsets all over them.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
That's really what it seems like.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
And the more that we have upsets on a week
two week pass, that's gonna just make it even worse.
Like if Penn State loses today, that's.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Huge, Oh well, that would be big for any.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
And Penn State has already been kind of like criticized
as to like, why are they ran so high based
on their strength of schedule?

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Well, give me a quality win. I mean, I don't know, again.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
But that's anything as a quality loss.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
We don't have a strong year this year. We just don't. Yeah,
with all due respect to Oregon, by the way, we're
down to two undefeated teams now, Oregon and Army and
Armies on the road against Notre Dame right now. So
this is this is a very it's it's so funny
because last year you felt like, all right, we had
this question about an undefeated Florida State team whether or
not they should be in the tournament without their starting quarterback.

(08:58):
And you know, as it turned down, they were bypassed.
Even though they won out players sat out that Bowl game.
They got blown out. Of course this year and nine
a nine for Florida State.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yeah, what change?

Speaker 2 (09:11):
What a change?

Speaker 6 (09:12):
Gange.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
So we got a lot of NFL we're going to
get to coming up. Adam Kaplan's going to be joining us.
I do want to slip in a quick note here
because it was awards week in Major League Baseball and
Shoho Tani was named the National League No Valuable Player unanimously.
There were a couple of things about this vote. One,

(09:35):
he's the first DH ever to win the MVP award.
Didn't play a single play in the field, not one,
not a single play in the field a DH. That's
all he did.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
But he was effective.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
He was effective with a fifty to fifty season. He's
also the third time in his last four years that
he's been unanimous. He's the only guy ever to be
the unanimous MVP more than once, and now he's done
it three times.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Yeah, it's crazy to think of him doing this for
the Angels, where I said, you know, two years ago,
I was like, I don't think we are giving enough
credit to a show Hey ATONI is.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Doing with the Angels, And it's because he was with
the Angels.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
So it's like hard to focus on a player on
a team that's not that successful. And now here he
is with the Dodgers first year wins and it's like,
now people are actually seen how great he is.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Well, that was the argument about him, and you know
Mike Trout with the Angels as well, where you have
these war numbers that are off the charts and everything
else and your team's not a playoff team. Are you
really that valuable? How valuable could you be if your
team doesn't even get into the postseason. Obviously not a
problem with show Hey this year because he was part
of a team that, you know, before the playoffs had

(10:46):
the best record in Major League Baseball.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
I don't even it's just crazy to think it's going
to be studied one day, how Mike Trout and Show
hey Atani were on the Angels and only one playoff
appearance for Mike Trout and none.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
For sure, like that has to be study.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
There's got to be a science there, and they combined
for v and there has to.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Be a reason.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Somebody needs to study that and give us the answer
because it just makes no sense whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Well, you gotta have other players, I mean that the
bottom line is you can on you know, Show Heyotani
over the last three years prior to coming to the
Dodgers was not only the Angel's best hitter because try
it have been hurt, he was also the best pack their.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
Best pitcher and was just doing ridiculous things honestly, Like,
I don't get how that happened of literally no playoff
appearances because I didn't think that the Angels rest of
the roster was garbage, but they had a lot of injuries.
They just they went through a lot of injuries.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Yeah when Dome was another guy that got all the time,
and you know, it was a mess, but unmelliable. I mean,
we are seeing history, no question about that with Show
Hey Otani. Three MVPs in four years years and all
of them unanimously I know that is absolutely crazy. All right,
coming up on the other side, we are going to

(11:59):
get into some NFL. But first football fans a reminder

And is bringing Sexy back.

Speaker 7 (13:08):
I am indeed I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Of course, you are back in his normal time slot.
You know, he's a very busy guy. But last week,
you know, we had a delay an hour. Not today.
The great Adam Kaplan is joining us. All right, Adam,
let's get right to it. Give us the future of
Daniel Jones.

Speaker 8 (13:25):
He'll be backing up somewhere later this season. That's the future.
What else you need to know?

Speaker 9 (13:29):
All right?

Speaker 2 (13:30):
All right, let let's go back to this decision by
the Giants demote him. I remember I think I brought
up DeVito early in the year. Did I not bring
this up with Adam? Yes, and you assured me that
was never going to happen, that Tommy DeVito was never going.

Speaker 8 (13:44):
To be guess what, five people that were the Giants
did not know about this.

Speaker 7 (13:47):
Just let you know. They didn't know that there was
going to be a skipping.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
All right, Well, let's all right, let's let's let's let's
bring it out because obviously Drew Locke was brought in.
So how do we end up with Tommy DeVito as
the quarterback in the New York Giants?

Speaker 8 (14:01):
I would say this coaching staff not as high on
Drew Locke as maybe the front office was or is.

Speaker 7 (14:07):
I'll leave it at that.

Speaker 8 (14:08):
I can't go much further that just to tell you
that there's a difference of opinion on who should be
the backup or should be actually starting, and the coaching
staff made the call it's gonna be. Tommy Dedavito was
the third string quarterback, never active for a game. This
is kind of unheard of, to say the least. This
is probably the best way to put it. There's a
lot going behind the scenes with the Giants. This is
not the only problem that they're dealing with. But yeah,

(14:30):
Tommy Davideo has no future as a starting quarterback. He's
a marginal, low end number two quarterback. He can run,
He's a movement quarterback. But what happens with backup quarterbacks,
particularly number three, is a r un directed for agents.
So longer they play, the worse they are. And that's
what happened with Tommy DeVito last year. He came in
like a bolt of lightning, and then as he kept playing,
kept playing, then you solid deficiencies come out.

Speaker 7 (14:51):
He doesn't have very good arm, but he can move.
He is athletic.

Speaker 8 (14:54):
He likes to throw on the run. That's what I'm
told is his best attribute. But they're a nightmare. It's look,
if you look at the quarterback position. I'm actually working
on this for my TV appearance tomorrow for Sports Grid.
There are more teams being in quarterback next year. I
started quarterback, and you probably thought coming into the season
some things have gone kind of south, not expecting like

(15:15):
they thought.

Speaker 7 (15:16):
It would go.

Speaker 8 (15:16):
And then you got some teams feeling really good about themselves,
like Denver where Boneck is playing back, and they probably
thought he would this early in the season. A lot
of scouting people are kind of surprised at how well
he's playing. Anthony Richardson kind of rescued himself last week
against the lowly Jets, played very well, by the way,
after getting benched. It's been quite the season at the
quarterback position, to say the least.

Speaker 7 (15:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
Actually, I have a quarterback question for the Dallas Cowboys.
Sure when are we we going to see Trey Lance?
And if the answer is never, why it is really weird.

Speaker 7 (15:47):
Marxi. This is another one. What do you have to lose?

Speaker 3 (15:50):
That's what I'm wondering.

Speaker 8 (15:51):
You're not going in the playoffs, there's no chance in it.
Why not take a look at him, especially.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Like it seems like they're going to have even less
players available for this Sunday game, Like you're not going to.

Speaker 8 (16:01):
Yeah, and he's actually a way better athlete. Yeah, I'm
a little bit surprised because look, when you look at
their quarterback situation, this is another team. Cooper Rush is
an older, sort of journeyman backup quarterback. He's played one
good game of his career and was actually really good
against the Vikings where they decided off the Blitze. Been

(16:22):
talking to the Vikings about that game. They were kind
of stunted how well he played. But since then he's
not played well. He looked really bad last week, even
worse against the Eagles where he simply didn't see the
rush at all. And Trey Lance. Look, I know from
behind the scenes he's not looked great. But as you said,
and I agree with you, there's nothing to lose. This
is another team where I don't quite understand what they're

(16:43):
thinking is I know Kove Rush has been there, and
they know this quarterback. You know, he's a god that
they've kind of groomed to be the long term backup.
But again, they know who he is. That's the point
of this discussion. You know who the quarterback is. He's guys,
he's he turns thirty two. Actually he just turned thirty one.
Excuse me, he's again. They're not learning anything. In fact,

(17:08):
he's got It's worse probably than they expected to be.
So this is another team that you kind of scratch
your head. Now, my prediction would be that eventually Lance
will play at some point the season.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
He has to. There's no other reason. You make a
good point.

Speaker 8 (17:22):
They've got offensive line Zach Martin's not playing, receiver problems.
They're beat up on both sides of the football. It's
time to turn the page and start looking to the future.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
All right, Let's talk about another team desperate for a victory,
and they're in a tough slot. That's the forty nine
Ers on the road against the Packers. No brock Party.
Brandon Allen, Brandon Allen career record as a starter two
and seven, hasn't started a game in three years. How
much trouble are the forty nine ers in right now?

(17:51):
Is it conceivable? Yeah, that this forty nine er team
is not even going to make the playoffs.

Speaker 8 (17:56):
It's so funny you said that because I was asked
to sort of to kind of restock the player that
like the NFC and AFC just about how I see it.
The rest of the way, I don't. I'm going really
back and forth, Steve. Right now, if I had to say,
I don't think they'll get in. Why Brandon Ayak out
for the season. This mysterious right shoulder innge with Brock Perdey.

(18:19):
The MRI was clean. He has inflammation. They thought he'd
just rebound well and he didn't, and they made a
decision not to move Josh Dobbs by the way over
Brandon Allen recently. They're not going to do that. They're
going to stick with Brandon Allen. You saw George Kittle.
Boy life without George Kittle last week was not good.
He's going to play this week. They really struggled in
the middle of the field, finding those holes and seams

(18:40):
of his own defenses. They really need him. Last week
didn't play. Nick Bosa's out. He's had this hip entry
for several weeks. Shaverius wore the best corner, arguably the
best corner. He's dealing with this awful tragedy in his life.
So he started practicing this week, but he's not going
to play.

Speaker 7 (18:55):
Guys.

Speaker 8 (18:55):
They're in a tough way right now. Steve and McCaffrey
didn't look great last week. There this is a very
worthy discussion. I'm looking towards saying they're not going to
get in. The Cardinals, another team that the everyone and
their mother, and I'm raising my hand. I didn't see this.
I can't believe. I get kudos to James Connor, who's
been unbelievable. Usually don't get bet at running back in

(19:17):
her late twenties. He has nobody. The Cardinals are like
the team that time forgot. Nobody really follows him nationally,
but they're a pretty good.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
Football team and they're doing it with al Marvin Harrison
Junior really doing much.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
He comes to He says that because.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
He's on my fantasy so he's on.

Speaker 7 (19:33):
For fantasy Monci. He's been okay.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
He hasn't big qu okay mill Carton.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
Yeah, he hasn't met the hype. He's been good, but
not great.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Ida.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
That's and that's what I mean by that that I
think there was such hype. I mean I wanted the
Chargers to take him, and I was all mad when
they didn't take him in the first round.

Speaker 7 (19:46):
But Glad mccauckey's doing really well, doing really well.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
In fact, what do you know about is he going
to play? Do you do you have.

Speaker 7 (19:52):
Any mccaucky's mccaucky's playing.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
He playing for sure.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Okay, okay, I thought I read that he was questionable.

Speaker 8 (19:57):
But Quinn Johnston is you know the other state. I
didn't like him. They wouldn't play him. That he's been revived.
Hereat They have a great run scheme with Greg Roman
their offensive coordinator, like they're another team. The oddsmakers gave
him eight and a half wins. They're absously going to
go over that. This is another good story, now I
should have I think when we looked at that team,
I think we probably missed the Jim Harball factor. And

(20:18):
we can't wait for the brothers Harball on Monday night.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
Yeah yeah, Let's move here quickly to the NFC South
because the Falcons got crushed last week by the Broncos
and their schedule, their strength of schedule is not that
easy to finish out, while the Buccaneers, getting Mike Evans back,
have a I think an easier schedule. Any chance that
Tampa Bay takes the NFC.

Speaker 7 (20:42):
South, Yeah, it'll be hard.

Speaker 8 (20:43):
But Jamel Dean, by the way, the bucks best corner
was activated off IrDA, so he's going to play. That's
huge for them because their secondary is not played well. Yeah,
the Falcons, the problem is not their offense, it's their defense. Rahemos,
Raheem Marris's defense.

Speaker 7 (20:58):
I expect to be better. It's not. It's actually underchief.
They have no pass rush.

Speaker 8 (21:03):
Yeah that I could absolutely see the Bucks taking it,
and you know they've been beat up physically a little bit.
You know they're not going to frisk god Win the
rest of the season. That's a problem. But getting Dean
back will help and the Bucks. Look, if you if
you look at the Bucks schedule the rest of the way,
I think it's Honestly, I think it's a little bit
better because you got the Giants, Panthers, Raiders, Cowboys, Panthers, Saints. Yeah,

(21:24):
I would if I had to pick. That's one game
that I'm gonna reshuffle with the deck and one team
I'm gonna pick, I have the Bucks of the Falcons.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
So last time I'm doing LA TV and I'm previewing
the prime time doubleheader on consecutive days at Sofi Stadium
Sunday Night football Eagles at the Rams, followed by the
Ravens at the Chargers. It is hard to believe that
this is the Rams ninth year back in LA and

(21:53):
the Chargers eighth year in LA. How's that going for
the league? I mean, right now, both these teams obviously
employ contention for the most part, though for both these teams,
they have struggled to really expand their fan base. It's
been a slow process, even with the Rams winning a
Super Bowl a few years ago. But it is obvious

(22:13):
that this league is hell bent on making LA the
capital of the National Football League in terms of their
league office, in terms of the NFL network, in terms
of everything. I mean, they are spotlighting Sofi Stadium. How's
that working?

Speaker 7 (22:31):
Well?

Speaker 8 (22:31):
I could tell you that the Philadelphia contingent last year
at the game at so Far when the Eagles won
in there in Week five and October.

Speaker 7 (22:39):
Eight in one Yeah, heavy Eagle fan contingent.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 8 (22:42):
Chargers have never had a great following, But because the
league knew that the Chargers didn't have a home, that
it was just They're going to have to work it out,
and they did it with the Rams and so far.
Look they It's funny because when you go to Charges
training camp, they call it the Battle for La. And
I remember talking to someone high up in the front
officers said, Man, no matter how well we do, we
just cannot win the fans here. The Chargers they're kind

(23:05):
of like the Texas Rangers of the NFL. They're the
kind of team you know they'll be good, but they
don't have a strong following it. There's really nothing the
Chargers can do about it. I don't honestly, even if
the Charger would win a Super Bowl someday, which they
could out of Jim Harball, they're not taking La. It's
not And honestly, Stef, you know you've been in that
market for decades. The Rams. They have a stronger fan

(23:26):
base in the Chargers, but it's never going to be grated.

Speaker 7 (23:28):
No, for whatever reason.

Speaker 8 (23:30):
That market and dealing with both franchises, and I remember
talking to the Rams after they won Super Bowl their
ticket increase, their tickets. The season ticket increase was good,
but it wasn't as good as they thought it would be.
To be honest with you, said, no, I would agree.
It's not quite what they thought. But again, the both
teams are competitive. It's kind of weird both back to
back in primetime games and both, by the way, should
be pretty good games.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Well, it's the only market out there with the NFL
franchise and they have two of them where the NFL
team doesn't dominate. You know, this is the Dodgers and
it's the Lakers. After that, it's a scramble for an audience,
say the college teams.

Speaker 8 (24:03):
To be honest with you, if both college teams are great,
they're gonna get more attention than in.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
The mid two thousands when USC rattled out thirty four
straight wins with Lionard and Pete Carroll and ragel Bush.
Believe me, they were the hottest sticking down. All right,
great stuff, it's always Adam, Thanks so much. Well you
gott talk to you next week.

Speaker 7 (24:21):
Thanks.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
All right, that's Adam Kaplan. All right, you know what
it's time to see what is trending right now. And
Moncey Belanos, how you've been.

Speaker 10 (24:31):
Oh, I'm good, just hanging out here really, you know,
keeping track of everything like Minnesota, who's trying to score
and retake the lead from number four Penn State right
before our eyes are in the red zone.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
They are losing twenty six to twenty two with about
seven minutes to go, but again they're knocking on the
door to score. Kentucky scored again, but number three Texas
still on top twenty four to fourteen early in the
fourth quarter BYU scored again fourteenth ranc BYU, but number
twenty one Arizona State is still on top twenty eight
to twenty three. Seven minutes left in that one. Kansas

(25:02):
scored against Steve so sixteenth ranked Colorado, losing thirty seven
twenty one. Now they do have the ball, plenty of
time left, about ten minutes to go.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
They're approaching the red zone.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
Shador sanders two hundred and fifty one yards and three
touchdowns in the air, two of them of course to
Travis Hunter as eight catches one hundred and twenty five
yards and those two touchdowns the citadel, not to be
confused with the outlets. Not far from here, they are
getting crushed by number seventeen Clemson fifty one to fourteen
with about five minutes left. Eighteen South Carolina on top
of Wolford thirty five to twelve early in the fourth

(25:37):
and number twenty three Missouris beating Mississippi State thirty one
to twenty five minutes left in the third quarter. What
happened earlier today in college football? Well, the undefeated Hoosiers
came out swinging against number two Ohio State, scoring and
they're opening drive. But the buck guys came alive in
the second half, handed Number five Indiana their first loss
of the.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Season thirty eight to fifteen.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Will Howard twenty two of twenty six for two hundred
and seven yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the win.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Number eight Miami crushed Wake Forest forty two to fourteen.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
Cam Ward to twenty seven of thirty eight, two hundred
and eighty yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and he also
ran for a touchdown. Florida had a big upset over
Number nine oh missed twenty four to seventeen, likely knocking
the Rebels out of college football playoff contention. Number ten
Georgia Cruz pass Massachusetts fifty nine to twenty one. Thirteen
SMU beat Virginia thirty three seven. They clinched a spot

(26:27):
in the ACC Championship game with that win, and number
twenty five Illinois Did you watch this one?

Speaker 3 (26:32):
They survived against Rutgers thirty eight to thirty one.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
They were down by one with fourteen seconds left fourth
and thirteen at Rutcords forty yard line. They lined up
for a fifty three yard field goal, then a timeout
was called before the snap, and then they decided to
go for a touchdown and get it and they won.
So instead of winning by that field goal that maybe
or not they would have hit, they went for the
touchdown and won thirty one.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
I know you missed, you miss calling it.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
This is college football, it really is.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
It really is.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
And number eleven Tennessee crushed UTEP fifty six zero.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
A little NFL news for you.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
The Panthers place running back Miles Sanders on injured reserve.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
They do face the Chiefs this weekend.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
The Buccaneers downgraded left tackle Tristan Wurf's for their game
on Sunday against the Giants, who officially waived quarterback Daniel Jones.
He's expected to clear waivers on Monday. They did sign
Tim Boyle off the practice squad, and the Cowboys already depleted,
they're going to be more depleted. No right tackle Zach Martin,
no cornerback Trayvon Diggs for their game against the Commanders.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
Thank you, Monsky, Thank you Monzi. Great stuff. Well, check
in with you in about half a second. All right,
once again, we're coming you alive from the tai iraq
dot com studios. All right, Monzy, as you can see,
he is doing everything.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
That's what I should have said, Mary just said, back
to us.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Fox Football Saturday. By the way, I was listening a
little bit earlier with that Alex and Carmen talking about
the Dion Sanders move or non move to the day
Dallas Cowboys. Let's make this infinitely clear. Deon Sanders is
not going to be the next coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
That's how I feel.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
I mean, it makes absolutely no sense. First of all,
I get the idea Shadur Sanders has had one coach
in his entire lifetime since he was a little kid,
his daddy. His dad has been his only coach. I
get that. But the idea that the Dallas Cowboys would
draft Shadur Sanders now again, Shaduur Sanders is the overwhelming

(28:34):
favorite to be the number one overall pick in the draft.
In fact, we talk about Cam Wore, we talk about
Dylan Gabriel talk about these quarterbacks. None of these guys
are projected to be high first round picks for a
variety of reasons. Shaudur Sanders is the Cowboys right now,
probably staring at anywhere from seven to nine in the draft.

(28:55):
I don't know, they could lose out. Maybe they can
get him the top five. But you just signed your
core back to a contract paying him sixty million dollars
a year. That's right, and as we have seen with
the Cowboys, they have a lot of problems outside of quarterback.
So the idea that you would eat contract, start over
again with a new quarterback, and then bring in Dion

(29:16):
Sanders to be his coach, none of that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
It doesn't. It's just a sexy story in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (29:22):
Think about it, Dion Sanders going to the Cowboys with
this son.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
It's just a sexy story to talk about.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
But in reality, I don't know why you would want
to walk into such a dumpster fire. Like I'm not
saying that Dion can't eventually end up as a coach
in the NFL. I just feel like, right now, why
would you walk into a dumpster fire where you know
the owner? Jerry Jones is not going to give you
the power that maybe you want. And also you're.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Kind of a king right now in Colorado.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
You can eventually go and be an NFL coach. I
just don't see what the rush is exactly for Dion,
and I don't see it happening. It's if it does happen,
that would be crazy. But again, it's just it's a
sexy story. Like there's no there's no way around it.
That's how I'm gonna put it.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Well, here's the thing. He has total control of Colorado
exactly exactly. He won't have that with the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (30:16):
He's not gonna have that with the Cowboys. And like
you know, coaching coaching college men is different than coaching
men in the NFL. And I'm not saying that he
won't demand or get that respect because it is Deon
Sanders and he has done everything under the sun, and
he one hundred percent will get the respect, but it
is a little bit different. And the way you've just

(30:38):
kind of changed everything in Colorado, I just don't see
the rush when you know you can't eventually still be
the NFL coach and be your dad's coach.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
I mean, why not?

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Yes, Well, I again, if another team were to have
the number one overall pick and be looking for a coach, maybe,
but Deon's not going to give up that kind of
power like you said at Colorado, and he's never gonna
have that with the Dallas Cowboys. All right. Coming up
on the other side, speaking of great college players, it's

(31:11):
time for my Heisman update. Where do I stand with
my top three? You'll find out. This is Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot Com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Steve Harman and Montsiblanio's here Fox Football Saturday. We are
live from the tire Rag dot com studios. All right,
it is that time, all right, So we're getting down
to the nitty gritty here. When you think about it,
we got these conference championship games coming up in a
couple of weeks. That will be the final week to

(31:54):
make a decision on who's going to come away with
this year's Heisman Trophy.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
How are you feeling about your decision?

Speaker 2 (32:00):
I feel like I've been, you know, updating week after
week after week. But the biggest games are still to
be had.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Still to be hot.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
Okay, so you're not sold on anything yet, you're still
no clo.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
There we go, not even close. The games that will
decide the Heisman have yet to be played. That being said,
here is my current number three.

Speaker 8 (32:23):
Takes the Shotga has time to throw a fire towards
the gone hot touchdown.

Speaker 11 (32:28):
Chuck Hoby, George, it's absolutely delightful, George with the early
touchdown from cam Ward.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
That's the Hurricanes radio network. So here's the deal. Cam Ward,
amongst the quarterbacks, leads the nation in passing yards per game,
leads the nation in touchdown passes. But and his team's
only lost one game.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
Okay, but I feel like you have a butt like
there's so.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
There are a lot of quarterbacks could be in this
slot right now. The only reason I got cam Ward
at number three is that the numbers are just a
little bit better. He wasn't overwhelming today against wake Forest.
He hasn't been overwhelming the last couple of weeks. But
he's sort of the best of what has been an

(33:18):
underwhelming class at quarterback. Shardar Sanders is close, Dylan Gabriel
is close. All right, here's my current number two.

Speaker 7 (33:31):
Snapped the shadure quick trump deep Trump man in his face,
rears back fright, pu sit downfield. Travis is out.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
There, high in the air.

Speaker 12 (33:39):
He makes the crab in between two defenders inside the ten,
and the Buffaloes have got it. Col to co twenty
eight yard strike from Shadur Sanders to Travis Hunter.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
All right, that's Mark Johnson from lair field. Travis Hunter,
who seems to be number one most people's ballots. Right now,
it's my current number two. And losing at Kansas today
is not gonna help.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Yeah, and it.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Does look like they're gonna lose. I know there's still
five minutes to go, but it's been Kansas all game.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Well, here's the thing about Travis Hunter. Obviously plays both ways.
I get the argument that he has to be the
best player in the country if he can do all that,
But if his team doesn't make it to the conference
championship game, and they had a golden opportunity today, it
looks like they're gonna go down to defeat. It's gonna

(34:40):
hurt his chances. It's close. He's not out of it
by any stretch. Today. Obviously, eight catches, one hundred and
twenty five yards and two scores. Right now, I still
have Travis Hunter at number two. Here is my current
number one.

Speaker 11 (34:56):
Two tight hands and a wingback jem d behind Mattson.
So now moves over to the left side, hand off genty,
genty up the middle, Genty into the end zone for
his third touchdown of the night, the hat trick for
Ashton Genty.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
That's Bob Baeler from layer Field and Ashen Genty at
Boise State leads the nation and rushing, that's right, leads
the national purpoiseh yards leads the nation and scoring.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
He's just leading lead, Yeah, just leading it all.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Boise States nine to one in their one loss was
by three points to the number one ranked team in
the country, Oregon.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
And that's what we're talking about.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Are there any good losses there, any losses that you
know have good value?

Speaker 3 (35:39):
That was a good one.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
It was because he had almost twenty yards rushing and
three touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
Only losing by three like they were in it.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
So the problem for ash and Genty is very simple.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
What's the problem the coast quarterback?

Speaker 2 (35:52):
East Coast people don't get to see him playing. Oh,
you're right, Boisey Boise State plays mainly late games on
the West Coast. Story late out here East Coast doesn't
get to see this guy.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
You know, sometimes I don't even think about that, but yes,
we're here at eleven PM finishing a college football game.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
Sometimes.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Here's what's most impressive to me about Genty over the
last few weeks, so early in the air. You remember,
he had these ridiculous summary's avertating eleven twelve yards carry
right his last five games, he's grinding it out. He's
had at least thirty carries in each of the last
five games, so he has shown, Yeah, he's got that
breakaway abilities at I believe eight or nine runs this

(36:32):
year over fifty yards. That's great, But I want to
see a guy grind it out. And boys, he's been
in a couple of close games recently where they needed
him to just get tough yards. So this guy can
do it inside, he can do it outside. It's close.
But right now, Ashton Genty is my number one and
has been now for most of the year.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
I mean, his numbers have been consistent.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Yeah, maybe he's not averaging ten anymore, but but he
has been consistent, and I think that's the big part here.
So has Travis Hunter. And like you said, it's not
that he's out of it, but Colorado losing today to Kansas,
I would say it is something that you're gonna remember
think about when you think of Travis Hunter and the Heisman,
even though he's still amazing out there.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
But I'm with you, Ashton Genty right.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
Now to me is the clear right now, right now,
the clear Heisman.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
All right, We're watching Penn State in their game against Minnesota,
and it looks like Penn State's gonna pull this game out.
They have a twenty six to twenty five lead under
a minute ago clocks running. Minnesota has no time out,
So that is pretty much is Did you see that.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
Rushing yards in comparison of Kansas to Colorado?

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Did I read that right?

Speaker 2 (37:45):
Dude?

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Over three hundred for Kansas, under fifty for Colorado.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
See, this is the other thing about you know, a
one week Jaden Daniels last year won the Heisman Trophy
because his numbers were off the charts. LSU was not
in the SEC Championship game. LSU lost what three games
last year, but his numbers were so overwhelming that they
still gave him the heistman. I didn't you know. I

(38:11):
voted for Pennix because Washington was undefeated. He had beaten
Oregon twice and I felt that that was enough to
get him over the top. But some people are just
blinded by the numbers. It's not that Jayden Daniels is bad,
because obviously look what he's done so far in the NFL.
But this is the way I weigh on the Heisman Trophy.
I think the team's success has something to do with
it unless you have just ridiculous numbers. And this could

(38:36):
hold Travis Hunter back. I mean, if they lose this game,
which is they're gonna lose this game. They're down sixteen
to two and a half minutes to go on the
road to a four and six Kansas team. This is
an ugly loss for Colorado.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
This is an ugly loss. But I was right on
that graphic. So rushing yards for the Jayhawks three hundred
and twenty two for Buffalo's forty two. That's not good.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Well, I'm sure there's people arguing, well, wait a say,
and Travis Hunter has nothing to do with the Colorado
run defense. Sure you're right, yeah, But I mean part
of the Heisman is also about team success. It always
has been, it always will be. Yeah, and that's why
a guy like Ash and gents team's only lost one game,
and that to the number one team in the country,

(39:19):
and he had almost twenty yards rushing three touchdowns in
that game. That's why he's got it all right. Penn
State just got a first down and that is going
to run it out, So Penn State survives. That is
not good news for Indiana.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
No, no, it's not.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Because Aniana lost their first game of the year today
on the road badly to Ohio State. And you know,
their coach was pretty upset when people asked him about
his current status in terms of the playoff, like, oh,
you're not paying attention.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
He thought it was a ridiculous question to be asked
that today scoffed at it all right.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Now, we're also watching BYU and Arizona State. This is
the other game effect in the Big Twelve right now.
BYU and Colorado came and tied for the lead in
the conference. And it looks like Arizona State is going
to win this game. So BYU and Colorado go down
to defeat. We got much more on the college game
and the NFL coming up. This is Fox Football Saturday.

(40:20):
Roll along here on another busy sports Saturday. This is
Fox Football Saturday. We're broadcasting live from the ti iraq
dot com studios. Tire rack dot com. We're gonna get
you there. I'm att selection fast ree shipping free road
as a protection over ten thousand recommended installers, tire rack
dot com the way tire buying should be. All right,
We got a crazy end to this Arizona State BYU game,

(40:44):
very significant game in the Big twelve. Yes, Arizona State
now in the Big twelve as the old Pac twelve.
Just absolutely blew up the So what happened was BYU
down by five through an interception late about a minute
to go in the game, and Arizona State was looking
to run out the clock. So this was bizarre. They
end up with a fourth and goal at the BYU

(41:08):
forty four yard line. Now, how many times have you
even seen a fourth and goal to forty four?

Speaker 3 (41:12):
Not many?

Speaker 2 (41:12):
So they decided how their quarterback run backwards all over
the place. He took a twenty six yard loss. They
did a couple of these, and they thought they had
run out the clock with a couple of delay of
game penalties. But it turned out they didn't run out
the clock. There's actually one second left. And the problem

(41:38):
is this game is at Arizona State, and the fans
completely flooded the field, so they even took down the
goal post.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
Ohst already there is no goal post, but.

Speaker 4 (41:49):
There are thousands of fans on the field right now.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
They're trying to get them off. They're trying to fix
the goal post, and there's one second left.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
There is one second left, and BYU will have the
ball on a turnover of down. So again this is
the play. So Arizona State was basically trying to run
out the clock and they threw a pass which they
thought ran out the clock, you know, just in the air,

(42:21):
and the clock went down to zero's in the stadium.
But they reviewed the play and when the ball actually
landed incomplete, there was one second on the clock. So
they tore down the goalposts. They're trying to put the
goal post back up.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
Can you fix that quick?

Speaker 2 (42:38):
Well, first of all, no one's going to kick a
field goal. They need a touchdown and down five. If
this was a one point game, you really have a mess.
So the goal post they're not going to have an
impact on this game. Arizona State's coach is absolutely going bonkers.
But they have to literally clear thousands of people off
the field. Look at this on the right. This could
take hours.

Speaker 4 (42:59):
Yeah, and if people don't want to listen, like if
they just you know, they're like, we.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
Don't want to do this. The Wildcats are like, now
we're good.

Speaker 4 (43:06):
We're gonna we're gonna make this very difficult for you
to play this one second.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
Well, first of all, if they don't get the fans
off the field, they could be in danger of forfeiting
the game.

Speaker 4 (43:18):
Yeah, it just got interesting.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
It looks like they're clearing. It looks like they're clearing.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
Well, here's the thing. They can play at one end
of the field. All the fans are at this one end,
and they're basically completely inhabiting the end zone. There's no
way they're going to clear those fans out of the
end zone. No, no, So whenever direction they have to go,
they're gonna have to go in the direction the other direction.
This is crazy. The visual on this thing is absolutely

(43:45):
mind blowing. All right, So BYU's coach is going crazy here.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
There.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
I mean, it's I I know, the chances of BYU
pulling this off so far.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
Here's where it stands the Big Twelve right now. Crazy,
So with Kansas beating Colorado start of the day, BYU
and Colorado would tie for the conference lead at six
and one in the conference. So they both lose, Arizona
State would get to six and two, and later on
we've got Iowa State on the road against Utah, they

(44:22):
could get to six and two, so if they were
to win that game, assuming Arizona State actually wins this game,
we could have a four way tie for the top
spot in the Big Twelve. Messy, messy, messy, messy. I
don't know what the conversation is right now other than
the fact that there's one second left in BYU will
have a chance obviously for hail Mary or whatever play

(44:45):
they want to run it here. But this is an
absolutely nutty experience here for Arizona State. So again, what
happened was the Arizona State quarterback through a long pass
thinking that it was in the air long enough even
though it was going to land in complete to run
out the clock. But they reviewed the play and when

(45:06):
the ball hit the ground there was one second left,
So we are going to get one more play here.

Speaker 13 (45:13):
Out of BYU.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Out of BYU. This is crazy, This.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
Is super crazy. But I'm into it, and I think
you're right.

Speaker 4 (45:23):
I think they're going to only use half the field
because those fans weren't going that far. They weren't going
to their seats. They were just putting them to the
end of the field in the end zone.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
So BYU, I believe, was in the driver's seat to win. Well,
they were obviously in the tie break. They had the
tie break over Colorado to lead the Big twelve. What
are you going to do with these fans? There's no
way you can clear out. The fans are literally extending
from the back of the end zone out to about
the ten yard line at one end of the field.

Speaker 4 (45:56):
This will go crazy. If BYU pulls off a hailmet
right now.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
It would just be can you imagine, Oh, with the
fans already on the field.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
I'm gonna lose it. And I don't even care. I'll
lose it in here. See if they if they pull
this off? Like what? What a what an end to
the game, an unexpected end to the game.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
Are you going to the game on Monday?

Speaker 3 (46:20):
No, I'll be working here. But I was at the
Bengals Chargers game.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
You were, That's right, I were at that game. You
went after work that I did.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
I went over.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
First half was all blowout city and then all of
a sudden, what happened?

Speaker 7 (46:35):
And then, let me tell you.

Speaker 4 (46:36):
I had a friend who I played volleyball with who's
from Ohio and was not he's not a big football fan,
but you know, he's.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
A Joe Burrow fan, and so he went with his
friend and.

Speaker 4 (46:45):
We saw them right before halftime, had like a drink
with them, and he's like, you know, Sofi is so cool.
I think we're just gonna walk around a little bit
and then we're gonna leave because this game is over.
And I was like, well, if you should leave, and
he's like, okay, I won't leave. I'll just walk around.
And I was like, yeah, text me in a bit
and we can meet up again. Third quarter starts and
the Bengals score pretty quickly, pretty quickly, and I sent

(47:05):
him a text and I was like, tell me you
did not leave, and he's like already left him in
the car.

Speaker 5 (47:09):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
And I was like, Michael.

Speaker 2 (47:11):
And then they scored again.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
They scored again, and I told him. I was like, well,
now they're down by seven.

Speaker 4 (47:15):
So you messed up. You messed up again. He's not
a huge football fan, he's just from Ohio. Wanted to go,
but he could not believe that that happened.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
I told him.

Speaker 5 (47:24):
I was like, don't leave.

Speaker 4 (47:24):
It's it's the Chargers might charge and they didn't for
the first time, and how many years did we actually
see the.

Speaker 2 (47:31):
Charger you know what. I actually felt like in some
ways that did them a service.

Speaker 3 (47:37):
I agree with you, you know.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
To blow a lead like that and then still find
a way instead of being chargery and losing that game,
which we've seen in the past. Obviously that playoff game
a couple of weeks years ago to Jacksonville, to actually
win that game, agreed, was a departure from what we
normally see with the Chargers cut to.

Speaker 4 (47:57):
Hold on to a lead against a high offense team too,
you know what I mean, Like they just were scoring
whenever they wanted and Justin Herbert comes down in the
end and he hits lad McConkey.

Speaker 3 (48:09):
I think to get that first time, you're like, yes,
this is actually abny. The Chargers are not.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
Just as I'm making nervous that Jim Harbaugh, this week
is now calling Justin Herbert one of the greatest quarterbacks
in the history of the NFL, a guy who has
zero playoff wins.

Speaker 4 (48:24):
Well, of course it doesn't make me nervous. It excites
me as a Chargers fan. And I think Jim Harbaugh,
you know, like he knows what he's talking about. And
obviously you have to also remember it's his coach, so
he's going to maybe exaggerate on how he feels about
his quarterback. But Justin Herbert has had all of this
quote unquote potential and all of this hope and excitement
that we have not seen actually translate on the field.

(48:46):
You want to blame coaches, you want to blame him, whatever,
But this year it seems as though he is really
showing off his talent that we hadn't seen before, and
it's coming out every game little.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
By little more. And in this game against the Bangle
that was.

Speaker 4 (49:00):
Such a great win, I didn't care that you beat
me in the in the picks.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
We'll get to that a little bit later on.

Speaker 3 (49:07):
I didn't even care. I was just like, yes, the
Chargers did it. They I agree that.

Speaker 2 (49:12):
You do know, no one's ever beaten me?

Speaker 3 (49:14):
Well, you know, there's a first time.

Speaker 2 (49:15):
I mean, no one's ever lost to me, there's.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
A first ve for everything, all right, So this.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
Is the longest one second in the history of college football.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
It really is.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
So they are still talking about what they're going to
do in this one second in this game between Arizona
State and BYU. Essentially the incomplete pass which Arizona State
thought landed incomplete after time expired, there was actually one
second left. They had to clear all the fans, all
the Arizona State fans off the field. B YU will

(49:47):
get one play and that's it, a hail mayor play.

Speaker 7 (49:52):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
So this is this is really unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (49:58):
And you mentioned like they can get trouble right for
taking so long, But it's like.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
I don't know if they know, well, no, if they
if they just if they didn't want to and the
game the ball to the boy, where's the ball? You say,
the ball's at midfield. So yeah, I mean there's a
definite hail Mary chance. Yeah, no question about that. But
they're going to have to go in the opposite direction
of where they were going to go because all the fans.
They couldn't get all the fans off the field, and

(50:22):
so they're all gathered at one end of the field.
All right, So we're actually going to get a BYU.
Hail Mary right now? And can you imagine?

Speaker 3 (50:32):
No, I don't know. I okay, all.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
Right, So the quarterback is scrambling, he pros to the
end zone and it is oh my goodness, it's caught
by BYU. But at the three yard line. No, they're
calling it incomplete.

Speaker 7 (50:46):
That is it.

Speaker 2 (50:47):
Now the fans can restar in the field and Arizona
State has defeated BYU twenty eight to twenty three. So again,
now BYU Colorado, Arizona State, and Iowa State. If they
went on the road against Utah tonight, we'll have a
four way tie a top the Big twelve. All right.
So there's got to be something that can help us out.

(51:10):
How about Aaron Torris. Let's call him, all right, let's
get with our own Fox Sports Radios Aaron Torres to
explain us what this crazy day in college football has
done for the landscape of the twelve school playoff. This
is Fox Football Saturday. Steve Arbin and Monci Belanos Here
Fox Football Saturday. We are alive from the ti rag

(51:32):
dot Com studios Hey, don't forget after the show. Our
podcast is going up. So if you miss any of
today's show, check out the podcast. Just search Fox Sports
Radio wherever you get your podcasts, then follow rate and
review the podcast. Again, just search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcasts, and we'll see this show posted
right after we get off the air. All right, So

(51:52):
we're trying to make sense of where we're heading with
this college football playoff after a crazy day today, we're
down to two undefeated teams. One of them's on the
road right now. Army on the road against Notre Dame.
Will get you updated on that game. Indiana went down
in flames today. All hell has broken loose in the
Big twelve. So to help us figure this out of

(52:14):
where we stand currently in this twelve school playoff, we
are now bringing on a legend here at Fox Sports Radio,
no question about that. He won't ever say it, but
I will. The Great Aaron Taurres is joining us right now. Aaron,
thanks for joining us. How are you man?

Speaker 9 (52:31):
All right?

Speaker 5 (52:31):
Steve?

Speaker 9 (52:33):
If I have to, I'm a legend, all right, I'm
a legend. I said it that one. There we go, Hey,
real quick, Steve, Yeaheeve. You've been watching college football since
like the leather helmet, red grange stuff. Have you ever
seen anything? And you guys are in studio without sound,
do you understand how crazy and weird? Like the last

(52:54):
half hour in Tenthee with BYU and Arizona State was well.

Speaker 2 (52:57):
We are trying to make sense of it here. Aaron
saw that arizonas when you have a fourth and goal
at the forty four yard line, that in itself looks weird. Obviously,
as they were trying desk really to sort of run
out the clock, yes, and then you throw one last
pass thinking all right, just throw up in the air.
It's sort of like, you know, the end of a
basketball game, you throw it up in the air. Clock

(53:18):
runs out, right, except they ran back the clock and
when the incomplete pass landed, there was one second left.

Speaker 9 (53:25):
So yeah, first of all, to your point, they're trying
to run out the clock, but they they just kept
running backwards and it was like yeah on the broadcast
they were like yeah, I mean they could have just
like run a play and tried to score a touchdown
because obviously a touchdown fielded and then the kid, you know,

(53:46):
the kid drops back it's clearly you know, they took
a time out to set up to play. The quarterback
drops back and immediately throws it up and there was
like seven seconds left when he does it. You know, listen,
I'm far from you know, Tom Brady here, but like
you know, you got to run back a little bit further,
give yourself a little bit more time. They storm the field.

(54:07):
The goal posts are halfway down. I don't they must
be a retractable goal posts. And I'm just amazed they
got the field cleared off as quickly as they and oh,
by the way, they completed the sorry like six yards sholds.
So it was among the many crazy things today, that
was probably the craziest.

Speaker 4 (54:25):
I mean, another crazy thing that happened today Aaron BYU losing,
Colorado sure losing.

Speaker 3 (54:32):
So what's happening in the big twelve?

Speaker 9 (54:35):
I mean, what isn't happening in the big twelve? That's
a great question. What's funny is is that, like so,
Kansas was a preseason top twenty five team. First of all,
you guys all saw it today, but they don't have
a home stadium. They're playing at Arrowhead. I think they
had five losses by a touchdown or less. So they
just kept losing all these close games. They've now single

(54:56):
handily shaken off the entire conference title race. They're six teams.
There's four teams tied at six and two in the
league's standings. Three of them have lost to Kansas in
the last three weeks. And oh, by the way, I
don't even know who Kansas has to play next week,
but they have to win one more game to get
bull eligible. So you know, I'll be honest, Monzy Is,
I'm gonna have to pull out my pro tractor and

(55:18):
calculator before the show tonight when I'm out an eleven
Eastern to figure out who plays in the Big twelve
Championship based on next week. But it is by far
the craziest of all the championship races for sure.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
All Right, So I said before the season began, and
I've been saying throughout the year, Aaron, when people are
asking me, well, who do you like in the playoff?
I go, I have no clue because we've never seen
a playoff like this, Howard. Teams that are going to
have a bye going to be affected. We've seen it
in the NFL. Right team has a buye they come
out flat teams coming off a nice win. They go

(55:50):
in on the road and they get the big w
Right now, I look at Oregon, I look at Ohio State,
I look at Texas and then to me, there's a
drop off. Penn State barely survived against Minnesota. Indiana obviously
has no quality wins after getting blown out by Ohio State.
Notre Dame lost at home to Northern Illinois, and then

(56:11):
you got Alabama and you got Georgia Ole miss one
down today, this is going to be sloppy twelve. In fact,
I think there's gonna be a lot of people they're
gonna look at this twelve school field and say, what
did we sign up for?

Speaker 7 (56:27):
M hm?

Speaker 9 (56:29):
Well, and I was thinking that today is that you know,
first of all, Texas A and M is barely favored
at all. But and I think they could easily lose
that game. And like you even mentioned Ohio State and Texas, Steve,
It's like Ohio State didn't break three hundred yards of
total offense today until the final drive of the game
when Trayvon Henderson fell on the one yard line, And
it's like they weren't as dominant as that final score

(56:51):
indicated by the way yeah, and Texas really the last
two weeks against the bottom of the SEC hasn't been
dominant as well. So one, first of all, I agree
with everything he said in all seriousness. Like one is
that is that I don't think it's fair to even
know what to expect. I think the obvious thing is
who's going to be healthy, who can avoid those major injuries.

(57:13):
But two, I think it goes back to and Steve,
you and I have had these conversations for years. It's like,
even in the fourteen playoff era, there was usually like
usually most years there'd be two maybe three teams and
you're like, oh, those are really good. And even you
get to that fourth team and you're like, oh, you
know that team kind of lost its championship game or
they're not playing well or whatever. And now you're gonna

(57:33):
have a lot of that. So whether it is Indiana
that probably won't have a quality win, whether it's Notre
Dame with a really bad loss, I think we're gonna have.
It's gonna lead I think depending on how the next
two weeks go. Two and a half weeks ago, it's
kind of a crazy selection Sunday, But I think that
the bottom line is I don't think anybody that gets
left out after today with Ole miss picking up a

(57:56):
third loss, I don't think that any team is really
going to have a big leg to stand on feeling
like they got screwed if they get left out of
this field.

Speaker 4 (58:03):
Aaron, has there been a more surprising team than SMU.
I mean, they have clinched a spot in the AEC
Championship game with today's win.

Speaker 9 (58:13):
A great question. You've been doing your homewook, Moncie.

Speaker 3 (58:16):
I know I'm giant.

Speaker 9 (58:16):
I'm giant, Aaron, Well, and I'll say this is that
you know, they got made fun of because they basically
bought their way into the ACC, into the Power Conference
structure last offseason when the PAC twelve fell apart and
everybody's going everywhere, and they basically said we won't take
any TV money to be in the AEC, which is
literally unheard of. I mean, you know, you have schools taken,

(58:39):
you know, getting fifty sixty million dollars year. They said,
we'll take no TV money just because we want a
chance to play with the best teams in the best
competition in the sport. And here they are. You're right, Monti.
They clinched ACC championship game appearance, and right now they're
trending to play Miami. If they beat Miami, they're going
to that twelve team college football playoff. You know, listen,

(58:59):
I'm not one that's cutting the probably eight figure checks
to the athletic department because they're not getting any TV money.
So it's not my money, but I feel like it's
got to be money well spent. If you're one of
those big boosters that said, let me, let me write
a check to help offset not getting any TV money,
it's I'm actually one of the more wild stories that
probably isn't getting talked about enough in what is obviously

(59:20):
kind of a crazy season.

Speaker 4 (59:21):
Wait a second, really quick follow up, how long did
they agree to not taking.

Speaker 3 (59:24):
Any TV money?

Speaker 9 (59:26):
And you know it's great, I'll have to grab that
protractor and later get no because if I remember correctly,
and I could be wrong, smor Cal, smu and Stanford
all came to the ACC, the Atlantic Coast Conference. Yes,
the ACC, and I think Callen Stanford have like this weird,
you know, pro rated situation where they get a little

(59:48):
bit more each year, but they don't get a full
share for like seven or eight years, and I forget,
in all seriousness, I forget if SMU is going to
eventually get a little bit of money but not a
full share, or if they just basically say, hey, for
the length of this contract, we're I'm taking anything. But
by the way, just this conversation shows you how freaking
weird college sports is. But it's also what makes it

(01:00:09):
so fun to cover.

Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
So all right, So I don't know if you know this, Aaron,
I rarely share this with people, but I actually had
a Heisman vote. Did you You were the guy that.

Speaker 9 (01:00:20):
Said that Jade and Daniels stunk last year? I remember
all about it. Yes, so he'll never He'll never make
it in the pros. I think that's what you said.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
Yes, I did not vote for him. I did vote
for Penix last year, and Penix has been almost perfect
this year. So let's think about.

Speaker 9 (01:00:36):
That as who lost the game yet that I'm aware.

Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
Again, he had an undefeated Washing team to beat Oregon twice.
That's why I picked him over Daniels. All right, So
this year, to me, it comes down to two guys, right,
It's Travis Hunter versus Ashton Gent and I have maintained
Genty in the lead, leads a nation, rushing leads a nation,
all purpose yards, leads the nation, scoring, the lost one

(01:01:00):
game on the road to the number one team in
the country, and in that game he had one hundred
and ninety two yards rush and three touchdowns. This is
not a knock on Travis Hunter. But as I sit
here right now, I'm leaning to gent if Boise Steak
can win out, which is still a big f right now.
They're losing three nothing early in their game, but I

(01:01:23):
still believe the numbers are there for Genty to win
it over Travis Hunter. Where do you stand on the
iceman right now?

Speaker 9 (01:01:30):
Well, I promised Patrick dan Monci that I would say
that your heids and pick was terrible no matter who
it was. But I'll say, listen, you know my personal thought,
in all seriousness, I understand what you're saying. I mean,
what Travis Hunter is doing is so literally unprecedented. You know,
I have a buddy on their Colorado staff that I
was talking to him. He played in the NFL first

(01:01:51):
round pick Damian Lewis, and he was like, I have
never seen anything like this. And you know what you
got to remember too, Steve, and I know you know,
and I know you know Manzi, but it's like, it's
not only that he's playing on both sides on game day,
but in practice, you know, he's spending half of his
time in receiver meetings, He's spending half of his time
in defensive back meetings. And I think the other thing too,

(01:02:12):
is that and I put this out there, it's like
and by the way, apparently people got mad at it.
It wasn't intended as an insult. But we think of
Charles Woodson as this like iconic, incredible season, and it was.
I mean, he had eleven catches his entire season at
Michigan when he won the heisman. Travis hunder has eleven

(01:02:33):
touchdown catches after today. So I just think it's so unprecedented,
you know, because it's not just that he is on
the field on offense and he's getting plays. He's literally playing,
you know, first team reps at wide receiver and first
team reps at cornerback. He's playing both at an elite level.
I would give it to him just because of the
historic nature of it. But I will say, in all

(01:02:54):
serious is Steve, I like to poke at you. I
don't think it's a terrible argument because JENTI I think
you can argue, you know, alongside anybody is as important
to his team's success as anybody. But I also just
think we're literally seeing something that's so unprecedented from Travis Hunter.
It's hard for me to say he shouldn't win the award.

Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
Well, I will say this. I know you brought up
Charles Woodson, but the guy that added a comparable season
with Champ Bailey in nineteen ninety eight at Georgia, he
caught forty seven passes for seven and forty four yards
and five touchdowns. He ran the ball sixteen times for
eighty four yards. He was their kick returner. He had
punt returns. He also had three interceptions. Obviously playing both ways,

(01:03:34):
future Pro Football Hall of Famer Champ Bailey and by
the way, that year he finished seventh in the Heiston
Hockey Voting. What seven nineteen ninety eight University of Georgia,
champ Bailey played both ways on a nine and three
Georgia team. Hear Woodson won No Woodson won at the

(01:03:58):
year before Whitson wins it in ninety seven. Ninety eight
year the Ricky Williams won it right So, but yeah,
it was sort of like because of what Woodson did,
Champ Bailey said, I can go one step further in
a lot of ways. He did, because obviously he caught
forty seven passes along with being a defensive back, and

(01:04:18):
yet he only finished seventh in the Heismans Trophy.

Speaker 9 (01:04:21):
In all seriousness, and I tease you, Steve, but MATI
I know you'll agree always. I always learned something when
I talked to Steve because I had no idea about
that at all every day, So, yeah, you're educating America, Steve.
I had no idea, I really did have. I knew
Champ played both ways. I Champ like, I know, I
know Champ Bailey played both ways, but I had no
idea that he put up those stats.

Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
Aaron last one here for me. So Indiana loses our
first game today. Head coach Kurt Signett. He was asked
about making the playoffs, and he kind of scoffed at
the question, said, it's obvious.

Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
What do you think?

Speaker 9 (01:04:55):
Well, I do think it's I think it's obvious. But
what really helped him was was Ole miss losing is
I know, so it's already starting as well. I mean,
if you really look at ole Miss their best win
DA DA. It's like if they put in a three
loss SEC team over over a one loss Indiana from
the Big Ten, Let's just cancel the entire season and

(01:05:16):
just have the SEC play, you know, let's just have
a sixteen team SEC championship tournament to determine the champion.
So if ole Miss hadn't lost, basically, I'll just try
to be quick because I know we're short on time.
But like, basically, there were really if you looked at it,
about thirteen deserving teams for twelve spots. That's that's taking
into account that Texas and Texas A and M are
going to play each other next week, and that the

(01:05:38):
loser is probably eliminated. And so I only bring it
up because I think with ole Miss losing, it's hard
to make the argument that there's going to be somebody
in the at large pool that's more deserving of them.
And I think the SEC will get there four. I
think they were angling for that fifth team, but ole Miss, listen,
you know, I think that loss really impacts them because
it's not only a loss. Too took an improving ward

(01:06:00):
A team this week as only as they have three losses.
Is that one of them is to a really bad
Kentucky team that's going to probably finish four and eight.
So I don't I think fans would have had a
little bit of a sweat if if Ole Miss hadn't
kind of falling apart today. But I think they should
be in pretty good shape.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Aaron, thanks man, We needed this harsh. You didn't clarify anything,
but at the very least we have the discussion. Let's
put it that way.

Speaker 9 (01:06:24):
What are you talking about. I clarified everything that happened
in Tempe that you guys couldn't hear on the broadcast that.

Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
We could not. But we appreciate that. Aaron, Great stuff always,
and we'll talk to you down the road. Thanks so much, man.

Speaker 9 (01:06:35):
All right, team, have a good rest of the show.
Love listener talks.

Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
So there it is, Aaron Taurres, right, let's find out
what's trending right now. Man, that's pulling over time. The
great Steve de Seger, Hello, folks, out of nowhere shows up.
We appreciate that. Steve. Happy to be here.

Speaker 13 (01:06:51):
And by the way, we can update that aston gent
it's just run sixty one yards for a touchdown?

Speaker 7 (01:06:57):
Are you with me?

Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
With him on the Heisman Trophy. Where do you stand?

Speaker 7 (01:07:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:07:00):
Yeah, I can't.

Speaker 13 (01:07:01):
I can't wait to see that guy in the playoff.
I can't wait to see that guy in the NFL.
So the more I see of him, the better. And
unlike you made a good point about Boise State not
highly seen. Even the Oregon game was not seen, right,
I hope people get to see him, yeah, because he's
worth seeing.

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Well, he's on his way to going over two thousand
yards or the season in today's game.

Speaker 13 (01:07:21):
Yeah, and I once we get to the stats. Yeah,
and you of all people will know this because San
Diego State has talked about this before. They didn't used
to count bowl stats, which was completely stupid in college.

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
Pre is still the all time.

Speaker 13 (01:07:34):
It's part of your season. People like you tell I
saw Ron Dayne run for X number of yards in
the Rose your.

Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Teleg games in the bowl games over two hundred yards rushing,
none of them count.

Speaker 13 (01:07:42):
There you go, okay, yeah, sure so Ashton jedg four
carries four for sixty six yards and the td as
they're at a not a good Wyoming team tonight and
it's late first quarter, twelfth rank Boise State up seven
to three, Notre Dame has scored again at Yankee Stadium.
It's fourteen thing over Army six and a half minutes
to go in the first quarter. And you mentioned Kansas.

(01:08:05):
Yes in Kansas City, the win against sixteenth rank Colorado
thirty seven to twenty one. The Kansas Jayhawks become the
first team in the history of the FBS to have
a losing record and yet win three straight games against
ranked opponents. They beat Iowa State, then one at BYU,
and one against Colorado here And so if Iowa State

(01:08:26):
wins its game, which is at Utah tonight, that'll be
four teams in the Big Twelve that are six and
two each. So the standings were tweeted out by the
athletic and they simply typed someone else figure it out.
We do know that Iowa State's looking really good right
now because if they can win tonight and then Kansas
State the finale, they'd be in. And frankly, Arizona State

(01:08:47):
is looking pretty good. Maybe not quite as much of
a driver's seat as Iowa State, but look what they
got here. They got not only the head to head
causing the loss the Arizona State, which will get to
in a moment against BYU, but Colorado at the same
time lost today. What a great day for them. And
at sun Devil Stadium, twenty first ranked ASU beat fourteenth

(01:09:10):
ranked BYU twenty eight to twenty three. And you guys
were talking about the ACC first year in conference. SMU's
ranked thirteenth. They're going to the conference title game. They
won thirty three to seven at Virginia. When the ACC
added SMU, Stanford, and col starting this school year in
all sports, it brought the ACC membership to eighteen schools

(01:09:32):
like the Big Ten is up to eighteen. The ACC, remember,
got just the minimum vote to pass this thing and
add these teams. NC State had to change its vote
to say yes, so they got the twelve to three.
Florida State certainly wasn't wasn't for this because they don't
want to share any money. Clem's in the same they
feel they're the big revenue makers in the conference. North

(01:09:52):
Carolina had voted no. But those three are in. It
includes SMU, which could take the title in its first years.
And it's true new schools do not get full revenue
shares in the ACC. Stanford and cal start with thirty
percent payouts for seven years. SMU reportedly is getting no
media revenue for nine years, and that money saved from

(01:10:14):
adding these schools who won't be getting equal shares initially
can help people like Florida State and Clemson at least
a little who wanted the better revenues, like Okay, we'll
let them in, but they're not taking a piece of
ipie that type of thing. Well, congratulations FMU on the
future one yet again. Today Ohio State dominated Indiana thirty
eight fifteen, Penn State a twenty six twenty five winner

(01:10:36):
at Minnesota. Florida at home upset number nine Ole Miss
twenty four to seventeen. And we've got games going on
right now, including as I see our Fox TV coverage,
it's in the opening minute and it is underway, Iowa
States at Utah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:50):
Back to you, all right, Steve, thank you very much.
All right, never too late. It is that time.

Speaker 6 (01:11:06):
That's right, Steve and Moncey, it is game day, genius time.

Speaker 4 (01:11:10):
And tell me how much of a genius I was
last week? Tell me, tell me, tell.

Speaker 6 (01:11:14):
Me, Moncey, you are still a genius. Thanks, You're still
a genius.

Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
In my heart, Thank.

Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
You, thank you. No, I can only go up from here.

Speaker 7 (01:11:24):
Moncy, you could.

Speaker 5 (01:11:25):
I gave you the layup to pick the chargers.

Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
You didn't listen. I picked logically, not emotionally.

Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
And it didn't go for me.

Speaker 7 (01:11:34):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
Bottom line here, how many points should I get? Last?

Speaker 6 (01:11:38):
That?

Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:11:39):
All of them you got. I'll tell you what, Moncey,
you didn't move the needle at all. You're at twenty
that's right. Hey, you wrote twenty twenty twenty point. That's great, Steve,
you're at twenty seven, twenty seven to twenty right.

Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
All right, Well, this is uncharted territory for me.

Speaker 4 (01:11:56):
Yeah, and when I win in the end, it's going
to be even worse for you.

Speaker 6 (01:12:00):
All right, I'll tell you what the comeback could start
now with of course three and you.

Speaker 5 (01:12:04):
Know what, it's a down of a new day.

Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Let's do it. We gotta get going.

Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
Let's get going.

Speaker 6 (01:12:08):
We have my Minnesota Vikings on the road taking on
the Chicago Bears over under a thirty nine and a half.

Speaker 5 (01:12:16):
Steve, take it away.

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
I like the Bears at home. I was playing the
home team all last week, all three home teams won.
She went on the road. I know the Bears have
not looked great as of late, but I'm still saying
that Sam Donald is not going to be the quarterback
we saw in the first five weeks of the season.
I think the Bears are not finished. I think they
got one game in them and they can easily see

(01:12:44):
them winning this game at home against the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (01:12:47):
I hear what you're saying, and you're very logical in that.
But even if Sam Donald is Sam Donald, I think
part of the Vikings success, which I have said since
the beginning, has been their defense. And so I am
taking the Vikings on this one because even if Sam
Darnold is quote unquote mid, I think the defense is
gonna be a lot for Caleb Williams, who has not
found his groove yet.

Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
It's getting better, but yeah, no, I'm taking the Vikings
for sure.

Speaker 5 (01:13:12):
Are any boldser over unders here?

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Caleb Williams throws at least two picks?

Speaker 5 (01:13:16):
Ooh, I like it, Caleb, two picks, I'm going under, and.

Speaker 3 (01:13:20):
I'm going over. Oh I'm not going.

Speaker 5 (01:13:23):
Over over under under.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
I would imagine the weather's not going to be great
in Chicago.

Speaker 5 (01:13:29):
It's Chica.

Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
I'm going over. The Bears have scored the most points last.

Speaker 4 (01:13:34):
Week this entire season, I also, I have to swing
because I'm down seven, So I got a swing.

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
All right, kid, all right?

Speaker 6 (01:13:40):
Well, next up, we got the Arizona Cardinals taking on
my Seattle Seahawks over under forty seven and a half.

Speaker 5 (01:13:48):
MONCEI go ahead, you know what you gotta do quickly.

Speaker 4 (01:13:52):
I'm actually going to the Cardinals Seahawks game in Arizona
in like two weeks, which I didn't think was gonna matter.

Speaker 3 (01:13:58):
My friend, the Seahawks fan.

Speaker 4 (01:14:00):
So I'm taking the Cardinals to beat the Seahawks on
this one.

Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
Because they're the more complete team. They're just the more
complete team right now.

Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
That game is in Seattle.

Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
It is in Seattle.

Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
I am riding the home flavor again. It did for
me last week. It's Steve Seattle beat the forty nine ers,
did they not?

Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
Yes they did on the road.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
They did. And somebody is all of a sudden overplaying
the Cardinals again, like when every game the rest of
the year they are due for a loss, especially on
the road. No problems. Seahawks win this game at home, and.

Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
He bowlds any over unders on this Monty swinging again.

Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
I got a bold, I say, Kyler Murray will have
a at least one forty yard run.

Speaker 5 (01:14:46):
Oh that's specific and I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:14:48):
Yeah, I'm gonna.

Speaker 4 (01:14:49):
I'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
I don't know. I need to swing. I need to swing.

Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
How about this for my things from Geno Smith? What
happened here? Geno's Smith? We'll have more yards rushing than
Kyler Murray.

Speaker 8 (01:15:05):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
All right, all right, coming out on the other side.
One more game to pick. Yes, this is Fox Football Saturday.
Steve Hartman and Monty Belan is here Fox Football Saturday.
We are live from the Ti rag dot com studios.
I want to thank our crew today. Steve is Sager.

(01:15:29):
I should not even be saying his name, but he's here.
So we appreciated Steve jumping in as you did. Mary
mac She's just a ray of sunshine around heroes and
playing the jams.

Speaker 3 (01:15:45):
Little Mariah Carey.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
Yes, yes, And then of course Patrick, who's got a
new puppy I do. Did you see the pictures.

Speaker 6 (01:15:54):
Of Finn Finn Fin Finn adorable, adorable puppy.

Speaker 5 (01:16:00):
He's a cute, he's a cutie. Yeah, he bites that.
He's a little bier.

Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
That's it, He'll get rid of it. He's teething, is
he's teething big time out there. All right, we have
one more game, Patrick.

Speaker 7 (01:16:12):
Yes we do.

Speaker 6 (01:16:13):
And speaking of teams that may or may not be
teething here chomping at the bit to get another win,
we have the Eagles taking on the Rams over under
forty eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:16:23):
Rams are home.

Speaker 6 (01:16:25):
Here, and you know what, eeny meany miny not monsee, Steve,
you get to go first.

Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
That's a hard one.

Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
It is a hard one.

Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
It's a hard wine.

Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
Why pick them, folks, the Rams? You know that whole
NFC West dynamic is so weird. He got three teams
at five and five, at Arizona at six and four.
So the Rams are still in it two weeks ago,
bad loss last week and ie win at home. I'm
rolling with the home ting, okay, So I'm going to

(01:16:56):
take the Rams at home. The Eagles on a roll,
the won six in a row, I know that. But
the Rams at home, prime time teams at home are
always the play.

Speaker 5 (01:17:08):
They don't call you, Homer heartment for nothing, right exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
So I'll take the Rams at home.

Speaker 4 (01:17:15):
This one is is tough, just because, all right, Eagles,
like you just said, they've.

Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
Won lots of them in a row.

Speaker 4 (01:17:22):
No, Davante Smith for Philadelphia. Can the Rams stop Saquon Barkley?
Can they? I feel like every time I say the.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Rams are I can tell you this, No, they will not.

Speaker 4 (01:17:35):
They will not stop Saquon Barkley. But do they just
let him, you know, go crazy? And can they still win?
Every time I bet against the Rams, they prove me
wrong because they're just well coached. You know that there
they can take on any any matchup here. You know
what I'm losing anyway, give me the Eagles mine as well.

Speaker 7 (01:17:56):
Really might as.

Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Well give me the Eagles on this one.

Speaker 4 (01:17:59):
And I this is out of the three you gave us,
this is the one I'm most uncomfortable with picking too
with you all right.

Speaker 2 (01:18:04):
Hold on a second, hold on now. We went to
a quick break before we and Manzi said that she
wasn't finished the previous game. Perhaps you know.

Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
It's because I don't know what games are gonna pick, right,
it's a surprise. But on that Cardinal Seahawks, I wrote
over like in my notes.

Speaker 5 (01:18:22):
Uh huh.

Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
And so I said, I was like, I don't know
if I should.

Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Go with my notes because here's the problem with the
over runder. If you take the overrunder. Yes, you can
get a bonus point, but if you miss it, you
lose a point.

Speaker 4 (01:18:33):
But I'm already losing by seven, so I feel like
I have to take this.

Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
I'm gonna take Can I take the over?

Speaker 5 (01:18:39):
You are taking?

Speaker 8 (01:18:40):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
I'm taking the over?

Speaker 5 (01:18:42):
Are doing it right?

Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
So the way I'm adding out right now, we could
be tie.

Speaker 10 (01:18:46):
Next week, we'll see all I could be down fifteen.

Speaker 5 (01:18:51):
See somewhere between.

Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
No, what what are we gonna do? What are we
gonna do?

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
I was surprised he didn't ask us to pick the
Charger game.

Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
Because I yelled at him last time.

Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
No, let me ask you this, all right, Ravens Chargers.
I think everyone would agree that it would appear the
Ravens are the better team, but guess who has a
better record the Chargers.

Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
Yeah, and the Chargers seemed to be clicking like they're
they're not letting teams score. I would actually, I think
I think the Chargers can win this one against the Ravens.

Speaker 3 (01:19:24):
I really do. And I'm like, I've never Actually, you're.

Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
Not one of those reverse psychology people like picking against
your team because I am.

Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
No, I'm not.

Speaker 7 (01:19:31):
I did it.

Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
I picked against them last week again, because I went
with logic. I thought the Bengals had to win in
order to keep their season alive.

Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
The Chargers are playing it.

Speaker 4 (01:19:41):
The Ravens might be the better team offensively, but the
Chargers seemed like the more complete team right now.

Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
I like the Chargers two.

Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
I did too.

Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
By the way, one game that we did not talk
about the entire day, and it shows you how insignificant
this game has become tonight USC and u c l A.
This used to be like one of the biggest games
in the country every single year, and it's complete afterthought
this year. As you know about my UCLA roots, that's right.
All I can say is go Bruins.

Speaker 7 (01:20:11):
Keep it here.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
