(01:30):
So there was a little bit of a problem going
into this Ohio State Michigan game. You know the game,
it's the best rivalry in college football. We can try
and sit here and argue about the Iron Bowl. We
can sit here and argue about Civil War between Oregon
and Oregon State. We could talk usc Notre Dame. Look,
(01:51):
you know how I feel about the Palmetto Bowl between
South Carolina and Clemson. We could have all the conversations
we want. Best rivalry in college football is Michigan Ohio State,
and it's up there with best rivalries in sports. But
there was a problem. The problem was Ohio State came
into this game over a three touchdown favorite and they're
(02:16):
at home. So while we look at it and say
it's the best rivalry in college football and maybe the
best rivalry in sports, and it leading up to the game,
one team significantly better than the other ones according to
the betting market. But that's why this game supersedes all that.
(02:38):
That's why the game is the best in the sport
because while you've got one team that's a three touchdown favorite.
You got another team that's a defending national champion going
on the road and they're like, f that, you haven't
beaten us in years, and you've got all the ingredients
you need. You've got everything you need for what is
(03:01):
shaping up to be a classic conclusion in this game. Now,
Ohio State gets a touchdowns Isaaclow and Crown laid out
just a couple of moments ago. Ohio State gets a
touchdown shortly before half, and they tie the game at
ten apiece. But if you're watching this game, if not
for a fourth down stop, if not, Michigan's been able
(03:22):
to do some things that a lot of people maybe
didn't expect them to do. It doesn't mean that Ohio
State's not going to come out in the second half
and shift it into a different gear. They found like
they felt like they found something towards the end of
the first half and potentially run away with this game.
But this is exactly what you needed in a matchup
where the projections and the numbers at the betting window,
(03:44):
we're telling you all this game is going to be
a wipeout. It's going to be a wipeout. You don't
think that Ohio State fans. I mean, they're probably a
little bit better now because you know, a little bit
more looped up. Right. We had some time to you know,
you know, throw a couple back during halftime, get on
(04:04):
the loobe a little bit, the liverlube, you know, have
a good time during halftime. Then come back out. You
got the ball to start off the second half. You
don't think that there's some Ohio State fans in Columbus going,
oh no, when they went down ten three, you got kickers,
bomb and fifty plus yarders from Michigan. Michigan's in control.
You don't think Ohio State fans are clamming up a
(04:25):
little bit right now, going oh no, this can't happen again. No, please, No,
this was a coronation. This was the revenge game. You
had Ohio State players who could have been eligible for
the draft and could have come out last year and
been drafted highly who said no, no, no, no, we want
to come back because we just want to beat Michigan.
We have to beat Michigan. Everything has been pointed in
(04:46):
this direction for today. You don't think they're sitting there
looking at a ten ten score at halftime, trailing majority
of the first half, going yeah, this isn't exactly what
we thought it'd be, and then everybody starts to tighten up.
It's exactly what you needed. This is perfect. You can
see the stress levels coming through the TV. You can
(05:07):
see fans start to kind of freak out a little bit.
Ohio State's got a second and eight right now. If
they go three and out this first drive in the
second half in a tie game, you don't think people
in that place are going to be like, oh God, no, please,
please know they've been living a four year nightmare. All
(05:29):
the jokes, all the comments, all the belittling of Michigan,
even during the COVID year they were scared to play
US blah blah blah, and all Michigan's done after that
is beat them every single year. Right when Ohio State
thought they had hope and a couple of these matchups,
Michigan found a play, made a play, found another effort.
(05:51):
Last year they won. Then they win the national title.
It's why if you ask Ohio State fans or Michigan fans, like,
would you rather win a national title and lose Who's
the game? Or win the game and not win a
national title, they'll take the second. We can't lose to
that team. Are you kidding me? I don't want to
deal with those people. So Ohio State, with a short game,
(06:11):
picks up the first down. But I'm telling you, man,
this is already shaping up to be a little bit
tighter than most people thought it was going to be.
And the people inside the Horseshoe and Columbus are going
to start sweating it out a little bit if Michigan
gets this ball back and is able to put some
points up on the on the scoreboard again. It's Jonas
Knox here on Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knocks
On X at the Jonas Knock On X and you
(06:32):
can hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
All Right, So I'm trying really hard. I really am. Like,
I'm trying really hard to feel bad for people who
were upset about what we saw between Georgia and Georgia
Tech last night, which, by the way, really fun game.
(06:53):
I'm not going to sit here and say it was
the best football we've seen, but credit to Georgia. They
come back and eight overtimes and they win that game.
They were down it looked like they were out. Georgia
Tech's got you know, a blossoming program ran Keys like
feels like he's got him headed in the right direction.
(07:14):
That was a fun game, like really really fun game,
great performances, all that stuff. But then the conversation, of course,
steered towards complaining, and the law offices of Bitch and
Moan gotta chime in, and their complaints are this is
the dumbest way to decide a football game. I mean, look,
just a bunch of teams going for two, just a
bunch of two point conversions to decide a football game.
(07:36):
That's not real football. I even saw sid people say
it's like seven on seven. All right, you had four
quarters and two other overtimes to figure this thing out.
Let's not pretend like from start to finish they were
running two point conversions. Okay, he had a lot of
(07:59):
time to try and figure out and come to the
conclusion of a winner. Look, I'm indifferent if they want
to change the rule. If they don't want to change
the rule, that's fine. But could we take a step
back and look at it in totality. You had an
entire game and two overtime periods to figure it out.
At a certain point, you kind of lose the ability
(08:21):
to complain about the situation you're in if you didn't
do anything to change the situation that you're in. It's
like the guy who gets pissed off because after the
fourth snooze you wake him up. What are you doing, dude,
You've been hitting the snooze button for forty five minutes.
You got to get up. I'm tired, I need sleep.
(08:43):
What about the eleven hours you had before the snooze buttons?
That didn't count? What your naps started after the first
one you had all that time. Get your ass up.
It's like a guy who's the last guy on the
plane because he's running late and he was playing grab
(09:06):
ass all morning long and then didn't realize you couldn't
take like, you know, a giant hairspray can in your
suitcase because it exceeded the max, or like a giant
suntan lotion bottle in your suitcase because it exceeded the
max and he had to check it and then it
was And then he runs onto the plane and starts
complaining because he's got a middle seat. If you put
(09:29):
yourself in that situation, you lose the ability to complain,
like like that's it's over. And so the people that
are sitting there watching, going, oh, this is a terrible
way to decide a football game. You weren't entertained by that.
That wasn't entertaining, Like if Georgia Tech complains or Georgia
(09:50):
complaints tough balls, but you as an as a viewer,
you weren't entertained by that. Hey, figure it out in
two yards and nobody could. I remember Penn State and Illinois. Oh,
I had the same game a few years back, and
it was like people were dizzy at the end because like, man,
nobody can score from two yards out, and like threw
everybody into a fit, like we're sitting here complaining about
(10:13):
all the game goes on for too long and the game,
you know, like come on, this is not the way
you decided college footbo's okay, well, you had four quarters
to you had two overtimes. At what point do you
call it and just say all right, let's just let
let's go ahead, and everybody calm down, and how about
somebody just pick up two yards and get a stop
and that's it. We got nothing to worry about. So
(10:35):
when I see the complaints and everybody's calling for the
change of the overtime. These have got to be changed. Look,
if you want to change it, that's fine. Like if
people want to make some changes, I don't care. All
I know was if you can't figure it out at
that point, then that's on you. And whatever happens after that,
you're gonna have to deal with the repercussions. But that
(10:56):
was entertaining as hell. Whatever concoction of football that was
that they threw out us last night Georgia Georgia Tech
was spectacular. And you're gonna remember where you were watching
that one on a Friday night. Jonas Knox here Fox
Sports Radio at the Jonas Knocks on X at the
Jonas Knox on X and you can hang out with
us as always on the iHeartRadio app. So we are
gonna have the usuals coming up. Later on this hour,
(11:19):
We're gonna hand out an award. Right it is the
giving season, it is the holiday season, so we're gonna
hand out our TGFG Game of the Week. We've also

we take you all the way up until four pm
Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific from the Tiraq dot com studios.
(11:41):
But right when you think a team in the NFL
is finally passed the worst part of the season, this
becomes real and this becomes obvious, and I'll tell you
what this is next. Jonas has counted today.

Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. That's right, the Christmas music
is back. We got the email command and that's in effect. Hey,
I'm into it, man, I like the classics, nothing wrong
with that. Coming up in a little over ten minutes
from now, we are going to hand out an award
(12:33):
on this show. It is the giving season, it's the
holiday season, and we will hand out an award on
this show. That'll be yours here again. We'll call it
a little over ten minutes from now here on FSR.
So a quick update from Columbus and you'll get a
more further detailed update and a better one from Isaac
longcrin coming up here shortly. But Ohio State and Michigan
(12:55):
tied at tennipiece. Ohio State punts the ball away on
their first driving the third quarter. They pinned Michigan deep.
Michigan can't get anything going at an opportunity to pick
up a first down, bad throw, couldn't convert. They had
to punt it away. And so now Ohio State's got
the football in Michigan territories. They're looking to try and
(13:15):
tack on a couple of points and maybe get a
lead here in this game. With about eight and a
half minutes left to go in the third quarter there
at the Shoe tie it again at tennepe. So again,
Isaac Low and chronalll keep you posting on that throughout
the course of the show here, and we will keep
you posting on a circus that is currently going on
in the NFL. That circus is in a friendly little
(13:39):
zip code, the six to six to five, all right,
that's that's where Soldier Field is located. Soldier Field is
the home of the Chicago Bears, who, when they're not
losing football games in a catastrophic way, they ride around
on unicycles and they juggle bowling pins, they've got trapeze artists,
(14:03):
they've got a nice tent out there, Like, you know,
maybe they should do that. Maybe the Bears instead of
looking for this site that they can build a stadium
to try and put something together, why don't you just
put up a tent and have like wild animals run
through and give out popcorns and balloons. And because that's
basically what it's turned into. Oh wait, so you thought
(14:25):
that once they got rid of madd Eberflus that all
the problems were gone. Oh that's good. Nope, all that's good.
You know what's amazing about all this is the fact
that you get rid of matt Eberflus and people think that,
(14:46):
oh everything's changed. That's just what we just with the
doctor ordered we needed to get rid of matt eberflu.
So now we can now you know, function as a
football team. Now, don't get me wrong, some of the
decision making. What happened on Thanksgiving at the end of
that game, the Hail Mary, the blocked field goals like look, dude,
(15:07):
I mean at some point or another, like it's gonna
cost you. And like there's some of the stories that
come out in Chicago when Maddybrafluce got there, and since
he's been there that you just are still looking for answers.
Remember when their defensive coordinator got let go, and you're
(15:27):
probably thinking, Yeah, what's the big deal? Coordinators get fired
left and right. It happens all the time. Oh yeah,
does the FBI raid their house before they get let
go or no? But it's weird. We didn't really hear
anything about that afterwards. It's weird. You think when the
FBI does a raid, there's probably like a good reason
for that, maybe there's some stuff on a laptop or whatever.
(15:49):
But no, it just kind of that got buried blowing
through offensive coordinators, one of which eight nine weeks into
the season, there's a report from the Athletic that came
out where they detailed the dysfunction, how Matt Eberflus had
lost the locker room. They didn't like the fact that
he didn't really take much accountability for what happened at
(16:12):
the end of the Washington game. They didn't like the
Patriots game, what happened in Arizona. There was a meltdown
before halftime. Arizona was just going to run the ball
to grind out the clock. Instead they rattle off like
a seventy yard touchdown run or whatever it was. It's like, okay, well,
apparently we're still hungover from that Washington loss, the field
(16:36):
goal block, the firing of the coordinator, all no accountability,
I guess. After the Lions game, it was reported in
The Athletic that Matt Eberflus tried to calm everybody down,
but the players weren't having it. They were fed up
with it. Jalen Johnson spoke out, Keenan Allen had some comments.
(16:56):
Matt Eberflus just left the locker room. Kevin Warren, team president,
was in there kind of hung around a little bit
longer to gauge the player's reactions and see what was that.
So you're hearing all that and you go, well, yeah,
of course, Matt Ebraflus has got to go like of course.
And again this has to be said because I want
(17:18):
to be very clear on this, because I'm not going
to be one of these heartless bastards who goes on
here and calls for jobs. I will never call for
anybody's job ever. If it happens, we'll assess it afterwards,
but I won't because it sucks to lose your job.
I've lost my job. It sucks, and I'm not going
to sit up here and call for somebody's job or
say so and so should be fired. Never going to
do it. But you knew the writing was on the wall.
(17:40):
It was a proven year and the only thing they
were proving under Matt Eberflus is that they couldn't win
close games in a league where one score games are
the norm. He's one of the worst in NFL history.
I'm not making that up. I'm like not making that up.
(18:01):
One of the worst in history in one score games.
So all of that piling up, it's not at all
surprising that the move was made. People didn't think it
was going to happen because the Bears have never fired
a head coach in season and it's kind of a
(18:23):
mom and pop shop. So when the move was made,
everyone was sort of impressed, Wow, they actually did it. Interesting.
But here's the best part. Not only did they not
know how to hire coaches, they don't even know how
(18:44):
to fire them. Because they let Matt Eberfluse show up
on a zoom call with media talking about preparation for
the next game against San Francisco, knowing they were going
to fire him, and then he comes out a couple
(19:04):
hours later. It's like, yeah, that's it, all right, on
to another coach. But wait, he just sat up here
in front of us, had to answer questions about the
next game, answer questions about his job security, only to
go back to his office get a knock on the
door by Ryan Poles and he said, yeah, listen, man,
it's over. Thank you, we appreciate it. Think about that,
(19:29):
not only they not know how to hire him, they
don't know how to fire him. What are you doing?
These have to make any sense at all whatsoever? And
the Bears claim that while they were still in the
midst of processing everything when his regularly scheduled meeting was happening.
(19:51):
So you know, we didn't want to make it seem
like there was something going on, so we just kind
of let the meeting happen. Oh that's great, that's great. Yeah, listen,
you don't want anybody to think anything's going on. You
may now kiss the bride. Uh duh, duh, dunna donnas Hey, uh,
(20:13):
you see your cousin in the third row. Yeah, like
she she left her lipstick on my neck. I don't
know I just want to get But again, this is
a great marriage. It was great. Well, oh no, I
didn't tell you beforehand because I didn't want to kill
the festivities. I just wanted everything to go normally, and
then I was going to inform you afterwards. I just didn't.
You know, everybody was already here. I didn't want to
(20:35):
just think about that. Well, look, everyone knew this was
a possibility. It's okay to say, yeah, we're going to
delay the start of the UH standard news conference, UH
because we've got some things to work out. Well, that's
(20:56):
not how we do things. Oh it's not. Why'd you
do it? Two weeks earlier this year he had a
regular schedule meeting. They pushed it back. And when they
pushed it back, people thought, wait, is there news coming out?
Is there something happening here? I think it was when
they fired Shane Waldron. To be honest with you, but no, no, no, no,
we want to keep schedule. That's more important than determining
(21:23):
and deciding to let the coach know that he's no
longer employed here. So let's let him go through all that.
If you knew he was fooling around on you, why
do you why'd you let him keep the keep the
wedding going. Well, you know, he didn't want to ruin
the surprise, you know, he didn't kind of the festivities
already here. He didn't, you know, So give him credit
for that. No, it's not how it works, but this
(21:46):
is who they are. So everybody's celebrating. Oh god, ebra
Flus is gone. Man, it's a brand new era of
Bears football.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
It is.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Remember that nineteen eighty five Bears team, you know, the
one everybody still talks about their only Super Bowl champion.
Remember that one, nineteen eighty five, you know, it was
like forty years ago. Since that nineteen eighty five Bears team,
they've got six playoff wins. I'm not kidding. Six. That's
(22:19):
less than the Jaguars, who have been around ten years.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
Less than that.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
This isn't Matt Everflus. Many like people are like, oh
my god, Like, no, this is not a Matt Ebraflu smoke.
It's the Bears. Like, this is the issue. So we
could sit here and try and say, well, he had
(22:54):
to go, he had to do it. I'm telling you,
this has been going on a lot lot longer than
anybody wants to recognize or acknowledge a lot longer. People
in Chicago know, Bears fans know this. And while everybody said, oh,
you Proplue should be fired, he no, this is like
(23:14):
a bigger issue. It's systemic. This has been going on
for a long ass time, for about forty years of dysfunction.
Christ when I say they don't even know how to
fire coaches, they fired Lovey Smith after he won ten games,
(23:36):
you know what I mean, Like some of the decisions
they make, it's just bizarre. You know, they've had like
an issue with kickers. You know, they've had this issue
with like, you know, Cairo Santo's getting kicks blocked, even
though he's been very accurate for them, but he's, you know,
gotten these kicks blocked. You remember when they had that
(23:57):
issue with Cody Parky and the playoff game where he
doubled Dooint that forty three yarder. They had a guy
before all those guys named Robbie Gold. They had to
move off of him. He was no longer producing. Like,
he's got to go. It's not working anymore. We've got
(24:17):
to move on. Yeah, okay, no problem. So all Robbie
Gold did was go on to never miss a kick
in the postseason ever again his entire career, not once
a couple Super Bowls with the Niners. But hey, dad,
we don't need him, just like don't need David Montgomery,
don't need Roquan Smith, don't Oh no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
Listen.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
So while everybody wants to sit and talk about a
problem solved, we fixed it all right, we found it,
We found where he was. Listen. So now we've got
the no no, no no. This problem's been there for
a long ass time and it goes way beyond just
firing Matt Eberflus right after you let him talk to
the media about the preparation for the next game. Jonas
(25:02):

We are going to hand out an award this week.
It's our TGFG game of the Week that is yours next,
but for all the latest from around the world of sports.
Ladies and gentlemen, roll out the red carpet in your
ears and make way for royalty. I present to the
(25:49):
Sir Isaac Lowanco.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
Hi, I humbling except your complements and will go right
to somehow capturing the mind boggling sequence that just occurred
in the Ohio State Michigan game number two. Ohio State
and Michigan are tied at ten with one point fifty
eight left in the third quarter. A short time ago,
(26:17):
Ohio State had a third and seven of the Michigan
sixteen yard line, but Ohio State quarterback Will Howard was
intercepted by McCary page. It was Howard's second pass intercepted today.
Michigan then, on a third down and seven at its
twelve yard line, its quarterback Davis Warren was intercepted by
(26:38):
Caleb Down. So Ohio State gets the ball right back
first and ten of the Michigan sixteen yard line. They
run it for no game then they complete a pass
for no game. Then third down and twelve of the
Michigan sixteen yard line, they run a draw play no
gain again, and then they try a field goal and
(27:00):
miss it why to the left, their second miss field
goal of the day. So with one fifty eight left
in the third quarter, it remains number two Ohio State
ten Michigan ten. Now, jonas as you as you well know,
in situations like this, the most reasonable analysis and perspective
(27:21):
is found on social media. Jordan commenting quote, what in
the bleep are these Ohio State play calls? Chuck Cooperstein,
who is actually the highly regarded radio voice of the
Dallas Mavericks, even chiming in, posting quote, what is.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
Ohio State scared of? Then At I love.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Trubisky commenting quote, how can you watch this game as
a recruit and decide you still want to play for
Ohio State under this coaching staff? They choke in the
biggest moments every year with the most talented roster in
the country. And finally, Kate Be posting quote, I was
in the Michigan marching band twenty five years ago and
(28:05):
Ohio State fans through drinks on us all the time,
no other school disrespects like them unquote, so presumably KB
enjoying the precedings shonas So.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
If I'm not mistaken, that's two missed field goals, two
red zone interceptions for Ohio State.
Speaker 6 (28:22):
You are absolutely correct and honestly what I think people
should be infuriate.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
See, I'm so angry I can't even say infuriator. Cleaned
up in the podcast.
Speaker 6 (28:32):
Don't worry about it now, it's all right. I want
them to see and hear. My rage is the play
calling by a whiouse date.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Are you taking hold ons? Are you taking shots at
the great Chip Kelly? Is that what you're trying to
do here?
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Hey?
Speaker 6 (28:44):
Hey, look ship Kelly should take the message and take
shots instead of having a first out in ten of
the Michigan sixteen yard line and not gaining a yard
only to wind up missing a field goal. And if
I was him, I would not check his mentions on
social medium number.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
Eight tennis way. Yeah, can I just say this, Yes,
it's your show?
Speaker 5 (29:03):
Well, let you keep back.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Do I need to say this because I don't want
to be rude. I don't like interrupt. I'll be rude.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
Come on, so roast and hair on your chest.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
So here's here's the here's the drive chart for the
second half. Okay, punt, punt, interception, interception, missfield goal. The
Big ten football is back, baby, right, Big ten Football's back.
Speaker 7 (29:27):
Right.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
You need a twenty degree weather.
Speaker 5 (29:31):
So true, we laugh through our tears.
Speaker 6 (29:33):
Number eight Tennessee as a thirty one to seventeen lead
at Vanderbilt eight forty three left in the third quarter.
By the way, Vanderbilt actually led this game seventeen to
seven midway through the second quarter. Number twelve Clemson up
fourteen to seven over fifteenth ranked South Carolina. They're just
about to start the fourth quarter. They're also about to
start the fourth quarter with Northwestern trailing. Number twenty three
(29:56):
Illinois twenty eight to twenty. Well, Jonas, good news. Nothing
terrible has happened in the final two and a half
minutes of the third quarter at the Horseshoe. They have
just ended the third quarter. It's still number two Ohio
State ten and Michigan at ten. Sounds like a thrilling
(30:16):
fourth quarter is in store.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
I mean, you know, listen, I know the score is tied,
but Ohio State is leading the first down score sixteen
to five. So they just showed a graphic. Ohio State's
got sixteen first downs to Michigan's five. Michigan's got the
ball to start the fourth quarter and they're tied. So
that's problem.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
Man.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
I'm telling you, if Ohio State loses his skill, that
fan mase, he's going to come on glued.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
They were unglued in the first quarter.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
This is but this is, this is what I'm saying.
Speaker 8 (30:47):
You have to have this.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
The game was projected to potentially be a blowout. They
were three touchdown favorites. You need them to sweat this
out at least. You gotta let him sweat it out
at least.
Speaker 6 (30:57):
And finally, the latest from Ohio State fans, Tommy posting,
Ohio State is really going to have me start drinking
at this hour. Huh, presumably Tommy is on the West coast.
And finally at scarlett O Gray post simply, I want
to cry. The only way we can win is if
the defense scores unquote back to you.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yeah, it sounds like being a Bears fan. Thank you, Isaac.
Let's go live tour. I have a thought on this
dysfunction insider Chris Prophet for the latest score.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
One of my best friends.
Speaker 9 (31:28):
Ross arism is he's like a Michigan State, Ohio state
guy and he just sent me something in all caps
that is, let's just say it's suicidal ideation after that
missed field goal. That's that's where this that's where this
fan base is right now.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Hey, listen, I call that acceptable behavior to be honest
with you at this jump. Sure, based on some of
the some of the play calling and some of the
decision making there in Ohio State. So we will keep
your posting on that throughout the course of the show
here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, another edition
of Do You Care is coming up here in about
less than ten minutes from now. Right now, though, it
is time to hand out an award. This is a
(32:05):
weekly tradition on the show during the NFL season. It's
time for our TGFG Game of the week, and the
award goes too cold, said Patriots. Oh yeah, a little
one Eastern time kick for the Colts and the Patriots.
Remember when this game used to be great. I mean,
(32:26):
they had so many classic matchups, big time playoff games,
you had so much going on. Only to fast forward
all the way to twenty twenty four and you get
this and yet Indianapolis is still fighting for a playoff spot.
The Patriots aret Robert krafts out there complaining about not
getting into the Hall of Fame. You got the weird
(32:49):
handling of the quarterback position before the year. Girodmeo seemingly
calls his players out every week. The Colts have a
quarterback that they're trying to rally around, but you know
he decided to opt out of a play earlier in
the season. You look at this and it just makes
you harken back to the good old days when Colts
and Patriots was the marquee matchup Peyton Manning Tom Brady.
(33:10):
Remember when Andrew Luck was a part of this whole thing.
It was glorious. And now what do we got Week
thirteen in the NFL. A couple of teams, one definitely
not going to the postseason and the other one probably
not going to the postseason. That would be the Indianapolis
coach and the New England Patriots. So congratulations to all
involved your TGFG Game of the week. Thank god for gambling,
(33:34):
because if not for gambling, who's watching this garbage? All right?
It's so long, everybody, all right? So coming up next
to here from the tiraq dot com studios. We are
going to spread a little bit of positivity here on
the show. A lot of people have accused us of
being way too negative. We refuse to do that. It
is another edition of do You Care? And it is
(33:55):
yours right here at FSR.

Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio Michigan has the football they
are driving with ten minutes and change left to go
in the game. They've just picked up another first down
on a scramble and so now they will have the
ball within field goal range with the game tied at
ten apiece and now under ten minutes left to go
there from the horseshoe in a game that's way tighter
(34:32):
than a lot of people expected it to be, especially
in Columbus. So we'll have more on that for you
coming off top of next hour here on FSR a
little over ten minutes from now from the ti rak
dot com studios. A reminder, though shortly after the show,
our podcast will be going up, so if you've missed
any of it, be sure to check out the pod

Speaker 4 (35:00):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Dmgre reports.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big stories from
the last week. But Jonas, the real question is do
you care?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Patrick sweet And to find out what the hell people
have been talking about all week.
Speaker 7 (35:20):
Pat Well, Jonas, I'll tell you what everybody's been caring about.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
Do you care?
Speaker 7 (35:24):
Though that Tom Brady criticized Daniel Jones for requesting for
his eventual release from the Giants earlier in the week.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
Do you care, Jonas? So, yeah, of course, listen. Tom
Brady h look, he feels strongly about being a good teammate,
being there for your teammates, and what he said. I
can see both sides of this, and I hate to
write the fence on anything, but I can see both
sides of this. I can understand why Daniel Jones wanted
to get out of there. They've been telling him since
(35:55):
the offseason, we don't want you anymore. Like it was
on hard not like he was embarrassed, like he basically
got embarrassed by the organization by you know. So I
can understand this situation was difficult, But I can also
understand why Tom Brady called him out for it, because
tom Brady's saying, look, you're leaving here because you're a
(36:15):
backup to go be a backup elsewhere, Like why not
just stay here for your teammates who have spoken out
and had your back and understand that this decision is
the organization trying to do it for financial reasons. So
I get where Tom Brady's coming from, and I like
the fact that he was willing to open up and
call somebody out for a change. Next.
Speaker 7 (36:35):
All right, Jonas, Well, do you care that majority of
the MLB are claiming that the Dodgers are air quotes
ruining baseball after now recently signing Blake Snell.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
Well, I think that you know, it's Tommy Edmunds deal.
But this is why the Dodgers are the best run
organization in the sport, and people cannot like it. All
they want, that's fine, But they just won the World Series.
They're the team that doesn't have to do anything. They're
the champs, they're wearing the crown. You're chasing them, and
(37:09):
yet they're the first team making moves like they're the
first like first teams making like Blake Snell. They just
resigned Tommy Edmond. You know Who's a guy that they
acquired at the deadline who hadn't even played at any
point during the season because he had been recovering from
risk surgery. And then he goes on to win the NLCSMVP.
So people can bitch about them all they want. Fact
of the matter is, while you're sitting around on your hands,
(37:31):
they're swinging and making moves and trying to get better
for next year.
Speaker 7 (37:34):
Next Well, Jonas, speaking of calling people out, do you
care that Anthony Edwards called out his own team, quoting
they were as soft as hell, and then he also
called out his own fans, calling them disrespectful.
Speaker 8 (37:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
I love Anthony Edwards. I love it. Look, he was
one of the stars of the postseason last year. I
think he's hilarious. I like the fact that he calls
it as it is, that he has fun with this
whole thing, but is willing to speak his mind, young
player or not. Guy's a superstar. He's going to be
in the league for a long ass time, and the
NBA should try and build around guys like that and
(38:08):
not some of this other craft that they do.
Speaker 7 (38:10):
Next, all right, Jonas, well, do you care that in Washington?
Apparently there were two escaped goats. They were detained Jonas,
after wandering through a city they were actively chasing and
terrorizing pedestrians.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Do you care, sir? Yeah, of course. So so they
escaped from where apparently it was a local zoo. Okay,
so they get out from a local zoo, and you
know what's funny about this, So like we're like, let's
let's play out a hypothetical here. So these goats are
like attacking people, and it's like, ha ha, you know,
kind of kind of funny. Listen, oh, guy, you know
(38:45):
they like but if somebody, you know, is cruising around
and a goat charges their car and they do what
any civilized person would do and they step on the
gas and smoke that thing, they're the ones getting grief.
They're the ones get Meanwhile, Like we're just gonna laugh
and go Haha, I had to go to attacking people.
You ever been to a petting zoo? Like you ever
(39:05):
had those goats like like try and horn you like
when you're at a petting zoo, Like it happens all
the time. Like I won't even take my kid to
a petting zoo unless I've got a knife on me
so i can defend myself. Because I got news for you.
If anybody hasn't learned their lesson after the fiasco that
was that mountain lion who wanted to hop across the
freeway and play bumper cars with a Tundra on the
(39:26):
one O one out here, lesson learn there's a reason
why you guys belong in the hills and you belong
in a yard eating some barn food and eating some
hay off the ground. Don't go playing on the streets
because out here we got a gas pedal and we
got no remorse.
Speaker 7 (39:41):
Next jonas Well, in Wisconsin, a ten year old called
nine to one one to ask for help.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
That help was helped solve his math Homeer, do you
care that's brilliant? I mean, look, yeah, there's probably you know,
a potential tragedy that could have happened that. You know,
they weren't able to get through because the kids calling
for a problem. But you know what, I hope you
got to figure it out. And if the person on
the other end couldn't have figured it out, then they
got bigger issues themselves. Good for you, kid, Way to go,
(40:08):
way to figure this whole thing out. Oh man, let
me tell you something. Godspeed to everybody who started drinking
in Columbus, Ohio this morning expecting that you were just
gonna have a nice and clean three touchdown win according
(40:29):
to the betting odds. Because man, this second half that'll
turn your night sideways in a hurry. We'll get into
that coming up here in just a couple of moments
from now, Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. You
can find us in hundreds of affiliates all across the country.
Wherever you are making us a part of your Saturday afternoon,
(40:49):
we appreciate it. We are going to take you all
the way up until the end of this hour four
pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific, and we're doing it
all live from the tire rack dot Com Studios tire
rack dot com. You get there an unmatched selection, fast
free shipping, free road has a protection and over ten
thousand recommended installers tire rack dot com the way tire
buying should be. This is absolutely bonkers, is what is
(41:13):
happening in this game between Michigan and Ohio State. And
by the way, you know, Clemson and South Carolina and
the Palmetto Bowl are having a good one as well too.
To where South Carolina just tried an onside kick, they're
determining who recovered the on side kick. Clemson's got a
fourteen to ten lead. From somebody who's been there locally
(41:33):
and been to this game, they're calling this one the
biggest Prometta Bowl in at least a decade, so it's
saying something both teams ranked. South Carolina has been really
fun to watch all year long. Clemson is Clemson and
so to see this game coming down to the wires
also also been fun. But nothing comes close to what
we're seeing from Michigan and Ohio State. Where if you
(41:57):
just want to know exactly how this whole thing is
shaping up there in Columbus, here's your second half. Now,
keep in mind, Michigan was in control in the first half,
Ohio State went down, they got a touchdown before halftime,
ten ten, and they're getting the ball. So here are
your second half drives based on what we've seen from
(42:22):
both these teams who are trying to win this game
and have bragging rights for the next year. So here
are your drives in the second half. Ohio State punt,
Michigan punt, Ohio State interception, Michigan interception, Ohio State missfield goal,
(42:42):
Michigan interception, Ohio State punt, and now Michigan's got the
ball back at their own forty yard line. Trying to
get something in some sort of point fashion in this
game to convert in this Can somebody break a tie
in the second half, is what we're asking here. The
States missed two field goals, They've thrown two interceptions in
the red zone. Davis Warren had a guy wide opening
(43:06):
the end zone. It was picked off. Ohio State got
the ball back. People are breathing a sigh of relief,
and then what do they do. They go three and
out and on fourth down they punted away, which they
should have based on how this game is gone. And
so now we've got five minutes in change left to
go there in the horseshoe, Michigan's got a second and
two with the game tied at ten, trying to get
(43:30):
a first down and grind this clock down to potentially
set up a game winning field goal. So that is
just a wild turn of events there. And I don't
even want to know what life is going to be
like for Elio State fans. Forget about covering the spread.
I forget like, let's that is god that nineteen and
(43:51):
a half or twenty one, depending on where you got it,
that's gone man up and vanished like a fart in
the wind. You need a stop and you need points
asap or else. There's going to be calls for Ryan Day,
like there haven't been calls since a year ago at
this time when they lost to Michigan. So again, we
will keep you posting on that throughout the course of
(44:11):
the show and the turn of events. They're in Columbus
between Ohio State and Michigan, and also South Carolina and Clemson.
You know, give them a little bit of love. South
Carolina getting the ball back down fourteen to ten with
also five minutes and change left to go there in
Death Valley. So that is your that is where we
stand when it comes to the college football games during
(44:32):
rivalry weekend, which is always a fun one. We also
mentioned and talked about the complaining that took place last
night because of the overtime rules in college football. My
stance on it is, look, man, you know we can
sit here and say that's not how you decide a
football game. Okay, Well, then decide it in the first
four quarters and then the other overtimes. Like what do
(44:53):
you want from me? Like, decide it then, like you know,
if there's gonna be like you know, decide it when
you have an opportunity in the first overtime, get a
stop score, decide it in the second one, and so
like when it goes to yeah, two point conversion tries,
I get it, Like I understand that's say that's not
real football. Okay, what about the four quarters? Like that
was real football? So it's you know, And the comparison
(45:14):
I made was, it's like a guy who hits the
snooze button after eleven hours of sleep, and he hits
the snooze button five times and then gets pissed at
you for waking him up. I'm tired. Can you see
I'm hitting this news. It's like, well, yeah, but what
about like the eleven hours you slept. It's like, what
about that long football game you just played. If Georgia
Tech couldn't close them out, then I don't know what
(45:38):
to tell you, Like this is where we are. So
I just I look at it and I go all right.
I understand the complaining because people like to complain. But
you know, that was a classic football game. Maybe not
the best played, maybe not the best representative of a
football game, especially the conclusion, but that's one of those
games you're going to look back on and go that
was wild. It was on a Friday night, it was
(45:59):
on a and alone stage. We all got to watch
it and all got to enjoy it. Michigan has picked
up a big first down there in Columbus at the
Horseshoe on a run on a first down run deep
inside Ohio State territory. So Michigan, we'll have the football
on a first and ten now under three minutes left
to go there at the Horseshoe with the game tied
(46:21):
at ten apiece, and they are in the red zone
at the Ohio State seventeen yard line. So we could
talk all we want about the turnovers. We can talk
all we want about the red zone mistakes by Ohio State,
we could talk about the missfield goals. Fact of the
matter is this is kind of starting to look like
it's looked in the past couple of years, where Michigan
(46:42):
just grinds the ball, grinds, the ball runs, the ball runs,
the clock grinds it down, and next thing you know,
they're standing there with an opportunity to win the game
because Ohio State can't get a stop on defense. So
there'll be plenty of blame to go round in Columbus
if this game continues on the way that it's going.
Approached the two minute warning there in the fourth quarter
(47:04):
at the Horseshoe in Columbus. So, yeah, they're at the
two minute warning, and so we were tied at ten apiece,
Michigan's got the ball and they're in control in the
Ohio State red zone, which listen, normally we would sit
here and tell you, I mean, yeah, they got everything
where they want it. Eh, red zone's been a little
bit of an issue for both teams here, so we
will again have you covered on that throughout the course
(47:27):
of the show.
Speaker 5 (47:27):
Here.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
I also reached out potentially, who knows, a superstar guest
might be joining us at some point from Columbus. Probably not,
but we'll work on that and we'll let you know
if that is able to happen. At this point. South Carolina,
by the way, big first down run, and South Carolina's
got the ball deep in Clemson territory down fourteen to ten,
three minutes to go there in Death Valley. I did
(47:48):
want to mention this though, because there's was some discussion that,
you know, did Colorado did we see the final games
of Travis Hunter and Shador Sanders, And we've got to
wait to see what the bowl games look like. With
the playoff picture looks like all that stuff's going to
shake out, we'll know that in the next day or so.
(48:09):
I just hope that people in and around college football
understand what Colorado did the past two years, because those
are great players. Shadoor Sanders is going to be the
number one pick in the draft, Travis Hunter is going
to win the Heisman Trophy. Those are great players. We
don't know whether or not Colorado's ever going to be
(48:32):
the same after this year. We don't know. And they're
not going to win a national title and I get
all that, But what Dion Sanders did and what shaud
Or Sanders and Travis Hunter and what the Colorado program
has given college football from a media standpoint, from a
fan standpoint over the past couple of years, has been tremendous.
(48:55):
And I look at it and I go, I hope
that there's appreciation for how much more interesting college football
has been with Colorado back playing well with superstar players
and with a superstar coach, because it's been great, and
there was a lot of people who wanted to sit
(49:17):
and you know, celebrate when they started off and they
were hot last year, and then they started playing real
competition and they fell back, and then they came out
this year and they were still talking, and they lost
in Nebraska and people were clowning Colorado, and they went
on to just kept winning games and winning games. Shadoor
got better, Travis Hunter has been spectacular. Deon Sanders is
(49:39):
still talking. But you can't deny what they've built there
if it doesn't have staying power. What they've given the sport,
what they infused Boulder Colorado, what they infused a once
formally great program with over the past couple of years,
has been tremendous, and I look at it and I go,
(50:01):
this is a two year window. We're going to look
back at a team that didn't win a title, that
from a national standpoint, didn't do that, but kind of
had a similar effect to maybe like a Fab five
or somebody like that, to where, yeah, maybe they don't
get to a national title game, movie, they don't have
five superstars who go in the draft and all that
stuff that come along with it. But you look back
(50:23):
and you go, that was a really fun team to watch,
and in a sport that's already fun, they found a
groove and they found a place for themselves and did
things differently, and they've been successful. If you want to
count them as not being successful because they didn't win
a national title, that's fine. But what were your expectations
(50:43):
when Deon Sanders took over the gig? They were a
one win program. So to see what they've done in
just two short years they're in Boulder, I think is phenomenal.
It was fun to watch those guys play, and hopefully
they get an opportunity in the Bowl game. Deon Sanders
said they're going to so so let's see if that
happens and then we get to see them at the
next level. Should Or Sanders again probably gonna be the
(51:05):
number one pick in the draft. And Travis Hunter, depending
on which position he wants to play. Guy's gonna win
the Heisman and then he'll be potentially a start at
the next level. Also, so it is Jonas Knox here
on Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knocks on X
at the Jonas Knox on X and you can hang
out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. All right,
so coming up next here from the Tirak dot com studios,
(51:28):
you've seen something on display not only in the NFL,
but in college football over the past forty eight hours.
We're going to tell you why this always plays out
this way, but most notably in big time marquee matchups
that you have watched over the last couple of days.
That's yours next here on FSR. We don't need to
(51:49):
bring Jonas in Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio, Man oh Man,
this is a old start to the day when it
comes to rivalry games in college football. South Carolina has
taken a lead over Clemson Lenora Sellers on a twenty
yard touchdown run. The game cocks up seventeen fourteen over
(52:12):
Clemson a minute oh eight left to go there in
Death Valley, there in the Palmetto Bowl, Michigan has just
kicked a field goal deep inside Ohio State territory. They
have a thirteen to ten lead over Ohio State with
forty five seconds left to go in the game. Ohio
State out of timeout. So all of these games have
(52:36):
been fantastic, or those two games specifically, I should say
have been fantastic to start out the day. And we've
got plenty more that we will get to. So this
is going to oh Man. It's not going to be
great for Ohio State fans. It's going to be a
(52:56):
rough rough go in Columbus if they're not able to
pull this game out here. So we will again have
more on that throughout the course of this hour. Isaac Lohan,
Kron is here. He's got detailed reports. He's also got
some commentary. By the way, Isaac Low and Kron played,
is Ilo around? Is he available right now? Could I
have a chat with him? If you don't is not here,
(53:19):
please leave him otation I lo the Gus Johnson call
that you played from Fox. When the interception? Yeah, when
when Michigan threw the interception in the red zone. Tell
me if you play it again that Gus Johnson doesn't
sound a little bit like Harry Carey.
Speaker 5 (53:41):
I see where you're going there.
Speaker 6 (53:42):
If I didn't know any better, Yes, absolutely, I was
gonna say Meg Ryan in when Harry met Sally. But
maybe a combination thereof. I mean Harry was known to
have a good time putting it mildly. Yeah, you want
to hear it again?
Speaker 4 (53:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (53:57):
Can I hear that again? There's a little Harry care.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
Lord, look gay exacting that unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
Wow Jack Sawyer, but your Jack Sawyer.
Speaker 2 (54:16):
You know Sawyer spelled backwards and a loose spelled backwards.
As you Ola, I saust can figure out.
Speaker 5 (54:29):
Yeah, combinations thereof, Man, these are great games. That That
was an.
Speaker 6 (54:33):
Octave that until now has never been found in in
civilization or nature. The octave that Gus Johnson hit, which
I give him dear credit for because think about it.
In other circumstances, if you heard someone talking like that,
you would be concerned that there was a medical event
going on, of course.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
Of course, But I mean it's Gus Johnson. You just
go now, he's calling a football game in twenty degree weather. Yeah,
and you know, I like, I don't know what. Listen,
you're a very good play by play guy, Isaac. I
don't know what's the coldest condition you've ever called a
game in? But does I does ice hockey count? Does
ice hockey count?
Speaker 5 (55:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (55:11):
Where do they keep those arenas? What do they keep
them at? Like sixty degrees? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (55:15):
To be honest, it's fine, but when you're upstairs, it's
just like anywhere else. But only Gus could hit that
octave and have the rest of us say that perfectly
captures the shock of that moment.
Speaker 1 (55:28):
Yeah, but I would butcher it. I'll be honest with you,
Like I would, I would just be terrible at it.
It's you know, but Gus Johnson is Gus for a reason.
And uh, and he's got he's got the game right
now in which Michigan looks like they're on their way
to another win, which is going to be just a disaster.
Speaker 5 (55:45):
Third down and nine.
Speaker 1 (55:48):
This is so fun. Look, I'm not trying to take
a joy out of seeing Ohio State fans be miserable,
but it is just funny because they just the assumption wise, well, listen,
it's it's our year. We're gonna get him this time. Okay,
all right, if you say so. Meanwhile, South Carolina trying
(56:08):
to pull off their big win against Clemson, you know,
trying to try to get themselves in consideration for us
some big things this postseason in college football. So we
will again have the further details on that from Isaac
coming up here in a little over five minutes from
now here from the Tirak dot com studios. I was
(56:29):
thinking about this though watching some of the games play out,
because we talked about the eight overtime game between Georgia
and Georgia Tech, and then you saw obviously what happened,
you know, between the Raiders and between the Bears and
all that, and there is a common theme, and the
common theme is the better team usually finds a way
(56:52):
to win those games, even if they're close. Even if
everything is set up for the more inferior team to
win in a close game like that, the better team
is going to figure out or make the play that
needs to be made to win that game. Like you're
watching the Bears, I mean, pick a card, any card,
(57:14):
and I've talked about it. Look, Matt Eberflus is gone,
and everybody thinks oh god, they finally got rid of Eberflues. Okay, well,
I got news for you. There's been a lot of
coaches there in the last forty years since they won
a Super Bowl, and they've got two less playoff wins
than the Jaguars, who haven't even been around in existence
that long. So, like we can sit here and try
and point fingers at Matt Ebraflu's and say he was
(57:35):
the problem. Now the problem's still there. It's the Bears
they're the problem, not Matt Eberflus. I mean this is like,
you know, a band aid on a bullet hole, Like,
what are we talking about? But when you look at
the Bears game and how that played out, it's like, well,
of course Detroit would win that game. I mean Detroit
tried to give it away. I mean that second half.
I can't even explain what the hell that was. You
(57:57):
get into halftime and Detroy is only up sixteen to zero,
and you're like, how is this a two possession game?
With the way that game played out, it doesn't make
any sense. The Raiders had an opportunity to win that
game against Kansas City again, they beat them on Christmas
last year. They had an opportunity to win that game,
(58:18):
and what ended up happening, the better team figured it
out a way to win the football game. Like that's
and that is really the difference between good teams and
bad teams. Like the margin of air is so small
and the separation of talent, especially at the NFL level,
is so small. But what you saw was a more
(58:41):
inferior team that's dysfunctional and can't figure it out showed
themselves with an opportunity to be the opposite of that. Like,
it's not a mistake that Detroit and Kansas City are
the two best teams in football and they won those games.
And the Bears and Raiders just happened to be two
of the most dysfunctional organizations in the NFL the past
(59:03):
couple of decades, you know, just so happens to be
so like you watch it play out, and it's like,
that's kind of how this goes, Like Georgia Georgia Tech, Like,
who's the better football team? Georgia figured out a way
to win that game. But the most glaring example of
the difference between functional and dysfunctional was what you saw
(59:24):
between the Bears and the Lions and the Raiders and
the Chiefs. The Bears had an opportunity to at least
tie that game and potentially win it. And what did
they do? Figured out a way to lose a game
with thirty seconds left and a timeout and didn't even
get to the timeout and just threw a ball up
(59:45):
in the air with their coach looking around and going
what happened? Only to get fired? And what did the
Raiders do? Bad snap quarterbacks clapping his hands in a spot,
ball gets snapped. Kansas City recovers game over with an
opportunity to kick a field go and win the game.
It's awful. So you watch it play out. That's bad football,
(01:00:07):
and that's bad football teams going against good teams. By
the way, let's talk about Countdown to Kickoff. Football fans,
be sure to tune in every Sunday morning beginning at
ten am Eastern time, seven o'clock Pacific for Countdown to Kickoff,
presented by BETMGM, Ryan O, Jeff Schwartz, and professional better
Bill Krackenberger will have you covered three hours before kickoff.
Every Sunday morning, listen to Countdown to Kickoff, presented by
(01:00:28):
BETMGM right here on Fox Sports Radio and on the
iHeartRadio app cover it up. Next, we are going to
have some fallout from what we've just seen in college
football to start off your Saturday. But to get the update,
the conclusion, the details, the finals of a couple of
up upsets on the road in college football, we turn
(01:00:48):
it over again to the one and only Isaac Longcroft.
Speaker 5 (01:00:51):
It is all over. Michigan has done it.
Speaker 6 (01:00:55):
The Wolverines twenty three and a half point under DoD
have just knocked off number two Ohio State at the
Horseshoe thirteen to ten, and epic final drive of eleven
plays fifty seven yards leading to the winning field goal.
(01:01:16):
But during that drive, Michigan had a third down at
the forty four yard line of Ohio State outside of
field goal range. Here's how it sounded on WWJ.
Speaker 10 (01:01:29):
Davis takes the snap hand off to kolel and he's
piled up at the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Breaks and tackle forty twenty five.
Speaker 10 (01:01:36):
Kleive Bowling's outside the numbers at the twenty and he's
knocked out of pounds at the Ohio State fifteen.
Speaker 6 (01:01:42):
Yard line, setting up a twenty one yard field goal
attempt by Michigan placekicker dominic Zavada with forty five seconds
remaining in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 10 (01:01:53):
Snap is good, hold is down, the kick is up,
and the kick is good. Yes, Michigan has taken a
thirteen to ten lead with forty five seconds to go
in the ballgame.
Speaker 6 (01:02:06):
One last gasp after that for Ohio State on fourth down.
Here's how it sounded on their radio broadcast. Here is
Paul Keels on WBNS.
Speaker 8 (01:02:17):
Will Howard sets up to throw. Howard looks, Howard steps up,
takes off, throws and it's incomplete and that's the ballgame.
He throw it out on the right flat and he
had pressure all around him. Will Howard and Michigan is
in a position to pull off a gigantic upset in
what appears it will be their fourth straight win over
Ohio State.
Speaker 6 (01:02:34):
Thirteen to ten, and again they were twenty three at
a half point underdogs coming into the game. And you know, Jonas,
throughout the day, we've been monitoring real time social media interaction,
and speaking of real time, it looks.
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
Like we throwing down.
Speaker 6 (01:02:51):
The teams are having to be separated by security at midfield.
There's pushing and shopping by Michigan and Ohio State. Play
it's just a bit of pushing and stubbing. Nothing yet
they're being separated. There are state troopers out there. There's
nothing that Michigan needs to do more. But that is
real time audio.
Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
Hey let me tay somebodyaac. You want to know how
you define a great college football rivalry? Now, well, but
a game with officials during regulation and like state police
and state troopers after regulations all about by state troops. Yeah,
like you need you needed officials during the game, but
state troopers after the game just to get everybody to
(01:03:32):
play fairly.
Speaker 5 (01:03:33):
And I'm like it, and I'm watching video.
Speaker 6 (01:03:35):
This was precipitated by Michigan apparently attempting to plant its
flag at midfield at Ohio Stadium, and one Michigan player
tossed an Ohio State player down to the ground. Then
another Michigan player with illegal hands to the face on
an Ohio State player. Again that happening moments ago, but
(01:03:56):
it's in the books thirteen to ten. Michigan wins it. So,
like I said, Jonas, we've been monitoring social media reaction
in real time. I thought for even further perspective, we
could take a time machine back to yesterday and find
some tweets that were actually sent before this game. Now,
this is from Ohio's tate, not to be confused with
(01:04:20):
Ohio State. It's Ohio's tate. By the way, I'm glad
you sounded out that last week. That's right where I
was going. You know, it's troubling how you and I
are so on the same wavelength.
Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
You know, the end is silent.
Speaker 5 (01:04:32):
I was trying.
Speaker 6 (01:04:33):
I was trying to finish off that second word as
clearly as possible. Again, Ohio's Tate posted yesterday and I quote,
Ohio State is grilling up a fifty burger for Michigan's
fat bleep on Saturday, JEZU. Then we have Norwich to
Chittenden posting yesterday. Quote Relax, Ryan Day doesn't lose to
(01:04:58):
bad teams. This Wolverine team is mediocre, and Ryan Day
methodically dismantled mediocre teams. This isn't the type of game
that Ryan Day loses. Again, those last two tweets costed yesterday.
Number fifteen South Carolina has won at number twelve Clemson
seventeen to fourteen. Number twenty three Illinois with a thirty
(01:05:19):
eight to twenty eight victory at Northwestern and eighth lank
Tennessee of thirty six to twenty three at Vanderbilt with
four forty seven left to play in the fourth quarter.
Remember Vanderbilt actually led this game seventeen to seven midway
through the second quarter.
Speaker 5 (01:05:34):
On that note, Jonas, I know you can take it
from here.
Speaker 6 (01:05:38):
Oh man, go hold on more video of the brawl
at midfield. Let's get it so Michigan. This postgame brawl
was precipitated by Michigan trying to plant its flag at midfield. Well,
an Ohio State player took away the flag off the
flag pole and then separated the flag from the flag pole.
(01:05:58):
So even though Ohio State didn't win the actual game,
apparently accounts, they can still walk up the field with
their heads held hot.
Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
But does that count as points in the second half?
Could have used a couple of those.
Speaker 5 (01:06:10):
Yeah, well, you know what.
Speaker 6 (01:06:11):
Technically it happened about the twenty yard line, so perhaps
they can be credited with a successful red zone unlike
in the actual game.
Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Well done, Isaac Longkrawn. You better hope Dan Byer doesn't
hear this update.
Speaker 8 (01:06:24):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
With all the jokes that we're cracking about Ohio State,
Oh my god, could you look well, here's like and
also can I just say this, don't don't they have
artificial turf? Isn't it like the field grass? I don't
even think you can plant a flag in that.
Speaker 6 (01:06:41):
Oh that's a really good points.
Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
What are they getting so pissy about? Unless it's like
one of those spears from you know, from a Game
of Thrones that they shoot dragons out of the sky with.
What do they care? A pan we go to Javelin?
Speaker 6 (01:06:54):
Can we go to our grounds crew analyst George Toma
for further confirmation that you cannot plant a flag to
field turf. This is brilliant stuff, Jonahs.
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
I just I don't understand, like why people get so
pissy about this because Baker Mayfield tried to do this
at the Horseshoe, right, It's like, you can't. It's field turf, Like,
it doesn't work that way. So what are they like?
What are they getting so upset about? You just make
them look dumb.
Speaker 6 (01:07:20):
You do not get this ground's keeping flagpole planting. Ohio's
Tait analysis anywhere else besides the Jonas knock Show ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
Let's go live to our I have a thought on
the field inside of Chris perferperil.
Speaker 9 (01:07:36):
So I am combing through the evidence right now, but
this might have to go in your update, Isaac Lowenkron.
According to Pat Forty, he got secondhand pepper sprayed. And
apparently there is a screenshot what looks like Michigan players
who were pret pepper sprayed during the fight. Ki, so
someone deployed pepper spray.
Speaker 1 (01:07:55):
It looks like it.
Speaker 6 (01:07:56):
Oh, it was Pat Forty who got second Forty got
second had Hey.
Speaker 1 (01:08:01):
Have you guys, have you guys been pepper sprayed?
Speaker 9 (01:08:03):
I have?
Speaker 5 (01:08:03):
I got some of my hands.
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
I got some of my hands once.
Speaker 9 (01:08:07):
I was like a dumb kid and I played around
with like my my babysitters, like with their pepper spray,
with their pepper spray, and then I rubbed my I
thought I got it off, and then I rubbed my eye,
and uh, I didn't get it all off.
Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
By the way, if my babysitter had pepper spray, I'd
call the cops like that.
Speaker 5 (01:08:23):
That's a little unconventional discipline.
Speaker 6 (01:08:25):
By the way, Jonas, if you do want to get
George Thomas analysis, he is still with us, thankfully. No
Ninety five years young, nicknamed the God of sod.
Speaker 1 (01:08:36):
And and so we would need to check in with
him to go ahead and get to get clarification on this.
Speaker 5 (01:08:42):
I'm sure he'd be I'm sure he'd take your call.
Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
Was he the God of Sod or was he the
sod Father?
Speaker 5 (01:08:47):
Both the God of Sod and the sod Father.
Speaker 6 (01:08:50):
He was the groundskeeper for pretty much every Super Bowl
until like literally last year.
Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
Yeah, listen, this is uh, this is just amazing stuff here.
Pepper spray to end a football game is the way
all football games should end, if you ask me, you know.
And also, I'd like to point this out if you're
an Ohio State fan and you're upset about just some
of the comments that you're going to see from Michigan
fans for the next year again, some of the comments
(01:09:16):
you've seen for the last four years. I mean, if
it makes you feel any better, We've got some other
people chiming in some positive feedback here on the show,
from loyal listeners of the show who have taken time
out of their busy Saturday to go ahead and check
in here. Jason writes in you board up, bleep, get
back to your hackey is bleep Ohio State versus Michigan
(01:09:38):
the greatest rivalry in all of sports, real original material,
you bleep. Troy writes in jof Jony is more useless
and more of an s bag than Matt eber F
and needs to finally get asked like the blea you've
(01:10:00):
always been, just like that vomit bag.
Speaker 5 (01:10:03):
Finally was.
Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Paul writes in Dodgers Beep, Bleep Gobbler Judas in bleepwat
Blue Heaven signing every star in boring ass major League
Baseball so you can celebrate another worthless title and parade
bought and paid for, and you can bleep it out
(01:10:27):
to show time and little bleeped. Oh, I can't say that.
Speaker 6 (01:10:32):
You sound devastated that Paul has just ripped you to
his anti quote forty two followers.
Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
I mean, you know, listen, there's a you know, plenty
more of that came from, like Tony, who writes in Isaac,
what your thoughts on this? Tony says he took a
picture or he took a video of the brawl after
the game, the skirmish at the Horseshoe between Michigan and
Ohio State, and said we need one of these scrubs
and bleeps on Michigan or Ohio State to do us
(01:11:00):
a favor and whoop the bleep out of that bleep
ass bleep Jonas Knox instead of each other and planting
their lame ass flag.
Speaker 6 (01:11:13):
Here with an update on Tony's follower count, he has
forty three. The previous troll had forty two. Do you
detect them up? Do you detect a trend here? Yeah,
the next one will be forty four. That fifty follower
barrier isn't far away.
Speaker 1 (01:11:29):
By the way, you want a crazy stat that they
had in the Ohio State Michigan game, or I should
say Michigan Ohio State game, the way the last four
years have gone. The team that wins the rushing battle
in that matchup has won now the last twenty three meetings.
So like, if you want to know how this game's going,
(01:11:50):
you know, just check the box score and see who's
won it on the ground, because Michigan wanted to get
on the ground and they've won this game yet again.
Speaker 6 (01:11:58):
And the team that loses the flag poll battle apparently
is on its way to winning one year in a
row at least.
Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
God, that's great. What a grand South Carolina be. Clemson,
they go game Cocks. So I'm talking about what a
great start to the day. You know what that means.
The rest of these games are gonna be garbage. That's
what that means. So hope you enjoyed it while you
had it all right. Coming up next here though, from
the Tirak dot com studios, we are going to have
(01:12:27):
the week thirteen edition of Knox Locks. Those will be
yours right here on FSR Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio
coming up top of next hour a little over twelve
minutes from now from the tire rack dot com studios.
Make sure you stick around Alex Curry Carmen Vitally we'll
have you covered all sorts of fallout from the crazy
(01:12:47):
finishes in college football to start out the day some
NFL conversation, So Alex and Carmen will have you covered
here again top of next hour a little over ten
minutes from now, just to catch you up to speed
if you were just tuning in a couple of huge
road winds and rivalry games in college football. To start
off your Saturday. It was South Carolina beating Clemson seventeen
(01:13:10):
fourteen Lenora Sellers on a twenty yard touchdown scramble with
about a minute left in the game there in Death Valley,
so South Carolina beats Clemson, and then in the game
it was Michigan beating Ohio State thirteen to ten. We
threw this stat out to you before, but the team
(01:13:32):
in that matchup that won the rushing battle has now
won that game twenty three straight times. So that I
ought to tell you exactly how that rivalry is played
and how that game is played. So when the numbers
came out, the projections came out, and you had Ohio
State is a nineteen and a half point favorite or
(01:13:53):
twenty point favorite in some places. To start out the
week it was twenty one and a half. The thought was, well,
it's just a coronation. State's finally going to get their revenge.
You had players who came back for another year that
could have gone to the draft in Columbus because they
wanted to beat Michigan.
Speaker 5 (01:14:07):
They'd never done it.
Speaker 1 (01:14:07):
In their career, only to have this happen at home.
And what's wild about is that you get people that
are talking about, you know, Ryan Dad, you know, should
he be fired, should he lose his job. They haven't
beaten Michigan. If you can't beat you know, it's like
the John Cooper stuff, Like John Cooper had a great
run at Ohio State, but he struggled against Michigan. But
(01:14:28):
what's crazy about this is there's going to be Ohio
State players and a lot of them who are going
to walk away potentially never playing football ever again and
never beat Michigan. That's going to eat at you for
the rest of your life. Like Marvin Harrison junior can
(01:14:51):
can have the greatest career in the NFL, and he
looks like a stud guy. Never beat Michigan, Like, it's
crazy to think that that's a reality for them. And
that's something that you've just got aware for the next
few decades, you know, no big deal, just a few decades.
So congratulations to Michigan. I think a lot of people
(01:15:12):
just expected this was going to be a down year
and they would struggle in this. But your own more
and what they figured out recently and getting this win
at the Horseshoe that that's gonna do wonders to not
only recruiting, but also his reputation on campus and in
ann Arbor. Ryan Day, on the other hand, they got
(01:15:32):
some problems in Columbus again. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio.
By the way, if you've missed any of this show,
you can't check out the podcast, search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcast. Be sure to also follow
rate and review it again. Just search Fox Sports Radio
where you get your podcast. You'll see this show posted
right after we get off the air. We are going
to be back on the air next Saturday. If you
(01:15:53):
if you would like a tweet to that podcast to
make it easier for you at the Jonas Knox on X.
It's at the Joe Knocks on X. I will send
that out as soon as it has posted. But right
now it is time to close up shop with this
lock it.
Speaker 5 (01:16:07):
Let's lock it and knocks loucks.
Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
All right, So let's go ahead and look back at
last week. Here came into the week needed another stronger
performance and we got it. It was a two to
one performance last week, the two wins the Bears plus
three and a half against the Minnesota Vikings. It took
some work. We went to overtime. Thankfully, Kevin O'Connell played
(01:16:35):
it safe and kicked the field goal and we didn't
have to worry about Minnesota winning or scoring a touchdown,
which they probably could have the way their offense was
rolling in overtime there, but we were able to win
that game. I loved the Packers minus five and a
half against the forty nine Ers. That line moved up
a little bit. But even with all that, the injuries,
everything that came along with it. When we finally found
(01:16:55):
out that Rock Party was out, still got that in
at five and a half. Loved Green Bay there, got
to win there, and just a terrible pick. I'll be
honest with you, I don't know why I thought the
Rams getting three points at home against the Eagles was
gonna mountain anything that was terrible. The Rams in primetime
just not great. This year, just not great at all.
So unfortunately you missed out on an opportunity to get
(01:17:18):
back to five hundred on the year seventeen eighteen and one.
But right now it's time for this Steelers and Bengals.
I'm gonna take Cincinnati. I'm gonna take Cincinnati at home.
I'm gonna take Cincinnati at home coming off a bye,
and I'm gonna take the Bengals minus two and a half.
(01:17:38):
I know Pittsburgh coming into this game getting points, but
I think there's a reason why the Bengals are the
favorite in this spot. They're desperation time, and you can
say they've been in desperation time for weeks now. But
I think the Bengals respond. I think they rally back.
Pittsburgh may be hitting a little bit of a slump here,
but I'm gonna go with Cincinnati here if it seems
(01:17:59):
a little fit. She wired the Bengals favored when they're
the inferior team against the Steelers and pittsburghs gat. I
think it's for a reason. I'll take Cincinnati minus to
two and a half.
Speaker 5 (01:18:10):
Cardinals and Vikings.
Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
I'm gonna take the Arizona Cardinals, and I'm taking the
Arizona Cardinals because they're getting three and a half points.
This feels like a Minnesota winning by a field goal
type game. Minnesota, as you've seen a little bit flawed
at times, they were fortunate, you know, to see that
game go the way that it went against Chicago. The
Bears got the ball first in overtime, weren't able to
do anything with it, but had all the momentum. I
(01:18:33):
think that Kyler Murray responds after a subpar performance. I
think they bounce back, and I think they go on
the road, they keep it close. Minnesota still wins, but
I like Arizona getting the three and a half. Book
Seahawks and Jets. I'm taking the Jets plus one and
a half. Why not? Really sure? To be honest with you,
not really sure. Look my best bets were the Cowboys
(01:18:55):
and the Bears getting nine and a half on Thanksgiving.
But this is what we've got to work with. But
I think the Jets respond because Seattle is up and down.
That's the way they've been the past couple of years.
So I'll take New York and Aaron Rodgers to do
it at home. And that is your Week thirteen edition
of Knox Locks. It's been a fun one thanks to Patrick,
Chris and Isaac. We appreciate you. Here on Fox Sports Radio,
Jonas Son of a Bitch,
