about buys. Six of them. Yay fourteen. Uh, not really
the greatest idea about the NFL to have the final
week of the regular season or some leagues where teams.

But hey, there was a time when we had to
live with buys every single week of the NFL season.
At one point week one week seventeen, we had to
deal with it. Then I guess we're gonna have to
deal with this now.

Yeah, it's at six teams on Buy five in the AFC,
and then you're Washington Commanders. They Baltimore Ravens get to
try to figure out their kicking game after Justin Tucker
has cost Lamar Jackson the MVP Award, and then we've
got loud noises.

That's which I did.

That was are we playing that game show that's on
one of those other networks I don't know, Denver, Indianapolis,
New England, Baltimore and the Planet Houston all on buy
alongside the Commanders, So creating some craters in fantasy lineups.
And you know, certainly Dan Thursday night, we got a

dandy in terms of points scored, but maybe not the
game for some of your would be fantasy heroes.

Yeah, that's right.

Tim Patrick's stealing the shows on the Lions side of things,
and Josh Jacobs at the touchdowns. Not the enormous yardage
sort of game. But yeah, to your point, a lot
of points, but maybe not the fantasy output you would expect.
It was the exact opposite, Mike, when I looked at
these buys about two months ago, because you and I

have talked about these schedules, and I said, at the time,
and this is before Washington hit their stride, I thought
that there were.

Maybe two teams Baltimore and Houston.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
That would have playoff implications or a reason to play
for the playoffs that would have to buy this late.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
I'm like, heck, New.

England, Denver, Indianapolis, Washington, they're all going to be playing
for next year. Now. That may not have been verbatim
what I said, but I was probably thinking about it.

Denver firmly locked into the wild card in the AFC,
and if they aren't, the Cults are one of the
teams that can try to knock them off of that.

Washington they're in the thick of it for sure for
the NFC wildcard race, and then Baltimore and Houston all
right there. So basically it's just New England right now.
That's the outside looking in for not having anything to
play for. But at least these teams do have some
playoff implications, something I did not expect two months ago.

Three and ten, and the opportunity to play some spoiler
nixed there.

You know, Hey, you.

Look, you got to find your wins where you can.
And if you're in the final week of your fantasy league,
you may have been informed that you're eliminated from the playoffs.
You know what, that does not unless they've locked you down.
Guess what you can add and drop players. You can
go and change up your line. No, no, don't do the
you know, I'm a childish, you know, a little five
year old. I'm going to you know, release all my players,

which you and I have both been privy too in
fantasy fantasy world. We've seen those dumb asses, I'll call
it what it is, who've gone and done those kind
of things. But look, go and try to win that
five a week's game. It may not upset the Apple
card altogether, but you go out on the high note.

Maybe you got to play spoiler. Maybe if nothing else,
you just get the final point total so you feel
better because you jumped a couple of slots there. Whatever
the case is, finish out the league.

Let's get into it the rankings. Mike Carmen's top five
plays at the quarterback, running back, and wide receiver position.
Yeah there's no Lamar Jackson. Yeah there's no Jaden Daniels
or Bonix or CJ.

Stroud or Anthony Richardson for that matter.

But there are a lot of other plays, Mike, who
are your top five quarterbacks for Week fourteen?

Fun we get deeper down the rabbit hole, but some
of the usual suspects up top. With Joe Burrow, I
don't know which one game I'm gonna probably I'm gonna
probably watch the Simpsons version of this game on Monday
Night Football.

I gotta be honest with you, Joe Burrow.

Over the last couple of weeks, averaging about twenty eight
points per game, Dallas fifth most Fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks.
How about a little Baker Mayfield getting that magic going again.
With Mike Evans going up against Las Vegas looking for
an opportunity for him as well, that's a bottom ten
team against quarterbacks. Jalen Hurts against Carolina sixth most generous.

He's averaging about twenty one a game his last four
Josh Allen, you know the little bit of an outlier,
you know, when you look at this last performance, including
the chaos of that play that folks are still trying
to understand in terms of how does he pass to himself?
You saw the gizelle bunchin memes that float out of
that as well. But in last three games, Yeah, had

a bye week mix. They're in there. When you look
at the last squad right the last four he's averaging
about twenty five points per game, So finding some strides.
You got Cook catching the ball out of the backfield.
Feeling pretty good there. And then finally Tua Tongavi Looa
going up against the New York Football Jets. Last four weeks,
he is the second highest quarterback score in your fantasy league. Yeah,

the Jets are top ten in terms of defense against
fantasy quarterbacks.

I say not so fast. Opportunity for Miami.

Here there they are your top five quarterbacks four week

against Metcalf, so I'm not as quick to say that,
you know, the Jets defense is going to just give

haven't given me or any fans or really anyone watching
football reason to believe in them.

At Sakwon Barkley going up against the Carolina Panthers. You're
watching him just absolutely run rough shot, averaging twenty seven
points per game over this last squad. How about eight
chan go back to against the Jets. We know defensively
against the run, they've been susceptible over time, and eight
chan over the last four weeks. Fifth highest scoring running

back Alvin Kamara. Why he doesn't have? I mean, I
hate to say it, that pesky Taysom Hill creeping around
to take away some of his opportunities going up against
the Giants last three games sixteen thirteen sixteen. Not world beating,
but nice solid back end one high end two for him.
A guy that we hang a star on because the
injury note that's out there, Bucky Irving. If he can

go this week, then yeah, we're looking at him with
an opportunity to go and make some hay against Las
Vegas Tampa Bay. Nearly a touchdown favorite. Forty six is
your total his last three games. He's averaging twenty four
points per game in PPR leagues. He's been fantastic and
nice breakthrough. Yes, Rashat White is still gonna be there,

and you're gonna say, don't give it the ball, give
the ball back to Bucky just because we like yelling Puckey,
And then how about this a little bit of a
price shot. Tony Pollard going against the Jaguars. It's been
a weird up and down.

Roll for him, averaging just eleven points per game his
last four, but it's the Jaguars.

I had considered using Pollard on my Oasis Song of

sort of thinking as I also think this week against
the Jaguars could bear some fruits. But I just wasn't
willing to put him in the Oasis songs spot this week.

few games. Obviously had that fifty five point explosion, that's
off and never Land.

Two over the last four weeks, you know, twenty plus games,
you know, the last three, So getting his job done,
justin Jefferson, and it pains me like doing all the
sorting right and looking at all these different permutations and
output and I'm like, he's not been well, right, he's
not been the focal point.

This is not being good.

But we're gonna go and do you have a shot
here against Atlanta because I think they want to prove
some things. Hey, captain kirk Hi, how you doing it?
Have the eleven point four per game the last four out.
Mike Evin's going against the Las Vegas. You look at
his breakout last week. You already missed the game to injury.
That had a bye week, slow return with a twelve

point performance and then a big bust out mid twenties
last week. Aj Brown going up against Carolina looking at
about seventeen points per week in fantasy leagues point per
reception leagues the last four so we'll go with him,
and then Puka Na Kua. He's number two to chase
over the last four weeks, averaging nearly twenty one points
per game. Opportunity here because they're going to need to

score against Buffalo. This is one of the fun games
of the week.

Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yeah, Puka stepped up as a Cooper Cup owner. I
am fully aware a Cup at a rough on last
week against the New Orleans Saints, but it has been
the Puka show. It's funny because I always love to
look back at who I thought of the preseason, and
we'll do this at the end of our season, so
this may be a little taste of it. But I
wasn't as high on Pooka as other people were. I
(11:55):
think that we've I think even just a talk of
trading Cooper Cup shows you kind of where the rams
are on the wide receiver in him moving on. But
when looking at your rankings and bringing up the names there,
Bucky Irving at the running back position, Mike, we know
fantasy experts will just throw out second team running backs

without knowing anything about guys, just be like, look at
this guy so they can say that they're in on them.
You know, it's like, well, you've named twenty six backup
running backs in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
How do I know how to pick? How do I
know who to pick?
Speaker 3 (12:28):
I know people don't love her shod White, but Bucky
Irving was a guy that I was just like, Okay,
I really don't believe it. I really don't. I don't
see it. And sure enough he's gone and taken away
and head lift off. So when we do our end
of season regrets, I think those are a couple of
names are going to hear from me.

Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
I mean with Irving, you've seen him show up weekly
in the passing game. And then Rashad White is at
his opportunities, whether it's the hey, I'm just going to
fall forward kind of thing and not really a lot
of explosiveness fumbling issues, all of those things when you're
living on the mar urgent. Like the Buccaneers are in
a division that's you know not, you know, not one

that we hold up as a great beacon of light
in the NFL. But it's competitive, yeah, right, especially now
that Carolina has found you know, at least a little
bit something. Now they may fall to defeat and there
may be some disastrous end of game sequences not quite
the Bears, but at times similar.

But they're they're competitive, and that's that's the.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Fun as we get down the stretch, like, all right,
here's some guys off second chances, some guys that are
breaking through. But yeah, I've got a laundry list of
guys that failed me, or maybe I failed the fantasy
community by believing in them. I'm gonna blame them for
their performance.

Well, i'll tell you what again, the NFL failed us
all by having buys in Week fourteen. And I'll say this,
if they wanted to have buys, that's fine. Just don't
have six teams on buy. Just give it the two
teams and make it good. They've wreaked a lot of
havoc in fantasy leagues because of this decision. All right,
those are Mike's top five plays a quarterback, running back,

and wide receiver going into this podcast. There were two
players that I hope Mike would say because I may
be putting my fantasy playoff lives on the line for
these two players.

I didn't think they were going to be in the
top five.

I knew they weren't going to be in the top five,
but I want to know if they're either a hot
play or a ninja, and I hope they're not a
cold sort. We're going to find out all that information.

to cook up some hot plays for week fourteen. These
are the guys that Mike Harmon does not have in

Mike. Let's get right into it. Who are your hot
plays for Week fourteen?
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Sam Sam Sam Sam about nineteen points per game allowed
to oppose in quarterbacks by the Atlanta Falcons. That's tied
for seventh most in your National Football League. For Darnold
over the last stretch eleventh amongst quarterbacks, like it doesn't
always have to be pretty, but the guy's getting the
job done. And for fantasy owners, he's been pretty rock
(15:08):
steady throughout the season. Here's another opportunity. This is a
fascinating game for me. As we get ready for this
one Minnesota, I thought, yeah, I thought it.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Was going to be a primetime game.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
I thought they would put this in like Week three,
you know, like the like a return sort of game.
I thought this would have been bigger on the NFL's priority.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Not that we're all up in the Kirk Cousins, but
it is.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
It would have been an interesting matchup, especially to at
the time that the schedules made JJ McCarthy was healthy
and could have been could have been the guy. I
thought that this actually was going to be a primetime game,
and it's anything. But it's in Week fourteen and it's
at one o'clock Eastern time.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
Yeah, and obviously we didn't get the flex out of
the Monday game because of all the money invested in
the Simpsons overlay that I alluded to earlier.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
So and it's.

Dallas maybe not get rid of downas even if Cincinnati's bad.
Joe Burrow just bought the Bleep and Batmobile. I mean,
come on, it all writes itself one of ten, by
the way, three million dollars, all sorts of I did.

Yeah, and I'll say this, so you know they're focusing
on all four teams of the NFC North Well, one
of the teams played Monday night, so we have to
wait till next week to see what happened with Jamis
and the Browns. Yeah, they did a couple of shots
like pregame locker room, but they obviously didn't have enough
time to turn it around and put it into the episode.

And so yeah, so that defeats the purpose a little
bit with some of it.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Yeah, with his four ninety seven and six touchdowns, four
for them, two for you, good times all around. All right,
let's get back to the hot place. Kayleb Williams going
to against San Francisco last two weeks of total of
fifty three point Sure, they might only be playing one
half of football.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
It's my running joke right now.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
It's like, yeah, we figure it out at halftime and
we start playing from there. San Francisco twelve best, But
let's face that they're crumbling. This is the battle of
two teams that had wonderful expectations and now a lot
of hand ringing and who wants to race to the
bottom first. But for Thomas Brown, it's his audition to
be the Bears head coach. Great working your way up.

I mean that's multiple promotions in eighteen days. So godspeed
and good luck to him. But you've got all those
weapons deployed run game. You've seen more of Johnson alongside Swift,
So looking for an opportunity there running back position, Chase Brown.
Let's go back to the Bengals Cowboys games. Expect to
hear his number quite a bit. Sure, Michah Parsons is

lurking and looming, but we've seen teams move the ball
on Dallas all season long, and one thing they do
not have a problem with in Cincinnati is the offense.

I'm looking at you, Lou out of Romo.

Get something right, all right, Rico Dwell on the other
side of that game, why not twenty one points his
last time out? He will be the bell cow. Got
a little something cooking there. That offense looked interesting at
least of late. T Higgins gets his Malik neighbors in
an opportunity here. Look, I don't expect them to light

up the scoreboard, but we know he's going to get
his targets. They may not come until after halftime. They
may not be quality targets, but they are gonna be there.
Last two weeks fourteen catches twenty seven targets one hundred
and thirty three yards for him. Not world beating, but
all we can give you in week fourteen is opportunity
with one game in the books and six teams on buy.

Yeah, he popped up on the injury report Thursday, so
something to just check out. But he has been dealing
with stuff throughout the season, so it may not be anything.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Yeah, we want to go back to the to the
well one more time. Is you're looking at the Chargers,
Lad McConkey, you know has the the asterisk next to him,
right if obviously, if he plays, he's in target machine.
If he doesn't, we start going down that depth chart
a little bit, which gets us into some strange bedfellows.

But Quentin Johnston, they still want to target him deep.
They still want to make some plays, and I think
they're going to need to try to try to stretch
things out to give Gus Edwards and company a little
bit of a chance in the run game.

Yeah, and Quentin Johnson can't drop every pass.

No, that's right. Eventually one's got to hit the stick them.

getting better play out of the running back position, more

Star on it because odds are again with all those
teams on by he's fighting his way into your lineup.
It's just the Chargers still trying to figure out, you know,
as we step up in class into some of these games,
what that defense truly is. This is gonna be one
of those tests talked about. Captain Kirk mentioned him in
passing seven point eight points per game is last three

as a guy who had him in a two QB league.
He is single handedly cost me two games. He and
Justin Tucker conspired to cost me two games down the
stretch here that would have made me probably playoff eligible,
and he got Kirk.

Yes, just a little bit, no question about it. Look,
you know, on the show earlier in the week, Smith
was like, all right, it's the last stand right, revenge game,

I'm like, Wow, it's interesting because they've actually got a
pretty advantageous schedule down the stretch, so be curious if
they were to, you know, pull the old hook.

You mentioned Jamis Winston before going up against the Steelers again. Look,
he's gonna keep winging it. So again a given the
some of the matchups as well as the bye weeks,
he's probably finding his way towards your lineup. Danger spot,
danger spot, This is where bad Jamis can really.

Sorry, your guy, Kenneth Walker the third finds his way
here against Arizona well exactly and last time out, though,
you did have fifty two receiving yards on four catches,
So maybe a little bit of love there, So back

more for you. Garrett Wilson going up against Miami, Sorry,

gotta do it. Uh They've been the best against wide outs.
And then you've got Chewba Hubbard going up against Philadelphia.
Not looking at after effects of the fumble or anything,
but Philadelphia's defense just been flying around and it looks
like most of their mainstays are going to be back
on the field, at least from the practice reports. So

So the two this week got the Tennessee Titans and
the Arizona Cardinals. I'm sorry, Dan, The Cardinals are going
against the Seahawks, but they're fifty four percent rostered, which
is a little more than the Titans, So the Cardinals
are gonna be a little less available, but like I said,
playing against the Seahawks. Seahawks are coming off three straight wins,
which is big, but they've been low scoring wins, which
(33:27):
is why we're targeting them here. Gino has been prone
to turnovers this season. He's on a four game streak
of taking three plus sacks. And actually these two teams,
the Cardinals and Seahawks, they just played each other two
weeks ago. The Cardinals had five sacks and scored twelve
fantasy points. So if they can get some sort of
repeat performance there, that would be a pretty good outing
(33:49):
fantasy defense wise. And then the other ones, the Tennessee Titans,
they're thirty three percent rostered. They're playing against the Jaguars.
They're starting Mac Jones, which we alluded to earlier. Jones
has been pre turnover prone throughout his career, and then
in the two games he started this year, the Jags
have scored less than ten points.

It's probably you know, I wouldn't say it's a safe bet,
but you know it's you know, leaning that way that
they'll probably be a lower scoring team here this week,
and now they're actually facing oh, the Titans defense something
that's something else.

The Titans defense has actually been really good this year
under the radar, sneaky good. So the fact that they're
actually facing a legitimately bad team right now with a
huge question market quarterback.

I could for my Survivor pick have used the Dolphins,
but I think I used them a couple of weeks ago,
so I'm moving off of that. I also like your
Titans pick, but I'm going to if I had to

shocker because it's a divisional game, it's rivalry. I take
Steelers over Browns. Mike mentioned it earlier, just of Cleveland

going up against Pittsburgh, and then you have to think
of the f to what Cleveland's got to go through.
They just played a game on Monday night in Denver
on the road, and now I have a short week
and you're in Pittsburgh to play. That's just it's tough
to bounce back from. I know, there could be some
motivation with Nick Chubb. I'm playing Nick Chubb this week,
by the way, that would be a hint to you

because of the comeback, and it's been a storyline this
week of that's where he hurt his knee last year
in Week two. But I like the Steelers as my
survivor pick for this week. They're a six and a
half point favorite. Eagles obviously over the Panthers would be
one that's popular if Philadelphia still available, But to go
a rung lower, I'd take Pittsburgh at home just because
of the short week with Cleveland.

I'd dig it, opportunity knocks and like a big emotional
game again to Denver, only to come on the wrong
side of it, because not only do you have all
those gaudy statistics us by two.

an opportunity for him as well, that's a bottom ten
team against quarterbacks. Jalen Hurts against Carolina sixth most generous.

Josh Allen, you know the little bit of an outlier,
you know, when you look at this last performance, including
the chaos of that play that folks are still trying
to understand in terms of how does he pass to himself?

at the last squad right the last four he's averaging
about twenty five points per game, So finding some strides.
You got Cook catching the ball out of the backfield.

he is the second highest quarterback score in your fantasy league. Yeah,

fantasy quarterbacks.

this guy so they can say that they're in on them.
You know, it's like, well, you've named twenty six backup
running backs in the NFL.

Irving was a guy that I was just like, Okay,

of season regrets, I think those are a couple of

I mean with Irving, you've seen him show up weekly
in the passing game. And then Rashad White is at

a division that's you know not, you know, not one

that we hold up as a great beacon of light
in the NFL. But it's competitive, yeah, right, especially now
that Carolina has found you know, at least a little

the Bears, but at times similar.

job done. And for fantasy owners, he's been pretty rock

steady throughout the season. Here's another opportunity. This is a
fascinating game for me. As we get ready for this
one Minnesota, I thought, yeah, I thought it.

I thought they would put this in like Week three,
you know, like the like a return sort of game.
I thought this would have been bigger on the NFL's priority.

the time that the schedules made JJ McCarthy was healthy

not have a problem with in Cincinnati is the offense.

something to just check out. But he has been dealing

use him at some point here as soon as they

So the two this week got the Tennessee Titans and
the Arizona Cardinals. I'm sorry, Dan, The Cardinals are going
against the Seahawks, but they're fifty four percent rostered, which
is a little more than the Titans, So the Cardinals
are gonna be a little less available, but like I said,
playing against the Seahawks. Seahawks are coming off three straight wins,
which is big, but they've been low scoring wins, which
(33:27):
is why we're targeting them here. Gino has been prone
to turnovers this season. He's on a four game streak
of taking three plus sacks. And actually these two teams,
the Cardinals and Seahawks, they just played each other two
weeks ago. The Cardinals had five sacks and scored twelve
fantasy points. So if they can get some sort of
repeat performance there, that would be a pretty good outing
(33:49):
fantasy defense wise. And then the other ones, the Tennessee Titans,
they're thirty three percent rostered. They're playing against the Jaguars.
They're starting Mac Jones, which we alluded to earlier. Jones
has been pre turnover prone throughout his career, and then
in the two games he started this year, the Jags
have scored less than ten points.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
So he's starting again here.
Speaker 6 (34:11):
It's probably you know, I wouldn't say it's a safe bet,
but you know it's you know, leaning that way that
they'll probably be a lower scoring team here this week,
and now they're actually facing oh, the Titans defense something
that's something else.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
I want to say.
Speaker 6 (34:24):
The Titans defense has actually been really good this year
under the radar, sneaky good. So the fact that they're
actually facing a legitimately bad team right now with a
huge question market quarterback.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
I like the Titans could have.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
I could for my Survivor pick have used the Dolphins,
but I think I used them a couple of weeks ago,
so I'm moving off of that. I also like your
Titans pick, but I'm going to if I had to
give you one. Not a shocker here, but it's a
shocker because it's a divisional game, it's rivalry. I take
Steelers over Browns. Mike mentioned it earlier, just of Cleveland
(34:57):
going up against Pittsburgh, and then you have to think
of the f to what Cleveland's got to go through.
They just played a game on Monday night in Denver
on the road, and now I have a short week
and you're in Pittsburgh to play. That's just it's tough
to bounce back from. I know, there could be some
motivation with Nick Chubb. I'm playing Nick Chubb this week,
by the way, that would be a hint to you
(35:18):
because of the comeback, and it's been a storyline this
week of that's where he hurt his knee last year
in Week two. But I like the Steelers as my
survivor pick for this week. They're a six and a
half point favorite. Eagles obviously over the Panthers would be
one that's popular if Philadelphia still available, But to go
a rung lower, I'd take Pittsburgh at home just because
of the short week with Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
I'd dig it, opportunity knocks and like a big emotional
game again to Denver, only to come on the wrong
side of it, because not only do you have all
those gaudy statistics us by two.
Speaker 5 (35:50):
Scores when it's all said, sure, just brutal.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
And if you were betting boy, I tell you that
that's one of the worst. You get the pass interference
down to the one and then he throws the pick.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Yeah, so tough, so tough to take points of palooza.
You know what. I kind of alluded to it earlier
that I we.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
Haven't had a we haven't really had a crazy Cardinals
game this year. True, I know they're a different Cardinals team.
Maybe it happens this time around, maybe this is maybe
this is the one. Actually, don't want to take that back.
They had a crazy game against the Bills to open
the season. Is now as I look at their at
their ledger. They had the comeback win against the forty

nine ers, but that wasn't necessarily crazy. They didn't have
a neat game against the Dolphins. I think they're due
for another. Give me Seahawks and Cardinals and they in
a points of palooza that's kind of off. The radar
Ian's data is correct and everything that he said, but
let me just let.

Me just get a little little odd feeling.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
On that one. So I'll take the Seahawks and Cardinals
and my Oasis song of the week. Guys, I haven't
used wonder Wall yet again, the most popular song that
Oasis has. If you're an Oasis fan you may be
bothered by it. Still a great song, so I had
to use it at some point, and why not use
it at the end of the regular season. I have

been a Josh Allen owner for three years in our
keeper league. I then drafted him again when he was
back in our pool Mike Hannam and his rankings at
number four. I love Josh Allen against the Rams of
this past week or this upcoming week because I remember
when they opened up the season against the Rams.

They had a great game.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
In Week one a few years ago, and I think
that continues with much better conditions than they had to
deal with a week ago.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
So Josh Allen is my wonderwall this week.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Look at that second week as an engaged man. Hailey
Steinfeld expected to be in LA for this one.

in your fandom and certainly for fantasy purposes. Still need
some explosiveness on the scoreboard at least one more time.

And if you didn't like the NFL's funkiness, they're doing
the double Monday night game in week fifteen, so prepare
