Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio live in the dream
once again here on a fully loaded sports Saturday. This
is Fox Football Saturday, and we're broadcasting live from the
ti rack dot Com studios. Tire rack dot com. We're
gonna help get you there and I match selection, fast
ree shipping, free road ass protection, over ten thousand recommended installers,
(00:21):
tie iraq dot com the way tire buying should be, Matzi.
We come in here every Saturday and we always have
a lot of things to talk about, but rarely do
we have a day with this much important action. You know,
we have two NFL games today, all teams are going
to be heading into the postseason, three college football playoff games.
(00:44):
It really doesn't get any better than this.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
And you didn't even mention my Chargers kicking ass and
taking names. I don't even know how we're gonna fit
that in, but you are right, like, there's so much
important stuff going on right before our eyes.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
All right, Well, you mentioned the Chargers with impressive come
for behind win against I dare say my Denver Broncos.
The good news for the Broncos and the Chargers. We're
gonna see both those teams in the postseason. Barring some
unforeseen catastrophe, both those teams are gonna move on to
the postseason. All right. Just to update to right now,
we're at the half and the Ravens after a last
(01:19):
second field goal by the Steelers, lead Pittsburgh by a
score of seventeen and ten. Of course, the Ravens right
now in a wild car position, Steelers leading their division.
Then of course, earlier today, once again, the Chiefs. Every
week they go from the worst eleven to one team,
twelve to one team, thirteen and one team. Now they're
the worst fourteen to one team.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
And I think they care.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
They really don't care. I mean, the devastating injury to
Tank Dell for the Texans on a touchdown play awful
and you know, it was gruesome. He's going to spend
the night overnight in the hospital. But it just deflated
that team completely. And then it doesn't help when my
(02:01):
former Ucile bruin Kaymie Fairbairn, after they finally got the
you know, the ambulance onto the field take Tankdell off
misses the extra point and was like, Okay, they're done,
because at that point it would have tied the game.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Such a rough moment because we see injuries, you know,
happen frequently, but they don't tend to happen after a
touchdown catch. Yeah, and so how do you go from
celebrating an exciting moment to realizing that I almost wish
I didn't throw that touch?
Speaker 3 (02:30):
CJ.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Stroud literally is in tears.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
I know, awful offense.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
I mean he is in tears on the sidelines. I
knew right then. Once again, somehow the Chiefs catch a
break and they come up now as the worst fourteen
to one team in the history of the NFL. But
at some point you have to give him credit, right
they find ways to win. Meanwhile, so again, Ravens leave
the Steelers seventeen to ten. The college playoff game right now,
(02:55):
and this is a trend that we are seeing so
far in these college football playoffs. Last night, don't be
fulled by the final score. It was a Notre Dame
blowout over Indiana. Earlier today Penn State blew out Southern Methodists,
and right now Texas has a twenty eight to ten
halftime lead against the ACC champion Clemson. I'm not really
(03:19):
surprised here, Monci. The home field obviously means a lot
in this opening round of the playoffs, and I even predicted.
I wasn't so much saying look out for this first
round of the playoffs, and of course we're gonna get
you ready for the last game in this first round,
which is hopefully a competitive game coming up with Tennessee
going into Columbus to take on Ohio State. But it's
(03:42):
the next round to me that is really going to
be interesting because when you think about it, we're not
talking home field. These will be at neutral sites. And
the teams that are sitting there waiting Oregon, Georgia, Boise
State in Arizona State, they will been off three weeks.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah, like last week or two weeks ago talking about
the schedule, and I guess I hadn't seen it with
my eyes. The dates you're telling me, PennState and Boise
State don't play until December thirty.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
First, right, it's not next Saturday. They're playing New Year's
Eve New Year's Day, which is in the middle of
the following week. So yeah, those four schools will have
been off like a month.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Why are we doing that? And then we have a
day like today where we have the NFL competing with
some maybe boring college football playoff games. You could say,
but why are we having them on the same day.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Well, the NFL is gonna They're gonna schedule their games
whenever they want to schedule.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, no, no, I'm not blaming the NFL.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yar, We're gonna see Saturday. Yeah, We're gonna have plenty
of Saturday NFL football in the weeks ahead, Monseie. Now
the NFL doesn't care about that. I remember for years
they stayed away from Christmas Day, sort of allowed the
NBA to have it. Allow that's not happening anymore, as
they're just blowing the NBA out on Christmas Day right now.
So you know again, I'm I'm a lot of people
(04:58):
will say, okay, well, you know, did SMU really belong?
Did Indiana really belong? I put it this way. The
one thing about the committee when they selected the teams
that made the field of twelve, at least they were consistent.
They were not panalizing teams for losing their conference championship game,
which is why Texas ends up as a five seed.
(05:20):
Penn State was a sixth seed. You know, so if
you and y SMU made the tournament as well, I
think the one takeaway I have so far is that
we don't need more than twelve.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Absolutely. Even with the twelve though, it's just do you
have the great teams, the good teams, and then the
kind of good teams. And you were seeing this with
the twelve right now, I agree, do not extend it.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
It almost seems like twelve was too much at this point.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Wait, yes, it seems like it was too much.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
It really depends on that last game coming up. And again,
that game's going to be kicking off in a couple
hours when the balls at Tennessee headed into Columbus to
take on a stumbling Ohio State. Say this about that game.
If Ryan Day loses that game at home, I wouldn't
answer the phone. I'll put it that way.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Indeed, on Christmas Day.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
The way they lost that game to Michigan, if they
were to end their season with a home loss against
Tennessee in the playoffs, that would be hard. But after
this day, I think though, we will have some very
interesting matchups in the quarterfinals. I do want to make
one point here. If you only listen to our Saturday
show last Saturday, of course, we went on before they
(06:31):
announced the Heisman Trophy, and I couldn't tell you who
I had picked. Well, I will now make it clear
that my pick in the Heisman, as I cast my ballot,
I had Ashton genty one, I had Drafts Hunter two,
and I had Dylan Gabriel three. So Pro Football Focus PFF.
(06:52):
You hear about Pro Football Focus Ashton genty's Pro Football
score this year, and this goes back to twenty thirteen,
when Pro Football Focus actually started grading out all players
at all positions. His score for twenty twenty four would
have been the highest of any Heisman Trophy winner ever, Yes,
(07:15):
even higher than Joe Burrow's sixty touchdown season. He had
a higher Pro Football rating than Joe Burrow, any Heisman
Trophy winner ever. Where does Travis Hunter rank the lowest,
third lowest of the thirteen years, or actually of the
(07:36):
twelve years he has the third lowest rating. This is
not a knock on Travis Hunter to me. It's really
about how many media members fully bought into the hype
machine this award. As much as Travis Hunter, you know,
certainly had a very unique year playing both ways and
everything else, you might ask why Didntder Sanders get more votes?
(08:00):
He barely showed up on any ballots at all despite
having a phenomenal year quarterback in the Colorado team. But
this was about Dion. This was really about the hype
of Dion Sanders that to me got enough media members
onto this Travis Center. I think what happened was that
last weekend when Ashton Genty had that huge game against UNLV,
(08:23):
you know, another seventy five yard touchdown run, and obviously
Travis Center was not playing because Colorado didn't even make
it to their conference championship game, where some votes were swayed.
It was actually the closest vote in fifteen years, so
I was happy to see that. But yeah, this second
straight year now the guy I voted for did not win.
I had panics last year over Jayden Daniels. But yeah,
(08:46):
I fully support my pick for Ashton Genty.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
I don't have a pick unlike you maybe one day,
but I also would have voted for Ashton Genty. Again,
no knock on Travis Hunter because what he was doing
was incredible to watch, just like Ashton Genty. I do
agree with you that maybe the hype the deon Sanders Colorado,
he was the sexier pick, right, He was the sexier
(09:12):
pick because, like everybody kept saying, we don't see this.
We don't see players playing on both sides of the ball.
Almost ninety eight percent of the snaps is. Every time
I heard with Ashton Genty, people were like, well, we're
gonna see this again, Like, we'll see it again eventually.
We haven't seen it in a long time, but we'll
see it again. And I I one hundred percent would
have voted for Ashton Genty. And we talked about how
(09:33):
like everybody was gonna everybody was talking about Travis Hunter
winning in a landslide, and then it came out and
it was a lot closer, which was at least at
least that you know, but.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
I think a lot of people at the end really
took a step back because the knock on Genty was
he plays in the Mountain West. Right, Well, that's interesting
because Boise States the number three seed in the playoff.
They're set at ahead of well, that's right, the Big
Twelve champion, which was Arizona State. By the way, that's
an Arizona State team that was three and nine the
(10:05):
year before. Remember Colorado was four and eighth the year before.
Out of the Pack twelve, they go into the Big Twelve.
So my point here was Are you telling me that
the Big Twelve was significantly better than the Mountain West
this year because they weren't?
Speaker 2 (10:21):
They weren't.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Yeah, it wasn't that way at all. When you have
two teams that were also rans in the Pac Twelve
last year suddenly dynamite when they moved into the Big Twelve,
I think that tells you about the overall strength of
the Big Twelve. It was a down year. I mean
Iowa State who was in the Big Twelve championship game?
They hadn't. It was nineteen twenty something, the last name
(10:42):
they won a conference championship. It was a week year
for the Big Twelve and the Mountain West. Did you
see UNLV the other day against cal Yep. That's a
good team. Yeah, that's a really good team. So we
got a lot of college football we're going to get
to you today. Also, we're going to.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Have breaking news here, according to our producer.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
Patrick, breaking news from Fox four.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
We've been waiting a couple hours for confirmation on this,
but it has been officially reported now seeing it from
Jeff Passon and a few other sources that multiple sources
in now reporting that baseball great Ricky Henderson is now
is has died at the age of sixty five. Great speed,
the King of Steel, the Man of Steel has passed
(11:29):
the age of sixty five.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
All right, Well, I'm going to have much more Ricky Henderson,
because I got to know Ricky Henderson is his time
with the podres greatestly off hitter in the history baseball,
no questions asked, still holds the Major Loge record most
run scored in a career, much less the stolen base record.
But we'll have much more on the passing of all
time baseball legend Ricky Henderson, who, by the way, was
(11:53):
to celebrate his sixty sixth birthday on Christmas Day. All right.

we had a big Charger win against the Broncos on Thursday,
we got a fully loaded Sunday. Who's gonna break it down?
You know who? Our NFL insider, Adam Kaplan will join us.
This is Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Steve Harban, Monci Belanos. Here, this is Fox Football Saturday,
and we're coming live from the tai Iraq dot com studios.
Twelve minutes to go on the third quarter, Ravens leading
the Steelers to ten and in the playoff game going
on right now, eight minutes to go on the third
Texas dominating Clemson by a score of thirty one to ten.
(13:08):
All right, already a lot in the books this week
around the National Football League. Ready to break it down
is Adam Kaplan, our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider. All right, Adam,
I'm not going to spoil Monzie's fun on what happened
on Thursday, so I'll hold off on that. But I
want to talk about this game earlier today with the
Texans and the devastating injury to Tank Dell, and it
(13:33):
just seems again that the Chiefs are catching every break
every week. We say they're the worst eleven and one team,
wors twelve and one team, we's thirteen to one team.
Now they're the worst fourteen and one team. I've been
making a pitch for Andy Reid, Well, if they're that bad,
then he's doing a hell of a job coaching this team.
What are you seeing from the Chiefs right now? Because
(13:54):
obviously that touchdown and then you know, Fairburn misses the
extra point after they am Villens takes Dell off the field,
and it just seemed to completely deflate that Texans team.
But what are you making of what I think, in
a lot of ways is a very historic season so
far for these Chiefs.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
I mean, it's an incredible Steve. This stat that I
heard today was crazy. So they're now thirty one and
one over the last five years when they get when
they take away the ball twice at least, so that's
still their defense is phenomenon. We don't talk about de Spagnolo,
their defense coordinator. Now, remember he was the Rams that
coach at one point didn't go up for Spags. He's
out of football for a little bit. Your Seam Payton
(14:34):
let him go as the SAME's defense coordinator. But he's
revived his career and now he's really one of the
best defense coordinators many years. The NaSTA FOOTBA League ball
type team without him, I'll say that's an offense. Xavier
Worthy's really come on. But what's interesting about Worthy's performances season.
It's not a lot deep. You know, he was an
(14:55):
elite deep rat at Texas, but they don't use him
like that. But sure to intermediate. But the bottom line
is they've been more efficient offense, kind of like last year,
by the way, but they were unable to get the
ball down in field and they're really not turn it
over much. So that's how they're winning. But I want
to give their defensive shout out, Steve. It's their defense.
It more or less is carrying the football team right now.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Adam, I feel like you haven't believed in my Chargers
this season. They that great comeback. My question though, is
do you think there's a chance here that the Chargers
maybe sign Deontay Johnson.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
Yeah, Now here's what happened. My understanding with his contract
as I was told yesterday. He got it.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
You know.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
The way that they worked this out with the Ravens
is they said, listen, we're we were not going to
play a if we release you, we want to cut.
We want if you're not claimed because we'd be on
the hook for the money. We want a cut of
your contract. So they redid his contract. They understand it,
and he should be claimed off waivers now because he
(16:01):
refuses to go in the game against the Eagles. Plems
know this. This is not a secret, and you got
to feel comfortable coming into your locker room. And obviously,
if you're gonna claim him, you want to be a
super Bowl team. And you got to be able to
handle the player, because when you quit on a football
team like that, you don't believe. I would say, we
don't want him, and we have to understand.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Well, it's hard to label someone as both a big
winner and a big loser in the same season, but
you'd have to say, Kirk Cousins is that. So Kirk
Cousins leaves the Vikings basically without a quarterback, surprising a
lot of people. He goes to Atlanta. The Vikings don't
miss a beat. In fact, they're way better than they
(16:46):
were with Kirk Cousins sitting at twelve and two. He
has now been benched. His time in Atlanta is over,
so from that standpoint, he's a big loser. He also
collects ninety million dollars for fourteen games, ninety million, so
on that point he's really a big winner. So try
(17:09):
to explain to us why a Falcons team still just
one game out of a playoff spot with three games
re Mining made this move to dump their quarterback put
in the rookie why.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
Now, Yeah, I know that's surprising. I get it, Steve.
Most people were, but this is my understanding. Cousins had
regressed so badley over the last five games. They fell
at this point that playing Michael Pennick Junior, their first
round pick, there was a surprise. And there's no question
about considering the first two years of cousins contract ninety
(17:45):
millions fully guaranteed, that's really the real breakdown. But they
felt like at this point Cousins was in the tank
so badley he couldn't get out of it. So I
want to tell you one thing that two people from
other teams told me. The structure in their passing game
two people whose teams are going up to the Falcons.
They don't think that. They don't think the structure of
(18:06):
the past game is great. Didn't help them. That's the
an opinion of some other people who don't work for
the Falcons, who work for the teams. So I took
that out on their advisement. But look, Steeve, it didn't work.
They're mining When you bench this guy, when you fully
guarantee ninety million to two years, you're admitting you got
it wrong. They completely got it wrong. Now, what they
(18:26):
won't say publicly, but what I strongly believe is this is.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
A home game.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
The Giants are decimated by injury on defense. This is
a game where Pennic's probably in front of the home crouch.
You get off to good start that I am positive happened,
whether they want admit it or not.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Adam, I want to chat about the Eagles and the
Commander's game on Sunday. The Eagles are favorites three and
a half, but I feel like the Commanders are kind
of coming together and that they can maybe pull off
this upset Am.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
I crazy, Well, the first game, Mancie, that they played
earlier season. Don't forget the Commanders actually led in the
fourth start the fourth quarter. Then they couldn't stop Barkley
and there was an onslot of points and the Egles
one convincingly finish it. But remember Daniels had that bad
rib injury. He looks bad in that game. He's fully healthy.
(19:21):
Now he's played really well lately. They've got a shot
to win it. But there's been no better defensive football
since Week six. Eagles are number one in sacks, number
one at points against, yardage against, scoring against. And here's
the problem. You'll see this tomorrow. Terry McLaurin had one
catch for ten yards in that first matchup. Tell them
(19:43):
the way somehow. They've got to find a way to
get sewn up to the football. This is what Adam Peters,
the general manager guys, has to do in the offseason.
He's got to add two significant pieces at wide receiver.
They got to help this quarterback. But I'll tell you what,
Daniel's just really rebounded after a really tough middle of
the season, playing really, really really well.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Right now the Rams once again Sean McVay showing the
world this is a Hall of Fame coach. This team
started one and four. They've now won seven of their
last nine games. By the way, they have wins over
the Vikings and the Bills. Okay, Vikings are twelve and two,
Bills are what eleven and three? They have beaten both
(20:24):
of those teams, and if you look at the remainder
of their schedule at the Jets, Cardinals at home, Seahawks
at home, they could be coasting to an NFC West crown.
Just how impressive has the job been And this is
almost a repeat of what happened last year when they
won eight of the last nine games to get into
the postseason. But how impressive is it what Sean McVay
(20:45):
has done again this year with the Rams And do
they pose any threat if they make it into the postseason?
Speaker 6 (20:53):
They do, Steve, because you mentioned the Bills game. They
were on absolute fire on offense. That was incredible, the
unslaught that they had. But two things I do want
to mention which have been pretty fascinating. Let's start defensively
with Chris Shula, who was a teammate of Sean McVeigh
and they remember they can actually played together at Mayama, Ohio,
so they've known each other for a long time. It
(21:14):
was kind of surprised when he gave Krashola that job
as the first year defensive coordinator. He's done a great job.
Jared Versus is probably gonna get my vote for Defensive
Rookie the Year for the Pro Football under Association. That's
where I'm leaning right now. But here's another thing. You know,
most people don't know this. They've actually benched two guys
on their starting offensive line. Jonah Jackson who was hurt
he didn't get his job back. Another guy on the
(21:38):
offensive line they benched. So they've done this with a
couple of curious moves. Tired Williams one of the most
underrated backs in football. Nobody can handle Pooka Nakula. And
you know the other thing this guys, what Sean McVeigh
does with these receivers is he doesn't ask them new
things they can do. They play mostly inside that outside,
and it's hard to cover these guys and it's great coaching.
(22:00):
Steepier's thing is it's kind of they're kind of a
team that not a lot of people talk about because
they're not a glamour team if you really look at
their situation. When I remember talking the Rams about this
when they won their Super Bowl. Their season ticket renewal
rate wasn't super high because they're just they're really good
and really well coached, and they've got a great front office.
(22:22):
But I don't know if they've ticket you know, you're
out there. I don't think they've taken us the storm out.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
There with no no.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
I mean, it's unbelievable that once again we're looking at
both LA teams getting into the postseason and it's getting
pretty much a collective yawn in the city of LA
which is mind blowing to me. But at least that's
that's where it is right now. All right, Well, Adam
and Tay what it's unbelievable. We're at week sixteen in
the NFL. It's that crazy. It's coming down the stretch,
(22:49):
some big games coming up this weekend. No one cover
is it better than our own, Adam Kaplam, Adam, have
a great week of Merry Christmas to you and we'll
talk to you coming up next Saturday.
Speaker 6 (23:00):
So good, thank you.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
That's Adam Kaplan, our NFL insider. All right, let's find
out what is trending right now, what's going on here house? Well,
you musical chairs.
Speaker 5 (23:10):
Around just you got to wear many hats in this business.
You know that, Steve, you have to jump around quite
a bit. Keep everything busy. Put me and coach. That's
been the you know for thirty five years. You know,
put me in coach, five tool player, yeah, both ways,
iron man, things of that nature.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
That's what you gotta do. It's gotta do very busy,
Hugh ysay in football time. We're going to try to
catch you up on all of that. Right now.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
There the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers seventeen
to ten. However, the Steelers have just entered the red zone.
Looking to drive. Some news for them though, is that
Joey Porter Junior has now been ruled out for the
rest of the game with a calf injury, their cornerback.
So that'll be something to keep an eye on going forward.
It's the four minutes left in the third quarter for
(23:54):
Texas against Clemson thirty one to ten. This game's kind
of been out of reach for Clemson all day long.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Here.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
Tank Dell was injured in after a touchdown pass earlier
for the Houston Texans. He was going to remain overnight
in the University of Kansas City Medical Center for a
significant knee injury. However, in that game, Chiefs twenty seven
Houston Texans nineteen, Chiefs improved to fourteen and one, and
(24:22):
there it is touchdown for the Pittsburgh Steelers extra point penning.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
And this is going to.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
Be a brand new ball game. We mentioned earlier, I
believe we do. We are only less than two minutes
now away from Montana State punching their ticket to the
FCS playoffs thirty one seventeen over South Dakota. Right now
they will go on to play North Dakota State, who
(24:48):
earlier beat South Dakota State twenty eight to twenty one.
And Farris State Division two has earned its third national
title Division two in four years, beating up Valdosta State
final score in that forty nine to fourteen. But outside
of football, the big story that just broke at the
(25:09):
top of this about fifteen minutes ago, we did get
confirmation that Hall of Fame Hall of Famer leadoff hitter
Ricky Henderson has passed at the age of sixty five.
He was the leader of stolen bases in Major League
Baseball at oney four hundred and six, had over three
hundred three thousand hits, two hundred and two hundred and
ninety five runs in his career. He passed the age
(25:32):
of sixty five and his birthday would have been on Christmas.
So very sad time for a passing of a legend
of a man, a very colorful man everyone loved, who
would talk about himself in third person quite a bit.
So I know you have plenty of memories of him, Steve.
I'm sure we'll be talking about that very soon. So
(25:54):
you know what, I'm just gonna hand it right back
to you. All right, well, Chris, thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Once again. This is Fox Football Saturday, Steve Harby, Monzi
Blanios with you were live from the tai Iraq dot
com studios. So I was telling Monsey off air about
Ricky Henderson, who really he is like a category onto himself.
There's no one that you can really compare in baseball
history to Ricky Henderson. He was the greatest, most prolific
(26:21):
leadoff hitter in the game, most leadoff home runs, he
had over three thousand hits, holds the major league record
most run scored, and obviously his stolen base record is
never going to be broken. I mean, one thousand and
four six stolen bases. No one else even has a thousand,
and that's how many had. How about twenty five years
in the major leagues and his career on base percentage
(26:42):
was over four hundred for twenty five years.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Pretty incredible.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
The last team he played for was your beloved Dodgers
back in two thousand and three. But I got to
know him a little bit. He had a couple of
runs with the San Diego Padres, and Chris mentioned about
him talking in third person. Occasionally you'll hear somebody, usually
a celebrity, suddenly talking third person. The difference between Ricky
(27:10):
and anybody else that I ever knew in terms of
talking in third person is that he always talked in
third person. Let me give you an example. By the way,
he was one of the hardest workers I've ever seen.
This was a guy in two thousand and one, he
came back to the Podras. He was forty two years old.
I mean, he was still trying to continue his major
(27:30):
league baseball career. This guy would show up two hours
before every game in the batting.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
Cage, still Mamba mentality.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
It sounds like, I mean he was driven, he was cut.
I mean this guy was he was unbelievable, but again
always talking in third person. So well, flash forward two
thousand and nine. He was elected to the Baseball Hall
of Fame on the first ballot, and I was at
Disneyland with my kids. So we're at Disneyland and I
don't know if we were on Pirates of the Caribbean.
(27:58):
It was a slower ride, I remember that, and no,
I'll tell you what it was. It was the Indiana Jones, right,
And as we sat down the ride and sat in
our seat, I realized that sitting directly in front of
me is Ricky Henderson. What So, Ricky Henderson is sitting
in front of me on the ride with one of
his kids, and he had just gotten elected to the
(28:21):
Hall of Fame. In fact, it was this summer, and
of course in the summer of two thousand and nine
he had his induction speech. So I mean, this is
no more than maybe two weeks after his Hall of
Fame induction at Cooperstown. So I'm sitting there with I
think was Drake, my oldest was, and he probably was
about twelve or thirteen. He did not really no baseball,
but I'm like, that's like Ricky Henerson. So we ended
(28:45):
up finishing the ride, and as we're getting off the ride,
you know, I catch up with Ricky, you know, and
he didn't really remember. He sort of remembered me and
I really you know that time. But they had been
a number of years, right, But I congratulated him on
making the Hall of Fame. I go, it must have
been a lot lot of fun for you and your family, goes,
Ricky had a great day. And I almost fell over
(29:07):
because I'm like, yes, he is still consistently talking in
third person. He was a phenomenal baseball player. I mean ridiculous,
how good a baseball player Ricky Anderson was.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
I really would like to know if anyone asked him,
why do you refer to yourself in the third person?
You know, that's a difficult thing to do.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Well, how do you ask somebody like that?
Speaker 2 (29:29):
Yeah, I mean I just because that's not normal. No, not,
you have to re wire your brain in order to
think like that. So I just would be curious, like,
when did you start doing this?
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Well, apparently he was doing his whole career right, So,
but the whole time that he had two runs in
San Diego when I was in San Diego, and he
never changed. I mean, he was that way all the time.
That's I but when I actually asked him, it must
have been a lot of fun for you and your
family and Cooper Stanny goes. Ricky had a great day month.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
He has a lot of questions. He has a lot
of questions.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Yes, I know you did. That's what you do. You
talking third person. Nobody liked Ricky Henderson, but I mean
it was fun. He was great to be around, and
the guy was just an absolute stud baseball player. Reggie
Jackson said, I don't get it. Why is he not
talked about ten best players of all time? I'm with him.
I mean, I honestly, he's so unique. His numbers really
(30:25):
don't resemble that of any other player in the history
of baseball. He had three thousand hits and over two
thousand walks.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Ye know, that's ridiculous. That's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
I mean that's over five thousand times. No wonder he
had a career on base percentage over over four hundred.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
No, that sounds like you added a zero or something.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
His war career war was one hundred and eleven. No,
I mean, this guy was unbelievable. Very sad. Obviously would
have celebrated his sixty six birthday coming up here on
Christmas Day. I'm sure details of his passing will I'm
down the line, but this was if you if you
never saw Ricky Henderson play, if you never heard of
(31:05):
Ricky Henderson, do your research, because this guy was one
of the greatest baseball players of all time.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Norah, it's all. It's kind of serendipitous that the Oakland
A's are leaving, yes, and then this happened because you know,
Brie and I were able to go to a game
in September to you know, see the Oakland Coliseum for
the last time. So it's kind of a little bit
serendipitous that it's happening in the same.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Year it is. Uh. He held the he holds the
record again. No one's ever going to steal one hundred
and thirty bases in a season.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
No, No, He's been with the bigger bases.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
He had three years over one hundred steals.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
That's crazy. Three, that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
He was just unbelievable. He was just fun, fun, fun,
and he had power. I mean, he could do everything
on the baseball field. And I think if you haven't
heard my rant on Ricky Henderson. Now you're get any
sense I loved Ricky. He was just well, you know
how it is, mance around a ton of baseball players
over the years. Everyone's got their own little personality. But
(32:05):
every once in a while, somebody sort of stands out.
It's like he just he's different. Yeah, Yeah, that was Ricky,
as Ricky would say, Ricky, Ricky, Ricky do good.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
May Ricky be resting in peace.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
May Ricky be resting in peace? All right? Talking about
that great Ricky Henderson. Coming up on the other side, though,
We're going to get right back to what's happening in
the NFL. We were looking at the Steelers had just
tied this game of the Ravens, and now the Ravens
have re taken the leave. We also had more on
this college football playoff. What's next after what has been
(32:37):
so far a bit of a letdown in these matchups
that we've seen so far in the college football Playoff.
This is Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Steve Harvin MONTSI Belindy Here, Fox Football Saturday. We're coming
live from the tai Iraq dot Com studios. All right,
so we have this big game going on right now,
AFC North Rivals and this is a tough division. Ravens
right now leading the Steelers twenty four to seventeen. Lamar
Jackson another fabulous day, adding to his possible MVP resume.
(33:20):
Fourteen to twenty one hundred and fifty eight yards, three touchdowns,
no picks. Derek Henry's had a solid day sixteen carries
for eighty nine yards. But on the flip side, Montcie
Russell Wilson continues to play well. Seventeen to twenty four
two hundred one yards, two touchdowns. What just happened there?
Speaker 2 (33:39):
I just almost look like a fumble from the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
But no, no, oh no, yeah, well they're moving the ball,
but they're facing a fourth and eight right now. We're
coming toward the end of the third quarter. Difference in
this game really has been the ground game. Naji Harris
just eight carries for thirty nine yards, So the Ravens
with advantage there, but these are both solid teams and
Russell Wilson, look, I was one of those that really
(34:02):
felt like Russell Wilson's best days were behind him. However,
when you look at the numbers he put up in
Denver last year, they were more than respectable. It's just
that Sean Payton just didn't buy into him. It was
not the quarterback he wanted. They made the change, obviously
with the rookie bow Nixon's worked out obviously well for
the Broncos this year. But Russell Wilson, remember, he was
(34:24):
hurt at the beginning of the year. Justin Fields was
in a quarterback, he wasn't playing great, and then finally
they decided, all right, it's time to give Russell Wilson
a look. And it's been more than a look, like
he is playing really well, good enough again with a
team with a solid running game normally obviously one of
the better defense in the league. Where Again, when you
(34:45):
look at the AFC, Monsei, they're the Chiefs, They're gonna
have home field advantage. You're gonna have to go through
Kansas City if you want to get to the Super Bowl.
But you look at the Bills, you look at the Ravens,
you look at this Dealers. I mean, there's there's a
lot of teams that you feel like.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
Wow, that they could.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Make un easily knock out the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Yes, totally. I mean, I do believe that the Chiefs
have a secret playbook when it comes to the postseason.
So I think that, you know, they just elevate themselves.
But I agree there's several teams that it's like, you
could make a run, you could beat the Chiefs. I
think the Bills are more of the team that maybe
you don't worry about than the Chiefs because all season
(35:31):
we've been talking about unless again the Chiefs are just
messing with us and just going through the motions to
get to the playoffs and then they bring out the
real playbook. But it is it is a tight race
in the AFC these two teams. It's speaking about Russell Wilson.
That first touchdown he threw, he looked like vintage Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
He had passes throughout this game that game light on
the money, he juked a couple.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Of players, got it in the end zone and I
was like, oh, Katy Russell. Yeah, it really seems like
he was a very good fit with Pittsburgh. And again
give it up to Mike tom Lynn for benching Justin Fields.
Because so many people, including me, were like, really, you're
in a bench him now, when you're winning, when you're getting,
(36:17):
you're tying some wins together, you're putting in Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Boy, was I wrong?
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Several of all of us were wrong. Give it up
to Mike Tomlin for making that move.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Well, let's go back to the Chiefs or a moment here.
The talk all week that Carson Wentz was going to
play quarterback today. I mean right, I mean Patrick Mahomes
has a high ankle sprain. High ankle sprains are not
easy to deal with. And their first touchdown was a
running touchdown by Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Oh yeah, and not two three yards. Yeah, it was
like fifteen yards.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Ten yard touchdown run. It's like, what happened? This guy
wasn't he was supposed to play?
Speaker 2 (36:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Look, the frustrating thing for the Bills was that loss
to the Rams because their last three games they played
the Patriots twice and the Jets. All right, so they're
gonna win out right, and they're gonna be sitting there
at fourteen and three, and obviously they have the tie
break having beaten the Chiefs, but the Chiefs aren't going
to lose two games.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
No, I don't think so either.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
Yea, they would have to lose both of their last
two games, and that's just not going to happen. So
they're gonna have to go into Kansas City and they're
going to have to figure out a way to win.
But remember Kansas City hosting all these AFC Championship games.
The first one they hosted was against the Patriots in
twenty eighteen and they lost, and then three years later
(37:34):
they hosted the Bengals and lost. So it's not like
they're completely unbeatable at home because they've twice lost AFC
Championship games at home. And if you think about every
three years, twenty eighteen, twenty twenty one.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Oh twenty out, it is don't put that out.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
There, Chiefs going down. I still believe the Bills are
the team to be.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
I just like it seems that way. It does seem
that way.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
But it also goes back to how good were the
Rams to put up forty four on the Bills.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
That's another topic of conversation, the Rams and what they
can continue to do. It's unreal.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
It's Sean McVay.
Speaker 7 (38:16):
It is Sean vy right, it has to be.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
It has to be.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Exactly the idea of making a team better over the
course of a season. Right last year, the Rams came
in the year off a losing season, got off to
a losing start, looking like they were going nowhere. Member
Cooper Cup was out early. We never even heard of
this pooka Nakula guy Kyron Williams. Who was he? And
all of a sudden, they get on a roll, win
(38:43):
eight of the last nine to get into the postseason
and by the way, tested the Lions on the road.
Remember in that playoff game. I came down to the wire.
And here they are once again. They started one and four,
They've won seven of their last nine. They're in pretty
good position to again they control their own destiny to
win the NFC. We and you know, we're focused on
the Lions or focused on the Eagles. You're focused on
(39:05):
the Vikings right now. The year the Rams won the
Super Bowl, they were the four seed in the NFC.
You know what they're sitting at right now, the four seed.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Stop stop making all these connections.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
I am just telling you. I am just telling you,
is that.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Derek Henry is Derek Henry.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
He is off to the races right there. The big
man just Remlind Dumbrin, and I'm not down about the
ten yard line. So the Ravens trying to take control
right now in this AFC North, which they would, I
believe they will obviously be tied with the Steelers. I
don't know how the tie break goes, but I think
the Ravens would control their own destiny from the rest
(39:44):
of the way to try to win this division.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
If they win tonight, they don't win the division yet.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
Okay, so they don't actually have the tie break with
the Steelers, No, not yet.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
Now they will officially clinch the playoff spot. If the
Steelers come back and win, they win the division.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
So right now the Ravens are down to the eleven
yard line of the Steelers, just the start of the
fourth quarter, fourteen minutes to go there in this big
battle for supremacy in the AFC North. All right, Well,
coming up on the other side, we'll have much more
on a very busy NFL Sunday, the latest on the
college football playoff and what happened to the NBA. This
(40:21):
is Fox Football Saturday, all right, rolling along here on
a very busy Saturday in the sports world. This is
Fox Football Saturday. We're broadcasting live from the ti Raq
dot com studios, tyrad dot com. We're gonna get you there.
And on match selection, fast free shipping, free road as
a protection over ten thousand recommended installers, tire rack dot
(40:41):
com the way tire mind should be. All right. So,
looking at the scoreboard right now, and the Ravens now
have a two touchdown lead over the Steelers thirty one
to seventeen, thirteen minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
And then on the college football side things right now,
update on the game going out between Texas and Clemson.
(41:04):
Clemson making a little noisier, came back, but Texas just scored.
So Texas leeds thirty eight to twenty four, trying to
become the third team joining Notre Dame and Penn State
to take advantage of home field advantage in this opening
round of the college football playoffs.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
Yes, the Clemson Tigers, you know, scored first on their
opening drive and did the night night celebration that Steph
Curry likes to do after scoring their first touchdown one
seven zero. That's not and you don't do that. You
have so much game left. Yeah, and then Texas responded
with twenty one unionswered points and as you said, they
(41:45):
just scored again. So don't do the night night selly
near lyon.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Well, the problem with Clemson right now is Texas has
two hundred and sixty five yards rushing in this game.
So it's not been Quinn yours their passing game. It's
been Jayden blue Oo, Quintravian Wisner. I mean, these guys
are just running up and down the field in a
big way. So again Texas leading by a score of
thirty eight to twenty four. Coming up here a little
bit later on the hour, we're going to get you
(42:12):
step for the last matchup, which we are hoping will
be the most competitive matchup in the first round of
the college football Playoff, and that is Tennessee on the
road against Ohio State. By the way, they've only met
once ever. I mean, think about Ohio State Tennessee, two
of the most you know, legendary college football programs of
old time. They faced each other in the Citrus Bowl.
(42:34):
This was in nineteen ninety six. It was the year
that Eddie George won the Heisman Trophy for Ohio State.
Nineteen ninety five was January first ninety six and Peyton
Manning was a sophomore already an All American, and Tennessee
actually won that game by I scored twenty fourteen. It
was in a day luge. I think it was in
Orlando where the Citrus Bawls played, and it was some
(42:57):
people that were there said, I've never seen rain like
this in my life. It was that kind of day.
That was the only time that two legendary programs Tennessee
and Ohio State have ever played.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
So they'll have the matchup coming up a little bit
later on in Columbus. So we got all this excitement
going on with football right now, but we got to
get to some NBA news. Do we have to Well,
here's the thing, Monci. You're a big Clippers fan. I
know you're a basketball fan. You know I'm a big
basketball fan, have been my entire life. When we talk
(43:33):
about suddenly people opening their eyes to the problems that
have really been prevalent in this league for several years
and only now are the beginning to talk about it,
It's like, what took you so long? The problem is
if you keep kicking the can down the road thinking, oh,
things will be better or things aren't as bad as
you think they are. It's only going to get worse.
(43:55):
And I feel like that's the situation with the NBA now.
As you know, the NBA just announce they signed this
huge new eleven year contract with NBC Universal, Amazon. You know,
they got the Peacock, Prime Video, the whole thing. And
there is buzz already that those that signed on with
(44:17):
this deal are having buyer's remorse. Now, why would they
have buyer's remorse? Well, since twenty twelve, NBA ratings have
been down forty eight percent. Okay, but that's over. You know,
ratings across television have been bad over the last twelve years,
(44:37):
but year to year NBA ratings are down twenty eight percent.
And now everyone's talking about Lebron said he was said,
very simple, too many fing threes.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
And we've been talking about this for a while, right.
I mean, it was like, put things in perspective twenty
sixteen when the Warriors with Steph Curry won their first
championship and sort of revolutionized the NBA with you know,
the splash twins, you know, Klay Thompson and Steph taking
all of three they were averaging I believe something like
(45:13):
thirty one to three attempts a game, which was unheard
of in the NBA and by far the biggest number
in the NBA in twenty sixteen. Teams that averaged thirty
one to three point attempts per game in twenty twenty
four to twenty five season would rank next to last
in the league. The Celtics average over fifty three point
(45:35):
attempts per game. You just showed me a video during
the break of an NBA Cup game. I know, because
it was that ghastly floor coloring that they played for
these so called NBA Cup games. But it was just
literally teams going down. You're not even paying attention. Is
there any rebounds anybody on it? It used to be like,
(45:56):
you don't take a long shot unless you got guys
underneath the basket. Like if you were to take that
kind of a thirty footer with nobody underneath the basket,
you would get your ass yanked out of the game
so fast it would make your head spin. And y'all,
you were just showing me like two or three minutes
of a game where literally every shot was a three
pointer from like thirty feet and beyond. Clank City Clank
(46:19):
City and the NBA can't understand why viewership is so
dramatically down this year.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
I it's you know, I think there's a lot of
reasons why the NBA ratings viewership, why it's down. It's
threes are a big part of it. You brought up
the Warriors. Yeah, in twenty fourteen the Rockets. Remember the Rockets. Yeah,
that game that they literally missed like twenty seven threes
in a row.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
Yes, they did. That was like game seven of the
Conference finals that was over.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
That was about ten years ago. And at that time,
it was like they were shooting about thirty threes a game,
and it was they were like the only ones doing it.
And then yes, Steph Curry and the Warriors start doing
it now. Like you mentioned, if you're not taking fifty
threes to keep up with the Celtics, you're probably gonna lose.
And that's a big part of it. I also think
(47:13):
the fact that you don't know if you're gonna see
your favorite player is a big part of it. Like
you want to buy tickets, you want to plan to
watch a game. I at least know Kawhi Leonards is
not playing. I at least know that everybody else in
their favorite teams. You don't know it is John Moran
gonna play back to backs, Joel Embiid, No, he's not.
We already know that. That's a thing I think a
big part of it because in baseball, yeah, the season
(47:34):
is one hundred and sixty two games, and you know what,
Aaron Judge is probably gonna play one hundred and sixty
two games. So it's a little bit different. With the NBA.
The season feels long because you don't know if you're
gonna see your favorite players playing. Then we then we
got the whole Oh does the regular season even count?
Because why am I gonna watch the regular season if
they're not gonna turn it on until we get to
(47:54):
the playoffs. That's another part of it. It's there's just
so many factors. And then lastly, I think the fact
that we do not have like the next round of stars,
Like the game is still Lebron's game, it's still Kevin Durant,
it's still Steph Curry. What is the next round of stars?
Speaker 1 (48:10):
Well, that's and that's the point I wanted to make
right now. So you can make an argument that maybe
the three best players in the NBA are Jannis Jokic
and Doncic. Yes, none of these guys move the needle.
No zero. Then you have Jason Tatum. Jason Tatum obviously
is the best player on the best team. He is
(48:34):
Boren in the I mean like his personality is a
zero great player. He's a champion now after what the
Celtics did a year ago. He is boren.
Speaker 2 (48:49):
You say that about the Celtics in general, Well.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Again, when you look at let's let's talk about major
League baseball. Major League baseball was pretty much given up
for dead. You know, remember we had this period where
you know, it was home run walk or strikeout. Yep,
that was it. Home run walkers, strikeout. So what did
baseball finally do? They realized we need to make some changes.
They added the clock. I was like no, no, no,
(49:15):
so was I and it's like, yes, yes, yes, brilliant move.
You shortened the games by half an hour. Now they're
more watchable. I cat sitting through a three hour baseball game,
but two and a half, yeah, I might be able
to do that. They got rid of the shift.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
They got rid of the shift, so.
Speaker 1 (49:32):
You did things to create a little more of a
running game. You could only throw it at first base
a couple of times. So you did a few things
and then you got showhy So and just like Caitlin Clark,
I mean every sport you know, you go back to
the NBA. I am old enough to remember pre Larry Bird,
Magic Johnson, and the NBA was on life support. And
(49:55):
then all of a sudden you got Bird of Magic
and then Michael and then all of a sudden you've
got these stars that people resonate. You need a US
born star in the NBA that not only is a
great player but brings the prinzazz that Michael Jordan had,
that burden Magic had. That's what this league desperately needs.
(50:17):
And now that all of a sudden you got Lebron
speaking out, You've got a lot of people around the league.
Even though all this guaranteed money coming in. Although I
will say this when we talk about guaranteed money, yeah,
the money is guaranteed, but when you're investing that kind
of money like this new TV deal is doing, believe
it when I say they will make sure that everything's
(50:39):
on the up and out, because if you're not delivering
what was so called promise to us when we made
this deal, they will get called out.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
Yeah, I don't know if it's going to deliver immediately
though they may have to be a little patient.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
Who is that? Who is the star? When is Wemby
the guy? But again he's French, he's not in a.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
Yeah, and I don't think he is the guy. Like,
there's an X factor we're looking for here, right, something
you can't describe. There's an X factor and I haven't
seen an X factor yet. The X factor remains with
Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and Lebron James. They're still the ones.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
And I'm listening to JJ Reddick and he's missing the
point he goes. You know, it used to be like
no one said, why do we even play the regular
season if it's going to be Lebron versus the Warriors
in the NBA Finals, which it was four three years Okay, yeah,
but guess what all four of those years they had
big numbers for the NBA Finals. For the five lowest
rated NBA finals of all time have happened over the
(51:41):
last four years.
Speaker 2 (51:42):
Right, It's like, you want to talk smack on these dynasties,
but in reality, people.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
Hate to watch, but they're gonna watch when you watch,
when you have a new champion every year, it's like
hitting the reset button every year is and that is
not good for any sport. You need the evil person,
the evil team, whoever might be the team you need
to beat. That's a big part of it in any sport.
So at least now, I will say this for the NBA,
(52:10):
at least now they're talking about it. At least now
they're openly talking about we got a problem. Yeah, now
like Major League Baseball did do something about it.
Speaker 2 (52:22):
Yeah, you know, I think maybe NBA thought we are
becoming more athletic, which is true. These players are so
athletic that they just thought, oh, it's gonna it's it's
going to thrive this way. But in reality, it's like, yeah,
these players are way more athletic than back then. But
I'm bored. I am so bored.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
We'll go back to Redick what he said. It goes,
so the players are so much better than when I
broke into the NBA. Yeah, but the game you played
in the NBA was way.
Speaker 2 (52:49):
More watchable, way more watchable.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
Than what we're watching right now in the NBA. So
we'll see. If Adam Silver, I mean, he could say Hey, look,
I'm getting everybody paid. You're making you know, everyone got
another seven hundred and fifty thousand for winning the NBA
Cup that nobody watched. Nobody watched the NBA Cup.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
But well again, nobody was watching. All right, I know
what people are watching, and that is the NFL. We're
gonna get your sets on big games tomorrow in the NFL.
Which games actually have some kind of impact on what
we're going to see in the postseason. We'll break it down.
This is Fox Football Saturday. Steve Hartman and Moncey Belanos
(53:30):
Here Fox Football Saturday. We're coming live from the ti
iraq dot com studios. Now, don't forget after the show.
Our podcast is going up, So if you miss any
of today's show, check out the podcast. Just search Fox
Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts, and follow, rate
and review the podcast. Again, just search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcasts. See the show posted right
(53:51):
after we get off the air. By the way, on
X people are making suggestions now. Montsey about who could
save the.
Speaker 2 (53:59):
NBA tweeted at thank you to Paul Russ, saying that
ant Man Anthony Edwards is going to take over the
league in the next decade. And we all here, we
have Sager, here are social media guru. We all said, yeah,
you like Anthony Edwards, like, but I don't know if
I don't know, and then Sager to give credit that
(54:19):
Anthony Edwards at least still has that like mentality of
I hate you, yeah, and that is lacking across the league.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
Well, we've talked about this many times. Even Magic Johnson
brought this up that you know, when he played for
the Lakers, they hated the Celtics. I know, I was
a Laker fan of Showtime and you hated the Celtics,
and you felt like the players felt the same way
we would see it on the court. There's that animosity.
Now everyone's making zillions of dollars, no one hates anybody.
And as a fan, you want to feel like your
(54:49):
team has the same like drive to beat the other
team that you want. And if you don't feel that,
that really really hurts.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
Thinking about it. It's like growing up, I hate the Lakers,
hated them, I don't hate a team. Well, Ron, he's
just there.
Speaker 1 (55:05):
Well, here's a guy that spreads a lot of love.
He does it here on Fox Sports Radio with his
own show, and then whether he gets a five minute
notice or five day notice, he's kind enough to come
on every single Saturday on this show. We're not quite
sure why, other than the fact that we're all really,
really good for him. A lot of love, Aaron Torres, Yes,
(55:26):
in this room, a lot of love right now.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
Well, happy holidays to you guys, and you know, it's
been fun. I don't even remember what convinced you guys
to call me for the first time on twenty minutes notice,
but it happened, and now I just you know, I
booked out twenty twenty five minutes to hang with you
guys every Saturday. It's been fun hanging with you guys.
And I can't wait to hear what we're going to
(55:50):
talk about today, can't all?
Speaker 1 (55:52):
Right? So well we have. We could go a lot
of different directions, but let's stay with what we've been
talking about, which is the college football Playoff and so far, blowout, blowout, blowout,
Texas is going to take care at Clemson here. I
said this earlier with Montcierin. I sort of predicted this
the first week with teams actually playing on their home field,
(56:14):
what a tremendous advantage that would be. The real question
is the quarterfinals, which by the way, isn't for another
ten days. So when you look at Oregon and Georgia,
Boise State in Arizona State, they will not have played
in almost a month. When they're playing on a neutral
field against a team that at least has played a
(56:34):
game in the interim, that's I think when the fireworks
really begin.
Speaker 3 (56:40):
Well yeah, I mean, you know, I think there's so
many conversations that are going on right now, and you know,
I think there's just so many variables. Right what you
said to the home field advantage, you know, should we
have given auto buys to the four highest ranked teams
of the four highest ranked conference champions? You know, I
think how we determine in the at large teams has
(57:01):
become a topic of conversation with you know, Indiana and
SMU getting blown out. I will say, you know, I
think to some degree it has been a little bit
of a disappointing, you know, twenty four hours or so
of college football. But I think maybe the part that
I don't think enough people are acknowledging is exactly what
you said, Steve, is that we do have home field advantages,
(57:23):
and when you have home field advantage, we see every Saturday,
good teams go on the road and lose to equal
or better teams. And so essentially, you know, everybody that's
arguing about this team would have done this and that
team would have done that, it's like, well, all three
higher seated teams at home field advantage, all three higher
seated teams were favored, and all three higher seated teams
are obviously going to win, and you know, basically win comfortably.
(57:46):
The Texas game looks a little closer, I think, frankly,
than it's actually been, so I think to your point
that's probably something that the discourse hasn't been enough about,
is the impact of home field advantage. The one thing
I will say really quickly, we've heard for two weeks
that you know, Tennessee fans plan on taking over the
Horseshoe in Columbus, and early reports are that that place
(58:07):
is going to have a lot of orange. So that
might be the closest thing we see to a neutral field.
But to your point, probably not enough people talking about
the impact of actually having home field advantage of the
first round of this playoff.
Speaker 2 (58:17):
All right, I know all the college football playoffs are
going on, but I cannot get over Aarin Diego Pavia
and the old market double a ruling. I cannot accept this.
What do you mean You're not going to count your
junior college years. You're gonna have potentially eighteen nineteen year
(58:38):
olds playing twenty six twenty seven year olds.
Speaker 3 (58:42):
So MANSI, this is low key. I'm so glad you
brought it.
Speaker 2 (58:45):
I can't get over it.
Speaker 3 (58:47):
It is like, you know, we all get and you know,
I've been known to get hyperbolic about stuff here and there.
The biggest thing this is legitimately huge. And I heard
you know he goes by coach JB. He was the
famous junior college coach who was on last chance to
you for a couple of years, is now in the media.
You know, he brought up a great point of this
could literally lead to just this could just lead to
(59:11):
major colleges using juco's as farm teams. And so what
the ruling basically said now it only applies to Diego Pavia,
But I think the assumption is that if any you know,
junior college transfer fights it, they're going to get the
same ruling in their favor. And What it essentially says
is that junior college doesn't count against your eligibility clock.
So basically everybody knows you get five years to play
(59:33):
four and so what coach JD was saying was what
two things could happen is one, a smart college could
just use a junior college as basically a feeder system
where let's just use easy schools. You know, Ohio State
or USC could pick a junior college, send forty high
school kids fifty sixty whatever it is high school kids
a year there, and then basically use the junior college
(59:56):
to develop them for two years. And then you're essentially
getting twenty twenty one year old freshmen on the back
end that have their full four years of eligibility. What
could also happen, which I find kind of interesting, is
you know, you go to college for say a year
your red shirt maybe your sophomore year, which is your
red shirt freshman year, you don't play. You could then
go to junior college for two years. It wouldn't count
(01:00:20):
against your eligibility, and you could come back out on
the other side as again a twenty two to twenty
three year old sophomore and still have three years of eligibility.
So that is what that ruling said. You know, it's
another just it's a disappointing moment for the NCA because
there's nothing they can do. But I'll just be quick,
but it is huge. You know. You saw Steve Sarkisian,
(01:00:42):
who played in junior college, come out and say this
isn't good for college football, and I just think it's
another thing. The one thing I've learned covering college sports
the last fifteen years rule that coaches can use to
their benefit to get good players into their program. They're
going to use that rule and this is just the
newest one. This story is so much bigger that I
(01:01:03):
think most people realize.
Speaker 1 (01:01:04):
I can't wait for next year when a twenty six
year old quarterback in his eighth year of college name
Cam Rising is the quarterback of the Hurricanes. I am
may I'm telling you Cam Rising is going to be
the Miami quarterback. He'll be twenty six years old, it'll
be his eighth year of college, and he'll be the
quarterback of the Hurricanes.
Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
This, I mean, what's this? I mean, what's to stop
him from transferring to junior college for two years, starting
on a new degree, and then coming back three years
from now. He's not kidding. Yes, what the end of
what that ruling said was that junior college does not
count against your clock.
Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
All right, Can we back up for just a second here,
here's where I missed it along the way. Obviously it's
very prevalent now, the idea of the transfer portal where
you don't have to sit out of here. I remember
when Justin Fields left Georgia to go to Ohio State
and went directly without sitting out a year. But there
was some kind of legal matters that he was involved
with at Georgia which cleared the path where he didn't
(01:02:03):
have to set out a season. Who signed off on
this deal where you could literally play at a different
school every single year and not have to sit out
a year in a transfer situation.
Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
Well, Steve, I mentioned this to you guys a few
weeks ago. The NCAA, they get blamed for everything. They
tried to put in a one time transfer rule, which
was you go to a school it doesn't work out,
you can transfer one time without having to sit out,
and this is what the coaches wanted, and then the
second that it didn't work in their favor, they went
(01:02:38):
to court and the example that I used a few
weeks ago, you can look it up. But North Carolina
when Mac Brown, when their first seventy plus year old
guy was their head coach. That was mac Brown, not
the new seventy plus year old head coach Bill Belichick.
When mac Brown was the head coach, he was the
number one advocate of we can't change the transfer rule.
It's bad for college football. Coaches are going to be
(01:03:00):
recruiting out of the handshake line, talking to my players saying,
come to my school. Then what ends up happening? Last
year he had a quarterback named Drake May and he
had a transfer wide receiver named Tess Johnson. Tedes Johnson
was ruled ineligible because it was his second transfer. What
does mac Brown do? He goes mack Brown into it,
(01:03:20):
but the kid hires a lawyer. The lawyer fights the ruling,
the ruling is deemed unjust, and the NCAAA is forced
to basically make this kid eligible as a two time transfer.
And then from there they just threw up their hands
and said, we're not going to get sued every time
we want us to have a player sit out. And
I've actually talked to people in the NCAA offices about this,
and they point to mac Brown as one of the
(01:03:42):
culprits of why the rule is the way that it
is right now. Essentially that they put in the one
time transfer mac Brown, who was in favor of it,
all of a sudden, his best wide receiver is ineligible
because it's his second transfer, and the kid gets a lawyer,
and the kid wins the court case, and so everybody
wants to blame the NCAAA, and Charlie or the NCAA
president said it this week. He just puts in the
(01:04:03):
rules that the coaches want. The problem is, every time
he tries to put in a rule, somebody fights him,
he gets shoot in court, and he ends up losing
in court and he has.
Speaker 6 (01:04:12):
To change the rules.
Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
So not everything is the NCAA's fault. And I think
that's something that goes a little bit under reported in
a lot of this stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
Yeah, I agree with you on that. Okay, lastly, here
before I know you do, Moncy, thank you for lastly
before we let you go Tennessee, Ohio State. Are we
going to see a actual close game or are we just.
Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Going to a close game. No, we'll see a close
game because Tennessee's defense is so good. I will tell
you first of all, I think the upset is absolutely
in play, and I'm not alone. It's not like an
amazing take that I have, like I think a lot
of people feel that way. I will tell you know,
Ohio State has said all the right things about Ryan
Day is not on the hot seat. This that the
other thing. If you lose this game and go ten
(01:04:56):
and three with what we believe to be a twenty
million dollars the high I stayed roster in college football. Remember,
by the way, both of his coordinators make over two
million dollars. Ship Kelly came from UCLA to the Ohio
State offensive coordinator. He didn't do it for charity. He's
getting paid very handsomely. And oh, by the way, you
lost to Michigan. You didn't win a Big Ten championship.
So we're talking about now four years not winning a
(01:05:18):
Big Ten championship, four years not beating Michigan and getting
bounced in the first round of the playoff. They're saying
all the right things in Columbus. If he can't get
through this game, I don't think it's a zero percent
possibility that he gets fired. And then I will tell
you this an Ohio State coaching search going into Christmas.
I mean you talk about a gift from the content gods, Like, yeah, listen,
(01:05:41):
you know you never root for a guy to get fired.
But I'll tell you you know you want something to
talk about over the Christmas holiday in Ohio State coaching search.
I think Ohio State might be the best job in
college football in the nil portal era. That is the
content gift that all of us that are working on Christmas,
even Christmas Day, are hoping for. So I think the
upset is very much in play. I certainly think we'll
(01:06:02):
have a close game and if Brian if Ohio State
loses this game, I don't think it's zero percent chance
that Ryan Day is not the Ohigh of State head
coach mexicesion.
Speaker 1 (01:06:10):
I think it's one hundred percent he won't be if
they lose this game to Tennessee. By the way, I
did you agree? I voted for genty and I will
back up that vote. I picked the right guy. I
voted for the right guy. Pro Football Focus said he
would have had the highest rating of any Heisman winner
ever since the Pro Football Focus started in twenty thirteen
higher than Joe burrows season highest rating ever by Pro
(01:06:33):
Football Focus. By the way, uh, Travis Hunter is the
third worst in the Pro Football Focus here as far
as Heisman Trophy winners are concerned.
Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
All right, we got to run, Asky. You were talking
about the NBA being on its deathbed, at the NBA,
how it's going just looking at a bunch of analytics
and not actually, uh, you know, doing anything of it.
Analytics kill baseball. Analytics killed the NBA. You're trying to
have to kill college football too, Steve Hartman does I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:06:58):
Want that to happen, because you know how much I
love my college football.
Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
Not watch the game? Hey Manti, did he push up
his glasses a little four eyes over there looking at
all his spreadsheet?
Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
You know I did that absolutely so I can see. Well, Aaron,
great stuff is always man. We'll do it again next Saturday,
if it's possible.
Speaker 3 (01:07:16):
The two of you have a great Christmas. In all seriousness,
it's been so fun coming on with you guys, and
I will be available next Saturday if you want me.
Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
Okay, Aaron, of course, Christmas?
Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
All right, Okay, we'll say that for another day. Hold on, Aaron,
thank you very much. All right, Aaron Torris, join us
right there. Let's find out what is trending right now.
Chris is back with some big football updates. Yeah, it
is getting spicy.
Speaker 5 (01:07:40):
At the end of this Texas Clemson game, looks like
Texas will be holding on thirty eight twenty four. About
a minute ago they had just fumbled, however, a fourth
and one, trying to ice the game and handle the
ball back to Clemson.
Speaker 1 (01:07:55):
Around hat midway.
Speaker 5 (01:07:56):
But it looks like Texas now has the ball back,
so that'll be that Texas is going to be moving
on to play Arizona State in the Peach Bowl. We've
already got tickets punched for the Fiesta Bol Penn State
and Boise State.
Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
The Sugar Bowl will be Notre Dame and Georgia.
Speaker 5 (01:08:10):
Speaking of which, Monsei, you were mentioning about older players
in college football, Notre Dame does feature a thirty year
old kicker that he is not even the oldest kicker
at his position, Eric Goins, who four years the Citadel,
served seven years of the Army and is getting a
match an NBA at Notre Dame, and.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
So he just never played until later in his life.
Speaker 5 (01:08:33):
I guess I I'm not quite sugar myself.
Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
But he's not playing seven years. He's just started later
in life, No, and so he's still Happenly.
Speaker 1 (01:08:42):
Virginia has a thirty four year old kicker. Riswanky won
the Heisman Trophy at age twenty eight in two thousand,
sat out six years to play minor league baseball started
at its core at Florida State won the Heisman at
age twenty eight.
Speaker 5 (01:08:54):
I'm just saying this could theoretically be someone's entire football
career one of these days. In college football, meanwhile, we
do have a final score, final score Baltimore Ravens thirty
four Pittsburgh Steelers seventeen. Final scores coming with a Mark
Andrews touchdown and a Marlin Humphrey picked six on Russell Wilson,
(01:09:17):
who otherwise had a pretty good game twenty two to
thirty three for two hundred and seventeen yards. Lamar Jackson
this game two hundred and seven yards fifteen of twenty
three coming up at the top of the hour. I
mentioned college football the final slot now wait awaiting the
Rose Bowl to play Oregon Ohio State hosting Tennessee. Ohio
(01:09:37):
State is a seven and a half point favorite at home.
News from baseball, we've been talking about this a little bit.
Two time World Series champion, first ballot Hall of Fame
at Ricky Henderson has passed today at the age of
sixty five. He is MLB's all time leader in stolen
bases at fourteen hundred and six. And in some free
agency news from baseball, Carlos Santana has apparently agreed to
(01:10:00):
a one year, twenty million dollar deal with the Cleveland Guardians.
Monsey Steve back to.
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
You, all right, Chris, great job as always, and we
appreciate it. Once again. This is Fox Football Saturday. We're
live from the tay Iraq dot Com studios. All right,
it is that time lot.
Speaker 4 (01:10:20):
Two minds are better than one, right too.
Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
Let's find out time to get down to the nitty's
gain day geniuses. All right, So once again is time
for our picks and what has become a very controversial
segment courtesy of our great producer Patrick, who has been
at odds with Moncey on the exact totals that we have.
(01:10:44):
We use a Stableford system. We don't use winslow losses.
We're on a points system in this endeavor that we've
been doing now for what fifteen weeks, and we're trying
to figure this out still. Do we have this down now?
Speaker 7 (01:10:57):
Patrick, we have this down the there's no wins losses.
It is just pure points here. The newest and truest
record is twenty nine and twenty four. That's up to
date from last week. Moncy, you have twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
Nine, right, so can you just so we're on the
same page. Last week, how did it go?
Speaker 7 (01:11:19):
You had twenty six, Steve had twenty four and with
a couple of wins and losses on both you know,
wins and not getting some wins, but then also over
unders kind of you know, giving a little bit of.
Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
Some shitly long story short, she got three points last week.
Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
I had zero, correct because of your incorrect on the
over Eagles.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
Steelers underpicks are subject to negative points if you get
it wrong. They go.
Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
So you got zero zero and I got three.
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
All right, So you're now with a five point lead.
We're all good.
Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
We're good.
Speaker 1 (01:11:51):
You're good good, We're good moving forward. I'm happy about that,
all right. What's the first game this week?
Speaker 7 (01:11:57):
Well, speaking of good guys, the first game we got
is the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Washington Commanders. Commanders
are home. The over under for this game is forty
five and a half, and Monsie, you're a fearless leader
in the clubhouse, the owners go to you.
Speaker 2 (01:12:14):
I brought this game up to Adam Kaplan for a reason,
you know what I mean? Like, I the Eagles have
won how many in a row? Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
In a row? Two and two? Now they're twelve and two.
Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
I for some reason, honestly, like, I feel like the
Commanders can pull this opposet, this upset off. But talking
to Adam, he didn't make me feel very comfortable with
that thought. Even though Jayden Daniels is playing better now,
(01:12:51):
Eagles defense is really the factor here. I guess I'm
taking the Eagles to win eleven in a row. The
Eagles to win eleven in a row.
Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
Well, I gotta take some chances here. By the way,
do you want to do over under?
Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
I want the over?
Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
Oh whoa? I want to be OVERO whoa, whoa, whoa?
What's happening there?
Speaker 2 (01:13:17):
I want the over over?
Speaker 6 (01:13:19):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
Bird interesting very because when you look at the Eagles,
their offense has not been all that prolific and if
you used forty five and a half as an over under,
they've been under the last three weeks and wins. I'm
going to take the under and I'm going to take
the Commanders in this game. So just like that, a
huge possible in this NFC East. Now, do you have
(01:13:42):
any bold predictions?
Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
No, I don't on this one. I don't have any bolts.
I got my boat last week from Saquon.
Speaker 7 (01:13:51):
You did get the Saquon boy?
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
Yeah, he was under.
Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
I was so close on my I had that guy.
You see what happened. Josh Allen had the two touchdowns
and then he ended up throwing two touchdown passes and
I specifically said he would have to have it wouldn't
be a tie. That was that close. I'm gonna make
a bold prediction right now. Yes, sir, Jalen Hurts will
have more rushing touchdowns than Saquon Barkley.
Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
Wow, I mean is that with the Pushtush?
Speaker 1 (01:14:21):
I'm asking if you don't if you don't want to
do it, that's a good thing.
Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
With the Bush I feel like that's just what they do.
Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
Well, then I'll throw that one out.
Speaker 7 (01:14:31):
Yeah, I throw it all right, kind of a gimme.
Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
On the other side, we got two more games to
get to in our game day genius picks. This is
Fox Football Saturday, Steve Harbin and Monsi Belanias here in
Fox Football Saturday. We're coming alive from the tai Iraq
dot Com studios. Want to think Chris for his incredible
updates throughout the show today again filling in where he
(01:14:55):
has to fill in. Speaking of filling in, one of
the biggest legends in this entire operation, Curis is back
on the board. That's right, Karris. It's always great to
see you. Thanks for well. This is why he is
the most invaluable person here at Fox Sports Radio. And then,
of course our brilliant producer Patrick, who now is is
feeling good because Moncey is satisfied that the points seemingly
(01:15:19):
in her favor right now, but we'll see how it
plays s. We're all on the same page right now,
all right, Patrick, All right, Patrick, So let's let's get
to our second game, all right.
Speaker 7 (01:15:32):
Well, speaking of teams that are trying to get on
the same page, here we have the San Francisco forty
nine ers taking on the Miami Dolphins. Miami is in
fact home and the over under is forty four and
a half.
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
Let me tell you, nobody wants to watch this game.
Speaker 7 (01:15:48):
I know nobody, but in a good.
Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
Way, Like it's gonna be so bad, but who's gonna win.
Speaker 7 (01:15:54):
That's why I picked the tough ones.
Speaker 1 (01:15:56):
Moncey. By the way, the first Super Bowl game that
I actually attended in person, forty nine Ers Dolphins, January
nineteen eighty five, Stanford Stadium, Da Marina versus Joe Montana.
Forty nine Ers one big, but the forty nine Ers
actually a slight favorite on.
Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
The very slight Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
Yeah, am I going first on this one?
Speaker 7 (01:16:14):
We get to go first on this and Steve.
Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
Well, I'm trying to think inside the head of MANSI
right now, you know what I took. I've already taken Well,
I took. I took the Commanders. I'm gonna go Niners
in this yere. I'm going to go the Niners. I
don't like that over under, but I think the Niners
favored in this game. Brock Party, who has been a
picture of mediocrity, is going to be good enough. I
(01:16:41):
think the as much as the forty nine Ers are struggling,
I think the Dolphins are struggling worse. So I'm gonna
go forty nine ers in this matchup against the Dolphins.
Speaker 6 (01:16:51):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
Who is running the ball for the forty nine ers,
are you? I don't I they have nobody. But at
the same time, Jalen Wattle out for Miami Tyreek, I
don't even know if he's playing because of his wrist.
Like both of these teams, I don't know who's running
and who's getting the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:17:07):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
But is it close enough to pick the Dolphins just
to spice things up? Is where I'm deciding here?
Speaker 1 (01:17:15):
Oh I think you love the Dolphins?
Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
Do?
Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
I love the Dolphins at home? And they're both technically
still fighting right for a playoff spot barely, but it's like, yeah,
barely barely.
Speaker 7 (01:17:27):
There could be a John new Smith Legacy game there
that tight end?
Speaker 4 (01:17:32):
Is there?
Speaker 6 (01:17:33):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
And Brock goodness, you know what, just because I really
I think it's gonna be a bad game no matter what. Yeah,
let's take the Dolphins. Why not? Why not?
Speaker 7 (01:17:42):
Let's take the Dolphins and he bolds.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
The it's gonna be bad.
Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
I can I can make that as well. No bolts
on this one, bolds all right, one more game, all right,
it lasts, but certainly in my eyes not least.
Speaker 7 (01:17:59):
We have my Minnesota Vikings taking on my Seattle Seahawks
over under is forty two and a half. And honestly,
I just want to hear which one of you was
gonna pick which one because I'm gonna keep mine a secret.
Wants you get to go first? Viking Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
You know, the Seahawks are an interesting team, and sometimes
I believe them, and then other times I'm like, why
did I believe you? I don't know, but I think
the Vikings are the better team.
Speaker 7 (01:18:41):
They are definitely the better team.
Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
You know, But they're playing in Seattle, which is it's yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:18:46):
Yeah, Seahawks are three and five.
Speaker 7 (01:18:47):
At at home.
Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
I know, I know, I know it hasn't been the
home field advantage as it has in the past. I'm
gonna I'm gonna take the Vikings here. I'll take the
Vikings over the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (01:18:58):
Okay, So last week basically Patrick talked me into taking
the uh Seahawks at home against the Packers and they
got blown out. He did, Yeah, he gave me the look.
He gave me the look.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
Patrick. We gotta figure out what that look is.
Speaker 7 (01:19:19):
Well, here's the thing, my teams, I'm gonna look at
you like which one.
Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
I mean? We're talking about a Seahawks team that lost
to the Giants at home. Yeah, yeah, okay, I'm sorry.
I cannot for the life of me, I'm taking Seattle
and by the way, save my hero, by the way, Patrick.
If I end up losing the MANCI this year because
I keep picking Seattle to win, what's funny.
Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
You're never gonna forget Arizona twice swiped it.
Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
And I got it. They are a loser, but they
still obviously are tied record wise with the Rams with
a chance to win the NFC WES. So yeah, Gino,
Smith's gonna come up. The Vikings can't win every game
the rest of the there. They're a seven game winning Street.
They need to lose ongoing Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
You know Smith three interceptions, Yeah, that's that's that's Street.
Speaker 7 (01:20:12):
If he doesn't throw three picks every game.
Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
If he says no, it's fine, it's fine.
Speaker 1 (01:20:17):
What no, As a Seahawks can, It's gonna
