It's finally here. Vjakt Man. We've been doing this.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Show now for for what is this three year? Her
three year? This will be the third.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Time we see a college football champion crowned right for us,
and I could have sworn the last two years.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
VJ.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
All I heard was I can't believe that this team
got in.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
I can't believe that that team got in.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
How dare you allow to lost him or through our
one lost them into this playoff? As on TCU got
smoked by Georgia.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
You don't remember that as you see these lopsided first
round games, Michigan scoring fifty something points exactly exactly Harbot
and called time out.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
So I just know now now that we have the
twelve team playoff.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
I just know now that everybody is completely and totally
satisfied with the people with the twelve representatives to have
an opportunity to play for the college football championship. I
just know for a fact.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
VJ.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Maybe I haven't been on social media. I've seen nothing
but flowers and glorm reviews for the selection committee.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
That has to be the case because this is what
they've clamored for the whole time with twelve teams.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah, this is what they claimed for it.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
And as always, before I even get into that, Rand
touch on that, man, I always want to welcome everybody
in so Martin and VJ on the Fox Sports Radio
listening fans out there, Man, love you guys, love the support.
I'm so glad to be here. Today was just bananas
and sports too. As we're watching Kid's Becker's and Watkins
about the go ahead to head and women's.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
College basketball talk about a sports day.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
But yes, I'm gonna be honest with you, I've always
been one of those guys that's, come on, man, let's
not go with the all the fifth or the sixth
team or the seventheen like, listen, the four used to
get in. The BCS used to pick the two, the
Poles used to pick the two, and then we got
the forward team playoff, and then now we have the twelve.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
But Martin, I'll be ready with you. Man.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Watching last night and then watching this morning, after the
predictions I made how both these games would go today
and last night, I kind of want to start some stuff.
I kind of want to be that guy. Mart I'm
gonna be Honestwitch, I kind of want to be that guy.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
One of your guys. I don't care you can make
that face. I don't care. One of your guys should
have been there. He should have been there. Let's do
this from now on. Bro, Listen, I'm gonna start telling Martin,
I'm feeling good, your guy. I would have much rather
watched him than watch what I watched Indiana.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
And wrote and Rok do last night in South Bench,
I would have much rather him, watched him move around, him,
do his thing, give them a shot. I don't know
if they'd have won in South last night, but it
wentn't have been. It wouldn't have been what we saw
last night. You think I mean, But go ahead, and okay,
and let's flip to this morning, Jenkins, Hello brother, what
are you doing?
Speaker 3 (03:10):
J Jenny? Excuse me? You gave the game completely away, single.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
Handedly gave that game away and took that as a
you gotta eat that.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Young man.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Do you think Shador Sanders would have played like that today?
I don't know if they'd have won in Happy Valley.
But when you want to see the Heisman Trophy winner,
when you want to see coach Prime, when you want
to see Shador, when you want to see listen, I
get let's get the conference championship guys and stuff in.
But I'm to the point now where we have to
stop liking like these pretty seasons. Really, you much would
(03:41):
have seen Bama or Colorado on this and I normally
don't do this, Ladies jump, I normally don't. But watching
these games with twelve teams, give me the big names,
give me the big brands, give me the most interesting people,
especially when you're talking about eleven and twelve.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Eleven and twelve. Cut the crap.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Don't tell me s and U's gonna draw more than Colorado.
Don't tell me Indiana cute sae he in Indiana. You
know what's been proven. You can't really run with the
big boys. You've had, you got a good coach, you
got a good thing going. It was a cute little season.
But who you couldn't beat Ohio State?
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Who you couldn't be?
Speaker 4 (04:09):
You know, you couldn't go and win at Nordon like
you got trounce last night. They got run over last night.
Nineteen yards on one of the run. That's fine, but
still one hundred and seventy some yards on the ground.
That's getting moved among your will homeboy for four quarters
in the code, I am now next year, listen, once
we get to like ten, eleven, twelve, committee, get the stars,
get the brands, big names, get the big faces.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Seriously, how do we know? How do we know you're right?
I am a I like both. Jalen Milroe.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
I don't know how it'll be as an NFL quarterback,
but I thought he was a much better college quarterback
than anybody was giving him credit for.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Before his first start, they said you can't play mill
Road all last year.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I don't to be fair that that is more relegated
to college. I don't know how he'll translate to the league.
It was fine, but that's a conversation. Connect for the summer.
That's for the draft. Shador Sanders I think will be
a very good NFL quarterback. I think that he to me,
he kind of looks like a maybe a faster Joe Burrow.
I don't see, like, let's see a similar arm like
not the craziest arm strength, but accurate.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
You know what I'm saying. It's like, I don't he
ain't gonna be no Josh Allen, you know, ripping the ball.
I like slower Lamar Jackson with better accuracy. I don't
think slower Lamar Jackson's fast. He's not as fast as
you know.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
But but if it's slower, the like what makes Lamar
Jackson Lamar Jackson is fast?
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Right? So like if you.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Say that, like if you said slower Lamar Lamar Jackson, curacy, you.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Know what I'm saying, that's a different person. But okay,
but how do we know in this because this is
what we do this at all walks of life. And
you know what, I'm gonna challenge you right now do
the same because my girlfriend doesn't drives me crazy. Everybody
does this. Whenever we look, we take one thing out
of the equation to say, well, we know that would
have made everything the best possible scenario. How do we
(05:59):
know that if we took out SMU, and we took
out who Indiana?
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Who else? You want to take it? You want to
take out Clemson for good measure?
Speaker 4 (06:06):
No, because on their conference, all right, because they won
their conference, they get in.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
That's what I'm fine with that, Okay? Cool?
Speaker 2 (06:11):
So I see where the line is. I could walk
that line. Yep, Okay, So you take those two out.
How do we know that we're not going to see
the game out of Alabama that we saw versus Oklahoma,
who was worse than any of these twelve teams?
Speaker 5 (06:21):
True?
Speaker 4 (06:22):
How do we know that we're not going to see
the stinker that Colorado laid against Nebraska, who's worse than
all these twelve teams in this moment?
Speaker 2 (06:30):
So I understand that's sure. It would have been a
much better commercial leading up to it if you had
the Door Sanders first, Hey, you know you had you know,
if you had Jaylen Milroe and yeah, a little bit
of a Crimson Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
I understand that. I'm just saying. But here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
The playoffs are a direct representation of what happened in
the regular season. Like it if we start picking and
choosing who's going to be in the playoffs a twelve
team playoff, mind you, Okay, when it's four, I can
turn a blind eye. I could turn a blind eye
to the Florida States of the world who should have
(07:13):
been there. But you know, circumstances turn a blind out
of Georgia being not from one to five. I could
turn a blind die only Georgia, not from one to five,
because I know that that's an imperfect system.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I lost the one.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
But in the twelve team playoff, if we are gonna
start picking and choosing, it's one thing we picked to
choose between four.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
You're picking and choosing between twelve.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
That we may as well not have a regular season
if you're gonna tell me that simply because I lose
three games in this conference. The Eastern Conference in the
NBA has been weaker than the Western Conference since the
history of freaking basketball.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
It feels like, you know what, eight teams from the
East get in, eight teams from the West get in.
The AFC has got better quarterbacks, the NFC's got better rosters.
Seven teams apiece get in, And it's about building your
team against the teams that you have to beat. Like
for if you are the Dallas Cowboys and you know
you got to play the Philadelphia Eagles in the Washington Commanders,
(08:08):
you know what, your defense better have a lockdown corner
because you gotta guard AJ Brown and Terry McLaurin and
somebody who can spile on the fast quarterbacks, right because
those are the teams that you have to beat to
qualify for the postseason. If we're gonna have a playoff.
This is what it looks like. This is what it
looks like. Every single year, in every single sport. We
(08:31):
have blowouts in the first round of playoffs. We have
sweeps in.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
The first round of the NBA that aren't even competitive.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
There's never what There's.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Only been one seven seed to win an NFL playoff game,
yep one one.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Only one eighth seed in the NBA to get to
the finals, and that was the strike shortened Nicks. So guys, everybody,
take a step brack, nope, take a deep breath, nope, and.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Relax because this is what it looks like. And I
got news for you. Tennis is about to upset Ohio State.
So you're gonna get your upset anyway, because that's what
the first round of the playoffs is about okay, one upset,
maybe two. But the reality is the big boys advance
every single year.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
First round of the NCAA tournament. How it's not two
fifteen seeds, it's one. It's not a.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
It's one between the fourteen sixteen or it's one.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Okay, it's not three, it's one.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
The rest of those games are stone cold ass chickens
like we've seen across college football thus far.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Now here's my rebuttal against that.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Everything you said is one hundred percent correct, but college football,
which makes this so great? And I thought about it today.
I started watching college football when I was six. I've
seen forty one college football seasons from start to finish.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
It's different than everywhere else.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Even though they have a playoff, I don't mind when
we get the team eleven and twelve, you think think
it about Hey, you know, it's kind of it kind
of is a toss up between BAMA and SMUO. Like
I want the brand, give me the break. I'm on
that train right now. Just college football. But we have
(10:13):
to stop this idea of they've had a cute season,
eleven wins last year in the AAC, then they come
over to the ACC and.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
Eleven more wins. But you saw when they went up
against Clinton.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Yes, they make a seventeen points push in the second
half and they lose on a fifty.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Six yard at the buzzer.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
It looked good, But when you put that whole tape on,
they really got their ass kick for three quarters. Okay,
And it had a spark, they had a spurt football games,
I know. But you put them on the field again
with another big boy. You put them on the field
with another big boy, and you get two weeks. You
get two weeks to prepare for this game, and you
get mocked like that again.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Now the Alabama.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Thing, the ugly losses, I'm with you, but I'm on
the train of okay, moving forward that Friday night game. Listen,
it's the only thing popping last night, Indiana nor to
Dame Listen, man, three times they've played in there history,
like they don't even play each other.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
And I get that part.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
I kind of like that part of them the playoffs,
But moving forward, I want to make an argument that
they should have put Colorado and they should have put
Alabama in. I would love to see the rating numbers
from that game last I cannot believe I'm there for years.
I'm there after years and years of watching and listening
to the belly Yankee and then complaining the bitching and
(11:27):
moaning over hell, are we gonna leave the fine seed out?
Now we're complaining about how we're gonna leave.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
The thirteen seed up? Your fourteen seed? What are your
people want?
Speaker 3 (11:38):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (11:38):
That's just one of them ours. No, it's just line
from the very beginning. How many college football teams are there?
Like one hundred and twelve? All right, let's put them
right down the middle sixty so is it sixty two
verse sixty two, sixty one verse sixty one. Line them
all up in a big bracket, and then at the
end of eight weeks we'll crown a champion. Because what
else do you guys want simulated on NCAA College Football
twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
If you want to just pick your big brands, that's
not how it works.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Tell your big brands to go and beat teams.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
And the other thing. I was gonna save this, but
I'm gonna roll. The other thing is here. The other thing.
This is the first year it's gonna be like this.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
This is the first year it's gonna be like this
because reality of the situation is.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
The undefeated national championship is gone.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
The undefeated national champion that we watched teams runs through,
that's over.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
I'm saying after this year, after this year, it will
be over. In a world where you.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Have Indiana and SMU with legitimate tickets to the dance,
every single college football coach across America is saying, we
can win a national championship. Everything, but think about it.
Think about it if you're a team like Michigan State.
You had that little arc with Mark d'antonias. But okay,
(12:55):
so why am I saying what if I'm in the transperport,
I'm telling hey, look look at the guys we got
coming in.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
We can make this run.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
That's a selling point for so many different schools, and
it's not gonna be just the Alabama's, the Ohio States,
the Georgia's, and the so ons because all of their backups,
if they don't play ass freshmen, they're gonna transfer.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
Another really cool thing I noticed today, guys, do you
know there's only one team? And this is ridiculous because
they got expanded by eight teams, there's only one team
that's in the College Football Playoff this year, that was
in the College Football Playoff last year, and that's Texas.
I was, my bad, my bad. I know you're gonna
guess it.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
But to the point, and they expanded the twelves and
got eight, oh think about eleven whole new teams.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Then how drastic that change was and it was beautiful.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
So you mean to tell me, if I'm build Belichick
in North Carolina, for example, I can't go out.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
I love to see it.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
But you see what I'm saying, I love to say
that's a that's a legit selling point. If I'm if
I'm any, if I'm going in Arizona love like look
what Dillingham did at Arizona State.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Or if I'm u U c LA or whoever you
know one of.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
The schools that's just also read, it could change like
that for you, my boy.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
All I'm saying is eleven and twelve.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
I don't mind if moving forward, the committee looks at
the bottom line and just gets in their feelings a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
I'm not gonna be mad about it.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
I'm not I'm not gonna be mad about because if
you're gonna give me the big Brank if you're gonna
give me, I just think both those teams would have
gave us better games.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Mark, I really do you know what? I stand for?
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Justice and truth and I stand for the win lost record.
It's the only thing that nobody argues about, did they
win or did they lose?
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Yes or no? This system.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Give me the twelve and eleven just get Give me
the stars and a brand. Give me the two left
biggest stars and brands that are on the bubble. That's
where I'm at with this. That's where I'm at with this.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
Man.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
I'm gonna stick with this for a few years. I
could change, but I'm gonna be on this next year.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
To a twelve and eleven.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Better not give me a bigger No, you can better
not hear you standing up for the little guy ever again.
I bet I hear you standing up for the little
guy ever again? Ever, Mifter, I want big brand college football.
Give me the brands. Yeah, man, don't give me Rourke.
You don't give me that last don't give me that
last day doing this Christmas shopping Mom and Pop store?
Speaker 3 (15:07):
What do I have used for that? Give me Amazon
two day delivery? Hey?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, me and this time of the year.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
See exactly. I mean trucks I see in my neighborhood
every day. You're the problem.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Okay, I'm just, I'm just. I just want the best.
Stop playing around with it.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
Man.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Ohio State has had a very interesting beginning drive to
this game.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
It has not been very successful.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Outline what's going on in that and then in the
rest of some of the the rest of the playoffs
here we had NFL games on a Saturday.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
I have some words about that as well. Say tuned,
Martin whits Vida Husky, Fox Sports Football Saturday.

under wins from my Vegas Raiders over the next two
weeks at half a game. They play the Jaguars tomorrow
(16:15):
and the Saints on the twenty ninth. That Saints the
Raiders game on the twenty ninth is going to be
a special a special game for sure.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
Yeah. Absolutely, Well anything with the Saints, don't they have
the Raiders? Was the Packers Monday? Oh okay, the Raiders
do the sat that's all. Yeah, Saints and Packers Monday,
Monday Night, fourteen points spread.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
All right, all right, let me ask you a question.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
Sure, as Ohio State scored a touchdown, Tennessee just went
three and now, so maybe we are I know, I
was gonna say something to you man to minute you
said something completed the first down and then went down
to score.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Do you agree, VJ?
Speaker 4 (16:47):
That more often than not, especially in postseason play, the
best quarterback and the best coach that combination advances more often.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Than in the NFL. Yes.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Yes, So if that is true, tell me why the
Rams aren't a serious threat to win.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
The Super Bowl?
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Because I said when they won the Super Bowl, I
think a huge monkey was let off of Matthew Stafford's
back and he's still playing, he's still locked in. I'm
not doubting his commitment or anything. But I just think
that that team kind of they pushed and pushed and pushed.
They pushed all their chips into the middle of the table.
They lost a lot of draft picks because of it
and set themselves back in the draft.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
But it worked.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
They got that ring, and then you had McVeigh flirt
with even leaving right, and then you had God, I
can't believe I'm blinking on number ninety nine, Aaron Donald Skill. Yeah,
I'm sorry, ladies and gentlemen, mine's blinking there.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Yeah. Aaron Donald leving in an interview that he.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
Played that Super Bowl year as his last year, but
then lately, but then in the middle of season decided
to come back. And when you do things like that,
you're in, but you're you're kind of mentally out. I
think they're just at the point now where they got
that ring. They don't have the talent to win the
Super Bowl, but they're there. They're professionals. They're gonna go out,
they're gonna bust their ass in the off season. They're
gonna eat, they're gonna lift, they're gonna run, they're gonna train,
(18:06):
they're gonna do all the things you need to do
to prepare yourself for an NFL season. Covering them, I
see it up close in person. I've not seen a
more serious locker room in any sport that I've covered
so far than when I walk into a Rams locker room,
even after wins.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
So they're all in for it.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
They just don't have the jimmies and Joe's and mcvay's
got a ring and Stafford's got a ring. And I
always say they're the one pro sport where one ring
last year a lifetime. It's that super Bowl ring. NBA
you need a few, right world, serious you need a few,
Stanley Cup you need a few. The NFL you get
one super Bowl ring at a quarterback and the head coach.
You're a super Bowl champion for ever and off just
(18:43):
that one. And it's always solidified in uh in cmen.
And so I think the reason why they aren't legitimate
super Bowl champions because they had their run. Stafford may
play another year. You know he's not gonna hear it,
but I'm talking about this year in which they have won.
They've got on seven to two in their last nine games,
and the same thing.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Last year started slow and then had a good run. Yeah,
they almost want a playoff game.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Last year beating Detroit, they probably would have beaten Tampa.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
You maybe, yeah, you could be right there. I just
don't think they have enough guns.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
Man.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
They got they got the names.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
They got the big name, Matthew Stafford, hall of Famer,
super Bowl winner, you know, Sean mcvain. Figure, this one
will be actual Hall of fame said it again. So
if he gets this one, he'll be an Actually. Oh man, Well,
you go back and forth on this all the time.
I think he's in now. But I think they have
the name of the coach, and they have the name
of the quarterback. They just don't have to complete They
don't have the complete teamore, that's all. And they injuries
(19:39):
this year. Pooka's out. A IR starts IR, Coop starts
on IR. You get set back. Yeah, you can make
a little run, but you end up wearing yourself out
at this point.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Just get it.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
It's like a twenty point leader in basketball, right, You
see those teams cut it down to three, cut it
down to four, but can't get over the hump. What's
always the narrative. They exerted so much energy to get
it to two, get it to three, you don't have
enough to get over. You exert so much energy trying
to climb out of a warn one and four hole
in the NFL, which is huge. You win seven of
your last nine, and now you're to the point where
(20:09):
injuries are starting to pile up on teams and you're
playing the better competition, the best competition the post season.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
That's the thing with the Rams. The Rams are getting
healthy at the right time. The injuries are piled up
for them to.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Start the year.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
I got a feeling you think they've got a hold up.
Y'all think they got a shot in?
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Is this way?
Speaker 8 (20:24):
Is this?
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Why is here? Did do we think the Rams? Saying it?
Put it? Say with your chest? Do we think the
Rams have a legitimate shot?
Speaker 6 (20:30):
You?
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Do you think they have? And if you do, it's fine.
I'm not not put them third right now in the NFC.
Speaker 6 (20:34):
Wow, put them on the rundown, because it's at least
a conversation for sure.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
But if I was setting odds to Winny's Super Bowl
from the NFC, I'd have Philadelphia first, Detroit second, in
the Rams thir if.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
I wow, Wow, not Tampa with that number three offense,
and Baker bawling and that defense coming in the form
over the last six weeks and just went.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
And put up a forty burger, a hard ball nose charge.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
I was there, know. I mean, I like Tampa right now.
They're getting healthier and that defense is starting to write
the ship. I think halfway through the season they're like
twenty seventh in the league. I agree with you on Tampa.
I don't, but I don't want to knock them down
in order to build the Rams up. I think that
the Rams. Martin said it really well, like if you
have the head coach and you have the quarterback, and
(21:20):
to me, they have both.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
Yeah, you know what you said.
Speaker 6 (21:22):
There's validity to what you were saying about Stafford won
the Super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Does he? You know?
Speaker 6 (21:26):
And it would be a subconscious thing like he's not
checked out. But I'm not so conscious, you know, not
have that exact like extrait to get that Super Bowl
what you need. But at the end of the day,
if you're looking at teams who have a chance in
the NFC, I would probably put the Rams right there
ahead of the Bucks.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
I think that I'm not mad at it. Yeah, I
want too, and I think the books over them. But
I'm not mad at what you guys.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
There's no team in the NFC that is is perfect
by any stretch. I love Philly. I love Philly, I do, man,
I'm so dad.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
I'm not especially I mean, especially with Jayla Hurst. Come on,
what y'all asked for? That's what your wide receiver asked for.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
The media didn't do anything besides stick to the camera
in A. J.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Brown's face. He's the one that said y'all couldn't pass
the ball. Tell jack City see that Jay with the
black and Jackson.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Tell him Jay Hurts.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Generals are called him Jalen L. Hurts because he's wearing
that Samuel L. Jackson hat. That's my man, I know,
I do likely no what's to love after you watch
Nick Sirianni cursing out Clint Hurt and Jalen Carter about
to fight on the sideline in the middle of a
ten game winning streak.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
Maybe just me, I just like my coaches like less
wanting to fight their own player.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
That's me. Travis Kelsey. I watched Travis.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Kelsey bump Andy Reid in the Super Bowl. You know what,
Andy Reid didn't do fight back. You know, you can't
even look at him because he's you know, he doesn't
even look I think Andy realizes he's in charge. Nick
Girianni's what you say to me?
Speaker 3 (22:57):
What are you doing? What are you doing? What a
clown man?
Speaker 4 (23:00):
All right, I'm which I'm not as mad as I don't.
I feel what you're saying about him. I told you
earlier in the year, I'm coming to that side, but
I really we'll talk more. Was it when he shaved
his head this year after the losing streak, or was
it no, it wasn't when he said no, no, no,
my team actually likes me to act like a jerk
and then on Tuesday apologize after he had a meeting
with ownership. Or was it like the most recent thing
(23:21):
where you have all this drama between Jalen Hurts and
and uh Brandon Grahant talking about it.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
He's always don't worry about it. Jalen is gonna be Jalen.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Then I'm just gonna fight Jalen Carter the other Jalen
on the teams as clock is ticking away, all of.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
That, some of his body language I don't like.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
I will admit that some of his body language, just
the way he carries himself, like you said, you got
to be an adult room, just the way he cares
as the NFL head coach. I can look at that
now and go, okay, I could see why people don't
like you, bro. I don't care either way, but I
see why people don't like you.
Speaker 3 (23:49):

(24:13):
said that Ohio State had an interesting first drive down
the field. We would have addressed it. After the commercial break,
I decided I was just gonna let Steve de Seger
take over for the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
What hap I was? I'm not ready to jinx anything else.
I want to see a good game.
Speaker 9 (24:26):
Ste What happened was there could not have been a
better start for the Buckeyes in this game, two drives,
two touchdowns, fourteen nothing lead over Tennessee, still over eight
minutes to go in the first quarter, and there are
tens of thousands of Tennessee Valls fans there in the
cold twenty five degrees in Columbus, Ohio. By the way,
(24:47):
temperature was in the twenties in South Bend last night
as Notre Dame dominated Indiana attempts in the twenties at
Penn State Todays and Nitney Lyons won easily.
Speaker 8 (24:55):
Thirty eight ten over SMU.
Speaker 9 (24:57):
And then you've got this game tonight with the fourteen
nothing lead for the home side, the Buckeyes Will Howard
with a touchdown pass at thirty seven yards Jeremiah Smith.
There was a forty yard completion on the second drive
to Amakea Abuka that's set up a first in goal.
They have scored fourteen nothing Ohio State. In between those
two drives, Tennessee went three and out. By the way,
(25:17):
five seed Texas won at home over Clemson, eliminating the
Tigers thirty eight to twenty four.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
By the way.
Speaker 9 (25:23):
Number one rank Georgia, Number one Oregon is off till
its Rolls Bowl quarterfinal and number two Georgia is off
until its Sugar Bowl quarterfinal, which will be against Notre
Dame New Year's Night. In the NFL, we had two
games today. Kansas City beat Houston twenty seven to nineteen.
Defensive lineman of the Chiefs, Chris Jones left with a
strayed calf. Wide receiver for Houston, Stefan Diggs was already
(25:44):
out for the year with a torn acl and then
wide receiver Tank Dell was injured and it was serious.
Today he is hospitalized with a knee injury, including a
dislocated kneecap, and he was hurt on a touchdown reception,
injured in a collision by a teammate. Dell had six
catch ninety eight yards in that score. Kansas City now
fourteen and one. Xavier Worthy seven receptions sixty five yards
(26:07):
and a TD. At Baltimore, the Ravens beat Pittsburgh thirty
four seventeen, each team ten and five on the season.
Derrick Henry twenty four carries one hundred sixty two yards.
The Ravens clinch of playoffs bought Zay Flowers five receptions
one hundred yards. Saints running back Alvin Kamara is out
for the Monday night game at Green Bay due to
(26:28):
a groin injury. Saints wide receiver Chris Olave also out
with a head injury. Dolphins wide receiver Jalen Wattall was
already listed as doubtful for tomorrow against the Niners with
a knee injury. Baseball Hall of Famer Ricky Henderson passed
away at the age of sixty five. He had over
three thousand career hits and over fourteen hundred stolen bases.
In college basketball, today, North Carolina beat eighteenth ranked UCLA
(26:50):
seventy six seventy four, ninth rank Marquette was a seventy
two to seventy winner over Xavier, eleventh rank Yukon edge
Butler seventy eight seventy four.
Speaker 8 (27:00):
And there's a top ten women's.
Speaker 9 (27:01):
College basketball USC at Yukon matchup going on on Fox
TV right now. SC mid second quarter is leading Connecticut
thirty five twenty three. Juju Watkins with twelve points so
far in the NHL today, Nashville in overtime BA to
LA three to two.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Back to you, Thanks Steve Martin and VJ.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Coming with to you live from he tire ac dot
Com studios. I just saw a friend of mine who
actually you know, shout him out. He runs two Stripes
CPD dot com. He's a big Ohio State Buckeye fan.
His name is Colton Denning.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
What's up, Colton? He just tweeted fourteen point lead for
Ryan Day early in the first quarter. What could go wrong?
Speaker 2 (27:41):
So that shows the mind state of Ohio State fans.
Tennessee has another negative play on first down here.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Yeah, well, I picked him to win this game. I
don't like this all red they got on. I think
it looks stupid, but I did. I just think they
have better players than the Tennessee does. Don't get this one.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
So VJ. We lost the legend this week. Oh man, man,
we lost the legend this week.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
And I'm trying to do this without getting emotional because
I'm paid a quick picture for you guys.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
I go as fast as I can. I'm homesick.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
I haven't been home in five years, all right, So
when something happens out here to me, it makes me
think about home, you know, it kind of gives me.
It's this time of years Christmas. Families are getting together,
people are traveling, going home to see mom and dad
and Grandma, brothers and sister and cousins and all that
good stuff that's going on. And anything that reminds me
back into DMV reminds me of good old Dell City, Woodbridge, Virginia.
You know, kind kind of orders my eyes a little bit.
(28:31):
And I saw that Ricky Henderson had passed away. And
I don't get too choked up over celebrity deaths. Kobe,
Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, though, those are the biggie smalls.
Those are the ones that you know, Prince, those are
the ones that you know that hit me. You know,
Leah was sad, but it didn't you know, hit me.
And the reason why Ricky Henderson hit me is because
mar we all do this. You've done a lot in
this business. I've done a lot of this. We've all
(28:51):
have done so many different things. We haven't just sat
on the microphone and talked. And we're fans, right, We're
fans of the sports where we have teams we like,
we have coaches we like, wait, teams we don't like.
We have players we don't like it, coach we don't like,
and so on and so forth. But I believe everybody
does this business for a reason. There was a click
in your life, and there was a click in your
moment said, let you know you wanted to do what
we do and you played basketball?
Speaker 3 (29:10):
Why you told them? Alan Iverson?
Speaker 4 (29:12):
That was the guy for a that was a favorite player,
right Like, So you think about basketball and the reason
why you wanted to play, I probably wear an armsleeve,
I probably want corn rolls.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
It was because of that one guy. In nineteen eighty six.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
The reason why I asked my mom could I play
baseball for the Dell City Cardinals was for one single reason,
and it was because Ricky Henderson. So when he passed,
it just made me start to think about those days
and think about those times. And then you just start
to put an athlete like him in your head and
in your memory bank. And we had to stop saying
things Martin like, we'll never see this again and we'll
never see a player like this again, because I think
(29:44):
it disrespects guys like Ricky Henderson.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
And just a few things that I have down here,
I didn't memorize a lot.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
I can go back and research and stuff like we
doing this business, but Mark, twenty five years, I forgot
about that bro twenty five years in the majors forever,
twenty five years in the majors. Out of those twenty
five years, guys he led the league in stills twelve times.
He did over he hit over one hundred four times.
The leader this year was sixty seven De la Cruz. Well,
(30:12):
that was the leader this year. What Ricky Henderson used
to do was really quantum leaping in sports. It was
really game changing. It was really astronomical. We will never
ever see a leadoff hitter like Ricky Henderson. He is
the all time leader in runs, He's the all time
leader stolen bases.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
He was only called I look to some maerk twenty
three percent of the time.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
Bro, like this is guss crazy in a time where
the bases were smaller, in a time where you couldn't
just throw back the first base twice and now you
know that the runner, No, he's got a free run
to still after you've thrown back the first base two times.
He played at a time and actually really did break
the barrier of the old school demeanor way of baseball.
(30:56):
Of that the older guy used to look at the
sport of baseball. That's why he was the size for today.
I'm the greatest of all time. I never understood why
he got criticized for that, because at that point he
was the greatest base steller of all time. He didn't say,
you guys suck He didn't say suck it. He didn't
say get out of my back. He just said and
today I'm the greatest of all time at this one.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Skill set that everybody trusts me whish they can do.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
And you know what I mean, Guys in baseball probably
wish they can steal basis, but they're just too damn slow.
They can't do it. Man, two time World Series champ,
he was the ALCS MVP, three Timesilver Slugger, Hall of Famer,
just MVP, ten time All Star. I just it's just
his career, man. And it just made me start thinking
about home, and it's the holidays, and my ods got
a little water. No tear dropped, but the odds watered
(31:43):
a little bit because it made me go back and
like wow, I remember asking my mom could I play bass?
And within a week I was on the del Citi Cardinals.
And it was simply because of Ricky Henderson. And we
got cards back in the day with our pictures on
him and on the back and had your name if
your bat left the right through left right, and it
had favorite player, and right there on my card, still
at my house to this day, in the frame on
the wall on the back and says favorite Player, Ricky Henderson, Sir,
(32:07):
rest in peace. I appreciate you making baseball fun for
me and making me want to play.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
And he will be sorely, sorely missed coming up next.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
It's the worst offseason move in the NFL and is
finally rearing its ugly head.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Martin Wis Vida Husky, Fox Sports Football Saturday.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Rado.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Martin and VJ coming to your life from the tirerack
dot Com Studios.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
So VJ, what eventually was going.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
To happen has happened finally in a press release, which
I feel like is a little bit much to announce
who's going to be the starting quarterback of your team,
but in a press release.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
Could have been email Martin, No.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
It's just it's it's generally like your coach could have
said that at a at a post game as Trayvon
Henderson walking to the end zone.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Again, such a tough start for alliles.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Thing one ty to nothing extra point pending three thirty
one left in the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Yeah, but you know what, though we've seen stranger things Tennessee,
we've seen stranger things in both college football. And you
and I sitting in.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
This seat, these seats, we're not sharing one sitting in
these seats. Remember, uh, in fact, layoff, this is Trevor
where my Trevor Lawrence take was born. We throw four
first half interceptions. I said he should have been I
said to bench them.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Game going on to.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Kansas City and losing to Kansas City and the playoffs.
But anyway, it's about to be twenty one nothing Tennessee here,
but we'll see if Tennessee is able to mount a comeback.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
That Tennessee offense has been pretty high flying throughout the year,
but it's a little cold out there. A ton of
people Tennessee fans there.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
There's also really good defense, though their offense has been
high flying, but this is this is a good defense.
You talking about one the top five defense in rush
yards against and top five defense and scoring in the nation.
And the Ohio State's defense have been real good all year. Well,
they decided to not run the playbook that they used
against Michigan absolutely not because they want to try pood
they were tougher than us, and we know that's.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Not the case.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
So what also wasn't tough and was a lot of
people not just you know, trying to be too smart
for their own good.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
It was a terrible idea from day one to sign
Kirk Cousins the draft. Michael Pennix, if you were with me, congratulations,
you've been finally have been proven correct as Kirk Cousins
will not be a remember the Atlanta Falcons, I'm calling
(34:40):
it by January first. Yeah, I listen, I'm sticking with
I understood why they did it.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
I get why they did it.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
They realized now I'm with Martin on it was a mistake,
and then they realized the mistake that they made. You
don't sit on a mistake that you make in business,
in sports's business, especially the NFL.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
They're the king. Oh man, we might have made a
mistake doing this.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
Okay, we're gonna make this draft pickle Maryan I went down,
but yeah, listen, don't say nothing to the boss, like like,
don't say nothing to the boss. But we have to
go Rogue here, we have to go Rogan make this
pick and they did, and now now we get Now
we get panis here you go, here's the number eight
overall pick.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Look, and I'm happy for the eternal do Rag.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
Yes, man, I'm happy for Him'm glad he's gonna be
able to get out there, you Rag and experience the
NFL at this rate.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
But the biggest like never he liked the timing. The timing. No,
it should have been three games ago. Vision still division
is still up.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
It probably should have been the start of the season
because you probably never should have signed Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
You know what you have right now. You know what
you have right.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
Now, a much better team because you would have been
able to make more you know what, You couldn't use
that extra Kirk Cousins money on one hundred million dollars defense.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
True guys.
Speaker 6 (35:59):
Also, an ESPN report today came out saying the Atlanta
Falcons are expected to cut kirk Cousins before his ten
million dollars roster bonus is due, which is March seventeenth.
Speaker 4 (36:08):
I can see it, so I don't think he's gonna
be on the roster for a day in twenty twenty six,
much less March seventeenth to twenty five.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Think about how twenty twenty five right, he'll be somewhere
else by twenty twenty.
Speaker 6 (36:22):
Thinking about though he signed he just signed this contract
and he uprooted his family and stuff, like he was
a free agent anyway, but like he chose Atlanta to
plant his family.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
He's a family man. He's a family man. Georgia is
the chief state. This is the life of NFL. It's
coming to the end.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
Anyway.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
He got one more big deal he got he got
paid this year for it. That the cuts coming. I'm
with Martin, the cuts coming. I think he'll still be
on a roster twenty twenty five because he's still have
a game, so I think he'll still be up.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
But I think when the off season.
Speaker 10 (36:46):
Starts, I think Kirk Cousins will be a free agent.
He will be released and Puss is not going to
be on the bench. Kirk Cousins will not be like
they do it, like they'll send Mariota. They sent Mariota.
They're saying Kirk Cousins home.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Wow, Kirk Ruszins will not be He will not be
on the bench like he may be a member of
the Atlanta Falcons and like he's on the list on
the roster, right, but he ain't gonna be there.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
Would Magic Johnson. He ain't gonna beat there.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
Wow, you put it on the board. That's a good one, though.
You gotta put that one on the board by this
time next.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Week, all right, bet? All right, Oh wow, that's a
good one.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
I still think he's very I don't because I don't
think Kirk, but I think he would say no.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
I don't think Kurt would.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
I think he would fight back again, like, hold on,
you see you're doing No, I'm not going nowhere.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
I don't think he's gonna have a choice.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
I don't think he's gonna have an that cool for
a franchise to do that, though, just tell you benched
him and they say go home.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
I don't know if I like that.
Speaker 6 (37:40):
He totally unprecedented because we've never seen a team pay
a quarterback this much money and then turn around and
draft someone in the top ten.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Because, you know, because it was dumb. That's why he
was dumb. It was dumb when it happened. It was
dumb when everybody tried to tell.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
You how it was a good idea, And it was
even dumber when Kirk Cousins was quite literally the least
efficient quarterback in football.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
And I'm not even talking about your your peo, you
all your little nerve calculated numbers.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
I'm talking about no touchdowns and seven interceptions in the
three games.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
Fan.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
That's when it was the dumbest, because you might have
won one or two of those if you had had.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
Panics out there. He's had a very bad month. The
last four or five weeks has been really, really bad.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
I might have benched them after the four interception game.
That's probably when I would have done it. But they
try to come back and and stick with him. You're
paying a guy a lot of money. We also have
to realize, dude, there's a business size. You're paying them
a lot of money. There's no way I think they
tell him to go home. I just think they. I
think they're gonna cut him at the end of before
he could get that ten million dollars.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Listen, we tried it.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
But hey, here's here's a chunk of what you made
this year, on top of the other two max contracts
you've gotten before. You should have enough money. We've seen
you in quarterback. You don't live too lavishly. You live
within your means. I'm pretty sure you got enough generational
money put away.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
But I like that Ian.
Speaker 4 (39:03):
I think Mark by March seventeen, he is definitely not
and I don't think they waste time with it. I
think right after the season he's probably gonna be released soon.
That way, you go into the draft, you're going to
all the off season stuff knowing that Michael Pennis Junior, Hey, congratulation,
another African American, another black quarterback going to start in
the NFL. That's building on that side. I'm always a
guy for that, So congratulations to him. But the Kirk
Cousins thing, I still say they know they made a mistake,
(39:25):
and then that's why they drafted Pinnicks. Because think about it,
what if they don't draft Pinnicks, look where you are,
You're stuck with Kirk Cousins. We've got to get the
credit have done. No, I'm not giving them.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Why becauld they get a mistake?
Speaker 2 (39:40):
No, do what you should have done that If you're
not gonna draft, if you're gonna shine Kirk Cousins and
you don't.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
Think he's the right answer, well, first of all, I
don't know, don't do it. But if you do, I
don't do it.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
But then if you do, then what you do is
you shign a veteran backup quarterback.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
And you draft the first round player. You draft the
first rounder. That's the the other thing. The opportunity constantly
just missed on a player coming up next. This AFC
team sneaking em it's a sneaky threat.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Let's see if VJ agrees Martin A VJ Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Fight Back Tennessee, Fight back Martin.
Speaker 2 (40:21):

act dot Com studios.
Speaker 3 (40:24):
Tire act dot Com.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Well, if you get there with an unmached election, fast
free shipping, periodize of protection and over ten thousand recommended
this dollars, tire Act dot Com swear that tire buying should.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
Be heyo, Martin, what Tennessee needs some milk? This is
what we call B two A right now, a little
belt two ass boots to ass man.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
There as Ohio State with a twenty one and twenty
one and nothing lead.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
I saw something. They had both ran thirteen plays.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Ohio State had upwards to two hundred yards, where Tennessee
had like sixteen.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
Sixteen total yards at the thirteen minute mark in a
second quarter.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
That'll I tell you what, I'm not over the amount
of pressure that Ohio State is on right now. Don't
let something go wrong. Don't let an interception happen on
this show.
Speaker 4 (41:17):
I'm not saying it will, but an interception, a fumble
or something like that. There's so many people that for
Tennessee fans at this game, that is, oh my goodness,
it doesn't feel like a true home field advantage. As
Will Howard throws a pass that probably.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
Could have been intercepted instead of tip back up in
the air, Howard catches the ball and runs, doesn't pick
up the first down, still going to be fourth down.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
But that was just a ridiculous play to watch.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
Let's seek Tennessee, get the ball back here, coming up
here in just a moment. If the ball was tipped,
and if it wasn't tipped, I think it would have
been intercepted.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
But they're getting desperate. You see that eight man front
right there, and they blitz.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Seven like Ale State lining up on fourth down to
go forward or fourth to fourth.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
Oh yeah, they're not going for this.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
I mean, it is a no man's land position. This
is a tough punt. It's too far for a field goal.
Speaker 2 (42:04):
I don't hate the call, especially when you've been moving
the ball at will I from Ohio State and they
are going to get the first down after a mis
tackle Jeremiah Smith.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
These receivers are just are just man, They're good. They're good,
brocause I mean jeremih Smith caught the ball.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
He was behind the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
Yeah, and made two guys miss and just you know what,
I'll take that first down, which.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Is why I was just like, what happened, and this
is natural?
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Watch this right, this is natural that right there, that
little hop skip, that's just you can't coach that.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
You either have that or you don't. Period either born
with that or you're not. It's crazy. So you know, VJ,
we prepped for this show staying in the state of Ohio.
Speaker 4 (42:45):
Well, I want to kick it over now because there
are three teams right now deemed on the bubble.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
Yes, in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
I'm looking at NFL dot com flash standing, So I'm
going straight to the source.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
The Colts, the Dolphins, and the Bengals in the hunt.
If the season ended today, these teams will make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
The Los Angeles Chargers and the Denver Broncos. Ian says, Chargers, Broncos, Ravens, baby,
look out because one team is coming for you.
Speaker 6 (43:26):
Mm yeah, So I was I was curious. What are
the Bengals odds of making the playoffs right now?
Speaker 3 (43:33):
Per nfl dot Com, playoff probability says nine nine percent.
Speaker 6 (43:38):
So I'm reading a Cincinnati dot Com article right now
that has said eight percent, so that's even more optimistic.
But this lays out everything that has to happen for Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
Get a load of this because yeah, because it seems
pretty doable now that I read over. It's all eight
percent of it.
Speaker 6 (43:52):
So obviously, so obviously they still need to win the
final three games of the year.
Speaker 3 (43:56):
They've got to win out. Obviously.
Speaker 8 (43:58):
That kind of goes without.
Speaker 3 (43:58):
Saying to the teams.
Speaker 6 (43:59):
They got the Browns, So they've got at home against
Cleveland on Sunday, at home against Denver on Saturday. Uh
and then December twenty eighth, they they're in Pittsburgh there
you go?
Speaker 3 (44:10):
Or yeah, they're in Pittsburgh year January fifth.
Speaker 6 (44:13):
Yeah, all right, uh so gotta win out, but they
also need the Broncos to lose in Denver. To the
Chiefs in week eighteen. Could go either way, but that
seems doable. It's not a tall ask.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
The problem are we playing Chiefs players? That's the problem,
right there? Will the Chiefs be playing there?
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Guys? Into it?
Speaker 6 (44:36):
Is the backup, right that plays into it. It does,
And I guess you could say that Denver is still
going to be more.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
In the hunt down to the last, down to the
last possession.
Speaker 6 (44:45):
Okay, okay, so we're feeling questionable about about that that
part of it.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (44:51):
They also need the Dolphins and the Colts to lose
at least one more game.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
I think that's a you could book that. That's definitely
which one? Which one you booking?
Speaker 6 (45:00):
Now, let me tell you. I can tell you Miami's
remaining schedule.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
I already know you know, I know it.
Speaker 6 (45:05):
Of course you know a dozen of the listeners. Miami's
remaining schedule includes San Francisco at home, at Cleveland and at.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
The Jets the bum ass Jets. To finish, they just
need to lose one of those. Which one they losing?
I think they might lose two honestly, what too? But
they're definitely losing to San Francisco. San Francisco is beating
us tomorrow in Miami. That's a little on a lake.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
Okay, that's a little preview of the post. But yeah,
I'll have that in my pigs.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Now, Miami's a one point underdog.
Speaker 4 (45:36):
So.
Speaker 6 (45:38):
That's everything. So if you look to me, that sounds
like more than nine percent. The problem is maybe statistically,
but that I seem like I feel like personally, I
would say there's more than a nine.
Speaker 3 (45:49):
Percent chance should they make it?
Speaker 6 (45:52):
If you ask me, like, what percent chance do I
think all that happens, I would say.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
Forty forty chance. Wow, if it's forty percent chance to
rain you bringing it up.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
Brother, maybe thirty five.
Speaker 6 (46:06):
Because the most unlikely thing on there is the is
the Chiefs beating the Broncos in week eighteen. That's the
most unlikely outcome on there. And the only reason it's
the most unlikely is because we think the Chiefs will be,
you know, sitting a lot of their starters.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
I don't go ahead, no, I don't think so though.
I don't think the Chiefs are gonna sit a lot
of their start I don't they have a bye. I
have a think about giving players two weeks off?
Speaker 6 (46:31):
Well even better then, I mean that then the chief's
odds are even better in that case.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
And to be honest, Andy Page, historically, I feel like
generally lines his guys like they play.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
They play the preseason, they play, you know, they generally play.
Speaker 4 (46:44):
I just did the Denver game for Cincinnati in the
Pittsburgh game. That those are the two games right there, David,
have you like they have to win out?
Speaker 3 (46:51):
I think they get Cleve. I think Cleveland give.
Speaker 4 (46:53):
Them a little run tomorrow though, I think Cleveland they
still feel the defense, they still feel the running game.
The UCLA kid's going to be quarterback now, my man,
crab Lakes has been bingched.
Speaker 3 (47:05):
I think it's a different pace.
Speaker 4 (47:06):
You haven't been practicing for him, right, There could be
some wriggles there. I think Cincinnati will win, but I
think that's a tough game. But that Denver team, that
defense coming in and then going to Pittsburgh in a
division rivalry game the last game of the year, I
don't know, man. I think this team's defense is just
too cooked. I really do. They can score points. Burrow's
(47:27):
having an MVP type year, Chase is having an offensive
player to the year type year. Their defense is just cooked, though, Man,
you got your course, you got Hendricks.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
Least the league of sacks.
Speaker 6 (47:36):
Well that's also another part of the question too, is
if Cincinnati were to sneak into the playoffs, I kind
of want to know what you guys think about this.
Would Burrow have a pretty strong case for MVP right
as good as Josh Allen has played? Yes, I mean
strong case Cincinnati. You know, they go from a nine
percent chance of making the playoffs Burrow wills them in.
(47:59):
Come on, guys, Yeah, he's played incredible against top competition.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
Here's the thing, as Tennessee intercepts Will Howard on the
tip ball in the end zone. We'll see if they
canna put something together here. But that was what No,
that's an interception, Willie boy? Sorry that am I am?
Speaker 3 (48:14):
I off here?
Speaker 4 (48:15):
Look Tipballieremiah Smith, no catch. I think they want Smith
to get a touchdown. That is not a catch.
Speaker 2 (48:21):
And then my man catches the ball with his foot
on the Ah. Wow, his foot was not on the
ground as he caught the ball just by an inch.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
That's brutal.
Speaker 4 (48:35):
You know it's even more brutal. Oh no, that's a catch.
Look at his foot, Look at it toe touching the turf.
Speaker 10 (48:41):
It's gonna be tough, tough in the turchways a game
of inches touching the turf.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
So all right, but here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (48:49):
If Joe, if Cincinnaty somebody finds a way to do
all that magical thing you're talking about, which I think
is probably closer to fifteen percent forty percent, but sure,
why not.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
It's Saturday night. Uh, Joe Burr is the MVP of
the league. Then that's what think about. Because there's only
so there's only the only path.
Speaker 4 (49:07):
For Cincinnati to get this way is for Burrough to
even go at his mind, and he is off right now.
Speaker 3 (49:12):
Then you have Josh Allen, who mind you.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
I know we were crazy the last couple of weeks,
but they finished the year with some very non marque games.
Speaker 6 (49:19):
And it's always recency bias. As strong as we feel right.
Speaker 2 (49:22):
Now, three week stretch right here, I think Saquon lost
it last week.
Speaker 3 (49:26):
You can thank A. J.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
Brown for that and Nick Sirianni and all of that scenario.
But we'll see what happens, because it's gonna be fascinating.
I can't I'm sorry, I just cannot wait.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
Still in the clubhouse. I don't wait for Eagles post
game tomorrow. I cannot wait. And it's a division game.
Speaker 4 (49:41):
They're on the road to Washington tomorrow and Washington is
still just two games behind them.
Speaker 3 (49:45):
They haven't locked it up yet.
Speaker 4 (49:47):
If the Eagles went out, I mean, if the Eagles
lose out, Washington wins out, Washington wins the division, I
was not locked up yet.
Speaker 2 (49:53):
I'm so excited for Eagles post game because no matter what,
they've now backed themselves into a corner.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
Where it's either all right, so okay, So I've heard
this analogy.
Speaker 2 (50:04):
I'm gonna butcher it roughly, but bj you've been in
relationship of a relationship now, you know when you're asked
to do something and you just don't do it a
bunch of times, right, and then one day like are
you kind of half do it? Like she's like cleaning
the bathroom, kind of half cleaned the bathroom, and then
one day she really gets on you for it. So
you really spit shine that thing, you know what I'm saying,
Like you really go in Now she goes in there,
(50:24):
she's not happy that you clean the bathroom so much.
She's upset because now you've shown that all the other
times where you were b yes, and you.
Speaker 4 (50:32):
Could have done it right. You've done it right. You
could have done it right. You got to be a
good parent. You want to be a good parent.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
So now, so now that we're in a situation where
before it was they need to run the.
Speaker 3 (50:44):
Ball feeds sake one. He's the MVP. He's the MVP.
Speaker 4 (50:48):
Now they came into postgame New Jack City sat down
and said, isn't this what y'all been asking for?
Speaker 2 (50:53):
After he threw it for what one hundred or two
hundred and fifteen yards or something ridiculous and A J.
Brown had the number that he did. So now what
happens next? What happens at the end of this week?
If Saquan runs for like forty and the passing game continues,
congratulates did you cost him?
Speaker 3 (51:09):
To the m v P. What happens this week is
sei Quon.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Wants for one and A J. Brown only catches you know,
it's only like, you know, three catches thirty six yards?
What happened to the passing game? You're right back to
what you used to be. And you know what, I
just know they have the perfect guy at the helm
to guide them through what could be very turbulent waters.
Speaker 4 (51:27):
AJ Brown is gonna be a Philly for another year,
year and a half. They're gonna move on from.
Speaker 3 (51:31):
We we talk about tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (51:33):
I know, I know, listen, that's why you said that
sa Quon going you are right, But Sakuan going off tomorrow.
Sa Kuan's going off tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (51:44):
You see, if Squan has a bad game, but like
and and it's only due to lack of volume, say,
they really focus on the passing attack. Saquan is such
a great teammate, he doesn't care. No, he's not gonna
make a stink about it post game. But if you
feed Saquon and the receivers have a bad game, you know,
AJ Brown is gona have an issue with it.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
And they're gonna get after about all of it. Nick, Sirianni,
that's the thing. What're you gonna says a great teammate?
You know, it's like or are they gonna be trying
to get up and so they can run the ball more.
I'm telling you this just fascinating because what they really
could have done if they came out and ran the
exact same game plan against Carolina that they did.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
Who they beat last week.
Speaker 4 (52:21):
Help me, uh, oh Carolina. No, that Carolina was two
weeks ago. Last week they beat the Giants, the Gianteelers. Yeah,
they do the same thing that they did to beat
the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
I mean, it's just gonna I just it's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
Let's says drama. No, no, no, Philadelphia, those drama.
Speaker 4 (52:40):
I think it's one game to quiet because I think
that's why Jalen came to the podium the.
Speaker 3 (52:45):
Way he did.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
Honestly, I think it's a game to get AJ quiet. Listen, listen,
you you go. You're gonna go back to what brought you.
Speaker 3 (52:51):
To the dance.
Speaker 4 (52:52):
That's turning and handing the ball to Barkley. Simple is
that AJ live with it, bro, Like I don't. I
can't stand me, guys. I can't stand me, guys. In
the most team oriented sport that's on God's green Earth,
it drives me insane. But I think the I think
the Eagles get back to running the football and pounding
the football in the cold. It's cold back East everywhere
(53:14):
right now, and it's been snowing up and down the
coast in the Northeast, in the Midwest, it's gonna be
snow a games tomorrow. It's gonna be freezing cold at
every game tomorrow. They said the Penn State game today
felt like twelve on the field. That's cold, Like that's
super super type of cold.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
That's what.
Speaker 4 (53:29):
And I think you get back that. I think you
get back that Philly gets back to pounding the ball.
Sakwan is gonna take a stranglehold back on the MVP tomorrow.
That's my prediction.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
We have this, So let's just do this now because
we'll have this conversation a few times through the next
couple of weeks in the postseason.
Speaker 3 (53:42):
Can what how do you define cold?
Speaker 2 (53:45):
Because I agree with you, twelve degrees is bleeping free
and if you've never been in it before, you won't
even understand that.
Speaker 4 (53:53):
It's like it's there's the cold that is so it's
so aggressive you won't believe it's happening.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
That's that's I think there's a big gay. Like from
fifteen to zero, it all feels the same. Once you
go below zero, that's a whole new level. Yeah, but
from fifteen to zero to you know, really like it's seven,
feels like five and nine.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
It's bone chilling cold.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
But we have these some of these conversations about like
forty degrees, thirty degrees.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
It's not cold.
Speaker 2 (54:23):
No, that's not exactly what we're talking about when we
talk about the better cold weather.
Speaker 4 (54:28):
Put a jacket on so you don't catch pneumonia, but
don't tell me you're cold.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
I gotta I gotta shortly teach what was it today?
Sixty something today? But we're in Los Angeles. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 4 (54:39):
But even when it gets down to like fifties and
even I guess to the fifties here and I see
people with scars and ear muscle on and holding their
coffee with two hands, like, oh, bird, no, it's not
you're not cold. I get asked that a lot, you're
not cold. I'm like, no, it's not cold.
Speaker 3 (54:52):
Guys. I know.
Speaker 4 (54:53):
I've lived in the Northeast for ten years. I know
what's two degrees. When you get in your car in
the temper drigage, it says two with that little circle.
Speaker 3 (55:02):
That's cold. Guys like you Martin, I'm with you.
Speaker 4 (55:05):
I think under twenties cold once it gets under twenty
because technically under thirty two is freezing. Once you get
under that, that's freezing. That's when you get snow and
ice and all that other stuff. But you were in Michigan, like,
that's I don't know, Connecticut's cold. And in North New
York or Fort Drum up there on Niagara Falls, that's cold.
But that the Detroit, Michigan where you are are you
(55:25):
with the school, bro, that's cold.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
It was bitter. That's bitter, brutal cold.
Speaker 4 (55:30):
That's like the heat out here. That's like the heat
in Palm Springs. I didn't know when twenty really existed. Yes,
until you get out the car and it's really like
one eighteen one nineteen and you're like, holy bleep, I'm
get me inside.
Speaker 3 (55:42):
I'm not I can't sit by the pool. It's too hot.
We have a development and the College Football Playoff.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
Will talk about that and plus look in on the
whole college football Playoff plus NFL games today. But I know,
I just know for a fact everybody's happy with the
twelve team playoff because this is all anybody's been asking for.
So I know everybody's happy, right Martin Wis's VJ Husky
Fox Sports Radio. That major development, that's right. A Tennessee
(56:15):
field goal three twenty one to three right now to
score buck eyes over the volunteers in the last game
of the first round of the College football player. If
you're listening to Fox Sports Radio, we're coming to you
live from the ti rack dot com studios. If you
want to join the conversation, you could hit us up
on Twitter or x on social media. I'm at Martin
(56:35):
Weiss VJ at the Big Vanilla Funny.
Speaker 3 (56:38):
Vj's got some right there. Go ahead. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (56:40):
From Jason Thompson, who's a listened to the show all
the time, I appreciate you saying Tennessee going Weiss in
BFF mode, shirtless on muscle, muscle beads, getting.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
Their swollen for the ladies BVF.
Speaker 6 (56:55):
YESJA, So I think that's a new, a new I've
already for you.
Speaker 4 (57:00):
Yeah, yeah, I've been using that man, bvs our BVP,
Big Vanilla Poppy.
Speaker 3 (57:03):
You know what I'm saying, that's BV No.
Speaker 6 (57:05):
I just I thought you said BFF on actions.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
No no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (57:08):
Not BFF. I don't have a bf FAF. I don't
have a best. Men should not say best. All right,
let's talk football. Yeah, uh, football players should not say besty.
I did not know that the Tennessee had come out
warming up shirtless until we saw this tweet. Had I
(57:29):
known that, I would have not have said what I
said in the first segment about Tennessee's about why is.
Speaker 3 (57:35):
The one dude green stuff?
Speaker 7 (57:36):
Though?
Speaker 3 (57:37):
Did you see him right there? Why is he? Why
is he listening?
Speaker 2 (57:41):
I just think all when you do this performative act
like oh, we're not cold, we're coming out no shirts.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
Has it ever worked? I'm sure there's been a road
team go somewhere and when a cold.
Speaker 2 (57:53):
You've ever been like, you know, when everybody wears the
same clothes, you know, like, oh we're gonna match all
black suits?
Speaker 3 (58:00):
Has it ever worked? Uh? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (58:03):
Remember when the you got off the plane. I know
some of you guys might be old. I know Steve
remembers this when that you got off the plane at
Notre Dame and they had the fatigues on.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
That worked? So is that the first instance?
Speaker 2 (58:17):
I don't know, because all I can think is like
Lebron in that short suit, the suit that had the short.
Speaker 3 (58:21):
What the with the with the big man? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (58:25):
Did he tell the reporter be better? Is that the that's
the nice start? Like Viola Davis grabbing his purse. I
love that meme. No man, that's uh. I think it
is a what football does. It is a mind thing,
and I don't think it's to intimidate the other team.
I just think for yourself. I don't mind it because
I've been in cold conditions before and I get it.
(58:45):
You want to get your body used to it, and
it's a it's a mind game.
Speaker 2 (58:48):
Man, It's I just think when you're doing it all
like this, the mind game is it's in your head
like like this is almost like it reminds me of
somebody who's over here, Like I'm the toughest guy out here,
who's like like somebody walks in the bar, you know,
they kick the door open and they're like, who wants
some of me?
Speaker 3 (59:08):
Right? Nobody?
Speaker 4 (59:09):
Nobody is chilling. Everybody here is chilling. You coming here
looking for a fight?
Speaker 2 (59:15):
Why because it's because you just got whooped back there
and you want to get you know, get even like
who you're trying to what are you trying to prove?
Speaker 4 (59:24):
Benny has a good one here too, Man said, hopefully
you'll get to cover Sam Darnold lead the Vikings through
to the super Bowl. That's how I got Bennie on Australia, Mike,
cause they might.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
I think honestly, that's the real not the real topic.
But like when I'm talking about all the rams can.
Speaker 4 (59:39):
Make it run, it's because I just flatly don't believe
in a Minnesota Vikings. It's like people who said they
don't believe in gravity or premarital sex, like these things exist,
and they're like, I don't believe in it right or
the moon, like these things exist, but people say I
don't believe in that.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
I just don't believe in the Vikings. I know they're real.
I see the record. I've watched them play all the game.
I'm with you, I just don't believe him.
Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
With you, They're not gonna go on a road to
win a game because I don't think they now here's
the thing. They can still want a division to get
a home playoff game. That's that's the caveat. They're tied
with the lines right now. They can still win a
division get a home playff game. I don't see them
going on the road though, and a wild card and
getting a dub And I'm with you, I think it's
a lot of smoking mirrors. I think they've kind of
they've won some of these games in spite of Sam
(01:00:24):
Donald That's why I don't think Sam Donald's getting paid
the way. This new narrative came out this week about
I think he'll get a contract somewhere, but Sam is
thinking about going to be a free agent quarterback, and
free agent quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
In this league get paid. I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
We are a summer off of thirty six year old
Kirk Cousins with what Achilles Tendon getting one hundred and
thirty million dollars guaranteed.
Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
Yeah, Sam Donald's not getting close to that, guaranteed. He's
not getting close to it guaranteed.
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
I guarantee you Sam Donald is getting more than a
hundred guaranteed, more than one hundred guaranteed.
Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
Yes, all right, I'll bet it. He should get it
from the Viking. I'll bet it.
Speaker 4 (01:00:58):
I mean, it's just no, because it's JJ spot Man.
They don't draft him for that. Read they don't draft
him for that.
Speaker 6 (01:01:03):
Look, if you have a known commodity in Donald, do
you want someone you see is thriving in your system?
Or do you want someone who is a mystery box
behind door number two? It could even be he could
even be Sam Donald.
Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
I don't know if he's coming up to series.
Speaker 4 (01:01:19):
I don't know if Sam Donald's thrive, I think they
won this right last year in spite of him. I
think they won some games this year in spite of him.
And listen, I'll give you.
Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
The Jacksonville game. They won that game in spite of
the Zam Darnell. I'm not going to go with.
Speaker 4 (01:01:33):
The whole weapons then, because I'm a firm believer that
a quarterback in these weapons. I'm not gonna go there.
But you getting this record that they have this year,
and they're sitting at twelve or two right now, Okay, cool,
But they go and lose in the first round of
the playoffs, even if it's at home. Let's say it
won a division and they say an NFC team comes
up here and beats them in Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
Oh, you're giving him one hundred million dollars.
Speaker 6 (01:01:53):
If we see that happen, maybe we think differently. But
if we're having the conversation right now and we're seeing
the body of work Sam Donald's put in front of it,
they're twelve and two, it's like, how much better can
you get? Is? You know, fourteen and oh obviously, but
twelve and two. It's one of the best records.
Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
On the end, Like this.
Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
If Rock Perdy was having this year, they'd be saying
he's the MVP because that's what happened last year, right, absolutely,
Like that's like, that's what happened last year.
Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
They'd be saying he's the MVP. Only difference is Sam
Donald's twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
But I don't know. I don't feel him like you do.
Though I don't.
Speaker 4 (01:02:20):
I don't feel I don't. I just think it's like
it's one of those teams. And I agree with you
if this is Rock Purdy, we're talking about his MVP.
But every year, in every sport, there's always this enigma
team that comes out of nowhere and they have this
great record, but you don't really think that they're a
super Bowl contender, like they have a legitimate shot to
beat the other teams in their conference and get to
(01:02:43):
the Promised Land. No one thinks Minnesota has that shot
except for their fan base.
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
Right, It's true.
Speaker 6 (01:02:49):
But I think the only thing I would would push
back on is that we don't know that then JJ
McCarthy is gonna be any different. We don't even know
that he's gonna be better worse. The saying is like
you have a bow in Sam Donald or do you
want what's behind you know, mystery door number two, which
could even be a boat.
Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
Well, that's the rough part is as it really depends
on what you project forward, right, because if you think
that Sam Donald will continue on.
Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
This path, then you have to pay him.
Speaker 4 (01:03:18):
If you think that Sam Donald, you know, falls down,
Like what's JJ McCarthy's best case scenario, because it might
be this Now, if that's the case, then you gotta
go JJ because he's cheaper, right, you get it cheaper.
Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
At least the last three years.
Speaker 4 (01:03:32):
There's noe with the excuse me, with the draft the
way it is, I'm watching Quinn you were, and Carson's
beck the same way y'all are.
Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
Carson's beck arm is danglin like silly Puddy right now in.
Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
The first day in place, all right, I'm looking at
these Will Howards and Dylan Gabriels the same way everybody
else is. And there's only one crown jewel in the
draft this year at quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
And that crown jewel wouldn't have been as crowned of
a jewel.
Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
In prior years, right, I think like, like, but when
you look at your door, now, that's the answer. Everybody
else is signing a free agent, and if everybody else
is signing a free agent, then Sam Donald's gonna be
on top of the list. And if that's the case,
Sam Donald is definitely gonna make more than Baker Mayfield
and KRK Cussins did in their free agent.
Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
Deal really quick. And I know we got to go
to Steve when we come back here, we tell it.
I like what you just said, where was should dour
be last year?
Speaker 3 (01:04:21):
Well? Right, six guys went in the top twelve. Where
was shr door to fit?
Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
And we've seen we've seen what they've done, right, We've
seen what these rookies have done this year.
Speaker 3 (01:04:30):
Wow, where was your door that went last year? You're
a seventh quarterback?
Speaker 5 (01:04:34):
Take it?
Speaker 4 (01:04:35):
Where are these guys better than them? No, but he's
also not the first. We'll talk about that in just
a minute. But coming up right now, Steve Seger.
Speaker 8 (01:04:43):
Two minute warning at Ohio State. And yes, we can
call it that.
Speaker 9 (01:04:46):
The Buckeyes are leading Tennessee twenty one to three late
in the first half.
Speaker 8 (01:04:50):
There's no rules.
Speaker 9 (01:04:51):
This is the United States. We can call it a
two minute warning. It doesn't have to be called a timeout.
Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
People. My thing was, it's the two minute warning.
Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
Since the beginning of the two minute warning, and now
becau you want to try to make it new and fresh.
Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
No, it's mayonnaise. It's not il men.
Speaker 6 (01:05:04):
In black suits. Just time and grab Steve and pull
them out of the room.
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
It is aoli. There's a difference between mayonnaise and aoli.
Go ahead, Steve.
Speaker 9 (01:05:11):
Sorry, I do understand the warning part for the NFL
because literally the rules of the sport.
Speaker 8 (01:05:16):
Change for the last two minutes.
Speaker 9 (01:05:17):
Sir, Yes, Nonetheless, it's a warning that we're nearly at halftime.
Also kind of like the warning track you're almost about to.
Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
Hit the wall.
Speaker 8 (01:05:25):
Good one, thank you very much.
Speaker 9 (01:05:27):
Ohio State dominated the first quarter against Tennessee. Keep in
mind fourth quarter against rival Michigan they gained ten yards
and allowed over one hundred, and then the first quarter
against Tennessee. Well, let's just say it was different than
that because on the first three drives tonight it was
three touchdowns for Ohio State. First time they'd opened a
game like that since they played Western Michigan very early
(01:05:50):
in the season.
Speaker 8 (01:05:51):
This isn't Western Michigan.
Speaker 9 (01:05:53):
They're playing, but it is a twenty one to three
lead late first half against Tennessee. In the first quarter,
the buck Guys outgained the balls two hundred five yards
to sixteen. It tied for the most lopsided playoff first
quarter in college football since Alabama blitzed Oklahoma in the
Orange Bowl of twenty eighteen. Earlier, we had first round
(01:06:13):
wins for Texas and Penn State at home. Five seed
Texas eliminated Clemson thirty eight twenty four. Texas led thirty
one to ten in the third quarter. Penn State all
over SMU thirty eight to ten. It was twenty eight
nothing at the half. We had two NFL games today
At Kansas City, the Chiefs beat the Texans twenty seven
to nineteen, and Houston wide receiver Tankdale, who had six
(01:06:33):
catches ninety eight yards, was hurt on a touchdown reception.
Dell As hospitalized with a serious knee injury, including a
dislocated kneecap. At Baltimore, the Ravens beat the rival Steelers
thirty four seventeen. Derrick Henry twenty four carries one hundred
and sixty two yards.
Speaker 8 (01:06:49):
Pittsburgh for the moment.
Speaker 9 (01:06:50):
Does still own the three seed in the AFC due
to better conference record. The Ravens have clinched a playoff spot.
Baltimore running back Justice Hill left with a concussion. Saints
back Alvin Kamara out with a groin injury. Monday, New
Orleans at Green Bay for the Packers, tight end Luke
Musgrave is questionable for the game with an ankle injury.
Baseball Hall of Famer Ricky Henderson passed away at the
(01:07:11):
age of sixty five. The Yankees agreed to a one
year deal with first baseman Paul Goldschmidt. The Diamondbacks acquired
All star first baseman Josh Naylor from Cleveland. The Guardian
signed first baseman Carlos Santana. Among the twelve NBA games,
the Lakers were winners at Sacramento one oh three ninety nine,
Lebron James thirty two points currently in the final seconds.
(01:07:32):
At Orlando Cole Anthony with thirty three points in the magic,
leading Miami one seventeen to one fourteen. In college hoops,
a double header at Madison Square Garden, North Carolina came
back to beat number eighteen UCLA seventy six seventy four.
Ohio State upset number four Kentucky eighty five sixty five,
and there is a top ten battle in women's college
hoops going on Fox TV right now. USC is still
(01:07:55):
leading at Connecticut sixty two fifty four with about seven
and a half min minutes to go. Juju Watkins of
SC with nineteen points under two minutes to play first half.
In Ohio State and College football, the playoff there in
Columbus twenty one three Buckeys over the balls back to.
Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
You, thanks Steve. Football fans.
Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
We started to tune in Fox Sports Radio every Sunday morning,
beginning at ten am Eastern seven am PUS. If it
were Countdown and Kickoff presented by Bett mgm.
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Lord, have Mercy Wild States up here? Hitting boy? Whoa
oh my good?
Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
Interrupted the ree Brian No, Jeff Schwartz a professional better,
Bill Krackenberger, Like that linebacker just cracked that Tennessee tight
end trying to make the first down catch?
Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
Well, have you covered three out before kickoff?
Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
Every Sunday morning, listening to Countdown and Kickoff presented by
Bet MGM right now on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app Third and six for Tennessee one thirty nine
left in the first half. Here, this is a you've
got to get at leaf the first down here.
Speaker 4 (01:08:54):
Yeah, they have to possess the ball to and I
think you gotta go put seven on the board right here.
This needs to be twenty one to ten going into
the half. I think that completetion is going to give
him the first down to give them the four progress.
Yet what a reference running and where the yellow line
is is good to go here. You gotta get seven here, Martin,
you gotta get this thing's got to be twenty one three.
Like listen, they weather the storm, if you want to
(01:09:15):
use that term, the weather, the store being on the road,
being in front of one hundred thousand on the road
in the cold, in a hostile environment.
Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Go get some points here. Keep this game.
Speaker 4 (01:09:24):
We know Ohio State has the the track record of
getting big up on people and then losing their edge
and letting teams back into these games.
Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
Quick.
Speaker 4 (01:09:36):
Shout out to you, gay what I want to get
on to You know me, Man, I'm always pushing the
show and pumping the show. We got some new listeners
texting me listening right now, man talking about I'm there
talking about me saying the word bestie. Shout out to
the cold Jenkins out there in Jersey, Man, Jersey showing
us some love North Jersey man new listeners to the show,
and h Mario, would you ever take your shirt off
and do it outside for toughness man, for a sport?
Speaker 3 (01:09:58):
Or is this just Martin to talking? But when you
were younger would you to pull this move? Take a
shirt off? And Nicole showed that you know, I'm good,
I'm ready.
Speaker 4 (01:10:05):
Ab Absolutely not, by no stretch of the imagination.
Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
Would it ever even come close.
Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
And it's not like I had. I had plenty of
opportunity at the University of Michigan. It was cold by
October and you know what I just did added close.
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (01:10:21):
So you asked where would Shador Sanders be drafted in
this drafts up coming? I think he would have been
the third quarterback off the board, so behind oh so,
but in front of May. So you got him in
front of Drake, but you got him behind. Actually think so, Caleb.
Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
I think I think that if if this is gonna
sound stupid because it didn't play out this way, but
I think that Jayden and Daniels would have gone after
the three of them, Caleb, Drake, May, Shador Sanders, and
then Jayden and Daniels in that order, I think Shador
would probably be a commander.
Speaker 3 (01:10:52):
Washington. Okay, I would have had shad Door because the.
Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
Reason I say that, I think Caleb still would have
been the presumptive first off world. We can't think if
you're in if you're in a scenario where you're evaluating
these guys off what they're Jayden is obviously super accurate,
super fast, but was very slight. Drake May bigger, fast
as well, not quite accurate. Shadoor slower than both of
those guys. Accurate, not quite the athlete in terms of
(01:11:19):
the way that those guys can get out and run.
Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
You expect those guys to get out of run a
little bit more so.
Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
I think somebody would have fell in love with the
pocket passery thing of Shador, and.
Speaker 3 (01:11:27):
Then that's how it would have played out. Patriot, Yeah,
Patriots took took him. Patrin had the second pick, correct,
the Patriots of the third. Okay, so Jayden went second.
Speaker 6 (01:11:36):
Wait, so I'm I'm confused.
Speaker 2 (01:11:38):
So I think that it would have been I think
that Shador would have been a commander. I think Cliff,
you think it.
Speaker 6 (01:11:42):
Would have been the second quarterback off the board.
Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
Yes, but I would have had him ranked. I would
have had him ranked as the third. I would have
had I would have had Caleb.
Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
And Drake, then Shador, then Jayden, than Penix and Knicks.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
I like Chador and two to the Commanders. But then
I think that pushes Jayden back to fourth because I
still think.
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
The Patriots take May and third. That's what that's what okay,
Oh yeah, that's it would have pushed out now.
Speaker 4 (01:12:08):
And I'll tell you this now because when you get
the five guys, remember now, when you get the five
five didn't need a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:12:13):
I think it pushes Daniels back.
Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
Now we can go back to Mark's favorite topic, and
that's the Atlanta Falcons at eight because you might be
sitting there looking at do we take Panix, do we
take Jayde and Daniels?
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
Well, I don't think Daniels would have got past Vegas.
Speaker 6 (01:12:27):
Yeah, you gotta remember he was coming off a heisman
with like historic numbers.
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
Well also to Vegas would have been smart and took him.
They didn't quarterbacks, they take it everything. It was very
widely reported the connection between Antonio Pierce and Jayde and
Daniels were in on him, and.
Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
I think I think if I don't think he would
have fallen past there.
Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
Okay, let's see a tennis he gets in the end
zone here before we go to break, third and two
forty two seconds left on the game clock. As they
run the option, Nico takes it up the middle. That's
gonna be a first down. We'll see if they're able
to eventually punch this one. Then we'll have that one
for you and the game of who you Got after
the break. Martin Wis's Vija Husky Fox Sports Football Saturday.
Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
Martin and VJ coming to you live from Tyraq dot
com Studios.
Speaker 2 (01:13:06):
You want to hit us up with your two cents
on Twitter? You feel free, are ex I'm at Martin Wise.
Vj's at the Big Vanilla Funny Tennis. He did score
a touchdown there, so it is ten twenty one to
ten the margin.
Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
As Ohio State gets.
Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
Across midfield, Travon Henderson to about the thirty five yard line.
We'll see what Ohio Say does here with this next
five seconds. But in the meantime, forty six field goal.
Let's play a quick game with who you got.
Speaker 7 (01:13:29):
It's not rocketside who we just want to know.
Speaker 3 (01:13:33):
Just answer the questions who you got, all right?
Speaker 6 (01:13:37):
Who you got this week is Giants Versus Falcons edition.
So for listeners no, so for listeners who don't know
how this game works. Thinking of No, I'm thinking of
a player, or a coach, or an executive or some
just some person who has something to do with you,
the Giants or the Falcons organization.
Speaker 3 (01:13:54):
Okay, I'm gonna give you clues.
Speaker 6 (01:13:55):
Each clue is supposed to help make it a little
bit easier. Let's get started. First clue, you know what.
Hold on, I'm gonna write a name down.
Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
If this is the right name, I'm not going to
ruin it, but I'm gonna be like Ian that's embarrassing.
Go ahead, Okay, I want to do one too. I'm
writing the name down too, though.
Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
Why won't you just guess it? Because I don't want
to run? All right.
Speaker 6 (01:14:16):
He's played for three different franchises in his NFL career,
starting a total of one hundred and eleven games over
nine years. I'm not saying whether he's still active or not.
Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
All right, nine years. I'll use a good player the
team Nicks.
Speaker 6 (01:14:31):
No, Chris Chandler No, all right, Next clue. His first
career sack came against Tom Brady.
Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
She's your defensive end or defensive player, I should say,
how about to say ye?
Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
Different franchises, one hundred eleven stars for nine years.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
His first sack was against Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
As Ohio State misses the fifty six yard field goal.
Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
I told you, I told you just one thing I
had to go wrong. U three?
Speaker 6 (01:15:01):
Uh, Morton Anderson incorrect kick or Brady Michael Strahan no incorrect?
Good guesses though I forgot all right?
Speaker 3 (01:15:13):
Next clue.
Speaker 6 (01:15:14):
He played college football at William Penn University, where he
was recruited to while working at Walmart Kurt Warner No,
good guess though, I remember he was recruited to.
Speaker 4 (01:15:25):
Uh, he was football as he was stalking grocer.
Speaker 6 (01:15:28):
You can't see that movie American Underdog? What?
Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
I can't believe I missed it? He was all right, No,
it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
I was gonna say the movie sock you got? Oh man, God,
I'm blaking Eugene Robinson.
Speaker 6 (01:15:46):
Nope, all right, tweet at us. Also if you have guesses.
So next he went undrafted out of college, ultimately signing
as an undrafted free agent.
Speaker 4 (01:15:55):
Well, if he went to William Penn and he was
working at Walmart before. It's no shot to me that
he was undrafted. He I think this guy was probably
flying under the radar. Uh, this is a good one
draft somebody with Somebody's gotta have traits. This is a
defensive end.
Speaker 6 (01:16:11):
I'm feeling he was a one time first team No,
one time first team All Pro, and it was for
one of these two teams.
Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
He's played for three franchises. Remember you see is the
name that he meant to say? Plus you, Jason Paulo,
you call me no? All right?
Speaker 6 (01:16:34):
Another clear this is gonna help make it easier.
Speaker 3 (01:16:36):
I think.
Speaker 6 (01:16:37):
While wildly or while widely considered one of the top
run stuffers of his era, he only has eleven career.
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
Sacks Giants, Falcons run I know, Nope.
Speaker 3 (01:16:49):
Abram no, next clue. Yeah, okay, so he's a defensive.
Speaker 6 (01:16:57):
Tackle by Rex Ryan. He was dubbed Snacks, a name
that's stuck throughout his entire career.
Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
Oh oh, oh god, I know you talked about it.
This is the Giants player.
Speaker 5 (01:17:06):
It's not.
Speaker 3 (01:17:07):
He's the Giants player and they but they called him
Snacks so much.
Speaker 6 (01:17:10):
I forgot his I forgot except the nickname with his
last names, Robinson snow snacks.
Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
Johnson, you're so cool.
Speaker 4 (01:17:19):
Snack Smith snats, Joseph snacks James. I think Indiana Jones snacks, snacks, Snacks, snacks, snacks.
Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
Milwaukee snacks. Harrison.
Speaker 4 (01:17:31):
I was thinking Harris, Yeah, Max Harrison, defensive tackle, Damon Yeah,
Damon Harrison, Damon snacks Harrison.
Speaker 3 (01:17:41):
Man. Yeah, that was a tough one. That that was good. Bro,
you got it. You won this week.
Speaker 10 (01:17:45):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
We didn't get it. We didn't guess it. You got it, man.
Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
I like how I eliminated linebackers and corners and safeties
after well, if a guy got up on.
Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
William Penny was undrafted, he had to be big as
ll hell yeah, it had to be off something.
Speaker 4 (01:17:59):
And the fact that had eleven sacks, that's another thing.
And then you said run Stoffer. So you're saying run Stuffer.
That means okay, he's he's he's the and Terry Liman
good one man.
Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
Michael Penix finished by Monday. Will Michael Penix be one
and oh or on one as the starter roundtable?
Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
Who they play again? The Giants? That's what we just do.
That's right? Oh no, no, no, all one the Giants
on one. He's a one on one. He listen, guys,
he's a rookie. He's a rookie.
Speaker 4 (01:18:26):
Guys, he ain't seeing this yet in preseason. Okay, he
ain't seen this yet. Those are steel pros. There's a
still those are still pro guys over there. You think
they want some rookie coming in and tearing them up
with the season that they're having.
Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
No, it is a little where you see.
Speaker 6 (01:18:40):
You see Kyle Pitts's reaction, he kind of added, like,
you know, I just work here. I don't know how
the decisions are made. It's not like this is some
unanimously below No.
Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
No, it's not. And it never And that's the thing.
That's what's so great about football.
Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
That never is.
Speaker 4 (01:18:53):
And that's why being in the locker room is so
cool because you you get a sense of stuff from guys. Man,
they don't have to say it in body language, like
you said, Hey, listen, that's above my piger. I remember Lebron
Jays a few weeks ago. I grew whatever whatever coach said.
That's what I say. That's what I think that you know,
these things happen all the time. Of course, it's not universal.
There's probably in the locker room not like Kirk right,
(01:19:15):
and then there's people in the locker room like, dude,
we still got a chance to win a division.
Speaker 3 (01:19:17):
You gonna throw rookie in or I think maybe you
gonna throw rookie in right now.
Speaker 6 (01:19:20):
That's part of it too. Yeah, it's disrespectful to have
Kirk in there.
Speaker 2 (01:19:23):
I think that was the bigger thing. It's like, after
which interception? Was it the right one to pull them?
Speaker 7 (01:19:28):
Was it?
Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
One? Four? Oh and five? Oh and six? And Penix
want to oh on one?
Speaker 6 (01:19:35):
I got one to know just because the sparkle'll provide it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
You think it's you think? I think it does. It does.
Speaker 6 (01:19:40):
It's just something different. It's just something different.
Speaker 3 (01:19:43):
He's gonna see things tomorrow he's never seen in this
football life. It's the Giants too. There doesn't matter. That's
still throws over there doesn't matter, all right, So let's
see Martin. What is Pennix owing one? I want to know?
I got them all, I got them all. Find out
in just a minute.
Speaker 1 (01:19:57):
You don't listen to Fox Sports for Go Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
That's what we're broadcasting live from the tire rack dot
com studios tire iraq dot com. We'll help you get
there with an unmaxed selection fast for shipping feriod as
a protection, and over ten thousand recommended.
Speaker 3 (01:20:13):
His dollars tire iraq dot com. So where that tire
buying should be.
Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
We had some games earlier today in the NFL, but
now let's go ahead and take a look thought and
drive and take a look towards tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:20:26):
It's time for the atomic dogs.
Speaker 7 (01:20:31):
They may be me they may be ugly, but it's
time to open a case because these dogs are gonna
keep barking if they don't get fat and they're hungry.
Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
It's time for the atomic dogs.
Speaker 6 (01:20:58):
All right, atomic dogs. Just update from last week.
Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
Let's go.
Speaker 6 (01:21:02):
You both went oh and three, so it was a
tough week, but that's okay. It made my job easy.
I was out last week.
Speaker 4 (01:21:07):
Oh and three week though this whole year. That's my
first owing three weeks.
Speaker 6 (01:21:10):
So I'm not gonna like youj That's impressive. That's impressive
because we're picking outright underdogs.
Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
I'm trying to remember talking about I don't think any
underdog went out right lt. I remember only like two
of the whole slate one outright in general, So tough slid.
Speaker 3 (01:21:25):
That's cool. I'll take was I owing three? You were
both owing three? Hell yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:21:30):
So again my job easy, so senergy. Anyway, let's get
to the week sixteen picks. What do we think?
Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
Who's your first time again?
Speaker 5 (01:21:38):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:21:38):
My first one, man is I'm gonna just keep riding
my guy because that's my due and my man be
why they're at home because I kind of want you
all to put away Martin's Cardinals and put them out
of their misery. Hey man, In the last eighteen on
the road, the Cardinals are four and fourteen and Panthers
are four and one.
Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
Verse Zona in their last five and their last eleven
against the spread.
Speaker 2 (01:21:58):
Their Panthers are four and one. Again, Sara's gonna calling
this the last five. What did they play every five years?
Speaker 4 (01:22:02):
I don't know, but that's just what the number factors
have only won two. Well care, I got a new years. Well,
maybe you'll like this one. They're eight and three in
the last eleven against Arizona gets the spread. You love
that against the spread stuff, So give me my man,
b Wash, give it to me to take out the Cardinals.
Canceled the Cardinals off the game against the Rams got flexed.
(01:22:24):
The next Saturday night, so I can't cover the damn game.
I gotta be here with Mark. So I need the Cardinals.
I need the Panthers to do this for me. Give
me the Panthers five point underdogs to pull off the
upset and send the Cardinals pack in and getting ready
for the offseason. The last time all of those six
games the Cardinals played the Panthers, Cam Newton was probably
the quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:22:43):
I don't care. There's been four different coaches, right, I
didn't make the number up, all right? I take the
Tennessee Titans over the Dianapolis Colts.
Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
Indie Levens playoff dreams deaded by Nation Rudolph. This Titans
team is not nearly as bad as their record is.
They're coach super fired up this week talking about these
guys are tough efforts.
Speaker 3 (01:23:03):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
I thought that was my favorite code from the NFL season.
These guys are some tough efforts right there. Give me
Brian Callahan and the tenne Tides to get their fourth
one of the year.
Speaker 4 (01:23:11):
All right, man, I got a couple of toss ups here.
I actually have five of them today, but I'll just
pick three of.
Speaker 3 (01:23:16):
Them my second one. You know what, I'm gonna do.
Speaker 4 (01:23:18):
I just talked about them. Ir just talked about them.
But they have been winning in the regular season. Don't
know what they're doing the playoffs. The Minnesota Vikers are
in the Great Pacific Northwest playing the Seattle Seahawks as a.
Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
Three point underdog tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:23:31):
Give me Minnesota to kind of keep this thing going
where they've been winning these games and we may not
believe in them because when they still got a shot
at guys, they still got a shot at the North
Division up there in the NFC North and to win
the division to get a.
Speaker 3 (01:23:44):
Whole playoff game.
Speaker 4 (01:23:45):
Give me the Vikings up there, even though against Minnesaul
against the Seahawks, I mean, no, no, no, I thought, I'm sorry,
I thought the Seahawks WI favorite by three minute and
I reading that Nope, Oh well, then you know what
the wrong one.
Speaker 3 (01:23:56):
I'll make a real quick change. Cowboys plus four home
take it over the Bucks. Give me that when it's
an underdall Cowboys are actual underdogs. I'll flip around.
Speaker 2 (01:24:04):
Take the Seattle Seahawks the Seattle se I's gonna go
ahead and beat those Minnesota Vikings out right.
Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
I like that. Love the three points.
Speaker 2 (01:24:09):
It's at home on the road, Sam Darnold, I don't
think it's coming, guys. We've waited for the like the
other shoe to drop, whatever the clock to strike midnight.
Maybe it's just frozen in time like that Twilight Zone episode.
But it's not happening. But I still think that Seattle
is gonna be able to move the ball to this
Minnesota defense. Gimmicky, gim me JSN and Kenneth Walker to
(01:24:29):
run through Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (01:24:31):
Last week was not good in Texas for my knee.
I me Dolphins, my man ooh so gave it away
three times.
Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
It happens.
Speaker 4 (01:24:41):
He's been really good taking care of the ball. Last
week was just winning the game. Still had a shot
to win that game down the stretch. They have to
went out to have a shot at the playoffs with
some other things to go, and I think that starts tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
There are one point underdog at home.
Speaker 4 (01:24:53):
I like the twenty four or four in the last
twenty six one home on a Sunday. What's tomorrow Sunday
playing at home. I know they got to beat up
Niners in warners Beck and he looks good, and I
know they missed that guy. But I think Oos in
the offense gets.
Speaker 3 (01:25:04):
Back on track.
Speaker 4 (01:25:05):
I know no Jaylen Waddle, possibly Toron. I know you
still DOUBTFI don't know he's out. Look for my league
Washington on some quick screens and get the ball and
want some jet sweeks to get his speed in the
open field.
Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
We're good at home.
Speaker 4 (01:25:17):
Give me the Dolphins at one point underdog to upset
the San Francisco forty nine ers as my third and
final no heer.
Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
All right, guys, listen, only sprinkle it, only sprinkle it.
Speaker 4 (01:25:30):
But if it does, all those Christmas presents will be
paid off. Going with the New Orleans Saints against the
Green Bay Oh Wow Today Night football.
Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
Wow point underdogs. Listen. They may not win, but they
are definitely going to cover.
Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
And I definitely did not want to end to throw
this out as one of the games in our competition
because I know he's gonna stake here.
Speaker 3 (01:25:50):
The last team to close.
Speaker 4 (01:25:51):
Thirteen at higher on Monday Night Football came last year
when Vj's Miami Dolphins closed thirteen and a half lost
out right to the Texans, who were terrible that year.
Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
In fact, the last two teams to close that thirteen
point favorites are higher or more than night football lost
out right with VJ Dolphins last year and the Steelers
in twenty twenty two against the Cincinnati Bengals. Since twenty twelve,
favorites of favorites of more than two touchdowns one seven
and one against the spread they failed to cover by
(01:26:20):
over a touchdown. Give me this double digit, double digit
favorites more th night football in the last twenty years.
Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
That's sizable. Twenty years. Absolutely, ten, twenty six and two.
Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
Everybody in America is gonna have a parlay that had
some level of chiefs and then it's gonna have some
game tomorrow and it's gonna have the Green Bay Packers
against the terrible New Orleans Saints, and that's what exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:26:44):
What is going to be. It's going to cook everybody
in Let's get wow. Okay, I'm not mad at that
one real quick though.
Speaker 5 (01:26:52):
Man.
Speaker 6 (01:26:53):
Okay, good call on not not letting me get it
going to that Packers game. I did want to give
you guys that one with the big fourteen point spread.
But luckily there is another game with a fourteen point spread,
and it is the Bills versus the Patriots. The Bills
are favored by two touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (01:27:08):
Over New England. What do we think?
Speaker 4 (01:27:10):
And I was gonna I'm glad you went to this
one first because I was gonna ask Martin about that
because Martin, myself and also Berdie Frattle, I don't like
division double point spreads. This is division game. I know
that Patriots don't have a letter playing for absolutely nothing.
And the Bills are riding high right now with the
points they've been able to put up.
Speaker 3 (01:27:27):
In the last two weeks.
Speaker 4 (01:27:28):
Although albeit they lost one of those games scoring forty points.
They come back down and they put a forty burger
on the lines and that defense and end up winning
this game. And I think they're probably smelling and filling
themselves a lot. We're talking about Josh Sodeners, the MVP.
This Patriots team is tough and play defense. Drake May
gets running around, makes a few throws here and there.
Speaker 3 (01:27:46):
I think they definitely cover.
Speaker 4 (01:27:48):
I think the Bills win, but I know I'm not
taking the fourteen points. I don't take divisional double digit
score spreads.
Speaker 3 (01:27:54):
Give me the Patriots to cover this tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:27:56):
You know, this Bills team gave up twenty one points
to Kansas City, forty four to the Rams exactly, and
forty two to the line. Uh huh, now completely skipped
over the San Francisco game. I know, sorry, but uh,
in the last three that's been pretty last three to
the last four, that's been pretty rough.
Speaker 3 (01:28:16):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:28:16):
I'm gonna go ahead and take New England who VJ
said theyre not planning for anything. I disagree. They're playing
for their jobs right now, like these got. This is
not a franchise that's done. But girod Mayo needs to
show a little improvement here to really solidify himself. Drake
made the same.
Speaker 3 (01:28:31):
Give me this in a game in which is gonna
be Cole's gonna be Rainy's gonna be messed up. It's
all Northeastern weather. It'll be closer than fourteen.
Speaker 1 (01:28:37):
Now.
Speaker 6 (01:28:37):
Actually, before we get to the next pick, I forgot
to update the scores. Last week, Martin you went three
and two, VJ you went two and three, So because
you were tied. Now Martin has a one game lead,
still super close anyone's game, but the record Martin's at
forty one and twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (01:28:52):
Veja is forty and twenty eight.
Speaker 6 (01:28:55):
Close this year, we'll do it a smoke, both of
us will smoke it right now, all right, next one
we got. We've talked a lot about this game today,
but let's log the picks. Officially here, the Falcons are
favored by nine points over the Giants.
Speaker 3 (01:29:06):
What do we think happens. I'm taking the Giants to cover.
They will not win, but they will cover this game
on a useless.
Speaker 2 (01:29:14):
Field goal or a safety something stupid, because.
Speaker 3 (01:29:19):
That's what's gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (01:29:19):
Because rookie quarterbacks, while they win often, especially this year,
the only one that covers the spread is bow knicks.
The rest of them not so much. Give me the
Giants here to cover too, man, I think they show up.
It's indoors, so it's not the elements. I think that
does and it's gonna be home. I think that does
help Michael Penntons, but I think it also helps the
Giants too. You get out of that Northeast, come down
(01:29:40):
to Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (01:29:41):
Easton waffle House, go to Gladys Knight.
Speaker 4 (01:29:43):
Sofood restaurant, and they go play a competitive football game
and see if you can keep this I think.
Speaker 3 (01:29:48):
I think they can keep this thing close. Maybe go
to the restaurant after the game. That might be a
heavy pregame meal. We'll not pregame.
Speaker 4 (01:29:54):
But the night you fly in this stuff may may
you'd be surprised with some of these guys'd I see it?
I'm close to personal. That's crazy. Give me the Times
the covers tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
I like this. I like this nine points spread, all right.
Speaker 6 (01:30:03):
Next up is the Detroit Lions facing off against the
Chicago Bears. The spread is six and a half points
in favor of the Lions.
Speaker 2 (01:30:09):
What do you guys think, I'm going right back to
the well. I maybe I'm just blind to it. It's
amazing that sometimes I think about, how like, not even
to pat myself on the back, how good my record
is with the ideas.
Speaker 4 (01:30:20):
I just do some boneheaded things like I'm taking the
Bears right here plus seven. Taking the Bears right here
plus seven. Why I can't give you a good.
Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
Reason besides the Lions injuries and I think that division game,
keep it close.
Speaker 3 (01:30:33):
The Bears have been trying, they've been getting No, they
haven't been getting any better. I'm lying them.
Speaker 4 (01:30:37):
I can't even tell myself into that. Lions have too
many defensive injuries. The Bears have to figure it out eventually.
I'll take seventy No David Montgomery either something I know
my fantasy team Morns. I need to I need to
make up a game on mart and I'll do it
with his hometown right here. I'll give me the Lions here,
give me the line, give me the Lions here to
cover he got. I think they're that offense, like they
scored forty something points. Like this defense is not going
(01:30:58):
to stop that offense. That defense is big, but this
defense is worn down trying.
Speaker 3 (01:31:02):
To keep the off keep the game so close all
year long.
Speaker 4 (01:31:05):
They cale Coo somehow work some magic at the end
and try to win them a football game that just
runs out. As you get to this point and season.
The Lions were embarrassed last week and all the talk
is they're injuries. They don't have this guy, they don't
have that guy.
Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
This guy.
Speaker 4 (01:31:16):
This is what Dad Campbell lives for. You want to
be the underdog, buddy, You want to be the guy
in the corner.
Speaker 3 (01:31:21):
Here's your perfect opportunity. I think they come out and smoke.
Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
The Bears and Soldier Field and kind of put themselves back.
Remember they're still fight for that one seed in the NFC.
I think they want it. Give me the Lions here
to win this game. I think they smoke the Bears tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
All right.
Speaker 6 (01:31:35):
Next up the Philadelphia Eagles. They're surgeon right now. They're
going to Washington to face the Commanders. Even though they're
the the away team, they're favored by three and a
half points.
Speaker 8 (01:31:44):
So what do we think.
Speaker 3 (01:31:45):
I was real close to making Washington one of my dogs.
Speaker 2 (01:31:47):
I think the Commanders cover here, and I think we
start to see, like I think all of that drama
that was covered up by that band aid but press
conference last week in Philly, it all comes right back out.
You should have waited longer before you participated in football activities,
after your stitches, after the stitches, trying to stitch all
that situation back.
Speaker 4 (01:32:07):
I love this Eagles teams number one defensive football, number
one against the pass, number seventh against the run, oh
on the offensive side, six ring offense, number one in
the rush, number nine in scoring. Those things all travel
very well in the NFL, even in a division game.
Get me the Eagles in this game and they covered
his three and a half point.
Speaker 3 (01:32:25):
This is nothing for them. They get this game tomorrow,
all right.
Speaker 6 (01:32:27):
Last one, we got the Los Angeles Rams, traveling two
MetLife Stadium to face my Jets. Rams are favored by
three points. Stop laughing. What are you laughing at?
Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
Just how proud you are?
Speaker 6 (01:32:40):
So you think I'm proud to be a Jets fan.
I think I'm proud to be a Jets fan right now.
Nothing can be farther from the truth. But Rams favored
by three What do.
Speaker 4 (01:32:48):
We say the last time that we had like a
big Jets athletic Dana Roussini, Mike silver expose. I remember
reading and thinking, how are the Jets gonna play this week?
Speaker 3 (01:32:58):
But they were on by.
Speaker 4 (01:33:00):
They gotta play this week, though I don't know who's
called the plays, brick Jack. You know what I'm saying
is Ian calling the place from x factor dot com?
Speaker 3 (01:33:09):
He could you know what I'm saying, I've been the
fact of GM.
Speaker 2 (01:33:12):
Yeah, who's gonna be the backup running back? Because I
hear that's where they get all they get all the
info from Jets x factor dot com. I have to
take the Rams here because I think the Rams are
a better team, better coach, better quarterback, but also just
better story, right, better story.
Speaker 4 (01:33:27):
The Rams are a better team right now. They're poison
to win a division. This is a big game and
it's interconference, so They're not even playing a NFC opponent
to make up room there anything. They're definitely gonna go
get this dub this three point thing.
Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
I thought the.
Speaker 4 (01:33:39):
Jets kind of left everything they had last weekend that
comeback against Jackson and see, you know, to go get
that win.
Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
I thought, okay, they topped out right there.
Speaker 4 (01:33:47):
I think they come back down to earth at home
and Nicole Rams go out there, run the football with
Karen Williams and those guys, getting Blake Korn some I'm
actually going Stafford makes the player two and they pulled
this off at win by four.
Speaker 3 (01:33:56):
Bottom of the hour, we'll have JD.
Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
Pakel on three College Football Insider for Fox Sports Radio.
You know you work the hard count on YouTube. Will
have him on at the bottom of the hour to
break down these first round of the college football playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:34:09):
Which are getting a little interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:34:12):
I tried to warn you guys if one thing went wrong,
and it looks like it might have. All right, somebody
call it doctor Martin whys Vida Husky, Fox Sports Radio
Martin wise Vjo Husky on a Fox Sports Football Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
Oh I let's stay with the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:34:37):
With an eleven point lead, ten forty five left in
the third quarter. Coming to your Life from the ti
iraq dot com studios.
Speaker 3 (01:34:44):
You can follow us on Twitter and tweet the show.
Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
I'm at Martin wiss Vj's at Big Vanilla Funny. I'm
also on Blue Sky at Martin Wi the new Twitter.
Oh and it's called blue Sky Welcome to six months ago.
Speaker 4 (01:35:00):
Oh wow, you know that's not my you know that's
not my department. Man, Yeah, though, but it's you try
to get me to do what's the what's the.
Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
What's the threat face? No threads? Yeah, you know, I'm good.
All right? Thanks? Oh god, go on there, man, it's gracious.
So you wanted to talk about the NBA ratings, Yeah,
go for it.
Speaker 4 (01:35:23):
Well, it's crazy because I think everybody's trying to blame
the product in product, the product. It's not the producting bows.
It's not the product, guys, it's it's the way the league.
In my opinion, it's just my own opinion from what
I've seen as far as the way radio, TV, especially
(01:35:43):
like TV shows, the debate style shows and things like that,
have talked about the NBA and my and my estimation,
I would say the last fifteen years where storylines and
what ifs and hypotheticals have ruled the conversations, and what's
actually happening within the sport is not being talked about.
(01:36:04):
And I feel this way strongly. Everyone in this business
has fans. Everyone in this business has people who think
they have no business being in our business, but either
or they hinge.
Speaker 3 (01:36:15):
On our word. Martin works with on the colony.
Speaker 4 (01:36:17):
He works a Collins show every day like the he's
the most propular guy in the ready is right, the
best guy out here doing it. There are people who
are literally listen to what he says, and whatever he's saying,
that's what they're going with. There are people that watch
these TV shows that do the same thing. Whatever this
person says, we're going with whatever. I've been in hundreds
of barbershops where they're yeah, well I like with such
and such said, and now yeah no, it's like, okay.
(01:36:37):
We shape the minds of the fans. So therefore, if
we're not talking about the actual game eighty percent of
the time, then they start to lose interest in the
actual game eighty percent of the time. And I think
that that's why you're starting to see because there's great story,
there's great things to talk about this year. Okay, s
he's for real. What's up with Minnesota? You got the
(01:37:00):
Lakers and Lebron, you got Embiid, you got em beat
out again. You got like, there's things to really talk
about as far as the game is going. Look what
Orlando's doing. That's a good story. Marx Houston Rockets. Right,
Look at look what you don't could coach? But that
man can flat out coach basketball. But if that's not
what's gonna be talked about that the fans really poured
(01:37:21):
to and watched before they get to the game, then
then they're gonna lose interest in the actual game when
the side show I say storylines aren't available. I think
that's why, because I think the product you and I
were talking this is one of the least you watched
this year. This is one of the years up to
this point where this is probably some of the most
NBA have watched over the last few years. Because I'm
(01:37:41):
just I'm watching the game. I think it's still a
good product on the court. If you take all the
the well, if he had this guy, or they had
this guy, or they need this guy, they need to
do this, or any instead of just talking about the
actual game.
Speaker 3 (01:37:54):
I think that's something that's hurting the viewership.
Speaker 4 (01:37:56):
I think the biggest thing that's hurting the viewership is
the idea that it's too hard to watch it.
Speaker 3 (01:38:02):
Really explain explain that. I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
I don't know where you're going with. Okay, so let's
say so, okay, so what's the king in sports viewership
is the NFL? Yes, and you have an NFL routine
most people in this country, wherever you are, you're going
to do. You wake up Sunday and do whatever, and
(01:38:24):
then whether one o'clock Eastern to ten am Pacific, you're
gonna sit down and you're gonna watch your team like
your day's planned. Well, you know what you're going to like.
Ian is a Jets fan. He lives in California. He's
going to watch the Jets right now. If the Jets
(01:38:44):
are on prime time.
Speaker 3 (01:38:46):
Cool. Maybe it's a red zone thing in that moment. Right.
Speaker 2 (01:38:50):
I'm a Saints fan. I was born in New Orleans.
I'm gonna watch the Saints now. There's a lot of
ways to do that. But I also know that all
their games, you know that all the games come in
a similar window. So when it's the big Sunday window,
the ten am or ten am Onela s Pacific window.
Speaker 3 (01:39:08):
I'm watching my team.
Speaker 2 (01:39:09):
If it's four twenty five, I'm probably watching my team
unless my team sucks, which it does, right excuse me,
which it does right now. And so now I'm watching
the better teams at four twenty five.
Speaker 4 (01:39:21):
Better game I'm watching than the ball watch the primetime games, okay, right, so,
but in the NBA, all of the games are the
primetime games.
Speaker 3 (01:39:31):
There's no level of I'm gonna watch my.
Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
Team play eighty two games or seventy five games. Like
here in LA there's Dodgers fans. They're gonna watch one
hundred and thirty Dodger go game.
Speaker 4 (01:39:45):
They will yeah, yeah, come hell or high water, the
team is good or bad.
Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
That's what the difference is in the NBA compared to
the other sports. In college football, you're watching your alma
mater and then you go and watch the big games
at night. In the NBA, all the games are at night.
All the games are at seven o'clock. There's nothing special
about them. Everything is like, why is this game against
(01:40:11):
the ball Golden State Minnesota tonight more special than what
Golden State's game will be on Thursday as a fan,
So what happens is you end up losing, and that
part of the way that the league is marketed, but
you end up losing people who are just fans of teams.
Like the idea that people who were like would go
(01:40:33):
from like see you go from.
Speaker 4 (01:40:34):
Cleveland to be a fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers to
then be a fan of the Miami Heat and then
be a fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers and then be
a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers in twenty years
is wild. And that doesn't happen unless you're following a
play around. I don't fault play people for being fans
of players, but much like in the NFL, I have
(01:40:57):
Patrick Maholmes, one of my favorite quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (01:40:59):
Ever, I have very little care whether the Chiefs win
or lose. I care greatly whether the Saints winn or lose.
Same way in the NBA.
Speaker 3 (01:41:07):
Don't. That's part of people our business thought.
Speaker 4 (01:41:09):
That's that's actually Kurt, that's actually kind of created that.
Speaker 2 (01:41:12):
No, I don't think that anybody in our business was
telling Jacksonville fans to go or to not go to
the Jaguars games.
Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
Like, you know what I'm saying. No one is saying.
No one is.
Speaker 4 (01:41:21):
In fact, if it was, if it was really this,
like if this was the big impetus, then big teams
like the Lions, teams like the Browns, they'd have no fans.
Football's different though we're talking the NBA. That's the players then,
But that's because people root for their teams instead of
rooting for players in the NBA. Either way, it's football season.
So I was goad to kick it over to Steve
(01:41:43):
the Seger for an updated of this college football playoff.
Speaker 3 (01:41:45):
Steve, you're up while.
Speaker 8 (01:41:47):
We are talking NBA.
Speaker 9 (01:41:49):
Well, let me first mention it's Ohio State twenty eight
ten over Tennessee mid third quarter.
Speaker 8 (01:41:53):
Details in a moment, But in the NBA.
Speaker 9 (01:41:56):
Boston's Jason Tatum with forty three points tonight in a
triple double easy win at Chicago. The Celtics are twenty
two and six, Cleveland twenty five and four after ripping Philadelphia.
Joel Embiid did not play, just returned last night wearing
a mask after the sinus fracture John Morana, the Grizzlies
out with a bad back as Memphis woned Atlanta for
the Hawks. Trey Young was out with a bruised heel.
(01:42:17):
Orlando and Utah with wins. Milwaukee beat Washington won twelve
one oh one. Damian Lillard of Milwaukee was out again
with a string calf. Jannisan Tenacumpo out with backspasms, though
he played yesterday. Bobby Portis thirty four points in the win.
New York got thirty nine points from Jalen Brunson and
a victory at New Orleans. Pelicans have lost six in
(01:42:38):
a row. Wins for Utah, Orlando, and the Lakers, who
won at Sacramento one oh three ninety nine Lebron James.
Speaker 8 (01:42:44):
Thirty two points.
Speaker 9 (01:42:45):
Golden State is tied with nine minutes to go at
Minnesota eighty two eighty two. Spurs are up ninety five
seventy five against the Portland Trailblazers. Victor wimbin Yama so
far with ten block shots to go with thirty points
in San Antonio, and the Mavericks are leading the Clippers
ninety five eighty three mid fourth quarter, by the way.
(01:43:06):
For Phoenix, guard Devin Booker, out at least two games
with a groin injury Detroit, he's leading mid third quarter
at Phoenix eighty five seventy six. Details on the college
football playoff. To end the first round at Ohio State,
the buck Guys on the first three drives tonight had
three touchdowns led Tennessee twenty one to nothing.
Speaker 8 (01:43:24):
The yardage advantage.
Speaker 9 (01:43:25):
At the time was one ninety one to minus eighteen.
The lead for the home team was twenty one three
just before the half twenty eight ten. Now Will Howard
two hundred and eighty three yards passing two touchdowns one interception,
while the team has two eighty three through the air.
It's only about eighty three yards passing for the Tennessee balls.
(01:43:45):
Each team with a ten to two record. Number one
ranked Oregon is off until it's Rose Bowl quarterfinal against
the winner of this game, if.
Speaker 8 (01:43:53):
It's Ohio State.
Speaker 9 (01:43:54):
Keep in mind the Buck Guys played at Oregon in
mid October and lost to the Ducks thirty two to
thirty one. This has eliminated Clemson thirty eight to twenty four.
The Longhorns now go to the Peach Bowl on New
Year's against Arizona State. As for Penn State, they're off
to face Boise State next on New Year's Eve in
the Fiesta Bowl. Penn State at home eliminated SMU thirty
eight to ten. There were two NFL games today at
(01:44:17):
Kansas City. The Chiefs beat Houston twenty seven to nineteen,
but Texans wide receiver Tank Dell is hospitalized now with
a serious knee injury, including a reported dislocated kneecap. That
Baltimore Ravens over the Steelers thirty four to seventeen. Derreck
Henry twenty four carries one hundred and sixty two yards.
Pittsburgh does still for now own the three seed in
the AFC due to better conference record, but the Ravens
(01:44:40):
with the victory at least clinched a playoff spot. Saints
running back Alvin Kamara is out due to a groin entry.
As Monday, New Orleans will be at Green Bay. Baseball
Hall of famer Rickey Henderson passed away at the age
of sixty five. And in women's college hoops on Fox
TV tonight, Number seven USC a winner at fourth ranked
Yukon seventy two to seventy juju Wi Pupkins twenty five points.
(01:45:01):
Heavyweight boxing champ Alexander Usig still undefeated after winning a
unanimous decision in Saudi Abrabia against Tyson Fury.
Speaker 4 (01:45:09):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin vide coming to you
live from he tire rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 2 (01:45:14):
Without further adue. Let's go ahead and get our next
guest in here.
Speaker 4 (01:45:18):
You know him as the Magic Bishop Juan Don of
college football.
Speaker 3 (01:45:22):
That's right, j D. Piquel, JD. How are you, my friend?
Speaker 5 (01:45:26):
I'm doing great, man, I'm doing great. This has been
a wild day, to say the league's results, man, But
I'm fine on talking talking about with y'all.
Speaker 4 (01:45:34):
All I know is after three years of having this
time slot and hearing people bitch and moan about how
the fifth team couldn't get in, now that we got
all twelve, everybody's super happy with all the people who
made the playoff, right, JD. The results of the game
aren't having any impact on the decisions of the committee
(01:45:55):
of the way that people feel about him, right JD.
Speaker 5 (01:45:58):
So I think I've talked to some coworkers about this,
and this is kind of where I land on this.
It is not fair to say, well, South Carolina would
have kept it closer, would they have? Like probably Alabama
almost sure, they probably have kept it closer with any
number of these teams right, But the issue here isn't
that those teams were left out. The issue is we
(01:46:19):
have a system here where we have a twelve team
playoff where I don't know the last time Martin where
twelve teams legitimately had a chance to win the national championship.
And so with that being the case, now, I'm like,
okay watching these games and this, I mean, will there
be a year where a five me to twelve and
a six you know, loses to it or twelve meet
to five is eleven me to six? Like sure, But
(01:46:41):
we've got this system in place now where it's not
actually about the twelve best teams first of all. The
second of all, we have a situation where we're going
to see a lot of these results in the first
round because the gap is so wide when it comes
to the talent. So a lot of thoughts on this,
but it's fun. I'm here for more football, but like,
I don't think it's like what for the sport quote unquote,
as we were all supported would.
Speaker 3 (01:47:02):
Be all right, well, JD.
Speaker 4 (01:47:03):
I started it, okay, and I'm gonna finish it right
now because I didn't like what I saw last night
and I didn't like what I saw this morning, and
I've never been this guy.
Speaker 3 (01:47:11):
I've never been to Oh this team would have or this.
Speaker 4 (01:47:14):
But when you get the picks like ten, eleven and twelve,
I'm fine if the committee says, you know what, damn it.
Speaker 3 (01:47:22):
We're gonna give them.
Speaker 4 (01:47:23):
We're gonna give them stars, We're gonna give them the
big names, give me the big brand. Oh you're gonna
send SMU. Okay, did you see they look like against Clipson? Yeah, late, late,
late game run. Okay, But did you see what they
look like against Clipson Indiana when they had to play
the big boys this year?
Speaker 3 (01:47:37):
You saw what they look like.
Speaker 4 (01:47:38):
They get on the field with a big boy last
night and got mopped off the field. Am I wrong
for saying, no, give me Shador, give me coach Prime,
give me the Heisman Trophy winner? If they're right on
the cuss to be twelve over SMU and you threw it.
You threw Ole missing not even talking about them earlier.
But change change my mind, JD. Or do you kind
of feel how I feel?
Speaker 5 (01:48:00):
How you feel? I think I feel I feel two ways.
I think I'm more upset with Ole miss of like gosh,
dang itt be Kentucky, like you like, help all of
us in be Kentucky so we don't have to watch this.
I think my first feeling, my second feeling is I
think it's fair for us to to use a little
bit of the common sense here because I think all
of us kind of had a feeling like, I don't know, man,
(01:48:20):
Indiana the lost Ohio State's let me feeling great. It's
tough to talk my way through a situation where SMU
gets left out or where Indiana gets left out because
of how they finished the regular season and like you know,
Indiana's only bloomers was to a top three, top five
Ohio State. I think where we could have maybe exercised
some better judgment is if SMU fell off the wagon
(01:48:42):
and looks the way they looks in the first half
and the second half of gets pumps in and then
it's like, well, hey, actually, now, SMU, in their one
game where they played somebody, they got blown out, Like
it's tough because there wasn't any like real legs to
stand on from an argument perspective of, like had this
happened in this game, so therefore we can't put them
in over a South Carolina or a ole mess, But
(01:49:03):
I do think it is fair. Like people are gonna
hate to hear this. I understand that you get called bias,
get called oh, you get called a shill whatever. Like
the SEC and the Big Ten are on a different
level than the ACC in the Big twelve, like they
just they are, And so until we can arrive at
that same agreement, like we're gonna keep evaluating these records
in a different way where it's like, hey, eleven and
one in the ACC is arguably maybe on par as
(01:49:27):
good as a ten and two in the Big Ten
or nine and three in the SEC. I understand how
that sounds, but I understand how it looks to people
if you're a Big twelve or an EIGHTHP fan, But like,
just the caliber of play is so vastly different, and.
Speaker 3 (01:49:40):
We're seeing they cancel the damn conference. Is they just
blow them all up and.
Speaker 4 (01:49:44):
Just play like the NFL just have the Eastern Conference
and the Western Conference. Are the NFC and the AFC
are the land grand schools versus the private universities, Because
what's the damn point of doing any of it?
Speaker 3 (01:49:55):
Then?
Speaker 2 (01:49:55):
What's the point if you can lose two three games
of the regular season and other team loses no games.
It's the same argument that we've had for the entirety
of college football.
Speaker 4 (01:50:05):
When you got Scott Froston, you see f saying we're
the real national champions because.
Speaker 3 (01:50:09):
Who could say they're not. I'm just saying, what JD.
What's the whole damn point? Then that's my question.
Speaker 5 (01:50:18):
That's a that's a very fair question. I think some
of it too goes to, Okay, well, the games have
to matter, got to have the games matter. One I
do think how you look at the games also have
to matter. Like I think when when Indiana gets the
doors blown off against Ohio State, like, hey, maybe that's
a data point. Hey if they go to the again
it's a lot hypothetical, but they go to the Big
(01:50:39):
Ten championship, but they get blown out by an Oregan
or blown out by appen Zator, blown out by data.
It's like, Okay, you shouldn't get punished losing your championship game.
But you also now, in two separate spots, have shown
us that when you play someone of playoff caliber, like
you're not even on the same playing field. So it's
a it's a very roundabout and tricky and imperfect system
(01:50:59):
at this point time. I mean, here's something I'll say
to y'all. I'd be fine with us just having a
different committee in general, which is a thankless job. I mean,
you lose by being on that committee in general. But
I'm like, would we not all sleep better at night
if we had Nick Saban Joel Klaut on the committee
as opposed to a coach who was a coach ten
years ago an athletic director, And like, I don't think
(01:51:20):
we have like real football people making these selections. I
also don't think we need autobitch. I think if you're
give me your twelve best team, then we can be
good to go from there. Like Clemson back dooring in
doesn't make a lot of sense to even when we
have them ranked like what fifteen complection Sunday, that's not
twelve best team. That's they won their call. Friends, good
for them, but they're not a twelve best team. If
you win your car.
Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
Works.
Speaker 2 (01:51:42):
That's not the way the playoffs work in any league,
like the if the if the AL least has five teams,
all five teams are win ninety games, somebody from the
AL central in the AL, they're still getting in like
there's gonna be a playoff representative from the NFC West.
The NFC North should have three teams in. It might
not happen. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. You guys make me sick.
Speaker 3 (01:52:05):
VJ. You ask them a question.
Speaker 4 (01:52:06):
Yeah, because I want to stick with this Indiana thing
because you're hear you, You're like, you know, hey, they didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:52:11):
They didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:52:11):
They didn't show up against o'his state. They got mopped
against o'his state. Let's not forget the Michigan game. They
scored three points in the second half against a team
that was playing their fourth quarterback for the year. Okay,
so when they've got on the field with the big boys,
all right, they've struggled. You didn't need today, you didn't
need last night. And last night was just utterly embarrassing.
Nor Dion Day punched them in the mouth over and
(01:52:33):
over and that was a physical beating and it would
show if they played any of these echelanty.
Speaker 3 (01:52:38):
They've had a cute year and I'm not trying to
down it, but we need to get rid of these
schools that have these little years and it's like, okay.
Speaker 4 (01:52:46):
Well, Notre Dame might not have been in good no,
they had a good little year and they lost to
Northern Illinois.
Speaker 3 (01:52:51):
I don't want to hear it exactly when Northern Illinois
played a big boy. Let's put that out here. When
the turn that's that's silly, that's silly. That's silly right there.
Speaker 4 (01:52:59):
But I do have a real question for you, Georgia
Norda Dane, Am I crazy for early?
Speaker 3 (01:53:04):
Right now? Lean in Nordo Dame.
Speaker 5 (01:53:07):
You're not crazy at all. You're not crazy at all.
I mean, we don't know what Gunnar Stockton is gonna
be now. I still have a very difficult time looking
at a curbys Maart coach team right twenty four days
of rep with that defense and how the offense looked
and not picking them. But it's not like I mean, look,
the line in Vegas right now is one and a
half favoring George for it to be that against the
(01:53:27):
team that lost to a G five team early in
the year, who has a quarterback that hasn't thrown over
two hundred and fifty yards once this year? Ryan Leonard like,
I don't wow. I don't think it's crazy at all.
And again, the whole, the whole variable, this thing hinges
on is like, what do you get offensively with Gunner Stockton?
The one thing I will say with George and is
from the pedigree talk like a as fun as the
(01:53:49):
conversation was around Carson Beek coming into the year and
you know he's got all these tools and you know
he's gotten out of your experience whatever, Like was Georgia
getting like what B minus quarter all year long? Like
we're ever winning games? Because Carson Beck was just like, no, no, man,
you know so I think a Gunner stalkings B minus
like it's kind of a wash. I think Georda probably
(01:54:11):
feels good about their chances.
Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
Well, Carson Beca like was the most notable quarterback I
should say with interceptions A top like. There were some
other guys I'd never heard of, but Carson Beck was
right there atop the college football standings in terms of interceptions.
Speaker 3 (01:54:24):
All right, JD. Last one.
Speaker 4 (01:54:25):
We know Texas is playing in Arizona State, we know
Penn State, Boise State, we don't know to Dame Georgia,
we don't know who's playing Oregon. Give me a prediction
for the next four of these games. We're gonna see
just moleywop Ass whoopings like we've seen here or will
they be closer thirty seconds?
Speaker 5 (01:54:41):
They will be very chalky. There will be a close
game between Ohio State Oregon. The rest will be over
by the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:54:48):
Woo, all right, we'll talk to you next week. See
just right, you are all right? J D appreciated. Merry
Christmas to you, the kid and the wife. Man have
a good way.
Speaker 3 (01:54:56):
Merry Christmas. Yes, sir, talk to you again next week.
That's JDP.
Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
But cal catch him on the hard count. That's on YouTube.
The best thing about YouTube can get in whenever you want.
Speaker 4 (01:55:06):
You can go right now. Wait, we got another segment.
Go after that better than the NBA. Huh apparent Maybe
that's what they need to do. Put the NBA on YouTube.
With this on YouTube too. Shortly after show our podcasts,
we'll be going up. You missed any today's show, be
sure to check out the podcast might just search Fox
Sports Radio wherever you get them.
Speaker 3 (01:55:22):
Podcast man. Also be sure to follow, rate and review
the podcast.
Speaker 2 (01:55:26):
Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your and
you'll see this show posted right after we get off
the air. Eighteen point lead for Ohio State is Will
Howard drops back and throws.
Speaker 4 (01:55:34):
The other completion. These wide receivers are too good. They
are they are way too good. But again, this is
the type of thing I'm talking about. Carnell Tate just
caught that ball. In a few years, Carnell Tate won't
stay at Ohio State.
Speaker 2 (01:55:46):
He'll be playing somewhere else because because there'll be a
new freshman in front of them coming up next.
Speaker 3 (01:55:51):
We'll do we'd like to tell the future a little
bit here. We'll do by this time next week.
Speaker 4 (01:55:54):
Martin Whit's Vida Husky Fox Sports Football Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:55:59):
Yeah, I know we're back. Art and White's Vida Husky
Fox Sports Radio. Not everything it is for the radio.
I had to get it out. We only got like
three minutes left. My bad. This Christmas show. If people
want to listen to Christmas.
Speaker 4 (01:56:08):
Music anyway, it's not like they want to watch this
college football playoff.
Speaker 3 (01:56:12):
I know that's for sure. Because everybody's all anybody does
is bitch about it.
Speaker 2 (01:56:16):
Jad comes on here as college football, threw it through,
played at Cornell and Baylor.
Speaker 3 (01:56:20):
I thought he was going to be locked in. Now
he's bitching about it too, everybody.
Speaker 4 (01:56:22):
I told you guys, he was with me. I don't
want ten eleven twelve going and getting your feelings. Give
us the best, give us the I mean, let's just
call it what it is. But whatever, ridiculous, ridiculous. Oh
just people just want something to complain about.
Speaker 3 (01:56:36):
That's all.
Speaker 4 (01:56:36):
That's all I could tell, as far as I can tell,
that's the life we live.
Speaker 3 (01:56:40):
If it's blue, it should be green. If it's green,
it should be read. Oh you like Christmas. I like Thanksgiving.
That's what everybody's saying about this college. For Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Oh it's Christmas by a landslide. And Christmas and Thanksgiving
it's easily Christmas. Yeah, I'm what you guy. I'm just
asking that. Some people may say Halloween.
Speaker 4 (01:56:59):
I don't think Halloween's a big thing, but I've seen
people go ridiculous for Halloween.
Speaker 2 (01:57:02):
But family holidays goes Christmas, Thanksgiving, fun holidays, Halloween.
Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
Fourth of July.
Speaker 2 (01:57:09):
Let's go ahead and do Memorial Day by this time
next week. Depends on where you are, that's right, by
this time next week. We try to go ahead and
predict the future just a little bit. I'll go ahead
and step out on the limb. I said it earlier today.
I still believe it to be true. By this time
next week, Kirk Cousins will be sitting on the couch
with his feet up.
Speaker 3 (01:57:26):
He will not be on the bench for the Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 4 (01:57:29):
By this time next week, the University of North Carolina
tours football program will flip a top fifty recruit.
Speaker 3 (01:57:36):
That has not signed a letter of intent just yet.
Speaker 2 (01:57:39):
By this time next week, we will have the same
exact thing that we saw this year's college football playoff or.
Speaker 3 (01:57:45):
This first round.
Speaker 2 (01:57:46):
Rather just ass kickings boom, boom, boom, we won't see
a close game to the championship.
Speaker 3 (01:57:51):
By this time next week, it will be a unanimous.
Speaker 4 (01:57:53):
Topic that the Philadelphia Eagles are the NFL's best football team.
Speaker 3 (01:57:58):
All right, I'll go in the same bang. By this
time next week, it'll also be a very talked about topic.
Ian's point the Cincinnati Bengals playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:58:06):
Joe Burrow MVP. I'm telling you that's it's gonna be
talked about. Give it Wednesday. It's gonna be a Wednesday topic.
Speaker 3 (01:58:16):
Okay, we'll see.
Speaker 4 (01:58:17):
I'm gonna keep eye on them. I thought that was
a good one. By this time next week, I think
it will be a solid thumbs up that the Oklahoma City.
Speaker 3 (01:58:25):
Thunder are unanimously the best team.
Speaker 4 (01:58:28):
This week Wizards, Pacers, Hornets, they go zero and three
and put their stamp on being the best.
Speaker 3 (01:58:34):
Team so far in the NBA this season.
Speaker 2 (01:58:36):
By this time next week, the Green Bay Packers will
