thousand recommended installers ti iraq dot com. The way tire
(00:28):
buying should be well, MANTSI. We don't have to wait
much longer. Tomorrow's the big day, Super Bowl fifty nine
between the Chiefs and the Eagles. By the way, a
little programming reminder here at Fox Sports Radio tomorrow the
show that you and I and Rich and Bo and
Chris all put together our Red Zone Radio the morson
(00:51):
too Fox Football Sunday normally a four hour show begins
ten am on the West Coast one pm on the
East coast. It's gonna be five hours. Basically, we are
going to lead you all the way into the start
of the game. We're pretty close to the start of
the game, so we're very excited about that. You know,
we got a lot of things to talk about right now.
(01:12):
We're going to be joined by Mark Medina or Fox
Sports Radio NBA Insider about this incredible trade. Then we
got into talking about that was crazy that we were like,
you know, we had a you know, basically a previous
show for the Super Bowl, Like what just happened. Anthony
Davis did play by the way today, played great for
Dallas and then he got hurt. So we'll get an
(01:32):
update on his situation. And of course, Luca is expected
to make his Lakers debut on Monday, as they play
one of the worst teams in the If you're going
to have a debut, the Utah Jazz is a really
good team to debut against.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
So if you are.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Going to change your entire TV schedule around, maybe confirm
that before you do that. ESPN because it screwed over
college basketball, like they were gonna, you know, move the
Indiana Pacers Lakers game, and they did. They moved everyone around,
and then Luca's not playing, right and now Lebron is
not playing. So you have this game that's gonna be
(02:06):
on ESPN, No Lebron, no Luca, Lakers and Pacers amazing right.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Now, Lakers winning a game by fifteen points. Yeah, even
with everyone pretty much sitting out this game. The Lakers
are significantly better than any By the way, yesterday I
did a TV interview with Laker legend Derek Fisher. Yeah.
Of course, after his playing career was over, he coached
briefly with the Knicks and he went to the La
Sparks of the WNBA. He's now coaching high school basketball
(02:35):
in the LA area. His son was on the team,
and his step sons, the sons of Matt Barnes, the twins,
they're on his team right now. But it was interesting
talking to him about the Lakers situation and you know,
the idea of being a first year coach like JJ Reddick.
I mean, it was a similar situation in the terms
of when d Fish got the nixt job, he had
(02:55):
zero coaching experience. Of course, that didn't go well for
him there, but he says he's very rest by what
JJ Reddick has done. But he also admitted having to
change midstream, especially when your team's playing well. Yeah, and
you're losing someone as dynamic as Anthony Davis, certainly on
the defensive end, so it's a process. Plus, remember Luke
(03:15):
hasn't played at all since Christmas Day, so he said,
you know, be patient. There's plenty of time. But yeah,
when you're in the middle of a season and you're
trying to put all the pieces together and all of
a sudden, somebody flips a switch and now you've got
to restart in the middle of the season. Even with
a player as great as Luca, it can be a challenge.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
I was at the Lakers Clippers game at Into It Dome.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
I went with Bree.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
We went and we listened to JJ Reddick before and
they asked him about the trade and he's like, it's
very difficult to say if a trade is going to
work right then and there. Well, well know in a
year whether this trade worked out, but it's really difficult
to say it right now.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Whether it was a good trade.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Obviously they're looking forward to it, but he even said,
you know, we're in mourning and we're happy, but we're
in morning because of losing eighty.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
But he said that right.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Before them, He's like, it's impossible to know right now
how good the trade really is.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Well, I agree with you, and you know, who knows.
Maybe they'll maybe it'll click immediately and they'll figure this
whole thing out. My guess is, hey, again. He hasn't
played since Christmas Day. Okay, so he's been off for
a while. So the idea that he's going to come back,
I mean, watch, he'll put up fifty points probably some
crazy like that. He's certainly capable of doing that. Does
(04:30):
have a chip on his shoulder right now, he does.
He does. By the way, your Clippers just signed Ben Simmons.
You know what, I and I don't hate it.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Am I crazy?
Speaker 4 (04:38):
I feel like he can actually maybe help us out
in the holes that we have Ben Simmons.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Here's the thing. Obviously, he's a very offensively challenged place rightly,
but we don't need him to score. He doesn't take
any three point shot.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
That's fine.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
But he's really good on the defensive end. Yeah, and
he's a big guard. He's a matchup ar He's a
really big guard. So you know that's a pretty good
could play for him.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
All right.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Well, speaking of what's going on around the NBA, joining
us right now, as he so graciously does well whenever
Montsy asked him, I mean that's pretty much what happens.
Here is our NBA insider here at Fox Sports Radio,
Mark Medina. Mark. Obviously we've been talking about what is
going to happen with the big debut of who I
(05:24):
did bet you U Luka Doncic And and here's the thing.
Yesterday I was talking to an old buddy of ours,
Derek Fisher, who's coaching now at Crespy High School of
all places, about this situation, and he said, look, I
mean you got to be fair to JJ Reddick in
the sense that you are literally flipping the switch in
the middle of the season. You lose one of the
(05:45):
best two way big men in the league. You obviously
gain a superstar in Luka Doncic, but making it all
work and immediately could be a challenge. So what's your
sense of maybe the biggest challenges facing the Lakers Lebron
James and company and getting the most as quickly as
possible from Luka Dancic.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
Yes, Steve, a lot of good things you and Derek
Fisher unpacked. I think that the main things to look
for to look for that are going to be challenging
are two things. One, how to become a good defensive
team without Anthony Davis. Even with Davis there, but in
defensive Player of the Year type highlights, they weren't really
a good defensive team. They don't have great perimeters. That's
(06:28):
number one. Number two, what are the right roster combinations
around Luka Doncic. I think the obvious question that I've
certainly asked JJ Reddick and Lebron James and others have
as well, is what's the dynamic going to be like
with Lebron and Luca? And yes, things take time, but
the expectation is that's going to be established very quickly
(06:49):
because a they're both really talented stars, and B I
don't think there's going to be as much of a
pushbull on how to divide ball handling duties as Lebron
had with Russell Westbrook Indiangral Russell for a simple reason,
Luca Doctors just substantially a better player than either of.
Speaker 6 (07:06):
Those two players.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
But even when you take that new account that Lebron
and Luke are expected to hit the ground running, all
the other parts out line the defense and the rest
of the supporting cast that could be a work in
progress the rest of the season.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Mark, thanks for joining us. I know you're a busy
man right now, so we appreciate it. Another big trade
that happened was Jimmy Butler to the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
How did that come about?
Speaker 4 (07:33):
Because originally didn't he say he didn't want to sign
an extension. There the Warriors really want Kevin Durant and
then Durant said he didn't want a reunion.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
What more can you tell us as to how that
went down?
Speaker 5 (07:43):
Well, Montse I think it was desperation meets desperation. Jimmy
Butler was running, but it was desperation where you know,
both sides can benefit from this. Jimmy Butler's got an extension,
he got paid here, He's on a team that still
is pretty good and make a deep playoff push the Warriors.
They ran out of options, but at the same time
(08:04):
they were able to thread that needle by that sweet spot. Yes,
they will have to give up a lot to get
Jimmy Butler. That included Andrew Wiggins, a first round pick,
and some role players, but they still cut their young core.
They still have two draft picks. So you know, when
I was at the Warriors Lakers game when Jimmy Butler
did his introductory press conference, their expectation is they can
(08:27):
win an NBA championship. I think that's strong because they're
eleventh in the West right now. But I think it's
their argument that you have Steph Curry on your team,
you have Raymond Green on your team, you have Jimmy
Butler on your team. Those are three dynamic players and
they all compliment each other well because Steph's still shooting well.
Jimmy Butler gives them additional scoring help in things that
(08:47):
Steph doesn't do. Jimmy Butler's a mid range guys drives
to the basket. Steph Curry takes care of the threes.
Raymond and Jimmy Butler are very fiery competitors that a
lot of guys I talked to a lot of interesting
blow up moments in practice. But it's not going to
be like Draymond and Jordan Poole and other teammates because
(09:08):
Draymond likes guys that have that same kind of competitive
edge and that can go toe to toe. So I
think because of that, they feel like they can make
a push and they could be one of those teams
that no one wants to see in the first round.
But bottom line, Monts it's still the Oklahoma City Thunder
in the rest of the field because of how great
Shag Gilgris Alexander is and how deep that roster is
(09:31):
completely all right.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Let's get back to the Mavericks situation. So there's a
lot of speculation floating out that the Addamlson family wants
the Mavericks out of Dallas and they want to move
into Vegas. The guy that has been really quiet since
all of this came down as Adam Silver, Like, where
is the guy? I mean, I mean, where is the guy?
(09:53):
I look, I knew David Stern, And first of all,
Stern would never have allowed the way this one down.
It was just there was just a cloud of mystery
that he would not have been comfortable with. But Adam
Silver is completely out of the mix. But do you
buy into the idea that the ownership of the Mavericks
(10:14):
is literally trying to dismantle a franchise if I'm not correct?
Did they not offer refunds to the fans after the trade?
I mean it's like, really, are they purposely trying to
dump on Dallas to make it easier to make a
move to Las Vegas, where obviously their family resides. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
Well, actions always speak louder than words, so it's hard
to know what's going to happen. But I will just
give you my take. I don't see any scenario where
they'll relocate, because if they were to try to do that,
the NBA would not allow it. They're in the expansion business,
not the relocation business now, or they're driving forces on
(10:56):
the new ownership influencing this trade very well, because Mark
Cuban had been on record that he would never allow
Luka Doncic to get traded, so much that if he
had to choose between divorcing his wife or trading Luka Doncic,
he would become single number two. Niko Harrison's that is
(11:16):
a huge element as well. He was a GM that
is fairly new, and he wasn't the guy who drackted Luca,
and so sometimes the gms want to have their fingerprints
on who the guy is.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Now.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
The excuses that we're pedaling out that they want to
be a defensive oriented team or they were concerned about
Luka Doncic's conditioning, it just doesn't lie.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
Well with me.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
Here's why. Yes, I do believe in the old adage
that defense wins championships, but in the modern NBA you
can produce enough offense to offset that, and Luka Doocich
is a generational star number two, even if he is
not going to be considered the guy who is mister
ironman who keeps himself in tiptop shape. He's still an
All NBA player. He carried him to the finals last year,
(12:01):
and he's twenty five years old. A lot of times
NBA stars don't take care of their body until they
actually have to. You know, Kobe Bryant was a maniacal competitor,
but he admitted two years after he scored eighty one
points in two thousand and six that his pregame diet
that day was Temperoni pizza and grape soda. So what
I'm getting at is Luca Doctric is just starting his
(12:22):
career and I think that he can therefore learn better habits. Now,
how this applies to the Lakers. He's with Lebron James,
he takes care of his body. Well, there's obviously the
pressure with being with the Lakers because it's what they represent,
but they're also open for having their training staff work
with his trainer so that there can be more fine
(12:43):
tuning with his body and his training habits.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
You know, it's just hard to believe that somebody would
be willing to let go of Luca because he doesn't
look like Lebron James when you went to the finals
last year. It makes no sense to me, Mark, like,
I don't believe it. There's got more to the story
that we don't know. But up to the MAVs today,
Anthony Davis his debut and he has a.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Non contact injury in the third quarter. Do you know
anything more about that?
Speaker 5 (13:15):
Yes, Jason Kidd, for what it's worth, after the game
said that he thinks he'll be okay. But it's a
huge copyat because they haven't done any medicals yet. This
is a huge concern because we saw Anthony Davis miss
five games last week with the abdominal injury. I'm going
to make it clear here, even though he has an
injury history, he has been a lot more durable than
(13:36):
twenty twenty three when they went to the West Finals
with the Lakers. But his injury history is what it is,
and so when you're trying to make an instant impact
on a Dallas Mavericks team whose fan base is very
upset that they lost their star player, this is terrible news,
especially when you look at how dominant he was playing
at the beginning of this game. He was showing what
(13:58):
makes Anthony Davis so great with hitting a lot of
shots both from the posts and the outside, being a
great facilitator, being a great defender. And I think the
one thing that we have to keep in mind is
that he could have a bigger impact on Dallas than
he had with the Lakers this season, only because their
roster depth. Dallas specifically has better three point shooters, has
(14:19):
more score So even though I thought ad was playing
at a reasonably high level this season, he could still
be in that upgrade for Dallas this season. But the
tie this all together on why I still don't think
it was good for Dallas to trade to make this
trade is that they're upside. It's really only this season,
maybe next season. And given the fact that I think
(14:40):
Oklahoma City has so much separation between themselves and everyone
else in the West, I just don't think that this
move will automatically thrust them into shift page of contention.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Well, bottom line here, the NBA did the unthinkable. They
actually gave reason for people to talk about the NBA
during Super Bowl War. I mean, now give it to him.
It was a very quiet, uneventful week in New Orleans.
Two teams that have been there, they were going to
make any big noise, obviously getting ready for the big game.
And so the NBA was actually able to seize the
(15:12):
moment and that doesn't happen and maybe that's why Adam
Silver just took a step back and said, yeah, let
this play out. You know, the Nico Harrison press conference
and all the crazin that's gone on, this has been
a big plus this week for the NBA. It's always
a plus to have this guy on. Mark Mendina. Mark,
we appreciate your time. Thank you so much, and we
(15:35):
will be calling on you a lot, if that's okay
with you again, Monci when she calls, I know you
take the call.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
Hey, Dave Monse it's a pleasure. And of course anytime
you all reach out to me, I will happily go

Speaker 2 (15:52):

don't people listen to me? Why don't people listen to me?
I gave you a story one week ago, guaranteed it
and it was ignored until it's like, oh damn, he
was right. We'll explain if you don't quite understand. This
(16:59):
is Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Steve Harman and Montsiblagos. Here Fox Football Saturday. We are
live from the Tirak dot Com studios. Apparently everything really
worked out well in New Orleans this week. Again we're
gonna have Dan Bayer, who's been there for Fox Sports Radio,
veteran of many Super Bowl weeks. But the weather cooperated
(17:34):
and security was tight, to say the least, after the
incident on New Year's Eve New Year's Day in New Orleans.
I was in New Orleans covering the Super Bowl in
two thousand and two, in the aftermath of nine to
eleven oof, and it was wow. You talk about security,
it was crazyville and so you know, but you got
(17:56):
to take care of it. I mean, it's it's it's
the biggest sporting event I obviously in this country every
single year. And after the incident they had earlier just
a month ago in New Orleans, it's good to hear
that they had security. So everything seems to be on
the up and up. We're gonna have much more obviously
on the game. But I have to mention.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
This, Yeah, you have to.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
So when I have when I go on the air
and I say I have inside information that you might
be interested in, I'm actually serious, Like I have inside information,
and so when it comes to the Pro Football Hall
(18:40):
of Fame, I have a connection that will tell me
in advance usually who actually is going in. Okay, now,
I will admit this. The last couple of years on
the air, I have made predictions on who the class
was going to be, and if you're checking the box,
(19:02):
I was right on every single person in the last
three years. And that was because I actually already knew
in advance.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Oh sneaky.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
But this year was different, so they changed the process.
You still had the same fifteen finalists, but instead of
what they do is and this is a virtual. It
used to be all in a meeting room the day
before the Super Bowl. Those days are over. So this
was actually done like three weeks ago, and they're on
a virtual the forty eight member committee and they're talking
(19:32):
you know this, and then they do a vote. So
it used to be you vote from fifteen to ten,
and then you vote again from ten to five, and
then all five of those people would actually make it. Okay,
this year they had a vote from fifteen to ten
and then ten to seven, with the idea that anywhere
between three and five of those seven would make it,
(19:55):
and I did not know who was going to make it,
but I also knew who had actually been cut, and
so I came on the air and said, one person
that has been eliminated is Eli Manning one hundred percent.
In fact, he was part of the very first cut.
He did not even make it to the ten. Really,
(20:16):
so the first five that were cut, he was among
the very first five. He was not a serious candidate.
So as the week went on and I'm reading, you know,
like a buddy like Adam Rank, a dear friend of mine,
and he's saying he's going to make it, I'm like, Adam, stop,
anybody that was on this, listen to me, Listen to me.
(20:40):
I already knew he was a limited I said it
on it, I said it right here. What do you
think I just I'm going to make up a story
like that. I'm not making up a story. I literally
told you that. I have it as a fact that
Eli Manning will not be in the Hall of Fame.
He missed the cut. So I mean, so for the future,
(21:04):
trust me on this subject matter. I know will hard
me wrong all the time, something like.
Speaker 8 (21:10):
This, I'm not wrong.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Sometimes I'm your picks. You're really wrong.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Those are my picks. Okay, that's not my insights. But
when I'm telling you about the Hall of Fame, I
have the results ahead of time. Now you may not
want to know the results. But that's why I didn't
offer up what other guys were cut. I couldn't give
you all. I knew all eight guys that have been eliminated.
I didn't mention any I just wanted to make sure
(21:34):
that people understood Eli Manning will not be part of
the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
That was That was the juicy one.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
That was a juicy one. That's the only one. And
all week lone kept saying about Eli Manning, I'm like it, and.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Then Peyton Manning, i think right before the show or
like during the show, was asked about it and Peyton
man was like, Eli already knows if he got internet.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
And then people took that as, oh, he's going.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
To be in, because why would Peyton Manning even say
anything about it, Like if it was a null, why
would he even say anything?
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Well, what was interesting One of the guys that hadd
to make the cut to seven was Tory Holt, and
Isaac Bruce came out saying the weight is over, so
that was one of the reasons I thought, well, because
I didn't know who got in. I had told you
I was pretty sure Antonio Gates was going to get in.
I also said Jared Allen. I was so thrilled for
(22:24):
Eric Allen, one of the super super people that I've
ever met in connection with the NFL. He had to
wait till his nineteenth year of eligibility. Great cornerback. I'm
so happy for him that he got in. But I
was surprised about the Tory Holt situation because I thought
Holt will probably get because there's like this, now understand this,
it's not good news for Eli coming up next year,
(22:46):
Drew Brees. There's an automatic, So two guys will be
first ballot next year, Larry Fitzgerald and Drew Brees automatic,
no questions asked. Philip Rivers is eligible next year, and
then the year after that, Ben Roethlisberger is eligible. And
so all this noise about Eli Manning, and by the way,
he's a great guy, Eli Manning, love love love him,
(23:06):
This is not gonna play out well for Eli. He's
going to be an afterthought for several years. Yeah, and
his name is just gonna linger for several years. So
I know there was a lot of noise this year
about first ballad. But you know, I'm not saying he
won't make the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
It's just gonna take a little bit.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Yeah, because if Brady's coming up and then Aaron Rodgers,
I mean, you know, so the eligibles are gonna show up.
So anyway, again, next time I talk Hall of Fame,
listen to me. All right, When I make a pick,
you can ignore it or bet the other weather away.
All right, let's find out what it's trending right now.
(23:44):
The guy that has been doing well as usual everything
everything today, he's co hosting, he's updating. He was a
little I guess disappointed. I wasn't in New Orleans, Martin.
I wasn't quite sure what was going on there. Let's, uh,
let's find out right now.
Speaker 8 (24:01):
I have two things first quickly, Yeah, and like in
a tweet length answer, Steve, is Eli Manning a Hall
of Fame?
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yes or no?
Speaker 8 (24:08):
That should Eli Manny be a Hall of Famer? Yes
or no?
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (24:12):
In my opinion, Yes, I don't think Eli Manning was
ever one of the elite quarterbacks of the NFL, not
even close.
Speaker 8 (24:19):
I'm here with you. I'm here with you.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
I mean, I mean again, but I have I'd say
a third of the guys in the Hall of Fame
I would take out. Oh, they're just doing to me.
You have to be, at some point of your career
one of the top one, two three players at your
position at some point if you are going to be
immortalized with a bust in Canton, Ohio, the whole you.
Speaker 8 (24:43):
Can tell the story. You can't tell the story of
the NFL. You know who You can tell the story
of the NFL without Nick Foles. He also beat Tom
Brady in a Super Bowl. Yeah he did, you know,
Yeah he did, so knock to ELI. But when you're
talking about the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Look, this is personal for me because Jim Plunket is
someone I know. I worked with Jim when I was
with the Raiders. He won two Super Bowls, both upset wins.
He got one Super Bowl MVP Award. He's never gotten
a sniff of the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 8 (25:11):
So the other thing, which is personal to Steve, which
is why I rolled my eyes at him, just because
when I was there at Glendale, Arizona two Super Bowls
ago and I'll tell you he's never been to Radio
Row if soom noo. Okay, so when you're there, it's
not as g and glorious as it once was according
to Steve. But Steve walks around Radio Row like he floats. Okay,
(25:37):
he walks around like he's just a big bat s
on his chest, can't do wrong. And so I have
to find out today Steve showed his opportunity to walk
around like George Jefferson walking into his apartment.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
I was shocked, honestly, Martin, you saw me and will
probably be my last appearance ever in what is now
called media Row.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
The only positive I love how Martin sets this up.
So Chris So, Chris Russo, mad Dog Russo, who I've
known for a long time, is someone that Martin wanted
to meet, and then I introduced him. And at that
point Martin wanted to eschew the idea of me being
part of the conversation. It was like, Okay, you introduced me.
(26:28):
It doesn't mean that you have to continue to.
Speaker 8 (26:30):
Steve all the time, exactly I was trying to. I
never got an opportunity to talk to Mad Dog Russo.
And this is before he was on ESPN right just
before he had his you know, the gen z TikTokers
found out. I was on YouTube watching Mike and the
Mad Dog back in the day. Great guy, I've taken
up a lot of your time. Here's the here's the row.
The Mavericks beat the Rockets one sixteen to one oh five.
(26:52):
Anthony Davis played thirty one minutes left with a non
contact injury.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (26:56):
They've yet to do imaging. We don't know what the
deal was. He did not return in the game.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (27:01):
This is his first game back from an abdominal injury.
Luca didn't play. Lakers right now thirteen one, thirteen to
one hundred over the Pacers with about five minutes eleven
or fourth quarter. Luca didn't play. Lebron was a late
scratch and Auburn lost to Florida, their number one team
in the nation.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Back to you guys, all right, man, thank you very much.
All right? Are we going to get h he's ready?
Is he ready to go?
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Ready to go?
Speaker 2 (27:23):
So you, like I said, I covered many Super Bowls
with this man. Is piling him up? Yes, over the years,
no question about that. Dan Buyer Johnny is right now
from New Orleans. How many Super Bowl weeks. Is this
for you now, Dan, over the years?
Speaker 6 (27:36):
So my first thought was super Bowl forty So that
was in Detroit, yep, and Steve was there. Myers got
mad at him because Steve was so loud. Yes, I'll
never forget that one.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
And that is a fact.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
That is a fact.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Yes, Yes, it's true. So without Super Bowl fifty five
because of COVID, and I didn't go to the game
in LA. But it's about seventeen or eighteen. But yeah,
probably about the last twenty years or so have been
at radio rope.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Yeah, and like I said, it's sort of more from
a radio road more to a media role. A lot
of podcasters. I mean, it's it really is a vision
of how the media has changed, certainly in covering sports
over the years. So, you know, Dan, from this end,
just as an outside observer, it seems like it's been
a pretty quiet week, which is predictable. With two teams
(28:26):
that know all about Super Bowl weeks, you know you're
not going to make any noise. It just seemed like
early in the week the one prevalent question was why
is everything fixed? For the Kansas City Chiefs. I saw
Goodell was asked that question. Chiefs players were asked that question,
what has been your take of any buzz at all
(28:47):
that has emanated out of New Orleans this week?
Speaker 6 (28:49):
Tom Brady even addressed that question and said it was ridiculous.
I don't think it's foreign that the stars in any
sport get called.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
They think that the whole East.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
Topic just kind of I don't want to they blew
out of proportion, but it just seems to always happen
and be in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs or
of Patrick Mahomes, especially in some of the biggest spots
that we've seen AFC Championship Game a couple of years
ago against the Bengals, when we saw it against the
Buffalo Bills and the fourth down call. But you know,
(29:21):
we do have to remember what happened when the Chiefs
were playing the Patriots and there's an offside call when
Kansas City could have had an opportunity to go to
the Super Bowl, and instead the Patriots drive stays alive
and they end up doing it. But yeah, you're right, Steve,
it wasn't dressed earlier in the week, but it's it's
kind of faded. What I find interesting in all of
(29:41):
this because I believe it, and I've read the articles
about Las Vegas and how the action there isn't as
big of a deal. It may not be a big
deal to you and me and Momsey and Martin and
everybody there and for a lot of the country, but
it's a big deal to Chiefs Eagles fans. And I
don't know if it's proximity wise where it's a more
doable trip than say Glendale, Arizona, or if you were
(30:05):
back out in La or wherever. There is a larger
contingent of actual Chiefs and Eagles fans here in New Orleans.
And it also made me because essentially located that I
have seen before. So that's kind of the story that
I kind of feel maybe hasn't been talked about as much.
Not that it's a great story, but the Chiefs getting
favorable calls was something that happened earlier in the week.
(30:26):
But I've been pretty impressed with the turnout of both
fans because it does seem like on a national scale,
we just aren't that interested in this matchup.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
That was actually going to be my question, Dan, because
everyone is saying that, oh, I'm not.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Into the Super Bowl, I'm bored. It's the same teams.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
It's not the teams that people necessarily wanted to see,
but you are seeing a lot of.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
People in New Orleans.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
I yes, okay, today I just was like everyone saying
they're not going to watch you. You feel like, no,
this is It is just as big of a Super
Bowl as any other year.
Speaker 6 (30:57):
Yeah, and I'm actually surprised Montie, because that's not a
would actually be dominated by Eagles the fans, because Kansas
cities just seem to, you know, be here so often. Yeah,
and again it's more convenient for you know, maybe for
their fans to be here. But Philly is really showing up.
And I don't know if it's just the strength of
their fan base, but everywhere you go, you just hear
(31:19):
go bird calls. And it's not meant to say that
there are more Eagles fans than Chiefs fans here, but
it has been really since Thursday, it's kind of been
a log jam. And we're centrally located. We're not in
the French Quarter, but we're on the other side of
it by the convention Center, where there's a lot of
restaurants and a lot of things going on. And I
even walked the French Quarter today and saw just as
(31:39):
many Eagles jerseys as Chiefs jerseys there. But you know,
for Philadelphia fans it would have been a no brainer
for them to come here. But I'm actually impressed for
the Chiefs who seem to make this an annual trip.
Speaker 8 (31:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
I mean one of the things I've talked about as
far as the Eagles are concerned, you know, because again
people just think, well, it's just fixed. You know, the
Chase are going to win this game somehow, whether it's
intentional or unintentional, will find a way. But there's a
big advantage to the Eagles having been there just two
years ago. You know that that's always an X factory.
(32:12):
Has the team been there? Are they overwhelmed by the
whole NFL experience. I don't know if you had a
chance to get anywhere near some of the players on
either of the team's dan But I think that that,
to me is a great equalizer in this matchup, the
fact that not only were the Eagles there two years ago,
but had it not been for a fluky fumble by
Jalen Hurts where he literally just drops the ball and
(32:34):
it bounces into the Chief's hands, and they run for
a touchdown. The Eagles could very well have won that game.
Speaker 6 (32:40):
Yeah, absolutely, and a late call that went in favor
of the Chiefs that allowed them to milk the clock,
So Harrison Butter could think that game winning figle. Again,
going back to the Chiefs getting all of the calls,
I think there's a sense of what you're saying that
is very true. The one thing that I would say,
and it's not a counter it's just more of adding
on to it, is the Eagles have a lot of
(33:03):
turnover on defense from the defense two years ago, so
there are a lot of new guys. But I'd be
more worried if that was the case on offense. And
Jalen Hurts actually played one of the better Super Bowls
that we've had two years ago for Philadelphia in that game.
I think he's kind of in a weird no win
situation in this contest unless he does what he did
two years ago in Arizona in that loss. But I
(33:24):
think offensively, you're right. The only one who is really
new to the scene is Saquon Barkley, and I think
that we all feel that he's going to show up
and do what he does. But on the offensive side
of the ball. I do think that that does help Philadelphia.
If it was the other way around, where he had
defensive guys and maybe new players on offense that maybe
think it was an issue. But I think you're right.
(33:46):
I think that does help Philly that that offensive unit
by and large has been at the Super Bowl before.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Dan, Before we let you go, who do you have winning?
Speaker 2 (33:54):
What is the score?
Speaker 6 (33:56):
Well, I do want to say, well, it's my eighteenth
or nineteenth super Bowl. It's also like my eighteenth or
nineteenth straight in the year of hearing the Steve Hartman
have started Radio Row story, So I was glad that
I got to hear that that street continues. Even though
I'm not with you guys in Los Angeles, it does
continue in twenty twenty five. I'm siding with the Eagles,
and it's a little bit of what Steve said. I
(34:17):
also think that Kansas City, every time they stepped on
the field this year, their defensive line was the best
unit that was on the field, and I think Philadelphia
matches up well in that scenario. So I know the
chief sero point favorite. I like Philadelphia in this one,
and I'm taking you over. I'm saying thirty three, twenty
seven Philadelphia, And by the way, for.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
All your media friends and Dan Osamal, why didn't they
listen to me last Saturday when I broke the story
that Eli Manning had already been eliminated from the Hall
of Fame vote. The vote was done three weeks ago.
I already had that story, I said. I didn't want
to reveal all the guys that have been eliminated. I
just wanted to make sure every understood Eli Manning will
not be in the Hall of Fame this year. Doesn't
(34:59):
mean he can't be in the YouTube, but it won't
happen this year. And then all week long, Eli's gonna
make it. I'm like, did you guys listen to me?
Speaker 8 (35:06):
I got the story.
Speaker 6 (35:08):
I'm just glad they showed restraint and just fill a class.
I thought there were other guys that maybe should have
gotten in, but they've been jamming guys in for the
last twenty years, and the finally show restrained time that
I appreciated.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
I'm with you one hundred percent. Well, Dan, enjoy the
rest of your time in New Orleans. Great job as always,
and thanks for coming.
Speaker 8 (35:26):
On with us.
Speaker 6 (35:27):
Thanks guys, talk you soon.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Steve Hartman and Moncie Belano's here Fox Football Saturday, coming
live from me, Steve, what a breath tire rack dot
com Studios. I love this song.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
It's a good song. It's a good jam.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
It's one of those where everyone starts moving like it
comes on, even just a little bob like, everyone starts
moving with the song.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
The all reason I jumped in so quick as we're
really up against it.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
We are a good song.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
It is, by the way, sort of a final note
on we're talking about the Hall of Fame. But yeah,
I mean when they said Josh Allen MVP over Lamar Jackson,
I mean to put this in perspective. So the last
time that the MVP was a quarterback who was not
(36:42):
first Team All Pro and it was a little bit
of It was a year that Steve McNair and Peyton
Manning tied in the MVP, and obviously Peyton was First Team.
But the last time it really happened was nineteen eighty
seven when Joe Montana was First Team All Pro and
John Elway won the MVP award. I was I did
(37:05):
not see that coming at all, But indeed Josh Allen
was voted Most Valuable Player over Lamar Jackson. What's crazy
about this is when you look at his numbers this
year Lamar Jackson opposed of last year, It's like night
and day. Oh yeah, And last year he got all
but one first place vote he won. He got forty
nine out of fifty first place votes. But this year
(37:27):
the electors went a different direction.
Speaker 8 (37:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
I mean I was very vocal about last year that
I thought it was Christian McCaffrey easier to be the MVP.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
And it wasn't that Lamar was bad.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
I just thought Lamar had a really good defense that
really solidified their number one seed. And you just mentioned
he wasn't top ten in any of the categories. This year,
he blew everybody out. He was a top in all
the categories. But I Vegas is never wrong. So Josh
Allen was always favored to win MVP the entire time.
And so I was like, I don't think Vegas is wrong.
(38:01):
And I had heard that stat that since in eighty seven.
You said, right that that had never happened. But I
was like, Vegas is never wrong. Like they have to
know something, just like you knew something, you're insider. I
was like, so I thought it was I thought it
was a big possibility, just because the entire season, Josh
Allen had the edge of winning the MVP.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
According to Las Vegas.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Well, I look at you could certainly make an argument
for Saquon Barklay. Yeah, and again it's you know, it's
like a quarterback award, and Saquon gets Offensive Player of
the Year, just like Cooper Cupp was. It seems like
offensive player of the year more often than not, we'll
go to a running back or a wide receiver. Yes,
that kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Yes, it seems that way.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
You know of all the stats, and you look, I'm
already on record with the Eagles, so I've been that.
So what we'll talk more about that next hour. By
the way, Adam Kaplan will join us. But here's something again.
Someone said, what give me a key stat for this game.
I go, that's very simple. Saquon Barkley has had fourteen
hundred yard rushing days, including the playoffs, and the Eagles
(39:01):
have won thirteen of those fourteen games. On the other side,
the Chiefs have yet to allow any running back get
one hundred yards rushing. Right, I think that is so
that is that is that's the start. Right. If Barkley
gets one hundred yards rushing in this game, the Eagles
will win. Yeah, one percent. There is no way I
(39:26):
can see him having over one hundred yards and not
winning and not winning the game.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
I actually I hear what you're saying. But I think
that is a possibility still because when the Chiefs played
the ravens Lamar had over one hundred rushing yards, so
they have a lot of player to do that.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
It just wasn't a running back, so they could.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
Obviously, the goal is stop saying one Barkley, that is
the obvious goal for the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
All right, Well, we have a lot of numbers for
you to break down as we get ready for the
big game. And that's why we're here. We're going to
make this as easy for you as possible. And when
you make that wager, this is Fox Football Saturday.
Speaker 8 (40:04):
Yeah, rolling along here.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
As we are getting ever so close, ever so close,
I know, in fact, less than.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
Twenty five and twenty four hours away.
Speaker 2 (40:15):
Less than twenty four hours away the kickoff of Super
Bowl fifty nine between the Chiefs and the Eagles, and
we are broadcasting live from the ti rack dot com studios.
Ty rack dot com. We're gonna help get you there
and on Matt's selection, fast free shipping, free road asser protection,
over ten thousand recommended installers, tire iraq dot com, the
(40:36):
way tire buying should be.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
So.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
I watched a repeat of Super Bowl fifty seven two
years ago between the Eagles and the Chiefs, and that
was a wildly entertaining game. Again, if Jalen Hurts plays
anywhere near the level he did two years ago, forget it.
This game is over. He played that well in the game.
But you know, everyone's been talking about the Chiefs and
(41:03):
this is really weird for me. By the way, twenty
five years ago today, one of the greatest Chiefs players
of all time, Derek Thomas, passed away. In the aftermath
of an automobile accident that he had been involved in.
I mentioned that because one I got to know Derek,
he was in our celebrity race in Long Beach.
Speaker 8 (41:23):
He was what a character.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
This guy was, Hall of Fame linebacker and everything else.
But he played in an era where you know, the
Chiefs were had some decent years, but they were never
really serious contenders. And you know, they only they hadn't
been in a super Bowl, you know, for fifty years,
until all of a sudden, Patrick Mahomes showed up. And
now here they are in their fifth super Bowl in
(41:47):
six years. That has never happened before. Crazy, that's never
happened before. They are the first team ever to win
back to back Super Bowls and actually get to the
super Bowl with a chance of winning a third consecutive
Super Bowl. And so it just seems weird to me
as a kid. I like the Chiefs because of their uniforms.
I just I love the color and everything else. And
(42:09):
I mean, this is going back to the AFL days.
But it's just amazing how a team that he had
been so insignificant really unless you're a diehard fan of
that team for so many years. It's very similar to
the Patriots before Tom Brady suddenly gets that label hated team.
(42:29):
And what is there really to hate if you're the Chiefs.
I mean, you're a Taylor Swift fan, so we'll get
into that whole dynamic. But when you look at Patrick Mahomes,
what's there to hate about Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid? I mean,
the lovable schlub that he is, football genius that he is,
(42:51):
And I just I'm trying to figure out where or
why other than the fact that they're just good and
they I'm ways to win games. Shouldn't that be more
admired than hated.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
I mean, we've.
Speaker 4 (43:05):
Talked about this, how I don't hate the Chiefs. They
don't bother me and I'm not a Chiefs fan. And
it has nothing to do with Taylor Swift. I love
Taylor Swift, nothing to do with that.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
I feel that the people just want to find something
to be mad about. There is no real reason.
Speaker 4 (43:24):
You're right, why you don't like Travis Kelsey because he's
dating Taylor Swift. You don't like Patrick Mahomes because he
has adorable babies and a wife that loves him.
Speaker 3 (43:35):
I don't know, Andy Reid. He just wants to have
a cheeseburger.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
How like, really though, Steve Spagnolo, how I don't know
why they're hated.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (43:46):
Well, I mean, look, obviously, Harrison Bucker, with his political
beliefs religious beliefs, drew the iyer of some people. He
was confronted by the Way in New Orleans about that. Yeah,
that's one players the kicker. He's the kicker, right, that's what.
Speaker 4 (44:03):
And if you say I don't like him, it's like, okay, fine,
you don't like him, right that, like you just said,
that's a perfect example. But for everyone else it doesn't
make sense. Okay, Patrick Mahomes brother, maybe like is that
why you don't like him?
Speaker 2 (44:15):
Again? This stat of all the things that Chiefs, the
Chiefs have won now seventeen straight one score games. You really,
you know you hear a stat like, oh that that's good. No, no, no,
you don't understand. You don't understand. I mean, if you're
betting on anything, it's a fifty to fifty proposition, right,
(44:36):
I mean, that's it. I mean, it's like you're betting
for a team one word or the other. Either they're
gonna win or they're gonna lose. You know, over under.
I mean, it's a fifty to fifty one score games
if you look at it, traditionally, even out over time,
but none of them, but not with this Chiefs team.
The fact, the fact is they, yeah, people, we talk
(45:01):
about their offense, and their offense hasn't been very special.
And this AFC Championship game was their first thirty point
game of the year. And the answer to that is
because that's the first game they actually had to score
thirty points to win, right, I mean, that's it, I
mean happens. I mean you throw away the last game
obviously against Denver where they didn't play anybody. Their only
other loss was to Buffalo. And so this team is
(45:25):
so good right now that they can control the narrative
and literally only have to score as many points as
they have to score because in the NFL, unlike college football,
we have to impress polsters and move up in the
polls and everything else. That there's no style points in
(45:46):
the NFL. It is a hard line. Either you win
or you lose, and how you win doesn't matter. In
the NFL, It's just about win names The Chiefs not
trying to prove anything.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
They've already proved it They don't need to score forty
on you for you to see what kind of team
they are.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
They've been showing us for.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
The last five out of six years how good they are,
and it.
Speaker 3 (46:13):
They we've talked about. I said it.
Speaker 4 (46:15):
I'm like, I feel like they just do what they
need to do to win. Like you score, Okay, we
gotta score. You didn't score, all right, We're gonna try
to score, you know, like they're they're not.
Speaker 2 (46:23):
They don't have to prove anything.
Speaker 4 (46:24):
And I do think, you know, sitting here, when you
ask why do people not like them, it has to
be a little bit of the access we have to
these athletes because of social media. You know, like back
then you would just see them on TV playing and
you didn't really know the type.
Speaker 3 (46:39):
Of person they were.
Speaker 4 (46:40):
But because Travis Kelcey does a podcast, because Patrick Mahomes's
wife is all over on social media post, I feel
like people think they know them, that they know them personally,
and they've developed these ideas as to why they don't
like them. And I think this goes across not just
the Chiefs, but the Chiefs right now because they're in
the Super Bowl again and people really seem to not
(47:02):
like them. It's I think this is just what's happening
with people feeling like you know a famous person because
of social media.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
And like you know them and thus you don't like them.
When Retta, you don't know them, well.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
Hate watch hate watch you.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
When the Chargers moved out of San Diego, I'm in
San Diego. The Chargers of left town to La, right,
and they're trying to convince these Charger fans of San
Diego to truck up to some soccer stadium, you know,
and Carson Yeah, went to several of them, and you know,
they get the collective bird from all the San Diego
Charger fans. I mean, I don't think they understand how
much San Diego hates LA hates La. LA doesn't hate
(47:40):
San Diego. LA didn't he want the Chargers. They're like,
we live them in San Diego. That's why we go
to San Diego.
Speaker 3 (47:46):
Yeah, it's true.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
So, but that first year, the TV numbers for the
Charger games were biggins because people were hate watching. So
if you're one of those people that are sick and
tired of the Chiefs hating that fixes in you're watching right.
Speaker 8 (48:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
I remember years ago when they did the Howard Stern
movie and they were talking about Howard Stern and his
ratings when he first like became big, and they were like,
you know, why are all these people listening? He goes, well,
here's the really crazy part. Those that identify that they
hate him actually listen to him longer than those that
(48:27):
like him.
Speaker 6 (48:28):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (48:29):
So when people say, well, people aren't interested in the
super Bowl, I don't buy that because if there is
that much disdain for the Chiefs, you're watching and rooting
like crazy for them to lose. It's not about the
Eagles winning. It's about the Chiefs losing.
Speaker 4 (48:49):
Absolutely. I hate watch the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (48:52):
For years and years years.
Speaker 4 (48:54):
I watched more Laker games than I should have because
I hated them so much.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
Let me ask you this, And if they lost a
big game.
Speaker 3 (49:01):
Oh I felt so good?
Speaker 8 (49:03):
Was it almost better than your team winning?
Speaker 6 (49:05):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (49:05):
Yes, absolutely, you know what I mean, Like when Kobe
would miss a shot, I was like, yes, you know,
like I enjoyed them losing.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
If you are a hater of the Chiefs, and if
the Taylor Swift dynamic has only amplified that, how much
do you want to see her and Travis like crying?
Devastating that ring he was going to pull out to propose,
he puts it back in his pocket. Not the right
mom mailing.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
That's what you want everyone.
Speaker 4 (49:36):
Not everyone, but a lot of people on social media like,
I'm not watching this is it's rigged.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
I'm not worry.
Speaker 4 (49:41):
I am so curious to see the final numbers the
next day as to how many people watch the Super
Bowl because I think everyone's going to be watching this game.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
These are the two best teams right now in the NFL.
There the point spread is, it's a point It's a
pickham game. It's a pick them game. And that's because
we have two really good teams that have been there, done,
that know each other. This is really what you want
(50:12):
in a Super Bowl. You want an even matchup, and
this is an even matchup.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
I don't care who wins, right like I don't have
a dog in the fight.
Speaker 3 (50:22):
I have picked.
Speaker 4 (50:24):
The Chiefs to three peats since before the start of
the season. But if the Eagles win, I would feel
so happy for Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. I would
feel so happy for them. Nick Sirianni not so much,
but I would feel so happy for Jalen Hurts and
Saquon to have pulled this off together, you know, like
(50:44):
it would be. I don't care who wins. I really don't,
but I am. I'm just hoping for a good game
right coming down to the final, even.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
Though a well, look, we've had great games. Actually we
had an overtime, and I mean the last couple of
Super Bowls have been right down to the last play.

this man has controlled the scene wherever he is, he
does well, especially Super Bowl week in New Orleans. Our
NFL insider, the Great Adam Kaplan, is joining us right now.
(52:41):
So Adam, we have a lot to talk about and
we want to get to everything. But the first thing,
when we talked to you last week, I already had
the inside word that Eli Manning did not make the cut.
So I have an insider, and I actually after you
were on the air a half hour later, I broke
it on the air for our listeners. Cool that I
(53:03):
know the eight people that did not make the cut.
It was a different cut this year. Instead of fifteen
to ten, ten to five, it was fifteen to ten,
ten to seven. And I knew that Eli Manning did
not make the cut. And yet all week long, I'm
listening to all these geniuses talking about, Oh, yeah, he's in,
he's in, He's in. I'm like, no, I knew that
(53:24):
he wasn't.
Speaker 9 (53:25):
I'm surprised though, that it would be that much. I mean,
to be honest with you, being on Radio Row is
not discussed at all. I mean, I must have interviewed
for Sports Girard seventy people. We didn't talk about it,
but just because it was as you know, Thursday, this
all came out, the buzz about Eric Allen getting in
(53:46):
that it actually got out a couple hours before.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Yes, I'm so happy that he got.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
Oh he's the best.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
It's a great dude. As you know, I love Eric,
a great guy.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
So excited for him.
Speaker 9 (53:54):
One of the best human beings ever me ever it is,
and that that's you know, the tie in with Eli Manning.
It's like, okay, well Eric has been waiting so long
as you go to the Senior Committee. What's going to
happen here? Eli can wait. You know, there's been a
big debate whether Eli should ever get in because numbers
were never that good. It's kind of like with Joe Namath. Yeah,
(54:17):
Joe Navis, his numbers were never that good. He just
won a Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
But he also was the first guy to have four
thousand yards passing. I mean there were miles stats exactly
back in those days. But there's nothing like that on
Eli Manning. So as a MAZ two Super Bowl wins, I.
Speaker 9 (54:31):
Don't vote for the Hall of Fame. I voted in
two polls for every single word. Uh, and you know,
I'm glad, by the way, Well, although the one that
surprised me, I I still think Lamar Jackson had a
better year. Again, we have to look at that stuff, guys.
Is that it's the totality of the regular season. It's
not the second half. I think a lot of people
a recency bias on the spectacular second.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
What do you think that was? I mean I was shocked.
Why do you think ultimately, and by the way, how
do you feel all of their vot were then revealed
for the first time?
Speaker 1 (55:02):
Yeah, I didn't see that yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
By the way, how does Tom Brady have a vote
when he's the Raiders.
Speaker 8 (55:08):
I agree with you that there's a lot of weird
on that committee.
Speaker 9 (55:12):
There's a lot of weirdness, But I do like that
the writers like Paul Domowitch long time, he's retired, but
he still participates. A Philadelphia area reporter, he was really
calumnist for many years for the newspapers, and he was
the guy who pitched Eric Allen. And it took a
lot of work. And that's what you need, you know,
(55:32):
that's that's as you know, guys.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
But how shocked were you about this Josh Allen situation?
Speaker 1 (55:38):
I was surprised. I didn't. Again, I voted for two poles.
Speaker 9 (55:42):
Pro Football writer associations by far the most developed, I
think fair and researched a lot of us who cover
the league not just from a national basis, but locally
or we you know, we have access to a lot
of really smart people, and I didn't think it was
really that close, to be honest with you, from my
point of view, but the AP voters thought that Josh
(56:02):
allensch Again and again, I think there's a little bit
of recncy bias on it.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
Adam, we're less than twenty four hours away from game time.
Speaker 3 (56:09):
You cover the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (56:11):
How surprised are you that Brandon Graham seems to be
available to play?
Speaker 1 (56:19):
He's going to play.
Speaker 9 (56:20):
So what happened was he tours left triceps in week
twelve at the Rams and he said after the game,
I'm done.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
A couple weeks in he said he was done on
local radio.
Speaker 9 (56:30):
He is a spot early in the week on VIP
and he basically said, about three weeks ago, don't count
me out. I think I got a shot to play
because he doesn't have to be able to do everything
he was doing before. So my feeling I've kind of
worked this around New Orleans this week is that you'll
(56:51):
see him as a situational pass rusher. That was a
really good run defenter. You probably won't see him doing
much of that, if at all. You probably won't play
in goal line situations. I'm sure you're already surprised me
if he did because of the triceps. By the way,
from your elbow to it just before the top of
your shoulder, it's.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
On the back of your arm. It's his left arm.
Speaker 9 (57:08):
Now, what's interesting is the only player that I know
who's ever torn it and come back in the regular
season is a former Eagle. Hollis Thomas was with the
Saints in two thousand and eight. He missed two and
a half months. Now, he was a backup then barely played.
He was near the end of his career. And Brandon Graham,
who's thirty six years old, turns thirty seven in April
and will go in the team's Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
He's going to play tomorrow.
Speaker 9 (57:29):
That's a lock. The question is can he see fifteen snaps?
Ten snaps?
Speaker 1 (57:34):
Now?
Speaker 9 (57:34):
The one issue that you have is and I know
that you know he was able to ride a bike
and stay in shape and treadmill and all that. You
just don't know about game conditioning and you know, the
least day of the games endors you don't have to
worry about being outside or getting hot.
Speaker 1 (57:48):
But that's he's an incredible football player. Guys.
Speaker 9 (57:51):
His best game of the last two years have to
be in that game that he got hurt. He was
unstoppable and unfortunately in that game of tour the triceps.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
What about this virus is spreading the locker with the Eagles,
give us an update on that.
Speaker 1 (58:02):
Yeah, they're going to everyone's going to play.
Speaker 9 (58:03):
In fact, Jalen Carter, they were really worried because what
happens is when a player gets the flu or virus,
they isolate them. And what they do is they put
the player on Microsoft teams with the rest of his teammates.
If the guy cannot be there. Now, the good thing
is they caught it early.
Speaker 1 (58:20):
Now.
Speaker 9 (58:22):
Last week, Nolan Smith, one of their starting edgetrushers, had it.
He got rid of it. There were like three or
four players who were dealing with very limited symptoms, but
they were all able to practice, so they're going to
be able to go. So the good thing is now
from entry standpoint, Chaser clean, all fifty three players in
the roster will be available for the game. They got
(58:42):
Eagles got Brandon Graham cleared. He's going to play.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Kenny game well.
Speaker 9 (58:45):
By the way, Eagles number two back and by far
the best pass protector. Yes, he is better than Saquon
Barklay one thing, that's why he plays more than Barklay
and pass the situations.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
He's been cleared, I could cush a protocol. So they're
ready to go.
Speaker 4 (58:58):
So, Adam, what are your thoughts on if hypothetically the
Chiefs win. Do you think we're going to hear some
retirement announcement?
Speaker 9 (59:08):
Kelse, I don't think so. With a kind of money,
I can't. He didn't indicate that just being there this week.
It didn't seem like that was going to be on
the table.
Speaker 1 (59:17):
Now.
Speaker 9 (59:17):
I know sometimes, like you know, when Bill Walsh retired,
he kept it quiet from this players, and you saw
him cry in the locker room, and they obviously knew
he was going to retire after the eighty Super Bowl. See,
you never know, like Brandon Graham now went back on
his word, like he had announced it.
Speaker 1 (59:33):
Before the season started.
Speaker 9 (59:34):
It's pretty resolute, and the mid season he stipped really
before he got hurt. He started having second thoughts because
it's kind of like, let's say tomorrow, let's say he
doesn't retear it because he did have procedure by the way.
Let's say he's he plays well, it feels good, and
let's say they lose by a field goal.
Speaker 1 (59:51):
He might want to come back.
Speaker 9 (59:52):
Now, he did win the he did win eight years ago,
he did win his first ring in his first Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
So you kind of have to watch this situation for
what it is.
Speaker 9 (01:00:01):
But you always give the player at a latitude to
change his mind here. But the other question would be,
is there anything we don't know about any other players
who are older, you know, because there's some players maybe
you're not we're not talking about, or like we know
Jason Kelsey was going to retire last year. He actually
told his teammates before the scenes started, and he kind
(01:00:23):
of kept it quiet, though a lot of us kind
of knew from our people we speak with that he
was he was going to stick with that, So you
never know. But it's a little bit of extra drama
to the game.
Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
All right, Well, Spagnola gets a lot of hype, and
it's deserved. The guy is delivering Super Bowl wins as
a defensive coordinator. And then on the other side you
got Vic Fangio, who is oh to eight against Patrick
Mahomes actually to nine if you count, and being a
consultant two years ago for the Eagles defense. They're going
to throw that onto the pile.
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Although they say he wasn't really working on the defense
but going.
Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
Right, but I mean he was he was over all right.
The bottom line, he's win us against Patrick Mahomes. Give
us a little insight because you know, Vic Fangio. You
followed his game. He's sure been a part of this
league for a number of years, certainly a highly respected coordinator.
Is he going to show us a wrinkle in this game?
I mean it's not like he doesn't know the personneality.
(01:01:18):
I mean he knows him backwards and forwards. He has
seen thousands and thousands of hours of film trying to
figure out what can I do, what will he do?
What should we expect as a maybe an unforeseen wrinkle
in this Eagles defense?
Speaker 9 (01:01:35):
All right, So, ironically, Steve in the same stadium in
Week three in New Orleans where the Eagles surprised the Saints.
This when the Saints first two weeks were not only
league in the NFL scoring, they were setting team records,
league record for the first two weeks of offense, and
then they shut them down.
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
In Week three.
Speaker 9 (01:01:50):
They brought out a front, an unscotted look that the
Saints had never seen. So what they did is they
took Zach Boughd, ironically, a former Saint who was an
intrust for the Saints and now moved inside back or
with Eagles. They actually brought him down and created a
five man front and make all the cutback runs for
Camara were crushed that he just couldn't cut back so
that he completely stopped them. So on your point, Steve,
(01:02:13):
he'll they're not going to spy him. I don't see
that happening because he's not a runner. He's more of
a scrambler. But the issue, the one issue with fanch
I know the defense has been phenomenal. They're the number
one defense statistically in the National Football League and we
saw this with zach Ertz last week, a former Eagle.
They have what we would call I ben don't break.
You're talking to coaches who have gone up against Fangio.
(01:02:35):
He'll give you everything underneath like he didn't care about that.
You will not throw it over his head. They've g gon
up the least amount of exposive pass plays the National
Football League.
Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
They don't give up anything deep.
Speaker 9 (01:02:46):
So Travis Kelcey, if you're people who look at the
prop bets, right, that's a guy he saw. I mentioned
zach Ertz who had ten catches last week. Travis kelcher
should do very well against his defense, and so what
could he do?
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Now?
Speaker 9 (01:03:00):
The other thing you can do here is the one
thing that they have to do is you have to get.
Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
Physical with those receivers.
Speaker 9 (01:03:05):
They've got two guys goold run Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy.
Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
He's been a big surprise. He's a well ahead of schedule,
so what could he do.
Speaker 9 (01:03:13):
They don't play a lot of man coverage, okay, but
they don't press a lot. What you got to do
here is surprise everybody and you suppress coverage that you
could play zone and keep your corners up a little bit.
Just if you disrupt their timing. That's going to have
Mahomes haul on the ball. And by the way, one
note you should understand when you guys watch this tomorrow,
(01:03:34):
let's not forget the left side of the chief has
been changed. Joe Toney, the left guard is one of
the top three in the league at that position. He's
still going to play left tackle, and they're going with
Mike and not Frank Kellando at left guard.
Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
He's not very good.
Speaker 9 (01:03:46):
That is a matchup where I think the Eagles could
dominate and that would be a problem for Mahomes.
Speaker 4 (01:03:51):
I have a question not regarding this Super Bowl Adam,
the NFL going to Ireland, going to Australia, Like, how
many games are they going to take away from the fans.
Speaker 9 (01:04:02):
Well, that's MANSI that's a great question because I know
Eagle fans were up in arms because that Green Bay
game week won in Brazil was a home game for
the Eagle. Yeah, there's nothing these fans can do about it,
Like they're not going to sue. I mean they if
they want, they can get a class action. They're going
to lose it. It's just it's the NFL, the team's prerogative.
And remember territorial rights, which it's really fascinating like that.
(01:04:24):
Most fans don't know that that each team, Eagles had
territorial rights in Brazil, so that means they promote there,
they've got exclusivity from other teams promoting there. It's kind
of weird, by the way, but that happens, and we're
going to continue to see this. The NFL loves playing abroad,
they love playing overseas. And I probably said this years
ago on FSR, But when I worked for ESPN, a
(01:04:45):
small scoop that I had as one so on to
work in the league office told me in our lifetime,
he goes, I'm not going to tell you what year
or what decade we're going to have a team overseas.
So I said to this guy, I like, are you
got to your mind? There's no way you can do that.
He goes, oh, I know, logisticalate it's hard. But he
started to giving me some re since why and how
they can do it because remember we played NFL Europe.
Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
We had it over there. I'm like, yeah, but that
was minor league football.
Speaker 9 (01:05:07):
But they are guys so long and they love playing
outside the States.
Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
They just do.
Speaker 4 (01:05:13):
Can teams veto like, do they have a say? Because
I feel like going to Australia is such You're you're
gonna lose three days just traveling. Can teams be like, no,
We're not gonna do that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
It's it's actual, no manci. They actually pitch it to them.
Speaker 9 (01:05:28):
Okay, those I believe are pitched and they like like
Eagles wanted.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
The Eagles have made it clear.
Speaker 9 (01:05:35):
For instance, they want they want to play anywhere like
they They don't want to do it every year, but
they want to do it. Certain teams want to do it.
Obviously the Jaguars because of Shatkhan the soccer team, and
they've made this agreement they're good for a year, several
years that they're going to be playing overseas, you know,
in England most likely. But yeah, this is going to
continue to happen.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Guys.
Speaker 9 (01:05:55):
I know coaches don't like it because they you just
mentioned it. MONSI the time difference. You know what's interesting.
I don't know we were gonna go here, but I'm
gonna throw another one for you in here. It is
interesting because some teams don't want to have the buy
right after they come back. Isn't it fascinating? They think
it's I don't know why though, I'm not sure, but
I'm not talking to some clubs that they like to
keep the sameness. They they like to just play the
(01:06:17):
next week. It's just kind of weird.
Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
All right, final question for you, and I'm not gonna
get into who's gonna win, because we'll see who wins.
But I'm gonna I'm gonna give you four names. Gonna
eliminate four names from the Super Bowl MVP conversation. Yeah
so no Jalen Hurts, no Patrick Mahomes, no Travis Kelce,
no sa Kuon Barkley. I got one, all right, That's
what I'm asking you. So I'm taking those four guys
out of the mix. Give me a Super Bowl MVP
(01:06:41):
aj Brown. He did great two years ago. They're not
that good at corner of the Chiefs anymore. That would
be my egos went out for the Chiefs. This is
gonna this is gonna be a stunner. I wonder what
the prop battles on this one. I'm sure it won't
happen because he's a kicker.
Speaker 9 (01:06:55):
But Harrison, Harrison Bucker is way better than Jake La
Jakellie used to be the NFL's best coat. He struggled
mightily this season. The Chiefs don't score a lot of points.
He might have four or five field goals tomorrow. Never
had a kicker win.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
We had a special teams player obviously I know, never
been there. So there you go, all right, Well, uh,
enjoy the game. We just want a good game. That's
all we want to know. We'll have a good game.
And I think, by the way, yes.
Speaker 9 (01:07:21):
Real quick, you're not gonna believe this one. I had
five NFL players tell me this week in New Orleans,
five in particular, blowout Eagles will blow out the same
the Chiefs. I said, guys, that's not happening. There's just
no way to I see it being a three point game.
I don't see that.
Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Well, actually, I'm one of those yes, when you say
blow out, I I think it's going to be I
think a double digit victory.
Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
Well you were right last week with Eagles blowing out
the the that idea. I'm not.
Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
It's not going to be anywhere near that. But yeah,
I'm picking points ten point ten point win for the advice.
That's you know, I'm with you. There's a reason why
no teams won three straights.
Speaker 9 (01:07:55):
Hey, you know what, Manzi, Steve's good at letting us
know which ones he gets right.
Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
So yes, oh yeah, no, no heed him.
Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
He's only mentioned that he was right about ELI seven
times and we've been here.
Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
Ninety minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
Because that wasn't a prediction, that was actual information I had.
So everybody.
Speaker 8 (01:08:14):
Enjoy the game.
Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
Thanks so much, of course, we'll talk to you next
week in the aftermath. Thanks Adam, Thanks guys, Adam Kaplan,
there are Fox Sports Radio, NFL Insider. Now let's find
out what is a trending? All right, Martin the.
Speaker 8 (01:08:27):
Dust finally settle on half of the trade that shook
the NBA world. Unfortunately, construction is still going on in Dallas.
Anthony Davis played thirty one minutes and that tortured metaphor
doing a lot of work. He had thirty one minutes
of action today and the Dallas win over Houston won
sixteen to one oh five. However, he did leave the
(01:08:48):
game with a non contact injury, Jason Kidd saying he's
not expecting Anthony Davis to miss an extended amount of time,
but still waiting to hear back with the medicals on
that situation. He left the game in the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
My thought was, look, he's been out for a while,
obviously within an injury. I think it was anxious. I
think he did a lot twenty six points, sixteen rebound,
seven assists, three blocks.
Speaker 8 (01:09:09):
I think he over overserted himself a little bittle bit
there was because I mean there was a week that
was really nasty, exactly for the Anthony Davis.
Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
You just want to remind the world there were two players,
all NBA players involved in this trade, not one.
Speaker 8 (01:09:23):
Because that's what you forget, right. This is the first
time there was two all NBA players, and Davis one
of those two. Next, Christie also had a good game today,
but not one of the two.
Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Exactly.
Speaker 8 (01:09:34):
Yeah, he but tough scene so we'll see. Hopefully he
recovers quickly. Luka, Doncis will recover enough to play Tuesday
on the tent. That's the TES Tuesday, Monday, Monday, Monday.
How did calendars work?
Speaker 6 (01:09:48):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (01:09:50):
Seventeen. The Lakers beat the Pacers today. A lot of
people thought, including ESPN, as Monte alluded to earlier, that
this was going to be the debut, which is why
we had to watch the number one team the nation
and the Auburn Tigers lose on ESPN two today to
the six foot Florida Gators. So that that's, you know,
just until you have that end of the first quarter
for Victor wembin Yama and the Spurs against the Orlando
(01:10:12):
Magic thirty two to thirty, the Magic in the lead.
The Wizards lead the Hawks thirty to twenty six right
now at the end of the first quarter as well.
Often reeves forty five points today, Yeah, forty five, thirteen
for thirteen from the free throw line. He's like, you
know what, don't worry, guys, I got this. Uh well,
how do you think it's gonna work.
Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
It's kind of amazing they've been able to maneuver all this,
these deals and not and still keep Reeves and RUI Hatchemura.
I mean, everything just seems to work out for the life.
Speaker 8 (01:10:40):
I would say it was amazing, but I saw the
reporting from Dallas, so it's less like is it amazing
or is it just like really.
Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
Bad by Dallas?
Speaker 8 (01:10:48):
Yeah, right, it really bad by Dallas. Uh. That's really
all that's going on right now. A couple college basketball games.
Cincinnati's up sixty six to fifty five on BYU. But
you know what they want to hear about the Super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
Back to you guys and U c l a blew
up Penn State. Oh man, I can't I knew you.
Weally say that that's crazy Riches here tomorrow I'll remind
him of that. All right, here's what we're gonna do,
are gonna do. We're gonna break a little early right
now because on the other side, we're gonna get to
our game day Geniuses, Super Bowl Edition. This is Fox
(01:11:24):
Football Saturday, Steve Harby, Moncey Bolognas, Fox Football Saturday. We
are live from the Tirak dot Com studios. Okay, it
is that time, all right, So it's safe to say
that it's over Montcy win one. Oh what is it
(01:11:52):
a six point difference. What is it right now? It
is a six point difference. And to quote Kendrick Steve,
you may want turn your TV off.
Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
U now.
Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
Forty to thirty four is what it is right now
pre Super Bowl. No matter how many times I changed,
try to change the rules and did change the rules
in an effort to try to get points on points
that just kept backfiring on me time and time again.
So I'm conceding you, champion, well as you join a
(01:12:24):
long list of co host over the years that have
beaten me head to head and making picks.
Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
No, you definitely were clear. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
However, However, that being said, when do you think about it?
What game matters most when it's all said and done,
What single game matters most in the NFL season?
Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
The one that's happening in twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
Three hours, That is correct, super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
Super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
All right? So, by the way, since there's really nothing
at stake, we need scores, yes, so just winners, we
need an action.
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
Sounds good.
Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
And by the way, whoever's closest on the final score
gets seven points forget that? All right? So would you
would you like to go first? Mancie?
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
Yeah, I'll go first. Why not. Uh, you know, since
the start of the season, I.
Speaker 4 (01:13:21):
Pick the Chiefs to win and three pete and I'm
gonna stick with that. I know the Chiefs have not
looked dominant like maybe the Lions looked all season, but
it doesn't matter. The Chiefs don't have anything to prove.
They are a well oiled machine. They know what they're doing,
and they have stars all over the field, defensive side
(01:13:44):
of the ball, offensive side of the ball, on the sidelines,
with their coaching staff. They have stars all over the field.
And I it's not that I think Patrick Mahomes will
be the reason the Chiefs win. I actually think they're
just going to be that. The Eagles are gonna get
out coached by Steve Speck and Andy Reid. That is
what I think is going to happen. And I think
the Chiefs beat the Eagles in a close game twenty
(01:14:10):
seven to twenty four.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
Twenty seven twenty four Chiefs, Chiefs, and they will would
make it eighteen consecutive one score victories for them exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
They will keep that going.
Speaker 4 (01:14:22):
Travis Kelce will maybe proposed to Taylor.
Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
Swift, well, it's an interesting score. It's wrong, you know,
because take it from mister. By the way, I've finished
second place out of two Yeah, okay, so I still
got the silver packs. All right, here's how I see
this game. I also picked the Chiefs to make the
(01:14:45):
Super Bowl to lose the Super Bowl to the Dallas Cowboys. Yeah. No,
that was a great pick.
Speaker 8 (01:14:51):
But I have the.
Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
Chiefs in the Super Bowl losing, so I'm sticking with
that prediction, okay. And I say that this final score
is going to surprise people. It's not going to be
a blowout blowout, but it's not going to be overtime.
Final score of this game.
Speaker 5 (01:15:13):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
Eagles thirty four, Chiefs twenty four. Well, how about them Cowboys.
So again I believe, and I've said this stat before.
If Saquon Barkley, who's had fourteen hundred yard games this
season including the playoffs, all three playoff games, by the way,
(01:15:35):
and they won thirteen of those fourteen games, and the Chiefs,
on the other hand, have not given up one hundred
yards to a running back the entire season, it's going
to change. Think about this. When the decision was made
to set out Saquon Barklay in that last regular season
game when he had a real chance to break the
NFL record. The irony is now he is thirty yards
(01:15:58):
away from the NFL record for most yards combining regular
season and the playoffs. You can almost make an argument
that's even a bigger record by the way, hell by
the great Terrell Davis. So I think he goes off
in this game. I know Smagnola's got four rings as
(01:16:18):
a defensive coordinator, but I think the Eagles are going
to run. I think when this is all said and done,
Saquon Barkley is going to be a Super Bowl MVP,
and it's going to be the Year of Barkley. He
is the guy who is destined to be the ultimate
face of the twenty twenty four NFL season.
Speaker 4 (01:16:40):
You know, everything you say makes sense, like I get it.
But at the same time, how do the Chiefs not
know that they are going to put everything on Saquon?
They already know that, So they're going to go in
with them and Telly, we gotta stop Saquon and we're
gonna have to make Jalen run or throw or do something.
Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
Well, you heard earlier, obviously, Adam Kaplan talked about aj Brown.
Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
Being the MVP after you iliminate got.
Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
Devonte Smith or tight end has been dynamite right right,
So they they have weapons they do if they try
to go all in on stopping bark I just don't
think they're going to do that. I think the Chiefs
realize that going all in on stopping Barkley is not
a winning formula for them. He's going to go off.
He's going to have a huge, huge game.
Speaker 4 (01:17:28):
I also see him going off and the Chiefs still winning.
Speaker 8 (01:17:31):
Well, it's not gonna happen that way.
Speaker 2 (01:17:34):
It is not going to happen, I know. So where
are you watching the game after we get done with U?
By the way, if you don't know, tomorrow, yes, we
will have the essentially pregame show here on Fox Sports
Radio with Rich and Bo and Chris and of course
Monseion years truly. That will start at one o'clock East
(01:17:54):
Coast time and will be five hours. So what is
your super Bowl view plan?
Speaker 4 (01:18:01):
So I'm not gonna I to you I'm already because
we're working till like about two thirty three for me,
and you're on till three with Rich.
Speaker 3 (01:18:08):
I'll, you know, maybe a little out a little before that.
Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
I don't know if I feel like socializing really to
be honest with yourself.
Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
No, no, no, be at home and eat some veggie wings
and pizza and wings, watch the game at home with
the boyfriend, and just hang out.
Speaker 3 (01:18:24):
I have an invitation to.
Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
Go somewhere and not to someone's house, but I just
I don't know if I feel like so. Obviously, there's
always tequila involved. Whether the Chiefs or the Eagles win,
I'm gonna celebrate with tequila no matter what, because I said,
if the Chiefs win, great, they are they three pete
I called it.
Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
If the Eagles win, great, I'm happy for.
Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
Jalen Herts and for Saquon Barkley and everybody you know.
So it'll be it'll be fine. But I think I'm
gonna stay I'm gonna stay in. I think I'm gonna
stay in. I don't think I want to be out
and about.
Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna the small group of family tomorrow.
I think everyone's going to be there except for my
younger son.
Speaker 3 (01:19:04):
Yeah, so you're also staying are Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:07):
We're going to get wings that actually have a chicken.
Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
Yeah, you're going to have an animal right, yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
Yeah, yeah, I can never forget that veggie wing.
Speaker 3 (01:19:17):
They were fine, they did you die?
Speaker 1 (01:19:19):
Do you ever have that?
Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
Do you ever have a veggie wing?
Speaker 6 (01:19:23):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:19:23):
I mean it looks like a wing, like it's like wings,
sauce and every in it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
It's not a tender.
Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
I brought some and he pretended.
Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
That they were awful, But they weren't. They were delicious,
he pretended.
Speaker 2 (01:19:36):
All right, Well, everybody, make sure you tune in tomorrow
because again we'll have you covered all the way up
close to kickoff and let's just hope for a really
good game. We got a lot more coming up. Get
you ready for the big game. This is Fox Sports Radio.
