Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening. No, Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Welcome into the as was just mentioned, Plank Show. My
name is Chris Plank, and I will be handling Friday nights.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Well what am I talking about?

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Saturday mornings in the Central and Eastern time zones, but
Friday night into a Saturday morning on the Pacific time zone,
as we say.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Good morning everybody. Bernie will be a Saturday night. Is
it okay? I mean, Brie, is it okay for me
to like talk about this?

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (00:35):
No, Yeah, He's solely going to focus on his Saturday show.
All of his attention is going to go there.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
And so all of my attention will go on both
this show and then my three hour h butt kicking
that I take every Sunday night from Arnie Spaniards. So
that's kind this is our fun. It's where you play Pepper.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
You know.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I tackle a lot of topics, dive into a bunch
of different things, and then I come in Sunday night
and I hang out with Arnie and everything that we
talk about is domb and stupid, and you know, it's
just it's what it is. He's got it all figured out, man.
So welcome into a little bonus plank. Brie still here.
Mark's running the show and I got a lot to
get to tonight. So as always, if you want to

(01:17):
jump in, I found in my world, and again remark
if you guys disagree, feel free to jump in and
tell me.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
But in my little world, the best way to interact
is Twitter.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Now it's not always the safest because I mean, one
little Twitter dispute can turn into World War three, and
feelers can get hurt, and people can get blocked, and
the next thing you know, you're getting piled on by
a bunch of dudes that have a name and then
a bunch of numbers after their name, and they've got
used to be an egg. Get Twitter profile now it's

(01:51):
a shadow profile. But I mean we're overnight, so I
mean we're here for the fight, right, I mean, there's
obviously something a little bit wrong with us to take
these hours, but we're here to hopefully make your overnight
your third shift. What your your road trip. I can't
tell you how many times that Bernie on a Friday

(02:12):
night or been during the weekend would be my guide
across this great United States of America. So welcome aboard.
Let's have some fun Twitter at Plank Show, Brie. I'm
going to figure it out. What's your Twitter? You don't
tweet that much, though, do you?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
You know what?

Speaker 5 (02:28):
I used to a lot and then I started working here,
and then I don't as much.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
That's weird. You would think it would want a.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Be the opposite, right, I think I would tweet more.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah, well then maybe we'd just make it at Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
How's that there?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
You go?

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Yeah, I mean I'm I'm up for whatever. It's breeding
ease twenty six? Okay, Kyle Korberver. That twenty six got
to be random.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
So how was how was your week seeing your new
head coach get introduced? How did you handle that?

Speaker 5 (02:55):
I was actually really excited seeing Kellen Moore really happy
and excited.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Even when you're an owner called him Ellen.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
That was so awkward.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
It was not awkward.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
And Derek Carr nowhere to be found, also very amusing
to me.

Speaker 6 (03:10):
Not gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah, I don't use was there anyone? Was anyone there?

Speaker 7 (03:15):
No?

Speaker 5 (03:16):
I mean they showed Caesar Ruiz kind of like at
the beginning when he was like getting off the bus
and you know, he was in the facilities, which I
thought was very sweet, but I mean and the way
that he kind of also handled the Derek Carr questions
was very very interesting.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
This is gonna be a wild show because I'm a
big Derek Carr fan, andree can't stand him.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
See I've seen.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
I like, I like two games, the two and oh,
Derek Carr, you focus on the next three games that
he started. That's the difference between you and I. But
I will say this much. I was thinking about you
a lot during the week. I think Kellen Moore is
a sensational hire, and I think the first thing.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
They need to do is move on from Derek. Just
It's that simple.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
Okay, So you agree, So you.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Like I said, he was, he was pretty much doomed
from the moment that he was unable to stay healthy
because I don't know what's happened. This was never him
in Vegas, in Oakland, he can't stay healthy, and part
of it might be because that offensive line kind of sucks.
But with that in mind, you bring in Kellen Moore,

(04:21):
you go either draft a guy. I don't think Spencer's
going to be that dude, but maybe you try that out.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
You know, I think Spencer Rattler's ceiling in the.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
NFL like Kirk Cousins Derek Carr, Which is good, right.
I don't think you're gonna go one in sixteen with
Spencer Rattler. You're definitely not gonna go one in sixteen
with Derek Carr. But all I hear now is that
everyone's wanting to take for arch Manning. And you haven't
seen arch Manning start a game against the top twenty
five team yet in college football, but yet everyone wants.

(04:50):
And the New Orleans thing was I think the last
time that I sat in for Bernie here on a
Friday night, I think you and I were joking about
the one of the guys at the Athlete had said
his plan for the for the Saints was to tank
this year and then draft arch Manning next year number
one overall. And you're like, well, I mean, if you're

(05:10):
tanking for Caleb Williams, at least you had three years
of evidence. If you were taking back in the day
for tank for Trevor Right, at least you had three
years of evidence.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
If you were.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Taking for Andrew Luck, you had three years of evidence.
As a quarterback. Now people are hey, you know what
you need tank for arch Manning. You haven't seen the
play damn game against the top twenty five team yet,
but we're in the same boat. I was happy for you.
I think Kella Moore is gonna do a great job.
I think it might be a rough year, but you're
probably in a good spot. Have you chosen who you

(05:41):
want as your quarterback yet?

Speaker 5 (05:43):
No, I'm pretty I actually I'm still on the Spencer
Rattler train. I'm not gonna lie. I don't know why.
I feel like if he can, if Kelim Moore could
come in there and kind of develop a scheme around him,
I think if he starts to build, like you know,
chrys Olave comes back, maybe mvs. Like, I don't know,
I still have some faith that there's a chance that

(06:05):
he can turn it around.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
He's a rookie.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
I mean, I don't think like we should write him
off so quickly, you know, like you said, we had
no offensive line.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
They were super hurt, So I think it's unfair to
just kind of like toss him away right right.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
And I actually have a Spencer Rattler T shirt. It
was very it was very like sudden and emotional in
me to make that rash decision to purchase that. But
I'm really I still have some faith, so I was
really excited when they drafted him in the fifth round.
So I don't know I have some I'm just I'm right.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
You have faith in Spencer Rattler.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
I have faith in Derek Carr, so we both we
both right. But I thought it was a fun week.
So with that in mind, coming up on the show tonight,
we're gonna play the which quarterback goes where game. I
think this is one of my favorite and one of
the most constant posts I say, postseason off season conversations

(06:59):
we've had in the NFL every off season for like
the last decade. Quarterback movement has been wild in the NFL.
And then you also add to it, every team needs
two quarterbacks. Every team needs two quarterbacks, and you know
that backup quarterback doesn't have to be you know, for
Star or Rockstar.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
It's got to be someone serviceable.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
For instance, I was in preparing for the show tonight,
I was reading you know, NFL dot NFL dot com
has more people that ride on NFL dot Com that
I've never heard of in my life.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
And I'll always find myself going, ah.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
That'd be good for the show, and I got sucked
into that tonight, which was here. Here's the headline of
the story that I got sucked into by Let's see
what was this by Nick Shook.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
I've never heard of Nick Shook in my.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Life, but it was five quarterbacks that in the upcoming
free agent class the teams can't afford to lose. Good
new Derek Carr not on that list. You can be
happy about that, Bree, but there's a bunch of names
on there. You're like, what, Like, Marcus Ariota's on this list?

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Why?

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Because you need two quarterbacks and he's been a really
good backup in Washington. Remember there was a game where
you know, Jame Daniels didn't play, he got hurt, and
Marcus Mariota came in and looked very comfortable in a
Cliff Kingsbury's offense. Sam Darnold's on here, right, hy Huntley?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
I what was you?

Speaker 8 (08:22):
No?

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Snoop?

Speaker 3 (08:23):
So I want to get to the quarterback conversation, and
you know, I feel like credit needs to be given
when credit is due. And Colin Coward this week gave
me one of those sit up in my chair moments,
and I'm like, oh, okay, I'm here for the Giants

(08:44):
Stafford a Ron Rams conversation, So we'll do that coming
up here in just a bit.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
And today was the Super Bowl preyed.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
As we segue from teams that want to be in
the Super Bowl to the team that won it, and
I got to tex I'm not My team doesn't win.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
My teams don't win in anything, okay, But.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Super Bowl parades to me are always just they become
a recipe for a disaster. You had a couple, you
had two people get there were two shootings that took
while two people got shot. Today now it was away
from the parade, but still like, what are we doing?
And I mean quinyon Mitchell's stud I don't need to
see him hammered, you know. Let you know, maybe have

(09:28):
a parade around the facility or something. Let the city celebrate,
put Jason Kelsey in whatever that outfit was, and just
let him go talk even though he's not on the
team anymore.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
But I know I'm an.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Old fuddy duddy. Okay, I'll accept it. I'll accept it.
But we got the highlights from the Eagles parade coming
up here in just a bit, which I think I did.
Howie Roseman took a beer bottle or a beer can
off the head and then proceeded to say, I bleed
for this city.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
I believe for my city. I mean, come on me.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
But I think there's an overriding question that needs to
be asked tonight, and it's one that will probably be
evergreen as a topic. And by that, I mean it's
something that we'll talk about much much more than just
on tonight's show. It's something that we might talk about,
you know, next Friday and the following Friday into Saturday.
I mean, it's just gonna be an evergreen topic, and
that is are the Eagles built for consistent success? My

(10:25):
knee drink reaction is yes, absolutely, But let's remember with
the slightest backstep, this team is not not slow to
tear it all down. We'll talk about that coming up
here and just a bit. And yes, here we are,
you know, eleven minutes into our first show and it's
been nothing but.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Football, football, football.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
But we also have something pretty historic in college basketball
coming up on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
We got a one versus two.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
You know, the last time we had a one versus
two it was four years ago. Now it's funny because
I look at twenty one, twenty two, the year when
UCLA played Gonzaga. I'm like, I was just like that
last year, Like, oh, that's like four or five years ago.
Now it's the first time in almost a decade when

(11:16):
one versus two has taken place between two teams that
are in the same conference. So I've got a mini
and I preview coming up of Alabama and Auburn. No, no, no, no,
it's not the Iron Bowl. He's not football. Don't be confused.
Alabama's never won a national championship in college basketball and
they've only been to the Final Four once. But they

(11:41):
got the best college basketball team in the country outside
of Auburn, who, even though they lost last week, stayed
at number one. That's how good Auburn is. And it's
a distinct difference in styles. You've got a defensive, plotting,
rebounding machine in Auburn and you got it up and
down in your face, back and forth tennis style offense.

(12:05):
In what NATO's in Alabama does. I'll preview that coming
up here. And just a bit day twenty five hundred.
I'm a NASCAR guy. The schedule is shifted, and wisely so.
NASCAR's biggest enemy over the last five years has been weather,
and it's hurt some of its biggest moments. So kudos
to NASCAR for being proactive and moving the race up.

(12:28):
But in the last couple of years, and Bernie's a
major Bernie's some major reason why I have discovered the
incredible amount of gambling options that are out there when
it comes to NASCAR. So i will tell you, I'm
not real sure how you can parlay this and what
can work, But I've got some cars that I'm gonna
guarantee you tonight, which listen first, I can't guarantee, but

(12:48):
just go with it. It's what I was given this
sports radio manual and it says just guarantee stuff. No
one will remember it. So I've got a handful of cars,
and I guarantee you are going to finish in the
top ten on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Maybe we all can make some money out of it.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Maybe for NASCAR, a pretty big season with an opportunity
to get and garner a bit of a new audience
with its new TV deal. But ladies and gentlemen, the
biggest story in sports should be NBA All Star Weekend. Right,
What we just spent a majority of our time talking
about here should very much be you know, bottom fold.

(13:24):
If I can go old school here and use a
newspaper analogy, if I could use a TV analogy, all
this other stuff should be like the tidbits or the
oh hey, here's what's coming up in a while, the
above the fold, the block A should be the NBA
All Star Weekend and as somebody as somebody who has
consumed a lot of sports radio today and listen it

(13:46):
just about all adjacent and Mike, I think we have
reached pinnacle.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Jump the shark moment when it comes to the All
Star weekend?

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Hey, Brady, did you know that they're there were four
teams playing in the All Star Game. I had no idea,
no clus I had no idea. I know, I cover
an NBA team every single day. There's a team in
my market, and I had no clue whatsoever. It's like, what, wait,
hold on, there's four teams. Break this down for me.

(14:19):
So I have always felt that All Star Week in
just about any sport sans football, Football's week is the
week of the either the week of the Super Bowl
or the week that we take off.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
It's the what needs to be fixed? How can we
fix the game? Week? Right?

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Everyone has their takes this week, man. I say this
week because the NBA doesn't kick off at second half
of the season until Thursday of next week.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
But this week has.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Already become and this All Star weekend has already become
not how to fix the game, It has become what
a joke this All Star game is?

Speaker 2 (14:56):
And it kind of sucks.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Because I think it's really cool with San Francisco hosting,
or the Bay Area or however they're positioning it, and
it's just it's it's a passion It's become a passionate
basketball area because of the success of the Warriors, and
it's one of the more intriguing stories in the second
half of the season, I think. But all the NBA

(15:19):
weekend has become is well, this is dumb. Listen, why
are we doing this?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
This is stupid.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Er Shack dropped an F bomb last night and then
he got paid like fifty million dollars. By the way,
boss man, is that what Scott Scott Shapiro great boss? Incredibly?
Is that what it takes? Just I mean, BRIDI we'd
drop a couple F bombs and get like twenty million.
That's what Shack did, ran around, said he was tired
and dropped two F bombs and boom.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Next day He's like, shats gonna sign a record? Please?

Speaker 9 (15:43):
No, no, no, no, okay, man, I don't have too
many clicks on the dump. If you don't mind, if
you don't mind.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Hey, listen, listen.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
I just finished my FCC training buddy, Where to safe zone?

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Mark? Though?

Speaker 3 (15:58):
But in all seriousness, I I love the NBA.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
I think the biggest problem that the NBA has right
now is nobody wants to talk about the games. And
that's kind of like a sports radio to pay team.
I'm imagining Mark right now in panic, going wait, we're gonna,
are we gonna? We're cussing now? Stop, make sure the
dumb button's.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Ready to go.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
But we're in a world where the games are the
most secondary thing ever you watch. You watch any of
the shows on Fox Sports one or any of the
shows on ESPN.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Are I mean I'll point a fame listen to any
of our shows, right? I mean?

Speaker 3 (16:42):
How often do you tune in to two pros and
a cup of Joe and Jonas and LaVar and Brady
are like breaking down a big game.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
They watched last night in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Oh, how about that performance from you know, Jimmy Butler,
unless Jimmy Butler was traded and then it becomes a
big story because he's on new team. Nobody Ever, I
haven't heard a show talk about an Oklahoma City Thunder
game after they went like seven or eight in a row. Right,
It's just it's the most it's it's out of balance.
And when we come back, I want you guys to
hear from Brian Windhorse, who was on I don't know,

(17:16):
one of the eight thousand podcasts that covers media, and
he kind of gave his opinion about how out of
whack the actual like talking points are with the NBA
because it's more about legacy, it's more about stars being unhappy.
It's more about trades and moves, and it's never about

(17:39):
the game. Now, I'm gonna be very clear here. I
don't expect anyone to come in and get excited about Oh,
I see a shay Gilges Alexander scored like thirty two
last night?

Speaker 2 (17:50):
How about that? I mean, what's up with that sixteen
for thirty two shooting? I know no one.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
I'm not saying we need to become box score talkers
or watchers, and that's never gonna be me and I
don't think that's ever gonna.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Be the show.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
But the NBA, it doesn't have a perception problem. It
obviously doesn't have a financial problem because it just struck
one of the biggest TV deals. It's the biggest tvd
on league history. It's not like their rights fees have diminished.
The NBA has a problem with the way that we
cover it, and we cover it that way. I think

(18:24):
the Royal we because that's what you respond to with
this league. That's what the Royal You seem to be
interested about, not about the games. It's about who wants
to be traded, who's gonna go where, This guy's mad
at that guy. There's drama with this coach, that guy's
sitting out, were pissed about load management? You know, all
these drama filled topics become the major story in the NBA,

(18:48):
and I feel like that's an issue.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
How do you fix it? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Let's let's talk about how you maybe go about fixing it.
But it's just to me, that's the big problem in
the world of the NBA right now. So when we
can I want you guys hear from Brian Windhorse. You know,
he's to me, I think he's one of the brightest
stars covering the NBA, but he's you know, he's just
a guy that either people want to make fun of
or they disregard his information because they consider him to

(19:14):
be kind of a mouthpiece for Lebron James.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
But I think he hit it on the head with
the issue with the NBA.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Right now and as always at eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six
three sixth night, feel free to jump on board. Feel
free to jump on board tonight. Bal'll take a call,
We'll get you on the air. We can dive in
and fixing the NBA. I got so much football on
the program tonight, you'll want to get involved whenever we're
talking about the quarterback battles.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
And you know, in addition to the quarterback battles.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
I just want to put a rap on segment one
with this, Hey Jets, New York, who's ever a run
in the social media sites?

Speaker 2 (19:50):
I don't know what's going on there, but we can.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Stop acting like Aaron Rodgers and the one full season
that he played for you is worthy of these kinds
of tributes. Holy smoke, let the guy go, Thank you
Aaron Mayon, and they know what are we talking about?
It's a busy Program's Chris Plank Show. Bernie's focusing on
Saturday night. I got you on Friday nights right here

(20:13):
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (20:15):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
All right, it's the Plank Show.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Just to be clear, because I know there's a lot
of people that bounce in and out throughout the evening,
and hopefully I know this is gonna be the worst
way to promote this program, but here we go. I
hope everyone gets to sleep. I hope that you're asleep.
But for those of you who are either a wild insomniacs,

(20:50):
b work the third shift, or if you're on the
West Coast just coming home, we're gonna bring some juice.
And Bernie's still here. It's not like, you know, radio
people just magically disappear. It's like what happened to so
and so? Yeah, I don't know. Bernie's Saturday Nights now
and he'll be on tomorrow night so he can. I
don't need to speak for Bernie. It's you know, he's

(21:11):
wanting to focus a little bit more time on family.
This is a really I mean, this is prime real
estate to me. I mean I get to hang with
Brie and Mark every Friday night. Hey, we need to
go ahead and prepare for my days off. Uh, Brie, Mark,
I don't know who handles this all right, but my
birthday my whole life. I have made so much fun

(21:32):
of people that take their birthdays off, So I'm going
to be somebody that takes my birthday off this year.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
You should, I think everybody should hear okay with it?

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Oh? Of course I am turning fifty.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
When is your birthday?

Speaker 2 (21:45):
April twenty third. I'm a Taurus.

Speaker 6 (21:47):
You're a Taurus.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
Oh wow, I'm so glad you said that. Thank you,
because I was just gonna ask you what are you there?

Speaker 10 (21:53):
You go?

Speaker 3 (21:53):
I know, I don't think I've read my horoscope in
like thirty years, but I always I always know whenever
it's like, hey, you might want to remind people because
this is still a big deal.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
It is.

Speaker 6 (22:06):
It is a big deal. That's why I really appreciate
it because.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
I would have asked you and I would have been
really sad if you don't know.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
I'm here for you, Brik.

Speaker 6 (22:13):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
So just plan for that and then there'll probably be
some See.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Someone brought up a really good point on X tonight
at Plank Show, and of course you can always find
us at Fox Sports Radio. See, I have sold myself short, right,
I'm not. And again I'm not here to pat myself
on the back or anything. But I did point out
that none of my teams ever win championships, and truck

(22:39):
or Joe points out that I'm selling myself short. You
have a team that wins it. It just happens to
be Sooner Softball and it counts. That's where I am tonight.
I'm with Sooner Softball tonight. So the show will be
on the road quite a bit, right, but we'll have
fun with it. Man, I'm pumped to be here. So
enough about Hey, welcome to the Plank Show on a
Friday night. Let's bring you some content. Brian Winhorse, I'm

(23:00):
a fan. Okay, I'm just gonna make it very clear.
I like Brian Windhorse. I think he's one of the
sharpest guys that covers the NBA. He was on He
was on the sports media podcast, which again is Austin
krt is the host of a Austin's Another Good Dude,
and they asked him one of my biggest pet peeves

(23:21):
about the NBA. Are we focusing too much on everything
but the actual games.

Speaker 11 (23:28):
I would just say my feel is that the balance
is a little bit off that I think that we
should balance balance it a little bit better. You know,
there are a lot of times on an average NBA
night where there are absolutely amazing performances in some of
these games. For example, this week, there was a game

(23:49):
where the Warriors played in Milwaukee and Johannist didn't play
in the game, and so right off the bat, you're like, man,
you know, that's the game. Less excitement. I think Lillard
had forty eight points and Steph had thirty eight. The
talking points coming out of that game were all about
Jimmy Butler and how he fits with the Warriors and

(24:12):
you know, and whatnot. So my viewpoint is not that
we shouldn't talk about Jimmy Butler. I mean there's a
lot of interest in that stretching that game where there
was incredible shot making back and forth between Steph and Lillard,
and this game in and of itself is not really
that remarkable Austin. It's not that I think it should
be all one way or all the other way. I

(24:32):
think the balance is a little bit off. I think
that there should be some more celebration of the night
to night greatness that we see in the league. Like
when I hear people talk about the state of the
game not being good or being boring, it's an instantaneous
indicator to me that the person who's saying that isn't
really watching the games. I kind of whenever I hear that,

(24:54):
I kind of turn off because I'm really not interested
in what that person keeps saying. Because I guess it's
an individual individual. I guess somebody could say, look, I
just don't like shot making. I would prefer a different style,
and I guess I can I can account for that.
But as somebody who's covered the league for twenty two years,
I reject the notion that the game isn't being played
at an incredible level in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
So again, I I'm not here to tell you that
every show should focus on games from the night.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
Before that's just not reality. That's not that's mundane.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
And there's an eighty two game season and we can't
even figure out putting the All Star break at the
midway point, right, we just can't. We've got to pass
the midway point. It's like, wait, how many games? There's
like twenty five games left in the season. But I
do think that we we do care much more about

(25:45):
the drama around the league than the league itself. So
this weekend's All Star Game Sunday night, and then everything
that leads into its Saturday is in a weekend where
there's just not much going on in the sport or
its world. It should be taking center stage, and it
should be a celebration of the game.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Right, you should out, man, NBA All Star Game, this
is awesome.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
I can't wait to watch, you know, Lebron match up
against Staph or play on the same team with SGA
or whatever. And it's just it's it's it's not gonna
be the topic of conversation. It's gonna be. Man, this
game sucks. Why are we doing it this way? This
is stupid, This is dumb. Can we get to the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (26:26):
And I think that's an now and Also, that's a
very casuals conversation.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
There's a lot of people, like, for instance, I live
in Oklahoma, all right, there might be a patch of
people that are listening tonight in Oklahoma City. They're like,
you're crazy, dude, I love watching the thunder game and
talking about them.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
There might be a patch of people in.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Memphis, or in Houston or you know, out in LA
where it becomes a big story again because of the
Luca MoU It's like, no, this is great, you're you're right,
But it's a very small percentage of people that night
in night out.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Give it am. It's just it's the unfortunate reality for
the league right now. How the the NFL battles that too.
Every Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Every Sunday night, I can guarantee you that Arnie Spaner
and I are gonna go into that and it's gonna
this week sucked or that week sucked, or college football
was terrible. I mean football's not even immune two and
there's only what seventeen games in a regular season for
the NFL in twelve in college football. So but I
do think that's one of the bigger issues when it
comes to the NBA now there's other issues. You guys

(27:23):
have checked in on it. We can take your calls
on it at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine nine six six three sixty nine.
But the big story becomes how can we fix the game?
And not the big storylines for either the second half
are in the game itself.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Did you say?

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Very first up to kick off the show on the
phone tonight is Doc Mike in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Bree Oh that curate. Holy smokes man, I'm not what.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
A way to start our first show in this regular
slot with Doc Mike in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
What's going on, Doc Mike? How are you?

Speaker 12 (28:01):
I'm doing great. I'm wintering in Tucson and Phoenix. I
was in Phoenix all day today. I'm just coming into
Tucson now, in the north end of Tucson, and it's
beautiful weather here. You know, I was in Ecuador for
ten years. I got spoiled about Chicago winters.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
I mean, listen, just so you know, you're heading into
Tucson where tomorrow the high is going to be sixty
four and it's sunny. Meanwhile, it's going to be twenty
six degrees in snowing in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
So good call buddy, good call.

Speaker 12 (28:34):
Well, I did seventy winters in Chicago out and I
just turned eighty in January. Till the last ten years,
I've just taken it easy into Los Angeles, Texas, New Mexico,
and now the last three years in Arizona, and still

(28:55):
the last five years before that Ecuador.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
And still staying up all out hours of the night. Doc, Mike,
that's crazy.

Speaker 12 (29:03):
What do you think I was the legend on Ben's shoulders.

Speaker 10 (29:09):
Dinner time?

Speaker 3 (29:12):
Well, hold on, I don't I know, we can really
get off road in here. But what was the time
difference in Ecuador? How how big of a difference was that?

Speaker 12 (29:21):
Uh? Man, I think it was about three or four hours,
not at all. You know, from Chicago, you got New
York and the Panama Canal I think is a time zone,
and then the one where I was.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Un So, what's on your mind? What? What dream of
phone tonight? Mike?

Speaker 4 (29:41):
What you got a bears?

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Okay?

Speaker 12 (29:47):
You know, for I don't know how many years we
have tried to groom a quarterback. Okay, it just doesn't
happen without an old line. And uh they knew, they
knew that, but for some reason they couldn't get off
their wallets and get an old line to protect all

(30:09):
these quarterbacks. Well, I think, uh, it's not going to
happen this year. It's not probably not going to happen
next year either. And is there you guys know because
you've got your you know, singer on the pulse here.
Why is there such a dirt of offensive lightenment?

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Well, well, I'll tell you this much. And hey, Doc Mike,
thanks for bringing us back to football, buddy, And it's
great to hear your voice. I'm glad you're still kicking
and call anytime you want. Man straight to the front
of line, buddy. Thanks for the call. Why, well, see,
here's the thing I really want to in college football.

(30:53):
In college football, right, let me just I think this
is a good example. We're learning a lesson in college football,
and that lesson is you can't build an offensive line
through free agency the transfer portal. It's you've got to
you got to play some of your young guys and
take your licks and let.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Them develop together.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
In the NFL, I think it's very similar, it is
hard to build an offensive line through free agency. You
have got to have the foundation of that offensive line
to be people that are you know, have been in
your system that know what you're about, and you're not

(31:36):
just plugging in pieces that health is a major part
of this, right. I don't think we're in a situation
where you know, suddenly there's just no offensive lineman. Mike
I and I feel like this year you're gonna have
the interior offensive linemen are getting a lot more talk
and buzz, right, and this year's draft, and you're probably
gonna have two tackles go in the top ten and

(31:59):
maybe you know as many a six or seven in
the first round. But I you know, with what the
Bears have, you know, just look at the Bears for example,
you know, you take Tevin Jenkins as a guy that
you think is going to be a tackle and you
got to move him inside because he's not a tackle
apparently the Oklhoma State product, but he's a.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Guy that you drafted.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
And then you got Brax and Jones, a guy you
drafted first round pick in Darnell.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Right.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
So I don't know with Chicago if it's just a
matter of time, but look at this, Look at the
Super Bowl champions right, look at what the Eagles did
with their offensive line. Did they get a little bit
lucky with Mackay Becton, you bet, and why because they
moved him to guard.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Sometimes.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
You know, it's funny because Robert Gallery names sound familiar
to anyone. Second picking the draft, third picking the draft
when the Raiders took him, busted tackle had a good
career as a guard.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
The Eagles were able to do that by moving him inside.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
But what was the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles off
in line? All guys they drafted, every single one of them.
So to me, I think that the Bears are a
mess there. You're gonna have to get something in free agency.
But Doc, Mike, you got a rock star. And if

(33:18):
you guys really are gonna want to be triggered, I'll
just give you one of my foundational takes, and it
is Caleb Williams is going to be a rock star,
and if the Bears can get the right offensive line
pieces around him, maybe even as soon as this coming season, lookout.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
But in the meantime, I think.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
You're finding your best way to build an offensive line
is to find your guys in the draft, take your
lumps and develop them. Eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six three sixty nine.
We'll get your calls coming up next. Maybe we'll get
an NBA call tonight. Maybe on Fox Sports Radio. All right,
welcome back into the Plank Show right here on Fox
Sports Radio with Brie and Mark. I'm playing We're taking

(33:58):
your calls at eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine nine six six three six ' nine.
I will say Breeze three's wait, Breeze three remain a
part of this program. We also, as I guess you
could say, the season of the show.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
You know, I hope we can do it forever and ever.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
But as the show progresses, well, I love taking calls,
especially during this time slot. I mean, what else are
we going to do if we're all sitting up together,
Let's talk, Let's hang out. But uh like pick all
the all the corny things that every other radio show does.
I don't have a more creative way to do it.
But can't miss shows on TV picks to click movie reviews.

(34:43):
I'm big into movies. Now, all the suddenery. How weird
is this?

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Mark? I turn in my In.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
My birth through forties, I hardly ever went to the
movies like Out of the Womb to my forties.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
I didn't like movie. I'm like, I don't watch it
at home.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
I'm on VHS, so I'll watch it, you know, when
it gets on Netflix or whatever. But all of a sudden,
I'm like, oh, I want to go to the movie theater.
How weird is that?

Speaker 9 (35:06):
Well, the big room makes you feel like, you know
you're going to an event, and maybe you want a popcorn,
maybe you want a dog. You want the event because
you want to sit in a particular place so that
it's going to sound good to you. You hope that,
you hope it's gonna sound good if you want to
have it. You know it looks good and it's you know,
it sounds good. But you just want the experience of

(35:28):
leaving the house, going to buy food and you're seeing
it on the giant screen versus like a computer, which
sometimes I watch reactors and then how could you watch
a movie on a computer?

Speaker 2 (35:40):
But whatever, we do it, we'll do it. We'll do it. Heck.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
I used to, and in my early days I was
so poor that I found the website that illegally streamed
movies and I would sit there and watch someone who
had filmed it.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Now I don't know if the law.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
What's it called whenever you did something so long ago
that they can no longer I'd be right, yeah, I
don't know if that still carries over, you know, to now.
I mean, if we're going back like twenty years. But
I mean I've become a movie buff. So with that
in mind, we'll do a little.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Bit of everything.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
But we're talking NBA. We're talking NBA tonight at least
an hour number one. And uh, I did what is
Laker Mike in Vegas still with us, Brie or did
he be.

Speaker 6 (36:20):
He's all right?

Speaker 3 (36:20):
I want to talk to Laker Mike because there's nobody
right now that's living a better life, it seems than
Laker fan.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Right.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
You go from an uncertain future and now you have
freaking Luca. So Laker Mike, welcome to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (36:33):
Dude, plank baby? The Statute of limitations, that's.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
The word, thank you, you're thank you.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
The two hundred and fifty thousand dollars very much enforced
felony by the by the creators of that content. But
don't worry.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
We're good. We're good.

Speaker 4 (36:54):
This is over. Okay, you're good, You're good. Now here's
the problem with the NBA All Star Games. It has
diminished due to the score of two hundred and fifteen
to two hundred and nine because there's no defense. But
what's even worst plank is that the NBA is not

(37:17):
promoting it this. I've worked with the Lakers for Doctor
Bust for over twenty five years. It was the greatest
gig you can possibly want. And all the promotion of
the NBA All Star Games back in the nineties two
thousand and four at Staples Arena NOL Crypto in twenty

(37:37):
eleven was outstanding, and the Convention Center had the NBA experience.
I don't even hear any advertising for the NBA experience
any longer, but it was amazing. It was a three
A event where ESPN set up cameras and you were
able to go in front of them, and there was

(37:57):
all this memorabilia so on, and so I don't even
see that. Also, we didn't hear about the Rising Stars
Tonight and the celebrity game that was played in Oakland,
and there was all types of people. Barry Bonds was
the coach of one team, Chris Mullins of another.

Speaker 10 (38:17):
There was a.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
Lot for basketball fans and just general fans to enjoy
tonight and there will be tomorrow, but they're not promoting
it that well. And just like this Super Bowl was
downplayed because it's another replayoff two years ago, and this

(38:38):
is another NBA All Star game that is gonna let
you down and waste your time. Don't even bother watching it, right,
it's not true, Chris, It's not good hoops. And the
winner of tonight's Rising Stars knockout games is they are
going to play the eighth All Stars on Sunday. There's

(39:03):
a lot of nuance, but nobody knows about it unless
you're fortunate enough to listen to you tonight, Chris.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
Now I do have to run Laker Mike I And
just to be clear, I really appreciate those props, and
you know what, I might injure my elbow patting myself
on the back a little bit. But hell brouh. I
didn't even know about it until Jason and miket c
right before. I had no idea those guys could advance
the game tomorrow night. I'm sitting here, I'm like, what
are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (39:32):
How? I mean, I've really been ingrained in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
But the games, I'm covering a team that might be
the best story in the NBA, but nobody wants to
care about them because they're a small market in Oklahoma City.
So it's there's so many great stories, buddy, there's so
many great stories. But maybe they'll start to elevate it
when we get to the playoffs. All right, talk in NFL.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
Next, do listen Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
All right, Welcome in to the IRAQ dot com studios.
I think I got so excited last hour because it
was our first hour together here on Friday night into
a Saturday morning, that I failed to mention the greatness
of the people at tire Rack. Go to tire rack
dot com will help you get there, an unmatched selection, fast,

(40:18):
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand
recommended installers. Tire rack dot com the way tire buying
should be. Bertie on Saturday nights. You got me on
Friday nights. I'll also be back with you on Sundays
with Arnie Spaniers. So a little kind of rotating chairs,
if you will. As we head into the NFL off season,

(40:41):
the home stretch of the NBA season and spring training,
and into major League baseball is I mean, are we
gonna talk to.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
Baseball like we're still excited about it?

Speaker 10 (40:51):
Right?

Speaker 3 (40:51):
I mean, I understand that the Dodgers have put together
one heck of a roster and it just keeps getting
better and better and better. But I think I think
were gonna have a fun baseball season now. Full disclosure,
I am a Doyers fan, So I mean that means
I'm life is great right now, but I'll be curious
to see what the baseball vibes are. College basketball today

(41:17):
has something rare happening, and I see baseball or basketball.
College basketball has something rare happening today, and I get it.
It's not two teams that you typically think of as
college basketball like Mecca's blue bloods.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
But you think about them maybe that way.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
In football, Alabama and Auburn are playing later on this
afternoon three o'clock Central for Eastern and it's one versus two.
It's first time it's ever happened between these two programs.
It's the first time it's happened this late in conference
place since twenty sixteen. It's first time we've had a
one versus two matchup in the regular season since UCLA

(41:58):
and Gonzaga in the twenty one to twenty two season,
and I think it was if I remember correctly, I
think it was during the early part of the season,
so like twenty twenty one. With that said, I think
college basketball is having a great season. And if you're
somebody that tonight through our first hour, here's talking about
the NBA, the battle for fixing it, right, because that's

(42:20):
what everybody wants to do this week. How do you
fix the NBA? Well, I will always pause and tell
you they just like quintuppled their media rides. I don't
think you need to fix it. I think people are
still wanting to invest in it. You're not having guys
retire because they don't want to be involved in basketball anymore.
You just have teams that are really good that you're

(42:44):
not used to being really good. And even though Oklahoma
City had a heck of a run during the Drant
Westbrook and even kind of post Heart and Trade era,
they've been off the radar for a while now.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
They're really good.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
Houston was really good whenever I was in college. Don't
look that up. Don't look that up. How long ago
that was for you? Don't do it my roommate was
from Houston. Shouts out to my buddy Robert Harris, but
he was from Houston, and he used to walk around
the living room in the house that we lived in
with the broom and he would talk about the rockets.

(43:19):
Sweeping rockets were a machine. Drexler elijauon Vernon Maxwell. But
they've been pretty irrelevant for a while. Guess what, they're
good again. They're good again. And I kind of see
what's happening in the NBA to a certain degree in
college too, because there's a lot of teams that were
just not used to being really good that are really

(43:40):
good this year and they're fun. And if you allow this.
Arnie and I love Arnie, he's one of my best friends,
but he has this bias where if it's not New
York or LA that is just not good. If it's
not a blue blood in basketball or football, then he
doesn't care. And I think there's a rather large percentage
of people that are like that. If you let your

(44:00):
guard down a little bit and say, all right, I'll
lower myself to enjoy something that's non blue blood, you're
gonna enjoy what's going on in the NBA and in
college basketball and real quick stylistically tonight or this afternoon stylistically,
you could not have two more opposite styles going at it. Natoates,

(44:21):
the Alabama head coach, loves to get up and down
the court. They love to run, they love to get
after it. Meanwhile, Bruce Pearl loves to slow things down,
loves they're gonna play defense, They're gonna get physical, they're
gonna fight you. So college basketball, I think, is demanding
some of your attention and if you if you need

(44:43):
that big time matchup to pull you in, well, ladies
and gentlemen, we've got it for you today. So at
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six sixty three sixty nine, we can talk
a little college basketball. I doubt they'll be the phone
line's blowing up for it. But the bottom line is,
give your cell carve out a little time today to

(45:03):
watch these two teams go out. It's going to be
a great environment. It's a college football campus that is
drunk for college basketball right now, and it's cool to see.
In the meantime, in the NFL, I feel like we
got a buttload of stories we need to talk about
right I feel like we're just getting started on the
NFL off season side of things, right, But in those conversations,

(45:26):
there is one main domino that still needs to fall,
and that is what happens with Matt Stafford. I thought
Colin Coward brought up a fascinating point this week about
the future of Matt Stafford and then in that the
future of the Rams. Could they be in the Aaron
Rodgers sweepstakes. We'll get to that coming up in just
a bit, but first let's go to the phone. At

(45:46):
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Steve is in
Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
What's up, Steve?

Speaker 4 (45:52):
Hey?

Speaker 10 (45:55):
What's that man?

Speaker 2 (45:57):
I'm doing good, Steve. How are you? Man?

Speaker 13 (46:00):
Hey, I've enjoying the wide open college basketball season, but
I think you're honestly way over stat.

Speaker 10 (46:06):
In the NBA.

Speaker 13 (46:07):
The NBA, it's a disaster, man. They're hiding. They're hiding
over the veneer of all these international fee rights. Their
ratings are down but still by fifty percent and hadn't recovered.
They've got to focus on USA versus the world or
to get people are not interested in these new guys.

(46:27):
I hate what hockey's doing to be that guy.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
Kind of what hockey's doing you think.

Speaker 13 (46:32):
Yeah, I hate to be that dude, man, but I
don't think even Luca can can say, well, we'll see.
But I love Okac, I love all day long. I
want to see him win the NBA Championship. But that
ain't the solution to save That's just a solution to
say the NBA and OKC Cleveland Cavaliers we light it

(46:53):
up for are we gonna lock it up for that?
But I wanted to get your opinion on Travis Kelcey
and his repossible retirement. The Athletics said they gave him
a deadline of March to get a hoot. You know
what what it was Patrick and Travis doing in a

(47:14):
restaurant on Saturday morning of the Super Bowl weekend. Even
a staff because of the tabloids, even a staff were
stunned that they were there. I mean, he's gone, the
Travis Travis is just gone. I mean, I don't know what.
I don't know why Patrick was there for that matter.
It wouldn't have it would have changed anything about the game.

(47:36):
But man, that's just a bad That's just a bad,
bad look, even from somebody who loves, who loves my chiefs.
But to be going out and partying thirty six hours
before a game. I mean, it's just I think it's
women taking over. I think it's a female's females taking

(47:57):
over or something. I mean, I like this. I like
Taylor Swift and she's l A six. She ain't that
she ain't that good looking. She's in l A five
and a half. You know, don't don't go down with
this chick man, don't don't don't go down with her.

Speaker 6 (48:14):
What is she in Kansas City?

Speaker 2 (48:16):
What is she?

Speaker 3 (48:17):
That's a great question, Brie Steve. If she's six in
l A, what's she a casey?

Speaker 6 (48:22):
Yeah, I'm curious. What's your opinions?

Speaker 2 (48:25):
Come on?

Speaker 1 (48:25):
Maybe that's what I think.

Speaker 6 (48:28):
I just want to make sure we're on the same page.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Check.

Speaker 13 (48:30):
I'm just I'm just saying that Taylor, I'm okay, Taylor's
been doing too much. That's my only comment is that
she's I like her the way she is. I like
her as a nerd next door nerd girl. She doesn't
have to sex it up and compete with Sabrina Carpenter.
I like her the way she is. She doesn't have
to go crazy with all the medallions on her neck

(48:53):
on her legs or whatever.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
Man, I don't.

Speaker 13 (48:56):
I don't like that. I don't like that. Taylor.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
I appreci the phone call, Steve. I appreciate it, buddy,
I don't. I don't need to go all in depth
on what Taylor Swift looks like. Okay, here's the story
that Steve is talking about, all right, according to.

Speaker 2 (49:16):
Let's see, I'm reading this.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
Off the Daily Mail, Kelsey was spotted out with Taylor Swift,
Patrick Mahomes, and then Mahomes' wife Brittany on Friday night
before the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Head coach Andy.

Speaker 3 (49:32):
Reid revealed his players got some free time on Saturday
afternoon before a team meeting later that night.

Speaker 2 (49:40):
So I mean this. I'm old enough to remember, Bri.
You probably weren't born yet.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
There was Dallas Cowboy fan were there was outrage because
Tony Romo and Jason wenton went on a can coon
vacation to hearing it was either the week off during
the playoffs or like a bye week.

Speaker 6 (50:06):
Or bye week, and I was alive.

Speaker 2 (50:08):
Yes, Okay, Okay, I don't, Steve.

Speaker 3 (50:13):
I don't know if that led to why they were
out of sorts. I can't answer that question. I know
that I have, I will have. There's gonna be shows.
Honesty is the key, by the way, I'm gonna be
a very open book on this program. There's gonna be shows.
Or I'm gonna go to dinner on a Friday night
with friends. What am I talking about? I have no friends.

(50:35):
I'm gonna go to dinner on a Friday night with
my kids or my wife and I might have a
drink maybe too, And you know what, I'm gonna be
fine to do the show. So if you're trying to
say that they were like drunk or something, or they
got too I don't I don't know. I don't know
how they handle things right, by the way, Scott Shapiro
right now typing out a text saying do not drink
while you're doing this show.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
You got a boss promise. But in all seriousness, thank you,
thank you. I don't know how that affected it. I
don't think Andy Reid cares.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
I don't think he has a problem with it. It's
just very high profile because it's Taylor Swift. Now, Steve,
if you want to ask, does Travis Kelcey need to
come back to the Chiefs, I would say he's good
to go ahead and retire. I know everyone wants to
go out on top, but not everyone can be John Elway.

(51:25):
Not everyone can be that guy where you just happen
to get it right and you walk away holding up
the Lombardi Trophy. It's more often chasing another ring or
another run that ends up putting you in a really
bad spot. And I mean, if anything, if you're Kansas City,

(51:48):
I think you've got to go to Travis Kelce.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
And ask him to lower that number.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
I know he's only got one year left on his contract,
but it's a lot of money to pay a tight
end that's not worth that kind of money. The Travis
kelcey that played against the Texans was the Travis kelce.
The Travis kelce that played against the Texans every single
time they played the freaking Raiders is the Travis kelce
that we've seen a majority of his career.

Speaker 2 (52:16):
But it's not the Travis Kelce that we've consistently seen
the last couple of seasons. He's getting older. Man.

Speaker 3 (52:23):
There's it's kind of funny because it's the old the
Jim Rome take right. Uh, there's three things that are
undefeated in life, you know, death, death, old age, right, father, time,
I think was what ROMY used to say, taxes and women.
And I don't think that Taylor Swift has anything to

(52:44):
do with the downfall of Travis Kelcey. I think his
struggles have come because he's getting older. Man, He's played
a lot of football and he's he's played a position
that's I mean, it's very physical, and he's.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
A physical player. So I know it sucks, but I
think there's enough.

Speaker 3 (53:02):
And by the way, I'm kind of on Kelsey overload too,
Like I think they're both very talented and they're funny dudes,
but I mean we got Jason Kelcey crying over people
and how they perceived who he was rooting for. Like,
what are we even doing right now? I think that's
where we reach the We've already jumped the shark once, right,
we're jumping the shark with Kelsey brothers, and I just

(53:23):
I don't know if he can be that guy. And
final thought on it, Steve, since you asked, you're going
into maybe the deepest tight end draft that we've ever
had ever and from what all the draft nerds are
telling us you can get and which is why I

(53:44):
don't think they're gonna resign Isaiah Checko, because there's like
forty draftable running backs in this draft, and there's at
least twenty to twenty five tight ends. So you're gonna
find at least one, if not two tight ends that
you could like in this draft. So I don't Steve,
I love the call. I don't think Travis Kelsey is
going to be achieved next year. I think he's going

(54:05):
to retire, and I think that's what he needs to do.
Thinks time to move on, all right? Eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox. Let's get Gunner in Minnesota. Gunner,
good to hear your voice. Man, what's going on?

Speaker 13 (54:17):
You know?

Speaker 4 (54:18):
Just wine that fix the nab as well, It's just
I think it's missed up the.

Speaker 3 (54:25):
Okay, okay, So your idea is to mix up the conferences?

Speaker 2 (54:30):
All right, show show your work? How what do you
want to see? Well?

Speaker 13 (54:33):
I think.

Speaker 4 (54:35):
Okay.

Speaker 12 (54:36):
So we're talking about the expansion when I've been here
in Mansoa?

Speaker 3 (54:44):
Are you calling from mars? I mean, I I want
to be able to talk. Your phone connection sucks, Gunner.
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (54:51):
Man?

Speaker 10 (54:52):
Does?

Speaker 4 (54:53):
It's?

Speaker 2 (54:56):
All right? Okay, listen.

Speaker 3 (55:00):
So your idea is with expansion, you think that the
best idea would be too and I would assume you're
thinking the expansion is what Vegas in Seattle, maybe Nashville
getting involved? Yes, but well, I appreciate the phone call
even though it was the worst. Go back and listen
to podcasts. Buddy, I love you. I want you to

(55:20):
call this show a lot. If necessary, I'll buy you
a new phone. Can I send him a comrades unit?

Speaker 2 (55:25):
That was that?

Speaker 5 (55:26):
Me?

Speaker 2 (55:26):
Was that my connection? Brian?

Speaker 6 (55:27):
I don't know it was really. I had to ask
him like six times.

Speaker 5 (55:30):
I'm like, who is this And the only reason why
I even knew it was him because I know he's
a caller on Ben Show, And I was like, oh,
Gunner in Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
Of course, I love Gunner. Gunner, I love you.

Speaker 6 (55:39):
Yeah, I gotta fix that phone.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
We gotta fix that phone. I uh, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (55:46):
I don't think reshuffling divisions is going to help it.
I don't mind the idea you're going to have to
do something, But I mean, do you even remember who
who won divisions last year? Is every so often all
the standings, I look at who's at the top of
the West, and then I look at the teams that
are battling in the playing tournament, and then those that
are right on the outside.

Speaker 2 (56:07):
That's what I look at.

Speaker 3 (56:08):
I don't even know without without like pulling up the website,
I don't even know if I could tell you, like.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
What all the divisions are. I mean, it's just I
don't think it's that important.

Speaker 3 (56:17):
Now, if you want to talk about shifting some teams
from the East to the West, okay, let's have that conversation,
that might make a little bit more sense. But division wise.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
Eugh, I don't know, dude.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
I will say the one, the one idea in this
week of fixing the NBA. Look, I finally got an
NBA call. Oh that's right, I'm sorry. Laker Mike called
last hour to talk NBA with me, so.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
We had that.

Speaker 3 (56:44):
I found myself intrigued by Adam Silver's ten minute quarter conversation.

Speaker 2 (56:52):
I don't know if it's going to happen. You know,
it's the NBA.

Speaker 3 (56:59):
Is well, college basketball is the only sport that has
two halves, right, And I still don't understand why women's
basketball finally split into quarters like four or five years ago.
And it's mate, it's it seems like it's a faster
moving game. I don't know if it's a We were
joking earlier talking about how I'm a big vitamin taker
now because I'm getting old, But I don't know. I

(57:21):
feel better, and I don't know if it's a placebo.
But I kind of wonder if that's like watching women's
basketball now that it's gone in college from two.

Speaker 2 (57:29):
Halves to four quarters.

Speaker 3 (57:30):
I don't know if it's a placebo, and it's messing
with my mind, but it seems like the games are quicker.
I understand the idea that Adam Silver brought up, and
I'm here for it because anymore, you know, you need
you need these events to fit into a time frame.
You need them to fit into a timeframe. And I've

(57:51):
always been of the belief that if you go to
a sporting event and the first thing on your mind
is how quickly you can get out of there, I
think you're doing the wrong thing.

Speaker 2 (58:01):
You know, it's like, oh, gosh, okay, so this is
starting summer. Are we gonna be done here by nine?

Speaker 3 (58:07):
No one wants to be that person at a sporting event,
But in our it's I can't even say microwave society anymore.

Speaker 2 (58:14):
That's the most gen X thing ever, But.

Speaker 3 (58:16):
In our you know, head on our phone society, in
our you know, it's a twelve second Instagram click, you know.
I I've been blessed enough to work at the University
of Oklahoma in Norman, right for about a decade now,
and it's wild to where these these kids coming through.
They wanted to major and learn about being you know,

(58:38):
camera guy or you know, producer or director or behind
the scene. Now they want to be content creators where
it's all ya, we want to make the hype videos
and we want to be the person that does the
you know, the fifteen six fifteen second social clip. It's
a completely different world. So with that in mind, that's
where I think it's okay to say, all right, well

(58:58):
we can not necessarily shorten the game, but maybe speed
it up, you know, easier to digest nuggets.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
Where are you super serving the casuals? Yes, but that's
what we do in everything, man, That's what we do
in everything. All right, we gotta break.

Speaker 3 (59:15):
I'm sorry, I'm getting way over my skis here and
way ahead of myself with this topic. But I'd love
to hear from you on at eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (59:24):
When we come back.

Speaker 3 (59:26):
I thought Colin Cowhard had one of the most intriguing
quarterback scenarios of the week of the off season. We'll
dive into it next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (59:37):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
Ah right, welcome back into the Plank Show here on
Fox Sports Radio. We got one versus two coming up
today in college basketball just doesn't happen to very often.
One versus two, Alabama versus Auburn. The All Star break
is here for the NBA, and I like to refer
to this as the week where we try to fix
the sport. But I think, as we've discovered on this

(01:00:13):
program tonight, people are more interested in well not necessarily
our callers, but just people are more interested in complaining
about the new format and then kind of where the
NBA has got some good tweets on that x x's
submissions whatever. We'll hit those coming up in just a bit.
But I listen to way too much sports radio. I'll

(01:00:37):
just call myself out I way too much. If there
is ever I was real big into murder podcast for
a while, like true crime podcasts, but now every single
one of them like they embed some sort of political
message in them. And I'm the most a political dude
you'll ever meet in your life. So if there is
one promise I can make to you on these three.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
Hours, we will not be talking politics. It just won't happen.
And it really it's a big turn off for me.

Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
So my world of true crime has now become my
world of Fox Sports Radio and Dan Patrick and obviously
I listen to way too much sports radio and so
that it becomes like white noise sometimes, right, And I
don't want that show to be this. I want it
to be interactive, entertaining and fun. And Colin Coward got

(01:01:25):
me in that in like a sit up in my
chair moment this week. You ever see them, I think
it's a meme where it's the guy sitting there with
the video game console then all of a sudden you
see him kind of sit up.

Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Mary.

Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
He's got to saying when your son starts beating you
in the video game and you sit up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
That got me so I want to play part of it.

Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
It's it's on Twitter, I mean and you hear the
promo in here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
But Colin has contacts, you know, he's got sources.

Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
I don't think he throws s off the wall and
sees if it sticks, people talk to him. He's got
a very high profile agent. So I think sometimes people
will get on those that are content creators like Colin
and Dan Patrick, and like, oh, you came up with this.

Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
One person gave me the idea.

Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
You go with it because people like me and you
and Brie and mart we're going to click on it
and talk about it, right. I don't think that's the
case here. I think there's some juice behind this. So
without further ado, Colin Coward lays out a scenario where
what where Matt Stafford could be a Giant and his
replacement could be Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 8 (01:02:33):
I believe Aaron is craving infrastructure stability, head coach, He
respects organizational excellence. If the Rams do move down and
do get the giants number one pick, don't be surprised
if they don't draft Team Act the Arizona wide receiver
to replace Cooper Cupp, who they're.

Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
Moving off of. He is easily the.

Speaker 8 (01:02:56):
Best receiver in this draft. So this sounds crazy. Matt
Stafford of the Giants thing is real. I'm told, I
am told they like Matt Stafford, but he's old. Let's
be honest. You look at the playoffs. There were two
in mobile quarterbacks, Stafford and Golf. It is a mobile
quarterback league. We just had another mobile quarterback. Win Brady's
the last pocket guy, right, like that's Stafford's the last

(01:03:20):
great pocket quarterback. Ramsmont inexpensive rental quarterback for one year. So,
and I'll say this again, giving Aaron Rodgers the key
keys to the kingdom. I'm not interested in that. I
know what his personality is, right, I'm not interested in that.
But having Aaron come as at one or a two

(01:03:41):
year rental rehab. Absolutely Aaron to the Rams, Stafford to
the Giants. Remember Aaron Rodgers last year with a third
tier coaching staff, through more touchdown passes than Patrick Mahomes,
Jay and Daniels and Justin Herbert.

Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
Okay, let's go quickly round the room on this one, Brie.
I noticed you had a visceral reaction to this. You
say no on any of this. Stafford to the Giants talk.

Speaker 6 (01:04:14):
Yes, because I want Jared Carr to go to the Giants.
I think that would be a better fit for him.

Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
Okay, here's my quarterback puzzle pieces. How I see them fitting.
Adam Schefter was very quick to come out and say
that the Giants are not trading the number three pick
in the draft, and to be honest, I don't think

(01:04:39):
if I'm Joe Shane or Brian Daball, I know you've
got to win now. Both of them are coaching for
their jobs, right, But you're already on thin ice because
Saquan your owner, was there in the room and said
I can't live with myself if he goes to Philadelphia
and into title and it happened. So in my mind, Brie,

(01:05:03):
I don't think they're gonna move off number three.

Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
And in fairness, I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
I don't know that I would give up a first
round pick for Matt Stafford.

Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
I mean, I like him a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
He's he's a really good quarterback, but he hasn't been
able to stay on the field the last few years.
This year he was healthy and got through a majority
of the season, but he's also thirty seven years old, right,
So if I'm the Giants, I like the idea of

(01:05:38):
going and getting Matt Stafford.

Speaker 2 (01:05:40):
I do, but.

Speaker 3 (01:05:43):
This guy's played all seventeen games and he could have
this year. They sat him in the last week, but
in the last four years it's only happened twice, and
you're gonna need him for all seventeen in that division
to win. And I think my opinion, if at three

(01:06:04):
cam Ward is there, everyone's starting to dump oncha door Sanders.
I don't know why dude's stud or maybe you fall
in love nobody. By the way, at this point last year,
there wasn't a single soul that had Michael Pinnock's.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Going as high as he went in the draft.

Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
The ceiling for Michael Pennocks was the Raiders, and I
think they were at what nine or ten last year.
No one had him going today. I mean, it's just
first seven wherever he went to the Falcons. So there's
somebody that you know, is maybe it's Jackson Dark, maybe
it's Jalen Milroe, maybe it's Quinn. You ors, there's gonna
be somebody that's gonna jump up draft boards. You know
it's gonna happen. But here's my theory, Brie, I don't think.

(01:06:46):
I don't think the Rams can move off Matt Stafford
bringing Aaron Rodgers and not have a future plan right now.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
I just I don't think you can. And I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
I meant Colin. Colin has destroyed Aaron Rodgers for like
two years. Like he is absolutely There's times when I'm listening,
I'm like, oh, geez man, that's that hurts.

Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
That's spot on. But he is right about the production.
It was pretty good down the stretch this season.

Speaker 3 (01:07:20):
So I don't know, I don't. I don't see Aaron
Rodgers landing in Los Angeles. I see the Rams. They're
pretty close this year. I see the Rams running it
back with Stafford. And if you think Tedoroe McMillan is
going to go three, four, five, okay, But I mean
it's just I don't think that he's nearly as good

(01:07:42):
as Marvin Harrison Junior. And Marvin Harrison Jr. Won what
third last year. So again, I don't think the Giants
pick is in play. I don't think they're gonna give
up three to go get Matt Stafford. But I am
fascinated about the idea of Stafford to the Giants and
on to the Rams.

Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
Now he posed this to you, what.

Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
If Aaron Rodgers was in New York and he was
the starting quarterback for the Giants.

Speaker 5 (01:08:09):
I was gonna say, if he stayed in New York
and just like went across the bridge, yeah right.

Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
I mean to me, that would make more sense than
the Giants dumping their third round pick and getting Matt
Stafford and watching Aaron Rodgers go to what do we
just say, the Rams. I think I think Aaron Rodgers
is gonna end up with the Giants, or the Titans
or the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
And I think the Raiders become interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
If Tom Brady, who is calling a lot of the
shots now, if he and Spytech, the new general manager
for the Raiders, which is an awesome name, if they
feel like Aaron Rodgers can win them games, then I
think they're gonna make a play for him. I think
they are, and they're gonna draft a quarterback it's Jackson Darter,
if it's you know, should or Sanders. If he's there

(01:08:59):
at six, this can be a bridge, right, We use
that term a lot. I think there's a really good
chance Derek carrins up.

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
With the Jets.

Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
I mean, you go into that situation where I mean
Davante Adams has said he wants out, but you know,
I got a decent offensive line. He had when Aaron
Rodgers went to the Jets two years ago when he
got hurt, what did we all think? Damn, that's a
pretty good situation. I mean, they got offensive line, they've
invested in, They've got receivers, got young, got jams, and

(01:09:27):
you know, they had all the Garrett Wilson they have all.

Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
They had everything, Brice Hall's future rock star, Robert.

Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
Salas, got the defense cooking, but then it just it
never really materialized.

Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:09:39):
So if I'm just looking at those names, I mean, Brie,
doesn't it make more sense if you're the Giants instead
of going to get Stafford just saying well, let's look
at Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
And if it's not Aaron Rodgers, I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:09:53):
If Brian dave Ball is a quarterback whisper, which it
didn't work for Daniel Jones, but if he truly is
and that can be him, then I feel like you
could it'll take a shot on Kirk Cousins. Who's gonna
spend on Sam Darnold in your opinion?

Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
Right now?

Speaker 5 (01:10:08):
I'm just I don't know, Like the Titans, I could
see the Titans.

Speaker 3 (01:10:12):
Could see the Titans. Yeah here, let me read this list.
This is cbssports dot Com.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
We'll do this year.

Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
It's the Plank Show here on Fox Sports Radio, coming
to you live from the tire Rack dot Com studios.
We'll be here every Friday night. Bernie's gonna shift his
focus to his Saturday show. That's free. That's Mark. We'll
hit your tweets coming up next. CBS Sports had the
landing spots for the top free agents.

Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
All right, so you're ready, Here we go.

Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
Sam Darnald re signing with the Vikings on a three year,
one hundred and fourteen million dollar deal. Now this would
be shocking to me because all I see is Vikings
fans telling me that JJ McCarthy is the next great
thing in that he had his red shirt ear and

(01:10:59):
now it'll be healthy and ready to go. That's so,
it didn't end well for Donald in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
It didn't end well at the end of.

Speaker 3 (01:11:09):
The regular season, but it's hard to argue with thirty
five touchdowns and just twelve picks. Oh and, by the way,
a completion percentage near seventy. So that's a projection on
Sam Darnold. They project Russell Wilson to return to the Steelers.
A forgotten name in this mix, Justin Fields cbssports dot

(01:11:30):
com says signs with the Raiders on a one year,
eleven million dollar deal. Remember who's the raiders new offensive coordinator,
Chip Kelly. What do we feel like he needs in
his offense?

Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
A mobile quarterback? Gino Smith?

Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
They have the Seahawks keeping him on a restructured contract.
Kirk Cousins signing with the Browns on a one year,
two million dollar deal, Rogers to the Titans, Derek Carr
on a one year deal to the Colts. With cam
Ward getting drafted by the Jets and Sador Sanders by

(01:12:09):
the Giants. So I was a little bit taken back
by a quarterback not going number one.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
But maybe the you.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
Know, the Titans team came back, came out a while
back and said I'm not going to pass on a
generational player. So does that mean Travis Hunter? Does that
mean Abdiel Carter? There, doesn't mean cam Ward. But they've
projected Aaron Rodgers to the Titans.

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:12:38):
I think Aaron Rodgers isn't just going to go. I
think Colin Coward's one hundred percent right. He's just not
going to go to a place that's offering him a contract.
He's going to go to a place that he thinks
can win. And none of those by Cody Benjamin are
nearly as sexy as the Giants trading the third pick
to go get Matt Stafford at Aaron Rodgers ending up

(01:12:58):
with the Rams.

Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
Cody are too logical on this, my friend.

Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
I got a few more thoughts on quarterbacks we'll dive into.
And next it's Plank Show right here on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, welcome back into the Plank Show right here
on Fox Sports Radio. Good phone calls early. I got
a little content for you, in fact, coming up next hour.
Nobody had a better week than this guy. It's coming up.

(01:13:26):
I'm what's my Jonas Knox here? Oh, it's coming up
in fifteen minutes from now. Best week ever, best week ever,
and it's one of our friends here on Fox Sports Radio.
In the meantime when it's some of your tweets, they've
been really good. Appreciate you guys interacting tonight at Plank Show.
That's the best way to find us.

Speaker 9 (01:13:47):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
Brianna is at Breed Denise twenty six who'd you say
the twenty six is four?

Speaker 6 (01:13:52):
Kyle Korn, Kyle Korver, Yes, my god.

Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
Wait, was Kyle Korver the one that kind of started
losing his mind on social media and everyone was wary
about him?

Speaker 5 (01:14:00):
Oh no, no, Thanky Singer Singer, Maybe Kyle Singer.

Speaker 6 (01:14:05):
Yeah, the Duke, Yeah, the Duke Forward.

Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
People like worried about him. Yeah, that's how I found out.
I was following him on Instagrams. I saw one of
those very concerning videos.

Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
Uh. Anyway, for Kyle Korver. That's how you can find Brianna.

Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
And of course everybody should be follow us, following us
at Fox Sports Radio. Mark is smart. He does not
indulge in your social media. Nature Boy writes, how does
Max Crosby for Deebo Samuel sound to you? I think
this is going to be an interesting off season for
pass rushers. In fact, kicking off next our biggest offseason storylines.

(01:14:45):
I think the future of Miles Garrett is huge, massive,
and now you got what rumblings And I don't know
if this was you know, Mike Florio manufactured, or if
there's something to it, but the buzz that may be
part of the the Miles Garrett trade would be throwing
in the Shawn Watson. But if you're if you're throwing

(01:15:08):
in that contract, aren't you minimizing the value you're gonna
get back for Miles Garrett. Anyway, Max Crosby, I want
to be confident nature boy and say he's not going anywhere.
But the last time I stood confidently on this network
and said Khalil Mack is not going anywhere, he was

(01:15:32):
traded the next day. So I just I'm trying to
learn from my mistakes. Prie Mark, I'm trying to come
smart person. But I feel really good about This is
gonna sound like the craziest thing I've said ever.

Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
I feel really good about the direction of the Raiders. Now.
I don't know who the hell is going.

Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
To play quarterback, but I think if you're Max Crosby,
you gotta feel a little bit better about things. Speaking
of that, Jason Wrights listening to you guys to the
QB rule that I wouldn't hate Justin Fields and Chip
Kelly's offense with our Raiders.

Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
In fact, I would downright love it.

Speaker 3 (01:16:07):
An emotional response I haven't had for this team in
a super long time. Now again, honesty, we're gonna be
honest with each other. Okay, full disclosure. I was standing
in line to buy a treell Prior Jersey, Okay, I
mean that was just I thought he was the future.
He had that what ninety eight yard run against the Steelers,

(01:16:29):
I'm like, no one's stopping him, and then you know
that whole thing about throwing the football. That quarterback became
a problem. Part of the reason why I loved there
at car Brie is because he gave the Raiders stability
at a position that they hadn't had stability at since
Rich Gannon. And I don't I don't think NFL fans

(01:16:50):
that have stability at quarterback really truly understand what it's
like when you don't ask a Colts fan right now,
and they're the most spoiled of everybody with quarterback stability
for Manning to Luck. I know Andrew Luck cut it short,
but look at the hell that's been that QB position since.

(01:17:13):
I think there wasn't there like a Philip Rivers year
in there. I think there was a Matt Ryan year,
maybe a Nick Foles in there. I think there was
like two Jacoby Brissette stints. It's hard and now you
get a quarterback, and Anthony Richardson that is struggling with
throwing the football.

Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
Quarterback stability is a.

Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
Good thing to have because it always puts you in
a position where you feel like you can win a
football game. Raiders don't have that, Giants don't have that,
Titans don't have that. And you're not going to be
a successful franchise and winning franchise until you get it.
I don't know why I felt like I needed to
over explain my fandom for Derek Carr, but there you go.

(01:17:51):
You gotta have a fall, guys, Truck or Joe, he writes,
So Rogers to the Raiders. Does that mean Adams comes
back as well? No, I think I can guarantee you
two things. Well, I can't guarantee you a damn thing,
but I'll at least try. Dante Adams will not be
a Raider, nor will he be a Packer. A couple

(01:18:14):
of NBA takes here real quick, Madaman Sports respectfully, the
lack of defense is what is what makes it we're
talking about the NBA games is a joke. Regular season
NBA basketball is the most missible televised sport in the game. Unfortunately,
load management, no defense, very little competitive energy from the stars,

(01:18:39):
or if you are one of the twelve Pelican fans
out there like me, it's that your front office is
completely an e f and has not given you any
reason to want to watch this dumpster fire they're putting
out night in a night out traded bi kept the
most injury prone star in the league.

Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
Yeah, I feel you, buddy. You know what's funny about that?

Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
We are what maybe like five years removed mad Man
from when David Griffith was the toast of the NBA.
Look what he got for Anthony Davis. Oh my gosh.
They ended up with the top pick in the draft.
They got Zion Williamson. They beat the Thunder in a
playing game a couple of years ago, and now it's

(01:19:21):
just a disaster. So I feel you, and I think
that that adds to your frustration a little bit more
because your team stinks.

Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
But it is very missible. We're talking NFL. Next, you're listening.

Speaker 3 (01:19:35):
To Fox Sports Radio, Wow Final Hour, Welcome in Bernie's
on Tomorrow night. I'm Chris Plank and this is the
Plank Show coming to your laugh from the tire rack
dot Com Studios. Tire rack dot Com we'll help you
get there. Unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,

(01:19:57):
and over ten thousand are recommended stallers tire rack dot
com The way tire buying should be reset in some
of our top stories tonight, you know, we really haven't
spent time looking back on the week that was for
the Super Bowl champs. Maybe we'll slide that. I plan
on doing that in the first hour. But to be

(01:20:17):
honest with you, the NBA talk took off tonight and
I've joked and I don't even know if it's a
joke anymore. It kind of fits every All Star break,
the MLB All Star Break, the NBA All Star break.
I mean, NHL just doesn't quite have the audience, but
I mean even daring when they would take their All

(01:20:40):
Star break and when they're away from the game, it's
always a conversation about fixing. How do you fix this sport?
How do you fix this league? How do you fix
this to make it better. The NFL's week is usually
what if it's not Super Bowl Week, it's that off
week before the Super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
How do we fix this sport?

Speaker 3 (01:20:56):
And in the NBA it's kind of more into what
do we doing to the All Star Game.

Speaker 2 (01:21:02):
How did we get to this point?

Speaker 3 (01:21:05):
So let me just hit three quick things that I
think because it's been very heated, heated on Twitter tonight
on those that believe in this league and and love
the day to day of it and those who just
can't stand it. There is no gray area, it seems

(01:21:25):
with the NBA, right, I mean, pre think about it,
there's no you know, I watched it every now and
then and I like it, It's okay, it's oh I
love it, or it's the worst. Right, There's no there's
no middle ground when it comes to this league. So
let me let me attempt to give you a couple
of storylines and I think are gonna be big in
the second half of the season, and then we'll get
your call to eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
Hang in there, drum, I'm getting right to you.

Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
I wonder how the late moves at the trade deadline
are going to affect the overall chase, Like, for instance,
right now, if you haven't looked at the standings very
recently in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors, they're not
in a good place. They're currently the tenth seed. They're

(01:22:11):
a game and a half up on Breeze Phoenix Suns.

Speaker 6 (01:22:15):
They get that, right, Yeah, that's accurate.

Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
Sorry again, a team that they swung for the fences,
got to give him that. But they're a game and
a half up on the Phoenix Suns for the final
playoff spot. Not like to get into playoffs, to get
into playing tournament. But when Traymond Green says this, it

(01:22:38):
perks your ears up a little bit. At least it
did mine. And I don't know if I want to
buy into it. I don't know if he's I don't know, pedaling,
just a line of BS. I mean, it's Draymond. But
when he says this about Jimmy, I'm like, okay, you
got my attention.

Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
He's a franchise changer. He's done that everywhere he's gone,
and he is helping revitalize what we got here.

Speaker 10 (01:23:04):
The belief amongst this team now that he's a RAH
as opposed to what it was before he got here.

Speaker 2 (01:23:10):
It's night and day.

Speaker 3 (01:23:12):
It's not some sort of insurmountable push to find yourself
sitting in like the five seed. You're four and a half,
five and a half games back of the Lakers, I
mean twenty five games ago.

Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
You need some teams to fall apart in front of you,
but we've seen it happen.

Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
So I'm just trying to make the case for Golden State,
Treymond Steph and now Jimmy Butler being more entertaining. I mean,
Luca and the Lakers. How did you hear what Lucas
said when he talked about playing with Lebron?

Speaker 14 (01:23:44):
I mean, especially that, I mean he seesn't gaming a
different way than a lot of people, and then he's
the accusingsane and it's just, you know, have two guys
on that on court. I think it's going to help
the whole team out.

Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
Yeah, I mean, we had the lead league set on
its ear unlike we have in a long time at
the trade deadline. And part of it might be that
in the East, I don't think anyone's gonna catch Cleveland,
and in the West, I don't think anyone's gonna catch
Oklahoma City. Lakers weren't gonna win a title with the
core they had there, so they had to make a move.

(01:24:17):
Warriors were fighting to get in the play in and
they had to make a move. I don't know, I mean,
those are two marquee franchises in the NBA, and I
think if they can get better and the Lakers are
not a bad team, and they weren't a bad team
even before the trade.

Speaker 2 (01:24:33):
Anthony Davis was playing out of his mind.

Speaker 3 (01:24:36):
But I don't know if it's enough to pull everyone
back in, And I don't know if it needs to
happen in the NBA. Doesn't need one hundred percent buy in.
It just needs to not be completely and totally as
polarizing as it is so eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox. If you want to jump in on it,
let's go who had the best week ever?

Speaker 2 (01:24:57):
Oh? You know who he is.

Speaker 3 (01:24:58):
We're getting to it next, but first I want to
get Jerome and Charleston in here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
What's going on? Jerme, I've seen some.

Speaker 10 (01:25:06):
Of the look. I can't stand the appreciating in the
ab Okay. It drives me up and down a wall
every time I watch again because I'm screaming at the
television or I'm curting. I just can't stand it. Man,
when they don't call fouls, the little traveling cammon, little
three seconds. I didn't go out watching basketball like that.

(01:25:30):
That come on, it's discussing, But I still like watching basketball,
and I just want to say that that Lillard when
he's downed in when he's right, he's incredible because I mean,
here's all the suck, the way he can stick a
jump hunt and so low.

Speaker 6 (01:25:47):
He's not that big.

Speaker 10 (01:25:49):
He just but I got a story for you. There's
a transfer to the guy that just left the transfer
pauland got picked up. And his name's Ali Orgy. He's
transferring from Michigan to Ohio Speed. Oh no he didn't,
Yes he did.

Speaker 4 (01:26:08):
You know?

Speaker 10 (01:26:08):
He was like their starting quarterback at the beginning of
the year. The guy's attacked six two twenty five he got.
I look, my body has never looked like that my
whole life. Okay, I can only dream of having a
body right there for a man. You're just transferring from
Michigan to Ohio State. And he's got some he's got

(01:26:31):
some skills, a vacant fives and played for him and
get him right. He can help him next year.

Speaker 1 (01:26:38):
Yah.

Speaker 10 (01:26:39):
Man that in sestuous Man, you're freaking what they had
of me.

Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
You're doing that well, jerm I appreciate your phone call,
Jouem and Charleston. I've got some good news for you
alex Orgy, who I mean Alex organ When he came
in the game, everybody what he was doing. He was
running the football, couldn't throw it, but a freak. Bruce Felderman,
who writes for the Athletic Fox Sports, Bruce Feldman had

(01:27:08):
him on his freaks list right in the freak's list.
For Bruce Felderman is the most athletically freaky players in
college football. He had alex Orgy on it. But good news, buddy,
he's transferring to UNLV now. Dan Mullen is now the
head coach at UNLV, so that might be able to

(01:27:29):
help him out a little bit. But you don't have
to worry about what did he use the term in
such incestuous, that big term. But about a month ago
he announced he was transferring to un LV. I understand
there is some scarlet and some gray, so maybe he
got a little confusing there, Joan.

Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
But yeah, no, alex Orgi is going to UNLV.

Speaker 3 (01:27:54):
To his previous point, I understand, well, you have old
heads like me and like you Jerome, like, man, where's
the defense in the game?

Speaker 2 (01:28:03):
We got a why are we not playing defense?

Speaker 3 (01:28:05):
But then when you watch a game and it's like
final score tonight was eighty eight to eighty five.

Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
You're like, oh, that game sucked. No, I can't even
score and.

Speaker 3 (01:28:16):
We want a good balance, man, we don't need the
College basketball is the most ridiculous either all defense or
all offense that you can see.

Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
Man, it is there is no middle ground. You don't
get a good balanced game.

Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
Often it's either an absolute up and down the court
score fest, or it's a final score sixty to fifty
five boar fest.

Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
And the boar fest has worked for a couple teams
to win the title.

Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
So I you know, officiating, it's just it's always going
to be what it is, and it's always going to
be terrible in every single sport. When was the when
was the last time you ever walked out of a
sporting event, bree when Like that was a real.

Speaker 2 (01:29:00):
Well officiated game. I think the officials did a good job. No,
never happens in any sports ever.

Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
All Right, Breeze three is coming up in just a bit,
But I got a tip a cap here, Okay, I
gotta take a moment to pay homage to a legend.
In this world of hot takers, it is very hard
to carve out your own niche because let me tell

(01:29:28):
you something, there's some hot takes out there, scorching hot. Now,
I gotta deal with this every Sunday night. In the
span of the ten years at Arnie and I have
done a show together, he wanted to at I think
at one point give Ryan Fitzpatrick a lifetime contract because
the Bucks started three to oh one year. I think

(01:29:48):
there was a Joel Embiid was never gonna play for
the Sixers again was another one because of how he
played in the Olympics. Well, there's countless times that the
Dolphins We're gonna win the Super Bowl, right, But I
think we reached pinnacle hot take this week. Nobody in
this business. My friend Colin came close. Colin came close

(01:30:11):
with the quarterback conversation about Stafford to the Giants and
Aaron Rodgers to the Rams.

Speaker 2 (01:30:19):
Nobody had a better week than Rob Parker. First.

Speaker 3 (01:30:24):
First, on the Monday after the Super Bowl, Rob Parker
the Odd Couple dropped this doozy here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 15 (01:30:34):
Andy, we should step down as head coach of the
Kansas City Chiefs, and you're gonna be like they just
went to the Super Bowl three times?

Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
Andy, wee blah, blah blah blah.

Speaker 15 (01:30:42):
This is not a one game reaction because they lost
in the Super Bowl and they got boat raised and
it was forty to six.

Speaker 2 (01:30:49):
Where were the adjustments? Where was the game plan?

Speaker 15 (01:30:52):
Not even I'm not I'm not a football coach, Guys
who are football coaches and questioned the game plan, running
game to start at all, and then you get behind,
you gotta pass. This is what he did in Philadelphia,
all the time, pass happy, always throwing the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
They got tired of that in Philadelphia. Number two. This
fall off the cliff is two years in the making.

Speaker 15 (01:31:16):
Last year they won the Super Bowl, so it kind
of covered up how bad things were. You remember with
the receivers and the struggles and Patrick Mahomes. Here's another year.
Andy Reid is supposed to be an offensive genius. Why
is Patrick Mahomes struggling so much when you can't figure
out a way to get him off and to get

(01:31:38):
him to be not fifty touchdowns and throwing every ball
down field, but way better? Can you admit that Patrick
Mahomes hasn't been the same quarterback the last two years.
Andy Reid is supposed to be.

Speaker 2 (01:31:51):
That guy, and yet we haven't seen it. It's been
a nice run.

Speaker 15 (01:31:56):
The last two years have been disappointing regularly.

Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
That's buddy, when you come in on Monday, and I
can't even imagine how Kelvin Washington was feeling going over
the show notes. It's like, ah Man, Chiefs. What a
run for Patrick Malomes. You know, in the seven years
that he's been the starting quarterback, rob that the Chiefs
have ended every year in either the AFC Championship Game

(01:32:25):
or the Super Bowl. And in that span they won
what five I'm sorry, I'm giving him way too many.
They've won three Super Bowls already. I mean that's pretty incredible, right,
that is well done? If and then for Robbing Goes, yeah,
I think Andy Breech should be fired. It's just whoat

(01:32:47):
You got a dynastic situation potentially going in Kansas City
right now and in Patrick mahomes first seven sees. I
do not want to support the Chiefs are Patrick Mahomes here,
but I just you know, I let you know how
scorching hot this is.

Speaker 2 (01:33:03):
Patrick mahomes first year is the starting quarterback. What happened?

Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
They lost in the AFC Championship Game to the New
England Patriots. Win by the way, dummy d Ford jumped
off sides. If d Ford who, by the way, you
want to talk about somebody that just disappeared off the planet.
Remember he was one of the big free agent acquisitions,

(01:33:30):
and I don't it is even in the league anymore.
First year as a starting quarterback, AFC Championship loss to
the Patriots in overtime. Second year is a starting quarterback,
Super Bowl champion. Third year as a starting quarterback, Super
Bowl runner up in Tom Brady's final Super Bowl title.

Speaker 2 (01:33:52):
Fourth year is the starting quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:33:54):
Lost in the AFC Championship game in one of the
more head scratchings second half's you'll ever see in your
life to the Bengals. Fifth year won the Super Bowl.
Sixth year won the Super Bowl in his seventh year
as a starting quarterback. He went to the Super Bowl
and lost. And the first thing that you first thought is,

(01:34:19):
I think they should fire Andy Reid. It's just chef's kiss.
But then then on on I think it was Thursday
Rob went over the top grip and he outdid himself.

Speaker 15 (01:34:31):
There's one person, and one person only who has ruined
NBA All Star.

Speaker 2 (01:34:36):
Weekend, and that's Kaitlyn Clark. Kaitlynk By the way, I'm
not I'm just I'm in awe of this.

Speaker 3 (01:34:45):
Okay, I'm not dogg and Rob, I'm in awe of this,
Like how that mind works or it's like, yeah, stupid
Caitlyn Clark. How dare you if you could see Kelvin's
face when he says this, Have you watched this video?

Speaker 2 (01:34:55):
Bree? Have you watched on? Oh my gosh, it's one
of the all time Like what.

Speaker 15 (01:35:03):
Clark Gatelnk Clark has ruined NBA All Star weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:35:13):
They invited her to be involved in, you know, a
shooter shooting.

Speaker 15 (01:35:17):
Contest with Steph Right, and they were gonna make this
nice thing go and and give people something to watch.
She is television ratings goal right. Everything she's in, the
people are watching. That would have been the only reason
to watch any of the.

Speaker 2 (01:35:31):
Festivities this weekend.

Speaker 15 (01:35:33):
They got a no name slam dunk contests. They got
four All Star teams with people who aren't even all
stars playing the younger people, the people they picked up
off the street, the old veterans. It's like the international
like I don't even know, right, I.

Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
Just, first of all, I don't know that he's wrong
on that.

Speaker 3 (01:35:57):
I don't think it's kind of funny that your point
the thing, you're at the hottest commodity going in the NBA,
all right and maybe basketball right now, and go, how
dare you you ruined this weekend for me? But I
mean even even Steph Curry, like, I think we kind
of that was cool when they did it? Was was
that last year?

Speaker 2 (01:36:16):
Was that two years ago they did Sabrina?

Speaker 5 (01:36:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:36:20):
I just I mean, I I don't think it's going
to add for me personally too much. But do you
can you find anyone who had a better week than
Rob Parker? I mean, come on, those are breathe those
are electric hot takes.

Speaker 5 (01:36:39):
Right, legendary for the week after the Super Bowl, right,
just timing wise, I just I I it's.

Speaker 2 (01:36:49):
And Arnie's like this too.

Speaker 3 (01:36:50):
I think Arnie's very If Arnie's up on the East coach,
which which he might be already and he might be
making his Roman numeral rundown for Sunday night, Arnie's probably
so mad. He's like, oh, I wanted to have I
set Andy reach and have been fired. Have you seen
him in the regular season? Oh, you mean the regular
season where they essentially lost one game I just I

(01:37:11):
wish Rob was a general manager of the Chiefs. We

Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
No, I will say our conversation about NASCAR earlier, we.

Speaker 6 (01:38:08):
Should just redo that whole conversation on air.

Speaker 3 (01:38:11):
Oh my gosh, I was first, Is Jeff Gorn still racing?
And I think the second one was Tony Stewart still
out there? What about Dale Junior?

Speaker 16 (01:38:21):
So?

Speaker 6 (01:38:21):
And Tony Stewart still have his home depot car.

Speaker 2 (01:38:24):
That's right, that's right, which it's been a minute, been
a minute. Hey, don't forget.

Speaker 2 (01:38:47):
Are you ready for Breeze three? One, two?

Speaker 1 (01:38:52):
But fore it's entertainment, It's good Breeze three.

Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
I'm here for it. Bree I'm here for it.

Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
Uh, maybe lay out the rules of the segment so
everyone can be understanding of where we're going.

Speaker 6 (01:39:11):
Definitely.

Speaker 5 (01:39:11):
So at first I kind of it was kind of
like movie based, and then I felt like, you know,
we kind of could say the same movies over again
because there's just so many themes with all kinds of movies.
So I kind of I've kind of like mixed it
up a little bit. I'm kind of just making it
all pop culture, whether or not. I'm thinking of like, okay,
well three different actors can like, you know, have this

(01:39:32):
kind of like who would you imagine, you know, if
a situation, what actors would you choose different songs or
different theme songs? And TV shows likely we can even
throw that in. So I'm kind of just kind of
mixing it up. So anything that happened in the world
of sports, there's some kind of theme or some kind
of underlining like motive or some kind of event that happened,

(01:39:53):
I kind of try to see if there's three instances in.

Speaker 6 (01:39:56):
Pop culture, I can kind of match up with it
and make it.

Speaker 2 (01:39:59):
A line here for it.

Speaker 5 (01:40:01):
So obviously the Eagles parade was earlier this morning, and
so AJ Brown got on the mic and was like Adrian, which.

Speaker 6 (01:40:08):
Is like obviously like the Rocky like famous line.

Speaker 5 (01:40:11):
And so I just thought, like, what are like three
cities that you think of and then you could like
automatically pick like one or two movies that you automatically
think of.

Speaker 6 (01:40:21):
Oh my gosh, So it's fun, right, So the first
one in honor of.

Speaker 5 (01:40:26):
Like my dad, because my dad lives in Vegas. I
thought of Las Vegas and like Ocean's eleven. Obviously, like
I feel like if you think about like Vegas, I
automatically like if I'm in a casino, I'm like, oh,
George Clooney is like over there like brack Pick or
like you think, oh, there's like a heist that could
be happening.

Speaker 6 (01:40:42):
You just never know.

Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
So I just never know.

Speaker 6 (01:40:45):
Like you look at the especially, I look.

Speaker 5 (01:40:47):
At cameras now too, and I'm like, oh, cameras, and
they're like watching every move. They watch bartenders, they watch
the tables, they watch everything everything. So I always think
about that. So that's my first one, right, So my
second one, I thought of You've Got Mail, like taking
place in New York. I don't know if you're a
rom com guy, Chris, I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:41:08):
Have a choice. I have. I have two daughters, wife. Yeah,
so I'm pretty much stuck.

Speaker 6 (01:41:15):
Yeah, so You've Got Mail obviously have really famous movies in.

Speaker 5 (01:41:18):
The nineties took like a lot of it showed New
York going through all like the seasons. I always like
when I think of New York, I always kind of
think of You've Got Mail like it, and then and
then you could kind of think of a few other
movies with New York.

Speaker 6 (01:41:32):
And then I went with Speed and taking place in.

Speaker 5 (01:41:36):
La That's right, because like the freeways, right, and so
obviously like the one oh five wasn't finished yet. I
think when they were filming, yeah, part of it, the
part of it wasn't finished. And so that famous like
bus scene that like went like like went over, you know,
onto the other side, there was like this little space

(01:41:58):
between because it hadn't been finished yet, right, And so
also and then another part, and we were talking about
travel earlier, part of the movie was filmed on the
runways at lax also, so very like you know, a
very la kind of thing, la I, very well known airport.

Speaker 6 (01:42:17):
So those were my three.

Speaker 5 (01:42:18):
I did a little LA, a little New York and
a little Vegas, and those are my three.

Speaker 2 (01:42:22):
I love it, Mark, you got anything that jumps out
in your mind.

Speaker 9 (01:42:26):
So when I started movies and places or you know,
with our topic, I thought of Chicago first, and so
I thought of Midnight Run with Nairo Charles Groden, Dennis Farina, Yafikoto.
It just the same movie, just the you know, when
they when they stopped there and the whole things they
go on with that. So the Chicago, and then I

(01:42:48):
thought about with Philadelphia, I thought about American Gangster Denzel Washington,
great movie. I didn't know that much about that gangster
from Hiadelphia. That was a great view of a part
of his life. And then the next one I thought of,
so Los Angeles. I thought of Clint Eastwood, Renee Russo,

(01:43:11):
John Malkovich in the Line of Fire. So those are
my three. I just like that movie just it could.
There's a particular part that ends up in Los Angeles
in one of the buildings downtown.

Speaker 2 (01:43:22):
It's a famous scene.

Speaker 9 (01:43:24):
And just so as our topic, that's one of a
city with a movie that's connected to it that I
thought about, So Midnight Run American Gangster, and then Los
Angeles in the Line of Fire.

Speaker 3 (01:43:37):
Well, these are all great submissions, but you've missed the
greatest song that makes you think of a city and
our state. And it kind of hurts a little bit
that it wasn't included in our conversation.

Speaker 1 (01:43:53):
Sit alone and talk and watch.

Speaker 2 (01:43:56):
Hop waiting lazy circles in the sky.

Speaker 3 (01:44:01):
We know we belonged to the lamb, and the let
we belonged to is crawn. So you got to think
of Oklahoma, right, I mean I should have known. So
whenever you think of a stay, you think of Oklahoma.
That's not the loudest version of it. I think I
was actually louder than everyone else. Gunny gets it, You

(01:44:22):
get it, Gunny. I also added, because you know, I
had several here, because you mentioned Las Vegas, so it
made me think of Vegas vacation. You mentioned New York,
and you know, New Jersey got me thinking of Beer
League with Artie Lang, my personal favorite movie of all time.

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
But you brought up Chicago and what Midnight Run in Chicago? Yes,
Farris Bueler's Day Off? Okay, all right, right right, Faris
is the biggest fan.

Speaker 9 (01:44:52):
I mean, I knew about it, but it's like, hey,
here's a guy taking off from school.

Speaker 2 (01:44:56):
What play? You're skipping school and you're getting away with it,
just away with it.

Speaker 3 (01:45:00):
Yet, just because you know about computers doesn't mean that
you can continue to get away with this, right right.
I think I gave more than three there, But that's
just I watch a lot of movies now, so well.

Speaker 2 (01:45:10):
Dons have movies.

Speaker 9 (01:45:12):
The most of the movies that I bring up, I
consider whether Brianna has seen it.

Speaker 10 (01:45:17):
Nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:45:18):
Yeah, that's kind of how I okay.

Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
Smart, smart, smart. I don't think any of you guys
have probably seen Oklahoma. I don't even know if I've
seen it all the way through.

Speaker 6 (01:45:24):
To be honest with you, I saw it in middle
school in a long time, very very long time.

Speaker 3 (01:45:30):
Dustfel, Yes, dustful era. I got three kind of sports
stories to add to Breeze three. I'm going to go
for the field goal here.

Speaker 2 (01:45:40):
All right? You ready? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:45:43):
Well, dateline this is off the heels of what Steve
and Kansas City talked about. Dateline March fourteenth, That is
when Travis Kelcey has to have his decision made as

(01:46:04):
to whether or not he is retiring or he's gonna
stick around and play another year.

Speaker 9 (01:46:11):
Interesting, and I forgot about there's a date that people
have a date that.

Speaker 2 (01:46:15):
They need to know body.

Speaker 3 (01:46:17):
Now, Brianna, you're familiar with dates, because I think that's
similar to the same date whenever the Saints got to
cut their car by and the Chats have to cut
Aaron Rodgers by.

Speaker 2 (01:46:27):
Because it's March.

Speaker 3 (01:46:29):
It's the first day of the league year, right, so
the Chiefs are like, listen, just let us know, right.
And it was interesting because I was watching I think
it was the NFL Network, and Ian Rappaport made it
sound like he was retiring and he was done, and

(01:46:50):
then you have a lot of oh, he wants to
do it one more year. Chase Daniel was on, I
don't know what the show is called. There's just a
lot of people sitting at the table that yell at
each other, and he Chase Daniel said that he was
the guy that sounds like he wants to retire. So
March fourteenth is the deadline to decide whether or not

(01:47:12):
we are going to see Travis Kelcey back number two,
number two from this week.

Speaker 2 (01:47:18):
Are you familiar with the eighty two and eighty two
issues in the SEC?

Speaker 4 (01:47:26):
Now?

Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
Okay, as you know, all conferences play each other in
a conference, you play all the teams essentially in your conference.
Or are you you know one team's gonna win, one
team's gonna lose. So somehow, about two weeks ago, some
smart elec on Twitter laid out how he is disappointed

(01:47:52):
in the SEC because they're in league record is only
five hundred. How could there which basically every team's in
league record is five every school every conference is in
league record is five hundred. Right, if you have sixteen
teams that weekend, it's gonna be sixteen and sixteen.

Speaker 2 (01:48:15):
No one's gonna get a magical.

Speaker 3 (01:48:16):
Extra win over someone and so some smart Alex said,
oh gosh, the SEC, they're really not that good. They're
only five hundred in conference play. You had Archie Miller,
who was the head coach at Rhode Island, talked about
how the big bat SEC is.

Speaker 2 (01:48:33):
Only fifty four and fifty four in conference games.

Speaker 3 (01:48:36):
And then you had this during a game on national
TV from Carl Ravich, which again, you're gonna have a
five hundred record in conference regardless, one team's gonna win,
one team's gonna lose. Carl figured out sounded like this
on This was the Texas Alabama game for the other night. Texas,

(01:49:01):
by the way, got smoked in this game. But Carl
Ravitsch decided that this was going to be the moment
where he chastised the SEC for its five hundred record. Anyway,
in the audio sucks right now, it's not playing, but
everyone's falling for it. Mark Pope was asked about it
during his press conference and he looked and thought about
it for a moment and he said, yeah, I guess

(01:49:22):
we've got to be better. You know, you can tell
he got it. He he understood the sarcasm of it.
But you know what, I'm not gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
Lie to you.

Speaker 3 (01:49:32):
I think if I saw that and immediately everyone was
tweeting about it, I think I would be the dummy
that's like, yeah, that's not very good. They're only they're
only five hundred right now, Like, how good can that
possibly be? They're only five hundred in conference? Whenever, in
the end, everyone's five hundred in conference, Dolman.

Speaker 16 (01:49:51):
If they were in a non conference season the SEC,
they were one hundred and eighty five and twenty three.
Since January fourth into Tuesday, the SEC teams are eighty
two and eighty two.

Speaker 3 (01:50:07):
They're playing all the games against each other. One team's
gonna win, one team's gonna lose. Dummy, But like I said,
I would be the first one that it might take
me a moment to figure that one out. So that's
number two. I guess in my stories that I have
for you, And then you know number three. I feel

(01:50:27):
like that it is important every now and then to
remember that when you gotta go, you gotta go, and
there is nothing that can stop you. Have you guys
become familiar with Poopgate involving one Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 5 (01:50:44):
I saw the pants and I was like, oh, I
was like, what do what do you guys call them
skid marks?

Speaker 2 (01:50:52):
Yeah? Is that the guy term? I think that's very good.
That's very good.

Speaker 6 (01:50:56):
Yeah, that's okay great.

Speaker 2 (01:50:57):
Have you seen the picture? Mark? I have not seen. Okay,
during the break breathe, we can pull it up.

Speaker 12 (01:51:03):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:51:03):
What am I talking about is dial up to the
internet and then when you get logged in, you use
my AOL account and then let Mark see it.

Speaker 2 (01:51:10):
No, pull it up for leton see. I will defend
Jimmy Butler. I saw heard that laugh.

Speaker 3 (01:51:16):
I don't think I'm gonna defend Jimmy Butler, right, I
think he's I think he sat in something because it
goes up the back. Now, I don't need to go
in depth on a conversation about do here on the show,
but I just I'm going to defend Jimmy Butler here.

Speaker 5 (01:51:31):
But that would be more kind of spread out on
the sides if you sat on something, because where do
you sit, you know, like where you know you let
your cocksix. It's kind of there's two sides of it,
your buttocks, So there's two sides.

Speaker 6 (01:51:45):
I just think that's a.

Speaker 5 (01:51:46):
Very specific area where there are things that come out,
and so I wouldn't really be surprised if you know,
we got.

Speaker 6 (01:51:55):
A little leakage. Okay, little gashtro leakage.

Speaker 3 (01:51:59):
Well, this is not a really great radio bit, just
to be honest with you, because you need to see
the picture. And until Fox Sports Radio adds that video
button to your radio, it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 2 (01:52:12):
But it's it's up there with the Paul Pierce.

Speaker 10 (01:52:16):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:52:17):
We learn much later after Paul Pierce had the wheelchair
brought out for him, right, that it was actually an accident,
not an injury.

Speaker 9 (01:52:27):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:52:28):
So Jimmy Butler, I I got your back, buddy. That
looks like yellow gatorade to me. Don't listen to the haters.
Oh wow, it looks it looks like.

Speaker 6 (01:52:40):
He's got people on his side.

Speaker 3 (01:52:46):
We're the only people, Mark all right, your tweets are
gonna take us home next right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
Hey, don't forget.

(01:54:10):
miss Fox Sports Radio twenty four to seven, three sixty five.
All right, your texts are going to take us home
tonight at Plank show at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:54:18):
Go through so the best here. Let's start with og Art.

Speaker 3 (01:54:23):
Puffin, don't bury the live read plank Am I the
only college basketball college football fan that's still wondering how
the SEC has taken over two of the big four
sports all of a sudden. He also adds the question mark,
it's simple, they've got the most money. They got the

(01:54:44):
most money.

Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
SEC schools will always.

Speaker 3 (01:54:49):
Spend to get the best players, and when there is
the cap that's coming, they're going to spin above and
beyond to get the players. Now something like to try
to spell the downfall of the SEC, because the Big
Tens won the last two national championships. And that's fine,
but it's a more competitive league now. I mean there's

(01:55:12):
not even Vanderbilt is good. I mean Oklahoma in its
first year in the SEC, with a terrible quarterback situation
and absolutely devoid of any receiver with experience, beat Alabama handily.
That that's not gonna happen at Alabama years past. So
such a tougher league, and I'll tell you what, it's

(01:55:33):
gonna be fun to watch, and they're starting to spend
in basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:55:36):
It's a problem for everyone else. Jason B.

Speaker 3 (01:55:39):
Diamond I have loved the Four Nations NHL Tournament replacing
the All Star Game for the next week. I mean Finland,
United States brawling last night.

Speaker 2 (01:55:47):
It was awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:55:49):
It was really good. Kudos to the NHL. Kudos to
the NHL. It's really good and it's really well done.
Now I say kudos to the NHL. I'm giving the credit.
I'm pretty sure they're responsible, pretty sure, but it is.
It's really fun if you're a hockey fan and like

(01:56:09):
the NHL is just too much because it's constant and everywhere,
and then you're confused by is it on TNT tonight, No,
it's TBS. Oh is it on ESPN or whatever? I whatever,
This is worth your time. It's really good, Truck or Joe.
How long after Travis Kelcey retires will the report come
out and say Taylor Swift and him broke up and

(01:56:32):
now she's making a song about it.

Speaker 2 (01:56:35):
Buddy, listen, you have to.

Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
Understand this show is going to be on during some
lean times for sports content. Okay, don't be ruining our summer.
What is the Taylor Swift breakup song going to be called?
When she dumps Travis Kelcey. Don't be ruining that segment
on this is it still February? On this February night,

(01:56:59):
we got a long way to go Abigail. NBA fans
are loyal. With that being said, the majority of general
sports fans no longer enjoy the NBA and don't tune
in anymore. Look at the ratings the last few years.
All Star weekend has become a joke. Also, very few

(01:57:19):
stars participate like they used to on Saturday. When I
was a kid, I love the All Star games.

Speaker 2 (01:57:28):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:57:28):
The All Star Baseball Game was great, and part of
the reason why is because you never saw these guys.
The All Star Game was the first time I'd have
a chance to see a lot of the dudes in
the American League because there might be a Game of
the week. But I lived in the Saint Louis and
we'd always get the Cardinals or the Cubs NBA All
Star Game. We didn't get a lot of NBA. Now

(01:57:49):
it's everywhere, so it's not special. It's not a big
event anymore. The best All Star Game was when they
did the Ler scoring system after Kobe passed.

Speaker 2 (01:57:57):
That was a ballgame that was great. Play. Their asses
off doesn't happen anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:58:02):
One more from Rockabilly Rebel, who writes, I want to
hear a diehard Sooner fan talk about Texas's combined invites
fourteen fourteen of Texas's finance went to the draft. What's
left in the cupboard for Manny? A lot of good
recruiting classes. They spent well in the portal. I'm not

(01:58:24):
too concerned about them long term. I think they're gonna
be Okay. I'm not the biggest believer in Arch, and
I know that's I mean, that's blasphemy right now. And
part of the reason why I'm not that big on
Arch is because we haven't seen it. You saw it
against Louisiana Monroe when he came in the game against Georgia,

(01:58:47):
he kicked the ball around. Man, So we'll see. But
Texa's gonna be good. Sarks is stud So yeah, they
got a lot of really good players, and they went
like a decade without having a player taken in the
first round. So now you see what happens when you
get a smart recruiter in there and you get a
guy that knows what he's doing. Texas is a problem
and it pains me. Pains me to see Sark doing

(01:59:10):
what he's doing right now.

Speaker 2 (01:59:11):
He's really good. All right, It's been fun, Brie. What
do you say we do it? Again.

Speaker 3 (01:59:14):
Next Friday Night, Mark again. Let's do it again next
Friday Night. Bernie's back on Saturday Night. Okay, we're gonna
split up the weekend and make it easier. The Fellas,
Anthony Gargano, Raider, Diehard, Jason Fits next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:59:28):
Have a great Saturday,
