How's your weekend without football being sneaking genius?

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Well, that was a little bored out there, but I
want to congratulate you because you had a pretty busy weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
You started a new show. Congratulations, that's right, that's right, Thanks,
amazing Friday Nights. Well, it's weird to say Friday nights
because it's only Friday night on the West Coast. But
then again, it's I don't know about you, and I
don't know how Mary and Up producer ian Ian Roddy
is in. Now. Patrick has moved on to alleged greener pasture.

(00:54):
We'll bring that up later on why we had to
let him go, But that's beside the point. Okay, let's
just real quick. We didn't have to let him go. Well,
he's working a different shit of the Lakers, and we
don't employ losers on our show. But go ahead, listen,
you're an Arizona fan. You want to talk about two games,
you want to talk about what's happened the last two games.
We can start there. Going to congratulate you here, Well,

(01:15):
you're trying to congratulate me by talking about how you
fired Patrick, who wasn't fired and it was on another show,
but maybe maybe Ian and Mary or even you Arenie.
I look at one AM as not morning, but it's night,
yeah too, And a lot of people are, oh, no,
that's the next morning. No, it's not, that's night. So
when I say Friday night, there's usually the yeah butt guy.

(01:36):
And now I don't know if Bernie talked about it
on his Saturday show or not, but he's wanting to
cut back to one night. And when that opportunity popped up,
I said, let's go. I still haven't told anyone. No
one knows. I didn't tell my wife.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
You want the.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Whole damnation right now.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Dude, I did what you just told the whole damnation. Well,
I did the show on Friday, and we talked about
it Friday night, so.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, yeah, Well, congratulations a lot of people undering, can
Chris Plank do a show without Arnie?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
So I was, I don't know how I've done it.
I don't know how I've done it. I mean, I've
done a local show for thirty years now. I don't
know how I've ever done radio without Arnie Spanier. To
be honest with you, whow trying to compliment you again?
You're not trying to compliment me. Hey. The funny thing
about it is because you refuse to work those hours,

(02:24):
it's opened up opportunities for me. So thank you, stinking genius.
But yeah, I'll have the Steve Perry All the Solo
show every Friday night from one to four am in
God's time zone, the Central time Zone. That is a
much nicer time zone I would imagine though time slot
on the West Coast eleven p to three A not
too shabby, not too shabby in the Eastern time zone

(02:47):
two to five. Are you ever up? Are you ever
up that early? Now?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
I will be just to listen to you, that's for sure. Raw, Yeah, exactly,
I am lying.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
But no, thank you. I'm really really excited about it.
I don't know how I'm gonna handle it when my
family finds out that I'm doing it. You know, we'll see,
but it's gonna be It's gonna be a fun trip.
So what filled devoid for you? I noticed you were
tweeting about hockey. I noticed that you've been hating on
the NBA. Yeah, I noticed that you sent me are
you ready to do this text forty minutes before the show,

(03:19):
which signed You're all fired up? You didn't talk to
me all day today. I was driving. I was driving.
I was trying to get to studio. I got got
to get here super early after being late last week.
I gotta be on time. I was ready to row.
I was excited.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
I figured, finally the first show without football. So there
was finally the first show without football.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Boy, you and I are looking at this show completely
different here tonight. I am petrified to try to talk
about anything other than football right now because of how
Atrocia's most things in the sports world are right now. Well,
look those some good stuff. I mean, I was ball
into the hockey. I'm thinking about going to the game.
There's a game tomorrow and then there's a game on Thursday,

(04:02):
and they're both in Boston, so I'm thinking about going
down there. Man, I really got into it. You know
you by way Ian, welcome to the show. This happens
every time there's a big event within one hundred miles
from Arnie. Oh okay, he says, yeah, yeah, he says
he's gonna go there, but he's never gonna leave his house.
I looked up tickets.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Tickets were like six seven hundred dollars a piece, So
that's a little price. What.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yeah, there are a lot of money, that's for sure.
Are we gonna boo oh Canada or what? What's the plan?

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Well, I want to know what they're gonna do. I'm
very curious about that. Just for that reason alone, I
was thinking about going down there. I really was wanted
to go down. If I wasn't so busy, I would
go down for sure.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
You know, we were on the air right afterwards on
Friday night, so I didn't really are what am I saying.
We were on the air Friday night, so we didn't
get really a chance to preview it too much. Because,
to be honest with you, Arnie, not a lot of
people were talking about that tournament until last night whenever
US played CA. And honestly, I think I think the

(05:03):
social media buzz of Wow, they're booing the national anthem
and they just booed Michelle Kwan and just all these
things like WHOA, what's going on here? I got to
check this out. And in fairness, there really wasn't a
ton going on in the sports world last night, and
I think it was a mixture of good and because
nobody cares about the dunk competition anymore, so I think
it was it was a except for Mac McClung and

(05:24):
the NBA is still trying to make him a thing.
But it's like a cross section of maybe fortunate timing right,
and then just went ended up being a good game.
So if there is a simple answer to this question,
then let me know. But what did lead to all
that hostility that just set that thing on fire? To
kick it off last night?

Speaker 3 (05:44):
It was it was the first time where they bowed
the national anthem, and I think, uh it was ka
chuk y oh, yes, it was really really upset.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Then you saw what happened in games okay about yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Hey, I happened to watch the game, Chris, and I
said that with my wife. We were like eight o'clock,
let's get the game on. Went downstairs, we were all
set in our chairs and we were sitting and we're like, Wow,
this is awesome. They were they were just going at it.
So it was, uh, it was a lot of fun.
I mean, it was great, It was exciting, and it

(06:23):
was intense. I love that we stayed up all night
watching the game.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Has it stolen the thunder for you from the All
Star Game? Or had the new format kind of stolen
the thunder from the All Star Game? For you to
begin with? What the way they do it in the NHL?
Okay and three two one? Has it kind of stolen
the thunder from the NBA All Star Game from what

(06:47):
you've been watching in hockey format in the NA All
Star Games? Stolen the thunder? No, the new format in
the NBA doesn't even come close. It's all in HL.
I mean for you personally, I know it doesn't come close,
but I'm for you personally. Any excitement you had towards
wanting to see the AM I not making sense here.
Any excitement that you had for wanting to watch the

(07:07):
NBA All Star Game? Did the hockey take that joy
away from you? Because it's so it's been so much
more entertaining, so much more infinitely enjoyable. Well, I don't
know if it took them a joy away, but yes,
the NHL has been much more entertaining, much more enjoy
Have you enjoyed the NBA? Not really? So it was

(07:28):
it was okay. I mean, why do I even do
this show? I raced up a highway making three hours
time driving from Waco, Oh three hours. It took in
three hours. I did a four hour drive. Wow, my gosh, man,
I was okay, I did.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
It was better than it used to be. But and
they're trying a little bit better. But the the forty points,
I didn't get into it so much and there was.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Still chucking up from deep three point range. O can
just say the NBA All Star format sucked? They blew it.
It was terrible and it wasn't entertaining yet it was Wait,
it was a little bit better than the way they
used to do it. I'll give you. It went from
a zero to a one, but it wasn't much better
from to a one.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, that's all it really did. It was only a
little bit better. It wasn't even close to what I
loved about the NHL. So no, what zero to one?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
That was it? I didn't I didn't really get into
it at all. I think the funniest thing about you
have something that has success like that one night for
at least Americans. For hockey fans, it seems like all
the tournament so far has really been engaging and maybe
for a handful of casuals. But I think my favorite

(08:38):
part of anything like this that has success, Arnie is
immediately everyone's like, well, they should do that in baseball,
and they should do that, and this is how the
All Star Game should be in the NBA. Well, we
do have something like this in baseball because you have
the World Baseball Classic, right, So you don't really have
to emulate this in baseball unless you want to do
it every year, and then I don't know if it'll
have the same effectiveness and kind of have it in

(09:00):
the NBA with the Olympics every four years, and I
guess technically you have that with hockey too, but I
don't know if there is I heard Ephraim and Willard
talking about this. I mean, we're a very multi nationality league,
but I don't know if the depth of talent is
enough to where you could have a team as competitive

(09:21):
out of Serbia or Canada or whomever to compete with
the Americans in the in the NBA version of this.
So to me, I think it's just the perfect storm
for the NHL doing something different and it helps whenever
you have the Kchuck brothers throwing hands with every single
member of the Canadian national team are the Canadian representative
team as soon as they dropped the park, it is no.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
I mean, you're you're one hundred percent right about that,
and they take it more seriously. I don't want to
say that NHL NHL players are more patriotic, but it
does feel that way, does it.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
I don't know why.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
It feels like NBA players want to pull out of
the Olympics and don't want to play.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
NHL players are all into it, even if it means
missing part of the season. They want to play for
their home countries.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
So I don't know if that has anything to do
with it, but it was like the perfect storm and
they were taking it seriously and.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
You see them throwing blows.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
They would never play that hard in the NBA All
Star Game. Would wouldn't even be close to being that
type of you know, a type of player, that type
of physicality.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
And I know I'm guilty of this. So I'll just
I'll pose this to you. Can something be good for
a sport and then it's not feel like everyone else
has to do it? In other words, can this be
really good for the NHL in this time, in this
place and maybe give the league a little bit of momentum,
because I would be willing to say there's not a
lot of interest world bordered border in hockey. If you're

(10:46):
in a hockey town, then you're yelling at me. But
a majority the ratings aren't where they need to be, right,
They're not crushing it as far as gear or merchandising
or anything like that. So something like this could be
good spread the word. But is it okay if it's
like good for hockey and we don't have to make
this something that the NBA should do or that baseball.

(11:06):
I mean, can we just make this really cool for
this weekend for hockey or now? No, no, you got to
make it also for the NBA too. No, you can't.
The NBA thing is failing also.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
So and by the way, the ratings for this NHL
model that they have going on five times or six
times the ratings of a regular NHL games. So imagine
that maybe even higher than that. It's just dwarfing a
regular NHL game, which is incredible.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
But again, are you comparing it to games that are
on say TBS on a Wednesday night, whenever it's on
primetime on a Saturday night only.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
I'm just gonna be an average of a million, to
be honest with you, that's and that's probably a lot
more than it really has. There's probably a lot of
games less. This game had over five million. It was
absolutely incredible. They were really into it.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Can I tell you one thing that's driving me crazy
tonight from what I've watched at the NBA Star coverage,
Kevin Hart doesn't have to be on everything. When did
he become so unfunny? I don't know. Whenever we got
overexposed to him. I worry about that. For Shane Gillis,
it's like, okay, listen, they're funny. We don't need to
see them all the time. But it was I don't

(12:16):
know what, dudude, it was. It was really awful to
watch him.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
It was Rob's not a good friend for him. I'm
telling you that he weren't funnier than they are. Sure
they're good when they're in a movie and you got
Dwayne the Rock Johnson next year, and they got their
lines all written out and you got it memorized. Then
you're damn funny. But don't try to improvise, man, You're
not good at it. Can you imagine Kevin Hart doing
a three hour show every night, five days a week

(12:42):
without having like all his friends, his guests and stuff
like that as a podcast or something.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
It'd be terrible, it'd be awful. It'd be what I
watched him try to do on the floor exactly exactly
what I will say. I do think the NBA got
hosed tonight by some of its stars, and maybe they
don't like the format. I don't know, but Lebron tapping
out and Anthony Edwards tapping out. If I'm missing anyone,

(13:08):
I apologize. That's I'm a big Lebron supporter. I know
he takes a lot of grief and maybe he doesn't deserve,
but it takes a roster spot from another NBA All Star.
And if you just decided you weren't gonna play and
you weren't going to be a part of this, then
what were you doing?

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Well, he's gonna say, he's gonna say, well, everything was fine.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
I was I was mending fine. I woke up one
morning this morning and it was a little sore. I
wanted to see how I was gonna go with the
rest of the day. And I said, you know what,
I better let him know right away that I'm not
I'm not gonna go in chance, and he'll say something
like that to that effect. Gotcha, he's catching a lot
of grief and I and rightfully so he should have
said something earlier. He probably did know, but there's no

(13:49):
way we could prove it. Chris, and he did take
a roster spot from somebody. It's hey, look at me,
look at me. I don't worry about me.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
I'm I'm here too, So it's it's so bad he
did something like that, but you know, there's.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
No way where we could prove it. So people are
going to attack him, but he'll say he wanted to
give it to a couple of hours as he forgot
any better. I'll tell you this much, as a Lakers fan,
I'm fine with it. Exid don't you don't need to
be going out there in the stupid All Star Game
and getting yourself right right right. But as somebody who
loves the League and wants to get the Association and

(14:23):
wants to see it continue to grow. You need Lebron
out there because you're not gonna get many more opportunities
to see him on the stage. And I would have
loved to have seen how I don't know he embraced this.
This is different, and I'm not a fan of it.
I'd rather I'd rather just not have an All Star Game,
I guess, but I like watching the Association on a

(14:43):
Tuesday night. I know some of you don't, but I
would have loved to have seen him party. How many
more All Star games is Lebron gonna play in, right, right?

Speaker 3 (14:52):
But maybe the NBA and the NFL, uh and and
and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
The All Star Game has gone by the wayside, you know.
I saw something just today where the Sizzler had set
over seven hundred steak places. Now they have seventy.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Maybe it's gone the way of the Sizzler and Blockbuster
and all those other places that used to be big
time stores. Now they're just not around anymore.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Now.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
We just we couldn't sustain it for whatever reason. Maybe
the same things for the NFL All Star Game and
the NBA All Star Game and just time to move
on from it.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
That's right. You know it's funny. I love the sizzler.
I love the sizzle sizzlers, good steaks, Oh good with chicken, man,
I feel good, so good, damn. Whenever I first started
in radio, you know what the hottest genre in radio
is right now? Outside of sports talk radio, it's country music, right,
and it has been for oh my gosh, what like

(15:48):
fifteen years now. It's the hot If I would be
willing to bet that, if you were to pull the
iHeart Radio numbers behind the Arny and Plank show, there's
probably a country music show that's one of the highest
rated shows, right, and people love country music, probably William
Frank or something right, something like that. But I went
to the radio people loved used to love to have

(16:12):
like these think groups, so they would bring people together
from all different markets and they would sit around and talk.
And you know what, the very first one ever I
went to talked about Arnie. It was how do you
save country music? How do you save country because country
radio was dying on the vine, and then all of
a sudden you get this new age of bro country.
And I'm not trying to give you music history I'm
just saying it can go the other way, right, you

(16:34):
can get something that spurns it. And maybe it was
American Idol for country music. I don't know, but whatever
it is, maybe the NHL got that this weekend, and
maybe the NBA is still continuing to look for it.
I don't know. I mean, I did you weren't kidding
about the numbers man, they'd be cute to the roof
through the roote.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
It's like, I don't know for the nh uh oh,
don't to go see a game or maybe uh huh Austin.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
I'm like, maybe I will drive three hours. It's only
a three hour drive. That's nothing.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Everybody, could you do that standing on your head? You
just did that right now and go to the game.
But the tickets are so expensive it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
I don't know how any of you people can afford
to be sports fans. I'm not even kidding. Man. If
I if I didn't get a press pass or if
I didn't have gifted tickets, at times, I couldn't be
able to afford to go to it, especially when you're
I could not even justify asking how much.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Did you say lower ball for tomorrow, which is a
meaning us Finland, right, is like in the four or
five hundred dollars range for the game on Thursday was
you know, seven eight hundred, nine hundred. My brother in
law has tickets for that game, but if he doesn't
want to go, I could take them from him.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Well, I ask him, I'm sure you can. All Right,
we got to grab our first time out. We're slated
here from Todd Furman tonight. We'll get his take. Todd's
a big hockey guy like he watches and yeah, wagers
on it. He's got a good it. We'll get his
take on what the four nation face off has meant
to him. Colin is already in with the tweet of
the night. He hits us up, which is the best
way to get in touch with the program at Stinkingenius one.

(18:10):
That's on he I'm at playing show. Everyone go follow
us at Fox Sports Radio. Colin Wrights load management at
the All Star Game is the most NBA thing ever. Yeah,
well done, well done. I mean Lebron and Anthony Edwards
showing up. Be like, God, guys, I think we're out.
We're good. We're not gonna play.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
We didn't even we didn't even attack one Bayamo and
CP three.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Right, let's get to that next. Well, I figured you
would love that. I figured you would love that. No,
that irritates the crap out of me. Hey, hey, win
at any cost? Right? No, No, that's boloney, that's bolone.
Well can you just pull back and pull your fake
outrage back and just accept how bonds the whole thing,

(18:54):
how bolowney the whole stupid competition is. Anyway, can we
just do a three point competition and a dunk competition?
Get me back to the good old days? Oh my gosh,
just painful. All right, we'll get our first time out
when we come back. We'll dive into more from Saturday
night at the NBA All Star Game, and oh yeah,
we got a lot of NFL to talk about. Football

(19:16):
season might be over, but we got tons to get to.
Darnie and Plank right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Mat It's Arnian Plank coming to your live from the
tyrack dot com studios. Bad news, Arnie, you can't pose
any wild I don't know, trifectas, parlays whatever. With Todd
Furman tonight, he's he's road tripping. Oh geez, he's not
having the same success getting home as I did today.

(19:57):
I still got my ten thousand dollars parlay going. I
don't know. Did you watch the Arizona State Kansas game?
Kansas State? That is Arizona Arizona. Oh, I'm sorry, you
know what Arizona Kansas State game?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Yeah, we lost that one. I knew that was gonna happen.
Then we had a tough loss against Houston. We should
have beat the crap out of them.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
You should have beat the crap out of Houston. Huh. Yeah,
you should not have lost that game. What's the I
don't know evidence you have behind that outside. Houston's a
great basketball team. We were dusting them in the first half,
and then we got a little sloppy, turned the ball
all over. We're a better team than they are. Well,
you had a nice round in the Big twelve, But

(20:38):
I think it's coming to an end here. What's out?
What's up with your beef? Here? I noticed whenever I
was looking at the roman numeral rundown. Yeah, even before
we got to Roman numeral four, which is kind of
where I wanted to start tonight, final thoughts in the
super Bowl, and of course Roman numeral five, all these
NFL rumors. You have a Roman numeral two, your frustration

(20:59):
with Victor women Yama, and I got four frustrations. Okay,
I don't know who hold up? Start over? Start over?
You got you got knocked off by your equipment and
when it hiccups, you hear you for two seconds and
then it hiccups again. I don't We got to reset
our minds.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
I don't know who I'm more upset with. Okay, Wemba
Yama and CP three right or Dalton connected Mark Williams.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Why is that?

Speaker 3 (21:31):
Well, those guys are being soft Connecting Williams are being soft.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Show your work.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Oh, we'll start with that and then connect. Didn't want
to go back to the Lakers right away. After the
trade got rescinded. Mark Williams still hasn't gone back. I
don't know if he's heard or what the situation is there. Oh,
did we hurt your feelings by trading you?

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Well?

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Oh yeah, are you good? I'm so crushed. I'm so crushed.
I'm so upset about this. Like they're the first guys
ever to be traded and get rescinded. Not only that,
how many guys get traded and the new team goes, well,
we're just gonna cutch anyway, so you can become a
free agent and go wherever you want. And they end
up going back to the same team that traded them
to begin with.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Well, I mean, how embarrassing. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
I can't I get my mind, my psyche. I'm so distraught.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
I don't know if all this money I'm making can
overcome all this emotion I'm feeling right now. I mean,
really that is that we know people in the industry
and radio that get fired and get rehired by the
same company and they don't come back. I don't know
if I want to come back and fired me that
that is just so soft. You know what, maybe you
should have been a CPA or something. Shouldn't have been

(22:43):
an athlete if you if you can't handle that, Yeah,
I mean it's it's soft. But I mean, is it
softer that we don't get the Dalton connect versus Lebron
James because Lebron pulled out tonight. They were gonna play
each other, right, well, yeah, yeah, but that would I
wasn't worried about that one. Oh, I just mean from

(23:04):
the fun of it, I know what you're saying. I
just yeah, it frustrates me more that we didn't get
to see that. I guess I understand being mad for
like five seconds exactly trading me. It's like, yeah, damn,
that sucks. Where am I going, Charlotte, Charlotte, I think
you'd be pretty excited that you're actually going back to
Los Angeles. I mean the Lakers. I mean they're not

(23:25):
battling for the playing right now, and that's where they've
been in the regular season at the All Star break
for like the last five years. I'm getting real carried
away here, like the last four years. Right. He is
happy he's going back to the Lakers. I think he
was upset that he got traded to begin with. I know,
but just the whole pouting about it, It's like, why
make that public? You know, maybe that's something whenever we

(23:47):
do the PostScript on your career, it's like, man, it
was really twenty years from now when ninety year old
Arnie Spanier and eighty eight year old Chris Plank are
sitting here yelling about the NBA All Stars new format.
We could see the PostScript on Dalton Connect's career. It's like,
I was really hurt whenever the Lakers traded me. You're like,
why are you being so soft back then? I don't

(24:09):
understand the need to show that kind of frustration in
emotion now and I would lie to you. I don't
know what's going on with Mark Williams. I mean, I
have no clue whatsoever what's happening.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
He could be heard, so I'm not going to say
it's strictly based on that trade getting rescinded.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
But I got more of a feeling that's the reason
why he hasn't gone back to play, and he's trying
to wrap his mind around, you know, how he feels
or something.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
You know, it's all about my feelings, my feelings. I
can't can't, I can't go back on the court. And thought,
you know, maybe you shouldn't get paid until you get
your feelings under control.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
How about that? Well, when we come back to the
Tirack dot Com studios, now that you've put poor Dalton
Connect on blast, Yeah, and I guess Mark Williams too.
Let's get your take on exactly what's going on right
now with your frustration towards Victor wimbin Yama and Chris
Paul who simply found a loophole. Arnie, they found a loophole.
But first, Steve de Seger is in here to get

(24:59):
his caught up on everything going on in the world
of sports. What's up, Steve?

Speaker 6 (25:03):
Hello, gentlemen.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
We had the NBA All Star Games such as it
was in San Francisco tonight. In the MVP Steph Curry,
he got twelve of the fourteen votes. Now in the
finale he had twelve points in eleven minutes of work,
but Jason Tatum had fifteen points, six of seven shooting.
Curry in the semi tonight eight points and was two
of eight from three point range. But there's your All

(25:24):
Star Game MVP in the Bay Area. It was a
fourteen mini tournament tonight.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Oh how great Team.

Speaker 7 (25:29):
Shack won the final forty one twenty five for each
game this evening. The winner was the first team to
forty points. Each club had eight players, well seven for
one of them. Because Lebron James was out with a
sore foot and ankle named a starter for a RECPF,
they would have.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
Let somebody from the from the audience from the arena,
cume play.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Then it would have been a better like the give
you with the three pointer and the Mister Beast contest
Let him play?

Speaker 5 (25:53):
Then?

Speaker 2 (25:53):
How about that?

Speaker 7 (25:54):
That would have only worked if, just like in the contest,
one basket of his was equal to three baskets of
the the.

Speaker 6 (26:00):
NBA star exactly the only way he was Ay Lillard
in that Let's do it, Let's do it.

Speaker 7 (26:05):
Lebron was named a starter for a record twenty first
straight year, but did not see the court.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Giannis to replace Lebron. Let's see how he would?

Speaker 6 (26:13):
Yeah, they get dribbled between the legs. Yeah, I mean
other people's legs.

Speaker 7 (26:16):
Giannis Antennacumpo did not play due to his CAF injury.
Anthony Edwards did not play groin injury. Team Charles Barkley
won its first semi final and then in the finale
started oh of ten shooting from the floor and Chuck's
team from three point range went two of sixteen at
the end. Each player tonight on the championship squad gets

(26:36):
one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars to women's basketball,
and there are some notable games tonight, including at number
one UCLA. Now they did lose at USC earlier in
the week, but for the moment still ranked number one
and played without star center Lauren Betts due to a
foot injury. UCLA survives at home against number twenty two
Michigan State seventy five sixty nine, fourth ranks. South Carolina

(26:57):
had won seventy one straight home games until today, when
they got boat raced by for seven Yukon eighty seven
to fifty eight. Number six USC Tonight was down twelve
late third quarter, but came back to win at Washington
sixty nine sixty four, and number three Texas defeated number
five ranked LSU sixty five fifty eight. Long Horns outscored

(27:20):
him in the fourth twenty one to nine. Men's college
hoops ninth rank Saint John's is thirteen and two in
the Big East after winning seventy nine seventy three over
twenty fourth rated Creighton, which to a state in overtime,
be fourteenth ranked Memphis eighty four to seventy nine. Number
twenty Michigan won eighty six eighty three at Ohio State,
and number twenty five Maryland came back to beat Iowa

(27:40):
one h one seventy five the Daytona five hundred on
Fox TV. Boy, it was a long day in tonight.
William Byron the winner for the second straight year. He
went from ninth place to first on the final lap,
thanks in part to a crash. There was a rain
delay early. It lasted over three hours, So a race
that started at about two pm Eastern Time ended after

(28:00):
nine to thirty pm Eastern Time.

Speaker 6 (28:03):
They knew the rain was coming.

Speaker 7 (28:04):
TV coverage started an hour early today just due to
the forecast. Yankees DH gen Carlo Stanton is uncertain for
opening Day due to yeah, we haven't even played a
game yet.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
That's like two months from now. He's already uncertain.

Speaker 7 (28:17):
The team's first full squad workout at spring training isn't
even until tomorrow. Ludwig Oberg won the PGA event in
San Diego by one stroke, and seven more women have
accused Ravens kicker Justin Tucker of sexual misconduct at high
end spas, according to The Baltimore Banner, which has been
all over this story. So the new total is sixteen
therapists from eight different spas to make allegations of inappropriate

(28:41):
behavior against Tucker.

Speaker 6 (28:43):
Back to you.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
You know, Steve, I heard you tell that. I think
you broke that story to me. I hadn't heard it
today earlier toded, Yeah, I heard the update. I mean
he can't.

Speaker 7 (28:52):
He's going to be suspended, right And all the lawyer
would do was just refer to his original statement.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
You can't refer to your original statement whenever you're adding
more and more.

Speaker 7 (29:03):
A third different update of how many people there are
accusing him, And of course every story on this rightfully
so quotes his own Ravens coach in the Deshaun Watson
case in recent years, saying, oh, yeah, we have a
no tolerance policy, you know, well standing by standing by
from that.

Speaker 6 (29:22):
By the time we get to camp with the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
He has to be suspended by tomorrow. Oh I agree.
I agree, I mean by seriously, by by tomorrow, if
not tonight. I mean, what are you commission where you
at on the beach somewhere? I mean, let's go, there's
this commissioner, I mean the team, the team, the team
or the team. Okay, yeah, so you think this needs
to be we're talking like government versus states. This doesn't

(29:45):
need to be the federal government. This needs to be
a state thing. This needs to be a team thing,
not a league thing. If we're gonna do it that way.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
If I'm the president, I'm calling up somebody there and
say you get him suspended by nine o'clock in the morning,
maybe eight thirty, and what it done. First thing, because
this can't be tolerated. Really, he should be the first
thing they do in the morning is to cut him.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
So when they're done having him be cut, are you
gonna call for both Chris Paul and Victor Wiben Yam
gonna be suspended? Is that your next thing here? Is
not just ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
We're talking about hilarious a skills competition, and we're not
talking about, uh now, had they done this and it's
a regular season game, Like I always praised Blichick for
finding a loophole in a preseason game and someone who
else did that in college where I think it was
down in Alabama or something where you find a loophole
and everybody goes after it and then you have to

(30:36):
make a immediate change in the rules or something like that.
We're talking about a skills competition, something for the fans,
something to be fun. This wasn't something that you just
look at you break the rules and you and you
go out there and you do this.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
This was so bad.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
And to go ahead and get Wemba Yama in his
little tricks and games, you know what I mean, Come on,
that's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Can you think of about what you just said? Now
you're you're comparing this to something that you don't have
any clue on what play or what it was with. Well,
who'd you say? Alabama? Then you said a Belichick thing.
It's an all star game and a skills competition that
I bet you probably couldn't even tell me who won.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I no, I don't know who wanted it right off
the bat. You care, but you're trying to You're trying
to go ahead and cheat. You're trying to go ahead
and do something that smoke. It didn't break the rules
out there, It didn't break the rules. I mean, I
don't know you can put it's.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Just the skills competition.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Like I said, if if this was for a regular
season game and you found some loophole and it helped
to win a game, I'd say, hey, more power to you.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
You're you're smarter than everybody else. Is good for you.
But this is just the skills competition. Man, come on, well,
first of all, who did you first point the finger at?
You pointed it in Chris Paul. Right, but yeah, well
butyon I saw do it. So well, that's what I
was going to say. Hey, you said in the pool
Victor woman yama in on this. He was the mastermind,

(32:05):
he was kaiser, So say Arnie Chris Paul.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
I think they decided before they got together. I think
Chris Paul said, this is what we're gonna do when
we get out there.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Listen, I'm just here to tell you I'm an old man.
I'm get off my launch. I okay, Yes, Saturday nights
in the whole NBA weekend has become like that friend
that name drops all the time. You got a buddy
like that. I know I can be guilty of that.
Sometimes I tell people, Hey, I know Arnie Spaniard, and
I know I know Steve Sager, and I've I met

(32:36):
Aaron Torres. I'm a name dropper. But the NBA All
Star Game is it's not about showcasing your talent. It's
about showcasing all the Hollywood people or the want to
be Hollywood people. I mean, it's just again I miss
the days of Dominique and Spudweb and little guys Duncan

(32:56):
and Jordan from the free throw line. It's just how
do you put what'd you talk about? You talk about Sizzler.
Maybe there's just places now that in things now that
aren't going to work. They all the three point competition, right,
I mean, it's just it's jumped the shark.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
I never thought I never thought Blockbuster would go away,
but it did.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Look it did. Yeah, maybe it's just time to say, hey,
let's just call it what it is. We'll have an
All Star game. Let's quit trying to make it something
it isn't. Give the guys three days off, not a
freaking week, and let's get going. It's not even the
second half of the season. I mean, there's only twenty
five twenty four games left for most teams in the
regular season right now. Like we can't even figure out

(33:38):
the timing of the schedule right for the NBA. So
I'm I'm there. I'll just be honest with you, and
maybe a good night's rest, I don't know, and maybe
hydrating myself will help Arnie, maybe a cold beer. But
I'm just so embarrassed for the NBA. After that, it's like,
what are we even doing? Man? It's it's cringe worthy.
So given the Kevin Hart thing, shock dropping the F bomb,

(33:59):
It's like, what do we even doing? Just then the
Beast thing was the best thing of the the whole night.
Who would have thought that a YouTube star would have
been the guy that saved the NBA All Star Game
this weekend, pulling the dude what? What did Lillard had
to make three before he made one? Was that the
rule on the three point competition or I think so? Yeah,
I'm not sure. It was a great moment. It was
a great moment of dude hits the three. I mean

(34:20):
he had he had a little bit better form than
you and the rec league videos I've seen, Arnie. It's
just hard to watch, man. You know what, here's here's
my rankings of hard things to watch from this week
and number three anything the NBA tried to do on Saturday,
Number two anything the NBA tried to do on Sunday.
And number one was whatever that one on one tournament

(34:41):
is that we've got going on with the w NBA.
Those have been the three hardest things for me to
watch over the past week. Well, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
I was saying to think anything Kevin Hart tried to
do also was you.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Know that's a one A. That's a one A. Blessed
us hard. All right, listen, when we come back to
the Tirack dot Com studios, let's get a first check
of the of the each to the show tonight, and
then Arnie, can we kick off hour two by looking
back on last Sunday. You know, you and I actually
worked during the Super Bowl, so we weren't in during
this time slot. So let's do a little react into

(35:11):
super Bowl fifty nine and get ready for what the
beloved off season nice when fans of crappy teams have hope.
Once again, it's already in Plank on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
All right, it's already in Plank company. You live from
the tire Rack dot Com studios, Ian Roddy producing Mary
mack on. I think they still say the ones in
Tuesday say you're on updates and a great crew behind
the scenes chopping up audio. You want to hit some
tweets here, so we're getting a lot today. At getting
a lot of tweets today, I can't confirm that at

(35:48):
Stinking Genius One at Plank Show, everybody go follow us
at Fox Sports Radio, Russo is the goat. Just hit
us up with this. If Kevin Hart is at the
All Star Game next year, it's going to be even
more annoying. Why doesn't he just shut up instead of talking?
The alleged jokes are not funny, and I think Charles
Barkley would fight that little man if they were not

(36:09):
on TV.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
SHAQ was funnier than Kevin Hart. So is so is
Barkley too Kevin Hart. But Kevin Hart takes those short
jokes personally.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
You know that. Don't you just get so upset about those?
What would you do if you got the ball down
on the post and Kevin Hart was guarding you? Oh,
both to the chin, little hook shot in his face,
John Wrights. The only NBA take I have is MACA
McClung is not in the NBA, but Bronnie James is
one of these players, is deserving and earn the opportunity.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Would not been funny if if Brodny took his father's
place in the.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
All Star Game, that would have been great. So deserving?
Oh been great? I mean, I'm torn on this and
I'll probably ask on every platform in my mom is
the mac McClung thing cool or is it overplayed?

Speaker 3 (36:56):
It was cool the first time. It was a a
little bit played out. The second time, it's played out
the third time. Right, we're pretty much done with it.
We don't we don't care about it anymore.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
People have no memory it was we the Royal We uh,
no memory whatsoever. Because he's not Blake Griffin jumped over
a car. Oh my gosh, he jumped over a car. Mary,
why did you like it? Are you a fan of this?
Mary Mac?

Speaker 4 (37:26):
I'm a big fan. I don't even like the All Star.
My first All Star was last year. That man is
a madman. He is insane. We actually demunked this yesterday.
Blake Griffin actually landed on the hood of the car,
so technically he did not correct.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
He brushed the hood of the car.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
But this man, this man, actually he cleared the car.
He cleared the damn car.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
You go ahead, you jump over, Simpsons did it. And
on top of that, his.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
Brother was spitting on the hoverboard and dunk two balls.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
This man McClung, I'm sorry, he's a go that's by
the way, Mary is the audience for the competition because
you're a casual. You don't care about the NBA. You
just said last year was your first All Star Game,
So you are exactly the target audience for what the
NBA is doing here with this. So I bet you
more people would watch the game if I told you

(38:21):
there was five current NBA coaches, or put seven or
eight out of team five current NBA coaches playing it
against another five current NBA coaches full court. Tell me
how many people would watch that coach on coach game.
That'd be gross. Man, they're all out of shape.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
You saw that Popovich shot from like a couple of
months ago. They replayed that all over Twitter like like
it's like it's crazy, like it's it.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
Would look like, yeah, that's what. That's an exact comparison
I was about to make. People would watch and people
would watch it. I know they know they wouldn't. They'd
be like, why are we watching these old men? Old
people doing things are fun? When it's a twelve second clip,
it was like, all right, here's the thirty minute game.
You're like, oh, they're slow, they're all that's just sad.

(39:09):
It's depressing. Steve Carr hitting Steve Kerr hitting another three voiter.
By the way, Colin brings up a good point. Compliments
from Arnie are truly the best because it's just another
motive for self promotion. Yeah, that's true. Most of your
compliments end up being something to promote yourself. Yeah, I
did congratulate you getting a show.

Speaker 6 (39:27):
I don't do that.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
I appreciate it. Your wager boy rights. Can we just
have one decent NBA All Star Game where someone slaps
the mouthpiece out of Steph's face?

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Is that too much to ask? I said, I wanted
to do that a long time ago. Chris, you know
that that's my thing.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
So and Paul with the take of the weekend. I
guess we just need to make the NFL go to
a forty game schedule. I gave that a thumbs up one.
I like that one. All right. When we come back
to the Dirack dot com studios, more of your tweets
can coming at Steaking Genius one. I'm at Plank show.
Go give us a follow at Fox Sports Radio because

(40:05):
we're gonna talk some NFL And it was quite the
interesting weekend for quarterback rumors. Welcome to an off season.
Probably of more quarterback news NonStop, especially whenever we know
Aaron Rodgers at the least is going to be playing
somewhere else, and maybe another NFL VET as well. It's
aren't even playing a Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Here we go, Hour two coming to you live from
the tire rack dot Com studios, tire iraq dot com.
We'll help you get there. An unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,
free roadh hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
Can I just make a quick little announcement on uh,
Roman numeral eleven subsection three. Hold on here, let me

(40:53):
pull on my Roman numeral eleven subsection three. All right,
let's see here Roman numeral elevens x I other stuff.
Arnie's script have first three seasons.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
I read now the Arnie Spaniers Show. In case people
didn't realize there's a story coming out about the Arnie
Spanier Show. And we had the writer in studio about
three months ago, right, Chris had Yeah, Well, I read
the first three seasons of the script. We read the synopsis,

(41:30):
the overview, the summary, really funny, really good.

Speaker 2 (41:35):
This may be picked up soon.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
I don't know the whole story about how long it
takes to be picked up and then you got to
get the actors and then you gotta film it and
all that. So I guess it's still like another year
or so processed, probably, But it's a lot closer than
it was five six years ago, that's for sure.

Speaker 6 (41:54):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
I guess. So. I mean you're really that's now a decade,
so it's a lot closer than it was five or
six years ago we started. The ill still be two
or three years away. Well, yeah, it could be.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
But my thing is this, Chris, I'm gonna be very
upset if this TV show becomes a big hit and
I it's like another w k RP in Cincinnati or
something to that, and I better get paid.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
Man, I want my money. I want my money. Here's
where I'm confused. Just yeah, I mean, be damned old Roman,
Roman numeral number three and talking about the super Bowl
or the NFL. Let's talk about TV show. Yeah, exactly.
Here's here's where I'm really confused. You're all about this
TV show, but yet it's not even like your name

(42:38):
isn't going to be used and you don't even know
if you're gonna get paid.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
No, but I didn't write it, and it's not my
project and it's not gonna be My name's not being used.
But it is written about me. There's make no mistake
about it. These are these are my stories. There's no
fans or much about that.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
These are your stories. These are my stories. But why okay,
I again, Mary Mack. You were there when the writer
was in studio, right, because here's where I'm confused. Yea,
if this is your story, why would they go to
la Why wouldn't they come to Vermont?

Speaker 3 (43:12):
Well, they wanted They wanted to go ahead and be
in studio and just watch everybody, you know, just watch
the whole radio process.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
That's all they They know the stories. I've told you.
One of the girls was writing the stories, was my sidekick,
so she was there firsthand for a lot of the stories.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
Well it sounds like it's her stories. No, it was
really mostly about me. I just want my money, dude,
that's all I want. I want my money.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
It sounds like that you either want your your payday, yes,
or your name in it. And I don't know if
you're going to get either. Why would they have to
cut buddy, I know, especially with all the time.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
We because a big hid w k RP in Cincinnati too,
and I get no credit for it whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
Oh was that after you as well? W KRP. I'm
just trying to help the portfolio here of money that
you're owed. So we'll see. We'll see if I get
any dough for this. By the way, I did want
to say, I think that's my favorite part of the
Roman Numeral rundown tonight. Yeah. What is that is? Arnie
has Roman Numeral eleven, which is really just a bunch

(44:18):
of stuff that you want to riff on. So it's
like you had a congratulating me on doing the show
for Bernie on Friday Night. Yes, so I want to
congratulate you. You had your script first three seasons, right,
you had Valentine's Day talk and you had Beth going skinny.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
Skiings not skinny, Oh no, not skinny tipping. Don't she
She's going skiing in Colorado without me?

Speaker 2 (44:42):
That was under the other stuff Roman Numeral eleven, Good
v Day, Plank's news show, Arnie script and Beth going skiing?
Why did she have that She's going skiing with her
sister for like a week. Do you want to ski?

Speaker 3 (44:57):
No?

Speaker 2 (44:58):
But I'm like, god, that's expensive.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
The case should I it's expensive to fight from vermonta Eagle, Colorado,
or wherever else she's going to.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
That's a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
Man, I can't afford all these vacations for her.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
I guess I look at things like this a little
bit different than most people. Yeah. I like having my
house to myself. Well I like that too. Yeah, so
if if if my wife wants to leave, I'm like,
you go, you go. Even my kids are now kind
of at that age where they can fin for themselves,
you know, get the house. It is just to go
out to dinner in these towns. I know, I know

(45:34):
spends a man getati here. But you're a rich and
famous Holly. Yeah, Richard, I mean you've first of all,
you've got your how much you're gonna make When Arizona
and New York win ten thousand, you win ten thousand dollars, right,
That won't even pay for her trip. So at I mean,
just go ahead and spend that ten grand. It's as
good as one exactly. And then you add to your

(45:54):
the Hollywood script. I mean you're set.

Speaker 3 (45:56):
I don't know, I'm open I'm hoping to make at
least a mill on the H Hollywood script, even though
at least at least man I consultation.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
Yeah, exactly, Well, I guess technically that's what you are, right,
A consultant on this. I think Ben Affleck should be
in this TV series too. When I was thinking of
people that look like Arnie Spaniard, Ben Affleck was pretty
high on that.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
I think he's a sport man. I think he'd be great.
I think he'd love to be in it. I think
Snoop Dogg would love to be in this thing.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
Paul Giamani would be great if he hadn't already been
a radio program director. I mean, that'd be a guy
that kind of has a little bit of an Arnie
look to him, but it does absolutely. Good luck, good luck. Please.
I know I don't have to ask you to, but
please keep us updated on everything I'm going.

Speaker 3 (46:40):
To You know, I was going to keep it to myself,
but I think now to go ahead and let it out.
Let you guys know where we stand.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
I would like to apologize for misrepresenting the Roman numeral
rundown quickly it's arn even playing on Fox Sports Radio
and I mistakenly said Roman numeral three was looking back
on the Super Bowl. No, no, no, Roman numeral number four.
Before we get into the pending NFL offseason. Any final
thoughts from last Sunday, I mean, really, what can you say?

(47:08):
Philadelphia gave them the beatdown? I think Philadelphia has a
better chance to go back to the Super Bowl than
Kansas City actually has to go back to the Really,
matter of fact, if Kansas City comes back with the
same exact team that they have right now and they
don't really address Kelsey being a year older, or like
I said, the running back situation, which I think they

(47:28):
have to go ahead and do something about that. Obviously,
do something about protecting Mahomes, maybe get themselves a big name,
another big name wide receiver. If they don't address any
of that stuff, then I don't even think they even
get back to the championship game. To be honest, i'd
listen again. I really hope you're right, but I think

(47:52):
they're gonna make moves that are gonna make him better.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
They've obviously they got to do some stuff right, They'll
do some stuff.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
You gotta figure out left tackle right and decide if
you're heading in the same direction at guard because Smith's
free We're talking about the Chiefs here, right, because Smith's
a free agency and I don't know, you know, New
England's formula was never to go out and truly spend
on like a number one receiver. They did it with
Randy Moss for a couple of years, and that was

(48:19):
a little bit later in his career. Troy Brown was good.
You know, the Wes Welkers that, oh, they're not going
to go up with Higgins or anything like that. Why not?
I think it would cost way too much money. I mean,
if you're t Higgins, I know you're looking to get paid,
but I mean you might have a chance to go
in a Super Bowl. Oh I'm not saying that. I'm
not saying that would be a bad place for him

(48:40):
to go.

Speaker 3 (48:41):
I just don't think Kansas City would spend that type
of money on one wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
Why not? If you feel like you're a receiver away,
why not draft the left tackle. I'm just I'm just
being don't know. It seems like it seems like wide
receivers are more up to speed when they get into
the NFL as a rookie, more so than any other position.
Am I wrong on that?

Speaker 3 (48:59):
Or?

Speaker 2 (49:00):
Oh? Wide receivers? The statement Alreadie Spanier has made is
that wide receivers are more up to speed as a
rookie maybe become a faster superstar than any other position.
You know, that's a study we'll have to do. Which
is there a position group that consistently transitions itself to

(49:21):
the NFL quicker, more smoothly. I mean, which term should
we use here?

Speaker 1 (49:26):
Right?

Speaker 2 (49:26):
Faster? There's a lot of good wide receivers out there, right,
but I mean are they? Are they as far as now?
Do it? Okay? Hold on, I'm really You've got me
thinking on this one. Do you want to down to
just say first round picks or second round picks? I
just want to say, in general, first and second round picks. Okay, okay?
Doonsday would be like one that didn't pan out? I

(49:48):
would see, Well, but you're not gonna have one hundred percent, right,
I mean there's going to be you might say a go,
I'd go left tackle. What we'd probably be able to
name two or three tackles that have sucked that were drafted.
I guess my thought is, how do you view you're
you're viewing the Chiefs window as closing if not closed,
that's what I'm hearing from you. If you're like, I
don't know, they can get back to the championship game,

(50:09):
that's a closing window. Why not do something where you
can bring in a number one well, because that's not
some aged guy like they've done recently. I think there
are hamstrung in some ways.

Speaker 3 (50:22):
I'm not so sure they really want Travis Kelcey back.
I think he comes back and lets him know on
March fourteenth or whatever the deadline date is there. So
that's money that's going to be tied up in that situation.
I believe they have to address the running back situation there.
You know, check Go's a free agent next year, and besides,

(50:42):
he was hurt for about what five six games. Yeah,
they brought in Hunt and that's not going to cut it.
So that's got to be a situation they have to address.
And like you said, they got to do something about
the offensive line to protect my homes. That should be
the number one priority for them. Then you're looking for
a wide receiver after everything else is done there.

Speaker 2 (51:04):
So that's why I'm not so sure that's going to
be their number one. Okay, one more thing on this,
because it sounds to me one of the biggest takeaways
for you Sunday is the same thing that I was
going to talk about, which is what does it look
like for the Chiefs going forward? Because Steve Hartman was
talking about this earlier. Boy, I really listened to a
lot of Fox Sports Radio today. Yeah, Dan, he was

(51:25):
talking about with Rich Hornberger. Yeah, everyone, all of the sudden,
Mahomes sucks because he's lost two Super Bowls by a
large margin. He's still Patrick Mahomes. He's still a guy
that in his seven seasons his teams have finished no
worth worse than the AFC Championship Game, and in that
span he's won three Super Bowls. Pretty damn impressive. But
with that in mind, the dudes also making bank. If

(51:48):
you're the Chiefs, knowing where you are, and I know
they've restructured it a few times, do you say, what
would you rather have? We'll spend Xavier Worthy has worked
out as a wide receiver. Yes, Hopkins retire. I don't
know if you can pull juju out of the mothballs again.
Hollywood Brown was a one year deal, I think, and
I didn't he couldn't stay healthy. Do you want us?

(52:11):
Will you take a haircut and help us go get
t Higgins? Or I mean by a haircut? No, what
do you mean by a haircut? Take less money or
just extended? No, I mean to cut his hair. You
think I'm talking about it. I'm not taking any less money. No,
I'm not doing that. Sorry, why not? You can extend
your care team or whatever it has to be, but

(52:34):
I'm not going to take one dollar less to be Okay,
all right, well fine, I'm not saying you should. But
what if the other option is what if we spend
a couple of draft picks on a guy and you
help us identify who that guy is.

Speaker 3 (52:45):
Yeah, that's going to be have to be one of
the decisions they go after is do the draft. And
like I said, that's why I brought up my first
statement was it seems like you can get a star
or a wide receiver and work him into a star
faster than some of the other positions there.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
That's why you're probably going to take a wide receiver
with your draft pick. Okay, I don't know if that's
a true fact or not.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
And I was going to say, maybe the division gets
a little better, but to be honest, the Charges one
eleven games Denver one to ten. I expect the Raiders
to be a little bit better. That's a pretty damn
good division.

Speaker 2 (53:17):
I mean, it's not the NFC North, but it's pretty close.
You know, they had If the Raiders could get a
little bit better, then it might be the second best
division in football. H only one other division North? Hold on,
you got cut out right when you said only one
other division double digit winners, and that was the NFC North. Well,

(53:41):
I don't know if the debate is whether or not
the window is closing for the Chiefs, or whether or
not they need to overspending free agency, or whether or
not I don't know they need to make some sort
of massive shift. I know this much. On the other
side of it, I feel like this window is open
for a while for the Eagles. Arnty are really now
we know it's very fickle. Things went south for what

(54:06):
one season for Andy Reid essentially, and he was gone.
You know, people always played Chip Kelly out like he
was some sort of loser as an NFL coach. Did
you know that in Chip Kelly's first two seasons he
was ten and six and he was ten and six. No,
I didn't remember that. I thought it was worse than that.
With the Eagles, he went ten and six in his
first two years, and then he fell to six and

(54:28):
nine and he got canned. Doug Peterson went thirteen and three,
won the Super Bowl title, went nine and seven, nine
and seven, and then in twenty twenty they went one
and four after the buy and he got canned. So
I'm just saying, you know, everyone's like, oh, they're built
for a long time, but they knee jerk quite a bit.

(54:48):
They really do in Philadelphia, and it's worked to their benefit.
Do you know how many guys who are left on
their roster from the twenty twenty draft five years ago? Right?
That's whenever you have a team that wins a Super Bowl,
you can look back and after like five years, like, man,
they had a great draft, right, one guy is left
on their team from five or something right now, Jalen hurts. Now,

(55:08):
they've crushed it in the last three or four drafts.
They really have. But I as long as they don't
try to get two knee jerky, because every Eagle fan
won a Nick Sirianni canceled fired whatever after his near
loss to the Browns, aren't he. I think they've got
a chance to be really good. And they're in a
tough division too.

Speaker 3 (55:28):
And who's their biggest competition, either Detroit or the Commanders.
That's really about if you look at everybody else, who
else is going to fight you out of coming out
of the NFC other than those other two.

Speaker 2 (55:38):
I mean, you're you're you're burying San Francisco. Well, yeah,
that's true. I mean this was a team that, you know,
San Francisco, prior to the implosion and the injuries this
year had gone what super Bowl, NFC Championship, NFC Championship,
super Bowl and that last place right exactly. I don't know.

(56:01):
I kind of like Green Bay. Nah, they won eleven
and six this year. I'm not sold on Jordan Love. Okay,
I mean again, eleven and six this year. All right,
So you're saying, but you're all in on Washington and
Detroit and Washington in one of their wins was on
a Hail Mary over Chicago. Well, it takes a little

(56:23):
bit of lock sometimes. I just I think Washington's gonna
come back to earth a little bit next year. So
I'm one of those guys who thinks that Dallas is
going to be better, even though everyone hates the Brian
Schottenheim or higher. I think that. I think the Bears
are going to be better next year. I think the
North all right, I'm sorry, I think the NFC. I
think the tougher path is in the NFC than the AFC.

(56:46):
I think the tougher path is for the Eagles than
it is for the Chiefs, right, I mean they own
the Bills.

Speaker 3 (56:52):
Well, the Chiefs still well, you can say they own
the Bills, but let's be honest. That's still a formative
opponent there, and the Bills beat him the regular season,
So what does that matter. Well, just let's say the
Bills the Ravens. There's two right there. The Chargers could
be considered a team that could push the Chiefs three.
I wouldn't quite say Pittsburgh though I wouldn't say they're

(57:15):
on the top of the they're at that level right now.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
Well, when we come back to the tyraq dot com studios,
let's talk about some championship windows in the NFL and
whom we might see it. Maybe at the end of
a window, and maybe some teams that are just starting
to push that window open. I feel Arnie's hot on
the Washington Commanders in case you can't tell, But what
will happen at the quarterback position? We know this much.

(57:37):
Aaron Rodgers is out of New York? Is he dreaming
of the West Coast? We'll dive into it next right
here with Arnie and Blake on Fox Sports Radio. I
can't stop watching the highlights of They know I'm watching
it too. I love it. Matthew Chuck and his brother,
and I think it was I get him confused. I

(57:59):
think with Matthew that was already in the penalty box
and whenever one Steve came over, he's like, yeah, Keith O,
dad's Keith sorry, And then he's yelling at the Canadian
player and he's like, get up. Get I mean, I
don't know anything that's going on with the you know,
the reasoning behind this and the why everyone's so mad.

(58:20):
But aren't I sure?

Speaker 3 (58:21):
I was there for it last I met by the way,
I met him when he was like thirteen years old.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
How about oh really? Oh yeah, it was just which
one Matthew, Matthew, Mighty Brady. I met Steve Sorry Matthew, Matthew. Yeah,
I was just talking to him and he was just
h he was playing against my son and we were
watching one of the games and talking. I didn't know
he was a big star at the time. Good kid,
nice kid, it was. It's fun to see what he's
gotten into now. Yeah, no, uh, whenever, Now, this shows

(58:49):
you feel your age whenever you like. I remember watching
his dad play when he was ten years old. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (58:55):
His dad was Walter kuk Chuck, who played for the Rangers. Right,
what right, isn't that who it was?

Speaker 2 (59:02):
No?

Speaker 3 (59:03):
No, Keith keich excuse me, Keith Kitschok. And the grandfather
was Walt.

Speaker 2 (59:08):
Walter Right, you were close, You were close Keith Kitchack,
who spent a little time in Saint Louis where I
think one of the one of those two kids were born.
But yeah, pretty cool moment this weekend. So we got
in a pointless, meaningless game Team USA playing again. Would
you say that was Tuesday? Were you thinking about going
down to Boston? Yeah, though they're going to play Yeah?

(59:30):
Or tomorrow? Is it tomorrow? Every right? Together? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (59:32):
Okay, tomorrow and Thursday. They'll finish out the little tournament
on Monday, and then Thursday will be the finals. Both
of the games down in Boston, but the game on Thursday.
For you to get a lower Bowl seat, it's got
to be about six seven hundred dollars.

Speaker 2 (59:48):
I was looking into it yesterday. It's a big time
price on that, all right, before we dive into the
quarterback questions, No Todd tonight, Todd is on the road,
So it's just us already in playing here on Fox
Sports Radio with you on Twitter at Stinking Genius One.
I'm at Plank show. Everyone to go follow us at
Fox Sports Radio. I noticed this wasn't on the Roman
Numeral rundown, but it's kind of happening during the show tonight. Okay,

(01:00:15):
Richie Incognito, Oh yeah, I can get to that versus
pro football talk in the latest kind of turn. So
I'm not gonna lie. I completely forgot about this, and
I'm sure for Richie Incognito, whom I love, but it's
a crazy person. I could understand why it might mean
a little bit more to him because it really did

(01:00:36):
cost him some time in his career. But we're twelve
years removed from Bullygate, which was Jonathan Martin v. Richie
and Cognito, and I guess it's been riled back up
because Jonathan Martin said, ESPN is like I never had
a problem with any of it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
First thing, when I saw that, I go, why did
you say that? Ten years after when I read continue
reading it, it is like he did say it, but I
guess I wasn't picked up. I'm like, no, you didn't
say it. If you would have said it, then we
would have dropped it. I didn't remember him saying that
at all.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Well, I don't think we would have. I don't think
we would have dropped it because it was a narrative
that then all of a sudden got crazy hot with
the Pro Football Talks of the world and the espns
of the world, and it was something being pushed by
his parents, which, by the way, I love my son.
He's twenty one years old. I don't really know what
I mean. I'll help him whenever he wants. But if

(01:01:32):
he's an NFL, my son's in the army. But if
he's an NFL guy, Arnie, I mean, what am I
gonna do? Go call Roger Goodell. That's exactly what's apparently
happened here. So Ritchie Andcognito retweeted a Pro Football Talk
tweet and said, this you tried to ruin my career
over a lie. A decade later, Jonathan Martin and Mitzi

(01:01:53):
was never bullied. His mother pushed the narrative of bullying
to the media. Jonathan Martin never believed in the stance
his camp was taking during the Ted Wells investigation, even
the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
Even Cognito just said, I'm sorry, he said. A decade later,
he finally admits it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
I'm I'm reading the tweet just through out it's yeah, okay,
I do you listen to the do you listen to me?

Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
You read it and I just run to repeat that
where he said a decade later, except for Martin said,
he said that he he quit it all up like
ten years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
But I don't remember that. The NFL, the NFL and
the media ran with a false narrative and ruined careers
and moved on. Well. Incognito did get another chance whenever
he ended up with the Raiders, had a good run there.
But I I don't know, dude. I I feel like
this is a powder keg and right right in the

(01:02:49):
perfect spot, the sweet spot of the offseason, to where
it either becomes a way bigger story than it probably
needs to be right now, or it just you know,
it disappears again like most stories. But I figured i'd
bring it up because it's happening right now while the
show's going on.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
And like I said, he did not clear this up
a decade ago, and even Cognito said in this statement,
you just read that here.

Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
It is a decade later and he finally admits it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
So there was either we didn't pick up on it
or we just didn't push the narrative enough.

Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
But yeah, Richie caught a lot of grief at that time.
I had to spend it from the league, a lot
of grief. But I thought he was heard at the
end of his career and it was yeah, yeah, he
was hurt. In fact, the Raiders had end up cutting
him because he I think it was his shoulder that
was tore up. But I'm a it's unfortunate. It's unfortunate

(01:03:41):
because there's certain people where you're like, oh, yeah, that
guy's kind of a weasel. I could see him totally
pushing that. But then on the other side of it,
it's wild that this was something that we were really
really fired up about twelve years ago, right, I mean,
this was a big story, and then how many people
on the other side of it, and Andy were like,
it's it's a locker room. This kind of stuff happens,

(01:04:01):
and it happens a lot. I can't believe it's been
twelve years that's what we started. I honestly thought it
was like five years ago. I was like, twelve years ago.

Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
What, I don't believe that. I'm sorry, I h believe that.

Speaker 2 (01:04:12):
Well, we're coming to you live from the tyrack dot
com studios. Let's sell quarterbacks. But first, Steve Sager is
in the house with everything that's going on, including some
all star in NASCAR. What's going on, Steve Hello?

Speaker 7 (01:04:23):
And by the way, there was the NFL investigation of
all that roughly a decade ago, and they did find
that the harassment which did occur was consistent with workplace bullying.
It's Jonathan Martin saying I didn't feel bullied. Yeah, his quote.
I never believed. I never believed he's saying that I
was being bullied. But telling him, if you read the

(01:04:44):
text of the voice message that Incognito sent him, it
is completely over the line.

Speaker 6 (01:04:50):
Put it that way, It's not like nothing happened.

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
Yeh.

Speaker 7 (01:04:54):
Let's start with Daytona five hundred William Byron, for the
second straight year, had a chance to be champion. Now
things were on Fox TV tonight. Let's get to NASCAR
overtime turn four and to the flag.

Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
Checker is waving and William tier Row has won the
five hundred for the second year in a row, holy out.

Speaker 7 (01:05:18):
He went from ninth place to first on the final
lap thanks in part to a crash. Austin Sindrick had
held the lead heading to the white flag when he
was wiped out in the crash that took out others,
including Denny Hamlin sixth time in the last eight Daytonas
that the race spilled into overtime, so back to back
wins for William Byron and Tyler Reddick finished second. Veteran

(01:05:39):
Jimmy Johnson was third tonight, and yes, the race was completed.
It wasn't looking good although the forecast did say only
a few hours.

Speaker 6 (01:05:47):
Of rain today. It wasn't going to go all night.

Speaker 7 (01:05:49):
But they got eleven laps in at the start and
then a rain delay and we didn't get to actual
racing for over three hours after that. But to get
the rest of the race in, it ended after nine
thirty pm Eastern, not quite as much as kaig men
is at the NBA All Star Game. But we did
have something in San Francisco. I don't know if you

(01:06:09):
call it a game. Steph Curry was on the court
for all of eleven minutes in the final and was
named MVP of the NBA All Star Game, scoring twelve points. Congratulations.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
It was a congratulation Step.

Speaker 7 (01:06:20):
Fourteen mini tournament. In this one, first team to forty
wins the game. Lebron James was out with foot and
ankle soreness. In men's college basketball, number nine Saint John's
is thirteen and two in the Big East after beating
twenty fourth rank Creighton seventy nine seventy three women's college
hoops tonight at number one UCLA. The Bruins did not

(01:06:41):
have star center Lauren Betts due to a foot injury,
trailed in the final minute, but still won at home
seventy five sixty nine against number twenty two Michigan State.
Ludwig Oberg won the PGA event in San Diego by
one stroke. Scottie Scheffler finished third. Three shots back seventy
six on Saturday killed him. Oberg up to number four
in the world ranking. Now Tiger Woods did not play

(01:07:01):
in this event, which benefits his foundation, and it was
held in San Diego this year instead of La due
to the recent fires. Wood said he's not ready for
golf after his mom's recent death. The PGA Tour will
be in Mexico next weekend, and Yes, Hockey's Four Nations
Face So Off continues Monday in Boston.

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Back to you, thanks a lot, Steve de Sieger. We'll
go more in depth on the news and notes in
Tidbits of the day coming up in about ten minutes
from now. Okay, we hit on the Chiefs Eagles final
thoughts looking back at the Eagles Super Bowl championship. A
fairly subdued parade, not too crazy, right, You had the
unfortunate shootings, thankfully nobody. I don't think anyone was seriously injured, right,

(01:07:42):
and no two people got shot shot Well they're alive, right,
so that's a good sign. And Quinyon Mitchell, I guess
was the drunkest person in America on Valentine's Day when
they had that. Did you see him? Holy smokes man. Anyway,
no one had that. Tom Brady being carried out, but
Quinion Mitchell was pretty close. Did you do that for
Valentine's Day? Was that your big thing at all? Liquored up?

(01:08:05):
And no, I can't dude, I'm old man. I can't
drink here. Let me talk to you young alcoholics out there,
enjoyed while you can, because when you hit about forty
six forty seven and you try to live that life,
you get intogestion. It's like, I don't know where it
comes from. I guess, I guess it's crazy. I can't
do it anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
I wouldn't even take my wife out. We cooked at home.
I just made some noise.

Speaker 2 (01:08:25):
Why'd you do that? Why don't you take it out?

Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
I hate waiting in line. It was a Friday night.
Everything was crap waiting in line. Got a place that
you're taking her on Valentine's Day?

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
By the way I went to. I went to the
butcher shop and there's nobody saw your tweets.

Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
Yes, there's nobody inside the butcher shop. And Seve serve
butcher shop, and.

Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
You just you know, you get the meat.

Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
You cut your own piece of meat. Well, it's cut
or ready for you.

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
It's in the fer Yeah, what you pick it out
and leave? I'm so confused. So do you just scan
and go or leave cash or what.

Speaker 3 (01:09:01):
You just pick out the meat you want, then you
walk over to the tablet, you press the thing that
you got. It gives you the total. You you run
your cart down, and you just you leave.

Speaker 2 (01:09:11):
That seems to be I'm just as somebody who as
somebody who buys half a beef every year right right,
goes to the butcher and gets it delivered to me,
as someone who goes and purchases milk from an actual farm. Yes,
I don't know if I feel comfortable where I'd just
be going into a place and it's like there, it

(01:09:32):
is nobody there, You're not a little bit concerning to you.

Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
Or it's like, oh, just as long as nobody tries
to mug me or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
There was nobody around.

Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
I was the a car in the parking lot, so
there was nobody around me. It was like I was
gonna get mugged. I just wasn't quite sure what there's
like round beef over here, sirt lines over here, fla
over here.

Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
Wasn't that hard to figure out.

Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
It's always weird when you walk into a store and
there's nobody there.

Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
You gotta serve, well, what's weirder walking into a store
where no one is there, or trying to decide if
you want to turn to Aaron Rodgers to be your
starting quarterback next year. Where's he gonna end up? I
know everyone automatically projects him to the Titans because of
the Nashville Ties and he I guess he's got a
home in the Nashville area, or at least has talked

(01:10:20):
about building one. It seems as if Colin Coward has
kind of lit the fuse for Los Angeles, which is
fascinating to me. But Adam Schefter as soon as Colin
said that, Schefter came out with a report that the
Giants are not shopping the number three pick, especially for
Matt Stafford. So I don't really know what is the
best course and what say Aaron Rodgers really has in

(01:10:42):
where he could end up on this day where we're
still a few weeks away from the start of the
NFL offseason. In the NFL, I guess you could say,
calendar year, you got a good feel where he ends
up next year. I don't have a great feel.

Speaker 3 (01:10:55):
It depends on you know, the Panthers gonna get rid
of Bryce. Is that gonna be one of the situations
is Jacksonville could have get rid of Trevor Lawrence and
then maybe Jacksonville goes with a part time quarterback of
Aaron Rodgers. That could be that could be a possibility.
Maybe that's something to look at. Is Arizona coulda go
ahead and make a traded quarterback and then they're.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Gonna need one and maybe they go with Aaron.

Speaker 3 (01:11:18):
Rodgers for a year or two. I could see that
is a possibility.

Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
And there was still the word where is that at
well with Arizona? Yeah, in trading Kyler Murray, I haven't
heard that at all. Is that in the Is that
at Arnie's arumors dot com? Or is that something that
I missed? Maybe I've read that in the Onion. Not sure.
I know you can fall for a fake report. I'm

(01:11:41):
just saying no, I thought.

Speaker 3 (01:11:42):
Actually that was a real report on that one, that
it could be out there that he could be gone
and we don't know what's ever is gonna do with
brock perty and I guess Aaron Rodgers would be a
good gap quarterback there also, So there aren't places he
can go. It's not like there's not going to be
a situation for.

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Him I'll tell you what. The place where he might
be able to have the most success could be somewhere
like Cleveland. You know, that's just gonna bring up Cleveland. Yeah,
that team's two years removed from Joe Flacco taking them
to the freaking playoffs, but they are a much different
team and Miles Garrett once out he wants What would

(01:12:21):
you think of Aaron Rodgers in Vegas with Chip Kelly
as your offensive coordinator, Tom Brady's there, Pete Carroll's your coach,
They're going to go spending free agency. They feel like
that they've got to win now, or at least start
winning now. What about Vegas?

Speaker 3 (01:12:38):
I would certainly that'd be very high on my list,
maybe one of my top two places there.

Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Plus maybe is their change.

Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
You can get Devontae Adams back, but you got to
do something about that contract. Nobody wants to get near
him with the money that he's due for next year.
That's going to be a major problem.

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
I think it's more likely that Derek Carr reunites with
DeVante Adams in New York than it is at Aaron
Rodgers and Davonte reunite anywhere. I think I think there's
a chance Derek cars to starting quarterback for the Jets
next day, there's gonna be the starting quarterback for the Giants,
cam Ward. So we're going it. Can you go with

(01:13:14):
a rookie? Why can the Giants afford to If you're
Brian Dayball and Joe Shaneing, you're coaching for your job,
can you afford to go with a rookie. It's not
like they're gonna be that Philodelphia Washington next year. Any
you can't have that mindset. You can't go into that
with that mindset. But they're not even close to being
on the same level as those teams. Well, I mean
it's the NFL. The Commanders had the second pick in

(01:13:35):
the draft last year and what was their They got
Jalen Daniels. I mean that was their big move, j Daniels.
Excuse me. So I'm just I'm not here to say
no one, No, they're not. Maybe the one team I
would say right now, they don't look very close. I
don't know, might be Tennessee, right but even they went
and spin in the offseason last year at wide receiver.
I don't know. I'm just my thought is we always

(01:13:58):
think it's going to be crazy, and every so often
there's a few moves, but the whole idea that Kyler
Murray's going to get traded and the Niners are going
to need a quarterback because they're done with Bertie and
who is the other one with the Matt Stafford trade,
it's some it's not that, you know what crazy, It
can be crazy without completely changing sixteen quarterbacks. You said
the Giants would not trade the number three pick. I didn't.

(01:14:22):
Adam Schefter did right for Matt Stafford, for Matthew Stafford. Okay,
if I'm the Giants, I'm calling up Jacksonville. I'll give
you the number three pick for Trevor Lawrence. I don't think.
I think that's why they hired that goofball. They brought
in because they want to see if they can fix

(01:14:42):
Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
I will do that in a heartbeat. If I'm the Giants,
give me Trevor Lawrence. Now I got my quarterback. I'll
give you the number three pick. I'll move on from that. Yes,
I'll do that right now.

Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
Right now. You sound like you're just making up trades.
But Trevor Willwien's isn't getting traded. Well, but why would
you if you're the Jaguars. One. The Giants do.

Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
Need a quarterback, So that's not made up. That's that's
a real deal.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Plus no you have why don't you just say that
off the third pick for Patrick Mahomes. I mean, well,
they're not going to trade Trevor Lawrence. No, because Patrick's
not going to go to her.

Speaker 3 (01:15:14):
But Trevor Lawrence was rumored when the Pittsburgh deal, even
though they denied that. I really believe there was a
phone call there, and I believe you can get Trevor
Lawrence where there's smoke, there's fire. It's not like he's
a Patrick Rawlmes where he's untouchable.

Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
Don't be like that. I think he could be out
for the right amount, for the right trade. I mean,
the Jaguars came right out when that rumor started and
said they're not trading him. What do you like that
comes down somebody, some reporter just made that up? Then
you you literally just made up a Trevor Lawrence trade
rumor to the Giants. No, I just said, let me

(01:15:48):
explain how it can happen, because you just said, Wow,
if I'm the Giants, I called Trevor and try to
trade for Trevor Lawrence right, well, right, and then some
dude might have Pro Football Rumors dot Com. He's like
Fox Sports host reporting that the Giants Toby training for
Trevor Lawrence up. I didn't report it. I just said, hey,
if on the Giant I'm calling down there. That's all.

(01:16:12):
When we come back, let's get caught up on all
the tipits in the world of sports with Steve de
Sager right here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's
Arnie and Plank coming to your live from the Tirack
dot Com studios. Sager joins us, Arnie basically has every
quarterback being traded now Kylin, Trevor Lawrence, love it. What's
going on, Steve.

Speaker 7 (01:16:33):
Well, as we talk about how let's say lackluster the
entire NBA All Star weekend was overall, we have not
mentioned that. As we had the Team Spurs attempting to
cheat in the skills contest last night. There was the
point live on TNT where the sideline reporter Ali LaForce
goes over there to try and interview the seeded Wimbin

(01:16:55):
Yama and Chris Paul about what's going on, and somebody,
I can only assume from the the NBA literally steps
in front of her on live TV and says we're
not doing that. We're not doing that, and shoos her away,
and she says I'm getting the Heisman and walks away.
Yet again, people trying to exert a ridiculous amount of
power to control the message and come off looking like idiots.

(01:17:19):
Which brings me to Texas A and M baseball, which
we brought up last night. Rank number one in the country,
and yet their interview policy actually on their website says
not only on game days, we'll have interviews about ten
minutes after the game. But then it said in parentheses
note players will not be available following a loss.

Speaker 6 (01:17:39):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (01:17:39):
What wow?

Speaker 7 (01:17:41):
And so then tonight, exactly tonight, there's an update that
the university's baseball interview policy is no longer listed on
the website. It was quote reevaluated and updated. Thank you,
because the season was just starting. What are you telling
your players if literally you won't allow them.

Speaker 6 (01:18:02):
To speak to face the meeta.

Speaker 7 (01:18:04):
Who I'm guessing is you know this isn't face the
nation people are exactly after a loss, what are you
teaching them?

Speaker 6 (01:18:12):
This is college? What are you teaching them?

Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
So Lincoln Riley used to do the no freshman He
wouldn't let freshmen talk, and I thought that was pretty insane.
Just let them talk, what are they gonna do?

Speaker 6 (01:18:22):
But this this is like literally the whole rosters. It's
unavailable after we lose a game. That was going to
be the policy.

Speaker 7 (01:18:30):
Well, we did have quite a scoring machine on the
court in women's basketball today for Vanderbilt. Mikayla Blake's fifty
five points a Division One women's freshman record playing all
forty five minutes on the court in an overtime victory
at Auburn, and in late January she'd scored fifty three
in a win at Florida. Here, Vandy is six and

(01:18:51):
six in conference. They'll be hosting famed South Carolina next Sunday.
But the folks at stats in says the last person
to have a fifty five point game or more while
playing every second of the game, whether women's or men's
Division one, whether WNBA or NBA was Lebron James twenty
years ago in a fifty six point game. As far

(01:19:13):
as the NHL, their All Star Game a year ago
in the TV ratings drew just under one point four
million viewers on ABC last night was four point four
million viewers on ABC for the US win at Canada.
In other words, almost as many viewers as the NBA
All Star Game got a couple of years ago. Just
for the record, So yes, they have stumbled on something

(01:19:36):
and this tournament. The four Nations face off in hockey
continues in Boston, with the round robin finishing up with
Sweden at the US tomorrow night. The championship game is
Thursday night in the US at two and zero will
be in there Saturday. The US won the game at Canada.
The NHL is off for almost two weeks until Saturday,
the twenty second no NHL All Star Game this year.

Speaker 6 (01:19:57):
This is instead of that.

Speaker 7 (01:19:59):
The Rodgers full squad workouts at spring training started yesterday,
Cubs on Friday. It'll be Dodgers against Cubs, opening in
March in Tokyo with games at six am Eastern time.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
Beg you that's primetime viewing for US early risers. Thanks Steve. Hey,
when we come back, let's play a little window opened
or closed now we're talking about championship windows. We got
a little bit more from the NBA All Star a weekend.
Anybody want to talk second half of the NBA season,
plus a little college basketball as well. Here on Fox

(01:20:32):
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
All right, it's already in plank, final hour, Power hour coming?
Are you? You're a little grumpy tonight? We have a
foot of snow here and all that shoveling. You haven't
done any of the shoveling.

Speaker 3 (01:20:50):
No, but I got tired watching my wife shovel exhausting geez.

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
Does she not let you shovel because you did it
wrong at some point or she's you're gonna have a
heart attack? Or do you make her? The nickname of
the snow that we had today was called the widow Maker.
Oh okay, yeah, so we we don't want me shoveling
during the widow Maker. Why do we keep naming winter storms? Yeah,

(01:21:16):
it just snowed. We had a lot, well, we had
a foot of snow in the last twenty week. It
just stopped snowing in twenty four hours. Is that? Uh?
I mean this is abnormal, right. I know you get
a lot of snow in Vermont anyway, but this is
like a lot, right.

Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
I mean above average is certainly above average. And then
you have to wait for the plows to come by
and pile your street and then pile your you know, driveway,
and then if they don't come, I make my wife
go out there and do it.

Speaker 2 (01:21:42):
So it's you know, lots of lots to do out there.
What would you make your wife or your son whenever
my son's in Cincinnati, Well, I just meant whenever he well,
when he lived with you guys, you never lived in Vermont, right.

Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
No, no, you know he's lived here. He comes back,
he'll be back. But no, we would make my wife
shovel anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:21:58):
She enjoys it. Us. I don't want to take that
away from her. I don't want to take that joy
away from her. Don't want to well that at all.
We're coming to you live from the ti rack dot
com studios. Tire rack dot com will help you get
there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com
the way tire buying should be. I am. I know

(01:22:19):
there's always I don't necessarily want to say a fight,
but kind of a disagreement in the off season storylines,
like the biggest offseason storylines I'll give you, for instance,
I was watching an unnamed sports network and they had
one of the biggest off sat like, one of the
top three Arnie offensive storyline NFL storylines of the off
season was where will Devonte Adams land? Right, that's not

(01:22:43):
even on my radar as a big story right now,
not at all. That's would be. So I've got I've
got three here that I want to pose to you
real quick, all right, go ahead? Is number one Travis
Kelcey's future and what he decides now in the grand
scheme of things. A Titan who had one playoff game
where you look like Travis kelce and lost the super

(01:23:03):
I don't know if it's a big story, but everything
about him, everything around him. You can't watch a sporting
event without a commercial with him and his brother in it.
You can't watch TMZ without a mitchet of him, if
anyone watches TMZ. I don't know, but I mean, is
this a in your opinion? Is this one of the
top storylines? Because I was having a hard time trying

(01:23:24):
to figure out where to put it.

Speaker 3 (01:23:26):
It is it is probably the top storyline, though I believe.

Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
Ninety five percent he's going to come back, So yes,
it's the.

Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
Top storyline, But I believe he's pretty certain that he'll
come back and he'll play one more year. I think
he's got about one more year left in him.

Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
What's your feeling as to the why behind he's going
to come back, because I don't know if I've ever
seen anything Alreadie more split with everyone's opinion. Oh really, yeah?
I was well, I mean, were you seeing the aggregation
from what the NFL insiders said? And I felt like
he was done well. I know that he would show
that clip of him not standing around doing nothing, but

(01:24:06):
Mahomes was, you know, scrambling, and say, you see he
doesn't care, he doesn't want to come back. I think
he'll actually use that as motivation, saying I don't want
to go out like that.

Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
I want one more year, and I think we'll end
up with one more year. I don't think he's ready
to call it quid chet. I think he likes playing
football too much, so one more year is certainly doable
for it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:25):
Serious question, what does he still have to prove? I
don't think he has anything to prove other than solidify
he's the best tight end in the history of the game. Well,
that's always going to be Gronk. Right, No, No, that's
not gonna be always Gronk. Why not? So you think
Kelsey's surpassed I don't have I don't have the stats
in front of me.

Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
But yeah, I do think that Kelsey has surpassed him
or has right.

Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
By the way, I'm joking Tony Gonzalez. I think is
the greatest tight end of all time. Right, Okay, maybe
Jason Witten up there. No, no, Jason wouldn't stop it.
You don't think Jason wins one of the top tight
ends of all time. If you want to throw in
one more, maybe I'll give you a Kellen Winslow. But
that's about it. Shannon Sharp, Hall of Fame, that one too, Yes,
that one too, Mike Ditka, Antonio Gates, Antonio Gates, I

(01:25:13):
hate when you guys do this to me. Well, I'm
I'm just asking. I'm just asking. So anyway, the point being,
I think he's I think it's a big story. I
have no beat on it. I have no feel Arnie.
You seem pretty confident he's gonna come back. I have
no idea. I think it's one of the major offseason stories.
I think what we spent last segment talking about is
a major storyline quarterback movement.

Speaker 1 (01:25:34):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:25:34):
I don't know how many quarterbacks are gonna end up moving.
I don't know how many different faces in different places
we're gonna have. But we know at least what two
or three starting quarterbacks from Week one last year are
going somewhere else. Aaron Rodgers is going to be somewhere else,
and Kirk Cousins, and I think it's somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (01:25:52):
And I think it does tie to the draft obviously, sure,
because what are they gonna do with Sanders?

Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
What are they gonna do with Ward? Are is that.

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
Number three pick going to be traded or the Giant's
gonna hold on to it? Is somebody gonna trade up
and get one of the quarterbacks? So there's a lot
of questions to still be answered.

Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
And there seems to be in this is the hard
part for me engaging all right in these mock drafts.
Who really has something like? Who knows? Because everyone has
Shadoor Sanders falling to like six now and ending up
with the Raiders and cam Ward being the first quarterback

(01:26:29):
off the board and that being if not one three,
And honestly, Arnie, it seems like a lot of people
view that one pick now anything but a quarterback like
Travis Hunter one or I'll do Carter. So I'm curious
to see what happens because I'm not going to allow
myself to fall into a trap that if Tennessee views
one of these quarterbacks as a franchise quarterback, that they're
gonna pass on them. I just don't think they can.

Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
No, But can you if somebody wants to take well,
you said Sanders is the number one pick, though, I
make a Hunter, excuse me, a Hunter. Or if somebody
wants to if you really want Hunter, you could trade
down and get Hunter.

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
Let somebody else take a quarterback. If that's the way
it's gonna go, well, well, how far are you willing
to risk that?

Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
I'm not willing to risk it too much? Right oh,
that it's not going to get a veteran quarterback. Like
if I'm Tennessee, huh, and I'm gonna get Let's say
I signed Aaron Rodgers just for the hell of it,
he's gonna be my quarterback. Then I'm willing to trade
down in one or two spots to get Hunter. If
somebody wants to trade up to get themselves a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
I don't. Here's my theory on it, and I know
you're always a big trade back and get more picks
kind of a guy. If you got a guy that
you're like and you're sitting at number one, take them.
I mean you can't trust anyone behind you. Someone might
jump up to get him. Then you don't know what's
gonna happen at too, because aren't you the team at
two is not gonna take a quarterback. Yeah, but do

(01:27:49):
you My question is this is the number.

Speaker 3 (01:27:52):
One pick worth a lot more now because this is
a lack of quarterbacks or is it better when there's
a whole bunch of quarterbacks. I gotta think it's worth
more now because there's only two quarterbacks at the top
of the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:28:04):
Or am I wrong on that? I don't know. It depends, honestly,
how people view them. If you get a team like
let's say the Jets sitting at seven, and they fall
in love with cam Ward, well it doesn't matter how
many quarterbacks are available. If they love cam Ward, that's
good for you. And I say the Browns at two
aren't gonna go quarterback. But honestly, Arnie, I'm not so
sure that they wouldn't right. I mean, I don't know

(01:28:25):
why I'm so confident about it. Right now, they're stuck
with Deshaun Watson, and now they're starting to Aggregators out
there are trying to start the rumors that maybe Miles
Garrett and Deshaun Watson, you know, he could Miles Deshaun
Watson could be a throw in on a Miles Garrett neil.
I don't know how the finances of that would work, right,
But you do have teams in one, two, and three
that are in the quarterback conversation four and five or not.

(01:28:51):
What may said in New England, And I don't care
what you say, Trevor Lawrence isn't going anywhere in Jackson.
Two quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
Three teams need a quarterback because somebody's gonna be on
the aside looking at it, somebody's got a side a
veteran quarterback out of those three teams.

Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
That's just that's just simple math. You can't do anything else. Well,
I mean, do they the Titans still have Levis if
they want to use him. I thought they're done with
that guy. Well, he's he's still on their team, right
thought they want to move past them. The Brown still
have jamis. I mean, if they want him, come on, well, okay,

(01:29:23):
what veteran quarterback out there is wowed you at all?
I mean, go side a veteran. It's like you think
Aaron Rodgers is going to Cleveland. If I'm the Browns,
I would certainly look into Matthew Stafford if they want
to get rid of him. I mean, if Stafford isn't available, dude,
he's you got to trade resources for him. He's not
a free agent.

Speaker 3 (01:29:42):
I understand that I'm not going to give the number
two pick up if that's what they're asking for him.

Speaker 2 (01:29:47):
This idea that Matthew Stafford is worth a top ten
pick is going to make me tear out every single
piece of hair that I have left. Dude, he's like
thirty five years old, thirty six? What are we doing
right now? Well? What are they asking for him? Or
is he really not available? I don't think he's available.
I don't think. I love that Colin threw it out
there and I and I think it makes sense. But

(01:30:08):
the idea that they're tired of his wife talking like
I haven't heard I'm gonna use this phrase that my
dad used to use, So please don't get mad at me.
I haven't heard her pipe up in a couple of weeks,
a couple of years, aren't you. I mean, she got
a little bit over her skis what like three years
ago with their podcast, right, And I mean I don't
I don't hear too much from her. Maybe I'm not
listening to the right thing, but I also don't think

(01:30:30):
that's a reason why you trade a guy that you
think you can win with. And by the way, the
Rams are still winning football games with Matthew Stafford. So
the fact that you were like, we're gonna blow it up,
gonna blow it up and try that just doesn't make
a lot of sense. Six of six. I don't think

(01:30:50):
that they'll be making a deal getting rid of six
for a quarterback if that was what you were going
to ask or what you were going to bring up there.
It's six I think the quarterbacks in the draft or
one through three, six, seven, and nine in the top ten.
And I don't know if because last year at this time,
no one thought Michael Pinnix was going to be a

(01:31:11):
top ten pick.

Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
In fact, even leading up to the draft, they didn't
know if he was going to be a top fifteen pick.
And he ended up going what eight to the Falcons
last year. So I'm not getting too carried away with
only two quarterbacks because you know what we have next week?
We got the combine. And when when your new starting
quarterback for the Dolphins, Arnie Jalen Milroe goes out there
and runs like it, No, don't do that. Everyone's gonna

(01:31:33):
fall in love. Don't do that.

Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
And you still didn't bring up some of the other
veteran quarterbacks out there that could end up being either
a free agent or had for the right price too.

Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
Who am I missing? Well? We brought a price young, right,
I mean, is he gonna be available? They're gonna end
up keeping him? What happened there?

Speaker 3 (01:31:52):
I mean they ended up benching him, right, and then
all of a sudden everything's okay. Now things are copa setic,
everything's okay down there or what I think?

Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
I think they were pretty happy about the way things
finished with him last year. In fact, there was a
there was a report from al dot com that said
that Bryce Young has been involved in helping them plan
their off season. Wow, okay, that was a quick one
eighty on that. Then, well, I mean, did you he
played pretty well in the latter part of the season,

(01:32:22):
he got binched and then he I thought he played
really well down the stretch, but he played better, that's
for damn sure. He played cry well down the stretch
compared to guys like Tula and Carr.

Speaker 3 (01:32:33):
Where's he going to end up? But what about Sam Darnold?
What's gonna happen there? Is he going back to the
Minnesota that's a done deal?

Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
Or what?

Speaker 6 (01:32:38):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
Ian, you listen to this show, right? What did I
say Derek Carr was going to end up? Whereas you?
You never listened to the New York Jets, aren'ty He's
a starting quarterback for the Jets next year. I don't
know about Donald. That's the big unknown because there's a
part of me that thinks the Vikings are going to
do everything they can to bring him back. And I
know you're gonna say, right, they got JJ, so they're

(01:33:01):
good to go, right, They're setting now because they got
JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (01:33:04):
And I'm not going to pay Sam Donald the money
that he's going to be asking.

Speaker 2 (01:33:07):
I'm sorry anywhere? Oh no, no, if I'm Minnesota, why not?
Because I have McCarthy. Are you sure he's going to
be one hundred percent pretty serious. Well, look, I'm assuming
he's If he's not one hundred percent that I got
to go ahead and and and bring him back. But
I'm assuming he's going to be okay to play. I

(01:33:27):
was in Viking fans are a head over heels over him.
What did you see from JJ McCarthy throwing the ball
in college that wowed you? It was the one preseason game, right,
I mean, he had one drive against the Raiders in
my preseason Hall of Fame though, didn't we or what
I think? So? And then he got hurt. So I
understand the hype. But what about San Francisco for Sam Darnold.

(01:33:50):
If you're not going to commit to brock Purty giving
money to brock Purchy, what is brock perty end? Who's
going to give him money? I mean, he's got one
more year on his deal. I mean, you'll have to
work that out. But I don't think. I don't think.
First of all, I don't think brock Perty's going anywhere.
I think the Sam Darnold is fun to talk about.
I wouldn't surprise me at all if San Francisco brings

(01:34:11):
in Kirk Cousins as a potential backup, and I think
Cousins would like to go there. I mean, wasn't it
always rumored Alrenie? How many times did we sit here
on a Sunday night whenever there was all these questions
about where's Kirk Cousins gonna go when he was with Washington,
right because Washington never respected him and never gave him
the deal and we all thought Kyle Shanahan and it

(01:34:32):
just never worked out. Well, now's an opportunity for him
to potentially go there and back up for a year, right.
I just don't think that. I don't think Sam Darnald
is going to be I don't think he's going to
be in demand as much as others think you will.
I think a lot of people look at it as
being a pretty specific to what they were doing in Minnesota. Think, well,

(01:34:55):
that's the one thing that's turning me off about him
is supposedly all the money that he's going to demand
forty million a year for five years. I'm not giving
him two hundred million dollars If that's what it's going
to come down to. It's going right now for a quarterback,
and I'm with you for Sam Arnold. I guess there
was really if you think about it. One more quarterback question.

(01:35:17):
It's Arny playing company live from the tire rack dot Com.
I'm doing one on that. Kyle Murray one right, that's
Mark Kyler. Yeah, I think so. I guess the only
quarterback question that we have left to ask Arneie is
exactly what do the Steelers do? Right? Because you that's
the big question, right. Both of those quarterbacks were on
one year deals, Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. There's rumors

(01:35:38):
that they want to bring back Russell Wilson. But maybe
Russell Wilson might have eyes to team back up with
Pete Carroll. Maybe Chip Kelly looks at it and says, no, no, no,
I like that Justin Fields guy running my offense. I
don't know. And could a team like the Colts be
in play for a quarterback right now since Anthony Richardson
hasn't been able to stay on the field. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
But could Pittsburgh get in the Sam Darnold game? Well,
what options are you giving me with Pittsburgh? Are you
telling me it's got to be Russell Wilson.

Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
It's got why you want to go well out of
all because the one person I want. You told me
he's not available. That's Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence, okay, because about Pittsburgh,
and I know that rumor started about three four days ago.
That's the number one quarterback I want. If I can't
have him, now, what you're gonna make me do is

(01:36:29):
probably go with Aaron Rodgers for years. An interesting fit. Yeah,
Aaron Rodgers for two years. I still have fields as
might back up. I'm getting rid of Russell Wilson and
I'm gonna move on after that. That's that's probably the
direction I'm gonna go in. Can I It wouldn't surprise
me either or see them you know they they drafted
Can you picket in the first round a couple of

(01:36:49):
years ago? It didn't work right? Uh? And they're not
necessarily sitting in a in a great spot to reach
for a quarterback or have a quarterback fall for them.
But surprised me and all to see him pick a
quarterback in the second round, like I can see Will
Howard there are maybe would you like Jackson Dart or
something like? I love Jackson Dart. Yeah is the first

(01:37:10):
he's a second round pick too. He's a second round pick.
But I think you could see a team that trades
back in the first round to get him if their
quarterback needy. I will say this the one question I
have in all of this, and we'll get a break
and we'll get to your tweets coming up next. I
guess my question is I'm not buying the Lawrence thing.
Jacksonville came out. I know you're all in on it
right now. Jacksonville came out. Teams will come out and

(01:37:32):
shut down trade rumors, and they did. You know, teams
just usually stay quiet. They shut that down. So I'm
not buying any of that. But I don't. I mean,
you drop the line where they're smoke, there's fire. I
don't know what to make of this Matt Stafford stuff,
Like where did it start? Is that was before Colin?

Speaker 3 (01:37:47):
Even Colin picked that up also, but that was it
was rumors before Colin that Stafford was on the trading block.

Speaker 2 (01:37:54):
You questioning Colin cowards? No, no, no, not at all,
not at all. Never. I do laugh because if you
kind of just look up Matt Stafford trade rumors, every
single story that's being written goes back to Collins report. So,
like I said, I don't know what's real and what

(01:38:14):
is in right now. But welcome to Lion season anyway.
And I'm not talking to Troit Lions. I'm talking lying period. Right.
No one's going to tell you how they feel about
the draft unless they're trying to make you do something
they want. And I don't know what to believe right
now when it comes to like who's going to be
a free agent, who's going to be on the trade block,

(01:38:34):
because you just don't know. It's hard to figure out, Arnie,
what's real and what isn't. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:38:40):
Obviously, money is going to be a big factor. But
if you can get a quarterback on that rookie deal,
that means so much more than having a veteran quarterback
like Sam Darnold for forty million dollars a year.

Speaker 2 (01:38:50):
I promise you that.

Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
Well, I mean, Matt Stafford's not coming cheap. No, that's
true too. I agree with you there, that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:38:56):
We're company live from the tiraq dot com studios with
a reminder, have you checked out our YouTube page? Now,
we're not on there yet maybe someday, but check out
the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. There's a ton of
great videos from many of our Fox Sports Radio shows.

whole bunch of video highlights from our shows. And be

(01:39:16):
sure to subscribe so you always have instant access to
our FSR videos on YouTube. It's aren't even playing on
Fox Sports Radio. Oh lie, I'm a little disappointed in
this real ma numeral rundown tonight.

Speaker 6 (01:39:29):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:39:29):
I don't know why, Well, because there's no mention of
the Daytona five hundred on here. Oh by the way,
real quick before we get to there. Two other things.

Speaker 3 (01:39:40):
Did you see Lebron go into the locker room before
the game. No, he went into the locker room before
the game. I I various locker rooms, sut Jason Tatum
and you know, gave him a big hug, and you
know they were kissing and who knows whatever, you know what,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
They just a bro hug and right, you're the man.

Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
I love you, you know what, I love you. And then
he saw somebody else and another big hug and I
love you man in case on Kevin Durant and they
were like long lost brothers.

Speaker 2 (01:40:13):
Then he saw Jalen Brown walked.

Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
Up to him and just like gave him a handshake,
and they both just kind of turned their.

Speaker 2 (01:40:19):
Head real quick and is there beef there? Oh? Yeah, really?

Speaker 3 (01:40:23):
Oh allegedly Lebron just does not like Jalen Brown at all.
And they both they walked up and they just they
did the regular handshake. Hi, how are you good to
meet you, sir? Thank you, and I just turned his
back and walked away. You know, it was it was
so uncomfortable. It was so uncomfortable. It was hysterical. And
by the way, you saw something that.

Speaker 2 (01:40:43):
I saw, you know what it was? I forget. I
just remembered it. Well, do you know what Jalen Brown did.
He publicly criticized Brownie James last.

Speaker 3 (01:40:52):
Oh that's right, that's when he was in the stands, remember, yeah, yeah,
and he holds a crudge over that.

Speaker 2 (01:40:59):
I mean, I would you if someone was dogging your son.
I guess, I don't know. I just that's that's I
remember that. And by the way, Celtic fans, you couldn't
stand Jalen Brown until like last year. He's terrible, He's
ruined things for Tatum. Then all of a sudden he
has a good run and you want to tie to
like he is the greatest thing ever, so more Celtics

(01:41:21):
fans probably sided with Lebron with he gave me the
old white man handshake, Hi, how are you so?

Speaker 7 (01:41:29):
But after guys, afterwards, he then went on to like
continue doing the big fold someone else after Oh he.

Speaker 3 (01:41:38):
Did it to everybody in the locker group other than
Jaylen Brown.

Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
Yeah, I bet it's the Browny criticism asked.

Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
To be And also I sent you a fun little list.
I don't know if it's good to do on radio
about which, Well, nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:41:51):
Better than to do something that might not be good to.

Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
Do on which generation? Which generation had the better best
five in the NBA? And we both said Boomers it
was by far, by far the best five out of
all the other generations out there.

Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
For well, just to give you, they go Gen Z Millennials,
gen X baby Boomers, and I guess the old schools
called the Silent generation. Yes, So for instance.

Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
The.

Speaker 2 (01:42:19):
Five on the Silent generation are Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell,
Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Luel Cinder. That's a pretty
good five. Pretty good baby Boomers would be Michael Jordan,
Keem Abdulla, Elijah on On, Magic Johnson, Charles Barklay and Larry Bird.
Game set and match there, everybody, you're righty for a second,

(01:42:41):
that's done. Yes, gen X, Kobe, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett,
Shaq and Allen Iverson. That's the second best. Millennials, Steph Curry,
Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Jokich and Harden third best. And
then they have gen z As, Tatum, Shay, Victor Winbin Yah, Victor,
Wimban Yam. But what is he? Anthony Edwards and Luca Luca. Yeah,

(01:43:05):
I think you can take the baby boomers there, oh,
for for sure. And it was it's fairly recent hoops.
If you want to see the actual picture itself, it's
at Legion Hoops that has it. Artie loves his generational talk,
and I think in your mind there's no better generation
than that generation. When it comes to hoops. It sticks

(01:43:26):
out like a sore thumb, it really does.

Speaker 5 (01:43:28):
Do you know?

Speaker 2 (01:43:29):
Yeah? Do you know what made me sad today? Not?
I mean it's it's sad as you could get thinking
about the NBA. They had the last dance this morning.
They were reairing it on ESPN. I just I didn't
sit and watch the whole thing because I've watched it
a couple of times, but they had the the flu game.
They were showing the everything around that, and I just

(01:43:50):
even though that was you know, still the internet wasn't
around yet, NBA wasn't on every night, right, there wasn't
a massive TV deal, but sports radio was added Zenith
Arnie Spaniard one on one Sports every night. You know,
it was big. There was so much passion for that series.

(01:44:10):
I mean, and just to see that's Utah versus Chicago,
the Utah Jazz and we talk about the possibility of
this year's finals being the Cavaliers versus Oklahoma City and
it's again, I know there's no Jordan here, but and
I'm not I wasn't even thinking about that, but it is.
It does make you miss whenever you had everyone that

(01:44:34):
was in on it, right, everyone wanted to see that,
And now we got NBA Finals where you're like, that's
all the people that are watching this thing. I don't
know how you get back. Maybe if Michael Jordan can,
I don't know, be thirty years younger, that might help.
But Arnie, we loved the NBA, then we love the Bulls,
and that was a those were wild series that they
had with the Utah Jazz. It's hard to believe that

(01:44:58):
when I was getting to NBA with Magic and Larry
came into the NBA, that the NBA Finals were taped
away to take eleven thirty at night on CBS. If
you wanted to go ahead and watch the game.

Speaker 3 (01:45:09):
And you didn't get to score so easily like you
do now, you had like listen to the radio at fifteen.

Speaker 2 (01:45:17):
Yeah, yeah, you even got yep. Crazy what Magic and
Larry brought it as in TV revenue. It's just crazy.
The NBA had an alleged problem with people that loved cocaine,
and then Larry and Magic kind of saved the day.
All right. With that in mind, I think we figured

(01:45:38):
out what Arnie was saying because I was in with him.
Let's bring Steve to Seger in here for one final
time to get a scought up with what's trending, and
then we'll get to your tweets the rest of the way.
What's going on, Steve.

Speaker 7 (01:45:47):
As far as Jalen Brown's comment, which I think he
was caught saying, I don't think Bronnie James is a pro.
That's right, Bronnie James in seventeen NBA games is seven
of twenty eight shooting. I believe an NBA champion has
a right to have that opinion.

Speaker 2 (01:46:01):
You're gonna get snubbed by Lebron. You better watch out.
Brother doesn't like you, now, Steve.

Speaker 6 (01:46:06):
Okay, I'll go one sentence later.

Speaker 7 (01:46:07):
If his name was Brownie Smith, he wouldn't have been drafted,
and he wouldn't have even gotten these few games.

Speaker 2 (01:46:12):
And we're gonna need somebody to replace the saga.

Speaker 6 (01:46:14):
Now, you no if you want excitement.

Speaker 7 (01:46:17):
It was the Lake College basketball game on the men's
side tonight, as Louisville won at Notre Dame seventy five sixty.
That's another loss for the Irish eleven and fourteen could
be missing the postseason again, and afterwards a rant from
the head coach Mica H. Shrewsbury of the Irish going on,
don't give up on these kids. You know I know
who I am, know.

Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
Who I am, I know I can coach basketball. I
know I'm turning this program around. So you gave up
on me already? Yeah see you back here? Okay, don't
receives kids because we don't get this thing rolling.

Speaker 1 (01:46:52):
So I sat there and watched more uible things in here.

Speaker 2 (01:46:54):
Than Notre Dame people. Oh that's embarrassing. That's embarrassing for me.

Speaker 6 (01:46:59):
Okay, yeah, and so it's the win losser.

Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
I think you're embarrassing. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:47:04):
And it went on, and he finally just literally swiped
the microphone off the table as he got up and
left the press conference at the end, to which if
I were in the room and had another question, I
would say, can we speak to an adult please?

Speaker 2 (01:47:17):
Why five and ninety conference is not going to cut it?
I'm not sure.

Speaker 7 (01:47:20):
Meanwhile, ninth rank Saint John's in the Big East thirteen
and two, the Red Storm beat Creighton seventy nine seventy three,
which Toss State has won four straight after starting one
and seven in its conferences. Play overtime Shockers shocked fourteenth
ranked Memphis eighty four to seventy nine. Memphis had been
eleven and one in the American Conference. Number twenty Michigan

(01:47:41):
won at Ohio State eighty six eighty three. This was
Ohio State's first sellout crowd of the season, but the
team is seven and eight in conference now, but Michigan
is twelve and two in the Big Ten Conference. One
game ahead of Michigan State and on Fox TV this
Friday night, Michigan State at Michigan. Three weeks left in
college hoops regular season number twenty five. Maryland was trailing

(01:48:03):
at home to Iowa at halftime by four, but beat
him one oh one. Seventy five Maryland starters, just the
starter scored ninety five points.

Speaker 6 (01:48:11):
Today.

Speaker 7 (01:48:12):
Maryland as a team scored its most points in a
Big Ten game since entering that league a decade ago.
And New Mexico is fourteen and one in the Mountain
West after edging Utah State eighty two to seventy nine.
Lobos now two games up. And then there was the
NBA All Star Game. There was a lot of talking,
there was some action on the court in San Francisco.

(01:48:32):
Eventually the final went to Team Shack forty one twenty five.
You see, it was a fourteen mini tournament tonight. For
each game, the winner was the first team to reach
forty points. Steph Curry, the MVP of the All Star Game,
played all of eleven minutes in the finale and scored
twelve points. He had eight points in the semi Let's

(01:48:53):
move on women's.

Speaker 2 (01:48:54):
Best court shot. They'll forget about that they.

Speaker 7 (01:48:57):
Did a half court shot and I think that one
him the MVP hot honestly was MTV. Yeah, the Rockin'
jock Sure. Number seven Ranke Connecticut won at number four
South Carolina, which had won seventy one straight home games,
but eighty seven fifty eight was the final. It was
the largest road win for any Division IE women's program.
What were our top five team since two thousand and nine.

(01:49:19):
South Carolina on three pointers three of seventeen.

Speaker 6 (01:49:22):

Speaker 7 (01:49:23):
This South Carolina crew had another streak snapped. We mentioned
it by Texas last Sunday night. Fifty seven straight conference
wins in the regular season. That's by the boards. Texas
beat LSU. Today, North Carolina with a couple of late
free throws, edged NC State in a top twenty matchup.
Number six usc was down twelve late third, still trailed
with about three minutes to go and won at Washington

(01:49:46):
nonetheless sixty nine sixty four, and UCLA was went out
star center Lauren Bett's foot entry and still came back
in the final minute to beat number twenty two Michigan
State seventy five sixty nine. Wow, Daytona five hundred to
William Byron for the second straight year. Reddick finished second.
Veteran Jimmy Johnson was third in a race that ended
after nine to thirty Eastern. It started about two o'clock Eastern,

(01:50:07):
but there was an early rain delay over three hours.
Worth Byron went from ninth place to first on the
final lap, thanks in part to a crash. The Saints
interviewed Brandon Staley for defensive coordinator and talked to Eagles
assistant Doug Nosmeyer for offensive coordinator. Ludvig Oberg won the
PGA event in San Diego, and yes we do have
the hockey continuing in Boston Monday night. The Four Nations

(01:50:30):
face off finishes up the round robin format with Sweden
at US. The USA two and zero is already going
to be in the Thursday night Championship. Maybe a rematch
with Canada. We'll see back to you.

Speaker 2 (01:50:40):
Fox for that. Yeah, they should get me a ticket. Hey, Steve,
have a great week, buddy, and tell you thanks for
last week. Steve saved my Bacon LA traffic. What are
we doing? All right? Let's hit some of your text
at Stikingenius one. I'm at playing show. Shout out to
my man Mustang Mania. I got lucky Mustang Mania. I

(01:51:01):
I sped the whole way and to get pulled over
three hours Arnie from Waco to Oklahoma City in time
for this show. That's how much I love you. What
time did you pull in? I didn't know you were
driving that far? What time did I pull in? Let's
not talk about it, but it was. Uh, it was
in time for the opening of the show.

Speaker 6 (01:51:18):
She had me.

Speaker 2 (01:51:19):
We were all good, Uh, Colin. With the NFL season
now over, does this mean that Plank cannot I can
finally not get annoyed at Arnie and can the Saga
please get a night off without having to ask Arnie first?

Speaker 3 (01:51:34):
No, the Sega still has to ask me if he
wants to night off. So and no, Mike always gets
annoyed at me. I just you never listen. That's why
he doesn't. That's why he's doing a single show, Pete.

Speaker 2 (01:51:47):
A solo show. Now, we got the crew with us
all right on Friday night? Uh, de Saga keeps us
updating the top of the hour and Brianna is awesome mark' saw.
So we got a crew there, we got we call,
we take call. Now we got to work for the
guy here? Wow? Well, it's like the where like the
Malord Militia weekend is open. This would not be something

(01:52:11):
that you would want to do. I don't think I
was opening the door to the militia saying come on in.
This is if I see the Militiaye Baulted shut UCLA
Dodger Frank regarding the NBA All Star Game. When the
highlight of your All Star Game is the variety of
musical acts performing which were great, you've got a problem.

(01:52:32):
You like the the All Star Game. That's what he's saying.
That's what he's saying. He's like, they're great. But when
that's your big event, I mean, and you're an NBA game,
or at the very least an NBA exhibition game, probably
not good.

Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
Next year, next year when we do the Super Bowl,
I think we should have like one person from the seventies, eighties, nineties,
two thousand.

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
And let them all each do a couple of songs.
What do you think, I'm down, I'm down way whatever
mean that way? That way is something for everybody you
know that. I think that'd be a good idea. Uh,
Gina Rights, come on span your unless the hockey game
is in your backyard, you know you're not going it is.

Speaker 3 (01:53:09):
In my backyard. It's three hours away. It's it's not
a far drive.

Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
Jason B. Diamond hits us up with this. Can't agree
more with you, guys. The Four Nations tournament works for
the NHL and probably wouldn't work for other sports. I
know all this, you're gonna see somebody and if it's
one of our guys, it's okay. Just know that I'm
judging you. But someone's gonna say, here's what it would
look like if we did this in the NBA, like

(01:53:37):
what the NHL did, and you'll see a bunch of
teams where there's one star and you're like, oh, that's it.
They don't take it serious enough. Like I said, I
don't know if what it is. They don't even want
to play in the Olympics. Sometimes they prefer not even
to do that, like the SGAs and the Brooks, the
Canada team. Yeah, obviously it means a lot to women.

(01:53:59):
Yamen and gosh yao meing back in the day. But
I'm just saying it's not something that A there is
the depth of talent, and B you're right, Arnie, they
don't give a rip from Team USA It's like, why
do we care about this? Though? I will say it
seemed a little bit more competitive with these teams, don't
you think. Yes, they did play a little bit harder,

(01:54:21):
but they're not playing like the NHL where they're throwing
down and having three fights in the first nine seconds
of the game. Nothing like that's going to happen. Two
more real quick and then we got a break and
we'll get Arnie's picks in here late night drug tester.
Whenever the NHL has something good going, Gary Bettman will
find a way to screw it up. And finally, Brendan,
if Aaron Rodgers gets picked up by the Raiders, I

(01:54:43):
will sell my fandom in that team and give the
proceeds to charity. That would set the team back. An
eternity is that Are they the favorite right now to
get Aaron Rodgers? I don't think so. I just saw
that they had odds on Miles Garrett's next team. I'll
I'll dig during the break and see what the odds
are for Aaron Rodgers, because I think I think the

(01:55:05):
top odds pick I thought it was Tennessee, Oh Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh is number one at plus two twenty five, and
the Raiders are number two at plus two fifty. Found
it faster than I thought I would. You do you
know where the third choice is right now for Aaron Rodgers. Yeah,
so you got Steelers at one, Raiders at two forty
nine Ers at three. Wow. That well.

Speaker 3 (01:55:28):
Obviously he's got a tie to the Bay Area. But
that all depends on what they're gonna do with Brock
Perdy Ulets. They want to bring him in as a backup.

Speaker 2 (01:55:35):
Vikings for Tennessee five. If it's the Vikings, then we
just know he's completely and totally doing anything that Brett
Favre did. All right, Arnie's picks are gonna take us
home next. Get you ready for a big Ben Mallord
on Fox Sports Radio, Mary, you picked a little Jackson
five heremo Town. Oh okay, bad?

Speaker 6 (01:55:55):
I like this song.

Speaker 2 (01:55:57):
Blame it on the Billy. Thanks Ian Roddy for helping
us out. Missed out on Todd Furman tonight as he
took his road trip, but he'll be back. Shouts out
to Mary mack is always in Steve de Saga on updates,
plus the millions and millions of editors behind the scenes
helping to put together all the audio that we did
not play on the show tonight. So Artie, what do

(01:56:18):
you say you lead us off in this final segment
and take a song with your picks? What do you
don't have a lot of picks, my friend? Don't slim pickings? Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:56:29):
This week, no pun attended? My Arizona Wildcats have lost
two games in a row. Should it be Houston embarrassed
to lose the Kansas State? These are teams we're better at.
I know we're on in Houston. No way they should
have won the game. We're by five at halftime. Chris right,
let that one slip away. Still kind of bothering about that.

(01:56:49):
We played Baylor on Tuesday? Would you believe Baylor's a
pointing that favorite over us and we're.

Speaker 2 (01:56:55):
The way better team. Are you in Waco or is
it at home? It's in Waco? Okay. I went by
their arena for you and I try to get some
good mojo for you. So it's a boster pavilion, is brain?
I try to help you out. We'll see if it works.
I'm sure you're picking Arizona to win.

Speaker 3 (01:57:10):
Oh, of course, we're gonna give them the beatdown that
they deserve. Probably win that game by ten points. So
take Arizona plus the one and a half failure, not
even in the same.

Speaker 2 (01:57:20):
Class as US.

Speaker 3 (01:57:21):
Disgusting that they even made us an underdog. I'm shamed.
Gonna sit in the corner USA over Sweden on Monday
in hockey. I should go to the game, Chris. I
just a little too much money there, right, and a
little double hockey. USA will be whoever they play on Thursday,
which probably looks like Canada, I'm guessing, so they'll be

(01:57:44):
a rematch USA Canada on Thursday. I would love to
see that down in Boston. How should go to that game?
I'm telling you, I'm telling you you should, but you won't.

Speaker 2 (01:57:53):
I'll help you with every seven hundred dollars a take it,
get a press pass. No, then I can't have fun.
Then I gotta worry about my behavior, and I can't cheer,
and I can't yeah, and then I can't get into
a fight or anything like that. So I'd like to
see you trying to get in a fight at a
hockey can that you just paid how much again, did

(01:58:15):
you say to get in seven hundred? Oh my goodness, Yeah,
it's good.

Speaker 3 (01:58:20):
If it's not Canada's going to be a little bit cheaper,
So then you have my pick stewardim as you please,
no longer strictly for entertainment purposes only. And by the way,
is Dramond Green really going to be the head coach
of the Warriors? Is that?

Speaker 2 (01:58:33):
I heard that audio and I and I still don't
know what was going on because that woman would not
stop talking over him. So I I and again, what
who was it? That was? Actually?

Speaker 5 (01:58:45):
All?

Speaker 2 (01:58:46):
This? Was it? Candas Parker. I love Candas Parker, but
he was like, let him talk, let him finish what
he's saying, because he's saying something that I don't know
if it's true, but I want to know about it. Basically,
Draymond Green said he's been promised the Warriors coaching job
after he retires as a player, So he's gonna be

(01:59:08):
the Bobby Danny and Bobby Hurley of the NBA. I guess, so,
I guess. So you got to sound there? Can you
play it before we get out of here? I can't
find it. Listen to this, Arnie tell me if he
can make sense of what's going on here.

Speaker 7 (01:59:22):
There's no way that I could coach ever in the
history of It'd be like Draymond coaching.

Speaker 1 (01:59:26):
Like, there's.

Speaker 2 (01:59:29):
Me. I didn't I didn't think you would suck. I
just don't you would enjoy it. Like, I have no
idea what was happening there. Candice was basically saying, I
don't think I can coach. I'd be worse than Draymond.
And then Draymond's counter was, I've been offered offered me

(01:59:50):
the job, right, So you buying that? I kind of do.
I I'm feeling they disgusted it.

Speaker 3 (01:59:56):
I don't know if they offered it to him, but
I got a feeling they discussed it about it.

Speaker 2 (02:00:01):
Yeah, I uh, I mean, why would you think Draymond
would be a better option than say, talking to his
staff or I mean when I think of head coach,
I don't think of a dude that just punched another
guy in the face two years ago and practice. I mean,
call me crazy, but that's like like they offered me
to be the head coach. Why it was like the strongest,

(02:00:23):
were you going to beat somebody? I mean that really
would be a problem in my book. Right, Well, already, Hey,
have a great week, But my friend you too, I
know that you'll have that big road trip coming up
to Boston for the Four Nations face off for already,
I'm plank, y'all, will see you next Sunday night. Big
