rack dot com the way tire buying should be. So,
there was a report that came out according to Tom
Pellisero of the NFL Network, he was on the Rich
Eisenshow and he said that the LA Rams have given
Matthew Stafford matt Matthew whatever I mean. There used to
(01:53):
be a story out there that you know, certain people
would get pissed off if you called him matt is
what it is, all right, feel like they're bigger tragedies
in the world than somebody calling you by your abbreviated
name or whatnot. But the point is that the RAMS
have given Stafford permission to at least see what else
is out there, permission to seek a trade, you know,
(02:13):
go test the waters. Now it sounds like a whoa,
this is a huge, huge deal. Not really, They're just
trying to let them see what the market would be
like so that when they come back they start having negotiations.
Reportedly they'll be talking more at the combine coming up
soon to try and hammer something out. But the point is,
(02:35):
you hear from everybody on both sides, oh yeah, yeah,
listen we want to stay put. We want to stay put,
you know, we just want to make sure that the
numbers are right. And I wonder if part of this
is the la Rams are looking at Matthew Stafford and
they're looking at his demands, and they're looking at what
(02:55):
he wants, and they're looking at how last year went,
and they're sitting here thinking themselves, Wait a second, dude,
we saved you, not the other way around, because let's
not forget that. When the deal was made and the
(03:17):
Rams acquired Matthew Stafford, the Rams were bringing in Matthew
Stafford because they felt like he could help get them
over the hump. But they were still a playoff team,
they were still good. They still had gone to the
super Bowl before, so he was, in their minds an upgrade.
(03:39):
Matthew Stafford in Detroit wasn't sniffing super bowls. He wasn't
even sniffing playoff wins. So let's not really get it
twisted like, oh, you know, Matthew Stafford saved the day. No,
they kind of saved him. They were a much worse
situation in Detroit, which sounds crazy, see now considering what
(04:01):
Detroit looks like in the past couple of years as
in comparison to where they were when he was there.
But when you see the discussions and the Rams being like,
all right, man, go see what else is out there,
I wonder if part of it is maybe there's a
little internal frustration with the Rams to where they're like, hey, man,
you got it pretty good here, Like we've drafted really well,
(04:25):
We've got talent here, like, you've got it pretty good.
And if you don't think the Rams aren't afraid to
walk away from a quarterback who they reportedly like, look
what they did to Jared Goff. I mean, Jared Goff
bailed them out in the playoffs before they traded him.
(04:46):
You remember that old story they were going to start
John Wofford, he was going to be the guy that
was going to be the starter in Seattle, and all
of a sudden he got hurt early in the game
and Jared Goff came in and they ended up winning
a playoff game on the road competitive next week, and
the Rams said, hey, we appreciate it, thank you so much.
(05:07):
We're going to go in a different direction. And now
you see what GoF has done since he's gotten to Detroit.
So it's one of those deals where it benefited everybody.
But let's not get it twisted. It benefited Matthew Stafford
more than it benefited anybody else in the deal. And
I wonder if the Rams are looking at this going,
(05:29):
don't you remember how you had it? Like? I got
news for you. You want to know why. Part of
the reason is I love my wife all right. Part
of the reason is because I dated full fledged five
alarm losers before her, losers. Like and if they're listening, hey,
(05:54):
is what it is? I kind of like to tell
you is what it is? Get a job. Okay, I
don't know what to tell you, but I know what
I have because of where I was, Like, I know
my current situation is ideal because my previous situation sucked.
(06:21):
I mean, that's like the easiest thing in the world.
I tell people this all the time because listen, I've
been accused of maybe being a little bit indecisive at times,
you know, on certain things. I'm not sure. I don't
know what I sometimes can't tell you what I want,
but I can tell you every single time what I
don't want. You could give me a menu in front
(06:46):
of me of different options. I could be looking and
scanning the menu. I'm not sure what I feel like,
but I know what I think is wretched on the menu.
I could tell you that right off the bat, easy
and we all go through this like you have a
greater appreciation for the car you drive, or the air
(07:10):
conditioner inside of it, or that when you come from
a ride that didn't have any of it and wouldn't
start half the time. I get my balls broken all
the time. I got a truck that's nineteen years old,
true story to two thousand and six. It's got three
hundred and seventy four thousand miles on it, all right,
(07:32):
and I get my balls broken all the time. Why
don't you just get a new car because this one
hasn't given up on me yet? Why would I? And
the reason I have that perspective is because the one
that I drove before it was a nineteen eighty GMC
Sierra who I would have to stop every four to
(07:54):
five miles on the highway to put in new power
steering fluid. Otherwise I wasn't going to be able to
park when I got to where I needed to go.
That's a true story. The AC didn't work, the windows
you rolled down and when you turned on the heater,
you were sucking in and breathing in the exhaust from
(08:14):
the engine. I almost fainted on the road multiple times.
So this ether car that I got I really really
appreciate because I was driving a Beater for so long.
If you're Matthew Stafford, do you not remember how things
were before? He's made three hundred and sixty plus million
(08:39):
dollars in his career. I'm not trying to pocket watch anybody.
I'm not standing there going hey man, really are you?
But let's be clear here, it's not like there's been
a shortage of income there. He was one of the
final fifty million dollars guaranteed if you were the number
one pick in the draft. Remember those That's what led
(09:01):
to some of the changes because him, Sam Bradford, some others,
you get drafted number one. Overall, you were making way
more money than any veteran in the league. He was
part of that. In total, at the end of his
NFL career, he will have made well over four hundred
million dollars. You mean to tell me he couldn't look
(09:24):
at the rams and be like, hey man, let's just
figure this out. Like listen, I want to be here.
I know what it was like where I was at,
Like come on, like, let's yeah, we'll just get it done.
It's gonna help you, it's gonna help me. It's and
that's why I wonder, so what else is it? Because
if this is just about chasing dollars, if it's just
about chasing money, I get the rams looking at him, going, hey,
(09:45):
could you help us out here? Because we kind of
helped you, but we we kind of got you out
of a really bad situation. It's not like we needed
you to rebuild the entire roster around. We felt like
we had a team. We just needed somebody to get
us over the top. You did it. We appreciate it,
but can we work on this year? They went through
(10:07):
the same thing last year. Maybe things got a little
bit contentious. I look at it, and I go, man,
I caere where the rams are coming from? All right, fine, man,
go see what else is out there? All right? Go ahead,
go go, go ahead, go ahead. I mean, if you
have to be paid more money because you haven't made
enough of your three hundred and sixty four million in
(10:29):
your career, go right ahead, dude, go there, check it out.
You go see go shop, do what you want to do.
But if you're the Rams and you're looking at Matthew
Stafford and you see where he's at in this situation
and he wants got to have more money, go, If
I'm the Rams, I look at it and I go
f it, Like if he's demanding he's got to get
(10:51):
fifty sixty million dollars a year for a two year deal.
I mean, listen, we'll kick the tires on a Sam Darnold.
That'll be cheaper. We'll entertain an idea of Aaron Rodgers
in the short term. But why would we give all
of this to somebody who apparently doesn't realize what we
gave to him. Kind of a weird situation. Jonas Knox
(11:13):

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming up a little over
ten minutes from now here from the tire Raq dot
com studios. Friendly reminder that things have changed since the
Super Bowl. I will explain why that is, but kind
of a personal tale to share on the air and
(12:24):
to poke fun at. But yes, super Bowl related and
a story that was heard on Fox Sports Radio during
Super Bowl Week. We do have the conclusion of that.
That'll be yours here again, a little over ten minutes
from now By the way, Ian Rappaport did send this
out a short time ago, echoing the reporting from Tom
Pellasero that the Rams have given permission to Matthew Stafford's
(12:46):
agent to speak with other teams about his value. This
is not a trade request. Instead, the Rams in Stafford
can gain you a better understanding of his value outside
the team, potentially making it easier to get a contract done.
That remains the hope that outside help can assist engaging
the market and seeing his value, and that this results
in his return to LA. Yeah. So basically, dude, come on, like,
(13:12):
why would you want to leave? Why? Why would you
want to go elsewhere? It's not as if it's this
illustrious career of nothing but championships and success, Like your
best team success has come as a member of the
LA Rams. You're arguably a Hall of Fame quarterback because
(13:35):
of your time with the Rams. Good quarterback, good career
with the Lions. But the situation in LA was way
better for Matthew Stafford. And so the idea that he's
got to have more money and this amount. So why
would there even need to be this discussion? Like why
would it get this far? If I was I'd be like, man, listen,
(13:57):
I've made enough money in my career. Let's just let's
just get a deal done. What's going to help us
acquire more talent? We're already moving on from from Cooper
Cup makes sense. He hasn't been healthy the past several years.
Totally get he got Pooka Nikua, totally get it. We've drafted, well,
let's get something done. Let me cut you guys a deal,
(14:18):
and let's go try and chase another Super Bowl. The
NFC is wide open. Like listen, Philly, great run, But
all of a sudden, you look at that division and
you go and you look at the conference inside the
NFC West. Who the hell knows with the Niners? Who
knows Arizona? Who knows Seattle? Are you optimistic like like
(14:44):
they feel like it's hit or miss? The Rams have
a real chance. They've got the best quarterback in the division.
And if you have that, you've got an opportunity to
make a run. And as we've talked about on this show,
who gave Philly their toughest test in the playoffs? The
Rams with the ultimate home field advantage for the Eagles,
(15:06):
with the conditions and all of that, and Matt Stafford
had an opportunity late in that game to go down
and send the La Rams to an NFC title game, which,
by the way, they would have been hosting the next week.
So I look at it and I go, I have
no clue why he would want to try his luck
elsewhere based on his past and also based on his
(15:29):
current situation. Just for money doesn't make sense to me.
Jonas Knox, he or Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas
Knox and X at the Jonas Knox and X. All right,
so listen, I don't know what your your situation is. Like.
Maybe you've got a you've had a rough week, right,
you know. Maybe you've got you know, young children and
they're not cooperating, you know, kind of being a pain
(15:49):
in the ass, not getting to bed on time. Maybe
maybe not like at not speaking from personal experience or
for anybody on the show, but you know, like maybe
they just decided, you know what, I don't like the
weather conditions, I'm going to pick and choose where I
sleep tonight. Sometimes it'll be in my room. Sometimes it'll
be with you and mom, and you're just gonna have
(16:12):
to deal with it. Again, not referencing anything on this
show or anybody involved in this show. Right, Sometimes they
go to bed a little early and then they wake
up a little early, and it's just you know, it
takes a little while to get to bed, you know,
kind of hampers your sleep pattern on the weekends. Again,
not referencing anybody on this show or anybody involved in
(16:35):
this show. But the point is there's some people out
there that probably had a rough week. It could be
job stuff, family stuff, car troubles like whatever, personal life breakups, whatever.
I have got good news for you, because if you
(16:58):
add yourself a bad week, you got nothing on the NBA.
Who WHOA you talk about a complete and total failure.
I mean, and I know what you're thinking. Oh, listen,
we've heard all about Okay, look, let's just go ahead
(17:18):
and break this down chronologically if we could. All right,
let's just break it down chronologically, because my point on
the NBA's current situation is not so much what we
saw last weekend for All Star weekend, which and I
don't know if you're based on the numbers, not a
(17:39):
lot of people saw it. But if we're just you know,
being honest here, it's not as if that was the
real issue with the NBA. I mean, listen, you know,
Draymond Green airing out the product probably didn't help Trey
Young making comments, you know, Barkley and them making comments.
You know, the presentation itself, the dunk contest, all of it, Like, listen,
(18:03):
not great. The format, you know, the feedback afterwards, Like
part of the problem was that you had two other
things in the periphery. Like if you just ran a
horse around a track by itself, he wins every single time.
(18:27):
The problem is you find out how fast the horse
really is when on the outside there are two real
thoroughbreds that are just totally outperforming you. That when you
look on the outside, you realize, oh, there's something there
and something there. So when you start doing the comparison game,
(18:49):
not great, that's when it becomes not great. The problem
for the NBA last weekend was the fact that that
was the first weekend after the NFL season was over, Like,
you know, kind of a bad look. Hey guys, football's gone,
(19:10):
we've moved past. Here's what we got for you. Yeah,
what's that? A goofy slam dunk contest, a three point
shootout nobody watched, and an All star game that nobody
could figure out who won. But these are our best
of the best. Yeah, it sucked. Not a great representation.
(19:31):
I've said it. Once you get out of your head
and once you start to counter program and realize we
can't beat them, so let's at least pick our spots.
Let's pick and choose our spots. Then you got a
better chance. Then you got a better chance. It also
doesn't help that while all that's going on, you've got
(19:56):
the Four Nations face off, which was a resound success.
The numbers are in most watched I think NHL game
on ESPN or whatever it was and thirty. Everybody loved it.
It went to overtime. It was great. It was great.
So you had your first weekend of no NFL not
(20:21):
competing with football. What do you do. You roll out
that bucket of puke and now people are looking around going,
oh god, this is this what this is turned into? Really? Meanwhile,
the NHL has been Hey, here's what we got. Guys
are going to throw down three seconds into a game
and it doesn't really mean anything. And let's be honest.
(20:43):
The trophy they got that Canada got, I mean it
kind of sucked. I swear it looked like something you
would get at the at the Super Mario Brothers World
at Universal if like you banged your watch against the
question mark and some stuff get like I swear to
god it did. There nothing about that was attractive. But
those guys looked at it as an opportunity. They had
a stage and it's going to propel them. Are they
(21:05):
going to outnumber the NBA for the rest of the year.
I wouldn't think so. But either way you slice it,
bad look for the NBA, only to double down on
that with the fiasco that was the Lakers losing to
the Hornets the first game out. Oh and by the way,
one of our great young superstars that we could probably
(21:28):
build our league round, Victor wembin Yama, he's out for
blood clots for the remainder of the year. It was
a rough go for the NBA, a really rough go.
Whether or not this means there's going to be implemented
changes and they're going to do it like who the
hell knows. All I'm saying is this, You had an
(21:48):
opportunity with a ton of eyeballs and a ton of
people looking around for something to sink their teeth into
now that the NFL season was over, and this is
off the bat what you've presented to him. Really bad
week for the NBA. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio
at the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on X
(22:09):
and you can hang out with us as always on
the iHeartRadio. App right, it's coming up next here. We
do have the conclusion for a story from Super Bowl
Week that we will get into here on FSR. But
first for all the latest from around the world of sports.
It's been way too long, way too long since we've
(22:34):
heard from the one and the only Monsy.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
But let me take you overbo at you?
Speaker 3 (22:47):
Yeah, what months?
Speaker 6 (22:50):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (22:53):
I'm great now?
Speaker 6 (22:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Don't you feel tropical when you just?
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (22:57):
When do you start laying this in?
Speaker 6 (22:59):
Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (23:00):
By the way, I don't even know if this makes
it onto the podcast. I don't think we have the rights.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
I don't think so either.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Yeah, but if it's just the singing and no song underneath,
you're welcome.
Speaker 6 (23:10):
Guys who said opposite things.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
You're welcome, you say, but we're sorry, You're welcome, You're welcome.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
What's happening at mons? Why did they get you slumming
it with us on a Saturday?
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (23:20):
You know, I didn't want you to be alone, so
I was like, no, no, no, I'm going to come
in and be.
Speaker 6 (23:26):
With Jonas for a couple hours. No problem.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Yeah, because Isaac long Crown's a big time er.
Speaker 6 (23:31):
Now, he is a big timer. He is a big timer.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
So you know, I'm here to keep you company for
a couple hours before I do my show.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
No, I come just so we can sing together.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
Literally, there's nobody else I sing with, So you know,
is there special moments we have?
Speaker 3 (23:44):
And by the way, I did get to see you
a couple of times this week because I was working
somewhat in the right hours.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
Yeah, so it's nice to see you.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
I know, Yeah, it's amazing.
Speaker 5 (23:53):
Really, I know, who would have thought I was going
to miss those five am calls?
Speaker 6 (23:57):
But it was only when I see you a lev.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
R I know, I know, And there you are like
making Starbucks runs with Brie and not asking us it
wanted anything?
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Like it did?
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Nothing changed, right, nothing's changed.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
Did we go to Starbucks or did we go to
po Yo Loco and get a soda?
Speaker 6 (24:11):
You wanted a soda.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
I saw you come back with Starbucks and I was like,
now we're good. Here we do guys, thank you.
Speaker 6 (24:17):
We're so rude, we're so we're so self involved. I'm sorry,
won't do that again. Let's let's chick in on college
hoops and not talk about how rude we are the vols.
Did I say that, right? Bo because he says, no,
not bulls. I'm like, am I saying it right?
Speaker 5 (24:32):
Because I was like the volunteers, bulls balls, bolls, the
volunteers number six Tennissee, they beat number seven Texas A
and I'm seventy seven to sixty nine. Chas Lanier had
thirty points, including eight threes in the win, and Bo
is laughing at me.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
So I still don't think I said it right?
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Oh I can, Well, what did she do wrong? Go?
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Well, no, it's not it's it's valls.
Speaker 5 (24:56):
Falls, not bulls balls, bulls like a ball ball. Yeah,
so she's saying a not in Oh that's what you're
telling main. We got it, No, we got it.
Speaker 6 (25:06):
So there we go. We're good. We're good.
Speaker 5 (25:08):
Oregon had a seventy seven to seventy three comeback win
over a number eleven Wisconsin. They actually forced overtime with
a sixteen to two run at the end. Number twenty
five Louisville top Florida State eighty nine to eighty one
with eight minutes to go. Number nine Texas Tech is
on top of West Virginia fifty to thirty seven with
about twelve.
Speaker 6 (25:26):
Minutes to go.
Speaker 5 (25:26):
Number twenty one Mississippi State is losing to Oklahoma sixty
two to fifty seven.
Speaker 6 (25:31):
Halfway through the first half.
Speaker 5 (25:32):
Number five Houston is topping number eight Iowa States seventeen thirteen.
Speaker 6 (25:37):
We'll check in on.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
The ice of Red Wings are on top of the
wild two to one after two periods. The Flyers scored
four goals in the second period and they're beating the
Oilers five to three with about ninety seconds to go
in the second period.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
Still to come on the ice.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
You know, Alex Zovetchkin is sixteen goals away from breaking
Wayne Gretzky's all time goals record, and the Capitals are
playing the Penguins at three easterns, So we are on
Alex Ovechil can watch for the second half of the season.
And baseball, I don't know if you saw this, but
John Boy Media has a video.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
You can see it on Twitter if anyone's listening and
you want to see it yourself.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
But basically the video is talking that Chris Bassett of
the Blue Jays, so in today's spring training game or
we got spring Gas spring training game, he is their
ball boy so for the Blue Jays because he finished
four and ten in their fantasy Football League.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
So he is the ball boy Chris Bassett.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Look at that, and they've.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Got his record. They've got his fantasy football record on
the back of his jersey. Yeah. And because it's the
Blue Jays number design where they've got the line in
between splitting it, it looks even worse.
Speaker 6 (26:42):
God, it's also his thirty sixth birthday today.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Oh that's so good.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
No, but it's so good. It's so good.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
By the way, I mean, are you in a fantasy league, Monci?
Speaker 6 (26:54):
I am in a few, and I'm never doing it again.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Okay, you're not doing fantasy football, you're not doing several
one time.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
I'm just I'm gonna do it all again. But right
now I'm just saying I'm never doing.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Okay, Yeah, because then you get kind of fatigued by
it at the end of the year, and you know,
July and August rolls around, you're like, all right, right,
you got me, you got me. I missed it. So
we don't have anything ridiculous other than you've got to
dress like a clown at the draft.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
Yeah, that's not ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Yeah, that's fine.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
It's normal.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
There's been some that are just I know, like, what
was the like this, I think was the worst one
where the guy he finished dead last in his fantasy
league and so his punishment was he had to fly
to twenty four.
Speaker 6 (27:37):
Twenty four hours.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Oh my no, so you're going from airport to airport
and you're just sitting on planes for twenty four hours straight.
I would have drank the entire time.
Speaker 6 (27:47):
Absolutely. Oh I would have missed my flights. I would
have eventually eventually missed my flights. Absolutely. Are They're the
ones that are like, oh, you have to eat at
a fast.
Speaker 5 (27:56):
Food chain for X amount of time and every time
you eat, or are you taking an hour off?
Speaker 6 (28:01):
There's also those Oh goodness, no.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
That is brutal. But wait, let's go live to our
I have a thought on punishments. Insider Christopheffer the.
Speaker 7 (28:09):
Laders, Well, this is funny because I'm actually I finished
in third place in our league this year, and I
am the one dealing out the punishment in our league.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
And I just have to surprise. If you finish third,
you get it.
Speaker 7 (28:20):
Yes, yes, I get to decide the punishment for last place. Unfortunately,
the guy who won it is like twenty two years old,
and he's being an incredible baby about it. And like
skirting every rule and it's just it's sucking. All this
might kill my love of fantasy more than anything. It's
like I thought, I come up with a really creative punishment,
and he's complaining the entire way.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
I mean, you're you're not sending the guy out to
feed you, you know, an unlockage, Like what are we talking?
Speaker 7 (28:48):
I don't want to even say the punishment on air
because there is some foul elements to it, and I'm like, dude,
he could have had it done in like two days,
and he's just just it's been weeks and it's still ongoing.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
You gotta be careful, Chris, because then it's going to
come back and buy you in the But if you
end up being the last place.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
I don't think I'd be a baby about it though.
And here's the other recommendation I would make for you
if you get it. Like the Fantasy League, I'm man
is guys that I've been friends with for twenty five years,
so like there might we talk anyways all the time,
and so there's a discussion every single day on that
fantasy chain about something random. So they're like, all we're
all close friends, been for decades, So whatever the punishment is,
(29:28):
it's going to be a cake walk in comparison to
some of the terrible things we've done to each other
for the past couple of decades. Like we've been awful
to each other. So dressing up like a clown, like,
you know, telling somebody you've got to walk around in
a straight jacket, you know, in the mall like like,
whatever punishment we come up with is going to pale
in comparison to the things we've said. So that would
(29:50):
be my only only thought here is get get in
the league with people you trust, not some strangers, because
then things get a little odd, a little little weird.
Now I got to ask you, Moncey, I got to
ask you your thoughts on this quickly before we have
to take a break here. This is a somewhat super
Bowl related. So when we went to the Super Bowl
(30:11):
New Orleans, I forgot the battery to charge my laptop.
I don't know why. It was like the one thing
I forgot. So I was like, oh jeez, so now
I need to get a battery charger. My laptop's kind
of hold. What a shock. And so I'm looking around everywhere.
There was a best Buy that was like ten to
twelve minutes away from where the hotel was, New Orleans.
(30:32):
So the Monday of Super Bowl week, I had to
go get an uber go to the best Buy. I
go to the best BUYE. I talked to the lady there.
I said, hey, you know, I'm looking for this. Are
you sure this cord is the one that's going to
charge my laptop? I should her picture everything? Shaid, yeah, yeah,
that's fine, you're good. Of course, getting an uber come
back doesn't fit. Knew it wasn't going to knew it
(30:53):
wasn't going to work. So then I had to door
dash and I pass not an iPad, a whatever computer,
my Mac computer. I had to get door dashed a
battery so that I could charge it and charge my computer.
So I'm waiting for this woman to bring me my
(31:14):
charger and you can track them on door dash, like
you can track where they're at. And she sat in
a KFC parking lot next to the best Buy for
at least forty five minutes, at least forty five minutes,
and I'm looking at this going, I know what you're doing.
Like the best By is right there. You walk right
(31:34):
over there, you get it. You walk back. So it
took two and a half hours when it should have
taken you know, thirty five minutes whatever. Like long story short.
So I take the charger back to best Buy to
return it, and they tell me we can only give
you store credit because you know, it's past a certain window,
so we can't give your money back, but only store credit.
(31:54):
I was like, okay, that's fine. So I'm with my
son and I'm looking around and and I recently was
gifted a Blu ray player, and a good buddy of
mine got me some movies that I like in a
Blue Ray player, just because he wanted to be a friend.
Like he's just he's liked that. He's a really good dude.
I was like, okay, this is cool, and so we
checked it out. I walk up to a guy in
(32:15):
best Buy because I didn't know what to get with
this new store credit I had. I walked up to
this guy best Buy and I'm like, hey, man, where's
your Blu ray movie section. The guy looked at me
like I had just hopped down off a horse in
the seventeen hundreds. He was like, Blu ray players, like
Blu ray movies, like CDs. I was like, yeah, he goes, yeah, man,
(32:38):
we haven't had those for a while. I'm like, oh really,
and he was trying not to laugh because I'm in
front of my son and I'm looking at this guy
going oh, yeah, no big deal, man, I got it.
And my son says out loud, but Dad, where are
the movies at I'm like And it was at that
point that I realized there was like a generation of
(33:00):
best Buy I totally missed, like completely missed.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
Yeah, you missed the They used to have like like
cards of him, like everyone, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
They had. They had a red box out in front
of a seven to eleven. You could walk out with
a forty of oe and get a movie right there.
And so my buddy knew this was going to happen
because he originally got me a couple of my favorite
movies in Blu Ray. He's like, hey, I saw these things.
They were cheap, you know. I got like two of
my favorite movies, Used Cars, one of the great movies
of all time JFK. One of my favorite movies of
(33:29):
all time. And he gets me the other like, oh,
these are awesome, But I had nothing to play him,
and I was like, so what do I play him?
And he goes, oh, I get a Blu ray Player.
He showed up the next week with a Blu ray
Player because he knew I was never going to buy him, Like,
I was never going to buy a Blu ray Player
because I don't watch that much TV. I don't watch
that that many movies, and so I just thought, well,
I've got this store credit. Of course best Buy I
would have it. The guy looked at me like I
(33:52):
didn't exist, like I had popped out of a drone
that had been flying here since like thirteen forty eight.
And he said, dude, like, we don't have those anymore.
And I said to him, like, is this like an
Amazon thing I would need to do? He goes, I think,
so I've got the best Buy credit that I have
no idea what to spend on, Like I've got to
wait for our coffee maker to break to get my
(34:13):
value out of that.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
So, Jonas, it is going to take me a long
time to get over knowing that JFK is one of
your favorite movies.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Oh you don't like that movie?
Speaker 2 (34:23):
No I do. I just I am shocked for as
long as I've known you, to know that JFK is
one of your favorite movies. Oh god, is a surprised me.
I can't believe that.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Listen, man, like all those if you go to Glenwood
Elementary in Thousand Oaks, if they still have the books.
You know, when you rented books when you were a kid,
you had to initial them and they give you a
date or whatever when you get books in the library.
If you go there or go to the Thousand Oaks Library,
I promise you, if they keep that stuff documented, you
can look up Lockness, Monster, UFO's Bigfoot JFK. I rented
(34:58):
all of those. I was a kid.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
All happy. I am so happy. I'm so happy to
know this.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
This is soci Oh my god, it's a best this
soule tracks. Actually, I mean it's the best. And let
me tell you something, when that stuff gets released, there's
gonna be a lot of apologies do at Oliver Stone, Okay,
a lot of apologies to the left. Yeah. One of
the things Jay Moore and I used to say to
(35:25):
each other all the time when Jay worked at Fox
Sports Radio is whatever I would see Jay, we would
see each other, we go, you know what a bad
looking man, mister Garrison, because that was Kevin Bacon's and
look up the cast to JFK, one of the great
casts of all time, Donald Sutherland's speech kind of tying
everything together when when when he's talking to Kevin Costner
about Hey, this is why this Oh my god, it's
(35:46):
the best, it's the best. But apparently, you know, if
you're looking for a Blu Ray, don't go to a
Best Buy. Those those stopped existing in like the nineteen eighties, apparently,
So that's so pathetic. It's pathetic. I'm such a loser.
All right. It is Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio.
Coming up next here though, from the tire Raq dot
(36:07):
com studios, we are going to have another edition of
Do You Care right here on FSR Jonas Knox, Fox
Sports Radio coming up top of next hour about ten
minutes from now here from the tire raq dot com studios.
We are going to dive back into the NFL discussion
here based on the big story, the big domino that
(36:29):
could fall in the National Football League this offseason. That'll
be yours here again a little over ten minutes from
now here on FSR. Before we get to another edition
of Do You Care, though, be sure to check out
the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. There's a ton of
great videos from many of our Fox Sports Radio shows.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
most of them are a complete waste of.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Time DMG reports.
Speaker 4 (37:04):
Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big stories from
the last week. But Jonas, the real question is do
you care?
Speaker 3 (37:12):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Bo Benson to find out what the hell people have
been talking about.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
Bo Maverick's legend Dirknoviski, he spoke to I Believe ninety
seven won the ticket over in Dallas. He said that
he was just as shocked and sad as everybody else
was when he learned about the Luka Doncis trade. He
did mention that he would never be a Lakers fan,
but he will always root for Luca. So, Jonas, do
you care?
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Yeah, only because this is one of the most mind
boggling moves that we can recall ever, and we're getting
to live it in real time. And so if this
goes the way that it goes, We're going to be
able to or the way that a lot of people
expected to go. We're going to be able to tell
the tale of when we were around and doing sports
radio when one team made this rangeest decision in the
(38:01):
history of the sport. Next, the Four Nations face Off
peaked at ten point one million viewers as Canada defeated
the USA in overtime.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Jonas do you care?
Speaker 3 (38:10):
Yeah, it's great. I love it. Listen. That was entertaining
as all hell. I nearly bet money on Canada in
the final in the the championship game, but I didn't
because I would have felt guilty about it, so that
I ought to tell you that country and red, white
and Blue comes before green.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
Next, Michigan agreed to a new year, multi year deal
with men's basketball head coach Dusty May Indian speculation about
him maybe going to Indiana. Do you care?
Speaker 3 (38:38):
No, I don't care. I mean, listen, he's done a
great job. He took over for Juwan Howard. There was
some thought listen, because he was a student at Indiana
under Bob Knight, that it might be a place for
him to go. But listen, this is not even at
the same level. I can't wait for the tournament, but
it does feel like we've seen a separation between college
football and basketball, and college basketball has got to pick
up some momentum and hope we'll get a great tournament
(39:01):
out of it.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Next reports say that while there's no shortage of shooters
for forty nine Ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, they may
wait to see if a team cut if the team
cuts him before trying to strike a deal, Jonas, do
you care?
Speaker 3 (39:11):
No, This is the same story last year. He was
reportedly going to get del and then maybe he was
going to return, and maybe he wasn't. It feels like
San Francisco is the best spot for him, but there's
been talks that maybe the Broncos could be interested in him.
Maybe some of these other coaches who are really creative
would be looking for a spot to have for Deebo Samuel.
Either way, more off season chatter with the Niners, just
(39:34):
like every off season.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
Next all right, flags at half mass Jonas. News came
out on Friday that beloved American restaurant chain Hooters will
be finally for bankruptcy. Jonas, do you care about the news?
Speaker 3 (39:49):
I don't remember the last time I was at Hooters.
I mean, I do, I just can't say it. And
I'm really gonna miss bad wings, overpriced beers, and like
whatever else happened to be going on there. We've got
a fun little game of Domino's taking place in the NFL.
(40:12):
We'll get into that for you coming up here in

buying should be. So the story in the NFL right
now that people are watching because it does have some
(40:54):
consequences around the league. When it comes to the quarterback
situation is that Matthew Stafford and the Rams are in
a point where he wants to get paid even more,
and the LA Rams are looking around going all right,
I mean you can go see what else is out
(41:15):
there and what your true value is. So the update
on that was that Ian Rapaport had sent out a
tweet a short time ago because it was Tom pellisera
who were reported that the La Rams had given Matthew
Stafford permission to go seek a trade or look elsewhere
and kind of see where we were at and where
he's at when it comes to the market. And so
(41:36):
according to Ian Rapaport, the Rams have given permission for
Matthew Stafford's agent to speak with other teams about his value.
This is not a trade request. Instead, the Rams in
Stafford can gain a better understanding of his value outside
the team, potentially making it easier to get a contract done.
That remains the hope that outside help can assist engaging
the market and seeing his value and that this results
(41:59):
in his return to ELM. If you were Matthew Stafford,
because my thought is this, if this is all about,
I've got to be one of the one of the
highest paid quarterbacks in the league. Still, I've got to
be in the top five or ten when it comes
to annual earnings at the quarterback position. Guaranteed that whatever
(42:19):
it is. The part that doesn't add up to me is,
of all people, Matthew Stafford, who has made three hundred
and sixty plus million dollars in his career, of all people,
wouldn't he be the one to be like, No, man,
I understand how good I have it here. I understand
(42:41):
what this place did for my career. Why would I
want to go elsewhere? Why even let it get to
this point? Why even jeopardize it? Why? And I can
understand Walch, you know, your last bite at the Apple
and you got three hundred and sixty million dollars he's made.
They and this is not my business, not my business
(43:03):
at all, unless they've they've blown all that money, you know,
for you know, on production costs for his for you know,
Kelly Stafford's podcast. I have no idea, Like, I don't
know what it is, but I just to me, there
comes a point where, yeah, listen to money's money, but
(43:26):
we've got the money, Like, look, this is all about happiness,
and that's why I just wonder what else is it? Like,
what else could it pot If this is just about money,
I could understand less sneak because less sneed. Sounded like
he was kind of frustrated when the topic came up,
you know, Sean McVay sounded kind of frustrated when the
topic came up right after the season where they said, well,
(43:47):
you know, hopefully we'll get an answer sooner rather than later.
I mean, you know, like hopefully. I wonder if they
just look at it and go, man, have we not
provided enough? I mean, financially, we can only do so much.
Have we not provided enough for you in your career
that you've got to go chase dollars and threaten to
(44:07):
go elsewhere or not come back and play it? Like
that's the part that doesn't add up to me. And
so if you're Matthew Stafford, like you're looking around, like
what other like what other opportunities are out there that
make the most sense for him if you're looking to
(44:29):
win a super Bowl, Like if you were looking to
win a Super Bowl, like the other options that would
be out there for Matthew Stafford if he decides, and
this is you know, the what you know he's looking for.
Hey man, if they're not going to give me the
I'll go chase dollars and wins elsewhere. Okay, So like
with who with who? The Raiders farther away from a
(44:50):
super Bowl, the Colts farther away from the super Bowl, Titans,
Brown owns Jets. The Giants have been rumored that's one
of the teams that's, you know, one of the favorites
of mass Matthew Stafford leaves he would go to the Giants.
Are you closer to a super Bowl with the Giants?
(45:13):
Two teams in that division just went to the NFC
title Game. It doesn't add up. And some people say,
what about the Vikings Kevin O'Connell and them ever relationship,
But well, if that's the case, why wouldn't Vikings just
keep Sam Darnold. JJ McCarthy's the quarterback in the future.
That's the direction they're going. So none of it makes
any sense. And that's why ultimately I think he ends
(45:36):
up coming back to LA and he ends up being
the quarterback for the Rams and moving forward. But how
it got to this point doesn't add up to me.
Unless this is straight up just about the money I've
won my super Bowl. I'm looking to cash out one
final time and again I go back to three hundred
(45:57):
and sixty plus million in his career he's made. I
don't underst stand it. I really don't. I don't get it.
But maybe that's the motivation now if it is good
for him, I mean, if that's where he's at in
his career, good for him to worry. Now. Listen, man,
Like I've won my super Bowl, I'm good. I'm good
with everything that I've done, and I just I want
(46:18):
to get to a certain point like I've made three sixty.
I want to get to four sixty. I want to
get to five. I want to be a half billion
dollar quarter. Okay, but I would just assume at some
point when you came from the situation that you came
from to where he was in Detroit. And part of
the reason why the deal got done is because the
Lions basically said, hey, we're going to rebuild. You've been
(46:42):
great for us. We don't want to put you through that,
so we're going to give you the ability to go
chase the super Bowl and we'll be happy for you
when it happens. Like that's where he was, and it
wasn't like it was that long ago. And so to
see that we're at this point now to where the
Rams are like all right, man, like I okay, like
(47:04):
all right, have fun, like see what else you can
get out there. I mean, the better story for us
in sports radio sports deal like what we do is
that somebody blows them away with a yearly offer that
they would be willing to give him, and a trade
gets done, and then you get to see Matthew Stafford
go somewhere else and the Rams look around. But there
is a Domino's falling aspect to it to where if
(47:26):
this does happen, which again I don't think it will
because I don't think it makes sense at all unless
there's some sort of personal beef or some sort of
an issue there between him and the Rams or their
relationship with his wife. Like I have no idea. There's
all sorts of speculation that's out there, you know, Like
I don't know if I had anything to do with
that photographer that fell off the stage. I have no idea. Okay,
(47:49):
I'm not sure. Maybe he was underwhelmed with the Super
Bowl parade. Maybe that was it, you know, I mean,
it would have helped if you could get like some
of the local politicians in LA to where the La
Ram Jersey and not the Saint Louis Rams Jersey, that
would help. I mean, that would help. So I've been
(48:09):
just saying like maybe, like maybe there's some other stuff
going on there. But let's just say, for example, he
just liked, all right, he's got he's got other interests,
he wants to go out, he wants to go to
New York. Whatever, Fine, do your thing. Cool. Then all
of a sudden, the RAMS job opens up, and now
that's another team that a lot of people didn't expect
who's in a win now mode, with the opportunity and
(48:33):
potential to win, that is looking for a quarterback. I
would love to see Aaron Rodgers with the Rams. I
would love like he was like TMZ caught up with
him earlier this week. I think he was actually out
of my neck of the woods over here on the
Ventura County area. I think I think that's where, you know,
I think that's where he was at. But TMZ caught
(48:54):
up with him, and he's just like, listen, you know,
enjoying the sunshine. What about you know locally, what about
playing locally well? You know, it's not gonna be the Chargers,
but the two teams I would love to see that,
I don't think if I were betting, I do not
think it's gonna happen. We've talked about this before. I
think Tennessee probably is maybe the spot that makes the
most sense, I think, But the two teams that would
(49:17):
be fascinating if they landed Aaron Rodgers would be the
Rams and the forty nine Ers. And if all of
a sudden the Rams job opens up and they land
Aaron Rodgers, that is must watch because much like I've
(49:38):
said about the Jets decision to move on from Aaron
Rodgers and me saying wherever Rogers ends up with, I'll
take that team to have a better record than the
Jets this upcoming year, I will take if we're doing
the recap of the breakup potentially between Stafford and the Rams,
I will take the Rams with whoever they get at
(49:59):
quarterback over wherever Matthew Stafford ends up Right, and I
don't even know who it is, but Rogers with McVeigh,
with that team, that organization out west again, that would
be a lot of fun. Again, this is just one
of the dominoes, because then all now it becomes what
happens with Sam Donald. Sam Donald could be a match.
(50:20):
Like there's all sorts of things that are kind of
predicated on what happens between Stafford and the Rams. And
if this thing gets a little more weird and a
little more contentious and they're not able to hammer out
a deal that many expect him to at the Combine
in Indianapolis, all of a sudden, that's the top landing
spot on the market, and a guy like Aaron Rodgers
(50:43):
no doubt would give them a deal to finish out
his career on top. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio

to what is being alleged of Steve Smith Senior right
now on social media. That is, we will not let
us say this. You know, some people, some people keep

Can you say hi to my daughter? What's up Aria?
(54:21):
Thanks for listening. I'd love to take one of those
cruises out to Alaska by the way, see where those
deadliest Catch guys get all banged up and then go
out on the boat. Be sweet, But we appreciate it.
Thanks for hanging out in Alaska checking out the show.
Not sure if it's you're in the period of time
where it stays dark for eleven days straight. But we
(54:44):
appreciate you making a part of your Saturday. Thanks so much.
And again hello to Aria, and we appreciate the support. See,
not everybody's so negative here. We do have some positive
feedback from time to time here on the show. All right, So,
coming up a little over ten minutes from now here
the tire rack dot Com Studios, We're going to tell
you how there's a team in the world of sports
(55:07):
that has reached kind of a sad place. This is
kind of a sad place to be. We will get
into that for you here on FSR.
Speaker 5 (55:16):
So.
Speaker 3 (55:16):
I was thinking about this because there was a story
that came out that apparently the Dallas Cowboys and Micah
Parsons have yet to have contract discussions. Now, it's not
the biggest surprise in the world. I mean, for a
couple of reasons. One, it's not like they have to
get a deal done now, there's still some time. There's
(55:36):
the franchise tag, there's all that stuff. They just learned
what the new salary cap is for this year. It's
only going to grow, and so the expectation would be, well,
you'd want to figure out a way to keep Micah Parsons.
And also, by the way, it's the Dallas Cowboys. They
always take long on this, whether it was the Dak
Prescott situation, Cede Lamb, and sometimes they cut it too close.
(56:01):
Case in point, Mike McCarthy cut it a little too close,
and then they just decided, you know what, h Yeah,
this isn't gonna work. This just isn't gonna work for us.
And then by that time, Ben Johnson, Mike Rabel, all
these other coaches, the top candidates on the market were
off the board, and so they go with Brian Schottenheimer.
(56:22):
They're bringing Matti Refluce's defensive coordinator, like it's a new
look Dallas Cowboys. But you know what kind of peaked
my interest on this whole MICHAEH. Parsons Cowboys situation was
we had a conversation with Albert Breer on Friday on
the Dan Patrick Show, myself, LeVar and Brady Quinn were
filling in for Dan and we had a conversation with
(56:45):
Albert Breer, and LeVar asked the question about Michaeh Parsons
in his situation, and you would just expect that the
Dallas Cowboys and Michah Parsons would stay put, would stay together. Hey,
we're all good here, like listen, we are good. But
according to Breer, part of the issue with the Dallas
(57:09):
Cowboys and Michaeh Parsons is not really the player. It's
that his relationships behind the scenes. There's been some issues.
There's been some stuff that's come up. He's got the podcast,
he's got all you know, he's he's been vocal at times.
You know, there was him and Mike Zimmer apparently hadn't
really talked. There was you know, issues about last year
(57:33):
and be like it just feels like it's little. And
so you've got that on top of what already happened
this offseason, on top of the fact that they were
disappointing this past year, that they've had disappointing endings to
the season the year before that and the year before that,
they've only got a couple of million dollars in cap space.
(57:56):
Zach Martin just retired one of their great offensive line
in the history of the franchise. He's walking away, and
I kind of took a step back and I looked
at it, and I realized, oh god, they might be
in rebuild mode like that. That's a real possibility, because
(58:18):
you talk about teams in the NFL to where they
finally realize, oh, listen, we're no longer a contender, and
you know we had our shot. Now we rebuild. And
it's almost as if the Dallas Cowboys are at a
point to where they are either near rebuild mode or
at rebuild mode and they can't really do it because
(58:42):
of what they've paid to Dak Prescott to see Lamb
and others that you just have to continue down this
road and just expect mediocre results. And that's not listen,
that's not an indictment on Dak Prescott. I probably like
Dak Prescott more than a lot of people do. I
think Dak Prescott's going quarter. He's had good careers. He's
had a good career, he's had good years. I love
(59:04):
CD Lamb, but if you just looked at that organization
as a whole. Ask yourself, this, are they closer to
rebuilding or closer to a super Bowl? Based on everything
you know about this offseason, what's already happened, how previous
seasons have ended, Zach Martin's retirement, all the drama. Oh
(59:28):
and by the way, the team that just won the
Super Bowls in your division and the team that almost
went to the Super Bowls also in your division, ask yourself, this,
are the Dallas Cowboys closer to a super Bowl or
closer to a rebuild? I think they're closer to a rebuild.
(59:49):
And when you just kind of take a step back
and kind of look at the big picture of things,
that ain't great for a guy like Jerry Jones, who
sells this team is oh, well, you know, listen, we're
all in last year, and you know we've got super
Bowl aspirations and we've got man, I've thought about this
for a little while now. We've talked about it before.
(01:00:12):
Their best chance to win a Super Bowl was twenty sixteen.
That was their year. Everything lined up. Dak on a
rookie con as a rookie, Zeke is a rookie in
his prime, Dak making the money that he was making,
They were talented, they had a home game, they were
(01:00:33):
second in Super Bowl odds that year going into the playoffs,
and the Dallas Cowboys ended up losing that game to
Green Bay. And so when you see everything that's transpired
since then, and you see all the stuff that's already
happened this offseason based on the year that they had
last year, the division they're in now, and the fact
that you know, maybe you know, maybe Micah Parsons, according
(01:00:56):
to some people there behind the scenes, is a little
bit of a pain in the ass. I mean, maybe
that's maybe this is a bigger problem than we realize.
You start to take a step back and realize, oh god,
we're not talking super Bowl anymore. We're talking about whether
or not you just tear this down and go in
a different direction. Because I don't know, if you're a
Cowboy fan, how you look at this team based on
(01:01:17):
everything that you've gotten thus far in the offseason. What
are we like a couple of weeks into it. If that,
I don't know how you look at this team and go, oh, no,
they'll be back. Yeah, I don't worry about they'll be back.
It's kind of a rough spot for the Dallas Cowboys
to be in Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio at
the Jonas Knocks on X at the Jonas Knox on
X and you can hang out with us as always
(01:01:38):
on the iHeartRadio app. All right, so coming up next here, listen,
this is not a not a great look for one
team in the world of sports. It's kind of sad time,
kind of a sad time for one great franchise in
the world of sports. We'll explain who that is coming
up right here on Fox Sports Radio. But for all
the latest from around the world of sports. Ladies and gentlemen,
(01:01:58):
make some noise and roll out the red carpet in
your ears for the one and the only mansy.
Speaker 6 (01:02:06):
You let me up, they take you over you.
Speaker 5 (01:02:12):
Yeah, it's like we've never stopped totally.
Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
How we feel mons.
Speaker 5 (01:02:20):
No, I'm chilling, I'm chilling. I'm actually excited. So I
am throwing my friend a small.
Speaker 6 (01:02:26):
Bachelorette party tonight.
Speaker 5 (01:02:28):
Uh so, I'm really just trying to get through this day.
So I can, you know, go through some singles at
some go go dancers?
Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
Oh no, kidd were Uh, well, I don't know if
you want to give.
Speaker 5 (01:02:37):
Out well, I'm not gonna tell you where I'm going,
but we are. We are going to uh an event,
uh a nightclub and uh you know, and throw some
singles at some go go dancers.
Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
What makes it a small bachelorette party?
Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
Well, because I well, I've I've thrown other bachelorette parties
and I've gone, you know, balls to the walls.
Speaker 6 (01:02:54):
I don't know if I could say that, I'm sorry, so.
Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
Uh A, nowadays, you never know.
Speaker 6 (01:02:59):
You never r no, you never know.
Speaker 5 (01:03:01):
And so she got engaged quickly and quickly decided to
get married. So there was just not a lot of
time between now and then, and it was literally like
this is the only day that's available. She's getting married
next week. And it's just like a kind of quick turnaround.
So I had to move quickly, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
Yeah, that's guys. Have you ever faked a bachelrette party?
Speaker 6 (01:03:24):
I have not faked a bachelorette party. I have faked
a ring, Like okay, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:03:30):
When I was serving tables or when I was a server,
I would wear a ring because I just was like,
I don't want to have this conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
Well it's yeah, I know, and that's just as have
this conversation. I wish I had that problem, but I
see the uh, the art to it is this, what's
the art? Well, it's much like Halloween, Like if people
know that it's Halloween, they're more likely to act out
because it's Halloween. Right, It's true, let's have some fun,
(01:03:57):
you're right, Well, you can get away with more. Yeah,
well not even not even just get away with more.
People are more receptive to the idea of oh, yeah,
we want to have fun too.
Speaker 5 (01:04:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:04:07):
And the next thing, you know, all of a sudden,
you find somebody, do you designate as the bachelor, a bachelorette,
You put on this whole production. And again I'm not
saying I've partaken any of that stuff before. You know,
that's I mean, that's REPREHENSI but I just you know,
there is the I've heard stories, yes from people that
I know that absolutely is so just saying.
Speaker 5 (01:04:27):
That's even even as simple as sing it's someone's birthday, right,
Like when you go somewhere and you just almost your
birthday and you want to you want to free dessert.
Speaker 6 (01:04:35):
Yeah, it's as simple as that.
Speaker 5 (01:04:36):
But no, no, never faked a bachelorette party.
Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
So it is, it is on the table, it.
Speaker 5 (01:04:43):
Is, it's it's never too late. I mean, we should
do it, Jonahs, we can plan a fake bachelor.
Speaker 6 (01:04:49):
Why not.
Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
It will make Boat, will make both a bachelor, and.
Speaker 5 (01:04:54):
Let's do all of this, especially because Boat didn't have
a real bachelor party because it was during COVID.
Speaker 6 (01:04:59):
So we and actually give him one.
Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
Welcome to the club.
Speaker 6 (01:05:02):
Okay, they want to give both of you one.
Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
And you want to know something, here's I still remember this.
We had. The entire trip was planned like everybody was
in air, like tickets, bought hotels, like everybody was looking
forward to it. It was supposed to be in May of
twenty twenty, and I remember early that year, like well
before COVID had happened, I was sitting down with a
buddy of mine who was who knows stuff before it happens,
(01:05:27):
Like he's all all versed on not the typical news,
but he does his research, like really smart, one of
the smartest people I know. And we're sitting I remember
we're at a Buffalo Wild Wings and he's like, hey, man,
you know your bachelor party's not happening, right, I'm like,
what do you mean? He goes have you been reading
up about that thing that's happened in over in China,
the COVID thing, And the I was like, oh, like yeah,
(01:05:48):
like coronavirus or something. He goes yeah, he goes, dude,
we're getting shut down. You know how this is going
to track right like this is where it's trending shut down.
I was like, no, we're not, dude. He's like, yeah,
we are. Watch so is this like early March? Oh
way before that?
Speaker 6 (01:06:03):
Wait? Wait were that okay?
Speaker 3 (01:06:05):
Late January early Febuary?
Speaker 6 (01:06:06):
Yes, okay, and.
Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
Next thing, you know, yeah, there we were. So the
entire the bachelor party got wiped out. My wife had
a little bit of a bachelorette party, like a small
one like you're talking about. But yeah, we had all
our plants completely distrossed.
Speaker 6 (01:06:18):
Oh I'm sorry. I know. That's I'm sorry. That is well,
we're gonna throw one.
Speaker 5 (01:06:23):
Then we're gonna do a dumble whammie and we're gonna
do it and we're gonna have some fun.
Speaker 6 (01:06:27):
We are gonna do it live, we'll do it on
the show. We'll do the whole thing.
Speaker 5 (01:06:31):
Yeah, don't worry, We're gonna make it a live on
the air live on the air, the whole thing.
Speaker 6 (01:06:36):
We'll be miked up. It'll be great, it'll be great.
Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
All right, let me tell you what's going on in
men's college hoops. Oklahoma just defeated twenty one Mississippis number
twenty one Mississippi State ninety three to eighty seven. But
Sooner's player Duke Miles, theer's of video on social media,
face planted chasing a loose ball. He definitely lost a
tooth maybe too. It's brutal. It's brutal.
Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
I mean Derek White did in the finals last year.
Speaker 6 (01:07:02):
Yes, but he kept going.
Speaker 5 (01:07:03):
He was all smiley and like this the face plant
on this one, like he was chasing the ball and
literally face plants hard like it hurts watching.
Speaker 6 (01:07:12):
And definitely, I'm telling me he may have lost two.
You saw one fly. He may have lost two. Oh,
very unfortunate.
Speaker 5 (01:07:19):
Number six Tennessee defeated number seven Texas A and M
seventy seven to sixty nine. Chads Lanier had thirty points
in the win, including eight threes. Number nine Texas Tech
crush West Virginia seventy three to fifty one, and Oregon
with a seventy seven to seventy three comeback win over
number eleven Wisconsin, snapping their five game a winning streak.
Right now with about twelve minutes to go in the game,
(01:07:41):
Number five, Houston's on top of number eight Iowa State
forty five to thirty six, and then on the ice
the wild Edge the Red Wings sported three in overtime.
The Flyers top the Oilers six to three. The Capitals
did score, it was not Alex Ovechkin, and they're leading
right now. The Penguins one zero halfway through the first period.
And in Major League Baseball Brew outfielder Blake Perkins is
(01:08:01):
expected to miss the first month of the season after
fracturing his.
Speaker 6 (01:08:05):
Right shin during batting practice.
Speaker 7 (01:08:07):
Ouch back to you, Jonas Puja.
Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
Gusta, all right, fun with the Bachelor atte party. Yeah,
don't throw off on anybody.
Speaker 5 (01:08:16):
I'm not gonna throw on anybody, Chris, I'm not gonna
go down.
Speaker 6 (01:08:19):
Yeah, I'm going to I do part, Yes, I do.
Speaker 5 (01:08:23):
But I have to make sure everybody else is okay.
And I'll be holding anyone's hair that.
Speaker 6 (01:08:27):
Maybe throwing up you guys, because I care at all.
Speaker 5 (01:08:30):
I gotta be responsible today because I'm putting this together
fair enough, that's all there.
Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
She is at the Great Monte Belaanius with us year
on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, coming up in
about ten minutes from now, we are going to close
up shop with the scraps. Those are things in the
world of sports and beyond we have not had a
chance to get to. So that'll be yours here again
from the tiraq dot com studios. You know, like this
is let's just be clear about this, this whole story
(01:08:55):
that came out where the Yankees are gonna allow facial hair,
like I mean it was it's kind of an antiquated rule,
like pretty outdated, like you can't have facial hair. It's like, okay,
all right. You know, times have changed. You know, like
there used to be a time where you couldn't have
a visible tattoo showing if you were a server. So
they would make you like put a bandage on it
(01:09:15):
or like you know, put a band aid over it,
or like a wristband or something like that, depending on
where the tattoo was. And now like like we're talking
like you go somewhere and like a politician's got a
full sleeve. Like it's just the game has changed. So
the Yankees being like, all right, well listen, we're going
to allow facial hair, you know, moving forward, like well groomed,
(01:09:37):
well groomed beards, well manicured facial hair, whatever you want
to call it. They're going to allow that moving forward.
Don't you think it's kind of sad? And I'm not
saying it's sad that they're moving away from the tradition,
this was their thing whatever like that, you decide you
want to move on, you want to adapter, Like I
totally get it, Like all that's fine, But don't you
think it's kind of sad that you look around major
(01:10:00):
League Baseball? The Dodgers have literally done everything they wanted
to do in the off season. Everything like any hole
that they had they filled in the off season, whether
it be the bullpens starting pitching depth like what like Reese,
(01:10:20):
retaining their best players like ta Oscar Hernandez, even Keik
Hernandez got a deal done earlier than than it has
happened in years, like all of like everything that they
wanted to do they've done. Oh and show, hey, Otani's
gonna be pitching again. Okay, that's awesome. All right. So
(01:10:40):
in MVP, besdh ma, okay, and he's gonna pitch great
like two rockstar young pitchers from Japan. Oh, we got
those two like everything that they wanted to do. The
New York Mets seven hundred and sixty five million dollars
for Juan Soto. I think he might hit a home
run earlier in a spring training game. I think that's
(01:11:02):
what happened in his first But like the Met, like
all these stories that either kind of tie to the
Yankees or are related to in some way, shape or
form to the Yankees, and their big news at a
spring is what, hey, we'll let you have a goatee. Now,
it's kind of like boy, way to go. Hey, hey,
(01:11:28):
we'll be back. What about John Carlos Stanton while he's
got no elbows? Okay, all right, but guess what, you
can grow a beard. Yeah, but what about you know
that guy that's making like three hundred million dollars or
whatever it was. Uh, and he's you know, got like
praying mantis arms. Now, but listen, who cares about all that?
(01:11:50):
Who cares? Who cares? Anybody want to look like rally
fingers come to the Yankees. It's just it's kind of
odd that of all the big news and notes that
have come around Major League Baseball this offseason. The Yankees
counter with, we're gonna allow you to grow a beard now,
(01:12:11):
all right? Just feels like a sad state of affairs
for the New York Yankees, just saying, Jonas Knox here
Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox on X at
the Jonas Knox on X. Coming up next here though,
we will put a bow on this bad boy. Was
something we do called the Scraps right here on FSR
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. So coming up and we'll
(01:12:36):

Sandler and Nicky Ka who will have you covered on
all things NFL offseason, NBA college hoops. Make sure you
stick around. Tracy and Nicky will have the Fox Sports

now before we close up shop here with something we
do called the Scraps. A reminder that shortly after the
show the podcast will be going up. So if you've

to also follow, rate and review it again. Just search
Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast and you'll
see this show posted right after we get off the air.
By the way, I will also tweet out a link
to that as well too at the Jonas Knox on X.
(01:13:51):
At the Jonas Knox on X right now though it's
time for.
Speaker 4 (01:13:54):
This, Jonas, how could you not get to these stories?
Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
Moron?
Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
Are there scraps? And for that, we turned it over
to our executive producer Bo Benson to find out what
the hell we've missed so far on the show.
Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
Bo, did something happen with Steve Smith?
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
Or wait, you know what I mean? Just some accusations
out there, that's all again. You know, I don't know nothing.
I just uh, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
Did you see that guy tagged Yeddi coolers in his
initial post? Well why wouldn't you know?
Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
What I mean? Like?
Speaker 2 (01:14:26):
Why, what what's gonna do for you? Buddy?
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
By the way, you know what's funny?
Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
So when we were.
Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
At Super Bowl. Uh, Travis Matthew was, you know, a
sponsor at Super Bowl, and so they had these Travis
Matthew yetti cups that were on the stage there for us,
and so LeVar took one of them. I was like,
you're taking ed? He goes, hey, man, never pass up
a free yetti. Okay, I didn't know stopies, but wow.
(01:15:01):
So I mean, listen, who knows he's the guy's gonna
out his wife for having an affair with Steve Smith
and at the same time get a new cooler. I'm
a woman, Thank you, Rob oh Man.
Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
Okay, so apparently we can confirm that.
Speaker 3 (01:15:14):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
Former forty nine Ers linebacker Devandre Campbell is one of
those guys that tweets at you during the show. He
went on a profanity laden tirade, uh clapping back and
everybody the dare question has come in into football, I
guess really strange just from him all around.
Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
I mean he pointed out that man, I've made enough
money I never have to work again in my life.
He made I think forty million dollars in his NFL career.
And you know what's funny about this, Like, so Devandre
Campbell walks away from the team, says I'm rich, I'm good.
Anthony Rendon just has played like four games with the
(01:15:52):
Angels after signing a two hundred plus million dollar contract
and said a couple of years ago something along the
lines it might have been last year where he said, mant's,
I mean, baseball is not my priority, you know god family, Like, yeah,
the baseball is always going to come third to that.
And here's the thing about Devondre Campbell and Anthony Rendon,
They're right. I mean, like, you know, I mean, ask
(01:16:14):
yourself this, would you rather continue to play football or
walk away with forty million dollars? Would you rather have
an injury plagued tenure with the team and still keep
your two hundred million or have to play all those
games for the same money, you know what I mean. Like, so,
(01:16:36):
whatever we want to say about them, they were right.
And they're going to be living comfortably for the rest
of their lives, so you know, is what it is.
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
Yeah. The Fresno State men's basketball team is under inquiry
for something related to sports betting. One player has been
removed from the team and two others have been suspended.
Speaker 3 (01:16:55):
Oh I love gambling. Controversies in sports the way. I
love it when you like get some of the hippies
on social media, like Mike Florio, who go, this is
so bad for the this is the problem. You can't
If you go down this, everybody's gonna do. So what
I mean, are we just gonna stop watching? Are you
(01:17:16):
just gonna stop watching? Like if you found out that
prominent players in the NFL were betting on games and
from time to time maybe a game was fixed, are
you gonna stop watching? I got news for you. Guess
what's coming up soon to the city of Las Vegas. WrestleMania.
Those are predetermined outcomes. Not only can you bet on those,
(01:17:36):
but they draw one hundred and fifty thousand people a
weekend every time they do it. The super Bowl was
just in New Orleans. WrestleMania is gonna be in New
Orleans next year. They know who's gonna win ahead of time.
But you still watch anyways. I don't care if a
couple of players or a couple of teams get popped
in a gambling scandal, It's not going to deter me
from watching. Just because one bad apple's there doesn't mean
(01:17:59):
you throw out and burn down the whole produce department.
It's gonna be fine. We need stories like this and
adds a little bit of energy to our coverage.
Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
All right, last thing from me here. It does look
as if Tony Hawk's pro Skater three and four are
going to get remakes. It was teased in a Call
of Duty map. Funny enough, but the website for the
game has been updated with the countdown that ends on
March March March fourth, So you know three oh four?
Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
Now are you.
