Speaker 4 (00:42):
So much to cover today, late breaking NFL news, We
got NBA news. The Lakers are playing well, Lucas dropping thirty,
receivers are moving, quarterbacks are staying. And speaking of quarterbacks,
there's something that quarterbacks have to do called an audible.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
And if you don't want an audible, is is win.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
At the buzzard at the last second, When the linebacker shows,
when the safety shows, when the DA shows, when the
corner stands a certain way the quarterback knows, Okay, this
play not gonna work. We gotta run another play that's
gonna be more successful. And guess what a sports talk
radio we kind of got to do the same thing.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
And then an.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Audible this guy, it's the most audible ready guy in
the business, definitely for Fox Sports Radio, filling in in
the last second. Man being a teammate that he always is,
my man, I call him Arnie kaka Spey.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Or my man.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
All the way out from out with all that beautiful
maple syrup and all that good weather out there, they
got going right now, Arnie, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Brother? Are you doing it? What's up? VJ?
Speaker 5 (01:36):
You know I was telling somebody today that what are
you doing tonight? Ago, I'm not doing nothing lies on
at night as they take out Iowa State, and I
know it's gonna be bad luck for me now, but
as I got the Saga doing updates and my Arizona.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Wild Cats playing out of Saturday night. So but I'm
ready to roll.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
A lots going on. You mentioned the big trade that
just fell in our laps. Unbelievable that has so many
effect not just for Washington, but for so many other teams.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
I'm sure we'll get it. We'll get to it. I'll
set all I'll set on it up.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Don't jump the gun on me, because there's some quarterback
news that I want to talk call so too. We're
gonna run down some quarterback stuff. You and I had
the show last week. We had the same time slot
last weekend. We talked about free agents. Are guys that
were asking to be traded and where would we like
to see them go. So we'll touch on that because
I have that list right here in front of me,
because I also took it on.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
VJ said what I said yesterday.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Make sure y'all go on my Twitter and see the
post and see the link click on that my new
sports talk TV show. VJ said what I said, and
I spoke about what you and I spoke about.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
But let's just go right to the elephant room.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
And also before we do that, I'll also you know me, man,
I always got to get love to everybody that's in
the studio working because it's not just you and I.
You and I are who the fans here, but they
don't understand and sometimes maybe they do, but there are
a lot of people that make this thing go it's
not just my beautiful voice in your raspy one. We
got my man, I rowdy missed the ir super producer
(02:59):
running the show, sho putting everything to go and keeping
us tight, keeping us in order. Here Steve the Saga,
the best update man in the business. For my money,
I don't care what nobody said. I'll put my money
on Missus the Saga all day. And then little Nassy
little cis miss maybe nac nac nac all je. Now
she got in black today, she got on some ten
and stuff with I see that toboggan though, Mama, it's
not that cold. Though, it's not that cold. But she
(03:20):
got the toboggan off. But that's the crew in today, man,
along with myself and Arnie. So Arnie, let's jump right
to it. The San Francisco forty nine ers. This is
something that I called in the middle of the season.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Ian's here.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Ian's been producing the whole football season. I know Ian remembers.
I said and about week thirteen, week fourteen that the
San Francisco forty nine ers, we're going to have to
start to have some quiet what I call behind closed doors,
no cell phones, no internet, no social media, nobody's gonna
go run their mouth and tail and leak. They needed
(03:51):
to start to have some serious quiet conversations about Deebo.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Samuel.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
You know how I feel about the Super Bowl window, Arnie.
I say, you got four years in the NFL, nless
you have the best coaching, the best quarterback, and over
the last thirty years that's only been two teams. Yeah,
some other teams will jump in there and still want
because they got good quarterbacks and good coaches too. But
Belichick and Brady ran for twenty years, and Andy Reid
and Mahomes are now running the show, and maybe you
could jump in there and grab one. We just seen
Sirianni and Jalen Hurts go get themselves won. But now
(04:18):
you look at the Salsis forty nine ers over the
last four or five years, Arnie, they've been to two
Super Bowls, Arnie. The last over the last four five years, Arnie,
they were up in the fourth quarter in two Super
Bowls and could not close the door. And they've pushed
all their chips in. They paid Brandon Nyu, they paid Trent,
they paid Kittle. They want to pay Brock, right, we
all think that they want to pray. I mean, hell,
(04:39):
they took a flyer on Trey Lance. Like they've tried
to win the Super Bowl. They paid dee Bo at
one point, they traded for McCaffrey. They tried, they pushed
all their chips in. Man, they tried to get this
thing done. But if you don't get it done, what
starts to happen?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Arnie.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
You gotta start letting guys go because that salary cap,
that money, it starts to all add up.
Speaker 6 (04:59):
Man.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
You kicking the can down the road, sooner or later,
you got to pick it up and put it in
a trash can. And I think that's where they are
right now. Your thoughts, Deebo fifth Rounder? What to the commanders?
Oh my god, Jayon Daniels, Hello, man.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
So many questions.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Well, the first thing that came to my mind is
and we knew that they wanted to go ahead and
trade him, So that feels My first thing is, I
guess they're gonna go ahead and pay brock Purty all
the money. They're gonna go right and and and he'll
get his money when when that happens. So that's the
first thing that I thought of. Second thing when I
heard it was for a fifth round pick. I'm scratching
my head. I go who, who exactly puts these evaluations
(05:37):
out there? Like when the Cowboys trade a fourth round
pick for Jonathan Mingo, but yet you give up a
fifth round pick for for Deebo. I mean it seems
like theft. It really does. I find it hard to
believe when they when they said, well, Washington was far
more aggressive than everybody else, Well, what was everybody else
offering a three dozen balls? I mean, what's worse than
(06:02):
a fifth round pick? I mean you only going seven rounds?
What the seventh round pick in five years from now?
I find it hard to believe everybody said no, I
would unless people said, you know what, he's not worth
the money. He had a bad year. He was targeted
thirty more times than he had catches out there. We're
not sure we want to go ahead and pay him
(06:24):
that money. Now, he could have been a rental. They're
only gonna pay him what seventeen million dollars on his
salary this year, But he does take that they do
take a San Francisco or excuse me, Washington takes a
thirty one million dollar cap hit on that. So that's
the penalty. There have, and they don't have to sign
him for a fifth round pick. This could be a
(06:44):
pure rental if that's what you want it to be.
But I do have questions with Debo. And that's exactly
your one hundred percent right when you said that San
Francisco can't pay everybody, sooner or later, you got to
pay the piper, and you have to pay the piper
when you finish.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Last place, even though you had injuries, somebody's got to go.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
Somebody can't get paid, and in this case it's Deebo Samuel.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Yeah, exactly. But here's the thing. Here's the thing. Deebo
did get paid.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Deebo got paid by San Francisco before the next check exactly. Yeah,
but at this point in his career here, and here's
the thing, at this point in his career, as you
just said, are you going to give him thirty three
thirty four million dollars? Like, look what the top receivers
in the league are making right now?
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Right?
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Okay, So so where exactly where exactly does does Debo
Deebo sit?
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Right? When when you look at.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Jamar Chase and you look at a just Justin Jefferson,
even even look at Devonte Adams, who I still feel
that there's gotta be somebody that's gonna go after Devontae Adams.
There's gotta be somebody that looks at Devonte Adams and things. Okay,
this guy can still get it done. Justin Jefferson right now.
Thirty four mil, thirty five million, CD LAMB thirty four million,
(07:59):
AJ Round thirty two million. I'm Ron say Brown thirty,
Tyreek Hill thirty Brandon Aiyuk also too quiet. Stories coming
out of the combine that San Francisco are having some
conversations also about possibly moving Brandon. I you call so,
so they may not be done. This team is looking
to get cheaper and younger. If you're gonna sign Brock
to a big deal, you better make sure that you're gonna.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Have some money to make some moves later to get
him some weapons.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Jayalen Watle at twenty eight, Davonte Adams at twenty eight,
and DJ Moore at twenty seven. You could keep sliding
all the way down to Deebo Samuel at twenty three
point eight five million dollars. So if you're gonna give
them a new deal, it would have to be in
the thirty round and VJ.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
Le Worth that what's the easiest position to replace somebody out?
It seems wide receiver. It feels like you could go
into the draft and in the third, fourth, fifth round
Poka Nakou a year and Cooper Cup there and.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
You're you're doing pretty well for yourself, you know what, Arnie.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
My only thing about that, I'm not gonna walk back
at it too much, but I'm not gonna jumped the
broom with it either. It's to say, the easiest position
to replace his receiver? Okay, if you're trying to replace
maybe DJ Moore, if you're trying to replace let's say
Michael Pittman junior with the coach right, you could probably
get something close to him in the draft for through
(09:18):
another player. But you're not replacing Justin Jefferson. You're not
replacing a J. Brown, Tyreek Hill, Almoran, Saint Brown. Those
guys aren't replaceable unless you're replacing him with another top guy.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
That's the Chiefs. If they missed Tyreek Hill, well yeah,
absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
And here's the thing, they landed a guy with Xavier Worthy,
and I think Worthy is gonna be I think I
think Zavira Worthy is gonna be good.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
He's just as good.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
But somebody like you, it's a perfect exact exactly like
Worthy is good enough and you can tell he's gonna.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Be a star. Yeah, but they couldn't. But he's not
Tyreek Hill. They couldn't.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
They couldn't replace him. No, they couldn't replace Tyreek Hill.
But San Francisco they had to make this move. And
I called this in the middle of the season, looking
at the way this season was going and just knowing
what the contracts looked like. Look, that injury that Trent
had started to hurt a little more as that as
that record started to go a little more to the
negative five hundred side.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Right.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
I always said that even covering the NFL, NBA, Major League,
based on the NHL, the way I do pro athletes.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
And this is not to try to knock any him.
This is just other facts.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
When you're not on a good team and the season
not going very well, that hamstring in week ten, Week eleven,
week twelve, when you're going into Chicago and it's gonna
be twenty three twenty four degrees hurts a little more.
That groin hurts a little more. That calf strain adds bother.
It's bothered me. It's bothered me just a little more.
(10:38):
You see this all the time in pro sports. And
Trent's another guy that's gonna come up from San Francisco,
the big time left tackle. He's gonna want to be
paid again. But aren't you kind of on the back
side of your prime? And yet the guy's asking for
that type of money on the back side of their prime.
I just never agree with it. And this, once again,
(11:00):
this was a move to Niners had to make. Let's
flip for it to command. I do you have a question?
I have a question for you. Sure, who is the
biggest loser of the trade? Think about that for a second.
Fis no, no, no, no, not my opinion, at least,
not San Francisco. Okay, and not Washington.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
The biggest loser or the biggest loser of the trades
the Dallas Cowboys. Because now you have the top two
teams in the NFC in the same division. Everybody's gonna
be focusing on Philadelphia and Washington. There's no doubt in
my mind, there's gonna be one two to two one,
however you want to put them. If I'm a Cowboy fan,
I'm on the phone, the Jerry Jones going your move, Jerry,
(11:37):
do something, get us relevant or we're just gonna suck again.
The seasons already over and it's March whatever, March second. Mark, Well,
you're hyperbolic as usual.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
The season is not really that the division. You need
the seasons not over them.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Mark.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Yeah, And you're one quarterback a c l away from
being in contention or from being out of it.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
I mean that's if you're backing out.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
No, well, I'm not baking on an injury. But what
happened with the Cowboys this year, Dak went down season.
If you didn't go down anything stop. What happened with
the Dolphins this year goes down? Season over when you
don't have your quarterback season over. I'm not sure that
this is the depth of the Cowboys. What I'm looking
to see, I'm not What I'm interested with the Cowboys
is to see what they do with Michael Parsons because
(12:22):
another one of my predictions were, if you pay CD
before you pay.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Him, always believe I to take care of your quarterback first.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
I always believe take care of the QB first, right,
and then take care of everybody else. And when they
decide to take care of CD before Micah. I said,
I don't know how he's gonna take that, and he
might ask out, they might think about moving him, which
you're starting to hear rumblings that Micah could be on
(12:49):
the move for the right price. Because if you're Dallas,
you just had an all pro offits a lineman retire,
you have a new head coach, you really only have
one wide receiver. You need a whole new running back room.
You need a whole new running back room. Got a
couple of tight ends. I like shoemaker. I like a
shoemaker from Michigan.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Got a couple of tight ends.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
But you know, the defense could there's some holes that
could be plugged in on the defensive side of the
ball there. It wasn't no coincidence that Dad Quinn had
a number one, number two while he was there the
whole time. He walks out the door and the defense
falls through the floor, right, So there are some other
holes there for Dallas. I'm not sure that they're the
biggest losers. I'm waiting to see what happens with them
and Michael Parsons. So, speaking of the NFC East, now
let's go to the Washington side of this. I think
(13:27):
this is outstanding for Washington. You get a guy who's
a game breaker, who's a game changer, with a chip
on his shoulder, almost on a prove it TOV kind
of year, with a rookie quarterback contract. And that's isn't
that what NFL is all about. You want to put
together a really good team around a really good young
(13:48):
rookie quarterback contract. That's what they did with Samrus' is
gonna block party. That's what Pete Carroll did with the
Seattle Seals before they had to play Russell Wilson. You
had all those draft picks, you had all those those
low draft picks, fifth round, six round, undrafted, and you
have Russ on that cheap deal. He was able to
pay Best Mode, He was able to pay Tyler Walkeet
was able to pay other guys, right Cam Cam Chancellor,
(14:08):
the legion to boom. And then when you had to
pay him, then you start to see the dominoes fall.
Earl Thomas, remember Earl Thomas got mad and they get
and didn't get his money. So for Washington, this is
great for them. Terry mcclauury just had a career year.
You're gonna add Deebo Samuel to this. With the running
game that they had, Daniels, Baby, they had to.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
They didn't have enough offensive weapons, especially what you see
in the NFL VJ. And besides their rushing game, their
leading rusher was Jayde Daniels.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
Oh yeah, yeah, well we had run a quarterbacks. I
know that, but you can't.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
You can't have him as as your leading rusher.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
And besides, when he gets paid, he's gonna take up
so much money he may have to be on the
team by himself. There might not be anybody for anybody else.
I can always, I can always see what he's going
to demand.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
He's not telling you that one.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
And I'm telling you right now, if there was a if,
if I'm gonna go ahead and lay a bet down
right now, I'm betting that Washington in Philadelphia will be
the two favorites to go to the NFC championship game.
They have improved themselves so much right now, so a
rematch right there? I mean, who do you who do
you see better than those two NFC? Inter fact, they
(15:17):
maybe won two in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Like, I still like what Green Bay can put on
the field. I still like Minnesota's still out. We got
to see, well, my man, JJ McCarthy's gonna look like
whether the Vikers decide to give Donald like a really
friendly kind of mini rich two year deal and see
how it just just in case the meniscus isn't healed
for McCarthy. But if I'm looking at Washington, you're talking
about the seventh rank offense in the NFL at twenty
(15:41):
eight and a half points, and you're gonna add to that.
And even on the Russian side of Washington, they were
the third best rushing team in the NFL last year.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
So they can run the ball.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
I don't care who's the leader rusher, the simple factors
when they tried out there, a buck fifty five a
Sunday is what they put on the turf.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
So you're adding Deebo to that. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
But the only thing is that when now that I've
added a big, another big powerhouse wide receiver, I can't
have Daniels running as much as he did. I can't
take that chance. He's not like Fields, he's not nearly
like that. I can't afford him going down and taking ahead.
That's it's too much risk right there. I gotta I
gotta pull him back a little bit, just like they
(16:24):
pulled back Mahomes from running so much like he used to.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
I'll tell you what the end, Josh too, I'll tell
you what they we won't pull back. Is the enthusiasm
in this show today. Man, we got a lot to cover. Man.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
That's the first segment, Larnie, so good to have you in. Deebo.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
Samuel my man who wants some of Deebo is now
a Washington commander.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
The rest of the NFL.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
You're you're You're on the clock, baby, and we never
get this type of stuff during the combine.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Man, So we'll take a quick break. We'll come back
when I come.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
When we come back, we're gonna toss around the quarterback
carousel and I'll tell you all and arnial chime and
also why I believe this could be the most quarterback
movement in any off season that we've seen, at least
in the last fifteen to twenty years in the NFL. Uh.

hit us up on x I'm at the Big Vanilla Funny.
He's at Stinking Genius one, and we'll beginning to your
tweets throughout the show. I know you guys got a
lot to say about some of the quarterbacks that we're
gonna talk about. There's a tweet that I'm going to
bring up because Arnie Live Saturday, when you and I
were talking about Matthew Stafford and where we wanted them
to say to go and said I wanted him to
(18:00):
stay put. Two guys jumped right on me on Twitter. Oh,
you don't know what you're talking. He needs to go, man,
he needs to get out of here. They need to reset,
They need to restart over what you got young players.
You got young pieces there on offense and defense, So
why would you want to do that? That makes no sense?
And speaking of that, let's go there, Arnie, let's talk
about some of these quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
I got a list of guys.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
Here, of quarterbacks that I think are are are questionable
about where where could they end up in? Where they're
gonna be. We already know about Matthew Stafford. I can
check him off my list. If for those listeners out
there that may not know, Matthew Stafford has agreed to
restructure his deal and will return to the La Rams.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
I was surprised about that to be not at all,
not at all for me. And you know what, and
I get it. I give a lot of people worry.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
I'm not not like completely surprised. I was like, like
fifty five to forty five percent that are fifty to
fifty that he may leave, that he really was going
to look at another option, and he was going to
be heard. I know he loved that. I just wasn't
sure that the Rams really wanted to give him some
money in some years. So I was I thought that
(19:08):
maybe they were okay with him walking away.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Why But why though here, here's my thing. You could
be surprised, and that's fine. I'm not jing.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
I just made a prediction. The prediction ended up just
coming out right. Everybody can feel how they want to
feel about it. But to me, it just made no
sense to let him walk walking didn't do what bringing
Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
I just made no sense to me. Why they knew
what he was.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
Point.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
I thought it was unnecessary risk, I understand.
Speaker 5 (19:38):
I'm not even sure how this negotiation got to this point.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Why didn't they just give him the contract to begin?
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Well, you gotta work things out. You got to see
how the money plays out. You gotta see what's out
there in the market. You gotta see what kind of
season you have. You gotta talk to Matthew Stafford. You
got to see how he feels. This guy is old, Like,
let's get real cover.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
I'm there.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
I'm in his face every Sunday. I'm getting quotes from
the guy. He could tell. He's an older guy. Now, man,
he's not a young pupp in his league anymore. He's
he's long in the tooth, he's on the back end
of his career.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
He knows it.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
McVeigh knows it. Everybody knows that. Hold up, Hold up,
the fans know what. Everybody knows it. Okay, so you
gotta gauge where he's at. My problem with the whole
storyline was there was these so called reports out that
they were growing tired of him and some of the
other you know, stuff with his with his lady in
the podcast, and it's like, no, no, yeah exactly. But hey, listen,
(20:25):
That's why I always say I don't always go with reports.
I don't always live to reports. It's just my thing.
I just get a kind of a feel for whether
somebody wants to be somewhere. Like you said, he loves
Los Angeles, Why would you go somewhere this late in
your career? Stay right here? You got pookah. And now
another switch to this too is if I'm if I'm
Cooper Cup, maybe I'm going back to the front office
and saying, hey, hold hold up, hey, let's hold up,
(20:48):
let's work something out.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Well, let's let's let's work something out. Who are you
afraid of? In the NFC West, they just won the division.
Who are you afraid of? Where? If you're cool, where
you're going you go.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
To Philly, You're going to Washington, You're going to the
You're going to the Packers, you're going to the Vikings.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Those are the other best teams in the NFC.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
Actually, there was talk about I thought I saw a
report to Cooper Cup and the Kansas City Chiefs had
some in U. But that'd be a good place for enough,
you know, just and that'd be a phenomena.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
I don't even think that'd be a good place for
him to end up. Why would that? Why because they're
the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
The one thing I'm not gonna do, Arnie, is I'm
not gonna start trying to put all the veterans with
with with with like the team that's been winning a lot,
because we do that a lot in radio.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
It's like we like DeAndre Hopkins ended up there, right?
What did they do for them this year?
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Can anybody tell me? And anybody, can anybody tell me
the DeAndre Hopkins play? You remember this year?
Speaker 8 (21:36):
That goes ha I remember him dropping the ball in
the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
There you go, there you go. But do you have
do you remember that?
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Oh? Well that's why they wait and got DeAndre Hopkins.
And I think we do this all the time, is
we want to put these veterans with the best teams
in the league. And it's almost like, why if you're
if you're over the hill for where you are, then
why would I bring you over here. Let's like it,
if I've been divorced, if if you've been divorced three times,
why do I think come to fourth husband that's gonna
(22:01):
make it work?
Speaker 8 (22:02):
Right?
Speaker 4 (22:03):
I'm okay, I'm okay, I'll go, I'll go back to
the social media. But I'll tell you this though, I'll
tell you who I'm not divorcing, who I would be
with forever. And that's the greatest update guy in the business. Hey,
mister Steve, we got a lot going on. Hey, hey,
don't talk about my guys. Best got in the business.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Frime, Steve Friday's got Steve.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
You know you're gonna jakes me now because Arizona's playing
Iowa State and after what we did to them last time.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 7 (22:27):
We look at you when you were the co host
every Saturday night, somebody in the Ariflota Arizona Athletic part
we was playing and losing. It was a week forget annual.
It was a weekly event here and yeah, it's a
half hour away. Ninth ranked Iowa stayed men's college hoops
is hosting number twenty two Arizona, So let's get it
ready for the wildcare. It's just over a week left
(22:48):
in the men's regular season and number one Auburn one
again led by fifteen at the half one at seventeenth
rank Kentucky ninety four to seventy eight. Kentucky senior guard
Jackson Robinson will have risk surgery. He is out for
the year. Number five Tennessee at home beat number six
Alabama seventy nine, seventy six and seventh thranks Saint John's
What a story this year beat Seaton Hall seventy one
(23:10):
sixty one. Saint John's clinches its first outright Big East
title since nineteen eighty five. And the team is eighteen
and zero at home and they had another sellout at
Madison Square Garden. Currently, final seconds of overtime at Vanderbilt,
Vandy leads number fourteen Missouri ninety seven to ninety three.
As for the NBA, Washington a winner at Charlotte one
(23:32):
thirteen to one hundred. That six straight losses for the Hornets.
Washington had entered with a record of ten and forty eight.
Detroit had won eight straight until Friday's loss to Denver.
Detroit winning big early third quarter Tonight at home Piston
seventy one forty seven over the Nets, just about to
start its Golden State winners of five straight at Philadelphia,
(23:53):
which is lost nine in a row. Jimmy Butler now
with the Warriors out tonight due to backspasms. Memphis is
under and hosting the Spurs out for the Grizzlies tonight,
job Morant shoulder and Desmond Baine hip. Donovan Mitchell of
the Calves is out on Sunday due to rest. The Lakers,
who've won five straight, play the Clippers again on Sunday night.
(24:13):
Austin Reeves of the Lakers doubtful for that one with
a stray calf. The San Francisco forty nine Ers will
be trading Deebo Samuel to Washington for a fifth rounder.
We say will because the deal cannot be official until
the first day of the new league year, which is
March the twelfth. A reminder, the IndyCar season begins Sunday,
with all seventeen races this season now on Fox TV,
(24:34):
including the Indy five hundred. In late May on Fox.
The season ends in August. NASCAR is also on Fox
TV Sunday. Tyler Reddick has earned the poll at the
road Course at Austin, Texas and Let's Talk Baseball as
Paul Skeins of the Pirates, the NL rookie of the
Year last season, struck out four in three innings today
in his spring debut. Pittsburgh with three runs in the ninth,
(24:55):
defeated Baltimore five to two. You might have heard about
the American League Rookie of the Year from last season.
Yankees pitcher Luis Hill stopped his bullpen session yesterday due
to shoulder tightness. They're not going to reveal the MRI
results until Sunday or Monday. They say the Yankees DH
Gencarlo Stan will start the season on the injured list
with elbow injuries plural. He got PRP injections in his
(25:15):
elbows this past week. Aaron Judge today hit a two
run single and the Yanks nine to three win over Houston.
The Yankee third baseman DJ Lemayhew left with a calf injury,
and the Dodgers do have Hessong Kim from South Korea
as their new second baseman. He homered. He's just two
and six in the spring, though, the second baseman they
traded away to the Reds, Gavin Lux, is just two
(25:36):
for twelve at the plate for Cincinnati. By the way,
Dodgers and Cubs opened the regular season this month in Tokyo.
Here it is March the first. Gods back to you.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Appreciate you, Steve. Thanks.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
A lot lot going on in sports again, man, today
this is just an awesome, awesome day. We normally don't
get this. It's March first, and we just normally don't
get this.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
VJ.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
Vernon Husky coming to you, guys love from thetiwright dot
com studios here great Los Angeles, Fox Sports Saturday and Fox
Vithty along with Arnie Seniors thinking genius, sitting in and
running the show at me today.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
I tell you.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Again that this quarterback carousel and I want to go
back to this about Stafford because I don't.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
I'm not good.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
I'm not gonna subscribe to what took so long. This
is the way these things work out.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Sometimes.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
It's so much better to take your time sometimes in
life than to try to rush into things. Now, even
with this debo trade, if I want to spin back
to that this happened fast. I did not expect this
this fast. I expected them to be traded this offseason,
but I thought we would at least get through Combine,
Pro Days and draft and then and maybe Draft weekend
(26:46):
or Draft day. So that's late April, right, The draft
I believe is April twenty sixth or twenty fourth or
twenty fifth or something. They push it all the way
back to almost May.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Now. I remember I grew up, you and I world
don't remember when the draft was like in March. It
was never.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
It was never that late, so I expected it then.
But it feels like Sam Franz looking to make some major,
major moves to make a trade like this this early,
and also to if you're the Rams, you get this
done early. So that now going into Pro Days, going
into the Combine, going into the draft. You know, the
(27:22):
one thing they don't need. They don't need a quarterback,
you know, you know, the one thing we don't have
to hear on local radio is the possibilities of Aaron
Rodgers or the possibilities of Kirk Cousins. Which one would
be better? Who do you want? We don't have to
worry about that. The two quarterbacks in this city who
are like very much in cover, are solidified and concrete
here for twenty twenty five. Herbert'll be here as long
(27:44):
as he wants. But the Matthew Stafford thing, I thought
it was smart. Get it done, and now you can
work on As I mentioned, Hey, I'm calling Cool. I'm saying, look,
I know you know there were some discussions about moving you,
but let's run this back one more year. Let's win
the division, Let's get a home playoff game, and let's
just and let's just see I mean, let's roll the
(28:05):
dice one more time. I signed Cool to maybe a
really friendly two year deal, make it really heavy, guaranteed
on the first year, and didn't make the second year,
maybe a team option, and it's essentially a one year deal.
Pay him, pay him Cool, paying for what he's done
for you. And then Bill and then Bill that, Well,
you got Pookah, you got Cool, you got Kyen Williams,
uh my man, Blake Horn, Michigan is gonna be back
(28:26):
from the broken forearm. You got Jared Versus defensive Player
Rookie of the Year. Like there's some there's some things.
There's some really good digs going on. In the RAMS
organization right now.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yeah, just the last thing off Stafford.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
For me is part of me thought there was like
a five percent chance he was going to say, you
know what, he was gonna sit down with his wife
and said, well, I've had a great career and I
know there's a lot of money on the table. His
wife went through a very very uh serious operation. I
mean Knockwood's, I mean serious. We're talking at any time
you operate into somebody's brain, it's some serious stuff. And
(29:00):
that was a lot of I'm sure anxious nights. He's
been through a lot. He is long in the tooth,
like you said, Pardoner, me thought he might just say,
you know what, I'm gonna retire. I have a great
life and we're going to enjoy some of the time
that we didn't have during those horrible years. But you know,
good for him, he got his money. I do want
to ask you, though, on the Deebo thing. Don't you
(29:21):
question why none of the other teams wanted to go
ahead and off for a fifth round pick for Deebo,
especially majorly on the hook for one year.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
And seventeen million.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
I know, you gotta get thirty one million in cap it,
but you know how guys can maneuver the numbers around him.
I'm sure by the end of the day it will
cost you ten cents. But why did nobody else want
to go for Deebo? Especially because if you didn't like
what he was doing, you can only have him for
one year and you could let him go and doesn't
cost you anything. So I'm surprised dirty some other teams
(29:53):
didn't want this guy.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
I that's hard for me to answer because I don't
believe thirty something other teams didn't want him. Well, when
these deals happened, we almost matter of fact, he said
the Texans were in the bidding those exact time.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
I use this example.
Speaker 6 (30:06):
Ian.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Remember when we were talking about Tom Brady a few
weeks ago, and my just my opinion was, I'm not
saying a ton of teams one of Tom. It was
just hard for me to believe that more than two
teams didn't want a six time Super Bowl champion who
had been to nine Super Bowls.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Well, the report was that, I get it, but that
doesn't mean that they weren't conversations somewhere like the guy's
too great for you to talk about. So I used
that as an analogy and an example with the debo thing,
I don't think that there were thirty other teams or
thirty one teams that wanted nothing to do with him.
I think San Francisco Binley took the deal that they
wanted a lot at all. Well, I mean, maybe Brady
(30:45):
think I.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Could see him saying, there's.
Speaker 4 (30:47):
Maybe some other teams, maybe some other teams Arnie weren't
even offering the fifth.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Maybe they took the best deal.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
Maybe there were teams in on him, but they just said, dude,
we already know you want to unload them, so we're
not gonna give you nothing in high form. If anybody
thought San Frean was getting a second or third, you
damn sure wasn't getting a first. But if anybody thought there, okay,
so if anybody thought you were gonna get a second
or third, so the best you would have done for
the fourth fifth is a fourth.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
No, but you could have You could have said, you
know what, I'll give you two fifth round picks, one
this year, one next year. You could have said, I
give you a fifth and a sixth round pick. There's
a lot of things you could have done, Especially a
fifth round pick is not only.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
I mean, Mike, you gotta think about what Debo and
his representative said when they got called and said, hey,
we got this deal from Washington.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
What if they said, Okay, cool, cut everybody else off.
I'm down. I'm down with moving to the Nation's Capitol.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
I'm down with moving back to the back, back to
the East Coast where I'm from, playing in South Carolina.
Back to the East Coast where I'm from, Nation's capitol. Oh,
you're gonna put me with a team that just went
twelve and five, number seven offense in the league, number
three rushing offense in football, this young quarterback? Oh you
got yeah, cut everybody off, send me there, Okay, no.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Problem, we'll get the deal done. It could have went
that way.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Well, Lookian Rappaport, Jordan Schultz, I don't want to go
all that on. You're my friend and were not at
a Starbucks, and that could have that could have been
the report.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
But we we do know this.
Speaker 5 (32:05):
They is a report saying that that was the most
aggressive offer, and I would figure there would have been
teams that would have given more than just just a
fifth round pick, especially because it was a one year
rento and you're paying seventeen million. I thought there'd actually
be a lot more people given, maybe a third or
fourth couple, fourth couple, fifth, but just one fifth front
(32:25):
pick seems like an absolute steal for me.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
But it is an absolute steel. But you said it
yourself though, Arnie earlier in the show, this wasn't one
of his shining years.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
It was Devios years. It was a mine.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Yeah, fifteen games, so I missed two games, but fifteen games.
So the whole injury theme people can't put on this year,
it's just a production.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Just put the tape on.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
Fifteen games, fifty one catches on, eighty one targets, six
hundred and seventy yards, thirteen.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Point one per hard only three touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
Yeah, so I'm not giving the farm away for a
guy that's gonna get me three touchdowns. Like that's that
you're you're you're really asking for You're asking for it
a lot.
Speaker 5 (33:07):
You're not trading. You're not trading for the guy that
gave you three touchdowns. You're trading for the guy that
gave you the three years before the three touchdouts. At
least sure, at least that's what I'm thinking.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
I don't know about you. He's just receiving yards. Listen,
I listen. I love Debo. Everybody that knows me knows
I love the guy. I've always loved the guy. That's
why I call him who Wants Some of Debo, which
is a playoff of the character from Friday a tiny
Lister rip to Big Debo who passed away a few
years ago. But when I when you look at it,
twenty twenty right, Okay, So in twenty twenty only seven games,
(33:36):
three ninety one. Then he had a thousand yard season
in twenty one fourteen to oh five. Then in twenty
twenty two six thirty two in thirteen games because of
the injuries, twenty twenty three two more games did he
missed only two more games. He missed only sixty catches
sixt eighty two, and in this year fifty one catches
six seventy.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
The production is going the opposite way.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
If I asked you to take over under seven hundred,
what are you doing for next year under?
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Now with that?
Speaker 4 (34:02):
With Daniels under under, with the under okay, we're putting
lunch on that.
Speaker 8 (34:08):
But you guys also got to remember he's twenty nine.
He just turned twenty.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Night no exactly, so he's not with that's like.
Speaker 8 (34:14):
Usually the age where they start to drop off.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
That's mostly for running backs. Then no, no, I'm with
Ian on that.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
But I just my only small rebuttal Ian is I
just stay times are different now, No, I think it's different.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
The way they trains different. It's his play style. It
he's a guy who's.
Speaker 5 (34:29):
Gonna run you, exactly, big, unbraded quarterback, big upgraded.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
But remember, coming into this past year, he had lost
a bunch of weight. This was supposed to be the
year he was gonna get back. He had lost a
bunch of weight because remember he was profile on receiver
on Netflix, so we we followed him all last season
and he talked about that. He felt that he was
too bulky, he was a little bigger, and he wanted
to he wanted to con to kind of trend out.
But you know, we'll put a cap on that.
Speaker 6 (34:53):
Man.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
We'll touch on some other things later on. We'll touch
on this as we hit on some other NFL topics
when we come up. We'll talk a little bit about
the combine. We'll talk a little bit more about some
of these other quarterbacks. What are gonna go Aaron Rodgers.
We know Matthew, Aaron Rodgers. We already know brock Perty's
working on the deal, Shador Sanders, cam dealing all.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
Those guys, Kirk Couzins and stuff. All that the more.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
But when we come back the new favorite segment here
on Fox Sports Saturday, on this show, man as we
got vej's top Power five NBA teams, all that the
more coming out Fox Sports Radio Saturday.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Please don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, Fox.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
Sports Saturday and Fox Sports Radio VJ, Brynon Husky and
my man Rnie Spaniard, the sticking Genius come to you
lockroatire Right dot Com Studios. And now, without further ado,
let's go with vj's Top five Power NBA Teams of
the Week.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Some changes here, man, y'all gonna be mad at me,
but I'm doing it. I don't care. I'm doing it.
At number five, they just won a in a row.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
I told you all back in October when we were
previewing the NBA that they would win between thirty nine
and forty three games and the playoffs. At number five,
I've pushed out them Houston Rockets, and I've added in
the thirty three and twenty seven Detroit Pistons.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
My beloved Pistons ain' in a row. Took a bad
loss at home to the Nuggets.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Right now, they're a live right now, they're up fourteen points,
seventy nine to sixty three. Hold on the Brooklyn Nets.
Put this team with BJ Bickerstaff with JB.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Excuse me, j B. Bickerstaff is doing this team.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
Moter K Cunningham is a Bona five super star and the.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Leader of the team.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
You gotta veterlate Tobias Jalen Duran in the post. Remember guys,
Ivy was averaging seventeen and six when he had a
season ending injury. Or they might be almost to the
forty win mark. Already sitting in the sixth seed. They
are all knotted up with the Bucks in the Pacers
for the fourth and the fifth seed. The Pistons can
get as high as the fourth seed. This is a
(36:50):
team that lost twenty nine games in a row just
last year to be able to flip this thing around. Hey,
Trajan Landen, VP of Basketball Operations, the Alaska Assassin out there, baby,
I appreciate you, homeboy. I covered them when they came
in and play the Lakers and on March eighteenth, and
a Sunday night, they'll be playing the Clippers in the tour.
I'll be there in person to watch out for this team.
(37:13):
And I'm telling you all right now making a big
boat prediction right now. Cut this, Marry, make sure you
save this. If the Pistons end up with the five
or higher seed, they are going to win a playoff.
Serious this season. Mark it down. This is where you
heard it first at number four. I'm gonna go with
those Denver Nuggets. I think that different Nuggets are starting
(37:33):
to make a little move right now, and I haven't
had them at all in my Power five at all,
but this is one of those teams. They've won before,
they know how to do it. They got a banner,
they've been to conference finals. It's hard to keep winning
every year, year in the year. That's why we love
the Kobe's and the Jordans and the Magics, and though
the Bill Russells and those guys over time that just
won all the time, and when they were winning, nobody
(37:55):
else got a chance to win. When they were winning,
day were was winning that nobody else was winning on
their watch. But the Nuggs just starting to kind of
find their groove right now. They're sitting at thirty nine
and twenty excuse me, thirty nine and twenty one. They're
in the number two seed in the Western Conference and
creeping up there. As far as being the team that
I think would be completely ready to battle the rest
of the Western Conference, I got them sitting at four,
(38:17):
number three.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Easy for me. Man, the Boston Celtics.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
I really do love watching this basketball team because you
could tell they know what's up.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
They're the defending champions.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
They're not worried about home court throughout the playoffs. Good
teams go and win on the road. I always love that.
I point out the fact. I love to tell your
point of the fact Michael Jordan has six championships. Guys
in the clinching games. Do you know Jordan clinch three
games in Chicago, any clinch three championships on the road,
split them?
Speaker 2 (38:42):
He didn't.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
You have to win on the road. If you're good,
you gotta win on the road. Kobe Bryant's first championship
without shock. It wasn't in LA when everybody would be
chatting and screaming and yelling and cheering and the confetti
falling down that I took from the game the other night,
took home to my daughter and she played with it
to three and four o'clock in the morning so much
that I bought it up through the transhkettals making too
much noise.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
He didn't do it.
Speaker 4 (39:02):
Then he did it on the road in Orlando. You
gotta close out teams on the road, and Boston knows
that they're not worried about the number one seed in
the East. If anybody needs that seed, it's gonna be
the Cleveland Cavaliers. Speaking of the Cleveland Cavaliers, that's my
number two team. They were number one last week. I'm
gonna drop them back down this week because the number
one team show me a little something. I watched them
a couple of times this week, but once again, love
this Cleveland Cavalier team. Love what they're doing with with
(39:25):
Donovan Mitchell, with Spider, love what they're doing with Allen
and with Darius Garland. They can score, they rebound, they
play defense, and they are very physical, up in your
face basketball squad. And then number one, it's the OKC
thunder Man. I know a lot of people are trying
to avoid this team, and people thinking if the Lakers
match up against them. If this team matches up against them,
let me tell you something. And they don't matter who
(39:46):
matches up against them. They got a bunch of guys
that could play. They got a bunch of guys that
could port them, but they put the biscuit in the basket,
including the guy that's probably gonna win the MVP.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
This year and s a g that right there are
a SGA.
Speaker 4 (39:58):
Excuse me that right there is my top five NBA
power I know where I'll beget to clock.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Arnie.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
I'll grab you at the top of the hour your
opinion before we talk about a comparison to two young
NBA stars that I want to bring to you, guys.
And with that being said, that's the first hour in
the books. Guys, we'll take a quick break. We'll be
right back, Arnie Spay or VJ Husky Fox Sports Saturday.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
Don't listening the Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
That's right.
Speaker 8 (40:23):
VJ.
Speaker 4 (40:23):

(40:45):
running point on a good Saturday night back east and
a good Saturday evening afternoon out here on the beautiful
West Coast.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
Arnie, just real quick.
Speaker 4 (40:53):
We ain't talking about a basketball segment, but I want
to throw something out there. Arny Ian told me, I
can bring this up. If you haven't seen my social
media over the last few nights, guys, I've been. You know,
everybody knows I covered the Lakers and the Clippers and
so Cal Sports out here. So after the game the
other night, they had a back to back, so normally
when they have back to backs, they're not going to
rush to break the court down because they have to
(41:14):
share the arena with the Kings.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
So they leave the court up and they it.
Speaker 4 (41:17):
Was Genie Buss was there, the Boss Lady was there,
Netflix was there, celebrities crazy at former players, Kat was there.
Speaker 8 (41:24):
It was it was.
Speaker 4 (41:25):
It was a beautiful night. So afterwards we're out on
the court and we do our postgame press conference with
JJ Reddick, and then we head out to the court
to do our court side post game recording for other
networks that I'm working for.
Speaker 2 (41:37):
Right now too.
Speaker 4 (41:38):
And they're letting people shoot around on the court, and
there's a ball that rolls off to the left right
by me. My photographer Nicole goes, go get that ball.
You better go get that ball and take a shot.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
You better do it.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
And I'm looking around because the guy's counting down for
everybody to get off the cart on the side.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Go over there and I pick it up.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
One dribble, spin, shoot Kobe, like Kobe said, elbow to
the splash, Shola at the buzzer. The guy you can
hear in the background counting down three, two, one for
everybody to get off the court. You know, it's the
end of the fun for the night, guys. Everybody's got
to go home. You ain't got to go home, but
you got to get the hell out of here. Comedo
and Rich who are favorite guys. Man, I've been listening
(42:18):
to those guys for fifteen sixteen years, all the way
back when they were back on series.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
Sillite Radio and ESPN had the nerve.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
To put a pole took my video and put a
poll on the internet and acts was it edited or
first time, first attempt?
Speaker 2 (42:35):
How many attempts did it take?
Speaker 4 (42:37):
Danny Jeter, producer, text my phone yesterday he goes, bro
call the studio live right now, Call live right now.
They want to bring this out. They want to talk
to you. Let me let you all in on a
little something. Okay, I am more than just a comedian
and a writer and a producer. I've done acting. I've
done theater work, radio, cover games, all that. Like all
(42:58):
the stuff people say on my social media, Arnie, I
know you still play ball. You've posted your videos when
you hit a little fade away, little baseline jumpy and.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
I propped you up.
Speaker 4 (43:07):
I said, hey, Arnie, I still see you got that
little jumpy left. But the simple fact that people are
questioning my skills set when it comes to sports. I've
always had a jump shot. I had a jump shot
in high school. I can't dribble much. I'm a too
dribble guy, and I'm giving it up. If I can't
make a movie, get a shot off. Okay, it's going
back to the guard who gave me the ball. But
(43:29):
I could always shoot, man. I just thought it was hilarious.
How nobody could just say, hey, nice shot. V Hey,
that's dope, big vanilla, I see over here. Everybody had
to run.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
To Is it editing? How many times did he take.
Speaker 4 (43:42):
So to my guys, Covinio Ridge, y'all know I love
y'all man, y'all know that you guys have had me
come in on your show and do football topics and previews.
If anybody in Fox Sports Radio land that works here
wants to have a shooting contest against me, all you
got to do is let me know any day, any court, outdoor, indoor, anywhere,
(44:05):
and I'll tear y'all ass up. I don't care who
it is. Anybody from Fox Sports Radio was to shoot
against VJ. We're gonna record it. We'll put it out there.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Let's do it. Wow, look at you challenging. I know
to anybody he did. I did see your video. I
did see your shot. You had good form on there.
It was great form. It was great form.
Speaker 5 (44:24):
I was thinking maybe the jacket may have hindered you
a little bit, but you still made the shot.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
But that's the day, No, Arnie, I had a custom
blazer on. I had a custom Armoni blazer On and
still took an NBA range three pointer.
Speaker 5 (44:37):
Hey, I don't usually play with Armani blazer On. And
as as for Covino and rich there's one thing I
want to say about those guys. I I don't believe
they place they've ever played sports. Who have you ever
seen those guys. There's there's not a scratch.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
On their face.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
They have no scars, no broken fingers. Seriously, there's not
a hair out of play.
Speaker 8 (44:59):
So, Arnie, has Tom Rady ever played sports?
Speaker 5 (45:01):
Well, he's look at his fingers, they're all like mauled up.
Speaker 4 (45:05):
If you look at Tom Brady's hand, fingers, his fingers, go,
I met him at a RAM game. It doesn't look bad. Bro,
He's gorgeous. He's good in the face. He's fine there.
Speaker 2 (45:17):
But yeah, they're not hitting him in the face fingers,
you know, rich I know if.
Speaker 5 (45:21):
They want to say we were international models, Oh yeah,
I believe that.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Yeah, I can believe that. Playing sports no international models.
I get one of them looks like Ronaldo.
Speaker 5 (45:33):
I thought it was Ronaldo for the first five years,
I thought it was Richard Ronald though, Like, how did
they get Ronaldo?
Speaker 6 (45:41):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (45:41):
Yeah, guys, look make sure they ain't hearing his I
want to make sure those guys here.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
But yes, my challenge is real. So anybody out there
want to talk some I get it's all in good fun.
That's cool, but now fun. I don't play for fun.
I played for elbows and for real. No, no, I'm
talking about them talking. You know, people saying what's my shot?
Speaker 6 (45:58):
Like?
Speaker 2 (45:58):
You know, was it edited?
Speaker 4 (46:00):
Even one of my homegirls from back he said, yeah,
the haters will saying it this editive. He's I said,
they can say what they want to say. My camera,
my camera girl did a perfect job following the track
of the ball. There's no other ball in the area,
in the air, it's my ball. Swish, no rim Steph
Curry style once again in a custom or Moni suit jacket.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
I didn't even take the suit jacket off.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
One of my boys tweeted me and said, I knew
it was serious when he took the peaky rin golf
because I did take off my peaky diamond ring to
put it in my pocket because I didn't want it
to fly off when I took the shot.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
So and I know you take your shots to Arny.
Speaker 4 (46:33):
I know you're playing the men's league like an over
sixty five men's basketball league.
Speaker 5 (46:37):
I played in the over twenty one with not over
sixty five over sixty five.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
Get all right, man, so let's keep it with basketball, Arnie.
I'm gonna propose a question to you, and I want
you to jump in on this too. Man, I think
you would have something good on this. Next five years
you start your franchise, you have a choice between Anthony
Edwards and Motor Cunningham.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
Who are you taking? Well? Are you asking me? I'm
asking you.
Speaker 5 (47:05):
I'm asking you right up the well, not me making
either one of them my number one. But if you
gotta chase, so you have to, I'm gonna take one
of them. I'm gonna tell you who I want between
the two, but neither one of them is gonna be
my number one. I I I'm gonna obviously pair them
with somebody else and and make that person my number one.
And these guys are gonna be my number two for
that reason. I only give you that answer for that
(47:26):
reason alone. But you're gonna get the same points per game. Actually,
I think Edwards averages a little bit more because he
doesn't have as much around them. I think it takes
more shots than Kate and there are about equal rebounds.
Kate does a much better job, much better job, much
better job on this You can have the ball and
sharing it with his team asist at much better job.
(47:48):
They both shoot the same. As a matter of fact,
I think Edward's a little bit better on three point line.
But for that reason alone, that's why I'm gonna have
Kate on my team. Plays better with I'm gonna get
another superstar and I'm gonna put them one two and
I'll feel good about my team for the future.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
So I'm gonna go with Kate and and look nothing
against Anthony Edwards.
Speaker 5 (48:08):
But for some reason, I don't know what it is VJ.
I can't put my finger on it. It's like he's
mad about something.
Speaker 7 (48:17):
He's he's.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
It's something about some stuff going on.
Speaker 5 (48:25):
It just it just feels like he's not in the
right place, like he's not happy right now. And I'm
not sure what's really good. I know, I know it's
a tough year, but it it just it he's just
not happy now, and I don't want to be the
face of the NBA.
Speaker 2 (48:39):
That's fine.
Speaker 5 (48:40):
Other players have said that too. It's just something not
right about him. I'm gonna go with Kate with my pick.
Speaker 8 (48:48):
I'm gonna go with you know, I was about to
say Kate, but I just I just had a flashback
of Anthony Edwards in the playoffs last year. I just
think he has that that it factor, you know, and
it's it's I wish I could do a better job
explaining it than that, but just in sports, some guys just.
Speaker 2 (49:04):
Hard to explain it factor. You're fine, yes, yeah, And maybe.
Speaker 8 (49:07):
I haven't watched enough kid, because I'm sure there's Pistons
fans yelling at their radio right now telling me that
Caid has that too. But just something I've seen it
in the playoffs with Anthony Edwards until i've seen it
in the playoffs from Caid cunning him.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
And you know what, I'm not mad at that.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
You're right, you gotta do it in the in the postseason,
even if you don't get to the finals. They got
to the conference finals last year and it did get
on fire. I thought ant ran out of gas. Thought
he even admitted that day he ran out of gas.
Of there's a conditioning thing there, because that's always been
my knock against Jimmy Butler, right That's always been my
knock against Jimmy Butler's. You guys could tell me how
great he is. Why is he always out of gas
at the end of the year. You can't be out
(49:43):
of gas at the end of the year. Beat a
guy and think that I'm want to hitch my wagon
to you winning the NBA championship for me, this is easy.
Speaker 2 (49:50):
This isn't really close. I think this is a very
legitimate question. Guys.
Speaker 4 (49:55):
They're both in year four and five, okay, And I'll
give more, even more numbers than Arnie. If you even
look at just the shooting. Over Caid's first four years,
his shooting percentage has gone from forty one, forty one,
forty four to forty six, which means it's improving. Three
point percentage thirty one twenty seven a year. Twenty seven
is the year he got hurt, missed a lot of games,
thirty five thirty six. His assists are growing every year
(50:16):
five six, seven, nine and a half. His points per
game have grown every year seventeen, twenty, twenty two, and
twenty six.
Speaker 2 (50:23):
He's twenty six, six and nine with a steal so
he plays defense.
Speaker 4 (50:28):
Eighty five percent from the free throw line, and forty
six percent from the field, averaging thirty five minutes a night.
You talk about Anthony Edwards, and I said this last year.
Anthony Edwards to me can either be Dwayne Wade or
he can be Brandon roy And already I know you
remember Brandon Rumsor there's some listeners right now who Yes,
(50:51):
Brandon Tonio later on, absolutely, but ended up having some
of the news stuff.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
Big boy. Probably a great career exactly, but.
Speaker 4 (51:00):
You never did you ever really look at him and
think he could be the bush driver to win you
a championship.
Speaker 5 (51:07):
No, because Portland he was put in that role. He
never should have been in that role. He's he's the
number two guy. He was the number three guy. Really
what he was he was the one guy in Portland.
He was he was the number one guy. He never
should have been put in that position. He's more of
a number two guy and that's where he should have
been used, especially after his injury. But he was certainly
a great player, no doubt about that.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
I I have yeah problem, so and so is Antho.
And I'm at the game the other night. So I'm
at the game.
Speaker 4 (51:34):
I'm covering the Lakers and the Warriors, excuse me, Wolves,
and he gets kicked out of that game, which which
I didn't think he deserved to get kicked out, and
neither did a lot of the media. That was the
big question in the back tunnels of Crypto the other
night is we're trying to figure out exactly why, uh,
he was thrown out of the game, thrown out of
the game, and it's like he got thrown out of
(51:54):
the game. He didn't even heard about that. Yeah, he
didn't even say anything. He got because he was holding
the ball. Where if he's hold in the ball, If
he's holding the ball, that's a team technical delay a game.
That's a team technical. It's not a technical needs to
go do individual player And he got kicked out of
the game. But I will tell you this, you're you're
onto something about the way his body language is, in
the way he's moving. And I know you're not into
(52:15):
much of the off the court pop culture athletes stuff.
Sarching with a lot of these young guys, and I'm
not gonna sit here and put the man's business out there.
I'll just say he's got a lot going on and
if people want to research it, you could go look
it up on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
You can go look it up on the internet. Oh
I think, no, no, no, he's got a lot of
he's got a lot of.
Speaker 4 (52:30):
Stuff going on at the court, and sometimes that can
play until young guys. But the other night I'm doing
notes watching the game. One of my notes that I
did write down that I think it was like the
two minute mark of the second quarter, he'd only taken
six shots. And in the game where you don't have
Julius Randall and you don't have Rudy Gobert, you you
would think that he would, you know, he would, you know,
(52:53):
he would jump out there, right, he would. He would
try to get out there and and and be the leader.
And he was three for cent cause I got it
right here at the two minute mark, three for six
from the field at about the three minute market in
the second quarter.
Speaker 2 (53:06):
He just pounished exactly.
Speaker 4 (53:08):
And they weren't blitzing him, they weren't trying to get
the ball out of his hands. He just wasn't taking shots.
He just wasn't involved. He just didn't seem locked in.
So I do think there's something there. But all that aside,
I'm just looking at the two players. I said last
year that if they were gonna move on from Cat.
I would be weary of that decision because if you
move on from Cat, you were essentially telling Edwards he
(53:29):
is the franchise guy, and he wasn't the franchise guy
when he got drafted there.
Speaker 2 (53:34):
It was still Cat's team on them made the trade.
Speaker 5 (53:37):
If you were Minnesota, no the Luca trade, because they
they turned it down, you wouldn't have made the Luca trade.
Speaker 2 (53:41):
Uh man, Well, the thing is if you made the
Luca trade, who are they gonna trade? Were gonna trade
after they Edwards for Luca?
Speaker 4 (53:49):
If I'm Minnesota, no, yeah, no, no, listen, quick sidebar
before we go to break here. I think the Luca
trade is gonna blow up. I like I said, I've
been at every game since he's been here. It's up
and down games.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
He's on some game. The other night he was one
of nine from three, he was like two, two of sixteen.
He didn't play well.
Speaker 4 (54:06):
But then he comes back on the back to back
against the Clippers and he has thirty one. We'll see
how he plays tomorrow night. I'll be in Crypto tomorrow
night court side. I'll be in the press box watching
the game, covering the game. Like I do.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
We'll see how he plays.
Speaker 4 (54:16):
It's it's too up and down for me right now,
and I just don't know how that's gonna play out.
Also to Austin Reeves day to day with a calf strain,
who had a cap strained back on Christmas Day and
calls in him as two months Luka doncinz.
Speaker 2 (54:29):
So cap strains are nothing that you want to mess
with this day.
Speaker 4 (54:32):
This day could go south. I'm telling you, man, this
thing could go south for the Lakers really fast.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
I hope not.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
I hope they have a nice playoff run. I get
to go to the games and cover and watch for
the NBA basketball, so I hope they dud. Dude, I
hope they have a deep run. I would love to
get if they went to the finals. It wouldn't bother me.
I'm not a Laker hater. They got to the finals,
I would love it. That means I'm covering the finals.
My second year covering the NBA. I get blessed to
cover the finals.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
So I'm not fun. It was a good year. It's
a fun team to cover. Man energy in the stadium
is nice.
Speaker 4 (55:02):
But back to the main topic herefore, we just break
off real quick, gim me k Cunningham distributes the ball better,
He's a better defender. And when he got drafted, he
knew he was the guy and he's done nothing but
be the guy. When Ant got drafted, it was still
Cat's team, and then they moved on from Cat, and
then you it's like, okay, just overnight, now I'm the guy.
(55:22):
You know what I'm saying. I just think there's a
different dynamic. Like when the Heat drafted Wade Wade new
going in, I'm the guy.
Speaker 2 (55:29):
There was nobody there. They drafted him to be the guy.
Speaker 4 (55:32):
They know Ant was drafted to kind of add to
what they had, and that kind of gets thrown in
your face wind or blows up when they then trade
who was the perceived franchise guy and Karl Anthony Towns
he moves on. Now it's in your hands and it's showing.
They're sitting in the seventh eighth seed right now. We
did not expect that from Minnesota after the conference finals.
(55:54):
But we'll touch a little more on that as the
show goes on. Be sure to check out Fox Sports
Ready on YouTube. There is tons of great videos from
our Fox Sports radio shows, your shirts, Fox Sports Radio
on YouTube and you'll see a whole bunch of video
highlights from our shows, and be sure to subscribe so
you're always have instant access to all the Fox Sports
(56:15):
Radio videos on YouTube, Fox Sports Saturday, Fox Sports Radio
VJ Vernon Husky and with my man Arnie Speyers Stinking
gens at Big Vanilla, Funny, great show so far today, man,
some good NFL late breaking news with trades with Deebo
Samuel moving on fran San Francisco to the Commanders. Yesterday,
(56:37):
the breaking news was that Matthew Stafford was restructuring his
deal to stay here in Los Angeles with the Rams
for at least another year and maybe beyond. Who knows,
Maybe the guy wants to play a couple more years. Man,
that's beautiful out here. We'll come to you lot from
the Ti Ride dot Com studios and don't forget hit
us up much your two cents on X Arnie.
Speaker 2 (56:56):
You gotta even want a real quick before we go
this lebron topic.
Speaker 4 (56:58):
Buddy from the tweet saying, yeah, any tweets you want
to say. I love the guy who said he was
listening for fifteen minutes and I finally let you talk
and I responded, that's not true because most segments are
only twelve So no, it.
Speaker 2 (57:11):
Was thirty minutes. No, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.
I know you love your kid, and I want to
read this one from JFC.
Speaker 5 (57:19):
That's a sticking genius. I was listening to you on
Serious Radio about the debo trade. I guess they're picking
us up on Serious tonight about the commanders and they
need to add on offense. I agree with you that
they need a running game, which means they should draft
the running back. You can't have your quarterback running like
they did. And I know you said when you when
you said they had the third most rushing yards, that
caught me by surprise. It shouldn't have because with their
(57:41):
quarterback putting up that many yards.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
But I can't have him running. I'll say it again, VJ.
Speaker 5 (57:46):
I'm not gonna have him running and putting himself in
risk like that, especially now that I've got debo. I
have weapons around them. Maybe on those third down and
sixes where everybody's covered and we need that first down,
but he's not gonna run nearly as much as he
was putting up last year.
Speaker 2 (58:02):
That's cool. I just looked at the numbers. Man, I
just put to take the third.
Speaker 4 (58:06):
They're their third rushing Brian Dog, Brian Robinson was running
his ass off. The kid, the kid that got shot
from Alabama, right like when he come on, he is
a bona fide RB one, He's a bona.
Speaker 2 (58:17):
Fide starting NFL running back there. I think they're fine there.
Speaker 4 (58:21):
If he wants to draft one, I mean, what are
you drafting second or third round running back?
Speaker 2 (58:24):
We'll see what are you gonna get? A scataboo scatabo
He's not bad either, Arizona State, right, I mean, he's
not bad. But I just thinking in the NFL. You
know that, I know what Mike all Stock looks like.
Speaker 4 (58:34):
I've already I've already seen Peyton hillis, Like, I've seen
that type of running back. It's just it's not sustainable.
It just never was and it never will be. The
days of John Riggins, who I grew.
Speaker 2 (58:46):
Quarterback.
Speaker 4 (58:48):
Yeah with the quarter quarterback like, no, you gotta be
a lot faster than that. All right, Uh, let's talk
Lebron topic. And I'm gonna let you run with this
one man, because I say enough about Lebron.
Speaker 2 (58:56):
But I didn't never ask to be the face of the.
Speaker 5 (59:02):
You have the floor, then well, look I saw what
he had to say. I do think that the media
is hard on him from time to time.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
What you've said, you have the finu on that you've
said that.
Speaker 5 (59:14):
Yeah, I do think that we look for little things
to pick on him. The guy has been exemplary for
his whole career. There's been no you know, off the
court problems. No, you know, I'm not even gonna make up,
you know, say well what about this?
Speaker 2 (59:29):
There's been no problems. Okay, We've disagreed with his.
Speaker 5 (59:33):
Politics, and you know, I've heard people say, you know
what about the spray painting on his garage?
Speaker 2 (59:38):
Is that really true? You know, and stuff like that.
Speaker 5 (59:42):
But otherwise he's been really great for the NBA in
so many different ways. With that being said, I do
hate the way he plays victim all the time and
the way he does have an agenda.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
He does try to control everything and he has to
learn he can't. You just can't do it.
Speaker 5 (59:59):
If people are gonna say bad things about you, then
they're gonna say bad things about you, and there's nothing
you can do. The athletes of old did not have
such a thin skin. Like the athletes now. But media
is so prevalent right now, VJ. If it's not radio, Twitter, Facebook,
not and on and on and you know what I'm
(01:00:21):
talking about it all of it. Really, it's it's mostly Twitter, though,
especially when it comes to these athletes, and that's where
it eats them up. I understand why Lebron's getting mad,
but you know, just backpedal a little bit, enjoy the
run you're on right now.
Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
With Luca and worry about the season.
Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
I don't understand why you're talking about Anthony Edwards and
be in the face of the league and media craping
on people like that. I don't know how that gets
started from from you know, your little run.
Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
Right now, VJ. Yeah, my, the way I view that is.
Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
And look, Lebron just always feels like he wants to
be cool, like he just like remember when Lebron didn't swear,
and like now.
Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
It's like he swears just all the time.
Speaker 4 (01:01:06):
It's like, I because it's cool to curse, right, It's
cool to drop f bombs, It's cool to say these things.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
No, it's actually not. You know, it actually cost them
on endorsement.
Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
I forget which one it was, but it was the
car that the key to one I believe it was,
or there was a there was a car endorsem. It's
just like they're like, no, no, thanks, buddy, we get
it you, Lebron. But it just felt of wine to
the game exactly. That's just another example of Oh, let
make Sean like how cool I am because I can
walk in with a glass of wine and I'm cultured right,
and it's like, I get it, bro, I love one.
(01:01:36):
I love a good mall back from Argentina. I love
a good kyante from Italy or from Francois.
Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
I love red wine too, but I have a good
mad dog twenty twenty. Now listen, are you drinking orange?
Are you drinking orange? Drew Bilee or you drink a
great crush? Which one you drinking? That's that's liquid drugs
right there. You better put that stuff down.
Speaker 4 (01:01:54):
But it just feels like even bringing up like you said,
even bringing them Anthony Edward's name and calling them the
face of it thely Lebron did this when he went
the All Star Weekend once and said that the Oklahoma
City front office was the v was the MVP front office.
You know, type of deal. He just has these moments
where like he wants to be everybody's friend. Like everybody
he DAPs up. There's this big, overly laugh and hug
(01:02:17):
and covering your mouth. Dude, what you're saying is not
that important that you have to cover your mouth all
the time. And it also just feels like, let me
just keep myself relevant, let me keep talking about myself,
let me keep bringing things up. You can say all
you want. You never asked to be the face of
the league. We know that's a lie. You shot to
be the face of the league. The league shot the
movie to be the face of the league. When Kobe
(01:02:38):
had his incident. It was gonna be Kobe's league. When
Kobe had his incident, Lebron's the next guy inline and
he jumped the line. And it's been that way ever since.
I don't mind the narcissist stuff. I don't mind the
the you know, hey, look at me, because I think
there's a lot of athletes in today's world that moved
that way. And once again, part of it is our fault,
because we're the ones that sit behind the mics. We're
(01:03:00):
the ones that talk about it, we're the ones that
write about it. We're the ones that do our video
content and all the stuff about it. So you can't
really help that these guys want the attention if we're
going to continue to give them the attention. So I
I didn't take much from it. It was just more
or less like, Okay, that's that's just Lebron.
Speaker 5 (01:03:18):
You could want the attention VJ, but you don't have
to go ahead and have that attitude. There's been a
lot of athletes that are very pleasant to deal with. Sure,
I know there's gonna be days where you're catching them
on bad days and.
Speaker 4 (01:03:32):
You know they're just they're just or they just don't
want to they just want to they just don't want
to deal with it, or they're the.
Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
Bad mood, whatever it is. It's just every everybody's human.
Speaker 5 (01:03:41):
But nowadays athletes are just almost intolerable, uh, compared the
back of the day. They just they just have an agenda,
seems like most of them, and it's just it's got
to be tough to cover them because you really don't
want to get the matter have.
Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
Them attack to Very true, very true. We'll spend this
back up there on the on the other back side
of this right there. But I tell you, somebody else
that I I don't mind talking to it. I know
love talking to everybody else. And he's never gonna attack you.
And that's the best update guy in the business, our guy,
Steve the Saga here, Steve Lot going on the Warriors.
What Hello, no NB for the season? They can't go
(01:04:17):
get this dumb Steve, what's happening?
Speaker 7 (01:04:18):
Did you just say I'm not gonna attack Arnie?
Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
Yeah? Oh never mind, I lie. My team's already losing high.
I got clobber to say, Steve, you know.
Speaker 5 (01:04:26):
My bad fri' Steve film, My team's getting clabbered to
Saga's right.
Speaker 7 (01:04:31):
Usually this is Arizona basketball and this is Arizona football,
but actually, so far tonight this is Arizona basketball. They
are trailing at what eighteen eleven now at ninth ranked
Iowa State, Arizona ranked twenty second in the country. We'll
have more college hoops on the men's side in a bit,

Golden State. Going into their game at Philly tonight, Philadelphia
leads late first half fifty five to forty eight, even
though Steph Curry has fourteen points. Jimmy Butler now with
the Warriors out tonight with backspasms. If he didn't hear yesterday,
(01:05:36):
Joel Embiid will miss the rest of the season for
Philly due to his bad knee. He had a series
of tests this past week has been deemed medically unable
to play. The seventy seven foot turned thirty one and
a couple of weeks he will and in his NBA career,
he's averaged twenty eight points eleven rebounds a game, and
NB once League MVP only two years ago. Washington got

sixty one late second quarter Kyrie Irving for Dallas fourteen
in the first half so far. As for the men's
college troops, just over a week left in the men's
regular season, Number one Auburn won again today, this time
(01:06:43):
at Kentucky, ninety four to seventy eight. Victories in the
top ten for Duke Houston for Saint John's, which clinches
its first outright regular season Biggies title since nineteen eighty five.
Tenths rank Texas Tech one at Kansas seventy eight to
seventy three three. Currently it is number three Florida with
a halftime lead against twelfth ranked Texas A and M
(01:07:05):
forty five thirty four. Number five Tennessee beat number six
ranked Alabama on a three pointer at the Buzzers seventy
nine seventy six of alls, trailed by nine points with
ten minutes to go. Vanderbilt in overtime defeated number fourteen
Missouri ninety seven to ninety three. Vandy had tied it
on a three pointer late in regulation. Wins for Clemson
(01:07:26):
and Louisville, wins for Mississippi State and Maryland. And as
far as spring training baseball, Detroit held Philadelphia to one
hit today at a one nothing victory. It was the
Phillies backups as the lineup and they went one for
twenty eight with twelve strikeouts, so time of the game
was only two oh five. Atlanta tide Toronto one to one.
(01:07:47):
Yes tied. It's spring training. A note that the IndyCar
season begins Sunday. A reminder with all seventeen races this
season now on Fox TV that includes the Indy five
hundred on Fox in late May. NASCAR is also on
Fox TV Sunday Sunday at Tyler Reddick has earned the
poll and that'll be at the road course at Austin, Texas.
Speaker 5 (01:08:07):
Pect you, by the way, guys, real quick, my prediction
about say, I know you didn't watch you into the
Kentucky game.
Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
How do I know that?
Speaker 5 (01:08:13):
Because nobody watched you into the last ten technical difficulties. Yeah,
I'm calling bs on that they were getting their butts
kicked by Auburn. Some some mad Kentucky fan hit the
button or did something and didn't put the gap. Telling
you that something your feet in twenty twenty five, your
feet goes out for a half hour.
Speaker 7 (01:08:33):
They started outing hockey instead of the Auburn Kentucky bad.
Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
Don't believe it. I can't wait till we find out
the truth.
Speaker 7 (01:08:39):
I don't believe it because this is how things were
going for Kentucky.
Speaker 5 (01:08:44):
Yeah, I'm telling you somebody pressed the button and said
we're not showing the game.
Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
I love when I'm not the only conspiracy theorist at
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
Twenty twenty five. You can't get the game.
Speaker 7 (01:08:54):
It's like the Airplane movie when the guy just pulls
the cord and he's holding.
Speaker 2 (01:08:59):
I just airplay late two weeks ago at like three
in the morning. I just watched that movie. I love
it man. Thanks a lost. They appreciate you, brother.
Speaker 4 (01:09:06):

Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
I wanted to talk Kelsey. I'm gonna push that back
because this in b thing.
Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
It's in I just what do you do if you're Philly.
He's now done for the year. He has missed more
games than he's played. You have got you have really
tried to put talent around him.
Speaker 5 (01:09:50):
They have.
Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
They had Ben Simmons, you had James Harden, you had
Jimmy Butler.
Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
Now and now you signed PG and he signed PG
to a huge over two hre million dollars contract.
Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
He's missed more games than he plays Arnie.
Speaker 4 (01:10:02):
If you're Philly, don't you at twenty and thirty eight,
twenty eight in the games out, twenty eight and a
half games out, twelfth seed? Do you just mail this
thing in and blow I'm talking when I say blow
it up. I might call around and see who wants
Paul George in the offseason. Oh, that's a definite.
Speaker 5 (01:10:20):
As for Joe ol Embiid, I'm hearing maybe it's an
emergency retirement.
Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
Look, I don't know about the.
Speaker 5 (01:10:27):
Whole financial situations.
Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:10:30):
Whatever works out best for Philadelphia financially is what I'm doing.
Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
If I've got to trade him for nothing, if I
got to cut.
Speaker 5 (01:10:38):
Him, if I've got to use an emergency situation, if
I have to assume they had insurance like the Gooyd
to London thing, of course, I.
Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
Have to say.
Speaker 5 (01:10:47):
He's not nearly what we expected when we signed him.
He's not gonna play.
Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
He's too herd. We need to talk about insurance. Whatever
it is.
Speaker 5 (01:10:55):
I don't want him playing for Philadelphia again. If I'm Philadelphia,
I'm letting him go.
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
Oh I'm cutting him. I'm saying goodbye, trading him.
Speaker 5 (01:11:02):
Whatever I have to do. It's time to move on
from Joel Embiid and that whole situation. It's completely toxic
and you have to rebuild from the from the ground up.
Speaker 4 (01:11:12):
That's what you gotta do with jo I'm assuming so
Maxie would be, you know, your lead guy, that that'd
be your one. You got Kelly, Kelly o'bray junior, and
then you know where I mean?
Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
You got PG?
Speaker 6 (01:11:25):
Are you?
Speaker 8 (01:11:25):
Are you?
Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
Are you sticking with PG?
Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
Are you some way somehow trying to get PG out
of there and get him off those books too?
Speaker 5 (01:11:33):
No, I'd like to get him off the books. I
don't know anybody who's gonna want to take him. I
doesn't have a ech he can exercise in next year
for like a gazillion dollars or something like that, I know,
like sixty million or fifty five million, whatever it is.
I'm just getting sick to my stomach even thinking that
I would have to pay him that type of money.
I wouldn't imagine a lot of teams that are gonna
(01:11:54):
want to go ahead and pay that for Paul George,
especially with the amount of games that he's put in
there right now. So my answers, no, I would love
to get rid of them. I don't think anybody's going
to be able to do that. The Joe I'm building,
the seventy six ers could petition for medical retirement for
Joe on biid if he's unable to play a year
(01:12:15):
from now. So that's I'm sorry. I just wanted to
make sure that's the way that you have to have
an independent doctor and that's selected by the NBA and
the NBA Players Association, and then he would get examined.
Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
Hmmm. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:12:29):
And if I'm Philly, I mailed his whole I blow
it up. I blow this thing up with a claymore
mind and about twenty sticks of dynamite. I'm I'm talking
everybody but Harris Maxi is on the table. Everybody can go.
You've got to reset this thing. You remember how this
all started, and trust the process stuff, right, remember how
this started.
Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
I just wanted to throw one more thing.
Speaker 5 (01:12:50):
If he can no longer play, his remaining contract will
be wiped off the books for Philadelphia completely.
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
So think about that.
Speaker 5 (01:12:59):
If I'm the whole contract is wiped off the books completely,
if he's unable to play for up to a year.
Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
So so so, now so, now you got shenanigans that
could come into play.
Speaker 5 (01:13:11):
Maybe you got to keep him and make sure he
doesn't play for a year, right, right.
Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
Right, I was gonna say, now you got Shenanigans coming
into the play, because remember this is a business, right,
this is a money pack exactly if I'm running the business,
It's like, hey, buddy, I ain't got to look out
for you because you haven't looked out for us. We've
paid you, We've brought players in, we've coddled you. Yeah,
you won an MVP. Great, We've gotten to not one finals,
(01:13:36):
We've gotten to one conference finals. And Kawhi Leonard had
shot a ball in game seven that bounced around thirty
seven times before it went through the hoop to send
them off to the finals. It's just it's never materializing.
Once again, I point out remember this this was a
trust the process. Remember they drafted markl fall God, I.
Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
Forget the kids name. They messed up his jump shot
out of Washington.
Speaker 4 (01:13:58):
That was mar Folks alright out of the matha from
the DNV from the WCAC conference that I grew up
in in high school back East. And like Ben Simmons, folks,
like they they have tried. This thing has not brought
in Doc Rivers to coach. This thing has not worked out.
You've got to put a clay more mind on both
(01:14:19):
sides of this thing in about thirty seven sticks of
dynamite and blow this thing.
Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
Up and just start from scratch. You have to start
from scratch.
Speaker 4 (01:14:29):
And I'm telling you watch watch out now for any
type of Shenan against the where well, if he doesn't play,
we don't have to pay this or that or this
gets wiped off. Let's let's make sure we keep we
keep Ohio on that stuff. We had questions during football season.
I remember there was the court of Cooper Rush. If
(01:14:49):
Cooper Rush had to played and got a certain amount
of percentage plays, Dallas was gonna have to owe him
a certain amount of money.
Speaker 6 (01:14:56):
What they do?
Speaker 4 (01:14:56):
They started Trey Lance like franchises do the stuff people
they do because it's a business.
Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
At the end of the day, Man, think how much
money they saved too. I don't know what else. It's
a bowload of money, man. I'll tell you this.
Speaker 4 (01:15:09):
Man, We'll take a quick break, and what I'm excited
for is the best game all Sports Talk radio. When
we come back, man, Arnie and VJ for another episode
of Who you got Fox Sports Saturday, Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
Fox Sports Saturday or Fox Sports Radio. VJ.
Speaker 4 (01:15:24):
Vernerhus get Bigvanilla, Funny Arnie Spayers thinking genius and right
now you're coming to you live from the tire Right
dot Com Studios.
Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
And now for the game of games.
Speaker 4 (01:15:33):
My favorite part of the show, One of my favorite
parts of our show is another episode of Who You Got?
Speaker 8 (01:15:38):
Okay, who you Got? We got another NBA edition this week.
So any player in NBA history is fair game here.
I am thinking of one, just one that's that's out
of a big Broadley No y could Dara all right?
If either of those were right, though, that would have
been right, outstandingly impressive. Let's go, all right, So each
clue is supposed to help narrow it down and eventually,
(01:16:00):
by the last clue, hopefully you guys will get back
number one. This guy was a first round draft pick,
so keeping.
Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
A broad for it. Did that last week? Michael Jordan's Well,
he was.
Speaker 8 (01:16:09):
A first rounder last week. Not Michael Jordan, though, I.
Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
Know, I'm just the water first rounder, Arnie the Watter
first rounder, Arthur and Lingo.
Speaker 8 (01:16:18):
No, all right, this guy is a four time NBA
All Star.
Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
Tim Hardaway.
Speaker 8 (01:16:27):
No, I actually considered Tim Hardaway. So that's scary, bro.
Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
We've been working together for a while now, man, great
minds thinking a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:16:35):
Jack Sikma, No, No, you don't come up with in
the old school people. You don't even know who I'm told,
how do you know?
Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
How do you know?
Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
Because you don't even know who Jack Sigma is?
Speaker 7 (01:16:43):
Guilty?
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
Guilty, God, you should have never admit it.
Speaker 8 (01:16:46):
That just next clear. He is a two time NBA
champion and a four time All NBA defensive player. Michael Cooper. No,
not Michael Cooper, Ben Wallace. No, another good guess. He
(01:17:09):
played for or he has played for nine different NBA teams.
I won't tell you if he's still.
Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
Active or not. Oh wow, nine teams defense, Robert Ry. No,
that's a bad guess. That was a horrible guest because
he wasn't a defender. That's for damn sure. I know
I to say that.
Speaker 9 (01:17:26):
Nine teams, two time, two time, two time champ, nine teams,
four times all defensive first round draft pick, nine teams.
Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
Andre Gadala, No, it's a good guess because he played
for nineteens. I'll give you this one.
Speaker 8 (01:17:44):
He was drafted in two thousand and six by the
Phoenix Suns.
Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Seawan Marrion.
Speaker 8 (01:17:55):
No, no, he's in the fifteen in the NBA all
time for career assists.
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
This is a really good one.
Speaker 7 (01:18:11):
This is a great one.
Speaker 8 (01:18:12):
I know you guys know it though it's.
Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
I know, I know, I do, I feel it, all right.
Six Jason Kidd. No, no, kid wasn't drafted by them.
Speaker 8 (01:18:20):
I know that he played college basketball at Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
Oh Chapman. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no no. Not Keith Bogans. Not top fifteen all time
and assists.
Speaker 8 (01:18:36):
He's known for assists.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
No, that's not what you said from Kentucky.
Speaker 5 (01:18:41):
You said top fifteen in the NBA all time.
Speaker 8 (01:18:44):
And yeah, so I'm telling you that that that he's
he's known for his passing.
Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
Oh, I know exactly who it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:54):
Oh. No, he didn't played for nine teams. I was
gonna say, Raison Rondo.
Speaker 8 (01:18:58):
That's it, rodo.
Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
Music.
Speaker 8 (01:19:01):
He did play for nineteen and.
Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
You know what, because he was drafted by them and
then trade it to Boston.
Speaker 8 (01:19:08):
And the last clue I had for you guys was
he won championships with the Celtics and Lakers. That's to
rival franchise.
Speaker 5 (01:19:15):
I'm gonna call bs on top top ten, top fifteen
all time.
Speaker 2 (01:19:19):
It says he is number fifteen. You need to go
look it up, buddy, he's right.
Speaker 8 (01:19:23):
Fifteen's right, he's right. Wow, woa, that's a good way. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
No, that was you know what Ronco did? Play for
nine teams? Yeah, yeah, that was so many random like
the Mavericks he had stand the Lakers, the Mavericks, the
you know, the NBA. He was in the nineties too,
in the eighties and the seventies King.
Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
Yeah, k right, he did nine teams. Didn't he play
for Memphis? Is Memphis one of the.
Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
Teams for Ronto?
Speaker 8 (01:19:54):
Yeah that sounds yeah, I don't think he did.
Speaker 2 (01:19:57):
Yeah, I think Memphis is one of them. Yeah, I
think Memphis one of them. Yeah. That's good stuff, though, Man,
I'm on a roll. That's like seven of the last.
Speaker 8 (01:20:06):
Played Pelicans, Hawks, Clippers Bowls.
Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
Yeah. Oh well, good one right there, man, handed that
hour man Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 4 (01:20:23):

With VJ Vernhusk Geme and my man Arnie Spanning. Arnie,
let's reset the story of today, Buddy, let's talk some
more NFL. You down, Yeah, absolutely all right.
Speaker 2 (01:20:58):
So Deebo Samuel's a Washington commander.
Speaker 4 (01:21:02):
Matthew Stafford has said he is going to stay here
in Los Angeles and continue to entertain us Los Angelinos.
I consider myself I lost Angelinos now, I'm not gonna
fight it anymore. And I love the West East Coast
from the East coast. But I've been out here going
on year twenty one as long as I've been out here.
Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
So I like it out here. Obviously he likes it
out here also.
Speaker 4 (01:21:23):
But there are some other quarterbacks, some other storylines, some
other you know, just rumors and news and notes we
know the combines going on right now.
Speaker 2 (01:21:30):
Kelsey is announced he will be returning. We'll touch on
all that. Arnie.
Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
I'm thought to you at the top of the hour, man,
where do you want to spend this NFL stuff right now? Well?
Speaker 5 (01:21:39):
The New York Giants, now, I mean the big story, Yeah,
what the big rumor is that now Aaron Rodgers is
focusing his eyes on the New York Giants. Obviously stayed
in New York for playing with the Jets.
Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
I know New Jersey.
Speaker 5 (01:21:53):
I'm not gonna start mentioning, you know, mixing words here,
but he'd like to stay there, looking at that to
be his next option, though I don't think he's going
to win there. And then, of course you've heard the
whole Tennessee thing because he has a house in Tennessee.
But I think the Giants are probably the more possible
option for.
Speaker 4 (01:22:10):
Aaron rodd Was it that Todd Wasn't that Todd Furman
who told you tonight that about Nashville last week?
Speaker 1 (01:22:15):
Was it?
Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
It might be that's that was being reported. Somebody was
reporting that. I forget who was.
Speaker 5 (01:22:22):
And then now you're hearing justin Fields might be a
possible landing spot for the Las Vegas Raiders. But then again,
you've heard three or four different quarterbacks for the Las
Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:22:34):
All I do know is I got a feeling Tom.
Speaker 5 (01:22:37):
Brady's going to make the ultimate decision on who the
next quarterback of the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:22:41):
Well he should. He's He's Thomas Brady. He's the goat.
Speaker 4 (01:22:43):
He's running the show there, regardless of what people think.
Minor owner, small part owner.
Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
Yeah, that doesn't make a difference.
Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
Don't make a difference, homie, He's making a call. And yes,
we heard these reports. Now did you hear this story
that I was it Matthew Stafford and Brady that somehow
we're at some scheme attach in Montana? Like, that's what
I mean by reports in these stories. We heard everything else,
but what that he was staying in la We heard
everything else, but what actually happened? So h some of
(01:23:14):
these other quarterback names, Aaron Rodgers with the Giants, if
the Giant, would that be smart for the Giants?
Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
Shouldn't?
Speaker 4 (01:23:20):
If you're the Giants, don't you want to start young?
Don't you want to kind of start with a true
franchise guy. This idea of a placeholder for a year
I'm just not down with man.
Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
It depends on who they get.
Speaker 5 (01:23:32):
Now, if they're gonna go through the draft, and you
know who knows who they'll get, they could get a
quarterback in the drag.
Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
They can get themselves the quarterback in the draft that
they want to start them right away.
Speaker 5 (01:23:42):
Didn't go ahead and do that, then you don't need
in Aaron Rodgers if you want to trade down because
maybe you figured next year is the way to go
for quarterbacks, or maybe you want a quarterback that's in
the second or third round. Do you even maybe a
quintin you a quitting yours is your quarterback and you
could get him later on in the draft, but maybe
you don't want to start him right away, then maybe
(01:24:04):
you use Aaron Rodgers to mentor him for a year
or something to that effect.
Speaker 4 (01:24:08):
Well, our great producer, Ian and I were been talking
during every commercial break.
Speaker 2 (01:24:12):
You know he's a big Jet fan. We've been talking
about this quarterback thing and Ian fields.
Speaker 4 (01:24:17):
This could be like the Day two run of quarterbacks, right, second,
third round, third, fourth round, where you get you're gonna
get a run on these guys. You got Will Howard,
you got the kid out of you have the kid
out of Missouri. You you know, uh uh Jackson dark
at an old miss like you got a You got
a bunch of guys that I really do think to me.
Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
Quarterback is all about situation.
Speaker 6 (01:24:40):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:24:40):
We saw Braike Sean get drafted him on overall, and
we saw Braike Shan fallow on his face in his
in his rookie year. But let's not act like that
franchise had there, you know what together, Let's not act
like that franchise put him in a great position. They
bring in a new coach, they solidify a few positions.
Hey win a few more games this year and compete
with teams like the Chiefs, which they should have won
overtime law against Tampa Bay another game they should have won.
(01:25:03):
But you can see it growing because the situation is
now different. The situation is now better for the quarterback there.
So you can see one of these guys. It's it's
almost like I look at Bo Nicks. Bo Nicks is
the perfect example. Did I like bo Nicks coming out
of college?
Speaker 6 (01:25:17):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
But you put him with Seana Payton, and Sean Payton
highlights what he does well. It looks good. Right. They
pushed down the line to a playoff in his rookie year.
You know, VJ.
Speaker 5 (01:25:31):
I could actually make a case for saying, if you
need a quarterback, I'll pass on cam Ward and Truduer
Sanders because I'm not exactly sure if they're worthy of
a number one and number two pick and how good
of a quarterback they're going to be in the future,
if they're gonna be at Jayden Daniels, because obviously, you know,
that's the new norm right there, or that's the standard
(01:25:52):
that every wants.
Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
CJ. Stroud and like over the last three or four years,
there's one just coming in.
Speaker 5 (01:25:58):
Here to the place where I went down a little bit,
went down the lot last year. But that's beside the point.
If that's going to be the case, and you don't
really think it's a great quarterback class, and maybe you're
waiting on next year, you could get yourself a quarterback
third fourth, fifth round. A Jalen Millrow out of Alabama.
The Quinn viewers out of Texas talk about Las Vegas running.
Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
Will you think Jalen Rose an NFL quarterback?
Speaker 1 (01:26:22):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
Yeah, I think he's gonna be drafted.
Speaker 5 (01:26:24):
Yeah, absolutely, a quarterback, you know, like Will Howard has
been tied into to the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
Taking somebody and I'll let you comment on him. But
you know what, VJ you laugh.
Speaker 5 (01:26:36):
Fifth round, fourth round could be a really strong possibility
to learn behind somebody who could mentor him. At Dylan
Gabriel out of Oregon, who you can get proabbe in
the third, fourth, fifth round.
Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
People like that could be extremely.
Speaker 5 (01:26:52):
Targeted because you don't really have to waste a quarterback,
you know, not a big risk for a lot of reward.
Speaker 2 (01:27:00):
Will Howard two Raiders, Okay, I'll start there first.
Speaker 4 (01:27:03):
First of all the Raiders, in my opinion, they need
a quarter Okay, we all know that you're doing like Howard. Well,
my thing with Will Howard is just simply this. I
just seen too many times where they he'll give you
the game if you put it in his hands. He
won't win the close games if he can get up
on you two to three touchdowns, which he were able
(01:27:24):
to do with the Buck guys this year. Certain games,
you're good money. But if it's coming down the stretch
and you put the ball in his hands and ask
him and say, hey, my guy, go get this one
for us, he can't do it.
Speaker 2 (01:27:39):
He hasn't done it.
Speaker 4 (01:27:40):
He didn't do it at Kansas State. He didn't do
it at Ohio State. Every game they were winning where
he looked great, they were up big.
Speaker 2 (01:27:47):
I must have lost two won the championship this year.
Speaker 4 (01:27:49):
Well, I still haven't watched the game. I still haven't
watched the game. I'm a Michigan guy, No, dude, I
stick I stick to my guns. If I say I'm
not gonna do it, then I'm not gonna do it.
What about a guy like quinn Ewrs What do you feel?
What do you feel about him? And do you think
he could be a guy? Because I'm gonna tell you,
if you drive one of these quarterbacks, if you're a
bad team, even if it's the third, fourth or fifth round,
(01:28:11):
and you don't sign a veteran like Dring free agency,
you're probably gotta start.
Speaker 2 (01:28:16):
This kid, right right. I like Quinn Ewers.
Speaker 5 (01:28:19):
I don't think he's a starter in the NFL, at
least not for the first couple of years. He's the
perfect situation where he could learn somebody. If he could
learn that behind an Aaron Rodgers for a couple of years,
that would be phenomenal.
Speaker 2 (01:28:33):
But I'm not gonna go ahead. Obviously, waste a high
draft pick on him.
Speaker 5 (01:28:36):
I'll take a chance on him in the third, fourth,
fifth round, something right around there. Especially if I need
a quarterback out of the whole bunch, I'd rather take
a chance on yours and Gabriel maybe then, and also
Will Howard before Milrow.
Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
That I'll be honest with you on that. I got
another name on it, and I do like Jackson Dart
out of oh Miss. But he's gonna be a first
rounder this year. I believe. That's what Ian said a
commercial break said.
Speaker 4 (01:29:01):
I think he's gonna slip up in the first I
think someone's gonna come up and it's gonna take that
guy surprise, especially if you're a bad team that decides
to actually use your early pick on a big time
rush in a big time left tackle and get back
in the first round by moving some picks. And some
(01:29:23):
teams like if they don't, if their guy gets off
the board early, they're not just gonna waste the pick.
Speaker 2 (01:29:27):
They'll back out. They don't, they'll back out and fall
into the second round. I wulder if I was the gym.
Speaker 4 (01:29:31):
If I was picking twenty six and the three guys
I liked all went, I'm backing out of twenty six.
I much rather pick two in the second like here,
bad team. You could come up and take me twenty six.
I want your second, and then I want your second
from next year. So I got three second round picks
in the next two years.
Speaker 5 (01:29:46):
It'll be interesting because you know, people can bet on
the NFL. Drivet Vegas does have odds. I would really
willing to take. If you give me certain odds, like
maybe seven to one to ten to one, I'd be
willing to bet the Jackson darts the second quarterback off
the board. Wow, behind cam Ward and shoulder Sanders falling face.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
I see your face here.
Speaker 8 (01:30:09):
I got your head phones on, Joe.
Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
Yeah, if you give me something like seven to ten
to one odds.
Speaker 8 (01:30:15):
I'm not predicting it, but you would know I would
take that.
Speaker 5 (01:30:19):
Jackson Darts really moving up, and you do hear word
about Shader Sanders drop it a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
If anybody's going to drop big time in the first round.
Speaker 4 (01:30:29):
That's anti Dion and I can't stand it. I can't
say no, no, no, not you, not you, not you,
the masses. This is is anti Dion.
Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
Could it could be?
Speaker 5 (01:30:42):
There's always a lot of noise before the draft. We
know that players go up, players go down. I do
believe that Jackson Dart is flying way up, is going off.
Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
Camus should do it. Guys, listen.
Speaker 4 (01:30:55):
We can do all the semantics. We could do all
the flip flamm and fluff pre draft talk we do
every year. Sure, Door and Cam are going in the
first four pick shure, Door, Cam and Travis Hunter are
going in the first three picks. Four pick four, maybe four,
I'll put it at four. Who'd you say, s Cam
and WO and Travis Hunter.
Speaker 2 (01:31:14):
No, No, I will bet you. I will take some
of that action. Yeah, yeah, Travis.
Speaker 4 (01:31:17):
Hunter might go one overall, might go one over if listen,
if I'm Tennessee, I don't if you don't like, if
you're not in love to me the number one overall pick.
I have to love my quarterback. I gotta love the
guy like I gotta think he can.
Speaker 10 (01:31:33):
Do no wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:31:34):
I gotta I gotta be enamored every time I talk
to him. I gotta text him at two and three
in the morning just to tell him I'm thinking about him.
I gotta I want to pitch on my mirror when
I'm brushing my teeth in the morning. If I'm gonna
take a quarterback number one overall, I can't have zero
question marks zero.
Speaker 2 (01:31:51):
It's gotta be check check, check, check, check down the line.
Speaker 4 (01:31:56):
And if that's not the case, then you take the
best all around football player in the draft, which is Travis.
Speaker 2 (01:32:03):
Hunts her period.
Speaker 5 (01:32:06):
Unfortunately, you really can't do that this year because if
you do think, if you're if you think Travis Hunter
is the best, then you can do it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:14):
If you think I'm doing.
Speaker 5 (01:32:15):
Carter is the best, now you've got a problem. He's
got to finish you. But they say, no, it's not
gonna require surgery. He's just gonna play. I guess they say, look.
Speaker 4 (01:32:25):
I've heard a different thing. I've heard different, But yeah,
go with the report, go ahead ahead.
Speaker 2 (01:32:29):
The actual report.
Speaker 5 (01:32:31):
The actual report right now is that I'm not a doctor.
Speaker 2 (01:32:33):
I know.
Speaker 5 (01:32:34):
I'll go with what the reporters right now, that is
he won't need surgery. Who knows, as soon as he
gets drafted, boom, he'll need surgery. You was gonna point out, right,
I don't know. But if that's the case, and people
are waste more than us when it comes to medical situations,
I'm not even touching him getting close to him, especially
(01:32:55):
because I have to waste a number one pick for
a guy that now you're not telling.
Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
Me the truth.
Speaker 5 (01:33:00):
Surgery, no surgery, stress fracture. How did this kid play?
Too many question marks here? Guys, I can't wait, I
can't wait the number one pick?
Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
Yeah, what were you just saying?
Speaker 8 (01:33:10):
This is like, this is what happens though, This is
how guys like Jalen Carter end up falling to the Eagles.
You know, it's like when we start, like, you know,
talking in circles like this and starting like I don't know,
what do we say?
Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
That's not true?
Speaker 8 (01:33:23):
Say that's not true?
Speaker 4 (01:33:24):
Well, allow me, because what I heard last week was
he they're not gonna say like you need surgery, but
you could get the surgery to fix the issue.
Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
And then I remember, I forget who it was.
Speaker 4 (01:33:36):
I forget always listen to it said, yeah, but what
happens is these players, in these coaches and these scouts
and stuff and these agents, you just trying to find
one doctor that said that you.
Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
Don't need it, and then okay, look we don't need it.
Speaker 4 (01:33:47):
Look there's a doctor saying I don't need the surgery,
but there's three or four and that said, yeah, but
if you get it, you'll you'll you'll, you'll fix this
and you'll be fine, you'll be The word is, if
he has surgery, he'd be ready for training camp. So
that means he's not you know ot as and okay, cool.
But if he's ready, if the rookie is ready for
training camp, that's what I need you doing. No t's
and all that stuff. Are you in a film study?
(01:34:08):
Are you out there in the field? Do you know
the plays cannot quiz you as I'm walking by you
in the facility? Hey, on a on a certain such
and such, I got you at the three position, or
I got you the two technique and such and such happens.
Speaker 2 (01:34:18):
What are you doing? And he spits it to you.
Speaker 4 (01:34:20):
All right, cool, there's enough tape for you to look
and go. Look the guy could play. We know the
guy could play. But is this foot thing gonna be
an issue? Or do we just have the surgery. We
saw this with JJ last year. He didn't need it.
But what they say, but if you get it, you're
gonna miss this year, but it'll really clean it up
and you'll move forward. So they got the surgery, right VJ.
Here's the one thing that really caught me.
Speaker 5 (01:34:42):
You know who doctor Chow is, Doctor David Child, the
pro football doctor.
Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
You're talking about the guy from the Hangover movies.
Speaker 5 (01:34:50):
Never no, no, no, no, doctor Chow. He he goes
on a lot of the shows here and he goes
on all over the place. Brought up a great point
when he was talking about this. He goes, hey, if
there was no pain or symptoms, how is this discovered?
Because he goes special tests are needed to detect a
(01:35:10):
stress injury even if no surgery. Now seems like pending
future potential issues, potential issues. Maybe the plan is to
work out and then get it fixed. How was it
discovered you need a special test? You just don't give
that test and say, hey, look at what's going on here.
Must have been given him a problem and they went
(01:35:31):
ahead and took the test.
Speaker 2 (01:35:32):
I love that tweet.
Speaker 5 (01:35:34):
That really played a perspective in my mind that it's
more serious than everybody's thinking.
Speaker 2 (01:35:39):
Yeah, good stuff, man, Listen, we'll take a corporate and
come back.
Speaker 4 (01:35:41):
I want to talk about whether Travis Kelcey made the
right decision and whether the chiefs are making the right
decision also themselves.
Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
VJ.
Speaker 4 (01:35:52):

Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
On the glow. All right, real quick, real quick question.
Speaker 5 (01:36:55):
Somebody tweeted on in what does that say about Deebo
Samuel's Samuel that the San Francisco forty nine ers to
take decided to take a thirty one million dollar capit
and trade a guy with a seventeen million dollar.
Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
Salary just for a fifth round draft pick.
Speaker 5 (01:37:10):
It sounds like they think that he's way done past
his prime, not worth anything, and they just wanted to
get him off the books. Even with a thirty one
million dollar cap pit. That's a big hit for a
fifth round pick.
Speaker 7 (01:37:23):
You know what.
Speaker 4 (01:37:24):
It reminds me of too, and I just want to cross.
I want to like use this and cross with it.
What did they say about Luka Doncic especially, these stories
were starting to hear that the Dallas Mavericks would take
a twenty five year old What we keep hearing is
a trend, you know, transcending generational type talent and trade
him for a guy that's hitting thirty and often injured.
Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
But I didn't want to give him the money They
didn't want to get why, But why? There's always a why?
Speaker 5 (01:37:53):
You heard the reports, you know, out of shape too,
They sper not the hardest worker.
Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
Out there, but he's a Hall of Famer, great player.
Speaker 5 (01:38:06):
I understand the concerns but Anthony Davis certainly has injury problems.
I still think the Lakers came out so much better.
Look what they're doing, Look what the Warriors are doing.
Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
Whatever.
Speaker 5 (01:38:16):
Since there Jimmy Butler trade. Didn't think that was going
to happen either.
Speaker 2 (01:38:19):
Yeah, you and I were the opposite ends of that.
I'm not a big Butler guy. I'm not.
Speaker 4 (01:38:24):
But when you add him to the to to that
type of team. But the West is so deep, so deep.
I mean the West is deep. I mean the NBA
is deep.
Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
I mean you got it.
Speaker 4 (01:38:33):
You have to. You have to. I don't think these things. No, no,
I'm on not but I don't think these things. The
top they're there, Their top three teams are good.
Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:38:41):
I know you're stat with the Knicks. You love ollen
it against other top teams in the league, and I
get it because it's a true.
Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
Stat it is.
Speaker 5 (01:38:45):
But against second and third seed teams, they're like eight
and one.
Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
Yeah, I got you.
Speaker 4 (01:38:50):
But at the end of the day, you know you
still got to compete, You still gotta lace them up,
you still got to jump ball and uh and and
jump out there.
Speaker 2 (01:38:58):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:38:58):
So no, that's a good tweet. And I feel and
what is it? What does it say? It says to me,
they're just ready to move on and rebuild. They had
their window. They know the windows closed. They gotta start.
You might as well start now, you know what they say,
man get rid of what doesn't work early, and double
down on what works early.
Speaker 2 (01:39:14):
If it doesn't work, get rid of it early, don't wait. Right.
Speaker 4 (01:39:16):
The Patriots made a living out of getting rid of
players a year early. The Boston Celtics kept guys too late.
Speaker 2 (01:39:23):
What did it do?
Speaker 4 (01:39:23):
Remember they kept McHale, Parish and Bird and what did
it do? It literally set them back for fifteen years.
It literally set them. And then they missed that and
then it did What do you mean you don't know
about that about fifteen years? I'm not so sure about that, remember,
But of course for at the end of his career
was hurt with Arnie Barney. Arnie from ninety until two
thousand and five. Areny when they get to conference finals?
Speaker 5 (01:39:44):
Well, I don't think that was because of them. Member,
when bias set them back big time.
Speaker 2 (01:39:47):
That wouldn't have sent them back. They still went and
won championships. Len bias set them back, They.
Speaker 4 (01:39:52):
Still winn't won a championship. They still want a championship
at the Limbia's dot rfterter Limbias.
Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
By the way, it was, that was devastated.
Speaker 4 (01:39:59):
It was devastating. I was living in Virginia when it happened.
He was up at College Park in Maryland, o d Exactly.
I remember my mother coming home and telling me and
my brothers about it because we were lit byas fans.
Speaker 2 (01:40:10):
We we used to go to Georgetown and in the Maryland.
Did the NBA give them a pick back because of that?
Speaker 4 (01:40:16):
Sure, I have no idea, but I know Boston keeping
those guys too long did set them back at least
fifteen years because remember they also missed out on Tim Duncan.
Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
Remember that they had the worst record that year.
Speaker 5 (01:40:27):
They missed out on Tim Duncan because san Antonio Robinson
got hurt.
Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
But they still they just and they went in the tag.
Speaker 4 (01:40:36):
You wouldn't believe that's what had the worst record and
got Tim Duncan.
Speaker 5 (01:40:41):
And the part is that's when Papaovich decided, oh we
got Tim Duncan.
Speaker 2 (01:40:45):
Now I think I want to coach the team. Yeah,
I think I exactly. He was in the front. He
was like, hold on, I want to coach. Now, let
me come down. I try to coach. Riley did the
same thing.
Speaker 4 (01:40:56):
It's like, oh, we got shock and now we couldn't
get past the Pistons. But now the Pistons won their ring.
They're a little banged up. I kind of want to
go coach the heat now again and let me go
win the championship that the Van Gundy brother could not win.
But I tell you a guy that always is winning.
Man as one of the greatest update guys, is the
greatest update guy and the business. It looks like these
(01:41:17):
Warriors are coming back a little bit. Steven, My pistons
gotta win. What else, my friend, is going on in
the world of sports tonight, sir.
Speaker 7 (01:41:22):
Well, we got the women's hoops matchup Top four matchup
at Pauly Pavilion on Fox TV. Right now, let's just
call it right now. Ju Ju Watkins in usc is
going to be the National Player of the year.
Speaker 4 (01:41:32):
Oh yeah, you just write her name on it. Yes,
and she has to play in the NBA. She has
to play next year. She'll be the National Player the
year next year?
Speaker 2 (01:41:38):
Again, is jj Reddick there? The head of the trophy
is now.
Speaker 7 (01:41:41):
What's going Former Wooden Award winner.
Speaker 2 (01:41:42):
He is, Yes, Is that why he's there?
Speaker 7 (01:41:44):
By the way, Jayden Daniels is, I was.
Speaker 4 (01:41:46):
Just said, No, it's pretty star studying, not Matt Barnes,
Steven Jackson, like this thing starts studyed to night.
Speaker 2 (01:41:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:41:52):
No, but that's why he's there, right, Yes, Yes, the
trophy is also there, the Wooden Award.
Speaker 2 (01:41:56):
Yeah. Cheo.
Speaker 7 (01:41:58):
Jie Watkins averages twenty four points a game. She had
twenty three in the first half at UCLA tonight. This
is number two ranked UCLA, a team that was number
one for much of this season. UCLA is twenty seven
and one this year, and the one loss was at USC.
She's doing it to them again and right now, mid
third quarter on Fox TV, USC leads fifty five forty
(01:42:21):
six over the Bruins. It was a fourteen point halftime lead.
In other words, when it was forty six thirty two
at the break, Watkins had half the points for USC.
She had twenty three at the break. She's up to
twenty five right now. As for men's college hoops, yes,
Arnie's on on a Saturday night at Arizona's. It's gonna
lose on the court at Nice Ranks, Iowa State. It's
(01:42:43):
only early second half. Cyclones lead Arizona fifty four to
thirty six.
Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
Ouch ouch number needed to go there.
Speaker 7 (01:42:51):
Number three Florida leeds Texas A and M with about
a minute left, eighty two to seventy. There are two
late games just underway. Number one Auburn one at Kentucky
Tennessee beat Alabama on a three pointer at the buzzer.
Seventy nine seventy six wins in the top ten for
Duke and Houston, for Saint John's and Texas Tech. Vanderbilt
in overtime defeated number fourteen Missouri. Now of the NBA
(01:43:14):
is Golden State is in action and having won five
in a row. Surprisingly, has been down at Philly all night.
Going to the fourth the lead is just ninety six
ninety over Golden State. Now Quentin Grimes thirty eight points
for Philadelphia for the Warriors, Jimmy Butler out tonight due
to backspasms, course for Philly Joel Embiid out for the
season with the bad knee, and right now, early fourth quarter,
(01:43:36):
it's the Bucks up twenty at Dallas, one oh one
to eighty one. Everything else is final. The Spurs have
just one by two at Memphis one thirty to one
twenty eight. The Grizzlies, due to injuries, did not have
John Morant or Desmond, Bane, Detroit and Sacramento each one,
and Washington was a winner at Charlotte one thirteen, one hundred.
Charlotte has lost six in a row. The NHL had
(01:43:59):
its outdoor game at the Ohio State Football Stadium tonight,
attendance ninety four thousand to watch Columbus win five to
three over Detroit, who had two goals in the last
two and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
Now, that's unbelievable. Ninety four thousand.
Speaker 7 (01:44:10):
That's nearly the record when they're at the Big House.
Of course, that's over one hundred thousand for hockey at
Michigan over a decade ago. Philadelphia in a shootout one
two to one at Winnipeg. San Francisco forty nine Ers
will trade wide receiver Deebo Samuel to Washington for a
fifth rounder. We say will because the deal cannot be
official until March twelve, the first day of the new
(01:44:30):
league year. And in spring training baseball, the White Sox
won eighteen to nine over Seattle. It was eighteen to
two in the ninth Milwaukee defeated Texas nine to four,
the loss to Kumar Rocker, who allowed four runs in
the first inning, he zing two. This spring back to you.
Speaker 4 (01:44:46):
Appreciate you, Steve. Thanks for up on the show. Man
as great always man working with you.
Speaker 2 (01:44:50):
Steve.
Speaker 4 (01:44:51):
You know what I was thinking the other day with NBA,
you know, kind of full swing college. I'm ready for
Charger games again. Man.
Speaker 2 (01:44:58):
Alrighty, right, no you're not.
Speaker 7 (01:45:01):
I had so much football last year and I had
door football. I'm enjoying a couple of months off.
Speaker 4 (01:45:07):
It's true, true that I will give you that. The drive,
the drive into SOFI on Sundays it can be. And
then the Thursday nights.
Speaker 2 (01:45:14):
Monday Night, Monday Night.
Speaker 4 (01:45:16):
I tell you all the time Monday and Thursday night
games are driving from Encino.
Speaker 2 (01:45:20):
It's horrific. I'm literally leaving my house at L twelve thirty.
Speaker 7 (01:45:23):
Well, what made it worse, and we talked about this
on the Sunday Night Show late last season, is the
NFL for the first time took a Sunday game and
flexed it into Thursday night, which made all the ticket
holders who thought they were going for a weekend game
instead go to a five o'clock Thursday night game at
a stadium that's located right across the freeway from lax.
There's no traffic on the four oh five whatsoever at final.
Speaker 4 (01:45:46):
Of course, no, of course not. There's zero track not
just there. There's zero traffic on the Olympic. There's zero
traffic on Cold unfair. It's just really wide open. It
doesn't take VJ three hours to drive from Encino. So
so far for thirdsday night or a Monday night.
Speaker 7 (01:46:01):
By the way, you know what a Chargers opener is
gonna be in September Apollo Brazil.
Speaker 2 (01:46:07):
Yeah, Brazil. They're in Brazil, Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:46:08):
And no opponent yet, but they're gonna have I assume
that opening Friday night game early regular season.
Speaker 2 (01:46:14):
Well, I won't be there for that. That's that's for sure.
That's okay, go for no twelve years ago, you'll go
for a twelve hour Steve. I'm a four hour guy.
Speaker 4 (01:46:22):
I you know what all these people visit these country
Steve and brag about like Dubai.
Speaker 2 (01:46:27):
I've been to Dubai.
Speaker 7 (01:46:28):
Have a layour in Houston or Chicago could be a
twenty hour day.
Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
Just gidding, Yeah, like who who flies?
Speaker 4 (01:46:35):
I have friends that went to the mal dives, which
is a those pretty hogs with those bungalows out by India, India,
the country like out in that part of the world.
How long it take you get there? Oh point nineteen hours?
Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
Bro?
Speaker 4 (01:46:47):
You wait seventeen hours to sit on a bungalow now
they have in Santa.
Speaker 5 (01:46:51):
Barbara nineteen hours by telephone maybe, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:46:54):
Bro, nineteen hours on a flight to sit on some
bungalow over clear what dude, I can go up to
Santa Barbara and go to a resort that's got the
same bungalows that walk over the water, and they got
the bed and you can see through the clear floor
two hours up north.
Speaker 2 (01:47:09):
Up to one o one.
Speaker 8 (01:47:10):
But you'd even be awake nineteen hours in a day, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:47:13):
It's the most ridiculous thing when I hear people take
these flights. And I was on the fight seventeen hours
eight too, Like, Bro, I'm good, I'm okay. I'm a
four to five, five and a half hour guy. Other
than that, no, thank you. But Steve, I thought about
that the other day. I was like, man, I'm kind
of I'm kind of getting my it's back, Man, I
need to get back out that these I'm ready for football.
Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
To start again. But you're right, it is.
Speaker 4 (01:47:34):
It is a nice break, especially doing rams and charges
where you might have a Thursday night game and then
and then ah we.
Speaker 7 (01:47:40):
A Saturday and a Monday or Sunday and Monday before.
Speaker 4 (01:47:43):
Absolutely well it was actually, if you remember, there was
a Thursday, Sunday Monday. It was back to back because
just the way the NFL decided to schedule some games
this year. But yep, good stuff. Thanks a lot, Steve.
I appreciate you. All right, Alrenie, let's do this, man,
let's rap. Let's wrap up today. We'll do a course
at the quarter of the hours forty five, our last
segment going off by this time next week. But let's
(01:48:04):
let's go to Kelsey. You threw this out there, you texted,
you threw it on the list. We've been pushing it,
kicking it down the road. Let's attack it right now,
just really fast. I think this is a mistake.
Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
I get it. I don't want to go out like that.
But my thing is, what are you going out like?
Speaker 3 (01:48:16):
Bro?
Speaker 4 (01:48:16):
You're thirty five, thirty six, thirty seven hour old? Is
your production is going down every year? Your average fifty
one and a half yards per game. This year you're
over running. The super Bowl was like sixties. Nobody thought
you was gonna do anything. An AFC Championship game you
had thirteen yards receiving. You're not the same guy no more.
It's okay. I think a little bit of the celebrity
stuff has crept in. But if it's a money thing,
him and his brother gonna make eighty to one hundred
(01:48:38):
million dollars whenever they decide to get their real show
and podcasts together, kind of like Pat McAfee who's getting
paid eighty million dollars. They're gonna get money, man, They're
not gonna be hurting for money. And if I'm the
chiefs now tell me if I'm wrong. If I'm the
cheese am, I can I be almost like the family
member that I love you, uncle Remus. But you know,
you get a little drunk dog. You can't come to
(01:49:00):
a cookout this year, Like, no cookouts for you this year.
You drink too much. Okay, we love you, but have
a nice summer. Go to some other cooking. If I'm
the chiefs am I wrong for that thinking? Hey, if
I'm the chief, shit, tell him. Hey, look man, we
know you want to come back, but maybe there's some
other team that you know will sign you.
Speaker 2 (01:49:17):
For a year.
Speaker 5 (01:49:18):
Yeah, and I understand that rational matter of fact, better analogy,
I would say something like this, He's like the uncle
you invite to the wedding, but you're hoping he doesn't come.
Speaker 2 (01:49:26):
You're like, right, right, okay, right, I'm okay with that.
I don't think Ken's table by the kitchen, that's where
you say, that's where his table is.
Speaker 5 (01:49:34):
I don't think Kansas City really would have been all
that heartbroken if he decided to retire and move on
with his life. I think they would have been one
hundred percent okay with that. I think they're one hundred
percent okay that he's coming back, considering they lost the
Super Bowl. I think he is making the right decision.
I don't care about legacies. People say, well, he's gonna
hurt his legacy.
Speaker 2 (01:49:55):
I don't think that.
Speaker 5 (01:49:55):
Makes a difference to him. Doesn't make a different It
is also I understand. Look, when you have such a
short window to play, and you play as long as
you're playing high caliber, I think he could go also
be another a good year. He's not going to be
the Hall of Fame year like we're used to from
(01:50:16):
the guy. But I don't think I would have retired.
Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
Until I would have gotten I would have asked Taylor
Swift to.
Speaker 5 (01:50:23):
Marry me, and had that said no, being serious, I
walked through this year well because I don't think I
would want I don't want a job and having that
over my head, and that's the only thing over my
head is planning a wedding. I think I want to
worry about playing football while she worries about music. We
(01:50:44):
get engaged, and then I get that for a year
while I'm playing football. Then why I'm done with football?
We can go and get married. That that, to me,
would be the better progression, at least for somebody like him,
because when you retire, you know you have a time
finding yourself an identity. And I know you say you
(01:51:04):
don't make more money with podcasting, sin it's not about
the money. They might not even remotely enjoy podcasting nearly.
Speaker 2 (01:51:12):
As much as playing football.
Speaker 5 (01:51:14):
We know that. I just don't think he's ready to
put one hundred percent of his attention into planning a wedding.
I think he'd want to come back one more year
and you know, get engaged and.
Speaker 4 (01:51:25):
Then they'll have their wedding after Taylor Swift for never
getting married. You don't think no, I'm so tired, am shocked.
Speaker 2 (01:51:36):
Another hit song about him. Yes, that's what she does.
Speaker 4 (01:51:40):
When people show you who they are Maya Angelo to
does Maya Angelo toda.
Speaker 2 (01:51:45):
When people show you who they are, believe them.
Speaker 4 (01:51:48):
She's made a career of hit records after Broken Heart,
Bad Relationships aka jodese.
Speaker 2 (01:51:55):
A ka Married. There's there's a lot of artists man
go Jimmy Hendricks, Prince No, but there's a lot of
Aim Thom.
Speaker 5 (01:52:02):
There's a lot of people she's dated that day pay
fifteen or sixteen.
Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
Listen.
Speaker 4 (01:52:07):
I ain't ain't gonna comment on that part right there.
I love I Love my women. Listeners.
Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
Listen.
Speaker 4 (01:52:11):
Travis Kelce ninety seven catches last year, one hundred and
thirty three targets, but only eight twenty three and eight
and a half and only three touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
Just the production. It just isn't there anymore, Like it's over.
You go out like that. I don't like that cool
because it's bro, what do you go? You're not He's.
Speaker 5 (01:52:27):
Embarrass about that one play where he's standing around doing nothing. Well,
look he looked bad the whole Super Bowl. He doesn't
want to go out like that. He looks bad the
entire Super Bowl. Okay, and if you really just look
at the production, it's going backwards. He had the upbeat
thousand yard years.
Speaker 4 (01:52:45):
He had seven of them in a row, eleven hundred,
one thousand, thirteen hundred, twel hundred, fourteen hundred, eleven hundred
and thirteen.
Speaker 2 (01:52:51):
Then last year nine eighty four, this year, eight twenty three.
Speaker 4 (01:52:54):
The catches, he's had a couple of year three years
we had over one hundred catches at one ten, one
oh five and one o three, but the last two
years ninety three and ninety seven. But the averages are
going down per year thirteen point five, twelve point two,
twelve point two, ten point six, eight point five. Touchdowns
are going down eleven nine, twelve five three. The production
is just not there, Travis. If you can hear me,
(01:53:15):
and I know you don't give a damn what I
say or care who I am, that's fine. But if
you ever hear this, sir, you're a Hall of Famer.
You've done a hell of a job.
Speaker 8 (01:53:23):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:53:23):
You're gonna be mentioned as one of the top five
top maybe two or three tight ends of all time.
I would have to put my list together. I don't
think you're the greatest se the tight end of all time.
But you're You're there, You're in the discussion.
Speaker 2 (01:53:33):
But I don't think.
Speaker 4 (01:53:35):
I don't think. I don't think that the Chiefs are
Super Bowl contenders. That they have a lot to address.
You and I talked about this two weeks ago, filling
in on a Thursday night. They need to overhaul the receiver,
the tight end, and.
Speaker 2 (01:53:47):
The running back room. His number going down, though, is
that really his fault. Let's let's be honest. The offensive
line not nearly.
Speaker 5 (01:53:57):
I'm just saying not nearly as good doesn't give my
homes enough time to throw the running game. I just
saw a report today that the Kansas City chief said, no,
we're not gonna give the check o an extension. You're
gonna play what we have for this one year that
you have left. Then we'll talk about it. They need
a little help at the running game. They good defense,
you know, some of that does have a little bit
(01:54:18):
of a factor into why the numbers were down for Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (01:54:21):
Yeah. I don't know, man, I just he is slowing down.
He's slowing down. Like I said, I'm I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:54:27):
And father time is undefeated, right Ian, Ian can he
can attest to this man because hears you say it
all the time. Put the tape on. We can look
at numbers, we can blame blah blah. Put the tape on.
What does he look like when the play when the
film is running, because film don't lie. Man, great stuff.
Man will take a quick break and wrap this up.
(01:54:49):
But before then, shortly after the show are podcast We'll
be going up. If you've missed any of today's show,
make sure you check out.

tuning in and listening. We love you guys, appreciate you guys.
God bless you guys. Be safe out there and enjoy
the rest of your weekend. But as always, we're gonna
finish up with by the time next week. By this
(01:55:38):
time next week, Aaron Rodgers will be rumored with his
fifth team. As nobody is going to sign this guy.
I'm going out on a limit predicted right now, No
one signs Aaron Rodgers. He's forced into retirement.
Speaker 2 (01:55:50):
No no, no, no, no, no, no, He's gonna get signed.
He'll be signed, all right, Well that's not prediction.
Speaker 5 (01:55:53):
Go by this ton next week, Brendon ayk, you will
be traded and be gone for San Francisco the uh
earlier today. Earlier today, firehouse sales starts for the San
Francisco forty nine ers, So he'll be traded.
Speaker 4 (01:56:11):
By this time next week. All this should do are
Sanders talk of falling down the list. It's gonna come
to a hall as we are going to start to
hear rumors that the Giants are gonna be the perfect
fit for him at number.
Speaker 5 (01:56:21):
Three, possibly possibly by this time next week. Can I
get a little bit longer time? Can I Can I
get by this time next week or so? No, because
it's going to happen. I just don't know the exact time.
But it's finally gonna happen, not gonna get political. President
Trump said something about it today. Uh, Manfred is looking
(01:56:44):
into it. It looks like they're finally going to let
Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame. Uh and this week,
yep Envy and State do. I don't know how long
it's gonna take VJ. I hope it takes a week,
but probably gonna take.
Speaker 2 (01:56:57):
Longer than that.
Speaker 5 (01:56:57):
But the only thing is that's truly too bad the
man's not alive to see it, because it sucks. He's
better than eighty percent, ninety percent of the people in there.
Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
And you know what that does.
Speaker 5 (01:57:09):
Suck that he's not alive because he meant so much.
You know, I've met him on so many occasions. We
weren't friends or anything, but he was always cordial, always nice.
I know a lot of people in the media actually
became friends with him. Just a good guy. And it
really does suck that he's not alive to see this happen.
But at least we got to make it happen for him.
Speaker 2 (01:57:29):
Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (01:57:30):
By this time next week, might be loving Joy basketball
Pistons will be up to the.
Speaker 2 (01:57:38):
Fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. Could possibly be well.
I don't know about that. They have to make up
three games. That's not gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (01:57:46):
But no, I don't have to make up three games there.
Half a game there, half a game out of the
fourth seed. You better pull up your standings again, homie.
I won't pull up my standards again. How far they
from the the fourth seed? They're half a game from
the fourth seed? Playable boy? Were gonna be in the
fourth seed come next Saturday. Next Saturday, when I'm sitting
in the seat and this time start, Oh, you're right,
(01:58:07):
it looks all good. The Detroit Pistons will be in
the fourth seed. You mark my words. Look at that
schedule coming up? That schedule scare you at all? At
the Jazz, at the Clippers, which I'll be at next Wednesday.
This coming Wednesday, I'll be at the Clippers game. So
at the Jazz, at the Clippers, Warriors and nice West
Coast wing, but the Blazers, and then back home for
(01:58:27):
back to back home at home against the Wizards. Come on, brother,
that's fourth seed by this time next week.
Speaker 2 (01:58:32):
What don't you got?
Speaker 5 (01:58:34):
This time next week the best part of sports starts,
and that's with the conference tournament. So this is what
I love it, Smarch madness, and it all starts next
weekend with all the conference tournaments.
Speaker 2 (01:58:47):
Steve the Sega up. They God, we appreciate you, my man.
I are Ian Rowdy. Appreciate you. Maryna.
Speaker 4 (01:58:54):
That's the little Cist, that's the little Nassy Fox Sports
Radio appreciate you guys too.
Speaker 2 (01:58:59):
Anything and anything you're looking forward to.
Speaker 4 (01:59:01):
Man with the combine, you know, the free agency, any
of these quarterbacks, give me a quarterback, Kirk Cusins?
Speaker 2 (01:59:06):
Where's he going? Ian?
Speaker 8 (01:59:08):
Oh, where's he going?
Speaker 2 (01:59:10):
Where's where's Kirk Cousins going.
Speaker 7 (01:59:13):
I'm gonna I'm gonna say the Raiders.
Speaker 10 (01:59:15):
Okay, yeah, that's right because he's o kah Yeah. I'm
not gonna predict the Jets. Brady will trust the veteran
as a holdover guy. Probably take one of these day.
Two guys were talking about right also to Brady. Last
name Missouri, Brady Kurty Cook. Let me tell you something.
We better start talking about that guy.
Speaker 2 (01:59:34):
We better start.
Speaker 4 (01:59:34):
Matter of fact, by this time next week, Brady Cook
is gonna be a guy. We're gonna be talking a
lot more about moving up and possibly into the first round.
I think Brady Cook could be one. Yes, I think,
Brady Cook. I'll go out on the limb. Four quarterbacks
going the first round.
Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
The Louisville Quarterbacks flying up to.
Speaker 4 (01:59:50):
Four quarter four quarterback. Four quarterbacks go in the first
round of the NFL Draft. I'm saying it now, March first,
and there's still another whole month, another whole seven weeks
away into the draft. Four quarterbacks go in the first round.
Arnie Spaniard, VJ Vernon Husky, my Man, Aaron Torres and
his partners up next to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (02:00:11):
Love you guys, God Bluss
