Speaker 4 (00:26):
Okay, I'm a part of this world.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
You know. It really does give you a little bit
of everything if you think about it. I'll explain why
that is coming up here in just a couple of moments.

(01:29):
I was thinking about this because everybody loves the NCAA Tournament,
and as you should, it's fantastic. The first two days
are some of the most fun days that we have
in sports every single year, Thursday and Friday. Even when
you don't have as many buzzer beaters or really shocking
upsets or anything like that, you still have a couple

(01:49):
of unexpected moments. You still have a couple crazy plays.
You know, people are all invested because you I mean, look,
you don't have to be knowledgeable at all fill out
a bracket. You've got just as good of a shot
as anybody else. It's fun. It's why we like the
NCAA Tournament because it's inclusive. Everybody can be a part

(02:10):
of it. We talked about it on the show yesterday.
There was somebody like some woman ended up almost having
a perfect bracket because she picked every team that had
a dog as a mascot to win a couple of
years ago or something crazy like that. But that's why
the tournament is so fun because even the people that
know the most and cover the sport. Still they're caught

(02:32):
off guard and somebody who's never watched just picking on
which team name they like. It's like picking horses. Majority
of the time, they end up winning the whole thing,
and when winning the bracket and whatever pool they're in,
and however, they're doing it at their office. So the
NCAA tournament, it's fun for everybody. But I was thinking
about this as well too. It gives you a little

(02:54):
bit of everything. It really does. For example, McNeese, Now
I don't know when they dropped State. I was under
the impression that it was McNeese State, but apparently we're
just going with McNeese. That's fine whatever. Listen, nowadays people

(03:15):
can call themselves and claim to be whoever they want
to be. It's fine, no judgment, do what you gotta do.
But they gave you a little bit of everything in
this tournament. Like they've really given back to this tournament.
They've got an honest coach, they've got an unlikely star,

(03:39):
and they represent a brutal reality will wade their head coach.
He's going to NC State. The best part about that
is he's not hiding it from anybody. Everybody knows and
His approach is like, yeah, I listen. Is what it is,

(04:00):
just being honest, is it. There's a breath of fresh
air because most of the time we got to do
this song and dance. Well, listen, you know, I can't die.
I don't want to talk about those reports. I can't
confirm nor deny the interest that one school might have
in me, and blah blah blah blah blah. And I'm
committed to this school. And then like forty eight hours later,
they're signing a contract, they go elsewhere, and then it

(04:21):
just becomes a little awkward. Will Wade's like, yeah, whatever
is what it is. Nobody's got a problem, ministration play,
nobody's gonna be day. Yeah, it's been fun, no issues,
total honesty, breath of fresh air. Then you've got your
unlikely star, a mere Khan. Guy walked out with a

(04:48):
boombox before the game, and all of a sudden, he's
got nil deals that are surpassing six figures. Reportedly, guy's
holding a boom box before the game with a strap

(05:09):
on it, and he's getting paid six figures from tax
companies to Buffalo wing companies, to I mean all over
the place. He's got a nickname Aura. He's even got
a great nickname. He held a boombox. Okay, like he

(05:33):
didn't need a half court buzzer beater. And that guy's
a star. So you've got an honest coach, an unlikely star,
and then you've got your brutal reality because they are
hitting annihilated by Purdue right now. Great, literally everything you

(05:58):
could possibly want, little bit of everything. Man, that's a
coach I want to play for. Agreed, Look at that?
Isn't that a feel good story? Listen loves basketball, loves
the team, loves being around them, didn't have the athletic
ability or the gifts to play, and he becomes a

(06:19):
star just because he's a good dude. Oh and by
the way, there's a reality to this whole thing. Purdue
shelacking them in game two of the tournament. It's great,
little bit of everything. It's like those nature shows. You know,
it's great about those nature shows. They give you that

(06:40):
roller coaster of emotions that ultimately ends up in the
brutal reality of everything. Your gazelle just trying to get
a bite, the just trying mind in his own business,
and next thing, you know what, cheetah spots it and
starts to track him down, and they follow along and

(07:00):
follow along and follow along, and somehow, someway, the gazelle
gets away. The cheetah trips over a log or a
tree stump somewhere, and next thing you know, the gazelle
gets away and he's prancing through the water celebrating his victory,
and all of a sudden, a crocodile the size of

(07:22):
a submarine, rips it in half. Everything you could possibly want,
it gives it to you. The NCAA Tournament is like
one of those nature shows. Right when you celebrate the
good moment and the feel good moment, the reality sets in.

(07:43):
So for McNeice or McNee state or whatever the hell
they want to call themselves, thank you for the moments,
thank you for the memories, And that's a wrap on
the NCAA Tournament for them. In twenty twenty five, Jonas
NAXI or Fox Sports Radio at Theonas Knox at the
Jonas knoxen X and you can hang out with us
as always on the iHeartRadio app. So we have our

(08:07):
daily reminder of a story in the NFL that's not
going anywhere apparently anytime soon. The latest on Aaron Rodgers.
Aaron Rodgers met with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday. They

(08:27):
met for about six hours. It was more of a
get to know you type meeting, and Aaron Rodgers left Pittsburgh.
You didn't have a deal, but the feeling was, Hey,
we're interested, you're interested. Let's keep these conversations going. Now.

(08:48):
There's been a lot of people who have been complaining
about the delay, myself included. I was bitching about it
this week, saying, what's taken so long? What's going on here?
You've got the Vikings into it, you got the giants
that might be into it, You've got the Steeler like
all these like guilty as charged. I was one of

(09:12):
those people. And then Mike Florio reported that the delay
is not necessarily Aaron Rodgers' fault. Apparently it's his agent,
David Dunn. He's been according to sources. According to sources,
Mike Florio says that David Dunn, Rogers agent, has been

(09:34):
encouraging Rogers to be patient. Patients can become leverage, and
leverage can improve offers, and as they understand it, the
Steelers have had an offer on the table for nearly
two weeks. It hasn't been sweetened yet, but it could be.
And so you see that and you go, okay, can
we do And then I got to thinking, dude, take

(09:58):
your time. Honestly, take your time. Everything's gonna be fine.
The season doesn't kick off until September, you know what
I mean, Like we really don't need to worry about
all this stuff, Like we really don't need to worry
about whether or not he's signed. Like he's gonna sign
with somebody, and if he doesn't, he retires, and then

(10:19):
five years from now he goes into the Hall of Fame.
Like it's pretty simple, like these like these aren't confusing,
complicated situations that are happening around Aaron Rodgers. He's taking
his time. And for anybody out there complaining about the
delay or complaining about how long it's taking, or just

(10:39):
make a decision already, Like Cam Hayward's like, I just
want to know who the quarterback is. Noone's like, oh,
is that a shot at Aaron Rodgers? No, it's Cam Hayward, Like, dude,
what are we doing at quarterback? Like we've had a
problem here for years? What are we doing at quarterback?
Since Ben Roethlisberger left and even in the final year
or two years of his like there was a feeling like, hey,

(11:02):
do we have a plan? Like what is our plan?
And Cam Heyward's looking around going like, man, Rogers, like
I just want to know what are we doing? And
if you're the Steelers, you're in no position to dictate
timelines here at all whatsoever. Because the Steelers play their

(11:24):
hand and it wasn't a very good play. They reportedly
lowball justin fields. They wanted justin fields. That was their
first They lowball justin fields. And then we're like, oh,
he's going elsewhere. Apparently they're not all that into Russell Wilson.

(11:46):
Get in line. That feels like a trend in Russell
Wilson's career lately, based on the way he's left other teams,
And so now they have to pivot over to Aaron Rodgers,
and Rogers is probably like yeah, yeah, I mean maybe
a little bit few more bucks might help, but look like,
what are you guys gonna do? Like what like what
are you gonna do? Like? Their options are Mason Rudolph

(12:09):
or hope that a quarterback falls to you in the
draft and you're picking in the twenties, So I found
myself this like this morning, looking at this whole thing,
going yeah, why are we gonna rush? Like what? What is? Why?
Why are we trying to force this and get it done?
The draft is what a month away? We got time?

(12:30):
Maybe a deal get done tomorrow, Maybe we get done
during the show, maybe we'll get done Monday, Tuesday. Like,
but if you're the Steelers, if you're people to cover
the Steelers, if you're a Steelers fan, you're in no
position to dictate a timeline to Aaron Rodgers because the
reality is you need him more than he needs you

(12:53):
at the Jonas Knocks On X at the Jonas Knocks
On X, and he can hang out with us as
always on the iHeartRadio app. Right, so we're gonna have
the usuals coming up later on in the show. We
will have another edition of in case you missed it
or excuse me, that's not incase you man? Sorry, wrong
show crossing the streams? Listen, whatever? Do you care? All right? Listen,
do you care? Can we take that out of the podcast.

(13:15):
We'll take that out of the podcast. Everything will be fine.
Do you care? Coming up later on this hour, listen,
I've done like ninety eight shows this week. Okay, bear
with me for Christ's sake, do you care. At the
end of this hour, we're also going to have another
edition of the Scraps, an hour two of the program.
All of it is yours here on this two hour
extravaganza from the tire rack dot Com studios. But, as

(13:36):
it turns out, a story that you have been told
in the NFL the past several weeks, it's all a
bunch of crap. We'll tell you why next. All right.
First off, Jonas Knox can suck it.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Fox Sports

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. Coming up here just a
couple of moments from now, We're going to tell you
how a storyline that has been discussed in the NFL
over the past several weeks apparently is all a bunch
of crap. We've got the proof. That'll be yours here again.
Coming up just a couple of moments from now. We

(14:26):
do now have a quick update. Let's go ahead and
check in on the status of McNeice in their matchup
against Purdue.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Smell that smells like someone died.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
And that'll do it, folks. Purdue by fourteen, and it
felt like it was closer to fourteen hundred. Look, I'm
not trying to be an a hole. I'm really not.
It just I do. It's an amazing thing. The attorney
gives us a little bit of everything. I'm telling you, man,

(14:58):
it was a great story. It was great. I mean, yeah,
so I you know, I may have you know, not
picked them in the first round, you know, and maybe
that twelve five bit me and the ass, but you
know what, forget all that great story. Happy for Amir Khan,

(15:19):
not the boxer, the team manager for McNeese. He got paid.
Will Wade was honest about it. He's off to you know,
off to another job. And it was a fun story,
fun ride, and for their fans and the fan base
and all that. But you know, the NCAA Tournament, it
does that. It presents a a real, real truth. Ultimately,

(15:40):
it just depends on what round we're talking about. But
there's a real truth that is told at some point
in attorney, and that real truth got told, you know,
a couple of moments ago with Purdue advancing into the
next round and now you know it's it's off to
the off season for McNeese. So but congratulations all have
a run, fun storyline, fun to watch, and you know

(16:02):
people are getting paid good for them, all right at
the Jonas knoxenex By the way, speaking of the tournament,
Tractor Supply knows that a winning season takes practice, teamwork,
and a can do attitude. Thankfully, when you have a
neighbor like Tractor Supply, teamwork comes easy. Whether you're caring
for pets, chickens or a few acres, our team members

(16:22):

dot com. You can see how our hosts are doing
with their picks and who the top ranked listeners are.
The listener with the best bracket at Foxsports Radio dot
Com will win a twenty five one hundred dollars gift

(16:45):
card to Tractor Supply. All right. So, as it turns out,
a storyline that we have been fed over the past
several weeks was a bunch of crap, all crap, all
of it. So I want to play you a little

(17:05):
something from Shador Sanders, who was at his pro day
talking about all the noise, all the stuff, all the
you know, all the things that have been told about him.
His attitude is, so let's just let's take a listen
to Shador. This was from a couple of days ago.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
We always understood to block out the noise, even from
Jackson State and Colorado. It's a lot of critics, it's
a lot of hate, but we know what to do.
We know how to handle that in every way, so
we remain happy.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
So Shador has heard it all. He's like heard every
conversation about it. He's arrogant, overconfident. Whatever the terminology was.
Apparently that rubbed people the wrong way at the combine,
whatever his behavioral patterns were, like all the other stuff

(17:59):
like oh, you're gonna have to deal with Dion, You're
gonna have to do oh, oh my god, there's all
the all of that stuff. All of it was proven
bogus last night when the New York Giants signed Jameis
Winston to a two year deal. All crap, because what

(18:20):
that move tells you is that the New York Giants
are like, yeah, we'll be comfortable with that. Liked I
said it yesterday because everyone's talking about man, you know,
because of his attitude and his dad. You know, maybe
he's gonna slip in the draft. My ass he doesn't
get past six. It ain't happening. Cam Ward's going number

(18:45):
one of the Titans. I mean, that's that's like at
this point, a foregone conclusion. He's gone. The betting odds
would indicate that Abdul Carter is gonna go number two
to the Browns. The Giants are sitting there three. You
mean to tell me they're going to pass up a
bunch of doors Sanders. Really, really, it's not happening. And

(19:07):
let's just say they do and they go Travis Hunter.
Then you start to look at the oh, well, what
a you think the Raiders are going to pass up
on him? Raiders are picking at six? You think you
think Las Vegas is going to pass up on him? Like,
it wouldn't surprise me if the Raiders tried to jump

(19:28):
the Giants to make the pick. Yeah, but you don't
want to hear Listen, it's it's his attitude, and it's okay,
all right, it's his attitude as well. But you know,
but his dad could get involved.

Speaker 6 (19:39):
Man.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
We heard the same stuff about Caleb Williams last year.
We've heard it time and time again, and generally these
things end to work end up working out when the
dad gets involved. Case in point, John Elway's dad, I
don't really want him going to Baltimore. What ended up happening?

(20:02):
He ended up in Denver. I think things worked out okay.
And upon further review, I mean Baltimore didn't even like Baltimore.
They left, so I like he was wrong? Yeah, what
about what about Archie? Archie Manning? What about that that
stunt he pulled with Eli? Yeah, what happened? Went to

(20:24):
the Giants, won a couple of Super Bowls, probably gonna
be a Hall of Famer. Yeah he was okay. Chargers
ended up with Philip Rivers. I think everything worked out okay.
And upon further review, again, Archie Manning must have known
something because San Diego didn't even like the Chargers. They
left too, So like, what are we like, what are

(20:45):
we talking about here? Well, the dad's gonna get involved.
You're really a deal with a parent like that, dude,
You've seen this before. It always ends up working out.
But for weeks to Oh my god, he's gonna slip
in the draft. Shadoor Sanders could slip in the draft,
according to sources, like you've seen like all this, it's

(21:08):
all crap. And at this point, I don't see how
we gets out of the top three. And if you're
a top three pick in the draft, apparently the attitude
in the quote unquote baggage that comes along with you,

(21:28):
apparently it's not all that heavy. Otherwise the team's not
doing this that high in the draft. Second, I saw
the Giant sign Jameis Winston. Oh okay, Yeah, they're taking
Shador Okay Coote. And if they're not, we know the
Raiders are. Yeah, but you know, listen, Las Vegas. It's

(21:50):
a new regime. They want to make it. Dude, Tom
Brady and Shador have had a relationship and have known
each other for years. Years. You don't think Tom Brady
could deal with Shador and Deonce could stop. He's not
gonna fall in the draft. He's gonna fall to a

(22:11):
team that needs a quarterback and he's gonna be the
future of the franchise. That's what it's gonna be. But
because it's Shadoor and it's Colorado and it's everything. Like
because of that, it generates buzz and conversation. He's not falling,
He's not like cam Wart's gonna go one. Wow, what
a punishment, boy. That guy's got a real ego on him.

(22:34):
Oh yeah, what are you gonna do? We'll only make
him the second quarterback taken and he's gonna go three
and not one. Woo Ooo. You showed him all garbage.
It's all crap. But we're like, you know, like we
sip through. Listen, I'm not trying to point fingers and

(22:56):
not a thumb here. Guilty too. I'll read all those reports,
see what makes sense. But this entire report, this entire
discussion about his attitude and is like, what do you
want him to be? Oh shucks, I don't know. I
don't think I'm that great. Really, hope I can make
it in the NFL. No, the guy believes in himself

(23:16):
and he's proven it at multiple spots. And if he
comes off is confident or arrogant, like is that the
worst thing in the world? Like, trust me, There's been
a lot of quarterbacks who have made it in the
NFL that you talk to enough people around him You're like, yeah,
guy's kind of an a hole. Sorry, just Is, but

(23:38):
you know what, he's great. Yeah, he pissed off teammates sometimes,
but he was great. So when I see Jamis Winston
two year deal, eight million dollars of the Giants, like, oh, okay, okay, okay,
got it. Now, I know what's happening. I got it.
I see what's happening now. Shoud Or is going to

(23:59):
go three and if he doesn't go three, he's going
to go six. And if he doesn't do either one
of those, it's because he's going to go two, either
to the Browns or the Raiders are going to jump
the Giants, or the Giants aren't gonna want to take
any chances, and they move up to two because they
think the Raiders are going to do it. That's how
this thing is going to play out. All the stuff
we've heard for weeks now all a bunch of garbage.

(24:21):
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knock On
X at the Jonas Knocks On X and you can
hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
All right, so we're going to take a trip down
memory lane. A trip down memory lane, that'll be yours
here on FSR. But for all the latest from around
the world, the sports ladies and gentlemen, roll out the

(24:44):
red carpet in your ears and make way for a
man who wants some respect.

Speaker 7 (24:52):
And if he doesn't get it, he'll just take it
from you from your cold dead hands.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
The only the eyes of brown.

Speaker 7 (25:00):
Now, there's an endorsement deal in there somewhere, not necessarily
a name, image and likeness, but I could sell many
ature red carpets for people's ears, for the devoted throngs
out there, Jonas deal.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
That could work.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
I think that's a great brainstorm on your part. And
you're too nice.

Speaker 7 (25:21):
You wouldn't even you wouldn't even demand a ten percent
like finder's fee, since it was really your idea's that's
your problem.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
You're too nice. Also, I think you know anything like
some people out there have ear hair, which is weird,
but you know, if it could distract from the ear
hair to what like, oh, didn't mind, the guy's got
a red carpet go into his ear.

Speaker 7 (25:42):
Well, everyone has ear hair, it's just the problem is
some people have more ear hair than others. Where you're
concerned it might you know, clip the driver's side windshield
as you're raising all over.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Yeah, one of my high school football coaches. He looked
like a werewolf like he had. I mean, you could
literally braid the ear on his hair like it was hard.
It was hard to like actually focus on what he
was saying because I'm looking at it, going, Dude, that
guy's got like a he's got like a banshee hanging
out of the side of his head. Did he also
double as the driver's ed instructor. No, No, I don't

(26:18):
believe so. I don't remember who that was. Who was
that again? But I'll bet that person had ear hair too.
All I know is that the person who I got
driving lessons from. How can I say this? Listen? It
was a different time back then, as that way, he
was more focused on the the women, shall we say,

(26:39):
in the parking lot as we pulled out of the
uh ah that than he was really focused on what
I was doing.

Speaker 7 (26:45):
The fundamentals of the three point turn were not emphasized
properly as what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
And then I came to find out it was like
my best friend's uncle. I was like, oh, it makes
sense though, based on who you are, makes all the
sense of what high school did you go to? By
the way, are they accredited? I saw Thousand Oaks, Thousand
Oaks High School? You're a Lancer, You're a Lantido?

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Was you?

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Damn right? I was all right, Thousand Oaks Lancer.

Speaker 7 (27:07):
That was also President Kennedy's secret service nickname. By the way,
was it really yeah? A true story.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Huh.

Speaker 7 (27:12):
That particular part of it did not work out, but
that's another story. So ear hair and secret service nicknames
were not exactly what I was going for. But anyway,
back to you, No, we do have NCAA tournament action
going on, and we have our first of the Sweet sixteen.
It's four seed per Due. They just defeated McNee seventy

(27:33):
six to sixty two. Tipping off five minutes from now,
it'll be two seed Saint John's against ten seed Arkansas.
Two time heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman passed away on
Friday at the age of seventy six. Here's how it
sounded in nineteen seventy three when he beat Joe Fraser
to win the heavyweight title for the first time. The
one and only Howard Cosell at the microphone.

Speaker 6 (27:55):
Go Go Praz go crazy every right, Chapterion is taking
the mandatory a count and Foreman, it's as poised as
can be in a neutral corner.

Speaker 7 (28:09):
Finally, Jonas, we've got something going on in the n
STATEAA Women's tournament right now. This is a first round. No,
you won't you won't be. You won't be after I
tell you what's going on. This is two seed Yukon
hosting fifteen seed Arkansas State. We have seven sixteen left

(28:32):
to play on the fourth quarter and our score Arkansas
State twenty eight, Yukon ninety five. Score after the first
quarter was Yukon thirty four Arkansas five. Score at halftime

(28:54):
Yukon sixty six, Arkansas State sixteen again seven ten in
the fourth quarter Yukon ninety five Arkansas State twenty nine.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
And here's the thing.

Speaker 7 (29:07):
I like, seriously feel bad for Arkansas State, obviously because
of the score, but this game is being televised on ABC,
like Big ABC, for the whole country, so I just
feel bad that this is happening to Arkansas State. I
also feel bad that they're still showing this game on

(29:29):
ABC instead of like showing a more competitive game going on.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Right now, I'm trying to see if I can find
what the betting odds play. You know, I knew you
were going to go there. I knew you were going
to want to see. I want to see if they're
still covering, right. I want to see if Arkansas State
is still three games. That's sad.

Speaker 7 (29:45):
I'm no expert on gambling, unlike you, who's an expert
on gambling and ear hair apparently, But the pregame line
was Yukon by forty five and a half points, was
it really? Yes, the live line, I didn't know they
could be adjusted during the game. But the live spread

(30:06):
is Yukon minus seventy nine point five in real time.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
That's got to be a record. It's got to be
the biggest live line and it hits. And by the way,
you didn't know that there was such thing called in
game betting.

Speaker 7 (30:20):
I knew that there was in game betting, but I
didn't know exactly all the ins and outs. So you
enlightened me about in game betting and ear hair. Well,
I'll say this, I believe that I actually.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Have done more for in game betting than anybody has
in the world of gambling. And let me explain years ago.
And look, I'm not gonna claim that I am this
thing and this whatever this being is. But there was
somebody who would appear on the Sunday night show I
would do with Brady Quinn and their name was Live

(30:52):
Bet Jesus. And what would happen is just in the
middle of the show, usually during Sunday night football. Nobody
yeah like that. I would just pop down, like a
piece of paper would fall down into the studio and
I would open it up and it would be a
live bet on a game that was taking place. And
it started with the NFL, but then it went into
like badminton in Dubai, basketball, tennis, and Indonesia, like there

(31:17):
was like an Indian Premier League cricket was picked at
one point. And then I started to learn about Oh
so you can bet on games while they're happening. In
game betting is phenomenal. You don't oh wait, I don't
have to wait until the next one or the next
half or anything. No, I could just go now. It's
a tremendous world to live, and it's also a great
way to alienate yourself from your family if you're interested.

Speaker 7 (31:39):
Isaac, I might not be interested, but I think my
family is interested in be being alienated from them. So,
just for clarification, I had thought all this time that
Live bet Jesus was your alter egos. So you're telling
me there's some Live Bet Jesus out there that's not you.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
Yeah, I don't know. He's got a Twitter account and
everything I know. I have no knowledge, and I want
to confirm nor deny my involvement in any of that.
I just know that he shows up on the show,
lights flicker in the studio, and then like a piece
of paper with a bet, falls down onto the desk,
and for some reason, he's designated me to read those
lines on air. Fascinating. Yeah. He last appeared, by the way,

(32:21):
this past week on two Pros and a Cup of
Joe during the Dodgers Cubs game that was taking place
in Tokyo, and of course he lost that. So clearly
that wouldn't be me because I wouldn't lose.

Speaker 7 (32:33):
Well. Unfortunately, Live vest g Live That Jesus not very
divine in their social media branding, only one hundred and
thirty two followers, one of which is you back to here?

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Why don't you make it one thirty three Isaac? And
for the record, I do I do think that Live
bet Jesus had like over one thousand followers at one point,
but when Elon Musk took over Twitter, he like blew
out a bunch of accounts thinking this is a true
He blew out a bunch of accounts thinking they were fake.
And I think they thought that that one was fake
and they were like, oh, there's no way that somebody

(33:06):
calls himself live bet Jesus. But it's true. That's sacriless. Yeah,
that's terrible, but hey, you know, is what it is.
He's back for more, even if he's only got one
hundred and thirty two people that follow is his word.

Speaker 5 (34:47):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
Dmzer reports, Let's get Kinky.

Speaker 5 (34:55):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week,
But jonas the real question do you care?

Speaker 3 (35:02):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Bo Benson to find out what the hell people
have been talking about all week.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Bo.

Speaker 8 (35:08):
The New Orleans Saints have reunited with wide receiver Brandon
Cooks on a two year deal. Jonas, do you care?

Speaker 3 (35:15):
I do? Let me just look something up there I
here because this is fascinating. Brandon Cooks, who, by the way,
has had one of the more underrated careers in the NFL.
But he dealt with concussions a lot for some reason.
There's never been character issues. There's never been any like,
none of that whatsoever. And this is like one, two, three,

(35:38):
four five. So he's been on five different teams. Now
he's going back to the Saints, who he started his
career with. Actually know he's been on sixty He's had
a wild career and he's gonna pass ten thousand yards
receiving probably this year and just sort of under the radar,

(35:59):
great career, who has played for some really good teams.
So for that alone, I do care, because I think
it's a great story that the guy is going back
to New Orleans, and he's done it perceivably the right
way his entire career.

Speaker 8 (36:14):
Next, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch gave forward Joe Ingles
a rare start on Friday Night, given that ingles family
was in attendance of the game and he wanted to
give them a chance to see Joe Ingles play. His
family has lived in Orlando full time and his son
is autistic, so a really special thing there for Chris Finch.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Jonas, do you care? Yeah, that's awesome. I love it. It's
really cool. And look the fact that you know, he
gave him an opportunity. I think Chris Finch was quoted
as saying, sometimes you got to do the human thing.
That was awesome, good for his family.

Speaker 8 (36:43):
Next, MLB's Tokyo series averaged twenty five million viewers across
all platforms, making it the most most watched MLB game
ever in Japan.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
Jonas, do you care? I mean, yeah, of course I
love it. Why wouldn't you watch? Even home runs aren't
home runs are ruled home run, So I mean listen, like, like,
why wouldn't you watch? Why wouldn't you celebrate what happened
in Tokyo. Let's go live to our I have a
thought on the Tokyo series insider Chris Perfet for the
Latest Chris.

Speaker 9 (37:12):
Well as someone who was up watching that game as
part of the coverage for Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, why
wouldn't you want to miss Rodney Pete trying to interfere
with the foul ball?

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Absolutely? Next?

Speaker 8 (37:25):
Uh, the US men's national team lost to Panama on
a last second goal in the KONKAKAF Nations League semi finals.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
Jonas, do you care? Nope? Why don't care?

Speaker 8 (37:40):
Two more Georgia players got in trouble this week for speeding,
including wide receiver Nitro Tuggle.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
Jonas, do you care?

Speaker 4 (37:51):
Hold On?

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Is that really his Dave?

Speaker 8 (37:53):
Yeah, Nitro, I think that's he That's what he was
born to do. Why would you get in trouble for that?
That's n.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
Hold on to say? Really that's his name, Nitral Tuggle.
I mean, now, I mean, I'll give you three guesses.
You probably only need one as to guess. So what
he would be doing if not playing football with a
name like that, you know, there's a somehow, some way, uh,

(38:22):
he would find himself to a to a movie set
of some type. At some point during the course of
his life. But look, they like to speed. I don't know.
I don't know what it is like. It's it's ended
tragically before and for whatever reason, they can't get that
under control.

Speaker 8 (38:38):
Next, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will make his acting debut
in a guest spot on the show PowerBook three, raising Kanan.
Maybe I don't know. I don't say that, but Jonas,
do you care?

Speaker 1 (38:51):
No?

Speaker 3 (38:52):
Definitely, no, Yeah, I do not care. And I'm gonna
say maybe it's Canaan because there is a Canaan road
to Gore Hills that I drive by every single time
I come into the studio as I live in Thousand Oaks.
It's off the one to one. I think it's Canaan.
If I'm not mistaken, that would be my guess is

(39:12):
that it's Canaan. But look good, good for Lamar Jackson.
He's he's branching out a little bit. I will say
this for everybody saying like what he should get paid
and what his contract will turn out to be, and
all that mumbo jumbo that came around with of all
the people in the NFL to ever sign a big deal,
He's gotten better since he's signed the contract, he's become better. Meanwhile,

(39:39):
over in Cleveland, Brown's handed out two hundred and thirty
million dollars to a guy who decided, you know what,
even though my reputation is on the line and people
think I'm a weird, now, I'm gonna go ahead and
continue to get worse at the position. And Browns fans
meanwhile are looking at the team that left Cleveland and saying,
why did they always get it right? That guy got paid,

(40:01):
he got better. Our guy got paid and he got weirder.
The story of football in Cleveland, in the NFL, there's
a couple of people in the world of sports that
are playing nice. Something tells me there's a deep down
dislike we will discuss coming up here in just a
couple of moments from now, Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.

iHeartRadio app. You can find us on hundreds of affiliates

(40:47):

we were talking about this earlier that the NCAA tournament
gives you a little bit of everything, and it did
so in the form of McNeice, who presented you an
honest coach, a feel good story, and a brutal reality

(41:08):
will wade their head. Coach has told everybody listen, I'm gone.
We all know it. I've talked to him about it.
Nobody's got an issue with it. No song and dance,
no bs, total honesty, just letting everybody know this is
the truth. This is where I'm at, this is where
I'm heading. That's how this whole thing is going to
play out when it comes to my career and it

(41:29):
coming to an end here at McNeese. Love it, Love
the honesty. There's also the feel good story of mir Khan,
the team manager who's getting these six figure nil deals
because he was holding the boombox before the game, and
everybody loves the guy. He's got a sweet nickname, it's Aura.
And then you follow that up with the brutal reality,
which was they Purdue earlier today and got annihilated. So

(41:54):
it's a little offers you up a little bit of everything.
There's a little bit of everything in the NCAA tournament.
That's why it's fun, that's why people love it. And
then you've got your juicy matchups. And I'm not talking
about the x's and o's, I'm not talking about the
best players. I'm talking about juicy matchup, a matchup of egos,

(42:18):
a matchup of success, and a matchup of let's play
nice but deep down not really a fan. We've got
Saint John's and Arkansas Patino versus Calipari. Everybody just kind
of assumes, hey, there's a pass there. There's Louisville, Kentucky.

(42:42):
They're passive cross They followed in the footsteps of it,
like the UMass Ties all these Rick Patino was asked
about their relationship before the game and said this.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
I certainly have great respect for him, but win a
really close Everybody tried to talk walk that way. It
was just a Kentucky Louisville, Louisville, Memphis thing. You know, John,
we don't know each other's wives, we don't know each
other's children. We know, so we're not really close friends.
Like Bill and John have a very close relationship Bill
self and John. I don't know a whole lot about

(43:16):
him except he's a terrific basketball coach. I knew him
as a very young age. I knew him really well
when he was living in Coreopolis playing in Moon Township.
I knew him very well back then. But years have
gone by and I don't think we've been to dinner
one time in our lifetime.

Speaker 4 (43:32):
So it's it's I.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Mean, we're both Italian, we both love the game. I
think that's pretty much where the similarities end.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and essays, that's like one
of those you and your spouse, your significant other go
out to dinner, or you go out to some sort
of a gathering a party at somebody's house, and you
meet somebody and you're like, oh gosh, all right, gat
seeing you guys. At the end of the whole thing,
like listen, thanks so much, rap us over. I mean,

(44:01):
we love dinner. It was so great. Yes, let's do
it again. Let's do it. Yes, it was so much fun.
Like you guys pick the time we're in. We just
got to make sure we can find a babysitter and
do it. But we would love to do it. This
was so much fun. Thank you so much for making
the time, Thank you so much for having us. And
then you close the door. You guys pull out of

(44:21):
the cul de sac. You hang a left ough. They're
so fake. Oh god, so glad to be out of there.
By the way, did you like that move where I said, oh,
I can't have any more. You know it's going to
be a long drive. I did want another drink. In fact,

(44:43):
you want to go get a drink right now. I
just didn't want to have a drink with them. Like
you've been there before, you put on the show, you
put on the act. You wait until you get in
the car, there's a safe place, you turn the corner,
and then you just start airing it out. He's been there,
Patino Calipari kind of feel like that's where we're at

(45:06):
with this doesn't exactly seem like those two guys are
we were buddy, buddy, hey listen, not that it's like no, no,
we don't really know each other at all as a
matter of fact, like we don't listen. Our paths may
have crossed. I knew him when he was younger. No,
there is something there. There's a whether it's a resentment
or it could be again egos at play, whatever you

(45:29):
want to call it, there is something there which does
make this that compelling of a matchup. It makes it
more compelling. It's early on, We're four minutes and change
into the game. Arkansas's got a lead right now, they're
up thirteen to six. But it does feel like this
is one of those storylines where you've got like you'll

(45:51):
and you'll hear, I mean most of these coaches, like
it's such a small world that somebody knows somebody. It's
why it's like in the NFL where somebody will be
fired as a head coach and the land as a
decordinator somewhere and you go, God, why would they hire him?
He just got fired as a head coach. It's like, well,
look at his past, Like Matt Eberflus got fired by
the Bears and they were a clown show under his

(46:17):
watch multiple times in a season. There were just egregious
airs clock management, all that, All of that was a
reflection of Matt Eberflus guys decordinator the Cowboys, and he's
there because he had a pre existing relationship with the
Jones family, with the organization. He spent a lot of

(46:39):
years out there, Like I mean, that's how this work.
Like in coaching, you either were an assistant for somebody
or you were the video editor you did. Like there's
this you know, track record that you have in this
resume you build up where once you get your foot
in the door, it's better to have one foot in

(47:01):
then two feet out. And once you're in that world,
somebody knows somebody. You've got a relationship with so and so.
So it's not that hard to connect at all, especially
when you're Rick Patino and John Calipari. And there are
so many connections, whether it was Louisville, Kentucky, whether it
was the UMass connection, Like there's so many. I mean,

(47:21):
it's not like they've not played each other before, so
we don't really know each other. They've played like twenty
four times. The fact that Patino's like, yeah, well there's
we're not really all that close and John Calipari when
Rick Patino said, hey, the fans in Kentucky should should
cheer Calipari when he goes back there, and Patino's like
they should celebrate him and all that, and John Calipari said, yeah,

(47:43):
that was really nice of him. I would have appreciated
a Christmas card, though. There is something there. It's like
one of those moments where you just wait until you
get in the car and you've pulled down the street
and then you get the honesty. So we'll never get
it from Patino or Calipari publicly, but behind closes door,
that's when you find out how those guys truly feel
about each other. And again, should be a fun game. Now,

(48:06):
for the record, in our Fox Sports Radio Bracket Challenge,
I do have Saint John's going to the final, so
I do need Saint John's to win this game. But
in order to do so, they're going to have to
kind of go against me in that regard because Arkansas
does have a player named Jonas and a player named
Knox on their roster, which is amazing and I really

(48:29):
appreciate it. If you're wondering if there's any relation whatsoever,
and then you can you can look up the roster
and see for yourself. Clearly not. But point is, really
do appreciate it. I'm gonna have to go against my
name in order to advance in the bracket challenge at
Fox Sports Radio. Now, speaking of names, I did want
to mention this a great story that I just thought
of because obviously you hear John Calipari, Rick Patino, you know,

(48:54):
and Rick Patino said in the in the clip we
just heard it. I mean, listen, we're both Italian, we
like basketball. That's kind of where the similarities end. One
of the great moments in the history of Fox Sports
Radio happened when Andy Furman and Mike North were hosting
a show years and years ago and we had on

(49:15):
the show Jim Larenega, the head coach of Miami, and
Andy Furman, you know, started talking to Jim towards the
end of the interview and he says, you know, coach,
what is it with these Italian coaches Messamino and Carniseca
and Patino and Calipari, Like, where do you guys get

(49:35):
it from?

Speaker 10 (49:36):
And Jim Larenega said, I don't know, I'm not Italian.
And Firman it was like he saw a ghost, and
not only saw a ghost, it was like he saw
a ghost who was having an.

Speaker 3 (49:53):
Affair with his dog. I mean, gone had nothing. And
of course Mike nor being the savage that he is,
I mean he just laid it in thick way to go,
Andy way to go, AND's way to prep. So when
you see these coaches here, maybe do a little bit
more research on the last name before you make that mistake.

(50:15):
And if anybody wants to question whether or not that's
a real story, why don't you ask Andy Furman hit
him up and he could confirm that, or Mike North
they can both confirm that story happened on the air,
one of the great moments in the history of Fox
Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox on X. At the
Jonas Knox on X. By the way, a lot of
positive feedback on the show here, and I don't blame him.

(50:37):
Peter writes in do us all a favor and shove
your bleep bracket up your pasty bleep like it's one
of your bleeps, you steaming pile of bleep. Aaron Wrights in, Clearly,
if someone was rating something as useless as ear hair,

(50:59):
you would expect that to be last until you listen
to the Jonas Knox Show on Saturday. Jesus Judas writes
in Buenos Diaz, f boy, this Rogers drama is dragging

(51:21):
like Johnny Depp's bean bag through Chatsworth Park on a Friday.
Get back to something you know, like WNBA or braiding
your d hairs, you weak bitch at the Jonas Knox
at the Jonas Knox on X and you can hang

(51:44):
out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. And
Ryan writes in I picture Gary Oldman nailing the part
as your bleep if you actually braided your bleeps. Coming
up next here from the tyrak dot com studios, we

(52:07):
are going to tell you about how apparently there's one
team in the NFL not feeling all that hot about
their quarterback situation despite what they say that's yours right
here on FSR. We don't need to bring Jonas in
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. We are going to tell
you about how one team in the NFL might be

(52:28):
having some doubts about their quarterback despite what they say
to you publicly. We'll get into that for you again.
Coming up here, just a couple of moments from now.
A quick update from the game in the NCAA Tournament
right now, the battle of the legendary head coaches, Rick Patino,
John Calipari. It is early, it is very early. It's

(52:49):
the first half. But as it stands right now, Saint
John's and Arkansas early on in the first half, it
is Arkansas with a five point lead up eighteen thirteen again,
eleven minutes and change left to go in the first
half there, and we will keep you posting on the score,
and we'll keep you posting on how that thing turns

(53:10):
out throughout the course of the show here with Isaac
Loh and Kron coming up here at the bottom of
the hour. So I did want to mention this though.
First a reminder you can check out the Fox Sports
Radio YouTube channel. There's a ton of great videos from
any of our Fox Sports Radio shows. Just search Fox
Sports Radio on YouTube. You'll see a whole bunch of
video highlights from our shows. Be sure to subscribe so

(53:32):
you always have instant access to our Fox Sports Radio
videos on YouTube. Now, we mentioned the Aaron Rodgers situation.
If you miss that, the report that came out was
that Aaron Rodgers met with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday.
Apparently you spent about six hours there in Pittsburgh. There
was no offer, there was no contract signed, there was
nothing like that. Rogers went out there. They had a

(53:54):
get to know you type meeting. I think Jeremy Fowler
reported it as just to get a where you are,
how you feel, and whatnot. And there's a lot of
people that look at him, go, well, when's he just
gonna make up his mind? Like when's the guy gonna
do it? And Mike Floria reported that apparently it's Roger's
agent who is telling him to be patient and whatnot.
And look, you know, and like I know we're all

(54:18):
in a rush. And I was mentioned to this earlier,
but like why does he have to hurry? Like what's like,
like why does he need to rush this? Like what
like the draft's not for a month? You know, all
the off season camps and stuff that he needs to
be two are months away. The season's not till September. Like,

(54:39):
you know, he doesn't need to or have to make
a move here anytime soon. And I would say that
I believe the Steelers need him way more than he
needs them. So if you're the Steelers, yeah, of course
you're gonna give him some time they try, I had

(55:00):
to play their hand and they did a bad job
at it. They tried to low ball Justin Fields. Reportedly
Justin Fields went elsewhere. I don't know if they're considering
Russell Wilson as a backup option for Aaron Rodgers, but
the way some of the reporting has come out of
Pittsburgh and how they felt about Russell Wilson at the
end of the year and their desire to want to

(55:21):
keep Justin Fields and not him, even though they switched
up and went to Russell Wilson as starter during the season,
Apparently the Russell Wilson Aaron Pittsburgh is a one and
done that'll do it. So like if you're the Steelers yet,
absolutely you will wait for Rodgers because you don't have
a better option. So him taking his time, Pittsburgh should not.

(55:45):
Like Cam Hayward was starting. I just want to know
what the plan is at quarterback and he should you know.
That felt like people tried to turn this into he's
taking a shot at Rogers.

Speaker 7 (55:55):
No.

Speaker 3 (55:55):
I think he's like just tired of having to deal
with the weight. When it comes to the organization, here's
been a lot of different quarterbacks, all of us you
start to look back over the past three four years,
there's a lot of different starting quarterbacks for the Steelers,
a lot, whether it was Kenny Pickett, Mason, Rudolph Fields, Wilson,

(56:18):
just there's like a lot of turnover there. And Cam
Hayward's probably like, dude, can we just get something solidified here,
whether it's Rogers or anybody, can we just I just
want to know what we got. So from that standpoint,
I look at it and go, dude, take your time,
like what like they're going to wait for you because
they really don't have a better plan in place or

(56:39):
a better option at this point. So if you're the Steelers,
you do not dictate timelines here Rogers does. But what
is interesting is the Vikings made it a point earlier
this week to let everybody know through the media that

(57:00):
they were totally focused on JJ McCarthy as their quarterback.
They made it a point just Tom Pellisero first, they
just want to let everybody know JJ McCarthy's our guy.
But you know, for right now, we're going to focus
on JJ McCarthy. Aaron Rodgers, there was some consideration, but

(57:25):
nothing really serious. JJ McCarthy's our guy for right now huh.
Kevin Seaffert covers the Vikings for ESPN. He said, the Vikings.
You know, they're going to give JJ McCarthy as many
reps in the spring as possible. If Aaron Rodgers is
needed later for some reason and is available, he will

(57:47):
be revisited. Okay, are you getting a sense that maybe
Minnesota is not all that hot or sold or maybe
there's some concerned maybe there's some doubt with JJ McCarthy,
Like you would just assume based on the situation and

(58:09):
what has happened, Hey, he's gonna be our guy, there
would be no doubts, no doubts whatsoever. Instead, Minnesota has
kept the door open multiple times, and based on the
reporting that door is still open, they try to at

(58:30):
some level keep Sam Donald there. At least was a discussion.
They didn't want to franchise him, but at least there
was a discussion about wanting to keep Sam Donald. Okay,
doors open, Yeah, but Donald went and signed out to
where oh, Okay, doors closed. Except for the fact that

(58:51):
Daniel Jones they also tried to keep. Daniel Jones was
a guy they wanted to keep there, and Daniel Jones
decided Yeah, but I'm going to go to Indianapolis because
I feel like there's a better chance to play, you know,
right away. But still the Vikings didn't make an attempt
to keep Daniel Jones. Yeah you have, but the door's closed,

(59:12):
doors closed. JJ McCarthy's our guy. Okay, okay, And then
all of a sudden, Aaron Rodgers' names pops up, pops up,
and the conversation continues and continues and continues. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
but but listen, we've decided JJ McCarthy's our guy. Door
closed for now. Also, it's not really closed. And you

(59:34):
do plan on signing a veteran quarterback, and you do.
It's just a weird way that they've handled the support
and messaging and confidence about the guy that they took
in the first round to be the future of the
franchise last year. And I don't know what has happened.

(59:55):
Albert Breers said that, look, he's lost a lot of weight.
They had to have a second third. This may be
just an injury thing. Maybe they found something more, which
is why they had to go back in and redo. Like,
I don't know what it is, and I hope it
works out for JJ McCarthy. He wanted to go to Minnesota.
He wanted to work with Kevin O'Connell. There's a coach
that can make it work. It's gonna be Kevin O'Connell.

(01:00:17):
But their messaging and handling of it is odd. It's
just kind of weird. Why wouldn't you just say he's
our guy? Like he's our guy, but why not just
say it? The last time there was something weird like
this was girod Mayo and the Patriots last year. Remember

(01:00:40):
it was like, uh, yeah, well Drake may has outplayed
Jacoby Brissett, but Jacoby Brissett is our starter. Wait what
this is kind of was kind of weird. What's happening here?
Caleb Williams in Chicago, No, he's our guy. Jayden Daniels, Yeah,
but he was our guy. But bo Nix, he's our guy,

(01:01:03):
he's our captain. But JJ McCarthy, it's like, yeah, well
he's our guy, but you know, we're still looking for others.
We're still you know, it's like a guy who gets
in a relationship but he still keeps his dating apps
on his phone. What are you doing? Dude? Well you
never know, Well, no, you should know. That's the point,

(01:01:25):
Like he should know, like it's you're engaged and you
know your phone goes off in the middle of the
night and it's bumble again with some little be alert
letting you know that, hey, the fluozy you connected with
four hours ago when you're out with your buddies having
a drink and you swiped for s's and giggles. Yeah,

(01:01:48):
apparently that one connected. Good job. Problem is it's like
it's just a weird thing to do. So I don't
know whether or not Minnesota is just worried about the injury.
I don't know if there's concern about and being able
to adapt to Kevin O'Connell said, I don't know, but
I would just assume if he's really your guy, why'd
you keep the door open three different times and still

(01:02:10):
leave it a crack open at this point when apparently
you're not interested in the big names that have been
out there at the Jonas Knocks on X. At the
Jonas Knox on X. By the way, Tractor Supply knows
that a winning season takes practice, teamwork, and a can
do attitude. Thankfully, when you have a neighbor like Tractor Supply,
teamwork comes easy. Whether you're caring for pets, chickens, or

(01:02:54):
five hundred dollars gift card to Tractor Supply. All right,
so we're going to take a little trick down memory
lane here. All right, this will be a fun one
that'll be yours right here on Fox Sports Radio. But
first for all the latest from around the world of
sports ladies and gentlemen. This is a man. Look, he
doesn't care whether the coach is Italian, Brazilian, American, Mexican.

(01:03:16):
It doesn't matter. He didn't see race, he doesn't see nationality.
He just sees hoops. He's the one and only Isaac Longcros.

Speaker 7 (01:03:24):
Even Luxemborgian, if that's even a thing. That's what you
call people who are from Luxembourg. But right you are
as usual, Jonas, because right now, in round two of
the NCAA Tournament. How about this John Caliperi's ten seed
Arkansas Razorbacks leading Rick Patino's two seed Saint John's twenty

(01:03:46):
two to sixteen, seven minutes left to play in the
first half. Yeah, Saint John's shooting twenty one percent from
the field and is zero for seven from three point range.

Speaker 6 (01:03:57):
Where where have you guys been raised that you're so
weak metally that you sim up when.

Speaker 4 (01:04:05):
Something you what?

Speaker 7 (01:04:08):
These live NCAA tournament look ins really add great insight
into the proceedings.

Speaker 3 (01:04:15):
Hey, by the way, how about the fact that Jonas
Knox has nine points in this game for Arkansas? I
think that is the key to their success.

Speaker 7 (01:04:24):
Unfortunately, you have juxtaposed the names of two Arkansas players.
There's Jonas I do and Carter Knox. Carter with a K.
I didn't know you had a younger brother. I mean,
you can clearly see the likeness, kind of like Elston

(01:04:44):
Howard and Frank Howard. I mean you can see you
can see the similarities.

Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
I don't know, I don't know what.

Speaker 6 (01:04:51):
But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
Listen, I don't know why you have to to question,
you know, my family tree? Well what I what?

Speaker 7 (01:04:57):
I want to know is does Carter have a similar
fan following as you do with your adoing adoring adoring
minions on social media. I guess adoring is a combination
of adoring and annoying.

Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
I suppose yeah, that works, okay. I mean you can
juxtapose that one if you'd like. I'm willing going to
go with it. So yeah, listen. I just I think it's,
you know, important to point out that, you know, this
show is blossomed into such that Arkansas recruited specifically for
this show, and specifically I.

Speaker 7 (01:05:36):
Think it's a credit to you because Arkansas also has
a gentleman on its roster named Boogie by the way.

Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
Boogie. Now, by the way, I think that's the second
Boogie that John Calipari has coached.

Speaker 7 (01:05:50):
You are right, Boogie is not his given name. It's
John Euell, by the way. But I think the point
has been made. The point also made by no, go ahead,
it's your show. It's your show, ash this.

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
What did you think of my Andy Furman story from earlier.
I don't know if you caught that or if you
were of course I caught that story. Yeah, that was
a great one. I mean, Jim Layer nag hit. What's
with all you Italian coaches that had success? Give me
a salami submarine?

Speaker 7 (01:06:17):
Thank you everyone in our business. Everyone in our business
enjoys a great, uncomfortable broadcasting story.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
I don't know if I should even tell this one
on the air. You this before.

Speaker 7 (01:06:31):
There was a certain host who actually works for us
right now, I I want to embarrass him by seeing
who it was. But they were interviewing Rudy tom Janovich.
And you know what happened with Rudy tom Janovich and
the Punch by Kermit Washington and the late great John
Feinstein actually wrote a book, a great book about the
incident called The Punch. And around that time, this host

(01:06:54):
was interview interviewing Rudy tom Janovich and he closed the
interview by just offhandedly saying, well, I guess you could
really take a punch their coach, dead silence.

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
I swear to god this is true. Oh my god,
I'm surprised you haven't heard that story. I mean, listen,
Steve Hartman's one of the all time grades. He wasn't him,
was not him, so, but it's somebody that works here
and it wasn't Steven.

Speaker 7 (01:07:17):
Currently yes, and it wasn't me. But that's all I'm
giving you. It's a host that's here, someone who presently
works for this network.

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
This was a long time ago, but it's a true story.
The sager. I told you. I'm not giving any more clues.
I'll text him, Okay, can I can?

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
I know?

Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
No, Wait, wait a second, dude, Let's do this in
real time, not process of elimination. Come on, just text
me right now, just because I have to know. I
don't want to wait. But you're going to repeat it
over the air. I'm not going to repeat it. You're
going to break the fourth wall. I will not. What
do you know, I'm at a battery eight percent of
my Oh, come on, I see like. Okay, just give
me the again. Don't don't tell me who it is.

(01:07:57):
I will text you at one minute past the hour.
All right, Just don't don't tell me it is. Just
send over their Twitter information. Fine anyway.

Speaker 7 (01:08:04):
Else, wear four seed perdue first out of the Sweet sixteen.
They beat twelve seed mcne seventy six to sixty two,
knocking out eleven three pointers during the course of the contest.
In the NCAA Women's Tournament. By the way, Round one
today two seed Yukon be fifteen seed Arkansas State one
oh three to thirty four. Yukon led thirty four to
five after one, sixty six to sixteen at halftime, and

(01:08:27):
ninety two to twenty four after three quarters in that
round one matchup in the NCAA Women's Tournament. Finally, Jonas,
we have a Major League Baseball social media hoax update.

Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
Now.

Speaker 7 (01:08:39):
This week, the New York Yankees announced their concession stands
are going to be selling Tiramie Sue this season, served
in a miniature batting helmet.

Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
That is actually true.

Speaker 7 (01:08:51):
Then, however, someone on social media posted that the New
York Mets would be selling a hot Dog Bowl twelve
hot dog served in a miniature batting helmet. The post
went viral until it was finally debunked, and the reason
it was debunked was because the listed price of twelve
ninety nine was considered too low to be real. Now,

(01:09:13):
back to our Hot Dog Bowl insider, Jonas Knox, Well,
I mean think about it, twelve hot dogs for twelve
ninety nine. That it's impossible.

Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
It was impossible, Like what is a hot It's a
hot dog? Like five to seventy five. Now in a
major League ballpark. It's a minimum of five to seventy five. Yes,
like twelve dollars for twelve pop. Look, I mean that'd
be fantastic, but are rookie numbers. It's just it's not happening.

Speaker 7 (01:09:39):
But that's the funny part that if they had put
a more realistic price, like say forty six ninety nine,
I think more people would have bought it and it
would have spread even further.

Speaker 3 (01:09:50):
Than an actually did. Yeah, but it's laziness. You get
its attention to details, it's going to get a lie
to go further, and the fact they couldn't pull that off,
that's just laziness.

Speaker 7 (01:09:58):
As most of your social as most of your social
media followers know all too well.

Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
By the way, I wanted to play a little something
for you if you don't mind, Isaac, a little trip
down memory lane. Well I don't mind. You're the boss.
See the passing of the great George Foreman. You were
playing the Howard co Cell clip. Can I play you
one that I remember from my childhood? This was from
HBO Sports after George Foreman knocked out Michael Moore to
win the heavyweight title of forty five. Michael Moore is

(01:10:26):
that coach Moor on a right hand and on Believa
play Closton right Handscot It happened, It happened. I love
it that Jim Lampley with the call. Love it. I
love Jim Lampley that he's wanted like on my Mount

(01:10:50):
Rushmore favorite broadcasters of all time as Lampley Lamps.

Speaker 7 (01:10:53):
And you know what was another great call at the
other end of the spectrum was his call of fan
man parachuting into that Do you remember that.

Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
I don't remember the call specifically, but I remember the
incident and it was crazy, like if that, if that
would have taken place nowadays with social media, do you
know how much bigger of a story that would be?
A guy on a fan flew into the ring and
got caught in the ropes and I think somebody was
like beating the hell out of him. Yes, while he

(01:11:22):
was caught in the ropes trying to pull off a stunt,
somebody from one of the corners, from one of the fighters,
just started wailing on the dude. Actually it wasn't just
one guy, it was multiple people. It was a mob
that was wailing on him and he had to.

Speaker 7 (01:11:36):
Be hospitalized, not because of the parachute landing, but because
of the people beating him up.

Speaker 3 (01:11:40):
Oh so good man HBO boxing back in the day,
people forget those were the days. People forget with Harold
Letterman and Larry Merchant. You want to hear my Harold
Letterman impression? Yes, all right, Harold? How do you have
it scored after three? Okay? Jim? You see right here
he got Foreman going to the body early, but he's

(01:12:02):
just taking too many breaks. Later on in the round.
More is more active, he's busier. We know he's younger,
and he's really showing it. I got Michael Moore three
rounds to nine, thirty to twenty seven, Jim, brilliance, brilliance. Okay, Jim,
all right, it is Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports

(01:12:25):
Radio at the Jonas Knox at X coming up. We
are going to close up shop here. We've got things
in the world of sports and beyond we have not
had a chance to get to. It's called the scraps
and it's yours here on FSR. Oh, this game's getting good.
It's full of P and B as they say. We
got technicals, we got officiating complaints, we got coaches that

(01:12:46):
are having to be held back, Saint John's Arkansas living
up to the hype under four minutes to go with
Saint John's leading thirty to twenty seven in the first half.
There in the NCAA to you'll have an update on
that and more throughout the course of the afternoon. Make
sure you stick around little over ten minutes from now

(01:13:08):
here for the tire rack dot Com Studios. It'll be
Alex Curry and Karmen Vitali who will be taking over
before we get to another edition of the Scraps. A
reminder shortly after the show, the podcast will be going up,
so if you've missed any of today's show, including a
story about ear hair, be sure to check out the

(01:13:32):
podcast search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast.
Be sure to also follow, rate and review the pod. Again,
just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast,
and you'll see this show posted right after we get
off the air. I will also tweet out a link
to the show at the Jonas Knox At the Jonas Knox.

(01:13:53):
But right now it's time for.

Speaker 5 (01:13:55):
This Jonas, how could you not get to the stories?
Are there?

Speaker 3 (01:14:03):
Scraps? Now for that, we turn it over to our
executive producer Bo Benson to find out what the hell
we've missed so far on the show, boll So.

Speaker 8 (01:14:10):
Warriors point guard Steph Curry took a tumble the other day.
I believe MRI cleared is just a bruise, so you
shouldn't miss too much time, if any. But the important
news with the Golden State Warriors today is that they
will sign forward Kevin Knox for the rest of the season.

Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
All right, Yeah, told you were taking over, man.

Speaker 8 (01:14:30):
I have to assume that he is related to the
Knox that's also currently playing for Arkansas, given that he
played at Kentucky with cal.

Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
And what else?

Speaker 5 (01:14:37):
What else?

Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
What else would lead you to believe that what else?
What other similarity to there be? Geez, Bo, I don't
know that there's more to sports than just race. I
don't know why you always make it about that. Yeah,
I think I do think that it's his brother, and
I'm not mistaken. If I got that wrong, you know,
somebody can fact check me on that, because I don't
want to do it. But yeah, I do believe that

(01:15:00):
it's his brother, and so that would be the Calipari
connection as well too. But hey, listen to that's that's
an important story that only this show would care about.
For obvious, a huge step forward for all Knoxes. Yeah,
I told you about we're taking home here. We are
literally taking over. And but never mind, I'll leave that joke.
That is a joke, sayer off the air. I'll leave

(01:15:21):
that alone. What else?

Speaker 8 (01:15:22):
Alex Ovechkin he netted his eight hundred and eighty eighth goal.
He is now seven away from the NHL record, currently
held by Wayne Gretzky. I don't know how many hockey
games are left this season, but I have to think
he's gonna break it soon.

Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
I mean, if it's not this year, it would be
early next year. Yeah. But I the fact that he's
this closed because I was thinking that when he went
down with the injury earlier this season, I thought, okay,
well that'll put a damper on things. Who knows, you know,
when he returns and when he'll be back, and then
he's he goes on this tear and you're like, well,

(01:15:57):
he's actually gonna do this Like this was one of
those This was one of those records that people thought
there's no way it was ever going to be broken.
Let's go live to our I also have a thought
on Hockey Insider Christopher for the latest Chris.

Speaker 9 (01:16:08):
He's to your point about next year. He's thirty nine.
I mean he looks gray as hell. But are we
doubting he could maybe come back for year forty?

Speaker 4 (01:16:18):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
No, he's coming back. Yeah. Yeah, he's been playing since
I just like this for forty years on the ice,
you know that's a long time. Yeah, he's rushing man.
Might he might be very well have been.

Speaker 8 (01:16:31):
Hockey feels like a sport where old dudes play it
for a long time. Doesn't seem like it's.

Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
That Do you want to know why that is? Because
they glide. There's no pounding of the feet and the knees. Yeah,
so they glide And now your session for this, No,
I'm not. It's it's the same. It's it's the same
thing with why they tell you that the best sort
of workouts that you get are always in the water.
Like a lot of MMA fighters like George Saint Pierre's
one of the greatest of all time. He did a

(01:16:56):
lot like a lot of his training wasn't necessarily in
the gym. He would lift weights underwater, like in a pool,
and that's how he got a lot of his cardio,
and it helped him because there wouldn't be the pounding
of the joints and so you're not because you don't
have that. He was able to still get a workout
because these guys are just gliding on the ice, you know.
I mean, the only problem is you.

Speaker 9 (01:17:17):
Got you're gonna be like a hockey fan is gonna
come at you and tell you how you're completely sport.

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
No, no, and that was my point, and he's not.
You can say all that, you still have to avoid
the runaway truck that's trying to light you up at
center ice when you're trying to get to a loose
putt like so like, yeah, there's you don't have to
worry about the pounding of the joints. It's just the
pounding of your tour. So from some maniac who's trying
to keep stay on the team for another ten days.

Speaker 8 (01:17:43):
It's crazy to me that that Wayne Gretzky record is
going to be broken, because I was felt, of all
the sports records out there, the Wayne Gretzki records are
not ones that fall. But it looks like a vechan's
gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
So do you.

Speaker 3 (01:17:55):
I don't know if I do you remember how did
bring it up on this show last week? How when
Steve Disager sends out his nightly notes, the rundown of
like things that have happened in sports for the day.
So he sends out these notes each day, and they're
really helpful because he kind of Steve is a great
way of like breaking down and it's the news then,
and all the anchors do it, and they do a
great job, and it's helpful because it's a way to

(01:18:17):
cut through all the stuff and they list the important
notes and details of the day. And Steve Disager's got
this way where he's very matter of fact but kind
of passive aggressive at the same time. And Disager, who
looked listened. He loves his his Lakers, he loves his Dodgers,
loves his Kings. He made sure to point out that Ovechkin,

(01:18:40):
he's this mini goal shy of breaking Wayne Gretzky's record parentheses,
but keep in mind one year was wiped out because
of a lockout or something like that. There was some
year where they didn't keep Gretzky's goals, and so that's
the actual number. And Dissager made sure to point out
to everybody there was a flaw on accounting, So just

(01:19:01):
so you know, if anybody wanted to celebrate alex Ovechkin's greatness,
don't worry. Steve Disager will be there to remind you
that it's still not quite the record. He's a real
nice guy like that. But aren't we all here at
Fox Sports Radio. This has been a fun one. Thanks
to Chris, thanks to Bo, thanks to Isaac. Stick Around.
Fox Sports Radio continues here live from the Tirak dot
