Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Happy Friday night into a Saturday morning. It is the
Plank Show right here on Fox Sports Radio. And as always,
we are coming to you live from the ty rack
dot com studios. Tire rack dot com will help you
get there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road
hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack

(00:28):
dot com the way tire buying should be. Now, I've
just got a quick confession right off the top so
we can all be on the same page. I have
been infatuated. It's March madness, right, It's March madness. We've
got I think NCA tournament games that maybe recaptured our attention.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Right. You had.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
You know, upsets, you had buzzer beaters, you had wild
come from behind games. Now you still are very and
for some reason, everyone wants to complain about that.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I don't care. I think the games have been good.
It's wow.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I thought Arizona and Duke was an incredible basketball game.
But if you're a box scorer watcher and if you
didn't stay up, then you're like, oh, you know the
game it's a seventy eight point games, So it's like, no,
it's a great game, but we'll get to that coming
up in a bed. So we have March Madgic got
opening day, we'll have an official statement on where this

(01:32):
show stands on its baseball coverage. I feel like everyone
needs to make some sort of statement about what kind
of show they're going to be when it comes.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
To baseball coverage.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
And we're in a pretty unique position because we get
to recap the week and kick off the weekend, right,
so we'll talk baseball. NBA's coming down the home stretch,
and there's you know, I was just thinking about this
watching the highlights of the Pistons and the Cavaliers tonight
and realize we don't Hey, division titles don't matter to

(02:04):
anyone in the NBA anymore, right, Division titles don't matter.
But honestly, right now, we don't even really have great
playoff races. The one seed is all but decided. I guess,
you know, hypothetically, a four and a half game lead
is not impossible to overcome, But I mean, to be

(02:24):
outside the playing tournament in the East is currently a
five game spread. To either be in or out of
the playing tournament is a five and a half game spread,
so neither one of those are going to be made up.
I guess if you really want to get into the
weeds on the seven, eight and even the nine battles

(02:46):
that I mean, but again, nope, I love me some
Trey Young and what the Bulls have done with the
ewing theory pae Zach Levine is pretty wild. But those
teams aren't winning a title in the West. I guess
it's getting interesting. I guess between you know, three, four, five,
and even six for goodness sakes, and heck, don't look now,

(03:09):
but I mean both the te Wolves and the Warriors
are you know, right on that cusp of not having
to worry about the playing tournament, and the Clippers are
But again, you know, like I like I said, those
are I mean, those those are conversations that really I mean,
we've got three we got nine games left in the season.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Are we really?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Are we really mashing our heads and hands over that?
Probably not? Probably not right. So you got all these
great things going on, and here is I was laying
out all the topics that I felt like we needed
to get to tonight that I thought you guys would
want to talk about at eight sevens Oh, we had
a coach.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Get fired today in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
But by the way, a coach get fired whose team
is in the playoffs and going to make the playoffs,
we'll get to it. I figured there was, you know,
some juice there. But my point is there's a lot
going on, a lot, but for a sport where there's nothing.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Going on right now.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
I just got to be honest with you, And like
I said, I think it fits into things you guys
want to talk about. At eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six, six three
sixty nine. I still can't get enough the quarterback carousel
in the NFL. I know, I know, I know this
isn't and this isn't just an Aaron Rodgers thing, right.
I mean we sit here now, oh gosh, what three

(04:35):
weeks in a row where we have a conversation about,
Oh my gosh, what's gonna happen with Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Is is this the day? Well, we're twenty six.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Days away from the NFL Draft, so we're still three
weeks out. We're that same amount of time about removed
from the start of free agency. We're three weeks removed
from the start of free agency, and yet they're still
wildly just juicy rumors out there. Man, how many different

(05:09):
Cleveland Browns quarterbacks did we have this week? I think
Kirk Cousins was in there for a little bit. Dak
Prescott like, what are the Giants doing? Are they just
collecting quarterbacks? Are they about to are they about to
make some sort of big swing for something?

Speaker 2 (05:25):
I mean, I just what's going on?

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Why I have the Raiders and Gino Smith agreed to
a deal, yet why is the general manager of the
Minnesota Vikings commenting on Aaron Rodgers. Why is JJ McCarthy going,
by the way, we have too many podcasts? Can I
just reiterate that not? I mean Fox Sports Radio whatever
if you. I don't know, why beyond a four hour

(05:51):
show that people feel like they need more of, I
don't know, talking after three hours show daily, why do
you feel like I need talk some more? That's fine,
I get it, you guys listen, I get it. But
I mean, just in general, what is JJ McCarthy even
on We We Got Dudes? People are mad now at

(06:12):
Ted Roa McMillan for some podcasts that he was on
when it looked like he was doing the podcast while
he was eating, Like what do we we have too
many podcasts? Ah, but old man, get off my long
point aside. I was, I guess, intrigued by the JJ
McCarthy comments this week, like what good does it do

(06:32):
for him to come out and say, well, I mean,
the Vikings haven't told me anything. So it's just there's
so much going on, There's so much to unpack that
I come to you almost apologetic for the amount of
time that I've spent for tonight's show digging into NFL
news when again, b NCAA tournament's going on. We've reached

(06:56):
the elite eight, the final four is gonna be set
by Sea night and Arne Arnie and I will be
talking about it on Fox Sports Radio. NBA playoffs, man,
I just can't I can't get enough of what's the
latest twist in turn involving the quarterback carousel? So we'll
talk about it coming up here on Fox Sports Radio.
But this is not no, no, no, This is not

(07:17):
a one man show. This is not a one man crew.
It is a multi I guess you could say multitude
of people, but it's three. So we say good evening,
good morning, wherever you may be to Brianna Murrow back
in the Ti rack dot Com studios.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Brianna, how are you? Everyone get out of your way?
Or you set? You're in your seat, you're ready to go?

Speaker 4 (07:39):
I am set? Everybody got out of my way?

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Well, I just I never know, so I want to
make sure I give you plenty of time to slide.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Into JOD week.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
I did, I did?

Speaker 4 (07:49):
How about you?

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Good? Good?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Are you mad that I'm already laying out how infatuated
I am with all the quarterback crap from this week?

Speaker 6 (07:55):
No, I'm actually I'm excited for that because I think
that's the most exciting thing going on.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
I have to agree with you.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
What keeps I mean, there's still just something about And
I'm not just saying this because I'm a car stand
and you're a you're a Saints fan. There just still
seems to be something weird every so often, right, there's
smoke or something that comes out about well maybe the
Saints might still.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Move them or mentioned them earlier this week.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
For I mean, there's there's a lot there. There's a lot.
You know, when my wife gets mad at me, she goes,
you're a lot, and I'm like, I know, but there's
just a lot to it. So I'm I'm just busting
myself out here quickly. Mark, Good morning man. How was
your week?

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Good week, very good, very good week? Not too bad? Now?
Did you guys?

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Did you have a smooth did you end up having
shows during the week brand? Did you worked during the
week mark or was it pretty much just count down.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
For the weekend?

Speaker 6 (08:47):
I was actually in Vegas for the first part of
my week, and then I came back into the odd
couple and then yeah, and then I'm here.

Speaker 7 (08:55):
I subbed on Ben Maller and I also do a
couple of days of a damn pack.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Oh nice.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Has Dan Patrick publicly talked about being in last place
in the Fox Sports Radio Bracket Challenge yet? Or is
that just kind of gone Or did Dan even fill
out his own bracket? Is that something he gave to
the dan ats and just moved on from it.

Speaker 7 (09:14):
I'm not exactly sure that he brings it up, but
he keeps himself busy by talking about whatever the event
of the day is.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
To bring it up, well, I mean, it's it's him
and Steve Cavino battling for DFL in the Bracket Challenge. So,
in fact, Covino and Rich as a team are the
worst on Fox Sports Radio. And I don't know if
this is true or not, but I thought the lowest
combined point total for a tandem.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
On Fox Sports Radio. I thought they had to resign.
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
I'll check with the boss man, Arnie Spaniard to see
what he says about that. But no, there's what do
we have? We have twenty twenty two in the Fox
Sports Radio I guess you could say Personality World. Yeah,
there's a DP twenty two DFL. We'll see. We'll have
to double check. TV brings it up.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Now, wait a minute, le's that bury the lead here
Vegas this week, Brianna.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Yes, I actually went to go see my dad. Oh okay,
so we took care.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Of some business and I did Actually, I will say,
I'll drop my little girlhood here.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
I went shopping, like I went to the outlets.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Good for you, Thank.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
You so much.

Speaker 8 (10:24):
It was.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
It was a little exciting. I'm not gonna lie I
have been in years.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Did we make back what we spent?

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Like, in other words, are you when you go to
Vegas if you spend are you out there also then
making back?

Speaker 2 (10:40):
What you spent.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
No, I actually avoided like the casino heart. I'm like
because I get like, I let like my dad used
to be a bartender, and so I would actually be
in the sports book like right there, and I would
get all the printed sheets and make all my bets
because I was at least twenty one twenty two around
the time, and I'd go up with my cash and
I used to and I used to actually set parlays.

(11:02):
That was actually what got me into gambling, was were
you good? You know I was of fifty to fifty.
It just depended on But like March Madness was like
my time to shine for whatever reason. When I was younger,
I was I always hit. Okay, that's a good memory.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Here's one thing that makes me mad. I just thow.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
I don't think I've ever had a more accurate, accurate
Elite Eight. I have seven of the Elite eight teams.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
You've never had that happen before.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Oh, I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
But I won the bracket challenge last year and this
year I'm like middle of the road, which is just ridiculous.
I had everyone missed on Saint John's only a handful
of people probably had Texas Tech getting to this point,
but as it stands right now, Saint John's and yeah,

(11:54):
Saint John's is the only team I don't have.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
I've got Duke.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Let's see Duke's plain Alabama, right, I got Duke Alabama,
I got Auburn, Michigan State, I've got Houston, Tennessee, and
I got Florida Saint John's. And somehow I was like, yeah,
middle of the pack. Yeah, get down here, middle of
the pack, buddy. I don't even I think sometimes just
numbers are made up on this thing. I really do.
I just there's no way that's possible. Anyway, that's my

(12:22):
bitterness out of the way. And what's funny. What's funny
about it? But shouts out Arnie did have Texas Tech.
I didn't even know that. He knew they played basketball
at Texas Tech. I will say, what's wild about it
is for all the people that talked about not picking
chalk and things of that nature, and you make fun
of people for picking chalk.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Boy, what a year it's been for that, right you go.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
I mean, you look down right now what we have
left in the NCAA tournament, and it is a it
is a I don't want to say blue blood because
I mean, Auburn's not a blue blood in basketball.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
I guess Michigan State has kind of become one is well.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Maybe it's like a blue blood's dream in sports, because
in some way, shape or form, Alabama's a blue blood
in something. There they are in the Elite eight. Tennessee
might be in something, Florida might be in here. They
all are right there in the Elite eight. Now here's
my question for you guys tonight. And if we had
a Twitter poll, and if I was a professional sports

(13:22):
radio host, I would already have this up. And I'm
just you know, I'm still part time on the weekends.
So with that in mind, did the NCAA Tournament redeem
itself in the Round of sixteen? You and I sat
here last Friday night whenever I was in the basement
of a hotel in Columbia, Missouri with drunk people walking,
And during the show we'll have to talk about that

(13:42):
at some point tonight. I love the underdogs, I love
the buzzer beaters, I love Cinderella. I love it all.
But I also feel like that everyone that talks about
loving Cinderella and loving buzzer beaters and all those things.
I feel like breathe by the time that they get
to the round of sixteen or eight?

Speaker 2 (13:59):
What they one? Where's my blue bloods? Where's my names?
Where's the teams that I know?

Speaker 3 (14:04):
And I kept pushing last week to say, hey, we
got a we got a chance to really have a
good sweet sixteen.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
And elead eight.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
But our question last week, as I was in that basement,
was could we even come up with the top five
plays from the NCAA tournament so far? Top five of
the NCAA tournament, could we could we even come up
with that number? Would that make any sense at all?
Because the way that it seemed to me we had

(14:33):
to struggle five. I mean last Friday night, we sat
here after the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and
one of our five biggest moments from the first round
was a.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Wait, what is what's Alabama?

Speaker 9 (14:46):
Two?

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Was a fifteen?

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Keeping things tight with a two and still losing by
double digits. I mean, that was it. We had one upset,
it was a McNee state. Even the Colorado State upset,
I think I think we niece might have been the
same way. It was like a three to four point spread.
So I'll pose it throughout the night at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety

(15:10):
six sixty three six nine. But to try to temper
my my quarterback drunkenness, I guess do we do? We
step back and say, all right with I mean, let
me just talk through a couple of games. We got
highlights coming up here in just a bit courtesy of
Westwood One with what was actually a pretty good first

(15:30):
half and most of the second half between Auburn and Michigan,
with a with the Michigan State Ole Miss game which
was really good. Duke Arizona I thought was great last night.
Now Alabama set an NCAA record for the most threes
in the NCAA tournament. Kind of made that a little
bit one sided. Florida beats Maryland by sixteen, but when

(15:52):
you watch that game back, that was not a sixteen
point game. Kentucky kind of was out of it all ga.
I mean, Tennessee controlled Kentucky. Maybe that's the only one.
But a buzzer beater in the Houston game to beat Purdue,
the comeback by Texas Tech and then winning an overtime
over Arkansas when Arkansas controlled that game, breathe a question

(16:12):
of the night. Did March Madness go and totally redeem
itself with what happened to Sweet sixteen? Or is it
still kind of mah in your book?

Speaker 4 (16:23):
I think I'm still kind of meh.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
That thing still isn't nothing really like standing out to
me like memorable.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Not yet.

Speaker 6 (16:29):
I don't know if this year, if there's ever, if
there's going to be something, I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Yeah, that's my opinion, I think.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
And it's funny because boy, we are I mean, I
know again, I'm very extra, I'm very over the top.
But I feel like we're a bunch of drama queens
and kings. Whenever it comes to something that just doesn't
necessarily go the way that we want it to, it
may give me four incidents. Everyone loves cinderellas, everyone loves upsets.

(16:58):
The first round of the NCAA tournament had the highest
winning margin of games ever. Margin of victory was the
largest you had for what the first time is twenty
seventeen and only the sixth time in the modern era.
All four seeds in each region advanced, and the collective

(17:21):
the collective conversation was, oh, my gosh, Cinderella's is never
going to get to do anything in this new NIL era.
I mean, this is this is year five of NIL.
I mean, this isn't something new.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
And I think my.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Other favorite thing from this week was everyone complaining about
the transfer portal being open, when this is year five
of the portal being open during this time. This is
again nothing new, And I just feel like sometimes it's
almost it's almost like groundhog Day, the movie with Bill Murray.

(17:56):
I don't know if you guys have ever seen that.
It's it's good old movie and he relives the same
day over and over and over. I feel like sometimes
in sports we relived that same day over and over,
and you're like, bro, we just talked about this like
last year, or this is something that we've been doing
for a long time, and I just I think I
think we're being a little bit overly dramatic about this.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Oh and I Ella is killed Cinderella.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
No, we just finally have got past having dudes that
are playing at colleges like Oakland that have been in
school for ten years because of COVID seasons. So I
I think I'm with you. All all that said, and
all that meandering aside. I think it's still kind of
met Brion. It's when you can count your moments on
one hand. If even that, like, hey, how about that

(18:41):
Tech Arkansas game?

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Great game? How's fun game between here Soon and Purdue
even though it was a.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Gross game, offensively right, kind of what we thought, Hey,
you see that buzzer beater by Maryland to win?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Oh, it's great.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
You gotta sit around and you look at each other
and it's like, ah, big GULPSA. You know, it's like,
what more do you have from the tournament that you
can hang your hat on unless it's your team, unless
it's your school that's making a run, And that's a
that's a completely different world. So at eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six,
six three sixty nine, as the kids would say, get

(19:14):
on in here and let's talk a little bit of
college basketball.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Now.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
When we come back, I lead with some NFL talk, right,
I led with my infatuation with the quarterback buzz.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
From this week. So before we get to your calls,
before we talk about the.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
NCAA tournament, I want to take these like piece by piece.
So let's talk about favorite moment number five from the
weekend that was in the Quarterback Rumor Mill and we'll
do it next as we're company you live tonight for

(20:57):
out of curiosity before we complete one eighty to football?

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Did you do a bracket, Bree? How are you feeling
about things?

Speaker 6 (21:03):
Oh, I'm at the bottom, like I'm actually like probably
like Kobin now in our like roster bracket.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
Yeah, yeah, not good, not good.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
It's it's did you try to trick things up? Did
you try to go anti chalk or anything?

Speaker 6 (21:17):
Or I was just kind of trying to go with
my gut and I don't know, my god, it's just
so wrong. I think I think I just was predicting
a lot more upsets and a lot more cinderellas.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
I guess I.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Don't necessarily see Mark as a bracket guy. Do you
have a bracket this year?

Speaker 11 (21:30):
Mark?

Speaker 7 (21:30):
No, I just bring tissue to the office and yeah,
there you go crying. That's what I usually do, just
to enjoy their and they're moaning, and they were good
practical thing at.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Least Bree's not upset about it. She's kind of wearing it.
That's fine. I Arnie takes it very serious. Like he
thinks he's a basketball expert, so he takes it very serious.
I I think I I think I used to, but
I just don't as much anymore. I like doing it.
I like I don't feel like I need to brag

(22:03):
about it. I only do one. I think a lot
of people get caught up in trying to do multiple brackets.
But yeah, I don't care about your bracket, not you, Bree,
not you Mark, but the royal you. So I would
expect that you don't care about mine. Is that a
fair Is that a fair train? Is that like a
high five trade off?

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Tonight?

Speaker 3 (22:18):
I already complained about how I got seven of the ELITEA,
but somehow I'm only middle of the pack, So that
makes no sense to me to begin with. But here
we are, all right, before we get to your calls,
just out to the bottom of the hour at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six six three six nine. I have my top five
quarterback stories from this week, and we'll sprinkle them in
throughout the night because all week.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
All week there were.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Fascinating and I mean fascinating quarterback stories all the way around.
I want to start them with what's going on with
the Browns because we had we had some doozies this
week involving the Cleveland Browns, Because first the week started
with a random Kirk Cousins sighting in Cleveland. Now, I

(23:06):
don't know how any of you guys feel about Kirk Cousins,
but there is a part of me that thinks you're
almost in a better situation if your quarterback is Deshaun
Watson than you are with Kirk Cousins. You might say
that seems a little bit cold plank, that seems even mean,

(23:26):
to which I would say, have you watched.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Kirk Cousins over the last few years?

Speaker 3 (23:31):
So, I mean, did we ever even get that confirmed
or exactly why he was in Cleveland? I mean, is
there is there some story about is there some story about.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Like there's family in Cleveland?

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Because again, as the story goes, you know, just this
was what yesterday, Kirk Cousins was spotted at a west
Lake Chipotle. And whenever, whenever the picture went viral or
double tweeted, what's double tweeted? Have you ever heard of

(24:08):
that before? He responded with that I think so. He
responded to the tweet with salad with double chicken never
fails me, okay, And then after apparently eating some chicken
for lunch, Kirk Cousins made his way to City Barbecue
in Avon, Ohio, to where he took pictures with the
owners of the restaurant there. Now, again, like I said,

(24:33):
I don't know if that's necessarily a step up for Cleveland,
but based on where Cleveland has been recently in the
quarterback world and with de Shaun Watson hurt by the way,
a side note, Ben Simmons was the king of like
posting an off season workout and everyone's like.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Oh, look at Ben Simmons, Look at Ben Simmons.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
He's in And then at some point, like I don't know,
what would you say after three years, like okay, enough
of the workout videos during the off season, like you're
not getting better. Deshaun Watson dropped a workout video this
this past week and nobody even cared. It's like, okay, great,
you're you're still You're still bad. But the Cousins Cleveland

(25:18):
tie is interesting and according to reports, Cousins is apparently
waiting until after the draft to try to facilitate a
trade out of Atlanta. The Browns don't draft a quarterback
with a second overall pick, it seems possible that Kirk
Cousins could still end up in Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
For now, you like that. For now we know this.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
My man loves double chicken salad with double chicken from Chipotle,
which I salad Chipotle.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Like, what are we doing? Uh?

Speaker 3 (25:53):
And and apparently he's a big barbecue guy in Avon, Ohio.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
So those were the two. Those were the two.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Are are one of the Cleveland Brown's rumors that I
love from this last week. Kirk Cousins out and about
eating barbecue among the people. Now, if I were to
ask you, Brie before we get to the phones at
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. More likely to
be the brown starting quarterback in Week one in twenty
twenty five, someone currently on the roster, which, by the way,

(26:24):
let me remind you. Let me remind you, the Browns
quarterback situation might currently be the worst quarterback roster situation
in the National Football League. And I say that with
peace and love. Peace and love, Cleveland Browns fans. Because currently,
as of this moment, right now, you have two quarterbacks

(26:48):
on your roster.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Two. You got Deshaun Watson and you got Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
That's it. Now, you might say that's two first round picks.
So here'd be my question. Is it one of the
quarterbacks currently on the roster or a potential quarterback day draft?
I just all put those three in a group, roster
or a draft or Kirk Cousins. Who would you say
is more likely to be the starting quarterback for the
Browns next year?

Speaker 4 (27:15):
I'm gonna go Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Okay, well, next hour, I'm gonna next I don't know
that I disagree, but next hour, I'm gonna add another
name to this list for the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
Yeah, Bailey Zappy.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Where is Bailey Zappy?

Speaker 4 (27:29):
I actually thought he was in Cleveland, So I'm kind
of I think.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
I stop the show for a minute. We have to
find out where bailey'sz Appy is. You know everybody's favorite
Bailey's Appy moment. Oh, Bailey Zappy's with the Chiefs. How
did that happen? Oh gosh, what are the Chiefs doing?
Just collecting crappy quarterbacks? Bailey Zappy Gardner Minshew Bailey Zappy
still had the greatest moment I think in Monday Night

(27:52):
football history if you're a Patriots hater, because that was
the game where they were losing their mind and they
were booing mac Jones and England's getting kind of housed
by the Bears, and then Bailey's appy comes in and
leads him right down the field on a scoring drive
and play them crazy. Come on, Patriots fan, you know
went crazy only to see.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
The next drive. The dude was terrible.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
And Chicago absolutely kicked the snot out of New England
with Justin Fields. Mind you, So the Browns quarterback situation,
it was Kirk Cousins being spotted around town in Cleveland,
and then there was a rumor that may or may
not be fake news. So before we get to that,
at eight seven, seven ninety nine, O Fox, let's hit

(28:34):
some of your calls going for Y'll leave it up
to you. You've been working the phones, You've been talking
to the people. Where would you like to start on
this Friday night?

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Let's start with Steve in Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
He's become our regular leadoff hitter, has he not? Steve?
Good evening, Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. What's going on?

Speaker 12 (28:49):
Oh Plank, thank you, bro, the best weekend radio show
host ever. I'm this weekend. I'm watching softball. I'm watching
Texas Tech Softball, checking out to see if they're going
to win a national championship with this pitcher. So, I
don't know, maybe they can do it with one player.

Speaker 8 (29:09):
It'll be fun to fun to see.

Speaker 12 (29:10):
But you know, I about this quarterback situation. You know,
it's really kind of a slap in the face to
to Aaron Rodgers and his legacy that you know they're
having Basically from what I've been seeing, they were having
open auditions. Uh, they're sending sending their scout guys out

(29:33):
to see Will Howard, their scheduling meetings with Jackson Dart.
You know what what is going on? I mean, it's
just Aaron should should probably just sign with Minnesota. I've
always thought that the Steelers are are clueless and tremendously
overrated at this kind of stuff. I mean, this is

(29:53):
just a this is just a disaster. My gut tells
me it's a total disaster for a pitch. This is
why they haven't won a Super Bowl and they haven't
won anything in so long. And to be honest, it's
probably a better road to the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers
doesn't want to go to Pittsburgh. It's much tougher in

(30:14):
the AFC with the Minnesota. Is is low, low stress,
low pressure a good way to get to the Super Bowl?
I don't Yeah, yeah, I don't know. You know, it's
it's this thing that well, the Steelers and the Packers
are legacies, and yeah that's great and all, but they

(30:34):
haven't won Jack Squatt in forever and Aaron Rodgers, and
they spent six hours with Aaron Rodgers and now they're
just they're going after dudes. You know, Will Howard, a
guy that couldn't win anything in college. So I mean,
I I don't know what is happening. I mean, I
know they're probably playing the long game here. They're probably

(30:57):
playing it, playing it, playing it out. But go go
erin to Minnesota, be like Brett Barb and win when there.
And my I had another comment about Beyond Sanders to
kind of start it off. I I love Beyond to death,
I love the I love the Big twelve, I love Colorado, but.

Speaker 13 (31:15):
Man, that guy is not the.

Speaker 12 (31:17):
Fourth highest paid the college football coach. And I mean,
that's good. They're just trying to make sure Dallas doesn't
come in with a huge offer and probably and probably
get him. I mean, this is this is ridiculous. I mean,
he's They're never going to get all the way through
that through that deal. I mean I would be I
would be shocked if Beyond you know, makes it through

(31:39):
four years at Colorado. I mean, I'm kind of curious
to hear your your opinion on that one.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Thanks all I had Steve. You have a great week.
What a way to kick it off. Touched on a
myriad of things. He hit my beloved softball in nice cannedy.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Look out.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Uh my Sooner's lost tonight. I'm a little shook. That
kind of affected the pre show nap a little bit.
Do you know what the roster at quarterback is right
like as we speak this moment for the Steelers. I
have to take back what I said about the Browns
because I said the Browns had the worst quarterback situation

(32:12):
in the NFL are currently on its roster like this
if the game ever. I hate it when people say this,
it's what is today's date at March It's March twenty ninth.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Games aren't going to be played until September.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
If the games were played today, the Steelers depth charted
quarterback would be Mason Rudolph and Skyler Thompson.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Now we know that's not going to be the case
when the season gets here, but gross, so to me,
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
I don't know what the Steelers are the Giants are doing.
I have no clue. And you know, give Pittsburgh credit.
They swung in the first round a couple of years
ago when we didn't think we had a first round
quarterback and honestly, come to find out, we didn't, and
they drafted Kenny Pickett, who's been really mediocre in his career.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
He's on his third team already.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
I mean, I should tell you something right now, for
a guy that was drafted what in the twenty twenty
three draft, you're on your third team already?

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Twenty two drafts? Sorry, so number one there.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Yeah, they're realizing their first swing at a quarterback of
the future is a miss. I I don't know where
the blame falls on the dragging of the feet with
Aaron Rodgers. You know, some are so quick to pile
on Aaron Rodgers, and I get it because he's an
easy target, and you had that corny picture of him

(33:35):
standing on the beach with a blanket wrapped around him
and his court at air.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Pods, and it was like, my gosh, look at this guy.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
But you know, maybe maybe it is him kind of
getting jerked around by Minnesota to figure out if he
wants to play there, if they want him, because that's
where he wants to go, and maybe he's let him know.

Speaker 8 (33:50):
That, don't.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
I don't know, and I don't know if anybody knows
right now, but I do find it very weird that
the Vikings GM felt the need to comment on him
this week. So and in fairness, he was asked a question,
but still, I mean, nine out of ten times, whenever
you ask a question of a GM for a guy
that's not on their team, what do they say, Well,
you know, we'll focus on the guys that are here

(34:12):
and we'll see what plays out. I'm going to some
ten minutes soliloquy about it, but I'm with you being
very perplexed. I think I think with the Steelers have seen,
and I know we're up against the guys, I'll be quick.
I think with the Steelers have seen is that there
might be some value in that number three quarterback, and
everyone's going to have a different opinion. And when I
say number three quarterback, I mean behind cam Ward and

(34:34):
Shador Sanders. We've reached that time of the draft cycle
where everyone's trying to find another quarterback that could jump
ahead of Shad or Sanders, which could be the dumbest
thing I've ever heard in my life.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
But Jackson Dart's really good.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
Jalen Milrose got some of those things about him that
make your jaw drop. So I'm with you. I'm shocked
they don't have a deal done with Aaron Rodgers yet
if they got tired of him dragging his feet, or
if he got tired of them dragging theirs. And they're
doing their due diligence. They're doing their due diligence, and

(35:08):
when it comes to the draft, they want to see
if they can get a guy there.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
All right, good start, Steve, Let's get your calls rolling.
We'll keep them coming. Next. That's free.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
That's Mark on Plank coming to you live from the
tyrack dot Com studio with The Plank Show right here
on Fox Sports Radio. I feel like we just got
left on a cliffhanger of a story during the breakthough, Brie, Thank.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
You, Chris, I know the worst time.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Welcome back to the Tirack dot Com studios. It's the
Plank Show. Hey, make sure to check out the Fox

many of our shows. Just search Fox Sports Radio on
YouTube and you'll see a whole bunch of video highlights
from our shows. And be sure to subscribe so you
always have instant access to our Fox Sports Radio videos

(35:52):
on the YouTube's. I will add one thing before we
rifle through a couple of calls here. I know that
for you and Mark and most of the West Coast,
this is a make conversation. But it's a big story.
I think along the Eastern Seaboard, are these games starting
too late in the NCAA tournament?

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Like? Do you?

Speaker 3 (36:14):
I mean last night, I'm just gonna be honest with you,
I felt asleep. I couldn't keep my eyes open, and
it was heading down the home stretch of the Arkansas
Tech game. Now, Arkansas was up sixteen at that point.
But is this a is this a worthy conversation or
is this one of those Hey, shut up, old man,

(36:34):
You're gonna be okay.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
I wouldn't go that far.

Speaker 6 (36:38):
But it hasn't impacted me in the sense of being
too late, because I think for me it kind of
starts at like four, which I wish it was earlier.
I mean, I wish it started out like two or three.
I'd go to a happy hour or something and.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Have like fun. Yeah, but yeah, four, I.

Speaker 6 (36:55):
Mean, it's not killing me. And the second game starts
around like seven. That's that's not killing.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
It's it's it's yeah, you're right.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
It's not a conversation that fall it falls on deaf
Ear's mark for you guys, what.

Speaker 7 (37:05):
The most games kind of favorite for the East Coast
because of the time that they start, because the West is,
you know, just time wise is always going to be
so early and afternoon. People have to get home from
work or whatever it is to even watch a game.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
I was listening to I don't know, I think one
of the debate shows and someone was losing their mind
about it. We have everyone has a podcast. We have
too many podcasts. I still don't know what the podcast was.
A rock party was on this week. I have no
idea who in the world that JJ McCarthy was talking
to Number one and then Number two. People are losing
their minds over we have too many debate shows. People

(37:44):
are losing their minds over the start times. I'm like,
that's why. That's why the Central time zone, Scott's time zone.
It's pretty good, not bad, all right. Speaking of the
East coast, let's hit there. Andre's in Massachusetts. He kicks
off this segment on Fox Sports Radio. What's going on?

Speaker 2 (38:00):
How you doing? Mane?

Speaker 14 (38:02):
Hey, how you doing on?

Speaker 15 (38:03):
Thanks for taking the call.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Listen.

Speaker 14 (38:05):
I'm on the East coast here, but I tend to
be a little bit of a night out right, So
these later start times, you know, that's right. Good for okay,
you know, that's right, the power zone, you know where
I can have the launch angle and I let it
set sail. But for those morning people, those dedicated individuals
you know who are up at five o'clock, hitting gym,
running miles, you know, starting their day early. Yeah, you know,

(38:26):
starting the games at eight, you know, second games starting
at ten twenty, it's not going to be for them.
But I just what makes the NAA tournament distinctive, particularly
the first weekend where the games start at twelve and
then they go go past midnight. You get a whole,
you know, second half of the day, full of sports,
and it's just a little bit different almost like you
know NBA on TNT, similar right, games first games at eight,

(38:47):
next games at like ten, and.

Speaker 12 (38:49):
It's for the night out crowd.

Speaker 14 (38:52):
But you do, you do have people that are in
that are in those hours hours.

Speaker 12 (38:56):
Excuse me. Listen to the tournament.

Speaker 14 (38:58):
Houston and Kelvin Sam's and that's the story line that
draws my attention the most. I'm for the spreading of
the wealth. I want to see Kelvin Samson getting natty.
I like to see Bruce Perl getting natty. I'd like
to see Rick Barnes get one.

Speaker 16 (39:09):
Right.

Speaker 14 (39:10):
So we have these veteran coaches that have been around
for so long, you know, but having really stepped into
the winner circle. And that was a Barnyard brawl between
them and Purdue, two solid coaches. Matt Painter on the
other side, he went to the Natty last year. I
have to get knocked out in the first round of
the year before. So he knows his business and what
an out of bounds play that he drew up. Okay,
you left the inbounds man, you know that to run

(39:31):
your scheme and go to double coverage and he's wide
open and that was the difference. So good storyline. I
like the fact it's been shock. But we're getting to
see some of these primetime matchups like tomorrow Duke and
Alabama ward Book playing out of their minds, you know,
Tennessee Houston, so making strength against strength.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
I'm loving hey right up against A good call on
Dre walked it right up to the top. I talked
about my love for Calvin Sampson. In fact, I want
to go a little bit more in depth on that
and the final play next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
You're listening no Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
We are coming to you live tonight and every night

Now you heard the update from Steve de Seger there

(40:26):
before we get back to your phone calls at eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox, and before we talk
about let me see what do we I've screwed this
list up because I want to stay with the Brown.
So I guess I'm still on number five with my
quarterback stories of the week. But here were some of
the highlights of the big moments tonight. You heard the
Houston Cougars. You know what's funny, quick, quick little aside.

(40:50):
Whenever I was in college, my roommate Robert Harris, Robert
Harris was from Houston, and Robert, if you're listening, love you,
miss you, dude. We haven't talked him, probably twenty years,
but he would always call the Houston Cougars Cougar High.
And I thought, Brie, I thought it was some sort

(41:11):
of like tip of the cap to how good they
were at football, Cougar Hi, you know, just they'd go
out and they'd roll you. And I guess it's this
very demeaning term that people use because of the academic standards.
And oh did I get in trouble with Houston fans because,
like I said, I thought it was a term of endearment.

(41:31):
I'm like, Cougar Hi rolled him, and they're like, that's
not cool, man. So whatever you do, don't call them
Cougar High because they have the heck of a head
coach and he drew up this doozy of a play
courtesy of the Westwood one NCAA Radio network.

Speaker 11 (41:47):
Smith will guard the inbounder us and ready looking Use
and holds it in his hip, fires at left.

Speaker 8 (41:54):
Side, bounce back.

Speaker 5 (41:55):
To Use, ants the rabbit.

Speaker 11 (41:56):
He lays it in the sixty two six eight tenths
of a second remaining in this one.

Speaker 3 (42:04):
Now, I am still Both Brie and I have been
looking and I did not. I guess we could probably
find the full broadcast. I still don't know why they
stopped the clock there. Purdue was out of timeouts. Kelvin
Samson didn't call a timeout. That's point eight. Ball through
the net inbound, don't. I don't know why they stopped

(42:25):
the clock, but they did, and it led to this.

Speaker 5 (42:29):
This is the ballgame runs.

Speaker 11 (42:30):
Right, throws to half court, caught by Smith, heaves it
at the rim.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
It is no good.

Speaker 11 (42:35):
Emma Houston cougars prowl past Perdue by the slimmest of margins.
Houston is on to the elite eighth, sixty two to sixty,
knocking off the.

Speaker 10 (42:48):
Boiler Makers in Indianapolis again.

Speaker 3 (42:52):
Play by Blake Got courtesy of Westwood one of the
NCAA Radio Network maybe one of the most brilliantly designed
plays of the NCAA tournament that led to the Houston wins.
So the Cougars are off to the Elite eight where
they will play Tennessee on Sunday. That's a two twenty
eastern tip.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
There he go? Is that early enough for you? Mad Dog?

Speaker 3 (43:13):
And then at five o'clock on Sunday it's Michigan State
and Auburn. We'll have highlights from those games coming up.
Don't forget today, right, Well, let's see are we today
on the West coast?

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Officially Saturday? Let's go.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
You got Texas Tech at Florida this evening at five
o'clock eastern, so that would be what three o'c No, sorry,
six o'clock eastern, five o'clock Central, three o'clock Pacific time,
followed by Alabama and Duke, which I think is going
to be a great game and bring how can we be?
How can we be an hour and four minutes into
the show and we haven't played this.

Speaker 8 (43:45):
For another three to two Lookie swings, high fly ball
let field in deep.

Speaker 5 (43:50):
This bowl's back.

Speaker 17 (43:51):
This polls don.

Speaker 5 (43:55):
Look simply tick.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
Rounds.

Speaker 11 (44:00):
Their tosses his helmet to the sky and the Dodgers
walk off Witters.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
Great call, great call by the Dodgers. What's the TV network?

Speaker 15 (44:11):
Is that?

Speaker 4 (44:12):
Joe Davis?

Speaker 12 (44:14):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (44:14):
That was awesome? He's great.

Speaker 4 (44:15):
Yeah, he's great.

Speaker 2 (44:16):
So not a bad start, not a bad start.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
I in watching this game, the bits and pieces I
was able to put together. Boy, I really got to
let some things go because the Dodgers won the World
Series last year, and you know it wasn't because of
anything incredible that their pitching staff did. But I just
was yelling at Jack Flaherty all night long. It's like,
where was this? Who is this guy? Where was this

(44:41):
in the playoffs? So someday maybe I'll let that one go. Hey,
pretty good start four and oh hey your calls? Can
the Dodgers go undefeated? I like how we're for four
games into the season, but they've already started all the
debates how the Dodgers ruined baseball? Everybody called down. We're
four games into the season. All right, big night, A

(45:02):
lot more stuff to get to in a big day. Head,
Let's go to the phones. Where would you do you
want to start? Let's see here, where do you want
to start? You want starting in Texas, Charlie. Yeah, all right,
Good morning, Charlie, Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. Thank you
for your patience. What's going on?

Speaker 18 (45:16):
Oh, I'd like to talk about some college basketball.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Let's go all right?

Speaker 18 (45:26):
Alabama rules past BYU one thirteen eight. That is some
incredible offense. Forgot his name, mark.

Speaker 5 (45:40):
Something, Mark Sears, Mark Siars.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
Yeah, pretty good, thirty four points. Just kept hitting threes.
Alabama set the record for most threes.

Speaker 18 (45:52):
Yeah, that's wild, bro.

Speaker 3 (45:55):
I think I think I want, I think I want
to be hanging out with you, Charlie. So is that
the best game of the we I'm excuse me? Was
that the best shooting performance of the weekend? Because I
thought the best game of the weekend wasn't even the
Houston game. I thought the best game of the weekend
was actually the Duke Arizona game because that was tight
down the stretch.

Speaker 2 (46:16):
Oh, no, did I take you away from your script?
My bad? Where did you want to go next? I apologize, Charlie.

Speaker 15 (46:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 16 (46:24):
Sure.

Speaker 18 (46:25):
I was kind of a little undecided for where I
wanted to go.

Speaker 2 (46:31):
Okay, what was next on the sheet? Where did you
want to go next? On the script.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
You were going to keep it open ended, see if
laying out the Alabama conversation could lead us somewhere else.
All right, let me pose this question to you then,
because I know you waited a while to get in here.

Speaker 2 (46:47):
Has it been a good tournament?

Speaker 18 (46:50):
Oh yeah, well yeah, yes, I mean you had this.
Really it's really only gotten good in the last few games, though,
would like be Aaron gaming.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
There you go. Thanks for call, Charlie. I appreciate it.
I tried. I mean I tried, you really did.

Speaker 3 (47:15):
But you know, if you're gonna give a shot, you're
gonna jump in here. I'm gonna hang with you as
long as I can. This is usually that moment where
I get five or six tweets from someone. It's like, oh,
that's old Tommy McGrew from the Ben Mallors Show, finally reemerging.
And that what happened last week with one of our callers.
I thought that girl was dead. She used to call

(47:35):
Ben's show. Thanks Charlie, but he's not wrong. In Alabama,
I don't know if I've ever seen anything like that before.
In a college basketball game period, Alabama hit twenty five
three pointers. Did you see the wild stat for that game.

(47:56):
If you took away all of the two point basket
that Alabama made against BYU, that Alabama would still win
the game. If you took away all their none three
point field goals, they would still win the game. They
made twenty five three pointers twenty five and I think
free throws would be thrown in there too, because math

(48:17):
isn't math.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
And but I was. I'm impressed.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
Now do I think they could make twenty five to
three pointers against Duke?

Speaker 2 (48:24):
No?

Speaker 3 (48:26):
I watched a lot of college Well me rephrase that.
I feel like I watch a lot of college basketball
during the season. I really do. But then we'll get
to the tournament, and at least at least five or
six times during this tournament.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
Like who's that guy? What?

Speaker 3 (48:41):
I thought he was on that team? I thought he
was there BYU by the way, low key hella Jack.
Whenever it comes to nil money, lots of nil money,
and you watch, they'll be in this situation again next year. Okay.
Chris is in Minnesota. Good morning, Chris, Welcome to five
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (49:00):
What's going on?

Speaker 16 (49:02):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (49:03):
I'm not standing man? How are you I'm dead?

Speaker 13 (49:06):
I won't talk to you about you had two choices.
You guys brought up Kirk Cousins and he brought up
Aaron Rodgers, right. I think that Aaron Rodgers should go
to Minnesota, and I think Kirk Cousins should be the
backup quarterback to Denver Denver.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
Okay, well, hold on here, I haven't even heard this.
Is this you vamping here, Chris? Or do you think
this is a possibility.

Speaker 16 (49:30):
I think that could be a possibility because the backup
quarterback they have.

Speaker 13 (49:33):
In Denver isn't that grade of a quarterback. Because he
left Minnesota to go to Denver.

Speaker 2 (49:40):
Don't they still have Jared Stidham there they do, Yeah,
And it.

Speaker 13 (49:44):
Wasn't that grade of a quarterback.

Speaker 16 (49:46):
And honestly, Cousins would be a lot better of a
backup quarterback and skin them would ever be. And if
you really think about it, and if you're going to
have a quarterback in this it's going to be a
backup to bow Nix.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
Yeah, Okay, Well, thanks for the phone call, man. There
was something where going on with the connection there, but
I appreciate it. I don't think so. I don't think
that's gonna happen. I'll tell you why. Because the Broncos
could have let stit and walk. They brought him back.

Speaker 3 (50:16):
That is now this would be what two years, that
three years, and he's been with Sean Payton and going
into his third year.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
And I just I think that.

Speaker 3 (50:29):
If you look historically at Sean Payton backups going back
to the same stay well you know, probably better than
anyone Brie is. It's not something where he'll bring in
He'll bring in some guy. They'll be there'll be a
guy that's been in a system for a while, and.

Speaker 4 (50:45):
Chase Daniel was there like ten plus years.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
Yeah, I mean, I just I don't lay hold on.
I'm gonna use a double negative here if I say
I don't not like the idea, does that make sense?
It's not like I think it's a bad idea. I
heard that right, who usk Oh, Okay, that's new. But
I think Kirk Cousins is in that group with Russell Wilson,

(51:09):
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (51:09):
Maybe Kirk Cousins like five years ago could have made that.

Speaker 6 (51:13):
Yeah, I just don't think at this point in his career, like, no,
he's not going to fit in that.

Speaker 3 (51:17):
They think they're still a starter, you know, they think
they're still starters. So I don't think they're going to
go to a place and where they know they're going
to be back.

Speaker 2 (51:25):
Now, what was his stat from two years ago?

Speaker 3 (51:28):
There was there was a wild stat in twenty twenty
four where backup quarterback, like everyone used their backup quarterback.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
Yeah, here it is in let's see here.

Speaker 3 (51:42):
In twenty twenty four there was almost there was something
ridiction you like sixty quarterbacks that ended up playing, which
you know in thirty I think about him in like
eighty Actually now looking back in a thirty two team league,
that's every team averaging like two and a half quarterbacks
per game are perceiver for the season. So everyone's going

(52:03):
to need everyone's getting the backup quarterback. But again Cousins
thinks he's just starting. He's not going to come cheap.
I'm not against it, Chris.

Speaker 2 (52:11):
I like the idea.

Speaker 3 (52:12):
I just don't think it's going to happen, all right.
Zach is in Seattle at eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. Zach, welcome to Fox Sports Radio. What's going on?

Speaker 19 (52:20):
Oh, thank you so much, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (52:23):
Thanks for calling me. Man.

Speaker 13 (52:24):
Absolutely Yeah.

Speaker 19 (52:25):
When I first called in or was listening, and it
was Aaron Rodgers and Steelers and all that and and
a little bit of Russell Wilson and I'm I've been
living in Seattle for twenty years, and what's happened to
Russell over the past four years? Three teams over four years. Now,
it's just wild with what's happened to him. But I'm

(52:48):
not going to go there. I don't I don't get
why people and teams are still giving in.

Speaker 8 (52:55):
To Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 19 (52:56):
Like if you look at like three straight NFC championship games,
they right, I think right, and lost them all. And
I think two of those three games he was very
mediocre at best. He only won one Super Bowl there,
even though he controlled the roster and it was his
way or the highway, and manipulation, Like, I don't get it,

(53:17):
and why you know? And part of that too is
I don't understand why DK from Seahawks, Right, DK metcalf,
he said, you want to be trading and go to
a contender with good weather, Well he had, he didn't.

Speaker 8 (53:27):
Have, but no trade clause.

Speaker 19 (53:29):
So they said into the Steelers and he's over there
and with no quarterback. All of this is just theffoonery
and the Steelers if they will not pick up Roggers.
There's no way, there's no way, right, who.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
Do you think when you say it's buffoonery? I don't disagree,
but who do you think it's more on? Is it
Rogers waiting? Is it the Steelers in getting the receiver
before they get the quarterback?

Speaker 20 (53:49):
Like?

Speaker 2 (53:49):
Who do you point your finger at? More?

Speaker 18 (53:51):
Oh?

Speaker 19 (53:51):
No, it's way more the five year one hundred and
fifty million or whatever the math works, thirty three thirty
times five math on that. Yeah, you're right, yeah, yeah,
without a quarterback, Like, that's not that's not the Steeler way.
And it's just it's it's weird, right, and they they've
never done that. And Mike Tomlin has never been that guy.

(54:13):
And you know so and Aaron Rodgers is not the
the fix.

Speaker 8 (54:18):
He's a bit all about him.

Speaker 19 (54:20):
That's that's not going to fit in that and that
their culture that they have, and he's he's not that.
I mean, he's good. He's got four m vps, all right,
but he's only got one super Bowl when he should
have potentially three or four with the amount of home
field advantages and everything. Right, it's like, you know, it's
it's it's uh, what's the word ridiculous. Yeah, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 12 (54:44):
Yeah, what the.

Speaker 19 (54:50):
Build up, the headlines and he's only himself. But but
then when it comes down to it, now I get
dye towards Achilles and that's fluke, okay, But I mean
the Packers didn't want him around anymore, and Jordan Love
comes in, and what did Jordan Love do? Took him
to the playoffs? You know, like this whole Rogers thing.
Just I don't get why any teams are interested in him.

Speaker 16 (55:11):
I don't get it.

Speaker 19 (55:12):
And then the fall of Russell Wilson, part of that
is definitely on Sierra because he totally changes.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Yeah, everything, at the core of every great man's fall.

Speaker 3 (55:23):
Zach is a woman. Thanks for your phone call. I
appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (55:26):
That is that me? Should I not say that it
ruined the Maverick n thanks to call Zach. See. I
think Zach and I could be friends.

Speaker 3 (55:37):
I think we could hang out because I would see
us just sitting there for four hours talking about the
quarterback situations in the NFL. I I cannot get enough
of it. And I apologize to you guys off the
top of the show. I hope you I hope you
took it.

Speaker 2 (55:52):
I get it. I'm watching.

Speaker 3 (55:54):
I'm watching the highlight of sooner great Milo Susanne take
the inbounds pass from Sooner legend Calvin Sampson's design play
and beat Purdue. The NCAA tournament is going on. I
know that NBA's playoffs are looming and there's battles going
on for some seating. I get it, But Aaron Rodgers

(56:16):
is still available. The Steelers quarterback depth chart has Mason
Rudolph and Skyler Thompson on it right now. The Browns
are being rumored connected to every quarterback, including number two
in my Stories of the week coming up next. As
far as quarterback movement is concerned, I cannot get enough
of the quarterback carrotsel Man.

Speaker 2 (56:34):
I can't, and for the most part, it's been set
real quick Mike Florio.

Speaker 3 (56:41):
Depending on how you feel about Florio, either he's somebody
who absolutely hates the NFL and is forced to cover
it or a guy who a few people talks to
and can write a lot of words with a little information.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
You pick. Pro Football Talk.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
This week has its updated Aaron Rodgers story. Six days
after Aaron Rodgers spent six hours in Pittsburgh, he still
has to sign with the team, and he has said
nothing about why he's waiting. Floy ohouted there aren't many
options at this point. Sign with the Steelers, wait for
the Vikings who haven't slammed the door on the possibility

(57:16):
of circling back to Rogers later in the offseason, retire,
or wait for a starter on another team to suffer
a season ending injury. Okay, I think there's more options
than that for Aaron Rodgers, but that's just me.

Speaker 2 (57:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (57:34):
He's I think one of the most polarizing guys that
there is. And it's funny because all these things that
we say and we perceive about him. You ask anyone
that's played in him, and it's just not really shared.
Is there enough dudes that have a podcast that used
to be teammates with Aaron Rodgers that have done a
podcast about him?

Speaker 2 (57:51):
Yeat to me?

Speaker 3 (57:51):
Come on, isn't there some retired offensive lineman I'm sure
that played with him for ten years and has a
podcast that has told us something about Aaron Rodgers and me,
come on, because everything I hear is that he's he's
a great teammate and even Jordan Loves said, Hey, that
a little rough at first. But you know, first guy
I call whenever I want a game, and first guy
call whenever they are Aaron Rodgers. I mean, it's just

(58:13):
sometimes our perception might not meet who the person actually is,
which again, go figure. All right, we do have to break.
We do have to break. It's the Plank Show here
on Fox Sports Radio. I gotta line open if you
want to jump in eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (58:59):
Twenty bred Denise? Why don't get where do they get?
Breamer reading? Marie?

Speaker 5 (59:02):
That's actually super pretty?

Fox Sports Radio with Brianna Murrow, Mark Ramsey.

Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
I'm Chris Plank and as always, well love to hear
from you.

Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
It's kind of what it's become right your calls at
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six six three sixty nine. We'll sprinkle a
couple of topics out there. Sometimes you guys want to
jump on board with where we're going. Sometimes, like I
see Poppy on Hold, he's probably got his own narrative tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
It's fine.

Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
It's fine, which every where you want to go. I
do want to, though, do a little bit of work
here to kick off this segment, because I guys said,
I've got the top five things in the quarterback rumor
mill that caught my eye this week, or at least
I found intriguing. So I'm not real familiar with the
Cleveland media. I didn't I grow up around Cleveland. I

(01:00:57):
didn't care about the Cleveland Indians until the movie Major
League came out, and then all of a sudden, I
was kind of a Cleveland fan. I mean, like most people,
I follow McNeil, so I follow at Reflogg Underscore eighteen,
so I feel like I know everything there is to
know about Cleveland sports, but I'm not real familiar with
Bruce Trinnan. So we had the Kirk Cousins Chipotle and

(01:01:21):
Barbecue spotting, and the rumor is about maybe he's a
potential option for Cleveland if they don't go quarterback postdrafts. Right,
maybe Cleveland decides to number two to take out the
Carter or Traffs Hunter or whichever direction they go, they
don't go quarterback, and right now they have who do
we say it was on the roster Kenny Pikett and
Deshaun Watson, and Watson's unlikely to play this year, right,

(01:01:45):
So maybe, just maybe they could go sign Kirk Cousins,
or or maybe this could happen.

Speaker 21 (01:01:53):
I got a pretty darn good source within the Browns organization.
I heard since our last year that part of the
reason Miles Garrett was so willing to sign this extension
for contract, yeah, money, money money. The Browns are negotiating
as we speak with the Dallas Cowboys for a trade
for Dak Prescott.

Speaker 9 (01:02:12):
Now, Prescott has a hamstring injury as we speak, and
he may not be ready for the start of training camp.
But this comes from a couple of different sources. Take
it for what it's worth. If it does come about,
remember where you heard it from. By the way, Brice,
you seem like you've been in this biz for a while.

(01:02:32):
Come on, bro, you can't couch and a report like
that with that disclaimer. It's like, we'll see if I
came on here and.

Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
Said, I've heard it from two really good sources, the
New Orleans Saints are gonna trade Derek Carr to Seattle
or something. I just make you know, and then if
I if I finished my report with but who knows,
I mean, take it for what it's worth. But if
it happens, you better remember where you heard it from.

(01:03:05):
That sounds like that's Jason smithwon Bro, that's out of
your handbook right there. I mean, that's come on, that's
that's perfect. So it didn't take too terribly long for
that to get shot down. Jane Slater, who covers the
Dallas Cowboys and covers the NFL, immediately shot down the

(01:03:25):
trade rumor surrounding Dak Pretscott. I guess she doesn't like fun,
but she's I will say, I don't know. I'm giving
all these disclaimers for these people because I don't know them.
I don't work with them. I've been around them, but
she might have given one of the most body bag

(01:03:45):
answers that I've ever seen. Whenever it comes to shooting
down a report, there's you know, there's simply the report
reactions where people say, hey, haven't heard that, don't know
if there's if there's anything to it, I'll continue to
keep my ears open and we'll kind of see where
it goes from here. You know, just doesn't seem very likely,
but we'll see where it goes from here on anything

(01:04:08):
of that nature. Well, allow me to share with you
what Jane Slater said whenever she was on the Insiders
this is on NFL dot com, whenever Mike Gara follow
asked her about the report out of Cleveland involving one
Dak Prescott.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
This is what you call it takedown.

Speaker 22 (01:04:26):
Yes, And let's also not get ahead of ourselves, because
we're talking about a quarterback, quinn Ewers, who had a
nice protein down there at Texas. But then there were
all these ridiculous rumors on the internet today that the
Cowboys were somehow engaging in a trade with the Cleveland
Browns for Dak. I can tell you, guys, a lot
of people wonder why I chase these downs. The one

(01:04:47):
thing I would say is, you never know. You do
have a new first year head coach here, we don't
typically know what he's necessarily looking for. But given the
relationship that Schattenneimer house with Dak, it just makes absolutely
no sense. If Sean He's going to be success on
this first year, wouldn't you want to go with a
quarterback that you know? Not to mention that he has
a no trade clause, and even if Dak did agree

(01:05:07):
that he wanted to be traded, the dead money that
Dallas would carry, not to mention what Cleveland would then
be hemorrhaging in cash they spent on quarterbacks in recent years.

Speaker 5 (01:05:16):
It literally is so absurd.

Speaker 3 (01:05:21):
I mean, it's okay, what's the line from Billy Madison?
A simple wrong would have been okay whenever he's failing
at the quiz. I mean a simple hey, that's not true,
but no absurd absurd? So does this mean, Bree that
of my favorite quarterback stories of the week, I can

(01:05:42):
go ahead and sharpie cross out the Browns and Dak
Prescott here.

Speaker 4 (01:05:47):
Yes, please do cross it off.

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
Well, there we go.

Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
Yeah, kind of messes my list up a little bit,
but whatever. I guess Jane Slater doesn't like fun. She
doesn't like a rumor like this going viral. By the way,
if and I have no problem with Dak Prescott. I
think he's a pretty good quarterback. But if you're Andrew
Berry and let's just say, hypothetically, oh boy, gets that report,
I don't think I would say anything because I think

(01:06:12):
I would go to Andrew Berry's office and be like, dude,
you might be dumb because if your idea in replacing
de Sean Watson would be, hey, let's go get another
often injured quarterback who's had mediocre results in the playoffs,
let's go get Dak Prescott. I mean, by the way,
the more I think about this, the more absurd it gets.

(01:06:32):
What about Dak Prescott for Browns fans would lead you
to think, hey, there's our guy.

Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
There is our dude. I mean, it tells you something.

Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
Right, We're on the powerful ticket in Dallas, We're on
the greatest sports radio station maybe on the planet in Dallas.
Do you think that anybody was calling the Musers whenever
that report came out and saying, no, no, don't trade Dak.
I mean, there's it's it's it's one thing. Whenever a

(01:07:02):
rumor like that, every boy the way again shut down
not real. Probably shouldn't be wasting time on it, but
it is funny to think that anyone would look at
that and feel like that was a viable conversation.

Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
But here we are.

Speaker 4 (01:07:16):
Remember when Otani was going to sign with the Blue Jays.

Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
Yes, show, heyl Tani is on a plane to Toronto.

Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
Let's go to the phones. Poppy is Poppy still there?
What's up Poppy in Santa?

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
How are you good?

Speaker 23 (01:07:34):
Good playing?

Speaker 15 (01:07:35):
G I'm still here?

Speaker 12 (01:07:36):
And great show? And yeah, I wanted to talk.

Speaker 15 (01:07:39):
People want to hear Poppy's big good march man is
is Duke? And Alabama's gonna be a great game? Duke
and minus six and a half. I think that's that's
a good line. It's going to be a great game.
But I think the better team is Duke. And we
got to go on baseball t a little baseball on
TONI Dodgers are four and oh and I'm loving the Dodgers.

(01:08:00):
To ride the wills, guys, is my best bet right
here till the Will's fall off with Safaki Japanese picture,
and I think it's.

Speaker 12 (01:08:09):
Gonna be great.

Speaker 15 (01:08:09):
Money line is minus one I d but you're like, hey,
there's not a really good value right there. Well, I
think the Dodgers are gonna you know, think the Tigers
and you could do the total run. Iye, minus one
and a half plus money one oh five. I'm loving that.
So that's my bet, and let's make that money and playing.

Speaker 2 (01:08:26):
Poppy mister picks, welcome back.

Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
It's food because Poppy had actually hit his picks and
then he disappeared for a couple of weeks, like he
came in and gave us a soccer pick and hit him.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
Now, I just want to tell you, I do not know.
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:08:42):
I don't bet on baseball. Well, I mean, gambling is
illegal in Bushwood, so I don't even get to gamble here.
We don't have legal wagering in nor in Oklahoma, so
I don't. I don't get to have the fun that
you people have.

Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
But baseball is I mean, is there even money to
be made? Bree betting on the Dodgers money line?

Speaker 4 (01:09:04):
Oh I don't think so, I mean I don't. I
don't see myself doing that.

Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
But Poppy said that's what he's writing. Poppy said, that's what.

Speaker 4 (01:09:13):
He's riding, so poppy picking a poppy.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
Let's see here, let's go to Tim in South Carolina.
If he's hanging in there. What's going on? Tim?

Speaker 10 (01:09:20):
How are you kay?

Speaker 16 (01:09:21):
What's going on?

Speaker 20 (01:09:22):
First time calling? How you doing?

Speaker 24 (01:09:24):
Gang?

Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
We're cooking, man? How are you?

Speaker 20 (01:09:27):
I'm doing alright, I'm doing alright. Listen. I just got
to say, uh, die hard Mets fan my entire life,
But Dodgers are going to win one twenty. Dodgers are
going to win one twenty.

Speaker 8 (01:09:41):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
What's the most wins in an MLB season? Would that be.

Speaker 20 (01:09:48):
Directing the two thousand and one Mariners?

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
That's right?

Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
And they because they broke the record of the Cups
and yeah they got beating the playoffs right, yep, yep.

Speaker 20 (01:09:58):
But yeah, Dodgers.

Speaker 12 (01:09:59):
I mean, just it's just an insane lineup.

Speaker 8 (01:10:02):
This has got to be what it was must have
been like.

Speaker 20 (01:10:06):
One hundred years ago when people were watching the Yankees.
I mean, they just got an insane lineup and all
the pitching that they loaded up on over the winter.
I mean, uh, I mean, of course I'm I'm rooting of,
you know, for my Mets to go all the way.

Speaker 13 (01:10:24):
But man, I mean, the Dodgers are just a juggernaut.

Speaker 23 (01:10:29):
And and hey, even if you.

Speaker 20 (01:10:31):
Hate the Dodgers, I mean, it was nice to see
the Mookie, I mean, after literally dropping his dropping his
stomach for the last three weeks, you know, pulling off
those two uh two homers. That was incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
By the way, Hey, I like your Mets. I like
your Mets a lot. I mean.

Speaker 20 (01:10:55):
A lot to I definitely think, you know, come deadline,
they're gonna need to shore up that rotation. But they're solid.
They are definitely solid this year.

Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
Hey, Tim, thanks for the phone call. First time, perfect
time call, all the time. Here's what it sounded like
tonight when one Sodo got his first Mets home run
and the Pits.

Speaker 25 (01:11:19):
Swang in a high drive right field toward the wall,
gone off the facing of the second decade right one
Soto's first home run as.

Speaker 5 (01:11:30):
A New York Met three nothing New York in the
top of the third.

Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
The Mets would go on to beat the Astros three
to one, getting their first win of the season as
Sodo hits his first home run. By the way, the
Braves felt oh two tonight as they fall to the
Padres four to three. Okay, when we come back to
the tyrack dot Com studios, we'll be headed to Texas.

Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
We'll be heading out to Idaho and Oregon.

Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
Plus heretown at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
nine nine six six, three sixty nine plus I'm gonna
sprinkle in the third story. So we had Brown's Kirk Cousins,
Brown's Dak Prescott River that got absolutely to Kimbae Matombo
by James Slater. But the third story was trying to
figure out exactly what's going on with the Vikings. And

(01:12:19):
there's two parts to it. We'll bring you I guess
part one next right here on Fox Sports Radio. All
right with Mark and Bry I'm playing this is the
Plank Show on Fox Sports Radio. We got Fridays, Bernie's
got your overnights on Saturdays. And did you say that
I know this is like a way too early, probably tease,

(01:12:40):
but you say big ants out today on the Fellas.

Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
Yeah, So we're gonna have Jason martin In with Jason Fitz.
I got Jason to this Jason Squared.

Speaker 2 (01:12:47):
Does does fits get to talk as much Raiders as
he wants to or not?

Speaker 4 (01:12:52):
He does? He does, So maybe we'll have some extra
Raiders today.

Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
One of these days, one of these days, well Kfig's
a big Raiders fan. To one of these days, Jason
fit is gonna have to come on near that final segment.
We can just do Raiders talk for the final hour
this program. But we do have things coming out. We
got Breeze three that are right around the corner, and
I well, let me just pay off on one part
of this with the with the Vikings this week, Minnesota,

(01:13:18):
I think made it clear that they weren't going to
be pursuing Aaron Rodgers, I think, but yet throughout the
whole process, like they keep they keep talking about them.
So this week, the general manager of the Vikings, Quezi
Edofo Mensa, was asked about Aaron Rodgers. Now, again, like

(01:13:42):
I said, asked a question has to give the answer
or rephrase that asked the question. Ninety percent of the
time for GMS, whenever question is asked about the pursuit
of a player, maybe another free agent, the.

Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
Answer is very bland. What's it this? Because I'm not
going to lie to you.

Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
I think it's one of the more in depth things
you'll hear from a GM talking about a guy that's
not on their team.

Speaker 17 (01:14:11):
I understand that Aaron Rodgers you know this organization and
has known for a long time on the opposing sideline,
you know, talking about a great player, a Hall of Famer,
So I understand that. I'll always say, is it's our
job as a personnel group to make sure we're aware
of every potential option. You know, we want to make
sure that there's a competition in the room to make
sure that if you remember last offseason when JJ and
Sam are really competing, that brought the best out of

(01:14:31):
both of them. And so you want an environment that's
like that, a supportive environment to also just challenge each
other but grow and learn and all those different things.
And so we're trying to solve for a lot of
different things at once, and you know, from all those
conversations comes to list of names and maybe an order
and an intentional plan and how the best solve for
those things. So you know, player like him is always
going to be in those conversations. But you know from

(01:14:51):
our you know, delineations at that time where we're happy
with where we are going forward. But you know, obviously
the caliber player and just you know, all those is
just we had to make.

Speaker 3 (01:14:59):
Our happy where we are going forward, but yet still
a quarterback like that. The current we've been real big
tonight on current rosters, the current Vikings quarterback room. JJ McCarthy,
who's coming off in acl and Brett Rippin Brett Ripping

(01:15:22):
so just weird, you know, I think, you know, listening
to that for about the fifteenth time, it's a little
bit more g emmy than I thought, right because he
did say, hey, listen, that's Aaron Rodgers. Here's what we
want to do with that room. But that little thing
at the end, bree right, that's still to me where
he's like, you know, it's a great player, kind of
left the door open a little bit, I thought for

(01:15:44):
Aaron Rodgers still in Minnesota. The other I guess we'll
just go ahead and finish this off. The other part
of the Minnesota thing that was interesting was JJ McCarthy's
appearance on some I don't you know what was JJ
McCarthy's the random podcast that he showed up on or was.

Speaker 4 (01:15:59):
That that was Brock Purty. It looks like a duck
Dynasty kind of looking podcast.

Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
Yeah, where is he on?

Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
But JJ McCarthy came out and basically said, yeah, I
haven't been told on the starting quarterback yet, So I mean,
I don't know if he's done that thing where you
look at the roster and realize that it's you or
bread ripping buddy.

Speaker 22 (01:16:19):
But here you go, we as a fan base or
even media found out like you're the guy, v the
guy recently?

Speaker 1 (01:16:28):
When did you know?

Speaker 5 (01:16:29):
When did they tell you?

Speaker 4 (01:16:30):
Or when was that message to you?

Speaker 15 (01:16:32):
They haven't told men.

Speaker 26 (01:16:33):
I'm happy they didn't because I try to earn it
every single day and I never want that to be
given to me. And it's such a privileged and opportunity
to give that give me that chance, and I'm just
going to make the most of it every single day.

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Vikings now from chat sports.

Speaker 3 (01:16:49):
We have too many podcasts anyway, there you go, So
the Viking day, we're comfortable where the room is going forward.
But you know, yeah, the Aaron Rodgers out there still
JJ's the guy and they oh when do they tell you?
Well they haven't yet.

Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
Like is that?

Speaker 3 (01:17:05):
Is this as confusing as it can possibly be? With
the mixed signals? It seems like they're maybe our poll
for net maybe by next week if this is still
like it, isbury, our pool should be who has the
most confusing quarterback situation right now, Minnesota, Pittsburgh or what
maybe Cleveland would go on on mix right because it
seems like it should be JJ McCarthy with Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (01:17:27):
He's like, they haven't told me yet.

Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
Steelers spent a bunch of money on receivers, don't have
a quarterback, and I have no idea who's going to
be the guy Cleveland next year. It's confusing, is all
get out. And by the way, Minnesota is a good team.
All right, let's get back to the phones. In eighty seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six six three six nine, I want to get up
to Idaho.

Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
I want to I want to talk to Jet Fueld. George.
It's been too long. What's going on, George? How are you?

Speaker 19 (01:17:54):
Man?

Speaker 8 (01:17:55):
It's an honor be on your show, Chris, you'd have
to tell me the year. But I listen to your
very first your very first time on Fox Sports on
the weekend when we were covering for Ben.

Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
Yeah, it was like twenty years ago. Man, I was
over five.

Speaker 8 (01:18:07):
I think I was. I think I was shooting Shahga
shows at Clay Pigeons, training my dogs or something. Drinking, drinking,
corps lights or something. It's awesome. It's really nice to
hear you sound a little bit more slave. I mean,
you're you're show.

Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
I'm old.

Speaker 8 (01:18:22):
I'm older. And the call the collscreator was phenomenal because
once in a while I pull out the Jeff Field
George thing and they say, what, you can't use that?
And I appreciate that she let me use that. I
know you're talking football, but I have to tell you.
You know, when Colin Kaepernick ruined my forty nine ers
by taking the knee, that was one thing. And you know,
I've always been a running back guy for the NFL,

(01:18:44):
you know, because I grew up. I grew up with
Earl Campbell and Walter Payton. You know, to be a
team in the NFL, you had to have a great
running back. And even this year it showed with the
forty nine ers a great team without McCafferty and they
were dunk. They were nothing. So but I have Can
I talk Lakers a little bit? I know you're yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
I got about a minute, so make it quick, George,
I will make it quick.

Speaker 8 (01:19:06):
First of all, Lebron James when he first came to
Lakers we all thought coach Killer is going to do everything.
He's turned into totally the opposite. And I really appreciate
what JJ Reddick's doing. And I'd like everybody to pull
up the twenty and twenty one draft where Austin Reeves
denied going to the Pistons on the forty second and
look at the top ten draft choices in the two

(01:19:27):
thousand and twenty one draft and see where you would
put off from Austin Reeves. And I think that's all
I got. I think the Lakers with Daun Jake, with
Daun Jake, I think hopefully they'll straighten up. But anyways, playing,
it's good to hear you. I just got a got
out from the bar late. I'm over sixty now. I
usually don't stay up this late. It's really nice to

(01:19:48):
hear you.

Speaker 2 (01:19:49):
Thank you.

Speaker 8 (01:19:49):
Really put together a great show.

Speaker 2 (01:19:51):
Brother, See you by. That's Jetfield, George. All right, a
lot to unpacked.

Speaker 3 (01:19:55):
Let's take the top of the hour to fix the
Lakers problems and talk about it next to stick around.

Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:20:03):
Here we go, It's The Plank Show on Fox Sports Radio.
We are coming to you live from the tire rack
dot com Studios. Tire rack dot com will help you
get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road
hazard protection, over and over ten thousand recommended installers.

Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
Tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
Now, I did want to hit on one thing that
jet Field George mentioned in his call, and then we'll
get to the get back to the phones at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. I do think that, unfortunately,
at the expense of the Lakers, we probably got one
of the best regular season moments in the NBA last night, now,

(01:20:47):
two nights ago. I guess in Chicago whenever. I don't
know what Lebron was doing on the inbound pass offensively,
but it was it was honestly, I'm this is no
BS and this isn't my Sooner homerism coming out. It
was probably one of the greatest TV calls that we've

(01:21:10):
ever had. Now it is our breaking. Don't get me wrong,
because you thought you thought that it was over right.
You thought, oh my gosh, Austin Reeves just won it
for the Lakers, But then then this happened, and I.

Speaker 11 (01:21:27):
Was shot before that, here's Reeves leaves straight.

Speaker 12 (01:21:31):
To the top.

Speaker 5 (01:21:35):
Pose a lot of timeouts two seconds Lef dag.

Speaker 23 (01:21:38):
It for the weave.

Speaker 5 (01:21:43):
I did believe this.

Speaker 11 (01:21:52):
Unbelievable, impossible, Kitty good Day.

Speaker 27 (01:21:56):
Mac.

Speaker 3 (01:21:59):
Stacy King singer, legend, rock star, and whoever is the director?
And I don't know what the bull is the Bulls
TV eating is like Marquee or something along those lines.
Whoever that director was, pay him or her all the
money because immediately getting the shot of the Laker fan
just standing there, like I think most Laker fans were

(01:22:22):
watching that, where you just uh, okay, whatever, the Bulls
are suddenly okay, they're not bad, They're not terrible.

Speaker 2 (01:22:29):
There are they good?

Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
Did it take getting rid of zach Lavine to unlock
the bulls full potential?

Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:22:36):
But beyond that kind of head scratching moment, Brie, where
is your concern level right now? Because we haven't talked
a lot of NBA tonight, nor probably have we in
the short history of this show. You know, I take
that back. Our first show was All Star Weekend. We
spent the whole show talking about the NBA's image and
who they are and who's to face the NBA and
that sort of stuff. But anyway, We're not here to

(01:22:57):
talk about every show we've ever done. We're here to
talk about the Lakers. And George's point, they're starting to
tumble a little bit in the seating. I don't I'm
not gonna say anything, because every single time I try
to project something with the Lakers, it goes wrong. They're
no longer I think in play for the two seed.
Looks like Houston's looks like the Houston Rockets are in

(01:23:18):
really good shape for that. They're closer to the seven
in the playing tournament than they are to the two.
It's been a rough stretch. They're just four and six
in their last ten, and let's face it, some of
the losses have been pretty embarrassing. There was a thirty
one point loss to the Bulls. I still don't know

(01:23:39):
what was going on in that Bucks game where they
lost by one hundred and twelve points.

Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
What's going on?

Speaker 3 (01:23:46):
Is there cause for concern right now amongst Laker fans?
Or are you in the same boat that jet Field
George was, where it's hey, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:23:53):
Going to be fine.

Speaker 4 (01:23:55):
That's how I feel. I think it's going to be fine.

Speaker 6 (01:23:56):
I think this is kind of just the growing pains
of just everybody adjusting to each other, trying to make
those like dumb mistakes before the postseason.

Speaker 4 (01:24:05):
So I mean that's how I kind of see it.

Speaker 6 (01:24:07):
I think once the you know, if they in the playoffs,
if they start to click, great, and if they don't,
that's totally fine with me too, because you know, I'm
not a Laker fan.

Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
No, I know your son's fan.

Speaker 5 (01:24:18):
Yeah, which is.

Speaker 4 (01:24:19):
Even worse, honestly, So what do I have to say
four and.

Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Eight in their last twelve? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:24:27):
I'm I've got the concern like I've got I see,
I'm a Laker honk Okay, who is is slide who
slid himself into the thunderbandwagon over the last couple of
seasons because I live in Oklahoma City. But I don't
understand what's gone wrong. I have no clue and it
makes no sense to me. Lebron looked disinterested late in

(01:24:53):
that game against the Bulls, and I'm not here to
pile on Lebron.

Speaker 4 (01:24:56):
He's busy fighting with Stephen A.

Speaker 15 (01:24:58):
Smith.

Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
Chris, Can I tell you a story that I have
no time for it? I mean, if I ever you
know Arnie always songs, why punched them in the face.
No you wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:25:09):
I mean, do you see Lebron James standing next to
NFL players jumping on the TV at acting like you're
gonna swing on Lebron James has got to be one
of the top five funniest things I've ever seen in
my life.

Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
But anyway, I digress.

Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
They've got Memphis tonight, then they get Houston at home
on Monday, and the rest of the way.

Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
They might have one of the.

Speaker 3 (01:25:34):
More difficult schedules, right I know, Portland's in there, but
just about every team they've got outside of Portland in
New Orleans is playoff team right now. So we're gonna
learn a lot about the Lakers. I'll tell you what.
I don't think it behooves them to end up in
the in the playing tournament, which they're not going on
the door of right now. You know the other side
of it. The Mavericks got healthy. Now they're in a

(01:25:56):
fight with your sons for that final playing tournament spot.
But Anthony Davis look good getting back. I mean, the
Warriors have been a different team with Jimmy Butler. Suddenly,
the Clippers are playing really good basketball. Why he's healthy.
They're eight in their last ten games. I don't know,
just maybe there are better storylines here than I realized

(01:26:18):
heading down the home stretch of the NBA. Maybe maybe
it deserves more than I've given it. All Right, Breeze
threes coming up right around the corner. I've got my
plank parlay as well before we get out of here,
and I have the final couple of pieces of my
five favorite football stories, five favorite quarterback stories. I'm sorry
from the NFL this week. Let me go ahead and

(01:26:39):
get a couple of calls in here before we put
a rap on the phones for the night. At eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six six three six nine, Rob is in Orlando.

Speaker 2 (01:26:50):
Rob, Welcome to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:26:52):
What's up man, Hey Chris.

Speaker 8 (01:26:54):
Good to be on with you guys again.

Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
Thanks Rob.

Speaker 8 (01:26:57):
I gotta tell you, man, you're talking about the the
quarterback situations across the league earlier, and I think it
would be absolutely fascinating to listen to a press conference
with a potential guys quarterback room of Jamis Russell and
Shadur Sanders. That would be just pure entertainment to get
those three guys up on the dais together.

Speaker 2 (01:27:17):
Do you think that's the direction they're going to go
in the draft, because I kind of do.

Speaker 8 (01:27:21):
Mean, it doesn't make sense, but yes, I do think
that's what they're gonna do. I'm a Steeler fan. I
would have just kept Russ and drafted Jackson Dark. But
you know, at the end of the day, that would
just be pure hilarity to hear those three talks.

Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
So what you're sitting right now with the Steelers at
twenty two and I don't see a lot of projections
yet that have them going dark.

Speaker 2 (01:27:44):
I love your idea, but I'm just I'm really and
I'm with you one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (01:27:48):
Let's get that press conference going, and I want the
first question, but I do want to know what you
guys do because I love the roster, right, I love
what you guys have defensively in Pittsburgh. Obviously you had
a playmaker. It's been a lot of money on it
with DK Metcalf, But are they really going to trust
this to a rookie quarterback?

Speaker 2 (01:28:03):
Are they going to run it back with Mason Rudolph? Like,
what what do you think the plan is there?

Speaker 27 (01:28:07):
Chris? I think we're just in no man's land.

Speaker 8 (01:28:09):
To be very honest with you, We're just in such
a tough spot. I was so surprised by the metcalf
signing because that's so unusual. But I liked it. I mean,
I would have liked Rogers, but it's drug out so
far now I don't want any part of it. So
you know what, Rudolph, although not you know, an all
world quarterback, he's a really serviceable backup or plug in guy.

(01:28:32):
And yeah, Jackson dert Biden already to start NFL. So
we literally are sitting there and have been for the
last few years with a super Bowl level defense is
getting older and you know, struggling to figure out what's
going on at offense.

Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
Hey, buddy, appreciate you phone call, good stuff as always. Well,
since he mentioned it, let me just go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
I I guess.

Speaker 3 (01:28:52):
So my five quarterback stories this week the Browns and
that that stupid Dak rumor, but also the pictures was
he drinking beer pictures.

Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
That were floating around out there.

Speaker 3 (01:29:06):
We talked about the Aaron Rodgers stuff with the Vikings
and even the Vikings GM commenting on it. We had
JJ McCarthy saying, they haven't told me I'm the man,
and now you have a quarterback room in New York,
at least for now that has mister unlimited in Russell
Wilson and Jameis Winston, who bree. You can attest to

(01:29:28):
this probably as beloved of a bad quarterback as there's
ever been in.

Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
The history of the league. I mean, Saints fans, they
still love this dude.

Speaker 6 (01:29:36):
He was like a big deal during the Super Bowl.
Did you see him all over? He like he's great.
I mean as an entertainer, I don't know this.

Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
This is the kind of stuff from Russell Wilson too,
that I think drives people crazy.

Speaker 28 (01:29:51):
Expect get started coming here and be graded rock and
roll every day.

Speaker 24 (01:29:54):
To build a lead.

Speaker 28 (01:29:55):
I think this team is really looking for somebody to
lead them in every way in terms of the process,
you know, in the off season, during the season, our
habits and our thought process, and how we create a
you know, a great winning culture, and how do we
continue to establish that and and to really build on
all the things that we do well and the things
that we continue to.

Speaker 8 (01:30:13):
Need to do.

Speaker 3 (01:30:13):
Do you know what, I just I can't stand him,
even even the way that he said rock and roll.
I'm like, oh gosh, we're gonna get in here and
we got rock and roll. No see I you'll see
the hate, right, There'll be people that tweetze like I
can't listen to you, I hate you. I hope you
well you don't get that far. But I thank God

(01:30:33):
already's on with Harmon. I don't have to listen to
you with whatever. I hate to think that people feel
that way about me, because I'm sure that's akin to
how I feel about Russell Wilson. Every single time he talks,
it's like, oh my gosh, stop talking, isn't it wild?

Speaker 12 (01:30:53):
Like what.

Speaker 3 (01:30:54):
You have two guys in Brian Dable and Joe Shane
who are coaching and roster building for their lives, and
your plan is Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
Like, what are we doing?

Speaker 5 (01:31:13):
What are we doing?

Speaker 20 (01:31:14):
Bre?

Speaker 2 (01:31:14):
What are we doing?

Speaker 16 (01:31:15):
Mark?

Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
And I'm looking at these projections.

Speaker 3 (01:31:19):
CBS Sports has a bunch of dudes I've never heard
of doing mock drafts. But Pete Prisco's pretty well respected guy.
He has the Giants taking Sanders at third at three.
I have no idea who Kyle Stackpole is or who
Garrett Podle is, but Potle has him taking Shadoor Sanders

(01:31:40):
at three, Let's see where is Where is Ryan Wilson?
Ryan Wilson? He has Travis Hunter going three and Chador
falling to the Raiders at six. So I don't I
don't know what the feel or what the vibe is.
If Hey, we're bringing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in
here because we want to get that crazy quarterback room
and we're going to train up Shadoor Sanders.

Speaker 2 (01:32:02):
But if my job's on the line and I need
a quarterback, I don't know if that's the direction I go.
Andy's in Oregon. What's going on? Andy, Welcome to Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (01:32:12):
How's it going Andy?

Speaker 2 (01:32:13):
It's awesome.

Speaker 8 (01:32:14):
How are you?

Speaker 27 (01:32:15):
I'm pretty good to help you and your merry band
of misfits are having a good time. I had two
quick takes. The first one is for the you know,
the march madness. I was really interested in seeing how
Arizona played out so I could see how shoot your
show tomorrow is going to turn out, because hey, Arnie, yeah,

(01:32:36):
is insane. And then for the football, I think Aaron
Rodgers just needs to retire because I've never been really
impressed with them and he's just not playing well, and
I think he's just it's too full and stuff. I
think everyone just needs to be over with it.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
I wonder if that's where this thing. And thanks to
the phone call, yeah, man, I was.

Speaker 3 (01:32:56):
I was getting a little bit worried that if Arizona
came back in one game that it was gonna make
my Sunday night incredibly miserable. I will say, if you
want to have some fun, if you love Arnie Spaniel
like I do, go on the podcast page and listen
to last Sunday show in the second hour, because that
was right during the Arizona Oregon game and we were

(01:33:21):
living and dying every single play live on the air
and it was fantastic. Which, by the way, all of

It'll make his day.

Speaker 3 (01:33:47):
And again, search Foxsports Radio dot com wherever you get

morning show posted right after we get off the air.
All right, I want to get one more call in
here before you get my final quarterback note from the week.
And if there is one thing I can say about
Mike the leprechaun in Boston, my man stays engaged throughout
the week. Mike, you get the official final word on

(01:34:09):
the phone tonight. What's going on, buddy?

Speaker 2 (01:34:11):
How are you.

Speaker 13 (01:34:15):
This is a goose?

Speaker 2 (01:34:17):
Was that a goose call?

Speaker 23 (01:34:19):
This is the goose that prank's been Mallow yesterday?

Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
Oh that's the goose that pranked Bin mallor yesterday. Okay,
oh my god.

Speaker 23 (01:34:28):
There they were twisting and not slopping. They thought it
was a real goose to my house.

Speaker 2 (01:34:35):
How are you dealing with Lorraine? Are you guys getting
along yet? Or is this a relationship?

Speaker 20 (01:34:39):
No?

Speaker 13 (01:34:39):
No, no, no, And I've tried everything.

Speaker 3 (01:34:43):
No no, if ever tried flowers, no, I'm not. I mean,
you're a leprechaun man, you pop those things. You get
flowers everywhere. Just you know, send her get on the
good side.

Speaker 2 (01:34:56):
Mike.

Speaker 23 (01:34:57):
I'm yeah, no, yeah, so blind Scott to see if
I call your show.

Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
I think he has seems like you got a look,
do you have a feud going with blind Scott right now?

Speaker 20 (01:35:08):
He's going, yeah, everyone is.

Speaker 23 (01:35:11):
They're all I think I get too much attention from
Ben Aller and they're all jealous.

Speaker 2 (01:35:15):
So they're getting too much attention from Ben. I hear you.

Speaker 18 (01:35:18):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 23 (01:35:20):
So anyway, the goose was the best prank I've ever
done with them.

Speaker 15 (01:35:22):
We did anyway, there was a guy and.

Speaker 24 (01:35:24):
I was in honored.

Speaker 23 (01:35:25):
We made Sharviy from Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (01:35:26):
So they thought they thought there was a goose during
your call while you're I haven't to listen to yet.

Speaker 23 (01:35:32):
Okay, so this is the goose.

Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
Okay.

Speaker 23 (01:35:38):
They kept thinking it was a real goose, and we
were doing a little stick and the goose came in
a few times and every time they did that they
cracked up.

Speaker 13 (01:35:47):
But anyway, before there.

Speaker 12 (01:35:49):
Was some box.

Speaker 23 (01:35:50):
So I'm not going to talk to night.

Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
What what did you just say?

Speaker 23 (01:35:52):
I said, I am allowing you to talk.

Speaker 2 (01:35:55):
Oh we're having a conversation here.

Speaker 3 (01:35:58):
Oh I'm sorry, I guess so the goose and now
what I mean, where do we want to go next
with this conversation. I know it's my kind of job
to lead on this front, but I feel like I'm
along for the ride or whenever you break out sound effects.

Speaker 23 (01:36:09):
No, you're not along for the Red Sox's Red Sox.

Speaker 3 (01:36:12):
Everyone seems to like them. I mean, I'm not going
to be able to gauge anything off two games so far,
are you?

Speaker 23 (01:36:16):
I don't love that. No, But the Dodgers are at
four and zero. That's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:36:20):
Pretty good. But they played two games overseas. They got
a jump start. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:36:25):
It took everything to win tonight. Why do you the
Red Sox lost to night to Texas so one one
right now? But let me ask you this, why do
you feel like the Red Sox odds are so good
this year? In fact, if you were to look in
Major League Baseball, I think we got these from Sports
Betting Dot ag. The Red Sox had one of the
most improved odds from the end of last season to

(01:36:45):
the start of this season to make the World Series.

Speaker 2 (01:36:47):
Mike, why do you think that is?

Speaker 27 (01:36:49):
I believe there's a few reasons.

Speaker 23 (01:36:50):
They have new players that they are after upgrading, but
they are big, bigger stars, and they have a very
strong in house. Young team are saying that because of
that they couldn't they might be good for not just
this year, but for the next four or five years.

Speaker 19 (01:37:06):
So they have a very.

Speaker 23 (01:37:07):
Solid base for a team m because they finally invested
John Henry finally spent a few pennies to buy some
good players.

Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
All right, hey, Mike from Mike the Lepko, anything else
you want to add before we get out of here.

Speaker 23 (01:37:21):
Um, the Pats have a new player as well, so
I think, all right, anyway, I wanted to hide the breeze.

Speaker 15 (01:37:28):
I'm not on our bets right yet.

Speaker 4 (01:37:30):
No, absolutely not.

Speaker 13 (01:37:31):
Keep it up and the who said bye so bye?

Speaker 3 (01:37:40):
Oh my gosh, Stefan Diggs is the new addition to Patriots.
I don't know, I don't know what to think about it,
but I'll say this much. I still think he's a
good player. I still think he's the guy that can
get your yards, can each your point receiver such a
weird position in the NFL. You know, we're like, we're

(01:38:03):
like five years removed from Juju Smith Schuster being the
talk of the off season whenever he's with the Steelers
and dude, he's too busy to do with take top dances.
And then he ends up signing nearly sign with the
Ravens and then he's just gone, like what happened to him?
And he suddenly resurfaces and now he's become kind of
a regular part of the Chiefs. I kind of feel

(01:38:24):
like Stefan Diggs. Is that Stefan Diggs gets traded to
the Bills. Oh my gosh, Allan digs together, it's gonna
be amazing. Kind of doesn't work. He's off to Houston.
Oh my gosh, Stefon Diggs. Houston. He's gonna help out
the young quarterback and Cejstck. Then all that saddens like
ah in the third fourth wave of free agency, he
finally signs with the Patriots. Like receiving the receiver positions

(01:38:47):
just weird, man, and especially how quickly teams just jump
off a certain player or how quickly their skill set
might diminish. All Right, The other thing from the quarterbacks said,
thank you, Mike, appreciate the phone call. The final thing,
real quick for the quarterback position that caught my eye
this week was cam Ward's Pro Day and then in
that the NFL Draft kind of leading up to where

(01:39:09):
we are, there was cam Ward basically laying out, Hey,
my goal today was to leave no doubt and let
the Titans know that I should be the number one
pick in this draft.

Speaker 29 (01:39:21):
I said, I'm solidifying it today, and.

Speaker 8 (01:39:26):
They heard you.

Speaker 30 (01:39:27):
I made sure they heard me. So I guess off
that tip. The Titans obviously have the number one overall pick.
They like you, they've had you in the building. What
did you want to show them today?

Speaker 29 (01:39:38):
I said, not only showing number every other teams, just
throwing on rhythm where there's three steps on rhythm, five
steps on rhythm for under in the gun, heavy play action,
h you know, gun five with moving outside of the pockets.
Just showing them all you know under center stuff that
I didn't get to show as much during the season.
Let it know that I'm capable of it because the
end of the day, the NFL is not playing on
the center all the time. They're in the gun. But

(01:39:59):
you gotta be able to do it. And so that
was the main focus for me. The other that is
just making it all about about my receiver. Seanna Throwdem
catchup with balls, mat sure and I have bass at
the ground. We had a couple, but the d of
the day, you ain't gonna be perfect. You always got
stuff to get better.

Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
And then you had because Schador Sanders. I don't know
how to put this. I think Shouldoor Sanders is a
terrible interview. I mean, just a terrible interview.

Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
And I can't help but wonder if that's something that's
hurting him in this process, because he so whenever we're
not getting much from him, it's on Deon Sanders to
kind of speak for his kid.

Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
Shador.

Speaker 24 (01:40:31):
It's told me he's talked to me intently about all
the business he's had with all the teams.

Speaker 2 (01:40:36):
So I know where his heart is.

Speaker 24 (01:40:37):
I know where he wants to go. If it's New York,
it's New York, if it's Tennessee, if it's Cleveland, if
it's still the Raiders, if it's New Order, if it's
any of those teams that are seeking a quarterback. I'm
happy with it, man, because I know what he's gonna
do to the organization. I know what he's gonna do.

Speaker 2 (01:40:53):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
So that was I guess a little bit of draft
pre prep there from cam Ward and then of course
from what we heard from not Shador Sanders, but from
coach pron I still think that I still think the
lowest that Shadoor Sanders is going to go in the
first round is nine to New Orleans, but there's also

(01:41:15):
a part of you that thinks it could be six
to the Raiders. I still think he's in play at
six for the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (01:41:20):
I really do.

Speaker 3 (01:41:21):
All Right, quick break, When we come back, it's time

So it's time for Breeze threes.

Speaker 5 (01:42:41):
Let's do it, not one, not two, but three. It's entertainment.

Speaker 1 (01:42:49):
It's good.

Speaker 3 (01:42:52):
It's breeze three three three three. All right, Bri take
it away. Where are we going today? What what's our
what's our angle? What's our motivation?

Speaker 6 (01:43:01):
So our angle is obviously baseball season is underway, and
so many different baseball teams are kind of like revamping
their menu. So the Dodgers added like a cat to
kind of sandwich kind of deal, some Korean chicken. Also
like the sixteen inch hot dog thing. Also, I don't

(01:43:22):
know if you heard about that.

Speaker 24 (01:43:24):
I did.

Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
Are people wanting bigger hot dogs? I mean?

Speaker 10 (01:43:28):
Is this is this?

Speaker 2 (01:43:29):
What we're crying out for a ball games anyway, Goad no, no.

Speaker 4 (01:43:32):
So anyway, So that was like a few things.

Speaker 6 (01:43:34):
And then other teams, I guess, like the Yankees did
like a tearmisu and like a helmet, and then the
Phillies did a s'mores cassadilla.

Speaker 4 (01:43:42):
So those were just some of the things that I saw.
So it just kind of, you know, kind of cheesy.

Speaker 6 (01:43:47):
But gottd of caught me thinking, what are three things
that you'd eat at a baseball game? And nothing's so
crazy and something with random just like that, You're just like,
I'm going to a baseball game, and these are the
three things that I really eat.

Speaker 2 (01:43:58):
Things I need And this is we're as a fan.
We're not working, We're going.

Speaker 4 (01:44:02):
We're going as a fan. We bought our ticket whatever.

Speaker 6 (01:44:04):
So my first thing is I want a beer, Like
I justly, absolutely I.

Speaker 4 (01:44:11):
Just want a beer.

Speaker 6 (01:44:12):
And you know what, I'm not actually I'm gonna even
like spice it up. I love Michialattas, like I just
kind of got into them within the last like year
or two, trying to like show what kind of like
Mexican pride that I have. It's very little, but yeah,
I love michilatta is like big fan. And then maybe
like some chimoy on, like the rim.

Speaker 4 (01:44:27):
I think love that. So that's the first thing.

Speaker 6 (01:44:30):
The second thing is I love nachos, and even though
they're a little messy, I mean I just love like
the cheese and the halapennos.

Speaker 4 (01:44:38):
So can eat some of that for sure. So I
got a beer, I.

Speaker 6 (01:44:41):
Got some holopennos. And then my third thing, and I've
been just kind of kind of debating between like a.

Speaker 4 (01:44:47):
Hot dog or popcorn. I'm just gonna go a hot
dog because I just think that's just super classic. And
that's just like those are just the three things that scream.

Speaker 6 (01:44:55):
Baseball to me. I don't need Tierra Masou in a helmet.
I don't need a corn dog it's covered in some
kind of green powder.

Speaker 4 (01:45:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:45:03):
This is all just like a ton of like money
gouging kind of things that the you know, the teams
are doing, which I totally respect to what you gotta do.
But I just love like three the most basic things.
So ca beer, nachos with a ton of hall of
pennios and cheese, and then a hot dog.

Speaker 2 (01:45:20):
All right, which way? Which way are you going?

Speaker 7 (01:45:22):
Mark, what's your three So my three things at a
baseball game. I'm a big fan of the personal sized pizza.
Oh okay, we get you know, sausage and green popper.
Just one all those little little ones and just enjoy
that and keep my friends from trying to grab a
piece of us. So that's the first part, right, second thing,

(01:45:44):
if I could, if baseball stadiums did this, I would
try to have a giant Turkey club sandwich.

Speaker 2 (01:45:55):
I'm crazy, just giant with the feel somewhat healthy too.
Having a Turkey club all right, well, just the Turkey
Club with the bacon. It's more for the bacon than
the and the turkey kicks the bacon. Everybody loves bacon.

Speaker 7 (01:46:06):
And then I guess the third thing. There was something
in San Diego and also that was in Angels Park.
There's this giant dog that has various things and coal
slaw on it. Oh, those are just the greatest inventions
for a baseball park.

Speaker 2 (01:46:24):
This giant piece of.

Speaker 7 (01:46:26):
You know, giant bun, giant hot dog, various things on
it with coalslaw.

Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
I don't it's just omake. So those are my three things.

Speaker 7 (01:46:35):
Personal pizza, Turkey club, and a gigantic hot dog with
coldslaw on.

Speaker 3 (01:46:41):
It allow me to be the one person that kind
of points out one obvious thing. I have three kids,
and when I go to a ball game, it's it's
at least two of them are with me. All all
of your food's overpriced. Number one people, Okay, number one.
Every concession item is overpriced. I'm simp I'm very basic,

(01:47:04):
I'm hot dog, I'm nacho's, I'm beer. We'd have a
great time together, breed, we'd have the same order. But
there's some things that you mentioned that you talked about
new items right at ballparks. There's one that I heard
this week that I had to dig up because I
didn't think it was real. But apparently at Rangers games

(01:47:27):
they have something called the boomstick Burrito. It's a new
addition to the Rangers menu, and it is a this
is their term, not mine. This is a much fancier
term than I would use. A gargantuan roll up that
boasts a twenty six inch tortilla that's been filled with rice, beans, tacoma,

(01:47:49):
nacho cheese, picico de gayo, lettuce, and sour cream.

Speaker 2 (01:47:53):
The boomstick breedom. Now here's my thing. I don't know
how easily, how easily shareable a burrito is to.

Speaker 4 (01:48:06):
Eat it, Like do you cut it in half?

Speaker 3 (01:48:08):
You almost have to cut it in like three slices,
right right? What's the normal size of a burrito?

Speaker 6 (01:48:15):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:48:15):
God, hold on? What would you like? Nine inches?

Speaker 15 (01:48:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:48:18):
Maybe?

Speaker 3 (01:48:19):
Gosh, this is a really out of content. Normal size
for a burrito, let's see, would be ten inches because
the case it is are on ten inche towrdtillas a
standard burrito, so that would be basically, you know, you
could cut into thirds or into two.

Speaker 2 (01:48:37):
It just sounds like a disaster. Like when I go
to a ball game.

Speaker 3 (01:48:40):
I love I love that they're trying to do unique
things right, and I love that everyone's always trying to
be creative.

Speaker 2 (01:48:47):
It's great, but it's also in't that messy?

Speaker 3 (01:48:51):
I mean, don't don't you not want to be walking
around with crap all over either whatever shirt you're wearing,
the pants are wearing to.

Speaker 4 (01:48:57):
A game, and I think it just takes away from
the game.

Speaker 6 (01:49:00):
Like I don't.

Speaker 4 (01:49:01):
I don't really, I don't.

Speaker 6 (01:49:01):
I don't think like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna go
to Dodger Stadium and I'm like dying to try their
chicken katsu club Like, I'm not gonna spend like the.

Speaker 3 (01:49:09):
Martins intended right now, because all he wants is a
turkey sandwich or a club sandwich.

Speaker 7 (01:49:13):
I don't want to be messy. I just want my
food to be nice. I don't need it to be
all over me where I have to wear a blanket.

Speaker 2 (01:49:21):
Or some Okay, are you going to eat it?

Speaker 15 (01:49:23):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:49:23):
Like we're eat it.

Speaker 7 (01:49:24):
I don't want to wear it.

Speaker 4 (01:49:25):
Yeah, you'd be wearing it.

Speaker 3 (01:49:27):
And so here's a couple of others that I found
for you. According to This is SI dot com, the
San Francisco Giants this year have me so ramen and
show you romen that you can get at the park.
I thought ramen was supposed to be something that's inexpensive
and you eat whenever you cannot afford anything else, But
apparently now you can eat these noodle bowles at Giants games.

(01:49:50):
The Mariners have introduced the what Up Corn Dog? It's
it's crusted in Mariner blue.

Speaker 6 (01:50:02):
Looks disgusting. It looks like a corn on the cob
that was like as like pest aside all.

Speaker 3 (01:50:07):
Over it, spicy crunch and served with a nacho with
nacho cheese? Who eats a corn dog with nacho cheese?
And by the way, the cotton candy fries listen, Toronto.
I you can't call something cotton candy fries when it's
an order of fries that you put cotton candy on
top of. I mean, that's not cotton candy fries. That's

(01:50:30):
an order of fries. They put a little bit of
I don't know what sugar on it and then you
threw a little glop of cotton candy on the top
of it.

Speaker 2 (01:50:38):
Like that's not created, that's just Hey, what's gott candy
on it?

Speaker 23 (01:50:42):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:50:43):
I don't know if there's Southern accents whenever. They're working
on that at Toronto. But here we go. Was there
chipped hold on, chipped ham no.

Speaker 1 (01:50:55):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:50:55):
And banadas no? Who wants that? Pirates also have polish cannon,
like the.

Speaker 4 (01:51:01):
White Sox have a milkshake like that's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:51:04):
I'm there for that. I'm there for that.

Speaker 4 (01:51:06):
The Astros have this like mac dog, which has like.

Speaker 2 (01:51:09):
I see that not just a mac dog. They come on.

Speaker 6 (01:51:15):
I'm sorry, it's just like it has some brisket, Like fine,
if you want to cut that in half. Like I mean,
I'll have a like I don't have a bite of that,
that's fine, but yeah, there's just like and like ramen,
going back to that, I have to eat ramen, like
sitting down, I'm not going to go carry that to
my seat and still hot liquid over myself and like
get burned.

Speaker 2 (01:51:33):
I don't know, do you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
Do you guys have like state fairs that you go
to or yeah, okay, so that's where you do things
like the turkey leg? Right right, Why doesn't that ever
become a thing in a baseball game. I don't mind
a good turkey leg every now and then, but it's
never really been a thing in a baseball game.

Speaker 4 (01:51:53):
Right, I've never seen it. But but like can like
for turkey legs, like they're so dry.

Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
Oh there's so they're so so messy. Alright.

Speaker 3 (01:52:03):
I think what we've learned a couple of things. Number One,
Bri and I are very very basic. Mark's a little
bit more extravagant. And Major League Baseball teams are trying
to make it seem like they're the most extravagant thing
on the planet whenever it comes to.

Speaker 2 (01:52:17):
What they're doing this year. All Right, we got your
best tweets of the night.

Speaker 3 (01:52:21):
Coming up to wrap things up, I got the Plank Parlay,
and then let's see what's on tap for today, what
you can't miss on a Saturday. Before we grab a break,
I want to remind you about the great partnership that

(01:53:25):
the Plank Show heading down the home stretch. On Fox
Sports Radio. I got my parlay. I'm still a little bit.
I'm still kind of trying to get my footing. Maybe
bre being in Vegas this week will help bring some
good luck to it's That's what I'm hoping for. Hit
a lot of topics tonight, so you guys have had
a lot to react to on Twitter, at Plank Show

(01:53:46):
at Fox Sports Radio. I breed in these twenty six
So let's hit a couple of these.

Speaker 2 (01:53:52):
Craig Rights.

Speaker 3 (01:53:54):
The Saint Paul Saints Minor League team has a six foot,
one thousand, sorry ten thousand calorie hot dog. It feeds
ten to twelve people. Y'all could eat that, by golly,
I don't I know this sounds burritos and hot dogs.
They're not shareables in my mind, Like I don't maybe

(01:54:17):
a casadia because it's sliced into pieces. Maybe if you,
I guess, if you wanted to cut a hot dog
in half?

Speaker 2 (01:54:22):
It who does that? Just ten thousand galleries?

Speaker 3 (01:54:28):
Gunny has been very active on social media tonight, Gunny Rights,
I'd love to see Kelvin Sampson get his natty guys.
Kelvin's career arc is pretty wild man. This was probably
a guy that could have coached at Oklahoma. His whole
career had some NCAA issues because he had texted recruits

(01:54:48):
too much, which is fun. Some of the things that
these coaches got in trouble for in Lego six O,
seven oh eight, even like up to twenty fifteen, pretty ridiculous.
Now when you look back, the bottom fell out at
Indiana again, I think they had some of the same issues.
They never liked him at Indiana. Kelvin can have a
little bit of a prickly personality, but I love him,
and he had to go to the NBA. There are

(01:55:12):
rumors that he's going to be the Rockets head coach.
I think the Bucks he was there for a little
bit and when he went to Houston. When Kelvin Sampson
took the Houston job, he realized they hadn't won an
NCAA tournament game since FI Slam a jama And that's
when some dude named a Keem Abdul Elijahuan was still
in college.

Speaker 2 (01:55:30):
And now look what they've become. It's pretty awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:55:33):
I'm rooting for him. Spock's Weed. What a name do
you think? Spock smoked weed? Because if there's a strain
of it. I'm intrigued. He writes a ten minute soliloquy. Dude,
don't make your target demo look upwards. That hurts the brain.
Of course, I'm much older than your target demo, so

(01:55:56):
my brain is okay. Well, I mean sometimes I even
impress myself. So with a word that comes out of
my mouth, I want to say, ramble, filibuster. Soliloquy came out,
and I don't know where how Chuck or Joe. I
think the Steelers quarterback room is the worst. They only

(01:56:17):
have Mason Rudolph. Would you rather have the Browns with picking?
Are the Steelers with the Rudolph? Which is, of course
if the Browns don't get cousins and Rogers won't go
to the Steelers. You and I have a similar theory
about something with Aaron Well, I have a theory on
something about Aaron Rodgers. And I don't know if I'm
I've got you in on yet, Brie. I know Mark's

(01:56:37):
not with me, but I am. I'm workshopping this. Now
I'm gonna sound like that Cleveland guy go so, I mean,
I take it for what it's worth. But if it happens,
remember where you heard from. I don't think the Niners
are out of anything right now. I think they're I
think they're a potential landing spot for both Cousins and Roger. Still,

(01:57:03):
I mean, explain to me why you don't have a
deal done yet with your quarterback. Explain to me why
there hasn't seemed to be too much momentum now. Mark
Willard lives, eats, and breathes all things San Francisco. He's
on Sunday night before Arnie and I, so I'll be
curious to see if there's been any buzz. But it's
just it's there's been too much that has happened going

(01:57:27):
out the door not to lead me to believe that
something else could be coming for San France.

Speaker 2 (01:57:32):
Uh, nature boy.

Speaker 3 (01:57:34):
I think Josh Gitty's but buzzer beater was way better
than Lebron's tipping. In fact, I watched it three times over. Yeah,
that's a lot. I thought Giddy's buzzer beater was awesome, awesome,
and it's kind of wild to think how he's started a.

Speaker 2 (01:57:50):
Blossom for the Chicago Bulls.

Speaker 3 (01:57:51):
Might have yourself, might have yourself a franchise piece there,
Chicago fans. So good stuff. On the Twitter machine tonight.
Remember always stay vigilant at Fox Sports Radio on Twitter.
All right, did you tell me that we have a
little imaging for the Plank parlay. Yes, Oh, I'm very excited.
Let's say it's time for the Plank parlay to wrapping up.
A lot of people look at parlay's as what profitability.

Speaker 2 (01:58:14):
I like the amount of money I could win.

Speaker 10 (01:58:16):
Probability based on what it shows me I could possibly
want plan.

Speaker 2 (01:58:20):
You decide if you want.

Speaker 5 (01:58:21):
To buy yourself, it's the Plank parlay.

Speaker 27 (01:58:25):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (01:58:25):
That's good because that's what you look at parlay. And
let's say you use whatever app you use, and it's like, WHOA,
I could win this much money if I bet. This confusing,
but I think it makes sense. Okay, I am not
going money line. I had my man, Matt Joseph's admin
Major Mat on Twitter say, bro, if you're gonna pick
these games in parlay, it's just pick money lines. No,

(01:58:50):
give me Florida first piece of it minus six and
a half. I think they've been the best team in
college basketball in the latter part of the season. I
think Texas Tech is holding on for Deer Live. I
will take Alabama plus the six and a half. Now, listen,
they're not going to make as many threes as they

(01:59:10):
did before. It's just not gonna happen. But I think
they're gonna keep it with it six and a half.
And because I'm weird and I like my parlays to
be all the same, sport a wildly large over under
at one seventy four and a half. It opened one
sixty five and a half. It's up to one seventy

(01:59:30):
four and a half in the Alabama Duke game. Give
me the under one seventy four and a half for
the third leg of the plank parlay in the Bama
Duke game. So I'm going I'm going with one dog,
give me Alabama plus six and a half. I still
think Duke Quins. Give me Florida minus six and a
half and give me the under in the Florida are

(01:59:51):
in the Duke Alabama game, so they have it. Y'all
have a great Saturday for Bree. For Mark, I'm playing
the Fellas with a two. Jason's coming up next. I'm
back Sunday Night with Arnie Spaniel at eleven Eastern Fox
