Speaker 3 (01:35):
So.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
One of the.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Things that I have noticed about the coverage of Dion
Sanders and Colorado over the past couple of years is
that you got a bunch of people waiting around hoping
for failure. Now there's a lot of people who celebrate it.
They get a lot of notoriety, a lot of attention.
(02:00):
They've got concerts there, big Neon kickoffs there. ESPN goes
there like Boulder Colorado, and what Deon Sanders has done
for the program and what those players have created there
is incredible because that was if you grew up watching
college football back in the nineties, man Colorado was legit,
(02:21):
like that was a real powerhouse. And then things sort
of went sideways. You had some controversies whatnot. They were
an awful football program and were so irrelevant nobody cared.
Dion gets there all of a sudden, They've got sponsorships,
they've got concerts, they've got coverage. Oh and by the way,
(02:43):
they may actually have the two best players in college football.
And everyone said, nah, nah, no, listen, I mean that
stuff works on the lower levels of it's not going
to work here, okay, but to what extent and to
what degree? They didn't like the way that he came
in and told all the people that were currently at Colorado,
I'm bringing Louis, Like, if you're not up to snuff,
(03:05):
you're out of here. Like people just didn't like it.
And so because of that, the coverage was different, like
you either are on one side or the other, and
you weren't going to adjust. And so yesterday they've got
their pro day and Boulder he's got Shador, he's got
Travis Hunter. They're working out a little bit for teams,
(03:28):
and Dion Sanders is promoting and hyping up and trying
to generate real conversation about two really good players at
the college level, both of which are his one of
is his son, and trying to let everybody know, hey,
these are the guys. Let's take a listen.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Like I said, probably a year ago, they should be
going one two. That's the way I feel, and I'm
gonna stand by that. I think they're the two best
players in this draft. They're not a risk like Shador
has been doing it year at the year at the
year at the year at Chaoi's Land College football and
this this this Travis ain't nobody like Travis. So the
Sure's bets in this draft. I'm not a beat man,
(04:10):
I'm a godly man. But the Sure bets in this
draft of those two young men. And I instead of
stabbing when I said, Dan did I all right?
Speaker 2 (04:18):
And here's the problem. Both of those guys are going
to get drafted more than likely to an awful franchise.
And guess what's gonna happen. People are going to pull
up those quotes and other quotes in the past and
air out both players and Dion Sanders see told you
(04:40):
see when the reality is, if Travis Hunter goes too
to the Browns, let's just say he goes two to
the Browns and he's a receiver and or defensive back,
there's some speculation that they view him as more of
a receiver. Is Travis Hunter as a receiver really going
(05:01):
to fix the issue with the Browns? Like if all
of a sudden Travis Hunter shows up in Cleveland, is
Deshaun Watson all of a sudden gonna not be a weirdo?
You know what I mean? It's not his problem but
because of the coverage and because of the way that
these players and that program has been looked at, they're
(05:24):
going to catch the run a bit Scharoor Sanders. Let's
say he ends up in Cleveland, same thing. Let's say
he ends up in New York. But with that, it's
built in, the perceptions of these players are built in.
(05:47):
Like never mind the fact that what Dion Sanders alluded to,
he said a year ago, he was right. They are
two of the best players in college football. That's a fact.
Travis Hunter won the Heisman. Like he hasn't lied. There
(06:07):
have been no lies. Like you can't say man should
or came with all this hype and he didn't deliver
no like heep like the most accurate quarterback I think
in college football history. Like like, he hasn't told any lies.
But the problem is when you get to the NFL,
all of a sudden, you're dependent on an organization who,
(06:30):
if you're good enough, is picking high enough. And if
they're picking high enough, it's because they're bad enough. Good
players end up with bad teams, and no matter where
those guys go, they can't fix the issues of those teams.
So even if Travis Hunter is a great player. Man,
(06:52):
he can't fix the issues of those teams. Man, look
at Miles Garrett, potentially his teammate. Miles Garrett's going to
be a Hall of Fame, Like he's one of the
great Cleveland Browns of all time. And they're awful, Like
they're terrible. Should or Sanders could end up wherever he wants, Like, hey,
he might end up with the Jets at seven. Dion Sanders'
(07:16):
son is going to be a top ten pick in
the draft. That is a success. He told no lies.
He forecasted it, he predicted it. He could end up
with the New York Jets, a top seven pick in
the NFL draft. And guess what that franchise is a
diaper fire, Like, who's fixing that? Aaron Rodgers one of
(07:40):
the all time great quarterbacks in the history of the league.
He got there. He couldn't fix it. They can't get
out of their own way. So the point is, whatever
opinions people have of these guys or that program or
Dion Sanders, they're just going to roll it over. There
will be no nuance added to the conversation or a
(08:01):
new nuance added to the coverage. They're just gonna roll
it over like should or could be a fine quarterback
in the NFL. Yeah, didn't live up to the hype. Okay,
Travis Hunter could be a really, really really good player
in the NFL. Yeah, didn't live up to that. Okay,
(08:21):
But this is what happens.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
I even saw people questioning the fact that Shador was
patting the ball at his pro day yesterday when he
was throwing it right. So we've gone from man who
cares about pro days? It's just a workout. It's just
like a highlight film. It's a hype video. Blah blah
blah too ooh, look at that. There's a tell, Well
(08:43):
which is it? Like, like, which one is it? Johnny
Manzel had a rap concert and shoulder pads on it
his pro day. Teddy Bridgewater reportedly had a bad pro
day because he was wearing like like what are we
doing here? The point is, whatever perception or opinions you
(09:04):
have of Shador and Travil, you're just going to carry
that over. It's just going to be a rollover effect.
So he may be telling the truth. They may be
the best two players in college football, and maybe they
do deserve to go one and two. Who knows, but
just because he's saying it, their situation is going to
(09:25):
dictate their success, and people's coverage of this team in
the past couple of years is just going to roll
over and dictate how they feel about those players moving forward,
is what it is. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio.
By the way, I would like to say this, We
have got ourselves a chocky Final Four and I love
(09:45):
every second of it. Now you could sit here and
you could complain, like I was telling everybody last week,
like all the crying, the bitching and moaning because West
Virginia didn't get in and North Carolina did and then
now we're here and it's like, oh, okay, they got
it right. Like we could sit here and we could
bitch and moan about Well, there wasn't that many upsets.
(10:06):
It wasn't as exciting as it was. Maybe it's because
players are getting poached from the transfer port, Like whatever
you want. When do you get in one game playoff scenarios,
best against best, like you usually end up getting it
in the NBA or the NHL best team from the West,
best team from these you usually do because you got
(10:29):
to eat a team four times out of seven. And
then you know, like you know, it's rare you would
get upsets in the NFL. You'll get an upset all
the time. You'll get an underdog, or you'll get a
road team that wins, like it happens all the time.
So this is a one game at a time playoff
(10:52):
format and we ended up with the best four teams
in the tournament. When does that happen? Like, trust me,
I can tell you from personal experience, like I didn't
think we were gonna get shocked because we usually it
feels like we never do. It's like the second time
ever we've gotten it. So that's why I had a
couple of I had a two seed in the final four.
(11:13):
I had a four seed in the final four. It's like, hey,
i'll mix it up here. There's no way it's going
to be all four ones. But here we are. And
so for all the crying and the complaining and the
pitching and the moaning about what the tournament was and
what it didn't deliver and who didn't get in and who,
we ended up with a rarity in a one game
(11:37):
playoff format. We've got the four best teams in the sport,
and we've got them on the biggest stage in the sport,
and we're getting it later on tonight, and then we
get the championship on Monday. That should be celebrated. Unfortunately
it won't be because people are too busy crying about
everything else that happened beforehand. At the Jonas Knocks on X.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Live Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming up a little
over ten minutes from now here from the tire Raq
dot com studios. There's a team in the NFL that
might be rushing it a little too soon. You know,
maybe just relax a little bit, you know, let this
one settle in, Just let this one kind of a
(13:49):
cool down a bit before you jump in and cost
yourself hundreds of millions of dollars. We'll get into that
for you again a little over ten minutes from now
here on FSR. So, I've always admired people, and I
think people should be commended those that are willing to
sacrifice for the greater good. Like there's certain things in
(14:14):
your life that are worth the risk. Like you may
not walk across traffic for one hundred dollars bill, but
you'd walk across traffic for your dog, you know, Like
you'd walk across traffic for your child, Like you're willing,
(14:37):
Like that's worth the risk. Like there's certain things in
your life that you are willing to sacrifice to get
to where you need to go, Like all the great athletes,
anybody successful has had to risk certain things in order
to get to where they are, if they've had any
measure of success. Like, there's just certain things in your
life that are worth that risk. And I got a
(15:00):
be honest with you. Putting it like that makes me
respect John Morant even more because that guy is risking
his career for finger guns. And he could sit here
(15:22):
and we could judge that guy, and we could say, well,
what are you doing this is like a two hundred
three hundred million dollar contracts. I mean, he could be
worth half a billion by the time his careers. Like,
we could sit here and play that game, and we
could sit here in judgment because we don't get it,
or you can just respect the fact that he is
(15:44):
willing to risk it all. You know, maybe that is
his version of the dog on the other side of traffic,
and instead people are sitting there on their high horse
talking about how this is a bad look. It's a
and sure, I get it, he's got a past. I
(16:07):
understand that. I know he's had issues with this stuff before.
Guy flashed a handcannon while hammered inside a strip club.
Apparently there was another video of a gun on video
or a gun that he had. I think one of
them might have been like a gun lighter. Guy likes guns,
(16:31):
all right. I don't know a lot of people who
were willing to risk hundreds of million dollars to pull
out a make believe rifle after hitting a shot in
a game. And his approach to this whole thing is like, hey, man,
(16:52):
I'm tired of it. I don't care anymore. NBA says, hey,
listen to jaw. This is a little bit of an issue.
You and buddy healed, you know, pointing guns at each other.
Not a great look, you know, not a great look
for a league who needs some good looks. So here's
what we're gonna do. We're gonna give you a warning.
He says, Okay, next game, pulls out another one. Guys,
(17:13):
I've never seen anybody that much amo my life. Guy's
got sawed offs, elephant guns, oozzies, all make believe, all invisible,
like he's probably the greatest air guitar player of all time.
Guy pulled out a musket in the middle of a
(17:34):
game right after the NBA warned him and then gets
fined seventy five thousand dollars. Doesn't care. Like we've seen
a lot of players like ruin their careers. Like you've
seen it, Like you hear this all the time. There
might be somebody in your personal life. Man, he could
have had it all, but he couldn't put down the
bottle like that one. We can, we can like wrap
(17:56):
our heads around because we've seen it before, We've got
examples of it. Hey man could have been one of
the all time greats. But man, the drugs, the women,
the nightlife, it just got to him. God could have
been one of the all timers, but man couldn't stay
(18:16):
away from the bad stuff, and by the time they
realized it was too late. Like we've seen stuff like that,
we've seen examples of that. We've never seen somebody risk
their entire career so that they could pull out a
make believe shotgun. And it doesn't even look like a
(18:39):
legitimate shotgun. It looks like one of those ones that
you shoot into a clown at a carnival and a
balloon pops over his head, looks like a water pistol.
This guy's pulling out everything he can think of for
the right to bear arms, and we're gonna sit here
in judgment and criticize the guy. I'll be honest with you.
(19:03):
I think it's hilarious because I think there's gonna be
a point in time where later in his life he's
gonna go, Man, what happened to that extra three hundred
million dollars I had lying around, you know, in sponsorships
and all the Oh, that's right, that's right. I Uh.
For some reason, I thought it was more important to
(19:24):
whip out a gatling gun after hitting a twenty footer
against the Hornets on a weeknight game in February. You
know what I mean, Like it is wild and he
doesn't care, clearly doesn't care. You think this is the
last time he's gonna do it like his teammates are
(19:44):
doing it. You think this is the last time he's
gonna like brandish a make believe weapon in a game. No,
absolutely not. They were warned. I mean, it's not as
ridiculous as like the NFL, you know, punishing guys for
smelling their finger. Like listen, I under like if you're
(20:07):
the NFL, Like, okay, if you're like that guy who
I think he was like a college but I think
he played for Michigan. There was some guy who slid
into third, he hit a triple, slides into third and
then looks at his dugout and pretends to snort the
third base line. Now he apologized, he accepted responsibility for it.
(20:33):
From a creativity standpoint, you got to commend him. Never
seen it before. We've seen a Dolphins oh line coach,
you know, hit the booger sugar on video, like we've
seen that before. We've never seen a player pretend to
do it. And and the item that was being used
was the third base line after a triple. I mean,
(20:55):
the guy hit a trip. What do you want to do?
Speaker 6 (20:58):
Bow?
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Put at a little flash on it. Hey, some people
do batflips. I pretend that that third baseline some snotsand
and I get after it. It's fine. But he apologized,
So the NFL saying, all right, listen with you can't
smell your finger anymore. It's like, okay, dude, Like what's
on the finger? Like did they grow out a pinky nail?
(21:22):
And there's something underneath it? Like what are we talking
about here? But now the NBA's popped Ja Moran seventy
five thousand dollars. If I was Adam Silver, since he's
you know, swung and missed at trying to fix the
All Star Game and some of the other lower numbers
in the NBA, he should come out with different degrees
of fines depending on the weapon that is used by
(21:46):
Ja Morant, Like if he goes ak forty seven, one
hundred thousand dollars, sawed off seventy five, musket fifty oozy
five all the way down until you hit a sling
shot and that's like one hundred and fifty bucks, Like
(22:08):
if he brings out a blow dart gun. You're probably
gonna have to have a conversation or two about it,
but we'll let that one slide. The point is you
are witnessing one of the great talents in sports that
has figured out what he's willing to sacrifice and what
it's all for. Some people are willing to risk it
(22:31):
all for a family member, a pet, something like that
near and dear, a friend something near and dear to
their heart. Apparently Jahn Morant has decided, I'm willing to
risk my entire career potentially with make believe handguns after
hitting shots in an NBA game. And I gotta be
(22:53):
honest with you. If he's all about it, you gotta
let him run with it. Jonas Noxi or Fox Sports

We're going to try and figure out why a team's
(23:35):
rushing it so much. They're like, you gotta like sit
back and just relax a little bit. All right, let
it cool off. We'll explain why that's yours next here
on FSR. But for all the ladies from around the
world of sports, ladies and gentlemen, roll out the red
carpet in your ears and welcome in the magnificent Sir
Isaac will coo.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
That's it, just one adjective.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Are you not going to commend me for my support
of Ja Morant and is right to bear invisible arms?
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Actually am going to commend you for it and more.
Big curiosity makes me want to ask what would the
commensurate sacrifice be for you and your career? I mean,
if if you took the same tack and took the
same sort of stand that all.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
That's you mean? Like, what was what did I sacrifice
for my career?
Speaker 1 (24:31):
What would you sacrifice in a in an equivalent fashion,
I've already done it. Oh all right, you came out
all right?
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Yeah, sleep in a social life. Yeah that was my
invisible loosy.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
But you sleep on a social But at least you've
made up for the social life aspect of it. The sleep,
the sleep thing, you're still sacrificing.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Yeah, no, yeah, the social life. No, definitely, not definitely.
Now listen, I would love to sit here. My day
consists of this, especially during the week. I wake up
at one o'clock, I work out, Hey do the show?
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Well wait a minute, I didn't know that you woke
up and worked out at one am. Yeah, I mean
there's no line for the lad pulldown machine at the
twenty four our Fitness across the street at the morning.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
But like I learned from doing that time slot as
many years as I have in other capacities, whether it
was producing or updates or anything. Fair Like, I learned
that if I just go if I just wake up,
get dressed and go in, I'm like dragging ass. But
if I get up and I get my body moving
a little bit, and I get a good sweat in
and a good cardio. Then then I'm much better off.
(25:40):
And then I come back, I take a nap, I
wake up, and then you know, I'm assaulted by my son.
He's usually you know, launching monster trucks over my head.
Then we go out, we play baseball. He had a
line drive off my wrist. I'm gonna need to get
get that looked at. Eventually.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Do you charge the mound or did did did you retaliate?
Speaker 2 (25:59):
As No? No, no, no, but I will now I
didn't even think of that. Now I will. Okay, maybe
the next off speed pitch will be a little bit
more inside than usual. I mean there, think about that.
There is a code in baseball.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
See that's I'm still trying to help you onto these
milestones in life. If this would have Steve Hartman has
told me stories that if something like that happened with
one of his kids growing up, the next one would
be in the kid's ear.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Is all I'm saying. Well, I mean, listen, some people
like to handle things in a violent manner. I'm not.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
I'm more of your lover, not a fighter.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
Yeah, that's how I offer.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Well along those lines and along the lines of having
a lack of a social life. Check out your latest
mentions and I'm sure it'll make you feel a lot better.
Also feeling better today the group known as the Basketball
Hall Theme Class of twenty twenty five. They were officially
announced today Carmelo, Anthony, Dwight Howard, Billy Donovan, Sue Byrd,
Maya Moore, Sylvia Foles, referee Danny Crawford, Miami Heat owner
(26:57):
Mickey Arrison, as well as the two thousand an eight
US Olympic Men's basketball team, The Final Four. It tips
off this evening from San Antonio, San Antonio. Indeed, Charles,
thank you for contribution. Tips off. The tips off at
six oh nine Eastern as Florida takes on Auburn. Then
at eight forty nine Eastern, it'll be Houston against Duke.
(27:21):
As we speak, a big Final Four rally taking place
on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
It's like remember when the Buccaneers, I think the Lightning
did this too, when they had their quote unquote parade.
They did it in the water in Tampa. Absolutely, yes,
that count I don't know if that counts well, there's
they were. Have you ever been to a Championship parade.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
By the way, we've I don't know if we've talked
about this before, but it was like the first time
I was ever recognized by a quote unquote fan. Oh yeah,
and I started to puff up with flattery, and then
the fan threw beer at me, and then like literally
hundreds of other people started throwing beer at me. It
was at the two thousand and two Lakers Championship parade.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Oh wait a second, Wait a second.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
I haven't told you the story before. What do you
I got to get to the Major League based all scoreboards,
finish your update. Let's have this discussion. What's wrong with you? Anyway?
Well more than one thing. I'll tell you that baseball.
The Arizona Diamondbacks today placed All Star second baseman can
Tell Marte on the ten day injuredless with a strained
left hamstring. Right now, the Tigers lead the White Sox
seven to two. Top of the sixth inning. Kerry Carpenter
(28:27):
of the White Sox or excuse me, of the Tigers,
a two run home run, his third home run in
two games. Hose Al Tuove a home run for the Astros,
who lead in Minnesota one nothing, on the top of
the second Padres and Cubs scoreless in the bottom of
the first inning at Wrigley. Back to you, all right,
you know.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Back to you. You got to tell me about this
championship rates assault you suffered.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
I was covering the two thousand and two Lakers Championship parade,
the three Peat parade, which was held in the Staples
Center parking lot which is now LA Live, and I
was meandering.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
All right.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
So now, because I like to ask a lot of questions,
you were you the one thing?
Speaker 6 (29:04):
Beer?
Speaker 3 (29:04):
No?
Speaker 2 (29:04):
No, no, because first of all, I'm not throwing any beer,
I'm drinking it. Secondly, I want to I want to
make people feel like they were there. So who were you?
Were you covering it for KLAC? Yes, okay, so you
were covering it for the Blowtorch A M five seventy KLAC.
Now that being said, you were there, I'm assuming you
(29:24):
had a decent reputation with the players, with the team
that they would allow you as close to the event
as you were.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
So what went wrong, It's not so much what went wrong.
It was miscalculating my market value and my Q rating
at the time because I was walking by, you know,
this punk on the radio which I really still am.
And someone called as and I once again miss misread
(29:56):
my Q rating at the time, which apparently was a
negative number, and so I turned, I began, I prepared
myself to sign an autograph, and suddenly, you know, here
comes some beer flying at me. Fortunately it wasn't used beer,
but then you know, the mob mentality kicked in and
the beers started being thrown, and you know, to their credit,
(30:19):
you know, when you throw a beer from fifty feet
away as opposed to fifteen feet away, it doesn't hit
your target. It hits the people in front of you.
There was also some unusual smoke odors coming out of
that particular area of the parade. I'm just saying, unbelievable.
You sure it wasn't you?
Speaker 2 (30:37):
No, definitely not. I'm not hanging out at a parade.
I was at the randomly I went to. I don't
know why. So we were at the twenty sixteen US Open,
the golf tournament. Fox was covering it. That wasn't the
one in Long Island, was it? No? Oakmont, Pa? Okay,
So it was at a Oakmont contract a beautiful place,
(30:58):
beautiful and so it's like twenty minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Well,
it just so happened that the Penguins championship parade was
that day, that one of the days we were there,
and you know, I grew up a Penguins fan. I
was like, oh man, I like, let me go check that.
I've never been to a parade before. Let me go
check this champion. By the way, I want to say
it correctly, I've never been to a championship parade before.
(31:20):
I know how those hooligans work on social media, so
we'll leave that there. But the point is, I've never
been to a championship parade before. Something like, let me
go check it out. It was awful. I don't get it,
you're just kind of standing around. It was towards the
end of the parade. First of all, the body odor
in the crowd was I mean wretched. Yeah, because it
(31:42):
was really hot and really humid out in Pittsburgh. It's
not because Pittsburgh's a beautiful place. I love Pittsburgh. Underrated
city fans people are awesome, But there was just you
could tell people been partying for about three days straight
celebrating the win, and the booze was pouring out of
their pores and so like once the players got off
whatever cars that they were riding on at the end
(32:03):
of the parade, it was just kind of like all right,
and that's it. It was so anti climactic. And then
by the time people you know, sort of found their
way out of there, the traffic was a mess. So
I just I don't really get it. It's not my thing.
But I also wasn't assaulted by adult beverages like you were.
Maybe that's a different experience.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
It's like a sunburn and dehydration minimum. The however, the
one that tops all of those, I think you'll remember
Argentina won the last World Cup and their championship parade
was so insane that the players had to be evacuated
out of the double decker buses they were in by
helicopter for their own safety.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, that's right. Well, you know, I'm sure some of them,
you know, probably needed to get out of there for
other reasons because you know, well, I'm just saying, like,
you know, if you look and research any of that stuff,
you know there's certain people you bring to the event
as family, and that there's certain people that you tell
everybody are just friends. Oh so yeah, yeah, sometimes you
(33:04):
get to, you know, pull the ripcord and bail on
certain things.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
You have to have. You have to have a backup plan, Yes,
you have to.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
You definitely have to. All right, good stuff, I didn't
know you were assaulted by beer at a parade. All right,
there it is. It is Jonas Knox here on Fox

to push the topic the NFL discussion coming up top
of next hour about a team who apparently is just
rushing the whole thing like it could cost them hundreds
of millions of dollars. But they're rushing it. They're acting
a little bit too quick on this whole thing. We'll
get into that for you up next here, though, we
are going to have another edition of Do U Care
(33:55):
right here on FSR Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming
ups now are a little over ten minutes from now
here from the tire rack dot Com studios. We are

Football League that might be making a decision a little
bit too soon. A little bit too soon, we will
explain here again a little over ten minutes from now

Speaker 3 (34:41):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
DMS your reports. Now let's get kinky.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?
Speaker 2 (34:57):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Bo Benz to find out what the hell has
been going on all week long. Bo.
Speaker 7 (35:03):
The Basketball Hall of Fame class was announced in full
this morning, headlined by Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Dwight Howard,
Carmelo Anthony, and a few more jonas, do you care?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Not really?
Speaker 3 (35:16):
Give hill?
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Next?
Speaker 7 (35:19):
Alex Slovechkin of the Washington Capitals scored his eight hundred
and ninety fourth goal, drawing even with Wayne Gretzky jonas
do you care?
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Yeah, but you have to care about this, I mean
unless you're Steve Disager, who apparently doesn't get to send it,
because yeah, Steve will be sure to point out all
you know, the first season didn't cout He's actually like
thirty eight goals, shy whatever. Listen, Steve Disager's got to
stop being a hater. I hope somebody plays this form
as well too. I miss Steve all right. So that
being said, I do like the fact that Ovechkin, who
(35:50):
had an opportunity to break the record because they had
pulled the goalie, said no, no, no, I don't want
to break it like that. I don't want to break
Wayne Gretzky's record on an empty net goal. I like
the fact that he said, even though everything was set
up for me, he was there or all that, he said,
(36:10):
screw it. I'll take my chances. The next time I'm
going against an actual goalieho's sitting in the crease. I
respect that move by Alexovitchkin, and this is going to
be an awesome accomplishment. Accomplishment which by the way, I
think he's doing it in almost exactly the same number
of games as Wayne Gretzky, which is crazy. But one
of the all time great records of sports is about
to go down.
Speaker 7 (36:29):
Next, the Los Angeles Chargers signed quarterback Trey Lance to
a one year deal.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Do you care?
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Yeah, good for him, And I think he got like
a six and a half million dollars Like that's great.
Like Trey Lance, who, by the way, if we're being fair,
if we're being totally fair about it, he was judged
and the book was written on Trey Lance in San
Francisco in practice, because it's not like he really got
(37:01):
a legitimate shot to be the starter. I mean's like
he got he got a couple of games as a rookie,
then he was anointed the starter. He had one game
in a monsoon to open up the year, and then
he got hurt in game two and after that it
was over. So any analysis or judgment they had on
him was all based on practice. Hopefully he gets a
(37:22):
real opportunity to actually get in some games and show
he can play. I know things didn't go well with Dallas,
but things didn't go well for a lot of people
in Dallas last year. But good for Trey Lanton. He's
getting six and a half million bucks.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Next.
Speaker 7 (37:34):
Lamar Jackson won his trademark dispute with Dylor Hard Junior
over the use of a stylized eight on merchandise.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Jonas, do you care, No, it's so confusing. I don't like,
I don't get it's what's one eight to the next?
Like what are we talking about here? Like just I mean,
they're like arguing. Troy Aikman reportedly was in the mix,
like it's just all these like come on, man, it's
just it's a it's a number, but apparently it's worth
millions of dollars.
Speaker 7 (37:57):
Next, the Detroit Pistons have gone from having the worst
record in the league to the playoffs this year.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Yeah, if anybody's watched Detroit play fun, they are fun
and they are willing to fight, So you need them
to play as long as possible. They're not gonna come
close to winning a title, but it does add some interest.
And some more intrigue to one of the great basketball
cities in all of America, and let's go live to
(38:26):
our I have a thought on the city of Detroit
inside a Chris prophet for the latest.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Chris bad Boys Are Back, Baby. That's what I keep thinking.
Speaker 6 (38:32):
I do wonder if this is going to inspire more
teams just keep turning over coaches, because you got to
look at what JB. Bickerstaff's done, where he's just like
cast off from the Cavaliers and immediately turns Detroit around.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
It's kind of incredible.
Speaker 7 (38:46):
Next, the trailer for the new remake slash sequel of
The Naked Gun drop this week, starring Liam Neeson as
Frank Drevin jonas do you care?
Speaker 2 (38:56):
No, come on, man, there's only one Naked Gun. I
hate this and have you seen it?
Speaker 1 (39:00):
Have you seen the trailer?
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Though?
Speaker 7 (39:01):
No, they need to watch. Yeah, there's a joke at
the end of the trailer that is I'm very excited
for this movie.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
I was gonna say, didn't didn't that entire series die
when OJ did? I mean, like, wasn't he really the
star of that whole show? Like you know, it's just
like with him, I think Reggie Jackson was involved in
the first one. You know, some guy cut a fart
and he had his mic on, like listen, They're just
I feel like it's not going to be the same
presentation we got all those years ago. So maybe you
(39:29):
don't have to do it. I mean, I know the
feeling would be, well, you want to get it done early,
but maybe you don't have to. We'll explain why that
applies to one team in the NFL coming up here
in just a couple of moments from now, Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to this show as

(40:14):
the way tire buying should be. So I thought it
was interesting how Jed York, the forty nine ers owner,
basically came out and was, you know, talking about the
situation that they're in, and there's been a lot of
discussion about the forty nine ers and just you know,
(40:34):
where they're at with is it a rebuild?
Speaker 3 (40:37):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (40:37):
You know?
Speaker 4 (40:38):
Is it? You know?
Speaker 2 (40:39):
And him being the CEO of the franchise, is it?
You know? What do you make of the team? You're missing,
losing a bunch of starters, and it feels like the
window closed, And we've talked about it. It does feel
like there's a window an era of Niners football that
has closed a little bit. And John Lynch just said, look,
we have a plan. They got a bunch of draft
picks and they're, uh, you know, that's going to be
(41:03):
the way they do it. We're gonna build through the draft.
We're gonna replenish everything that happened. We were a veteran team,
got to a couple of Super Bowls. That's going to
be the plan moving forward. And so Jed York was
talking this week at the owners meetings and just said,
you basically alluded to the fact that the reason they
had to part with as many players as they did
and make as many difficult decisions as they did is
(41:23):
because they need to pay Rock Party. And every team
who has a franchise quarterback or believes they have a
franchise quarterback has to come to terms with that. I mean,
you can't pay everybody. There are going to be some
casualties when it comes to the contract, and so you know, like,
this is this is where we're at, and then you
start to think about it and you go, yeah, but
(41:45):
not really. I mean, if you wanted to, if you
were the Niners, you could theoretically wait to pay Rock Party,
like you could do that. He's set to make five
million in change this upcoming year, if there's still any
(42:07):
question in your mind, or if you look at it
and go, man, we'd rather not commit all that money now,
and maybe it'll cost us a little bit more next year,
but we'd rather like, if you wanted to, you could wait.
Teams have done it. You could also use the franchise tag.
(42:29):
Teams have done that too. If you wanted to wait
this thing out when it comes to brock Purty, you
could do that. And if there is worst case scenario
any sort of hesitation, because we're not really sure, you know,
we don't know for certain that he's the guy. Everything
(42:49):
tells you he is.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
They believe he is.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
But if you were to go back to last year
and say, well, with all the talent and all the injuries,
did he deliver with that his many pieces around him,
the answer would be, well, no, not that you thought,
not the way I think a lot of forty nine
ers fans were hoping for. So this idea that well, yeah,
we're doing all this and we're making all these sacrifices,
(43:13):
and we're moving, you know, things around and changing and
the windows closing, and it's all because we've got to
pay our court what you don't actually have to. You
could pay him five million dollars this upcoming year, and
if you wanted to, you could franchise him afterwards, and
you could tag him again if you need it to.
So like the idea that, well, look, we're just listen
(43:33):
all of this because of him. Like I don't know
that there's and this is not a knock on Brock
party because I like Brock Purty. I think it's a
great story. I love the fact that mister irrelevant is
in line for what he's in line for, But we're
talking like fifty million dollars. And one of the reports
that was out there is that the starting point of
the negotiations was forty five a year. Like this isn't
(43:58):
going to be a Genos Smith two years seventy five million. Oh,
I kind of get it. It's not going to be
a Sam Darnold type con Like we're talking like this
is monster cash, like he's a you know, they're calling
him a top ten quarterback in the NFL, Like like,
we're looking at fifty plus million dollars a year for
brock Purty or you could do it for five this
(44:20):
upcoming year and then see where we're at at the
end of next season with all these new pieces that
are there. It's just it's something to think about. But
the way they're talking, it feels like they're going to
get it done sooner rather than later at the Jonas
Knox on X. At the Jonas Knox on X and
you can hang out with us is always on the
iHeartRadio app. By the way, I did. I did find
this kind of funny And maybe there's, you know, nothing
(44:43):
to it. Maybe it's just total coincidence, but it was
kind of funny. So we mentioned Dion Sanders, who spoke
so highly about Shador and Travis Hunter at their pro days, said, hey, listen,
I've been I said it a year ago. They're the
two best players in the draft. They should go one
and two, et cetera, et cetera. My point on that was, well,
regardless of where they go, they're going to be judged
(45:06):
based on previous opinions and feelings about them. Like, however
you felt about Colorado and Dion Sanders and that program
when they came in, you carry that with you. Every
time they lost, people were piling on every time they won,
it was dismissed, like it just like that segment of
the population is going to be there, and it's going
to be there when it comes to the NFL. Because
(45:28):
Travis Hunter is a great player. He could go to
a bad franchise and be buried in a bad organization
and there's still going to be people that say, ah yeah.
And Dion was saying, well, no, like, if you end
up in a bad spot, you end up in a
bad spot. Same with Shador. So they may be, as
Dion pointed out, the two best players in the draft,
(45:48):
and maybe they do deserve to go one and two,
but they could still more than likely end up with
a bad organization and they've just got to deal with
that as opposed to maybe getting a fair shake at
the next level. And so you start thinking about, okay, well,
bad organizations, you know, like organizations with owners that are
(46:09):
a little bit too impulsive, a little bit to this
a little bit. And I started to notice something. And
I don't know if anybody else caught onto this, but
this past week at the owners meetings down in Florida,
there's a lot of discussion about rule changes and proposals
and all that, you know what. Else, there was a
lot of brutally honest discussions publicly from executives or owners
(46:35):
talking about situations and contracts on their own team. Like
multiple examples, Jimmy Haslam called Deshaun Watson's contract and decision
a mistake. Okay. Jerry Jones, when discussing Micah Parsons contract, said, yeah,
(46:59):
I don't even know who his agent is, Katie Blackburn,
who's a CEO or EVP of the Cincinnati Bengals. Basically,
just like, you know, something along the lines of, well,
you know, Trey Hendrickson's just got to be happy with
the number that he gets. Arthur Blank talking about Kirk Cousins, Well, listen,
(47:21):
I mean we're going to do we will try and
help Kirk out. He's a good guy, but we're going
to do what's best for us, and he should be.
You know, he was paid handsomely, so it's you know,
I think it worked out well for him too. It's
just kind of funny that all of a sudden on
that platform, multiple owners and executives having brutally honest conversations
(47:44):
and discussions and not complaining because it gives us an
honest look, a real look into the thought process there.
But even as we mentioned Jed Yorke talking about Brock Perdy, like, well, yeah,
like we had to make all those decisions because we're
going to pay our quarterback. So normally there's a way
(48:08):
that you handle this stuff publicly, like Jimmy has them
does realize that that guy he was talking about, Deshaun Watson,
he's still on his team, Like he's still on the
roster and he's just airing him out. Jerry Jones talking
(48:31):
about Micaeh Parson's agent. Hey, I don't know who that
guy is. I'm fairly certain he's represented other players that
have been with Dallas. Jerry Knows like, yeah, whatever, Sorry.
Katie Blackbird talking about Trey Henson, like you realize, like
you're in the middle of a negotiation to try and
get something done, and instead of taking the normal approach
(48:55):
of hey, let's you know, let's work on this behind
the scenes. We don't want to go public within any
of this stuff. It's like, no, listen, he's got to
be happy with the number. Arthur Blank talking about like
these are all decisions that franchises and organizations are working
through in real time, and instead of just being like, yeah,
let's keep those behind closed doors, Oh no, we're just
(49:17):
going to talk openly about it. And look, I don't
know if the booze were flowing down in Florida, and
maybe they were a little bit too honest. I don't know.
I don't know if they were worn out from all
the discussions over the Tush push and everything that went
along that. I have no idea why, but I did
find it kind of interesting that four or five owners
(49:38):
slash executives spoke openly and were critical and were honest
about major decisions that were being made involving either star
players who are currently under contract looking for a new
deal or star players who are currently under contract looking
(49:59):
to elsewhere. Kind of interesting. Could be nothing, or maybe
they had an open tab down there and people just decided,
do you know what, here's a little true serum. Let
me get two more shots of that. Oh look, there's
a microphone. I'm gonna go ahead and wear out some
of the players on my roster, but it may for
good content. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio at the
(50:23):
Jonas Knox on X at the Jonas Knox on X.
By the way, you can also follow along on Instagram
at Jonas Knox Show as well too. As we do
this show here live from the tire Raq dot Com studios.
Coming up next here, though, we are going to tell
you about how somebody in the world of sports who
you don't like. You don't like this guy, but he's
(50:44):
on your side. I'll explain next, all right.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
First off, Jonas Knox can suck it.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. So coming up here in
a couple of moments from now, we're going to tell
you about how somebody in sports a lot of you
don't like he's on your side. He's actually on your side.
We'll get into that for you again a little over
well two or three minutes from now, after we sort
(51:14):
of wind down from the high of some of these
great supportive tweets that we have received from people here
listening to the show, like Tony, who writes in board
Op Jonas is the DEI on air higher that needed
a quote filled for your pasty and flaming, bleep gobbling ass.
(51:42):
Peter writes in we would all want to see this
wannabe jaw Wick plant a couple in this beta bleep
and bleep Jonas Knox. Maddie writes in how is this
hot garbage from Jonahs still allowed on the radio? This
(52:04):
ass clown makes people nauseous and all he does is
kiss ass hey, dip ass. It's not an NFL show,
Now go change your makeup. The HATO five writes in
Chatsworth Joni, saying the Browns and Giants will continue to
(52:25):
suck his great draft analysiss you ass hat. A guy
who's draft analysis of the bottom ten is himself and
nine friends and a prius shouldn't have a microphone. Go
back to being a weak ass. Boardop you bitch at
the Jonas Knocks on X that is at the Jonas
(52:47):
Knox on X, or you can see those on Instagram
in our stories at Jonas Knox Show where you can
find that to see all the proof there as well too.
All Right, so somebody that listen, I mean, you know,
they depending on the day, depending on the discussion, depending
(53:11):
on the rule change, depending on the penalty or the
alter case. Like the opinions of Roger Goodell can vary
right now. Has he made some mistakes, Yes, he has
no doubt about it, you know, like the uh, the
whole Ray Rice thing, the initial two game suspension, and
(53:33):
then you know maybe they weren't his upfront about how
that whole thing went. And there's just there's some things
that have gone up. But the one thing as a fan,
you've got to admit when it comes to Roger Goodell.
You can complain about the penalties, you can complain about,
you know, the way the game, the presentation of the game,
the product itself. Roger Goodell is all about fans. Like
he's all about what's going to get us the most eyeballs. Look,
(53:56):
I'm not crazy about the International Games. I'll be honest,
with you like I have no interest in going to
Bangladesh to watch Titans Texans in color Rush jerseys, Like
I don't care. But he's growing the brand. He's sending
these tea It's like being on tour. Like if you're
a band and you want to be noticed, if you're
(54:18):
a comedian, if you're you know, the WWE, you go
on tour in different markets to build your fan base
in that market, to be seen by more and more eyeballs,
more discussion. So he like that is his approach, and
it's always been his approach to grow the product. He's
always tried to find things about the game to improve
the extra point. He thought it was a throwaway play,
(54:39):
so what did he do. He moved it back. Now
it's not like he's tried to find a way to
make the game more interesting. And most of all four fans,
he wasn't open to gambling. Then he saw how much
money was involved and how many people wanted to be
are taking and all that, and he realized, oh, fantasy
football gambling. Okay, yeah, we'll take that too. You can
(55:01):
say he's disingenuous, you can say he's whatever you want.
The one thing you can't say is that he doesn't
have an ear and an eye towards what's going to
be the best thing for the fan. How can I
get this scene by more? And from that alone, that's
a reason why he's where he's at and continues to
stay on as commissioner because the owners realize, man, he's
(55:22):
making us a ton of money. So the discussion of
the Detroit Lions and their playoff seating proposal came up
at the owner's meetings this past week and it got tabled,
which means they're going to discuss it in May at
the next meetings, much like the Tush push and much
(55:46):
like other things where they're like, hmm, yeah, maybe we
need to do something about that. Like if they just
weren't into it at all, it wouldn't even be discussed. Again,
it's not happening. But the Detroit Lions have looked at
this and said, hey, man, like maybe we do this
whole playoff seating different to where you don't just reward
(56:06):
a home playoff game to a team that wins a division,
especially if that team's got a worse record than the
wildcard team that they're playing. We saw that happen this
year Minnesota at the Rams Washington at Tampa Bay like
we saw it happen, and so Roger Goodell apparently was
the one who was looking into this from a fans perspective.
(56:30):
As Albert Breer laid out with us yesterday morning on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (56:35):
I think Rogers really cognitive of what the current seating
format's done to the end of the regular season and
how you know Week seventeen and eighteen have lost a
lot of their luster, and he likes the idea to
open seating to create more drama at the end of
the year and maybe push his coaches to have their
foot on the gas at the end of the season
a way that they don't right now. So that was
(56:57):
that's sort of like my overarching takeaway is out.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
You know, Rogers seemed to have a lot of.
Speaker 4 (57:02):
Command over the things that were happening with the rules
over the course of a lots few days.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
Anybody that pushes back on the playoff seeding idea, it
makes no sense. The only people that make sense for
are the owners. So while Roger Goodell is sitting there
trying to discuss with the owners, hey, this is going
to be great for the game, the fact that it's
being tabled is him letting the owners know, Hey, we
(57:31):
got to find some votes because I think we need
to look into this because it doesn't make sense. If
you're a nine to eight football team, why should you
host a playoff game over a team that won thirteen
just because they weren't a tougher division. The only pushback
would be from the owners because they don't want to
(57:51):
lose out on that home playoff revenue if they won
their division. Well, I mean you're diminishing the divisions. No,
you're not. You're not diminishing them at all. Well, what's
the reward if you win your division? It's called a
playoff spot. That's your reward. Like you want a reward
(58:11):
and then some just because you played in a bad division.
It doesn't make sense. And so the fact that Roger Goodell,
as Albert laid out is like, no, listen, we should
pick this one back up, like we should look into
this again. And Rich McKay even pointed out, while you know,
at the owner's meetings, rich McKay pointed out, like, hey man,
(58:32):
maybe there's an idea that we have a wildcard team
getting a home playoff game over division winner if a
division winner is five hundred or below. If that's the case, yeah,
we'll do that, and other circumstances maybe not. And to
me it makes all the sense in the world. But
if there's pushback on it, it's not from Roger Goodell,
(58:52):
Like anybody with half a brain can see this setup
and realize, oh, that's not fair. I've got a better
wreck than you, but you play weaker competition and you
get the home game. That's unfair. It doesn't make sense.
Anybody with half anybody who's being honest, sees that there's
an issue there. The pushback is coming from the owners.
(59:17):
But Roger Goodell, the guy who's basically the windshield for
owners and has to take every bug, every bullet, every
everything when they're driving down this highway to try and
grow the game, he's the one that's looking out for
the betterment of the fans, saying, non man, listen, this
is going to create a better product down the stretch
because it doesn't make sense how we're doing it currently

(01:00:22):
that's just got to go away. It's just got to
go away. Like we've reached the end. Hopefully it'll be
ending here within the next I don't know, a few weeks.
We'll get into that for you here on FSR. But
for all the latest from around the world of sports.
This man is Sports Talk Roots.
Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
Excuse me, I'm that too.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
Three two one. This man is Sports Talk Radio Royalty.
He's the one and only he's the magnificent. He's Sir
Isaac Longcron. Why thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
And speaking of magnificence, I know we'll delete that apart
from the podcast. That's all your pitch a perfect game
in baseball.
Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
I was just gonna say, there goes my perfect game, Jesus.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Like I said, you can call me Isaac if we
delete it from the podcast. Did you really make that
mistake though?
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Yeah, but you know me, I'm all on the up
and up here.
Speaker 5 (01:01:13):
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
Listen, no, uh, you've got discipline. If you work out
at one thirty in the morning, you're someone who has
disciplined baby.
Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
I mean it's not that hard, Like you just got
to get up and do it, and that way you
could be awake for a show.
Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
At the same time. I appreciate your restraint because most
of the other goofs out there on social media would
like instagram about it with the hashtag rise and grind
and they would hold up their watch with the time.
Can't stand those people.
Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
It's so lay.
Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
Yeah, So give yourself some credit. A lot of credit
goes to the following Basketball Hall of Fame class of
twenty twenty five, officially announced today, consisting of Carmelo, Anthony
Dwight Howard, Billy Donovan, Sue Byrd, Maya Moore, Sylvia Foles,
referee Denny Crawford, Miami Heat owner Mickey Arrison, and the
two thousand and eight US Olympic Men's basketball team. The
(01:02:05):
Final Four from San Antonio tips off at six point
nine Eastern Florida against Auburn, followed a eight forty nine
eastern by Houston going up against Duke. As we speak,
the Final Four rally continues on the Riverwalk in San Antonio,
including performances by the marching bands of all four teams
that are performing while floating down the San Antonio River
(01:02:26):
on boats. Let's listen. Short time ago, the Florida Marching
band played the theme song from Jaws while doing the
gator chomp with their instrument. Props to the Tuba player.
Speaker 5 (01:02:36):
By the way.
Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
One NBA game going on right now. The Knicks to
thirty four to twenty four lead at Atlanta, one to
eighteen left to play in the first quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
There.
Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
Major League Baseball, the Arizona Diamondbacks today placed All star
second baseman Catel Marte on the ten day injured list
with the strained left hamstring. The Detroit Tigers beat the
Chicago White Sox today seven to two. Carrie Carpenter of
the Tigers is third home run in two games. The
Chicago Cubs laid the San Diego Padres three nothing on
the top of the fourth inning. Their lead includes a
(01:03:05):
solo home run by Dansby Swanson, and the Minnesota Twins
up four to one over the Houston Astros in the
bottom half of the fourth inning. Finally, in soccer Jonas Mercurial,
former Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho, who is now
coaching a professional club in Turkey, was suspended for three
(01:03:25):
matches and fined nearly eight thousand dollars today for grabbing
the opposing team's head coach by the nose and throwing
him down to the ground. It all happened during a
postmatch altercation on Wednesday, grabbed the guy my the nose
and threw him down to the ground. The opposing team's
(01:03:46):
Twitter account later posted a message directed at Mourinho saying,
in all capital letters quote you should not attack, you
should digest unquote, followed by a shushing emoji, you should
not attack, you should digest. So you see Jonas controversies
overseas are even more dramatic than the ones involving John
(01:04:09):
Morant and his imaginary finger guns.
Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
I prefer really not to speak. If I speak, I'm
in big trouble. By the way, how big is your
nose that it can be used as leverage on a takedown?
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
Actually, apparently apparently we do have audio. Yeah, we do
have audio of the incident involving the coach being grabbed
by the nose. Hey, you guys, actually to be fit?
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
Is there a video of him, yes, taking this guy? Yes, yes,
I gotta see that.
Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
But look, in fairness to Mourinho, I'm not saying you
should grab the guy by the nose, but the other
coach totally took a dive. I mean, it's it's, you know,
it's it's kind of what what what what they do
in soccer?
Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Socy, he's got a beakon half on them.
Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
By the way, greatest story I recently heard the late
great hockey legend Gordy Howe. In an altercation with another team,
he once stuck his fingers up the nostrils of his opponent,
as if the opponent that he was fighting was a
bowling ball, and subdued him that way. Good strategy. That's
(01:05:18):
why he was one of the greats of all time.
You know, I'd like to defend Jose Mourinho here. Okay,
you're you're watching the video.
Speaker 2 (01:05:27):
I take it. Yeah, Like, how do we know he
wasn't trying to like, hey, I'm trying to get your attention,
and you know, grab him by the chin to turn
him around, and all of a sudden, that javelin for
a nose on his face gets in the way and
the guy falls on the ground. Guy's got a boomerang
above his lips. What's he supposed to do? He's trying
to grab him to get his attention, and the guy
(01:05:48):
throws himself on the ground.
Speaker 1 (01:05:49):
I'm it's the other coach's fault because his nose was
too big.
Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
That's correct. That is correct enough enough here, I'm tired
of people getting the blame for other circumstances that are
outside of their control. This guy has got a giant snotbox.
He ran his mouth. The coach tried to get his attention,
(01:06:16):
so hey, can we talk about this like men? And
he let that that boomerang on his face getting away.
That's his fault, not Hosey Marin. I'm with Hose Mourinho here, right,
I think he should be exonerating on all charges.
Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
So will you be filing an appeal with the Turkish
Soccer Federation on his behalf?
Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Sure? I'll fly to his Stanbull right after the show.
Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
It worked for Sean Connery from Russia with love.
Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
Yeah, guys, hey like, so what's your defense here? What
do you mean? What's my defense? Look at that guy,
he's got a street cone on his face. What was
I supposed to do? I'm trying to get his attention.
The guy turns around like, what do you want? Couldn't
the other head coach have smelled Mourinho coming and known
could get out of the way. I mean that other
head coach looks like he could do blowout of a
(01:07:02):
sewer pipe. I mean that's his fault. That's not Jose
Mourinho's fault. Let's go live to our. I have a
thought on something inside of Chris Prophet for the latest Crist.
Speaker 6 (01:07:12):
He he dives worse than I've seen a player dive
out a long time in soccer too, Like you barely
touch the nose and he's just looking like he shot well.
Speaker 2 (01:07:21):
I mean, look how top heavy he is?
Speaker 3 (01:07:23):
What do you want to do?
Speaker 2 (01:07:24):
Like it's like blaming the Mount Rushmore guys like, hey,
you know there's an earthquake. Why that guy's head fall off?
What do you mean look at the size of that thing?
What do you wanted to do?
Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
Like?
Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
What do you want to? Sit there? And like na, na,
everybody remain cool, Everybody calm down. It's like no, of course,
heads are gonna roll. Literally, this guy's got a giant nose,
gets in the way and he's running his mouth with it.
I think he actually tried to use his beak is
a weapon. Jose Mourinho should actually countersuit and then file
a grievance to get him against him. He probably broke
(01:07:57):
his fingers trying to get a hold of that.
Speaker 1 (01:07:59):
So you're saying that he attacked Maurinho with his nose
when he pivoted to the right. Yes, I see it
on frame three thirteen.
Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
That is correct. Okay, guys walking around with a flower
vase above his mouth?
Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
Do you have like an app?
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
It's an altercation?
Speaker 1 (01:08:21):
Do you have like an app in front of you?
Open with synonyms for a large dose.
Speaker 2 (01:08:26):
I'm tired of innocent people like Jose Mourinho and Ja
Morant getting criticized by people. This guy was was was
attacked and approached by a coach with a giant nose,
and Ja Morant pulled out an invisible musket and got
fined seventy five thousand dollars. Enough's enough, man. You got
(01:08:48):
to stick up with the little man from time to time,
and apparently I'm the only one willing to do it.
Tired of this crap, you know? All right? Hey, by
the way, calm the chaos with the shipping software that
delivers use code sports for a free trial at shipstation
(01:09:09):
dot com. That's shipstation dot com code Sports. I would
like to say this before we go to break here
and get to another edition of the Scraps. Jason Kelsey
has had to respond to, you know, players on the
defensive side, people that are against the toushpush. You know,
Mark Murphy. I believe somebody with the bills brought up like,
(01:09:33):
oh well, you know, Jason Kelsey has talked about how
grueling it is for the center and he yells f
my life when every time the play was called, to
which Jason Kelsey said, I never said it was dangerous, Okay,
I never said anything like that. I'm willing to testify
or have a conversation. Could somebody just make the decision
and move on with it. I'm so tired of hearing
about the toushpush. I'm just done with it. Like, can
(01:09:53):
we just make a call. It's a goofy looking play.
Whatever you decide, let's just go with that, and let's
move on with our lives, all right. If you to
get rid of it, and then we decide at the
end of this whole thing that maybe that yard, that
one single play was really the key ingredient to the
Eagles winning a Super Bowl, then do what you gotta do.
But at this point, let's just move on. If we're
gonna get rid of that, let's get rid of carrying
(01:10:15):
ball carriers over the line of scrimmage and over the
goal line. Let's just get rid of it all so
we can then move on with our lives. That's it,
all right. At the Jonas Knox on X at Jonas
Knox Show on Instagram. Coming up next here, though, we
are going to close up shop with a little something
we do each and every week. We are going to
get to the things we have not had a chance

the Scraps right here on FSR Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.
It's been a wild show today. Lot going on, by
the way, stick around a little over fifteen minutes from

close up shop with this, Jonas you.
Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
Moron, how could you not get to these stories?
Speaker 4 (01:11:41):
Moron?
Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
These are the Scraps and for that we turn it
over to our executive producer, Bo Benson. To find out
what the hell we've missed so far in.
Speaker 7 (01:11:48):
The show bo Well, happy trails to Julio Jones officially
announcing his retirement from the NFL. The best wide receiver
that I've ever seen with my own two eyes. I
believe that's considered.
Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
It's kind of like when you look at his and
he had a great career, but I think there was
a thought that he was a no doubt Hall of
Famer and then it just kind of vanished. It's weird,
like he was on like he was on pace, and
you look at his numbers and the trajectory and you
look at every like, and then all of a sudden,
it was just that was it.
Speaker 7 (01:12:22):
Yeah, I think I think he'll get in just he
was so good. He was so good some of the
stuff he did. And it was from day one too, Like, oh,
I agree, it always takes he usually takes a year
for the for ride receivers to break in and get comfortable.
But Julio, like I think from his first game he
had like an eighty yard touchdown or something.
Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
Right, Yeah, he was.
Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
He was awes and I think he's a Nick Saban
has said he's one of those, like one of his
favorite players at Alabama. Yeah, and he coached like one
of those guys. But like you look at like he
had a run from like twenty fourteen until twenty eighteen
or even twenty nineteen where it was just he was
fantastic for five years years he was like the best
(01:13:01):
wide receiver in the NFL. And after that it just
he entered his final year in Atlanta, then he bounced
to Tennessee. It didn't work. He was in Tampa, he
was in Philly in twenty twenty three. It just didn't
like like what he just for whatever reason. And also
he was one of those guys for anybody who played
fantasy football, it was frustrating unless you were in a
(01:13:21):
PPR league of points per reception league, because he didn't
catch for the touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:13:27):
Like it was he was always like, oh man, I'm
drafting Julio Jones. But like only one time in his
career did he have ten touchdowns or more to receive
receiving in a year. Like other than that, like he
just wasn't a touchdown guy. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:13:39):
I think I think the most unfortunate thing with Julio
two is just that his best game I think is
just going to be forgotten because it wasn't that Super
Bowl against the Patriots.
Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
Awesome.
Speaker 7 (01:13:47):
Yeah, he was awesome in that game. Yeah, insane catches
in that game, but it just doesn't matter because they
flew that twenty eight to three lead. Sorry Atlanta fans.
Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
Yeah, let me look at I want to actually checked
it like a vamp for me year because I want
to check that because that was a I remember because
he had that great catch. Yeah, that was like a
really clutch catch to where that it was one of
those catches where you're like, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
That might be the yeah, the one.
Speaker 7 (01:14:10):
It was the catch where if they had just you know,
proceeded to run the ball not lose yardage, they would
have won the game. He he had that catch to
put them in position to win that game and it
didn't matter.
Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
Here.
Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
Yeah, Julio Jones like, yeah, he had a monster catch. Yeah,
he was Oh come on boy, you only had four
catches for eighty seven yards in that.
Speaker 7 (01:14:28):
Came which with you catch catch with us sealed it.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
What else we got?
Speaker 7 (01:14:34):
Bo Bryce Harper yesterday, speaking ahead of their game against
the undefeated at the time Dodgers. Uh, he told people
that quit whining about the Dodgers. Uh basically said it's lame.
Bryce Harper subscribing to my belief that losers make excuses
and winners make it happen. So well, he's one hundred
percent correct.
Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
Yes, Like it's it's not as if other teams can't
do what they're doing, like you want to you want
to example, how about the Cubs have of the Cubs ownerships,
like now, we don't want to do deferred contracts and
you're not interested in that. It's like, okay, so you
lose out on Tanner Scott. Anybody's seen the bullpen this
year probably could have used him like he was ready,
(01:15:12):
he wanted to go to Chicago. I'd like to be there.
Now lost out on him, Alex Bregman Na, no listen now,
and we're not doing deferred com Okay, fine, they'll just
go elsewhere. It's like the other teams have the opportunity
and the ability to do this and they don't do it.
And the reality is there are organizations, there are teams
(01:15:34):
in sports. The Cubs are one of them where they
know they've got those fans by the balls because as
long as they have Wrigley Field, they're still going to
draw numbers. They're still going to draw a huge crowd.
Like I can remember I went to a Cubs Padres
game a couple of years ago and we were at
a store across I think it was I think it's
(01:15:54):
called Wrigley Bill Sports. We're at a store across the way,
and it was like you know later in the series,
like it was a bad they were bad, and this
guy's kind of flipping through stuff and he just looks
at me. I don't I had no idea who the
guy was. He just looks at me and goes bad.
They really got us because they are terrible and never
(01:16:14):
have like a lack of attendance, lack of like not.
And it's like, yeah, you're right one hundred percent. So
what's the incentive for them to want to go out
and spend and actually build a championship winner if they
know they're just going to draw people into these state
into the stadium or arena every single time. So the
Dodgers are actually putting money where their where their mouth is,
and they're actually building a dynasty and it's not like
(01:16:37):
they're just doing it by buying players. Have a great
farm system as well, too. It's just people are bitter
about it. Yeah, tough balls.
Speaker 7 (01:16:44):
Yeah, especially with Kyle Tucker. I mean, Cubs just traded
for him and he's going to be a freezing in
the off season. It'll be Oh, they're not signing him
yeah before the season started.
Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
Oh yeah, no, no that's not happening. No, absolutely not.
Speaker 5 (01:16:56):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
I wonder if the Cubs think they're the Bears and
they could just franchise Tag like, I wonder if that's
what it is, like you No, no, he won't reside there,
of course not. What else would that be.
Speaker 7 (01:17:05):
USC's Juju Watkins named the twenty twenty five Wooden Award
winner for on Saturday here for women's basketball. So another
accolade for Juju, although her season did end prematurely.
Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Yeah, so go ahead, go ahead, But why don't you
Why did you just do what you want to do?
You just just just do what you want to do
to u c l A fans right now, just do
it all? Right?
Speaker 7 (01:17:26):
What what did something happen to u c l A.
Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
Oh, I'm yeah, like the the the women's team were
lost by points? Like, I mean, go ahead, bow like,
just take take your potshots at you. You ought to
be a shave to yourself.
Speaker 3 (01:17:40):
You know that.
Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
It's like, it's it's a difficult time for the Bruins
and you got to sit here and bring up the
bad stuff. It's the matter with you.
Speaker 7 (01:17:46):
Well, it's just you know, Steve Hartman, Big Mike, all
of the worst people you know are Bruins fans.
Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
So Bo, everybody can't say, well, it's really that's what
you realize that you're now like the only way you
can do an impression involves a curse word. It's like
trying to do an Andrew dice Clay impression on the air.
If you try and do Big Mic, who runs our
editing department here on the air, you have to include
(01:18:12):
an F bomb. So it's just not an accurate portrayal
of the great Big Mic. It's been a fun one.
Thanks to Bo, thanks to Chris, thanks to Isaac, and
thanks to you for listening. Jonas Knox here on Fox
Sports Radio,
