Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
H Yes, once again living the dream here on what
will be a fully loaded sports Sunday. This is Fox
Sports Sunday and we are broadcasting live from the ti
iraq dot com studios. Ty Rack dot com are gonna
help get you there and unmatched selection, fast reshipping, free
roadhats of protection, over ten thousand recommended installers, tie iraq

(00:24):
dot com the way tire buying should be. This is
one of those days where you wake up as a
sports fan saying, oh, yeah, yeah, this is what we're
talking about.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
This this is one of those days.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I mean, I mean, let's let's just start with the
obvious final round Masters, which is always a special day.
But when you have the kind of matchup that we
got for later on today between Rory McElroy and bryceon De'shambo,
two guys looking to put on that green jackup for
the first time, two very different stories, and that alone

(01:01):
is enough. But also we have the final day of
the NBA regular season. In fact, I like to bring
in Monsey for one second here, VJ. I like to
get to her thoughts first, because of her LA Clippers
on the road against the Golden State Warriors.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
The only thing at stake here.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Well, I'll put it this way, Moncey, the Clippers on
the road against the Warriors. A Clippers win, depending on
what happens, they'll be a four or five seed. They'll
get the week off. They lose, and they're in that
playing game on Tuesday. And by the way, they would
be hosting the Memphis Grizzlies. If that happens, I will
actually be making my first appearance at into it because

(01:41):
I am on the schedule to cover that game.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Listen to a Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
If it happens, it is amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
So first of all, it's amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Yes, there's a lot writing on today's games. I'm a
little nervous, not I'm telling you, I think the Clippers
are a real deal. They are team that you don't
want to face. Obviously, playing in the play doesn't help
us because of the whole injury with Kawhi Leonard. It's
just adding a little bit of a layer of risk, right,
So that's why I wouldn't want to go into that,

(02:11):
to be honest. And unfortunately it's.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
If we win out. I still think we can and
if we win, I think we're safe out of the
play in.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Oh, you're out of the play in.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
If you win, you're guaranteed not going to be in
the play and you need either be the four or
five seed, depending on what Dever does.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Right, So the five seed, the loser starts at Crypto
against the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
No, the Clippers actually could be a four seed if
the Nuggets lose, because right now the Clippers and Nuggets
are the winner.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
But the winner of this game essentially avoids the Lakers
in the first round.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
I thought the best there was no Lakers Clippers at
all possible.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
There is no Lakers Clippers because they can't be the
sixth seed. The Clippers can either be the four seed,
the five seed, or the seventh seed exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
So that's it.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
There will be no first round matchup between the Clippers
and Theers. Ahi Moncie. We'll have plenty on that a
little bit later on. We got the tip off of
that game coming up here in about an hour and
a half. Vj as I was saying here at the
opening of the show, this is one of those days
that is going to be memorable. I mean, there's just
way too many stories that we're going to cover over
the next three hours. Certainly in the final round of

(03:18):
the Masters. Now, do not sit here, VJ and try
to convince me that you have no interest in the
final round matchup between ry McElroy and Bryson de Shamba
to don their first green jacket. Please tell me that
you have interest in the final round of the Masters,
because if you don't, we're going to have a very
long show today because I'm going to be all over this.

(03:38):
Now there's still not teeing off for a while. I'm
not going to pretend to interest in anything other than
that dual.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
But once those two.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Guys tee off, I am going to be absolutely laser
focused on every shot that they take.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Well, that's a good thing. You got, all the years
experience you do.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
Man.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
You can turn into the Golf Channel Steve Hartman once
they say off, Man. But also it's not Mary Brother.
I got to speak to you. Gotta say with something
I see Manci back then wait for clippers and my
pist is getting ready for the playoffs. Take out them
Nickelbox in the first round song as always, Man, I
want to say with something all to listening fans out
there and Fox Sports Radio listening to world.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
VJ.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Verner Husky in the building this morning. Happy Palm Sunday
too to all of you people out there who celebrate
that realm of life too. Man, I definitely do so.
Uh to answer your question, of course, I'm a golfer.
Come on, I'm a sport. I'm a sport. Not see
you are you asking as if like you shouldn't already know?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
See, I don't know sometimes you I mean, sometimes I
feel like, oh yeah, Vj's absolutely one hundred percent in
on this, and then you're not. The other times of those.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Are topics, and those are questions and differences we have
as far as opinion. I've got ripped at this network
by other guests because I cared about the World Baseball Classic.
I've been ripped at this network by other co hosts
because I can about the NHL playoffs and I care
about actually world. Come like, I actually sat here and
had someone yelling, screaming, arguing me over the Gold Cup

(05:08):
and it's like, no one cares. Yeah, people do care.
No one cares about that storry. Yes, look at the
ratings when TUSA plays people doing it. When I say
concor CAF, you get a little shit.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
What are you? Come on?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Man, concor Calf, the Copa, the cop of the Red Cup.
The couple with Gozi and I sat here and we
were like excited for the matchups that were coming up
in the finals. They're like, come on, man, so to
asks me VJ rite a Husky, the Big Vanilla Funny,
the Big Vanilla sports talw Poppy and my interested in
an eighteen old duel. Okay, yeah, see how I said that?

(05:41):
See I got to you. See what you just did
right there? You got me going, right right, because I'm
doing that on purpose. I want to get you going.
It's palm sunny, it's a great day. I want to
get you going.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
We're gonna be teeing off hearing about twenty five minutes. Yeah,
down the last eighteen right, See.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
How you just did that again? See that shaky stage.
So let me ask you this, come on man, all right,
silly question.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Okay, So let's let's talk a little bit about what's
going to be going on the Masters.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Who's winn who's winning? Who you got to see? This
is what he you got?

Speaker 2 (06:05):
So last night I'm doing television last night, and you
know they're expecting me to make my pick for the Masters,
right and here's the thing. I am rooting so hard
for Roy McElroy, and this is why this is not
a knock on Bryson to Shambo.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
I am a Deshambo fan, but I like the story
of McElroy.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
I like the fact that he's gone through all this
adversity and he could have ended this ten years ago
and completed the Career Grand Slam and there would be
no drama and we just would have moved on. But
the fact that this is his eleventh try to finally
get this thing done. The two double bogies on the
first round, then he comes back with back to back
sixty six is and there's the Shambo man rolling in

(06:47):
that fifty foot putt at eighteen to cut the leading exprice.

Speaker 6 (06:50):
It.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
I mean, look, I'm nice.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
It's not that I'm rooting against the Shambo, but I'm
one hundred percent rooting for Rory McElroy.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
I'm a McElroy fan.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I think that he has faced a lot of adversity
in these majors, mostly self induced.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
So I'm just anxious to see if this.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Guy can hold it together and walk away and become
the sixth golf forever to complete the career Grand Slam.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
So I'm rooting for him, But what that makes me
hesitant to pick him because I'm so bad with my
prognostication that if I pick him, I know he's gonna lose.

Speaker 7 (07:21):
This guy, I'm rooting for Rri today. This guy was
supposed to take the mantle. Yes, he was supposed to
take the tours first. Now listen, then let me let
me throw some golf VJ in the knowledge on you.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
You might not know that I know. Now. Remember when
Sergey old Garcia, yes dual Tiger at the players right
on that last day, and people say, wow, here here
he comes. Here comes the guy that's gonna that's gonna
challenge Tiger. And okay, we had Jordan's Speith, go win
a Master, sign a Jordan deal, get another Grand Slam,

(07:53):
get another Major. Get oh, here comes the guy again
that's going to replace type. And then Roy McElroy, who's
great friends with Tiger. They play together, they they are friends, is.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Said over and over again. It was all Tiger Woods
they created.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
I think Tiger would looked at him and said, you
know what, I'm gonna mode before Charlie came along, because
Charlie's the next one. But before Charlie came along. Oh yeah,
Charlie's the next one. Trust me, this is gonna be
father's son dominance in golf. What did Mark mar words
we'll talk about twenty years from now, you'll still be around.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Did you see his junior ranking in Florida? Come on, man,
I mean, I mean this is like saying, Okay, Bronni's
the next Lebron Yeah no, no, not.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Scott. First of all, First of all, quick sidebar, Charlie
is going to be a better golfer than Brown. He's
going to be a basketball play.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
I mean, we haven't seen anything yet to actually prove that.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Okay, But but with Rory, I think Tiger actually looked
at him. And because Tiger's like Jordan, right, he only
really gave love and he was very cordial with everybody,
but he wanted to rip your heart and he wanted
to kill you. But he kind of saw some than Toy,
like Jordan, kind of saw something in Kobe and that's
the one that they kind of led in. Gave their
little tidbits too, gave their little secrets too, and Rory,

(09:08):
you're getting it from the goat. In my opinion, I
know this that my opinion my lifetime to go tacker Woods.
You're getting it from him, and what have you done
with it over the last I'll tell you what he's done.
He's won everything except these majors.

Speaker 6 (09:19):
All right.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
I mean, so that's the problem, is what's your fact?
The the insidious thing about that?

Speaker 6 (09:24):
You know?

Speaker 1 (09:24):
It was this way, by the way, was Arnold Palmer.
Arno Palmer was the same way where he had won
four masters, and all of a sudden he has these
meltdowns in these majors and he never wins another major.
It was just like he was on paid and Jack
Nicholas sort of got into his head and the next
thing you know, Nicholas takes off and Palmer just stopped
and continued to be a great ambassador of sport, made

(09:46):
zillions of dollars, but he could not win another major. Genesis.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Yeah, So I mean it just it seems like, you
know that if McElroy can finally break there, I'm not
one hundred percent saying oh, he's going to do it today.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I would not say that the shamb is another guy.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
And by the way, I'm very happy that not more
is being made of this PGA versus live. So the
live golfers buy and large did not play well at
this year's Masters. They did that on purpose. They made
the course like that well. But de Shambo doesn't seem
to be faced at all. In fact, I heard Dan
Byer earlier talking about the Bryson to Shambo almost seems liberated.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
By his being on live tour, allowing him to.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Do some outside things that he really helps his game,
his mental being, his life period.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
I mean he has gone through a change.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I mean there's no doubt Bryson to Shambo just a
few years ago, remember when he claimed that Augusta now
was a par sixty seven cores and the golf gods
are like, no, no, So you don't do that to
a guts.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Is going to choke this away today, mark my words.
I hope he does.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Here's what I would love to see without without a
picking a winner here. I hope these guys go to
I hope this is like a battle. In nineteen seventy seven,
the Open Championship was a turn barry between Tom Watson
and Jack Nicholas. They cleared themselves by ten strokes of
the rest of the field and it went down to
the final hole.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
And it looked like Nicholas was two back and he
had no chance.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
He was in the rough, and he hits this miraculous
once in a lifetime shot and then rolls like a
force Watson to make a short put to actually win
the tournament. That's what I want to see today. I
want to see both these guys play lights out, clear
themselves from the rest of the field, and just a
duel between two great players playing some great golf on

(11:37):
this phenomenal course.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
That's what I want to see.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Go to a team one stroke difference, tie whatever, and
let the best man.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
I'm gonna take a step further. I need Connors to
get involved with this. He's right there. This is the
last day of the Masters. The screws or going to
tighten very tight, especially when they get around a man
corner Mark Marware. It's gonna start the don't scores won't
hold up. I guarantee you twelve. I think the winner
of this is probably at about ten under. I here,

(12:05):
let me just throw out something.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Hedeki Matsiyama, former Masters champion, who had a meltdown seventy
nine yesterday, crazy sixty six today. So he finished off
with a sixty six. So the scoring the weather has
been perfect. It's been really perfect conditions at Augusta National.
But the fact that Matsiyama posted a sixty six, one
of the first guys off after a complete meltdown yesterday,
shit shows.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
You the scores are out there. I disagree. I think
early in the day.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
I'm not saying guys are gonna shoot sixty six, sixty five,
nothing like that. But I say sixty eight sixty nine
For the leaders, I think that they're gonna be probably
around fourteen fifteen somewhere in that neighborhood. If they're gonna
have to play well, both feet off each other. I
don't think that one is going to back down. It
feels tight today. Look what both of them are going
for him.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
This is Roy. Trust me. If if he for one second,
one iota of a second, thinks about the pass and
thinks about the meltdowns, that overquestions himself. Clubs down too much,
clubs up too much. Trust There's there's something out here today.
I don't think this is just gonna be a classic. Dude,
We're both gonna shoot sixty seven, sixty eight, sixty six
today and fighting to the finish, because then Rory's gonna

(13:11):
win it. I think there's some bogies out there. I
think there's some wayward shots out there. I think there's
some miss short putts that make the everybody go, did
you see what happened on thirteen yesterday before? I think
that's coming today. We need it from the sports guys
at the Masters on the final round.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Absolutely so we'll be all over that as soon as
the leaders will tee off, which is gonna be in
about fifteen minutes.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
All right.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Coming up on the other side, we'll talk about the
NBA playoffs right now. And I'm gonna throw something right
at VJ that I threw out yesterday. Shay was so
upset he stormed in here, aghast that he had ever
disagreed with something I said. But I'm gonna tell you
it's gonna be a game ch mass.

Speaker 8 (13:54):
He was.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
He he he did not hesitate. He like blasted right
through the window to get to me. All Right, we
got all this coming up on a very busy Sunday.
This is Fox Sports Sunday. Don't listening to Fox Sports
Radio Radio, Steve Harvin, bja Husky. Here Foxsports Sunday. We
are live from the tyrack dot Com Studios. By the way,

(14:15):
you can stream this show and all of our Fox
Sports Radio shows live twenty four to seventh of the
new and improved iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Just search Fox Sports Radio on the app to stream
us live.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
And one of the newest features in the app is
that you can select Fox Sports Radio is one of
your presets, you know, like the presets on your radio dow,
so be sure to preset Fox Sports Radio in the
iHeartRadio app. It will always pop up at the top
of your screen. All right, So, Corey Connors and Patrick
Reid have just teed off, meaning there's only one more

(14:44):
duo ready to tee off in this final round the Masters.
That'll be Roy McElroy and Bryson to Shamba. That will
be happening here in less than ten minutes. So we
are off and running with the final round of the Masters.
And then also of course we're all off from running
as far as the MBA is concerned. By the way,
one guy that I did predict could make noise that
the Masters has done just that. Ludwig Oberg just birdied

(15:09):
the first hold to get to seven under. So if
you're looking for a guy in front of McElroy, and
de Shambo that could do some damage. Look for Oberg
who is just birdied the first hole, so he's one
of those guys of EJ. We have a huge day
of the NBA intermining really four through seven in the
Western Conference, and it all hinges on one game that's

(15:30):
going to be tipping off here in about an hour.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
That's going to be the Clippers and the Warriors.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Again, if the Clippers win, they'll be either the four
or five seed, most likely the five seed, unless Denver
will lose to a Houston team that's sitting everybody, and
then if they lose that game, they'll be in the
playing game against Memphis. And so that's a huge difference
of Vj's for the Clippers right now. We talked a
little bit about it earlier, but what's interesting about this

(15:56):
head to head against the Warriors is the Clippers have
swept all three games against the Warriors this year, so
they actually have played well against the Warriors. And this
Clipper team right now is on a roll. They won
seven in a row. They got a healthy Kawhi, they
got a healthy James Hardham, you know, putting up triple
doubles again. Obviously, zoobots has been a double double machine
all season long. Norman Powell obviously one of the best

(16:17):
six men in the league. So this is this is
a Clippers team that could win today. But then I
heard a guy, you know you might hear Steph Curry.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Saying, look, this is like a game seven seven. This
is a game seven seven.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
And we're at home. So it was obvious he fully expected.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Great. I mean, this is what you want.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
You want one of these classic matchups where a lot
is on the line. Huge game today between the Clippers
and the Warriors.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Yeah, huge game today between those two squads.

Speaker 7 (16:49):
You know what.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
My whole thing about this game seven thing because the
way it feels like, so like think about it, the
Clippers can't fall to six all right night, they can
fall to number seven th So it feels like three
and six locked in one two, three and six would
be locked in. The Sacramento Kings can't come up that far.
Neither can the Mins, Memphis Grizzly Minnesota Timberwolves sitting right there.

(17:10):
So the Minnesota timber Wolves would actually flop with the
Clippers and they would end up as the five seed
that the Clippers would have. Losing, the Clippers would be
down to the seventh seed, or if the Nuggets didn't
lose and the Clippers, when the Clippers would go up
to the four seats. So right now, and the way
you look at it, the Clippers are either going to
play the nugget to the Timberwolves in the playoffs. Well,
if they would fall to the fall to the plan.
But I think I think they'd get out of the plan.

(17:31):
I think they're good enough.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Whoa can I sow for a second there, because I
was talking about this last night.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Let's say the Clippers lose today and they fall to
the seven.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
All right, so they host the Memphis and they take
care of on Tuesday, then they match up against Houston.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
I mean, I would I dare say, if you're the Clippers.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Right now, Houston's not a bad first round opponent, even
if Houston's got a who court advantage.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
I don't agree with that. I think Houston is a
very very well coached basketball team. Back Um Dokua, I
just watched them play up close and personal cover in
the Lake. You do think the Clippers could be Friday
and it'll be tough. They're They're defensive, grinding type team.
They lean on you, They bump on you, Dylan Brooks,
em Doku, Jalen Green's legit, that kid in this fourth
campaign on the NBA along with k cunahan. Remember they

(18:14):
went one to that kid's legit. Just tell me who's
guarding him on a consistent basis. Maybe you can throw
Norman Powell on him. But now you're expending a lot
of defensive energy trying to stop a young gun like
that that's got fresh legs, that's got a fresh body. Right,
and like just I'll say, like this this idea that
you much rather, I don't like your much rather play. Yeah,

(18:37):
but match trips are a big part of this.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Yeah, yeah, I mean we saw the Lakers last couple
of years did not match up with the Denver Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yeah, but it was a bad match See. I don't
like that it's not there as a bad matchup. Is
that the different Nuggets have a two time MVP who
just averaged another triple double.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, but then you talk to Nuggets fans, they don't
want to see the t Wolves.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Why but guys, they've knocked him out last year and
the t Wolves a number don't matter the regular see
it next by Tuesday Night. Nothing that happened before Tuesday
Night is going to matter nothing. I don't care what
the records were, I don't care what happened last year.
I don't care what happened last week. When Tuesday starts,
it's all new. A lot of these guys are going

(19:18):
to Cabo and a lot of these guys are going
to Santrope and in Vegas on vacation, and then these
other guys are locking in. None of that to me, Okay,
I'll tell you what does matter. Kawhi Leonard.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Have believe forgotten the Kawhi Leonard is one of the
great great playoffs players every way two way great all
players the floor, right, So.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
He is that guy.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
And look, he's had false starts in a couple of
playoff runs with the Clippers where they're like, okay, he's back,
and then boom and then boom he goes down with
an injury. And so this is a huge X factor
as far as the Clippers. The only way, obviously the
Clippers can make a deep run is to keep Kawhi
Leonard on the court.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Do you trust it?

Speaker 6 (19:56):
When?

Speaker 1 (19:56):
When do we get no trust? Thank you?

Speaker 2 (19:58):
So?

Speaker 1 (19:58):
When do we get to the point that we can
look at the name. We have to look at the facts.
We can't go with if antson butts, it could have,
would have, should have. The fact this Kawhi Leonard is
one of the greatest two way players of his era.
Another fact is is that you can't just depend on
that's not banging on him. His body has let him down.

(20:20):
Penny Hardaway body let him down, Larry Johnson's body let
him down, Grant hills ankle let him down. It happens people.
It doesn't take nothing away from Kawhi. But I'm past
oh man, look at Kawhi No, I gotta see it.
I think he has a run in him. Well, I
think he has a run of them games five a series.

(20:40):
What's a run? A run is all the way to
the finish line. When when's the last time that's happened
for him? It's like four years now.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Okay, But this is the same thing you're talking about
Rory McElroy. You'd say, I don't trust rym. Got to
see it today after his meltdown at the US Open
at Pinehurst lash year is like again.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Come on, ain't not to me. That was like my
nailing the call for like you know what bruh, you
had the sauce, You had it right in your hands
and you dropped it. All right.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Right now, we're gonna see mcclroy and Dishambo tee off
for this final round duel, and both of them were
talking about it after yesterday's rounds.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
They're ready to go.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
It'll be interesting to see, if you know one, I
just don't think that, you know, McElroy said the right thing.
I can't be worrying about Deshamba.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
I got to stay in my cocoon and if you
have to say it, it's already up there. All right.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Well, we'll see how it is, all right, retirement. I
didn't get to the story that I want to break
with you, but I will on the other side. But
first let's find out what's trending right now. I know
she's on the edge of her seat with a hour
and away of tip off between her beloved Clippers and
the Warriors. Do you feel good in that game knowing
that the Clippers have won all three games against the

(21:48):
Warriors this season?

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Well, because we've won all three games in the season.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
No, yeah, okay, but you have to admit and none
of that in the end of those games where the
Clippers playing as well as they.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
Are right now, not at all, not at all.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
But at the same time, the Warriors, you know, weren't
playing as well as they are with Jimmy Buckets on
the court.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
So it's question for you, do you does that? Not
as a Clipper fan, because we see what the matchup
is gonna be, Like, you guys are gonna win the plan.
If you fall to seven, you're gonna win the plan.
I don't think you guys got to shot. You playing that? Well, well,
then you would play the Rockets they have so the
Rocket matchup?

Speaker 5 (22:18):
Does that?

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Does that? Would you rather play the Rockets or do
you want to play the Nuggets as the fourth third?

Speaker 3 (22:23):
I don't want to play the Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Okay, so you rather, but I don't.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
I also don't think that we should approach it being like, well,
if we lose, then maybe we don't have to see
the Nuggets and then we play the Rocket.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
So I don't like that mentality. But if I would pick,
I don't want to. I don't want to face the Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
And I agree with you. I mean, the Nuggets and
the Clippers in the first round.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
That be phenomenal, But I mean again, I would rather
play the Rockets.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
I would too, because the Rockets don't have an offense
the way other teams do.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
They're heavy on defense, but they don't have a go
to score. So I would like to face the Rockets
if I could pick. But don't approach it like that.
Don't lose to try and take an easier opponent in
the first round.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Not about that. Not about that.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
So if we see the Nuggets, we see the Nuggets.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
But I'd rather face the Lakers in the first round,
to be honest with you.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
But that's not gonna happen. Shut up, Shay, all right,
we'll start in baseball. The Yankees have added some more runs.
They're up on the Giants three to one, bottom of
the fourth inning.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
In the Bronx, the Orioles taking the lead from the
Blue Jays three to two.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Bottom of the third.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Bottom of the fourth with the Rays and the Braves,
Tampa is up to zero bottom of the fourth, also
between the Royals and the Guardians, and they're tied at
two apiece.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
The Reds are beating the Pirates to zero.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Top of the fourth, Nationals Marlins tied at one apiece.
Top of the fourth, Taylor Ward homeward for the Angels
in the first inning, so they're up on the Astros
one zero, top of the second, Angels nine to five.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Who what about that.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
The Twins also just scored Byron Buckston with a solo shot,
so they're up on the Tigers one zero, bottom of
the second inning. About to start in Minnesota. Lots of
games in the NBA, but the ones that are happening
right now don't really matter.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
We'll check in on those in a little bit. When
it gets to the Western Conference.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
Nobody cares no if you placed a bet on any
Eastern Conference team today, I'm sorry, but no.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
We'll talk about the NBA Western Conference in a bit.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
But another NBA news, Trailblazers and head coach Chauncey Billups
have agreed to a multi year contract extension. And lastly
unfortunate news, but former LSU receiver and NFL draft prospect
Kyrine Lacy died on Saturday night in Houston, Texans, Texas.
There's no real details as to what happened, but he
had been facing a negligent homicide charge after being involved

(24:33):
in a fatal car crash last December. A grand jury
was supposed to begin hearing evidence on the case tomorrow morning.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Yeah. His family, man, I've read that this morning in
just part twenty four years years. Oh, and I have
daughters older than that.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
That hurt.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Yeah, that's that's that's someone's child, man. God bless his family.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Very very sad, very very sad.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
All right, Monzi, thanks so much. We'll talk to you
a bit later on.

by the way. Opening drives for McElroy and Deshambo. I
think they're feeling a little pressure. McElroy's drive one into
the trap and Deshambo pulled his into the trees. So
both guys a little shakeow on those opening drives. So
at least on those opening drives, some nerves. We'll keep
you updated on this final round.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Of the Masters. All right, here's my good story. Yes
for you. Do you think nerves go away off to
their first hole on the last day when you're leading
in AUGUSTA.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Well, they go away if you start gathering yourself and
playing well. If you are struggling, then the nerves just
get worse and worse and worse. So interesting second shots
coming up to the first hole. Comedy a pair will
keep you updated.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
All right.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Here's the story that I talked about yesterday. And I
don't know why no one else had thought about this,
and everyone just seemed to gasp. This is Lebron James
farewell tour for the Lakers. Lebron James will not be
a Laker next season. Now.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
He will either be retired or he will have.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
A place of destination that he chooses where the Lakers
will send him. Here's what's painfully obvious. If you are
holding on hope that Lebron has a future with the Lakers,
understand this. This is now one hundred Luka Doncic's team.
They will build around Luka Doncic. He is the young
superstar that the future of this team hangs on. And

(27:06):
as Lebron will be approaching his forty first birthday next year.
As great a player as he has defied father Tom
all these last several years, he is not the guy
they're going to build the future around as far as
winning championships with Luka Doncic, and so they will take
advantage of this. They will either free up space if

(27:26):
he decides to call it a career, or though we'll
use him because he still has trade value, to try
to start building a team that will be around Luka
Doncic for the next five to eight years in an
effort to become champions once again. I don't think this
is outrageous because there is only one priority right now,
and that is securing Luka Doncic to a long term deal.

(27:49):
After his emotional return to Dallas, we obviously saw he
still has emotions about being a Dallas maverick back in
the day, and he has not locked up long term
with the Lakers, so that is they're absolute number one
priority to make sure he is locked up. He is
the future of the franchise. And it's no knocking Lebron,
but it's hard to say, all right, we're gonna tie

(28:10):
you to Lebron for the next three years as he
gets into his mid forties.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
It doesn't make sense. So I believe that this playoff run,
I don't think it.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
I think the Lakers maybe get into the second round.
I don't even see him getting to the Western Conference finals.
I think their defensive deficiencies are obvious. To get deep
rebounding obviously, so you know they can score. They have
a great offense, no question about that. But that and
then I didn't think it was that provocative to say it.
Everyone just had a meltdown around here, and I don't know,

(28:40):
like to get your thoughts here, VJ about the future
of Lebron in a Lakers uniform.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
All right, so I go as far as I can.
First of all, is this what Shay got all upset about? Yes? Okay,
So you can't take nothing seriously for Shae when it
comes to the Lakers. I learned that a year Ago.
I don't even have Laker discussions with Shade. It's my guy.
I love him to deb but no Laquer discussion with
the man. He's a fanatic. What does the Colin kaher
always say about fan It's short for what fanatic and
final are out of their mind. They don't have any
real logic, logical thoughts to their opinion as far as

(29:07):
why they love a guy, I love a team or whatever.
All right, cool, So now to say that this is
why I love when I record everything. So I told
you I was at the game and I covered the
Rockets game for Fox Sports Radio and two other entities,
including my own Vestment Sports LLC. I have a video
that's out there right now where I stood on the
court at about eleven fifteen pm Friday night during my
post game, and I echoed those exact same words that

(29:31):
you echoed yesterday. Look at this. I said it Friday night.
This is not Lebron James's team. I talked to the
great Bill Pulaski Saturday Friday night and we kind of
leaned in. And you've been in those rooms before where
once the player leaves, then the chatter starts between all
the journalists and reporters and you, uh, d we kind

(29:51):
of the three of us kind of feel the same, yeah,
the three of us. But he called this over the summertime.
He called it.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
This could be they They gave Lebron what he wanted,
right bag, Thank you James, to give him the chance
to check that final box.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Right for himself.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
It wasn't for Bron.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
He was about himself. He just got forty thousand points.
He's you know, yeah, dare guaranteed eight million dollars. Yeah,
they're right. Dave exasperated and Polinka, I said, when he
pulled this move, Polinka saved for five years because Politica
could go, hey, look I did everything this guy wanted,
including getting you guys, Anthony Davis, including getting you guys.

(30:31):
A twenty five year old Luka doncic I mentioned the
energy in the building. It hasn't been like that organically
since Kobe was there. Okay, this energy with Lebron is like, okay,
he's here. I hear these fans they're fifty to fifty
on him. Dude, they always have it. But it's the
whole Hey, he plays for my team, so I'm gonna
cheer for mentality. Right, It's been fifty to fifty of
that your dead spot on. I'm dead spot on with this,

(30:55):
this this, I think this is the off season. They go, Okay,
we can cut bait and he can't make us look
bad because we've given you everything you've asked for for
the note last eight nine years. Everything you've asked for,
you've gotten. And we even helped cover the fact that
you knew we were trading Anthony Davis because we can't
make that movie you knowing about it. Davis was dell.

(31:17):
Lebron's fate was he sealed?

Speaker 2 (31:19):
It was.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
I don't think him and Rich Paul got that at
the moment. But it's like, okay, we'll do this, but
we're not hitching a twenty five year old to you.
And you can see the energy when you Steve you
cover these games. You you seem like a guy like
me that just doesn't always watch the ball. You kind
of watched the court. There are times I'll watch Lebron
on the bitch for just like five I just want
to see your body language and what you're doing when

(31:42):
Luca's going ballistic. The other night he had thirty nine points, right,
we really all looked at the press box into each other.
When we looked at the final score, we're like, look
ahet their it didn't feel like a thirty nine. It's
getting to that point where yeah, nineteen shots, dude, We're
sitting there like, when did he score thirty nine points tonight?
And then you look at Lebron and it's fourteen sixteen.
The games where they're down, you can see a push,

(32:03):
push push and try to get involved. But when Luca's going,
it's you can tell it's his franchise now, and when
you are franchise.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Now Crypto dot com arena, is the crowd reacting more
to Lebron or by.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Far it's far even close. It's not close, ladies and gentlemen,
the introductions, and I think the crowd still cheers loud
for Lebron out of kind of respect and knowing that
if you don't, we know what we could kind of
get from this guy. We want him around as long
as you can, because Lebron's still.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
The bottom line is Laker fans have never fully accepted no,
no because.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
They ever because who who was the head up matchup
that everybody really wanted to see back in a nine
that we couldn't get. We wanted to sixty win plus
win Cleveland Cavaliers versus sixty plus win Los Angeles Lakers.
You had Kobe Lebron, It's magic and bird of this era,
and Lebron couldn't get past Dwight Howard and the or

(33:00):
land O match.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
It only seems appropriate that Lebron would deliver a championship
in the bubble, right. There was no Laker fans to celebrate,
no parade, paradeing, no home games, nothing, nothing. He won
a championship. He checked the box and deliver that. But okay,
well we're on the same accord there. So for everybody

(33:22):
else out there there, Lebron is Lebron. I still maintain
he is the goat. I know not everyone agrees, but
I look at it this way. Well, I mean, I
put it this way. Comparing Lebron to Michael Jordan in
a lot of ways is like Nicholas versus Tiger. In
other words, Lebron has the greatest resume of anyone in

(33:43):
the history of the NBA.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
If you look at the stats, you look at the
All League honors, you look.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
At just about every single box, he has the superior
numbers based on longevity, just like Jack Nicholas did. If
you're talking about who was better at their peak? Was
Jordan better his peaked than Lebron? Yes, same thing with
Tiger Woods. This it's hard to compare. This was the
argument I used to have about Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Why
is he not in the conversation? Look at his resume?

(34:08):
That was always my I mean, where's his resume? His
resume is better than anyone else's, but Lebron. I'm Lebron
has the best resume. If you just look at his
career compared to anybody, there's no one close to Lebron.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
That's the most shocking thing you've ever said. Sitting next
to me on line. Why is that You really think
Lebron James is the goat because he has the best
resume of all time and the most inflated damn resumelated, inflated, inflated.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Are you gonna ignore the fact that he goes to Miami,
goes to fourth raight finals, goes to Cleveland where they.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
And that week as the other top ten play All right, No, no, no,
it's Palm Sunday. It's Palm Sunday. We're not doing that.
You hold this all right.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Well, we're watching right now on the first screen the
showdown between the Shamba and McElroy. We're all over coming
back with more right here on Fox Sports Sunday.

Speaker 5 (34:58):

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Harvinhwski Here Fox Sports Sunday, We're live from the Tairaq
dot com studios. Well, that could not have been a
worst start for Rory McElroy. Double bogie three putted the
first hole, and just like that his two shot lead is.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Gone to Shambeau Pard. So they're both at ten under
par right now.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Corey Connor's bogie the first hole, he fell to seven under,
and Ludwig Oberg Berdie the first hole, he's just part
of the second, so he's at seven under. Strokes Ludberg.
One guy that is not making a move so far.
Scotty Scheffler is an idol. He is stuck at five under.
He has pars so far. But wow, watching Rory McElroy.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
And he wasn't close on those bet first. I mean
that was that was like Pineher's list. The first putt
was two feet to the left. It's six feet down
the back slope. Like, bro, you you weren't on or
you had this? Are you gonna have to speed and
on the first hole.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
I mean that's nerves. I mean there's no doubt about that.
So we'll see if McElroy can hold it together. Remember
yesterday he made Masters history opening with six straight threes.
Never happened in the history of the Masters, or someone
got threes on the first six holes. He went, Bertie, Eagle, birdie.
You know, I was unbelievable to start he got to yesterday.

(36:27):
So we'll see how it is. When you think about
these big hitters, though, McElroy and De Shambo, you'll look
at those par fives and obviously they're on one of
them right now the second hole. Yeah, and you know
some of you won an eagle. You can't walk away
with par you just can't. You got at least Bertie.
He can't writ par fives.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
He can walk away with a par right now because
he's coming off of a damn double bogie like he
needs not if De Shambo takes the lead, No, no,
that's fine, that's fine. I need but see here we go.
He can't worry about the shambo. You gotta worry about
your That was that was what made Tiger so great,
is he had laser focus.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
That's what's gonna compare him to anybody. And then, by
the way, Nicholas was the same way Nicholas. Here was
the thing about Jack Nicholas. He didn't put up the flashy,
dominant wins that Tiger did. He understood how to navigate majors.
He didn't take risk. He understood what he could do
and what he couldn't do. He played steady, and that's
why he walked away with eighteen majors. And he's been

(37:25):
trying to convince these guys that is the way to
play these majors. Stop looking for this spectacular highlight shot.
You know, let it come to you. Make the shot
you have to make. Don't make big mistakes in a
major because pressures across the.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Board, miss and another misputt. These guys are all over
the greens Diday, beautiful day. Yeah, it's called pressure. But
hold on, I am going to compare Ory. I'm gonna
go back to that. I am going to compare him
because this is the comparison I'm using is laser focus.
You can't worry about anything else around you. That's what
makes golf so great is you first. Of course, it's
not you verse the other guys. It's you verse the course.

(38:03):
In a minute, you start going, well, I don't want
to do this or I don't want to do it
this way because of this guy. You are done. He
is done. If he thinks that way, he'll finish it
eight under today. He'll have a bad closing round if
he thinks that way.

Speaker 6 (38:18):
Well.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
He is known as one of the best drivers in
the sport, and his first two drives of this round
have both ended up in sand traps, and that is
just not the way to go about that. So instead
of shooting for the greenm on his second shot, he
has to lay up short. So right now, I just
I hate watching this. I hate watching a great golfer

(38:39):
succumb to the pressures. And hopefully he can turn this
thing around. But right now, a horrific start for Rory
McRoy in this final round of the Masters.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
All right, trusting man, until I see it, Man, it's oh,
he's not that guy no more. You can't due now.
We just want to use real fast. You can't like
you can pick a lot of things off the floor
and eat. Okay, five second, you know what, You can't
pick up sauce. When you spill sauce on the floor.
You can't like scrapy. It's done. You just wipe it
up and clean it up. When you drop the sauce.
Man like he had it. He Ackroy had the sauce
and he dropped it. You can't pick it back up.

(39:11):
It's gone. You got to throw it away, sweep and
washing it away. He'll never be a golfer we wanted
him to be. It's not. He's getting older too. How
does he know well? But I mean, especially this one.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
I mean if if you rally from the two double
bogies in the first round to give yourself a two
shot league going into the final round, and then used
to come to the pressures again.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
I mean that he'll he'll never win this tournament, absolutely never,
and may never win another major, which is absolutely crazy
because he's done well. He just won the Players Championship.
He has two wins on his card this year. He
continues to be a dominant player on the PGA Tour,
number two ranked golfer in the world, but the mind games.
I mean, this is how golf works.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
The four man race, Steve, look at this. I told
you this is a foreman rate. This just ain't won.
And two bro Ayburg and Connors. They're right, there's three
shots over there.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Obert Obert's git me, Ober I'm so I know it's
an A, but it's a oh with a little accent
of Buffy.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
Okay, excuse me, Olber's family members, if you heard me,
miss Olber. But Olberg and Conners they're right there to sign.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Well, they need to make some they need to make
some shots. There's still three shots back right now. All right.
We'll continue on our coverage of the final round the Masters,
much more on the penning NBA playoffs, and we got
a whole lot of NFL Draft news to get to.
This is Fox Sports Sunday. Run along here on this

all right.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
Obviously, we have our eyes on this final round of
the Masters, and it was a rough start indeed for
Rory McElroy with the double bogie on the first hole.
He hit his drive on the second into the trap.
And so right now we are looking at a real
possibility on this second hole Bryce and de Shambo taking
the lead because he is in a position to birdy

(41:07):
of this sole and mclary right.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
Now with a long birdy party in this hole.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
And he is rolling in the sand, is straight downhill.
He's gonna have to have something fall, and that is
not falling. It is a nice putt, good leg butt,
but he's gonna walk away with a par. So we'll
see if you can somehow get it back on track here.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
VJ No. I mean they listen. I said he needs
a par on his hole. He doesn't need a birdy
on his hole. He needs a par on his hole.
Because when you come in as the leader on the
last day of Augusta with the lead to go win
this thing and you double bogie out the break a
part allows you to say okay, I'm back on your
back to go and then bogie that bad boy nah man.
And this Green's huge. That whole placement front right with

(41:48):
a huge slope at about forty feet wide that leads
right into a bunker. I don't mind where he put
the ball to Shamble put the ball in the same place,
but just further back with about one hundred foot put
and he's got to make now. But this is what
I talked about. When you start the show the grips
the vice man, it starts to tight. This is agusta.
This ain't even this that we just watched the players

(42:09):
at TPC Sawgrass right. This ain't even that. This is
this is this is Saint Andrews man. This is a gusta.
This is pebble beat. Certain courses, in certain tournaments. Man,
they just you think you got it. You think you
feel good. You think you woke up, you had your
protein bar, you had your Yeah, you called your family,
said hello to your wife and your kids, and you
had your your protein shaking your breakfast. And you're out

(42:29):
there and you're good on on the driving range and
you loose. You look good. You got your shirt and
your pants and your glove and your shoes and you're
fresh in the crowd. A lot of TV national it's
the last day and then it's on you.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
It just it all comes down to buts and the
two greatest clutch butters of all timer Nicholas and Woods.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
I mean they just you know. I mean when.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
Tiger rolled in that pot to force the playoff at
the two thousand and eight US Open at Torry Pynes.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
I mean you're like, ah, how could you even hold
the club? All right?

Speaker 2 (42:58):
So right now, right has got a makeable birdie putt
right now that would give him the outright lead at
eleven under. He's got that stiff arm, very unique style,
and that is in a nice So the Shambo has
taken a took two holes and he's got to erase a.

Speaker 1 (43:17):
Two shot deficit.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
And now Rice into Shambo has a one shot lead
over Rory McElroy. Ludwig Oberg and Corey Connors are at
seven and no one's making a run up the board
from below them, nobody.

Speaker 1 (43:30):
No one's making a penny putts right now. Well, you
like Oberg and I like Connors. I think Connor's listen,
three shots, four shots off the lead, right, but three's
one over the day, but three to get does that matter?

Speaker 6 (43:40):
What he is?

Speaker 1 (43:40):
Right now? It's about how the rest of his day
is gonna go three from the second place. Then that
gets you.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
I'm gonna say, right now, Oberg finishes ahead of Connors.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
All right, cool, let's take it. Let's take it.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
But you know me, I do not bet. Okay, I
don't bet. Well, we bet just a gentleman. We do
call the gentleman.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
So we do lunch. We can we have lunch. We
have Duke in All Bama. And we watched that. Yes, yeah,
we saw yeah, lunch bet easy man.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
All right, Okay, let's let's talk a little NFL for
a second here, and let's talk about what happened with
the New Orleans Saints. The word that Derek Carr could
be out for the Year's got that shoulder injury. By
the way, what were you expecting with Derek Carr? You know,
I mean even playing in that week division, what do
you eight? Nine, nine and eight at the best, even

(44:24):
with Derek Carr. But it does suddenly force him in
a situation to have to think about drafting a quarterback
because they don't have any money to sign a quarterback.
They got sixty eight million tied into Derek Carr, so
they can't go out and get an Aaron Rodgers, they
can't get a deal for Kirk Cousins. None of that's
going to happen for the Saints. So you're sitting at
the number nine pick. And this is where if you're

(44:46):
the Saints, you have to be careful. Now, if you're
one hundred percent convinced that giving up draft capital to
move up to get a Shador Sanders or a cam
Ward works for you, that you're one hundred percent convinced,
everybody in the.

Speaker 1 (45:01):
Room is convinced that is the guy.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
He is a franchise quarterback. We can build our future
around that guy. Fine, then you pull the trigger. But
if you have any doubt, you don't move. If one
should fall to you, great, If they don't, then you know,
wait another round. Maybe trade down if you're Jackson Dart,
you know Milrow, if you want to look at another quarterback,
or you could just say forget the quarterback situation. We'll

(45:25):
turn the page and we'll roll the dice in next season.
That is where teams have gotten themselves in trouble over
the years of VJA. When you look at your draft board,
they all have a big draft.

Speaker 9 (45:34):
Board, right, and here it's like everyone's like, wait, why
did the Packers draft Aaron Rodgers when they had Brett
Fhr Because they looked at their draft board and he
was sitting right at the top of their draft board, saying,
this guy is way above anybody else.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
We're gonna take him regardless if we need that position.
How that work out for them. So I'm not convinced
that the Saints are one hundred percent convinced that you
Door Sanders Uh is that quarterback. If he falls to
them at nine, absolutely they're gonna take him. And we
still have been talking to a lot of people saying
there is no noise about teams trying to move up

(46:07):
in this draft. So you know, the Saints have very
little relevance in the post Sean Payton Drew Brees era.
But it's gonna be interesting to see if they do
what I think is the right thing. Just stay at nine,
take the best player on the board. You're not a
quarterback away of winning the Super Bowl. Or if they
go panic mode and try to move up to get

(46:28):
that quarterback.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
Well, I told you guys that predicted this three weeks
a month ago that I told you a team that
could move up would be who who'd I say, what
the Saints, And here we are. I've been knocking on
the door with this pre draft stuff. Guys, I'm telling
you I'm locked into the draft this year. I'm locked in,
and I'm telling you, guys, some of the teams that
are gonna happen. I told I threw this. This is

(46:50):
the first team I threw out there. When you're like,
who's gonna move up? DJ the Saints? The Saints because
Derek Carr is not your future and you can't tell
me Spencer ral is not better than your door, sad
Or or Campward right now. So if you got a
chance to move up and use some draft capital, as
you mentioned in a week division, you're going to need
a quarterback. You can't throw quarterback to the side as oh,

(47:13):
we'll address it next year. Okay, you're just telling your
fans you'll be cool with seven and ten again, and
the fans aren't gonna want to hear that. Neither are
some of the players you're gonna eventually start to lose,
guys that are just gonna want to get the heck
out of Dodge, right, So this is a perfect storm
for them to move up. This is the perfect storm
for them to move up. If you believe that one

(47:36):
of these guys is your guy, you go get them.
You don't go get your guy, You don't not go
get the girl that you think could be the wife
that you've been looking for. You don't go not go
get the guy that you think could be the husband
you've been looking for. If you think that's the guy
the girl, you go get them when they already know.

Speaker 2 (47:54):
I mean, regardless of the Derek Carson, he's a thirty
four year old quarterback, lose if the if the Saints
were hell bent on getting let's just say Shadoor Sanders,
assuming that cam war goes number one overall to the Titans.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
Wouldn't we already know this right now? No, we wouldn't
we and have talked about the way the draft goes.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
What Cleveland gonna do this, Let's signed Joe flat I
told you.

Speaker 1 (48:16):
Guys what Cleveland's gonna do and what they should do.
Can you take it? Joe Flax? And they're going to
Hussell Watson. They're gonna and you notice Watson put out
a quote this week that I'm gonna use all this
to d I've been telling you guys going to draft Sanders.
I know, No, they won't because they'll they're because they're Cleveland.

(48:37):
That's why they're Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
Well Cleveland after a one and thirty one one they
drafted Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
Two years later they were in the playoff. Yeah, and
then and then what they do with that, they let
them get out of town. I mean that's therefore, what
thank you? They're Cleveland. That's the or I just said
they're Cleveland. So no, I don't expect them to do
the smart thing. Okay, but the Giants are they gonna
take a quarterback?

Speaker 6 (48:55):
Ah?

Speaker 1 (48:55):
Man? If if my point is you have to gauge
if you're the Saints, do we need to move off?

Speaker 2 (49:02):
Hold? No, No, you guys have if he gets past
the first three picks, if he's on the board at four,
he could easily be on the board at nine.

Speaker 6 (49:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
No, that's the way it's gonna take him. One of
these other teams they might I know, I've seen Ashton
Gentsy is the name to pop up a lot for
them because they want to get more physical in the
running game. But you got the kid out of Georgia,
so why would you go get But I do believe
Ashton gents should be off the board by the six pick.
I've been saying that since college football season. This ager
and I had this discussion all the time. Aston gents
should be off the board by six. But g m's

(49:31):
screwed us up all the time. They screwed the draft up,
or some knock it out the park and some screw
it up all the time. This idea that you'll wait
a year for more quarterbacks is ridiculous because you don't
know what's gonna happen next year. You have no idea
if you're gonna have your job next year. In pro sports,
the way we're seeing coaches getting fired in leagues right

(49:53):
before playoffs start, are getting fired in leagues after one
year with an NFL franchise. We saw a head coach
get fired last year. So you don't have time to
think about tomorrow. You need to worry about today. Tomorrow
will work. Get self out. As the good man upstairs
always says, you need to worry about today, and you
need a quarterback today. And if I'm the.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
Saints, I'm just saying it about next year's draft. By
the way, are you are you convinced arch man he's gonna.

Speaker 1 (50:17):
Be all that. I mean, we barely seen him. The
thing is the thing, and know the thing is I
like the kid. He's young. I think over time he
can be a serviceable NFL and really good quarterback. I'm
talking about it. Let me, let me, let me finish.
But if we're going to hold him to Peyton like
he could be Eli. But Eli's got two rings and

(50:38):
he's going to the Hall of Fame. He's gonna have
a gold jacket. You got people that argue that, but
it don't matter what we think. I don't got a
Hall of Fame vote, so that matter. What I think
is that it's the people that's got the vote that's
gonna let him. Manli is gonna be. Now that's not
to be right now, but before the man passed, he's
gonna be. He's gonna be in the Hall of Fame.
So you know, could can is his art's gonna be that.

(51:00):
You know, the juris that thing you have to always gauge.

Speaker 2 (51:04):
And of course that's a dangerous game because you don't
know what kind of season you're gonna have.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
You don't know what kind of season O. But you
don't wait, you don't know where your draft to it
you know. So that's why you don't wait. You don't wait.
But I know one quarterback.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
Now, if you move up, if you move up like
the Bears moved up, remember for Trubisky. If you move
up in the draft to get a quarterback, you better
make the right choice right or you're gonna be out
of a jail.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
You got to hit it out of the park. But
that's the point. But that's okay. But it's either move
up and take a risk or sit there and take
a risk of somebody else behind you moving up.

Speaker 6 (51:35):
I e.

Speaker 1 (51:35):
The Pittsburgh Steelers who need a quarterback. There's something that's
gonna happen in this first round, within the first ten
picks that's gonna make everybody goes. You know what, whether
what did that big vanilla do? What do you call himself?

Speaker 6 (51:46):
For fun?

Speaker 1 (51:46):
But that guy's been onto something because he's been saying
Pittsburgh's not gonna give up. They're at twenty one and
you know what they would have to give up to
move up to the three s. Why did the Chiefs
when they moved up for Patrick Mahomes? Where did you
he said? When they moved there? They were in the
twenties when they moved up for Patrick, but they didn't
have to move to three. They moved to ten. No,
you don't have to move to three if they don't. No, no, no,

(52:07):
you're missing what I'm saying. If the Saints don't move up, well, I'm.

Speaker 2 (52:09):
Talking about if you're targeting Shuder Sanders, you have maintained
Shador Sanders is going to be off the board by
fourth pick of the.

Speaker 1 (52:16):
Draft, fifth, fifth, another fifth. I know I've always had
I've always in the top five picks. No, no, no,
I said the top five picks. That's what I've always
The tape is out. I want to hear the two.
But at the end of the day, at the end
of the day, you miss what I'm saying about the Steelers.
The Stealers don't have to go up to three. The
Steelers can go up to five. The Stellers can go.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
Up in at twenty one and take Jackson Dart. If
Jackson Dart, Jackson Dart when if you go to YouTube
video of cam Ward and Shader Standers and Jackson Dart,
if you shure talking about sheer velocity on the football,
Jackson Dart.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
Plowskay, let me tell you something right now, Jackson Dart
might not get past sixteen. It was at sixteen he
carros on the Cardinals they're gonna have to make some
decisions with Kylu Murray, and.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
I'm looking at it. I think Jackson Dart is the
factor in this first round big time.

Speaker 1 (53:02):
I think we both win it best.

Speaker 2 (53:04):
When you watch this guy throw the football, it's like, wow,
Now that's only part of it. You gotta throw it accurately,
and obviously you've got to make quick decisions to be
an elite quarterback.

Speaker 1 (53:15):
In this league.

Speaker 6 (53:15):
All right.

Speaker 2 (53:16):
On the other side, we'll continue on here with this
big story out of college football and the Tennessee quarterback
who Well, it's a game changer.

Speaker 1 (53:24):
But are we getting the.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
Full story on Ia Malayava Ea malay Ava. There we go,

Speaker 1 (54:26):
While while we were gone, a flip of the board
in the.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
Masters as on the third hole, Rory McElroy rolled in
a birdie putt and Bryson de Shambeau bogeyed. So McElroy
now is at minus eleven to Shamba at minus ten
and Corey Connor's just bogied another hole, so come on six.

Speaker 1 (54:46):
He's two over on the day. Ludwig Oberg is at seven.

Speaker 2 (54:50):
How about Jason Day, back from obscurity, is sitting at
six hundred par He is tied for fourth right now
with Corey Connor's Scotti Schaffler just basically par golf today
he has made absolutely no move. So still two man race.
Let's see if we can get a third person in
the battle here for the final round.

Speaker 1 (55:08):
Somebody really really fast. Our great friend Bertie Fratto, my man,
I call him big money bag Burns. Yes, just sent
me a text. What did he saying? And he said,
least we forget what's up? Bernie? By the way, I
love you, brother, God bless happy Palm Sunday, he just said.
Just twenty months ago, at the US Open, Bryson and
Roy dude on Day four, Roy missed two short puts early,
while Bryson took advantage and concluded with the shambles epic

(55:32):
up and down for a clutch par and the title
deja vu all over again. I said as much Saturday night.
Will Roy blow a chance to become only the six
PGA player of all time to have the Grand Slam?
Question mark out? Well, I mean Bernie Frattle here Fox
Sports Radio just sent me that text. Well, Bernie, we

(55:52):
love you, know that.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
And by the way, I mean, we're so watching you know,
coming out to Bernie now at three and Mac was
given himself a very makeable not easy, but makeable Birdie
putt on the short or long part three, I mean
two twenty four?

Speaker 1 (56:07):
What are you hitting two twenty four and a part
three for me? Yeah? Off the team? What do you doing?
That is a driver? Thank you? There get a lot
of I love that nothing.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
I had the great opportunity nineteen ninety five. The PGA
Golf Championship was a So the nineteen ninety five PGA
Championship was at Riviera Country Club and they allowed members
of the media, people like me to play the course
about two months before the PGA Championship.

Speaker 1 (56:36):
Now I was playing.

Speaker 2 (56:36):
I was playing actually a lot of golf at the time, right,
So I'm ready for this opportunity. But the fourth hole
there is like a two hundred and twenty yard par three,
and I pulled out driver. I hit it right of
the hole, and then I chipped up and made the putt.

Speaker 1 (56:51):
I parted. I was like, I couldn't believe it. It
was like drive, only drive. These guys pull out with you.
Oh god, well he pulled out I'm thinking about it.
Roy pulled out a four. He pulls out a four
iron two thirty two or two twenty three. Part three,
that's a long Listen in southern California here in the valley,
and then Sino.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
That's a part four.

Speaker 1 (57:11):
Ain't no par three's out here. That's two twenty two
thirty nothing. But yeah for me, man, that's old title list.
Or Taylor would driver. I'm pulling off the bag all right.

Speaker 2 (57:18):
Right now, I'm Bryce and the shamba on the same hold,
just off the green. He's gonna have a long put
here to try to get his birdie, all right.

Speaker 6 (57:25):
Yah.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
Mala malay Ava quarterback Malayava. Yes, I've been working on
that name.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
I got it right on CD last month.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
J trying, Oh young Galley last you're testing the name
with us yesterday. I don't know why it is ouyonglalay
never a problem talking about lawa. Never a problem with
Ea Malayava. There's six syllables e a malay Ava. It's
actually it's actually tagavya loa. People say to his name

(57:54):
last name one, they say, takaba Looa is tag of via.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
Vio low no, no no, But that's not the way
he pronounced it. I agree with you. It looks like
that tongue of bailo. There's like an end that doesn't
exist right like right, I don't see where's the end.

Speaker 2 (58:07):
But then again, Mike Krazuski became Mike Krzyzewski and I'm
still trying to figure that one out anyway, But this
this whole story. So I'm listening to our dear friend
t J huschman Zada, who, by the way, coaches a
lot of these high school kids.

Speaker 1 (58:21):
So TJ knows these guys.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
Coach against each other this year, so yea, and you know,
so he he comes on with LeVar on their show
yesterday and right out of the box, you know, LeVar
wants to talk about this story that you know, like
the story was, the story we were being fed was
that he was a holdout, like we've never seen this before.
Like there college there a springball, and all of a sudden,
there they're quarterbacks not showing up because he's a holdout.

(58:45):
And again TJ just absolutely went berserkily he goes, you're
not getting the story. Here, here's the story. There's no holdout.
The fact is that he wants Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (58:56):
To come to the table.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
Carson Beck just got four million dollars to leave Georgia
to go to the U. You just led your team
into the college football playoff let's have a discussion, and
according to TJ. Whushman Zada, there was no discussion since
January three months ago. Tennessee was basically trying to make

(59:19):
this guy and then they had fans show up, you
know with you know it's you know, because his name
starts Iam and that says Iam and then they would
cross out the rest and you know, put some derogatory
term about him. So they're trying to make this kid
to be the bad guy here when the fact of
the matter was at least the gate. According to TJ.
Hushman Zada, the Tennessee never really intended to up the

(59:43):
anne or even have a sit down discussion with him
and his agent whoever, to talk about the compensation that
he should receive based on a season in which he
led Tennessee into the twelve school playoff to return a
Tennessee quarterback in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (59:58):
Yeah, now, this this story is just really also interesting
to me because once again I know the kid, know
his family, Bosco prep out here, everybody knows me. That's
how my calling career started, was calling Bosco games all
the way back to guys like DJ and some of
the other nflers that they have playing in the NFL
that's come through that football factory out Bello, Bellflower, California.

(01:00:18):
So it hurt me to see this story because I
think I want to say it was Sean Salisbury, but
there there was a There's a former NFL quarterback that's
done some TV over like the last ten fifteen years
that put out a tweet yesterday it says some similar
I'm not gonna quote verbatim, but if this is what
we're gonna do, then we should be able to They
should be able to cut these kids now. They should

(01:00:39):
be able to do this to these kids and do
this the kids. And that's why you got a guy
like TJ and DJ is my guy. We still course
out the Laker game chopped at one night for twenty
thirty minutes. That that's my dude. I coached against him
and Bucky Brooks this past fall in West Valley High
School football out here in California. So we are attached
to these kids and see these stories in the way
these kids are being made to look like the bad guy.

(01:01:00):
The kids never the bad guy. It's always the adult.
Because you're the adult. You know more, you know more,
you live more life to write this story like this,
and then now to start to see former players start
to attack this kid and start to attack this story
like they know what the hell they're talking about and
they have no idea. And when I saw that tweet
at about two o'clock this morning, it rub me wrong, Steve,

(01:01:21):
cause I'm okay, see this is what we're doing now.
Now we're gonna start attacking these kids. They never wanted
these kids to get no money like that. They wanted
to keep it a dirty business at all. Give it
to the NCAA and give it to the chances and
the ads and the programs and stuff, and the kids
getting nothing. Well, you're getting a free education. Okay, well, probabe,
don't even need that nowadays. Now I'm not telling the
kids not to go to college. Go to college, Obama,
Dad say go to college, But don't like that's the

(01:01:41):
only way to be successful in life and make and
make a good point about yourself, you know, like this
this idea that he's holding out. Come on, man, See
when you start to put terminology to things like that, Steve,
you're playing a dirty game because you who's talking about
it right now in national radio.

Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
Hard But here's the whole point when this leaks out
and the and the truth of the story will leak by.
By the way, while we are talking here, I'll go
with TJ. Roy McRoy. Just birdied another hole in Dishambo,
just bogy ah, just like that. Rory's got a three
shot lead, so he's starting He started the day with
the two shot lead. Two holes later, who's down a
shot two holes later he's stop three. Oh man, So

(01:02:21):
Rory now at twelve hundred Dshambo at nine under. Crazy
stuff going on in the message, hard to concentrate. But anyway,
here here's the thing. This kind of insurrection I'm gonna
call it gets back to everybody about the University of Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
If you start playing that pr.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Game where you're putting players in a bad light when
every year is a free agency frenzy pretty much, then
all of a sudden, those teams competing for the same
talent that Tennessee's looking at, say, do you really trust
these people? I mean, they're they're talking to good game
right now, but are you gonna trust them? This is

(01:02:59):
what I donate stand. When you sign a scholarship at
a university, it is a contract pretty much It's a contract,
been a contract. It's always been a contract. You are
signing a contract with that university. The penalty for breaking
that contract used to be you would have to sit
out a full year.

Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
If you dare say, well I.

Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
Want to I want to transfer to a school within
the same conference, you had to sit out two years.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Yep. There's a reason why transfers were so rare because
you would have to sit out a season because that's
in your contract. But now all of that's out the window.
I mean that was fair even back then. Though. You
can't tell me I got to sit out because I
want to leave here. If you're not treating your coaches
have to we'll sit out a year if they moved
through school. Absolutely not. But that's my example. Now you
always us as like a relationship. You break over with me,

(01:03:42):
you can't tell me I can't I can't date for
for six months. I'm gonna go do what I want
to do just because I don't. I don't date you
no more. I can't go out. Nah, man, we're not
playing that game, all right. So Chris, did I just
see what I saw? Roy McElroy after the back to
back Birds at least sit hard right right into the tree. Yes,
I mean this is going to be a rule.

Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
Two bogeys, two bogies, ford shambo. Bertie's for Rory And
now that's like that that cut there, this is don't
forget Rory's double bogie to start the day. Yeah, it's
been crazy. So that's that's the McElroy card right now,
double bogee, par birdie birdie to get the twelve underd shambo.

Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
He went par birdie bogey bogey, so he's won over
on the day.

Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
Sitting at nine hundred park, all right, let's find out
what is trending right now. And Manzi is getting ready
for the tip off of the big showdown between her Clippers,
her Clippers State Warriors.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
I'm nervous, are you?

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
I mean there's a lot of of course, Mazzi. You're
a cool You're you're a cool fan type.

Speaker 4 (01:04:49):
Of fan normally talk just because I'm not running around
like a chicken with my head cut off, doesn't he
I'm not nervous just because on the outside I keep
it cool.

Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Of course, it's fun.

Speaker 4 (01:04:58):
If you are not nervous for your team to be
playing in a game like this, then are you a
real fan?

Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
Listen. It's a huge game for the huge kid is
locked into the six. I'm ready to take out the
Nickelbokas in the first round. So I'm I'm comfortable to that.

Speaker 3 (01:05:13):
I wish you luck.

Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
I wish you comfortable.

Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
Did you claim they were going to be a six seed?

Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
Oh? Yes, I did.

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
I knew you said. I knew you had said something
I was.

Speaker 5 (01:05:24):
Not.

Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
I said, if they are a five seed, they'll win
a playoff series. But they're going to be a sixth
seed or highest. So I missed the five seed, but
I still think they could beat the Knicks. Oh, I'm
still gonna pick that.

Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
It's a six Histon's and six, this and six. You
heard it here.

Speaker 4 (01:05:36):
First, ladies and gentlemen, we'll check in on baseball scores,
because again, nobody cares about these Eastern Conference scores. Nothing
changes here, even though, hey, you got some high scoring
game games.

Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
It looks like the All Star Game for a lot
of these guys here.

Speaker 4 (01:05:50):
In baseball, though, the Giants, the hot San Francisco Damn
Giants have taken the lead from the Yankees. Young Hooley
has homered twice and has given the Giant the lead
five to three.

Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
In the Bronx. Top of the seventh inning, Blue Jays
on the scoreboard, but Oriel's still up four to three.

Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
Bottom of the sixth inning. The Braves are on the
scoreboard as well, but the Rais are still up four
to three. Bottom of the sixth The Royals have a
four to two leader for the Guardians bottom of the eighth,
Pirates scoreless or Reds are up four zero top of
the eighth inning, Nationals and Marlins word tied. Miami has
taken the lead four to three top of the seventh inning,

(01:06:26):
the Angels losing to the Astros after that three run
shown from Isaac Barredez three bottom of the fifth inning.

Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
In Houston, Trevor Story has.

Speaker 4 (01:06:35):
Put the Red Sox on the scoreboard with the two
RBI doubles, so they're up on the White.

Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Sox to zero.

Speaker 4 (01:06:40):
Top of the seventh inning. Twins I've extended their lead
over the Tigers.

Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
Three to one.

Speaker 4 (01:06:44):
Bottom of the sixth inning, and Wilson Contreras with the
two run shot for the Cardinals, so they're beating the
Phillies to zero bottom of the fifth inning and the Masters, Yes,
what is the current? Because on my screen there we
go McElroy through four holes, still at the top twelve
under overall, Bryson de Shambo through four holes, three shots back,

(01:07:04):
and Ludwig Oberg through five holes is now seven underd.

Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
Park by the way, he just birdied the sixth hole
to get to eight hunder. I told you Olberg Oberg
by the way, and that's what is that, lunch?

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
What is that I have the Did we not have
the gentleman's vet that Olberg would finish headed Corey Connors?

Speaker 3 (01:07:22):
Yeah, you did?

Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
Okay, that's that's on. I don't mean I don't want
to look at Olberg right there.

Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
I said before last time, I was saying, if there
was a guy to watch out for, it's Ludwig Oldberg.

Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
That's right right now he is only one shot back
at the Shambo and solo. Come on, Connors, help me out.
I don't want to sit next to this for the
next hour to half man. Look back.

Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
It's all right, well right now you're watching. This is
where Roy McElroy has got to be careful. He really
doesn't have a playable shot. I mean, he doesn't have
any sightline. He just has to he just has to
get it out in the fair way. What's going on here,
shay fellow Shae, Oh you're not talking to me?

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
Yeah, don't jump in and they tell us about that's
I was there. I wasn't on the air. Okay, we're
doing play by play, that's all I'm gonna say.

Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
Oh, okay, Well, I'm just I'm just saying right now,
he's gotta he's gotta be careful here.

Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
Because, uh, he got a bush in front of you.

Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
What are you doing on the shut right here, you
mister golf.

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Uh, this is the part. This is not enough for me.
Look this tree that's in front of him. To me,
I'm punching it through. I'm swinging as hard as I
can't push it through because there's enough room for a rollout.
I'm not trying to make a miraculous shot here. Get
it back on the fairway, VJ. Take a breath, take
us up of water, and then and then pull out

(01:08:37):
maybe uh after that from there, maybe a three or
four and then and go from there.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
All right, Getting back to this story about malay Ava
Uh and the situation in the University of Tennessee, and
of course now he is in the transfer portal. Of
course he would have liked to have known that back
in January, so he could have maybe, uh, I gotta
jump start because you know, again, a lot of these
universities in the midst of spring ball right now puts
him at a bit of a disadvantage. He'll get his

(01:09:03):
money from somebody. Somebody is gonna go out there and
lay it out. In fact, I have Shay over here
dreaming that he is going to be an Arizona State
sun devil.

Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
Is that your dream?

Speaker 8 (01:09:13):
I mean, we already have a pretty good quarterback, so
it's not a dream.

Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
But hey, the more the merrier, why not. Right, he
got the money. I got the money, exactly, We got
the money. He's gonna land somewhere, Big, He's not. It's
not gonna be Alex Orgy leaving Michigan to go to
U N l V. You know what I'm saying. Like,
it's not gonna be that. He's gonna land somewhere. He's
gonna land somewhere.

Speaker 6 (01:09:33):
Big.

Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
You threw, you threw your boys out there, you threw
your well. But you see, he's got to come up
with the money. I just don't think that they're gonna
pay that kind of money. I don't know what kind
of money's gonna be spend. That's why Nick Saban decided
to retire. Like he's like, I don't want to get
it caught up in this.

Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
You think that's why Nick a little bit. Nick Saban
retired because the playing field got even. He couldn't have
the biggest pockets, the deepest pockets pay auto players, which
was already happening when they pulled off the floor.

Speaker 2 (01:10:04):
Yeah now, oh now I'm bow When they pulled off
the miracle against George, against the George and the SEC championship.
On that fourth down pass by Melroe to win the
SEC champion he knew that was it. I mean, and
they played obviously Michigan tough, came up a bit short, but.

Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
They know he was done. He goes, I don't want
to play.

Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
I don't have to play a game where literally every
single year, I have to redo my entire roster. You know,
I got half the players entering the portal when they're leaving,
then I got to look at everybody else's transferred portal
and bringing in a new team every year.

Speaker 1 (01:10:34):
I'm too old for that. Let me actually wait, too old.
Let me ask you this, wouldn't that make it more fun?

Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
If if can we get a better system than this.
Though I'm not saying players shouldn't get paid. That's fine,
no problem about that. I also don't have a problem.
But there's got to be some kind of better organization
to make it fair, not just for the universities but
for the players.

Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
Everybody knows that's out there. What you would do, what
I would do is I would do concent one year
contract is a two year contract. Third year is school option,
player option, right, like you decide whether there's gonna be
a school option. I like that option. You can't leave
after one year, so at least for twenty four months,
I got you. I love that it got me, and
after year two we can reovout. Every day. If I'm
a coach at today's game, this is exciting to me. Yeah,

(01:11:19):
you say, yeah, I have to rewrite my home. No
you don't. But you know what you could go get
if you don't have this year A big time receiver.
You know what you could go get if you didn't
have this past year. A dominant defensive tackle. You know
what you can go get if you didn't have this
past year, a shutdown corner, something that kept you from
winning that game, that kept your season from being what
you wanted it to be. You can now go get
one of those kids.

Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
I used to love this about college baseball. And yes,
obviously baseball not on the same level as basketball and football.
But you could get drafted out of high school, but
then you weren't eligible to get drafted again until your
junior year of college exactly, and then if you want
to come back, you can be drafted again.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
Your senior year. I love that idea of a two
year your commitment.

Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
See that makes sense for yours, so at least it
gives you some kind of stability to try to build
the core of your football program, saying all right, well,
we know we got this guy for two years. In
other words, we have this position filled for two years.
That gives us flexibility to look at other positions. And
then it's sort of a staggered situation.

Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Based on the two years, you can do some higher
use the term higher for gun early as you're like
Caleb Downs did that makes sense right? He didn't feel
like a higher for gun type of player with you.
He was at Alabama, Saban Leeds, Ohio State. Poni's up
the money and we go, okay, you know what needs
you to do do exactly for one year what we
watched you do at Alabama. Just just be a Troy
Polamalu and Reed type of college safety and just disrupt stuff.

(01:12:45):
And that's what we need from you. You're hired for.
We know you're not a true Buckey. You didn't grow
up ticket you were gonna play for a higher steak
or you would have picked us over Obama and you didn't.
That's fine, but now you're here that that would excite
me as a coach. Is this going on in high school? Steve?
Out here in the West Valley? These we got two
kids over from Birmingham last year. We took them from
al Camino. We did. We took their two best players.

(01:13:06):
They came to play for Barbaham.

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
How much do you think arch Manning has made to
stay at Texas and sit.

Speaker 1 (01:13:12):
On the bench for two years? It lays easy, that's
the listen. If they showed him anything lower, I'm pretty
sure he looked at it and leaned back and crossed
his legs and interlocked his fingers and say, sir, that's
not even that's not even enough to start talking to
me and sit on the bench for two years they
said he put five million in front of him. Five million.
Think about that, Noble Steve, he can literally lean back

(01:13:33):
and look at them and say, gentlemen, that's not even
a starting point. Wow, all right, ten million easily, yeah, easily.

Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
I've heard the kind of money Caleb Williams got to
leave Oklahoma for USC.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
I heard was around two years ten million. And guess
what we didn't hear about all the money in pars.
A lot of that that stays under the table. All right.
Coming after the other side, we'll get back to the
NFL Draft, which is coming up. Any kind of changes,
any kind of movement happening right now with the Draft
a little more than a week away, we'll break it
down for you. This is Fox Sports Sunday, Steve Harbin

(01:14:08):
and VJ. Husky Fox Sports Sunday. We are live from
the Tyraq dot Com studios.

Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
Hey, make sure to check out Fox Sports Radio's YouTube
channel a ton of great videos from many of our
Fox Sports Radio shows.

Speaker 1 (01:14:20):
Just search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
You'll see a whole bunch of video highlights from our shows.
And be sure to subscribe so you're always having instant
access to our Fox Sports Radio videos On YouTube.

Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
All right, so both of you. Steve, I do not,
but I'm I'm there's a lot of me on YouTube.
Let's put it out, okay, right, I.

Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
Mean there's a lot of things I've done over the
years that have popped up on YouTube over the years.

Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
Actually, Moncey and I had a big YouTube, did we not, Moncy?
That was when Browny was making his debut and we
were making some comments and it went viral. I saw,
I saw that. What did those dudes get up to
on that video? Eventually?

Speaker 2 (01:15:02):
I don't know, it was like instantly one hundred thousands,
because the last I saw it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
Was like seventy five eighty k.

Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
I was like, oh, I have no idea. Didn't even
look at it.

Speaker 4 (01:15:12):
When he told me, I said cool, yeah, exactly, said cool, Yeah,
good job us smart.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
Yeah, there you go. I feel you, Mama, I feel you,
all right. So yeah, McElroy and de Shambo both parred
the fifth hole. So they have moved on.

Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
So somehow McElroy got out of that message driving into recovery.
Unbelievable for where he was sitting behind a bush. That
game has just not been on either. He's had a
couple of long puns that he's just he could have
easily birdied that hole, and it was just yeah, well
Justin Rose just birdie to hold to get to seven hunderds.
So he's in sole fourth place right now at seven

(01:15:48):
under Oberg is at eight, to Shamba at nine, and
Roy is at twelve. All right, getting back to the
NFL Draft, it is hard to believe. And I can't
wait for the big show with everybody. I'll be listening
on that NFL Draft Sunday.

Speaker 6 (01:16:03):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
It's it's so interesting again when we go back. I
was listening to I can't remember who it was. It
was talking about drafts in the past. I think I
have to look up this draft. But when again, when
we talk about every team has a draft board, okay,
and you have to essentially trust your draft board. And

(01:16:24):
this is why you're paying professionals, you know, to scout
players and do their evaluation. Who's the right fifthes's that
and everything else. And I'm reminded again, I'm going to
go back to this draft. So this was, oh, here
it is.

Speaker 1 (01:16:41):
So this was the twenty eleven draft.

Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
This is the one where Cam Newton went number one overall,
and all of a sudden at number eight the Titans
and number ten the Jaguars took flyers on two very
questionable quarterbacks coming out of college. Jake Locker out of
Washington who won eighth overall to the Titans, and the

(01:17:04):
Jaguars took Blaine Gabbert out of Missouri.

Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
Who do they pass on?

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
Well, the Houston Texas at number eleven took JJ Watt.
And this is why I'm saying, you can't just totally
focus on quarterback if you are absolutely not convinced that
that quarterback is that level of quarterback. And with all
due respect, if cam Ward or Shardoor Sanders is in
the right system, you know, and gets the right coaching,

(01:17:33):
and there's just so many factors of becoming a successive
quarterback in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
Who knows.

Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
Maybe they'll be Hall of Fame quarterbacks someday. I hope
for their sake they are, but more likely than not,
based on history, they're not. It's questionable either one of
these guys would be a franchise quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
Yes, you've been beating both these guys down, so I
haven't heard you say anything good. I beat them down
because of history, beats them down. I'm not questioning their talent. Actually,
whether or not you go to the Tennessee Titans is
gonna make cam Warden it's going to be a super
Bowl winning quarterback. Hold up, well we didn't. But we
didn't know that when Eli Manner went to the Giants.
We didn't know that when Philip Rivers went to If
Philip Rivers never got to a super Bowl and won

(01:18:13):
the Super Bowl, excuse me, but what they were were
competitive and they were contenders just about every damn year.
When Drew Brees was there, right, they sent him to
Miami Fellas, the physical didn't go to all these cases
you're talking about was the right. Let's like, coach, you
can always find a draft and point I go, oh
look at this year, Oh look at this year. How

(01:18:33):
about the draft? How about the years were five teams
now their quarterback pick? How about we tell just both
sides of the story. I'm getting this idea that and
I'm surprised they hear this from you, this idea that
you're shunning away from the quarterback when we all know,
damn well, if you don't have a quarterback from Pop
Warner all the way to the NFL, you have no shot.

(01:18:56):
You got no shot to so to say the position
that you must need, We're gonna wait till next year.
But you got to wait for the right guy.

Speaker 2 (01:19:06):
Because if you use a first round pick, a high
first round pick, top half of the first round pick
on a quarterback who is a bust, that will set
you back for years. If you could have gotten maybe
a lineman or another player who could have given you
five ten years of stability, and then you look the
next time for that quarterback, you will be in a

(01:19:28):
much better position.

Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
You can't keep riching for quarterbacks. But it's not a
reach if you feel like that's your guy. That's what
I've been saying. If you but you better be right. Yeah,
of course you better be right. But we can say
that about any team, any year, any round, doing any draft.
Why the hell are we beating up cam Ward? It
should door Sanders so damn bad. Like all the rest

(01:19:52):
of these guys are so head and beyond heads, above
and beyond. I'm just going by what who guys are.

Speaker 2 (01:19:57):
The guys that do the scouting, The guys do the
work that you know evaluate players do not put them
on the same level of quarterbacks we've seen in recent drafts.
I wonder what are some of the quarterbacks we see
next year's draft. Much more coming up here on Fox
Sports Sunday. Oh yes, it is quite a day in
the world of sports, and we're covering every bit of

(01:20:19):
it here Fox Sports Sunday. We're broadcasting live from the
ti iraq dot com studios, tierrat dot com. We're gonna
get you there and on Matt's selection, fast free shipping,
free road acid protection, over ten thousand recommended installers, ti
iraq dot com The Way Tire Buying should be coming
up here in about twenty minutes. We're gonna check in
with our Fox Sports Radio MLB analyst, the Great John

(01:20:40):
Paul Morosi JP is going to be joining us. By
the way, there was a significance coming out of what
was it Central Michigan.

Speaker 1 (01:20:48):
Yes, what happened here? Central Michigan won there, I believe,
first ever Western Michigan Western, Western Michigan Western. I'm sorry
to Broncos. Yes, out to Kalamazoo yep. I shot out
to my girl Brandy Washington out in New York. She
used to go to Michigan Western before she transferred to
Howard and she and she's born and raised in callum

(01:21:09):
Zoo Michigan. But yeah, they frozen four man spank Boston.

Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
You around and captured a frozen four first NCAA championship
men or women.

Speaker 1 (01:21:20):
Yep, and uh perfect came in here and showed the
picture of two old people and said, you know, picture trivia.
I took one look at it, but less than a second.

Speaker 8 (01:21:32):
Probably.

Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
Yeah, pretty FAST's pretty It's like Superman. It's pretty fast
John Saunders. And the reason why is because I love
the guy. I told you guys this sports.

Speaker 2 (01:21:38):
Report, John Saunders, who played at Western Michigan hockey. It
was funny too because he and his brother, the late
great John Saunders. You know, his face was identical, right,
he just had the big fro going on when he
was in college.

Speaker 6 (01:21:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:21:50):
I love that. Yeah, don't try to downplay my mind
me knowing him so fast man anyway, But do you
know johns listen, When I was in Connecticut, does the
storm get to? When I was in again, I was
doing my TV show Vj's on Sports with La Kanda
on Nutmeg TV in Farmington, which is local access television.
Was my first TV show, created it, produced it, and
was the host of it. The whole nme John Saunders

(01:22:12):
and Dan Patrick at that point told me the advice
they gave me at the party one and they said,
keep going, you're gonna be fine. We listened to your clips.
They said, it's gonna take you longer to get where
you're trying to go because I didn't have the journalism,
mass communications, you know, school behind me to walk it through.
I went to Michigan or the Syracuse sar here and
and school of Amberg and usc ths. He goes back,

(01:22:35):
why are you ignoring you? He looked right, guy, and
I didn't know that they still did that over there.
I thought it was more of a music school. I didn't.
I didn't even know they still cared about.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Actually we didn't. We didn't even have a journalism department.
We did have a great newspaper that.

Speaker 1 (01:22:50):
Was a long time ago, even you, But he did.
John Saunders looked at me and he said, you're gonna
be good at this. I listened to your clip. He goes,
but just keep going. They're gonna tell you no a
lot because you don't have the paperwork behind. I looked
him in his face. I said, I simply watched sports
reporters because of you, sir, and it was my favorite show.
Great show.

Speaker 6 (01:23:08):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
I used to love sports reporters with Bob Ryan and
those those old guy Uh how you saying lu lupaca
to New York guy. I used to love sports. So
John Saunders shout out to him and shout out the
Western congratulations and being and being a predominant strong hockey
program on the college race that has multiple national championships

(01:23:29):
in Boston, Utah win the Frozen Four and captured their
first ever But yeah, John Saunders, uh Ri Ip Tom
a great alumnus from the school, played hockey there.

Speaker 2 (01:23:36):
Too past, too soon, that is for sure. We're watching
the seventh hole right now at the Masters. Roy McElroy
and Bryce and the shall.

Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
Oh my, what a shot by.

Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
Rory McElroy just hit a absolutely miraculous second shot.

Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
He has had some tremendous second shots. This shot is
one of those. If he.

Speaker 2 (01:24:01):
You notice, did you notice off the t's De'shambo's ball
is in the bunker. Wow, even even McRoy is laughing.
He just absolutely between the pines.

Speaker 1 (01:24:12):
Did you see where? Did you see?

Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
It's between the trees. Had to hit between trees. He
hit it as hard as he could and this ball
lands like pin high.

Speaker 1 (01:24:24):
That's luck man, because they didn't touch one leaf between
two trees. You can't even see through that. That thing
just shot through there.

Speaker 2 (01:24:32):
Well, this this could turn out to be a McElroy route.
If he gets another hit, two shots swing towards this hole, story.

Speaker 1 (01:24:40):
Of this might be the like again, the wounds that
Deshambo is taking.

Speaker 2 (01:24:46):
His long putting is not on and that again that
last shots in the bunker, he's gotta be look at
he's playing catchup.

Speaker 1 (01:24:53):
Wow, this is that's a great point for fan. My
question was gonna be. Now, I'm not trying to I'm
not trying to take the sign off of Rory, but
let's just be let's just be real about it. If
Rory's on fire, like two things are happening at once. Yeah, yeah,
I know that. I know it's a popular thing to say,
but that's not where I want to go with this one.
If Roy holds on and wins this thing, right, you know,

(01:25:14):
I have four or five strokes. Did he win it? Yes?
Or did right?

Speaker 4 (01:25:18):
Or did not?

Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
He said throw up and wet himself. They will replay that.
If he wins this, they'll be replaying this shot over
and over and over right.

Speaker 1 (01:25:25):
I'm just I mean the replay on that is Bryson's
not you know, he's not forcing him to do much.
He's Roy right now. The way it's gone so far, right,
we're a whole seven, got a lot of golf to play.

Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
Rory also hit under six the last two rounds as well.
But I feel just like it feels like Rory just
stayed a course. Bro just don't just like, I guarantee it,
and you're gonna win this thing. By if he wins it,
they're gonna say best thing it could have happened was
that double bogey in the first It's like that wake
up call.

Speaker 1 (01:25:55):
Let's get that show talking about that in here.

Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
It almost feels like without the pressure on him off
the start, he's like played a lot better. Yeah all right,
so again right now, nice shot out of the bunk,
A great shot out of the bumper by rising to
shambo to get himself in that position right now. So
it's a battle that we're going to continue to monitor
for you out here. Final round of this year's Masters.

(01:26:21):
Also right now we're watching this Clippers Golden State game clearer,
So the two point lead, and you know we're talking
earlier about the Clippers and having to avoid the playing
tournament because of the uncertain nature of the health of
a certain Kawhi Leonard. What about the Golden State Warriors.
I mean, here's the thing about both these teams. Since

(01:26:42):
the Jimmy Butler deal. The Warriors have been playing their
best basketball since Kawhi has been healthy down the stretch.
Clippers are playing their best basketball. These are two teams
you don't want to match up against in the first
round of the playoffs. But who do you think is
hurt more VJ dropping into the playing tournament? Would it
be the Clippers or would it be the Warriors?

Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
To me, it would be the Clippers because I'm not
in the stands that you guys they want to see Houston.
Houston's nothing to play around with, guys. This is a
defensive team. And I've said time and time again, defense
travels in the postseason. In the postseason, excuse me, defense

(01:27:21):
travels in the postseason. Okay, And then when you could defend,
you could be in any game Knights that you don't score. Well,
if you're defending, you can keep that thing close. Offense
has got to come along at some point, but you
just don't want to have to start the playoffs on
the road. You would much rather before or higher and
starting your own bed, eating food from your private cheferd home,

(01:27:43):
or having your wife make your breakfast for you, pack
your lunch away somewhere, your pre meal when you're going
off to the stadium. That you much rather that be
it the leaving a hotel room, eating breakfast in the
conference room, getting on the big ass bus driving through
a city going to there. It's a different field, so
you want that. And if you can't get that, then
this idea that well, if they're in the seven seed,
they'll play. You much rather have the why the Rockets

(01:28:05):
won over fifty some games and that the Rockets have
had a great year and they're gonna defend and they
got a head coach that Noah dislike to get to
the finals, that know what, dislikes to be like the guys,
a Popovich predecessor, like the guy the guys comes off
the Papavi his tree. This guy's got NBA people forget
what man Doku has NBA Championshi rings, ladies and gentlemen,
boys and girls. He's got rings on his finger already.
He's won championships and he's pouring into his team. He

(01:28:28):
took this team over. They were left for dead. The
Houston Rockets were left for dead. They were nobody and nothing.
They're in the second We talk about the Western Conference
being the best conference right now in the in the NBA.
Who's the second seed in the Western Conference. It is
the Houston Rockets. So I much rather would put more
trust in Golden State at the seven to play Houston.
But if the Clippers play Houston as the seven, just

(01:28:50):
this game's not over twenty five to twenty five and
minutes something left in the first quarter stretch. If Houston
has to play the Houston Rockets, they're going home in
the first round. They will not beat the Houston Rockets
in the seven games seton. I'm not so sure about this.

Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
Look, the Denver Nuggets are the biggest question mark going
into the playoffs in the West, absolutely, because they're a
redularship right now. You don't have a coach. I mean,
you know, they're trying to piece this thing together. Jamal
Murray finally got back into the lineup.

Speaker 1 (01:29:17):
Obviously, I think he's the question mark. He wants the
question obviously that Jamal Murray.

Speaker 2 (01:29:21):
But Jamal Murray is one of those players that is
just a much better postseason player than he is in
the regular Sea's never made an All Star team, He's
never been on an All NBA team. Then he shows
up in the playoffs. You know, like, how does this
guy not made any All Star teams? He is a
big time player. And by the way, right now, the
Nuggets are blowing out the Rockets. Rockets are sitting everybody today,
which means that the Nuggets will get the.

Speaker 1 (01:29:43):
Four seed pretty much there, So the Nuggets will get
the four seeds.

Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
So again, that means the winner of the game between
the Warriors and the Clippers will play the Nuggets. The
loser will play the Rockets, assuming that they can beat
Memphis at home, either one of these teams in the
playing round. That's how this all worked.

Speaker 1 (01:30:01):
And so again again State's locked in at the six.
They're gonna play the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (01:30:06):
I don't know what we're gonna get from the Nuggets,
That's what I'm saying. I mean, the Nuggets a team
just two years removed from winning the championship in a
dominant fashion. Uh and then last year, the inexplicable hiccup
going down Game seven against Minnesota the way they did. No,
you know, no malonea coaching your team. Jokic had an

(01:30:28):
MVP caliber season.

Speaker 1 (01:30:30):
Joker can carry him to the Western Conference finals. He
that guy's that damn good. And they got some other roles.
They got some other must haves on that squad. So
let's not pool pool Gordon and pool pool Porter Junior.
He obviously, let's not throw these guys away like they're
not averaging, you know, combined to over twenty five pounds.

Speaker 2 (01:30:47):
Take a couple of guys that are you know, obviously
Westbrook has hit you know, hit and miss coming off
the bench.

Speaker 6 (01:30:52):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
And the guy's become a valuable piece off the bench
is Peyton Watson. Yeah, oh you want and La Yeah, so.

Speaker 1 (01:30:59):
I I again, if I'll tell you what if I
were And again, this is not a knock on the Rockets,
but this is a Nuggets team that's got championship head agree.

Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
They were just there two years ago hoisting the O'Brien trophy.

Speaker 1 (01:31:13):
You sat there, So you think the Nuggets, even being I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
Saying, the loser of this game between the Warriors and
the Clippers could be in better shape in the playoffs
than the winner of this game, and right now the
Warriors have taken a five shot lead, could be six,
all right. Much more on that, much more on what's
going on as far as the Masters a concern. Again,
both Rory and de Shambo hard the seventh toll, so

(01:31:40):
Rory still has a three shot lead over Bryceon We're
gonna check in with John Paul Morosei the latest on

this final round of the Masters. Right now joining us.
And by the way, he's really gonna wear dual hats.

(01:32:54):
Coming up here shortly, vjy because Stanley Cup playoffs aren't
far away, and I love the coup playoffice. JP is
not only our Fox Sports Radio MLB Anals, he's also
our mister NHL. I understand, JP, you're leaving a hockey
game right now, is that correct?

Speaker 6 (01:33:12):
I am Steven VJ. Good afternoon. First of all, what
a great sports day this. I am sitting outside the
Prudential Center right now, Newark, New Jersey, broadcasting live. I
was here for the Devils and Islanders, and tomorrow we've
got the Yankees and Royals on MLB Network. So I said,

(01:33:32):
to celebrate this amazing time of year, I got to
make sure I get in a great NHL game with
the playoff bound Devils today and then the Yankees Royals
tomorrow on MLB Network. And this is what you call
a great start of the week.

Speaker 2 (01:33:46):
And by the way, VJ and I and Chris, we're
talking about Western Michigan, Yes, NCAA championship ever taking home
the hockey title, my.

Speaker 6 (01:34:00):
Mom's alma mater. How about that?

Speaker 8 (01:34:03):
Wow?

Speaker 6 (01:34:03):
Hampton Slewkinski backstopping the Broncos. Hampton from war Road, Minnesota,
Hockey Town, USA.

Speaker 1 (01:34:11):
It's known.

Speaker 6 (01:34:12):
And this is to pull back a little bit. One
of the reasons why I love college hockey is that
was in the last ten fifteen years we've had national
championships from Union College in Schenectady, New York, from Yale
University in New Haven, and now Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
I have said many times college hockey is just big

(01:34:34):
enough and just small enough to be so rewarding to follow.
And this is this weekend the greatest triumph in the
history of Western Michigan University athletics. They will change that
institution forever. And it really just proves that you've got
a great coach of Pat Firschweiler, amazing talents committed to

(01:34:56):
the program there over the last several years because of
the hard work that Pat has done, and it is
amazing to see what the Broncos are doing now on
the national scene.

Speaker 1 (01:35:05):
My man, mister JP, how you doing, Brother VJ verne Hut?

Speaker 6 (01:35:09):
I am out said, and you know you don't even
have to ask today how Mama Morosi is doing. My
mom is thrilled, she is She is just on clouds
because their Broncos are the champions of the na A.

Speaker 1 (01:35:19):
Noah, no doubt. I was telling these guys, I was like, yeah,
we have JP on. Later his mom went there, so
you know, Mama uh uh, Mama prosi and Morosi is
doing is doing well and having fun. Man, let's talk
some baseball. This past week, I'm watching the league kind
of I'm watching a bunch of teams go six and four,
five and five. The Yankees have kind of fallen, not
falling off, but you know they they're they're taking some lumps.

(01:35:41):
The Dodgers are kind of taking some lump. My beautiful
Rangers jump out the eight and three, and then we
go up to an under five hundred Seattle team that's
been giving us hell over the last three years. I
admit that, but it just feels like I guess this
is a silly question, but I guess I must question that.
I have to ask, is there anything to take from
this artis it's just still way too early. If there

(01:36:01):
is something to take from what's happening to those three
teams I mentioned, what would it be in your opinion?

Speaker 6 (01:36:05):
Yeah, no, it's a great question. I think we're still
seeing You're right, it is early here we are in
the middle of April. I think it proves that no
matter how great we think a particular team is, and
I think a lot of us believe the Dodgers had
a chance to be historically great this year, and they
still do. By the way, They're eleven and five, still
up to a pretty strong start, even though they lost yesterday,

(01:36:27):
even though they are five and five in their last ten,
right but they are third as we speak right now
in the National League West. The Giants won a game
today against the Yankees, and you're pointing out that some
of the Yankees struggles a little bit up and down
against their five and five in their last ten the
league overall, And this is I think a key point

(01:36:50):
if you were someone that was hoping that the first
couple weeks of the season, first three weeks of the
year would prove your thesis that the economics foundation of
the game is irreparably broken and you have to totally
reformulate it for anybody to have a chance to win.
Who's not the Dodgers of the Yankees. This has all

(01:37:11):
been disproven, at least so far, because it's a very
balanced start to the year. The first place teams in
the American League East are eight and seven. The first
place team in the ALES Central the Tigers, they're nine
to five. As you mentioned, the Rangers they're nine and
six and second place behind the Angels, who are a
surprise right now. So there are surprising teams that have

(01:37:33):
moved up towards the top. And it's not all about
the Dodgers and the Yankees. And that VJ for me
is evidence of a healthy sport, not an unhealthy sport.

Speaker 1 (01:37:44):
You mentioned the Angels.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
I mean, they've played eleven of their first fourteen games
on the road and they are sitting in first place
right now. And Ron Washington, I just love ram my god,
my god. He guided the Rangers to back to back
World Series appearances. But you know you're curious about hiring

(01:38:06):
someone that now is you know about to celebrate his
seventy third birthday or the Angels. Does he seem like
the right fit. I love his demeanor. Uh, obviously, it's
it's nice to have Mike Trout back in line. It's
not hitting for average, but he is hitting for power
right now. But nobody could have predicted the Angels, especially
with a start of the season so loaded with road games,

(01:38:28):
getting off to this kind of start. How much how
much of that has to do with Ron Washington?

Speaker 6 (01:38:33):
I think a lot and one thing I love about
Wash and this is a very important distinction and a
very important word in baseball. He is the manager, but
he has not stopped being a coach. In baseball, of
course we call the managers, but Wash is at his
essence a teacher. I'm gonna tell you a funny story

(01:38:55):
about Wash. I was this isn't Detroit, probably ten maybe
twelve years ago. I was in Detroit for a day
game and Washington was there. I think it was when
he was coaching with Oakland. Maybe it was like eight
years ago, so it was after he was in Texas.
He's now coached with the A's, and I was asking
him about his philosophy and how he feels the groundball,

(01:39:16):
how he teaches the groundball, how he teaches in fielders
to approach a groundball, And after I asked him probably
two or three questions, he just said, John, put your
books down, pick up this glove. I'm gonna teach you.
And so I'm sitting there, guys, I was not a
very good infield in my day quote unquote in my
high school career, which I'm putting air quotes right now,
and here I am, guys on a major league field

(01:39:40):
getting an absolute tutorial with my you know, dress shoes
and dressed pants on from Ron Washington at about noon
before one o'clock game at Comerica Park and Detroit. That
happened and ever since the Washington and I have laughed
about it. But that just tells you. You want to
know how many other Major league managers have told this
olden reporter to put his stuff down if he wants
to teach me. Something doesn't happen very often, and that

(01:40:03):
just tells you about how much he loves to teach.
And you even heard it last year. There were times
when he was frustrated with some of the fundamental skill
of his team and he would tell people about Listen,
we got to do the simple things better, and he's
got a team out doing the small things very well.
He's got a healthy trout. Hore Solaire isitting for power

(01:40:24):
Paris has come in and had a really nice im back.
He's playing second base today. I've always been a big
fan of Luis Renhifo. I think he's got still a
lot more to give as a young player in the game,
and I think through the pitching has gotten better. So
he's a manager who hasn't stopped coaching, and that's the
reason why the Otani less Angels are leading the American

(01:40:45):
League West.

Speaker 1 (01:40:46):
Yeah, that's absolutely true. That's perfectly said Ron watching This
is my guy, me being a Ranger fan. I remember too,
he took us to Fox Sports Sunday with Hartman and
Husky right now for Fox Sports Radio and Los Angles
JP Molrosi Fox Sports Radio MLB analyst on with us
right now. I would be you know, not me and myself.
Iyan throw your Ranger question. Why Langford two forty four

(01:41:09):
leads the Rangers home runs in four three thirty three?
OBP How good can this kid be?

Speaker 6 (01:41:17):
Well, he's got special talent, and there were those that
said that he was the best position player in the
year that he was drafted. Of course, Paul Skins we know,
we know what Paul Skeins is, maybe maybe the best
pitcher in the world with how good Paul is right now.
But but Langford was regarded by many scouts as being

(01:41:38):
the best bat and I think that his career for
me VJ will be determined by what sort of defensive
profile he can work his way to his team. Is
he is he does he end up being more of
a DH I always am reluctant to say that about
a young player who's still in his twenties, because the

(01:42:00):
positional element of what you do can still be learned.
He is still, I believe, a talented athlete who's got
the potential to be a defender on an everyday basis.
But I think that's the question I've got. Can he
be an above average defender? What does as athleticism look like?
Because I don't want him to be pigeonholed too much
into being a bat only. He's definitely a bat first,

(01:42:24):
but I don't want him to be a bat only.
And that's the question I've got for him as his
career goes forward, and the value that he's going to
have to the Texas Rangers.

Speaker 1 (01:42:33):
Interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
All right, well, JPT, what I know, you're going to
settle in to watch a little master's golf over the
course of the day final day of the NBA regular season,
NBA playoffs around the corner, and a CEL playoffs around
the corner. And it doesn't matter because the biggest story
is Western Michigan out of calibrizo A top the hockey
world winning the first ever NCAA championship.

Speaker 1 (01:42:55):
All the best to your mom.

Speaker 2 (01:42:56):
Congratulator on the big victory there.

Speaker 1 (01:42:58):
JP will do it again next week.

Speaker 6 (01:43:00):
Start the parade in Kalamazoo, my friend, that's right there
loving it there at Western. Congratulations with the Broncos. And
thanks to you, Thanks you both of being great friends
and to giving my mom the shout outs. You really
appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (01:43:11):
We love very good.

Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
Absolutely, there is a great John Paul MOROSEI all right,
let's find out what is trending right now.

Speaker 1 (01:43:20):
It is a huge day. Some ball games, Monts. He's
interested in African I forget who's playing.

Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
If only I can only be watching that. In reality,
there's a lot of stuff going on, and so I
have that is one of the many things I'm keeping.

Speaker 4 (01:43:31):
An eye on last day of the NBA regular season,
lots of questions still when it comes to the Western Conference.
Right now, three minutes to go in the first half,
it's the Nuggets who are topping the Rockets fifty five
to forty seven.

Speaker 3 (01:43:43):
Nicolea Jokic sixteen points. Steve, maybe I misheard you, but
you know the Rockets did not bench anyone. All five
starters are in.

Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
Are they all playing?

Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
Everybody to playing.

Speaker 1 (01:43:51):
Because they're not playing very well? Cut if cut at
the tent.

Speaker 4 (01:43:56):
Very well to add us to yes, they are a
big defensive team, but that's why they're offense slacks.

Speaker 2 (01:44:02):
Well, then then that that then again my question, our
biggest question mark in the West is demper because fire
your coach.

Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
Yeah, I'm a rudderless ship. I'm with you. Are they
going to be the Nuggets we saw two years ago
that won a championship.

Speaker 3 (01:44:15):
I I'm with you, I'm with VJ. Though Nikolay can
take that team to the finals and by himself, That's
what I'm saying. That's what I want to see the
next drawing up.

Speaker 1 (01:44:25):
The day, get him in the Western Conference. Just tell
me to def there that you could say, hey, go
lock that guy down for seven games in a series.

Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
There isn't one he'st The Zubox would give him a
hard time. But can I see them in the finals.
You know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying.
But yes, I agree with VJ that Nicola Jokic can
do it single handle lead. But there's also questions because
you just fired the coach.

Speaker 4 (01:44:46):
So yes, they are the biggest question mark for me
as well going into the playoffs. At halftime, Timberwolves also
playing everybody against the Jazz, and they have a fifty
to forty nine.

Speaker 3 (01:44:57):
Lead Clippers and Warriors, and the Warriors are.

Speaker 4 (01:45:01):
Up forty four to forty with about five minutes to
go in the second quarter. Those are really all the
ones that matter of EATSA Zubat's ten points, nine rebounds
so far in that one.

Speaker 3 (01:45:11):
We'll check in on the Masters.

Speaker 4 (01:45:13):
After an exciting start, things have calmed down a little bit.
Rory McElroy through eight holes is even after that double
bogie that he started things off with.

Speaker 3 (01:45:22):
But guess who is now in second place along with
Bryson de Shamba.

Speaker 1 (01:45:26):
Oh that's right, Big Oberg Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:45:29):
Bout three shots are back.

Speaker 4 (01:45:32):
Oberg Conners is four shots back, one shot of Theirs. Yes,
Oberg is through ten holes, Bryson Deshamba through eight holes.
Still plenty of game left, but Roy McElroy seems seems
to have, you know, calmed down and gotten in his rhythm.
In baseball, we had a tie game between the Blue
Jays and the Orioles. Bobaschet did tie the game for

(01:45:54):
the Blue Jays with an RBI single in the eighth inning.
So it's the top of the ninth inning. They're tied
at six apiece in Baltimore. Head it into the bottom
of the ninth inning right now, Marlins outscoring the Nationals
eleven to four, top of the ninth, bottom of the eighth,
with the Astros beating the Angels seven to three, mets
a scoreless in the second inning, Padres up on the
Rockies four zero, top of the second inning, Brewers beating
the Diamondbacks to zero, also top of the second, and

(01:46:16):
the Mariners have scored first against the Rangers bottom the
first in Seattle there up to zero.

Speaker 3 (01:46:21):
The Giants held on to defeat the Yankees five to four.

Speaker 4 (01:46:25):
Jung Hu Lee homer twice in that one the Rays
outscored the Braves eight to three, The Royals had a
four to two victory over the Guardians, and the Reds
shut out the Pirates four zero to complete a three
game sweep, while the Red Sox they took down the
White Sox three to one, Twins outscored the Tigers five.

Speaker 3 (01:46:42):
To one, and the Cardinals shut out the Phillies seven zero.
All right, ha, A lot going on?

Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
He as that question for you, Manzi, Steve, you two,
you guys say your biggest question mark? Mazzi, who's your
biggest question mark in the WARSAI Conference with team I
would say the Nuggets, as you have the Nuggets also too,
question Marcus to what the.

Speaker 2 (01:47:00):
Because I don't know which team is gonna show up?

Speaker 1 (01:47:02):
Okay, I have a different team for than you guys,
and we haven't talked about it all today. My biggest
question mark in the Western Conference playoffs is the team
right here in town in downtown l A and Crypto,
and that's the Los Angeles Lakers. To me, they're huge
question mark? Are you guys just know?

Speaker 3 (01:47:23):
I don't think they're The Lakers.

Speaker 2 (01:47:24):
Are a question mark because we don't know about the
health of Lebron James right. And but the reason I
say Denvers because I think their ceiling is the top.

Speaker 1 (01:47:33):
They just want a championship. I don't think the Lakers Lakers.
I don't either, But also too, we know they're locked
in with Golden State guys. That's gonna be their first
run next Saturday or Sunday. Howbady schedule that game? I'll
be there that game one is gonna be against this
Golden State Warriors team.

Speaker 4 (01:47:53):
That's not for sure, so I haven't here. The Lakers
will play the Warriors. If the Warriors, the Timberwolves, and
the Nuggets win, or if the Warriors, the Wolves and
the Rockets win. That so the Clippers would have to lose.

Speaker 3 (01:48:06):
In order for five.

Speaker 1 (01:48:07):
I don't the Clippers can't be a six though, correct,
they can only be a seven. Okay, I don't think.

Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
The Warriors are going to be the six. So the
Warriors are sort of like where the Clippers are. They're
either going to be the five or the seven.

Speaker 3 (01:48:20):
Yeah, they just don't control their own destiny with a win.

Speaker 1 (01:48:22):
That's what it is.

Speaker 6 (01:48:24):
Right now.

Speaker 1 (01:48:25):
The Nuggets win, they lock in four. Correct, Yes, that
is correct. Okay, Now, if Golden State wins this game,
they can go up to five. So then who would
be sitting at six?

Speaker 3 (01:48:37):
I think the Clippers. If the Clippers win, oh no,
because they're.

Speaker 1 (01:48:40):
Saying that's what I'm saying. They can't be a six Minnesota.
That was just Memphis. So it's either good at Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (01:48:46):
Minnesota, and then the Golda State Warriors would go up
to the fifth. Correct, right, I'm thinking most likely the
Lakers are going to play Minnesota as the sixth seed.

Speaker 3 (01:48:57):
As the sixth seed, they play the Clips.

Speaker 4 (01:49:00):
Sorry, the Lakers will play the Timberwolves. If the Timberwolves,
the Clippers.

Speaker 3 (01:49:03):
And the Nuggets win. Okay, well that's what Dave mcminnimon
put so.

Speaker 1 (01:49:09):
So Utah is one boy game at the half. Okay,
well you're right.

Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
Then if the Clippers lose, then you're saying that it
will be Golden State exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:49:17):
Yeah, the NBA would love a first round match the
Lakers and the Warriors. That's a dreamt in the second or.

Speaker 2 (01:49:28):
Because you want to you want a dynamic first round,
of course you do. You're not going to get that
in the East because.

Speaker 1 (01:49:33):
They're gonna be a couple of sweeps and they're gonna
be a couple of five games series in this first round. Okay,
so he's not playing around Cleveland. The Boss is not
playing around.

Speaker 6 (01:49:40):
If you.

Speaker 1 (01:49:42):
If you have Warriors Lakers first round, that's the first
seven games. Yeah, that's the first round series. Outrage every
other series that's going on at that point.

Speaker 2 (01:49:50):
And and by the way, I'm not guaranteeing the Lakers
get past the Warriors.

Speaker 1 (01:49:53):
Yeah, that's the that's.

Speaker 3 (01:49:57):
I don't think there're a question.

Speaker 4 (01:49:58):
I just don't.

Speaker 3 (01:49:59):
I don't. I don't think the Lakers are right.

Speaker 1 (01:50:02):
I'm telling you. The rebounding and then some nights you go,
like they outrebounding Houston the other night, and it's like, wow,
how do you guys out rebound Houston like this? Or
like last Sunday were sitting here doing the show, We're
watching him blow Okac off the floor. Yeah, they were
up thirty at one point in that game, and then
they come back around two nights later and they looked
like a completely Yeah, but what was that the Lakers

(01:50:23):
or was that okay? See, I mean I mean okay, see,
like I said, Mike Dad Tony one of my favorite cootes.
He had to say to a Siline reporter one times
I don't have an answer. Sometimes the other guy's just good, right.
Sometimes sometimes Kobe doesn't matter what you do. Sometimes the
other team's just good. The other guy's just good, regardless
of what we deployed as a team to try to
stop them. By the way, again, while speaking here, you

(01:50:44):
know it suddenly got hot again. Justin Rose.

Speaker 2 (01:50:47):
I know he just birdied the twelfth hall and now
is a three way tie per second, Rose, Oberg and
Deshamble all at nine under. What's interesting about this is
you got amen corner right, eleven, twelve, thirteen. These are
when getting nervis and the players in front of McElroy
into Shambo are not having a problem. They are feasting
off these holes. Right now, another birdie for.

Speaker 1 (01:51:10):
Thirteen under four stroke lead. Wow, he is, he's in
good shape right now, thanks Brycing.

Speaker 2 (01:51:16):
So right now a four shot lead for Rory McElroy
heading into the back nine.

Speaker 1 (01:51:23):
Well, de Shambo, he still has to put here right.

Speaker 2 (01:51:26):
Yeah, balls about the same spot as Rory. Is he
also going for bird I would believe so. Yes, Okay,
Rory could put this thing, put it in a cruise control,
but you still got to get eleven, twelve and thirteen.
Don't put it in a cruise control back anywhere there's
anywhere there's water, which is eleven, twelve and thirteen.

Speaker 1 (01:51:43):
There's always danger. It's always right, but just put it
in a cruise control. At this point of your life
in golf, this point of your career, you should know
how to hold on to a possible stroke lead on
the back nine of a major. Don't do nothing, don't
take no chances, don't try nothing new, don't try nothing
you've been working on well and again, do what you know.

Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
Works of all of Tiger's amazing records, to me, the
most amazing was is that the first fourteen times that
he led a major going into the final round, he
won all fourteen.

Speaker 1 (01:52:16):
Yeah, he won them all, all of them, all of them.

Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
And he never and he never won a major where
he was trailing going into the final round at that point.
So all fourteen of his majors he was fourteen and
fourteen leading in the final round. That is what you
understand how to play with the lead. And de Shambo
just missed the putt. Yeah, so he will not get
a burned years. So we're talking McElroy a four shot
lead going into the turn, Yeah, he's giving if you

(01:52:41):
can't win it with a four shot lead with nine holes.

Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
To play, really the game that you got rose to
move into here too. Yeah, so the road chairs absolutely,
I just don't think. And like I said, if you're
but if you're rory, you put this babue have hand lane.
You set the cruise control of seventy five so the
state troopers leave, you'll line. You just have to avoid water. Yeah,
and you just put this thing on cruise control. Man,
you don't try nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:53:02):

Speaker 1 (01:53:48):
Part of our show today.

Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
Chris John Sanders, are O p Ser graduated Kalamazoo right there.
A great day for a lot of people who are
fans of Michigan football. Absolutely or alum and Shay of course,
so double duty with me this weekend. Shit, it was
great to see you doing everything today. Is this a
regular thing or what's going on here?

Speaker 6 (01:54:08):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:54:08):
You know, yeah, it's hard to show. You missed the
segment where he called you out yesterday about his Lebron
take of this being Lebron's last year? Did you hear?

Speaker 6 (01:54:17):
So?

Speaker 1 (01:54:17):
I threw out the exact same thing last and I
didn't get the I didn't get your response. I had
to walk out. I couldn't hear. It's why why I could.
I just couldn't.

Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
He couldn't hear the fact that you were in lockstep
with me and then actually won up me by saying,
actually I beat you by a day on.

Speaker 1 (01:54:32):
That I did.

Speaker 8 (01:54:34):
I also told you yesterday that VJ would agree one
hundred percent because he's a Lebron hitter.

Speaker 1 (01:54:38):
No, I agree, because I just know the landscape is
see it, bro, I was just covered on Friday night,
I still on the court and did my post game
for VEST and Fox Sports Ready and Fanny TV, and
I said, this is no longer Lebron James is France.
It's not okay. But that doesn't mean they're going to
get rid of him. You're smarter, You're trying to rebuild
around your twenty five year old. You better do it
now because his wants and his demands are only going

(01:54:59):
to get wor so worse as he sees. It's literally
working playoff game. What if they're a fifty win team?
What do you mean? How is it working? Who let
me have this?

Speaker 8 (01:55:11):
He's also you said he's not averaging twenty five points anymore.
He's averaging twenty four point Your question, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (01:55:17):
Saying what you're saying is wrong, but this is the
only question I have for you, is that where Lebron
James has brought your franchise down and you standing you
bragg on the Lakers winning fifty games, that's nothing You're
I'm not briding. I'm just saying it worked fifty games season.

Speaker 2 (01:55:30):
Nothing works Okay, look at going back and I hate
to be like in lockstep here with EJ. But here's
the thing about this, Shay, and I'll go back to
the late great Kobe Bryant who always told me this.
There are two grades for a Lakers season. A f
are you win the championship or you don't. They don't
get into the NBA Finals and you lose.

Speaker 1 (01:55:50):
Well, we're going to decide that show.

Speaker 2 (01:55:52):
So now when we talk about it's working, we haven't
played any games that matter yet. Of course, if if,
if the Bakers win a championship this year, if they
win it all and Lebron plays great, could be a
game changer.

Speaker 1 (01:56:09):
But if they don't win the championship, it's over. That's it.

Speaker 2 (01:56:14):
I'm gonna move on because that's where the Laker mentality is.
This team enough to win a championship, Throw it at hell.
They need more defense. You don't get the one person
that's good at defense, But you don't think you get
any trade capital out of Lebron.

Speaker 1 (01:56:29):
Paulmore second seas, what did you just say, You said,
get rid of the what Lebron don't play no damn defense.

Speaker 8 (01:56:34):
We're talking about Lebron hasn't played defense in three years.
Let's stop talking about you covered them.

Speaker 1 (01:56:38):
You see them? You know what I say him do
I see him stand his ass down on the block.
You don't know what you're talking about. This, That's why
I want out.

Speaker 5 (01:56:48):
This.

Speaker 6 (01:56:49):
I did.

Speaker 2 (01:56:51):
I did see what Okay, I did see really hatcher
Mura screaming at Lebron on one defensive breakdown the other day.

Speaker 1 (01:56:58):
Yeah, and and Lebron basically backing him down, pretty much
putting him back in his place because you're not allowed
to say nothing to Lebron. See your Lebron hater. That's
where that's coming from. That's all I'm gonna say. Well,
you know what, I guess what that turned out and
bother me anymore. It actually makes it pumps me up more.
So I want you to keep saying, first of all,
of the T shirt that says that on end vj's
a Lebron hater, I'll wear it. Take a pitch of

(01:57:19):
posting on my social you pay for it on that game,
all right, bet that's what that's easy. I mean, I
got a free person to do that. Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:57:25):
I am not a Lebron hater, as you know, because
I've said he's the greatest of all time lakerker. I
am a Laker fan, but I'm also I have to
understand what's best for the Lakers moving forward. The Lakers
haven't won a championship when it actually counted, a real
one since twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:57:41):
Ten, since Kobe, since I was in the locker. Ubb
not with a four month break home boy. No in
a twenty one game to the chase to the end, No,
absolutely not.

Speaker 2 (01:57:51):
And I watched the entire postseason that year. Most of
the teams didn't even want to.

Speaker 1 (01:57:55):
Be there, and that's when the started with Chris Bruso.

Speaker 2 (01:58:00):
They won because they were the only team motivated to win.
It was the year that Kobe was killed. They had
motivation to win.

Speaker 1 (01:58:06):
Every other time, no else motivated to I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:58:09):
Sorry, were you have to parade for that championship that
I wasn't They didn't have a parade. Look, the Dodgers
finally won their first championship since nineteen eighty eight.

Speaker 1 (01:58:17):
I don't know last year. That was legit. That's six
and you cannot count twenty twenty, just the same as
all their other chiams. Oh you can't count a sixty.
You cannot, is what we can't argue you cannot count
a sixty game MLB season. That's less than one hundred game.
That's what was interrupted by three months. That's like four months. Actually,
that's like Also, that's like saying, Okay, NFL, we're gonna

(01:58:38):
play five games and crowned championaires. No one walking in
the studio that would respect that Super Bowl. So let's
not act like it's not that for the other sports.
Just the scenario they were putting. It's not like the Lakers,
everyone else, everyone else in the bubble. Everyone else had
that fifty boy and guess what it's all wax I
was on the couple Christmas. I said, before the bubble

(01:59:00):
will start it, I'm not respected who wins this ding
because they've been on a break, just because it doesn't
mean it's true. Though I know that it goes down
as an NBA championship. That's the point that I'm making.
I'm not saying it because the Lakers won it. I
put it out there before the bubble starts, said, listen,
if they go back and play, I'm not respecting this
championships one.

Speaker 8 (01:59:17):
You would be holding that ring like it's the biggest
ring in the world. I don't want to hear it now.

Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
All right, but we're not talking about the Pistons. We're
talking about the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (01:59:27):
Hey bye, by the Lebron. We're talking about would you
say that the ownership of Genie Bus has been a success.
I'm asking Shay said that one more time.

Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
Has the ownership led by Genie Bus been a success
from it has been a success.

Speaker 1 (01:59:47):
Based on a chip? What do you mean one championship
from most teams don't even look at the championship. This
is the problem with the younger set.

Speaker 2 (01:59:56):
See, Shay, I grew up with the Lakers when they
were in the finals, like every year year, okay, every
year they're.

Speaker 1 (02:00:02):
In the finals. Yeah, that aging coming back, like you're
just gonna have to take the chance. But they believe
it can, Luca Doncic, it can.

Speaker 2 (02:00:09):
It didn't under Lebron, but it can under Luca if
you give him the right supporting cast. All right, right now,
it is a three shot lead for McRoy over Justin Rose.
