(00:50):
the Sherman Oaks slash La Fox Sports Radio Studios. How
about this? Look at that?
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I am up early, but I it's fine. I'm glad
to be here in studio. It's a bit different vibemen studio.
You know, like you you just Uh, it's just you know,
there's lights and cameras here. I I okay, so Isaac's
over there. I've never been Isaac before. Hello Isaac? How
are you? I have always I purposely never looked up
what Isaac looks like because I wanted to meet him
in person for the first time. We've had Isaac as
(01:18):
an anchor for years now, obviously, and I just wanted to.
I just wanted to, like envision, and then I saw
him working during the break. I was like, that's my
guy right there. Like that, Like, it's nice to be
in studio. You meet the people that you work with,
because we obviously work in different areas, and it's great
to be able to do that because you want to
put a face to the name I met. I hadn't
met our new producer yet. Like I met everyone. It's great,
(01:39):
It's fantastic. I like being here.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Well it just I mean just me, Brian, I mean
you're you're you know, I mean a me crack, it's
Brian's still Brian's no man, I don't even know where
he's at right now.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
But it's nice getting up five in the morning, isn't
it doesn't it?
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Well, so when I come out West, I don't complain
about it, but it's fine when I come out West.
I'm only here for four days. I stayed East Coast time.
Like I've been up at four claw four thirty for
the last and I'll go to bed like eight or nine,
like I keep because I'm I'm going home tomorrow six am.
Like I just keep the schedule my kids sort of.
I try to keep him on the schedules. So when
we get back to Charlotte, it just we just land
and we live the rest of our life like we
(02:14):
normally do. But I'll tell you what, every time i'm here,
I see what people like it here. Yeah, I mean,
you know, the traffic is what it is. It's so funny.
If I have to drive more than fifteen minutes in Charlotte,
absolutely no, just no chance. I'm just not doing it.
I'm just not gonna do it. I'm not I'm sorry,
I'm not doing it. Yesterday I had to go pick
(02:34):
my wife up, like in a friend's house an hour
and a half away, and I was like, ah, sure,
why not, I'll go do it. It's just so funny that, yeah,
you change your lifestyle because you're just used to different
things happening here. But the weather's the weather is wonderful,
the food's great. Obviously my parents. My dad turned seventy,
so I have a birthday dad. That's while we're out
here for this weekend. I had a little dinner last
night and then, you know, the restaurant had no cell receptions.
(02:56):
I couldn't check on my nose read over prop birthday
throughout the night. But it was it was fun. Nonetheless.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, birthday to your dad, Brian.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
You hear what he said.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
He said, Oh, I get to see why people like
it out here, like he's never been there.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Well, I only come back like once a year. So
it's it's like a kind of a thing where you
come back and you go. I met at some friends
in Venice for lunch on Friday, and it's like, yeah,
I see why people live here. Yeah. And then and
then people like, why don't you move back? I go, well,
I live on half an acre, Like I'm not. I
can't get that. I don't. I don't have those funds
(03:33):
unless they unless I maybe hit a future wager future,
I don't have those funds, and I can't have a
lot of affording to live in this area. But I
see why people like it here. I mean the weather's
fantastic and the food's good, and I mean kids have
a ton of fun when they come out here and
hang out with with the grandparents and do a lot
of you. My kids love go to peer. They can't
go to the pier in Charlotte on Caroline. So yeah,
(03:54):
it's it's fun to do that. But yeah, so I'm
in studio, it's nice. I did have to be nice
coffee this morning at five thirty in a place I
just don't like their coffee. I'm not going to blow
them up. But you can probably guess if the coffee
is just not good it's good. Yeah, I can, it's
just not good.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I don't know why people like it. I I just
every time I go, I'm like, oh, I guess. I mean, sure,
it's open, it's five twenty, you're open. I'll take it.
But I don't I know. I mean drink, I'm drinking.
I drink the whole thing. I'm gonna do it, but
I just I don't like it.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
Yeah, I'd rather go to like I don't know, if
you have a guy.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
That coffee down, I don't know. If I don't know
if if my answer is gas station coffee crack, But
I get it. There's some gases, you know, I don't
want to quick trips. Got some good coffee, I get it.
But yeah, it's uh yeah, I'm here. It's nice.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
The upsetting thing is we have some options around here,
like Dutch Brothers, which are like, it was.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Really good organ coffee.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
Yeah yeah, but it's like they're around here but nowhere
close to the studio. Same with Duncan, like.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
I would do dunk it.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
I'd rather I'm a Dunky guy.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
But it might just be a Northeast thing. Being in
New York for two years, like that's Duncan's everywhere, So
that might be a just a West coast, East coast. Yeah.
Dutch Brothers is from Oregon. They used to They were
not the first, but they had those mobile coffee little
stands in an organ. So enough enough coffee talk.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Maybe have you ever tried it's called beat down. It
originated in Minneapolis. I don't know if you've had that
kind of coffee yet. Have you tried that?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
I don't like it because and at least a bitter
taste in my mouth when you have overproducts. Yeah, you know,
the bitterness of a of a prop wager in a
forty point game, you can really leave a bad taste
in your mouth.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Brian.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, I know it, I know.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
So you're on NAS, what did you need one more
point from NOAs too?
Speaker 3 (05:38):
He had ten at halftime, and he had ten after
nineteen second every nineteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
That's just disgusting because he couldn't buy it three the
first two games, and then he hit both of his
three point attempts. You know, swish, swish. So if you're
on over, you know, eleven and a half, you're like,
all right, we're cooking with grease. We've got ten at halftime.
Nothing goose egg in the second. That's discussed.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
I'll tell you what. The blowouts though, I know that
sometimes the games are entertaining and you turn off, but
they're actually I think there's a real opportunity and some
of these blots to make money. You know. Yeah, you
can wait when I text you a halftime Brian. And
if I remember yesterday and I could do this, I'm
in California. I did have an option to do this,
but I'm like, look, man, you know, Oklahoma City is
gonna try for six minutes out of the second half,
(06:22):
and they did. They cut it till like twenty two,
twenty four. Minnesota made a push. But crack, there's a
there's a you can. You can just start taking under points.
I think, like in these blowouts because the Stars are
gonna sit like SG was not gonna play an entire
fourth quarter if this game was anything, you know, a
twenty five thirty point game, there's no reason. Right, you're
up two to one, you have, you know, so you
(06:42):
start betting these guys under and you can you know,
I'm gonna use the word you don't. You can parlay
some some unders with some of these guys points, rebounds
and assist. It's really a way to play these blowouts
or go the opposite direction. You take. You know, a
guy who's at the end of the bench, you can
find a number four. You take they're over right. I mean,
(07:02):
there's ways to play these blowouts if you have the
opportunity to do so.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
But Jeff and Brian, how many times have we done
that during the NFL season? We're fourth quarter up by
twenty one, You're like, what are you doing to six
minutes left? Get them out of there? And the players
they actually play till the end of the game. I
never understood the NFL the NFL homes because what are
you doing in there?
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Because the NFL crack is just a different mindset. Like
you know, in the NBA, if you're if you're okayc
like you're up, you're down thirty man, like you just lost.
Like the games, it's fine, you lose. You have game
four and we'll talk about Game four and how we're
to playing that one. But the NFL, you know, you
just the backup is so bad sometimes and you have
to take you don't have enough guys to take out,
(07:43):
Like you only have two backup offensive linemen and two
backup wide receivers. Just not enough guys to take out.
I think. So guys just stay in and they try
to throw the ball a little bit, and and that's
the way. I think. It's just a different sports. I
don't do that in the NFL. I don't really look
at in game unders of teams that are getting blown out.
I actually will go the opposite sometimes and take the
(08:03):
over of a team that, you know, just because I
think they're gonna keep throwing the ball.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
I'll tell you what, man, with SGA. He said it
after the game last night. So the thunder ok See
loses by forty two points. It's the largest playoff loss
in okac's history. Okay and after the game, SGA MVP
of the of the NBA right, SGA shake Gilgris Alexander
tremendous season, that he's had, great player. He said, I
(08:30):
just didn't bring it from an energy and focus standpoint,
And I sat there looking at my TV, like, how
can that be? This this is a mark of And
I don't want to go too far with it because
I think Okayc's gonna win a championship this year. They're
the most talented. But what happens from time to time
with a young team is they just lose focus. They're
young and immature. And you've seen this at stages before
(08:52):
with OKAC. You saw this in the first round against
the Grizzlies. There were a couple of games where they're
just sleep walking and you're like, what is happening right there?
There's so much better than the Grizzlies. How is this
a one possession game? Late? You saw it at times
against the Nuggets, like the OKC has twice the depth
literally of the Nuggets, and yet it's a seven game series.
(09:14):
Some of those games, you're like, what is happening tonight
with OKAC.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
This is why we collectively talk about winning NBA championship
has to come with teams that have done it before
in the situation they're a little older, right, Because this
is the thing, like you're not getting often a team
full of twenty seven to thirty four year olds that
are gonna have down ninth. They're gonna know, Brian like,
we gotta bring the energy every night because now we
(09:40):
let Minnesota back in the series. I'm with you, I
think I think this game is probably five game series.
But now we let Minnesota back in the building and
they play a home game now tomorrow, and they're gonna
think they're gonna make this a two two game, a
two two series. Older teams don't do that, And that's
I think why there's always one of the reasons why
we talk about needing your superstar to be like twenty seven.
Typically they have to be twenty seven years old to
(10:00):
win a championship. That's NBA history does happen to they're
twenty seven years old. This this Oklahoma City team would
be an outlier right to you to have your superstar.
What's he's twenty four SGA, I think six, so he's close.
But you know, and typically too, you need. Most NBA
champions have two superstar Hall of Fame type players on
(10:23):
the team. Oklahoma City has one at the moment, Like
you don't. They break a lot of the mold, and
so I think with that you're gonna get games like
last night. But to be fair, Minnesota was shooting lights.
I mean they just shot. They're not gonna shoot that
well in game four. In my opinion, Oklahoma says defense
is great. I mean it's gonna be squares can be cracked.
But I will be all over Okac's number in game four,
(10:45):
three and a half. That's ridiculous. They're gonna they're Minnesota's
gonna shot as well in Game four. They could gotta
be wrong, but I think Oklahoma City to your shape,
to sja's point, like if energy was low in game three,
what even they're talking about from the end of that
game to game four, you know, like energy, energy, energy,
And but I do think a concern for me with
(11:06):
Okay see on the road, we've seen it against Memphis
and against Denver is again like they have SGA and not.
I think role players is too harsh a way to
describe the rest of the roster, Brian, but they're guys
that aren't as good on the road for the like
they just they they're just not And so you can't
(11:27):
have a situation where you just don't play as well,
even if you bring the energy so excited for for
game four. It's a series now, So I'm glad in
Minnesota one because it makes it way more compelling.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
And this game opened up at four guys just to
let you know everywhere, and quickly went down to three
and a half and there's actually three's on the board now,
and I expect it to be around the free.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
That feels way too that feels its way too low
for I think. I mean, we saw a Game one
in game two. How those games went at the end, right,
I mean Minnesota's got tired and Minnesota starts slow in
this game. I think that plays right, Okay, we'll see.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
Yeah, yeah, no, I see this this spread. It looks
like to me now that I'm looking at the opener,
compared to now the Sharper originating sports books are already
down to three. I think that's where this line's gonna
wind up about, you know. But again, let's just a
little recap for me that Timberwolves. You know, they look
like a different team last night. Of course, from opening
(12:21):
to tip though. They were the more aggressive team from
the start, played a lot more physical than they did
the first two games, especially on defense. I still think
they're in this series, of course, obviously, but they have
to win.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
This next game at home.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
This is a big game for them to win at
home when everyone is going to think that you know that, Okay,
see they got put in check. Now forget it. They're
gonna blow them away. Anthony Edwards playing at the level
he did last night, Boy, their team defense, it was
on point. They really they are really a tough team
to beat. So this game is an interesting game, Like
(12:59):
I said, like Jeff said, actually we just go back
to the lines again. Opened it for down to three
and a half. Actually, Betam Jim just moved since.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
We're on air.
Speaker 5 (13:09):
It was three and a half flat, now straight and
a half plus traight a half minus fifteen.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
So I would think this game is going to go.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Down to probably around three, and I expect a lot
of OKAC money to come in. But don't be surprised
if it's not a game again. You don't be surprised
if we're we don't have an unbelievable game again. This
is one I usually don't look forward to watching a
lot of NBA. This, This will be an interesting game,
just like I thought some of the now. Now the
Knicks and Indiana games will be pretty interesting now and
(13:39):
people are even saying that. They're saying on Twitter, I
was reading some of the guys were saying Indiana's only
minus two after what they just did. You know, this
is the NBA, It's not It's not a sport where
you know, if you look, if you look at the
previous history of the NBA and NFL, look at the
major sports. These these guys are professionals. These aren't kids
(14:03):
that fold under pressure. These are professionals. You'd be shocked
to see what happens here. I'm suspecting there'll be leads
back and forth in both of these games multiple times
throughout the day.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
So well, that's just the way it goes in the
NBA play. It is wild. Yeah, how how different a
series can look game to game. If you look at
the first two games, Minnesota is not even close to
the same level as okay see, and then last night
Minnesota wins by forty two. It's like what happened from
games one and two to three. That's the way it
(14:36):
goes a lot of times in the NBA. Player SGA said.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
It though, right, like there becomes a complacency. It's natural,
right to have complacency, right and especially because the first
two games were close early and then okay see blew
them out and you know, middle third quarter, fourth quarter,
as you know, Okay, she just has these runs right
where it's like steal, layup, you know, block a shot,
three pointer. It's like the game goes from two, three
(15:00):
points to ten all of a sudden avalanches from there.
I would imagine it's human nature for a younger team
to go into Minnesota and just say to ourselves, let's
just keep it close and we'll blow them out in
the third quarter. And instead the Wolves were up twenty
in the first quarter. It's like, oopsie, a strategy didn't work,
and there's really no recovering from that. Now they came
out again, they cut the lead from thirty to twenty,
(15:22):
m rounding you know, to start the first four minutes
of the third quarter right and then that was the
Again the Wolves kind of clawed back. So if we
get a better effort from from OKAC early in the game,
I think it will be their game in game in
game four. The thing about the game today is that's
not the Knicks problem. They're just losing. Like the efforts there,
(15:42):
they just the Pacers are better now the Pacers are
at home, and home court used to matter a lot more.
I feel like it does anymore. There's many reasons for
that in my opinion. One is just like everyone travels
better now. Two is these guys play in a young
age in these AU tournaments, they play all over the world.
They're not considered by playing road games anymore. There's no like,
(16:02):
there's no hostile crowds unless they're obviously in the WNBA. Brian,
we haven't gone update on the investigation to the Fever
fans yet. I thought they were like the worst ever.
There hasn't been update. It's been a week now. We're
gonna get a update hopefully from the WNBA. Nonetheless, like
I think the players are just they're they're not as
intimidated by these road crowds anymore. And with the three pointer,
now if you're just hot from three, like you win
(16:25):
road games like this, it's not so. I think there's
just it used to be where you handicap it. Oh,
teams at home, they're gonna today. I have no idea
the Nicks can come out today and played great. I
don't know how to handicap this game because I think
that this series has been even except the pitchers have
won the critical moments at the end of the game,
and there's no saying the Knicks can't do that today.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Well, that's the thing with I give Minnesota credit last
night where they played great defense, challenging shots, forcing turnovers,
fueling their offense, all of that stuff, and you guys
have said it. They finally started hitting outside shots. They
were twenty for forty, they hit twenty threes. Wow, And
so yeah, give Minnesota credit. But I just don't understand
how OKC can be like, yeah, I just didn't bring it.
(17:07):
From an energy and focused standpoint, It's like, what else
are you using your energy on right now? Like what
how do you come out just like, yeah, we didn't
have energy or focus. Those are two things that should
always be on point, and they just weren't. They were
non existed last night. How it's just an immature team.
That's what happens with a young and immature team from
(17:28):
time to time.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
I think, as I mentioned, I think really the way
the first two games went, it's a little natural to
come into Game three on the road and think like,
let's keep it close and we'll win the last eighteen minutes.
And it just they got behind so quickly, so fast
that it didn't happen that way. One one thing too
(17:50):
about the game, can we This is a very boomer take,
and I'm not a boomer, Like I'm kind of tired
of like the home team wearing the road jersey. It's
very confusing if your home were your home jersey, if
you're on the road, where your road Now they get
where the city connecting toforms whatever they call that, that's
the Baseball term for the I don't know what the
the city what they call them the NBA city. They're
(18:12):
not city connecting to forms.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
They just have I don't know the name for it.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
They got rid of them.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
They have a bunch of alternatives.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
They totally couldn't wear because the Pacers a wearing those
ugly city uniforms the first two rounds. They're like, you
can't wear those anymore. We have real basketball now, can
you wear your uniform? It's just like I'm looking at
the highlights, I'm like, oh, yeah, Minnesota was at home.
They're wearing blue. Come on, come on, guys, can we
just wear like? Is that too much to ask?
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Brian listen? We got Jeff the Boomer Schwartz here today, right, yeah?
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Is that too much? Where are your home? Where your home?
Speaker 2 (18:41):
You?
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Where your home? Colors?
Speaker 1 (18:43):
At home?
Speaker 2 (18:44):
I don't hate it, but we got Jeff yelling at
clouds Schwartz here today. You know it's it's fine, no problem.

(19:57):
I feel like I have to apologize to you immediately
for this next segment because you'll like the first half,
you'll hate the second half. But I think it's time
well spent. So like Aaron Judge, this guy is unbelievable.
Not breaking news, but look at what he's doing. So
he's leading MLB and home runs, he's got eighteen. He
leads it in batting average. His average is just under
(20:19):
four hundred. He's at three to ninety five right now,
he's tied for second in RBIs with forty six. He's
putting up monster numbers. He's in the Triple Crown conversation,
and yet he's insisting that he's a work in progress,
which is just it's like he's a gift from the
baseball gods, and he's like, no, no, no, no, no, I've
got a lot of stuff to work on. Trust me,
(20:40):
I'm a work in progress. So you start with Aaron Judge,
and then with that in mind, you got to look
at Aaron Rodgers a lot differently because on the other hand,
there's this guy Rogers who is in the news again
for all the wrong reasons. Instead of signing a contract
with an actual NFL team, he's dragging it out and
now he's dropping childish hints. So this was an appearance
(21:01):
last weekend in Austin, Texas. He's on stage, they're answering
questions from the crowd. Apparently he's on stage with another
guy that goes by the rapper stage name of Mike Studd.
So we got Rogers on stage with Mike Studd. They're
answer answering questions and uh, they're going at it now.
(21:22):
This is one of the things. This was the hint
that he dropped about who he might be playing NFL
football for this season. Will answering Rodgers ever go to
the Bears.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Boy security, we'll get her out of here.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
Need to take.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
It easy on her.
Speaker 7 (21:41):
But I believe there's a team that might play in
Chicago this year.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
What road trip, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
We sure got to check it out.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
What are we doing, as Jeff Schwartz would say over here,
So we're we're dropping hints in Austin, Texas about the
Bears home schedule. They have a road opponent. One of
them is the Steelers. Of course it's the Steelers. They
all Bears also play the Vikings. Right, there have been
some you know you read between the lines. Is there
anything there with the Vikings and Rogers. It's about the Steelers,
(22:11):
like Steelers' ownership is openly talking about hopefully we'll sign Rogers.
It's just a matter of time here. So if you
compare the Errands, it's wild, right if you look at it,
Aaron Judge behaves like a mature adult, and you've got
Aaron Rodgers behaving like an immature kid, and he plays quarterback.
It's insane. But it's another chapter in the book of Rogers,
(22:32):
and he's on his own time. He'll sign when he
wants to sign and it's all about him.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
The Jews doesn't feel worth the squeeze for Pittsburgh at
this point, right. Yeah, he's down missed the entire offseason
program essentially, So he's gonna come in there a week
one of training camp and we have to learn the
playbook for the first time. You have to speak quickly,
get chemistry going with his offensive lineman, with his wide receivers,
with the offensive coordinator, all wall doing the everything else
(23:01):
that he does in his life. And look, you can
have a podcast, you can do plenty of things. But
when it feels like it's sort of becoming a distraction,
that's when you probably don't want to do it. And
it feels like at this point in his life, he's
not into football, which is fun. Guys, if you don't
want to play football, don't play football. Like you you
don't know what's making you play. If you're not one
hundred percent and don't play a lot of guys are
(23:23):
not one hundred percent in. And it's miserable. My last
year in the NFL and my last training gamep I
was not one hundred percent in. It was miserable. I
was like ninety percent in I you know it, just
just be done. He's made a lot of money, he
has his legacy. He's gonna go walk in the Hall
of Fame, no matter how you feel about him as
a person, He's a first ballot Hall of Famer, and
just be done with it. I know you want the attention.
(23:44):
I know you have to be in the spotlight as
much as possible for your ego, and and you need
to feel that that people want you. And but you're
very clearly not into being NFL quarterback. You're the only
quarterback who could potentially start Week one who's not in
the building right now with their team. Right you still
do all things you want these offseason and be on
(24:04):
the Pittsburgh Steelers, And it just feels like the marriage
might happen. I'm crack. I already liked Steelers under eight
and a half. If they signed Aaron Rodgers, I might
hit it again. I just I just fading the whole
situation at Pittsburgh. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. It's my
first time I'll ever be wrong, so I'll take it.
But I just the vibes are bad for this one,
(24:28):
and Pittsburgh seems so desperate, which they are because they
failed to adjust corre a situation any meaningful way for
years now, and to have to wait on Aaron Rodgers
to sign to maybe be five hundred is a terrible
spot to be in the National Football League.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
Yeah, you know, we know that Aaron Rodgers all, you know,
just like you said, loves the attention, and we all
figured he waited till last minute to winn ounce anything.
Speaker 4 (24:50):
I think he's going to be in.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
The Steelers' uniform to start the season, and you know,
we'll probably sign these next few weeks. How effective can
he be at forty one? I'm not that forty one
so old? But can can he stay healthy the whole season?
How good can the Steelers be? Like you said, eight
and a half win total. I'm surprised the organization would
(25:12):
put up with any bs over there. I'm surprised they
would put up with any you know, delay tactics or
This is not about holding back for money or anything.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
I don't think anyway.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
I mean it's not.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Guy just came off of what do you just make?
What do you make with the Jets? Eighty eighty some
million dollars money?
Speaker 3 (25:28):
It's it's power, right, he keeps the power. I would
imagine Pittsburgh has told him like, buddy, you ain't You
ain't doing McAfee every week if you're a Pittsburgh Steeler, Like,
it's about power in my opinion, and ego and wanting
to be wanted and wanting it your way. Right, I'll
just show up in training camp. I'm going to miss
all the stuff I don't want to do in the
officers anyways. But crack, this is Pittsburgh's fault too.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
They have refused to meaningfully addressed court situation since Big
Ben left. Mason Rudolph is not an answer. Picket is
not an answer. That was a terrible draft pick. The
only quarterback that you're drafting in the first round, I believe, right, Brian,
I think I'm right on that, wasn't it The idea
of you have to either be really bad or trade
up and go for it in the draft, and Pittsburgh
does none of those things. Yeah, And those are the
(26:14):
realities of the National football If you want a quarterback,
you have to be bad for a season. And this
is the perfect year. Twenty twenty six is the year.
At the quarterback there are like eleven guys who might
go number one overall. Right now, it's a huge golf
of quarterbacks this year, and they're gonna do the same
same thing eight and nine or eight and ten. It
can't be eight and ten. I guess, I guess they
(26:36):
technically can't lose a playoff game eight and nine at
nine and eight. The draft seventeenth, you know, to twenty
two and they're gonna draft another dtackle and you're like, well, like,
what what was all that for?
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Right?
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Yeah, it's a listen. If there's a year to just
take your medicine and be bad, if you need a quarterback,
it's this year. And yet the Steelers are fully on
board with the Aaron Rodgers Show and the and it's crazy,
like this isn't breaking news. With Aaron Judge, he's amazing,
but when you compare him to Aaron Rodgers, you look
(27:10):
at him in a different light where it's like Aaron
Judge is zero drama. He's not a diva, he's not
a walking headache. He is a total pro and Rogers
is just about him and his timeline and what he
wants and that's it. It's crazy, man, but that's.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
Where we are.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
If you're a Yankee fan, You're like so excited that
he's your guy.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Oh god, how could he not be root for?
Speaker 3 (27:34):
You know, he seems like a great teammate, obviously a
fantastic player, and you know, you you would think you
know his career. You know, you hope he win a
championship for the Yankees at some point. I'm Yankee fans
wish that no one else does in baseball. But it
feels like a guy who's just gonna be there as
you know, fifteen eighteen years as a Yankee uniform, and
you know, to put up the numbers. He's doing this
(27:54):
year after last year. He's you know, like you could
have just said this offseason, I don't want to work
as hard, you know, I don't want to do this
and that, and he came out and done the same
exact thing. The thing I find very interesting about baseball
nowadays too, is well two things. One is that I
don't know how these guys hit. I mean, you watch
any of these pitchers throw, I don't know how anyone hits.
(28:14):
It blows my mind. Ninety eight one oh two, no
idea where the ball is amazing, like no one. The
thing about these guys that know hard too, especially the relievers.
The ball is never going to the target. There's no chance.
Paul Skis does no target. It's starting pitcher. But these
guys come in the seventh in an thrown one O
two and the ball cuts and sinks. It's not going
I don't know how these guys yet.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
It's amazing.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
H five is remarkable, and Judge continues to play at
this level. We haven't really seen this level since like
Barry Bonds, I mean, like you said, he's first in
the league home runs batting average ninety five. He says,
a second in RBIs with forty six. He really is
a work in progress. Okay, Like he.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Says, we're gonna attitude to have tho it is.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
It is an attitude to have. You know, we want
to see a dominating performance like that in the playoffs
from him, though, you have to sign in the World
Series that that would like immortalize him in the pinstripes
like Mantle or g or Reggie Jackson something like that.
So playoff time he's got to step it up too.
But imagine the Yankees almost didn't sign him. Remember it
(29:22):
was like Seattle Will offered him like four hundred million.
He actually got paid, like I think, sixty million less
to stay in New York. It's it's unbelievable. They would
have tore down the city. I told Brian last night,
they would have tore a city down if they didn't
sign matter and Judge you get away.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
They almost did. They almost did.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
It's but that's sometimes you take a little bit less
money for career happiness. And I think one Soto's maybe
questioning that as well. Sure so I think a little
bit less money for career happiness. And CREC you mentioned that.
This is the other thing about Aaron Judge I find
so interesting. No one walks him like Barry Bonds got
intentionally walked one hundred and ten times in two thousand
and four. He walked children seventy two times in two
(30:04):
thousand and four. Yeah, no one, No one, she walks
Aaron Judge.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Get it. And I'm not disagreeing with you, I promise,
because you compare him to Bonds. It's night and day
in terms of intentional walks. They intentionally walked him. Yesterday,
I might have had a first five bet on the
Yankees and they exploded for ten runs in the fifth inning.
That was beautiful. Yeah, but they intentionally walked Aaron Judge
and you're like, they finally did it. Why don't teams
do that more often? It's crazy? But you know, you
(30:31):
talk about putting up numbers in the postseason along with
the regular season crack that we've got a guy who
does that all the time. That would be Isaac Loewenkron
brings it in the postseason as well. I low with
the latest.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
The real numbers, however, even better than mine put up
on Saturday night by the Minnesota Timberwolves. After losing the
first two games of the Western Conference Finals by twenty
six points and fifteen points, respectively, they beat Oklahoma City
in Game three by forty two points one forty three
to one oh one. OKC still leads the series two
games to one. In Game three of the NHL's Eastern
(31:04):
Conference Finals on Saturday night, the defending Stanley Cup champion
in Florida Panthers won at Carolina six to two for
a three games to none lead. Baseball Saturday Night Phillies
beat the Athletics and eleven innings nine to six for
a nine game winning streak. Kyle Schwarber, the go I,
had two run double in the top of the eleventh.
He had homered earlier to tye Aaron Judge for the
major league lead with eighteen homers, and the Marlins beat
(31:25):
the angel six to two to break the Angels eight
game winning streak. Now, today and tonight might be the
greatest single sports day that any city might have ever experienced,
is certainly the greatest four the city of the Indianapolis, because,
of course, tonight at eight eastern, it's Game three of
the Eastern Conference Finals between the Pacers and the Knicks,
(31:45):
with the Pacers up two games to none, but up first.
At twelve forty five eastern, the one hundred and ninth
running of the Indianapolis five hundred and fellas, as we speak,
a pre race music festival known as the Snake Pit
is all funny underway at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And
to give you an idea of the atmosphere there, a
(32:06):
short time ago, twenty one year old Sam Williams of
Fort Wayne, Indiana told the Indianapolis Start newspaper and I quote,
we ain't going slow. We got money to spend. We
came prepared. The plan is to crush every beer in
sight unquote. Back to you guys.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
That is a as a major game plan right there.
Very interesting stuff. I like like it, I lo okay, yeah,
we got Indie today. Huh what do you like better?
Do you like u nis and bricks that's one of
the slowans or do you like pacers and racers? Which
do you like better? What do we think that moorfitting
theme will be today?
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Man, I'll tell you what I I think the Knicks.
I mean, obviously we'll have to show life. How might
go back to Knick's first quarter? Brian, I don't know
me and you were sweating out of first we had
all say Wager's crack on game two. I had Nick's
first quarter, Brian had Pacers first quarter. I got hooked.
Brian won by the hook. It was two points, two
(33:07):
and a half points, the Knicks one in the quarter,
by two by two. It was back and forth. I
mean it was they were down a bit and back
and forth, and Brian was the right side the whole time.
It would have been a pretty bad beat if Brian
had lost the first quarter the way that they played out.
But you know, you know, when the team is down
to you know, two, I like to take them in
game three. But most of the time that team is
(33:28):
at home in game three, Like this is the inverse
of that, where Indiana's up two oh, and they're at
home in game three. And you know, we saw it
in the Cavs series, the Calves came into Indiana and
dominated game three. But this is not the Calves. This
is the Knicks team who you know, it feels it's
it's cat in brunts of the very top heavy, Like
(33:48):
they're not getting those those points from those guys. And
we were, Brian, I were texting about this, like Cat
didn't play at the end of the fourth quarter very much.
Mitchell Robinson was in for some odd reason there at
the end, and I just when the Pacers can have
a fourteen point Halliburton game, we had like two and
(34:08):
a half and still win on the road. Yeah, Hallyburns,
it's thirty four and a half point rebounds, the assists.
He was at thirty four last game even with fourteen points.
I mean, if you get that over from how the games,
you're cooked, man, the game is done. I just don't
like the Knicks in the spot, even though everything in
sort of NBA history would tell me to take the
team down O two crack but they're on the road.
(34:30):
They can't scores as well as the Pacers. I think
the defense has not been good. That's why Mitt Robinson's
playing so much. He's at least provide him some defense
in the interior.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Yeah, he might even start there. He might start for
Josh Hart.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Yeah, and I like it. Just I like the Pacers
better in this spot. I had I have a decent
sized wager on this game, this series going over five
and a half games. I laid a little juice at
minus one seventy and I'm shocked. I mean I was losing.
I mean I could get you know, game four, I
could in game five, I could final way out of it.
Of course, a little bit to cut my losses there,
(35:06):
but I would lean Pacers here. I just I think
they're better.
Speaker 5 (35:13):
Do we have Christian on today, guys?
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Yeah? Later on?
Speaker 8 (35:16):
Ye.
Speaker 5 (35:17):
I like to know why I am GM's last. I mean,
there's even a one and a half on my screen
and now it's all twos dog fifteen. Yet MGM sitting
at the only two and a half in the world.
So I just want to know. I like to know
the situation there, like did they get a lot of uh,
did someone bet a lot of money on Indiana, which
I understand after those two games, but they have stayed
(35:40):
at the two and a half. I was going to
make sure the line is right, Yes it is. It's
I'm on the MGM site now, not just my odd screen.
And uh yeah, the only two and a half in
the country, in the world is MGM. So we'll have
to ask him why there. Maybe they have a big
side on that. But yeah, you know, listen, this this
game opened up surprisingly, opened up at the sharp spots
at one and a half, quickly went to two and
(36:02):
a half and now back down to two dog money. Uh,
this will be an interesting game. Now I am watching.
You know, I don't watch a lot of NBA games
throughout this season, but I am looking forward to watch
this game tonight. And I say tonight's five pm my time,
our time, actual. Three of us out here, Jeff, are
you headed home today.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Or tomorrow tomorrow? Tomorrow morning?
Speaker 5 (36:23):
So you're watching this from la somewhere or you're not.
Are you with the family today?
Speaker 3 (36:28):
We watch sports as a family. No family, no, no, no, no,
look okay, crack, you don't have kids. Have kids. When
I came Thursday, I told my Mom, I go, I'm
I'm just checking out for the weekend. You guys can
handle this for the weekend. I'm just nice. I think
I think they're doing stuff today. My wife's in town.
(36:48):
She's here with us, obviously.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
Uh, we take the kids at Disney or something. I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
No, we've done Disney enough. Nor they're gonna go like
mini golf today. And I think my wife and I
are gonna go to dinner, so I'll probably, I guess,
miss some of the game because we'll be a dinner.
But just on the point now where I'm just like,
I might have the phone, like you know, on my lap.
I'll watch the game or something during dinner. She's used
to it by now.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Oh yes, it is the parlay platter. We check one selection,
we pull it together for a greater payout. Crack. We
start with you, what's something you like?
Speaker 5 (38:18):
Very unusual here, I usually don't go with the team total.
We're gonna go with a team total here Arizona Diamondbacks
over three and a half runs in their game. I
just wanted to check out MGM over three and a
half minus fifteen at MGM Arizona Diamondbacks team total over
three and a half.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
All right, interesting? Okay, yeah, well it's funny because I
made this, I think wager multiple times on this parlay platter.
I would do it again today. Yankees over six and
a half runs against the Rockies. The Rockies team total
over for their opponent is the best wager in all
of baseball. It's I can give you just some numbers
(38:56):
right now. The Rockies are averaging at least seven runs
per game over the last ten contest allowing us, including
seven runs per game at this at this home stress.
The Phillies hit this number three out of four games.
The Yankees are now one for one, one in one.
They didn't hit it Game one. They hit it yesterday.
The Rockies pitchers tonight is like he has an ear
ray of like seven. So I like the Yankees over
(39:18):
six and a half runs.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Okay, I can see why. How about the Rockies going
for their first series win this year? They don't have one.
They don't have one series win. They're trying to get
one against the Yankees, so good luck to them. I'm
gonna go with Karl Anthony Towns. Give me over a
twenty one and a half points here today. Jeff brought
this up. He didn't play a lot in the fourth
(39:40):
quarter last game in favor of Mitchell Robinson, which did
not work at all. It was a terrible adjustment by Tibbs.
That's not gonna happen here today. This is do or
die for the Knicks, and Karl Anthony Towns has scored
well in this series outside of not playing in Game two,
so I look for him to have his playing time
go up. This This is about plus five forty two,
(40:02):
this parlay platter. So hey, good luck to you all.
We get to nis and bricks and pacers and worksters
coming up. Oh, we got the Indy five hundred and
we've got Pacers hosting the Knicks in Game three in
the same city of Indianapolis. Big day, Big day in
Indy here. We're all fired up for it. So here's
(40:23):
the question, simple question. Do the Knicks have a realistic
shot of coming back and winning the series? Jeff, we
start with you, what do you think about that?
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Well, I'm not a math person. I didn't do very
well in math, but I think I'm right on this.
The Nicks have to win four next five games to
win the series. That I have that math correct, right,
seems unlikely. I don't know how else to put it
other than that it seems very unlikely for that to happen.
(40:57):
I don't really see a path for that can certainly happen, right,
we know that, I mean, right now, the Pacers on
bet MGM minus five point fifty to win the series. Look.
Game one obviously should have gone to the Knicks and
disappointed myself for going to sleep, but I mean, still
(41:19):
be it they I went to bed it was one
nineteen one eight was shocked by the final result. But
the Pacers have done that this year right where they've
they've set records. I mean they had three wins this
year down multiple points, you know, in the final minute
and seven points or more and have come back. And
it was in the history of the NBA, it was
like one to nine hundred had ever come back, and
(41:41):
the Pacers have done three of those in this postseasons.
But that's the truth, does it? They're down to nothing?
Knicks are You could say what you wanted about Game one,
they should have could have done it. But four out
of five feels like a really tough ask for the
Knicks and the Pacers. You know, I think they played
better defense, which is shocking to say for the most
(42:01):
part that the Knicks do, Brian. The Knicks have a
tougher time getting shots. The Pacers have a better flow
on offense at least through two games. And yeah, game
one the Knick shot lights out and still lost. And
you can't. You can't lose those games. You just crack
you to win a series. It's a seven game series.
You cannot lose a game at home where you were
(42:22):
up eleven points with a minute left or whatever it was,
a minute thirty left. It's unacceptable, and that's why they're
gonna lose the series. And yeah, can they win tonight? Absolutely,
the games have been pretty close through the first forty
five minutes of the game, forty six to forty minutes.
Absolutely they can. They can win the series. But I mean,
win a game or two. But you're on the road,
(42:42):
and how the math is not good. You gotta win
three what you probably have to win well at least
two road games, right, Brian, you have to win two
road games to make this happen. Feels like a tough task.
Speaker 5 (42:54):
Yeah, you know, the Pacers snuck out that game one
or that's that game one victory collapse by the next
you know, some of the other shows I do, people
were now they're gambling, just gambling shows. We don't talk
about anything else that for gambling. And people are saying
it was the worst beat in their life betting the
(43:14):
money line that on that game. You know, when we're
in the moment, we always think we lost and it's
the worst beat of all time.
Speaker 4 (43:22):
It may be.
Speaker 5 (43:22):
Yeah, no, it's definitely a If you have the money
line in that game and down double digits with with
you know, literally up double digits with two minutes left,
sure that's gonna be the worst, one of the worst
beats of the year. I don't know about your life,
but it could be. Like I said, we live in
the moment and people just say, oh my god, that
you know, and that was the second or third leg
of their parlay. Oh my god, it was that we
(43:44):
had the money so anyway, epic collapse. But the next
they just really controlled the fourth quarter and the Pacers
and to go up in game two to nothing on
the road. Now they go and now the nixts go
to Indiana. The Pacers just look like the better role
around team at this point. They had six guys in
double figures last game and just had so many different
(44:07):
options that they can beat you with.
Speaker 4 (44:10):
The Knicks, on the other hand.
Speaker 5 (44:11):
Run pretty much everything through Brunts, and it's that simple.
If he's not playing at the top level, then the
Knicks just aren't really winning games. He really just seemed
worn out by the end of last game, and they
just didn't have another good ball handler that can give
him this some rest. So the pressure is all on Brunts.
And I think the Knicks can win a game in Indiana.
I just don't know if they can come back and
(44:32):
win the whole series at this point. But the Pacers
are just a better coached team, let's just say, top
to bottom, So we'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
Yeah, that's that's what it comes down to. Is you
could sit here and play all these games of well,
it's technically not over, and they technically do have a chance, yeah,
but a realistic shot of winning the series winning four
of the next five games, they don't have a realistic
shot of doing that. Like, think about everything that's going
against the Knicks. You guys, have mentioned Game one, and
(45:02):
that really was crushing for the Knicks. It's not just
dropping a game. It's like Jeff said, it's a game
that you shot great in and you had this huge lead.
You had a ninety nine point seven percent chance of
winning the game. It was it was such a big lead.
You guys would laugh at this. I had just this
little in game bet on the Pacers to win the game.
(45:23):
At some point in the second half. I'm like, I'll
put a double saw on it. You know, I just
put like twenty five bucks, So I guess it's double
saw in a half. Is that right?
Speaker 4 (45:32):
Saw plus? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (45:33):
Right, yeah, double saw plus plus. So on a twenty
five dollars bet, it looked so bad bet MGM offered
me a cash out of three cents. That's a true
story like that. That's how much the Knicks were ahead.
So to lose a game when you have a fourteen yeah,
three sets, you had a fourteen point lead with under
three minutes to go, you had a nine point lead
(45:55):
in the final minute and you blew it. That's crushing.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
And then on top of it, you look at the Pacers.
They've been outstanding on the road in the playoffs this year,
they're six and one. They're ten and two overall. They
smacked around the Calves with the best record in the East,
like they were a bottom feeder. So Bucks, it was
a gentleman series. This gentlemen's sweep Calves, it was a
gentleman's sweep. They've got real depth. Their quick pace is
(46:23):
given the Knicks fits. And then there's this. There's history
that goes against the Knicks. So here's the list of
teams in NBA playoff history that came back from an
two series hole in the conference finals. This is after
losing the first two games at home. That would be nobody.
Nobody has ever done it. So you have all that
(46:43):
against the Knicks, like they're cooked. They might win game three,
it wouldn't shock me at all, but they're cooked in
the series. Man, it's done.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
What's more likely you guys think, did we get to
game six or there's a sweep? I think it sweeps
more likely.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
I think a sweep is more likely.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
Yeah, it just it. It feels like like today the
Pacers team total, I think it is one thirteen and
a half. I can update that They've that feels like
a play Brian I've just been so bad in some
of these wagers where I keep crack every time I
make a prop wager, I get just it's it just
as miserable I've I've got a I just have I
(47:19):
think today I'm just like I'm not. I'm just not
doing it like I again, I had knowledge me yesterday.
Over eleven and a half points, you get ten the first
half and zero in the second half. It's like, I
can't keep doing this to myself. I but the Pacers
team total over feels like a spot to B Brian
where you're you're back at home. Even if you shoot
poorly to start the game, you're probably not going to
be terrible all game. You basically have gotten anything you've
(47:41):
ever wanted. You know, if holle Burn gets gives you
a little more in the twenties again, like this is
a game where you know your role players. That's pertably
one twelve and a half right now minus one fifteen
you get throw one thirteen and a half plus one hundred.
They've been this number, I believe, every playoff game but one,
the one game they lost to the Caves role players.
(48:01):
You know they played better at home, so you look,
but the role plays have played well on the road too,
Like you know, we talk about a zig zag wagering
and hard to find a zig zag spot for a
pacer tonight. They all played well in game in New York.
But you know, typically again like you know, your your
niece Miths, your Nemhartz, your Miles Turners, they play I'll
be topping as a guy. I think targeting if you're
looking for a player probably only four points in game
(48:22):
two plays much better at home, even McCall at ten
points in game two. And so I think that the
team's total over for the Pacers tonight is the way
to play this game if you're not comfortable with a side,
uh in this one, because I think the Pacers are
gonna are going to get over and get maybe in
the one twentiest range.
Speaker 2 (48:41):
I'm just make sense. They're gonna play fast, yeah yeaheah.
Speaker 5 (48:44):
One twelve and a half one one eleven and a
half for the for New York. So uh and you know,
I got to tell you it may be a way
to attack the game. Is the team total So again,
you guys know me, I really don't bet too many
NBA sides took a lot of took a lot of
heat the other day on Twitter one of the other
shows I did talking about how NBA sides are unbeatable,
(49:06):
and you know, I just long term, you know, I
just know for the listening audience that listens to shows,
that watch shows, it's gonna be really tough for you
to win betting NBA sides long term, not any one game,
any maybe you can even run good for a season.
I've been around the sharpest sports betting syndicates of all time,
(49:29):
of all time, and I just know they do not
dabble on NBA sides. Now, listen, There's a guy that
I know personally, we follow each other. He's known as
Harla Bob Vulgaris and Bob and I have known him
for about twenty years. Absolutely one of the best NBA
betters of all time. Bob is worth hundreds and hundreds
(49:52):
and hundreds of millions of dollars. He's very, very wealthy,
doesn't flaunt it, doesn't show it. But you know, Bob
beat the NBA for years. He bet but he beat
them on first half and second half totals, game totals
and the rare side also. But totals is where he
made his money. So some of these people came after
(50:13):
me saying that that's not the case. And if a
line opens and it moves and it settles at a
different number, that means someone is beating it. Yes, okay, great,
maybe there is an originator that's beating the number because
only one or two sportsbooks put the numbers up. But
for the listening and viewing audience, I just tell them
to attack the games, just like maybe Jeff and Brian
(50:36):
just said on team totals, first half totals, game totals,
and of course more than anything, proposition bets. That's all
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
I don't think I've made how many NBA plouciins we had.
I mean to make a pre flop, like before the
game wager on a side, a full game side. There
wasn't mine. Like we joke about other people in our
uniforests that have that. I just fade. So I've made
those wagers and they end up going well at times.
(51:06):
But like my own personal like side side twice, I
just this, I played first quarter. I'll play probably Pacers
first quarter today. Back at home. We talked about this
a lot, Brian and I mean the Pacers they're starting
five starts fast like they are very good. In the
first quarter back at home today, I took the Walls
first quarter yesterday, figured they start fast down oh two
(51:26):
and the cash. I would take games live. I took
the Pacers plus points sure in Game two in the
middle like in the I think I Brian, I text
all game like in the in the middle of the
third quarter, I was like, this is the Pacers aren't
even playing that well. Hallyburn has nothing right now. I'm
gonna take the four and a half or five, which
is what it was pre flop. I mean, guys got
the number that was before the game crack. But I'll
(51:47):
go in game if I think the third NBA sides,
I mean, yeah, they just one team might shoot and
hit fifty percent of their threes and that's the end
of the game. And that you just don't have even
a change.
Speaker 5 (51:58):
Both of you guys, really, both of you guys don't
really use NBA sides too often in your parlay platters
or your game selections. At the end, the more I
think about it, you don't really use the side.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
Why would if I don't know how you can confidently
pick the side today, I again the Knicks are down
O two, they can come out and play the best
game of their season, knowing the season on their line,
and win this game. We see happen all the time.
The Calves did it in Game three last series to
the Pacers. The Pacers could just not shoot well to
(52:30):
for whatever reason, they just don't shoot well tonight. But
it's totally possible to the NBA and the Knicks or
the Pacers play really great. The Knicks just sort of
do what the Knicks doing. The Pacers cover. I don't
know how you can give me unless you have you
people obviously have their numbers and spreadsheets and whatnot. But
just like from a basketball angle, hard to convince me
either way, Brian, that one team's gonna cover one team's
(52:52):
not right now and now the in game, you grab
the Pacers plus five and a half six points, they
get down early or they get down to I'm into that,
but right now, I don't know how you can confidently
give me a side that's gonna cover this game.
Speaker 2 (53:05):
Yeah, and it's it goes back to the famous Mike
Tyson saying, right, everybody has a plan until they get
punched in the mouth. And the same thing holds true
in sports betting because think about it, we always talk
about the zig zag approach and a lot of times
it pays off every now and then, it doesn't. You
think about game one, the Knicks let one just fall
through their fingertips, right, they had the game in hand,
(53:28):
They're up by nine points in the final minute and
they lost. It's this legendary buzzer beating game tying shot
by Tyrese Haliburt and the game goes into overtime. Nicks lose.
Nicks had a chance in overtime to go up six
and it was a layup that was blocked at the rim,
right Like, they had a lead in overtime, and they
still lost that. It was a crushing loss. So you think,
(53:49):
all right, they're coming back in game two, as Lee
Corso says, not so fast, my friend, right they so
they lose that. So you think, okay, Knicks game two,
and it's almost like, yeah, punched in the mouth if
you backed the Nicks in that spot. So now all
of a sudden, you're like, what do I do for
Game three? It is it's a tough call in this
spot here, So you got to look for other opportunities
(54:12):
and like Jeff is saying, crack two. Oftentimes, if you
don't bet the game before it starts, just go in game.
You're gonna get a better number. Sometimes you get a
much better number on either side. So I would just wait.
Every now and then, Yeah, some team wins from wire
to wire and you just don't get that good opportunity.
(54:33):
But oftentimes you're gonna get a better number in game.
I think it's a better way to go when you're
looking at a side, especially in a spot like Game
three tonight, right, I'd much rather go in game. If
I'm thinking of a side.
Speaker 3 (54:44):
I'm with you, and so you know, that's I think
the way to play some of these NBA games. And look,
there's other opportunities like this too and WNBA. Some of
these favorites have been getting out to slow starts the
last couple of days. I've I hit the Aces live,
I hit the Links live. There's opportunities, I think live
to play a lot of these games in basketball, women's
(55:06):
and men's because you know, again, the better team, if
you're a fifteen point favorite, you're probably gonna win in
the end, you know, And there's ways to obviously play
that and make some money off of some of those
wagers in the game. But you have to be off
I say this all the time, this disclaimer about end game.
You got to be sort of watching the game to
(55:27):
wager in game. You can't just look at the box
score and decide to wager. That's a recipe for disaster.
And so if you if you're not watching the game
and you look at your phone, you're, oh, how's waiter
down ten? How's that possible? I'm taking the other side.
I think you got to watch the game crack to
wager live. That's my personal opinion. Otherwise you're just wagering blindly,
(55:48):
which feels like a really bad place to be.
Speaker 5 (55:51):
And you guys are kind of bit professional. So you've
been around, you've been around the gambling game, you've been
around me. I something else I said the vsin I said, listen,
I don't even recommend live wagering for anyone because they
can't control themselves. It's closet ambling. You're doing it, no
one knows you're doing it. You're not buying into the table,
(56:12):
you're not playing slots in front of people. But like
in other words, I'll ask both of you guys, is
so if you bet a live bet Indiana, they're down
by eight and a half, and you bet a live
bet and now you're you're you know you're getting four
or getting five. Well, now if it goes to twelve,
are you re betting it again plus seven?
Speaker 3 (56:34):
Uh? Crack. I prefer not to divulge my live wagering strategy.
Speaker 5 (56:39):
The greatest thing you've ever said on the show.
Speaker 3 (56:41):
If I if I made zero live wagers ever, i'd probably.
Speaker 9 (56:46):
Uh, thank you for being a lot more money. Thank
you for being transparent. That's what I mean is it's
not great. It's now I'm in California. I can't really
live wager because so like this, I'm saving money while
I'm here.
Speaker 5 (56:59):
Sure it just I thank you for being honest.
Speaker 3 (57:05):
I almost never live wager in football. I guess think
about about other sports like football, I make my wager
and I'm just like I win or lose. I mean
like I don't want to lose, obviously, and I only
I only live wager. Like in one situation like college
football home favorites losing, I'm like, yeah, they're probably gonna
come back, Like I'll take the home favorite. That's it.
(57:26):
Live would not baseball, I don't do baseball but basketball,
hockey like stuff like that. I might do it, but
a lot of it's just basketball, like you know you
and again like I think basketball is just so hard.
College basketball and March madness again the football don't do
it very much baseball and now almost never live wager.
I mean, I'm you know, Rockies get up two runs
(57:48):
today and I can get the Yankees, like I don't know,
one fifty maybe, I mean yesterday the Rockies. I buddy
of mine sent me a text he was on the
Rockies plus four yesterday and minus one twenty wow plus
four wow, mine is one. They lost my ten, so
you eat it with wager like I lost my twelve.
(58:08):
But like that that Yeah, I I would be better
if I never live wagered. I'll be honest. I don't
know about you, Brian. It doesn't make me any money.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
Yeah, it's well, it's it's tough, right, like there are
great spots, but I think it's really it's like you
always talk about casual drinking. You know, like if you're
a casual drinker, that's probably good. You don't want to
do cake stands every day, you know, you don't want
to get drunk, every single day. I think it's like
live wagering. If you're a social drinker and dabble in
live wagering, it can be profitable. But if you're just
(58:38):
hammering it, like a lot of times, the best time
to back a team is the grossest spot, right, Like
we were talking about the Lynx game yesterday. We're NBA
w NBA sikos over here, crack Jeff and I, but
we're talking about, hey man, maybe you know, maybe the
sun are gonna cover the spread in reverse, you know,
(59:00):
like they had a big fourth quarter leaf and that
that's the perfect time. Immediately when you say that or
send that text, that's the grossest spot and the best
time to back the links. I did, And that's live
betting in a nutshell like oftentimes.
Speaker 3 (59:14):
The links too. I did the links too. I did it.
Speaker 2 (59:17):
I didn't, but that that was the time. Looking back,
I'm like, that was the perfect time to back the
links when you're like, oh gosh, they're gonna get blown
out here today and they came every now. They look
at last night, look at last night's Timberwolves game. If
you're thinking, okay, all right, this is where you know,
OKC plus thirty four and a half is the play.
It's like, Nope, it wasn't is not the play, so
(59:40):
that they can go the other way too.
Speaker 3 (59:41):
That's a I know we got a break, but last
That's a very interesting point you make, because often feel
that way about live wagering, where it's like, wait, this
team's going to cover the twelve and a half, like
there's no way they're not, and they lose by twenty seven.
Like that happens all the time where the other the
other side is the right side in a game where
just the other team just not good, And that happens
in sports where the other team's just not good and
(01:00:02):
you think there's no way, there's no way, and I've
lost a lot of money doing the no way wager
and Mike and the best bet often is the opposite
of the no way. They're going to not cover this wager.
Speaker 2 (01:00:13):
That's right. Yeah, it's crazy. It plays mind games on you.
That's why you gotta dabble, because if you're relying on
that day in and day out, that's a tough way
to be in the red, you know what I'm saying.
That's not easy, or to be in the black. You
want to be in the black, not the red all right,
We've got Bill Bill Krackenberger. Was that Bill Schwartz? Bill Schwartz,
(01:00:33):
it's time. You know, we're a little over, so we're
trying to we're trying to cut down on time. Here
we've got a Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz,
eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian No. It is time
for the tire Rack play of the day.
Speaker 4 (01:00:47):

Speaker 7 (01:00:50):
Reflow elevated Dechne thirteen to seven and target center is
rocking and rolling.
Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
Follow the money, real good money.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
That's right, our good man. Christian Sippolini, bet MGM trading manager,
joins us here. Good morning, Christian. Okay, if you're looking
at the NBA Conference Finals, what would be ideal for
you guys at bet MGM. Right, like Crack always says,
God protects the bookmakers, so a lot of betters would
like to align themselves with the book maker. So what
(01:02:25):
would be ideal not just finals matchup, but maybe the
length of each series. Is there anything that's an ideal
scenario for you guys?
Speaker 8 (01:02:35):
Yeah, So I'll start with a thunderside of things because
that's the team for us that has been one of
the best outcomes throughout this entire season. They've been a
favorite throughout. But that low price point, even though they
have taken a lot of bets of us, has been
ideal from our standpoint of well, you know, I guess
some of it plays into that at Oklahoma City, a
(01:02:56):
little bit of small market. We're not live in Oklahoma City,
so all of those types of things that really helped
us in Oklahoma City is our best outcome by far,
and then the one that surprises me is our next
best outcome. And on the east side of things is
the New York Knicks. I've been stunned on how few
bets we've taken on the Knicks throughout this playoffs. Even
if I go back to that Boston series, we weren't
(01:03:18):
taking a ton of Next Action even after Tatum's injury. Wow,
there was a lot of people that thought that they
might come back there. And then even in this Pacers
Next series, through games one and two, we've taken more
Pacers money in both of those games so far. So
this game Game three so far is looking a little
bit different. As of right now, we're taking more Knix money,
(01:03:39):
So maybe it's finally starting to turn around. But if
we could get a k next thunder, that would be perfect.
And if it were to be the next at this point,
seven would be where we wanted to go because getting
more games so it is always better for us.
Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
So after last night's game, we're obviously the Wolves down two.
They were at home, but they played well. Are you
seeing a shift this morning and people thinking the Knicks
maybe can can emulate what the Wolves is? Obviously the
Nicks are on the road, but two team desperate for
a win. Are you seeing people this morning come in
on the Knicks.
Speaker 8 (01:04:12):
Yeah, so we have and like I said, games one
and two was more Pacers money even though patients are
on the road so far throughout today. You know, we
had a long time til tipoffs, but we have taken
a lot more Knicks money. So I guess there's a
lot of people out there with that same tut of
the Knicks can't possibly go down three, especially losing the
first two at home. And our buddy Seamus is on
the guys on Saturday. He's a huge Knicks fan. He
(01:04:35):
flew down to Indy for his game three, so hoping
that he doesn't have to watch a nightmare any buddy.
Speaker 5 (01:04:43):
You know I said earlier, you guys are like the
only ones that have a two and a half on
this game. So now that I'm hearing you guys have
more Knicks money on the game, will you possibly go
to the two which is almost everywhere and uniformly because
you're actually taking more or nixt money on this game.
Though I thought it was the opposite you at the
(01:05:04):
two and a half because of everyone was betting Indiana
and you had to move to two and a half.
I didn't see which way you opened and which way
you know it went, but two and a half, Like
I said, you guys are the only ones with that
two and a half, So what do you think is
gonna happen here in this game?
Speaker 8 (01:05:18):
Yeah, and not only that, there's probably a good chance
that will end up going to one and a half.
I think at least one or two out there of
that number two. So yeah, we probably will, And especially
the fact that we're already taking more next money, there's
probably not too much sense of us as staying at
this two and a half much longer.
Speaker 5 (01:05:33):
So grab it now, everyone, if you're gonna beta, if
you want to bet MGM.
Speaker 8 (01:05:39):
Before before I get this phone call.
Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
Right Christin in honor of Shamus being at the Indy
five hundred, is there anything that you guys want in
that race? And can you give us an idea of
the handle, like what would you compare it to like
another sport? What are we talking about like in terms
of the handle for the Indy five hundred with you guys.
Speaker 8 (01:06:01):
Yeah, the Indie fact was a tough one just because
it's it is a little bit niche. So you know,
while we will take action, you know, it doesn't end
up being all that significant.
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
You know.
Speaker 8 (01:06:14):
There is also today the F one race Monaco, which
is a good.
Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
One going right now.
Speaker 8 (01:06:19):
That one will end up taking a little bit more.
F one in general ends up being a little bit
more popular. But there's there's two co Favorite Award and
Pau we're looking to kind of avoid award. He's taking
a little bit more bets, but nothing too crazy from
our end.
Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
Quickly, on hockey, the Panthers look like they're going to
get back to the Stanley Cup. It feels like for
the least the least talked about like champion back in
the in the winter circle. Essentially any liability there I mean,
if you had the under last time, I'm very sorry.
That was a miserable way to lose a wager with
with six goals I think scored a third period. But
(01:06:58):
how much liability of on Florida get back to the
Cup and their future results if they can.
Speaker 8 (01:07:02):
Win again, No, and I would say that Florida has
to be the especially if they end up going back
to the Cup here, they'd be three straight for them.
They would have to be the most disrespected team that
I've seen, at least in a betting futures wise. They're
one of our least bet on teams throughout the entire season.
They were, you know, towards the top of the favorites
list all year. They did have a lot of injury
(01:07:22):
problems early on, but yeah, they're by far our best
outcome on the Cup so far, and they really have
been throughout most of the year and the last two
years while they've you know, been going this dominant run
that they've been on, we had really not taken a
ton of bets. So Florida Panthers has been great for
the book. Maybe a little bit of that is the
fact that we're not live in Florida, so we don't
(01:07:43):
get any hometown fans betting them, but yes, they have
been our dream team for three years now.
Speaker 5 (01:07:49):
Christian, give us an example of volume wise on like
tonight's game Sunday Night Indiana and New York, big game
down to nothing. Does the volume on this game? Is
it more than a Sunday night NFL game or is
it less?
Speaker 4 (01:08:06):
Or you know, we really don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:08:08):
As Joe Public's out here, volume wise what the sports
book cuts. I would think it's a ton of volume,
but you're going to answer that question.
Speaker 8 (01:08:16):
Yeah, these are big games, but it is funny just
in comparison of how much football is king here? Is
that Yeah, a massive playoff game gets You're pretty much right.
It is probably about the equivalent of a Sunday night
football game. So it takes a playoff basketball game, a
huge one, just to be the equivalent of a you know,
it's a Jaguars Colts game on a Sunday night.
Speaker 5 (01:08:40):
Right, Yeah, so that's why you wanted to go seven
games though, of course more.
Speaker 8 (01:08:44):
Volume exactly right?
Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
Yeah, good, good.
Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
Deal, thanks, great stuff. Christian has always man, hope you
enjoyed the day. We'll catch you soon.
Speaker 8 (01:08:53):
Yeah, has a great holiday weekend, you too.
Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
Thank you so much. Christian appreciate that. All right, we
go from heavy hitter to heavy hitter from Christian Zippollini
Isaac Lowen Cron. I'll tell you what it's like. I
don't know another Jamaican sprinter superstar, but it's that guy
handing the baton, you know, to our guy, you know,
the infamous, the infamous sprinter. So I Loo you take
(01:09:19):
it from here. Man, Thank you.
Speaker 7 (01:09:20):
And as they said in the movie Three Amigos, something
along the lines of infamous, it's like even more than famous,
guilty is charged. Also guilty is charged. Blowouts in the
Western Conference Finals. Oklahoma City won the first two over
Minnesota by twenty six points and fifteen points. Last night,
in Game three, Minnesota one over Oklahoma City by forty
(01:09:41):
two points one one forty three to one on one.
The Thunder still leads the series two games to one.
Game three of the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night,
the defending Stanley Cup champion in Florida Panthers won at
Carolina six to two for a three games to none lead.
In Major League Baseball, Saturday night, the Phillies over the
Athletics and eleven innings nine to six, a nine game
winning streak. LA Marlins defeat of the Angel sixty two
(01:10:03):
to break the Angel's eight game winning streak. Coming up
today at twelve forty five Eastern the one hundred and
ninth running of the Indianapolis five hundred and as we speak,
a pre race music festival called the Snake Pit is
taking place, and on the Fox TV pre ratio. A
short time ago, Snake Pit correspondent Rob Gronkowski filed the
(01:10:27):
following report, describing the atmosphere.
Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
It is absolutely focus down here right now.
Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
The DJA is going absolute half playing fanners.
Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
Oh very gee, It's absolutely electric.
Speaker 7 (01:10:40):
The ladies are showing the watermelon all please the guys.
Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
I everywhere there's a party. Can I see every party
in the world.
Speaker 9 (01:10:48):
And that's the biggest party passed since what stopped in
nineteen sixty nine?
Speaker 7 (01:10:53):
Impressive considering Gronk was born in nineteen eighty nine. Elsewhere,
one of the spectators making a fashion statement by wearing
Georges along with open toed cowboy boots. I know know
there was such a thing as open toaed cowboy boots,
but when you pair them with George they probably prove irresistible,
(01:11:16):
and other gentlemen adorned in nothing but a speedo and
fanny pack with his chest hair shaved to depict the
number five hundred. This individual also has a mullet hairdoo,
but perhaps you already guessed that. On that note, back
to you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
Thank you ilo. It's Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM.

(01:11:54):
I would hate to be the other famous Jamaican sprinter, right,
Usain Bolt is the main guy. I just looked at it.
If you guys heard of these guys, he's probably like,
like multiple gold winning Jamaican sprinters or decorated. I've never
heard of these people Asafa Powell, Johann Blake. I've heard
of thing you have heard of. That's very good. I'm
(01:12:15):
in the dark on that one. But yeah, I'd hate
to be the other guy. Yeah, big big track guy.
Big Better won a couple of bets on Asafa Powell
throughout the very good.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
I mean, look, organ Man, Tracktown, USA. You gotta have
a little bit of an eye to track. You know
you got the I got a question. I got a
question for you, crack. I don't want to derail the
Jamaican sprinter.
Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Talk are you good?
Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
So?
Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
No? I never did Chris sprint, Christian.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
I could answer that that question there. Christian mentioned the
five hundred and they have basically you know, favorites. That
and pado Award and Paulu are the same, right, plus
four seventy five. I'm in California. We've talked about this
and I can only make wagers on off shores. And
one of my offshores has Polu minus five hundred an
(01:13:00):
Award plus five hundred. Don't I have to take the
plus five hundred if it's miss priced like that? Like
that gives me. I feel like that's an error on
obviously the offshore account. But I feel like I wasn't
gonna bet on it. But now I get that doesn't
make sense, right.
Speaker 5 (01:13:13):
There are so many spots in life that I am
betting on things, but I have no idea I've never
heard they're Like I said it the other day, I said,
you know, if you have six computers. So I'm telling
people about not wagering live if I have six computers
out though, and for let's say, six screens of different
sports books, and I know the sharper algorithms sports books
(01:13:37):
that originate and that are really really good compared to
the slower moving ones here in Las Vegas. I will
bet the bad lines. I'm gonna call it the bad
line because I have to go by what the sharp
line is. It's already skewed at the bad lines to
what the Joe public, especially here in Vegas locals are betting.
So this may be the same case you have here
(01:13:59):
where you're having uh, not not so much of a
bad line. But maybe Joe public's are betting something. Now,
I don't know about a big race like that. But however,
even though it's a big race, I mean, but it's
not a big sport. So but yeah, just just on GP,
just on general. Hartboy sometimes bet somethings.
Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
So I know the award is a favorite for a reason.
I mean, he's raced well this year, but fyone's got
one lap left, hopefully, you got your money on. I
think Varsaffin's winning, of course, of.
Speaker 2 (01:14:26):
Course, oh shocking, Yeah, what was he minus twelve hundred?
Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
Probably? I don't The sport feels like very predictable. People
like watching the like the guy who is in front
to start wins like all the races, right, that's how
it works.
Speaker 2 (01:14:43):
They just it is amazing. Right, what would be the
equivalent in American sports where it would just be I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
He just took a tire though he's gonna lose, he
just went in to the pit to take it. He
had one tire, He got one tire.
Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
Yeah, dominated, It is wild, right, it'd be like that.
I don't know. The chief just dominating, like winning super
Bowl after super Bowl and it's still insanely popular. Like
that's f one, Right, you have dominance, but mass popularity.
It's wild that they can stay that relevant and be
that interesting when there's that much dominance. For Stappan has
(01:15:16):
been the man for a long time. All Right, We've
got Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight year
NFL veteran. I'm Brian No coming up next. Prop it up,
that's right, the prop betting market. We compare copious notes.

this prop it up.
Speaker 1 (01:16:01):
The player plays.
Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
Bob right, the prop betting market crack your specialty. What's
something you like today?
Speaker 5 (01:16:09):
Miles McBride on the next points over six and a half,
play twenty five plus minutes in the first two games.
Is really the only other player besides Bronslon that can
handle the ball Josh Harsh. Josh Hart has been really
bad on offense this series so far, so I could
see McBride getting some points and having some minutes today
and maybe stealing some of his minutes. Must win for
(01:16:31):
the Knicks. As we know, McBride is someone who could
score quick points on the bench, off the bench. So
I'm gonna go over the six and a half minus
fifteen here, McBride.
Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
Be fun to yell deuce if you're on that side.
You know, every time heat jack deuce, you know, hoping
he did. I like that very nice.
Speaker 3 (01:16:49):
I'm gonna give away driette. I know right now I'm
gonna hate myself for but I think that's the right
side that's been bothered me watching this player play today.
But Callie burn over thirty four and a half point
rebounds and assist. He when he doesn't score, at least
he gets rebounds and assist like that's a thing he does.
(01:17:09):
He didn't shoot the ball very well in game two.
He didn't. That's a thing that frustrating. He doesn't try
like shoot the ball. But he was well of his
number in game one Game two he was close. I
think even with fourteen points, he was right at at
thirty somewhere around there. So I like how they burned
over thirty four and a half points, rebounds and assists.
(01:17:31):
And then I also like Yankees team total. I gave
it out earlier. It's a I guess it's a prop.
But over six and a half runs in Colorado today
and I took to take the Pacers first quarter. By
the way, I just think that it's a little a
little bit different than normally. I would normally take the
Nickson this spot. But Pacers back home, they play really
(01:17:52):
well with the first group of players, and it is
minus one oh five to win the first quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
Okay, yeah, it's funny, right, Like Halliburton, I was texting
Jeff within the last week or two. He's a lot
like the Boston Celtics, right, He's very talented, but he's
fully capable of no showing. And it's tough, right, like
either Haliburton can show up where he can make you
look like a genius, or he can make you look
(01:18:22):
like an idiot, like whether you're backing him or fading him.
So but I get it. I get that angle for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:18:29):
All Right.
Speaker 2 (01:18:30):
I'll give you one if you're looking for a trend
to continue, and I'll give you one like a zigzag
spot for player props. So if you're looking for the
trend to continue, Chet Holmgren under eight and a half
rebounds tomorrow night. He's been under every single game and
last night was a blowout, so it playing time was
(01:18:51):
cut down but he's been comfortably under the eight and
a half. He hasn't even gotten to eight in any
of the three games so far this series. You're looking
for a trend to continue, chet Holmgrin under eight and
a half rebounds is a spot. If you're looking for
a zigzag spot, you're gonna have to hold your nose.
But I think this could hit. Benedict Madren over seven
(01:19:13):
and a half points.
Speaker 3 (01:19:14):
Oh yeah for the pollsters.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
Yeah, he did nothing last game. He was scoreless, but
if you look back to game one, he scored nine points.
Back Home role players oftentimes get a little bit of
a boost right there. Home crowd, familiar rims, the whole deal.
If you're looking for a zigzag spot, Benedict Madren over
seven and a half points solid option. Yeah, you going
(01:19:37):
with it? Jeff in California, you gotta I got enough.
I was.
Speaker 3 (01:19:41):
I got a buddy who I can text back East,
who can put in a wager for your boy if needed.
I mean, look at home against Cleveland, scored twenty three.
They got ejected in the next game. So I think
it's a good.
Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
Spot, very nice. All right, Hopefully everything hits coming up next.
Are you in favor of this major your change that's
coming up. Oh good morning, Happy Sat. Sunday to your goodness,
wrong day? Get what the times? No, We've got a
major change. Are you in favor of it that comes

(01:20:34):
dollars back in bonus bets if you don't win your
first bet. Hey, on this Memorial Day weekend, I know
you guys would echo this special thanks to everybody who
has served who is currently serving in the military. It's
funny I just thought about this a minute ago, but
my mom when I was a kid, she had a
like a sticker in one of her car windows that
(01:20:55):
said freedom isn't free, and that always stuck with me
even to this day, especially on a weekend like this.
But there's a price to be paid and to the
men and women who have paid the price or the
ultimate price along the way, we send our ultimate thanks.
Otherwise we wouldn't be able to, you know, talk sports
and goof around today. A lot of people paid a
(01:21:16):
price for us to be able to do that. Absolutely doubt.
Speaker 3 (01:21:20):
The sporting world will certainly do a good job of
communicating that next couple of days, which is which is great.
I'm glad that they take part. It is awesome and
celebrating the Memorial.
Speaker 2 (01:21:28):
Day absolutely well said. Okay, so how about this, guys,
I'm curious college football. So they made a major change
to the playoff format, at least for twenty twenty five.
Who knows how the format is going to be tweaked
in the next couple of years. That's going to be
tweaked a lot, probably more playoff teams. Who knows what
the format it's going to be. But for the twenty
twenty five college Football Playoff, they got rid of the
(01:21:50):
goofy seating, so the way it used to be, buys
were awarded to the top four conference champions and that's
why you had Boise State and Arizona State get a
first round by they won their conferences and you know
there are three and four seeds. Even though Boise State
(01:22:10):
was ranked ninth, they were a three seed. Arizona State
was ranked twelfth and they were a four seed. So
they're not doing that anymore. Now it's gonna be the
top four teams in the Selection Committee's final rankings that
will be seeded one through four, and those teams will
receive the first round byes. I think it makes a
whole lot more sense. You guys in favor of this,
(01:22:31):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
It just seems like the system always changes after Oregon
gets a short end of the stick. Yeah right, yeah, no,
like it's just like the BCS. You know, the first
year of the fourteen playoff, Oregon would have been in
a one BCS game and would have played and would
have won because Ohio State member was four that year,
(01:22:51):
it would beat Organ the championship game. That was the
first year of the fourteen playoff. The previous iteration of that,
Oregon would have been Florida State won a championship or Alabama.
That didn't happen. Now this year, I don't think Oregon
would have been Ohio State, but we would have lost
them after a couple of playoff wins in the new
format and Brian, your Irish get the best of any
(01:23:13):
of this. They don't have to join a conference and
can have a first round by now, which is the
thing which was the reason, the reason that they were
basically punished is the wrong word, but it sort of
is the right way to talk about it. They were
punished for not joining a conference by not being able
to have a buye right, because the system that was
put in place was a was a buy for the
(01:23:36):
conference champion, no name, it's not in a conference. They
didn't have to be a conference champion, and now they
get to have a They get the best of both
worlds not joining a conference, which they which they don't
want to do, and now they get to have a
buy And if you look at the format again, Oregon
is probably in at least a national semi final or
championship game. In the new format, they would have played
(01:23:58):
the winner of Indiana Boise State, I think in round one,
which they would have been that team. And so look,
it is what it is. I think this is a
better decision. I think it's a better process, which is
important here. Last year was way to punishing for organ
to have to play Ohio State essentially in the first
(01:24:18):
quarterfinal game. What I think is actually the most interesting
about this new format is what it's going to do
to conference championship games, because there's already talked now about
the SEC in the Big Ten, specifically of turning conference
championship weekend into basic playing games where the top two
(01:24:41):
seeds are not going to play in conforence championship weekend,
which again with a new format, is a big deterrent, right,
Like why in the old format, you win the conference
championshi game, you get a buye. That was an incentive.
Now you could be thirteen and oh or a guesst
twelve and oh lose your conference championship game and drop
out of having a buy which, you know, like that's
just it. Nonetheless, that is interesting to me. We're crack.
(01:25:03):
They're now thinking about playing three four, five, three six,
five four to the next four teams is basically playing
games to which I think is a better format. Honestly, Brian,
you go twelve to zero in a regular season, you
should just get a bye. I mean, that's it's a
really tall task.
Speaker 8 (01:25:23):
You know.
Speaker 5 (01:25:23):
What's interesting to me, I've seen this poll on Twitter,
the top five mafia sayings, and Jeff uses a couple
of them.
Speaker 3 (01:25:32):
Just do what do I use?
Speaker 4 (01:25:35):
This is exactly what Johnson?
Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
So, John Fox, my first coach with the Panthers, what's
that that all the time? It is what it is
like you just you know you have to accept it.
Speaker 5 (01:25:45):
And the second one was what was it when you
when you when something wrong goes something goes wrong and
you pat him on the back, you give him a hug,
and you say, what do you gotta do.
Speaker 8 (01:26:02):
It?
Speaker 3 (01:26:03):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
A couple of.
Speaker 5 (01:26:05):
These what are you gonna do? I mean then then
I know he's watched the Sopranos. But anyway, we talked
about this last year a lot during the playoffs, and
I'm glad they made this change. The top four seed
should just be the top four rated teams. Conference champs
are not. I think the college football Playoffs was a
success last year and will even be better this year
(01:26:25):
with this small change. So I would still like to
see it go to sixteen teams with no buys, but
we'll have to wait at least another year for that.
Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
That's coming very fast. It's gonna happen immediately. I mean,
they can't do it, I think for one more year
before the TV. The the thing too about the playoff, Brian,
that's really interesting to me. So the NFL this year
is going to be watched on like before normal networks, right,
you know Disney, right, I mean ESPN, ABC has one,
(01:26:55):
and then CBS, NBC, Fox of course, then there's gonna
be Peacock and Netflix and Amazon and YouTube TV like
eight different but I mean it's correct, right, eight platforms
essentially where you can find the NFL College wile Playoff
is run by one network. I am like surprised that
college football has not farmed out now. Of course last
(01:27:16):
year they TNT or Turner Sports license a couple of
the games and they were able to put them on
their network. But I'm surprised with the expansion of the playoff.
We have not heard that Fox wants in again. Fox
has the big they have big new Kickoff. NBC has
a primetime game every Saturday night. Now, CBS obviously has
moved over to out of the SEC. But they're all
(01:27:39):
they're all covering the sport, all have their own games.
I'm surprised that culleturable playoff has not been farmed out
yet to competitive everyone will make more money if other
networks were involved in showcasing these games, and selfishly is
a Fox Sports employee, I would love us to have
some culturable playoff games.
Speaker 2 (01:27:55):
No, that's a great point. Like imagine the NFL doing
it like college football or the NBA. Think about all
the different spots you're gonna be able to watch NBA
games next year. They're all over the place, and it'd
be weird to be like, all right, NBA is just
on NBC, that's it. Or the NFL just on Fox,
that's it. No one else. ESPN doesn't have it. No
(01:28:17):
one to just go to Fox watch all your NFL.
It'd be weird, right, But that's what we have with
college football. It's a great point.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
Even the bowl games, there are only two bowl games.
I'll give you guys trivia. There's two bowl games that
are not on ESPN or ABC. Do you know the
two bowl games?
Speaker 2 (01:28:33):
The two bowl games that are not on ESPN or ABC. Okay,
there's one is CBS has like the Cotton Bowl or something. Well,
is that right?
Speaker 3 (01:28:43):
They have the Sun Bowl. They have the Sun NBS
has the Sun Bowl. Yes, I have played in the
Sun Bowl. Very actually underrated bowl gamel pastor that take
Great Care of You is one other game that's not
an on ESPN platform, Disney platform.
Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
I don't know, can you come up with it? Crack?
I know the Sun Bowl. I don't know if I
could come up with the other one. Off the top
of my head. I do miss the poland Weed Eater.
Speaker 3 (01:29:02):
Bowls that the Holiday Bowls on Fox.
Speaker 2 (01:29:05):
Holiday Bowl is on Fox.
Speaker 4 (01:29:07):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:07):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
What do we have? Was it Syrahcuse and Wazoo last
one of the last times?
Speaker 4 (01:29:13):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:29:13):
Is it Holly Ball?
Speaker 2 (01:29:14):
I think yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
I kind of ra Organ played in a couple of
years ago, but Fox always has has that. It was
last year. I think it was one of the games
I was on. This is the Bull Bull Seas. I'll
tell you what, man, there's there's some CLV. I had Syracuse.
I think I had Syracuse like minus twelve. It closed
it like nineteen because the entire state team wasn't born
(01:29:35):
on their coaches. All their coaches were gone. Yeah, and
I think Wazoo covered the closing number but didn't cover
the opening number or something. I think it was like
five and it closed at twelve or thirteen or fourteen.
It was. It was something crazy like that. Ball season
is is yeah as wild, but.
Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
Some of those matchups are insane.
Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
I liked what they did for college football. I think
it makes sense, Brian, Yeah, I do. And you know
I've been digging it up to totals now were getting
close to I can't wait, Oh balls coming soon, guys.
I like some some win totals that we can talk
about coming up here.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
Well that's the thing too, when you look at the seeding,
there might be a tendency to be like, well, you
would have this matchup would be the same, that matchup
would be the same. You look at what isn't different.
I think you got to look at what is different.
Speaker 4 (01:30:20):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:30:21):
Oregon is a great example. Oregon was ranked number one.
They were the only undefeated team in college football. They're
the number one seed in the playoff and their reward
quote unquote was facing Ohio State in their first game.
And it was just weird how the rankings worked out,
where you know, Ohio State is ranked sixth, but they're
(01:30:42):
an eight seed, so eight played one and that Meanwhile
Penn State, Penn State was ranked fourth, but they're a
sixth seed. The way it worked out, and they played
SMU in the first round, followed by Boise State. Boise
State because they were ranked ninth, but they were a
(01:31:03):
three seed. So it's like, how does Penn State get
Boise State in the second round while Oregon gets Ohio
State in this It should not be like that at all?
Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
Who we beat Penn State in the big time championship game?
There you go quickly, Brian, I don't get the Penn
State love this year. Ain gonna lie. I don't understand it.
Penn State right now if you look at at polls
and previews, as you know, they're number one in some
polls ending in the season. What's that time Penn State
won a big football I don't I don't consider beating
(01:31:35):
Boise State. I'm sorry, and smu at home like games
Penn State? Should they always win those games? One of
the James Franklin by the way, I mean he's a
favorite of between seven and like twenty two points. Is
like has the spread? They always win those games? Always
win those games? I think it's lily how about this legit?
Like James Franklin, I mean when he's a favorite of
between seven, it's like twenty or nineteen points. I think, Brian,
(01:31:57):
he's something like twenty and one covering the spread like
they cover the spread as a favorite all the time.
What they don't do is beat anyone that they're that
they're not supposed to beat. How can you put I
just understand them being the best team in the country
when they when let's last big game, like, I get it,
you won two playoff games, but against against their name,
(01:32:18):
like a real team, you lost. You lost Ohio State.
What do you happen? Do you lose the hosted every
single season when you beat lost to Oregon this year
in the Big Ten championship game. So that's gonna bother
me all year. I don't know if I can fade
them because their schedule is pretty easy. They do get
Organ at home and end of September, and that's a
tough game for Organ. I think Penn State might go
(01:32:38):
thirteen to oh and not be the best team in
the country though.
Speaker 2 (01:32:41):
Right, Yeah, Well it's the small game James thing. The
reason why you.
Speaker 5 (01:32:46):
See that I'm quiet and I'm I'm betting. I just
got a weird text from someone I really respect in
the business. Of course, pet MGM. Of course pet MGM
offers this, Why wouldn't they I was like, wait, first
three innings.
Speaker 3 (01:32:59):
Yeah, do first three innings.
Speaker 4 (01:33:01):
So he said, this.
Speaker 5 (01:33:02):
Game starts in fifteen minutes. Twenty minutes thunderbolts on lightning.
Uh so yeah, it starts in twenty minutes. So I'm
sorry to give out a game when I'm not supposed to,
right in the middle of talking about stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
How dare you practice?
Speaker 4 (01:33:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:33:16):
No, give it out. Everyone wants to hear.
Speaker 4 (01:33:18):
That they are.
Speaker 5 (01:33:18):
It's at BETAMGM Detroit Cleveland under two and a half
first three innings. I'll be betting right now. But I probably,
to be real blunt, I probably didn't realize they offered that. Yeah,
And of course Brian Jeff knows right away.
Speaker 4 (01:33:36):
Of course they offered.
Speaker 3 (01:33:37):
I know that the first I know that because a
buddy I was we were I was joking about the
Pirates total with a buddy. The schemes total was six
and a half the other day. Actually went under first
five over for the full game, but he said he
was on under one and a half, one and a
half for the first three innings. That's how I knew, right,
Otherwise I didn't know that. A couple of days I.
Speaker 5 (01:33:56):
Just spent under two and a half minus a dollar
sixty on bet MGM. Game starts in twenty minutes, and.
Speaker 3 (01:34:03):
I don't I don't think I had the opportunity to
old Los Angeles.
Speaker 4 (01:34:09):
But anyway, sorry, guy.
Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Are you under crack under two and a half two
and a.
Speaker 5 (01:34:13):
Half minus a dollar sixty at bet MGM? And you
know I'd never bet a first three any line, so
I had to like, Look, I was like, where can
this possibly be? That's why I was going, you have
to hit spreads, go to the game, hit spreads, I'm sorry,
hit totals, and then you could slide the little top
bar under first three, under first five, or under first seven.
(01:34:36):
So I didn't even know they had that, to be honest, way,
I thought we just had full game and first five.
So we have first three. But the even even stranger
point is a guy that's a winning better that I
really respect just sent me the under and I would
have saved it to the end of the show. But
the game starts to eat thirty five am. So there's
(01:34:57):
a breaking thing in the middle of the show.
Speaker 4 (01:34:59):
Here.
Speaker 5 (01:35:00):
Yeah, a little little action for you guys that need action.
Door in the door in the show and Jeff over
there apologizer in l A and uh let me.
Speaker 3 (01:35:09):
I got it. You said, what was the juice on that?
Speaker 5 (01:35:12):
No, no, no, it's over.
Speaker 4 (01:35:13):
No, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 5 (01:35:14):
Under under three, under two and a half runs first
three innings minus a dollar sixty.
Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
Yeah, I mean, I gotta, I gotta. I got a
buddy back. I might text that too, Cleveland.
Speaker 5 (01:35:27):
True. Yeah, you know what I'm looking at the first five.
It's only three and a half. Now, wait a second, something,
something doesn't sound right. Then if it's first three, all right,
that's why you're laying the dollar sixty. I guess I
would rather go under two and a half first three
than under three and a half and lay the juice.
Speaker 3 (01:35:48):
Schoobls on the mountain. That's why I think.
Speaker 5 (01:35:50):
Right schools schools then yeah, yeah, Google today all right, Well, hey,
breaking bets in the middle, Well, that's what we're paid
to do.
Speaker 4 (01:35:59):
Though.
Speaker 5 (01:35:59):
I mean, I told these I remember telling Scott and
Don the beginning, when I was first on the FaceTime,
when all those guys, I said, listen, you guys want
me on Sunday morning, I'll be real blunt. There's gonna
be bets I'll be making right in the middle of
the show. I'm probably gonna give him out, like right
in the middle of the show, and they said great, great,
And you know, don Dom was a little bit more
against the sports betting. He's not he doesn't come from
(01:36:22):
that background, and so I think he was like, I
don't know if this is how this is gonna work,
but I'm being pressured and bet mgm' sponsoring. Okay, okay,
well let me tell you something. I think it's went fantastically.
I think it's exactly what bet MGM probably wants. They
want more volumes, so we're gonna show them. Maybe they
don't want more of my volume, but they are taking
(01:36:45):
my bets. And you know, I'll be blunt. I had
a lot of money. I put a lot in bet MGM,
and boy did I four x five x the money
and they have beaten me back for about I'm still
up some money on them, but they beating me back
so niless. To say what I'm trying to say.
Speaker 4 (01:37:03):
Preseason football can't get here fast.
Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
There you go. They were like the they were like
the you're like okac in the first two games, and
bet MGM was like the Timberwolves last night, you know,
became charging right the way it goes, No doubt can't
wait for preseason action for sure. By the way, to
put a bow on the mob Talk. You know you
mentioned the phrases right there. I sent this to you, guys.
(01:37:27):
I can't believe this is a real title. It's too perfect.
So I was just like going through the channels last night.
This is on v H one, and I just saw
on the guide it says Mob Wives, forgive and forget
about it. You talk about a title of a show,
are you kidding? Whoever came up with that. They deserve
a raise, They should be promoted. That is top shelf.
(01:37:49):
That is tremendous right there.
Speaker 5 (01:37:50):
Send me the bull. Gravano's daughter on that show. I'm
not a fan of hers, by the way, not a
fan of his either, but uh yeah, no. It was
a big show that was on v H one for
a while. It was actually pretty entertaining. But you know,
I got some friends over on Staten Island that absolutely
hated it and hate people involved.
Speaker 2 (01:38:10):
So fair enough, but title alone, I know nothing about
the show. That title. It can't get better than that.
It is, right, Mob Wives, it is what it is,
you know, all right? We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper,
Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian now coming
up next. How would you describe this guy's legacy? It
(01:38:30):
is Fox Sports Radio's Countdown presented by BETMGM. It is
Fox Sports Radio's Countdown presented by BETMGM. I almost went
countdown to kickoff if we were a countdown now right,
we were in basketball season. We got baseball going and you
can't count on the kickoff there right, We're just countdown
streamlined it. Hey, you can stream this show and all

your screen. Okay, So sad news in Indianapolis. Jim Urse,
former team owner of the Colts. He passed away at
the age of sixty five this week and crack, I
know you had some thoughts on this. You wanted to
touch on it, how would you describe his legacy because
(01:39:33):
it is a blend, it's a mixed bag. So how
do you describe his legacy fully? What he did for Indianapolis.
Speaker 5 (01:39:39):
He was here with his band on last year. I
almost want to see it. I didn't, but you know
pretty much he was Indianapolis Colts. I mean, everyone knows
about the move overnight from Baltimore in eighty four, and
that's when Ursy took over as GM. Hecame the owner
in ninety seven. That's when the Colts really started to
become a solid and a franchise. Drafting Peyton Manning is
(01:40:02):
what helped would really helped turn the franchise around. Actually,
but you have to credit her say too though. Indianapolis
was a basketball town and he made it into a
football town.
Speaker 4 (01:40:12):
So it will be interested to see.
Speaker 5 (01:40:14):
How this franchise goes now and all three of his daughters.
I'm presuming that his daughters will just take over as
the owners of the team and forge ahead. So we'll
see what happens of it. But unfortunately, in the young
age of sixty five, we give our condolences to family
and friends.
Speaker 3 (01:40:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
Absolutely, Yeah, that's the way it's to me. I'm curious
what you think, Jeff. But it was a blend because
there are a lot of people involved with the culture
organization that have the utmost respect for Jim Irsay. And
he was a very you know, thoughtful guy, did a
lot of good things for a lot of people, and
(01:40:53):
that's the great side of Jim Irsay. But on the
other side, you'd be doing the disservice if you didn't
mention like the demons and the addiction, and he brought
some embarrassment to the cults organization, there's no doubt about it.
So it's a blend. But it did a lot of
good for a lot of people. And I fully understand
why they speak so highly of the guy.
Speaker 3 (01:41:13):
Well, I think that's the thing that you want in
death right as people to talk about you the way
I think they've talked about Jim Mersey so far. It
is fair to mention the flaws, right, but a lot
of those flaws were personal, right. They didn't get other people.
He wasn't really affecting. I mean, I'm sure people in
his family thought affective, but it wasn't like sure, you know,
it was a thing that affected anyone, but himself. But
(01:41:33):
look again, you listen to his former players and even
people that covered him in the media that can be harsh.
I mean all spoke very glowingly of Jim Mersey and
his passion for the Colts and other ventures and obviously
big in the music and collectibles and things like that.
From the football perspective, though, he's an owner that I
think you want, right, that invests money and cares about winning,
(01:41:56):
and I think for the most part sort of state
of way. I know there were reports that the Richardson
Daniel Jones thing was Chris jim Mersey was going to
decide like who was gonna win the job, But I
think for the most part, Brian and I think you
know Indianapolis better than I do, he sort of stayed
away and let the the you know, let who's the
general manager? The uh, who was the Chris Bill Polly
(01:42:21):
Bill Polling, Bill Polling kind of just like do his
own thing, right, and that's important ownership. You want to
support with the financial support, but also just like, let
me do my job. And I mean, look, the win
a championship, uh with uh with Peyton Manning. It didn't
work out that way with with Andrew luck. But think
about what Lucas Hahll Stadium does for the city, right
(01:42:42):
and the combine obviously, which continues to be Indiapolis great
city for the type of thing. You look at the
Big Ten championship games they have there, the other supporting
events they have in that stadium. So did a lot
of good for the community. And again, you know, you
listen to people and they the way they talked about him,
I think that's how you want to be talked about
when you pass.
Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Sure, yeah, it's interesting to me too, is you know
you hear this a lot where a good organization in
the NFL, it starts with stable ownership, and there's a
lot of truth to that, but I would argue it
starts with a franchise quarterback because it wasn't the epitome
of stable ownership with Jim Rsay. It just wasn't just
(01:43:23):
based on how he lived his life. But that was
a stable organization cause they had Tony Dungee, they had
Peyton Manning, they had a true franchise quarterback. And look,
anybody will tell you if you've had bad management in
any type of job, it's like, wow, your ceiling is
lowered immediately because you have someone in charge who's incompetent,
(01:43:45):
and it just it goes into all the decisions that
are made. So I'm not saying that stable ownership doesn't matter.
It absolutely matters. But I would argue, like, we're looking
at the Washington Commanders right now, and they have new
ownership and that has made a different rince, there's no doubt.
But I would argue the Washington Commanders with Daniel Snyder
still there, but with Jayden Daniels, that's still a winning franchise, right,
(01:44:10):
So I don't buy this. It starts with stable owners.
You have a stable owner and a sucky quarterback and
have a trash football team. That's the way it goes
in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:44:18):
The only pushback on that, Brian is like you sort
of like I think you sort of make your own
luck in sports, right, And that's sort of how you
run your franchise, how you coach your players, the attitudes
and the buildings, who you hire as the trainer, right,
and the nutrition is a strength coach and bad owners
(01:44:40):
hire bad people, right, And so yeah, Jane and Daniels
probably would have been good. But does does Daniel Snyder
hire Dan Quinny? Probably goes for some big name somewhere
and just an old retread that because they he's known
as he's got like hiring Dan Quinn. Who again. I
(01:45:00):
mean when you look at the Higher, you're like, wow,
he won a lot in Atlanta. Like I know, we
know he will the super Bowl in twenty sixteen or
twenty eighteen, whatever that was. But he won a lot
in Atlanta. He was really good. He was not the
sexy Higher. Wasn't the sexy Higher at all. Remember the
photo of him. I think he was flying like like
coach back to it's his first interview. It's like it
(01:45:22):
was not the sexy Higher. It's a guy Daniel Snyder
does not hire. There's no chance he hires Dan Quinn.
And so you make your own luck by I think
just having competent ownership. I've been. There's also like so
when I played for the Lions, this was and they
have the same ownership now, but Dan Campbell sort of
changed everything for them, and that was a good hire
(01:45:44):
they obviously made. But there's a feeling like when you're
in the Giants facility, four time super Bowl champion and
you walk in that building and the four super Bowls
are right in the lobby, the Super Bowl trophies. There's
a different vibe in the building than there was, like
in Detroit, just felt different. And I think part of
that just comes with like ownership, winning the resources you
(01:46:07):
put in place to win. Now, Dan Campbell, and this
is why I give Dan Campbell the most credit for
I've said this for years now. He basically broke the
losing vibe of the Lions like he forcefully did it
with his with his personality and with drafting and developing
interior players and physicality. I give him so much credit
for doing that because the ownership hasn't changed a lot
(01:46:27):
of times when the ownership.
Speaker 6 (01:46:28):
Was generation though, like it was like Sheila, Sheila hamp
was the one who had in correct, like Holmes and Campbell,
when it was like you know, the older it was
like Martha and William Clay for the third so long.
Speaker 3 (01:46:42):
And that does help sometimes when you have sort of
like the family, the younger family take over. But so
I think it does matter Brian a little bit more
that then. But you're right, if Washington drafts Jane Daniels
with Snyder, they're probably good at least and you know,
in the Colt Scott payin Manning which helps. That got
Andrew Luck, which certainly helps.
Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
And now, h god, that's a great way to look
at it. It's same owner until Jim Mersey unfortunately passed
away this week. Same owner with the Colts with Peyton
Manning and Tony Dungeye the Colts now with Shane Sdyke
and and Anthony Richardson that Anthony Richardson slash you know
(01:47:22):
Daniel Jones two headed monster. Oh and what do you know?
They're four and thirteen. You know, that's the way it goes.
It's same ownership. So that's the thing. It's a great
argument by you. I'm not trying to say that good
ownership doesn't matter. It matters a ton, But this idea
of you know, a good organization that starts with the
stable owner, it's like not if you have a trash quarterback.
That's the one thing I would say. I would push
(01:47:43):
back on the pushback this way by saying a broken
clock is right twice a day. You know, sometimes bad
owners make good decisions. Sometimes a bad owner puts a
head coach in place and it's like wow, it's a
great decision or a great gm in place and actually
does something right. For a change. I'll tell you this
about a quarterback. There's no you know, broken clock is
(01:48:08):
right twice a day. With a bad quarterback, you got
a bad quarterback, you got a bad football team. That's
just the way it is in the NFL. So that's
where I would say quarterback matters more.
Speaker 4 (01:48:20):
Owner.
Speaker 5 (01:48:20):
I don't know why Why do I always think Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (01:48:25):
I just always the first thing you think of, That's
the first.
Speaker 4 (01:48:27):
Thing I think of.
Speaker 5 (01:48:28):
I just like I always just say, you know, just
keep your place, keep your your house in order, do
what you're good at, stay in your lane. And he
just he's always gets involved with things that I feel
he should. And so just just every time I think
of that, but I forgot. We have had some boisterous
bad owners throughout the you know, decades and in the
(01:48:50):
NFL and the NBA.
Speaker 4 (01:48:52):
Boy, I'll tell you why. Yeah. I mean, if you
want to talk to fans, you fans can't stay gosh.
I'm sorry, you know.
Speaker 6 (01:48:59):
I was just gonna say, if you want to talk
about a bad owner in the NFL, look at who
was there for the Colts before Jim Mersey, Robert Ursay. Yeah,
the man who just like compulsively lied about relocating the team,
moved the team out in the middle of the night,
fought with people constantly like yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:49:16):
Yep, very good, very good. Yeah. You just think about.
Speaker 6 (01:49:19):
Just the whole generation changes everything sometimes.
Speaker 5 (01:49:22):
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Cleveland Browns fans, so you know,
they were furious, curious when they moved, like under the
cover of darkness to Baltimore. Like it went crazy until
they got their team back. The dog pounds and media
and everything.
Speaker 4 (01:49:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:49:38):
So it's it's interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:49:40):
It really is interesting. Let me tell you something.
Speaker 5 (01:49:43):
I grew up where I grew up, people hated Steinbrender,
my my grandfather, you know, born and raised, loved the Yankees,
and loved Billy Martin. It's either you like Billy Martin
or you're like fry Steinbrenner. So hated Steinbrenner. He's hated
talk about a hated owner. Now he's softened up at
the last part of his life. And and you know,
it was on the field and tears and going around
(01:50:04):
to the golf cart around the stadium and trying to,
you know, bring the fans back on the side, and
maybe did for a portion, but boy, at one time
during the seventies when they were winning World Series. Man
Steinbrenner was hated. He really was.
Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
Well, there's a man who is not hated by anybody.
That would be Isaac Lowen Tron, and he's got to
talk to my kids. That's not true. It's false advertising.
They love you, they love the ground you walk on.
Speaker 7 (01:50:32):
I low thank you, Welton. They do a good job
of hiding it a lot of the time. Let's put
it that way. Well, we had a job, a bad
job of hiding close games in the Western Conference Finals
because Oklahoma City won the first two over the Minnesota
Timberwolves by combined total of forty one points, and the
last night in Game three, Minnesota beat Oka See by
(01:50:53):
forty two points, one forty three to one oh one.
The Thunder still leads the series two games to one.
Tonight at eight Eastern, Game three Eastern Conference Finals as
the Indiana Pacers. So it's the New York Knicks with
the Pacers up two games to nine. Stanley Cup playoffs
today at three Eastern Game three of the Western Conference
Final from Edmonton, with the Oilers and Dallas Stars tied
at one within a piece. In Game three of the
(01:51:14):
Eastern Conference Final on Saturday night, the defending Stanley Cup
champion Florida Panthers if even the Carolina Hurricanes six to
two for a three games to none lead. Today's Major
League Baseball action already underway, the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland
Guardians are scoreless going to the bottom half of the
first inning, coming up at twelve forty five Eastern the
one hundred ninth running of the Indianapolis five hundred and guys.
(01:51:38):
The party continues a pace in the infield, and for
the very latest, let's once again check in with the
irrepressible Rob Gronkowski, who continues to hold court there on
Fox TV My favorite party.
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
How about here at the e five under sus On.
Speaker 7 (01:51:55):
I feel like I'm at home because I absolutely own
the Colts playing the Anoufam coach.
Speaker 8 (01:52:01):
For eight year straight.
Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
Well, I'm the Patriots.
Speaker 3 (01:52:04):
I've never lost it up II on them on the field.
Speaker 7 (01:52:07):
In the blocking game, in the passing game, So I
feel like I'm at home.
Speaker 3 (01:52:11):
And also the Knicks beat my Boston Celtics lass weeks,
so now I'm a Patriots fans and show it evens out.
Speaker 7 (01:52:17):
Rob Gronkowski eloquently describing the sports allegiances as only he
can back to you, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:52:26):
That is a great way to win the fans over.
Just talk about how you never lost to their bum
franchise in the eight years you were like. That's great, love,
dronk Man, He's fantastic. All right. It is Fox Sports
Radio's Countdown, presented by Bett MGM. We've got Bill Krachenberger,

only one quick minute here, but you touched on this
very briefly, Jeff. What's happening in puck? The Florida Panthers
(01:53:12):
are just destroying the Carolina Hurricanes, so they have a
three to zero series lead. Their Hurricanes have lost fifteen
straight games in the conference finals. They're in jeopardy of
getting swept for a fourth straight time in the Conference finals.
Speaker 3 (01:53:29):
It's happening in Game four. I mean this game was
one to one and during the third period and Florida
ripped off five goals in a row. You're the under
in that. That is as close as can be.
Speaker 5 (01:53:40):
Imagine having the under there, Yeah, Jeff and I had
the under the night before.
Speaker 3 (01:53:44):
Yeah, they got home with these there. It was the
Panthers were lost game one to Tampa Bay five to one.
I believe it was on their home ice, and they
looked bad. They looked slow and old, and you were like,
did the two straight years of finals runs really to
get out of this team? And then and then all
(01:54:04):
of a sudden, they have looked great since then. It
look like the world champions again.
Speaker 2 (01:54:09):
They have, right. Yeah, Florida's out scored Carolina sixteen to
four in the series. Jesus, it's just beat down city. Man,
it's crazy. But they go for the sweep. What tomorrow night,
We'll see if that happens. But you talk about a
team that's getting no fanfare whatsoever, that's the Florida Panthers, Man,
(01:54:31):
I don't hear a whisper about them, and they're on
the doorstep of winning another one. At least getting to
the finals and winning another one. All right, We've got
Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran.

why are wearing pinstripes and like dark black pinstripes And
it's not you, guys. Your pin structures are white. Take
a deep breath there. I like the sky and sparks
today under one sixty two and a half the Sky
can't score, as we know, and the Sparks are without
(01:56:49):
their two best players. Essentially, Plumb has been playing well,
but I think the under today Brian has a great
chance of hitting, so I'll take the under here for Sky.
I think Angel rees probably plays well today, so there's
if you can summic it over points over rebound. I
think for Angel Reese is probably in play here after
her performance in the last game.
Speaker 2 (01:57:11):
Okay, nice, I like it. I'm gonna go with the Knicks. Pacers.
Give me the first half total over one fourteen and
a half. I'll tell you a stinky, stinky line over here.
So think about game two now, I was in the garden.
First half line is one oh eight and a half.
It went under. The game went under. Yet the first
(01:57:31):
half today is up six points from the last game,
even though the first half last game went under. That
stinks to the high heavens. I think that we're gonna
get a lot of pace, a lot of points early on.
The Pacers aren't gonna go any slower. They're probably gonna
be more efficient scoring as well, and the Knick's gonna
(01:57:52):
have to keep pay. So I think we're running, running, running,
and gunning in the first half. I'll take over one
fourteen and a half Cracks play of the day. Let's
do this.
Speaker 1 (01:58:03):
This is the best play of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:58:05):
It's the man, all right, Crack, what do you have
for us?
Speaker 5 (01:58:08):
Bud Well, guys, we had the Cleveland Detroit. We're in
the bottom of the second here, we got that first
three under which I've ever been at first free bet
till today.
Speaker 4 (01:58:17):
And we're gonna do the same thing though. Let's stick
with that. Hopefully that's a good trend here.
Speaker 5 (01:58:21):
Arizona Saint Louis bet MGM first three innings under two
and a half minus a dollar fifty Arizona Saint Louis.
Speaker 4 (01:58:29):
I hope you guys have a good day.
Speaker 5 (01:58:30):
And this is a big betting day, lots of stuff
going on, so that'll be one of the top ones there.
I like betting unders anyway, and a lot of these
first five so maybe these first trees will be a
new trend here.
Speaker 4 (01:58:44):
Hopefully we'll keep it going.
Speaker 2 (01:58:46):
Crack. I got a question for you. Okay, I know
your anti parlay, but when it's heavy juice like this
and you love the line, do you get tempted? Does
the parlay devil show up? On your right shoulder and
start whispering to you like, hey, we can reduce the
juice a little bit if we parlay it with this
other thing we like quite a bit. You never think, like.
Speaker 4 (01:59:06):
Not even not even a question.
Speaker 5 (01:59:08):
No, And speaking of which, like a lot of guys say,
they'll be like, oh man, the Yankees, they got it,
you know, the Dodger. I mean, Colorado has never won
a series this year. I gotta put the Yankees. Just
throw them in your parlay. No, I'm not laying three
to one and throwing in a parlay. And that's maybe
what you were referring to. I don't know, but no,
I am not looking to bet any three to one
(01:59:29):
favorites at all, even straight not looking at by any
parlays at all.
Speaker 2 (01:59:33):
Nice. So that's good advice. So yeah, even if it's
like this, uh what this Guardian's Tigers game, the under
two and a half in the first three innings, even
if it's juiced to minus a dollar sixty, I'm not
trying to pair it with something else. Just roll it
with that.
Speaker 4 (01:59:46):
Huh.
Speaker 2 (01:59:47):
Yeah, he makes sense. All right, everybody, hope you enjoyed
the Memorial Day weekend, all the sports, all the barbecue stuff.
Have a great one. We'll see you soon.
