(01:31):
All right, So we got boots on the ground. Jeff
Schwartz over there in New York. He was at the Belmont.
It was at Saratoga for a second straight year, a
place that Crack has gone to many many times. How
many times in a row? Crack like twenty straight trips
over there.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
I think it was twenty one straight times when I
lived back in New Jersey. Yeah, every traverse for twenty
one years. Even though I really don't bet horses. It
just was a fun a fun week. It's one of
the best weeks of of my memories, to be honest
with you. Had some great times there, you know. It's
the history of the racetrack, the history of the town,
(02:07):
the Whitneys, the barren Moores, the Krakenburgers. Yeah, it's really.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Cool, very nice. Yeah, I went there many many times.
I did radio in Albany, New York for a few years,
and we went to Saratoga every Friday. It's an awesome place. Jeff,
is at your first time? Good morning to both of you, guys.
Was that your first time there?
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Jeff, My first time at any racetrack, so that was, well, look,
good morning guys. It was it reminded me of like
a regularly field, you know vibe because it's it's the
oldest track in the country or one of the oldest
in the country, and you know, just like you walk
in and you sort of get like the grand stand,
(02:49):
that the old school vibe of of of of a
Wrigley Field, which I thought was super fun. And then
you know, I got there at eleven thirty, I think
we Race two or three was happening. It was pouring rain.
It was it was miserable. And then I got on
(03:09):
the air and you hear my voice made a little rasp.
I did six hours yesterday of live coverage from uh
from from Sarah from Saratoga, and then we just were
like we were there all day and you saw as
the day got longer, the vibe certainly changed. We got there,
we got there super early, and it wasn't you know,
it was kind of like a little dead atmosphere. But
(03:31):
I will tell you, man, I got to be We
were situated right on turn one.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
I was ten feet from the rail. Look where where
our setup was.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
And most of the races that were run before race thirteen,
which is, uh, you know, the big race, we didn't
get to see a lot of the horses run by us,
so the way that the track was set up and whatnot,
we didn get to see them run by the finish line.
But I'll tell you what. When when the the Bellmont happened,
(04:02):
they ran by us at the start. Obviously when he
came out of the gate, it was some powerful beasts. Man,
holy heck, like those those horses are moving. Because I
watched one race before we started the show, you know,
from the grand stand essentially, and you know there was
they were moving. Okay, but see these horses. These are
the best three year olds in the world right now.
Running as they did was super cool. I really enjoyed
(04:25):
myself and I hit an eight to one in race eight.
I think that that kind of made my day. And
that's sovereignty too. So when you can do those things
and he hit a couple wagers, it makes your day a.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Lot more fun.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Very nice. Yeah, sovereignty, you got it done. That was
the derby winner. So doubles up and wins the Belmont.
You know, I was thinking about this with both of
you guys, because listen, Jeff is a former athlete, right.
If you think about sporting events that you've been to,
that you've taken part in, or you would tell other
people you got to go there once you got it.
(05:00):
Experiences you go all the way back to your college
days at Oregon, all the road venues that you played
in of course in the NFL, and now really as
a media guy slash fan, all the experiences. I want
to get your input to crack. You've been to a
lot of places. But Jeff, starting with you, what what's
one place if you're like, hey, man, I'm a sports fan.
You know what's one place that you would say you
(05:21):
gotta go there? What would you tell that person?
Speaker 4 (05:23):
I think that's still the Rose Bowl. I know people
will often say the Rose Bowl itself is the amenities
are not there. That's not why you're at the Rose Bowl.
At the Rose the amenity it's under the old stadium.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
You know.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
I think the Rose Bowl, when the sun setting and
the too passionate fan bases, it just feels very very special.
You know, I've been to a Super Bowl and that
has a very corporate feel to it. Even though I
was I was with the Chiefs fans and it was
still a lot of fun. I've been to a World
Series and that's a ton of fun. I mean those
are obviously if you're rooting for the home team, which
(06:01):
I was at that time, that felt you know different,
But you know again, you have you have to your
favorite team has to be in the World Series for
that to feel. I think they get some emotion out
of that. The Rose Bowl is my is my jam man.
Maybe as I grew up as a UCLA fan, I'd
been a Rose Bowl what fifty times, and as a
kid with every home game from the time I was
five till eighteen years old. So maybe there's no nostalgia there.
(06:24):
But I just think that when that when those when
the sun setting behind the mountains, there no better scene
in sports, And uh, that's the one.
Speaker 5 (06:32):
That's the one I'd always pet crack nice.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
You know, I gotta tell you you were there yesterday, Jeff.
I've been there many times, many times throughout the nineties
and early two thousands. I really love Saratoga Springs. Now.
I went for a week, so the history of the gambling.
Nobody would ever understand unless you're there, you understand that
racetrack opened one hundred and sixty five years ago. I
(06:58):
mean that that's how long that's been there. That racetrack
has been there one hundred and sixty years. And the first,
one of the first casinos in the world was in
Saratoga Springs. It was called the Canfield Casino. You can
go visit it. I used to go on Tuesdays to
visit the casino. That's a dry racing day at Saratoga,
so that was like my day off. It's over at
Congress Street. There's so much history to Saratoga. That casino
(07:23):
was built by John Morris. He was a retired prize
fighter political guy. Matter of fact, what a job Fox
did yesterday on the entire broadcast. You know, our buddy,
our buddy, Chris Filica was over there and just I
watched the entire thing. I'm gonna text Chris when he
gets back because what a great job they did on
(07:46):
different stories they showed yesterday. I mean, there was so
many different things they had. Terry Bradshaw, Bobby Flay, Art
Runi's grandson, which was in the owner of the track
and a trainer that just died at fifty nine, Christopher Clement.
Like I said, John Morris, they talked about the Baron
Nuncle Fighter Bill mott Is two year old granddaughter that
(08:09):
passed away, and they did a great special on that.
I mean, it was just so good. In the history
of the track. Like I said, going back to what
I said about the original casinos, there was a lot
of believe it or not, even in the early nineteen hundreds, Diamond,
Jim Brady, You're talking about casinos that were owned by
mob figures and notorious guys like Meyer, Lansky, al Capone.
(08:33):
There's a lot of people that have been in Saratoga.
There's so much history to the town. I absolutely love it.
I miss it. That's one big thing for me. I
guess if I have to go into other events, I've
been out.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
You know.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
I actually, as in my teens, actually got pretty lucky.
I got to go see I think it was around
nineteen twenty. I actually got to go see Tyson Spinkx
and Tyson Holmes Wow in Atlantic City. They're right down
there in Atlantic City. And I just remember getting to
meet Walter Payton, Richard Pryor, Chuck Norris, but they were
(09:09):
really cool. I had some really good seats, and I
just got really lucky early in life with a couple
things there. I really had a lot of fun with that,
just just off hand. That's just something thinking about how
fun that was for me. Yankee games maybe when I
was a kid, but you know, living there was so easy.
But the Subway Series was a big thing for me
(09:30):
when that started happening in the actual world series. But
I would say it's the old school, maybe those Tyson fights.
But listen, Saratoga's right up there for me, even though
I'm not a horse race guy, Saratoga's up there.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
The one thing that's interesting about the horse they experience
here versus I think other sporty events. That's kind of
so it depends on I think what you like in
your events. Like I am a get to the stadium
a little early, Like I don't mostly the traffic issues
I have to get in the stadium, sure, you know,
(10:05):
get get my bearings of where I'm at, get some food,
sit down, and then like watch the game, right, But
I'm there for the game, all right, So like that's
that's like you know, all the all the Super Bowl
I went to like all the pre festival. It's a
different experience when your sibling plays in Super Bowl. But
you know, I'm there just to watch the game, right
like when I and so when I go to the
(10:26):
rose Ball, there to watch the game. When you're at
a track, though, it's it's not always about at least
I know it's yesterday. It's I mean not always about
watching the horses, right, because yesterday was unique because two
races were canceled, so there were an hour. If you, Brian,
if you ever want to challenge yourself to come up
with with some content, try doing fifty five minutes between
(10:47):
race seven and eight live stream. Okay, fifty five minutes
of talking about horses between race seven and eight's and
I earned my money yesterday, and uh, like, you know,
because you know they race. I guess if the races
aren't canceled every forty five minutes, I think it's about right.
(11:09):
So you you're there for everything else, right, Like you're
there for enjoying it with friends and family. You're there
for the Belmont Bourbon drink they have. You're there for
the environment of you know, they're there for the food
and the booze, like so and then the two minute
horse race happens, right, So I think it depends on
what what the vibe of what you want from your
(11:31):
sporting event. You know, if you're there for imagine you
know people tonight and okay, see like you're you're there
to watch the game, right, you're just there for the
two and a half hours. So it depends, I think,
on what you want from your sporting if you're a
so very social person, like my wife would love the
horse track like that's like that's her vibe. Where I
would prefer to go to the game tonight in Oklahoma
City and watch your if hours of basketball like you know.
(11:52):
So like it depends on what your vibe is for
your sporting event. What what makes it worth that experience?
Thinksid No, it was outside under a tent, but because
it gets so hot, but it wasn't so it wasn't
The rain had stopped by time we started crack and
it only got to like eighty two yesterday. It was
(12:14):
actually very pleasant. If we didn't have the tent cover,
we would have been screwed, but it was it wasn't
too bad yesterday. If it was ninety plus, I think
and look Saratoga is open, I belief from July, July
and August, right, so when it's open for the most part,
this is before the season starts. I also thought it
was super cool. The horses are the celebrities and you
(12:37):
cannot like get near, Like not even that I wanted to,
but like, there was a time I was trying to
cross it's pouring rain.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
I just got there.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
I'm trying to cross a path to get into into
where I was going. The horses were coming from the paddock,
I think, like to the track and they're like, no, no, wait, wait,
horse horse coming through, sir, like it's pouring rain.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
Can I please just get on the grand stand? Like,
no horses coming through? Please.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
That's the thing, man about Saratoga. That's why it's really
cool for anyone who has in pen there. It's definitely
worth going to. Now let me go into music for
a second and bring it back to sports. But you
know me, I'm a heavy metal guy. I'm used to
general admission shows. I'm not used to, Hey, I've got
a seat in section one thirty one. No, man, you
(13:23):
go there and you go wherever the hell you want
to go. That's basically what Saratoga is like, and that's
why it's so different than like, say a football game
that you go to and you know us we love ball,
but you have a seat in a section and you
go there and you can't really wander around. If you
went to an Eagles game, you wouldn't wander around the
(13:45):
stadium the way you can at Saratoga. That's why it's
so different. And you can go hang out at the
paddock area. You can be within arm's length of the
horses just walking around warming up. You can go wherever
you want to pretty much. That's what's really cool about it.
That's why I would highly recommend it. The other thing,
we're just talking about sporting events in general that I
(14:07):
would highly recommend. Of course, you know what I would say,
it would be Notre Dame Stadium. There's something cool about
seeing something in person that you've seen on TV or
in the movies a hundred times. You know, if you go,
you might hate Notre Dame and that's fine, but if
you love college football and ball in general, it's absolutely
worth going to. I mean, it's a great atmosphere. I
(14:31):
haven't been and I want to get to a lot
of SEC atmospheres, and there are a lot of college
stadiums I want to get to. I just haven't been
able to based on my work schedule. But it's still
a great atmosphere. And then you see all these sites
like the Golden Dome. Touchdown Jesus. You go to the
grotto where all the candles are, it's you know, just
(14:51):
right there where the Golden Dome is. It's awesome. And
you've seen this on your TV and in movies left
and right. So any place like that where you can
feel history, I thought Lambeau was very similar. You can
just feel like, Wow, there's just football history here. I
love those type of venues. Those are awesome.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
My first time at Lambo certainly felt that way. Like
when you're walking in the from for a warm mouths,
you're like, oh, wow, this has been a lot of
football played here. You can see you can see where
the old Bowl was ended in the new construction. Yeah,
it's a very defined line of like here is the
old first Bowl, here, here's.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
The rest of the stadium.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
So it makes it actually look I think, Brian, when
Noriam joins the Big Ten, eventually Oregon will.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
Have an away game.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Then I'll go I'll come to you eventually like after
our lifetime still when they joint of conference. But you know,
like that, Yeah, I think that the history of stadiums,
as we get new ones, I feel like that's going away.
I mean, there's talk about new Arrowhead Stadium. It's like
what I get, it's old. It's nineteen seventies. You know
(15:58):
the Buffalo you know, Buffalo Stadium, an Orchard Park like
that was built nineteen seven. This started football in nineteen
seventy one. I went to a Division around game there
a few years ago, and it felt like Saratoga when
you're you're there are some new arenas I'm sure you
guys feel this way where like the ball feels secondary,
you know, like there's so many bells and whistles. And
(16:20):
I'm not saying the staums should have these things, these amenities,
but it feels like a little sterile atmosphere. These older stadiums,
man don't feel that way at all. Like Saratoga. There
was like some grime, you know, yeah, you know, like
and I like Arrowhead. I like like the Bill Stadium
for that reason. The Rose ball again I mentioned the
Rosebud feels sort of it's not not as grimy. I
(16:40):
think as other places feel. But the oldness nore Dame
Stadium like having some some you know, some history in
the stadium. Some of the new stadiums just feel I
remember the first time I played in Dallas, which is
kind of an older stadium. Now, we played there the
first year it opened.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
The new one.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
I never played in the old one, and you walk in,
it's like it's just so big. It's just like it
doesn't feel as as intimate as other places, as grimy,
as kind of like you have that home field advantage.
Lambeau felt that way because it's just it's so old.
You know, it's history football.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Yeah, I know, I love that though. You could just
feel those atmospheres, you know, absolutely. I don't know what
it is with the newer stadium. Some of them are
really really cool, but they don't feel the same. You
don't walk into like at and T Stadium and like, wow, man,
this is football history, this is vintage. You're like, this
is a state of the art.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
Man.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
It feels completely different. All right, cool stuff. We got
Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran,

coming up right now, French Open. Who you guys got,
you got center? You're going al Karaz? Who you got?
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Uh uh that's my answer.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
I looked. I got by the ponies yesterday. Uh sport.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
I don't follow as much all that crack Uh handle
the uh, I will say quickly. Russ, our friend, Russ,
he loves himself some ponies. I didn't realize how much
he likes some ponies until he texted me yesterday. The
anger from him about the track conditions and new work.
(19:31):
Racing Association decided to go forward and go forward with
a lot of the races.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
Not a fan. He was not a fan of that.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
But no, no, no, but he helped me immensely prepare
for this event with getting me some information. I will
tell you then the handicapping. I got some information from
from him. Sammy P had a guy and I got
information from SAMMYP. I listened to a podcast on on
(20:00):
the races.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
What a what a great world, what a unique world.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
It is is a force.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Racing eight furlongs is a mile? Learned that yesterday. So
a lot of fun though, but I had nothing for
if I saw Coco one yesterday you graduations to her.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
That's her first time winning.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
The French Open, I think, right, yeah, and this one
is obviously it's on clay versus the other ones they're
not on clay, so you know, tennis being played on
three different surfaces is unique to me as well, because
that's you know, it's no, I guess not many other
sports playing three surfaces. Some play on two, but being
played on three obviously makes it pretty unique.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
So I'll have it on. But I have nothing, Brian,
I'm sorry, I got so what what.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
You got about to pick them on this on this match? Brian?
Speaker 5 (20:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Pretty much? Yeah, very close depending where you shop. You know,
it was right before it started, Center was minus at
dollar eighteen, Karas minus at dollar ten, but yeah, pretty
close to even.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
So I'm over on the bet MGM site and the
ways you can bet or amazing of just you can
bet so many different set one winner, game one, set
one set to set betting who will win the most
games in the match, total games in the match. I
can go on and on tie breaks, handicaps, totals. It's
(21:24):
amazing how many different Race to fifteen, Race to twenty,
just like we do win, you know, NFL or race
to two games, many ways to bet. I've never been,
you know, I used to be around a tennis guy,
a handicapper. That's back in early two thousands, before the
sportsbooks change the rules. If I tell you how much
(21:47):
money this guy won betting tennis, you wouldn't believe it. Now.
What I mean is this, if you can handicap if
someone is just playing for sponsorship commitments, or maybe they're
a little bit injured, maybe a little bit, you know,
if you could find out if they're going to maybe quit,
if they're down so many sets, and just withdraw from
(22:08):
the match. Well, all of them, and I mean all
of the sports books used to count that and say, okay,
the guy retired, the other guy wins the other guy
were true, and you can handicap that, and just based
on their history, based on them being maybe slightly injured,
based on sponsorship commitments. However, the sportsbook's quickly caught up.
(22:30):
Now they have to complete the matches. But years ago,
it was a giant advantage having a good tennis handicaper,
believe it or not, late nineties, early two thousands up
till around twy ten, twenty twelve, that's when the sports
books all started changing their rules. And I get it.
(22:50):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
You know, it's probably a bad handicap crack and this
is not a reason I would bet on the French Open.
But I just can't back center in a stupid outfit.
You know, I can't bet on the guy. Sorry, it's
the pass just based on the outfit crack.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
I can't.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
I can't bring myself to no GP right, can't can't
go with center there. It looks terrible. I don't know
what it is. Got a green shirt and a white collar.
He looks like, you know, your your boy Koli over there,
who was Sigma Phi Kappa whatever. Can't do it, can't
do it, way too preppy of a look. Can't do that.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
I mean, I get that. Considering that the Pacers city
connected to forums. I was gonna fade them every time
they wore them, And so I get taking a team
and fading them based off of a uniform. So I
I get that that thought. You have to you know,
you have to. There's me some some vibe check going
on when you wager on some of these teams.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Yeah, Jeff, are you going all over there? And I'm
like Broadway or something.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
I'm an Albany.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Oh you're a nice Brian knows that area.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
I mean, I walked to dinner last night. It was
at nine. We found a place that was open, like
at nine thirty at night. When I got back from.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
Everything, sarahtoga and then I my flights at two. So
as soon as we get down here, I'm going back home.
So I did have it's a CRJ nine hundred. Originally
I had seat twenty two. A oh, okay, it wasn't great.
I checked the American app every hour till another seat
(24:25):
opened up. But now I have another main cabin extra seat.
So luckily as surviving that window seat and on CRJ
nine hundred in the three extra Charlotte.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
Yeah, perfect.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
There you go, major city to metropolis. You know that's
absolutely okay. So if you look at the Pacers, right,
let's let's talk some hoops over here. Pacers one game
one of the NBA Finals, another crazy comeback. We're down
by fifteen points in the fourth quarter. Somehow one I
don't know how they keep doing this, But depending on
(25:00):
which odds you check, the odds of this happening are
even longer than you would imagine. So if you look
at there are four huge comebacks in these playoffs. They
had one against the Bucks, another one against the Cavs,
another one against the Knicks, and this latest one against OKC.
If you just multiply the win probability at their lowest
(25:22):
point in each game. Micah Adams used to work at ESPN.
He said the Pacers had a one in seventy five
million chants of winning all four of those games, and
they somehow did. I was watching Sports Center last night.
I don't know what kind of goofy math they did
or what they're looking at. Michael Leaves, who's a Sports
Center anchor, he was like, the Pacers had a one
(25:44):
and it was like six hundred and some odd million chants.
I don't know which odds you go by or what.
It was a long shot, long shot that they ran
the table in all four of these crazy comebacks, but
they keep doing it in Halliburton. The amount of monster
of shots he's hitting these playoffs has been insane.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
Yeah, he's hit like what nine shots this season or
eleven something and saying like that with you know, to
put his team either tire or lead at the end
of games, I tweeted this out about this game, and
I think it's it was a very unique Game one.
(26:23):
So uh and I don't know how the Pacers keep
doing this. I'm still in all they won the other night.
Luckily I didn't. I just had okay see first half
and that that that hit with the East it wasn't
even an issue. And we'll get to check Holmer in
a few minutes.
Speaker 5 (26:37):
Here.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
Guys, that guy he's one of those guys where you
wager on them, he just just is above every time
you wager on him. So Game one, Indiana out rebounded
okay See by sixteen shocking shocking result. Indiana made eighteen
to three. So the thunder eleven, it's kind of shocking.
Like I know, Indian has to shoot the ball from
(26:58):
distance to make to make it this they made six
fourth quarter including that that turner shot.
Speaker 5 (27:03):
Went up in the air. You're like, oh, that's not close.
But boom bent did crazy.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
Nee Smith hit like a steph Curry step back fade
away three. You're like, what is happening right now? It
was no Nemar, It wasn't with Nemar. Yeah, Nemar hit
that three from the wing, your near wing. You're like,
what what's happening now? Indiana had twenty six turnovers. It
depends on what boxfore you look at. And the Thunder
(27:28):
didn't shoot well. I could see the exact opposite happening
in this game today where the Thunder out rebound the Pacers. Yeah,
Pacers don't turn the ball over as much. Right, The
Thunder shoot better though, and the Thunder went by like
twenty alright. It's like it was as shocking as an
(27:49):
end result with a team in the Thunder, I thought
was sort of over that type of result after the
Nuggets series where they've had close games since then. They
made the most of it, but that was an epic
It was an epic collapse, Bride, There's no way about it.
I thought that their coach got too cute, and this
(28:11):
is his first finals appearance. He'll learn from that, I
think today now he'll have Hartenstein and probably Chet playing
at the same time. If you get beat by Myles
turn and Obi Top and you just tip your hat
into Pacers, but you can't give up offensive rebounds.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
They didn't have a big dude in the game the
last three minutes.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
How is SG going to navigate inside in the paint
without a threat of a lob or a threat of
an offensive rebound. You know, the Pacers were able just
to kind of collapse on him there instead, you know
when you collapse on SG.
Speaker 5 (28:41):
But Chet's right there. He just throws them up the
Chet slam duck.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Chet probably would miss it, but at least the ability
to slam duck is there. But like, I just thought
that they they just they were out coached and outplayed
at the at the end there, and I think they'll
learn from it today, Crack. But when they beat the
Knicks or the Sics, it wasn't like that shocking, I
don't think. But the thunder are. So you're on pace
(29:04):
for like the eighty six and fifteen record this year, Brian,
I mean, it's insane.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
I was.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
It shocked me, Crack, it really did.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
And I laid that two seventy five on the series price,
and they'll tell you that right after that game.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
So that's an amazing price.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
I mean, yeah, it was seven to fifty before the game,
but no, I've.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Seen I've seen minus three and a quarter come up
three point fifty and then you text in the group
chat you had two seventy five. Wow, what a what
a score? You bet it too, right, I'll let you
know I didn't bet it.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
I'll let you know.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
I'll let you know how good it is in a
couple of days. But well, listen, we've we've never really
seen a run like what Halliburton has done this playoffs.
He's had three clutch shots this playoffs to win a game,
and one against the Knicks at the buzzer to send
the game to overtime. Just amazing. The Thunder were ahead
this entire game again before Halliburton hit that shot with yeah,
(29:59):
I think it was point It was a point.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
Three second first lead the entire game.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
A lot of people felt like the series was going
to be a runaway for the Thunder. I'll just tell
you does sports books absolutely destroyed it here. I don't
want to hear anything the rest of the whole entire
uh the playoffs here, the finals? Here? Does sports books
just everyone just threw that money line in their parlay
(30:25):
and accumulation. Let me just throw that in there. That's
an easy when they're a ten point favorite. You know,
even the odds makers shock though minus seven to one
to win the series. I seen even higher than that.
Cut that in half. Now minus three fifty the favorite
down at bet MGM. I still think that Thunder Listen,
(30:45):
it's so easy to say this though. I still think
that Under will win the series. But all the pressures
on them in this game tonight, I'll just tell you
the fit pacers of me. We need a rolling you know.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Yeah, we need a nickname for Halliburton. You started thinking
about great big shot nicknames right there was Chauncey Billups,
mister big Shot. That's a great nickname, big shot rob
with Robert Orie. We need a nickname at this point
for Hallibert.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
The internet name we can't probably repeat on the radio.
But there's some Internet nicknames that are there. They're good,
don't get me wrong. But I think that's we can
go with with some of them that they've suggested.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
You know, I'll get to how this team keeps making
me feel stupid. But someone who makes me feel smart.
That would be Isaac Loewenkron, who's with us this morning.
As always on Sunday, it's got the latest. What's going on?
Speaker 6 (31:37):
I low, well, you're onto something, Brian, because the men's
singles final at the French Open got underway moments ago
between One seed Yannick Center and two seed Carlos Alcaraz.
And here's why you really were onto something earlier, because
here's a sampling of some social media feedback since the
(31:59):
start of this match. At Saverio Maguisto posted on Twitter
in Italian quote Center conquesto vestito non merita d vineri,
which translates to Sinner doesn't deserve to.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
Win with this look.
Speaker 6 (32:21):
Meanwhile, at Dale mcdalson commenting quote even Zach Morris and
Steve Sanders think Sinner looks too preppy. And finally at
back to Guzman, adding quote if Sinner put on crocs,
it would be an improvement. Unquote ouch Man that last
(32:46):
one was the toughest at all. They are still battling,
by the way. The first game of the French Open
Final already in its eleventh minute between Center and Lacross.
And I had an eight Eastern Game two the NBA
Finals from Oklahoma City, with the Indiana Pacers up over
the Thunder one game to none. Baseball Saturday night, Joe
Adele two home runs and the Angels eight six win
(33:07):
over Seattle to the Mariners. Cal Rawley hit two home
runs as well, in a losing cause. He now has
twenty six home runs to lead the Majors three more
than show Hey o'tani in the New York Mets one
of Colorado eight to one, the Mets with the best
record in the National League at forty one and twenty four.
Now back to fashion Officionado ran.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
No, that's me man, for sure. You guys can tell
in the zoom chat go all over the fashion world.
Over here it is Fox Sports Radio's Countdown, presented by
Bett MGM. I'll tell you what real fast about these Pacers.
They make me feel stupid. They do, because again, I'm
watching these games and it's still not registering in my brain,
(33:53):
like they've got a legit chance to win this game.
They've done it every round of the playoffs. Watching this
game one like an idiot, where I'm like they're only
down by five, or like they're only down by three,
and it's still not clicking, like they could steal this game.
I didn't think that until the very end, and I'm like,
(34:15):
how could I not think that? With five six minutes
to go, it's still it didn't even dawn on me,
and they're just trailing by that much. And that's how
horrible they looked in the first half, just turnover city.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
Because basketball history is evidenced by all the stats that
we see after these games, There's been nothing like this ever,
like like, that's that's.
Speaker 5 (34:43):
Part of it.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
There's been you know, you see these first time NBA history,
a team is in NBA Finals is won a game
down seven with like it.
Speaker 5 (34:52):
Just has never happened before. Brian, That's what we ate.
That's what's hard to comprehend. And because again I go
back to this.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
A lot with the Pacers Halle, I had a I
didn't do individual prop bets in this game. I just
did one parlay essentially because whatever I took chet, I said,
I think game one you sort of have to fill
out before you just go heavy and the props. I
took a chat over rebounds and SJA under points. I
(35:19):
niced J Hollyburn. I felt very strong Hollyburn was not
gonna get seventeen and a half, and he didn't. That
basket was was his thirteenth or fourteenth point. He was tentative,
he was all the things I thought he would be
in Game one, and and that's why I thought they
weren't gonna win, and like and then he just hit
a mid grade's jumper, and like on a on a
(35:42):
possession that wasn't a great offensive possession, they didn't call
time out. He was sort of dribbling around like looking
like what am I gonna do with the ball, and
then just stopped eighteen feet away on the wing and
he just it's hard to comprehend all those things led
to this exact moment baked in three.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
It just was.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
I don't know, man, Yeah, that's the thing, real fast
for such a great defensive team. That was way too
easy of a look. Yeah, Ali Berton, you know, he
got to his right and just rose up. That's way
too good of a look in that type of situation
for a defense. That's that sounds hey man, that's the
(36:22):
way it went down.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
All right.
Speaker 3 (36:23):

Yes, parlay Platter, weach have one selection for you. We
pull it together for a greater payout. Crack. We start
with you. What's something you like?
Speaker 2 (37:41):
You know, I'm gonna throw a little nugget here for
the parlay platter on the main game in the NBA,
which is very hard to do for me. I really
don't like the BET a lot of playoff games if
fuller lines are usually very efficient. Let's go with the
Indiana Oklahoma tonight under on the game, gonna go under.
It's too twenty eight and a half at bet MGM
(38:02):
up to twenty eight and a half under under Indiana time.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
Okay, Wow, that's not that's not a normal unusual crack
player though.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
Okay, no, just because they would just throw it in there,
have some fun, a little nugget.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
Okay, So I will do I'm gonna go back to this, Brian.
I'm gonna do it. He's gonna break my heart and again,
I just know it. Chud houlgrin over. It's now eight
and a half rebounds. It was nine and a half
and do one. He still is the favorite to lead
the series in rebounds. With his pro poor performance at
(38:40):
Game one, I was a little concerned about him in
Game one, Brian, because in other game ones he's looked
very tentative, and last night Game one he looked very tentative.
I think today comes out with a little more and
it just was it looked a little unfortunate times too,
like when Hartenstein was in that Pagers missed more shots.
Speaker 5 (38:56):
And he just was there to get the rebound.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
I mean, it wasn't like but I think Chat tonight
I wouldn't be surprised if we see a twenty ten
night from Chat. I think that he's gonna have to
do that tonight, and they're gonna have to. They can't
just rely on SGA one on one. You're not getting
five to threes from lou Dort today. So I think
Chet's a big part of what they do today. But
I'll go over eight half.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
Rebounds, all right. Yeah, I'm similar to you, Crack. I'm
looking at the Pacers team total. I just think, Okay,
sees defense is gonna be really tough tonight. They just
let one slip away. You could look at maybe their
defense down the stretch in the fourth quarter and going
small ball and all those things contributed. I just think
(39:38):
they're gonna be highly focused, and that's the way they
really get going is they generate a bunch of turnovers
and easy points off those turnovers. I'm not expecting nineteen
in the first half again, but I just think the
PACER's gonna have a really difficult time scoring easily on OKAC.
I think they're gonna have to earn everything. And Halliburton
(39:59):
said that after game one. He's like, if you're driving
without a plan, that's not a good approach against OKC.
You have to drive with the plan. So for all
those reasons, I think Pacers under one oh eight and
a half for their team total is a solid look
here tonight. I mean, not a not a very juicy parlay,
but hey, one that can still hit. Nevertheless, it's plus
(40:22):
two sixty. You would think with three legs you'd be
better than plus two sixty, but crack you and I
similar line up thought on that.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
Yeah, there's a correlation, so you don't get so correlated Parlow.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Usually strike someonellow you to do it. But I understand
why they would hear at that penalization. Christ Yeah cool.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
Yeah, it's still nothing to thumb your nose up at though.
Plus two sixty is still pretty good. All right, Coming
up next, how would you define success for this guy?
We'll compare notes right around the corner. Oh, welcome in
Happy Sunday to you, as we are knee deep in
the French Open two in the first set between Center
(41:02):
Preppy Center and All Karaz. We'll keep you updated on that.
We're gonna get to how do you define success for
this guy in just a couple of seconds. First, they'll
be sure to check out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel.
Just search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see
a whole bunch of video highlights from our shows. Be
sure to subscribe to you always have instant access to
(41:23):
our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. Okay, so it's
finally official, Aaron Rodgers. Shocker, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
I know that was We didn't know that was gonna
happen months and months ago, But for whatever reason, Rogers
finally is signed, zeal delivered, Gonna show up to mandatory
mini camp next week or whenever he sees fit. But
(41:46):
the question becomes, what do you think would be a
successful season for Rogers this year?
Speaker 5 (41:52):
Right?
Speaker 3 (41:53):
Like, how would you define it?
Speaker 5 (41:55):
So this is the interesting part about this, right because
I would argue.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
The only success that would that would say, you know,
like this worked out as a super Bowl. I don't
really what else? Oh, they win a playoff game? How
does that can have any closer to anything. They had
won a playoff game in eight years. But okay, when
one playoff game, that that's what success for the Steelers.
(42:26):
It depends on the franchise, right, Like the Jets last
year was like make the playoffs, right, I mean that's
but to me, the Steelers six super Bowl championships, right,
They're not just in it to win a playoff game.
They're in it to win super Bowls. And I think
they're signing him with the idea of winning a super
Bowl this season. I think that's the only reason you
signed Aaron Rodgers. And the reason I'd been against the
Steelers planet for a quarterback for years now is there
(42:50):
is no plan. They're going to be right back on
the team spot next year, Brian heading in the draft
without a quarterback on the roster, having one a playoff
game or not, and we're gonna be who's the quarterback
of the Steelers. They're drafting twenty if they'll get the
six best quarterback in next draft, because the draft is
a big quarterback draft in twenty twenty six. If you
(43:10):
thought you were missing a little bit of quarterback discussion
and last draft, wait till this one, buddy, Because it's
going to be everywhere. Okay, I mean, so I did
the Steelers have to decide to do something bolded quarterback?
This is not bold. This is a guy on his
(43:31):
third team in four years. It's a guy who is
not committed one hundred percent of playing football. It's a
guy who at best probably you know, nine to ten wins.
I mean I go by this metric all the time
when I look at division winners, and it's hard to unless,
say you're Tom Brady in twenty twenty. You know, winning
a super Bowl as a wildcard team is really really
hard to do, right. You need to have a home
(43:53):
game and maybe a buyeh. Division winners are often the
best quarterback in the division. Just look at the divisions, right,
that's a is is Aaron Rodgers the best quarterback in
the NFC? North stop better than Burrow? No stop there
in Lamar, You're like, you just kind of like doing
the same thing again.
Speaker 5 (44:11):
Crack I off.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
I'm going under eight and a half. I know I
want to. It feels like a play that you know,
sharp people are gonna be on. But I'm just not
buying the Rogers thing, man, not not buying at all.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
You know, we all knew that Rogers was eventually signing
with the Steelers team. He just likes the attention of
dragging things out at the last moment. Uh. The odds
didn't really change much after the announcement. Steelers still forty
five to one, a bet MGM didn't even. Their win
totals still around eight eight and a half. Like you said, no,
no big difference there. Everyone knew what was coming. Well,
(44:47):
you know, I don't know. Can you do you consider him?
How can how successful can he be this year? Well?
I mean if he makes the playoffs, I guess that's
definitely six sucessful. I guess, especially if they win a
playoff game. I think that is a better situation for
him than he had with the Jets. And you have
(45:07):
a head coach that's been there almost two decades in
the system in place that Rogers will have to follow
if he can stay healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if
the Steelers actually do contend. I don't want to say
for the division, but I just wouldn't doubt they can
sneak into maybe a playoff spot. But I have been
(45:28):
anti Pittsburgh the last few years, so if anything, I
would probably I'm not gonna bet it, though, but if
I would see some money come in because Rogers is
the official quarterback and the line was to move a
little bit on the season wins or something, I'd be
tempted to go under. Though.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
Yeah, I think that, first off, what would be successful.
It's got to at least be a playoff win at
a bare minimum. I even think that where if they
wont's say a wild card game, and then they got
beaten pretty convincingly in the divisional round, we'd walk away saying, man,
what a successful season for Rogers and the Steelers like,
(46:10):
probably not. I can't imagine we would. You do have
to take into account they haven't won a playoff game
in eight years. It still blows my mind. I bring
this up all the time. The last time the Steelers
won a playoff game, it was at Arrowhead they beat
the Chiefs Smith That's when Antonio Brown had the Facebook
live video after the game. That's how long it's been
almost a decade. That's there was a holding penalty. Eric
(46:33):
Fisher held James Harrison to think about how that a
long time ago? Yeah, that's nice, that's not off the
touchdown that game, right, that was like what like eighteen
to sixteen.
Speaker 5 (46:48):
Or something like that. Eighteen sixteen. Yeah, that's what the
final score was.
Speaker 4 (46:52):
Nos from Boswell or whatever the kicker was at the time.
Perfect Steelers win.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
The last time. That's the epitome of a Steelers, right,
that's the last time they've won a playoff game. So
you check that box. That does mean something, but again
you get waxed the next week. I don't think we're like, man,
Rogers really brought it this season. I don't think we're
saying that at all. So I would say bare minimum,
you would least get to a conference championship game appearance
(47:20):
where it would be almost a consensus like, hey, that
was worth it, like that that was a successful season
compared to previous seasons recently. But I think Jeff hit
it on the head immediately where I just thought of
Antonio Pierce, remember the coach of the Raiders for a
little while. He said this about the Raiders, and you
(47:42):
could apply the same thing to the Steelers. Check this out.
Speaker 5 (47:45):
Whoever draft, that's the route we go. If that's who
the started becomes, you know, and again.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
I'll go back at least aiden or it's somebody draft
when we bring in you don't want to put a
band aid deposition.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
Yeah, he's talking about you don't want a band aid
at quarterback. And that's what the Raiders have had for
years and years, and the Steelers have done the same
thing at some point, like Jeff said, you got to
be bold. Look at the Chiefs. The Chiefs had Alex Smith,
who's been who was serviceable at the time, better than
what the Steelers have had behind center, and they were like, yeah,
(48:17):
we want to be special, and they swung for the
fences and they hit a grand slam with Mahomes And
I don't know why more teams don't try to do
a similar thing. You're not going to get where the
Steelers want to get by doing it the way they've
done it with signing you know, Justin Fields and Russell
Wilson now Aaron Rodgers. It's through the draft and they
(48:38):
just haven't been bold enough. Next year's draft is the
time to be bold. And we'll see if they are
or not.
Speaker 4 (48:45):
But yeah, it absolutely is next year's draft. I saw
a funny Kevin Clark, who works for ESPN I believe now,
said on the TV other day that Anthony Richardson feels
like a.
Speaker 5 (48:59):
Steeler now next year.
Speaker 4 (49:01):
And that is that where we're at right now, where
the Steelers are left with we we we have to get,
you know, a player and who completes forty er percent
past he can't stay healthy. Is that where the ste
the Pittsburgh Ers are at the spot now where we're
able to make jokes about whether or not they're going
(49:24):
to go with Anthony Richardson next season.
Speaker 5 (49:26):
Like that's what.
Speaker 4 (49:27):
There's just no faith at all that they're gonna they're
gonna do the thing necessary to get themselves in a
position to have the success that we think they need
to have that position.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
Yeah, that's and that's the thing. You combine that those
two stories, like Anthony Richardson is out indefinitely with an
ac joint issue, the Colts quarterback, so he's been bad
and he's been injured a lot. And now you look
at the Colts, they could be freaking terrible this season, right,
they might have been terrible with Anthony Richardson, probably would
(50:02):
have been. But now you've got Daniel Jones and Riley Leonard.
Next up the Notre Dame rookie quarterback who I call
the White Anthony Richardson he's a guy who can run
and can't throw very well. Right, Like, that's where the
Colts are. And that's funny. I never connected the two
where Anthony Richardson might end up in Pittsburgh. That my gosh.
(50:24):
You know, Bo Benson, our trusted producer. He said something
off the air yesterday where he was like, maybe he
goes to the Rams with Sean McVay. There'll be some
team that says, hey, he was drafted fourth overall for
a reason. He's got some ability. But you know they'll
take a shot. I just don't see how it's gonna
pay off. That's the thing. The Colts did not do
a great job at all developing this guy. He had
(50:46):
fewer than four hundred passing attempts in college and they
threw him in right away to the fire. It's like,
that was not a great move.
Speaker 4 (50:56):
I'm glad you mentioned this, Brian, because you know that
when you draft a quarterback, you have to have a plan,
and sometimes it's hard to stick to the plan. And
the reason why the Chiefs are so good and maybe
it's not, you know, Mahome is gonna be good anyways,
but they had a plan. We're not playing Mahomes that
first season, we're not playing him, and there was a
(51:17):
lot of grief about it. I remember defending that decision
for a couple of years on the internet because my
brother was on the team and he's like Alex, Butthon
is doing fine, Like I mean, like, what what do
we o?
Speaker 5 (51:28):
Mahomes is good in practice?
Speaker 4 (51:29):
Well, yeah, I mean you're running off cards, like they
put a card up in practice and say run this
play like if you like, you can do good in
those situations. Mitch never thought that he would play I
think as well as he did early in his career,
or talent was always there.
Speaker 5 (51:43):
They had a plan. We're taking to the plan.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
Now.
Speaker 5 (51:45):
Obviously things can change it.
Speaker 4 (51:47):
Maybe Alex Smith was so bad through week ten they
had to get off the plan. But the plan was
this Colet had no plan for Richardson, none because the
number one thing everyone said was dude needs reps. He
did not play much in college and one of the
colts not giving him reps. Now, part of it was
he got hurt. Obviously his first season that was two
(52:08):
years ago. Last season should have been hit. That was
last year was a second year. Correct, that should have
been his entire season should have been riginally gets every
rep possible, and they panted to put Joe Flacco in
and realized he's not good either and went back to Richardson.
They just didn't have a plan, Brian, And if you
don't have a plan National Football League for that position,
(52:29):
you're going to be the Colts. You're going to be
the Steelers. These band aids do not happen, right, You
have to develop a quarterback. And sometimes imagine if Buffalo said,
you know what, this Josh Allen guy, the one completely
fIF fifty pass after his first season, We're we're out
on Josh Allen. No, they had a plan. They stuck
(52:51):
to the plan, and Josh Allen got better. Now he's
a little bit of an outlier.
Speaker 5 (52:54):
I don't think.
Speaker 4 (52:54):
Richard's gonna complete sixty eight percent of passes anytime soon.
But the fact is they had a plan and they
worked that plan to get themselves in a position where
Josh Allen it paid off three years. You know, in
his third season. Essentially, you know, the Ravens had are
playing with Lamar. We're not gonna start him early in
his career, even though he might be ready. And when
Flaho got to the point where you have to get
you put in, you put Lamar in.
Speaker 5 (53:15):
The Colts seem to have no plan Brian whatsoever.
Speaker 3 (53:18):
None, none, real fast crack. Think about this, how it
blows my mind. The Chiefs didn't play Mahomes the first
year except for the final game of the regular season.
Right The Colts played Anthony Richardson pretty close to right away.
Just think about that, and think about the passing attempts
Anthony Richardson in college three hundred and ninety three passing attempts.
Speaker 5 (53:39):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
Mahomes in college thirteen hundred and forty nine in the
neighborhood of a thousand more passing attempts in college for Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (53:48):
Yeah, Richardson has the same injury that he had the
force from the mistand there's rookie season. The Colts have
to wonder if he's just damaged. Goods may be strong,
but I'm not sure exactly how he got injured. But
for a quarterback, he plays with such reckless style that
I'm not shocked that he got hurt again. It seems
like he just doesn't protect himself on the field like
(54:10):
most quarterbacks do, and almost reminds me of an early
RJ three or RG three a little bit. You know.
I look at the season wins though, and they're over
under seven and a half. Still, I think it's probably
about right. I'm not on either side. If anything, maybe
lean to the under a little bit. Listen, they still
play in the worst division. That's what I think. In
(54:32):
the NFL. I don't think Daniel Jones is as bad
as everyone makes him out to be. I mean, maybe
he'd be a good starter here and revive his at
the end of his career a little bit. Jonathan Taylor
still looks to have all the tools to be a
dominant running back two in the league. So their offensive
line is probably above average. I think the offense can
(54:52):
be efficient enough to win eight or nine games, but
it's gonna fall a lot on their defense, which was
not good last year. So that's my take on this
whole team. I'm not even though I say they have
a you know, they could be efficient enough to win
eight nine games, I'm not looking to bet the over.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
So yeah. Well, and the other thing is it's connected
to that correlated crack as you would say, but Colts
to make the playoffs, that know is minus two to ten.
Do you see the Colts in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
I do not.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
I don't see them sniffing the playoffs, even though they're
in a bad division.
Speaker 5 (55:27):
I just.
Speaker 3 (55:29):
The Colts supporting cast Is Giants like. I don't see
how Daniel Jones, who struggled with the Giants, all of
a sudden comes to the Colts and is flourishing. I
don't see that.
Speaker 4 (55:40):
So to make the playoffs, you'd have to win the division,
would we assume, right? Because the South is not getting
two teams in the playoffs, So are you better than Houston?
I don't think so either. Maybe Liam Cohen gets things
revived a little bit in Jacksonville, and then.
Speaker 3 (55:58):
I like Jacksonville more than the Colts.
Speaker 5 (56:00):
And then Tennessee.
Speaker 4 (56:01):
I think it can be feisty, right, like they're gonna
they're gonna sneak up and probably upset a couple of
teams this year. Cam Ward has a game or two right,
and as a rookie, And yeah, I minus two ten.
Speaker 5 (56:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (56:11):
I laid minus two seventy five on the thunder the
other night. Minus two ten doesn't scare me if you
think it's a piecent wager. So I don't know. I
mean to be fair. I do have the Pacers at
plus three hundred to win the finals too, so I
have a little bit of leeway here on some of
those those wages I've made. So I was waiting for
(56:32):
that serious price to come down that the serious price
was minus seven fifty, and then Thunder lost one game.
I dropped five dollars like it's crazy, and I was like, sure,
sign me up for that. If they win tonight, it's
going back up to five hundred, right, five six hundred,
and so I'll take that way. So yeah, I think
the cults are not making the playoffs. It's hard to
(56:53):
wager on teams to do well that I think don't
have a plan. Back to the original point, right, like
right there you go the Giants, Like the Giants for example,
I actually they do have a plan, right Russell Wilson's
gonna play and then Jackson Dart probably sits most of
the year if they can afford to do that. And
I like that they have a plan, Like they have
a plan. Colts have no plan. Daniel Jones is not
a plan. It's not a plan. The fact that even
(57:16):
there was a discussion about a rotation a battle in
camp for those two guys. To me felt like, Nope,
that's not a plan, and that's not a Dalel Jones
is what he is, you know what he is already.
That's not a plan that I heard, of course, and look,
the late Jim Mersey was going to be involved in
the decision making process.
Speaker 5 (57:37):
What why he's an owner? Why is he making decisions
for who's playing starting quarterback?
Speaker 4 (57:42):
It's not like this is the you know, like even
though when an owner would be involved just to draft, right,
the owner has to vet the quarterback you're drafting.
Speaker 5 (57:51):
That's the only thing owners involved in.
Speaker 4 (57:52):
They're not involved in day to day looking at practice
video DECI used to play quarterback for you, So to me,
it's it's a mess man. And for some reason, Chris
Ballo gets a pass every year. I don't get it.
Andeick retired like eight years ago. Guys, you gotta move on.
Speaker 3 (58:10):
Yeah, oh, it's well said. All right, We've got Bill Krachenberger,
professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm
Brian No next time I fill in in India reaching
out to you, Schwartz to get all these things out there.
The people in Indianapolis need to hear this. You know
it's all true. Hey, score bigger at bet MGM when

BETMGM today and you'll have access to countless basketball betting options,

Speaker 1 (59:26):
Follow the money, real good money.
Speaker 3 (59:29):
We will get to a Christian Sippolini, our good friend here. Momentarily.
We're connecting with him right now, bet MGM trading manager.
I'm sure he's getting all the facts and figures set
to impress us with all this Steelers money that's been
flowing in now that Rogers is signed, right, I would
imagine that's the case.
Speaker 5 (59:46):
I had a lot of questions for him today. I
want to know.
Speaker 4 (59:51):
Why they adjusted the series price so violently after game one. Yeah,
it's a bigger it's it's a big, a big adjustment there. Also,
there's some others have got a hockey question to ask
him about points leader for the series. It's a lot
of a lot of you know the hockey. By the way,
two overtime games so far, one won by the Oilers
one by four. It does fuck a seven game series, right,
(01:00:13):
I mean, this is a it's a heavyweight battle between
both these teams. They go back to Florida now for
for for game three tomorrow night. It feels like it's
gonna be a battle. It's a been a lot of
fun to watch this so far.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
It has been crazy. The way the last game ended
with Marsha and it wasn't even a shot. You know,
He's like Pokole guided the puck in there and it
went through. It's crazy, crazy, but a lot of entertainment. Right,
two overtime games, very.
Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
Good, it's been. Uh, it's been, it's been fantastic. So
hopefully uh, you know the econor McDavid right now. Uh
so he's minus two ten two have the most points
of the series and he doesn't yet. So after two
(01:01:06):
games he still is not. He didn't have the you know,
the the leading points. So I'm surprised why that number
is what we'll ask some questions here. I'm looking forward
to it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
Yeah, we'll connect with him momentarily. We'll see it might be.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
Highest money line on tonight's game. Boy, I'll tell you
what that's gonna be. Probably my question to him. They
want nothing to do with anyone betting, Okay, see money
line tonight. Yeah, they're they're they're industry and in the
whole entire industry out of there's no one even well
not that anyone's not closed. There's a couple of people
at six to one. He's their minus six to one,
(01:01:40):
and uh, there's there's like some minus five five and
a half to once, so they want nothing to do
with anyone betting money line tonight. That shows me that maybe,
uh there was a lot of money line coming in soa.
But when we connect with him, that's gonna be my angle,
uh to see if people just throw them in there,
you know, like like I said the first game, Yeah,
just throw OKC and minus five to one. That'll just
(01:02:03):
enhance my Marlee.
Speaker 5 (01:02:05):
I'm guilty, crack. I'm sorry, Yeah, I'm guilty.
Speaker 4 (01:02:08):
The Dream also lost to the Sun, so that that
my parlay would have won anyways.
Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
Actually it makes you feel a lot better then, I mean, yeah,
because this was the only leg of the parlay that
you lose, you know, a ten point favorite in the
NBA Hope home you know home favorite in that last
second shot. Wow, that would have been a terrible event.
Speaker 5 (01:02:29):
You're not going to like this, crack.
Speaker 4 (01:02:30):
But they're back in the parlay today with North Carolina.
Speaker 5 (01:02:35):
It's Arizona and Noon, and I threw.
Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
In the money line.
Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
The money line, Yeah, I did the money. New York Mets,
New York Mets against the Rockies. Never a bad wager.
North Carolina. I think we'll beat Arizona today. I know, Brian,
you text me that I was so busy. I'm sorry
to answer you. Yes, they're about to over in that
game because there was a eighteen there were there were
a twenty run scoring. Game one was eighteen to two
Carolina one. There were eighteen runs bored yesterday between Caroline Arizona. Look,
(01:03:02):
it is hot in the Carolina's right now, that balls
flying out of that park. It's day three between these
two teams. What's funny is Arizona's pitching has been really
good the last three weeks until they went up to
to Chapel Hill. What's funny though, in Durham they're only
eleven rounds yesterday between Duke of Murray State, So obviously
those teams are not as good as as UNC and Arizona.
(01:03:23):
But I think UNC wins game three today. I got
a twenty one future of them crack to win the
Cult World Series. I think that that's seven to one
before in Super Regional, so hopefully they can get through
here Beavers I think win tonight. It's a it's a
you know, crack, Here's I get you right? Minus one
and fifteen both ways today for Oregon State Florida State. Yeah, right, like,
(01:03:47):
how how thoughtful?
Speaker 3 (01:03:49):
Yeah? Well, hey you could you could bring this up
to Christian Cippolini right now if you would like. We've
got Christian Cippolini with us bet MGM Trading Manager. Good
morning to you, Christian. I was just joking around, are
you You've been busy, like counting up all of these
wagers on the Steelers to what win the division, get
(01:04:09):
to the super Bowl, win the super Bowl, all that
type of stuff with Rogers now signed, sealed and delivered.
Is that what's going on with you?
Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:04:17):
We have an interesting every year with Pittsburgh. They are
one of our more bet on teams. We somehow always
have liability on them despite them being you know, fifty
to one, sixty to one every year.
Speaker 5 (01:04:28):
I guess we just have.
Speaker 7 (01:04:29):
A cohort of faithful the Steeler fans. But yeah, they're
they're surprisingly one of the teams that we do have
the post liability on and for some reason, it's every year.
Speaker 4 (01:04:40):
So after the thunder lost Game one, you know, they
were minus seven hundred ish favorite to win the series,
that number dropped immediately down to about two seventy five
to simplease that two fifty it's gone back up a
little bit. I was able to get that that two
to seventy five number. Do you think you guys moved
it a little bit too violently after that loss? Because
I just think that that's that still feels cheap for
(01:05:02):
a Thunder team that I think is gonna win the series,
even the pace and a lot of things go right
in the fourth quarter to.
Speaker 5 (01:05:07):
Win that game.
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
Yeah right.
Speaker 7 (01:05:10):
I mean they're eleven ten and a half point favorite
today and anytime they're gonna be home, they're gonna be
pretty close to double digits, you know, barring another Pacers
victory today something like that. You know, And I think
that's why I've seen the price kind of come back.
While it was certainly a shocking first game, you know,
(01:05:31):
the numbers and statistics still say that this is still
the Thunders series to win.
Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
Yeah, Christian, I hate Bill Krackenberger here. So you guys
are minus six to one. A couple of big sports
books from minus six to one. That shows me you
probably don't want any more money line people trying to
enhance their parlays today or whatever, just throwing the money
line in. Okay. See, and I'm guessing the first game.
From the people I talk to around town here, I'm
(01:06:00):
guessing the first game was really good for you guys.
Speaker 7 (01:06:04):
Well, the first game was actually just okay. We have
had more people betting the Pacers, and a lot of
it just is at that price point. Sometimes it's just
a juicy kind of number. It's hard to bet the
Thunder money line it minus five hundred for a lot
of just casual, regular public players. So you know, we'll
take Thunder bets that munus ten and a half, but
(01:06:26):
you sometimes even that's a little bit steep to the player.
And this Pacers team has been a team that's come back,
So even from the live set of things, you know,
we'll end up taking bets as they go down just
from what they've done this entire playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Gotcha, how much action have you seen Christian on the
Pacers say, like in game money line, this is the
fourth time they've done it with a huge comeback win
in these playoffs when they're down by fifteen in the
fourth quarter to ok see, do you see a number
of bets come in where people are like, oh, it's
perfect time to strike Pacers to win out right.
Speaker 7 (01:07:02):
Yeah, And it's been a bit of the story for
this entire playoff, because even the Knicks, we're doing that
a few times. A few series back, there's been a
lot of this playoffs of a team going down twenty
points and then coming right back up, So that trend
is picked up, at least in public settings. So once
a team goes down by a lot, at this point,
the book is saying, all right to not come back
(01:07:23):
because usually you know you're getting them at plus eight hundred,
plus one thousand, whatever it may be, how much they're down,
and that adds up from even a little bit of
bets here and there. So what we have, Yeah, to
the answer the question, we have seen a lot of
action in games.
Speaker 4 (01:07:38):
The Stanley Cup Finals heads to a game three tomorrow
to two games, two overtimes, one Oilers win and one
Panthers win. Where are you guys sitting right now at
this series? Anything you guys need here in the last stuff,
it does feel like we'll get into a seven game
series here, and I don't think any.
Speaker 5 (01:07:56):
Doubt about that one.
Speaker 7 (01:07:59):
Yeah, as a fan and a bookmaker, just rooting for
seven in this series for sure, multiple reasons from the
book side, you know, the more games would get, the
better and even from this series, oilers are losing outcome
for us, but they're not a crazy losing outcome. And
as this series goes on, we have been taking more
and more Florida action to kind of even things out.
(01:08:20):
So really, from the books, for aspective, it's just give
us more games, more action, much more fun because it
has been an incredible series so far.
Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Christian, going back to this Indiana Oklahoma City game, so
will you find most of the action again coming in
tonight closer to game time, because you guys are hanging
a ten and a half. I only see maybe one
or two ten and a half on the screen. It's
all eleven's painted, there's a couple ten, but you guys
are at ten and a half. Will you find most
(01:08:50):
of your action and probably coming in late on the
game before the game and also do you expect it
to be Oklahoma City late or you still may hang
out around this ten and a half number?
Speaker 7 (01:09:03):
Yeah, well, we will try to hang around half points
as much as we can, you know, and in this game,
as it's not a you know, as we're in a
double digit spread, there isn't a crazy difference for us,
and we'd rather just avoid the pushes, and you know,
we're willing to just say, okay, you know, if you
(01:09:23):
want to come bet the Thunder with us, go ahead.
We're actually we've actually had things flipped from a future's perspective.
I have to be a bit cryptic and vague from
what I can share, but we did take a huge
bet on the Thunder to win the finals before Game one,
one of the largest bets we've ever taken, I believe,
one of the largest bets in US history. And the
(01:09:44):
varad has splipped things for us where we were rooting
for the Thunder the whole time, but now now we're
very much okay with the Pacers winning. Even that's you know,
just why we're sitting with our line. You know, we're
okay with taking some Thunder bets today.
Speaker 3 (01:09:57):
Wow, interesting good stuff. Hey man, always great, Christian, appreciate
your time and hope you have a good Sunday.
Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
Yeah, you guys too, Thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
Thanks as always, Thank you man. It's Christian Zippolini bet
MGM Trading Manager. We got all these features and now
the marquis the headliner. That would be Isaac Loewenkron, who's
got the latest. I know what's going on Buddy Brian.
Speaker 6 (01:10:21):

Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
With a seve out Why the backhand zimp play across

Speaker 4 (01:10:32):
Oh it missus on the top of the ten and
after an hour and two minutes of play.
Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
See says I got there. It is a first set.
Speaker 4 (01:10:42):
Fani Senna, who is still yet to drop a set.
Speaker 6 (01:10:46):
At Roland Garros twenty twenty five, he breaks for six

the second set tonight at eight Eastern Game two of
the NBA Finals from Oklahoma City, with the Indiana Pacers
leading the thunder one game den on baseball Saturday night,
Joe Adele hit two home runs in the Angels eight
(01:11:08):
to six win over Seattle, but the Mariners Cal Rawley
also hit two home runs at a losing cause. He
now is twenty six to lead the Majors, three ahead
of Shoho Toddi. The New York Mets won in Colorado
eight to one. The Mets with the best record of
the National League at forty one and twenty four and finally, Fellas,
We'll leave you with this. Sal Capaccio, who is the
(01:11:30):
Buffalo Bills radio sideline reporter tweeted a short time ago quote,
the NFL's first regular season Sunday is thirteen weeks from today.
I can't decide if that's close or still pretty far away.
Unquote deep thoughts to consider.
Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
Back to you, guys, very deep thoughts. Thank you. Ilo.
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by Bett MGM.
It's funny. It's like the ball season seems far away
and then you blink and you're like, holy cow, it's
a week away. That's how it seems every off season.
It's just me. You guys feel like that too.
Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
It feels that way all the time, and and it'll
be here. It'll be here before we know it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Yeah, looking forward to it. I know you can't wait
for preseason football betting action over there.
Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
Crack oh wow, right, I didn't know it was in
the July calendar. I just figured August first week.
Speaker 5 (01:12:26):
Yeah, is it?
Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
Jeff the Chargers and yeah, who's.
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
Uh, whoever whoever has Hall of Famers, that's who they
put in there, so I'll be serious. Whoever, whoever has
the Hall of Fame class. If you look at who's
it's two teams typically they have Hall of Fame player
being inducted that season. I mean it's Chargers, and there's
Chargers and two coaches that are gonna want to win
(01:12:53):
the game.
Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
So trying to.
Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
Numbers Chargers and Lions.
Speaker 5 (01:13:00):
It's yeah, it's just two coaches that are gonna want
to win.
Speaker 4 (01:13:02):
Like it's any of those games where like the over
like there's gonna keep the under wall be like the
totally like thirty.
Speaker 5 (01:13:07):
Two and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
I just that's what it is.
Speaker 5 (01:13:10):
Oh it is thirty two and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
Yep, yeah, that's exactly right. I shoulday I should know
that number.
Speaker 2 (01:13:17):
I first came up there. I wanted to say, yes,
bet MGM has it, So thirty two and a half
one and a half Lions.
Speaker 4 (01:13:23):
I should know what a preseason number is for the
haw of end game. But I may or not have
voager on that many times. The overfield is very appropriate.
This game was both coaches are going to play to
the final freaking whistle.
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
You parlayed that with thunder moneyline game two, right.
Speaker 4 (01:13:39):
I probably I probably should. Yeah, that would be, that
would be. That'll be smart of me.
Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
Yeah, all right. We've got a Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper.
Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian. No score

Speaker 1 (01:14:52):
It up player plays.
Speaker 3 (01:14:55):
Yes, the prop betting market crack, you love it, you
live for it, with something you like today, Let's go with.
Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
Aaron NEI Smith over four and a half rebounds up
to about a bucks sixty. He dominated the glass in
game one with twelve boards and actually could have had
three or four more. Really, so with them our guarden
SGA puts Nie Smith Don Williams, who does not do
a great job boxing out, and in game one Thunder
(01:15:22):
seam to want to get back on defense rather than
crash the boards. So I see a lot of opportunities
here for Nie Smith to get some rebounds and game two,
assuming to Thunder keep the same game plan. So Nie
Smith over four and a half rebounds, I'm okay with
actually going over five and a half minus one ten. Also,
(01:15:43):
but I see I see over four and a half
minus one fifty five one sixty. I'm also okay going
over five and a half minus one ten.
Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
Right, there are a lot of fat opportunities in this
game up a Game one. Some of them are very pricey.
I'll be topping under one point five threes is minus
one seventy five. I don't think that just feels like
you have to find a way to maybe parlay that
with something else. That just feels like a big number
to lay on that. But I do think when you
look at at rebounds, uh siakam under seven and a
(01:16:14):
half rebounds he had I believe ten in game one. Brian, Yeah,
he has not had that many rebounds this postseason. He's
only had. Looking at at his at his game log,
you end up getting, you know, a lot, a lot
less than than than that.
Speaker 5 (01:16:30):
You know, you have what five six, five four.
Speaker 4 (01:16:34):
And I think tonight, I think the Thunder going to
crash the glass better. I gonna have the big guys
in the lineup more often the other one. I like
in this game I told you to chat over that
was in the parlay platter. You can get combined assists
between s J and Hollie Burn over fifteen and a
half Hali Burn, we know kind of assist in game one.
I think the Thunder are not going to let him
(01:16:54):
get his shot again tonight. You have to pass the
ball a bunch, and I think SGA today he looks
to pass the ball more. The Thunder game one had
very low assists. Brian, That's not how you want to
be a winning basketball team. And I think with the
big guys play more to you, he'll find more ways
to get some assists. I like combined fifteen and a
(01:17:15):
half assists for both those guys.
Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
Yeah, here where you're coming from. I like your breakdown
on SGA. That makes sense, especially if the big guys
get more playing time. I don't know about Halliburton, just
by the way OKC defends where they just clogged the
paint and you see that time and time again. Haliburton
loves to drive and kick out and there just aren't
as many opportunities. So I'm curious what he ends up
(01:17:40):
with just his assist total here in game two, I'm
gonna look at, like, which one do you think is grosser?
I think I know your answer based on a previous pick.
But there's Chet going back to the Chet, Well, he
was freaking terrible in games on. Yeah, he's gonna get
more playing time. They're gonna be much more focused on
(01:18:00):
not getting worked on the glass. They actually have a
rebounding advantage. Out reading rebounded by seventeen in game one
is a joke. So you've got chet at a discount
rebounds eight and a half and points fourteen and a half.
I would imagine you think the points a little bit grosser,
Is that right, Jeff?
Speaker 4 (01:18:21):
Yeah, I'll tell you what, though, you get Check to
have a double double plus one eighty five, I don't,
I don't. I don't hate that to ten rebounds, yeah,
you know, just only, but that feels like I'm gonna
make that bet right now. I think one eight five
here on bet MGM to have a double double. I
think he I hate this. For the Thunder to have
(01:18:42):
a success that they need tonight, they need Check to
be a seventeen and twelve guy, like he has to
play that well today.
Speaker 3 (01:18:49):
So I love that.
Speaker 4 (01:18:50):
Look a bounce back zig zag is what we do
in the postseason, Brian. It's hard to fade because I
think these numbers are going a little bit high, like
you know, my one seventy five on the OBI topping one.
But I think this is the way you have to
do this today is look at Chat to have a
better game.
Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
It happens all the time. Man, the last thing you
saw he was awful. Six points, six rebounds, and you're thinking,
oh gosh, he's got to get over fourteen and a half.
It's not as hard as it might sound, especially against
the facers not known for lockdown defense. I'm gonna make
that beat too. I'll take chet double double. But I
think over eight and a half rebounds over fourteen and
(01:19:27):
a half points, both solid plays. I like you, guys
are firing. We're firing away crack. We're not even scared.
I gotta have the nerves of a burglar, you know
what I mean. That's the way it goes in playoff betting.
All right, coming up next, the adjustments backfired big time.
Will we see a different approach tonight? That's on the way. Oh,
(01:19:49):
welcome and happy Sunday too. You hope your day is
off to a great start. Well, we see a readjustment
to the original adjustments tonight. That is on the way. Hey,
use code countdown at bet GM to receive up to
fifteen hundred dollars back in bonus bets if you don't
win your first bet. When you're registered with bet MGM,
you'll get instant access to a variety of parlay selection features,
live betting options, signature bets, the best daily promotions in
(01:20:13):
the business. Again, use code countdown and you'll get up
to fifteen hundred dollars back in bonus bets if you
don't win your first bet. All right, guys, So we've
touched on it here and there. But Mark dagnauld, the
Oklahoma City thunder head coach, not a great game. Won
actually pretty freaking terrible. So he tinkered with the starting lineup,
(01:20:34):
which was odd. He benched Hartenstein in favor of Case
and Wallace. I say, oh, okay, you guys won sixty
eight games, you have the best point differential in the
history of the NBA, and you're tinkering with the starting lineup.
It's kind of odd. It backfired. He went small ball
in the fourth quarter. That backfired big time as well.
(01:20:55):
You had Indiana chew up OKC on the boards. Fifty
six to thirty nine was the rebounding edge for the Pacers.
Pacers are not a good rebounding team, and they killed Oka.
See so I don't see how you don't readjust the
original adjustment and put Hartenstein back in the starting lineup.
(01:21:16):
I know chet Holmgren's numbers have been a lot better
without Hartenstein out there compared to with Hartenstein out there.
That's the reason for the change. But it backfired. How
do you run it back in game two? When it
backfired that badly in game one?
Speaker 4 (01:21:30):
So I was listening to a podcast. I'll give the
credit to the podcast when I talked about what Diagnal
did there, and they made the arguments that he basically
decided to go with the optimal lineup he thought would
win them the series before the usual like, oh, we
(01:21:52):
figured out second half as the lineup we want. He
went with that originally. But I think the point you're making,
Brian is a very good point, where it's like, but
why you don't know yet? Right, Like, you don't know
that's the optimal lineup because you haven't played the Pacers
in the current form the Pacers are in. Just do
what you did to get you yourself here. Why change
anything that you've done. What you've done is gotten you
(01:22:14):
to this point, and it very clearly was a tree
the error when you get out rebounded by sixteen rebounds
a team, the Pacers averaged thirty nine rebounds a game
of the postseason They're not a rebounding team, and yet
you let them.
Speaker 5 (01:22:29):
Siakam had ten, Niemien had.
Speaker 4 (01:22:32):
Twelve, but you let a small forward get twelve rebounds
with two of your monster big men. And then as
soon Harnessy came in and immediately got like seven rebounds
like it. And then I thought that at the very end,
I made this mental note, and they even text you, Brian,
with three minutes left to go. Okay, see went small.
(01:22:53):
They came out with three minutes left to win small,
and I get it was. It was because the matchup
of the Indiana big men. By playing on the perimeter right,
they're not inside, and it is a little bit of
a mismatch. Obi Topping against check Check doesn't move as well.
But like if Obi toping and Miles Turning to beat,
you gi him a high five man. You move on
to game two. Don't change what you do for Obi
(01:23:16):
Topping and Miles Turner. You know it just it did
that just to me was bad balling. It's his first finals.
He'll learn Rick Carlisle, by the way, been here before,
done it before.
Speaker 3 (01:23:26):
It.
Speaker 4 (01:23:27):
Think it's hugely important for your success in these moments, crack.
Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
So this is why I think again.
Speaker 4 (01:23:33):
Game one, Pacers out rebounded the Thunder by sixteen. The
Pacers had twenty six offensive turnovers, and their transition defense
was great because the Thunder only scored eleven points off
turnovers twenty five turnovers eleven points off turnovers. The Pacers
shot better than the Thunder that eighteen threes the Thunder
(01:23:55):
had eleven. I think we see the exactly opposite stat
line in this game. Or the Thunder make more threes,
the Thunder have more rebounds, they don't. The thundered off
twenty five turnovers, Brian, but the Pacers have seven, eight, nine, ten,
somewhere around the average, and the Thunder went easily even
though everything's reversed. You know, it seems like that would
(01:24:16):
be backwards. But that's I think, because that's what has
to happen in game too for okayc to win this game.
Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
You know, I really don't think the adjustments backfire, maybe
even even at all. I mean, they controlled the Okays.
He controlled the ball forty seven of forty eight minutes
of the game. You know, they ConTroll the game. I'm saying,
you know, like until the Pacers made one of the
craziest comebacks in history. I just don't expect them to
(01:24:42):
change much of what they did in Game one, except
maybe double team Haliburton late in the fourth quarter if
it's a close one. But you know, speaking of coaches,
you really have to give like give it to Carlisle.
I mean, no one thought the Pacers could make it
this far. Carlisle has done a masterful job with this team.
They all play so unselfish and even though Halliburton gets
(01:25:04):
the credit for the game winners, you know, any of
the the five on the floor at anytime really can
beat you though. So you know, they really have that
old saying that team basketball, that's them and they just
never give up. A big credit to coach Carla for
this run, even if they don't end up with the championship.
Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
You just can't get out rebounded the way OKC did.
That matters, like that's the last thing you have to
do defensively as a defense, like rebound the ball and
now you can go to the other end try to score.
And yet Miles Turner, this is what stands out the
most to me. So Miles Turner's rebounding prop bet heading
into Game one was five and a half. The guy
(01:25:44):
had nine total rebounds. Five of those were offensive rebounds.
Those are second possessions right there. He almost got his
over with offensive rebounds. That should never happen. You should
not have no chet, no Hertenstein at the end of
a game. And it's the weird thing to me. It's
like it would be like like Mike Tyson prime Mike
(01:26:08):
Tyson walking into a fight and you dictate terms you're
the favorite. It'd be like Tyson saying, you know, I'm
not gonna use my uppercut tonight. I'm gonna work the
jab a lot more. It'd be like, why would you
do that? This is one of your main advantages. It's
like OKAC proactively took away one of its advantages. And
(01:26:29):
it's like, why you guys are eighty and eighteen heading
into Game one of the finals and you're tinkering with
the offensive lineup or with the starting lineup, Like why
it was just an unnecessary proactive adjustment. That's to me,
something that you would just midway through a series and say,
we're gonna change things up because we've seen it, to
(01:26:51):
Jeff's point, play out this way and we're getting worked
by these quicker perimeter players are bigs like Hartenstein is
a draft on skates out there trying to guard the
three point line. Then you adjust, but the proactive adjustment
I just totally disagree with. And the results show you that,
you know, if it worked out in their favor, I
(01:27:12):
tip my cap and be like, hey, that worked out.
It didn't work out at all in game one, So
I don't know how you don't tinker with that again,
go back to what got you there in game two.
Speaker 4 (01:27:23):
I agree, and I think that they they're gonna they're
gonna have to do that tonight, which is why I
think game one, I don't, you know, I just don't
know if that it matters obviously because it happened, but
just feels like this game is gonna be a lot
(01:27:44):
different if because I think Okay See will play the
way that they need to play, probably I imagine goes better
in their favor.
Speaker 3 (01:27:56):
Yeah, there's gotta be much more of a mitment on
rebounding just in general. I remember texting you, Jeff at
the beginning of the game where okayc It's like they
didn't have on the offensive end, they didn't have anyone
in the paint to rebound that all were on the perimeter.
And it was like, Oh, we missed a shot, let's
(01:28:17):
go play defense. It's like, what are you guys doing?
When you look at these rebounding numbers? All five pacers,
starters hit their over with their rebounding props. A couple
of bench guys hit their rebounding overs as well. You should, never, ever, ever,
as the Thunder, have Aaron Nesmith be the leading rebounder
(01:28:39):
in a game. He had twelve rebounds, that is prop
was four and a half. Ye if you go back
to the previous series against the Knicks, you know he
had two seven, seven, three, two and three. He was
four and two to the under. That's typically around four
and a half five and a half rebounds per game,
(01:29:00):
and he had twelve against Okay, what are they doing?
Like Aaron Nesmith should have nowhere near twelve rebounds in
a game. He should have twelve rebounds over three games collect.
Speaker 2 (01:29:10):
DRAF over fifty five is the line that at MGM
tonight too interesting interesting? Yeah, I know you guys, Let
me answer you. Jeff. Now, you had long day yesterday,
long day this morning. Get up, You're gonna fly back.
If Okay sees up by double digits in the fourth quarter,
you just you just that's it. You gotta go to
bed or do you step this whole thing?
Speaker 5 (01:29:30):
You know me pretty well? How am I going to
be anyways? Buddy?
Speaker 2 (01:29:33):
Right right?
Speaker 3 (01:29:35):
It?
Speaker 4 (01:29:35):
Why not matter what the game was closer or not?
I mean, ione, so someone's asking me something. Yesterday I
woke up at uh SO Friday night. I coached my
daughter's at U softball game. It was like ninety one
degrees at six pm. It was brutal. It was a
lot of fun though. I got home packed, woke up
at five o'clock. What's the airport, flew out here, drove
out to Belmont, was on air for six hours, came
(01:29:56):
back last night with the dinner last I did. He went
to bed last night at eleven or whatever, and just
like nap, just like a nap. And I'm like, I
just I don't really nap. I just adjust my time
I go to bed the next day. I don't know,
I just don't. I don't I don't nap, So my
adjustment will probably go to bed at like halftime.
Speaker 5 (01:30:14):
I don't know, I mean hopefully.
Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
The thing about it is like when you gamble, you know,
you just sometimes you just stay up to see if
your rebound prop pits.
Speaker 5 (01:30:22):
It's not. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:30:25):
If Chat were to come out tonight and get me
like nine and seven in the first half, I'd probably okay.
Speaker 5 (01:30:30):
Going to bed.
Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
Unlike the w n B A when that happens and
they don't go over any other over, they're overs. Guess
fuck in the NBA, if you have a good first
half and you're like a marquee player, you end up
going over the w n B A is I I
think nothing, you can you can have you know A.
The other day we Brian and I were both on
(01:30:52):
Jones on Liberty over rebounds four in the first five
minutes sprain ankle and I never, I know, this is
very selfish, talk about your problem. Someone gets hurt, I
hope she's okay. Obviously it never happened to the other direction.
We have the under on someone they get hurt. I
think never, never, one time, never, one time. So I
(01:31:12):
will I don't know, man, crack eight o'clock or a
thirty tonight?
Speaker 5 (01:31:17):
Which one is it?
Speaker 2 (01:31:18):
Eight?
Speaker 3 (01:31:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:31:21):
So ten thirty eleven, you go.
Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Earlier, start time, you can make it. You can get that.
Speaker 5 (01:31:28):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
All my baseball wagers will be done by then. As well,
so I don't know. We'll see, but you, Hey, guys,
my phone's on silent. Just text me to the night
I wake up to. I wake up to a lot
of times, text messages about the game. I'm currently falling
asleep while watching people like a.
Speaker 3 (01:31:45):
Bunch from me, Like one more from Chet. We need
one more?
Speaker 5 (01:31:48):
Come on.
Speaker 4 (01:31:49):
I must be dead asleep while Brian is just texting away.
So I don't know, buddy, We'll see, We'll see how
it goes. I can't promise anything.
Speaker 3 (01:31:58):
All right, We've got Bill Crack and professional sports handicapper
Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm bribly in no hey.
Shortly after the show, our podcast would be going up.
If you missed anything on today's show, be sure to
check it out. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you
get your podcasts. Be sure to also follow rate and
review it again. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you
get your podcasts, and you'll see the show posted right
(01:32:20):
after we get off the air. All right, Coming up next,
we'll have the Buffet, the debut of the Buffet momentarily
a bunch of different sports, bunch of different headlines. We'll
hit on them. Rapid fire style. Also this coming up,
are you in favor of this monstrous change happening? It
(01:32:40):
is Fox Sports Radio's Countdown presented by BETMGM. It is
Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by bet MGM. So you
see the headlines all over the place. Amateurism is dead.
So the story is schools can now pay athletes directly. Yeah,
(01:33:00):
beginning July. First, I'm curious what you guys think about this.
Are you in favor of the change happening where athletes
are being able to they're able to get paid directly
from their university?
Speaker 5 (01:33:12):
All right? So yeah, go ahead, lots of thoughts about this.
Speaker 4 (01:33:17):
We don't talk about college sports, you know, as much
on the show because we're typically before NFL Sunday. But
you know, I love college football. You love college football, Brian.
I'm sure Cracks loves wager on the FCS every Saturday. Look,
I don't know if this settlement is good for college sports.
(01:33:38):
And let me explain why the NIL when it was
originally allowed three thinking now four summers will be three
summers I believe ago maybe four in July allowed players
to profile the names you like this Now, of course,
with that there's no regulations, which is another story.
Speaker 5 (01:33:59):
But with that came.
Speaker 4 (01:34:01):
Athletes being able to earn money and earn money different ways, right.
One of them was the what we thought it would be.
You know, you get sponsored by a brand, a company
and you make money that way. And of course, because
there was nothing in place, people were getting paid just
to show up right to schools. It wasn't what the
point of it was. But then again, I'd argue that
who cares, because that's you're in any other support you're
(01:34:22):
a lot to just or any other walk of life.
You can get paid whatever someone's willing to pay you.
No one really batsny at that, right, And it was
going along ass as it was. And what it did
for college football is it gave us a little bit
of parody Brian, Right, Like the top schools weren't getting
all the recruits that.
Speaker 5 (01:34:39):
They used to.
Speaker 4 (01:34:40):
And last year we had a year when we had
a lot of good teams, right, or how's it end
up being the best team in the country. And this
settlement what it does is it sort of is the
first wave of compliance of nil era.
Speaker 5 (01:34:55):
Correct.
Speaker 4 (01:34:57):
But two, it's going to limit the earning power of
athletes because what it's gonna do is it takes this
twenty million dollars pool, and along with the twenty million
dollar pool, you now have to register the money you're
making with the Compliance Department. Third party nils, I believe
are going to be outlawed and it's just gonna stop
(01:35:20):
the earning power, you know. Example, and this is what
I think to me, it should be for the Texas
Tech softball pitcher. Right, she's incredible. She got a million
dollars to go from Stanford to texta yeah ya bad
for Stanford, sure, absolutely good for Texas Tech. She got
up to the College World Series first one ever. There's
the only reason why she pitched incredible and then she's
(01:35:42):
got another million dollars like a day before the settlement's happened.
According to what I've read, Brian, the settlement would have
limited her to zero dollars. That collective would not be allowed.
It's a third party collective would not be allowed. That
to me doesn't fee out the spirit of what NL
should be. This feels like, you know, control, and this
came from a lawsuit. I think the players are gonna
(01:36:04):
regret that they filed this lawsuit. And this was a
settlement and so it's twenty million dollars the schools allowed
to pay the players. There is some back pay. My
wife asked me. I'm like, babe, I'm old. I know
backpay for me. I promise you on that one. And
I I just don't think this is gonna last long.
(01:36:24):
It's gonna be very detrimental schools that can't afford to
pay their players this money. There's a lot of schools
that are uh, not profitable in athletic department, and now
they're gonna be less profitable. It's potentially gonna get rid
of a lot of sports because you had to. You
had to find the twenty millions somewhere to pay these players.
And it's gonna it's gonna come from the budget of
(01:36:45):
your lacrosse team, your wrestling team, your swimming team.
Speaker 5 (01:36:48):
It's gonna come at the expense of that.
Speaker 4 (01:36:51):
And Brent, I just don't think this is good for
what the goal of this is supposed to be, which
is a player is making as much money as they can.
And I get get people, I get it, I get it.
You're gonna say, well, there needs to be some regulation,
but why we don't do that in any other we
don't do that any other walk of life. If if
I told you I was making X amount of money here,
you wouldn't be like, regulate his salary, you wouldn't. They're
(01:37:13):
getting paid to play the sport. So I don't like it.
I don't think it's good for what the intended goal
of this is. And I'm curious.
Speaker 5 (01:37:20):
Hell on the settlement last, very good take, Very good take.
Speaker 2 (01:37:23):
Yeah, I mean I'm in favor of some changes, but
I think the NCAA needs to regulate this better and
there won't need to be a restriction to some sort
of cap so that the schools with the most money,
like you said, can't just dominate every sports season.
Speaker 4 (01:37:37):
So but the thing about a crack is that Double
A had their opportunity to regulate and lost, Like.
Speaker 5 (01:37:44):
This is actually nothing to do with that Double A,
and they got sued and this is a settlement.
Speaker 4 (01:37:49):
Because of that, Like they've lost all the power in
this situation because they didn't have the foresight to see
this coming.
Speaker 5 (01:37:56):
Everyone else saw it coming.
Speaker 4 (01:37:57):
Everyone else saw the lawsuits and saw that eventually they
were gonna lose. And the players don't have to be
get paid. And I just opened the door to a
lot of a lot of issue. Even the judge in
her ruling said, like, there's a lot of questions you
guys have. I don't have answers for it right now.
I don't know what to tell you if this breaks
antitrust laws. I don't know if this limits the the
(01:38:17):
you know, the the earning power. I don't have answers
for you right now. We're starting with the settlement and
moving it along. And you know, if I was a school,
it's interesting how you allocate the money, right because, like,
let's say Organ, I'm an organ Obviously, I'm an organ
hat right here, I walk to the airport with my
duck hat. You know, if if you have Organ is
(01:38:40):
one of the schools that actually makes money right their
athletic department. It's very high functioning. The NIL mostly covers
football players, right, we know that. So do you take
the twenty million and then disperse it around the rest
of the athletes? A lot of schools gonna and then
you're to run to Title nine issues. It's just and
(01:39:01):
and also too like states have their own laws when
it comes to n I L. And this is not
a federal law. It's just a lawsuit settlement. So do
you comply with your state law. Do you comply with
the settlement? Do you opt out of the settlement? And
then you're basically not ensible anymore. We've had schools that
(01:39:22):
have declassified from Division one down to D three over this.
Already one of the schools that made the NIT Tournament
this year, I think just went down to D three
in the future.
Speaker 5 (01:39:32):
It's just it's really messy. And you know, I I don't.
I don't like where this is headed, honestly, but we'll see.
Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
I mean, we'll have a couple of years of enforcement
of this and again the last pushback I'll say here
and you know, Crack you mentioned this, and you know
I I think we look at the athletes getting paid
and we think that certain schools are only doing the payments,
and it's actually not true. Like the number one basketball
(01:40:04):
recruit went to BYU, I believe, right, Brian, I think
number one basketball co coach you went to BYU, number
one transfer quarterback in the country went to Duke your
Texas Tech made their first softball appearance.
Speaker 5 (01:40:15):
Yes, in the end, maybe the SEC.
Speaker 4 (01:40:17):
Schools are winning a lot of these championships, who knows,
but not it didn't happen in football and the SEC
is trying to burn down the playoff format because they
lost two years in a row in the postseason.
Speaker 5 (01:40:27):
It's helping other schools.
Speaker 4 (01:40:29):
I have a friendline who coaches at a at a
group of five school and it's helping him keep players
that they finally put together in an l package.
Speaker 5 (01:40:38):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:40:38):
It's it's it's giving more opportunity for players to earn
some money and go to different places. And the evidence
is there for that. And I don't know why we
pretend it's only helping Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State way.
Speaker 3 (01:40:53):
Right, It's not. Well, that's the thing, man, It's it's
not as straightforward as are you in fa of athletes
getting paid. This is the opposite of that. This is
not only that they're getting paid, it's how they're getting paid.
And Jeff, to your point, this settlement could be at
times limiting the player's earning potential. And then there's the
(01:41:14):
ripple effect where it's, well, we got to get rid
of the swim team and the bowling team. Sorry, they
just got to hit the road. We gotta find money
to pay these other athletes. That sucks. So you could
be in favor of athletes getting paid fundamentally, but how
they're getting paid you might oppose, and the ripple effect
you might really oppose. I just think universities should be
(01:41:36):
able to offer these sports where you have athletes that
are competing and experiencing things that it could be some
of your fondest memories in life and learning lessons that
you can apply to your life. And now you just
don't offer it because of the ripple effect of the settlement.
That sucks. I hate that idea. Walk ons are an
(01:41:56):
endangered species. Now think of some of these walk on
stories with Baker Mayfield JJ Watt is what a three
time Defensive Player of the Year in the NFL. Imagine
if he can't walk on, you know what I mean? Like,
who's the next guy that can't walk on? Like those
type of stories I hate so well, you can oppose.
Speaker 4 (01:42:17):
Them quickly, bro Explain the walk on thing, because this
is important. I did not mention this, and I don't
know what I actually don't know what it ended up
being in this settlement. Explain the walk because for those
who don't know, you know, they're like they're eighty five
scholarship players. Now scholarship limits I think are changing as well.
In this settlement, and football eighty five scholarship players, and
then you have a certain number of players twenty twenty
(01:42:39):
five thirty that just walk on. They pay their own
way to school. They're on the team, though, and there's
no stories we see every year of them earning scholarships,
which can happen. So every sport has walk on. Every sport,
by the way, does not also have full scholarships. So
explain So, so what's the settlement doing for the walk ons?
Speaker 3 (01:42:57):
So it's not quite clear there's going to be some
sort of roster cap, like is it going to be
one fifteen, is it going to be one oh five,
what's it going to be exactly? We don't know that.
So it's like almost everybody on the roster is going
to be under some sort of scholarship, maybe a partial scholarship,
but you're not going to have, as I understand it,
(01:43:19):
the old school, I'm just walking on. If I earn
a ride, great, If not, I'm still here. I want
to be Rudy, you know, I want to be the
next Rudy two point zero. It doesn't seem like that's
going to be the way it evolves. And so if
you have rosters that are capped, like Ryan Day could
be like, hey man, we'd love to have you walk
(01:43:40):
on and be an outside linebacker. We just don't have
a roster spot for you to do that. That's where
it seems to be headed, and that sucks like that.
I don't know why it would be, you know, capped
like that. And again you're talking about experiences and what
a university should be. Therefore, you're supposed to like give
(01:44:03):
opportunities or have opportunities available instead of limiting those opportunities.
And that's where it's headed.
Speaker 2 (01:44:09):
Hey, Brian, I never met Jeff's wife, but I want
to meet her. She's so cool. You don't and get
I pick up little things right, electric Daisy Carnival comes
out here, party and order French. I would love to
go to Saratoga and be with the nice hats and
the fancy and now for the ultimate. Oh honey, can
(01:44:30):
you see if you're entitled to any back pay? I
love this girl. I don't know, yeah, I love that
she's a best.
Speaker 4 (01:44:41):
She's like, she's asked me about the back pay. I
was like, I'm graduating seven. I think I think twenty
sixteen is the back pay for this settle. So yes,
she did ask what she did ask about that, Yeah,
probably should just want to go spend the money today
on something. So she wanted to know she had she
had a purchased good day. I can't even tell you
guys on air that was so it was so egregious.
(01:45:04):
I was like, you gotta, you gotta, we gotta, we
gotta stop for a few but she worked. Yeah, yeah,
she makes it figure she's she can spend her own
money how she wants. Yeah, she's executive at the hospital,
so she surely can can spend them. But like sometimes
I'm like, babe, like that's why you're asking for the
extra money from the settlement. We got to pay for
this purchase you made.
Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
So it was it was that the bet that Christian
Sippolini was talking about, like she back in the thunder,
is that what it was.
Speaker 4 (01:45:32):
So what I was with a buddy mine yesterday doing
the bell mine. His wife was there as well, and
we were talking. I was talking to her. I was like,
do you like know your husband gambles And she's like, yeah,
I sort of know, I don't know how much. And
it's like my wife is still just no idea, just no,
just just no.
Speaker 3 (01:45:47):
Clue might be better. That way might be better.
Speaker 4 (01:45:50):
I've been doing the show with you guys for just
the This would be the fourth season now coming up
the third season four, Yeah, I think it'll be the
fourth and the same time every weekend. Last Sunday, she
asked me, Look, what are you doing today again? I'm like,
I have worked from nine to twelve the same time
every Sunday for so many years now and still just
(01:46:13):
not even just not even the care in the world.
Speaker 2 (01:46:16):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:46:17):
Hey, so we've got the buffet to do right around
the corner. Many different sports, many different headlines will go
rapid fire. First though, We've got is Low Isaac Lohenkron
with the latest year, including a second set showdown. Love
this what's going on?
Speaker 2 (01:46:34):
I Low?
Speaker 6 (01:46:36):
Yeah, that's the piece they resistance to the buffet right now.
Because of the men's final the French Open between one
seed Eonix Center and two seed Carlos al Karaz Center
took the first set six to four after an hour
and two minutes. Cinner went up five to two in
the second set, but all Karaz then dramatically won four
of the next five games to force a second set
(01:46:59):
tie break.
Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
They are in that tie break right now.
Speaker 6 (01:47:02):
Sinner leads al Karaz in the second set tie break
four points to two, so he's three points away from
taking a two sets to none lead. In the men's
singles final at Wimbledon Baseball Saturday night, Joe Adell hit
two home runs in the Angels eight six win over Seattle,
but the Mariners Cal Raleigh hit two home runs as well.
Raleigh now with twenty six home runs to lead the Majors,
(01:47:25):
three ahead of Shoheo. Tanio has twenty three Mets one
in Colorado eight to one. The Mets with the best
record in the National League at forty one and twenty
four Well tonight at eight pm Eastern, Game two of
the NBA Finals from Oklahoma City, with the Indiana Pacers
leading the Thunder one game Tonine, guys, back to you.
Speaker 3 (01:47:43):
Thank you Ilo. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented
by Bett MGM. Okay, So the buffet, we're moving fast.
It's guy like the Pacers on offense. We're moving the ball.
We're looking for a shot. We don't have time to
dilly dally over here. It's like the Phoenix Suns seven
seconds or less. ERA with Steve Nash. You know so
numerous topics. Let me start this off. Props to al Karize.
(01:48:04):
I don't know he's gonna the second set. This is
what I love about high level sports where just nothing
is given. He was down for love in the second
set and rallied to force a tiebreaker. Like there are
some even though it's a championship match that will be
like it's not in the cards. Second set. Center hasn't
dropped a set yet at the French Open. I'm down
(01:48:26):
for love. Let me just punt this set and try
to get him in the third, and all of a
sudden we're in a tiebreaker. That's what I love like
playoff football. It could be second and one and you're thinking,
all right, they're gonna move the chains, and there are
defenses that are like, no, you get nothing on second down,
you get nothing on third down. You got a pun
on fourth and one. Have fun with that. I love that.
It's beautiful right there. Okay, as far as college baseball goes,
(01:48:50):
what are your thoughts are you've been watching the tournament,
anything that you've been betting on? Any angles you like?
Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
Yeah, I will if it ever gets posted somewhere, I'll
take North Carolina's team total over I think for today yeah,
and then I think I think Oregon State wins tonight
in the late game against Florida State. Those have been
low scoring games. The under hit in the first game
that are hitting the second game fairly easily. I do
think the overall FEMA today will be overs. It's day three.
(01:49:17):
If you're in day three, some are in day two,
but day three, man, the arms are not there. If
you're looking for how to play some of these game
threes today overs baby overs, I think Carolina still looks
like the best team in the country you go, even
with the loss yesterday. So I've been playing those those
(01:49:39):
overs and again Carolina.
Speaker 5 (01:49:42):
Team total over.
Speaker 4 (01:49:43):
I don't know if I can even find some some
they don't offer team totals very often. It's hard to
find them. I don't see anything up yet for a
team total. You can take it live sometimes, so maybe
that's the way to play it. I'm also in New York.
Speaker 5 (01:49:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:49:54):
Maybe New York doesn't offer college team totals either. Sometimes
I don't think you do, so maybe a different sports
book you can find a different location.
Speaker 5 (01:50:05):
I'm curious what it's at.
Speaker 2 (01:50:07):
New York's really tough on their rules. I tell you
they are really tough on there. When they wrote the
rules there, you understand, New York's getting more tax money
gambling tax money than anywhere else. As a matter of fact,
the sportsbooks originally said, oh, we're just gonna we'll have
a presence in New York. We're giving them fifty percent
compared to other states like Nevada they give like ten
(01:50:29):
less even. And people just said, oh, well, you know,
the sportsbook said, oh, we'll have branding there, We'll just
we'll just just have a presence. Little did they know
New Yorkers are the biggest gamblers there are. New York
is the sports betting capital of the United States. So
there's so much value that even with the even with
(01:50:49):
that tax, sportsbooks are making money in New York. That's
how much volume is in New York.
Speaker 4 (01:50:55):
The total just went to fourteen in Arizona, North Carolina.
So people looking at the same way I am here
with with Carolina and Arizona just scoring a lot of runs.
Speaker 3 (01:51:07):
Yeah, it's gonna be another shootout. How about MLB crack,
You've got your eye on the Dodgers here they lead
their division, but fourteen pitchers on the ir which is
wild right there. You think they can repeat with the
makeshift staff right here what they did last year. Or
you know what's crazy to me is if you look
(01:51:28):
at the standings, so they're playing my Cardinals here. Sure,
the Cardinals and the Dodgers have very similar records. Now
think about this. Dodgers thirty eight and twenty seven, Cardinals
thirty six and twenty eight, so very similar. The Dodgers
lead their division by a game over the Padres and
the Giants. The Cardinals trail their division by four games.
(01:51:50):
That's how good the Cubs offense has been so far
this season. But very similar records between the Cards and Dodgers.
That's pretty telling, right crack.
Speaker 2 (01:51:58):
If you took a bet right now, I'm sorry, beginning
of the season, how many teams at this point of
the season would uh, you know, if you go ahead,
if you had to use a spread, you would say, oh,
Dodgers are gonna have the best record in baseball. Well,
not true at all. As a matter of fact, one, two, three, four,
there's four teams that have better records in baseball than
(01:52:20):
the Dodgers. And I'm not saying that Dodgers still lead
I think over San Diego by one.
Speaker 5 (01:52:24):
I'll always one Giants and ones.
Speaker 4 (01:52:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:52:30):
But but however, you know, I'm anti anything public. So
even though they are leading and they've lost four of
their last so they lost six of their last ten,
I can't I can't. Yeah, I can't mess with the
with the Dodgers and any kind of futures or anything. Though.
But at the end of the show, here, I have
(01:52:51):
a game that starts at twelve. I'm sorry, you get
twelve noon Eastern time, and I'm gonna have that in
my first round of picks here.
Speaker 5 (01:53:01):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (01:53:01):
Yeah, it's going to be a college a college baseball total,
and so that that's I heard you guys talking about
college baseball totals. So we'll have one of them. And
then I'm going to have a pretty strong first five.
So there we go, looking forward to that.
Speaker 5 (01:53:16):
I think I could guess your first five.
Speaker 2 (01:53:18):
This is the you know, Jeff, you're right, because we've
been doing so well, Jeff and I on the same team.
I may surprise you though. Actually I did take.
Speaker 4 (01:53:29):
I did take, by the way, I bet MGM under
one and a half runs for the first three innings
between the Pirates and Phillies today plus one hundred, no plus.
Speaker 5 (01:53:40):
I think it's plus plus one fifty.
Speaker 4 (01:53:41):
Maybe I don't because Skeens is kitchen and they and
they just don't I looked for this wager. I don't
think it's offered on bet MGM. But you can bet
a pitcher to win or lose a game. The Pirates
never win the game Skan's pitches. So if you can
find like a no on that one, that's definitely worth
an option today with with Skins on the Mount, I mean,
(01:54:03):
he's been incredible. Uh, they just don't win the games
he pitches. You know, that's unfortunate, gotcha.
Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
Yeah, And it's a beautiful thing. They they might end
up winning the game, but he doesn't get to win.
And you could win your bet that way too. That's
a beautiful thing right where you know he's he's in
line for the win with a two to one lead,
and the Phillies tie it up and it's like, well
he can no longer win the game, and you're like, whoa,
we cash. You know, it's a beautiful way to win.
(01:54:32):
By the way, super fast TIBs fired. What do you
think Tom Thibodeau gets the acts you in favor of
that or crazy?
Speaker 4 (01:54:41):
I just don't know what who you're hiring, who's better?
That's always my thing. Someone I don't think better than TIBs.
Speaker 5 (01:54:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:54:49):
Yeah, I picture TIBs watching Game one of the Finals,
right after the Knicks lost to the Pacers, and it's like, oh,
what do you know? They came back and beat the
thunder too. Crazy how that worked out? Yeah, I just
don't agree with that, but a good point, Jeff, how
are you upgrading? Are you upgrading with Jason Kidd? That's
an honest question. I don't know that you are. We've
(01:55:11):
got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year
NFL veteran. I'm Brian. No score bigger at bet MGM

of the day. We'll see if one trend continues. It
is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by bet MGM. It
is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by Bett MGM. Props
to the crew, our trusted producer Bo Benson. Check him
(01:55:56):
out the uh I've got prided to t that's right
pod for Chris Purfet, Dodger Zone pod for bow check
it out breaking down the Cardinals smacking around those Dodgers,
Just kidding. Technical producer extraordinary Chris Prefet, Pride of Detroit
pod crushing the updates, crushing life. That would be Isaac Lohenkron.
(01:56:18):
Shout out to our guy Sager on digital posting our
clips on social media, does an awesome job. Top of
the Hour, Mike Harmon, Dan Bayer, that's less than nine
minutes away. Keep it locked right here on Fox Sports Radio.
They have got you covered.
Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:56:32):
We got a boatload of picks to make. Let's do
it rapid fire, all right, crack, we start with you.
What's something you like.
Speaker 2 (01:56:43):
Let's make sure that bet MGM still has the same
wine that I looked at it a minute ago. So
we're gonna go with college baseball and a college baseball
total one of those overs, like Jeff was talking about
Miami Louisville over fourteen and a half minus order at
bet MGM Miami Louisville over fourteen and a half. Hopefully
(01:57:05):
those Sunday overs keep going right, all right?
Speaker 4 (01:57:11):
Come on, check Holdgren, let's do it today over eight
and a half rebounds And when I say double double
plus one eighty.
Speaker 3 (01:57:19):
Five, there you go. I like that bet. I've made
that bet during the show, Jeff, I like that one.
Speaker 2 (01:57:26):
Yeah, I like it too.
Speaker 3 (01:57:27):
I'm gonna go with Bob. Give me Bob tomorrow night.
Bbrovski over twenty five and a half saves Edmonton gets
a ton of shots on goal. I just don't see
how that's changing in these games, that's right, Butbrovsky has
been a beast and he's gonna have to stop a
bunch of the pucks from going into the net because
(01:57:49):
Edmondson there was just relentless. So I'll take Bob over.
All right, we've got cracks play the day. Let's dive
into this.
Speaker 1 (01:57:58):
God, this is the lay of the deck the man.
Speaker 3 (01:58:03):
All right, crack, what is it?
Speaker 2 (01:58:04):
Well? You know I've had a lot of success on
Pittsburgh sides and totals first five. So we're gonna go
back to the Well there Jeff doing what I was
doing already. But however, I'm gonna pick the side. Let's
go with Pittsburgh and skiings first five. It's minus a
dollar forty. I hate laying that much juice. Bet MGM
(01:58:26):
had a great line this morning and they moved it
up a little bit more. But Pittsburgh Pirates first five.
Let's keep on going to you know who's been giving
you the money. You know that there's an old saying
there go to the or leave the problem with the
girl you came with. So there we go, Pittsburgh Pirates,
free go. Yeah, there we go like it.
Speaker 3 (01:58:47):
Yeah, And Phillies have really been struggling lately.
Speaker 2 (01:58:51):
I mean, I know they're one of the best things,
and they're a great team. We know the Phillies are
a great team. But this is very situational. Like you
guys said, Jeff was talking about places that actually have
you can bet the pitcher to win. That's kind of interesting,
but uh, you know that you can to win the
game to get the decision or not the starting pitcher.
But we're just gonna go with the first five here
(01:59:11):
Pittsburgh and hopefully keep on keep this money train rolling.
Speaker 3 (01:59:17):
Keep it trucking. Okay, nice, What do you think, fellows
on the way out? Halliburton under twenty five and a
half points and assists.
Speaker 2 (01:59:24):
You with that. I'm under that.
Speaker 4 (01:59:27):
I think Harley burn gets a bunch of assistant rebounds.
I don't know about the points.
Speaker 3 (01:59:32):
All right, let's see Enjoy Game two and your weekend festivities.
