Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ron.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
This is Fox Sports Countdown Countdown.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Yeah, yeah, we're breaking down the sports weekend here and
looking ahead.

Speaker 4 (00:10):
At your sports week.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
You're listening to Fox Sports Countdown, brought to you by
BEG the Sports Look Born in Vegas. The Countdown starts now.
No Live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Here's Brian No,
Jeff Schwartz and Bill crack Krackenberger.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Oh what's going on? Happy Sunday to you?

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Back at you a can Your day is off to
a fantastic start.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
I considered something about Jeff Schwartz's wife here.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Good morning to you Jeff, and good morning to you Cracking.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
Jeff just sent the group the text, the group text
message that we have here, a tweet that he put
out that his wife asked him like ten minutes before
this show. For who knows how many Sundays in a row.
This has happened where he's been on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Hey, honey, can you run to home depot real fast?

Speaker 5 (01:09):
And you know blank'stare from the Schwart syndicate like, no,
I've got stuff to do.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
You should know this.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Is it possible that she is just like movie actress,
like trolling you no, No, there's an honest question.

Speaker 6 (01:24):
She has no idea about my work schedule. Every Sunday
I've done.

Speaker 7 (01:30):
Is.

Speaker 6 (01:30):
We're going on our fourth season of doing this show,
I believe starting September. Right, it used to be just
like football season, but I still worked on Sundays when
it was the off season essentially, right, I do this
show every Sunday except like two a year. I mean
there's like two of them. I'm out of town or something, right,
and like Cracks here every Sunday. Jeez, he never misses one.

(01:52):
He takes his commerce with him everywhere. Yeah, she has
no idea Like well, during the even during like when
we go back to ten to one Eastern, it's like,
I think he's a Hebrew School who's been kids are
from Hebrew School. You are you every Sunday at noon,
you are picking them up. It doesn't change until we
get to the off season. Just no concept of of

(02:12):
what we do. She just knows the checks come in
and she likes spend the money though Crack right, So
she likes to spend the money of the work that
I do, but doesn't understand she you know, if she
doesn't care, I don't know what the right word, the
right way to explain it broad because I think she
I think she sort of cares sometimes, but.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
I don't know, hasn't made the connection yet.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
Has not made the connection.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
I get this thought. You got someone that actually gets
this I'm doing since nineteen ninety three, I'm betting sports professionally.
And yet you know, even back when I was back East,
that means that. That means literally every night at seven pm,
when my wife was coming home from work, back when
she worked, that when she's coming home and saying how
was your day? Is an I am in the middle

(02:59):
of betting stuff seven pm when things go off. But
I tried, the trainer, tried and tried and tried. Here
we are twenty twenty five. There will still be times
she'll just walk in the room when I'm on air,
when I'm doing things like she knows the same thing Sundays,
I go on air Sunday morning. But she also knows
my others to schedule two of shows. But like I say,

(03:22):
even though I'm in the back of the house, it
doesn't matter. This is my office. This is like you
coming into someone's office space at an office building and
coming in and when they're in the middle of stuff,
like I have to tell her there has to be
some kind of a code. The code is you text
me first. You can't get pass a certain way in
the hallway. You can't. You have to warn me every

(03:42):
single time. And yet it's amazing. And God bless my
mom when she passed away, But God bless her too,
all the years trying to trying to school her on things,
and I would say, Mom, it's seven o'clock, and she
just didn't realize it, you know, And trust me, I
wish I had that time again with her. But yeah,
just they just they are who they are. They're wonderful people.

(04:06):
They just don't realize that we're at work, and then
we work very odd hours. Six am. I'm sid six
am here in Vegas. Yeah, six to nine am on
a Sunday when everyone else is off.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
You know what's funny, though, Crack is I feel like
what you're talking about with advanced notice can work in
the sports world as well, because every now and then
opinions are so bad where I feel like I needed.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Some advance notice, you know.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
Where It's like, I know that it's not realistic to
ask for a text message from Carolyn Peck or others
who are saying these ridiculous things about Caitlin Clark. But
I needed some advance notice, like, hey, I'm gonna throw
something out at you. You might think it's ridiculous at first,
but give it a chance, or this is just gonna

(04:53):
be wild and obnoxious, but you know what, this is
how I feel right now, just some advanced notice because
what we have gotten now, well after the Indiana fever,
they won three straight games without Caitlin Clark, right, and
so this really dumb opinion started to gain some traction
that hey, the fever are actually more dangerous without Caitlin Clark.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
This is actually a taste of it.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
This is on Sports Center where Carolyn Peck, former National
Championship winning head coach.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
She won a title at Purdue when she was in.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
The college ranks, right, former coach coached in the WNBA.
This isn't Johnny blowfan that hates Caitlyn is saying outlanders things.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
This is a.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
Former professional who knows what she's talking about. Supposed to
give us some insight, and this is what we got
from Carolyn Peck recently about Caitlyn Clark.

Speaker 8 (05:41):
Look, I think that Indiana is even more dangerous when
Caitlyn Clark doesn't play because she's.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
A ball dominant guard.

Speaker 8 (05:49):
The ball's in her hands a lot, so you know
what you need to try to take away. But when
you look at Indiana, now they've got so many weapons.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Okay, so that's the take, right, They're just more dangerous.
So it was funny last night.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Is they lost to a five and thirteen La Sparks Squad.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
And this to me is just ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
I needed some advance notice, you know, like crack, you
need advants notice if someone's walking into your office space.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
I needed an advance notice to.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
This because it's the ultimate prisoner of the moment. Take
the Fever win three games in a row, and whoa,
they're more dangerous? Are you telling me you think over
the next three years, like a legitimate sample size, do
you think that the Fever are more dangerous without Caitlin
Clark over the long haul? Of course they aren't. This

(06:44):
is ridiculous and a lot. She wasn't the only one.
I'm not just calling out Carolyn Peck. There are many
others that are like, hey, Fever are better. They won
the Commissioner's Cup without Caitlin Clark. They're four and five
without Caitlin Clark like, what are we talking about here?

Speaker 6 (07:01):
Good morning? I guess now that we By the way, crack,
my daughter is a serial just walk in my room
while working and does not care at all. I get.
I get that feeling. My wife, this list doesn't come
bother me. She's just like, you know, my wife, daughter
just walks in and asks me a question. I'm like,
what do you want me do?

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Honey?

Speaker 6 (07:14):
She's asked me about about Kaylen Clark. I'll talk to
her all day about that. You know, Brian, we I
mean you become like Fever fans because we like watching
Kaylen Clark. I watch almost every one of their games.
I watched the game last night as well. Obviously gambling
plays a role, and I think in some of that
as well. By the way I bet that I crack.
I cannot give you the numbers us. I guess I
could go look back and do individual games. But the

(07:37):
opposing big, big woman like center forward against the Fever
goes over their point total like seventy percent of games.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
It is remark.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
I've been betting all season long. Last night, Hamby went over,
Wilson went over the game before the Feast of Collier
did not go over because the Links said, the worst
shooting night in the entire season. So that's the thing, right,
you have to look at the games. Okay, the Fever
beat the Lynx in the Commissioner's Cup. The Links had
their worst offensive game of the season, their number one

(08:06):
in the in the W in offensive rating and defensive rating.
Worst game of the season. They came back, by the
way they won two in a row and looked good
the Links. Secondly, they beat the Aces, who are who
kind of looked at Samboblay this year. I feel like
they missed Kelsey Plumb Moore and they're letting on that
they missed that, that sort of attitude in mindset because
I'll tell you what, she's not gonna have plays poorly.

(08:27):
I think as the team playing against the Fever since
moving to Las Vegas, that was the worst offensive game
that franchise has had. Okay, so these back to back
games where I'm not sure the Fever defense did anything special.
The defense is not great. The other teams just didn't
play well. Then last night we saw again like the
Sparks played like I like they have at times this season.

(08:50):
The fever, wilted down the stretch. We saw many times
this season that they've done. And the last true thy
possessions are y Uni Kaitlyn Clark. They had no they
had nothing. The last play of the game, there were
twenty two seconds theft I think on the clock, they're
down two, a horrific possession. Brian that they had no
one to go to. They had no one to go to.
They went to Boston, which is fine. I think she

(09:11):
missed a shot. You got an offensive rebound, give it
back to Boston, I believe, And then she missed like
an eighteen footer was even close. Like Boston's been playing great,
So it is Mitchell, but to act like Clark. The
turnovers are a problem, I get it, but half of
them are just teammates not catching the ball, which is
another story. But she's averaging eighteen six and nine. It's

(09:34):
not like she's averaging.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Four to two and three.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
She's averaging eighteen six and nine and quote unquote not
playing well. And it was really the last three games
where she was one for twenty three from three. So
the idea that we have to make these overarching statements
about I think the WNA people like they cover the
sport are in like, you know, they're in the infancy

(09:59):
stage of all this because the attention to the league
is so new now where you know, if an NFL
analyst said, you know, last year when the Packers won
two games without Jordan Love, no one got on TV
and was like, Jordan Love, they're better without him, willing,

(10:20):
I mean there are people are McDonald. I washed it
in college. I covered Arizona during that the championship run
that they made. She was great and she's playing well now,
but it's like her fourth team, Brian. It's a reason
why she's bouncing around. She people argue that she is
the answer to unlocking Indiana's offense. She doesn't even start.
So a backup point guard who's playing, and I think

(10:41):
she's playing well in her role she's in is somehow
better for the offense than the woman who's every nine
assists the game. So the w n B, a analyst
is like, they're so far like they're just kind of
the whole ecosystem is is sort of behind where the
rest of sports is because everything's I knew they got
to have a take all the time. The attentions just

(11:04):
is so is so much. And I look, whether we
anyone wants to admit it or not. I mean, for
some reason, I I I people have said the reasons
I don't I don't know if I bly them, but
they have not abrased Kaylan Clark like other leagues haven't
braked their superstars. And I just don't get it, Brian,

(11:25):
because Clark has done nothing to dissuade anyone from not
liking her. But there are people that just will not
accept what she has brought to this league. And man,
say she has to be cobbled, or that you have
to go out of your way to praise her, or
what she's playing poor, like she has it to say
she's not playing poorly, can admit when things are going bad.
But for some reason, people that cover the sport are

(11:47):
so hesitant to just give Kaylyn Clark her flowers and say, hey, man,
she's a good ballplayer. And oh they like the private planes,
they like everything else.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Yeah, and you know, guys, going back to this original
thing here with with with that playing without Caitlyn Clark.
We've heard this plenty of times. When a star goes
down and the team wins some games. Steph Curry missed
four games and the Warriors went four and oh, so
that means they're better without them, I mean.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
But no one would say that he covers the lead
crack Kaitlyn Clark.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Caitlyn Clark one of the best players, of course that
that we've ever seen in the NBA, and obviously her
team is better with her on the court. So sometimes
teams get a little energy boost when a star is
out without when with an injury, but that doesn't last,
you know, usually it doesn't last long and it kind
of reverts back to the mean after a while or too. So.

(12:43):
But uh, yeah, good good points that we all had
here on the subject.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Yeah, it's uh, it's one of these deals where I
would point to the other Indiana team. You can play
the same game with Haliburton, the Indiana Pacers, Right, he's
a ball dominant guard. Do you think the Pacers are
more dominant? They're gonna be more dangerous this season without them?
Of course not, They're gonna miss them. And the thing
with Caitlin, I'm glad that you brought that up, Jeff.

(13:08):
Her cold shooting streak where she's one for twenty three
or whatever it was from three.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Listen, unless you think she just.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
Forgot how to play basketball, and she can't shoot anymore.
She's clearly playing hurt, Like there's a reason why she's
finally like, all right, you know, I got to set
out these games. The organization figured it out where it's like,
instead of trotting her out there where she's this lesser,
hurt version of herself, let's take some time, let her
heel up, and then we'll get the healthy version of her.

(13:37):
So this idea that this is just who she is
as a player now is ridiculous as well.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
The whole thing is ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
But you know, there are legitimate things to point out,
Like she's got to cut down on the turnovers.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
That's legitimate.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
You don't have to take it to the end degree
and be like and just lose your point when you
take it too far, you know, and say, oh, they're
more dangerous without her.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
No they're not. That's just a terrible take. It's just bad.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
But that's where we are in this grand scheme of things. Man,
that's the way it goes.

Speaker 6 (14:05):
Gain she plays an All Star game, do think she
comes back for that? I'm kind of curious because they
will need her to play that game. But I can't
imagine she doesn't playing the regular she would. I mean,
maybe she just shows up and waves the crowd because
it's in Indiana. But if she's not playing before the
All Star break, how do you justify playing at all
in an All Star game?

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Right?

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Yeah, if she gets out on the court with the fever,
then there's a good chance she'd be out there in
the game. But if she's not there the fever, it'd
be ridiculous to I'd say your first game back is
the All Star Game.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
I don't think that would happen. That just be a
bad look.

Speaker 9 (14:35):
Hey, we're often running.

ball is always on the brain, you know, football always
on the brain. And we had a big trade recently
where the Dolphins and the Steelers they came to an
agreement and the Steelers they get a couple of players.

(16:37):
They get Jalen Ramsey, who's still a really good corner.
They get John hu Smith at tight end, who was
the Dolphins' only Pro bowler last season.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
They get both of those players.

Speaker 5 (16:48):
The Dolphins get Minka Fitzpatrick, who was originally a Dolphins
draft pick, who's a very good player. Is his you know,
impact plays have worn down over the last couple of years,
only one interception over the last couple of seasons, but
still a very good player. So the question is, and
I was surprised that I did a fill in show

(17:10):
for Fox this week and most of the people were
on board. They thought the Dolphins got the better end
of the deal, and full disclosure, I'm a diehard Dolphins fan.
I do not think the Dolphins got the better end
of this trade because you get two players that are
going to be starters, that are going to make impact
for the Steelers, the Dolphins get one, Like two is.

Speaker 9 (17:31):
Better than one?

Speaker 5 (17:32):
What do I don't understand why they're saying the Dolphins
are getting the better end of this trade?

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Am I crazy?

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Here?

Speaker 2 (17:36):
You guys see it the same way.

Speaker 6 (17:38):
Wow, I haven't heard that take Dolphins the better end
of the deal. You're right, because it's not like they
got a first round pick or second round pick. That's
a conditional seventh round picks that were traded back and fourth.
I think the idea is maybe you got rid of
Ramsey's contract and therefore you fig yourself up to space.
But what are you using that space for?

Speaker 4 (17:57):
Right?

Speaker 6 (17:57):
The Dolphins are in a weird spot, and Brian not
saying you don't know, I don't know what they are
this year. They're like, you know, weird, Like Mike Daniel
can be fired. But what if Tua stays healthy and
we make some adjustments and and and we end up
with more wins that we think it's a it's a
I would lean toward the former, by the way, unfortunately, Brian,

(18:18):
but I don't think. I don't think they got the
better of the deal. Look, you're right, they traded two,
but he's got one back. They're traded older player and
John new Smith, by the way, had a great end
of the season. He was their number one off option
a lot of times on offense, was dicing up teams.
You know, a quarterback like Tua, I think needs a
tight end like that right where easy completions over the

(18:39):
middle of field. He doesn't throw the ball well over
the middle field because he's a smaller quarterback having a
big tight end like that. And also jonhu Smith by
the way, man covered the screens for him. They used
a bunch like, they did a lot of fun stuff
with him. They currently replaced him with Darren Waller, which
I I, okay, not the same guy. I think Waller
was retired, right, don't he like we're hiring or as

(19:01):
what was retired is retired not anymore. The Steelers fascinate
me this year because they it's but it's I always
want my favorite teams to try to win until they
realize they can't and then think about the future. Right,

(19:23):
you could do two things at once if you're a franchise, right,
if you think about the near term and the long term.
And the Steelers this year just went all in on
the near term short term, I should say short term.
And when you go all in on the short term,
you want a championship, right, Like, that's the point of it.
But not winning a championship. So I don't know what
they went old veteran in all the positions. I know

(19:46):
at the point of it, I think the next year,
we rep in the same spot, Pittsburgh nine and eight,
ten and seven, and you're looking at them like, well,
they're back on the same spot, don't have a quarterback,
super old everywhere crack. So I get the trade for
the they got two players, and supposedly Fitzpatrick was the
one like holding back the defense. That's what the rumors were.
I didn't play with that defense. I can't tell you

(20:07):
any more than that, But the Dolphins lost the trade, Shirley.
I just don't know if the Steelers really got much better.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Okay, I kind of was thinking this one is kind
of pretty even here. It helps both teams Ramsey seemed
to lose the motivation of Miami, but I still think
he has a couple of good years left on the table.
The Steelers also get a great receiving tight end, john
Neus Smith, and this is a good target edition for
Aaron Rodgers this season, who really likes to utilize his

(20:36):
tight ends in the red zone. Smith is coming off
his best best season where he broke franchise tight end
records with eighty eight catches and I think I read
it earlier eight hundred and eighty eighty yards. I mean, meanwhile,
the Dolphins get Fitzpatrick, who did have a down year,
but is you know, it's only twenty eight, in the

(20:56):
prime of his career. A location change should probably reratalize
someone like him. And the Dolphins have totally redone their secondary,
which has been pretty bad the last couple of seasons.
So we'll see what happens here. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (21:12):
Kind of interesting stats with the Steelers as well, because
they do have mouth right, they still have Pat Fryermuth
and so some people are like, they already have a
tight end, what are they doing here exactly. Pittsburgh actually
ran the most plays out of thirteen personnel, which is
just one running back and three tight ends. They ran

(21:32):
one hundred and sixty three plays with three tight ends
on the field, and they ran more than forty five
percent of their offensive plays last season with two or
more tight ends on the field at the same time.
So the Steelers dealt George Pickens, their wide receiver to
the Cowboys, and they pick up a playmaker in John
new Smith who will make an impact. And it's not

(21:54):
as if they just have mooth on the field at
tight end and John new Smith is going to be
like sipping Gator Raider. They're both gonna be on the
field half the time. So that's a nice pickup for
the Steelers. And you get a corner, you get a
tight end that's gonna make an impact. And meanwhile the
Dolphins they get a safety that makes an impact and
they have to have a tight end come out of retirement.

(22:15):
Like that's advantage Steelers all day. I'm just surprised that
there are fans, there were talking heads that were saying
the Dolphins got the better end of the deal because
they have the best player of the whole transaction. I
don't see it that way. Two for one is better
for the team with the two than the team with
the one.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
It's just that easy.

Speaker 6 (22:36):
Looking at the Dolphins depth chart tight end.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Oh boy, yeah, by the way.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
Phil Brown let go a trade for someone.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Right, well you would think so.

Speaker 5 (22:46):
They've been on the phone, but they reportedly were interested
in Michael Mayer, the Raiders tight end. Right with Brock
Powers over there, it makes some sense. Maybe they see
some value with a former second round pick and maybe
they make a deal or find somebody else because they're
they're interested. Because yeah, I'm glad you pointed that out.
Jeff Farrell Brown. Before they got the before they got

(23:08):
Darren Waller out of retirement, Farrell Brown was the most
experienced Dolphins tight end. And his number is not bad,
right you think about this, seventy two catches for seven
hundred and fifty one yards, three touchdowns like that, that's
a pretty good season. That's Those are his numbers in
eighty seven career games. Okay, so not exactly a huge

(23:29):
threat as a receiving tight end. So they're lean, man,
My fins are gonna be rough this year. It's this
is the uh, the swan song for Mike McDaniel. I
just don't see him sticking around after this year. I
think it's gonna be a bad one. But what I
think is gonna be a good one is whenever we
hear from Isaac loewen Kron, that goes well much better

(23:51):
than the Aqua and Orange I think this season.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
I low with the latest. What's going on?

Speaker 4 (23:55):
I low?

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Well, sorry, guys, I justly made it back in time
from home Depot him a close one, and you know,
the most disappointing part of it all, at least on
my end, it doesn't open for another half an hour.
Oh maya get there? They're closed. I have to race back.

(24:18):
By the way Fox Sports Radio I've learned is apparently
in a home depot desert there isn't one for like
eight miles around here. So from local home Depot news
to local SW nineteen news. The fourth round action at
Wimbledon today, American Taylor Fritz has defeated Australian Jordan Thompson
to advance to the quarterfinals because Thompson had to retire

(24:39):
due to injury in the second set. But Fritz had
won the first set six to one and was a
had three to nothing in the second set when Thompson
had to retire. In Major League Baseball, on Saturday night
at the Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers six
to four. Josh hater is major league leading twenty fifth
saved show. Hey Otani started the game for the Dodgers
on his thirty first birthday. He struck out this side

(25:00):
in the second inning, wound up pitching two scoreless innings.
The Detroit Tigers won in Cleveland, won nothing on a
Spencer Torklsen home run. Cleveland on a nine game losing streak,
and it was the fifth time during the losing streak
that they have been shut out. The Texas Rangers won
at San Diego seven to four. Kyle Hi goat Schioka
three for three with a home run and five RBI.
The Giants Willy Adamage three hits and four RBI and

(25:22):
a seven to two win over the Athletics. The Seattle
Mariners over the Pittsburgh Pirates won nothing. Luis Castillo struck
out eight and seven scoreless innings for the win, and
the Chicago White Sox one of Colorado ten to three.
Lenine Sosa home run and four RBI.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Guys Back to.

Speaker 5 (25:38):
You, Thank You, I Lo it is Fox Sports Radio's
countdown presented by bet MGM. Be sure to check out
the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just search Fox Sports
Radio on YouTube and you'll see a whole bunch of
video highlights from our shows. Be sure to subscribe so
you always have instant access to our Fox Sports Radio
videos on YouTube. Love that name, Spencer Torkelsen. You know,

(25:59):
it just sounds like a real lever. That's a sidewinder,
you know, like sidearm weird delivery, or like a knuckle
curveball pitcher or something.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
It's a great throwback name. Spencer Torklesin. Love that I believe, no.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
Kidd and really, now that I'm pretty good at knowing
the colleges of NFL players, I got nothing for you.
I might know a random MLB player or manager for
some weird reason. I know Craig Council went to Notre Dame.
I don't know why, well from I'm from South Bend,
so that's probably why.

Speaker 11 (26:32):
He's actually went to Arizona State.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
Almost close, I knew it was a Pac twelve.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
School, Irish almost Notre Dame.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
Gay Uh oh what torklesin is Arizona State? Sun devil
forks up?

Speaker 4 (26:45):
Huh?

Speaker 5 (26:46):
Yeah there you go. Yeah you could play that game
all day. You could name stars and I'd be like,
where did uh Scoobal go?

Speaker 2 (26:56):
He pitches today? Where's schoobl from?

Speaker 6 (26:58):
But I, but I, I I have an under first
inning hits for the Indians, So assume the guarding. Sorry,
So I hope that I hope that uh we get.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Home there like I've been I've been crushing.

Speaker 6 (27:10):
I've been crushing these live close your ears, crack. I
don't think you're gonna have to hear this live inning hits.
I did it last night with Logan Web.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Like again, I know you did that, like you know
we could go or sit with low.

Speaker 6 (27:24):
Yeah, So a lot of times I do it. I
do the first inning with us with the ace, and
then I do the top of the third essentially right
or bottom through seven eight nine if they get there right,
because if you have no hits through two, you're probably
getting through seven eight nine and you get like plus
one hundred minus one o five. So I did it
with Logan Web twice last night, and I will when

(27:46):
we get to like our props and parlay appliter our stuff,
I might I might throw in if I can find
some of these numbers here, I bet MGM for like
under first three things like that, because these these starting pitchers, man,
these aces, they are good.

Speaker 11 (28:01):
Trick Scubele went, oh, sorry, go ahead, where do you go?
Seattle University? See, of course he did. Wow, but both
him and Torkelsen both born in California.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
Seattle University.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Wow, that's a random one.

Speaker 6 (28:14):
Nowadays, he would have transferred to talk an SEC school.
He's not spending four years at Seattle Universe. Three years
at Sattle University.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
Yeah, let me throw this at you, guys. I'm curious
what you think about this. So big gamble by the
Milwaukee Bucks where they agree to a buyout with Damian Lillard. Right,
Dame has the Achilles injury, so he's on the shelf
for this entire next season. So they buy out Damian Lillard.
And they did that so they could sign Miles Turner.

(28:42):
So Miles Turner comes over from the Indiana Pacers, goes
to the Bucks. So the Bucks are aggressive right here.
They're trying to keep you honest at that to Koombo.
So they buy out Dame, they sign Miles Turner. They're
trying to make it a better supporting cast. So Yanni
sticks around. Do you like this? What do you make
of these bold moves by the Bucks gambling big here?

Speaker 6 (29:03):
Yeah, So if if the goal was to make Jannis
happy and keep him in a Bucks uniform for a
couple more seasons, I think it's financially and like franchise wise, Brian,

(29:23):
it might be worth all the all they've gone through.
That's the only positive here in my opinion. If you
think that the one for one switch and then stretch,
this stretch thing they're doing with makes financial sense, it
makes you a better team. Probably.

Speaker 12 (29:39):
Not.

Speaker 6 (29:40):
The thing that I have a tough time with is
Miles Turner was so bad in the finals, And you
shouldn't judge a player based off that one experience because
it's NBA Finals, right, I mean sometimes you know, and
we've seen superstars over the years. You know, I'm a
Barry Bonds guy forever. He was bad in the postas
until he wasn't in n O two. Like that's a story.
Aaron Judge, right, was bad until he was to the
last season, and like you can break out of that.

(30:03):
But when I see a guy shoot thirteen percent on
open threes and for a whole finals, Brian, and they
get signed to a monster contract and this guy's supposed
to elevate the team above what they've been. I do
have some concerns, but again, if you're doing this to
keep Jannis happy, maybe it makes sense just to say
our superstar is gonna stay with Giannis. We always have

(30:24):
a chance to win the East this year. No, Holly Burrn,
probably Notatum, and both those teams have basically sold off
for this season. Maybe Turner can can get us over
the there's some way to talk yourself into this crack.
But I'm not betting on the Bucks this season. I
don't My money's not going there.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
Yeah, I think I think the buyout was a good
idea for the Bucks. Loward is in the tail end
of his career and coming off an Achilles injury and
never really meshed with Giannis and Milwaukee. Do I think
getting Miles Turner means Gianna stays with the Bucks. No.
I think he could stay or leave, But I don't

(31:03):
think Turner matters to him. I think Giannis would prefer
a big market city like New York or LA. But
who can actually afford him That's another question.

Speaker 11 (31:11):
Now.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
I could definitely see him on a team like the Knicks,
but we'll have to wait and see though. For that,
you know, it's a matter of really when you're going
looking at a big market team like that, I mean,
you know, how much money do they have to pay
all these different stars they have in that market? So

(31:32):
we'll see what happens.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
Yeah, I feel like I'm gonna talk out of both
sides of my mouth. But the positive side is I
feel like I'm at the poker table. You guys have
probably had this experience where you're at the poker table
and someone goes all in with a very modest hand
like ten to seven, and this is before the flop,
and you're looking at this guy and you're like, I

(31:55):
don't know it's gonna work, but that's pretty Bold's That's
that's a bold move right there. That's how I feel
with the Bucks. So halfway, I'm like, man, I appreciate
the gamble and you have nothing else.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
But I think it's dumb.

Speaker 5 (32:12):
Like that's the more critical side of me, because you
have to ask yourself to these moves put the Bucks
in a position if Yannis does stick around, are they
in a position to win a championship.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
They're not even close. So you're doing all these moves in.

Speaker 5 (32:29):
An effort to keep you honest there and then what's
gonna happen from that point on? They're not going to
do anything, So you're making you're doing all.

Speaker 6 (32:37):
This happy Yeah, get ticket sales, I mean part of business,
part of this.

Speaker 5 (32:41):
Like, but I look at I look at that part
of it where you should be going at it in
a different direction. What makes sense. You have to make
the hard decision. You have to trade.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Jannis, and you have to go young, and you have
to get actual draft picks.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
They're capped out, they have no maneuverability and they have
no draft picks because of the Drew.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Holliday move, the Damian Lillard move.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
You can buy out Dame, you still have to throw
those draft picks away in that deal. They're still due.
So I think you got to reset and move your honest.
That's the hard decision that you really have to make.
This is just a band aid, you know. That's and
they're crossing their fingers, like hopefully we get Giannis. Like
they've lost in the first round each of the last

(33:24):
three years. Even if Jannis goes back, How does that
change dramatically?

Speaker 6 (33:27):
It doesn't, It doesn't know, You're right, I mean, I'm
team make tough decisions. I think that's what I would
have done if I was Milwaukee. But I get why
they didn't obviously from a business perspective, But yes, you
should trade them and get a bunch of drop picks
and start over and just say we won our championship
with the honest thank you, like trust trust our vision,
you know, Bucks fans.

Speaker 5 (33:46):
Yeah, right, that's I mean, think about some of these
organizations that have made those tough decisions where I mean,
my mind goes straight to football, but think of these quarterbacks.
Where the Colts did it with Peyton Manning. Yeah, the
Niners did it with Jim Montana.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
There.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
I'm sure there are plenty of basketball examples that you know,
don't come to the Celtics. Good example with Paul Pierce
and Kevin Garnett. At the time that Paul Pierce was adored,
they finally won a championship and they're like, we're moving
both these guys, and they were better off for it.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
With Tatum and Brown, their vision was much better doing
it that way.

Speaker 5 (34:20):
They weren't like, no, no, no, we can't. It's our
favorite blankie. We can't part with that, right, No, you
make the tough decision and move those guys all right, agree? Yeah,
we got a Bill Krakeenberger, professional sports handicapper.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran.

Speaker 5 (34:36):
I'm Brian now coming up next the parlay platter, which
have one selection for you. We pull it together for
a greater payout and we'll try to make it two
in a row. We cashed last week, so let's keep
it going.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
All right, let's do this.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Check this out par lay ladder.

Speaker 5 (35:40):
I guess the latter whach have one selection, we pull
it together for a greater payout.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Crack.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
We start with you. What do you like?

Speaker 4 (35:48):
All right? Let's I got so many games today, amazingly
on a Sunday morning here late in the season, right
before all starbreak, you usually slow down. But let's let's
go with Philadelphia first five. I'm gonna go a minus
a half, which is really tough to do on a
baseball game, but I think the situation warrant it. Philadelphia

(36:09):
minus a half minus a dollars seventy seven, Philadelphia first five.

Speaker 6 (36:16):
All right, Well, the one out of one is not
up yet, Brian, unless you can help me find it.
I like the Aces first half over, but I can't
find it on I don't think it's up yet, so
I won't play that one. So if you if you're
listening to this and you you want an extra play,
I guess so first half I'm trying to find I

(36:38):
can't see it, right. Yeah, they will have it at
some point, but it's not up yet. I think it's
like forty three, forty four and a half Aces had
to get a historically badging performance. They play the sub today,
so I won't go there. What I will give you
is first three innings under for Pirates and Mariners. The
Pirates one six in a row with the Seattle. I

(36:59):
don't have scored a run any game so far yet,
they lost one nothing yesterday. They don't score a lot
of runs early in games to start with. It's not
what they do even during their wind streak. And then
Paulsey just throwing today. So combining those things together and
we have a parlay. I'll go under two and a
half minus two twenty here for the parlay, Brian first

(37:20):
three under two and a half between the Pirates and Mariners.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Oh right, okay, So I have a confession to make, guys.
I think you would like this confession. So there's a
neighborhood cat that comes by and visits to us all
the time, and we've nicknamed her Oreo. No idea what
the cat's name is. She's here today, right now, and
she's going berserk's on the coffee table. Wow, my screen

(37:48):
is moving back and forth. I don't know if I
can give you a here she is.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
I don't know if you like she's actually laying like.

Speaker 6 (37:55):
Really like right on.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
Yeah, I thought it even that comes to the neighbor
on the outside. No, it's the cats in the house.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Yeah, cats in the house on the coffee table.

Speaker 5 (38:05):
As I'm trying to make my selection for the parlay platter.

Speaker 6 (38:09):
You got you earlier.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
You tell the cat you're working.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
I'm right, yeah, she doesn't know my work schedule here.
You know, it's like your wife asking you go to
go to home depot. Jeff, it's crazy you're in the
household this morning.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
But uh, I'm gonna go to the WNBA here.

Speaker 5 (38:27):
I'm gonna go with the Seattle Storm plus five and
a half the New York Liberty.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
They are not the same team without my girl. John
Quell Jones.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
John Qwell Jones makes a big impact as my screen
starts moving around because Oreo.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Is going it's crazy right now.

Speaker 5 (38:41):
I'm sorry about this, but I just think that if
you look at the Liberty, they haven't covered their last
eight games in a row, and when you're getting points
the Seattle Storm, I'm not going just by the last
game where they've won by ten points at home, but
they've shown that they're able to hang with the Liberty.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
They're able to beat the Liberty. There's not the same.

Speaker 5 (39:05):
It's a little bit like the Aces in a way, Jeff,
where they're just a little discombobulated.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
The Ace is more so than the Liberty.

Speaker 5 (39:12):
But from a covering standpoint, the Liberty are just not
firing on all cylinders. Why I feel comfortable laying the
five and a half, so I'll.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
Scoop the points.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
I'll take the Storm today plus five and a half
for the potside.

Speaker 6 (39:23):
Of the Links being favorites and who never playing the Sun.
The underdogs are covering a lot in the WNBA, a lot.
Brian and I tracked this every night. The Lynks cover
a time. They cover the last two games, even though
even though last night they might have actually missed about
half a point of a late comeback by the Valkyries.
But the Sun don't cover ever. So but I also

(39:44):
went and lay eighteen and a half today on the
Aces against the Sun. But these underdogs, crack man, they're
not even They're winning outright in a lot of games.
So five and a half in Storm stormware good. And
they didn't play terby Walgains. That was it dream the
other night that had come back later win that game.
They played someone on the road two games go, so
I like this play here. Yeah, Jones was started so

(40:06):
fast this year, and then we had her in a game,
remember brought She got hurt in the first quarter of
that game, and.

Speaker 5 (40:13):
She was doing great. She had like four rebounds immediately,
and then she was hurt.

Speaker 6 (40:16):
Look, the nature of wagering is sometimes you're gonna lose
a wager that way. I think it's odd when people
complain on social media, like I keep it my money
back sports book because someone got hurt. That's it's wagering.
It's not called winning. It's wagering. You're not gonna just
get your your money back. You you just you had
bad luck.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
That was the craziest thing. In the last couple of seasons.
The sports books started giving some money back on bad
beats or things that.

Speaker 6 (40:41):
Yeah, like hally burn for like your own superstars. Yeah superstars,
not for.

Speaker 4 (40:45):
That, I gotta tell you. Even though I'm I'm all
for the fans and getting the money back, it led
to a bad positive people going yeah easy on social media, right. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (40:55):
It was supposed to be like, hey, we're just gonna
be cool this one time, and it led to me, Hey,
can I have ice.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Cream for dinner every night?

Speaker 5 (41:02):
That's right, That's exactly what it turned into. Unfortunately, Hey,
good stuff, all right, hopefully we cash this.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Oreo is rooting for us coming up next.

Speaker 5 (41:12):
It hasn't been confirmed that we have fire, but man,
do we have some serious smoke. It is Fox Sports
Radios Countdown, presented by BETMGM. Happy Sunday to you. Hope
your day is off to a fantastic start. I'll be
at a happy fourth Schwartzy and I will be filling
in the next two mornings for two pros, so looking

(41:34):
forward to that. You can catch us here on Fox
Sports Radio. We're gonna get to some major league smoke.
We don't know if there's fire, but the smoke is
billowing right now. We'll get to that in a couple
of seconds here. Be sure to check out the Fox
Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just search Fox Sports Radio on
YouTube and you'll see a whole bunch of video highlights

(41:56):
instant access to our Fox Sports Radio videos on Youtubebe okay,
So a couple of investigations. One in Major League Baseball.
That would be Louise Ortiz there's a pitcher for the
Cleveland Guardians. He is on non disciplinary paid leave. There's
an MLB investigation because there was some irregular betting activity

(42:18):
and a couple of shady pitches. So you can bet
on literally just a single pitch if it's going to
be a ball or a strike or what have you.
And there was some irregular betting activity on a couple
of pitches with Louise Ortiz and the pitch is in
question here we're not even close to being strikes. So

(42:41):
it raises a couple of eyebrows, like, wait a minute,
what's going on here? Like you're pitching against the Cardinals
and it just happens to be the third inning, first pitch,
and there's a ball that bounces like five feet before
the catcher.

Speaker 4 (42:55):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (42:56):
It's like, wait a minute. So this is something that
being looked into.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
Also.

Speaker 5 (43:02):
The other investigation is in the NBA. There's a federal
investigation into Malik Beasley, where similar situation. There's been some
shady betting activity where whoa, there's this abnormal spike in
a player prop bet and there have been some highlight
reels that have been you know, like a little compilation.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
Of Malik Beasley strange plays where he.

Speaker 5 (43:26):
Takes a they're down by nine points and he takes
the inbounds pass with five seconds to go and jets
on the other end of the court and dunks at
home and his team covers the spread. This was two
seasons ago when he was with the Bucks. So, like
your your bird's eye view of these two investigations, what's

(43:47):
happening with the MLB investigation and the federal investigation into
Malik Beasley. What do you think about this?

Speaker 6 (43:53):
Well, look, I think there are different situations, but it
comes back to the same thing. Look, legalized sports wagering
has given us markets for players that we didn't have previously.
Right before that, when you had to use far away
sports books, you didn't get the player props that are
available now, right, it just didn't happen. You weren't able

(44:14):
to find these markets. So there you can say the
legalized sports wagering has led to an increase potentially in
players wagering on themselves or against themselves, most likely in
professional sports. You can also say very you know strongly

(44:35):
that because there have been checks and balances put in
place with the legalization of sports wagering that they're easily
caught now, right there, these irregularities are easily tracked, and
when there's a spike in in tickets on a certain player,
prop or money, it sets up an alarm and you

(44:56):
can now go find the cause of these illegal wagers
enterally right if someone wagering on themselves or again most often
against themselves. So both things are true. What's also true
is how incredibly stupid you have to be as an
athlete to wager on yourself. It never turns out the
way you think it's going to turn out. Never ever right,

(45:18):
you're going to get caught. There are so many eyeballs,
not even not even to the specific wager you're on,
but just watching you play every night if they see
something abnormal. People went back and found tweets the people
about Malik Beasley from months ago saying, guys, this guy,
what was happening right now? Someone has to investigate him.
They're just fans watching him play because it's so abnormal.

(45:41):
You watch the the Ortiz pitches, Dude, the rubber right,
the pitching rubber to home play is sixty feet six inches. Okay,
he threw a ball that went forty seven feet. He
didn't even try to get to the home plate. Now

(46:02):
with that specific thing, Okay, they're Beasley had gambling, not
gambling debts, had debts he was trying to pay off.
I think by throwing his player props like that was
clear if you read articles. What the Ortiz thing that
I found so interesting because as we all three of
us know, a sports book will limit what you can
wager on certain things, and they have to know who

(46:24):
you are often to give you a higher limit or
for unfortunately for Crack, like limit you because you win
so much, right, And the idea that that these micro
wagers right first pitch of a first inning ball or strike, crack,
how much can you get down on a prop like
that to make it?

Speaker 4 (46:44):
Would be my focus of my response. You're right, I.

Speaker 6 (46:50):
Mean, if you're lucky, a thousand dollars even money, maybe
I don't even know what I can't I don't even know.
I never made one of these before. I don't even
know they're not I don't bet MGM. I don't think
offers them. I mean, what's the number on a first
pitch of a game? Problem? I have no idea. So
you're not even making money doing this they're going to
flag you immediately. And my last point before get to

(47:12):
cract quickly. The reason why these leagues punish players so
harsh when it comes to gambling, and I agree with
the leagues on this, is it's the integrity of the
game issue, right. You don't want fans to think that
every time a pitcher is pitching, a hitter is hitting,
you know, someone's shooting a basket, someone's throwing a football,
that they're not doing it for competition and trying to win,

(47:34):
that they're doing it for making money on the side.
And you don't want everyone going through every There's a
video of Ortiz throwing a strike with two strikes, striking
somebody and yelling the F word afterwards, like see he
wanted to throw a ball there, but he didn't. You
don't want that, right, So crack I seed my time
to you, sir.

Speaker 4 (47:50):
Yeah, I listen, guys. I'm even though I'm doing a
fox here and I have some other media opportunities, really
blessed and lucky. My bulk of my income on my
wager is wagering on my taxes is from sports betting.
And I just know because I have gotten down a
lot of money when at first, when these new markets

(48:12):
first came to the United States here about seven years ago,
the props was very profitable for me. I did really
well on props. Now it seems like only the NBA,
I'm sorry, NFL and some NBA, but more NFL props.
I'm more successful because I can get down more money.
Me and my team don't focus as much on other

(48:34):
props for other leagues. A because you can't get down
as much. We've been limited so many times. B stuff
like this that we're talking about. Let me be blunt.
I don't even know where to bet first strike ball
or from a first pitch striker ball. I wouldn't even
know what sportsbook to bet at. And I have connections
all over I mean I used to fly back east

(48:56):
to Atlantic City just to be able to hit all
the different sports books on NBA and NFL. Most of
the NFL, like I said, player props. But as far
as baseball first strike, first ball, do you know how
much money? Even me with a ton of connections and
know the pulse of the industry, I don't even know
if I can get down a thousand bucks on something

(49:17):
like that. And that's me so with lots of connections.
It doesn't sound right to me. But looking at the
facts here and like Jeff said, forty seven feet, you know,
it just doesn't Something looks funny, But I just don't
know how much money you can get down on something
like that. Now I look at these guys' salaries and
I say, well, let me see what these guys make.

(49:39):
Where Teas made seven hundred and eighty thousand dollars, which
you know, it's still a it's still really good money.
Fifteen thousand a Weeknd's pretty good. But you know the
other guy's making fifteen million a year. So but you
just say, wow, is can or Tease be this stupid
to do something like this for a thousand bucks? Or
who knows? It could be dumb, it could be less,

(49:59):
it can act to be less. We all knew this
eventually being an issue after sports betting went legal. The
Beasily one is an interesting one because it sounds like
he bet on his own props. I personally bet I've
had action on his props the last couple of years.
I can remember games where he scored twenty five and
then games where he scored two points. It'll be interesting

(50:22):
to see how these cases pan out because they're setting
a precedent of how these cases will be dealting within
the future.

Speaker 6 (50:29):
I found it. I found it. I found it that
that has the market for first So first game today
is Braves and Orioles. Yeah, first pitch result, top of
the first inning.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
Wow, So what are you betting?

Speaker 6 (50:43):
We'll just looking. I'm buddy. I bet on a lot
of stuff. I haven't bet on this market. A strike
on the first pitch minus one fifteen, Okay, A ball
is plus one forty five.

Speaker 4 (50:54):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (50:55):
Any other outcome, Well, I'll go sorry, I'll go single
this A single is plus twenty three hundred. Extra base
hit is plus thirty four hundred. Any other outcome is
plus seven hundred. What is any other outcome?

Speaker 4 (51:08):
Home run?

Speaker 6 (51:09):
No home run is for extra.

Speaker 2 (51:10):
Extra base hit by a pitch.

Speaker 6 (51:13):
No hit by a pitcher's ball, hit by a pitch
plus one forty five. I mean he gets catcher's interference
ll be up there. Seven to one for catching interference
feels way too low. I don't even know what. Yeah,
it'd be catchers interference or like the ball explodes in
the pitches and count. I don't know what else will
the other but for extra base hit in the first

(51:35):
pitch of the game, crack thirty four to one today.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
Wow, Wow, it could be maybe an error. I don't know,
no error there.

Speaker 6 (51:41):
You go error, Yes, you're right, error base by error.

Speaker 4 (51:45):
Knowing that they you know he's going to throw a
ball at plus one forty five. I'm actually see I'm
not really immersed in that marketplace. So now you're telling
me if you found it that quick, maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe you could get a couple of thousand down on this.

Speaker 6 (51:58):
Well, I only found a sports books, So the other
one that I thought it would be on I can't
find it yet. It might be up at some point later.
But that's uh. And that game starts early, starts at eleven.
It starts in like War on the air, which is
shocking not early for baseball.

Speaker 4 (52:11):
Right.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
Well, that's the thing with.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Those hey guys. There's actually teams of guys that will
use a bot robot program to make a bet with
many outs all over the country and even in far
away places. So cumulatively, maybe you could get down that
much with a professional sending to get outfit. Maybe you
could on a first pitch ball or strike. So it

(52:34):
just it's interesting how how dumb. These guys will be
ruin their whole career though, for a couple grand.

Speaker 5 (52:40):
But that's the thing is we're talking. Maybe you get
down a couple of grand and you make a score,
Why would you gamble your career?

Speaker 2 (52:50):
Zero sense?

Speaker 5 (52:51):
And that's where Luis Ortiz, like Jeff raddled off all
the potential outcomes. That's why he's throwing a pitch that's
literally like five feet before worth a cadger. He's thinking, man,
it needs to be a ball. If this guy, this
pitch could be, you know, three inches off the plate,
clearly a ball. But he swings at it. Yeah, and
I lose this, you know, so I'm on the walk

(53:12):
for even more. So I got to bounce this thing
and it looks so abnormally shady. You just don't see
things like that routinely in MLB. But I'll just say this, man,
this is what it boils down to, is not just
for this. If you're gonna do something stupid, be as
smart about it as possible.

Speaker 2 (53:31):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (53:32):
It wouldn't if you're gonna do something stupid like rob
a bank, you wouldn't do it with no mask on,
you know what I mean? You wouldn't just be like,
all right, hey give me the cash. You're not covering
your face. You would at least do that. This isn't
a how to rob banks. I'm just saying, if you're
doing something stupid, be as smart as possible. And if
you're trying to, like I don't know, you're conspiring with people.

(53:55):
You're saying, hey, yeah, I bet my under it'll hit.
It's like, what are your tracks if you're gonna do this,
If you're gonna, you know, risk your career on a
couple of grand don't bounce the pitch five feet before
the catcher, like, make it a foot outside where it
looks normal like, and don't be greedy to a fault.

(54:16):
That's how John tay Porter got busted. They they had
this parlay. It hit for like eighty five thousand dollars.
It's a huge score. Is not good enough, Let's try
to do it. Let's try to win a million bucks.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
And then they're.

Speaker 5 (54:30):
They're looking into oh, hey listen, there's a telegram.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
There are text messages.

Speaker 5 (54:34):
They're communicating, communicating via telegram, and John tay Porter's like, yeah, yeah,
I bet the unders. I'll just play for a couple
of minutes, I'll tell them my eye is killing me.

Speaker 2 (54:44):
I'll get out of the game. It'll hit.

Speaker 5 (54:45):
You know, They've got all these they've got data, they've
got records, they've got messages. It's unbelievable what players think
they're gonna get away with. This is heavily monitored, like
crack again, this is just a normal betting activity that's
picked up by a service and they're like, whoa, this
is odd and then they start sniffing around and they're

(55:07):
going to find stuff that's abnormal if there is something
to find. So it's just the worst gamble you could make.

Speaker 4 (55:15):
It's crazy. It actually is if you think about it.
It's crazy that they're going to throw their careers away
over something. If it comes out after the investigation that
they're guilty of this, or they find out all it
takes is one person in the chain that only made
two hundred bucks instead of a thousand to rat them out,
you know what I mean, right, Like, that's all it

(55:36):
takes is someone in the operation to say, yeah, he
did do it, you know.

Speaker 2 (55:39):
Yeah, you trust all these guys, like with your career.

Speaker 4 (55:42):
Right with your career. I would Jesus.

Speaker 5 (55:44):
Think about that Crag like, if someone came up Malik Beasley,
he was in talks with the Pistons.

Speaker 2 (55:50):
For a three year, forty two million.

Speaker 5 (55:52):
Dollar contract, right, and that's on pause now as this
investigation sorts its way out. She's like, imagine if one
of you, know, you have some people that you work
with with your sports betting crack. Imagine if someone approached
you and said, hey, Crack, I got a proposition for you.

Speaker 2 (56:09):
I think this is going.

Speaker 5 (56:10):
To cash, but it might cost you forty two million
dollars over the next three years if we get busted.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
You'd be like, I don't even want to hear it.

Speaker 4 (56:18):
I don't want to hear it. I don't want to
even know what it is. Yeah, Like, I don't want
I don't want to even have access to knowing what
it was. Yeah. Right.

Speaker 6 (56:25):
You have you ever thought, Cracked that you were wagering
on something when the player was in on it.

Speaker 4 (56:32):
It's a fantastic question, And the answer is I never
thought that before I made the bet. But years ago,
when Donnie was was was refereeing, I probably bet some
of those games. I was probably betting them without even knowing.
Oh you had good love well, only because I used
to do a lot more NBA back then, and I
was working with a team that maybe have heard something

(56:53):
from the other team, the originating team, but personally, no,
I never knew I was betting something that was that
was in on something that that would that may maybe
a fix or something. No, absolutely not.

Speaker 6 (57:04):
Just you know, the only thing I you know, injury
information you get might you might get before public. That's
about all.

Speaker 4 (57:11):
That I get. Know that that yeah information, uh reporter
stuff that only that reporter would know because he's there. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (57:20):
Last year, I knew Cam Rising wasn't playing on Monday
before a Saturday game. It's Oklahoma State. Okay, I hit
Oklahoma State like all week. News comes out like Saturday morning,
cam Rise is not playing and you toss smoked Oklahoma States.
And that's one of those things where it's like, I'm

(57:41):
just never doing that again. I'm never like, I just
I'm never so frustrating to know six days in advance
someone else going to play Cracker starting quarterback Oklahoma State
was got was even close.

Speaker 5 (57:54):
Yeah, It's tough, man. It happens all the time, especially
in the NBA. Especially in the NBA, there will be
a team that has two of its stars out and
you're like, okay, all right, we're cooking with grease here,
and all of a sudden, the backups come in and
they are scratching and clawing for their lives, you know,
and you're like, well, this didn't work.

Speaker 2 (58:15):
It happens a lot. Something to keep in mind.

Speaker 5 (58:17):
If we go back to the Caitlin Clark situation, right,
like when the backups start getting minutes, well guess what,
they fight like crazy. You know that's not gonna sustain
itself over the long haul.

Speaker 4 (58:28):
But you know, guys, I wanna I'm not saying that
I don't do it, but I'm more hesitant to put
in our group chat, like when I'm betting against the
Dolphins in preseason, or when I'm betting against the Dolphins
season wins, or maybe against these.

Speaker 6 (58:48):
Hives and feel don't feel yeah, I mean whatever.

Speaker 4 (58:53):
I mean, I'm gonna bet it no matter what, but
I'm more hesitant to put it in the chat. And
like Brian's gonna say, oh my god, you're not betting
against my elphants for you know, for I think about
under eight and a half wins, like minus a dollar
fifty a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, and I'm like, wow,
I hit the button. I'm like, Brian's gonna be like,
oh my.

Speaker 2 (59:09):
God, no, no, get I think it's a smart bet.
Sadly for the trade too, for the trade.

Speaker 9 (59:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (59:15):
Yeah, speaking about Cardinals, I'm looking right now. Wow the
total seven and a half tonight for Cardinals Cubs after
two straight games of the over. The wind? Is the
wind still blowing out today? One of my favorite bets
to make all the baseballs and look up the weather
at Wrigley Field.

Speaker 4 (59:29):
If you get a good weather for origination, yes, you
have to get to google one.

Speaker 6 (59:34):
You hear right, was blowing out for years and it's
hot and wriggly. That balls I took over yesterday. That
ball is flying out. I was not afraid of the
Cubs to the eight home runs a game before I
saw the weather of nine degrees wind blown straight out
to center field. Just take the over and that feels
that feels really really low.

Speaker 4 (59:48):
Have you guys been the Wriggly both of you guys? Yes,
Oh yeah, I love it. There.

Speaker 6 (59:52):
I just I think it was super fun a couple
of years ago.

Speaker 4 (59:55):
Yeah, that's great, it's so good.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
Totally overrated, but still a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
Really, it was over the town is so you can
go for a Lou Malinatti's pizza and and uh, you
know that there's some great dogs there and great beef
sandwiches and and a Cubs game.

Speaker 5 (01:00:11):
Come on, yeah, hey, listen, it's a great time. It's
just I call it vintage Wrigley Field. I don't call
it historic Wrigley Field. You gotta have winning, a winning
tradition for it to be I call it finage.

Speaker 6 (01:00:25):
He's a Cardinals fan. Crack. This is like, it's like
a thing, right the Dodger Stadium stinks, which it does.
It's old and crack.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
I mean it's cool. You should go. I'm not saying
don't go. It's part of baseball history, it's part of
part of sports history. It's worth going.

Speaker 5 (01:00:40):
But if it's built up in your mind to be this,
you're gonna walk in and hear the Gregorian chant of
like you know, like, it's not like that.

Speaker 6 (01:00:49):
It's I heard it showed up.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
You did hear that?

Speaker 9 (01:00:53):
All right?

Speaker 5 (01:00:53):
We've got a Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):

Good morning to you, Christian.

Speaker 5 (01:02:11):
Okay, I always ask you, typically ask you what you
need at BETMGM today, you know, like big rooting interest.

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
What is there for you?

Speaker 4 (01:02:21):
Guys?

Speaker 12 (01:02:22):
Right?

Speaker 5 (01:02:22):
You need the Seattle storm plus the five and a half?
Like what do you need today?

Speaker 6 (01:02:26):
If anything?

Speaker 12 (01:02:29):
Yeah, I mean today is super quiet. But from the
baseball front, there is a lot of really star sutted
starting pitchers out there. At least, you know, you have Schemes, Wheelers,
scooball all going. So despite those big names pitching going,
we are still taking over bets on you know, regular
reverse player props, home run bets, things like that. So

(01:02:52):
the books have actually just opened for some big pitching
duels today and some nice love scoring outcomes.

Speaker 6 (01:02:58):
We just talked about some of these investigations that happened
with you know, professional athletes, right, Basketball, Baseball, nothing football
so far. If you're sitting there today, are you monitoring
some of like the bets that come in to look
for these irregularities and what do you so like, what's
your process after you see something like that?

Speaker 12 (01:03:19):
Yeah, well, finally good one to talk about. And a
lot of times from our perspective, we can really see
some of these things going, and it's probably uh wins
to how important it is to have regulated sports betting
as opposed.

Speaker 4 (01:03:33):
To off stores.

Speaker 12 (01:03:34):
A lot of these things will get missed. The one
with U or Tees. You know, we didn't offer that market,
so I can't speak on what happened there, but in
at least in the past, some things I've seen suspicious
wagers are usually actually pretty easy to point out. You
know that that one with or Tees, you know, first pitch,
third inning, that's probably a really low hold market. They

(01:03:56):
probably only take a couple hundred bucks per bet. So
suddenly you see a come through for a few thousand,
and then you see what that pitch was. Suddenly that's
gonna left some gears off in your head that hey,
something is a bit off here. But we do just
have general tracking that we can see, like normally this
this market will take X amount of dollars. So if
we start seeing a lot more action, all right, you know,

(01:04:16):
maybe something's a bit suspicious here, and we'll start to
look into it to see, okay, was this just a
regular bet or you know, maybe is there something here?
And we have flags that we can send to It
sends to a third party site.

Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
If we say, hey, we're.

Speaker 12 (01:04:29):
Flagging this game, they'll then flag it across other sportsbooks
and I suddenly we all see kind of the same
action going on. I think that's when suddenly, you know,
other people get involved.

Speaker 4 (01:04:41):
Christian, let me ask you, right now or early July,
people really aren't focused. They may be thinking about it,
but they're not focused on NFL. But however, us three
guys part of the Schwartz syndicate here, we are thinking
about some futures and I'll bet a lot of these
futures now into a softer market. I've been doing it

(01:05:03):
for months. Actually actually traveled all the way down to
Florida because for some reason they had openers up early.
But let me ask you, are you guys getting a
percentage anymore or any less than you would normally get
that you think thinking about the NFL and betting these
these futures and betting you know, season wins or to
win the super Bowl, or win the playoffs or whatever

(01:05:24):
it may be, to win divisions or is it no,
they'll come in more closer to first game regular season. Yeah,
this is.

Speaker 12 (01:05:32):
The part where this part of the season is quiet
and we won't take a ton of action up until
training camp starts. And once training camp starts and you'll
start here and you know, coach talk about this player,
and you know, we'll see some clips out there, and
suddenly players will start start to bet on teams that
they see through that. So until that starts against pretty quiet.

(01:05:53):
This is where from us as a training team, we
start to put our focus into just getting in many
props and different types of unique bets can out because
it will be quiet. And then suddenly once those training
camps start, we start getting videos and stuff. That's when
that's when it'll start to least escalate a little bit.
And then the the two three weeks leading up to
the season, that's when you know most of it will happen.

Speaker 5 (01:06:14):
It's interesting all that you offer for each team Christian
on Let's say NFL season win totals right where it's
not just your standard. Hey, well, the Ravens win over
or under eleven and a half games, you could go
over or under nine and a half or seven and
a half or thirteen and a half, fifteen and a half.

(01:06:35):
How much action do you see on those, you know,
alt win totals, And have you had any bets that
have you know, like opened your eyeballs, like, whoa, that's
a that's a bold move to go under you know
whatever over whatever?

Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
Has that happened to you this offseason so far?

Speaker 12 (01:06:53):
Yeah, so right now we only have a couple of
those up. The next couple of weeks will start getting
a lot more of those also, and we even end
up offering exact regular season wins. So if you want
to sit there and say exactly twelve, usually get a
pretty good number for those prices. Yeah, so we haven't
seen I wouldn't say we've seen anything crazy yet, but
I have seen like right now the toy lines to

(01:07:13):
miss the playoffs is taking more money than to make
the playoffs. I feel like that's one that's a little
bit interesting, one that you wouldn't really expect. You know,
we'll always see some weird ones. Last year, I remember
there was a lot of people betting against the Bills,
but on a far end of the spectrum. So some
people I saw took them like under five and a

(01:07:34):
half wins. I do remember having a lot on that,
but that was fortunate. We didn't have to worry about
that at all.

Speaker 6 (01:07:41):
Yeah, we do spend a lot of time on pro
sports and pro football, but we are college football guys.
Have you seen any futures in college football get hit
particularly hard so far? Any championship wagers or any any
overts for the most part.

Speaker 12 (01:07:57):
Yeah, so from the same vein, like this is the
part of the college football season where you know it
is also a little bit quiet. The most fat we've
had team so far is the favorite, which is Texas.
Outside of that, of how States taken a good amount
of bets, but really from that it's been actually pretty
stable in it. I can't see any teams looking here

(01:08:17):
that are anything. Florida would be the team. I'd say
it's like the outside team that we've taken. The amount
of faction in Florida actually looking at this now is
our biggest liability three to one? Now Yeah for the championship.

Speaker 6 (01:08:29):
Yeah, people like throwing away money, all right, I mean logways,
he can be good, but like to win a chance.
You think about the championship people, I don't think i've
figured out yet. Is you have to win three, four
or five of Asia Championship game, Like you have to
win these games in a row. Teams are not like
four teams are built to win that many games a

(01:08:51):
row in college.

Speaker 12 (01:08:51):
Football, right, yeah, exactly. With this new playoff structure, it's
it's going to be a lot more difficult. You have
to have to get lucky in so many different ways,
you know, for a long shot to suddenly get there.
Even though now they have more of an opportunity, you know,
it's just going to be like you said, you have
to pile and wins late in the season when everyone's uh,
you know, trying.

Speaker 4 (01:09:09):
Trying at that point, Christian tell the people listening, uh,
some of the inner workings of a sports book, especially
I'll use on a Sunday morning NFL season. Is there
one or two people that follow all the NFL straight
bets and decide to move. Is it one or two
people that just just their only job is to handle

(01:09:31):
the prop bets and when someone like a Bill Krachenburger bets,
you know, make sure you move, you know. Or is
it or is it not just on volume, whether we'll
have the whole team gets involved, or is it individuals
I've been privy to some of the inner workings of
some sports books, and I was really pretty surprised how
where I was. Anyway, I've seen they had one guy.

(01:09:53):
All he handled was NFL prop bet That's the only
thing he handled was the prop bets that day and
that was his job or or is it different at
that MGM, if you could say.

Speaker 12 (01:10:06):
Yeah, I mean at this point now with the amount
of prop betting that happens, just having one person on
that would be pretty tough. Definitely, back in the day
that was you know, more we had one person could
be able to handle that, But now that's a lot tougher,
as you mentioned. Yet, we have a giant red flag
button alert that goes off anytime Bill crackenber her bets. Yeah,
so ready to go there. But no, normally kind of

(01:10:28):
what we'll have is, uh, you know, if you're working
in this job, in this industry, you're not ever going
to have a Sunday morning off. So we'll put kind
of more people just on specific games, so you know,
that way they have the entire function of that game. So, okay,
I got the Eagles Bills game. All the prop bets
will come through, you know, they'll see it throughout that
whole day. Okay, you know I've been getting hit on

(01:10:49):
this underpassing prop whatever it may be, all throughout the day.

Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
Do you have a dozen guys in there, I guess
working the entire Yeah, wow, yeah, no one.

Speaker 12 (01:10:59):
No one's Sunday mornings off right.

Speaker 5 (01:11:02):
It's right next to that Louise Ortiz red flag button.

Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
Right, yeah right, yes, yeah, no doubt. All right, good stuff.
Christian is always have a great day. We'll catch you soon.

Speaker 12 (01:11:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
You guys have a good one too.

Speaker 5 (01:11:16):
Great stuff there he is, Christian Sippolini bet MGM trading manager.

Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
Good stuff, man. Yeah, it's crazy, all right. We go
from heavy hitter to heavy hitter.

Speaker 5 (01:11:24):
We go from a Christian straight to I low Mister
Isaac Lowen Crown with the latest.

Speaker 1 (01:11:29):
Well thank you, Brian and American Taylor. Fritz didn't have
to do too much heavy hitting today. In fourth round
action at Wimbledon is He defeated Australian Jordan Thompson to
advance to the quarterfinals. Because Thompson had to retire due
to injury in the second set, Fritz had been dominating
the match. Fritz won the first set six to one
and was up three games to none in the second
set when Thompson had to retire. In Major League Baseball

(01:11:51):
a short time ago, the Baltimore Orioles plays catcher Gary
Sanchez on the ten day injured list with the spring
right knee on the field. On Saturday night, the Houston
defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers six to four. Josh Hater
is major league leading twenty fifth save. Sho Hey O'tani
got the start on the mound. He pitched two scoreless
innings on his thirty first birthday and went up striking
out the side in the second inning. The Detroit Tigers wonted.

(01:12:14):
Cleveland won nothing on a Spencer Torklsen home run. The
Guardians on a nine game losing streak, and that was
the fifth time they have been shut out during the
losing streak. The Texas Rangers wanted San Diego seven to four.
Kyle Higashioka three for three with a home run in
five RBI. Willie Adamas of the Giants had three hits
and four RBI in a seven to two win over

(01:12:35):
the Athletics and the Seattle Mariners. Oh the Pittsburgh Pirates
one to nothing. Luis Castile struck out eight and seven
scoreless innings for the win. By the way, did you
guys hear what happened before the Mariners Pirates game on
the fourth of July a Team Mobile Park in Seattle?

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
So the stadium was pretty much empty before the game when, yeah,
a salmon fell out of the sky and landed right
behind the first base dugout and it turned out that
people in the stadium saw what happened a falcon drop
the salmon while being chased by an eagle on the

(01:13:16):
fourth of July. That's the most Fourth of July thing ever.

Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
Back to you, Wow, they didn't drop any apple pie.
What's up with that?

Speaker 1 (01:13:23):
Maybe maybe next time.

Speaker 5 (01:13:24):
This opportunity, my gosh, it is Fox Sports Radios Countdown
presented by BETMGM.

Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
Score bigger at bet MGM when you.

Speaker 5 (01:13:32):

Speaker 5 (01:13:34):
Even if your bet doesn't hit, We've got you covered
with no sweat tokens.

Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
And that's not all.

Speaker 5 (01:13:38):
Sign up with BETMGM today and you'll have access to
countless basketball betting options, including new look same game parlays, teasers,
live bets, and so much more. Okay, so either one
word or one sentence because we're up against it. But
I think there needs to be another investigation. Maybe the
New York Knicks need to be investigated because they fired

(01:13:58):
Tom Thibodeaux and they high Mike Brown. So, Jeff, what
would be your your one word or one sentence to
describe the Nick's canning Thibodeaux and hiring Mike Brown.

Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
How would you describe this incompetence?

Speaker 6 (01:14:13):
That's why they It's why they sucked for all these years?

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
Crack like this? What would be your one word or
one sentence?

Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
Cracked?

Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
How would you describe this thing?

Speaker 4 (01:14:22):
Yeah? You know, I just haven't really followed it that much.
To be honest with you, I have to admit it.
I have. I have to put my hand up like
a little kid to school. I just had a google
this salmon thing, because that like blew me away. I
was like, wait a minute, come on, a falcon being
chased by an eagle in Seattle and drops it right
on this right right at the stadium and no one

(01:14:43):
gets hit with the salmon. So I'm sorry I wasn't
fully immersed in what you were saying there, And yes,
it did happen. I Low is again late breaking amazing
information there, good job.

Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Yeah, Ilow does not report things that are incorrect, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:14:59):
Not that I doubt. I just wanted to know how
bigger news it was, all right.

Speaker 5 (01:15:03):
I would like to work in Salmon to this so
we could kind of like, you know, Mesh the Two Worlds.
But I can't think that quickly off the top, on
the top of my feet, on my feet, I should say,
Chris Purfett has something.

Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
What do you have?

Speaker 11 (01:15:17):
Yes, I'll give to Mesh the two. I've got one
word for the next rotten, fishy, stink, rotten.

Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
That's what the sire is.

Speaker 5 (01:15:26):
It's just stupid. It's at the end of the day,
it's just stupid. He had Tom Thibodeaux there, You had
a real identity, You made it to the Eastern Conference
finals for the first time and quarter of a century,
and you bring in Mike Brown, Like, how are you
any better? That's I'm not against changing. I'm just in
favor of changing. When you actually come out on that ahead,

(01:15:48):
I don't see how you're coming out ahead at all
with Mike Brown has been canned four times.

Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
I think Tibbs is a better head coach.

Speaker 4 (01:15:56):
So he's definitely a downgrade.

Speaker 5 (01:15:58):
He's absolutely a down there's no doubt. All Right, We've
got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight year
NFL veteran. I'm Brian No coming up next. Prop it up?
That is right the prop betting market. Christian Sippolini mentioned
a couple of aces going today.

Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
Is it a spot to fade them in any way?

Speaker 5 (01:16:18):
When it comes to props, we'll compare notes. It is
Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by Bet MGM. It is
Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by Bett MGM, and it
is time for the tire rack play of the day.

Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
Now the pitch swinging a drive in the air to
right pretty well, hit chuck going back onto the track
near the wall.

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
It's gone a grand slam.

Speaker 1 (01:16:43):
For Brandon Nemo, his second salami in the last week.

Speaker 9 (01:16:47):
Come mixer leading by a store of Ford and nothing.

Speaker 5 (01:16:51):
Yeah, it's courtesy of the Mets Radio Network as the
Mets hammer the Yankees again.

Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
Yankees have lost six straight. Rough for those Yanks. For
over forty years.

Speaker 5 (01:17:02):
Ty Iraq has been helping customers find the right tires
for how, what and where they drive shipped fast and
free back by free road hazard protection with convenient installation
options like mobile tire installation ti iraq dot com.

Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
The way tire buying should be. Okay, let's do this.
Prop it up player plays.

Speaker 5 (01:17:24):
Yes, the prop betting market crack. We start with you
with something you like.

Speaker 4 (01:17:29):
Well, let's go. This has actually been good to me
this year bending on this team on this sky against
this guy, but I'll actually more on him. School Bowl
Detroit strikeouts over seven and a half minus a dollar thirty.
We've talked about him earlier today. He's been one of
the most dominant strikeout pitchers this season. The Guardians have
been terribly lately, losing nine in a row. This is

(01:17:51):
a nightmare matchup for them. School Bill had thirteen k's
versus Cleveland earlier this season. I see no reason why
you can't get close to that number today, over seven
and a half to strikeout school.

Speaker 6 (01:18:02):
Did you just have thirteen like Sunday night? That was
the night right, No Sunday night right there, Sunday baseball.
He threw the buckle, struck out to earn that game.
I like the FISA Collier over twenty one and a
half points today against the Sky. The Sky played defense
against no one. I think you actually take the team
total over for the Links as well, when it's times.

Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Eighteen and a half.

Speaker 6 (01:18:26):
I believe the last I checked Bryant, which is a
super high number for the WNBA. But after last night
when they didn't get over right, that was like a
freak fourth quarter when no one scored. I like Collier today.
She was great last night, twenty two points last night
as well on the back to back, but she's had
twenty two, twenty eight, twelve, that weird Commissioner's Cup, twenty

(01:18:46):
three twenty six, so four of her last five games
she's been over she was scoring machine. And again the
Sky don't really play any defense.

Speaker 4 (01:18:54):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (01:18:54):
I'm gonna stick with the WNBA as well. I'm looking
at the Seattle Storm. I'm riding them again. I'm going
with Mekka Goomak. I'm gonna take a rebounds here without
my girl, John Quell Jones, not the same one the
glass those New York Liberty. So I'll go with Nekka.
It's six and a half. We got to get seven

(01:19:14):
rebounds minus a dollar thirty five. Not heavy juice, but
I like Nekka today to get over six and a
half rebounds. I wouldn't be surprised if if mag mcgore
goes over six and a half as well. Last time
they played, they both went over, So you don't. You
just don't have the same presence down low for the
Liberty without John Quell, like Stewie's doing her things.

Speaker 2 (01:19:36):
Do we will get do we might go over as well?

Speaker 5 (01:19:38):
She's at seven and a half. That's something else to
keep your eye on. But yeah, they're vulnerable. The Liberty
are on the board. So I'll ride with Neka to
go over six and a half rebounds.

Speaker 6 (01:19:50):
I uh, looking forward to the accidents. Baseball guys in
like thirty minutes. They had odd day, so they have
baseball today, you know someday normally baseball ends with a
NIE game at seven o'clock. There's games after that. Tonight
the Giants play a night at ten to fifteen easter
like that. I don't know. Is there a special reason today, Brian,
why they just are playing all day today, not the

(01:20:11):
normal schedule.

Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Yeah, it could be, could be like a.

Speaker 6 (01:20:16):
Baseball It's about time I constantly get on baseball's space
because they don't take advantage of these standalone situations where
they are the sport and they don't do this thing
where they go eleven thirty all the way up to
the night. It's at one o'clock, four o'clock the NFL Sunday.
So I like this for baseball we have with my Giants,
just trying to not stink it up.

Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
I like that I finally get to see the Giants.

Speaker 5 (01:20:37):
Because Vegas is the best and worst place to watch
sporting events. Everything, everything, everything West Coast is blacked right
national televised game. I see the Giants again. You know,
I was betting on them yesterday. I couldn't even watch
It's go Yeah, and I went to a sports bar

(01:20:59):
they anything happened ruin Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:21:01):
Yeah, it's crazy crazy Yeah. All right.

Speaker 5 (01:21:05):
Coming up next, we've got two quarterbacks. Is this a
silly or a smart comparison? We'll dive into that right
around the corner. Ah, yes, what is going on? Happy
Sunday too, You hope your days off to a great start.
We will get to a quarterback comparison that is either
silly or smart. We'll compare notes. That's coming your way

(01:21:27):
in just a couple of seconds. Hey, you can stream
this show and all of our Fox Sports Radio shows
live twenty four to seven in the new and improved
iHeartRadio app. Just search Fox Sports Radio in the app
to stream us live. And one of the newest features
in the app is that you can select Fox Sports

(01:21:48):
Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app and it'll always pop
up at the top of your screen.

Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
Okay, so.

Speaker 5 (01:21:57):
There is a quarterback comparison. I'm curious if you guys
think it makes sense or you think it's a little
bit silly. So I keep hearing Jaden Daniels, the Washington
Commander's quarterback, compared to c J. Stroud, the Texans quarterback,
and the tie in is, Hey, c J. Stroud, great
rookie season, and then year two last year not so good.

(01:22:24):
Is that what's gonna happen to Jaden Daniels Or that's
what's gonna happen to Jaden Daniels. I don't look at
it that way. I think they have completely different supporting casts.
I think they have two completely different styles. I don't
think that they're the same guy. I don't think they're
that close stylistically and supporting cast wise, there are obvious differences.

(01:22:46):
One of the biggest ones is the Texans offensive line
pretty leaky.

Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
You know. C J.

Speaker 5 (01:22:50):
Stroud's gotten sacked a ton and he's not a guy
who moves around like Jaden Daniels does. And by the way,
Washington picked up Laramie Tunzel, who's a four Texans left tackle,
so weekends detect and zol line strengthens Washington zone line.

Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
What do you make of this, Jeff?

Speaker 5 (01:23:06):
Do you think this is a smart or silly comparison
between the two quarterbacks and being skeptical of Jayden Daniels
in year two because year two wasn't great for CJ.

Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
Stroud.

Speaker 6 (01:23:17):
I think people really not want the Commanders to struggle,
but think a sophomore slump is going to happen, just
because that's what happens sometimes in the NFL, not all
the time, just sometimes, and last year it happened with Stroud.
But they're just very different offenses, Like just from an
ex nos perspective, right, like the Houston offense that terrible

(01:23:39):
offensive line and made no adjustments like that was what
It's sort of a Shanahan offensive problem. I'm not saying
the Niners had this a little bit, but that offense
doesn't allow quarterbacks very often to make strategic changes the
line of scrimmage do you call it and you run it?
And they got Houston to a lot of problems last
season offensively that injuries at wide receiver. Washington is not

(01:24:03):
at all like that offense. That's a much different offense.
And I have ragged on Cliff Kingsbury over the years.
I think he has not been a good coach, but
last year he did a great job. He actually got
better as a coach. For all the years at Kingsbury,
it's been the same second half of the season now
is good. The first half of the season and we
thought it was going in that direction. Remember Daniels hurt
his ribs a little bit, and they came back and

(01:24:25):
wasn't very good, and all of a sudden they boom.
They turned on another year. The Washington offense just is
better situated to continue to play well. Now it's gonna
be the same player year too. I don't know, but
I don't think it's fair to compare what happened to
Houston with their offense and their personnel and what they
had going on and then Washington. I also think Daniels

(01:24:47):
is a more sudden player than Shroud. Right, he's a
different player. Right, Straw could throw the ball. But the
suddenness with with Daniel plays. Being able to use his
legs as Washington does, allows him to get out of
a lot of bad situations where he doesn't have that
Like if you're struggling. You know what works when you're
struggling a quarterback run, It just does you have an

(01:25:10):
extra blocker. Defense is sometimes gets out of a lane
all of a sudden boom, You've had a tough day.
Run in the football quarterback fifty yards, like just those
options are available, just doesn't do that. So to me,
it's not fair to compare them other than just saying, well,
this guy struggled. I don't think Strut will be as
good as you Daniels be. He's good this season. I
think he's a struggle with struggle. I don't see that comparison.

Speaker 4 (01:25:32):
Crack. Yeah, I think it's normal to think that you
could see a little regression for Daniels like we did
with Stroud last year. Daniel's playbook was very limited, so
there'll be a little bit of learning of a learning
curve there, and also teams that have more tape on
them with the Commanders, so maybe the defenses will be

(01:25:53):
a little tougher on him. So he is a pure
athlete though, so I don't see him having too much
of a regression this season. And now you know they
added Debo, so who can really help the Commanders if
he's healthy and motivated. The biggest problem I have, you know,
is I just think that people in general, like I

(01:26:17):
want the guy to do well. I like him. I
actually like him. He came out of nowhere. I see
him that first Monday night football game. I have to
admit it, I didn't pay a lot of attention to him.
I think it was a Monday night or Sunday night game.
I said, Wow, this kid is really good. I liked
that he was throwing his body in there. And I
was like, even though you know a lot of of
course his coaches and stuff probably don't want him going

(01:26:38):
head first and stuff, but I said, wow, this kid
is really good. So I'm rooting for him though. I
have a good season to come back, and you know,
I know what happened they said with Shroud, But I
don't know. Daniels may be a better athlete.

Speaker 2 (01:26:54):
Yeah, you know, it's I don't know why we act
like c J.

Speaker 5 (01:26:58):
Stroud is we act like this is a common thing
that you have a really good rookie season and then boom,
you just fall off, and that's just commonplace.

Speaker 2 (01:27:08):
There are many times where.

Speaker 5 (01:27:09):
A quarterback plays really well his rookie season and he
doesn't greatly fall off in his sophomore season, like Justin
Herbert would be a good example of this. Justin Herbert
through the most touchdown passes for any rookie in the
history of the NFL. When he's a rookie through thirty
one touchdown passes, the next year his numbers are better.
He went from roughly forty three hundred yards passing to

(01:27:32):
over five thousand yards passing his second season. He threw
thirty eight touchdown passes his second season. His passer rating
is virtually the same. So this idea that, oh man,
we've seen this time and time and time and time.

Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
Again, just like c J.

Speaker 5 (01:27:46):
Stroud, where this guy has a special rookie season and
then falls off his second year. I just think it's overstated.
We're acting like CJ. Stroud what happened to him in
his first two years. That's happened all the time, like
just consiststantly, And that's not true. There are many quarterbacks
that have success as a rookie. They don't fall off
in year two. I don't think Jaden Daniels is falling

(01:28:07):
off when you look at him and what he brings
to the table.

Speaker 2 (01:28:11):
Feel is a big part of it.

Speaker 5 (01:28:14):
You know, we talk about accuracy a lot, and that's
obviously very important, but having a feel when you are,
you know, a thrower and a runner, as Jaden Daniels is,
you have to have a feel for that. Am I
extending this play and looking to throw or is this
the time to tuck it and run and get what
I can get? And he had an extraordinary feel for

(01:28:37):
that his rookie season. I don't see that just going away.
And I don't see how Washington's supporting cast. You know,
if they had all these free agency departures and all
these injuries late in the season that are going to
affect him this year, that'd be one that's not what's
happening here. If anything, they've strengthened the supporting cast. What
some of the things that Krack said with getting Debo

(01:28:57):
over there, Deanmi Brown, Like you get debo for Diami Brown.
I think that's advantage Washington right there. So I don't
see a falloff. And I've heard it so often. It's
just like, guys, they're not the same quarterback. Just because
CJ fell off doesn't mean Jaden Daniels is going to also.

Speaker 6 (01:29:15):
I think again, other than just wanting the talking point
of he's out a sophomore slump, there's no evidence to
that they're different players. They're playing different offense. They look
the division is hard, right, Like they Commanders might lose
the Eagles one, to lose the Cowboys and lose them.
They might happen because they're playing in a tough division. Yeah,

(01:29:35):
but that doesn't mean that Daniels is going to be worse.

Speaker 4 (01:29:38):
I like.

Speaker 6 (01:29:39):
I just I like the way Daniels is, just his makeup.
I like, there's a lot of things about Daniels that
I really I like what he I'm not saying I
don't like Stroup. I think Daniels. I've watched them for
years at the PAC twelve, in LSU, everywhere he's been,
he's been good. He has won. I think he'll continue
to win in Washington.

Speaker 2 (01:29:56):
Yeah, I do too, man, I think he's got the goods.

Speaker 5 (01:29:59):
By the way, a Fox Sports they put together a
list of the top ten NFL quarterbacks heading into the
twenty twenty five season, and.

Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
You know, you know me, you can imagine I'm off
and running.

Speaker 5 (01:30:11):
I'm like this guy over that guy, you know, And
then I paused for a second, and I'm like, I'm
curious what Crack thinks about this, you know, like from
a betting perspective, Crack like, certainly these quarterbacks and where
you slot them in the order that can affect which
teams you're betting on, which teams you're fading on a
particular NFL Sunday, So it matters.

Speaker 2 (01:30:32):
But I mean, when you approach this from a betting perspective.

Speaker 5 (01:30:35):
I could just anticipate where you're like, all right, here's
my top ten, and it's it's not the end of
the world if you've got this guy seven and this
guy ninth, right, Like, how do you think of a
top ten quarterback list when they come out like this
every single season?

Speaker 4 (01:30:49):
So now let me ask you something, Brow, Do you
want to announce the top ten? Are you starting to
do it? I can do it. Announce the top ten
with Fox come up with here.

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
Okay, Fox came up.

Speaker 5 (01:30:58):
It's, you know, the top ten heading into the twenty
twenty five season. That's important, like as is right now.
This is how they see it. So one, they had
Josh Allen, followed by mahomes Lamar Burrow, Jalen Hurts number five,
then Goth Baker, Mayfield, Justin, Herbert eighth, Jaden Daniels ninth,

(01:31:21):
Dak Prescott tenth.

Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
That's the list they came up with.

Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
Yep. The biggest problem I have with this list is
probably Baker at number seven. I mean, he's had a
couple of good years in Tampa, but he's probably trending
down towards the tail end of his career. When you
have Herbert Daniels that have yet to reach their peaks,
you have some they mentioned They mentioned them here as
honorable mentions, Stafford Purdy, Love Stroud, Murray bo Nicks. I.

(01:31:51):
You know, I don't know if Baker should be in
that top ten, but I have no problem with with
the list itself. You know, even though Burrow at number
four here, it just seems like he's been hurt. It
just seems like he hasn't really played up to his
potential either me. He yeah, he may be a number four,
Like maybe I would put him down a little bit

(01:32:12):
more on the list, but you know, maybe we just
haven't seen his full potential of a player there. Like
I like, I I'm gonna probably put Hurts, you know,
above him on the list, and just Daniels just just
to be there, I guess in the at this time

(01:32:32):
of his career after only a year or so, that's great, Dak.
I don't know. Yeah, Well, I tell you you look
at the money these guys got to. Some of these
guys got ridiculous contracts, and they just after they got
that big money, they just didn't play like they were
worth the money, a few of these guys. So, I mean,
if anything, I think Mahomes should his contract should be

(01:32:54):
redone throw out the super Bowl. But you know, he's
had this past super Bowl, He's had an unbelievable career.
He should probably be the highest quarterback and paid quarterback
in football.

Speaker 5 (01:33:05):
Interesting, what's your biggest beef with that, Jeff? You got
anything in the top ten agreement?

Speaker 6 (01:33:10):
Like who would replace Dak Prescott at ten? I just
I don't view him as a top ten quarterback. The problems.
I don't really know who that would be.

Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
I'd take Stafford. I don't know how you can have
oh Stafford.

Speaker 6 (01:33:20):
Yeah, I look at the starting quarterback. Stafford is better
than Dak Prescott. That's it's a good call the list.
Otherwise Field, I mean, Jordan Love probably should be up there.
He's probably about ten right in that discussion. I mean,
Kra's a good point about Bak. I just look at
the golf thing. I don't he's not the six best quarterback.
I know there's a difference between like production and talent.

(01:33:42):
Sometimes I think Herbert's better than golf. I just wouldn't
put golf at six ahead of ahead of Herbert. The
top feels about right. The thing about Joe Burrow is
if they had a defense, we looked that much differently.
I feel like it's in fact they don't have a defense.
They had a defense, he'd be like, wow, that don't
have a defense. So it really throws off how you

(01:34:04):
feel about Joe Burrow my opinion.

Speaker 5 (01:34:10):
I'm still bullish about the amnesia that many have about
Patrick Mahomes, like he's still the number one quarterback in
the NFL, and I don't you know stutter when I
say that he was freaking terrible in the first half
of the Super Bowl against the Eagles, and that absolutely matters,

(01:34:30):
But let's not act like that's the only thing on
his resume. It's getting ridiculous. Like the playmaker that he is,
the creativity, the athleticism, the field.

Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
That he has.

Speaker 5 (01:34:41):
Think about he's got Josh. They've got Josh Allen above
Patrick Mahomes. And Josh Allen is a fine quarterback. But
what has Josh Allen done in the playoffs? Exactly Like,
He's had some great individual performances, but the team hasn't
even gotten to a Super Bowl. Mahomes has three rings. Jesus,
why are we acting like we forgot about that he
had thirteen seconds left against the Bills and somehow set

(01:35:04):
them up for a field goal and then won in overtime.
When the Niners got in overtime in the Super Bowl
with the Chiefs and the Niners kicked a field goal,
what did everybody think? They're you messed up? You don't
think like that with any other quarterback than Mahomes. Ye,
So how does your list start off with someone not

(01:35:25):
named Mahomes?

Speaker 2 (01:35:26):
That's crazy to me.

Speaker 6 (01:35:28):
So I think this is a big year for Mahomes.
So last year, guys, I only understand his offensive situation.
So they played three left tackles last season, and including
a guard who played left tackle, had been four left tackles.
It was four four left tackles last season. Okay, they
played Kingsey, Sue Matia, they played Wanya, then they signed

(01:35:52):
Humphries and they played Tony. So four left tackles have
won this year, maybe two. We'll see if Simon is
healthy or not next year. If you recall, they started
the season with Race she Rice being the number one target.
He had almost thirty catches in three games. They got
hurt in game four. The goal wasn't to have Travis
Kelcey be number one last year, but it had to
transition to that because she Rice got hurt. Xavier Worthy

(01:36:16):
was a rookie last season. We saw the end of
year one. The jump he made right takes a little
bit of time as a rookie. Holler Brown was hurt
almost the entire season. Guess who's all healthy and playing
right now. All three of those guys are playing. They're
ready to go day went now. Rice might be suspended
at some point, but right now he's not. Plus they
added a guy in the draft who they liked, but Chako.

(01:36:38):
He figures healthy most of the season. Offensive lines better,
So all of a sudden, you mentioned had much better offense. Defensively,
they have to be average all they need on defense average,
They're gonna be fine on defense. That's a better team,
better offense, and people saying Mahomes can't play anymore, he
checks down too much. All these things I think point
in the direction of the Chiefs having sort of like

(01:36:59):
not a revenge, but like like we're here to stay.
And I do think Kelsey coming back for one more
season is an eternal sign of we're going for this again.
If Kelsey wasn't there, I think I feel much differently. Guys,
I've said this before. I thought he was talking after
the Super Bowl. I would have been out on the
Chiefs this season. But they're still very very much an

(01:37:20):
all in mode. Lastly, everyone points to the close games,
and I get it. The record of close games tends
to flip year to year. If you're bad one year,
you're good the next year. But a lot of times
that's like the game is close all game and just
comes down to like the final couple of plays. A
lot of the Chiefs close games are like they're up

(01:37:41):
two touchdowns right right, and they just fall asleep in
the you'll fall asleep in the second half, and like
they win by three. You know, it's not that they're
it's back and forth all game, and the Panthers lost
by three, it's they're up twenty to six. Kind of
didn't show up after half. I was at that game,
didn't shop after halftime, kind of lollygagged. It was twenty
seven night team. The Panther scorer went for two. There

(01:38:02):
were three passer afferences in a row on defense. They
finally get the two point version. I don't though the
teams are gonna lose the game at any time, So
that's my pro Chiefs take. I think they're gonna be
right back where they were one or two seed. I
think Buffalo is really good this year. I think Buffalo
would be the one seed in my opinion. But the
teams are back in the atw chanpiship game. I think
for the eighth straight season.

Speaker 4 (01:38:23):
Guys believe I have to tell you I had a subject.
But every time I think of something for this show
or any of my shows, I go to my notepad
and my iPhone. Put it in there for the future,
and when I want to talk about it, I have
to admit it. I had something for us for the
week before preseason. I can't help myself. I'm too caught
up at the moment. I have to mention it now.

(01:38:44):
So I'm asking both of you guys. Do you, guys,
you can't wait for NFL season because question mark? Question mark,
you can't wait to bet because you love betting NFL
props and games? Or is it actually watching the games
or is it a comonation of both. I go to
both of you guys for that. Jeff, let me hear
what you have to say. First, Oh, watching the games,

(01:39:05):
watching the games more than betting the games. Yeah, okay,
betting the props stuff, all right, I mean I.

Speaker 6 (01:39:11):
Will bet, but I will watch games I don't bet on, Okay.

Speaker 5 (01:39:14):
So watching yeah, watching the games, I mean that's more
for the regular season for me. Regularly, I watch everything,
whether I have a penny on it or not. I
love NFL regular season football, but I'm not watching preseason
the same way I'm watching right season, you know, So
it's more of a.

Speaker 2 (01:39:33):
Betting thing for me.

Speaker 5 (01:39:34):
When when you can have such an advantage with these
preseason games, Like, yeah, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:39:40):
Amazing to me.

Speaker 5 (01:39:40):
Imagine if Week six rolled around and you were like, hey,
one team isn't playing one of their.

Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
Starters, the other team is.

Speaker 5 (01:39:49):
It's like that would be pretty valuable information, right, So sure,
that's why you know, that's why I can't wait for
the preseason is those betting advantages.

Speaker 6 (01:39:57):
You know what's funny with the preseason is I don't
even I'm not disinterested in the preseason, but like crack
will give us wagers, which I which we love, of course,
and then I just like, I don't watch the game.

Speaker 4 (01:40:08):
I don't.

Speaker 6 (01:40:08):
I'm not like sitting around watching preseason football. I gotta
have a some sort of interesting like watching the players
play on the background. I'm not really and I'm looking
for like xcellent o stuff like a post on Twitter.
I'm not really. If we win a wager, I love it,
but I'm not. I'm not watching preseason.

Speaker 4 (01:40:23):
Probably for the regular season. Are you guys pulling watching
watching watch? Yeah? All right, good makes me feel better,
you know, degenerous gambling.

Speaker 5 (01:40:35):
There's still hope for us yet, Yeah, yeah, all right,

Speaker 2 (01:41:38):
All right, so one of the things that the Crackmeister
was interested in.

Speaker 5 (01:41:41):
Here topics today, a little bit of Lebron, a little
bit of LBJ action, and it's a lot of speculation about, Hey,
where's Lebron gonna play.

Speaker 2 (01:41:51):
He's a little unhappy.

Speaker 5 (01:41:53):
There was a tweet the other day where he was
at the Calves practice facility and a couple of outlets
pick that up and they're like.

Speaker 2 (01:42:00):
Hey, look at this. What's good.

Speaker 5 (01:42:02):
So I think we're going to have an off season
of hey, maybe this, maybe that. Some speculations, some trade possibilities.
I don't expect anything to change. Man, Like Lebron would
be too expensive, which is insane to say, because he's
teammates right now with Luka Doncic, Like, you'd have to
trade way more assets to get Lebron over forty years

(01:42:25):
old than LA had to trade to get Luca, which
is insanity, but that's the reality. You'd have to trade
so many players to get Lebron right now, it wouldn't
be worth doing it for a one year rental. So
he's not going anywhere place. He's got a no trade clause.
It's he's going to be in LA. I don't see
this going any other way.

Speaker 6 (01:42:46):
So I think it's possible trade deadline. There's Lebron chatter, Brian,
I think right now, there's not a couple of factors
in the why. I think that's the case. You know,
despite the Lakers getting DeAndre Aiden, they're not a championship
caliber team, right They're not gonna win championship. And I

(01:43:07):
could see Lebron and in the middle of the season
team's not as good as he wants it to be,
and he's just like, you know what, I want to
win one more championship. Wi he has said, he's basically
been very public about wanting to win. I can go
somewhere to try to win a championship now, and you know,
win a championship on a different team and semi legacy
as sort of the guy who can bring, you know,

(01:43:29):
bring a championship to the Knicks or so. I don't
even know where he would go somewhere right Also, with
the Lakers new ownership, there is no emotional connection to Lebron.
They didn't sign him, they don't know him at all.
There's no reason that they feel compelled to keep Lebron.
I even argue the sooner they get rid of Lebron,

(01:43:51):
the sooner, they could basically move on with their franchise.
And it's their franchise now, and so I could see
the ownership saying to Polenka and be like, hey, like,
if we can get a deal, let's do it. The
Lakers have almost we have almost no draft picks for
the future. You know, they're locked in this sort of
apron hell, I don't even know what you know with

(01:44:12):
the second third apron. They're in a bad spot right now.
With these salaries they're gonna have to pay Luca. I
could see them saying, look, if we can get an
offer that's that works for us mid season, we'll move
off on Lebron Riley Lebron. But he won a championship,
he brought that to LA and now it's time for
it to be Lucas team, and let's get younger and
let's get out of his salary.

Speaker 12 (01:44:31):
Now.

Speaker 6 (01:44:32):
Does any team want to trade friend Brian? You make
good points about his age, about his willingness to maybe
want to be traded, But I think the Lakers will
explore it trade deadline. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:44:42):
Until I heard that that little bit of him in
the Cleveland training camp or whatever it was, I kind
of thought that the city, the team, everyone was dedicated
to Lebron. But I mean, though I think he says
in LA, yes, it's most likely his last year. He
seems comfortable there, and Brownie stall on the team too,

(01:45:02):
so it makes sense for this to be this last
year and stay in LA. But you know, I gotta
tell you, I just thought that someone like himself puts
so much money in the seats, and isn't that part
of the Now I don't know too much about the
new ownership, but isn't that part of anything is is
filling up the seats and not that every Laker game

(01:45:24):
is not going to be sold out anyway, But you know,
you just think that he's part of the establishment here.
I never even thought anything of this guy would be
on a different team to end his career or go.
I just thought he was gonna be with like even
the Lakers management for many years to come. So now
I don't know if that even talks of that, you know,
And Jeff just mentioned the new ownership. It sounded like

(01:45:48):
he was saying that maybe they don't even not that
they don't like him, but maybe they don't really honor
him like the old ownerships in the past. So it's
gonna be interesting though. But I thought he's staying there
for now. However, future, you know, being a coach or
something like that, I thought maybe he'd be something do
something like that. But maybe I'm wrong there too.

Speaker 2 (01:46:09):
Yeah, if the start of the season he's not going anywhere.

Speaker 5 (01:46:12):
No, but but Jeff brings up at the trade deadline,
if he's completely disgruntled and the Lakers are looking at
this and saying, hey man, we're not winning a title
like rap Polinkaz made it known. They're looking at clear
cap space for twenty twenty seven, right, so they can
try to go all in and really build around Luca.
So if trading Lebron, if he wants that, and there

(01:46:34):
could be a win win for both sides come deadline time.
But at the beginning of the season, like the Cleveland stuff,
there's no chance to know how that happens. They'd have
to trade so many players, they have no cap space none,
They're over the cap, right. And I also thought about
remember when Kawhi Leonard got traded to the Raptors.

Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
And it was just like a one season rental.

Speaker 5 (01:46:55):
Yeah, that's the one thing I could like kind of
compare it to Lebron, and I looked at their individual
numbers those seasons, like when Kawhi was in Toronto and
Lebron last season, Lebron's still putting up numbers, right, But
if you look at Kawhi, he got traded with Danny
Green to the Raptors and the Spurs. They got DeMar

(01:47:16):
derozen Yaka Pertle, they got a twenty nineteen first round pick.
That's all they got.

Speaker 2 (01:47:22):
They would take way more to get Lebron, and a
lot of teams just can't do it.

Speaker 6 (01:47:25):
I think the hard part too, is that, like to
make the trade work, now you have to trade. You're
wrong here, Brian, Like, the money's got to be about
to say, but you used to be able to dumb
contracts on teams, so money has to be the same,
which again feels again hard to Like, Lebron makes so
much money, it's hard to find an equivalent contract. So
you're trading multiple players for Lebron. But I mean, look

(01:47:47):
what if your if your team is one player away,
I mean what would that be. I've seen the one
thrown out, the Knicks thrown out there. Who is what
You're gonna be one player away in the middle of
the year that needs Lebron that badly. I just think
there's gonna be very few choices. They can't even give
the Lakers what they want in the end, right, you

(01:48:08):
have to give the Lakers the money and the and
the draft picks and the players they want for Lebron,
and it feels unlikely anyone will be able to match that.

Speaker 5 (01:48:16):
Yeah, those are the two things go ahead a couple
a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (01:48:20):
I just remember Ilo saying to us that wasn't he
just didn't they just pick up his last season for
like fifty He did seven millionaire fifty two. So now
what does that exactly mean? Does that mean that they
they're gonna they agreed to pay him for the last year.

Speaker 2 (01:48:37):
No, it was a millier options, so Lebron opted in.

Speaker 4 (01:48:40):
To make this.

Speaker 6 (01:48:42):
The NBA is unique. They have player options where the
baseball might but the NFL certainly doesn't crack. And you'd
be surprised. Every player exercise is the option to get
paid millions of dollars. They never say no, which is
like very funny, Like, oh, Lebron bys she noted fifty
two million dollars. I will tell you one guy, Austin
Reeves said no, that's because he's going to make an

(01:49:03):
extra you know, twitter million on the open market after
the season. But yeah, I mean he said, yes, the
fifteen million dollars, which you you know again is a franchise,
you store of no very nice. It was fifty two
million dollars. I mean, I SGA is making they said,
SGA by the maybe thirty year of his deal. He
makes a million dollars a game, and it'll make like
one hundred thousand dollars per foul shot. Well, it's very funny.

Speaker 2 (01:49:28):
Its a lot of file shots.

Speaker 5 (01:49:30):
You know who also opted in to a fifty two
million dollar pay payday this season, That's right, that would.

Speaker 2 (01:49:37):
Be Isaac Lowankrun. I heard mister money Bucks I Low
with the latest.

Speaker 1 (01:49:42):
I just do this for the love of hanging out
with you guys. The charisma of the three of you
is just so overwhelming. Well, speaking of money, and speaking
of the NBA, guys, I got a fresh NBA update
for you. Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving, who tore his
ACL in March, has given an update on his recovery.

(01:50:06):
While taking questions from fans on a Twitch video stream,
Irving was asked if he'd be back in time for
the twenty twenty six playoffs.

Speaker 9 (01:50:16):
Will you be back by playoffs?

Speaker 4 (01:50:18):
Don't hold your breath on that, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 9 (01:50:21):
It doesn't mean that I won't be back. It's just
don't I don't want to make any predictions on when
I'm gonna be back.

Speaker 7 (01:50:25):
I just want to be back one hundred and fifty
thousand percent better.

Speaker 4 (01:50:29):
So I'm taking my time right now to really get healthy.
I'm taking my time to.

Speaker 7 (01:50:33):
Really get my body right, other parts of porches of
my body right, and really just enjoy this recovery process. Man,
it's not pretty. Yes, it is a beautiful struggle. But
I go through kind of the mental roller coaster ride,
you know, every day. Just want to be back out
there again.

Speaker 1 (01:50:49):
That's straight from Kyrie Irving's video stream and fourth round
actually at Wibledon today, American Taylor fritz defeated Australian Jordan
Thompson to advance in the quarterfinals after Thompson had to
retire to injury in the second set. Fritzen won the
first set six to one. He has had three nothing
in the second set, when Thompson had to retire baseball. Today,
the Baltimore Orioles plays catcher Gary Sanchez on the ten

(01:51:10):
day injured list with a spring right knee. The Orioles,
as we speak, just underway in Atlanta. No score in
the first inning.

Speaker 5 (01:51:17):
Guys, We've got baseball going on during the show. I
love this beautiful thing, very nice.

Speaker 2 (01:51:22):
And it's not even in Europe. That's that's right. It's
not in South Korea or something like. You know, it's here.

Speaker 5 (01:51:30):
It is Fox Sports Radio Scountdown presented by bet MGM
Baseball on the Brain, right, I loove just mentioned baseball
going on right now. How about these Yankees? Man, they've
lost six games in a row. It's the second time
they've lost six in a row in three weeks. What's
the biggest problem? What would you point to, Jeff?

Speaker 6 (01:51:50):
Everything? Obviously, look the pitching and the injuries that just
have decimated them, right as we know. And then you know,
no surprise, you know, Will Warren's on earth a little bit, right,
and you know they just they they missed Soto. I mean,
what a surprise, shocking, right, they missed one of the
best series in the game. So you can couple it
all together at their defense, I mean the Yankee fans

(01:52:12):
want to voltee back to to single lay. I mean
like they're like, they're so get rid of this guy.
So it's everything, right, it's everything. It's it's the defense,
which was bad last year, was second, had the second
most errors for any playoff team. It's not gone much better.
It's inconsistent hitting, it's not protecting Judge, and then the
pitching has been hurt. So all the things are adding

(01:52:32):
to you know. Look, I wonder if the Yankees will
go heavy into uh into the trade deadline. There's a
lot of teams to be willing to part with starting pitching.
There's a couple of guys on the White Sox they
are pitching well that I can't imagine they're gonna hold
on too very very much longan there's guys to trade
for it, if you want to go find them. I
just don't know if if the Yankees are willing to

(01:52:53):
sell off any assets to make it happen.

Speaker 4 (01:52:56):
Yeah. Did you guys see that Judge had a bandage,
a white bandage on his eyes. Yeah, there's one eye.
I just didn't know. God in between innings like.

Speaker 6 (01:53:12):
Yeah, it's like stuff, I see my son's little league games.
I'm like, I'm like, don't. I'm like no, no, no, no, no,
don't don't his face, don't do his face? Please?

Speaker 4 (01:53:20):
Are you, Jeff, by the way, you're still are you
coaching the little league?

Speaker 6 (01:53:24):
It is summertime, crack, there's no uh no, little league's
over more. Yeah, okay, tomorrow My kids go to camp
for a month July seventh, August.

Speaker 4 (01:53:33):
First, now you say, go, are they going away like
you guys have.

Speaker 6 (01:53:36):
On their own to Georgia.

Speaker 4 (01:53:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, your wife is letting them leave for
a month.

Speaker 6 (01:53:42):
Uh yes, yes. So this is the thing that it's
not a West Coast thing at all. I grew up
in California. No one I knew went to Sleepway Camp.
It's certainly a Northeast kind of thing that trickle down
here to Jewish camp in North Georgia. And the kids
have a blast, they love it, and they're going tomorrow
for a month. So and you can't talk to them.

(01:54:02):
Only letter going to the letters you get Yeah, you
get pictures on an app. There's like facial recognition software
that that picks up pictures. You can watch you can
see pictures every day. Both my kids, my birthdays this
month too, so we do miss their birthdays. They do
a big deal it can for the birthday though, so

(01:54:23):
uh yeah, they go away tomorrow for a month. They
love it. Man, I look, we wouldn't send them if
they didn't want to go, like they very much enjoy it. Yeah,
so you think that and then it becomes very's is
just very like how much baseball and w Bacon can
you kind of watch? You know, like it's just I

(01:54:46):
go to Dallas for their offensive line convention this week,
and then you'll go in to Vecas Yeah you go. Yeah,
but like I've been to Vegas so many times it
doesn't feel like a vacation anymore, if that makes sense.
And I'm working a little bit, so yeah, I mean
we'll go to the beach. I would imagine a few
times to hang out the dog, and I'll go all

(01:55:07):
golf a bunch. I'll tell you that, I'll golf a
bunch and.

Speaker 4 (01:55:10):
You have some time with the misses. And is she
coming to that? You still don't know she's coming in Vegas,
will you.

Speaker 6 (01:55:15):
I'm I'm working on a crack all right.

Speaker 4 (01:55:18):
All right, we won't say that.

Speaker 5 (01:55:20):
Super fast baseball things before we get to our picks
around the corner. How about this the Yankees era their
team era since June thirtieth, which was the beginning of
this losing streak nine fifty six. Wow, that's insanely high.
That's the worst a MLB in that span. And the
other quick thing Otani two innings pitched last yesterday, looked good,

(01:55:44):
only gave up one hit, a couple of like struck
out the side one inning.

Speaker 4 (01:55:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:55:49):
What when playoff time rolls around? What are you expecting
from Otani?

Speaker 2 (01:55:53):
Is he foll go?

Speaker 5 (01:55:54):
We're expecting you know, six innings pitch, seven innings pitch
legitimate starter as they ease him back in.

Speaker 6 (01:56:00):
Yeah, yes, especially with the with the Dodgers pitching, I
think I think they need that r and back in
their line, back in their rotation.

Speaker 4 (01:56:05):
Got it?

Speaker 6 (01:56:05):
I think you have to. I mean's because he is
two and a half, he's struck out the side last night.
He's obviously getting back into it. He's obviously a really
good picture. So I think you full of tawny man
you get to the picture and the hitter.

Speaker 5 (01:56:15):
Yeah, I think it's funny his last doubting where they're
like easing him back in. Quote unquote, and he's throwing
one oh two point seven. That's the pitch of his career.
All right, We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz,
eight year NFL veteran. I'm probably in no coming up
next a bushel of picks. Crack will have his play

Rapid fire.

Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
All right, crack, we start with you. What something you like?

Speaker 4 (01:57:51):
Okay, let's go with Oakland. Did I just say Oakland? Sorry?
The Athletics, Yeah, ye, Athletics first five today. I kind
of stick the first five, though, I'm gonna come back
with a full total. Athletics first five, under five and
a half Athletics, San Fran The night game, seven PM game. Yeah,

(01:58:14):
you guys have some late night action.

Speaker 6 (01:58:16):
First five.

Speaker 4 (01:58:17):
I'm sorry, Yeah, a's first five? What did I say?
I'm talking under five? And am I'm wrong here? Guys? Sorry?
Ace first five minus a dollar thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:58:25):
I apologize, got you all right? As breakout guys?

Speaker 4 (01:58:30):
Yeah, there we go.

Speaker 6 (01:58:31):
All right, So I put this in my thing here.
I wanna I want to. I want to be late
night action, but against my favorite team. If it's uh,
if this is ever gonna post like, it's not gonna
it's not out here. This ace is first half thing
that's kind of bothered me.

Speaker 2 (01:58:49):
Brian, Yeah, right, I noticed that last night. It's never
popped up.

Speaker 6 (01:58:52):
Today, it's not popped up yet. So but I do
like the links here. Let me pull up there. Over
eighty seven and a half points against the Sky today.

Speaker 5 (01:59:03):
All right, Jeff, I don't know if you're gonna like this,
you're gonna hate this, if you're gonna discontinue. Yeah, so
I'm gonna stick with the same game. Maybe we'll just
go with the over in this game, I've got the
Chicago Sky. Their team total over seventy.

Speaker 2 (01:59:18):
Two and a half.

Speaker 6 (01:59:19):
They scored a ton of points lately.

Speaker 2 (01:59:21):
They've scored a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:59:22):
They've scored over this total in each of their last
five games, and that included against the Phoenix Mercury against
the Atlanta Dream, two pretty good teams. And you look
at Minnesota, they've played a ton of games. So the
last time that Chicago played was June twenty ninth, And
if you look at Minnesota, this will be their fifth
game in eight days. Like, that's a lot of basket

(01:59:45):
it's a lot more basketball than the Sky have played.
I think the link is gonna be tired here. And
you know, if all things are equal, they have the
same amount of rest. Yeah, I wouldn't be looking to
play a Sky over, but with it being tilted greatly
in the Sky's advantage in terms of rest, I think
they're going over seventy two and a half points today,

(02:00:07):
So give me that.

Speaker 2 (02:00:08):
Are we still friends?

Speaker 6 (02:00:11):
The Sky has scored a ton of points man the
last since, since the last month, and they keep scores.

Speaker 12 (02:00:16):
I'm with you.

Speaker 2 (02:00:17):
Yeah, all right, cool, very nice. We got Cracks player
of the day.

Speaker 9 (02:00:19):
Let's do this.

Speaker 2 (02:00:23):
This is the best play of the day. Okay, Crack,
what is it?

Speaker 4 (02:00:30):
Okay, guys, And just for everyone listening out there, this
is not as strong as the regular season stuff for
this baseball stuff, but I said regular season football will
always be regular season to me, Toronto, La. Let's go
under nine minus one ten and bet MGM today Toronto
and that game starts in about forty minutes, guys, So

(02:00:50):
there we go. We have a baseball total for you.
Got the Athletics first five and again, can't wait till
football season.

Speaker 2 (02:00:57):
You love some first five action?

Speaker 6 (02:00:59):
Crack.

Speaker 2 (02:00:59):
I like that, you know, hone in on that.

Speaker 5 (02:01:01):
Yeah, preseason NFL not that far away, counting down the days.
Enjoy the day, We'll catch you later
