It's t J.
Speaker 6 (00:57):
Husmanzata. I'm LaVar Airrington. Plexico is off today handling he
Au travel basketball whatever it is what they call it
these days.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
TJ.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Man You, I mean, yeah, but he may be and
I'm not maybe. I'm assuming they're on the E Y
b L circuit right now playing okay, which is like
that's last ninety.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah, it is the best of the best. They have
to night the e YBL circuit.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
My son will hop on the junior E y b
L circuit starting this FALLAM.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Yeah, I want to ask some question because somebody just
I can't wait.
Speaker 6 (01:37):
You're going to get the opportunity to ask him to
at some point here. Uh, we got a lot to
get to. Uh this is up on game. Uhh yeah,
well let's let's do this. Do we have him yet?
Bo bo, Okay, we don't have them. Let's let's do that.
(02:00):
Let's jump into h During the course of the week, TJ.
Obviously we had conversation about RG three and that was
last week's show. It was RG three and Ryan Clark
again over RG three's approach to a topic connected to
(02:20):
Angel rees. He said that some people from her inner
circle reached out to him, said that he confirmed it,
that they confirmed that Angel Reese indeed does hate Caitlin Clark,
which I think is that's like, you know, who cares anyway,
But nonetheless he put it on a post. But he
also accompanied that assertion with a photo of Angel Reese
(02:43):
in a monkey suit for the basketball game, the game
that you know, for their league and made comments about
that well, as we all have heard, even though we
didn't get an opportunity until today to talk about it.
Shaquille O'Neill had some point at words towards r G
three about the scenario, and uh well, here's what he
(03:07):
had to say.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
I was speaking to man RG three tweeting tweet another
monkey post about my girl injury or some punch in
your face. Okay, it's enough, Like I don't usually do
stuff like this, but just stop it, bro, You got
your job, you got your podcast. Leave my angelerries alone.
I'm the one called her and telling her not to respond.
Stop it. That's the last time. Okay, thank you. It's
(03:30):
not real hate. We look around what's going on in
this royal country. That's hate. This is this is sports.
I'm not supposed to like you. It's a shame that
all the stuff you did in your life, you're gonna
be remembered for your podcasts. You're gonna be remembered for
your podcasts that you tell you you're not that great.
I don't want to be remembered for your shacks a
bit podcast.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
I do not mean I get where he's coming from.
I don't know that I totally agree with everything the
Big Diesel had to say. But what I do know
and what I did here is Shaq being passionate about
letting RG three know that even in a moment where
maybe RG three thought he was defending Angel Reese. I
(04:12):
don't know how he could have thought that his pure
intentions of posting that was to uh to defend Angel Reese,
but maybe he did. I don't know, But Shaq made
it a point to let him know he didn't feel
that way about it, and if he were to do
it again, h that he's gonna punch him in the face.
So he gave him a like a physical threat. If
(04:35):
you're RG three, how would you respond? How would you
respond to that?
Speaker 5 (04:40):
Like?
Speaker 6 (04:40):
How how do you take that if you have someone
of the status of Shaquille O'Neill, you know, sending you
a message like that?
Speaker 3 (04:49):
If I'm RG three or if I'm TJ.
Speaker 6 (04:52):
Uh okay, if you're TJ, I don't think TJ. TJ
wouldn't do this to put himself in that I'm not
putting myself. If you're in that situation as RG three
and your TJ, how do you handle it?
Speaker 4 (05:06):
If I'm me? If I want I want you to
show me that you are gonna do what you say
you're gonna do. Then show me like because you punched
me in my face, Uh, you better have something else
with you. So like, I ain't gonna man, I wish
somebody would just threaten me like that publicly. But I
(05:26):
get shocked though, because he's feeling he feels like r
G three has crossed the line with Angel Ree some
more than one occasion. And you're you're, you're you're trying
to get clout so to speak off of her. By
by doing that, you you act like you were defending her,
but you reposted that like, come on, we knew what
(05:48):
you were doing. And so she may want to go
at him, her brother may want to go at him.
But they have a lot to lose, They have a
lot on the line. They still are in the infancy
ease of their career. They just getting started. So Shaq
is defending her. And when you got somebody, whether it's shocked,
it's just somebody in your corner that can ride for
(06:10):
you and say listen, stop now. When it's shocked, not
only is he huge figuratively and literally the name the
player you just respected and say you know what, my
bad I got you. I'm done with it. But the
pride in you, like you're gonna do what? All right,
(06:32):
show me you're gonna do that? Dan stand on it.
But I feel Shack defending her. I wish it wouldn't
have gotten to this. I just don't understand the why.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Like I get it.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
You know, everybody's in the media, everybody does a podcast
RG three, working at ESPN. Why because you know when
you do this, it's gonna gain a ton of traction
when it's injury, and so that could be why. But
I could appreciate Shack standing up for they both went
to LSU had did, as did my children.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
They had that connection.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
But Shaq is just looking after a young woman man,
making sure that she's protected in the world full of people.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Man, they just don't care.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
You know what I found to be interesting. I heard
a take on it and I want to throw it
at you cause I found it to be pretty interesting
because I had to stop and really like think about
it from the angle and the perspective that the person
brought it from. I don't remember who it was. It
was like I was going through social media. So sorry
for not giving you your credit or you just do
on it. But he basically was, like, what other TV personality,
(07:41):
you know, brand personality would have the latitude to be
able to do that, you know it basically come out
and threat threaten somebody with physical harm and there not
be any type of fallout, repercussions or anything that took
place from it, you know, is it's kind of like
(08:05):
what and and and the way he stated it the
way he stated at TJ, he basically said, if it
were a white counterpart that did it and said that
I'm gonna punch you on your f and face if
you say something else about you know, this person, would
it have been handled the same way. And I'm not
(08:27):
sure what what that conclusion. I don't know definitively how
that would be handled, Like like say, for instance, Al
came out. Is that is that the other who's who's
the host of the show with with with Kenny and
Shaq and and Charles what was his name? Ernie Ernie
Ernie say Ernie comes out and saying I'll punch you
(08:48):
on your face you say something else about her. I mean,
maybe he's big enough. Maybe they wouldn't care, Maybe they
wouldn't take it seriously. I don't know, but I do
know you could take it seriously that if Shaq's saying
he's gonna punch you in your face, I would assume
he means he's gonna punch you in the face. So
if somebody else were to come out and do that,
I mean, would a would a brand still want to
(09:10):
represent you?
Speaker 3 (09:11):
What?
Speaker 6 (09:11):
They still want you saying by our product? What they
Would you still be working for a major outlet if
you had came out and handle it the way that
Shaq did. I don't know that the answer is yes.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
I don't know that it's even a color thing. I
don't think if you're as high up as Shaq is
as a black person, I don't think that you would
be able to survive something like that, just based off
of the balance of it. What would your take be
on that?
Speaker 4 (09:40):
I mean, but because Shaq is such a big dude,
Like when Shaq says that, I think people assume, like, yeah,
they gonna be quiet because.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Yeah, okay, and then you know he meant business.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
You know, he took his shades off when he said it,
so you don't look into my eyes and see that
I ain't playing. But I don't know if it's someone else,
like we assume like, yeah, you did he really just
say this to him, like well he got the nerve.
But when Shaq said it, it was just like, oh, yeah,
you might want to chill as shack. Yeah so it
(10:18):
Well we'll we'll never know. But again, if you are
G three, I'm leaving it alone. I don't I'm not
uhoking that one. No, I'm not bringing up I'm not
even gonna talk about Angel Reese anymore again, Like she
will never be on my social media unless I'm working
(10:42):
on TV and I'm asked about her. I'm not discussing her.
I'm not bringing her up. I'm gonna just let it
be because it's obvious when he speaks on Angel Reese,
it's almost as if he has a bias against her,
like he doesn't like her, and it comes off that way.
(11:03):
He may not feel that way. I'm just saying on
the outside looking in, I don't know that way. I
don't know Angelies, I don't know RG three, but it
does come off as if he doesn't like her. And
so when you do do these things, it's like, oh, okay,
he's picking on her again, not as is he's just
reporting on her. He's just he's picking on her.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
And so he's doing it on his own platforms, right,
It's not like he's doing this on on a major outlet.
He's doing this on his own platforms, you know what
I mean. So it's like you didn't we mentioned this
in the show last week. He did not have to
to post repost what that person had created like that.
You could have responded to what that person posted without
(11:48):
reposting that that that content you did, that that was intentional,
Like that was intentional. And I don't think anyone could
ever justify that not being an intention act by RG three.
And that's where to me, that's where I say he
crossed the line. If you were really intending to say
you were in this to defend Angel Reese along with
(12:11):
the idea that I'm telling you I was telling the truth.
In fact, some people hit me up. I don't have
any reason to lie. People from her, her crew, her
camp hit me up, said that this is what the
conversation was. She don't like Caitlin Clark, she hates her.
I confirmed that Blase blah, this.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
That and the other.
Speaker 6 (12:29):
To me, if you're doing that, like okay, if you're
doing it to defend her from somebody being ignorant towards
her and exercising bigotry and ignorance, Okay, then do that.
If you're doing it to say I want to clear
my name and I want to clear up what was
talked about and I've talked to such and such and
such and such. If you're going to go down that lane,
(12:50):
then you better provide some receipts. You better provide some
receipts with what it is and then be done with it.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
It was so like, yeah, you can't say that because
the majority of the people's not they're not gonna believe that.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
You can't make that statement.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
Who's going to believe that when every time you speak
on her it seems as if you're not speaking on it,
you're attacking her.
Speaker 6 (13:12):
That's an entry point. You use that as your way
to be able. This is why I'm talking about Angel rees. Oh,
by the way, since we're talking about Angel Reas because
of this, here here's some other things that I want
to get off my chest about the Angel Reas topy.
It's almost like they still in their house. It's still
whatever's going on with him and his family, his wife
has been has been hit by this. He's still dealing
(13:37):
with the effects of it, and he wanted to talk
about it some more. That's what it sounds like to me.
He's getting into his conversations in the house. This is
impacting me this way. Oh babe, I love you, do Doda.
I'm sorry. Let me take the social media and clear
this that's up. How do I do it without coming
across as attacking angel reads? Oh let me throw a
monkey up here, say that racism is crazy. By the way,
(13:59):
I just don't talk about this because she attacked me,
and people are attacking me and my family and sending
death threats our way in on It's like you go out,
you go away from being in a coherent conversation to
just ranting about something else that's bothering you, which made
me believe that that's what he was really wanting to
talk about, not no monkey business, so to speak. Anyway,
(14:22):
we'll see how that all works out. I think that
Cuff had something. Cuffs had something come up. So we're
gonna carry the hour, no worries. We're gonna talk some
some round ball, and we'll continue to have those conversations
as well. But before we get to DeAndre aiden. Uh no, no,
we're gonna we're gonna talk DeAndre eight. Next break. Uh,
We're gonna take a quick break. We'll be back on
the other side of it. This is Up on Game.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
Your LA Lakers are in the headlines again, TJ Hushman
Zada and the latest is a SoundBite from ESPN LA
reporters and it was DeAndre Ayden and he had this
to say about his interaction Wait, I mean, not interaction
with Lebron James just yet. Hey, DeAndre, you have you
(16:42):
spoken to Lebron? Have you spoken to Luca?
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Not really yet, but I've definitely got a text from Luca.
I know how to all season go. You know this
is not my first and Rolio people are probably busy
and you know, training and seven times with their families.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
But I'm just waiting.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
I'm just really just to integrate myself with the team
and get to know everybody.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
Is this something or is this just nothing?
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Are there?
Speaker 8 (17:07):
Is this?
Speaker 6 (17:07):
Should this be made into something? Or how do you
how do you see this? Lebron James not reaching out
or not having contact with the new edition of DeAndre
Ayden at this point, I.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Will say this.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
I felt like, when you're a leader of the team
and somebody signs with your team that should be a
big part of your team, that you believe will be
a big part of your team. You should reach out
to him to say, what's up, man, glad you're on
the team. Can't wait to get this season going. Let's
(17:45):
go get it just whatever it may be. I believe
that's what you should do if you're a leader of
the team. Lebron felt otherwise, and you know it is
what it is. And obviously for DeAndre aid and to
bring that up, I think it slightly bothered them and Lebron.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
May not care.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
It's not a big deal. Everybody leads differently, you know,
when they do me. Lebron is probably like, man, it's
the off season. Man, When I see you at training, cap,
I see you. If I see you in the city,
I see you. We'll talk in person.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
I don't And again, I don't know if this is
how Lebron does things, if he not texting guys like that,
I'll see you when I see you.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
But me personally, I was a leader on every team
that I was a part of, even before I was playing.
You don't determine who your leaders are. The locker room
determines the leaders, and for whatever reason, I was one
of those guys. I don't know why you'd have to
ask the locker room, but I would have liked Lebron
(18:52):
just sind him a text because if DeAndre Ayton brings
that up, especially because Luca sent him a message, that
bothers them. And yes, him and Luca have the same representation,
so I'm sure you know they were like, hey, make
sure you reach out to him, or they already have
a relationship because they were in the same draft class.
I don't know how tight they are, but me being
(19:16):
a leader of the teams that I was on, I
would have reached out to him.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Again. Again.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Lebron James's leadership may be different or it is what
it is. I don't I don't, I don't know, but
I would have liked for him to reach out for sure.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
I think this is DeAndre Aiden being collateral damage in
a situation, a damaged situation.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
I think.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
I think whatever's going on, it's clearly showing a minimizing
of Lebron James as an LA Laker, and I think
that goes back to the departure of Anthony Davis. That's
what I believe. And as this minimizing conte use on,
there's the in my estimation, a clearer picture that Lebron
(20:06):
James will not be a Laker. It's a slim to
none chance that Lebron James is a Laker next year.
I believe if he's going to be a part of
this team, even in an act of solidarity, an act
of just keeping people off their toes or excuse me,
keeping them on their toes, you do everything the right way,
(20:30):
you check off all the boxes. I believe Lebron James
is at this point he understands what he does. He's
a season that he is a successful businessman. He knows
some of the most powerful people in the world. He
understands how to play the game, and so to me
to not reach out to DeAndre Ayden is either it
(20:51):
is a direct shot at a former number one overall
draft pick that he had very little to nothing to
do with him coming to the Lakers, which further shows
that they're moving away, possibly from what what Lebron has
represented to this organization, or he's just trying to flex.
(21:12):
It's a flex like I'm still Lebron James, like you
are a former number one. I get that, but you
know you're coming to my team. This is my this
is my deal, this is my operation, and I'll talk
to you when I get to you. I'll get to
you when I feel like it, and I want everybody
in an organization to know that that's what I'm gonna
do as well. I don't know if it's an internal
(21:32):
power struggle for him to stay more so than it
feeling like more and more with the things that are
taking place tj that this is clearly uh a a.
These are decisions that are being made without him and
with the idea that he's not going to be a part.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Of this team.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
That's my take on it.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
I don't know though, man like.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Number one, lebron salary is just under fifty three million.
I believe it's fifty two point seven million. I don't
know how many teams are taking on that contract that's number.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
One, because her conversations with Dallas have been heating up.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I don't know if we can get.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
That, but hey, hey, if we can get Cooper Flag,
hey let's go. Because Lebron opted into his contract, he
could no Cooper Flag form, no Lebron j then it
ain't happening. Then it ain't happening. Lebron opted into his contract.
Lebron could have opted out and chose to be a
(22:35):
free agent and go wherever.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
He wanted to go. But he could have done that.
Speaker 6 (22:39):
Value though wait wait, wait, wait, value that he's carrying?
Speaker 4 (22:42):
What value when I say fifty million? So you don't
think he would have been able to get fifty two millions?
Speaker 6 (22:48):
So well, he doesn't have to worry about it now.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
So if I'm the Lakers that, if I'm the Lakers,
I look at it from this perspective. You opted in
because you wanted the fifty two million. I'm not training
you because you wont to be traded. You could opt
it out.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
And been gone.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Now, if I can get something in return that's beneficial
for us, then I'll for sure do it. But if
if it isn't beneficial to the la because we've traded
all our draft picks because of Lebron, we've gated, we've
given away every.
Speaker 6 (23:16):
They were forced into that contract based off of where
they were currently at when they did that contract.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Well, no, no, no, no, no, I'll say this, bro, Honestly,
every dime Lebron has made, he's earned it. Lebron really
should be making one hundred million a year. The fifty
two he making this year is less than the value
he's bringing and he's brought to the Lakers. Let me
say that, Okay, Lebron has they just sold for ten billion? Yep,
(23:44):
Lebron paid a part in that. He didn't get a
part of that ten million that they were sold for.
Lebron really is worth a hundred million a year, maybe more.
He's really worth that. You got dudes making seventy million
a year if they named Lebron James like what and
so I'm not just.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
A guy like this?
Speaker 6 (24:02):
Look can you can you see it?
Speaker 3 (24:03):
From this angle.
Speaker 6 (24:05):
Maybe Lebron James understands the idea of what the handwriting
on the wall is. Yeah. Yeah, And so I'm gonna
take this. I'm gonna take this, this option because I
know y'all don't want me anyway. So at least that
just it establishes my floor for what it is that
I'm going to receive. Y'all don't want me anyway.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Who the Lakers do want them? Now? Yes, yes, the Lakers.
The Lakers.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
The Lakers are not compared to the Lakers are playing
team without Lebron at best, a playing team without Lebron
at best. Think about this, leave if you just brought
up the Dallas Mavericks, there's no way you say, Cooper
Flag isn't on the table. There's no way you can
have a team of Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis,
(24:52):
Cooper Flag.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
What on one team?
Speaker 6 (24:58):
Like that's possible.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
That's no, that's impossible because now you're stunned Cooper Flag's growth,
his growth will be his growth will be stunning. Yeah,
we know Kyrie is not going to start the season healthy.
His stunt will be I mean, his growth will be stunted.
Speaker 6 (25:12):
All them dudes is over to hell. I don't think
that that would stun.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
His Anthony Davis was not over to hell. Anthony Davis
is not over.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
I feel like his health team.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
Nowhere near over the hill.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
When Kyrie come back, I'm assume the way technology is
and the way these guys were, Kyrie gonna be fine.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Lebron not over there. You can't tell me somebody that's average.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
Many more years expect lebron Is to play? Okay, start
with Lebron.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
I expect Lebron to play two more seasons. Okay, I
expect Anthony Davis to play at least five more seasons.
I expect Kyrie Irving to play at least seven more seasons.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
That's not over, but not.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
Yes, that is. And the reason why I'm gonna say
it's over to hell is because these guys be young
as hell when they come into the league for one
thirty two years, Like, yeah, you can play unto till
you're into your forties and stuff like that playing basketball.
But if you're telling me that to me, over the
hill means your best games are behind you and and
you're on your way out. If you're saying to me
(26:16):
two more years, three more years, five more years, Lebron.
Speaker 4 (26:20):
That's Lebron averaged twenty five Bro, Nobody, you can't tell
me somebody that's averages twenty five points is over the hill.
Speaker 6 (26:28):
He's still an elite. He still plays out an elite level.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Know he's over the hill. Why you can't say elite
in over the hill in the same sense, Yes you.
Speaker 6 (26:36):
Can, you're elite, and this can still he's so elite.
His over the hill can still be elite. It's a
little it's just like what he.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
His age is making people say, oh, he may be
over the hill.
Speaker 6 (26:50):
He don't play the same way. His game isn't the
same game that it was when he was in his prime.
He is no Lebron James.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Of course, it is Kyrie irving, but he's still effective.
He's still effective. He's still effective. Kyrie may be better
than he's ever been.
Speaker 6 (27:07):
I don't I don't know.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
We don't know how he's.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
Gonna come off and at I don't think where they're
at TJ. That stunts Flag's growth if all.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Those guys are the same team.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
In my opinion, it stunts his growth because now if
you're trying, if you're trying to let Cooper Flag develop
and be what you believe he can be. You're gonna
have to have the ball in his hands. You're gonna
have to let him fail at times. Are you going
to do that to the detriment of the team and
Lebron and Kyrie and Anthony Davis feeling they can win
(27:38):
a championship.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
No, you're not. I'll be honest.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
If I felt like I could win a championship, I
would trade Cooper Flag if it's going to mean a
championship because you think you may win one with Cooper Flag.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
You don't know.
Speaker 6 (27:51):
But the potential of what you can earn with Cooper Flag,
even if you don't win a championship, to me, you.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Would not do that.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
The potential, you know what you're gonna arn with Lebron.
It's proven every team Lebron is gone to, he's elevated
him not only on the court, but the value of
the franchise. Look at the Cleveland Caves, Look what he did.
Look what he did with the Miami Heat, Look what
he did with the Lakers. Like that's right there, that's evidence.
(28:20):
Three teams elevated all of them on the.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Corter and off the court.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
A younger Lebron and a Lebron that was in the
latter stage, well not the latter stage of his prime
in LA but certainly getting ready.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:34):
Yeah, I would say latter day of his prime. Yeah,
because he's not in his prime anymore. It's not a
prime Lebron James. It's not it's an old way.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
We all know that it's not a prime Lebron James.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
But this still is a great Lebron James when you
average twenty five points. Yes, and if you really look
at it, Lebron was a top ten player last season.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Bro, he's a top ten player.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
But is that an indictment on the league?
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Or is that that's what I say you want to Lebron.
That's a moving, that's a moving on the gold post.
That's a disrespect to Lebron James. I'm just ask oh,
because now because I'm top ten, it's an indictment on
the league.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
No, Lebron, is it still that good? No, he's just
that good in the NBA.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
Is that good where Lebron James at his age can
be a top ten player?
Speaker 4 (29:24):
Lebron is that great to wear At the age of forty,
I was a top ten player in the league. That's
a credit to him. You can't discredit that, man. Oh,
because he's older, he's quote unquote over the hill. Oh,
these that's his play.
Speaker 6 (29:45):
That's his dedication to the gold ass Michael Jordan and Washington.
I was there, We were there. We came in the
same exact time. I sat courtside and watched him play
all every game. I was there, and he was great.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Rate.
Speaker 6 (30:01):
Michael Jordan, Washington Wizard, was a dope ass basketball player
for the Washington Wizards. He was nowhere near the player
he was in Chicago that he was in Washington. Now, however,
anybody wants to take that, they could take it. However,
however you want to take it, DJ, you could take it.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
He was very good.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
He was very good in Washington. He wasn't great. Bro,
Let's be honest. He was good, very good. He wasn't
great when he played for the Washington Wizards. Bro, Come on,
I know, man, he was the best player. Was who
was the best player on the team? Him or Jerry Stackhouse.
Keep it a buck.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
Mj was the best player on the team. Bro. He
was still the best player on the team, and he
was still a top player in the league. One hundred percent,
like not even up for debate. Like Stack was good.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
And Michael Jordan is the greatest player to ever play
the game in my eyes, let me say that, But
he wasn't a top ten player when he was with
the Wizards.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
I think the pool of players and the talent level
that you speak of is different than the pool of
players and the talent in today's.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Leg Oh it's not the players.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
The players of today and every sport are better than
they were back then. I think they because they're they're
I think they're The mentality may not be better. That's
toughness difference. The toughness may not be there, But as
far as the skill of it, these players are better.
Like the receivers are better now than when we came in.
Speaker 6 (31:33):
Yeah, but they're not better. It's not that they're necessarily better.
I just feel like I understand where you're coming from,
but I just don't. I don't see them as being better. Like, yes,
better technology, James.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
Everybody wants to move the goal posts fair and make
and make excuses. Though he over there, he not over
Somebody averaged twenty five. Let me be over the hill
and I'm averaging twenty five. Let me be over the
hill and I'm a top ten player in the league
full of young guys.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Let that be meet in. I take that.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Lebron gonna give you a minimum this year twenty three
to twenty five. Again, he gonna average seven and nine
and sist he gonna get you seven and nine rebounds.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
So he gonna get you twenty three, seven and seven
at worst. I don't know that.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
That's an all start every single year. And we're talking
about it. Man, that's going on year twenty two and
he gonna get you that. Come on, man, that's unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (32:32):
I don't know, man, We'll see how it all plays out.
But what I do know is Isaac Lowenkron he delivers
updates like nobody else's business. So let's get one of those.
What you got out love?
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (32:42):
Basketball legend Michael Jordan has just issued a statement responding
to recent criticism made by legendary football player Michael LeVar
Arrington about Michael jar I didn't criticize him.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
That, I didn't criticize it. Don't put that on mean.
I'd say were great.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
He was.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
He just won the top ten player. That's a fact.
Speaker 8 (33:05):
It wasn't about uh, It wasn't about what TJ said.
It was what LeVar said about Michael's time with Oh no,
you're right, I read the AP Newsler wrong. It was
a response to TJ's criticism about his time with the
Washington Wizards.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Oh so that's how you're gonna play it.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
You're gonna do this, Okay.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
That's all I needed. That's all I needed for him
to do that, And it became personal with me.
Speaker 8 (33:30):
Ah crazy, Michael Jordan, big fan.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
Up on games. Yeahs, dude, I mean you know we are.
Speaker 8 (33:42):
We are some guys you just don't criticize. I'm just saying,
can't say anything critical about the playoff Scottie Scheffler in
round three of the Open Championship. He continues to widen.
His lady has now got a three shot advantage at
thirteen under par overall. Today he has three under it
through thirteen whole. Leehu Toong of China is three shots
(34:02):
back at ten under. Then you've got Englishman Terrell Hadden
and Matt Fitzpatrick four shots back at nine under par overall.
But the big story of the day the incredible charge
made by Rory McElroy. It continued here on the fifteenth hole.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
His fidgets with the top of his potter this to
go to eight. Well, they'll tell you he's charging in
this round today. Rory McElroy five under on Moving Day,
he has moved and then some.
Speaker 8 (34:37):
So McElroy five hundred through seventeen holds today five shots
off the lead, as well as Americans Chris Gotterrup and
Harris English. Finally LeVar and TJ.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
How about this?
Speaker 8 (34:47):
Today is the one hundred and third birthday of Rachel Robinson,
the wife of the late great Jackie Robinson and the
founder of the Jackie Robinson Foundation. An extraordinary woman who
has done so much to continue Jackie Robinson's legacy. So
happy one hundred and third birthday, Rachel Robinson.
Speaker 6 (35:11):
How about that? Back to you guys, e's me birthday.
All right, let's get a quick break and we'll wrap
up the show. On the other side of this break back,
Bradley Bill, he's on the move.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
He's got some new digs.
Speaker 6 (35:20):
I'm curious to hear what TJ has to say about
that is up on Game is Fox Sports Radio. We
shall return in a matter of moments. All right, welcome

it will always pop up at the top of your screen.
Before we get up out of here, we had some
movers and some shakers take place. Bradley Bill ends up
with the La Clippers, Dame Lillard ends up back with
the Portland Trailblazers. Before we get up out of here,
(36:25):
what were your feelings on on those acquisitions transactions that
took place in the NBA TJ.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
Let's let's start with the latter, Damian Lillard going back
where he started his career. It's great for him, man,
his family is there, and it's kind of crazy how
things ends up working its way out the way. The
Bucks ditting surprised, everybody surprised.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
Every like they gonna stretch him.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
You just don't see that in the NBA, not of
a player of his caliber coming off that type of injury,
and so I'm eager to see how that looks and him,
Schoot Henderson, Drew Holliday. Do they all stay on the
same team, Do they move gout? I don't know, but
I think for him going back home to be where
his family is, that's a great thing.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
I don't believe they're much of a title contenders.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
Until he gets back on the court. I think I
believe he'll miss the entire next season and then he'll
be ready to go. But even still, they're not contending
for a title. Bradley Bill going to the Clippers, it
was surprising, like if you look at it, he wasn't
able to be himself in Phoenix because he wasn't able
(37:44):
to take as many shots and have a ball in
his hands as much as he did when he was
at Washington.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
And then you go to the Clippers and you're gonna
be in the same situation. James harn't gonna have a ball,
Kawhi gonna have a ball.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
You're gonna be in the same situation duation that you
were in in Phoenix, and so I don't know what
he's thinking. I don't know if he wanted to play
in LA. If he wanted to play in LA, I
probably would have come to the Lakers. Like I don't
understand these dudes that come play in LA and you're
not even playing for the real team, Like you gonna
(38:22):
if you're gonna come, if I want to be an
I'm playing for the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
I'm playing for the Lakers, and the Lakers wanted them.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
He chose not to, But I believe the best fit
would have been the Golden State Warriors. Ton of ball
movement he had knockdown shooter, you're gonna Golden State has.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
A type offense touched the ball that much with them either.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
The Golden State Warriors, to me, is more of a
if you're open, you're gonna shoot the ball. We player movement.
Nobody that The Warriors don't really go a ton of isolation.
They running pigs, guys are moving. That's how Curry. They
very rarely do they isolate. Clippers James Harden get the ball,
he going to work. So like Kawhi Leonard, get the ball,
(39:04):
he going to work. That's the same thing that he
had in Phoenix with KD and books, So I don't
like that on the court. Now they lose Norman Palce,
so they do need that scoring punch. But I just
don't know how that's going to work. Probably Tyler is
a great coach. He'll figure out a way to make
sure Bradley Bill is comfortable. Bradley Bil is a baller.
(39:27):
I wish we had all the Lakers. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
Okay, I was curious because my next question to you
is going to be I know we're about to wrap up,
but like, how do you feel about Bradley Bil Do
you believe he's still the type of player like for
me when I saw him when he first came in
to Washington, He's a straight killer, straight beast on the court.
You know, things didn't, you know, kind of shake out
the way it could have exactly shook out for him.
(39:52):
But I mean, nonetheless, he has had a crazy productive career.
I mean, do you see him as being a game
changer or just a cog apiece to a major puzzle.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
I don't know if he can be a game changer
at this point.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
Now, if you're gonna put the ball in his hands
and let him get his shots off like he did
in Washington. He can be a game changer, would you agree? Yeah,
I don't know if that's possible. And now, how is
he mentally coming off what happened? If Phinnix like mentally,
do you you still have that confidence because I think
you were relegated to that.
Speaker 6 (40:27):
I think he's a strong dude, and I think that
he gets through tough, tough situations because he's been called
to get through tough situations. So we'll see how it
all plays out. Man, you crushed it today, bro. Enjoy
the day. Everybody else out there enjoyed the day. Make
sure you stay locked in. Jonas Knox with the JKS
Show is coming immediately after us. Hope you enjoy. This
(40:47):
is up on game. That's t J. Hitchman Zaida. I'm
Leavar Arrington. This is Fox Sports RADI
