Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Fox Sports Countdown. Yeah, we're breaking down the
sports weekend here and looking ahead at your sports week.
You're listening to Fox Sports Countdown, brought to you by
the Sports Book Born in Vegas. The Countdown starts now

(00:24):
no Live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Here's Brian No, Jeff Schwartz and Bail crack Krackenberger.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Oh what is going on? Happy Sunday to you as
we get you all set for sports festivities today. Good
morning Jeff, Good morning Crack. I see we got a
special guest morning on the show with us today, right,
Oh is that correct? Here got a Yeah, we got

(00:53):
a cameo appearance here, Louie checking out the show. Very nice. Yeah,
love that cracks dog Louie. He's around uh. Oreo the
neighborhood cat. She dropped by super early today, like around
five am. I don't remember what time it was, and
she brought a lizard, you know, like a dead like
tiny little gecko like gift. Yeah, trying to feed us

(01:16):
over heres what Oreo was taking care of us? So
very nice.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Don't need to bring my dog, don't need to bring
don't need to bring I mean the probably is if
I look in his direction. He's gonna just like jump
on me.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
I'm in the background a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Yeah, he's right here, he's yeah, he's no one else's
homes on. The doors opened in my office, so I'm
allowing him to just roam the house.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
So where is the family down at the beach.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Yeah, they're probably close to you. No, my wife is
close to you right now. I believe you're still out
of town. And my kids are at camp still crack.
They've been at camp since July seventh, and today's the
first day where I'm like, it's it's tough today, it's
been two weeks and like my no one else is
here with me, just me the dog, and you know,

(02:00):
it's like okay, I'm I'm ready, you know, Yeah, I'm
ready for them come home.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
Let me let me tell you. I it's no other
way to say this. It was one hundred and fourteen
degrees in Vegas when I left. Coming over here to
the Carolinas, it's much worse. It was ninety five. Yeah,
but the humidity it was so bad. I don't care

(02:27):
who says what. It's much worse on the East Coast,
especially southeast, when it's humid and boy, I am jumping
on a plane back to Vegas today, and I'm pretty
happy to do it, to be honest with it's really
hot in you. But I don't know how you guys
do it.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Yeah, I mean you do it because you don't have
a choice. Like when I get up in the morning
and go walk a dog, I don't have a choice
about whether or not it's a thousand degrees outside. So
that's that's I can sort of sort of it crack.
You just do. You just do because there's no other
there's no other options in Northeast. Yeah, yeah, there's no other.
So I just one of my.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Best friends in the world. You know, I've been around
a lot of guys in my life. I've been around
a lot of money guys people. But the biggest money
guy who doesn't have more money than five people I know,
but has a lot of money. It lives in Cherry
Grove And yeah he has a house, Yes, he has
a house there. He's got a beautiful house on the water.

(03:23):
And he is born and raised in Dorham and but
this is his summerhouse here. And he's just one of
the greatest guys ever. He has no value of money
like me, idiots spending money. We have no good way.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
You're in Cherry Grove right now.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
No, I'm not my mother in law and house, which
is about twenty minutes north of Cherry I'm sorry, south
of Cherry Grove. Okay, I spend all my time in
Cherry Grove.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
I don't want to get into into the discussion about
about you know where we live in parts of the country, Brian,
but I know that I'm in. My place is in
north Cherry Grove, very close to. We have to get
together sometime when you're back on the beach. We won't
go outside that we'll stay inside.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
I used to come here for the biggest, the biggest.
People don't know this and you're going to be fine.
This as a surprise. There right there on seventeen, there's
a waffle house, there's a there's a swing bridge like
in that kind of area. There they had the biggest
golf Calcutta in the world. That's right, in the world,
one point three million the last one I was at. Wow,

(04:29):
And it's just it's the who's who of the southern
golf and people. I shouldn't say Southern people come from
out of the country England. They come from Texas, California.
It was the biggest summer shootout golf tournament. If you
ask anyone and to know they know about this golf
tournament that was down here and it was just listen,
it's hard to believe. But over here, I don't know

(04:53):
if you want to call a Bible belt, but South
Carolina there is giant gamblers, big money, big gambler old
you know, old school money too. Is this old money
that was made in tobacco fields and different kind of
uh you know, blue collar companies people own they're giant gamblers,

(05:13):
giant so and like that says a lot for me.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
So legal sports wager and is not available in South Carolina?
So can we can we work on that place.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
But however, where Cherry Grove was, I went right across
the border in North Carolina. We can't the name of
that town. There's a big seafood town. It is very good. Cabash,
Oh boy, Calabash. We went to Beck's and Calabash, my
friend knows the owners. He snuck right in the back
door and he put us in there. But Calibash was
I've been there a couple of.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Times, so the first time my wife has really understood
that I gambled. When we go to the beach and
I'm like, I'm going to the grocery store, She yells
to her cousin. He's actually going to gamble in North Carolina.
So SE's I told her that I need to like, hey, honey,
I'll be back in an hour. I need to go
across the border. And what I'm what I would make today,
Brian for wagers is and I have is the top

(06:01):
of the leaderboard. All these guys I have bet under
their round score today because guess what we were promised
bad weather at the Open everyone and it's not happening.
And these scores are going low yesterday, they're going low today.
The top golfers man are shooting. Scheffler might win this.
It's seventeen under right now. If you look at like
the best golfers in the world, they are Matvericmery, five

(06:24):
under Lowry, five under Fleetwood, four under Bryce and fournder
A Deci four under today, Phil's four under today, finished
for today. All these guys are going shooting so well today.
Say again, what did you bet? Jeff so I basically
took I took McElroy, got her up. Hatton English shoffy
to go under their round score. So a lot of

(06:46):
them I got it like under sixty nine and a half.
So I need them to go two under to cash.
These guys are going under. They did the courses all right.
You're watching it now, I'm watching. It's a beautiful there's
no wind, there's no rain, it's seventy degrees and everyone's
having a great day. It's not gonna change.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Jeff, you bet them, you bet them knowing the weather
was going to be no.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
I woke up this morning, it's on. I'm like, oh,
the weather looks great. I just did it in the
last twenty five minutes. Because like a lot of it
comes down to this course, right, these Lynks courses overseas,
a lot of it comes down to weather.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Right.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
We were told this week it was a bad weather week. Right, Brian,
I'm sure you heard the same thing. Bad weather, bad weather,
bad weather, And all we've gone is outside of Thursday,
great weather. Scheffler's fourteen under. I mean, these guys are
way under in this tournament because it's just set up
for The conditions are fantastic right now. So I'm betting
on a lot of guys have a great day today, wonderful.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Yeah, Yeah, that's where I was going. Was the guy
at the top of the leaderboard, Scottie Scheffler, four shot lead,
and I don't I don't see how someone runs him down.
And I was thinking about this before the tournament even began.
He even he basically came out and told you the
secret sauce like, he's an incredibly talented golfer, but it's

(08:06):
more than just talent. The tour has a ton of
talented guys, right like, why does Scotti Scheffler excel at
a level that nobody else does right now? And what
he explained, he was talking about how winning isn't really
fulfilling for his life, right Like, this was his sound
bite from Tuesday, But it explains to a large degree

(08:27):
in my mind at least, why he's so successful. Check
this out. He's Scotty Scheffler.

Speaker 6 (08:31):
This is not a fulfilling life. It's it's fulfilling from
the sense of accomplishment, but it's not fulfilling from a
sense of like the deepest, you know.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
Places of your heart.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
You know, there's a lot of people that make it
to what they thought was going to fulfill them in
life and then you get there and all of a
sudden you get to number one in the world, and
then they're like, what's the point. You know, that's why
I talk about families being my priority, because it really is.
You know, I'm blessed to be able to come out
here and play golf.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
But if my.

Speaker 6 (08:56):
Golf ever started affecting my home life, or itever affected
the relationship with my wife or with my son, you know,
that's gonna be the last day that I play out
here for a living.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
I thought that was really interesting, man, because if you
think about it, what does that help explain? It helps
explain how Scottie Scheffler stays loose on the golf course.
That's a big deal where he's not pressing to a
fault and that's getting in his way because he wants
it so desperately, right, Like, it reminded me of so

(09:27):
many things in the sports world. The first thing is,
we'll keep it with golf. This goes back to the
Masters this year. So it was Justin Rose's twenty first
time in the Masters tournament and he finished runner up
before and he had a chance, he had a lead.
I forget which day going into Day three or Day
four something like that. But he was talking with Scott

(09:50):
Van Pelt about, you know, not pressing to a fault.
Here's what Justin Rose had to say.

Speaker 7 (09:56):
At this point in my career, I'm working hard to
have these opportunities, and I think it's really important the
one I have them and done strangling.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Right, Think about that. You think Scotty Scheffler is strangling
anything so he's pressing. No, he's loose out there. He's
not looking for major wins to fulfill his life. He
gets that fulfillment somewhere else, so he can compete and
be loose at the same time.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
Come on, this is easy to say when you have
two hundred million in the bank. Come on, Scotty, give
it a break. I'm sorry, I don't buy it. I
don't buy it. It's easy to say it when you
have all this money and everything's great. You could say
it now. But if you're hungry, and if you're a
young golfer and oh yeah, you put all those other
things for not saying that family is not first. But

(10:37):
you know, this guy made sixty three million last year
just from the tour. I mean, but I'm not saying Listen,
I think his secret weapon. He's just much better than
everyone else. I mean, the last two years he's become
one of the best putters on the tour. Has shown
this week he's dominated the greens. Just look at his
improvement year to year. Twenty twenty three, he ranked one
hundred and sixty two and putting strokes gain. Last year

(11:01):
he moved up to seventy seven. This year he's twenty two.
That's bad news for the rest of the field. He
was one of the best off the tea with us irons.
I mean, but you know saying this stuff. Oh yeah,
I might have this first, but listen, it's easy to say, I'll.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Give you more examples. If you're not convinced, I give
you more examples. Because this is absolutely what it is,
no doubt about it, no it is.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
This is exactly how it's why he succeeds. But the reason,
the way it shows on the golf course, in my opinion,
is it's something we talk about when it comes to
football a lot where teams don't beat themselves. Scheffler makes
the right shot every time, like you're not gonna catch
him today because he's not. He's not gonna make it.
He's not gonna make a mistake that he never makes mistakes.

(11:46):
Tiger was fun because he went for it. He took
shots that no one else could make. He was aggressive,
you know when you watch it for play, the comers like, well,
that's the right word. The ball has to be and
it might not be points, it might not be going
for the might be on this whole par is just
the best option, right, Like I could go for the birdie,
but I might miss, but I'm up three, I'll take

(12:07):
a par. And that's the way he plays. Tiger didn't
play that way. It's why someone's fun to watch Tiger play.
He went for it almost all the time. He's better
anyone else you do it. Scheffler's best quality is just
making the shots that are there and available, and of
course it's putting is much better and part of making
the shots that are available, or he doesn't get in
bad spots. You rarely see him. It's so odd he

(12:27):
played bad at like the Masters, he was six under
because he had a couple shots in the rough. Like
in this tournament. He is making no mistakes, making zero mistakes,
and you have to think like you have to go
from look, it's quit simply Scheffler's not shooting under over
par today, so worlse he's finishing fourteen under. Someone's got

(12:47):
to shoot four or five under, I should say, And
hope Scheffler has like the worst round of the weekend.
It's just not gonna happen. It's why he's a minus
seven hundred favorite. So it's to me, that's what I
see is just the the billy to just take what's there.
He's not stressed, he's not pressing it, and you're right,
crack looks. Does you have a lot of money? Is
easy to say this week when you have a lot

(13:07):
of money, Absolutely it is. But it does show in
his play that he does play that way and he
always has played that way.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Well. This is like one of the most famous sayings
in golf from Bobby Jones, which is in golf, the
most important distance is the five inches between the ears right.
It's such a mental game, and Scotty Scheffler has got
it now, whether you want to attribute to sixty million
dollars or what have you, he has the right mindset

(13:34):
to not be pressing to a fault. And you see
this time and time we just had Wyndham Clark. He
wrecked the US Open locker room because he was ticked off. Like,
you've got some of these golfers. They're ready to throw
their clubs around a tree half the time, right, and
you're not gonna win that way. And if you need
more examples this, two things came to mind. I'll give

(13:55):
you one audio clip and one other story. This is
from two different sports, but I think things translate here.
Madison Keys my girl who took me to the Promised
Land when I was betting on her in the Australian Open.
But she won the Australian Open this year. It was
the first time she won a Grand Slam in her career.
So this girl she turned pro at the age of fourteen.

(14:18):
It took her nearly sixteen years and she finally won
a Grand Slam. And she said before the Aussie Open,
she said before the final, she talked about how her
mindset changed, and her quote was amazing to me. She said,
there have been periods of my career where it felt
like if I didn't win a Grand Slam, then I
hadn't done enough and I didn't live up to my potential.

(14:39):
That took a lot of the fun out of the game.
And there were times where it felt paralyzing out on
the court because it felt as if I needed it
to happen. And so just shifting that perspective it changed
everything for her. It was never like this, I gotta
win or my career is unfulfilled. She just she'd let
all that go and the g one big and like,

(15:03):
the perspective and the approach matters a ton, especially in golf,
And like, I'll give you one more. Sorry to be
so wordy here, but this was Russell Wilson when he
was still with the Seahawks and he was still good, right,
and they won the NFC title game. They're going to
the Super Bowl for the first time, that whole era,
legion of boom, that deal. And he was on stage

(15:24):
with Terry Bradshaw, and so he asked for advice from
Terry Bradshaw. Listen what Terry says here and how it
translates to golf in many other sports.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Here you go, Well, when I'm up on stage, I
didn't know he's gonna be on stage necessarily, but as
soon as I got on stage, as soon as I saw,
I was like, gotta ask Herry Bryshaw. You know, I
got a question for you, But what we need to
do to win it a different What do you need
to do to win it?

Speaker 4 (15:47):
What makes you win it? Don't you know what?

Speaker 5 (15:49):
You gotta be really cool, don't let the moment catch
up with you.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
You gotta play the game down.

Speaker 7 (15:55):
If you build it up it's so important, you'll screw
it up and you won't play well.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
That's it right there. It's Scotty saying, I got I
gotta win the Open champions I have to win. He's like, no,
it's not going to fulfill me at all. He's loosey
goosey out there.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
Man.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
That's a huge advantage that he has over many of
the other golfers who are just pressing to a fault.
I'm telling you it's a big deal.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
It is. It is, and it comes with wisdom of
having played a lot, right, Like it's easy to say
when you after you win your fourteenth year, like, hey,
I just decided it didn't matter as much anymore. Well,
the first seven years it probably mattered a lot. I mean,
it depends where you are in your career. And it
is easier for Shuffler to say that than other people.
Can we Crack is right about that. It's just it

(16:38):
is easier because he's he's a winner, Like it's as
easier to make to make those statements when when you win.
But that's the way he plays though, So I believe
it when he says it because that's what I see
him do on the golf course.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
He's got the cash, foie, I don't know, you're you're
hung You're hung up on the path instead of the
end result. You know, like Madison by the way break
she didn't have the cash.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
No, I know she and I'm being kind of funny,
but I do know. Uh, let me just say you.
That was a great response by Bradshaw. They're very spontaneous.
He didn't know he was going to be asked that.
I love. I actually love his response. You know, play
it down, don't Yeah, don't let the moment get you.
I really like that response. So yeah, anyway, yeah, no,

(17:29):
I'd still say fooey about Shuffler, Well he has all
the cash, be a break.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Tremendous advice after him.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Yeah, you have to lay six to one at bet
MGM right now, you know, And like Jeff said this
other spots, there's one spot you have to lay eight fifty.
Laying eight fifty I am not laying that much.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Well, so here's what you do, crack here's what you
do crack on. So what do you do? The Dodgers
have lost to in a row, the Twins have lost
too in a row in Colorado? Are both teams getting swept?
I don't know. But you put Shuffler with both money lines,
and you know that's how you could play if you
want to play it, if you want to play Jefford Night.
It's interesting. I saw some people who are in this

(18:07):
space say they didn't like Scheffler before the week because
the number wasn't good enough. I think that's a load
of croc. Like, if you think he's gonna win, take
the number. I don't know what you want. So I
got him at plus one fifty in the middle of
round two. I'm fine with it, Like, sign me up
for that. I'm gonna win. Like it's better than minus
seven hundred. It was like minus four fifty four holes
after I took it, And so I don't I don't

(18:29):
really get some times I've had a good This is
a for as bad as some golf tournaments have been,
the Open has been pretty pleasant to me. I keep
betting these guys go under their their their scores. So
yesterday I'm doing it today some.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
NBA summer league. Where's this summer league?

Speaker 4 (18:44):
We got like six games today, So let me know
that Hawks wager. By the way, I had Hawks, Yeah,
fifty to one. They went four and oh and didn't
make the playoffs. Point differential, Yeah, point differential got him,
so I could and I couldn't head. So there's no
heading up, ortuny, because how do you hedge? How do
you hedge on that day? So I just lost my
wager on the Hawks four to oh and didn't make

(19:07):
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (19:07):

(20:54):
we had boxing, We had UFC. Crack was checking out everything.
Cracks the Paqia fight right after a four year layoff,
four year layoff. It was a majority draw for Paqiao
against Mario Barrios. And then on the UFC side, Dustin Poorier.
He ended his UFC career with the loss lost to

(21:16):
Max Holloway, but fought hard, you know, legitimate. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
this was I.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
Had Holloway winning, but yeah, he yeah. But I watched both.
I didn't go to bed till like three thirty, to
be honest.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
With you, there you go.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Party was just it's hard to sleep, you know. I
don't know if you guys ever know, it's hard to
sleep with or somewhere else beside your house besides your
normal you know setting. But so I watched both. I
watched I watched both fights, and uh, listen the odds
on the on the the boxing fight. Pacquiao coming back
after all these years. He was about about plus two

(21:54):
twenty plus two thirty At one time and then in Vegas,
I noticed there was a lot of late bets that
came in on him and knocked it down to like literally,
Burios was minus two thirty at one of the sportsbooks,
two thirty five, and I would have I would have bet,
you know, I am here to make money, so I
would have bet against. But I'll tell you what, even

(22:15):
though I would have bet Burrios, I'll tell you right now,
I would have thought maybe I lost. I actually it
could have went seven to five either way. The majority
draw was a I think was a good decision by
the way. I've seen plus twenty to one throughout the
week somewhere and just to think about that, Wow, you
have a here, you have a you know, two and
a half to one favorite twenty to one. It was

(22:37):
mostly fifteen to ones, but I did see a twenty
to one on the draw. Boy, you know, it's always
easy to say after the fact, but it just you know,
I watched both of them, and I can't believe how
good Pacchio came out. He was amazing. This is almost
four years off, sixteen years older than you know, a

(22:58):
great fighter. And Mario Barrios, I didn't expect him to
come out that that good. He's got back in shape,
really good. And you know, I unfortunately from the insiders
that I know in the business, he was doing this
for the money. Now I'm saying to myself, Wow, let's
go back to the money again. Enough making fun of Scheffler,

(23:18):
and really wasn't making fun of him. But Pacquiao made
five hundred and twenty five million dollars in his career,
give or take. And it just that this guy gives
all his money away. He is a saint. He should
be saint Manny. He does so much for his country,
so much for his friends and family, buys people's houses,

(23:41):
buy houses for them, helps the poor. What a great person.
I love Manny Pacquiao, but there's a couple of things
I know about him too. You know, Hey, he's like
he's like most of us. He likes to gamble. So
early in his career. I know for a fact that
he was in some gambling debts. You know, he'll admit,
he'll talk about it. He loved to gamble when he

(24:02):
was early in his career, and he owed out someone
over by the way over there in the Philippines. People
don't know that, but he has talked about it a
few times, and yeah, he owed, and he might have
even owed the wrong people money so he had to
pay so But yeah, Manny is a great person. He's
such a role model for his country, and he's a

(24:24):
role model for the world, not just the country. Great guy.
I really like him a lot, and I was really
happy he did so well and he made himself seventeen
million bucks last night. Give a take. Also the other
guy the channel, well, I should say the challenger. Really,
I think Manny was the challenger. But Barrio is going
to make all over a little over a million bucks,

(24:45):
big payday for him. But that the draw was Manny.
You could see the place was going crazy when he
was walking in, all Pacchio fans there. It was really
fun to watch. And you know, when I after the
fight was over, I was so happy that he's going
to come back and get the fight another fight, probably
for the same money with him, and I just hope

(25:05):
he saves his money this time. I hope he has
some money for his wife and his own family. You know, listen,
no one's no one's putting a collection bucket out there
for Pacchia after making fine with her million. Trust me,
But I looked at the I text Brian late last night.
I was like, you know, not for nothing, but here
you have Dustin Poorier, one of the top ten all

(25:29):
time UFC career fighters. Everyone loves him, and you look
what his net worth is, I mean less than six
million dollars. Now, this guy has made top money UFC
wise compared to you know, other sports. I guess I'm
just saying, like, you know, Pacio made seventeen million in

(25:50):
one night, and I'll tell you I think the UFC,
it's it's a bigger money maker. It's a bigger draw.
Poria Halloway mess making less than two million each last night,
yet the UFC is making more money. I went at
the UFC's made more money last night than than than
the boxing did, so it sold out a million plus
pay per views. Listen, the UFC just don't know rob

(26:13):
maybe a strong word like it was saying the UFC
robs people. All I can tell you is the owners
of the UFC have made like five billion while their
biggest fighter made less than fifty million, and the drop
down from there was like literally twenty million. McGregor made
more money in one night of boxing versus Mayweather. Then

(26:35):
he made his entire career with the UFC.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
Mike Drop Sorry, Yeah, no, it is wild. The money disparity.
It really is a joke, and it's one of these
other The other part of it is, I'm surprised that,
you know, some of these UFC fighters, I'm surprised they're
not like because some of them are pretty good boxers.
I'm surprised they're not like. You know, I'm gonna try
and make this big prize money and go into boxing

(27:00):
instead of UFC because that's where the huge money is.
If you're a big draw, you can cash in pak. Yeah,
was gone for four years. It's the seventeen million bucks
last night. It really is a joke how some of
those UFC guys, the big names, the big draws, they
don't make the big money that they make peanuts in comparison.
It's wild.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
Are you guys? UFC guys, Brian and Jeff, are you
guys do Yeah?

Speaker 3 (27:24):
I enjoy it. I don't go crazy, but I do
enjoy I enjoy both.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
You know.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
I love boxing too. Yeah, huge into boxing? You Jeff?
You in to the octagon the no, no, yeah, I don't.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Have the brank capacity to like to add any more sports. Well,
you guys were talking about this. I was thinking about
how bad the WNB All Star Game was last night.
Oh yeah, and uh. And I will say though, I'm
going to my first fight, my first event. The PFL
is coming to Charlotte on on August fifteenth. And my

(28:00):
good buddy I did radio with for six years, Sean O'Connell,
is the play by play guy for the PFL. So
he's invited me to come and it will be my
first time. He's like, bring the family. I'll probably skip
the family at the fights, but I will go my
first one first, my first time ever going to a
UFC or me an MMA fights will be on Friday,

(28:23):
August fifteenth.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Very nice, Brian.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
I thought he was gonna say, yeah, he's into the
UFC a little bit, because you know, the younger guys,
US older guys don't really get into it like the
I just figured the you know, like someone like himself
and you know, the younger guys plus if the uf
I'm sorry, the NFL players, NBA players, they love going
to fight, so I just can't get into it. And
Jeff said something really good there. I like what he said.

(28:47):
I just can't dip my foot in another sport to
make money in. But however, I do have a good
UFC guy. I really have to start paying more attention
because I get a spreadsheet every week, and every week
I say, Jesus, how can I not be betting this stuff.
I just find it really hard to bet something laying
two to one, three to one. Now I have to

(29:08):
if he loses, I have to win three fights just
to get even. Even boxing, I've never bet a lot
on boxing. I've probably lost more money betting against Floyd
Mayweather because I always thought, oh, take a take five
to one on this guy. Take five to one this guy.
I just thought that was the value. But Floyd proved
me wrong for sure. But I probably made all the

(29:30):
money back when when when Floyd fort McGregor, that was
a big, big, big pay. The one of my biggest
bets I've made in my life was Floyd mether Mayweather
versus McGregor. Everyone was coming to Vegas. You understand, it
was all UFC fans and in volume, everyone was betting McGregor.
It was a great opportunity to bet Mayweather. Literally the

(29:52):
day of the fight, some of the sports books were
begging you want one with stations who actually the owners
owned the UFC at the time, they were like minus
one sixty on Mayweather when he was minus two fifty
and three hundred the day before they were begging they
had all mcgregormand. And by the way, the town made
more money that day. In general, they wish they had

(30:14):
paydays like that. I'm talking about, you know, even non
gaming revenue. But also in the sports book. The sportsbooks
killed it that day.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
So, by the way, speaking of killing it, Scotty Scheffler,
beautiful approach. They're gonna like a good Burdie Putt. Ridiculous, Yeah,
Zach right next to the whole ridiculous shot man. But
uh listen, we uh we go from you know, a
fantastic golfer and Scottie Scheffler to a fantastic humanitarian and

(30:45):
also a great update an I would that would be
Isaac Lowenkron with us here. I love what's going on, buddy. Hey,
good morning fellas.

Speaker 8 (30:51):
And unfortunately, the only bad thing about the NFL being
back is the fact that injuries are back. Is this morning,
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell and that defensive tackle
Levi owned Zerike underwent surgery to repair a torn acl
and we'll be out for the season.

Speaker 9 (31:07):
Levi surgery was it was significant, but it needed to
be done, you know, out of his control and it
needed to be done, and so he will miss the season.

Speaker 8 (31:17):
Owned Zerike started ten games last year and had a
career high at thirteen quarterback hits. As you guys mentioned,
in the one hundred and fifty third Open Championship at
royal Port Rush in Northern Ireland, Scotti Scheffler a four
shot lead at fourteen under par overall on the first hole.
As we speak, he's about a foot away from the cup.

(31:37):
Here's how it sounded moments ago when he was introduced
on the first team. Sorry guys, Sorry guys, Sorry about
that wrong, Scotty.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Let's try that again the USA. Scotty Scheffler like the
first better?

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Yeah, yeah, you know what.

Speaker 8 (32:00):
I think golf would be even more popular if they
brought in Ray Clay to do the introductions at majors.
But right on schedule, Scotti Scheffler just birdied the first hole,
so he's at fifteen under par overall and now has
a five shot lead already over Lee Howe Tong and
Major League Baseball On Saturday night, the Milwaukee Brewers if
heated the Los Angeles Dodgers eight to seven for a

(32:23):
nine game winning streak. Show Hey Otani in a losing
causes thirty third home run to lead the National League
Mariners over the Astros at eleven innings, seven to six,
as rookie Cole Young the game winning RBI single in
the bottom half of the eleventh inning, the most positive
coal play of the week at a group event where

(32:44):
a lot of people were there and there were luxury
suites and video cameras.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Back to you, guys, Thank you Ilo. It is Fox
Sports Radios Countdown presented by bet MGM. Be sure to
check out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just search
Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see a whole
bunch of video highlights from our show. Be sure to
subscribe to you always have instant access to our Fox
Sports Radio videos on YouTube. Jeff, you did mention the
WNBA All Star Game, Man, You and I texted a

(33:10):
couple of times during this was unwatchable, Man, it was brutal.
And listen, they're just like most of these All Star games.
The NBA All Star Game is even worse. A lot
of the All Star games are really really bad. There
was just no competitiveness, just nothing. And it was weird

(33:30):
too because they wore shirts before the game, pay us
what you owe us? Right, they're arguing with the you know,
they're trying to get the CBA in their favor, and
that's fine. I get it. The contracts are so low.
We were talking about UFC fighters not making much, like
Caitlin Clark's base salary for twenty twenty five is seventy
eight thousand dollars. That's a joke. So I get, on

(33:53):
one hand, you got to fight for what you deserve.
But on the other hand, it is so embarrassing to
make this like your hey, pay us what you always
pledge your plea and then you go out and you
have zero intensity and it's an unwatchable product. It is
so embarrassing to do both on the same night.

Speaker 4 (34:13):
So I have a rule that if you watch an
All Star game, you can't complain about it, so you know,
it's it's sort of my fault. The problem is we
just saw Baseball have a very as they always do,
a very competitive game, and then we saw the w
NBA like it was just on one look, look, look
this is inherently a problem with the sport compared to

(34:34):
the NBA. Like the NBA guys at least like they're
dunking and they're like doing some This was just like,
I mean they were they were missing layups again, Brian,
like wide open, like Sabrina blew a layup, Angel blew
a layup. Like just like you're like, if you're gonna
have an All Star game, at least make the layups.
And so you know again, I mean a fee one
m VP as she should because she had she was

(34:56):
very good yesterday. But yeah, it was, uh, look quickly
on this on the wa A thing. I think they
get nine percent of their CBA now. They make no money,
so arguing for more is tough. But they just want
a higher percent of the CBA. Right, They're gonna get

(35:16):
a new TV deal, So the new TV deal will
give the league more money. The question is, obviously how
much is the league willing to lose to give them
more money? Right, And if you give them fifty percent
of money, they lose seventy million dollars every year as
a league. So if you give them twenty five percent
or well that nine percent right now, they lose forty million,
so or I think it's about right. So, nonetheless, they

(35:37):
just want a higher percent of revenue. They don't want
to be quote unquote like paid more. That's probably the
wrong way to say it. They just want a higher
cut of revenue, which again other sports leagues give their
athletes to high cut of the revenue.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
To take your word, I'll to take your words that
it was unwatchable. I did not watch it that so
I definitely need one of those. I need one of
those shirts though, pay what you always wear that around town?
That was around Vegas.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
That was a pretty bold move to wear those. I
was surprised they win in that direction. We can talk
more about this later. I have some thoughts on that.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Sure, all right, nice, we'll bring it back up.

Speaker 5 (36:17):
All right.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
We've got Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran, Bill Krackenberger,
professional sports handicapper. I'm Brian no coming up next the

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Check this out far late, ladder.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
Ah, yes, the platter. We each have one selection for you.
We pull it together for a greater payout. Crack. We
start with you. Where are you taking us?

Speaker 5 (37:30):
Yeah, let's go to baseball. I mean I'd love to
have a summer league clay for each A little bit
too early. Let's go to baseball. Let's go with the
Minnesota Twins. I need them to win a game here,
even though I have some future bets on or against
a couple different teams. We got to go by individual games.
Let's go for the Minnesota Twins today.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Right, Okay, that was gonna be mine, but it's okay.
I can pivot.

Speaker 5 (37:57):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
Really yeah, I mentioned them at the top. I'm in
a money line parlay with Shuffler. Remember that they're gonna
they've lost two in a row. All right, how about this,
I will take the first game today to twelve o
five Eastern. Give me the under eight. I believe it's
under eight. Blue Jays and Giants eight and a half.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
Yeah and a half.

Speaker 4 (38:16):
You can even you know what, Brian, it's a parlay.
You even go nine if you want to. Just let
me know how it works out here. Barrio is throwing
for the Blue Jays. The Giants just steak. They can't score.
They have scored three runs or less in forty eight
percent of their games this season. They cannot They had
ten hits in Game one and scored zero runs, and
then they had three hits yesterday and scored three three runs.
They don't score. And Raise throwing for the Giants, who's

(38:38):
been fantastic all season. Early game today as well. I
like the under here eight and a half. I guess
Brian can let me know what it looks like for
nine on the parlat but under eight and a half
first game of the day today.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
Wow, this doesn't even seem right. So eight and a half,
if you go to the totals tab, Jeff's right, you can.
You can pick and choose what you want. It's like
a sliding scale. So eight and a half it's minus
a dollar eighteen nine yep is minus a dollar sixty.

Speaker 4 (39:06):
Cool.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
That's a big jump right there, Like it goes up
incrementally like that, So it's not the craziest jump. But
I don't know. One eighteen to one sixty is like, wow,
if you like it under eight and at what do
you like? Jeff? Which one do you want?

Speaker 4 (39:20):
You want to have fun?

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Okay? And crack you had? Are you going money line
with the twins?

Speaker 5 (39:27):
Yeah? And I you know, listen, I'm not betting the
game individually. I just figured since we're doing the parlay platter,
it is on my list that has some value at
minus side MGM's minus two fifty. I'm not betting minus
two fifty oh three right now, but throwing in the
parlay we do with Parla platters. That's why we do it.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
There you go, that makes sense. I got you, Okay,
I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with the Reds
game here. Andrew Abbot has been having a really strong
season as the starting pitcher for the Reds and he's
going up against David Peterson, who he's hit or miss
right like. Overall, his ERA is just a little over
three respectable season, but he's had some stinkers here and there.

(40:07):
The Mets have lost four of Peterson's last five starts.
So I like the Reds here. I'm gonna go first five.
I'll go first five. I'll go with the spread too.
If we're just going with the parlay here, I don't
hate the plus money at plus one ten, but I'll
go plus half a run. It's at minus a dollar

(40:30):
forty so if you parlay these three selections, it's plus
three forty three for us here as a team. That's
not a bad parlay right there. If you go money
line with the Reds in the first five, it's plus
four forty three. So if you're feeling a little saucy,
just go money line with the Reds in the first five.
But I'll take the half run. Sometimes that comes in
real handy. You know, you just have to have to

(40:52):
be tied. Just don't be losing, and you're good to go.
So I like it in this spot with Andrew Abbott.
What do you think, guys, we're gonna win this thing?

Speaker 5 (41:00):
I hope.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
So we'll know early on Giants First Gale. We'll know
fast if it's good or not.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
I can tell you that, yeah, yeah, no doubt. All right,
comeing up next, we have a few acquisitions. But you
gotta remember you can't help the club from the tub
that is on Oh what is happening? Happy Sunday too?
You hope things are going well in your world. You
can't help the club from the tub. We'll get to

(41:24):
that in just a couple of seconds. Have you sure
to check out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just
search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see a
whole bunch of video highlights from our shows. And be
sure to subscribe so you always have instant access to
our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. Okay, So, got
a handful of acquisitions in the NBA, some buyouts and

(41:46):
then players relocating, if you will. So the latest one
is Marcus Smart. So Marcus Smart agreed to a buyout
with the Wizards and he's gonna link up with the
Lakers two year deal, eleven million bucks. And you know,
the question is how much is he gonna help? Can
he help a decent amount? He's a former Defensive Player

(42:07):
of the Year. You got to read the fine print
on this stuff because Marcus Smart, he's only played fifty
four games over the past two seasons because of injuries.
That would be a low total for one season. For
two seasons, that's you're banged up all the time. And Jeff,
you've talked about this, You've talked about some of the

(42:28):
best teammates you've had in the NFL. They all have
this ability to heal. Like Wolverine, you.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
Know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
They're just not injured for long and when they do
come back, it's like they weren't injured to begin with.
That's not the case with Marcus Smart. Unfortunately, you hear
a lot of talk about Bradley Beal joining the Clippers.
That guy has averaged thirty three missed games a season
over the last four years. Missing thirty three games a season, like,

(42:57):
your impact is not gonna be great if you're banged
up that often, and I don't know how you would
expect either of those guys to all of a sudden,
you know, be playing a significant portion of the season
when they're missing that many games that consistently correct.

Speaker 4 (43:13):
Look, I saw a tweet. I think it's so true,
like the Lakers are putting together a team to win
in twenty twenty one, not on twenty twenty five. You know,
the Lakers fan, I'm whatever, man Like, I'm none of
it is. You're not You're not beating Okac with what
they have. I mean, I don't know, man, seven games. No,

(43:33):
I'm not gonna do it. Brian. I'm not gonna do it, Brian.
There's no way they're not being okay. See right Like
I think right now, it's about building the roster the
best way to a want to keep Luca and then
obviously what do you do with Lebron midseason? If you
can find a package for him, do you move on
from Lebron? You know, Marcus smart at some toughness, right

(43:54):
that if he plays at some toughness. I mean, there's
some things that are important, I think some defense, but
he's not. It's making the difference between the Lakers winning
and losing a championship this year. But I mean, obviously
I want them to do the best they can to win,
but everything you do has got to be to make
sure that that Lucas sides that extension.

Speaker 5 (44:16):
Yeah, you know, I think this is a great pickup
actually though for LA I mean smart to crafty vet
who can really lock down as a defender. The ex
Defensive Player of the Year has really looked this since
leaving this so last couple of years. He's been battled
some injuries with Memphis Washington. But I think if you
could stay healthy, that the Lakers are a great fit

(44:38):
for him. They were really lacking that shutdown defender last
year and Smart can fill that gap as long as he,
like I said, as long as he does stay healthy.
So uh, that here and Brian say that he only
played that many games in two years actually even shocked me.
So uh, he has to just just stay healthy, and
I think I think he could be a good fit
for the team.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
It's thing, though, crack, because like I feel like that
if you know, if he's healthy, right, like it almost
I don't know how to explain it exactly because it's
there in your head, but it's almost like a lot
of people don't don't focus on it as much as
it needs to be focused on. Does that make sense
where it's like you can say that with anyone someone

(45:21):
who's banged up consistently, like, hey man, if he can
find a way to that's you realize how massive of
an if that is. Yeah, it's it's not a realistic if.

Speaker 4 (45:33):
Once you get hurt and you're older, it never really
goes away. You just look, I'm proof of that. I
kept getting hurt and it a tag of injury prone
and never went away. As much I wanted it to,
like go away and need to be healthy, it just never.
It just doesn't happen, right, It's just it's hard to
stay healthy. Once you get older, your body breaks down.
It's much more difficult to stay healthy and do your

(45:55):
rehab as you need to do it. You know, everything
just gets for we all see it. This we age
right in this situation where to rely on him for
an entire season isn't great. But if you can get him,
you know, healthy four you know a postseason run, that
would be great. Also, quickly, if you're watching a golf major,

(46:16):
any golf event, and someone shoots a shot and they
can't find it on the camera. Probably not great, right,
not a good sign? Okay because Roy just kind of
shot that the camera couldn't find. Probably not good.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
Or like the graphic the ball locator or it's just
it's that loop, you know, it starts straight and it
just loops like whoa, it's gonna be way off. Yeah,
not good. Not a good sign.

Speaker 5 (46:40):
Yeah, you guys have it on the background. What what
hole is Scotty on? How many holes do you play?

Speaker 4 (46:46):
They've only played three. I think he's on three, but
he's a birdie attempt on three right now, so he's five.

Speaker 5 (46:52):
He's five fifteen fifteen holes to go minus twenty to
one at MGM and everywhere he.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
Ain't losing, So that's not that he's not I mean
he's five up right now. The question is I took Rory.
I took Rory winner without so basically to finish second place.
To finish second place, I took him last night plus
three thirty.

Speaker 5 (47:15):
To finish second. You need to find the ball.

Speaker 4 (47:19):
I need to find the ball.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
Yes, that was crazy yesterday. I'm sure you saw that
where he hit his shot on eleven and uh, there
was a random mystery ball that was buried near his ball.
So he hits his ball and then this random ball
just pops out and he grabs it and he's like
what is this? He's like, this is in my ball?

(47:41):
What is going on here? That was wild?

Speaker 4 (47:45):
Like that about Okay some golf rules. Okay, the the
Shane Lattery thing, all right? So he he uh, he
goes to addresses ball. He removes his club and the
ball tilts, I don't know, three degrees. Okay, it's the
same exact spot. He gets assessed a two shot penalty

(48:06):
for that. Wow, I feel like, can we use common sense?
Like the shot was the exact same, The ball was
in no better position, nothing happened that would have changed
what was about to happen, and you got two shot
penalty for that. I feel like that's not the spirit
of the rule, right. The rule is obviously in place

(48:26):
for if you touch your ball it moves to a
better position, or you tamp down some grass or sad
and it moves. But did it just like rotated to degree?
It didn't. It didn't change us just shot at all.
So Rory actually found his ball. It's actually like pin high.
It's actually not a bad chip shot for Roy right now.
But uh, I just I didn't like. I don't like
how some rules like that feel like they get they're

(48:49):
so stringent when Larry was clearly not trying to cheat.

Speaker 5 (48:54):
Yeah, no, right, definitely not definitely not there are.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
Like listen, I think it's too punitive. I think that's
just too much where I've thought that for a long time.
With targeting in college man like that, it's.

Speaker 4 (49:08):
So projection for that you're rejecting got college kid because
he he a lot of times. And that's why I
go this idea, like I think that we need for
targeting especially. I really do think intent matters, and I
think we can tell intent. I really think we can,
and we have smart enough people that have that have
washed enough football. You can tell intent. Okay, and a

(49:29):
college player ejected for targeting, to me, it's just it's wrong,
and I think they have to find a way to
use intent. Is he leading with his helmet, is he
propelling himself? Is he off the ground? All these things
matter when it comes to that. In the NFL, guy
gets fined. You can't find people in college because maybe
you can't nowt the money they're making. But I just
don't like how punitive it is.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
It's too much. I think that's just overboard. It's funny
because I was flipping channels yesterday and they replayed the
Texas Arizona State playoff game. Oh yeah, do you remember
there is clear targeting by Texas This about a minute
to goo tie game, Arizona State's got third and fifteen.
They completed a pass for about ten yards targeting clear

(50:12):
as day, I mean helmet to helmet, textbook targeting. And
the officials were like, but it's Texas, it's not it's
not targeting. Mind blown, you know what I mean? Like,
so you'll kick a guy out in the first quarter
for accidental targeting, But then there are other instances where
it's clear as day and you don't even call it.
It's just so goofy how they deal with it. Do

(50:34):
you remember, Jeff, there was something that occurred in basketball
and we both were talking about on this show. We're
talking about how punitive it was. I don't know if
you remember off the top of your head where I
can't remember if it was a flagrant one and it
was on top of you got a couple of freak
throws in the ball.

Speaker 4 (50:54):
Well, the thing about basketball sometimes is they call the
flagrant the flagrance, and one is basically unintentional, right, and
it's you're like, is that really? Like, I just it
gets to the point where I think sometimes it goes
by such letter of the law. There was there was
a game that had a big, a big like swing

(51:15):
because of a flag or foul and you know, get
two shots in college and the ball and it was
like they didn't do it on purpose. And I don't
like how it's officiated sometimes, and I think we should
use some nuance when it comes to some of these decisions.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
Yeah, yeah, I wish I could remember the game. I
cannot run. I think it was college and it was
probably in the tournament. I think it was in the
NCAA tournament, But I can't remember the exact scenario off
the top.

Speaker 5 (51:38):
Of my head.

Speaker 3 (51:40):
Partice money, Yeah, probably, Well maybe it didn't, otherwise I
really would have remembered it. You know, it's just details
floating around in space. Now, how about crack. We're watching
the Open Championship. You know, do you get down on
any like whole bets, like hold a whole? Do you
do anything out side of top five, top ten to

(52:02):
win the tournament. Yeah, but anything like that.

Speaker 5 (52:05):
I bet golf every week. The number one bets I
make is matchups player versus player. It's the lowest juice. Yeah,
it's the lowest hole the sportsbooks, those top five top tens.
I'll dabble a little bit, but the hold is just
you're talking twenty thirty house edge on these type of bets,
even futures to win the tournament. Now, granted, if they're
like some peanut bets, have a little fun. Jeff bet

(52:28):
yesterday there Rory to you know, finish without Scheffler the
best plus three something a little have a little fun
with that. But as far as my bets, I'll bet
some daies, but I bet golf every single week. People
probably are shocked to hear that golfer verse golfer. Every
single week. I'll have my matchups, and you know, I

(52:50):
actually had Rory over Scheffler with the with the value
because he was like plus one fifty this week. So
I'm gonna lose that one. However, hold on my own
the other one. So you know, when you sometimes you
get take some value. There's just a Situationally, I have
to evolve a little bit and say, hey, can I

(53:11):
lay minus one seventy on you know, literally on a
seventy two whole matchup. Can you lay that kind of money?
And I probably haven't brought myself to delay that any
big juice on a golfer and a matchup like that. However,

(53:31):
you know, I'll lay one thirty one forty one fifty.
Maybe this situation this week I did not, But yeah, no,
I bet it every day. It's fun, it's great. When
I'm done here, I'll do even though Scheffler's kind of
kind of running away with it a little bit. I'll
watch it and just for the sport of the game,
for the love of the game, which is very rare
to me, because my loyalty and my allegiance is to

(53:54):
my bankroll, so I don't have no I don't care
about these golfers. They don't care about me. But however,
it's great to see someone like Scheffler, one of the
best players that we'll ever see of our time. So
I will watch it just to be a fan of
the game. Love of the game.

Speaker 3 (54:10):
Look at that. Look at that the fan of the game,
Bill Krackenberger. You know I knew it was in there somewhere,
don't tell anybody, Yeah, I won't. I will get it out.

Speaker 4 (54:20):
I shocked to learn that I actually live wager on
some holes that I've done one today. Yeah, I'm one
for one. Today I took Rory to birdie or better
hold two, which is the par five plus one hundred,
and he birdied.

Speaker 3 (54:36):
That was an easy cast for you too, right.

Speaker 4 (54:38):
When I've done so far, I typically all fade guys
like I did in other tournaments, and in the US Open,
I just faded everyone on like the hardest holes to
bogear or worse essentially. But today in the par fives.
But yesterday Scheffler, I looked this up. On par five twelve,
he was minus four fifty to birdie or better and

(54:59):
he ended up getting a are.

Speaker 5 (55:00):
Yeah it has to oh wow, okay, yeah. Interesting.

Speaker 3 (55:05):
By the way, real fast, if you do a whole bet, Jeff,
which do you like better? If you've got, you know,
a birdie bet and they hit a beautiful shot, or
you've got a bogey bet and they just sail one
off into the weeds. Which do you like better?

Speaker 4 (55:20):
Okay? The thing about you know these pro golfers and
we know this is they can recover so well. So
I actually prefer the one where it's a good shot
and I have the birdie on them, because yeah, the
ball can go, can have it? You have a bad
t shot, and these guys save themselves so much that
it's not guaranteed to be a bogie. Especially depends on

(55:41):
the course how well they're playing. You know, in the
US Open, if you got in the rough, that was
it probably right like that was done. But in this course,
if I bet your bogey, which I haven't done all
I'm not going to do, and you hit the ball
into the rough, it's not that punitive as we're seeing
with the scores today and the scores all week. So
I much prefer, you know, have someone to birdie a
hole on a par five and they just hit it

(56:02):
three ten down the middle of the fairway. That feels
great for me where I want to be.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
Yeah, no doubt. All right, We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional
sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian.
No score bigger at bet MGM. When you win with
boost tokens, odds, boost tokens and more. Even if your
bet doesn't hit, we've got you covered with no sweat tokens, and.

Speaker 10 (56:22):
That's not all.

Speaker 3 (56:22):
Signed up with BETMGM today and you'll have access to
countless betting options, including new look same game parlays, teasers,

next our may man, Christian Cipollini from BETMGM. He drops
on by. We'll talk all things betting sports world with Christian.
He always has a great amount of information. We'll have

(56:43):
some fun with him. Coming up, it is Fox Sports

All right, let's do this.

Speaker 4 (57:19):
Follow the money, real good money.

Speaker 3 (57:21):
We welcome in our good buddy, Christian Cipollini BETMGM Trading Manager.
Good morning, Christian. So we just saw Scotty Scheffler tap
in another birdie. He's sixteen under now for the tournament
at the Open Championship. Can you give us an idea
of what you're rooting for because he's such a massive favorite, Like,

(57:44):
what does the handle typically look like for you guys?
Are you typically like anybody but Scotty winning this or
is the handle not that massive where you don't feel
that way from tournament to tournament? How does it break
down for you guys with Scotty Scheffler.

Speaker 10 (58:00):
So it can always depend tournaments by tournament. In this
one in particular, he's taken the most bet, he's taking
the most money by far, but we're still okay with
him winning. It's not going to be a good winner,
but to that point, you know, he was. He starts
at plus five hundred to start the tournament, and he
did start out pretty well, so he jumped into minus

(58:21):
money pretty quick, and those type of things usually will
help us when it's a huge favorite like that. If
it was a tournament where he started out that big,
you know, maybe had a bad day one or day
two and he's a little bit behind. That's where I
can really start to eat up on us when people
start getting them at a much better number. But this one,
we're fortunate that he's been ahead most of the time,
so you know, we're looking okay at the moment, but

(58:44):
it really can depend it. Scotty just makes everything so
so difficult sometimes or interesting when it comes to golf,
just because of how big of a favorite he would be.
Like at this moment, going into last night into the day,
the market is obviously going to take more money is
win or without Scotty Scheffler, because he's up by so much,
and really at this point, no one's going to project

(59:04):
him to lose it.

Speaker 4 (59:06):
So what price are willing people to pay for Scotty? Like,
what's the what's the highest people will go on taking
him just to win the tournament? Like what number did
you post? And you're just like this, No, no more
wages are happening right now. There are people still minus
two thousand taking Scheffler to win.

Speaker 10 (59:25):
Yeah, a little bit, but for the most part. You know,
once since I was getting into those really big numbers,
you know, once we start getting under minus two hundred,
you know, especially when he's looking at you know, two
days to go in a tournament, he's minus two hundred.
That's really not too enticing to a lot of people.
So a lot of our actional in Scotty was leading
up to the tournament and then you know, right around

(59:46):
day one and then it really starts to die off
as people then start wanting to bet somebody else like
Rory obviously is taking our second most bets, but you know,
people have gotten him at a much better price. You know,
he was twenty to one going into yesterday. So if
Rory were to somehow miraculously come back and win, that
would be a nightmare for the book at this point
because we have a ton of liability there and anybody

(01:00:07):
coming back you know, wouldn't be great. Is that's what
starts to become the more interesting the battle And is
somebody at fifty to one where you think they're a
little bit to try to win a lot?

Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
Christian, my question for you is this, it's unusual for
all three of us to have a question on the
same exact event of the year, this this particular tournament though,
being a major How has the volume been compared to
let's say the Masters or you're one of the other majors,
the PGA, what is this pretty much the same on

(01:00:41):
the same levels because it is international or is it
you know, much less than a master's bet tournament.

Speaker 10 (01:00:48):
I think for US, especially on the US side, the
Open Championship ends up being the least bet of the
four majors, and a lot of that is due to
time zone. You know, with this one starting, a lot
of the pregame odds sometimes will down, you know two
three in the morning. You know, some of those specials
that get bet, you know, the full specials or uh
you know, full round specials, all those type of things,

(01:01:11):
they don't have as much run up as they would
for the Masters or something like that. So it's a
lot of the side bets is actually where we end
up taking a little bit more of a hit, and
that it really is just due to time zone. Sometimes
it's also part of the year. You know, the Masters
is in the middle of April where you know there's NBA, NHL,
a lot of things going on, you know, March Man
is just ended, whereas the Open tend b in the

(01:01:34):
middle of the summer where less and less people are betting.
So a lot of kind of factors that lead into it,
not that it's I'm sure the TV numbers are probably similar,
but we definitely see some difference. Is in the betting numbers.

Speaker 3 (01:01:46):
I'm curious about the Washington Commanders here Christian where Okay,
they're much different opinions on the team right where y'all
hear some people, Hey, they'll talk them up, Hey, Jayden Daniels,
real special quarterback, They're gonna be a tough team this year.
And then I'll get the complete opposite opinion where it's like, well, hey,
look at what happened with CJ. Stroud and look at

(01:02:08):
the texts. They kind of fell off last season, and
they're predicting Washington to fall off. So what does it
look like in the futures markets, whether it's the season
win total? Are a lot of people on the over?
Are is anybody taking them to win the NFC? Win
the Super Bowl? What's it looking like for the Commanders
for you guys?

Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
Yeah, that's that's funny.

Speaker 10 (01:02:31):
I think there'll be an interesting team for us betting
wise this season, kind of from what you mentioned, because
I think you can tell yourself a lot of different
stories about where this is going to go. Is he
gett as he said, have a CG job fall off
or you know, they have kind of retooled around them.
You know, the NFC is pretty weak so far on
the over nine and a half. We've taken a majority

(01:02:52):
of the money on the over, and a lot of
that can come with scheduling to make the playoffs. Obviously,
they're a pretty h They're actually to not make the playoffs.
This plus poet fifteen, so they're really not like a
super lot from the od vetting standpoints to make the playoffs,
but all the bets there on that. They are tier
two for us, I'd say from a championship perspective, the

(01:03:14):
first team or the lowest odds of that tier two,
and they have taken a good amount of bets, so
people definitely believe in them. It looks like, at least
from what I'm seeing that from the numbers, but I
wouldn't be surprised as if we get closer to the season.
You know, they are one of the oldest teams despite
having a very young quarterback. From an age perspective, they

(01:03:35):
are pretty old. So maybe we'll end up getting more
of a comeback on the under as we get closer
to the season.

Speaker 4 (01:03:41):
So the Chiefs Division price seems very cheap to me.
Is the cheapest it's been in eight years. And the Chiefs,
I think roster wise are even better than last season.
You see a lot of action on that. I keep
sort of adding a little bit to my portfolio in
the Chiefs every week.

Speaker 5 (01:03:54):
Is that number.

Speaker 4 (01:03:55):
It kind of doesn't really budget all.

Speaker 10 (01:03:58):
They are most team by good amount that Actually we've
taken more bets on them to when the the AFC
West and we have the rest of the teams combined.
Be right, this is the this is the lowest. This
is the cheapest that you've been able to get them
in a very long time. Probably a lot of questions,
you know, this division might be a little bit stronger.
We've actually taken a fair amount of Raiders bets from

(01:04:21):
the division, and actually we took we took one on
them for the Super Bowl, which I was happy to take.
Uh yeah, But you do have the Chargers and the
Broncos who were you know, have a really good offensive line,
a really good defense. So they're a team that could
project to be a lot better. They've taken a few
amount of bets too.

Speaker 5 (01:04:41):
Christian before I I'm actually on the East Coast before
I came out here, though, I had to make another
five thousand dollars depositive bet MGM. I've never taken a withdrawal, however,
I have to admit it. I went to go look
at my pending bets because I was kind of perplexed,
and I have like eighty pending. So I'll just tell you,
I have to have a shameless plug here for BETMGM.

(01:05:03):
For me to have all these future bets with bet MGM,
it means you guys are offering some really good value.
And my question is this because I know I've bet
a lot of futures and a lot of even props
in NFL futures. When you go into putting a lineup
that trust me. If I'm betting you guys, it means
you have the best line out there. So do you

(01:05:26):
compare to one other shop when you to make all
these lines appetizing? Or do you just go by what
you think your customer base will bet? Or do you say, hey,
this is what we like personally. Is there some personal
opinion involved or is it a combination of all three.

Speaker 10 (01:05:44):
It's a very good question, and you did nail kind
of the three that the thought process goes through. Sometimes
we'll have a you know, a flag plant of, Hey,
we want to be the best in the market on
this team for X, Y and Z reason. Maybe it's
because we have liability, or maybe it's because we don't
have liability. So we'll say, okay, well, we'll give them
the best price if you can entice some bets. Sometimes

(01:06:04):
it'll be that. Sometimes it'll be the opposite of we
know that we're going to take bets on this team
because the state is big or it's a big fan base,
And sometimes we say, okay, we don't want this action.
And then other times we don't have an opinion. We
might look around the market. Maybe you know, there's a
few on the one high side and a few on
the one low side, and we say, okay, let's meet
in the middle somewhere. So it can really depend. But

(01:06:27):
it's funny that you mentioned that, because those are all
the factors that do kind of sometimes come into play.

Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
Hey, Christian always great stuff. Man, appreciate you popping on
here on a Sunday. Hope you have a great day.
We'll catch you soon, of course, have a good day, guys,
Yeah you too. There he is Christian Sippolina bet MGM
trading manager. Great stuff. Speaking of great stuff, I mean
this rights itself. Isaac Lohenkron is on deck and he
swings like two bats at the same time. He doesn't

(01:06:54):
go with the weighted donut. He goes two bats, swinging on.

Speaker 5 (01:06:57):
The on deck circle.

Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
He's ready, right, here's going on.

Speaker 8 (01:07:00):
I low, well, thank you for the kind introduction. As always, Unfortunately,
whether I swung two weighted bats or the bat with
the donut, it did not make a difference during my
abbreviated little league career. One of the reasons I'm here
right now still never forgot the opposing team head coach's

(01:07:22):
soul crushing command when I would approach the plate, move
in everyone, oh man, well and CON's up.

Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
Yeah, that's always great for the ego. Right hey, center
fielder moving like twenty five steps. Yeah, that's great.

Speaker 8 (01:07:38):
Ah. You can't buy childhood memories like that. Well, I'll
tell you what. Scottie Scheffler making memories right now in
the final round of the Open Championship, because basically even
the Open radio commentators have conceded that he's going to win,
and he's only four holes into the final rounds the.

Speaker 5 (01:08:00):
Soop back through Oh dead, yes, it's finished dead sentiment.
He just caught it up for the left on side
thirty three, sixteen under.

Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
Well, if this was boxing, they'd stop the fight now.

Speaker 8 (01:08:16):
So already two birdies in four holes today for Scheffler,
He's got a seven shot lead sixteen under par overall.
Bryson Deshamba, Harris English, Chris Goddrup, Rory McElroy, Matt Fitzpatrick,
and Lee Howe Tong are in a six way tie
for second place, but again they are all seven shots

(01:08:38):
behind Scotty Scheffler. By the way, a good day by
Ricky Fowler. He's eight shots back, but today he shot
a six hundred sixty five.

Speaker 5 (01:08:47):
Right now.

Speaker 8 (01:08:48):
Mcloy is one under through five, but Scheffler not only
maintaining his lead but pulling away again a seven shot
lead in the final round of the Open Championship with
fourteen holes remaining. We also have some NFL news on
this Sunday morning, as Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell
announced the defensive tackle Levi owns Aerique underwent surgery to

(01:09:11):
repair a torn ACL and we'll be out for the season.

Speaker 9 (01:09:13):
Levi's surgery was. It was significant, but it needed to
be done, you know, out of his control and it
needed to be done, and so he will miss the season.

Speaker 8 (01:09:23):
Own Zerike started ten games last year and had a
career high thirteen quarterback hits.

Speaker 5 (01:09:29):
Guys, back to you.

Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
Thank you Ilo. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented
by bet MGM. Score bigger at bet MGM when you
win with boost tokens, odds, boost tokens and more. Even
if your bet doesn't hit, We've got you covered with
no sweat tokens. And that's not all. Sign up with
bet MGM today and you'll have access to countless betting options,
including new look, same game parlays, Teezers, live bets, and

(01:09:50):
so much more. I want to talk some ball with
you guys in a second, but real fast. How about
the tournament? Bryson Deshambo had right. So first round seven
over seventy eight, he shot his seventy eight, and then
second day six under, yeah, third day three under, today,
seven under. He finishes minus nine for the tournament. He's

(01:10:13):
in second place with Rory unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (01:10:16):
Yeah, crazy, believable.

Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
I took a more livehole wagers, guys, I couldn't I
couldn't help myself cracked up.

Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
We got another birdie another one.

Speaker 4 (01:10:28):
Don't don't judge me, you ready? So I took Harris
English on whole seven the part five plus one forty
to birdie or better. He's on the green, he's right
outside the green in two. And I took got her
up same thing plus one thirty whole seven birdie or better.
This is a par five. Harris English birdied this whole

(01:10:52):
three straight days. It was like, I get plus one
thirty plus one forty for guy who's birdied the same
hole three days in a row, and got her up
as birdied at two of three days. So I know
a little sprinkle plus money. And like I said, English
is right off the green in two, so I feel
pretty good about that one. I don't know where got
arup is right now. I'm looking at the live shots

(01:11:13):
right now, so I've like those again. I very kind
of targeted, you know, you know, targeted, you know the
opportunities for those when I can.

Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
There you go very nice, okay, I promised you, yeah, yeah,
promised ball for you guys. So how about von Miller.
Von Miller go into the commanders here, right, So he's
thirty six and crack, you threw this in the rundown, right, crack.
I wanted to talk a little von Miller. So he's

(01:11:42):
thirty six, crack, as you pointed out, you know when
he texted two ACL injuries in the last four years.
So one thing you got to keep in mind. So
six sacks last season, zero sacks in twenty twenty three.
He's at one and a half for his career. That's
a really strong career. He's twenty fifth on the all

(01:12:05):
time list, and I was checking he needs three and
a half sacks to get into the top ten, top
twenty all time. Would you take the over or under
this season for von Miller three and a half sacks?
A lot of that's based on his health. What do
you think about that?

Speaker 4 (01:12:20):
So I would go over for this reason. I think
Commanders will be ahead and enough games where he gets
to rush the passer at the end of the game.

Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:12:27):
I mean, that's what you have to do with a
lot of these wagers, right is you got to see,
like how how the season is gonna go. I think
that we're gonna we're gonna see the Commanders being guys.
I know the Commanders had some things go there their way.
Last year, for example, you know they played a bunch
of backup quarterbacks, like thirty percent of their snaps on
defensive backup quarterbacks. I get all that stuff. I just

(01:12:48):
don't buy this. They're gonna have a sophomore slump because CJ.
Strade has a sophomore slump. I just don't get I
don't buy it. It's not that those are two separate situations.
So I think Washingt's gonna be good this year, and
that means Miller will have a chance to rush the passer.
This is a move where you just you have him
there to end games at end playoff games, right that's

(01:13:08):
his role right now. So we did in Los Angeles
with the Rams. Is what he did. He has I
believe the most fourth quarter of sacks NFL history. A
lot of sacks come in the fourth quarter. I could
probably find the exact number on that. I will say
though Mitch Schwartz played the best anyone ever played against
von Miller. They played like sixteen times. I think von
Miller got two sacks in a bunch of games. So,

(01:13:31):
but von Miller fourth quarter sacks. He he sets guys
up all the time. Uh and then and then boom
he gets them in the in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:13:45):
Yeah. I like this signing by the Commanders here. Miller
maybe thirty six and not the player he used to be,
but you know, Washington was really hurting in the past
Rush department last year, and uh, you know it's kind
of young on the on the side of the ball,
so they I mean, can you some veteran leadership? And
Miller is a future Hall of Famer And even at
his age, he's still played in sixteen games last year,

(01:14:07):
so I guess he's been pretty healthy. I mean, the
Commanders are coming off that big surprise season last year.
I have much higher expectations this year. I liked them
going out and grabbing approven Vet like von Miller.

Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
Yeah, yeah, where are real fast the cliff notes version?
Where are we on the Commanders in terms of expectations.
We've talked about this In terms of jad and Daniels,
I don't understand the C. J. Stroud comparisons, Like they're
different players, different styles.

Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
C J.

Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Stroud doesn't run half as much as Jaden Daniels does.
Supporting casts are different. I just don't see Jaden Daniels
falling off like C. J Stroud did his sophomore season,
so I reject the comparisons myself personally. But although we've
talked about that, what do you think about the Commanders?
I think they're in store for a really strong season.
Are we in agreement on that or what do you see?

Speaker 5 (01:14:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:14:58):
I'm yes, I'm agree with you on this. I think, Look,
can they be Are they going.

Speaker 5 (01:15:03):
To be.

Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
Like better than last year? I don't. I don't know.
They played tougher schedule, but I think they're gonna be
as competitive as they were last year against the best
teams in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:15:13):
Yeah, you crack. What do you think?

Speaker 5 (01:15:16):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:15:16):
You know?

Speaker 5 (01:15:16):
You heard what? Yeah, you heard what Christian said. They're
kind of one of the biggest better people. Bet I'm
betting on them. So I'm sure that BETAMGM is going
to be probably rooting against them for the season. But
they were over unders nine and a half wins, and
you know, betem gens one of the only places in
the world that you can do this. You could literally

(01:15:37):
go over four and a half wins or under four
and a half wins and you know, lay a price
or take a price. Same thing with fourteen and a
half wins so the middle ground though there is nine
and a half, but you could also go over ten
and a half plus one fifty or eight and a
half minus two ten. So one of the few sports
books that you could do that has the sliding scale.

(01:15:59):
But he myself, I like to be on the sportsbook side.
I'm not betting four or against. I bet four or
against many teams, but Washington wasn't one of them. But
I like to root for the kid because everyone is,
you know, knocking, not really knocking. Daniel's just saying, ah,
you know it's going to be a shroud like here,
and yeah, you know because because the second he struggled

(01:16:22):
a little bit in the second half. So no, I'm
gonna I'm gonna be rooting for him.

Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
All right, real fast. Last nugget for me at least
if you look at the twenty eleven draft class, that's
where von Miller was star studded the top twelve picks,
most of them studs. Right, he's the last guy who's active,
like you had Cam Newton number one. Cam Newton's been
retired for a few years, right, Marcel Darius was a

(01:16:47):
good defensive lineman. He's been retired since twenty nineteen. That
was his last season. I should say AJ Green, remember
great wide receiver, Patrick Peterson, dB, Julio Jones. His last
season was twenty twenty three, Alden Smith, Tyron Smith and
JJ Watt. Like of all those studs, von Miller is
the last guy standing still going, so see what kind

(01:17:08):
of year he'll have. All right, We've got Bill Krackenberger,
professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm
Brian Noll. Coming up next, prop it up. That's right,
the prop betting market. We will compare notes and uh,
I don't know if there are prop bets in the
summer league yet, but certainly in baseball, so we'll compare notes.
Coming up is Fox Sports Radio's Countdown presented by Bet MGM.

(01:17:32):
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by Bett MGM,
and it is time for the tire rack play of
the day.

Speaker 8 (01:17:40):
The one one pitch swung on Hick Hoel deep the
right center field going back is Wade at the track at.

Speaker 5 (01:17:47):
The wall, Gon red slam Per Kyle Swimmer and he
turns this game around.

Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Here you go, grand salami for Schwarps. That's complements of
Phillies Radio network. For over forty years, ti Raq has
been helping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive, ship fast and free back by
free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile
tire installation tire raq dot Com. The way tire buying

(01:18:17):
should be. All right, let's just dive into this.

Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
Prop it up, don't player plays?

Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
All right, crack the prop betting market your specialty. You
love this, live for it, wake up and you absolutely do.

Speaker 5 (01:18:34):
Yeah, we're right around the corner.

Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
You're the prop bets today, baby, Yeah, all right, So
what do you have for us today?

Speaker 5 (01:18:42):
Yeah, we're right around the corner for some big prop
bets for football season. Well, let's stick with baseball here.
Trevor Rodgers to Orioles. Total outs recorded over fifteen and
a half. Rogers has been one of the most efficient
pictures in baseball. He's gone to the seventh inning fourth
starts this year and is over the line five of six.

(01:19:03):
So let's go. Trevor Rodgers total outs recorded fifteen and
a half. Currently, there we go.

Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
Okay, I like it. I took a school ball tonight
over eighteen and a half out tonight plus one forty.
I know he's off the All Stars start and sometimes
that that is not the best time to take someone.
But he didn't pitch every well in that game. Remember
he was miked up too. He said, that's kind of weird.
He was talking through, which I thought Baseball did a
great job with that. The Raiders don't hit very well.

(01:19:31):
They don't score a bunch of runs. I think school
bol goes deep tonight. I just need what that's that's
nineteen outs, so just to get into the seventh inning essentially, right,
we get there and I'm a complete the seventh inning.
I'm good with that.

Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, right, what is it? What's the pitcher?

Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
It's picture outs on Ben mgm over eighteen and half
plus one.

Speaker 3 (01:19:52):
Forty, So you gotta go six and a.

Speaker 4 (01:19:54):
Third, yeah, which I'll take.

Speaker 3 (01:19:57):
Yeah, yeah, Okay, I don't hate that at all, not
one bit. So I smell what you're cooking. All right,
let me go to uh. I'm looking at two guys. Actually,
I like a couple of unders. You'd be proud of me.

Speaker 5 (01:20:11):
Crack.

Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
I'm gonna go Andrew Abbott my guy again, strong season
for the Reds. I'm gonna take under two and a
half earned runs today against the Mets. And I also
like Garrett Crochet. This number is really low, where I
like over six and a half strikeouts against the Cubbies
today because he's just been a strikeout artist all season long.

(01:20:36):
And I'll take I'll ride him, you know, I'll write
him in this situation where you go, look at what
he's done just the last handful of starts here, he's
just steady all the time, where you can count on him.
Where if you go back in reverse order nine strikeouts seven, nine, ten, eight, seven, nine, twelve, eleven,

(01:20:57):
you got to go all the way back to make
first where he didn't have seven strikeouts. I'll take that
all right. Coming up next, if you had to pick
the champs today, who's your choice?

Speaker 5 (01:21:09):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:21:10):
What is going on? Happy Sunday to you. We got
a little baseball for you in a little bit. But
first with golf, I'll give you a good observation and
a dumb observation. Let's start with dumb, shall we. This
guy Lee. Every time I see his name and it's
on the back of his hat, the l I I
just think super Bowl fifty one. That's all I can

(01:21:30):
think of, is the Super Bowl fifty one with my
guy Lee over here. But some observations that matter. Jeff
detailed this not too long ago, the ability of these
guys to save par. You saw this in just the
last couple of holes. Scottie Scheffler did it on six.
His t shot was awful, terrible, not even close. His

(01:21:52):
approach shot left a long par putt and he drained it.
And that also happened with Rory. Rory was on five.
I'd imagine you saw this, Jeff. He's literally he's got
an approach shot up the steep hill and he's jumping
up and down trying to see where the hole is.

(01:22:13):
Great approach shot saved par. Like these guys, they just
don't give up bogies easily. You know.

Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
Well, Chef was doing that now and trying to do
that now in the par five seven where he went
bunker and then he chipped it out and then he
hit a ball off the green and now he's got
a long par putt to save himself here on on
on five, and it's gonna be end up being for par.
Those guys did they just they save themselves. Man, it's
what they do so well. And it's very impressive when

(01:22:41):
they're able to to make this happen. So right now,
I mean, look, right now we're playing for second, which
is kind of wild. Got her up, English, Rory, Lee
are all at ten right now. And look I'm selfish
he rooting for Rory here because I got that plus
three thirty of him to finish second essentially, so hopefully
he can he can get it done. Now we'll have
three of four majors. Yous gotta get the US Open,

(01:23:04):
which is pretty tough each and every year, but on
trajectory to be one of the all time greats, pretty wild.

Speaker 5 (01:23:10):
Yeah, yeah, you have a great bet winner without Scottie
Scheffler plus one sixty eight. Wait a minute, plus went
to one plus eighty plus one eighty eight. But still
you have a good bet.

Speaker 4 (01:23:22):
You took three thirty.

Speaker 5 (01:23:24):
Thirty or something like that, three thirty plus one ninety.
Let's call it Rory McElroy winner without Scotty Scheffler over
on bet mgm closest to him is Fitzpatrick Ford to
one Lee Brian's guy at plus four fifty English plus
four fifty. Anyway, Yeah, so you have a you have
a good bet right now, so you know it's it's

(01:23:45):
actually interesting. I have to admit it. I probably didn't
realize they had that type of bet. A winner without
Scheffler up today, So then you can go like you said,
you can go hole by hole Shoffley versus Hatton, English
Verse got up Rory reverse pits Fitzpatrick and levers. Scheffler
also a hole by hole. So there's lots of ways

(01:24:05):
to bet this tournament still live. You could bet. Those
type of bets are tough, though I'd rather stick to
again the player verse player, I hate.

Speaker 4 (01:24:20):
Correctly double fifteen feet Yeah, no, it right here?

Speaker 5 (01:24:25):
What did he? I have this?

Speaker 4 (01:24:27):
I have the open app right now that that was it?

Speaker 5 (01:24:29):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
How hard? How far was that ball? Fifteen foot par
putt right in the right in the cup? So uh,
save par again on a par five? You talk about
the live the live Hollway during stuff. So twelve is
the easiest hol in the tournament. It's a par it's
a par five and today alone, okay, today alone, there's
been thirty five birdies on twelve. So I was looking

(01:24:53):
at at the at the if you were to guess
what a birdier better would be for like Rory on
on twelve, what would you put the number at right.

Speaker 3 (01:25:02):
Well, you would think just based on what you said,
it would be I'd say, like very like plus one
twenty or something.

Speaker 4 (01:25:09):
Oh no, no, no, birdie or better. It's like minus
three hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
Oh oh birdie or better.

Speaker 5 (01:25:13):
That's unbelievable. It's so Schoftley unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (01:25:18):
So Shoftley hold twelve birdier better minus three thirty. Wow,
par plus three twenty. I think I bet on parr
plus three part twelve on round one today. I mean
round one. That's an insane minus three thirty to get
a birdie or better in the open. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:25:36):
Yeah, that's pretty wild.

Speaker 5 (01:25:37):
Rat. That's just so hard to believe. I didn't see
that field. I didn't see that bet. That is crazy.
I could never lay that on something my way. I
know the situations. No, but even but you're saying the
courses is playing that way thirty some birdies are better.

Speaker 4 (01:25:51):
Today a life I still can't.

Speaker 5 (01:25:53):
Yeah, just today, I can't even. You know, one of
the best golfers in the world, I can't. I can't
do that.

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
That's the times crack where you know he just airmails
one wide left or you know what I mean, Like
you know, you're like, how can this go wrong? And
then you're reminded, Oh, that's how it can go wrong.
You know, you're you're rooting for Maceilroy over there, right, Jeff's.

Speaker 4 (01:26:13):
I just missed a birdie putt, but that's not a
birdie hole, So that's okay. Like I mean, you get
to you start studying these courses, right, you realize like
which holes are the ones guys get birdies on. So,
but it's been a very accessible today. Again the low scores.
I talked about this earlier to start the show. You
look at at right now. Bryson went seven under today, right,
Hadecki went five under. McGinley went five under, Lower went

(01:26:35):
five under. You know, guys in the course right now,
you know Scotty's three under, got her ups two under,
English is two under, Rory's two under, Connors is five under,
Showtley's two under. So a lot of those wagers I made.
I think I'm four. It look like I'm gonna I'm
on track to get four or five today.

Speaker 5 (01:26:52):
For for those those are score those score props shooting
in the sixties.

Speaker 3 (01:26:57):
The Schwartz syndicate.

Speaker 5 (01:26:59):
You know it was that easy.

Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
I I finished adding up the NBA playoffs and uh,
you wish it up. I wish I hadn't done it. Look,
it's I'll tell you what this is the important part, right,
Like it's good to track your wagers. It's good to
realize like where you're strong, well you're not. Sometimes you know,
it's good to to to do those so you get

(01:27:22):
an understanding of working. Like last NBA playoffs, I was good,
this one I was bad. Where did I mess up?
What did I do? Did I chase? I do too much? Sure,
So it's good to track on NBA playoffs. Was was
not pretty. It wasn't good till last day. I want
all my wagers in game seven, but it was it
was rough.

Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Rough for what you were like the shambo, you know,
rough start and then when you ended with the flurry.

Speaker 5 (01:27:44):
Yeah, what was he? Plus would say what you said
the first day plus seven is what you said?

Speaker 4 (01:27:49):
Yeah, seventy eight first day.

Speaker 3 (01:27:50):
Plus seven crazy, that's unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (01:27:53):
Plus seven. I mean think about that thirteen a thirteen
stroke makeup in one round of golf for someone that's
a pro like him. But uh, I will say uh,
when missus Schwartz is away, mister Schwartz will play he's
firing over there, all just him and the dog.

Speaker 4 (01:28:12):
That's right, he's right there there, he is right there.
Who's sleeping sleeping his way now here?

Speaker 5 (01:28:19):
I thought I was gonna, you know, I'm only a
few miles away from mister Schwartz. I was thinking, maybe
go meet her for lunch and say, listen, you gotta
loosen up here. He needs like two hundred You know,
I just was gonna sneak over there. But I guess
you know, she don't care. Now I can see it.

Speaker 4 (01:28:34):
I don't think she even knows what's happening. See. Uh,
I'm going to Vegas Tomorrow's we talked about for Big
ten Media. They hope to see you guys. They've got
to text about the data to go have dinner. And
she texted me this morning and said, uh, what time
you leave for New York tomorrow? And not not only
not only this, guys, but like we had talked about
her coming to Vegas to go see Backstreet Boys in

(01:28:56):
the Sphere on Friday nights. Right, we're not going because
it's expensive and the contrare actually looks fantastic, looks awesome.

Speaker 5 (01:29:02):
But the concert was great. But you're right, it's at
of control prices for Backstree Boys to say, I can't
believe it, like more than the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (01:29:10):
Yeah, so we're not we're not doing it. Okay. The
Battery Boys and Eagles are sort of in two separate
like the millennials with money or seeing the Battery Boys
now it's like like everyone like people. It looks like
the crowds just people my age. It's forty year old,
so that they were like have disposable money that want
to see the Battery Boys again. So, but you's not

(01:29:32):
coming to Vegas, I don't think. But we'll have dinner
one night, guys, hopefully on RUSS definitely.

Speaker 3 (01:29:36):
Yeah, there you go like on our heart. Yeah yeah,
all right, let me throw some baseball your way. So
the Crackmeister, the k Man, you know, he came up
to this topic and I love that. I gotta give
him some credit. So if you're looking at today, you
got to pick a team to win the World Series
eventually this year. Who's your pick? And why who are

(01:29:56):
you going with? Schwartz syndicate. You're firing on golf bets
hot four or five? Can you pick the World Series winner?
On what July twentieth?

Speaker 5 (01:30:05):
This week.

Speaker 4 (01:30:05):
It's still the Dodgers. I know they're struggling. They've won
I think one of the last eleven game or to
the last eleven games. I get that, But when it
comes to, you know, the things that that win in
the postseason, it's hard to look at them and think
they don't have it now. They still probably need to
add a pitching an arm at some point, a starter,
I would imagine that that's what they're looking for. But

(01:30:26):
if Otani can start lengthening out his appearances right and
get to maybe where he can pitch five innings in
a postseason game, it's a big benefit. Now it's hitting
is taking a little bit of a hit average wise
started pitching makes sense, but that's what it is.

Speaker 5 (01:30:39):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:30:39):
The Dodgers have the lineup, they have the depth. When
they get back healthy, they're gonna look a lot better.

Speaker 1 (01:30:45):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:30:45):
The Tigers, obviously, they're pitching has been good, but the
times have a lot of players that were unexpected good
are been unexpected good this year, which does worry me
come postseason time? Right, Brian, Like, you'ren't expectedly good?

Speaker 5 (01:30:58):
You know?

Speaker 4 (01:30:58):
Do you do that in the postseason? The Yankees are
just last night's game, I was on the Yankees. I
took off. See this is the benefit of doing radio
at certain times of the day, is you get lucky
sometimes I like the Yankees plus four fifty Live yesterday,
I got lucky. I just was on the radio. I
was paying attention to the game A lot of times.
Doesn't work that way, I will say. But the Yankees

(01:31:19):
are so like up and down right now. They need
pitching too, And I think that the trade deadline will
matter a lot. So to me, phill the Dodgers, maybe Phillies.
They're pitching it again. I favorite pitching the postseas. If
you ever noticed this, Phillis pitching is good. Like so
Phillies have a chance. Dodgers, Tigers if if they could pitch,
He continues the way it is. But that's that's sort

(01:31:41):
of my group of teams. I don't think there's a
team I know where this year. The Giants could hit
just a lick. Their pitching is fantastic, but they can't
hit at all, so that doesn't count. But really, teams
that could pitch I lean on those are the Dodgers
can pitch.

Speaker 5 (01:31:56):
Yeah, looking at the odds here on bet MGM, I
think two teams that still have some val You hear
the Blue Jays at twenty two to one, the Brewers
at twenty five to one.

Speaker 3 (01:32:05):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:32:05):
Granted these are peanut bets, but but you know, you
could throw something on those two. I think for a
little fun. Uh, these two teams have been two of
the best teams in all of baseball this last month.
Toronto three games up on the Yanks in the AO,
East Milwaukee only one game back from the on the
Cubs and then Central and I have won like nine
in a row, I believe. Oh, definitely a little value sprinkle.

Speaker 4 (01:32:30):
Wow. I took to the middle around four.

Speaker 3 (01:32:34):
Man, So Scotty shefferd he's got. He got rejected, you know,
like the sand trap went to camb bag Matumbo on
him as he was trying to get out of there.
It just went right back to where it was.

Speaker 5 (01:32:47):
So he's finished, he's done.

Speaker 4 (01:32:51):
But that's the first time he's looked like sort of
human for entire week.

Speaker 3 (01:32:55):
Yeah, no doubt about that. Yeah, So I'd go with
the Phillies. Yeah, Jeff, you mentioned that. The pitching staff
when you go one, two three with Wheeler Sanchez, you know,
Ranger Suarez, like these guys are like, all three of
them could have been All Stars. It's just the goofy MLB, like, hey,
are you available to pitch? You're not all right, we'll

(01:33:16):
screw you. Then I guess you're not a replacement All Star,
you know, but they're all worthy of being All Stars.
And when you have that as a one, two three,
you're working with something right there and with Schwarber, and
you've got some live bats in that that lineup, you know,
it's about pitching in the postseason. I like what the

(01:33:37):
Phillies bring to the table, and at nine to one,
I like that price too, So I'd go Phillies today
if I had to choose.

Speaker 4 (01:33:44):
I think you're on there again. I think you're on
the right path. I think that they have what you
need and what you have to win these wagers in
the past. And they also they have experienced in the postseason,
which I think does matter. And they got some big bats,
you know, Schwarburn Harper can can go deep anytime, which
is important in the postseason. So I I'm with you.

(01:34:05):
I like I think it's the Phillies are Dodgers in NL.
For me, I don't I don't see a surprise team
and the ali Ao feels open, right, I mean Blue
Jays again, Yankees, Tigers, the Astros feel like one pitcher away.
They can get one starter, you know at the time,
and they can hit. Probably got the rookie of the
year and Cam Smith. They got Brown thrown today. That

(01:34:28):
Brown Wu today should be a good game in Seattle
at four to ten. That might be a game I
target like a first three under in that contest. So
that's one. Has Wu pitched since the Yankees game? That
the no hitter through seven? I don't think he has.
I don't since then, so kind of you know, that
should be a fun game to watch later today.

Speaker 3 (01:34:48):
Yeah, by the way, what did you guys think of
the swing off in the All Star Game? Were you
fans of that?

Speaker 5 (01:34:54):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:34:55):
I was.

Speaker 4 (01:34:56):
I was sleep sleeping. Don't tell everybody I was. Come on, man,
I'm I There's many months to stay away till till
midnight coming up in a couple of weeks when crackhandsas
our first preseason NFL wager, and I'm watching the Raiders
and Seahawks play at two am to see if I
catch that thing. But uh, I thought it was pretty cool.

(01:35:17):
I will say I had a wager on uh Rooker,
that's his name, right, that the A's uh uh to
win MVP, and he had a three run home run
all right for the AL. I just don't think the
MVP of the All Star Game should be a war.
I'm not saying Rookers should have won. It probably was
Peter a Lonzo that should have won. Right for the
National League, he was a favorite. Is the MVP of

(01:35:39):
an All Star game that market should be available for
swing off?

Speaker 5 (01:35:42):
Like that?

Speaker 4 (01:35:42):
To me, I'm not. I can't wager on the market anymore. Crack.
I don't know about you, but I waited on the
market for what happened in the game, and then they
had a swing off and that was the MVP of
the All Star Game was the swing off champion.

Speaker 5 (01:35:54):
Essentially, Yeah, I am giant conversation.

Speaker 4 (01:35:58):
I'm gonna stay away from that market from from now on.
I know that some books graded as a win for
the NL. Some books great as a win for the
AL or a push or a draw. I get it
wasn't for the AL. They waited, as I know. Some
of that had minus one n L minus one that
lost their wager. So it's was all over the place.

Speaker 5 (01:36:19):
It was a big controversy on It was a big
copis on gambling Twitter. Some of the sports books graded
a push, some graded a win, and the swing off
was not included. It was a I gotta be blunt.
If you're a sports book, I'm sure Christian would say
this too. You want to have a decision either way.

(01:36:39):
You do not want to give refunds. I would think
they hated like the Pacquiao fight last day as a
draw where they have to give money back on both
sides if it's not a three way line. Yeah, books
don't want to have to give refunds. They wanted decision
so the way that was. I'm sure next year the
sports books will have some from rules and effects, not

(01:37:01):
even realizing that this could happen or it would happen.
But going back to the automated ball strike and love
this personally, I probably personally liked both. I think the
robot on replay system was actually pretty fast and didn't
hold up the game too long, and obviously is pretty efficient.
I was surprised because I was going into it with
a little bit of a different I'm an old school guy.

(01:37:22):
Balls and strikes touchy feely, But I tell you I
wouldn't mind having it available in playoff games, and.

Speaker 4 (01:37:30):
So they have it at minor league stadiums. They have
it here in Charlotte, like when the Knights play, and
they had it last year. I was actually the first
game randomly Nelflix started using in the middle of the season.
It's super efficient, like they just tapped at their head.
Ten seconds later you get to a game ball strike
and that's the end of it, like you don't notice
it happening. Really, it is a great system. They want

(01:37:50):
to use it in baseball again, a couple times a game.
You shouldn't be able challenge every call. I do think
you would make the game better. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:37:58):
I didn't mind it at all. It was fast.

Speaker 5 (01:38:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:38:00):
My whole thing is it's gotta be quick. Gotta be quick.
If it can be as close to tennis as possible, fine,
And the technology looked great. I mean they zoom in
on the zone and if it nicks the zone, they're like, man,
that's a strike. You know, I didn't mind it whatsoever.
All Right, We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz,
eight year NFL veteran, I'm Brian no use code countdown

(01:38:22):
at betmgm to receive up to fifteen hundred dollars back
in bonus bets if you don't win your first bet.
When you register with bet mgm, you'll get instant access
to a variety of parlay selection features, live betting options,
signature bets, and the best daily promotions in the business. Again,
use code countdown and you'll get up to fifteen hundred
dollars back in bonus bets if you don't win your
first bet. All right, coming up next, new details about

(01:38:45):
shady betting patterns. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented
by BETMGM. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by
bet MGM. You can stream this show and all of
our Fox Sports Radio shows four to seven and the
new and improved iHeartRadio app. Just search Fox Sports Radio
in the app to stream us live. And one of

(01:39:07):
the newest features in the app is that you can
select Fox Sports Radio as one of your presets. Just
liked presets on a radio dial, So be sure to
preset Fox Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app and it'll
always pop up at the top of your screen. Okay,
so we've got new details about shady betting patterns. This
is related to NBA player Terry Rosier, and the newest

(01:39:31):
information that we have is that a professional better placed
thirty wagers in forty six minutes. This is a game
in twenty twenty three. Scary Terry was with the Charlotte
Hornets at the time, and this professional sports better he
placed these thirty bets in Biloxi, Mississippi. I don't know
what it is with our live remotes. We were in Biloxi,

(01:39:53):
the three of us, and now there's something shady going
on here with these bets that were play So this
professional better he placed bets over thirteen thousand dollars worth
of bets. He had one that was over the counter.
It was a twenty seven hundred dollars wager on under
five and a half rebounds for Terry Rosier, and the

(01:40:16):
rest were at a kiosk. He made twenty nine other
bets at a kiosk, just throwing one hundred dollar bills
in there, one after another, and that's why it raised
red flax. That was one of the biggest parts of it.
In all, there were at least six sports books in
multiple states that detected suspicious betting activity on Rosier. Props
that day, and as it turns out, he had five

(01:40:39):
points four rebounds and two assists. He left with a
foot injury, and so it raises questions like who knew what?
How did they know what? The NBA has cleared Rosier,
but the federal investigation has not been closed yet. So
it's kind of interesting that the NBA is like, we
checked it out, we vetted the situation, it's all good.

(01:41:02):
Hopefully the Feds agree, but for them to jump the gun,
it's pretty interesting. And now these new details come out, So, uh.

Speaker 4 (01:41:11):
The thing that I get to see in like any
of this stuff, right is like, what, so who was
telling what?

Speaker 5 (01:41:17):
Like?

Speaker 4 (01:41:17):
Was Rosier telling people that he was gonna sit out?
We know that Jontay Porter was right, like that was
part of it. They have messages from him showing that
we don't even know in baseball right with the arty situation?
Who was he telling? How do people know these things?

Speaker 5 (01:41:33):
Like?

Speaker 4 (01:41:33):
How how did someone know to bet on his under?
Was he telling people this? Was it a third party
like that knew that? That's the question I have. Crack
is like, I get it. It seems pretty bad when
there's a lot of you know, money on a guy
like that and it goes under I get it, but
who was telling who the information? You know, did Rosier like, oh,
someone money? And that's the way the way it worked out.

(01:41:54):
I don't I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:41:55):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:41:56):
Like I'm curious how this played out.

Speaker 5 (01:42:00):
Listen, I'm kind of sick of hearing stories where these
quote unquote suspicious bets come in and of course they win.
What about the suspicious bets that come in by degenerate
gambler that comes in and starts firing on the kioskar,
the counter or whatever, and they lose and the sportsbook wins.
You don't hear about them. So give me a break.
Stop the crying. I really am. But this is just

(01:42:22):
another one of make stories where you think you know
these guys this stupid. I mean, it just goes to
show you how legalization the sports bet betting can bring
up something like this and bring it to light. We
know fore made thirty bets.

Speaker 4 (01:42:34):
I guess it's less about the sports book losing money.
I think I think that that's not really at all like.

Speaker 5 (01:42:41):
What happened on the other side.

Speaker 4 (01:42:45):
Well, I know, but I think again, I've made this
point before. You don't want to be watching a basketball
game thinking of players on the take, and that's why
the league take it so seriously. Right, you want to
obviously your players that you're watching, you want to believe,
you should believe that everyone's playing for the love of
the sport or obviously there's money involved here, but they're

(01:43:07):
you know, they're playing for the competition of the sport.
They're not doing anything because they have money on the game,
and that's why they take it so seriously. I don't
think anyone's crying for the sports books here. I just
think that you look at it from that perspective of it.
They're trying to figure this out for that reason.

Speaker 5 (01:43:22):
Jeff, I hate to say it like this, and I'm
usually pretty quiet and humble on this. I think I'm
I feel like I'm one of the biggest prop betters
in the world. I make as I want to get
down as much as I can at as many different
sports books on NFL player props, NBA player props. Of course,
I know what I can get me and my team,

(01:43:42):
my team, I know we can get down on an
NBA player prop. I'll just tell you, unless a sports book,
you have an individual limit because you're a sucker through
out the year, and you can pet ten twenty thous
on a player on a prop. I'll just tell you,
I find a lot of these stories so hard to believe.

(01:44:03):
I'm not saying maybe I'm tough because I don't like
hearing oh after the game's over. Oh fix fixed the
biggest three letter word in the sports books. So I
know you can get down on player pops. You have
guys making millions and millions and millions of dollars per year.
You're talking about literally some of these contracts that have
been mentioned with sports with prop bets or whatever. These

(01:44:24):
athletes are. I've signed to nine figure deals. They're going
to risk that to get down six seven, eight thousand dollars.
And by the way, how much of that is theirs
is going back to them if they're getting anything at all.
So it's just hard for me to believe they would
risk their careers for I think at Caesars said they
try not to pay the bets for less than fourteen

(01:44:46):
thousand dollars. First of all, seasons are the sports book
that threw me out for winning. So I'm sorry to
throw the under the bus, but I will. I'm not
allowed to play there for one thing, using my brain,
so I don't want to know. I'm not crying for
those cazears. I'm sorry, I'm now I'm in a bed
mod I was in a good way morning.

Speaker 3 (01:45:00):
Hey God, I hear you crack. I get it. Where
I think a lot of people will look at a
story like this and say, Terry Rozier is making millions
and millions of dollars, Why on earth would he risk
millions of dollars for a few thousand dollars? And he
might not be guilty at all. I know that this
story overall doesn't pass the smell test. That doesn't mean

(01:45:21):
he's guilty. But the point I'm trying to make is
it doesn't have to make sense for someone to do
something wrong, you know what I mean, Like we're looking
at it, A lot of people do like, why would
It doesn't make any sense. It doesn't need to. There
are a lot of times. Yeah, men do things that
make no sense whatsoever.

Speaker 5 (01:45:39):
That's true. Good point.

Speaker 3 (01:45:41):
And if you think that you're gonna get away with it,
I mean, then you've got motive.

Speaker 4 (01:45:46):
Yeah, it is worth pointing out. I just saw Trevor
Reza I was in the news the former Laker and
actually playing against some high school multiple times. He went
to Westchester with to Pali, were playing against each other
for years. Is uh, he is like broke. He's made
one hundred million dollars and his assets are like seven million.
That includes six million of that just basically his property.

(01:46:07):
So we don't know, we don't know how much money.
So that's the thing about you know, somebody that the
story about Malik Beasley, I mean, god, was was broke right,
he was loading it loans, didn't pay back his loans,
so I might look crreck. I'm with you on the
idea that that we're not crying a river for the
sports books here. I just want to say that I

(01:46:27):
understand why leagues are going hard at players that can
call down sports well drown.

Speaker 3 (01:46:32):
You have to believe what you're watching is really correct correct.
That's the whole thing. Yes, And that's the last thing
I'll say about it is and you brought this up, crack, like,
how stupid are you to put this amount of money down?
You know you can't get that much action on these
prop bets. That's my thing.

Speaker 4 (01:46:50):
They don't know, they're they're unaware of it because they
don't actually get if you were right profess.

Speaker 3 (01:46:54):
It's a professional better. You can't be a pro and
not be aware of that.

Speaker 4 (01:46:58):
Are we sure there's profession better like actually, like someone
like Crack or someone like you know, there's an article
that came out about a professional better. I'm sure Crack
saw you know that one of these like influencer professional
better types. Is that really a professional better in the
sense that like we think a professional better is.

Speaker 5 (01:47:16):
So influencers aren't no, no, right, they're full of it.

Speaker 4 (01:47:20):
And a lot of times they're beards for other people
as well. So, but like it might not actually be
a quote unquote like person like Crack who's in a
syndicate like it. It could just be a guy who
says he's professional better but he's not really, So I don't.

Speaker 5 (01:47:33):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (01:47:34):
But if you're forking down thirteen thousand dollars, you're pretty
serious A definitely like you're one real fixlare you're one
rich square if that's what you're doing right or you
know the fixes in But the point is you would
you would think someone would know better that you're not
gonna be able to get that much done money down
and it not go undetected. It's like if if you're

(01:47:57):
driving on the highway and the speed limit is seventy
and you're going eighty, you're probably good. If you're going
eighty five day, you're pushing it a little bit, but
you might still be good. If you're going one hundred
and twenty, you're not gonna get away with that. I
don't understand these people that put all this money down
when they should know there's no way this is gonna
go undetected. You just gotta be smarter than that. That's

(01:48:20):
like trying to rob a bank with no mask, Like, what,
why would you think that's gonna work?

Speaker 5 (01:48:26):
It's not you.

Speaker 4 (01:48:27):
Yep. Men are dumb and they do they do dumb things.
They think they they know better. They're not gonna get caught.
The one thing about legalized sports wagering that we've seen
is that it has really it has really done a
good job of catching these people, right, And to think
you're not gonna get caught, I think it's pretty foolish.

Speaker 3 (01:48:45):
No doubt, absolutely all right. Someone who is not foolish whatsoever,
that'd be Isaac Lohenkron. He would never never rob a
bank without a mask, you know, I would make sure
take the proper precautions or there I low with the latest.
What's going on, buddy?

Speaker 8 (01:49:02):
It is interesting because I've just learned that a better
has placed thirty bets over the last forty six minutes.
That I will mispronounce a name during this report. So
we'll see how it goes. Starting with the final round
of the Open Championship and Scotty Sheefler oops, I mean
Scotty Scheffler holding the lead moments ago, had a birdie

(01:49:24):
putt on the ninth hole.

Speaker 5 (01:49:26):
Scotty Scheffler suddling into this one now just outside of
ten feet. This would be a bounce back of swords
because it was a double bogie in the last for Sheffler.
He's made it wow, very well done.

Speaker 3 (01:49:37):
Indeed, in full credit to Scotty Sheffler.

Speaker 8 (01:49:40):
His lead is now at five. He led earlier in
the final round by as many as seven.

Speaker 3 (01:49:45):
But as you heard, he had a double bogie on
the eighth hole.

Speaker 8 (01:49:49):
It was the first bogie of any kind that Scheffler
had had in his last thirty three holes, so that
had cut his lead down to four strokes. But now
with that birdie moments ago on the ninth hole. He
is up by five. It's sixteen under par overall. Chris
got her Up and Lee how Tong are tied for

(01:50:10):
second place. They are both at eleven under par overall.
Got Her Up today is three under through ten. Rory
McElroy six shots back today. He is two under through
nine holes again in the final round of the Open Championship.
And one NFL note. Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell
announcing this morning the defensive tackle Levi own Zerique had

(01:50:33):
surgery to repair a torn acl and is going to
be out for this season.

Speaker 3 (01:50:37):
Guys, back to you, Thank you, I lo. It is
Fox Sports Radio's Countdown, presented by BETMGM. Shortly after the show,
our podcast will be going up. If you missed anything
on today's show, be sure to check it out. Just
search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts. Be
sure to also follow, rate and review it again. Just
search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts, and
you'll see the show posted right after we get off

(01:50:58):
the year you Know It dawned on man I thought
about this before the show as his Jeff is groaning
with the McElroy oof, is this a double bogie?

Speaker 5 (01:51:07):
Not good?

Speaker 2 (01:51:07):
Good.

Speaker 5 (01:51:08):
Not good.

Speaker 3 (01:51:08):
With the doubles over.

Speaker 4 (01:51:09):
There, the plus three just evaporated. Oh god, I'm glad.

Speaker 3 (01:51:15):
I'm glad that we haven't heard what I would say
is a stupid take, but I'm surprised we haven't heard
it yet. Where if you look at the Lions right,
you just Ilo was talking about a defensive tackle that's
as a torn ACL. He's out right, I'm surprised you
haven't heard the lazy take of man Dan Campbell. He's

(01:51:36):
like the Tom Thibodeau of the NFL. You know, no
wonder all of his guys are getting hurt left and right.

Speaker 5 (01:51:41):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
I don't agree with that whatsoever. Football is a different sport.
Like the injuries sometimes have you get hit by the
injury bug doesn't necessarily mean it's because of the head coach.
I'm just surprised we haven't heard that yet where someone
just throws out the lazy take as if this is
Dan Campbell's fault. All these injuries are are piling up
right like, Well, I'm glad.

Speaker 4 (01:52:03):
It's expected that football players get hurt, that's why, right,
I mean, it's and like a guy Terry, his ACL
is probably not the coach's fault unless something specifically happened
that they were doing. I haven't seen a report of
when he heard his a CL, which is the obviously
that's part of the discussion because you know, if if
he hurt his ACL doing something that they should be

(01:52:24):
doing or something that's a little bit aggressive, if it's
a conditioning test, that that does worry me. If that's
how it happened, which maybe this time of year conditioning
test is the thought. I don't I don't know exactly
how he would have heard it, but you know, how
how it happens is worth discussion about why we think
Gil it's too much.

Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
Yeah, it's It's just like every injury was attributed to Tibbs.
I remember, I can't remember if it was the Bulls
or wherever he was. There was a player that suffered
an upper body injury, like he was running through a
screen and jacked up his shoulder or something. They're like
and the lack of load management. It's like, it's an
upper body injury. What are we doing at this point?

(01:53:06):
It's like every injury is attributed to Tibbs, whether it's
fair or not. And I'm glad that Dan Campbell hasn't
received the same treatment with some you know wackad do
saying that. But I'm a little bit surprised we haven't
heard that. It seems like like the bad take is
just sitting right there for someone to grab it.

Speaker 5 (01:53:25):
And Brian, your stock goes way up. You just used
a word that I thought only me that the wackuld
do in myself uses wackud do. I got that line
thirty some years ago from the Popagranage Village almost forty
years ago, and I use it all the time. Just
to tell you, guys, bet MGM Lions to make the
playoffs minus two to one. I still like my bet

(01:53:47):
here at BETMGM Minnesota Vikings to make the playoffs minus
a dollar fifteen. Yes, I like that bet. I think
I told you guys I may have had that as
one of my bets earlier in the season. Surprised it
didn't move. I took like a dollar ten, but I
also recommended laying to pick them and still had to

(01:54:08):
move that much. So uh, that that is one bet.
I like, we're gonna see, Oh, they're opening Monday Night
football not getting any respect still, well, at least the
last time I looked, bet MGM had them as the underdog.
Uh in that game? Uh plus one and a half points.
I even like those pick them. I like Minnesota, They're

(01:54:29):
they're on the road here. Yeah, the line has not moved.
And I bet I bet a war bond on this
game already. H Vikings plus one and a half? Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:54:39):
Is that a little more than a sawbuck over there?

Speaker 5 (01:54:41):
Crack? That's a good. That's a it's a good. It's
a good amount of money on.

Speaker 3 (01:54:44):
The right there, you know, triple saw and.

Speaker 4 (01:54:50):
Yeah, the Vikings roster guys is really good. It's a
very good team. It's just a matter of McCarthy. If
McCarthy can play even a tiny bit, they're gonna win
a lot of football games this season. There's like last year.
I mean you look at wide receiver, offensive line, running back,
pass rusher, defend, like all the things that you would
look at for like success, like Brahmers for good coaching staff. Right,

(01:55:13):
it's a tough division. I get it, but man, what
what it's a good If you can play a tiny bet,
they're going to be really really good this year. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
Another interesting line depending on where you're shopping, like Lions Packers,
it's around Packers minus one and a half minus two
right around that area. That is a great Week one
matchup Lions at the Packers. We're getting things started in
the NFC North immediately and you can't wait to see

(01:55:44):
that one. That's gonna be really fun. All right.

Speaker 5 (01:55:45):
We've got one and a half at bet MGM. Yeah,
there we go, Green Bay one and a half.

Speaker 3 (01:55:50):
We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight
year NFL veteran. I'm Brian No coming up next, Rapid Fire.
We just have one selection for you. Cracks got his
play of the day as well, so we'll throw some
pictsure away. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by
bet MGM. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by

bet MGM. Score bigger at bet MGM when you win

and also our producer Shay. Dual producers today. That's how big,
that's how gigantic the show was today. Dual producers, fantastic chop,
technical producer extraordinary Chris Purfett, crushing the updates and crushing life.
That would be Isaac Low and Kron And props to
our guy Sager on digital posting our clips on social media.

(01:56:53):
Appreciate his hard work. Top of the hour. What we
got today, We got a little Dan byer action and
Adam Kaplan I think is in the building.

Speaker 5 (01:57:02):
So very nice.

Speaker 3 (01:57:03):
Keep you locked here on Fox Sports Radio. They come
your way in less than ten minutes. All right, we
got some picks to make.

Speaker 5 (01:57:09):
Let's do it.

Speaker 4 (01:57:13):
Rapid fire.

Speaker 3 (01:57:15):
All right, crack, we start with you with something you like.

Speaker 5 (01:57:18):
Okay, Let's go with baseball Philadelphia and La Angels over nine,
even at bet MGM over nine, even at bet MGM
Angels Phillies. Right, I like that.

Speaker 4 (01:57:34):
Okay, let me put this in the and we write
this down here to make sure I get that one.
Give me the Mariners Astros today, good pitching matchup, under
one and a half runs first three innings plus one
ten Okay Brown.

Speaker 3 (01:57:49):
Yes, yeah, Yeah, what's the total, like six and a
half for the kids team?

Speaker 4 (01:57:54):
It's nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:57:54):
Yeah, that does seem like, you know, three to one
is written all over it or something like that. Seems
like the younger is gonna hit there. I'll go to
the Summer League. You know, give me the Hornets. Give
me the Hornets. I think they're gonna win, but I'll
take the it's even money plus one and a half.
I'll take the point. It's only the difference of five cents,

(01:58:15):
but hey, sometimes that makes all the difference in the world.
So I'll take the Hornets plus a point and a
half in the Summer League final. That's the championship game
here late tonight. That's ten o'clock Eastern your time there, Jeff.
It nappened before the final of the Summer League.

Speaker 4 (01:58:32):
You know, playing well though, it's the best thing the
Horns have done in the years, So i'll they can
finish out strong today. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:58:38):
Absolutely, me too. The props aren't out yet. Maybe a
kJ Simpson assists prop maybe keep your eye on that's right, absolutely, yeah,
but keep your eyes peeled for that. kJ Simpson. All right,
we got cracks play of the day. Let's do this.
This is the best play of the day, allars man,

(01:59:02):
alrighty crack, what is it?

Speaker 4 (01:59:05):
All right?

Speaker 5 (01:59:05):
I actually got a couple of things for you guys.
So let's start out with the Arizona Diamondbacks first five
over Saint Louis, sorry, Brian minus a dollar fifty five
that I'll start out with that first. But I want
to give a bonus play out here because I don't
like people to tie their money up. I know they
hate tying up for the whole season over at MGM
Atlanta Falcons regular season wins under eight and a half

(01:59:30):
minus a dollar fifty five.

Speaker 4 (01:59:33):
Problem with I love it.

Speaker 5 (01:59:34):
Yeah, I bet bet a big amount of money on
this about two months ago, only moved about fifteen cents,
So I have no problem with you betting this now
under eight and a half. And this way you don't
have to type your money for you know, two months.
Take two months out of the equation there. I love
doing that personally under Atlanta Falcon just a bonus bet.

(01:59:55):
But yet I'll put more money on that then I'll
put on any baseball better my futures. I will literally
uh fire big time on them. So there's an extra
bonus fectal for you.

Speaker 4 (02:00:07):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (02:00:07):
Nice, very nice. Okay, anti Falcons, Anti rise up from
you guys. Huh, you don't like it either, Jeff? You
like the under there?

Speaker 4 (02:00:15):
Yeah, I'm I'm hind in the pants. I think I
think Panthers are over Falcons under I've been on the
Panthers over. I think Panthers. Actually a finish second division
is like plus two forty. I like that one as well.

Speaker 5 (02:00:25):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (02:00:26):
Yeah, so it's more like a pro Panthers thing. You're
not like just like down on Panics or I don't
know what else.

Speaker 4 (02:00:33):
And I just I don't like Elena's process either, so
I'm always out on on the that that as well.

Speaker 3 (02:00:38):
Yeah, new pass rush though, right, a couple of new.

Speaker 4 (02:00:42):
Pass rush they have they gotta play well though. They're
young pass.

Speaker 3 (02:00:45):
Rush, yeah, very young, and they pick up the vet
Leonard Floyd. But yeah, a couple of first rounders has
fun stuff today, all right? He enjoy Open Championship. Let's
get a dinner soon. Jeff and Vegas the Schwart Syndicate
live in the Flash.

Speaker 10 (02:01:00):
Nice
