on out and about. I am still thinking about the
way this NBA season ended, and the number one thing
I kept hearing is it seemed like half the stars
in the league had popping Achilles tendons. I hear all

that that AAU circuit, and they just get going where
they're they're playing too much basketball year round. And then
right before I sit down to do a show with
my man Eve from Salam, what am I getting? I'm
getting pictures from the middle of July with your wonderful offspring.

Apparently the doctors tell me he's supposed to be sitting
and resting right now from But where are you? Tell
everybody where you are right now? I'm in Las Vegas, okay?
And why because there's a couple of reasons.

But the one you're referring to is my son, who's
my basketball player, my eleven year old and his eleven
year old cousin, My brother's son. I had the privilege,
the privilege and the pleasure of being on the ball
crew for the summer league this summer, okay. And so

it's so funny because in the pictures I sent you
that was happening now a game between the Celtics and
the Hawks. And this morning, when he found out that
he would be out there with the Celtics, he wanted
to put on his Laker Kobe Bryant socks. So just
so they this is him, just so they understand. Just

working here. I'm not a fan.

So I love your kid, I love your kids, and
I love well, but I love the kids and professional athletes.
Because you want to talk about somebody not letting their
eyes turn into silver dollars, somebody who's been around it
a little bit growing up. You said he's eleven. Is
that what you said? Yeah, he's eleven. Eleven years old.
How many kids eleven years old are told you're about

to head out of the court with the Celtics and
the Hawks. Most eleven year olds I know would be like,
oh my god, But your kid is like better let
him know, Dad, better, let them know.

I mean it's been who've been there since the seventeenth
and so he's just been in it. He's enjoying it,
and I wanted to he gets to see how hard
these young men work. And this isn't an NBA roster.

guys playing in the summer league won't be on a
ne be A roster in a couple months. And so
just seeing how these young men who've had great college careers,
some in the G League, some played overseas, are out
here competing every day, it kind of shapes what his
work ethic, what he has to put into the game.

Even now at eleven, I said, and look, man, you're eleven. Now,
in six seven years, you're gonna be eighteen nineteen.

These kids are eighteen nineteen.

Out here, So what is what is the level of
work that you want to put in in that short
amount of time? And I always tell him in comparison,
the first time I ever played football was in the
ninth grade. Ever, eight years later I was starting in

the Super Bowl, yep. And so that window, which seems
like a lot relatively speaking, is a blink of an eye.
So how people ask me all that, Well, how did
you get yourself for in eight years to start it
in the Super Bowl?

And did you put your head down and go to work?

this MORNING i was in the game at the gym
watching him. Play, uh and then we hustled on over

When you get all or even most or a room
full of the people who mean the absolute most to
you in. Life like that kind of happens at weddings and. Funerals,

know like my boys AND i may all go on a,
trip but like my parents and my sister and, right

they're not going to be. There like when you can
have all of them in the room at the same,
time that's a pretty emotional, thing no matter what it
is you're. Celebrating and so we have literally felt that this,

attached to that is a film. Festival Uh so THE
Nba Summer League Film festival where uh players they've acted
in and in some of the films and documentaries sometimes
it's about. Them Tony allen had a tremendous one with

The grizzlies Called The. Grind The grindfather telling his story was.
Unbelievable but they were about you, know sixty, submissions and
they came. Over they were talking to us about combining
forces and really shining a spotlight on this already terrific film,
festival and we jump right on the, end, uh because

we're in that business sports. Docs we had a chance
to premiere our doctor we have Called kings Of vegas
about The Running. Rebels, yes that, team The national championship,
Team tark and all the, Guys agman AND. Lj, hunt
all of those. Guys it's been tremendous. Uh and so

we partner with them and with that we got a
little bit of access as one of these sponsors of
the co sponsors of the film, festival and, they you,
know reached out and asked if our youngins wanted to
be part of the ball crew and they were over the,

Grandmama Stacey Augman Anderson, HUNT i mean like that for,

best college TEAM i ever, saw it's more just kind
of the iconic nature of. It for, me those are
the two teams THAT i will someday lay down for

eight where if a kid was coming out of high
school and he didn't have his grades, up they can

team but they can get their grades up and then
the next year be a part of.

THAT i don't even know if you can do that,
anymore but it was it was giving kids an opportun,
unity uh to better. Themselves and you got to, Remember
duke was the class of the, class, Right so you
have The Duke, institution which was.

Basketball and then you have these thugs quote unquote who
are just, uh you, know arrogant and. Right look and
just getting to talk to him and being in this

came through the television.

the perception of college. Basketball and then shortly after that

yes it. Resonated it resonated with a large portion of
the country because now we a lot of kids saw

themselves in that. Space now you look at the landscape
of basketball now you know and and and and all
of the the NI o money and uh may have
may or may not have been some n I o
money back, then but just watched the. Doc you'll see,
that you, know you'll see you get you get all
