Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh let's do this a day closer to the start
of the college and pro football seasons and more drama
than you could fit into a three hour program. Welcome
in boarded a border, coast to coast, everywhere you could
possibly imagine, thanks to the iHeartRadio app and all of
our amazing affiliates. Welcome to the Plank Show right here

(00:27):
on Fox Sports Radio. It is a big night for
Mark and I because Bree is back. Welcome back, Brianna Murrow.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Thank you so much. I'm so excited to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yeah, we missed you. We missed you last week. Don't
give you now.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It shows you just how incredible of a job that
you do, because it took two people throughout a three
hour show to replace you.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Now that's and that's a new thing for me. I'm
not gonna lie. It took two.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Separate people to replace you on the show last week.
But we're back just in time, or you're back just
in time. I guess I should say to really truly
get in the weeds of practice reports.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
I mean, we're getting this.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I saw two more players to add to the best
shape of their career list are looking better than they've
ever looked for tonight's program, so that's always exciting. Had
we had a football game on Thursday night, which I
would imagine probably leads to some knee jerk reactions, right
whenever you have one game and you got drama aut

(01:30):
the Wazoo and Cowboys camp right now. But I'm just
glad you're back in time to talk about all this stuff.
Did you have a good weekend? Did Dad have a
good birthday? All good, all.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Good, all sun and Dandy. It was a good time.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
He's sixteen.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
This was such a weird week.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I don't know if it was necessarily a longer week,
but it just felt like it was. I was sitting
here tonight getting ready for the show, and I was
listening to the end of Jason and Mike Show, and
I'm like, wait, was this week the week that Jayson
got back from vacation? Was this Like everything was running
together this week. It was one of the wildest weeks

(02:06):
I think I've had personally in a while, just because
you know, colleges across country.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Really got back at it this week.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
This was the first week for most schools with practice
and camp and you get so excited about it that again,
everything just hits fast forward once we reach the first practice.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Right.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
For instance, Oklahoma, I live in Oklahoma.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I do the show live every Friday night into a
Saturday morning from the beautiful metropolis of Goldsby, Oklahoma, which
is just a sco shoutside of Norman, the home of
the twenty twenty five SEC champion Oklahoma Sooners call my
shot now.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
So with that in mind, we wait and wait and wait.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
The longest off season in all of sports is college
and pro football. You know, like the NBA. I saw
you tweet something today. The Clippers have already had their
media day? Is that was that for this upcoming season?

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Already? Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Media day? I think it was more like a like
some kind of photography.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
I mean, yeah, regardless of what it is.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Regardless of what it is, they're already putting together plans
for the twenty twenty six, twenty five, twenty six season.
Right like the parade for the Thunder just got over,
and then you had the draft and then free agency.
The next thing, you know, it's like, all right, well,
the season's here. Hockey incredibly short postseason, base off season,
Baseball really no off season at all anymore. It's like,

(03:31):
all right, we're gonna get We're gonna stretch this world
series out. You guys, remember mister October. Well, we're not
gonna get done till November. And guess what, We're gonna
be back in spring training by February, so you all
enjoy that month and a half, two months you might
get off football. College football, I mean they get done
in I guess now it's reached the point where you

(03:51):
get done in February for the NFL, and now mid January,
late January for college football, and then you don't get
a damn thing until August, and you're just kind of
sitting around and waiting. What's the great gift that our
buddy Shady Sean always tweets a guy that's just kind
of walking around with his hands in his pocket, nowhere
to go.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
That's how you feel waiting for the start of football.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
And so this week, I guess, early in the week,
just waiting for Thursday to get here, you're just kind
of just kind of standing around, walking around with your
hands in your pocket, waiting. It's like, is this uh,
is this thing gonna happen? What's uh, what's going on
here in Boom. You hit Monday and the next thing
you know, you fast forward and it's Wednesday and it's

(04:33):
game on. So I'm fired up for the start of
college football. We have the start I guess you could
say the NFL season. I think every every single football
addict like myself had tweeted somewhere that it's our last
Thursday without college football until our football until twenty twenty
six or something ridiculous like that. Ar excuse me, Yeah,

(04:54):
twenty twenty six. But we do have baby steps and
we have a lot. In some ways it's right around
the corner, and in other way is a true long way.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
To go right for it.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Let me give you, for instance, you are going to
hear endless amounts of reports across college and pro camps
about a guy that's having a standout camp, looks better
than they've ever looked in their life. But what do
you need as a fan before that's proven to you.
You've got to see it on the field in a game. Now,

(05:24):
the NFL has an advantage over college because you have
the preseason, But in that same vein, you're not ever
gonna get too carried away about anything in the preseason.
Why Because we are smart, we're educated people. We're not dummies.
No one right now is talking about dumping their quarterback
to go out and get Trey Lance. Why because we've
been there, We've done that, We've seen it, we've lived it.

(05:46):
So I'm fired up. My word of caution, I feel
like I've opened every show I've done this week is
everybody just kind of stage chill with some of the
practice reports. I mean, you got Browns fans that because
you have people charting completions and attempts at Browns camps
for quarterbacks are like on the ledge because of how

(06:07):
poorly qbs are playing. And we haven't even played one
exhibition game yet for the Cleveland Browns. So again, we're smart,
we know better. Everybody just calmed down. We're gonna get
to the season and we're gonna really find out who's who.
But I give all that disclaimer to say, and Brie,
I think you're probably in the same category.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Mark two. I fall.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
I love every single report that's out there right I
saw I was thinking about you when I was getting
ready for the show tonight.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
There was a piece I think.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
It was on Pro Football Talk where Spencer Rattler came
out and said, I feel like I'm the best quarterback
right now in camp like these little things. And you know,
Kellen Moore doesn't say too much because I think he's
gonna be He's gonna be a tough nut to crack.
He's not gonna give you too much information. But when
you hear stuff like that, Bri, it fires you up,
doesn't it. It's like, Yeah, that's my guy taking leadership,

(06:57):
taken ownership, let's go.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Especially because I'm on the Spencer Rattler bandwagon. Sure, I
was really happy to see that. I was like, oh,
I like the confidence.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
So Number one is just emerging ourselves and enjoying the
incredible news out there. Number two, I guess in this
whatever number tiered lettered countdown to the start of the
season is we're just getting started with the drama in Dallas,
and this allows every single team that feels like they

(07:27):
have a bad ownership or a bad front office setup
to kind of look at Dallas and go, well, hey man,
at least at least or not that I mean even
Cincinnati right now after what Mike Brown tried to do
and the Trey Hendrickson saga. I guess more with Mike
Brown was a Shamar Stewart which ended up breaking last Friday.
So I have a soft I've come to realize this,

(07:52):
and this is like confession time here on The Plank Show.
I've come to realize this. I am. I'm not necessarily
a Jerry Jones. Apologies, but I always feel like I've
covered him enough now and I've talked about him enough
now that I get what he's trying to do.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
And you ever, this is funny.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I'm gonna make this comparison in the Christian Wilkins saga.
But you ever have a friend that always kind of
jacks around and there's finally a point where you're like, okay,
too much, you went too far. Maybe they're always kind
of pushing you, or maybe they're slugging you. See, I
don't have any friends because my wife eliminated all my friends.
So she's my best friend by process of elimination, her elimination.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
So the thing, we're a scare family.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Right, My daughter, my sixteen year old, and I we
like to scare each other and it's always kind of
on the ledge of it's funny until it's not right.
And we've reached a point probably like three years ago
where it became it's no longer funny with mom, And
when you do it with mom, it's going to become
a three day fight, right, just you play too much

(08:58):
and inevitably.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Get burned by it. I feel like that's what's happened
with Jerry Jones.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
He's a friend that either just keeps using his knee
to hit the back of your knee. It's like, hey
uses the golf cart to run over you, or I
don't know, yells in your backswing to mess with you.
If you're a golfer, kicks your foot out from underneath,
you know, does the thing where if you are out
at a happy hour or something, not like I get
to go to that memories, but you might be drinking
a long neck and they'll take the bottom of your bottle.

(09:26):
They'll slam it on the top of that beer. That's right, Jerry,
and it makes your beard just overflows. You're like, oh,
look at this fools beer's spelling. It's like what Jerry's done.
He's played too much and finally it's bit him, or
at least we think it has.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Because listen, guys.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
I'm old enough to remember when Miles Garrett was never
gonna play for the Browns again. And you don't have
to go back too terribly far. You have to go
back to February, and Miles Garrett had the page a
little bit more aesthetically friendly the Michael Parson's decision on
how he released his trade demand tonight, But Miles Garrett

(10:06):
had a very impressive looking, well written letter thanking Cleveland
and saying goodbye to the Browns.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
That was, in fact I wrote it down.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
That was on February third of twenty twenty five, when
Miles Garrett requested a trade. By March ninth, he was
signed to the richest deal ever given to an agressure.
So I want to spend some time tonight getting into
this story because it's it's the Cowboys. Maybe for some
fan bases it makes you feel better. For we have

(10:35):
a great affiliate in Dallas in sports Radio thirteen ten
the Ticket. So there are millions and millions of listeners
around the Dallas metro area that you know, just like
that buddy and keeps messing with you. They're tired of
Jerry's stuff. And it's not just a short term thing.
It's a long term thing. But in as obnoxious as

(10:56):
maybe combative in in putting your foot in your mouth
at the wrong time kind of way that Jerry has been.
What's the one thing that has still happened at every
single one of these moments for the Cowboys. They still
get their guy, They still pay the man the money.
So to me, you know, this is and it's not

(11:17):
the only contract situation that's currently going on in the NFL.
Right We've got our eyes on on DC where you
did Terry McLaurin the Man of Trade or not? Is
is this as as rough as it might seem right now?
So you look at the NFC East and there's a
couple of major players that right now you look at
the contractual situation and you wonder are they going to

(11:38):
be a part of it? But to me, you know,
this week has been fun because of all the practice reports,
fun because of the drama in Dallas, and then third
and maybe probably at.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Least since there was only one game.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
When we're talking about the NFL, you finally have a
little bit of evidence, right You finally have a very
small sample size and we didn't see anybody that's probably
gonna end up playing all that much in the opening
weekends of the season. Or even probably the next few
preseason games. But I mean, at the very least. I mean,

(12:11):
I don't know about you, Bree, but I watched all
four quarters on Thursday night. Now was some of it
really painful to watch, you bet? And I'm not just
talking about the horrible sideline interviews. The thing that stands
out to me is, you know, you finally get that
little bit of evidence. As slight as it might be
for college fans, it might be a practice video for
maybe even more than it might be a few beat

(12:32):
riders getting an opportunity to watch practice, we finally have
a very small sample size of evidence. And that's I
think that's what we all want. We just want to
get an idea if our teams are gonna be good
or not.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
So it's been a long week, but one that once
we hit about Wednesday, maybe even Thursday, it seemed like
it hit an accelerator blue them.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Here we go. Next thing. You know, you blink and
it's gonna be Monday, because.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
That's what happens during football season, and this is that
last weekend that you have without football, because you're gonna
get exhibition game preseason games that are gonna dominate the
headlines next weekend you're gonna get I mean, week zero
for the college football season is what three weeks away
because you get started with Iowa State and Kansas State.
Great name for a rivalry game, phar mcgeddon You get

(13:20):
that in week one or we week zero, which for
some reason college football now calls week.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
One, because I mean, why not? But it's here, baby,
it's here.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
So tonight I would love to talk some NFL and
college football with you at eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six three
six nine, And Brie, there is one other thing that
we need to go ahead and take care of tonight,
because a couple of weeks ago you had brought up
an idea to dive into a couple of I guess

(13:53):
you could say bits before we get to the season,
and one of this has really really resonated with me,
and that is the overhyped team this offseason. Now, we
did a little bit of this last week, We did
a little just a skoch of it last week, but
I feel like now's the time right if we're going

(14:15):
to talk about overhyped teams, this is that moment where
you can really dive into it, because, Buddy, the hype
train is going to reach an infinite level of juice
over the next few weeks whenever we get more preseason games,
more practice video.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Are any teams practicing together.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Starting this week in the NFL? I mean we're getting
towards that point too. I feel like an overhyped offseason
team conversation is just Taylor made for hour two.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
What do you think?

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Yeah, I'm ready for that.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
A lot of candidates too, right, a lot of candidates.
We'd be remissed, though, with my football mind and my
overbearing addiction to football, if we didn't mention the craziness
in Major League Baseball tonight here in an opening segment,
as we welcome you into The Plank Show Live from
the Fox Sports Radio studios with Bri and Markham, Chris Plank, I.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Don't know if we've seen anything like it, and that's
just one.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Game one game one, and that's the Pirates and the Rockies.
First of all, I don't know what the traffic situation
is like after Rocky games. I'm sure it's been done
for a while, but kudos to the fans who stayed around.
Have you watched any of the highlights yet, Brie on
any of the eighty TVs that are in studio.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
I just saw just the walk off. That's all I saw.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
How are there still that many fans in the stadium? Crazy?

Speaker 2 (15:38):
First of all, the Rockies stink, They're not a very
good team. They're playing the Pirates, which isn't necessarily a
great draw. And they give up nine runs in the
first inning. And that was the crowd that was still around.
I mean, bravo Rockies fan. They become the first team
in Major League Baseball history too allow fifteen or more runs,

(16:03):
allow a nine or more run inning, face a nine
or more run deficit, and yet still win the game.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Still win the game. How And today was a.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Wild day in Major League Baseball because it's just the
second time in Major League Baseball in the modern era
of Major League Baseball. We're not going back to the
eighteen hundreds on this one. We're not going back to
all crazy shoes McGhee on this one. But today marks
the second time in the modern era that three different

(16:42):
Major League Baseball games had twenty five or more combined
runs on the same day. The other time that happened
June twenty third of nineteen thirty, nineteen thirty. How I
mean it, not only do you add to it the
drama which we'll hear the highlights coming up later on

(17:03):
the program from the Pirates win are the Pirates lost to.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Them to the Rockies.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
But the Yankees were one of the teams on an
historic trade deadline week. I mean, you don't get trade
deadline days like we had on Thursday.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
It was crazy all day.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
It seemed like all day Wednesday into the midnight whenever
the Mariners made their deal at midnight. It just it
seemed like it was NonStop Major League Baseball trades right
up until the deadline. And in that the Yankees rebuilt
their pitching staff. And what did they do in the
wake of it. They watched their brand new, rebuilt bullpen

(17:44):
absolutely blow it and fall to, of all teams, the
Miami Barlins. The Yankees bullpen tonight two and a third innings,
nine runs might have been if not the one of
the worst losses of the season for the Yankees. Uh

(18:05):
And overall this was supposed to help their bullpen and
had a five point six fight e RA in July,
the worst in the American League.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Something tells me, and I'm not a math guy.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Something tells me that that's gonna take a large hit
to start off August. Whenever your bullpen allows nine runs
on two and a third innings. Ah, baseball man. And
by the way, he's supposed kind of getting exciting. We're
at what like fifty games to go. They're they're barking,
they're begging for your attention right now, and I think

(18:36):
they're earning it. All right, if you know what you
want to talk about before we dive into it eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six sixty three, sixth night.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
You can always find us on Twitter.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
I'm at Plank Show, Bree is at Breeding Each twenty
six Mark is a mark with the C M A R.
C Ramsey six four nine five oh, and everyone should
follow us at Fox Sports Radio. Okay, when we come back,
let's let's give a segment to the Mica parts in saga.
What's going on, the whys, the hows, the who's of it.
We'll dive into my connext right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports radio
dot Com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 6 (19:21):
Hey, we're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 7 (19:26):
We never have enough time to get to everything we
want to get.

Speaker 8 (19:29):
To and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything,
honestly because this guy is over promising things we never
have time for.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, you blubber list jam in me. Well you know
what it's called over promise.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
You should be good at it because you've been over
promising women for years.

Speaker 8 (19:48):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino on Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored, by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 8 (20:12):
There you go over promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen over Promised with
Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts or
wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Yeah, you know, Uh, there is another story out of
the WNBA that Nature Boy reminds us about on Twitter
at Plank Show at bredon Each twenty six at Mark
Ramsey six four nine though, that we had another sex
toy get thrown onto the court during a WNBA game.
There's obviously something behind us, like it's either a bit

(20:45):
or there's there's a promotion going on somewhere. You just
you can't get away with it, twys, you just can't.
This is an inside job somewhere. Nature Boy rets. What
an entertaining week in headline. Next thing, you know, Vegas
will have odds on when the next toy will be launched.
What will be the you know how they have the
gatorade showers. What will be the color of the next

(21:05):
sex toy that's thrown onto a court at a w
NBA game. You know right now there is a sportsbook
somewhere that is drumming up odds on that they paint
me as somebody that I.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
Just don't really have much interest in this. Man, I'll
tell you one thing.

Speaker 9 (21:23):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
I don't know why, but I know Caitlin Clark isn't
playing too terribly much, and I love watching women's basketball,
but I have had zero interest in the WNBA. So
if you're looking for hot WNBA takes throughout the night,
I don't think I'm the guy for.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
You, Just throwing that out there.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I'm sure we've got others that still do and still are,
but I'm not.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
I'm not that guy. I'm not that guy.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
But what I infatuated with right now, and what I've
been reading on, studying, on nerding out on leading up
to this program is the Michael Parsons saga. Are are
Michael Parsons, who you know missed four games last year,
but if you asked Jerry Jones, he missed six. And
I feel like we just we need a little bit
of a of a history lesson on this because the

(22:11):
problem all started with Jerry doing Jerry things, which is
talking about a contract situation.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Right This is this.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Is something that Jerry Jones has done and done pretty
regularly during his tenure as the Dallas Cowboys owner slash
general manager, and my charge has always been to everyone,
Hey man, usually.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
These deals work out.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
We are a year removed from Jerry Jones saying that
he is in no rush whatsoever to get a deal
done for Ceedee Lamb. Only what a week later to have,
you know, Ceedee Lamb get a massive deal with the
Dallas Cowboys and become one of the highest paid wide
receivers in the game. So Jerry typically gets done with

(22:58):
Jerry Jones. I'll as a start before we rolled through this, Brie.
Why does this one feel different to me? Is it
because there's actually been the trade demand made by Michael
Parsons Like this just I don't know, it has a
it has a different vibe to me with the way
that Jerry's handled it.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Wasn't there like some talk about whether or not like
he like they hadn't talked, the agent, hadn't been.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Involved, whatever that was exactly.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Yeah, there was like that weird miscommunication. And also I
just think that it's weird that everybody's like, well, it's
gonna get done. It's gonna get done, Like Jason Garrett
came out and said it.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
I feel that way.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Dak Prescott said that and like everybody's just been like,
oh no, no, it's gonna get done. And then it's like, well,
why hasn't it been done? Then like yeah, like Jerry's
gonna wait and he's gonna there, he's gonna do it
on his own terms. But yeah, no, I agree. Something
feels super off and then calling him Michael like what
we were talking about after. I don't know there. I

(23:56):
don't know if there's like some kind of like pride
or there's just like there just seems to be a
huge disconnect that I don't think that he had with
the other players before, or.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
At the very least, he played too much, right, he
was at friend, just played too much, and now finally
he's reached the point where someone's angry enough to where
they've taken a step in this process that no one
has really taken before. With the Cowboys, you got to
go back to ninety four and him at Smith and Emmett.
I don't think ever really demanded a trade. But this

(24:26):
all started right at the start of camp. We've got
to go, well, this all started last year, maybe even
before then. After the end of the twenty twenty three season,
whenever Micah didn't get the extension that he wanted, and
his agent told him to wait. He decided to wait,
thought they had the parameters of a deal, and then
radio silence. But the other level, if you will, like

(24:50):
where this reached code red, was when Jerry started camp
with this.

Speaker 10 (24:57):
Just because we signed him doesn't mean we're going to
have him. He was hurt six games last year. Seriously,
we've signed I remember signing a player for the highest
paid at the position in the league and he got
knocked out two thirds of the year, Dark Prescott. So
there's a lot of things you can think about, just
as the player does when you're thinking about committing and

(25:17):
guaranteeing money.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
So that was It's just odd, right.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
It's first of all, he he got the number of
games wrong whenever he was talking about how many games
that Micah missed at some point during his little rambling.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
But it's just it's odd, right, It's like, why did
you decide.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
To point out Mike and missing games whenever this happens
all the time in the league. Here was what Michael
Parsons then said a couple of days later, whenever he
was asked about Jerry Jones comments.

Speaker 11 (25:49):
For each other.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
But stuff gets set in the media. Have you had
a conversation with him after as vice president?

Speaker 1 (25:54):
But I'm I'm gonna talk to him.

Speaker 12 (25:56):
Well, I just thought as a whole, like, you know,
everyone situations differently, you know what I mean, at the
end of the day, Like, I'm.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Here for my teammates.

Speaker 12 (26:05):
You know, I'm not here to please another grown man.
I'm here for them.

Speaker 13 (26:09):
You know.

Speaker 12 (26:09):
I want to be here with Trey, watching rehab, watching
on the field, watching grow I want to be here
bat on with Terrence.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Still, Like if I'm here for.

Speaker 12 (26:17):
These guys, I'm not here for him, you know. So
I think, you know, I think at the end of
the day, he's on the field with us. You know,
we're on the field, playing the games and things like that.
So if I'm gonna just control my teammates, keep boosting
it and uh, you know, we're just gonna keep playing together.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Then you had Jerry Jones make comments where the crowd
wasn't as loud, demanding a new deal for Mike as
they work for CD LAMB. Just all these all these
little shots, and it just it has a weird vibe
to it. Again, I will give you that precursor that
I think a very small handful of Cowboy fans would

(26:51):
agree with to me on right now. Jerry usually gets
these deals done. They usually get done more often than not.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Did you get signed?

Speaker 2 (26:59):
This one has a different feel because earlier tonight Micah
Parsons went to Twitter and made a trading man and
basically said goodbye to Dallas again a reminder Miles Garrett
said goodbye to Cleveland, and then it ended up signing
a massive deal, massive deal of the cop with the Browns. Jerry,
according to this, apparently felt like he and Micah had

(27:22):
reached an agreement on the deal, but the agent wasn't involved.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
And I've been guilty of this.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
I mean, I'm kind of dealing with this right now
with something in my professional lite to where I admittioned
I'd be interested in that, and then all of a
sudden it went from being interested in it to all right,
we got to start making the plans for him to
take this over, and I was like, whoa, you know,
hold on here. We had this conversation, but I don't
have an agent. I have a wife. But I got
to clear all this with the boss. You know, there's

(27:51):
no way we can just jump into this. So there's
a part of me, and it's on a buch smaller
scale that understands where maybe you're having these conversations with
someone and I don't even know, like legally, rules wise,
I don't know if legally isn't the best way to
put it, but rules wise, in the NFL, Brie, I
would assume that the NFLPA has some protection for a

(28:12):
guy who has an agent to not be beholden to
some alleged deal that he had with the owner on
a handshake agreement. I mean, I would assume that there.
Why isn't Florio all over this. I figure he'd be
nerding out on this that. I mean, if you're saying, well,
we had an agreement with Mike en he agreed to this,
But that's not really how the NFL has ever worked,

(28:33):
and Jerry's not in his first year as a general
manager either, So I don't understand why that would be
something that suddenly the Cowboys are acting like Miles Miles
Mike is beholden too, and I don't understand why it
appears as if that's something they're holding against him. Quote
Michaeh Parsons, I no longer want to play for the
Dallas Cowboys. My trader request has been submitted to Steven

(28:56):
Jones personally. Mike's host, though he's got a lot of
things working against him. Right now, he's still under contract
and the Cowboys are essentially own his rights for the
next three years. They have he's under contract this year
and his first round pick. They can tag him each
of the next two years. If he walks out of camp,
that's fifty k per day. But remember he's still under

(29:19):
his rookie deal, so those trades can be rescinded. And
for the Cowboys Dallas Fan, NFL fan, this is something
the Cowboys really haven't experienced through Jerry. With Jerry, she's
probably ninety three with Emmett, you know, Dak and CD
kind of cut their deals close to this season, but

(29:39):
they both got done. Zach Martin deal got done, Ezekiel
Elliott deal got done. In this instance, it's the first
time where you've seen the trade demand. And I understand
some might say, guys, it's the first week of camp.
I mean, do you really need Micah Parsons day? I

(30:00):
would say yes, And I've got three reasons why. Number One,
you're starting out with Eagles, You're you're opening you're the
your Thursday Night Cowboys Eagles opening up the season. You
have as tough of competition as you can have right
out of the gates. That's number one. Number two, he
got a new defensive coordinator. And even if Mike is
gonna be your Sea ball get ball guy, or if

(30:22):
he's gonna be go get the quarterback, there's still you know, rules,
and it's still different than what he had to deal
with last year. I mean you you brought in Matt Ebraflus,
and listen, I I don't have any of my former
NFL buddies here right now, or any of our guys
like Leavar Arioton or Jeff Schwartz or Rob they could
lay it out, go oh yeah, here, here's what he

(30:43):
does differently in Matt Ebraflu's system as opposed to what
the Cowboys dealt with with Mike Zimmer anytime before. I
just it's it's different, and I think that you want
your defensive star to have a thorough, at in depth
understanding of what that defense is going to look like
for him. And then the third thing is, and you've
noticed this on social media, Michael Parsons is a team leader.

(31:06):
He's a dude that you pay because he's an outpha
in that locker room. He's a leader, and oh yeah,
he's a baller too. He's the best player on your defense.
So for those that are like, oh man, I don't
see a rush on this one, that's why I would
push back. Does Jerry inevitably get these deals done? Yes,
but now you have a guy who it's officially a distraction,

(31:29):
so that affects your locker room. Point three, You've got
a whole new defensive formula plan, whatever way you want
to look at a concept scheme. He's falling behind by
not being on the field and participating in that. And
then of course that prep as you start getting into
game prep for Philadelphia. I mean, you're opening with the
defending champs. It makes it hard. So pre I ask you, Mark,

(31:51):
I ask you, guys, with everything that's happened here, is
this all a bunch of negotiating ploys, things of that
nature and inevitably we get a deal done. Is this
Michael Parsons trying to accelerate any kind of lag from
the Cowboys or does it seem as if this is
the end of what has always been kind of a

(32:12):
unique relationship anyway, And I'm really surprised that mikelh went
to the notes instead of doing his own podcast. I mean,
doesn't he have his own podcast? So what do you think?
Is he a cowboy or no? Dallas says they're not
going to trade him.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Yeah, but I think I do. I think they'll they'll
finally they will come up with something. But I think
this is kind of the end of like these types
of negotiations with players, Like I don't think we'll ever
see this kind of like Jerry Jones, like back and
forth and again, Like I think this is going to
be the end because of how ugly this has turned.
I don't know, that's just how I see this like

(32:47):
turning out. Like I think it'll get done, but I
don't think they'll ever he'll ever be in a situation
like this again, Does that mean anither?

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Yeah? No, No, I see what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
This was kind of like the end like everything else,
It's like, Okay, yeah, we all expect this from Jerry.
We all expect just this from Jerry. But yeah, I
think Micah was just like, no, okay, I'm done with this.

Speaker 7 (33:04):
Yeah, game where both sides don't want to give it
any ground, and Jerry's going to be Jerry and do
it my way or we can't do it, and the
players like, I want to do it this way, and
they can't seem to find a common way.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
To get along.

Speaker 7 (33:20):
So they's gonna box box box until somebody figures out
a way to give in and say face.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
I'll add this to it.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
I I just don't get why you would even let
it reach this point.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Because it's Jerry Jones. It is soap opera. It's Days
of Our Lives season twenty five.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Stephen Jones was asked by one of the radio stations
in Dallas of the accusations. It's some some feel that
the Cowboys drag these negotiations out because they like the drama.
Now he pushed back vehemently against it. But you haven't
reached this point. There hasn't been any of these negotiations

(34:05):
where any of these stars that Dallas has inevitably signed
asked for a trade, dead ask for a trade until now.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
We'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Speaker 2 (34:14):

Speaker 3 (35:17):
On the phone, We're gonna go emmett em at first.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
End up in Olympia. What's going on? Immit?

Speaker 14 (35:21):
Welcome to the show, Hey, Chris, thanks for a shot
to brief and letting me go first. I got a question, though, Chris.
Has Arnie spam texted you guys today saying that the
Dolphins are going to get Micah Parsons. Has that been
a thing?

Speaker 2 (35:32):
No, No, he's too busy celebrating starting two and zero
in his picks. So I've never seen anybody celebrate getting
two correct picks more in their life than Arnie has that.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
I remember, not only.

Speaker 14 (35:43):
Two correct picks Chris, two correct picks in a preseason game.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
That's right, that's right where he's usually just been awful
at picking games, even though he's trying to brag on
himself about it. Right exactly, But no, I haven't heard
that yet. All it's been is celebrating his two and
oh star with his picks.

Speaker 14 (35:57):
It's going to be a good show on Sundays. I
guarantee you he's gonna call that Michah Parsons will be
on the Dolphins. And my thoughts on Micah this is
just a bleep show and it's kind of just the
Dallas Cowboys as a whole. Like I was telling Ephram
and Robb earlier that this is the most Dallas Cowboys
thing I've ever heard. I mean, it's not even just
this whole contract thing like Jerry Jones. I don't know
if you remember, Chris, but I believe it was like

(36:18):
November or last year, there was a story going around
that guys like CD Lamb could not see at a
certain point of the field because of the fun glare Ye.
It's simple things that Jerry Jones can't fix, and it's
just really scummy business behavior. I mean, Michael Parsons is
paying an agent. The whole point of paying an agent
is for him to be there and make sure you're
not getting screwed out of money or benefits and that deal,

(36:38):
whatever it may be. So that's a bad look like alone.
Second of all, you have him calling him out, oh
he missed like six games, and then the whole all
the crowd is smaller for CD. This one feels different
to me, Chris, and I know that.

Speaker 6 (36:52):
You know.

Speaker 14 (36:52):
I was easily fooled by Miles Garrett. I thought he
was gone too, But just the way that Mike awarded
everything in his little essay he wrote on that, I
just don't see it working out, Like I feel like
there's too much that's like unfixable I mean, you have
the injury. This dude messed up his name like there's
a burner account on X today.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
That's all.

Speaker 14 (37:09):
It's pretty funny that was impersonating it. They're Michael Parson.
So it's done, man. I mean, maybe they work something out.
Maybe I'm easily fooled, but I think this is a
whole different situation than the Cowboys have ever had with
these negotiations.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
I agree. I appreciate the phone call, Emmet, thanks for
checking in, Buddy.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
I would say, I feel it's different, But I wonder
if we went back to last season.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
If I don't, were we doing the show last year?
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
But if you went back to last year, I'd say Bernie,
that's right, Bernie was still doing Friday and Saturday. Let's
say Bernie had a Friday all and it was right
after Jerry made the comments about I see no reason
to rush a contract for Ceedee Lamb or urgency, however
it was, however it was phrased. I'm taking some liberties
with the raising of it. But I wonder if I
felt the same way a year ago. Oh, they're just

(37:58):
they're gonna let them walk. They're going to screw this
thing up. They need a trade CD if they're not
going to pay him, Oh, they're screwing up the Dak
Prescott contract. I don't know if I felt that same way.
It just it has never reached this point with a
Cowboy player. And maybe it's all maybe we're all being played,
maybe it's all negotiating ploys, But Brie, I agree with

(38:19):
Himmett one hundred percent on one thing, and that is
Jerry knows the rules. He knows when you can and
can't talk to someone. He knows when a deal is
agreed upon. And unless you've got some beef with his agent,
which he doesn't appear that the Cowboys or Jerry does,
why would you take Micah Parsons at his one hundred
percent word whenever? You know, inevitably you got to push

(38:41):
things through his agent anyway. And it's almost as if
Joey's like, well, I'm sorry, he said this was the deal.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
It's like, well, okay, things have changed. You know, I'm
not here.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
I've got to finish the I dotting and tee crossing
and what really matters here. It's just it's standoff, and
I don't know how it ends. I will be honest
with you, though, I can't get enough of this story
because it is It's everything you want in a major
sports story. It is an iconic franchise, one that people

(39:11):
respond and react to. It is one of the most
polarizing owners in all of sports, who has been the
general manager for from day one, essentially when he got
the job right, that's what led to the end of
he and Jerry and problems with I are he and
Jimmy and problems with Ian par Cells. I mean, we're
going back a long ways, but it's it's Jerry freakin Jones.

(39:34):
It's a talent that immediately, immediately all of us and
it makes a point about you know already want him
with the Dolphins. All of us look at him and think, man,
he looked good in our team's uniform. That's a dude
in Mike Parson said, he looked good. I'm a Raider
fan in a Raiders uniform. I'm sure Mark can find
a way to get him on the Bears. I'm sure

(39:55):
Bree can find a way to get him on the Saints.
You know, it's someone that you look at, you like, damn,
that's a player, and it's just it's something that doesn't
happen that often in this sport, at least with a
star player in his prime, where you have a guy
demanding a trade. I mean to me, we haven't seen
anything like this since Khalil Mack and the Raiders were
dumb enough to trade him. Awesome return on that one too,

(40:18):
Damon Arnette Jonathan Abram.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
I mean, it just worked out so well for the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
So my point, more than anything else, is this is
one of the and you're just getting camp started, so
we can't get too carried away over the highlights of
the Hall of Fame game, even though we're going to
It has all of the ingredients for a massive story,
and you added a little extra spice tonight when the
player in question said, I went out and basically pinned

(40:43):
his goodbye to Dallas.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Now, is it truly the end? Is it negotiation? Is
he being a drama queen?

Speaker 2 (40:49):
Massive question we'll try to answer all night long on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (40:54):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
All right, We're rolling hour two come to you live

we've talked about Mike Parsons a lot in our one.
We We're gonna get into some overrated offseason teams here
in just a bit, but I want to get to
your calls at eighty seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
We've got a couple of open lines.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
But Andre in Massachusetts is gonna kick us off here
at our number two, So jump on in here. Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine
nine six sixty three sixty nine. What's going on, Andre?
How are you tonight?

Speaker 15 (41:55):
I'm doing good, Thanks for taking the call. Happy with
the return of the NFL preseason action, which I'm personally
a fan of seeing guys trying.

Speaker 16 (42:05):
To make the team.

Speaker 15 (42:06):
I like the Trey Lance narrative playing for hardball, a
coach that knows what to do with running quarterbacks, seeing
if he can possibly get his career back on track. Now,
of course, Justin Herbert is going to be the man
for the Chargers, but he could have an important role
with this team, and it could be an opportunity for
him again reshape his image and possibly lead to getting

(42:29):
an opportunity to compete for a starting job down the roads.
Probably not going to happen with the chargersself, right, So
I'm a fan of preseason, the hard knocks time in football, right,
a lot of these braggs, the richest types of stories
that you see, and you know, it's just and it's
nice to have football back overall. Now to the biggest

(42:49):
story and arguably the biggest market with the Dallas Cowboys
and Jerry Jones. Yeah, Willis He's he's a little bit
fired up about this back and forth because it just continued.
It's in sets, right with Jerry playing out the string,
these negotiations going on and on and on and on,
and now Michael Parsons seemingly putting his foot down and

(43:09):
saying he's not going to go back to the Cowboys again.
Willis he he possibly supports Michael Parsons For me, I'm
not sure why he waited so long. Right, the season
is already upon us, So you go to social media
with this, you know, kind of sympathy. What's the word
I'm looking for. It's almost like a Dear John letter,
you know, I tried my hardest. You know, it's almost

(43:30):
like Toleen Dion, my heart will go on. The only
thing is the season's about the start. So what do
you tell me, Michael Parsons are going to hold out
for the entire seasons because at this point in time,
the team holds all the cards. Demanding of trade in
the NFL is not the same as in the NBA,
where the players have more leverage and they can kind
of lean on organizations. At the end of the day,
they get what they want. The NFL, it's about the shield.
So Michael Parsons, even though I like the storyline and

(43:52):
it's intriguing and possibly this is what the Dallas Cowboys
and Jerry Jones want. Is this high drama which ends
up with Jerry paying more than the other why I
should have. But in terms of Michael Parsons, I'm not
seeing necessarily where the leverages at this particular point in time.
If you want to take this hard lines, it probably
should have been in the spring to say this is
what I want. I'm not taking anything less, you know,

(44:12):
put the podcast on hold if you want to put
the negotiations out front, and then I think you would
have as it gets to this point, people would kind
of take you more seriously. But for me, at campus starting,
you're gonna say trade me or I'm not gonna play
in the NFL. I mean, I think the owners laugh
at that. Then just don't play it. We're gonna take
all your money. And at a certain point in time,
what happens because their contract isn't what the other leagues are,

(44:32):
players end up coming back because you're just gonna lose.
You're gonna be losing money based on what they agreed
to when they're in their collective bargaining agreement.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
So it's great.

Speaker 15 (44:40):
Content and storylines and narrative. I don't think Michael Parsons has,
frankly a leg to stand on. And then for Jerry,
he gets everything he wants. He can see, you know,
cowboys and I'm going to hold the line and you
can talk back and the boy back and forth. It's
better for both of them that they they arrive at
a deal. But Micah, I don't you know, maybe you
are willing to sit out the whole season. You know

(45:02):
it's happening. He hasn't really running backs. I forget the
running back for the Jack Elliott Yeah right, you know,
And so I'm I'm cautious leading I I want to
put this, you know.

Speaker 4 (45:14):
I just think it's the.

Speaker 15 (45:15):
Script is going on as planned with the Cowboys, and
at the end of the day, what it means is,
either're not going to make the playoffs, We're going to
be out in the first round and to start to
show again. Thanks taking the call.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
Appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Now, I was who is we're referring to, right zee
in the contract fight that he had, I agree with him.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
I agree with Andre.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
If you're Micah Parsons and your whole idea has been
I want a new deal. You needed to make it
a bigger issue early. And I get why he didn't.
I completely get he wanted more than anything else to
not be a distraction, even though he is one hell
of a distraction, right he He wanted to be just

(45:54):
getting there and work. He wanted to be a team guy.
But I don't think anyone imagined it would take this
long get that deal done. And he's others get paid
before him, So.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
We get so caught up.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
I think some everyone remember when y'all were losing your
mind last week about the NFL Players Association story quickly,
how that didn't become a big deal. I told you
you guys don't care about the Players Association. You wanted
to be out there on game day. That's what matters
to you most. You don't care about concussion protocol or research.
You want your guy to be out there playing. And

(46:27):
that's what it inevitably will come down to with Michael
Parsons because because of all this NFLPA stuff and the
deal the players took to have less practice to get
longer health care whenever they're done there. They just didn't
give away everything they There were things that they heard
from they wanted to They wanted to have a structured
rookie salary cap essentially, and because they got all that,

(46:47):
there were certain concessions that they made, and one of
them is there. You know, Michael Parsons has no power here,
the only and everyone that's yelling they got to trade them. Okay,
what's Mike agnna sit out for three years? I mean,
if if you want to be stubborn enough, that's what
the Cowboys could do.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
He is they trade me right now.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
All right, buddy, well you're under contract and you can
continue to get fined fifty K a day or are
your hold and maybe the Cowboys reach a point where
they say, hey, all right, you're not doing anything in practice.
Our trainers have said there's nothing wrong with you either
practice or you're considered a holdout. You just can't show
up here and not do anything. I mean, I don't

(47:26):
know if that's even allowed, but that's how ugly this
could get. They're letting him hold in right now, so
he's not getting the fine. It will see if he
shows up to camp tomorrow. Their first exhibition game is
next Saturday, preseason game. But he's still got one more
year left in his rookie contract and then they can
franchise tag him for the next two So you got

(47:49):
no negotiating power outside of social media support right now
and a bunch of us that don't know the rules
right and people are.

Speaker 1 (47:55):
Like, yeah, you just gotta pay him.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
You know what I would do if follows him, I
just go and basically not show up. Okay, you're gonna
get fined fi KJA or they need to do it
like the NBA. No, the people that try to compare
NBA deals or Major League Baseball deals, NFL deals. They're
all completely different worlds, completely different worlds, so you can't
he's he's in its top spot and he waited too long.

Speaker 1 (48:18):
All right, Poppy is in San Diego. What's going on? Poppy?
Welcome to the show The.

Speaker 16 (48:24):
Crow and Chris Blang. You know, we're talking about the
capitalist football season. I love it, and like my thoughts
about that is just drama. You know, It's like a
soap opera, and I love that because that's what Jerry
Jones does, you know, like, hey, we should be watching
this Netflix thing about the cheerleaders talking about that, you know,
but like it's the same old drama drama always. So

(48:46):
it's like Djo Bou you know, as the other colors
were saying that this happened before, I'm pretty sure this happened.
And it's seth too, you know, and you know the
nineties shore Edgman, I wouldn't be surprisor Michael Irving, you know.
But you know even on from time when he was
right there and he's having drama, you know, Dion standards
he's gonna say or not. He went with the forty
nine ers, right, am I right, Chris Flankers, Yeah, right,

(49:07):
So I feel like it's the same thing. You know,
Jerry Jones an't gonna change. And I feel that Michael
Parker batch ofp on you because you have your your agent,
you pay them to do all that stuff. And I'm al,
he's trying to act like the generation, the news generation,
you know, they put everything on social media and stuff
like that.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
You know, are their podcasts too, Don't forget about that.

Speaker 2 (49:28):
Don't forget about Mike's podcast, which again is fine. They
don't really need us to spread the word for them
anymore as far as the media, but you do need
to make sure that you're approaching this the right way.
And I don't think either side has so far exactly.

Speaker 16 (49:43):
And uh, well, we'll see what the cowboys, I mean,
the cowboys were talking about it, Jerry Jones find is
going on. I don't know what's going to happen. If
I were to predict the future, I think, like you know,
based on my algorithm and the Poppy algorithm, what he's
done before, I think.

Speaker 11 (49:58):
He's going to shine them.

Speaker 16 (50:00):
No, but but we'll see, we'll see if he signs
them so and then I know you guys want to
hear the picks. Right, let's go on with the pitch.
Right there are poppy sticks. I'm feeling only one picture there,
Chris Frank And you know it's on baseball. We all
saw what the Dodgers did, bad job on them on
the offseason.

Speaker 17 (50:20):
And right here at San Diego, my home down.

Speaker 16 (50:22):
They went all in to get the players that they wanted.
And I think they're the winners on the trade. And
you know they got who they wanted the players, and
you know tomorrow the Padres are going to be playing
against the Cardinals and the Padres are in the six
game winning streak. Guys, we have to ride the table.
We're going with the hottest team right now in baseball,
the San Diego Padres. They need to win. And I

(50:43):
thought they went all in to beat the Padres as
I told my friend that, Hey, Padres are going after
the Dodgers and winning the NLS. My prediction right here.

Speaker 11 (50:53):
If you guys want to.

Speaker 16 (50:53):
Do future beads, you're into that. But I think tomorrow
the lines minus one thirty five right against the corners, Right, Chris,
I'm really loving the Padres.

Speaker 11 (51:01):
What are you thinking?

Speaker 2 (51:02):
Well, I'll tell you this. So this is you're only
taking You're only taking one game tonight. You're only taking
the Padres tonight.

Speaker 16 (51:08):
Well, I mean that's that's what I'm.

Speaker 2 (51:11):
Smart, Yes, smart, All right, let me let me appreciate
your phone call, Poppy. I I can't believe the amount
of talent the Padres trading like. I'll be I saw
spow Track tweeted this the other night and the Leo
Devreese trade. I mean, where's Bradon at when I need
someone to nerd out about where a guy was as

(51:32):
far as overall overall ops and war ratings and things
of that nature, But he was you traded at least
according to slow Track and the tweet they threw out
on Thursday, the Padres traded four of their top actually
I guess you go, five of their top seven prospects

(51:54):
in devrees, U three Pictures and the shortstop cop High Tower.
I mean, that's pretty legit and saying all right, we're
making a move. So when all of a sudden done,
they traded their top prospect in the organization, their third, fourth, sixth, seventh, twelve, thirteen, seventeenth,
twenty sixth, and twenty ninth as well as three other pitchers.

(52:16):
I mean, that is bro, that is a haul that
you're giving up. And I don't I don't know if
they you know, I haven't, I haven't heard. If maybe they,
I don't think they would have read. I don't think
they would name the Dodgers by name. But I wonder
if they looked at it. And we kind of joked
about this a little bit last week in previewing the
trade deadline. I wonder if they looked at it and thought, huh,

(52:38):
Dodgers are reeling a little bit. You know, last year
they got us. But I think it's fair to say
that Padres had kind of had their number before last
year in the postseason.

Speaker 1 (52:48):
Why not just go all in right now?

Speaker 2 (52:50):
Got a good young core, and like we said, they're
only three games back right now. I like your pick, Poppy,
but more than and Bri. You were anchoring the desk
on trade deadline day, right It's crazy to see everything
that Padres were doing.

Speaker 3 (53:04):
I was wild, terrifying, but so fun. It was fun.
I did see a tweet and I want it. Maybe
it might have been Adam Rink or Daniel Jeremiah. No,
not not Adam Rank. Maybe it was Daniel Jeremiah because
he's the Padres fan. But I think he said parades
over prospects.

Speaker 1 (53:20):
I was like, he's.

Speaker 3 (53:21):
Sweet, and I was like, Okay, I guess that's I'll
take it. Yeah, that's the way.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
I'll tell you. I am.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
I've been burned by my team trading a guy that
became a rock star.

Speaker 1 (53:33):
And it's a.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
Long time ago, but when the Dodgers traded Pedro Martinez
for Delano to Shields, I don't I don't know that
I've recovered from that. I think we're going back like
well over thirty years when that trade was made. But
to me, that always scares me. With any prospect trade
that you make. I mean, did the Padres just trade
trade Turner? Did they just trade you know, another guy

(53:54):
that in a couple of years from now? Oh what
am I talking about? It's baseball in five years from
now that we'll be looking at talking about. I don't know,
but I do. If you're going to go in, go
all in. And that's exactly what the Padres did. Let's
get let's get Stanley from Massachusetts in before the break. Stanley,
you're on Fox Sports Radio. What's going on?

Speaker 1 (54:13):
Man?

Speaker 11 (54:14):
Well, the rush man, what a what a on a
ventful trade deadline on the part of Craig Breslo. I
heard on the Boston media side that he has such
poor communications skills that's why these trades didn't go through.
But that's not the problem that I wanted to talk
to you about.

Speaker 1 (54:29):
Okay, so Michael Parsons.

Speaker 11 (54:32):
See, I said it to multiple prime and seasoned Cowboys
fans that signing Michael Parsons would put the Cowboys in
cat hell. And it doesn't really make any sense for
Jerry Jones in a football perspective to even build on
one person being on the defensive side of the ball.
He already paid Dack and they already paid CD and
I think his best place to go through the San

(54:54):
DA not San Diego. The Chargers doesn't just make sense
for him. But the other thing is two, I don't
know why they deleted it because he was offered, not
even offered. He was eligible to get a contract extension
twenty three, but for some reason didn't even make this
think about it, which he should have. On the Washington aspect,

(55:17):
Terry mccullin's the top guy. I don't know why they're not.
They're playing games as a Patriots fan, I think they
should just hop on this because Terry mccallen's basically at
the whole offense. Once Terry McCallin doesn't want to play
because of this contract or whatever, the rest of the
receiving corps is just the mid guys. They're like twos
and threes or even fours on other teams. And if

(55:39):
they're not going to take it seriously, you just stunt
the jam John dingelss growth. And then not only that,
I mean there's really no fund to even build a
new stadium. Actually gonna just be mid.

Speaker 4 (55:50):
All the time.

Speaker 11 (55:51):
But realistically from the Patriots, cool Streams is not making
this team. Kendrick Bourn is not making this team. You
and Cole they only even like him seeing them with Baker,
you trade a second round pick. I say that's a game,
that's for a game.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
You think you give him for a two?

Speaker 11 (56:12):
I mean he's thirties, he's surround your owner than me,
So I think he just made I think it just
makes sense.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
And if you're the end, if you're a Washington, if
you think about it too right, you want to trade
him to the You want to trade him Mark Jimmy Stanley.
You want to trade him to the opposite confidence you
don't want him burning you in the NFC. You can
trade him to New England. And you're right, like there
is there's an opportunity there at wide receiver. And I think,
correct me if I'm wrong, but I get this feeling

(56:41):
that suddenly people are starting to buy the Patriots a
little bit and they feel like they might be better
than what we anticipated, even when Brabel first took.

Speaker 1 (56:49):
Over the job.

Speaker 11 (56:50):
Well, the thing is with Rabel and we can all
attest to this. You guys got to test to this.
He brought fricking mediocre Tannehill to the playoffs and almost
went to the super Bowl. They didn't moved from Bengals
his mindset. I remember when I was playing at Sophie
Academy of Christian Wilgan's, I saw him that dude, Mike
group was fired up.

Speaker 9 (57:10):
It is what it is.

Speaker 11 (57:12):
But realistically, though he brings the swagger to this team,
I think this team is going to probably compete to
the East because if you look at that Bill's.

Speaker 18 (57:20):
Team, they don't even have a good ride receiver on
that team, and that that secondary the Patriots have right
now is above average, and I think they can cold beat,
especially with the past rush they got they just signed over.
But like I said, I have them Patriots winning the
ACS if they do make this trade.

Speaker 9 (57:39):
But they don't.

Speaker 11 (57:40):
I mean, it is what it is, but I think
it makes sense for Terry culling Patriots.

Speaker 1 (57:45):
Oh go ahead.

Speaker 11 (57:46):
I'm sorry, No, no, you're good.

Speaker 18 (57:48):
But you have a nice night.

Speaker 1 (57:49):
How you brother?

Speaker 2 (57:50):
I would say of the teams right now that would
that would be burning up the Washington funds with Terry
McLain has lost in the Micah Parson saga is you
know we had a week last week where there were
rumors that McLaurin had demanded a trade and he was
his camp was quick to say, no trade demand has

(58:13):
been made. You know, it hasn't happened. Now all of
a sudden, he's demanded a trade. Now, all of a sudden,
it's like, oh what out of here? I mean, you
start thinking about teams that might be burning up the phones.
The Patriots are number one, number one on that depth chart,
I mean absolutely number one, and he fits exactly what
they need. You know, you got you mentioned, you've got

(58:35):
some youth, you got some promising youth right now, that
in that room.

Speaker 1 (58:40):
I don't know where Diggs fits in.

Speaker 2 (58:42):
I don't know, but you got a guy that is
serious in Terry McLaurin, and you got a guy that's
pretty serious in mac Collins too. Mac Collins is a
good piece to have in that locker room. I don't
know why he's bounced around so much in the last
few years, but I would have loved that the Raiders
could have kept him around. He was good, and you
drafted Kyle Williams in the third round this year. I mean,

(59:03):
if I'm the Chargers, now you mentioned the Chargers for Parson.
If I'm the Chargers, I know that you had a
rookie that kind of stood up in the Hall of
Fame game. But I if I'm serious about continuing to
put great pieces around for Justin Herbert, I'm making that train.
And you know what, I wouldn't be surprised if another
AFC West team, maybe like the Raiders, would make that call.

(59:24):
But if you're Washington, you committed to Deebo Samuel this offseason, right,
you went and made the move and brought him there.

Speaker 1 (59:32):
You gotta commit to Terr mclaurin's It's.

Speaker 2 (59:34):
A tough, tough tough debate receivers near thirty or over thirty.
It's kind of where they start to decline a bit.
But I feel like this is a dude They've got
to pay. You got two guys that we're talking about
tonight that are great debates. Michael Parson's do you blow
up a bit of your cap to make sure that
you keep a leader like that around?

Speaker 1 (59:52):
I say yes, he's the best player on your defense. McLaurin.

Speaker 2 (59:55):
To see if your future and wide receiver, you know,
at least the next four to five years, would think
you could get out of him. But he's definitely the now.
And by the way, Washington won a playoff game last year.
They won a playoff game last year after having the
number two pick in the draft.

Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
That's incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
So two teams that are jacking around right now, and
in the end, Mike is host. Mike has got no
power right now, but Terry does. He's got a little
bit of funk shwe here, He's got a little bit
of juice. So appreciate the phone call. Good stuff eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox, We're head in Oregon. We're
headed to talk to Mike the lepre Kahn when we
come back. It's the Plank Show rolling through a Friday

For those that missed out, a wild night in Major
League Baseball. In fact, dare I use the term a
historic night in Major League Baseball because according to let
me see here, make sure I give the proper credit.

Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
What is it the opti stats?

Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
Opti stats who is a fantastic follow if you like
nerdy numbers. Tonight marks the second time in the modern
era where three different Major League Baseball games had twenty
five or more combined runs on the same day. The
other was June twenty third of nineteen thirty. The Yankees
blew a late lead against the Marlins, and the Rockies

(01:01:54):
came back from out of nowhere to become the first
team in Major League Baseball history to will allow fifteen
or more runs, allow nine or more runs, face a
nine or more run deficit, and yet still win the game.

Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
Shouts out to Optistats.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
I don't know how you quickly find that out, Like
where do you put those filters in bree where it's like, okay,
so we have fifteen or more runs they allowed, there's
a nine run deficit.

Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
To have a nine run anding, whoa, that's never happened.

Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
There has to be like a spreadsheet like some kind
of Excel crazy Like, I'm baffling when those are just
found out so quickly, mind boggling man.

Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
And they had it up literally as the game was
wrapping up. It's unreal. Un real.

Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
A one other note for the rest of the program
here tonight, because we are a very football heavy show,
we're going to talk about overrated teams, teams that we
think are getting a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
Too much love. In this offseason.

Speaker 2 (01:02:47):
And again, this is all subjective, right, We're not looking
at this from a guarantee you this is I'm not
already I promise you this is gonna happen. But it's
a very it's a very interesting time to try to
filter her through what's legit and what isn't in the
hype train leading us up to the college football and
I guess in this instance pro football season. So eight seven,

(01:03:08):
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six six three six nine, if you want to jump
in on that, let's jump to the phones with Andy.
Andy's been patient there in Oregon. Let's get him in
here on Fox Sports Radio. What's going on, Andy?

Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
How are you?

Speaker 17 (01:03:20):
How's a doing?

Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
I'm doing great, outstanding man, me too.

Speaker 11 (01:03:24):
Your teams doing a maze and I keep it up.

Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
It's all. I'm just along for the ride. What's on
your mind?

Speaker 9 (01:03:30):
I got two takes. First, I'm in Oregon, so I
am stuck in the NFL purgatory. No team for me,
so I just follow other Oregon players. So I'm hoping
that Sarah McLaurin will go with Justin Herbert, because no
just I could after Marcus Mariota got destroyed by the Titans.
I had no hope at all, but justin Herbert, I'm

(01:03:51):
hoping you can do well. And then my second take
is Jerry Jones is just a pool and every single
year he just missed. The Cowboys know he makes money
for him, but they go nowhere until he's gone. I
don't think they're ever gonna make a Super Bowl over again,
but I hope the good Night.

Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
Man takes any any don't disappear on me real quick.
I want to ask you something.

Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
Yeah, how are things looking at the quarterback position right now?
And you know what I'm talking about because Dylan Gabriel graduates,
right so you bring in a new guy who was
there for a year and learn the offense and understands
what it's all about. But I'm very intrigued by what
Dante Moore could be this year. What are you seeing?
What are you hearing?

Speaker 9 (01:04:34):
I listened to the local sports talks every single day,
and you know, I have hope. Every year. I have hope,
but they always let me down some point another. But
you know, I mean I can always hope every year
is going to be a new year. So I have
a lot of high expectations that they're going to make it,
make it to the big game this year and so
but again I have to keep my expectations tempered because

(01:04:56):
I don't want to cry.

Speaker 16 (01:04:57):
Again.

Speaker 9 (01:04:58):
I still have a cigar waiting for when Mark this.

Speaker 15 (01:05:00):
Was at the title game.

Speaker 9 (01:05:02):
Uh, that's the guy I still able to smell good.

Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
So yeah, hold over that one.

Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
There'll be time. There'll be time, all right, brother, you
appreciate the phone call. Have a good one. Fascinating team
in college football this year. Fascinating team in Oregon. This
was the best team in the regular season last year,
thirteen and zero. First year in the Big Ten, they
went undefeated. That just doesn't happen in that conference. And

(01:05:26):
they had to reload quite a bit.

Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
You know, they kind of unique for Dan Lanning.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
You got two transferre portal guys and might start on
the offensive line, maybe a third even at a left
That meaning is an Isaiah World and Alex Harkey. So
you got left and right tackle transferred portal guys that
are coming in because they've typically built like really good
teams in college football. Nerd out time here. Hold on
really good teams in college football. They build everything else

(01:05:53):
skill position wise, usually through the portal or at pieces,
but you build your offensive line through your high school
recruiting and the guys you're to develop. Oregon's had to
dip into the portal a bit, and they've got three
guys that are gonna help him out. They've had to
dip in the portal to get a quarterback in Dante
More whom I like a lot, but in you know
you got you want to feel old. Achille Smith's son

(01:06:14):
is on the depth chart form Achille Smith Junior and
he's a true freshman and a lot of people are
excited about. So I'm doing my top twenty five countdown.
The associated plank pole is ready to go, and we've
been cooking through the lower half of it on my
local show. But Oregon is one of those teams that
I think a lot of people have just counted out

(01:06:35):
because of the fact that they don't have a known
entity at quarterback. But hell, who really does Who really
does have a known entity at quarterback?

Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
In the top ten right now?

Speaker 2 (01:06:45):
LSU in South Carolina, everyone else, There's questions everywhere.

Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
Georgia don't know Texas.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
I mean, everyone must think that arch Manning is Peyton
Manning's kid.

Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
He's two years been there. I like him a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
I think he's a quarterback, but we're heaping unmeetable praise
on him right now. Alabama is breaking out a new starter,
Oklahoma's breaking out a new starter. I mean they're new starters.
Ohio State new starter, Michigan new starter. Everything is new,
and I think Oregon might have one of the most
talented quarterbacks in all of them, I thinks Andy. Oh,
looky here, bright and Early. I guess this show tonight

(01:07:22):
from Mike the Leprecaun. What's going on, Michel Leprecaun?

Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (01:07:27):
I'm doing well? My parent gets to say, hi, anyways,
I'm busy. Oh my god, shut up. Yes, I was
in Hyannas for the week.

Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
Are you fighting with your birth tonight? You're fighting with
your parakeet.

Speaker 4 (01:07:41):
Fighting with me.

Speaker 9 (01:07:43):
I'm fighting with everybody.

Speaker 4 (01:07:44):
I was in Hyannas for the week and the trolls
on ben Aller are all over me. Put your fie,
but I'm up to and work.

Speaker 1 (01:07:52):
Wait wait, why are they all over you? What happened?

Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
Oh no, they're all attacking me. Oh my ll the
Lorena and Marcel and Blind Scott with anyway, you are
my Saturday refuge. Are you want tonight or not?

Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
I am not Birdie's back tonight, so I'll be I'm
good to sleep a little bit to say I'll be good.

Speaker 4 (01:08:13):
You're you're you and Brie and Mark right, Mark Mark
my Saturday.

Speaker 11 (01:08:18):
Yeah, you are my any port in the storm reference.

Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
In fact, then this week, at one point he complained
again about me getting him in trouble, and he said
in the studio, I said, bree it was my favorite.
And then for a whole you know, I twin him.
In a segment he calls the big Bree big breathe,
and I said big anyway. The Red Sox are actually good.

(01:08:42):
The Red Sox are good. They didn't do much with
the trading deadline, but they have a great young team
and they're actually they're kind of sneaky.

Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
I would say, are you excited about that?

Speaker 16 (01:08:52):
I am.

Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
Yeah. They had a great win last time. So I'm
going to send you a fun suggestion for breech Creek
in a moment, Oh Benny versus a penny, Benny versus
a penny didn't get renews? Uh oh yeah, new hampshirts.
He wants to come to boxon anyway, So we're treating
him a trip whenever he wants to come.

Speaker 7 (01:09:14):
Do you talk this much about Chris Plank when you
call Ben Maller?

Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Yeah, that's what I want to know.

Speaker 7 (01:09:18):
Do you be so distracted when you call us? But
do you talk this much about the other show over there?

Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
Good question?

Speaker 18 (01:09:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
No else?

Speaker 4 (01:09:29):
Okay? But I said, was Bree is great? She knows
the sport and like, you know who? And then I said,
Chris Blank, let me talk and talk and talk and
then he said then he said, who was Chris Blank?

Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
Ben?

Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
Yeah, I got to get to know him a little bit.
I've never really been around him too terribly much. Maybe
someday we can go have lunch.

Speaker 4 (01:09:51):
Yummy for lunch. Yeah, So don't shoot the messenger, as
they say, it's crazy. I mean, like Benny versus a penny.
He had a massive podcast yesterday for his announcements, and
we all thought it was good news that he was
put on NBC Teacock.

Speaker 15 (01:10:09):
But he wants me he was no.

Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
Good programming over there is the problem. I mean that
is when you got a guy that's flipping a penny
and battling the penny, it's quality programming.

Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
Well, Yesterday. It was another big Yesterday, and he got
very funny Friday. So that the crazy days on Ben
Maller on Monday and Friday, and it's obvious crazy. Yeah.
So yesterday Big Pop. You know Poppy, Poppy, Poppy is pig.
He came in and then somebody said, had anybody ever
done an imitation of Poppy? And Poppy tell you know

(01:10:44):
Poppy's up fast?

Speaker 18 (01:10:44):
Poppy thought that.

Speaker 4 (01:10:45):
So Coller and James Bran Scott and me did a
contest to see who could do the best impression of him. Well,
I was winning, but then I made a on my
last cop Anyway.

Speaker 7 (01:11:01):
Lepricat, you need to do these infomercials about Chris Plank
on Ben mall.

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
I need to recap on my whole show.

Speaker 7 (01:11:10):
You like thirty minutes of info from another show Chris Plank,
And it's like I need a commercial break from your commercial.

Speaker 1 (01:11:18):
Please you talk about this show I talked about but
he could you talk about this show or at least
what's going on.

Speaker 4 (01:11:30):
I will talk about Chris Clank next week.

Speaker 1 (01:11:31):
I do it now. Do it now?

Speaker 7 (01:11:33):
You got a second, go ahead, do it now, you
got a little bit of time. You call it now?
Talk about this show.

Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
Come on, Chris Planks, Mark and Brie are the best
on Fox Sports it again.

Speaker 6 (01:11:46):
Like you mean it, and.

Speaker 7 (01:11:49):
Ben ma Is get your guitar out, like you mean it.

Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
Come on, Thanks, Ike, appreciate it. I have a joke,
a joke, Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
Do you call him man and the Ocean with no legs?

Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
Bob?

Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
Yeah, so god, you know this. You call him man
and the ocean with one with one legs? I don't
know what, Bob Hope.

Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
Thanks to the phone call, Mike. I appreciate it. Mike
the Leprechaun.

Speaker 7 (01:12:20):
It's like a hiphomercial every time he calls.

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Let me tell you about crazy this whole week. Hold
on my parents yelling at me. Hold on, my kids
are playing my instruments.

Speaker 7 (01:12:32):
Like five things going on doing the phone.

Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
Call, Gunny rights Mike the Leprecaun talking about folks, and
all I can think is, quote, who are three people
that have never been in my kitchen? Cheers? Well done, Gunny.
I keep forgetting that Dustin May got traded that wud
it is. It's funny because you mentioned I'm like, oh damn,

(01:12:54):
that's right. He got traded to the friend.

Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
James Outman's gone, and I got really sad about that.

Speaker 1 (01:12:59):
Two guys that. Honestly, when they came to the Bigs,
I thought, here you go. Just never really.

Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
Panned outlashes moments moments.

Speaker 1 (01:13:09):
You're right.

Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
I'm not disagreeing, You're absolutely right, But I think the
Dodgers got better.

Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
I think Brock Stewart's a.

Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
Good get, right, Oh yeah, I thought that was a
great get.

Speaker 2 (01:13:20):
James Outman gone best in Megon. Who else did they
get rid of? Oh Fiducia right.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
And they got Alex Call from the Nationals to obviously
replace Outman outfielder.

Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
Sad yeah, sad day for those that like handsome outfielders
who apparently can't hit over the Mendoza line, or our
gingers everywhere who love watching one of them be able
to throw baseball really hard, but unfortunately unfortunately being able
to stay on the field. All right, quick break, We'll
come back with more of your calls next, plus overrated
teams and a storyline that fueled the early days of

(01:13:58):
this program has unfortunately been shot out of my dreams
and not a good way. We'll dive into that next
right here on Fox Sports Radio. You know, I never
want to dump on like a Hall of Fame class because.

Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
It is there.

Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
It's their moment, and I don't want to It's not
about us the fans, as much as it is about
them and what they did for us in their career.

Speaker 1 (01:14:21):
So I say this.

Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
With peace and love, and I'm drawing both of you
in because I'm not going to be alone on this one.
One of the most underwhelming Hall of Fame classes we've
had in a while for the National Football League, would
you would you agree?

Speaker 3 (01:14:39):
Breathe yeah, Jared Allen and Antonio Gates and get you
hyped up?

Speaker 1 (01:14:43):
Yeah, And again.

Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
I got a raider in there. I got Eric Allen,
So that's pretty cool. And I I appreciate Eric. I
think he's he's really good. I think obviously he's a
Hall of Famer, but I never really kind of thought
of him as All of Famer.

Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
He wasn't.

Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
I mean, he wasn't a guy that whenever I look
back on his career and watching him, like, holy smokes,
there is a Hall of Favor, baby, there is a
guy that did it all. So I don't know, man,
Maybe maybe I'm being short sighted.

Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
Twenty twenty four was like a little bit more exciting,
maybe because it was Julius Pepper's right, and Andre Johnson
and Devin Hester, And I mean there's those are guys
like you can just like visualize them like to some
big plays. Sure, and then maybe like it's like I
really could only think of like for me personally, like
Antonio Gates was big, and when I was growing up,

(01:15:43):
Jared Allen was really big for me. But those are
those guys had memorable plays.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
Wow, don't get me wrong. Memorable guys.

Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
But whenever when you don't, I guess maybe part of
it you don't have a first ballad guy.

Speaker 3 (01:15:56):
Oh, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
So maybe that's part of it too. But I I
just a little underwhelmed, little underwhelmed. Now, that doesn't mean
I won't watch all their speeches, that doesn't mean that
doesn't mean I probably won't be watching a lot of
old That doesn't mean I won't be watching a lot
of old Eric Allen highlights. You know, next year might
be an emotional year for you.

Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
Oh my gosh, I'm gonna cry. I might go. I'm
thinking about going because it's going to be in New Orleans, Orleans.
It's going to be there. Oh really, I think so.

Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
Drew brees By the Way, Drew Brees, and Larry Fitzgerald
absolute locks for next year.

Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
It's Hall of Fame class. Yikes.

Speaker 3 (01:16:36):
Let me feel late for Larry, like, I'm why, what's
the year? What's the rule for?

Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Five years?

Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
Five years?

Speaker 1 (01:16:44):
Yeah? His last year was twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
Okay, okay, so it's just on time, right on time.

Speaker 2 (01:16:49):
Here's the other possibilities, and you guys tell me if
you think they're in or not.

Speaker 1 (01:16:53):
This is another Juri Evans with the Saints.

Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
And what's there for ten years played the Packers offensive
lineman and Willie Anderson, who is an offensive tackle.

Speaker 1 (01:17:03):
I you know he's on.

Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
Evans has been eligible for twenty two for like three
years now and hasn't got in.

Speaker 1 (01:17:11):
Came close.

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
Willie Anderson has been eligible since twenty thirteen. But you
know one guy that came pretty close this year. If
Patrick Willis got in. He didn't get his none until
it's four years. I'm sorry, I said five. I apologize.
Four years, four years, my bad four year in Luke Keighley.

(01:17:33):
If Patrick Willis gets in, I think Luke Keickley's gonna
get in. And keith Ley's first year of eligibility was
this year. But if you're gonna have if Patrick Willis
is going to get in. I think Luke Keigley deserves
to be in. Defensive Rookie of the Year in twenty twelve,
Defensive Player of the Year in twenty thirteen, plus five
first Team All Pro designations, which is one more than

(01:17:56):
Brian r.

Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
Lacker.

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
But next year, Drew Brees. That's a lot that'll be
a little bit more entertaining. Enjoyed all tomorrow. All right,
let me get sir scratch off in before the top
of the hour at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
Where are you an America? Sir scratch off?

Speaker 17 (01:18:13):
What's going on, buddy?

Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
I'm enjoying the day. Where you traveling?

Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
Man?

Speaker 17 (01:18:17):
I'm just running these road like as man. I got
me a big old medium Hunter's pizzas, get me a
coo or full of ice, down bottles of water, and
it's quiet sitting deer run across the ditches.

Speaker 11 (01:18:27):
Man's just a great night.

Speaker 2 (01:18:30):
Don't let those don't let those dopes go running in
front of you so you end up with a mess.
But hey, road trip pizza, sir scratch off. I'm gonna
tell you that's the low key way to go. I
know some people are like, no, I just need a sandwich.
I just know road trip pizza is the way to go.

Speaker 17 (01:18:45):
Man, I give you a I got mad Hunters your
hundreds speaker on Arksalmduri. Oh yeah, and it's some good pizza.
I lay that thing up from my dash man and
which I lost sixty two pounds last year. I went
on a big deal and started cutting back a lot
of food, these stuff like which I've been sober four years,
matter of fact, this month out of thirty five years.
So that helped you. But now that pizza I just

(01:19:07):
kind of eat once in a while. I don't need
to top it and crush off. O. The kids just
know stuff. But I just I love bottle of water.
I'll go through like a forty eight pack in like
two and a.

Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
Half days, I mean NonStop.

Speaker 17 (01:19:19):
Uh well, I take a high blood presure anyway.

Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
So what's on your night? Mind to night? Chirs scratch
off great to your voice?

Speaker 17 (01:19:26):
My uh my radis are these cowboys?

Speaker 16 (01:19:30):
It's just you know, next month.

Speaker 17 (01:19:33):
I'll bet this fox for twenty four years, right all
night long, every time I'm not sleeping my radios on
the sports and cowboys. It just seemed like, we got
so many freaking teams. You know, you got the L. A.

Speaker 11 (01:19:45):
Rams, you got the l. A.

Speaker 17 (01:19:47):
Rams, you got the Tennessee Bass. And we talked about
the Cowboys all the freaking time. I mean, that's all
Malard talks about the Cowboys, lebron James and UH and
UH Rogers. I like to hear about other teams. You know,
You've got so many, but my over rating. I'm not
a I'm not a Manning fan.

Speaker 9 (01:20:07):
Tate Manning.

Speaker 17 (01:20:07):
We took care of him back who we play against
him with the Rams when he's at the Broncos. He
and his brother. Yeah, they was good. Yeah they had
super Bowls. But I just don't I don't give them
all the ratings everybody gives them. And the Cowboys, I
don't give them nothing. They haven't won a Super Bowl forever, you.

Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
Know, And I get you. I'm up against the heart out.
I'm sorry, sir, scratch off. I would defend the Cowboys.
Talk tonight with this. We have a major breaking story
with Micah Parsons demanding a trade. That's how the only
reason I get it. Defend it and we got more
to come next on Fox Sports Radio. Listen to Fox

(01:20:47):
Sports Radio Final Hour, Let's Go. We're coming to you
live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. And while this
is the Blank Show, every single thing on this network
is merely a pregame to the best pregame show on
the planet, Fox Sports Radio's Countdown presented by bet MGM.
Every Saturday and Sunday morning from nine eight to noon

(01:21:07):
Eastern sixty nine a Pacific, we will count you down
to all of the biggest games. Tune into Countdown presented
by bet MGM, every Saturday and Sunday morning right here
on Fox Sports Radio in the iHeart Radio we are
hold on. What is our countdown out official? I'm trying
to be I don't like to be on Pace guy.
I hate on Pace guy, but I am a big

(01:21:30):
Countdown guy. So for college football fans out there, by
the way, welcome to the family. Big news Tonight, I
was talking with show contributor Shady Sean for twenty and
he has committed to trying out college football this year.
Welcome to the family, Shady Sean. I'm so happy. You're
gonna love it. You're gonna enjoy it. It gives you.

(01:21:53):
If I don't know what the percentage of people that
need to find something more to gamble on. But if
you need something more to gamble on, and you've always
kind of looked down your nose at college football, you're
gonna love it. It's a better crowd experience too than
an NFL game.

Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
But y know, we are.

Speaker 2 (01:22:09):
Twenty days away, twenty days, twenty hours from the start
of the college football season twenty and I know we
will always have this fight in our nerdy sports world
about whether or not college football needs to invest more
in their week zero zero week or not. But for now,
you get you get a big twelve matchup in Iowa

(01:22:30):
State and Kansas State, which are two teams that I
like a lot going into this year, and you're gonna
you know, it's It's interesting because whenever you think about
Avery Johnson, you think about an NBA form an NBA
player have the voice coach of the Mavericks. For a while,
one of the greatest greatest impersonations in the history of

(01:22:50):
the ticket was fake Avery Johnson. But Kansas State has
a quarterback named Avery Johnson that is a dude, with
our guy Matt Wells running that offense. So you are
on teen days away essentially from the start of the
college football season, and then add you know, seven days
to that, you're twenty seven days away from the first
full Saturday of college football, which that adds to it.

Speaker 1 (01:23:11):
You are only thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
Two days away from the NFL opener Thursday night between
Eagles and the Cowboys. And here we are, to Sir
scratch Off's point, talking incessantly about the Dallas Cowboys. Not
because any of us think the Cowboys are going to
win the division, not because any of us think that
the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl. But why

(01:23:35):
because Jerry's done it again.

Speaker 1 (01:23:38):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
I've been a staunch defender of Jerry Jones because in
the end he always.

Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
Gets his guy.

Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
This one feels and seems different. Now next Friday night,
I could be sitting here and me, look you of this.
I was wrong. I also thought Miles Garrett might not
ever play another snap for the Browns after his trade
demand in February, only to sign the richest deal for
an edge rusher in March. Maybe we're dealing with the
same type of situation here with the Cowboys. I don't know,
but you haven't probably since the IMMITTT Smith holdout back

(01:24:10):
in nineteen Like in ninety three, and ninety four whenever
that at ninety three with Emmitt, we haven't had it
really reach this point of saying I want out goodbye Dallas.
Now this is a new generation. Bring you a little
bit more in tune with the youngsters. We tend to
cry and kind of say goodbye a little bit quicker.
I guess I'm just done here. It's like, bro, you

(01:24:30):
just started today.

Speaker 1 (01:24:31):
What do you mean. Well, I appreciate it. I think
that there is a certain sense of.

Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
Maybe childishness on the case of Michael Parsons, but I
get it.

Speaker 1 (01:24:45):
I completely understand if your.

Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
Bosses not even get your name right and talking about
the amount of games that you missed and it's not
the right amount of games. And then you add to it,
he's basically laying out that you're not that important by
saying the cheers were louder for Ceedee Lamb last year
than they are for Michael Parksons to pay him. I mean,
this isn't wrestling. It's not like the Holkster ri ip

(01:25:07):
going towards one side and then going to the other
side to see which one's louder. I mean, come on, Jerry,
what are you doing. I've often said, there's a method
to the madness. But Brie, I think you and I
have talked about this a lot tonight. This one seems
like there's not a lot of methodology behind it right now.
It just seems kind of, I don't know, short sighted
and mean spirited from Jerry Jones.

Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
It just seems really ugly between the two, like super ugly.
And did they play and they paid Trey Ferguson last week.
Isn't that funny? That's crazy too.

Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
Get Trey in there, get him with Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:25:40):
Yeah, that's important. That must have a priority.

Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
By the way, I.

Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
Really liked my analogy I came up with earlier. I
know you and Mark kind of no sold it. But
Jerry Jones has become like that person that plays too much,
like settle down him and knock your ass out.

Speaker 1 (01:25:53):
That's what Jerry's become. You know. He's trying to kick
your feet out from underneath you.

Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
He's trying to he's trying to get you, I don't know,
hooked up with the wrong person just to be able
to make fun of you. Jerry's played too much now
and now we'll see if he ends up paying for it.
It got old, It got old.

Speaker 3 (01:26:09):
Old, and that's where that's why I think this is
it got old, and this is why it'll never happen again. Like,
I don't think this will ever happen with another player
again with the Cowboys. I mean, I'm sure there'll be
some drama and stuff, but this type of contract issue
kind of thing, like, I just don't think it'll happen
again because of how ugly this got.

Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
This this is not pretty right now, and I'll be
real curious to see what the response is from Dallas.
You know, Stephen Jones came out this week and was
kind of called I don't want to say called out,
but they asked the question. It's like, hey, there's some
people that think you guys like the drama, and Steven
Jones is like that couldn't be.

Speaker 1 (01:26:47):
Further from the truth. But I mean, now we've got
the ultimate drama.

Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
Do you think they ran in a high five to
each other, Jerry and Steven after they saw this from
I think they saw this today from Mike Parsons, who knows.
All right, two other quick stories, so we'll get to
Breeze three. I say quick, but we got what about
ten minutes left in the segment Number one, our very
first show that we did way way way back in

(01:27:14):
when it was in March, whenever we all got to
hang together. There was a story that broke that I
had a lot of fun with because I live in
a city that doesn't have an NFL team and probably
never will. But whenever there is a franchise that might
be near its end, whether it's lease at a stadium
or an owner that decides they want to move, I'm

(01:27:35):
always going to throw my city's name out there, because
why not. So the Bengals were having some issues with
their stadium and more specifically the county where their stadium
was located, and it reached the point where, you know,
again deadline spur action. We've all learned that from Andrew
Brand on Twitter. But we're to reach the deadline that

(01:27:57):
basically everyone was gonna let pass. And I mean there's
starting to be odds put out there on where Cincinnati,
the Bengals and Joe Burrow could be playing in the
future if if they could not come to a lease
agreement with Hamilton County in pay Corse Stadium.

Speaker 1 (01:28:17):
And when the odds makers.

Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
I think it was bet Online, dot ag or someone
put out future odds for the Cincinnati relocation, one of
the top picks was Oklahoma City. Ah, I started to
prepare my sideline spot to watch Bengal games in Oklahoma City.

(01:28:40):
We would have to obviously restructure and reimage them because
there's no Oklahoma City Bengals.

Speaker 1 (01:28:46):
Makes no sense.

Speaker 2 (01:28:47):
But unfortunately, much to my chagrin and maybe for the
betterment of the league, the UH the Bengals in Hamilton
County and pay Corse Stadium.

Speaker 1 (01:28:58):
Officially got their deal done today.

Speaker 2 (01:29:01):
The team announced they finalize their agreement with Hamilton County today.
It runs through twenty thirty six, with ten additional option
years and calls for four hundred and seventy million dollars
in funding for renovations of the new stadium. The agreement
calls for the Bengals to provide quite a bit of

(01:29:23):
that one hundred and twenty million dollars towards the renovation
of the stadium.

Speaker 1 (01:29:26):
So what would that be a little.

Speaker 2 (01:29:28):
Under a third of the amount of money needed all
right to carry the one fortif Yeah summer. But I
will say this, of all the cities that I've been to,
I don't know if there is a more and Cincinnati
read and Cincinnati Bengal fans. You might disagree just because
you live it every single day. I went as a

(01:29:50):
fan that ubered and got in and out super easy.
I don't know if there's a smoother ingress egress that
I've ever had than when I went to a Redsgate
and it was good. It was a big, nice crowd
a night, and I remember thinking about the Bengals being
right down the street.

Speaker 1 (01:30:06):
I mean, what a setup. Right, It's right. I mean,
it's a gorgeous setting number one, and everything is right there.

Speaker 2 (01:30:14):
So upset that I'm not able to sit here and
control more and get the Bengals Oklahoma City, but happy
to see that at least one issue from Cincinnati, and
one of the first issues we had fun with, stories
that we had fun with on this show is finally
come to a head. Here's the second thing. Brie has
a brilliant mind. She is constantly thinking of ways to

(01:30:35):
make this show better.

Speaker 1 (01:30:36):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:30:36):
One of those is to get rid of me, but
in all reality, the other is to always have bits
and topics, conversations, things, whichever way you want to look
at it. And when you started diving into a couple
of weeks ago, hey we're getting close. We're getting close
to football. Let's dive into every single week a different topic.
And we cheated a little bit last week because we

(01:30:59):
were talking someone about overrated storylines, right over hyped storylines.

Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
But we didn't really get into specific teams.

Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
So Brie here at eleven past the hour, way early
in the morning, we will not be beholding to any
of these. I came up with three overhyped off season
teams in honor of Breeze. Three three overhyped off season teams,
and I want to know if you're buying or selling them.

Speaker 1 (01:31:24):
Mark, you jump in here too, so you ready, Yes,
I did use this.

Speaker 2 (01:31:29):
We'll make sure I give you the right because I
use the win totals from and this was this was
courtesy I found it on Yahoo.

Speaker 1 (01:31:39):
I think it's bet MGM.

Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
So these are three teams that I think are overhyped
heading into the twenty twenty five season. At number three
on the list with an over under just all discipline
with an over underwind total at ten and a half.
The San Francisco forty nine ers, WHOA, I think that's
a little overhype. Now, I'm not gonna lie to you.

(01:32:01):
I am a believer in in Rock Party. I'm a
believer in Rock Party. I think he's pretty good. This
has nothing to do with him. I think there's some
deeper issues in San Francisco right now, and I don't
know why you're selling that. Maybe looking at San Francisco

(01:32:24):
as an overhyped team would be a good way to
put it on.

Speaker 1 (01:32:27):
I say ten and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:32:28):
Yeah, they're at ten and a half right now, same
win total as a Detroit Lions. Yeah, because you do
think they would have a you do think they would
have a back bounce back here too, right?

Speaker 1 (01:32:42):
Yeah, you would.

Speaker 3 (01:32:43):
Assume so, but I don't see that happening.

Speaker 1 (01:32:46):
Okay, So you're saying maybe Sam, and then I kind
of pulled back.

Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
I'm like, how height does San Francisco being because Detroit
is right there as the second team at ten and
a half. Now, I'm afraid to mention Detroit is overhyped
because that means Chris Bpfett would want to fight me.
But it's kind of I think both of those teams
at ten and a half, I mean that's a big
over underwin total. You know that means you're going to
the playoffs and probably winning your division. But ten and

(01:33:12):
a half just seemed really high to me for not
just San Francisco, but both of those teams.

Speaker 3 (01:33:17):
I think like the Lions obviously though that's gonna be
way under. I think they're going to be so bad
this year. I honestly do be careful.

Speaker 1 (01:33:25):
Now, you might get in shrouble.

Speaker 3 (01:33:26):
That's fine, I'll take the I'll risk it. But for
the forty nine ers, I actually see them kind of
being stagnant, like don't I don't think they got better,
and I don't think they got worse. I think they're
just kind of just gonna like they're just kind of
in limbo. So I think that's going to be under
for That's what I think. Okay, I've mark what are
you thinking?

Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
Am I am? I?

Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
If I put San Francisco is one of my three
overhyped teams, buying or selling.

Speaker 7 (01:33:50):
That as it over hyped, I'm gonna say not overhyped
because I've been waiting for San Francisco to basically get
back on their feet and do what they were doing right,
because they've been seemed like they're out of their mind.
Their running back was messed up, and then going crazy

(01:34:10):
about Purdy whether he gets the money, don't get the money.
Whether he's a good quarterback or not. Everybody's going crazy
for San Francisco, and you know what we hoped that
they would do, and they got so close and then
for some reason everything blew up for various reasons.

Speaker 3 (01:34:26):
Well, Brandon Ayuk still out and then Debo's gone, right,
so all you like, all I could think of is
what you got, Ricky, you got, Ricky, Piersoll you got
You're getting older and he's really really hurt, like all
the time. CMC also a little hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
By the way, did you see, Oh my gosh, some
of you people just have too much free time. Somebody,
somebody threw the gift out of when the late the
last pope that just passed, when they kind of rolled
them out in public to make sure that everyone's like, oh,
he's okay, and he was not okay, right, he kind
of waved his hand and looked terrible. Somebody tweeted that

(01:35:07):
and said San Francisco forty nine ers management wheeling out
CMC to let everyone know he's gonna be okay this year.

Speaker 1 (01:35:14):
I laughed so hard I was crying at that. That
was just brilliant. It was just brilliant. That's great. Yeah, right,
You're like, I'm good, I'm heading.

Speaker 2 (01:35:22):
So I'm getting bogged down here. Okay, I'm sorry, San
Francier number two. This is a homeistic one. But Denver,
oh my gosh, I get it, Colin, your buddies with
Sean Payton. That doesn't mean that Denver is going to
be this unstoppable force. They wisely locked up Cortland Sutton.
I'm a fan of bo Nicks, but also people are
learning how to defend Bonnicks a little bit more. And

(01:35:43):
whenever you're bragging about his passer percentage, by this problem
is aired. At least I think we set a record
for the most aired promo in the history of Fox
Sports Radio with Collin's promo about Kleb Williams. I think
we set a record. Boys, it's amazing. But look at
who bon Nicks and the Broncos down the stretch last year.
You know, it's not like it was a murderer's row.
And I just I'm not a really big believer that

(01:36:06):
they're all that better. I will say, but you've seen
it firsthand. You know what Sean Pate can do. It's
a pain difference. But at nine and a half as
an over under and as much as they've been talked
about this offseason, give me Broncos, the Denver Broncos as
an overrated team.

Speaker 3 (01:36:24):
I'm telling that I don't agree with you.

Speaker 1 (01:36:26):
That's right, I get it, that's fine, but not even.

Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
Like yeah, yeah, eighty percent Sean Payne. But I do
like b Nix and I do like their offense looks
good and their defense also looks pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:36:39):
What do you think, Mark? Oh no, no, you're not wrong.
You're wrong. All these things that you're saying are one
hundred percent right, one hundred.

Speaker 7 (01:36:45):
Percent over ray.

Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (01:36:49):
Oh, Mark's with me, Okay, very good.

Speaker 3 (01:36:50):
I mean they're like their running back situation worries me
a little bit, like I think it's going to be
a committee, which I don't know makes me like a
gen nervous. But I love Troy Frank so much. I
love and I think Marvin m Junr Is finally going
to break out. So I don't know, I just and
I do like bo Nix a lot, I really really
really do. So no, h yeah, I'm gonna take the

(01:37:11):
over on that, like I'm selling that.

Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
I think the other team that I am selling a
lot crazy is in Minnesota Vikings. The Minnesota Vikings. By
the way, I tweeted this is this week, thank you
ESPN and Fox Sports, because you guys finally got a
little practice footage of JJ McCarthy so we could quit
hearing about his greatness while watching his one NFL appearance

(01:37:36):
in a quarter of action against the Raider scrubs. So
I'm grateful that now we have a few other highlights
than what he did against the third teamers for the
Las Vegas Raiders. But I am not I don't know.
I'm just not a big believer in the Minnesota Vikings
right now. I think they're over hyped, and maybe to
a certain degree, this is unfair because right now, at

(01:37:57):
least on my timeline, it's one person that's been over
hyping them, like hel So maybe this is a me problem,
but I just you're still looking at him. Whether would
I say nine and a half for the Vikings?

Speaker 1 (01:38:08):
Is that right? Eight and a half? I'm sorry, yeah,
so's it's lower than last year.

Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
But still I just feel like I feel like those
that are somewhat believers in the Minnesota Vikings this year
are way off.

Speaker 1 (01:38:22):
Now you probably are buying, aren't you.

Speaker 3 (01:38:24):
I can see you liking Ja Ja, Yes, and I do,
but I've kind of heard a few things recently that's
kind of made my eyebrow raise a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:38:34):
It's tough to and it's tough to decide when you
hear those things. What's okay? Well, is that legit? Because
Patrick Mahomes through seven picks in his first eight days
of practice whenever he took over his starter.

Speaker 3 (01:38:44):
But I believe in Kevin O'Connell and I love Justin Jefferson.

Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
He's already battling a hammy.

Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
Yeah. So I mean I think I was really strong
in them, like a few weeks ago, but I could
kind of see like if they went under, I guess
I wouldn't be So that's selling.

Speaker 7 (01:39:01):
Yeah, you say, like football was making the vikings had
to be a place where Aaron Rodgers wanted to go exactly,
and they were hyping it up. Well, he wants, he
really wants to go over there and follow him Brett
Farr's footsteps, and it's like no, not really, no, bring
it back five steps.

Speaker 2 (01:39:18):
And that's another thing too, that just their involvement in
the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes is legit or unlegit. Wait, that's
not a word, legit or non legit as they actually were.

Speaker 1 (01:39:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:39:31):
It's just how sold are you on JJ McCarthy or
at the very least his healing from his injury last year?
Is there anyone breathing you would like to add to
your overhyped teams this office?

Speaker 3 (01:39:43):
So you know how I feel about the Steelers. I
think that's over hyped, for sure. I think Aaron, I
think that's going to be an under And I think
they're also at eight and a half. I think they
were them and the Vikings were both at eight and
a half, so they are and I think so obviously
Aaron Rodgers going to Pittsburgh, I think that whole situation,
I don't know how everything's gonna fit. It looks like

(01:40:05):
him and Mike Tomlin are getting along, so that's awesome.
And then I think we were talking about a little
bit earlier. But the Patriots, I'm not really buying it.
I'm not really buying all that hype, whatever little hype
there is, I'm not buying it, Like I have no
belief in that. So I think those are my only two.

Speaker 1 (01:40:21):
Aaron Rodgers kind of went to the mattresses this week. Yes,
he did for Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 2 (01:40:26):
But there you go in advance of Breeze Three's Breeze three.
Excuse me, I'm doing my part, Eddie to show you
that I can do three things as well too.

Speaker 1 (01:40:37):
But no, I consider overhype teams.

Speaker 2 (01:40:39):
I think that we're getting a little bit every single
year we do this with every single year. We do
this with a team like Cincinnati, whom I like a lot,
But again, they got to keep bro healthy. They got
to keep their receivers healthy. Every year we do this
with the Chargers. They're nine and a half and then
over and under. Right now, I mean, is this second
year of hardballs when you start seeing teams really take

(01:41:01):
advantage of that.

Speaker 7 (01:41:01):
I think they're supposed to crown the Chargers. You know,
every year it's supposed to be the one this year because.

Speaker 1 (01:41:09):
Every year, Mark, you're onto something. Every year we're supposed
to crown them.

Speaker 4 (01:41:12):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:41:13):
I do feel different about them this year, but maybe
to Sagers like I'm drinking the kool aid because Sager.

Speaker 1 (01:41:18):
Has been around to Saga too much. That's I think.

Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
So, all right, quick break, Breeze three is next right

Speaker 1 (01:42:09):
Not one, not two, but three. It's entertainment. It's good.
It's Breeze three.

Speaker 12 (01:42:20):
Ah.

Speaker 2 (01:42:20):
Yes, it's like a jolt of energy to get you
going on the kaya West coast. If you're trying to
stay up on the West Coast, and if you're just
waking up on the East coast, this is the juice
you need.

Speaker 1 (01:42:32):
It's Breeze three. What you got tonight? Breeze?

Speaker 3 (01:42:35):
Okay, So I don't know if you saw this, but
Michael Phelps is agreeing to give the Baltimore Ravens swimming lessons.
Marlon Humphrey posted a video online.

Speaker 1 (01:42:47):
On in and he's a big Ravens fan too, by
the way.

Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
Yes, and Marvin Marlin Humphrey posted the video saying that
one in three did you know that one in three
Ravens cannot swim? What? Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:43:03):
That So if they were like, hey, we're going to
put you in the pool and we're all going to
swim as our exercise, the mar the Ravens would be
in big trouble.

Speaker 3 (01:43:13):
Yes, that would be. And apparently I think they just
got a new aquatic center or a center within their
training facilities, So I think that's what kind of happened.
So just kind of which I think that's such a
cute idea, like, oh help us, like we have had
a swim and it worked because he agreed. He was like,
oh I got you or I'll be out there, YadA YadA.

(01:43:33):
So anyway, so I just thought that was a really
good idea. So if you had a choice to have somebody,
whether or not it's like whether it's an Olympian, an athlete,
a singer, a wrestler, just because I feel like Hull
Coogan passed away to come and would be able to
teach you something that they're really good at or that

(01:43:53):
they've obviously created a career or craft. After what three
people would you choose?

Speaker 1 (01:44:00):
Okay, working on this right now.

Speaker 3 (01:44:02):
Okay, So my first one, I kind of went chalk
a little bit. I went Steph Curry just to teach
me how to shoot.

Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
That's if I want nice, nice, well done, but.

Speaker 3 (01:44:12):
Just because I I just think that that shot is
just like unbelievable, just forever and ever, just being a
splash brother. Just to shoot threes like that, backwards, frontwards,
just all over the place, that would be incredible. I
was gonna say Kyle Korber, but that's just so biased
because I love Kyle Karber so much, so I have
to be like, you know, I like to talk about

(01:44:33):
shooting like that. I mean, Kyle Korber has a really
nice shot though, seriously, and Ray Allen too, but again
something Steph Curry is just so unbelievable, So that'd be
number one. My number two I went Kevin Garnett to
teach me how to trash talk, because I am not
a good trash talker, and then I'm very very sensitive. Okay,

(01:44:55):
well I could be better, right, I can up my game, right,
I could be I would be better. I could be better,
especially I work with a bunch of guys and everybody's
just constantly talking us, and I could keep up like
maybe like a good like seventy percent of the time,
but I could be elevated for sure. So I feel
like Kevin Garnett could really really really help me with
that on, you know. And then because we talked about

(01:45:19):
him a little bit earlier too, Jew Breese just like
that leadership quality and just like just getting everybody kind
of pumped up, and just like that team building kind
of aspect of him. And I think a lot, you know,
most quarterbacks do have that will sum mostly, you know,
but there was just something so special about him and
just complete again bias aside, there's just something very very

(01:45:43):
special and unique about everything that all of his teammates
have always said about him that I just really admire.
And so I would love that kind of like aspect
of like learning that kind of like people shore, which
I think is really important.

Speaker 1 (01:45:56):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
So I had a little bit of everything, So I
went like physical, like you know, stef cry if I
could like to learn how to shoot Kevin Garnett trash shocking,
because that's incredible Larry Bird also honorable mention for the
trash shocking because I like, I know, just growing up
just hearing like all the things that he also was brilliant, insane,
really he was amazing at and he would never think

(01:46:17):
right like you would never never think. And then and
then obviously Drew Brees. So those were my three.

Speaker 1 (01:46:24):
I like that, this is a good one, all right, Mark,
which striction did you go?

Speaker 7 (01:46:28):
So she gave me the clue of what the topic
was about. The first thing I came to mind was
if I can get somebody to teach me about writing
a screenplay in movies, I would go with Clint Eastwood.

Speaker 1 (01:46:42):
Okay, I think he's got a lot of success.

Speaker 7 (01:46:44):
Yeah, I mean he can write her Western and just
you know the various things that he'd done, so that's
you know, Clint east would writer director stuff. And the
next person I thought of was guitar lessons from Keith Urban.

Speaker 1 (01:46:57):
That would be great.

Speaker 7 (01:46:58):
Oh, I like that a lot like that would be
nice and honorable mention Eric Clapton with the guitar lessons also,
and then my third one would be piano lessons with
Elton John. That would be great. And then one more
honorable mention, I like it golf lessons with the late

(01:47:18):
Sam Sneid or Ben Hogan.

Speaker 1 (01:47:21):
One of the greatest swings of all time.

Speaker 7 (01:47:22):
The greatest swing is that he has clubs about him,
but slamming Sammy Sneid, just those ghost guys. So about golf,
So between Clint Eastwood, Keith Urban, Elton John and various
people for the various things that I would like to
have lessons about.

Speaker 1 (01:47:37):
It's a look as well. Is a good one. It's
a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:47:42):
I I think Mark, you were on at what I
was thinking, because I looked at things that would be
like you didn't breathe. You're like, hey, you're around a
lot of dudes, a lot of trash talking. Get Kevin Garnett.
You can be riding that trash talking game.

Speaker 1 (01:47:54):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:47:54):
No, if aans or butts, I'm a golfer, a terrible,
terrible golfer.

Speaker 3 (01:48:00):
Careful.

Speaker 1 (01:48:01):
Can I tell you quick golf story though? For fun?

Speaker 2 (01:48:04):
I finally last Sunday, I was sitting around the house
and I was like, I think I want to.

Speaker 1 (01:48:08):
Go play golf, and my wife never lets me do
anything that she said, no golf, go ahead, that's right.
You don't have any friends.

Speaker 2 (01:48:16):
We belonged to a club here, so you can just
kind of go and slide in. So I went and
I played, and I was really and I got there
and I was I didn't even warm up because they're like, hey,
if you want to go off, you can go off
on the back nine right now.

Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
And there's nobody. There's nobody coming for a walk. Nice.

Speaker 2 (01:48:30):
So I went and t eat off on the back
night and I hit a really good drive and I
put my second shot kind of short, and when I
went to get my putter and my sandwenched out of
my bag.

Speaker 1 (01:48:40):
They were missing. Oh, oh my god. So I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (01:48:45):
You know, I've got very creative kids, so I don't
I don't know what the new trend is in social media.
So I thought maybe my daughters were in one of these.
Hey we're going to hide something from our parents every
day to see if they ever find out when it's missed.

Speaker 1 (01:49:00):
I don't know if that was some stupid video trend.
It was not. It's it's gone. It's my plutter is missing.

Speaker 2 (01:49:06):
I don't know what happened to it, but I literally
I just was like, well, automatic two putt, right, isn't
that the way you play? So I didn't even end
up going on the green, so that in mine. With
that in mind, I would choose golf lessons from Tiger
Woods and or a short game camp with Phil Nicholson

(01:49:26):
because they get that learn how to do that flop
shot and he does so well, Yeah, so good. So
that's number one. Number two for me. Now this one
is a little bit. I I'm not a bowler, at
least a good one, but I loved the Bowl and
every year we have a competition with the people at
our radio station for real money, and I never do well.

(01:49:49):
My team's finished last every single year. So I would
want bowling lessons from. I had to google up greatest
bowler of all time because the only great bowler I
could think of is Pete Weber from who do you
think you are?

Speaker 1 (01:50:03):
I am right, So I came up with Walter Williams.

Speaker 2 (01:50:06):
Walter Ray Williams Junior forty seven titles in his bowling career,
So I would want bowling lessons from Walter Ray Williams
Junior nice and then you were you.

Speaker 1 (01:50:21):
Broadening the horizon here? Mark you going with you know
other things.

Speaker 2 (01:50:24):
I would want to learn how to train from Chuck
Leadell or a UFC fighter that you might consider to
be in great shape, right, Chuck's maybe taking a few
too many blows to the head. But you know me,
I'm a workout guy now, at least I'm trying to be.
You can't tell yet, but I would like that. I
would like to learn how to prepare for a fight,
even though I'm never going to fight anyone from a

(01:50:45):
badass and I think Chuck Ladell would be.

Speaker 1 (01:50:46):
That person, right.

Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
Or how to use performance enhancing drugs with Mark Lguire.
I like to learn how to do that, how to
how to smoke weed and still pass a drug test.
Who was it that got the Wizonator ontarios it or
something like that. I mean, I just there's so many
options that are out there. Bre it doesn't it doesn't
have to just be relegated to sports. You doesn't have
to just be relegated to the real world too.

Speaker 3 (01:51:09):
I was gonna say, like Ronda Rowsey, I would like
teach you how to do like that arm bar, like
some kind of like self defensing.

Speaker 2 (01:51:14):
If anyone messes with you, you got the rowsy arm bar
that you'd be able to learn in a heartbeat.

Speaker 7 (01:51:19):
Alle Holmes, could you teach you how to kick?

Speaker 2 (01:51:22):
She had a massive, massive front kick if you wouldn't
want to mess with her? Does anyone have any other
bowling suggestions for me? Because I really ran out.

Speaker 1 (01:51:29):
Of pro bowler. Earl I think that was the other
God that was that?

Speaker 7 (01:51:32):
The other I think was that Earl And somebody Earl
is a great great bowler used to be that road Lot.

Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
Yeah, oh wait, hold on, it is that Steve Earl.
That's the singer it is. Uh, you're onto it though,
because Earl.

Speaker 7 (01:51:45):
I thought it is Earl Anthony Earl Anthony forty.

Speaker 1 (01:51:51):
Three titles, three time Player of the Year award.

Speaker 7 (01:51:54):
I mean, you see a lot because they used to
do bowling on there a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:51:58):
I'm watching the highlights right now.

Speaker 3 (01:51:59):
I don't know anything about bowling. I think last time
I bowled, like I was like four shots in at
a Christmas party and like I that's a problem.

Speaker 17 (01:52:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:52:08):
My sister is the bowlder in my family. And she
had a ball shoes and I mean she's she's the bowlding.

Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
Mike Blake, my dad. It's so funny. My dad's awesome.
He's the best. Get to go see him this next
week and he uh, he's really into bowling and he
doesn't get to bowl anymore. He's a little older, and
I don't think he's kind of like me to where
he's not really trusted to be out in public because
he could overserve himself. Notice that I know that. I
say overserve yourself. It's not like you can blame anyone.

(01:52:35):
It's your own fault.

Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
Yeah, it might be a family thing.

Speaker 2 (01:52:39):
But when I tell you he loves to bowl, I
I'll go over to his house and it'll be a
like they're big Cardinals fans because with him in Saint Louis,
and it'll be like a Saturday afternoon.

Speaker 1 (01:52:48):
Where I would go over to his house and need
to have bowling on, Like, what are you doing dad?
He's like, Oh, they got this new technique.

Speaker 2 (01:52:53):
I'm thinking about trying it out, because guys don't bowl
the same anymore. They like have two hands on the
ball and they spin it whenever they throw it.

Speaker 1 (01:53:00):
It's a little different world.

Speaker 2 (01:53:02):
But give me by the way, rip Earl Anthony passed
away in two thousand and one.

Speaker 1 (01:53:07):
Since we're paying tribute, knowmage, to all the great bowlers.

Speaker 7 (01:53:09):
Here the character from Kingpin, Bill Murray's character, he was
a great bowler, crazy guy.

Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
Well, and if you remember correctly, the best part of
Kingpin was whenever.

Speaker 1 (01:53:22):
Well, there's so many great parts of the movie. Have
you ever seen kingpinbreed?

Speaker 4 (01:53:25):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
I don't think so. Yeah, I know, I do need
to watch it because everybody talks about it.

Speaker 1 (01:53:32):
I believe it. Well again, I can't believe it was
nineteen ninety six.

Speaker 3 (01:53:36):
That seems kind I was like two years old.

Speaker 2 (01:53:38):
But Bill Murray's character was Fernie McCracken big Earn, and
he was the guy. But Roy Munson was unstoppable until
he had a tragic injury involving the ball Retriever and
then suffered from alcoholism until he found Ishmael Board, who
was going to change the world as a bowler. But
the problem was the Amish. They did double. So when

(01:54:01):
he heard that he was had a two eighty average,
he didn't realize that he would bowl eighteen frames our
twenty frames and not just you know the ten that
you normally do.

Speaker 1 (01:54:10):
You gotta watch it. It's well worth your time.

Speaker 2 (01:54:13):
Hey, put it on the list of movies breeis to
see Kingpin.

Speaker 1 (01:54:17):
All right, there you go, there's a breeze three.

Speaker 2 (01:54:18):

(01:55:22):
couple of audio pieces I wanted to get to before
we got out of here. First, we brought this up earlier.
How about Aaron Rodgers sticking up for his man Mike
Tomlin this week?

Speaker 1 (01:55:32):
And what is it?

Speaker 2 (01:55:33):
Sounds like he's doing an in ring promo when you
hear the fans around him.

Speaker 1 (01:55:37):
Mike T is the man.

Speaker 19 (01:55:39):
Any hate, disrespect and the ILK is complete and utter.
Mike T is the man from day one that we
talked on the phone in the off season. Was never
talking to a head coach. I was talking to a friend.
I have crazy respect for him. The way that he
leads the role, the way that he talks in the

(01:56:02):
team meeting, the way he is in the practice. The
surprise has been just what a great duty is, what
a great leader he is on top of what I
already expected, which was already high based on what I
thought from Afar, but being able to see it in
person is incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:56:18):
I mean, come on, it sounded like he was in
the middle of an ae W or WWE event.

Speaker 1 (01:56:24):
And let me tell you about Mike Thomin.

Speaker 2 (01:56:26):
You tell Amaron Rogers, I mean, was that even at
that was so fantastic. Meanwhile, I'm glad my man Shady
Sean brought this up earlier. I think one of the
coolest things that happened this week was the honesty from
cam Ward, who's quickly becoming one of my favorite non
raiders in the NFL.

Speaker 20 (01:56:45):
I just think we're a very meter right now, from
my position to upfront to the receivers position. But at
the end of day, all starts with me. I just
I just don't think at where we need to be.
But we got we got a little bit of Thomas,
So every day we get better as a who. We're
a young team, that's no, it's huge. At the end day,
we got to come with the right mindset every day
and come to work.

Speaker 1 (01:57:05):
We're very mid right now. We're very mid right now.

Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
I mean, you've got to appreciate that, right And then
there was this, I mean, cam Ward talking about his
times and when he gets to this, when he gets
to the facility, I'd.

Speaker 20 (01:57:17):
Say, yes, sir, I've grown up watched my dad wake
up at four thirty doing the job he didn't like.
So no, if I can't wake up early and do
what I need to do for a job, I do
like I shouldn't.

Speaker 21 (01:57:26):
Be playing football, and that goes to everybody in the
locker room.

Speaker 20 (01:57:28):
If you can't have the expectation for yourself that you
want to be, whether good or a great player, and
want to put the work in. Oh, I I just
think that how it should go. I just think good
things only come to those who work.

Speaker 2 (01:57:41):
By the way, as somebody who wakes up every day
now at four thirty and I get to.

Speaker 1 (01:57:47):
Do a job that I love.

Speaker 2 (01:57:49):
I know if I made even a percentage, a large
percentage maybe of what cam Ward made. I mean, I'm
doing all this again, right, But I love it. I
love it so much to hear your quarterbacks say that
whenever he's got his payday, you know he's again he's

(01:58:10):
set for life, just based on getting drafted number one overall.
But to hear him say, hey, man, my dad worked
a job that he didn't really like, went to work
every day at four thirty in the morning to support
his family. I think I can get in here and
try to support those who helped make this possible for
me and show them their investment was worth it. I mean,
can you ask for anything better out of a quarterback?

(01:58:31):
At least at least in what he's selling you right now.
We'll see what happens when they play, but at least
for what they're selling you right now. Then you had
Caleb Williams who was asked about feeling any pressure this year.

Speaker 21 (01:58:43):
Pressure is in a pressure is not a thing for me.

Speaker 13 (01:58:46):
I don't, you know, think of life that way in
the situation that I'm in, and so you know, we
keep chugging along, and you know there's gonna be ups
and downs, and it's not you know, it's not my
job to care about what the outside, you know, noises
and things like that.

Speaker 21 (01:59:00):
Take care of everything in here and go out there
and play.

Speaker 13 (01:59:03):
You know, And I didn't you know, I I know
we didn't win as many you know games as we
wanted to last year, but you know I didn't.

Speaker 21 (01:59:11):
Uh, I didn't go twenty and twenty in interceptions and
things like that.

Speaker 13 (01:59:16):
So you know, take it for what you want, but no,
pressure is uh privilege. Pressure is a privilege. But you know,
in the situation that I'm mad, I don't think I
have pressure.

Speaker 2 (01:59:24):
By the way, Uh, somebody said pressure is a privilege
like five years ago, and now every single person says
it NonStop to Twitter before we wrap this thing up, Breeze.
Three Craig checks in my three this week. Piano lessons
from Herbie Hancock, Herbie Hancock, what a great line from
Tommy Boy, Sprint training from you, Saint Bolt, and golf

(01:59:46):
lessons from either Tiger or Jack Nicholas. Honorable mention for
the three drawing lessons from stan Lee All my daughter
would love that, Nature Boy, Guitar lessons from Stevie ray Vaughan,
Rip party lessons from Dennis Rodaman, and rock lessons from
the Stone Tiple Pilots. By the way, the Stone Tiple
Pilots could also be your party lesson people. And our
tweet of the night comes to us from Mustang Manium,

(02:00:08):
my guy down in Dallas who writes think about this.
In the first thirty years of Super Bowl history, the
Dallas Cowboys were in eight games in the same amount
of time since zero. How does that happen other than
in competence, greed, and a lack of focus on winning,

(02:00:29):
is my guess. And playing stupid games. You played the
games and everyone in the end you got away with it.
Now your buddy hitting the top of your beer bottle
with his bottom of his too many times. He tried
to kick your feet out from under you too many times.
Cowboys might have screw it up here, but remember Miles
Garrett asked to be traded in February and was signed

(02:00:51):
the largest contract by March.

Speaker 1 (02:00:53):
There's still time. We'll see you next week. Have a
great Saturday.
