Speaker 1 (00:00):
Doorless hat, no Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Oh what's up? Everybody? Happy Sunday?

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Thank you for tuning in, hanging out with the all
Pro Safety Carry Roads and myself on this Kobe Bryant
Black Mamba Day eight twenty.

Speaker 4 (00:15):
Four, eight twenty four.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yes, you want to know what I did today, Carrie?

Speaker 3 (00:20):
When I got here, I'll purple ono, you do, I
do have purple on. So I got here and I
got a notification from the sneakers app on my phone.
You know where the sneakers drop and you can get
you know, releases of that time.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
The exclusives. So I'm minding my own business. I'm here.
It's like ten forty five.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I'm about to start at eleven am with the updates
for you know, Steve Hartman and VJ and my phone
sneakers app.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
The Kobe Brian Vault is open.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Kobe.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I don't even know what that meant, but your girl
clicked it, uh huh. And then they had all of
these shoes from Kobe available.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
But you had to be quick.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
You had to like, yes, yes, yes, just take my
card charge it.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
It was like the Disney Halloween, the Scare Fashion.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Yes, it was like a special event and your girl
got two pairs of Kobe's two.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Pairs, y'all. I got the Kobe.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Dodgers that I couldn't get the first time they came around.
And the only reason I got so lucky is because
their kids sizes and I fit in a console.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
My goodness.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
And then if I would have told anybody that, but.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Why no, they're cheaper. It all works out for me.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
And then I got another pair that I don't even
know how to describe them to you, but I'm gonna
show him you on the next break.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
But that's how I started my day.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
On Kobe Bryant Day sounds amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
Oh, I mean, it's always it's crazy that it's been
it seems like a long time now since he's since
he's been gone, but also very present, ever present.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
It will always be ever present, forever, and.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
So when you talk about the legacy of him and
just today it's it's it's always layered, but always good
thoughts when you think of him right now. I mean,
it's a beautiful thing to see so many people celebrated,
and like you said, you get to make.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
A I did a purchase Laker hater number one over here,
and there's still something about Kobe that, you know what
I mean, Like, is such a wonderful human gone way
too soon?

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Right, great player.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
I remember his final final game where he dropped like
sixty points.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Remember it was during the like I want to say,
it was headed out.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
To like the finals right at the end obviously, and
the Warriors were also on their perfect season so far,
not the perfect one, but trying to break the record
for right.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
And I kept going back and forth between.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
The two games because I wanted to watch that, but
I wanted to watch Kobe's final game, you know, Like
I watched Kobe so many.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
I hated the Lakers, but watched all the Laker games.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Why was Kobe so beloved here in La You've been
a pretty much in La native, so like, because man.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
He delivered.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
He delivered in big moments in big games, you know,
And there were so many times whe It's like I
wanted the Lakers to lose, and he would save the day.
He would save the day somehow. He just was always
you knew he wanted to play all forty eight minutes.
You knew he was going to stomp on your throat
every opportunity he had. But off the court obviously, like

(03:10):
everybody loved Kobe. It's just on the court, it's like, no, no, no,
I'm gonna I'm gonna take you down.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
I don't care.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Yeah, it's crazy to sound like he's like, you know,
my dad's a big Laker fan. I think my whole fan,
my brother as well. And so they I took them
to see him in the amazing the Western Conference semis
against US against Phoenix in Arizona the year. I mean,
he was going crazy that game. But just seeing him
live and seeing him on the court, you know, not
gonna talk about where I would sit it because you'll

(03:36):
you'll talk about me later, So no, I'm not gonna
do it. But I was really I was. I was
really up close and personal and saw him and they
got to see him and they were so happy. But
for him, it always felt like for me, it was
like he's the anti hero, right, He's somebody that's going
he's going to get the job done. He's going to
save the day, which you just say it, but also
have this like recluse nature about him off, like mysterious
nature off off the court, which actually brings more people

(03:59):
to theron.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Yeah, so that's kind of why I feel.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
One mysterious is good, and I just appreciate that he
expected whether you were Shock or Kevin Love or coming
off the bench, he expected the same from everyone.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
He didn't care. He wanted you to put it all
out on the floor along with him, because that's what
he didn't just ask you to do it.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
He was doing it too, and every every every step
of the way. And that last game when he dropped
those sixty points because nobody was playing defense on him, obviously, Uh,
it was.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
It was emotional.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
I even shed a tear because I just was like,
I'm never gonna watch a player the way I watched Kobe,
even though it was out of out of you know,
quote unquote hate as a Clipper fan, I'm never gonna
you know, like that was my childhood, that was me
growing up, and like it's just never gonna be the same.
Like there's there is no player. I mean, very close
is Man and Machado, as we've talked about.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Very close is ma.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
I am Machado who I sometimes hate watch, but Kobe
just and if you have not read his book, I
know it's yours, but the Black Mamba Book, it's great,
It's wonderful, dives into a lot of stuff from Kobe.
So on, Kobe Bryant day, we think of you, We
all miss you. Gone way too soon. But I did
score to Kobe shoes today. So that's how I am

(05:14):
honoring him. And I'm sure a lot of people are
honoring him as well. I don't know if Jerry Jones
is honoring anything but himself, but I don't mind it.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Hold on, have you watched The Cowboys?

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Yes? I have.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Have you watched all of it? I have not watched
all of it, but I love it. Carrie.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
I what episode are you on?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I'm on four?

Speaker 4 (05:33):
You saw the best episode? Then?

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Oh yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Episode three? Well, episode three for me is so so good.
And it's just because for me, I was a forty
nine fan of a kid, okay, and so I literally
I hated the Cowboys, right, and so I actually look
into the like behind the scenes, behind closed doors and
see how they were operating, to see like how they
you know, they were really good seventies eighties started to

(05:58):
wind down, and you knew they were kind of at
the end of eighties, and then them renewing that rivalie
with san Fran and then getting that sent perspective total
and that episode and to see Dallas breakthrough. Even though
I didn't like them, I actually got a little bit
more respect for the watching a documentary. It was so good.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
And it's funny because, like I didn't, there's so much
of everything when it comes to sports. You got quarterback,
you got receiver, you got hard knocks, You've got anything
you want. So I was like, okay, another story here,
let me see, right, I was hooked ten minutes in.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
I know, it's like, all right.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Jerry Jones sitting in a desk, it's a little like dark,
and he starts.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
He's good.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
He knows how to speak to the camera, he knows
how to deliver his lines. And then it's like starring
all of these players. That whole intro was so well done.
I was I was hooked at that point, right.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
And also this was going on when I was not
born right right.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Or in Costa Rica as a as a young young lady.
And then so I didn't I know about America's team,
but I don't know the story of it, right, I
didn't through it.

Speaker 7 (07:00):
Well.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
I don't think a lot of people got to live
through it until now because it wasn't that's covered. It
wasn't it wasn't shown. It was covered obviously, but it
wasn't shown.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
No, like Tom Landry got a parade for being fired.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
I've never said I.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Did not know.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
I had no idea I And some people are saying, like,
obviously this is to make Jerry Jones look good, and
it's like, I don't know if that's.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
It, because I think Jerry Jones is who he is.
This is not changing that.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
This is this is he's a businessman, and it's just
showing you the beginning of it. But I'm super into it. Obviously,
Like you can say that maybe there's some things that
aren't one hundred percent true because it's being told through
the eyes of obviously Jerry Jones, but you got all
of these people, and like, I don't I was surprised
to see Jimmy Johnson on there because the story is
that they had like a fallout, right and they don't.

(07:48):
And so I'm just curious to see how it's gonna end,
and if that it gets touched on, you know, the
whole I didn't know about Troy Aikman getting injured and
then they put in the backup and then they go
to the playoffs and he's still uses the backup. Oh
my goodness, Carry, there was a lot and I am
so into it. But that's not the only thing going

(08:09):
on in cowboys world. That is not no and the
big thing is Micah.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Parsons and Jerry Jones. Here's my thing.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Carry, I'm confused because Jerry Jones has come out. He
has said a couple of things and one of the
descriptions of like what I interpret is the agent Michael
Parsons and Jerry Jones.

Speaker 8 (08:25):
Is this not doing the old mother dad deal?

Speaker 7 (08:29):
How many times have you seen the little rascal so
clever go in there and Mama told him, my unc
you're not going to get it, and goes into Daddy,
who only sees him in that after five and a
half none wants to love him, and says, you can
have it, son, you can have that before dinner. And
he goes back in and says, Mama, Daddy said I
could have it. I'd say mom and Dad had been

(08:51):
around since the beginning the time. I'm not gonna go
for that year. That's what's happening.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
Yeah, the mom and dad thing is not going to
happen again, you know, I've done it.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
He went to his mom and mom said yeah, And
he came back to me and that he said that,
Mom said I can have. That's how that's Jerry Jones's
very husky from the South. A few shots of whiskey before. Absolutely,
But no, he's the thing about Jerry Jones and this
Michael Parson's deal is you just saw it in a documentary, right.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
So, well you haven't.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I haven't got there.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
But just the just the EMMITTT. Smith Park, Oh yes'
Simmitt Smith is the NFL leading Russians still. He was
coming off leading the league in Russian three two straight years.
In the third year, he wants a new deal. He's
their bail cow. He didn't pay him into week two. Like,
this isn't something that he's afraid of going going the

(09:40):
distance with right now? Does it mean it's gonna work
out again? No, in that situation, it did, But it
doesn't mean it's gonna work out. But he's comfortable in
his skin in what he's doing. So this isn't something
that he's he's stepping out on the on the on
the lamb, on the ledge and like swinging swinging for
the fences hoping that it's gonna go out there, out
the out the park. No, he knows he's been so

(10:00):
this isn't a big deal for him.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
That's what I'm confused about. It seems like the agent
is not handling this.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Well, I've never heard throughout you know my life. Oh,
Jerry Jones is cheap. He takes forever and he does
it on his And.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
One more thing before you go in.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
But the thing about Jerry Jones and being cheap and money, like,
even in the beginning, he's a self made man, right,
and this isn't something he wasn't hand handed this. There's
so many things about even how he paid players when
he had to pay them that obviously it's not the
same now he's made a lot more money since then.
But yes, when you make money, and you know how

(10:36):
hard it is to make it, you don't just give
it away frivolously.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
So Prescott and then he just gives him a lot
of money.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Well yeah, but he's still waited a year.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
But he still he did it. And that's and I
feel like that's where it's like.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
There are reports that he offered him more more guaranteed
money than any non quarterback and that in their one
on one meeting where the agent was not present, Jerry
Jones claims like they had a deal in place and
it was just kind of like the agent was the
one that said no. So I obviously the truth is
somewhere in the middle, right, Yeah, But Micah seems like

(11:09):
he wants to be there. I know he fell asleep
on the trainer's table for like five seconds.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Bo is laughing five seconds.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
But it seems to me like Michael wants to be there,
and I don't know what other moves he has because
the Cowboys have him for the next what three years
if they want him, and they can franchise tag him.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
So what are what are you fighting for? Where? I
feel like Jerry Jones wants to give you this money,
but what is it?

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Why?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Does?

Speaker 2 (11:34):
I'm confused? And I feel like I want to blame
the agent.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
It's agent and ego ego, Right Like when you're one
of the top players and it's your turn and you're
in line to get that big deal, to get that paycheck,
you wanted to stack up or be better and on
the other end, probably better than the guy that just
got the deal before you. Right, So Miles Garrett's a
guy that he compares himself to. I'm sure mm hm.
I don't think he's as good as him. I think
he's right there. But when you go through that process,

(12:00):
even myself, right, some people, I mean, I would say
I'm not even I'm not better than a Reid. But
in the process and the negotiation process ed Red Troy,
Paul Malou, myself, we're in the same We're in the
same thing. I'm usually the alternate. There are the two
pro bowls, right cool, But when my time for the
deal to come, I I was looking for the same
number they were getting or above, and I got above,

(12:20):
but just a little bit.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
But that's the process of doing all. This is the
agent and you just said it.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
The agent and the relationship between the owner has to
be really solid for this thing to get to get
done and get progressed and progressing the way you want
it to.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
And right now you can tell they're all they're all
at odds.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
But it seems like exactly they're all at odds because
is there do you take a price a slight price
cut and in the sense of like and I don't.
Michael Parsons, I believe has said that he doesn't need
to be the highest paid at his position. I believe
he has said that. Maybe I'm wrong.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
That doesn't make sense though, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Because right, but because he wanted to build a good
team around him, obviously, So do you take a slight
pay cut to play for a team like the Cowboys
because Miles Garrett is in Cleveland?

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Yeah, and he wanted to leave a dollar game in Yeah,
this team is ready, man, this team is ready to compete.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
You're ready with seven quarterbacks?

Speaker 4 (13:12):
No, they're not.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
And so you wouldn't you take a slight slight not
not something that's going to be disrespectful to you, but
a slight pay cut to play for a team that
is the Cowboys, that is a brand.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
It depends depends on how ready your team is to win. Now,
if Michael Parsons feels that team can win, which I
don't think a lot of us do, but I mean
they can surprise they got talent if they can win,
and you know that you taking a slight pay cut,
whatever that is, can help the team spend money on
what needs to be spent on. And you guys are
having the conversation like this is what we're using that

(13:45):
money for it's communication, and I don't know if it's
been to that degree, and I think that would make
it easier for him to accept a little bit like
a lighter deal.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
I just like again, I'm really just kind of pointing
my finger at the agent because, like you said, Jerry
Jones is.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
A businessman who who has been doing this for years.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
I don't he doesn't give any It's always under his clock,
in his however, he wants to do it, but he
tends to pay the players.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
He tends to do it right.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
So it's just like I and Mike again, seems like
he wants to be in Dallas.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Our producer Bo Benson today, Hi, Bo.

Speaker 9 (14:19):
Hey, how's it going?

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Guys?

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Happy to have you here.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
We also have Iowa see him on the ones in
twos Iowa, Sam hi ye.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Look at his corky hat. You see that hat. He's
got a little corky on it. That's adorable.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Bo.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Any thoughts on this whole Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (14:33):
Thing looks like a jack grab it from here.

Speaker 9 (14:35):
I'm sorry, go ahead, No, I do want to say,
like carry you mentioned that Jerry Jones doesn't spend frivolously. Yeah,
I think he does I think he does too, because
he doing this every single year where he waits to
pay his players, he's costing himself more money. Yes, and
I hate to toot my own horn here or any like.
I'm not trying to be biased, but look at what
the Eagles do in their own division, where they're paying

(14:57):
guys a year or two early, getting them on a discount.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
The Eagles are paying A. J.

Speaker 9 (15:01):
Brown and DeVante Smith way under what those guys should
be making for what they do. They're arguably paying Saquon
Way under what he should be making, and they're about
to extend Jalen Carter next year, who's gonna be the
best defensive tackle in football before the year's over, for
less than he should be making too. I just think
I think that Jerry's desire to keep himself in the
conversation as we sit here talking about him for twenty

(15:23):
minutes to start the show. I think it's really been
hurting the Cowboys for much longer than people will admit.
And also, you could not pay me to watch the
Netflix documentary about the Cowboys. I don't care, could not
pay me to watch them.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
I'm going to pay you.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
I am going to pay you so that you can
try it and then when you enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Just get me back to.

Speaker 9 (15:44):
Twenty, well from NCI twenty from you to talk.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
That's a business man.

Speaker 9 (15:52):
If you can't sit here and talk about how you
were on the same tier as Troy Palomelo and Edward
when it came to contracts.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
I didn't say what I love. Hey, we were criminally underpaid.
So don't don't.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
Don't take it that way.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Make that paper boo boo.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
But we're gonna convince a bo to definitely watch that.
We've got so much to talk about.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
We're gonna be chatting next with Arif Hassan, who covers
the Minnesota Vikings for wide left. We're gonna be talking
to Adam Kaplan later today. Easy as one, two, three, four,
carry on or off. Also, you're gonna give me advice
on fantasy football later. You didn't even know that. I
didn't even tell you we're gonna do that later. Well,
we'll get there, so don't go anywhere. We are just
getting started. He is Carrie on Monty and this is

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Whatever Sam is on right now? I want a little
bit of that. What coffee are you drinking? Sam?

Speaker 10 (16:52):
It's actually a multiple Taco Bell breakfast burritos there it is, Wow,
left over.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Welcome me through my day.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
You're welcome.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
I'm glad that you got an extra one too. Welcome back, everybody.
It's Fox Sports Sunday. He is the all pro safety
Carrie Roads. You can follow him on ex Twitter at
Carrie twenty five Roads or on Instagram at Carrie Roads.
And I am Mancy Bolanos and you can follow me
across social media at Moncey Bolanos. Yesterday, I swear I
texted our producer Bo Benson, and I was like, there's

(17:23):
something really eerie happening with the Vikings. Why have we
heard nothing about JJ McCarthy this entire time and then.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
This morning mornings about the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
So we are going to talk to Arif Hassan, who
covers the Minnesota Vikings for Wide Left and just covers
the NFL in general.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Arif, are you there? Aref Are you there?

Speaker 11 (17:51):
Hi?

Speaker 12 (17:51):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 7 (17:52):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Yes, we got you, I got you. There we go.
Thank you so much for joining us.

Speaker 12 (17:56):
How you doing I'm good, I'm good.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
How are you doing?

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Dandy on this Kobe Bryant day as we were talking
about at started the show.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
But let's dive into it.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
I'm sorry it has been eerily quiet about JJ McCarthy
when everyone is anticipating.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
This rookie making his debut for the Vikings on a
division that is already tough as it is. Why has
it been so quiet?

Speaker 3 (18:18):
What can you tell us about JJ McCarthy and how
he's developing with Justin Jefferson.

Speaker 12 (18:25):
I find that really fascinating because I know that, like
here in the local Minnesota media market, people are talking
about him all the time. I think, but I think
that it kind of makes sense the way you asked it,
because there hasn't been a ton of national eclosure for McCarthy.
He only played a couple of drives in one preseason game, right,
so there hasn't been a ton of discussion. We don't
know that much about him, and I think that that's

(18:45):
really by design. Kevin O'Connell wants to make sure that
everything that the Vikings are doing is kept kind of
in a house, whether that's to prevent people from scouting
or to you know, reset expectations or what have you.
A lot of it's been done with a bunch of
reps in in joint practices, which a lot of coaches
now see as a replacement for the preseason, and you know,

(19:06):
there's been a lot more I guess, discussion about what's
happening at the backup quarterback spot. So I think that
that's kind of that sucked all the energy out of
out of kind of figure out what this rookie is
going to do, or not rookie, but first year player
essentially is going to do.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
That was the question I was going to ask.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
So we I mean, J J. McCarthy aside, seems like
the quarterback position was a little thin. Is the Corson
Wentz signing Is it more insurance or reassurance for the Vikings.

Speaker 12 (19:33):
I think it's I think it's insurance. I think that
the way that they view the backup quarterback spot in
a way a lot of teams around the league view it,
is that they want to have a young developmental guy
in right now that looks to be the rookie from Minnesota,
Max Brozmer. But they also want to have a veteran,
and they're really kind of disappointed with both what Brett
Rippen has done and what Sam Howell did, So they

(19:54):
shift Sam Howell off, they released Brett Rippin and they
bring in Carson Wentz, who is a veteran, and I
think that that veteran is going to allow the Vikings
to have another coach, essentially to have somebody with another
set of eyes, with kind of an understanding what's going
on in the field to help prep because backup quarterbacks
are enormous for game day prep. And I think that's
the reason that they brought him in. But you could

(20:16):
do that with Sam Halle. You could do that Bret Rippon.
So they do want somebody who can play at a
higher level, and they anticipate that someone like Carson Wentz,
you know, has able to do that, because I don't
think they want to throw in this undrafted rookie Max
Brosmer in their right of way. Even as impressed as
they are.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
There have been reports in the past that maybe Carson
Wentz is not the most coachable guy type a personality,
and obviously that was maybe back then in twenty seventeen,
after he got hurt an MVP season, But how do
you think that's going to help mentor if that personality
is still present, that type a personality in the locker room.

Speaker 12 (20:53):
For sure, I think that to some extent, you do
want your backup quarterback to want to start, and it's
really us how they handle that desire, right, and so
you know whether or not they can push that aside
for a little bit for a while and be a
good teammate. I think that that's kind of the question,
and I think a lot of that is built around
the expectations you have going in. I mean, Carson Wentz

(21:15):
in Philadelphia, he was the starter. He was supposed to
be the starter. He was always the starter, and then
when that doesn't look like it's going to be the case,
he gets kind of resentful. But he goes to Kansas City.
No chance is he going to start, and I think
he knows that when he signs, and I think that's
kind of you know, what your expectations are going in
will set you up for whether or not you're going
to see disappointment and how you react to that disappointment. Plus,

(21:37):
he's a lot older now, and you know most people mature,
not everybody for most people mature, you know, as they age,
and I think that that's going to be part of
it too. I think, you know, he sees, hey, we
don't know that Jjim McCarthy is going to be good, right,
kind of sackledge for me to hear, say in Minnesota, but.

Speaker 13 (21:50):
We have no idea.

Speaker 12 (21:51):
And so if he's not, that gives Carson Wentz another
chance to the coach who has turned around the careers
of a couple of quarterbacks already. I mean, I don't
know that Daniel Jones would have find that had he
not just been on the roster just kind of around
Kevin O'Connell. So I think that that's kind of an
ideal situation for Wentz where you know, he knows what
the expectations are, but also there is a possibility that

(22:13):
he might be able to take over, and if he does,
he's in a really good environment for that.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
Rave There's been a lot of quarterback talk obviously, that's
that's the head of the snake. That's what we like
to talk about. Is glamorous. But he needs weapons and
so we you know, we got jaj We know we
got Justin Jefferson, and they have Addison, but there seems
to be a third position that they're looking for. I've
heard rumblings that they're trying to bring in or possibly
looking to bring in, Adam Thielen.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
What what are the reports on that?

Speaker 12 (22:38):
Yeah, so it sounds pretty definitive that the Vikings have
reached out to the Panthers about acquiring Adam Deeling. I
don't know what I'm feeling thoughts are. I'm sure the
Panthers won't make a decision without at least having some
understanding of what his thoughts are. Whether they'll you know,
you know, respect his wishes, that's a totally different thing.
But we don't know kind of how the Panthers feel
about that. They've got two first round picks, one of

(22:59):
whom I think we probably a little bit disappointing. They've
also got Jalen Coper. They've got, you know, a decent
wide receiver corps. But I feel like you still wouldn't
want to let go of someone like Adam Feelin, who's
a really reliable route runner, especially when you've got, you know,
a lot of expectations fut on Bryce Young, He's only
had you know, a half season of good play, and
so I think that they'd want to keep him. I'm

(23:19):
actually kind of surprised that the rumors are as strong
as they are. But you know, the Vikings could use
Adam Feelin because you know Adamson's going to be out
for a little bit, He's suspended for three games. But
even even without that, you know, the depth is looking
like a really big question. You've got players like Jalen Naylor,
who they like a lot hands problem you can't always
have that, you know, Rondelle Moore out for the season. Yeah,

(23:41):
it's just you know, another injury. It's it's really tragic.
And then you've got a lot of guys that you
can be excited about, but you don't want to necessarily
rely on people like you know, Lucky Jackson, who's a
UFL star that looked pretty good in camp and for
one preseason game with Sayer Thomas who's been on the
practice squad for three years. Like, yeah, you could be
excited about those guys, but that's a totally different ball
and been relying on them.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Ye, speaking of guys that you might get excited for,
I know Jordan Addison is going to start on the
start of the season, is suspended, but Jordan Mason. What
can you expect from him at the running back position,
especially maybe to start the season after, you.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Know, having not a terrible year with the Niners last year.

Speaker 12 (24:17):
Yeah, I thought it was a smart pickup. I think
the Packers knew this about Aaron Jones. The Vikings learned
this about Aaron Jones. You can't, you know, have him
carry the ball twenty times a game. He's really spectacular
if he's got the ability to kind of limit that
number of carries. But you know, the durability is just
kind of not a thing that you know, most running backs,
including Aaron Jones in the league this year have, And

(24:38):
so bringing someone in that you can kind of reliably
drive by drive, you know, get four or five yards.
He's actually a pretty decent receiving weapon, even though that's
not really how a lot of people view him. That
allows them to put him into certain drives, and I
think the Vikings prefer drive by drive running backs as
opposed to situational like a third down or a goual
lying guy. But even if they decide that that doesn't work,

(24:59):
Mason is going to be a respectable goal line guy.
And the Vikings were truly awful in the red zone
and the goal line last year, especially in running situations,
and so I think just having a guy that you
feel a little bit more comfortable about with that is
going to help. They're going to reduce the number of
touches for Aaron Jones. Hopefully that makes them more efficient
per carry, and then when they don't have them on
the field, they don't have to rely on running backs

(25:19):
that you know, maybe the vision isn't as quick like
it's like with Ty Chandler, or maybe just doesn't have
kind of a contact balance you need, like Cam Akers.
You can have somebody like Jordan Mason who's going to
reliably get you four five yards if you know that
that amount is blocked up for him. So I think
he's going to get a sideable chunk of the carries.
But I think Jones is still going to be kind
of the leader.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
If you see how this thing works. Right, we had
you on for an hour. We haven't talked about defense yet,
but I'm going to go to the defensive side of
the ball right now. See what happens. It's it's such
an offense driven league, but I'm going to switch to
the defense. And obviously we know how explosive Minnesota offense
was last year. The defense was pretty good to start
the year as well. Where do you see them stacking
them right now with that defense and the aideless one

(25:59):
to Harrison Smith?

Speaker 12 (26:01):
Yeah, oh man, Harrison's gonna be a really big part
of that defense, like always, But I think the defense
is poised for something big. You know, defense is just
a little bit more hard to predict than offense year
to year. People adjust to it pretty well, you know,
players leave, schemes change. You know, it is tough, but
you know, they were a top three you could even
argue at top one defense last year, certainly for at

(26:22):
least portions of it. And in this year, I think they,
you know, expect to repeat those those performances to be
a top five, top three defense, hopefully a number one
defense again. And I think Brian Flores obviously an enormous
part of that is scheme is unique, you know, which
is pretty unusual just for the NFL in general. Usually
we talk about all these different defensive schemes. Most coordinators

(26:44):
run very very similar stuff. Brian Flores is really unique
in that capacity, and so how much you can continue
to adapt as people respond to him is a big
part of it. But you know, obviously the players matter
that secondary outside of Harrison Smith and Byron Murphy, a
lot of question marks. I josh Man tallis a lot
but there's you know, a lot of things he can do,
a couple of things he can't do, and some of

(27:04):
those things were lost when cam By him, you know,
left Randy Napolis. So they're having Ceo Jackson step up.
The other cornerbacks tons of question marks. Isaiah Rodgers, Kai Blackman,
jeff A Kuda. That one's tough, but everywhere else looks
really stacked to the gills. I think, you know, you've
got Jonathan Bernard and Andrew Van Ginkel, pro bowl edg
rushers behind them, Dallas Turner, who everyone's really excited about.

(27:26):
They brought in Jonathan Allen, Javon Fargrave. I mean, this
is a star stud of cast and the most underrated
player on that team. Maybe Blake Cashman has been really
outstanding for them when he's been on the field, and
they get to pair him with a blitzing superstar like
eisen Pace. They're going to put a lot of pressure
on opposing quarterbacks and if that's going to be enough
to kind of carry a little bit of that secondary,

(27:46):
you know, where Harrison Smith and by her Murphy are
doing the best as they can. It could again be
a top three, top five defense. And it's hard, you know,
in the past ten years to find one where you
have that many questions in the secondary.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
But this could be that, you said, Cashman, and I
got ptsdave with my Yankee, So I'm sorry about that.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Oh that's good. You are listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
We are talking to a Reef Hassan, who covers the
Minnesota Vikings in the NFL for Wide Left Last one
here speaking about stacked Vikings are in a stacked division.
What is Kevin O'Connell's mentality going into this season, because
the expectations are there, Yeah.

Speaker 12 (28:24):
I mean, I think it's going to be beat the Lions.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Right.

Speaker 12 (28:29):
They've been a thorn in inside forever and now, not
just in the way that the Lions have been dominating
a bunch of teams around the league recently, but specifically
the Vikings. I mean the way that they've blown the
Vikings out of the water, both offensively and defensively, requires
a certain level of focus and attention to make sure
that doesn't happen again. That doesn't mean you can ignore
the Packers. Jordan Love can create big plays with kind

(28:50):
of whatever's happening. But you know, I think that they've
got a little bit of a better handle with what
happens there. They have to pay attention to what Ben
Johnson is going to be able to do with the Bears,
of course, and that Chicago Bears defense. I think that
goes pretty underrated too, just because if I've at the
offense was last year, but it didn't really good defense.
You have to pay attention to all of those things.
But I think you know, eyes on the prize. You
got to beat the Lions, There's no question about that.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
So if they beat the Lions but don't win the division,
is that is?

Speaker 11 (29:17):
That?

Speaker 7 (29:18):
Is that?

Speaker 4 (29:18):
Okay?

Speaker 12 (29:21):
It's not college football. You gotta win, you gotta okay.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Yeah, no, I hear you.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
You were awesome. We appreciate it so much. We would
love to chat with you once the season gets going.
Good luck to the Vikings and enjoy the season.

Speaker 12 (29:34):
Thanks for having me.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
That is a ref Hassan and you can follow him
on ex Twitter at Arif Hassan and f L A.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Lot of information at a lot of a lot of
a lot of positive affirmations coming out of Minnesota, which
is a good sign even with the uncertainty.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Sure right, No, he seemed real confident and and and
good with the information that he had about the vikings.
But I'm sure local news is talking about Ajan McCarthy,
but like national.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
News, we're at nobody's even mentioning it.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
Well, how about I give you a rundown on what's
happening around the world of sports. Carry but you're gonna
cut to me lots Monty. Yeah, all right, I don't
want to say the score, but I'm gonna the Padres
have taken the lead from the Dodgers. Carry your Yankee suck,
My Dodgers suck. We all suck together, We all suck together.
Padres are up two to one, top of the sixth inning,

(30:27):
Mariners Cal Rawley.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Home run number forty eight.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
Here forty eights are passing Salvador Perez for the most
tim runs by a catcher in a single season. Remember
we were like, don't do the home run thirty, it's
gonna mess up your thing. And the Mariners are up
on the A's eleven to on top of the fifth inning,
Reds and Diamondbacks are one tied out one apiece top
of the six. Cubs have taken the lead from the

(30:51):
Angels four to one, top of the six, and the
Giants are now edging the Brewers in Milwaukee four to
three bottom of the ninth, with the Raisin Cardinals, who
were in a rain dela but now back in action,
raised one zero bottom of the fifth inning. Some of
the games that finished already well, the Royals avoided the
sweep as they outscored the Tigers ten to eight, Oriols
edge the Astros three to two. Braves held on four
to three against the Mets. NFL News, what all Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Tied the game.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
I was like, what are you pointing that Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Tied the game against the Padres in San Diego. It's
two to now top of the six. Thank you for
that for that as Cyst there, NFL News. We were
just talking to our Reef Hassan about the Vikings today.
The Vikings signed quarterback Carson Wentz and they traded Sam
Howe to the Eagles. Raiders quarterback ad and O'Connell fractured
his wrist on Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
He's gonna be out six to eight weeks. What about
the Browns.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
They're releasing quarterback Tyler Huntley today and ESPN reports at
Cleveland the plans to keep all of its other four
quarterbacks on the fifty three man roster, and we're going
to talk about.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
That a little bit later here. Carried back to us, Garrie, could.

Speaker 4 (31:49):
You pull in double duty? Yeah, like a ball.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
You guys do what you gotta do.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Steve Disager is in the house, though he will be
here to help us out the next couple of hours,
so don't worry. I have to do double duty the
whole time. Just a smidge, just a smidge. What are
your thoughts on Carson Wentz really, because I feel that
he his I want to say that, like the dip
in his career after the injury obviously in twenty seventeen,

(32:16):
having an MVP season, there could be nothing worse to
your ego than the backup quarterback delivering in the most
important game.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
Right, Yeah, it happens. I mean, we've seen that with
Drew Brees and Tom Brady, right, and we saw how
that turned out. That situation wasn't the same all the
way throughout, obviously, but eerily similar in that in that regard.
But for Carson Wentz, I think he's turned the corner
as far as knowing that it isn't his team on
any team he's been on now. And so you talk
about going into a situation in Minnesota with being humbled

(32:46):
and having you know your ego already. You're not the star,
you're not the star, and you know why you're coming
in right, so you can kind of be that bridge,
be that guy that stays ready and can win games
for you. He did it in Kansas City. He played well,
he learned a lot under and you read and Patrick Mahomes.
So I think just from that perspective alone, he'll be fine.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
But let me say the counter to that. Yeah, you
went to the Chiefs. Obviously you know you're not going
to throw Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
This is a situation where it feels like, if I'm
a veteran quarterback, maybe I can to throw on a
rookie or first year you know, quarterback. But then at
the same time, it's like it's Kevin O'Connell gonna revitalize
his career just like he did for Kirk Cousins. Sure,
Sam Darnold, and he's only thirty two so it's like
there is a lot of.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
Upside for him and he can't.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
It's just like if you're trying to get somebody to
be the veteran in the clubhouse. Yeah, I feel like
I'm surprised obviously limited Pickens. But it's like you mentioned
James Winston last week, James James Winston.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
What did I say, James.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
I don't know a basketball player. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Yeah, him, like somebody like that maybe would have been
perfect for you to bring in us a veteran to
help a JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
But again, slim Pickens is where we're at, is what
it is.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
Slim Pickens.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
But I mean, I'm sure they probably I would say
if they got Carson Wentz in a situation right now.
He's just been so well coached in his last stop
with Andy Reid, so I don't think there will be
that much that he needs to Kevin O'Connell speaking has
to add to the sauce and make that sauce work
and taste good. So I think for him, I like that, Yeah,
for him for him to go chef now you knower. Yeah,

(34:22):
but he comes in there and just a guy that
can be ready to win and you said it. He's
in the situation where he thinks that he may be
the better guy. I think a lot of backups think
they're a better guy, so I don't think that would
be a problem. I think for him, he knows he's
not going to be the starter right away. But J. J.
McCarthy's coming off the injury. Yeah, we don't know. If
he's we don't know. For him to go there, that's
an ideal spot for a guy like Carson who could,

(34:43):
if something was to happen, come.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
In and be the guy and revitalize his career. Yep,

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Coming up.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
On the other side, if it's a secret, it's meant
to stay a secret.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Carrie, what are we doing? We're gonna talk about this.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
On the other side, he's carry the All Pro safety
I am MONSI blanyos, don't go anywhere. What's up everybody
happy Sunday Kobe Day eight twenty four. Yes, I tweeted
the wrong day after saying the right date. You guys
had a lot to do, Hoby Kobe.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
Uh. But but we also let's actually let's check in
on I'll watch twenty twenty five. I'll watch twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
Oh, if you guys have never heard that, this started
with Bot Benson, myself and Dan Byer when we just
decided to start keeping eyes on on Lebron and what
he's doing and what he's saying.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
We've also done a little Lebron watch on it.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
So if you guys are wondering what Lebron is talking
about on Twitter for the last hour, golf, all.

Speaker 14 (36:03):
Golf, Lebron Woods, he wishes. First of all, he wishes,
oh my god, literally three hours. Actually he's been tweeting
about it for three.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Hours, three hours, tweeting about about golf because I think
Tommy Fleetwood has officially won the Tour championship. Huh, and
so he's been talking about golf. Yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep.
So that's what Lebron's doing.

Speaker 5 (36:30):
What he say, like, what's what's a What's something that
he said? Was it something insightful?

Speaker 4 (36:34):
Congrats?

Speaker 2 (36:35):
No insightful. No, congrats Tommy Fleetwood.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
That first one feeling is something else, especially after dealing
with adversity and shortcomings too.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
Oh, there it is, no, there it is, Mancy. It's
not about golf. He's still talking about himself. He's talking
about the injustices that happened in his career, and so
that's he always finds a way to tie that in.

Speaker 9 (36:55):
Would you guys like to know the last time he
tweeted about something Lakers adjacent?

Speaker 4 (36:58):
Yes, I would like to know that March fourth.

Speaker 9 (37:01):
Yay, March fourth, when he was named the Western Conference
Player of the Month. The last time he talked about
anything Lakers.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Well, don't worry. We'll keep an eye for you. I've
watched twenty twenty five. I've watched twenty twenty.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
I'm walking out the rest. If I hear it one
more time out there, I.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
Can't watch twenty twenty five, look and eye. He also
said damn and just like that into the water. That
was a tweet an hour ago. I don't know who
hit it in the water, but somebody did.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
Yeah, but he didn't tell us who.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Nobody, Nobody yeah, nobody, baby. You know what nobody should
be doing is really revealing to social media influencers that
your team had a secret meeting.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
Yep, what I'm sorry, all right.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
The Jets Apparently the Jets had a secret.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Had a secret meeting.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
I said, it's not secret because Garrett Wilson told a
social media influencer about it.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
Now can't What do you make of the Jets.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Having a secret meeting at this point, so early on
in Aaron Glenn's tenure as a coach in New York?

Speaker 2 (38:12):
Why do this? Are you worried? Is there something to work?
It just seems a little no, no, no.

Speaker 5 (38:19):
And it's not a secret meeting. It's a meeting, you.

Speaker 4 (38:21):
Know what I mean? Like that, it shouldn't have to
be a secret. It's a team meeting about the expectations
going into the season. I'm sure, And we're gonna clean
up these things. We have to fix these things, and
I'm gonna hold you accountable. I'm gonna hold you accountable,
like these things are normal heading into the season. So
the fact that it's even a thing right now that
was supposed to be kept in house. We do have

(38:43):
in house meetings, Yes, we don't want the press to
of course, of course, but we talked about this. There's
so many outlets and there's so many people reporting on football.
You really have to watch what you say and you
cannot share it. So I've said this word earlier frivolously.
You have to be aware that these people people are
trying to report on things. They're not your friends and
they're not keeping it secret.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
Right, So Garrett Wilson obviously stepped in it by doing this,
because it's like, listen, I know that on a blow dryer,
there's a sign that says, don't put this blow dryer
in the water, even though it's obvious.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Don't happen exactly. So do teammates have to walk around.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
Garrett Wilson now and with a sign that says, don't
tell social media influencers everything we talk about in our meetings.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
Loose lips, sink ships and snitchesches get stitches.

Speaker 5 (39:28):
So that's what you say.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
So do you have a sign though for him?

Speaker 3 (39:30):
Because it's like I thought it would be obvious to
not share with the social media influencer that you had
a secret meeting.

Speaker 5 (39:35):
He just gonna put it on top of my locker.
So every time he walks by sea.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (39:37):
Yeah, just a little, yeah, little off putting.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
Things because there's things that I thought were obvious but
apparently not so much to him.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
On the other side, four quarterbacks on a fifty three
man roster.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
Nope, is that what they're gonna do.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
That's what they say. We'll dive into a carry. Don't
go anywhere. It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
What's up, everybody? Every Sunday?

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Happy Kobe Bryan Day eight twenty four, Black Mamba. In
case you missed the start of the show, I did
tell Carry that I bought two pairs of Kobe shoes
today because the Kobe vault was open on the sneakers
app that's right.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
And one of them I'm gonna sneeze.

Speaker 5 (40:13):
Yeah, uh huh.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
One of them were Kobe Dodgers, and the Dodgers just
took the lead.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
Three run home run.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Dalton rushing.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
All right, all right, wait a good lawyers, at least, hey,
if your team can't win, at least let my team win.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
I didn't say anything, just being rude right now, manci Yes,
the Yankees they got it. They got a four o'clock
game starting in like an hour. Yes, and they need
to beat the Red Sox today.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
They really do.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Because Bo was telling me the last time that the
Red Sox swept the Yankees, right Bo at Yankee Stadium?

Speaker 9 (40:47):
Okay, well, I I simply alerted you to the statistics.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
We don't create the stay I found this.

Speaker 9 (40:56):
I believe it's the first time since nineteen thirty nine
or something like that the Red Sox can do a
four plus game sweep at Yankee Stadium.

Speaker 4 (41:04):
Why why why are you dropping I mean gym today
about my Yankees.

Speaker 9 (41:08):
Again, I didn't personally do that. That's athletics you did.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
And then I said, I was like, Bo, what can
I what can we talk about baseball? But I have
been talking a lot of smack on the Yankees. And
He's like, oh, I did read this about that?

Speaker 4 (41:22):
Oh my god.

Speaker 9 (41:22):
Yeah, there was a light in my eye that.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
But we didn't make it to it didn't make it
to the rundown. I'm just telling you now.

Speaker 4 (41:30):
But it didn't make it all right?

Speaker 13 (41:35):
All right?

Speaker 3 (41:36):
I know more Yankee dog. We'll see how they can do.
Hopefully they can turn it around. But let's go back
to the NFL here, Carrie. Preseason is over now, we're
getting ready for a week one and uh, the Browns
have been obviously the what number one topic of conversation
this entire training camp and and pre season with all

(41:57):
of their quarterbacks and doing this, this and that. And
after their final preseason game where you saw Tyler Huntley
come in in that final drive after Shadoor Sanders was
taking out, a lot of people up in arms feeling
that Kevin Stefanski feeling that the Browns are not setting
him up for success. All I know, Carrie is in

(42:19):
that drive, Shador Sanders was sacked five times. Did you
want to keep him in there to possibly get sacked
again and get hurt? Yep, I'm just throwing that out there.
And people were so up in arms about it with
Tyler Huntley. Tyler Huntley was cut today, Okay, yeah, and
they according to ESPN Adam Schefter, they want to keep
all four of their quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
And today Kevin Stefanski.

Speaker 3 (42:42):
When he was asked about how he has maybe set
up Shadoor Sanders for failure, this is what he had
to say to the media.

Speaker 13 (42:52):
Obviously, I don't concern myself with outside type of things,
but you know, I'm committed to his development, just like
all of our rookies. So we'll continue to focus on
getting our guys better and that's what we'll stay committed to,
and that's what's important to me.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Obviously, wasn't gonna say anything otherwise, but that's what he
said today to the media. Following last night's game, Shador
Sanders did address the media, and we have that clip.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
Yeah, perfect. Can we hear what he had to say
after the game.

Speaker 15 (43:22):
Three days until roster cutdowns. How do you feel about that?
Do you feel like you have a you belong here
on this team? Obviously?

Speaker 6 (43:29):
I think I think overall as a player, I feel
like I put in the work. I feel like everything
I do, you know, I try to do it to
my best and that's all I asked for. So I
feel like everybody feels like, you know, they should be
on the team. If you ask anybody on the team,
would they feel like they belong They belong in they
own eyes. So I feel like I do. But I'm

(43:51):
own player, you know. I think about myself in a
high regard.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
I feel like I do belong.

Speaker 3 (43:57):
So I feel that out of all of the people,
all the stories, all the scrutiny, all the extra attention,
Shor Sanders has handled it the best. Yeah, the better
than everyone else. The media us like we've not handled
it well. He has handled it really well. And the
argument that the Browns are not setting him up for success,

(44:19):
I don't see that. Or the argument that yesterday they
set up Dylan Gabriel to.

Speaker 2 (44:24):
Look better, I don't see that either.

Speaker 3 (44:26):
I don't think anyone walked away and said Dylan Gabriel
is the much better quarterback. If anything, I saw more
in Shador Sanders throughout this preseason. You know, scope of things. Again,
take it with the grand of salt. It is a preseason.
It's not the same. But how how are your thoughts
on it? Because I feel that even Kevin Stefanski and

(44:46):
the Browns are there, they want I feel like they
want him there. They didn't come him today, they plan
on keeping him. I actually think that there will be
a quarterback that's going to be on the move and
it's gonna be Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 4 (44:56):
Yeah. No, it's been some rumlins about that with Kenny
Pickett want to the Raiders now that Aidan O'Connell's hurt,
So there's been some rumblings there. But as far as
this situation goes, I think you know how I feel.
It's the preseason and you talk about setting somebody up
a failure. They're trying to see what both of these
guys have, and so you're gonna put you know, Dylan

(45:17):
Gabriel with it, you know, in a maybe more advantageous
situation with guys that are better players because of they
both had their fair share of that same that same workload.
They both started with the guys who are quote unquote
better and more equipped to play. So Dour came in
on the back end of a game and at that point,
those guys aren't that great yet and they're trying to

(45:39):
figure out how to get it done. So the protection
issue is an issue. You don't want them to get
hurt in that situation. But again, also we don't know
what the rep count was at all, Like we're only
assuming they and making these proclamations based off the information
that we have, and so people making their bold claims
they can do whatever they want. I'm always on the
side of let it play out the better. The better

(46:01):
player is gonna gonna end up taking that position, doesn't
matter where he was drafted. Now, when you do have
love for or an affinity for a guy that you draft,
maybe Stefanski likes Dylan Gabriel more, that's maybe the his
guy that he picked in the draft. That's that's that's normal,
that's normal, that's how it works, that happens. That doesn't
mean he's doing it on purpose to not give Shador
the chance. And so when I hear all those things,

(46:22):
I know it's I know it's a lot of racially
charged stuff that's going on with that as well. And
for me, I just you're in the business of winning
in the NFL, like you don't. You're not afforded the
luxury of putting somebody trying to make somebody get in
their place when you're trying to win. So all of
it just doesn't sit well with me. Yet I need
to see how it plays out. I'm not gonna come
out here and say, man, it's a racial thing. I'm

(46:43):
not doing that. I'm not gonna say, man, he's trying
to set him up fufiled you or that you know,
shoud Door should be in a better situation, like I
don't know that yet. It's only been a couple of
weeks of him in the NFL, him and Dylan Gabriel,
so we don't know, and people saying these things, I
just it does not sit well with me, and you
know me, I hate it when it's so much vitual
animosity about topics like everything's not racial, this could be

(47:07):
we don't know. Like in my heart, I don't think.
I just don't think that's what it is, like trying
to set him up fulfailure.

Speaker 2 (47:12):
I don't think. I don't see that either at all.

Speaker 3 (47:15):
I also feel like Dylan Gabriel and Shador Sanders are
in a situation where like, you have the potential to
make make a name for yourself here, right.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
Joe Flacco is only gonna last so long.

Speaker 3 (47:29):
It's not like there's somebody ahead of you, like Patrick
Mahomes that is gonna be there for the next five
plus years. Right, This guy, Joe Flacco is gonna fall asleep,
you know, on the games when they take him out,
and he's gonna be od on this on the side,
taking a low map when someone else goes in. It's like,
the opportunities are there, and I don't see I one

(47:50):
hundred percent agree with you. As somebody who is always
emotionally talking about sports. This is one of those roots,
like this is the logical look at it, you guys,
they're trying to see what they each can do in
certain situations. And it is the preseason. So it's like
the argument that, oh, Shadoor Sanders held the ball on
too long. Yeah, he looked like he did. But also
he was playing with third and fourth string players, so.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
It's like, is he gonna hold the ball when he's
in a better position like that? Who knows? We actually
don't know.

Speaker 3 (48:17):
But throwing him out there getting sacked five times and
then removing him, I know he said he was surprised,
sure that he was removed, but that's because I think
Shadoor Sanders is a competitor, yes, and wanted to do
that because he wanted to go out there and play
and prove that he can do this final whatever ninety
second drill that they had. And in reality, it's like,
what if they were protecting him for that from that
moment and the guy that went in, Tyler Huntley Pro Bowl,

(48:39):
Tyler Huntley has been cut. Yeah, and that doesn't that
just say so much to everybody was yelling.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
Hold On, made me clear this up real quick. I
hate the whole Tyler Huntley Pro Bowl. He is not
a Pro Bowl.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
I mean, no, he did.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
He did make it, but it was like nine I
agree with him, ninety two quarterbacks set out.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
Relax, man, I agree with you. I just can't help
U say it.

Speaker 4 (49:08):
It was like forma all bro. All it needs to
happen is one time he's a Pro Bowl guy. For
you guys, I did while you were talking. I did
some math here and I think I figured out why
Dylan Gabriel played with the players that he played with,
and why should I play with the players he played
with us. It's because three is lower than five. So

(49:28):
Dylan Gabriel was taken in the third round and should
her Sanders was taken in the fifth round. Huh, So
Dylan Gabriel the Browns, I say what you want, but
the Browns view Dylan Gabriel probably has a better quarterback
prospect than they do should Sanders, So that's probably why
they did that.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
But even if they did, right, it's like not buy
a lot more.

Speaker 9 (49:44):
No. I've been telling people. If Dylan Gabriel was simply
six feet tall, like if he had Caleb Williams height,
who's Caleb Williams is barely six feet tall, Dylan Gabriel
would have gone in the first round. No, I agree.
I think he can do everything. It's just there are
some guys that don't get the genetic talent that you
need to play the sport at the high level. The
Sugar did, but he's not very good.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
Wait, how tall is Dylan Gabriel?

Speaker 9 (50:07):
He is listed at five to eleven but probably five not.
He looks he looks shorter than Kyler.

Speaker 5 (50:17):
He looks shorter than like Bryce.

Speaker 9 (50:20):
Yeah, he definitely looks shorter than Bryce Young.

Speaker 5 (50:22):
Uh, because Bryce looks really really really small out there.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
Bryce is listed at five ten.

Speaker 5 (50:26):
Yeah, it's like you think he's way smaller than that.

Speaker 4 (50:31):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (50:32):
But everything we're saying here is logical. But with this
with Shadoor Sanders, it's everything has been so aggressive, so aggressive,
and instead of just letting things play out and see
what happens, we.

Speaker 2 (50:45):
Want to jump to conclusions.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
And still again, Shadoor Sanders has handled this so well. Yeah,
the whole time, even even with the comments of Dylan Gabriel, right,
the entertainers versus competitors, like, he has handled it so well.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
When the brown and the.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Story that is their quarterback room has been so vitual
on social it's like hard to discuss it, kind of
like Angel Reese, like you, I don't want.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
To talk about Angel Reese.

Speaker 3 (51:10):
I'll talk about it with you, right like you and
I can talk about Angel Reese all day and Paige
Biker's all day. But you put that conversation with people
you don't know, and all of a sudden people want
to fight with you, and.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
You're like, I'm just.

Speaker 3 (51:21):
Trying to talk about.

Speaker 2 (51:22):
The preseason here, y'all.

Speaker 3 (51:24):
And what I can see is that the Browns are
figuring things out, and they're figuring things out for their
future because Joe Flacco is not the future. Kenny Pickett
is not the future, right Like we could agree with that,
even even though a team like the Raiders could use him.
I could see that, especially with Aidan O'Connell. Yeah, he's
been in the league and he has delivered for teams

(51:45):
at certain times, not doing too much, but he does.
He understands his job, played well in Philly, managed the game,
which is what you need half the time.

Speaker 2 (51:56):
But he's not the future.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
So the future could very well, We'll be Shadoor Sanders
or Dylan Great Gabriel.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
But the plays like, we.

Speaker 3 (52:03):
Don't know, we don't know and so let this play out.
Chador is not hurt, Gabril is not hurt, and that's
what matters.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
Let them start the season healthy and let's see what
we're talking about week fifteen.

Speaker 4 (52:16):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (52:16):
That is it, guys.

Speaker 3 (52:17):
It's not that complicated, but it still as complicated. With
four quarterbacks on the roster, right on the fifty three
mins roster.

Speaker 4 (52:23):
It won't happen.

Speaker 2 (52:23):
It won't happen.

Speaker 4 (52:24):
One of them will be a practice player.

Speaker 3 (52:26):
One of them will be a practice player, I think
unless Kenny Pickett gets moved that part and then we
keep like that.

Speaker 15 (52:33):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
Well, you know what.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
We can dive into this and more with Adam Kaplan,
our NFL insider on the other side of this.

Speaker 2 (52:38):
So don't go anywhere.

Speaker 3 (52:39):
He is carry the All Pro safety and you can
follow him on ex Twitter at Carrie twenty five Roads.
You can find him on Instagram at just Carrie Rhodes.
I am Monty Bolonios. You can find me across social
media at Monty Bilanios. Don't go anywhere. We're gonna talk
to Adam Kaplan next. This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
What's up? Everybody Happy Sunday?

Speaker 3 (52:59):
Kobe Bryant a twenty four gone never forgotten, gone, way
too damn soon, that is for sure.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
Fox Sports Radio. He's the all pro safety Carry Rhoads.

Speaker 3 (53:08):
I am Monty Bilanios, and we have our NFL insider,
Adam Kaplan ready to dive into it all. Preseason is over, Adam, Hi,
are you guys?

Speaker 11 (53:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (53:23):
No, mercifully, it's done yet. I was with the commanders
on Thursday.

Speaker 11 (53:26):
That was fun.

Speaker 10 (53:28):
Where Terry mclormer is actually at practice, so that's a positive.
But yeah, we got forty five contractual issues which are
still hanging over our heads here. And but this is
what we call coming up the off week or the
hump week, and then you get to the regular week
the following where the Eagles will host the Cabin.

Speaker 5 (53:42):
This is the longest week ever, Adam, It really is.

Speaker 4 (53:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (53:45):
Well, now see when you were playing, did we have
a bye week or did you just go right into it?

Speaker 11 (53:50):
I don't remember.

Speaker 4 (53:50):
No, we had that little extended week after the preseason
that last reason the game where you don't have any games.

Speaker 10 (53:56):
You're like, come on, coats, let's like, yeah, so what
would you work on, by the way, that week?

Speaker 5 (54:00):
Oh that I mean, we'll be working on game plans left.

Speaker 4 (54:02):
It'll be specific for the first game obviously, but it's
just it is there is an energy, but that just
happened that week off right there. It just doesn't feel
like the season's here yet. When it's like it's here,
but it's not here. So it's a little.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
Tricky, Adam, I had a planned question to start things off,
but you have just derailed it by telling me that
you were just with the Commanders.

Speaker 4 (54:22):
Yeah, So what do.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
You think is going to happen this year with Jaden
Daniels and the Commanders. Obviously blew us out his rookie year,
but if you look at his wins his rookie season,
they weren't against necessarily top tier teams now a much
harder schedule because of how they played. Do you expect
Jaden Daniels and the Commanders to have just as successful

(54:45):
of a season or do you see maybe a slight
step back.

Speaker 10 (54:50):
I think reality will hit them a little bit. Where
you saw what they did. They were twelve and five,
came out of nowhere, they were the big surprise team.
I mean, nothing was close to it was a shocker,
really was. I mean, obviously Daniels was terrific but they
closed the regular season really well. They had the five
wins you get to the postseason. Having to be on
the road for all three games at Tampa was really

(55:11):
good to win. Their defense played well, the Lions had
a number of injuries, they scored forty five points, and then.

Speaker 11 (55:16):
They got boat raced at Philly.

Speaker 10 (55:18):
So let's let's assume the stench of that blowout loss
to a division rival is behind them, and dan Quinn
and the coaches put it behind them, and the players
as well. They're going to be a good team now.
A couple of things, Monty about that division. One of
the things is just ridiculous that we have not had
a back to back winner since. I mean, it's hard
to believe two thousand and four the Eagles had won

(55:40):
four division championships one through zero four. I mean, we
only have four teams of that division. That tells you
about the fertility over twenty years with the Commanders and
the finally back.

Speaker 11 (55:48):
So it to me, you know, I.

Speaker 10 (55:50):
Look at the odds, Monty, and I look at Philly
and Washington. The Eagles are a small favorite over the Commanders.
I see it kind of the same way. But being
with Washington, I don't like to change my mind, this
so called recently recency bias. But I learned a lot
about how things are done there, and you know what
this trents and weaknesses are have a pretty good idea

(56:10):
of it, a little bit better than I would have
had a knock on there. I think it's super tight, Mancy.
I'm expected Daniels because by the way they've sort of
rebuilt their offensive line. Now, the right guard Sam a
Cosmi will not be ready right now. Come back to
an acl which you hurt. He got hurt late last season.
That's a problem. But two new tackles, Josh Carnelly from
when I understand the the rookie right tackle who was

(56:32):
left to college. They think he's real close to being
ready to start it. It will be humor Andrew Wiley
to start the season. But they have a strong roster.
But they have, as I throw it back to you, Monty,
the same issue that Eagles have on defense. They don't
have an a level pass rusher. That is a real
problem for me for Washington and that's why some games
will be shootouts. You hope not, but that's the reality.

(56:55):
And then the running game, now that they've preaded Broan Rompson,
their former starter. You got to ask you, what's the
running game going to look like without him?

Speaker 3 (57:03):
And what's the latest with Terry McLaurin. Any chance that
this doesn't get fixed by week one, I'd.

Speaker 11 (57:07):
Be very surprised.

Speaker 10 (57:09):
See, unlike their divisional foe, the Cowboys, they've handled the
situation with kid gloves like. They haven't said anything about
him publicly. The owner, Josh Harris, is not coming out
and saying anything. They want to get a deal done.
They've had discussions several of the with mclaurin's agent, Buddy Baker,
but as one source told me, they just don't have
a middle ground yet.

Speaker 11 (57:30):
The middle ground, it'll be done within twenty four hours.
It's let's say.

Speaker 10 (57:34):
For instance, the Commanders are offering twenty eight million, he
wants thirty three million. We'll just get to thirty and
a half million, thirty one million, and then you should
get a deal. Now, the issue that he's going to
have is because of his age. He turns thirty soon,
they're going to want to get out of it at
a certain point, and it's unlikely they're going to guarantee
the third year. That's going to be the problem. So
that it's its structure also be a part of it.

(57:55):
But I feel good that something's going to get done.
It's not a lock. But I like that he was
at practice. That was it was good to see that
he was there mentoring some of the younger receivers. But
and then Michael Parsons stuff is absolutely absurd.

Speaker 4 (58:06):
Yeah, we talked about Michael Parsons. I mean, I want
to go there, but I also want to I also
want to go. I want to switch it really quickly.
We can come back to Micah. But I talked to
We talked to a refassan who covers the Minnesota Vikings
and obviously the Carson went signing there. I asked, I
asked him, was that was that signing reassurance or insurance?
And so he was saying it was insurance obviously, but
the reinsurance bar for me, when you have a guy

(58:28):
that hasn't played a snap, it's I could see why
that signing happened, especially the way Carson played in Kansas City.
And maybe you know, got a little bit more ju
ju back with with any reading those guys, I would.

Speaker 10 (58:39):
Say this Carrie with Carson Wentz. His last good year
was with the Colts. Okay, and then he played.

Speaker 11 (58:45):
Really really well.

Speaker 10 (58:46):
Jim mercey uh the the obviously late owner. But Jim
at one source team sorts told me that right at
the end of the season, before they even had their
personal meetings, he made it clear to their personal staff
that that Wentz would not be back.

Speaker 4 (59:01):
Okay.

Speaker 10 (59:02):
Then he went to Washington. He struggled mightily. He went
to the Rams to back up. Then it can't see
it's amazing Carson Wentz at it turns thirty three. It's
amazing how time has passed by. He's now hit Journeymanville.
And let's face it, he hasn't started a game in
a long time. That does worry me. But and then
you mentioned jaj McCarthy who's never started a regular Sea's
an NFL game.

Speaker 11 (59:21):
That's a concern of mine. I have to turn in
my divisional picks.

Speaker 7 (59:24):
Ye.

Speaker 10 (59:26):
That division is really interesting the nfcn If you got
the Bears, who are an upstar team, a lot of
offensive talent, The Vikings are Brian flores Is maybe the
NFL's best defensive coordinator.

Speaker 11 (59:37):
Mix the most with the least, and the Lions or
the Kings of that division.

Speaker 10 (59:40):
But they've got some concerns on their defense, and they
got the Packers are always good but can't win in
the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
I know that's that division is so tough, and I think,
did I say the Packers is going to win that? Massie?
I think I might have to Carrie.

Speaker 5 (59:54):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (59:54):
It's funny.

Speaker 11 (59:55):
I would love see carry you got you.

Speaker 10 (59:57):
And I are seen the same way. Cope's never started
art a game right the regular season? Right, you know
their defense is going to be great, They're super talented offense.
Theve rebuilt their offensive line. But I just can't go
on in McCarthy. Then, yeah, the Packers always good and
then it's just something.

Speaker 11 (01:00:12):
Happens to him. They just can't get over it. I
don't even know that. That'll be probably the toughest division
for me to pick right now.

Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
Yeah, I think the Packers have should be the ones
that have the most pressure to win because Lions losing
their coordinators. Like you guys just talked about a new quarterback,
not rookie, but essentially a rookie quarterback from Minnesota, and
then you have this team that was competitive last year.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
You should win the division.

Speaker 5 (01:00:35):
And Jordan Love should be the best vision should be yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:00:38):
But while I like go, GoF is pretty durable good quarterback.
He's rebuilt his career.

Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
Now you said adorable, you said adorable.

Speaker 11 (01:00:46):
Yeah, he is adorable.

Speaker 10 (01:00:47):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I won't touch that while I'm no,
but he's a really good quarterback. You remember, folks, Sean
McVay wanted him off the team. He had enough of
GoF and it was kind of an ugly divorce. And
then Ben Johnson ironically is now in the same division
as a Bears head coach. Rebuild his confidence and it's
just done a fantastic job. And you can't underestimate when

(01:01:09):
a club brings in two new coordinators. One is never
called plays in Calvin Sheppard and the other one John Morton.
As I understand, it didn't go well with him. More
than Jets, he's called place in college football. So that's
something to keeping on mot I'm glad you mentioned.

Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
That, Adam. That's you made a point that and that's
the reason why I said Jordan Love is going to
be the best quarterback in that division. Is the golf thing.
I think golf obviously it is played. We know how
good he's been, but he's out. He's going to be
without Ben Johnson. So we're going to see where he
really is as that as the guy on that team.
So that's the reason I say, Jordan Love.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
Yeah, Yeah, let's let's move to the Cowboys. Yeah. Are
you watching the Netflix show ATAM?

Speaker 11 (01:01:44):
I haven't seen it. There's like seven Netflix shows. I
know that's one of them.

Speaker 10 (01:01:50):
Yeah, there's one on the My wife found it. It's
I think it's the birth of the Wilson football and
all the history of it. Oh, one of these days
I'll see it. It's it's a big document. I want
to see that. But yeah, and remember, by the way,
I'm fairly certain of this without looking back. Do remember
that the in season Hard Knocks is with the mc east.

Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
If I'm not mistaken, I think it is so another
show that we're gonna have to watch him.

Speaker 11 (01:02:13):
Well, yes, with the Cowboy that would be on HBO.

Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
That's okay.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
But this whole thing with Micah Parsons, I am just
it's hard for me to not point the finger at
the agent.

Speaker 11 (01:02:26):
David will get you know what, I I don't take size.
I don't know the guy. He's one probably top three
contract agents out there.

Speaker 10 (01:02:35):
It just this is again, my job is a reporter
and information gathering in an analysis as well, is to
call it down the middle. But to think Jerry Jones
thought he can negotiate that mega contract which will make
Parsons when it gets done, whenever it gets done, to
be the highest paid non quarterback in NFL history, To
think he could do with the player, not the agent.
And then the agent shot down what Jerry said, by

(01:02:57):
the way, right, So it's what's the why would you try.

Speaker 7 (01:03:01):
To do that?

Speaker 10 (01:03:02):
Now you got the back issue of the MRI I
was cleaned with Parsons back and him laying down there
for a.

Speaker 11 (01:03:07):
Couple of minutes on the table. You know, it's just
this is for even for Jerry Jones, this is the
next level.

Speaker 10 (01:03:14):
It's totally unnecessary, but this is this is why the
Cowboys have won a Super Bowl in thirty years.

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
Is there any update with like George Pickens and the
Cowboys how he's fitting in?

Speaker 10 (01:03:24):
I mean, yeah, good, now he's you know, they have
no planned extend his contract. That he knew that when
they traded for him. If he behaves and does everything's
supposed to that they'll they'll bring him back. He's a
phenomenal talent. You see thee Lamb's got done. As you know,
last year they got Jake Ferguson's deal done. They're starting
tight end, so they felt good about that. And the
thing is, you know, when you look at it, you
got a new coaching staff here. You got a new

(01:03:45):
defensive coordinator, Matt Ebraflus, who's good, who's really not a
he should have been a head coach, but guys a
pretty good coordinator. They don't know about Parsons for a
week one even if he gets the deal done. Now,
if he gets it done this week, he'll be ready.
But we sold this with Chris Chris Jones a couple
of years ago. You remember he got the deal done,
but he didn't play in Week one for the Chiefs
that year, the opener. So the closer you get, the

(01:04:07):
more problematic it becomes. And they got to be at Philly.
Remember they're on a show week on Thursday night.

Speaker 15 (01:04:11):
Mm hmmm hm.

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Last one here from us. Adam, you were talking to
our insider, Adam Kaplan.

Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
Can you Pickett? Is he going to be on the
Browns fifty three man roster or do you think he
gets moved?

Speaker 10 (01:04:25):
It'll be hard to trade him. He's had this hamstring problem,
so he's been hurt. He barely practiced when he was
here last week with when the Browns were here for
join practice with Philly. They're playing all long. They've made
it pretty clear they want to keep four quarterbacks. Dylan
Gabriel has been a boy. After a rough start, he's looked.
He looked really good last two preseas games. I know
that Sanders did not look good. They really want to

(01:04:46):
develop him. Obviously, Flacco's going to start. Watson won't play
the season. You know, their playing again has been what
it has been from day one.

Speaker 4 (01:04:53):
To keep four.

Speaker 10 (01:04:54):
I know today's NFL seems absurd, like three is he
even Some teams keep too, as you know, and they
have one or two in the practice squad.

Speaker 11 (01:05:00):
So it's a little weird the Browns. Man, if Flacco could.

Speaker 10 (01:05:03):
Find some magic from two years ago, where as you know,
we put the team in the playoffs, they could be eight, nine,
ten wins because their defense will be good.

Speaker 11 (01:05:12):
But I just don't know how long joke could lasted
forty years old.

Speaker 4 (01:05:14):
Adam, you're my buddy. I told you we think a
lot alike. Man, What do you like about the Browns?
What do you like I just think that defense is
better than people think they're going to be. And I think,
you know, chemis defans a great play, call it and
maybe gets a guy is good that gets hot and
gets in the rhythm and can just operate that offense
the way it's supposed to be operated.

Speaker 5 (01:05:32):
That same would be they'll be in games AMPPOTENTI.

Speaker 10 (01:05:34):
Well, they got to get Yes, I agree, they've got
to get the rookie signed Judkins their second.

Speaker 11 (01:05:39):
Round running back yet. I'm sure you know what happened
with him, but he's been cleared.

Speaker 10 (01:05:42):
So now the Browns, they got to get the language
right because they may want to try to stick something
in there to protect themselves, but they got to get
that done. That kid's got to be in camp because
they don't really have a starting running back right now.
That's a problem, and that division obviously the kid. The
Ravens are the Kings, but I think the Bengals will
have to score fifty points a game to actually win.

Speaker 4 (01:06:01):
Anyway, they're close to that.

Speaker 11 (01:06:04):
They could do a lot of problems. You know, I
don't see.

Speaker 10 (01:06:06):
I was talking to someone with another team about this
this week before we get out of here.

Speaker 11 (01:06:10):
Do these guys see a dominant team this year.

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
I do not I know, I don't know. Ravens. Maybe
I think they're the best, you know, like the more
stacked all around.

Speaker 10 (01:06:21):
Yeah, if I have to do, I'm gonna do power ranking.
It's probably a next week. I'm probably gonna rank Baltimore
number one.

Speaker 11 (01:06:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 10 (01:06:28):
Phillies good, Philly's got Philly's got five new stars on defense.
They're gonna be young, which is good, but they have
issues with past rush in a second corner. They've got problems.
So yeah, well we'll talk more about it next week.
But I think it's kind of wide open.

Speaker 2 (01:06:41):
I don't I don't disagree.

Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Adam, Thank you so much. Enjoy, enjoy the rest of
your Sunday. Kobe Bryant day, yees say twenty four?

Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
Thank you?

Speaker 11 (01:06:49):
Or Upper Mary? Was it Upper Marion High School? I
should know.

Speaker 4 (01:06:51):
I'm afraid, come on, Adam, lower Mary.

Speaker 11 (01:06:56):
Yeah, thank you. That jersey was really cool. Yeah, Lord Mary,
that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
I'm gonnainments from me. Oh, I see it all right,
Thanks Adam.

Speaker 3 (01:07:02):
Adam Kaplan our NFL insider. You can follow him on
Twitter ex at Kaplan and FL. There is no clearcut team,
but I just think the Ravens are the most stacked
team all around. Yeah, their holes have are the smallest holes,
I think so, right, Like, that's just the best way.

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
To put it. What a treat, Carrie. Do you see
who's over at the news desk?

Speaker 4 (01:07:21):
I do.

Speaker 5 (01:07:22):
He just came and saved saved us like you always
the day.

Speaker 2 (01:07:25):
Steve de Sager is here, lady.

Speaker 6 (01:07:29):
Hello.

Speaker 8 (01:07:29):
And by the way, I do think that the Ravens
might have the best rosters.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
Yeah, out there.

Speaker 8 (01:07:33):
Philly's roster is still quite good, thank you.

Speaker 16 (01:07:35):
Those two corners they acquired last year, the offensive line
they still have. It's kind of ridiculous what those two
have compared to some of the things we've seen around the.

Speaker 4 (01:07:45):
League this month.

Speaker 16 (01:07:45):
Absolutely, absolutely, We've got a lot of NFL to pass
along today. And keep in mind the NFL's cut down
deadline is Tuesday afternoon to get the rosters down to
fifty three and then the waiver claims began. The preseason
ended last night. The Minnesota Vikings have signed veteran quarterback
Carson Wentz and cut quarterback Brett Rippon. Minnesota traded quarterback
Sam Howell to Philadelphia. The Eagles cut quarterback Dorrian Thompson Robinson.

(01:08:09):
Philadelphia backup QB Tanner McKee has a broken thumb but
will not go uninjured reserve. The Browns released quarterback Tyler
hunt Leo played a little yesterday, but they might be
carrying four quarterbacks, including both rookies. We shall see. It's
the Browns, it might happen. Raiders backup quarterback Aidan O'Connell
will miss six to eight weeks with a broken wrist.
The Jets wave quarterback Adrian Martinez. The Rams cut quarterback

(01:08:33):
Dresser Win Tampa Bay Wave safety Shiloh Sanders, who got
kicked out of last night's exhibition. Dallas defensive back Trayvon Diggs,
after knee surgery last January, was placed on the active
roster today after passing his physical. The Leake's regular season
opens with Dallas at Philadelphia Thursday, September fourth. There were
a few college games yesterday. Most college football teams opened

(01:08:55):
the season next weekend. Tommy Fleetwood won the PGA's Tour Championship.
It earns the first plays check of ten million dollars
in the WNBA, Seattle and Golden State with wins. The
IndyCar Race went to Christian Rasmussen in Milwaukee. Just one
race left in the IndyCar season. It's at Nashville next
Sunday on Fox TV again. The US Open Tennis tournament

(01:09:16):
began today. American Ben Shelton won his first round match.
As for the Major League Baseball, what has come of
the Dodgers' offense.

Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
Well, we only do it in one game and then
we all do a like for the next five games.

Speaker 16 (01:09:28):
Since I had exactly one hit against the starter last
night and one hit against the starter on Friday, and
my goodness, four homers at San Diego. Now today it's
eight two Dodgers at the Padres in the top of
the ninth, so in mere minutes, apparently the Dodgers will
be back into a tie for first with San Diego.
Shoeo Tani with the ninth inning long ball for the

(01:09:49):
Dodgers is forty fifth homer of the year. Freddie Freeman
hit two, a solo shot in the sixth, a two
run homer in the seventh. Speaking of home runs at Seattle,
two more for Cal Raleigh. He has forty nine this
season and one hundred and six RBIs. We're still in August,
Mariners leading eleven to four, over the A's in the

(01:10:11):
bottom of the eighth inning. The Reds are going for
the final wild card in the NL, trying to catch
up to the Mets. Reds Now leads six to one
at Arizona in the top of the ninth thanks to
a five run eighth inning for him. The Cubs are
holding on in Anaheim, top of the ninth, four to
three Cubbies over the Angels. Milwaukee already lost at home,
giving up two in the ninth four to three Giants

(01:10:31):
one at Milwaukee, and we do have a raised game
that's still going because there was such a long delay
at the starts through seven. Tampa Bay seven to one
over the Cardinals. The Sunday night games starting in about
a half an hour. Red Sox at Yankees. And yeah,
it's been a while since the Yankees actually beat Boston
head to head. They've lost eight straight watchups watch State,

(01:10:52):
and it was twelve to one yesterday. It's Carlos Rodan
thirteen and seven for New York tonight against Dustin May,
the ex Dodger who's seve than a nine overall.

Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve Disager. You are listening
to Fox Sports Sunday. He is the all pro safety
carry roads. I am MONSI Bilano's Steve. Don't go too
far because you're gonna be a lifeline for Carrie on
the other side of this, as we get into.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
Easy as one, two, three, four, age ain't nothing but
a number. Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 3 (01:11:19):

Speaker 4 (01:11:46):

Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
Kids sizes, that's right, remember kids sizes. I didn't get
a size. I don't know what size you are. I'm
missing a guests here. Watch, I'm gonna guess fifteen, sixteen,
thirteen and a half, thirteen and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Thirteen, thirteen and a half. Bo what size a shoe
do you wear?

Speaker 9 (01:12:08):
Eleven?

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Eleven? Okay, I am a women's six, which is in
kids A four and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:12:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:12:13):
I got so jealous the first time my wife bought
a pair of kid's shoes. Yeah, he pissed me off
so much? Why it's your Because it's like I have
to spend one hundred and ten dollars to get a
pair of shoes at want. She can walk into a
foot locker and get the kids size for fifty bucks.

Speaker 4 (01:12:28):
It is it makes your purchase look unreasonable. Yeah, yeah,
it does.

Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
Well, that's true. That's true. Alright, let's get into it, guys.
Let's have some fun. Easy as one, two, three, four.

Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
If you've never heard this segment, so trivia game for
Carrie Rhodes and the crew. He's got lifelines, he's got
Steve Disager, he's got Bo Benson, and he's got Mary Mack.

Speaker 15 (01:12:52):
I just want to let you know we're gonna kick
your butt today.

Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
You're gonna kick my Oh so I should make it high, say, actually,
se you Disager is here and I think he's gonna
be the difference maker. So you know what, I'm gonna
let you have one wrong. So you're eight and a half,
you're trying to get nine points. Here, it's a possible
ten points. You're trying to get nine.

Speaker 2 (01:13:12):
That's right. Let's get into it.

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Everybody name one of the two quarterbacks that have thrown
for the most yards all time in NCAA history.

Speaker 4 (01:13:22):
Oh, would it be any one of those Texas Tech guys?
Would it be like would it be like Kingsbury?

Speaker 5 (01:13:30):
What what do you guys? Stave, I'm going to you.

Speaker 8 (01:13:32):
I remember Timmy Chang at Hawaii.

Speaker 4 (01:13:34):
That's a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Oh really, I should say over the course of their careers, yes,
not a one, not a single season. Oh yeah, so
over the course of the careers.

Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
Top How many are you talking about most yards?

Speaker 17 (01:13:45):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
Just just the number one guy, one of two that
have the top.

Speaker 8 (01:13:51):
Is anybody winning this guy?

Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
It's only the first point.

Speaker 16 (01:13:55):
And Dylan Gabriel just play seven years of college football?

Speaker 1 (01:13:59):
He did.

Speaker 4 (01:14:01):
Let's go, Dylan Gabriel, show.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Me Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
That is you just say, coming in, Dylan Gabriel is
actually second. But yes, Dylan has eighteen seven hundred and
twenty two yards across Oklahoma, Oregon.

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
UFC all of that u UFC.

Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
You see, ye, thank you, I said here you see fuh.
Case Keenum is actually the guy that yes, yeah, Case, yeah,
so you are honest. Yes, Keenum has nineteen two hundred
and seventeen yards and he did get like an extra
year after he tore his acl of eligibility.

Speaker 8 (01:14:36):
So it happens to every place, which happens.

Speaker 2 (01:14:38):
To every player. All right, there you go, look at
you all right, guys, moving on end, gals.

Speaker 3 (01:14:42):
Pete Carroll is the oldest coach in the NFL. Name
two of the next three oldest coaches in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (01:14:49):
I have to say, Andy Reid's one of them. We
need how many three?

Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Two of the three?

Speaker 4 (01:14:56):
Two of the three, and you got one?

Speaker 5 (01:14:57):
Andy Reid's one.

Speaker 4 (01:14:58):
Bo what you got? That's see?

Speaker 9 (01:15:00):
If you got one, Andy Reid should be up there.

Speaker 4 (01:15:04):
Yep, uh god.

Speaker 9 (01:15:08):
Maybe Jim Harbaugh.

Speaker 4 (01:15:10):
Maybe what you got, Steve? You think the same?

Speaker 8 (01:15:14):
Jim and John they've both been I mean John was
an assistant for you.

Speaker 5 (01:15:18):
I'd say, yeah, I think I'd go.

Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
John, John Harbaugh. Yeah, final answers, Okay, show me Andy Reid.

Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
That is correct.

Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
He is next to line sixty six years old. He
Carrol the oldest at seventy three. Show me John Harbaugh. Yeah,
he's sixty two years old.

Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
Good job.

Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
Wait to get me on line.

Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
There you go, there you go, all right, right, here
we go. Name three of the four top songs for
the band Queen.

Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
According to Billboard, bill Boom has to be one. What else?

Speaker 15 (01:15:44):
Radio Gaga? I think our radio Google.

Speaker 11 (01:15:47):
I think it was good.

Speaker 4 (01:15:47):
Yeah, Radio Gaga.

Speaker 8 (01:15:48):
Yeah, that one, the one that's played in every stadium.

Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
Yeah, we will rock you. Maybe rock you there you go.

Speaker 15 (01:15:56):
Maybe we are the champions too.

Speaker 4 (01:15:57):
Another one though, that's that's the tricky one, right, three
you need three of the four we need, okay.

Speaker 15 (01:16:02):
So then Bohema raaps is up there. Okay, we will
rock you is up there.

Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
We will rock you, okay, and then we are the
champions and we are the champions.

Speaker 7 (01:16:10):
Is that it?

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
Okay? All right?

Speaker 3 (01:16:13):
Show me Bohemia Rhapsody. Yes, that's number one. Show me
we will rock You. That's number three, and is it?
We are the champions.

Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
Not on the top even ten, because I don't. I
didn't right past ten. Fat Bottom Girls comes in at
number four. Fat Bottom Girls.

Speaker 9 (01:16:33):
That's what I was gonna say.

Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
Bo did make the world go round? No, I love
that one under pressures. Yes, so it is, yes, but
it's Billboard.

Speaker 6 (01:16:53):
I know bo.

Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
Sorry, bo has not been here where.

Speaker 3 (01:16:55):
Yes, Billboard has this list and they sometimes have collaborations.
It's so yes, but they have that one. But no,
it would be nine. Is your my best friend. Eight
crazy thing called love. Seven We are the champions.

Speaker 5 (01:17:08):
Wow, we are the champions.

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
Seven? Yes here it is? Yeah, all right, not the champions,
not the champions. But you're still on it. Guys, you've
only missed one. I think you could get this last one.

Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
Here. Name four of the five players in the NBA
that got at least a ninety five in their overall
ranking and NBA two K.

Speaker 8 (01:17:25):
I mean Curry.

Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
Uh, I'm sure a ninety five or above.

Speaker 5 (01:17:32):
I'd say Curry, I'd say this is last year.

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
Yes, this game that's just coming out or it's just
come out.

Speaker 4 (01:17:39):
Yeah, so Curry Sta, how can it not be? SG?
He's got to be those two for sure? We need
how many two more?

Speaker 17 (01:17:45):
You need?

Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
Yeah? Four of the five to two more?

Speaker 7 (01:17:47):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (01:17:47):
Who else?

Speaker 4 (01:17:47):
Guys?

Speaker 9 (01:17:48):
Luca does Yeah, Lifelong, Dallas, Maverick, Luca, Doncic, Luca, Luca,
Luca one more?

Speaker 5 (01:17:55):
Yok, Yes, there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:17:58):
That has to be it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Yes, okay, all right, show me Nicola Jokic.

Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
Yes, he is the highest ranking of ninety eight along
with show me SGA. They both got ninety eight. Good job,
show me Luka Doncic, Oh, he can't he got a
ninety five?

Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
Is it Steph Curry?

Speaker 12 (01:18:16):
I knew it.

Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
It's a ninety five or above and believe it or not.
So Anthony Edwards was he got a ninety five. Jannis
Onto ta Koumpo over ninety seven.

Speaker 9 (01:18:30):
Anthony Edwards over Curry is insane.

Speaker 5 (01:18:32):
That's insane. That one's crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
Yes, and Curry got a ninety four. Lebron James in
ninety four, lower Jason Tatum in ninety four. Victor won
Banyama in ninety four. Kevin Durant, ninety.

Speaker 9 (01:18:43):
Game is unplayable if all those guys are nineties, there's
no reason to play two k anymore?

Speaker 5 (01:18:48):
What are you doing what?

Speaker 15 (01:18:49):
I'm not gonna lie. The lad's going with like sixteen,
I'll be real maybe seventeen.

Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
Well, you guys didn't do too that was eight. That
was pretty good.

Speaker 17 (01:18:58):
No.

Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
The only reason I made it it was when she
was like, we're gonna win because Steve de Seger is here.
He's not fair, but he helped get you the Dylan
Gabriel one. So Steve de Sager coming in saving the day.
We still got one more hour Lebron James. Lebron watched
twenty twenty five what is he up to watch?

Speaker 5 (01:19:19):
Don't I don't care.

Speaker 4 (01:19:20):
I'm still mad. I'm still mades to you, even though
how good he was. He gave us we will rock
you and it did not go. No, it's a weird
champions were champion.

Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
That's all right, carrieon Monty here on this Sunday. Thank
you for tuning in to our numetal tress DRIs Can
you count in Spanish?

Speaker 4 (01:19:43):
Of course? Up to what ten? At least?

Speaker 1 (01:19:46):
Nice?

Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
Let it go dress Quacho sinko set.

Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
That was pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:19:55):
Bo, there is uh holding his laugh a little bit,
but that's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 14 (01:20:00):
Bo.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
You have a Latino wife, yeah, see see. And how
much Spanish have you learned? Bokito?

Speaker 9 (01:20:12):
Yeahito, Yes, he's got that one.

Speaker 7 (01:20:16):
There we go.

Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
Mary Mack, you got any Spanish in you? Uh yeah?

Speaker 15 (01:20:19):
From ages like six to like penn.

Speaker 2 (01:20:22):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:20:23):
My babysitter was Puerto Rican, so I spent my sundays
at Lane.

Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
Glacia like Lecia Mira, Steve Disager. We got any Spanish?

Speaker 6 (01:20:35):
Me?

Speaker 3 (01:20:36):
You know, he just called me Thika. That's what we
call Costa Ricans. He knows what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (01:20:39):
He just blew you all out. Of the water. Yeah,
Steve Disager, when's that one? Thanks guys for tuning in.
Happy Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:20:48):
Kobe Bryant day A twenty four gone way too damn soon,
but we will always think of him.

Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
I wonder how often Lebron James thinks of Kobe?

Speaker 7 (01:20:57):
What is? What is it?

Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
I watched? I'll watch twenty twenty five. What has Lebron
James tweeted about? Let's see, I'll.

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
Watch twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
I'll watch twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (01:21:08):
Uh nope, just still golf, guys, That's all he's tweeting
about golf, congratulating again Tommy Fleetwood for winning the Tour
Championship and saying that first one feeling is something else,
especially after dealing with adversity and shortcomings.

Speaker 5 (01:21:23):
Man two talking about himself again.

Speaker 3 (01:21:25):
Fire fire Fire Fire Championship trophy up three with two
to play for all the marbles?

Speaker 15 (01:21:31):
What does that mean, Lebron?

Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Was that Tommy Fleetwood? Can you tell me who that was?

Speaker 15 (01:21:35):
The other one?

Speaker 7 (01:21:35):
Damn?

Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
Just like that into the water? Who was it, Scotty Shuffler?
Was it Tommy Fleetwood? And then they're Scotty on the
creep again? Man oh man? So that's what Lebron has
been tweeting today, you guys a lot of golf right talk.

Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
But reports earlier this week, Carrie from let me get
it right because I don't know it was. NBA insider
Jake Fisher reported that the Warriors made numerous attempts to
pair up Lebron James and Steph Curry.

Speaker 4 (01:22:04):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
Let me tell you. Let'll tell you that I got
a lot of thoughts on this guy.

Speaker 4 (01:22:08):
Let's go what you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
Obviously he can't do this, you know what I'm saying, Like,
I get that, okay, But I also thought Luka Dancic
was never gonna go anywhere. Nico Harrison, We're never gonna
forget the fact.

Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
I know he can't do it.

Speaker 3 (01:22:18):
But if there was one story to take over the
NBA would be Lebron James and Steph Curry Team NA.
That is the one story that could actually take over
this upcoming season.

Speaker 5 (01:22:35):
I'm gonna throw one at you, but I'll let you
finish first.

Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
I'll go ahead, but I know it can't happen, not
just because Lebron can't do that. It would affect his
his legacy in a sense. But let's hypothetically say that
he does, and he goes to the Warriors and the
Warriors win, Bronni James stays in La as a Laker
and say the Warriors win. That stop rises for Steph Curry,

(01:23:02):
and only Steph Curry, not for Lebron James, because then
Steph Curry would say I had to help both the
US get a trophy. You and Kevin Durant to use me.
That only drives Curry's stock. So I understand it can't happen.
But if Lebron is trying to flip the bird on
the Lakers, this is the only way to do it.

(01:23:25):
All of a sudden, Nobody, Yeah, you're gonna care about
Luca and the Lakers and what they do, But in reality,
everyone would be tuning in to see Lebron James and
Steph Curry possibly their final hoorah, you know, like it
would be the story that feeds families.

Speaker 5 (01:23:45):
It would be families.

Speaker 4 (01:23:46):
I would be puking all the time, but you would
be watching, maybe in the big game. I don't you know,
I'm a basketball so if it's a big game in
their plan, I would love to see it. I'm not
gonna be that guy and say, I wouldn't, but it
would be talked about, and it would be covered so
much that I know I'd be sick of it. It'd

(01:24:07):
be kind of like the should door Sandra's stuff right now,
I'm tired of it. It would get to that point,
you know, And I think for all NBA purists and fans,
I mean, obviously the best and only solution of I
guess Lebron going to any other team outside the Lakers
and playing we know, we know it's Cleveland. We know
if that's the you know, the reunion and go back
and win a championship for Cleveland again. That would be

(01:24:28):
the most interesting story now as far as the most covered.
Like you said, it would be covered at nauseum, and
I would be so sick of it. And so I
do not want to see that happen. Let them compete
their competitors. They do not need to team up. I
do not want to see this happen.

Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
I no, of course you don't. I actually think yes,
the attention would be overdone.

Speaker 4 (01:24:49):
Sicken me.

Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
We would, but it would not be I agree with
you of the attention of shador right, But it's like
this would not be a no.

Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
It would be controversial.

Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
I don't think it would be contrary.

Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
People already talk about teaming up and all this, and
he's already ruined the NBA because he's teamed up. That's all.
That's all I'm saying, because we know if he gets traded,
he's gonna have to okay it. If it was like
a random trade, he got traded to go and then
that the sting would be off a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:25:14):
But that just doesn't happen. He's going to be talked
to and they're going to send him to the team
he wants.

Speaker 4 (01:25:18):
To go to.

Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
If it was to happen, carry it rights itself. Listen,
he goes with the Warriors, Warriors and Lakers. Let's say
they're in the playoffs and.

Speaker 3 (01:25:30):
Bronni is guarding his dad and doesn't fully guard him
and dad hits the game winner.

Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
It rights itself.

Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
You guys like I, what if what if Lebron announced
that it was going to be his final year? Would
the controversy not be there because it would be the
final year and you are following.

Speaker 2 (01:25:50):
Lebron one last time.

Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
I could buy into that.

Speaker 3 (01:25:53):
You would buy into that, so you would be okay
with it. But he would have to announce that. And
that's what we've talked about, that that announce it. Now,
even though I don't know what his what his plans are,
I just there's it can't happen. It can't happen.

Speaker 2 (01:26:05):
But if it did, the.

Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
Fact that you just said his Bronnie James going his
dad in the playoffs, you think bron is going to
be playing in the rotation.

Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
So it's gonna happen because somebody got hurt and he's
got to go in and say, like somebody fouled out.

Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
It's the last two minutes.

Speaker 3 (01:26:21):
They ain't got nobody, and then it's like Bronni James
gotta goal, gotta go right.

Speaker 7 (01:26:25):
You know what?

Speaker 9 (01:26:26):
The most unrealistic part of that scenario is the Warriors
being in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:26:30):
Hold on a second.

Speaker 4 (01:26:33):
With Lebron if they have to, if the Warriors traded
for Lebron, had to trade the whole team, yeah, well
it's gonna be.

Speaker 9 (01:26:40):
It's gonna be old Steph old Lebron in like seven
VET minimum guys, and and and yeah, I just I
just said seven VET minimum guys, right, and.

Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
And Yimmy Yeamy, Yeah, everybody else would go.

Speaker 9 (01:26:53):
Jimmy is also a million years old.

Speaker 2 (01:26:55):
Yes, no, full totally.

Speaker 9 (01:26:56):
That team would struggle to make the playoffs, but they
might not even that would I wouldn't even pick that
team to make the play in that point.

Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
Listen, you guys in the NBA is rigged. This is
gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (01:27:07):
I told Mancy what this is is.

Speaker 9 (01:27:09):
This is the Warriors desperately trying to make it look
like they're trying to improve their team for Steph because
they don't want Steph to be like, all right, well
I want to leave.

Speaker 2 (01:27:15):
There's no way Steph is thinking that.

Speaker 9 (01:27:18):
That would be crazy and CRAZI happened.

Speaker 3 (01:27:22):
You're so right, And the only reason I'm saying like,
there's no ways, I get it. Everybody now has no
loyalty to a team. You don't see a player stick
with one team for so long anymore. There's no more Dirks,
there's no more Kobe's. Steph is a dying breed out there,
Clayton Kershaw dying breed out there.

Speaker 2 (01:27:36):
Staying with one team. I totally hear. Yeah, I just don't.
I hope he's not doing that.

Speaker 3 (01:27:40):
I this obviously the story is to get people talking
about Lebron, like if we're pushing anything.

Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
If anything is being pushed, it's not that I would refuse.

Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
I don't want to believe that because I don't want
to believe that career would be doing that. This has
to be a talk about Lebron and I'm just tired
of the Lakers not talking about me.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
Because you that he liked Lakers posts for the first
time and yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:28:03):
But that was a Kobe post. It's the first time
in forever and.

Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
Then has not said anything else. Yea, has that said
anything else? Has he even talked to DeAndre Ayton, Marcus Smart?

Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
Has he even said anything to Luca about going to
the backstree boys?

Speaker 9 (01:28:15):
I did real quick want to say before you moved
on there there was a guy that I think would
have been loyal to one team, but his team traded
him to the Lakers.

Speaker 5 (01:28:22):
So, oh, come on, you're doing it again talking about Luca.

Speaker 9 (01:28:28):
Probably would have stayed with the Mavericks whole career.

Speaker 5 (01:28:31):
There's another one both, Jason Tatum, probably with the Celtics
for a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:28:34):
I think, yeah, I hopefully, hopefully, And it's especially because
he did win already, so it's like easier right to
stick around with your team unless you're trying to get
exactly a ring a chaser ring. But as Damian Lillard
has seen, it's not always greener on the other side.
So I don't know what the real story behind this

(01:28:56):
being reported is, aside from us talking about Lebron James
when we know how I don't know if the word
is unhappy, right, but he's not happy with the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (01:29:09):
That's why he hasn't said anything. That's why he hasn't
shown up to anything.

Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
That's why we don't hear that, like he is talking
to Luca and this and that, and so that's more
of the focus that I feel, like, how bad really
is it right now with the Lakers and Lebron and
their relationship?

Speaker 2 (01:29:25):
If this is the story that's being pushed.

Speaker 5 (01:29:27):
Out, Listen, I manty, the relationship doesn't matter to me.

Speaker 4 (01:29:30):
Like he's under contract, It doesn't he's under contract, he's
gonna he has to play with him if he's there,
and you know he's not gonna put out a bad
product once he's on the court. So the rest of
this is just it's talk and it's fun because it is.
It's silly to see a grown man as accomplished as
Lebron James do these baby games all the time. It
just get over yourself and go be a part of something.

Speaker 5 (01:29:52):
Try to win.

Speaker 4 (01:29:53):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (01:29:53):
That's it.

Speaker 11 (01:29:54):
Stop.

Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
But he's trying to win with with Crey My God.

Speaker 5 (01:29:58):
Leaves Steph Curry along. Leave the Bay Area alone.

Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
Please, no, please leave the Bay Area alone.

Speaker 3 (01:30:03):
Also leave the Clippers alone, because I feel like people
a still entertaining that idea that he wants to go
on to the Clippers. Really yes, but because of the
stupid picture he put with the Clippers. And it's like
we speaking about old. We are old enough as the
Clippers what they call were the unks, we the uns
times four.

Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
And if he comes with the great Unks, you know
what I'm saying. And I can't.

Speaker 3 (01:30:25):
I can't, like, have you crowning yourself? And then James
Harden you know, cooking.

Speaker 2 (01:30:30):
And I just it's too much.

Speaker 5 (01:30:32):
All for them to start a podcast called the Gray
Beards they're creepy.

Speaker 4 (01:30:36):
That'd be great.

Speaker 8 (01:30:36):
Actually, Beard apologize.

Speaker 2 (01:30:38):
Now they're gonna do that. You really should because I
think now they are going to do that.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
Well, listen, the message that Lebron, James and Is Camp
are sending is confusing. I'm not gonna lie and we
obviously know that it's being pushed for a specific reason,
whatever that is. If it's to tell the Lakers, hello,
I am not happy heller or to just get the
feels for what people would think of the Warriors. But

(01:31:05):
I will tell you there is somebody else who is
sending a message to his players, and I think that
is the best message you could possibly send.

Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
We're gonna dive into that.

Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
On the other side, he's carried the Allpro safety and
you can follow him on ex Twitter at Carrie twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:31:19):
Five Roads or across Instagram at Carrie Roads.

Speaker 3 (01:31:21):
I am across social media at Moncey Bolano's follow us,
tweet at us, also tweet at.

Speaker 2 (01:31:26):
Fox Sports Radio. But don't go anywhere.

Speaker 3 (01:31:28):
We're gonna dive into this message by the one and
only Deonce Anders. Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:31:32):
He's carry AMANCEI. It's Fox Sports Radio. Whoa up in here?
Up in here a little DMX who is probably like
my height. I think I don't know, man, I.

Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
Don't know y'all a little bit little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
I don't know how much toler he was. DMX was not.

Speaker 4 (01:31:56):
Sorry, sorry, I was a dog. It was a dog
running the studio. It was a dog out your dog?

Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
Do you watched Kat Williams Call Williams stand up of course,
and there's a part where he talks about being in
class next to DMX and how cheating, like you couldn't
cheat because he would talk to you like that. Yeah
that he was like, yo, like we're in class, the
teacher is listening, like stop, yes, exactly, that is exactly what.

Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
Cal Williams doing his stand up. It was hilarious.

Speaker 3 (01:32:26):
What's up everybody? Thanks for tuning in to Fox Sports Sunday.
He is the All Pro safety carry Roads and I
am Monsie Bolanos. You can follow me across social media
at Monte Bolognos. You can follow Carrie on x or
Twitter at Carrie twenty five Roads and on Instagram at
Carrie Rhoads.

Speaker 2 (01:32:41):
You know, I feel Carrie that.

Speaker 3 (01:32:45):
Certain occupations you have a responsibility right to set a tone,
and then when you are in charge or work with
young athletes, your responsibility even goes be on the field
and what happens.

Speaker 2 (01:33:02):
You know, in your locker room and in the middle
of the game.

Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
You want to set up these young athletes for success
and you want them to build character, right, And I
still think about like my club coaches and how they
handled certain situations and how I feel like I still
apply that in my everyday life today, at this year,
at this point in my life, I'm still doing things

(01:33:25):
that I was taught while playing competitive sports for my
club coaches.

Speaker 2 (01:33:30):
And so I'm a firm.

Speaker 3 (01:33:31):
Believer, you know, like you have the power to really
inspire and to set a tone and to help create
a character off the field. And Deon Sanders is doing
that and so much more. He already has such a
positive following for what he has done in Colorado, but
he's getting ready for a new season to be the

(01:33:52):
coach there and his sons are no longer there, and
so he had a message for this upcoming year.

Speaker 11 (01:34:01):
We started school w win being tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (01:34:05):
No slides.

Speaker 17 (01:34:07):
If I see you with I'm gonna send people to
campus tomorrow. If I see you with slides on campus,
it's gonna be a problem. If I see you with
a hoodie own in class or some headphones on in class,
it's gonna be a problem. If I see you sit
in the back of the classroom, it's gonna be a problem.
Do we understand that? And if you're online and you
have online classes, and you don't have a shirt on,

(01:34:29):
or you got a white beat on, or you have
some stupid on that causes distraction, or you walk around
doing that online session.

Speaker 4 (01:34:36):
It's gonna be a problem.

Speaker 2 (01:34:37):
It's gonna be a problem.

Speaker 4 (01:34:38):
I just I mean, it's gonna be a problem.

Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
I love that, or something stupid on like you.

Speaker 3 (01:34:44):
We were just joking of, like do I need to
have a sign that says this for Garrett Wilson to
not tell secrets. We literally have a sign on a
blow dright to not throw it in the water. So
he was just so specific and clear. I you are
a representation of me, yep. And if I'm in a
hoodie and my aviator reflective sunglasses, that doesn't mean you

(01:35:05):
are You are not me.

Speaker 2 (01:35:06):
I am Dion.

Speaker 3 (01:35:07):
You know what, Sanders, You are a student playing football
at Colorado and you need to look the part.

Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
Yeah, my mama always taught me when I was younger.
When you leave the house, you're representing me, your mom,
your dad. You know that that's part of who you
are and what you're You know, when people see you,
they equate that to mom and dad.

Speaker 5 (01:35:30):
And this is what he's been taught obviously.

Speaker 4 (01:35:33):
So when you see Dean Sanders setting this precedent for
these kids, and I think it's a beautiful thing. It's
one of those things where we've talked about it, like
starting from having the foundation of doing things the right way,
showing people who you are every day, because that can
be that one day where you wear the tank top
and the person that sees you and thinks that that's

(01:35:54):
what you are and what you represent, and it may
not be true. So always know that that first impress
is a big deal, and so go there, be prepared,
wear your suits, do things the right way, because when
you do it that way, you also build habits, and
those habits and those habits start forming in those situations,
those moments of demanding moments that you may thinks demanding,
but really it's just building. Building that that scar tissue,

(01:36:17):
that that confidence, that that camaraderie that you need as
a team. When you all do it together, we all
dress together, we all do these things together. That translates
on the field. And I think that's a special thing
that DA is doing for those guys.

Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
Everybody needs structure, they do, and in the structure the
earlier on you're used to having the structure, the easiest
is the easier is for you to apply structure in
your life outside of school and outside of that. And like,
I wish you would have added crocs, no slides, no crocs.
I hate crocs. I don't know if you mean I
hate crocs. I hate crocks, Mary, I can't. My dad
has a bear of crocks and if it was up
to him, he would have on every color.

Speaker 2 (01:36:48):
And I cannot your dad. My dad is seventy somethings.

Speaker 5 (01:36:54):
This feed her, let them matterstox, Please.

Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
No, listen.

Speaker 3 (01:36:57):
I buy him the best sneakers, the best. He's wearing
comfy shoes. Don't worry, hokus, you know what I'm saying,
Like he's got comfy shoes.

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
I just can't stand that.

Speaker 3 (01:37:07):
But I was gonna say, like even adding online classes,
because like I experienced online classes.

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
It wasn't as common as it was it is now,
you know, But I did have online.

Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
Classes and it was like, yeah, like you could get
away right with looking mediocre. But to even say that, like,
even if you're in an online class, you've got to
look presentable, You've got to look the part. And you're
again representing Dion and the and the football team in
high school, I the football team stood out, and also
our baseball team was Our baseball team was better than

(01:37:39):
the football team. So like they all were always dressed appropriately,
especially on a game day, like they would stand out
game day.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
For sure, you got it.

Speaker 3 (01:37:48):
And even if it wasn't, you better not be walking
around looking stupid, like the coaches were.

Speaker 2 (01:37:52):
Definitely like that.

Speaker 3 (01:37:54):
And I feel like you have to the little things
go a long way, like you wouldn't think this message
would go a long way, and it does.

Speaker 11 (01:38:02):
It does.

Speaker 4 (01:38:02):
The attention to detail, the fact that he even said it,
like you said, he said even online classes no, because
that's that's the caveat right, like kids try to find
the loophole and everything. The fact that he said everything
and was very clear about it. There's no miscommunication happening.
You cannot you cannot say I didn't tell you to

(01:38:23):
do this, and.

Speaker 2 (01:38:24):
I MISUNDRSTUDI that's it. That's it, direct and clear, and
I love it.

Speaker 3 (01:38:28):
As he was saying, in case you didn't see the video,
I'm pretty sure he's wearing his shades, so it's just
what's even funnier.

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
And his hoodie. So Dean, you're doing it right.

Speaker 3 (01:38:35):
Setting up these athletes for success outside of the classroom,
outside of the school. Everybody needs structure and everybody needs
a Steve Desager.

Speaker 4 (01:38:43):
Yes we do, so we do.

Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
Let's check in on Steve Disager.

Speaker 8 (01:38:47):
I didn't come well dressed today.

Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
Stee, you are wearing a collared shirt, so you are
more dressed than most of us.

Speaker 2 (01:38:55):
Okay, you're winning. No, you are winning, Thank goodness.

Speaker 16 (01:38:59):
Than at the Yankees tonight and at scoreless in the
bottom of the first. Everything else is final today, including
the game at Seattle where cal Rawley hit two more homers.
He has forty nine this year. The Mariners beat the
A's eleven to four. The Dodgers were winners at San
Diego to salvage a game of their weekend series, eight
to two. Four long balls for the Dodger offense number

(01:39:20):
forty forty five in the season. For show Hao Tony,
you know the pitcher. He's also batting to eighty. So
the Dodgers this past week had four losses, three victories.
In the four losses, they scored only eight runs total.
In the three where three wins, it was twenty eight
runs eight two Today's final. The Reds got five in

(01:39:41):
the top of the eighth and won six to one
at Arizona. Cubs held on four to three at the Angels.
Giants won at Milwaukee for to three with two runs
in the top of the ninth and eventually ending in
Tampa Bay. There was a long delay early, but the
Rays did play nine innings and did beat the Saint
Louis Cardinals seven to two the Minnesota Vice The king
signed veteran quarterback Carson Wentz and cut quarterback Brett Rippon.

(01:40:04):
Minnesota traded quarterback Sam Howel to Philadelphia. The Browns released
quarterback Tyler Huntley, but they may carry four qbs, including
both rookies. We'll see the NFL's cut down deadline. It's
Tuesday afternoon to get the rosters down to fifty three.
Raiders backup quarterback Aidan O'Connell will miss six to eight
weeks with a broken wrist. The Saints are due to
name their starting QB this week, Spencer Ratler or Tyler Shuck.

(01:40:27):
The Cowboys are reportedly cutting veteran offensive lineman Lyle Collins.
San Francisco formerly acquired running back Brian Robinson from Washington.
He passed his physical Most college football teams open the
season next weekend. There is a game on Fox TV
this Friday Auburn and at Baylor. And yeah, there's a
little game Texas at Ohio State on Fox this Saturday.

(01:40:48):
Tommy Fleetwood won the PGA's Tour Championship year in the
first place check of ten million dollars. WNBA wins for
Golden State and Seattle. The IndyCar Race went to Christian
Rasmussen in Milwaukee, and the US Open Tennis tournament began.
American Ben Shelton won his first round match Women's number
one Arena Sabile Inc.

Speaker 5 (01:41:07):
Advanced back to you, Mary called Diana, Coach Carter.

Speaker 4 (01:41:13):
Remember that movie.

Speaker 2 (01:41:17):
When right now gotcha? Gotcha? They you see you Disaga
giving us that rundown.

Speaker 3 (01:41:25):
I swear if the Dodgers can just keep this going
bow like bo they have been so frustrating in the
last two games.

Speaker 9 (01:41:34):
Okay, Well, Dave Roberts said before the game that he
thought that the talk they had would finally break the
offense out of their slump. So it's good that he
finally called the like play well like offense and not
the don't play well offense. So congrats to Dave Roberts
for figuring it out.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
I guess I guess that's what it was. I guess
that's what it was.

Speaker 9 (01:41:52):
I mean, like, honestly, though, it's fine. They're in first place,
they have the tiebreaker over the Padres. So coming off
of a horrible series in Colorado, winning one game was
was fine. So now's the Now's the test?

Speaker 4 (01:42:05):
Now is it was fine because they lost to the
Rockies and now they won again. I say, say, see
the double standards. The Yankees lose the tough get tough?

Speaker 9 (01:42:12):
Well, geah, because I won a World Series the century.

Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:42:16):
Fighting words, I hate you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:42:18):
Accurate, but fighting words. I mean, he's not he's not lying,
he's not.

Speaker 4 (01:42:22):
I can't fight that one, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:42:24):
So I didn't tell you this until you got here,
that you guys are gonna help me with my fantasy
football draft.

Speaker 2 (01:42:28):
My first one.

Speaker 5 (01:42:29):
This is your official one.

Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
No I'm leaving to I have too many, but this
is my first one. This is my first one. And
I was telling both. So this is a new league
that I'm a part of.

Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
I don't know anybody in this league except my volleyball
teammate's wife.

Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
So it's all ladies team.

Speaker 9 (01:42:45):
And I was asked to join sounds like an easy
win to me.

Speaker 2 (01:42:47):
Listen, I that's what I thought. But i'm if what
if I think it's easy and I I'm not easy?
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (01:42:53):
Your money is on the line here.

Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
But one one, hold on, I'll tell you right now.
I'll tell you the break down.

Speaker 4 (01:42:58):
It might not be as easy as you think because
all the guys of picking their girls tamed.

Speaker 2 (01:43:01):
Oh that is hold on two seconds. That is right,
that is right. I'm over here just using you guys
on air.

Speaker 3 (01:43:09):
So first place is one ninety, second place is eighty,
third place is thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
That's what it is, and it's official that the order
is up. I have the sixth one, two, three, I
have the fifth pick. I have the fifth. No, it's
a six. Why is it six?

Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
But it looks like on five I have the sixth
overall pick. And it's telling me a seed lamb and listen,
I get it. But why do I want to get
Christian McCaffrey. I want to I want to get running
backs there you can the running backs are so limited.
I can get good receivers later on. So my crazy here, no,

(01:43:43):
my thought.

Speaker 9 (01:43:44):
If you take Christian McCaffrey while Jamier Gibbs is available,
then maybe, so you're you're.

Speaker 3 (01:43:49):
Believing in Jamior Gibbs despite like the change in yes,
I would okay, well, well, Jamier Gibbs shouldn't be there, right,
he should be gone because he's listed at higher than him.
So I'm assuming by this point I say, I say
Christian McCaffrey because I assume by the time it gets
to me, if these ladies or these men that are

(01:44:09):
drafting for them would take Bijon Robinson because he recently
said it was Bijon Did you hear that?

Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
It's not Bejeon.

Speaker 3 (01:44:15):
Jean Robinson, Saquon Barkley and Jamior Gibbs are the other
running backs ahead, and I assume they're going to be
gone by the time I go six. So it would
be like I would take Justin Jefferson if he's still there,
I think, but I think he'll be gone, And so
it becomes C. D. Lamb, Nico Collins, Christian McCaffrey. And
that's that's why am I crazy listening? I know, because

(01:44:36):
of the age.

Speaker 5 (01:44:36):
I just don't trust McCaffrey's health. Yeah, that's the only reason.

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
But even with the easier schedule for I have a.

Speaker 9 (01:44:43):
Good feeling that Jamior Gibbs is going to be there
for you at five or six.

Speaker 3 (01:44:47):
I would take Okay, I glad, but if he's not,
if he's not the next do I take Ashton genty
No over King Justin Jefferson.

Speaker 2 (01:44:55):
What if Jefferson is not there, then I'm taking CD Lamb,
you're taking c d.

Speaker 4 (01:44:59):
No, I'll take him over over McCaffrey. I just don't
trust McCaffrey to play a lot of games. Yeah, I
think at this point.

Speaker 9 (01:45:05):
If you're not if you're not getting Bijon, Saquon or Gibbs,
I'm going wide receiver. And even then I'm probably going
wide receiver. Wide receiver is so huge in fantasy now
just because of how much the ball is.

Speaker 2 (01:45:17):
But you can get a good wide receiver in later rounds.
You can't.

Speaker 3 (01:45:22):
You can't get good running backs after the third round.
I mean we think that, but yeah, there are right,
you could. You could take a risk on somebody. But like,
the receivers are deep. That's That's where I'm struggling here.
And I wish I would have had an earlier pick
because I think much easier. It would make it a
lot easier because I have a I think I don't
know where I'm at in another league. I'm like six

(01:45:44):
or seven, and I literally have. When I saw this,
I was like, Okay, Christian McCaffrey is the running back
available around those picks, and I know the risks and
I understand, but he also did it play a lot
last year and the schedule is a little easier.

Speaker 2 (01:45:58):
You're looking at me like I'm crazy because you just.

Speaker 4 (01:46:01):
Said what I said, would you rather pay a lot?
Last year?

Speaker 5 (01:46:03):
It just doesn't pay a lot?

Speaker 2 (01:46:04):
But nobody before that, the year before.

Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
Ye started last year hurt just because Kyle Shanahan lied
to all of us. That's let's let's put that into consideration.

Speaker 2 (01:46:14):
We were lied to.

Speaker 3 (01:46:15):
So Christian McAffrey came into the season hurts. I'm gonna
say he's not hurt.

Speaker 5 (01:46:20):
Maazi, his whole career, he's hurt.

Speaker 4 (01:46:23):
It's not about it's not about one or two years.
This guy's had only one or two healthy years where
he had these excellent years. Obviously he's a great player,
but he just doesn't play a lot. Just I would
rather would you rather?

Speaker 7 (01:46:37):
Like?

Speaker 9 (01:46:37):
Let's okay, So let's say you take McCaffrey and then
you go for a deeper wide receiver, like you're gonna
do like a Drake London.

Speaker 6 (01:46:45):
Or an A J.

Speaker 2 (01:46:46):
Brown on the second round.

Speaker 9 (01:46:47):
Yeah, because I personally would go I would rather go
Ceedee Lamber, Justin Jefferson and then take a shot at
like an Omari and Hampton or like a James Cook.

Speaker 12 (01:47:02):
I hear what.

Speaker 9 (01:47:02):
I think the top wide receivers are so much better
than the top running backs at this point in fantasy football.
I think you can. I think it's smarter to take
a wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (01:47:15):
I just I think I feel like running backs are
how you you win.

Speaker 5 (01:47:20):
A healthy running back.

Speaker 3 (01:47:25):
List.

Speaker 2 (01:47:25):
And I appreciate that. I appreciate that because I hear you.

Speaker 3 (01:47:28):
If you're listening, can you tweet at me and tell
me who I should take in the sixth I.

Speaker 9 (01:47:32):
Think you've got to really count on them not using
their boyfriends or their husbands or their significant at that point.
To you gotta really hope maybe you could underhandedly be like,
all right, and guys, just so we all agree, like
we're all doing this ourselves, right, I don't.

Speaker 4 (01:47:48):
Know anybody using us.

Speaker 3 (01:47:49):
Yeah, exactly, I'm showing carry. I look at I have
one number saved.

Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
I have no idea. You have no I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:47:57):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
I think some of these gals are on the East Coast.
I also don't know if these girls know what I do.

Speaker 11 (01:48:03):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:48:04):
I was asked by my volleyball teammate, and I was like,
do you really want me to do this? He's again,
they need another girl, just do it. And I was like, okay, well, okay.

Speaker 5 (01:48:11):
I'm telling you. They're using their boyfriends or their partners
for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:48:14):
You know, I was hoping they were just gonna draft
by who's cute.

Speaker 9 (01:48:17):
Oh yeah, Jimmy Garoppolo. My mom and her friend at work.
They won a pool one year just picking by uniforms,
and that pissed off everybody in the office.

Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
I mean, listen, that's how that's how you do it.
That's how you do Okay, all right, all right, listen.
I've got about twenty three minutes is when the draft starts.
Oh and then I'm the sixth pick, and you guys
may have convinced me that maybe it's not Christian McCaffrey
at that point. I don't know, guys, I don't know.
I just I value the running back for a fantasy
football more than I.

Speaker 9 (01:48:45):
Valuated if you love it like I just if you
live in a world where like if you live in
a world if you have the fifth or six pick
and you can like get a Justin Jefferson or even
like Amin Ross on CD.

Speaker 2 (01:48:56):
I think that's really what it is.

Speaker 9 (01:48:57):
I think that, and that's understanding.

Speaker 2 (01:48:59):
Does that understanding?

Speaker 7 (01:49:00):
C Lamb.

Speaker 9 (01:49:00):
I don't trust Dak, but CD does put up stats.
He does put up like he's a top fantasy receiver.
He also has George Pickens on the other side. Now,
maybe that takes away.

Speaker 3 (01:49:11):
A few Somebody tweeted at me that I didn't mention
Jamar Chase. The problem is, I don't think. I don't
would probably not be there.

Speaker 9 (01:49:17):
Jimar Chase is going to go first overall, and if.

Speaker 2 (01:49:19):
He's obviously, if he's there Brad in Montana.

Speaker 9 (01:49:22):
That's such an annoying comment, Like, yes, we all know that.

Speaker 4 (01:49:26):
I just don't think.

Speaker 2 (01:49:27):
He's gonna be there right like in the sixth pick.
That's so, that's what it is.

Speaker 3 (01:49:30):
And I yeah, there's something about CD and the Dallas
Cowboys like I just don't I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
I had Ceede Lamb a few years ago, and then
I think I just have a bad taste in my mouth.
From it, and so I just don't want him.

Speaker 5 (01:49:41):
To be my I'm gonna tell you a sleeper one
for that next pick for you.

Speaker 4 (01:49:44):
Give it to me, Mconkie, Maconkey.

Speaker 17 (01:49:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:49:47):
From He's gonna get a lot of targets.

Speaker 2 (01:49:49):
He is gonna get a lot of targets because we
have nobody else.

Speaker 9 (01:49:51):
Exactly, No, I'm telling you and facts and well, by
that same logic, that's why I would go Amari and
Hampton because love to run football there and they will.
And the absolutely he was pretty much. I think he's
probably a better overall running back than Ashon Genty. There's
been some people that say, yeah, yeah, so I think
he's gonna get a ton of you said in Los

(01:50:12):
Angeles there.

Speaker 2 (01:50:13):
All right, you guys gave me a lot to think about.
So I appreciate you helping me with my fantasy football draft.
Is this cheating?

Speaker 3 (01:50:18):
I'm not sure, but here we are does make a suggestion,
just making suggestions. I would be the one to make
the selection. We're gonna wrap this up on the other
side with a little Carrie on or off. He is
Carrie the All Pro safety and you can follow him
on ex Twitter at Carrie twenty five Roads on Instagram
at carry Roads. I am Monty Bologos. You can follow
me across social media at Mancy Bolanos. Let's wrap it

(01:50:41):
up on the other side with Carrie h Easy No
carry on, that's where very night, somebody where by Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:50:53):
That's fun bug on Thot.

Speaker 17 (01:50:57):
I'm just.

Speaker 2 (01:50:59):
All the pressure is on. The pressure is on. What's
up everybody wrapping up our show?

Speaker 3 (01:51:09):
Here a little Shakida waka waka. It's time for Africa.

Speaker 6 (01:51:17):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:51:18):
If you guys did not see our dance video, it
was great. It is still on Twitter.

Speaker 7 (01:51:25):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:51:25):
I put it on Instagram, but on the story. Maybe
I'm gonna put.

Speaker 3 (01:51:28):
It on the instag grid and make it a permanent
video because a lot of people really liked it. A
lot of people are very jealousy. It's like Dan Bayer,
he was like, oh, so you just have dance parties
with the best crew. And I was like, I was
like Dan Byer, if I put on Shakida, or if
maybe might put on you would not be dancing.

Speaker 15 (01:51:50):
Music, by the way, so it wouldn't even work.

Speaker 4 (01:51:52):
It wouldn't even work.

Speaker 2 (01:51:53):
Yeah, he he was on. He was he is diva.

Speaker 3 (01:51:57):
Diva who's on vacation, enjoying your vacage vacation. Yeah, so
maybe I will. He is definitely playing golf, you know that.

Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
Maybe I will put that on insta grid so it's
just permanently there.

Speaker 3 (01:52:09):
But if you go to my Twitter, and I don't
think you have to scroll a lot because I don't
post a lot a lot, but I did post this
dance party that.

Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
We had last week. Right, it was a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (01:52:19):
Hey, you were living it oh with the best crew
over at the best River.

Speaker 2 (01:52:25):
I could not stop laughing and I kept watching it
because I would watch you in the background. It was
so good.

Speaker 3 (01:52:32):
Thank you everybody for hanging out with us on this
August twenty fourth Kobe Day. Almost at October, I'm just
all over the place. But yes, thank you to the crew.
Mary Mack, thank you. Appreciate you girl. Always music keeps
us alive and well. And yes, we had Iowa Sam
to start things off, so Iowa Sam is done for

(01:52:53):
the day. We appreciate him. Our producer Bo Benson wouldn't
be here without him.

Speaker 9 (01:52:58):
Thanks Bo Big Bow, You're welcome.

Speaker 2 (01:53:03):
And Steve de Sager, what a treat.

Speaker 3 (01:53:05):
Happy Steve Disager here on a Saturday he's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (01:53:07):
Here giving you all the updates. The best one to
do it.

Speaker 4 (01:53:11):
Steve so clutch.

Speaker 3 (01:53:12):
He is so clutch, I know, I know. It just
rolls off his tongue. Yes, goes from sport to sport
to sport. I can't even say the date, right, you
know what I'm saying. And then Steve Sager is just
rolling with it, which we appreciate.

Speaker 2 (01:53:24):
But no, let's wrap it up a little fun. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:53:32):
Don If you've ever heard this segment, I basically just
present Carrie with some.

Speaker 7 (01:53:41):
This or that.

Speaker 2 (01:53:41):
Does he agree with this.

Speaker 6 (01:53:43):
Or that or not?

Speaker 7 (01:53:43):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:53:44):
You carry on or you carry off?

Speaker 7 (01:53:46):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
All right, Carrie, field storming is part of college football.

Speaker 4 (01:53:55):
I'm carrying on on carrying. Yeah, I mean, you know,
big games used the matter a lot, and when you
win those, the fans deserve to be, you know, a
part of the party.

Speaker 2 (01:54:08):
Absolutely.

Speaker 7 (01:54:08):
I know.

Speaker 4 (01:54:09):
I know the security thing is becoming an issue. I
know basketball is harder because it's such a fountain and
closed situation. But with football, run out there and tear
the gold post down. Just don't hurt yourself.

Speaker 3 (01:54:20):
Just don't hurt yourself. I have never been able to
storm a field. Because I went one. I went to
Calsta Fuller ten and then there's a football team.

Speaker 4 (01:54:28):
One more thing months And when you jump off that
that thing jumping on the field, make sure you really
know how far down it. I'm saying some horrific injuries
from there too.

Speaker 2 (01:54:37):
Have you ever stormed a field? No, have you been
on the field when it's been stormed.

Speaker 4 (01:54:40):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (01:54:41):
We beat Florida State in two thousand and two. We
were up and coming. They were number two in the country.

Speaker 4 (01:54:47):
We beat them at home, any and our fans stormed
the field, throw down the goal post, the whole deal.

Speaker 2 (01:54:51):
Nobody. I love that nobody got hurt, because that's the
big thing, right, like security.

Speaker 5 (01:54:55):
Well, I don't know, you know, somebody may have.

Speaker 3 (01:54:58):
But the SEC now finding for this season five hundred
thousand dollars for stormfielding. But the Arkansas Razorbacks have found
a loophole, and I'm all about it. So they have
basically said to their students or their student athletes, however
you want to that as long as they have to
wait three minutes so that everybody could get to their

(01:55:19):
lockers or everybody could get away from the field, because
the SEC is putting this in out of security for
the players, opposing players, personnel.

Speaker 2 (01:55:26):
And everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:55:27):
So the Razorbacks are like, you have to wait three
minutes and they're gonna put a counter from my understanding
for them to see, and then once the three minutes
then you can go on to the field.

Speaker 5 (01:55:36):
Well it's a nice thought, nice gesture, but it's still
not the same.

Speaker 2 (01:55:40):
It's not the same because.

Speaker 5 (01:55:43):
They're running out with the players to celebrate.

Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
So I mean, I guess I'll keep it up, but
I get what you're saying. It's the only way to
get away with it. But you're one, right, Okay, carry
on or off? This may this may be the Chief's
revenge tour. I'm all that you're off.

Speaker 2 (01:56:00):
That you think Chiefs are done. I think Patrick Mahomes
did it looked too bad in the preseason.

Speaker 4 (01:56:05):
I think I think I think the Chiefs finished second
in that division to the I think the Charge is
going to win the division. Yeah, and you know Chiefs
could very well win it. But I don't think it's
a revenge too. I mean the Chiefs for Patrick Mahomes personally,
he needs to play better, yes, but the team, what's
what fifteen and two? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:56:22):
Absolutely, and in a mid fifteen and two, like a
fifteen and two that you're like, how did you get there?

Speaker 4 (01:56:27):
Exactly?

Speaker 3 (01:56:27):
He just seems it seems like he has more weapons
this time, offensive weapons obviously, Like I he preseason take
it with the grain of salt, but his last preseason outing,
he was out there for a quarter and a piece
of the second and you know Rashid Rice for a touchdown,
threw some nice deep touchdown or just passes down deep.

Speaker 2 (01:56:47):
He I feel like he is on a revenge tour.

Speaker 3 (01:56:50):
Maybe you're right that it's not the Chiefs, ye, but
that he Maybe you're right, it's his revenge tour to
prove that what you saw last year is not him.

Speaker 4 (01:56:57):
Yeah, people are questioning it. These are the unquestioned number
one quarterback. Now absolutely that's never happened, which.

Speaker 3 (01:57:02):
Is crazy because he still has a lot of time
left in the league, so he's not going anywhere, all right,
carry on her off.

Speaker 2 (01:57:09):
Adopting a child is one of the most selfless things
you can do.

Speaker 5 (01:57:14):
I'm gonna say, for the sake of this honor, yes
it is carry.

Speaker 2 (01:57:18):
On, carry on and now go ahead.

Speaker 3 (01:57:21):
You got the reason I bring this up is because
Millie Bobby Brown, the actress from Stranger Things, twenty one
years old, married to bon Jovi's son.

Speaker 2 (01:57:30):
I don't know his name. Do you know his actual
This the guy.

Speaker 15 (01:57:33):
Like Bonnie's Jovi something and I go play on von
Jovi though, Oh is it okay?

Speaker 1 (01:57:37):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:57:38):
I did not know that.

Speaker 3 (01:57:38):
Anyways, they're married, very young, she's twenty one years old.
And then they came out and said that they have
adopted a child, and so many people attacked her for
it because she's only twenty one, and that's what they
were saying. It's like, okay, y'all, she's twenty one, but
she's not a normal twenty one year old. She has
been she has enough money, she's lived and also, like

(01:57:58):
the thing with children, it's very expensive. And if you
can adopt a child and save them out of not
having a family, I don't. I don't see how you
make any negative out of this.

Speaker 5 (01:58:08):
It just depends, manci.

Speaker 4 (01:58:09):
There's a lot of ill, ill intented people in the world,
and so obviously we want to hope for the best
when somebody gets adopted and they go to a great place,
but there's a lot of dark stories of people.

Speaker 5 (01:58:20):
Being you know, being adopted as well.

Speaker 9 (01:58:22):
Fair I feel like people also may not know who
grandpa is.

Speaker 2 (01:58:26):
Bonjo.

Speaker 9 (01:58:28):
I think that kid's gonna be just fine regardless of No,
they'll be fine.

Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
Of course they will be fine.

Speaker 3 (01:58:32):
And I understand what you are saying, But to attack
them exactly when they have all the resources, all of
the money, all of what they can to provide a
life for a child, I just.

Speaker 2 (01:58:45):
Didn't understand the backlash. You know what I'm saying, that's
just hate for no reason. And I know we're we're
kutting close here, but carry on her off.

Speaker 3 (01:58:52):
Malik Beasley is no longer a target of the FBI's
investigation into gambling, but he definitely did gamble.

Speaker 4 (01:59:00):
I'm on it, man, he did it.

Speaker 5 (01:59:05):
Of course, he gambled him alone, right, Remember that.

Speaker 2 (01:59:07):
Game against the Clippers. Nine seconds left or something. He
gets the rebound, dives to the other side to score.
So the over under was eight and a half and
it became nine when they scored.

Speaker 4 (01:59:16):
He scored quickly and did the Tiger polls.

Speaker 2 (01:59:18):
That's exactly what he did. Thanks for tuning in, guys,
