Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio Super Bowl rematch,
a battle of ponies in Indie and the Panthers and
Cardinals playing. That's our late window right now. Walk theme
in it is end Zone Radio here on Fox Sports Radio.
Today's show is sponsored by Draft Kings. Stay tuned because
you'll hear more about Draft Kings and all it has
to offer throughout the show. DraftKings. The crown is yours,

(00:23):
no offense to the Arizona Cardinals in Carolina Panthers or
the Broncos and Colts, which right now is a good game.
As you heard Monty say midway through the second quarter.
This late window is set up for the Super Bowl
rematch Chiefs and Eagles, and it feels like the Eagles
have kind of weather. The early storm settled in Saquon
Barkley the touchdown, and now Kansas City is going to
have a drive stall, so Harrison Butker is going to

(00:45):
have to settle for another field goal attempt after missing
a long one earlier in this contest.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, it's a rematch, obviously, we love to see these
games and see what happens with the team that lost
that Super Bowl. You know, they come out motivate it,
wanting something to prove. And right now, I mean Philly
has kind of hat holding status quolda upseven nothing, Chiefs
got another chance to get some points here. It looks
like it's a good kick by Bucker seven three. Now

(01:09):
it's going to be a tight one. These teams are
ready to play. Do we love to see this game?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
I don't even want to see it in the super Bowl,
let alone the second week of now that new NFL season.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
This is you don't want to say it.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
No, I don't, Actually I don't, and I know this
is our Fox big game, so this may seem to
go against company lines. I just don't need to see
it in week two. Give it to me in week
eight and week nine, when we know a little bit
more about these teams. It was the Super Bowl nine
months ago that we were kind of like, okay, yeah,

(01:39):
all right, seven months ago. I guess doing my math.
But the point being is now we get it in
week two is the marquee game. I could have just
waited a little bit longer for this one.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Then if we waited longer, they would have realized that
the Chiefs aren't going to be as good, so it
would have.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Been, it would have given away.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
We needed it early to see that that hangover from
the seven months ago, right, So I think I think
it's a good spot.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I think it's a good spot. Those are fighting words.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
I will say this that when the Chiefs beat the
Eagles in Super Bowl fifty seven, they played the next
year in Kansas City, and the Eagles won that game,
and Nick Sirianni was seen yelling at the Chiefs fans
in the tunnel a bit of revenge, which I thought
was immature and childish at the time. I don't think
if Kansas City wins today that they will look at
it as revenge from Super Bowl fifty nine. But in

(02:26):
saying that, it's not a must win game from Kansas City.
And I think the shape of the NFL what we
know the NFL regular season now and the postseason, to
start off oh to two isn't great, but it's not
the end all be all that it previously felt, just
because of the expanded playoffs, an extra game in your schedule.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
But if you're the Chiefs and you start off zero.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
To two, I know there are games against the Chargers
and the Eagles, the defending Super Bowl champions, but that's
a really rough start for a Kansas City team. If
you don't get this victory, if the Eagles don't win today,
I don't think it's as big of a deal, but
I think it's a much bigger deal for Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I mean, we heard a lot offseason talk about how
they were going to be better and they're gonna be
more focus coming into the season. So you know, obviously,
playing two tough opponents, they can go either way. But
we've been accustomed to them pulling these games out against
good teams tough teams down the stretch.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
And I've talked about it before.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
You cannot rely on continuing to win in one score
games that just in the history of the NFL, it
just doesn't continue that way.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
We saw it before.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
We saw it with Minnesota a few years ago when
they won all those close one score games and the
next year didn't make the playoffs. So right now, the
Chiefs are in a tough position. They don't want to
start off one two. It's why I wasn't as high
in the Commanders this year. Me too, And it sounds
just as simple as things aren't going to go your
way like they did the last time around. But I
think that that right now. You look at Washington in

(03:50):
Week one and you see what they did against the Giants.
It wasn't an impressive game, but they gotta win and
short week, tough spot against Green Bay. I'm not faulting
them for losing that game.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Because that's a tough task to begin with. Yeah, however,
not everything is on your side, Not everything is going
your way. Early on Commanders now dealing with an injury
to Austin Eckler. Those are the things that unfortunately, this
former player you know well about this. Injuries are up
part of the game, and if you can dodge a

(04:20):
season without getting injuries, you're gonna be all right. Kyle
Shanahan even talked about it for his team, saying like
last year he felt like his team was the year
prior they were the healthiest team in the National Football League,
and now they're dealing with a brock Perty injury where
he misses today's game and probably gonna miss next week
against Arizona as well. So injuries are always a part
of it.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Always in the main part.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
And that was the main reason I talked about pumping
the brakes on Jaydon Daniels in general. I know, if
you've heard me talk about and I've talked about it
a lot, anointing these guys after one season that they're
the next big thing and they're going to be mvped like.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
It just doesn't work that way.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Now.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Teams have tape on Jaydon Daniels and what they like
to do and what he likes to do, and they're
going to take that away. So now what's going to
be his off He has to go through that process
early and that's where we are with them as well.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
So we're keeping our eye on these three games, just
three games in this late window. I was joking with
the guys prior to the show that Monday night has
one more game than the late window does on a Sunday.
So we've got a doubleheader Tomorrow night where there are
two games at the day, We've only got three in
this late window. Anow, there's an injury in Indianapolis that
has you standing up.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Yeah, I was like, I don't like to see that.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Courtland Sutton almost no, Pats Tartag, sorry, Pats Tartag was
limping off and that kind of we don't want to
see that for Denver.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Defensive Player of the year now, not on the field
for the Broncos team that is trying to get a
stop on fourth and one, and I think they just
got one at midfield. Interesting that I believe Jonathan Taylor
gets to carry for Indianapolis in that scenario. Daniel Jones
has been pretty money for them in short yardage situations.
Trust me, I know Jonathan Taylor on my fantasy team,

(05:55):
like many of us doing are like what is Daniel
Jones doing? But in here, in this situation, the Colts
unable to get something done. Maybe they didn't even go
to Jonathan Taylor. They didn't They went to the rookie
Tyler Warren on a bit of a I don't want
to say it's a trick play, but he's lined up
to the right of Daniel Jones and they handed it
off to Tyler Warren and he did not get the

(06:16):
first down. That would be your third option. I think
if you're Shane Steichen in that scenario, I understand that
Tyler Warren can do a lot of different things. But
if you have the size of Daniel Jones, if you
have Jonathan Taylor in that situation against the Broncos defense,
I would have given it to at least one of
those two. I wouldn't have gone to option see in
that short yardage play.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
You know what reminds me of and the person I
think that would actually have run that play is your
coach for the Broncos, shn Peyton. I think he would
have tried to trick him and do it that way
instead of just going to the bread and butter play
and getting the first down.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
After last week, Yeah, Sean Payton's gonna do everything. Finally
something when Sean Payton's way, and now the Broncos with
a quick play get into Colt's territory and a fourteen
thirteen matchup in Indianapolis. His bon Nicks is trying to
drive the Broncos down. The Cardinals have gotten a big
play to Trey McBride. They jumped out to a ten

(07:09):
to nothing lead. Panthers added a field goal, but now
Arizona in scoring territory as we have four p fifty
three left to go until halftime. Now a first and ten,
this is a game for Arizona. Can't lose it if
you want to not only keep pace but contend. You're
starting off the season. If you had an opportunity to

(07:30):
pick your opponents at the beginning of the year, you
would have gotten what Arizona got. They got the Saints
and they got the Panthers, so that puts them off
on the right foot. Sometimes you look at games and
you say, we got four games here, we got to
go three and one during the stretch. However, we go
three and one, We're gonna go three and one. And
now with Arizona, you got to start out. You got

(07:51):
to go two and oh when you have that start
to your schedule, especially with now your division Seahawks gonna
win in Pittsburgh. Today Niners are two and oh even
without brock Purty and a big one next week with
they'll face them without. But you can't step up this
one looking ahead to a matchup with the Niners next week.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Yeah, the Cardinals have no place to look ahead of anything.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
All right.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
You got to play and do and take care of business,
the business that's right in front of you. And right now,
the two games they got have been favorable, so you
have to win those games.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
So sure, all right, there's a look at our late
window of games. There were nine games earlier today in
the NFL. One of them went a long long time.
It was in Motown. Let's focus on that.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
Now it's time for the NFL on Focks focus.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
A very familiar guest on all that Carry roads, A
gat introduced he was the analyst for Fox Sports on
the Lions victory over the Bears today fifty two.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
To twenty one.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
And your former teammate, my former teammate, my buddy, one
of my really good friends. He had the call today
in Detroit, and so we're gonna go to my guy,
Jonathan Bill.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
How you doing, brother?

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Oh, I'm good, Garry, how you doing, Bro?

Speaker 1 (08:55):
You know it's all good, all love Here, I'll tell
you what not good for Ben Johnson. We're gonna start
with the negative because Carry's so positive. You know this, Jonathan,
I will be mister negativity every three hours on every Sunday.
Bears OZ and two get demolished by the team that
they were familiar with, obviously, not only with conference foes,
but the Ben Johnson return. What are your takeaways after

(09:18):
seeing the Bears in person today and now that they're
off to win on two start?

Speaker 4 (09:23):
Yeah, what you saw is a team that is four
years into five years actually into a culture that would
helped to be set by Ben Johnson and now versus
a team that's now trying to find their identity in
the Chicago Bears and Ben Johnson as the head coach.

(09:46):
And that's what you saw. You saw a team when
the Bears that they want to be good, They do
play hard, they just don't have the mental discipline yet
to not have the unforced theirs to be detailed when
they need to, to make a play when they need to.
And then you saw a team that frankly got their
butts kicked by the Packers, who said, okay, we lick

(10:09):
our wounds. We're still a great team. We're a very
prideful team. Now we're going to go out and execute.
And that's what happened.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Dabie.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
We talked during the week. I knew you were starting
to do your film study on kayleb Ben. We talked
about him not trusting his reads and his feet started
to you know, get happy when he when he didn't
throw the ball on time. Did we see improvement today
with that or was it the same you know status
quo with Caleb Williams right now.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
So it's a it's a good question, a loaded question
of I don't I want to be to sync in
my comments, in the first half, there is a definite
intent of Caleb Williams to try and throw on time,
to run the plays within the offense, and then if
his athletic ability is called upon to get out of

(10:56):
the pocket and use those crazy arm angles to throw
a football, he'll do it. The issue comes when the
game starts to and it goes back to the mental discipline.
The game starts to get away from him slash the Bears,
and now you know, an offensive lineman gives up an
inside pass rush move and he has to kind of
get out of the pocket. Now you have to do

(11:16):
that two or three times, and then the intent goes away, right,
And so I think that's the issue that I'm seeing,
where he's trying to throw on time when it's all
kind of just you know, status quo. It's good and
it looks good, and you can tell why they drafted
him number one. As soon as things start to go awry,
it becomes very challenging, not just for Caleb, but for

(11:39):
the team, the Bears team in general, and obviously it
starts with Caleb. It's hard for them to kind of
weather the storm and then get back on course.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Jonathan Fillman joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. He
was on the call for Fox as the Lions rout
of the Bears at fifty two to twenty one. What
can you take away from the connection of him in
Rome today? Because it seemed that Rome played pretty well
and was a favorite target of Caleb Williams. Is that
a positive if you're a Bears fan that you could
take moving forward?

Speaker 4 (12:11):
You know what, there are a lot of positives you
can take that being one of them. The Rome of
Duneesay is going to be a special wide receiver for them.
When I spoke with Caleb, I spoke with Rome. They
are very intent on trying to do things the right way,
and you can see that connection right happening right right
before our eyes. So that's a positive. The defense, when

(12:33):
they're not on the field so much, they play hard.
They play really hard, and they get after it. There
was a stretch there where the Bears offense had to fumble,
the Bears offense had a turnover on down, the Bears
offense had an interception, and the Bears defense only gave
a three point So there's a lot you can take
from the Bears. It's just that unfortunately they drew the

(12:54):
short stick today, right, you drew the short straw, whatever
the phrase is. Because Detroit got their butts kicked a
prizeful team. They won fifteen games last year. It frankly
didn't matter who was lining up today. Detroit was on
a war path to win.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
And that's a that's a good that's a good point,
jav and we and we know this in football, where
you play a prideful bunch on the other end, and
they just came off a tough loss, They're gonna come
out and play. I want to talk about I want
to talk about Detroit a little bit though, because I'm
a little I was a little bit on the fence
with them, and you know, the additions, the two new
coordinators they brought in and actually having to learn a

(13:28):
new system again and go through that process. How have
how has that team taken to those two guys, and
specifically Jared Goff. I mean, he looked great today, but
last week he looked a little a little sluggish.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
You know, they are not as good as the score
in the Caps, right, and the Bears are not as
as bad as the score in the case. The Lions
offense will be as dominant as they were before. So
long as they can communicate to the offensive line, and
you have Christian Munkntgomery, young guy, Tate Ratlich, rookie. Graham

(14:05):
Glastow's a vet, but he's now playing center. So this
center guard guard combination. As long as they can communicate
and they're on the same page, they'll be fine. The
problem comes when they're not on the same page. They
remember it was easy for Frank Ragnow and Graham Glasgow
when he was a guard. They had all these unsaid rules, right,

(14:27):
unwritten rules. They knew how to work off each other
and it was beautiful to watch. Yeah, now it's going
to take time to get that back. With the offensive line.
They're gonna have to gell so you know, there'll be
some growing pains with it. Fortunately for them, they have studs,
absolutely stud at every position, running back, wide, receiver, tight,
and they got studs. Man, they're good.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
They also have studs. We'll leave with this. They also
have some studs on defense. Eight Hutchinson obviously great Brian
branches all over the field, it felt like today, but
defensively because there's a change at Cordon at that spot
as well. What does Detroit need to do if they
want to get back to the places that they were
the last couple of years.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
One, communicate. Two, be more firm against the run than
when I say firm, it's not the play call and
it's the get off blocks. It's the push your guy back,
knock them back. They have guys that are physical. They
will come up in the run. Brian branch I like
the way that he gets after in the run game.

(15:28):
But they need to be more consistent in those two things.
Constant communication and being more more firm in the run game.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Simple as that civil recipe for success. That's what it is.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Dan And just like in the media world, communicate, let's
carry and I we love.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
We love to communicate. We love to communicate with John
when he comes on. Saw.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
I saw quite the game today in Detroit. I know
it was a blot. Sometimes those contests aren't the easiest
to handle. You guys did the stellar jobs.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
If he hasn't earn his money on those gamesah, you do?
You really do?

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Exactly right, that's right, that's how I get paid the
big buck.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
And coming off of a big Hurricanes win yesterday over
South Florida as well.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
So don't get it, don't give him that Dan, don't give.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
Him that too. I'm I'm cautiously optimistic. All right, Let's
let's go about six more weeks down the road and
let's see where we are. Whin an acc title, then
then let's talk.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
That sounds good, and we'll talk sooner before that. Thanks, Jonathan,
appreciate it, Leader, guys. Leader Gary Carrie's former teammate with
the New York Jets, Jonathan Villeman, now our teammate on
Fox as he watched the Lions take care of the
Bears today fifty two to twenty one. So here we
are again, three games of the slate window. We told
you about to play for the Cardinals to set up
that Trey McBride got him in Carolina territory, ended up

(16:44):
settling for a field goal. So it's thirteen to three,
a minute forty seven to go until halftime. The Broncos
knocking on the door, first in goal at the three
yard lineup fourteen to thirteen after that fourth down stop,
so Denver trying to extend their one point lead, and
the Chiefs just inverted a fourth and four, Travis Kelce
with a big catch and run to get them down

(17:05):
in Philadelphia territory, down seven to three to the Eagles,
four minutes to go until halftime. But the Chiefs are
facing now a third and five. We'll let you know
on how they convert, and if they convert, display and
then we'll take our time out. No, Travis Kelce on
the field for this third and five play from the
Eagles nineteen yard line.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Yeah, no, the Chiefs are what is it third and
five here? Yeah, they're going to try to go up
top to Hollywood Brown. Looks like he looked there, for
he looked there.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
And then all the Eagles, all of them, all of
them came and descended upon Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
They even got to him.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
And I think that there was a penalty on Kansas
City as some laundry was thrown in the backfield. We'll
let you know how that plays out. As we just
see a flag on the play, and now the Chiefs
are saying that the call maybe on Philadelphia, and it
looks like Hollywood Brown is limping off. Kelsey's about to

(18:01):
come back onto the field. So this was a flag
on Philadelphia, it would very likely give the Chiefs a
new set of downs. If it was on Kansas City,
you're declining the penalty. If you're Philadelphia, we don't have
the luxury of seeing or hearing the audio, I should say,
we can only see what is going on. And it

(18:22):
looks like there was a hold.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Maybe it was.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Offsetting penalties, so they were offsetting penalties, one on the
secondary and one in the backfield. So it'll be third
and five again, and now Patrick Mahomes has Travis Kelcey
on the field, but it's Mahomes running for a first down.
It looked like he was going to be stopped shortcarry,
but leg Day proved strong as he was able to
power through to the defender and get the extra two

(18:47):
yards on a six yard run, so to be first
and ten for the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
That's the other I guess the underrated aspect of Patrick
Mahomes games. I know a lot of people know that
he can scramble and get first downs, but he's a strong,
big dude as well. So running through the defender for
the extra y'all had to get the first down, big
play for the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
It took a lot of flak for the play that
he made in Brazil when it looked like he was
laid up and then lowered the shoulder that time was
Legit running through Broncos facing a second and gold Bonicks
into the end zone. Touchdown Broncos. So the Broncos are
into the end zone. Doesn't look like there's any flags.
Extra point will be coming up there. And as for
the Chiefs, fresh set of downs as Patrick Mahomes scrambles

(19:25):
and now there he is, gets into the end zone.
Patrick Mahomes doing all the work for the Kansas City Chiefs.
So two quick scores there. That's where we sit in
this late window. He's Carry Roads, the NFL vetting starter
since day one. Find him on exit carry twenty five Roads.
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox. What

(19:45):
a show the Cowboys and Giants put on? We break
down the game of the day from the early window.
Next on Fox Sports Radio.

or wherever you get your podcast from.

Speaker 7 (20:37):
Eagles and She first and ten, Chief's empty backfield three
by two left or right at the Eagles thirteen Chiefs
down four two fifty two to go in the half.
Mahome's looking left all the way now moves to the right,
houlds the ball in his hand.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Gets a downfield block.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
Ten fine Hon's darning for the new front pylon.

Speaker 8 (20:55):
Tucksdown Kansas City on a.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
Thirteen yard scramble.

Speaker 9 (20:59):
My Maho.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
He's back to his white.

Speaker 7 (21:01):
House wild head days running the football and the Chiefs
haveing their first lead of the game.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
Back to Dan Byer and Carrie Rhodes.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
It is end Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio ninety
six point five, the Fan Chiefs Radio Network with the call.
The extra point is good and Kansas City's up on
the Eagles is there at the two minute warning right
now inkse ten to seven again.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Quite a run.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
By Patrick Mahomes to get into the end zone on
that one, this after getting a first down with his legs.

Speaker 3 (21:31):
Just a player so earlier, yeah, I mean doing what
great players do.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
He was able to, you know, buy some time, get
out the pocket, get two crucial big plays on a
third and five and also on the scan on the
scunbefoot the touchdown as well. So big play by Patrick
Mahomes and now generitely Hurts have the answer and.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
We're gonna go to Mancia just a little bit. But
Arizona right now is facing a first and ten, but
there's only nine seconds left in the first half. Is
they are in the red zone against Carolina and the
Cardinals don't have any timeouts, So I would think you
would probably see maybe a past the Marvin Harrison junior
Michael Wilson, maybe back of the end zone, take some

(22:08):
time off, but one that really can't be intercepted, can't
have anything bad, You just can't have anything in the
field to play right now with nine seconds.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Yeah, with Kyler Murray taking that chance, I would be
a little bit worried, though, you know, he's a guy
that's prone to try to make the big play and
make something happen when he shouldn't. Just right here, be safe,
throw the ball out the back of the end zone
and take the points right now points on our premium.

Speaker 1 (22:30):

Arizona with those nine seconds and they do exactly what
we talked about, and there you go, big play, touch down, touchdown,

(22:53):
Kyler Murray hitting Michael Wilson back of the end zone.
It wasn't exactly how I had it in my mind,
but I'll take.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
A win for that one.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
I'll see dan Kyler Murray, he's gonna take a little
bit of a risk like that was. That's one of
those ones where it's like and then you catch it,
it's a touchdown. So you had to make sure that
the throw was gonna There was no time to run around.
You had to throw it into the end zone. And
it was one of those where it was either going
to be thrown out of the end zone or his
receiver was going to get it.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Now the question is did Michael Wilson get both feet down?
The official was right there, one foot right and it's
close what I gave it to him. I think he
got tripped up and was able to maybe to get
that ankle down. Extra point is on his way and
it is good. So the Cardinals had a big score
at the end of the first half, while the Eagles

(23:42):
are trying to drive against the Chiefs again. Right now,
Philadelphia has got the ball in Ego's territory and the
culture on the move. Let's go over to Monty Blanios
is gonna give us an update of what's happening in
the earlier games today, plus for what we got going
on in Indie, what's happened.

Speaker 10 (23:57):
In monci oh A lot's still going on, guys football,
WNBA playoffs of baseball, Cal Rawley with another home run.
All of it is happening, but we'll start in the NFL.
The Broncos have a twenty one to thirteen lead over
the Colts with less than two minutes to go in
the first half. Bo Nicks has thrown three touchdown passes
for Denver so far, the Cardinals have extended their lead

(24:18):
over the Panthers twenty to three, and they're seconds away
from head to head into halftime. You guys started off
this segment with Patrick Mahomes highlight. Who would have thought
five carries sixty yards a rushing touchdown. They're on top
of the Chiefs now ten to seven less than one
minute to go in the first half. The games that
have wrapped up from the earlier window. The Cowboys walked
it off with a forty six yard field goal from

(24:39):
Brandon Aubrey to beat the Giants forty to thirty seven
in overtime, but Russell Wilson for the Giants hit Maleik
Neighbors with the forty eight yard touchdown pass with twenty
five seconds left.

Speaker 8 (24:50):
Dallas tied the game with the sixty four.

Speaker 10 (24:52):
Yard field goal from Brandon Aubrey to send it to overtime,
and then they walked it off. Also, by the way,
Jerry Jones told reporters after they wont one that they're
signing defensive EENNG of.

Speaker 8 (25:01):
Davian Clowney to the team. So, of course, Jerry Jones with.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
The knee, I good news for you guys.

Speaker 10 (25:08):
The Lions crushed the Bears fifty two to twenty one.
Jared Goff twenty three of twenty eight three hundred and
thirty four yards, five touchdowns. I'm and ross sain Brown
caught three of those touchdowns for nine catches one hundred
and fifteen yards. Bengals lost Joe Burrow early in the
game to a left toe injury, and Jake Browning said,
don't worry, guys. I'm gonna throw three interceptions, but we're
gonna win.

Speaker 8 (25:28):
I promise. Twenty one of.

Speaker 10 (25:29):
Thirty two two hundred and forty one yards, two touchdowns,
three interceptions, one rushing touchdown, and the Bengals beat the
Jaguars thirty one to twenty seven. Patriots held on thirty
three to twenty seven against the Dolphins. Bills outscored the
Jets thirty to ten. A slow day for Josh Allen
fourteen of twenty five one hundred and forty eight yards,
six carries for fifty nine yards. He did have a
bloody nose, so we can't get too mad at him.

(25:51):
The Ravens top the Browns forty one to seventeen. Lamar
Jackson nineteen of twenty nine two hundred and twenty five
yards and four touchdowns. In that one, the Seahawks defeated
the Steelers thirty one to seventeen. Seahawks got an easy
seven because of a Steelers rookie running back Caleb Johnson
didn't I don't know if he didn't know the rules.
I don't know if he thought the ball did not
touch his helmet. I don't know what happened, but it was,

(26:12):
you know, on a kickoff.

Speaker 8 (26:14):
It went into me.

Speaker 10 (26:17):
And he didn't go after it, and then it went
into the end zone and that's how the Seahawks got
the easy seven points. But he didn't even react, so
I don't know if he thought the ball didn't touch him.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
I will also say this, when you're it doesn't matter
if you're a rookie or not. This whole kickoff rule
is so new to everybody that I just don't think
that you could say, like, oh, it's a rookie didn't.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Know the rule.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
I followed football for forty years of my life. He
played in the NFL. We have all like it is
confusing with what is and what isn't totally, So I'm
just not ready to give him a pass. I'm not
saying that everybody should be absolved. It's just it's not
a rookie mistake. You have to know the rules if
you're in that situation.

Speaker 8 (26:56):
Totally, totally. The Rams beat the Titans thirty three, forty.

Speaker 10 (27:00):
Nine ers top to Saints twenty six to twenty one.

Speaker 8 (27:04):
When it comes to baseball, just a couple scores here.

Speaker 10 (27:07):
Dodgers have extended their lead over the Giants. He in
San Francisco, five to one, top of the fifth inning,
all Mariners against the Angels.

Speaker 8 (27:13):
It's eleven zero.

Speaker 10 (27:14):
I'm just double checking that Cal Rawly hasn't hit another
home run. He did hit home run number fifty four
on the season. Nope, he's so good. Everybody else is
scoring for him and the padres of a seven to
one lead over the Rockies bottom of the fifth inning.
Did the Mets win, Yes, they snapped their eight game
losing streak.

Speaker 8 (27:29):
They beat the Rangers five to ten innings.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Back to you, guys, Wow, the NL wild Card at
one point was thought to be a foregone comption.

Speaker 8 (27:35):
And now it is boring is what I think people
said a month ago. It's boring and now here we are.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
What a what a contest. By the way Colts get
into the end zone.

Speaker 8 (27:43):
And remember Someos Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Jerry Jones and the Cowboys get away and then they
get Jadevian Clowney Jonathan Taylor on the touchdown reception from
a Daniel Jones gets the endo the end zone. So
it's a twenty one to twenty contact again. Battle of
the Ponies.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Yeah, no, it's crazy. I mean, there's a couple right
now where we're standing to be disappointments for me early,
but right now I'm actually really impressed with the way
the Colts are playing in these first two games. I
know they played the lonely, the lowly Dolphins, but now
they're playing a team that you picked to go to
the Super Bowl, and I think a lot of people
think are going to be really good. And right now,

(28:24):
Daniel Jones Danny dying. They're gonna call him dying today
because this is two weeks in a row. He's playing
really well and the Colts are playing some good football.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Two hundred and thirty five yards passing in the first half.
But again, Patrick Sutan going out with that injury surely
helps Indianapolis. I know it doesn't matter on the scoreboard,
but not to take anything away from Daniel Jones. But
it is a storyline here in one of our three
late games. Yes, the Cardinals are at the half with
the Panthers up a twenty to three. Now the Eagles

(28:51):
sitting there, it's ten to seven. Philadelphia still has the football,
They've got two timeouts remaining thirty nine seconds left to
go in the half. They are in Kansas City territory. However,
a third and nine from the Kansas City forty four
isn't the easiest of spots to be and Gerry. We
saw Harrison Butker miss a kick of length earlier in

(29:13):
this contest.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
This isn't a.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Situation where Philadelphia I think, would love to have four
or five. They'd obviously love to get the first down,
but in a scenario like here, this could be four
down territory.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Yeah, if they would just stay where they were at
thirty nine, I wouldn't even risk kicking that kick. It's
too long, and then you if you miss it, you
give Patrick Mahomes another chance to score as well. But
now they got yards. I think they're close to the
first down here, so either way they're in a good
position if they want to go forward here or kick
the kick.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
Now it's a better kick in this scenario, they've got
AJ Brown got eight and a half, so now you
know what's going to happen. You have one time out
left because they just used it on this after the
completion to AJ Brown. So that's where the Eagles now
are trying to this side. What is going on is

(30:03):
there's conversations with Jake Elliott and how the egos are
going to proceed. Here's the point. There were thirty nine
seconds on the clock. We can't see the graphic on
how much time ran off, So the egos did not
call a timeout until they let the clock.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Run down to two seconds. Got it.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
So Philadelphia said, we're not going to push, push this
and then be frantic for the next thirty seconds. They
decided to let the clock run down from the thirty
nine down to two seconds, and now they're going to
attempt a fifty two yard field goal from Jake Elliott.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
I think it's the right move. Obviously, you get the
tis push, you get the first down, but I mean
you're going to get a yard too. It's not like
you're getting too much of a difference there.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
So what they could have done this was the dilemma
because AJ Brown was inbounds. The clock continues to roll,
so you would use a time out there with thirty
one seconds. If you do push push on fourth and short,
you have to use your time out and now you're
just kind of maybe a little helter skelter. But instead
they just decided to run the clock down and call

(31:06):
a timeout. There are a lot of situations we were
critical of Sean Hayton last week in some of the
moves that they made with the Broncos. In that scenario,
if you're Philadelphia in a ten or in a three
point game, down ten to seven right now, I don't
think it's the worst case scenario to do what they did. Yeah,
but on the third and nine, Carrie, I did think

(31:28):
that you had two timeouts that they would try to
at least get enough where they could go forward on
fourth down. They're choosing not to do that instead settling
for a fifty eight yard field goal. Outdoors on grass
and arrowhead isn't as easy as indoors on turf in
some of these other places that we've seen.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
One hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Yeah, I mean, whenever you're kicking in the weather in
the elements, you never know what's going to happen. You
got to check that wind and right now it looks
pretty stillell. So he said, have a good opportunity to
make this one. You know that they're allowed in Kansas City.
I don't know if that's going to make any difference,
but Elliott's kick looks like it's long enough and it
is true. So the Eagles grab some points and some
momentum at the end of the half, getting some points

(32:05):
on the board in a ten to ten ball game.
DraftKings sports Book and official sports betting partner of the NFL,
brings you today's show and it also brings me to
the DraftKings sports app. You can also go to the
sports book online. And I'm looking at right now tonight's
Falcons Vikings matchup. We think that the quarterbacks are going

(32:25):
to be the story of the game. I look at
it this way. When you have the wide receivers of
a Drake London who's going to play, and a Justin
Jefferson who's going to play, That's where my eyes are.
And if I'm looking to place a bet Justin Jefferson
right now, anytime touchdown score plus one ten, that's pretty interesting.

(32:46):
Drake London, who had the shoulder injury, but is going
to start today not too far behind plus one sixty five,
So so plus money on some anytime touchdown scores tonight
or expect the wide receivers to play a big role
in this game. Well, I'm hoping you're wrong, Dan, because
I would hope that you have put some money on
Cayl Pitts today Kyle Pittso outside of the receivers, I
would go Kyle Pitts over thirty seven and a half

(33:08):
receiving yards and that's plus money as well as plus
one oh two.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
I would look in that direction if I was going,
and you know I love those anytime touchdowns. That looked
up Pits right now. Plus three eighty five for an
anytime touchdown, So it could be in the first minute
or could be the last minute of the game. It
doesn't matter as long as he gets into the end zone. Again,
that's on the Draft Kings Sports Book and the Draft
Kings Sports Book app. He is carry Roads. I'm Dan Beyer.
It is end Zone Radio. So we've got three games

(33:32):
right now, all at the half, perfect time for us
to take a time out. Chiefs and Egos tied at ten,
Cardinals up on the Panthers twenty to three, and the
Broncos lead the Colts twenty one to twenty at the half.
Coming up next, we'll have a look at your fantasy numbers. Plus,
it was a very very big week for Carry Rhodes.

(35:25):
Cardinals and Panthers are just underwegh. In the second half
in that twenty to three ball game, well, the Broncos
and Colts remain at the half twenty one to twenty,
Denver in the lead, and the Eagles and Chiefs in
the Super Bowl rematch tied up at ten at half
time in Kansas City. Let's let's get a look at
some fantasy numbers from Manzi Blanios.

Speaker 5 (35:41):
Fantasy Hits and Missus.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Manzi was groobing for the.

Speaker 10 (35:47):
South Well, of course, of course when you sent it
to me, I played it.

Speaker 8 (35:51):
I was like, Sean, this is Carrie's you single. We
were like, yeah, in the car, jamming it out the
san damn out too. Yeah, okay, Yeah, he enjoyed it.
He enjoyed it. We were at Lincoln Park last night.

Speaker 10 (36:02):
Very different from Lincoln Park, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
I sang crawling in my skin and I could barely
keep up.

Speaker 8 (36:08):
So here we are, get there, you go, there you go.
Don't maybe look bad. Don't make me look bad, David.

Speaker 10 (36:18):
Yeah, all right, guys, we're gonna do some fantasy hits
right now. If you played Jared Goff, good for you,
because he had three hundred and thirty four yards in
the air, five touchdown passes.

Speaker 8 (36:29):
He had a couple of rushing yards, but that's not
what did it.

Speaker 10 (36:32):
So he has almost thirty four points for this week
coming in at number two.

Speaker 8 (36:37):
For your quarterback Russell Wilson.

Speaker 10 (36:38):
Yes, the Giants lost, but that guy three for four
hundred and fifty yards. He was cooking, three touchdown passes,
he did have an interception, but twenty three rushing yards,
thirty one points for you and coming in at number three,
and really it's a tight score. But Lamar Jackson and
Drake May both gave you twenty six points in today's performances.
Lamar Jackson threw for four touch down passes, Drake May

(37:01):
two hundred and thirty yards and two touchdowns in the
air as a.

Speaker 8 (37:05):
Well, and a rushing touchdown.

Speaker 10 (37:07):
Then running backs James Cook, you know he did the work,
not Josh Allen for Buffalo today. One hundred and thirty
two rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 8 (37:15):
He gave you twenty six points.

Speaker 10 (37:17):
Devon Hien formed Miami today even though Miami lost. He
did have eleven rushing attempts with thirty rushing yards and
eight receptions to go along with ninety two yards in
the air and a touchdown in the air. He gave
you twenty two points. If you're looking at your wide receivers.
I'm so mad about this one. Dan A'm and Ross
Saint Brown because I almost got him in Arghantine League

(37:38):
thirty four points. He had seven rushing yards on two attempts,
but nine catches, one hundred and fifteen yards in the
air and three touchdowns. You know, Jared Goff, I'm in
Ross Saint Brown thirty five points almost for almend Ross
Saint Brown and coming to.

Speaker 8 (37:54):
At number two for the best wide receiver of the
day so far. Malik Neighbors and the Giants.

Speaker 10 (37:58):
Yeah, thirteen targets, I catches one hundred and sixty seven yards,
two touchdowns for thirty three points.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
He should probably throw Mylak neighbors the ball.

Speaker 8 (38:07):
You should probab and he did. And I'm gonna Russ.

Speaker 10 (38:09):
Russ was cooking with myleak neighbors, and my leak neighbors
did the celebration.

Speaker 8 (38:15):
Act or the night night celebration a little a little
too early.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
Way too early too. Jerry Jones was like, I'm very old.
When I stay up late, I'm not going to bed.

Speaker 8 (38:26):
I'm not going to bed yet.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
But that's that's I don't even know what accent that is.
I don't even think it's close to Jerry Jones, but I.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
Just get my line.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
Yeah, that was that was very I don't know what
that was.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Dan just I just spent three minutes glossing over his
song and I do one Jerry Jones repression and he's
hating out.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
I'm going to get I'm going to give you. I
wish I didn't know your carrot. I wish I didn't
know you Mexico.

Speaker 8 (38:52):
At least we knew it was Jerry Jones.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
How about them now, Sancheless?

Speaker 11 (38:56):
Oh man, uh, I don't know where we're going right now.
Cardinals are driving, Yes, Cardinals, Cowboys gonna win today. Jerry
Jones is happy for his greatest Russell Wilson was. There
was an interception and overtime sets up the Cowboys field goal.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
I don't for as great as Russell Wilson was today.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Yeah, you steal want Jackson Dart Well, that's inevitably what's
going to happen. Yeah, So like for Russ to then
maybe maybe maybe a couple of great performances allows him
to play next year as a starter. But otherwise, even
if he throws an interception, even if they win that game,
at some point.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
You're gonna go to Jackson dart. Yeah, that's the point.
Like we've talked about it, I think it's Jackson's darts time.
And obviously Russell Wilson comes out and plays the way
he plays.

Speaker 10 (39:43):
A day.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
You can say, look at Russ but they're not gonna win.
Get the young guy in.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Well, not yet, at least at least Milik Neighbors got his,
as Mancy said, even though the.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Celebration was a little too early.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Hit Mancy up at Moncey Bolano's find Carrie at Carrie
twenty five Roads. You can find me Dan Bayer on Fox,
Chris Profedder technical producer. He gives away for the rest
of the day. So thank you very much, Chris, call
your work. Shaye Morgan guard is our executive producer as well.
Shay putting in all the work tracking down Jonathan vilma
in so much more, all right. The late window, Chiefs

(40:16):
and Eagles just underway in the second half, as are
the Broncos and Colts in the cards knocking on the door.
We'll tell you if Arizona cash is in And what
happened to the Steelers today? That's next on Fox. JK
Dobbins in the end zone, So the Broncos have a
little bit more of a cushion. The Eagles trying to
drive against Kansas City and that Super Bowl rematch.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
And are you calling it? Are you?

Speaker 1 (40:38):
Are you saying that even with seventy two percent of
the precincts and Cardinals going to beat the Panthers say
they're up by twenty four.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
Is that where you are right now, Carrier Roads, Yeah,
I think so.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
I told you that this is my biggest disappointment in
the first two games so far. It's the way the
Carolina Panthers are playing, and so Arizona taking care of
business and they're trying to go to and.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
No, there was momentum with Carolina at the end of
last year. Bryce Young, remember was benched after a couple
of games to start last season. Andy Dalton took over.
Then Bryce Young took the job back and Carolina showed
some promise.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
I actually believe it was a game against Arizona that
they they played an overtime affair in Carolina sheball Hubbard
at a big game at the end of last year.
You felt that maybe Carolina would be able to continue
that that climb in so far.

Speaker 3 (41:28):
It just hasn't happened.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
Lost to Jacksonville last week in a funky game that
had a weather delay. No weather issues here. They're just
having issues with the Cardinals as Arizona's up twenty seven
to three.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Yeah, this is one of your sleeper teams, the Cardinals.
They're they're looking there. They're handling business early here. And
I mean, Jonathan Gannon is doing a great job, my
former college team mate, so I'm happy for him.

Speaker 3 (41:50):
I put Arizona in the playoffs. Yeah, so like I did.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
I didn't have them winning the NFC West, but I
do have them in the playoffs. And again with Arizona,
it's not about whether James Connor can stay healthy, even
though he's in older back, because they have Trey Benson,
They've got other guys.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
It's all on Kyler Murray. Yes, that's it is.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
He's one of those guys that when you watch him,
he can make amazing plays and sometimes he's very accurate
and sometimes he's really good, and then on the flip side,
he's really bad and he forces the ball and turns
the ball over in the most inconvenient times, and so
that's kind of where he is. He just needs to
find some consistency. And like you said, they're going to
go as.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
Far as Kyler Murray and now Arizona and joking but
not joking. At the start of the show, I said,
if you could pick your first two opponents for the season,
you would have done what Arizona got. They face the
Saints and then faced the Panthers. But now you got
two division opponents coming after that, one of which is
on a short week. So they've got the Niners next week,

(42:51):
but not expected to have Rock Purdy for that game,
expected to be Mac Jones. Then you get the Seahawks
on a short week coming to Arizona. This really could
shut up well for the Cardinals for the first month
of the season where it's not out of the realm,
no possibility that they're four and oh with a couple
of division wins in their back pocket. So it was

(43:14):
important for the Cardinals to take care of business today,
and it looks like they are, even though the Panthers
are driving in Arizona territory.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
And I told you.

Speaker 2 (43:22):
About those You know, those four and no starts, they're
not always equal. You start four to oh and you
think you're riding high it's happened to me before. I
told you that before, where we were four and oh
we beat the Michael Vic Eagles and they were, you know,
that high flying offense. We're four and oh end up
being five and eleven at the end of the year.
So let's let's wait, let's wait and see what this

(43:43):
thing goes. This is just the foreshadowing. Yeah, because this
is what's at stake now. The Seahawks and the forty
nine Ers will also get to play the opponents that
the Cardinals have played. In fact, the Seahawks get the
Saints next week. Saints play their first road game next week.
At the point is the crossover game of the crossover

(44:04):
divisions for the NFC West is the AFC South.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
Yeah, and after.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
The Seahawks, after the forty nine Ers game in Week three,
in the Seahawks game at home on the short week,
and week four, the Cardinals welcome the Titans to town
and then they're at Indianapolis.

Speaker 8 (44:19):
Woo, let's go.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
So it's there for them. The schedule toughens up. Then
you've got the Packers and then you've got your forty
nine Ers games and your other division games. But the
tougher teams that we had thought, at least in those
other divisions as well, don't come up later. Cardinals have
just been fortunate where they've gotten the two worst teams
we believe in the NFC South, and then we'll get

(44:43):
the Titans and cam Ward in one of the games
in one of the teams that you didn't think was
maybe gonna finish high in that.

Speaker 3 (44:48):
Division in the AFC South.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
So it's at least set up early for Arizona where
they don't stumble, they could be in a really good
spot the first part of the year.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
It is, and I'm really concerned for the Saints. I
don't think they're going to win a game all year,
and I know that sounds ridiculous. I mean, the NFL
team can can stumble upon a win, but they've actually
not played bad these first two games. Yeah, no, I
mean that's why I gave you that lit I No,
I mean they haven't, but they still can't win, and

(45:17):
so it's I'm actually it's going to be interesting to
see how many games that the Saints actually win this year,
because I think they're the worst team right there, followed
closely by the Dolphins as well, but competitive in their
first two contests, had a chance today against the forty
nine ers and didn't get it done in San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
Ends up getting the victory.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
But the Saints are a team that many of us
thought would likely be in contention for that number one
overall pick, and it's probably not gonna be arch Manning,
probably after yesterday's performance. But I'm still holding my stock.
I'm investing more into arch Manning. I think that there's
an injury there. Oh no, Dan, Yes, ten straighting completions yesterday.
A tough one for bad I know he was bad.

Speaker 3 (45:58):
He was bad. Who played they played? You Jet? Was
it Wood? Yeah? Yes, the Miners. He was four for seventeen.
At one point I was like, man, that's tough. Colts
are driving again. JK.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
Dobbins got into the end zone for Denver, giving them
an eight point lead, but Indianapolis now midway through the
third quarter is in the red zone in that eight
point contest. So running backs taking center stage. Two former
Big ten backs JK. Dobbins from Ohio State Jonathan Taylor
from Wisconsin doing some of the work. Egos ended up
kicking a field goal on their drive against the Chiefs,

(46:30):
so it's thirteen to ten, four minutes gone by in
the second half in that contest. And then we just
told you the Cardinals and Panthers. With the Carolina Panthers
driving twenty seven to three Arizona leads, Panthers do have
the ball first and ten at the nineteen yard line.
All right, So let's get into what happened today with

(46:51):
the Pittsburgh Steelers, because it's easy to say I'm blaming
Caleb Johnson for blowing this game because he didn't understand
the kickoff rule. Aaron Rodgers through a couple of interceptions
of them, Yes, one of the end zone that was deflected.

Speaker 3 (47:08):
No, I'm glad that you said that.

Speaker 1 (47:10):
But it's a Pittsburgh team that, even as a Seahawks
fan after last week's performance, I thought, geez, I've got
some questions about Sam Darnold. Maybe this is Pittsburgh going
to and oh in Seattle oh to two. I don't
think these teams are that much different than each other.
And I think that's something that showed to me today
was Aaron Rodgers is at a point where he can

(47:33):
get the football still to who he needs to get
the football to.

Speaker 3 (47:36):
Yes, but I don't know if that.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
Team is good enough to overcome some of the egregious,
egregious errors that occurred in that football game. Listen, no
team is going to recover from a guy not covering
a kickoff, Like that's just that's seven free points that
you've just given the other team. And when you're in
a battle of two teams that are fairly even, that's

(48:01):
really going to put you behind the eight ball. But
in using all of those cliches, I just wonder carry Now,
you had a game where the Jets were completely dominated
by the Bills today, So how good is New York really?
How good is this defense? The Steelers defense was really
banged up. And even if Aaron Rodgers can get the
football to everybody that he needs to, I don't know
if the Steelers are good enough to make themselves be

(48:25):
any sort of a threat in the AFC after today's performance.

Speaker 2 (48:28):
Yeah, it's it's just that that old adage of just
waiting to see right, Like we have to make We
live in the business. We work in a business where
we have to make proclamations. We have to call you know,
call things pretty much, you know in the moment, and
in the moment. Last week, the Steelers looked great. The
offense looked great, the defense didn't look great, and they
were able to overcome it. And even on the flip

(48:49):
side of that, we thought the Jets had a competent
offense and they can come out and score points and
run the ball that wheel and you go to you
fast forward the week two and all those things are
kind of it's like you have this thing where now
we questioned if the Jets can score again, and now
we questioned the Van Rodgers can get the job done.
So it's just week the week. It always changes and

(49:10):
you just you hit it on the head. The Steelers
are going to have to win by committee. They're going
to have to play complimentary football, and if they have
turnovers and have egregious mistakes like they had today, they
will not beat the top teams in that To visiit.

Speaker 1 (49:22):
Aaron Rodgers had a passer rating of fifty eight point
zero yep, and that was his QB rating for or
PATO was his passer rating. So our ESPN sometimes uses
their QBR. Then there's difference between a passer rating. Aaron Rodgers'
line was this eighteen of thirty three two hundred and
three yards a touchdown and two interceptions could have thrown

(49:45):
another interception. I don't know if the interception in the
end zone was really his fault. It was a deflected ball,
but it stopped them from scoring. The problem that I
see and I think Seattle. I know Seattle's got a
really good defense, like they do, like they're you're not
going to be able to put twenty and thirty on them.
They will get after you. So they got after the
Steelers today. It's even if Aaron Rodgers is great like

(50:09):
he was last week. Yeah, it took everything for them
to beat the Jets, and this week when things just
weren't great and there was a misque on the special teams,
but still Seattle goes to Pittsburgh wins that game in
a home opener. I think that I've maybe misjudged the
Steelers overall talent, and I think that's my fault in

(50:32):
looking at what Pittsburgh could have brought to the table
and reading too much into it. Last week where Dk
Metcalf they paid a lot of money to dk Metgeff
scored a touchdown. Today, DK Metcalf stats three catches twenty
yards that one touchdown.

Speaker 3 (50:45):
Oh wow, that's it. That's that's on the on the
six targets.

Speaker 1 (50:48):
The running game, they drafted Caleb Johnson not in Iowa,
but they have Jalen Warren was their running back. Fourteen carries,
forty eight yards. This wasn't a lot there for them
to do in that contest, and if you're making mistakes
like they are, you're just not going to win a
lot of football games.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
Yet, I wouldn't take too much stock into the DK
metcalf situations in this game because he's playing his old
team and they know him and they're gonna do everything
they can to take him out of the game. So
I would think game plan wise, they would probably have
to commit it to DK. I didn't see the whole game,
but just in my mind, I would think that would happen.
So again, they were going to make Aaron Rodgers in

(51:23):
that offense beat them with other guys, and obviously they
couldn't get it done. I want to give Seattle credit though,
going into Steer the Country and bouncing back from a
tough game last week against the forty nine ers and
getting to win this week in Pittsburgh was pretty impressive.

Speaker 1 (51:37):
Yes, Sam Donald had a lot of Seahawks fans frustrated
last week and today at times as well, even just
of the turnovers a couple of interceptions that he threw.
But there is obviously a connection with Jackson Smith and
Jigba eight catches one hundred and three yards. Cooper Cup
showed up today seven catches for ninety yards. What's interesting
to see with Seattle is how this backfield works new

(51:58):
blocking schemes. Clint Kubiak's taken over as the offensive coordinator,
which I think hurt them last week against the Niners
because it's the Shanahan system.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
They run the zone stuck yes, yes, and.

Speaker 1 (52:09):
So if anybody's gonna know how Clint Kubiak runs their offense,
it's gonna be Kyle Shanahan and San Francisco forty nine ers.
But it's interesting to see the split carry with Kenneth
Walker and Zach Scharbaday Charbonday got the carries in preseason
this year while Walker was held out. We know Kenneth
Walker has been susceptible to injury at times, even split

(52:29):
this time around. Even though Walker had a much bigger
day on the ground, ended up tallying one hundred and
five yards in a touchdown. I also think that Seattle
knows that they're a playoff team they won ten games
last year. You also have to make sure that Kenneth
Walker is available to you. So I think you could
see this split more and more as we go throughout

(52:49):
the season because you don't want to run Kenneth Walker
the third into the ground. But it's a new system.
It's going to take them sometime getting acclimated. But if
you're looking at it for fantasy wise, and Kenneth Walker
screwed you last week so you mentioned them this week,
probably not what you want to do in weeks moving forward.

Speaker 3 (53:05):
However, However, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (53:06):
If you're going to get a twenty nine carry three
touchdown game from Kenneth Walker early in the season like
you did last season or the year before.

Speaker 9 (53:13):
No.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
And the thing about those stretch running teams and how
they like to operate, they like to give you different
looks in the backfield as well, and so they're going
to use both of those guys. It's going to be
a running back by committee situation. That's just how they
operate because they want to run the ball and establish
the run and they want to give you different looks.
So it's going to be tough to actually choose one
of those guys in fantasy.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
Well, then why did Arian Foster get like thirty carries
in two and thirty yards a game all the time
in the Houston Texans.

Speaker 2 (53:40):
Because they were getting in those situations where they had
to run the ball. Like, when you and those have
to have it, you're gonna give it to your guys.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
I know, I know, like those Bronco and Trell Davis
teams were moving. But when the Texans were in their
prime with in a yeah, prime is a loose word
using the Texans, but when Arian Foster was at the
top of his game, he was not yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
He was nice as the kids like to say. The

(54:06):
Colts ended up settling for a field goal on their drive.
So that's a twenty eight, twenty three ball game in Indianapolis.
Denver facing a third and ten and it's now going
to be a third and fifteen as that were backed
up on a false start. So Denver a tough situation
here again, twenty eight to twenty three, Broncos on top
of the Colts. Still in the third quarter. We told you,
the Eagles kicked a field goal to take a three

(54:27):
point lead on the Chiefs. Eagles have the football back,
so that's now thirteen to ten Philadelphia with the football
playing in the third quarter in Kansas City, about eight
minutes to go, Panthers are on the scoreboard. Hunter Renfro
touchdown reception from Bryce Young two point conversion, failed to
try to make it a sixteen point game. So it's
now twenty seven to nineteen, or excuse me, twenty seven

(54:50):
to nine. Excuse me. Arizona on top of Carolina. Two
minutes to go in the third quarter in the Broncos,
they just convert that third and fifteen. Yes they did,
Tyler Addie out of the backfield getting seventeen on the
pass from bow Nicks. So the Colts defense unable to
get off the field and what was a screenplay and
a couple of mistackles and the next thing you know,
the Broncos have a fresh set of downs.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
He is carry roads.

Speaker 1 (55:13):
I'm dan Byer our NFL insider Adam Kaplan will join
us next to talk about not only the Cowboys signing
Jadevian Clowney, but what does Mike McDaniel's future hold in
Miami as he is now zero to two as the
leader of the Dolphins this season. This show is sponsored
by DraftKings. Stay tuned because you'll hear more about DraftKings
and all it has to offer throughout the show. DraftKings.
The crown is yours, Adam Kaplan. Next, he's carry Roads.

(55:34):
I'm Dan Byer. This is end Zone.

Speaker 12 (55:36):
Radio Eagles and Chiefs. Panther's showing blitz. They rush for
back to pass. Murray fires end zone middle of the
field and Michael Wilson goes up high to make the
catch and it's a touchdown with four seconds left in
the half.

Speaker 5 (55:50):
What a dart on target. Murray to Wilson, back to
Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
The Egles and Chiefs are playing. That was the highlight
for the Panthers Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
No, the guys knew it. The guys knew it.

Speaker 1 (56:03):
Just a lot going on. Chris said all that right away.
My bad, my bad, we can't tell you. Michael Wilson
got into the end zone four Carol or four Arizona
on a play that I called carry Roads. I told
you right before the end of the half. Cardinals Radio
Network on the highlight. Now after Thatt Eagles and Chiefs intro.
This is what we can tell you. Chiefs had the
football back. So they're down three. Philadelphia up thirteen to ten,

(56:26):
two forty four left to go in the third quarter.
But Kansas City now in Philadelphia territory, and what is
a I don't want to say it's a sloppy game,
but this looks like a game that these teams kind
of may have played recently. So the change from Super
Bowl fifty nine sure seems like they know a lot
about each other. Yeah, you're getting into a thirteen to
ten rock fight right now.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
You took the words out of my mouth. Dan, It's
a rock fight. Two really good defenses. Obviously, Kansas City
defense was a little disappointed from their performance last week
against the Chargers, and so they're coming out with their
hair lit on fire and playing will defensively.

Speaker 3 (57:01):
The Eagles are doing the same. I just think this
game is going to go down to the wire.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
Obviously, Kansas City isn't prime position to I feel, take
this game and steal this game.

Speaker 1 (57:11):
So let's see what happens. Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports
Radio NFL. Inside of that, you can also hear on
the Inside the Birds podcast, joins us now, as he
does every time this week, and so I felt Adam
in this Chiefs Egles game that we were just talking about.
Obviously you're based in the Philadelphia area, I felt more
must win for the Chiefs, not that on too is awful.

(57:32):
You just don't want to be there right now in
Philadelphia coming off of their win. How did you characterize
this game for Philadelphia heading into it today?

Speaker 13 (57:40):
So guys, I picked, you know, I always picked these
games down the middle. It's just about how I feel
about the game, and I felt comany and the Chiefs
are clearly not the same team that they were in
years past.

Speaker 4 (57:49):
Year.

Speaker 13 (57:49):
The passing game was not good. Last year, did not
look good last week, didn't look good so far this week.
A lot of random plays Mahomes has really been the
reason on the running game, all scrambles to save I
think save one, which was designed so look, they don't
look sure. Racy rights suspended six games, and with Worthy's injury,

(58:09):
it certainly is taken away from the passing game, no
question about it. But their passing game was shoppy last season.
So the hope is once they get those guys back,
that'll be better Philly. The thing is their pass protection
has been fantastic, but for whatever reason, Herts is not
pulling the trigger. Now, we don't get those all twenty
two of yous only on Thursday Night football in Amazon,

(58:31):
so we can't. We don't know exactly why Herts won't
pull the trigger. But Eagles have really had no passing
game to speak of.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
Dan That's where I mean, sorry, Adam, that's where I
was going. He was thirteen or nineteen at one point
for sixty three yards. I mean, he has so many weapons,
and this team is so like such a finely tuned
offensive machine normally, but they looked a little gun sign.

Speaker 3 (58:51):
He looks gun. Sigh.

Speaker 13 (58:52):
It does no Curry, You're absolutely right. Something's out right
now Dallas Scott their star tight end him not being
here now. Their pass project has been great, but he
had seven catches last week, though they were all short
and over the middle. Not having him has been a problem.
They don't have a quality backup tight end grand Cocu
Terra as a pass catcher an athlete, but he couldn't
block anyone. That that was a real problem last week.

(59:15):
So look, that hurts them, There's no question about it.
But you know, but overall, look, both offenses don't look
good in this game. And yet which is funny because
if you look at most games today, unlike Week one
where most of the games went under the totals so
many points. Today, dan as I sent it back to
a lot of exciting games.

Speaker 1 (59:33):
Yeah, including in Miami where the Patriots get a thirty.

Speaker 13 (59:39):
Like we expected, Yes, we expected like that.

Speaker 1 (59:43):
That game was was so amazing. The Dolphins grab all
the momentum with a punt return, and then on the
ensuing kickoff, the Patriots row on one back and and
it felt like each team was given the other team
so many opportunities to win. Ultimately, New England gets the
stop that they needed and leaves with a six point victory.
There have been so many rumblings this past week on
this network, Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins have been such a

(01:00:05):
topic because we feel that something could happen. I know
it's a short week. I'm actually going to be in
Buffalo Thursday night at Kaplin for this Dolphins Bills game.
But what is the layout with the Dolphins? Like how
long of you know, can Mike McDaniel last if things
are going this way for the Fins, Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 13 (01:00:23):
Look, that was the team that I thought didn't have
an identity coming to the season. I not only I
picked them as a non playoff team. I just felt
like they had no identity of who they are. And
that's now. Look, you got to be excited if you're
a Dolphins fan. At least I had a passing game today,
But defense didn't play well. Obviously special team's gaff and

(01:00:43):
then one obviously one great special teams play. But yeah,
that I mean I had them at six or seven wins.
That's what I think they're headed to now. They've got
offensive line problems at Chris Greer, the general manager, one
of the arriatories, really failed as their offensive line. He's
not since he's been the GM for many years, he's
never been able to build a quality offensive one. That's
been certainly a problem. He drafts fairly well, but defensively

(01:01:05):
they have not looked good so far. That's a concern
of mine. So they've been kind of who I thought
now because of Mike McDaniel, I would say this with
Steve Rossy's he's very patient, sometimes too much. We look,
they haven't made the playoffs before. It doesn't look good.
It's something if they are, if they're like two and six,

(01:01:27):
two and seven. That's when you got to start saying, okay, guys,
this this doesn't look good. We could see a change.

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
At some point, Adam, I want to talk about a
team that has it really looked good. They're two and
no though, but usually they saw it slow and the
fact that they're actually winning these these games ugly or not.
The Bengals they're two and o, but we know they
had an injury today with Joe Burrow. Do you know
anything about that and where that stands.

Speaker 13 (01:01:52):
Yeah, he couldn't come back with the tow injury, so
he'll get it reevaluated. I acsuming off testing tomorrow morning.
And I'll tell you what, Jake Brown's a pretty good
backup quarterback. He's done a good job. He's been there
for a number of years. And that Kerry, you know,
that's the thing about this business, as you know, being
an ex player, if you don't have a quality backup,
you really can't win. And Bro the thing is with him, guys,

(01:02:12):
He's had a number of injuries in his career. Now,
that game, that one, if you notice he had the ball,
He had the ball and then they fell on him
and he turned his foot and went up being his toe.
So that's certainly concerned. As we go.

Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
Forward here, how does Jerry Jones feel after today?

Speaker 13 (01:02:28):
I mean, it was one of the most amazing games
I've seen in years guys. And I know they're signing
to Davian Clowning, and by the way, is not a
great pas rusher. He's a fine player. I mean, they
have enough edges. I found it just to be very
odd that they're signing ju David Clouting. Now there you
could argue there they had no pass rush today, but
remember he visited a Wednesday, so this is not a

(01:02:50):
recent development. But yeah, that was That was a game
where I think, Dallas, you go, okay, we had nine
lives in this game. We survived, and all the Russell Wilson,
Hay and all the people said Russe Wilson should be replaced.
You're gonna have to hold on probably for a couple
of weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
Well, Adam, you know why Jerry Jones designed and the
Davian Clowney He said, what are you say in his
presser we're going to stop the run?

Speaker 9 (01:03:11):
Oh?

Speaker 13 (01:03:11):
Well, you know what's interested in nickel? He does play
you can play inside, but it is kind of a joke.
It's just really a joke that stopping the run. It's
really funny. If you talk to any kind of defensive coordinator,
they'll tell, you know, we need to control the run.
What we got to do is stop the pass.

Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (01:03:25):
Yeah, it's kind of the exact opposite. But Jerry's kind
of stuck in the eighties.

Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
But anyway, Yeah, this My whole deal with the Cowboys
is this is obviously, if you don't have Micah Parsons
and you ivan Kenny Clark's not enough to obviously replace him,
but you did it for the two first round picks.
There was obviously going to be going to be a
step back offensively, is the is the question that I
have because it took them to get into this wild
shootout for the offense to kind of get its you know,

(01:03:52):
to get its footing a little bit. Dak was over
three hundred yards, but it wasn't necessarily pretty, you know,
and Dak had his best year career wise with Mike McCarthy.
But they end up making the change offensively. Do you
think they're all right? Are they okay? Where Like, if
you are Jerry Jones, are you happy? Are you satisfied
with what you've seen from your team offensively.

Speaker 13 (01:04:12):
These facts again, Ruscott looked gat against they had four
drops one we've been in a touched out of Jake Ferguson. No,
you looked great last week against Philly. I know for
a fact they're pretty happy with it. Their defense, guys,
I mean they look they're really bad at corner. That
that's they kind of knew that it was going to
be struggle a little bit there. Kyrie Illaen's not really
playing the right scheme. He's more of a man corner.

(01:04:34):
That's why Buffalo traded him. And Matt Eberfuz runs a
lot of his own, so they got problems at corner.
Your Gig's come back from another major knee injury. You
know he's back. I mean he's playing. But they had
major problems on their back end of their defense. I'm
not really worried about their their passing game. Now, the
run game had some moments. Shravanti Win said that night's run.

(01:04:54):
But to me, it's the back end of their defense.
And look, they got it. It's funny they're super even
without Parsons. Guys, they're legit. Well, you put Clowney in there.
You got five guys could rush the passer clown's a
decent pass rush are not great, but that's not the problem.
They got to help their back end. They're not very
good at corner. That's what people need to be talking about.

Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
I just felt, and you're right about the drops fair enough.
Bad job by me there, but it did feel like
it took them a while. Today, I think the Giants
are better defensively than maybe we give them out.

Speaker 13 (01:05:21):
But Dan, no, they're very talented. Yeah, yeah, but good
for Russell Wilson. Now, now I would tell you talking
to Steelers last year, Russell Wilson got it. You know,
he did very well for a while. And then in
my report that I put out last January that it
was very simple. Arthur Swifth, the offense coordinator, had enough
of Wilson. He wanted a bencham and he still no,
he could not go to Justin Fields. Now this one's

(01:05:42):
different in that the jobs are on the line here.
Let's face it with the Giants, yep, And they drafted
a quarterback in the first round and that matters. So
there's gonna be a point. Now they're owing to the
history of teams zero and two getting the Super Bowl
actually shod me making the playoffs go back to nineteen nine,
well less than fifty percent. So you lout you go

(01:06:04):
to into which they are. And by the way, they
have the hardest NFL schedule. I do my own power
rankings and schedule rankings. By far, the NFL's tough to
schedule the season. Those Giants.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Well, Adam, you talk about teams possibly going on and
two and uh, their chances of making playoffs not being high.
There's a team that I thought was going to sneak
and win the NFC South in the NFL because they
got a big game tonight against the Vikings. I think
this is a must win for them, and I know
it's a tough spot to go into, but how do
you see that game playing out in Pinis and those
guys R I totally agree with you.

Speaker 13 (01:06:34):
They should have won last week's game and they had it.
They Eagles has had an interception?

Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Yeah they.

Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
Wow.

Speaker 13 (01:06:41):
Yeah, guys, I can.

Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Get Yeah, dog gets I'll get to it. Finish your thought.
Don't worry, Adam, I got yet.

Speaker 13 (01:06:46):
Yeah I had it because I have to watch this game,
but yeah, I got You know, funny I picked a
Land to be a wild card this season there. I'll
tell you what, Terry Fotos added a ton of talent
on this team. They just got to start winning. I
mean it's just simple. They got they got it. They
have to start winning, and they choked. That game last
week was against the Cardinals? Was it not so against? Who?

(01:07:07):
Do they lose to the Falcons last week at home?

Speaker 3 (01:07:09):
Hard Buccaneers?

Speaker 4 (01:07:11):
Box?

Speaker 13 (01:07:11):
I'm sorry, Box, Yeah, they had they had that game
right right the Cardinals. They wanted New Orleans. But yeah,
the Falcons with the two young pass rushers in the
first round, that eventual is going to help them. This
is a really fun game. And by the way, Harrison
Smith's not playing. Dalls saw the Vikings left tackle not
playing that. I kind of like the Falcons to win

(01:07:31):
this game tonight, I really do.

Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
Should be interesting.

Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
We'll let you get back to the Eagles Chiefs game
and watch that turnover the play that Adam was mentioned
the interception Patrick Mahomes threw a past to Travis Kelcey,
went off of his hands at the goal line, deflected
into Quinon Mitchell's lap. He took it back for about
fifty yards. So the Eagles lead thirteen to ten. Stop
the Chiefs and then get possession of the football now

(01:07:55):
at midfield. Crazy play, Adam, We appreciate it. We'll talk
to you in week three.

Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
How about that? All right?

Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
Out of you at Kaplan NFL is where you can
find him on X Why you got to smile on your.

Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
Fast A crazy pick by the Colts while the Broncos
are going in the score, big turnover, They're only down
five now twenty eight, twenty three with the ball the
Colts Denver Broncos are in trouble.

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Time for Danny dimes and dimes. They're gonna have a
lot of feel. They are backed up in their own territory.
Let's get more of that game. And what else is
going on in the NFL? Monci Bolanos at the news last.

Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
What's going on? Manzi?

Speaker 8 (01:08:26):
Yeah, A couple of picks in these last couple of
minutes here before.

Speaker 10 (01:08:30):
This Broncos interception, the Colts had the ball around midfield.

Speaker 8 (01:08:34):
It was four and two and they went for it
and they didn't get it.

Speaker 10 (01:08:37):
So the Broncos got the ball in a really nice
situation and as you just mentioned, they just picked off
bo Nick. So the Broncos have given the ball back
to the Colts. But Denver is up twenty eight to
twenty three, still early in the fourth quarter of this one,
and yeah, off the hands of Travis Kelcey, Eagles get
the ball back there on top of the Chiefs right now,

(01:08:57):
thirteen to ten, early in the fourth quarter. They are
at their own forty one yard field forty one yard line.
The Cardinals are on top of the Panthers right now,
twenty seven to nine Carolina. Carolina did get in the
end zone Bryce Young with a touchdown pass to Hunter Renfro.

Speaker 8 (01:09:11):
And they're in the red zone right now.

Speaker 10 (01:09:13):
But the Cardinals are up again twenty seven to nine
with about seven minutes to go in the game. Other
games in the NFL that happened today, the Lions crushed
the Bears fifty two to twenty one. Jared gobthrough for
three hundred and thirty four yards and five touchdowns. Lamar
Jackson had four touchdowns to go along with two hundred
and twenty five yards as the Ravens top the Browns
forty one to seventeen. Seahawks defeated the Steelers thirty one

(01:09:35):
seventeen as well. The Cowboys walked it off with the
forty six yard field goal from Brandon Audrey to beat
the Giants forty to thirty seven in overtime. No further
update on Joe Burrow's toe injury, but yeah, he left
the game.

Speaker 8 (01:09:46):
The Bengals still beat the Jaguars thirty one to twenty seven.

Speaker 10 (01:09:50):
College football news UCLA this morning fired head coach to
Sean Foster. He started his second season there OZH in three,
and Virginia Tech has also fired their head coach, Brent Fry.
He's gone sixteen to twenty four through the four seasons
and started this year ZHO to three as well. But
he's said to be owned more than six million in
a buyout, so not.

Speaker 8 (01:10:09):
Too shabby there. Baseball a couple games still going on.

Speaker 10 (01:10:12):
Dodgers over the Giants in San Francisco nine to one,
top of the eighth inning, Mariners over the Angels eleven
to two at home, bottom of the eighth, and the
Rockies have cut the deficit to one against the Padres
in San Diego. It's seven to six, bottom of the
eighth inning. WNBA Playoffs Liberty and Mercury. It's been a
close one all day right now. Mercury is on top
of the New York Liberty sixty one to fifty nine

(01:10:32):
with about six and a half minutes to go.

Speaker 8 (01:10:35):
Dream already defeated the Fever and the Links took down
the Valkyries. This is the first game of the WNBA playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
The gym teacher dropped the ball.

Speaker 10 (01:10:43):
The gym teacher dropped the ball right through his hands
then and then to catch it right like, it's so
much else to go right for you to be able
to pick that off when it goes off the hands
of someone else. Yeah, not just a clean pick, but
one of these games also, do you guys see Jalen.

Speaker 8 (01:10:59):
Hurts got obliterated.

Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
Yes, I jumped out my seat.

Speaker 10 (01:11:05):
He typically has so much time in the pocket where
you could cook an egg, and this one he didn't.

Speaker 8 (01:11:09):
See it coming. It looked like a w W me,
you're really it was so bad. It was so bad.
Back to you, guys.

Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
Hit her up at Monty Belanos Panthers knocking on the
door inside the ten yard log and be facing a
fourth and short six minutes to go on that one. Though,
Arizona is up eighteen while the Eagles continue to progress
in Chief's territory. Boy, that turnover is going to cost
them and a wild card race is crazy. The whole
deal things going on here at Fox Sports Radio. Now,

(01:11:39):
we have three games in this late window Tomorrow night.
There are two Monday night games. So you could sit
back and relax and have some fun. I suggest you
do it with DraftKings sportsbook and official sports betting partner
of the NFL, because when the Buccaneers and Texans take
the field on Monday Night football great cross conference matchup,

(01:11:59):
there's gonna be some big names that you're looking at.
I talked about earlier how I love the anytime touchdown
score in the Vikings Falcons game. I'm looking at that
Buccaneers Texans game right now. Nico Collins is at plus
one point forty, Mike Evans plus one fifty five. So
if your love of the wide receivers like I did
on Sunday Night, you'll love them even more on Monday Night.

(01:12:20):
Anytime touchdown scores in that Bucks Texans game.

Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
You're really you're really enamored with the anytime touchdowns. I'm
actually I'm gonna stick with you on that one as well,
but I'm gonna go Chargers in the Raiders game, and
I'm all right, and I'm actually looking at Clinton Johnston
making the big player in that game. He's coming out
this season playing well, so keep it up.

Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
Jonathan Taylor has busted a big time run for the
Indianapolis Colts, racking up the yard. So now not only
do they get that turnover, they end up getting a
big run from Taylor to put them inside the red zone.
Panthers got into the end zone, they go for two,
unable to do it. Bryce Young with a touchdown pass.

(01:12:59):
A lot happening here in this late window. Eagles and
Chiefs thirteen to ten, ten minutes to go. We told
you the Broncos are up five on the Colts, but
the Colt's driving with nine minutes left. That two point
conversion I mentioned that failed for Carolina has them within twelve.
So it's twenty seven to fifteen with five oh five
left to go. Arizona in the lead in that contest again.

(01:13:19):
Head to DraftKings Sportsbook. Get the DraftKings Sportsbook app. Find
out all of the numbers that Kerry and I are
talking about. Great place to be in, a great place
to have fun. On Monday night, hit him up, Bay
Kerry twenty five roads. You can find me at dan
Byer on Fox on x I do have some feedback
from Carrie's hit song that you'll hear coming up? Yes,
people are responding to the song. Plus yeah, who struck

(01:13:42):
out today? Who fell fat flat on their face? When
it comes to fantasy? We'll tell you next here on
end Zone Radio. End Zone Radio. He's carry Roads. I'm
Dan Byer. This is Carrie's new single, yeah coming. It
came out this week. Yeah, I'm glad I got to
know you. This is liams Verse right now. He's like
I said, it's really tented guy and so excited. I'm
glad you guys are playing it. Man, I really appreciate it. Spotify,

(01:14:02):
Apple Music, YouTube, Ole Deal, Apple Music. If I'd left
them out, I apologize. Eagles get it to the end zone.
Jalen Hurts, what do you know on a toush push
brotherly shoved from the one yard line on a fourth
and goal.

Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
Eagles cash in so that Travis Kelce passed.

Speaker 1 (01:14:21):
That went off of his hands and into the arms
of Quinjon Mitchell comes back to bite the Chiefs in
the you know what severely. There was a big pass
to Devonte Smith from Jalen Hurts to set them up.
But now the Chiefs are in a hole down twenty
to ten, seven forty eight left to go in the contest.
The Colts ended up kicking a field goal against the Broncos,

(01:14:42):
so Denver's defense holds. But it's just a two point game.
Twenty eight twenty six, six point forty in counting in Indianapolis.
Broncos have the football at their own forty six yard
line and Arizona's gonna try to run out the clock
under five minutes to go, facing a second and three
up in their own territory.

Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
This game isn't over yet.

Speaker 1 (01:15:02):
Despite the Cardinals up twenty seven to fifteen, Kyler Murray
a costly interception on the previous possession, something that you
didn't love that didn't set up the Panthers for points,
but it gave him the football back and failed Arizona
did in closing this one out at that point.

Speaker 2 (01:15:18):
Yeah, at that point it was twenty seven to nine
and Kyler Murray was going in for Arizona to score
that touchdown that puts this game out of reach.

Speaker 3 (01:15:27):
And we talked about it before.

Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
I mean with Kyler Murray, it's that like he plays
well in times and then he has like the inexcusable
turnover that gets the other team back in the game,
like right now, and yeah, this game is overhere. They
get a third down stop here and Carolina's still in business.

Speaker 1 (01:15:41):
And Carolina is using their timeouts now, which is smart.
It's a twelve point game, four to forty nine left
to go.

Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
But it makes you.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
It gives you another life if you get the football
back and score, and there may be enough time on
the clock for you to be able to do something
offensively if you are Carolina. But a big third and
six for the Cardinals on this one. Broncos have it
first and ten up too on the Colts. Let's go
over to the news desk. Manzi Blanos has got some
fantasy misses for us from week two. Go ahead, Monzi,

(01:16:13):
just take it away.

Speaker 8 (01:16:13):
I will take it away. That's just my uh.

Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
I'll provide the music.

Speaker 10 (01:16:18):
Thank you.

Speaker 8 (01:16:20):
I got to know perfect perfect.

Speaker 9 (01:16:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:16:23):
Let me give you some of the misses for today.
I have a lot of misses on my fantasy team.
Joe Burrow obviously was injured, but he left early in
the game. He did have a touchdown pass, but he
left with seven points.

Speaker 8 (01:16:35):
Which is probably not what you guys were expecting.

Speaker 10 (01:16:37):
Maybe you thought Justin Fields was going to have a
performance like he did last week as well. He did not.

Speaker 8 (01:16:42):
For the Jets.

Speaker 10 (01:16:43):
He had five rushing attempts for forty nine yards. For
forty nine yards, he also had a fumble loss. He
had twenty seven yards in the air. That was it.

Speaker 8 (01:16:53):
He ended with less than four points on the day.
Not ideal. Also not ideal. It's still a couple of points.

Speaker 10 (01:16:59):
But josh Alan also didn't do much if you were
expecting something out of Buffalo for him. He had six
rushing attempts for fifty nine yards and he threw for
one hundred and forty eight yards.

Speaker 8 (01:17:08):
That's all he did. Under twelve points. Probably not what
you were expecting.

Speaker 10 (01:17:12):
When it comes to running backs, you probably were expecting
Derrick Henry to do a little some sum Yeah, no,
eleven carries for twenty three yards and died with two
point three points.

Speaker 8 (01:17:23):
No boy on, no boy on.

Speaker 10 (01:17:25):
The worst part is I'm not even playing against him,
so it doesn't benefit me. Brie Hall also not so
hot for the Jets and did with less than five points.
Ten carries twenty nine yards. He did have two catches
and nine yards. When it comes to the wide receivers,
Keon Coleman. Maybe you thought he was gonna go off
like he did this week for Buffalo, but he only
had three catches for twenty six yards, ended with a

(01:17:45):
little over four points. Calvin Ridley, the expectation was that
he was gonna have a much better game today for
the Titans. He only had three catches for fifty seven yards.

Speaker 8 (01:17:54):
With a little over seven points. I kept them on
my bitch. Yeah, I didn't believe it.

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
It's it's smart that you did.

Speaker 9 (01:18:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:18:02):
Yeah, So the project the projection for him was like
seventeen on my end, I was like, there's no way,
but there's no way.

Speaker 3 (01:18:08):
Did you say it feels that twenty seven passing yards correct?

Speaker 8 (01:18:12):
Facts?

Speaker 3 (01:18:13):
Yes? What's the one is more disappointed? I mean, obviously
that's crazy.

Speaker 8 (01:18:16):
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
But Dereck Henry twenty.

Speaker 8 (01:18:17):
Two twenty I loving carries twenty three yards correct.

Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
With one more. Had a fumble today by the way,
that he recovered that they recovered. But another issue. Yeah,
Derrick Henry is more disappointing. Justin field, just up and down.

Speaker 8 (01:18:32):
I agree with Dan bad.

Speaker 3 (01:18:33):
As it was, plus he had a head injury. You
don't know the status is going to be moving forward. Yeah, yeah,
some missus disappointing.

Speaker 8 (01:18:41):
Just look again, look and there's some misses in this
window of games.

Speaker 1 (01:18:45):
Too, Yes, Kyler Murray with that turnover Airzon had to
punt it back to Carolina. So it's twenty seven to fifteen.
Rocas are in field goal range, but now facing a
first and twenty five after a fifteen yard penalty, so
at back them up.

Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
Indoors kicking shouldn't be a problem.

Speaker 1 (01:19:02):
Will Wats is their kicker, but you're gonna at least
want to get three here to make it a touchdown game.
And still twenty to ten Eagles and Chiefs in Kansas City.

Speaker 8 (01:19:10):
Thanks sponsees.

Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
This show is sponsored by DraftKings.

Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
Stay tuned because you'll hear more about DraftKings and all
that has to offer throughout the show. DraftKings. The Crown
is yours second and twenty three four minutes to go
in Indianapolis with the Broncos up on the Colts twenty
eight to twenty six.

Speaker 3 (01:19:26):
Broncos have the football at.

Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
The Indianapolis thirty nine yard line. Panthers with four minutes
to go in the contest, down twelve and Bryce Young
was just sacked. It's really going to help the cause
for Arizona to work on that clock. Heleaus Campbell.

Speaker 3 (01:19:39):
He's been in the league for eude. Do you mind
to you?

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
I was looking at it earlier down I saw his age.
I was like, Kalaias is thirty nine out there getting sacked.
That's amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
And the Eagles are.

Speaker 1 (01:19:49):
Up on the Chiefs twenty to ten, seven minutes to
go in that contest. He is carrier outs, I'm Dan Beyer.
Carry breaks down one of the biggest plays of the day.
Next here on end Zone Radio. Three games of this
late window here in week two and three of them
going down to the wire. One really down to the

(01:20:11):
wire in Indianapolis. Welcome in hit Carry up at carried
twenty five roads. You got me at Dan Byer on
Fox Broncos and Colts and that two point affair. Colts
have the ball near midfield. They're on the other side
of the two minute warning. It's twenty eight to twenty six.
Indianapolis has all three of their timeouts. Colts need a
field goal to take the lead, but they got to
get a little bit closer is right now? They're just

(01:20:33):
sitting there at midfield. Well, the Egos have a twenty
to ten lead. Now working the clock against Kansas City,
and in Arizona they're at the two minute warning. Panthers
and Cardinals in a twelve point game. The Carolina's got
the ball down at about the one yard line on
a pass completion from Bryce Young to Hunter Renfro. They
connected on a touchdown earlier in the contest. But Carolina

(01:20:57):
making things interesting against the Cardinals. Yeah, we talked about it.

Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
We talked about Kyler Murray and his propensity to turn
the ball over at inopportunity times and obviously at the
time he was twenty seven to nine, but they could
have put the nail in the coffin. But instead, now
they're in the ball game, and we talk about these
coaches wanting to be aggressive nowadays, and you know, going
for two and you know, trying to shorten the game

(01:21:20):
and put well, not lengthen the game by going for
two and getting these situations handled during endgame. But a
lot of times if you just take the points now
you're in a situation where you're and gotta have it
touchdown mode. But you can if you take the points earlier,
you can kick field goals and prolong the game as well.
So you know these things with these coaches, decisions are
always always an issue as well.

Speaker 1 (01:21:41):
And that's Dave Canalis and the Panthers backs are against
the wall anyway. But I think that your point is
fair as you're sitting there and you're trying to get
into the end zone, trying to cash in. But if
you're in a spot where you could save some time
by kicking the field goal, yeah, then you maybe should
have looked at that option and if they would have

(01:22:01):
been able to if they wouldn't have, now the extra
point is no longer a guarantee, but of course it's
much better bet than maybe the two point conversion.

Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
But they did it twice, right, They went for two twice, man,
So like, imagine those two points right there. They're only
down ten you kick the field goal, it's one score game.

Speaker 1 (01:22:15):
So here's where the Colts are. They just got a
first down there now in Denver territory. Yeah, and they're
down to about the forty one yard line. Broncos have
no more timeouts, so it looks like the Colts are
just going to try to set up for a Matt
Gay field goal kick at some point this off the
heels of Will Lutts missing a forty two yard or
for Denver that would have given them a five point lead.

(01:22:35):
His went off the upright and gave the Colts some life.
So Indianapolis setting up for the possibility excuse me, Spencer Schrader,
the kicker in Indianapolis, my bet on that one. But
the Cults right now setting up for possibility of a
game winning field goal, just trying to get a few
yards closer, as they have all three other time out
so you could run Jonathan Taylor if you wanted to.

(01:22:57):
They'd be able to stop the clock for however long
did like, Yeah, and we.

Speaker 2 (01:23:01):
Just had Carolina touchdown as well, So they just cut
it to six here with the minute and the fifty
eight left. They have one time out, so they're probably
going to have to go inside kick here to get
the ball back. But a much interesting, you know, a
much closer game than you would have been using early
on in it's half. So that's another game. And yeah,
it's Colts and Broncos game. Yeah, you just called it. Yeah,
they're primed to just try to get in the best

(01:23:22):
field goal position for the kicker and try to win
it here down to stretch against the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (01:23:26):
In that six point number, very very interesting to those
who are on the side of Carolina. You may have
heard of cheer, you may have heard of a gulp,
you may have heard an excel exultation. The line I
thought was six and a half heading into the game.
And when you're sitting there up eighteen like Arizona and

(01:23:48):
Kyler Murray throws the interception, you're like, come on, we
couldn't close it out, and this is what ends up happening.
Panthers come all the way back six point game, and
now is the Panthers will attempt their opportunity to add
on another point. There'd be no reason for Arizona to
do anything if they recover the onside kickep So that

(01:24:10):
number in Arizona a very magical one. The number in
Indianapolis I heard was two and a half heading into
the weekend, and Denver the favorite that contest, and the
Broncos right now sitting there at eight twenty six, so
that like number likely to stay. Seventeen seconds left, Colts
have two timeouts, third and seven. Again, this would be

(01:24:32):
about a fifty yard field goal at least right now.
If you have fifty seven I mean, unless they don't
get any more yards here, and they lost. They lost
yards in that situation. I know you don't want to
settle for a fifty seven in the yard field goal,
but they did.

Speaker 3 (01:24:50):
They did.

Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
I don't know why you wouldn't in that scenario, Kerry
run something with Daniel Jones and you have at least
on the outside of pass option. I know you don't
want to take yourself out of field goal range, but
you have enough time. You have the tight end, the timeouts,
you have a tight end, the Tyler Warren that you've
used in a lot of unique situations here, that would

(01:25:11):
have been the opportunity. I don't know how great it
is settling for a fifty seven yard field goal and
now that's a fifty eight or a fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:25:18):
Nine yard field goal. Yeah for Spencer Strader, Yeah, Dan,
I think this is the new NFL though.

Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
I think a lot of teams are more comfortable with
the long the longer distance field goals here. And so
we saw a big win earlier in the Dallas game, right,
but we'll see. I mean, he's indoors, he has a chance.
I'm sure he has enough leg to make this, but
this is a long field goal Chiefs sixty.

Speaker 1 (01:25:36):
Chiefs, by the way, are facing a fourth and thirteen
down ten with under four minutes to go, and the
delay in the Arizona game is an injured player. So
for sixty yards out Colts trying to go to two
and zero. Spencer Strader's kick he had enough leg but
is no good and it was short. In that scenario,

(01:25:58):
this is an and now the players are standing around
or he's a flag on the play a flag icon,
let's find out.

Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
Sean Payton.

Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
You know he loves those those late penalties and flags.
He's just going up to the referee saying, what's going on?
Sean Payton a victim of a no flag call in
the NFC Championship years back with the Saints and Rams.
The officials are discussing what is going on here? If
it's an after the play foul, game's got to be

(01:26:30):
over personal personal foul on defense.

Speaker 3 (01:26:34):
My goodness.

Speaker 2 (01:26:37):
And it may be did they try to jump over
the over the center to block it, because that's that
could be.

Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
Could have been a leverage call their review on the play. Yep,
so you can't exactly, you can't do that anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
Wow, here's here's.

Speaker 1 (01:26:54):
My question on that, and this is going to cost
them fifteen yards, So now it's a forty five year
hard field. Yes, and you get another try on it.
Just like when you put one in the woods off
the tee. The second one goes down the middle, it's
no problem.

Speaker 3 (01:27:07):
If he misses this, that would be it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:08):
There's no way he's gonna miss So it's a second try.
It's gonna be automatic straight down the middle.

Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
Boom, Colts win. Colts to Dad's win.

Speaker 1 (01:27:18):
Will they they're showing Will Lutts on the sidelines because
he missed the field goal. Colts would have played it
differently if they were down five, There's no doubt. So
it's not necessarily all on Will Lutts. Sean Payton's gonna
have some interesting things to say. Spencer Schrader ends up
getting the the Heroes celebration the path you just heart carry,

(01:27:41):
say it, you just don't carry, say it just covered
the outside cake. Who knew that Chiefs Eagles would be
the least entertaining of these late games in the window, Wow,
Jonathan Gannon has that look on his face like what
is happening? And all all the momentum is on the

(01:28:01):
side of Arizona right now, or excuse me on Carolina
right now, after Arizona had a lead. This was an
on side kick that was actually deflected by a member
of the Cardinals. The Cardinals had this set up, but
this was not a normal This was not a normal kick, Carrie.
This was not an end over and on side and

(01:28:21):
one of the upmen from Arizona it hit him as
it was going through the line and that's where the
deflection occurred. So now first onside kick recovery in eighty
nine games is the graphic put up by CBS Sports.
Carolina's in business. They've got a time out in a
minute fifty five to go in this game, and it's
a five point game.

Speaker 3 (01:28:42):
Oh Dan, they can win this game now. We just
talked about it. I talked about it earlier.

Speaker 2 (01:28:45):
I was very disappointed in the way Carolina came out
to start this season, and right now they can come
back and win this game and turn their season around
in just this wow moment of live football that's happening
right now.

Speaker 1 (01:28:56):
So we've had a game winning field goal missed and
then retried because of a penalty on Denver, allowing the
Colts to go to two and zero. Carolina has just
recovered the on side kick. The Chiefs have thrown a
deep pass and I think they just scored Kansas City.
Now on a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes on a
first and twenty.

Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
The Chiefs are in the end zone.

Speaker 1 (01:29:19):
Kansas City doesn't have any timeouts left, but Taekwon Thornton
with the touchdown reception for Kansas City fifty yards out,
three minutes to go. It's twenty to sixteen in Kansas City.
Now's the time for the Chiefs offense to wake up,
maybe too little, too late. Their defense is gonna have
to get a stop again. The only stoppage of the
clock will be the two minute warning. But there's at
least three minutes left in Kansas City.

Speaker 5 (01:29:41):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:29:42):
Back to what's happening in Arizona between the Panthers and Cardinals.
Third and ten, as Carolina has been unable to do
anything on these first two plays, play and I think
they're gonna call it. They called it dead as it
looked like there was a clear path to the quarterback,
but Carolina may have moved first.

Speaker 3 (01:30:04):
There may have been a no no. I think that's on.

Speaker 1 (01:30:07):
I thought it was a bare browning that ended up
jumping off sides for Arizona. So that's gonna be a
five yard penalty on the Cardinals. This window got really exciting.

Speaker 4 (01:30:18):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (01:30:18):
Down the stretch here, we thought it was gonna be
The Arizona game was kind of a wash and over with,
and you know, the Eagles went up by ten, and
you think that's on the way of being done. But
now we got answers in both of these and really
close games down the stretcher.

Speaker 1 (01:30:31):
In the second window, since we have a little time,
there's a third and five and the Chiefs have yet
to kick off. Just back to the Denver penalty. I
understand wanting to do what you can, and you think
a kick is going to be low, but it isn't
a sixty yarder just if he's gonna make it or not, right,
So the need to try to block it I don't
think is as urgent like six. I know we're accustomed

(01:30:55):
to longer field goals being made nowadays, but my point is,
do you need leverage penalty at that point? I know
you're trying, but that's the worst thing. I would rather
be off sides on the outside jumping early. If I'm
doing anything, it's the fact of a sixty yard field
goals basically are right, the guy's gonna I know it's
a lower kick. I completely understand that, so you want

(01:31:17):
to get your mits up. However, in that case, I
think ultimately so you don't get a leverage call. You
don't even worry about the guys who are in the
middle of the line. You're more worried about breaking through
another spot. I'm sure they've been taught that, Dan. They
obviously know you cannot do that now.

Speaker 2 (01:31:32):
I mean again, it is a low trajectory kicked kick,
So you want to get your hands up, jump, you
want to do those things, but just don't commit the file.
You don't have to leverage him. Just jump up and
put your hands up. Most of those guys in the
middle are big and will block it that way anyway.

Speaker 1 (01:31:47):
But yeah, and I think Carolina is just right out
of lives. The Anther's only had nine today, but Arizona
able to get a defensive stop on a fourth and five.
Bryce Young was running for his life.

Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
There is a flag on the play.

Speaker 1 (01:32:03):
This is either defensive holding and fresh set of downs
or holding on the off. It's got to be It's
got to be one of the two. The Eagles, by
the way, recovered the on side kick attempt to buy
Kansas City. So it's first in ten Philadelphia near midfield. Yeah,
why did they kick it on tide? I mean, why
didn't they? Why do you kick onside kick with three
minutes left? That's a good call, and it's defensive hold

(01:32:25):
on Arizona.

Speaker 3 (01:32:27):
Ten lives. Ten lives for the Panthers. Oh my goodness,
ten lives. This is wild. He's holding and it was
on technic tech McMillan.

Speaker 1 (01:32:36):
The Panthers wide receiver the was trying to get free
and the holding call was made against him. Wow. And
so now a fresh set of downs on a fourth
and five, this is in. The Eagles are now working
the clock. Sakuon Barkley with a carry of about this
is what you want. You want seven yards here because

(01:32:57):
you don't want ten because it's a fresh set of downs.
But get it so then you could do push push
if you want. He got He actually got nine. So
it's second and one. That's the perfect scenario for Philadelphia.
You need plays run here, you don't need yards. And
that's what that's what the Eagles ended up getting. Here's
the other thing, with Carolina now a fresh set of
downs at the Cardinals forty one yard line. We told

(01:33:19):
you they have one time out, they can run their offense.
There's a minute twenty left in this game in a
five point Arizona lead. If I'm Arizona, depending on what
happens here, I'm starting to think of using my timeouts
in case we need to get the football back one
hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
Yeah, I mean Carolina's in the driver's seat right here.
I mean they they're moving the ball there and a pilotyes,
just came down. But they're inside the thirty right now,
and they can take the time do anything they want.
And you had a good point, Dan. At some point,
if they get close enough, you know Cardinal's going to
have to start using their timeouts as well.

Speaker 1 (01:33:51):
Carolina gets called for a holding penalty. They did connect
on a pass to Chewba Hubbard, but that's going to
be brought back. It would have given it Carolina a
first down, but they're going to lose ten yards on
the play. Yeah, I'm if I'm Arizona in this situation,
especially because it's a it's a five point game. If
the Carolina Panthers score and worst case scenarios, they make

(01:34:12):
the two point conversion. Still, a field goal is your friend,
So you got to have some time left on the
clock for Arizona, and if teams are readily kicking sixty
yard field goals like they are now in the NFL,
you need to you need to save some time.

Speaker 3 (01:34:27):
And they're indoors as well in Arizona side. Yes, yeah,
that is that is an.

Speaker 1 (01:34:31):
Option, flat surface, no crown of the field at all.
It's almost like a like a basketball court on grass.
So Bryce Young is pressured and ends up throwing it
away on second and seventeen. So now it's third in
seventeen for Carolina and another flag on the play, so
he is not kidding.

Speaker 3 (01:34:51):
I knew it.

Speaker 1 (01:34:52):
Listen, Ron Torbert, the official. We got a personal foul
roughing the passer mall on Arizona, Josh Sweat, the newest Cardinal,
one of the newer Cardinals, I should say, getting a
roughing the passer penalty?

Speaker 3 (01:35:10):
Was he to the head? Was that the all the
follow through on? I didn't like that call though.

Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
Yeah, that's a bad coal. That is not a good call,
especially in this situation on a second and seventeen where
he's just throwing it away. I understand it's for the
safety of the players, but I don't think that Bryce Young.
The play that we most remember is Anthony Barr piling
on Aaron Rodgers from the vikings of Packers back in

(01:35:38):
the day. That was not this play, No, not at all.
Tom Brady's had this play called against him. Defenders have
had it called against him, and it was a farce.
I don't think that this was a call that was worthy.
But gives him a fresh set of downs first and ten.
Now it falls incomplete. Forty nine seconds left. Is Carolina
again in Arizona territory, but they need a touchdown. I

(01:36:00):
have the one time out and guess what, there's another
flag on the field. This is never going to end.
Is it June fourteenth? Is it flag Day? And I
didn't know it that somebody is check the calendar?

Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
Then, you know, you know what's crazy is we just
talked about it right before they scored dis test Now,
but again, if they just kick their extra points earlier,
they're only down three right now, and.

Speaker 1 (01:36:20):
Now they're going to call intentional ground ding. Oh man,
an intentional grounding would be a ten second runof unless
Carolina wants to use their timeout, and.

Speaker 3 (01:36:32):
They're going they're going back and forth from thirty thirty
to forty five.

Speaker 1 (01:36:35):
I'll tell you what, I would almost take the ten
second runoff. I'd rather have I'd rather have a majority
of the field with thirty seconds left. And yes, now
they have to they they end up taking the timeout
in that situation, but I would I would rather have
it be thirty nine seconds and have the timeout, especially

(01:36:57):
now it's going to be third down. Yeah for them,
where if you got somewhat, if you got eight yards
on that, then your fourth down play is this is
what we do on fourth down? Now, if there's anything
that's inbounds for Carolina as they're backed up to their
forty three yard line, it's significant here on the yardage

(01:37:19):
of what they're facing on this third down. Unfortunately, the
graphic on the screen didn't show us. However, it's fourth
and twenty, third and twenty in that scenario. So now
eleven live, then this is fourth What is the fourth
and twenty here? Will they get one more first down
or a penalty or is it over?

Speaker 4 (01:37:37):
Call it?

Speaker 1 (01:37:38):
Call it now, Dan, if there's another penalty here, you're
gonna finish the show, because I cannot stand this laundry
being on the field as much as it has. So
this is where Carolina is right now because on the
intentional grounding, they're saying it's third down. Okay, that one
doesn't okay, so it's third down. I'm not gonna correct myself,

(01:38:00):
but it's third down now for Carolina in this scenario
here and a deep pass is incomplete. But guess what
Carrie flag on their life the Carry Roads show the
rest of the show.

Speaker 2 (01:38:12):
So Dan's going guys, So now, yeah, it's twenty seven,
twenty two, and you know the Cardinals have put themselves
in a crazy predicament. It's all sides on them as well.
It's on Arizona on Arizona. So I'll give him more
life to Carolina here because it doesn't look like Carolina
can protect Bryce Young.

Speaker 3 (01:38:27):
So he's really just running around. Just just ope in here.

Speaker 1 (01:38:31):
And now there may be there may be a turnover
in Kansas City. No is the Eagles were running the
clock they had. They just had a third and one
where they converted on the first down, and no, there
is no funnel. The Chiefs defense is still out on
the field. But a first and ten unless it's going
to be reviewed by the booth or the Eagles are

(01:38:53):
actually taking their final time out back to Arizona where
it's a third and fifteen for Carolina and incomplete pass,
but they converted a fourth down earlier, and as you said,
a penalty. We are jumping back and forth. It looks
like the Eagles are about to win the game where
they would just be able to take a knee for

(01:39:13):
the rest of the contest.

Speaker 3 (01:39:15):
We told you.

Speaker 1 (01:39:15):
The Colts won against the Broncos twenty nine to twenty eight,
where a sixty yard field goal was missed, but a
leverage penalty was called against Denver, allowing the Colts to
kick another field goal to win it. That was from
forty five yards out. Spencer Strader made the kick and
the Colts left nine twenty eight victors. Now, the Cardinals
lead twenty seven to twenty two against the Panthers, fourth
and fifteen from the Arizona thirty eight yard line with

(01:39:38):
thirty three seconds left to go, and Bryce Young was
wrapped up. I'm gonna wait because I want to see
the flag graphic pop up just one more time on
the screen, and.

Speaker 3 (01:39:47):
It's Kalis Campbell.

Speaker 2 (01:39:48):
Dan My whole teammate, the thirty nine year old veteran
with the sack that end the game.

Speaker 1 (01:39:53):
How sweet is that? My goodness, that's crazy. The con
the usion earlier was the the Bryce Young play on
the intentional grounding. Yes, was on first down and not
second down, so they lost the down which went to second.
I knew they lost a down on that play. However,

(01:40:14):
the pass happened on first down. All right, So there,
I think we're about good.

Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
On all of this.

Speaker 1 (01:40:23):
Yes, the Panthers fall short in their comeback of the
Cardinals twenty seven to twenty two. The Chiefs are going
to fall short in their Super Bowl rematch with the
Eagles twenty to seventeen, And the Broncos fell short in
their game against the Colts Indies two and oh with
that twenty nine, twenty eighth victory.

Speaker 3 (01:40:42):
All right, he is Carry Rhodes. I'm Dan Beyer. Games
are done.

Speaker 1 (01:40:46):
Carry's going to break down a big play from our contest,
or from our contest earlier in the day. Tell you
how it happened in fast time with Carry Rhods plus

We're scheduled today and obviously Thursday in the NFL season.

(01:41:08):
Monzi Blangio will be with us in about sixty seconds
to give us all the scores and so much more.

Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
He is Carrie Rhoads. I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 1 (01:41:15):

(01:41:36):
You'll also hear me correctly predict a touchdown pass from
Kyler Murray to Michael Wilson moments before it happened. That's right,
just one of the few things, very few things that
happened right for me in the Lake Window and what
was a crazy, crazy week two in the NFL. I
don't know if the outcomes were shocking, but how we

(01:41:58):
got to those outcomes was pretty so.

Speaker 2 (01:42:00):
Yeah, I think the only one that would be considered
shocking to the masses probably as the Broncos one.

Speaker 3 (01:42:05):
Yeah, the Colts.

Speaker 2 (01:42:06):
But I mean other than that, I mean, you expected
the Cardinals to come out and find a way to
win this one, and I think a lot of people
thought the Eagles would win that one as well, even
though you know, you never know in Kansas City. But yeah,
other than that, it's been status quo, Dan, outside of
all the flag, all the laundry on the field.

Speaker 1 (01:42:23):
For the details on week two, let's go to the
news desk Monci Bolanos keeping us up to dated in
advance of then what's going down tonight?

Speaker 3 (01:42:30):
Betune the Vikings and Falcons. What's going on? MANSI?

Speaker 10 (01:42:32):
So apparently there was what broadcasters thought was laundry during
the Bengals game, and it was a not suitable for
work item that has been been thrown around at WNDA
talking about it. Yeah, so they thought it was laundry
while it was happening, and then they realized, oh, that's
not that's not a flag, that's something else that's green.

Speaker 8 (01:42:52):
Interesting.

Speaker 1 (01:42:56):
Okay, all right, you said we'll just move on move
on the yellow ones though, like, why would you think
it would be anything?

Speaker 8 (01:43:06):
But and I agree, I agree, but they I think,
you know, in the moment, you're just like, what is that?

Speaker 3 (01:43:10):
I think that's going to be the new challenge flag
next year? Yes, yeah, it should be.

Speaker 6 (01:43:16):
Yes.

Speaker 10 (01:43:18):
Well, in that game, Bengals came back to defeat the
Jaguars thirty one to twenty seven. No Joe Burrow for
most of the game, left within left toe injury, is
supposed to have more testing done, but Jake Browning came
in and saved the day with three interceptions in all,
two hundred and forty one yards, two touchdowns and rushing touchdown.
Bengals again win it thirty one to twenty seven. These

(01:43:38):
three games that we just witnessed who the Colts walked
it off against the Broncos a forty five yard field
goal from Spencer Schrader. They edged Denver twenty nine to
twenty eight. Daniel Jones twenty three of thirty four three
hundred and sixteen yards one touchdown that went to Jonathan Taylor,
who also had twenty five carries for one hundred and
sixty five yards. The Eagles held on twenty to seventeen

(01:43:59):
against the Chiefs. Jalen Hurts fifteen of twenty two one
hundred and one yards plus seven carries for seventeen yards
and a rushing touchdown. Patrick Mahomes has lost three consecutive
games for the first time in his NFL career, dating
back to you know last Super Bowls you guys have
been talking about. M Kansas City begins the season oh
and two for the first time since twenty fourteen. Mahomes
ended sixteen of twenty nine one hundred and eighty seven yards,

(01:44:22):
one touchdown, one interception right off the hands of Travis
Kelce plus seven carries for sixty six yards on a
rushing touchdown.

Speaker 8 (01:44:28):
The Cardinals survived, survived twenty seven to twenty two against
the Panthers. Cardinals like to do this. You guys like
the Cardinals like it.

Speaker 3 (01:44:38):
I like them as a team. Yes, I think they'll
make the playoffs.

Speaker 10 (01:44:40):
And I just feel like I've seen this before that
they are leading the game and then they let it
go at the end and they either survive sometimes and
not and it just looks not great.

Speaker 8 (01:44:52):
Kyler Young seventeen of twenty five. Kyler Murray, you guys
got that. Kyler Young. You know what I'm talking about.
Kyler Murray, Ambryce.

Speaker 10 (01:44:58):
Kyler Murray seventeen of twenty five two hundred and twenty yards,
a touchdown, interception, Bryce Young thirty five of fifty five
three hundred and twenty eight yards, three touchdowns, one interception
in that one. Earlier today, Jared Gobb threw for five
touchdown passes as the Lions crushed the Bears fifty two
to twenty one. Cowboys also walked it off on their
own with the forty six yard field goal from Brandon

(01:45:20):
Aubrey to beat the Giants forty to thirty seven in overtime.
Brandon Aubrey also hit a sixty four yard field goal
to send the game into overtime. Patriots hold on thirty
three to twenty seven over the Dolphins. Bills outscored the
Jets thirty to ten. Josh Allen with the bloody nose
and did fourteen of twenty five one hundred and forty
eight yards.

Speaker 8 (01:45:38):
He also had six carries for.

Speaker 10 (01:45:39):
Fifty nine yards, but it was James Cook who had
twenty one carries one hundred and thirty two yards and
two touchdowns. Lamar Jackson threw for four touchdown passes as
the Ravens top the Browns forty one to seventeen. Seahawks
defeated the Steelers thirty one to seventeen. Rams took down
the Titans thirty three to nineteen, and the forty nine Ers.

Speaker 8 (01:45:56):
They beat the Saints twenty six to twenty one. Mac
Jones in for brock Per, who's injured.

Speaker 10 (01:46:00):
Twenty six of thirty nine, two hundred and seventy nine
yards and three touchdowns for mac Jones. In baseball, the
Mariners have won nine in a row. They now have
sole possession of the AL West.

Speaker 8 (01:46:11):
Also, cal Rawly hit.

Speaker 10 (01:46:12):
His fifty fourth home run yes by a half a
game over Houston. So in the AL, the Rangers lost
and the Guardians won. Texas is two games back of
Houston right now for the final waldcard spot in the AL,
Cleveland is two and a half games back. The Giants
just lost to the Dodgers, Reds lost to the A's,
and the Mets were the ones who beat the Rangers.
So the Diamondbacks also beat the Twins. So in the
National League, San Francisco is one and a half games

(01:46:35):
back of the Mets. Arizona's two games back. Cincinnati now
falls to two and a half games back, they were
a lot closer just a couple of days ago WNBA Playoffs.
In overtime, the Liberty beat the Mercury seventy six to
sixty nine. Dream Over the Fever eighty to sixty eight.
Links defeated the Valkyries one oh one to seventy two. And,
in case you missed it, out of college football, UCLA

(01:46:55):
fired head coach Deshaun Foster and Virginia Tech also fired
head coach Brent Pry.

Speaker 3 (01:47:01):
Dream Over the Fever sounds like a new young band.

Speaker 8 (01:47:03):
You dream Over the Fever dream It is good.

Speaker 3 (01:47:07):
I'm thinking about switching now, Dan, I appreciate that. I
like that on a lot.

Speaker 8 (01:47:10):
Taylor Swift is already probably coining that.

Speaker 3 (01:47:14):
Great job. Manzi. By the way, enjoy Florida.

Speaker 8 (01:47:18):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:47:19):
I'll just leave it at that follow on social media.
Manzi is going to get a well deserved vacation, so
so go and have some fun.

Speaker 3 (01:47:29):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:47:30):
I'm not going to say specifically where she's going because
I don't want people to hounder for autographs.

Speaker 3 (01:47:35):
And pictures in the whole deal, but I'll do it.
I'm gonna shot to show up. No I'm not gonna
I'm not your house, let alone.

Speaker 8 (01:47:42):
I'm gonna expect you to see you in Florida.

Speaker 3 (01:47:45):
Yeah, she's on a plane tonight. And then the sunshine
stayed tomorrow. Right, all right, Thanks Monty, Thanks guys, talk
to you next week. In week three, here's carry oats.
I'm Dan Bayer. You got something for you, Dan.

Speaker 2 (01:47:57):
So before we get too fast times, I think in
my mind, I think there's gonna be a year of parody, right.
I think it's gonna be a lot of teams like
buying for spots. It's gonna come down to the wire down,
you know, down in the season. Right, So you have
these games where you let games slip away and you
think they're not big, but they end up being big
at the end. But right now, we have eight teams

(01:48:18):
that are two and oh. That's pretty low, okay. And
so out of those eight teams that are undefeated right
now in two and oh, at this point, who's your
biggest surprise at the moment, I'll read the name to
you so you know, right, and so you don't have
to guess. But you got the Rams, we got the Bengals,
we got the Bills, the forty nine Ers, the Colts,
car and knows Eagles and Packers right now.

Speaker 1 (01:48:40):
Out of that bunch, I think the Colts definitely, guys.
I think there are some that thought maybe this team
would be looking for a quarterback in the next draft.
Not having faith in Daniel Jones, they turned it over
to Anthony Richardson. Now they had two home games, but
beating Denver today is quite the accomplishment the other one, honestly,
and especially how today played out. The Bengals have that's

(01:49:01):
most recent history, have been historically slow starters. They weren't
fast out of the gate last week against Cleveland and
still needed a last second touchdown today to beat Jacksonville.
But to do it without Joe Burrow. If you would
have told me that, I would have said, no way.
They were two and zero.

Speaker 3 (01:49:16):
Yeah, that's mine as well. Bengals.

Speaker 2 (01:49:17):
I mean, the Colts is definitely a surprise, obviously, but
the Bengals they always historically start up slow and then you,
like I said, Burrow goes down and they were down
in this game and found the way to win.

Speaker 1 (01:49:27):
You mentioned the Rams being two and zero, Montzi just
told you they got to win today against the Tennessee Titans.
By the way, the score of that game maybe not
indicative of how close the game actually was for a while.
That leads just two fast times with Kerry rhads.

Speaker 4 (01:49:42):
Kay huge.

Speaker 5 (01:49:45):
Fast times with Carrie Roads.

Speaker 3 (01:49:47):
We totally end was thirty three to nineteen.

Speaker 1 (01:49:49):
But at one point the Rams were up twenty to
sixteen on the Titans, with nine to forty five left
to go in the game. Facing a third and five
from the Titans sixteen yard line, big blitz coming Stafford.

Speaker 14 (01:50:02):
He's from his heels, pitch Davonte Hitch a touchdown back
right pylon Adams first as a Ram touchdown alley.

Speaker 3 (01:50:13):
That kind of kept the Titans at distance.

Speaker 1 (01:50:14):
On the Rams radio network carry, how did it break
down in Nashville, Well.

Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
Stafford sent a shotgun. They come out in eleven personnel.
They actually motion over Poka Nakua to see what covers
the Titans.

Speaker 1 (01:50:27):
We're in.

Speaker 2 (01:50:28):
He motions over, the defender goes with him, so he
knows man. So what does Stafford do? He does what
he does best.

Speaker 5 (01:50:34):
He goes.

Speaker 2 (01:50:35):
He picks out a matchup that he likes, goes one
on one with Davante Adams, and he takes a shot
there on the double move by Davante Adams for a
big touchdown to give the ram some breathing room here
and actually put the game away at that point. The
Titans never got closer than four at that moment, So
big play.

Speaker 1 (01:50:52):
A couple of questions here from my amateur eye on
a third and five where you're in a four point game, yep,
and man seems to be risky to me because that
kind of brings in the ultimate play of the touchdown
where you're surprised the Titans were in man.

Speaker 3 (01:51:08):
Definitely surprised.

Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
I think a lot of times you want to go
with the best play that you have, and so I
don't know if that's they're really confident in their man
and man coverage and like to put pressure.

Speaker 3 (01:51:17):
If that's their game plan, do it.

Speaker 2 (01:51:18):
But a lot of times when you get in the
red zone, you want to have numbers you want to make,
You want to make the quarterback make a tough read
in those moments. And so to give a quarterback like
Stafford the answer to the test early a mistake in
my opinion.

Speaker 1 (01:51:34):
And then obviously Puka Akua is a big target of his. Yes,
Nicole is running a crossing route in that situation is
Stafford looking for Adams. Is he looking for Puka? Who's
he looking for in that third and five? Well, definitely,
in a man of man situation, one on one, you're
gonna go. You wanna look to the outside and see
if you'd have an advantage first. Again, he liked that
matchup DeVante Adams against anybody, even though that's a really

(01:51:56):
good corner in Snead still gonna take that match up
most of the time. But with the design of that route,
you know Demante was going to go deep and clear
it out regardless, and Pooka was coming to cross because
he's he was in a reduced split. So good design.
Stafford took the DeVante Adams route and it worked out
for them. There was a defender over the slot. He
rushes Stafford and immediately knows that Adams is one on

(01:52:18):
one because then the safety has to get you know,
the slot guy.

Speaker 2 (01:52:21):
Another good point, Dan, whenever you a quarterback, the young quarterback,
and you're looking at guys that are tipping their coverads.
If you see a guy close on the line of
scrimbs and you see somebody behind him, there's probably a
width coming off off that end and off that edd.
So Matthews saw it also with the motion, declared it
one on one right away and made the play at

(01:52:42):
DeVante Adams Wort's that's sound.

Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
Great stuff for Kerry Rhodes. I learn as we do
this stuff, so we hope you do as well. Hit
him up at Carrie twenty five Roads. You can find
me at Dan Byer on Fox Falcons Vikings tonight. But
Mazie isn't the only one here that's going to be
out of town this week. I'm going on my own
journey right I'll tell you about that, plus our week
two MVPs. He's Carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. It's all

(01:53:04):
next year on End Zone Rail here, End Zone Radio,
Fox Sports Radio. He's the all pro Kerry Rhoads, I'm
Dan Byer. That's it for week two for us. You
got Vikings Falcons tonight, then you got a doubleheader tomorrow
Buccaneers and Texans, Chargers and Raiders. Then you look ahead

(01:53:27):
past that to week three starts Thursday night with the
Dolphins and Bills in Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (01:53:33):
Carry Roads.

Speaker 1 (01:53:34):
I'm gonna be there, woo. Yes, Monze Blanio is not
the only one getting out of town. Myself and Jason Stewart,
the executive producer of The Doug Gottlieb Show. Jason's got
family in the upstate New York area, Syracuse area. They're
going to come over to Buffalo visit with him. He
and I are going to the Bills game because I
wanted to see high Mark Stadium, Rich Stadium, Ralph Wilson Stadium,

(01:53:58):
whatever you wanted to call it. Yeah, final year their
new stadium. You could see it in the background and
some of their you know, aerial shots. Gonna be a
magnificent facility. But there's something about that stadium. I've always
wanted to go to a game there because it looked
anything but like an NFL stadium. You played in that
stadium quite a bit, and so I'm just I'm curious

(01:54:20):
to see a game there will be there Thursday night
for Dolphins and Bills.

Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
Well, you're going at the right time obviously, September, yes,
not December. If you if you were going in even
late October, you would be in for a rout awakening.
It gets cold up there, but passionate fan base, you're
going to really enjoy it. It's a fun place to
play in. I mean, obviously as a player there are
windy conditions and things that happen for us, but definitely

(01:54:44):
a historic place.

Speaker 3 (01:54:45):
And we're get to see the league's MVP.

Speaker 1 (01:54:47):

Twenty eight Colts Radio Network, the most valuable players, everybody.

Speaker 5 (01:58:16):
This is Fox Football Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:58:19):
So this is the reality. The Kansas City Chiefs are
zero to two. That's right.

Speaker 1 (01:58:23):
I don't think that there's anything to be embarrassed about
and losing to the Eagles and losing to the Chargers.
But you pointed something out earlier in the show with
this team, these are games that they would win last
season right now in twenty twenty five, they haven't won
those games.

Speaker 2 (01:58:39):
It's just about to say that the margin for error
for them the last couple of years has been really small,
razor thin. They found the way to win last year,
different year this year, and they came out and played
two really good teams, two playoff teams, two teams that's
going to have a lot of success this year.

Speaker 3 (01:58:55):
So oh and two Chiefs. Some dissension in the air
looks like too.

Speaker 1 (01:58:59):
They've got the Ravens coming up in Week four, but
in Week three road game against the Giants on Monday
Night football. Actually no, it's Sunday Night Football. Sunn Night football.
So a week from tonight it'll be the Chiefs and
Giants with that division, and tomorrow night we're gonna see
Chargers Raiders. I'm curious to see on how that matchup
shakes down, especially because of the effort that the Raiders

(01:59:20):
gave against the Patriots. Things are getting interesting. The Chiefs
just aren't gonna have that much more room for air
with thiszo and two start after tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:59:29):
We can add one more team to that too, and
no field as well, so we'll see what happens with
the Raiders and the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (01:59:35):
Huge TITP of the Captain Ricky Herrera who put together
our week two MVPs like he always does. Great job, Ricky,
and great job carry on the single. Good luck with
that much or wherever you get your music for carry Roads.
I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 3 (01:59:47):
This is end Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio.
