Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Well, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning, happy
happy October. Yes, this is uh the best month, I
think the best month going in sports. It is MLB playoffs,
which have been awesome so far and they're only going
to get better. They are today we begin the division
(00:26):
series and it's gonna be fantastic. And we got college
football and in the NFL, we gotta talk about the
Rams going down. All kinds of great stuff happening this month.
Later hockey and basketball begin, So cannot wait to just
dive into it.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
I wanted to go slow.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
I don't want to fast forward at Jeff Schwartz Anthony gargantto,
we are the fellas right here on Fox Sports Radio. Uh,
the monster day today with the four playoff games and
a big slate of college football.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
But first let me give you your flowers. Oregon. Congratulations, mister duck.
I was.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
I was looking up to some menus in Philly and
see where the best place I got in there is.
So you know I love food, I mean shocking results
talking thing to say on air, and uh, my brother
and I did a food show. It actually not gonna
see the light of day. But we did. We filmed
(01:23):
seven episodes and we filmed two of them in Philly
two springs ago. So I have I've dealt with. Yeah,
So the basic go So basically the point here's the
point of the Food Show was we did two basically
two types of shows. We did the first six episodes
this way where it was a show where there's a
local food like a Philly cheese steak, right, and we're
(01:46):
trying to find two up and coming restaurants to compete
in like a tailgate style competition, and then the three
judges would be like it ended up being like Pats
at Angelo's, like three like of the staples of the community.
So we did we did the first one was Kansas
City Brisket. We did Baltimore crab case, we did Maine Lobster,
We did New Orleans begnets, and we went back and
(02:08):
did gumbo and then Philly we did cheese steaks. The
first episode we actually had a vegan cheese steak competitor
and she actually won. Uh it was it was actually
and what's funny is so again this is a couple
of years ago, one of the patron Angelo's whoever, like
(02:29):
the chef was one of the best. Okay, whoever the chef,
the owner chef was actually chose like the vegan one.
He like it was, it was, it was good, whatever,
it didn't matter. Then we did that. We did in Philly,
went to Chinatown. I didn't know it at the time.
Chinatown is second largest chinatown in the country behind Sancisco.
(02:50):
And we did Chinese noodles and noodles and Newilan dumplings
from scratch and did you do the shop dumplings?
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:04):
So I made stop dumplings from scratch from the competition
and this noodle dish that was like incredible. It was
so much fun. It was a husband and wife. Husband
owned one restaurant, the wife owned the other, and they
were competing against each other. And the wife restaurant which
one I I was competing with. We both had like
the grandmothers helping us as well, who like started but
(03:27):
my my grandmother spoke zero English, so it was it
was very fun to learn how to communicate with someone
who didn't speakin any English. When I say zero, I
mean absolutely not looking of English. And her trying to
teach me how to make food and not to communicate
without being able to talk and uh, it was so
much fun. And then the show basically got canceled because
(03:48):
it was network. No, it never came out. I was
on was supposed to be an A and E. We filmed seven.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Would be it's a great concept.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
We filmed seven episodes and then got canceled. They paid
us for us out at least. But a long story short,
but I've had so I've eaten the Philly food scene
is my point. I've eat the Philly foodsne I'm not
done tiny food there, but I've had the cheese steaks,
I've had the the Chinese food. Now, so I expect
a good meal. Maybe you get Bill James Franklin for
I feel he owes he should should be on him.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Oh my god. First of all, we'll put to bed
this game and then move on. But but still, and
you and I were texting during the game, and listen,
I thought Oregon dominated like they should have been.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
We played better than the final score.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
And yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I told you that, right.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
And when it was three to three, I said, Oregon's
winning this game.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
They're winning this game. Now Penstate comes back.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
What in the world is alor why you can't throw
that ball? It's first down. Yeah, it's triple coverage. You
can't throw the ball. So I mean a lot of
things obviously. So the think about the Organ Penn State
game very quickly, as you mentioned we'll wrap it up
aheaded next week ahead of this week, is that I
(05:06):
don't think there was one thing that James Bunnan did
wrong in this game, right, Like, there wasn't a moment
where like, oh, Frank I messed that up.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
I think the punt. He had one punt that was
kind of a you know, I think a in hindsight,
you probably don't want to punt the ball the thirty
eight whatever it was. But the mistake, it seems like
the mistake was choosing Aler over Permula, who went to
Missouri and is doing well, because Aler just is a
little bit limited to what he can do and I'm
not sure the offense really matches his skill set. I
(05:37):
also think like he's just also just not as explosive
as a player as they think he is. If that,
I think that makes a little bit of sense to
what I'm saying, Like he's a he's fine, but like
he got tackled on a bootleg by a two hundred
and seventy five pounds defensive end to track them down.
(05:58):
Like it's like and that look that last throw.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
He should be a better He looks like a better
athlete than he is. But he does have a great Listen,
you show those two throws. The one was ridiculous, Like
that's what that's what people see in them.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah, but that's the great tease, Like it's a tease.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
So the the issue, so the three you're talking about
was a was a touchdown throw the first one right, Yeah,
into like when when aler is able to that's a
that's a very like package play right. It's almost like
it's a one read follow ball out there, like I,
you and I could make that throw. It wasn't like
(06:40):
guys now has trouble with though, which are the ones
when guys run away from him? He's very good when
guys come back to him, like you know, ins.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Curls and he's got he's got a strong arm. He
can make everything.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
He can make the you you were correct and that
he has an issue with touch. Yes it touch throws
is where is an issue? And that's exactly what what
throw it was on the interception.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
Yeah, and the thing that I look as an organ guy.
The thing that I think that got to me most
excited about this game was the poise we played with
was unbelievable. I mean that that is a that's a
loud place to play. And I had actually a friend,
a really good friend, who was there. He was texting
me during the game. Was he's a media member that
was sitting in the crowd. But he got the he
(07:28):
he got the press box WiFi somehow, so he was
he was texting me like during the game. Was kind
of fun. And you know what everyone says, it's sort
of this saying, I talked to someone that hat that
department too, Like the it's not it's not like overly
loud per se, but it's just like so many people
dressed in white, you know, in the stadium is so big,
(07:50):
and it's just this sea of of just a wall
of of you know, everyone in white screaming for Penn State. Right,
and dude, we had two fall starts. None of them
are on the offensive line. Our quarterback through the one
interception on the two point of version is great play
by great defensive call. He kind of that defensive end
sort of pop back out, didn't see him. Otherwise played
(08:11):
a flawless game, and dude, we are young men, are
leading a receiver and are leading running back in this game.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
We're true freshmen. Like we we are a young team,
are young.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
And we're gonna be I think we're going to be
better in Week twelve and We're in this game. And
so that's what I'm excited about. So look, man, it
was it's I love Dan Lanning.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Man.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I don't know if you got to watch him with
that video you put out.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I did.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
I love him too, Like he's impossible not to love. Yeah,
and he's a football dude. Man.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
I was texting with him earlier this week orchitect coach
and they're off this week, which is nice because like emotionally,
I couldn't know if I could imagine watching their game
after last week, like I need to recover and we're
off this week, and I was like yeah, I asked
him like are you like are you are you gonna
get off? Essentially your coach is nuts. And they even
off with off because yeah, I get her one Saturday
(09:03):
off and I said, I asked him like, are you
a watch football guy?
Speaker 3 (09:06):
On? On?
Speaker 4 (09:07):
Off?
Speaker 3 (09:07):
There?
Speaker 4 (09:08):
You gonna like do a family guy? He's like buddy,
I'm up at six am. I'm gonna have a few
Coronas and watch ball all day.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Like he's just like I love him, dude. He just
wants to watch.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Ball, just wants to watch ball. So you know, I'm
excited for that way.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
I gotta tell you, I loved him, like during the
he was so fired up when they won, Like yeah,
I love the interview on the field like he was.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
He's awesome. I'm with you, dude.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
So what do you do about James Franklin? It has
anything to do if you're a Penn State guy.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, I mean, this is it. I mean you know,
really you think so well, this is it?
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Like you got one, you got a love shot at
Ohio State and then you got the playoffs, right, so
I think you gotta I think you gotta look at
how they respond this year, Like you know, I mean,
we're going through the same thing Indiana at home making
it be easy either right, right? You got Nebrasket, like
(10:08):
you know, you got some games.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Yeah, we're a different ways with Nebraska me and you.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
But I well, I listen, I understand you're I you know,
I mean, obviously I do the show with Matt Ruhles.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
So, oh, I know, I know, I'm I'm.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Got you know, my boy, So you know I went
over I went to overrate him a little bit.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
You know, It's okay. No, Look, I have Nebraska. I
bet on them to be a playoff team. So it's
not like I don't have any skin in the game Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
So I recognize that defensively, they couldn't stop Michigan, right,
they don't have enough defensively.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Today's interesting as well. I actually was watching Michigan last
night against Nebraska because we're I do the Joe Moore Award,
which is the uh, you know, offensive line. We vote
on the best offense line of the country. Right, It's
a fantastic award, And I was watching Michigan because we
have to valuate for Midsea's honor. Roll. Actually do think
Michigan's offense play great against Nebraska. They had a misfit
(11:03):
Nebraska had on a long touchdown run by the safety,
and then I don't understand why nobody decided to spy
Brice Underwood. I sure, just let me just let them
run down the middle of field. It wasn't as bad
as This is the important part about watching film, just
in general, guys like I have access to it. Very fortunate.
You know, a lot of our points you make about
teams don't require film to be watched.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
But you know, the eye in.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
The sky, you know they're saying that with the iron
sky never lies, like it is a much different view
of a game when you get to actually see it
on the film, and so you know, it does change
your opinions sometimes on teams. I thought Nebraka defense was
was better than you know. They had a couple of
mistakes in that game, but it wasn't as bad as
I thought.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Also, but they lack playmakers on that side of the bowl.
They don't force enough turnovers. They just need They need
a couple of big time players on that side of
the ball.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
So are you are you quarterback?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (11:56):
I love Riola? What's that?
Speaker 4 (11:58):
Are you in them against Michigan State today? What I
mean is a braining agree with us? Yeah, he likes
Nebraska today. He's not joining us. He's in Vegas. Oh,
just slacker, just taking the weekend. So he uh, he
gave me his picks for you. Okay, Jeff Deeds his picks.
I said, Uh, you're gonna go ahead to head so oh,
(12:19):
he was very right last week on the NFL and
I was wrong. Yeah, he's pretty sharp NFL weekends here.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Dude, how about the rams the other night? Are you
kidding me?
Speaker 2 (12:30):
You know a lot of people had uh had the
rams in the Survivor pool.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Oh yeah, and wow, I can't for.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Well, Matt Jones was playing like he was playing in Alabama.
He was fantastic. I mean, and he's banged up, right,
he sees dying, Yeah, and he's just getting pounded.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
And man, he played what a game he played.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Got blested, He played fantastic and then you know he
had the fun both the goal line. You had to
I mean you to the other fumble in the first half,
I mean, my god, and in fourth to one.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I love McVeigh so I love him and shot it's
just brilliant. He's just a brilliant dude. But I I man,
I get what he was trying to do. But you
got Stafford. Put the ball in Stafford's hands.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
I love the aggressive this to go for it there.
I think the play call right. Look, that is a
a formation that is often used to run that play,
and it's it's basically called it's a play called duo.
You build the double teams and try to just you know,
work your way vertically up the field. And it's a
(13:45):
play that is very common the NFL. And you do
that a bunch, you do that a wing, you do
that at a slot and and you end up, you know,
you end up uh motioning a guy in to block
the safety off. And that's what I mean. It was
exactly what how you run that play. It's what you do.
And the Rams did a good job. I mean, the
Niners a good job of reducing the front down to
basically goal line, got penetration. You had a tight end
(14:09):
having to basically trap block Fred Warner. It was it
was a bat and your point, Stafford was playing, well,
I'm living and dying by my quarterback, I am, and
they didn't get to Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
I mean, you got great receivers that could just beat
off the line of screamage correct the guy.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
So you know you had I think you had better
options to your point about what to do there. But
I'll tell you what, ma'am. This game to me was
two things. One it was it was the NFL. Right, yes,
you have you have a beat up team in the
forty nine ers that still has some really good football
players that's prideful that hears about how they're beat up
(14:45):
and they're hurt and they're not going to do anything,
and they come out and start smoking the Rams early,
and the Rams, I would imagine, Look, we are humans
who played. We hear things too, and you hear like
diners beat up, and like, well, you just hear like
all these things about how you're gonna win that game easily.
And the Rams fought back and obviously turnovers mattered and
big plays were made, but more than anything else too,
(15:08):
like last season for the in the gambling space, I
know this matter. I know some people don't like it,
but this actually doesn't matter last year in the gambling space,
So basically, there's two types of wagers. Okay, there's like
we call the sharp wager, right, which is what they're
professionals who only only they do is gamble on sports
and they put six figures on every game or close
(15:29):
to high five figures. And those are the people that
essentially you want to be on the side of it's
their job to get this stuff right, right, and they're
considered the sharp group, right, and they bet on things
a certain way. And there's a public right. The public is,
oh my god, the Niners are injured. I'm betting on
the Rams, okay, and that number blewed gouts like eight
and a half nine. Right, rams are for everybody but
(15:51):
over a touchdown in a division game on a Thursday night.
And that is called co like the square play, right,
And I looked to me for I tease the Rams.
I was on this play too. Doesn't mean you always
you always put the sharp play. It is what it is.
Last season, those public plays, the rams one an an
ornamate rate at a high rate, abnormal rate, I should say.
(16:14):
And this year it has come crashing down, Buddy, back
again to the sharp. Guys are winning all these NFL
every week. The public plays of the week are getting
freaking smashed.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
And that's what There was the Buffalo game.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
I mean.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
The Packers last week. Everyone everyone's on the Packers and
and that was a tie, you know, a couple of
weeks ago the Packers again against the Browns, everyone's on.
Like these public sides have been have been just destroyed.
I think I think Ben MGM puts out you know, uh,
the the highest number of bets essentially the tickets and
(16:53):
uh for for four weeks. I think it's like they
put up the top five. I think the two or
three times has that side covered so far this season?
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Oh my god? Really yeah wow wow.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
So it's so it's turned so that this is what
it's become now because so that's the But that's the
NFL though, right. The NFL is a sport where every
game is close. You know, you have games where you
think it's gonna go a certain way and it doesn't.
Because they're professionals. They have pride and and they play hard,
and it's what makes it very unique and fun sport.
(17:26):
And I think Thursday night was just a prime example
of the NFL just being the NFL.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, dude, you're you're spot all with this, like they
the league. It's just bizarre. It's such a fine line
between four and oh and oh and four.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
I mean, it's the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
The Eagles could easily be one and three, right and
they be completed pass in the second half last week,
But they're four and oh and they've won twenty last
twenty one games.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
It's it's the he's wild then of completed pass last
week in the fourth quarter in.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
The second and half, the hurts was oh, for six,
oh the entire half.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
I mean, I was on Tampa. I was hoping that
they would come back and cover, but I was I
didn't realize it was like that.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Yeah, they were, they were. They had five three and
ounce and uh and Hurts was oh for six in
the second half. But they went you win, you know,
I mean they got a gift turnover, so that was
that was part of it.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
But that's the NFL, buddy, So the Niners and the
Rams and olden Niners recently as well. And look at you.
You take one game off, you take one playoff, you
take one quarter off, and you lose. And that's the
margin of error in this league. And you know, Karen
Williams had a pretty bad fumble there, right, it looked
like there was there survived. You know, they're gonna win
that game. They probably they probably go up and win
(18:52):
twenty seven to twenty and that's the end of it.
But you know, Mac Jones was cramped et eleven bananas,
which is weird as could be because the banana doesn't
help you stop cramping in the moment, like taking an
ivy or something.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
The ival work. The bananas aren't going to work that quickly.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
No, that was so funny. I think they said he
had eleven bananas. Yeah, which is insane behavior. But look, man,
good for the Niners, good win for them. I still
like the Ramson Division. But that's a good example of
the NFL being a very unique sport where you know,
(19:33):
in the NBA, if you're missing all those starters or
all those big players, you're probably not playing to that level.
You probably just keep you catch it for the night, right, Like,
that's just kind of what it is. It don't worked
away the NFL, man, it just doesn't.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
No, it's it's sure it does. Well.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Well, you're gonna kind of keep going through it. Uh,
coming up, I gotta get to MLB playoffs. That'll be
next hour. We're gonna dive deep into the MLB playoffs.
Go into that. What's that going today? No, I'll go
on Monday. Phillies Dodgers. Yeah, I'm gonna go Monday. We
have a football game today. Okay, So I'm gonna I
(20:12):
think the world serious champion is gonna come from the series.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Yeah, I think I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
I think you know the only the only other team
that I really like is Seattle correct, because.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
They do the two things you have to do to win, ye,
pitch hit home runs.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Yeah, that lineup like they made a couple couple moves
down the stretch that I love that obviously Suarez, uh
is the more and and and Naylor, Yeah getting it.
You got a lefty to kind of plug in between
Julio and Suarez. You know, their lineup is perfectly balanced,
(20:50):
and it's it's it's good that Seattle team is good.
All right, lots to get to. We'll stay with the NFL.
We're gonna dive into college today as always, and.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Of course you're MLB.
Speaker 2 (21:02):

Speaker 2 (21:53):
It is Muddy Mark. He took care of that thing
where the fell is. Jeff Schwartz Anthony Garganto are fine
product team of Muddy Mark and the great Brianna, so
we appreciate them. All Right, let's go through some of
the games tomorrow. We'll circle back to MLB and then
(22:15):
at college football a little bit later on. But it's
a BIS each time of the year, the best time
of the year. October tomorrow morning. Back to London, from
Dublin to London. The Vikings are staying there. It's the
Vikings and the Browns, Browns, Dylan Gabriel. This whole league
(22:39):
is upside down with injuries and new starting quarterbacks like
Jackson Dart and now Dylan Gabriel.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
Jeff, Yeah, look, the Browns had to make this decision.
The Flacco thing was done. It was running its course.
It was the course was off track, it was off kilter.
It was time to something else. I'm not sure Gabriel
is even ready to be a good start in the NFL,
but he's not Joe Flacco, and they realize that, and
you start losing the locker room of the offense, and
(23:09):
really you start losing the defense. Right how good that
unit is if you can't put out any competent quarterback play.
So I understand why they went to Gabriel, first quarterback
to ever make his first start in the International series.
They play the Vikings, who we know very good defense,
especially now they have Carson Wentz to play. They also
have like a super beat up offensive line. They're out
(23:31):
there right tackle, They're out there multiple centers like it is.
It's tough sligh for them right now. If I had
to ask you what Dylan Gabriel first NFL start, Browns
offense Vikings defense on the road essentially, what was his
over under for passing yards set at one?
Speaker 3 (23:52):
I'll give you one eighty four.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
It was a one a two, which is super high
for the situation Jackson Dart on the road in New York,
New Orleans. It's one seventy two, and he threw one
hundred and eleven yards last weekend. I was kind of
shocked to see this number as high as it was.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
I'm just, I.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
Just I don't think it was a score in this game. Again,
the injuries on the Vikings offensive line, I don't Gabriel's
gonna be fine. He's just not gonna be I think
very dynamic, which again, like that's a better better than Flacco, right,
but still not that dynamic. And so I'm looking forward
to watching Gabriel. Eighty yards is a lot of yards, man,
(24:35):
it's not. But it's also.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Especially like you're gonna do a lot of checkdowns. He's
gonna go to the tight ends.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Well, the Vikings know this as well, like they they
think so I'm curious to see how this goes. I
think it could be rough game for both sides.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
But look, I will say this, m I saw him
in the preseason. He was here, they joined practices. I mean,
you look decent. Well, I mean you could throw the ball.
He's gonna be fine.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
I think he's gonna be a Chase Daniel play in
the NFL for fifteen years. Yes, I think that's a
great comp I can see that he's a good teammate.
He's very bright, He's not gonna do the wrong thing.
He might not do like, he's never gonna make you
look bad as a coach. He might not look he
might not make you look great, but he's not gonna
make you look bad, and so you're excited to see
(25:19):
him play. The one curious thing about this decision, of course,
is that you know Flacco is going to be two
and not Sanders. And I still contend Sanders is going
to start this season. I've contended that since he was drafted,
since I saw the quarterback room there, that we're gonna
end up getting all three of these guys to start.
But the thing's interesting is that they're not even comfortable
making Santas the backup yet, and that that, to me
(25:41):
is a very very curious decision, Like well the flacko thing.
What I guess the idea is, you know, at least
you know you put someone you trust in that backup
spot and things aren't going well, you can play it
because what if what.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
If Dylan Gabriel gets hurt and it's the third quarter,
You're gonna throw Shador into the wolves?
Speaker 4 (25:59):
Yeah, I mean no, it's it's a good point. And
remember the third quarterback can only play at the first
two get hurt, right, Just remember that guys. You can't
come in. You can't just be like, oh everyone stakes,
but the third quarterback is not the way it works.
The third quarterback has to be has to come in
at the first two are hurt. So Sanders can't play
unless that unless those those are those qualifications are met there.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
And you know, the shame of it all is the
Brown's defense is legit. It's really good, which I think
I think you put Gabriel in there.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
It's to your point what you mentioned, like you just
hit the open guy, hit the check down, hit the
tight end, hit hit the five yard route, and just
give a little bit of hope the rest of your
team that you know that it can be. You know
that that your that your team can just play defense,
run the football. Again. This opponent makes it difficult because
the Browns, I mean, the Vikings are very good on defense,
and they they they're very you know they do they
(26:46):
confuse you like, they do a lot of good stuff
to make it hard to play against them.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
By the way, total thirty.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yeah, it keeps going down that there's almost some concerns
about any weather in this game, which is no surprise
because that's that feels like every international series game in
London feels that way.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Uh, Houston and the ray and the Ravens, so Texas
Ravens and of course the Ravens know Lamar because of
the handstring.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
So there are just they're just decimating.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
It might be easier to say who actually is playing
and who.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Is the righting this game?
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Oh my god, have you been in that situation? They're
one in three. Last week was a disaster. They're completely
banged up.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
I've been on the call. We had a college R
seven college team or were number two in the country
that year with Dnnis Dixon and then we had we
end up playing our last game of the year with
our fifth string quarterback, Wow, which is like which you
don't really have in college, by the way, and we
lost the two wide receivers are tight end, our running back.
(27:52):
It was it was bad. Look we saw last week
inst Kansas City. I think just mentally looking at that
team on the sidelines. Look, it just they're just in
a bad place right now. And that happens as of injuries. Look,
you don't have a lot of depth the NFL. It's
just not the way that it's hard to have a
(28:13):
roster full of a lot of depth and you can
feel that as a player, as a coach and as
much as you can do. And I think the Ravens
defense is not played well even with the starters at
times this season there's just nothing left to do. I
mean that is a team that looks defeated right now,
a team that looks like they know that things are
not going the way that they envision this season.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
And they know that.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Look, injuries are not fair. There's no rhyme or reason
for them. A lot of times, it's just bad luckily.
There's nothing the Ravens could do differently. It's just bad luck, man.
And that's tough to accept, you know, tough to accept
that we've had bad luck this season. And the thing
is they're playing with now what mean luckily? For them?
(28:53):
I guess they're playing a Texans team that is atrocious
on offense.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
I mean, they they had had horrible It was when they.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Played the other against the Titans, it was six to
nothing in the fourth quarter in it being twenty four
nothing at the end. But for them, they're playing a
team that I'm not even sure can take advantage of it.
I don't even know if the Texans did advantage of
all these injuries that they are, they are bad right now,
especially an offense, which is really disappointed because we thought
with a new OC and with Stroud, you know, last
(29:28):
year might might have been operation horrible. I know, it's
really bad. Look, man, you can design an offense around
a bad offensive line. I didn't look trying to do that,
you know. And Stroud just looks uncomfortable. That's part of
it too. He doesn't look very comfortable anymore, which he
did in year one. Did it looked comfortable last season?
(29:50):
And so for all these things, I think I'm concerned
if you're Texas fan, even in this game where you
know you should go to Baltimore and dominate this team.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Yeah, look at look at what the Ravens have given
up forty one to the Bills, thirty eight to the Lions,
thirty seven to the Chiefs, seventeen to the Browns, which
is like forty to anybody.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Game him in that game by the way, too, remember.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
That's like give it up seventeen points to Cleveland's like
giving up forty to the Chiefs. I mean that defense, wow, man,
you know, and look not having that a beak way
early as hurt them. And then last week the floodgates
just you know, you just get crushed.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
I'm with you. The Chiefs went did that way last week.
That was a good like we're back when for the Chiefs.
So that was what you should do to a beat
up team and they did. They played well. All right,
that's what about your boys? What did you think of
Jackson Dark A lot of energy? Yeah, I though it
was fine. We need to hire his Pierre's his pr
(30:59):
agent though, because there's no one who gets more love
than Jackson Dart right now and anything. I know they're
excited for him. But he threw for one hundred and
eleven yards. Like, let's take a deep breath, everybody, I like,
can we just like take a little bit of a breath.
And he was better than Russell Wilson. His run was
was great early on, but that's a very you know,
that's a very game planned run, right. They did a
(31:19):
great job of basically a pro a pass run option
in a situation. But he threw for one hundred eleven yards.
The Neighbors is not playing this weekend. He's out for
the season. He hurt his hamstring if you remember, and
then you know Wilson to come in during that game,
so I good start a little bit of juice brought.
It wasn't Russell Wilson, but man, we're talking about him
(31:40):
like he's Joe Montana, Like can we just like take
a deep breath for here for a second. So again,
not Russell Wilson did some good things. But he threw
for one hundred and eleven yards. You don't have to
wait many games for one hundred eleven yards.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
No, No, but you know you listen. I'd like to
see against New Orleans. I like to see him for
a little bit more. Obviously a neighbors.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
Be hard man without neighbors. Though he's such a dynamic
football player, too unfortunate to see him get hurt, you know,
like that, and and losing for the season because he
I don't know. Again, I don't have people pay pay
attention to, you know, to the Giants as close as
maybe we do or you know you're in Northeast. I
played for them. The neighbors is is if he was
on anyone else man with he's so good and so
(32:28):
him being out, you know you, Wendy Robinson. I mean
these guys like they're okay slain, they're not million neighbors,
and it's a pretty big blow for young quarterback who
just trying to you know, have weapons around him and
get a comfortable with playing the position.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
It is now, I will say this, I think the
Giants are building something.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Like I love their front. I mean it's good.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Yeah, No, I think like next year, Like I I
think if you're a Giants fan, you're you're you're feeling
really good because you finally broke the cycle of just
heart like horrible and no direction. Right, Like, this was
a franchise that was aimless, and now I think you finally.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Got the build right.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
You gotta, you know, continue to build your O line
because you got the bases there or something, and then
you grow dark you get neighbors back. I love their defense.
I love Scataboo. I mean, you know, you got some
pieces there.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
Scataboo is fun to watch. But man, he's he has
a shelf life. He can't he hits, he tastes it's
gonna be. It's like you're like, yeah, there's just not
gonna last, unfortunately, And this is the way the league works.
Speaking about that.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Sit tight on that because we got to take quick
t o all right, and then we'll fini. We'll get
that thought. Quick shout out to my man Tuc Jeff,
who is in Venice right now Italy listening to us
with him and his wife Debbie. So a great shout
out to those guys.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Honest.

and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
All right, let's continue to go around the NFL, and
then next hour we start with baseball and the playoffs,
and it's really good. It's good stuff, and of course
coming up into that, we will dive deep into college
football and the card for today pretty light today, not
a lot of great games other than Miami Florida State
(35:03):
is a is an awesome one. Uh. The Broncos and
the Eagles tomorrow. Uh, the Eagles coming off a lot
of high drama with AJ Brown and uh with tweeting
out the Bible Verse.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
Just catch a football, bro like's.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
I have to say this though, all right, because I
know that he causes some distraction from time to time.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
He's not t o right, No, he's not.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
He's a full He's a sensitive kid, he really is.
He cares, he wants to win. It's not about personal
numbers with him. He just believe the offense has struggled
and he just believes that he just is like just
throwing the ball, trust me. I mean his beef is
kind of with Jayalen and in that Jala is not
(35:57):
gonna put the ball in pederalal And you know the
way teams are, they're bracketing.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
A j Brown probably about to cover two.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Yeah, and you know Jalen's got a tough time fit
the ball in the window. Right, He's got to get
the ball out, He's got to trust it. And therein
lies the issue.
Speaker 4 (36:18):
Yeah. I mean, look, wide receivers are there are always
the divas, right, they sort of have to be. It's
that it's that position. I think it's hard to be
a wide receiver. I'd have a little bit of an ego, right,
and you obviously need the quarterback to give you the
ball to get paid. So I understand it. But he
just came off a game against the Rams where he
was the focal point of the offense, right, and he
was helpful in that comeback, and I get I get it,
(36:41):
But like what your four to zero things are going well?
What happens when you're like, if you lose a couple
of games, Like, what your attitude is gonna be? Like
that's my thing, right, like right now, right he should
have the best attitude of all time, your offic super
Bowl championship, You've won what twenty of the last twenty
one games? What happens when you have some adversity and
(37:02):
you're gonna act even more like more more Bible versus
more more devidous, Like what do you do when things
aren't going well? Things are going this well and you're
acting like this, Like that's my that's my concern is
that if they lose two games in a row and
he is to get the ball, is he gonna ask
for a trade request, Like what's gonna happen then? But
(37:24):
he's not gonna do no, you know. But that's my
point is like right now things are going well and
you shouldn't.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
Well they listener four and oh, so yeah, I think
intellectually you go, yeah, you're four and oh. But the
offensive has had awful spells. I just told you, David
complete the pass in the second half they had five
to three and outs of they were Jalen was zero
for six in the second half. The first half against
(37:51):
the Rams, they get booed off the field.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
They couldn't do anything offensively.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
The second half against the Cowboys, they couldn't move the ball.
So like they're they're while they're four and out and
it's great and you can get through get past some things.
There definitely is frustration mounting on execution on that side
of the ball.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
Absolutely, And look you've had You've had now what three
quarters in three years. I mean you're gonna end up
with with that, and I think, look, the thing hurts.
He he's one better quarterbacks in the NFL, but he's
just not an overly dynamic passer every week as we know.
(38:34):
And I get where that frustrates his wide receivers. But
his job is to win football games, and his job
is not to make it look pretty or do it
a certain way. And all that guy does win football games.
And when they need him most, he's ready, he's available.
He's making plays. When you run the football, he's run
the football and even hit the ball off like he
(38:56):
is a he's a winning quarterback and you're some weeks
he's not giving you the ball, man, it's just the
way it is. Well, I think the frustration is he's
it's somebody turns it down. Well yeah, but for the
way defenses play him like they're not gonna play press
(39:17):
man because he's gonna and then you got the easy
and cut and you know Dalen could.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Make that for all that long. So they're gonna force Jalen.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
They know how to play Jalen like they're gonna force
him and to throw the ball in the windows and
he's not gonna do it, like he won't put the
ball in peril. And there is the pushing the ball
right between the two and your point is right.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
Like listen, he's about he is.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
The ultimate winner, like he's about winning games no matter
what they do. It's like when Chris Jones said, hey,
you know, you didn't gain whatever yards and he's like, dude,
look at we won. You know, like that's a big deal.
Like he's hard to add, I know, yeah, and then
(40:02):
and then and then then their point is and there's
there's people in the building. You go, you know, it's
just sustainable, like they're they let me ask that question.
Speaker 4 (40:12):
You feel like the margin of error is not as
big when you have an offense playing like this, but
they keep winning games, so who cares?
Speaker 2 (40:20):
That's why I look at it right well, you know,
and listen, they won the Super Bowl, so hey, coming up,
we look at Major League Baseball playoffs.

baseball a little bit. I thought the division seer in
the wildcard round was good. The thing that stands out
(41:50):
is you just gotta you can't rush through this stuff.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
Baseball's not a game to rush through it.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
You gotta shorten's season and then dive all into the
playoffs because the playoffs are great there.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
It's fantastic. I also thought that with so many division
matchups in the wildcard round, we got a little more
drama than usual, right you had obviously, you know, the
guardians come all the way back right, uh, from the dead,
and they win the division, which is right, and then
(42:31):
they play each other in the postseason. I think the
most predictive outcome was what happened with Tigers win the series, right,
and then you have obviously very famously and the Yankees
Red Sox right the rivalry of baseball, and that was
a fantastic series as well. You have a young kid
going what eight and a third as a rookie, the
drama lea was it Game two or no? Game one?
(42:54):
Bases loaded and Chapman shuts down the Yankees. I mean
it was it was a lot of fun. Look posters
in baseball we talked about this, dude. It is just
every pitch, man, you could feel it. You feel like
the the anxiety, the the you know, the how important
(43:14):
every pitch is and like how it means.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
Theater like like it's great.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
How could they How could Boston, New York or like
take Cleveland Detroit?
Speaker 3 (43:24):
Right? But to your point, you know, not a team's
very good.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
I mean, the Tigers have an epic collapse and Cleveland
was just and basically got gifted the division. The series
was awesome, Like if those those games were incredible make
it seven. No, here's what I would do, all right,
And I'll argue with you on this one, buddy. You
(43:52):
the regular season is way too much, way too much.
It's and then you have to rush through the playoff,
which make no sense because first of all, team shouldn't
have bybe like the entire ship for a whole week.
It's not good. It's not good for aers you. It's
not baseball. Baseball's over series play. So make it one
(44:17):
hundred and forty four games and go full rounds of
playoffs like we're gonna have Phillies Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
It's a five game series. That's ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (44:30):
Well, so I think that once you get in the
wildcard round and go back to sevens five, I think
the wildcar round should be three. It should favor It
should favor the.
Speaker 3 (44:39):
Bang the wildcard round.
Speaker 4 (44:41):
It should. The reason why it's three games is it
is it It favors obviously the team who has the
higher seed, right, because in a seven game series, the
better team should win, right, right, And sometimes the better
team is not the team who has the higher seed.
And so they're trying to set this up in a
way where the the you know, the better team is
(45:04):
gonna was gonna win the series. The better team is
not guaranteed to win the series. If you play seven,
the better team is most oftenly gonna win if you
play three. It's the team the team. But that's why
it's set up that way.
Speaker 2 (45:20):
No, I don't set up that way. I think it's stupid.
So I'll be honest with you. Like, I've covered baseball
a long time, and they never get it right. MLB,
it's a great sport, they never get it right. Lean
into the playoffs. The playoff is the best part of baseball.
It's when people are captivated by it. So imagine that.
(45:44):
And you're also gonna get to today right. So yeah,
Pitts clock worked. I'm with you. Shift work with you.
Now go step further and make it it knockoff some
regular season games started and the March, run it through August,
and when you're in September, start a two month playoffs
(46:08):
like they do in an NBA and the NHL.
Speaker 4 (46:12):
Well, mb eighties to start sooner too, so they don't
run up their season is so long. Look, I'm never
gonna be really against more sports to watch. I'm I
guess I'm fine with the playoff length. I've never thought that.
I think maybe you know, the Bier.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Shorten the regular season, so it's still gonna be the same.
This season will still end in October, like the first couple.
Speaker 4 (46:39):
Of start later, start start later.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
I again, I just want, I just want more playoffs.
I think the playoffs are the best part of the
of the of the sport, like and the rhythm of
the season. There's a dog day, like when you get
to August, I mean a month August. People are tired
of it. I love the sport, but people are tired
of it. This way, you start end of March, you
(47:04):
gotta spread people.
Speaker 3 (47:05):
The season comes back.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
Oh yeah, baseball, baseball, baseball right April, May, June, okay, July,
you're you're there. You'll well, next thing, you know, August
is is Pennant race. And then you start the playoffs
in September.
Speaker 4 (47:19):
I get it, you will, so you would do you
would do one hundred and forty four games?
Speaker 2 (47:25):
Yeah, yeah, And then I've added two more playoff teams,
and then in both leagues eight.
Speaker 4 (47:30):
So so basically everyone makes the playoffs and then you
have you know, that's.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
Like NBA and NHL, right, like you're gonna play.
Speaker 4 (47:38):
Too many teams, make still too many teams, and the
NBA has ten teams now obviously because of the playoff.
Speaker 3 (47:43):
Well, I wouldn't I hate that. I don't. I wouldn't
do that.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
I mean the eight because you overexpanded and you're gonna
expand Baseball is going to expand they're gonna add two franchises,
so you're like, you probably get a franchise.
Speaker 4 (47:58):
I don't think Charle's gonna for you don't think so, No,
we don't have a we don't have a we have
a facility right now.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
For for well, Nashville, somebody's gonna was fantastic.
Speaker 4 (48:13):
I just I just don't think. I mean, Portland has
been begging for a baseball team forever, so yeah, I
mean they, uh, you know they. I just don't think
we're to get one.
Speaker 2 (48:21):
And we're gonna figure out what we're gonna do with
the Florida teams. But whatever, him just got bought. I
think I think they're staying. They just got but I mean,
I still think it doesn't work there. But whatever the
idea of if you look at baseball and where it's at,
like you can easily add a couple of teams. You
(48:43):
can add a couple of teams to the playoffs and
then just grow it. I don't like sitting around for
a week. Well, exect to the sport. That part the
buys screwed. We've seen this right, the Bys screw the
good teams. I mean we saw even we saw a
video of Toronto had like an open scrimmage right where
fans had to watch the scrimmage.
Speaker 3 (49:03):
This week, the Philly's had thirty thousand people there.
Speaker 4 (49:09):
It's a really cool option for for fans to go
watch like basically a practice with you know, with your
favorite team, and then you just be able to again
like be able to watch it and for free. It
was a free I imagine, right donation. Yeah it was
the charity. Yeah, it's a great concept.
Speaker 3 (49:25):
It's a great it really is. But it doesn't take.
It doesn't take that. It's not real baseball, right, I mean.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
As as it's you're it's it's still a little different.
And you got to see live pitching, but the correct
you have to see like live posts and pitching.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
It's different when you're when your boys are going to
the ball. So I'm with you. Look, I think that
the break is too long for the teams that deserve
the break and have earned the break, and if adding
more teams makes that break disappear, fine again, I'm I'm
indifferent on making the schedule, uh, changing the playoff structure.
I will say though, I think I would I would
(50:00):
love a seven game series between Philly Los Angeles. I'll
tell you that that would be a good five games
to felk enough for that series. The other series you don't.
I don't really care as much for Toronto.
Speaker 2 (50:09):
Well, I mean Cubs Milwaukee, let's go through them real quick.
So Game one today, two oh eight from Milwaukee. Cubs
Brewers a great rivalry.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
This is a really good, good series.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
Boyd I I I don't know if I buy the Cubs,
but I don't buy the Brewers.
Speaker 3 (50:33):
So dude, they find a way.
Speaker 4 (50:35):
Man. They're good, yeah, but they were a good fundamental team. Yeah,
but I think in the postseason, you gotta hit some
home runs. Man, they don't hit home runs. I don't
think you can dig.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
A I don't think you got Yelich, you got Churio,
they have, you'll have Hoskins and uh, I mean, I mean, listen,
they're a team. They just play. They're a good ball club. Man,
they disagree.
Speaker 4 (51:03):
I just think that that's that the style of play
that they had that they play with has not over
the years translated very well to winning win championships.
Speaker 3 (51:12):
I don't know about that. I mean, and they have pitching,
they typically pitching, I understand.
Speaker 4 (51:19):
I I just don't buy them as as a as
a World's Aerias contender. Now they might beat the Cubs,
I think the Pills and Dodgers are just far better
than Brewers are.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
Uh and then the four oh eight today Yanks and
Blue Jays. This there's gonna be a lot of runs here.
Guzman and Gil Gild pitcher for the Yankees.
Speaker 4 (51:41):
I love how much Yankees fans hate their team, Like
I just like, they mean, what do you mean, just
New York team? Like they just they just they want
to fire Boon every loss, and they're just they just
they're just so passionate.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
Man.
Speaker 4 (52:00):
I have plenty of Yankee friends in my in my
life that just do not enjoy watching this team play.
And they're into They're an awful defensive team. Correct, and
then that's why, like they just don't do fundamentals very well.
They're very hit or miss on pitching you know, over
the years, Judge has not performed as well in the
postseason it does the regular season, and those that didn't
(52:23):
just frustrate the heck out of Yankees fans. It feels
much harder than it has to be for the Yankees.
And I don't think the yan Yankees fans like Booon
very much. So it's just this whole thing where every
Yankee and I know it's root for them to win,
but like sort of wants Boon to be fired. It's
a very interesting dynamic for Yankees fans.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
Yeah, it's funny. It's funny. Your problem is they're not
built right, and they don't have great pit. The kitschlitters unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (52:50):
That was a great, incredible start, But I don't think
you're expecting that to happen every time it was out there.
Speaker 2 (52:54):
No, no, no, no, But the uh and you're pitching.
You know, I'm not love with your bullpen either. I mean,
this is you're very good, right, which is why. And
the Yankees fans it is just luck love right. Like
if they would have lost them to Boston, you know,
they might have there might have been more calls to
fire Boon and change things up. But you beat Boston,
you sort of back in the same place you sort
(53:16):
of always are, which is the point you're making, right.
Pitching kind of not really good enough to probably win
a World Series, and the defense is not good enough
to win a World Series.
Speaker 4 (53:25):
But here you are. You're one series away from being
in the in you know, in the in the championship round.
So I think I think the Yankees probably win this series,
but not a strong take on it.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
Yeah, I'll take Toronto in the series. I think got
too much. They got too much firepower, their lineup, the
their lineup is good. It's also versatile, and I just
don't like the Yankee pitching.
Speaker 4 (53:55):
Yeah, that's fair. The bullpen of Yankees terrifies me. Yeah.
And uh, even they did pitch well in the in
the last series. Yeah, but can you do that now over?
Obviously it's season on the road in Toronto.
Speaker 2 (54:10):
Uh, Tigers, Mariners the other al series. The Manners are
the other team we talked about this love that I
like a lot. I think that I think they should
come out of American League. Uh, they have pitching, they
have a long line up. Now the Tigers. The one
problem about playing the Tigers is you got to face
(54:31):
Schooble twice.
Speaker 4 (54:34):
In this series. Yes you would, yes, and uh the
other day Game one, he was his over under was
for outre quarters? How many how many you know how
many batters he faces or how long he goes the game?
U not matter f how long he goes was it
was eighteen and a half, which was six and a third? Correct?
(54:57):
I need him to go over six and a third
plus money, I bet I like. Yeah's game one? Of
course what seven and seven and third eight and the third?
I don't understand some of these numbers set and these
guys it's the postseason now many they restrict player is off.
They're going, they're going full full steam ahead. And he's
so good. But he does well we've seen with schoolball.
The one thing he can get him, just like a
lot of pictures, is that third time through the lineup,
(55:18):
right where the third time through the lineup, just if
you're's a weakness, it's just not as good, which again
is not he's you want to get you. I'm saying
that that's the only time to get him. I'm not
saying it's gonna happen, but that's the time we have
to get him.
Speaker 2 (55:33):
It is just a lot of times those guys have
dude early, Like the first st inning is when you
jump on those guys before they get into a rhythm.
Like a lot of times to those great aces, Doc
calla Day was like that.
Speaker 4 (55:48):
The school bol starts so fast.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
Man, He's just I'm telling you early on before they
get it. Feel once they get it, feel they're in
a rhythm, you're cooked.
Speaker 4 (55:58):
I agree. But if you can get you can steal
one game where Schoobol pitches, you're in a great spot.
Speaker 3 (56:03):
Well yeah, well so think about it.
Speaker 2 (56:05):
Right, So Schooble's going tomorrow and he would pitch game five.
So if you're the mission to pull the upset, if
you're the Tigers, and this is why the series should
be set, it's not fair to Seattle. Right.
Speaker 3 (56:17):
If you're Seattle, you're like, what the freak?
Speaker 2 (56:20):
It's a it's a five game series, and now I
got it. I have to win, right, I gotta win
the non schoolbl games or I or I can lose.
Speaker 4 (56:32):
There's also just sports. I mean, it's not gonna be
a perfect for you. I mean that the Tigers are
there for that reason. And if you want to be
a World Series champion, you gotta beat the.
Speaker 2 (56:42):
Best of the best. But you know what I'm saying,
it's not it's correct. That's where it goes back to
the seven game series and.
Speaker 4 (56:48):
The and the week off, which probably isn't great to
have a week off and then go fe schooball. Uh no,
I would beatin it not very fun.
Speaker 2 (56:55):
So and then the other game today, which is believable
is Phillies Dodgers, and that's at six at six o'clock
and dude Otani, who is the greatest player we've seen,
right against Sanchez who has just been.
Speaker 3 (57:15):
Fantastic for the Phillies.
Speaker 2 (57:17):
Philly's had a huge blow losing Zach Wheeler, who is
the ace. And you know Zach is a horse. He's
money all day. It's a shame he had blood clot
and his shoulder. Uh. That guy, he's doing well. He
had surgery because he could have been like threatening. He's uh,
he's he's he's the best Wheeler but no Wheeler. They
(57:41):
now Sanchez should he should get some votes along.
Speaker 3 (57:46):
With Skeens and sit between him and Skins for.
Speaker 2 (57:48):
The NLSI Young Award. He's good, he's a lefty, he's
tough to hit, but that Dodge line up.
Speaker 4 (57:55):
Man, when you live between him and Skeins, you mean
Skins is gonna win, but he might get a few votes.
The Skids I lose.
Speaker 2 (58:02):
I could make the argument that Sanchez deserves it if
I was voting, and then this is not a Philadelphia
thing because I voted for rewards. I would vote Sanchez
because he gives you seven innings as opposed to five. Sure,
(58:23):
I go back and look at the numbers. I mean
he gives you more. I don't know that, dude, Sanchez
has ad an amazing year. I know nobody really knows
them but knows them, and everybody knows Skens.
Speaker 4 (58:38):
I take the Dodgers. I would like you to beat them.
Thank you. My personal request. I can't listen to do fans.
Speaker 2 (58:44):
Let me just give you his numbers real quick. All right,
here's Sanchez. Two hundred and two innings. He's only allowed
one hundred and seventy one hits, fifty six runs, he
struck out two one twelve, only twelve home runs. Man,
that's a that's a damn good season, man, really good.
Speaker 4 (59:09):
No one disagrees with everyone knows you puts on the season.
I'm just saying I think Skens is gentlemen. I hung
pretty easily.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
Yeah, were you.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Liking to see you like in this series? I told
you I I Philly. You like you like, I know
you want the Philly to win.
Speaker 4 (59:28):
I think Dodgers are better, but I I would love to. Yeah,
the Dodgers just due. It's just it's one through nine,
It's it's their whole lineup, it's their whole like just
getting over over five games. Man, it just feels like
it's just so hard. Everyone can beat you in this lineup.
You know, maybe you knock a little bit or pitching,
(59:49):
but you know, we we.
Speaker 3 (59:50):
Talk about the bullpen is horrendous.
Speaker 4 (59:53):
Well, yeah, but when you add when you add in,
you know, the four starters are moving the bullpen.
Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
He got rocked. Yeah, he got beat up.
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
And I just don't like the one thing I just
don't think like Klayt Kershaw is going to do on
the bullpen. I think that's a bad decision. If he's
on your World Series roster, I mean on your playoff roster,
I think you have to have him like actually play
and pitch and start and then be the bullpen. But nonetheless,
I they're just better. I in the bullpen.
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
The reason why they have Kershaw on the roster is
the lefties to fake come in and face Harper and swarm. Yeah,
but I just sure you don't want to start him.
You can't start him over. No, you've got you got, No,
he's not gonna just.
Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
The problem is, though, is that he's a guy that
really has never worked out a bullpen in his career, right,
and now all of a sudden you're gonna say, hey, man,
you're not on a normal routine that you've done for
eighteen years. Now, go get loose and go face you
know three, you know, you know two guys. It just
it's to me, it's a hard ask for Kershaw to
do that, for a guy who's done one thing for
(01:01:00):
what eighteen years now, to then just.
Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
Go to bullhell different, don't you know? I get it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:05):
But again, these are situations we see in baseball a
time where guys that are Hall of famers fail when
they get put into like bullpen rolls.
Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
Yah, well, I mean they they're bullpen stinks. That's why,
well they have.
Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
To do it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
I'm saying, I just don't like it. I don't like
it for Kersha. I don't think it's gonna I don't
think it's gonna go as well as the Daughters. Hope,
hope it does.
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Yeah, well, we'll see, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
I think the Phillies, Yeah, I think it's a dead
even series, dead even series, great series. It's gonna be Uh,
it's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (01:01:39):
Lost the Phillies win.
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
You and me both, bro, I'm with you, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
Lots to get to uh some college stuff on the
other side that we got to dive into some big
games at a Florida State Miami. All right, felt, It's
Jeff Schwartz, Anthony. I got out right here on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
Ah, welcome back, fellas as we hang out. Big sports Day,
fun sports day. We gon use sports today too, Buddy.
I got we got, I gotta I got a softball
game I gotta drive to after this. I got a
fog football game. I gotta be at.
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
We go over the city. Yeah, we have a we
have a one toady too. We have a against our arrival.
We play the minute.
Speaker 4 (01:02:37):
Men, we gotta drive. I gotta drive forty I think
forty five minutes for softball this morning, then drive back
home and drive twenty minutes to flag football. Yeah, buddy,
I never have to The thing that's nice about like
where I live is I never really have to go anywhere.
I think a third day, I'm like, I'm basically twelve
minutes away from anything I ever have to do in
(01:02:57):
life except yeah, like the kids.
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
School is good. That's it. That's big.
Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
One school is five minutes away. One is like with
traffic seven minutes a little longer. Sometimes I never I'm
only on the freeway or highway whenever I go to
the airport every week for work. And then my wife's
office is twelve minutes away. Downtown Uptown, I call it
twelve minutes away. The mall is five minutes away. The
(01:03:24):
little league is five minutes away. It's pretty nice.
Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
That's good. Stress free, right there.
Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Is. Yes, my oldest school is fifty two minutes away.
Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
Yeah, I know, we moved.
Speaker 3 (01:03:42):
I gotta go into the city.
Speaker 4 (01:03:44):
We moved where we did for that reason. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
Yeah, no, it's no listen, you know, that's that's it.
That's a good cheat.
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
Code to life because you get time and it's stress free.
Speaker 4 (01:03:56):
Which is why like going to like play softball forty
five minutes away, You're like drive forty five minutes ago.
Softball came today.
Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
You do.
Speaker 2 (01:04:05):
Try listen. I love you travel baseball homes.
Speaker 4 (01:04:10):
No, we ain't playing that. Let me tell you something.
Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
Let me tell you if the journeys that we've had.
Speaker 4 (01:04:16):
Oh, I'm sure I have plenty of friends who play
travel sports, but we ain't live in that life. Yeah,
at least I'm holding out as long as possible. Yeah, yeah,
I'd be my daughter anyways for softball.
Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
But we're so Yeah, it's it's it's a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
It's not, it's not. Hold well, hold out as long
as I can.
Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
How was your weekend last weekend? Because you were solo,
did you what did you make yourself? Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
No, my wife came home. My wife ended up coming home.
But uh, my wife ended up coming home early. So
it wasn't. It wasn't uh as so as I thought
it would be. You know, what's so funny? So is
your is your wife into football or sports or anything
like that? No, she mine's not either, and normally mine
(01:04:59):
does not care. It off. I'm watching football, Like I
I like, last the class, we're in bed, we're watching
on show on Netflix. I'm watching football on MyPad. Okay,
Like that's that's normally, that's fine, right, she shouldn't care,
except only when I care about a game does she
actually cared that I'm watching it? So last week I'm
watching Penn State organ and uh and she's like, uh, hey,
(01:05:20):
Like do you want to move furniture right now?
Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:05:24):
I don't. Hey, we have to do this like figure
in the house, like come make this bed with me.
I'm like, okay, I have forty five seconds still, commercial's over.
I'm not like, why don't you I want to go
to sleep, coming to bed? I go, I'm just not,
I'm not coming to bed yet. You can sleep without me.
You're okay, You're you're, you're, you're, you're, you're twenty nine
(01:05:45):
every year, you can do it. You don't need it
in the bed to watch this game. And like I'm
not so I'm not a very loud or overtly like
passionate fan watching sports. I of course I love I
want team to win this.
Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
Honestly have the same way.
Speaker 4 (01:06:01):
But when Oregon is playing a big game, like I'm
into it. Like I'm like, I'm like sort of pacing
and watching, you know, standing next to the TV and
all the things that we see all the time. And
she just like mocks me the whole time, which is fine,
It's I don't care about that. But it just like, well,
there's a big game. Uh, I'm I want to watch
it like quietly by myself and not be in the bed.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Yeah, I don't like watching football in the bed.
Speaker 4 (01:06:26):
I don't mind it when she when she falls asleep,
I just put football on. It's like last night she
falls asleep. We watch shows together in seven minute increments,
the seven minutes she's off her phone and before she
goes to bed. So it takes a long time to
watch a show. But the good news is I to
watch football when she falls asleep.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
Which show we did the same thing?
Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
Well, we have our shows, but I'm gonna upstairs downstairs,
like she my wife will be in her lair upstairs
in our bedroom, and you know, I'll watch games downstairs
and but then we'll do our shows and then you
know whatever, But we.
Speaker 4 (01:07:02):
Only have a show right now, we're sort of thinking,
we're like off, we don't only have a show. Per
se that we're watching right now. But uh, but yeah,
I mean she just wants to watch like some thing
to put her asleep. Essentially, it doesn't even matter what
it is, as long as a TV on my dog
is like baking show. Uh dude, I'm being serious. We
watch shows in about seven to twelve minute increments every night,
(01:07:26):
and eventually, if the show is good enough, I just
watch it on my own when she's not paying attention.
It's like skip forward.
Speaker 3 (01:07:35):
Let me recommend House of Guinness, which.
Speaker 4 (01:07:39):
That was when I just saw the preview for that.
When I put on the light of my list, that's
for the I think that's.
Speaker 2 (01:07:44):
Strong, it's very good. Did you see Black Rabbit with Jason.
Speaker 4 (01:07:48):
That's also when I was told to watch this week
as well, Jason Patman.
Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
Right, yeah, it's good.
Speaker 4 (01:07:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
It's like it's like Uncut Gems.
Speaker 4 (01:07:58):
They said it was like Ozark, but different way to
do it. Uncut Uncut Gems was the sailing movie.
Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
Right, yeah, that movie was. That movie made me have anxiety.
It was so like, this is like this is exactly
the same. It's uncut Gems meets the Bear. Oh what
the show is? Uncut Gems make gaming anxiety. Man, that
was That was and I don't get anxiety there easy.
That movie was so for now this one's this one.
(01:08:25):
You were to get some anxiety anxiety off of it.
It's good, well done.
Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
I like it.
Speaker 4 (01:08:30):
You look uncut JEMs because it's a Philly thing now
New York, New York'm sorry. The other sailing movie, the Hustle.
Hustle was a Philly when he's a basketball scout.
Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
Yeah, I'm in that one.
Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
You're in that one?
Speaker 3 (01:08:42):
Yeah, yeah, I helped to do it and I'm in it.
Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
Yeah, oh serious, I gotta I'm gonna watch about you,
like are you a report asking a question or something?
Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
Yeah? The radio and I'm a report. I asked him question.
You know, he's the best. Adam is an awesome dude
because I helped, like behind the scenes. The director is
a friend of mine. Jeremiah's regard is terrific. In fact,
you should watch there's a great show called Task on
HBO and it takes place in Philadelphia. It's really well done,
(01:09:14):
really just casually through and like you were in the
in the movie. Well only when you know, do.
Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
You get like do you get like a sad credits
for that are you just a one time fee?
Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
No, I remember of sack. There you go. Yeah, it's fun.
I love that stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
I kind of dabbleated on the side, like I write,
I'm still waiting for my big break.
Speaker 4 (01:09:36):
This is your big break. I'm sorry, this is it.
This is it break.
Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
I love this. I love waggling you, and I love
the sports. I love sports.
Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
Might think, but I've always like wanted to just do one,
Like I got a half dozen projects that I want
to get done.
Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
It's just for you. I wish I had that. My
passion is like it's just watching more football.
Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
Wow, I'm feeling that.
Speaker 4 (01:10:01):
That's what I explained to my wife. I'm I might hunt.
Look listen to me. You know, I don't I don't party.
I don't like hang out with a bunch of people.
I'm not I'm home every night like I'm not out.
Like all I want to do is watch football. That's
all I want to do in life, Like I just
want to watch football. To a football season. When it's
a football season, we travel, we go to the beach
all the time, like the diffootball season. That's all I
want to do. I just want to sit at home
(01:10:22):
and watch ball.
Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
I think that's fair. Yeah, good trade off. I think
so too.
Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
All right, speaking of speaking of football, let's look at it.
Let's start looking at today and what we got today
so early, let's go noontime starts early. We got Georgia
and Kentucky and uh, you know Georgia last week, man, Alabama.
Speaker 4 (01:10:57):
No second, had of points and didn't win. I know, surprising, honestly,
I know. Yeah, what do you think?
Speaker 2 (01:11:04):
Because when I when I look at it was funny
because that game I watched it. You and I were
both watching Penn State Oregon, so.
Speaker 4 (01:11:11):
I see, I didn't watch much of it live.
Speaker 3 (01:11:14):
It happened at the time, same with us.
Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Yeah, and so we were kind of I know you
and I were because we were a texting during the game.
But I you know, man, something about Georgia.
Speaker 3 (01:11:24):
They don't feel like the same team, right.
Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
So this is a pretty easy explanation, in my opinion,
is when you have a run like they had, and
basically the entire team goes to the NFL, no matter
how many five star recruits you have, you just are
going to replace it. You just aren't. It's impossible to
replace all that talent, all the coaches that have left.
Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:11:49):
You know, look, they lost Landing and Todd Munkett. They
both sides of the ball have not been the same
offensive defense since that time. You know the portal now,
you know when you had essentially you know, you had
a bunch of five stars playing in a bunch of
five stars waiting behind them. Those guys that wait, they
transfer now right like, they don't stay anymore. So the
depth is just not quite the same as it used
(01:12:10):
to be. And they're just for lack of men. They're
just not as good. It doesn't mean they stink or
they're bad. They're just not as good as they were
in the past. And and they also have some sort
of mental block playing Alabama as well. But those are
the reasons why it's it's not I don't think it's
very overly complicated. They're just not as good as they've
been in the past because the bar was so they
(01:12:31):
were so good. I think about all the players that
have in the NFL right now that we're at Georgia
during their championship runs, and there's not as good.
Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
It's it's that simple. Yeah, you know what, I think
you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:12:41):
I think you can't suffer that kind of attrition and
you know, keep feeding that beast.
Speaker 3 (01:12:48):
At some point it's got to drop off.
Speaker 4 (01:12:50):
I think you're right, and that's what I mean, that's
what we saw.
Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
Yeah, all right, let's take quick Tillo will continue to
talk about, Uh, we're gonna die. We have to dive
deeper into college kind of what we see. Uh, we'll
take a look quickly at the card, and then next
hour we'll also take a look at uh because I
(01:13:13):
have the brains pick, so we'll take a look at
it from a betting standpoint. Where the fellas Jeff Schwartz

Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
For over forty years, tire Rack has been helping because
of his find the right tires for hell watt where
they drive ship fast and free back by free roadhazard production,
convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, tire raq dot
com the way tire buying should be and now here's
(01:13:59):
the ti Iraq play of the day. It's uh Vegas
the Aces all right in the w n B A Finals,
Uh Dana Evans's.
Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
Born again.
Speaker 4 (01:14:19):
Evans.
Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
There you go your ti Iraq play of the Day.
Speaker 4 (01:14:25):
The w n b A Buddy is gonna get the
CBA is gonna be messy.
Speaker 2 (01:14:30):
Oh boy, you know I I I don't watch it.
I just don't watch it. It's it's gonna be nasty.
Oh yeah, it's gonna be bad.
Speaker 4 (01:14:43):
Like it's gonna make NFL negotiations look like a like
a like simple why.
Speaker 3 (01:14:48):
Like does it do revenue? Like is it?
Speaker 4 (01:14:50):
Uh? Well, some things like it doesn't. They don't make
a ton of money. I don't think they make any
money now, but they probably will in the future. And
the evaluations for teams are like through the roof, like
two fifty three hundred million dollars for these teams now.
And the CBA commission I mean the WM commissioner seems
like she has no idea what she's doing. The players
are not gonna settle for anything less than what they want,
(01:15:13):
and it's just gonna be I think it's gonna be
really a nasty negotiation.
Speaker 3 (01:15:17):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:15:18):
Yeah, Well it's hard because if you're not generating revenue,
but people believe in the product from an investment standpoint,
so the correct asset is worth a lot. You know,
how does that, you know, go into the player's pockets
if you're not actually generating hard revenue.
Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
Yeah, so I'm curious see what happens. But they said
one of their best players call out the commissioner in
like a four minute rant. I don't know if you
saw it the other day. Was that made its way
around the internet, and you shan't see that very often.
It would be like the equivalent of one of the
better quarterbacks the NFL just going on a four minute
rant about Roger Goodell, which you don't see very hard,
proper ripped. Well, he told me get the f out
(01:15:58):
of his locker. Sure, but Baseball, look we know this,
we you know, the Baseball Union is very strong. I'm
jealous of that, the Baseball Union. And you know they
they've had the stones to sit out before, which.
Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
Is really hard.
Speaker 4 (01:16:13):
We already do uh. And they get what they want
because they've been willing to do that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
What what happens? This can of worm is gonna open
and go open soon.
Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
When these billionaires start to buy up college programs, was
just already starting to happen, like there's there's there's already discussions.
Speaker 4 (01:16:34):
The private equity stuff with the Big Ten. Yeah, you know,
I think that's I think a little bit alarming. Is
you know, private equity firms they buy up things all
the time and ruin them. So I don't the Big Ten.
The news this week was the Big Ten conference is
(01:16:55):
gonna look to private equity firm for to raise some money.
I think two billion dollars as they said. And the
question is why, right, you already make a lot of
money from your TV deal. I guess you know schools
can't afford the house settlement, right, that's certainly fair enough
for that. But I just think, you know, venttro capitalism
in college sports is going to ruin it. Not this year,
(01:17:17):
not next year, but eventually, you know, I metro capitalism
is coming to pro sports too. My financial advisor called
me a month ago. I was like, Hey, there's this
company that is investing in professional teams, NFL teams, hockey teams,
NBA teams. They have a fund. Do you want to
be part of it? I said yes, I mean they
own these leaves. Just make money. I'll make money eventually,
(01:17:41):
but this is what's happening, man, these these VC these
companies are going into pro sports now and uh giving
you know, giving cash to these pro sports and college
sports teams, and I don't know if it's gonna end
up being a good thing in the end.
Speaker 2 (01:17:55):
Well, the college things to be different just because of
how you what's the comp for the player?
Speaker 3 (01:18:02):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:18:03):
Like, well, I just don't know. I guess that to
your point, You're right, Like I don't. Like in pro sports, obviously,
if you own a part of a team, there's a
return every year, right because you make money. What's the
return for venture capitalists to or productly firm the same thing?
I guess to what's the return on college football? Is
the question I think we all have. And I don't
(01:18:26):
know what the answer is other than getting a kind
of profits, Like I don't I don't know, I don't know.
I don't know what you get from it.
Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
Well that the model the bizmod now and it's already starting,
Like inquiries are being made about Like I could see
a world where owners, whether they leased a program or buy,
I don't know how they'll kind of structure the deal,
but where they'll get the controlling interest of a program.
Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
I mean you can see it's that you know, you go.
Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
To school, I mean you're a lot of wealthy people.
Then you graduate from school and you go to org.
Speaker 4 (01:19:05):
It's an example that I guess with Nike. But the
thing is the booster involved is as is deeply passionate
about the school. So the decisions are made in at
you know, with the idea of winning a number one goal,
where a VC is probably just cares about return on investment,
(01:19:26):
not really doing things the right way, if that makes sense.
Like looking about organ the superpower of organ guys, it's
not the money, right, It's it's how they manage the money.
It's they make the right decision every time on what
to do with their money. And they make the right
decision on how to market their program, advertise their program,
(01:19:47):
how to how to build facilities, how to hire coaches
all not not just football coach, by the way, basketball, baseball, softball.
They That's a superpower is the organization and the people
behind the seats. It's not the money. Play of schools
have much. Oregon does it better than anyone else with
the infrastructure and how they and how they use the
money and spend it.
Speaker 2 (01:20:08):
You're sounding like a prideful man. I respect that we
do though we do no, I believe it. I believe it,
but like you say, it was such passion I have
fries almost win a championship. Well, i'll see big al
we're coming up next. Don't go anywhere fellas on Fox.
Speaker 1 (01:20:32):
Don't listen to Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):

(01:21:17):
let's go big College Football Saturday. As always, it is
week six in college football.
Speaker 3 (01:21:25):
I know man slowed down going by too fast, Jeff
not if he's not your team is good.
Speaker 4 (01:21:31):
I'm like, I'm, I'm I'm I'm excited.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
How you should be. I used to have been giddy
all morning.
Speaker 2 (01:21:38):
Uh you just join us, man, My boy was fired
up a lot of duck love going on to the
show today. Uh, here we go Kentucky and Georgia. We
told you that a little bit. Georgia's your twenty point
favorite against Kentucky. They get do they take their frustrations
(01:22:00):
out losing Alabama last week on Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (01:22:04):
Yeah, Kentucky is not very good. I think this will
be a I'm not lame the twenty, but I think
Georgia will handle business in this game.
Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
Yeah, I gotta you got asm man south Side Chuck,
who's a big time Kincuk Kentucky fan.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
He's the conference they've lost lost South Carolina thirty five
thirteen and Old Miss thirty twenty three.
Speaker 2 (01:22:29):
That game was only defense. Is normally your defense is
pretty good, but not this year. No, you're right, Uh,
I was Iowa State. Cincinnati brain likes Cincinnati in the game.
Speaker 4 (01:22:42):
That's very Cincinnati is a favorite of Sharp's. This week
they are on Cincinnati heavy. I always it's missing both
their cornerbacks. Cincinnati's offensive better than we expected this season.
This game is in Cincinnati. We saw last weekend. You
know a lot of road ranked road favorites since I
(01:23:03):
always stay you know, struggled a little bit in these spots,
and they're barely for their favorite by just a point
and a half right now. So I don't have a
plan on this one. But I know a lot of
sharp people on the Bobcats.
Speaker 3 (01:23:16):
Well, you're right, and the brain is one of them.
Speaker 2 (01:23:18):
He loves Cincinnati, Michigan, Wisconsin Michigan seventeen and a half,
Big noon kickoff today on Fox.
Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
A lot of.
Speaker 4 (01:23:32):
A lot of people on Michigan in this game, Pulligin's
off of by Wisconsint corback situation not great. I took
a Wisconsin under thirteen and a half points in this
game at at Michigan. I just don't think Wisconsin scored
very much in this one. Michigan again bright Underwoods getting
better the truefessional quarterback, and I think that he'll have
(01:23:56):
a decent game today. But I think Wis Conscin is
offensively really I mean Maryland, Maryland gave it to them,
and Maryland's okay, not great, but they gave it to them.
They're bad at Alabama. I just I don't think. I
think Fickles probably not long for this job after the season. Unfortunately,
everyone thought it was a great higher. I think he's
still coach, but just not going well.
Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
Wisconsin Illinois eight and a half at Purdue.
Speaker 4 (01:24:21):
Yeah, I I love the boiler Makers today in this,
in this not to win to cover. I'll give you
a couple of reasons why so produce off a bye
And I think they have a good coaching staff with
with Bury Odom and I think that you know, just
that that's a positive, right when you have good coachest
half off of bye. Yes, Illinois, though, this is like,
this is the thing about college football. We don't see
(01:24:43):
this in the NFL really ever. Is this idea of
a trap game? Right?
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (01:24:47):
This is as trapp as that comes. So Illinois ghess
to Indiana gets blasted. But a primetime game, right, huge
game for them? And they host USC but nu koff
last week another primetime like big matchup, right next weekend?
Guess who comes to town next weekend? You know, off
top of I know who it is, just asking you
who comes to town? Who comes Illinois next weekend? Is
(01:25:08):
jo Ohio State? Ohio State? Correct? But you pick off
again And here's a little old Purdue on the road.
Gotta go to Purdue. Very good. This is as trappy
as it comes. Man, I took Purdue plus five and
a half for the first half. What might might prevail
over sixty minutes and win and cover this game? But
(01:25:29):
this is like, this is one of those like you
just surviving events of here, Illinois.
Speaker 3 (01:25:34):
Yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
Uh, Boston College and pitt Pit six and a half.
The brain likes Boston College.
Speaker 4 (01:25:42):
Okay, I don't have I don't have much for this game.
Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
Yeah, okay, just giving you a hedge up the Belichicks.
Speaker 4 (01:25:51):
This is so funny, dude.
Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
The Belichicks hosting Clemson. Clemson a one to three team
favored by fourteen and a half on.
Speaker 4 (01:26:01):
The road, and I think they roll so Carolina. I
don't know if you watched much of that UCF Charlotte
game last night.
Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
Yeah, by the way, can I ask you a question
off for that game?
Speaker 4 (01:26:13):
Yea?
Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
What was South Florida doing at the end of the
game running a Harry up.
Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
Score a touchdown? But you're whatever?
Speaker 4 (01:26:23):
Yeah, So I'm glad you mentioned I was actually was
just texting with someone about this like an hour ago.
I think coaches know the points spread more than ever now,
and uh, I think that they try to make their
booster some money then of these games. That's my only explanation.
Speaker 3 (01:26:41):
For the line.
Speaker 4 (01:26:42):
Yeah yeah, they covered by half a point with that touchdown. Wow,
and now they're as with it now. To be fair,
they should have covered. Anyways, they played a terrible game
last night and started five hundred turnovers, penalties, missed fourth down.
Charlotte is bad and Caroline that struggle to beat Charlotte.
So I actually think that coaches, I mean, Lane talks
(01:27:04):
about all the time. We know that, but I think
coaches they're they're they're they're aware of what's of of uh,
and I think that's what happened. And then again, so
I South Florida minus twenty seven half, so I'll take it.
But uh, this morning on the campus of North Carolina,
Ludacris is performing. And what's funny about this situation is
(01:27:25):
they brought in Ludacris to perform, uh for the Carolina
fans against Clemson. I'm thinking it was going to be
an important night game. I guarantee they thought the game
would be seven thirty eastern ESPN, ABC. Instead it's at noon.
So Ludacris is performing at nine forty five am this morning.
If I if I get off here at by nine o'clock,
(01:27:47):
I could probably be there to see the last the
last of a set. How funny is that, dude ninety
five in the morning Luda's performing for the North Carolina fans.
Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
That you're you're you're right, You're right.
Speaker 2 (01:28:00):
It has to be and they expected it to be
a big time night game.
Speaker 4 (01:28:05):
Absolutely. Yeah. Have you have you been there much? I
don't no, not, but actually been up the triangle like ever? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:28:14):
Uh you do that?
Speaker 4 (01:28:18):
I mean clenching doesn't get right against them?
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
Sure?
Speaker 4 (01:28:23):
Yeah, yeah, this is a this is a if. Yeah,
this is really a game. I think to see if
if Dabble still has the locker room or not, because
this is their off of by everyone's saying they stink,
because they do. They're one and three, the worst start
they've had maybe in the Dabble era. And if they
can't if this is not a game where you get
the full effort and like the offense is clicking sort of,
(01:28:43):
I think you have to question whether he's lost the
locker room or not.
Speaker 2 (01:28:47):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, look, they should destroy this team.
Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
They should. This is it. I mean they got they
got blown out by UCF. Oh. I know, well, anyway,
good game k State and Baylor.
Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
It should be fun.
Speaker 3 (01:29:05):
The brain likes k State just so you know.
Speaker 4 (01:29:09):
Yeah, kse State sort of recovered from the early swoon
they had here. They couldn't couldn't win a game early
this season, the Dublin curse for Kansas. I don't have
much on this one, but if the brain likes k
State plus five and a half, take ky State.
Speaker 3 (01:29:25):
All right now?
Speaker 2 (01:29:26):
The three thirty games Eastern twelve, thirty, Pacific, Penn State, UCLA,
Penn State.
Speaker 4 (01:29:33):
Have Penn State big in this game?
Speaker 3 (01:29:35):
Might I might?
Speaker 4 (01:29:36):
I might all wine this game, to be honest with you.
So a couple of things here. Penn State, James, I'll
start with this. James Franklin historically has been really good
in these games where they just dominate bad teams. Now,
it didn't happen earlier this season. They're owed to four against
the spread, which is wild. Now part of that is
Villanova scored late. We talked about that game before. A
(01:29:56):
couple but a couple of things that the matter in
this game. One is James Franklin said this week it's
good to get out of town. I think they're looking
forward to just not being home this week after what happened,
I guess. I mean they were fans chanting fire Franklin
during the Organ game, right yeah, and they knew the
gravity of that game. So they're out of town. I
know that some of their coaching staff was not happy
(01:30:19):
with their overall performance on their team, and I think
this is They're gonna try to get right in this game.
And the Bruins absolutely stink. They're fan duel this week
was offering UCLA under one and a half wins, okay,
under one and a half wins minus two to eighty.
Speaker 3 (01:30:41):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
Wow, they fired their head coach, their OC, their DC.
They struggled against Northwestern this past week. They lost to
Northwestern by three. It was seventeen nothing a halftime. They
came back in the second half.
Speaker 4 (01:30:54):
I think Penn State takes all their right and if
they don't, If Penteic does not win this game by thousand,
it's a bad side for for the culture of that team. Uh,
the Rose Wolves is gonna be dead. They're called. They asked,
they asked for a blue out, the Bruins did. It's
not gonna happen. I got Penn State man is twenty
four and a half. I mean, Penn State roles in
this game. They's for a blue out. Yeah, the Bruins did. Yeah,
(01:31:16):
this is embarrassing.
Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (01:31:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:31:20):
And my parents are Bruin alum as. I grew up
going to I've been a fifty Bruin games. We had
seen tickets as a kid. It's yeah, the program right now. Yeah,
that's a shame. Yeah, that's a shame.
Speaker 3 (01:31:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:31:31):
Well they're firing like they're flying like fire. The A
D signs today over the Rose Bowl. It's gonna be bad.
Speaker 3 (01:31:43):
Yeah yeah, I mean what is it now?
Speaker 2 (01:31:47):
USC should be on them on the recovery train because
they had a good recruiting class.
Speaker 4 (01:31:55):
Well that's for that's for next season. That's what I mean. Yeah,
like they should. But I think they're I think that
they're soft. So I don't think that only matters who
they bring it. I don't think. I don't think. I
think they're They're not a program built to beat Oregon,
Ohio State. Penn State was not can't win a road
game out of California. Look at Riley. Some absurd number
like two and thirteen gets a spread out of the
(01:32:16):
state California, which is just atrocious.
Speaker 3 (01:32:18):
It's crazy, It's bad, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
Uh, Texas and Arch go to Florida the one in
three Gators, but then they're.
Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
Catching five and a half man.
Speaker 2 (01:32:34):
This one has got I think this one could be
trouble for for Holcombe.
Speaker 4 (01:32:40):
Can Lagway do anything on offense?
Speaker 3 (01:32:42):
I know if he could, they can win the game.
Speaker 4 (01:32:45):
I absolutely agree with you. If if this the total
is like forty one, which is insanely low for college game,
insanely low. If at a game involving Texas, dude, like
check correct. If Lagway could just give them something for
is gonna win this game? I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (01:33:06):
They gets a tough spot for Arch in the swamp.
Oh yeah, Vandy and.
Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
Alabama last year the gold Post going down Broadway.
Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Now bab eleven and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:33:24):
I think Bama trucks them.
Speaker 3 (01:33:26):
Yeah I do too. I feel the same thing. Yeah,
it's number ten versus number sixteen.
Speaker 4 (01:33:32):
I didn't look. Last year was a very fun game,
like a cool you know the vanner Bit won that game.
You ain't gonna catch Bama by surprise in this game. No,
and you're just not as good. Now go to meet
that's called trooble doesn't mean you're gonna win or lose
a game. But Bama got confidence last week, and they
also won a game in Georgiah. They didn't score in
the second half. So in the meetings this week, like
(01:33:54):
the bor is obviously selling like finish, we gotta finish,
we gotta finish, like the things to work on even
after you win. And so I think, I think, I
think Al Bama trucks.
Speaker 3 (01:34:02):
I do like Pavia, I I do like he's a
great he's a great story.
Speaker 4 (01:34:05):
Great player, like you know, great college player. I just
still think Bama trucks them.
Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
I agree. I think you're right. I think it's a
it's a I think they pound them. I'm with you,
there's no way after what happened last year. Agreed, there's
no way. No Irish hosting Boise. He had not the
Irish all they their.
Speaker 4 (01:34:28):
Offense is ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (01:34:30):
Yeah, they just get you chunks of yardage.
Speaker 4 (01:34:33):
I think this is also a trucking. I think I think,
uh the is gonna score a ton of points in
this game.
Speaker 3 (01:34:41):
I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (01:34:43):
I love the Notre Dame offense. Let me ask you
a question, though, uh their defense. Let's let's fast work,
because they're gonna run the table or get close to it.
I think they're a playoff team. Can their defense win
a playoff game?
Speaker 1 (01:34:59):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:35:00):
All right, now, way but against a top But I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
Just talking about in general, like that defense. Can that
defense win a playoff game?
Speaker 3 (01:35:09):
That's no point? No, yeah, I fear that, you're right, yeah, right, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:35:19):
Let's go further down, and how about how about the
old Maryland Washington game at three?
Speaker 4 (01:35:25):
I think that's a three thirty as well. I think
Maryland wins a game. They're six and a half point
maybe five and a half point dogs. Now I think
they win the game out right, So Washington, I do
hate Washington, but I also think that they're a fuz team.
They played four games so far this season. Do me
punts they've forced our defense so far this season? I think,
(01:35:46):
I guess I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (01:35:48):
How about like how many games? Hold on? How many games?
Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
Now four, they're four there because they're three one. Yeah,
how many punchs have they forced in four games? I'll say, becauothes,
it's got to be ridiculously low number. I'll say six. Well,
it's it's thirteen. But that's like that's like seventh least
in the country.
Speaker 3 (01:36:10):
Though, well that's rom Like my old point is normally
I would say thirty.
Speaker 4 (01:36:14):
But you know, thirty is actually a lot. Oregon's forced
like thirty three. They're like number two through the flood country. Yeah,
but my point, I'm just giving you the way you
said it, you framed it. That's why I know what
I did. I just think that their their defense is
like ninetieth and stop rates. It's not it's just not
a good defense. And Maryland's off of by Malik Washington,
(01:36:36):
the young true freshman really good so far, Locksley, I
give him a ton of credit. Man, the Maryland hed coach,
he said, like, we got to get we got to
get better. We have to get rid of the cancer
room lockers, locker room cancers, like I gotta do better
job as a coach, and he has Man, So I
think Maryland when that came out.
Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
Right, Okay, okay, I don't have an opinion on that one.
Nebraska and Michigan State. I like the Nebraska a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:37:01):
In this game.
Speaker 4 (01:37:02):
I love everything for that. No, I think they're better
than Michigan State. But I you know, I have my
I have my my awards with Nebraska.
Speaker 3 (01:37:12):
Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
I just think that I don't think Michigan State has
got an offense that I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (01:37:20):
Yeah, so think there is a mismatch and you got
what else we got before we get to the big one.
Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
A and M.
Speaker 3 (01:37:29):
Mississippi State. Man, ain't M sixteen and a half over
miss State.
Speaker 4 (01:37:37):
It's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
It is Doesn't it feel like it's too many?
Speaker 4 (01:37:42):
Probably?
Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
Yeah, Like I'm going, man, I think and I think
am M is good. I like them, but man, that's
a lot of points Mississippi. Mississippi State is not a
bad team. Man, No, it's a lot of points. I'm
just looking at it. I mean, you know, tough game.
You have a off loss against Tennessee. Is there a
bit of a hangover piece? Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:38:05):
Maybe?
Speaker 4 (01:38:06):
But I think a lot of short people are A
and M today.
Speaker 3 (01:38:09):
M TCU Colorado.
Speaker 4 (01:38:14):
Yeah, TCU is one of my best bets of the
week as well.
Speaker 3 (01:38:17):
I was about to say the same thing. I love
TCU wreck Colorado.
Speaker 4 (01:38:22):
That's gonna be bad. Look, uh, Dion, it's just not
as good without his son and Travis Hunter.
Speaker 3 (01:38:32):
It's that simple.
Speaker 4 (01:38:33):
I don't know what I mean. I could make a
long siloquy about this TCU's off of three turnover loss
in Arizona State or was at home. I just think
they're gonna play much better tonight. I just don't touch.
I don't trust Colorado on the road in this spot
at all.
Speaker 3 (01:38:49):
No, I think I think TCU is pretty nasty too. Man.
Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
Either they're good. They're a good, decent, good team. Yeah,
they're not great, but they're a good team. I agree,
I think they're decent.
Speaker 3 (01:38:58):
Yeah. I like Kansas too, Jail.
Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
I've been Jaalen Daniel's guy at UCF tonight as well.
Now the big one Miami Florida State, So let's talk
about it. Let's go quarterbacks first, Let's talk about Beck
and let's talk about Castellanos.
Speaker 4 (01:39:23):
So what's your initial reaction. MYOSI reaction is Miami woods
and covers this game. I think the advantage of having
the trenches is is big. I think their physical style
of play and their ability to just have more ways
to win it's super important in this game. Castellanos this
(01:39:46):
season has complete only forty five passes. Well, let's seventy
seventy passes in four games, which is not a lot.
I just don't I just don't know if if he's
good enough to win this game in Miami's defense shows up,
but I think they will. And this game obviously matters
to Miami a lot because it's another game against a
Florida team. It's a it's a game for recruiting, it's
(01:40:07):
a game, you know, a physical game on the road.
And I just don't buy Florida State being good enough
despite beating Alabama this season, and they're and they're at home.
I don't expect them to win this game. I I
really don't. I know the road thing matters, It's absolutely does,
but I think Miami is the better team. I think
physically over the sixty minutes, they'll control this game.
Speaker 2 (01:40:30):
Especially. The reason why I like Miami is I just
like their defense so much better. Deir front is is
is smothering. I just think they're it's incredible rude. So
I just stay they gay after Like listen, I love
Costellanos and you know, thest fun guy.
Speaker 3 (01:40:52):
But he's a fun. But here's the other thing too,
Miami's a different beast last year. Miami's different.
Speaker 4 (01:41:02):
Man. We're also the point too, right, It's just like
people just Omara Christ want a big game he's one
enough big games now, please stop that, please?
Speaker 3 (01:41:10):
Right? I agree?
Speaker 2 (01:41:14):
All right, let's take a quick too. We'll come back
and we'll shift to the NFL. We go game by game,

Speaker 2 (01:42:11):
Kickoff presented by BETGM every Saturday and Sunday morning right
here on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (01:42:19):
All right, buddy, let's.
Speaker 2 (01:42:22):
Go back to the NFL because we both like Miami
in a big way. Now, let's go back to NFL
action tomorrow early on. And by the way, let me
just pull the brains selections up here so you have
them the brain because he is in Las Vegas right
now and he doesn't want to get up fair.
Speaker 3 (01:42:45):
So here you go. He likes.
Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
Denver under, the Chargers Vikings minus three and a half,
Vikings under in the first half, the Jets money line,
the Seahawks minus three and a half, the Ravens plus
two and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:43:08):
I don't know. I mean that was last night.
Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
I mean Lamar, we knew Lamar was out, the Raiders
plus seven, the Saints had to pick your nose, and
the Bills minus seven and a half. Those are his selections,
just show you know. He also has Toronto in the
baseball So those are the brains picks. Let's go through
(01:43:30):
the games we started. We didn't give a pick. Eagles
in Denver, and this could be a trap game for
the I mean a tough game for the Eagles with
a struggling offense.
Speaker 4 (01:43:40):
Yeah, I uh, I think the Eagles cover this game.
I just I don't like Denver right now. You know,
you look at I think you know offensively, Bo Nicks
just hasn't taken the next step, and a short week
(01:44:01):
on the road, you can make the case that Philly's
off a pretty tough physical win. You know, what are
they going to be like in this game and get
up at the NFL and this team just continues to
sort of grind away. Denver's defense has not been as
good as we thought this season. I think so far
they could be obviously better. The thing that I like
most of this game is just take the A. J.
(01:44:22):
Brown receptions over. I mean, he complained a couple weeks
ago the Rams game, he had a bunch of receptions.
I think that's the way to play this. Just take
AJ Brown over.
Speaker 2 (01:44:31):
Receptions be interesting because Denver's got a great secondary.
Speaker 4 (01:44:37):
Yeah yeah, no, I don't know, I know, but I
mean he's gonna hurts.
Speaker 1 (01:44:42):
Well.
Speaker 4 (01:44:42):
I think we'll find a way to get get get
Brown the ball, Like they'll they'll run some screens from
like They'll find way to just get to get him
the ball. That's why I like receptions more than I
like the yards.
Speaker 2 (01:44:50):
Yeah, it makes sense. Yeah, all right, let's go to
Cowboys and Yets. Cowboys laying one and a half. The
brain likes the Jets in this game.
Speaker 3 (01:45:06):
I like the over in this game.
Speaker 4 (01:45:08):
I can look for right now. It was forty seven
and a half. The Cowboys defense is bad. So the
Cowboys are number thirty two in the NFL and yards allowed,
but also a number in the NFL and yards gained
that they're They're very good at offense now with with
Dak Prescott Man Dak over the years man, they've been
really good on offense when he has been healthy, and
(01:45:28):
nothing about that is any different this season. Obviously Lamb
is out for a little while longer, but with Pickens
and whatnot, they've done a really good job. The Jets offensively,
look it's fields, right, but they have a ton of weapons.
They do. They can get them the ball. They can
get their weapons the ball. We have seen quarterbacks dice up.
(01:45:49):
The Cowboys allowed thirty seven in the Giants right in regulation,
thirty seven to the Packers in regulation. They have been gassed.
So yeah, yeah, forty overtime. I was a kid of overtime.
But yeah, I mean the Jets. The Jets can do it.
The problem with backing the Jets, like the brain is
doing and something you have to take your emotion out
of this and certainly this is more of an emotional
(01:46:09):
thing than a numbers thing. This team is so undisciplined
right now. Penalties, turnovers, mental mistakes. It's just hard to
back a team like that in any situation. And so
that's the only concern about the Jets in this game.
But I think that it's not. I'm not it would
(01:46:30):
be the Jets are passed for me, But just the
concern is again like the little things, that Jets are
not doing very well right now.
Speaker 2 (01:46:38):
Yeah, especially you know, it was such a tough emotional
game for the Cowboys last week. I mean it was yeah, yeah,
because the Parsons thing. Yeah, the Parsons thing. I thought
Dak played great football last week.
Speaker 4 (01:46:53):
Doc is good man.
Speaker 3 (01:46:54):
He got the ball out man, I mean he was
he got the ball out fast. He played great last week. Yeah,
and that's what No CD, that was impressive.
Speaker 2 (01:47:06):
Uh. Raiders and Colts Indiana Jones home against the Raiders.
Speaker 4 (01:47:13):
Yeah. I actually like the Raiders to cover this game.
Cover the seven. Uh there's still seven. I gotta look.
Speaker 3 (01:47:19):
Yeah, the brain, the brain likes the like. The likes
them too.
Speaker 4 (01:47:22):
Yeah, sort of just like a classic sort of like Spot.
I think that you know, in the NFL where the
Raiders are not are not playing well, right, They're one
and three uh not looked terribly good last couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (01:47:36):
Well you got gent galling too. That could be a
good thing for him.
Speaker 4 (01:47:39):
So that's why so Gent finally got going a little bit.
They sort of settled on an offensive line rotation, which
is important. But also this is sort of a do
or die game for them as far as what they
want to be this season. You go to you go
to one and four, man, you got no chance. And
the Colts defense is they don't They're they're under long.
(01:48:00):
Numbers are not great, man, their efficiency numbers are not good.
And they played a really weak schedule so far. And
so Gino Smith a big game for him as far
as just getting things back on track. He's inside, he
plays better inside. I wouldn't be surprised that this was
a field goal game, very very late in this game
that could say I'm on the Raiders plus seven.
Speaker 2 (01:48:23):
Uh. There's a couple of games this week. YEA Miami
against Carolina. Obviously, Dolphins lose Tyreek Hill, They're a mess.
The Panther stink.
Speaker 4 (01:48:39):
I am on the Panthers unfortunately again, I just can't
quit this team. They have no identity, which which really
concerns me offensively. But this is more of just a
straight Dolphins fade.
Speaker 2 (01:48:54):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:48:54):
I mean, the Dolphins off a short week, right, they
won a game no Tyreek Hill, so the offense will
look much different because they don't have anyone to stretch
the field anymore. They just don't. And again, the Panthers
are sort of in desperation mode for this game. So
I'll back the Panthers here. Don't let me agree with that.
Don't don't love it, but.
Speaker 3 (01:49:13):
Uh, if I picked if either back one team.
Speaker 4 (01:49:16):
And also there's also a lot of evidence and history
to show when you lose by thirty, you play better
than next week. Shocking, shocking. You can tell that would
be the case, and the Panthers lost by thirty. So
I think the Panthers just putt much better.
Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
Yeah, I listen, I would agree, and I man, I,
I just don't think two has got anything left he he.
Speaker 4 (01:49:39):
You think it's first rid away He's done. Now that
you can't now that you don't have anyone to stretch
the field with Tier kill by the way very quickly.
So uh, that injury obviously is a terrible and uh,
and it's it's maybe career ending. It's a bad injury.
Just okad me. There's like two injuries besides obviously, like
the spine right, or like what happened to DeMar Hamlin.
The two orthopedic injury that are very bad articilcated knee
(01:50:02):
and achilles there right and uh and he discarded his
knee and I saw him, you know, the cart he
was laughing and smiling. Dude, when you get hurt, I've
been carved off many times unfortunately.
Speaker 3 (01:50:15):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
You just like.
Speaker 4 (01:50:18):
Your emotions are weird, like you smile, you laugh, You
kind of just like some guys cry, some guys put
toll over their head. You know, when you have an
injury like that, you're in shock. You have a huge
bit of adrenaline. You don't even know how to react. Sometimes.
I remember I got a picture of myself like a
smiling on of cars. My my ankle's destroyed. I you
don't even remember you're doing it. I thought it was
(01:50:38):
kind of weird people the reaction people had to him,
you know, acting like that while he was trying to process,
you know, this terrible injury that just happened.
Speaker 3 (01:50:46):
To him exactly. You got me.
Speaker 4 (01:50:48):
I mean, some people are ridiculous, and again you might
not like him for other reasons, and that's totally fair.
Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
Yeah, that's different rights.
Speaker 4 (01:50:57):
No, but like that that reaction was I thought, act,
he's pretty normal for the injury that he just had.
Speaker 2 (01:51:03):
Uh, Seattle and Tampa, this is a good one probably,
you know, buddy, this is odd.
Speaker 4 (01:51:09):
I am. I'm on Tampa and I think I think
I'm on the wrong side. Even though I like Tampa,
this number makes no sense to me. I just don't
think that they're three and half points better than Tampa Bay.
I So I'm not.
Speaker 2 (01:51:23):
But I do think injuries kinda I mean they've been
banged up. I mean they've been through it.
Speaker 4 (01:51:33):
Yeah. Their offensive line, though, is like healthier.
Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
Now, well you got what you got. What's his name
was bet Worf's.
Speaker 4 (01:51:40):
Where was the back? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:51:41):
Yeah, that was it.
Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
But you were able to fix a couple of spots, right,
So you know, you got your center back at center
not attack a right, so you're able to kind of
fix some spots.
Speaker 4 (01:51:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:51:54):
I just think though I like Seattle in this game,
I actually like him a lot, I think it's a
bad spot for Tampa I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:52:02):
Just like not really in on Seattle yet. I I
just I'm not in on them yet. I know analytically
they're a darling and whatnot, but uh, I'd much rather
have Tampa also to like one thing about backing Tampa
Bay and so I had Tampa last week as well,
it didn't it didn't get home. As we know, is
like they're going to fight till last second. And I
(01:52:24):
kind of like being on a team that will do that,
Like I feel good, like even if they don't win
the game, like they're going to fight to a last
breath to cover, not to cover this game, but to
get close right right, And so I like backing teams
that that that are like that.
Speaker 3 (01:52:39):
Yeah I agree, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:52:44):
I do think it's a it's a difficult spot for them,
and I could see Seattle. I love they're close, Like
the game against Arizona got weird.
Speaker 4 (01:52:57):
But football, I don't take much away from those that football.
Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
No, no, sure, short week, the whole thing, but Seattle
looks close to like really like in that game they
look close to pop and at times they can look
really good. Oh yeah yeah, all right, we gotta take
a quick to you our girl, Brie is telling us,
thank you, Bree, we will comply. We'll come back finish
(01:53:22):
the rest of the games as we hang out, thanks
to Brianna and the Mighty Mark. Great job, guys, Fellas,
be back just a moment, don't go anywhere. Welcome back,
Fellas and Jeff, what's your before we get back to
(01:53:43):
the games. What are your plans? I know, you get
the kids. What are your plans between today tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (01:53:50):
Watching on the watching football? That's what I'm planning to do.
Speaker 3 (01:53:53):
You're gonna stick it some baseball?
Speaker 4 (01:53:56):
Yeah, I'll put some baseball on, but not like not
mean TV. You know, I just just really so playoffs
won't even today like it. I mean, it's fine. You'll
be out until three thirty essentially, and then we're going
to a friend's house tonight for dinner that I don't
(01:54:18):
know if they're gonna have baseball on.
Speaker 3 (01:54:19):
So that was just a couple sit down dinners like
to think.
Speaker 4 (01:54:25):
No, No, we have friends that moved from Sweden back
to the States, and so they have kids the same
age as our kids, so it's like a kid's like
a whole other kids thing. And I'll just pretty my
iPad with me and watch football. I don't. I don't
even care anymore. People. I don't care what they how
they if they judge me or not, like Jeff, like
they know what I'm what I'm doing, I don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
I'll just watch. So you'll say, like you won't, you won't. Now,
are the guys like your boys, Like there's another couple, yeah, yeah, yes,
good friend of mine. Yes, yeah, like so we like, look,
can you two disappear, watch game and have drinks?
Speaker 4 (01:55:00):
Yeah yeah, but I don't think he's I don't think
he's in the I don't know if he's in college
football like I am though that's the only thing. Okay,
but but yes we can absolutely because the kids. The
thing about you know this, like the kids will play
the four kids, my two and there too, like they'll
just play. Now there's they have two boys, I have
the daughter obviously, like, but they'll just play by themselves
like they're out.
Speaker 3 (01:55:19):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:55:20):
And then my wife and mall it will hang out.
And then Jeff and I don't hang out. It's another Jeff.
Speaker 3 (01:55:25):
Yeah, you and Jeff should be able to watch a
game and have a couple of drinks.
Speaker 4 (01:55:28):
By wait, very funny because I am six seven. He's
a six nine, Jeff. It's very funny to wow Jeff
to look up to him. Yeah, and I never never
had that happen to anybody. Yeah, So that's what I'm
doing tonight, and then tomorrow the usual, like, well, family
over to watch football, so I can you know, my
wife can enjoy the football Sunday.
Speaker 3 (01:55:47):
All right, here we go. Let's keep it going at
Titans and Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (01:55:52):
Yeah, I don't. I'm not gonna watch a second of
this game.
Speaker 3 (01:55:54):
I'll be honest. There's some big God, there's some big games.
My god. It is a good one. The Chargers and Commanders.
Speaker 2 (01:56:01):
No mcclarin, but you get Jayden Backs. I love the
Chargers in a game. Oh you do interesting? Yeah, I
think only the other side of you here, I am.
I'm very concerned the charge.
Speaker 4 (01:56:12):
Offensive line, buddy, it's a problem. Herbert has been pressured
forty five times. Forty five times the last two games
the Giants. With the Giants did yeah, well, the Giants
offense line. Obviously the defense lines is different than a
lot of you know, other teams can do. But that
does concern me. That's just it's just too many hits.
Speaker 3 (01:56:29):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:56:29):
It's just too much. It's too much, and so I
am I am worried that the Chargers are just too
beat up up front. I imagine the Commanders have a
little bit more juice on offense with Daniel's back, and
feel comfortable there. There's obviously not a home game. I mean,
you know, there'll be more Commanders fans and Chargers fans.
I feel like so I do lean Commanders here. They
(01:56:49):
were three, getting three would have been better than two
and a half. But I do the Commanders here.
Speaker 3 (01:56:54):
Yeah, I don't. I don't not love with that team.
Speaker 4 (01:56:58):
Oh I I yeah, have not looked as good as
they did last season. That's certainly.
Speaker 3 (01:57:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:57:04):
Lines in Bengals the most complete team so far as Detroit.
Speaker 4 (01:57:11):
Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to end up. I'm
gonna I bet I will be on the Bengals because
there's a couple of people that I fade when they
put their picks out, just automatic fades, And last year
it didn't work as well. But this year the fades
are back because the Squares are losing. I have the
feeling that I will be on the Bengals as a
fane of someone else, because they'll be on the Lions.
(01:57:33):
That's my guest. I'm not playing it myself, right, the fades, man,
you get to fade all of them. That's the way
it works. You gotta do all of them or do
none of them.
Speaker 3 (01:57:41):
Yeah, Bills and Patriots is a Sunday nighter.
Speaker 4 (01:57:46):
So what's interesting about the Bills is, you know, they
actually play the Patriots or so the Patriots playing the
Bills pretty close over the years, even though the Patriots
don't win the game. It kind of is always interesting
to me. But Buffalo is better. I mean, they're gonna
win the game. I'm not laying whatever eight and a
half it is, but I think Buffalo is gonna win
the game. They're just better. And that's okay, nothing wrong
(01:58:08):
with that.
Speaker 3 (01:58:09):

my man, today baseball will be on the main TV today. Okay,

Speaker 2 (01:58:44):
Today I want to I love October Baseball, and it's
like the first Saturday of the series, right, like like
the walk cart's cool, but now that you get really
good matchups, like you know, Cubs, Browers is great, Yankees, Jays, Phillies,
Dodgers obviously is my it's my hometown team. And then
Tiger's Mariners. So I'm like, I cannot wait. I'm gonna
(01:59:07):
be at the game on Monday night, Citizens Bank Park.
I gotta get you up here. For one, it's incredib
the theater is amazing. It is so it's it feels
like football. It looks incredible on TV. It does, and
I know that's like Philly fans obviously are fantastic, and
there's a whole you know, the whole complex there right that. Yeah,
(01:59:28):
there's all those stadiums and all the arenas altogether. I
think I would have very much enjoyed it well. And
it's also one of the reasons why I like the
Phillies in this series. I think it's gonna be a
great series, but I'll take the home team. Uh, I
think it's gonna be a pretty good one anyway.
