Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
No, let's go stinking genius coming down to the wire
on Sunday Night football.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Don't you do this again?
Speaker 4 (00:12):
No, I can't do it, and I can't do it anymore.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
I can't.
Speaker 4 (00:14):
I can't do it. Just when I thought I got
to my all time low, and it gets lower. I
I I feel like I'm an alcoholic living in the
streets in crash and burn and waiting to hit my
all time low.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
Every time I think it can't get any worse, it
gets worse. I mean, really, it's it's amazing. How do
you blow a seventeen point lead to the worst team
in the NFL, who has the worst starting quarterback in
the NFL, and you let some guy named doubt a Raiders?
Were were you let the verge for two hundred yards?
(00:50):
I mean, what my gosh, what are the berry Zanders
two two hundred yards? I can't do it anymore, man,
I just I can't do it anymore. You know, really
I should sue human resources. Why do I have to
work after my team loses?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Your lost like five hours ago, so I know plenty
of time.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
No, because you know what you and our listeners are
not as big of fans as I am. Okay, really
because it sticks with me. You shrug it off in
like thirty second Okay, well that's a loss. It doesn't
stick to you like like it sticks to me. It's
just it's crazy. I want to work Friday nights before
(01:32):
the games.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
That'd be great. I don't arrange that Friday nights for
you and I. You and I.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Gordon is on Sunday nights.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
No, no, you and I.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Yeah, I'm not going to Friday nights.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Why not?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Why not? I got too much going on, man, I
love our slot here.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
You can't be going on. You can't handle this. I'm
not you got My team got smoked and I'm here.
I'm excited to talk about it.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
So we could we could be in good moods on Friday,
talk about how our teams are gonna win a one
hundred to nothing, and then when someddening comes around, we
don't have to be around to face the music.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
I don't like it anymore, Arnie. All of our teams
today all lost. My my Seahawks lost today. The well yeah, okay, fine, fair,
but yeah, okay, because we're like.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
A show of losers. Seriously, I mean, how many. Look
at all, not only a our team losers, Look at
all the loser producers we had over the course of
the years. Right, Remember there was Danny g and his
raider fandom.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
Don't have to take this out on other people.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
You remember that other loser producer we had years ago
named Patrick? What about that guy? Here?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
You the idea of you calling people losers?
Speaker 4 (02:42):
But I thought you, I thought you were the new
producer named Pat. You never told me you were the
same producers before.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I think he's told you many times. My gosh, go ahead,
just go ahead.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
I just I can't do it anymore. I'm seriously, I
why can't I do what I know best? The relationship
ship sex a show? Seriously texted, now give me your age,
your weight and uh and how old you are and
Chris and I will determine what kind of guy you're
(03:13):
gonna be able to marry. That's coming up later today.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I can't wait for that anyway.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
I think that'd be fantastic. I think that'd be great.
I think that would be fantastic to.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Ask people for their weight anymore.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
On you, I told you Kevin Samuels used to do
it and doctor Ruth. She used to have a body
mouth for crying out loud. I just I can't come
every and every Sunday night. And the boss he's laughing.
He thinks it's funny when my team loses. You know why,
because his team loses all the time too. He's doing
(03:47):
he's the only.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Guy who is the Vikings.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Yeah, but they usually lose. How about that? What do
they owe for life in Super Bowls? I just I can't.
It's killing me this. Tell me?
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Can we get an update on the Sunday that football game?
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Are you gonna tell me? I got to wait another
year for football season for my Dolphins?
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Is that what I gotta do? I mean, that's up
to you. And we try to tell you about this,
but you just don't listen. I mean, again, this is
the same show we did last week, Scott. I apologize,
but I mean this is the exact same show.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
We had this game one though we didn't we had
we were gonna go to two and three. I was
ready to go. We're back in it. We're back, man,
We're back. We're gonna go ahead, make a run at
this thing. Two and three. We turned the corner. We
learned how to run an offense without Tyreek Hill and
then we just it just all fell apart. I just
I don't know what's good the chemistry tutors gotta go.
(04:40):
I thought he'd be fired by the time we got
on the air tonight. I really did. I I thought
there was like a fifty to fifty chance he was
gonna be gone, and and that's what we were gonna
talk about. I just can't do it anymore. I get
my team stink. I gotta have some hope. You've gotta
you gotta give me some just a morsel, damn cracker
even giving me nothing. I never have any hope. You've
(05:03):
given nothing. I gotta wait, brow So I gotta wait
eleven months now for football season? Is that what you're
telling me?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Well, I mean, if you want to go to the
Super Bowl, probably yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
If that's worse, you could be the Cardinals right now
after blown into the Titans.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Well that was pretty bad too. That was discussed at
least if we would have I would have called in
sick if that was the case. If if my team
would have lost like that where they dropped the ball,
I wouldn't have come in today. I would have said, no,
I'm sick. I can't do this today. I can't do
it ever. I can't.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
You would never miss a show that would I would
have missed. I probably would missed it, yeah, and I
don't think so. You probably would have probably would, but
I could.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
I wouldn't. I would be I'd be like physically ill
if my team lost like that, I'd be really see
but you doesn't. You shrug it off, you and the lizards,
and I shrug it off thirty seconds later.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
I'm in a good ges.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Those things of that nature gosh.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
But to me, I wear it on my jet and
if my Wildcats losing, it eats me up for years.
For crying out loud.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
I mean sorry, but you should be used to it
by now. This isn't anything new. You guys have kind
of sucked for a long time. So that's not I
don't that's that's when was your last playoff win?
Speaker 4 (06:20):
That's not the question.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
That's you guys exactly exactly the question. Fantastic or something.
We do this every show, Scott, I one in.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Four for crying out loud?
Speaker 2 (06:32):
One in four.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Do you understand we lost the Carolina the worst team
in the NFL with the worst starting quarterback Okay, the
second worst team in the NFL. I can't even say
the Titans anymore, right that, Look what the Titans did today, Well.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
I mean I still think that's pretty bad. I don't
think that you can say, oh, they won a game,
look at them. I still think they're pretty terrible.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
But at least they've got hope. They got they got
more hope than the Dolphins do.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Well. I mean, when you coming to the season projecting
a what was it, Patrick, I think like a fifteen
to two record. Do you want to know Do you
want to know how this is the easiest schedule in
the history of the NFL. Wait, when you set those expectations,
you're probably gonna find yourself disappointed.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
You want to know how stupid I am? When they
had a seventeen point lead, I actually looked up the
schedule to look, they play Cincinnati without their starting quarterback,
they played Baltimore without their starting quarterback. The schedule got easier,
We're going to the playoffs. Something should be I should
be examined. There's something wrong with me. Seriously, I just
(07:35):
I don't know why even give myself hope up seventeen
to nothing and you blow it to Carolina. I mean,
who blows the seventeen point lead to Carolina. There's gotta
be there. This's got to be their best comfort behind
victory in franchise history. For crying out loud.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Well, I mean it's it's not but it's it's not
a graduations. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
I don't know what to tell you except we tried
to you.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
We tried to give you a heads up the entire
offseason that hey, you might not be built for success
this year. And then you lose Tyreek Hill and that sucks.
But they finally got Jaye Waddle a little bit involved.
They showed some hooks, Bud, they showed some some juice
late whenever they needed to, but just not enough.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
I just stick with my bills now, okay, I just
want to talk about them.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Butfalo's driving. We've got three twenty nine left in the
football game as well, less than that, two fifty now
lefts in the football games twenty seventeen New England. Buffalo
is knocking on the door of the red zone. They
have it oooh they just was out a fumble, no
incomplete pass. They're knocking on the door of the red zone.
So it's gonna be second down to ten from the
(08:43):
twenty eight yard line of the Patriots, well within field
goal range. It's been a weird game. It got off
to a very defensive, sluggish start. Right Remandre Stevenson. I
don't know if they're gonna let him on the bus,
my guy, he's had a rough day. But it's ended
up being a pretty fun game. In the second half.
New England has gone to toe to toe with Buffalo.
(09:04):
It's still weird to see Buffalo in these unis. I
have missed all the stories around what it represents and
what it's supposed to mean. But uh, it's different. It's
kind of odd watching BLO but not a single thing
of I think Disager said it best. There's not a
single touch of blue on their jersey anywhere.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
I hate, I hate to admit this, but New England
has everything I wish Miami had. They have a young,
up and coming quarterback who's actually pretty good, better a
lot better than I thought he was gonna be. They
have that coach it, you know, that coach with that
style that I love. I love that attitude and you
know we're gonna heard all that stuff. I wish I
had a coach like that for crying out loud, and look,
(09:44):
they're playing Buffalo tough, and you know the they're the
type of team that's gonna teeter on eight nine, nine
and eight ten and seven, maybe make the playoffs. They
got they got a future. We've got We've got nothing.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
We got.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Yeah, And all's kind of funny because you've had several
New engl At fans who have been telling you that
all off season too, and you called them morons and idiots,
and yeah, I mean, it's just you haven't eat a
lot of crow and you're not handling this.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Well right now.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
So I completely and totally understand where you would be frustrated.
But again I go back to the fact that it's
your own fault.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
We don't even have a quarterback now, how about that?
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yeah too, that's your quarterback. That's your quarter That's what
you told us every single time I brought up, Hey
you worried about this, you're worried about Tua, you would say,
that's my quarterback. And you won on Monday night, so
I figured that's your quarterback. I mean, come on.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
I want another quarterback.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Well, there's not a lot available out there.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
I want another one. Give me a different one.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Well, which one do you want?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Do you want to go get Do you think they're
going to go get Kirka Cousins after they pay to
You've got your guy. You don't have another quarterback. By
the way, Buffalo lining up for a game tying field
goal prayed so far tonight is one for one. This
one one is well, you got that out right around
forty two yard forty five yard field goal attempt is
(11:07):
good and we're tied twenty all with two seventeen to
go in the football game. Paul writes off the tweets
early into the program, I'm exhausted just listening to Arnie
this first segment. Here's Johnny Arnie.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
But they don't care when their teams lose.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Well, he's a Bills fan, he's watched the game tonight.
Span your you're spazing out tonight, relax and taking edible.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Just tonight, Johnny, just tonight.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
This is my every night. And then Tigerman in Utah
writes age forty eight, wait three twenty seven height, five
foot two.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Okay, he needs to that's his stuff. He needs to
go to, you know, like to those foreign countries where
you can you know, where the girls are looking for
you. You know, you need to go there like Taiwan or something.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yeah, I see, this is why this segment would be terrible.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Why would it be so? Why would I think that'd
be good? That's gudge, that's good advising to it.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
What do you mean fled one week?
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Ind to it?
Speaker 4 (12:00):
All?
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Right? Listen, we got a lot to get to tonight
on the show, Todd Furman is back at a lot
of college It's a big week in college football. You've
got Texas this weekend. Indian Oregon is this weekend. You've
got I don't know. I think Arizona job Arizona this weekend.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
That's for the Big twelve Championship.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
I don't know if I'd quite go that far.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
I would, I would say that I would.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Why would you say that.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Well, Arizona wins, they don't have to play Texas Tech
and Utah, so they would probably be favored the rest
of the way out.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
That I don't think you're going to be favored the
rest of the way out. But I mean, why do
you do this to yourself? Scott? I want out. I
want out. I don't care. I mean, I just there's
got to be another show. There's got to be another
slot you're doing. This is the same thing you did
with Miami. You don't listen to any of us.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
We bring up facts and staff Arizona is four and one.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
Don't don't put what's going on with my wildcats and
this right?
Speaker 2 (12:54):
But then whenever there's one and they got smoked by
Iowa State, you want to pretend they're gonna be a
favorite in the football game.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Look, we beat Iowa, stayed up so badly. Look what
happened to them in this.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Yeah, that had nothing to do with Cincinna.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
I had to do with that for sure.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Yeah with Cincinnati. I mean guys, you guys probably won't
even be favored when you go to Houston. I doubt
you'll be favored when you go to Cincinnati.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Or BYU or like it's a two point spread.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Right, you are you favorite?
Speaker 4 (13:22):
I dig favorite under dog with there.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
It's two points, so you can stop it, stop it.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Just enjoy the game.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Don't be like, oh, we're going to the championship, We're
gonna win the title. If that happens, that happens. I
don't understand your your fandom. You want to braggle on
yourself and say you're a better fan than everyone else.
You're a lunatic. I got Arizona.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
You're a crazy person. I don't even have to wait.
I got Arizona by two or three touchdowns. That is.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Against BYU.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
That's right against by who?
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Right?
Speaker 3 (13:52):
I mean, no one's ever come up with that joke either.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Jim mcmahony walking through those doors.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Right, but their quarterback where is like number forty seven?
And he's he'll slice and dice your bad defense.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
What are the other great BYU quarterbacks? I'm forgetting that.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Blake keep Sarkejian, Robbie Boscobby, look at you. I mean
I cover college football for goodness sakes. I just don't
sit here and go, oh oh Columbus five and oh
bo shot up. We're gonna win every game. Wait, wait,
Texas might not text should even show up? Text should
even show Up'm a bigger fan than you are. You
know you should even show up this weekend?
Speaker 4 (14:23):
How many are you? You do get crabby when you
lose the Texas Oklahoma game?
Speaker 2 (14:27):
It's the Oklahoma Texas game. It's my fault, of course
I do. I mean, I get crabby. The Raiders are
terrible right now, but we have a show to do
shows tonight. My team's suckingness? How you hand?
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Maybe I should take advice from you because you handle
failure so well.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Uh well, because I fail a lot in life, Arnie.
That's why I'm just failure.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
I mean, like, I remember when I picked you to
do the show with me and and the boss, Like
you're sure you what this guy go? Look, I know
he does the farm report now, but he's fine. I'm
okay with him.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yeah, the farm report. See in Now you're.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Even count for three sheep? I'm like, dot they go?
Can you those scores? Give it to him? Let's go.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
You done?
Speaker 2 (15:09):

(15:31):
that's s t R a Uss dot com. Speaking of which,
I thought the Dodgers game was pretty good last night.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Jeez, how about that?
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I'm incredible aware that was a fun one. Now, what
is going on with the Yankees.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
Wow, how many they've been outscored? Now? What twenty two
to seven or nine or something like that. That's you
talk about your pitching going south. That's incredible. What's happening
to them? I bet it's not a good time out
of it. It won't be a timery Yankees state. And
that's rest.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
It was twelve to zero at one point in that game. Today,
I mean did rally a little bit. Yeah, they put
five on the board in the in the seventh, but
that was it. Twenty five combined hits between those two teams.
So baseball wise, if you need something to get your
mind because you're just not as big of a fan
as Arnie. Blue Jays won today thirteen to seven. Mariners
(16:23):
get their first playoff winning ages. Steve de Seger has
all the updates coming up here. When did my Dodgers
play again tomorrow? Uh?
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Yeah, that's right exactly. Got today off today.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
They're back in action tomorrow in Philadelphia at six eastern
five o'clock.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
I think Don Sutton TBS True TV.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Al Right, you got all your bad jokes out of
the way, Doug ground Player. Now all right, when we

Speaker 2 (17:35):
The Patriots with fifteen seconds left, I have taken a
lead on the Buffalo Bills twenty three to twenty. Bills
are out of timeouts after what looks like it could
be a game winning fifty two yard field goal, and
the Patriots are a well covered kick and what maybe
(17:56):
a hail Mary Away?
Speaker 3 (17:58):
I mean you got zero time out? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Fifteen seconds left from handing the Bills their first loss
of the season and probably cementing the Buffalo will never
wear these white uniforms like this.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Remember, all you have to do is get to maybe
midfield for a really long like sixty six sixty seven
yard kick.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
I don't know if that's prayed or though.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Okay, so maybe if you can run it back because
you're not gonna have much time to try to get
a near midfield after the kickoff, then maybe you'll have
one play before you do the kick.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
All right, so the kick return has gutten it upfield.
He's uh, yeah, they're not gonna get anywhere near midfield
on the kick return. They're gonna be the twenty six
yard line. Though there is a flag on it. So
twenty six yard line on the kick return for Buffalo. Yeah,
they're gonna barring this being a personal Now it's a
hold on Buffalo. So there you go at.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
The Bills are always won since I've been a billstand.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Well, I mean, you might just be an absolute curse
on everything else. That's just the way that you got
to look at it. Hey, of things we need to
get to tonight. Todd Forurhman again confirmed coming up next hour,
we'll talk a lot about Major League Baseballs. The numbers
that are coming in for the playoffs look pretty good.
And then I saw a weird thing last week where
(19:14):
several websites had a wrong spread and then it got adjusted.
I wonder, we'll have talk to Todd whenever you have books.
Didn't see you make a mistake. It was Tulsa. They
had Tulsa listed. It was like bet Rivers or someone
like that had Tulsa listed as a fourteen point I
think it was favorite, yeah over Memphis when Memphis was
the fourteen point favorite. And I just got to get
(19:35):
learned up on what happens, because if you make that bet,
it's your bet, right, they can't go back.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Oh no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
Sometimes they won't honor it. They'll say, oh really sometimes,
but I guess it depends on the size of your bet.
They'll just go ahead and do it. But some places,
if you put a lot of money on it, they'll say, no, no,
that's not going to work out. You can't do that.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Not The most intense day of NFL action, early Window
had several blowouts, including the Raiders getting smoked. The Cowboys
beaten up on the Jets. I don't know what's going
on in Baltimore right now. The Ravens fall to one.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Oh, their season is OvR. That's it.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
They're done, though, unless Lawar Jackson comes back and their
dads magically heals. I mean, it was bad.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
He's not saving that team. Forget about that. But the
Saints did get a win.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Killed a lot of people in several of the I
guess you could say eliminated challenges the survivor Survivor pools.
I'm in one that lost forty the viperpool team today
because of the Titans. I think I think several people
also might have had the Bills tonight. But yeah, it
was not a great day, but we end up with
(20:46):
a pretty good finish and sending that football where it
is a final. Now the Patriots have beaten the Bills
twenty three twenty and Stefan Diggs is talking all of
his talk to every single person in the crowd of
Buffalo right now. He had a big night tonight. Ten
he catches one hundred and forty six yards. Remember he's
he'd been cast off from several teams. I mean, it's
not like Buffalo is the only place it said, Hey man,
(21:08):
it's not gonna.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Work in Minnesota, Houston.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Yeah, several, Like I just said, several places got small.
But I think the most intriguing story, if unless you
want to somehow take this back to your Dolphins, are
two games. One of them. I think the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers are legit Super Bowl contenders. And I'm not trying
to bring this up to bring down Patrick or anything
because the Seahawks loss. And I think in that I
(21:32):
from said it earlier and I think he's a right Baker.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Mayfield's the MVP of the league right now.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Through five he was fantastic. I mean, you want to
talk about an eight plus game, he'll his numbers will
go under the radar. But what he did against Seattle
was just pure.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Well I hope three hundred and seventy nine yards doesn't
go under the radar. Throwing the ball through the air
with two touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
No, because it's just like, Okay, they beat Seattle, they'll
go to Ford and one. While everybody will talk about
how the Cardinals choked or you know what happened to
the dollin choked or this.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Don't think anybody's talking about except for that.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
But that was that was fantastic what Baker did really
that and you're right, he may be the MVP right now.
We'll see how far you can take the Buccaneers. That
was unbelievable what he put up there. And again, you know,
it goes back to what we've talked about in some
different shows. What quarterback uh And even though he took
the Browns to the playoffs, but they also had a
(22:25):
couple of bad years on the Baker what quarterback has
had bad years with the team that drafted them, then
all of a sudden they've ended up with a trade
or free agency somewhere else and look fantastic, Like I
Sam Darnald mac Jones, did he not look fantastic for
for San Francisco? Do you think after watching him what
(22:47):
he's done is a Francisco He can't be a starting
quarterback in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
So there's situations. I don't know if Carson Wentz is
going to go anywhere and play like he is for Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Right right, No, I understand. It just seems like, you
know that some of these guys that we written off
have done a pretty good job going somewhere else and
played pretty well.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
I mean I could do it with the Raiders guys,
if you would like to sit here. I mean, it's happened.
It's not like it's too shocking in the world of
the National Football League. But I think you're seeing it
play out right now with Baker and then the second
thing before the Seger's update. And again you might think
the biggest stories of Cardinals enplosion are your Dolphins. I
think what Bak and the Buccaneers did is number one.
I think one. A. I know they're foreign one, and
(23:29):
I get it that people think Denver is good, and
maybe they are, but there's we got.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
A problem in Philadelphia right now.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
I mean with that offense they are, they can't run
the football anymore, being able to run.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
The football when you have sat Quahdon Barkley, who caught
the touchdown pass today not didn't run for it. You know.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Yeah, actually it's kind of wild. They threw the ball
a little bit better than they have this season. But
Jalen Hurts was sacked six times by the Denver Broncos
today and all total, even though that the average Okay,
Philadelphia just ran the football eleven times for forty five
yards and then allowed that game to get away from
(24:08):
them because they couldn't stop the run whenever Denver committed
to the run. So tip the Captain night to Denver,
who went on the road and beat Philadelphia in a
big time performance. Bo Nix was pretty good, but Arnie,
to me, that game was about sounding alarm belts for
what's going on right now the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Could you imagine worrying a Denver Bronco jersey in Philadelphia
after the game, walking around and talking a little smack
to the locals out there. How much fun would that
have been?
Speaker 3 (24:36):
No, it would have been terrible.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Obviously, you haven't been to Philly in a while, but
those are two things that really stood out to me.
We're going to sit out to Arnie when we come back,
but first Steve de Seger is in the house to
get us caught up on everything it's trending in the
world of sports, including a Sunday night football game that
is now finally talk about it.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
I'mlik let's talk about the Sega and his Chargers.
Speaker 7 (24:56):
Oh that was not a good day, boy. I mean,
injuries are part of it, but they just weren't good.
After the first quarter. Injuries were not all of it,
by the way, the answer to the Bill's uniforms, because
the Bills, like the uniforms were completely devotive color in
this game. They were asking for a wide out experience,
shall we say, like a Penn State a home game.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
You know, Oh yeah, that's what you want to do.
Is exactly what you wanted.
Speaker 7 (25:18):
Apparently there are three of these quote rivalries uniforms. Three
different teams have used them so far this season as well.
These for Buffalo were called their cold Front alternates. Huh,
So you're thinking ice in the air, grit and no
red trim because you know red means warmth. There's no
warmth here in Buffalo. This is a uniform forged from
(25:42):
snow and ice and the unforgiving cold.
Speaker 8 (25:45):
It doesn't just represent winter. It is winter.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Oh my god, it was like.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Eighty two degrees there today, was it not?
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Or what?
Speaker 7 (25:51):
It is also a one to one because the Patriots
kick a fifty two yard field goal in the final
seconds to win at Buffalo twenty three to twenty, beating
a Bills team that had been four and oh. Stefon
Diggs in Buffalo targeted twelve times, had ten catches, one
hundred and forty six yards Tampa Bay four and one
after a field goal on the final play, got the
(26:12):
victory at Seattle thirty eight thirty five Sam Darnold four
touchdown passes, one late interception in the loss.
Speaker 8 (26:18):
Tennessee was zero to.
Speaker 7 (26:19):
Four, but got a comeback win at Arizona twenty two
to twenty one field goal on the final play. Cardinals
with three fumbles and yes running back of Mari de
Mercado early fourth quarter a seventy one yard run, but
just before the goal line celebrated and tossed the ball.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
So that's never happened before.
Speaker 7 (26:39):
I can't approved that pro football players actually don't watch
other football games.
Speaker 8 (26:45):
This just happened last week with the Colts.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
You could tell by the way that the Colts game
was a blowout because Adam and I Mitchell got on
the field in the second half. Indianapolis beat the Raiders
forty to six. Dallas was up thirty to three at
the Jets late third quarter thirty seven to twenty two
to the final wins for New Orleans and Carolina in
that comeback. The game they started in London, Minnesota with
a last minute touchdown pass at twenty one seventeen winner
(27:09):
at Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
How about was it Addison decided, I'm just gonna hang
out with some rappers in London and I'll take the
first quarter punishment and I just won't play the first quarter.
Speaker 8 (27:19):
Their first quarter punishment.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
That'll I hang out with the rappers.
Speaker 7 (27:23):
How about that game winning touchdown catch and nobody will
remember that? Houston forty four to ten winners at Baltimore.
And though Lamar Jackson did not play due to the
hamstring injury, the Denver win was twenty one seventeen at Philadelphia.
The outscored Philly eighteen to nothing in the fourth quarter
Detroit's four and one. After the win at Cincinnati thirty
seven to twenty four, Washington was down ten to nothing
(27:45):
in la second quarter twenty seven to ten. The final
Jacory Krossky merit on fourteen carries, had one hundred eleven
yards rushing, two touchdowns, one fumble. The agelest Bobby Wagner
with fourteen tackles in that game. The University of Miami
is back up to number two in the new AP poll,
behind number one Ohio State. Iowa stay fell to number
(28:07):
twenty two, And if you're looking for Texas or Penn State.
Speaker 8 (28:09):
In the AP Top twenty five.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Not there at all.
Speaker 7 (28:13):
In the American League Division Series, Toronto's up two games
to none and the best of five, beating the Yankees
again today thirteen to seven. Vladimir Guerrero Junior a Grand
Slam Seattle tonight on FS one, tied it up a
game of piece, beating Detroit in a thriller three to
two with an RBI double bottom of the eighth by
Julio Rodriguez. NASCAR win for Shane Van Gisberg and his
fifth straight on a road course, Las Vegas. Yeah, it's
(28:36):
almost it's almost unfair at this point because he won
a NASCAR race by over fifteen seconds today. Like the
car crosses the line, tap tap of the foot.
Speaker 8 (28:48):
Nobody else coming.
Speaker 7 (28:49):
Las Vegas leads the WNBA Finals two games to none
after beating Phoenix again ninety one seventy eight.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Back to you, thanks Steve. It's already playing to Forget.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast, and
you'll find tonight's show posted right after we get off
the air, before Big Ben Mallard takes over. All right,
there was a couple of things from me outside of
complaining about your Dolphins?
Speaker 3 (29:25):
What else about your eye today?
Speaker 4 (29:27):
There's gonna be a lot of people who's doing their
jobs in college, in pro players and coaches, So we
could probably get to that later on. But there's people
calling for coaches heads right now. You know that, don't you.
It's getting real hot out there, Chris, you know.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
I mean, it's what we're here for. So who you think?
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Well, Roman numberal thirteen, who must go? Everybody on that list,
and there's some there's four coaches and a player all
will not be back with those respective teams. So we
get started at the top. Mike McDaniel will not be
back with the Miami Dolphins. Okay that I can guarantee you.
That was decided tonight. Once you lose to a team,
(30:06):
Mike Carolinam we'll get into that later on. There's there's
there's no turning back from that.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
They're not gonna make What do you mean, we can
get into it later on.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
You spent the entire first thirty minutes in the show
talking about which more do we have to talk about it?
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Okay? Penn State and James Franklin two things. One On
a personal level, if I was a Penn State fan,
I would say it's time to go. I mean, the
one in whatever record against top ten and top five
and top twenty five, and now that you've lost the
streak against unranked teams, it's time to move on. And
(30:39):
you know what, it's probably time for him to move on.
He'll get a great job, Chris. It's not like he's
not going to be in the want out there. He'll
land on his feet. He's been there many years. It
probably do him good to get someplace fresh. So I
don't think he's good. Do you think he'll come back better?
You better hope that he finds another job. Do you
know what his buyout is?
Speaker 2 (31:01):
No?
Speaker 4 (31:01):
I actually don't know.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Fifty million dollars.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
I think Penn State would pay that out because that's
according to the financial terms.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Franklin's buyout if he were fired without cause, is just
under fifty million dollars.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Well, at least it's not as expensive as.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
Listen boy, you might say, you might say, oh, they'll
do it.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Now. We're in a different world of college football now, right.
I mean you're you're probably not gonna unless he has
and I think he's really angered some in state people.
But you've got money that's going towards now nil and
not every team has a Cody Campbell out there. That's
just a a billionaire. I think more than anything else,
I don't think it's about firing him. I think you
(31:43):
hit it on the head. I think it's, hey, why
don't you go look at Arkansas? Why don't you take
a look at UCLA or maybe Virginia Tech might be
a good spot for you.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
James Franklin, if I was a Penn State fan, that
would probably be the worst Penn State loss in how
long and seriously and how long to lose to a
UCLA team that was owned for you were a twenty
four and a half point favorite. I bet you go
var Arrington, who probably was in the game sick to
his stomach. I mean that that is just hideous. There's
(32:13):
no excuse for something like that at UCLA team that
actually lost their coach a couple of games ago. That
their offensive coordinator did not know how to work the
headsets on us had his head so I don't know
what was he just showing you the play Run right,
run left, let's go, let's go. I didn't seriously it
was It's ridiculous. And they beat Penn State. How you
(32:35):
lost a game like that? If I was a Penn
State fan, I'd be really I'd be nauseous that that's
probably one of the worst losses in their in their history.
It's just horrible. I look, if there wasn't a fifty
million dollar bad I know there is, so you can't
really say that he definitely would be gone. Fifty million
does make it tough. Chris. I do agree with you there,
(32:56):
but believe me, do you really want to be someplace
where the only reason they're keeping used is they can't
fire you is of money. Everybody's gonna hate you around town.
You know, the donors really don't want you there, and
you've had back to back losses and two. Look, the
Oregon loss is understandable, but you can't you can't say
anything about UCLA.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
I don't know what you could do, but I'd probably
want to first start if I was in Chris.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
A couple of numbers on this By the way, since
nineteen thirty six, only four teams ranked in the AP
top ten have lost to a team with a record
of zero to four or worse. And the last time
it happened was nineteen eighty five. It was why he
was number seven and UTEP beat him. Oh yeah, and
let's let's go ahead and add this to make it
worse for Penn State and James Franklin. UCLA had never
(33:47):
even led in a football game this sear had never
even led. I noticed you have Brian Dabole on this list. Yeah, yeah, done. Yeah. Like, now,
are they going to give him the season because he
was the toast of the town last week?
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Yeah? I think they're gonna give him the season. I
don't think Jackson Dart's gonna be able to save him.
So and you saw another bad loss there. I don't
think it's gonna work out. They'll want to go in
a different direction. They'll want somebody else leading them through
the Jackson Dart era. So I just don't see him
sticking around. And look, he's been on thin ice for
(34:24):
probably the last year or two. I think they're gonna
make a move after that.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
All right, Well, we'll get to some of the you
have players on this list too that we'll get to
coming up here in just a bit. But when we
come back, how about our first dip through the tweets
to the show too. Now, it's the best way to

Do you know that the the Niners were seven and
a half point underdog on Thursday night the Patriots.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
I'm just looking.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
At a number right here that Action Network has says
nine or seven and a half Broncos four, Titans were
seven and a half point dog and the Patriots were
seven and a half point dog and all pulled.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
Up sets this week.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Believable.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
It's pretty significant. That's what were you able to get
it at eight and a half or something or I
think that was the original number.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
I think that was Wow, didn't I send you a
slip that I end up losing. I bet that game,
I took the rams.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
I think I don't know.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (35:33):

haven't been trolled here in a while. No, it's been
a while, A little bit better.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
By the way, don't don't don't ignore Andrew's tweet, please,
I know you're trying to.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
I don't. I'm just now pulling up the Twitter, So
go ahead.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Andrew says, since Thinking Genius is the new Howard Cosel
and knows every single sport known the man, it would
be great if you could do the color of an
upcoming Oklahoma softball game with you. What do you think
I think I could make that work. I could pull
some strings and make that work. No, no, what do
you mean?
Speaker 2 (36:30):
No, you do the do I would. I would rather
have somebody take a needle and shove it in my ear,
and take another needle and shove it in the corner
of my eyeball than be in the same room as
you to any show or any broadcast and has been
blocked and reported for this.
Speaker 4 (36:51):
Here's my play by and literally with the pitch just
a bit outside, Chris.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
I think that sounds pretty good.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
This one is from mister who writes they're not Arnie's
bills because as usual, he put his death touch on
them and they lost. I hope the Dolphins are immune
to that same curse tomorrow night. Are the Dodgers, excuse me,
are immune to that same curse tomorrow night. I'm in
a bad enough mood already.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
Some you know, sooner or later, one of my teams
have to win, doesn't it. I mean this is since
we've been doing the show. Seriously, the Dolphins have done nothing,
The Knicks have done nothing. My Arizona Wildcats football basketball
have done nothing. My mets, I mean Islands, You're just
killing me. You're just destroyed. It's been a dozen years
(37:36):
and nothing that's a long time. It's like, I say,
can you imagine if your wife said, you know what,
I think, I'm gonna not have sex with you for
a dozen years. That's not gonna sit well with you, now,
is it. It's gonna be making very cranky.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Why is everything with you over the last two weeks
falling back to like relationship?
Speaker 9 (37:54):
Well?
Speaker 4 (37:55):
You know, I'm these sex relationship person.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
You know that?
Speaker 5 (37:57):
Though?
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Yeah, I guess so, Colin Wrights. This season isn't really
his fault. But after seventeen years, could the Ravens front
office actually start contemplating moving on from say, John Harball
after this season?
Speaker 4 (38:12):
There was what how many years ago? Was there actually
like a fifty to fifty chance that he was going
to be gone? And then they bought him back and
he won a Super Bowl? I think? Right?
Speaker 3 (38:21):
So I don't remember that at all.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
No, I mean because well, they before they won the
Super Bowl, they had gone eleven and five, nine and seven,
and twelve and four in back to back years, and
it made the AFC Championship Game in two of those
four years.
Speaker 4 (38:36):
So they weren't going to fire him, so he was
on solid ground.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
I mean, I would they ca'ed pretty good shape. If
you're doing that, I could be wrong. I just I
don't remember him. They was that fired in eleven, but
they hey, listen, they fell on some hard times, you know.
They went in twenty fifteen, Baltimore went five and eleven,
they were eight and eight, and they were nine and seven,
and then in twenty eighteen they made the playoff. So
(39:00):
maybe you're thinking around twenty seventeen there might have been
some rumblings that he was going to move on. But again,
this is a team that I mean, does a voice
get stale. I mean, Pete Carroll had Seattle doing pretty well,
but they decided that they needed to move on. Of course,
he was also seventy and has apparently forgot how to coach.
(39:20):
But John Arball is sixty three years old, you know,
it is it's a long time. I can't fathom that
they would look at him and say it's his fault. Right,
There's something's going on behind the scenes.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
But maybe again it could be another thing where there's
maybe a time for a change too. So yeah, there
could be a lot of openings out there. By the way,
we the one that just came in from Blue Forever.
I can't believe that everybody missed this because I didn't
even know about this until a couple of hours ago.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Off the Twitter line today, who's I get?
Speaker 7 (39:48):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (39:48):
Yeah, in the Vikings game, did you see the football
the Vikings kicker kicked it hit a cable and was
directed away from the goalpost.
Speaker 4 (39:56):
It hit the cable that was holding the camera.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
Did you see that cam?
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (40:02):
Yeah, and it directed the football from going straight to
the right. And at first when he kicked it, we
just thought that he just shanked it. When you see
it on the replay, you're like, oh my goodness, and
hit the cable. He should have been given another chance
to kick it, and nobody said a damn thing. That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Well, it's supposed to be a dead ball, right right.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
He's supposed to get another kick, another free kick in.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
Well, why wouldn't they be losing their minds?
Speaker 4 (40:25):
I don't think they realized that it hit the cable
to be That's the other reason I can think of.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
You've got people that are looking at every single finite
moment of every single play. You've got review officials from above,
and they can't see that.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
They can't figure it. Unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
Yeah, I saw that today. Somebody, somebody's got to get
that figured out, all right. Whenever we come back, went
more of your tweets. Todd Furman is coming up next
hour as we recap a busy Sunday and weekend of
college and pro football and Fox Sports Radio had a
fun finish, but not so fun from start to finish
on Sunday Night Football, as the New England Patriots hand
(41:05):
the Bills the first loss of the season, which means,
for all the complaining you've done tonight, Arnie, yeah, you
shouldn't be celebrating. We will not have an undefeated team
in the NFL this year, so your nineteen seventy two
Dolphins will remain the only undefeated team of the modern era.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
I popped up in the champagne tonight already.
Speaker 3 (41:22):
Yeah, you gotta have something to celebrate, right.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
You know. It's interesting too, all these divisions that we
thought were just cinched and taken care of. Now all
of a sudden you look at him and it's like, oof, Okay,
maybe not. The Buccaneers look to be the class of
the NFC South. Suddenly suddenly the Eagles look vulnerable in
the NFC East.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
Well, they're still gonna win the East, so no big
thing there yet.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
I don't know, dude, I don't know. The Commanders will
look dead today in the first quarter, and then out
of nowhere, ended up beating up on the Chargers down
the stretch because Los Angeles can't protect their quarterback. Don't
look now, but my preseason pick to be a sleeper team.
The Steelers are living large in the AFC North, and
(42:08):
at the very least Buffalo lost, but they still.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
Have that division's already done too. Pittsburgh's already won that division.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
They got a two game lead over the Bengals, a
three game lead over both the Ravens and the Browns.
What do you think of Dylan gabriel start this morning?
Speaker 4 (42:20):
I thought it was fantastic. I look, I know they
lost and he did something's wrong, but he had a
lot of poise. He made some good throws, he made
some hard throws. I liked what he did. I like
I like his poise. I think he's solidified being on
Cleveland and being the quarterback of the future there.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
I think he's good.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
I didn't know how his game would translate to the NFL,
but I think if I'm a Browns fan, I'm in
good shape.
Speaker 4 (42:48):
But then I don't be happy about that.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
They're gonna They're gonna do something stupid.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
Right, They'll end up deciding, all right, we gotta let
Shador play at some point. Then he'll go out there
and do well, and then they'll have a quarterback battle
and then somewhere out of where de Shaun Watson's gonna
come back.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
Is he even around the team?
Speaker 4 (43:03):
Have you? I don't even I have not heard a
word from him. If he ever comes back to the NFL.
I don't know who's going to take a chance. Well,
I do know a desperate team like I don't know,
like the Dolphins. Who knows.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
Well, you guys again, you paid to a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
I mean, you can sit here and complain all you want,
but I don't think you're going anywhere.
Speaker 3 (43:21):
So I think it's time.
Speaker 4 (43:23):
We need the Mulligan rule where you could take back
Wooden contract.
Speaker 3 (43:27):
Well, it would that be the one you take back?
Speaker 5 (43:29):
Or what?
Speaker 4 (43:29):
Hell yeah? Oh hell yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
This is the guy that literally two weeks ago you're
saying is your quarterback, And he's the guy.
Speaker 4 (43:37):
I didn't say that two weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
You've said it a lot, and you did say it
two weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
I mean it's he threw three touchdown passes today, he
didn't throw an interception I fifty six yards. I mean,
you're dumping on It's not really the reason they lost.
Speaker 4 (43:52):
He should have pulled it out down the stretch for us.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
How about you blame your running game. Fourteen carries nineteen yards.
Speaker 4 (43:59):
Yeah, that was horrible too.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
That was and giving up two hundred and six. Anyway,
I'm done with the Dolphins. Uh so let's go to
Roman numeral number. Let's see here, what was it?
Speaker 4 (44:09):
Well, we didn't finish number thirteen.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
Oh you want to go back to thirteen first?
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (44:13):
Yeah, let's we gave you three people that won't be back.
Remember now when you were you were talking about James
Franklin and you said he won't he'll be back because
it's a fifty million dollar buyout, that's right. And I
and I said, well, you know, sometimes money aside. You know,
a coach like that says, you know what, I'm not
wanted here? Uh, you know, like the next person we're
(44:34):
going to bring up, like Dabo Sweeney. He he you
talk about a guy that if he gets the slightest
feeling that he's not wanted. He'll bolt money. No money,
buy out, no buy out. He'll take a dollar to leave.
If you're gonna go and push him out, He's not
going to play that Shenat again. He's even said it, Chris,
(44:54):
if you don't want me, you know, and blah blah blah.
He said that last year, did he not?
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Well, he said two weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
But he also said it more than once. So uh,
somebody like him, you know, I could see him actually
benefiting from a chain of change of scenery and one
player I brought up his arch Manning. His stock is
dropping so fast, Chris, I mean so fast.
Speaker 3 (45:19):
Only someone on the show would have told you that
that's a possibility.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
Don't know, yes, because I'm the only one that had
arch Manning is.
Speaker 2 (45:24):
A canus one point stop and actually give me some
credit on this program.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
Can you live in reality for like two minutes?
Speaker 2 (45:34):
You did?
Speaker 4 (45:34):
You did call arch Manning, But I mean, how you
didn't have him dropping this far? Did you? I mean
I told you if you said he was not a
number one pick, yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:43):
I said, I don't think he's an NFL quarterback, Oh geez.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
I think he needs to go somewhere else, and kind
of get a first start.
Speaker 3 (45:53):
But here's the thing, all right, you want to say.
Speaker 4 (45:55):
Dab just just the last thing about Arch. If I
was him, I think maybe And because Sarkisian, I don't
think we was gonna want to keep him two more
years after this year. And if I'm March, I'm thinking,
you know what, let me go to a team, maybe
another other value team, I guess is the word. I'm
looking for a team that maybe he's around five hundred,
(46:16):
that I could help, you know, take to the next
step and maybe transfer, because I don't think it's going
to work out for him in Texas.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
Well, I'll say, I'll say one thing. I'm not ready
to bury him yet. I still think he didn't look
he had two interceptions, but he still had a couple
of throws during that game against Florida where you're like, oh, okay,
that's what you guys have been talking about. But this
is also a dude. They's been in college for three years,
you know. It's and it's not as if he's some
(46:46):
spring chicken. He's not a true freshman. He's been in
college for three years, right, and he couldn't beat out
quinn Ewers or at the very least they wanted to
stay with quinn Ewers. Now maybe we know why, but
I'm gonna be very careful because every single time I
talk trash on someone, they usually up in my face.
So it's, oh, you Texas Weeks, who's gonna I'm just
gonna kind of hold off on you.
Speaker 4 (47:04):
You don't think maybe getting a change of scenery after
the year or no.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
I mean, it seems like he still is one of
those guys that's gonna be calling all the shots, right right,
I mean, it's it seems as if, regardless and I
don't know, it's gonna be up to Sark too, and
it's gonna be up to the How bad does it
get this year? Though?
Speaker 3 (47:22):
That's the question. How bad does it get for Texas?
Speaker 2 (47:25):
They're still a favorite over Oklahoma this weekend, which absolutely blows.
Speaker 4 (47:29):
My mind right now, a two point favorite or something.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
I saw three and a half.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
Okay, that they were three and a half point favorite
over Oklahoma, which again, maybe the odds makers know something
I don't know, but again, that's that's still shocking to me.
They still, even though they have a much softer schedule
than most teams, they still have to go to Mississippi.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
State, who looks to be much better. Right, they still
have to go to Georgia.
Speaker 2 (47:52):
They've got to play Vanderbilt, who, even though they got
beat they Vandy played him tough last year.
Speaker 3 (47:57):
And they've got to play Texas A and M.
Speaker 2 (47:59):
So you still have games against the number six, the
number five, the number ten ranked teams in the country.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
So my question would be like how bad does it get?
Speaker 2 (48:09):
And then, you know, let's revisit this conversation here maybe
after Saturday, depending on what happens in Dallas.
Speaker 4 (48:16):
Well, they can't give you the James Franklin excuse, that's
for sure.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
You know that the buyout, no the travel.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
If I hear that one more time, I'm gonna pull
my hair out. I don't have much left to pull out.
The travel please that that that's that's laughable. If that's
what you're gonna use as an excuse.
Speaker 2 (48:34):
They knew it going in. Everybody in in the Big
ten and in the pac twelve knew it. When they
brought in USC and U C, l A and then
got real greedy and said, let's just bring in Washington
and Oregon too.
Speaker 3 (48:47):
They knew it, aren't he.
Speaker 4 (48:48):
I mean, do you think that is a problem. Do
you agree with that?
Speaker 2 (48:50):
Yeah, it sucks.
Speaker 3 (48:52):
I mean, don't try a.
Speaker 4 (48:53):
Lot of traveling. But you you travel in the South.
That's that's why I always wanted I mean programs aside.
I always said to you, Arizona's got to be in
the Big twelve of the SEC. They got to be
down there with all the Texas schools and stuff like that.
Nobody wants to go to Corvalis and Stanford and Cown, Washington,
Pullman and places like that. They got to be down
there in the South.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
Yeah. Well, I mean, again, you're probably not gonna happen
for Arizona. But I would also add that the the
reality of it is it's not easy. But you're also
not like literally having layovers at airports. You know, you're
flying corporate jets. You're you're flying what's it called, not
(49:34):
when you're not commercial you're oh anyway, Yeah, you charter
You're chartered everywhere.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
So I mean, I just boohoo, buckeroo.
Speaker 1 (49:41):
Man.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
You signed up for this, all right, So you think
arch you think Dabbo, I wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 4 (49:47):
For anybody on that list, or you'd be surprised at that.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
I finished real quick, I said, I wouldn't be surprised
at all if Arch or Dabo all right, sorry, James
Franklin or Dabo aren't big time candidates for other jobs
by In other words, I think Dabbo would be a
hell of a fit at Arkansas. I think that that
all shuxy style would fit real well at Arkansas, and
we saw them make a splash for John Calipari. I
know James Franklin has zero ties to the West Coast,
(50:13):
but I think it'd be cool to see him as
the head coach at UCLA. Which is funny that they
just beat Penn State, but I think he could he
could bring a little juice to that UCLA program. So
those two, again, I don't know if they're happening. I
don't even know if they're candidates, but just I think
those are things to keep an eye on. Which is
those two guys being candidates for their jobs this offseason.
Speaker 4 (50:32):
Most likely to not be with their team next year.
On that list you have, well, it's McDaniel for sure.
These number one.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
And day Ball I think would be pretty close.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
You know, I don't Mark Davis has not shown a
lot of patients in Vegas and Buddy.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
I tweeted this earlier.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
I've spent a lot of time as Raiders fan since birth,
since I can remember watching TV. Whenever you know, Jim
it was our quarterback, and I live through the Mark
Wilson J. Schrader era. I don't know if I've ever
been more embarrassed by a team's performance than that was today.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
That was just terrible.
Speaker 4 (51:09):
No, but I mean there is a silver lining for you.
Speaker 3 (51:13):
No, there's not.
Speaker 4 (51:14):
You're next coach?
Speaker 3 (51:16):
Which is which would be? Don't say Deon Sanders.
Speaker 4 (51:19):
No, it's not gonna be Dion. Stop it. It could
be that's.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
Usually what you throw up every single time.
Speaker 4 (51:24):
No, no, stop it. It's going to be somebody who
knows the game of football, somebody who has learned the
game of football. Okay, somebody who's played the game of football.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
You think it's going to be Brady.
Speaker 4 (51:37):
You damn right, it's going to be Tom Brady.
Speaker 3 (51:39):
I'd be fine with that.
Speaker 4 (51:42):
Oh, he wants to do it all. You better believe
what does he get to lose. He's coming into a
perfect situation the team and it's all time low. He's
a part owner. You're not gonna tell him squad on
what to do. He'll have full card blosh. Why not
want to go ahead and be the head coach? I
want to do that at all art beat of course
I would.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
Because you're doing TV and you're getting pay thirty million
dollars TV.
Speaker 4 (52:05):
I'll get back to the TV afterwards. Okay, I'm going
to be a head coach right now and save my
Raiders and win some games and make me a lot
more money because then the value of the team is
going to go up. You don't take If he had
a choice between the two right now, head coach of
the Raiders or being in the broadcast booth, I think
you'd take head coach of the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
I think he would choose the broadcast so much easier.
Speaker 4 (52:31):
This is about turning around the program, and he doesn't care.
Speaker 2 (52:38):
Why would he care about turning around the Raiders. He
likes his little part ownership thing that he has. He
likes doing TV, even though he's not very good at it.
I mean, I just I don't. I don't get where
you think that there would be a want for him
to be a head coach or that.
Speaker 4 (52:53):
Have played and won a Super Bowl and then have
coached and won a Super Bowl two.
Speaker 2 (52:59):
Maybe how many guys have played and won a Super
Bowl and coached and won a Super Bowl?
Speaker 4 (53:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (53:04):
Not many?
Speaker 4 (53:05):
Did go?
Speaker 2 (53:05):
Right? Did Mike dick want? Yes, he won one as
a player he wanted with the Colts, and then I.
Speaker 4 (53:12):
Thought he won with the Bears.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
Well he won as a player with the Colts.
Speaker 4 (53:16):
Okay, there right, Okay, so that's one, and then who
else would have been the second?
Speaker 3 (53:21):
I don't know you you asked the trivia question.
Speaker 4 (53:24):
Yeah, pretty good trivia question. We don't know.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
Can you look up the answer to these questions before
you ask them?
Speaker 4 (53:32):
Or at least that was really a trivia question. I
was just talking off the top of my ed. I said,
what two? I'm probably gonna be right. There's probably another
one we can't think about off the top to floor?
Speaker 2 (53:42):
Did it the City Chiefs and then won Super Bowls
with the Raiders?
Speaker 4 (53:47):
So okay, So there's.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
By the way, I was wrong, Dicka won his as
a player with the Cowboys, not with the Colts. Oh,
I didn't realize he had played. That's at least according
to Google AI, which by the way, can be absolutely wrong.
So yeah, he won his Super Bowl with the Cowboys
because he went from being a player for the Cowboys
from sixty nine to seventy two, and then was a
(54:12):
coach in nineteen seventy three. In fact, he was a
special teams coordinator the year after he retired in seventy three.
So one of only two guys, and what a good
guess by me. How about that? Let's see, Ditka Flores, Kubiak,
and Doug Peterson are the only people in the modern
NFL history to win a championship as a head coach
of a team for which they played previously.
Speaker 4 (54:36):
So okay, so there you go, all right?
Speaker 2 (54:38):
Anyway, I think that there would be a less than
zero chance that Tom Brady would be the next head
coach of the Raiders. But again, if you want to
get him all fired up, you go for it, because
I don't think that I don't think Mark Davis is
going to pull the plug that quick. But something is
very off for the Raiders. And it's not just that
Gino Smith sucks. It's just something as a carry off
(55:00):
with him right now, and.
Speaker 4 (55:01):
That was a disgusting performance, by the way. I looking
to Twitter, we're getting a lot still now because we
were talking about college football beforehand. Well, what do we
gotta do? Because I mean, I dare us have Texas
and Penn State like one and two and they're not
even in the top twenty five. We've got to come
up with a better system. That's just DoD right embarrassing.
(55:22):
What are these people voting for? When you have two
teams like that? It just goes to show you how
little some of these voters know. You know, I mean,
you're kind of preaching the choir on this one.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
And then whenever you call out the people who are
voting in the polls, like what happened whenever Florida State,
who was it?
Speaker 9 (55:40):
Was it?
Speaker 5 (55:40):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (55:40):
Yeah, Florida was still ranked after they lost to South Florida.
Then they give you some I mean yoga babbel answer,
and you got white Knights on Twitter that are.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
Like you leave her alone?
Speaker 2 (55:51):
Sure, No, the reason he does not make any sense whatsoever.
I'll tell you what. It's I love college football. I
watch it, yes, incessantly. It's impossible to watch every single game,
it really truly is.
Speaker 4 (56:06):
It's impossible. In the NFL, you can't. You can't.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
But this whole idea that people are beyond reproach for
their ballots is ridiculous. I'm going to have to look
look up tonight and see how many people still had
Texas on their ballots, you know, because I bet quite
a few did. There were some last year, last week
after the Penn State loss that still had Penn State
at number three. Arnie, there's any people of them that
(56:31):
had Penn State at number three.
Speaker 4 (56:32):
If you have Penn State in the top twenty five,
you have to lose your voting privileges immediately.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
Well, seriously, I'm looking through them all right now, and
it looks pretty solid. It doesn't look like too many
people put Penn State on their ballots. So that's that's.
Speaker 4 (56:45):
Because they know they're on you know, they're on call.
They know that we're looking.
Speaker 3 (56:48):
At Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (56:52):
Somebody named Pete Yanity of WSPA has Penn State eighteenth
in his most recent.
Speaker 4 (56:59):
Ple No, and that goes to show you that's where
he thinks they should be, because he dropped them all
the way down to number eighteen.
Speaker 2 (57:06):
He has him eighteen in the most recent poll.
Speaker 4 (57:10):
That's terrible, man, They got to take his vote away.
Speaker 2 (57:13):
How about this? How about this? Our buddy Mike kill
of Fox Sports has Texas at eighteenth in his most
recent Associated Press poll.
Speaker 4 (57:23):
Get out of here.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
Eight?
Speaker 4 (57:26):
Are you serious?
Speaker 2 (57:27):
I'm serious? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (57:29):
Why don't you have a vote? That's what I don't understand.
Speaker 3 (57:31):
I don't want to vote.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
I why because I can't watch every game. I can't
even keep tabs on games. And oh, by the way,
Mike kill who has Texas at number eighteen, has Oklahoma
at nine, the second lowest ranking that the Sooners have
in any single poll out there? I mean, number nine, Mike,
What are we doing here, buddy? Come on, wow, let's go.
Speaker 4 (57:53):
Send me an email right now.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
Let me see here what I want to see. If
anyone else has Penn State ranked that high's happens.
Speaker 3 (58:01):
Here's somebody.
Speaker 2 (58:02):
Trevor has who writes for Boston dot Com, has Penn
State ranked nineteenth. It is most tree simple got you guys?
Come on, what are we even doing anyway? It's out there,
you guys can find it. But it is a little
bit embarrassing whenever you think about what we thought it
was gonna look like in the preseason.
Speaker 3 (58:18):
What looks like now?
Speaker 2 (58:19):
I mean? Josh Even Wrights on Twitter with Texas still
having to play Oklahoma, Georgia Vanderbilt in Texas a and
m Do you see them making the playoffs? No, I
don't see them sniffing the playoffs right now. In fact,
they're out. I think they're out. I think Florida State's
out after their second loss.
Speaker 3 (58:35):
But we're gonna have a lot of chaos.
Speaker 4 (58:38):
Manna that for sure.
Speaker 2 (58:42):
All Right, when we come back, Todd Furman is gonna
be in the house. We'll talk all things, not only
the Major League Baseball but also uh NFL five. We've
been talking a lot about college football. So Todd Furman
right around the corner. Hey. During the baseball points postseason,
Strauss made history as the first brand ever on the helmets,
family owned since nineteen forty eight, Strauss makes workwear built
(59:05):
to perform, smart pocket design, real comfort and durability you
can trust, from grit to glory. Gear up today Strauss
dot com. That's st Rauss dot Com. Todd Furman's next
on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's any plank recap
in the week that was in the National Football League.
Of course, got someoney net football. We'll talk about mower Plummer. Now,
(59:27):
Todd Furman's in the house. Todd Furman Betting Insider. Oh,
you're getting in touch with them now my bad. Todd
Furman coming up in moments. Then we'll recap the week
that was. I felt like it was a good week
for the underdogs just based on some of the upsets
we've seen.
Speaker 4 (59:43):
Oh yeah, absolutely, if you were taking the points, you
you're probably made off like a banshee, that's for sure.
I think the overs were hitting, Not exactly sure, but
it looks like the overs slightly ahead of the unders
this week.
Speaker 2 (59:56):
Well, and that's a pretty stark difference, right because we'
in a world where the uh, the overs were our steam.
The unders were kind of dominating early in the season.
Has it always been overs?
Speaker 4 (01:00:06):
I think it's I think it's been overs as it
I always told you. With the kickoff rule, I don't
think the NFL could get a good gauge on what
to make the over unders because you get you really
can't juice it up that high, then people start betting
the Underscris.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
Well, with that in mind, let's talk to him. Todd
Furman is in the house. Was it a good day
for the dogs? Was it a good day for the books?
What it looked like.
Speaker 9 (01:00:26):
Definitely a good day for the dogs. We finally got
some of those sizeable underdogs not only to cover, but
to win games outright, creating a little bit of carnage
and survivor pools across the country, no doubt about it,
highlighted by the forty nine ers kind of setting the
tone on Thursday night where they moved from a three
and a half four point underdog closing as high as
eight eight and a half with the rash of injuries
that they had to endure. Following it up today with
(01:00:48):
the Arizona Cardinals somehow snatching defeat from the jaws of victory,
and then of course the culmination of the game that
just wrapped up Buffalo getting upset at home as a
seven and a half point favorite by divisional rival in
New England.
Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
Todd, this is this is when you should be coming
on with us, especially all you gambling friends out there,
and said, I don't know if you guys know this,
but after today's action, I'm buying a casino and I'm
calling it Todd's I mean, could you imagine if you
bet the Carolina Panthers to come back when they were
down seventeen to nothing, or if you bet against Arizona,
if you took the Titans when it was what twenty
(01:01:20):
one to three or or something like that. With all
the comebacks in the NFL this week, man, you could
talk about being rich. I mean those of the US
have been like a ninety nine. Certainly some of these
dads were gonna win.
Speaker 7 (01:01:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:01:34):
One.
Speaker 9 (01:01:34):
I think the most interesting results was that Tennessee Arizona
game that you mentioned. I mean, according to next Gen
stats going back to twenty sixteen, the Titans average win
probability in that game, guys, was under thirteen percent. They said,
it was the lowest of the next Gen stats era.
Just put things in perspective how quickly these games can
change with even the smallest mistakes or I guess, in
the case of Emil de Mercado, much larger than that
(01:01:56):
fumbling the football going into the end zone, which no
doubt would have put the final nail on the Titans
coffin and for the second straight week, guys. Look, I
never played the sport at a high level, not even
at high school. I just can't figure out why the
football suddenly weighs a thousand pounds once you get inside
the five, and why it's so difficult to just carry
across the goal line and flip it into these stands
or fumble at that point once you're already into the
(01:02:16):
end zone.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Safety Todd, How bad are things right now in Vegas
with the Raiders? I mean, that was just I've been
a fan for a long time. That was as embarrassing
as anything I've ever seen. What's going on.
Speaker 9 (01:02:29):
I mean, look, the organization has some fundamental issues. We
saw for a while that Pete Carroll was going to
at least start to build a culture there, and while
the talent wasn't going to allow them to compete in
the AFC West, they were going to be competitive week
in week out, and last week for the better part
of three and a half quarters, they looked apart had
a chance to knock off the Bears, and that those
late game miscues and questionable choices kind of flooded into
(01:02:51):
this game here where it was a de facto no show.
I get you're dealing with some injuries. Every team does
in the National Football League, but to give up forty
points in the second and third quarter combined against the
Indianapolis Colts and not have any answers offensively, you know,
I'm not sure where the Raiders go from here, but
fortunately for them, they get the Tennessee Titans fresh off
that improbable win, and the Raiders will enter is the
biggest favorite they'll be in a game all season as
(01:03:13):
a five and a half six point favorite next Sunday
out here in the Desert.
Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
DoD Did they even have money line on Ucla Penn State?
Oh my, oh my good? Why did I keep give
out Ucla as my upset special?
Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
You had to get what you guys. I hadn't led
a game all year long, That's why.
Speaker 9 (01:03:31):
Not only that you hadn't had an upset of that
magnitude in terms of a team ranked inside the top ten.
I want to say since the late nineties, when you
tap ups at buyu so Arnie, you would have lost
a lot of money over the last twenty five plus
years trying to catch lightning in a bottle. But to
your question, Ucla went off right around to seven and
a half or eight to one under.
Speaker 5 (01:03:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:03:51):
And if you would have told me that Penn State
goes out there and score thirty seven points, I'd have
told you that there's a good chance to Hitney Lions
cover as a three touchdown plus favorite. Never in anyone's
wildest dreams did we think Rick Neuheisel's Sun could orchestrate
an offensive attack that looked as good as what we've
seen from the heyday of Tray Coman leading the UCLA
Bruins up and down the field of the Rose Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:04:12):
It looked bad. It looks bad, but you know what's interesting,
so did North Carolina. And again, this is obviously probably
a more fun topic to debate when the season's over.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
Our NFL team's looking like Atlanta in places.
Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Now go if we dodged a bullet or do you
think Belichick's still going to be a hot commodity when
the NFL coaching cycle opens up.
Speaker 9 (01:04:33):
I think this becomes his last landing spot unless he
ends up wanting to coach high school football in Nantucket.
That may be about the extent of where he's going
from here. Because the more runway that we see and
you get the performance like we've seen in a limited
sample side size from Max Jones and Kyle Shanahan's offense
and what New England is starting to become over the
last couple of years, I mean, it's hard to make
(01:04:55):
a case or justify Bill Belichick getting a higher profile
job because of anything. Watching North Carolina through the first
couple games of the season, they look to have regressed,
and coming off of bye week, there was nothing buttoned
up whatsoever on either side of the ball in that
dominant performance at the hands of the Clemson Tigers in
Chapel Hill.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
By the way, do you think James Franklin Davos Sweeney
either back with their teams? And I know there's a
Chris told me a fifty million dollar buyout for James Franklin.
But I've said, you know in Sweeney has said this before,
if he's not wanted, if somebody's really not wanted, you'll
take your money and you'll go elsewhere. I know they
don't want to give him fifty billion, but it's getting
really bad out there in Penn State.
Speaker 9 (01:05:33):
Well, I don't think it's fair to compare the two.
I know Clemson hasn't exactly been a juggernaut over the
last couple of seasons, given the lofty standards they sat
when they were winning national championships and competing for them.
But Dabos Sweeney's got a decorated resume. He's accomplished everything
that you can in this sport. So to suddenly feel
like he's lost his touch, maybe the nil era. He
hasn't been able to adjust and adapt, which is a
(01:05:54):
legitimate concern. But James Franklin on the flip side, I mean,
we know the stats, we know the numbers when they
step up up in class. Penn State has had no answers.
And this was a team that was supposed to be
the group that was able to get Penn State to
the promised Land, win the Big Ten. You get to
a national championship game, and suddenly, when you look at
the implied odds of Penn State even making the College
Football Playoff with that lost to UCLA, they now dip
(01:06:17):
to about sixteen percent. And you look at their upcoming schedule,
it's hard to imagine that Penn State can run the table,
finish the regular season ten and two and have a
legitimate case to be made to be included in the
field as.
Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
Twelve Todd one more college and then I do want
to get your take on the Ravens before we get
out of here. And I know we're running a little long,
but Texas really a three and a half points favorite
over Oklahoma right now? Is this about matiers injury? What's
going on? That seems like an odd number?
Speaker 9 (01:06:41):
I think we've all lived through the Andrew Hawkins experience
in the past, or Michael Hawkins, I should say, so,
there are legitimate concerns about what that Oklahoma offense will
be able to do. You have to imagine that Texas
is going to be significantly more buttoned up than what
we saw over the weekend against Florida. But there's no
doubt this Longhorns offense isn't exactly dynamic. Arch Manning has
underwhelmed to the first handful of games. When you look
(01:07:03):
at the two contests where Texas had a step up
and fight in their own weight class against Florida and
Ohio State, they've been sattled losses. I don't want to
discount the Oklahoma defense by any stretch of the imagination,
but typically when it looks too good to be true
and you haven't seen odds makers make even the slightest
adjustment from where this number was on a look ahead,
I'd say buyer, beware of backing Oklahoma in this spot.
(01:07:24):
Whatever Texas has, you're going to get their absolute best,
knowing they have to play with a level of desperation
because the loss here will keep Texas, in my opinion,
on the outside of the playoffs, much like Penn State
and Clemson.
Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
And by the way, Todd, Arizona, we don't play Texas Tech,
we don't play Utah. So a win over BYU, we
win the Big Twelve Championship this weekend.
Speaker 9 (01:07:43):
Well, I don't think you're going to win any conference
championship in the middle of October, so we'll pump the
brakes a little bit. But I do think it's an
interesting game for Arizona given what we saw for their
trip to Aims where they weren't ready to step up
in class against Iowa State. They were able to get
healthy last week like everybody seems to do at the
hands of Oklahoma State. But you mentioned the resume. Arnie
went at home against BYU, a couple of winnable road
(01:08:03):
games at Houston, at Colorado, and suddenly things look to
be a lot more optimistic for the Boys and Tucsons,
And who knows, maybe it comes down to the Territorial
Cup Thanksgiving weekend to determine who ends up getting to
the Big Twelve Championship. Should Arizona and Arizona State find
themselves on a collision course.
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
On Todd, how concerned should Ravens fans, be right now, before.
Speaker 9 (01:08:23):
We let you go look offensively, you knew they were
going to struggle a little bit today. I think Ronnie
Stanley being a surprise and active really dealt them, you know,
an even worse hand than what they already had. But
you look at that Ravens roster. I mean they were
down six players that all make nineteen and a half
million dollars or more coming into the game today. They're
going to need some key reinforcements back on the defensive.
Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
Side of the ball.
Speaker 9 (01:08:45):
I have to believe that Kyle Hamilton a return. We'll
see though about Rokuwandmith, Marlon Humphrey and a couple of
the other guys, because guess what, as we've seen in
the past, Look, no one is going to feel bad
for you, and you've been one of the top dogs
in a conference for as many years as they have.
People have the opportunity to kick the Ravens when they're down.
They're going to take full advantage. And I think the
losses are starting to mount quickly as they sit at
(01:09:06):
one and four, and they are going to be more
than a touchdown underdog at home against the Rams before
heading into their bye week. Before the schedule gets to
be a little bit easier going four, but still nothing
with what I've seen from that defense suggests they're going
to find comfortable victories anytime soon until they get healthy.
Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Good So thanks, Todd, appreciate it all.
Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
The extra time talk got it away was a pleasure.
Speaker 3 (01:09:26):
Nice Todd. Frohman.
Speaker 2 (01:09:26):
Here is Steve de Seger with everything that's trending in
the world of sports. Take it away, Steve Well.
Speaker 7 (01:09:32):
The Sunday Night NFL game went to the Patriots aid
Buffalo twenty three twenty on a late fifty two yard
field goal Stefan Diggs in Buffalo ten receptions one hundred
and forty six yards, but Pat's running back Antonio Gibson
did leave with a knee injury. Bill's committed three turnovers
in this one tight end Dalton Kincaid did have six
receptions one hundred eight yards, but Buffalo, with eleven penalties, had.
Speaker 8 (01:09:55):
Been four and oh now an l and in.
Speaker 7 (01:09:57):
Fact, Buffalo had gone to twenty six straight games without
losing the turnover margin. They were a minus two in
that tonight and lost at home in the white out evening.
It's been rare that we get to five weeks through
in an NFL season, non strike year, and we don't
have any five, five and oh teams. It only happened
a couple times in the last twenty years. Well, you
(01:10:19):
can tack this.
Speaker 8 (01:10:20):
Onto the list.
Speaker 7 (01:10:21):
Tampa Bay is four and one after its narrow win
at Seattle thirty eight to thirty five on a field
goal final play. Detroit four and one after a win
at Cincinnati thirty seven to twenty four.
Speaker 8 (01:10:31):
Wasn't that close.
Speaker 7 (01:10:32):
Washington beat the Chargers in a comeback twenty seven to
ten in La after trailing ten to nothing first half.
Tennessee was trailing twenty one to three at Arizona in
the first half, but still beat the Cardinals twenty two
twenty one on a field goal on the final play.
Denver and Houston each one on the road home victories
for the Colts in Carolina. Dallas beat the winless Jets
(01:10:53):
thirty seven twenty two, New Orleans and Minnesota with victories
in the Al Division series. Toronto, up two games to none,
beat the Yankees again today, thirteen to seven, Vladimir Guerrero
Junior with a grand slam. It was twelve nothing in
the fifth inning. Toronto hit five home runs in this game.
The loss to Max Freed. Seattle Tonight tied up its
best of five a game apiece, defeating Detroit three to
(01:11:16):
two on FS one RBI double bottom of the eight
for Julio Rodriguez Jorge Polanco with two home runs off
Terrek Scooble of Detroit, who did go seven innings with
nine strikeouts, but the Tigers offense was three for thirty
one in this one. NASCAR victory for Shane Van Gizbergen
his fifth straight on a road course, this time at Charlotte.
Joey Logano, the defending series champion or in the final
(01:11:38):
transfer spot to the round of eight. The playoffs continue
at Las Vegas next Sunday and in the WNBA finals.
Las Vegas leads two games to none after beating Phoenix
again ninety one seventy eight thirty two points for Jackie Young,
Asia Wilson twenty eight points, fourteen rebounds. It is a
best of seven finals. The series continues at Phoenix Wednesday
(01:11:59):
and Friday.
Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Back to you, thanks, Steve, all Right, the Seger is
coming back up here in mere moments with a rundown
of everything that we've missed Tonight as always. The best
way to get in touch with us is via the
Twitter at Stink and Genius Wan. I'm at Plank Show.
Everyone go follow us at Fox Sports Radio. Here you go.
A couple of things that I want to get to.
This is a boy. That's a lot of tweets from Jason.
Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
This is from l J. Eld Wrights.
Speaker 2 (01:12:25):
I told you before the season that Miami and the
Jets would be fighting for third place. To look out
for New England, big win on the road. New England
should be four and one, but could have been five.
And oh, stick a fork in him. They're done. Stick
a fork in the Dolphins. I think it's what he's
saying there.
Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
Yeah, I think that's what he meant.
Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Not in New England.
Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
New England three and two, and yeah, they could have
been a little bit better. Like I said, they have
everything going forward. And I love I love coach Rabel. Look,
I just love that type of attitude. Reminds me of
like coach Campbell and Detroit. That's the that's the type
of person I want coaching my team.
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Jess. Right, So I told everyone before this season started
that Geno wasn't the answer. Also, the Raiders belong in California.
Al Davis is rolling in his grave right now. Oh gosh,
I don't blame him. The Q one dumpster fire archy
is in all right. So this is the dumpster fire
rankings according to Colin. He has the Jets won, the
Giants two, the Titans three, the Browns four, and he
(01:13:22):
said that we can fight over the wretched Dolphins or Raiders.
Being number five.
Speaker 4 (01:13:26):
Wow, I thought we'd be higher on that list, to
be honest.
Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
With you, you think you should be higher on that list.
Speaker 4 (01:13:31):
More of a dumpster fire, right, yeah, exactly, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
And then let's see, there was one more. There was
one more.
Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
Here that I wanted to get to those cracking me
up a little bit earlier, whenever you were talking about
just how solid that the Patriots have looked so far
this season? Nature boy, is it too soon to start
talking playoffs for the Patriots.
Speaker 4 (01:13:53):
Especially when there's six teams with a one in four
or zero proceed So there's not going to be much
of a fight for that last playoff spot, you know
what I mean. There's a good chance you could make
it with just a one game of about five hundred.
Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
We still got a long way to go in the season.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
I'm not not ready to say that it's all going
to be everyone sitting there at like fifteen and two.
Speaker 4 (01:14:12):
No, but those six teams have already been eliminated. If
you're one in four or.
Speaker 2 (01:14:15):
Oh and five, well, I mean if you're oh and five, yes,
But I mean I'm not gonna eliminate teams in week five.
Speaker 4 (01:14:21):
Yeah, I am here, you go, I'm here.
Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
That's right, because you're the all knowing god of average exactly,
Paul Wrights. The Bills were completely out coached and out
class tonight. Mike Rabel is like Vince Lombardi compared to
the rest of the clowns in the AFC East.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
He did adds.
Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
The bills first five picks were on the defensive side
of the football. One play tonight, Brandon Bean hit oil
when Josh Allen fell in his lap.
Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
He wanted Mayfield and has.
Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
Drafted stiff after stiff since the Bills need to clean
house if they don't make the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
And people Bills fans, I should say, I've been complaining
about making changes for the longest time. Due They've enough
up there.
Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
All right. Seger's got us caught up on everything we
need to know with all the news notes and tidbits.
Next on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's that time
of the show. I believe Jason Martin dubbed it the
di segment, which I gott name. I like it. I
like it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
Steve de saga, what's going on?
Speaker 8 (01:15:17):
But I didn't come up with it. So let's just
roll with it.
Speaker 4 (01:15:20):
We are Chargers doing we do it.
Speaker 7 (01:15:22):
You don't say our We had a surprise in the
NFL tonight at Buffalo and it wasn't a Bills victory
to go to five and oh they actually lost at
home to New England twenty three twenty It is a
late fifty two yard field goal. Got it done, Stefan
Diggs still celebrating, I'm sure. After ten receptions in Buffalo
one hundred and forty six yards for the Buffalo Bills.
This was their first three turnover games since the end
(01:15:45):
of the season a couple of years ago. And we
did have some injuries to pass along. The Colts kicker
Spencer Schrader limped off with a knee injury and as
coach said afterwards, doesn't look good.
Speaker 8 (01:15:55):
That's not good.
Speaker 7 (01:15:56):
The Raiders punter aj Cole, with an ankle injury, was
carted to the locker room their game against the Colts
at the game itself was not good. We've got a
Monday night matchup Kansas City against Jacksonville and Chiefs wide
receiver Xavier Worthy downgraded to questionable for tomorrow with shoulder
and ankle injuries. Meanwhile, ankle injury for the Chargers first
(01:16:17):
round running back o'mari and Hampton he was seen in
a walking boot on his left ankle after the game,
and more offensive line injuries. They are already the Chargers
missing their two star tackles. They also missed a couple
other linemen due to injuries today, and they just didn't
get defensive pressure on Washington. The sack LA got just
(01:16:37):
before halftime wound up being literally their only hit on
the quarterback all game long. Wow, the Chargers had led
Washington ten nothing, driving for more a ten play. It
was looking like they had a six minute drive going
and then fumbled and then did nothing the next couple
of drives, and then the drive after that incomplete on
fourth down, and then the next one of fourteen played
(01:17:00):
wound up with an interception. And the penalties were a problem.
Literally from the opening kickoff penalty last week the LA
Chargers and getting upset by the Giants, committed fourteen penalties
for over one hundred yards. Today it was ten penalties
for eighty five yards and a couple of turnovers. Although,
as Daniel Jeremiah mentioned on the radio broadcast, they should
(01:17:20):
find another way to say because it wasn't just eighty
five yards and penalties. It for example, took away a
fifty seven yard punt return for a touchdown this one penalty,
so it really really cost them. They were not the
better team after quarter number one. Now in first quarters,
the Chargers are outscoring opponents thirty to ten. After first
quarters they're getting out scored eighty eight by sixty eight.
Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
By the way, the CJ Strataward goes to Jayde Daniels
this year. So I just want you to know, and
that is four just being great your first year and
then sliding down the hill for the year out game,
did you four?
Speaker 7 (01:17:58):
He ran okay today after the spray knee. You talking California.
Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
He's not having as good of a year that he
had last year he missed with an injury. Dude, he
doesn't look as good as he did last year.
Speaker 8 (01:18:11):
Hey carries thirty nine.
Speaker 4 (01:18:12):
I haven't fantasy football. I know got big numbers.
Speaker 7 (01:18:15):
That late touchdown has won my fantasy football game. That's
how stupid fantasy football is. It's just a complete garbage
cut touchdown to give you a w but there you go.
Wide receiver Terry McLaurin was out for Washington today with
his quad injury, so Deebo Samuel had eight catches ninety
six yards in a touchdown. And congratulations to LA's Keenan Allen.
He's over a thousand receptions for his NFL career. Because age,
(01:18:40):
he has done so faster than any other player in
NFL history, surpassing Marvin Harrison Senior, a Hall of Fame
wide receiver. He did so at one hundred and sixty
seven games. This was career game number one fifty nine
for Keenan Allen. His Chargers were up ten to nothing
with five minutes left in the first half. I mentioned
(01:19:00):
the penalty problems. Washington only had one first down in
the first quarter, had about twenty first downs after that.
So Harboughs defense they were allowing only about two hundred
and seventy net yards per game today. Washington had about
three ninety so in all the years that the Chargers
have been playing Washington. They'd always the Chargers had always
scored at least twenty points in a game going back
(01:19:21):
to nineteen eighty. They didn't get anything after the first
quarter today, And congrats to Denver for the comeback and
to tie the Chargers for first in the AFC West.
Now at three and two, twenty one seventeen, the final
at Philadelphia. And you know, young defensive back Quinyon Mitchell
of the Eagles already has a pretty good reputation, but
in the fourth quarter today Cortland Sutton ate them up
(01:19:43):
three catches sixty four yards just in the fourth quarter.
Mitchell previously had not allowed more than two catches in
an entire game. Congrats to rookie quarterback cam Ward with
the w in the comeback win. To be down eighteen
with a rookie quarterback and still get a win. And
it hadn't happened since Daniel Jones and the Giants had
a similar comeback in twenty nineteen.
Speaker 4 (01:20:05):
And we had a.
Speaker 7 (01:20:05):
Couple more forty burgers. Raiders, for example, lost forty to
six to the Colts.
Speaker 8 (01:20:10):
There have been.
Speaker 7 (01:20:10):
Fourteen forty point performances by NFL teams already the most
through five weeks of a season since nineteen seventy and
we had a Detroit win at Cincinnati thirty seven twenty four,
but the Lions were up twenty eight three after three quarters.
Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
Pure nomination. All right, let's get out here for hour two.
Power Hour is come up next. We'll find out what

By the way, I'm moving tomorrow, Big moving day.
Speaker 3 (01:21:18):
I wasn't even on your row.
Speaker 4 (01:21:20):
Numeral rundown it's in the Times, in the very top
of the show sheet I sent you.
Speaker 3 (01:21:25):
Well, I mean that's the I can't even read what
that said.
Speaker 4 (01:21:29):
Moving to Connecticut to modulations. Yeah, you know, our producers
like you better trick with the engineer if you're a
chansferring your equipment. I go, So, you mean, I unplug
it from the wall in my house and I plug
it into the wall to my new place. Right, is
that that's what I gotta call the engineer for like
I'm doing.
Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
You were the one that well, you're the one that
was throwing a fit about it two weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (01:21:51):
Well, you know I had to make sure wait, hold
on a second.
Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
You literally were throwing a fit about this a week ago.
I don't know my equipment, got my equipment even gonna work?
And now you're dogging Patrick for saying you should.
Speaker 4 (01:22:03):
Because I had my wife label it all before she left.
Speaker 3 (01:22:06):
This guy's giving you pointers. Man, I was like, hey, man,
just make sure.
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
Come on, man, oh, it's more on. Doesn't think I
can figure it out? Yeah, you have to have your
wife label it for you, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:22:16):
Yeah, so hopefully I'll be able to, you know, get
it all set up and no problem. By the way,
my son wants me to go watch him run the
New York Marathon next month. I'm like, come on, man,
you're gonna I'm gonna stand there. You're gonna run by me,
and that's it. Come on, really, I need to do
that like a hole.
Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
Man, you're a terrible father.
Speaker 4 (01:22:36):
Why am I a terrible father?
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
Why don't support your kid running to New York?
Speaker 4 (01:22:40):
I said, I said, if you don't plan on finishing
in the top like two hundred and fifty, then it's
truly not worth running it. He doesn't, you know? You
think so he'll finish like one thousand or two thousand, Like, oh,
what a slap in the face to our name.
Speaker 5 (01:22:54):
You couldn't even make it into the two thousand era.
Speaker 4 (01:22:59):
I mean it's I just said, run a little faster,
would you please? There's like fifty sick Listen.
Speaker 2 (01:23:03):
It's gonna be like your claiming your son is a
slap in the face to your name when you needed
your wife to label Yeah, plug on your equipment for you.
Speaker 4 (01:23:11):
I was busy today working.
Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
Oh yeah, huh, watch watching football.
Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
Yeah, well that's work, Chris, it is work. But I'm wondering,
you know, he said, he could run the marathon in
two hours and forty nine minutes, so we'll see if
he can hold up that. I think if he just
runs a little faster, you get finish in the top ten.
But yeah, it doesn't listen to me.
Speaker 2 (01:23:34):
Maybe, so well, let's uh, let's hit one of my
favorite Roman numerals. We do it every single week. Yeah,
it's Roman numeral four on this week's rundown. And it's
after week five. I know this, and uh, you want
to go ahead and.
Speaker 4 (01:23:46):
Start us off to day I do actually, because you're
not going to hear this from anybody else other than.
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
Me, Okay, Josel Smith, Wow, you should just jump on
with Jason and Mike Buddy.
Speaker 4 (01:23:57):
Does he say that a lot?
Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
Yeah? They and they break the news before anyone else. Okay, okay,
well they set the table for the rest of the sports.
Speaker 4 (01:24:05):
You're really not going to hear this from anybody else.
But what I know, this is what I know after
week five of the NFL, it's not been a very
good year. And I'm just talking about overall. Like I said,
you have six teams in the AFC that were one
in four or zero and five. I think you have
two in the NFC. I don't think it's ever been
(01:24:27):
that bad in a long time. We've seen some real
bad football, and I think a lot of that has
to do with a lot of the quarterback injuries that
we've seen so far, which I told you might be
a possibility the Daniels, as we mentioned, Purty, Lamar Jackson,
JJ McCarthy. I don't know. I think I'm missing another
one or two, but it just doesn't seem like the
(01:24:49):
stellar plays there. Even the good teams like Philadelphia the
four and one record not playing all that great, Buffalo
undefeated didn't look all that great today. San Francisco the
other four to one team, and they've got injuries like crazy.
So it really is I mean wide open out there.
Indianapolis might be one of the top three teams in
(01:25:10):
the NFL, but it's not been a great year in
the NFL right now after Week five.
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
So far, Chris, So, no one else is saying that.
Speaker 4 (01:25:19):
Other people saying that, No, I just I think it's
a terrible take. Oh really, have you looked at the
TV ratings really well? Are you telling me that I
was wrong about the zero and five and one in
four teams and all that stuff?
Speaker 3 (01:25:31):
For what I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
That I think you're wrong when you're saying the NFL
hasn't been that very good, that good this year.
Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
I think it's been fantastic this week.
Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
Well, yeah, you can gauge in on one week. It's
like looking back at last week in college football and
saying we get no big time matchups when it's.
Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
Just kind of how the schedule falls.
Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
I did you watch football today? Yes?
Speaker 4 (01:25:50):
I did? You want to watch a football A lot
of blowouts, whether or not. Oh yeah, that Raider game
just entertained me, like.
Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
One game again, one game again, out of your right,
I don't think.
Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
And I switched over to the Ravens game, and that
was very entertaining.
Speaker 3 (01:26:04):
Quarterback was out, and you would like to point to that.
Speaker 2 (01:26:06):
And by the way, which, by the way, fourteen only
fourteen quarterbacks started all seventeen games last year. There's thirty
two teams in the league. So you act like we
haven't had quarterback injuries before. We do this every single
freaking year, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:26:17):
Yeah, every Maybe this year is worse enough. I don't
know that's worse than ever. It's about the exact same
as it is every single year.
Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
I feel like This is a regurgitated Roman numeral rundown
for the The NFL is on a record pace as
the TV streaming windows have grown eight percent to twenty
million viewers. Fox currently enjoys the biggest bragging rights, where
they've averaged let's see you go back to the Super
(01:26:45):
Bowl Reamake's had thirty three point eight million viewers in
the September fourteenth national window. The numbers have been shooting
up all season long. But no, tell me again how
the NFL sucks and how it's not. I don't said
the NFL sucks. I just said we've not pretty much
what I heard some.
Speaker 4 (01:27:01):
But the TV ratings are always going to be no
matter what kind of no, they're not.
Speaker 3 (01:27:05):
They're not always gonna be up.
Speaker 4 (01:27:07):
Of course they are.
Speaker 3 (01:27:08):
No, they're not, because you inevitably you go back.
Speaker 2 (01:27:11):
There was the dip in twenty twenty, and everyone is
freaking out in twenty one. Now. I mean, you're seeing
record setting numbers that are taking place. You're telling me
that this is just oh well, yeah, it's just everyone
watches the NFL. Sure, but there's gotta be a reason
to pull them in. You gotta have compelling storylines and
good games.
Speaker 4 (01:27:29):
Yeah, but I think think what really, because it doesn't
seem like there's a lot of great teams in the
NFL so far.
Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
Again, we're still very early in the scenes.
Speaker 4 (01:27:38):
Well, this is the segment is after week five?
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
I know, is right, But then you're just basically destroying
the entire league that there's not any good teams.
Speaker 3 (01:27:46):
Do you think the Bills are good? They lost tonight
so that.
Speaker 4 (01:27:49):
They look good tonight?
Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
Hey the show tonight. Does this mean the Bills are
a bad team because they lost today?
Speaker 4 (01:27:55):
No, they're not a bad team. There's still four and one, So.
Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
Use some common sense on these areas.
Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
Wow, I'm just I'm just saying, it's like every single time,
whenever you bring it up, it's like this is terrible
and this sucks and this is awful, And I mean,
we're looking at an absolutely incredible year for viewership of
this league right now. It's amazing.
Speaker 4 (01:28:13):
How do you how do you answer the one and
four and five teams so far? Especially in the AFC.
Speaker 3 (01:28:20):
How many five teams do we have?
Speaker 4 (01:28:23):
How many one and four and five teams do we have?
Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
You just brought up five? How many only five teams
do we have?
Speaker 4 (01:28:28):
So? How many one and four and five teams do
we have? Is that? Is that the question?
Speaker 2 (01:28:31):
As one, two, three, four, five, you said, oh and five,
you got six of them. Do you want to go
back to last year and see how many we had
at this point.
Speaker 4 (01:28:39):
That were one and four and oh and five? I
bet you there wasn't six. I promise you it was.
Speaker 3 (01:28:44):
Do you haven't even researched it? How can you know?
Speaker 4 (01:28:47):
I was gonna pull it up right now? How about that?
Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Do it? It's called research instead of just writing down
Roman numerals every single I can't.
Speaker 4 (01:28:54):
Go back to that specific week. I can only go
back to last year.
Speaker 2 (01:28:58):
You can go back to the specifically. It's a crazy
thing called Google. We can go twenty twenty four NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:29:03):
I can't do that. I can't.
Speaker 3 (01:29:05):
I know that's too much. All right, after week five,
I know this.
Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
Baker Mayfield is the hands down MVP of this league
so far, and you guys in Cleveland can continue to
talk about I don't know whatever complaints you might have
or anything of that nature. Bottom line, more than anything else,
Baker Mayfield has proven that he's a starter in this league.
He's found a great fit in Tampa, and he's got
(01:29:29):
it done, and Tampa Bay is a super Bowl contender
through shows tonight. Tampa Bay is a super Bowl contender
through week five. Right now, they're four and one. They
are any business win today. But when you look at
the NFC and I guess this terrible amount of teams
that we have in the NFL. Now they are an
absolute in my opinion, they are a contender now the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (01:29:50):
If they were the Kansas City Chiefs of last year,
we'd be saying, well, they're winning the close games. That's
not sustainablet you can't do that. Sooner or later, it's
gonna catch up to you. The Tampa's four and one,
I've never seen this before. How are you four and one?
But you're differentials of plus three? That's only play games? Yeah,
but even what are you to each gate by a point?
(01:30:12):
That's just great?
Speaker 2 (01:30:13):
Pretty much? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
Pretty much? Pretty much?
Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
All right? What else you got?
Speaker 4 (01:30:18):
Uh? After week three? I know this, Maybe I was
wrong about the Dallas Cowboys. You know, offensively, they look
real good. Especially they don't even have cde Lamb around
until he gets back from his injuries. Washington does not
scare me, you know. I brought up jadon Daniels earlier.
Right now, if I was gonna play that, I wouldn't go,
oh no, we're playing Washington. I'm so nervous about that.
(01:30:40):
I actually think the second best team is Dallas, and
who knows, if they can't make a running things, maybe
you have kind of us underestimated Dallas.
Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
Hey, Arnie, how many you made a promise?
Speaker 2 (01:30:49):
Right? What was your promise that you could guarantee us
what that? There were no more than six one and
four teams at this point last year?
Speaker 4 (01:30:56):
Yes, our own five or one and four.
Speaker 3 (01:30:58):
Yet well we didn't have an own five teams. You're
right on that.
Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
But last year, after week five, New England one and four,
Cleveland one and four, Cincinnati one and four, Tennessee one
and four, Jacksonville one and four, Carolina one and four,
the Rams one and four, there were seven four teams.
Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
After Week five in just the NFC, in all of
the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:31:23):
Oh, so you're.
Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
Adding the whole thing. I just did the AFC. If
I was gonna add the you just side too. I
have the Saints that were one and four, the Giants
are one and four. So there's eight teams that are
one and four, zero and.
Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
Five Okay, so you're at seven and then how many
did you say in the NFC there were two?
Speaker 3 (01:31:40):
There were two.
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
That's the same that it is this year.
Speaker 3 (01:31:43):
So there were there is there were five in the AFC.
Speaker 2 (01:31:47):
Last year's six.
Speaker 4 (01:31:48):
Yeah, there's six now, all.
Speaker 3 (01:31:49):
Right, So it's pretty much the same as it was last.
Speaker 4 (01:31:51):
Year, pretty much, Not exactly, but pretty much. Dude, is
that a wrong take that it's not been a great
NFL year?
Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
Historic It is one of the worst cheers we've had.
It's exactly what.
Speaker 4 (01:32:09):
You've seen good great football. Even the good teams like
Philadelphia as in Buffalo, they're not playing overall in great football.
Speaker 5 (01:32:19):
There are some great games today the Panthers and the
Panthers Dolphins team was great.
Speaker 4 (01:32:26):
Bring good teams, and you're bringing up the Panthers that
geezer all right?
Speaker 2 (01:32:31):
After Week five? I know this, and I I don't
know if they'll make a change now after they set
the world on fire last week. But I don't think
it's gonna work with day Ball and the Giants now.
Jackson Dart is looking good. He's playing well. Uh, it
seems like he's the dude, but it's not massive numbers
(01:32:52):
that he's putting up. And I know that's big for
you fantasy nerds, but I think the bottom line, more
than anything else, that's probably the most intriguing coaching vacancy
right now outside of maybe Miami, because you're gonna have
to find a guy to work with Tua.
Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:33:07):
Yeah, I know you're all mad about it, and now
he's no longer your quarterback, but you're kind of stuck
financially with Tua right now.
Speaker 4 (01:33:14):
We'll trade him.
Speaker 3 (01:33:16):
I mean again, who you think he's gonna want him?
Speaker 4 (01:33:19):
Oh, we were dumb enough to want him.
Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
Well, you drafted him and you told us how great
he was for years.
Speaker 4 (01:33:24):
Now, Remember I was gonna cry if we took Justin Herbert.
Is that who it was?
Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
I was gonna you were very upset about that, But
I I it'll be interesting to see if McDaniel gets
the rest of the season. But there isn't out and
I don't know if I always look at these things
right from spo track, but you're pretty much stuck with
Tua until twenty twenty six. It says the potential out
in twenty seven, but he's not an unrestricted free agent
(01:33:50):
until twenty twenty nine years old. He's still only twenty
seven years old, so it's not like he got some
old head in there. But I interested to see with
the Giants and the Dolphins vacancies, what ends up being
more attractive because I kind of think it might be
Miami and to A but then again, the Giants with
(01:34:11):
what Jackson Dart looks like he might be. I think
it's gonna be fascinating because I don't think it's forgivable
to lose the game to the Saints like they did today.
Speaker 4 (01:34:19):
Aig names coming back. I you know, we're going to
see John Gruden coaching team, or.
Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
What if the NFL allows it unless they try to
continually stand in the way of it.
Speaker 4 (01:34:28):
That would be part of my solution because I guess
the lawsuit can go forward. So if the lawsuit can
go forward, one of my things would be, I'll ease
up if you let me get another coaching job.
Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
You're in other words, they just threw out the NFL
trying to shut it down, so that means they can
continue to move forward. And you're saying, so if the
NFL doesn't try to stand in his way, then he
would drop the lawsuit.
Speaker 4 (01:34:52):
I'm not saying drop the whole lawsuit. Maybe I'll take
it easy on you. Relax there now.
Speaker 2 (01:34:57):
Well, I mean again in the NFL might try to
fight regardless or at least tell their owners don't hire him.
But yeah, but I mean, what has John Gruden done
as a head coach that would say let's get that
guy in there? He makes funny videos on barstools, he
does does kind of thing. He wasn't a hit with
the Raiders. In fact, the Raiders kind of stunk with
(01:35:20):
John Gruden, to be honest with you.
Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
They weren't very good.
Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
And I mean he didn't even have a winning record
in any of his seasons there. Now, I think in
twenty twenty one that team made the playoffs. They might
have been a little bit better if if Gruden would
have had to resign. But what would make you want
to bring back grud right now?
Speaker 4 (01:35:38):
Well, that was just one I mean for the Dolphins,
you know what I You know, the saying I came
up with, be nasty for Nick. So you know you
like that, be nasty for Nick?
Speaker 3 (01:35:48):
He was eight and eight the only year he was
in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:35:51):
Well, but I just like the slogan, But you know,
I would like to have him for a couple of
years until I figure out what I want to do.
And I think he'd be a good stop gap there.
I think he'd like to do it for two years
and kind of you know, show everybody that he was
you know, wronged in the NFL the first time around.
Speaker 2 (01:36:07):
All Right, anywhere else you want to go with things
you learned after Week five?
Speaker 3 (01:36:09):
I got it.
Speaker 4 (01:36:10):
Well, yeah, the best the best division we thought was
going to be the best division. I she is the
worst division. It is ov R For the Cincinnati Bengals
and the Baltimore Ravens. Their seasons are done, just like
the Dolphins. Pittsburgh looks like they'll win the division, and
Cleveland's not gonna come anywhere close. That turned out the
real real dog of a division there. Three of the
teams won't even make the playoffs and only the division winner,
(01:36:32):
which will be Pittsburgh. I we'll see how far they
can go. So give Tom Win credit. He's going to
do it again.
Speaker 2 (01:36:37):
After week five. I know this. I think you have
to apologize to Kyle Shanahan because you made fun of
him a lot. For the quarterback whisperer I did. I
did make fun of him, and I don't know what
he gave Mac Jones. I don't know. It was just
a matter of him finding some confidence. A listen, I
don't think we need to go as far as saying
that mac Jones is the starter and Brock Purty is done.
(01:36:59):
I mean, I think you got it, Mark, Mark Willard
brought up a great point. If that's kind of your take,
I think you're telling on yourself that you didn't really
watch the game.
Speaker 4 (01:37:07):
But maybe he could be a starter in the NFL. Sure, absolutely,
like Daniel Jones became a starter in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
Again, Daniel Jones is the starting quarterback and what might
be the best team in the AFC right now.
Speaker 4 (01:37:17):
Maybe one hundred right on that you know, you you
mentioned how Baker Mayfield may be the MVP. I'm not
saying that Daniel Jones is the AFC MVP, but could
be a top five right now.
Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
That's there's not an AFC NFC MVP. But if for
the take of the show, for the sake of the show,
will do it.
Speaker 4 (01:37:35):
Oh, I'll come up with the r MVP.
Speaker 3 (01:37:37):
But right now he's in the mix.
Speaker 2 (01:37:39):
And I again, we we've got something that I don't
know if it's going to become a thing. We can
a week out on this program. But we get the
doubleheader on Monday Night football, which again I I we
have the doubleheader on Monday Night Football, right. We just
got Chiefs Jaguars tomorrow night. Next week we get another
(01:37:59):
one of the as a friend of mine called it,
the Wake and Bake Special. I don't really know what
that means.
Speaker 4 (01:38:03):
Wow, what does that mean?
Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
I don't know. But at eight thirty in the morning,
nineteen thirty Eastern, you get the Broncos and the Jets
next week. Uh, and then I think we have a
couple more down the Yeah you got week seven.
Speaker 4 (01:38:15):
You got kind of get used to these early yeah,
getting us.
Speaker 3 (01:38:19):
For week five.
Speaker 2 (01:38:20):
I know this.
Speaker 3 (01:38:21):
I'm loving the early morning kicks.
Speaker 2 (01:38:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:38:24):
Well that's because it's eight thirty your time, nine to
thirty my time. So you have a little breakfast, you
have some coffee, you got time to relax, you're watching
the pregame show. I dig it. I love it. Finally
something for the for the East Coast viewers. I'm kind
of curious to see how the ratings do for a
game like that compared for the late Sunday night game.
(01:38:45):
You know how it compares to the East Coast versus
the West Coast.
Speaker 2 (01:38:48):
In other words, do you use maybe bigger numbers on
the later games in the West Coast, lower numbers when
the early games in the West Coast?
Speaker 3 (01:38:57):
I think is an obvious thing, right, I just want to.
Speaker 4 (01:38:59):
See where all the viewers ship comes from and how
much of it is in the you know, west of
the Mississippi, East of the Mississippi, stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (01:39:05):
All right, Well, anything else you want to add to
your knowledge from week five? Wow?
Speaker 4 (01:39:11):
Other than that, it was a very tough week for me. No,
I just surprised. Remember when I said that the Indianapolis
coach could be the worst team in football.
Speaker 2 (01:39:19):
I didn't say they could be. You guaranteed it, And
you said they're terrible, They're awful. I can go, we
can go. But I did say Daniel Jones. I did
like Daniel Jones. I did pick him.
Speaker 3 (01:39:29):
Yeah, that was also a year ago, so I give
you credit on that one.
Speaker 4 (01:39:32):
So I was ahead of the game by that. I
was way ahead of the game.
Speaker 3 (01:39:35):
All right, let's get a break in here. It's arn't
e inn plank. By the way.
Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
Before we do, we want to give a big shout
out to the good people Strauss. During the baseball postseason,
Strauss made history as the first brand ever on the

Speaker 4 (01:40:00):
Well.
Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
Come back with your tweets next on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, Arnie a Plank here on Fox Sports Radio,
let's hit some of these tweets to the program tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:40:08):
Unless you have something else on your docket.
Speaker 4 (01:40:10):
No, no, I got it. Moving in to Connecticut, New
York City Marathon.
Speaker 1 (01:40:14):
We're all.
Speaker 4 (01:40:14):
We're all good.
Speaker 3 (01:40:14):
Now we're covering everything.
Speaker 2 (01:40:16):
Uh G, main right, what's with the Mark Sanchez stories?
What's your thoughts? Any updates? Have you read the whole story?
Speaker 4 (01:40:27):
I saw that they released a four page thing. I
read a couple of the pages of it, and I saw, yeah,
it doesn't look good, but thank god he's alive. Let's
go ahead and start there. And you are talking about
what mister meanor's right? What?
Speaker 3 (01:40:44):
No, No, there's some potential felonies in here.
Speaker 4 (01:40:47):
I thought he was being charged with three mister meanors.
What I seriously, it was a very serious situation. So
I'm glad he's going to be Okay, what I would
tell Mark Sanchez, and I'm sure he's got great attorneys.
Speaker 3 (01:41:01):
Wait to look out for the truck driver buddy that
he was attacking.
Speaker 4 (01:41:04):
Well, there's there's a couple of things. Well, Mark Sanchez
didn't have.
Speaker 3 (01:41:09):
They were all misdemeanors though, by the way, you.
Speaker 4 (01:41:11):
Work right on, and Mark Sanchez didn't have a knife.
A good attorney, I think, is going to get this dismissed.
He should call my attorney. My attorneys are like power attorneys.
I'm sure he has good attorneys, but they do stuff
like this. They do high volume cases, big name cases.
So I just think I would just keep my mouth
(01:41:33):
shut and get an attorney and get this thing thrown out.
Because there's a couple of questions I have just from
seeing the whole you know, what was being explained.
Speaker 3 (01:41:41):
Okay, he went after a truck driver that was sixty
nine years old. I mean, what more, wasn't he wasn't he.
Speaker 4 (01:41:49):
Mazed before he was stabbed?
Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
Yeah? After him?
Speaker 4 (01:41:54):
So at that point, isn't aren't you disabled and you
could pretty much get away from him when he can't see.
Do you have to and too? Do you have to
use such force or I don't think.
Speaker 2 (01:42:06):
I don't think. I don't think that's right. If you
may someone and they're still coming after you, and they're
still running towards you, do you just say ah al a.
I mean you gotta remember to mark. Mark Sanche is
big dude. I mean, this is if we watch football
with Oh he's a quarterback, he's a little guy, He's
still a beast. The person I feel bad for is
(01:42:26):
Brady Quinn because he had to sit to that stupid
Cults Raiders today.
Speaker 3 (01:42:30):
That's why I feel bad.
Speaker 4 (01:42:31):
Form Yeah, I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
I agree.
Speaker 3 (01:42:34):
Let me see here this one.
Speaker 4 (01:42:35):
By the way, how tough is that to do on
one day notice? To get up to speed? I mean,
obviously he knows football, but to get up to speed
with two teams and you know, and be prepared to
do a body tough?
Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
He did great, man, he did great.
Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
I mean uh, in all fairness, I had to turn
it off after a little bit, not because of Brady Quinn,
but because the Raiders U nature. Boy, Well we learned
this week the rams are more tortuous, torturous on their fans,
Then the Dodgers' bullpen is to their fans. Grove writes,
please add Zach Orr and John Harbaugh to the fire list.
(01:43:11):
I was brought up earlier. You know, you're looking at
the guy that's been there, whether they say sixteen seventeen years,
it's it's a long time. Maybe you reached the point
where you're like, maybe it's time to move on and
try something new. But we brought up I was talking
about the teams that were one and four, the seven
teams that were one and four last year. You might
notice one of those teams I mentioned, the Rams, won
(01:43:33):
the division, that made the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (01:43:35):
All Right, we'll see if anybody turns it around this year.
I don't see that happen.
Speaker 3 (01:43:38):
Ables were right in the mix last year too.
Speaker 4 (01:43:40):
If you were going to talk about one coach that
really needs to go and you're pretty sure is going
to be gone, who's the one coach Pete Carroll, no
care being your joking, Pete Carroll's gotta go, it's Mike McDaniel.
I would think, I, you know, Dayball and the Giants.
Speaker 2 (01:43:59):
This is not his first year, right, This isn't a
guy that's just, oh well, you got to give him
more time. And I know he won a playoff game.
I know he'd been the Vikings in the playoffs a
couple of years ago. But we're talking now about this
is your fourth season, and you're sitting there in one
and four right now, and you had one winning season
(01:44:19):
and you're a combined ten and what is it like
ten and twenty nine in your last three years? So
I kind of think day Ball might supersed McDaniel in
my book right now?
Speaker 4 (01:44:29):
Are you a mid season or wait till the end
of the year?
Speaker 2 (01:44:31):
Fire? Got it? It's season, man, get him out of there.
Try in the NFL. In college, it's tougher college. I
think it's tougher you college and all that. Yeah, you
gotta worry about recruiting, and in college you also have
to worry about guys leaving because you can't fire someone
before four weeks, right, and then that portal window opens
up whenever you fire someone. But the NFL hecky cout man,
(01:44:52):
especially if you got a good assistant that you are,
that you believe in Josh, he's been on fire tonight.
As much as I love football, the more I think
I know, the more I found out that I'm clueless,
Thanks Rams, Longhorns in State and the Buffalo Bills, PS.
Speaker 3 (01:45:07):
Baker's the real deal.
Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
Agreed.
Speaker 4 (01:45:09):
Yeah, there was a lot of upsets ide. Mean, if
you were if you're an underdog type player, you made
a boatload of money, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:45:15):
And real quick. Before the saga rolls in here, we
got many more to get to Pedro from Mexico City rights.
I've seen enough Patriots to the super Bowl. Patriots, I
look good tonight and in fact, Steve to say you's
update on the end.
Speaker 4 (01:45:27):
Had Drake by play real quick? Could Drake byplay?
Speaker 5 (01:45:30):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
He looked good? I thought he looked good. I think
it's gonna be week to week though. I mean, like
this show, you're gonna come in next weekend. If he
throws two picts, you're gonna be like, Oh, he's terrible.
He can't do it. He can't it in That's what
we do. Here's Steve di saga. With everything that's going
on today, what's up, Steve?
Speaker 8 (01:45:43):
You mentioned that Raiders game today.
Speaker 7 (01:45:45):
We're watching it and it's fourth quarter and we're thinking
they're they're gonna go for it on fourth down. Right, no, Now,
Pete Carroll became the first NFL coach in two years
to call for a field goal when you're down by
thirty seven or more in the four.
Speaker 4 (01:46:01):
Darryl Lamonica is not walking through that door, that's for sure. Wow,
you know no Plank has no idea. Daryl Lamonica.
Speaker 2 (01:46:08):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 4 (01:46:08):
The mad Bomber, the mad Bomber.
Speaker 2 (01:46:11):
Come on now, dude, shut up. I've been a Raiders
fan my whole life. I know Darryl Lamonica is, and
I know who Dan Pastorini and Kenny Stabler and Jim
Plunking and Mark. We can do this all day where
you go. My dad would go the football to me
and say it was he was the Mad Bob.
Speaker 8 (01:46:25):
You almost said Mark Wilson, but you just couldn't bring
yourself to it.
Speaker 9 (01:46:29):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
It was terrible.
Speaker 8 (01:46:31):
It was the La Raiders. I do remember him, by
the way.
Speaker 7 (01:46:34):
The NFL network had the Dublin International Series game last
Sunday morning, and that got about eight million viewers, including
streaming for Viking Steelers. But then later that day Ravens
Chiefs twenty four million viewers on a regular channel, and
then that night the Cowboys Packers tie was twenty seven
million viewers.
Speaker 4 (01:46:53):
For the record, there weren't already say that it's not
been good football this year.
Speaker 7 (01:46:57):
I just want to and yet people still watch you.
We're still I think there aren't that many good matchups.
Next week we do have forty nine ers at Bucks
each four and one, but that's almost it. Next Sunday
night is the feur and one Lions at Kansas City.
Chiefs are playing tomorrow night.
Speaker 4 (01:47:13):
But if I say that, pink jumps on my throat,
going come you say that?
Speaker 2 (01:47:19):
Now?
Speaker 7 (01:47:20):
There's two separate issues here. One are people watching and
b are their bad games? Both one and B yeah,
both of them are. There's only one NFL game tomorrow night,
but there will be two Monday night games again the
week after that. Just for the record, New England won
at Buffalo tonight twenty three twenty on a late fifty
two yard field goal. Bills had three turnovers in the loss.
(01:47:42):
They had been four and oh. Stefan Diggs in Buffalo
ten receptions one hundred and forty six yards. Patriots running
back Antonio Gibson left with a knee injury. Tampa Bay
is four and one after winning at Seattle thirty eight
to thirty five on a field goal on the final
play a Meccabuka great again. Seven catches one hundred it's
sixty three yards and a touchdown in this one, okay,
(01:48:04):
thirty nine yard or as time expires. The magical year
just continues for the Bucks. Their opener was one with
a touchdown pass or a game winning TD. I should
say with under a minute ago, the next week game
winning TV six seconds left, the next week game winning
field goal, no time left tonight I mentioned, so this
is the first team in NFL history to have your
(01:48:26):
first four wins of a season all come on game
winning scores in the final minute of regulation.
Speaker 4 (01:48:31):
They should move the goal post back to the first row.
It's too easy to hit them now. Just just moving
back to row one now event or.
Speaker 7 (01:48:39):
Just have that little camera overhead block some of the
field goals.
Speaker 8 (01:48:43):
I happened today.
Speaker 7 (01:48:44):
Baker Mayfield was not only throwing for almost three hundred
eighty yards and two scores eighty eight percent completions twenty
nine of thirty three, and his opponent Sam Darnold eighty
two percent completion.
Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
I remember what Dan Renald did that regularly. Geez.
Speaker 7 (01:48:59):
Actually, today was the first game in NFL history where
the opposing quarterbacks had that many yards and each over
eighty percent.
Speaker 3 (01:49:07):
What do you mean they? Dan Marino did it regularly.
Speaker 4 (01:49:11):
We had three hundred yards.
Speaker 7 (01:49:12):
We had over seven hundred yards passing combined with these
two and only ten in completions. The most yards passing
any game ever when you only have ten in completions
or less. Tennessee was zero to four, but quite the
comeback at Arizona down twenty one to three in the
second quarter, beat the Cards twenty two to twenty one.
Calvin Ridley was targeted ten times, had five catches for
(01:49:34):
one thirty one Cardinals with three fumbles That would include
running back of Mari de Mercado early fourth quarter a
seventy one yard run, but just before the goal line
in celebration, tossed the ball into the end zone and
Arizona loses by one. Wow Detroit four and one after
winning easily at Cincinnati thirty seven to twenty four. Jared
(01:49:56):
Goff three touchdown passes and David Montgomery.
Speaker 8 (01:49:58):
Won TV run one TA pass.
Speaker 7 (01:50:01):
Washington was down ten nothing first app but won twenty
seven to ten at the Chargers. Denver was trailing at Philadelphia,
but beat the Eagles, who had been four and oh
twenty one seventeen. Broncos outscored him eighteen nothing in the
fourth quarter, and we mentioned it on the show before.
That is not a good It's a great defense for
the Denver Broncos and they had six sacks in this one. Today,
(01:50:21):
Philadelphia's three running backs nine carries total for forty two yards.
Speaker 4 (01:50:26):
Now that's pretty good or not?
Speaker 7 (01:50:28):
Maybe I have to adjust something there. Houston got four
TD passes from C. J. Stroud and won forty.
Speaker 8 (01:50:33):
Four to ten at Bolpine.
Speaker 7 (01:50:35):
Cooper Rush was the Ravens quarterback today, three interceptions, Lamar
Jackson out with a hamstring injury, one in four record
for the Ravens. And what happened to Derrick Henry after
that great Sunday night opener Fifteen carries thirty three yards
in a short score. Today, careful Carolina was down, speaking
of Affel was down seventeen nothing to the Dolphins in
the second quarter. Came back and beat Miami twenty seven
(01:50:57):
to twenty five out two hundred yards rushing and a touchdown.
Didn't even have his he didn't have twenty yards his
whole career. Dolphins one and four to a tongue of
Iloa did have three touchdown passes, but Miami on the
ground fourteen carries nineteen yards.
Speaker 4 (01:51:12):
Where's Jim kicking? Larry Zonka and Mercury Morse.
Speaker 8 (01:51:15):
When you know Paul Warfield, don't forget Paul Warfa.
Speaker 4 (01:51:17):
He's a wide receiver.
Speaker 7 (01:51:18):
Colts forty to six over the Raiders as Brock Bauers
was out with a knee injury. The other tit that
Michael Mayer was out with a concussion. Jonathan Taylor three
TD runs Dallas led the winless Jets thirty to three
late third quarter thirty seven twenty two the final Dak
Presscott four touchdown passes. Justin Fields had tw TD passes
in the fourth quarter, but it was sacked five times.
(01:51:40):
New Orleans twenty six fourteen over the Giants, who committed
five turnovers. They're one and four. Saints were zero and
four and in London, Minnesota, with the last minute touchdown
pass beat Cleveland twenty one. Seventeen Ale Division Series. Toronto
beat the Yankees again thirteen to seven. Seattle three to
two over Detroit. NASCAR win for Shane Van Gisbergen. Las
(01:52:00):
Vegas leads the WNBA Finals two games to none, and
the University of Miami back up to number two in
the new AP College football pole, behind number one Ohio State.
Iowa State failed to number twenty two, Florida State down
to twenty five. Texas and Penn State are each out
of the AP Top twenty five entirely, and those two
were ranked one two by the preseason closers. Yeah, long
(01:52:23):
ago out so not unless they can play North Carolina
every week. The coaches still have them ranked by the
way Texas nineteen, Penn State twenty two. But the last
time we added two top ten teams fall out of
the AP pole the same week was.
Speaker 2 (01:52:37):
In the mid eighties. Back to you, thanks Steve.
Speaker 3 (01:52:39):
Have a great week, buddy, really.
Speaker 2 (01:52:41):
Stu, very very wild week.
Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
You know, Arizona was ranked number three one year and
we fell out because we lost to like one bad team,
and then we tied a bad team and we just
dropped like a rock. Well year was that nineteen eighty two,
eighty three, something like that.
Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
Gosh, all right, listen, a couple of teams where things
have absolutely fallen up.
Speaker 8 (01:53:05):
Wasn't it the Pack eight? Back then?
Speaker 2 (01:53:08):
The Pack I don't think, because usually we have on
the Roman numeral rundown.
Speaker 3 (01:53:14):
I don't know if I think it was number two.
Speaker 2 (01:53:16):
Maybe it was teams who season came to an end,
teams who saved their season number five five, Okay, Anyway,
things absolutely fell apart for the Raiders, the Jets, the Ravens,
and I put a question mark behind the Bengals because
their defense looked pretty good. And if you look at
the schedule that's coming up, you know, hey, they've got
(01:53:39):
the Jets here in a couple of weeks. They do
have to go to the Packers next week, but I
think that they could actually do some things if they
could get a QUARTERBA quarterback. They didn't turn the ball over.
So walking through that door, are you just on old
quarterbacks and old baseball players? They got they gotta do something?
(01:53:59):
Since I told you this last week, and.
Speaker 4 (01:54:02):
You're like, well, you know, Jake Brownie, he can do it.
So let's see what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:54:05):
You told me that last week. That's what I did, Arnie.
Speaker 2 (01:54:10):
I was listening to Jonas Knox's show, who was listening
to our show, and he even said, I brought it
up to you on this program that if the Bengals
don't win on Monday Night, maybe they put themselves in
the market to try to find another quarterback, but I
was whomever anyone better than what Jake Browning is doing.
But no, no, you take the credit for that, right,
(01:54:31):
I will take the I'll take the credit for that.
Teams who kept hope alive. I though Washington, I thought
that was a pretty big win for them, with the
way things started.
Speaker 3 (01:54:41):
Whenever the Commanders came from behind to be the.
Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
Chargers, I think the Broncos and I'm not gonna say
they needed to win today. I didn't think that was
the case. But to see the way they took care
of business against Eagles was pretty impressive. And even though
I don't know, there's a party that thinks Carson Wentz
might be better than JJ McCarthy, but the Vikings, even
though the Browns are bad, to win, I thought that
was a pretty big day for the Vikings too, to
kind of keep hope alive. And what is a quickly
(01:55:06):
quickly distancing NFC. What is at North I.
Speaker 4 (01:55:09):
Would say the Cowboys too. I mean, they lose that game,
they go to one to three and one, and in
that division, that's gonna be very tough. Big victory. They
took care of what they had to do. They dominated
the Jets in that game, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
Yeah they did. They had full control. And now the
Jets fold oh and five and they become the first team.
I saw this on one of the aggregators twitter feeds,
but one of the first teams ever to be zero
and five and not have a takeaway four. I saw that.
Speaker 4 (01:55:35):
Yeah, I saw this year.
Speaker 2 (01:55:36):
All right, quick break, we'll come back, wrap it up.
Ben Maller coming up next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Long day, Great day, Mary Mac. I feel like I've
been listening to you, at least being talked about all
day long. I'm here at Fox Sports Radio. You're very popular.
Awesome job by Patrick Sweeko with the updates and getting
us caught up with Todd Furman. Speaking of the updates,
(01:55:57):
Steve di Sega, amazing is always in the millions and
millions of editors behind the scenes who up make this
show possible. With all the audio that I did not
play tonight, but you know when you'll hear it, big
Ben malorshow coming up next year on Fox Sports Radio.
I got a few tweets that I want to get to.
I feel like I'm missing something here. Oh Arniese picks.
All right, State genius, take it away? What you got
(01:56:18):
for us in the week? Coming up here at a
well busy football week. You know it's my favorite weekend.
Don't you put me in the mood. Give me a
little music. You know what weekend it is, don't you?
We have it every year. It's upset Saturday.
Speaker 4 (01:56:31):
You know that's my favorite time, Chris, So let's get
right at it. Illinois don't want the fourteen and a half,
don't need the fourteen and a half. They are going
to upset the Ohio State. Buck guys, you like that one? Uh, Missouri?
Is that game in Columbus or is it in Champagne?
It's in Champagne.
Speaker 2 (01:56:51):
Oh okay, maybe there's a chance.
Speaker 4 (01:56:54):
Missouri don't want the three and a half, don't need
the three and a half. I'll take the three and
a half. They're going to beat Alabama. Well that's kind
of a small line, but a lot of respect from
Missouri out there. How about my Oklahoma Sooners? How about
my Oklahoma Sooners?
Speaker 2 (01:57:10):
Dude, just give the pick. Okay, I don't need this
right now. I don't want to hear about you jinxing
my team. This weekend. But go ahead.
Speaker 4 (01:57:16):
I don't want the two and a half. I don't
need the two and a half. I'll take the two
and a half. Give me my Oklahoma Sooners to beat Texas.
Who you picking in that game?
Speaker 2 (01:57:32):
We'll see. I'll make my mind up later this week.
I do think John Mattier is gonna play.
Speaker 4 (01:57:36):
Though, oh in front because he was injured. I thought
he had surgery. Did he not have surgery? Wow, I'm
gonna take sources. I'm gonna take USC minus one and
a half against Michigan. That's gonna be a good game.
BET's coming in under the radar, and I don't want
the two and a half. I don't need the two
and a half. I'll take the two and a half.
My Arizona Wildcats to beat BYU and take the lead
(01:58:01):
for the Big Twelve Championship.
Speaker 3 (01:58:03):
You won't. You won't have the lead for the Big
twelve Championship.
Speaker 4 (01:58:06):
Go ahead kind of anyway.
Speaker 3 (01:58:08):
I don't eve think they're in your mind.
Speaker 4 (01:58:10):
Yes, Monday night, give me Jacksonville plus the three advaganst
Kansas City. Actually think Jacksonville wins that game, and I'm
gonna take the Giants plus seven and a half. Against Philadelphia,
and I think the Giants actually win that game. So
there you have my picks too with them, misge please
no longer strictly for entertainment purposes.
Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
Are you're taking the Giants next week? Already?
Speaker 4 (01:58:33):
Seven and it's a third? That's the Thursday game, right, Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:58:38):
The Giants? The Thursday game is the is the Giants
this week?
Speaker 4 (01:58:41):
So just Giants?
Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
Philadelphia kind of surprised that you are you Are you
taking them on the money line or you just taking
the points?
Speaker 1 (01:58:47):
Well?
Speaker 4 (01:58:48):
Both? I like the seven and a half, but I
think they win the game outright. Wow, that's yeah, it's
upset Saturday, upset Sunday. I love it.
Speaker 3 (01:58:55):
Well, that would be Thursday, but I am.
Speaker 2 (01:58:59):
A couple of quick before we get out of here. Yeah,
you can always find us even when the show's done
at Stinking Genius one and I'm at Plank Show.
Speaker 3 (01:59:05):
Arn't he's moving tomorrow, So.
Speaker 2 (01:59:07):
Connecticut, I'm sure you would like your well wishes, Preston Rights.
The Ravens season is over, go look at the upcoming
strength of schedule.
Speaker 3 (01:59:15):
Have you looked at the upcoming strength of schedule for
the Raves?
Speaker 4 (01:59:18):
No? But it is it's still v are there one
and four. They're not going to rebound from.
Speaker 2 (01:59:22):
That same thing said, by the way, about the Rams
last year, and they still made the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (01:59:26):
I don't remember saying it was over for them though.
Speaker 2 (01:59:29):
So you didn't have it over for them, but you
have it over for the Ravens. Yes, here's the next
here's the next few weeks for Baltimore. They've got the Rams,
they got the Bears, they go to Miami, they go
to Minnesota, and they go to the Browns, and they
get the Jets and the Bengals and back of the backs.
Speaker 4 (01:59:43):
That's so easy.
Speaker 3 (01:59:43):
That's not bad at all, to be honest with you. Well,
good point. Preston Eric writes.
Speaker 2 (01:59:49):
What I know is there is no question that Justin
Jefferson is the best wide receiver in the NFL. He
averages over ninety five yards per game in his eight
or nine starting quarterbacks in his five year career.
Speaker 3 (02:00:00):
That's pretty true, man. He has.
Speaker 2 (02:00:03):
And then Paul rights, if the Ravens move on from
Jim Harbaugh, the Bills should fire McDermott immediately and go
hire him. Think he's right, Hey, there are certain coaches
that if they're on the market, if their teams move
on from them. They're not going to be out there
very long. And John Harbaugh is one of them. We've
voice said it about Mike Tomlin. That's probably another one.
(02:00:23):
I think even in college, if this Penn State tried
to move on from James Franklin, or if Dabbo and
Clemson couldn't come to agreement, they'd.
Speaker 3 (02:00:31):
Have a job the next day.
Speaker 4 (02:00:32):
Oh yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (02:00:34):
I mean there's places like Arkansas and UCLA and Virginia
Tech and even Oklahoma State that would do anything to
get them. All right, Arnie, have a good week. See Mary,
y'all have a great one. Big Ben his next straight
here on Fox Sports Radio.
