Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Live in the Dream
once again. Here on another fully loaded NFL Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
This is End Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios are about to
kick off seven games. Cardinals at the Colts, Chargers at
the Dolphins, Patriots at the Saints, Browns at the Steelers,
Cowboys at the Panthers, Seahawks at the Jaguars, and Rams
at the Ravens and VJ. How does Aaron Glenn still
have a job after what happened today in that Jets

(00:34):
Broncos debacle in London. I'm sorry. Look, Aaron Glenn, great player,
at some point you got to show some aptitude as
a head coach and that was an absolute abomination today
from the Jets coaching staff. And you can see the
frustration spilling out as far as the players are concerned

(00:55):
right now.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
What the hell's going on?

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Will explain to me how you can go into a half,
have a fake punt that is successful and then stand
there and watch the clock run out. I mean, I've
never seen Kurt Warner on the NFL networks the way
he goes the words. There are no words, there are
no words. I mean, what are you doing.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
If you're Eric Glenn Steady, then what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
You see Garrett Wilson lost it. He's like, what are
you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Coach?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
What are we doing out there? This is the kind
of how about how about they call the time out
and then punt it out of a timeout?

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I mean, these are the kind of.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Things that spell the idea that whatever whatever you think
about an individual, some are made to be head coaches.
You've got to have a command of your team. Aaron
Glenn has lost his team.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Man. First of all, how you doing, buddy? What's doing great?
How are youngstanding?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
See?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
I'm fired out. That's why I'm looking at you.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
I'm irustrated when I watch the NFL. This is football
at its highest level, So Paul, And when you have
people in charge that seemingly have no clue of what
they're doing, it's very frustrating.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yeah, it's frustrating, man. And I tell you this. Kurt Warner,
who you and I go back and forth about Kurt Warning, Yeah,
your guy Kurt all the time. But he was he
was dead on if VJ verdisk is very very very
seldomly lost for words. I'm very I got an answer
for everything. Whether people like it or not. I got

(02:28):
an opinion about everything, I got an answer for every thing.
But I do not have an answer or a response
for what I saw. And if you've been listening to
Fox Sports ready a long enough, you guys know I
never call them the Jets. I had another name for them,
and I've been trying to hold off on it because
this is a different show, different day, different times, a

(02:48):
lot different listening. There is different things different You have
to be in a chameille and you got to be
adjustable in this business. You really do you think you can
just come in and just be You gotta kind of
read the room sometimes, and I'm on the Vergil pull
it back out. But if you all remember what I
used to call them, that's look I've been saying it.
This is who they are. When people show you who

(03:09):
they are, believe them. Now. Am I on the train
of fire air? No, that's dumb, that's dumb. This is
not a good football team. They have a quarterback that
is a placeholder. And we know in this league, if
you don't have a QB, you've got zero shot, You've
got zero chance. And I like justin fields, there's a

(03:31):
lot of people do, but you just don't have any
connection with him in the quarterback between Justin Filds and
the receivers. You had the same thing last year. You
fired your coach, you fired people, you cut people, You
told Aaron Rodgers the goal away, and they got guys.
Here's the thing, they got players. They got guys that
could play in the NFL or they wouldn't be in
the NFL. If you can't play in the NFL, you're

(03:52):
not there. So hey, listen, long story short, I don't
have an answer. They're the Jets. This is what they're
gonna be all year long. Sit back. I think a
bigger story in this game was what the Broncos looked
like starting to look like last week. And I know, Boat,
we'll talk about the Eagles and all. It's starting to
look like last week was more of the Eagles than

(04:15):
it ever was. A fourth quarter of fifteen points.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I mean, like I said, I I was all on
on the Broncos, and right now they're sitting there at
four and two.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yeah, but and it's ugly four and two.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Bo Nicks is going backwards, not forwards in his game.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Right now.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
They don't have much of a running game. By the way,
final stat of the day for the Jets. Because Justin
Fields was sacked nine times nine sacks, they ended up
with negative ten net yards passing, forty five yards passing
forty five yards passing minus fifty five yards and sacks.

(04:51):
That's the negative ten yards net passing for the New
York Jets. So the Broncos survived. They looked ugly, but
the Jets, Wow.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
The Broncos. Broncos can't do any They can't run the ball.
One seventy four nineteen thirty foot bow Knicks and JK.
Dobbins fourteen forty Well again, JK.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Dobbins, we gave up for dead a couple of years ago,
and he got revived with the Chargers a year ago.
I thought that was sort of a one year deal.
So Denver. Denver is really struggling right now. I mean,
I'll give it to the Jets defense. At least they
showed up despite the complete ineptitude of their offense.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
All Right, So we got.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
These games going on right now, and one game is
the long time much anticipated quarterback showdown between Aaron Rodgers
and Dylan Gabriel. Okay, this way we've been ways for eons.
By the way, the Steelers are moving on their opening
drive right now, so we'll keep an eye on this game.

(05:44):
But you know, if the Steelers win this game and
as rough in as for the Ravens, they're underdogs obviously
against the Rams today, you know, the Bengals are scrambling.
I mean they're gonna start Joe flaccol I mean, I mean,
I mean Jake Brown was so bad as a backup.
They had no choice. So they're just handing the ball
to Joe flaccoy as what two days to learn their offense.

(06:05):
So the Steelers, if they can win today at home
against the Browns, they're starting to lap the NFC North,
lap the NFC North.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Yeah, this is turning out to be. And you and
I talked about this. We thought this was gonna be
a very strange season. We used that word because we
just there. I don't I don't remember a year where
we came into where we had so many honest question
marks about teams that have a quarterback and have a
good coach and have good players, and we just didn't
we didn't know what to think of Jacksonville. They're sitting

(06:36):
at four and when they can go to five to one.
We had no idea what they think about the forty
nine ers. The forty nine ers are in first place
one like and and, and they're playing backups at everywhere.
They have backup receivers, back up to quarterback, backup, tight end, backup, linebacker,
backup corners. They're playing a lot of backups and they're winning.
But then you see a team like the Ravens, they're
playing a lot of backups and they're WONN four.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
It's it's this day is all over the Matt ma
Baby mentioned that, because then it comes down to coaching.
When you have next man in, you got to figure
it out. Kyle Shanahan is figuring it out with the
forty nine ers. The guy that I always talk about
being overrated, John Harbaugh, has yet to figure it out.
By the way, what kind of odds could you have
had VJ before the season if I were to tell

(07:17):
you going into week six the Colts would be the
one seed in the AFC and the Chiefs would be
the ten seed.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Nobody so only man and would have had that page.
So there you go. They need to make her an
embassy leader or something of that country.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Daniel Jones is the quarterback of the one and by
the way, let's let's stop with the Colts for a
second here. So the Colts right now, obviously in their
game at home against the Cardinals, the Colts are for real, folks.
If you haven't figured this out, they are for real.
Daniel Jones has the number one QBR in the NFL,
number one, and Jonathan Taylor is the number one rusher

(07:58):
in the NFL. So when your quarterback number one in QBR,
you're running backs to the number one rusher in the league,
you are for real. They have that offensive front. Their
defensive front has been a big surprise. Well who are
they beaten? Well, they've beaten four of the five teams
they face. That's the way that right. So yeah, the
idea because we's been so what one of the Colts
gonna wake up?

Speaker 2 (08:18):
This team is legit.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
I mean, injuries can always be a factor, but believe me,
the Colts right now are one hundred percent legit.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
And the Colts are the first team on the board
with a touchdown today. I believe that's Tyler Warren.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
It is yes, it is there.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
It is Tyler Warren, the rookie out of Penn State
getting on the receivent of Oh that's right, Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Oh yeah, let me throw another team out here too. Jacksonville, guys,
Jacksonville Now did Did the Chiefs spin up on themselves
Monday night? Yeah? But that that's the NFL. The Eagle
spin up on himself last Sunday in the fourth Quartery
gave him fifteen points to airteen that couldn't move the
ball on the team that only must have thirteen points
against the Jets. Today, this we need to I think

(08:57):
we're at the point where we could kind of get
out of the are their series? Are they by week six?
Week seven? We're past the four right, first four plus one?
I think at this point we could kind of look
at these teams and say, all right, this is just
kind of who they are. Maybe one of these one
and fourteens can grab one today. You think the Dolphins
can get one at home? Or do you think the uh,

(09:18):
the Ravens can get one at home against the Rams?
As the Dolphins get a personal foul on a made
field goal.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Wow, maybe Chargers made Dicker made a fifty eight yard
field goal. But there's a person who found the Dolphins,
So they're taking the points off the board and the
Chargers will retain the ball on.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
This opening you gotta score card down now.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
By the way, opening drive for Daniel Jones six of
ege sixty two yards under touchdown to Taylor. And this
guy is on fire right now, which means they're letting
them do.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Come on, eight pass its hips on the first driving
you got to Taylor, John Ted one carry three yards.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
So their game plan against the Cardinals are going to
go right down the field, throw the ball. We're no
way passes one run.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
We're gonna put the ball in our QB's hands. Who
has the number one QBR and pass passive rating the
lead today. This is what we're gonna do. Yeah, and
I get it, because why why try to reinvent the wheel?

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Well, I'll tell you what. Shane Steikeen is a guy
that I got to know when he was an assistant.
The Chargers had Nick Sirianni and Shane Steikeen is assistance
when I was still in San Diego, and the very
different personality. Steichen's a very you know, to the book
type of guy. Sirianni's always been a weirdo. I mean
he's always out there. But obviously both very successful coaches.

(10:26):
Although now you know Bo Benson, he's he's ready to
say I told you so about Sirianni, I told you
so about Jalen Hurts. It is time to do an upgrade. Yes, am,
I speaking out of turn right now?

Speaker 5 (10:39):
See do you want to do the new segment with
a player?

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Oh foe was right? Wow? The bow was right? News segment?

Speaker 1 (10:49):
All right? So is this where you're jumping in on?

Speaker 5 (10:52):
I mean, I just to quote Jason Smith, I hate
to say I told you so, but boy, you love
to say you told Does the Eagles look bad?

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Well we talked about therefore no start easily could have
been zero to four. They were all one score games,
then they collapse in that fourth quarter against the Broncos,
and then they get blown out of the building by
the rookies Jackson Dart and Cam Scataboo.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
My question today is what exactly does Nick Sirianni do
because the vibes in Philadelphia are atrocious with that postgame
interview from AJ Brown, and my question next week will
be what exactly does Jalen Hurts do because he was
awful in that game against the Giants.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
I mean they've abandoned their running game to.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Do is put eight defenders in the box and Jalen
Hurts camp beat you with his arm.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
How about this.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Saquon Barkley is thirteen in the league and rushing right now,
having played one more game than amNY one else. Yeah,
averaginga whopping three point four yards and carry its longest
run vaj is eighteen yards. So the two thousand yard man,
the superstar that we were talking about at the end
of last year. Because of changes in the offensive line,
in at play calling, whatever it is, they have completely

(12:04):
abandoned the running game at Sakuon Barkley is on a
milk carton right now, missing in action.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
So I was in Philly this past week as I
was traveling back. He's visiting family and going to see
my eighty eight year old grandmother. What's up, Grandma, I
missed you. I love you. Shout out to Grandma Ambry Spearman.
But yeah, man, she's tremendous. Her eyes lit up when
I walked into the retirement home and she saw me
within three seconds. I got something out of Philly that
that they won't report, and I'm not sure why it

(12:32):
hasn't been reported, but I apparently Saquon's dealing with some
type of some type of banged up, some type of
injury that they don't they haven't put them on. I
haven't seen them on any type of injury reports or
anything like that. But that was just the word when
I reached out to some of the Philly connects that
I have out there in the sports world, and the
offensive line is is really banged up. I'm not I'm

(12:52):
not selling a farm on a four and two team
in Week six. That's just not my style. I'll wait
until more things play out. I thought the short turnaround
and then of course the Giants had a short turnaround
also too. But the Giants also really blew that game
against the Saints. I thought they had a little more juice.
They lost to the same yea, they lost to the Saints.

(13:14):
And Saints are up right now three to zero.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
So up, actually they're down seven to three. Threw a
seventy fifty three yard touchdown pass to Mario Douglas seven
Pats one in.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Sixteen instead of Vj's over seventeen. All right, fine, But
like I said, I'll wait to sound the horn on
the Philadelphia as far as what they need to do.
And I said this last week. I just think it's
time to trade a J. Brown. It's just time if
if he is truly the energy killer, the cancer. Honestly,
you gotta get rid of You can't have it around.

(13:46):
It's never worked out like that. What is it? What
Philly and receivers?

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Well, again, you can't have it around if you don't
have a head coach that can squash it.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
Yeah, that's the whole.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
You have to squash that if you're a head coach
and Siriani is either not willing or incapable of squashing
the cancer that has become AJ Brown in the locker room.
All right, we're just getting started here, folks. We got
scores for you, we got stats, we got seven games
going on right now, and yes we'll break it down
with our analysis as well. This is end Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Over the Dolphins three nothing, Patriots lead the Saints seven
to three, Steelers three nothing over the Browns, Cowboys and

the Ravens. There's been a lot of buzz with what

(16:07):
appears to be a lost season, and I was listening
to our buddy Jeff Schwartz. He thinks the Rams are
gonna win in a route today where right now the
Ravens hanging in early three and nothing leading. And by
the way, a guy that we haven't seen show up
a lot in first halfs this year has shown up
in a big way early Derrick Henry six carries forty
yards already as we are halfway through the first quarter.

(16:30):
He must have heard me, would you trade Derrick Henry?
Because right now there's a lot of buzz. I saw
schefter putting out that there could be huge activity in
terms of trades once we get to the trade deadline
the first week in November. There could be a lot
of names traded and we'll see, because this is going

(16:50):
to be a hard year to predict, VJ. When you're
at that trade dyning line, are we buyers, are we sellers?
Are we in it or not? It just seems like
almost everybody saved the Jets. It's gonna be very much still.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
In this even as we get toward the end of
this month. I know, I think, listen, Adam Chefti's got
a job to do with a lot of people in
this business, and they have to They have to put
out fillers and put out stories to keep our interests
in things of that nature. I would just say this,
and I pulled it up. I'm waiting for it to
load up here on my iPad. Just tell me the
last trade deadline deals that shifted a season in the NFL.

(17:27):
Here's okay, so right there, this isn't the NBA, and
this isn't Major League where you go get a closer
that you really needed and he can close Game five
of the NLCS and then he closes Game six of
the NLDS and you go, see, that's why you went
and got that guy. I just I'm not gonna be hyperbolic, guys.
I said this at the beginning of the year, and

(17:48):
I'm gonna stick with it. I'm not gonna be hyperbolic.
And a few weeks makes me go oh my god,
break you know, break up the farm. The only guy
I think probably needs a change of scenery. And I
think the fans know it. He knows it, the coaching
staff know it. In anybody with any good sense in
this business knows it would be aj Brown. I think
it will help all parties involved and move and just

(18:09):
move on. Rip the band aid off, don't slowly tear off.
And tell my daughter Journey all the time, who loves
to put band aids on everything. If if it looks
like a sore or booboo, Journey's gonna go get the
band aids, even for Daddy and put band aid's on it.
But I have to tell her, Honey, just snatch it off.
Don't peel it off slow. It's gonna hurt. You're gonna
start crying, Daddy. I don't want you to cry, So snatch

(18:30):
it off. In Philly. But you're training, you're training Derek Harry.
My thing is here is you're training them for what
what you were like? Why why you have to tell me?
Why why would you give up a ball?

Speaker 1 (18:40):
First of all, you're not gonna get value for Derrick Henry.
I mean, he's got a big price tag. He's a
thirty plus year old running back. What do you expect me?

Speaker 2 (18:47):
What are you trading him for a fourth round pick?
Come on the Rams?

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Okay, you know I'm watching this Rams offense right now,
and you feel like Matthew Stafford feels rasher to get
the ball to Devonte Adams, right, I mean he just
he's targeting him on every single play. The plays were
not open. And now the Rams just missed a field goal.

(19:12):
Give me shot. Twenty five yard field goal hits the upright.
So Cardi who has been under fire, not all his
fault because their blocking has been atrocious, but on a
twenty five yard field goal attempt, yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Off the upright show. I'm sorry three nothing, Ravens.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
But you know I'm watching Matthew Stafford right now trying
to force things to get the ball in the hands
of Devonte Adams.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Well, like we talked about this last week, and Cam
Newton said it when he was talking about other quarterbacks
in his leagues, and mainly to a tape of a
looa with Tyreek Haill going down. Is a lot of
quarterbacks will never verbally admit this, but when you have
a big personality or big time are a diva w

(19:58):
R one there is. It is an unspoking kind of
pressure and focus to get them the football number one.
They're your number one guy for a reason. They're probably
really dope. They're probably really good at catching passes and
score touchdowns. Fine, but if that's not what the defense
dictates to what you're supposed to do. You're supposed to

(20:18):
throw to the open guy. And I understand, well, just
throw it up to him where everybody ain't Maggie Drawn,
everybody ain't Randy Moss. You know what I'm saying that
you can just throw passes up to and they can
just jump fifty inches and go grab it over every
corner that's ever played football, Randy Boss has one of
the great one handers over Charles Woodson if you remember,
right on the side and Charles woods is in perfect position.

(20:40):
If Randy Watson is the only receiver that would have
ever caught that over Charles Woodson. But you, this is
the way it does go. I feel you, But why
do you have to force it to him? I have,
By the way.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
He has yet to even be targeted in this game,
So I mean, what the hell's going on there? Your
guy to a tongue by low one to three five
yards and a pick.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Yeah, I saw the pick already.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
Hey, I do just want to say something before you
guys totally move off. The trade deals. The Rams getting
von Miller is probably why they won the Super Bowl
that year he changed.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
That is true.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
I mean they made a lot of trades and they
sacrificed a lot of draft picks showed themselves as.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Happen over time. Schefter mentioned in that article today that
the wave of younger gms that we have in the
NFL are more willing to to make trades. So I
think we may be seeing something more akin to what
we do see in the NBA.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
And but again, you still have to identify yourself whether
you well you're a playoff contender or.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Right now, if you're the Ravens and you lose this game,
you follow what one in five.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
Yeah, it's also tough because you have enough contenders out
there too, like that will still get banged up through
the course of the season. I go back to last
year for like the Lions and obviously didn't work out
for the playoffs, but like they went to god Zadarius
Smith the middle of the year because they were clearly
hurting on on their on their edge, and that's that
helped keep them afloat to the tune of fifteen wins

(21:55):
for that season too, Like you just got to make
the moves if you if you feel like you're good enough,
but they're a blemish somewhere where you've got an injury
piled up, you've just got to make the move.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Well, the teams don't make moves to win fifteen games.
Teams make in season. If you make an end season move,
you must.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
They were making that to win, to win fifteen games,
that were making it so they'd at least have a
standard roster to go there.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
But still like fifty like we can't. They didn't. They
didn't want one seat. They wanted the one seed, and
they got the one. We can dismiss a fifteen seed
if you don't get to the super Bowl, you got
fifteen er also during that season too, you don't make
it to a super Bowl. Were just if we're going
to make the super Bowl?

Speaker 4 (22:29):
The only point ever, no matter what, then thirty one
teams fail and and should be fair differ and that's
the way it is. That is a fail we got,
but we got to the Buffalo Bills again accompass something
that's only been done once. They went to four strate
Super Bowls, which is an amazing accomplishment. To win four
consecutive AFC championships. They are bond who cares well they

(22:53):
failed because they didn't win a Super Bowl. But to
just use nuance there to talk about the Bills. But
then somehow we're not supposed to have That's the way
the NFL works, why.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
It works always has always well, no, no, we don't
need to say that it's an acci We could be
smarter than that. We can no, because again, it's like
what happened to the Lions a year ago. They had
a great regular season, that's not what we remember.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
We remember them going belly up to a rookie quarterback
and getting blown out of their building by the Commanders.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
We're also talking about this in the context of a trade,
and like when you make the trade, you don't know
that this is a garn sheeed, but I go to
the Super Bowl you don't, but just make if you can't.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
But as you just said, I mean when when you
talk about the Rams and what they did in twenty
twenty one, they made a deal deals that ended up
winning a Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Here's another thing, asks Kyle Shanahan. It doesn't matter that
he's gone to two Super Bowls. I mean you talk
to the players the trade deadline conversation. Yeah, no, no,
but this is a trade. This is a conversation of
making moves.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
That conversation, we'll do it on coming up a little
bit later on, but right now, because I believe Jonathan
Vilma is going to be joining us, get a little
preview of that much anti ditsicipated Titans Raiders match up
later today. But first let's find out what is a
trending right now? Hello, mon, how are you today?

Speaker 10 (24:10):
So good?

Speaker 5 (24:11):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (24:12):
I'm doing scored for you?

Speaker 10 (24:14):
He did? He did.

Speaker 11 (24:15):
So it's VJ and I are against each other today,
you know, Chargers and Dolphins, so like.

Speaker 10 (24:19):
We're enemies right now.

Speaker 11 (24:21):
But I have mixed feelings because I've devon a Chan
on my fantasy.

Speaker 10 (24:24):
So that's how that's how I'm feeling right now.

Speaker 11 (24:26):
But let me tell you how Miami got the ball
to score a forty nine yard rushing touchdown Devon eight Chan.

Speaker 10 (24:31):
It was because Titan Rondez Gatsden. I don't even know
who that is.

Speaker 11 (24:36):
On the Chargers caught a pass from Justin Herbert fumbled,
Miami got the ball which led to the rushing touch.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Really, quiz, I'll tell you exactly your guess. It is
his dad. His dad well paid for the Dolphins. They
got him from the Arena League.

Speaker 10 (24:49):
I knew his dad played.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
I was like, I didn't even know you were a Charger, you.

Speaker 11 (24:52):
Know what I'm saying, Like, but yes, you guys need him.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Got a lot of injuries. We got a lot of injuries.

Speaker 10 (24:57):
Seven three. Dolphins over the Chargers in the first.

Speaker 11 (25:00):
Daniel Jones connecting with Tyler Warren Colts over the Cardinals,
who are playing without Kyler Murray seven zero. Late in
the first the Saints added another field goal to cut
their deficit to one against the Patriots, New England up
seven to six. Also late in the first, Steelers over
the Browns three zero. Panthers and Cowboys tied at three apiece,
but the Cowboys are knocking on the door to score.

(25:21):
Also late in the first quarter, Seahawks Jags. They are scoreless.
Jaguars are approaching the red zone with two minutes to
go in the first, and the Ravens over the Rams
right now three zero.

Speaker 10 (25:30):
Also late in the first quarter.

Speaker 11 (25:32):
College football news, Oregon State has fired coach Trent Bray
in the wake of their zero to seventh start. And lastly,
here as the American League Championship Series starts today at
eight Easter between the Blue Jays and the Mariners. Toronto's
gonna be without Boba Sheep, but they did add Max
Scherzer and Chris Bassett to their roster. Seattle added ace
Brian wu Back to you guys.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
All right, mind, see, thank you very much. We'll check
in with you a little bit later on. By the way,
the Jaguars just got a touchdown pass to take an
early six to nothing lead here over the Seattle Seahawks.
Let me just check this one out. That was Brian
Thomas Junior on the receiving end of the touchdown pass
from Trevor Lawrence. So again, the Jaguars taking advantage of

(26:15):
a very favorable schedule where they have all these home games.
And speaking of home games, the Raiders have a home
game today. The question is are the results going to
get any different? Jonia's right now and talk about the
matchup later this afternoon between the Titans and the Raiders.
One of our favorites out there does as great a
job as any analyst in the NFL. The great Jonathan

(26:36):
Viillma is joining us right now. So Jonathan I was
one of those big proponents of the Raiders hiring Pete Carroll.
He brings in Chip Kelly, his offensive coordinator, Geno Smith,
the veteran quarterback. I can say they have definitely upgraded.
They're not upgraded. It has been a disastrous start for
the Raiders offenses. Geno Smith has become a turnover machine.

(26:59):
What is going on of the Raiders right now? Is
this fixable?

Speaker 3 (27:04):
To answer the second part, yes, it is fixable. What's
going on with the Raiders is similar to a lot
of first year regimes where you got to turn over
the culture. You got to get everybody on the same
page and just quickly tack back and memory lane. Pete

(27:27):
Carroll was six and six his first year at USC
and he was seven and nine two years in a
row his first two years in Seattle. So I just
want to give it a little time. I want to
see the change it's going to be. You know, I
don't want to say tough or rough or difficult, but
challenging and in this day and age, the difference is

(27:50):
that everything is so immediate, right. We get all the
information now instantly, But we got to remember it took
a little time for him to build those those programs,
and I think he gonna do the same thing here.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Jonathan Vilma VJ. Verner Husky. First time I'm speaking with you.
I love your work you do with fox Man a
great linebacker, and you're playing days too, man, so I
joy to speak with you. The question I got for
you is right up your alley because you've been in
these locker rooms. You've been in these situations, and you've
been with teams where you have a horse man, you got,
you got a dog to hand the rock to twenty five,
twenty six, twenty seven times, go get you a buck,

(28:22):
ten buck, twenty couple of tds take the pressure off
the quarterback and keep the defense on the sideline longer.
So you guys are more pressure. Why are we not
seeing that with the Raiders with this young stud and
ashing Jens from the guy that's been in these situations,
what's going on? Help us? Help us understand this.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
You know what's going on is you have a running
back and an O line that are now starting to
get a feel for one another, right, Ashton gent He's
not the in a good way. He's not the typical
back that just you know, gets the ball, he sees
one hole and then just tries to hit it in
that tip. Right. He likes to set up his blocks.
He's big, very very smooth and fluid in the backfield,

(29:02):
has really good feet, and so it's just an adjustment
for the offensive line for him on where the hole
is going to hit, how to stet up the offensive lineman,
to the offensive linemen staying on their blocks, leveraging letting
him find a way and pick those holes. So the
last two games, if he noticed, he broke out two
games prior, broke out against the Bears for over one

(29:24):
hundred yards. And then last week the Raiders actually rushed
even though the score was just atrocious, they actually rushed
for over one hundred yards against the Coats. So it's
starting to come around, and I'm starting to see you.
When I was watching the film, and it was supposed
to be you know, a Gino Smith kind of taking
the pressure off of the offensive line and run game
because you have a veteran and then unfortunately it was

(29:47):
the opposite. Right, the first few games. The run game
wasn't going. Now you rely on Gino Smith's arm, and
that's really never been Pete Carroll's MO. Right, he always
had a great run game, right, you think of the
USC days, you think of Seattle Date. It was always
a great run game. It was always great defense. And
then you had a quarterback who was better than let's

(30:09):
call it just two steps above average, right, And he
never had like the elite elite quarterback, but he had
really really good quarterbacks two steps above average where you
need them to make about four or five throws a game,
aside from the usual converting first downs, et cetera. But
make about four or five throws a game that puts
you over the top. And that's going to be THEMO.

(30:31):
Once this runs game gets going, then you have Geno
Smith will be able to find those holes in the zone.
He knows how to read the defenses. It's just that
you don't want him throwing forty five times a game.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Jonathan bill Man, Johnny I will be on the call
for the Titans Raiders game. All right, let's talk about
the Titans for a moment here, and in particular cam Ward.
So forget stats, forget the fact that you know, obviously
they have limited talent to work around. But give us
your view right now, sort of your eyeball view of
what you see in Camar. Does he have the makeup

(31:02):
to be a franchise quarterback moving forward for the Titans.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
Yes, short answer, yes he does. And if you think
of cam Ward right now, I'll take you back a
few years to Caleb Williams. When Caleb Williams his first year,
he was out there, he can make every throw, he
could get out of the pocket, and we all remember
the USC Oklahoma days where he's just throwing the ball everywhere, right,

(31:27):
making those spectacular plays. And then he comes to the NFL.
All of a sudden, those plays aren't there. The players
are faster, right, the defenders, they can recover quicker, they
make up ground. So then he had to adjust to it.
And I'm seeing the exact same thing with cam Ward
that last year at the University of Miami. He would
get out of the pocket, he's throwing the ball downfield.

(31:47):
I mean, it was just awesome, awesome to watch, a
lot of fun. And then now he's trying to do
the same thing and he's quickly starting to realize I
can't make those throws. Not because my ability isn't there.
He has the ability. It's because the defenders are that
much better right. The coverage it's that much tighter, and
it's going to take time for him to adjust the
same way that Kayleb pad to adjust, and a lot

(32:08):
of quarterbacks have to adjust to understanding. You just need
to get the ball out and get completions and get
in the rhythm and then those big throws will come.
If you go out of the pocket and you immediately
start to look for the home run every time, you're
going to strike out, and you're going to keep striking out,
and then all of a sudden it's a problem. So
that's what I see from Cam young quarterback, no different

(32:30):
than what I've seen before and other really really good quarterbacks.
It's just a matter of how quickly and he kind
of adjusts his mindset, hit the ball out, and then
those big players will come.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Jonathan you another mental player former player question. We in
this business where we know it all from week the week,
and we come and we sit and we do the
games and watch the games, and nothing we pick ends
up right. It just feels like a really weird year
and you're in you're part of us now, brother, But
Colts four one, Dolphins one and four, Ravens one and four,
Jacks four to one, Chiefs two or four? What? What's

(33:01):
it feels just like a weird kind of year? What's
what's going on? Are we in a shift now from
a from one era to the next? As a former player, the.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
Way you see it, the way I see it, it
is the beauty of the NFL is why everyone watches.
It's because every team each year legitimately has a shot,
every team, and it then becomes a matter of, Okay,
who made the costly error or two in a game?

Speaker 6 (33:27):
Right?

Speaker 3 (33:27):
How many games have come down to either our last
minute field goal last minute touchdown? Like we've called a
couple of the Bucks games. They were down with less
than a minute to go in the fourth quarter and
somehow found the way Baker magic kickfield goals, score, touchdown,
whatever it is. So these teams are four to one,
Bucks could very easily be two and three, right, the

(33:50):
one and four. Look at the Jets, that just how
they lost today they're now zero and six. We called
a couple of their games. They actually had the lead
against the Bucks on the row with less than a
man to go. They lose that game, right, So there's
plenty of opportunities on either side or for these teams
where the records are not really indicative of the parody

(34:13):
in the league. Right, And so you see the records
because you are what you are. But it's not to
say that any team owns six jets at one in five,
whoever can't go out and beat the four and one
team because the league is so so the margin very
is so slim in the league that you have these
great opportunities. And like you said, the teams that we're

(34:35):
used to hearing be five and one, four and one,
like the Ravens not so much anymore. Right, you give
up seventeen point leads against the Bills, Yeah, you're gonna lose, right,
That's what happens. So I really love it. I enjoy
it every season. It's a new season. It's a lot
of fun.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Well, we always enjoy having you on, Jonathan. We appreciate
the time. Have a good time there in Vegas. Hopefully
we'll see a pretty good matchup between the Titans and
the Ravens. Raiders, Thanks so much, Jo.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Then, oh thank you guys, take care.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Thank the Filma joining us there all right, coming up
on the other side, we'll get you updated on all
seven games going on right now in the NFL. By
the way, Drake May five and five hundred three yards
two touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
Maybe maybe maybe.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Drake May is going to be the quarterback that the
Patriots are hoping it was going to be. This is
en Zone Radio.

Speaker 6 (35:21):
Heyworks from the gun head us that stays on for
this rep to the right of the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Day drops back, fights up, fires to the end zone,
passes going to be.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
Through.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
What is the Patriots getting that touchdown?

Speaker 1 (35:36):
But that's Day A ninety eight five of the Sports
Hub and the Patriots Radio Network. Patriots all over the
Saints fourteen to six. Started the second quarter in that game,
brake me again, five and five hundred three yards, two
touchdown passes. He is on fire right now, all right.
Colts and Cardinals are tied at seven. So the Cardinals, uh,

(35:56):
after literally giving away a game last week, tied with
the Colts right now seven All Dolphins hanging on to
a one point lead seven to six.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Over the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Steelers up six nothing after another field goal over the Browns,
Cowboys and Panthers. We got a shootout going there ten ten,
already eleven minutes to go in the first half, Jaguars
over the Seahawks six to three. Rams have the ball
right now, They're in the red zone, trailing the Ravens
by a score of three to nothing.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Unco's on the ground though, riving in paying holding his
midsection and in one of his lower box. I can
was the right at the left lay. But it did
not It did not look good at all. Things change fast,
oh they do. MA went one to four Ravens.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
Right, Okay, again, everything is week to week in this league,
and this is just and it's and it's been this way. Look,
I always say there's a fine line between parody and
pero d you know, in other words, are we seeing
good football right now in the NFL? And the point
was made that understand this baffles me. We talk about

(37:02):
this in baseball all the time right now, where we
ask less of the starting pitchers in terms of how
many pitches they throw, and yet we seem to have
more arm injuries than ever.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
Same thing with the NFL.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
So in preseason, in training camp and during the week,
right less tackling, less physical play to keep the players
healthy and guess what, we have more injuries than ever
it used to be back in the day, you know,
going back again to my Raiders' days. Do you know
I worked for the Raiders and did you Yeah?

Speaker 2 (37:29):
I did.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
Back in the eighties, we had full pad practices on
Wednesdays and Thursdays every week throughout the entire season. And
you know what, guys never missed games. Now you could say, well,
they're playing hurt. Well, you're right, they're playing hurt because
they didn't want to lose their jobs. And yeah, they
probably took way too many drugs to keep their bodies
healthy and paid the price long term. But it just
seems amazing to me that, you know, in an effort

(37:52):
to keep players healthy by doing you know, and this
is why the tackling in this league is subpar, you
know it. Just if you don't practice things, you're not
going to be good at things.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
And look at this, we watch this over and over again.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Guys do not understand how to wrap up a guy,
how to actually bring someone down in an actual tackle.
And yet, with all this effort to keep players healthy,
injury after injury after injury.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
Well, you said it right, and I'll throw that to
where I was last night at the Colleseum cover in
Michigan and USC which was just a phenomenal experience. Shot
to my man, Lee, Lee D Latman, I love you, brother.
It's not coached, And the problem is is we're trying
to protect people from themselves when you're only hurting the product.

(38:41):
We see this in basketball. The Achilles injuries over the
last two seasons have been astronomical. But if you do
not practice, if you do not run, if you do
not train, if you do not get hit or get
bumped or have a couple of falls in a practice
or an offseason workout, when it happens to you in September, October, November, December,

(39:02):
or the NBA from November to May, or a Major
League Baseball from April to October, it's going to effect.
You know, the one sport we don't hear them pulling
back on and we don't see these big time astronomical
injuries the NHL exactly, hockey. I have not heard it.
If I'm wrong, fine tweet me bring it up throwing
them a fan, But show me the list of physical

(39:23):
changes to the league that they've done yet. You can't
take headshots on blind guys and throw elbows like you
used to be able to. That's self explanatory. But cutting
down the timing. We talked about this few weeks ago
about special teams. You're seeing all these block kicks because
if I'm a coach, and I am if I'm told
that I have to take time away from office defens

(39:44):
and special teams, what do you think is going to
suffer first? Special teams? And it's showing up in the games,
and tackling is just another aspect of it. You don't
hit enough, and we have segments of the past of
you got jazz the big hit without being wrapped up.
We've completely lost fundamentals and it's starting to show up

(40:06):
in the product. All right. A couple things with that
Rams games.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
The Rams actually the kick was blocked, but it was
a short kick and they were able to somehow wedget
too for a field goal, so three to three. But
Puka Nakua was helped off the field, could put no
pressure on that left leg. Did not look good, So
we'll keep you updated on his condition. Seven games around
the National Football League. We got it covered for you.

(40:31):
Or hitting into second quarters toward halftime. This is end
zone radio rolling along on another busy NFL Sunday. We're
in the Fox Sports radio studios and yeah, big news
out of college football. Finally James Franklin fired by Penn State.
That was not unexpected after back to back losses. When
you're a twenty point favorite of preseason number two Drew

(40:54):
Allery of the quarterback obviously out for the year, has
been an absolute catastrophe for them. Aanklin honestly has been fortunate.
But the bay out of fifty seven million, somebody finally
stepped up and said, I don't care what it takes,
we got to get a new coach in and bring
the Penn State program back into relativity. So James Franklin
walks the plank.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
He is gone. And here's the thing. It's not a
shock No, they didn't send shock waves. This is not
gonna disrupt our great show here. This is not gonna
disrupt NFL Sunday. This would be different if it was maybe,
you know, another coach, if like if coaching Prime was
fired or something like that. But this was as we said,
it was expected, it was needed, and after the Oregon game,

(41:37):
I walked in here and looked at you. In the
first words out of my mouth, I said, same old
Penn State, same old James Franklin. And if you're okay
with winning ten and eleven games and get in some
five star kids and competing and having the fan base,
you know, hold on and we can maybe get Ohio State,

(41:57):
or we can beat Michigan this year, we can get
to the big If you're okay with that, because that's
kind of what you are, then you can't fire him.
But if you actually want to really now compete in
this twelve team playoff and compete with the rest of
the big boys in the world of college football right now,
which is beautiful and tremendous, you gotta figure it out
and move on with a guy I told you them

(42:19):
saying not on the field for the Oregon game hugging
each other, Dude, what did that look like? And then
you followed up the UCLA the boggle with that press
conference on.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
Well, he said after their latest loss at home to Northwestern,
his final game as head coach of ben State, it's
one hundred percent on me.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
Well, you be okay. If it's one hundred.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
Percent on you, then they're making it really easy for
us to say one hundred percent gone. So James Franklin
out as Penn State is reeling right now after another loss.
All right, games that are going on right now. Will
continue to monitor the situation with Pooka Nakuwa, who has
helped off the field. We don't know the extent of
his injury. With the Rams. Meanwhile, it has been a

(43:00):
struggle offensively for the Ravens in terms of their passing game.
Cooper rush two of six twelve yards and a pick. Although, yeah, surprise, surprise, surprise, right,
Derek Henry running the ball well, nine carries for fifty
five yards. But the Rams aren't doing a whole lot
either in this game. And the Rams, you know, here's
a team that I was really high on. I said, well,

(43:22):
if you have a healthy Matthew Stafford, I think they
could be the number two team to the Eagles. That
was my preseason thought. I thought the Eagles are just
a notch above. Obviously they're not. But right now, the
Rams are really struggling offensively. They're not getting much of
a running game going on right now, and so they're
keeping the Ravens, who are a big underdog at home
today in this game. Remember, the Rams have lost two

(43:45):
of their last three games. So just like every other team.
I mean, I go all the way back to the
COVID year in twenty twenty, when you know, the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers had Tom Brady and they were struggling, and
they went into their bye weeks they are looking for
answers is this team even going to make the playoffs?
And they all of a sudden got hot and they

(44:05):
never lost another game on the way to a Super
Bowl championship. I feel like that's going to be this year,
Like we're gonna get to, like, you know, week eight,
Week nine, Week ten, still trying to identify which team
is the team and then somebody, I'm not sure who,
somebody is going to catch fire. The Dolphins have regained
the lead over the Chargers ten to nine, as VJ.

(44:27):
Husky desperate, desperate for victory for his Dolphins. By the way,
the Colts just scored again, so they have retaken the
lead over the Cardinals by a score of fourteen to seven.
Daniel Jones, who came into this week with the number
one QBR in the entire league ten of fourteen ninety
four yards a touchdown. He has thrown a pick in

(44:48):
this game. Jonathan Taylor just continues to run wild. Eight
carries sixty one yards. That's seven point six yards of
Gary talk about MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor is definitely on
that short list.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
Yeah, I think Jonathan Taylor's right there with Daniel Jones
and dare I say, my man, maker, Baker Mayfield is
just making things happen for the Bucks. But this is
the game, man. I don't want to hear it. And
I'm saying this is with my heart. I'm saying it
with my chest. I don't want to hear all their
winning close game. That's the game, guys. There's no style
points in the NFL. You either win or lose because

(45:23):
you get one shot a week to do it. It's
not the NBA or even Major League Baseball, where you
could get blown out thirteen to one one night. You're
coming right back for a two h five pitch less
than twenty four hours later. That game has gone out
of those guys mind. NFL loss just lags, and it hangs,
and it just hovers over you. And one turns to two,

(45:44):
two turns to four, four turns to eight, and now, guys,
with a hammy, it hurts a little more. Coach at
two and seven. That growing hurts a little more because
I tell you at seven and two he's suiting up
to play. At two and seven, it's a little different,
but just a really quick Jonathan Willem, who it was
just awesome. That was so great speaking with him, A
great football mind as he was a player. He said

(46:05):
something that that I love and I always kind of
hand on to every team's got a shot at zero
zero right to start the year. But as we go on, Steve,
we swear we just know it all man, We just
know what's gonna happen, and things turn fast, and I
do not wishing to injury anybody. But what if this
Pook and the cool thing? What if this is weeks
or now? This totally changes the entire dynamic of the

(46:27):
of the NFC West and the Rams offensive. You spoke
about forcing it to DeVante. You take Pook off the field,
you don't have a choice.

Speaker 3 (46:35):
Now.

Speaker 1 (46:36):
Yeah, the Steelers have three field goals. The Browns defense
is outstanding. They might to hold things in check, but offensively,
the Browns, let's put it this way right now, Pittsburgh
leading in Cleveland nine to nothing, three and a half
minutes to go on the first half total yards. The
Steelers have one hundred and sixty six. The Browns have
thirty four. Oh, Dylan Gabriel, Yeah, well, you know I

(46:58):
was laughing when they said, well, uh now Sanders is
the number two quarterback. I'm like, well, gee, a little man.
If Joe Flacco is gone, what else would he be?
I mean, how is that a story? But that tells
you again the fascination about Shador Sanders. So look, Dylan Gabriel,

(47:21):
what do they have. I don't care who you're going
to put in a quarterback. This team doesn't have a
lot of juice in terms of playmakers offensively. But we'll
see how long they stick with Dylan Gabriel. Will they
try to shake things up? And by the way, you know,
you can talk about shaking things up, but we've seen
two prime examples on the collegiate level U C l A.

(47:42):
I mean, it's unreal. I know, I talk about Mike Bruins,
but now they made a switch in coach and an
offensive coordinator and it's night and day. I mean, it's
like the same players and a completely different outcome. And
we're beginning to see it with the Giants right now,
where you know you bring in the cookie Jackson. But
what's happening is you have Dart, you have Scatterboo, these

(48:05):
two rookies, and it gets the fan base excited, he
gets the organization excited. Everyone raises their game a little
bit more, a little more. Then all of a sudden,
you're like, hey, I can't wait to see what's next
with these guys. And that gives juice to a team
where you know, you started getting that adrenaline pumping, like Wow,
I'm excited, man, it's looking good. Maybe we got something better.

(48:27):
That's what that's what's these kind of changes could do.
So maybe I don't know, Cleveland with Sador Sanders, if
he were to come in and somehow get something lital
get a win, you know, get a win, or get
a win, get a touchdown, just a touchdown to somehow
ignite this Brown's off.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
I always say this, I love talking to players because
I always just feel like you get a better vibe
from former players and current players about what's really going
on in locker room. And you hit the nail on
the head exactly perfectly as you normally do. You're Hall
of Famer, I mean, that's type stuff you do. But
you're right. They already know what Jameis Winston is. The

(49:05):
bets on that team already know what Russell Wilson like,
we already know. You can do this training camp stuff
all you want. The Browns players already knew what Joe
Flacco was. This is why he wasn't getting a lot
of reps in Oh, we're just you know, we're wrestling him.
He didn't need it, and he probably doesn't. That's fine,
I get it. He's like year thirty seven in the league.
I understand. But when you do invigorate a freshman in

(49:26):
college or a rookie in the NFL and they make
a player too, people don't realize how big that is.
In an NFL locker room, a guy who could just
make a throw to another guy and the guy catches
it and maybe breaks a tackle and then maybe scores
a touchdown. And you see the work he put in
on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, he was first one there.

(49:48):
You hear the jugs machine at eight o'clock at night,
two hours after everybody's gone. You look out the window.
It's that guy. It's where the SuperStar's gone home to
his big mansion and his Bentley and his family and
all that goes. All right, that's making five hundred thousand
dollars that fifth round pick, that undrafted guy. Trust me,
you won't need him one of these Sundays, Thursday night
or Monday nights because injuries happened in this sport and

(50:11):
it's gotta be next man up, and it invigorates the
guys in the huddle. Last point, I heard this from
Derwin James. The guys in the locker room. Now, the
guys in the locker room, the fans we think we know,
radio TV. He goes, the guys that are there every day.
Trust me, we know, we know who can play who can't.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
The common After UCLA's big win against Michigan State, from
Nico Imalava, their quarterbacks said at all, thank you. By
the what he said, we're having fun.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
We're having fun. It's games supposed to be fun. It's
a game.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
If you're having fun, right, you will play well, you
will be relaxed, you will let your talent take over.
But when he said after the game, he just had
a smile. He goes, we're having fun right now, we're
having fun, having fun. Then things are gonna be good.
By the way, I'll tell you who's having fun right now,
the Saints, right, they are coming back in this game.

(51:06):
Spencer Rattler eleven of twelve, one hundred and twenty one yards.
He's also run for twenty yards. Kamara's got thirty one yards.
Don't forget they got Chris Olave. I mean he's he's right.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
They got four.

Speaker 1 (51:17):
Catches, seventy five yards receiving in this game, five targets,
four catches. So the Saints hanging in, trailing the Patriots
by a score of fourteen thirteen. All right, we're zeroing
in on halftime. Seven games around the NFL. We're all over.
And by the way, have you seen that red Ostrich
logo on Professional Baseball's postseason helmets. That's Strauss family owned

(51:40):
since nineteen forty eight and trusted by pros worldwide. Pants
built like tools, durable, comfortable, and engineered to perform from
grit to glory. Gear up now at Strauss dot com.
That's st r us dot com, SS dot com. And
let me ask you this final four. Now, we're all
set with the Elague Championship Series today obviously, take on

(52:01):
the Mariners and the Dodgers head to Milwaukee. Open up
the NLCS tomorrow. What's your quick overview.

Speaker 2 (52:07):
On these two series. I love the way the Dodgers look.
I hate the way that series ended with Philly. I
felt for that guy. I felt for that picture. But
I thought that was a managerial mistake. And I had
to go deepen on Twitter because people were like, what
are you talking about it? And I'll go deep in
another segment we talked about but I like the Dodgers
to win this series.

Speaker 1 (52:23):
I did ignoring the fact they were zering six against
the Brewers this year.

Speaker 2 (52:26):
And I'm a guy who says the regular season means
nothing once the postseason starts. Because if we're gonna say, oh,
regular season is different from the postseason, then you need
to leave the regular season stuff out of the conversation
that you have.

Speaker 12 (52:37):
Me.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
Give me the Dodges and six. And you know what, man,
the Mariners. They won the AFC, the AFC, they won
the NL the AO West. You you were a believer
on them back in April, I was.

Speaker 1 (52:49):
I mean the Mariners team that has never been to
a World Series. Right, there's thirty franchises's only one the
Mariners have never been.

Speaker 2 (52:57):
I still hold the al wins record they did. Okay, team,
but he's still record the major league records that he
still hold that record. Give me give me the I
think it'll be seven. I need seven.

Speaker 1 (53:07):
You're gonna talk about in all West Coast World Series?

Speaker 2 (53:11):
Not happy with, well that's final from the East because
I was just there for a week. But give me
give me the Dodges and in five or six. All right.

Speaker 4 (53:17):
Well, although granted you're also saying if it would be
the East Coast to be from Toronto, and we know
how Canadian teams play down here in the States.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
Yeah, well that's true. I mean, all I know is this. Uh.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
I like your pick, but let's keep in mind again,
pretty much the entire year, the Blue Jays and the
Brewers had the best record in the league. You're right,
and here they are as the teams with the home
field advantage. I get the league championship. Postseason baseball is phenomenal.
That fifteen inning game the other night was absolutely edge
of your seat. You're hanging literally every on every pitch,

(53:47):
one pitch at.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
The end of the game. That's what makes baseball especially
heated every second. I know you did. Because he's a
Tiger guy to the core.

Speaker 1 (53:54):
All right, coming up on the other side, will continue
update you on these seven games around the NFL. Heading
tore halftime. This is end zone radio.

Speaker 2 (54:03):
Jo throws to the enzone. Mcmillinskin. It's the judge Tree
back who this first career.

Speaker 13 (54:09):
Touchdown at nineteen yard strike from Bryce Young to tenor
Roald mckillan.

Speaker 1 (54:16):
That's ninety nine seven the Fox Panthers Radio network. Panthers
trailing the Cowboys right now, seventeen to ten, final seconds going.

Speaker 2 (54:24):
Off in the first half of that game.

Speaker 1 (54:27):
Once again, we're here in the Fox Sports radio studios.
By the way, the dattle guy that we were barely
recognizing last week. Remember Carolina had a big game last
week and found out a gain over a thousand yards
rushing for the Cowboys rast last year we had no
recall of them. How about thirteen carries eighty yards in
this game in the first half. So right now the
Caroline Panthers again trailing the Cowboys, seventeen to ten, and

(54:51):
we got a few seconds left in the first half.
There just a quick rundown of the score brought around
the NFL Colts lead. The Cardinals are hanging in there,
fourteen to ten. Colts a minute left to go in
the half. Dolphins over the Chargers ten to nine. These
Saints have come back to take a sixteen to fourteen
lead over the Patriots. Steelers lead the Browns nine to nothing.

(55:14):
We mentioned Cowboys over the Panthers seventeen to ten. Seahawks
lead the Jaguars. We haven't talked a whole lot about
that game. That game ten to six Seahawks. Now and
the Ravens have a fourth and goal right now at
the Rams one yard line, trying to get in the
end zone. This is a three three games, all these games.
Literally the last minute of the first half. The Ravens

(55:37):
are hanging in here. Okay, so you got nine seconds left,
fourth and goal, so you got one play you got
Derek Henry, let's just start right there. Who, by the way,
in the first half has seventeen carries for ninety two yards.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
Who figured he can run the ball.

Speaker 1 (55:53):
So I don't know, fourth down, hand the ball off
to the big guy.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
Right, Yeah, that's what I would do. How about second third?
For like, if it's on the one, the six three,
two and forty pound guy gets the football, I don't
care if you know it. Yeah, exactly, I don't care
who knows. It doesn't matter. So we'll see what the
Colts do here. They had a reset of the clock,
is what they did. So that side there was a delay.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
It's inside the one yard about a half yard, and
you have Derrick Henry in your backfield. If the Rams stop,
more power to the Rams. All right, here we go,
Wills taken and they give the ball to Derrick Henry
and he gets stuffed for a three yard loss.

Speaker 2 (56:36):
And you know why because he stutters his feet. And
I cannot stand. I say this all the time as
a coach. If you're going to run the ball on
the goal line, you have got to let the running
back get a running start. The fact that he's standing
there and takes a counterstep. Watch this, he takes a counterstep.
He's receiving the ball four yards in the backfield. That

(56:57):
is not how you run the football on the goal line.
He needs the spring. See the count step he takes
team Why why would you? And he runs to the
side where the penetration's coming through. All right, it's just
a terrible play call and it's terrible execution.

Speaker 1 (57:12):
Well, then that's John Harbaugh, most overrated coach in the
NFL oh Man, it's dumbing down his team right now.
So that's how the half ends with the Ravens and
the Rams tied at three after Derek Henry gets caught
for a two to three yard loss on fourth and
goal at the one yard line. Meanwhile, the Dolphins final
seconds ticking off here, they've got a chance to increase

(57:35):
their lead over the Chargers right now in this game,
after a slow start to a tongue of Bailoa catching
a little fire right now now nine to sixteen for
one hundred and fourteen yards. He did throw a pick
earlier in this game, But the big story here for
the Dolphins is you're running back finally made a big play,
got in the end zone.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
Yeah, and that's what they need to do with him
more is just get the ball in your playmaker's hands.
I always say, sometimes coaches make football some sounds harder
than it has to be. It's okay, my guy's bigger, stronger, faster,
better coach than just a better football athlete than your
guy right here that's got to cover him. So I
probably should give him the ball and just let him

(58:13):
do what his god given ability is and outplay your guy,
which we see. Some coaches make it very easy to do.
Kyle Shanahan is one of the best at it. Get
the ball to Christian McCaffrey in space, let him do
him give the Debo. Debo's not there anymore so in Washington,
but when he was there, get the ball to Debo.
In different aspects of the game, it's not just always
throw the ball to him, throw the ball to him.
Like we talk about Devonte Adams and trying to force

(58:34):
on the ball. When I'm a quarterback and I come
out and I see press, I see cover, I'm sorry,
a soft coverage eight nine yards, Why don't I just
hike the ball, turn and throw it right to him.
That guy's got eight yards to make up. He's probably
made up about three once the balls in the air.
But now I have Devontae Adams, a big body receiver
who's got a five yard cushion to now make a

(58:55):
small guy miss and possibly pick up a big player
touchdown a first NWNE. It's just it's what's a smart play.
Like if we turn and we look at the say
any I'm sorry, Seattle and Jacksonville, Gay, you've seen the
coverage at the corner and the receiver. There's the it's
ten yards, why are you even running a route towards
that corner. It's just coaches make things harder than it
really has to be sometimes. I guess everybody wants to

(59:16):
be the smartest guy in the room sometimes, you know.

Speaker 1 (59:18):
So all right, well, we're trying to get an update
on the Puka Nakoua injury. It's a foot injury. We
know that he was trying to make an insane catch,
came down the wrong way, was taken off the field
very much limping off the field. So bo, if you
could try to get an update on the Puka Nakua situation.
It is some sort of foot injury. The Dolphins will
get the field goal as we go into the house.

(59:39):
So Miami leads this game thirteen to nine. Remember we're
all buzzing about the Chargers after they got three straight
division wins open up their season. Not so much anymore
if they lose this game. I mean, last week was
an absolute debacle as they had a ten to nothing lead,
we're driving, they had the fumble by Quinton Johnston. The
next thing you know, the Commanders take over and the

(01:00:01):
Chargers never scored again in that game. Got blown out
twenty seven to ten the League of Attrition.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
Man, this year, guys are just going down one after another,
and it's and it's starting to just weigh on these teams.
You can't Now, you can replace a guy or two,
but Steve, you can't replace seven to eight starters. And
that's you don't have seven or eight great backup guys.

Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
Well now when you're paying them again because of the
salary cap restrictions, right, you're really limited in how much
you could pay backup players, and back and way back
in the stone Age, before we had all this, you
could bring in veterans, veterans that still have a little
bit less, you know, some gas left in the tank
to fill out your roster. And if you had injuries,

(01:00:49):
you had experienced players stepping in. Now you've got free
agent rookies all over the place. Could get them on
the absolute cheap so you can stay underneath the cap
and pay your superstars the big money. If those go down,
tough break.

Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
Not only that, Steve, you got backups who can't play
man like because you have to fill out fifty three
man right like you have to. And I guarantee you
if I had to put a percentage on it. How
many of these teams you think have fifty three NFL
playable guys?

Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
No, I mean not only that, Remember they've got what
up to seventeen guys I think there.

Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Practice squad, so you got he got seventy guys.

Speaker 1 (01:01:26):
It's like the NBA, I mean the NBA. How many
guys can really play in the NBA out of thirty
teams and what he have fourteen guys on the bench,
maybe maybe forty, maybe thirty, I mean really really play.

Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Yeah, No, not going out there like you're making a
difference out exactly there. You're going not just a roy
being thrown out there. And that's what I see in
the NFL with a lot of backups in today. Uh,
just really quick point on this Ravens Rams game. You
talk about, you know the Chargers. Look with the Rams,
Rams start hot. But yeah, Devontae Adams had to drop too,
so we could talk about trying to force the ball

(01:01:57):
ats on. He had one to hit him between a
one and the set it and it pop off his
it popped off his chest play and he dropped the ball.
So that stuff like that is on him. But this
league changes very fast, and we have yet to talk
about what the Patriots did the Buffalo up in Buffalo
last last Sunday night like that was, And I text you, right,
I said, hey, I'm starting to gain late. No spoilers,

(01:02:18):
but I'm just getting to I got I got a feeling.
I got a feeling about this game. I didn't know
what the outcome was, but there was.

Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
Well, I mean again, Buffalo has not played all that great, right,
the same should have beat him the week before, right, Well,
they didn't cover the spread. We know that against the Saints.
By the way, the Patriots followed up by by trailing
the Saints. How about that right now, by the score
of sixteen fourteen, all of that which have a first
and goal at the Saints one yard line.

Speaker 5 (01:02:41):
Would you guys like a puka a coup update?

Speaker 1 (01:02:43):
Yes, well we had.

Speaker 5 (01:02:44):
He was like doing sprints on the sideline.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
Oh, I just saw that.

Speaker 5 (01:02:47):
He's Actually if that's live, then maybe he'll play in
this gas.

Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
Well that's good.

Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
If he's on the sideline still in the uniform, that
means he has a chance.

Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
To play at the half. So I don't think.

Speaker 5 (01:02:56):
Yeah there, it looked to me like he banged his
shin on the defender's knee when he was going down,
so it probably didn't feel good.

Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
All right, let's find out what it's a trending right now,
as Monci is once again ready, that's what's trending.

Speaker 11 (01:03:11):
Yeah, it's going to be trending for weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Are you nervous about your Chargers today? We Are you
nervous about your chargers?

Speaker 10 (01:03:17):
Are nervous about my Chargers? For weeks?

Speaker 11 (01:03:19):
I feel like I had this conversation last week movie
did you remember?

Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
I was like, right, I picked, I was, and I'm
sitting there watching the game when I got home last week,
and I all I can do is thing about the
conversation we had. I'm like, hey, they're fine, They're gonna
cover it. They're gonna cover it. Honestly, what are you
worried about?

Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
Honestly, what the Chargers should do is move to Brazil?
If they go, they moved to Brazil, they played great there.
That's their best game.

Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
That's their best game. That's why he's saying that. You
see the partnership. I knew who exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
The best game this year?

Speaker 10 (01:03:54):
Absolutely, thank you for that.

Speaker 11 (01:03:55):
I appreciate that the Patriots ended the all of these
games around halftime. By the way, the Patriots ended the
half with another touchdown pass from Drake May then they
went for a successful two point conversions, so they're up
on the saving.

Speaker 10 (01:04:07):
T right now, twenty two to sixteen.

Speaker 11 (01:04:10):
Rams Ravens tied at three, Dolphins over the Chargers thirteen
to nine. We've got the Cardinals losing to the Colts
fourteen to ten. Daniel Jones has a touchdown in the
air and a touchdown on the ground. The Steelers haven't
hit a touchdown scored a touchdown, but they're still up
on the Browns nine to three, and the Cowboys have
a lead over the Panthers seventeen thirteen, while the Seahawks

(01:04:32):
holding on to their lead over the Jaguar. Sam Darnold
did have a nice sixty one yard touchdown pass to
Jackson Smith and Jigba.

Speaker 10 (01:04:38):
They're up on the Jags thirteen to six.

Speaker 11 (01:04:41):
Football started in London this morning and the Broncos survived.

Speaker 10 (01:04:44):
It wasn't pretty, but Denver.

Speaker 11 (01:04:45):
Improves to four and two after defeating the Jets thirteen
to eleven. Jets still looking for their first win of
the season. But big news out of college football as
Penn State has fired their head football coach James Franklin.
Terry Smith is going to be the interim coach now
at Penn State. He's a long time assistant coach, has
been there all twelve years with Franklin. Penn State owes

(01:05:06):
Franklin more than forty nine millions.

Speaker 10 (01:05:09):
He's going to go away for more than I mean,
there's nothing for.

Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
Who doesn't it is but for them to pay it.

Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
That they Yeah, they did get the money.

Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
Look at it was coming, it was coming, it was coming.

Speaker 11 (01:05:21):
I think they were just like, that's still a lot
of like money to go away money.

Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
Great, Well, jim O Fisher got seventy three million from an.

Speaker 11 (01:05:30):
We're trying to catch Jimbo Fisher's number here.

Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
Like nobody try to do that.

Speaker 11 (01:05:36):
But you know, and I think Franklin is going to
get a call from another school. So he's gonna get
forty nine million to go away and he's gonna get
hired over there.

Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
Think about this. You are now investing big money, millions
in nil money.

Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
To get these top players, yep, yep.

Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
And if you're not producing with the extra money now
being invested in the players, you walk the plank, right,
That's what happened to Frank.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
Great point, yep, great point.

Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
Yeah, there's more at stake now, that's this is huge.

Speaker 10 (01:06:01):
Match, right, there's less excuses for everybody. Thanks to you guys.

Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
All right, Monsie, thank you very much once again. End

Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
One game.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
We really haven't talked a whole lot about today, and
it's a big matchup. Really two teams you're like, are
they for real or not? Seahawks and Jaguars. And the
Seahawks lead this game by a score of thirteen to six.
By the way, the Seahawks ironically two and zero on
the road, so looking for the third straight road victory.
And Sam Darnold eighteen of fourteen, one hundred and forty

(01:06:57):
yards in a touchdown pass the radio one fifteen. He's
top three in the league in every category when it
comes to passing. So the idea that he was a
one year wonder with all the talent he was surrounded
by in Minnesota, at least early on this season, he
is proving. I mean, they've got talent in Seattle, but
not like Minnesota, and his numbers look very similar. So

(01:07:20):
I think we can we can write off the idea
that a that Sam Darnah was a bust because when
you're drafted by the Jets and don't perform join the club,
you go to Minnesota where you're handed, you know, all
kinds of talent to throw the ball with. He had
great numbers. But Sam Darnald's proving, at least early in
this season in Seattle that he is indeed the quarterback

(01:07:44):
that a lot of people projected. And to be remember,
most people thought he should have been the number one
overall pick over Baker Mayfield. Mayfield has certainly proven himself
to be an outstanding quarterback in this league, but right
now Sam Darnell is on that path.

Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
I'm not once again going to be hyperbally. Is he
having a good start to this season. Yet today though,
I you know, I mean, I have to do full
contact eight to fourteen one forty. He's got five of those,
my man, Jackson, Smith and Jag, but five for one
seventeen one was a sixty one yard or sure for
a touchdown. The other receivers, sharbon A, Arroyo and barn
are all one catch each.

Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
Well again, let's go to that. How deep is their
receiving court?

Speaker 5 (01:08:20):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
Well, no, it's I mean, you've got one outstanding receiver him.

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
One guy, Yeah, you got one guy you got Well,
I'm with you on that. Gotta get him the ball,
but just, you know, just a little full contact. Something
else about this game, too, is that sharbon A six
carries and Kenneth Walker the third three may be still
upset about little brother getting smacked around like that yesterday.
That's affected them today. But eighteen yards and eight they
can't run the football. So I just I don't I
don't know how sustainable this type of performance can be

(01:08:46):
for him, Because in the NFL, we do know you
may be able to get through a few weeks without
being effectively to run the football. But overall, the team
that normally wins the most games has home field, gets
to the Super Bowl, wins the Super Bowl. They have
a great running game. They can attack you with the
run that sets up the pass and it keeps their
defense off the film. They win time of a possession,

(01:09:07):
which I think is an overrated Staton football, but it
is still a status time of possession because the Rams,
the greatest showan Surf showed you we only need about
a minute and fifty seconds per possession. We don't need
eleven play drives, thirteen drives. We'll hit you fast and
hit you quick. Joe Montana and those Niners and Bill
watching the West Coast officers to do that a lot
back in the A's also air core on the Dolphins
with Mark Duper and Clayton just to name a few.

(01:09:29):
But I would be once again just a little remissal
of pumping the brakes and not being just Oh, Sam
Darnold has erased all the demons. I just they're gonna
have to run the football well. They can't give up
a game like they did last week, giving up thirty
plus points at home. Defense hasn't played well so far
great today kind of makes you, I don't know what

(01:09:49):
side out of Jacks a little bit from day when
Monday Night was not more about the Chiefs, it was
about the Jacks. Well, once again, that's the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:09:56):
I'm glad you mentioned the Chiefs. All right, So as
I mentioning as we go into week six, the chief
are the ten seed.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
In the AFC.

Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
There are three spots out of a playoff right now,
they're not even in the playoff conversation at this point,
and they get to host the Lions, who with the
sudden fall of the Eagles, I guess right now you'd
have to say the Lions are the best team in
the NFC. I mean, this was a fifteen win team
a year ago. After a stumble early against the Packers,

(01:10:25):
they've rebounded. This is the best offense in the league
right now going against the Chiefs defense that is in decline.
By the way, what was up with Chris Jones just
standing there watching Trevor Lawrence going in the enza.

Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
Well did he just quit and he run out of gas?

Speaker 1 (01:10:40):
The hell happened there?

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
I once again, I'm not going to get on the
Anglo or they're done, they're over. I do think they're done.
The Chiefs are done. There's some major problems there, and
I thought Mahomes took a little more on that he
really should have early in this year. He's running guys over,
he's lowering his shoulder, and I watched that and I say, yeah,
but that's once again one of my favorite words in sports.

(01:11:03):
That's not sustainable. That's gonna eventually wear you down. And
Pamelhomes has not been worn down. And some of these
weapons that were supposed to kind of step up and
take place and take shape and take form offensively, it's
not there. They're not doing it. Chelsea looks kind of
I don't want to use the word this interesting because
I'm not in his brain as engaged as I've seen.

Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
You know, Look, what's amazing to me. I want to
get Chris are Lions insider here in this Why are
the Lions an underdog in this game? I mean, I mean,
I know it's it's Sunday night, it's the Chiefs are
at home. But how are the Chiefs favored in this game?

Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
Well? I can think of a few reasons.

Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
Number One, if we want to talk about, like personnel wise,
I think the Lions now their left tackle is now
down to like their third string, which is Skipper Dan Skipper,
who's a bit of a veteran, but I think there's
always worry on that front. But more on the fact is,
like I think people are just this is what happens
when you have a public team like the Chiefs. I

(01:12:06):
think people expect this is an arrowhead.

Speaker 1 (01:12:07):
Two Chiefs are big on hundred dogs the other week,
I mean.

Speaker 4 (01:12:13):
Dogsonville, Like I'm going to assume because it's a road game,
and there's still always like it's a good it's a
good question. I don't have a great answer for this.
I think the Lion should probably be a road favorite here,
but it's it's still just a out of people still
clinging to this idea the Chiefs. This can't be the
end for the Chiefs. The Chiefs will somehow figure this out,
turn those around.

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
But that's see.

Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
I go back to last year's Super Bowl, right, Yeah,
I was on record here saying that the Eagles would
win that game double digits. I had, I repeated it.
I never wavered on it. I said, what are you
looking at here? Are you watching the Eagles? Are you
watching the Chiefs? And everyone's like, yeah, but it's the Chiefs, man,
They're just gonna find a way. Well after winning seventeen

(01:12:55):
consecutive one score games.

Speaker 4 (01:12:57):
The Chiefs have now lost three of those in a row.
And we talk about us all the time. Every year
we have a team that has a bunch of one
score games. We talked about last week what happens next year.
We hate this term regression to the mean, but it
always seems to happen every time. The luck just goes
against you where you get those.

Speaker 1 (01:13:13):
That's what happened to the Vikings. The Vikings a couple
of years ago had that run of one score winners
and then it evaporated. Well right now, the Chiefs, that
has been their bread and butter, pulling games out, finding
ways to win zero to three in one score game.

Speaker 2 (01:13:27):
It's hard to do, as you guys just said, it's
hard to do season this season, but no season is
like the other. Every NFL season, for every coach, player, trainer, assistant,
GM owner, everything is different in the National Football League. Hell,
not just year to year, week to week, guys, it's
it's it's different and that's why we love this. I

(01:13:49):
speak for myself, That's why I love this the way
I do, because from week to week, you just don't
know what you're going to get. Ravens and Rams. Right now,
if the Ravens somehow pull this out, okay, they go
to two four, it's not over. You don't have Lamar,
do You now? Can rest Lamar another week? Because we
got the dove, you get the one in five. I
think it could be batfone time for the Ravens in

(01:14:11):
some shape fashion of form, because one in five just
spells the death of a team. But if you look
around the rest of the AFC, who was standing out?
We were ready to crown Buffalo. Buffalo was gonna walk
away with the AFC guys, right, and then let the
Patriots go in there on their home field and Stefan
Diggs rip them apart and Drake may lead them on
a game win and drive, and you honestly go, okay,

(01:14:33):
what the hell is going on here? It's week to week?

Speaker 1 (01:14:36):
Well, what's going on with the Rams? Think about this.
In the four Ravens losses, they've given up forty one,
thirty eight to thirty seven and forty four defend. The
Rams have three points at halftime against this defense.

Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
Cayle Hamilton's back middle linebacker. They have some guys back.

Speaker 1 (01:14:52):
But that's you go from forty one thirty eight, thirty seven,
forty four to three.

Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
Hey, listen, it happens. I mean, well that's happened.

Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
I mean the Rams are sucking win right now, and
they're keeping this Ravens team in this game. We just
started the third quarter. Rams do have the ball in
Ravens territory, looking for some answers against the worst defense
in the National Football League. All right, we'll continue on here.
We got the games now into the second half. Which
games will go down to the wire. You're gonna find

(01:15:20):
out by keeping it right here. This is end Zone Radio.

Speaker 13 (01:15:24):
Tyron Williams in the home position, Matthew Stafford under center,
hands off Kiren. He's got a crease, he's got the
end zone. Tyron Williams touchdown, La, I'm the touch for
the lead after his best catch as a pro.

Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
Tyron pays it off with six. That's the Rams radio network.

Speaker 1 (01:15:44):
So the Rams finally score a touchdown against the worst
defense in the NFL. Rams take the lead over the
Ravens ten to three, twelve minutes to go in the
third quarter in that game. Once again, end Zone Radio here,
Harvin and Husky, We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios. Yeah,
there was a catch made by Kyron Williams was phenomenal catch.

(01:16:07):
He was falling backwards towards the sidelines, right over the
defender's hand.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
He was able to hang on to the ball.

Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
By the way, the Seahawks have just scored again on
a Sam Darnold pass to Cooper Coude. So the Seahawks
now extend their lead on the road against the Jags
nineteen to six. So let's let's take a look down
at this NFC West. Yeah, oh, by the way, can
I mention one other team in the NFC West. That
would be the Arizona Cardinals, who trailed the Colts fourteen

(01:16:37):
to ten. But they have a second and goal at
the Colts five yard line. So you have the Niners,
you have the Seahawks, you got the Rams, and you
got the Arizona Cardinals. All of a sudden, that's looking
like a very competitive NFC West right now.

Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
Also really quick before you could see you on no
Colin Murray today, we haven't talked about that exactly. Jacobe
Brise quarterble. There have been twelve starting backup quarterbacks by weeks.
That is crazy. That's almost half the league. Ladies and gentlemen,
boys and girls.

Speaker 1 (01:17:07):
Yeah, uh Cardinals again, hanging in there. There's a road
game against the Colts. As soon as I you know,
go out on the limb and say the Colts are
for real.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
They're for real.

Speaker 1 (01:17:17):
And now all of a sudden they're struggling against a
Cardinals team who's coming off a devastating.

Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
That was terrible. What that was terrible? Wow? And I
felt for them because it's almost Steve. We could blame
coaching all we want and and but but you made
a great point. We talked about it. When you have
a lot of injuries, that's when your coaching shows up.
It's as a paro. You and I both parents. Then
we're in both both parents, so we were three parents

(01:17:42):
in here. Parenting is not when you're with your child.
Parenting shows up when your child is away from you.
And you'll learn as ladies and gentleman boys. Have you
got todlers like I do? I have older dars. Boat
as a toller, trust me. When they get thirteen fourteen,
you know your parents are gonna kick in. When you
drop them off at them all to hang out with
their friends, and you give instructions on what to do,

(01:18:03):
where to meet you, what time, what are you going
to be doing.

Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
That's what you made your impact as a parent. You're
with them all the time.

Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
You're with them all the time. And it's like that
with coaching. It doesn't matter if I have my third
right guard. The coaching is going to show up. Who
stungs with the Patriots for twelve years. Guys, they had injuries,
suit they didn't have eleven starters on offense and defense
every year for twenty years.

Speaker 1 (01:18:26):
That's not how it was. But the coaching is what
showed up Tom and Tom again. Arizona just scored touchdown pass.
Jacoby briss sat through a touchdown pass to who did
that go to? Oh McBride. Okay, so seventeen fourteen. Now
the Cardinals have taken the lead on the road against

(01:18:46):
the current number one seat Indianapolis Colts. So I look up.
The Rams just scored again.

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:18:51):
My band, Tyler Higbee, our family friend, Tyler Higby, our
guy by the way.

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
He needs to wire money into my ex's again me
some brand two animal order of wings. He is a
super guy. But that came off of a fumble too.
I want to make sure we get the fans of
the contentt Zay Flowers, my guy who I was enamored
with when he was at Boston College, and I said
that this guy reminds me of Tyreek Hill. He could
be that good when he got to lead it.

Speaker 3 (01:19:17):
I did.

Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
I put it out on the area and there's still
time guys in his third year, but he fumbles, rams
pick it up, punch it back in. Now it kind
of looks like, okay, and here's the fumble right here,
not protecting the football, three guys around you, and you're
still holding it up around your chest with one hand.

Speaker 1 (01:19:33):
Fundamentals, people, all right, Ravens are in deep trouble. They're
down seventeen to three right at the start of this
second half. Meanwhile the Charters of retaking the lead over
the Dolphins sixteen to thirteen. What is the fate of
your coach in Miami?

Speaker 2 (01:19:49):
I don't think they fire him from everything. Like I
said I thought the camera Wolf a few weeks ago.
If this game really gets off the rails, he's okay. No,
because Steven Ross does not want to make a change.
He doesn't he doesn't want to make a change. If
he does, it will be because of the people around
him putting pressure on him to do so I am.

(01:20:10):
I'm telling you. I'm just telling you what I'm here
and I'm not saying it every day. And I use
the word source, but I'm connected to the league. I
covered the league. I talked to people, I text people,
people text me or respond. I've asked hot listen is
he getting fired? And the work keeps coming back to me.
They don't want to. They want to work this out
and see this through.

Speaker 1 (01:20:27):
All right, wit on here well, heading out to the
fourth quarters. Yeah, it's right closing in on the finish.
The seven games around the NFL. Keep it here for
the latest.

Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
This is en Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
Another busy Sunday in the NFL and Zone Radio. We're
in the Fox Sports Radios studios. Seven games going on
right now. We also had a game earlier today. If
you missed it, you didn't miss anything. I mean literally,
you miss nothing. As the Broncos barely eked out a

(01:20:58):
thirteen to eleven victory in London against the Pathetics still.

Speaker 2 (01:21:02):
Winless New York Jets.

Speaker 1 (01:21:04):
That was an absolutely unwatchable football game. Now, we do
have some games going on right now. They're of interest.
The Rams that we said have now taken command of
this game. Against the Ravens are trying to musterter some
kind of drive. Apparently the boo birds are out for
John Harbaugh. You know, what have you done for me lately?
And so yeah, interesting time for.

Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
Like fifteen over the last seventeen years. But yeah, that's
not good enough. And I get it, Steve, I do.

Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
But we we've talked earlier about you. He won a
Super Bowl and that was thirteen years ago. That's true,
that was that's a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
I think what's happening with Harball is the last two years,
the last two years, where they've had our the last
three years, let's just say that they've had the MVP twice,
they had home field advantage one of those years. Yes,
and they've been ousted out in the Division A round
right in the AFC Championship Game. And I think that
starts the weigh on the fan base. And it's not

(01:22:03):
I don't think anybody even thinks about the Super Bowl
thirteen years ago. I just think we're looking at the
last two years and it's like, Okay, man, what's what's up.
You've had talent, we got the MVP, We've bought guys in,
we've drafted well, they've drafted. They've always the newsom's always drafted,
That front office, everybody there has always drafted well over
all of these these years. And I just think over

(01:22:24):
the last two years, we look at this team and
then we blink and we're sitting here on October twelfth
of twenty twenty five to day and we go one
and four. But that guy right there is on the
sideline with a hoodie on. He's not on the field
playing Superman. I think that's got a lot to do
with it. And like I said, I'm I wouldn't fire him,
but if you fire him, you just gotta tell me. Okay,

(01:22:44):
so what are we gonna do. We're gonna fire John
Harball and then go get what the next young wonder kid?
How's that working out? In the NFL?

Speaker 4 (01:22:51):
I think the issue too, is like you've gone through
a bunch of coordinators lately too, like you, so there's
nowhere else to go. I think the fan base frustrat
because like you've seen them over to Monkin and the
defensive coordinator and it's just it's, yeah, it just keeps
getting worse, it feels.

Speaker 1 (01:23:06):
Al Davis was of the mindset that an NFL head
coach has got about a ten year shelf life, tops,
and that's if everything goes right. John Madden was their
ten years, Tom Flores was there nine years, both Hall
of Fame coaches. He just feels like the message whears
after a while, it's not as effective. And that's that

(01:23:28):
was his ten and that's if everything goes right. I mean,
you look at Don Shula. Don Shula holds a record
that will never be broken because Don Shula went the
last twenty two years in Miami without winning a super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
The last twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
Two years that he was against one, y know, Chuck
nol those last fourteen years, no super Bowls, super Bowls,
and so, yeah, the Hall of Famers, you know, all
time legends. I get all that, but at some point,
as a coach, it's just like a player. What is

(01:24:05):
the difference between a player and a coach?

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
A player's got so much shelf life and then it's
over same thing with a coach. And and that's the
that's their thought. And so when you talk about John Harbaugh,
who's been there forever in Baltimore, I mean you could
argue is he in the Hall of Fame. Well, there's
similar coaches I mean Bill Cowers in the Hall of Fame.

(01:24:29):
I guess John Harbaugh could be in the Hall of Fame.
But the Ravens aren't moving forward here. And this idea
of again a built in excuses about injuries. Injuries are everywhere.
We see literally every week, every team in the NFL
suffer injuries. That's where the challenge comes as a coach.
Can you coach up a team to overcome injuries? And

(01:24:52):
now the Ravens just fumble the ball and the Rams
have recovered. And but you're not fundamentally good football right now,
are you.

Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
No, you're not playing fundamental good football. But here's say
with his second that's not on the coach, that's on him.
This is on you, young man, which means he wasn't
over the first one. And the coach can only go
to a guy and say, hey man, hey, hey, look,
don't worry about that. Brush it off. I need you,
We're gonna need you, We're gonna come back to you.
So let that go. As a player, you now have

(01:25:23):
to let that go. But once again, here you're running
a play. He doesn't get a handle on the ball,
it's a bad snap. But you're also playing with a
backup quarterback who has probably only run this play to
say during this week in practice. I guarantee you he
never ran this play to him in training camp. He
never ran this play to him in preseason. Now you're
asking him to do it in a game down double

(01:25:46):
digits one and four star quarterback crowchand fire the coach,
and you're gonna run a play that you haven't run
a lot of. And it's something simple as the exchange
from one guy to the net that's holding the football.
It's as simple as that. And they can't get that done.
I that that's not that's not the coach.

Speaker 5 (01:26:07):
Guys, there's But doesn't that go back to coaching?

Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
It does in my book, What is the purpose.

Speaker 2 (01:26:12):
Of a coach? Why are you running that play? If
you exactly I mean, I agree with you, guys, why
are you running that block?

Speaker 1 (01:26:20):
Stops here? He didn't call the offensive place, he didn't
call that play. Well, he hired the guy that is
calling the offensive play.

Speaker 5 (01:26:27):
I think the unfortunate thing is that you can't fire
as a flowers. But John Harbaugh has been in Baltimore
now what like four years?

Speaker 2 (01:26:35):
I thought he was seventeen. I think it's seventeen Talking
with you guys.

Speaker 5 (01:26:38):
Sometimes you just just relationships go south. At eight seventeen
years is a long.

Speaker 1 (01:26:43):
They need a fresh start there. Uh, they also need
a fresh start in Miami. Wow, Dolphins just gave up
another touchdown and so they trail the Chargers now twenty
three to thirteen.

Speaker 2 (01:26:54):
Justin Herbert, in this game.

Speaker 1 (01:26:55):
Twenty five of thirty, only one hundred ninety five yards
to touchdown and no picks but two picks for two
of today. You know they had the one big touchdown
run and that's pretty much it one in five. And
yet you insist that he's he's safe.

Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
I'm not insistent he's safe. I'm just I'm just reporting
what I have personally, verbally, on phone conversation and through
text messages, have been told. Now, if he gets fired,
I'm sure there'll be the crowd of oh VJs. Listen,
I'm only telling you what I was told there. Just
show me where somebody is saying, yeah, he's did someone
in the front office or someone from inside is saying

(01:27:36):
that he's on the hot seat. Everything that I've heard
and the people that I trust that I speak to,
I say, hey, just tell like, is it even a
thought process. What I've heard is Steven Ross wants this
to work. He does not want to have to make
another coaching change because if he has to fire him,
I guarantee you the same pressure is going to be
put on him to fire Greer too, as the GM

(01:27:58):
who's been there over a decade and has made great
draft picks. But what I always talk about gms is
not who you draft, what is your player retention after
that rookie contract. How many of then State Christian Wilkins
walked out the door, Van Ginkel walked out the door,
Like there are guys that have walked away. There's a
reason for that, And it wasn't all of Mike McDaniel.

(01:28:20):
These guys were brought in before Mike mcdaliel was there.
So there's something that could be going on. It might
just be not a good owner, Steve, I could have it.
I just not be a good owner.

Speaker 1 (01:28:29):
You're trumpeting to the guy that you know is insaying
this forever. Bad organizations are bad organizations. Is the reason
why certain organizations get high draft picks and their players
seem to fail time and time again, and then oftentimes
will go elsewhere and find success. Steelers lead the Browns
sixteen to three. It looks like the Steelers are well
on their way to a four to one start and

(01:28:51):
really take a stranglehold at least now in the NAFC North.
For the Browns in this game, Dylan Gabriel's numbers are
fourteen or twenty one, ninety eight yards, no touchdowns, no picks.
They have no running game. Judkins has twenty two yards rushing,
so they have no offense period. Right, So the question

(01:29:15):
is are we going to see Shador Sanders today? Would
you want to bring in Shudoor Sanders and mop up
duty in the fourth quarter take his first snaps in
a game like this or do you say no, We're
gonna wait now?

Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
Next up for the Browns.

Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
We talked about this before the season began about the
Browns start next week. They will host the Miami Dolphins.
And by the way, that would be unbelievable to see.
You can see you sitting here, see Chardoor Sanders light
up your dolphins as they watch the Dolphins coach out

(01:29:54):
the door, McDaniel out the door. How will you handle that?
How exactly would you hand dad to see Shador Sanders
step in and light up the Dolphins? And put the
final nail in the coffee.

Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
I always tell people the way I've used sports is
I'm a sport guy first, then the team, then the players.
I don't go for players over teams. I think that's ridiculous.
I think it's corny and lame, to be honest with you,
that's just my stands as a sports talk guy.

Speaker 1 (01:30:21):
But you're gonna make an exception for Sander. No, absolutely,
I didn't make one for b Y last week.

Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
Okay, so I didn't make one for By last by.
I didn't make it for him last weekend. I loved
him way before I love Shador. How about this, Let's
flip that script.

Speaker 1 (01:30:34):
If they start Shudor Sanders, he throws three picks in
the first half, Miami runs Cleveland off the field, and
Uh goes back to the bench.

Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
Are you okay with that? Dolphins? Alright? Because that is
not because that's not gonna be the end of Shador Sanders.
This could be the end of the he comes out,
they start him next week, and it's a bunch of
I don't think it's gonnappen. Let me ask you the
first part of your question. No, you don't bring him
in today because I don't. I don't hate or dislike
Dylan Gabriel. I've never I've never said that, I've never

(01:31:03):
let onto that Shador is just a guy that I
row fort you.

Speaker 1 (01:31:06):
This is Dylan Gabriel, this is Dylan Gabriel's game. You
let him take this, you let him eat this. And
I think you start Dylan next week. You just started,
You just started starting him.

Speaker 2 (01:31:15):
You don't want to kill the kids confidence I text
you last week, Week nine, week ten, should door samers
will be starting because they're still gonna be one and
whatever on paper, that would be.

Speaker 1 (01:31:27):
A really good game to start, to me in if
you're going to start them home against the lowly of
Miami Dolphins and that's where they are right now.

Speaker 5 (01:31:34):
Don't you feel there's like kind of a crossing of
the rubicon moment if you put Sitter in the game,
Ali like, you can't. You can't put Suitar in the
game and then take him out.

Speaker 4 (01:31:43):
No, right, right week week right? You just saw this
with the giants that tried. You know, you had to
take Dart out for a play and the booze came
down hard on Rust.

Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
And if you remember in the summer time, guys when
we're doing our here, I said. The Cleveland Browns will
start three quarterbacks this year. They're going to star Shador
at some point because Dylan Grabio is going to sooner
or later, you're gonna have to pull a plus. All right, Listen, buddy,
just have a seat today. Let's just have a seat
this week. Listen. Season is gone. They're gonna lose today,
so they'll be one in five the Dolphins man who
who bat older won in fast. Well, look at the.

Speaker 1 (01:32:16):
Way this goes back to why did the Cleveland Browns
draft two quarterbacks? Because they were not sure about either
one of them, and so they want.

Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
To see what they have. That makes sense.

Speaker 1 (01:32:26):
I mean about black Craft Schador Sanders not to play, okay,
they want to see what they got in him.

Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:32:33):
By the way, during the baseball postseason, Strauss made history
as the first brand ever on the Helmets family owned
since nineteen forty eight. Strauss makes work where built to perform,
smart pocket design, real comfort and durability you can trust,
from grit to glory. Gear up today at Strauss dot com.
That's s t R a Uss dot com. By the way,

(01:32:55):
as we get ready for the National League Championship Series,
which opens up tomorrow Dodgers on the road against the Brewers. Brewers,
by the way, won all six games against the Dodgers
during the regular season. I didn't make a point last night.
I was making a prediction on this NLCS. Back in
nineteen eighty eight, the Dodgers miracle year, you know, with
Kirk kIPS and everything else. They played the New York

(01:33:17):
Mets in the National League Championship Series that year. The
Mets beat them eleven out of twelve times, eleven out
of twelve, and then the Dodgers. Well, I'm the same,
But I know one thing. You lived through this, You've
seen it. And I made that point last day. I
picked the Dodgers to win in seven. But my point
is they're not going to win in seven A show.
Hey Otani doesn't show up at the play.

Speaker 2 (01:33:38):
We talked about that.

Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, fifty six in the series against
the Phillies.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
I don't know if I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (01:33:43):
Steiking out all over the place said Dodgers are so
just loaded, Like you know.

Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
Why, I'm really kind of I ain't go front man,
are they really loaded? They they had a couple of
breaks in that Philly, so like in his team, I'm
falling in love with this team. I have tickets to
one of these games, so I'll be at one of
these NLCS games. I'll be Incha Vince Revie. But I'm
just I really like this squad because they can get
you so many ways. And I love baseball teams like that. Yeah,

(01:34:10):
the Big the Unicorn ain't swinging well, but hell so
is everybody else. Is it timely matter?

Speaker 3 (01:34:16):
Though?

Speaker 2 (01:34:17):
And I like teams like that.

Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
By the way, the Cardinals have taken the lead over
the Colts go a second touchdown pass twenty four seventeen
Cardinals on the road against the Indianapolis Colts minute ago
in the third quarter. All right, we're gonna have some
exciting finishes around the NFL, and we got it all
covered for you. This it's end Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:34:42):
Do you know what time it is? No huddle hour.

Speaker 13 (01:34:48):
Three?

Speaker 1 (01:34:48):
Receivers to the left, shotgun stat for set straight drop
that zips it to the right, caught of the five
bye torch and he's heads for the end zone touchdown.
That's the Cardinals Radio. Were Cardinals with a twenty four
to seventeen lead, but Daniel Jones is just throwing a
touchdown pass. So that game is now tied twenty four

(01:35:09):
to twenty four. Cardinals and Colts, thirteen minutes to go
in the fourth quarter. Hartman and Husky here end Zone radio.
We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios. So all of
a sudden, I'm watching games right now, like which games
are are good? Panthers and the Cowboys has been a
back and forth game. Bryce Young just threw a touchdown

(01:35:29):
pass to McMillan, the rookie out of Arizona. That first
name always bothers me. You can't get do their team act.
They like to call him down there in Carolina. But
right now it looks like did they go for a
two point conversion?

Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
No, they kicked there?

Speaker 1 (01:35:43):
Oh they did so twenty seven to twenty four. Now
Panthers lead the Cowboys with twelve minutes to go. A
couple other games, though, Jaguars finally get on the board,
trailing the Seahawks now twenty to twelve. They are lined
up for two points and they're going for two to
try to make this Why why are.

Speaker 2 (01:36:01):
You doing this? The lead with the next touchdown. I
guess what what?

Speaker 1 (01:36:05):
I don't get it?

Speaker 2 (01:36:06):
Thirteen minutes left, you're at a hole.

Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
Just kick the extra point.

Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
Maybe three possessions on how this game turns out. This
is just once again, but we not going to beat
at the horse with the same stick game.

Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
And not only that took at this the Jacksonville's using
up a time out for a two point conversion? Was
that Seattle?

Speaker 2 (01:36:29):
Okay? So they weren't ready to go all right? So
here we go is this? Oh, they had too many
minute on the field field thirteen what not? Twelve thirteen
men on the field. They better had to stop.

Speaker 5 (01:36:40):
That with the penalty there, and now it makes extra
sense to go for two.

Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
We have another one score game, guys. The Saints just
got a field goal to cut the Patriots lead at
twenty five to nineteen. By the way, in this game,
Drake may is fourteen of eighteen, two hundred and seven
yards and three touchdowns. The two point conversion.

Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
He's stuff. He didn't get in. He got met right
there on the one inch there and he is short. Okay,
why you take the extra point? Now you're down eight.
Now you gotta go for two later in the game.
That's why I don't like that. Now you gotta go
for two. Yeah, thirteen minutes is an eternity, gentlemen. We
know that, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:37:15):
So those are the games right now that are very
much in play. Dolphins. By the way, I'll tell you
a team that's showing the little life right now is
the Ravens. So the Rams lead this game seventeen to three.
The Rams go for it with a fourth and three
inside the five yard line instead of taking the field goal,
and they get stuffed. Actually it was a sack. Notice

(01:37:36):
the quarterback change, and I see that the Ravens have
put Huntley in right. Why wasn't Huntly in before?

Speaker 2 (01:37:44):
I have no idea over Cooper Rush. I never understood
the love of Cooper Rush. I understand he went three
and one or four to one, whoever it was. Well
when Dak was out back in the day and everybody
made a big deal about that, It's like, yeah, it
does not tape on him.

Speaker 1 (01:37:56):
Guys, Why are the Ravens dropping the ball? They got
away with one here? That was a fun recovered by
h who's that?

Speaker 2 (01:38:03):
Speaking of the Ravens, Remember I had a question for you.
I didn't get a chance to ask. I want to
throw this bo You always have a kind of a
diverse football minit. I like talking to him, throwing questions
at you can jump in on this one too, Ravens
go one in five? Do you just shut lamar down?
One in five? Do you just because a hammy? We
all know.

Speaker 1 (01:38:23):
No, you do not shut down a guy. You're paying
that kind of money.

Speaker 2 (01:38:26):
No, groin, you're paying What are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (01:38:31):
It?

Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
Said? Is groin? Quad? Calf? Hamstring? Over the history in sports,
they never healed during the season. You have to manage
them during the season place you never hind And if
he goes out in tears, this thing now he plays.

Speaker 10 (01:38:50):
Derrick Henry, then right.

Speaker 1 (01:38:55):
As playing her, not pampering him. No, you play quarterbacks different.
Quarterback's different. No, quarterbacks different. How many Super Bowls as
he won?

Speaker 2 (01:39:04):
Zero? Zero?

Speaker 1 (01:39:05):
Okay, quarterbacks different. Yeah, you're out there to play. I'm
paying you his zillion, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:39:10):
And if he got and if he and if he
blows his hamstring in week ten, you all will come
on air hyperbolically speaking, anybody could get any player. Why
was he out there at two and eight?

Speaker 11 (01:39:21):
He's you're too What was he out there late in
the fourth when the Ravens are up by a lot?

Speaker 1 (01:39:26):
No, No, no, he goes no, you go down with
the ship. Yeah, I would also protect Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 5 (01:39:32):
What I what I do is if the Ravens lose
this game to go to one in five, I uh,
I'm trading Derrick Henry. I'm trading Mark Andrews. I'm kind
of getting what I can for guys that are not
going to be in the long term play.

Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
I'm gonna get for Derrick Henry. That's the season.

Speaker 5 (01:39:49):
What I would say is that Lamar's hamstring never got
healthy enough for him to play. That's what I would say.

Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
Okay, so not shut him down.

Speaker 5 (01:39:57):
Well, but I would just say that, Yeah, I would
say that isn't ever right.

Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
He was never make it weak the week.

Speaker 5 (01:40:03):
But I'm definitely blowing it up if they if they
don't win this game, like, the Ravens have run their course.
This this version of the Ravens is done and there's
no no need to do this anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:40:12):
Boy, I don't know you guys are you're smoking something here?
No way we play out. I'm paying you for a season.

Speaker 2 (01:40:20):
Good, I'm not letting you. I'm not paying you, so
just sit on the bench.

Speaker 1 (01:40:23):
Because the season got away from us. If you're effing way.

Speaker 5 (01:40:27):
If you don't have a chance, if you're the Ravens
and you're one in five, one and six, two and six.

Speaker 1 (01:40:32):
Business, no no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 5 (01:40:34):
You let Lamar play and he tears his achilles. You
losing for next year? Is that like worth?

Speaker 6 (01:40:39):
It?

Speaker 2 (01:40:39):
Cannot get question.

Speaker 1 (01:40:40):
I'm gonna give you a little history lesson. I like
to do history lessons here. Nineteen seventy, the year of
the merger, a third year expansion. Any of the CINCINNTI
Bengals started the year one and six fourteen game schedule,
they won their last seven in a row and won
the division eight and.

Speaker 2 (01:40:55):
Six fifteen is not going to do that and you
know it. But look, really, Steve, Steve, the Ravens are not.

Speaker 1 (01:41:02):
Then buyer John Harbuby because you have a coach that
you don't have any faith, has an opportunity to turner
season around.

Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
I just think you have a quarterback in there that
made the Pro Bowl? Did he not listen? I just
said last segment. I agree with you on the stance
that maybe the voice is old, maybe the message is old.
I get that it's been seventeen years, but you are
talking about you have to mortgage your future. The NFL

(01:41:29):
is a business and owners make business decisions. Smart dude.
And if we go one India, he's not playing next week,
so let'st if they look the Lamar Jackson's not playing
next week, so let's just go ahead and book one.
And let's just go to book one and six at
one in six, what half the year gone? Like both said,
it's he's still weak to week. But you kind of.

Speaker 1 (01:41:51):
Know, you know who's gonna get the heat on that
Lamar Jackson. He quit on his team. We talk about
the team that they quit. He was he could have
played in tweak twelve week third Tanny Quick and that
story of goal away Steven, it won't go because I'll
never let it go ever, real quick, real quick.

Speaker 4 (01:42:08):
We we have to consider into this the team they
have to like surpass to get to the playoffs. Like
I know they have started very well, but I it's
hard for me to look at this Ravens right now,
who still have two head to head games against them,
and say there's no way that they could feasibly catch
the Steelers, who have not played any of the good
teams so far on their roster.

Speaker 1 (01:42:28):
By the way, right now, the Ravens are going right.

Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
Down at it today and they're gonna walk at it
today at five and one.

Speaker 4 (01:42:33):
Then you want, but I just don't feel like that's
also completely insurmountable to Steve's point, either.

Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
Okay, let's find out what's trending right now. Just gotta
chan Chan is trending from Monci's fantasy team, that's who's trending. Yeah,
all of a sudden, your Dolphins are looking good.

Speaker 11 (01:42:46):
I saw my fantasy team dropping balls left and right,
so I don't even know.

Speaker 10 (01:42:50):
I don't even looked. Yeah, so there we go. Yeah,
you know what I'm saying. But Teddoroa McMillan is also on.

Speaker 11 (01:42:56):
My fantasy and he's got two touchdown passes today. That's
been the funnest game so far. The Cowboys and the Panthers.
Cowboys are driving. They're at Carolina's eight yard line, trying
to get in the end zone early, still in the
fourth quarter. But the Panthers are up right now, twenty
seven to twenty four. When it comes to those Steelers,
who are three to one against.

Speaker 10 (01:43:16):
The Browns, they are up twenty three to six. All
of these games are in the.

Speaker 11 (01:43:21):
Fourth quarter, Just so everybody is aware, but this one
is so early in the fourth, just like the Cardinals
and the Colts, that's back to a tied game at
twenty four apiece. In Indianapolis, the Dolphins are trying to,
you know, come back here against the Chargers, but LA
right now is still up twenty six to twenty, about
eight minutes to go. In this one, with about five

(01:43:41):
minutes to go, the Rams have a seventeen to three
lead over the Ravens, but the Ravens are in the
red zone.

Speaker 10 (01:43:47):
And they're trying to get in the end zone as well.

Speaker 11 (01:43:49):
We've got the Patriots or the Saints twenty five to nineteen,
also about ten minutes to go.

Speaker 10 (01:43:54):
And then we got the Seahawks and.

Speaker 11 (01:43:56):
The Jaguars, where Seattle is up right now twenty to twelve,
still about ten minutes to go. In case you missed
the game in London, you didn't miss much. As Steve
Hartman said earlier today, Bronco survived thirteen to eleven against
the Jets New York, still looking for their first win
of the season. In college football, Penn State has fired
James Franklin. Oregon State has fired head coach Trent Bray.

(01:44:16):
They have an zero and seven start to this season
and an ap college football pool. Ohio State number one,
Miami comes in at number two.

Speaker 10 (01:44:24):
How about Indiana coming in at number three?

Speaker 11 (01:44:27):
They deserves ranking in pro Graham history. I'm becoming a
Hoo'sier fan because I don't have a football team.

Speaker 1 (01:44:34):
They're gonna be great, but unfortunately in two weeks, in
two weeks, UCLA is going to go on the road
in Bloomington and pull up the victory against the Hoosiers
watching and that.

Speaker 11 (01:44:44):
Would be fun, and that would be that's also a
fun story, you know what I'm saying. Alabama moved up
two spots number six. Usc comes in at number twenty
after yesterday's win, and Texas, who fell.

Speaker 10 (01:44:57):
Out last week, back in the top twenty five. They're
in at number twenty two.

Speaker 11 (01:45:01):
But Oklahoma fell eight spots to number fourteen with its
first loss to.

Speaker 1 (01:45:05):
Texts Michigan out of the top twenty five.

Speaker 11 (01:45:07):
So five teams dropped out of the poll, Michigan, Illinois,
Arizona State, Iowa State, and Florida State.

Speaker 2 (01:45:15):
Michigan dropped ten spots into a team that they were
on the road and an underdog.

Speaker 1 (01:45:20):
Because they didn't look good.

Speaker 2 (01:45:21):
They did not they got worked. They actually, I know
you guys want to troll right now. I was there.
They didn't get worked. A We're not going to get no.

Speaker 1 (01:45:29):
No, no awayteen points again, how many points?

Speaker 2 (01:45:35):
Scord swarming on the field, Yeah, squad, I've watched all Yeah,
they were swarming. We also lost our starting running back
into anyway, no excuses. It was two running backs carted
off the field.

Speaker 5 (01:45:46):
Basically this kid, yeah kid.

Speaker 3 (01:45:48):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:45:49):
The kid that came in played well and I had
a chance to speak them last night. Nice young man, okayunk.

Speaker 1 (01:45:53):
Man MONTI all good, oh good, thank you appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
All right, thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (01:45:59):

this is our No Huddle Hour, is it not? Is
this not our no huddle hour.

Speaker 2 (01:46:28):
Do you know what time it is? No huddle hour? Yeah?
I played it going to break less last Yeah, he
played a sound by. He played the sound by already
I just huddle hour?

Speaker 1 (01:46:38):
Yeah, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (01:46:39):
What hour is it? No huddle louur a hear that.
Let's try this one more time, no huddle hour.

Speaker 1 (01:46:44):
Okay, just a moment ago, I was talking about we
had four games that are one score games. We now
have five games that are one score games. And the
Ravens are still moving, so we'll see what happens here.

Speaker 2 (01:46:58):
Speaking of them, I just cowboys tied it up. I
just looked at something during the break to speaking on
just to put a cap on the lamar in the
Ravens situations. Bears at Minnesota at my Bears at Minnesota
at Miami Cleveland, like, and those aren't tough, tough games.
But I think we're learning, and I think we already,
all of us already knew all of this is you

(01:47:19):
know it. We just don't know from week to week.
But if this is gonna be the trend for them,
and if bo is right, and I did trade deadlines
coming up, I trade dead ground. If you start trading guys,
then there is no need to put your two time
MVP franchise guy out there. And like I said, like
both said, I agree. I don't know if you bo.

(01:47:40):
I'll be honest with you, bro. Even if they come
out two weeks from now when they say, hey, he
had we had a second and third opinion and we're
shutting him down, it's him. It's not Lamar saying oh,
I'm not gonna know. It's them saying, look, we're not
gonna put you out there. What's going on out there?
You are our franchise guy. This year's loss, this little

(01:48:01):
run right now is over. Let's reset. Let's get that
thing one hundred percent clear. You've done your part.

Speaker 1 (01:48:07):
No, Jackson is not gonna sit if he is able
to play, No way, He's way too competitive to do that.

Speaker 2 (01:48:13):
He doesn't have a choice, of course he has. He doesn't.
If he's total no, he does not. If he's to
they get rid of me. We're sitting. He's not gonna
do that. They're they're rid of me. I know. I
feel we're.

Speaker 1 (01:48:24):
Talking about well, we've talked a lot about Joe Burrow
wanting out of Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (01:48:28):
He can't you can't stay on the field, so you
can't ask out now.

Speaker 5 (01:48:33):
But like, if the Bengals is there, if if Joe
Burrow comes back, because it's what three months that he's
supposed to be saying, so like that could be December,
that's December Christmas. The Bengals are probably gonna be you know,
terrible by then. Are they gonna play him because he
is healthy and can play, or are they just gonna
by them?

Speaker 2 (01:48:50):
I go to him and do the same thing by
that time, let's just say three and eleven. No, no point,
what's the point. I'm sorry, No, it happens all the time.
If I'm Lamar Jackson. If I'm Lamar Jackson, I'm like,
I can't win with this team. We don't have any defense.
You know, my running back is getting old. I want
to I'm still at prime years. I want out and.

Speaker 1 (01:49:11):
Joe Burrow once out of Cincinnati. If I'm Lamar Jackson,
I want doubt the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
That's not the truth though, because for the last three
years they've gone deep into playoffs.

Speaker 1 (01:49:20):
He can win with as DPS Joe Burrow went.

Speaker 2 (01:49:22):
They yeah, Joe Borr has done it one time five
years ago. Can we let that go with Joe Burrow.
Are we just gonna let Joe Burrow skate by off
the one Super Bowl appearance he had five years ago?

Speaker 1 (01:49:33):
Well, that's one more super Bowl appearance to Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 2 (01:49:36):
Had just make sure we say the same thing about
Josh Allen, As I said.

Speaker 1 (01:49:40):
I mean, what are we talking about here? Lamar Jackson
has zero Super Bowl appears, so.

Speaker 2 (01:49:44):
Did Josh Allen. But you guys are saying this about
Doctor Team.

Speaker 5 (01:49:46):
I think unfortunately your mindset comes from a time where
guys were not making as much money as right.

Speaker 1 (01:49:53):
Well, I understand that, But my point is is that
if you're Lamar Jackson, do you think this is a
healthy organizaation right now?

Speaker 2 (01:50:00):
The Ravens.

Speaker 5 (01:50:01):
I mean, I could totally see Lamar like wanting to
leave given the way the season looks like.

Speaker 1 (01:50:06):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:50:08):
Yeah, I'm on the opposite side of that is one.

Speaker 1 (01:50:10):
I mean, if you want me to sit out the year, wow, okay,
well maybe I'll sit out my career.

Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
Shot me in the last three or four This is one year, guys.
I think this might be I think.

Speaker 5 (01:50:20):
This is the needle that broke the haystack coming into
the year everyone was like, the you know, the Bills,
the Bills finally have to get over the hump. But
I think it was the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (01:50:29):
I got to give an update here on the score.
But all right, we got a lot of games. Cardinals
have a twenty seven to twenty four lead, nine and
a half minutes to go right now, Colts.

Speaker 2 (01:50:38):
With the ball.

Speaker 1 (01:50:40):
Dolphins have the ball now trailing the Chargers twenty six
to twenty six minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Saints have the ball down six twenty five nineteen to
the Patriots, eight fifty to go. In that game, Cowboys
Panthers tied to twenty seven, eight to forty to go.
Panthers with the ball, Seahaw hanging on to an eight

(01:51:01):
point lead over the Jaguars. Seahawks with a ball nine
minutes to go. The Ravens did not score, so the
Rams still have a seventeen to three lead just three
and a half minutes to go. That game is over over.
Brown's too little, too late. They're down to the Steelers
twenty three to six. So those are the seven games
going on right now. But five of these games, five
of these games are still in play, and by the way,

(01:51:25):
one guy that VG and I have been desperately trying
to hang on to faith wise, is Bryce Young. And
Bryce Young today has had a game fourteen of nineteen,
one hundred and seventy four yards, three touchdown passes.

Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
But this daddle guy who is he?

Speaker 1 (01:51:44):
Rico Rico who had over a thousand yards rushing for
the Cowboys last year, completely forgotten, had a huge game
last week. How about this one hundred and fifty eight
yards rushing today, fifty six yards receiving. That's two hundred
and fourteen yards from scrimmage unks. Suddenly the Panthers have
a star hungry man.

Speaker 2 (01:52:02):
When you go somewhere, you need a change of scenery.
He got an opportunity with Dallas last year, thousand yard rusher,
and then he's brought it to a situation where they say, hey,
we want a little more out of you than what
Dallas used you for. He's not making a bunch of money, man,
he's hungry. It's like the music industry, right. Some of
the greatest artists ever, their best album is which album
guys the first? The first one, man, Because that's when

(01:52:23):
they're hungry, that's when they're sleeping on someone's sofa. That's
when they're eating oodles and noodles and frost spam sandwiches
for lunch. They're hungry, and some of these NFL pro
players are the same. Way, you get opportunity. He's got healthy, young,
fresh legs, Let him use them.

Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
Dak Prescott's having a great game. Twenty two thirty one,
two hundred and sixty nine yards, three touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:52:42):
Zero picks.

Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
Always the Cowboys have no running game, but they're keeping
themselves in this matchup right now with the Panthers again
twenty seven all eight and a half minutes to go
in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
Their thousand yard running backs on the other sideline right now.
That's why they don't have much.

Speaker 1 (01:52:57):
Exactly much of a run. The guy that they gave up,
Javonte Williams, is not getting it done as far as
the running game is concerned. All right, coming up on
the other side, we got these exciting finishes around the NFL,
which games will go down to the wire, plus the
perfect picks. This is red end Zone Radio.

Speaker 8 (01:53:17):
Second down and goal from about the six yard line.
Out of the gun goes Jones, tailoring the loan back
to the right side. Jones looks left ba's to throw
thrones in the end zone. Touchdown, touch downs, touchdown?

Speaker 2 (01:53:31):
Indeed?

Speaker 5 (01:53:32):
Why and the.

Speaker 9 (01:53:33):
Colts are an extra point away from time the ball game.

Speaker 1 (01:53:37):
That's Golts Radio Network. Well since then, the Cardinals took
the lead on a field goal. But the Colts have
the ball back. They're in Arizona territory right now, twenty
seven to twenty four, Arizona leading the Colts eight forty
to go in the fourth end.

Speaker 2 (01:53:52):
There was a touchdown I think rushing here there was
another one. Yeah, no, it's another one. Is Jonathan Taylor
easy untouched?

Speaker 1 (01:53:58):
Yeah there, we got it, all right, So he is
in all right, So there you go. So the Colts
will have retaken the lead. Is that official?

Speaker 2 (01:54:05):
We got that. That is official. We're waiting for the
pat now.

Speaker 1 (01:54:07):
There it is all right. So the Colts take the lead.
Now we're down to five minutes to go in the
fourth quarter in that game. All right, once again, end
zone radio with you here, Fox Sports Radio Studios. So
let's catch you up on the scoreboard. So the Colts
take the lead thirty one. Did they get the extra point?
I'm a little behind here.

Speaker 2 (01:54:24):
On my scoreboard. They got it.

Speaker 1 (01:54:26):
I got your buddy, Okay, Chargers still lead the Dolphins
twenty six to twenty. But the Dolphins are all the
way down to the Chargers twenty seven yard line. They
have a third down right now, we're inside the two
minute mark.

Speaker 2 (01:54:37):
Third down has been converted, gave to the big rookie
at Oklahoma State. Got the first down, first and ten
right now for the Dolphins at the twenty four.

Speaker 1 (01:54:44):
All right, Saints and the Patriots. And the Saints have
the ball five minutes to go, still trailing the Patriots
twenty five to nineteen. Let's see here, the Browns got
a field goal. Why I'm not sure they're the down
two touch listen man, nine and a half minutes to go.
They took the field goal there. Panthers and Cowboys tied

(01:55:05):
to twenty seven, still six minutes to go. Jaguars with
the ball down eight against the Seahawks, they would be
down seven, but for some reason they detrived for two points.
Ravens with the ball too little, too late, inside two
minutes to go, trailing the Rams by a score of
seventeen to three. Let's get back to this Dolphins game
right now. Let's focus here. But first here we go

(01:55:26):
the precise, profitable picks.

Speaker 2 (01:55:30):
Over under a half a flagrant.

Speaker 6 (01:55:32):
Gentlemen, These these are your perfect picks.

Speaker 2 (01:55:35):
All right, guys.

Speaker 4 (01:55:36):
For a few weeks agoing back and forth and splitting,
we finally had a two to oh sweep this week
and it was to Steve took the under on Remandra
Stevens rushing yards. He took the over on Jags takeaways
at one and a half twoos.

Speaker 2 (01:55:50):
That leaves the running total I believe at six to two.

Speaker 1 (01:55:53):
Steve, all right, you need to come back here.

Speaker 2 (01:55:55):
Solar can't lose to me.

Speaker 1 (01:55:56):
You understand this. Nobody loses.

Speaker 2 (01:55:58):
Listen if I do was your Hall of Fame? Yeah,
They're like, dude, I am.

Speaker 1 (01:56:04):
I do not feel comfortable in this rule.

Speaker 2 (01:56:06):
I no, you should feel comfortable. I win a lot
do so if someone beat if someone beats me here
at Fox Sports Radio, I would be honored at It
would be the Hall of Famer. I sit next to
Goick Chris.

Speaker 4 (01:56:16):
Okay, So we've got an opportunity to see something that
hasn't happened since nineteen sixty two this year, as Joe
Flacco with the Cincinnati Bengals takes on the Green Bay Packers.
If he beats the Packers, he will be the first
quarterback with two separate teams to beat the same team
twice in a year since Jack Kemp in nineteen sixty two,
second ever to do it.

Speaker 2 (01:56:35):
So, gentlemen, Jack Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:56:39):
Joe Flacco's passing yards one forty two and a half.
This over under is being based on the yards he
put up against the Packers when when he beat them
with the Browns he had one forty two.

Speaker 2 (01:56:51):
So one forty two and a half over under. Joe
Flacco passing yards.

Speaker 5 (01:56:54):
All right, I.

Speaker 1 (01:56:55):
Will go first. Is that okay with you? Since you're trailing?
Or do you want to go first?

Speaker 2 (01:57:00):
Go first? Okay, I will go over. I think Joe
Flacco is gonna light him up. He's got Jamar Chase.

Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:57:10):
It's kind of easy for me too. I got to
go because, I mean, he's got the guy that can
help him do it. If he didn't have that guy,
I might go under. But just throw throw to number one.

Speaker 4 (01:57:20):
It's some extras. We've got some extras. Let's go on
to uh falcons are taking on? Who are they taking on?

Speaker 2 (01:57:28):
Again? So the Falcons were off this week. If I'm
not mistake bills money night Monday night. Yeah, so Jeon
Robinson has been a bit of a revelation this. I
I will up this if you both go low on this,
just because the backup b Jeon Robinson over under one hundred.

Speaker 4 (01:57:45):
And fifty and a half scrimmage yards. That's about what
his average has been. Usually he'll have like a slope rushing,
but then he'll have.

Speaker 2 (01:57:52):
A good game receiver. All right, all right, I'll go
I'll go first on this one. It's it's I think
it would be so Buffalo. I have two subpart back
to back home games against under five hundred teams and
then go on the road, gets the team where everybody's
probably talking, oh, they're gonna get killed because the way
they've looked the last two weeks. And then the next thing,

(01:58:13):
you know, you know, they perform, they perform well, they
perform well. So I'll go I'll go, I'll go under
on this right here, go under on that. I'll go on.

Speaker 1 (01:58:24):
No, I'll go over on that. Right now, we're got
the Dolphins and the Chargers going on. So give me
an update on this game. I don't have it on
that street.

Speaker 2 (01:58:34):
Out pass wide open to Darren Waller, I just said
doing last commercial break to you, why does he have
one catch for five yards? You could tell he's starting
to He's starting to roar, you know, rounded to himself
and my man Ooz fons him in the corner the
ENDZO forty three seconds left, extra point coming up here,
twenty six twenty six with the extra point to come

(01:58:56):
for the Dolphins and the Charger will have one time
out with.

Speaker 1 (01:58:58):
Forty six second. I will say that if the Chargers
lose this game, you go fire hardball.

Speaker 2 (01:59:03):
I mean, it's a disastrous loss. You were up, you
were up. We fire both hardboss in the same year.

Speaker 1 (01:59:10):
I mean, for the Chargers will lose a third straight
game where they are up two touchdowns against a struggling
Miami team and lose the game.

Speaker 2 (01:59:18):
That's a bad one. I don't care right now.

Speaker 1 (01:59:20):
That's a bad bad look all right, we need one
more here, we got about a minute left.

Speaker 4 (01:59:24):
We're going to Sunday Night football. I've got two different
quarterback ones. Let's try this one. Jared Goff. His passer
ratings have been phenomenal this year, already starting to enter
some MVP consideration. Jared Goff won twenty and a half
passer rating over under it if you don't like that this.
I have a passion against the Chiefs. Against the Chiefs. Yes,
number I know, but he's been pretty much conceived. He'll

(01:59:45):
go over he's only dropped. I've been I've been consistent
on this. The Chiefs defenses and decline goff lights him up.

Speaker 2 (01:59:51):
Do you have an extra one after this? I have
because I'm kind of with him on if.

Speaker 4 (01:59:56):
The Chiefs details toally understood, I understand the all right, then.

Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
I'm going to go.

Speaker 4 (02:00:02):
Patrick Mahomes, who was the rushing leader for the for
the Chiefs the last game against the Jaguars DraftKings has
their his rushing at twenty five and a half yards.
I will bump this up if I need to get
action from you guys. Yeah, bump it up.

Speaker 1 (02:00:18):
Like thirty three and to hear what you have to
say on what on the twenty five and a half right.

Speaker 2 (02:00:27):
Under over over over there we go over go because
we can't shut down some rushing quarterbacks. You knows. That's
all right.

Speaker 1 (02:00:33):
We got the exciting finishes coming up of seven games
around the National Football League.

Speaker 2 (02:00:37):
Keep it here.

Speaker 1 (02:00:38):
This is end Zone Radio. All right, let's catch you
up right now here. Final hour for us here on
end Zone Radio or in the Fox Sports Radio studios.
We'll get to a game that got away from Vjay's
team to focus in on what's going on right now
in Indianapolis. So the Colts lead the Cardinals thirty one

(02:00:59):
to twenty seven. Cardinals have a fourth and seven right now,
and this is it for the Cardinals. It's been unbelievable.
Jacoby Brisset two hundred and sixty four yards passing a
couple of touchdowns. But this is the last gas for
the Cardinals right now, trying to rebound after last week's
disastrous loss. And he's looking into the end zone and

(02:01:20):
it is incomplete, no flags and McBride is screaming, where's
the penalty? There is no penalty. The ball was badly overthrown.
So it looks like the Indianapolis Colts will survive and
move their record to five and one on the season,
the current number one seed. Let's watch a replay here, VJ.

(02:01:43):
Because McBride was the intended receiver.

Speaker 2 (02:01:45):
And he's grabbed and touched right there, grabbing over him.
That's a flag. I'm sorry, that's a flag and he
knows it. And see when the defender throws his hands
up like that he knows he's had him. Now, this
is a problem I had with a call like this.
For certain players, in certain quarterbacks and teams, they get
that flag every single time. But the Cardinals, for some reason,

(02:02:06):
on the same play, the side just he's standing right there,
he's looking at the play, he's watching the them grab
the receiver for five yards and then when we Brad
shows the break out of his cut, he's openly held. Okay,
so let me ask a bigger question.

Speaker 1 (02:02:21):
And by the way, Bill Belichick favored this for years
and years and years. Why can't you review a penalty?
I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean you're limited.
There's you know, you may have one or two opportunities
to review a penalty now or But that's the whole thing.
Remember they did with this pass interference that wasn't a penalty.

(02:02:44):
There was nothing called. So you're gonna challenge a non penalty?
I think that what they say, how do you define this?
The NFL SHO, I got the perfect answer for you, Dan,
And by the way, the NFL comes out and said, well,
penalty should have been calling on that play. It happens
every week.

Speaker 2 (02:02:59):
There should be a them implemented where New York is
watching the game, and they should be able to buzz
down and say, hey, guys, you missed that one. We're
we're we're implementing our power as we watch in the
Carolina Panthers line up four game winning field goal.

Speaker 1 (02:03:13):
Here it is three seconds, the kicker is up and
the kick is God God. The Panthers have defeated the
Dallas Cowboys thirties seven. The Panthers are three and three.
The Cowboys talk to two three and one. Dad will
finish with one hundred and sixty one yards rushing and
Bryce Young three touchdown passes on the day. Uh comes

(02:03:38):
away a winner. So the Panthers are very much in
the chase in the NFC South. Right, now, look out
the Panthers, one.

Speaker 2 (02:03:47):
Of my teams I thought would have a turnaround year.
What I happened at nine and eight? I think I've
met like nine to eight. I'm looking all right right
there with that one. Not so well with some of
these other teams, all right, So let's get back to
your team, the Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (02:03:57):
So what happened in this game was the Dolphins took
the seven to twenty six and Justin Herbert avoided not one, but.

Speaker 2 (02:04:06):
Two sacks back to back plays, back to back plays.

Speaker 1 (02:04:08):
The first one he got out of. The second one, though,
was the killer, as he was able to wriggle away
from the Dolphins who apparently can't tackle anybody. And then
they got the ball out to mcconkeye, who made one
interior step, moved get right past the Dolphin defender and
it was off to the races. They ran down the clock,

(02:04:29):
last second field goal, Chargers huge win on the road,
twenty nine to twenty seven as the Dolphins fall to
one and five.

Speaker 2 (02:04:36):
I think there will be a coach fired by tomorrow morning, guys,
but I don't think it's going to be a head coach.
Anthony Weaver has to be fired. This defense is atrocious.
This defense finished seventh in the NFL overall last year,
and that's why people thought that they would be a
lot better than they are. Once again, the Dolphins score
almost thirty two in the office, put up almost thirty

(02:04:57):
and they lose. Is this starting to reminiscent of the
Dan Marino days when Dan Marine's have to win thirty
five to thirty two Sunday after Sunday because the defense
couldn't stop anybody. This defense can't stop a nosebleed. And
the move that McConkie put on that guy is so elementary.
I see, I see sight, I see sophomore high school
receivers make that move. They make a guy and make
a guy overrun. But if you go back and watch

(02:05:17):
the defender, he's standing straight up, he's not down, he's
not under control, and he overruns. And you can't do
that knowing that you're the last line of defense. Are
these guys off to the races. Kudos to the Chargers,
Kudos to Justin Herberts. While I love Justin Herbert, big
strong guy. I've had a chance to meet him, talk
to him several times. I remember the first time I
ever saw him. He's a big like people don't realize

(02:05:39):
how big. Like his arms, like the guys. He's a big,
strong guy. So Jalen Phillips had him wrapped up twice
and Braley Chubb to play before that, and he just
he did what he does. But another bad loss for
the Dophins, But kudos to the Chargers and getting on
back on the winning track for Harbor and then for Herbert.

Speaker 1 (02:05:55):
Right another final Justin the Seahawks of beating the Jaguars
on the road. Seahawks by the way, three and oh
on the road this year twenty to twelve, Sam Donald's
sixteen or twenty seven two hundred ninety five yards, two touchdowns,
no picks, So another big game for Sam Donald. Trevor
Lawrence was fine, Yeah, just not as good twenty seven

(02:06:15):
to forty two, two fifty eight, two touchdowns, again no picks.
Neither team showed much of a running game. But Jacksonville
falls to four to four and two, and now the
Seahawks are sitting at four and two. So I would
say at least I say this week to week. I
would not say it over the course of a season.
At least in the moment, the Seahawks seem for real.

(02:06:36):
I mean three and oh on the road.

Speaker 2 (02:06:37):
No three or old road is legit because you have
to win on the road in the National Football League.
Why is Trevor Lawrence throwing forty two passes though they're
not running the ball? I think, well, okay, so then
something's got to change there. Yeah, I know, not running
the ball well. You have to run the ball enough.
Running the ball well and running the ball enough is
a different story. Even in sports, especially in a coaching we
have a thing. I don't care if they're stopping it.

(02:06:59):
When it comes to the running game, you still have
to run the football in some shape fashion of form.
Asking Trevor Lawrence to drop back forty two times a Sunday,
I will never think will be a recipe for them
to be super successful. I think it's got to be
more of a balance there. And forty two passes for

(02:07:20):
twelve points. Now, they blew this by going for two,
which we pointed out going for two made them actually
had to play what I call catch up football from
that point. Twelve carries from Travis et and Junior that's
just not enough. That's just not enough. Just toward nineteen
rushing tips as opposed to forty two passes. And the

(02:07:40):
game was in balance, and the game was a one
possession game, right ste for three and a half quarters.
So you can't say, well, VJ, they were down a
bunch and they had no they didn't have to throw,
they chose not to. That's more of a coaching schematic
problem in my humble opinion.

Speaker 1 (02:07:54):
All Right, the Steelers about to make it a final
now as they lead the Browns twenty three to actually
three minutes to go Browns with the ball, So I
guess nothing's impossible at this point. Seems unlikely, but let's
put this in perspective. Remember the Steelers had to buy
last week, so they win, they go to four and one.
The Ravens are one and five after their loss today

(02:08:15):
to the Rams four and one Steelers with Aaron Rodgers
one in five, Ravens three quarterbacks in.

Speaker 2 (02:08:22):
Now are you saying the divisions over?

Speaker 1 (02:08:25):
Well again, the Browns with a loss are now one
in five. So the Browns are one and five, the
Ravens are one and five, Steelers are four and one in.
The Bengals, who are two and three, are on the
road today against Green Bay with Joe Flacco quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (02:08:38):
So yeah, I would.

Speaker 1 (02:08:39):
Say if I were to you, really, you know, be
forced to get wager on which team do you think
is going to win the AFC North. I think I'm
gonna wager on Aaron Rodgers, Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 2 (02:08:52):
But a way is looking right now, I would have
to agree with you. And it's kind of just one
of those years that just failed to them. I tell
you this, and I'm telling you guys right now, so
it won't be you know, me just making it up
down the line. It still is when the division going away,
I'm telling you this, they this is one of the
most lucky division winners that you ever would have seen.
Because you can't tell me you think they're losing Burrow

(02:09:15):
for until Christmas and Lamar Jackson possibly could be a
shutdown candidate before the season started. No, no one could
tell me they predicted that. That was not on your
Bengo card. But you know, the things really weirdly happened.
It's the magic. It's the magic of Aaron Rodg. Yeah, no, yo, yeah,
I'm pretty sure. Also flip over really quick to the
NFC East to talk about Dallas Cowboys loss against the

(02:09:36):
against the Carolina Panthers. Kudos to the Carolina the Panthers,
but now when you go looking at this NFC East,
you have all these other teams losing that are still
behind Philly. So for the sky to be falling. As
we started off the show with the Philadelphia Eagles, Who's
who's gonna catch them?

Speaker 1 (02:09:51):
Who don't know? The Commanders looked pretty good and they're
blowout victory last week against the Chargers, and.

Speaker 2 (02:09:57):
We'll see if on the road and we'll see if
that can contain you. But they're still behind the Eagles
even with a blow Yeah, but if they still behind them.

Speaker 1 (02:10:05):
Well they would be even with them if they can
you know, beat the Bears.

Speaker 2 (02:10:10):
Yeah, well at home. Well yeah, we saw what happened
last year. They needed they needed they needed a hell
Mary to do that. Like the Bear the Bears played.
The Bears should have won that game, so they didn't
blow them away. But I'm just pointing these small little things.

Speaker 1 (02:10:25):
You can't The Eagles can't stand on anything right now.
They got blown out by the Giants on the road
with a rookie quarterback and a rookie running back.

Speaker 2 (02:10:33):
Can we say the same about Buffalo who got embarrassed
at home by the Patriots? Hear the Bills. I'm not
defending the Bills, asking can we say the same thing, Well, I.

Speaker 1 (02:10:44):
Mean the Bills an interesting game for the Bills. I
mean there's two money night games. We got the Bears
that the Commander's got the Bills at the Falcons. There's
a Falcons team that you know not with Carolina All
of a sudden in the.

Speaker 2 (02:10:55):
Mix cut nothing doesn't look so bad now, huh, right, Carolina.

Speaker 1 (02:11:00):
So you know the Falcons if they can beat Buffalo
their four and a half point dogs, but if they
can somehow beat Buffalo at home. And again, anyone that
wagers out there knows that home dogs on Monday Night football,
although not a guarantee, are usually.

Speaker 2 (02:11:15):
A pretty good bet.

Speaker 1 (02:11:17):
If you got a home dog on Monday Night football.
So now, I mean, this is where we're at right now. Okay,
so the early games are in the books. Now we
got the games going on right now. So we got
the Titans at the Raiders. Did a little preview earlier
with Jonathan Vellemon on this one. Let's see if the
Raiders can get things right today. I mean, wow, Ginos

(02:11:39):
Smith nine interceptions, he has been awful. And Chip Kelly
why why would you hire him as your offensive coordinator?

Speaker 2 (02:11:51):
Radio? Raiders are a mess.

Speaker 1 (02:11:52):
Then we got the Bengals at the Packers, they got
the forty nine ers at the Bucks. Those names are
kicking off, all right. We'll be right back and continue
on here on a very busy once again Sunday. Oh
by the way, did you notice during the baseball postseason
that Strauss made history as the first brand ever on
Helmets family owned since nineteen forty eight. Strauss makes work.

(02:12:14):
We're built to perform, smartpocket design, real comfort and durability.
You can trust from grit to glory. Gear up today
at Strauss dot com. That's st r Uss dot com.
By the way, we have the potential of history being
made in these league championship series if the Seattle Mariners

(02:12:37):
and the Milwaukee Brewers move on to the World Series.
Essentially it's Seattle versus Seattle because the Milwaukee Brewers were
the Seattle Pilots their very first season in nineteen sixty nine,
moved to Milwaukee after that one year in Seattle, so
you would have a potential of Seattle versus Seattle sort

(02:12:57):
of technically. And again, the Seattle Mariners are the only
one of the thirty Major league franchises that has never
played in a World Series.

Speaker 2 (02:13:06):
So but would it be has the Brewers ever won one?

Speaker 1 (02:13:08):
They've never won one?

Speaker 2 (02:13:09):
Okay, so would be the battle of the never one
never won once? Yeah, battle of the net. So whoever,
we would be guaranteed to be seeing history correct if
those two get there. But that's not gonna happen, by
the way.

Speaker 1 (02:13:23):
Note on the Brewers last time Layers got to the
league Championship Series was in twenty eighteen, where they.

Speaker 2 (02:13:28):
Lost to the Dodgers five SI ago. The doll years
right there, All.

Speaker 1 (02:13:32):
Right, we continue on here, keep it here for all
the latest NFL news.

Speaker 2 (02:13:36):
This is End Zone Radio Steve.

Speaker 1 (02:13:39):
Harbin VJ Husky here and Zone Radio. We're in the
Fox Sports Radio studios. The Steelers have defeated Cleveland Browns
by a score of twenty three to nine. So whether
it was Joe Flacco or Dylan Gabriel, the Browns still
have no offense. The numbers today for Dylan Gabriel twenty

(02:13:59):
nine of fifty two for only two hundred and twenty
one yards. That's barely four yards in attempt. He didn't
throw an interception, obviously, no touchdowns. He was sacked six
times in this game. No running game at all for
the Browns. So really we didn't see any change. I mean, basically,
Dylan Gabriel put up very similar numbers to Joe Flacco. Now, again,

(02:14:23):
this is on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who
obviously has a pretty good defense. Next week, the Cleveland
Browns will be taking on the Miami Dolphins at home,
a battle of one in five teams. So do you
give Gabriel an opportunity to play against a winnable game

(02:14:46):
against the Dolphins at home, or do you flip the
switch and see what you got with Shador Sanders. What
would the Cleveland Brown's best move be going into this
next game one in five versus one and five Miami.

Speaker 2 (02:15:00):
I would I would probably stay with Dylan Gabriel. And
I just just don't think. Listen, you're one in five, Okay,
you're making a change at this point for what go
with Gabriel? If you're gonna go with s your door.
Think it's another two, you know, another few weeks. As
I told you before, I already believe it's week ten.
That's that's where I put it. I think week ten
he's gonna eventually start a game because at that point

(02:15:21):
they'll be two nine, or they'll be one in eight
or you know, one and one and nine or something
in that area. I just think that it's not and
when when the team has a lost season, like it
feels like this team is going to end up having
at some point, you tell Dylan Gabriel, hey, or listen, man,
if it doesn't get hurt, they might just ride it
out and just let him take his bumps his rookie

(02:15:41):
year and Shador doesn't get the starter game. It's if
that's what the plan's gonna be, for Dylan Gabriel to
be your starter, and he is the guy, then why
would you start Shador if you were still in the
air though, if Dylan Gabriel is your guy, eventually shr
Dore starts.

Speaker 1 (02:15:57):
All right, we have a Lamar Jackson up day, bo,
what is the latest on the injured Baltimore Ravens quarterback?

Speaker 6 (02:16:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:16:05):
John Harbaugh told the reporters in their postgame presser after
they lost to the Rams today that both Lamar Jackson
and Rokwan Smith will be back after their week seven by.

Speaker 2 (02:16:14):
We'll be back, are expected to be back, he said,
We'll be back, will be okay.

Speaker 1 (02:16:19):
Yeah, we'll be back.

Speaker 2 (02:16:20):
All right.

Speaker 1 (02:16:20):
So at one in five, look, I'm not going to
I threw this out and I know you guys just
blew over me on this stat in a fourteen game schedule,
not seventeen games, not sixteen games in a fourteen game schedule.
A third year expansion team, the Cincinnati Bengals, were at

(02:16:40):
one and six and they won their last seven games
in a row to win their division and get into
the postseason. So it's not over yet for the raven
I mean, if you look at that division, the Browns
are the Browns. They're not going to be a threat
to anybody. The Bengal unless Joe I don't even know

(02:17:02):
the status with Joe Burrow, but without Joe Burrow, the
Bengals are not a contender. Joe Flacco's not going to
come in and save their season. Okay, so that lays
the Steelers. So you're one in five, they're four and one.
They're like, wow, we're miles behind. You can make up
ground if Lamar Jackson gets back into it. You know,
the only one takeaway I would have from positive takeaway

(02:17:25):
from the Ravens today was there the defense. I mean,
they only gave up seventeen points.

Speaker 2 (02:17:30):
And I was on back to back drives coming off
of two turnovers to start the third quarter then, but
then didn't do anything else the rest of the second half.
So two things real quick, VJ.

Speaker 5 (02:17:41):
You're right, it actually was expected to play, but I
think him making that announcement now means that they probably
will be back. And also Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson suffered
an orbital fracture and he spent the game in the
hospital because he had a incident with a band during
warmap warm ups, So he sounds like he snapped himself
in the face with a stretching band.

Speaker 2 (02:18:02):
There was another coach player that collided with the team
during warmups and was and and got knocked out of
the game with a concussion running One guy was on
one end of the field running a route, the other
guys on the other end practicing pregame stuff that we
see at the time. Just with the Harball comment. The
reason why I asked because you know me, I am
about verbiage and context and expect it is enough bowl

(02:18:26):
to keep it quiet, and with a bye week, it's ambiguous.
It's enough to keep it quiet for the next third. Yes,
it's enough to keep it quiet for the next ten days.

Speaker 1 (02:18:35):
John Harbaugh is gonna be getting a lot of heat
over the next couple of weeks, promise.

Speaker 2 (02:18:39):
So then why not, then why not say at least
get that off the table. Right, You're right, he's gonna
be getting heat. But you know the one thing I'm
gonna take off the table is Lamar Jackson and I'm
telling you guys right now, he's expected to be back
after the Biway.

Speaker 1 (02:18:49):
Here's another very interesting stat So Derrick Henry today twenty
four carries one hundred and twenty two yards five yards
carry all the good. What makes it even more impressive
his longest run was twelve yards. So basically he was
productive on just about every single carry that he had
during the game. So Derrick Henry back today, and so again,

(02:19:12):
you know, the Ravens are are what they are right
They're one and five right now. But I if Lamar
Jackson does come back, they can make up some ground
pretty easily, I think in that division. All right, two
games just underway, right the way Raiders did get on
the scoreboard first three and out the over the Titans.
A couple of good things for the Raiders. Ashton genty

(02:19:32):
is beginning to come around now, guys, taking a couple
of weeks. And we were talking earlier about Jonathan Vilma
saying that, you know, he's got to get used to
their offensive line because he is one of those guys
a lot of running backs are like you hit the hole,
you're looking for that one block that I'm using the
words of Johnathan Vilma where Genty is the guy that

(02:19:53):
uses blockers, so once he learns his blockers, So six
carries thirty one yards, that's five yards of pop to
start the game. And Gino's Smith's so far perfect. I
don't know how long that's gonna last. Four for four
thirty three yards for Gino Smith. I mean frustration got
Jesus dubbed today? Man, I know what Tennessee did last week,
but what did they do as opposed to what Arizona did?

Speaker 2 (02:20:16):
Well? Well, true? And then Arizona fights hard today. Yeah
they did, couldn't get a dub, but it makes you think, Wow,
without Kylin Murray, they still almost put up thirty. If
Kyle's in there, you got to think they're gonna put
up thirty plus maybe even forty and get that dub.
That's just kind of how things shake out when player,
when the starting quarterback is out. But listen, if you're
the Raiders, you need this one today. But I still

(02:20:37):
think there's grace. And I asked Bo because I don't
know how much power Tom has, But but could you
fire Pete Carroll in a year? Nor? Well? Look, are
you just kind of stuck with this? At least for
two years now. We talked also about no quarterback from
college is coming to save none of these bad teams.
You better figure out the guy you got, now, are

(02:20:58):
you better figure out what you may be able to
do with a guy that somebody else doesn't want because
alert now out for the year. We all know Manning's
not an NFL ready quarterback. Yeah, there's a few. Carson
Beck's probably gonna be your best guy. And then the kid,
the kid from Oregon. Right, that's two guys. I don't
know who's coming to save your franchise. Who's going to

(02:21:18):
be the next guy, So you better, Jam's better figure
it out fast.

Speaker 1 (02:21:21):
I go back again to Jonathan Vilma. He correctly pointed
out this Pete Carroll's first year at USC. They started
that year two and five, and they finished six and six.

Speaker 2 (02:21:33):
Six.

Speaker 1 (02:21:33):
A year later, Carson Palmer wins the Heisman and they're
on their way. And then when he that was in
two thousand and.

Speaker 5 (02:21:40):
One, that's a long time ago.

Speaker 1 (02:21:42):
That was a tooth exactly. And then of course same
thing with Seattle, right, a couple of subpar, sub five
hundred seasons in Seattle before we got things on track.
So as he was talking about that, I was thinking,
what you guys are thinking. Okay, yeah, that's when he
was in his fifties. Okay, he's now in his mid seventy.
So how long of a commitment are you making to

(02:22:04):
Pete Carroll.

Speaker 5 (02:22:06):
I don't think the Raiders have the reputation to fire
a coach right away, Like, who's really gonna go in
there to Davis used to do it all.

Speaker 2 (02:22:14):
The time, even a seventy something year old guy.

Speaker 5 (02:22:17):
Yeah, but I just that would be what their third
fourth head coach now as well.

Speaker 2 (02:22:22):
This is what they've been in the last fifteen to
twenty years, has just been an organ this is who
they've been them.

Speaker 5 (02:22:28):
I think they I think they had to the Jets.
I think they had to tell themselves, like when you
hire Pete Carroll, you're hiring Pete Carroll to like reset
your culture and that might take a little while. But
I just don't know if Pete Carroll has it well.

Speaker 2 (02:22:41):
And again Filmos said it earlier, you have to reset
the first year, you have to reset things.

Speaker 1 (02:22:45):
I understand what he has to say, but I mean
they're gonna have to figure out this offense. Chip Kelly,
Gino Smith are not the answer, No, there is. Okay,
so let's let's take them out. You know, Bowers has
been hurt, but I mean, you got a great tight end,
you got a great young running back. You got to
figure out the coordinator because Chip Kelly's not the answer. Nope,
and Geno Smith's not the answer. So you know, there's

(02:23:07):
no way to move forward until you figure that out.
All right, let's find out what is trending right now?
Uh so head spit, She's just no, no, no, Now, Mancy
is very much involved with the Dodgers organization that has
been for a number of years.

Speaker 2 (02:23:23):
Correct, and you.

Speaker 1 (02:23:24):
Have you have you have you set your schedule now
for the league Championship series?

Speaker 11 (02:23:28):
Yes, yes, yeah, no, no, no, I was, I may
have a little bit of power over my schedule. Well
you should have, so, yeah, I was. I was anticipating
the Brewers to win, so I planned it that way
for myself, and I was right.

Speaker 1 (02:23:42):
You know what's interesting, had the Cubs won the first
two games that would have been at Dodgers Stadium, we are
expecting a huge one day rainstorm on Tuesday. Yes, it
would have been, it would have been, it would have
been a rainout day. And then they would have played
Monday Wednesday.

Speaker 11 (02:23:56):
Right, And I still think there's like, you know, the
weather is so funny, like what if it pushes to Wednesday?
What if it doesn't happen Monday Tuesday and it pushes
to Wednesday.

Speaker 10 (02:24:05):
We'll see, but we're supposed to that we won't have to.

Speaker 11 (02:24:08):
I'm just saying, like, even if if it pushed, it
would have been both games affected, or you know whatever,
we'll see.

Speaker 1 (02:24:12):
Are you feeling good about the Dodgers against a team
that just ate them.

Speaker 2 (02:24:16):
Up all season one?

Speaker 11 (02:24:17):
They did, they they won all six games. You know,
I just don't think the Dodgers looked good against the Phillies.

Speaker 10 (02:24:26):
So I am hoping that.

Speaker 11 (02:24:28):
They come out looking like they have three MVPs on
their roster. There you go, you know what I'm saying,
there's three MVPs on that damn roster.

Speaker 10 (02:24:35):
I act like it. It didn't they didn't act like
it against the Phillies. That that those two runs.

Speaker 11 (02:24:39):
Scored in that final game, one was white with the
bases loaded, and one was a terrible, terrible just.

Speaker 1 (02:24:45):
Brak far do I laugh at the end of the
game when they're surrounding Annie Pas like he's a hero.
The guy's won for twenty one in the postseason. He
had a comeback, and by the way, he didn't even
run hard to play it.

Speaker 2 (02:24:57):
I know if the law, if you guys remember that
played the catcher the catcher, it just really quick. I
felt you talked about coaching earlier, Bo that that was
a managerial mistake, and I'll explained why that guy had
never in his career. I guarantee you've been in a situation.
Of course not right so then so then that's the raw.

(02:25:19):
As a manager. You've got to put somebody out there
that has You.

Speaker 1 (02:25:24):
Could tell you do this to little leaguers.

Speaker 2 (02:25:26):
You could tell you get the ball, where are you
going with the ball? And guess what, and in a
split second that decision needs to be made. There's a
guy he is looking at that is saying go to first.
If you see the replay from his backfield, to throw
that ball is fucking feet to the right. It's not
even close to the catcher.

Speaker 5 (02:25:44):
The other part of that that I don't think anybody
wants to mention because they pretend that doesn't exist. But
there were fifty six thousand Dodger fans right screaming.

Speaker 1 (02:25:52):
I wanted the catcher did what he was supposed to do.
He pointed the first yes, right there, listen.

Speaker 11 (02:26:03):
I don't I don't know how you can blame a
manager in that situation. Everybody was trying to pull out
all the whatever bullpen.

Speaker 10 (02:26:12):
Was left at this point. What Indian was this eleven
eleventh in so we're in the extra Indians.

Speaker 11 (02:26:19):
I don't know how you can blame a manager for that,
and I feel like the poor guy. They even give
it up for Oriyan Kirkering, who answered questions after the game.

Speaker 1 (02:26:29):
He dug out and but you have he Apparently this
kid is very loved by his teammates.

Speaker 11 (02:26:35):
They were absolutely still in his rookie contract and like
answered questions at the end and they asked him, did
you see real mutto pointing to.

Speaker 10 (02:26:42):
First base, and he's like, I did it. I just
I just saw him there, like he blacked out.

Speaker 11 (02:26:47):
He he dropped the ball and didn't know what to
do in that panic.

Speaker 4 (02:26:52):
If I may, if I may, for everyone, because I
know there's a lot of history to this, and I
know we like the history.

Speaker 2 (02:26:56):
And compared history.

Speaker 4 (02:26:58):
No no, no, no, no, I'm comparing this to an other
very famous playoff incident and I know there's not the
organizational angst behind it, and this is a rookie we're
talking about, But like, the first thing I thought about
when I saw this was Bill Buckner and like just
kind of the same kind of just gaffes that just
you just don't want to have happen in your life.

Speaker 1 (02:27:18):
Yeah, I mean, it'll stay with you, it'll stay with you, absolutely.

Speaker 11 (02:27:22):
Yes, But he he handled it like a champ, spoke
to the media after, and hopefully it won't be a
defining moment and it'll be something that he just looks
back on, hopefully.

Speaker 10 (02:27:31):
A Ryan Kirkring, we should have known his name, but
we do.

Speaker 1 (02:27:34):
Yeah, we know it now.

Speaker 10 (02:27:36):
We do know it now? All right, how about all update?
What's going on?

Speaker 11 (02:27:39):
Yes, sports happening, guys.

Speaker 10 (02:27:42):
Yeah, we've got some afternoon.

Speaker 11 (02:27:44):
Games going on, Ryan now or you know, yeah, later
window games if you're on the East coast. The Raiders
have a three zero lead over the Titans.

Speaker 10 (02:27:53):
It's still early in the second quarter.

Speaker 11 (02:27:55):
Bengals Packers scoreless in the first forty nine Ers Buccaneers
also scoreless in the first, but the Colts improved to
five and one, outscoring the Cardinals thirty one to twenty seven.
I don't know if you guys thought the star Anthony Richardson,
who was a backup quarterback for Daniel Jones, was ruled
out because of an eye injury. Well, apparently he has
an orbital eye fracture. He was working out with an

(02:28:18):
elastic band that I guess ripped, snapped, hit him in
the face.

Speaker 2 (02:28:23):
Nice.

Speaker 11 (02:28:23):
He had to go to the hospital. So he has
an orbital eye fracturer. Anthony Richardson latest with that. Chargers
hit a late thirty three yard field goal to defeat
the Dolphins twenty nine to twenty seven, but Devon Ahan
had sixteen carries, one hundred and twenty eight yards and
two touchdowns in the loss. The Seahawks defeated the Jaguars
twenty to twelve. Sam Donald threw for two hundred and
ninety five yards and two touchdowns, but Jackson Smith and

(02:28:45):
Jig But had eight catches one.

Speaker 10 (02:28:47):
Hundred and sixty two yards and one touchdown. No, I'm
not mad about it. I'm not playing against him. No,
it's fine.

Speaker 11 (02:28:51):
The Rams outscored the Ravens seventeen to three, and as
Bo already said, Ravens did say that they expect Lamar
Jackson en ro Quan Smith to return after their bye week. Also,
Sean McVay said that wide receiver Pukinakua has an ankle injury.
He played through it, but he is uncertain if he's
gonna be able to play next week against the Jaguars
in London. The Panthers with the upset of the day,

(02:29:12):
walking it off with a thirty three yard field goal
to defeat the Cowboys thirty to twenty seven. Rico Dowdle
thirty carries one hundred and eighty three yards plus four
catches for fifty six yards and a touchdown. Dwell became
the first player with over two hundred yards from scrimmage
in back to back games since Dalvin Cook did back

(02:29:33):
in twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (02:29:34):
Was he the first pick in your fantasy football draft?

Speaker 2 (02:29:37):
Liked? Everyone take out on number one twenty even sort out?

Speaker 10 (02:29:40):
Not even sort out.

Speaker 11 (02:29:41):
The Patriots top the Saints fifteen to nineteen. Drake May
with three touchdown passes in that one, and the Steelers
had a twenty three to nine win over the Browns.
DK Metcalf had four catches ninety five yards and a touchdown.
This is the most the most touchdowns he's had in
the season in his entire.

Speaker 10 (02:29:58):
Career with what he has had so far.

Speaker 1 (02:30:00):
Really, yes, all right, very good. I'm watching just a
comedy of errors and games right now. An see started
with Mac jones first pass, so the game for the
forty nine ers was picked off and Tampa goes right
in for the touchdowns. So that didn't take long. And
meanwhile we've got, yeah, Gino, you know the turnover machine

(02:30:23):
gets hit. I'm not fumbles and taken by the Titans
into the end zone. Now are they going to call
that an incomplete pass?

Speaker 2 (02:30:32):
What does that vie to me? That look like a fumble?
His hand is going it flicks for but that's after
the ball is already gone from the angles that I've
seen already so far. And it's just got to keep
your eye around. You got to be aware, Geno, you
got to be aware and ball security. I just were
we were seeing guys just fumble and drop footballs this year,

(02:30:53):
like I haven't I don't remember in recent memory, but
I'm with you, Steve, A lot of them, a lot
of gas man.

Speaker 1 (02:30:59):
All right where in the Fox Sports radio studios, don't

Speaker 2 (02:31:20):
Meanwhile, as I.

Speaker 1 (02:31:20):
Mentioned, mac Jones first pass and he threw it. There
were three Tampa Bay guys and there was no forty
nine er in the picture, so somebody want the wrong
direction or he threw it. And then of course the
Buccaneers don't need a lot of help, and so right

(02:31:41):
into the end zone they go, and just like that,
the Buccaneers lead seve to nothing.

Speaker 2 (02:31:46):
Well, you know, backup quarterbacks, man, they can look good
for I don't think a long time. I think they
look good for mediums.

Speaker 1 (02:31:53):
I'm gonna everybody was like it's time to you know,
bench Brock party and Matt Jones. Just like.

Speaker 2 (02:32:00):
Happens all the time, man, And that's why I'm so glad.
I strike so hard against that stuff. Oh the backup
looks great, you need it. We just talked about this
with Cooper Rush. Cooper Rush comes in for Dak a
few years ago. Looks good. How does Cooper Rush look
as the starter guys in three points for the Ravens today.

Speaker 1 (02:32:16):
By the way, they have reversed the call on the
Raiders game, so they now say it was an incomplete pass.

Speaker 2 (02:32:25):
Close. But I just thought the ball was gone. I
think they're given they give quarterbacks too much of the
lead way that you can just flick the risks and
oh it was a pass. No what in the pass?
Your arm didn't complete the motion because it got hit.
That's a fumble. But you know, competition Comman's gonna have
to take a look at that themselves.

Speaker 1 (02:32:42):
It doesn't change much and that means it's fourth and fourth,
so the Raiders will have to punt the ball away
so they don't take the touchdown off the board. It
was a fumble return forty four yards for a touchdown,
but take it off the board. Raiders still lead the
Titans three nothing. But especially for a veteran quarterback like
Gino Smith to suddenly have this prepent city to just
turn the ball over, I means just been crazy. You know,

(02:33:04):
you don't expect that from a guy like Geno Smith,
who really with his comeback in Seattle, was a guy
that threw the ball accurately, took care of the football,
you know what a veteran quarterback learns to do. He
seems to have been in pure panic mode ever since
he put on a Raider uniform.

Speaker 2 (02:33:20):
I was about to say, do you think there's anything
of that? That maybe Gino smelling himself a little too much.
And remember the Monday night interview, a lot of people
wrote me off. I didn't write back.

Speaker 1 (02:33:33):
You know what which I told? I told you my
first meeting with Gino Smith. So I'm at the super Bowl.
This was the Super Bowl between the Ravens and the
forty nine ers in New Orleans. We're getting ready for
the NFL Draft. So I'm at New Orleans and we
find out that Gino Smith out of West Virginia, he
is available for an interview. So I couldn't do it live.

(02:33:55):
I'd have to put it on tape. But yeah, I said, sure,
I'll meet with Gino Smith. So I sit down with
him and I said, so, have you gotten any feedback
on where you may be going in the draft?

Speaker 2 (02:34:10):
And he just stares at me and I'm looking at
him and he goes. I go, so you've talked to teams.

Speaker 1 (02:34:16):
He goes, are you like the only one not aware
that I'm the first overall picking the draft?

Speaker 2 (02:34:24):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:34:26):
He looks right at me and says.

Speaker 2 (02:34:27):
Like, that's right. Are you? Are you?

Speaker 1 (02:34:30):
Are you the only person that has not already know
that I'm the first overall picking the draft?

Speaker 2 (02:34:37):
How's wrong with you? You think you're in a Hall of.

Speaker 1 (02:34:41):
So? I said, so you so that you've been told
you the first pick? And he goes, look if you
I don't. He was giving me like I I can't
sit and talk with somebody that obviously has no clue
what's happening.

Speaker 2 (02:34:56):
So, by the way, if you go back on that draft.

Speaker 1 (02:34:58):
If you're wondering, the first quarterback taking in that draft
was midway through the first round. E. J.

Speaker 2 (02:35:02):
Manuel was the first quarterback. Yeah, Gina was not even
a first round pick.

Speaker 1 (02:35:06):
I had swear to you. You look me dead in
the eye, serious as could be, Like, wow, are you
literally the only person on the planet that does not
know I'm the first overall pick in the draft?

Speaker 2 (02:35:18):
Do you think you are?

Speaker 12 (02:35:19):
What?

Speaker 2 (02:35:19):
Do you think you like? A Hall of Fame radio?

Speaker 1 (02:35:22):
I said, GM, I'm sorry, I guess I missed the
note on that one. All right, coming up on the
other side, we'll take it into the three games got
going on right now. Buccaneers today, if they win, get
us Gino both. I would love to relave that moment
with him. This is end Zone Radio, Hartman and Husky

(02:35:42):
end Zone Radio. I want to thank our crew today. Moncy,
Big week coming up, Moncy, Big Week, Big Week.

Speaker 2 (02:35:51):
Yep, big week coming up.

Speaker 10 (02:35:53):
It's gonna be great. It's gonna be great. Otani is
gonna go better than one for whatever.

Speaker 1 (02:35:57):
He went For't see Chris Prefet the man running the board. Yes, beautiful,
Chris is always outstanding.

Speaker 2 (02:36:06):
Job. Bob Anson, our brilliant producer.

Speaker 4 (02:36:10):
Who think for going light on me today after like
still smarting from Friday.

Speaker 1 (02:36:15):
Yeah, I know, I understand that that was that was tough,
but I mean, you know, I had Tenanny games are
tough to lose.

Speaker 4 (02:36:20):
One of my formative memories working locally was having to
do a ten pm Eastern first pitch Tigers in Seattle.
In that game went sixteen and I got home at
like four in the morning, So this was kind of
reliving some nightmares.

Speaker 2 (02:36:32):
Well, we've we've all been there on that one.

Speaker 1 (02:36:34):
Bob Benson, by the way, you introduced he had a
new segment today. Can we get the intro to that
new segment that we debuted today on the show. Let's
let's hear this one if you missed it earlier.

Speaker 2 (02:36:47):
Foe was right. I don't think it's a segment as
much as just something to interrupt the show. Yeah, okay,
I mean well it could probably so in other words,
three years ago and I didn't get it.

Speaker 1 (02:36:58):
Come into handy throughout the year, okay, So in other words,
he could happen at any time. I mean really, yeah, okay,
you just suddenly hit the sounder and then once very
rarely wrong, interesting, very very good.

Speaker 2 (02:37:10):
Who do I need to call man? Because we need
one for every fock. Well, Ricky is the guy, right, yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:37:17):
Yeah we should. I'll have Ricky uh one for everybody.

Speaker 2 (02:37:20):
Yeah. It'll be fun though, I actually I like it.
It'll be fun. I askal one like two years ago
and I didn't get it. So you got more pulled
than me.

Speaker 1 (02:37:26):
By the way, Coming up on deck Dan Byer Kerry
Rhodes as they will take you through the afternoon, get
you ready for the Sunday evening game, which of course
is between the Lions and Chiefs quick up dates right
now the Raiders leading the Titans three nothing, no score. Packers,
Bengals and Buccaneers lead the forty nine Ers seven to three.
Mac Jones had one big pass play. Every other pass

(02:37:47):
seems to go sideways. By the way, if you're wondering
about Joe Flacco's debut, is the starting quarterback of the
Bengals when he had two days to learn the playbook.
He's one for one for four yards with their running
game right now total yards in this game, Green Bay
has one hundred and eighteen and the Bengals have one.

Speaker 5 (02:38:07):
Sorry, sorry to interrupt, but we do have injury news here.
Fortys linebacker Fred Warner got carted off. Just saw with
his leg and an air cast.

Speaker 2 (02:38:18):
Awful.

Speaker 1 (02:38:19):
Packers, by the way, just got a field goal. All right,
we have some two A tongue by Lois sound I understand?

Speaker 4 (02:38:23):
Yeah, So this was he was asked after the law
after the game here and something very illuminating from to us.

Speaker 1 (02:38:30):
So this is the Dolphins again lost to the Chargers,
blew a game late, so they're sitting at one and five.

Speaker 12 (02:38:35):
I think it starts with the leadership in helping articulate
that for the guys, and then what we're expecting out
of the guys, right, we're expecting this?

Speaker 2 (02:38:44):
Are we getting that? Are we not getting that?

Speaker 12 (02:38:46):
We have guys showing up to player only meetings late,
guys not showing up to player only meeting Like, there's
a lot that goes into that.

Speaker 2 (02:38:54):
Do we have to make this mandatory? Do we not
have to make this mandatory?

Speaker 12 (02:38:58):
So so it's it's a lot of it's a lot
of things of that nature that we got to get
cleaned up.

Speaker 2 (02:39:05):
And it starts with the little things like.

Speaker 1 (02:39:07):
That, Wow, that's pointing the finger at your coach, is
it not?

Speaker 2 (02:39:12):
I don't know if I take it pointing the finger
at the coach. But this is what I don't like
about lost the locker room. I'm doing air quotes here
because now in the day both mentioned a minute ago,
where a gentleman like you has been doing this forty years.
You kind of have a mindset of when guys weren't
making a crap ton of money, right and now guys
have I always hated the term player empowerment. I can't

(02:39:34):
stand that because that means you're letting the inmates run
the asylum and we can't come in here and do
what we want to do. As powerful as we all
may be in our own entity, or as popular or
our voice or whatever our abilities, no one in here
can come in here and do what they want to do.
We don't make a zorbiant amounts of money in this business,
at least not on the we're what we're doing right
now and here. What I hate about Lost the Locker

(02:39:56):
Room is eighty three or four guys now can say, well,
I'm not coming to this, so I'm not coming. Whatever
happened to self accountability? Because what real self accountability is.
No matter what's going on around you, you are still
supposed to be a professional and supposed to do what
the hell you're supposed to do. And they're not doing that.

(02:40:18):
I'm not putting. I hate that Lost the Locker Room.
How about you just be a grown ass man and
still do your job. I'll leave it there.

Speaker 1 (02:40:25):
I agree, this is a this is a job. You
are accountable for your own job. All right.

Speaker 2 (02:40:34):
That is it for us.

Speaker 1 (02:40:35):
But don't go anywhere, because we got much more. Blest
everybody and Barry Kerry Rose. This is Fox Sports Radio
