Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to sports radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh, let's go.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
Think, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Hey, you were right. The Bills are falling apart.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
If they lose a game to the Dolphins, then you
know something's gotta be wrong there.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
You try to write this off and we didn't write back.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, let's go. We tried to write you all.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
You must feel pretty dumb right now, don't you. Yeah, ridiculous.
Oh that's stop it. I picked him with the division.
Send the email to our boss. I'll be taking the
playoffs off so I can watch my dolphins.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Scott.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Can we actually hold him to one of these every
now and then let him just throw an s off
the wall to see if it sticks.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Please? The next four games, the Dolphins will be favored
in three of the four games. This is this is
looking like the miracle I want. I tried to tell
you last week, right that it's a turnaround, and you
and you just you know, you shut me down and you, yeah,
you made me look like a moron. And now you
don't look too smart. Now do you know you're not
looking like a genius?
Speaker 3 (01:05):
I know what's up with that? I mean because We
were the ones that were sitting here talking about how
great they were after they got beat by the Ravens
twenty eight to six, another team that was done.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
A bad game, bad game, right, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
And now at three and seven, you're here to tell
me that they are back.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
If if we played like this all year long, we'd
be ten and zer right now.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Also after saying that the AFC playoffs were over last
week and that the field was pretty much set, now
it's a complete one eighty right? Do I have all
this correct?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
That's correct?
Speaker 1 (01:34):
No is someone asking you who's talking to you for cryingout?
You know what so funny is before the show, nobody
was talking to me. I didn't hear from Plank, I
didn't hear from producer pat Rack. We just didn't hear
from Mary. Before the show, I heard nothing from you.
It was like dark like nobody like I had the leprosy,
the contagious kind too, not the non contagious kind, and
(01:55):
nobody would get a hold of me. I just don't
understand that, you know, I.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Mean, why as you would say here and patch yourself
on the back for something that you didn't do. I mean,
who would want to respond? But we literally just talked
right before you went on the air. I don't know
why you lie to the people.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I did pick the Dolphins to win over the Bills
first time in three years. I'm telling you.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
I was so ecstatic. I was you just picked them
to cover the spread. You didn't take the money line.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Yeah, I thought they would win. I said, this is
the game, this is the type of game they're going
to win. And the line went down, went from like
nine and a half down to seven and a half.
Before the start of the game, people were jumping on
the Dolphins. They look so good. Oh my goodness, holding
the Bills to no points through three quarters. That's that's
just unbelieve. That's our defense. Where's my that's my Dolphins.
(02:38):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, congrats, welcome back. I mean you're no longer in
last place. But the Jets look pretty good today too.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Were favored over Washington. Then we played the hapless saying,
so we'll win those game, Okay, stop it. Then we
played the Jets, and then and then we have a
tough game against Pittsburgh, but they're no big deal. So
when the next four games, get the seven and seven
and then we'll do the math at that point, then
I'm really gonna jump down your throat and the list
(03:07):
just to prove you're wrong.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
The funny thing is you need to have this conversation
with what Michael Jackson should call it.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
You need to start talking to the man in the mirror.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Instead Michael Jackson thing.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Okay, I mean that's that's this is. This is like therapy.
I guess do you go to therapy? I think you
need it. I mean the mood swings and how you
allow it. I'll tell you what one win to turn
everything for it.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Can we play the show the day before the start
of the season, and let's see what I said about
the Dolphins. We'll see if I'm consistent.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Uh okay, then let's play the what you said the
next week, and then what you said the file You're not.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
If there is anything you're not, it's consistent.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I think I've been pretty consistent about the Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
No, listen, I'll let you get away with whatever you want,
thinking your picts are good man of the people, all
this stuff, not knowing who Patrick is. But you're not
gonna get away with saying that you're somehow consistent in
your t on the Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Not don't be don't blame you want.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
To fire the chemistry professor you want to.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I just wanted you to know I kind of liked
his speech after the game today. I think he was
about to cry. He was so excited, he was so happy.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
He's not the only one that's about to cry. No,
I'm just I just I don't like listening to you
right now. I'm like, you know, I.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Can I can keep him around a little bit like
Andy Murphy. I think I can hang out with you
guys a little bit longer. And you know what, maybe
I was a little a little harsh on Tool last week.
Maybe you know before that, did I say that I
wanted to trade him for for Murray? Did I say that?
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, yes you did.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Can you can you take that out of the podcast?
Speaker 3 (04:36):
You liked him too of the last three weeks, and
then for three straight weeks you hated him even and
you went over the Jets you hated him.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
No, that's my quarterback, dude, Like Terrell Owens said, that's
my quarterbacks, my quarterback.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I mean I just have to be like, yeah, okay,
great job, man. Let's talk about the NFL in the
day and just pretend like you didn't destroy everyone in
this franchise the week I would.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Be I'd be sitting here crying right now. Had they
he traded jaylun Waddle for a first and the third
to the Buffalo Bills, I'd say, oh no, oh oh no,
I'd be just shook it up.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
I couldn't let him go. No, that was they weren't
going to train to the Bills. Development This game is
pretty much over. The Steeler is going to lose on
the road to the Chargers. Eight thirty nine to go.
Another interception for Aaron Rodgers, this one thoughe not his fault.
Twenty two to three. The Chargers have the lead, and
they just got an interception that went right off Who
was that receiver? It wasn't Metcalf, wasn't Austin? Okay, happen, Yeah,
(05:32):
but it was Austin, I mean, and it was a
it was He was wide open. He would have at
least got a first down. It dong right off his hands.
H And the Chargers are looking good right now. He said, Okay,
if we move to sending that football here for just
a second, or do you want to see that up
grade the door?
Speaker 1 (05:46):
That's fine. Well, it was only the biggest win of
the entire weekend. I mean, it was the most impressive
win also, and it saved Miami's playoff hopes. I mean
what else? Sure? I mean, yeah, go ahead, let's go ahead.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Or do you want to sit here and talk about
dolphins for the next hours?
Speaker 1 (06:01):
No? No, I just I mean, you'd be surprised. I
kind of got a lot of tweets about them.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Yeah. No, I don't know why I would be surprised.
You use a national radio show every single week, our
national radio show to basically sound like a lunatic.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
No, ud like a hater every single week. No, you
sound like a hater. Now all of a sudden, you're like,
wowcause I am.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
I have to work with you every week.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
You're sure? Looking at that, I go, that was the
best defense I think I ever saw in my life.
That was That was That was like the Bears of
eighty six. I saw it there today. They were there.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Did you not see the Seahawks defense earlier today?
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
No, it was the greatest.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
The messenger you were playing nobody please, we're playing the
Buffalo Bills. Do you you know there's a difference, geez.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Twenty two to three?
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Right now? On Sunday Night Football. Justin Herbert has been
on point, and the Chargers defense has been really, really good.
And everything they've done so far tonight two picks by
Aaron Rodgers a quarterback rating of nineteen point five.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
He's also been sacked three times.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Horrible.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
They can't get the running game going at all. It's
just been a rough night.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Meanwhile, Lad mcconckie had the big fifty eight yard catch
and I mentioned, you know, he looked pretty good.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
I mean, the.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Chargers we didn't know with Joe Alt going down what
that might look like for them, especially against a team mild.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
That was no big deal, but you didn't believe me.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Right, I still think it's a pretty big deal.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
But I heard two hundred and thirteen yards and he's well,
he's been sacked four times. He's been sacked more than
Aaron Rodgerson has hurt his zyko.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
You know, I was I was thinking there that could
be a possible, uh some type of you know, a
hairline fracture or something. The way he was limping getting up,
I was a little worried about that.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Well, I'm glad that it wasn't any big deal. Then
that his left tackle wasn't in there. But the bottom line,
more than anything else is this has been a Charger rop.
So notice Seger tonight, he's working the game in the
night off. Yeah, Brie, Yeah, yes you did, Bree. Miro
is briing a Miro and breeds a big Saints fans.
You better not be talking all that trash.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
I was going a fire. Yeah, I was gonna get
her fired for being a Saints fan. We can't. I mean,
it's one thing to have a Raider fan on the
show like yourself. How many losers are we gonna have?
Fans of losing teams? I mean it's getting a little ridiculous.
Vegas Saints. Look, I'm a Dolphin fan and gosh, I
(08:15):
mean we have like the three words teams at one
point that goodness, Miami is turning it around. You notice
notice all my teams are turning it around. Miami. The
Knicks are off to a pretty good start. My Wildcats,
what they did in basketball, they want they.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Want to Florida. You should feel good.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
And I'm going to the Yukon game. I just sported
for tickets. I'm ready to roll.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
What it cost you? What did set you back?
Speaker 4 (08:40):
No?
Speaker 1 (08:40):
A million? Dollars. How much the lower bowl was like
eight hundred dollars. But I decide I'm not going to
sit in the lower section. I'm like, I'm going with
a bunch of people. So it was like one hundred
and fifty. No big deal.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
That's I still think that's pricey for college basketball, man,
especially the time of the.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Year it sold out, though you know it sold out.
It's gonna be a it's gonna be a dec in game,
will be a good game for a half until we
kick the crap out of him. So is that at
MSG or not? No? No, that's on campus.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Oh, it's gonna be at Yukon.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah, it's gonna be at Yukon.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
You guys got it, and.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
They got and they got benches his seat, So my
butt's gonna hurt sitting there. It is gonna be horrible.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Well, I'm very happy that your dolphins won today.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Thank you, I mean thank you?
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Have you ever?
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Is that new? Is this some new sounder that you're
trying to like.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
I've tried to do a dolphins sound effect. Does that
sound like a dolphin?
Speaker 2 (09:31):
No, it sounds absolutely nothing like it like a dolphins.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Really like.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Min Me from Austin powers.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Can I uh, can I hit the the tag the
tweets real quick, just to get real quick. James wants
to know. Ask Arnie if Mike McDaniels gets to keep
his job today after you fired him every week in
the last six.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Yeah, he you know, let me tell you think I'm
kidding around up, got one hundred percent honest. Today's win
secured him for the rest of the ye, and then
they'll bring him back for next year because the team
is playing hard and that's what you could ask for.
They look they look really good. So if they keep
this up the rest of the year, he saved his
job for the rest of the year. Probably he'll be
back next year because of what happened today.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
The Steelers just muffed the punt.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
They were gonna get the football back down nineteen with
six twenty five to go. But and I don't think
they're coming back to when this game obviously. I'm just
saying they would get the football back. They would need
three scores. Dude, muffed up. I mean not even close.
On the punt return. He called for the fair catch.
He's standing at the eleven. He drifts the twelve thirteen
to fourteen feet. Oh my gosh, Chargers football. This is
(10:39):
gross if you're a Steelers fan right now. But so,
anyway to answer James question, you're back in now and
he has saved his job.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Yeah, yeah, he's he's saved his job and he's probably
gonna be back next year too. The way I figure things, Uh.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Okay, Chad writs are this is gunny. He writes, Arnie,
you are constantly and consistently trashing the Dolphins every single
Sunday night.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
That's not true. Come on, not every single Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Yeah. And by the way, Russov is the goat. I
don't want to go down this road yet. But he
did point out that you never gave any more details
about your alleged TV show script and everything that was
supposed to happen with that.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Oh, that's still going on. I just spoke to the writer,
the creator just like about three four weeks ago about that.
Still still working on it. Another person from Fox Sports
Radio is involved with that too.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Very cool, LJ.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Just listen Arnie's ran about the Dolphins Super Bowl win.
I honestly thought it was drugs or alcohol field, as
I tweeted before the season, to you guys, watch out
for New England. I said the Dolphins were fighting for
third or fourth place, which indeed they are still fighting
for third or fourth place. But you are. I mean,
that's the truth of it. You can sit here and
act like this all you want tonight and be high
off a win, but you're still battling for third and
(11:55):
fourth place right now.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
We're a third place team, and you're right the Patriots
in Buffalo. I think it's be too tough to catch up.
We'd have to be this same. I kind of looked
at it, and we'll probably get in as a seventh
seed and have to play the Patriots in the first round.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Okay, and then one more.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Scott Wright just got so tired of hearing about the
Dolphins that I want to go home and watch Ace
von Turan see what it feels like to cheer for
the kidnappers for once. Eh, the Dolphins. You do wear
people out on this.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
But congratulations you because you in twelve years, I don't
remember one good time that you've had with the Raiders.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
No.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
I mean, twenty sixteen was quite a ride, but that
was about it.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
When twenty what I had hairy twenty sixteen.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Well, the Dolphins still haven't won a playoff game since then,
and yet you're wow that they're going to go to this.
I know that after that hurts.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
You've put the jinx on me for that that that's
killed me? How have I put the jinks on you?
We'll work with you. It's killed by dolphins, that's what you.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Your dolphins were bad before he worked with me.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Oh so, I guess you forget about something called seven
eventeen and oh, I guess you don't remember that.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Huh right, well that's in the seventies, my friend, seventy
two seven. We're going back now fifty three years. I mean,
were you you were what twelve? Whenever they won the
sing So I.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Went around during World War One? But I know about it.
Come on, now, let's go.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
But you're not sitting here championing at some sort of
thing that this makes my tell I guess maybe you do.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
This makes my country great.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
But congratulations. Now, I will do my best to not
make this a Dolphins all day, all night show, but
you kind of know how it goes. I have no
control over this thing. Coming up an hour number two,
Todd Furman will join us. We'll recap to date that
was we have what we learned after this week in
the NFL. Yes, and my little college that will dive
into some crazy finishes.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
What about that catch in the Indiana game?
Speaker 1 (13:43):
And that was game? I can tell you all bs
a side. You could do three hours on who's going
to be the new head coach at what school? I mean,
could you not? You must be doing that locally. It's
it's getting insane. What is it like ten openings or twelve?
I don't time the season stud there's probably gonna be
like a dozen openings or something like good openings too.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah, I mean I think Florida State is still gonna
come open. Lane Kiffin apparently is gonna have like five
different jobs. I don't know how he's gonna coach LSU
and Ole Miss.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
I thought he's just signed an extension to stay where
he's at. Is am I wrong about that?
Speaker 5 (14:17):
Or what?
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Lane Kiffin? Yeah, No, he's okay, No, He's he's gonna
play this out, man.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Come on, That's what I thought he was doing.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
I thought he's gonna be able to name his price.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Guys like Matt Ruhle and Rhett Lashley have signed extensions,
but in the end they want to go to Penn
State or if RTT wants to go to Auburn or
or wherever they're gonna end up going to those I.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Had thought, I'm serious, I had thought that Lane had
signed some extension because they were after him. So you
know who's good. Definitely gonna leave his jet Fish that
guy's that guy's out the door now.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
He might not have a choice after the way things
went this weekend. All right, when we come back to
the Fox Sports Radio studios, let's try to recap other games.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
This is an interesting note from Colin here tweeting the
show tonight. Yeah, he said that the mid season dumpster
fire Archie the rankings. He has the Bills at number
six for losing to the Dolphins. I probably would have
it the same way. The Browns at five. Gosh, what
a kind of thought. Maybe early they found something with
(16:14):
Dylan Gabriel. You're like, okay, I had a couple of
good games and then oh my goodness. They just they
can't protect, they can't pass, they can't run. I mean,
and they lost a game by a touchdown. But you
lose the game to the Jets, and you're like, what's
wrong with us? They fall to two and seven today
twenty seven to twenty the.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Final score, but the Jets had a kickoff turn for
a touchout and a pover turn for a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Yeah, I know, the special teams man number four the Giants.
What a heartbreaker for the Giants today. I mean it
looked like they had complete The Bears have done that
twice now this year. Maybe I'm trying to look back,
maybe a third time. They were beat, they were done,
it was over. And then they scored fourteen fourth quarter
points and Caleb Williams looked like that dude after not
looking like that dude for three and a half quarters.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
That's a turning around your season to the playoffs and
make it saying, hey, that's my signature win. Watch what
we do from here on out. That was a big
win for the Bears.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
Didn't we just say that last week when they did
that against the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Yeah, we're saying it again this week.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Okay, Well they've that's four games now that they had
no business winning that. The Bears won the Giants game today,
the Bengals game last week, the Raiders game in Week four,
and the Commander's game in Week five. That's no business
winning any of those four games. And it shows you
you find a way to win close games. That's the
difference between I mean, Captain obvious here right now. Two
(17:30):
and seven and being six and three, and that's that's
where they are. But that unfortunately, in Collins rankings, that
moves the Giants up a little bit. He has the
Raiders at three. I mean, if you watch the Thursday
night game, then the Raider should be one. The Raiders
should be three, but the Broncos should be four. Holy
Smokes has the Saints at two, and even even in
a bye week, the Titans catching strays at number one.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
How do you lose?
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Are you buying a dumpster fire rankings?
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Yeah? How you lost to the Saints. If you're the
Carolina Panthers, especially when you're in the midst of a
pretty decent season, and then you'll lose it home to
the Saints. That's that was horrible. That's like the worst
loss of all the week. That's horrible.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
So the most recent updated draft order, according to Tankathon,
has Tennessee sitting at number one, followed by the Saints
at two, the Giants at three, the Browns at four,
the Jets at five, the Raiders at six, and the
Dolphins at seven. That's your top seven. No, you have
a big battle next week with the commander, so that's
(18:28):
fighting for the eighth and seventh pick overall in the draft.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Right, Well, that's going to be a win. The Dolphins
will win that game.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
That's I mean, listen, I love your your excitement, but
you've said this about ever mine coming.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
In Washington has no quarterback, so that's going to be
a win. Will put in the four and seven?
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Been at five hundred, you would have argued that the
Dolphins didn't have a quarterback after last week's show. God,
we did have a touchdown in the Sunday night football game.
The Steelers get on the board, it's twenty five to ten,
but the Chargers are in complete control. Two minute warning.
Maybe we'll hear from the sager on his way home
from the game, but this has been complete and utter
domination tonight by the Los Angeles Chargers of San Diego.
(19:06):
Because I cannot stop saying San Diego for some reason. Yeah,
La late night drug tester asks, with no dominant NFL
team this year, well, we have a playoff spot determined
by a coin toss. Okay, that gets us into today's
Week ten matchups here just a bit. The most impressive
team that was out of nowhere, the Indianapolis Colts, right,
(19:28):
had a tough loss last week to the Steelers. What
they end up with like six turnovers in that game.
They had to fight, scratching claw for their lives. Now,
granted you go overseas, you play in Berlin, it kind
of changes the game a little bit. But there's a
team that I thought they're in control, they're gonna bounce back,
and they needed everything in a couple of breaks to
beat the Colts today they did.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
And not only is the Colts, how crazy? Is this
the the best team in football and someone said they
were the worst team in football? How does something like
that happens? Colts and Seattle? Who would have thought they
both would be number one seeds right now? And I
still wouldn't take either one of them to go ahead
and go to the super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
Meanwhile, you think about the Bills, thought they asserted their
domination last week six and two, they beat the Chiefs
again in the regular season and their flass, they get
smoked by a really bad Dolphins team and they fall
to six and three on the season. Teams in that
maybe you looked at hold on one more, you would
guarantee the Jaguars were going to the playoffs last week.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
I don't know if you remember that, Yes, I did.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
I remember that the Texans go out and beat them
today and no business beating, and.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
That's a team that Dolphins will probably catch. You Remember
you said the Jaguars were no good, so I could
see the Dolphins catching them.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Listen, I appreciate this, but we're not going to do
this tonight, aren't. We're not going to sit here and
talk about a three and seven football team catching someone
in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Okay, just can we stop?
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Can we make still still a little too early for
the playoffs?
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Just just just for my own personal sanity, just please?
Speaker 3 (20:55):
But then you had teams, so those were the disappointments, right, Jaguars, Bills,
and maybe unfair to say the Cults were disappointment because
they still won the game. But then you had some
teams and I thought made statements kind of like a
statement Sunday, And it starts with the Patriots. You go
on the road and.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
You beat a very good Bucks team like they did.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Again, Bucks are dinged up, They've had some injuries they've
dealt with. But Traveon Henderson has become a great fine
for the Patriots. He had one hundred and forty seven
yards rushing. Yeah, the Seahawks. I mean, just jump out.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Can I just want to say Vrayble Coach of the Year,
There's no doubt about that. And the most underrated player
in all the football of any sport is that have
to be Drake Bay. I'm just kind of curious about that.
And then I hear people say underrated. I feel like
everyone's cramming him down our throat right now. I mean,
I still think he's on the rate. To people say
maybe he should be MVP of the league, I'm like, Okay,
(21:46):
let's pump the brakes there. That's getting a little crazy.
But I mean, what this guy's putting up and what
he's done. And then if you said who would you
wanted your quarterback? I bet you people would take They
take like five or six of the quarter Yeah, but
I mean, wouldn't you well take five or six other
(22:06):
quarterbacks out of Drake May?
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:09):
If I did, it would be a mistake. Would I
Look what he's doing from crying out loud, He's he's
been phenomenal.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Are you okay? Would you take Jalen Hurts over Drake May?
He just won a Super Bowl? No?
Speaker 1 (22:20):
I would not, Okay, would you I would take Jalen
I'm sorry, would take Jalen Hurts if that's what Drew?
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Yeah, that's that's why I said. Would you take Jalen Hurts?
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (22:27):
So you take Jalen Hurts over Drake May. Would you take.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Patrick Mahomes over Drake May? Yes, that's two, okay. Would
you take Justin Herbert over Drake May? Not sure? Okay?
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Would you take Josh Allen?
Speaker 1 (22:44):
I got to count all those Super Bowls by Justin Herbert?
Give me well, I got to count them all.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
By Drake May too.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
Wow. Oh he's just started stopping.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I mean, if that's gonna be your counter, you can't go.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
We got okay, then we'll continue this because you're blown
away that the wouldn't be five guys.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
You've just railed off four with no problem whatsoever, like this.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
Guy's supposed to be like running.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Would you take Would you take Lamar Jackson over Drake May?
Speaker 1 (23:07):
I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
What anyway, He's just trying to make sure he's proven
his point.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Bib I know you know what that you checked the
Ravens record. Why don't you put a poll up right now? Say?
Would you have Lamar Jackson the way he looks now
and all the games that he's missed or Drake May
and see what people got this.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Okay, I'll do that. Uh they won, by the way,
did the Ravens today? Twenty seven to nineteen? They're now
four and five on the season, and they're not done.
They are probably.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
They're not done, right, Yeah, they're not done. They're not.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
You've tried to have them done all season long, and
they probably deserved it. But they've now won three games
in a row. And you want to talk about a
soft schedule coming up, They've got the Browns, the Jets,
and the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Yeah, they got it easy coming up all three.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
So they're done.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
But there's a very good chance they're going to be
seven and five going into a matchup against Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Ouch.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Ouch.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
I mean, I hate try to be somewhat common sensical.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Yeah, I hate when you're coming. I hate that.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
I want to just be able to say things like
you do. But I feel like there needs to be
checks and balance in here. Hate so much so anyway,
I guess to the point that there's not really a
dominant team. We could have that debate, but there's a
few teams that you feel like are on the cuss
like the Rams look really good. The Seahawks and they
played each other next week, look really good. The Lions,
(24:24):
they made that late window disgusting. You had a forty
four to twenty two game, the Lions meeting the Commanders
forty two to twenty six, with the Rams beating the Niners,
and the Seahawks destroy the Cardinals forty four to twenty two.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
So I don't know, would you buy that from what?
Speaker 3 (24:37):
Who was that that tweeted that? In and make sure
I give them proper credit late night drug Testerson in
or now?
Speaker 1 (24:42):
I would say, you know, when I was looking at
these standings, I would say the first three teams in
the AFC, I wouldn't be picking to go to the
super Bowl at all. I'm like, eh, not so sure.
My pick was Buffalo. I'm not gonna stay by that
Right now, I don't know who the hell I would take.
I can't think Pittsburgh made the Chargers maybe, but with
that outfense, I mean, I like their defense and so
(25:04):
wide open the AMC NFC, I guess I still got
to probably stay with Philadelphia or Green Bay. But that
doesn't mean like the Rams or tamp or the lines. Gosh,
what a juggernaut the NFC is. There's gonna be a
great playoffs this year. Man, this is gonna be awesome.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
I do think we're a week removed from being told
that it was gonna be terrible playoffs. You are really
riding the roller coaster.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Wow, did its gonna be terrible? Yeah? I did. Patrick
disagrees with everything you said. He likes the best. He
really is just like I think you say a.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Bunch of things, you don't remember them, and he likes
the best.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
All right is in tonight brand has got an update
on everything going on in the world.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Sho always got fired for being a Saints fan, almost
got fired.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Ahead.
Speaker 6 (25:56):
Can you imagine if I was like, you know what, guys,
I think the Saints are gonna in the NFC South.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
They're going to win five in a row. The will
be favored in their next five.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
You're comparing they have the same record.
Speaker 6 (26:09):
I was gonna say, oh, they don't. I was going
to say, what's the what's the difference?
Speaker 3 (26:13):
What is your record right now?
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Three and seven?
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Okay, we'll say, oh yeah, big time difference there.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Thank you.
Speaker 6 (26:21):
Thanks anyways, guys, Yes, the charters improved to seven and three.
They take down the Steelers twenty five to ten. Aaron
Rodgers one hundred and sixty one passing yards, He went
sixteen to thirty one, one touchdown, and two picks not
like THEO not like picks like JJ McCarthy's picks, those
picks earlier today, those like really long passes through the air,
(26:42):
and then just the My god, I totally forgot who
they played because I'm not looking at my notes because
I was just.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
So excited about the Vikings.
Speaker 6 (26:49):
Yeah, Like, and I was so excited because like the Ravens,
the Ravens defense. Yeah, and he just threw it through
the and plank. You and I talked about how much
I love the Vikings, and you're like on the Steelers side,
and JJ is just like letting me down.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
He is. But listen, Aaron Rodgers isn't doing anything to
build that trap.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
By part of this argument either. So there is.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
That it's true Ravens defeat the Vikings twenty seven to nineteen.
Something kind of interesting. John Harbaugh won his first game
in three visits to Minnesota and has checked the final
box on his eighteen year record with at least one
win in every current city in the NFL. Wow, nice
little tidbit right there. He's traveled and won everywhere. The
Jets outscore the Browns twenty seven to twenty. The Patriots
(27:31):
beat the Bucks twenty eight to twenty three. New England
improves to eight and two on the year. The Saints
did upset the Panther seventeen to seven, Tyler Scheck with
his first career win, and Arnie's Dolphins dominated the Bills
thirty to three.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Oh god, I don't know what that that's by Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
I beg for you to stop.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 6 (27:53):
Yeah, I'll venmo you, yeah, please, thirty to thirteen. And
then in the NBA, SGA scored thirty five point and
a thunder one fourteen win over the Grizzlies. They are
the first team this season to ten wins. All right,
so back to you guys.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Hey, thanks a lot, Brie. Of course, this I felt
pretty bad.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Of all the people that actually felt bad for today,
I felt bad for a guy Paul and mostly Bills fans,
because how do you go from a week of almost
like a euphoric nature. You beat the Chiefs again, you
kind of re establish yourself and then you go out
and you lay an egg like that.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Paul hit us up with this a lot of tweets.
I'm hitting here early in the show.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Because does that make you want to throw the Bills
out of the running to go to the super Bowl
because of what happened today? Or do you just take
it a week on that game?
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Week to weekly?
Speaker 1 (28:40):
It is a week two.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Paul writes, this is by far the most embarrassing loss
of the McDermott era. I know I'm a broken record
week in and week out, but McDermott and g and
Brandon Bean have put together a four win.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Roster around Josh Allen.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
They need to be fired before Alan forces his way out.
This might be the first game in three years where
Napoleon Dynamite Mike mccaniel out coached someone. Of course, that's
someone with Sean McDermott, so no one should be surprised.
Haven't the Bills always kind of struggled in Miami when
they go on the road. Wasn't there's some they'd won,
like what five or six in a row? But before then,
(29:16):
wasn't there a long run of struggles when they would
play in Miami?
Speaker 1 (29:19):
I think it was a long time ago. Like you said,
they haven't beat Dolphins, haven't beat them in three years,
so that'd be three times in Miami, three times in Buffalo.
You know, I think they're overreacting if the Bills fans,
I think, you know, losing in the playoffs the Kansas
City over the last years has really taken its toll
on them. It's just one bad loss to the Dolphins.
(29:42):
You gotta worry about New England right now, and they'll
bounce back. Like you always say, Chris, it is a
week to week league, and that's exactly what happened in
this game. But Dolphins, look at the difference between the
Ravens game and this game is like night and day.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
They the Bills are only two and two now in
their last four trips to Miami, So there is that.
I mean, they have you, guys, because you played there
in the twenty I know the Bills beat you thirty
one to ten last year, in twenty one to fourteen.
Then you played in the wild card, right but in
twenty twenty two, and because you had a playoff loss,
(30:15):
that was in there. So the Bills had lost eight
I had won eight straight against the Dolphins, but the
last time the Dolphins won was at home in twenty
twenty two, and now they went at home in twenty
twenty five, so you're actually and prior to that, if
you want to go back even further, the Dolphins from
twenty ten to twenty nineteen actually had let's see three
(30:36):
for five and five and five, five and six, five
and five record, So I mean, you have had some
success against the Dolphins at home and at the Bills
at home, I should say. And by the way, this
is also one of those stats that you just threw
out recklessly where I think at the beginning of the seageon.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
Like, oh, we'll beat the Bills. We'll always beat the
Bills at home.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
And then I'm like, I don't know if I'll check
them on that, but I did, and you had no idea,
but they'd actually played pretty well. They've actually played pretty
well whenever they host the Buffalo Bills outside of last season.
I mean, you even go back to twenty twenty three,
that was a that was a touchdown game. That was
a twenty one to fourteen game. So you won, you
won about it right now. I was a static.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
I was a little worried there at the end that
they were going to catch us, especially when things got
rocky in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Some big runs.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Eight Chan just looks unbelievable, does he not what a
running back he is. He had a phenomenal game, and
we did it in the run game. You know, Tua
didn't have a great game. Pass again, listen to it.
The yards and the the two interceptions, but before like
three plays in, we had called the time out, before
the game even started, we had an interception, and we
(31:41):
had a penalty. That was like the first three things
that happened to us. Yeah, that's crazy. How many times
you probably wanted to cheat?
Speaker 3 (31:49):
All right, it's not cheat and on in the Dolphins
and and and break up with him in this game.
But you got what you need in the end.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
I did go back to pitch it to him.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
There he goes, there he.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Go, He's caught twenty Tam five tucks down Miami. Hey Tam,
have ay day. Oh my goshful little fund that the
hard way next week when we do that.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
The Washington, well, Washington hasn't looked all that great. No,
they're not good. Yeah, but I understanding. Even though they
had their one good game. They did it against the
Raiders Hey, real quick before we grab a break, you
were talking about Drake May. Yeah, what what did you
make the Patriots today? They went twenty eight to three. Again,
it's not one of those we have some people in
life you're kind of guilty of this, that are always
(32:34):
infatuated by the box score. It wasn't the most phenomenal
box score game for Drake May, but it wasn't terrible
through for two seventy two touchdowns in a QB rating
was not where it needs to be. But this development
of the running game in New England and more specifically
Trevion Henderson being the dude, that's got to be problematic
for everyone in the Patriots path going forward.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Uh yeah, First of all, you're right about that. I
mean what he did was absolutely phenomenon. He was running
it just down their throats. I got to tell you,
I know that Tampa has a lot of injuries, but
so there's a lot of teams out there. So I
got to give you New England credit. They got in there.
Always winning on the road is gonna be tough, especially
when you have to go do it in Tampa. Great
win for them, and now they're really gonna go ahead
(33:16):
and fight out Buffalo for that division. I thought they
had no chance actually winning that division. Now you know,
you got seven games left and I don't know what
their schedule is the rest of the way, but they
look like they're in charge. A Vrabel's turned around that
whole team. She should definitely be coaching the other's no
doubt about that.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
He's been impressive. Man, he's been impressive. All right, when
we come back, let's start checking off some Roman numerals.
It's already in plank On Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
Now?
Speaker 3 (34:18):
You're comfortable, You're good you said. I thought you said
last week you guys were looking to move again.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Is this Yeah, we're moving again in a couple of months.
We bought a condo. So we're gonna go ahead and
move to the condo and in like March or February
or something like that.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
Isn't like a.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
Retirement home or no.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
No, I just another yeah, no, just gonna keep you out. No,
it's not like the bulk of Visda. We're gonna be
there probably for like five years and probably move again.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
So okay, Well, just moving is always fun, So I'm
sure I still I.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Still want to make the trek to to Oklahoma, Goolsby, Oklahoma.
But you know, we'll see why.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
I don't think she'll want to come here. There's nothing here.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
Last seven games Roman numeral number seven. Here, I might
ask to do something outside of your Dolphins Roman numeral seven.
Who makes a playoff run minus Miami. Who do you
look at and you see their schedule and they make
a playoff run? Now, I say Baltimore, that's my slam dunk.
I think it's maybe even somewhat of an easy pick.
(35:18):
You're looking at a division now where they are only
one game out. Of first place. The Steelers lost, and
I drops into five and four the Dolphins, or excuse me,
the Ravens are just a game out now first place.
And I mentioned their schedule coming up. They've got the Browns,
the Jets, and the Bengals. Oh, then you get the
Steelers again before you get the Bengals one more time,
(35:39):
and they're probably going to be favored in one, two, three, four,
at the very least four of those five games. Who
knows what the Steelers might look like at that point.
I'll take the Ravens for Roman numeral number seven.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Who you got at, Bob'm wrong, and I'll do a
complete reversal on this. On the Jaguars, then obviously it's
going to be camp the City, right, and they'll get
that last playoff spot. If they don't win the division,
that's gonna be the problem. If you think, do you
think Denver's gonna hold on and win that division? No?
(36:11):
You say that laughingly, You're like, no, no, no way.
If Denver does hold on, then maybe Kansas City makes
a run gets that last playoff spot over Jacksonville, which
you know, maybe happens there. Texans looked awfully good today.
I'm wondering if that's the start of something. And as
you said, the Ravens, the Ravens, as you said, maybe
(36:34):
getting back on track with such an easy schedule. I'm
sorry what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Well, you said you thought the Texans looked good today.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
Uh yeah, they got a big win over the Jaguars.
I mean I thought that was good. They came alive
in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
The Jaguars won, That gave that game away. Man, they
had every opportunity to destroy the Texans backup quarterback too
for the Texans. Here's why, And all can Bronco fan
just deal with it? I mean, I think you know
you watch the game. We all watch it on Thursday night.
Name the number of teams in their eight and two
record right now that Denver is beaten, that has a
(37:10):
winning record. The answer is.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
One, Oh it's that bad.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
Oh wow, they've beaten one team with a winning record. Now,
in fairness, a Bronco fan could counter and say, not
our fault. It's a schedule that's laid out in front
of us, and in their two losses it's only by
combined four points. In a while last second field goal
win by the Colts and a field goal loss to
the Chargers. I mean, technically you're looking at a team
(37:37):
that could be ten to zero. But they also should
have lost to the Jets, They should have lost to
the Giants, should have lost of the Texans, probably should
have lost the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
On they go to schedule ball. The rest of them
only two games against teams that I think are sub
five hundred, and those two games are on the road.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
So I'm not a big believer. Like if Roman Numeral
seven was teams that you think could tumble down the stretch, Yeah,
especially based on what I saw Thursday night, And maybe
that's an unfair gauge. It's the first time I've sat
and watched all four quarters of a Broncos game. Like,
I don't know how this team is sitting here at
eight and two right now. Like the Raiders pretty much
(38:17):
kept them from doing anything, and bo Nicks looked incompetent
as their starting quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Would you say the same thing about the Bears. I mean,
you thought that they were lucky to go ahead and
pull that out. Now they don't have the easiest schedules
also the rest of the way, so they could really
stumble and go backwards. But they I brought it up
with the Bears though.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
I mean they've got four games that they had no
business winning, right, including today against the New York Giants,
and you mentioned a tough schedule. I don't know what
to make of the vikings right now. Today was really
bad for JJ McCarthy. But there's those moments like the
week before and then he'll have these flashes like he
did what was it Patrick before he got hurt Week
two where we had that big fourth quarter on Monday
(38:58):
Night football, Like, I don't know what to make maybe
it was week one. I don't know what to make
of JJ McCarthy right now because there's this part of
me and I know it's kind of messy with Justin
Jefferson today that I mean in that a place where
eventually it's gonna click at some point this season, you know.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Chris, I mean the guy. Look, I know the show
is tonight. I always say that, but that guy's played.
I mean, if we're talking about years like Dog Ears
and stuff, this guy's like an infant. He has no
he how many games is he has under his belt?
Plus he's had all that injury time, right, I mean,
I do see stretches though, I'm like, wow, our sparks
of like this kid could play. He's got you know,
(39:35):
he's got a good head on his shoulders. I just
he needs time, man, he just needs like at least
the rest of the year to see what he's got
going and see what he puts up next year. But
he needs time to play.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
There's those moments though, Man, there are those moments with
him where you're you're like, Okay, I see it. What
would you say about you know, you brought up the Chiefs,
which is wild to look at them right now at
five and four and out of the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
Crazy.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
But I mean, is there I mean Carolina loss today,
I mean you put San Francisco maybe in that mix?
Is there anyone else? It's just not that we're not
seeing that's gonna make a.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
Run or not. I don't think San Francisco is gonna
make a run. I think I remember they were you know,
people were talking about them in Super Bowl. Who is
one of the listeners like if they make the super Bowl,
you better take me. Yeah, yeah, they're gonna make the
super Bowl. They're not even gonna make the playoffs. Maybe
they've hit the wall, And I wonder what's gonna happen
the rest of the year for them.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
All Right, Well, when we come back to the Fox
Sports Radio studios, we're gonna spend an hour just diving
into some of the bigger storylines from today and what
they mean going forward. We're gonna have some help Live
to Vegas coming up in about fifteen minutes with our
guy Todd.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
Furman and Bree Mirro.
Speaker 3 (40:42):

and highlights you need from what is a rapidly diminishing
weeks left in the NFL season. A full recap coming

Plank coming to you alive from the Fox Sports Radio Studios. ARNT.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
He's going to college hoops game.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
That's right, you know, a week from Wednesday, going with
some fraternity brothers. There's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
You got fraternity brothers from Arizona that are hanging out
in Connecticut. Are they staying at your place?
Speaker 1 (41:17):
No? They they live not too far. They like live
in Chappaquad, New York or something like that.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
So are they bucking up with you?
Speaker 1 (41:24):
No, they only live like forty five minutes from me.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
Oh that's okay.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Yeah, we're gonna get out. We're gonna get a place
up there by the by the game.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
Anyway, as afraid as you are of driving at night,
I'm surprised that you would even let them.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Dude, Wow, well, we're gonna stay up there. It's gonna
we're gonna go to the game. You know, harass all
the Yukon fans, have a good time, uh, you know,
beat their ass, and then then then get out of town.
We may go undefeated this year, that's how good we are.
We may not.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
Cut off my right arm. If Arizona goes undefeated in
college I'm.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
Gonna hold you to that right write that down, Patrick,
pull that pull pull that from the and we're gonna
cut off his right arm with a rusty saw when
Arizona and.
Speaker 3 (42:05):
When you're done, if Arizona goes undefeated in college basketball
this year, when you're done cutting off my right arm,
you can go ahead and cut off my left arm too,
and you can use a rustier saw on it. Wow,
I'm just telling you, that's how confident I us play Florida.
I did, and you guys nearly blew it. And had
a wide open game, tying three that one of your
(42:27):
dudes couldn't.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
I was worried about that. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
By one quick note before we let the show get
too far away from us and Arnie tries to ruin
it talking college basketball. By the way, how many times
has Arnie even asked, Hey, what'd you do this weekend?
Have you kept trackle down on the show tonight? Patrick?
Speaker 1 (42:42):
If you didn't do anything this weekend? Did you?
Speaker 3 (42:45):
He's asked me at least three times.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Yeah, well I haven't been asked at all.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
Wow, what did you do this weekend?
Speaker 3 (42:50):
Yeah, don't worry about it.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
Would sit around and be fat?
Speaker 3 (42:54):
Yeah? Well, I mean, listen, buddy, I'm working out now.
I'm down fifteen pounds.
Speaker 1 (42:58):
My mom my ass another Wow, why is a.
Speaker 3 (43:05):
Fat guy calling other people fat and making fun of
their weight?
Speaker 2 (43:09):
Can you explain that to me?
Speaker 6 (43:10):
No?
Speaker 1 (43:10):
I can't. I can't.
Speaker 3 (43:11):
Okay, I was in Spokane calling a college basketball game.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
Get out of here. You were double dipping?
Speaker 3 (43:17):
Yeah, I mean I literally posted it on my Twitter feed.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
I didn't see it.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
You have no care whatsoever about how long?
Speaker 1 (43:24):
How does it take you to get up to Spokane?
Speaker 2 (43:27):
Three and a half hours there two and a half back, So.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
It was wow, the flights, the flights okay and everything.
Speaker 3 (43:34):
No, I flew private, r I p tonight to all
time great Private. Yeah, I mean, wow, you're very fancy, dude.
The team flies Charter, Okay, That's that's how they fly
to every single game. So you fancy U. C l
A does it? Oklahoma does it.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
I've never can Charter, never.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
In my way, but you sure do talk like someone
who does.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
No. I mean, I'm not as important as you are.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
I guess you don't care to ask how people are doing, Ripe.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Why can't I ever call a game with you? You know,
people want to hear us calling the Oklahoma softball You
never invite me.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
I don't want you there.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
To.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
One of the all time legends of the National footballgue
a very interesting reign, Paul Tagliabou, passed.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Away today at the age of eighty four.
Speaker 3 (44:22):
Yeah. He had been battling Parkinson's. He took over for
Pete Roselle, and I didn't realize. I didn't realize that
Tagliabou was the commissioner for seventeen.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
Yeah, seventeen years. He was instrumental with the expansion of
the NFL to where it is right now. He was
also instrumental on getting the start of getting the big,
big money from the television companies, got Fox involved for
the first time and went back to ABC. Just a
tremendous guy. I mean, you want to talk about the
(44:54):
Mountain rushmore of you know commissioners in all sports. He's
certainly on the good guy and very intelligent and just
did so much for the NFL. Really sad when I
saw that today.
Speaker 3 (45:07):
It was always interesting to me because I thought he
was great. There are there are some people that still
hold it against him because he wasn't the most He
wasn't the softest because he kind of had some hot
takes about concussions that people didn't really like too terribly much.
You also saw the Browns relocate during his tenure and
(45:30):
the Oilers, so suit two traditional franchises moved on. He
made things right, I think for both cities and getting
Houston a franchise and getting a franchise back to Cleveland,
getting the Browns back.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
But I thought he was awesome. I thought he was great.
He wasn't he was.
Speaker 3 (45:46):
He did seem like and maybe this is a new
era because of his push with the TV networks. I
didn't feel like he was out in front of the
cameras as much. Is that just me misremembering it or no.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
But he retired in two thousand and six, so you know,
maybe a little bit was before social media really took
everybody by storm. And but he certainly was known. There's
no doubt about that. He was a big name and
just he certainly will be missed. But you're right, he
was battling Parkinson's and I'm pretty much out of the
limelight for a lot of years. I really was wondering
(46:17):
what happened to the guy?
Speaker 2 (46:18):
A couple of Twitter by the way.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Yeah, I'm sorry, but another person passed away to another
great in Lenny Wilkins too, so former coach eighty eight
years old, ex New York Knicks coach. Also, but when
you think of Leddiy Wilkins, what do you think Cleveland?
Is that the first that comes to your mind?
Speaker 2 (46:36):
Or what cattle?
Speaker 1 (46:37):
Maybe it could be you're right about that too.
Speaker 3 (46:39):
I mean the seventy nine so I mean certainly would be.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
Yeah, Hall of Famer, no doubt about that.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
He was the coach at Seattle on two different occasions.
He was there from nine, sixteen nine to seventy two,
and then he came back from seventy seven to eighty five.
But that was run.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
That was a run with the Caps. I didn't realize
that he had.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
He played for them in sixty eight. He played for
them then.
Speaker 3 (47:02):
Yeah, well, I mean he played he coached for them
in sixty nine to seventy two is what I'm looking
at right here for the Seattle Super Sonics and then
played for him for sixty eighty seventy two. So was
he like doing the player coach thing or something, No idea,
That's what I'm going off what Wikipedia had. But he
was an All Star. He was an All Star in
seventy three, so that was his last All Star Game appearance.
(47:23):
Whenever he was with the Cavaliers, he went, he went.
The Knicks were his last stop.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
Yeah do you know that?
Speaker 3 (47:30):
And you know five for that one.
Speaker 1 (47:31):
I did know it was his last team that he
had coached, but I know it was a short time
for the New York Knigs.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
Whether he was a player coach with the Sonics from
sixty nine to.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
Seventy wow, look at you for finding that out.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
Well, I know it's Funnyikipedia, it's hard.
Speaker 3 (47:42):
You google it up.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
You know what so funny is I said Cleveland, You
said Seattle, And you're probably right. He's probably known for
more in Seattle, though he wasn't Atlanta also for a
long time. I guess you could.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
You know what, I take that back, I think I
would remember him for Atlanta more because wow, yeah, just
because you I think you would have to dig at
least from my taste, right, just from what I experienced.
And that's nothing anti sonics from Oklahoma. I think that's
the dumbest fight that's ever taken place. I mean, and
by the way, there's always a couple of Seattle people
that will send me tweet threats. Don't need them, don't care.
(48:16):
You guys can be mad. We got a team. It's fine.
Speaker 2 (48:19):
You're gonna get one eventually.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
I'm sorry, but I think it for me, I remember
him as the Hawks guy, now that you mentioned it, right.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
He was there from ninety.
Speaker 1 (48:27):
Three seven, Yeah, seven years there, seven second time in Cleveland,
seven eight years in Seattle. So he had a pretty
good stint in all the places.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
Yeah, it had dominique, they made the Yeah, really had
a ton of success.
Speaker 1 (48:40):
It was always dunk competition.
Speaker 3 (48:41):
Well, you look at Atlanta, Conference semi finals, lost in
the first round, Conference semi finals, Conference semi finals, lost
in the first round, missed the playoffs. If you would
have told me that was his run in Atlanta, I
would tell you're crazy. I'm like, no, they were always
playing against the Celtics in the finals, right in the
Eastern Conference finals.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
But I guess not so, al right, I pe the
two legends.
Speaker 3 (49:01):
Good good reminder on Lenny Wilkins and Paul Tagliabu. All right,
couple of quick tweets, and I wanted to get to now.
During during the top of the hour, we were having
the conversation about teams that we think can make a run.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
James, what do you think of this one?
Speaker 3 (49:14):
I know him as James calling it right now, Joe
Flacco led Bengals knocked the Ravens out for the playoffs,
getting payback at his old franchise. He's looked good in Cincinnati,
There's no doubt about that. But I don't know if
I'd go that far with where the Bengals defense is
right now.
Speaker 1 (49:31):
Yeah, I agree with y'all. So I mean, I'm I
probably left them dead for the water all. So I
don't even know if Joe Flacco is gonna be enough
to pull them out, though you're right, he has look
good and kind of I don't want to say save them,
but uh, make them more palatable? Is that better a phrase?
I guess I just thought that once uh uh, you know,
they had their injuries and all that, that they were
(49:51):
pretty much done for the year and they probably will
be done for the year.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
Mister nobody, if you're a good team, you don't lose
to bad teams on the road or not. But when
you're so called leadership doesn't fix any of your needs
of the trade deadline, you lose two mediocre teams like
the Dolphins. Wow, look at that calling your team mediocre.
That's high praise.
Speaker 1 (50:11):
Yeah, that is high praise. The Bills did try to
get Jaylen Wattle, like I said, they offered a first
and a third, which I gotta be honest, that sounds
pretty good, does it not, Chris? I mean I would
have taken it. What were the Dolphins asking for two
first round picks? Oh?
Speaker 3 (50:28):
Are you always asking for that?
Speaker 1 (50:30):
I don't know, but you always laugh at me when
I say stuff like that. You nobody's gonna give you.
You probably say nobody who's even going to give you
a first round pick for Jaylen Wattle.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
But I first thought I would have thought a first
round pick for Wattle. I mean, you you're ready to
give up first round picks for like Jacobi Myers first
the third world.
Speaker 1 (50:47):
You know, I don't think much of the third. I'd
have to have a couple of first rounders, or maybe
I could have talked to them into giving me a
first and a second. If you're Buffalo and you offered
a first of the third, I'm sure you would have
offered a first of the second. They probably don't mean
anything for you because you're trying to go ahead and
you know, show the difference for this year. If you're Buffalo,
you want to make the case this year Kansas City
is reeling and you see the opening at the top.
(51:09):
This is going to be the year for for the
Bills to make their run.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
But can you really trade in division like that?
Speaker 1 (51:17):
The Dophins would have if you would have given them
the right prize.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
I mean, really, you're gonna have to pay. Had you
would have had no problem given up.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
I would have had a big problem with that. But
you have to pay the division tax. I don't know
if you know that. That's why instead of a first
and the third, the division tax means I'm gonna get
two number ones or first and second because I'm gonna
trade them within my division. So you're gonna have to
pay a little bit more for that. Sorry. There is
state and local, state, and national tax on this one.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
Yeah, okay, So what'd you make of what the Jets
did this week?
Speaker 7 (51:50):
Then?
Speaker 1 (51:52):
Is that crazy? They they're on a little bit of
a role. Man. Can you believe that there's still a mess?
But that was.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
Everybody?
Speaker 2 (52:01):
And then they go out and win their damn game.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
That's crazy, what I mean? You would have thought, like, hey,
they're just they're going nowhere, and they're going nowhere fast.
But I give them credit, you know, especially because it
wasn't like that a great game offensively, My goodness, man,
if you didn't have the special teams there, I don't
know what would have happened, you know.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
So again, I don't think anyone needs this refresher, but
both Sauce Gardner and who if I remember, just like
three weeks ago, was supposed to be the shutdown corner
that everyone wanted. Now the Jets trade him and apparently
he sucks. If I'm if I'm following all the lead
he gave, I think he gave up to two point
conversion when he stumbled in the game today.
Speaker 1 (52:42):
I thought that he gave up a big one.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
And then Quinn Williams, whom they had always the Jets,
it said, we're not trading him. We're not trading him. Boy.
They absolutely blew up that corps defensively. I mean, I
don't know if you are high five and in celebrating,
look at us, we just beat the Browns. But I mean,
they seem like they got pretty good value.
Speaker 1 (53:02):
Though.
Speaker 3 (53:02):
Right now you would be looking at that coltspick being
the thirty second in the first round. So right now
it would be like you're you're talking about something that
looks like it's going to be twenty eight, twenty nine,
thirty thirty one, thirty two in the first round.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
Right now, if you would have told me that the
Jets won, I would have said, wow, Justin Fields must
have had a humongous game. His numbers were probably I
would have said, well, he must have gotten hurt after
like the first drive or something, and they took him
out of the game and somebody had to come in
for him six of eleven fifty four yards. How do
you finish a whole game going six of eleven. Now,
(53:36):
grant that they did rush the ball for over one
hundred yards today, but that's it. That that that's just
that's like twenty.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
It's one twenty seven, Arny, that's all. They ran the ball,
fighting trying to do that pressure.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
No, right, but I mean they still ran the ball, okay,
But at Breese Hall he had one big one. If
he'd take away his thirty yarder, then who knows they
have under one hundred yards? Justin fields was just awful.
I mean just his quarterback rating, what was like sixteen
or something. He was just he was miserable.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Up right now it was sixteen point zero, close to
zero point zero, which, by the way, real quick note
on really bad quarterbacking. I for some reason, was all
in on watching Wake Forest in Virginia yesterday. Wake Forest
upset the what were previously the what eleventh seeded team
in the first College Football Playoff rankings. The two quarterbacks
(54:31):
for wake Forest they played two Arnie combined to go
nine of twenty three for sixty four yards, averaging two
point eight yards per pass and they won the football game, Like,
how do how does that even happen in college football?
Speaker 1 (54:42):
What other? Just one thing guy on Buffalo? Is this
an insult? Or is it a compliment? But Josh Allen,
you know who he is, don't you?
Speaker 3 (54:53):
He's I mean, you're trying to tell me if it's
an insult or compliment? So I paint me intrigued.
Speaker 1 (54:57):
He's going to be Dan Marino. He's going to have
a whole career.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
He's got to go to a super Bowl first.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
Before you say that, I'm sure he'll sneak in the
one and then they'll lose, and thinking they're going to
be back, he'll never get back and he'll never win.
Is that a compliment or is that an insult? If
I call him Dan Marino?
Speaker 3 (55:16):
Well, it depends on how you're trying to paint it.
Are you trying to paint it as a compliment or
an insult? But which one?
Speaker 2 (55:22):
Is it? So you're painting it as an insult?
Speaker 1 (55:24):
Marino's a Hall of Famer, but yet never won the
Big One and only went once, and he thought he
was going to get back every year.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
Well he only went once right early in his career too.
It was season two right for Dan Marino and never again,
never ever again, based on where the Bills have been, right,
how close they've been to a super Bowl, the heartbreak,
and the way they've lost at least three of those
(55:51):
playoff games. He the Chiefs, I would say, that's an insult.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
I would say, but again I stop, and.
Speaker 1 (55:57):
I think, yeah, Hall of Famer Damn Marie.
Speaker 3 (55:59):
Marino was a freaking stud.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
He is, he is, he went, he was Dan Marino, Kaida.
Speaker 3 (56:06):
So then there's this kind of balance where it's like
for team success, okay, sure, but for just being a
quarterback in this league. Yeah, I mean you're the Dolphins fan.
He very well couldn't.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
He very well could turn into Dan Marino, where statistically
he's not gonna have the numbers I think Dan had,
I think, and he could only probably in his career
maybe make it to one super Bowl, if even makes
it to that. Chris, to be honest with, yeah, how
big of an issue did you think?
Speaker 3 (56:31):
Because I just I don't know if red zone did
it good justice, But was the weather as bad or no?
Speaker 1 (56:38):
Today? I didn't really notice it when I was watching
the game on the red Zone. I didn't get to
watch the game on CBS, But I saw a little
bit and red zone didn't really break into it all
that much. It didn't seem like it was pouring though,
like you see on most games. I was surprised what
they kept saying in the weather here, and I'm like,
what I I don't see it coming down.
Speaker 3 (56:58):
I mean, and al still for three hundred and six yards.
But granted they only ran it for eighty seven. So
tough one. Bills lose the Dolphins in one of the
biggest I think upsets so far this season. All right,
when we come back to the Fox Sports radio studios,
let's go to Vegas. Our man Todd Furman is in
the house next with Arnie and Plank on a Fox
Football Sunday. All right, we do every single Sunday night,
and we're blessed that Todd Freman joins us with Arnie
(57:20):
Spaniel on Chris Plank on a Fox Football Sunday. Hey, Todd,
did the We've seen some spreadbusters and things of that nature.
Did the late touchdown in the Texans Jaguars game. Impact anything?
Speaker 1 (57:33):
Not?
Speaker 5 (57:34):
Really?
Speaker 8 (57:34):
You look at the way that game had been met
throughout the course of the week. Houston largely closed right
around a one point favorite. But I'm sure there were
some folks that might have had an early number on
the Jags plus one and a half that weren't thrilled
that Will Anderson decides that he wants to try and
go for the glory instead of sliding down to cement
that victory. There so inevitably with a game like that,
there were a little bit of spread implications, but for
the majority of the week it wouldn't have really changed
(57:57):
that particular outcome.
Speaker 1 (57:58):
Todd Ow did work. When the Colts were getting six
and a half, they won by acsu mean they were
laying six and a half, they won by six. Bears
were laying four and a half, they won by four.
Do the books clean up on that or do they
get clobbered because that's right there in the middle. Maybe
some people, you know, they have to pay off both.
Speaker 8 (58:14):
Ends on that pretty good two way action on the
game in Berlin early this morning, So that game never
really came off that six six and a half range.
Speaker 4 (58:22):
Did.
Speaker 8 (58:22):
Bears, on the other hand, though, that was a game
that actually opened as low as minus three or earlier
in the league, got got bet out to four and
a half. So playing fiddle in the middle. There probably
not the ideal outcome for the House, although the majority
of action does come in on Sunday and the Bears
were very public side while professional professional betters gravitated towards
the underdog there. So I'm not sure it's the best
outcome that the House was looking for, but significantly better
(58:45):
than the way the Late Afternoon slate went, with every
game going to the favorites way starting with the four
or five Eastern window going into Sunday night, and three
out of those four games all going over the total,
with the loan exception being the clunker between the Steelers
and Chargers.
Speaker 3 (58:59):
You know, I, I know we probably asked a question
similar to this, but has there been a team that's
really elevated in your opinion that you feel confident saying
they're going to the Super Bowl right now? In that
late window? Lines look great, Rams look great, but the
Bills lose today the Chiefs coming off the loss of
the Bills and they had to buy, Like, is anyone
just really jumping to the top of your charts right now?
Speaker 8 (59:21):
I think when you go through the league and you
try and identify teams that you know you should be
power rating and paying proper respect to three in the
AFC standout and that would be, you know, the Kansas
City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens, and to a lesser extent
still the Buffalo Bills, although I'm starting to have.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
More and more concerns, yeah, Buffalo the.
Speaker 8 (59:38):
Game against Kansas City last week. Notwithstanding, there are starting
to be too many data points with this team offensively
that raise your eyebrows and lead you to believe that
they're going to have their hands full should they meet
a team like the Colts or the New England Patriots
at some point in the playoffs. This is a Chargers
team that's not going away. And look, Denver is extremely
formidable defensively, even if they have a variety of shortcomings
(59:58):
on the offensive side. So I think the AFC, you know,
is going to be one of the more difficult paths
to try and get through. And in the NFC right now,
we're going to get an inkling in terms of who
may be the top dog in the entire conference when
the Rams play host to the Seahawks in Sofi Stadium
next weekend. The Rams right now at two to two
and a half point favorite in that contest.
Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
I tried to tell Plank before the start of the year,
it's not going to be the Bills, YERI. He didn't
listen to me. But that's beside the point. Did the
Dolphins wake up from a coma? They do? They still
have a chance to make a run at this thing.
The next four games are going to be super easy.
They'll be favored in three of them until they have
to go to Pittsburgh, which is like, no big deal.
Are they still alive?
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Or what I mean?
Speaker 8 (01:00:36):
The fact that we're talking about the Dolphins here as
they sit at three and seven and you're actually gonna
make me pull up their schedules a little bit perplexing
at the same time. But yes, they look to be
favorites in all three of those games. The game against
the Jets, we'll see how much things change. But of
course they'll fly overseas and play the early kickoff time
in Madrid against the Commanders, where there are two to
two and a half point favorite. They will no doubt
be home favorites against the New Orleans Saints at the
(01:00:59):
end of November as well. But the Dolphins, in my opinion,
have absolutely zero pass to get to the playoffs and
jump Boomer a number of more talented teams. The only
thing these wins will do, Arnie is work against you
got trying to find the replacement for Tuatago our low
under center.
Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
Oh no, no, he's he'll be back next year.
Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
So basically, what you're saying, Todd is the whole first
hour and fifteen minutes of the show has been a
waste in my life.
Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
Dolphins clank.
Speaker 8 (01:01:23):
Let's be honest here, we could say that about a
lot of the first hour on say when you give
Arnie the opportunity to get the first word in so
you know what you're getting this same time every week.
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
My fault, hey in general, help me, Like, what's been
the fallout?
Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
Is?
Speaker 3 (01:01:40):
Are they just going to be done with Pete Carroll?
I mean that was so disgusting on Thursday night. I
don't even know. I'm not even mad. I'm like sad,
you know when your your parents would say, I'm not mad,
it's disappointed, right, I'm just disappointed in the state of
this franchise right now.
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
What's going on.
Speaker 8 (01:01:55):
I look, I don't think they've really provided much in
the way of a silver lining to be excited about
the fact that Ashton Gent is going to be a
franchise running back. Unfortunately, the trajector he's on, the only
runway he may be is running right into a brick
wall behind this kind of offensive line and some of
the ineptitude organizationally speaking. But you look at this Raiders
offense and in two of the last three weeks they
(01:02:16):
failed to get the double digits, getting shut out on
the road, an arrowhead shut out against the divisional fow
against the Broncos, and look, the defense gave them more
than a puncher's chance to win that game. And it's
extremely frustrating because it's one step forward to maybe even
three steps backwards, and it's not as if there's a
young quarterback that they can try and throw out there
to figure out if he's going to be the guy
going forward. Gino Smith was out there battling, couldn't really
(01:02:38):
move in the pocket, didn't give him much protection against
that Denver defensive front. But you look at their upcoming
schedule and yeah, de facto coin flip on Monday Night
football against the Cowboys. Maybe a winnable game against the
Browns and they can build a little bit of momentum,
but that's probably where it stops. When you look at
the gauntlet they'll go through over the latter portion of
the schedule Todd.
Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
In college, when a team fires their coach, are you
a guy that likes to bet with them or a
against them? In that situation? I mean, take a look
at Penn State. Look what they've done. I'm almost got
the upset, unbelievable. Used to lay out a couple wins
before they got clobber. Do you do you like go
with the team that lost their coach? Are going against them? Case?
Speaker 8 (01:03:15):
My case basis for every example of a team that
raises their level of play and decides they want to
try and go out there and fight for the interim,
you have the exact opposite. That's true as we saw
in the Mountain West with Colorado State, who's been bludging
not once but twice since parting ways with Jane Orvel.
But for the most part, teams typically respond to their interim.
But again, every number is what dictates or predicates a
(01:03:38):
decision making process for you as a better So you
never want to make blanket statements or generalizations and say
this particular trend or situation is something that you want
to fly into blindly and risk your harder money.
Speaker 3 (01:03:49):
Hey Todd, what do you make tomorrow night? I mean,
Eagles are only a point and a half. Actually, it's
now shifted. The Eagles are a poort and half dog
going to this game against green Bay, and after what
we saw from green Bay last night, I get to
talk about Monday night football, but I'm intrigued by this one.
Speaker 8 (01:04:05):
A game where you saw green Bay actually a three
point favorite going into last weekend before they dubbed their
toe and then some against the Carolina Panthers. It was
a game that you dig into the box score and
green Bay didn't punt the football one time. But when
you go one for five with your red zone possessions,
tough to win in the National Football League. And here
come the Packers kind of limping into the marquee affair
of the weekend, banged up the wide receiver position, not
(01:04:26):
healthy in the trenches, and Philadelphia well rested with some reinforcements.
So what you've seen in the betting market this week
is that number come off of the field goal now
down into that green Bay minus one range did get
to pick them before. There was a little bit of buyback.
Fascinating game, and you always wonder about a team that's wounded.
It had been backed into a corner the Lions held
Serve in the NFC North earlier. Today, the Bears haven't
(01:04:48):
gone away, and even with the Vikings losing to the Ravens,
no such thing as an easy divisional game. So in
my opinion, we'll get the best of green Bay tomorrow
night if it's good enough to beat Philadelphia, though it
remains to be seen tod There's.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Got to be some value on own to the super Bowl,
betting on who's going to go to the super Bowl,
especially when you take a look at the teams that
are on top, like Indianapolis, Denver, the Patriots, Seattle. If
you don't like those teams, and a lot of people won't,
there's got to be what value with the Rams right there,
like a five seed now or even Kansas City or
something like that.
Speaker 8 (01:05:19):
Kansas City's number really hasn't drifted out, even the struggles
earlier on. I mean, you could have had a twelve
or thirteen to one was kind of the peak of
the market. We'll get a better indication of what Kansas
City is going forward when they come in off the
buy travel on the road to Denver, where there'll be
a three to three and a half point favorite, maybe
even upwards of four in that contest. But a team
I think that's hard to ignore in the AFC that's
(01:05:39):
rounding in a form and their upcoming schedule extremely favorable.
Now a massive favorite to win their division in the
wake of the Steelers defeat tonight against the Chargers of
the Baltimore Ravens. I mean, this is a team that
is going to get healthier as the season progresses, you
would think, potentially getting all of the bad injury luck
out of the way. And if you shop around, you
can find them eight to want to win the AFC,
and of course significantly better to win the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
So he's betting one team.
Speaker 8 (01:06:02):
Yeah, if I was betting one team right now to
win the Super Bowl, I know Lamar hasn't gotten a
team there in the past. Coach Harball is looking to
try and get them back to the top of the mountain.
But the Baltimore Ravens would be the team getting my
money in the futures market.
Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
Wow, Buddy Man, Todd Furhman, have a great week. Thanks
for always giving us the insight.
Speaker 8 (01:06:18):
Always a pleasure, gentlemen, have a great week.
Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Whoa you think you're gonna get out of here after
Arizona Bean Florida like that. You didn't say nothing, but
he just hung up on me.
Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
Oh my goodness, it's like week one of the college
basketball season. What are you doing? We're in week ten
of the NFL Week eleven of college football. You think
Shady Sean gets mad at us when we try to
talk college football.
Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
You're bringing up college basketball? Another dog talking about excellence,
even if it's the first week.
Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
Okay, breeze in the house to night for Steve the
saga Brandon Mirror has everything, SA fan?
Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
What's going on?
Speaker 6 (01:06:48):
My gosh, it's like a Scarlett letter you're throwing at
me right now.
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Parents win one game and he's the cockiest.
Speaker 6 (01:06:57):
I was actually really happy for you, Arnie when I was, Oh,
the Dolphins are gonna win. Wow, I'm gonna work tonight.
I'm so happy for I'm not happy for you anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:07:04):
Wow. I hope you know that. Yeah, that's hot. I
am mean, I hope they lose that fan. Unbelievable. Who's
a s I never met a Saints fan you have?
Who's been a.
Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
National radio since never eighties? You never met it?
Speaker 5 (01:07:20):
Fan.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
Never met a Saints fan. Matter of fact, when I
watch a Saint's game, they play in front of nobody, right,
there's nobody at the games. That is so untruting. I
think you have like zero peace.
Speaker 6 (01:07:28):
Are you thinking of the Chargers?
Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
I'm sorry, wow, wow?
Speaker 6 (01:07:32):
Are you a Chargers fan?
Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
Now?
Speaker 6 (01:07:33):
Are you offended by that?
Speaker 1 (01:07:35):
How many Saints fans have tweeted us in a twelve
years we've been doing the show.
Speaker 6 (01:07:40):
Zero tweeted and she wants zero fan zero Before I
started working here, I think I tweeted at you once.
Speaker 3 (01:07:46):
Or twice, doesn't matter. He's he just just for continue
the update.
Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
For goodness sakes, my god, is my fault.
Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
Or fall yours? You're a Saints fan, It's always his.
Speaker 6 (01:08:00):
It is always his fault. Okay, you guys. The Chargers
improved a seven and three after taking down the Steelers
twenty five to ten Aaron Rodgers sixteen thirty one, one
hundred and sixty one yards and one touchdown and two picks.
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh is one of the two
head coaches who Rogers has zero wins win wins against.
Can you guys guess the other one?
Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
I could do this.
Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
I could sit here all night long and pride the Broncos.
Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
No, it's a head coach, head coach. Y, Yeah, I'm sorry,
Sean Payton. Then no, I would be happy about that.
Speaker 6 (01:08:36):
But now, but as somebody else I do like and
he's from the Shanahan coaching tree, kind of like a
seed of the Shanahan coaching tree.
Speaker 1 (01:08:45):
Mike McDaniel, No, who is it Kyle Shanahan? Is it
Kyle Shanahan. I was gonna say him the seed.
Speaker 6 (01:08:52):
Of the Shannahan coaching tree.
Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Yeah, that's a good hand.
Speaker 6 (01:08:55):
Quarterback whisper a little bit, a little bit another quarterback
whisper head coach who lost today. The Ravens beat the
Vikings twenty seven and nineteen pork koc Baltimore has now
won three straight after starting one in five On the year.
Minnesota had eight fallse start penalties. JJ McCarthy two hundred
and forty eight yards, one touchdown, and two picks. The
(01:09:18):
Jets outscored the Browns twenty seven to twenty to win
their second straight game. The Patriots beat the Bucks twenty
eight to twenty three. They're calling that the Brady Bowl
right now, because you know Tom Brady ha ha, that's
so funny. New England improves to eight and two on
the year. They've won seven straight. And the new AP
Top twenty five pole did come out, and it looks
(01:09:39):
like Texas return to the top ten. And the ACC
has five teams ranked for the first time this season.
Wow yes, wow, okay wow back to you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
All five teams ranked, and it'll be very interesting to
see what happens on Tuesday night because in my opinion,
five team teams drank and I don't think any of
them are gonna be in the top twelve. Georgia Tech
at eight and one might have the best shot. Brian
Brian Fischer from SI is projecting Miami to show up
in the top twelve on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
And what about yours, Uh, they'll.
Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
Probably, I mean, we're going to play this week, so
they might just stay right where they are.
Speaker 1 (01:10:15):
If not, the big game against Alabama coming up.
Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
How about game Day? You got Alabama and Oklahoma, first
time the Sooners have gone to Tuscaloosa since three oh four.
Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
You've got Georgia.
Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
And Texas this week, right, it's huge, and they're taking
game Day to Pittsburgh versus Notre Dame.
Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
I saw that. I'm like, is the schedule real bad?
That's why I looked up the schedule and I knew that,
you know, the who o Gaholma was, But like, what
what are they picking that for? I don't understand that.
Speaker 3 (01:10:44):
Listen, I get it because McAfee is from that area.
But I mean, those are two massive, massive games next weekend.
But hey, you do you know, actually Iowa USC is
a pretty big.
Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
Game next week would have gotten there. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
Well, I mean I don't think they're not going to
go there, but I'm just saying they're out of the
playoff mix now. But USC is very much in it.
And USC is kind of keeping Notre Dame in it
as well too. But interesting decision on that front. All right,
let's hit some of your tweets. It's the best way
to stay in touch with the program.
Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:11:16):
One thing I did want to talk about here, not
to since you've already chased everyone away with college basketball for.
Speaker 1 (01:11:21):
The most part.
Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
Yeah, Jason B.
Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
Diamond points out the story that Jeff Passen and everyone
in baseball is talking about that prosecutors are a legend.
Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
We should probably should have asked Todd about this.
Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
The Louis Ortiz saga that played out where prosecutors are
legend that Louis or Teas was paid five thousand dollars
for throwing an intentional ball on June fifteenth, and em
Manual Place was given five grand for facilitating it. They
did it again, according to the indictment, on June twenty seventh,
and these guys just ended up making seven grand. And
(01:11:53):
that's it. And now they could end up in federal
prison if they're convicted of these charges. What are we
even thinking this major League Baseball? By the way, the
whole everyone's forgotten about it because it took them so
long to dive into. But it was the intentional throwing
of balls or strikes.
Speaker 1 (01:12:07):
I heard Ephraim and Will we're talking about this, like,
how can you do that for five and seven thousand
dollars when you've made over a million or millions of dollars. Sure,
it doesn't make sense. I can only think of one thing, Chris,
I don't hear a lot of people talking about this.
I don't even know if this is to be true. Obviously,
this is my own nutty idea. And you know, based
(01:12:27):
on all the gambling we saw with the mafia being involved.
You don't think like the mafia or the cartel got
to these guys and said, if you don't do what
we say, you know your family could be in trouble.
And just to make sure if we get caught, we're
going to pay you five or seven thousand dollars. So
it looks like you're taking a bribe. That's the only
thing I can think of. Otherwise, why would you do something.
Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
Like that unless you were in deep and the other
side of it, you owed them a favor because you've
lost so much. Isn't that what we Isn't that what
we learned about a couple of the NBA guys that
they were in so deep and some of the gambling
debt that they allegedly had right they were willing to
do whatever it took to kind of.
Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
Pay up at that debt. But why the five and
the seven thousand dollars? That's I mean, that's chump change
to these guys. You would think that's not even a
dinner bill when you have to take out all the
rookies or the rookies still with the vessels.
Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
If you're saying do it or we're going to hurt you,
then why would you be giving the money? You would
just not hurt them.
Speaker 1 (01:13:23):
No, No, I would say, because it makes them like
the only reason I say they gave him the money
is because if they ever got caught, they could look
like they're guilty because they took money. And if they
tried to say, oh, no, we were threatened, they'll say, well,
why did you take the money? I don't know. It's
only I could think of Chris, lets you have a
better hypothesis on why you would take that type of
money that much jump change.
Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
That might be a good way to look at it.
I just think people are dumb, I think is what
it boils down to. As well. You can't see sometimes
you can't see the forest through the trees. And a
quick five grand and a quick seven grand when you
don't think anyone's going to know about it, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
They might just look at that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:57):
It's like, hey, this is easy money, and if we
get away with this, we can do this twice a month.
And where you're like, oh, why would you do it
for seven grand, Well suddenly that's fourteen grand a month.
And suddenly, if you're able to pull it off, you know,
you can get up to where it's like twenty eight
grand over two months.
Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
Why would you see? My whole thing is, why would
you take the money when you could just have like
your best friend, place a lot of money on you
doing the same thing and you don't have to get
anybody else involved, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
You could how many people do do we know how
many people are involved in this?
Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
Okay, well you're you're laying it out like there's some
sort of crime get stopping the kid and I don't
even even know if that's the case, but all right, Hey,
so anyway, that's an interesting story to keep an eye
on throughout the night. But it looks like it's gonna
get ugly and these guys career is over because of it.
And that's same.
Speaker 1 (01:14:43):
Do you think that's the only you think that's we've
already scratched the surface. I mean, do you think there's
a bunch of other people not involved with this but
are doing the same thing or what.
Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
They're gonna get caught? I mean, you're eventually gonna get caught.
Speaker 3 (01:14:55):
And that's the reality because there's just not enough people
gambling on some things like that whenever. I mean, that's
the whole thing about it being as omnipresident in my
opinion as it is, there's more checks and balance in
place than there's ever been whenever it comes to right
and wrong. Now, just to make sure we get back
to football before we grab a break that by the way,
Department of Justice, the Luis Ortiz and Emmanuel Klaus Roman
(01:15:19):
Numa twenty one, so we can check that one off.
Roman Numeral twenty Keep her fire, Brian Dabole, what you say.
Speaker 1 (01:15:27):
I had thought I saw I felt for one of
those fake tweets. I had thought that he had got
fired earlier. Today I'm like, oh, they've really got I go.
After that game, that's the one that pushes him over
the over. The was the last straw they had to
get rid of him. Now before the end of the year.
You know, part of me wants to keep him around
for one more year with the injuries they've had and
(01:15:50):
you know, getting him the new quarterback in there, and
I mean he's played what like five games, yeah, and
the team does look so much better with him there.
I kind of we'd like to give him one more year,
but I mean, looking forward in the future, he's not
long term for them, and I guess it's probably better
if you get rid of him now, bringing a new
coach that could work with Jackson Dard and start a
(01:16:13):
relationship there. So it'll probably be better to let him go
and pick somebody else up.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
They they don't have they haven't had their up trying
to speak English, they haven't had their buy yet. So
technically you can wait until after December first, because that's
when your bye week comes.
Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
Right then you get Washington on the fourteenth.
Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
But are they going to be a favorite in any
of these next three games Packers at the Lions, at
the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (01:16:41):
No. Does it really make a difference though, Do you
want to bring in in a rum and to take
the beating or do you just want him to take
the beating and say, okay, now it was deserving, so
let him finish out the year. I don't know which
is better, to be honest.
Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
And I won eighty on this and I know we
got a break. It also allows you if you started
on your coaching search. Yeah, and there's not a lot
of people that are going to talk to you. While
you have a guy sitting there, maybe you get an
opportunity to talk to a few people and their representatives.
If you have the vacancy, but I don't know if
it's gonna make any difference with the Giants, because boy, ages,
they just blew that one today, absolutely blew it. All right,
(01:17:18):
when we come back, a couple of notes tidbit stats
to get you caught up on from week ten right
here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's Arny and
Plank where spending the night recapping Week ten?
Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
Dances to this.
Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
When I was in college charge high school, Night Over
the Steelers and Sunday Night Football twenty five to ten
Bills get upset by the Dolphins Houston with an incredible
fourth quarter rally, and honestly one of the best games
of the day was the early game where the Colts
found a way. I was on the West Coast to
(01:17:49):
start today six thirty am. Football is a trip.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
Oh have you been on the West coast for the
London games at all?
Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
Yeah? Yeah, it's too early. I hate doing that. I
hope it's a bad game, as I like to sleep late.
Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
Well, I I mean, you don't have to see her, hope.
We talked about it for it like today, because it
happened this morning. Just because it wasn't you doesn't mean
It wasn't something that I experience, but I don't know, dude,
I loved it.
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
Oh literally, the.
Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
Alarm goes off, you know, turn on the TV and
there's Kurt Warner and they're kicking a game off. It's
an incredible feeling for us early risers. Now, if you're
somebody that feels like you need to gamble on every game,
maybe six thirty isn't the best kick.
Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
But it was kind of wild because we got on
a go ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
I was gonna say, what did you think about the
you know, the games, the early games being done at
one o'clock thanks to you, as one o'clock in the afternoon,
you only got like three games left.
Speaker 3 (01:18:43):
Well, I was in the air by that point, so
we got it. We went in the air and the
midway through the third quarter and it was one of
those games. Yeah, I had no way to check it
because there was no why poor poor woe is me? Right,
there's no Wi Fi on the plane. But it was
one of those moments like when you land, you can't
to go back and see what happens when you find
out it's in overtimes. Oh my god, it's an overtime.
(01:19:04):
What happened? But the point is more than anything else.
I'm a fan of the six thirty am. Too early,
I can't is there a such thing as too early
for football?
Speaker 1 (01:19:14):
It is. I look, I give you your time zone,
or maybe the one.
Speaker 3 (01:19:18):
I mean, the Central time zone is the best. It's
not even clothes cap, I mean it's the absolute best.
By speaking of the Central time zone, shout out to Chicago,
not just the Bears, but thinking of our friends up
in the I guess what you can say the Great North,
the Great Midwest, where the National Weather Service is warning
of life threatening travel conditions, where Chicago could see a
(01:19:41):
foot or more of snow this week. Wow, foot or
more of snow. Now, listen, if we had a foot
or more of snow where I live, it would shut
down the whole state for like a month.
Speaker 1 (01:19:52):
We in like two days.
Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Yeah yeah, but anyway, So thoughts to those of you
in the Chicago. You'll be smart. I don't know if
it'll have any effect. I mean, it's way too early
to think about games. But you have a little snow
during that Jets, during that Giants Bears game today? Look
pretty cool as that game was going on, But are
you buying it to the Bears at all I am.
Speaker 1 (01:20:13):
I'm buying it to the Bears. I thought maybe this
year they can make a little bit of a run. Now,
I mean, look, they're taking steps in the right direction.
Kate Williams is taking steps in the right direction. I mean,
he had to turn it around, and this is this
is the year he's turning it around.
Speaker 3 (01:20:28):
Chris, all right, when we come back to the Fox
Sports Radio studios, we're gonna dive into what we learned
after week ten. We know this and we got Arnie's picks.
Plus I got all the postgame audio and sound that
you need from the locker room, the highlights, the biggest
plays of the day. It's all coming up as we
had on the home stretch. And don't forget the best
way to get in touch with the show. Hit us
up on X that's tinking Genius one. I'm a Plank show.
(01:20:49):
Everyone go follow us at Fox Sports Radio. Power Hour
is next? All right, Power Hour?
Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
Power Hour?
Speaker 3 (01:20:58):
Aren't you playing coming?
Speaker 1 (01:20:59):
You laugh?
Speaker 3 (01:20:59):
From the Sports radio studios. In this hour, you'll get
Arnie's picks, which were not very good in college.
Speaker 1 (01:21:04):
No there, I was two and I was five and
ten in college in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
Can I take over the pick segment in one week?
Speaker 1 (01:21:11):
Yeah, I had one bad week. I don't hear you
bringing up when I said Arizona was going to beat four,
And I don't hear you bringing that up.
Speaker 2 (01:21:18):
Well, I mean, do you do? You just get to
celebrate one win and that's.
Speaker 1 (01:21:21):
It, Arizona over Kansasency.
Speaker 2 (01:21:23):
I think it's time to walk the plank. I'm telling
you would have the greatest pick segment ever.
Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
But listen, plank.
Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
That's the reason.
Speaker 3 (01:21:33):
Well, it's a genius, nick beautiful, brilliant flag. Yeah, here's
your idea, calling yourself a stinking genius from a pick
you made in nineteen eighty. So I mean it's eight
yeah close, right, congratulations on picking Nebraska to beat Arizona
State or something like that.
Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
All right, So after week ten we know this? Where
do you want to start? After week ten?
Speaker 5 (01:21:54):
Arnie?
Speaker 1 (01:21:54):
You know this? Well, after week ten, I know this,
and you say this every week. I'll give you credit
for this. One is a week to week league and
it is so wide open it is crazy. When I
said there, when I asked Todd, there's got to be
value the number. Well, usually when you're this far into
the season, the two leaders in the AFC and the
NFC are usually the favorites to play each other into
(01:22:17):
the super Bowl, and that's not even close to being
the case here. Matter of fact, Indianapolis, Denver Patriots. Probably
none of those teams are the favorite to go to
the Super Bowl from the AFC, and they're one, two
and three right now. It is so wide open this year.
I don't know who to go with. I still think
it could be the Bills after what I saw today,
(01:22:38):
though probably not. I may go. If I had to
pick right now, Chris, I'd probably go with the Chargers
out of the AFC. That's the team'd and they're they're offensively,
certainly struggling, but defensively they're damn good. I don't know
who i'd go, and I don't want to go with
the Patriots, that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
Well who did you just lay? Why don't you want
to go with the Patriots?
Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
I hate the Patriots. I just can't do it. I
can't and I actually and I know they've won seven
in a row, but I don't think they really have
what it takes. Though at eight and two, I can't
doubt them.
Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
So what were you saying? About the like, none of
these teams have an MVP candidate on him. No, no,
I just said that right now.
Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
There, You know, you can get good value by taking
somebody else to go to the Super Bowls. You want to,
you don't want to take Indianapolis Denver. The pages Indianapolis
has Jonathan Taylor and Daniel Jones. But I don't think
Jonathan Taylor is going to win the MVP.
Speaker 2 (01:23:28):
Well he's the second pick right now.
Speaker 1 (01:23:30):
Oh is he easy going to do that? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
According to this is FanDuel.
Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
I don't know who's considered the official sports book of
Fox Sports Radio, but I'll just go with this because
it's the first thing that popped up when I googled it.
Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
Drake May is the top choice right now plus three.
Speaker 1 (01:23:43):
Wow? Is that all insane? He's won?
Speaker 3 (01:23:46):
What a is Matt Stafford at plus three hundred, followed
by Jonathan Taylor at plus five hundred. Then there's Patrick Mahomes,
Josh Allen, and Sam Darnold rounding up six and plus
eight hundred. You get a little bit better odds on
Jalen Hurts. He's plus two tops.
Speaker 1 (01:24:00):
It's twenty to one. Yees, is that crazy? What would
have been before the year. If you were to bet,
like saym Tartle to win the MVP, you probably got
like ten thousand to one on something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:24:11):
Well you got forty thousand to one right now on
Tua if you want to go with it. I don't
know why they I don't know why they expanded out
that far. Twenty thousand to one on bone Knicks or
not twenty thousand plus twenty thousand?
Speaker 1 (01:24:22):
Excuse me?
Speaker 3 (01:24:23):
So what is that? Two hundred to one? Math has
never laided my strong suit, but plus forty thousand on TUA,
So you got he still? I mean, he's in the
mix here for some reason. He's on this list. Nico
Collins is on this list. Joe Flacco is on this list.
Nick Benito has odds to be the MVP.
Speaker 1 (01:24:40):
That's gay you want to see?
Speaker 3 (01:24:41):
Do you want to know who is the highest best
odds on a bad team to win the Super Bowl?
Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
Right now?
Speaker 2 (01:24:48):
Best odds on a bad team to win.
Speaker 3 (01:24:49):
The Super Bowl? Right That's a great trivia question because
I mentioned May Stafford Taylor all winning football teams. I
guess we could argue about Mahomes and the Chiefs, but
best odds on the team Jakie Prescott for the Prescott
is a good gas. Yes, but there is one player
ahead of him that caught my eye. J Daniels, B
(01:25:11):
John Robinson, Oh, B John Robinson. Yeah, but his his
number is plus thirty thousand, and Aaron Rodgers is actually
ahead of him had plus twenty five.
Speaker 1 (01:25:20):
Have to be the most disappointing team in the NFL
out of anybody they have. I mean, they've had a
major injuries that I know about, and look what they've
done this year at three and six, I thought they
were gonna win their division this year.
Speaker 3 (01:25:32):
Let's see what you say they are are the Bengals.
The Bengals, though, do have because.
Speaker 1 (01:25:36):
Joe Burrow, he got a factor that in there. I
wouldn't put them in. I have to go with Atlanta
being the most.
Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
Of commanders would be a good one. But they've had injuries.
Speaker 1 (01:25:46):
Injuries, yep, yeah, Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (01:25:50):
Well, Arizona really made the right call at quarterback this week,
didn't they invention Kyler Murray stick?
Speaker 6 (01:25:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:25:55):
Exactly What are they gonna do with Murray though? Moving forward?
Because I don't think he's going to be back ever
playing for the Cardinals after this year, even if he
plays this year.
Speaker 3 (01:26:03):
I think he's your most tradable asset right now. Unfortunately
for the Cardinals, they've made it clear that they feel
like they have a better chance to win with Jacoby Brissett,
and I don't. I mean because they beat the Cowboys,
like they didn't win any of the games of Kyleer
didn't play in. You know, I get it where it's like, oh,
you look good. I'm like, yeah, but you's still lost.
(01:26:23):
You know, you beat the Cowboys and then you're like, yeah,
Jacoby Brissett is our guy.
Speaker 1 (01:26:29):
So basically.
Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
When he becomes a Raider, oh you yeah, after we you.
Speaker 1 (01:26:34):
Know he is going to become he is going to
become a Raider.
Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
You know that though the Jets are the odds on
betting favorite right now for that, the Jets to the
judge of the Raid. So he's gonna play for two
teams next year. Yeah, I think so, But I would
say after week ten, I know this, the uh, the
decision at the quarterback position by Arizona is one that
doesn't make a lot of sense to me. But that's
not where I was gonna go with this. It doesn't
(01:26:57):
matter because Seattle's defense is legit. That is strong. And
you know Sam Darnold again in this world that is
infatuated with numbers, right, everyone needs to see he hasn't
had a big number game yet. Well, you're not gonna
be wowed by one hundred and seventy eight yards passing
and ab QBR rating of eighty two point three. But
he was ten to twelve. They averaged four point three
(01:27:19):
yards per rush on the ground, and they sacked Jacoby
Brissett five times. They were just beasts today. I think,
Arnie Spaniard, next week's ram Seahawks game is gonna be
the game of the year. I think it's gonna determine
who we look at as the favorite right now in
the NFC. I'm all in on that next week. It's
gonna be awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:27:38):
I can't believe that Seattle's number one after week ten.
I know this, and I know you're listening up there
in San Francisco. You better start thinking about what the
forty nine ers are gonna have to do after this
year when they don't make the playoffs. They got to
make some changes. I don't think you can keep going
what you have right now, especially with the injuries you've had.
You can't pay everybody all the big money out there.
(01:28:00):
You may have to go ahead and make some trades
or some cuts and give rid to some of those
high price athletes you've got on your team because six
and four is not going to cut it and missing
the playoffs right now.
Speaker 3 (01:28:09):
Well, so, again not to try to bring logic into this,
but you're calling for wholesale changes for a team that's
without its starting quarterback. And regardless of how many times
Jason Smith tries to tell me that they're burdened by
the contract of brock Party, I think we're seeing why
they're paying him, because they're a much better team with
Brock Purty than mac Jones.
Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
And then number two, they are a whole linked to
the math here at three mints.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
But that one they're basically a half game out of
the playoffs, and you're talking about them cutting everyone and
moving on that.
Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
Brock Party contract. That is that for this year or
for the upcoming I I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
Know all, I don't know. I've just heard the promo
on thousand times.
Speaker 1 (01:28:50):
I'll tell you what I know after week ten and
once a year, stop, stop, you got to show your
work on this.
Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
They're a half game out of the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:28:57):
They lost today, they've been riddled by injury, and you're like, oh,
everything's got to change there. What are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
Well, specifically bringing up well, how much is Kiddle making?
Because I don't know if I'm going to go ahead
and keep paying him big money, I may have to
make a move and see if anybody's interested in picking
up somebody like him.
Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
So basically, you're saying that the forty nine ers are
going to fix all their ales by dealing away George Kittle.
Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
You gotta clear some of that money out right now.
Everybody could go ahead and make the big money there
at Chris not everybody canting all right.
Speaker 2 (01:29:28):
All right, where'd you want to go? And I asologize, Well.
Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
One thing, one thing I know after week ten that
you were one hundred wrong on and I tried to
insue you and Steve Hartman. I don't want to name names.
Talking about how good the Dallas Cowboys are going to
be this year. I don't know the Cowboys are gonna
come it. I really think there could be this year. Yeah,
that didn't quite work out for them, did it? My
(01:29:52):
friend huh, well again, go back?
Speaker 3 (01:29:54):
He was pre Michael Parson's trade whenever we had any
of these conversations about the Cowboys being good and I
thought they're gonna be good and they're not. I mean,
do you want me to sit here and mock you
for every terrible pick you may and come up.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
With my arm you don't have enough airy. But I
will say this much to me.
Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
The magnification of a week to week league played out today,
and after a week ten, I know this. I'm not
gonna get too low on the bills. I'm not gonna
get too high on Indy surviving. I'm just gonna realize
this is this is the NFL now, and we're having
a hard time adjusting to this in the college game
to where there's more parody than we've seen.
Speaker 6 (01:30:31):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:30:31):
You might end up with a lot of the twelve
teams that made the playoffs last year.
Speaker 2 (01:30:36):
But it's still hard.
Speaker 1 (01:30:39):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:30:39):
You're seeing two loss teams, three loss teams are talking
about in the playoffs in college in the NFL, and
you feel like this week you saw Indiana nearly lose
to Penn State. I almost got Oregon. We're getting upsets
just about every single week in the NFL. This happens
more regularly. I mean there could be a four loss
team that's gonna win the Super Bowl this year, and
maybe even a five loss team that's just the league.
So I'm not gonna get two down the Bills. I'm
(01:31:01):
not gonna get too terribly hyped on the Ravens and
they're run recently. I'm not gonna sit here and try
to destroy the Packers for whatever that was. It happened
to them last week as they get set for Monday
night football, and I'm sure it's that. Not calling for
a complete restructure in San Francisco. I just think it's
a week to week league and this stuff happens.
Speaker 1 (01:31:16):
It's funny because you're like, I'm not gonna get two
down on the Bills. What do you think the fans
in Buffalo are saying right now on sports talk radio.
I can tell you it's not gonna be very nice.
Speaker 3 (01:31:27):
Well, I've never been one to turn to the Bills
fan for saying takes no offense when you jump through
tables and wear zuba pants. I don't know if you're
the I don't know if you're the place. And I'm
going to turn for some sort of balanced, well thought out,
well reasoned tank.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
That's just me. They are diehard, So are they not?
Or what? You know? They're going ballistic? You know, they're like,
how do we lose to the Dolphins? Man, you can't
lose to the Dolphins. We gotta make changes. Everybody needs
to be fired. Everybody needs to be gone.
Speaker 3 (01:31:55):
Well, they also lost of the Falcons on the road
earlier this year too, So it's.
Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
They picked up Wattle, you might as well just to
put them in the Super Bowl. Hod they picked him up?
Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
Why do you keep bringing that up?
Speaker 1 (01:32:06):
I mean because it would have been a phenomenal thing
had they been able to pull it off. It would
have made first of all, what it would have done
for Josh Allen unbelievable, and it would have made them
the favorite, I believe in the AFC. They would have
just cruised. They would have captured the division. It would
have been a big pickup for them.
Speaker 3 (01:32:25):
Mike Garret Follo's report said they were looking for a
package centered on a first round pick and that the
price for dealing within the division would have been higher
because they tried to not only go get Jalen Wattle,
but apparently they were involved in getting Quinn Williams as well.
Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
So Cowboys gave up the first.
Speaker 3 (01:32:42):
Round pick in a second round pick, and Mayasi Smith,
who's actually been decent to go get Quinn Williams, and
obviously Jalen Waddle stays put. So the Dolphins are going
to the super Bowl now because he wasn't in dealt
at least, that's what we've had hammered over our heads.
Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
Stop it. I'm just glad they had a good win today.
Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
Listen, No, don't say stop.
Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
After we had experience that first hour that we experience,
you can't be like, oh now I'm good.
Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
Hey, I'm insane. You're not wrote us off. We didn't,
right back, my friend.
Speaker 3 (01:33:08):
Less's wait, you know, keep all this right here for
next week's show. Okay, make sure we have all of it.
Speaker 2 (01:33:18):
If you didn't they wrote us off, he did right back.
Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
I mean, keep all of this because it's going to
be rich next week when this thing turns all right?
Speaker 2 (01:33:26):
One more from week ten after week ten.
Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
I know this.
Speaker 3 (01:33:28):
While I am going week to week league and I'm
trying not to get too carried away, I have no
idea what's going on with teams like the Carolina Panthers.
I don't know if I've ever been more perplexed by
a franchise in a season where they have impressive wins.
Like listen, I'm not trying to tell you that the
Falcons are good, but when they beat them in week
three thirty to zip, they beat up on the Cowboys,
they beat the Packers last week, and then you back
(01:33:50):
up and went over the Packers on the road by
losing to the Saints.
Speaker 1 (01:33:54):
Oh how horrible was that?
Speaker 3 (01:33:56):
I mean, no Fencebury, but I mean that's kind of gross,
especially without badnes say and said, look, now you've got
to go to Atlanta, who maybe help been on revenge
coming up is at this weekend?
Speaker 2 (01:34:05):
Yeah, this weekend? And then you got the Niners in
the rams.
Speaker 3 (01:34:09):
I mean that went for being a fun o't look
at them five and four now they could be a
five and seventeen maybe five and eight when it's all
said and done.
Speaker 1 (01:34:18):
If you're a Carolina fan and you had a pole
and we put a poll up there and just Carolina
fans could answer this, and I said, do you want
Bryce Shung as your starting quarterback for next year? What
do you think it would be? I'd say more than
fifty percent would say no.
Speaker 2 (01:34:35):
I mean, you talk about not having ever met a
Saints fan.
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
I don't know that I've met many Panther fans in
my life, so I don't know how many people would
actually vote on that pole. But I think you can
do a lot worse than what it appears like he's
going to be at the quarterback position. But man, it's
incredibly inconsistent. I mean, what was he today? I was
trying to pull up the final numbers here, Brightce Young
(01:35:01):
today for the Carolina Panthers. Sad for anyone who's stuck
with him as like your fantasy quarterback. Yeah, seventeen of
twenty five, sacked twice in a pick, and Rico Daddle
didn't run the football all that well.
Speaker 1 (01:35:14):
Eighteen carries fifty.
Speaker 3 (01:35:15):
Three yards, so you lose that running game and any
quarterbacks probably going to struggle. Your boy Tetoroe McMillan looks
pretty good though. He had five for sixty today, five
catches for sixty yards. But you know who started is
not a great draft class. I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
You know who's doing a one to eighty on their
quarterback love is Colin Coward on bow Nicks. And I
told you I didn't think he was all that good.
When people were ready to put him into the Hall
of Fame, and oh my goodness, they got a good
one there. I'm wondering how long, well he'll be the
started quarterback for the rest of the year, but I
(01:35:50):
wondering how long they'll make him the started quarterback for
going forward, because I'm not so sure he's the guy.
Speaker 3 (01:35:56):
I mean, Sean Payton seems pretty set on him, saying
in all the right things. But maybe it's a team
that you watch in the free agent quarterback market this offseason.
If they go get a guy like a mac Jones
right where, Oh no, no, we're bringing him in as
a veteran backup or.
Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
Something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
Yeah, and then next thing, you know, week four, he's
like Daniel Jones starting for the Colts. You see in
a scenario like that, potentially for Dinver next year or
not good or you think they would just move on.
Speaker 1 (01:36:24):
No, I could definitely see that, Yeah, we're rigging them
in just you know, maybe have a little competition in camp.
Competition is always good, you know, something like that, or
he's going to be a backup next to you know,
he's starting in week four or something to that effect.
Speaker 3 (01:36:38):
Could totally see it. Could totally see anything else you
want to add to what you learned after week ten
or what you know after week ten.
Speaker 1 (01:36:44):
No, just it was good football in the morning, close
games afternoon was just a waste. Is that a score
of gobby?
Speaker 2 (01:36:51):
We is that?
Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
Are we changing the rules as account as a score
of gobby? When you have two teams two games, their
final score was the same thing, four two.
Speaker 3 (01:37:01):
I mean if it's never happened before. I don't know
that it had never happened before, though.
Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
But two maybe one game, but I don't know about
two games.
Speaker 3 (01:37:08):
So in other words, you're asking if if two games
finishing at forty four to twenty two is a score
of gami.
Speaker 1 (01:37:14):
Right, or is it just one game? When you say
it's like final score four to two or something, you
score agamia, it's usually just one game.
Speaker 3 (01:37:20):
Yeah, it's but it's happened before. So it's just odd
that you had two games in anything like that. I'll
say this, you did have a score of gami today
in the NFL, Oh did you?
Speaker 1 (01:37:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:37:30):
I'd scored that they never had Texans Jaguars. Can you
believe that they've never had a game finished thirty six
twenty nine?
Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
That's weird. I would have thought for sure that, you know,
especially a seven point spread.
Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
One thing that did kind of catch my eye. And
I don't know if we need to talk about this
or not, but what is the goal of that afternoon
window in the NFL? Is it to have as few
games as possible? Or what I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:37:55):
It's always three games if that's what you're thinking. It's
always like three games.
Speaker 3 (01:37:58):
Oh, I think it's more than three usually, or yeah,
well I get I understand that. But if two of
them are two of them are bad and one of
them is okay, you're just hosed. And I get it
you want to put a marquee game in that window
for Fox and for CBS. But don't you think the
NFL needs to commit to having a little bit more balance?
Is that noon Is that noon Central one Eastern window
(01:38:21):
that big of a deal that you can't shift maybe
two more games that afternoon window. We're only stuck with
three or four games?
Speaker 1 (01:38:28):
No, no, no, no, that's that's that's the that's the prime time.
The open the first window is where you've got to
have at least six or seven games. You can't you
can't chintz on the you know in the opening window. There,
you get, you just got to go ahead and you know,
make a light on the back end, especially bec as
we have Sunday football, Thursday football, Monday night football, somebody's
(01:38:49):
gonna have to miss out.
Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
But but why why would that window be the afternoon
window whenever you have like more towards primetime matchups, so
we can.
Speaker 1 (01:38:59):
All take a nap before we have to work Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (01:39:02):
Well, I mean not everyone has to work on Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (01:39:43):
What do you just sure like that?
Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
Sure you can barely figure out a laptop on you?
Speaker 1 (01:39:48):
No, I could do. I got a new laptop just a.
Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
Couple of weeks ago, right, And how well do you
know it?
Speaker 5 (01:39:54):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:39:54):
Yeah, my wife set it up for me. There you go.
Speaker 2 (01:39:57):
Here's the Patrick to play of the day.
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
In my mind, I'm all.
Speaker 1 (01:40:01):
Between the Hashmarks II formation counter game to Taylor cuts,
the Colts at Berlin put the.
Speaker 3 (01:40:11):
Walk up touchdown by Jonathan Taylor, put this bird brushing
touchdown today and and overtime the Colts send everybody at
Berlin home happy.
Speaker 8 (01:40:23):
Final score Colts thirty one, Falcons twenty five.
Speaker 1 (01:40:27):
I got it.
Speaker 3 (01:40:28):
I don't know if this is just me getting older,
but we're getting into a major time where like the
analysts are crazy people. Do you ever listen to the
Patriots broadcast?
Speaker 1 (01:40:40):
You mean, what's his face that's always chiming it up?
Speaker 2 (01:40:43):
Is it Scott Zolac?
Speaker 1 (01:40:44):
Yeah it is, Yeah Zolac, That's who it is.
Speaker 3 (01:40:46):
I mean, yeah, I felt bad for the Patriots play
by play guy listening to. I mean, he knows football,
he's obviously great. I'm sure Patriot fans love his energy,
but holy smokes, aren't you. There's a point where you're like, dude,
shut up, let's watch game. Let me call the game.
Speaker 1 (01:41:01):
Could you imagine if I was like the color commentator.
Speaker 2 (01:41:04):
You would be for just like that.
Speaker 3 (01:41:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:41:06):
No, for the Arizona Wildcats, they go, what do you
think of? I just went, let's go, let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:41:12):
I guess there's a reason why you're not, but there is.
Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
That's what it's like when I'm listening to these games,
like the Patriots Bucks update. The whole time he's like, Oh,
that's a personal foul. Why did I call that personal foul?
It's a personal foul. They watched the replays like I
guess it really wasn't. It's just I don't know. I mean,
other than I know I'm a homer, but.
Speaker 1 (01:41:30):
Yeah, have to be that's the that's the role of
the color commentators to be the travy person. I had
a cheerleader two for the team.
Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
Okay, then two other quick post game cuts to share
Josh Allen after that embarrassing loss to a mediocre and
less than good Miami Dolphins team, Here's what Josh Allen
had to say.
Speaker 9 (01:41:48):
They wanted it obviously little more than us. I gotta
be better. I'd be better in the protection game, in
the pass game, and the wrong game, all of it.
Anytime you turn it over three times two in the
red zone and really you could count that last one,
you know, driving kind of going into the red zone.
So that's a recipe for disaster.
Speaker 3 (01:42:04):
And here's what Sean McDermott said, Bill's coach about the
lack of a passing game for the Bills.
Speaker 10 (01:42:09):
Well, it is because it's an important part of our offense.
Is that we've We've got a great quarterback and he
wanted to be able to move the ball two dimensionally
and you know, we should be able to move the
ball with Josh through the air. But it can't just
be one one phase of your offense. It's got to
be two working, you know, in concert with one another.
Speaker 1 (01:42:26):
Yeah, I mean, I mean that would be how about
a Hall of Famer type and Josh Allen as your
quarterback that people be knocking each other over to get
that job.
Speaker 3 (01:42:35):
What so, Like I'm looking at this from a numbers
perspective and they're asking him the struggles of the passing game.
Was it just piling on a lot of yards late
or something?
Speaker 1 (01:42:45):
Because I mean he threw for three to zero six
He did, you know the difference the cost of the
game when it was sixteen nothing. Miami late in the
third are late. Yeah, it was late in the third
and they were looking to put it in and he
threw an interception, a bad one, and that kept it
sixty nothing. I'm like, that was the game right there.
If they don't come back and win, it's because he
(01:43:05):
threw that interception. Had they scored there, it would have
been a whole different ballgame. He did not have a
good game, but yes, he did run up a lot
in the second half. There's no doubt about that.
Speaker 2 (01:43:14):
I said, I got one more here.
Speaker 1 (01:43:16):
Have you ever seen Josh Allen pass for three hundred
yards and have no points? He had no points going
into the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
Yeah, I hadn't. I mean, it's just it was wild
how bad it was.
Speaker 3 (01:43:24):
Kyle Shanahan talked about Rock Purty and if he could
have been the backup today.
Speaker 11 (01:43:29):
He could have gone. Definitely. I just decided to hold him.
I'll put him in that situation.
Speaker 3 (01:43:33):
Probably never going to be a hundred percent again this season.
Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
At some point, do you just have to play him
knowing that he's.
Speaker 3 (01:43:38):
Not going to be hundred percent.
Speaker 11 (01:43:39):
Yes, it depends on how close one hundred percent he gets.
Our dilemma or what we're trying not to do is
put him out in the situation we did versus Jacksonville
five weeks ago or six whatever it was. So I
do believe he's closer and further along than what he
was at that time, So hopefully I'll have a chance.
Speaker 3 (01:43:53):
This way, it sounds like they just need I r him,
you know, just let him miss a handful of weeks,
because right I think the reporter actually asked a great question.
Is it just a moment where you accept that brock
Perty's not going to be one hundred percent this year?
He's like, yeah, I guess pretty much.
Speaker 1 (01:44:07):
We do.
Speaker 2 (01:44:07):
We just don't want to put him in a bad situation.
Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
Mac Jones could start for the Jets, for your Raiders,
for the Browns, oh no, I'm not. I'm not going
to say the Titans because you know, obviously they have
a young quarterback. So I bet you could start for
the Texans next year over CJ. Stroud, if you know,
if they wanted to make a move. There's probably a
lot of teams. There's probably like seven or eight teams
(01:44:31):
that would make him the starting quarterback if they had
a chance to get them. I think I'm watching the Cardginals.
Speaker 3 (01:44:36):
Maybe I think I'm watching the different mac Jones and everyone,
because I don't I don't know. I mean, I know
he threw for three hundred yards today, but that was
his best performance in a couple of weeks and they
still got beat by what sixteen to two scores. So
I mean again, you're probably right because we are in
a world of quarterbacks coming back.
Speaker 2 (01:44:54):
I don't know, though.
Speaker 3 (01:44:55):
Kellen Moore seemed pretty happy afterwards with Tyler Shuck.
Speaker 1 (01:45:00):
Tyler took an awesome step today.
Speaker 7 (01:45:01):
I thought made some big time plays, some off schedule plays,
you know, the to the Juwan off schedule, moving within
the pocket. I thought, you say, hung in that pocket
really really well delivered. Can't say enough to you know,
big things about you know ce Juwan, these primer guys,
the plays that they make.
Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
Yeah, that's just for you, Brie. Who coup is that
with the Fox Sports Radio studios with the final update?
What's trending tonight? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (01:45:25):
Bri? What you got for us?
Speaker 6 (01:45:26):
Well, I might as well start with this scene since
we just talked about that how exciting Tyler Schuck did
get his first career win. They defeated the Panthers seventeen
to seven, and they're still better than the Dolphins are,
so just just a heads up there. But the Dolphins
did dominate the Bills thirty to thirteen. Miami ends a
(01:45:48):
seven game losing streak against Buffalo dating back all the
way to twenty twenty two. Josh Allen Still threw three
hundred and six yards and two touchdowns and lost the
ball twice. Way way today the Colts defeated or yesterday
I guess at this point. The Colts devated the Falcons
thirty one to twenty five in an overtime battle, and
Berlin Jonathan Taylor three touchdowns two hundred and forty four
(01:46:11):
rushing yards. He that was his third career two hundred
yard rushing day, and he became the fourth player in
NFL history to have at least two hundred rushing yards
and three rushing touchdowns in a game twice in his career,
joining Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson, and Derrick Henry. So that's
some good company to be in. Chicago edged the Giants
twenty four to twenty Chicago has won six of their
(01:46:33):
last seven. The Charters improved a seven and three on
the season after taking down the Steelers twenty five to ten,
and then in the NBA the thunder actually won thanks
to thirty five points from SGA. They are the first
team to get to ten wins this season. They take
down the Grizzlies one fourteen to one hundred, the Warriors
(01:46:56):
beat the Pacers one fourteen to eighty three, and the
timber Will defeated the Kings one to one seventeen.
Speaker 1 (01:47:04):
This has been a blast, guys, than.
Speaker 2 (01:47:07):
I have a great rest of your week. I had
one more cut for you.
Speaker 3 (01:47:10):
By the way, Uh, Mike McDaniel talked about his salty
leadership this week.
Speaker 12 (01:47:15):
So it starts, you know, with the leadership council setting
the tone. But realistically it was a full week of
preparation that was diligent and quite honestly a little salty. So,
you know, I think it was the attention to detail.
It was the focus on the style of football we
were going to play, not the results that were going
(01:47:36):
to come.
Speaker 3 (01:47:37):
Is that your coach now? Is that your coach? Man?
Speaker 1 (01:47:39):
He was very emotional after the game talking to the
team and rightfully, so I I you know, he's not
a bad guy. He just you know, he just had
a lot of learning to do, as you saw in
that Ravens game. I'm ready to keep him around for
the rest of the year and bring him back another year.
I'm ready to do that one more time, Chris. One game.
Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
That's all it took was one win for you to
feel that way.
Speaker 1 (01:48:00):
Yeah, pretty much. You know what, Chris, it's like when
you're dating and your girlfriend's really mad at you. Is
she gonna be mad at you if you decide to
give her some flowers. That's all it takes is little flowers,
And that's it, right, And that's all that's all it
really takes. The smooth things over.
Speaker 3 (01:48:15):
Not really, not really, it's not the case.
Speaker 1 (01:48:18):
No, that's not the case at all.
Speaker 3 (01:48:20):
All right, let me get some of your tweets to
the show, and then Arnie's picks are gonna take us
home tonight. I did like this from Mustang Mania, he writes,
just for no reason. Those sweet saints unis they wore
today with the white helmet is what a saint should
be wearing, not those drab black junior high looking things
they roll out most of the time nasty about the
(01:48:42):
Saints Uni.
Speaker 1 (01:48:43):
Yeah, I did too. I enjoyed it. They they were sweet.
I like them a lot. I agree with him.
Speaker 3 (01:48:48):
One that James has been on fire tonight, he writes,
what I know after week ten, Arnie's Dolphins are the
seventh seed in the AFC.
Speaker 1 (01:48:57):
Noel, They're not the satan seed. He's saying. By the
end of the sea, they will be the seventh seed.
Yea right. I found this one in the first round.
Speaker 3 (01:49:07):
I found this one to be good. My man, Gunny, Arnie,
you're gonna start taking advice from the former Bama baseball
coach having a friend to make bets for you.
Speaker 2 (01:49:17):
Yeah, what was that about?
Speaker 1 (01:49:18):
What happened? What happened to that? When we were.
Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
Talking about the baseball player the two major league players like, oh,
you should just have his buddy go make all the bets.
Speaker 1 (01:49:27):
Yeah, make the best for you, you know, and just
you know, load up on instead of collecting five and
seven thousand dollars, bet a million dollars on yourself to
go ahead and throw a bitch like.
Speaker 2 (01:49:36):
That, right, Do you want to get busted right away?
Speaker 4 (01:49:39):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:49:39):
You spit it out.
Speaker 2 (01:49:41):
Have you not seen goodfellas?
Speaker 3 (01:49:43):
I mean, you can't go spend all the money, Arnie,
that's the thing, your your idea. It like sounds great,
but they have checks and balances in place now, they're
of all the things they're tracking.
Speaker 2 (01:49:54):
That's what they're tracking.
Speaker 1 (01:49:55):
Well, yea.
Speaker 3 (01:49:55):
And if you all of a sudden are putting a
million dollars on the first pitch.
Speaker 2 (01:49:59):
Is a ball, honey, Come on, dude. And I don't
think they'd even let you do that anymore, considering.
Speaker 1 (01:50:03):
The money that was put on Luis Orties and I
can't remember the other Emmanuel Chase up to that point
was probably like five dollars. Yeah, you're probably right on
that exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:50:14):
I mean, there's very few times when I'll say this.
I know I'm right on that funck because we've seen
guys get in trouble for it. Austin Was writes, Tell
that bloke that's hosting the show with you that I
am a Saints fan and just wait for Week thirteen
when the Miami Sardines face the Saints.
Speaker 1 (01:50:31):
What is from Australia? Yeah, bloke is that what.
Speaker 3 (01:50:34):
He to be fair? Arnie can be right, writes James.
The NFL playoffs can be both bad and good. The
AFC will be awful, the NFC will be great.
Speaker 1 (01:50:44):
Thank you, James. That is kind of a good point.
It could be good and bad. That's true.
Speaker 3 (01:50:49):
Dan Marino had two Hall of Fame head coaches. Sean
McDermott is a five hundred season away from rejoining the
Smashing Pumpkins.
Speaker 2 (01:50:57):
Dude, he does not look like Billy Corgan.
Speaker 3 (01:50:59):
I mean, we're you even getting that from I don't
think they look alike at all. But he's got to
win this year, right, He's got I thought, what are
you doing the thing?
Speaker 1 (01:51:09):
What do you mean by win this year? Like win
the super Bowl or he's gonna lose his job? Is
that what you're saying?
Speaker 2 (01:51:13):
He's got to get to the super Bowl this year.
Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
You're right about that, considering there's Kansas City is probably
not in their way this year, right.
Speaker 3 (01:51:23):
I just I wish I could get on board with
you on this one. I wish I could. I just
can't about what kan Yeah, in Kansas City, but they're
going to be right there.
Speaker 1 (01:51:33):
No. Even if Kansas City makes it though, they're not
going to be in Buffalo's way. I don't think they'll
meet up in unless they both playing like the AFC
Championship game, and both those teams are going to be
on the road from the from the get go.
Speaker 3 (01:51:43):
Well, if neither team wins their division, right, they could
play in the first round. No, not true, they can't. No,
they absolutely could.
Speaker 1 (01:51:57):
No, they can't if neither team wins their division. But
it flows like a six seed right now, Kansas City
would be a seventh seed if they made it. No
way they would play in the first round. Not even close.
Speaker 3 (01:52:08):
Okay, well, then, I mean we're talking about the playoffs
that are still like six weeks, right, I mean, you're
bearing a Chiefs team that is a whole half game
out of the playoffs right now. I guess it's one
full game after the loss. But you know, I'm going
to tell you right now, they could play each other
early in the playoff. They could play each other in
the second round of the playoffs. And you're like, oh,
(01:52:28):
they wouldn't even play each other.
Speaker 1 (01:52:30):
I don't think they play each other to the ABC
championship game.
Speaker 3 (01:52:32):
Well, they can play sooner than that. If again, the
four division winners, you got through one seed that has
to buy so two plays eight, three plays seven, four
plays whatever the number three eight seven.
Speaker 1 (01:52:45):
Right, so they could still.
Speaker 3 (01:52:46):
Play each other, like in the second round of the playoffs,
if not in that first round potentially.
Speaker 2 (01:52:50):
So I'm I don't know why you're just saying no.
Speaker 1 (01:52:53):
They couldn't even do it in the second round either,
Look up, mister playoffs. I'm just hate to knock you
down there. They couldn't even do it in the second round.
Speaker 2 (01:52:59):
How could they not do would in the second round because.
Speaker 1 (01:53:01):
If they both win and there are six and seven seed,
they would play the higher seeds. They wouldn't play each
other until the AFC Championship game and there are only
two teams left standing if they're both six and seconds bracketed, right, yeah,
they would not play each other.
Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
Well, the Chiefs are still gonna win the AFC West,
so that.
Speaker 1 (01:53:19):
Could be a possible, right, that could be a possible.
Speaker 3 (01:53:21):
So, I mean, if you want to, if you want
to fight about the Chiefs beating the Bills, way, you're wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:53:25):
Who are you picking to win that division? Who? The Chiefs?
Speaker 3 (01:53:27):
I picked the Chiefs every single year because it's usually
the best bet. And I think the Broncos are frauds,
and I think the Chargers are gonna suffer without Joe Alt.
Speaker 2 (01:53:37):
They had have seven sacks tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:53:39):
You have seven games to make up one in the
lost column to the Chargers and two in the lost
column to Denver. I don't know if you can do.
Speaker 3 (01:53:45):
That in seven games, when you play the team in
front of you twice.
Speaker 1 (01:53:50):
It's gonna be tough.
Speaker 2 (01:53:52):
Arnie, think about what you just said.
Speaker 3 (01:53:55):
You don't know if they can make up two games
in seven and they play the team in front.
Speaker 1 (01:54:01):
Of them, top man, It's not that easy, big boy.
Speaker 2 (01:54:07):
Have you seen the Broncos play.
Speaker 1 (01:54:09):
The eight and two Broncos?
Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
Right? Have you seen how many how many winning record
teams have they beaten?
Speaker 1 (01:54:16):
I understand that, but you know a lot of teams
wish they were eight and two and they had won
seven in a row.
Speaker 3 (01:54:21):
Would you take eight and two and then you roll
your last like seven games? Like? That's how bad? I
think the Broncos have the potential to be. I mean,
and I'm basing a lot of this on Thursday night,
which is unfair. But if you want to say that
two games to Denver is impossible to make up, I'll
take that bet any day, and twice here on Sunday.
I mean, by the way, have you looked at the
(01:54:44):
Broncos schedule down the stretch.
Speaker 1 (01:54:45):
At Oh what is the Broncos the rest of the way.
Speaker 3 (01:54:47):
I mean they've got to they got Kansas City next week. Yes,
and then they got it. They got they got to
go to the Raiders, which is a loss, and then
they've got to play the Packers, the Jaguars, the great
Jaguars that you talk about, and then they go to
Kansas City and the Chargers in the final two weeks
of the season.
Speaker 1 (01:55:03):
Yeah, you missed the Commanders after the Chiefs game. I know,
I gave them that win. Oh did you wow?
Speaker 3 (01:55:08):
Yeah, So nine and maybe eight the rest of the
season for him, because they're going to lose to Kansas City,
to Vegas, to Green Bay to Jacksonville.
Speaker 1 (01:55:17):
Chan the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (01:55:18):
Yeah, it's going to be a claim.
Speaker 3 (01:55:20):
Well, I mean they got the greatest quarterback ever in
bo Nicks, is what everyone keeps telling them. All Right, listen,
you got us off the track of the tweets. This
is always your fault. When we come back, we'll get
the rest of the best tweets to the show in
Arnie's picks to take us home right here on Fox
Sports Radio. All right, good job tonight, Mary Mac awesome
stuff from Patrick Swieg, our producer. Thanks to Todd Furman
for swinging by brianomiro in for Steve de Seger, who
(01:55:43):
is covering the Chargers win over the Steelers, and the
millions and millions of editors behind the scenes who brought
us all the audio and highlights tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:55:52):
Great job er, buddy, And as.
Speaker 3 (01:55:53):
We had down the home stretch here, there's only one
final little tidbit of business, one final piece of work,
and that's Arnie's pig, So taking away stinking genius.
Speaker 1 (01:56:01):
Didn't have a good week in football, though I did
call it like my Arizona wis. Yeah, you did no
that week. Wow, Well let's get back. I don't start
with the planks, picks, szy, you know any of that
to do something, wow plank right Friday, just let his
(01:56:24):
ps Minnesota plus the twenty four and a half against
Oregon way too many points there. Give me Wisconsin plus
the thirty and a half against Indiana. You know I'm
taking my Oklahoma Sooners plus the seven and a half
on the Rhoda Alabama. Chris, how about our Sooners? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:56:42):
I didn't need that.
Speaker 1 (01:56:43):
You excited about going to Tuscaloosa yeah, of course I am.
Give me usc mindy six and a half against iowall
take UCLA plus the thirty one and a half against
Ohio State. That's crazy. Give me my Wildcats plus the
six and a half against cincinnat In football NFL, I'm
gonna take the Packers minus one and a half against
(01:57:04):
Philadelphia on Monday night and give me the Patriots minus
ten and a half against the Jets. That's the Thursday
night game. Later this week, my Arizona Wildcats will crush
you Chile in basketball, and then next week I'm going
to the Ucon game when we beat the crap out
of them. So there you have my picks, two of them,
as you please. No longer strictly for entertainment purposes only,
(01:57:24):
my friend, you need.
Speaker 3 (01:57:25):
To still tag that it's for entertainment purposes only. You're
getting some hate from people that are going with your picks, and.
Speaker 1 (01:57:31):
They should be. They've been good up till last this
week for grid out, they have not been good. You're
not getting very good. They are very Quit it, Stop it, nobody.
You're talking about what's your record? I don't know overall,
I don't remember that.
Speaker 2 (01:57:46):
How about you want to brag about how good it is.
Speaker 1 (01:57:48):
You don't he's over five hundred except for this week.
Speaker 2 (01:57:51):
It's not except for this week. Stop lying to the people.
Speaker 1 (01:57:54):
Patrick, what's my overall record? Patrick?
Speaker 3 (01:57:57):
He doesn't know.
Speaker 2 (01:57:58):
You change your picks from the show.
Speaker 1 (01:58:02):
I put it on Twitter. He should keep track on that.
Speaker 3 (01:58:05):
A couple of quick tweets before we get out here. Yeah,
you put it on Twitter, but then you change it.
He's like, oh, I didn't have that game.
Speaker 1 (01:58:11):
No, it's whatever I put on Twitter accounts. That's the
official pick?
Speaker 3 (01:58:15):
Is that the official one?
Speaker 1 (01:58:16):
So what you're doing here doesn't either the same picks.
Whatever I pick here, I pick on Twitter.
Speaker 3 (01:58:21):
Mister, nobody says the Ravens will catch Pittsburgh and win
the AFC. North Steelers are mediocre. Rogers is washed like
an old jersey.
Speaker 1 (01:58:29):
He is washed. That it looked good tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:58:31):
Yeah. I like him though, still I think he's still
played well. It's just he's also not everyone can be
Tom Brady when they're at that at the age that
he's at now, and it was like, well, he sucks,
and Michael he's also like forty.
Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
So I mean, you're gonna have your good days and
your bad days.
Speaker 3 (01:58:45):
As we all do when we're forty James, Why do
the Giants keep putting Russell Wilson out there when the
team has no juice when he's the backup? Bring in
Winston for the fans sake. At least, Jameis Winston has
to be the most liked terrible quarterback ever because Saints
fans always like, we need Jameis Winston. And then he's
in the game, You're like, ah.
Speaker 1 (01:59:05):
Yeah, Jackson Dart got hurt, so they had to take
him out of the game. That's why. You know, what's
that Jackson dark got hurt.
Speaker 3 (01:59:11):
Well, I understand that, but he's he's pushing for Jamis
being the backup instead of Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (01:59:18):
Right right. I mean Russell came in, hit a completion
right away, a little screen that broke open, But overall
he didn't have a great game.
Speaker 3 (01:59:26):
Did TUIs save his career with this performance today? I
think this is the first time he's beat the Bills.
It's not, but I mean he may have saved his courreer.
Speaker 1 (01:59:35):
Saved his career, and the coach saved his job. They
both saved everything on this day.
Speaker 3 (01:59:41):
And then Rick Flair, writes Arnie smoked a bunch of
weed before the show because he's selling more ductails than usual?
Were you selling more ductails than usual on the show tonight?
Speaker 1 (01:59:51):
What does that mean?
Speaker 2 (01:59:52):
Ductails lies?
Speaker 1 (01:59:53):
Basically?
Speaker 3 (01:59:54):
What more lies?
Speaker 1 (01:59:56):
Oh gosh, stop it. You wrote my dolphins off, just
didn't write back, That's all okay.
Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
Listen that you've said that same phrase like five times
and you love a person that wrote them off last
week and the week before that, and the week before
that and the week before that. Oh so talk to
the mirror and late night drug tester. Rights one hundred
and fifty dollars is pricey for most, but for a
trophy husbands like Arnie Spaniard, it's pocket change.
Speaker 1 (02:00:22):
Yeah, yeah, go to That's how much our tickets cost
was a buck fifty. I didn't want to spend the
thousand dollars for the for the Lower Bowl.
Speaker 3 (02:00:29):
And oh Jp Wright's the only thing you've got to
say about the chemistry tutor is that he's always devised
a good running game plan. He was the running game
coordinator for the Niners before he got to the Dolphins.
You guys are in the ball pretty well today. A
chain's looking like a stud.
Speaker 1 (02:00:42):
That's true.
Speaker 3 (02:00:42):
You did that kid out of Texas, A and M.
He's cooking for you, all right, Arnie, have a great
week man. Big Ben Mallet is coming up next for
the stinking Genius. I'm Cris Blank. We'll see you guys next.
