Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Great Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Ah, greetings and welcome in another beautiful, resplendent, glorious Sunday. Yeah,
you woke up, you made it. Congratulations and welcome to
another edition Fox Football Sunday. I'm Mike Carmen shot out
of a cannon this morning alongside my guy forty six
years NFL films the Matchup show You hear Them with
Colin Cowherd one pm Eastern on Thursday. This is part

(00:29):
of the network here, it's our guy, Greg co Sell
at Greg coast Cell in the Twitter verse for all
his latest and greatest Greg. Another great slate ahead of
us as we get ready for Week twelve, still trying
to get that separation in some of these divisions.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Mikey gotta be pumped up. It's another Football Sunday. There's Scott.
I'm looking at the schedule. There's some really big games
this weekend, but hey, it's getting to be that time
of year, you know. And then there's some other there's
intrigue in some other games that may not have a
lot to say about the standings, but a little intrigue.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah, some dog games are better than and we've got
one certainly in Las Vegas. We'll talk about coming up
in about twenty minutes from now. We all know what
that's about. When you got an over under thrusting through
the barrier of thirty five, not expecting fireworks. But still
when we look at that Browns Raiders game, one of

(01:18):
the most anticipated games going all the way back to
the NFL Draft, and all sorts of narratives that at
least for one moment will get a little bit of
color along the way. We get Philadelphia and Dallas. More
drama in Philly, but they just keep winning. We got
Tampa Bay, some of the guys are riding to the rescue. Later, Indianapolis,
Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Chicago, you name it. We've got

(01:41):
big time games all across the board. We'll get to
all of them here in the next two hours. Please
to be with you. Honored to be with Greg and
with our team. We got Brandon and Mark making it
sound so pretty here early in the morning. But let's
hit the rewind button here to Thursday. As we do,
we get it started Buffalo and Houston twenty three to nineteen.

(02:02):
I'll get to the significant significance of that in a
moment but you know, it wasn't a massive game offensively,
but Davis Mills doing just enough.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Higgins motions to the left, Mills with Woody marks to
his right in the gun, second and goal at the eight.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Here's the snap from Andrews Davis looking Davis passing to
the ends.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
All cut touchdown, Yostan.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
They's gonna be interference and there's off defensive interference here.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Higgins with the catch.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Is it going to be against the Texans?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Come on, guy, five seconds to go pick the flago.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
That's interference defensive or thirty nine. I couldn't get down.

Speaker 6 (02:39):
Houston Biggas with the catch and score, and the Texans
are back in front of Buffalo with five seconds to.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Go in the second quarter.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
They get that big touchdown late. It was funny, Greg,
because you know, as Jason Smith and I are doing
the show, we're keeping apprized of everything and all the
chatter in the side sidebars of it. And one of
the big things was, well, the betting markets was forty
three and a half. Somehow we still didn't make it
to that total, because at that point it was twenty

(03:08):
to sixteen and we still didn't get there. But Davis
Mills sixteen of thirty, missed some early shots and opportunities,
just fifty three percent for the game, but two touchdowns
and enough offensively, We'll get to the defensive side with
Demiko Ryans in a moment. But winners of three straight
and suddenly thrusting themselves back into that AFC South battle.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, I think the big one was the one a
few weeks ago against Jacksonville, and Mills really was a
big factor in the game. This one obviously was very efficient,
didn't turn the ball over, two long touchdown drives. Obviously
that's very important in a game like that, But it
was a game where the defense was really the biggest factor,
and their defense is really really good. So offensively, you know,

(03:53):
you get into that situation where if you don't turn
it over to you get a driver too, you're in
a perfect position to win games. Now.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah, that is the curiosity though, right because we watched
the early struggles with CJ. Stroud and all of the
chatter right ever since what he did as a rookie
every game seems to be the pendulum in the court
of public opinion of deciding was that just a fluke?
Is he the guy? How hurt. Is he How bad
is the offensive line? Weapons and all of those things,

(04:23):
and we see Davis Mills. Is it efficient?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
No?

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Is the offensive line doing a great job oftentimes?

Speaker 3 (04:29):
No.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I saw a stat that his time for pressures is like,
is under two seconds. Now, I know it's a difference
between what about point eight seconds between the lowest and
the highest in the league thereabout on average, but that
is not an optimal time to really make a decision
about anything. That's a first read and go kind of decision.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
And then look and keep in mind. You know, we
can talk about Davis Mills, and Davis Mills I remember
evaluating him coming out of Stanford. But they were two
for twelve on third down. It wasn't as if this
was an explosive, dominating offensive performance. They gained only about
two hundred and sixty yards of offense average, less than
five yards per play. So this game was really about

(05:12):
their defense. And the thing is, if you get just
enough offense, then it makes it look like, oh, the
offense is good, but you know, it's there's a couple
of teams like this. The Eagles are and we'll get
to them later, but the Eagles are very much the
same way right now. So you know, it wasn't really
about the Texans offense in this game.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
No, but but it begets the large like the conversation
with Stroud getting healthy, right, so that's swirling in the background.
I sat, certainly, I'm not raising Davis Mills to any
level of pedestal. It just with efficient football, you know,
and winning football. But that the defense is the star, right,
It's all yeah, I mean I was easy understudy here.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
There's not a quarterback controversy here, Mike. I mean that's
you know, when Stroud's healthy, he's playing.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I like chaos, so you know, I like to waters.
But let's talk about that defense for a minute. Let's
hear about from them for a second.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
Now. Sprinter Stance almost comes up with a sack, goes down.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
You think he's out of the play.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
We're wrong.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
You'll get the effort chasing it down and eventually catches
up to the big fellow and brings him.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Down one of many sacks on the night. We're talking
eight sacks, twelve hits. The Hurries now the leading scoring
defense in the National Football League. Tamiko Ryans as himself
a front that is just unquestionably dominant from pillar to
post that you know, it's fun to watch that side
of the ball go to work.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Yeah, I mean, obviously they're really good at all three levels.
It starts up front. The names that we always hear
about deservedly so are Hunter and Anderson, but they're very
good inside as well, really good linebackers. Al Sheer never
comes off the field, and then they sort of mix
and match too too, and EJ. Speed, who's a great athlete.

(07:00):
Two great corners. I mean, Lassiter has been really really good.
We all know about Stingley, but Lassiter is a really
good player. And you know, it's funny watching tape last
year when he was a rookie. I came away believing
that Kilan Bullock was one of the best post safeties
in the league, meaning he plays single high, because that's
what they did a ton of in this game, and

(07:21):
he's a really good post safety. I'm not going to
yet put him up saying the Earl Thomas category, but
stylistically he's similar in the way he moves. So they're
really good at all levels. And obviously their D line
just dominated the Bills O line, which was probably a
surprise to many in the game. That it was that

(07:41):
kind of domination. They dominated in the run game, but
it was really the pass protection where that was the
major deal. They just couldn't get the edge players blocked.
And you know, it's funny. I went through that tape
really carefully, and they were not a lot of throws
that were available to Josh Allen. Now, he does have
a tendency to break down in the pocket prematurely. That's

(08:03):
part of his game, that's part of who he is.
But they were not really a lot of throws to
be made. This is you know, we kind of say
this every year, Mike and sure and it's and it
always comes down to Josh Allen. But the Bills are
not an overly talented team and they haven't really been
that way for a number of years.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Yeah, I was curious. There was a report of Brandon
Bean showing up on a radio show in the Greater
Buffalo area kind of talking about personnel and they were
going after the receiving corps. Another game without Dalton Kincaid.
When you look at Shahi, he had two big plays,
one on that hook and lateral, which when those plays
show up, Greg, that would just make me smile. I

(08:45):
did like your Earl Thomas reference, though I usually default
to Ed Reid. We had one of my soccer games
yesterday where a girl came flying up and took out
one of our forwards, like wow, and no call. It's
like that was an Ed Reid hit. What are we doing?

Speaker 7 (08:59):
Right?

Speaker 2 (09:00):
And the referee just kind of looked at me and smiled.
I'm like, all right, I think he actually knew who
Ed Reid was.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Right right, right? Well. Ed Reid is just I mean,
he was so so great. Earl Thomas was for about
three four years as well. And I don't want people
to think I'm saying Bullock is Earl Thomas. No, but
he's a post safety who's very very good. Now that
last interception, you know, I looked at that carefully. Obviously
there was a penalty anyway on the offense, so whatever happened,

(09:25):
if it was good for the offense, wouldn't have mattered.
But I think Alan threw it to the wrong guy.
But still what he expected with more of there is
he expected more to cross the face of Bullock and
more changed his angle of his route after Josh Allen
delivered the football, And that is an absolute no no

(09:46):
for a receiver. Because it was kind of a levels
crosser concept behind a mesh and more angled up the
field after Josh Allen released the ball, So I'm not
saying it would have been complete. Who knows what would
have happened, But no more, you can't do that. You
can't change your route after the quarterback throws the football.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
For Dion Dawkins his seventh false start penalty of the year.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Yeah, which took that from.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
A fourth to one to a fourth and six. Now
for all the folks up with their kids that are
up early with the pancakes and running around on a
Sunday morning because it's a holiday week and they're losing
their minds, the twenty three to nineteen final score, Well,
we get to go to Pixar and Monsters, Inc. Because
that was what was labeled the human contaminant in the

(10:30):
Monster world, like a human sock or whatever else. And
I tell you what, there was a lot of human
contaminant on Josh Allen over the course of Thursday Night,
twenty three, nineteen twenty three, nineteen. There I go full Nerd,
leaving no stone unturned in this pop culture universe here, Greg.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah, it's going to be interesting where the Bills go
from here just because and they'll they'll probably end up
being fine, although their next game obviously we're not going
to talk about that today because it's next weekend. They
go to Pittsburgh and we'll see what the issues are
with their tackles with Dawkins and Spencer Brown, who obviously
got benched on that last drive because he just could

(11:07):
not handle Hunter and Anderson, mostly Anderson, but Hunter at times
as well. You know, like I said, they're not an
overly talented team. Defensively, they don't really have, you know,
big time talent. We know what their receiver position is,
like you know, and so the week before, Josh Allen
was Superman. This week, those plays didn't happen. You can't

(11:27):
count on those plays. I mean that eighteen yard sack
by Anderson where Alan ran around and ran around. There
have been times we've seen him do that and make
unbelievable plays, and then we start to think you can
make those plays every single week. Those are not plays
you can count on, Mike. I think people know.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
That, and that's the hard part. Right watching that game
on Sunday, and it was back to finding the cape
against Tampa and making plays both as a runner and
the thrower. But that scramble play as we watch, it's
the best of times, the worst of times. Yeah, and
literature history, right.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
And the Texans have a really really fast defense, so
you know you're playing against the best defense in the
league and you just can't expect those things, which I
think because Allen has done them so much in his career,
like Mahomes for instance, and again even Mahomes last week
against Denver a really good defense as well. Those plays

(12:21):
didn't happen. So when they don't happen, you need to
have a structured to find offense that you can run
and you can make plays. They don't have to be
fifty yard touchdowns, but you need plays. That's the stay
in offense.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Well, we look at their schedule going forward. You mentioned
the game at Pittsburgh. They've got the Bears later on.
We'll get into that as the show rolls on. Cincinnati
at home, at New England, at Cleveland. So three games
against the AFC North out of their final six, Philadelphia
and then the.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Gym to Philly.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Yeah, they end with two home games because obviously they
have another away game at Pittsburgh and they're going to
be at New England at Cleeve. But by the way,
Cleveland's not an easy team to play against. No, yeah,
I mean to get after you. Yeah, and I you know,
blieve me. I've talked to many offensive coaches through the
years and they will tell you that Jim Schwartz is
one of the toughest defensive coordinators to play against.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
One of those. All you need is some adequate quarterback
play and you find yourself to the winner circle. Can
they do that later on? But it's one of the
games we're previewing coming up next. It's one of the
big storylines of the week and one of our opportunities
to get ahead of the curve. Here on a beautiful
Sunday morning, we're just getting warmed up. It's Fox Football Sunday.

Hey, we're Covino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing. We
never have enough time to get to everything we want
to get.

Speaker 8 (14:15):
To, and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.

Speaker 6 (14:28):
Yeah, you blubber, list lame and me. Well, you know
what it's called over promise. You should be good at
it because you've been over promising women for years.

Speaker 8 (14:34):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing

continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 6 (14:48):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also uncensored by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 8 (14:58):
There you go, over Promise. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen over Promised with
Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or
wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
For my next act, I'm gonna learn to drum just
like that. Hi, Mike Carmon, Welcome back in It's Fox
Football Sunday, Fox Sports Radio. Big day ahead in the
National Football League, some moving day kind of stuff. Remember
four teams on by None of those pesky European games today,
but the Chargers, the Broncos, the Dolphins, and the Commanders

(15:39):
all taking a seat as we get ready for week
twelve and trying to figure out and parse out exactly
what we're looking at some of these teams. Greg there's
still just a giant question mark associated with them, particularly
those that have been plagued by the injury bug. Over
the course of the year, Tampa Bay in particular. But
they'll get a couple of their principals back. But I'd

(16:01):
be remiss if we didn't. Although let's just go get
this out of the way, mark if you would.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
From the thirty five yard line, Sanders on first down,
Nijoku's wide open. Instead he goes deep to Fennin big
play sedor Sanders.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
To Harold Fennen a game of twenty five.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
How about that protection that time.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
By the Cleveland Browns offensive line?

Speaker 2 (16:24):
One of those great questions of it all. How about
that protection? We asked that quite a bit. We'd talk
a lot of offensive line setups, time to throw, et cetera.
But for Shador Sanders four of sixteen had a couple
of early completions, that one later on a twenty five
yarder to fan In the other rookie going up against
these Vegas Raiders. Later, I joked about the over under

(16:46):
just informs the larger expectation of what we'd talk about
in terms of a scoring fest. We'd celebrate the Cleveland defense.
We celebrate Max Crosby on the other side, But for
Shador Sanders, what would constitute success today?

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Greg oh that's a great question. I matter. I don't
think in terms of, you know, wins or losses, because
when I watch his tape this week, I'll just look
at him. You know, one thing I learned early on
Mike is when you evaluate a quarterback, you have to
isolate the quarterback from the team because there's so many
reasons why teams win or lose. And just to say, hey,
guys had a great day because his team won, that

(17:21):
is that has nothing to do with anything. You know,
I think Sanders and and you know, I did him
in great detail when he came out of college. In fact,
I did him for three summers in a row, basically
for three periods in a row, because I kept thinking
he would come out. So I did him his last
year at Jackson State, I did him his first year
at Colorado, and then of course I did him leading

(17:43):
up to this draft. And he's got he's got some talent. Now,
he's an easy natural thrower. Doesn't have higher level arm strength,
but he's an easy thrower. He's a pocket quarterback. He's
he's that's basically who he is at his core. He's
a pocket quarterback. Now, does he have some move ability, Yes,
but I think if he is to become a good

(18:03):
quarterback in the league, it will because it be because
he's efficient from the pocket. So he's one of those
players that needs the rest of the offense to be
effective in order for him to be able to play
at his highest level. So he'll need a good old line,
He'll need a run game to be a factor. He'll
need the past game concepts to work where they can

(18:25):
define the reads and the throws for him pretty cleanly.
He's a little again and maybe this has changed. We
don't know, because he just played last week, which is
not even beginning to be a fair evaluation, so people
shouldn't use that as any meaningful barometer. But he's a
little slow twitch in everything he does. His drop is
a little slow, and I am again, I'm going back to

(18:45):
college now, so those kinds of things need to be
speeded up. And by the way, that's not uncommon for
college quarterbacks once they get to the league because they're
in the gun all the time. There's a lot of
these quick throws. They don't really develop a timing of
a drop where you actually have to drop, plant your
back foot, you know, get your you know, get back there.

(19:06):
So we'll see today. I mean, obviously, he took the
ones all all week, which he I don't think he's
ever done before. This year in Cleveland, the game plan
is probably more geared to what he does well, which
is being a pocket quarterback, getting the ball out theoretically
on time, and he just needs to be quicker in
everything he does. You know, the one thing you did

(19:28):
see last week, again no knock on him in terms
of what he faced, was you could just see everything
was a little slow twitch. But that's the way he
was in college as well.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
Sure, but we'll push the ball downfield. One of those
things you and I have talked about over the course
of the season. For those couple of minutes that we've
traversed down the Cleveland Browns Highway with Dylan Gabriel and
a lot of air yards, there weren't there weren't many
to be seen. Now, we'd be remiss if we didn't
give this a little bit of historical context when it
comes to the Cleveland Browns Shador Sanders since Tim Couch

(19:59):
forty two starting quarterbacks. We had a nice game. We
played Jason Smith and I earlier in the week with
our team. Was this guy a Cleveland starter for a
game or more or not, and some of the names
that we unearthed in that twenty five year period just amazing.
Going back and I'm like, well, I'm thinking about it
in terms of football rookie cards to put him in

(20:21):
that perspective, like, yeah, maybe it's like, no, I know,
I sold a rookie card on the strength of him
being named a starter, like all of those kind of
fun things. But Owen seventeen in their debut, all of
those players since right, in terms of guys in career starts.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Do we know who the last quarterback to win their
first start wars for the Browns?

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Well, I just found that one. Yeah, that just popped
up in my timeline literally to prompt me in down
this road.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
You want to tell you know who it is?

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Yeah, we go back to Georgia when Bill Belichick was
roaming the sidelines.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Wow. So I'm trying to think so that I would
have been in it. Obviously it was in the ninety nineteen,
ninety two to ninety five range. Let me think this
for a sec. Just give me a sec here, Okay,
you know you.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Want to play a little bit thinking music in there, Mark,
what do you got yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
So it's so he was a Georgia quarterback. You came
out of Georgia.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Trying to think back then. How about oh, oh are
we in jeopardy now? Or that's it? How about that
Eric zire maybe nicely done.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
That's my guy. How about a little bit of fanfare
and we have some trumpets for something to celebrate.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
I was just trying to think of the years, that's
all I mean. I you know, I didn't know that
for a fact. I was just trying to think of,
you know, back back then. See see I have a
good memory mic for meetingless stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
No, that's what why we get to do this as
long as we do, Greg, because it's those synapses firing
and making those connection. Because somewhere someone who's a big
Georgia Bulldog fan just went, hell, yeah, Eric Zire back.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
He was a great college quarterback by the way.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Oh, no question about it. Go back to sixty seven
touchdowns against thirty seven picks in an era where you
didn't throw the ball a ton, right, a couple of
touchdowns on the ground.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
Not the way you do now, not the way you
do now.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
For sure, he had two thirty three hundred yard seasons
before he left Georgia.

Speaker 6 (22:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
No, he was a great college quarterback and never you know,
obviously made it in the league really in any meaningful way.
But but no, I remember it. I mean, I just
can't believe how long ago that was. I mean, that's
thirty years ago.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
But that's the scary part of it, right, that's crazy. Oh,
all the way back, Bill Bellijack as their coach and
sire as their starting quarterbacks. So given it a little
bit of a historical context, I mean, we got to
bring up Spurgeon win.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Where where's Kelly Hulk? Where's Kelly hulkme when you need him?

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Nicely done? That's a great Yeah too.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
I believe he didn't he won a playoff game if
I'm not missing, Yes, he did and played exceptionally well.
And I might have been against Pittsburgh if my memory
serves me correctly.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Look it back, we're going all the way back. That's
a nice one. And Pittsburg's quarterback thousand and four was.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
That Pittsburgh's quarterback may have been Tommy Mannox.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah, that's the year before Roethlisberger comes in. So yeah,
there we go. XFL champion Tommy maddox. I'll have yeah, no, yeah, see,
leaving no stone unturned football knowledge at every turn. Here
it's Fox Football Sunday at Great Cosell where you find them.
We're glassed to do it each and every Sunday morning.
I get jacked up when the alarm goes off at

Be safe on the roads. I saw two grizzly accidents

(24:30):
on the way in the grim reminder of Hey, reach
out to your people, say hello, make sure they're good
and getting off to a good start on their Sunday,
and be careful out there. As always, when we look
at this slate, Greg, there's so many great games on
there there are you know. We'll get to filling in
Dallas a little bit later, but I'd be remiss. We
don't have a final injury update on Aaron Rodgers, but

(24:53):
I'd be shocked if he didn't find his way out
there against Chicago. Chicago missing their entire linebacking corps and
members of their secondary as they get ready for this one.
The Year of Living Dangerously for Caleb Williams and for
that Bears offense. I think that's the nicest way to
do it. It also makes people go down the IMDb

(25:13):
to go add more films to their list. But when
we look at this one, this is a game that
I'll grab my popcorn as an interest and observer. I
really don't know how to how to feel. Like Norse games,
I can pick and say, all right, I can see
an obvious side. This one's more a all right, let's
see what we've got. But let's start with Aaron Rodgers
in that offense. Another one quick to throw, quick to

(25:34):
get it out, trying to avoid the hits for sure,
but minimizing that downfield passing game.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Yeah, it's a tough offense to watch. It's the run
game is very weak to week. For the most part,
it's not been very good. Occasionally you get a nice
run by Warren, but it's not really been a very
good offense, although their defense and the numbers might not
reflect it. But I think over the last couple of
weeks they've started to play better and the pass rush
is started to get amped up a little bit. That's

(26:00):
something to look at in this game, clearly against Caleb Williams,
who I think is incrementally improving. I thought last week
he actually played well. His two best throws were dropped,
and he had one big time throw to Burden. I
know you're a Bears guy, you're Chicago guy. He threw
a dig ball to Burden. That was a big time

(26:21):
throw that hit him right between the numbers and he dropped. It.
May have been his best throw of the game. He's
getting better. You know, it's funny it came up kind
of randomly. You mentioned Ben Roethlisberger. Williams is almost showing
that kind of trait in the pocket at times where
he just sheds tacklers and you know what, obviously that's
not the way you live and that's not the way
we're going to evaluate him as a quarterback. But he's

(26:43):
been able to do that the last couple of weeks.
But I think he's starting to play a little better,
getting a better feel for that offense. You know, that's
a difficult offense to learn and it takes time. But
I think overall, you're seeing that he's just naturally improving.
Don't forget he played against a very difficult defense last week,

(27:04):
and while his completion percentage Mike wasn't high, I don't
think that's the best way to evaluate how he played
against a really difficult defense.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Now, as you point out right, it's something that you
know box score watching, as as a lot of folks do.
We certainly you know in the in the moment, you're
trying to contextualize and compartmentalize and give folks a bigger picture.
But as as you do going back through the tape, right,
here's a couple of drops or people say, well, that
guy had two interceptions, Well both of them hit the
guy in the hands and popped up into a defender. Well,

(27:35):
you know things like that, right and.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Right, and and that place speaks even more than that,
because that was a play where Brian Flores, as he
is really good at, changed the picture pre snap, what
Williams saw pre snap, then post snap everything changed. And
that's what Flores does as well as anybody in the league.
And Williams recognized it, stayed within rhythm and timing, and

(27:59):
he just drove the deep dig to Burden, who dropped
the great throw. You know, and there's little plays that
I noticed when I watch tape like, for instance, this
is probably not a play that people are thinking about,
but Loveland had a twenty four yard completion reception on
third and thirteen, and to me, that was a strong
snapshot of William's development for this reason because he took

(28:21):
the checkdown to Loveland in exactly the right time, rather
than waiting in the pocket to force the ball into
deeper his own coverage and then throwing the checkdown late.
Because if you throw the check down late, the defense
rallies and it becomes a five yard gain. When you
throw it on time, based on your reading of the coverage,
there's run after the catch, and Loveland's very good at that.

(28:43):
So he turned, you know, a five or six yard
pass into a twenty four yard play.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Yeah. I love the comparison to Roethlisberger in terms of
that physicality.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
We always talk about quarterbacks, and something I've tried to
preach from my mini Bully pulpit here at Fox Sports
Radio is, you know, let the quarterbacks what makes them special,
that's got to stay part of their game. And right now,
for Caleb Williams, that's one of those differentiators is the
ability to shed tackle. As we talk about it. You know,

(29:13):
Cam Newton beyond looking, you know, with the big hats
and everything else, and some of the hyperbole he comes
up with and everything else. But like when he was
a player, it's like, all right, if I get eight
years of him at that Cam Newton, yeah, and I've won.
For Caleb Williams, it's all a work in progress. And again,
learning all this stuff and playing from play action, under
center and all these things he's never done.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
No, and also keep in mind that those kinds of
plays will probably be fewer as he continues to grow
and develop where the ball will come out. But he's
clearly just getting a little better each week. And again,
as I said, it's not about the numbers for me
when I watch Chap, it's how he's playing, you know,
because numbers are a result of so many things, and

(29:58):
you can't just look at it that sheet and say, oh,
guy played well. No, a guy didn't play well. You
have to watch the plays.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
No, that's it right, going back and seeing exactly what happened.
And as we isolated, I mean just when you talk
about drops, you know, we look at Trevor Lawrence and
his evaluation. He's got he's got they have thirty two drops.
That's an awful lot of drops through, you know, eleven
weeks of a season.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
Right and I always like to study those.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Boosts, that completion percentage five percent right now.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
But I like to you know, it's funny to say that,
just like with interceptions or sacks, I need to see
those plays, Like the two Williams drops I talked about.
He's stuck right between the numbers. Sometimes I'll see people say, oh,
so and so there were eight drops, and then I
watched the plays and I see that the throws warren't
really that good, and to me, they're not drops. Now,
I'm not saying that's true with Trevor Lawrence. I haven't

(30:48):
studied those thirty two plays, but I'm just saying I
always need to see those plays. You know. It's just
like interceptions. It's always easy to look at a stat
sheet and say, oh, Sam Donold two four picks, Well,
let's look at the plays, you know, and same with sacks.
You have to see the plays now.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
As we go through and curiosity certainly moving forward with
the Bears, a big schedule down the stretch here, starting
with this game against Pittsburgh the Jets in Baltimore. I
don't want Obviously it's a two touchdown favorite, but Lamar
Jackson just doesn't look right. And the fact that on
short yardage plays Mark Andrews one of the greatest spin
moves and runs.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
To the end zone.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Yeah, yeah, scene in recent memory. But the fact that
that's where you're going short yardage, you can't run it
with Derrick Henry. That's a squad that I'm just fearful of.
Where Lamar is physically at this time.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
It's hard to know. Yeah, and again, don't forget that.
You know, he's not a big man. It's not like
he's Josh Allen. He's not Caleb Williams, who's not tall,
but he's thirty, you know, with the body type. Obviously
Amar is not like that. It's too small a sample
since he came back to make any determination as to hey,
he's not Lamar Jackson anymore. We need to see him
play more. The bottom line is they're winning. It's it's

(32:00):
a bad division. They could easily win this division. Obviously
they have the Jets today. Hey, it's an NFL game,
you never know. But still I'd be really leary of
making any definitive judgment about where Lamar Jackson really stands
right now. I think we need to see him play more.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
A little bit of curiosity, right It's just one of
those stories swirling in the background. But again, heavy favorites
against Tarad Taylor. Don't call him Tyrod, as he reminded
us a couple of years ago. As we go further
down the slate, let's give a quick minute here, because
you know we're looking at time down and distance. We
got a lot of time left in the show to
give to the big matchups. Kirk Cousins back for Atlanta,

(32:40):
Penis Junior out, Take London out, Tyler Schuck on the
other side, I mean Captain Kirk here trying to extend
the run in a big NFC South battle.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Yeah, it's gonna be to me. This game is part
of a larger situation now for the Falcons, because you know,
there was a time maybe three four or five weeks
ago or even going into the season, where they probably
felt they had their quarterback situation totally solved for the
next eight ten years. Obviously, they got ripped when they
drafted Pennix. They felt real good about it and we thought, hey,

(33:12):
now they got their quarterback. Well, now you're dealing with
a guy that's been injured. I think he's had what
three acls now, so you just wonder where he stands
because if he has reconstructive surgery, he may not even
be ready at the beginning of next season. So now
you have to wonder where they as an organization see
themselves at the quarterback position. Do they have to in

(33:33):
some ways start from scratch because now Michael Pennix, who
I think could develop into a good player, you know,
you just don't know. So to me, I'm trying. I'm
looking at this more from thirty thousand feet as opposed
to their matchup with the Saints.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Absolutely the difficult part to really fill this in their
first round pick goes to the Rams.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Yeah, so the.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Help isn't eminent. Now we talk about the quarterback class
and then something we'll do as we get towards the
end of our run and the Super Bowl and looking
ahead and everything else what the collegiate class is. But
currently right now, a number of guys that were expected
to be leaders have actually been benched or gotten their
coaches fired.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
So a lot of hand ranking, you know, and the
other factor too that plays into some of this is
the nil money because some of these guys and who knows,
I'm not look, I have no inside information. They probably
don't even know at this point, but some guys who
clearly should play more football. And again, not to get
into a lengthy discussion now, because I haven't seen these
guys on tape yet other than TV, and I don't

(34:34):
make definitive evaluations until I watch guys on tape and
quarterbacks I usually watch seven, eight nine games. I really
go a little nuts, Mike when it comes to the quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Greatness that you do a great Joe cell and as
part of the Matchup show and what You Do, you
and Ross Tuck are one of the best listens of
the week.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
Well, I appreciate that, thank you, But I mean someone
like Ty Simpson. I like what I see on TV.
But he's a one year starter, you know. And again,
he may choose to come out and maybe because of
his traits which look pretty good just on TV, he
may end up being a top five pick. But he's
going to play thirteen or fourteen games in college football.
That's going to be the extent of his starting And
my guess is at Alabama, where I'm sure they have

(35:15):
a nice little cash cow working somewhere. Someone might say,
we'll give the guy three million dollars to come back.
So you never know, you know how these guys are
going to play out, you know, same with Dante Moore.
I'm sure Oregon has a few bucks somewhere, you know,
under someone's mattress that if they really want him to
come back, they could give him a lot of money.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Yeah, it's a much different landscape and one. Yeah, it
certainly informs the decision making quarterbacks at the top, but
certainly the trickle down effect as we go position to
position at Greg go salary, Find Greg, find me over
at Swollen Dome. It's Fox Football Sunday. Here Fox Sports
Radio from the iHeart Fox Sports Radio Studios. Coming out next.

(35:54):
We'll talk about that NFC East Big Battle. Forty seven
and a half is the total k us on both sides.
A couple of guys missing curfew and refuting claims of
delinquency on the other side. Hey, it's just business as usual, Philly, Dallas. Next.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
Ah, that's a beautiful song to bring us into this
next fight night kind of game. It's week twelve of
the year NFL season. Welcome back in It's Fox Football Sunday.
Here Fox Sports Radio by Carmen alongside Greg Cosel from
the Fox Sports Radio Studios. Greg, we get the Eagles
and the Cowboys. Later on, I think Jalen Carter will

(36:45):
not be going on the full loop of this whole
spitting epidemic we've got going on in the National Football League.
They are a little better than field goal favorites. On
the Road of Dallas. There was a great clip from
an elementary school in Philadelphia where as part of their
out they put Cowboys players faces on giant bop bags.

(37:05):
It might but you know, well, you.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
Know, hey, I'm I'm in the Philadelphia area. I know
all about that. You know, it's Cowboy Week that's been
going on for a long time.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Yeah, it was one of the big clips. Is like,
it's well, but if it's getting them to punch out
some aggressions and some of their energy so they can
go back and do some quality math learning, then we've
all won.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Well, you know, it's funny. This is a game where,
of course everybody's been talking about the Eagles offense, But
let me flip the script for a minute here, because
I'm actually a little more fascinated from an X and
O perspective with the other side of the ball. For
this reason, Number one, the Cowboys do have a very
good offense, and I think much of this will come
down to their offensive line. But still they have George
Pickens and Cdee Lamb, and Pickens lines up in what

(37:49):
we call the boundary X, meaning he he lines up
as the single receiver to the short side of the field.
He's done that more than any wide receiver in the
National Football League this year in their formations where he's
lined up as the single receiver to the short side
of the field. The boundary side now the boundary corner
for the Eagles is Quinyon Mitchell. That to me is

(38:11):
one of the most intriguing one on one matchups of
this weekend because even though the Eagles are not a
pure man to man coverage team, they very often, even
in their zone concepts, allow Mitchell to essentially play zero
man with no help even when they're too deep coverage.
You know, two safeties, the safety to that side, the

(38:32):
boundary safety who is almost always read blanket ship. He's
not helping at all. He's focused inside. So you're getting
Mitchell playing in a sense pure man coverage. And I
think the Mitchell Pickens matchup is a fascinating one to
watch this weekend.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
One of those then to watch working against the rest
of that secondary. As you say, Greg, when we look
at Philadelphia giving up just twenty point one points, Yeah,
game overall, that's good enough. I think that's eighth. If
my math and my ability to count while looking at
a computer screen works. Sometimes they don't give me the.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
Right Well, they do have calculators and computers these days,
so you can figure that out.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
Well, it's more just it doesn't give me the one
through thirty two column. I mean, just bad gooey interface
on the page that I currently have loaded. But all
of that to say, I mean they're stingy, and it's
a much different look than when we saw the first
and again with that defensive line.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
And their defense is only allowing I think a fifty
five to fifty six percent completion percentage against them, which
I think is at the top of the league. And
Nikobe Dean. He's since he's been back, he's been a
dominant force at linebacker. He's essentially taken over the starting
spot which was his obviously from the rookie jahat Campbell.
There's multiple reasons for that, but Dean is a very

(39:47):
good blitcher. We've seen that this is a really, really
good defense. They're playing at a really high level right now.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Last time the Cowboys lost at home against an NFC
East team with a healthy Dak Prescotte teen November nineteenth
against the Eagles. That's eighteen straight wins twenty seventeen.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Wow, I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
How crazy is that? There's one of that is nuts,
little factoids and nuggets that well, I don't sleep Greg
In case you didn't catch.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
That, was there Exire in the stands for that one?

Speaker 1 (40:18):
He there?

Speaker 2 (40:20):
He skit twenty two years later and there he is.
Now that would be funny. Hey, there's Sire, remember him there.
That's the answer to the trivia question. You didn't know
you need it all.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
Weekly right right right as we rolled through.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
But Lane Johnson not there and still you know the
AJ Brown comments and it's like, well, I guess Saquan
isn't the same either like they yeah, has fun bulletin
board material.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
And by the way, the Cowboys defense, while it hasn't
been good overall, it's better. They have better players. The
interior of their d line is now pretty good with
an excellent rotation with Quinn Williams Clark a Diggy Zua.
That's a pretty good trio right there. So they're getting
a little bit. The numbers may not reflect it just yet,
and I'm certainly not saying they're real good and could

(41:05):
but they are getting better.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Certainly a step up in class from the Raiders. We'll
see that one later on today. He's Greg got Mike
coming up next. Indian case Ah greedies, welcome in hour
two of the program, having a blast with you as
we get you set week twelve in your National Football
League Season one game in the books. Again, I gave
you all those Disney parents, all right and Disney adults, uh,

(41:28):
the fun of the twenty three to nineteen with that
Houston Buffalo game that's in the books. We've got the Chargers, Broncos, Dolphins,
and Commanders all celebrating a bye, all hoping for many
happy returns. Hyperbaric chambers quick healing products whatever they can
find to get ready for the stretch run, particularly the
Chargers and that offensive line trying to get themselves right

(41:51):
to keep Justin Herbert upright and pacing towards a playoff
berth in this back half of the season. I'm Mike
Garment alongside me my guy, Greg co self six years
NFL films the NFL Matchup Show. You can check out
on Twitter a bunch of the clips for what Greg
does during the week. Hear him every week Thursdays, one
pm Eastern with Colin Coward. Colin dubs at the best

(42:12):
fifteen minutes that he gets each week. I get him
for two hours.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Buddy, let's go, let's talk some more ball. We got
another hour to go.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Yeah, well, he got a lot to cover over this
next hour, so let's get after it. We got Kansas
City in Indianapolis, one of the games of the day.
Kansas City like a boxer reeling five losses by a
total of twenty two points and then going through you
know the numbers and again take them all with a
grain of salt depending on who's doing the apocus work

(42:42):
Greg in terms of accuracy, down, distance, pressures, whatever. But
by one account, this is Pro Football Reference. You got
Patrick Mahomes with the fourth most pressures. We've obviously seen
him use the escape route with his legs a bunch
this year, but trying to get things on track a
very weird, difficult watch at times. I mean, in great drama,

(43:06):
better than anything I've seen in a movie theater in
a while, that game against Denver.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Yeah, and pressure is another thing, you know, we talked about,
you know, in the last hour, things that I need
to see myself when I watch tape. And pressure is
another one of those things. You know, I've learned from
quarterback guys smarter than I am what pressure is and
isn't at the NFL level, So I always leave that
stat I take that with a grain of salt. But
you know, it's funny. This is a team that offensively
the last couple of years has not really scored a

(43:32):
ton of points, you know, by NFL standards, and their
defense the last couple of years has been phenomenal. This year,
the defense has not been quite as good. Third down
hasn't been quite as good. So I think some of
the concerns with the offense are a little more magnified.
You know, you said it yourself, Mahomes did not look
comfortable versus the Broncos. There were too many dropbacks where

(43:53):
he seemed uncertain and hesitant in the pocket. And when
that happens and the special outside of structure plays don't happen.
We spoke about this with Josh Allen earlier. Then the
lack of timing and rhythm in the passing game becomes
more pronounced, and I think you see that a lot
with their offense. You know, when he can't make those
special plays which were so used to seeing because he's

(44:14):
done it for such a long period of time and
won Super Bowls doing it, we just expect that those
plays might happen every single week. So it's kind of
an interesting offense right now. There's not a lot of structure,
there's not a lot of rhythm to it. Now. Having
said that, can Mahomes be special on any play any week?
Of course he can well.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
And that's the thing. Right We're looking at a little
bit of a different look for this Indianapolis defense, bringing
in Sauce Gardner, making some changes. Lou Atiumo, a guy
who was well, let's call it what it was, he
was scapegoated out of Cincinnati, didn't exactly give him great
personal and personnel to work with last year here scheming
it up, and they present a huge test coming out

(44:56):
of a bye week Tailor. We've talked and Nauseam about
his heroics in the first half of the season. Already
fifteen rushing touchdowns and just brilliance week to week. And
for Daniel Jones, folks still waiting for the other shoe
to drop, not the explosive numbers the last couple of
weeks ahead of the bye, but they're still sitting atop

(45:18):
the division and moving forward with a pretty good arsenal
of receivers.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
Jones still has the most first down dropbacks and most
first down passing yards of any quarterback in the league,
which might surprise some people given that you know it's
Jonathan Taylor is probably seen as the foundation of the offense.
Just going back to their defense, you mentioned lew and Rum.
I think this week from what I read, aren't they

(45:45):
getting Shavarius wardback?

Speaker 2 (45:47):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (45:48):
Yes, so, I mean he'll play corner opposite Garter. That's
not a bad corner combination, by the way, and I
love their safety combination. Nick Cross has really come on
as a good player. Cam Binam's a really solid player.
Now obviously there's no Buckner DeForrest Buckner who's a really
good player. So that side of the ball is going
to be really really interesting to me in this game because,

(46:10):
as we said, the Chiefs have not really been an
explosive offense. Now, well, I found fascinating about watching the
Chiefs last week against Denver, and you may remember this
their first couple of series. They really tried to push
it down the field. He threw two deep balls to Worthy.
I think he threw another deep ball as well. I
forget who it was. It was to Thornton and actually
Mahomes over threw Thornton and Worthy. The Worthy one on

(46:34):
the first possession would have been a touchdown for sixty
one yards. So you know he's missed a few of
those throws, and you know, when you're not scoring a lot,
those plays become magnified.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
Yeah, that pressure in the always on the play by play,
Greg my favorite. He'd like to have that one back.
It's yes, of course, yeah, his for the sixty one
yard touchdown. If he'd had two degree higher arc, it
might have come down. Probably. No, I mean, what are
you gonna do? That is the pace and play I mean,

(47:04):
we look at Mahomes eight yards intended air yards per
pass attempt, curious, trying to get that deep threat going,
maybe to open things up for the old, steady, reliable
Kelsey over the middle, and a lot of talk about
him and his future and all of that. Plenty of
football to be played, meaningful game, huge game for them

(47:25):
today as they try to see ut because last week,
I mean, look, we had all the stats, the data,
and a reminder that history is sometimes just that history,
and these games are in the balance of three to
six points most weeks.

Speaker 3 (47:39):
Now. Just getting back to the point though, the Chiefs
have really not shown and it's very surprising given Andy Reid,
who obviously is one of the best and has done
it for a long time, Mike, but they've not really
shown any kind of consistent, structured intermediate passing game all season.
You can go back to even a year or so ago.
I mean, Mahomes is closer to the bottom in the league,
bottom of the league, and throws twelve to twenty two

(48:01):
yards in the air from the line of scrimmage. They
don't really work the intermediate pass game very much, and
that always surprises me when I see talented quarterbacks, and
obviously we know homes is pretty damn talent when you
don't see that in an offense very much.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
One of the other storylines flowing from that game. Early
today we get the new England Patriots in their eight
game winning streak. Yeah, when we talk about Drake May
and what he's been able to do with Andre Stevenson
expected back to pair with Anderson, fantasy owners or wringing
their hands already wondering how that workload split goes. But
for Cincinnati, we don't get Joe Burrow this week. I

(48:38):
was all excited wishing and hoping. I mean, y already
are without Jamar Chase because he was a dope and
spit on a guy. Yeah, yeah, well I gotta call
what it is.

Speaker 3 (48:47):
And when we saw that Burrow took first team reps
on Wednesday and Thursday, I think that, you know, I
was excited too. I think the fielding was, Hey, this
guy's playing this week, but obviously they want to wait
another week. I think they play Thursday on Thanksgiving this
coming week, so my guess is he'll play then. But
it's Flaco again. But you know, again, just to flip
the script at all, what's never talked about because of

(49:09):
Drake May, and deservedly so, Drake May should be spoken about.
But that defense in New England is you know, they
may not have the household names you think of when
you think, oh, who's on the Patriots defense, but they
play really well together. They're really good upfront with stunts
and passing situations. They do have a really good corner
in Gonzalez, and they've gotten really good play. Something Mike

(49:32):
Rabel always does is he always gets guys free agent
type guys, guys like that who you never heard of.
Like I had to look up Elijah Ponder and I
found out he's a free agent rookie from cal Poly
San Louis Obispo, you know, and he's just a really
nice player. And that's what Rabel does with a lot
of these guys. Spallane's a really good player. The rookie

(49:54):
Woodson its safety is a good player. They're a fun
defense to watch well.

Speaker 2 (49:59):
And I love the big guys up front. Eventually, as
I move into a new facility in a bigger space,
eventually my wall of mean for all those defensive tackles
that I want to celebrate. Everybody else can have the
Glambour boys. I'm built like a fire plug Greg for
seven and wide, and.

Speaker 3 (50:16):
I know Milton Williams is out for a couple more weeks,
but he's played really really well for them. But Barmore
is a good player. They just they have a bunch
of guys that clearly, you know, it almost goes back
to the Belichick system, because that's where Rabel comes from,
of just do your job, and these guys do their job,
they do it well.

Speaker 2 (50:34):
Now, one of the teams we were watching last week
nearly pulled off a win despite four interceptions from Sam
Donald and obviously the narrative all week of same old
Sam twenty giveaways thus far for Seattle, that margin of
victory and margin of error certainly there we look at
they got the Titans, so decided favorites here. But Sam Donald,

(50:57):
when you went back and watched that tape, anything stand
down differently from several weeks back.

Speaker 3 (51:04):
You know, obviously through the four picks, I think that
you know, a couple of them were bad, you know,
And I watched picks. The way I go about watching
an interception is I try to see it from the
quarterbacks perspective. Why did he turn that loose, and I
think in Darnold's case, the last one was terrible. That
was the one by Williams. That was terrible where he

(51:25):
just ran up in the pocket and threw you know
that he should never have done. But the other ones, actually,
the first one he drifted to his left and he
was very late on our route. I don't think that
he had any recognition of Kitchens being there, the robber
in that coverage, and I think he got caught there.
But the other two, and I'm not going to sit

(51:47):
here and break them down because people can't see it,
But the other two I could totally understand why he
made the throws. And they were resulted in interceptions, and
they looked bad. So as soon as they look bad
when you're watching it on TV show and how it goes,
they look bad. So therefore it's a stupid throw. What
the hell is he doing? But like I said, I
try to understand what was in his mind why he
turned it loose. And those middle two interceptions, the one

(52:10):
by Durant on the sideline and the one by Kitchens
in the middle of the field, I just tried to,
you know, get a feel for why he did it.
And I can understand why he made those throws.

Speaker 2 (52:21):
So we'll watch them later on today. Still, I mean,
you talk about the strength of a roster and what
they've got cooking.

Speaker 3 (52:28):
Their defense is good, by the way, their defense is
really good.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
Guys, we've watched the Rams roll up on everybody, and
that one they still needed that big interception late to
close it out. Yeah, so so marg margin of margin
of error, margin of victory. As we know in the NFL,
it's waffer thin. There you go. There's a many Python reference.

Speaker 3 (52:49):
Yeah, there you go. But it's true. It's absolutely true.
And that's why you know. Look, you know me well
enough now to know that I don't make these bold
pronouncements about teams because you just never know. In the NFL.

Speaker 2 (52:59):
Yeah, the scheme, there's so much going on play to play,
all right, we still have some heavyweight games to go.
Let's get one last one here that on the surface
doesn't doesn't play out that way, but certainly some concerns.
I think if you're looking at the Lions overall, you've
got the Giants coming in ten point favorites. No Jackson darts,
it'll be Jameis Winston again. And for the history of

(53:22):
Dan Campbell a graphic you'll see a million times today
coming off of losses thirteen to zero against the spread
the last three years, they don't. That goes all the
way back to November of twenty twenty two. But Sam
Laporta being out for the year, yeah, back injury really
changes the complexion of this offense as they move forward.
I would expect a lot of the run game today,
both Gibbs and Montgomery to feast. But for Jared Goff,

(53:46):
what are you seeing through eleven weeks?

Speaker 3 (53:48):
Yeah, I think Jared got for the most part, has
played well. Obviously, when they played Philly and Philly that
was a tough one. That's a really difficult defense to
play against, and in Philly it's even harder. But he's
played well for the most part this season. It'll be
interesting to see with Laporta out, if they cut back
on their use of twelve personnel playing with two tight ends.

(54:09):
They do have Ross Dwelly who's been in the league,
but it's certainly not the same as having Laporta and Right,
then having Right and Dwelly, So we'll see if they
end up playing a lot more out of eleven personnel.
They're a big play action pass team with goff under center.
That's the Ben Johnson approach that's been maintained. In fact,
when Campbell took over the play calling and they won

(54:30):
the game, was it against Washington. I think the first
game they were heavy, heavy play action under center relative
to what they'd done under Johnny Morton. So you know,
I would assume that something we'll see more of. But
I would think they'd want to get their run game
back on track a little bit, you know, with Gibbs
in Montgomery.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
Big stretch run to come, a lot of indoor games
to go except for that Week eighteen against Chicago, so
opportunity Defeast to just close the loop. Cincinnati plays Baltimore
as part of your Thanksgiving Day triple header, so a
little divisional action there. So I would suspect that, barring
a huge setback, we'll get our Joe Burrow on Thursday

(55:10):
against Lamar Jackson and company. So as we roll forward,
we still got Tampa and the Rams and a couple
of other games that we need to cycle through some
bigger picture talking for the National Football League. But coming
up next, we'll look to Monday night at an upstart
squad trying to raise some caine in the NFC South,

(55:30):

(56:52):
out there, be smart, be a good teammate out there
and on the roadways and get to whur you're going
safely so you can watch some great football and hell,
even those dog games like we talked about the Browns
and Raiders with some great interests. As we go forward,
I'm my garbing alongside Greg Gosell. We're having a blast
with you. A couple of big games still to go

(57:14):
on the slate as we get ready for everything Week twelve.
Reminder again the Chargers, Broncos, Dolphins, and Commanders are off
this week. The year of living dangerously for Denver will
be put on pause for a week. The resurgence of
that Miami squad left for dead just several weeks ago.
Mike McDaniel getting bear hugged by former players and people

(57:36):
going wait, maybe they do like him in the locker room.

Speaker 3 (57:38):
Greg, Well, you gotta know, Mike McDaniel. I know it.
I've been around him. He's a very good guy. He's
very different kind of guy, which I think people know
just from seeing his press conferences. But he's incredibly intelligent
when it comes to offensive football. And you know, we've
talked about Miami. They don't play this week. They can
only play a certain kind of way because of the quarterback,

(58:00):
and when that works and the run game works, that
is a difficult offense to play. I guarantee no one
wants to play against that offense because they also have
two guys with tremendous speed in eight chain, because you
could easily make the argument that each Chane and Gibbs
are the two fastest backs in the league. And then
you got Waddle. So you know it's it's it presents

(58:22):
a problem. Now there are some weeks it looks bad
and we're not going to get into that now because
they don't play sure, but when it looks good, it's
a tough offense to defend.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
Just giving it it's thirty seconds. Because coming out of
their bye week, they've got New Orleans, the Jets, the Steelers,
and the Bengals. Wow, you'll still the create some chaos here.
On the back end of the schedule.

Speaker 3 (58:43):
Again, what is their record now?

Speaker 2 (58:45):
They are four and seven, you.

Speaker 3 (58:48):
Know, and again there's so much that's going to go
on with the playoffs. You know, you can't. I mean
obviously were at the stage where now everybody says, well,
they'd be in the playoffs if it starts today or
they're out of them. But you know, there's so much
there's so much more football to go, obviously, that's.

Speaker 2 (59:01):
The beauty of it. Six more weeks up for them,
seven overall, and then we get into our playoffs and
our run towards Santa Clara, all fun stuff. Santa Clara
home of the San Francisco forty nine ers. So that's
where we had next It's Monday night football. And last week, yeah,
we had the happy returns of one Brock party shotgun
snap five man rush for Party, steps up into the pocket,

(59:23):
throws a deep ball downfield, Kettle makes the catch over
the shoulder near pylon into the end zone, touchdown for
about fIF cam call. There you go, a little juice
to the call. As we look at the forty nine
ers last week resounding win over Arizona forty one twenty

(59:44):
two in Brock parties return two hundred passing yards, more
effectiveness as a runner and receiver for Christian McCaffrey as
we've expected, but the big explosive there to kindle a
great ball down the sideline.

Speaker 3 (59:56):
Yeah, and that was one of my favorite plays because
that was you heard the announce to say a can call.
That means that they checked and you could see him
check to based on what he saw. And what he
saw was he saw a single high safety coverage. So
what he did is he spread the formation in what
we call a two by two set with two receivers
on each side, obviously, and McCaffrey was offset to the

(01:00:19):
same side as Kittle, and then they ran what we
call mirrored routes. They ran the same routes on each side,
and what they ran on each side was a hitch
on the outside and a fade on the inside. And
actually McCaffrey was not on the same side as Kittle,
but that's irrelevant here. And he ran one of the

(01:00:40):
fades and Kittle ran the other, and it was just
it was beautiful. It's one of the reasons I love
watching Tate Mike, you know, because you see stuff like that.
I called my guys in from the matchup show and say, hey,
take a look at this, and it said, you know
those are the plays I love. You know, you see
it all kind of happened right in front of you,
and Purdy just orchestrated that beautifully.

Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
One of my fas throws of the week, no question
about it. Now they got a date against yeah Carolina Panthers.
The I called them the plucky Carolina Panthers, sitting at
six and five big with a heroic effort from Bryce
Young a week ago.

Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
Who would have thought that, Mike, that they're six and five?
Would you? Was that on your bingo card to start
the season? No?

Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
Five and two over their last seven. It was one
of those you bring in McMillan, I like Chewba Hubbard,
but obviously you've gotten some great returns from Rico Dowdell, Yeah,
who's been just magnificent. And Ted McMillan, if he wasn't
a Carolina Panther would be getting a lot more attention.

Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
Without question. And you know it's funny. I obviously did
his tape in great detail when he came out this year,
and while I'm not gonna put him into justin Jefferson category,
you know, because Jefferson is just one of those special guys.
I fell after I watched his college tape that he
was not just a big position receiver because a lot
of people immediately made the comparison with Drake London. And

(01:01:57):
Drake London is a very nice player. But to me,
on the spectrum of movement for taller receivers that have
length and longer legs, I thought McMillan was closer on
the spectrum to a Jefferson than a London. And like
I said, he's not Jefferson. So I don't want people
hearing this to think, oh, he's things. He's Jefferson, but
he's I really liked him, and I think you're seeing that.

(01:02:19):
I agree with you. But one of the things that
they do a lot of Bryce Young has had the
most dropbacks this year in empty sets, and that can
be good and bad. One reason you do it is
because the ball has to come out, and Young has
to get the ball out. He's not a sit in
the pocket guy. He can't sit on his back foot

(01:02:40):
and drive the football as the bodies get closer to
him because of his size. So the key is you
got to get it out with the other factor, although
it will not be a factor against the Niners, is
teams that do like to blitz. You can always get
a free runner when there's only five pass protectors, but
the Niners are not necessarily that kind of defense. I'm
really curious to see how Robert Solid goes about defending Young.

(01:03:04):
My guess is, I feel pretty confident saying that Young's
probably not gonna throw for four forty eight again this week.

Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
That is probably a nice Big Bowl proclamation. We should
put that up as a hot take, say six point
four intended air yards per throw. Again, we take it
all with a grain of salt, but that's what we're
looking at here to try to contextualize it as we
go through to your point, get rid of the ball
quick and early fifty four catches nearly seven hundred and

(01:03:32):
fifty yards for McMillan. I think, you know, where he
went to college might have played a factor a little
bit in terms of the hype machine as well. You know,
not a lot of Arizona games. No, you're finding their
way into prime time for folks.

Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
Well, you know, it's funny he's playing against Last week,
he played against Atlanta, and Atlanta is high percent man coverage,
high percent pressure, and they blitzed a lot last week
against Young and they sacked him five times when they blitz.
That's what I'm talking about. You know, when you play
empty you can there's sacks that come from that. The
Niners are not normally like that. Now, every game is different.

(01:04:06):
You never know, you know. That's why I hate to say, hey,
here's what we're going to see from the Niners for sure,
because we don't know that, you know, but normally they're
not a high percentage blitz defense.

Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
But recognizing the potential opportunity here against that front and
the way young ass to operate, like right now, you're
trying to stack wins because you were in a crowded division.
So by any means necessary for Robert Sala and company
here in a big home date that's the Monday night
football game, sitting near to fifty the over under, expecting
some fireworks there, but Kittle springing out and getting out

(01:04:40):
in the past pass routes even more frequently, Greg a
huge thing for this forty nine Ers offense. The return
of Ricky Piersoll hasn't been deployed fully. We don't need
to go down the whole Brandon Ayuk highway just spice
to say he ain't coming back. So now you're right
right looking at building for here for your stretch run.

Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
The larger point about their past game is they don't
structure their pass game around we have to get the
ball to this guy. So that's why I'm sure for
fantasy there's a lot of people that, oh, how come
they don't do this with George Kittle every week? He
caught two touchdowns last week, But they don't think like that,
you know. And that play that we heard the radio
call on that I spoke about was actually a check
at the line of scrimmage, So maybe Kittle wasn't even

(01:05:22):
the primary when the first for the initial play was called, right,
So they don't think like that. That's not the way
Kyle Shanahan puts together his offense. He doesn't think in
terms of, hey, you know what, Hey, the first seven
passes Brock throws this week for them have to go
to rookie Piersoll's. Kyle doesn't think like that at all.
So they're a hard you know, if you're a fantasy guy,
I would imagine that's a hard thing to deal with

(01:05:43):
with the receivers.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
This PSA for all you Juwan Jennings owners out there,
just so you know the flow of an offense, right
and a distribution, all right, because we're talking about it,
and we'll get into Minnesota green Bay here after Isaac's update.
But one of those things with the Green Bay offense
curious in terms of that distribution. So we'll get into that.
We'll get into the ongoing handwringing over JJ McCarthy in

(01:06:08):
a moment. But first to the aforementioned Isaac loewen Kron
coming off of a bunch of soccer games yesterday that
I know he was a student observer of and he's
enjoying a Chargers by Week with a d Isaac Lowan crown.
What's up, buddy?

Speaker 5 (01:06:24):
No sacks, no quarterback hits for.

Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
Another seven days?

Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
Ah?

Speaker 5 (01:06:31):
Yes, while we started with another NFL quarterback as NFL
Media reports that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron brad is a
true game time decision for today's game at Chicago because
of a broken left wrist, while Buccaneers receiver Chris Godwin
is expected to return the night against the Rams. He's
missed the last five games of the hairline fracture in

(01:06:51):
his leg in college football on Saturday night, hit what
at sixteenth ranc Georgia Tech forty two to twenty eight,
Wisconsin knocked off Number twenty one, Illinois twenty seven to ten,
Number twenty Tennessee victorious, and Florida thirty one to eleven,
and the Volunteers first win in the Swamp in twenty
two years. Finally, guys in the NBA on Saturday night,

(01:07:14):
the Memphis Grizzlies won a Dallas one two to ninety six.
But after the game, Dallas's Clay Thompson got into it
with Memphis John Morant, and then after that Clay Thompson
held a postgame news conference about the incident that is
not to be missed.

Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
Listen, he's a funny guy.

Speaker 9 (01:07:34):
He has a lot to say all the time, especially
for a guy who rarely takes accountability.

Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
But no, that's for another day. What did Job say
on this occasion.

Speaker 9 (01:07:43):
Nothing of intelligent depth, just running his mouth. He's been
running his mouth for a long time. It's funny to
run your mouth when you're on the bench. It's kind
of the story of his career so far. Just leaving
us one more. You know, we all want to see
him out there and do his best. But he's just
been doing a lot of other stuff. Get a play
of that, and we need that in the NBA. We

(01:08:05):
need our best players will be out there and when
you're a star, come from a great responsibility.

Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
I hate to see I go to waste.

Speaker 5 (01:08:13):
Clay Thompson and John Morants the NBA's newest rivalry of words,
and I'm here for it.

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
Back to you guys, coming up Saturday Survivor Series live
from Petco Park in San Diego, pt Go Park. It
is per Oh oh really okay, So about down a card? Yeah,
let's add them to the card. All right, here we go.
There you go, big nerd out moment for me at
Isaac Glow and crowd where you find it was? That
was fiery Klay Thompson. If you'd given me a stack

(01:08:43):
of twenty dollars bills in front of me to pick
out who was giving me the quote, can't say I
would have picked out Clay's voice. I haven't heard from
him aton, so that's good. Usually Draymond did all the
talking all those years in Golden Stage. But extra fireworks
for the NBA season, John Morant shelved as are many
stars right now at Isaac Lowing Crown again where you

(01:09:03):
check him out the play by play for Angel City.
The season just completed. Some of the great calls that
he had a passion, he's got and certainly his hands
turning into a claw with the way he's got to
count pressures and sacks and everything going on with Justin
Herbert and the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
I tell you, you know, you know what was interesting though,
that was actually a pretty measured statement by Klay Thompson.
I normally don't put a lot of stock in what
guys say, you know, press conferences, but that was pretty measured.
You know. It was obviously it's people are going to
look at it as a rip, but it was kind
of thoughtful. Yeah, said he's a great player and we
want him on the field. We want the best of

(01:09:44):
this kid. But he basically said that we want the
best of this kid, but he needs to grow up.
That's basically what he said.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
It's it elder statesman trying to bring the guy along. Yeah,
And that's been the story of John Moran since he
entered the league in twenty nineteen. At all the antics,
the bad decision when he's on the court, he's a
highlight worthy guy and one of the stars that they
can promote. Just needs to get back on the court
and in a game that you don't play. Yeah, Memphis
got the w You just shut up and figure out

(01:10:13):
to the recovery to get back on. If you missed

get off of the air. Now we got a little
bit of love the Jacksonville Jaguars Arizona Cardinals before we
get to those big Grand Last Standing games. Greg Jacoby
Brissett's been pretty fantastic the five games that he's played
thus far. Harrison Junior out again, de Mercado out, but

(01:10:54):
looking at Michael Wilson twenty nine targets over the last
three weeks, mention Jacksonville still know Thomas Junior for them.
It looks like Strange is going to be activated from
IR we'll see how many routes and what he can
get back into the mix. But the run game last
week against the Chargers, what they were able to do
playing bully ball out of some pretty cool sets.

Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
Yeah yeah, I mean it's well, it's funny you talk
about Jacobe Brissett. He had a few dropbacks last week,
just just fifty seven of them, just a few. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:11:25):
You know, they put the forty seven completion jersey in
the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
You see. Yeah, is that the most ever in a game?

Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
I believe it was.

Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
Yeah, yeah, that's pretty impressive. But anyway, getting back to
Jacksonville because they're in the hunt obviously. You know, it's
interesting because you know, Trevor Lawrence not a lot of
dropbacks himself last week. The run game was the big factor,
and you know, it's it's raising a lot of questions,
and I think the tape raises the questions as as
well as to what Trevor Lawrence ultimately is. You know,

(01:11:57):
he's he's got positive gifts. Of course, he was tagged
as being generational, which is silly about anybody who's never
played in the NFL. But they're not really an offense.
I think that works best when he drops back a lot.
So now they've got two good backs. They've got tootin
and they've got at and by the way, both have juice.
Both can take it to the house, which you love

(01:12:19):
if you have that ability. They can provide some explosive plays,
but the past game is still a week to week
up and down uneven element of their offense. And you
know how I feel about that stuff, Mike. If something
is not really strong on either side of the ball
in any given week and can be exposed.

Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
Yeah, we look at the Jaguars right now. If you
go down just their their positional leaders. I mean, Brian
Thomas has played eight games, he's still seventy yards ahead
of their next leading receiver, Parker Washington. Travis Hunter obviously
gone for the year, Diami Brown is popped up on
the radar a couple of times, and then you start
going down. Jacoby Meyers one of the recent editions, so

(01:13:00):
they're hoping to get him fully integrated, maybe up a
bit as we go now to close the loop, you know,
because we love our records. So the previous record forty
five had been done twice twenty nineteen. Jared Goff, the
other nineteen ninety four. This goes good back to our
Eric Zire conversation earlier. Yeah, nineteen ninety four by Drew bledsoe.

Speaker 3 (01:13:22):
Oh, that doesn't surprise me. Drew could probably still throw it,
you know, but so it's one of those guys. Flacco
will be the same way. They could probably throw it
when they're seventy five. You know. It's yeah, just they
were such easy throwers.

Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
He's one of my favorite guys to talk to when
you run into him, particularly if you got a little
bit of his double back wine that I was gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
Say, isn't he in the wine business?

Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
Yeah, I'll send you somep for the holiday.

Speaker 3 (01:13:42):
Greg, all right, I'm not really a wine drinker, but
I appreciate that you.

Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
Could take it to a party, you know, become the
popular guy at the party.

Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
It's football season, Mike, I don't really do parties.

Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
Well, I get that, Hey, what's he doing? He's watching tape?

Speaker 3 (01:13:57):
Is there a holiday this week? I'm told there is
a holiday that's.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
In between a lot of football three and then we
get Black Friday and with the Eagles and the Bears,
a little something special this week In terms of the scheduling,
no question about no bye weeks though, so we'll get
everybody in action for the week. But certainly, you know what,
you probably missed the Blue Gray game like I do,
right for that extra football on Christmas morning?

Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
I do. I do. Indeed, you know I have to
work around because you know, Christmas is the holiday you
have to work around. You can't make people work on Christmas.
I mean I do, but that's because I'm a little nuts.
But you can't make people work on Christmas. So you know,
we have to work around it with the matchup show.
And it is what it is, you know, that's it.
It's a spiritual holiday. You can't make people work.

Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
Now. It's the beauty of the time of the season.
But the passion project that we all undertake. We love
what we do. We're blessed to do it with you.
Two weeks or two hours a week here on Fox
Sports Radio here on Sunday mornings. Countdown to Kickoff, presented
by bet MGM, comes up in about twenty minutes from now.
They'll get you back through the college sl some of
the big takeaways and chaos theories that are being forged

(01:15:04):
coming on.

Speaker 3 (01:15:05):
I'm sure, I'm sure. Jeff Schwartz we'll spend the first
how we're talking about Oregon.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
You got a lot of positivity coming out of.

Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
Oregon because here, well I love Jeff.

Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
But here in Los Angeles it was it was a
lot of the Lincoln Riley Rise. But yeah, no, Jeff's fantastic.

Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
Yeah, yeah, I love them.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
So Jeff, Bill and Brian have you at the top
of the hour. We got you for twenty more minutes.
We still have two big games to preview and some
big takeaways as we get ready for Week twelve of
your National Football League season. He's great co sal NFL
films forty six years. Hear them every Thursday, fifteen to
twenty minutes. If they're smart, they just keep leeching that

(01:15:42):
out and pushing the time on Colin Coward Show. That's
one pm Eastern catch that each and every week, must
listen to radio. And obviously we're blessed to do what
we do here for our two hours. Hope you enjoy it, evangelize,
send it to friends and family. Always looking to grow
this global base that we have here at Fox Sports Radio.
As we continue, though, we turn back team starting to

(01:16:04):
get healthy. How dangerous are they today in a huge
road game we'll talk about it next.

Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
Here you're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
Welcome back in couple last games to clean up. Here
at Fox Football Sunday, Mike Harmon alongside Greg coach selle
blessed to be with you. Thank you for giving us
on a few minutes of your time. It is not
lost on us the options that you have and certainly
the responsibilities and everything going on with the holiday holiday holidays.
Be careful, be safe out there, take care of each other,

(01:16:38):
take care of yourself, and enjoy some football because it
is a fun slate. Here for Week twelve at Greg
Coat cell where you find him in the twitters. Find
me over at Swollen Dome, the matchup show that he does,
hanging out with Colin Coward Thursdays at one pm Eastern,
and of course breaking down everything is as he does
NFL films for forty six years. Greg, we got a

(01:17:00):
couple of games left to go. Let's let's start with
Minnesota in Green Bay. JJ McCarthy a lot of incoming
justin Jefferson giving him the old vote of confidence. But unfortunately,
and fantasy owners know this all too well, the regardless
of who's been under center, been a tough slog for
those receivers downfield. McCarthy folks are already trying to push

(01:17:23):
him to the to the wayside. It's been five games.
Are you seeing any positive trajectory at all?

Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
I almost feel like he needs an off season to
really have his mechanics reworked. And again, I don't know
if it is fixable. We talked about this last week
and he's a locked front leg thrower and that poses
problems when you throw the football. We won't go into
all the details of that again.

Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
But we can find the podcast from last year.

Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
Yeah, yeah, I feel like and again I'm not a
quarterback coach, but you know, spend a lot of time
studying quarterbacks, learned from really smart people. I don't know
if that's fixable. If it's not, then there'll always be
some issues. Throwing the football doesn't mean he can't play.
I'll give you an example. Alex Smith was a locked

(01:18:08):
front leg thrower, had a lot of success in this league.
Then it comes down to other factors. So we'll see.
But I think on the other side of the ball,
that's where I think this game is really interesting because
people may remember that Minnesota beat Green Bay twice last
year and what Flores does. We spoke about this earlier
in our first hour. What he's so so good at

(01:18:30):
is changing the picture from pre snap to post snap.
He's really good at understanding past protections and forcing you
to protect a certain way and then bringing pressure from
the opposite side. So this is going to be a
real challenge for the Packers offense for Jordan Love for
the protection and like I said, they beat him twice
last year.

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Yeah, we saw teams struggle against Carolina and Philadelphia. When
you go back scoring a total of twenty points in
those games for Jordan Love. Statistically, it looks clean right
when you look at the touchdown, the interception ratio, Christian
Watson with a big game against the Giants in that
twenty seven to twenty win, but week to week trying

(01:19:11):
to determine, forget fantasy, but just in general the flow
of that passing game. And now you've got a question
mark with Josh Jacobs, who looks like he's a true
game time decision. It's him and Emanuel Wilson getting after it.

Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
And that's a great point, Mike, because they haven't run
the ball this year though. Why they have the last
couple of years, and we know that that's very important
to metal a floor. He does not want it to
be at Jordan Love, you know, just passing fest. That's
not the way he wants to play. And I think
Love based on tape has actually played pretty well. But
they've had their moments where they've struggled to sustain offense
and score.

Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
Be really curious Minnesota side of things. Ryan Kelly back
for that offensive line today. We'll see how much that's
a help to young JJ McCarthy. All Right, last game,
let's saddle up with one of the MVP favorites.

Speaker 5 (01:19:56):
Matthew Stafford has a snap Fax, boots through to the right,
Flack Cafe, parking it out the five, makes a seahawk miss.

Speaker 7 (01:20:02):
Against his former team.

Speaker 5 (01:20:04):
Callby Parkinson puts it in the paints.

Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
Touchdown.

Speaker 5 (01:20:10):
Matthew Stafford touchdown, Call me Parkinson touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
Allay, there you go, another resplendent call. Matthew Stafford killing
it and they're loving every bit of it. They've got
the huge game tonight going up against Tampa, who returned
Godwin and Bucky Irving.

Speaker 3 (01:20:30):
Yeah, that'll be really big. But you know what I'm
curious about. We've talked about this. The last couple of weeks,
how much thirteen personnel the Rams have played three tight ends.
I'm curious if they stay that route with Tyler Higbey
going on ir now, they still have three tight ends.
But I'm curious to see because we know how good
Sean McVay is. He can do anything and he can
build any kind of offense. So that's something I'm going

(01:20:53):
to look for in this game.

Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
I just want to go week to week where teams
signed Mercedes Lewis to help out when they need him.

Speaker 3 (01:20:59):
But is he about sixty now? Is yeah? Yeah, he's
close to Social Security now.

Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
I think that's it. We talked with Jay Glazer earlier
in the week. He's like, is he ready? It's like
he can still block. Okay, get him out there. So
we rolled through at Great Cozell where you find him
check out all his latest ads. Rolling down from Me
appreciate y'all. Countdown to Kickoff, presented by bet MGM is
next on Fox
